If coming from the south, you will see cars parked as much as .3 miles away on the right in the form of a wide shoulder. There is a smaller area about .2 mile past.
Be careful if you want walk to the bottom - the mist has everything wet so you have to be careful with the camera.

Easy viewing of these falls. Park your car on the sides of the road, walk down the staircase and you're there. For those who don't do stairs, the falls are perfectly viewable from the top.

It is a beautiful roadside waterfall. It can be viewed from road or you can go down stairs for a closer look. Be sure to stop for a look. This was probably my favorite stop in the 276

My 6 year old loved swimming in the water here. It was crystal clear! The falls are just so beautiful!

Hard to describe such a beautiful view waterfall and only a few steps from the roadside parking. No cost too. Continue driving to the next great view in this national park.

Better pictures are on my camera so hopefully these from my phone are good enough to show you how stunning the waterfall is. The fact that the road is right next to the falls is very appealing as we never know if I am going to have a good knee day or a bad one. It was a good one when we visited the falls and the stairs were easy to navigate.
This side trip is worth taking since hiking is not required to be able to enjoy this beautiful slice of heaven.

Exquisite waterfall in Pisgah National Forest. Just a five mile drive from the Brevard entrance to the forest on the right hand side of the road. Then a quick walk/climb (not even a hike) because it's all stairs down to the falls. Beautiful thundering waterfall with a swimming hole at the bottom!
FYI...if you enter the forest from the Brevard side like we did. Once you reach the Looking Glass Park sign you can park there but I suggest to keep driving because the staircase to the actual falls is another 1/2 mile walk.

This waterfall has many visitors, so parking could be a problem. There are several stairs. Swimming is allowed. They should do a better job of maintaining the shrubbery so the view is not obstructed. Also, wireless and navigation is spotty on US 276.

Enjoyed every moment of Looking Glass Falls! One of the prettiest falls I’ve visited! I could feel the peace of nature and freedom within my spirit as I Stood next to this 70 or so foot waterfall allowing the water to splash up and blow across my face.

We didn’t get in the water but listened to the waterfall for at least 30 minutes. It’s beautiful!!! Worth parking and going to. Next time we will definitely get in and swim.

This is our favorite waterfall so far on our trip. It is quite impressive and a very easy walk !!! People were playing in the waterfall and seemed to be having fun. The car ride in the Pisgah Forest to the Falls was beautiful! Definitely plan to see this waterfall !!!

One of the nicest falls we happened across during our visit to the area - other than finding parking, this one is easy to get to. You can get a view basically just off the side of the road, although the view gets more picturesque as you go down the steps toward the base of the falls. It was very busy, but we still managed to get some good pictures. It's worth taking the time to visit!

Perfect waterfall for pictures and viewing. Close to the road so no long walks to get to it. Traveling down to the base of the falls is by stairs so it’s safe and accessible, but you don’t have to go down to enjoy it.

This is a beautiful waterfall with easy access off of highway 276. Go in the morning if you want good pictures (and before the crowds descend).

Wish we had been dressed to swim and had been able to get in the water. It was so pretty.
Lots of people but it was fun to watch kids swimming and playing in the water.
Observation: the parking is along the road. Drive up to where the falls are before just parking at the first place you see. Many people do not stay long so spaces close to the stairs to the falls open up often.

As waterfalls go, Looking Glass is average. If you visit on a busy weekend expect a long walk after finding place to park on side of narrow road. Long stairs down to pond at base of falls, lots of rocks to navigate to wade in water. Worthwhile to the adventurous.

This is a must see fall it is spectacular! dont forget sliding rock is just a few miles away go try this natural rock waterslide out it's lots of whole family fun!

We absolutely loved this place. We spent the next day at chimney rock and hiked the LONG LONG walk to the Hickory Nut Falls only to be disappointed by the trickle. We wished we had just come back here. The water is cold, but after you get in it is so refreshing. Swimming in the front of the falls is an awesome experience. I coaxed another woman and her daughter in and she thanked me about half an hour later when she was still swimming in the front of the falls! Definitely coming back here.

We stopped at the falls after a day of other activities. There is parking right along the road. You can see the falls from the road or you can walk down the stairs to the bottom of the falls for a different view. We were there in October so the fall colors just added to the beauty of the waterfall.

Wonderful stop along the drive through Pisgah! You are able to get fairly close to the falls! Great picture opportunities.

The falls were easily accessible. Plenty of parking on the side of the road. Most of all, the drive and the falls were quite beautiful. Worth the drive.

Truly a gem to find an easy to access waterfall with such beauty. There are stairs that lead to the base of the waterfall and a swimming hole. Definitely add this to your Western NC bucket list.

Just passing through and glad we came here.
Such a beautiful place, wading through the water with the falls roaring away next to you.
Just be careful walking towards the falls, the rocks are very slippy under foot and gets quite deep.
A little too deep for me, well worth a visit and with sliding rock just up the road you really are spoilt.

Incredible! We went late August and there were not the crowds others were complaining about. It was very powerful and beautiful. I wasn’t sure it was worth the drive, but so glad we did it. The drive itself is also beautiful with several picnic stops along the road. You can view the falls from the road if you don’t want to take the steps down. But if you don’t, you won’t feel the power of the falling water!

Beautiful and easily accessible. We had just gotten done swimming at Sliding Rock, otherwise we would have gotten closer and enjoyed the swimming hole and spray but maybe next time!

Expect to park some distance from the falls along the road. The walking path down to the falls is somewhat steep so hold on to the wooden rails. Looking Glass is almost always busy since it is so easy to get to from the road. Take off your shoes and wade out to in front of the falls and enjoy the strong mist blowing from the waterfall! The water is cold and the rocks are slippery! I have seen Looking Glass Falls freeze up during cold winters!

Easy place to stop for a quick but beautiful waterfall view. Definitely worth the few minute stop on your way by.

Large, beautiful falls. If you can find the parking, it is right along the road. In summer, it is very crowded with people at all hours. The heat of the day is worse. Not easy to get pictures without people in their swimsuit in them. You can go a bit further down the river for a less populated spot to view the falls, but there will still be people. You can feel the spray from the falls pretty far back.

Easy to get to. It's right off the road... just a few steps down to it. Beautiful sight! My husband, who has health issues was able to see it from the road, without climbing down.

Right off the main road! You can’t get in the water though. Parking is tricky and watch your kids carefully. You have to park on the side of the road.

What a beautiful sight!! We loved getting in and up and close to this gorgeous water fall!! Kids loved it. Wear shoes!!

Easy walk from the highway. Small parking area. Popular because it’s so easy to reach. Makes for an impressive photo and a romantic spot if you get here very early.

Very fun falls to go to. Stairs go from the road down to the fall so it isn't terribly difficult. It isn't advised, but you an take a bit of a hard/dangerous path to the back of the falls as well.

You can view the Waterfall from the top and as well get to the bottom very easily . Clear water and must do while in Pisgah and en route to blue ridge parkway . Just a few steps from parking lot . As a fact , you can view these falls from your car as well !

What a beautiful waterfall. There are so many in North Carolina, but none I think as accessible as this one. I would advise arriving early if you want a parking spot.

There are nine waterfalls at Pisgah National Park! Looking Glass Falls is one of the most convenient and easily accessible so it’s easy to check out regardless of time and energy. There are great photo spots along the road or you can walk down a flight of stairs to get closer. If you’re more adventurous, you can swim under the falls, wade in the creek, or just explore along the rocks. We really enjoyed the refreshing water and spent a good amount of time here. This area is also popular for hiking and climbing. There is an easy trail to the falls and a more difficult trail to the top of the falls to Looking Glass Rock (you an also climb the rock).

Can't always get the best pictures though due to the sun's position, but still very nice and well worth climbing down the stairs for a better view.

Such a beautiful place. Lovely place to swim and enjoy the lovely views. Very limited parking so be prepared for a possible long walk but it is worth it. A bit crowded on the day we went.

The falls surpassed our expectations! It was very easy access, right on the road. Plenty of parking although we noticed some cars had to park farther along the road. Nice steps to get down to the bottom of the falls. Very beautiful and a must see!

One of the easiest to get to from the highway and a tall wide waterfall. This is one we'll go to in the rain or when it shinning...got to be beautiful during the moonlight.

Lots of parking right off the road. You walk down a flight of steps and there’s a big beautiful waterfall. Probably the easiest big waterfall to get to in this region. If you have a member of your party who can’t climb the steps down, they can still enjoy the waterfall from the overlook at the top while you climb down. It’s quick so they won’t be waiting long for you.

