Great place to get photos at Andy's desk and in the jail cells. Emmit's Fix-It Shop and Wally's Service Station are next door as well as Howard's clerk's office. All free and a worthy stop before heading downtown to explore and then off to the Andy Griffith Museum

While in Mt Airy, we took the Squad Car tour and then visited the courthouse! It was fun to visit, brought back memories!

Cute and very small but loaded with memorabilia from the show. Good family fun or for singles. Just wholesome fun.

Right next to Wally's Service station with the police cruiser rides (which last roughly 30 minutes.) Was locked, but Wally's opened it up for us. Looks like what we remember - awesome! We didn't have time for the cruiser ride :(

When you step into the Mayberry Replica Courthouse it's like stepping onto the set of the Andy Griffitt show. His desk is there and you can set at it and pretend to take a call on the antique phone and have your picture made doing it! The cells are there. Otis' cell of course is there with a portrait of him on the wall. It is completely interactive and if you are an Andy Taylor and Barney Fife fan you will have a good time looking around. Take a step back in time and get yourself into a Mayberry state of mind! I guarantee you will leave a little more relaxed!

This is a great free attraction. A replica of Andy’s office and the jail cells - comp with key hanging where the prisoners could reach it. It was so authentic I expected to see Otis snoozing in his cell.

Andy's desk looks like you stepped into the show! You can sit at the desk and play with the old phone for photo ops! You can go inside the 2 jail cells for more photo ops! We really enjoyed it!

This is neat to visit and sit at the desk of the sheriff. The cells are neat to see. I recommend this place on your visit.

This place is a mock up of the courthouse on TAGS. Obviously it’s not to scale but just a cute little place to have souvenir pictures taken. It’s right next to Wally’s Garage where the Squad Car Tours start. I’d recommend to stop here. It’s free to enter and just has a donation box.

If you like the Andy Griffith Show, you have to stop here! A real life replica of the jail from the Mayberry Jail! You can choose your cell, lay on the cot, sit at the sherriff's desk or the visitor chair. Make sure you go out back and visit the Darling Shack too!

We visited this attraction while in town for Mayberry Days. It is a lot like you see on the TV show with the jail, desk with radio and other props. Next door are replicas of other places that were in the Andy Griffith show.

Stepping inside you can just see all the characters. A great place for picture taking and it is right next to the police car tours. Well worth stopping by

We made a quick stop during a road trip we were on, and thought the slight detour was worth it. We missed the tour and after talking to people who took it, we hope to come back again for that sometime. We couldn’t make time this visit. We needed no reservations for this quick visit though and enjoyed seeing Sheriff Taylor’s office, the vehicles outside and the outside of the Darlin’s cabin. It takes you back.

A great place to grab some photos sitting behind Sheriff Andy Tayor's desk. I was glad the visitors were allowed to go in the jail cells and sit behind the desk. It's free too!

Where else can you feel like you are really in The Andy Griffith Show! My boyfriend brought his guitar & we filmed him singing a Andy Griffith song! Lots of fun! We acted like we were really on the show! Also next door is Wally’s Filling Station with another replica...The Darling family truck! The two shops you should visit that are on the property & have some nice antiques!

Take a step inside and it's like being on the set. You can even sit in for Andy at his desk and be locked up in Otis's cell.

This is a very cute but also very small inside replica of the Mayberry (Andy Griffith show) Courthouse. Its free, which was very nice, and cute to play in on your own for a bit of make believe Mayberry fun. If you go to Mt. Airy, NC, be sure to go see this cute little replica place. Kids will love it, even if they don't know about the Andy Griffith Show which was before their time.

I have been here one time before, I loved it. My grandchildren watch Andy Griffeth show now so this was a must for them to see. They thought it was too cool. Got to be locked up for a picture and pretend to be deputy for a little bit. They felt like they were in the TV show. If your in Mt Airy take time to visit here. Oh and Wally's is right beside it and the Dalins cabin also.

What a fun place to visit!!! Nothing like sitting behind (a replica of) Sheriff Andy Taylor’s desk. You can almost feel the history and hear the laughter from the TV shows.

Just like the Court house on TV, found it very interesting an many memories returned with this walk and visiting the many places on Main St.

If you're a fan of TAGS, you gotta come to Mt Airy . Seeing and taking pics in the replica courthouse really was a hoot! No ticket-taker, no fee...just what you would expect in Mayberry, open the door and come on in. There's even a jar of Aunt Bee's pickles...though it didn't look like many people had tried them! Enjoy!

Had a lot of fun walking around quoting all my favorite lines from the show. Neat little building. If you go there, please be sure to stop at Wally's Filling station for a grand tour of Mt. Airy in a replica Mayberry squad car.

A quick little must-see if visiting Mt. Airy for its influence on Mayberry. You can sit at Andy's desk and talk on his phone or take a turn inside Otis' cell. They include little details like Aunt Bea's kerosene pickles and the keys hanging outside the jail cell. Great photo op for the avid Andy Griffith Show fans. Only takes a few minutes to see and take some pics. Outside has a little "walk of fame" for the characters off of The Andy Griffith Show, and next door is a door marked as Howard's office of the Clerk.

