Part of the adventure begans trying to locate this park. The Georgia Trails website helped. Then, there was about 5 miles of gravel road. Along that way, there were campground areas to pull off. We had a lovely lunch on the side of the creek. Then, we proceeded to find the falls. There are small signs that direct you, but they're not easy to see/find. Once you find out which trail to take, there are a couple trails you can visit along the way. The first one was a little more enjoyable - more intimate and quiet. The larger one was beautiful, but a couple things to note - pictures are more difficult because it's more populated and the rocks near the falls are very slippery. One of us (not me) slipped on his way getting under the waterfall. So, while it's accessible, be careful. We also ventured up the left side and crossed over near the top of the falls, which was a fun side adventure. No restroom facilities. Pet-friendly. Breathtaking and worth the journey! Enjoyable for the whole family.
That said, side note. Leave the same way you entered the park. We thought that the directions said the other side would have a shorter gravel road. Mistake! We got lost in what seemed to be a never ending road, with split offs that we were not confident about and came out of the forest on the other side. Quite a bit later than anticipated and on narrow gravel roads, with the possibility of large military/reserve vehicles trying to share the road.

Directions a little confusing but when we found it, it was a nice little hike to the waterfall (1/4 mile hike). Waterfall was smaller then you'd think but still a nice sight.

A short walk with a little bit of grade to waterfall. Drive want as bad as I expected from description. My granddaughter and I enjoyed the walk and sights.

very nice but rough ride dirt road to a nice place to picnic! expect a crowd in summer! the AT goes right by the falls so lots of hikers coming through

Calm quiet relaxing cool serene surrounded by nature water trees views. Enjoyed the rugged service road drive to the trail head.

My husband and I decided to hike long creek falls. We had to use the directions on the website and it took us about 55 min from downtown blue ridge but was well worth it!! The waterfall was beautiful and the hiking trail was amazing!!

One of the most beautiful places around. Make sure you go. Gorgeous and worth the drive and small hike.

Not a long hike, but you can pick up parts of the Benton McKay trail from here. Large and picturesque falls The approach to the falls is a bit rocky, so good footwear is a must. I'm always surprised to see people hiking in flip-flops. Would go back again.

The hike is not bad at all for such a beautiful and serene water fall! The drive is a bit much and you are on a long one car width gravel road for quite some time before you come to where you can park. Don't look for "Three Forks" on the gravel road as the three forks sign is seen once you are on the trail headed towards the falls!

The drive was a little rough but realized we approached the wrong way. The hike was fun, a little tough for two out of shape people. The falls were very pretty and totally worth it. The hike was about a mile but up hill and took about 2 hours round trip. Wish We would have went when the leaves were changing. A little more crowded than I would have liked.

Great place to home with kids. Easy to moderate terrain. Saw 3 different water falls. Saw places to tent camp. Driving in very very rough

Nice invigorating hike, 1 mile each way. Our family of 4 are at all different levels, so the two trail runners thought it was easy. The middle performer moved at a good pace and the slow one in the group huffed and puffed, but made it to the top where everyone enjoyed the view. One challenge was the drive getting there over 5 miles of gravel. Don’t go in a low riding car or you’ll be scraping the bottom.

The drive in was the hardest part! The trailhead is 5+ miles down a narrow gravel road with many hazards. Once we got to the trail it was an easy and scenic hike ending with a beautiful waterfall where the kids played in the creek. It’s 2 miles out and back and was no problem for us and our five and seven year olds. There’s a little incline on the way in but nothing strenuous.

Take your puppy!! Great hike for all ages easy to get to falls!
Delightful waterfall and very photogenic!

Long Creek Falls -- not to be confused with the Flat Creek Loop, as some reviewers have, which is in a totally different place -- is about 0.9 miles from the Three Forks trailhead on a segment of trail shared by the Appalacihan and Benton MacKay Trails. The long (about 7 miles from the turnoff on Doublehead Gap Road) drive along the forest road is spectacularly beautiful (and actually passes a very lovely, very had to reach falls along the way). Many campsites and many campers use the area along beautiful Noontootla Creek. If the short and easy 2 miles to the falls and back isn't enough, try hiking the loop made by the AT and BMT on the other side of the road, hiking toward Springer mountain on the AT and returning along the BMT. No waterfall, but lovely forest, about a 5 mile loop -- gets steep as you go up, but still only moderate hike.

Five stars for Forest Service Road 58! Beautiful Noontootla along the way. Are you in a hurry? Or are you on vacation and on your way to see a breathtaking waterfall? Reading the reviews, we were prepared for the worst. It was no problem for our Tahoe. The road to our cabin in Blue Ridge is worse and it's still great! We packed water and snacks, followed google maps to Doublegap Road, and then made our way up 5.3 miles of the finest mountain access road we've ever been on. I don't know how long it took us because we we're so distracted by the beauty of the area. The hike to the falls was comfortable and easy. We had our sons ages 4 and 8 and our 12 year old dog. Our little one rode on Daddy's shoulders on the return leg. What a fun day for our family! We can't wait to go back to find a spot to camp on the Noontootla.

We had information from the Fannin County Visitors' Bureau that gave us gps coordinates, so we knew right where the trailhead was. It is a long drive on a bad road, but it's beautiful, if you go slow enough to take a look around. The trail was easy, though I'm in bad enough shape that I had to stop and catch my breath a couple of times. The whole thing was just beautiful, and the morning was perfect-- temp of about 69 degrees kept us cool. The falls themselves were beautiful and well worth the hike. We saw a garter snake, a skink, a millipede, and many other interesting flora and fauna. After we hiked up and back, we sat on a log by the stream and ate our picnic lunch. Idyllic!
Best advice: get the Fannin County driving tours printed out-- they will be a big help!

Beautiful drive with plenty of areas to stop along the way, the falls are about a 1.5 mile hike from the road/parking area. The hike itself was an easy incline, with well marked paths, leading to the falls. Yes, the road is mostly dirt/gravel the last few miles but hey....your in the mountains, man!

My husband and I love to hike, and are trying to section-hike the Appalachian Trail. We only had a few hours before a wedding, and this was the perfect place to spend it on a quick, short hike on the AT. The drive there was full of winding roads, but the views were great! I would say it might be a tough drive to make in a smaller car. We drove a Jeep, and noticed a lot of similar cars and trucks, no small ones. We enjoyed the hike, as did some of our family who aren't really hikers. We noticed quite a few places to camp in the area, as well. At first, we were the only ones on the trail, but then we saw a family and a group of hikers of all ages. There wasn't really a parking area-we had to park on the side of the roadway, but there was no charge. It was a pleasant trip, and the falls were worth the hike!

You don't have to hike the the Appalachian Trail to enjoy these falls. You can get to the foot of the 2 mile hike by car. These falls are definitely a hidden gem. The hike is easy and beautiful and appropriate for all ages. Remember -- Leave No Trace, Stay Safe and Return Home!

The trek to the trailhead was scenic. Travelers should be prepared for a rugged, slow climb up the gravel road. It would have been really rough in a small vehicle. The home is manageable for all ages and abilities. Look forward to going back in the fall.

We hiked to Long Creek last year - well worth the trek to get there! The falls are beautiful especially in the fall when the leaves are turning.

Re: road - higher clearance vehicles will be fine, saw a Honda Fit make it just fine as well. If you're passing campers and bikers are passing you, you're in the right spot. Really good way to get to Springer Mtn too.
Beautiful falls! Very easy hike and excellent spot overall. Please pick up your trash, people - saw some folks (a large family) blatantly drop trash on path and snicker when we picked it up. Jerks. Respect nature!

The gravel road isn’t fun but it’s not terrible, we made it through fine in a Honda Civic. The trail is not very long and the waterfall is beautiful. I’m pretty out of shape, but even I thought the uphill part wasn’t too bad. My partner did dislocate their shoulder after slipping on a Boulder, so that was a low point. We went around 11 and didn’t see anyone on the way to the falls, but plenty of people on the way back. Morning seems like a better time to go. My partners shoulder is fine now, and we got some interesting memories.

We came to the falls during a drought so the falls were not flowing like the pictures but it was still beautiful. I did carry a 9 month old the entire hike and overall the length of the height was not so bad..however keep in mind it is up hill!! My daughters climbed alongside the falls to the top and very much enjoyed every last minute of it!

The drive to the falls is a bit precarious in a Toyota van but not dangerous. Just mind the pot holes. There were a few nice spots to pull off and look at the creek.
The hike to the falls takes about 45 minutes and the trail was in very good condition.
The falls were nice and we're flowing at about 3/4 as shown in picture. Not bad for a dry summer. It is fairly easy to walk to the side of the falls and stick your hand in for a good photo.
There is another set of smaller falls about 600 yards from the main falls. There is small trail that provides access essential from the main trail. This trail is fairly steep and could be quite slippery after a rain shower. Some nice photos can taken here.

Easy, great hike for young and old. Love seeing God's Beauty!! Perfect just to get to nature and relax

This hike is about a mile. There are tree roots, and some rocks on the trail. Once you reach the falls you will be in awe at the beauty. Not difficult just be alert.

There's an easy way in and a not so easy way in, we now know! The walk to the falls is easy and the falls are amazing.

We like to hike to waterfalls whenever we can, and this was a great, and reasonably easy hike to some pretty falls. The drive to get there can be daunting, as the last five miles were a forest service gravel road pitted with very large potholes. We passed a few people hiking in and out, but for the most part we had the well maintained trail and the falls o ourselves.

First of all, it is about 40 minutes from Blue Ridge. It's a beautiful drive, but you have to travel slowly up a gravel road for about 5.5 miles. You can't really go over 20 miles per hour, and there are no guardrails between you and the steep drop offs. Once you park at Three Forks, it can be rather confusing. If you are on the side of the road with the bridge going over the river, you're on the wrong side. Go across the road and you will see a trail leading into the woods. About 200 feet in you'll see the "Long Creek Falls" sign. Although very pretty, it wasn't quite as awesome as we expected. It's a bit difficult to climb to the bottom, but there's a good photo spot.

Loved the hike and ending at the falls was beautiful. It was not crowded so we felt peaceful walking through the woods soaking up the scenery. We loved the many options of hiking trails. And the best part was the falls got great photos.

Easy to find location, short drive down a dirt road and small parking area.
I was a bit surprised on how narrow the path was. It was a bit difficult holding his hand and walking next to him. Anytime someone wanted to pass from either way, we had to step aside or wait to find a more wide part.
Looking at the photos, the waterfall does change a lot. It was perfect for my 2 year old and I to take our shoes off and walk in the water to touch the falls. Just be careful because the rocks are very slippery! The deck overlooking the falls is being worked on, and a bit unsteady at the moment.
All in all, it was a nice walk. Very shaded path and the falls were worth it. There is absolutely no service once you start down the road it's on, so be sure to know how to get back out without a GPS! Happy hiking!

Every season the falls are beautiful. This June it was quiet crowded but always worth the walk. It is a lea surely hike. I would take a walking stick sometimes it is slippery.

We went to hike the trail with our pup and had a great time. Parking is limited and creative but it is worth the time to enjoy this short hike.

Gentle uphill a little over a mile along a trout stream to pretty nice falls and return to road area. This is part of the Trout Adventure Trail, so stop in the Fannin Chamber of Commerce or Blairsville USFS Office or other convenient places to get a free patch for those who hike this route. See troutadventuretrail.org for plenty of info on what you see on hike.