A beautiful falls easy to see- no walking necessary unless you want to walk down the stairs to the bottom of the Falls. Close to the entrance of the park!

There is limited parking. When we went on a Thursday afternoon in July, cars were parked along the side of the road, which is a 2-lane mountain parkway. Not a safe place to walk with children. Go first thing to have better parking safety and less crowds. Get a map of local waterfalls from the Brevard visitor center to see other; this is the most crowded but extremely cool.

Beautiful waterfall that is visible from the road. You can take the well-built stairs down to the waterfall for a closer look but if walking or stairs are problem you can definitely see the waterfall from the road. Enjoyed it very much!

The falls are right on the roadway. There's a pull-off parking area, and just a short flight of stairs to get down to the base of the falls. (Or just stay at the top.) Definitely worth a stop if you're driving through the Pisgah National Forest.

Located In Pisgah Forest. It is located right next to the road. It has steps down to view the falls from a lower level. People get into the water at the base of the falls

Love this place just walk down some stairs next to the road and look at the waterfall. For a better angle walk from rock to rock until you are standing in front of the fall on a larger square shaped rock in the river for the best photo and view.. get there early as it gets crowded later I visited at 7:00 am and found it nice and quiet. Also had good informational signs. I don’t think it is handicap accessible at the bottom of the falls but can be view from the road. Enjoy if your in the area.

This is probably not the best falls in the Pisgah National Forest or Brevard area, but it's one of the better ones and is clearly the most accessible as it's immediately beside Hwy. 276. The easy access also makes it crowded. So, if possible, avoid holidays and Saturdays in the summer and Fall leaf season.

Driving through Pisgah National Forest on US 278 looking for photography opportunities. This waterfall has one of the best locations from an access and vertical drop standpoint. You can see the falls from the road or walk down a short staircase to get up close. Free.

Very popular falls to visit- does get very busy and parking does get tricky.. Great views with safe staircase descending to the bottom. Quite marvelous to observe.. Free, well worth stopping.

There are so many things to do at Pisgah Forest but by far this is one of the best. You can park along the road and a short walk and some steps down and you can literally swim under this waterfall. There are lots of families and kids and adults all in the water and on the rocks enjoying the atmosphere and taking photos. The water is quite chilly even in July - I'm told it was under 60 degrees. We're from Florida so that is really cold for us - some didn't seem to mind at all! No changing rooms or bathrooms or towels so come prepared.

Incredible waterfall, and it's right off the road. You can walk down the stairs for a closer look and to feel the mist. Nice picture opportunity.

This is probably one of the most gorgeous waterfalls in the NC mountains. You can see it very well from the road, there is also a viewing platform at the top for handicapped so it is ADA accessible as well. The stairs can be a bit strenuous for small children or adults with bad knees (like myself) but there is nothing like getting in that cold mountain water on a hot day!

Short easy hike to a beautiful waterfall. You can play in the water and even swim under the fall. Great time for families.

Looking glass falls is good for all since not a lot of waling required.. easy steps and a pretty good waterfall. some people went in the water but the stones were slippery and I would not recommend doing that unless very careful.

After a lovely drive through the Pisgah Forest, you can park on the street and take a short walk up the sidewalk to discover a gorgeous 60' waterfall worthy of lots of photos. If you want to get closer, take the staircase down to the water. There are rocks to climb and water to swim. The day we were there, multiple photo shoots were taking place including a bridal party. If you love nature, this is easily accessible and worth a drive. There aren't bathrooms at the falls but some in the park nearby. Also, several good restaurants at the entrance to the park. Fun for all ages!

The month of May was very wet and the speed and velocity of the water showed it.
The falls are beautiful. Would be better to hike to it then walk on concrete and stairs.

The sound of the tumbling water over sheer rock walls is soothing yet powerful. You can feel the mist rolling off the falls. Short walk to falls. Steps lead down to fall's pool. parking on side of road.

This is a beautiful waterfall in the Pisgah National Forest. It's easily accessible - just park along the main road and view it from above, or take the little stairway down to get a view from below. It took us about 45 minutes to drive here from Asheville. If you're in the area, you can also visit Sliding Rock which is nearby. We came in September, and it wasn't at all crowded. Definitely worth seeing. Great for those who don't have time for a long hike.

Probably one of the most accessible waterfall I've ever been to. Just pop off the side of the road at Pigsah and hop down a few steps (with intermittent viewing platforms) and get sprayed in the face by a beautiful waterfall. Lots of dogs here are well!

One of the best spots in Western North Carolina. Whether you are hiking or just cooling off it is not to be missed.

Since we are not really hikers, and we did want to find waterfalls to photograph, this was a great find for us. Lots of roadside parking, and an observation deck in case you don't want to climb down the dozens of steps to the bottom of the falls. You can climb on the rocks and fallen trees (which we did) to get a better view, and it is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! Go in the afternoon for the best photos, because of the location of the sunshine.

Stopped around 9 am on a Saturday and got to park right up by the falls. Took 2 of our young Granddaughters. You can see right from the top but there are stairs down with a couple different landings with beautiful views of the falls.

An easy stop by the side of the road, and a few hubdred steps to the bottom. By the falls are spectacular.

Looking glass waterfall is right off the road ...easy access with upper deck and lower deck. Very beautiful!!!

Pretty waterfall with easy access off the side of the road. There's parking along the road and stairs to the bottom of the falls. Definitely worth a stop.

Park and walk down steps to impressive waterfall. If you don't like hiking through woods this is the one to go to.

We sought this out simply because we wanted to see a falls up close and personal without having to hike through the woods. This is noisy and beautiful - sixty foot drop - and lots of stairs if you want to walk down to the bottom.......but you will get wet! Definitely worth a few miles down 276. Plenty of parking along the road, too.

So this fall is right along the road. No hiking to get there. And you can walk right down and get wet. A nice platform for pics and some mountains to climb for the more adventurous. We spend a few hours here w grandson and had a blast. Dog friendly too!
Highly recommend

Arrive early or midweek off season as this is a popular stop off in Pisgah National Forest. The falls are very pretty and there was a lot of water on our visit even though a lack of rain.

This was my favorite waterfalls of the 4 I went to during my trip to the mountains. It was impressive and easily accessible with a lookout on the side of the road with easy stairs going down to the base. It was more of a drive from the Blue Ridge Parkway than I was expecting but well worth it!

The falls were an easy drive right outside of Brevard. No hiking involved drive up but if you want to go to the bottom there are quite a few stairs to go down. With the rains in the area the water was rushing.

The falls are stunning in winter with the snow and frozen landscape. The road up is well maintained, and it was not iced over. The stairs down were slippery, but it was doable. The Pisgah highway is a lovely drive up, and it is worth the time!

We visited five of the waterfalls in this area of the park, and this was probably the most beautiful. We arrived early and it was easy to park and get up and down the steps without a crowd. We drove by later in the afternoon and it was packed and people were having to park and walk a good bit to get to it.
This waterfall was exactly what I expected in a waterfall, but was bigger than what I expected. Most of the other falls require more exploration but they are all so different.

Park and walk down the sidewalk and the falls is right there. Great one for elderly or those who can't walk far to see.

This is a beautiful waterfall. You can swim around it and even stand under it if you'd like. There are stairs that lead to the bottom from the road. Even for those with physical challenges that can't do stairs can enjoy it from a lookout point near the road. It was fairly crowded when we went. The one bad part is that a couple with dogs allowed their dog to poop in the water. There were people swimming all around. Not only is this really bad for the people, but it's bad for the streams. Be warned that if you're swimming, watch for people that just aren't considerate of the well-being of others and will allow their dogs in the same water to poop in. It's very pretty - it's a shame that people are either too dumb or too inconsiderate to understand the health risks of allowing this. Overall, it's worth seeing. Just be mindful of the risks if you choose to swim. There are no rangers monitoring the people that take their animals in the water. There is a visitors center as you enter the Pisgah National Forest prior to reaching the falls. It's a good place to get information on waterfalls and hiking in the area. There are also restrooms here and a gift shop. Highly recommend using the restroom there before driving further up the mountain. Its clean and convenient. Plenty of parking, as well.
Parking at the waterfall is a little more tedious. Most cara have to park on the side of the road and wall to the falls.

I've been visiting this area for over 50yrs and it never gets old.one of the most beautiful places in the mountains.

