Visited here with friends. Beautiful fountain and benches all around the square. Enjoyed watching all the people and spending time with my friend. Old buildings all around with a lot of shops surrounding the square.

We go to the Square several times each week. It’s filled with cute shops, great restaurants, and friendly people. If you’re a Pokémon Go player, there’s a lot of stops and 2 gyms. It’s very beautiful at Christmas with the ice skating rink set up and all the decorations. It’s a family tradition to attend the Christmas sun along musical review at the Strand theatre. Several antique shops on the Square, various country (Australia, Britain) specific shops, and bakeries, sweet shops abound. It’s always a lovely time!

A great spot to meet friends, let the littles play and enjoy whatever festival or event is happening in downtown Marietta. The adjacent shops and restaurants are full of variety and all delicious. The ice cream shop is definitely worth a scoop! Our kids love the trains and play area. Also a great spot to park for a picnic or reading.

I've been going to the Marietta Square for sixty years. I've seen it go from the commercial center of a really small town to nearly dead to the charming place it is now.
If you want to shop, eat, or just walk around, this is the place.

Last night, my husband & myself went to an annual Christmas Show at the Strand Theater off the Marietta Square in Cobb County, Ga. called "A Christmas Tradition". This show had a lot going for it: beautuful & energetic choreography (tap, ballet to mention a few), many singers, a variety of skits, it's own orchestra, audience sing-along, & an organist who performed Christmas Music on a great organ, too! The ticket to this Christmas Extravaganza was well worth the Price of admission. There were also cheaper tickets available in the theater's balcony section. Needless to say, we were so impressed with this Annual Show that we are making plans to go next Christmas, too!

Even though Marietta Square with it’s gazebo, fountain, statues and stage feels like it’s from another time. There’s always something new, from cherry blossoms, an outdoor concert, the fragrant landscaping to a new restaurant or cute shop.

On our last visit when I took my son to his favorite restaurant, Marietta Pizza, off the square, it was clear Memorial Day was right around the corner with hundreds of flags announcing weekend activities.

Marietta Square makes me think about how America should be: community, American pride, and a beautiful public space with huge trees where people of all backgrounds can meet, relax and enjoy community. If only its huge historic trees could talk, I bet there would be some stories.

The Square especially bustles on Saturday mornings, one of my favorite times to visit, when the Farmers Market is in full swing. And there’s something for everyone from the playground for the kids, to shops for mom and donuts for Dad. And if you live nearby - you’ll probably meet up with a neighbor or two.

Warm summer evenings is another good time when everyone dines outside so it’s a perfect for a date or couples night too. Love Marietta Square. It’s historic Georgia, but it’s never old.

All kinds of little stores around the square. Farmers market on the weekends. Pet friendly with lots of outside sitting areas. You can park around the square but its not free during the week or on Saturday, I believe its only free on Sundays. It can be hard to find a parking spot.

By jmbodle76 |

We just wanted to grab some lunch. Ate at a little place at the square. I’ve been to a few of the places on the square before and they’re all great. Christmas time they have an ice skating rink. They have different kinds of entertainment at different times during the year. The square has really come a long way.

Nice square for little dinner and walk. There is ice cream shop, pizza and few other restaurants. Food is good and you can walk around circle. There is a fountain too

I had the pleasure of visiting this small town square this morning. Wow, many different and eclectic vendors to match just about any palette. From Tamales to Smoked trout, you can find sorts of neat food and home items. Extremely friendly people and great choices. When I come back to Atlanta I am definitely heading up to the square.

There is a reason Marietta Square is becoming a popular site for movie making. It's a nice size-- not too big, not too small. It is surrounded by carefully maintained historic buildings. It has a fountain AND a gazebo AND a playground. The Strand Theater at the northeast corner harkens back to days long gone. There are shops and restaurants on every side, and businesses on the upper floors ensure that there are people around even when the tourist traffic is slim. It's just a pleasant place to be.

By Bbqman3341 |

But you can feel the vibe as soon as you get there. It’s fun, exciting and you can feel the vibe. It’s dressed up in all its finery for the holidays. Good mix of restaurants. More than all that it’s the perfect place for a stroll, to window shop or wine n fine your sweetheart.

By SugeesMom |

There’s so many different restaurants on the Marietta Square so you will not be disappointed! You can scroll the streets safely and there’s always something happening during the weekends. We enjoy our “date nights” on the Marietta Square! So much to see and do!

By Mary142011 |

So much to see. Even though the weather wasn't great, it was fun to walk around and explore the different shops and galleries. Definitely will come back!

Quiet place of reflection. Place to watch young couples and children play and relax. Beautiful fountain and gazebo. Perfect place for professional photographers, wedding, graduations, etc.k

By K-nine9 |

Parents playing with their kids, couples getting to know one another sometimes music from the band stand. This is THE Square. There is a good variety of restaurants near by and a couple of entertainment venues

By Bob B |

On a sunny day in Georgia my wife and I frequent Marietta Square. Nice little specialty shops. Many wonderful restaurant choice and in the evening the Strand is a great place to go to see live theatre.

By jay919 |

Glover Park is a very lovely park in the center of historic Marietta. It is shady with lots of trees and lovely flowers blooming in each season. There are numerous events all year long that center around the Marietta Square. The park is surrounded by local shops, theaters and restaurants. Many of the restaurants have outdoor seating so you can enjoy the weather and the local scenery.

Something for everyone! Beautiful square and always something going on or going to be. I love the farmers market on Sat. and Sunday. Great live music, art shows, lots of antiques.

By Culture786892 |

This is my home and I love it. Small town charm just outside of Atlanta. There is a reason a lot of movies and TV shows use the square for location.

By Benjamin S |

I proposed to my wife at the fountain. A great place to hand out. A lot of cool places to eat, shop, or get a great cup of coffee. Super trendy.

By DJK |

So what I like about the Marietta square is they are constantly holding events here. During the holidays they decorate the place and hold all sorts of events here. I recommend coming here during arts fest. And any of the beer festivals.

By Lovetowrite333 |

This is one of my favorite places to visit when I go to Marietta. The Marietta Square has something for everyone!. A beautiful park for the kids to play in. A classic theatre playhouse. A large number of restaurants and bars. The list goes on and on. The stores are fun to check out, I especially recommend the antique store. One of my favorite places to eat there is Marietta Pizza Company! Delicious! They even have markets during the weekends and holiday festivities such as a haunted tour, wine tasting and much more! Check it out. Only downfall is parking can be a problem. There is however a free parking garage just around the corner. I highly recommend this little gem hidden within Marietta!

By davidfD5244FY |

Marietta square is near my work, and a great place to find lunch, dinner or a beer after work. I also find myself at Eddies trick shop quite often, which is a fin place to kill some time, watching a magic trick, or just hiding from the weather.

By Stephanie C |

I was in town visiting my sister and we got something to eat and went for a stroll around the plaza. Excellent.

By G639JHcesarp |

One of many features of Cobb County that add so much to living here! Great variety of events, nice little restaurants, and antiquing!

By HJR1960 |

Marietta Square is a credit to city planners in Cobb County. The areas are conducive to sitting on the grass, reading a book and enjoying the beauty of nature. The landscaping is well-manicured and the colors complement the surroundings.

By Bob S |

A quaint and quiet Southern town square to dine, relax, sightsee amd unwind. Great ambiance, good selection of resturants and some family owened and operted businesses

By Scott T |

very beautiful my children had fun running through the park and my wife loved the flowers around the square

By Jack O |

Post Christmas with décor still up. Model train for kids to climb aboard and ice skating. Cafe's available around the square for lunch. Cute pet supply store and toy store on the square as well.

By Leighy |

This is an awesome little square with a nice variety of restaurants and fabulous people watching. Very lovely and quaint! :)

By tommychomper |

Tons of great restaurants, Ice cream, coffee etc. This town has pretty much everything and has a great feel to it. Great surrounding neighborhood too.

By hbg11102 |

Great place to relax. To bring children to play. I’ve seen movies being shot there. Weddings often take place. Concerts in the spring and summer. It’s just an overall great location.

By irene c |

Ate at the Burgers and Bones Restaurant.
Our food was outstanding. The server was friendly and helped with our orders.
It was a Friday night and we were told we had an hour wait but we're seated in 20 minutes.

