Cloud Gate Is Amazing!

By statesmen23 |

So much to see in Millenium Park, Cloud Gate, "The Bean" was just one part of the park. It was very memorable!

Great park, cloudgate area under construction right now

By Cheryl J |

Lots to see here. Cloud gate (the bean) is under construction and its surrounded by fencing with black out on it so you can only see it by peaking between the fencing or from further away.

Just Go See It

By Paul Cochran |

I believe that it's a must-see when you come to Chicago. It was cool to see many people trying to get that right pic with the bean.

A must when visiting Chicago!

By Jemlnlx |

Lovely park with some great views of the city right on Michigan Avenue.

Highlights include Millennium Monument, Crown Fountain and Cloud Gate/The Bean. Lots of photo ops!

Safe into the early evening hours with lots of tourists present.

Easy walk (via walkway over South Columbus Drive) to Maggie Daley park

Parking garage underground throughout the park which is your best bet when driving. Some street parking/metered spaces in the surrounding streets but those spots can be difficult to get.

The Bean

By JulianneExplores |

Several visits to Chicago and I keep promising to go see The Bean at Millennium park. Yet, every time I think it's too cold to walk there. This time I decided to detour a few blocks over to see how far it was... and I was near it every visit! It is amazing art to experience, yes experience, even on a cold day. I wish I had gone sooner and I'll return in different seasons.

Definitely a must-go!

That's a huge bean...

By Jake C |

Wondering around Chicago with my wife this is one of the places that we stopped to take pictures. This sculpture is huge and there are people everywhere.

Great park to walk around

By desertrat23 |

So much to see and a great walking area...and it's free! The beautiful Bean and Awesome fountain were great. Walking from the SHEDD aquarium to the Navy Pier.

Disappointed.

By Patrick L |

Fenced off for construction. No real spot to take a picture with the bean. Disappointed but things have to be done sometime.

Nice spot to stop

By Willie P |

Made a quick stop. Very nice. Good atmosphere, seemed clean, and there were families who seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Nice art, but a bit crowded

By Maimon C |

It was a huge tourist spot. Other than that, it was quite interesting to look at the art and see reflections of the buildings around it.

Beautiful park

By Roley Totti |

The park is beautiful, filled with vibrant flowers and impressive sculptures. The iconic Bean sculpture was a highlight—stepping inside for photos was unique. The magical atmosphere, with petals gently falling from the trees, makes it a must-visit spot for an enchanting experience!

Lovely park. Must stroll thru and see it all

By absteul |

Lots to do and see in millennium park. The bean, the amphitheater, the gardens, the benches under a shady tree!
Park in the north millennium garage and you’ll be across the street from it.

Visit to the Bean

By Angie C |

Currently the Bean has a barricade around it. No one knew how long or what is being done in the park. There is an ice skating rink near by if you are looking for something to do.

Nice

By pattyH16 |

A large open air concert hall.
TheBean.
The fountain columns with the surprise.
Pleasant.

Millennium Park

By MSue |

Nice park with a very cool amphitheater! What an amazing venue to see a show! The park itself is nice. Iceskating was not open when we visited, however there is an ice rink directly in front of "the bean." Fun place to walk around.

See the bean and then go ...

By Bobbysgirl01 |

The Cloud Gate is definitely worth seeing and you have to take a photo. Apart from that, it's pretty much open space where you can sit and look at the surrounding buildings. We didn't feel the need to hang around.

Waterfront Fun for Children of All Ages!!

By MKTBE |

Millennium Park is a must for anyone visiting the City of Chicago!! The waterfront park is filled with attractions and activities for all ages, including the iconic statue 'The Bean', a bandshell for live entertainment, a unique children's play area, skating rink, beautiful gardens, interactive fountains for hot summer fun, rock climbing, mini-golf, and plenty of relaxing green space! Millennium Park is the vibrant heart of downtown Chicago!

We loved the Bean!

By Keri W |

The Bean is fun! Millennium Park has a lot to see and do, and the Bean is a unique part of that. It is entertaining to see the skyscrapers reflected in the surface!

Chicago’s Best

By Belladonna |

We took a train from Michigan to Chicago- it was actually a scenic train ride!
Millenial Park is a must see, if only for the tourist attraction but nothing else. We booked a hop on hop off bus tour around Chicago to get an idea of the places we wanted to see. I would suggest an architectural history boat ride as well- it’s an amazing detailed guide of the historical landscape of Chicago. Then at the end of the tour climb up the stairs to Lou Malnotti’s pizza; don’t forget to try Chicago’s best loved hot dogs as well.

The world's largest rooftop garden

By Taylor B |

I'm old enough to remember when the vast space now occupied by Millennium Park, one of Chicago's most popular attractions, was just a rusting railroad yard. Today, it is a public park and prominent civic center that covers 24.5 acres of Northwest Grant Park on the Lake Michigan shoreline near two of the city's other popular attractions, Navy Pier and the Art Institute of Chicago. Located at 201 East Randolph Street, bordered by North Michigan Avenue to the west and DuSable Lake Shore Drive to the east, Millennium Park opened in 2004. Often described as "the world's largest rooftop garden," it sits atop parking garages and rail lines and the commuter rail Millennium Station and is connected by BP Pedestrian Bridge and Nichols Bridgeway to other parts of Grant Park. Open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., it is home to the iconic Cloud Gate statue (aka The Bean), Jay Pritzker Pavilion for musical concerts, Lurie Gardens, Crown Fountain with its black granite reflecting pool and two 50-foot-tall glass brick towers, Maggie Daley Park, McCormick Tribune Plaza and Ice Rink, Frank Gehry's one-of-a-kind band shell that soars 120 feet in the air, the Great Lawn for picnics, a 40-foot-tall climbing wall an an 18-hold mini-golf course. Something for everybody, for kids and adults. And there are dining options, including Napolita for authentic brick-oven pizza, Double Clutch Brewing Company, the city's largest beer garden, and Casa Burrita, which serves Mexican fare and frozen margaritas.

Must visit iconic Cloud Gate

By Chris J |

Millennium Park is a vibrant urban oasis with striking architecture and lush green spaces. The park's highlights include the iconic Cloud Gate sculpture and beautiful gardens, making it a must visit for both locals and tourists.

I'M REALLY JEALOUS

By PRAIRA |

A must-have park in the center of Chicago, very close to the river, without seeing or feeling it. The parking area is quite large, extremely well-groomed and clean, you can find this meticulous, orderly and cleanliness in every corner of Chicago. In the area, there is a huge open-air concert area, mutual walls with constantly flowing and sometimes gushing images where children can have fun, and a watery playground, a very special work of art, the cloud gate or bean, seating areas, food and drink, a monument and a large fountain at the end of the park. swimming pool. It seems impossible to put it into words, you are fascinated and amazed. Sit down and look around, I swear I'm jealous, it's like you're living in a completely different universe.
Sit for a long time and feel it in your bones, you will be amazed.

The Bean!

By Explorer |

The ‘Bean’ is very cool, kids will enjoy very much. Nicely maintained park with no entrance fee. There were roadside parking with walking distance. Beautiful anytime of the day.

Visually appealing

By Pedro R |

Lots of architecture and sights to see near by

Millennium Park in itself has many spots to sit and chill even seen some people working/studying on the benches throughout the park. The “Giant Bean” is in this area but its not a lets stay here all day kinda spot.

****Bring your cellphones and cameras charged if you haven’t been there yet and don’t forget good walking/running shoes and water!! ****

Yes, you can run throughout the park on the pathways or just do some stretching and take in the sights and enjoy.

There are concession stands / food trucks through the Park and many many restaurants around in walking distance there is a spot for putt putt golf and rock climbing walls during my stay they were both closed.

One of the nicest parks I visited

By Gidons51 |

An extraordinary beautiful park , great attractions , sculptures, etc, unbelievable gardening and flowers , take time to explore and enjoy .

A great treasure in the midst of a big city.

By Carl T |

Always a good spot to visit. The bean needed a cleaning, big time. They were setting up for Nascar street race, so a little busy in that area, but a nice respite. Enjoyed walking through the park each morning when it was not busy.

My Kind of Town

By Armen Pandola |

Chicago is a great city. Lots of things to do and see and easy to get around. Planning is a key since there is so much to do. I went with a teenager and he had a great time doing all the things you might imagine.
Go to the Griffen and take the River tour by boat. Lots of great places to eat too.

Mostly hidden by construction fence

By Christy R |

The bean was surrounded by a tall construction fence, hard to see and hard to take pictures. We didn’t realize this before we went. I would still go to see it but the fence didn’t look like it was coming down anytime soon…

great visit right by art institute

By kawh |

fabulous park right by the art institute! sculpture is great. there was live music when we were there, which created a free fun atmosphere.

Beautiful park and area to walk

By joaniemaria |

We went on a gorgeous weekday. We walked around the park, near the bean, the lake, the outdoor amphitheater, parked in the underground parking. It is a lovely area. We felt completely safe. There was a police presence. There were security checkpoints set up at entrances to the park. Lots of people. The walking paths are very nice. You can walk for quite a long distance along the lake all the way to Navy Pier. We were going on an architectural boat tour, so ended up at the Chicago River to board there near Michigan Avenue.

Overrated and Crowded: Millennium Park is a one-time visit for me

By iblameromeo |

Millennium Park, in my opinion, is overrated. It’s often packed with crowds, which is expected given its status as a popular Chicago attraction. The Bean, the park's main highlight, is just "okay" to me—nothing particularly special aside from the story behind it. I've been twice, and honestly, it's a place I would only visit again if a friend invited me. To be fair, there are plenty of other things to see in downtown Chicago, many of which are close to the park and offer more unique experiences. For a first-time visit, it's worth seeing, but I wouldn't say it's a must-repeat destination.

A place to meet

By Miguel Gómez |

My visit to millennium park was good, I went with no expectations and what I found was really good. Unfortunately, the cloud gate was still closed when I went so I didn’t have the opportunity to see it from a close distance. Otherwise, there are more things to see in millennium park, like the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, that is this big, beautiful and nice outdoor auditorium where they make some music events, when I went there was a blues music event and the vibe was good. There is also the Crown Fountain, that is a fountain with screens that has faces of people, and sometimes they spit water, very funny. Millennium park is the place in Chicago where the people can meet and spend a good time.