The waterfall was beautiful and the water was crystal clear (although a little cold). There were so many different spots to sit and enjoy looking at the falls. It was a little crowded, but to be expected in the middle of the summer.

The Falls are quite large and beautiful. My kids enjoyed swimming in the shallow part of the pool and playing on the rocks. We went on a holiday weekend and had trouble finding a parking spot. There were also lots of people on the stairs. Still worth a visit!

This is a very easy walk right out the road. The Fall is beautiful, great for pictures. Although there are stairs, you can still see the fall without going all the way down the stairs. It's a nice quick stop

Gorgeous falls! Definitely worth visiting even though it’s pretty busy. It’s easy to find, well marked, with plenty of parking. Don’t miss it if you’re in the area!

Beautiful spot just off the road. Take the stairs down in order to get the full effect. I’m certain it gets busy on the weekends but it’s worth it.

Worth the visit. These falls are beautiful not crowded and easily accessible to walk down the stairs and get pretty close.

This Main Road Side Thundering Waterfall is one of my Favorites. So accessible, so Beautiful, its rushing crystal clear waters drop magnificently into a deep pool where its Fun to Splash In, Dive in, or just toe in.
And EASY PARKING in the roadside slots allow quick access to the nice stairs down to the POOL at the drop of the falls. PERFECT‼️
And just up the Mountain a bit on this same road is SLIDING ROCK NATIONAL PARK. A big hit with the kids and young adults.
Plus, a few miles further up and the Blue Ridge Parkway intersection allows a quick 2 mile south drive to FAMOUS SKINNY DIP FALLS. Thats the overly crowded parking lot but a 10 minute easy trail and hike to the falls and super swimming HOLE at the base of those beautiful FALLS.
ENJOY‼️

This is an absolute beauty of a waterfall. Very high volume, and you can just stop your vehicle at the pullout on the side of the road to view it.

Huge, powerful waterfall with easy access. Multiple viewing points. Beautiful drive through the park.

We took all 10 of us ranging from 9 years old to 76 years old to this falls that is literally right off the side of the road. There is a viewing area right at road level, or there is a series of well built wooded stairs that will take you the short distance to the base of the falls. Our visit was Thanksgiving weekend and the falls themselves were absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend a visit when you are in the area of Pisgah National Forest.

Looking Glass Falls is a great name for this glowing beauty! The fall is right beside the road and anyone can access this fall even if you have mobility issues. What a beautiful rush of adrenaline you get from hearing the sound this fall makes. 60 foot waterfall in The Pisgah Forest.

Second falls of the day was Looking Glass Falls. This one, if you're willing, you can actually scramble up the rocks and get behind the falling water. I did not do this.

Pretty and easy drive up through the forest to the falls. Once there you can see the falls perfectly from where you park (which was no problem this time of year), but an easy walk down the steps to the bottom. The ranger station/gift shop was closed on weekends, which surprised me -- when do they think people are up there??

Right off the road but it’s usually very crowded. And parking can be a nightmare. It’s worth going to though with great photograph opportunities.

If you are in the forest you have got to stop at looking glass falls. Such an easy stop and a beautiful view right from the side of the road. Keep your eyes open though or you will zoom right past it.

I always enjoy stopping here to watch the falls regardless of the season. The falls are beautiful and the viewing areas are easy to access. Be prepared for lots of visitors here as it is a popular spot to stop.

Easy access, handicapped accessible views. Highly recommend if you are near Brevard, NC. Be sure and eat Hawg Wild BBQ and Dolly's ice cream after your visit nearby.

This place is amazing. 2nd time I have visited. Last time was 10 years ago and it is still exactly the same. Love it.

This scenic view and stop are directly off the Pisgah highway. There is limited parking along the side of the road that has the falls. The waterfall is right off the road and easy to see from the sidewalk. It is a plunge waterfall that looked about 30 feet across at the top with about an 80-foot plunge into a broad pool. The viewing platform is about 200 feet from the falls with about ½ of that distance covered by rock/ground above water and the rest is the pool that the water cascades into. For the adventurous, you can descend several concrete (wide) steps to get to the bottom where there is a platform for you to take pictures or just enjoy the view. The really adventurous people in your group can go beyond the walkway and stand right by the falls. I have even seen pictures of people in the water although I would recommend staying on the walkway and viewing platform for your safety. Overall, a very nice stop off the Pisgah highway that has a very nice view and is easy to access, and provides great pictures in various seasons. Enjoy!

I have never spent time in the mountains like this, it was beautiful. We had been over to Sliding Rock falls and decided to drive over and have a look and it was well worth it. Get out and see nature, put down your phone.

This was the easiest and most convenient waterfall to get to with an almost 8 month old. You can literally drive right up to it. I would definitely recommend visiting!

Take a trip into the Pisgah Forest. Don't miss one of the most photographed falls in the area. You can park and observe from the road or venture down the staircase to view from below. Can be very busy in summer months

Can't beat this for a nice and easy visit to a waterfall! Large waterfall just of the road! Paved walk area for safe access. No

Beautiful beyond words!!!! Easy access and great for photos. Great place for engagement or elopement!

Very pretty,if you want you can swim ,easy walk to falls or can see from top of road.parking isn't great in the summer ,but then you wouldn't want to swim if it wasn't summer after you visit this place up ahead is Moore's Cove it's a walk through the woods and there's a waterfall there and then passed Moore's Cove there is sliding rock falls

Great place, just hope all the tourists to overwelm the area. It is crowded for obvious reasons. Park along the side of the road. If you are there in the morning, the water is chilly, even for NC mountain standards. It because depending on time of day the sunlight doesnt get down into the gorge.

The falls were very pretty! It was easy to find parking and the stairs to the falls made it easily accessible. Detracting from the natural beauty were tourist standing in the way of a nice picture. One very large hairy man in his red, white and blue swimsuit stood in front of the falls with his arms spread for a long time. Other than a few tourists, it was a nice place.

A must stop when in the area. It was PACKED when we were there but it wasn't too bad. We were able to make our way to the falls and swim in the pool below without issue. I would do this again for sure... water was COLD!!

I love the spot in Pisgah Forest! You can see the waterfall from the road so don't expect a hike but there are some stairs that can bring you closer to the falls. In summer you can swim, but it is definitely cold! The waterfall itself is very impressive.

And you don't even have to walk to enjoy the view. Although there are stairs down to the base of the falls, you can enjoy the view from the overlook, just off the road. Beautiful. And if you're lucky, you can get some quiet time and enjoy the soothing sounds of the cascading falls.

It was a drizzly day, so we only lasted so long but were happy we took the time for a visit. Really pretty falls, and no cover charge. The adventurous can hike down to the rocks...but it was too cool out for me to risk getting drenched. Very pretty place and parking was easy. Nice place to take some pictures.

Looking Glass Falls can be found right on the roadside on Hwy 276 in the Pisgah National Forest. You'll find many cars alongside the road but don't let that scare you. Even if it seems crowded, there are lots of places to get great photos of the falls. Be sure to head down the steps for a better look. The crowd will begin to dissipate. Looking Glass Falls is one of the best waterfalls I have seen.

The falls locates just along side the road. Great view with very easy access to the bottom of the falls. Grab your towels :-)

This waterfall is right beside the highway and easy to access. Parking is somewhat limited, though. The observation point along the highway is at the top of the falls. There is a stairway (90+ steps) down to the base of the falls. People were swimming at the base of the falls.

The kids can get in the water and play here while you watch or join. The falls are very nice to look at as well.

These are amazing to watch, 60 feet of waterfalls, and free and easy parking on the side of the road. No charge and a joy to watch for all family members.

Beautiful roadside waterfall. There is an upper viewing platform that is wheelchair accessible. Next to the platform are stairs that you can take down to the base of the waterfall. There's a small spot in the middle of the stairs with another area you can view the waterfall from if you want a closer look without going all the way to the bottom.

Awesome place to visit- you won't be disappointed. Not a strenous walk at all and well worth it, anytime is a good time to visit

Looking Glass Falls can be seen from the road - no hiking is involved to enjoy the falls. There is a paved path that leads down to the pool below. On a hot day the mist from the falls would feel very nice along with a dip in the pool!
This waterfall is very large and worth the stop to check it out.
During our visit to Pisgah Forest we visited six waterfalls and took video footage of each. If you are planning a trip to the forest and trying to decide which falls to visit check out our North Carolina vacation videos on our Youtube channel Explorcation. The Youtube link is in our intro.
Happy trip planning!

