Popped in one Sat morning in July. This is a small volunteer run museum, with a broad range of personal filed gear and artefacts.
They have a couple of donated jeeps and even a ferret armoured car, though don't expect Bovington.
I like the fact that its pretty old school; stuff to look at, read and pick up and people to talk to.

Lots of very nice people, spent 2 hours looking and chatting and was sorry to leave.

More than happy to recommend

A good way to experience the history of the Military especially if any family members served in the Military

Visited the museum and was promptly greeted by a Veteran. He referred us to a
Korean War Vet Named Jim who led us on our tour. Learned so much from Jim about all of the wars. Jim is
a wealth of knowledge. So much to see and experience. Highly recommend this Museum as a side trip. Took us about an hour and a half to see everything.

My husband and I spent a couple of hours in this place which has a lot to see including some military vehicles. We did miss the guided tour but were fine exploring on our own.

By Frank d |

This place is incredible. I don't know how they have collected some of these things they have here. You basically have items from every war the USA has been involved in including two Civil War. It would take days to seriously look at and appreciate all that's displayed here. DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE !!!

By mayinfl |

We just happened to spot this place while driving in the vicinity one morning during Veteran's Day weekend. We were visiting from Jacksonville for the long weekend. We decided to check it out & we were overwhelmed by the items inside.

Lots of memorabilia. Lots of stuff to read. Since I am retired Navy & my sweetie is retired civil service, this placed peaked our interest. We spent at least 2 hours in there (& could've easily stayed longer). Very quaint inside & staff are able to help if there are any questions.

There's a small entry fee but since this is a non-profit place, we ended up donating in the box by the door before we left.

We will visit again when we are in the area.

Had a few hours to spare and decided to take my 10 year old to this museum. It was smaller than expected but it has many cool military displays from different period. My boy loved it.

With random rain storms, decided to check this museum out. Absolutely amazing! Would definitely recommend.

We spent a couple hours in this well-curated museum. Its collection spanned several wars impacting the United States of America and included artifacts from those conflicts (weapons, uniforms, letters, etc) as well as military relics from other countries.
The museum was clean and well-organized. It also included a substantial library of books and documents on war. There is an eclectic museum gift shop for those seeking souvenirs.
While small, the Museum of Military History does not disappoint history buffs and those wanting to discover more about military history.
We took my Dad for his 85th birthday and we all enjoyed our visit!

Clean, well lit, and extremely informative. This military museum has something for everyone interested in our history or wars and military service. From the American Revolution to the modern wars on Terrorism, this museum is sure to give you facts, pictures, and displays enough to have remind you why we are the "Land of the Free". The museum also has a display of military vehicles and personalized tanks, many there for you to touch and take pictures in. A must see if you are interested in the not so softer side of our country's history.

This is a small museum touching on all wars with costumed examples of dress and artifacts from each period. I was most interested in the Indian motorcycle on display because it was just like the one my father rode in World War II. There was a display on the role of women in the service and a corner display recognizing the role of K-9s when i was there in March 2014.

My husband I went with our 16 & 9 year old. It’s was surprisingly very cool and informative experience. We are not a military savvy family however it was a great experience a lot more to offer when you pass the double doors. Something affordable, fun and quick to do. Our children thanked us at the end, I’m sure it’s something they will remember and be more understanding and grateful to the scarafice these heroes make.

Met an Australian lady and her husband who run this museum. Nice exhibits. They sell bricks and you can order a small paperweight type replica when you buy one. I support all Veteran run things I see and that is why I bought the brick. Really worth visiting.

Guide was in military, very interesting, good for location in Orlando, had info from Civil War, WWI,WWII, Korean War, Viet Nam War & 911

By LPSUNSHINE |

Just happened upon this little museum. Stopped and was quite surprised when we got inside. There is a $7 admission fee, but we'll worth it especially if you like military history.

Museum covers from civil war on up. They have very nice displays for each era. There are several military jeeps that you (or the kids) can sit in. There is a reading library and places to sit and read books.

We found it very interesting and worth a visit

I truly enjoyed taking my son and his friend to this museum. There is a lot of love put into this place. It was very nice to see such a fine collection of military memorabilia. The price is perfect and we spent about an hour there. Parking free and plentiful. I enjoyed seeing the younger kids enjoy this. As a veteran myself, it was a trip down memory lane. I hope more people will patronize this place so it can stay up and running.

By Roger N |

A well laid out museum of American military history. A plan is given to visitors so that you follow through the exhibits in the right order. The exhibits are in excellent condition, well displayed and lit, and on my visit, which was a Saturday, there were lots of museum volunteers on hand to give further explanations, if required.