It's just like being there! This self-directed tour of the courthouse brought back so many happy memories of childhood, bunched together in front of the black-and-white TV watching "The Andy Griffith Show", while our parents warned us we were sitting so close, we would put our eyes out!! LOL This is a must-see in Mount Airy that offers many delightful photo opportunities.

Don’t miss this one on your visit. Great place to see. Was just like in the show. Glad we stopped in Mayberry on our way home.h

You’ve got to get a picture sitting at Andy’s desk, or inside the jail cell. Fun place to visit if you are a fan of the show...watch a few episodes before you go and enjoy yourself!

This is a great little place to visit. There is no regulation though so you might be the only people there or 10 people. It is at your own risk/pace. Would recommend the squad car tours next door the most!

When you enter you feel that you have walked into the Mayberry jailhouse and expect Andy and Barney to walk in at anytime. You can enter the cells, sit at Andy's desk and talk on the phone. If you are an Andy fan you will love it. It is free and open to the public, well worth a visit and all ages will enjoy the experience!

Only spent 10 minutes but kids had a blast. It is great that this exists. Really good shot of nostalgia without having to spend money. Gift shop is cool too.

We followed the tour car back here to find the garage and courthouse. It was great. We walked through all the places and enjoyed it alot. Give the courthouse a look, and take a picture in jail.

Not much to SEE but it's FREE and that counts when you are on a budget. It's also a good photo op as you can pose behind andy's desk or in Otis's cell for a family photo and keepsake of Mayberry. Another plus is it's right next door to Wally's fillin Station so after a Squad Car tour it is a must see.

I don't know if the other buildings besides the courthouse were supposed to be open or not but that's all we had access to other than the gas station. The courthouse is very close to the way it appeared on the show.

A nice little replica courthouse as it was back during the Andy Griffith show. Got the desk as you enter the room and over to the side of the desk is the communication desk with all the radios. In the back there are two jail cells which are nice to take a family picture. Nice to revisit that era. No charge to get it.

It was a nice replica of Sheriffs Office/Courthouse and Jail. There were two cells, one very small and the other was like a luxury cell. Our kids tried them out, but that was all fun and games, they knew they were not locked up for real. I acted as Justice Of The Peace and Sheriff.

We loved the photo opps that were available here as we sat in Andy's chair, peered from the jail, and even pretended to eat Aunt Bee's pickles! Was very authentic to the TV set where Andy Griffith was filmed. Highly recommend it fo fans!

This is outside the Main Street attractions. Worth the time. Drive right out of town can’t miss it. You will also see Wally’s gas station very nice place for photos. And Emmett’s fix it shop and the Darlings old truck. Well worth the time. This is also where the police cars are parked. You can even ride in one. I think it was 35 dollars, that was for a group. They run you down through town with the siren going off. This area was really a nice spot to stop at.

Nice place to visit. No charge for the attraction although you can take a tour in one of the vintage squad cars which is located on the property. ($35 based on occupancy up to five people. Able to share the ride if you wish to double up with someone) I would recommend it. Very interesting and you get to ride in Sheriff Taylor's cruiser.

The closest you will get to Mayberry! What a treat to visit Andy Griffith’s childhood town if Mt. Airy and step right into the television! The courthouse allows you hands on fun, even being able to step into Otis’ jail cell! Hung out in jail for a bit, got some shopping done at Wally's Service Station, peeked through Floyd's Barber Shop, followed Barney Fife's Squad Car through town and drove by Andy Griffith's childhood home! What a great place to stop!

If you visit Mt. Airy, you have to at least stop by the replica courthouse. It was amazing to see how it looked so much like it did on TV. Make sure you take photos in the Otis' jail cell and behind the sheriff's desk!

Really enjoyed the replica of the Mayberry Courthouse. Great job! I came with my son and my best friend and her twins on a short vacation before her twins started school. We had a wonderful time in Mt. Airy

The replica of Andy’s courthouse gave a lot of attention to detail including The fancy lamp and table in the cell where Otis slept. The candlestick phone and gavel on Andy’s desk and old typewriter all lent an air to the way it was when he sat at the desk. Don’t forget to take a few photos in the cell. It’s a fun stop i would never miss!

Another great experience in Mayberry. The Mayberry courthouse and jail props were fun. You can go to jail or sit on Andy's judge chair at the courthouse.

SO enjoyed visiting the courthouse.....exactly the same as on the show. Brought back many memories, and a smile to our faces. Thankful for the entire town that has remained a tribute to Andy Griffith.

WAY TOO MUCH FUN to enter "Mayberry" and let the "good feelings" of Andy Griffith's show immerse your MIND! What a fun, wonderful step back into history with the "good old times"...simpler times...sweet times. Just too much fun. Everybody needs to go ONCE to this darling "memory". The sheriff's car was buzzing about town, and there was actually an antique car show in town last weekend, which made it all the more nostalgic. So much fun.