Art in the heart…

By Burmac |

The most spectacular heart of Chicago.. Art in the core of this beautiful place!! Adjacent to the busy downtown of the city this place is a wonderful breath of fresh air.. besides be a spectacle to view and admire

Great park, crowded

By Jenna P |

Super cute park! More crowded than I thought for a cold December day, and every time I looked there were a ton of people at the "bean". It was fun though!

Beautiful and has everything around it!!

By Ariane Ianicelli |

It's a very busy region, there's everything there!! Park is big and very beautiful. The museum entrance, the bean, the metal flower.. everything is there...

The Millennium Experience

By Jda A |

Great place with a lot of outside events vendors and stores in the surrounding area. Great place to just sit and people watch and eat.

Extremely crowded on weekends

By Noraatc |

I was not impressed by the Millennium Park in general but seeing Chicago reflections in the mirror surface of “The Cloud Gate” (The Bean”) installation by Amish Kapoor and Jay Pritzker Pavilion designed by incomparable Frank Gehry made it worth spending time there. The crowds over the weekend and lines to pass security were not something I would be willing to endure for a stroll in the park.

Unperishable! You have to visit!

By Mauricio S |

Tourist spot indispensable!
You can't come to Chicago without visiting.
The place is always full.
And the sculpture is always full of fingers and marks.
Around there are several places of food.

Millennium!!!

By Josue C |

Millennium Park is great place to take pictures and selfies with Chicago famous skyline and Cloud Gate. Located near the lakeside, it's a good place to meet up or orient yourself. I enjoyed my walk through the park, a small getaway from the streets. On my visit I felt safe, the park wasn't too overcrowded, and there was a good police presence, there is a bit of homelessness. I will visit the park again on my next visit, and recommend anyone visiting Chicago to at least once, if it's safe enough.

Well done outdoor space

By ChanceMan00 |

This is a good option when you get tired of steel and concrete. It's a beautifully designed park with a variety of sites. We stumbled upon a jazz concert one night. The photo here of the Cloud Gate is the biggest draw, although my wife kept saying she wanted to see The Bean and I couldn't find that on any map. The bean is a better descriptor.

Not far from here was a row of food trucks and it reminded me that Chicago isn't a vendor city like New York with hot dogs and pretzels on every block. I didn't see any on the entire trip.

Park

By Meagan H |

Its was a nice park. It was cool seeing the bean and the face fountains. The patient weren't running due to the temperature. It was nice seeing the park at night with the decorations.

Very nice!

By Loutre |

Park and esplanade very pleasant, with the famous cloud gate so original and perfectly suited in this urban environment!

This is a Very Nice Park

By Jeffrey S |

First of all this is a very nice park . Second the art 🖼️ thing in the park was closed . Third there is place were there are concerts . Lastly, there is a place where you get a Chicago style hot 🥵 dog .

Nice park, but no dogs allowed

By V R |

Free park with fun and interactive art. Only complaint is that dogs aren’t allowed. Seems strange when the rest of the city is so dog friendly.

Great big city getaway

By Markus Klaus |

Wonderful place, so much to see and do. Beautiful parks and monuments. A wonderful getaway from the big city stress. A place you definitely want to come back to over and over

Windy City Staple

By Carrie H |

Beautiful outdoor art sculpture that is great to visit. It is a staple of our visits to the Windy City!

Gorgeous.

By Lique31 |

Very nice, but a lot of people. The park is worth a visit. Lots of beautiful photos to take.

Ideal Chicago Tourist List

By Luke Wahl |

The essential first time Chicago trip stop. There is no Central Park or extensive green but the kids will not be bored with the giant glass bean, a wonder of skill, or with the pair of brick column water features occasionally winking at each other with projected faces. Parking is typically painful. I highly recommend a discount parking app to avoid price going. Circling Buckingham Fountain, finding more skyline vistas to snap, and wondering across Lake Shore Drive to see Navy Pier top off the basic family friendly and tourist options.

Lots of public art

By DaveNKent |

Not a huge park but packs a lot in. The Cloud Gate, Coffee Bean, is the most famous but there's plenty more to enjoy.

Bean closed for construction

By Paula S |

I was so sad to discover that the bean was fenced off for repair of the sidewalk underneath.
Otherwise, the park is beautiful and well maintained.

A Peaceful Escape in the City – Millennium Park

By Jason M |

Millennium Park is a beautiful urban space in the heart of Chicago, perfect for relaxing, sightseeing, or taking photos. The park is best known for “The Bean” (officially Cloud Gate), a stunning mirrored sculpture that reflects the city skyline and draws visitors year-round.

The park is clean, well-maintained, and often hosts concerts, art installations, and seasonal events. It’s a great spot for a quick walk, a picnic, or just enjoying the atmosphere of downtown Chicago.

Dangerous Times In Chicago for Trips

By Fred T |

Unfortunately Chicago and the parks downtown aren't safe. Saturday 4/15/23
there were groups of teens and others smashing car windows and beating up people. The Police had to protect the locals and tourists and move them out to safety zones. Chicago has become a mess .
"Travel at your own risk". Sad to say last time for us traveling to ILL-INOIS...

Got to see "The Bean"!!

By YWC3238 |

Very crowded and a place to see in Chicago. Very beautiful at night with Christmas lights and Christmas. There's also an ice skating ring at the Millennium Park at this time of the year. Recommend to go check the Millennium Park when visiting Chicago!!

Must visit

By GOKU72 |

Walking around Millenium Park and taking pictures with the giant bean is a must-see if you're going to Chicago.
You can also visit its sources.

The Bean

By tscheblo |

We specifically visited this park for The Bean. It was crowded on a Saturday afternoon so just be prepared for other people to be in your photos. The surface of the bean isn’t clean as you will see in my photos. There are restrooms here and a souvenir/snack shop. It’s a must visit iconic tourist stop for sure though.

Nice Stroll Amidst the Heat

By doctorfoxtrot |

We went there a few days before the Cloud Gate or more popularly known as the Bean was reopened to the public . Shucks ! Part of our itinerary and we were on our way to Orlando during that time. Anyway we had bits of photos . There is the pavilion where an orchestral group was practicing and of course a few minutes walk by is the Maggie Park. Nearby is also the Art Institute. Nice stroll although the humidity can be overbearing .

As always beautiful

By GABINO M |

This park is not only beautiful, we visited it in christmas season and there were people skating, christmas trees and a lot of casual food for spending the evening.

Stunning views

By Sarah C |

Where better to be on a sunny day? The views are stunning, the park well maintained, there are places to stop and eat or drink and, with the lake on one side and the skyscrapers on the other, Millennium Park epitomises Chicago in a nutshell

An indelible architectural experience at Chicago!

By mahesh k |

The windy city of Chicago held my undivided appreciative attention for its sheer architectural splendour and beautiful landscapes. The millennium park is one spot a first time visitor cannot miss. It has the landmark Chicago Bean (cloud gate) which attracts locals and visitors alike. It is a spot for clicking memorable pics with near and dear ones amidst impressive skyscrapers of Chicago.
There is an amphitheater which is used to house live performances and has a huge capacity of seating lined by beautifully manicured lawns and having a meandering overhead bridge/ramp that takes you to the lakeshore drive.
A pleasant evening spent with family at the millennium park is an indelible experience!!!

Nice place to relax and explore

By Kevin Parsakia |

Millenium Park was a nice walk from downtown chicago and it was lots of fun. Initially, I was there to see the Bean but didn't realize how much you do can do out there and all the many landmarks that nobody really appreciates. Fun spot to visit and a great way to stretch you legs. I didn't see alot of parking so keep that in mind if you choose to visit.

Cool spot

By Ashley R |

Cool spot to check out while in Chicago, able to take lots of cool pictures. There are lots of spots to sit and relax, eat and enjoy the park

Bean is King!

By A9935USsharonk |

Very popular attraction-I would go off peak for better photos. Very friendly environment but watch for guys who make a dishonest living offering to take photos for you.

Great spot to visit while in Chicago

By Zena |

We found this urban oasis to be the perfect blend of art, nature, and romance. We marveled at the iconic Cloud Gate, playfully capturing our reflections. The lush Lurie Garden offered a serene escape, while the Crown Fountain delighted us with its whimsical charm. Under the stars at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, we felt the city's heartbeat. Millennium Park truly ignited our love for Chicago and each other.

Nice walk

By Sary3101 |

It's my fourth time in Chicago and it's still a stop or migratory, walk around and enjoy the windy day

A park unlike anything I have seen before.

By Shaikh H |

It was a fun place to walk and it was an epic experience being at the Bean site. I also loved the Spicy Mango Lemonade Slushie at one the dronk places at Millennium Park! Get this drink and try it!

Museums by day Blues at night

By camollkoy |

Perfect weather. Chicago Blues Festival . Great walking/ biking paths. Shopping, museums and green spaces to explore. Hilton on South Michigan perfect location for exploring by taxi or public transportation.

Lovely well-kept park

By stevebintley |

One of the best kept parks I’ve ever wandered through, with plenty of seating and different areas to admire. The cleanliness is impeccable and the scale means it doesn’t feel too crowded. A wonderful space in the centre of the city.

Millennium Park: Urban Bliss in Chicago

By Louie F |

Millennium Park is like a downtown haven in Chicago. The cool Cloud Gate sculpture and fun Crown Fountain make it stand out. You've got green gardens to chill in and open spaces for a casual escape. Whether it's a laid-back stroll or catching a live show at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, the park is a must-see mix of city vibes and chill spots.

See the Bean!

By Steve K |

See the bean! The bean is really as good as they say. I will say the magic happens once you get under it. Super enjoyable park. Really nice to be able to rent the bicycles and ride around the park. It’s a must when visiting Chicago.

Must see!!!

By luckydog172 |

A fun place visiting in fall. A bit crowded, but it made it more fun because the reflection of all people with different color outfits showing in the bean structure was cool. Colorful tree leaves falling and fall wind would float them in the air. Nice place !