By millerjunk |

The square is really nice. We parked in a parking garage nearby and went to the firefighter museum. It is a free walk through museum and we also got a quick tour of the current fire dept by one of the firemen. He told us to go visit the square and we went and walked around a bit. The area is really clean and has a lot of stores. It was so darn hot we couldn't walk around much. The traffic, like everywhere in Georgia is ridiculous so have patience.

By David S |

Great place to wander around and multiple food options! Started with a couple of Bloody Mary’s at Schillings then had a Lobstah Roll at Cousins in the Mahketplace! Check out the square on Saturday mornings when they have the farmers market and Art Festival.

By Thomas M |

Today, 11/11 was a Military Festive Day in the Square, honoring past and present Military Women and Men. The Square and Stage was decorated beautifully. Military women and men in their dress uniforms were greeting all of the veterans in attendance. There was a long parade with many Veterans riding in cars and floats, many high school bands, service dogs, horses, restored WW 2 vehicles, fire, rescue and police vehicles. At the trailing end of the parade were many many Patriot Guards riding motorcycles. It was a wonderful parade. After the parade there were speakers on the stage telling interesting stories. Yes, I am proud to have served this Great Country for 22 years in the United States Navy, riding 3 aircraft carriers.

By Diane P |

Has a lot of history and quent, lots of small shops to visit, relaxing town center, great museums, interesting old southern history to learn

By Jalapeno Bob |

Congratulations 🍾 to the Marietta Square for creating a bonafide Cobb Country tradition in the Saturday street fair full of fresh Farm to table food delicacies.

It may be too cold now for the next couple of months, but be sure to check this market out next spring to bring home a basket of organic goodies

By kevro510 |

I love walking around the sqaure when i visit Marietta . There are so many unique shops to go through and so many awesome places to eat. I love sitting by the Fountain just to pass time. Always one of my favorite places.

By Kswany |

Walking around Marietta Square you feel like you are back in time. The nostalgic stores around the square and old movie theater make this a great afternoon stroll.

By Noelle |

I have lived in North Georgia for 25 years and had never visited this place until recently. My friend and I had so much fun walking around, visiting the stores and eating!! Make sure to have at least a few hours to enjoy this area.

By william s |

Many interesting things to experience: Glover Park with free monthly concerts and people watching; farmers market on Saturday and Sunday mornings with lots of dogs and some live music; Strand Theater with many very affordable concerts; plus lots of places to eat and shop.
Parking in the garage one block north of the square is free after 5PM and on weekends. There is free on street parking if you can find an open spot.
See photos !

By elkhorn86 |

Met friend for lunch at The Marietta Local and afterwards walked through Square. Had many Christmas Trees to see. Festive and Fun!

By optoretirement |

Nice, safe, clean and open atmoshere. Well done Marietta!
Park is large and people are very friendly. Many good food spots Coarthoise and law offices across the street look good. Plenty of good parking spots with little or no charge. Perfect weather.

By Jwvv |

Always a pleasure to spend a few minutes here . It is a great Center Square of a small southern city. Nature and people watching.

By John M |

What a wonderful walk to view the decorations in the stores, restaurants, and square. The trees decorated by all the schools are a real treat. Go enjoy the sights while you shop and eat.

By maryellen262016 |

I have lived in Marietta for 23 years. This is one of our favorite places to go, especially to take our out of town guests there. Always something going on, festivals, concerts, celebrations. Also cute stores and so many amazing restaurants to choose from. Great variety of food. Parking is sometimes a challenge but if you can't find a place there are parking garages just off the square.

By bob h |

Nice open place that you can feel relaxed in. The water fountain gets very busy with people taking photos. There are lots of good restaurants on or near the square.

By Doreen G |

Enjoyed walking around the square and visiting all the local stores! Then we had dinner and cocktails after!

By bonnia562 |

Lots to do. There are several good restaurants. They have fireworks on special occasions. Parking lots and street meters available to park.

By galegallager |

Love the square and surrounding area stores and restaurants. On weekends visit the farmer's market and the seasonal artist markets in Saturdays. Same with Friday Night Art Walks which are monthly but also seasonal.

Great place for families and couples on date night.

By Carol A S |

Marietta Square is in the heart of the Historic Marietta Square District. Towering trees are a living link to the past and offer welcome shade in hot weather. Brick walks, wrought-iron fences, park benches, a cascading fountain and gazebo are classic Victorian-era. It is a great place to stroll, sit, relax, people-watch, or enjoy an outdoor lunch. Special events such as live music, art shows, the Saturday morning farmer's market or wine tastings are a special treat. The Cobb County court house, the Strand theater, restaurants and boutiques surround the square, and a steam locomotive and the Gone With The Wind Museum are close by. Parking on the square may be hard to find, but there is a multi-level garage at the nearby courthouse (free off-hours), and generally street parking is available within a several-block radius.

By ezpawn |

Lovely area to eat and walk round to shop, wish we had more time to just stroll and shop! Lots of local restaurants and eateries, has a park area for sitting and plenty of parking for vehicles.

By TXMARTINS |

The Marietta Square is a great place to explore any day but it shines on Saturdays when the Farmers Market takes over on the outside edge of the square. Lots of paid parking lots available, free spots go fast. Tons of great restaurants and shops to support local business and tons of outside seating.

By Kim S |

Just a wonderful, fun, friendly place. They had all kinds of crafts. Also had all kinds of food. Had things for kids. We took our grandchildren. Went in a restaurant and ate and cooled off.

By Glenda W |

My husband and I recently traveled to Marietta while visiting with our daughter in Vinings, GA. I love the town square with the pretty park in the middle! We enjoyed the fountain in Glover Park with the gazebos and replica of the Liberty Bell. I enjoyed shopping in the boutiques surrounding the park on the square and eating ice cream while sitting on a bench watching the children looking at the fountain!!

By Michael B |

Great place to go no matter what is going on in the world. Free parking, great local businesses, and a tranquil place to just hang out!

By kadesa2017 |

Great place to walk and shop. Discover small family owned businesses where the focus is on quality. Great way to spend a day and discover some old and new gems.

By BallDawg |

I grew up in Marietta and remember the treat of getting to play in the Square as a kid. There are a lot of great shops and restaurants surrounding the Square in walking distance and the city of Marietta does a great job with the many festivals and such throughout the year on the Square. Even today, my wife and I love to come to the Square for a meal or drinks.

By margygarvais |

Beautiful downtown area and park filled with friendly people who are dog friendly, and willing to recommend sights. Great food options and great shopping. The farmers market on Saturday morning is worth the trip. Local music makes the atmosphere even better.

By Traveling5 |

Second time here and still love it. The square is charming and the places around it so much fun. We enjoyed the candy store and various places to grab a bite. We’ll be back!!

By Patricia M |

I was pleased to see music groups on the sidewalk as we walked along to our dinner location. I would love to go there when the weather was not so humid, would be fun to just sit and have a beer and listen to the music.

By Joyce B |

Love the Farmers Market on Saturday. They have so many venders on Saturdays. Sunday the farmers market is very small and not worth going to.

By lanisongbird |

The Square has many very lovely shops, including vintage goods and clothing, antiques, and nice restaurants. The Vineyard Tea Room is the nicest tea room this side of the Big Pond.

By doobie48 |

Love going to the Square. So much to do. A variety of restaurants, some of them quite good! A couple of nightspots with live entertainment. A terrific weekend farmers market. Would have rated it higher, but the city recently stopped free parking the parking decks on weekends.

By JohnPatsi |

A quintessential central southern square with Band shells statues fountains and lots of green space surrounded with benches to sit down gossip and people watch.

By lizarns |

Refreshing in the shade on a hot day. So many good food choices! Clean and quaint. Reminds me of Savannah.

By Jimmy C |

Marietta Square is a great spot for a mid-day getaway or evening out with your special person. The weekends will find it full of live music or events and one night per month a FREE concert will take over the square and the surrounding streets. Great food and shopping are located around the square and several blocks in any direction. While visiting Marietta, or even Atlanta, plan an evening on the square.

By S.T. Entertainment & Reviews |

The old square at Marietta has a great historic charm there's so much to do. From all the great restaurants shops to just sitting on one of the benches watching the beautiful water fountain. A great place to go spend a little money take a picnic and just relax and enjoy the outdoors.