The falls are beautiful. The hike is a mile in and a mile back. Not bad for beginners. We are not experienced, a few spots that took a bit more effort but not bad. Word of caution, we came in from the north, the drive of FS 58 is not great. It’s 20 or so minutes on a narrow gravel road with potholes. Some in our party found it very stressful to travel on. I drove slow, we were in a minivan, but being that close to the edge when another car comes can be a bit nerve racking. Just a heads up.

GPS map attached to this listing is wrong. Once we found the location, it’s a little drive down a dirt road. Trail head can be easy to miss, but there were cars parked along the road. The hike is easy to moderate, 1 mi each way. There is a somewhat steep grade at the end. The falls are quite pretty. It’s a good distance for kids to hike.

We made a quick late afternoon dash up the trail to see the falls. Showed me how out of shape I was! We had a great time. We went on a week day to ditch the crowds and only saw three others the whole trip. Road is a little rough but just go slow!

Gotta love the North Ga Mountains and all the great hiking. We hiked from the FS road ( a long, bumpy, potholed gravel road) to the falls. The hike is only a mile and is in the easy/moderate range. There were a lot of children hiking with parents and grandparents, so unless you have a physical problem, this hike should be doable. The Falls aren't the most impressive in the state, but they are lovely and provide beauty and a break for those continuing on the Appalachian Trail or the Benton-McCay trail. We decided it wasn't a far enough hike so we continued on the Appalachian trail for a few miles before turning back to go to the car.
Parking is the only problem if you start on the FS road. There isn't a parking area, but cars lined up along the road without much room to turn around.
As you can see from the last picture, the road isn't the best to get there, but worth it.

The hike is nice and easy not too difficult. We had children with us and they were able to do the hike. The reward is the beautiful waterfall at the end of the hike.

It was a pretty easy mile hike to the falls. There were a lot of people at the falls and seemed to be a bit of a tourist trap. My wife and I decided to continue hiking after the falls, and that's where the crowds thinned out and it got really awesome. Even in the middle of summer, it was not a bad hike because of all the trees and shade. Falls is definitely worth going to, just don't be afraid to keep going afterwards!

I can't count the times I have done this hike but the views are all worth it! Bring a snack and enjoy the waterfall :)

Long Creek Falls were beautiful. Coming from Florida on a 2 day trip we chose to visit these falls. The 10 minute hike was worth the trip when we made it to the falls. Breathtaking!

It was a little hard to find bu/ well worth the drive! The whole hike was beside the creek and the the nice waterfall!

Short hike to a great location for lunch! Beautiful waterfall, very peaceful. Will return on our next vacation to North Georgia.

One of my favorite hikes in North Georgia. The falls are wonderful and the hike is easy that all can do it. We have done this hike many times and each time it is rewarding.

The hike was great especially for beginnings. We saw kids on the hike as well. It was about a 25-30 minute hike to the waterfall. It was pretty safe and easy hike. The waterfall was amazing. It was beautiful. The water was cold but you are able to get close and take pictures. It was fun and easy. It's well marked and there are no guides. It's a self guide. You will be fine. Just follow the signs. We saw a few people out camping.

Beautiful trail and waterfall, had so much fun here with our dog, boyfriend got pulled into waterfall by dog - funny!!! A great day, would highly recommend this and other trails in the area, Blue Ridge is just gorgeous.

We took our kids ages 6 and 1 on a hike on a nice fall day. The dirt road is long and bumpy, but beautiful we saw two deer. The hike wasn't too difficult, even with needing to carry our one year old most of the way there and back. The kids enjoyed throwing rocks in the river. There were several places to camp too, which would be fun. If you are interested the area and enjoy hiking, give it a shot.

The falls are beautiful and well worth the visit. The hike into the falls was very reasonable and well marked. But the drive along the dirt access road is long, narrow, and very bumpy. A truck/jeep/4 wheel vehicle is strongly recommeded!

The hike was pleasant and very easy. As we approached the falls, the volume of the sound made by the cascading water increased considerably, and this made the hike that much more enjoyable.

We read the reviews before heading out so we knew what to expect. Everyone is correct, a truck or SUV is definitely preferable because it's a 5 mile drive on a pretty rough narrow gravel rode. It's definitely worth the drive though! You park and walk quite a bit to the falls. The path is clear and there are signs. It's a nice hike. The day we went there was only one other family there. It wasn't until we left around 11am that others started showing up. My 6 year old was able to play at the bottom of the falls. Bring a change of clothes and a towel. Gorgeous place! A must see. Don't forget the bug spray!

Back Country Road - Forest trail to the trailhead is kinda dicey in places. A 3 mile round trip hike uphill to the falls and downhill back awaits you, there are many tripping stones, branches, and potholes along the way. An amazing commune with nature; if it were not for all the other pesky humans meddling about.

The sign next to the parking area was a bit confusing. We ended up going to the summit and following appalachian trail down. It was over 6 miles! We still had a great time. we found out afterwards that there is a trail app that works without internet. Great bonding experience for families. Weather was perfect, no mosquitos. Take water and snacks because the nearest store or place to eat is an hour away.

Don’t buy the negative reviews. It’s an easy hike and the road is not that bad. It is a gravel road and you have to watch out for pot holes. It will add about 30 minutes to your trip each way. The road follows a great trout steam most of the way and offers some nice views. The waterfall itself is great. We left the Cabin early and arrived 7:00am. We left around 8:30am. We didn’t see a soul on the hike in or the hike out on a weekend day. Do yourself a favor and go early.

Easy walk and never crowded. Stop by the Chamber in Blue Ridge and pick up a driving map for self guided trips.

We love this hike and visit it regularly when we are in town. The hike is short and the view is lovely.

Beautiful hike, intermediate level. This is a short in and back total of maybe 2 miles. Great day hike to combine with Three Forks Trail to springer Mountain and back!

Beautiful hike to the falls. Hiked from Springer mountain to Hightower gap! The Long Creek falls was the best view.

I've visited here several times and always enjoyed it. It is a pleasant walk, not too difficult, and the falls are quite nice. Friends and family have enjoyed it.

We really enjoyed this hike of about 1mile. We wish we stayed longer and brought bathing suits because several places kids could of swam. The falls were beautiful. We went just before sunset and it's was stunning. Nobody around, just our group. No need to worry about this closing because this is pure nature. No inside a state park. We all found this to be one of the highlights of our trip to Blueridge.

We hiked to the falls with 5 kids (ages 7-11) and 4 adults. We all thought the falls were beautiful and the hike was easy and fun. The nice part of this hike is that you start the hike going up and end the hike going down. Always nice to end on an easy note!
Over half of our group loved going under the waterfall. Although the water was cold, it was cool getting to be under a big waterfall.
The only thing to note is that the dirt road to the falls is quite long, narrow, and curvy. The hike is worth it, but 5 miles on a dirt road is a long ride.

A long drive over rough roads and then a one mile hike in. Glad we did. Beautiful. We were so hot but still the water was too cold to get in for me. The guys got in.

Enjoyed the falls - but worry about the "Glamp" being built overlooking the falls. It removes the natural feel for a whole side of the falls valley. Would have been 5 stars,

We went here in the Spring with our 6 month old Grandson, easy short hike, there had been quite a bit of rain so a nice fall. We just went again a few days ago, not much water on the falls, but a nice short hike.

I've went here many times and it never gets old a great place to think,at first I thought I wouldn't make the hike but if I can do it almost anyone can.I do think it would be hard on small children but easy for older kids and make sure when you are driving the dirt road feel free to check out smaller falls along the road cause some beautiful spots are hidden

My husband and I (who are not in the best shape of our lives) hiked up this, it's got elevation as expected but not too treacherous for anyone to try! Likely much easier and faster for avid hikers to complete. Very neat, quick hiking experience!

Started from Hawk Mnt going towards falls. Beautiful scenery with 4 of us. Rained cats and dogs on way back but found refuge at cemetery. Loved seeing the gifts the trail angels left.

Very easy hike for all ages. Be careful during the rainy season. Flash floods can occur. Many downed trees due to land slides but the path is maintained well.

Looking at the beautiful lakeside homes and the pontoons. Paddling at the falls and taking photos. The kids loved it. Sorry we didn't see more waterfalls, but our footwear was the problem.

Absolutely loved our visit to Long Creek Falls during our annual family spring break adventure! This hike never disappoints—it’s always a blast and packed with fun for everyone. March brings perfect weather, making the trail even more enjoyable and super easy to navigate. And the waterfalls? Simply stunning! Every time we go, they deliver jaw-dropping views and incredible photo ops. It’s become a family favorite for a reason—we can’t recommend it enough!

Nice place to stop and just relax after a long motorcycle journey. Many sites to see along the way and much cooler than Florida (LOL).

Long road trip to get to the area where you can park your car, but the 1 mile walk to the falls was great. Beautiful place and a very easy walk for all ages.

Went here in a really moody day. The drive to long creek falls is a mission as it would take an hour for a 13 miles drive. The roads are windy and can be muddy so if you're going during rain or it says it's going to rain, it would be very dangerous to visit there. However the walk there is amazing and the falls itself. Recommend this place to visit!

Great hike to see the falls. A little difficult in some spots but well worth the effort. Bring your camera and friends.

Did not realize the off road drive it would take when we decided to go on this part of the AT. A mile up the trail you arrive at a beautiful falls. You can continue on the trail or turn around. It is a very easy walk. Well worth the effort

Well worth the trip but it was an adventure to get there. The direction in trip advisor will take you to Fannin Co High School. My previous review gave the website with the correct directions but it didn't publish because you cannot put websites on your review. I recommend search for the correct directions online as I did. It is an adventure to get there from Blue Ridge. The last 7 miles of driving was on desolate, curvy, hilly, dirt roads which was muddy for us because it had been rainy for the past few days before we went. We joked with each other about hearing banjos and making "deliverance" jokes along the way. Once we got there it was a beautiful easy hike about 2 miles round trip. Picturesque and worth the drive! Trip Advisor should fix the directions so more people can enjoy coming to see the falls.

The waterfall is beautiful!! The roads are bumpy with a few hills but nothing scary. The hike is easy even for kids. Nice place to rest and relax by the waterfall.

One of our favorite hikes, the trail are pretty easy but the trailhead is pretty remote off a gravel
Road. GPS got us there though! We didn’t see many others which made it even nicer, the water was very cold and refreshing!

I don't think I've ever reviewed a waterfall, but since this has reviews, I thought I'd add to it.
It is a nice hike, and the falls are pretty. The best part was that there was no crowd whatsoever.
However, having hiked to many falls in NC and SC, I can't give this higher than average. If you haven't visited many waterfalls, but all means do this one. Even if you have, it's worth the visit, but probably won't be your favorite.

Quick mile hike to Beautiful falls. You will walk creek side for 1/2 of the hike, then proceed a gentle climb to the falls. You will encounter three trails at one point: The Appalachian Trail, The Benton McCaye and Long Branch Falls Trail. You may even encounter "through hikers" on this hike. Enjoy!

We decided to take this hike based on TripAdvisor reviews. The hike was easy but we went off the path to the base of the falls, which was a little steep. The long dirt road to the falls was an adventure all on it's own! Definitely worth the trip!

The hike was not too tough and the sites were totally worth it! What a great way to work out p[lus see some amazing sites.

It's a long drive, short hike through a wide/clear path(shady the whole way), but the waterfall is really nice and the cool air coming off is great. Been to too many waterfalls that were terrible to get to with no pay off. This one is worth it.

Long Creek Falls is beautiful, after you drive offroad for 5 miles, you hike about 1 mile on a trail that links up with the Appalachian trial, right before you reach the fall..
The falls are not super big, but is interesting enough, and the hike alongside the river/creek has amazing views.
We discovered many camping spots alongside the ride to the top of the mounyian, and alngside the trail itself, will definitely go back for 2 nights of camping..