Discover modern art in Millenium Park

By GabrielaSeevetal |

2004 Opening 10 ha - from the dreary industrial area with railway tracks to a beautiful park with lots of art and skyline with skyscrapers.

In the north of the park stands a metal installation “The Bean” weighing 100 tons -170 items were welded together and polished on site by the same company that built “The Ledge” in the Willis Tower. “The Bean” has a size of 20 m length x 10 m height x 14 m width.

The “Jay Pritzker Open-Air Pavilion” by Frank O. Gehry in Millenium Park is a concert pavilion with a 40 m high, silver shiny and multi-folded roof structure – whow.

Also worth seeing is the 190 m long “Nichols Bridgeway” curved in shiny steel and aluminum – created by ital. Architect Renzo Piano.

Between Lurie Garden and S. Michigan Avenue stands a public sculpture by Catalan artist Jaume Plensa, consisting of two 15 m high LED towers and a mirror pool.

From Grant Park to Oak Street Beach and the Loop area, Chicago is a great place to walk to all the attractions.

Photo Op!

By Reeni01 |

It is crowded and a tourist thing, but that just makes it even more fun! Pick a spot get those cool reflecting photos, then move aside for someone else to get a spot. It is easily a 10min photo op but nothing much else.

The Heart of Chicago: Millennium Park

By Larry Simson |

Millennium Park was a highlight of my Chicago trip—lively, clean, and picture-perfect with “The Bean” and the skyline. Full of energy, art, and charm, it truly captures the city’s spirit. A must-visit!

An oasis of calm if you take the opportunity

By A Midlife Adventure |

We really enjoyed our self guided walk of this and Grant Park.
There are the key highlights The Cloud Gate, Buckingham Fountain and the Bean but also plenty of places to chill out and hopefully enjoy the sunshine whilst taking a breath away from the main tourist sites.
For what is basically an inner city park Chicago has done itself proud.

Beautiful

By hullarxim |

Beautiful and huge park with lots to see.we spent some hours here trying to see everything. Its one of the top parks. Its a must.

If you don't bump into it, you weren't in Chicago.

By Eva |

It's a must see and if you don't stumble upon it while walking around, then you weren't outside. A nice place to gather together, walk around, sight see and look at art.

new place for us

By Sandra H |

Lovely day for a walk through the park. Nice gardening and use of flowers, no dogs allowed which we appreciated.

Fun park tbh.

By lilbjtbh |

Fun park to visit and walk around tbh. Security was there but they weee kind of weak. Half they’d search and half they’d say you can just go thru lol. So it didn’t feel super safe but it’s just a park. But was cool and I liked the faces on the pillars lol

The Bean!

By tinacR5644AQ |

We enjoyed Millennium Park and the infamous bean. Pretty fountain there as well. Flowers there and throughout the city are gorgeous. Went to the restrooms there and everything is very well maintained.

Cute area to walk through

By Von1287 |

There was really cool things hanging from trees, an amphitheater and the famous fountain that changes every minute or so, definitely worth a walk through, especially if you want to walk off some of that deep dish!

Shiny Beans, Views, and Good Vibes !!

By Duraiya Kothawala |

You have to check out Millennium Park when you're in Chicago. The Bean is even more impressive up close – it's super shiny, loads of fun, and perfect for taking great pictures. The views across the city and the lake are just incredible. I enjoyed wandering through the gardens and just relaxing on the grass. The whole place has a cool vibe: it feels relaxed but also buzzing, with music playing and lots of people around. Honestly, The Bean, the stunning views, and that awesome atmosphere – Millennium Park is worth a visit. Oh, and don't forget the fountain, that's a must-see too!

So much fun!

By Dreams of Traveling The World |

Such a cool site to see! Great memories made here. Lollapallozza 2024 was going on in the park as well. Definitely worth the visit. There’s little stores ( but bring snacks and water $$$) under the bean, crown fountain/water fall/spray if you need to cool off, and if you show up during lollapallozza music and fun!

Interesting stop

By David H |

Amazing piece of interactive art. Worth seeing if you have the time. We were there on a cold rainy day and didn’t want to linger. Millinium Park would be better on a sonny day later in the spring and summer. Still worth a visit in any case.

One of the most visited city parks in America

By Brad 🇭🇰 |

Millennium Park is part of series of parks and important Green Lung in downtown Chicago. Only opened in 2004, it has already become one of the most visited city parks in America with around 25 million annual visitors. Opening hours are 6am to 11pm daily.

The Park is near 25 acre and has several interesting monuments including the unique Crown Fountain and landmark Cloud Gate (The Bean) reflective sculpture. It is also the home of the contemporary Jay Pritzker Pavilion and shares the really neat BP Possession Bridge with the Maggie Daley Park directly to the east. There is a grassy areas, gardens, promenade and paved treelined walkways to enjoy while at Millennium Park as well.

It is a great city park and should be considered a must-see attraction for visitors to Chicago.

Must visit place in Chicago

By Kaushal R |

Millennium Park is a world leader of art and architecture in a public, outdoor, urban setting. Invoking a sense of calm, refuge, and reflection, each visitor can indulge in a unique artistic experience with the opportunity to admire the Chicago skyline as a subtle backdrop

The Bean

By Josh K |

Free spot in the city to take photos. Check the bean and other fun park areas in Chicago. Venders are around the area for cheap eats.

Saw it. I’m done. Won’t go again.

By Laurie C |

Okay, I know everyone talks about “the bean”, but I don’t understand the hype. It is a giant metal sculpture. Yes, it reflects the city skyline. Yes, you see your reflection. Yes, the inside has a weird shape to it. But I just don’t understand why it was so crowded and why everyone kept taking so many pictures. It was like they were in awe. It just wasn’t that impressive to me at all. But I went so I could say that I saw “the bean” when I was in Chicago. I saw it, everyone. I won’t go see it again.

Millennium Park and the bean, must see if visit Chicago

By silvercode |

Don't miss this icon in Chicago. The park is very good for everything you want from the outdoor strolling in Chicago, it is right by the Art Institute and Magnificent Mile (Michigan Ave.) A must see if you are in Chicago.
Chicago is one of the best city in the world for its architect buildings. River/lake, are a good combine boat tour while you are in Chicago.

Should have asked someone

By WeRtheJacksons |

The first trip to Chicago and the bean was fenced off for construction, and the fountains were turned off. Upsetting, but what can you do, but say you've been there.

Always a pleaser

By Pierre B |

Great little stroll on a Sunday before the Art Institute. Very pleasant and beautiful views. Cloud gate of course...

Been there, done that

By Passenger685435 |

Glad to be able to say we saw it since we were just a few blocks away, but glad we didn't go out of the way to visit. There are a ton of things to do, so may be worth a repeat visit if we wanted to go roller blading or play mini golf.

Very cool spot!

By Thepik |

It’s just but if you wait a bit you can get just the right photo. The location is home of some icon Chicago photos, including the famous bean.

It’s with checking out without a doubt.

Easy to access, if your in Chicago, this art piece is a good photo stop. Lot's of different angles are available. If it's cold outside it overlooks a public ice skating rink.

THE BEAN!

By Chris P |

The bean was cool to see - great pictures and you can play where's waldo while looking at it and sending pics to your family! The ice skating in the park was awesome as well in the winter. Just a nice relaxing place to visit!

The park

By 2TravelingBuddies |

The park was nicely decorated for the holidays. We went early so there weren't many people. We saw the face fountains, the water wasn't on because of the temperature.

Urban Oasis in Chicago

Millennium Park is a must-visit! From the iconic "Bean" to serene gardens, it's a peaceful escape in the heart of the city. Perfect for a stroll or enjoying skyline views.

Chicago's No. 1 tourist attraction

By Taylor B |

I remember when the current site of Millennium Park was land occupied by sparse parkland, the Illinois Central Railroad yards and parking lots. Since 2004, it has covered 24.5 acres of the northwest part of Grant Park, known as the "front lawn" of downtown Chicago. Bounded by Michigan Avenue to the west, Randolph Street to the north, Columbus Drive to the east and East Monroe Drive to the south, the $475 million complex known as Millennium Park sits atop its own 2,218-space parking garage, the commuter rail Millennium Station and rail lines and is considered the world's largest rooftop garden. A showcase for postmodern architecture, the park has emerged as the No. 1 tourist attraction in Chicago and the Midwest and one of the top 10 tourist attractions in the United States with 25 million annual visitors. The park features a variety of public art, outdoor spaces and venues, including the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, Cloud Gate or "The Bean," Crown Theater and Lurie Garden. It is connected to other parts of Grant Park by the BP Pedestrian Bridge and the Nichols Bridgeway. The centerpiece of Millennium Park is the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, a bandshell designed by Frank Gehry with 4,000 fixed seats plus lawn seating for 7,000. It is home to the Grant Park Symphony Orchestra and Chorus and the Grant Park Music Festival, the nation's only remaining free, outdoor, municipally supported classical music series. But the most popular single attraction in the park is Cloud Gate, dubbed "The Bean" by Chicagoans because of its legume-like shape. It is a $23 million, three-story reflective steel sculpture, the first public artwork in the United States by world-renowned artist Anish Kapoor. Composed of 163 stainless steel plates welded together, its highly polished exterior has no visible seams. It is 33 feet high by 66 feet long by 42 feet wide and weighs 110 tons. Other attractions in the park are the McCormick Tribune Ice Skating Rink,Joan W. and Irving B. Harris Theater for Music & Dance, Wrigley Square, McDonald's Cycle Center, Evelon Pavilion, Boeing Galleries, Grainger Plaza and Chase Promenade.

Alright.

Very beautiful but I wouldn’t recommend bringing children because they may find it boring due to there not being much to do for them.

“A Must-Visit Urban Oasis in Chicago!”

By Jddme26 |

Millennium Park is an incredible destination that perfectly captures the charm and vibrancy of Chicago! From the iconic Cloud Gate (The Bean) to the beautiful gardens and stunning architecture, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The park is impeccably maintained and offers plenty of spots to relax, take photos, or simply take in the views of the city skyline. During our visit, we loved the interactive Crown Fountain and the open spaces perfect for a stroll or a picnic. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, Millennium Park is a must-visit landmark that truly showcases the best of Chicago!