By 30066 |

By Doug2789 |

The Marietta Square has so much variety for restaurants, music, antiques, special events on the weekends, lots of local people who enjoy a relaxing atmosphere

By Christine B |

Shops, restaurants, and entertainment on The Square. Always something to see or do. Love to bring "out-of-towners" to enjoy our "touch of country in the city"

By LoneStarTraveling |

She said yes, so 5/5 would recommend. :) Great shops and restaurants nearby. Be sure to stop by Australian Bakery—the owner is one of the nicest people we’ve met.

By Chris-Lara Q |

Great trip, day or night. Lots of good food and opportunities for the kids to meet and enjoy other kids.

By HappyWeGo |

Stop in for some wonderful ice cream... Have lunch and a stroll around... Have dinner and a show... or just sit and people watch. Relax and enjoy!

By nancyconner |

The shops were unique and fun to shop in. The ice cream shops were a hit. I enjoyed the visitors center. There were cute murals on some of the businesses. Lots of cafes with seating outside.
There were too many homeless people camping out in the park though. It was hard to take some nice pictures around the fountain with people sleeping there.

By deewaldron |

Marietta is a nice town, with a theatre, several nice restaurants, entertainment in the square, antique shops and a history museum and the “gone with the wind” museum. A very nice place to visit while in the area. Also visit the Atlanta Zoo while in the area. One of the nicest I have been to.

By 218tealg |

There are always kids running and playing at the playground in the square and the train for play is a big hit. Pretty fountain and gazebo for couples to take pictures at. Patio seating overlooks the square at several restaurants. Try to hit the first Friday of the month for the art walk where artists line the streets and the small stores stay open late.

By RetiredAndTravelling |

The Marietta Square is a fun place to be. It is a beautiful place with lots of trees and benches for relaxing. I’ve seen a lot of people walking around and some bring their lunch to eat at the benches. I also saw someone with pet bird sitting in the area. It was nice to see variety of things in one place. It’s also a great place to walk your dog or just to hangout.

By bli1220 |

This is very cute place to visit-old time city square with plenty of shops. My daughter recommended it so gave it a try and very much enjoyed it.

By ViajeroOmega |

The Marietta Square used to be a nice and quaint place to spend time with your family and had plenty of dinning from very affordable to high-end restaurants. Parking was free in the parking decks owned by the city of Marietta outside of business hours. In an effort to capture more revenue from visitors, several projects were done to expand the sidewalks and create space for outside tables for restaurants around the square. Now there are events every other weekend (or more frequently, it seems) and large crowds take away the charm that it used to have. Parking is no longer free and restaurants have become a lot more expensive.

By Vicki N |

Nice place to shop and eat; just wish more stores were open on Sundays. Checked out the new Marietta food hall — ok if you like a crowded open mess hall type place with different eateries to order food. Way too noisy for me, but might consider going back during the week when it’s not so crowded. Favorite restaurant is still Stockyard Burgers.

By Carlos G |

Visited for xmas season, a very nice downtown place where they conserve the good old times, little shops make you feel in the 70s or 80s, with a variety of restaurants.

By Tim P |

There's all kinds of shops on the square and lots of restaurants too, basically something for everybody. The antiques aren't as good as they were years ago but there's all kinds of whatnot to be found. Love the food.. all good!

By Stewart C |

What a great time to wander the Square with grandson!! Walked around Square and saw all the Square has to offer. From breakfast, to dessert, to shopping, to bars, restaurants, plus the Strand, and the Theater on the Square. It was such a treat. Plus Glover Park was such an addition. Just made the whole trip so wonderful!!

By vbollin |

Saturday's farmers market is great! Nice mix of things from crafts to veggies. Yummy breakfast treats

By John C |

Marietta Square gives you that home town feel. It is a very nice place that once you are there it will take you back to a slower time. The Square has multiple events through out the year, that all ages can attend.

By rcl5 |

The square is nice overall. Nice homey feel, quaint, historic.. The restaurant and bars are ok, some nice ones and some that are just, well, basic. Traffic to/from is bad and parking can be tough. Worth a look but during the week and choose food carefully

By beeno0412 |

Great square to take a walk around and pop in some shops or restaurants. When we visited, there was the Festival of Trees with holiday trees decorated by various schools and organizations in the area. I might recommend holding off on food here as the Marietta Square Market (food hall) is a short walk away and has something for everyone.

By A. W |

Lots of shops, love the clothing boutiques, love the restaurants around the square and the concerts are so fun.

By honestlyspeakg |

I love the Marietta square. There is always something going on... such as art, Jass, music, food tastings festivals, they have a farmer's market every week, art contest, Google the calendar... Plenty of places to eat, small boutiques to shop in, my husband loves the Cigar shop. They even have a playhouse. Great for a Saturday/Sunday afternoon with or without the family. During events, parking can be challenging, comfortable shoes are suggested. It's old time Georgia ♡.

Love it!

By CurlyQ21601 |

The square takes you back in time. Fountains, gazebo's, benches all around for great people watching. There is a train for the kiddos to take a ride. Lots of little home town stores and restaurants. Check out Rocket Fizz! Great back in the day candy shop.
2 hr parking limit is a bit too short.

By John H |

The Square is a great place to go for a walk in the winter (or any other time of the year. The Square was home to an ice skating rink the last few winters- quite unique - unless one is from the North (including Canada). The only thing missing (when the rink was there) was the hot cider

The restaurants around the Square offer some good food choices - from Italian, to traditional, to South American and a little Australian - to boot.

The Square is a unique place year round !!

By Georgia PE |

Nicely landscapes and maintained. Safe and ever expanding. Many events here from concerts to art fairs. Great restaurants.

By JoyBeth F |

Very nice farmers market too! Lots of specialty shops and plenty to see and do. The restaurants are great too. This is a must see!

By tamiennis60 |

Luckily I am only 6 miles from the square. I don't have any reason to go that way during the week, but when I'm ready to take a stroll on a weekend, that's where I head. The fresh market is a must, so take a cooler to keep things in, while you continue walking the square deciding where to have a coffee, mimosa, beer, lunch, breakfast, or just pop in and out of the eclectic stores. Now they have added the new Marietta Marketplace off the square, which is the big indoor multi restaurant area. It's definitely a cool spot for the younger crowd, which will probably draw more Kennesaw State kids to the area. The good news is, the wait time for restaurants on the square has lightened up a bit.

By qwispi |

Perfect little square in the middle of Marietta, surrounded by shops (including ice cream!), restaurants, theaters, government offices. Great photo ops. Play area for children with real train. "Liberty" style bell. In the middle of the park is a very lovely 3-tiered fountain. Outside stage for performances -- both planned and impromptu. Lovely picturesque gazebo. Perfect for strolling with friends, family, visitors, loved one, and dogs.

By Chief |

Take some time to slow down and enjoy life! A playground for the kids with a little train set. A band shell (Kinda) and a wonderful fountain. You can do some serious people watching. You can pick what restaurant you might like to have lunch or dinner .

By mike14220 |

This would of been a better experince if we would of went on a saturday. We went on a sunday and the square was pretty much dead.

By Pete K |

Wonderful place to take grandkids and enjoy the trains, water fountain and ice cream at Sweet streets

By JohnPatsi |

A Southern Square as it should be. Ample square space in the center of the square with statues and band shells and fun walking trails. Surrounding this is a mixture of many varieties of stores from ice cream stores to candy Shoppe to toy stores to fancy restaurants. There is also an outstanding theater called the strand which is a renovated article building well worth visiting

By Jennifer S |

It’s refreshing to see quaint local / small businesses thriving in the US! We visited several shops on the square. There is a wide variety of cafes, coffee, bars and shopping as well as local activities to get involved in that are family friendly and sometimes free to the public. There are graffiti walls, art galleries, a train depot and more to explore!

By Ruth35091 |

Marietta Square is a great place to sit and relax. Lots of good eating around the Square. On the weekends, is an open market with many vendors to choose from. It is also a place that kids can come and play and run around.

By steph |

Lots of shops and restaurants in a very pleasant area. Ideally located we were able to enjoy the annual international art festival. Well worth the trip up from Orlando.

By Cricketblue99 |

Recent visit on a Friday afternoon. They were setting up for a concert in the square so parking was bad but the variety of shops and food made it worth it!