Not too strenuous- short 20 minute hike to a beautiful waterfall. Hike through rhododendrons and alongside a creek all the way up to the pristine double waterfall.

A beautiful waterfall. Half the fun is getting there, driving on the forest road and hiking in nature makes this spot a must visit if you are staying in Blue Ridge

The falls themselves are beautiful.
The hike is of moderate intensity and about 30 minutes each way by foot from the parking area.
The one main issue we had was that we couldn't find the parking area.
We drove passed it before turning around and doubling back some miles later.
In multiple locations along the roadway, cars would be parked for camping so at the trailhead to the falls, the only marker was a small post with a hiker on it.
The only way we chose the right trail (one leads over a bridge to something else) and for the falls trail someone had written in marker "FALLS" and an arrow in the correct trail's direction.
If not for the poor signage, this review would have 5 stars!

First off , don’t use the map on trip advisor. Took us far from the actual trail. Some other people had reviews of where to go. Overall decent hike. Very easy so I’m sure children would find it fun. I went with my girlfriend and our dog. Saw a good amount of people on the trail which wasn’t terrible but we like more seclusion. At the end of the roughly 1.5 mile hike is the falls. Cool setting and you can get close to the falls. Only took about an hour there and back. Driving in took longer than the hike. I wouldn’t go unless I had a truck or suv. I couldn’t imagine my girlfriends Honda Civic making it through, especially after rain.

Once we got to the trail it was a nice fairly easy hike to the falls through beautiful woods. We enjoyed spending some time relaxing at the falls. Be aware that the 3 mile drive on the dirt road seemed to take for ever. The road was bumpy and in my Camry we were only going 10 or 15 mph in most places. I would not want to do that drive in a small car.

this is a nice 1 mile hike, not too strenuous. Views are very nice and the falls are beautiful. The drive to the trail is very nice too.

Ten of us attempted to visit the Falls on Sunday, June 14th. We drove in from a cabin in Ellijay. This is not a simple drive. The directions to the Falls are poor and after you finally find the road the Falls are off of, there is no instruction or directions. The walk was nice but the frustration of driving for 30 plus minutes each direction on a windy, unmarked gravel road was not pleasant. The forest services need to improve signage. I would never attempt this drive in a car. The gravel roads were in need of repair with large pot holes I would not rate this a must do attraction in Blue Ridge.

Not too difficult to find with our map from our cabin. The hike was fairly easy and the falls were naturally beautiful of course. Only a few other folks there so it was nice!

Rough road going in, so make sure to have time. But great easy hike with beautiful and peaceful surroundings. We managed this with 4 adults, an 11 week old puppy and five kids (ages 4-9). Would make a great camping spot!

My husband and I hiked up to the falls. Easy walk up, peaceful and pretty. Good for all ages. Nice short adventure.

It has been about 10 years since I have been here, It is about mile 4 of the Applaciation Trail. It is just before the Benton MacKaye cuts off.
It is 1 mile from the 3 forks parking area. Not an easy drive on the forest service roads.

Alot of fun and relaxing, our family really enjoyed it. It is a must see if you are visiting the area.

This is a 2 mile hike to the base of a beautiful waterfall. We wish we had taken a picnic to eat there. You can easily get in the water below the waterfall. Hope to go back!

The drive is a bit scary, but it's totally worth it. The hike was super easy and we had the falls to ourselves. Bring water shoes to wade in it. The water is so refreshing.

Make sure to hit your mileage reset so you when you get 5.4 miles from the Forrest Road turn you'll know when to look for the small trail sign and small area to park. We passed right by it. The falls trail it to the left as you come in. Someone hand wrote on the sign an arrow but it's easy to miss. Road is pretty bumpy from 2-4miles, get ready to dodge pot holes and big rocks. We saw a bear and 3 deer. Easy hike, not an exciting hike or end at the falls for a hiker, but very nice for a quick easy getaway. We were the only ones there at 8:30 am. One car pulled in as we left.

a must see. easy hike and beautiful surrounding frost .. this isn't Niagara falls but is very pretty just the same .. limited parking but easy to find

Long Creek Falls is a fantastic hike in the woods. Trail is easy and so soothing to be a visitor with nature. Falls are very good and photos are to be remembered always. Fast stream and frigid like a full mountain stream should be. One of the places I keep coming back to see

We hiked some of the side paths that took us to smaller falls before we reached the largest fall. Lovely camp sites along the way. Leaves are in full color.

We hiked to these falls twice...beautiful falls that can be reached in about 30 mins. The drive to it can be a little tricky but overall pretty nice! The trail was wide and easy to navigate.

My husband and I loved the beautiful waterfall! Very great place for a nice walk, and a good hike that is not too difficult.

There was quite a drive and a pretty good hike to this waterfall, but it was well worth it. The trail is a bit confusing when you park, as there is a sign that points both ways to falls (go to the left). Some nice person helped out by adding some helpful directions in marker on the confusing sign. Also, close to the falls the trail splits with a trail to the falls and the Appalachian trail to the right. If you miss it, you are on your way to Springer mountain. Well worth the hike.

This is a nice little hike with a great falls experience at the end. You will be on the Appalachian Trail for most of the hike. The hike to the falls is about one mile and is mostly on an upward incline. The drive into the trailhead is 5 miles on a forestry road. It is mostly in good shape but does have some bumpy spots with mud holes. Most vehicles should be able to make it. We saw sedans and mini-vans.

Not too bad of a hike and just stunning. Great photo opt and just untouched place for reconnecting with nature!

A friend and I decided to take this journey because I had just recently moved to the area. She brought her 3 young boys (ages 3 to 8). It is a beautiful and easy climb. All the boys had a great time and the falls were beautiful! I would recommend this hike for those with young children, the elderly, or maybe for those of you that want to take in many sights of Blue Ridge in one day! Beautiful!

Great hike. A bit steep but not too difficult. Well worth it. Took the dogs and they had a blast. Tip on getting there: GPS will take tou the long way, over a mountain and through some rough roads. Use Map quest directions which tske you through the entrace of that park.

Great waterfall hike! Hike is not too long or not too hard for a beautiful cascade of falling water. Recent rain produced a much bigger waterfall than we anticipated. A bit muddy but we went on a rainy day, so not a bad rainy day hike. Good dirt path, with rocks & roots. Would be pretty when the rhododendron are in bloom. Still gorgeous forest and stream views.

Hiked here after completing a trek from 3 forks to springer mountain thinking it would be a great add on. Simple hike but not very exciting. It’s neat but not worth the drive out to just go to this location!

The ride was off rode feeling and fun. A bit of an adventure in itself. The hike was very easy and only a mile out and back to the cars. The falls were great with plenty of water flowing.

As others have said, the waterfall makes it worth the long drive to the trail head. Once there, it's a fairly easy hike to natural beauty! Keep going until you hit the 3 forks and follow the sign left to Long Creek. I would suggest packing a picnic and arriving mid-late morning. It started to get crowded as we left @1:30. It's very relaxing with plenty of rocks to chill upon.

Love the hiking it was great seeing the falls. Will be back ir was a great adventure. My husband tough it was too strong for me to walk in the long trail but I did it up and down.

I liked the building and all of it's furnishings and the look it has. But the parking lot is full of puddles and muddy. Inside was a nice place to attend one of Blue Ridge's events. No complaints whatsoever, except the parking lot

The longest dirt road ever and it is in horrible condition after the halfway mark.. we even have a really good truck.. had I known it was so awful we wouldn't have wasted an hour and a half of our day just to turn around midways on the dirt road Bc of it being so awful!

A very nice hike from Three Forks on the Appalachian Trail will take you to Long Creek Falls. The trail is very well maintained and is relatively easy (for this part of Georgia). It is a very pretty area and the falls are always running!
Definitely worth the drive!

A very nice waterfall that is a short hike from the parking area. Driving there is a little difficult. Be sure to come in from the west and not from the east which is a treacherous forest service road that is rough even for 4-wheel drive.
It is easy to get to either the top or bottom of the 50 foot falls. Here is a video that I shot of the scenery on my hike to the falls. http://vimeo.com/98329567

The walk to Long Creek Walls is very easy if you're looking to see a waterfall as well as wade it in as well. It was super easy to get to and very convenient. The nature was very well preserved and it was a beautiful sight to see. Highly recommend sight seeing and hiking here while in Blue Ridge.

The falls are beautiful. Not the largest I have seen, but worth the mile hike. You do need an appropriate car to get down the 5 mile plus gravel pot hole road.

Down a long windy road. A few of us got motion sickness.... 1/10 mile path to hike. My 5 year old had no problem making it. You have to step out in the water to get a good view of the falls, but it was beautiful!

Do not follow the coordinates proceed!
The location provided is not accurate. It took us to railroad tracks ... not the trail!

Easy walk to see one of North Georgia's lovely waterfalls. I've been there several times and each time I see something new.

Beautiful falls, easy hike. You need a map to find it. Go to the Chamber of Commerce in Blue Ridge or get the map online.

I want to preface this by saying that I've hiked in various places and I don't mind mountainous drives but this drive was not only long but the last 5 miles was in all gravel. If you have a truck or a jeep, you'll be fine and sail on through this drive but our two cars had to inch through it and avoid all the large rocks or dips on the unpaved road. We were pretty burnt out from the drive alone and enjoyed the short hike to the beautiful fall but I remember the drive more than anything. If you are okay with the drive, then go for it. It's fresh air and waterfalls. The trail was easy to walk and we saw plenty of families doing it together. There was nothing steep or dangerous about it. There are also no bathrooms so come prepared! I have hiked at many other places and the drive was easier/safer with larger waterfalls as well. If you haven't seen any waterfalls, then you should check it out because the hike is short but if you haven't this will be a little disappointing based on the drive and size. Our group still had fun overall-- but that drive was pretty terrible for us suburb folk!

This was very close to our cabin so went and checked it out. This was a very easy trail for all ages. We had our entire family grandpa and grandma and no one struggled too bad. This trail is straight up but its not a terrible grade.
As far as beauty nothing surpasses this great wonder of nature. Also if you're looking there is a great twisted hollow tree for a photo opportunity on the trail hiking up.

6 mile drive on a Forrest Service road. With a easy 1 mile hike to the Falls. Be careful going to the bottom of the falls with children.

At our family reunion in Blue Ridge we decided to take the Long Creek Falls hike - at only a little over a mile it was well marked, the trail was easy to walk on and once there the Falls were pretty cool. We loved getting in the cold water after the hot hike. Young and old enjoyed themselves.

Not sure if it was worth the long drive but my fiancé and I both really enjoyed the walk and seeing the waterfall.

easy enough hike for the ambulatory, wouldn't try it if you have bad knees, or need assistance given the uphill and rocks. Went with younger son and the dog, glad we did.

A long drive!! Nice hike for my family (6 year old, 9 year old). It was a popular trail, we seen many hikers. It felt safe because it was so popular. The waterfall was beautiful.

Quick hike up easy path. We had a pregnant mom and 3 year old, plus 2 over 50 year olds! Fun, cool and made us really feel like hikers.

Thoroughly enjoyed the hike to the falls. Not a difficult hike and the trail is well marked and clear. Only difficulty was the graded road leading to the trailhead. Good thing we had a rented SUV think it would have been difficult to drive in a car. The road is filled with deep potholes and very narrow in parts. Stay alert on this road and go slow.