It is a fun place to visit tucked away off Main Street. After a fire that was across the street be careful now when parking as one of the entrances to the parking lot was closed and bad weather conditions have not allowed things to be fixed. But if they are be are sure to go by and also check out some of the shops across the street.

You can sit in the chair yourself. Have some fun and check out the things in the courthouse and the jail.

I visited with my mother and 9 year old daughter. We are all big fans of the Andy Griffith Show. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to "Mayberry." Admittedly, we did not get to visit all of the attractions that we would have liked to enjoy, but I will say that our visit to the Mayberry Replica Courthouse and the adjacent Wally's Service Station was the highlight of our day. Inside the replica courthouse, we were able to sit at Sheriff Andy's desk and use his phone to "Ring up Sarah." We typed on his typewriter and used his gavel. We were also able to let ourselves in and out of Otis's jail cell. Everything looked so very much like the TV show that we know and love, and it was thrilling to see it in real life. Admission is free, too!

We stopped for about ten minutes to take some silly photos inside the cells and behind Andy's desk. It was nothing spectacular, but it was what it was meant to be. It was a quick stop that will be fun to remember.
While we were there the tour police cars were parked outside which were cool to see.

It as close as you can get to the real thing. Only this missing is Otis in his private cell. You can also catch a ride in a Sheriff's car for a tour of Mt. Airy. We highly recommend it.

It’s just a tiny little place and you can’t even go in the jail cells at all for a picture. You can sit at the desk and take a picture. But it’s free. So it is what it is

The Mayberry courthouse will appeal to fans even though it is a replica. You can imagine Otis Campbell staggering in, Opie dropping by after school and Barney Fife searching his pockets for his bullet!

The Replica Courthouse is worth a visit if in Downtown Mt. Airy. Admission is free and you can see the jail cells as well as Andy's desk. There are old vehicles outside and more to see outback. There is a gift shop next door that does the Squad Car Tours.

You can go there and sit at the desk and get in the Jail original jail cell. Not crowded and you get your own private time to enjoy the moment.

This is a must stop for Andy Griffith fans. There are older vehicles on site, a replica jail and courthouse. Windows advertise different locations such as Foley's and Emmitt's fix it shop. Wally's filling station with police car tours is next door.

Enjoyed seeing the police cars, the painted guitars throughout town, Floyd's barbershop, and the statues of Andy and Opie outside the courthouse. Just memories!

Alright, this is a bit cheesy. It is a replica of the courthouse from the show and not overly accurate but what fun! You could almost see Otis in his cell. I was able to get my picture sitting at the desk and one of my wife in the cell. As a fan I would not miss this!

This is a fun little mock-up of the Mayberry Courthouse/Jail. There are replica items on Sheriff Taylor's desk, plus the radio and other items at Barney's side desk. You can touch it all, take pictures, etc. You can even go into Otis' cell and 'sleep it off' on his bunk! It's small, quick & free. There's also several vehicles outside, and Wally's Service Station is right next door. I grabbed an RC Cola & a Moon Pie from the shop inside! You can get a 30-minute tour in a Mayberry patrol car, also, or sit on the porch of the Darlin's shack. Do it, it's fun!

This was a fun stop to add to our Mayberry experience. What a great photo opp with the courthouse, jail cell, and Andy's desk. Even my toddler had a good time exploring.

The courthouse is set up just like the show. It was awesome walking in and seeing everything like you see on the show. The Andy Griffith Show has always been my all time favorite so was excited to see his hometown.

Waste of Time. Doesn't even look like the one from the show. Just a bunch of cheesy stop and some mannequins. Not even any cool merchandise to buy. The whole town is filled with Cheese, but this cheese isn't even worth cutting.

We enjoyed making photos behind Andy's desk and in Otis' jail cell. Our 13 year old Grandson loved it, he has watched most of the episodes of Andy Griffith.

Recommend taking the Mayberry police car tour. The owners have done excellent job of recreating the props from the tv show. Very Friendly people!

This was a fun stop. Self tour and free will admission with several cool gift shops. You walk and look at your own pace. Took numerous photos of the jail, me in it. and behind Andy's sheriff's desk. Outside was Wally's Service Station, very nice gift shop, the Darlings' old truck, Goober's tow truck and others. Didn't take the police car tour as it was booked into the afternoon and I had a schedule to maintain.

We enjoyed visiting Mt. Airy visiting family. We really enjoyed the Courthouse. We had fun taking pictures in the jail cell. Otis wasn’t there to reminisce with. Andy is my third cousin. My great grandmother and his mom were sisters. It was a special visit for me.

I grew up watching the Andy Griffith Show re-runs, clean wholesome fun from a simple time. If you are in Mt. Airy and you like the show, this is a must see.

The jail looks authentic and makes you feel like you are incarcerated. Took several pics behind bars and presiding as judge. Doesn't cost anything to stop and look. Very interesting and a must see if you are an Andy Griffith fan.

