If ever you go to Missoula, make sure you visit the Farmers Market. It offers beautiful vegetables, flowers and plants all grown locally. Too bad I was flying I would have loaded up on the plants. The Market was divided up into three sections. First was the vegetables and plants, the second was all kinds of scrumptous pasteries and baked goods from the local Bakeries and independents. Coffee of any variety was offered as well. Missoula people love their coffees. The third was Arts and Crafts, again made by the locals. There were also individuals playing musical instuments, no bands, scattered throughout. Again locals. So much to see and buy, it was wonderful. There are a lot of talented people in Missoula. Make sure you spend as much time as you can and don't miss anything, take your time and soak up the atmosphere.

A great selection of seasonal fruits, vegetables and baked goods. It can be busy. I advise to go earlier if you just want the edibles or whenever, if it's an event for you;)

There are 3 Markets on Saturday....I think of the whole package deal as the "Farmer's Market!" And every single one of them are awesome!
The one on Higgins, down by the X's (I'm assuming that is the REAL Farmer's Market) has mostly home grown fruits, veggies and flowers. Its great! Lots of fun local vendors! Everyone is very reasonably priced. The Flathead Cheese station is amazing! The Wasabi Cheese Curds are to die for.....
The one that is over by Jimmy John's is mostly hand made crafts like jewelry, wood working, sewing, etc. This has a lot of really great local art! Very talented people down here!
The third one, under the bridge, I believe this is called the "People's Market" is amazing! There are a TON of baked goods (MANY gluten free options! My personal favorite is the Tandem Bakery) as well as cooked foods, meats, fresh fruits and veggies and flowers. Not as many fresh things as the market by the "X's" but still a very good selection.
It gets pretty crowded the closer to noon you get!! But its a lot of fun to walk around and see the local vendors and what they have grown, made or baked! If you have the chance, DEF take advantage of these markets!!!

Really nice farmers market. Got some gluten free baked good for my hubby. Yum! Vegies looked amazing. Bought some small cucumbers that reminded me of the ones my Bulgarian grandfather use to grow.

If while shopping or browsing , if you can't find something you like, well, you just missed out on some of the nicest things our area has to offer!!!!!

One of my favorite things to do is visit the market; not only is there good produce but also excellent prepared food, as well as crafts and other things in another location close by. A great thing to do in Missoula.

Really nice assortment of vegetables and flowers, even on a rainy day! Delicious foods waffle sandwiches are the best.

I have been 5 times to Missoula and taken always trips from there. Wonderful town and the Farmers Market is certainly wonderful.
Beautiful atmosphere, good products. Just nice!
People who are into good food should also visit the Good Food Store. Just lovely!

Purchased flowers for a wedding on a beautiful day in September. There was lots of selection and a bounty of fresh vegetables- only wish i had more time to peruse all the booths!

Such a fun time... happy people, fresh produce and food, live music. One of the best summer activities in Montana!

I love the Missoula Farmer's Market! There's wonderful variety of products, fresh fruit and vegetables, fish, meats, baked goods, plants, soap, oils etc. I was thrilled to find morels for $10 for a larger than quart sized box.

We were in Missoula on a rainy Saturday morning and stumbled on the market. While I think some of the vendors decided the rain was too much to show, there was still a good representation of craft vendors and LOTS of food/veggie vendors. The hot cups of cappuccino from one of the trucks made our walk around a lot more comfortable, and the bags of freshly picked huckleberries and apples made the rest of our trip a little yummier.

Big Market - Lots of farm-fresh vegetables, and seasonal fruit from local vendors. You'll find crafty stuff too, if you're into that. Baked goods are here and there as well. Fun way to spend a morning.

So much variety foods and crafts and lots of musicians. Make sure when you go to Missoula the market is open. It's a must see.

The Missoula Farmer's Market is a local favorite supplying a wonderful variety of fresh veggies, starter plants and fresh baked goods. You won't be disappointed.

One of the best framers markets for late spring, summer , and fall fruits, produce, flowers, local artisans, and food. Has been noted in many magazines and and lists. It is absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is outstanding also. A hub for the 5 valleys area every Saturday and Tuesday evening.