Me and my two daughter (4 and 9) hiked the long creek falls trail which is approximately 1 mile. It was uphill going to the waterfall. At times it was tough on my youngest but she pushed through. The trail seems at times that it is going away from waterfall but just keep going. The waterfall is totally worth the hike. Great place to have a pick-nick. The good thing about the trip being uphill is the return trip is down. Do not follow directions off Trip Advisor. Look up on google and follow navigation. It will take down winding mountain roads and come to a gravel road. You will follow with gravel road for about 5 miles but the scenery was beautiful with the creek on one side. Must do!!!!

The gravel road is not that bad. Just go about 15 mph and avoid the potholes. The hiking trail is fairly easy. There is a small sign at the 5 mile mark to the falls. You’ll see where people park along the road.

This was a great way to spend a couple hours with some friends. It was an easy enough walk and while I'm a bit out of shape this was fun, exciting and the falls were beautiful. There are places to stop and break along the way of needed, but not necessary even if you are a little out of shape. I wish we would have thought about bringing a picnic lunch as that would have been a great place to sit on a rock and enjoy a snack while taking in the falls. There were other people on the trails but not overwhelming and it was enjoyable with a group or with a couple on a romantic outing, or for someone looking for some solo enjoyment. .. Note, the road to get to the parking areas is rocky, hole-filled and narrow. Take a vehicle that can handle this type of road. We were happy to be in an SUV. Also, there are no restrooms on the trails or on any of the roads within a few miles so if you have to pee, go beforehand.

Nice loop. Nothing noteworthy to look at except some creeks. No facilities. Easy to follow trail. Not much else to say

This is a great little hike out to Long Creek Falls. It is beautiful and well with the short hike to the falls.

We traveled about an hour from Blue Ridge mainly because it wasn't easy to find, directions are horrible, but the search was all part of the fun. The hike to the waterfall was more than we expected but just wear good shoes and warm clothes, very nice. The falls were incredible. Beautiful and a real waterfall we don't often get to see living where we live. Be careful when climbing but a great spot for photos!

a great place to visit.very quiet and seculded.it is very easy to get to.we had a nice packed lunch and did not see another person while there

Falls are beautiful, with about a mile or so hike. From march thru October the parking area can fill up, so go early in the day to secure parking and have less company.

It is a gravel road for about 5 miles on the way in, my mini van had no problems. We had no cellular service so make sure you pay attention for when you leave.
It is mostly uphill going to the falls and not a long walk. It took us 20 minutes going in. Keep going on the main path until you see the sign. The Trail is along the stream much of the way and you may be tempted to take a side trail thinking the falls are there because you hear the rush of the stream. Don’t, just keep going until you see the sign in the picture I attached where the Trail forks into other trails. We packed a lunch in and ate on one of the flat rocks there. My teens enjoyed it, they climbed up a side path to the top of the falls. My 10 year old had no problems. The water was very, very cold. We spent an hour at the falls with lunch and messing around on the rocks. Great family time!

The falls are pretty cool and the hike out there is not too bad. However, the road to get there is horrible.

We hiked to the falls with a 10, 8, and 1 year old - so anyone who can walk can really pull this hike off! It was a short hike to a very scenic waterfall: great for many kodak moments!
The only downfall is how difficult it is to find! There aren't any visible signs leading the parking area and we made multiple wrong turns before eventually finding the spot.

A bit confusing when you arrive. Trail to the falls will be on you left as you arrive. Trail is easy and scenic. Young kids can handle easily. Something to see.

A great hike and beautiful water fall. It is steep but , I did it. I just took my time. My daughter and husband and 3 grand children 3, 7 and 9 year old, with a golden doodle and yorkie and myself all did the tail well and love playing in the water. My daughter had a back pack for the 3 year old for when he got tired.it is a pretty ride though a long dirt road with the river and mountains views make it a super nice trip to enjoy while in the mountains. There were a few camp sites on the way. But more no camping sign. It was a fun relaxing activity to do. You might need snacks and water .

The hike to the waterfall is about 2.2 miles in-and-out so it's perfect for hikers of all levels. The waterfall is full and surrounded by large boulders to sit on and enjoy. With the large tree canopy in the summer, it feels about ten degrees cooler. The main obstacle is the 5.3 mile drive on a gravel Forest Service road. The trailhead is not marked except for a Hiker Crossing sign. Parking is alongside the road and there are no bathroom facilities. However, the beautiful falls are worth it.

If you like walking in the woods and seeing beautiful waterfalls, be sure to take the time to visit this site. It's not a strenuous hike, and right off the Appalachian Trail coming down from Springer Mountain.

Nearly anyone should be able to complete this hike and the falls are very nice. You can go back home and tell people that you were hiking on the Appalachian Trail. We talked to a couple people who were beginning their long journey to Maine which was pretty cool.

Beautiful autumn. scenery. Nice, easy walk. Beautiful falls. It's a great area to visit. It's a pretty place, and relaxing.

Great small hike for the kids. They thought it was cool to be on the Appalachian trail and to climb to the top of the falls. It was worth the drive into the mountains.

Just started hiking and have made a bucket list to visit all the falls in Georgia. This was 15 minutes in and out to the falls.

This was an easy hike for families. Only a mile from the parking to the top of the falls. We even took my dog on her 1st hike. The whole family loved it. My son waded in the COLD water and hopped from rock to rock. At the bottom of the trail we skipped rocks and just enjoyed the peaceful Noontootla creek. We had a great day enjoying nature and each other!

The trail was easy with no big hills. The falls were pretty. This is a good place for a family outing or to go with friends for a casual outing. It was neat to be able to say that we were on the Appalachian Trail and the Benton MacKaye (BMT) Trail even though it was a minuscule part of the trails. If you needed a longer hike, you could stay on one of these trails for longer.

The road to get here, at least from the south is pretty rough. I'd recommend a truck but I did see even a Mercedes sedan make it up the hill. The trail is a short one but the falls are great. The hike takes some effort.

We headed out while staying in Blue Ridge. We've taken a scenic drive on Aska Rd. in past visits, but never to the falls.
The ride up the gravel mountain road was beautiful & pristine!! We hiked what seems like more than the posted "1 mile" to the magnificent falls. Our children, 11 & 9 really enjoyed the experience. We'll be back!!

Long Creek Falls is one of the nicest waterfalls in the area. It is almost a pity it became so popular. I always enjoyed the solitude - not much of that now. Nonetheless it is a great waterfall hike. If you take the time to research there is s lot more to see once you are there.

It takes about 40 minutes to get to the trail head from Blue Ridge. This trail is only 4 miles from Springer Mountain where the AT starts. Once you get on Forest Road 58 it gets bumpy but take it easy and you will be fine. You drive 5.4 miles down this road. Once you get there you see others cars parked and signs to the trail. It's about a mile on this trail. You follow the creek which is very pretty even from the beginning as your driving up road 58. There are a few bonus waterfalls (the lower parts of the creek/falls you're walking to) that you can go explore but don't stop thinking this is Long Creek Falls. It's not a hard hike but it is a gradual elevation gain. My two young girls (6/4) made it just fine. When you get to the fork in the trails everything for the falls will be clearly marked. Go to the left for the falls and it will be "180 steps" away (as the sign says). The falls are very pretty and the pool at the bottom of the falls looks wadeable in the summer. It's a great picture spot. It's a decent drive to get there but being on the AT/BMT is always fun and it's a really nice falls.

Awesome easy hike to nice waterfalls. Me and my wife really enjoyed the quite walk Easy to find
Travel 5 miles on dirt.

Bring the dogs and your bathing suit. It is a bit of a drive on a dirt road but well worth it. We had a blast.

It is a mile walk to the upper falls and not too hard to get to. The lower falls are a steep walk down, but still not too hard for us old folks. the trail is not well marked once you start, so we are not sure we made it to the top, however, two falls was great. It is a 5 mile drive on the forestry service dirt road, and no facilities when you get there, so be prepared.

Well worth the short hike! Great place to take pictures. Close to Blue Ridge so doesn't take long to get there.

Went on this hike Dec 22 w/ our 2 kids, 9 & 11. Getting to the trailhead not too complicated, but take note, the location shown in TripAdvisor is wrong - it is a bit more "in the middle of nowhere", same as Toccoa Swinging Bridge - the location shown in Google maps is correct. If you put "Long Creek Falls" in google maps app in your Iphone, will take you straight there - LOAD WHILE YOU STILL HAVE CELL SIGNAL - ONCE YOU GET DOWN ASKA RD, NO SIGNAL AND YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO LOAD.
Other important points:
1) the hike to the falls is almost all uphill - great news as the way back is almost all downhill
2) go during the week/ off season if possible - we had the entire trail/ falls to ourselves
3) there are 3 smaller falls on the route to the main falls - you'll see fairly wide/ obvious trails off to the left leading to them and you will be able to hear them - worth the scramble down to each, each is different
4) as long as it hasn't been raining, you should be able to arrive to the trailhead in a regular car (unlike Toccoa Swinging Bridge)
5) stop at the Toccoa River Restaurant on the way back (Aska Rd) - great place
For time planning, exploring all of the side falls, main falls and hike in and out took us 2 hrs total (and we had a pik-nic at the falls).
If you prefer written directions, details below:
Blue Ridge
Take Old Highway 76 through town and turn right on Aska Road (first right after the 3-way stop sign. Continue on Aska Road until it dead-ends into Newport Road, turn right on Newport and continue down Newport. At the end of Newport turn left onto Doublehead Gap Road, which becomes a dirt road. Just past a church and cemetery the road narrows, then splits into three separate roads. Turn right onto FS58 and travel 5.4 miles to a widening in the road. This is Three Forks.
Once you are at the parking area:
To the west from the parking area at Three Forks is the bridge spanning Chester Creek. To the east the trail will take you to Long Creek Falls. The footpath begins a gradual rise in elevation along Long Creek. This creek, along with Chester Creek and Stovall Creek join at Three Forks to form Noontootla Creek, a tributary of the Toccoa River. The trail passes through a wide plain of grass, ascending gradually with the creek nearby. A few feet in is a sign indicating that Long Creek Falls is 1 mile (at this point it is actually less than that and on our GPS we measured a total one way length of .96 miles).
Shortly after the sign is a break, sharpened stumps intended to prevent motorized vehicles, mountain bikes and horses from accessing the hiking path.
The path follows Long Creek throughout the journey to the falls, only once moving away from the creek a short distance into a cove to cross an unnamed, frequently dry stream that empties into the creek. The path is a favorite of ours because it does parallel Long Creek; the flowing stream lends a comforting sound to the hike. As the path climbs the drop to the stream reaches 80 feet at one point and cascades along the way are so loud that they can mislead a hiker into thinking they have reached the falls.
Just before the Duncan Ridge and Benton MacKaye Trail leaves the Appalachian Trail, the path to Long Creek Falls is marked by a trail sign. A few steps leads you to these wide, almost always full falls. The sound can be overwhelming, especially after a rain. Long Creek tumbles over some small rocks, then widens over a single large rock, fanning out and dropping to a clear, shallow pond beneath the falls.

Beautiful scenery hiking in to see the gorgeous water fall.
Be careful on the rocks! Our dogs love going there!

Long creek is my favorite waterfall to go to! Great, easy hike and the trails are very well maintained! The drive down FS 58 may seem a little long, but so worth it!!

Well worth the drive!!! Absolutely stunning and I will certainly return!!! The hike was not bad...the water was cold - but we all loved putting our feet in it anyway!

Long creek falls is a beautiful falls and very family friendly! The falls is only a mile hike or 2 miles round trip. Beautiful trout streams and shoals on the trail ! The trail is easy and well marked!. It's a little bumpy driving to the trailhead but totally worth it.
My granddaughter did this hike and she was only 6 no problem! this was her first hike she was so amazed and loved it!