This is a 5 to 10 minute stop, but worth the stop to get the full Mayberry treatment. Stop in the gift shops.

Our visit to the replica courthouse gave us a feeling that we were right in the middle of a Mayberry episode. You can "lock" yourself in Otis' jail cell, sit in Barney's chair, and put your feet up on Andy's desk. A must see in Mount Airy.

I love this place had so much fun felt like everybody had known you forever the town was friendly and beautiful and just like time has slowed down and that felt great. GO TO WALKERS DRUG TO EAT WONDERFUL PEOPLE !

This was a really fun photo spot honoring the Mayberry lore and television show. While not a 100% accurate replica, this police station is complete with Sherif Andy’s desk, holding cells, railed walls, and radio but it was fun for my wife to lock me up in the cell typically occupied by the town drunk.

This is right next door to the service station and the starting place for the squad car tours.

Make sure you make it to the back of the lot to visit the darling house and the high school.

If you're a fan of the show, you'll want to make the brief stop to check this out. It's not much to see though. Drop in while waiting for your squad car tour (it's right next to Wally's).

We absolutely loved visiting the Mt Airy area with all the Andy Griffith memories! It was a step back on memory lane. We wish we had been able to take the time to take the tour around the area in an old squad car! The show was playing in the shops we went in to and everyone was friendly and helpful about where to go see things. I loved the nail and courthouse where Otis stayed! Will go back there when we have more time to check out the museum

As a fan of the Andy Griffith show it was fun to pretend to be incarcerated in one of the two shelves and have a family member sit behind the desk and pretend to be sheriff Andy Taylor.

Looks just like the courthouse set on The Andy Griffith Show, just much smaller and scaled down. You can "spend time in jail." LOL. You can go inside one of the two jail cells for a great photo. There is a framed sketch of Otis in one of them! LOL. Or sit at Andy's desk or in Barney's chair for a great photo. Even the old gas furnace is in the corner. Outside are vintage cars from that era and just around the corner is Wally's Fillin' Station where you can pay for a guided, chauffeured tour of the town in a squad car like Mayberry's! Ours was a 1962 Ford Galaxy 500! It was AWESOME! I did not want to get out of that car even though it had no air-conditioning. It was the last week of July, hot as fire, no air, but had the time of my life sweating bullets in that car! Windows down, the guide turned on the siren, and away we went. The cost was $35 PER CAR, not per person. So if you have 2 or 4 people, it's still $35 plus the expected tip. It was worth it to me just to get to ride in the squad car!

This was the best stop. We posed for pictures at the sheriff's desk and Otis's jail cell. Fun for everyone.

This is a month at to stop in when you visit Mayberry, it looks just like the office on the Andy Griffith show. I liked the cell that is set up for Otis.

More nostalgia and a great representation of the set piece from the beloved television show. The caretaker was full of information and had the courthouse looking great, he even locked up my wife in Ottis's cell!

This is a short couple block walk from everything else and well worth it. The courthouse is setup very close to the way it was in the show with all the little things including jail cells, Andy's desk and such. It is located beside the "fill'in" station which also is great.

Loved getting pictures of each other in the Mayberry Jail. Most everything was just like you see on the TV program.

The replica courthouse for Mayberry is fun to stop in especially for photos of the jail, Andy’s desk, and memorabilia. It is next door to Wally’s Service Station- where you can see the tow truck of Gomer or Goober Pyle, the Darlin truck, and Darlin Farm. Also the Patrol Car Tour is a great way to see Mt. Airy and learn about Andy Griffith growing up and Mayberry. .

The trip to Mt. Airy was more for my wife's grandfather who was visiting from Maine, but my girls enjoyed the sites as well. They loved playing pretend in the courthouse, being behind bars. everything in the "courthouse" was pretty authentic looking. Small, but fun little stop anyone visiting the area should stop at.

You can get a personal and up close to the sheriff's office, jail included. Free and you can take pictures.

There isn't a lot to look at but its free and does have a decent replica of the Mayberry jail. If you're in the area it's a must.

Going here made me feel like I was on the Andy Griffith show. It was so fun to sit at Andy's desk and check out Otis's jail cell!

It was very small but just like the TV show. The jail cells were open for picture opportunities and you could sit at the desk with the Justice of the Peace sign or flip it and be the Sherriff. There was a fan and telephone from that time and a jar of Aunt Bea's pickles were on display.

What a cute and fun place! I don't imagine its as large as the jail and court house on the series but it was full of fun things to see and remember from the tv show. Don't miss Otis' photo in the cell! There is no charge to visit this site and be sure to take some pictures of the jail.

This was a neat little place. It is a replica of the courthouse/jail from the Andy Griffith show. They allow you to go through and even enter the jail cell. The whole Mt Airy was a neat experience but this was my favorite part. :)

This area is actually a few blocks from Downtown Main Street. But we still felt like we were in Mayberry! There's a replica of the courthouse complete with jail cells, Andy's desk, and telephone, Emmitt's Fix-it Shop, Wally's Service Station, the Darlins cabin, and Mayberry Union High. There is also a small gift shop.