So many parks and natural sites lack addresses. For some, this could make finding attractions, such as Looking Glass Falls, quite difficult. The easiest way to find this waterfall is to google it. Then, click directions. I know this seems like a simple solution; and it is. When all else fails, that is my go to move. I hope it helps you as well, Meanwhile, you can take your dog to these falls, There are a bunch of stairs and the entire decent is about .3 miles.

Leaving Brevard, up toward Pisgah Forest, this is the first waterfall you come to. Easy on road parking. Accessible viewing platform. Or walk down several flights of stairs to get a closer view.

Stopped at the falls along our drive through North Carolina. Easy walking down to the falls and a cool mist on a hot day was awesome. God's beautiful handiwork. And the drive through the Pisgah Forest was great too! Definitely would recommend!

I’m not an experienced hiker but a fitness enthusiast - this hike was great because it was clearly marked and if you hike fast enough it’s a great little workout!! Bring water!

This was pretty. The website said waterfalls are a must do in the winter. I wanted to see more frozen water and icicles. But it's ok. This was nice to walk right down to it and feel the water on your face even tho it was cold.

You can see this waterfall right from the road. If you want to get a closer look you can go down the steps to get a closer look. You can get into the water at the base of the falls.

This falls is right on hwy 276 and not far from Brevard. Beautiful and relaxing and cool place to visit during the hot summer.

This fall is on the side is the highway so there is not much of a hike involved. Parking is ample. There is a flight of stairs you can go down and actually go into the water. Really nice stop to make if you’re in the forest.

This was definitely a nice stop and we are glad we did it. It probably takes longer to park and walk to the falls than to see them, but it’s worth it.
There are stairs to walk down to the falls, and if you are inclined to do so there are rocks to climb on to get better views.
For folks who cannot do stairs, the view at the top is still impressive enough to warrant a stop!

We stopped here on our way home. It is a bit of a ways off the parkway and took awhile to find it. We took pictures and there were many people wading/swimming around in the water. I would advise not to do this as one of my children went to step on a rock and it was extremely slippery and they could have fallen and hit their head on another rock. It is far from civilization and if you were to get hurt, the response time would take a while plus cell service was hit or miss. It was extremely crowded on the day we went and parking is lacking and you will be lucky to find a spot nearby if you go at a busy time. We just happened to get there when someone was leaving and parking is very close to the roadway. Plus, there aren’t any bathrooms close by so plan ahead. It is beautiful for pictures but if we were to visit again, we would not be going into the water.

This waterfall is stunning!! So pretty and photo worthy. However, parking can be tricky. This waterfall is full of tourists and you park alongside the road. Get there early to get a closer parking spot and a better view of the waterfall for pictures without people in them. Weekdays should be less crowded.

I visited hooker falls, trippper falls, high falls and Glass falls. I liked Glass falls very much among other falls.
But there is no parking access area unlike Hooker falls. These rocks are very slippery. Please wear proper shoes. Please be careful while walking on the rock when you try to reach near water falls area.
While reaching i did not see any traffic. But while moving out of Pisgah Forest is huge traffic almost for 1 hour just to cross 4 miles.

A beautiful waterfall that you can take a dip in at the bottom. You don't have to hike to these falls. The water is quite cold. Parking is at a premium since they don't have a lot to park in and it is too far to get a uber too.

Drive from Brevard around 5 miles very easy road. Waterfall is directly off parking lot. Upper viewing would be handicap accessible. Take a short trip down steps to see from other angles. Highly recommended

The good:
This is a beautiful waterfall that cascades into a beautiful pool. The mist from the falls cools you down on a hot day.
The bad:
This is a public spot, the forest is popular and it is right off of the road. Because you do not have to work to get to this location, The whole time we were there we couldn’t enjoy the view or even get a picture for all the idiots climbing all over the rocks and pool below the falls.
John Denver said, “there is serenity in a clear mountain stream”. You will find a mountain stream here, but you will not find serenity.
I did manage to get good pic... the plants cover up the idiots...

Really unique opportunity to swim right under a 60+ foot waterfall. Park along the roadside and walk to the entrance. Climb down over the rocks to get down to the waterfall pool. The water seemed shallow so I didn't let our boys jump in from the rocks on the right side. They did swim up to the falls though. The water is COLD but where else can you swim up to a waterfall? I recommend water shoes or Chacos. The rocks are sharp.

Looking Glass Falls is a wonderful place to visit! It is beautiful in every season! During the fall it has a backdrop of red, yellow and orange leaves on the trees. This winter we went when the waterfall and river below were mostly frozen. Having traveled all over the US and to several countries, I can honestly say it was one of the most beautiful places that I have ever seen! Nice view from the viewing deck or a short walk down the stairs to view at river level.

Easy access. Can see a lot at road level. If comfortable using stairs, go down to both viewing levels. The spray is exciting. No one was wading on our visit. Only nature in view.

This is a beautiful and large waterfall! Definitely get there early and avoid weekends and holidays. It's a steep walk down but there are steps.

Pretty place. Be careful a lot of thefts in this area and in Brevard/Transylvania County as a whole. Lots of drug use in this town. Also, be careful hiking alone. Be careful around rangers and strangers. Breath taking views of the falls. Wear some good hiking shoes. Might want to put a car cam in your car due to the car break ins. I know several people who have encountered this. There are several trails and some decent little restaurants.

This was probably one of the easiest falls to reach. You park on the side of the road and walk down some stairs. It was busy but we were still able to enjoy the falls and get some nice pictures. My husband went in for a swim while I enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Beautiful! Short drive to Blue Ridge parkway.

Not far from Looking Glass Rock Nature trail. Be careful of the slippery rocks when going down to see the waterfall.

Looking Glass Falls in the Pisgah National Forest was a wonderful experience. The sights and sounds of the falls were calming to the soul.

Beautiful waterfall off the side of a highway with excellent markings. Great for young, old, pets, physically challenged, etc. There was plenty of parking along the road and you can see the falls/ have great opportunity for photos without having to take the stairs. It was misting when we went and the stairs were slippery so definitely look out for that if you are going all the way down to the base of the falls. Beautiful and highly recommend. About 45 min from downtown Asheville and we also did Moore Cove Falls in addition to this one during our weekend stay.

Beautiful falls! There are stairs to take
You to the bottom. You’re able to walk/swim in the water around the falls.

Quick little stop while driving through the Smokey Mountains. Easy 5 minute stop. Can be seen from off the highway if you are feeling lazy. Park on the shoulder of the road and a few steps to see the falls. Would stop again.

It was about a 14 mile round trip from Brevard. Turned at the street next to Walmart. After driving through the Pisgah Forest, eventually arrived a a lengthy parking lot where I was the only one there. Literally parked right nest to the top overlook.
The falls are very easy to see and the paved steips to the bottom are farrly easy to navigate to.
The falls were running full blast, espeically since it had been raining earlier. They were very nice.

A beautiful waterfall right next to the road. View from parking area, or a short walk with a closer view. There is no reason to miss this one. While some falls in the area may not have a strong flow of water, this one certainly does.

We ve visited the Looking Glass Falls twice - once in Summer last year and once this fall (2017). This is one of the easiest roadside waterfalls to get to and a pretty one too. The waterfall is 60 ft high. When we visited last summer , there were lots of people there. You can actually get into the stream below the falls and sit on small rocks at many places. You get a front on view of the waterfall and the water sprayiing on your face is a very refreshing feel. When we visited this fall, it was almost close to sunset. We had the waterfall to ourselves. We didnt get into the water as we thought it might be super cold. but it was a peaceful hour. There were some fall colors around the waterfall and gave me a good photo opportunity.
This is a must visit place if anyone is in the area. Very easy to get to and enjoyable

the falls can be viewed from the highway however if you like you can walk down the steps to view from the bottom the falls are very scenic and a good view from the highway

My friend and I are from the beach and we’re wanting to see something beautiful, I looked up waterfalls that were easy to access and came across this one. It was so easy to find, and required very little walking! So beautiful, check it out!

The walk was worth the view, however it was crowed and we couldn't enjoy the experience completely. Till next time.