We went for Mother's Day weekend and it was a perfect little hike with beautiful falls! We have three children aged 4, 6 and 7 and they were able to do the entire trail without issues. There is beautiful little rapids to the left of you leading up to the waterfall. The whole area is shaded and beautiful! The waterfall was spectacular, too! When you get to the section where you are looking at all the signs, go BEHIND the sign that says Long Creek Falls, even though the trail is marked in blue. The falls are only about 200 steps further! There are quite a few trees near the falls and I would recommend bringing an Eno or portable hammock to relax and enjoy the surroundings. It is very relaxing. We were the only ones there for about 15 minutes, then a few hikers arrived afterwards. Not too many hikers, but enough to where you didn't feel too isolated.
There's no cell service, so leaving the trailhead was interesting. We couldn't get a signal to pull up waze on our phone so we had to return to the main road by memory. Definitely plan to bring a paper map of the area or take a screen shot on your phone so you will be able to find your way home. We stopped in Blue Ridge and had lunch, only about 25 mins away and ate at Harvest on Main. We brought our dog and they are very dog friendly and allow pets on the patio. Call ahead and make reservations and they'll squeeze you in!

I'm sure it's a lovely place but we were unable to find it using our phone's map app and cell service was not great. We met several travelers/hikers along the dirt roads and each person gave us totally different directions. Ended up lost in Chattahoochee National Forest. I recommend a full tank of gas and cooler with drinks/snacks if you decide to go.

The drive was a little rough and not really worth the water fall. I've seen a lot of falls that are bigger and better and require a lot less effort to get there. The trip consisted of about 10 miles of rough dirt / rocky road. We were in a car and go 15 mph at the most. There were lots of big pot holes and if there would've been a good rain it would've been a mess. If you do decide to go I would suggest taking a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Once you get to the trail and start your hike it's easy. Seemed like it was not much more than 1 mile. I would not go again and wish we would've spent our afternoon doing something else.

Driving there was more difficult than the hike. Coming in from the river near the restaurant is much easier but our GPS took us down the long gravel road. Super easy short hike to very nice waterfall. Perfect short hike for little ones. There were quite a few people at the falls but we still had the opportunity to take all the photos we wanted. Also saw a bunch of beautiful butterflies.

The hike is of moderate intensity, but the falls are gorgeous. There are multiple tiers for the falls.
The drive will take you over half the time of expedition. It is 15 miles down forest service road, which is bumpy. You must have an SUV or Truck, no low clearance cars.

My husband and I get teased because we post many pix of the North Georgia Waterfalls we've visited over the past several years. We have usually stayed in Hiawassee when we visit, but this trip we stayed in Blue Ridge which made visiting this "new" falls very convenient. The hike is easy and very pretty; however, I strongly advise against bringing an infant in a stroller! (Yes, we saw a young family with a toddler being pulled along by mommy while daddy CARRIED an infant in a stroller...!?!) Anyway, the falls themselves are gorgeous with stair-stepped granite and enormous and spectacular smooth boulders scattered about. Visiting Long Creek Falls should be on everyone's hiking list when they come to Blue Ridge!

Easy hike back to the falls. Trails are well maintained. Great hike to take dogs and/or kids. We wore Chacos and were perfectly comfortable.

This waterfall was a good walk to get to but we enjoyed it. The air was crisp and the trees blocked most of the beautiful sun. The water was chilly and very clear.

We have 2 girls under 5 and this was perfect for them, and us. They loved exploring the trails that branched off from the Falls. There wasn't much of a waterfall but we expected that and weren't disappointed. We all had a wonderful time hiking and exploring!

The falls are so beautiful and the area around it also. The ride up to it is tough. The terrain for cars is bad. Just keep in mind that it will take you a little while to get up to the destination.

We went on a Jeep ride to get outside during COVID-19. This was our first time on this road and we saw many families camping for Memorial Day weekend. We were not aware of the falls and were pleasantly surprised when they appeared. The road is maintained and and trip was well worth it to get out and reconnect with nature.

This was a great hike and a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the falls. The water is clear and crisp. A great trip and many different ways or hikes to reach the falls.

The drive back into the hiking trail is slow due to dirt road but it's worth your time. There's limited parking in area so pick a spot when you see one. The falls are to the left and it's not marked by signs. We made the mistake of going to the right over the bridge and hiked for 4 miles which was nice but the falls were too the left and only a mile up. It was worth the both hikes and our dogs loved the water.

Yes, we have a 8 year old and a 4 year old that complains about everything. We went in early January and it was very cold! The walk is not crazy long but enough to get one "are we there yet". The only issue is the stretch that significantly goes up, just remember that it's mostly downhill on the way back ;). The falls are nothing insane but cute enough to make the walk. The drive in is really nice enough that the whole trip is really worth the while. I would tell you to not hesitate and add this to your list.
For easy directions, download the Google Maps app and search "long creek falls" and it will take you straight there. Set the directions in an area with good signal as there is nothing on your way there.
You don't need a 4x4 car but the road is a little bumpy.

The drive out is about a half hour from Blue Ridge, but a nice drive that takes you along the river and away from town. There's not much parking, but we saw only one other vehicle on the day we went. It took about 20 minutes to hike up to the falls, and it was well worth it. Peaceful and pretty.

Great place - I love the falls and the hike was not so bad the drive up to the falls was a little scary but all in all a great time

The ride in is a little bumpy on the FS road, so a truck or 4 wheel drive is recommended, but well worth it. We took a long time getting to the actual trail head because there were such pretty camp sites near the creek we kept stopping. The trail to the falls is well marked and only has one steeper section you can take slow. I do not have great knees, and I had no problem with the trail. Waterfall is very beautiful.

Synopsis: very long and precarious gravel road must be used to gain access to the trail. Phone coverage is sketchy in the area so print directions to take with you in case you lose coverage and GPS. The stress of the drive ruins any tranquility expected and gained by the hike and waterfall. You have to pay serious attention when driving on this gravel road.
Detail: I haven't seen any reviews that detail the gravel road to the extent I think it should be detailed. This is certainly something I wish I had more information about before making the trip with my family.
There are two ways to get to the "parking lot" for the trail that leads to Long Creek Falls. Both are via a gravel road, like others have stated. Now here's the part I wish was more obviously noted... One route is 20+ minutes by car on the gravel road, the other is 1+ hour on the gravel road by car! And this isn't a nice straight gravel road. This is a very winding road with many bumps and pot holes, is steep in places, and is narrow (often times only room for one car width) coupled with mountain dropoffs.
If you have a low riding car, forget it. You'll get stuck and cause serious issues trying to get out. I saw some sedans that braved the road, so you can try if you want. If you're in a higher-rise car, you should be fine, especially in a 4x4. Oh yeah, it's super dusty too, so you'll want to keep your distance from any cars in front of you to make sure you can clearly see the road.
We went in Mid April on a 70 degree, breezy day, so the trail and hike itself was nice, and the waterfall is nice, but I don't think we'll make that trek again. If you just want to take your family to see a waterfall, find one with much easier access and better parking. This state park is best left to serious hikers and motocrossers. The drive simply isn't worth the viewing of the waterfall. As noted in the synopsis, the drive nullifies any tranquility you'd get from the hike.
Oh, the quicker path on the gravel road is via the driving directions that turn you left at 369 off of GA 400. If you go the route 400 north that takes you past the outlet malls, you'll have 1 hour or more of driving on the gravel road.

Off the beaten path and although you don't need an 4 wheel drive vehicle an SUV or truck is def recommended as you have about 5 miles of dirt road with decent sized rocks and many holes along the way. After you park there is about a mile hike which is not too difficult. The payoff is worth it. Not a huge waterfall but very pretty. It was practically empty when we got there only one other couple showed us which gave us the opportunity and to take great pics on and around the waterfall and since the other couple showed the were able to take a group shot for us. BINGO!!

Was very hard to find and limited signs once you get there, however well worth it! Kids had a blast even though they almost gave up on the long hike.

My only warning notice would be watch for cars coming the opposite ways as road is REALLY narrow and that can be a real bad issue.

This was a pretty and easy hike. it took us about an hr total when you take some time to hang out at the falls. It takes some time to get to the beginning of trail since we came down a forest road but it is a pretty drive as well. Only negative is that is the the same way in and back. Would have liked a circular route.

The drive was something to remember... you'll go a max of 10 miles an hour on an unpaved/pothole filled road. Look over the side occasionally to see the beautiful creek below... and then quickly keep your eyes back on the road when you realize how far down that creek is from the road (easily 30 feet!) I was queasy for 80% of the car ride.
We saw people on the trail wearing flip flops. Don't do that. Bring a water bottle, wear bug spray and wear closed toe shoes. The trail is not really marked all that well. I will tell you this- you'll park on the road near Three Forks... we just parked when we started seeing a bunch of cars parked on the side of the road. You'll walk back toward the trail entrance where you can either go left or right. Immediately you'll see that one side has a cute foot bridge over the creek. THIS IS NOT THE PATH TO THE FALLS! Turn around, cross the road and go the other direction (into the woods) and follow that path up for the fall.
This isn't a trail meant for those who can't handle 20 minutes of moderately- paced walking. That's about how long it'll take you to get to the falls. So be ready to carry children or stop a lot for older folks/pregnant people in your party!!
Once you're there, you'll enjoy the view. Bring a lunch... we did and that was one of the most memorable parts of this trip! Picnicking by the falls! We were spoiled by visiting Amicacola Falls the day prior, so we weren't too impressed with this falls. The journey to this fall, however, will give you many stories to share once you're back home!!

The waterfall itself is pretty and the hike to it isn't terrible but the rock road leading up to it is. You have to drive slowly over all the bumps but it's manageable.

I hiked this trail with a group of girlfriends on Saturday. It is easy to find and not too long. Parking was a bit challenging due to alot of people being there but we figured it out. I reccomend bringing bug spray. You do not notice the bugs but I have a few bites. The waterfall is beautful and easy to navigate around. We took lots of cute pictures!

This turns out to be a very easy and short hike. It takes longer to get to the parking area than it does to hike. But…it is still worth the trip. Nice little falls and creek at the end. Great place for picnicking and the kids will love it. If you want a nice stroll through the woods that will be easy for kids, this is the place. It is also part of the AT and the BMT.

These falls were very pretty. If you haven't hiked to any falls before this would be a fairly easy one for your first time. It is about a 30 minute hike in and not very difficult. We did see several people of all ages on the trail. The worst part was the drive in once you get onto the gravel road. I did it in a standard SUV and couldn't imagine doing it in a car. Lots of rocks, ruts, and not very well marked on way up to falls. I believe it was about 6 long miles on that stretch of road. Very pretty falls but not as spectacular as I was hoping after the long, bumpy ride up.

This is one of the easiest and most picturesque hikes in Blue Ridge. The waterfall is beautiful. When you get there you can sit on the rocks and enjoy the relaxing and tranquil sound of the waterfall. There are additional hiking trails right at the parking area too.

Fun trip! Got stuck in a thunderstorm the first attempt. We were half way to the waterfall and decided to turn around due to heavy rains. The trail became very slippery. Although it rained, it was a fun adventure. We went back the next day and had a wonderful time! Hike is doable (I’m out of shape) and both kids were able to do it (3 and 6 years old). The end result is a beautiful waterfall!

The hike was a little testy for my Husband(non athletic) but my son and I had no problem. The falls were clean and beautiful.