By posionone |

The museum is great place to see authentic items. Has things you do not normally see. All items are relative to the time period. Great staff to answer all questions and conversation with. Highly recommend a visit.

By tonyzuk9 |

I love the history. The changes from the revolution to the present uniforms weapons military equipment. Being a vet I received a discount and I'll go back again.

By PushingUpDaisies |

My husband and I came across this museum. It's not very big but has a wide variety of artifacts, memorabilia, planes and more. The staff there was very personable and friendly, willing to talk about anything museum related, history related or flying related. Well worth the $10.

By rescueagreyhound |

Thank you to the kind and informative staff. Everyone should give the Museum of Military History a stop by. A lot of historical firearms, exhibits, vehicles, model airplanes and ships. Something for everyone. The museum is growing but lots to see. If you have some time please stop in. Admission is $7.00 for general public, discounts for veterans and kids.

By Leo M |

This is a relatively new museum and growing. It has vehicles, weapons, uniforms etc. Well done and informative.

We live in the area and pass it all the time. We finally stopped in and were pleasantly surprised. It is a nice relaxed, informative museum and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.

By Árni S |

Had the family (3 ladys) drop me off and go shoping while I spent about 2 1/2 hrs at the museum. Not a native and from non military nation I gained information and visual stimulation from all the memorabilia on display.

And the staff, hard to give less than 4.0 gpa during my visit. Will be back on my next visit to the USA

Thank you Frank and your colleques for your sevice.

A well-laid out museum with separate sections for each of the (many) wars in which the US has been involved. Lots of genuine articles, weapons, uniforms (inc those of enemy combatants) models, photos, diagrams, notes. Old ‘LIFE’ magazines from during WWII. Much genuine military surplus to buy also medals, badges, patches. If you take your time to examine everything, you’ll be here for a while. Pretty inexpensive.

By lloyd m |

this is a small museum run by vets. personal and a great experience just a quiet memorial to the vets

By Pamela D |

Astonishing with a lot of history indeed, surprising to see the use of lime and salt use for the fallen soldiers - it corresponds culturally, wow - closer than you can think…,, would visit again

By Suzel C |

Just visited this museum. It’s on the smaller side, but it has a wonderful collection of military memorabilia. Very educational and worth a visit.

By KathytheRev |

Very nicely put together museum. I was impressed with the variety of things they had on display, and there is a really nice library if you want to read up on something special. There are artifacts for sale in the front that are all on consignment so there is a bit of hodgepodge feel to it. I really enjoy what they had to offer. Be aware that WAZE gave me incorrect directions twice before actually being correct.

By Kathy A |

An exceptional facility!! The displays were well laid out and very informative. The library was an added bonus and we wished we would have had more time to spend there. We understand they had many more items in storage and we would have liked to have seen them on display. The staff was very knowledgeable which added to the experience-keep up the great work!!

By KRB23 |

Really enjoyed a couple of hours browsing around the exhibits on a cold and wet January day. There is information covering the range from the Seminole Wars to Iraq with lots about WW2, Korea and Vietnam. Well worth a visit and great value for moey - it was only $7 entry.

By Babsstockport |

This is nicely laid out and starts with the American Civil War and goes right up to the Korean War and Vietnam. It has lots of interesting exhibits and uniforms and is extremely interesting to visit if you are interested in military history.

By michaelt4242014 |

Very nice museum in the Orlando area. Nice side trip for a few hours. Very affordable and good content.

By Zee S |

Really neat and defiantly a family place to hit. Endless education and a amazing collection of memorabilia

By Anu K |

for people who like history, nice place as it covers many wars. civil war, korean war, world war I and II, war with iran, etc

By P2B12 |

Must admit, this museum exceeded my expectations. Enjoyed the displays and had quite a bit of memorabilia. Great place to wander indoors on a chilly day.
I understand they're expanding & we'll come back to check it out.
Ps. They're always looking for donations & loans of militaria.

By Cherylbzz |

Interesting museum, stated with a delightful receptionist, from the civil war( small area) to now. Easy parking, reasonable fee and a
Different idea for the family to learn things about the different wars. An interpreter was conducting a tour throughout the museum that sounded interesting.

By Giaro88 |

Came across this museum out of curiosity since it was next to our hotel so we decided to check it out and we were all very impressed with how well put together and detailed everything was. our tour personnel, who is actually a war veteran, did a fantastic job explaining and answering questions, very knowledgeable and patient. very cool artifacts in this museum and I give a higher respect to those who have gone through these wars and current ones! thank you for your service! definitely recommend this place for anyone with military liking or any veteran.

By DOC_SGM |

Being retired military, I found this museum to be very well done and providing a solid representation of our fighting force. Well worth the time spent.