Yes, the Missoula Farmer's Market has been going on for over 30 years. Before farmer's markets began their resurgence, the Missoula, Montana, market was in existence. It is a wonderful market and changes with the summer season beginning in early May with bedding and vegetable plants for the garden to the middle of fall with apples and pumpkins, etc. The market not only sells veggies and fruits but also baked goods, local honey (how sweet it is!), and flowers among other products. Plus you still can get wonderful coffees and teas to sip as you shop around. It's a wonderful experience.

Lots of beautiful produce and flowers. The fresh huckleberries were fabulous and I had a wonderful brownie too. I hear the line for fresh squeezed lemonade made with local honey can become very long, but we did not have to wait and it was indeed very tasty. There are 3 streets with vendors, but the prime area seems to be nearest the river. The craft vendors are mostly on the other two streets.

The Farmer's Market is a Missoula institution and a must to visit on Saturday mornings. Fresh (mostly organic) produce, bakery items, tantalizing sweets, music . . it doesn't get any better on a sunny morning.

This is the original Farmers Market in Missoula. It is open at 8am. There are now two Markets one is downtown and the other is under the bridge. Many of the producers have people at both markets. There are two Russian women who have baked goods, that are terrific. Several of the stalls have organically raised produce. There are stalls that have flowers and plants. In the fall there are pumpkins. It is a friendly place where you meet many old friends.

The market brings Missoula out to enjoy the fabulous down town, fresh produce raised around the valley and there isn't a better way to spend a Saturday morning in the summer.

This market has a little something for everyone. There was a booth with belly dancers and that was really fun to watch. The vendors that sell produce is in a different spot then the ones who sold clothes, leather items and so on. Which I liked since I know farmer markets can get really busy. But it's sooooo worth going to.

We recently discovered this fantastic farmers market even though we've lived in Missoula for years. Baked goods, produce, coffee, meats, it's all good. We prefer the one under the Higgins bridge.

So many lovely craft vendors right in downtown Missoula, the Garden City. We really enjoyed our stroll downtown and walk through the Market. Fact & Fiction Books was also a quick walk from there. We were sad to miss James Lee Burke's book signing, but received an autographed copy when we returned home. Missoula is the one town I could really live in. People were so friendly and the town and its surrounding burbs are lovely.

Whenever guests come to visit, we go to the Farmers Market for people watching, music, arts and dare I say food? It's a great place to see what makes Missoula Missoula. Only downside is how busy it gets!

Best farmers market I've ever visited. Prices were very reasonable. Fruits and vegetables looked picture perfect! The baked goods and breakfast stands with food were also great! So glad we found this!

While in Missoula we went to the Farmer's Market and Saturday Craft Fair. Both were great. The produce at the Farmer's market was amazing.

Any of the produce you buy there is fresh and appears freshly picked. The prices are generally reasonable and the selection is generally broad.

We fix out own food when we travel so this place was a great find! While you are there you’ll see the XXXX’s by the rail station. We were looking for farm fresh eggs and veggies. This was the place to go! Wide section of seasonal produce. The prices were comparable to any store and most were lower. Great buys and choices! Everyone we talked to was great, mostly immigrants from around the world. The conversations we had were interesting and entertaining. Kinda made me wish I lived near Missoula because I would be down there every week. Worth the stop just to get a good feel for the real Missoula. Go just to look!

Whenever visiting family in Missoula we love being g able to walk to the Farmers Market. Was just there last month. Love having anything huckleberry! The fruit and vegetable stands are set up so nicely. Bought some huckleberry and strawberry jelly and pickles to take home in the plane.

The farmers market is set up to be very cute with live music and all, however it was lacking a lot variety, there were probably only ten total tents. We went on a Tuesday which might have been part of the reason for this. Would probably try visiting again later in the season and on a weekend!

The most amazing best market I have been to in years. I love that there are so many options and different markets. Waking up early and walking the market is on of my favorite things when visiting Missoula.

Lots of vendors and fun! Great quality vegetables and food, as well as the flowers. There is something for everyone!