If you are using the GPS on your phone, be sure to get your directions loaded before heading out because you will not have service. The turns to get to these falls are not clearly marked. The day we went, in our truck, the forestry road was in fair condition with only a few problem areas. It is drive-able by car but may be a little tough on your car. After about 5 miles you will come to the trailhead parking. This is only a 1 mile hike. I do not hike and I didn't consider the hike difficult at all. Peaceful trail. Even though it had not rained in almost a month here the falls were still flowing and very pretty. We took a snack and stayed to enjoy the area. A nice short hike to take the family out and enjoy.

This was a beautiful and my favorite in Fannin County. My only note is we saw a lot of people not go all the way to the fall. They stopped at a smaller fall. Long Creek fall is well marked when you get to it

Its a little bit of a drive from Downtown BR but not too far of a hike.
I took my elderly Dad and he loved it...didn't get too tired!
It has a nice deck and bench to sit on when you get there.
Great spot for pics too

Staying in the Blue Ridge mountains for a week, we researched the many trails of this beautiful area in Georgia. Since we were traveling with our two teenagers, we looked for a moderate trail that would be enjoyable for the whole family. We were a good half hour away from the trailhead. The drive through the mountain is on a winding road, perfectly picturesque, with about 5 miles of gravel road to the trailhead. Once we arrived at the trailhead, there are several trails to choose from, including the Appalachian Trail. The Long Creek Falls Trail is a 1.9 mile uphill trail going in, and downhill coming out. The trail is wide at some parts, narrow at other parts, with a constant sound of the creek to your left as you head to the falls. It is a beautiful trail, and at the end you are greeted by a beautiful and serene landscape. Although this is bear territory, we didn't see one, or any other animals other than a few birds and butterflies. Loved this trail.

From Blue Ridge, Ga it is about a 35-40 minute drive but well worth it for a dose of the real unspoiled North Georgia Mountains. It's a beautiful drive along scenic Noontootla Creek in the national forest to a small parking area where the Appalachian Trail crosses this forest service road. This area is called Three Forks or the Long Creek Trailhead for the Appalachian Trail. Park in this area (not well marked but somewhat obvious when you get there as there are only camping spots along the way otherwise) and walk the historic Appalachian Trail for about 1 mile or less to Long Creek Falls.
You'll see a small wooden footbridge crossing the creek adjacent to the road where you park...this is not the way to the waterfall but is the Appalachian Trail heading back to Springer Mountain. The trail is on the other side of the road leading to the waterfall, and once again not clearly marked at this point in regard to the waterfalls. It's a relatively easy hike considering it's the Appalachian Trail but is mostly uphill to the falls. Coming back down is easy! There are actually multiple falls with some not as obvious as the largest that receives the most visitors and is easiest to find....you'll hear the smaller falls off the trail and behind the trees and large rhododendron...there are small footpaths leading to these other smaller falls along the way. The main waterfall has a sign off the main trail once you are near. It is definitely best to wear good walking or hiking shoes vs flip-flops or sandals, etc. Bring water and maybe a snack.
A short drive from Long Creek Falls parking area brings you to the parking lot for the just under mile hike to the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail on Springer Mountain. Another cool spot to visit if you want to experience the Appalachian Trail and visiting both of these locations makes for a great 1/2 day or longer adventure. (the trail heads uphill across the road from the parking lot to see the Springer Mountain Southern Terminus markers of the Appalachian Trail). Bring water and a picnic lunch to enjoy the area longer.

Not exactly a hike, but a very pleasurable walk uphill. My wife was 13 weeks pregnant and made it with no problem. The drive, as stated by many, is very confusing. I read some reviews and mapped out the directions on Google maps. I am uploading a photo of where to stop when you get to the trailhead. When you get to Forest service road, it seems to take forever and there is no real indication of where the falls are except for a picture of a hiker where someone wrote "falls".
As for the falls it was a nice walk with our dog. We took several photos and relaxed for close to 30 minutes with not one other hiker. Very nice, but possibly just due to the 30 degree weather and time of day, 1030.
There are many great falls in the US, but is this the best? No. Was it an excellent day with the wife and dog? Absolutely.
And the road was not 4x4 required. We had ours and did not need it. A long winding road to a wonderful small falls.

We took a very nice short (1 mile each way) hike to the falls. The water was running very nicely...very pretty. The drive on gravel roads is 11.7 miles each way once you are off the pavement. The gravel is mostly very good and easy to do in any car.

Felt compelled to write a review based off of trying to find this. After 2 sets of failed gps coordinates we gave up. If someone successfully finds the coordinates for this it would be helpful to post. We were carting small children so we had to find a different plan but would have loved to see this one.

The drive up the over 5 miles of gravel/dirt small road is a bit undesirable and we had no choice but to wash our truck afterwards. It is bumpy too but you are able to view the river. The hike was okay but we saw some slightly elderly or a slightly heavy people laboring. Not doing much exercise we ourselves were a little winded. All in all though not bad.

The short one mile walk to the falls was not challenging, but the forest service road was a bit harrowing at times in a car. Not horrible if you're careful to avoid the rather large holes in the road and the protruding rocks. Just know that 5 miles on this road will take a long time at 5-10 mph. The falls were ok, nothing spectacular, but the sheer beauty of the forest was the best part of the experience.

The signage for the falls is not great, and there is no cell coverage for most of the trip, so make sure you have your directions before you start. It is also a good fifteen minute drive off the hard road. Once you get to the trailhead it is another fifteen minute walk up a moderate slope.
The falls itself is a very pretty, tumbling stream of water, probably thirty feet high. We spent a half hour just wading in the water below the falls and climbing above them too. While not quite as impressive as Amicolola falls in height or stature, the setting is more serene and less touristy.
Overall this is not a place for those who are not fit and ready to walk in the woods. Several people have commented that you should not wear flip-flops and they are right. Although hardly a serious hike you should be properly attired. There is also no seating area at the trail so bring chairs or something to sit on if there are those in your party not up to the walk.

The road to the trailhead is long and bumpy. Once we got there, we started down the trail. It is an easy trail but left this senior citizen quite winded. There were a couple of side trails off of the main one where we found another waterfall and a nice creek area. The falls at the end of the trail were quite worth the hike and we spent a wonderful afternoon in this forest.

We were there after a storm and the falls were outstanding. The trail was very manageable even with the wet conditions. Easy to get to the top of the falls which we always enjoy. Highly recommend.

After having been to several waterfalls in NC this was nothing special. Was just another opportunity to hike and take in some fresh air. Otherwise, this was a weak waterfall.

Easy hike and beautiful falls. We went as a group and it was easy to keep together. Once you get to the falls you can continue hiking to the top but that is a bit more of a challenge but rewarding.

These falls were beautiful... very easy & short hike.... do have other trails off this so we went for awhile... Easy to find & easy course

The drive up to the parking area is beautiful, the road can be a little narrow in spots. The road follows a beautiful stream for most of the drive. The hike from the parking area is a gradual climb but does not get very steep. As you get close to the top of the trail there are lots of roots on the trail so keep your eyes on the path. Watch for signs directing you to the falls. This hike gives you a little taste of the the Appalachian Trail! This is a great hike for kids as well as adults. Falls are not massive but very pretty and worth the walk.

This hiking walk was a good exercise for me! The scenic route to get to this place was beautiful, amazing looking cabins, beautiful mountains... the waterfall was nice.

Long drive on flat gravel road but easy to find and not a long walk. We saw deer along the way and found it very peaceful. We were the only ones there at the time.

When you were walking and you got to the falls it was really beautiful and we eat lunch there really nice but the water is really cold and there is no Internet there

The hike to the falls is 1 mile and it’s relatively flat. We had to climb over a few downed trees & it started raining on us on the hike out & we got totally drenched but it was definitely worth it! These falls are absolutely beautiful. You can climb up to the top & see where the water starts. Below the falls feels like the air conditioner is on because it’s so cool. We loved it!

Started family trek on final 5 mile+ gravel, bumpy, winding and pot-hole filled road. No official signage for start of trail. We just stopped when we saw other cars parked. There's a footbridge over creek and this trail leads to nowhere. After hiking on wrong trail for 1.5miles, realized we were on wrong trail. Once we got back to car and saw handwritten sign designating arrow to falls, everyone in our group was too cranky, hot and hungry so no one wanted to hike correct trail to falls. State of Georgia should invest in maintaining gravel road better! I'm so surprised we did not get flat tire or damage our car...I would not recommend anyone to put their car or family in jeopardy for this hike to falls. There are other sights to see in Blue Ridge. I would never recommend this one as #1!

Its an easy hike for adults and teenagers, kinda hard to find and a long travel on a dirt road, BUT soooo worth it once you get to the waterfall. ... a must see!

We visit Long Creek Falls every year when we come to Blue Ridge. It's a pretty good ride up the mountain to get to the trailhead but the Noontootla Creek runs alongside the road and it is beautiful in its own right. Then there are three places to view the waterfall that are also great but the first two can be tough to get to. Personally I like the second place along the hike up but they are all really nice. If you like waterfalls don't miss this one.

Be prepared as this is a one mile roughly walk uphill most of the way! Take your time and take water as you will need it! But once there you will see a beautiful falls well worth the walk. Heads up to get to this beauty you will be on rough roads and a jeep is recommended!

My husband and I took our small pup on this hike and we all enjoyed it! The pup especially loved splashing around in the water. Beautiful scenery and lovely waterfall.

The adventure was a pleasant walk with babbling small falls all the way up, then after a short 15 minute walk, you are at the falls. The falls were a lot taller than I suspected and it is a cool walk up and easy on the knees and ankles. It can be a little slippery if wet, so be careful.

We hiked late Saturday afternoon. Almost no one else was one it. Was only 8 miles from our cabin to get to it (probably 4 or 5 miles from town). Next time will do entire loop.

nice 1 mile walk on a level trail to the falls...and they were impressive...the place was deserted so we had a lot of fun on the rocks...and in the spray..

It's a bit of a drive back in to the parking but it's a great peaceful drive. The hike to the falls is very relaxing and scenic. The waterfall is awesome and we really enjoyed it.

The gravel road is a little challenging. The creek on the way was beautiful. The hike was an easy path but a walking stick aids in stability. The falls were beautiful. I would say it took us 40 min to get to the falls and 30 min back. (Downhill). I would say try to go earlier in the day as we were running out of daylight. Make note of your mileage when you go onto the gravel road. I believe it was 5 miles to the path. We enjoyed it after we found it!

I can't count how many pictures I took just getting to the falls - It was just amazing to be in such a beautiful place.

The trail head for this hike is very far out of town! The hike was easy with a nice waterfall at the end. 2 miles round trip. The falls would be a great place to enjoy a picnic and hangout.

This one is a bit of a challenge to get to but well worth it. There is a 5 mile drive on a pot hole ridden gravel road up the mountain that made for lots of bouncing fun in the car. And once you get there, there is a short 1 mile walk about the mountain to reach the falls. Its not a bad walk, even for the moderately healthy. But beware, there is no cell service and GPS (on my phone) was suspect. So be sure to take the written directions to find the falls.

A 5.3 mile drive from where Doublehead Gap Road intersects with FS Road 58. The Noontootla Creek is on the right as u ascend. The trail begins on the north (left) side of the road once u reach Three Forks. Once u have walked about a mile up the trail, turn left at the first sign which will take u to the bottom of the falls for a spectacular view. Great photo spot! U can also take other trails to the top of the falls but the "REAL" wow moment is at the bottom.