By LadyK1040 |

Pleasure visiting the Museum of Military History and learning from the staff and cohorts. The exhibits were well documented and the significance of artifacts is presented with thorough historical timelines, media, library etc.
I truly enjoyed how the exhibits were organized in a myriad of interesting themes. The Buffalo Soldier Exhibit was most comprehensive.
The Tributes to those who served and sacrificed were extremely dignified and reminds one to never forget those who served and to learn from our history.
Go for an informative thought provoking afternoon.

By Spydermike1313 |

If you know History or need a lesson in History, this is the place...I was very Impressed with what they had to show..

By M C |

Lots of contributed items to view. We were able to get a tour which was very informative. We left with a better perspective and understanding of history from a military standpoint. Definitely recommend. The dog tags that are made right there in museum at a cost of $5 dollars is well worth it. If you do plan on getting one make sure you know your blood type or that of your kids. 2 thumbs up!

By Zealouzone |

It's small but with a lot of information. A great deal of war items from different wars. Good pictures and staff to answer any questions. Suggest you take time in each room as there is a lot of information. A good military history introduction to the childern. My daughter enjoyed sitting in the vehicles. We got original dog tags as well.

By SuncoastTravelers |

We brought the kids to go thru the museum and they really enjoyed it. I skipped the tour guide at first, but ended up listening to him a bit later and highly recommend it! Yes, you can get a lot by going thru yourself, but the guide was fun and informative and actually captured the interest of 4 boys aged 8-11! Well done, sir!

Tip: We bought a Groupon and saved big! <$5 each.

By DessertsDivaFL |

I promised the Sgt that I would write a review so others would know what a great place this is.

For a minimal entry charge ($7 at the most per person but you'll probably end up paying $5 if you are a student, veteran or worked for the military) you'll see some great pictures, military uniforms from days gone by, equipment, vehicles and so much more.

They have a quaint gift shop area where you can find some great things.

Set aside at least an hour to go through it. You'll enjoy it!

By Tommy G |

For the price this is one of the best museums I have seen. All the uniforms weapons and some vehicles of all the wars for our revolution to modern day!

By copywriter |

the best military museum to visit in kissimmee and orlando,fl
you will learn about the military like the marines, army, navy and the air force, whatever services you where in
you will learn something, and will bring back the times when you where in the service and you will come back again

By Sweaver281 |

Visited the museum with my husband while in Florida! My husband got in for free since he is in the military, and I only had to pay $7. My husband and I are history buffs so this was interesting for us. I was surprised with all the information and artifacts that were in the museum. Great places for those looking for something different, education, or on a rainy day!

By John R K |

The US military history is rich and this collection provides an interesting sample. Unfortunately the collection is random, sparsely documented and randomly arranged. The museum provides a broad picture of the military but the story is not evident - go if you have time to spare.

By Lisa T |

Nice collection but seems like a garage sale hodge podge of stuff. I think it was cool that some items were signed by those that served in those wars.

By tina32Devon |

We found the museum very interesting and as non US citizens it was good to learn more . Well worth a visit.

By Bill H |

A great place to spend 1 hour or a afternoon visiting the museum. The staff is very good to explain the different exhibits.

By Maren Z |

With interest in history, and comming from Europe, that was a great place to see a lot of original things, some you can even purchase in the gift shop.
We learned some new things to.

By Richard K |

Great exhibits and friendly atmosphere. You can spend 2 hours and still not see everything. Huge library with a depth and breadth of historical books not usually seen in a museum of this size.

By esm321 |

If you are in to military, or history, it's worth a stop. There are a lot of resources, and a lot of interesting items to see. I really enjoyed seeing the collection of guns, bayonets, and the old uniforms. Definitely would have spent more time sans toddler.

Masks are optional, but we wore ours.

By Laura L |

A great place to travel through the history of U.S. military engagements! Unique pieces, local connections and even some hands-on for the kids!

By Dream75969 |

truly a great experience covering all military units dating back to the civil war. An inexpensive worthwhile experience especially for veterans..

By Paulo M |

The museum has only a few armored and military utility vehicles, besides a variety of memorabilia and scale models. It has a library too

It is an interesting option for a quick stop (1-2 hours)

By Gator58 |

We enjoy history and were so surprised at the amount of military history in this building. Very well laid out in historical timeline all with donated memorabilia from mostly the local community. The docents were very knowledgeable and helpful and there was so much to read, including donated war trophy's that included written history from the hero. There is also a library that includes many eras of military history.