Saturday mornings are never dull if you spend them at Missoula Farmer's Market Local vendors offer everything from apples to zucchini. In addition to fresh fruits and vegetables, you can find local honey, baked goods and even locally sourced meats and cheese. A few blocks down you can peruse the wares of local artists of every kind.

Missoula has a surprising number of Asian gardeners/farmers who display their products beautifully. We even garnered some morel mushrooms. The Black Cat Bakery bread and pastries are excellent, and there's a very fine coffee stand by it. Beautifully flowers on sale, too.

The Missoula Farmers Market is one of the best, due to the variety and quality of it’s venders. Located in a park in downtown Missoula, next to the Clark Fork River, this gem is loaded with fun, food and entertainment.

After attending the Montana University Homecoming Parade (which was quite spectacular and loads of fun!), we crossed the Higgins Bridge over the Clark Fork River (magnificent views!) and saw the Farmer’s Market below. So we went down the steps and took a stroll. The most intriguing thing about the vegetables was their size. They were huge!! There is a “famous” waffle/ breakfast stand, and even pillows stuffed with lambswool were for sale. Be sure to visit when you are in Missoula.

I have been to several farmers markets in different towns and Missoula really rocks it with thier market! Wide variety of just about anything you could look for in a farmers market!

The market by the railroad tracks in Missoula is so much fun - choose from a huge variety of fresh veggies, fruit, eggs, plants, flowers, cheese, baked breads, coffee drinks and other delightful treats. The market is located on Missoula's old cobblestone streets and is in walking distance to a couple of artist markets held each Saturday. You can't help but have big fun at Missoula's Farmers' Market.

The farmer's markets in Missoula are second to none. This particular market is slightly less crowded than the market under the bridge. A lot of people walk from one to the other. Our family enjoys the fruits and vegetables brought in from the local area. We particularly like to bring friends visiting from out of town to the markets. Our two year old loves the live music and she always leaves a tip for the performers. There are several places selling Danishes and the crepes are amazing.

I so look forward to the first week of each May to be able to start getting up and heading out to the farmer's market each Saturday! Great selections of fresh fruits and vegetables, a variety of breakfast stands with food prepared just for you as you order, crafts in between the uptown and downtown farmer's markets - the social event of the warm months! You never know who'll you'll see - but you will know that you'll have a GREAT time!

From KC where I thought we had a great market. It doesn't even compare. This is a must visit. Go hungry too! The food served there is unreal

I found best watermelon place in these 6 years. One day, I was waiting my husband and getting little bored and saw the two boys selling little veggies and fruits. And I didn't see any customer there and they looked bored ,too . So I thought I should support them and went their tent and bought red watermelon and corns. A fire we went home, we ate Them and they are sooooooooooo goooooooooood, couldn't believe three of us include my 3 years boy ate them almost half . It was amazing taste. My mother own grocery stores for more than 20 years and I grew up with vegetables and fruits. I ate many good watermelon in my life but it was best of my whole life. Even my husband which is not watermelon fan wanted come back next week and buy it again. We asked who they are because I was very interested in who they are and looks like armish. But they (this time they were young women) are Germany baptist near Macdonald lake I think .But we didn't make sure address or any thing because We both thought they will have tent next week ,too but didn't. They had tent near glass in lower market. I wish we can see them again next year. By the way their corn was good, too. I wanted to buy more but we couldn't either. We usually enjoy Benson's farm corns but this year they didn't have good one they are stailed so we didn't go back after that. May be baca se not so much water this year or just old? Anyway I hope they come back again in 2016.

Whenever we visit Missoula this Farmer's Market is a must. Held every Saturday (during the growing season), it's a great place to find fresh produce. Many booths sell similar items, but all keep prices pretty much the same. And, it's all great quality. Some vendors sell the most beautiful flower bouquets! If you hit the proper time of the summer, you can also get fresh huckleberries!! Be sure to stop here to take a look...and then head down the street to the People's Market & the market under the bridge!

Excellent place to get all your produce fresh. Enjoyable atmosphere at the Missoula Farmers Market and you might even see your friends and neighbors. Also there are various vendors with arts and crafts just two block south of the farmers market.

