Brewery Tour

By Cathy S |

Our family had a great time on this tour. Norman was our guide. He was very energetic, and knowledgeable about the brewery. Even our teenage kids were entertained by him.
Our teens were older, so had to pay for them as well, but everyone got a cool pint glass, and had plenty to drink (kids had the root beer, which was delicious).

I wish we would have eaten there - the food looked great.

Entertaining, informative and tasty

By Gina S |

We had a grand time with the tour hosted by Ben. He was informative and entertaining for the large crowd we were with covering all age groups.
The taste testing was very generous as well. Strongly recommend tour to locals as well as out-of-towners.

Great Local Brewery

By Kim C |

I visited Milwaukee for the first time and my hotel recommended LFB brewery tour. I got an Uber ride over during a bleak rainy April weekday. The tour was terrific (only 3 of us) and the beer outstanding. I really loved the Hazy IPA which I drank along with the fried cheese curds. I even bought a nice sweatshirt to take home for my son. Everyone was great. They tell me it gets much more crowded on the weekends and you should book the tour ahead of time but I think your good just showing up during the most weekdays. Go take the tour and enjoy the beer.

Neat place average beer

By qch3 |

We had a great day to sit out next to the river. Had several beers that were ok not great not bad. The place just kind of made me think it was more of a tourist spot than a brewery. We visited several other local places with much better beer.

Great food, drink, and tour!

By Kylie_124 |

If you find yourself in Milwaukee, definitely take time to visit Lakefront Brewery. The food is good, beer is tasty, and the brewery tour is fun and informative! We ate and had a beer, then did the tour. I'd recommend doing the tour before ordering drinks, as you get to drink during the tour and also receive drink tokens. So an enjoyable afternoon!

Lunch before the theater

By Michael H |

Great ambience, fairly priced beer, above average food. Parking is ok. Didnt have time for the tour, but it appeared to be in high demand.

A fantastic spot to pass time with friends and beers.

By DJinNashville |

We selected to have lunch and tour Lakefront Brewery after talking to locals. We glad we did. As soon as you step in their beer hall, you understand why it's so popular: great atmosphere, great food options, and of course, many beer options -- some that you can only find at the brewery. The food was very good and big portions. The tour was fun and very informative. And with all the tokens (each worth half a beer), we had plenty to stay some more time after the tour. We really enjoy that part too: trying different beers and different spots at the brewery, including along the river. A fun place for locals and tourists alike!

Best Tour Around!

By travelingtaylor498 |

This is one of those tours you just can’t miss! It’s very interactive and fun to listen to. You get free beer and a glass with it too! There is rootbeer as well for those who don’t like beer. The food is average, but the beer is great!

Fun time by all

By Aquatic P |

This is an excellent tour and you get lots of free beer!! Win win. Our tour guide was funny and knowledgeable. Our party of 11 had a great time. The facility is handicap accessible. We stayed for the Friday Night fish fry and the food was very good and the portions large. Awesome cheese curds. Great german style band played, complete with a bubble machine! Parking was a bit difficult. We were on the street about a 1/2 mile away.

Stop during Milwaukee sight seeing tour

By Terri B |

This is a great place. Awesome beer selection and friendly staff. We got the bonus of the tour, learning the history of beer making.

Good Brewery Tour

By JXXXR |

I came to the Lakefront Brewery in September 2018 for a tour and to try some beer. The tour is relatively good and explains the beer making process well, although there is nothing stunning to see. You also get to drink beer whilst the tour is going on which is nice. The beer itself here is decent enough but is nothing different to what you would usually get at a London pub. Overall Lakefront Brewery is worth going to in Milwaukee but is not a complete must visit.

Great beer, fun atmosphere. Sat outside by the river. The fried cheese curds were the best we had in state. A little hard to park. Staff were friendly and helpful. Did not take the tour but it seemed like all who did enjoyed doing it

Can’t believe people like their beer.

By karouselkid |

Make no mistake, you’re here for the ambience not the beer. Food was traditional pub fare. Beers were meh. We tried many samples and really couldn’t find one that tasted good.

Friday fish fry and polka

By Amanda M |

We loved this location — waiting for a table at the fish fry out by the water was idyllic. The beers were all so good in our sampler it was hard to choose. This is close to the swing park, and I recommend stopping there on the way in or out via the stairs across the street and under the bridge.

Stopped here for dinner while on vacation

By Nancy A |

Great experience with outside seating. Ordering is easy and then grab your grub and head out back to sit near the river.

Lakefront Brewery

By Bruce S |

Took the Brewery tour - ate dinner there and received tokens from going on the tour for beer - had a great time - learned how they made the beer. Fish dinner was great with seasoned fries!

Hoppin fun

By Debe1204 |

Went on the 11 am tour today and really enjoyed it. Our guide Max had lots of energy and a twisted sense of humor, making it a fun outing. The varieties of beer are great, and don’t miss the fried cheese curds.

Great beer

By GJP72 |

A lovely location and sizeable drinking hall. The bartender appreciated I was English and suggested a great beer, served perfectly.

A Fun Place

By Bunkerhill4343 |

A fun experience. Take the "tour." It's somewhat informative but a bundle of laughs. The food at the brewery is actually pretty darn good. The beer is outstanding. A good place to spend a few hours some afternoon.

Great tour and food

By Lianne E |

I didn’t like beer till I got here and they introduced me to a beer cocktail, which they mixed with cranberry. It was tasty. Food was amazing. Tried the sausage flights, cheese curds, and the fried Brussels sprouts. All were really, really good. Our tour was fun and Battle was a great guide. I will definitely be back again!

Fun Tour, Good Food, Great Beer!

By James Z |

On our first day in Milwaukee we stopped by here and did the tour, which was highly recommended to us as the thing to do in Milwaukee! The tour did not disappoint. Our tour guide Mike was a blast, he had everyone laughing the entire time. The beer was so good here we kept coming back everyday we were in Milwaukee. They have an awesome patio on the river to enjoy your beers on. They also have good food to go with the exceptional beer.

Disappointed ☹️

By KIm H |

I went to Lakefront for the first time yesterday with two friends. We were told when we arrived that there was a 1 hour maximum at the table but it wasn’t “rock solid”. We ordered beers and a couple appetizers (which were delicious). We told the waitress when she brought the apps that we also wanted to order entrees but needed a couple minutes. When she came back we ordered another round of beer and when we tried to order food, she said we only had 20 minutes left and there wasn’t enough time. Huh? There was no line to get in. There were several open tables. She was actually timing us? And then wouldn’t let us order entrees?? Who turns away business? I’ve never heard of anything like this. They missed out on an extra $50 in food and beer because our time was up. SMH.

Honestly not impressed

By The_Crafty_Beer_Mermaid |

Oh course I wanted to see were Laverne and Shirley was filmed but honestly this place is nothing like that anymore. I think they should just rebrand themselves as their own brewery and highlight the fact it was filmed here. I honestly was not impressed with their beer selection. They were extremely rude as we wanted to be seated before trivia and said we had 45 minutes to eat and drink and get out. I get that we needed to be out before the event but it was handled very rudely. I personally would probably not go back based on how we were treated.

What Tour?

By Jim L |

My idea of a tour is you go through the facility to see how the product is made. This “tour “ consisted of standing in a room and listening to the guide tell worn out jokes that you might have found funny in junior high. We never saw any of the actual brewing or packaging . What exactly did we pay for? A free glass? Felt ripped off. I would like my money and my time back. Very disappointing.

Cool Beer Hall, Good Beer - but the brewery tour was disappointing!

By brodge |

While visiting Milwaukee, we came to the Lakefront Brewery for a tour. The beerhall has a cool vibe and the beer was good! However, the tour was not what we expected. They claim to give tours with a twist of comedy and fun. You really don't see much of the facility. You stand in a small room for 30-40 minutes with the other tour attendees (about 15-18 in our group). At some point, you'll walk down some stairs past a few beer tanks into another space where you'll stand an additional 15-20 minutes. Our guide was a little extra. He spoke in a theatrical voice (Shakespeare like) and you couldn't understand what he said at times. He also made too many political references and sex jokes. We will choose another brewery tour next time we're in Milwaukee.

Great Time

By HarryT_10 |

Loved the food. Beer was great. Tour was outstanding. You’re lucky if you get Ryan as your tour guide. Funny dude. The tour ends with you singing the theme song to Laverne and Shirley. An awesome deal.

Lakefront Technical Tour - Great experience!

By Barbara |

I've taken the standard Lakefront Brewery Tour twice and today we did the 3 hour technical tour. What a great experience! We spent 90 minutes on the tour with Ian who did a great job sharing the history of brewing in Milwaukee as well as a bit more in-depth explanation of brewing than the standard tour. Then we enjoyed a 90 minute beer and food tasting that was truly interesting and tasty! Great pairings with an appetizer course, simple "main" course and a dessert course. Each course included 3 beer pairings and more information about the beers we were enjoying. It was fun getting to know our group, and our your guides were super laid back and enjoyable. The whole experience was great and well worth the price of admission. If you've done any standard brew tour and want a special tour experience, this is a great one to try! We had a blast.

Fun tour, excellent fish fry!

By Kiliki6 |

One of the funniest brewery tours we've ever been on. Singing the opening song of the Laverne and Shirley show at the end of the tour will be something I'll never forget, as a big fan of the show. We decided to stay for the fish fry afterwards, but be prepared to wait....it's well worth it though. And the award winning cheese curds with garlic ranch dip--THE BEST we've ever tasted! We will definitely be back with others.

A must visit

By Kim M |

Tour was so much fun with our guide George. Lots of laughs and very engaging. Food - I can see why they are award winning! We had cheese curds, pretzel, sausages, Mac and cheese and all were fabulous. American Family field (Brewers) would use them as a concessionaire.

Great Brewery Tour

By kdbauder |

Not your typical brewery tour. You will learn how they make the beers but also brings some humor to the tour.

So Fun

By RoTripper597 |

This was such a fun part of our weekend trip to MKE. The tour was fantastic - we got the school teacher/comedian - he was hilarious. Lots to drink on the tour if that is your goal. Nice variety of beers available. Many people were eating there as well for lunch.

Great beer and food

By jmolt14 |

The brewery is in a really cool part of Milwaukee. You get a solid amount of beer for the price you pay for the tour, and the beers that I had were all really good. The tour guide was entertaining, but aside from that the tour is pretty similar to any other brewery tour you would go on in regards to the information they gave you. The food they have there too is really good, especially the cheese curds. Looking forward to going back.

If you do a Milwaukee brewery do this one!!

By Mike W |

Visited the Lakefront Brewery at the start of a USA mid-west Road trip.
We figured if you visit Milwaukee you do beer. We made the right choice.
JD was excellent. Passionate, enthusiastic, very funny and so knowledgeable.
He steered us through the process with aplomb, managed the slightly difficult guests beautifully and gave us a new understanding and appreciation of the craft.
The beer was delicious too.
Come to Scotland JD and let us return the favour

Great Friday Fish Fry and Tour

By kes664 |

My husband and I decided we should do a Wisconsin Friday Fish Fry and we certainly picked the right place for it. The food and beer was great and the atmosphere couldn't be beat. Enjoyed the German band and all the people dancing. Then on Sunday part of our group decided to do our own beer tour and started here. The tour was fun and informative and even those who don't drink beer thoroughly enjoyed it! The area along the river was a fun place to enjoy a brat and more good beer. Highly recommend as the food, beer and atmosphere were great and the staff very friendly and helpful!

Great tour, great beer, great food

By Sarah S |

An all-around fun place. A great place to spend a chunk of time sitting, sipping a variety of beers and eating some yummy food.

Don't miss this place!

By Martin M |

I will never regret taking the recommendation to visit Lakefront Brewing. Purchase tix in advance. Great food. Great service. Great selection of beer. Nothing was disappointing. Beer as it should be. Brewery hall as it should be.

Grab your beer from counter and sit at picnic table; limited food

By 42kRun |

The craft beer was reasonable and they had a good choice of IPA's but being our first visit here, we stood in line at the counter and had to choose a beer quickly since others behind us were waiting to order. No beer service at the table. The food selection was limited and not too inviting.

Spend your tour time eating and drinking

By LeftyDv |

Wow. We skipped the tour (aren’t all beer tours about the same, anyway?) and just enjoyed the beautiful patio right along the Milwaukee river. The employees are great and helped us settle into solid beer selections that made for a great afternoon. The beer was wonderful, topped only by their sausage flight and award-winning cheese curds.

I don’t know much about Milwaukee, but people say: drink the beer, try the sausage, and eat cheese curds. This was the one place we found that did all three in a great setting, with great people, and with great results. People on the tour seemed happy too; I just can’t speak to that because I spent my 90 minutes gorging myself!

This felt like authentic Milwaukee, and there were plenty of natives from the neighborhood hanging out that made it so. Cheers!

We were underwhelmed!

By Mary K |

After all the hype, we expected more. The fish and coleslaw were fine, but nothing special. You order food and beer at different locations when you enter. It is one HUGE room, so it is very noisy. It was hard to carry on a conversation with my brother who was sitting across from me. The beer was fine, too, but there was nothing that attracted me to this brewery.

Great fun for the whole family

By AM-PM |

We did the beer tour on a Saturday evening followed by dinner with our teenage kids. It was a blast--fun, funny, informative enough, and a great value. While some jokes were definitely for adults, it was not inappropriate for teens. For $11, we each got the tour, a souvenir pint glass, and 4 tokens for beer or soft drinks. We ordered a variety of food for dinner, and everything was very good, especially the poutine and cheese curds. There were no long lines; it was easy to get a table on a Saturday evening, much to our surprise. The outside walk around the riverfront is very pleasant, too. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Milwaukee.

Great place to stop when on the water

By ScenicSights |

We were canoeing/kayaking and stopped here for lunch. We had packed lunch but bought some drinks, fries and cheese curds. We had ample space to sit. The port a potties were clean. And it was nice to be outside facing the water. All-in-all, a pleasant time.