This is also where you can rent the squad car for a guided driving tour of Downtown and the surrounding area. The cost, I believe, is $35 for about 35 minutes. They were actually booked up for several hours so we chose to tour everything on our own. If you want the guided squad car tour, I suggest making your reservations early in the morning.

This is a must-see attraction especially if you are a fan of The Andy Griffith Show. Very nostalgic!

This place was a lot of fun. You get to go inside the cells & take pictures, sit behind the desk & see what it was like to be Andy. Also right next store is Wally's service station. Great family fun

We stopped here first on a Monday--the signed said CLOSED with no other information. What a big disappointment since we drove over 500 miles to get here!

The recreation was like being on the set of the show! Being able to sit at Andy's Desk and see Otis' cell was neat!

Go see it. It is certainly not to scale but is set up like the Andy Griffith Show Jail was. It's free and Wally's service station next door with the sheriff cars made for convenient add on to this attraction.

We are staying at the Mayberry Campground in Mt. Airy, NC for a month. We went and visited most of what Mt. Airy had to offer. This was so fun. It had 2 jail cells that you could get in. I could not upload a picture of him in the jail cell. The site said it was not allowed, but I added some other ones. It is just a sweet little place to visit. Right next to it is Wally's gas station. Joe had an RC and sat in the rocker and just talked with the owner and patrons. You can also get the tour on the town in the Andy Griffith police car. This a must do for anyone touring.

The whole Wally's area was neat, including the replica courthouse/jail. It was like walking back in time. There is also a replica of the town square, the Darling's cabin and truck, Goober's truck, and several squad cars. They offer tours of the town for $40 a car load - up to five people. Great way to spend the day.

There's nothing like being in Mayberry and sitting in Andys seat! Or Barney's, or Otis'. Fun, fun, fun!!

Realistic depiction of what was on the show. You can imagine Barney giving the orders and Andy just shaking his head. It isn't on the main street of town so you do have to drive to get there.

Our first time to visit the replica of the Mayberry Courthouse in Mount Airy. It was neat to be there and looks like the TV set from the show. It was well worth the time to visit.

It’s free to look and it’s a nice replica. They have a donation box so give them a couple bucks. Takes a few minutes and a good photo opportunity

We were delighted to feel like we were stepping into Sheriff Taylor's office. The props like the phone, typewriter, cells were so familiar. Everyone in our group and all the folks who came in got big smiles on their faces when they entered. It's a moment back in time. If you loved the show, you cannot miss this piece just a short walk down the street from the center of town.

Really liked all the pics you can take with you in them. We were on an Anniversary trip and hadn't had this much fun since Hollywood Wax museum in Pigeon Forge.

If you’ve ever watched The Andy Griffith Show, you will be immediately put back to those times of ‘being with’ Andy and Barney! This is a fun stop!!!!

Was not happy that we couldn’t get in because they closed 1/2 hour early!! We got there at 4:30 and it was our last stop of the day cause it closed at 5pm. But it was locked. So was Wally’s service station. Not happy about that. Maybe cause it was snowing but it was sticking and other people came up behind us only to be disappointed also.

Open your eyes and you will think you are about to see Andy and Barney or Opie or Otis or well you get the idea. It looks just like the show. Worth seeing for sure.

We visited this while in town for Mayberry Days. It's a lot like what was on the TV show. It even had the rocker Andy sat in to read Otis a story.

Great free attraction for fans of the Andy Griffith show. This is more my mom’s era so she found it very cool to see replicas from the show. It only took about 5 minutes to explore but was a neat attraction to see while passing through the town.

The Shoppes on Main, this is where you find the Mayberry Courthouse Replica, Emmitts Fix it shop Foley's grocery, and the office of H Sprague town clerk. AND oh boy right next door is Wally's service station where Goober was employed. If you are a fan of the Andy Griffith Show Mt Airy needs to be on your bucket list. The even have rides through town in the old black and white police car.

Love this place, so fun sitting at Andy's desk, pretending to use the phone or getting behind bars pretending to be Otis. You can also take a tour in the squad car (not sure of the price).

The Mayberry Replica Courthouse is a short walk from downtown Mt. Airy. It is a quick stop and free to look through. There is the Darlin' Farmhouse in the back and next door is Wally's Service Station.

See the Sheriff's desk and the jail cells. A must for the Andy Griffith fan and it is free. Right next door to the garage.

We love to visit the Mayberry jail. You can see the old typewriter and phone along with Otis's jail room. An old brick from Ernest T and many more items from the show. Lots of fun!

It was so fun to visit the replicas of the places in the Andy Griffith show. The courthouse is part of a group of places, all next to each other. You can take a guided tour of Mt Airy in a replica of the Andy's police car.

We visited here and really had a good time! Kids would even have a great time as well!! Easy to find and fairly good parking.

Ya gotta go inside here - and it's FREE! Inside you'd think you walked onto the set for the TV show. Everything is there. Otis' cell, the desk that is for both the Sheriff and the Justice of the Peace. You'll expect Barney to come from around the corner any minute.