Another Attraction not to be missed

By Melabaffi |

In itself it is not a spectacular Attraction but the context makes it so. First of all, this large silver bean is located inside a park that in turn is inside an area where you would never tire of being. The wonderful buildings reflect on the Attraction making it fascinating, you look at it and you find yourself together with the hundreds of people like you trying to take the best shot. Nearby there is a wonderful very old hotel that allows you to visit the lobby and also some building that belonged to some gangsters of the 20s.

Interesting exhibits, amusing ,but no surprise it is crowded

By Joe M |

The fountains and the Bean are worth viewing and experiencing, with many other people. Worth viewing when in Chicago.

WORTH A VISIT

By Tom G |

My family was shocked Milennium park has so much acres. I was very impressed by the setup of the park, the amount of activities, it's cleanliness, We spent half of the day at the park.

So artsy!

By miscalane |

We visited this park several times during our stay and found new things each time. The Bean is spectacular both to see and learn about, the water feature is great fun, and several other art installments were on display and beautiful.

There were security tents to pass through with bag checks when we were there with long lines during peak hours.

A must see place in Chicago

By Vonni M |

Crowded with tourists, yet incredibly enjoyable—it feels just like a movie set. This was an unforgettable experience.
A must see!

Landmarks in Chicago

By Kimitaka Sho |

The park is located close to the Art Institute of Chicago, between Michigan Avenue and Lake Michigan, and is a landmark in Chicago, attracting many tourists. It is a pleasant park in summer, but it is also quite quaint in snowy winter. Cloud Gate in the park is a famous photo spot.

Excellent!!!

By Foodlife |

Love the Millennium Park excellent attraction is a must if you visit Chicago, they also have great restaurants in the area, you won’t be disappointed.

Early morning break from the hustle and bustle of the city.

By DeanneB969 |

The center piece of this park is “the bean”, however it is a nice spot to sit and rest. The park is well laid out with seating and shade. We went early in the day (around 8 am) and were able to take photos of the bean while not fighting crowds to get a photo.
If I had known how quiet it is at that time we would have grabbed breakfast to go and eaten in the park. Take your time to walk the area there are several areas of the park near by that have art installations and fountains.

Excellent park

Millennium park really is beautiful and it has something for everyone. Lots of fountains and monuments and it’s a great location.

Wonderful park in Chicago with plenty to see and do. Really busy on a hot sunny day but to be expected. We saw the Jay Pritzker Pavillion, The Bean, and Millennium Monument. Lots of green spaces to enjoy and relax in. A nice park to visit when in Chicago.

Beautiful park

It is big and very beautiful, especially in autumn with all the colorful trees. You can go with someone or alone, it doesn't matter.

Very Beautiful

By Mags boy S |

Cold day out but still great seeing this area. Looks like a giant bean. It’s very reflective and a great place for pictures if ur in the city. Would highly recommend and return if given opportunity. God bless.

List processed. Worth it!

By Peter B |

A must in Chikago. Spectator magnet and not just the bean.
The Crown Fountain is ingenious, so you should schedule time and watch the insatallation and the many people playing in the water
Finally, Buckingham Fountain.

Beautiful Park

By AlexanderD |

We really enjoyed our stop here. It contains gorgeous gardens right alongside the heart of Chicago’s skyline. Absolutely worth a stop.

Probably one of the most-reviewed items on TripAdvisor

By AndrewFromMadison |

There is not much to say - just look at the photos (if you have a day or two to peruse them al!). Artwork installations are something else.

Nice

By Hans |

The park is located in the city center and takes about an hour to have a look around. The shining “Bean” is nice but very crowded. We took a look at the theater which has a spectacular shape and appearance. Then we visited the gardens just behind the theater. Beautiful flowers in bloom. Nice place to visit.

Park in the city

By DLP |

Beautiful park right on Michigan Ave. Nice clean park with green grass and fountains. The famous bean sculpture is located within the park and there is an outdoor amphitheater that offers free concerts this summer. Lovely park to spend some time in.

By Bobbie W |

A beautiful walk down Michigan Avenue will bring you to the Bean. If you haven’t seen it, you should. Very popular is standing under it and seeing yourself in the reflection. Take a picture of yourself, everyone does!

Great people watching, lots of activity!

By Andria A |

Really enjoyed the park! Loved the bean and the skating rink. It was so fascinating to see so many people there from every walk of life.

First-time Chicago must see

By Stacey |

Just a fun place to wander on a beautiful day. The Cloudgate is a crowd pleaser, the amphitheater is such a great design, and wandering the paths was a great way to see the Chicago skyline for the first time.

Very crowded and you can't really get a photo alone but it was a must do in Chicago.
A lot of nice restaurants as well!

The BEAN! Aka Cloud Gate

By Eryck & Jason |

My husband and I stumbled upon the ‘Bean’ by mistake but definitely wanted to see it while visiting. We were not disappointed at all. The view of the cloud gate is mesmerizing. Seeing the Chicago city skyline was so unique and peaceful. Families were wondering up and taking photos however the space was large enough for everyone to enjoy. I would visit again and again, it was truly special.

Very neat! Don’t forget to also check out the other nearby parks too.

By TravelerGabe |

The park is very cool. I would probably consider it one of the best parks in a USA big city. Definitely worth also checking out all the other parks that are connected to this park as they have lots of fun activities, plus it’s less crowded.

Fun place

By PatiO80 |

Lovely park. Nice view and fountains and of course it had the Bean. Quite a crowd around the bean so be aware when you want to take photos.

Popular Green Space and Home of The Bean but Offering Much More

By TravelingSoccerLoon |

Millennium Park is a beautiful green space in downtown Chicago most known as the location of "The Bean" or more correctly named Cloud Gate. However, there is much more to the park including the Crown Fountain, Millennium Monument, the Lurie Botanical Garden and the Jay Pritzker Pavillion which is an amphitheater offering open air concerts throughout the summer months, many of them free to the public. It is also just a great place to wander, sit on a bench, people watch or view the stunning Chicago skyline. However, the park is also very busy with visitors as it seems that everyone who visits Chicago has to see The Bean. Visit early in the day to avoid the crowds. The park opens at 6am if you really want to get a special photo.

Always a must see!

By Jenee B |

Always a great photo opportunity! Police around just in case. Nothing scary. See the water fountain walls spitting water, the stage, cloud gate. Check online as an event may be going on. Going in the winter? Go ice skating right in front of Cloud Gate!

A must see

By HappyAbby |

If you’re visiting Chicago, a stop at The Bean is a must. Take your picture in the reflection and walk around the park. There is a virtual Geocache here too!

A must for being in Chicago.

By Matt O |

Consider your timing, this site gets VERY busy with tourists in the middle of the day. It's hard to get a bad photo of it though.

A magnificent venue on the Magnificent Mile.

By Famsol67 |

I attended two great concerts (free) amongst our multiple visits to Millennium Park and the larger Grant Park in which Millennium Park of located.

Millennium Park has "The Bean" which is a "must see" for visitors to the truly lovely city that is Chicago.

Café is good. Apparently in the winter the area in front of the café becomes an ice rink.

This Place Definitely Exists

By Micah B |

This place definitely exists. There's no doubt about that. There are sidewalks and trees and a big shiny mirror. You're welcome.

City Chill Spot

By Roxy C |

"The Bean" is kinda cool - it's this shiny sculpture that reflects the skyline in a fun way. The park has green spots, cool fountains, and art stuff outside. It's just a chill place to hang out in the middle of the city. Check it out if you're around!

Worth seeing

By EH6695 |

you have to see when you are in Chicago. a photo alone you can certainly take max in the morning hours or in winter. Here is life

Nice park in the Loop

By ELO |

The Milleniumpark is located in the Loop. We went There by bus and combined this attraction with a walk on the Magnificant Mile.

Wonderful park

By TJtravelerX |

if you like parks, then this is one of the best in the country. Several attractions and nice pathways. You can exercise and bike in safe zones.

Lovely place

By Clint |

Great for a few hours to relax or have a nice stroll. fascinating sculpture; neat clean and tidy park.

Awful arrangements

By PipPaul W |

I accept renovations need to be done occasionally but the Chicago authorities have really messed up with this one
Why on earth have they covered the site fencing with opaque black netting!!??
Surely leaving it see-through would be more appropriate for the thousands of visitors bringing money into your city
BAD ARRANGEMENTS CHICAGO!!!

A Perfect Park in Chicago.

By edkist |

Visited the park in early May of 2023 on a Thursday morning. The weather was perfect which made it all the easier to appreciate the sights. The fountains were not operational when we visited, but this was maybe the only thing that could possibly have made the experience more memorable. Take your time and bring a friend or two.

Nice park with a unique BEAN as attraction

By mandiv27 |

Great park, nice and clean, the bean is definitely very unique with a nice water fountain around and beautiful surroundings with the Main Street just a few minutes walk from the park. Although very crowded but that also means it’s a popular sight seeing place. Lot of seating around and well connected by all means of transport.

Love This Park

By C A |

This is an expansive park with lots of great art, fun anytime of the year. In the winter they have an ice skating rink.

Must visit place in Chicago

By SSharad15 |

This is a happening place. Lots of events happen around here. Chicago bean is a must visit place. Avoid day time in summers, it’s extremely hot. Parking is 29$ for first 3 hours.

Interesting art

Lots of different ways to view this huge piece of art.

We were lucky that the crows was light and the sun was shining.

Interesting to see yourself in the reflection from a number of angles.

The Giant Bean Park

Beautiful. Very organized and clean. Prefer to visit in the morning, which is more empty. It's easier to take pictures.

Must Visit!

Beautiful! I visited during a recent trip to Chicago and was impressed. Park is in a great location near downtown and has a few must-see sights.