What a fun tour!

By Tim & Lisa |

This was a lot of fun… and I don’t even like beer! Jesse was our tour guide and did a wonderful job. They explained the whole process by showing us four different sections of the brewery which even included a small tribute to Laverne & Shirley. The bar out back by the river was a lovely spot to spend some time after the tour.

Brewery tour

By Suzanne D |

Amy Sue gave an excellent brewery tour! She was funny, informative, and entertaining, a perfect tour guide for a brewery. We had a delightful time and enjoyed the great beer too!

Great place to chill & have a beer

By Justin J |

Great outdoor patio along the Milwaukee River! Grab a beer on the patio and sit to enjoy the boats going by. Plenty of seating. Beer was great!! The server on the patio was super friendly and talkative! Plenty of free street parking. Highly recommend!!

Go for the food and beer.

By In50by50 |

Make the tour optional. The cheese curds are terrific, the poutine is a must, the fish is nice, but not as good as I expected from the hype. Obviously there is beer everywhere and it's all wonderful and fresh. Our tour guide, Mike, was great. The tour itself... it's OK.

Decent brewery...

By Simon |

3.5 stars is more like it. Went on a Friday for a 1pm tour. Place was packed. Tour was packed. They really jam in the tours. It makes it large, uncomfortable and harder for the guide to control and keep track of. Just too many people at once. The guide we had (JD) tried to be a little too cool for school, with constant awful jokes that believed to be the pinnacle of humor. Very little true insight into the history and craft of this brewery. Couldn’t wait for it to end, and was looking for an escape out. The beers are good, the food hall is good (try the fish fry) and the pint glass souvenirs are a nice touch. But if you’re only going to do one tour, look elsewhere, particularly for a smaller craft brewer. There are plenty to chose from.

Fun Brewery Tour

By sgec1105 |

We had a fun, creative and entertaining tour of the Lakefront Brewery. Our guide was Tony, he did a great job. The brewery is not very big, tours are on the hour, you can have a drink (beer!) and eat there as well. It is fun to taste the beers and learn how they are made. They have 2 gluten free beers and also informed us they are one of the few kosher breweries in the US. The tour is reasonably priced and does include beer. The company is environmentally conscious and the cups for the beer are biodegradable!

Great Beer on the Water

By Calitripgirl |

We loved our experience. We ordered beer battered fish taco's and they were excellent. We sampled a few beers. Please note if you're going to drink any beer do the The Tour. The brewery tours last approximately 45 minutes and are geared towards adults. Ticket prices vary but in August weekend tour is $11. The tour includes 4, 6 oz. samples, a souvenir pint glass, and a coupon for a free Lakefront pint elsewhere.

Group fun and great beer and food.

By eatlocal1ofakind |

Terrific find. Great beer selection, group friendly, good food. We had the fish fry and the giant pretzel. The fish fry was delicious. Not too much breading and very moist firm fish. Get the seasoned fries- Yum.

Must do!

By stacy |

Tour was absolutely a blast and a must do! A great way to spend the afternoon when out of town for work. Thanks for the great time and wow the beer is amazing!

Great atmosphere and tour

By kejele |

This is a very relaxing tour..not corporate like the Miller tour. Guide was informative and funny. Drinking beer during tour was a plus. Beer hall also very nice as is the outdoor space along the river. If I had to take one beer tour in Milwaukee, this is it.

Fun hour!

By B G |

We were looking for something to do while waiting to pick up someone from the airport. The brewery had several tour times to choose from, and we were thrilled! Most other area breweries only had tours earlier in the day, but Lakefront had a 6pm! It was a very affordable, entertaining, and informative tour. My only suggestion would be that on really hot days for the guides to keep the production floor tour super short. The last 5 minutes could have been finished up in the upstairs air conditioning. Other than that, it was a fun hour!

Great fish fry!

By Eddie C |

My friends and I were visiting Milwaukee and allot of locals recommended this spot on Friday during happy hour. They have a fishfry with allot of local foods. The wait is pretty long, but worth it. The seating is cafeteria style.

Met the boyfriend's family for the first time

By Woodcrest55129 |

Nice relaxing environment to meet new people before heading to the Marquette basketball game. Good basic food. I had the fish fry lunch, which they are known for, and it was good. The beer (that is why you are there) was fun. I normally head for a stout or porter but they had a CASK beers, I had the RENDEZVOUS. Like an English Pub. GREAT!

Lives up to the best brewery ratings!

By ab1324 |

I can see why this is the highest rated brewery and tour in the area. They earned it! If you are in the area this is the number one must do. We bought tickets in advance and highly recommend it. When booking only one timeslot was open. We were scheduled for a 2pm tour Saturday. Upon arrival they take the tours to a small waiting area and the tour guide immediately offers samples or full cups of beer. Our tour guide Weston was funny, well informed and kept everyone laughing the entire time. They use giant posters to help with the tour and that adds to the humor. He interacted with the guests and made 45 minutes go back fast-almost too fast because it was that fun. We dined in after and our server was just as funny and engaging. They must have a high retention rate for employees because everyone seemed happy to be there. We even saw the brewery president Russ out and about talking with guests. Speaks volumes as to why it is so successful in my opinion. The cheese curds, soft pretzel and fish fry are all must tries. I would return and take the tour again the next time I am in Milwaukee.

OK Tour

By Wayne M |

I did the tour here as I thought it would be interesting to see how a small brewery operates. It was reasonably interesting but the guides were too joky to make it a great experience. It’s value for money though as you receive four beer tokens with the tour.

Fun!

By T D |

This brewery obviously believes in hosting a fun environment, from the 3 Stooges out front to the events (heard the tour is also a lot of laughs but didn't make it in time). The night we went was Drag Bingo night. We didn't stay for it as we were trying to catch up with an old friend and couldn't talk comfortably but there are different events each night of the week and all of them looked like a lot of fun. (this place is near the University but had an eclectic group of patrons). The atmosphere is beautiful, the bartenders knowledgeable and happily provided a few options for me to taste when I was having trouble making my selection, all 3 I tried were really good but the bartenders pick for me was my favorite so feel free to give them an idea of the types of beers you like (I was looking for a pilsner, kolsch or light lager).

Nice visit following the river

By Beotien |

A brewery that can be visited late and whose $12 entry allows you to drink 4 beers and have a beer glass included.
You can eat on site, in a friendly (and noisy) place

A Pretty Good tour

By wslin86 |

The brewery was smaller than we expected, but then again, it is a craft brewery. We did the technical tour, only offered on Sunday and would only recommend this tour because they limit the number of people and you get to see more. The tour behind us, the general tour had 40-50 people - way to many for the size of the place. The beginning of the tour gave an in-depth history of brewing in Milwaukee and of the company, but should have been done upstairs sitting down, given the length of the intro. That made the back end of the tour too rushed. For a technical tour, there was not enough info on the actual production process for beer and the flow seemed disjointed, but we did get to look into the vats and up close to the equipment. The guide was informative, but no age appropriate for the two children with us. They offer free beer at the start of the tour and a beer stop mid-way through. The technical tour has a food pairing with samples of 9 beers and delicious bites that are more than a full meal. Tour part was OK, tasting was good and I am sure the bar scene is great. Would not do it again, but would not recommend against it.

We loved it!

By Diana P |

I went with my sister's family and my family. I would recommend getting there before noon. When we got there, it wasn't too busy and we had our choice of where we wanted to sit. It was a nice day so we sat outside. The kids had kids' meals and root beer. They servers behind the bar were really friendly and even as it was getting busy let me sample a beer and were very kind to my kids. Everyone in our group had a good time and it was a great way to start off our weekend in Milwaukee.

A fun time is guaranteed

By Glen W |

Great place to relax, have a beer, cheese curds and food within a huge hall, along with taking a 'comically' interesting tour of the process of beer production. Prices are very reasonable, highly recommended.

Fun

By rsaljg |

We visited on a Tuesday afternoon and it was busy! The tuor is informative, but due to production, we only could look through the windows. You are given 4 tokens to exchange for 4 glasses of beer. There also is a glass cup you receive at the end of the tour. We sat outside by the Milwaukee River and enjoyed a glass. Would recommend.

Fun atmosphere but food quality has declined

By Chicago_Guy3344 |

We went last year and had a great time. Went again in March 2019, and the food quality really seemed to have declined. My kids didn’t really eat their meals either when they loved the same dishes last year. Fun atmosphere and good beer though. Parking can be tough to find on a Saturday.

Horrible!

By Amy M |

I normally do not write reviews but this one is worth writing. I have never been disappointed in a tour and tour guide. We were visiting the brewery for a birthday party. The staff member who gave us a tour did not show respect and dignity to us. When asking members of our party to leave the tour due to being too loud he called them out in front of everyone. I am not sure if the tour guide was having a bad day but it was inappropriate to call people out. I understand being too loud but to call members out and to say we are the worse group in front of others. This had a negative impact on the group and our opinion on this staff member and brewery. We will not be back.

Great Brewery Tour

By Hartfelt B |

My wife and I visited Lakefront Brewery a few years back as part of a trip to Milwaukee for our first anniversary. Lakefront's brewery tour came highly recommended, so we decided to give it a chance. This was the most fun I had at any of the tours we took in Milwaukee. The tour guide was exceptionally knowledgeable. He went into a lot brewing science details to describe each step of the brew process and why it's important. He was also very courteous and treated my wife and I very well. The beer was quite tasty from what I recall and the brewpub had a great atmosphere for casual drinking. If you plan to visit Milwaukee and have a tour around the area, certainly stop by Lakefront.

Great visit!

By jjnjw |

Awesome tour at the brewery. Very entertaining and enjoyable for all of us- including our 13 year old. The beer was fabulous too!!!

Spacious, delicious, and friendly

By peloni |

Because we were in Milwaukee for a wedding, we visited Lakefront Brewery early on a Saturday morning. The staff was welcoming and friendly - even getting one of the owners to sign our Wisconsin's Best Breweries book. Beers are awesome - even our non-beer drinking daughter enjoyed hers. Though we couldn't stay long, we look forward to coming back for a fish fry and a longer visit.

Fun Brewery Tour Well Worth the Cost

By Bob53095 |

Four of us decided to do a Brewery tour one Friday as I hadn't done one in decades - that despite the fact I'm just 30 minutes out of Milwaukee. Well, we had to rectify that! Must say, the tour was hosted by an entertaining and funny, yet knowledgable young guy. It took about 40 minutes and came with a couple tickets for beer served in their lounge and eating area. Plus, during the summer they have a nice bar and seating area in back right along the Milwaukee River. Had a fish fry there which was very good and reasonable. Keep in mind you should get tix ahead of time for weekend visits as tours do sell out. But even a short visit would be worthwhile.

Lots of fun!!

By Dawn M |

This is fun brewery tour to go on that will keep everyone in the group laughing along with some tv references to beer brewing. The beer was great and the food too. Definitely walk down to the patio along the river for great views in a relaxed setting!

Not great for those who are mobility impaired or on special diets.

By Heather G |

I should have just turned around when the bird crapped on my head when I got out of my car in their parking lot that was right under a bridge. But, I like their gluten-free beer and thought their outdoor dining looked fun when I looked at it from the river. I had a group of six in my party that were visiting from out of state with me, three of which use walkers. As I soon found out, this place is not great for those who are mobility impaired. First, we had to walk across the parking lot and up a big ramp to get into the building to talk to a hostess just to find out that the outdoor seating is first come first served and we could either walk down a huge set of steps or go back to the parking lot. Oh, and there were three huge lines to choose from - two for seating and one for takeout. We just decided to eat inside. Well, there are no servers to take your order. You have to use a QR code on your phone to put your order in. There is no one to answer your questions about the menu. No substitutions either. Terrible customer experience. It was a Friday lunch, so their menu was limited. No gluten-free items at all, yet they make a great gluten-free beer. So, we ordered fish fries, cheese curds, three beers and iced tea. We had a diabetic in the group. He ordered iced tea. It came to the table and was sugared sweet tea. We had to flag down a food carrier to get it changed. The cheese curds and fish were really good, the rest was greasy and basic. To get to the bathroom, you’ll have to push through the crowds of people in the gift shop.

Great beer

By adharris0915 |

Nice beer and a great atmosphere. The pretzels were also good. Great stop on the Riverwalk. Must stop.

Exceptional Beer and Very Good Food in an Awesome Atmosphere

By GGWD |

This place is great, we had a good time, had lots of great beer and some yummy food including sausages and cheese curds. We did the tour ($9) and its worth it as you get a cup and tokens for 4 beers plus at the end you trade the cup in for a nice Lakefront Beer Glass cup. Personally I found the tour somewhat boring and it was clear that we were just dragging out time at numerous stops. It is an hour, should be half that.

Great tour, tasty beers.

By S B |

Took in the tour. Great value for the money. Tour guide was very good and entertaining. Many beers to try. Beer hall has great ambiance and deep fried cheese curds were very tasty. Got pint glass souvenir too.

Great Brewery Tour

By Charles W |

Very entertaing brewery tour. Niki was a great tour guide. Lots of great beer. The food was good and reasonably priced. Good parking.

Great, fun tour!

By Alexandra C |

We were In Milwaukee for two weeks on business and we wanted to do a brewery tour. There is so much choice but I don’t believe we could have picked better. 7 of us went Saturday lunchtime and Katie was our tour guide. She was brilliant; very knowledgable and very funny.
The tour was about 45 mins long. As others have mentioned, the tour was $12, which included 4 tokens for beers (you get one half way round the tour and others before/after). The plastic cup you get can be swapped for a souvenir glass at the end - great value!
Would definitely recommend

Great Spot to Relax and Enjoy Local Beer!