By thedipman |

a great way to spend the day .plenty of history and vintage planes . step back in time and see what we must fight to protect at all cost

By sugar2433 |

This was my first visit to the Museum of Military History. My family and i enjoyed our tour. It was fun to visit with my daughters. I am a veteran and my one daughter just finished basic training. It was nice to see military history with a new soldier : )

By Ambo Greaves |

Lots of artefacts and well presented information with knowledgeable curators. Interesting to people of all ages and nationalities.

By ND F |

Not a huge government run museum. Rather, a group of dedicated volunteers have put together a pretty good history of war involving the U.S.A. From the war of 1812, the Civil War, WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam and more current engagements such as Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom. Pretty good displays and story boards as well as a large reference museum on all things military. You’d need about 1.5 hours to make your way through. Admission was reasonable ($14 for an adult, discounts for seniors/veterans). Everyone was helpful in terms of explanations and if you had questions.

By William c |

Tour of the facility was offered by Ed which we accepted. He was a most entertaining story teller which certainly made the exhibits mean much more. The building is not huge but the exhibits are interesting and I found the visit worthwhile.

By Desiree S |

Very friendly check in, offered a lot of information before we even entered. Good knowledge of all the "employee's", tons of real equipment provided by former military. Very interesting even or specially for our 5 year old. You can try on helmets, jackets, backpacks out of a small box. You can take pictures of everything.

By Cathy20155280 |

Meh, if war fascinates you this is the place to be I guess. I thought it was expensive. However, my grandsons (13 & 9) were quite engaged. Mostly it made me sad to think of all those young lives lost. War should t be glorified.

By Lori S |

This was an authentic, chronologically organized museum. We enjoyed the exhibits and most of all our guide Al. He was funny, knowledgeable and really connected with us. He brought some real value to the experience. Great job Al.
Lori

By DnSudds D |

We were greeted with a friendly hello & given the option to self tour or use the local docent, Al. We had Al guide us through. He was very entertaining. People joined in during the guided history and when he was done we had the opportunity to go back and take a closer look at the donated items. They are a single story, non-profit museum and Al is a volunteer. For it's small size there is a lot of interesting pieces to keep you engaged if you like military history.

By Michael S |

This is a great place to visit, I go every year and always call in. Great exhibits and the veterans are very knowlagable,

By Kendra L |

Arrived right at opening, we were the only people there for 30 mins. Infirmative displays, many relics. Great for war history buffs.

By Jennifer T |

Went here for the first time with my 14 year old history loving son… he loved it! The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. The exhibits were well laid out and interesting. Would recommend!

By Chrissy1113 |

An awesome museum of military memorabilia
You can spend hours reading, listening to videos and exploring each display

By jb1815 |

This is not the biggest museum in the world but it is engaging and well organised. The chronological presentation made it easier to consider the changes wrought by technology and notvjust in weaponry but clothing and accessories too.

By Mary T |

At his is about Zlibert Square and the Hall of Presidents My family served in every war from the Revolutionary War, The Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korea and Desert Storm and we still have family members in uniform. It is with enormous American pride that I can tell the youngsters in my family that our family saved the nation from the ruthless and greedy King of England and we became the free nation the whole world wants to be like. We electe our President so it is vitally important to excercise your right to keep our freedom and vote for who sits in the Oval Office. This is one of the reasons I support the Hall of Presidents. This is an important to take your children to see how our free a Republic works and why America survives as the free nation on Earth that everyone want to be like. American fought for and won our freedom from a greedy King but we cannot take "freedom" for granted. We must learn who wants to be our Presidents before we vote so we know their military record. I am from an American military family so serving our nation and taking the Olathe to preserve, protect and defend America is vitally I,port ant to keep America free from harm by those who would cause us harm or try to destroy Americans. Please, do take your family to The Hall of Presidents! I wrote "Tales for the Trail From England to America" to show the people where we came from and how America beat a greedy a king and became the freest nation on earth. The United States of America is protected by Americans just like every American that comes to Disney World and Epcot and see what the genius of Walt Disney lasts and lasts and will for generations into the future and the reason is our story of freedom and liberty is uniquely American and it is shown in Liberty Square. every day. Please take your family to Disney world and show them what American liberty and genius look like. I did not stay at a hotel on this trip but with friends in Orlando.

By shinyburlingtonON |

We found this small museum close to our timeshare on a rainy day.
The museum focuses on all things about wars fought by Americans. The first small focus was on the SEMINOLE- BLACK War against Governor ANDREW JACKSON who later became the US President.
There is a large display of Civil War uniforms from both sides. When grey cloth was in short supply the Confederacy used butternut brown. Often good northern shoes were stolen by confederate soldiers. Sharpshooters wore a forest green coat for camouflage. Highlighted are the black soldiers of the Union Army.
WWI highlights the aviator. WWII has a great display of the TUSKEGEE AIRMEN who escorted the bomber brigades. The German uniforms and equipment are interesting. A German officer sits in a camouflaged vehicle.
The Vietnam War shows examples of the Cu Chi Tunnels and female officers.
Current conflicts and women’s roles in the military are highlighted. A very informative few hours.