Looking Glass Falls isn't mirror-like but is named after Looking Glass Rock, a nearby pluton dome that ices over in wintertime. The 60-foot falls are right along US 276 as it winds up toward the Blue Ridge Parkway (or winds down southward from it), and parking is on the ascending right side of the road. There's even a concrete sidewalk for a few hundred feet along the road.
We parked a good distance below the falls, fearing unavailability of parking nearer the falls on a busy 4th of July weekend. However, many people look, enjoy, and move on, so parking spots nearer the falls seemed to open frequently. That is unlike Sliding Rock Falls (little roadside parking, a full parking lot, and with many people there as a longer-time swimming destination).

Beautiful view and photos COLD WATER we did with our family. Go to SLIDING ROCK too and go early to the park.

This waterfall is beautiful and majestic and HUGE and cannot be missed if you’re visiting Pisgah Forest. Since it’s right next to the road, there’s no hiking necessary to get to it, simply pull over to park along the roadside. And even if you’re unable to go down and back up the stairway, no worries! It can be just as easily seen and enjoyed from the top viewing platform which is level with the road.

Easy to get to, lots of stairs so use caution with the elderly and small children. Several viewing areas and older kids and adults could easily get into the water.

A wonderful spot to enjoy God’s creation and take some pictures. There are some stairs to climb down if you want to see more and get closer.

This waterfall is incredible, it is at the foot of the road and there is space to park your car, my visit was in December being able to contemplate the waterfall calmly without hustle and bustle or people, obviously we couldn't get in but contemplating it was incredible.
My boyfriend told me that that waterfall appears in the movie Diary of a Passion.

This is one of the easy ways to see an North Carolina waterfall. The place was packed but we managed to find a parking spot. I noticed people missing out because their dogs couldn’t go down the stairs at base of the falls so I’d leave the dogs at home or hotel. There’s a slight incline to waterfall but it’s all sidewalk. I noticed some really ignorant people walking up the wrong side of the road around sharp mountain corners near waterfalls so please stay out of the road.

Beautiful first time ever there. Perfect for the outdoor enthusiast! Be sure to take your hiking shoes and camera.

We’ve enjoyed this beautiful waterfall on many fall leaf looking trips to NC. Just a very pretty spot especially with golden leaf colors around it. And no hike to see - right on highway - and no cost!
If anywhere close try to see it!

This is a beautiful falls with road side parking. You walk down steps and go near water fall. take pictures, enjoy the beauty. Road side parallel park not too crowded. just watch out at the base if you plan to walk on loose rocks. Must see!

Well it's a waterfall. Many of those in the mountains of North Carolina. It's popular and you can take a dip in the pool below the waterfall. Too many people for my tadte though on the hot and humid day I visited.

Great waterfall and very close to Sliding Rock which is always fun. Both of these sites are easily drive-able from Asheville.

This waterfall is in Pisgah National Forest and lies beside the main highway, so access is very easy. A walkway leading down from the highway, affords the opportunity to walk down to a more viewable point. This should not be attempted when temperatures are cold and near or below freezing. The falls have a tendency to freeze over when the temps plummet in the winter making the falls an ice-laden magical wonder of nature. Check this out if you are in the area.In the summer following the road to Sliding Rock for a chilly water-fun slide down the giant rock which is always full of adults and young alike.

This is a beautiful falls with road side parking. This falls is visible without hiking so if you are not much of a hiker or have individuals who cannot hike this one is visible from the sidewalk. If you want a closer look you can walk down steps and get near the water fall.

Looking Glass Falls is absolutely amazing and beautiful. We had teenagers and younger kids and both were able to get into the water and close to the falls. Highly recommend water shoes! Great outdoor event for everyone.

This is a pretty easy hike, very accessible and close to the road. Not super crowded and absolutely gorgeous to see!

A magnificent waterfall that is super accessible to everyone. It can be viewed from the platform overhead or a quick walk down the stairs to experience the misting from the falls or taking a dip in the Basin on a hot day!

Looking Glass Falls is the easiest waterfall to see in the Pisgah National Forest. It is off Hwy. 276.. Parallel Parking is available near the Falls. We recommend going on weekdays as it is busy on weekends. We went on a Monday and found parking available close to the Falls. With recent rains the Falls were very full and picturesque. Due to Tropical Storm Fred in August the stairs leading to the pool at the base of the Falls was closed during our visit. There was a lot of debris still around the steps on our visit in late September. Still a very scenic and easy waterfall to visit.

These falls are so beautiful!! God is a perfect artist!!! It is well worth the trip if you live anywhere near the area!!! There are picnic areas (not directly by the falls) and walking trails. Just for the record you can get to these falls by car. If you want to see the bottom of the falls you have to go down about four sets of stairs.

This is a drive up site. No hiking required at all. Thin parking area gets very crowded so you may have to park a bit away. You can descend some stairs to get multiple viewpoints if you want.

This waterfall can be seen without getting out of the car. But to experience it is to walk down the few steps to the bottom to feel the mist and get a better vantage point. I bet it looks awesome with icicles in the winter. It was 45 degrees on this late December day so we didnt see any.

Right off the road easy to see without taking the stairs down to bottom level. Really beautiful. If the weather was warmer could have stepped into the water.

This waterfall is right on the side of the road with a quick path down to the base. It's a fairly voluminous falls and a pretty, but crowded, spot. It's average as far as waterfalls go, but still plenty picturesque. The ease of access makes it a no brainer stop.

we probably picked the worst possible time to see Looking Glass, right in the middle of the day, around 1. there were a ton of people there so we couldn't get that cool of pictures. the falls were pretty though, just way too many people. i'd recommend going in the morning or later in the afternoon when the area is more empty.

The waterfall was beautiful and it wasn't too crowded!! This was a great stop for me and my family!!

If you are looking for a beautiful waterfall in North Carolina, please visit. You will not regret it! My family and I loved our Spring Break traveling in the NC mountains.

Good for family viewing and possibly handicapped. Parking is along the road with a paved sidewalk leading to the lookout area. There is also a stairway tot he bottom of the falls for t he more adventurous. Great place for photography too.

If you're headed to Sliding Rock, be sure to stop by Looking Glass Falls and walk down the staircase to the base of the waterfall. You'll get great views and lots of photo opportunities.

There are falls galore all around WNC and this has got to be one of the best. Stunning and picturesque. There were bridal couples for their phote shoot. The only problem here is parking. There ois no parking provided by the Forest Service so people park every which way off the road itself making it quite hazardous.

A beautiful view and great falls to enjoy..Take lots of photos!! A marvel of nature. Delightful place to visit.

The water was great! The view was breathtaking. The water was cold but super refreshing. There was stairs to get to the fall so that was great!

Happened to get a tour from a park ranger. Learned a lot more than we would have otherwise. The streambed looks safe but you do need to be careful, and this was in a time with drought! Nice nearby lake too. It would have been fun to bring in a kayak and fish there.

Place that even those who have some limited mobility challenge can visit; You come into contact with nature and the senses are reactivated at another level, both sight, hearing, smell and touch through the skin are elevated and life is appreciated with a new perspective on the preservation of nature and natural resources.
We must be united and protect our home (planet Earth)

Got to see this one in the fall of the year. The colors are just amazing. Right off the parkway, and right into very fond memories for both of us.

This is the base of the waterfall and there is a large swimming pool formed at the bottom of the Rocks. Absolutely beautiful. Shockingly gorgeous. The water is extremely cold, but has a lot of fun. Somewhat crowded, but not overly so. Definitely want to check this out.

The falls are just amazing and a must visit. You can actually get in the water at the falls. I highly recommend water shoes. In the summer months expect large crowds. The falls are easily accessible. You park by the road and you can view the falls from the road or go down the stairs.

A beautiful waterfall next to the road. Easy access via wooden stairs. It was a little crowded, but very easy to get a great photo, then leave.
An excellent waterfall and worthy of a visit!

lovely waterfall, its on way to sliding rock, lots of parking and you can view from top deck area, or go down a bunch of stairs and see it from bottom, don't be a idiot and get to close or your really injure yourself

Easy access to the top of the falls from the road. Parking is along side the road so it can be hard to find a close spot. To get to the bottom you do have to be able to do all the stairs but it isn’t required to see the falls. Lovely place to stop!

This fall is easily accessible and truly beautiful. There is a pool at the base of the fall, and you can swim in it as well as play in the river. Lots of space to relax or have a picnic.

Nice little stop. Enjoyed. You can stand and see the falls from the road and or walk down some stairs and path to the bottom. We saw a few kids swimming, but I can't imagine how cold that was.