This is a great spot to sit outside on the river and relax with a cold beer. Lakefront Brewery offers a dozen onsite brewed beers as well as a inside dining menu and a fantastic Cheese Curds food truck outside. There are plenty of picnic tables and bar stools to choose from to sit and dogs, kids, and adults are welcome. Friendly staff and tours are available. Would definitely recommend a stop here.

One of the best!!!

By Matt C |

We have been on this tour numerous times and it’s always a blast. Each tour guide is always funny and full of information. The beer samples included with the tour is a nice touch. The food is great and the fish fry is one of the best in the city. Lake Front Brewery tour is a great way to spend a couples learning about brewing and drinking great beer.

One of the best brewery tours in Milwaukee

By iltrekguy |

If you have a chance, take the tour on a Friday evening and enjoy the fish fry as well. Beer samples during the tour at two stops and then have token to pick from selected beers in the tap room. They also give you a coupon to take yo a local bar for a free beer similar to Milwaukee Brewing Company.

Fun tour, good beer, great value

By mfnyc |

We were in Milwaukee with our kids and their fiances for an event. We had some time Saturday evening, and kids wanted to go to brewery, so we headed to Lakefront Brewery. We signed up for the tour ($11). Not only was the tour a blast, but it included 4 (small) beers, and at the end you can trade in your cup for a glass or can opener. If you don't use your 4 'beer' tokens, you can trade them in for root beer to go. I think the "kids" (all around 30), would have been happy to stay for a while, but we had other plans.

Relaxing place to work, eat, be

By MommaGottaChat |

The kids said the chicken sandwich was awesome, and I enjoyed the vegan tomato soup and gluten-free pilsner. I would hang out here a lot if I lived nearby! Great atmosphere.

Best Brewery Tour!

By Oli J |

This was the absolute highlight of our day trip to Milwaukee whilst staying in Chicago. Our tour guide Katie provided us one of the best brewery tours I’ve been on. The people at Lakefront are proper beer people & it’s always amazing to see the passion that brewers have for their beer. We old highly recommend!

Great Tour & History

By Louise |

We were in town for the week and decided to take a brewery tour. This one was great. So much history. Loved seeing the original line from Laverne and Shirley. Definitely make sure you eat before you go and don't go before noon. They give you tickets for free samples. Since I am not a beer drinker, my husband had mine. We ended up giving our extras to other people. Next time we'll go back and try the food.

Fantastic Lunch & Tour

By Pippa S |

We came yesterday as a group of family visiting from UK with some others who live locally. We enjoyed some beers on the patio outside, lunch and a tour.

Lunch was GREAT! Really good food, freshly made and served quickly. Cheese curds to die for...

Then we did the tour - Britney Johnson was our guide and she was brilliant and hilarious - she kept the who group interested and interacting throughout. Seriously, give that girl a pay rise!

So nice to hear the story of the brewery - two local boys done good - highly recommended and now we have our souvenir glasses we’ll think of it every time we use them back in the UK.

Well done Lakefront!

Fun tour

By Mary G |

We had a very fun tour guide. The history of the brewery is interesting and they are quite generous with samples. As well as the brewery, there is a beer hall where you can get food and additional beverages. It also has a small gift shop. We got free glasses for taking the tour.

Take the tour! Perfect way to spend an afternoon

By Lauren S |

Take the tour!! Our family was in town for the weekend so we went for the afternoon. Justin was our tour guide and he was absolutely fantastic! Be ready to sip, learn and laugh a ton (and just know some of the jokes aren’t kid friendly.) The beers are so good I’m checking a bag to bring some home, and the food hit the spot. Best cheese curds around, and great service. We’ll absolutely be back, and probably take the tour all over again, just for fun!

We had a great time

By twogirlsstuff |

Cool place to hang out for a while and grab a snack from the snack bar. We took a tour and everyone had a great time... Indoor and outdoor seating along the river.

Everyone told us to check out Lakefront Brewery

By mikekap24 |

with only a partial day to spend in MKE we wanted to make sure we got the best experiences possible - everyone endorsed Lakefront and we're so glad they did!

The beers were delicious and the food was unique and great.

On the Friday night we were there they had live music for the fish fry which had non-stop people-watching entertainment of families and locals alike. For a bit of quiet we went out back onto the veranda and had a great time continuing our evening along side the lake with more of their delicious brews.

A must!

By Ashleyann1102 |

Whenever we go to Milwaukee, this place is a must stop! Great food and beer! Their cheese curds are the best!

Best brewery tour!

By bhall812 |

My wife and I took a tour here on a Saturday night. T was the best brewery tour guide we have ever had! You get 4 beers included in the price of the tour. I would highly recommend to purchase your tickets online before hand!

Great beer in a nice location!

By CT718 |

Great location on the river. Our tour guide was great! He was very lively and informative. The dark beer that I tried was good. If you are taking a tour they are very generous with the pours. There are a bunch of colorful flags around the building and some interesting artwork.

Brewery Tour was so.... entertaining

By Irene471 |

We took the tour with Katie as our guide. I can't seem to stop thinking about a truly enjoyable experience it was. Katie was very knowledgeable, but her presentation was lively, engaging, and humorous. Probably the best guide I have ever had. The cost is very low considering that you receive 2 full beers with your tour. We would highly recommend this tour.

A Neat Place

By ChristineBrown92 |

I heard this was the 2nd best place for cheese curds. They were good, but could have been cooked longer. They were also kind of chewy. I have had others that I like better. Place is neat though.

good beer

By Gerald B |

Several good beers from Lakefront brewery on the tour. The tour itself was mostly about the origins of beer and how Lakefront came to be. there was some discussion of how beer is made and how Lakefront makes their beers. The tour of the facilities was short and not much time to actually view the processes of making and packaging the product. The tour guide was quite funny.

Fun tour

By wanderlustgirl77 |

Great brewery tour. Fun and enjoyable. For $12 you get four (what they say 1/2 half pours but I think are really generous almost 8 ounce pours) of beer and a glass. A definite must do at least once.

Don't Sleep on Milwaukee

By Katty M |

Wonderful city with tons to do. Went to a Yankees vs Brewers game and really enjoyed it. Next time will do the Lakefront Brewery tour. We stayed in the downtown area area near the Third Ward. Overall awesome trip and definitely would go back.

Tour and beer - doubly great!

By Iris H |

A great tour with Chad as our tour guide. He was funny and informative at the same time. Loved the River West beer and the Agave Sun too. Happy to hear they distribute to NY!

Best brewery tour EVER

By Kathy W |

From the woman in the phone (sorry I didn’t catch your name) helping us get in until we left everything was fantastic. We took a tour with Nicky and if I had a job for him I would have stole him he was that good. He made us all laugh and there was 20 somethings until 60 somethings. Run to take the tour they give you beer and a glass so the tour is essentially free. You have to get the cheese curds best ever. But the star of the show is the pretzel with two cheeses and a mustard. They make one of the cheeses that you can’t buy 😢. I tried. I sure hope they open in Florida just fantastic experience. And Jack was an introgal part of our experience.

Ok Tour and Really Great Beer

By TravelingEurope_7 |

We learned a few interesting facts. There was a pleasant guy doing the tour. You get tokens for 3 beers. I was really great beer and I'm not even a huge beer drinker.

A nice place to drink and dine

By DERRICK S |

I didn't take the tour this time around but I have heard great things about it! I ordered the pot roast sandwich with cheese curds and a beer and it was all amazing!! The pot roast was tender, and the sauce was flavorful. The cheese curds were some of the best I've ever had. The beer was delicious also. Everybody working there seemed friendly. Someone stopped by my table and asked me how my food was and cleared my plates. Overall, a very enjoyable experience. I will return some other time and take the tour and try something else off of the menu.

Tour and fun

By Tina A |

Hilarious tour guide and good beer. Cheese curds were bomb. Visiting for the weekend and this was a must.

Average tour

By David S |

We were slightly disappointed by the tour - there wasn't much to see and the tour guide had too many 'in-house' USA political jokes and innuendos! The different beers were interesting as was some of the history. Not really worth the money!

Fun, Interactive Tour!

By libmelanie |

This was the third and final brewery tour we did on a recent, short (36 hours) trip to Milwaukee. Lakefront gives you little tokens to redeem for your samples, which is definitely plenty to try their assorted brews, especially along the tour! Our guide was entertaining, knowledgeable, and downright fun (so sorry I don't remember his name!). There are some fun interactive elements, including a Laverne & Shirley sing-along. At the end of our tour, we collected our last samples and sat along the waterfront, enjoying the cool summer breeze. The pumpkin lager was my favorite!

Great tour offered

By Derik M |

We went to the brewery for the tour. While the tour is relatively short at about 45 minutes it is well worth your time. You get two beers included with the tour and a souvenir glass to take with you. The tour is very informative about the history of the brewery and also the process of making beer.

Lunch and Tour

By Barbara W |

We were a group of four-older and younger adults. Wasn't totally what I expected - -you order food at a counter, find a place to sit and they bring it to you. Food OK, fish fry was the best. Sausages were tasteless. Seasoned fries which I hate. Some of us liked the curds.

I may be getting crotchety but tour was a guy screaming at us -- most of which we could not hear or understand - -with a lot of lame jokes, a few of which were funny.

This place must be a zoo during summer or when the convention comes.

You don’t have to drink beer to enjoy this place..

By USACorgi |

We were visiting family from Florida and they love this place and they dont even drink alcohol. We went on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and it was quite busy but no wait for a table. The kids were disappointed that we didnt go on Friday night because apparently there is live polka music and dancing that they love.
It set up with long tables, like you see in Germany, for the most part so it’s a very social place and a few smaller tables as well. The brewery conducts tours regularly throughout the day. Food is ordered at a counter and delivered to your table. Beer is purchased from the bar, so no table service other than delivery of food. Its a huge hall, very cool inside , complete with a gift shop. Food was excellent and of course we always judge a good Wisconsin restaurant by their cheese curds and I have to say I think these were the best we have ever had. All 7 of us loved our food and the ambience. It’s right on the river, so it’s a nice walk before or after dinner when the weather is nice out. Highly recommend this place and we will go back again!

Very cool hangout

By campymd |

Great beer. Nice setting. Could use more interactive options. Beautiful river view and both in and outside seating.

Stop in!

By magnoliaeleven |

I came here with a work colleague about 6pm on a Wednesday evening. We did not anticipate what we were walking into.

Upon entering it is a large beer hall. And it is very noisy. You can hear them announcing tours over the speaker system. You can order food to the left and beer to the right. We went for the food first. I decided to order the pastrami reuben sandwich without sauerkraut and my colleague ordered the turkey melt. We also ordered an appetizer of the cheese curds. We were given a number on a metal stand and had a seat.

We then went to order some beer. I chose the red IPA and my colleague chose the lager.

Shortly after someone brought the food to our table. Everything looked really good. My colleague said the turkey melt was just okay. I thought the pastrami was amazing, very tender. We both thought he cheese curds were very tasty and a little crunchy on the outside. We both thought the beer was tasty. The red IPA was very smooth.

Overall this was a good experience for what it is. It is for drinking beer and socializing with some food to supplement. I could see people expecting something different.

Best cheese curds and chocolate pie!

By Chris |

The German 'umppa' band was fun but the cheese curds were melt-in-your mouth goodness that felt like food heaven! Then ending it with chocolate pie that was simply wonderful was the best!

Great beer and sausage flights!!

By Theresa W |

We had a blast on the tour with “Tree Cee”. Most fun brewery tour ever! Their beer is great with many options for all different tastes, but if you want a good recommendation, don’t ask for “light or dark”, instead describe the flavors you like. I highly recommend the Eastside Lager...yum!! Then be sure to check out the river walk area and order some food, it was amazing. Where else can you get sausage flights! 😂 Great value too with 4 chips for beers, and turn your plastic cup in for a pint glass when you leave. If you participate during the tour, you could earn additional chips. Love this place and will visit again for sure!

Great tour

By Melbrig |

Great place to visit within the city. Really fun tour with knowledgeable staff and a great variety of beers to sample

Last stop on our city tour

By Augustsunflower |

Lakefront Brew was the last stop on our Untapped Tour. It was lunchtime so we decided to stay after our mini tour of Lakefront.
They offer multiple types of tours varying in length and topic.

Our tour guide was knowledgeable and energetic. The place is pretty loud but it's full of friendly Midwesterners so it's a good and friendly loud. :)

There are multiple activities available in summer at this location. Keep an eye out for 5k runs and markets.

Fun and quick

By Dan H |

We booked our tour online but showed up an hour early. We were asked if we wanted to go earlier so we did. Accommodating. We were lucky enough to get Justin as our guide. He had one liner after another. He kept everyone very amused. The tour lasts only a half hour. You get 4 tokens to drink any beer that they make. We all fully enjoyed ourselves and even sat outside by the river for our last beer.

Fun tour and great food!

By Amy Thompson |

We enjoyed our tour of Lakefront Brewery. Very fun tour with a great guide (Brittany). They have so very unique beers (kosher and gluten free). There is really something for everyone. We happened to be there in the night Food Network was visiting to highlight the fish fry which was also amazing!

Good curds, staff turds

By DCBruin |

In town for get out the vote. Amazing cheese curds. Beer was flavorful. Setting was scenic. Service was curt and basic. They did not welcome us. Our group was large and ready to enjoy after a long day of counting their votes. We appeared to be an inconvenience for them. They cared more about telling us about their restaurant restrictions. They would have been better to focus on selling us their service and products (beer and food) rather than the feeling that they didn’t enjoy being servers. And we were the only people in the entire beer hall. They counted the minutes till we left. Warning - drink fast, you only have 60 minutes.

Great story behind this brewery

By Debbie898 |

We visited this brewery on a City tour of Milwaukee. We took the tour and found the history of this business both entertaining and fascinating. We were offered a sample of either their beer or root beer. Fun atmosphere. If you take the tour, be prepared to climb some steps. We wish Lakefront Brewery continued success!