By mcfitzsatx |

I highly recommend this great museum for any veteran and their family. Great displays, knowledgeable guides, and free parking. Easy location, too.

By Bobby F |

Very good cross section of military history from the Buffalo Soldiers until today. Limited but good displays. Friendly staff and reasonably prices. Veterans and their families would definitely enjoy a tour. Certainly recommended if you are in the area.

By Leonard's Liasons |

Loved this place. It was a timeline set up, so you get to walk through history. Front desk was nice. They give military and veterans discounts as well. I like the fact that it had the men stuff displayed for men to enjoy, but they also had what wives and girlfriends or the men would do. Especially loved the silk postcards. If you have time read some of the letters, but be warned, they can bring a tear to your eye.
They offer things you can buy
And they are also planning and expansion next year. Go by and see it. If you are a person who loves military history, this will give you a lot of info.

By John O |

Museum has verity of historical military items, but would benefit from bigger premises to house larger items such as a huey helicopter or a sherman tank.

By Nigel S |

A great place and well organized for the size of the building. It takes you from the civil war through to the Middle East war. So many little things that you don’t normally get to see. Amazing assortment of guns and memorabilia donated from all over the world. Some of the WW2 letters were very personal and touching. I have never seen or even knew about the hand sewn letters sent from loved ones to their family members serving abroad. You can dress up in some of their gear which is on hand for photographs. They even have some vehicles in the display too. Not expensive to get in and great value for the money.

By lookforward2007 |

It was simple to enter. The people were friendly and very well informed. The place had a lot to see. Worth the price.

By Andrew H |

Wasnt very big but they had a ton of amazing artifacts from several war periods. This museum is a great place to check out especially during those stormy days. If your active duty military you get in free but even on the high end of the spectrum adult tickets are only $7 so in my opinion is worth the stop.

By Peter R |

We have visited this museum many times over the years. We enjoy seeing how it is growing and with the new artifacts and displays they have every year. this year we had a personal tour with a gentleman that served in the Vietnam War. My son being a history buff, really enjoyed the personal attention and liked that he could ask questions to someone who actually lived it. We always make sure this is a stop while we are on vacation and you should too!

By Thomas2000040 |

This not-so-hidden gem is smack on the 192 just outside Kissimee city limits.

They have a range of war exhibits from the civil war all the way up to the Iraq war via both world wars, Korea and Vietnam++

Very much worth a visit when in the area if intersted in war history and real wartime artefacts.

Friendly and helpful staff at entrance and just a low cover price of 7 USD for adults and 5 for the children and students.

By Deb S |

Our family enjoyed walking through all of the displays presented in chronological order through the years of the U.S. Military. A special favorite was the album of letters visitors can actually look through. A guided tour is available, but we preferred to tour ourselves. The exhibits are well explained. We were happy to see African Americans and women were represented, and appreciated seeing the many artifacts.

By sarahlN5955EK |

The donated articles and displays are very interesting. Our tour guide Al was phenomenal as he recounted all military conflicts our country was involved in while also correcting some recorded fallacies of familiar historical events. Were there 2 hours. Well worth the admission price and a generous donation to Al for his free, energetic, and thorough tour.

By The medic of business |

Well laid out, fun, and educational. I recommend. It’s was $7.00 for entry. We spend a little over an hour here.

By cleanteeth2018 |

If you have a true interest in learning about the US activity in every war, then you will appreciate this museum. There is a section on each of the wars with lots of information and and a very good collection of items from that war. Plan on about 2 hours there to look through it all. If the military and war is not "your thing", you may want to spend your time somewhere else.

By MARYLOUESSEX |

We just happened upon this museum on our way back to the airport, we are so glad we did. The story of the military history is told in pictures & words & there are veterans on hand to answer any questions you may have. While we were there a 100 year old veterans was attending a celebration the museum they have prepared for him, very nice. Very interesting to see a different country on conflict.

By loric386 |

My friend wanted to visit, I wasn't excited about. I was so surprised on how professional and clean and how many items were displayed. Excellent place to review war history. People working there were super friendly. So glad we went, really enjoyed.

By Nina Queen Hyena |

pretty good museum. and im not a fan of military nor history & i thought it was a well put together little edutainment

By drewfer16 |

I would recommend a visit to this museum, small and compact, lots of military history on view.intend to go back in 2016 and donate old world war pay books and ration coupons.the veterans are full of information and a pleasure to talk to

By Pollyanna26 |

It's a relatively small museum, but has lots of interesting exhibits. There are military jeeps and uniforms and helmets and other historical items. Several mannequins wearing military uniforms. We enjoyed the visit.