We came here to visit families and been going to the farmers market every Saturday mornings. I was really impressed, you can find lots of things here from home baking to fresh veggies, coffees. We came here to visit families and been going to the farmers market every Saturday mornings. I was really impressed, you can find lots of things here from home baking to fresh veggies, coffees, tea, Kombucha, lemonade, honey, oils, to seafood, meats, to food trucks. Everything is fresh. What amazed me the most are the people here. They are genuine, and friendly. With the natural beauty of the place, it is truly a nice place to live.

I usually go to the one on the north end of downtown for the veggies. It's interesting to walk around and see what there is to see. If you can't grow a garden yourself, it's a great way to get fresh local produce. The coffee and baked goods are great too.

Local produce, baked goods and garden items in a fun Missoula downtown location. Always good for some fun people watchin

I will never look at Seattle area farmers markets the same way again.
Missoula's oldest downtown farmer's market has them all beat. It's smaller than the one near Caras Park at the Bridge, but to me, it's better. You don't get overwhelmed by a million choices. There aren't too many people giving you claustrophobia. The selections are truly homemade.
I loved the live folk music, meeting a lot of immigrant farmers and their families, and quite a few Belarus bakers and jam makers.
I couldn't believe the selection, of produce and baked goods. I wanted everything!
Definitely go. We spent four hours here.
Just arrive early, or be prepared to find street parking, which can be tricky with all the permit-only areas.

Convenient, but parking can be challenging. Small group of vendors, but quality fresh produce. Less crafts than Clark Fork FM.

Great coffee and lots to eat at the market. There was some unbelievable feta cheese to sample. People were very friendly. Since we got there at 10am some of the popular pastries were gone! The early bird catches the worm! A great event to start then continue to walk downtown to get the Clarkfort craft market a couple blocks away.

there are actually several markets in Missoula. I am referencing the one near the river on Saturday.
it has an amazing profusion of available cooked foods, breads, fresh produce, crafts, food trucks and stalls.
We had a wonderful time shopping and eating. The burrito stand we visited had large portions of tasty food. The nearby baker had bread we ate for supper at home.
A great place to visit in town.

Beautiful, fresh & vibrant veggies, pastries, coffee, vendors of all sorts and they all gather at the Farmers Markets downtown each Saturday (May-October). The choices are amazing too. Missoulians flock to the markets for their organic, locally grown produce all summer long. One market at the Higgins Street bridge, the other at the north end of Higgins at Circle Square.

Enjoy going to the market when visiting g family. Was just there 10 days ago. Again the huckleberry pastry was awesome! Have bought many things over the years. It’s so nice because we can walk there.

Nice variety and good prices in an attractive location with good parking opportunities. Loved the opportunity to buy best beef and there are some nice surprises, as well as cordial vendors.

A great open-air farmer's market ... there's great variety, including baked goods, wild huckleberries, coffee (drip & latte's, etc). Always worth the trip.

The best place to be on any Saturday morning in the Spring/Summer is the Farmers Market downtown in Missoula. The variety of items are exceptional, always fresh and new. Great place to gather!

Farmers' Market starts each May and is the best of Missoula outdoors. Don't miss it and visit the People's Artists Market at the same time.

We are excited during the winter blues to remember how fun it will be to go to the Missoula Farmer's Market. Great to see friends and meet vendors who are bringing healthy food to your table.
So many choices for healthy living.
See you there!

A very upbeat nice Farmer’s market with lots of vendors selling fruits, vegetables, breads, jams l, plants, and craft type items. We had a very enjoyable time and the kids loved it. A fun Saturday morning.

There are so many options from fresh fruit, veggies, coffee, meat, and flowers. We got a little bit of everything. Most of it is cash only. The prices are pretty good as well!

We found her on Saturday at the Original Farmer's Market on N. Higgins near the red XXX. She speaks little English, but will gesture with pride that she just took her loaves of banana bread out of the oven an hour ago. We could not taste banana in the bread, and there are no nuts in the loaf, but it is a simultaneously light and hearty dark loaf of mystifying flavor that makes you keep sneaking just one more slice until you realize you should have bought out her entire stock of "banana" bread because now it is Saturday afternoon and she is gone and you are leaving town and you will never taste that addictive bread again. Sigh...