Real Thing

By Max D |

This started out bad. I booked the tour on a Saturday which is possibly the worst day. I had to go with this massive crowd on the tour. The guide looks like some kid from a fraternity and worst, he was telling really bad jokes and making us do the repeat after me thing which I absolutely hate because I did not pay for ppl to order me around. There was so much talking and standing that at one point I felt like I was in hell.

This is such a tiny brewery and very little walking and touring. Everything is in one building! I thought the Miller Tour is so much better.

As the tour wore on, the jokes became funnier and the guide is actually not bad at all and he was absolutely hilarious.

Toward the end of tour we arrive at packaging and bottling and I realized why this is such a popular spot and rated so high on this site. If you don’t already know which I did not know until the guide told us is this is the iconic site of the Lavern and Shirley intro when you see them working at a factory. Obviously, this is a must-visit if you’re fan of the show. I know the show but never really watched all the episodes but I do love the opening song.

In the end, I enjoyed this so much that I even tipped the guide. On the last stop they took us outdoors in the back and there was a tent and a food truck and it’s a great spot to enjoy beer and food right next to the river. There is plenty of seating for big groups as well. The beer is great but I was shocked at the quality of the food. I ordered a Kielbasa from the truck and it was served sizzling hot off the grill on a pretzel bun with some fries. Easily the best meal during my stay at Milwaukee.

Some advice, don’t use all your tokens at the beer hall since there will be some servings during tour and you definitely want to save one for outside.

It was a fitting ending especially for me since this was my last stop before heading to the airport. Cheers.

Great Beer, Good Food

By natalie n |

Fun times for all at Lakefront. Beer is solid, food is great and the tour is educational. Great way to spend some time on the weekend! In summer they have a beautiful outdoor area next to the river too!

Overall, A must visit in Milwaukee!

Great place to eat and drink

By John |

Didn’t do the tour but did participate in their “fish fry”. Food was really good, service was good...no issues. Great scene, area for stage performers at night, tons of beer to choose from, definitely a fun place to be, especially in the evening.

Katie was great!!!

By Christopher Jacob 🌹 |

We came down for a quick trip from Chicago and it was our first time. We read alot of incredible reviews about the beer and the tour and were not disappointed. The Stein and the Gosa were our favorites and I got crowned the Bung King! I was wearing my Cubs Jersey and was getting alot of heat from the locals hahaha. All in good fun! I would definitely recommend coming here when visiting Wisconsin! Great beer and very fun tour!

"Tour" is very entertaining

By Doug S |

At the start of the weekend tour, you are given four half-pour tokens. You can get whatever beer you wish to carry on the tour.

They give a fairly extensive history of the brewery, and discuss the basics how beer is produced. Tour guide kept everyone laughing - it wasn't a hard-core technical tour.

Approximately 2/3 of the time through the tour, they have a beer stop where you can optionally use tokens on a more limited selection of beers.

You get to see the basics - tanks and bottling.

If you have leftover tokens after the tour completes, you can use them at the main bar.

In October, they had nice riverfront seating with space heaters.

It's a great value for four sizeable beer pours plus entertainment plus a souvenir at the end of the tour (the day I took it, they gave pint glasses).

One of the best

By Randi W |

I’ve been to a lot of breweries but lakefront def has my heart. The beer was crisp & delicious, & the food was amazing. Would absolutely go again!

Monday Night $4.50 Tour

By Burddig11 |

Best cheese curds I’ve ever had. The tee tour was fab and highly informative. The tour guide gave a great recap of the last 40 years and gave insight into the history of Milwaukee and beer in general. You get 4 6oz beers as you walk through the facility, a pint glass and you get to sing part of the Laverne and Shirley intro. Monday night is half price because they are brewing and you don’t get to be up close and personal with the all of the equipment. But, the price in Monday night can’t be beat. Their beer is outstanding by the way. Try any of their lager or dark beers. This was a place that I would highly recommend. Food, beer, service and brew tour were all outstanding.
Cheers!

Nice cheap food

By Benson W |

Did not go on the brewery tour, it’s a 50 minutes tour and we didn’t have that much time. We got to the beer hall around 6;00 and ordered a bunch of snacks, cheese curds, pretzel, sausages and fried milk. They were relatively cheap and were quite tasty. We sat at the patio area outside and it was great weather night. Nice place to kill a couple of hours or have some beer as cheap eats.

Fun brewery tour and great food

By AccountantMuskego |

We did a brewery tour and the tour guide was very funny and entertaining. We were there for a work function, and we had a buffet dinner. The food was great.

Take the tour

By Jennifer W |

We took the toyr which is $13/person and comes with 4 half ount pours, a souvenir glass and a coupon sheet to get to sample beers at several other bars for free. Our tour guide was Nicky and he will remind you if comedian Nick Rife. Good tour and you get 4 tokens to sample different beers. The flash fried brussel sprouts and sausage platter were both quite yummy. Fried cheese curds were good as well.

Drinks

By GreatTraveltime |

We stopped in for a couple of drinks before going out to dinner. The outdoor setting is nice and the maple root beer is really good.

Gross and unimpressed

By Rebecca C |

The cheese curds were drenched in oil tonight so gross there was a puddle in the basket and it was on their night to have special cheese curds. My friend was not impressed with beers he had a beer flight that had hardly any taste to the beers

SNOTTY

By Global647963 |

East side liberal SNOTS,- you could just read the mentality, they think their better than everybody else,: their used to people throwing their money at them and their Gouging Prices.
Went to their cheese curd food truck in front of discount liquor, Menu read $15.00 for fish fry (as if that wasn't enough) lady in hazmat attire charged $18.00, I questioned her and her response was we charge Gratuity, then she barks I don't take cash.
so I went into discount liquor and bought my beer & made sure it wasn't theirs, then went next door to Serb Hall for their Great take out fish fry & saved FIVE AND A HALF DOLLARS with no attitude.

Take the tour!

By Erik L |

Great food, great drinks and great staff. Best brewery tour I've experienced! Having a beer with your loved ones while gazing upon the river is an amazing time!

Great deal

By Karen H |

Had a friends weekend in Milwaukee and found this gem. For 12.oo per person you get 4 drink tokens, a tour and a souvenir pint glass. The brewery is like a German beer hall. Lots of people sharing tables, drinking beer. I recommend the ginger gluten free beer. I tasted a bunch but that was my favorite. Tony guided our tour. He was great and funny. Anyone going to Milwaukee has to do this tour. Worth the trip!

Fun place. Lots of seating.

By Todd S |

This was a fun place to visit. It’s huge inside and they also have outside seating by the river. Great atmosphere! The food was good bar food. There was a wide variety of beers. I’d definitely go back.

Saturday Afternoon

By Barb D |

Spent a couple hours at the Brewery.
I suggest making reservations on line ahead of time.
Busy place.
Very well run. Very reasonable prices. We did the brewery tour. Great guide JD. He knew his topic. Humorous but not obnoxious. Can get quite loud but that’s just from the acoustics.
We did not eat there. Looked like typical bar fare.
We had been there 10 years ago & they really dressed the place up.
Street parking available.

Fun Tour. Don’t Be So Uptight!

By Jim S |

We went on the tour yesterday afternoon. I am not sure if we just had a really lively group that interacted well with our tour guide or if he was just on point yesterday, but job well done! This is a brewery tour with an adult audience in mind. Just relax, have several beers and laugh with your friends and family. It is good for the soul!

Thanks Lakefront for an enjoyable tour and some really well done craft beer!

Flights of beer

By Travelmoorenow |

We tried several beers on our flights. We also had brewery chips.
Service was average but the atmosphere was great!

Great tour and AWESOME FOOD!

By Figueroa C |

We recently visited the brewery while spending the weekend in Milwaukee. This place was highly recommended online and noted it said kid friendly so felt it was ok to bring our 8 yr old. Purchased tickets in advance which was a good idea as our afternoon tour was full. Great amount of beer samples were given and enjoyed the tour! Especially learning about the Laverne & Shirley history part. Now let’s talk about the food! After the tour we decided to order a sampling of what they offered and everything was amazing. Sausage flight the polish was our favorite, fries with beer cheese, beer bread, Mac n cheese and cheese curds!! We loved it! Also beautiful area to sit outside by the water and inside large tables to sit at. Great experience we highly recommend it if you’re in Milwaukee.

fun venue

By Jpshorewood |

Great fish fry. a milwaukee staple .iin this day& age i was appalled to see how much trash they created serving meals plastic cups for water, soft drinks served in plastic cups, paper napkins. shame on them! fun place, live oompah band who knew there are stiill accordian players!

A Must Stop Brewery

By Beatthedrum |

If looking for a great brewery stop for a Milwaukee area beer, this is the place. Great brewery vibe & atmosphere, outstanding beer choices, and solid selection of food. Their cheese curd specials the best. Staff friendly and prompt service. Not at all disappointed and will be back.

Cheese Curds! Incredible!

By Nicole B |

Honestly - I'd go back to Milwaukee just for these cheese curds (& the garlic ranch!). They were so delicious!

Lakefront Brewery

By JASFoodie |

My cousin and her husband live near Lakefront and took us there for lunch. Great atmosphere, good food, and fantastic beers!

Excellent

By JSK531 |

First the brewery is a repurposed building overlooking the water. So an excellent location to start your visit. The atmosphere is great both fun and relaxing. The fried cheese curds were tasty. We had a flight of five beers. They were all excellent. Both my wife and I had a truly enjoyable experience.

Fun Brewery Tour

By Nancy G |

I think this brewery does a nice job. The tour was well organized, although there always has to be a drunk or two that are obnoxious. For a small fee, you receive the tour, 4 drink tokens and a souvenir glass. The original Schlitz bottling line is at the end of the tour (the one featured in the opening sequence for Laverne & Shirley), so it was fun to see that and we all sang a few lines of the opening theme song. There's a restaurant on site and I thought the food was good. Overall, it's a fun way to spend a few hours in Milwaukee.

A must place to stop

By Timothy M |

Jennie made the entire trip super. She is 28 and a Science teacher and when she gives a tour, she makes it so much fun, it is unreal. IF your hungry try their food, AWESOME, the beer is also great. And make sure you take the tour.

Great fun

By CHERYL P |

This was such a fun tour with plenty of beer tasting opportunities. The beer hall also had great food. Best cheese curds in Milwaukee and you must try the pretzel and dips.

Vegan Fish Fry! Thank you for offering, but it needs a bit of work.

By russianwulfgar |

We specifically went because they offer a Vegan Fish Fry! The vegan coleslaw and vegan tartar sauce were terrific, the hand-made fish fry not so much. I don't want to give them a knock because they are doing a wonderful thing by even offering a vegan fish fry - most places don't have the guts to do so. The batter was tasty, but the interior texture needs work. It was a bit mushy and stringy. Flavor - FINE! Texture needs improvement, which I'm sure they can do and will do. I will keep coming back for the Vegan Fish Fry and tell all my vegan compadres to do the same. And the Beersicle beer was delicious!

Great tour!

By familytraveler812 |

Our tour guide Greta was awesome. Enjoyed the whole tour - samples- fun facts. Great time - tasty brews.

Really?

By JDLipps |

So after hearing several great reviews of this brewery tour, my wife and I took our daughter and her husband today. Our tour guide was Brett. I would say this about Brett - I believe he holds to the motto that you can’t drink all day unless you start in the morning.

About the tour - the first part of it, his monologue was unintelligible. As the tour progressed, it got worse. I guess I’ll say this - if your idea of a great tour guide is vulgarity, sexual innuendo and drug references, Brett is your guy.

Positives - Lakefront makes some great beers, and it’s only $11 per ticket on the weekend.

Honestly, I’m no prude, but this guy was classless.

Good beer, short tour

By travelingal |

I have been on many beer tours and this one was quite unique. Tour guide was full of off color jokes (some were a bit too sexual) and the actual beer making process was summarized a lot. Beer choices were excellent. It was very crowded and the food line was very long if if you wanted something to eat after the tour.

Great beer, great meal!

By cmw133 |

We enjoyed our visit. My husband had the big pretzel and we both had the hazy IPA. Our server was really friendly and kind. I liked the German beer hall atmosphere on the river. They had the long tables divided with partitions due to covid and also told us there was a one hour time limit, which was a bit of a bummer. I would definitely return, though!

Curds and Beer

By Michael J |

Can’t go wrong with any of the beer selection. Must try the fried curds. Pretzel was an excellent choice as well.

Never been on a better brewery tour!

By Tim L |

The sign up for the tour online was super easy and presenting the ticket on my phone worked well. Adam, the tour guide, was ridiculously entertaining and hilarious! The time on the tour flew by! Also, the volume of beer for consumption before, during, and after the tour was quite generous! I will for sure be coming back for more tours in the future!

Ben is greatest tour guide I have ever had

By Joey M |

Did the brewery tour which was pretty cool (standard brewery tour) but the thing that made it incredible was the tour guide, Ben. He made a lot of funny jokes and pop culture references that we all liked and the beer was great. Worth a stop if you are in Milwaukee

very cool location, interesting building architecture,

By cher F |

typical bar food, not that healthy or for vegans but decent. The beer is good for average IPA drinkers, hard core craft beer drinkers may not find a decent beer here but its worth giving them business and checking the place out.

Beer food and fun.

By Ujamaatravel |

Great tour. Combines history and comedy with fun and drinking beer. What more can you ask for. Love the tour guide Greg. Not really a micro brewery beer lover but tried a variety. The have gluten free beer too. All in all a nice afternoon of fun. Try out the dinner or lunch also.

Husband’s Birthday

By Jennifer H |

We went here for my husband’s birthday. We did a tour and our tour guide Rebeca was awesome! The beer and the food was wonderful.

Great weekend fun!!!!

By Ro G |

Great priced brewery! Fun tour and great beers! Try the fried cheese curds, had a blast. It is right on the river and kayaks an pontoons pull right up to the brewery.