This is a gorgeous place to visit (see the pictures - I don't need to tell you what you will see). The problem is the crowds and parking.
We went on a Thursday morning on bad rainy day and we still had to park pretty far away and fight crowds to get down to the falls.
I wouldn't even consider this on a weekend.

Went on a rainy day, so we did not spend a lot of time there. However, the falls are nice and worth a stop. The flow was great the day we were there.

A definite must if looking for some scenic waterfall pictures. Many people walk down to the base of the waterfall and jump in the water. Parking is challenging as you make your own spot along the road.

This waterfall has steep but easy stairs down to the base of the waterfall. There is a lookout point at the top without walking down. Once down at the bottom you can easily feel the mist and cool air from the water. You can climb down on the rocks and wade in the stream.

Great falls right next to the road. Short stair case down. You can get some great pics next to the falls. Was cold in March so we did not get into the water. Can see it being very busy in the summer.

These falls are right near the road. We were able to see them without getting out of the car- parking along the road was intense! Since my sister uses a walker, we did not try to go any further. They are beautiful!

Easy to get to and enough parking along side of the road. Only a few miles north of route 64. Easy turnaround a few hundred yards past.

Easily located. Lots of falls in the area. Parking is free but limited unless you want to walk. You can even swim at the bottom of the falls. Highly recommend seeing this fall.

We visited this Falls after it had rained for most of the prior two days, and the Falls was thundering - just beautiful. Many many people stop to view this Falls as it is on the main road into the NF. There is an upper and lower viewing terrace - you can get misted pretty quickly on the lower one, so keep those expensive cameras safe! Also, I noticed that 90% of the people pulled over and parked before the Falls on the road, but there is ample parking along the road just past the Falls - cut your walk down significantly! You can also park on the opposite side of the road but no one did while I was there.

Worth a stop! Very easy access to the falls! You can swim or just take pictures and admire the beauty.

Beautiful and the kids enjoyed wading in the bottom. Take your camera and some close toe or strapped Sandles as opposed to flip flops.

Looking Glass Falls is beautiful! It’s very easy to access right beside the road. You can view it from the road or walk to the bottom to view it. Not very far out of town worth the drive!!!

The falls is very nice and what’s great is that older folks don’t have to walk the trail to see the falls. You can see it from the observation area on the top or walk down the path to get a better view. Although great and I could definitely spend more time there, it was pretty crowded for how little standing/viewing areas there are. So we opted to leave quick to see other sites. Definitely recommend but maybe try early in the morning or late to have less of a crowd.

Lots of People during Summer time including Saturday. Lovely place for kids and adults water is cold but super fun.

This is such a beautiful and accessible location. Parking can be hard to find and there are a lot of people there. Take the time to climb down to the river.

You can drive right by this waterfall and see the grand beauty of Looking Glass Falls! There are a lot of pull of spaces next to the falls and it’s a short walk down some steps to get to the falls. There is no nice path to get behind the falls but you can climb some rocks and get back there. Or feel free to swim next to it! GORGEOUS!

Looking Glass Falls is a lovely waterfall right on the main road going through Pisgah National Forest. We were there on a Friday and parking was easily available. There is a viewing platform at street level and steps leading down a lot closer to the falls.

This is one of the many beautiful waterfalls this area is known for. There is a place to pull over and park your car right beside the road. You can walk down a long rock stairway to the bottom of the falls. Be sure to bring your camera because the falls are beautiful!!

The access is excellent if you can use even, wood steps and strong wooden rails. The steps are each about one foot tall. The best experience is after a massive rain storm.
There are a lot of people unaware of the serious dangers of the slipperiness of the rocks at the bottom of the falls and the inclines of the cliffs. News Flash: There are between 25 to 50 people who dies each year from Waterfalls in the area - including a collegiate swimmer who got fishing line tied around his body at the bottom of the falls and it dragged him down and he drowned.

Falls easy to get to & very pretty. But we went during 4th of July week & place was packed with tourists walking to it, parking, etc. Would give it another try in off season.
Ricks slippery, so wear appropriate shoes. Walking stick would be helpful too.

This water fall is so beautiful! Be prepared to park on the side of the road to walk to the waterfall but worth the walk. You can even swim at the bottom.

As part our visit to the town of Brevard we decided to make a visit to the Pisgah National Forest. After stopping at the visitor center we continued a short 10 minute drive to the looking glass falls. As we were visiting in late September there was only light traffic. My wife and I enjoyed the beauty of the falls and the drive through the park to reach them. Definitely a must do if you have the time.

Great 60 foot waterfall along US-276 about 9 miles from Brevard, NC. It's also close to Sliding Rock. In the fall the best time to visit is late morning to mid-afternoon to get the sun shining on the falls. Short walk to the overlook and stairs down to the base of the falls. Only roadside parking so be careful.

Looking Glass is directly on Hwy 276 that runs between Brevard and Waynesville and near Sliding Rock. The drive between the 2 cities is divided by high elevation access to the Blue Ridge Parkway. It’s a great road, and this waterfall is a prime highlight. Park in the designated area and enjoy. You can walk down the stone staircase to the base if you wish for different views.

This Beautiful waterfall can be viewed directly from the platform but a short walk down the steps will get you so close to the water you will enjoy the mist of the falls. The fall colors and fresh forest scents make this a wonderful spot.

Wow what a sight to enjoy even in the rain. We are staying in Bervard, NC close to our rental home. Easy to get too and not along hike.

I have a fascination for waterfalls, this was the largest we had visited lately..would recommend a trip there either before or after your trip to Looking Glass Mountain...

Great place to take in the waterfall and sounds of nature! Grab a picnic, take a swim but know that the water is COLD!

We parked a little further away than we needed to because of where we saw cards starting to line up. Very beautiful location to grab some photos-- and quite a popular spot. Expect to get misted, I'm sure it's based on how high the waters are and there was just a heavy rain, so we were damp as we left....but, we also tried to get as close as we could. :)

This is an easy fall to see on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Nice and big with some great, but slippery rocks to climb on for great photos.
There’s not a parking lot, you park on the street...so you may have to walk a ways, depending on tourist season. But once you’re there, you’re up close to a big waterfall. We could feel the spray from it.

In terms of reward vs. effort, you can’t beat Looking Glass Falls. Located right at the side of the road, you can walk steps from your car for a beautiful view of this 60 ft. waterfall. No lengthy hikes involved here. There are quite a few parking spots at the side of the road so we found it easy to park. There is also a well maintained staircase that takes you near the base of the falls for a different vantage point (or a swim if you are so inclined). Located only about a 15 minute drive from downtown Brevard, this is well worth the short trip.

Looking Glass Falls is beautiful and spectacular! We are still blessed to be able to climb and walk long distances and were able to get to a lot of the wooded trails and falls in the area. However, we noticed that there were others coming to the Looking Glass Falls who were not able to descend the stairs down to the base of the falls which was not a problem because the falls are so close and the wonderful national park provides excellent pull off the road areas that are so close to this falls area that you can still feel the spray! It was amazing and great pictures can be taken with the falls even from the overlook area!

Unbeknownst to us, you get to "swim in the base of the falls"!!!! It is very cold water but what an awesome experience! It is so beautiful and an experience of a lifetime. The falls are just outside of a gorgeous little touristy town and we absolutely will be back for more! I happen to google "falls" in NC/TN before our vacation and this one came up so we just had to be sure we found it. We are so glad we took the time to stop and enjoy. It is absolutely breathtaking and enjoyable. Even if you don't swim in the fall-pool, at least take-in the scene and listen to the falls. ENJOY!

This is a beautiful waterfall, but if you're willing to hike a short distance, there are others that aren't nearly as crowded. We enjoyed Triple Falls and Hooker Falls much more!

I've visited these falls many times over the years, and they never get old. Photographs don't really do the place justice: the falls are tall and lovely, with a wide area at the bottom for climbing on rocks and splashing in the water. It's a great place to go with children, especially, though the elderly might have to settle for viewing from the station at the top, considering all the stairs on the way down.

Parking was easy along the side of the road. The falls were easy to access with a short walk down some steps. The falls are beautiful and they are the most popular within the Pisgah Forest. Great spot for a photo op!

If you’re visiting note 3 things:
Kids and adults can walk and wade and swim at this location. There are no restrooms.
Weekend parking is a nightmare. Every year for five years we’ve seen a car slide off a hill.
It’s worth a visit.

This was a good hike. We had fun. Been to better waterfalls but for what it was it was great!!! I'd do it again.