The Missoula farmers market has great fresh fruit and vegetables and local meat and cheese. It has a fun atmosphere and is always a great time and an inexpensive way to get produce that is local.

Be sure to wear walking shoes and plan several hours. It takes up a huge portion of downtown Missoula.

I went with a friend several months ago. There was a great selection of vendors--seemed like well over 50 just on the northern end by the rail depot. Look for Dixon Melons, if you want a Missoula market staple focused on melons. Every vendor seemed to have fresh product. It's just what you'd expect in a farmer's market.

Visiting from Los Angeles. Had a great morning at the local farmer's market. Discovered Nature's Choice triple berry blast juice! So delicious and only $4 bucks!

TONS of fresh local produce available here. Very friendly people with lots of entertainment too. A few food trucks are there too.

Each time my wife and I go to Missoula, we plan our itinerary to include the farmer's market on Saturdays. Actually, there are three separate markets down the length of North Higgins Ave. The Missoula Farmer's Market is at the far north end and features mostly fresh produce and fresh baked goods. We always have to make a decision about what fresh sweet rolls we want to go with our coffee. Then we are impressed as we walk past some of the best looking produce you have seen. The city has a large community of Viet Nam Hmong people who are excellent gardeners. A couple blocks away is the People's Artists Market that features crafts of local people. The third market is down by the river below the Higgins bridge. Here you will find all kinds of cooked food, native plants, entertainment and baked goods. We usually time it so that we get here closer to noon so that we can buy lunch from one of the venders. Plan to spend the morning walking through all three markets.

The farmers market it was great! There’s all kinds of amazing artisans, jewelry makers, honey makers leather crafters ,Pottery makers, not to mention local boysenberry jam, also of course great fruit and vegetables and things that you might need to buy while your visiting Missoula!

The variety of food, the friendly vendors and neighbors are just a great way to spend the morning in the sunshine with some coffee and a danish.

Going to Missoula Farmer's Market is always a pleasure. Pick up organically grown produce and make a salad to eat along side the Clark Fork River. Or pick up some new earrings at the craft fair along the way in downtown Missoula. A lovely walk and beautiful flowers are always available.

Fantastic place to get everything you need in terms of vegetables and not only. Fresh, organic and lots to choose from.

Both of the farmers markets in Missoula offer an excellent array of fresh vegetables, flowers and locally raised meat. The markets also act as a large social event as it is impossible to shop them without running into friends and acquaintances! That is both the beauty and the limitation to shopping. Don't miss these markets; go for the full experience and be patient with those reacquainting in the isles!

As a native Montanan and a seven-year resident of Missoula, the Farmer's Market is a weekend tradition for me, my wife and our now one-year-old son. Once it starts in May, unless we are out of town, you can find us walking the sidewalks and paths of downtown Missoula every Saturday until it ends in the fall. Great produce, food and you are almost guaranteed to see someone you know (Cheers, anyone?). Also, local live music and sunny weather make the MFM a great place to meet up with friends on the weekend and a relaxing way to start your Saturday.

Let's start this off by saying that I've never understood the culture in this town. I don't hike the "M", don't go to any of the 18,000 coffee/crumpet shops here, don't drive a Subaru Outback, nor do I ever want to. But this isn't supposed to be a rant about Missoula, it's supposed to be a review of the farmers market, so here we go...
IT'S A FARMERS MARKET!
They have radishes, turnips, herbs and spices.
They have corn (sometimes) homemade soaps, wild game meat, and coffee.
They have purses (yes purses) cheese curds, goat milk, and candles.
There are many eccentric people there, people carrying their babies on their backs (who probably hike the "M" afterwards) people carrying their babies in little slings on the front, hell, there's probably some people hauling their babies around in wicker baskets.
There's a lot of stuff going on there, a lot of "different" people to see, but bottom line IT'S A FARMERS MARKET.
Don't expect anything special, don't expect to have an insane, mind changing experience. Buy some cheese curds, eat something that you could have made at home for much cheaper. If you brought your kids, take them to the carousel (take them out of your strange little backpack first.)
But remember, and I'm going to say this again just in case you weren't listening before...
IT'S JUST A FARMERS MARKET, IT'S NOTHING SPECIAL!!!