A Party Favorite for Any Occasion

By Steph VDB |

I've been here loads of times and always have a great time. Best brewery tour I've ever been on (all 6 times I've done it) compared to the dozens I've been on elsewhere. The staff is informative, funny and you get a better bang for your buck. Best cheese curds and ranch sauce I have ever had in my life (and I travel for good cheese curds). The beer selection is always good - something for everyone, and it changes seasonally so it never gets old. If you like breweries, good brewery food, beer or milwaukee, highly recommend.

Great Value

By Loriis |

If you have ever been on a brewery tour, the process for brewing beer is about the same here as any other. However, this tour includes four tokens for half pints, and the tour takes a break halfway through to allow for a beer refill. For $16, we each had four half pints (generously poured), a pint glass, and a coupon to enjoy their beer at one of several locations in Milwaukee. The beer was good, and we had the amazing cheese curds after the tour. I would definitely do this again!

Fantastic Tour!

By ElConquistador000 |

We have toured many breweries (one of our hobbies) and this was one of the best ones we've toured. Our tour guide was Brian and he was fantastic. Great history of the brewery and he really made the tour fun. The beer is great and you get four six ounce pours with the tour and a free pint glass. We didn't eat there but the food looked awesome!

Piece of tv history GONE.

By dsj019 |

Took this tour today, 8/2/23. Parking is up and down the street if you cannot find a space in the limited lot. Apparently if you have a Kia or Hyundai, these are high theft items in this area. I do not (have a Jeep), this made me question the safety of my vehicle and the contents in the street, which it turned out fine, no one bothered it. We did not book online and were able to get on the next hours tour. I felt this was a generous tour, you get four generous half pours of the beer of your choosing (can have before, during and after the tour) and receive a free pint glass or bottle opener with your wrist band. The tour was $12 per person. We tasted the cheese curds and enjoyed some beer while waiting for the tour. Curds were good and the beer was fresh and cold! Now for the actual tour. We stood in a warm room with a window that showed the brewing room. Our guide thoroughly walked us through the process and was very humorous through the tour. We walked down the steps and into a loading area where we learned about the bottling process. We had watched several videos on YouTube before coming and this tour WAS NOT the same tours others have experienced. We were really disappointed to learn that they had sold a piece of Milwaukee history AND it’s not even in Milwaukee anymore (shame on you Lakefront for not keeping that treasure local - but money talks, I suppose), the bottling line from Laverne and Shirley (old Schlitz factory) is now in Mexico City, this was something we were really looking forward to seeing. We did sing the song with the group, which was fun.

Nice place to unwind with a brew, a brat, and cheese curds (of course).

By Jay J |

We had a reception at the Lake Front Brewery during a business conference. The setting is nice. The back deck has a nice view of the Milwaukee River. The food was good and the beer great.

Not bad brewery

By EhhhSteve |

Came about 30-45mins after they opened. Few people already was on a tour. Came for some lunch, had a flight of sausage (choose how many flights and what kind of sausage you want). Add a pretzel roll to make it a bun. Everything was good including the roll. Liked the saute onions on the brat i got. Went and got some half pours instead of a flight. Lakefront Lager was the 1st choice. Not too bad lots of flavor for a lager.
Lots of table and room inside. Was however fairly empty being it was during the week and early lunch. Need to order and pay at the counter then take your number to your seat. Thought you could table order and look at a menu but its on the board and in the corner area so when you walk in you'll walk right by the counter to order food.

Fantastic

By Erin12 |

We had Max for our tour guide! Laughs all the way! I know what goes into making beer but he shared it in an hilarious way! Food was great; beer was better especially Eastside Dark Lager! You get about 4 6 ounce glasses with your tour price and a free pint glass and free drink voucher when you finish!

Great Tour and Beer

By Jason D |

This was a great stop and great beer. Lots of Sampling and a souenior glass. The tour was really fun. Not your standard beer tour. The guide was animated and so much fun. She was big part that make it great. You can tell she loves here job and was able to pour that out to all of us. Great fun and then you gotta get their Cheese Curds, one of best in MKE

Great tour - for adults ( and older kids)

By N R |

This was our 4th tour of the day with our 4 boys (ages 6-15). They have been on many tours of historic sites, factories and breweries. Although the enjoyed the tour there was some language that was inappropriate for younger kids and much of the tour was loud and a little much for the younger boys.
Overall the tour was really good and perfect for those trying to learn a little about beer making and Milwaukee history.
Afterwards, the beer and the food were both great.

Fun Time

By Tesh |

We were visiting Milwaukee for a conference and made a trip to this cool brewery! Glad we did! Great location on the water with great beer!

Usually Lakefront is Great. Depends on the guide. Avoid JD

By robertleroy |

I have been on many lakefront brewery tours. Usually the guides are funny and engage with the group. This time our guide JD was not funny, not engaging and clearly not in the mood for a Saturday afternoon brewery tour. Sorry we caused him and Lakefront so much trouble with our patronage

PROST!

By Johnny Trekkie |

The best brewery out of the 5 we visited in Milwaukee. Right on Milwaukee River, this brewery has an amazing riverfront patio complete with a lovely view on a bright sunny day. The main building is an expansive beer hall, clean, simple, relaxed and inviting. Having been to the real Oktoberfest three times, this ambience almost take me back to Munich Germany, almost!

Unlike Oktoberfest, rather just one lager, you can choose over 20 different kinds of beer of all kinds...lager, pilsner, ales, IPAs, stouts...yes please! The food is delicious as well, and affordable! The sausages and cheese curds were great! 2 Sausages of Polish and Bratwurst and a pretzel bun costs only $11. $10 Basket of Cheese Curds was crispy, chewy, cheesy and delicious. Costs might lower due to this being a order at the counter and take a number setup, rather than a full waitstaff.

Enjoyable tour. Learn about lakefront and beer while tasting

By FreeFrolick |

Went 4:00 on a Monday for the tour with the owner. Good explanation of their process along with some funny moments. Kids get bored but that’s typical for teenagers since not hands on. Good beer. Lot of variety and 4 good sized tastings plus a glass to keep. Food available as well. Would recommend.

Great tour and restaurant

By NormLWat |

Take the brewery tour to learn about their brewery process and see the equipment used. Tour ends with samples in the bar. While there stay for a bite in their open seating dining area. Good gift shop if you are looking for barware.

Entertaining tour, lots of samples

By Bruna F |

Lakefront Brewery seemed pretty popular judging by all the people and cars we saw when we arrived for lunch on a Saturday! That was a good sign! Parking was a little problematic but we got a close spot with a little luck. We opted for the tour that included samples of our choice of beer and a beer glass, too. Jamie led the tour and made it entertaining and interesting. They have a large room to find a table and a seat to enjoy sampling various beers. They have a variety of food options as well. We had the hot pretzels and the cheese curds. Loved the cheese curds!

Good beer

By Jerry B |

As far as the products go, I liked several of their brews. The tour was mostly about the orgins of beer and how Lakefront came to be. some description of how beer is made and very quick tour of the facilities. Tour guide was funny.

Ein Prosit !

By FiveGsplus9 |

This is the brewery tour to take when in Milwaukee. Fun, family style feeling that introduces you to their award winning “liquid bread” products. Very easy walk with samples along the way.
And the beer is worthy!

Lunch, a Tour, Then a Snack!

By Raymond L |

While staying in Chicago, we made a day trip up to Wisconsin. We had heard of the brewery while at Clock Shadow Cheese Factory (another fun place to visit) because they sell the brewery cheese curds. We headed over to the brewery for lunch. Our bartender allowed us to sample a few beers before making our choice, and for lunch we chose to have sausages.

After eating lunch outside, we realized we finished just in time for a brewery tour. For $8, you are treated to an informative and entertaining tour (our guide was Ian, and he was a blast!) and 4 tokens for free beers (you can get a beer prior to the tour, and get another during the tour, leaving 2 tokens!). We ended up getting another beer each and ordered fried cheese curds (they pair beautifully with beer).

We were then able to trade our plastic tour glass for two souvenir pint glasses and traded our two remaining tokens for maple root beer. We brought it back to our hotel in Chicago and drank it our last night. It was delicious!

Our brewery visit ended up being one of the highlights on our trip that passed through four states (Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin).

Ahhhhhmazing

By P & G S |

The absolute best brewery tour we’ve ever been on. Your guide was essentially King of tours. Tell Kevin we said hi. I would recommend this tour and brewery to anyone with a pulse.

Great Beer and Wednesday Trivia

By Kelly F |

Great beers and a fun tour. Try the cheese curds. They have trivia every Wednesday but you usually need to reserve a table in advance.

THE Best Tour

By Kiersten W |

My husband and I were visiting friends in Milwaukee, and they brought us to Lakefront, as they had been there many times before. They hadn't taken a tour before, so this was a first for all of us. My husband and I have gone on many distillery and brewery tours, but this was the best one yet. It could totally be tour guide dependent, and we had Ryan, but it made our day. He was HILARIOUS, informative, and so fun. I love that they encourage you to get a beer before the tour, and allow you an opportunity to fill up during the tour, it really helps that you're not trying to drink 4 or 5 beers all after the tour. So make sure to get there early enough to fill up at least once. And make sure to have time to stay after! The cheese curds were AMAZING. I actually don't drink a lot of beer in general, but I had 4 or 5 options that I really enjoyed drinking from Lakefront and immediately want to find out if they stock near me. We loved Lakefront so much that we actually came back the next day to have one last beer and lunch before we left Milwaukee. So Lakefront was impressionable enough for us to be one of the only restaurant we need on our visit.

Fun afternoon

By Craig V |

A great small brewery tour, the guides are very humorous making it a lot of fun. Plus the beer is very good. They have a beer hall that you can try their different beers.

Family friendly for adult children

By Amanda T |

The brewery tour was both educational and entertaining! I don’t recommend taking young children- it’s a lot of standing around and listening. They won’t understand the adult references and the content of the jokes is inappropriate for children. We took our 18 year old and it was entertaining for us. They offer a variety of beer flavors, many of which were very good. The atmosphere is comfortable and friendly. The view from the deck outside is really nice. The cheese curds were really delicious!! It was a bargain for a tour and the samples- it was about 4 hours of entertainment.

Best cheese curds ever!

By FarAway600544 |

We made the tour at 1:30pm on a cold, gloomy , wet Saturday between Xmas and NYE and we couldn’t have been happier! Our tour guide( forgive me for forgetting his name, but he’s a 4th grade teacher that’s in love with the brewery and everything it makes it so good) was a blast, lots of fun and a delight to watch.
The restaurant is delicious, we tried the fish fry, the tuna sandwich, the beers ( group of 12 people) and the cheese curds: hands down best I’ve had ! Everything is great and the environment is super friendly and family oriented too!

Loved this place

By bcspoon |

Loved this place. The tour was fun, and the beer was great. I would recommend this place to anyone. Had several different beers and they were all very good. My youngest had the house brewed Root Beer... and it was the best she had ever had!

Just keeps getting better

By Emilie P |

It’s been a few years since I was there. They have added a lot of new food (the cheese curds are still delicious) and some new beers. There’s a lot of outdoor sitting right by the river. The tour is still awesome!

Amazing Tour Guide

By montoya3030 |

Wow!!!! You get so much for your money. The tickets were 12 per person. You get 4 tokens + for beer. Our guide Kyle was very funny and knowledgeable. It’s was definitely one of the better beer tours I’ve been on. Afterwards we got to sit out by the lake and continue to enjoy more beer.

Awesome Atmosphere, Beers, Food and Tours

By Mark Lukasik |

Great Beers, Great Service at the Brewery. Awesome Pretzels as well.
Highly recommend stopping in for a beer, food and even a tour.

Popular brewery and bar

By Keenomanjaro |

We visited this brewery and bar a little too late to take the tour, so instead satisfied ourselves with a self-guided 'tour' of their beer taps, sampling a good selection of their brews as well as a nice bite to eat. I think we enjoyed all the beers we tried, with the Proper Porter probably ending up my favourite. The food was nice enough and we took our plates out to the small riverside seating area at the back of the byilding, which was a nice spot with good views upstream. There was an evening of Drag Queen Bingo going on when we arrived, so the place was packed and very lively, although it emptied out almost immediately once the bingo finished. I would imagine a brewery tour would round out a visit here nicely and it's a shame we missed that opportunity.

Great tour, tasty beer and food, fun atmosphere

By Chuck S |

Went on the brewery tour. Justin was our guide. He was EXCELLENT. He made the hour go by really fast and was hilarious. You get a pint glass and 4 free drinks to go along with the tour - so you are drinking while you are walking (plastic cups during the tour part). Lots of beers to choose from - the beers I tasted were true to their style, very tasty and smooth (IOW - on the softer, subtler side of the flavors - not overpowering). The beer hall-style restaurant was bustling with activity but not too loud. My wife and son said they thought the cod fish fry was very flavorful. I had a Bavarian sausage which was really. The french fries are well seasoned and the Curd of the Month special was Thanksgiving cheese curds. They had turkey gravy on top - not a ton - and cranberry sauce to dip them in. I’m not one to crave cheese curds but these were well worth it.

Nice Brew Pub

By Jennifer S |

We were too late booking the tour. But the beer was good the food unique. Service was a little unorganized, but adaption is the key to a great experience

Best brewery tour I've ever been on!

By Mimi Bennett |

Thus was the most entertaining brewery tour I've ever been on, and I've been on quite a few. For starters, they give you beer to drink before the tour even starts! And the beer is outstanding to say the least! The tour guide was very funny and we all had a great time, even my friends that don't drink, thoroughly enjoyed themselves! The food in the indoor beer garden was very good too! The pretzels and the cheese boards were exceptionally good, but even better was the cheese curds!