This hike is a must in Pisgah forest! The trails are moderate so you can take in the breathtaking beauty of the forest and waterfalls. The landscape was still a bit wintery in March, but the rhodedendrums were filled with buds. When they are in full bloom, the colors must be spectactular! I would also love to see the autumn foliage on this trail. Pack a lunch to picnic along the way!

Easy to get to.
Great for younger kiddos to see a waterfall without much hiking.
After you see this one, you’ll want yo go hiking to see more.

Beautiful falls. Steps down are not difficult. Parking is on the shoulder of the road. Would recommend you take the time to stop and enjoy the falls.

Love this hot spot in the summertime. Fun for wading and hanging out on the rocks. Good people watching. PSA: For goodness sake, don’t swim directly under the waterfall. I saw a huge log wash over and it could have easily killed a person - including the adult man who fortunately moved out of the way about 5 seconds in advance.

My teenagers and I went on a "waterfall expedition" where we visited eleven waterfalls (would have been more but we ran out of daylight) in a two day period. Looking Glass Falls was the first one we visited and it set the stage well for our whirlwind tour - it was easy to access (no threats to two teens who can occasionally be lazy when it comes to hiking), and it was beautiful!
Directions: When entering Brevard from Asheville, turn north (right) on US Highway 276 North and drive 5.6 miles to a long, narrow roadside parking area on the right side of the road. (After visiting Looking Glass Falls, continue north on Route 276 for 1 mile to hike 1.5 miles round trip to see Moore Cove Falls.)

Spectacular falls with easy roadside viewing. Go down the steps for even better views. My only issue was the parents allowing their young children to go into the water or up the rocks off the trail.

Looking Glass Falls is lovely to behold, as it sits right on US 276 halfway up the mountain from US 64 (Brevard) and the Blue Ridge Parkway. There is ample parking MOST of the time, right off the main highway. The Falls is also right on the road, so be watchful of traffic on a busy, winding, and very steep road!

My Husband and I came here today. Absolutely gorgeous. We love waterfalls and this one is breathtaking. It is free. The parking is limited. There are stairs to walk down to get to the waterfall. If you go swimming, I highly recommend that you wear water shoes. Some rocks are slippery. The water of course is freezing but refreshing. This is also a great place to take pictures. We really enjoyed ourselves. It was a little crowded today but that is expected. This is a must see!

Fog and low cloud cover meant no sweeping vistas from the BRP so we opted to drop down through Pisgah Forrest and were delighted to be rewarded by Looking Glass Falls. A happy accident that turned a detour into a great memory.

This waterfall is absolutly beautiful. There are alot of stairs if you want to get close but totally worth it. It has great photo opp areas as well

Gorgeous waterfall that is visible from the road! If you want to take a closer look, there are stairs that lead down to the water. If you're in the area for hiking, this photo op is definitely worth a stop!

We visited these Falls while staying in the Blur Ridge Mountains this summer. A beautiful place to stop on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Many families were there and quite a few were in the water. Some were even jumping off some rocks!
Parking can be s but if s problem as it is busy place but we eventually found one, we did take our dog on s leash but held him a lot if the time near the rocks and water.

Awesome falls, truly photogenic right on the road. If you want to go down a few steps for better view you can. Great photography to capture. Year round you should be able to see water coming from mountains. No home necessary- suitable for all ages.

Our family loved this waterfall. The green colors of the forest out of this world. The temperature just right, the scenery, people from every state and all ages just walking on the cold waters of the waterfall, the clean scent of the forest so relaxing combine with the sound of the giant waterfall, the sound as the water falls on the rocks and splashes on the running water. BREATH TAKING.

We were in Asheville for my niece's softball showcase and we drove out to this waterfall. As a photographer, I was in heaven. It truly is beautiful. The girls had so much fun playing in the water. I was lucky enough to get a great shot-long exposure. This is a little peace of heaven on earth. ❤

Absolutely incredible falls without the long walk! There's a lookout where you can pull over and look at it. There's also stairs where you can get a closer look, but the lookout gives a pretty grand view by itself, if you're unable to climb the stairs.

My wife and I raveled to Cedar Mt. and hiked to the waterfalls. We spent the morning and half the afternoon admiring nature and the beauty of the Falls in the park.

Right by the roadside, this is a beautiful waterfall! Be sure to hike down the stairs to the bottom level.

Looking Glass is a beautiful place but the town is not very safe anymore. Burglaries can happen to your car or hotel/tent. Be warned.
High crime but they don't report it because of tourism.
Be careful in these woods and I don't advise ever hiking alone.
Stalking goes on in this little town.

The waterfall is beautiful. You can also get in and swim. The water is very cold but feels good on hot days. If you go on the weekend it's more crowded. Be prepared to walk on the side of the road. There's not a lot of parking.

This falls is one falls where even someone that can't walk far can see it up close by driving along side the road a observation deck or they can go down some wide concrete steps that have hand rails if they want a close up view and it's free.

Great and beautiful falls! We had a beautiful hike to the falls. Was able to hike in and out easily.

This waterfall is about a 45 minute drive or so from Asheville. My 7 year old daughter and took a break from the city to go check it out. It's just as beautiful as it was over 10 years ago when I last visited. Absolutely stunning with great volume in a tranquil setting. There's a platform above where those who are disabled, elderly, or very young can enjoy a great view just a short walk away from their vehicle. 2 sets of stairs links the upper viewing platform with the lower. You can also brave the rocks from down there but caution must be exercised. I saw multiple people slip. It was a warm day in early October so there was a pretty good crowd out. Definitely recommend this as an entry level "hike" where the payoff far exceeds the effort. Just be careful as the stairs can be slippery. Some people hiked a little bit downstream but the view doesn't change much unless you're doing photography.

this was such a fun time to be able to get so close to the waterfall. This is something that I want to do for a long time and it was definitely a lot of fun

Pretty falls right next to the road! Lots of people swimming and walking in the water, but no problem with overcrowding in the area.

Near sliding rock. Keep your swimsuits on after sliding rock and take a dip under the falls. No lifeguards so swim at own risk

The looking glass falls is a beautiful spot to see. It is very easy to access, just park on the side of the road and walk down stairs to get to the bottom. They do have an actual parking area on the side of the road. Just get there early because the spots are limited You can also see it from the top so if stairs aren't an option it is still doable. My husband climbed next to the falls and was able to get behind part of the falls. He loved it. If it is a warm definitely wear a bathing suit and water shoes. You can easily get in to wade in the shallow water at the bottom.

Short hike down to falls. Beautiful. Nice to sit on rocks at bottom and relax and cool off. A bit busy but didn’t bother us.

Absolutely gorgeous! The waterfall showcases such natural beauty and power. We didn't see much puarking available as we went towards sliding rock, but when we were returning past Looking Glass, we noticed there were quite a few spots (late afternoon) and were easily able to slide into a spot close to the falls. I'm so glad we did because it was another dose of witnessing God's amazing creation. The kids loved getting to swim under a waterfall.

Always stop by this waterfall while near Brevard. It is easily accessible for everyone and always makes for a nice picture. No hiking involved and a nice parking area. It is usually pretty crowded unless you go real early, as are most waterfalls.

Looking Glass Falls is a few minutes down the road from Sliding Rock. We stopped here to get some amazing pictures in front of the waterfall as well as played in the water for awhile. This waterfall is beautiful!

There are lots of ads for paid hiking trails or trips to the beautiful Waterfall destination in the Pisgah Forest, NC, but it is FREE!
There is no cell signal once you turn onto the main road and enter the forest to get to the waterfall and little signage and Ranger station was closed so be sure to write form or print off driving instructions. The parking is very limited, you may only park along the road. The falls are a free activity, pack your swimsuit and towel in case you want to swim! The Natural water slide is just 1/4 mile up the road and there is a small entry fee to enter to view or slide if the water isn’t too deep or flowing too much.

be sure to check out Looking Glass Falls and if you'd like to swim in the lake that's available as well. beautiful view

My family and I loved this waterfall, the water is cold when you first get in but after a while youh don't feel it. The water is clean and refreshing... the fact that you have alot of room to swim makes it so much better... we seen a big Salamander and it was harmless. My family and I loved this place...

Early morning trip. My first stop of the day in beautiful Pisgah National Forest, in the mountains on western NC. Looking Glass Falls is a must see when visiting western NC.