If you watched Andy of Mayberry, you'll recall some memorable scenes filmed at the jailhouse. Mount Airy has recreated the exact set where Andy had to lay down the law, especially in regard to the town drunk - Otis. The judge's gavel, the black candlestick telephone, the manual typewriter, wooden pencil holder, even the mint green picket fence partitioning Andy's office from the lobby area are all exactly the way Andy preferred. Visitors can sit in Andy's chair, bang the gavel, make a phone call ... nothing is off limits.

We walked the six blocks from historic downtown Mount Airy through a pretty residential neighborhood to get to the courthouse/jail. But if you'd rather not walk, you can flag down one of Sheriff Andy's patrol cars cruising town and get a ride to Wally's Service Station next door, where you can pay $40 per carload and take a guided patrol car tour of important historic sites.

The courthouse is situated in an old timey shopping center which includes the mayor's office, Emmett's Fixxit Shop, Fred's Radio and TV Repair, and the Mayberry Hotel. The old Darlin farm is out back. There is no admission fee to tour any of the attractions at this location.

Stop by to see the courthouse and Wally's filling station. A number of vehicles like Wally's tow truck, the sheriff's cars and others. Lots of little things to bring back memories.

The courthouse is next to Wally’s Service Station. The courthouse realistically depicts the sheriffs office and jail from the Andy Griffith Show. Fun to visit and take pictures. The police car tour at Wally’s is fun and informative.

This really made you feel you were in the courthouse. We took some fun pictures with my husband on the phone at the desk, and I was in jail. The names on the sidewalk outside the courthouse are interesting, but no one knew why there wasn't one for Gomer.

The Mayberry experience isn’t complete without stopping here to take a few pics behind Andy’s desk, Barney’s chair, and of course behind the bars! This was a free exhibit (donation box inside the door) and was a neat place to pop into for a brief stop.

Visiting the Old Mayberry Courthouse was a must as a friend of mine and I visited Mount Airy and the town. Just had to see where "Otis" spent most of his time. The courthouse looked the same as it was on TV and Andy's office area the same as well. These replicas take you back in time. So if you want to step back a few years, put this on your list.

The courthouse replica was a nice "free" trip down memory lane. They did a great job replicating Otis's jail cell and Andy and Barney's desk area. We got some great pictures of the kids working at the desk and relaxing in the jail cells as Otis often did. Nice gift shop attached to the courthouse as well as one inside Wally's garage next door. The squad car tours are located in Wally's and are a must.

If u ever get a chance to visit Mayberry North Carolina the replica of the court house of the Andy Griffin Show is a good place to start. Had a fun day as a family taking photos in the courthouse a must place to visit.

You can sit at Sheriff Taylor’s desk, talk to Sarah the operator on that old old phone, pound the gavel and say “Now lookie here everyone now just settle down!” You can sit at Barneys little desk next to that file cabinet he was always straightening up. Last but not least you can lay down in Otis’s jail cell with his portrait hanging on the wall in there. Perfect picture opportunities!!

There is old radio equipment setup like a police dispatch, as well as an old phone and typewriter in the desk area recreating where Andy and Barney created many memories for viewers.

I had seen pictures of this courthouse online and we couldn’t wait to see it in person. It’s the exact replica of the courthouse from the Andy Griffith Show. There is no charge for admission, but they certainly take donations. You can sit behind the sheriff’s desk or even pretend you’re Otis Campbell and check out the inside of the jail cell. This is a must see while in town.

This courthouse is located amidst a slight recreation of some of the Mayberry buildings. Its a quick walk in and walk out. Its definitely "underwhelming" after having just gone to the Andy Griffith museum and seen some of the real things!.

Right out of the TV show! As an Andy fan this was a cool place to visit. It looked almost just like what I've seen on TV for decades. Only thing missing was Otis was not drubk in the jail cell!

This was a fun little stop. When we entered the court house we found "Otis" and "Earnest T" sitting at the sheriffs desk. Otis' cell was complete with a rocking chair, T.V., and aself portrait hanging above his bed. On our way out, we were shocked to see none other than a jar of Aunt Bee's Famous Kerosene Cucumbers.
It was nice to visit the jail, but it's no fun when the Ole Iron Doors clank shut on ya.

So much fun! You can go inside, sit behind the desk that replicates the one in Andy Griffith, go into the jail cell that also is a replica of the Andy Griffith show and take pics.

We were passing thru after dinnet and went by. It was after hours and everything was closed. The owner of thegift shop was passing by and saw the scouts looking around and was kind enough to open up for us. Everyone enjoyed the place.

Was free to go in. Fun to imagine you were in the real Mayberry. Gave it 4/5 stars because the jail cells were locked and we wanted a photo opp. Really neat to visit any take pics.

Spent time in Mt. Airy with my brother in law and sister. They love the show and had a wonderful time. This was a fun and cute place to visit and was free. Would definitely recommend.