By pearl6932 |

We are not military people but found the museum interesting, informative and well looked after. Staff was friendly and eager to answer questions.

By Figment0337 |

Compact and very interesting museum with lots of exhibits to look at. Also excellent information given by Al who came round with us and talked us through many of the exhibits and items on display, he was fantastic. A very enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours

By Judi O |

Our visit included three generations including grandsons ages 9-17. Displays kept the boys interested for at least an hour.

By BigMac1949 |

Both my wife and I are veterans and we decided to stop in after our lunch in Celebration. We are so glad we did. It's a wonderful little museum packed with historical items that provides an interesting and unique insight into our military history since the Civil War. You can be in and out in 30 minutes or less but it's well worth an hour or two and the admission price is less than the cost of an ice cream cone. Add it to your list of must dos.

By Nancy B |

Small museum, but really worth the visit. Does not take a long time to see the exhibits, but very well done. Covers not only WWI thru Afganistan, but also goes ba h to Seminole Wars, & Civil War. All items were donated by veterans & their families. Would not recommend for little children, but is wheelchair accessible

By funtime4430 |

we enjoyed the visit and found it very informative. It is nice to see how the military has changed through the years. Having served during and after the Viet Nan action it brought back a lot of memories. The staff were very interested in any and all you had is ay about serving no matter which branch of service you were in

By Devon J |

Four seniors went here one morning as the villa is not far from here always passed it on our many previous stays in Kissimmee but first time for us this year and so glad we went we had a discount on the senior price which is a good price for what we would pay in England and I am sure costs a lot for it’s up keep not huge inside but so much too see and well stocked with exhibits and laid out in good chronological order also many vehicles guns uniforms photographs and videos spent a good 2 hours here pleasant and dedicated staff who were all veterans

By Pauline B |

Went along with my father in law who had served in the Navy during the Second World War. Though very emotional, I encourage tourists to go and take a look. Have tissues ready if you are taking a veteran along.

By Clark D |

Lots of guns and uniforms. A couple vehicles, no tanks, planes. Written material seemed thorough.
Not much on Revolution, not a surprise perhaps since Florida not much involved.
"Military History" a big subject to cover, this place not particularly unique. A hard subject to do remarkably given resources of armed services and governments

By DawnyM73 |

On arrival we found the staff particularly Victor most friendly and helpful . The exhibits were well presented and broken into war/conflict categories, my particular interest being WW2 and Vietnam. We engaged in conversation about military vehicles and about the American forces stationed in Ireland in WW2.
They have an extensive library for those wanting to do any kind of research. This place is well worth a visit and has not got the usual stuffy museum atmosphere especially with the vehicles, not behind glass or cordoned ropes.
Parking is p,Enrique and at $7 per person it was more than acceptable. Will definitely be returning.

By Ziegpj |

I went with a group of senior citizens and toured the museum from top to bottom. Some very interesting displays, some bringing back military-related memories, even for this non-veteran. It was a good experience, overseen and managed by a determined local veterans organization.

By James B |

My wife and I visited using a Groupon. The place has so much information and some wonderful exhibits. You are encourage to take as many pictures as possible. It does not seem very big inside, but it has so much to offer. Additionally, nearly every emotion is felt as you journey through and read the history of the military. Everyone should go!

Went there with my husband and 8 year old son. The museum is quite small but very interesting. It takes you back in time in a quite unique way. Every war has it´s own small room. First there is a circle of honor if you may call it so. Where you think of all the men a women that do not come home from war. Very touching. You start at exhibition on war against terrorism that is of course ongoing. The Vietnamese war, WW1, WW2, Korean war etc. Very educating. You can see uniforms and all kinds of small items from each war. (sorry about my english). Our son LOVED it. This is something you can´t miss.

As a uk navy veteran I thought this was a really interesting place. Discount for veterans and all the staff are full of info if you want it. Particularly liked the American civil war stuff.

By Amber M |

Found this on groupon. It is on the smaller side, but a nice display of all the wars. A quick way to kill some time if you are into military history.

A nice little gem if you like military history. Good for an hour. The cost is $7.00 which is not that high for what you get to see. Some vehicles but mostly models or smaller items.

By katherinem105 |

These guys have a lot of memorabilia. There are even vehicles and lots of pictures chronicling the wars. If you are a military buff, than this is the place to visit. Very friendly staff.