Bean or cloud gate

By ilker s |

This is a building located in a park where every tourist who comes to Chicago stops by and takes photos. We can say that it is an iconic statue. You can take photos here and have a nice time in the park. Its other name is Cloud gate. A building compatible with this modern city

what a remarkable 90 mins wonder , we throughly enjoyed the park , weather is not too cold , unfortunately the Cloud Gate aka "The Bean " is under construction till next spring , but still so much to seen and enjoy the phenomenal Chicago Skyline very clean safe environment to roaming about , it is flavor place for locals and tourist for year round , first time in the city , must visit , you need less 90 mins to relax and enjoy this park , no wonder they call this city " The Jewel of the Midwest "

Reflecting the Lovebirds

By Wandering Lovebirds |

We recently visited Millennium Park and The Bean in Chicago, and it was a fantastic experience despite the heat. The Bean reflected our excitement, providing amazing photo opportunities. The park itself offered a much-needed break from the city hustle and bustle. Overall, Millennium Park is a must-visit, offering a blend of art, nature, and unbeatable city views. Just remember to bring water and a hat in hot weather - it's all about reflection and protection!"

Clutter

By Marianik l |

I loved Chicago and its center before 2004, i.e. the creation of this park which is a real mess and invites you to do everything except rest!

Beautiful reflections piece of art

By Joe F |

Enjoyed seeing the beautiful city reflections in "The Bean" and got the obligatory pics, proving we had been to Chicago. Appreciated that it is free.

Millennium by night

By patlv23 |

This is our third visit but the first time at night. One notable difference is the security checks before entering the park. Still lots of people at the Bean but much less than during the day. The Crown Fountain area was virtually empty. These along with Pritzker pavillion look great lit up at night, especially the Bean as it reflects the surrounding buildings. This is probably general Chicago advice but make sure you fully understand SpotHero directions to parking as getting in the wrong one can be a headache.

Very Shiny!

By On Kayak Time |

I might pack a lunch and go back, weather permitting, on a future Chitown trip. I only saw it from my tour bus, but it was definitely popular.

Home to The Bean

By Beachcomb_33 |

Nice park, very spacious. Take a walk, enjoy a picnic, or just sit down and take in the view of the city. Home to The Cloud Gate aka The Bean. It's definitely worth taking a walk through. Enjoy!

unforgettable experience

By Explorer08584222839 |

I wandered through Millennium Park on a sunny afternoon, surrounded by the vibrant energy of the city. The reflection of the Cloud Gate sculpture shimmered in the sunlight, and the sounds of live music filled the air. It was a perfect blend of art, Nature and urban life. A truly unforgettable experience.

By Ashley P |

Wonderful, clean park located in the heart of downtown Chicago. Lots to see. Beautiful area to walk through. Lots of coffee shops around.

Great park

By deejay153 |

We had a lovely time in this park. Some of it was closed off which was a shame but had fun snapping photos of the bean and also our eight year old enjoyed the play park. They were showing a free movie on Thursday evenings in the park which we thought was good.

A really nice park

By SJM Jordan |

The park is very nice, clean and organized and have that famous bean in it. It also has a big place for concerts. I went during a hot day in May but I think it even looks nicer in evenings

great park with security check

By Vireak Y |

It's a great park in the middle of the city, you can see everything the city has to offer the busy roads, the train hub, the sea, all the downtown buildings... they have a security check point at the entrance so there could be a waiting line. It's relatively clean, but could be a bit cleaner, especially near the fountains.

A first-time visit to Chicago isn't complete without a stop at Millennium Park

By sanju_222323 |

Well, you know "The Bean" and it's here in Millennium Park. A first-time visit to Chicago isn't complete without a stop at Millennium Park. Chicago is all about the loop. Park is getting used to tons of things.

showcase cutting-edge art, architecture, and landscaping; it also acts as a backdrop for concerts and festivals. Most visitors come to Millennium Park to see the Crown Fountain and Cloud Gate, better known as "The Bean.

I would suggest the below attractions
Cloud Gate (bean)
Jay Pritzker Pavilion
Crown Fountain
Millennium Monument
BP Pedestrian Bridge

There are plenty of other reasons to visit Millennium Park: see a concert at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, stroll through the Lurie Garden, or the Boeing Galleries. You can also walk across the 925-foot-long, stainless steel, Gehry-designed BP Pedestrian Bridge, which connects Millennium Park to Maggie Daley Park.

On a gorgeous spring, summer, or fall day, grab a blanket and picnic basket to enjoy on the park's grounds.
yup, we have (I mean in New York), Central Park, Bryant Park, and 100s of parks - but I can’t recall any park where I can see all these attractions within 5 five-minute walk in the same park. you feel me, right?

Enjoyed the park

By pam k |

Lots to see here. Walked the area next time we go maybe go earlier in the season as it was a little hot that day. Picked one of the hottest days lol.

Bean park

By sainbasha |

This is a must visit in Chicago. This park is in downtown Chicago and visited by tourists with eagerness as it houses the bean. Its a great photo spot and poses an awesome instagram opportunity. Apart from this the park is nice too.

Must see

By Travel_by_S |

When I think of Chicago, I think of "the bean." It was cool to be able to see in person. I did think it would be bigger than it was.

Spectacular!

By YorlyH |

I loved Millenium Park. Nice gardens, and especially the famous Bean (The Cloud Gate) make this park (plus free) an unmissable visit.
We went in July and the weather was very nice. No extreme heat. An icon of the beautiful city of Chicago

Don’t miss it

By Bunty8 |

Lovely park which you have to visit when in Chicago. The fantastic fountains and of course ‘the Bean’ it’s busy during the day but didn’t detract from our visit. We were fortunate with the weather which always helps.
Plenty of places to sit and watch the world go by

Unique Park

By Potomac_11 |

This is a great park for walking, striking modern architecture, The Bean, and other attractions including free concerts.

I love this place

By Brandon |

It is a perfect place just to stay and relax. I really love the view, specially on the bean. I really want to stay there the hole day.

Beautiful, clean city park

By Beverly M |

Millennium Park was full of sites -- nature, art, people watching. We enjoyed the sanctuary in the middle of downtown Chicago, surrounded by skyscrapers. The Bean sculpture is fenced up right now while undergoing renovations, but you can still see it. Fun experience for people of all ages.

Great park and excellent vibe

By Ramesh A |

Millennium Park has a lot of things to offer, so plan your day accordingly. They do publish schedules on their website, so check for activities aligning with your interest and plan your day. On a hot summer day, you are better off going there early in the morning or evening. This has a beautiful trail walk, cloud gate a k a bean, amphitheater, beautiful trails, adjacent crown fountain. There are plenty of food stalls to get some food or beverage of your choice. Lot of ice cream stalls in the area.
You can do a bicycle, grab a book, have a relaxed reading, or pick up a camera to sharpen your photography skills or take a natural walk. Vibe in this park is excellent. I'm highly recommended while visiting Chicago. Don't miss this place.Add it to your list, and you won't be disappointed !!

Super original

By milyruiz |

Super original sculpture, amazing to see from the inside and take pictures, wherever you see it you can take an ideal photo. Love the view of the buildings around

Most Vibrant

By Charlotte H |

This is most vibrant and iconic spots. From famous Cloud Gate to beautiful gardens and lively public spaces, there is something for everyone. It's the Heart of Chicago. Perfect to relax, take photos and enjoy city's energy.

Not to be missed

By isapat26 |

We can compare this place, a true green lung, to that of Central Park in New York even if it is much more recent.
It is indeed quite incredible that this vast space was still a wasteland in the city center until its opening date in 2004... so 4 years after the Millennium!
Here we are rather on very successful modern achievements such as the Pritzer Pavilion, the Cloud Gate or the Crown Fountain where children can cool off in the summer.
You can also take the Nichols Bridgeway which connects the park to the famous Art Institute museum.
You can eat there....Good walk and beautiful photos in perspective but you will not be alone and so I advise you to go there in the morning.

Best Chicago View

By Esper |

The park is wonderful! Beautiful, very well maintained, with views of Chicago's best skyline. It's a shame that the Bean was under construction, but you could see it from a distance.
Ditto the source that was turned off due to the station.

Park of All

By Khalaf K |

The Millennium Park in Chicago is one of the busiest attraction in Illinois. Good place for walking and gathering of family with kids, couples, and friends.

Visiting it in the summer and spring will be better than winter. Although the visitor during winter has different feeling and experience.

Good to visit and not to miss out.

Perfect for families

By Xamot Tomax |

We always make it a point to stop by here, however brief, and enjoy the park. It’s perfect for photographers. We usually walk around, people watch, and sometimes setup a little picnic in the grass. It’s a great venue for the solo traveler, all the way to the families with small children.

Lovely

By Johnny Trekkie |

This park is enormous! Be prepared to spend at least 90 minutes wandering around, enjoyed greenery, gardens, sculptures, fountains, and of course that big silver bean thing which is unfortunately under maintenance through Spring 2024, so that was disappointing! But otherwise everything is lovely. Admire the architecture of the Art Institute. Look out onto the waters of Lake Michigan. Buckingham Fountain was filmed in the opening of the tv show "Married With Children"...one of my favorites from the 80s and 90s! This should be great for you social media addicts!

The Bean

By Julia M |

I mean, don't you need to visit the Bean while in Chicago? It was fun, and worth the visit, especially as the location is so close to so much.

What fun! My daughter and I felt like this was the most important part of our trip to Chicago and it did not disappoint.

Nice park even though the Bean was closed

By Sanna |

It was my first time visiting Chicago so naturally I wanted to see the Bean (or Cloud Gate), but unfortunately it was closed from the public during our visit. Millennium Park was still nice though – it's an inviting location with immediate access to the Lakefront and the Riverwalk and Lakefront trails. It's probably even prettier in the summer, although this time around we got to enjoy the quiet and peaceful park with not many visitors. Views of the skyline are great.

The bean

By tscheblo |

Visit Millennium Park no matter the season, but it is always a busy area. Take a selfie and don’t miss walking under the bean. The Christmas tree was lovely.

Beautiful Park in the Heart of Chicago!

By Cezaltina B |

Millennium Park is a great place to visit in Chicago. It is clean, green, and perfect for a walk or relaxing. The famous “Cloud Gate” (The Bean) is amazing and fun for photos.

There are many benches to sit and enjoy the view. The fountains and gardens make the park even more beautiful. It is also close to other attractions, so it’s easy to visit.

I highly recommend stopping by if you are in Chicago!

Mix of tradition and innovation

Nice walk in the park

By Dan - krycek1885 |

This is a nice park to walk around. Using the bridges and reviewing the waterfalls that are available.
The bean statue was shut off for renovation works when I walked around.