A gem of a find. Short hike for 3 teenage girls who love their phones (sorry no cell service). The falls were beautiful, the girls loved playing in the water and exploring the creek. Great outing. We would like to come back and camp along the f.s. road.

easy, comfortable hike for about 30 minutes each way. Waterfall worth the visit. Nice people along the way

Great hike! We took the trail with our 1 year old and had a great time. However, do not bring your jogging stroller since the trail has a lot of roots and up hill sections. If you have little ones get a baby bjorn or any type of carry system! Overall though great hike!

These falls are nice. My wife and I took the short trip out of Blue Ridge, Ga on the last day of our trip. The ride to the parking area was not terrible. It's a dirt road ride for a couple miles but beautiful scenery along the creek. The parking area is small but manageable. The hike to the falls was easy and again beautiful. Nice walk and we loved the falls. Not many visitors that day so it was very peaceful listening to the falls while soaking our feet in the cool water. Great memory and will return to finish our Georgia hikes.

3 generations of family did the 1.1 mile hike into this falls meeting lots of hikers along this part of the Appalachian trail. It is a lovely spot and we spent quite some time at the falls while the boys fished.

We did this short hike (1 mile) up the Benton MacKaye Trail to Long Creek Falls. The hike is easy and the falls are very nice. The rhododendron are everywhere and in a few weeks when they bloom it will be amazing. Lots of nice scenery on the way there. It's a good 2 hour activity.

This is a very nice waterfall on an out of the way location. The trip to it is in itself an adventure! Travel on the “Winding Stair Step” road through beautiful forests and fantastic views of the stream that parallels the road. There are several primitive camping sites along the stream. The waterfall is reached by an easy trail of less than a mile. The waterfall is a great picture taking and picnic spot. You can also easily visit the 270 foot suspension bridge on the BMT & AT which is close to where you come out on hwy 60. If you are traveling from Atlanta to Blue Ridge and like adventure, this is the way to go!

I titled it "We got lost" because you certainly can miss the trail that leads to Long Creek Falls. My husband and I wanted to take our kids on a hike to see some falls. We had a visitors guide and found one that said "easy hike". I asked my husband to check out trip advisor (which is my job..but I was busy) to find out which one might be right for us. He picked this one because of the easy hike and he wanted to avoid the one with the "treacherous road". Sounded good for me so we packed the kids up for a hike.
We had directions (one of the previous reviewers posted the exact directions) and we found the gravel road quite easily. We were supposed to go down the gravel road for 5.1 miles. I read the directions to my husband and he said he "got it". Well we went down that road and immediately noticed it was quite bumpy and a little rough for our Honda Odyssey (good thing we're trading in soon cause this trail took some life off our vehicle).
The directions said when you get close you will notice a beautiful trout creek on the right. It's very very beautiful but that little narrow gravel road that can accommodate one car at a time was right next to the beautiful creek only accessible by falling into a very deep ravine. It was scary. I'm sure many or maybe even most would think I'm hysterical but looking down that cliff while driving down that gravelly (if that's a word), pothole filled, one car road was adrenaline producing for me.
My little ones were asleep in the back so they missed the action but my two oldest were awake to witness me trying to act like I wasn't totally freaked out. Thank god we didn't encounter any other cars. There were points in that road that you could not pass each other unless you wanted to fall off a cliff.
So, going down this road which takes forever cause you can only go about 20 miles per hour, I ask my husband where is this trail and are we at 5.1 miles. He said "ummm not sure". What? There were other trails and campsites along the way but I had no idea where Long Creek Falls were. It was not clearly marked. We actually ended up going way past it. It's painful just thinking about the time we lost. There are no bathrooms out there so it really was not fun to find myself needing to pee. Great! We hadn't even found the falls so I didn't have a choice and had to do the squat thing. Ahh! Thankfully we had paper towels in the car. We turned on a distal road and I got out and did the deed. The boys sprinkled the trees. I was so annoyed by this point I wanted to give up. My oldest said we didn't come this far to not see the falls so we were not going to give up (more than an hour since we turned on that gravel road had passed). No cell reception.
So we turned around and I decided we were going to get out and look around where we saw 2 cars parked on the side of the road. When we passed it the first time we didn't notice any big signs that said "Long Creek Falls" but we had to try. We made it back and there was only one car at that point. We walked around to the trail sign and saw that someone had written an arrow and the word FALLS. It was not obvious to us the first time and that was extremely frustrating.
So, we get out and take a nice nature walk. We didn't see any animals. Found the falls no problem. We walked fast so we got our heart rate up. My seven year old didn't complain. Falls were beautiful and smelled so fresh. Got lots if pictures. We were the only ones there. Found lots of cool rocks along the way. May want look up the types of rocks you might find.
Gotta end this. The way out was easier than the way in. My daughter fondly refers to our trip to the falls as our near death experience. We certainly bonded trying to find those falls and it was sweet victory to make it there and to put our hands in the cool water.
Bottom line. Rocky, narrow, adrenaline producing road (for me at least). Lack of distinct signage stating that you found the right spot. A nice hike that will get your heart rate up. Pretty falls. Great family bonding experience.
My son also said "I so glad we didn't go on the treacherous road! That one was scary enough!" I read the trip advisor reviews and found that this trail is the road of treachery. We laughed about it. If my husband had kept his trails straight we wouldn't have picked this one and would have never experienced the wonderful bonding experience we had that afternoon.
Good kick with your decision!

The 5 mile dirt road to this waterfall is very very bumpy but the one mile walk on the Appalachian trail is easy and pleasant....worth the trip!

if you are looking for a cool dip in the falls, then I suggest taking the short 1 mile hike to Long Falls..Make sure though when you arrive to take the trail on the left side of the road or you will be walking 4.2 miles to nowhere, trust me, we did just that and our 1 mile hike became an 11 mile hike..

Our family of five (kids ages 9, 7, & 3) were able to successfully hike this trail. The falls are beautiful! We took water shoes so we could get in. There’s a small area right below the waterfall where you can wade in a little bit. For those who don’t mind a steeper climb, you can also hike up to the top of the falls. FYI: there’s no restrooms at the start of trail, so it’s a good idea to go before driving up! Also, the road is quite bumpy, so go slow driving in.

It was a pretty view for the hike. However, the upper trail was shut down right before the falls. A sign asked that we go no further.

Perfect hike along a creek which leads to a beautiful waterfall. Steady uphill climb into a mature growth forest was not hard. We hiked with our dogs and they enjoyed it too!

This is a great place for the family if you like adventure and not in a hurry. Great photo opps but a long bumpy drive on gravel road and about a thirty minute hike to the falls. But it is a beautiful hike and not too hard. My children 8 and 6 were fine.

Hike is pretty easy and beautiful to walk through. We made a left before a steep hill and I think we turned too soon. We were at the top of the falls so I never saw them looking forward. What I saw was very pretty though but don't know if I'd try this trail again. Also we drove to it from Nimblewill Church road and we drove for over an hour on a dirt road through the forest and it was endless so don't enter from that way if you're pressed for time.

This was a little bit off the beaten track, but totally worth it. An easy beautiful hike and a waterfall to enjoy at the end.

Great hike with beautiful scenery along the way! Cool crisp Spring Day with peaceful falls makes for a romantic getaway!

The road to get there is not paved and there is not phone reception so i advice you used a conventional gps that has satellite signal. Is not hard to find! And it is so worthy ! gorgeous place a must see!

This hike isn't far at all. Maybe a 10-15 min hike to the falls from the parking area. It takes you out to a small platform that you can stand on in front of the falls and take pictures. The hike up is easy for any age.

We made this a last stop on a day exploring the forest and it was a perfect ending! The drive is a bit hairy but well worth it. The hike is perfectly manageable at any skill level. Loved it!

This is just a relatively short walk (30 minutes) once you park your vehicle. Such a beautiful ride in the forest to get there.

It was an easy hike to a beautiful view of the fall. Took our time in the evening listened to the sounds of nature. Excellent nice trails in the area too
Highly recommended

Wow, we were pleasantly surprised! The walk was pleasant and the falls were stunning!!! I recommend this to everyone, the trek in isn't difficult. It is not paved (for wheel chairs). We are going back again this weekend:)

This is a 4 km round trip from the trailhead to the Falls. It’s mostly easy-going but you do have to be careful of protruding roots and rocks that litter the pathway. Well worth the effort when you get there – the falls are pretty spectacular.

The drive was insane in a van and the hike was a pain after days and days of hiking, but the falls are beautiful! The way there is a tiny, one lane, unpaved rocky road littered with holes, so be warned.

We enjoyed this hike. The falls are beautiful and the scenery was amazing this time of year. The hike itself was moderate to easy.
Read other reviews before going! We didn't :( and ended up going the "long" way in/out which consisted of going up a narrow bumpy road. Sounds like the other way would have been much easier!

Make sure to get a map at the chamber of commerce. There is NO CELL SERVICE where you are going! Make sure you have good tires. Make sure you don't get car sick.....you drive 13.5 miles down one curvy road then about 5 miles on another curvy road and then the real fun begins...5.3 miles on an unpaved, curvy forest service road! MAKE SURE YOU PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR MILEAGE ON THIS ROAD OR YOU WILL PASS YOUR DESTINATION!! There is NOT a sign! Park anywhere you can and then you have a 1.1 mile hike up the Appalachian Trail. You will hear what you think is the falls about halfway up but keep going until you see the sign that says "long creek falls" and turn left....WELL WORTH IT! Bring a picnic and water shoes and enjoy!!!

Took my wife's new 2wd SUV to the falls. Not the smartest decision I've made as the last 5 miles or so is gravel, mud, rocks and holes. Much of it in good condition. But would've been happier taking my truck.
Made it to the trail head and dragged my 9 year old down the trail. The trail was fairly easy but I think I may have missed a turn staying on the main path seemed to take me away from the falls. I probably should've hiked down to the river at some point. But we still saw the falls from afar and enjoyed our adventure.

There are several miles of Forest Service Road to get to the trail head. Parking is pretty limited and we ended up going on past the trail head and finding a place in the road wide enough we could park. Nice hike and fairly easy.

My wife and I were up from Atlanta looking for something to do. I pulled directions from Mapquest to locate Long Creek Falls. After driving for a while on some Forrest Access Roads we came upon what we believed was the location to hike towards the falls. However, because it was not marked very well we had to ask other hikers if we were in the right place. After hiking about 1 mile we came up on an intersection of different paths one of which was to the falls but it was a bit confusing. We did make to the falls which was beautiful. The water was very clear and cold. The ride back to Atlanta got interesting as I took the wrong road had to dive a while until I figured out how to get out of the mountains.

It is a very long drive to get to the beginning of the path to hike to the falls. It is made more daunting by the fact it is narrow and gravel for about 5 miles and vehicles must drive slowly to get around each other. The turns are not well marked so get specific directions with mileage or you will never find it. Once you are there, its great. The paths are well maintained and are family oriented. Its about a 2 mile loop. The one thing I will say is that you have to leave the path to see the falls and some of that is a bit treacherous, so if you have mobility issues, or small children you will be ok on the path but may not get to see the falls. They are very pretty and peaceful.

Nice falls for photos and getting your feet wet. The trailhead is confusing because three trails go through at this pt. Walk the trail headed NW from the road and then you will see the marker after you walk along for maybe 200 ft. About half way to the falls, there is a fallen log across the trail and you can see/hear water falls to your left. These are not the falls you are hiking to, but are pretty although wooded. Continue on up the trail until you see the marker pointing left to the falls.

Nice hike to falls, a few areas of moderate uphill hiking, but the reward is the beautiful falls at the end!

The hike is great, but the not if you're expecting the waterfall to be the highlight. It is 0.9 miles there, then back 0.9 miles. The view of the waterfall is very limited in the summer.