By BillCarraway |

Starting with the Buffalo Soldiers through modern day conflicts history of military is covered. Very nice artifacts all through the museum. Great for adults and kids. Everything from authentic uniforms to real jeeps. Even uniforms and artifacts from Germans WWII. Highly recommend.

By Mare P |

If you are military, there is a discount. If you are a senior citizen there is a discount. The staff was very polite and helpful. The museum is not overtly large, but the displays were incredibly detailed. Small scale battle scenes were unbelievably detailed. Very. Detailed. Each section/area had a tremendous amount of information in many different forms of media (from physical to video). They also have memorabilia for sale that is authentic! Highly recommend!

By travelbug41563 |

Went with a large military group. The museum had no problem accommodating a large group. This museum is well set up & our tour guide was excellent! Worth going for a visit.

By Terje H |

Small, but good and interesting.
Got a lot of good info from the staff there.

Recommend to stop by to take a look.

Family of 4 from Norway.

By Sheryl G |

Nice way to spend 45 mins taking in the memorabilia; an old working phone used out in the field, real jeeps on display. A motorcycle as well was on display. Would have like to see some old war flags, and hope some get donated. Staff very nice.

While this is a small museum it was just packed with artifacts. There was a docent who gave a guided tour that lasted almost 2 hours. He He will accept tips, but obviously loves it. My friend and I are pretty well-versed on US military history and we learned some things. I saw several things that had never seen in a museum before.

By Nokesville28 |

The Veterans have exhibits of war service to show visitors, Perhaps I was expecting more, and did not feel excited, so price of admission is to show appreciation: "SUPPORT OUR TROOPS" ..

By Teakwo23 |

Nice gem of a museum in Orlando. Take your time and read everything. Not really a good place for children as they will be bored and most are too goofy to understand anything.

By Becky D |

Nice little museum to spend a few hours in. Not a huge place but if you are into military history it's a great place to visit.

By Linda M |

Sgt. McCloud and the team at the Museum of Military History are clearly passionate about representing and depicting the American military from the Civil War and into present day conflicts in the Middle East. Their collection of military equipment and artifacts serve masterfully to transport you into the midst of every theater of engagement involving the American fighting machine. I would highly recommend this to everyone. In particular, this exhibit is profoundly educational for middle and high school students and will help them gain greater appreciation for America's military.

By mnguru1 |

The museum is small but it still took us an hour and could have taken longer but we were on a schedule. You will find many interesting exhibits. The people there were very nice and they even shared their 5 year anniversary cake with us. You can take pictures too. The family enjoyed it. It is a great counter balance activity to the various Park activities. A lot less crowded too!

I spent around an hour and a half walking through the Museum of Military History in Kissimmee. It is a museum I had not even knew was here until finding it on-line and decided to visit it on a Tuesday morning. There is a price of admission, varying from $4 to $7 for adults. The discounted admission is for disabled veterans, veterans/retirees and seniors. Active duty military personnel receive free admission. They are open Tuesday through Sunday from 1000-1800.

The museum is laid out in a chronological order from the US Civil War through the Iraq and Afghanistan campaigns, with displays about the Buffalo Soldiers and Tuskegee Airmen. There are also several different screens that either show movies or give details about various aircraft. The ones that describe the aircraft also include short videos showing takeoffs and other flight maneuvers.

What I Liked was not only did you find the usual artifacts that you expect to see in a military museum, there were also items that were unique and not often viewable to the public. Some of these items include an Air Force One tea set, German WWII tin molds, and WWI bullet crucifix. Most of the items have been either donated or loaned to the museum by veterans and other people so that everyone can enjoy the history of our military as well as those from around the world.

There is also has a research library that you are able to use. The museum is housed in a fairly large building, and it will take you at least an hour to go through it if you stop and study each of the sections. They do a good job with the upkeep and staff are on hand to answer any questions. They also have a small gift shop in the front when you walk in.

If you are looking for something to do away from the theme parks, I would highly recommend visiting the Museum of Military History. One thing to keep in mind is they do have a video showing aerial attacks using forward looking infrared (FLIR) against insurgents which might not be appropriate for little children. You will know you've arrived when you see the tank greeting you as you drive in!

this place is quite a tribute to the American soldier a great place to visit if you ever get the chance.

By kerryannnoeltt |

The front desk personnel is very warm and inviting The museum is perfectly layout and provided tons of information about each combat that the USA army as been involved in

By Veronica F |

Since we are a military family we wanted visited our America Military history museum. Everyone should got to visit and learn something important about the sacrifice of our men and women of the Military.

By Military Vet95B |

As a veteran and a history buff. I enjoyed it . Any place that honors our veterans has my support. The older gentleman at the front desk was very helpful and polite. I wish they had more souvenirs to buy with their name on it. I got a magnet and sticker.