By Carol B |

The square is usually hopping with activity, from concerts in the park in the evening, to craft shows, to holiday activities, and numerous other events. There is plenty of parking one block away. You will find a lot of restaurants around the square as well as some interesting shops to wander into. It is just a fun family event. Try picking a time and date when it has a scheduled activity going on.

By SouthernBelles98 |

The square is a fun place to visit! There is always an active vibe here and you can park and atoll between restaurants, bars, shopping boutiques, and other local shops. There is a park in the middle where there is sometimes entertainment or events. Parking can sometimes be a challenge depending on the time of day but there are side lots available.

By Outlawa1 |

I always found Marietta to be a cute, quaint little town, and loved the theaters, restaurants, festivals, and 5K races there. Unfortunately, this town has decided to be the only place in metro Atlanta with red light cameras, which harass people who come to enjoy the city. There are many cute towns around Atlanta without red light cameras (Norcross, Decatur, and Roswell come to mind), so I go these places instead of Marietta.

By Connie D |

I was called to jury duty in Cobb County in November 2017. So I spent some solo time walking around Marietta square, visiting shops and restaurants. It is a pleasant place to spend an afternoon. Restaurants are pretty good, shops are interesting, bubble tea shop was fun. Enjoyed strolling around the square. Not exactly an exciting destination, but if you end up here, you will likely enjoy it.

By alli2018 |

Lots of restaurants and small shops to browse in. Pleasant to walk around with a bit of traffic but no difficulties.

By Sue B |

The Square is a great place to spend a day or two. There are lots of very good restaurants or all types, from fusion to Columbian to Spanish tapas to open market fast food to choice culinary . . . It is a beautiful place to stroll and take in the historic architecture, including some of the surrounding streets with antebellum eclectic homes. The Mountain to River Trail passes by the outside of the Square by the train tracks, and you can use it to get all the way to Kennesaw Mountain for an amazing hiking experience and some local Civil War history. There is a farmer's market on the weekends, and frequent festivals. Check out the Chalktoberfest taking place in October - one of the best chalk-art-on-the-street festivals in the world. It is a great walking town. I live and work nearby.

By pickmick |

Great outdoor venue for music. Go early and grab a bite to eat at one of many excellent restaurants around the square. Activities are abundant throughout the year.

By SimplyBob |

Marietta Square is a great place to spend a few hours. We attended the last day of Art in the Park. We were thrilled with how many exhibitors participated. Jewelry, art, crafts, food and drink were plentiful.

Well done!

By Peggy O |

Awesome place to visit. Does need additional restaurants but outside of the square there are other options.

By Gina J |

We moved one block off the square last year and have made many memories since then. The best moment by far was Wednesday the Fourth with our three month old grandson. I didn't see many fireworks busy watching his reaction to the sky. My husband took me to the square on our first date 19 years ago. Now the new generation will enjoy all of the events as well. If you are from out of town or a proud local, there is something for you in the Marietta Square. Favorite breakfast The local. Favorite Beer and dining Two Birds. Favorite treat is a tie between Sweet Treats Mocha Almond Fudge Ice cream and/or a trip down memory lane at Rocket Fizz. Drink an Ice cold Ale8. The best soda on the planet. Don't forget your camera when you stroll around the fountain😁🇺🇸🇺🇸

By cpk2001 |

If you like trendy overpriced food and tourists this is the place. It has lost its charm. Eateries are OK but over priced. If you are selective you might find something

We love Marietta Square, there are plenty of places for a good meal, great coffee and desserts and people watching! Summer brings the farmer markets on Sundays with plenty of fresh fruit, vegetables and other goodies. Concert Series is another favorite for great music and lazy afternoons with some wine, cheese and friends.

By Wynn M |

The Square has great places to eat and it’s a relaxing place to sit while the grandkids play!
I also love that it is pet friendly!

By Toni B |

We were there prior to a concert at the Strand Theatre. The weather was perfect and it was a lovely way to spend time. Perfect people watching occasion. Little kids, senior couples. The stylish and the casual. Window shopping and dining are also to be enjoyed around the square. The night we were there there was a small artist market and street musicians. Charming.

By Abby J |

I have loved in the area for a while, and I always love coming to the square with friends and family. There are a lot of VERY good restaurants and shops. The shops usually close pretty early though, so if you want to shop, you need to come a little early.

By Tad B |

Need a walk in the park, a bubbling fountain or two, a place to sit on a sunny or shaded bench? This and much more awaits you in the center of Marietta Square. Bandstand, clean bathrooms and even free sunscreen dispensers, plus many food options surrounding the Square make it a great place to linger!

By Greg P |

Marietta Square is a combination of 'Old Days Charm' and 'Modern Functionality'. It is a neat and always immaculately clean old fashioned town square with flowers, benches, trees, and a gazebo that surround a large fountain at its center. The picturesque surroundings often serve as backdrops for wedding and graduation pictures. There is a playground for the kids and a stage for concerts and political rally's. It is surrounded by several excellent restaurants and many shops, which make it a great weekend destination. It has recently been used as the backdrop for several movies that have been filmed in Marietta.

By Elainegeorgia |

Frequently used for summer concerts, wedding or graduation photos. I am personally not much on haning out in the middle of downtown Marietta... but it has been used for movie shoots.

By hikinggirl70 |

Cute little square where you can relax on park benches to people watch, read, or eat while enjoying the fountain in the center. Plenty of unique shops, cute restaurants, and just laid back atmosphere. Parking actually on the square is a nightmare though, best bet is to park in one of the public parking lots and walk. They have bookstores, little boutiques, ice cream, drink shops, coffee shops, and nice blend of restaurants that majority have outside dining options. You will see plenty of people walking their dogs too. They do have events frequently on the square too from music to craft shows to ice skating in winter. Just a cool place to relax and enjoy.

By Ken K |

great place to go and experience community events. not overwelming for young child and toddler. safe atmosphere and not alot of walking to have a large variety of food choices.

By Pat G |

Large group from my office ate lunch at MPC after volunteering at local charity event. The food and service was great!

By BoomerDoodle |

Dog friendly. Sunday walk today was dreary weather but the people watching was fun. The staff in stores that allowed dogs were great! Marietta Pizza - highly recommend!

By K101070 |

Stopped by on our way to Lights of Life. The kids loved the train to climb on and the gazebo. The community decorated Christmas trees were so sweet. Plenty of stores to wander through and find unique items. Many places to eat. We very much enjoyed our time at the square.

By Songbirdterry |

My granddaughter and I enjoyed walking around the square looking in all the shops. We had a bite to eat at Sugar Cakes Patisserie and sat by the window. She spied Lizards and Lollipopz even before dinner so we had to go make a visit. Anything and everything for kids in the huge shop! Can't wait to go back to try another restaurant!

By Bernadette W |

I go to Marietta Square pretty often and it is a comfortable homey place to just slow down and relax a bit..in the park, on a bench, with an ice cream, or a slice of pizza, around the fountain, or watching the kids climb on the little train. There are concerts and art shows, etc. at different times of the year, and fireworks, too. Around the park there are some quaint little shops with antiques, boutiques, and several great restaurants at a range of prices. Relaxing and a bit quaint with wonderful food, treats, and drinks available.

By Renee Y |

Cute shops and the dining options at Marietta Square Market are great. Not crowded in the middle of a weekday, but also some things were closed.

By Robert S |

Marietta Square is the main epic centre to Marrieta. With the many events around the square and the amble places to meet and eat with friends. Music, Art, quiet solitude amongst the trees.

By jpurifyjr |

Well keeper park area with bench seating and cool shade for a hot summer day. Once you have rested a spell, you can choose a cool treat from the many ice cream and drink shops off the Square. Classic Georgia small town feel surrounded by some of the best dinning in Cobb County.

For a stroll in the park with picturesque background, you have arrived...

The square gets better every year with the additional of new restaurants and now the Marietta Food Hall. It's a great for date night or to take the whole family

By Deborah Wood |

Marietta GA is my home. Beautiful period architecture, lovely tree lined streets, friendly staff in all the shops and restaurants, crazy fun to people watch because the two courthouses sit on the square LOL. LOVE the Farmers Market ... nice shaded streets in summer, hot cider in winter just a delightful place to visit for a taste of the "New South"

By Bdelatorre |

Walked around the square and had lunch. Farmers market was going on; Sat before noon. Very nice area to hang out.