The falls are beautiful. It should be noted that the hike to get there is very short from the parking area, so don't plan this as a whole day event. Very good, however, for a morning or half-day.

Quite lovely and very peaceful! There was a pretty long dirt road drive to get there. Hang in there it is worth the drive!.

You can enter from the north or south. Approaching from the south (by Amicalola falls) is the rough road! Enter from the north, and exit the same way!
We were at Bert's pumpkin farm, headed to the falls, which is south by Amicalola, and went on the rough road. 7 miles of bumpy, narrow, gravel road. I thought we would tear the oil pan off a few times. We also saw no other humans, obviously we were the only ones dumb enough to try this route.
We went out the other way. It was a very nice, smooth, scenic route! I recommend you go in and out on that same road.
Very worth the trip!

Drive to Three Forks and it is a 1.1 mile hike in from the parking area. Moderate ascents but not that difficult. Well worth the hike. Plan about 2-3 hours round trip

Look up directions ahead of time on Georgiatrails.com on how to get to Long Creek Falls! They were extremely helpful and excellent!
***DO NOT follow the pin on trip advisor....it will lead you to a dead end road and someone’s house. ***
When you get into the area you will have NO cell phone service or GPS so make sure you have written down the directions or taken a screen shot of them otherwise you won’t be able to pull them up. Like I said above, the directions to get there on Georgiatrails.com are excellent and are what we used. Had no problems following them and getting there using them.
Once you get to the parking area/pull off we followed the signs and found Long Creek Falls no problem. The previous reviews said they were hard to find and the signs were confusing....we didn’t have any problem at all! It takes a LONG time to drive out to this location....but the hike is not long (about a mile in total) and the falls are definitely worth it at the end!
Excellent! Loved it.

Very scenic and good hike!!!love it!!!!the trails were a good challenge and there's little ereas where you can explore down near the water. Very picturesque!!The drive to the trail is an adventure of its own. Rough drive but worth it!

All of the trails we hiked during our visit, (6 days), were fantastic. Long Creek was spectacular. Great hike, trail clearly marked, beautiful forest.

We happen to be blessed enough to be part time residents of Blue Ridge, GA and Noontootla is only about 20 minutes from our mountain home there. It's only a gentle 1.1 mi hike to the falls and once you get there you won't want to leave its so beautiful. The falls are absolutely gorgeous! And so many other places to hike and just walk in the National Forest. Just take my word for it and GO, you will love love love it!

The hike to these falls is a mile, it varies in ease of walking but we saw people of all ages make the trek. The falls at the end are absolutely stunning and it is well worth the time to get there. Lots of places to sit and soak in the natural ambiance, bring a meal or snack to enjoy before your return.

Very easy trail for multiple ages. Beautiful Falls. Long ride in to get there, but worth it because of the scenery. I suggest an SUV or Truck to get here.

Beautiful but long drive to falls. We went in the winter so can only imagine how much more beautiful the drive would be in the spring /fall! 5 miles of the trip was on an unpaved, windy forest road (not recognized on Google maps). Could miss the trail if you go at a time that no one else is there. Make sure to follow the signs because we accidentally went over the footbridge and began the hike and then realized we went the wrong way. We should have taken the trail on the opposite side of the footbridge (we somehow missed the sign!). The hike was 1.1 miles each way and we took our 2.5 year old who my husband carried on his shoulders. The falls were very pretty. If we go back I would consider bringing a light picnic to eat by the falls. Fun experience!

The hike to the falls is about a mile long and is mostly easy, making it a great one for beginning or casual hikers. The falls themselves are more impressive than the Fall Branch Falls, with a larger cascade. It is also possible to fairly easily wade into the water and go under the falls. A slight caution, the trail passes close to the creek where we heard and spotted other smaller falls, and there are smaller trails branching off in order to get a closer look at various spots of the creek. This made me worry at first that I had somehow missed the actual falls. Continue until you reach the sign at the fork where you can turn left to visit the falls or right to join the other trails.
Coming from the north, there is about five miles of narrow gravel road that is a bit slow going, in order to reach this trail.

For this years anniversary trip we wanted to travel to a different place. We selected North Georgia and WOW what an impact it made on us. We did a little shopping, a lot of relaxing and visited the local waterfalls. Long Creek Falls is totally mind blowing. The trek up the root laden path was a bit for my wife (I did just fine) but we absolutely agree the experience was so worth it. We absolutely recommend visiting Long Creek Falls. Please bring a camera. We promise you won't be disappointed.

I loved this falls because of the surroundings. Serene, peaceful, lush surroundings as you take the easy walk to the falls itself. The falls is lovely and its on the driving tour we took. Don't miss it!

Easy hike, lovely creek. Be careful on the rocks- I twisted my ankle. The 1 mile hike takes anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour if you're stopping for pictures.

Great little hike for families with children and dogs. Just two miles round-trip and easy hiking to a nice waterfall. Good to go during the week as I’ve heard it gets crowded on weekends. The road to the falls was not bad at all. We did it in a Honda Accord with no problem, whatsoever. Definitely worth the trip if you are looking for a short, easy hike.

The drive from Blue Ridge was longer than we expected but it was well worth it. We hiked with our 2 kids (10 and 5), it was a good distance for all of us. The road up there has a lot of holes but if we could make it in a Ford Fusion I'm sure most people can handle it! There is not a big sign showing the trail for the fall and parking is only on the side of the road so make sure you're looking after 5 miles on the dirt road.

Will be going in 3 weeks! Cant wait! How is the 5 mile dirt road for a hyundai elantra? I read mixed reviews on it. Is there well marked signs to the waterfall?

Nice hike for pups to cool off in the stream. Moderate hike to scenic falls. Very people friendly and well marked trail

This is a very scenic trail to hike with the beautiful falls at the end. Some areas have a lot of roots and rocks to navigate along with some hills so I would say it is a moderately difficult hike for a novice. Very long gravel road to get to the trailhead, but it is very beautiful as the road follows the scenic river.

The 5 miles of forest service road leading to the trail head is a bit tough; a truck or four wheel drive would be preferable.
The trail up to the falls is rough. You have to watch your feet the whole time and it's hard to enjoy the beauty around you. You should wear good shoes. The distance isn't long about 1.5 miles to the falls but it wasn't a fun hike. The drive in was more enjoyable because you see the creek the whole way.

My wife and I took this trail during a recent visit in Chattanooga. It was a relaxing way to spend the afternoon.
Long Creek Falls Trail is a 2.2 mile trail located near Blue Ridge, Georgia that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible year-round.
Directions from Blue Ridge: Take GA Hwy. 515 .8 mile east to Windy Ridge Road. Turn right and go .2 mile to the dead end with Old US Hwy. 76. Turn left, go .2 miles to Aska Rd. Turn right and go 13.5 miles to the end of the road. Turn right on Newport Road, go 4.5 miles. Turn left onto Doublehead Gap Road, and continue .8 mile to the intersection with USFS Road 58 on the right. Turn onto USFS 58 and go 5.3 miles to Three Forks. Noontootla Creek, a great trout stream is on your right as you go up the hill.

"Easy" and fun hike to a beautiful waterfall. Being from Florida and used to flat land, this uphill hike definitely wore me out! However, the 1-mile hike was great for beginners like me and led to a great view. When we got there, my husband enjoyed cooling off by swimming in the waterfall. I was thankful for the downhill hike back to the car! There were several little paths off the main path that led to little falls and running water. These were pretty, but made the hike more difficult. The drive to get to the parking area was a trek - if you think you are lost you're probably on the right path! Definitely would recommend this hike if you are in the area!

Long Creek Falls is a located in a gorgeous forest. It is a bit of a hike, but really worth it- a must see!

just a 20 minute drive from our cabin and a 15 minute hike takes you to a beautiful waterfall with nice views. it was a little slippery cause it had rained.. but nothing a hiking stick couldn't fix. LOVE IT

This is a hidden gem! It’s located in a wildlife management area. The road going in is gravel and can be challenging. I don’t recommend a car. Small suv or bigger vehicle is good.
Road in is 5 miles. Very peaceful and the waterfall does not disappoint! Very pretty and you can get up close and feel the spray of the falls. Hike in is easy and great wide trail.
They do have campsites off the trail if you wish to camp!

Near town and a short walk from parking area. Falls are beautiful most Seasons. Can be muddy if it has been rainy. Trail well traveled and usually in goodshape.

The mile long hike is fairly flat, wide, and easy to navigate. The 5.5 miles of forest service road that access the trailhead are narrow, rocky and difficult to navigate if any cars approach from the opposite direction. The drive is lovely, following along the river, but it us not relaxing, nor quick. Plan on going only 15 mph.

This was my #1 to do on my blue ridge list and it did not disappoint. The drive along the forest service road was not nearly as bad as I was expecting from some other posts. Just a hint, if you arrive when no one else is around to point to the trail, take the trail on the left as you drive in--the trail leading up into the forest and not the trail leading down on the right. I agree with other posters, it must be more than the 1.1 mile each way advertised, but only one ascent was a little bit challenging. Nice area with smooth rocks you can sit on and picnic at the waterfall. Very enjoyable walk back out going gently downhill. My 75 year old mother was able to do this trail with two canes. Way to go mom. Beautiful trout stream along the path where you can fish along the wAy but check the regulations since this is in the national forest. Other serious back packers/hikers will be along this trial as this is part of the Benton Mackaye trail. This outing left me with a smile on my face the entire rest of the day. Don't miss it.

Not too difficult to find. The last couple miles of driving are on a gravel road that is maintained. Once you start out on the trail, there are actually several different small waterfalls that you can access from the main trail before you get to Long Creek Falls. Get there by mid morning to avoid a crowd.

I'm probably not in the greatest of shape and this hike proves it. If I can stop and rest a couple times, this is a great hike. I have some knee problems and a lot of the hike is uphill so it's kind of tough on my knees. But, it's still something I can do. We take a backpack with waters and apples and sit at the falls and enjoy the beautiful views.
We camp just down the road on FS58, all primitive camping. Campsites fill up fast during the Fall. There is some parking on either side of the road for the waterfall hike. This is where the Appalachian/Benton MacKaye Trails all meet.
There is a carving on the rock by the falls, I was always told it was an Indian carving, not sure of the truth to that.
To get there from Dawsonsville, GA - you take 52 West to Rackley Road, if you get to Mack Aaron's Apple House, you've just passed it. Take Rackley Road to Roy Road and turn right. Take Roy Road to Doublehead Gap Rd and follow it until it becomes a dirt road. You'll pass Fellowship Primitive Church and make a hard right at the fork in the road on to FS 58 (Forest Service Road 58). Stay on this dirt road and you'll see signs for the trail and some parking for the hike.
Highlight of our trip!!
We had two families with young children (9, 6,5) and we made this an adventure! The drive was long, especially the 5 mile drive up the mountain on the gravel road. We have an SUV and we were fine, but as you are going up its a little nerve wrecking because you have no service and you feel like you are going forever. Definitely map your miles, because then you know how far you need to go. Once we got to the trail, there were several cars, hikers, and campers. It's very popular and we saw many families hiking. The one mile hike to the falls was easy, a few hills, but easy for kids. When you get to the falls it's absolutely beautiful! Sounds and sights are amazing. Some tips: no bathrooms, so be prepared with toilet paper for the ladies. Pack a lunch. When we got back to the car, we ate a picnic lunch overlooking the steam. Beautiful. The way down was so much more relaxing because we weren't as nervous. I would definitely recommend attacking this waterfall. It was a really fun adventure that our family will never forget. Just be prepared with gas, water, snacks, and first aid.