Not stacked in straight little rows - you meander through twists. Right near the river. Worth going to. As a traveler I count this farmers Market as a better than average FM.

Oh, it's so wonderful when the market opens. The very best fruits, vegetables, plants, flowers, jams and jellies, etc. etc. etc.! Take your camera, the photo ops are amazing. Missoula has one of the best farmer's market in the country. And under the bridge at the other end of downtown Higgins is another market. Go to both.

We are from the east coast and stopped in at this Farmers Market because we had some time before our flight home. This had more variety than any markets we've attended at home. Great location with very friendly people. A really nice variety of vendors. We loved the bloody marys and local baked goods. It just seems like a great weekend activity for families in the area.

I had alot of fun and everything was very good and looked and tasted appetizing. Everyone was nice and outgoing, also very knowlegable about the product they sold.

I love going to the farmers market during the summer, getting fresh vegetables, buying plants and looking at the homemade crafts.

At the end of Higgins Avenue, by the 4 x's, close to the railroad tracks. Smaller than the Clark Fork Farmers Market, but has just as much variety and good produce. It is very local and everyone is friendly and helpful.

July 30, 2016 was my first time going to the farmer's market near Caras Park. I was blown away by the size of it. It was bigger and better than the farmer's market near where I live. I didn't have the time to see all of it but what I saw was amazing. The smells from the food was great and great prices on all the products for sale. Even the prices of the huckleberries was very reasonable. It is a must do while in Missoula.

Thoroughly enjoyed the vibe at this farmer's market. Live music, friendly people, an assortment of fresh fruits, veges, flowers, foods and drinks.

What a great way to spend a Saturday morning! Fresh cherries, lettuce, veggies galore. All so fresh and many items are organic. Also bought some grass fed beef that was delicious.

Very small market. There wasn’t a lot of variety but for the vendors that were there , there was a nice variety. I did get some delicious muffins there.

I lived in Missoula from August 1997-August 2000. I still have lots of friends who live there. One of my FAVORITE things to do in the summer, was go to the Farmer's Market! Tons of fresh fruits and vegetables to choose from, flowers, baked goods, artists, jewelers, and more, more, more! I can virtually guarantee you'll enjoy yourself! :)

They have wonderful produce and starter plants for gardening. I recommend when the market opens that you attend it's got all the plants and veggies any heart desires.

Every Saturday morning I try to go to farmers market in downtown Missoula. I always love the fresh produce whether it is vegetables or fruit. It is always fresh. Of course I also like the fresh baked goods and locally made crafts. What a good place to find gifts. There are also local musicians playing various instruments and singing. What a lot of good singing.

I enjoy buying local and go a few times a year when certain things are in season. The vendors are great and we absolutely love the balloon guy Morgan :-)

This market has been around for years and it is a great local tradition. Start with a pastry and coffee or chai down by the XXXs then stroll through the Farmers Market to get fresh produce and flowers. If you are in the mood amble over to the next block to see local crafts. A nice start to your weekend!

This is such a great Farmer's Market! If we had not been traveling through, we could have/would have purchased so much more. The Market was diverse with a variety of fresh produce. We are not cantaloupe fans; however, we purchased one and it was the best as was the watermelon! The music was wonderful. It truly was a wonderful experience...nice to see so many families enjoying the morning!

Sprin, summer, and fall must visit. Great selection of fresh produce, cut flowers, and pastries. It’s a must see on Saturday mornings. And just down the street are outdoor craft market and Caras Market for more fresh produce. Large contingent of Hmong producers from local truck farms.

The market is wonderful. Numerous vendors proudly show and sell their garden wares. Close by is the Clark Fork River Market, with all kinds of wares available. Both markets are fun as can be, filled with happy people and old friends meeting and greeting. Downtown Missoula (where the markets are) is a lively, historic and beautiful location. If you are visiting Montana in the summer and early fall, a Saturday morning at the market is a must!