While not a 100% replica of the original set, it's close enough to give you the vibe of the original setting. You can almost hear Barney singing "Nita...Juanita". Next door to Wally's filling station which serves as a pretty well stocked gift shop. Rides in the squad car start and end there. It's worth a stop.

Got to play Sheriff, Justice of the Peace, spend the day in Otis's cell, grab cell keys from the wall, lay in Otis's bunk, and even play on Andy's radio that was playing recordings of the shows radio transmission. So neat to do this after watching every episode probably 30 times each. Definitely a must do at Wallys and the price cant be any better...FREE

The courthouse replica is a neat stop for fans of the TV show. The details of this courthouse takes you right into the TV show set! You can sit at the desk like Andy or be "locked" into a cell like Otis. It was just a great stop and a must see if you are visiting. It is located next to Wally's Service Station where there are restrooms and a nice gift shop. Don't forget to walk around and see everything there is to see.

This was very cute. No one is there but you and you can take all the pictures you want. We got a lot of smiles when showing pictures of us locked in the jail and sitting behind the desk.

On our way to Myrtle Beach, we visited the courthouse. It was so neat, just like the Andy Griffith Show. This entire town is adorable. The kids loved it.

We had the time of our lives being locked up like Otis and playing sheriff. It was great but not open after 4 p.m. which was disappointing for tourists.

Honestly, there is not a lot to see and you could just breeze right through it, but don't. The replica courthouse has the look and feel of a he old show and there is no admission. They do have a donation box which we used. It's a fun little place.
The gift shop is located between the courthouse and Wally's service station. They have a few vehicles around to give you the feel of an old time gas station. The building appears to be an old service station and also has a nice little gift shop inside.
They also offer tours with old Ford Galaxy patrol cars just adding to the ambiance.
One other neat little building is an old shack representing the Darlins, fans know what hat I mean. They even have a replica still on the side of it too.

If you love The Andy Griffith Show then you want to make a stop here. It was so much fun getting to visit the inside of the Courthouse and pose for pictures. You can even take a tour of the town in a squad car! We didn't because the line was too long so my advice...don't go on the weekend!

We stopped by the Courthouse Replica while touring Downtown Mt. Airy. This is a must see for any Andy Griffith Show fan! Most all of the props are in place and the replica is nearly identical. You are left alone to take as many photos as you want. I would take advantage of the props being available to use for pictures as well. This is free to view and a few other replicas are on the same parking lot to view as well. Such a cute little piece of nostalgic memory!

I had visited the Andy Griffith Museum two years prior, without realizing that there were so many more amazing things to see and do. This year I was determined to enjoy the Squad Car Tour of Mt. Airy. We were fortunate enough to have Melvin as our driver and tour guide. I could not imagine a better "Mayberry Host" for this experience. He had an incredible amount of fascinating knowledge of the area, and of the show, and the car, and answered any and all questions we could throw at him. The Tour is incredibly affordable at only $35 per car load, whether one person, or in our case, FOUR people! We saw and heard things we could never have guessed about. And at the end of the tour, he invited us to visit the Courthouse interior replica for absolutely NO CHARGE! We posed inside Otis' cell, and behind Andy's desk and in Barney's Chair, and looked at all the incredible detail included. FREE is an amazing deal for the wonderful experience here, both inside and outside the building! Anyone of any age will enjoy this experience!

My husband was so excited to go on this trip. He loved everything about the replica courthouse. The gentleman who was at the courthouse was extremely friendly and informative. If you're a fan of The Andy Griffith Show, you need to make this a stop to see.

This is Andy's office and jail in the show. My wife and I were the only people inside and she took my picture in Otis's jail cell (with the keys hanging just outside like in the show). If you were a fan of the show, this is a must see.

This was my favorite place.Fixed up to look very much like Andys office. Even has the two cells. Had to step in and have my picture taken in Otis cell.

Next to the place where you can hire a black and white to take you around "Mayberry," is the courthouse. They tried hard replicating this space to look like the TV jail but more authenticity is needed. Good photo op place there. Two jail cells are in there and you can go inside, take pictures or have someone take pictures of you "in jail."

Stopped here on my trip to Mt Airy' Mayberry" North Carolina.Inside this building is a replica courthouse from the show and contains Andy's desk, the two jail cells { you can be locked up if you would like}and some memorabilia from the show. Look like the place Andy & Barney worked. We took pictures us in Jail and sitting at the desk too. Outside was the Darlin's truck, Emmitt truck too. You can ride in an old police car at Wally's gas station near courthouse.

The Jail is in the same area, so you can get your picture taken behind bars.. Brings back memories of the Show.

Pretty neat visit. Not the actual courthouse, but a good replica. Small, but a lot of fun to visit. Can touch everything, so it's very cool to experience.

The B and B was so nice. We enjoyed having our happy hour every afternoon on the front porch watching police car go by taking people on tour of mt. Airy.

The courthouse is located next to Wally's Service Station. Had two grandsons with us, they loved it! Also took a patrol car tour! A must!