By Martha G |

I was great to celebrate the 4th of July, the USA Independence Day in Marietta Square. The fireworks were beautiful, the police activity made us to be secured.

By Juan The foodie |

Very enjoyable time. The square area is beautiful with many nice restaurants, the trains and the little stores. It is very nice to walk the square. I will definitely come back!

By Greg C |

Great place to take your family, wonderful concerts in the park, take the family and children. Weekend Farmers Market is fantastic

By Alan N C |

Sometimes the Square is the site of music gatherings (which I have not experienced), During the summer months, the Marietta Farmers Market is in the street beside the Square, and is a worthwhile excursion.

When there are no organized activities, the Square is a pleasant place to sit and people-watch. Of interest is a faithful replica of the Liberty Bell.

By Dean Landeche |

Whenever we visit Marietta for lunch, shopping or recreation, we're drawn to the Square and surrounding area. On Saturdays, we frequently visit the Farmers Market. We've enjoyed concerts in the Square, shopping on it's perimeter, and resting on the benches during bike rides. We particularly enjoyed Skewers, a newer restaurant, and the ice cream and coffee shops.

By Pam S |

I love the Square. There are several nice restaurants and little shops. And the square is nice to walk through or just sit. They have concerts during the summer and farmer's markets, car shows and Christmas decorations during the respective seasons. AND, it was used in filming one of the recent Christmas Hallmark movies.

By HHow |

There are excellent places to eat around the square and wonderful boutique shops. The square is a park where you can relax and enjoy people watching when you need a break!

The Marietta Square gives you the Savannah atmosphere without having to drive 5+ hrs. Family friendly, easy to navigate, mom & pop type shops, REALLY great restaurants, a couple fun watering holes, the weekend farmers market, the artist market, and the occasional festival.I love the square and its home town feel.

Love Marietta Square. There are many unique shops and yummy places to eat. Love all the events they have throughout the year. Very family oriented!

By DMLPrideTravel |

The square is a great way to explore and shop and grab some food all at the same time. From Miss Mamie's to the Antique Shop and Old Fashioned Candy Shop there is a lot to do, including play in the park in the center of the square.

By Richard P |

We moved out of state recently after living in Marietta since 1979. Really miss the square. It's amazing to watch how the square has evolved over the years. So much better with the unique shops, restaurants, and activities.

By meteems |

Marietta Square offers almost anything you may want. Great for singles or families. I love just relaxing and people watching at the fountain.

By Michael D |

This litte sqare has many restaurants, a coffee shop, antiques, a gazebo, shade trees, and charm. They have street festivals and a farmers market. This is a nice place to spend a two to three hours. There are parking garages off the square that are free on the weekend. Street parking is difficult.

By Katryn T |

Bring your own lunch and in good weather enjoy the actual square. Other option eat at one of the many restaurants it has to offer. There are many events that happen throughout the year so always look on the several local website's for things to do.

By Diann S |

Great place to visit and wander around when in town and some god places to eat can be found around the square.

By dcharvey46 |

Marietta Square is a lovely place to stroll and enjoy the out of doors. If you want to eat there are numerous restaurants around the area.

By gwen p |

The Marietta Square is a welcoming place to sit in the shade & relax. The large central fountain adds a musical peace to the Square and is a favorite gathering spot for children of all ages to sit & dangle their feet in the water. A large toy replica of a train engine is installed near the fountain and provides a perfect for children to climb and explore.
The Square is flanked by many appealing eateries and small shops. It's one of the best places to eat the ice cream you might need to buy before you leave the Square.

By ModerationForMe |

I was waiting on family at a nearby concert and ended up over here. I was surprised to see so many people out. I stopped and walked around some. There is a nice garden, some interesting old buildings and stores. Plus, lots of places to eat. Great after dark.

By Andrea A |

The picturesque Glover Park at Marietta Square has become a choice location for movie sets, art festivals, concerts and a weekend farmers market. Couples utilize the gazebo for weddings as well with the pretty park as a backdrop.

By Matheus007 |

Right off the set of Back to the Future, this land that time forgot is a good place for an afternoon stroll. Surrounded by restaurants and shops, one can get a good meal here or pass the time people watching.

By Footprints605252 |

Beautiful day, unique shops and a variety of restaurants to choose from. Noticed signs for numerous upcoming activities in the square!

By Joey K |

For close to 30 years I have off and on visited the historic Marietta Square. Even as their are updates added throughout the years, somehow the square manages to keep that same old time feeling that it's so well known for. Eddie's trick shop is one staple that has remained true throughout the squares history. It's somehow manages to give me that same excited feeling at age 31 as it did walking through there as a kid. The diversity of food available will keep your head spinning and your mouth watering! Always a good time at the square.

By DRIKA1976 |

To take pictures very nice and clean!!!!
I enjoy sitting and watch the fountain, birds and dog owner walking around

By JMiguel |

Excellent day with family, we did photos in the square and had lunch in one of the restaurant. very nice atmosphere!

By ZETA333 |

Love the quaintness of this square. There are food festivals and music festivals to enjoy. The variety of eateries are also great. I recommend Thiakoon for the best sushi you will ever eat. Also the Potpie shop is not to be missed.
The Strand has great shows also

By Martin SS |

The first time I visited Marietta Square was in October 2017 and it was just great! Lots of nice shops and funky restaurants. My wife and I visited again last week (March 2018) and, well, we were surprised. First, most places don't open until 10am or later. Second, they seem to have ripped out a lot of trees and are remodelling the side walk along one whole side of the square - its a big building site. Also we noticed that a few of the shops that were there last year have closed down and are empty. So, all in all, a bit disappointing to what it was. Hopefully by Summer 2018 it will look a lot better - but in March 2018 it was, like, eh... meh.

By Cruiser61204937637 |

Marietta Square is a not nice place to relax because it offers anyone not just park benches to sit down and have conversations but there are so many restaurants and bars for those who want to eat and drink.

By adam8922 |

Beautiful walk around the square. People everywhere and families. Pets with owners. A truly friendly day. Eateries were crowded inside and out. Atmosphere is amazing

By KarlaCocoa |

Much happens on the Square at times, and then there are quiet days of sweet nothingness. Festivals, concerts, prom night photos, carriage rides and a fabulous farmer's market on the weekends.

By lenay662018 |

The square is beautiful and has a large variety of places to eat depending on your taste. You can ride in a pedicab offered by The Historic Marietta Trolley Company on the weekends.

By Michelle S |

Marietta Square has all kinds of unique shops, historic museums to visit, and even a farmers market on the weekend. There is something here for everyone to enjoy even the kids! Best time to visit is on the weekend early in the day because the shops do close somewhat early, but you can always find multiple restaurants to visit after shopping. The center of the square is fantastic to sit back, relax and have some lunch by the water fountain. Sometimes you can catch people painting along the street or even playing music!
One of the downsides is there is not a lot of parking, however, it is free to park in the parking deck on the weekends.

By Susanne W |

Nice place for a walk . Great shops for clothing and other gifts. Several restaurants to choose from. Love the Weekend Market !

By a68lock |

The square had many seating options with big benches or smaller ones, grass area for picnics, fountain for some wishes and relaxing sounds and a bricked area for concerts during the year or bike riding. There is a stage for performances. Kids love the play choo choo train to climb on and the slide down. Friendly locals and some visitors - just a few minute walk from the Welcome Center. The shops and variety of restaurants surrounding the square are great! Farmers market every week, Chalktoberfest, artists market every few weeks, STRAND Theatre are a few wonderful features of this gem! Several movies and a TV series have used the square for its set.
Parking is street side, a few lots close by or 2 parking decks a few minutes walk.

By A5136BBcolinb |

The Marietta Square will take you back to lazy days of small town life, but now squarely in the middle of the hustle and bustle of suburban Atlanta. The Marietta Square is actually a beautiful park with big trees and a gazebo. There is Art in the Park; Music in the Park; Kids in the Park. And the park (the Square) is surrounded on three sides by restaurants, shops, bakeries, and the famous Strand Theater. And on the fourth side? The County Courthouse of course.

By Diana S |

Would highly recommend going to the Marietta Square! They have events going on most of the time, which are typically family friendly!