Also the park hosted the Chicago marathon which was great, but some areas were sections off for a short amount of time.

Definitely worth a walk to have a look around

Never gets old

By Unpretentious Foodie |

Millennium park I'm not sure about. Nothing wrong with it I suppose. But the bean, that's a different story. I've been to the bean a few times. And yes, I'd go again when in the area. I am unashamed: I love the bean. Touristy? Perhaps. Fun? Definitely. Unique? Where else have you seen a brobdingnagian, metalized bean with a outwardly reflective, mirrored surface?

Loved it... wish I'd seen more.

By SteveK28762 |

What a lovely place, right in the heart of the city. There's more to this place than Cloud Gate, but that was the reason I wanted to go.
I feel that we barely scratched the surface of the park but just wandering around was a really pleasant and relaxing experience. Would love to go again.

Exceeded my expectations

By CarolynQ63 |

The Bean in Millennium Park is super cool and a great photo op. We had fun checking out our distorted reflections. Another perk- it’s free. Would be great with kids.

Millennium Park is a great place to spend some time if you're in Chicago. It’s clean, safe, and located right in the city center. There are some famous landmarks like Cloud Gate ("The Bean") and interesting fountains and gardens to explore.
It’s a good spot to walk, relax, and take photos. There are often events or music performances, which make the visit even better. The park is also close to other attractions, so it's easy to include in your day.

Long Weekend in Chicago

By DianaL6232012 |

We love visiting Millennium Park. The day we went it was about 97 degrees and it was HOT! Especially around the BEAN! We took a few photos and moved along. The sun was shining and it was just reflecting off making it much hotter. We had planned coming and we took bathing suits for the kiddos to play in the Crown Fountain, which was my son's favorite part of the trip!

One of the most interesting places in Chicago

By ZeOtto |

Millenium Park is a must-see on your visit to Chicago.
It is there that you can find the famous “bean”, mirrored, which reflects not only the surrounding buildings and the sky, but is also a great place to take photos. It is a brilliant and unique work of art
On this visit we were unable to get close to the work, as they were carrying out some type of renovation.
The tip is to go up to Cindy’s rooftop, which is on the street next door (12 S Michigan Avenue), and see the work from up there.

MP is beautiful

By DROU812LOULOU |

Wonderful family friendly and pet friendly park. The Bean is a must in Chicago and the bridge is a beautiful site for proposals!

Seeing the works a different way

By dirkhardtmann |

Despite wind and spitting rain, seeing “The Bean” was an experience. The complex curvatures of the highly reflective Freeform sculpture invite hours of study and play. Stand 10m back and try to find yourself in the reflection, or get under it and see how many “you’s” you can find. The inclusion of the Chicago skyline in any pictures makes these a real keeper for memories!

Nice Park

By carolhubb |

beautiful park in the middle of the city and not too far from the lake. very walkable and clean. The area w/ the "Bean" was closed unfortunately, but was able to sneak a pic through the fencing. The park has a beautiful amphitheater offering concerts, definitely a vibe.

Millennium Park in Chicago is exactly what you hope it’ll be — lively, beautiful, and totally worth a stop. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is relaxed but buzzing. The Cloud Gate (“The Bean”) is even better in person — perfect for selfies and people-watching.
We wandered through the gardens, listened to a bit of live music near the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, and just enjoyed the skyline views against the green space. It’s easy to spend a couple of hours here without even realizing it.
Whether you’re into art, architecture, or just want a lovely place to sit and soak up the city, Millennium Park delivers. Highly recommend it if you’re exploring downtown — fun for all ages!

Highlight of Chicago

By lisaH8105ZZ |

We had a very special few days in Chicago, the park is so clean and well kept, great gift shop, lots of open space and the bean is a highlight, ages ranging from 4-60 all absolutely loved it, great picture opportunity. It was very busy but well worth a visit, the live music in the park made for a great atmosphere. We were on the tour bus and this is a stop.

A Must-Visit

By Charles S |

Millennium Park is a public park located in the Loop community area of Chicago. The park opened in July 2004 and features a variety of public art, including the famous 'Bean / Cloud sculpture', the Crown fountain, plus outdoor spaces and the centerpiece - the Jay Pritzker Pavilion seating 4000 for concerts. The park is bounded by Michigan Avenue, Randolph Street, Columbus Drive and East Monroe Drive. In 2017, Millennium Park was the top tourist destination in Chicago and top ten in the USA with 25 million annual visitors. A must-visit!

The Bean

Should be seen. Lots of people but some photo and then you are done. Clean and tidy applies throughout the city. Located much to see nearby.

Great park

By Laurence P |

A great park with lots to do. Nice little kiosk over by the track for some ice-creams. Great day out away from the hussle and bussle of the city centre.

A vibrant and beautiful park!

By Delphine N |

Millenium Park is a very vibrant, nice place to visit, with a lot of green space, interactive fountains, and the famous bean.

Beautiful park

By nicolevail |

Beautiful park, with our visit in October it was great but thought you would get a full experience during the summer. It has put putt, rock climbing wall, beautiful gardens.

Pretty park a stone's throw from the Loop

By Jean-Emmanuel R |

Nice park located a stone's throw from the Chicago Loop. There you can admire one of the city's symbols, the "Cloud Gate" ("the bean") which was unfortunately being restored during our visit.

Lovely piece of art within a park

By Vasiliki |

Our guide mentioned that the Bean will undergo renovation, so the visitors will not be able to approach it for some time.

Fun, relaxing

By Shieldsnan |

We walked to Millennium Park from our hotel in River North trice during our week long visit. Lots going on to do and see. The Bean was great fun.

Public Art at it's best

By OldWulf |

It was Marathon weekend, the sun was shining, Chicago had put it's best face on. The park was busy but joyful. This is public art at it's best, hundreds of people enjoying the creative genius , not just the Bean, but the fountains, and the water to paddle in and the space to relax, just happy people everywhere. Brilliant.

Breathtaking happiness

By Naveed A |

The buzz around Bean … got so many pics only because people were enjoying it. I don’t know what is it called the atmosphere where everyone is happy, enjoying with families. It was a fantastic walk around the park
Highly recommended

Beautiful Park

By DaniGina27 |

The Millenium Park is beautiful, very well taken care of, super clean. Full of tourists, of course, but as it is quite large and can not even notice so many people, the beauty of the place hypnotizes. Very green, contrasting with the "concrete" of the buildings... various attractions including the famous "bean" which is fantastic. We went on a sunny day and gave to enjoy a lot. It is a very beautiful place and with very good energy. Mandatory parade in Chicago.

Home to an iconic landmark

By William Kim |

A must see when visiting Chicago. This park is home to the iconic Bean. No trip to Chicago is complete without checking this place out! This place is like the Central Park of Chicago in that it is also right in the heart of Downtown. It can get crowded at times, but that is to be expected given its location. Did I forget to mention that it's free to enter as well? Yay!

There was, however, a large security presence when I visited, and such visitors were funnelled through only one entrance. We were also required to be screened. This apparently was in response to some incident involving a hundred or so teenagers attacking bystanders, tourists, etc. in the area. Yikes! However, this won't affect my perfect rating for this place because the timing of my visit happened to be just bad luck after the incident happened.

Other than the security note, the park is very clean, well-maintained, accessible, spacious and beautiful, full of different gardens, sculptures, etc. Definitely worth the hike. I also hear there is a concert venue here too - cool! It seems like there is something for everyone here.

Looking forward to my next opportunity at coming to this awesome park again in the near future.

Under construction

By VeganMadeEasy |

Unfortunately the bean’s area is under construction right now. There is a fence all around it hence you can’t get near it!

Fun and great experience

By Jenny |

My boys loved it. My oldest son is disabled and in a wheelchair but he always enjoys all the trips we go on and he really enjoyed being able to see himself in the mirror bean. My youngest had this on his list of things he wanted us to do while we were there.

Sunday in the Park

By Kittygal 🇺🇦 🌻 |

With a wink and a nod to the Chicago tune, a sunny Sunday in the park is a perfect way to enjoy the day. Come for Da BEAN, stay for the ambience.

I've visited in all kinds of seasons and weather, and it's still a great spot to walk through.

Bean

Very busy area during the day. Overall a pretty neat area to see history and sight see. I would recommend for first time chicago visitors

Very nice park

By ms8wotw |

First time visit to Chicago, and we didn't know what to expect. We were very pleasantly surprised at how clean it seemed, we were extremely cautious, but felt safe the entire time. This was a winter trip, but now, we'd like to come back and see this in the spring/summer.

Landmarks in Chicago

By Kimitaka Sho |

This park is almost guaranteed to attract visitors to Chicago. There are many interesting monuments such as Cloud Gate and Crown Fountain. It's amazing how much greenery there is in the middle of the city. Close to the Art Institute of Chicago and the Cultural Center.

A great place to celebrate the summer with the People of Chicago.

By Suryanarayana K |

I first visited the park in June 2016 and my second visit was last July. It is located in Downtown Chicago. It has a large parking underground and well connected with public transport. The bean is the highlight.

During the first visit, we saw the bean, the dedicated park for pet dogs and open auditorium. This time, we first visited the Art Institute and then proceeded to the Millennium Park. That day they had a free concert by tabla artist Zakir Hussain and three other artists. This time I noticed the flowering plants which were in full bloom. We also saw the large fountain which is popular with the kids. I do not remember having seen it last time.

The bean is a great public art made from polished stainless steel. You can see reflections of the city skyline as well as the visitors. Because of the curved shape, you get a different experience of the reflections. And this time, we saw it after the city lit up for the night. The views of the city lights in the bean is pleasant.

The auditorium also is an architectural and technical marvel. It has about 1000 seats and a large lawn. They have exercises for large groups in the morning of summer weekends. One hour each for yoga, aerobics, tai ichi etc. The speakers give you clear distortion free sound wherever you’re in the lawn. I the evenings, they have concerts, movies etc on specific days. In addition to the seats, I found the public setting up picnics in the lawn enjoying the performance.

We enjoyed the park.

An iconic stop

Good stop. Part of the city. Brief visit—took a few pics and then strolled the park. Free. Beautiful flower gardens and a neat concert venue within the park.