Top Picks for Brew Tours

By nadrojmars |

Lakefront is already one of Milwaukee’s most popular breweries and their beer isn’t the only reason. Besides having a great food menu and an open atmosphere with an outside river view patio, their brew tour is one thing you’ll want to experience if you decide to visit this gem of Milwaukee. The tour guide was slightly quirky and a lot of fun to listen to. Sliding in a little bit of adult humor with the history of the brewery and the techniques for brewing great beer. You also get 5 beer chips a ticket and they don’t stiff you on how much they give for each chip. Even without the great deal on the tour, the tour itself is one I return for.

Traditional brewery place, enjoy a beer with river view

By Juliana J |

Visited in July 2025.

Love the brewery history in Milwaukee and this is one of the most (if not the most) traditional place to go. Big place, have tables indoor and outdoor, you can also buy your drink and enjoy in the river side benchs.

Food is OK, bar type, cheese curds were really good (real cheese). They have tours inside the factory side but we didn’t do it.

It’s a must go considering Milwaukee once was the brewery capital of the world.

Lakefront Brewery's Wisconsin Cheese Curds were Awesome

By Tom W |

We were in Milwaukee for two days. The first day we tried to go to the Miller Brewery, but we couldn't find the visitor entrance. We had time the second day, so we came to the Lakefront Brewery.

It's a happening place in Milwaukee. I think even saw a wedding party at the brewery

The tour is around $11 and you get 4 beers and a Beer Pint. It's a good deal.

The tour is definitely geared towards adults. We didn't have a choice, but I wouldn't bring children if you can avoid it. We made it through half the tour. I wasn't a fan of the brewery tour. The tour guide was a little crude, and I didn't care for it.

I had the four beers, but I didn't care for any of them. You can tell the quality to the craft beer; however, I care more about taste. I know some people like all the craft beers, but it isn't my thing.

The food was pretty good. The Wisconsin Cheese Curds were awesome. The best I've ever had. I wasn't impressed with their Lobster Roll or Fish Tacos.

There is seating outside by the river. Fortunately, we found parking even on a busy weekend.

I would only recommend the Lakefront Brewery if you are into craft beers and you are with adults only group.

Black Friday beer release

By Betty Jean |

My husband and I get up early every post Thanksgiving Friday, bundle up, pack snacks and head down to Lakefront Brewery where we meet friends and get in line for the new release. We have a blast. The beer itself- Black Friday is always good. And I doubly recommend taking their brewery tour because the beer is tasty, the tour is informative, and the guides are hilarious! Five stars!

Tour, craft beer and curds. Oh my!

By Stephanie G |

My husband and I had a rare afternoon off and wanted to do something out of the ordinary. We headed downtown for the Friday 12pm brewery tour. We parked on the street with ease, during summer or nicer weather you might want to allow yourself more time as it will be busier.
We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door and checked in for the tour with ease. Note: we did purchase our tickets online.

We were immediately given our 4 beer tokens and explained how the tokens and tour works.
I started off with The Wendy which was amazing. 2nd beer was the Gole with lime which was refreshing. The tour started and they encourage you to have a full sample of beer as you begin.
Our tour host was JD and we found him funny and knowledgeable. The tour itself was chock full of history and the brewery background was fascinating.
It ended with myself as Laverne and another tour participant as Shirley as we put the glove on the bottle as it went around the conveyor belt. Super fun!
My husband and I also tried their root beer which is outstanding.
After the tour we used our remaining beer tokens and also ordered a basket of cheese curds. Now as locals we pride ourselves on being able to distinguish an excellent cheese curd from your ordinary bar curd.
Lakefront Brewery does them up right and you cant go wrong!! After 4 beers you may want a little food before you drive too.

Tour which gets you a little history, 4 - 6 Oz pours and a souvenir pint will cost you $11 on a weekend and it is well worth your time!

We bought a bottle of their root beer and my son not only enjoyed it immensely but declared it the best root beer he’s ever had!

Cool place and really good food

By Travel Mom |

We loved this place! The building itself is unique and charming. The cheese curds are TO DIE FOR. Interesting twists on traditional dishes. Try it!!!

A Bit Of Laverne and Shirley Memory

By RecreationV |

We wanted to check out a brewery, and memories of the TV show Laverne & Shirley prompted us to head here. The tour guide (Greg) was both entertaining and informative, making this one of the most fun tours we've done. We couldn't walk through the brewery itself, but there was a lot to see from a distance and through some large glass windows. A few jokes along the way and a finish with the whole group singing the theme song (as a tribute) to Laverne & Shirley made this a most memorable tour. Then off to get a couple of beers (or non-alcoholic soda) which is included in the tour price. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Brews for the weekend!

By Dudeks |

We stayed at the Brewhouse inn, and did the Best brewery tour, and lakefront brewery tour. Both were very good. We loved the comedic vibe of the brewery tour.

Great tour!

By likes-to-plan |

My son and his girlfriend took my husband and I here. Had some good beer and a great tour! Our tour guide was very upbeat and knew his stuff. Got a lot of crowd interaction! We didn’t eat anything, so can’t comment on that. Would recommend this place. Parking stinks though!

Plenty of beer...

By Mark D |

Katy was our tour guide and she was hilarious!!! They take you through the process of brewing beer from start to finish. Along the way you get to sample different types of beer. At the end we ate at the restaurant and the food was great, especially the cheese curds. I had never heard of fried cheese curds. We fry everything in Texas, but this was a new one on me. They were great. We liked them so much, we bought more at other restaurants in Milwaukee. Also military members get a discount on tickets.

Excellent Curds, Beer and Walk to Up-Down

By TACLYO |

I went here for the cheese curds after hearing they are some of the best...and they really were. Later, I found out the curds themselves are made at Clock Shadow Creamery, which is the only creamery inside Milwaukee which I also toured the next day. They squeak just like they're supposed to!
Also, they had a gluten free "Gose" that was recommended to me not because it was gluten free, but that it was the closest they had to a cider. It wasn't quite like a beer, but also not quite like a cider and it was delicious! I've actually been talking about it.

Lastly, from Lakefront, it's a short walk over (under) the bridge to Up-Down, a great arcade bar which was a great compliment to the gose and cheese curds. A bonus to this is the walk across the river is a picturesque bridge that runs under the highway. Great for a photo.

Not for the kids but well worth the time

By AverageJoe55 |

Ben was our guide and he was awesome! Given the language this is not a tour for kids. That being said, it was a blast. The two beers they provide on the tour along with the history and humor make it a really fun tour. Well worth the time!

Unlike any other brewery tour

By Bubbie |

Lakefront brewery is sort of hidden away but really a hopping fun beer hall with an informative and humorous tour. You not only get tokens for 4 6oz beers to sample but you also get a history of this newer eco-friendly brewery. Tour with a brew master who is fun as well as informative about the art of brewing. After the tour stick around to use the rest of your tokens and check out the cheese curds... amazing!

Food and Beer

By alisone97 |

Visited here while touring the Great Lakes. Very good food and beer. Clean. Friendly service. Off the beaten path but worth the trip.

She said it looked HUGE, She was right!

By John S |

The Lakefront Brewery is really a gem! The beer hall is as "typical" as you can imagine and the crowd is loud and fun. There are tons of beer choices and they are all delicious.
We all had a great time.
PS the Polish sausage my wife had filled her up perfectly. She left VERY satisfied.

Not My Gig, But.....

By ntflady |

If I've seen one brewery, I've seen ten; however, it was on our tour of the area, so I went. I don't even drink beer but they had a fabulous light colored root beer. The reason I felt that this was worth my time was the funny narrator who took us on the tour. He was not only funny but quite interesting too; and how can you not love an Irishman who loves beer.

Flavorful traditional dishes

By xcschlr |

We had lunch here on a Saturday and found the food to be good for what it is. Most of the dishes can be characterized as traditional, relying in good part on the salt-sugar-fat trifecta for taste. For instance, the fish in the taco that I ordered was deep fried rather than grilled, and the sausage dish that I considered also presumably had a lot of fat and salt. In the meantime, there are healthier options such as Caesar Rocket Salad with mozzarella pearls and fresh vegetables. Overall, this is a good place to try traditional Wisconsin food, as it seems to use fresh ingredients and offer flavorful dishes.

Great night

By Nicole |

Friendly bartenders who helped us figure out what we wanted in our flights and new info about the decor (for instance - the cool light fixtures my friend pointed out came out of an old hotel in the area). Great tasting beer (not something I normally say) and good, traditional bar food.

Fried Cheese Curds for the WIN!!

By AJVV24 |

Beautiful building and location!
We had to wait in a couple lines, but we also went at 6pm on a Saturday night. It was a fun enjoyable atmosphere and good service. Delicious food and fantastic beer!
What else could you want while visiting Wisconsin?! Their fried cheese curds!!! 😋

Never disappoints!

By Kyla |

Came with a large group for a tour and a fish fry after. I’m not a beer drinker and still love it every time! Their food is some of the best, if not the very best, around. The service, including tour guides, is always great. Only down side was it was winter break so it was super busy, with long waits. Oh darn, we will have to come back to spend all of the tokens.

Korean ribs and cheese curds were the best!

By Lhedges2 |

Ribs were Finger lickin look, lil spicy but so flavorful. Cheese curds very good as well. We got our order to go and it took abt 25 min

Just Plain Fun!

By Lovetotravel5903 |

This is a great brewery to tour. My wife and I actually walked to it from downtown Milwaukee. Great atmosphere and well worth the time to visit. The food was good too!

Great Family friendly Brewery!

By TennisgalGreenBay_WI |

Went with a 2 year old and 8 mo. old and 6 adults. There is a nice outside area to wait while a table is available inside. We didn't wait long. Band playing Polka music inside was fun. The walleye was good, as well as the French fries. The kids had fun and the adults as well. Our server was very friendly and attentive.

A great Milwaukee experience.

By Marc W |

We did the tour on a busy Saturday evening. The guide was fun and knowledgeable. It was a full tour through the brewery and he explained the brewing process as well as the story of the founding of the brewery at the beginning of the craft beer craze. With your ticket you get 4 beer tokens you can use while you wait for the tour to start and after. ask for your beer in a plastic cup…you get a bigger pour). There is a stop during the tour where you get to use a token also. There were no disappointments with the beers. After the tour we stayed for dinner in the brew hall and enjoyed a great basket of cheese curds (large nuggets!) and some good fish and chips.

Fun tour

By AndiamoAMagna |

We had Kyle as our tour guide, and he was fantastic! Lots of energy and fun. On tour, you get to walk through the distillery, but not see much. They explain the beer making process. You’re given 4 tokens which allows you to drink 4 cups of beers. They have approx 8-10 beers on tap. Food was relatively good, casual dining. Fish fry is a good option. Outdoor dining is on the river.

Excellent tour

By kakroo |

Our first trip to the brewery was good fun. We had a real good time on the brewery tour, and I would recommend it for first time visitors to Milwaukee. The beers at the venue are really good.

Great tour and awesome value

By kaceykam |

I can’t recommend this tour enough. You get generous beer tastings and an incredibly entertaining tour. The beer is great and for $15 you more than get your money’s worth - four tastings plus a souvenir pint glass and a coupon for a free pint at a local restaurant. Justin was a fantastic guide - so funny! Location on the river is also great. A great time was had by all!

Great couple of hours

By Darren J |

This is a must if you are in Milwaukee. Super friendly staff and guides, and most importantly, tasty beer!! Where else can you enjoy a crisp lager whilst being educated…

Must go to

By sluggr99 |

Such a great atmosphere. Staff was friendly. They had little greenhouse like huts in the back for the chilly day. Which was cool. We just tried the cheese curds which were fabulous. Beers were just as fabulous

Great Food...wish we'd taken the tour!

By Carrie D. |

We loved our visit to Lakefront Brewery. We came for a late lunch on a Sunday and the food was amazing. We loved the set up, like a classic beer hall that was loud and boisterous and fun!

We shared the cheese curds, which we had heard were locally sourced and they were awesome--they came with a really good dipping sauce.

For my lunch I had the buffalo chicken mac n' cheese (without the jalapenos). It was absolutely amazing--some of the best I've ever had. The cheese was creamy and rich and the buffalo sauce had just the right amount of flavor and heat. I also tried the loaded baked potato soup and it was also really good.

We didn't know that they offered a tour, so we didn't take one, but we kind of wish that we had!

Do the Lakefront Brewery Tour!!!! It’s GREAT!

By Jill E |

We did the Lakefront Brewery tour first and then had dinner in the Beer Hall. The tour was a BLAST - 50 minutes of brewery history and FOUR beers included - PLUS, a free pint glass with their logo. At $13 per person, this tour was a GREAT value. Our tour guide Chad was quick-witted and knowledge. It’s a laid back good time with lots of interaction with the guide and other tour guests. The Beer Hall features a large selection of pub food. We had a classic flatbread and Philly cheesesteak sandwich. Both were served quickly and piping hot by a friendly server. We really enjoyed our time at the Lakefront Brewery, and will definitely return if we’re in Milwaukee again. Best $13 you’ll spend here! 🍺😊🍺

Interesting Beers

By mjcor |

This microbrewery is somewhat on steroids and trying to find its identity. Hardcore brewery, or hardcore eatery. The bulk of the visitor space is a large restaurant with a decent-sized menu. The vistor store is kind of an afterthought to buy tickets for a tour and collect a souvenir glass at the end.

The brewery tour consists of a room overlooking the kettles and listening to tall stories told with the aide of old and torn posters. In defense, you are given tokens to taste a variety of beers - including their gluten-free beer. Give the pumkin-flavored brew a miss.

Then it is off to the dispatch area to watch folks loading pallets and trying to hear the guide explain things over the noise of folklifts. Back to the restaurant area to buy food and squander the remaining tokens at the bar. A bit of an anti-climax for us.

Fun Tour and Good Curds!

By LucyLeo50 |

We had a great tour with our guide JD. He was funny and knowledgeable! The tour lasts 50 minutes and goes by quickly as you learn about brewing, Milwaukee and local trivia. Afterwards, you can sample more beer and enjoy the award winning cheese curds.
There’s a nice little gift shop and you get to take home a Lakefront beer glass as a souvenir.