By Damien S |

The folks on the board of directors for the Marietta Square have gone out of their way to make sure that no franchises or chain stores/restaurants are on the square (although a Starbucks is within walking distance). This gives the square a very unique feel. Also, many movies are filmed and photo shoots take place here all the time.

By SpectreJon |

The Square is a great place to hang out, let your kids and pets play, and definitely eat. There are a plethora events that happen throughout the year including art festivals, concerts, and even Farmer's Markets. With plenty of local resturants and shops you'll find things you didn't even know you missed!

By Terry S |

Marietta Square is a beautiful traditional town square reminiscent of past times. Antique stores, restaurants, pubs, coffee shops and a beautiful fountain are there to please. Visitors will enjoy spending a day at the square. Saturday morning farmer's markets are well attended.

By Carol B |

On Sunday afternoon had a wonderful relaxing experienceMany unique stores and yummy places to eat. It was not crowded and there was no cost to park on a side street and stroll around. The square was very clean and well maintained.

By Julie |

I love Marietta Square. There's always an activity or something fun to do with friends. Lots of lovely shops and restaurants and little park area. Great place to hang out.

By mistyraine |

All the little specialty shops are wonderful. You can sit outside and have breakfast or lunch. On weekends they have a small group of vendors sometimes just produce and foods and sometimes crafters and all of the above. Sometimes they even have the horse drawn buggies and they even offer haunted tours. It is a lovely place to visit

By willygk |

The Square is a beautiful attraction, shaded, serene, in the middle of the suburban City of Marietta. It has been featured in numerous movies, most likely due to it's quaint charm. There is a bandstand that is frequently used from spring through early fall, a beautiful fountain, gazebo, and even a small train engine for children to play on. It is surrounded my at least a dozen very good restaurants and many cute shops.

By dddeb2 |

Being a local, I have done so many things at the square. Celebrations in the park where there are climbing options for kids and a gazebo for pictures and music. Many special events all year round with a few exceptional ones, like the chalk and beer festival in Oct. During the spring and summer you have walk in the park art shows and many other events. A must check out!

By JR2000 |

Concerts are at 8pm the last Friday of the month usually between May and end of Sept. Schedule can be seen on line. In addition every major holiday..4th of July, Labor Day there is a parade and many activities on the square.

Many nice shops and restaurants around the square, so a nice place to walk and explore..

By smv51 |

We love the square in Marietta. It's a friendly place with restaurants, shops, and a place to have fun or relax. The parking can be tricky but not impossible. You can relax and people watch or get a really good meal.

By joanrc23 |

The Marietta Square is a wonderful place to relax during the day and evening. Musical concerts take place on summer evenings and are open to the public. During the summer on Saturday mornings the farmers market sets up to sell their home grown produce. You never know what all you will find at the market. The Greyhound Association even bring dogs that are up for adoption. They are so sweet that it is all you can do to not take them all home with you! If you are ever in Marietta, GA, make sure to make time to come by the square!

By ljsong |

Our whole family likes to go walk the square in Marietta. There are lots of eclectic things to see and do, wonderful photo ops, and the scenery is beautiful. Don't miss an opportunity to enjoy all the things to do in and around the Marietta square. Check online to see when the farmer's market is open there as well as street fairs. So much fun!

By 910texasgal |

Marietta Square is the venue for weekend events from the farmers market, live music attractions, Arts in the Park, Holiday celebrations to include marching bands and parades, food fairs.

Love the Square, I am only a couple blocks from there, and of course so many great places to eat just short walk away.

By amymartha |

It's a cute little spot, several restaurants/dessert shops to walk to for dinner and then stroll around the shops. Concerts are often offered on the stage, and there are art/craft fairs pretty frequently.

By Cindy Wheeler |

Just a cute place to walk with plenty of places to shop, and enjoy lunch, plenty of outdoor seating, but a bit chilly on this trip

By BethMorrison6 |

I enjoyed walking around the square. On a Friday night it's packed with people and parking can be a challenge.

By 556momofboys |

My son took me to Marietta Square when I visited him at college in Marietta. We only had about an hour and a half to spend but it was a great side trip! It was a nice day and people were eating outside the cafe's and there were a lot of dogs with their owners! We stopped in a couple of stores, one being Tiny Bubbles tea bar. What a treat! The Pina Colada with strawberry pops was delicious! The other store we went in was the Rocket Fizz soda shop. Another great, little store with lots of nostalgic merchandise, not to mention every kind of pop (or soda!) you could want!
There was a lot of sidewalk construction going on so the walks were a bit narrow in places but it will be nice when it's done!
We will definitely go back again and visit more stores/restaurants next time and I'm sure it's gorgeous in the late spring and summer!

By michaelsY6854ZY |

If you are looking for an area with a certain downhome feel this maybe the place you would want to go.

By lkpromo |

Charming square convenient to antique shops, historic homes, restaurants, museums, and county government offices.

Glover Park at Marietta Square is a great place to hang out day or night and parking is free! You can hang out on a park bench near the center fountain and people watch or try out one of many great restaurants, art galleries, antiques and other fun shops nearby. There are free concerts in the park in the summer and First Friday’s of the month (March-November) have the most night activity. There’s also the historic Earl Strand Theatre with a rooftop bar (seasonal). There’s also a “Gone With the Wind” Museum and a “Marietta Fire Museum” which has vintage fire trucks and gear. Great for couples or families to just enjoy hanging out together. Favorite Restaurants? My top 3 are: 1) Kiosco (Colombian), 2) Taqueria Tsunami and 3) Stockyard Burgers & Bones. Also love visiting DK Gallery to view their latest featured artists works. Lots to see and enjoy!

By janice h |

Enjoyed checking out the art festival on the Marietta Square. Free parking in the nearby deck makes for easy access. Lovely setting. Enjoyed sitting on a Park bench around the fountain. Nice selection on art in many forms. Games for kids. We also enjoy the free Spring concerts in the Square.

There is usually something going on in the square on weekends, so come visit. After the children play in the fountain and on the train in the play area, try one of the fine restaurants around the square. Johnny McCracken's has great food (be sure to go in on the right side where there is nonsmoking or on the left to the bar). Other options include Sugarcakes (good breakfast and sandwiches), Australian bakery, ice cream store, NY Deli, Marietta Pizza, and more. Afterwards, wander down the street to the Marietta Wine Market and view their great selection. Plenty of shopping options around the square as well. Fun for the whole family.

By Benjamin T |

I've lived in Marietta for two years and love spending time at the Square! I'm looking forward to it especially as the weather gets nicer!

Spent day walking beautiful Marietta Square , and the eclectic shops. Spent 2 hours in amazing java cats cafe, interacting with homeless cats in a sanctuary. By AnnaTheTraveling4Fam |

There isn't really anything to do in the square unless something is going on; there are various fairs & events around Christmas but the square itself is just that: a town square. Its idyllic & shaded and a pretty spot to stop & picnic.

By spoilher |

Nice big square for parking and visiting multiple stores, restaurants, and bars. A very unique town center.

By Trish E |

We love our local square. The shops are so quaint and several carrying local art and food stuff. The restaurants are all excellent depending on your palette. It’s a great afternoon out for friends and family.

By Ward C |

Nice town square to visit. Plenty of shops and variety of restaurants to choose from. Unlike a lot of small town, the majority of the store fronts are occupied. Parking on the square is sometimes a problem, but there are a couple of parking decks about a block off. They are free on the weekends. Great place to spend an afternoon or evening.

Marietta Square is a beautiful place to visit. There are lots of shops around the square and place to eat also.

By jenned17 |

Decided to check out the square while in the area visiting the Gone with the Wind Museum at Brumby Hall nearby. It was the day of their annual Streetfest, so several roads were closed with vendors and a car show, but a great day to visit! Wandered into several shops and were impressed with the restaurants (loved The Local Marietta and Miss Mamie's). Friendly folks in a beautiful downtown. Will be back!

By aaronatl |

I simply love the Marietta square because it's loaded with restaurants, culture, and fun. Surely, you'll find something to do for you and your kids. There are some really good festivities that take place all throughout the year.

By anthobk7 |

Whenever you visit Marietta for leisure time, please stop by the square. The shops and restaurant makes it worth the trip!