If you are close to Brevard NC, this is the place to go. Not that far into the forest and a wonderful experience. We went on the Monday after Labor Day and parking and crowds were non-existent. Granted during the summer time it can be a madhouse.
All in your timing. Walk down the stairs are easy and the area is clean and well maintained. Plenty of stops for photos. Just to stand and feel the cool mist and listen to the fall makes it a worthwhile stop.
As i said, it depends on your time of visit.

Love this place. We went around 5 so it was EMPTY!! Oh and it’s easy as walking down some paved stairs

A great waterfall to see. It’s huge and the day we went there were lots of people (Looking and playing in the water). This is a do not miss attraction!

Another one of North Carolina’s treasures. Easy access to see this waterfall. Parking is limited to street side. Short hike down stairs to the bottom of the falls

This is located right next to the main road in the Pisgah Forest so it is super easy to view. You can even stay in your car if you want. The stairs are well maintained down to the waterfall and the waterfall is very well marked both from the road once you get there and beforehand so you know it is coming up.

Beautiful waterfall and worth the visit! We stopped by after Sliding Rock and walked around a little. So glad we didn’t miss it!!

Just near Sliding Rock you will find this lovely waterfall with a walk down path leading you to this breathtaking view. We arrived around noon and it was very crowded even on a Tuesday. Swimming is allowed but the rocks are very slippery and there are no guards present. Parking is only along the highway and be careful since many people are not paying attention.

On your way up to sliding rock in the Pisgah national forest, you'll drive right by looking glass falls. It's a small but very picturesque falls right next to the road with a small set of concrete steps down to the base of the falls. There's a large splash pool at the bottom and several people swimming in it when we visited. There were also several people wading in the river downstream from the falls. On a warm day, it'd be a perfect place for a dip but be careful as there are no lifeguards or park staff on site. It's a great place for a picturesque selfie or family shots in front of a waterfall. Expect to spend about a half hour to an hour here depending on your level of activity. There is no handicap access other than a lookout over the falls at the top, which is still very pretty. If you're in the area, definitely worth the visit and unlike the sliding rock, there's no fee.

On any visit to Brevard, NC a must stop is Looking Glass Falls. It is easily seen from the road and there is a lot of roadside parking. As many visitors just stop for a quick picture, you can drive closer to the Falls and probably still find parking - unless it is holiday or weekend where there will be crowds. There is a trail along the edge of the raod/parkoing to follow to a sidewalk that then has an overlook of the Falls. There are stairs down to the bottom for a different view of the falls. For our visit we just stopped at the top of the Falls. It is a popular fall for wading/swimming in the pool at the base of the Falls. Again, it is right by the road so no hiking is necessary to reach the Falls where many other Falls require a bit of a hike.

We visited several waterfalls in the area and this was one of my favorites! It was quiet and gentle and you could walk down behind it.

This was my second visit to Looking Glass Falls. I've been here in October and now in July and this time it was warm enough where people were swimming at the bottom of the falls! Really a beautiful place to visit (it's on the way to Sliding Rock) and walking down and puffing back up wasn't too bad of a climb. Go see some falls!

Very large falls. You can feel the mist.
I got right up close. Beautiful and majestic. Spiritual and romantic. Worth the visit!!!

Absolutely beautiful falls located right off the road...which causes a problem-people! Way too many people! And too many people doing stupid things like climbing on wet, slippery rocks, or making out at the base of the falls, or throwing trash on the ground. It's definitely worth a stop and beautiful to see. Hopefully you can find a time when it isn't too busy. And please be respectful of this beautiful place, especially if you decide to go into the water.

Easy to find and get to, Looking Glass are Falls not to be missed. Not far from Brevard and a short walk down a stairway beside the road. You can swim in the pool below the falls. Like all Falls, less traffic in the morning, but I think the light for photos is better in the afternoon. Lots of Falls to see in this area!

This place is gorgeous... the waterfall is beautiful and you can walk down stairs to the bottom of the fall and wade in the water... crowded in the summer but worth a visit. Get there early to get a parking space close if you are walking impaired.

Beautiful falls you can see from the side of the road. Stairs available to get to the bottom and take pictures.

Don't miss this waterfall if you are in the area. It was beautiful, and you don't have to hike to the bottom to see it. It was very busy on a Sunday, which would probably be different during the week. So, parking places were limited. Fortunately, most people don't stay long so we saw available parking places on the way up and back.

The waterfall was right by the road with parking on the side of the road. A lot of people were taking a dip.

This can be seen from the car. No hiking required. The biggest effort will be to find parking. It’s a nice view. A little crowded.

This waterfall is right along the road. No hiking just a long flight of stairs. Worth stopping to visit. Very pretty falls.

Breathtaking photo op & family fun destination! Must be able to walk down steep steps, wearing shoes and walking stick on the slippery sharp rocks below.

Very beautiful waterfall..nice to see at least once. However it is a tourist attraction and is a crowded area. Parking is alongside the road and there are steps that lead down to the waterfall area. Loved the sound of the waterfall and the spray from the waterfall felt good on a very hot summer day. Some people go into the water, but need to be careful because the rocks that descend downward are slippery.

This is right along the road from the Blue Ridge Parkway and Brevard. This is a big waterfall that can be seen by parking on the side of the road. You can also go down some stairs for a closer view. There is no easier large waterfall to see in this area.

This is a very pretty waterfall with virtually no hike involved in case you are not a hiker. You can take the easy walk down to the base or just enjoy it from the lookout beside the road.

Nice waterfall right next to the road with impressive rock-face adjacent. Easy to see from road level, or take a few sets of steps to get closer view from lower vantage point. Long stretch of roadside parking helped too on weekday in Oct. Might be super crowded on a summer weekend.

Can't miss this one right on the side of the road. Take the steps down to the base of the falls for the experience and photo ops. The area has been extremely dry so there was lots of room to troll around on the rocks at the base of the falls. This is one of many in this area....see them all.

This is a beautiful spot to take some pictures and enjoy nature. We all enjoyed the falls, from the youngest (age 12) to the oldest (age 70). The only problem was the limited parking but there was no way to create ore spaces.

It’s cost $0 to drive into the Pisgah National Forest and park next to this amazing waterfall. The stairs are not too steep but I would recommend non-slip water shoes when entering the water. We saw a few people eat it pretty hard and one lady was dancing across the slippery rocks with a newborn! Be careful as always, but enjoy this amazing wonder. The Challenge is whether or not you can swim up and slap the waterfall.

A lot of traffic parking on the right side turn out. High traffic area.
These falls are absolutely stunning! Worth every mile of travel.
I did not hike down. I was mesmorized by scenery, sounds and this gentleman meditating (pictured) on a rock.
I will definitely be back when more time allows. Mark this one on your trip map!

Looking Glass Falls provided two things we were looking for in a waterfall. One is that we did not want a long hike to reach the falls. Looking Glass Falls is right on the road through Pisgah National Forest. You just park on the road as close as possible and walk to the falls viewing platform by the road. If desired, you can go down about 30 steps to get a closer look at the falls. The second thing we were looking for was an "actual" water fall, not a series of rapids running down a stream. Looking Glass Falls is a free fall of about 80 feet. Definitely a destination attraction not to miss.

Not far from Brevard this beautiful mountain drive is worth taking to stop and see Looking Glass Falls. Steps down to the viewing area for a closer look. Would love to visit again during another season.

We visited several area waterfalls recommended by our son who lives in the area. Each had it’s own individual characteristics and provided beautiful landscapes. Being able to traverse to the bottom of the waterfall provided some pretty awesome images.

This falls is breathtaking! It is easily accessible for us old folks. the wife and me shared a romantic moment there.

This is an absolute must see sight if you are anywhere near the Brevard area. Park on the side of the road and walk down an easy flight of concrete steps and you are there. Paddle your feet in the shallow pool under the fall, then visit the many other waterfalls along the road.

This is an Easy accessible water fall. Park on the side of road and the steps down to the falls in a short trip with low incline and decline. So it’s easy for folks of all ages to view. On a hot day you can get the mist from the falls to cool off.

Lots of view of this very pretty water falls just off the hwy in Pisgah National Forest. A short walk for a scenic find.

Looking glass falls is truly a wonder of nature. you can experience the majesty and power from this beautiful waterfall. You can even go down and wade in the water and if you're feeling adventurous go for a swim and experience nature at it's finest. The views are spectacular...do not miss!
Beautiful waterfall! Everyone should at least stop by once. There is usually a crowd but it’s worth it. Yesterday it was frozen! So pretty!