Come for curds & pretzels.. stay for the bier!

By Frederick S |

Take the tour, drink the beer, just enjoy!
Return worthy? Bet on it.. recommend it! Seriously, the cheese curds are fantastic the beer selection is excellent, and the 45 minute tour.. well, it's an experience!

Good beer, and food looked good too, though I didn't have any. Large indoor seating area as well as seating along the water.

Fun Visit and Gluten-Free Beer

Living gluten-free with Celiac's Disease finding good beer can be a challenge. Lakefront Brewery makes the BEST GF beer so we had to take this tour when visiting Milwaukee. The tour guide was fun and informative. Tickets should be purchased in advance as they do sell out. But, there are several tour times available. You get 4-tokens to sample beer so for someone not drinking GF beer the choices are plentiful! For GF beer they will open a fresh bottle and there are 2-flavors to choose from. Tour took about 45-minutes and you receive a beer glass at the end when you turn in your tasting cup to be recycled. They also have a restaurant that was packed and the food smelled good but we did not eat here. The brewery is on the Riverwalk.

Good atmosphere, fun tour, awesome beer!

By Carlee L |

I went with a few friends to do their brewery tour. Our tour guide Greta was great! They throw in comedy to their tours which makes learning about beer brewing fun. You get 4 beer tokens that will get you 4 8oz beers. And at the end you can trade in your plastic cup for a pint glass! I would reccomend this place to anyone looking for a chill, fun time on the river.

Great Experience

By Whitney K |

Just visited this brewery for the first time, and really enjoyed it! The brewery tour is a must-do in my opinion. It added a lot to the experience, and I’m glad we decided to do it. We got tokens when we signed up, which we could trade in for beers, and a refillable cup that we could trade in for a pint glass after the tour. The tour guide was hilarious! He made it all worth while and really had us all laughing and enjoying ourselves. The pumpkin beer was my favorite! Glad we went here.

Must see

By Samantha |

Great place to sit outside along the water and drink a few! Employees were very nice & they had their own beer or some wine.

Great time

By cindym82 |

Brian our tour guide was a real riot. Had a lot of fun hanging around in the beer hall and outside on the patio. Their beers are top notch, and for the price it can't be beat. Tried the cheese curds and they were delicious. Will come back if in the area again.

Beer.

By Trent W |

We visited the brewery for a tour and stayed for Drag Bingo. For only $10 we had a fun tour and four tastings which was great value. The food delicious and the bingo made for an entertaining night. Would recommend.

OH MY Cheesecurds...

By Adriana M |

This place is really fun. The beer was delicious. We did not take a tour as we were limited on time but they had them running pretty frequently while we were there. The outdoor space is really great, right on the water with lots of space for everyone. They had a food truck there where ordered cheese curds and honestly they were so so good. Could have stayed here all day and hung out because the atmosphere is very welcoming.

Fun with our top tour guide Ben

By TheHeatherGoldsmith |

This brewery tour is best in class! Go if you are visiting Milwaukee. We walked from the train station along the lake front trail which took about 35 mins. You can also rent bikes and park them out front. The tour is brilliant value for money with a tour, 4 taster beers and a branded glass to take home included in the $11. Ben was a funny and knowledgeable tour guide.

Other highlights:
I love that the disposable glasses are compostable.
The brewery has a beautiful patio area and also serves food.

Fun and entertaining

By MiltonLisboaPortugal |

Fun tour but do not expect anything technical. It is mostly an entertaining tour with nice beer to be tasted.
We went on a Saturday and there was way too much people in our group.
The tour guide was really fun and seem to know about the brewery but the target of the regular tour is not a person that would like to know details.
For that apparently there is a technical tour which we were unable to go since we were only a couple of days in Millwaukee.
Still, it is fun, you taste good beer and it will give you a glimpse of the brewery. Would recommend this tour.

Best curds in town!

By Alexa N |

This is our second time driving up to come to lakefront brewery. The beer is really good and the cheese curds are out of this world. Always have an awesome tour guide for the brewery tour too! Katie rocks!!

Nice staff frustrating experience

By The Harlem Globetrotter |

I love a good brew pub and restaurant and this has what it takes to be excellent, but right now it is a terrible experience. I'm a restaurant manager and I totally understand what everyone is going through during this pandemic. But this is not how to run an establishment.

The dining hall is huge but it was mostly empty of customers. I to eat outside and that we would have to order out food and beverages as if it were to go order. When asked why we couldn't sit inside the manager (I guess) claimed that he only had one server. Well if that's the case you should get the bartender out from behind the bar and have her pick up some tables. I know she's the bartender but she's not busy at all.
We were told that if we wanted beer we would have to order a growler to go and then we could take it out back and drink it. The inside dining hall has about 20 taps and we could not get a pint of any of them and take it outside. There is an outside bartender but he only has five Taps and he cannot go inside and get us a beer. This is mind-bogglingly absurd. They said something about keeping everything separate. The poor bartender outside had nothing to do. He sat there twiddling his thumbs, not his fault not his fault. I asked him how come he couldn't wait tables but he didn't have a good answer for that I think that he wasn't trained yet as a server. In my mind now is the perfect time for him to train as a server.

To get to the outside patio you have to go out the front door and walk around the building or go to the back to the dining hall and walk down the stairs to the patio next to the river. Heaven help you if you have to go to the bathroom because you can't go in the way you came out you've got to walk all the way around the building and come back in through the main entrance. If you have to go with little children to the bathroom it can be a bit daunting.

Other than that, the Lakefront Brewery has a really nice dining room with a stage for live music.the bathrooms are attractive with vintage advertisement hanging in frames. The gift shop is also nice kind of pricey but it has great Lakefront Brewery souvenirs.

Unfortunately I can't say too much about the food. It's hard to give a good review when the food comes out in boxes. It has all your traditional favorites you can get burgers french fries cheese curds poutine chicken strips mac and cheese. There's nothing unusual or inventive about the menu it's just very very mediocre. I feel that the portions were small because was all put in to go containers. I feel that if you were eating inside with real plates the portions would have been bigger. Very disappointing for the amount of money that you spend. Again the size of macaroni and cheese tomato soup coleslaw we're all miniscule.

During this time of kovid I've eaten that many restaurants and have had wonderful experiences. Proper distancing properly trained staff great food and great service. The staff at the Lakefront Brewery are all nice but, this is not how you should run your business. I understand you're trying to limit your staff but when people are coming in to dine maybe you should have another Waiter on, DUH!! Maybe you should get the bartender out from behind the bar and pick up tables. Or maybe I should take my money somewhere else. On the way out I saw a group of 10 coming into the restaurant and I let them know what we've experienced they turned around, it's not what you want when you go dining.

So, would I go to the Lakefront Brewery again. My answer is yes once the pandemic is over, but if things continue the way they are at the lakefront I would never step foot in there again

Disorganized, but food very good.

By American Eskimo |

Food great. Had to stand in line to order & pay for food, then had to go to and wait in yet another line across the room just to order & pay for a soft drink and water. Another personal peeve: Please stop asking for minimum 15% tip before I’ve ever seen my food or some or server. “Server” dropped food at table and was never seen again.

Terrible tour

By Marina F |

I took the “tour” and it was completely disappointing as we were only shown 2 different rooms and didn’t really tour anywhere interesting. The worst part was the excessive number of awful jokes that gave me the feeling I was at a lousy stand-up comedy show. The beer is just ok.
Anyway, the tour is totally unnecessary.

Fantastic brewery tour with a very entertaining guide.

By Parkrunner71 |

The Lakefront Brewery tour is worth the admission fee based on entertainment value alone. But then factor in that you get four drink tokens to exchange for the excellent beers that Lakefront brew, plus the option of trading in your admission wrist band for a Lakefront beer glass or keyring and you realise you've got yourself an amazing deal.
Our tour guide (Jack) was so funny and engaging, and he visibly loves his job. And why wouldn't he, when he gets a chance to promote and enjoy the brewery and its beers he clearly loves.
Even if you don't do the tour it's well worth calling here as the venue, in its setting next next to the Milwaukee River, is vibrant and popular with the local community, including many families who enjoy the food and oompah band entertainment.
If you are visiting the area, be sure to stop off at the Lakefront Brewery. I'm sure you won't be disappointed and will have a great time.

JD Gives Great Tour

By AndyLube |

Such a cool place to take a brewery tour and throw back a couple of pints. All the staff was genuinely kind and engaged with the customer needs. I recommend the tour! Four 8 oz pours and a free souvenir glass!

Great tour and delicious brews

By Jill7890 |

Milwaukee is home to many breweries but this is one of my favorites! The tour is always a blast for new and returning visitors. They have their brews sold in stores throughout the greater Milwaukee area, but on tap is the best. They often have seasonal brews that are hometown favorites. best cheese curds by my vote!

Enjoyable Hour!

By Tracy |

Tony was a very knowledgeable and entertaining guide. We were very impressed with his information and humor!

Great food at reasonable prices.

By Jackie S |

We were looking for a place for dinner while traveling through Milwaukee and looked up restaurants that had been on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. We didn’t take the beer tour but the food was great. The guys loved the bratwurst sampler and the soft pretzels with a great cheese dip. The cheese curds were the best we’ve ever had!! It’s not fine dining but great pub food to enjoy with the beer.

Enjoyed outdoor seating

By mammalovescake |

We liked the atmosphere sitting outside on the water. The grilled cheese sandwich and beet salad were really good. The cheese curds are great! The sweet potato fries were a little under cooked for my liking. We wished that the brewery tour was still open. Kids said fish tacos and fish and chips were just ok.

Drink, laugh and learn

By LAUREN B |

This was hands down one of the best brewery tours we've ever done. Partially because you get to fill your cup with their very good craft beer before you start the tour, but mostly because of Matt. Matt was our guide to all things about Lakefront Brewery. Matt really knows his stuff about the Brewery, and has a wickedly twisted sense of humor. Be careful drinking beer when you are laughing that hard!

The Lakefront Brewery has several really good craft beers, and also makes an excellent root beer that I wish I could get back home. Great tour.

Awesome Tour

By Kerry1428 |

We were able to sneak away without kids to visit while in town. We took the the with Jake who was absolutely HYSTERICAL !!! He was knowledgeable, witty and just down right entertaining! The beer was awesome for the most part.... their beers with lime It them will definitely make your pucker 😝. Would totally recommend!

Great beer selection, something for everyone

By mississaugatravellor |

Great brewery with quite nice food. The atmosphere was busy, but not too loud. It was an open room with a seat your self policy. Guest share large tables, which have been sectioned off.

The staff were really friendly, the beer was really good and the food was decent. I had the fish tacos and they could have used a bit of spice or sauce, but tasted fresh and somewhat healthy (which is a good thing).

We visited on a warm day in December and the walk there was really nice. The highlight was the beer - there was nothing wrong with the food.

Bravo, Max

By Bob S |

The New York Times 36 Hours travel review citing this as the best travel experience in Milwaukee is understated. Fantastic selection of beers, great riverfront outdoor deck, but, most importantly, the best brewery tour imaginable. Make sure to ask for Max as your tour guide...great level of detail most importantly delivered with incredible wit and comedic timing. Here's to beer and to Max.

Great craft beer at a good price !

By gregbooras |

Visited last night with a few friends and overall we enjoyed our visit. We ordered 4 different beers and ($5.00 each) we thought they were spot on for the style.
For dinner we ordered the Reuben, Fried Fish and Grilled Sausage with a pretzel bun.

The fish was really good, it came with a spicy coleslaw. The Grilled Sausage and the pretzel bun was a hit. Now the Reuben, sorry very disappointing, very salty.

I we go back, we will stick with the fish and the sausages!
Greg

Awesome beer, awesome tour

By Alex B |

It’s gonna be tough for me to find a brewery tour that tops the one I took at Lakefront. My group’s tour guide (I don’t fully recall but think his name was Brett) gave us a crash course in the history of beer itself and kept us laughing throughout. It was cool to see the operation in their brewery, and the samples during the tour were an added perk. I think the tour lasted about 45 minutes; I went on a Thursday and paid only $9 for it, and although I booked my ticket online a month in advance, there was space for some walk-ups. I’d definitely recommend taking this tour if you like beer at all, because breweries are a big part of Milwaukee culture. Do yourself a favor and book in advance even if you don’t think it will be busy. The tours here are ranked among the best in the country, so you never know when they might fill up.

Amazing vibe - and make sure you take the tour!

By JNATravels |

We were visiting from London and absolutely loved this place, the beer and the overall vibe. The Beer Hall has such a great feeling about it and the food was really good (must have the cheese curds). The beer selection is really broad and there is a beer there for every type of beer fan. The tour was super fun, absolutely hilarious, and a great way to be introduced to the brewery and it's heritage. Absolutely recommend visiting this brewery!

Home Run!!

By Jim K |

This place has it all. The food is awesome and the beer is too. Nice friendly atmosphere and employees love their job. I had the fish platter with cheese curds and my friend had the Turkey melt and was pleased. Anything they walked past you while you were waiting looked Awesome. You won’t be sorry you went here.

A mainstay in Milwaukee

By WhatBucketList |

The price point of the brewery tour is very affordable and worth the time while you are in Milwaukee.

For a hour tour and a few beers at the end of the tour for $20, totally well worth your time and money.

Additionally the fried food (fish fry) is yummy.

Will and have returned when I come to Milwaukee.

Amazing location, great beer, hilarious guide!

By 13avivs |

My wife and I went on a Saturday afternoon tour with Treccy and it was incredible! Not only is she freaking hilarious, she's extremely knowledgeable and has great taste!
The tour lasted for about 45 minutes but it seemed to go by very quickly.
Before the tour you get 4 tokens to taste different types of beer which you can use before, during or after the tour, but when to exchange your plastic cup with a real one, you'll get another beer! 5 beers for the low price of a tour ($10)! That's crazy cheap!