The ideal spot for photography

By Getaway775947 |

Millennium Park is beautiful with lots of different parts, You must visit the Bean for some great photography shots. This is a must if your in Chicago.

Very beautiful

By marcoaureliobertoli |

Wonderful park right in the heart of Chicago. It's worth visiting slowly to appreciate all the attractions of the place. Everything is very well looked after and maintained

Visited during the day. I felt safe, the park was clean, the tulips were in bloom.

By Mark S |

walked through the park on a Saturday. Many people but I always felt safe. The park was clean and there were many flowers in bloom. A bit cold in April along the water so be prepared. A great way to get out, get your steps in, people watch and see an oasis within the big city.

Worth going!

By Felicia C |

Amazing views, very entertaining. Fun to be there around Christmas time. The park's tree was beautiful and they had ice skating all day and night.

Fun afternoon

By HMom2 |

Super crowded on a weekend but we could find a spot for a good photo op by being patient. The rat of the park was also cool with a splash park for the kids. Worth the visit.

Better with leaves

By Big Mike |

The park was interesting and well covered in our tour, just not very interesting in the winter, without the water on in the fountains

Park for family visits

By María Fé Garzon |

The park is nice but the air is freezing so we couldn't stay long. It is easy to reach on foot and nearby there are food options.

I recommend a visit to this free attraction

By joaniemaria |

Definitely a destination near the lakefront in Chicago. We enjoyed our time walking around the park. Explored the Bean, Pritzker Pavilion, Maggie Daley Park, BP Bridge. It is all free to explore. There are benches along some of the walkways. I recommend.

Go early to avoid crowds

By Docbot_Sydney |

Get there early to have the place to yourself. It is quite a dynamic installation and I recommend going a few times to appreciate it at various times of the day.

Go in the evening!

By Catherine C |

We went after the Christmas tree lighting. There were vendors, the bean, and ice skating. It’s a nice area, we felt very safe. It was crowded due to the Thanksgiving holiday but not so much that you couldn’t walk around and get some great pics. We walked back to our hotel. The city sparkles at night. Very beautiful.

No Dogs

By Freya123456 |

We walked all the way here to discover this area of the park doesn’t allow dogs. The audacity. Our dogs behave better than many of the people ya’ll let in. That’s ok, nobody wants to look at those funky old sculptures anyways.

Great Time (Even Solo) to Walk, People Watch, and Eat

By Bill B |

I stopped by millennium Park while in Chicago on business. On a beautiful Sunday, it was gorgeous to just walk around people watch and enjoy a few bites to eat at some of the local eateries one in particular right in front of the bean was Casa Bonita, which served delicioustacos. I’ve only five dollars each. While I’ve been here before, it is always fun and enjoyable to come by even if by yourself like I was this time.

Fascinating Chicago

By Marisa S |

As amazing and cosmopolitan as New York with more space and less hassle. Great food, museums, parks, entertainment, art and fun things to do.

Fantastic park

By Mitek25 |

It is a wonderful park in the heart of Chicago with many plants but also monuments, venues between the Lake and city skyline

Snowing in Chicago!

By Maegen Smith |

We went to Chicago to celebrate New Year’s and it was magical. It was very cold but the snow made for beautiful pictures. Can’t wait to go back when it’s nice out.

Millenium Park, Loop, Bean, Auditorium

By Norah M |

Millenium Park has a pleasant ride or walk as you can enjoy huge open spaces, green grass, and modern architecture as well.

Worth looking at

By Crystal |

The bean is neat to look at but it's hard to get any solo time. There were a ton of visitors. It started raining while we were there so a bunch of people huddled under the bean to stay dry. It was cute.

Despite the large number of visitors, Millennium Park didn't seem congested.

By Ug O |

I honored my old favorites and took a leisurely stroll along the raised walkway. Amish Kapoor's Cloud Gate (commonly called "the Bean") and Frank Gehry's shell are well-known, and the vistas of Chicago are breathtaking.

Must see this for your Chicago experience.

By Tourist800597 |

Its a fun photo stop. The city skyline reflection is cool. It's also a free attraction a beautiful park that is family friendly.

Peace and beauty

By FedeDavide4 |

The park is not the size of Central Park, but it is truly enchanting, an alternation of greenery and architectural beauty. The CLOUD GATE certainly reigns supreme, but it is the atmosphere in the park that is fascinating.

Really crowded but when in Rome...

By 2BEis2SKI |

The Bean is a tourist magnet but worth at least looking at for 2 minutes. The park itself is really magnificent with lots to enjoy. We were there in Feb so ice skating was available. There are good views of the city and lots of great people watching.

In better weather, it'd be a great place to just go and sit. Definitely recommend.

Great park

By Peter M |

Definitely worth a visit. Well maintained and laid out with the must see ‘Bean’. This very popular but on a nice sunny day you will get lots of photo opportunities. It is worth seeing.
Park has lots of trees to provide shelter from sun. The water feature where kids can play is a nice feature and very popular.
Toilet facilities available as are the customary food and drink outlets. Easy walking distance from centre of town

Millennium Park

By Akbar Akh |

Chicago is a very beautiful and attractive city. My wife and I were in Chicago for 10 days in April.
It's really a dream city, especially walking on the Riverwalk, Millennium Park and eating Chicago pizza

Photo must

By Iscdem |

Beautiful park and the sculpture is impressively large. I thought it was smaller, but it's huge. There are a lot of people and it's hard to take a picture without more people... like any tourist spot. You must go.

Bean Bean you beautiful fruit the more you ...

By hockeyaw19 |

Quite a nice park in the heart of Chicago near Lake Michigan. The bean is here though under construction in late May when we went. They also have a concert/pavilion that had a kid friendly music festival going on while we were there for the surrounding school districts. Plenty of people watching, fountains, greenery, and art adjourn the park walking paths. There are also several bathroom facilities free to the public and clean. We felt quite safe the entire time we were there including later in the evening upwards of 9pm.

Amazing!

By Brenna H |

Millennium Park in Chicago is a must-visit! The iconic Cloud Gate (aka “The Bean”) is even more impressive in person, reflecting the city’s skyline in a cool, surreal way. The park itself is spacious, with beautiful green areas, stunning art installations, and a great vibe. I loved walking around the Crown Fountain, watching the video projections and water spray. It’s a perfect spot to relax or snap some great photos. Definitely a highlight of Chicago!

Huge attraction

By grapeeape |

Fun to visit the Bean sculpture in this nice park. Unique reflection off the sculpture and fun photo tricks with different angles to take selfies.

UNMISSABLE!

By ErMatador |

As per the title. If you are in the city or nearby do not miss this location that is not only the park, with the various and well-known outdoor creations but also theater, museums, restaurants and obvious greenery and gardens!
All very enjoyable (of course the exterior in the a season) and very safe.
RECOMMENDATION

one of the landmarks in Chicago

By ELKW |

the silver bean is the iconic symbol in the Millennium park, not much attraction in Chicago is "free", but this is one of the "free" landmarks in Chicago. There are a giant Christmas tree in December, also there is an outdoor ice rink in the winter, you can bring your own skate and skate for free, otherwise, the rental is expensive.

Tip to be the first one in at photo time

By jjac0bus |

Definitely a must see when you come to Chicago. If you are waiting for the park to open to view the Cloud Gate (bean) - I recommend going to the Millenium Grill for a Carbonara Pizza and a couple of beers. Keep a watch on the time and be the first one in to get a once in a lifetime picture without all of the other visitors getting in your photo!

Wow....It's fun

By William M |

Just go it's a fab park and wait til you see the fountain projecting the faces of people from Chicago on it's two massive
tower blocks separated by a reflecting pool. Also the huge reflective "bean" aka cloud gate. The park is beautiful and home to the massive outdoor amphitheatre designed by Frank Gehry.

The Bean, the Views, the Vibe – Millennium Park is a Must

By Tina Montinola |

If it’s your first time in Chicago, Millennium Park is the perfect intro to the city.

We came here mainly to see The Bean (Cloud Gate) and it didn’t disappoint. It’s massive, shiny, super fun to take photos with especially your own reflection from different angles. You’ll find yourself wondering how they even built something like this. It’s pretty surreal in person.

The whole park is great for walking around. It felt safe too we noticed Chicago cops patrolling which was nice. You can chill on the grass, grab a drink or a bite from the food stalls, or even bring your dog and just relax. It’s also a nice place to jog in the morning if you’re staying nearby.

There’s this other feature called Crown Fountain it’s the one with the digital faces that spit out water. Kids were running through it and seemed to love it. The structure is really cool to look at, even if you’re just passing by.

Also spotted this huge silver structure that looked like a stage Jay Pritzker Pavilion, I think? Read online it’s used for concerts. Would love to catch a show there next time.

Overall, Millennium Park gives you the full Chicago experience in one place. Public art, good energy, open space, and amazing architecture all around. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the city.

Great park and rink

By dambanker |

Took a walk down the Magnificent Mile and ended up at Millennium Park. I wanted to see the "Bean" but it and the immediate area around it was under construction. Not one to let something get in my way I did manage to get a good look at it and snap a decent photo. The rest of the park is a nice relaxed part of the city with many things to appreciate. We took a nice break at the Millennium Monument at one of the plentiful benches.

The highlight though was the ice rink. Really nice spot for a free skate and it wasn't busy during the week. One just has to book a time online first. They have skate rentals there too. Decent skates for beginners with a molded boot but I encourage skaters to bring their own.

The rink also provided a different perspective of the Bean as well.

Wonderful Architecture

By Jasmine |

A wonderful place to gather together, walk around, sight see and look at art. A must-see when visiting Chicago.

So Much Fun! Watch for Others

By TimCampbellSMS |

The park is gorgeous, and there's always something going on - from concerts to food trucks to buskers, it was so fun to walk through. I went three different days during a trip and there was always something cool to see!
That said, the one caution I have that people can, frankly, suck. One person who worked at the park told me I couldn't have my DSLR camera. They couldn't tell me why, or what the rule was, and expected compliance; which, I didn't give and there were no problems. Some tourists also have no concept of how much physical space they inhabit and can disrupt the experience.