By Sharon W |

All my life, it has been one of my favorite places. Even though the shops have changed over the years, the home town feeling is still there and various activities taking place all year long, Whether it's buying fresh vegetables at the open market during the summer, or seeing Halloween displays or my favorite is decorations at Christmas! Plenty of places to eat, then stroll through the square for a little exercise. Love it!

By Michael K |

I love this area of Marietta. We came up here for an arts and crafts festival and there were tents all around the square. There are plenty of great restaurants and bars to choose from in the surrounding area and some interesting history as well.

By I7750EXstevens |

You've all heard it..." Grandpa, let's go here, let's go there.." Admission is only $350 plus food, plus souvenirs. Say "NO" and force them to visit Marietta Square-- especially on an event weekend. It's free. Even the parking is free. We took the Grand kids there a few weeks ago. There were tons of FREE activities to do and lots of beautiful things to see. From classic cars to artists to food and music. Did I say free? Yep. Despite initial objections; the kids had a great time; so did Grandpa.
Oh, hide their cell phones and make them do something they haven't done in years....TALK! Nice place we'll be back. I'm still looking for MY cell phone.

By Samantha1945 |

The square a while back was refurbished by Joanne Woodward and family. I believe she is a Roswell Native and I believe she and Paul Newman lived there for quite some time.
The is beautiful when maintained and I think it is. Concerts are held there.....there are benches to relax on and you are literally in the middle of downtown Marietta. While visiting the shops around it....you can rest in a peaceful, serene setting. That's my take
on the square.

By cynthiamW1532UA |

Lots to eat and see! Art walk draws people from all over the USA. Enjoy the Theater on the Square. Quaint theater with no bad seats.

By Deb P |

Meet up with old friends or make new ones. The Marietta square has lots of art fairs, concerts and fun things to do. Many historical things to see including the old train station, Civil war hotel & the "Gone With the Wind" museum. Very close to historic Kennesaw Mountain where Civil War battles were fought.

By svYonder |

Amply parking around perimeter makes this great center focus for the variety of shops and restaurants in surrounding area. Gives nice village focus. Very historic area as was burnt during Civil War. Museum on square has great collection of artifacts.

By wff1971 |

Many options for food, drinks, walk around, and of course the different festivals they have during the year. Parking can be challenging but it is worthy.

By Dave610Jones |

If you love to stroll and eat different types of food from around the world then this is a must visit location. With plenty of sidewalks, a water fountain and a beautiful park area to relax and even take a quick nap in, Marietta Square offers a culinary flare that is sure to please everyone.

Note: I'm not naming any restaurants by name only by country and cuisine so you can come and find them for yourself. That's half the fun when exploring and who am I to take that away from you! :)

Let's start down under with some Australian food. Or maybe you prefer pizza that is handmade and offers toppings galore, good local beer too!

Or maybe you've got your Irish up and need to get some authentic Fish & Chips, don't forget the Guinness!

Now if you're running out of steam, check out the local coffee roasters and get a cup of Joe.

And speaking of Joe, there's a lot of good American sandwich shops around the square too.

Asian food...yup, there is some of the best in metro Atlanta here.

Okay, I could keep going but that's what you need your feet to do when you come and visit.

BTW the Marietta Square is dog friendly too.

By David J |

Great town square! The center is a small park with restaurants and businesses along the outside. The square is the center of activity and festivals for Marietta.

By Marissa W |

Marietta square is full of great places to eat and relax. Alleyways enjoy the farmers market and for the holidays the ice skating arena.

There is always something fun happening on the Marietta Square. Its like being on a little vacation every time I go!. Good restaurants, fun little shops, frequent local entertainment.

By ladolcevitaAtlanta |

I love going to Marietta. So many restaurants to try out and unique shops to check out. Parking can be a challenge with 2-hour limited parking in the square itself, although there is a big lot by the train tracks that lets you pay in advance for several hours. I usually go to a local theater production and grab dinner afterwards. Always a treat.

By Michael L |

We enjoyed this nice quieter place to visit just outside the busy city areas. The homeless and beggars were the only negative.

By Maurice G |

Live entertainment in park was nice, lots of great restaurants particularly The Stockyard, stores with unique items

By cpoor09 |

Great specialty shops, nice clean square, Lots of good Eats, great weekend events, Very nice central park, It just needs better parking around the square during the week at daytime hours, don't like the 2 hour limit.

By journalmytrips |

It was very pleasant on a hot summer day to walk through the park and see the fountain. Across the streets from the park and the surrounding areas there are plenty of shops and restaurants and not too far away a museum. Covered deck parking is nearby to keep you vehicle cool.

This is what you imagine when you think of a a town square. Big park in center with band stand. Surrounded by great restaurants and shops. Activities happening in the square all the time, concerts, art shows, farmers market and much more. You won’t be disappointed.

By bigmoney50 |

LOVE the Saturday Market and Spice Store. Good variety of food and different kinds of shops. Parking pretty good in decks and next blocks over. Needs more places to just sit and people watch and linger w/o being at restaurant.

By Dave P |

Marietta always seems to have something going on in the downtown area. Craft shows , Farmers Markets, all kinds of entertainment. The square is surrounded by antique and touristy shops and the square itself provides a really nice spot to sit and relax in the shade when you are done with the shopping !
There are plenty of places to eat in the vicinity making it a good place to spend a nice afternoon out.

By Fresche Traveler |

What I love most about the square is the great shops that surround it. Great antiquing and local shops. Don’t miss this area of Marietta!

By Katrac |

Now that construction on the fountain is complete this area in downtown Marietta is beautiful. It is the perfect place for concerts, picnics, festivals, prom photo opportunities and engagement proposals.

By 243doreen |

Had a great time walking around the square! I would love to see a couple more choices for restaurants. I would also like to see more options for parking,

By Wynnrealtor |

We all enjoy going to the Square! We love all the restaurants concerts and Restaurants! Tsunami and Shillings top the list! Can’t wait to see what happens with Shillings !

By WilW |

I love the Square. A good place to take out-of-town visitors for a short stroll. Safe. Lots of restaurants all around (literally!). Not easy to find a parking place adjacent. I parked in the pay parking deck two blocks away.

We've attended street fairs, fireworks, and shopped there and the open air venues are a great place to hang out and relax.

The Marietta Square is beautiful, and it is fun for all ages. They usually have different events going on throughout the year; in addition, there are fantastic shops and restaurants. It’s not just for the locals either. Anyone visiting should go there. It is a historical part of the South and Marietta.

By Rabbitlady255 |

There are multiple shops there and they are not touristy. There is an assortment of restaurants as well. Marietta Square also has Farmer's Markets as well.

By Sharlene T |

This is a great little park in the middle of a quaint Southern town. There are great shops and restaurants all around the park. Lunch Time concerts are a treat in the spring and summer and there are free concerts throughout the year. Christmas on the square is beautiful with Santa's house and decorations and an ice skating rink.

By Lynn O |

Always enjoy the historical setting and variety of shops and restaurants along the Square, as well as special events held here throughout the year. It's a shame, however, that the County allowed court buildings to be built along one side of the square without requiring the architecture to blend aesthetically.

Treated out of town guests to dinner on the square only to find the crab cakes I desired from the menu were "not available". Empanadas, "not available". Settled on a Mahi Mahi sandwich on brioche that turned out to be characteristically thin and dirty tasting Tilapia. My son requested no tomatoes on his Cobb salad however received a salad full of diced under ripe tomatoes we had to pick out after he unknowingly ate one (much to his dislike). Overall, disappointing dinner.

Nothing like taking a walk in the Marietta square on a beautiful day. The park in the middle is very quaint and the city is very inviting. Not to mention the restaurants are delicious!

By lorilee9842 |

Marietta Square is filled with cute shops and wonderful restaurants. There are wonderful events always happening. I love the historic feel of the square and having a coffee or an ice cream while sitting by the center fountain.

Our family visited during the Sidewalk Chalk Art Exhibit. The artists did such an awesome job! It was so much fun! The restaurants are great. The park had entertainment for families and many vendors were there selling their wares. There was also a band performing some of my favorite oldie goldie music-Moody Blues. We always like visiting downtown Marietta at the Square.

By Zeewoman |

Downtown Marietta has several shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. Active night life. Plenty of day time activities. Sit and watch the trains go by or have a drink at multiple locations. A must for anyone visiting the area.

By TurboTraveler23 |

Recently went to a Friday night concert and although it was crowded, plenty of benches available and lots of room for your own chairs in a nicely landscaped setting.