This was a great experience for us. We saw fruits and vegetables we knew nothing about and rushed home to investigate their origins and uses. The fresh produce is awesome and there is plenty of good food and music to enjoy at the same time. Definitely will go back.

Best farmers market I have been to in a while. All the fruit and vegetables looked good and fresh and the prices were great. We also got sour dough bread from Amy and kettle corn both were very good!

I have been to many Farmers Markets, all around the country and this one has the others beat, hands down, as the best, ever. It is not just the number of vendors but is also the number of visitors, the quality of and unique items for sale, the beautiful views, trains to watch go by, AND...live music as well. What an incredible asset to have such a wonderful place to buy local and fresh produce, baked goods and so much more!

We go to the farmers markets whenever we travel and this one is by far the absolute best.
Go early and grab a coffee and something savory and something sweet, there’s plenty to choose from. Try and score a small table as you have breakfast and take in the live music.
Next go shopping for your week’s worth of fruits and veggies. I’ve never seen more beautiful produce. This is a great way to spend a Saturday morning and get some shopping done. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to return.

The Missoula Farmers' Market began several decades ago to offer fresh, local produce to the community at a reasonable price. The market remains very popular and has expanded to include baked and breakfast foods, steaming coffee drinks and other treats. Still not crowded and so much fun.

There are 3 markets to visit on Saturdays--the Missoula Farmer's Market at the end of Higgins street (by the three giant red X's); the Clark Fork Market; and between the two, the People's Market. Each has something special to offer. Baked goods of all kinds, huckleberries, coffee, Dixon melons in the late summer, and apples in the fall. Local veggies of all kinds make for a great weekly shopping experience. People watching is my favorite part of the market. The Clark Fork, by the river offer music and tables to sit at, as well as selling meat and fish. The People's market brings local artists selling leather goods, photography, jewelry, clothing, soaps--mixed in with funky, eclectic Missoula items. Generally the markets run May through October. Missoula at it's finest!

We were fortunate enough to be staying in Missoula on a Saturday. We knew a must was to visit the market. The owners of the B&B we were staying in helped us to find it and told us about the craft market too.
We were amazed with the range of fresh fruit and vegetables. Nothing like the monotonous fare we get in UK supermarkets. We wish we'd stayed self catering somewhere so we could buy plenty.
The craft market was also excellent and we bought some unique items. This market is a short walk up the main street.
Parking was also easy and free at the multi-storey right by the bridge.
We wish we had something like this near home.

They have baked goods and tons of wonderful fresh produce, gorgeous melons, cheese and farm raised beef, lamb, etc
Highly recommend planning this for s Saturday morning

Very impressed with the wide selection of preserves, veggies and local fruits offered at the market, along with mouth-watering assortment of baked goods. Enjoyed a flavorful coffee and treat while listening to some music, before purchasing some fruit and veggies to nibble on while travelling.

Relax and enjoy a beautiful Saturday morning while selecting beautiful produce. The vendors are friendly and do a fabulous job presenting their products in pleasing displays. Early you can pick up fresh spring vegetables, later all the garden traditions and sweet fruits as well. Just down the block is the artisan craft sale where you can find jewelry to pottery or furniture. Antiques and oils, candles or leather all kinds of opportunities are here for eclectic tastes.

The market's farmers had prices lower than those found at roadside stands in the countryside, and a woman at one stall even sold gluten-free breads and pastries. No matter your culinary eccentricities or preferences, you should be satisfied here.

I am not an expert on farmers markets, however, I would have to rate this one of the best I've attended. Wonderful produce everywhere, competitive prices, delicious breads, jams, pastries, and beautiful flowers. I'm glad we'll be in the area for another weekend so I can attend again and buy more. Also the People's Artists Market is just a few blocks away and they have wonderful artists displaying and selling their crafts….a wonderful way to spend a Saturday morning.

Great market! Filled with beautiful produce and other essentials. We even found huckleberries! Highly recommend visiting for your produce.
What a great market that has so much to choose from. Fun to just walk around and see the talented vendors come out with their wares, have something to eat and people watch. The food vendors had great choices of food and plenty of honey, jam, fresh baked goods, drinks to try. It was pretty crowded though so come early. Don’t miss it.