Home of “The Bean”

By AdventureMN95 |

Millennium park was so much fun to walk around, the water feature was really cool and refreshing. It’s also the home of “ The Bean”. The “rock garden” that hang from the tree tops was also very beautiful. Very much a must see stop and spend a hour or so waking around and enjoying.

A Must See

By esmirelda |

Although everysay says to go to Cloud Gate absolutely GO! It is fun to experience the this beautiful work of art. It is also fun to see the interaction of people with this work of art.

A must see

By Tyler H |

The bean is a must see. In the heart of things, easily accessible via public transit, numerous art installations, super close to the Chicago Art Institute, and swarming with food trucks. 10/10

The crowded beam

By Vicente López Mateu |

Very nice place but crowded almost every time. Sugestion: take away better than sit in the restaurants.

Beautiful Park beautiful city.

By Laura d |

Chicago is a beautiful city with gorgeous Parks. The bean & other Art in surrounding parks is magnificent. I love the USA & Chicago didn't disappoint amazing architecture.

Wonderful

By Nell F |

Millineum Park was very nice. Very clean. Lots of stores to visit. Perfect weather. Nice crowd. The Bean was gorgeous. Such a nice area to explore. You can spend 30mins there or 2 hours easily. I highly recommend!

Qianxi Park

By 徐徐丹青似锦江 |

The environment is very good for playing in the summer. There is a security check at the entrance of the park. It is a pity that the Silver Bean is under maintenance recently and I didn’t see it. The bridge leading to another park in the middle is one-way and you can’t go back once you go up. It takes about two hours to go around the whole park. It is more suitable for local Chicago families to come and relax on weekends. Outsiders are likely to come to the Silver Bean to take a photo and leave for a one-time visit. It is more suitable to insert it into a complete travel day and take a look along the way.

Millennium Park relax and enjoy the surrounding areas.

By Reg R |

The eye catching large chrome sculpture within the garden certainly was the main attraction. It involved people with its reflection of them and the surrounding garden and city scape.
The outdoor entertainment for music and other performances also displays a unique style of architecture that is worth seeing even if there’s no performance.
The park is not very large but it has many tree shade areas and lush green grass and places to sit and relax.
Well worth a visit.

Worth checking out.

By Joe Gold |

Awesome architecture. Very cool art. Definitely worth visiting. It is worth walking around the park to see interesting sights.

Great Large Outdoor Venue

By jmarlow74 |

Perfect spot to enjoy the scenery. The “Bean” is really cool in person and they wee decorating the tree while I watched. There’s enough space to wander and enjoy and quite a few landmarks.

Loved it!

By JustAAdventurer |

We love going here every time! It can be a little crowded, but there is so much here to enjoy, that you don’t really notice it! Definitely a must see, especially during the Chicago Marathon!

Classic of the city

Classic tourist spot of the city, full of visitors taking photos. Traditional scene of the city. Next to the Art Institute of Chicago (which is also worth seeing)

Cool place to see!

By Briana T |

Great cool place to see! Would recommend checking this place out. There is also lots of other things nearby to do. You will get a little wet if you’re downwind.

unsafe

By kimmy s |

Chicago has be come unsafe. I was almost too scared to get out of the black car service i took to come see this park

Fun to walk through

By A-L-G787 |

Myself with with husband, and four month old walked through Millennium Park on our way to our adventures in Chicago. I was excited to finally see the Bean in person. It was not very busy and not too many people there so if you wanted a picture of yourself with it, it wasn’t difficult to get a good shot. That’s all we did there so can’t say much else about the rest of the park.

Chicago Treasure MUST SEE

By Grover R |

The Lakefront park has always been a Chicago treasure. However, the additions made to the park from 1998-2004 modernized in such an incredible way that it truly is one of the best attractions in the city. There are so many incredible individual parts but together they are MUST SEE for any Chicago visit. My wife and I enjoyed the park so much we visited it all 3 days we were in Chicago, and every time we found something different. This is such a great amenity for any city and it is not like size or extravagance that make it an attraction. Really it is the way it melts so seamlessly with the city skyline and lakefront. Again, I cannot tell you enough about it, you simply HAVE TO VISIT it.

Very neat!

By Eric R |

Very clean park! Enjoyed watching the ice skaters while admiring the bean. Wasn’t overcrowded and everyone around was smiling from ear to ear!

Lovely Park in Downtown Chicago!

By joyce b |

Millennium park is a lovely park adjacent to Lake Shore Drive and located in downtown Chicago. The Bean is there, though under construction during our visit so we couldn’t get close to it. There is a really cool Fountain in the park as well Definitely worth a visit!

Great Greenety in Downtown Chicago

By Toni T |

What a great summer day to explore this greenery in downtown Chicago. I splashed in the fountains with screaming kids and camera photographers-parents. The large rectangle fountains have human faces that change and spray out water from their mouths. The green area houses some sculptures and shaded area to enjoy sitting or a picnic.
Accessible restrooms at far end of park
Accessible entry and mobility thru venue with wide ramps near stairs

The Bean

By Christina |

Of course we had to make a stop at Millennium Park and go check out “The Bean”. It’s definitely worth experiencing in person!

Used to be great

By Kelly Cathcart |

This park used to be great, not so much anymore. Now they have it fenced off and entrance and exit is only allowed in certain places depending on what they feel like. There is no warning as well so you can waste a lot of time trying to leave. It has become unsafe as well. There are lots of issues here.

Stunning

By plfdakar |

Despite the work, the place is beautiful and relaxing. A beautiful green setting in Chicago, worth visiting at all costs. Beauty is under construction but we can see it. Looking forward to spring 2024, end of work

Amusing place

By Falparsi |

An amusing place where you can stroll with family and children. Some interesting contemporary monuments (the Mountain, the bean)

Chicago's Finest

By Catherine J |

The park is gorgeous, and has so many areas to see! There are places for children, places to walk, places to rest, views of the city. It is a gem!

Art district

By life traveler |

Park in the art district and very full. Lots of things to see. The sculpture is very cute and visited by so many. I enjoyed the stroll and taking pictures of all the architectural sculptures and buildings. The have an area for concerts which seems nice even saw a yoga class on the lawn.

Fantastic

By josenice n |

Beautiful place, with several works of art around, unmissable. In the summer full of adults and children around the monument. The Pavilion (open-air theater) next door, with many free shows.

Chicago's Iconic Urban Oasis

By Adrian B |

This park is a stunning blend of art, architecture, and green spaces, offering a unique and refresh. It's also free to visit, which is a fantastic perk in a city where attractions can quickly add up in cost. However, its popularity can result in crowds, especially during peak tourist seasons, so timing your visit wisely can enhance your experience.

Celebrating Jazz Festival in Chicago's Millennium Park

By Tsungpao T |

Chicago Millennium Park, the time we arrived coincided with the Chicago Jazz Festival, so we didn't have a good tour in the park, but we saw huge crowds of people. The scene was very lively and festive. There was a big music stage with a lot of people sitting underneath. Some people brought their own tables, chairs and food, and many people sat on the grass. It's crazy. Next time you have time, you can go to Millennium Park and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Millennium Park.

Not Just the Bean, Easy Walk from Riverwalk

By Real Guy |

Cool, you'll take a lot of pictures. It's not just about the bean as there are other parts of the park to walk through. We stayed around the Riverwalk, this was an easy 5 minute walk, a ton of restaurants and such around.

Nice park

By Mazen H |

Nice park to hangout with beautiful scenery, there are benches to sit on all around. It just gets too crowded with everyone trying to get pictures.

Business Trip

By wmassistant2023 |

I imagine it's a great place to go to, from what I could see. Currently, you cannot see it much, due to the construction going on.

Wonderful and unique park- perfectly safe night and day, don't listen to the naysayers.

By traveltheworld012 |

To start, I have to say I have visited this park at least a dozen times solo, and each time it has always been totally safe either at night or during the day. I have never seen anyone unfriendly here. Great place to walk, sit and rest or take photos of the city skyline or selfies. Most recently, 4 of us were in Chicago to celebrate my birthday August 25, 2025. We dined at Cindy's Rooftop which is right across Michigan Avenue, then came here for a walk and again see the bean (my friend calls it the "peanut"). The bean is as beautiful at night as it is during the day. At 9:30PM there were quite a few people walking about the park, admiring the bean and the views. Great place, very unique and a nice greenspace in the heart of Chicago. Be sure to come here if visiting Chicago.

Busy

By greeneyes630 |

Lots to see, but so busy. Fortunately we stayed nearby and went before the crowds woke up. The park was extremely busy all day and night.

not to be missed

By Stefano M |

park not very large, but with a very nice concert arena and the famous aluminum "fagliolo" in which you mirror ... really fantastic

Very nice, but it is under renovation (May/24)

By Thiago L |

Classic spot for any visitor to Chicago.

The beans are cool and the park around it is really beautiful. You can walk there for a good few hours and from there head to the fountain and to the museum island.

Note: now in May/24 it is under renovation. I went there on 05/25/2024 and you can't get close to the beans, as it is under renovation (I don't know for how long).

Great Park

By Lauren R |

What a neat park!

It's huge for being in the middle of a city! When we got there, we walked past a stage where there were dancers performing. We watched them for a little bit, they were great!

There were people having picnics on the grass, kids playing, people eating food, it was just a great vibe!

The real reason we came was Cloud Gate...and so did a lot of other people! Good thing it's huge! There is no way to not get anyone else in your photo, but at least everyone has other people in theirs too! It's all part of the experience. If you're patient, you can get a good spot for a photo though.

A good spot in Chicago

By Salvador F |

Millennium Park is such a cool spot in Chicago! The Cloud Gate, or “The Bean,” is a must-see for photos, and the surrounding gardens are beautiful. The open spaces and modern art make it a great place to relax or explore. Perfect for a sunny day in the city!

Blues Festival at the Millennium Park in June 2023

By PFitzy73 |

I visited the Millennium Park whilst on a solo trip to Chicago. On the day I went it was excellent sunny weather and there was a Blues Festival taking place. Entry into the park was free and the queue to get in was quick and just for security and bag checks. The blues festival was really good and the park is well maintained. Obviously, I had to take a selfie by the bean sculpture too. Worth a visit for sure.