By candicemmurray |

We absolutely love the Square! There's a lot to see and do there. You can just walk around, grab a bite or drink at one of the many restaurants, watch a show, or even grab some ice cream. The atmosphere is amazing and everyone is always friendly and welcoming.

By Paulette W |

People friendly area lovely spot to walk around , dine and shop. Music groups, art fairs often. Horse drawn carriage rides available. People go there to take special photos like a wedding groups for example..

By patsend |

Inside the square park is an activity area for kids. Around the square and down side streets are specialty shops with
items for all interests from antiques to olive oil. I went during an Arts Festival and brought home something for my garden.

Lots of good restaurants, places to visit, good music and great farmers market. Recommend just hanging out with friends and family.

By Pasoporaqui |

I love this Square so much that this is the second time I’ve visited here in six months! It’s beautiful with quaint shops and great food.

Small historic green space park in a revitalized area of old Marietta undergoing an urban renewal & development housing boom. The square retains its "Mayberry" in transition charm with a bandstand & fountain, pretty plantings & art. Only the looming government buildings recently built, encroach with a look that doesn't quite fit in. Lots of Mom & Pop stores remain, offering old growth shade tree sidewalk cafe seating to compliment the seating parkside. The eateries we've lunched at have been rather good food & nice people. Generous street & garage parking.

By Jef N |

This park is like going back in time. It's quaint and charming and often decorated in subtle ways to reflect the current season or holiday. It's also surrounded by shops, restaurants and plenty to do on foot.

By bgreenley |

We frequently visit the square since we moved here and seem to discover something new everytime. Whether it's a shop or a restaurant, there's something for everyone and it's unique. Don't leave off the side streets because there are so many places to see, you might not get to them all in one visit.

The Marietta Square has to be one of the nicest town squares in the state. It is beautifully shaded by huge oak trees and has a large fountain in the center. The grounds are nicely landscaped and there are regular events scheduled for the public. There is a farmers' market next to the square on weekends for about half the year. It is also convenient to great restaurants surrounding the square. It's a great place to spend a lazy weekend afternoon just people-watching.

By cynthia c |

Peaceful relaxing afternoon. Fun day to eat ice cream and sightsee. Stress free.Perfect place for a picnic and people watch. Plenty of shade trees.

By Clarice C |

There is always something fun to do in the Marietta Square. I'll take my son there to throw his football. We go for ice cream at sweet treats. I was just recently there for the chalkTober fest. It was very fun. I'm looking forward to trick-or-treating in the Marietta Square.

marietta square is so cute with little shops to walk around and go inside for some treasures. the square is kept so neat and clean.

By Charmain D |

We were in town for a tribute at the Strand and decided to stop over to listen to the entertainment that was taking place when we left the theater.

By SRCEdD |

This park in the middle of the square has been the backdrop for movies and fun spring days. When I visited they were filming a movie scene, so we were not able to visit, but my second trip was a quiet peacful stroll through the park by myself.

By Vanessa J |

It has a very friendly center for people to sit and visit by a fountain with lots of shade . Many restaurants and quaint shops. Especially like Rockets!!

By William D |

Beautiful square in downtown Marietta. Lots of shops and restaurants. Water fountain in the middle of the square, lots of trees and shade.

Many festivals and art shows, movie theater and theater for plays, etc.

Only issue from my perspective is limited parking.

By geisic20142018 |

We greatly enjoy the summer concerts, nice
family or couples outing.
Always great music and ambience.

By Photodude45 |

After lunch in Marietta we went walking into the square park. It was a nice place to rest under a large tree and see the locals. Very relaxing atmosphere with some very good restaurants and shops.

By jordaneshbaugh |

When we went it was decorated for halloween/fall. The fountain is a great area to take pictures. There is a little train for children to play on. Parking can be difficult.

By Douglas M |

My daughter loves to hang out with friends and family at Marrietta Square. It has a large wooded, well maintained central plaza where musicians are odten playing encircled by a myriad of shops and eateries. Parking is hard to find at peak hours however so bring good walking shoes.

By ChrisVandy |

We love to take the grandparents , set them on a park bench, then we all watch the 3 year old explore. He loves the red train to climb on, and walking on the brick wall around the fountain is always a highlight.

By jgwjava |

There really much to see or do here. Quite a few stores are empty and the few eateries were basic. There is a vintage store that had great stuff, from records to cameras.

By Tasha C |

Lots of shops and eateries. Visit during one of the festivals or parades. Taste of Marietta is always good!

By fredericks985 |

The Marietta Square is not just a pleasant place to visit and relax but here are the pluses: - Bands and vocals are a common occurrence for your free entertainment -Restaurants, ice cream, pastry, antique shops, numerous outlets for browsing and shopping. Theaters (2) are always entertaining you with live shows and musicals. They are reasonably priced and quite good for local productions. —Weddings are a big deal at the center gazebo and all other celebrations take place in a picturesque surroundings. Beautiful flower planting’s and paths encourage just walking around or sitting on the benches -Horse drawn carriages are available for your enjoyment and relaxation. -Bus tours and special tours are available like for a haunted Halloween tour—-Just Fun!!! -Decorated just beautiful at Christmas time.

By Brianna S |

It was way toooooo long. People started leaving about half way through. By the time the parade was over it was so hot we just left. We wanted to stay and visit the vendors but the parade was too long.

By caspersengirl |

Loved marietta Square, wonderful restaurants all the way around the whole Square and on a Saturday beautiful flowers the farmers market was amazing I would highly recommend a trip there !!

By Susan L |

Marietta has grown up over the 20 years I've lived here. It is hip, there are lots of cool restaurants and the event calendar is pretty full. The Saturday Farmers' Market is not to be missed. Local produce, breads, flowers and meats sold by people you want to have a conversation with. Bring your dog. The Strand Theater has a substantial line-up of musical and other offerings. Wednesday is open mike stand up. Don't leave before going to the terrace bar at the top of the building right around sunset. Have a glass of wine and listen to one of the amazing performers on the terrace with a view of Kennesaw Mountain in the background. At my last visit we listened to an elderly lady sing the Blues that gave everybody goose bumps. There are a myriad of restaurants that are worthy of a Michelin star. Because the competition is so fierce, everyone tries to out-do the other. Taqueria Tsunami is definitely a great destination but try Johnny McCracken's Celtic Firehouse Pub for that authentic bar drink before you eat.

By christopher1robin |

Has a great selection of restaurants and is a great place for parades and family functions. Shillings is a favorite.

By Actor21 |

The water fountain in the center is a landmark and the mature trees and park benches all over the park are fabulous. Lots of restaurants and bars all over.

By Rodger L |

Nice downtown around the square. Shops, restaurants, etc were nice to visit. The square was well landscaped and attractive. A nice respite from the highways and sprawl of Atlanta.

By nohomenomadder |

Love the restaurants and park. The square always has family friendly events going on and also has a local farmers market.

By JFR502S |

Took the Gran kids to the Square for holiday ice-skating and New Year’s eve fun. The square was safe and family friendly lots of quaint shops.

It was very cold so hot chocolate was in order! Then went to Eddie’s trick shop and the candy store. The little ones loved it

By Richard S |

Good eats, shopping , people watching and an old timey town square. Especially good if you enjoy antique shopping and now with the recent addition of Spring restaurant, five star dining.

By inflnc |

Pretty area!! Nicely kept with loads of restaurants and shopping!! Glover Park is lovely! Great to see how busy this whole area appears to be.

By houstontravelingfool |

A lovely quaint area to walk around in. Lots of interesting shops, restaurants and a little park with lovely trees. Enjoyed wandering, people watching and shopping. Definitely an enjoyable afternoon.

By jandjsmi |

We live only two miles from the Square and we thoroughly enjoy the many activities there. The Arts, Music, Crafts, Market, Tuesday night Bluegrass, Restaurants, Shops-especially Shop 'Til You Drop-don't miss it. We enjoy the Tsunami-Thai food, MPC, Paninni, and when we want a really elegant dinner for special occasions-or just a quiet night out to dinner, we go to Shillings. We enjoy having the Trail from River -Mountain there-a nice quiet walk for exercise or strolling. That is true of the historical areas nearby as well. I recommend "modest dress" for ANYWHERE!