If you are a fan of the Andy Griffith show this is a must see! It takes you back in time and you feel you are on the actual set of the show, it is open so you can set at the desk. It’s on the outskirts of this small town but easy to find.

The replica courthouse is a nice place to stop and visit... take pictures of you and family behind the desk and in the jail cells like Otis. The courthouse is unmanned and is only one large room with the office area and the jail cells.. also a small bick on the floor inscribed with Earnest T. Bass on it. Just a great place to grab a few pictures

No visit is complete to Mt. Airy without a stop at the Mayberry Replica Courthouse. Admission is free and you can stay as long as you'd like and reminisce about the Andy Griffith Show. There are two jail cells and then you can sit at Andy's desk. Definately make a stop here, you will be glad you did.

Just a replica of the courthouse from the show. Literally just like the show. A must do but only takes 5 minutes. A nice little tourist attraction but still worth it.

We went in the courthouse while we were waiting on our tour of the city in a Mayberry Squad Car. Good replica of the courthouse.

If you are in Mount Airy it is worth a stroll south on Main Street to see the replica courthouse and jail cells. It was one of the stops recommended to us at the Mount Airy visitor center. There is no admission fee, which is nice. You can just stroll in and enjoy the set. There is a replica of Andy's desk and two jail cells. You can walk in one of the cells for photos. A short visit but kind of fun.

Enjoyed the photo opps in this area. Gift Shop staff was really nice. Recommend stopping if you enjoyed the show and want some good photos.

What a great replica of the Mayberry Courthouse! And, it’s free. We loved it. A must see if you visit Mt Airy!

We were in Mount Airy doing the "Tourist Thing" and this was one of the places we stopped at. We took lots of selfies in front of Andy's desk and in the jail cells! They even had a jar of pickles! If you are a fan of the Andy Griffith show, this needs to be on your list of places to visit.

This is a must see for any fan of the Andy Griffith show. Its just like walking into the show and sitting down at Andy's desk. You can also go in the cells. Very "hands on" which was nice. Like a lot of things in Mt. Airy, it is free.

If you an Andy Griffith or a Mayberry fan from the old TV days, you should definitely visit Mt Airy North Carolina. Although the original TV show was not filmed here, Mt Airy is Andy's REAL home town and it looks just like Mayberry and all the people we met were just so nice. They made us feel right at home. It it definitely worth a visit....A hidden gem!

Another must see if your in Mount Airy.. Lots of replica Andy Griffith show items in the court house. Call ahead sometimes its closed.

Awesome! As a life long Andy Griffith Show fan, this was a fun (and free!) stop for some cute photo ops. Loved sitting at Andy’s desk and pretending to call Juanita! Wally’s service station next door is cute too!

This was a cute place to visit, be sure to try the door because it’s hard to tell if it’s open or not. It’s right next to the gas station. The kids had fun sitting at the chair desk and playing in the jail cells.

When in Mayberry you really need to stop at the old courthouse! So many great memories of watching the Andy Griffith Show in visiting so many of these places!!! GO VISIT!!

Fun old time-period vehicles. Sit at Sheriff Taylor's desk and lock yourself into one of the two jail cells. Visit the store next door and arrange to take a ride in the old police car. A great place to remember a simpler time and a sweeter place.

If you are a fan of the show you'll definitely want to see this and take a few photos inside or outside with Wally's tiq truck or the Darlin's old truck.

The replica courthouse was a fun place to visit. It felt like we walked on to the set of the Andy Griffith show. There was Andy's desk with the old telephone, a jar of Aunt Bea's "kerosene cucumbers" and Otis' jail cell complete with his portrait on the wall. We took lots of pictures, put my dad in "jail" for a photo, and took a picture of a brick signed by none other than Ernest T. Bass! This is a fun place for a quick stop. For us it was too far away from downtown to walk but there is parking available there.

Not worth seeing unless you want some selfies. Yup. I was kinda disappointed with the whole Mayberry thing.

Stopped for a visit after the Squad Car tour. Looks very close to the TV setting. Worth stopping by.

Be sure to visit the Courthouse! It is a great replica of the courthouse from the television show! Even the cells look authentic!

This exhibit is located beside the place you can take a ride in a replica squad car. It is a fun place to remember the feel of the Mayberry jail and take a few pictures. Also is a replica desk area for more pictures. Well worth a 5 minute visit as you await your turn to take a ride around Mount Airy.

Got to go inside with many photo opportunities. It has the desk and the jail cells. It’s free to look around in here also. It does have a tip jar. Enjoyed it.

The Mayberry Replica Courthouse was a must during my visit. Growing up with Mayberry and still watching it while I am still growing up is still enjoyable. The Courthouse is very neat and in good condition. There was an actual wedding to be taking place soon after I arrived. This location is a very popular spot and was very busy. Along with the Courthouse is Wally's Garage (next door) along with several of the old vehicles named in the original show period. If you are coming to Mount Airy, you are more than likely a fan of Mayberry and will enjoy so much of the area. This is one spot not to be missed.