The brewery is located on the river which makes it great to have a sip while sitting on the riverfront and relaxing (and grab a bite if their spicy cheese curds - delicious).

We'll definitely be back next time we're in Milwaukee!

Most entertaining tour we have ever been on.

By TourGuideWannabe |

We took the Lakefront Brewery tour (bought the tickets in advance) as the end point for us on the Milwaukee River Walk. I'm not sure it was a tour as much as it was a non-stop stand-up comedy routine for forty-five minutes. Our tour guide was an actor at night playing in a Shakespeare comedy (which explained why he looked like Jerry Colona), He is very talented and kept the whole group in stiches. Very entertaining. And by the way, lots of free beer comes with the tour. I thought the pumpkin beer was excellent.

Fantastic

By jvntpa |

This is a long time coming, I thought I closed out this review months ago...

We had a great time at Lakefront Brewery. Aside from tasting some absolutely fantastic beers, our tour guide (forget his name, sorry) was not just informative, but very entertaining. He had us all singing the theme song from Laverne and Shirley by the end of the tour. If you have a choice between the big breweries or Lakefront- go to Lakefront, and support small, local business. You'll be glad you did.

Horrible

By Leigh F |

“No reservations,? Well good luck” was what we were greeted with. Ok. Then we go to order beers outside. Only 5 selections really??!!! If I wanted mediocre and rudeness I would have gone to the gas station to buy beer. Do not waste your time, too many other good breweries to go to.

Tour is worth your time and money!

By Dazyz03 |

Wonderful experience!
The tour is definitely worth your time and money. You get 1 hour tour, 2full size beers, and a pint glass to take home. Sergio was our tour guide and tons of fun!
The patio made for an enjoyable experience on the river. Try the cheese curds, you won’t be disappointed.

Rainy Day Tour & Lunch

By Wendy S |

We'd been to Lakefront once before but couldn't go on the tour, so when we had an opening this trip we decided to go back. The tour was more entertaining and had better beer than Miller... plus they gave us pint glasses to take home.

Our lunch (Northwoods Salad, Cheese Curds, & Kelbasa w/Kraut) was great! We'll make this a regular stop when we come visit Wisconsin.

We'll be looking for Lakefront when we get home to Texas!

Fish Fry!

By aszekely |

If a beer hall with a Polka band is what you seek, look no farther. This is jam packed and full of life on Fridays. And, during the summer months the outside area near the river is a great place to sip a beer or two.

Huge place with great food!

By Nicole V |

The brewery even on a rainy day was amazing. We didn’t get to enjoy the lakefront view which was out of anyone’s hands because of the rain but the inside was huge so there was plenty of room for food and beers inside with the family!

The best brewery tour in milwaukee

By TBoz97 |

My husband and I went on this tour. We've been on about 2-3 other brewery tours in Milwaukee and this was by far the best. Our tour guide was fun and you can definitely tell that he loves what he does. He kept us entertained, educated, and our cups full of beer. I'm not a big beer drinker but I even found one that I enjoyed. After the tour, we finished our tasting on their riverfront patio. I highly recommend that you come and check out Lakefront Brewery.

Great Food Nice Atmosphere

By Mico Number Five |

I sat up at the bar had a great meal here. Upon the bartenders suggestion I went with the salmon which was fantastic. The place had a really nice atmosphere, the service was great and of course the beer was excellent.

Lakefront brewery

By John M |

Just been on the brewery tour, amazing experience. Friendly staff, the moment you walk through the door. Funny and engaging experience, difffently the highlight of my visit to Milwaukee.

Kinda a free tour

By DMenace |

Katie led a wonderfully comedic tour of the brewery. Everything you wanted to know about brewing and then some. It's actually a free tour because beer and a pint glass are included.

Fun and exciting tour

By Gladyb |

Very knowledgeable wait staff and many different types of beer on tap. You will enjoy the tour of the brewery. The tour person was excellent and very entertaining.

Fun experience & tasty beer

By Marlene |

A true beer hall experience year round. A variety of excellent beers, a fun atmosphere, entertaining tours & other interactive activities to make sipping a brewski or two a pleasant experience.

Brew

By RTR |

Wonderful tour of the facilities at a good price. Informative but also very fun! Free pints at end of tour and 4 tokens for drinks. Jaime was a great guide!

Best fried cheese curds

By txsooner2 |

Great experience and tasty food! A must do when in MKE! Fried cheese curds were the best we had, especially when dipped in their garlic ranch!

Cheesy and Fun

By Stephanie L |

While the tour itself was just so-so (a little too much request for audience participation) the beer was fantastic and I got to try lots of different beers. The food we tried afterwards was great, and the scenery along the waterfront was awesome.

Great beer, atmosphere, and food

By 171Scott |

What else is there right?

This place nails it out of the park with excellent service to go along with the above great food, beer, & atmosphere. I really liked the Mexican Ale which had a nice lime flavor. We had the Reuben and fish tacos which were full of flavor and the Brussels sprout were a nice side dish to provide some greens.

A Must, #IloveSergio

By James & Beth |

As breweries go, this one is on par. What set it off was the spectacular tour we got from Sergio. He was the most interesting tour guide yet. The beer is good, too. The cost of the tour comes with free beer, a souvenir, and a tour show. Before we leave town, we are going to stop in for a beer and a pretzel.

Untapped brewery tour

By Jennifer B |

Our guide was hilarious. Trip felt rushed but got a great souvenir glass. It was good beer and interesting history. Pretty location and definite brewery to hit up just wish we had more time there.

Good beer and food in an ideal setting

By ScottRoby |

This place is great. If you want to be served you only have the inside beer hall as an option which was a little disappointing considering it was an incredible day outside. They do have an option where you can order food at a counter but we opted to stay inside. Everything was delicious. It was a Friday so we had the fish fry. And as everyone told us, they are known to have the best cheese curds and that was definitely confirmed.

Enjoy your brew and watch the boats go by...

By Christina Z |

The view down by the river is a nice relaxing way to unwind. We had the Pilsner Lager while we sat at the river view patio in the back of the building. The beer was delicious and the view of the river and floating boats was really nice. It is so nice to see Milwaukee have such great beer river gardens. Loved it!

Lively atmosphere

By cincykeller |

We came in on a Friday night to have a few beers. We knew it was fish fry night and it would be crowded but didn’t anticipate standing room only. We weren’t put off by it though because the place has a fun vibe. Grabbed a beer and did some people watching. There was a polka band and lots of kids on the dance floor having fun.

Great patio, okay food

By Taylor N |

The brewery is really cool and a great location. We went for lunch and the food was good but average brewery type food, no complaints but nothing spectacular. The patio facing the river is the highlight and I could see it being a really fun place for a group. Overall a good time.

Fun tour

By Fearless646829 |

Fun tour! Cool brewery with good beer and food. Tour guide made the tour informative and fun. Easy walking distance from downtown Milwaukee.

Mini Beer Tour!

By Morgan |

We took the 30 minute beer tour with an awesome bartender (wish I remembered his name) who was a theater major and made our time a blast! For $4.50 we got to go on the tour, get a free pint glass and 4 6oz beer samples of our choice. Plus they had an awesome menu of which we tried the cheese curds and they were TOO DIE FOR😋

Rockstar Kris and Great IPA

By Timothy A |

We stopped by to take a few photos and take a tour while in town from ST Louis. Unfortunately the tours were booked and at odd times thanks to COVID. We did however meet a fantastic lady who worked there named Kris. She made us feel so welcome and took the most amazing care of us. She even opened the gift shop just for us to come in and purchase some items. Great IPA bottles for sale by the way. Kris even came out front with our group with a glove for us to take photos on over our bottles we purchased. She was amazing and made our whole trip thru Milwaukee worth while!!!! Kudos Kris, you were something else!!!! The world needs more folks like you!!!! If we are ever back in town ,we will be sure to plan better and experience the whole tour!!!!!!

Just visited the place and couldn’t help but reviewing it

By Ghaith Salameh |

Great place. With great vibes. The tour is amazing. It costs 9$ for a 4 beers and great introduction on the microbrewery. With a bit of history. These guys know what they are doing. The food is perfect. And the beer collection is great too. Much recommended if you are visiting Milwaukee.

Great Tour and Brewery

By V5015ZIchristinef |

We booked online and arrived early enough to enjoy some delicious cheese curds and drinks in the beer hall, a beautifully renovated building. The tour moved along quickly and offered lots of humor and chances to taste far more varieties of Lakefront than we have access to back home. We wish we'd had more time to order dinner afterward because every order we saw brought out looked amazing. Our tour guide, JD, was great!

Shouldn't feel uncomfortable when you go on a tour with your kids.

By Nan Rose |

Tour information was fun and informative but the jokes were definitely not family friendly. Really? Lack of judgement on the part of the tour guide.

Must visit when in town

By Nick Schwartz |

Impressive views of the river and charming vibes. I need to visit this place more often. Definitely a must see if you're ever in Milwaukee.

Great Brewery! Don’t miss out on the Tour!

By Andrea |

The tour was incredibly fun! JD was such a good tour leader. The tour included so much for the price, and the brewery food was excellent!

Not what it’s advertised

By rkar323 |

If you’re expecting a tour of the brewery, you’ll be disappointed. Our tour guide was very charismatic but the whole experience consisted of standing in one spot and listening to the guide talk. There are a lot of jokes/humor that are not family friendly, so not a good experience for the littles.
We stayed for some beers, a giant pretzel, and cheese curds and that was the best part of the experience. Make sure you spend some time on the outdoor patio by the river.

The bomb!

By OldDrone |

We had read of Lakefront’s Friday night fish fry and made a special trip to visit. We arrived about 6:00 and were told 30-45 minute wait, which we expected. The Yelp! app lets you see your progress in line (how many are ahead of you) and we were seated at a communal table in about 35 minutes.

We had the fish fry, which was excellent, and the food coming out for other tables looked pretty darned good, too. Service was great, and the polka “band” (two guys with on drums and an accordion) added to the fun. Convivial, delicious, and oh so Wisconsin,

Brewery tour and tasting

By NickC4661 |

Best $11 I ever spent.
4 tokens to sample a range of beers.
Well organised and informative tour giving the history and the factory side of the brewery.
Free commemorative pint glass.
Great way to spend a couple of hours.

Brewery Tour, Snacks and Beers

By KandB2009 |

Can’t beat the price for a couple hours of good entertainment and great beer. Scheduled the 2pm tour group online (best option to get the time you want). Group of twelve in my group. Our guide started us off right, along with every member of the group, beer in hand. Learned a little about beer and a lot about of the history and processes at the Lakefront brewery. Admission covers the tour and four healthy beer samples. Exchange your sample cup for a nice beer glass before you leave. Food is pretty good as well. Definitely give the fried cheese curds a try.

Date weekend in Milwaukee

By stmartie |

This was an easy drive from Chicago, and judging by the 20 other Chicagoans on the tour, I think they'd agree. I have been on more than my fair share of brewery tours, but this was hands down the funniest one I've ever been on. My wife and I couldn't stop laughing and smiling the entire time. Four 6oz pours of their brews are included in the tour, and they don't have a single bad brew on the list. I'd highly recommend a stop by for a tour and lunch.

Very Entertaining & Educational Tour

By George T |

Definitely recommend this tour. Choose from a number of micro-beers to taste. The fish fries are simply awesome.

Great beer great food!

By aviendha963 |

I was looking for something to do in Milwaukee this weekend and I stumbled across lakefront brewery. We took a tour of the brewery with JD who was absolutely amazing. He’s a fantastic ambassador for the brewery. we tried many beers and enjoyed each one. We also had lunch after the brewery tour. Fish fry, and bread amazing. The cheese curds were the best that we ever had! I highly recommend coming to Lakefront brewery be sure to
do the tour and stay for lunch. You will have a ball.

Fun tour

By Mary Beth K |

You get so many free drink chips on this tour that you might want to make sure you have some of their delicious food in your stomach before you start! The tour was informative and fun!

Top of the list for beer lovers when in Milwaukee

By MillsyTrotter |

This was a great spot to come with our teenage kids while in Milwaukee. Great space, amazing beer, veg and vegan-friendly menu, and tremendous sevice.

SO BUSY

By KC1329 |

This place was very overwhelming at first as there are soooo many people here. It was a hard choice with having small children and a larger group. Definitely would be easier with couples or date night.

With that being said, the outdoor area is fun, the beer was delicious, and the food was good. There was a local food bbq vendor outside as well that was very yummy.

Just know your group before heading to this place.

Free day

By Confuesd T |

Beer was great and tour was short but informative. Great place for lunch and hanging out with friends.

Loved the small town brewery feel and samples

By Food-A-neista |

The tour of this brewery was fun and entertaining. The maple syrup root beer tastes SO good if you don't want beer... and, we got to sing the theme song to Laverne and Shirley and it was awesome!

A Milwaukee must!

By Kyla |

By far the best brewery tour I have ever been on, and I don’t even drink/like beer! Our tour guide, Mikey, was out of this world, absolutely hilarious, and made the tour so much fun. We also had lunch, which was reasonably priced and delicious. In fact, they were the best cheese curds I’ve ever had. This was a favorite of mine for sure and would recommend to anybody, local or far!

Curds and beer!

By IRun2Eat |

I came for the beer and my son wanted the cheese curds. Neither disappointed! We are from the Philly area so we’ve never had a proper cheese curd and heard Lakefront had the best. My son loved buying cheese curds from the Curd Wagon and he absolutely loved them. The brewery is in a great location right on the river where we watched boats and kayakers go past.

Huge, fun spot for beer and bar food

By VeveK |

Fun to sit and watch the Polka band and enjoy some good beer. Get there early (4ish if its a Friday) and you must order food to get seated.

Delicious beer, fun tour

By Reviewsssss |

They know how to brew great beer! Funny, irreverent tour guide. Sit by the river after the tour and enjoy some delicious brews.