I am currently on a Board of Representatives for a WW2 museum in El Dorado, KS. This museum has incredible displays representing every war from the revolutionary war to to the current war in Afganistan.

By Paul P |

Quite a small museum so I did not have any great expectations...… How wrong was I.
A genuine warm welcome and we were given good advice and directions of what to look at first. Civil war, Buffalo soldiers was a great set of exhibits, through to WW1 and WW2 with the Tuskegee airman. The Vietnam era exhibits were excellent and although I had read stuff about the conflict there is limited museum exhibits in the UK. Right the way through from Korea to Gulf war conflict and beyond. Coastguards also got a display.
cheap admission price.
Highly recommended.
Also has free parking and reserved disabled spaces and the shop also has a very good range of souvenirs.

By Patricia B |

Excellent exhibits of each of the wars with United States involvement. The exhibits were arranged in separate areas. The volunteer tour guides were a wealth of information especially because I am not very learned in US military history. Al sparked my interest and I am ready to order a book on one of the wars, maybe start with the Civil War.All the staff were very friendly and willing to snswer questions. We will go back next time we visit as they are continuosly taking in donations and arranging displays.

By Robin T |

It was smaller than was expected, but there were a great deal of items starting with the Civil War. My son & I got student discounts, so for 3 of us it was $17. There is a tank out front, but it was covered so we didn't get to see it. For something different it was nice.

By Alan C |

As others have mentioned, a little small, but overall an excellent museum. Inexpensive admission and lots of really cool things to look at. Knowledgeable staff makes you feel welcomed and they are eager to answer questions. Engaging for my teens which is nearly impossible if it's not an app or a video game. Well worth visiting. You will enjoy it.

By hallfamilytravelers |

This little building holds America's military history in it. It has a variety of artifacts from every war that the USA has played a role in. It is informative and makes you proud. The employee was a retired soldier and was willing to answer any questions. You could easily spend a couple hours here. Skip the dinner shows and pay a visit to this place. You will not regret it.

By Amber C |

If you're into history or military history, then this is the please to go. From the start of the Civil War to the sands of Desert Storm, you will find memorabilia of all types. We were informed that items were with donated or on loan. Whether with a guide or roaming on your own be prepared to be in awe of all the wonderful items on display. You are encouraged to take pictures and we did

Good, great coverage of wwII to current. Went while the girls were shopping, great to see something here for the guys.

By RoamingAimlessly |

This museum has very well presented educational displays. The museum is self-guided tour where different wars are documented in separate areas of the building. Everything there is carefully presented and beautifully maintained - from uniforms, to military jeeps, models of planes, to the written descriptions throughout the exhibit. This is definitely a must see if you are in the area. The people there are friendly and anxious to answer any questions you have. Very reasonable entry fees -- discounts for military and seniors. Highly recommend this museum.

We found this museum just by the off chance, as it was raining we decided to visit and so pleased that we did as we spent two hours getting lots of information that was displayed in a very interesting way. Children would learn from a visit.

By mmikko |

We visit because need somthing to do at rainy day - good for that. The museum is quite small and it's old fashioned - items with text plates (and some videos). Lot of U.S. history, which was interesting. Ticket was 7$/ adult.

By Ishpudejko |

Small by most museum's standards, the MOMH still managed to present a good overall picture of the different US wars by skillful use of pictures, letters, arms, weapons, and videos. A very knowledgeable tour guide was on hand to answer questions. Americans have fought in many wars and this museum did an admirable job in exposing us to all the conflicts. Time was well spent at this attraction.

By James D |

Dropped in this afternoon. Was welcomed by the chap at reception. Very nice guy and offered to answer any questions we might have.

The museum covers all branches of the military with exhibits from the Civil war all the way up to the present.

There are some very interesting stories and exhibits here. One veteran was happily bringing a group around explaining everything.

There were a few vehicles and also a British Ferret and a selection of cannon. There is quite a selection of guns and rifles.

I thought it was a nice way to spend the afternoon. There was plenty of parking.

There was also a selection of "Collectibles" for sale such as field gear, uniform items and helmets aswell as pins, insignia and medals.

Admission was $12 for two of us. I thought it was worth it. They are closed on Mondays!

By Robert R |

We have a nine year old who really enjoyed the museum lots of interesting information if you have a couple extra hours definitely a place to see the staff is very knowledgeable we would definitely go back

By Jane Carpenter |

Museum is small but lovingly put together. Try to get a volunteer guided tour - our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining.

By hugs4u |

Wanting not to stray too far from our Orlando resort on the last day of our trip, we looked here on Trip Advisor for local things to do, and saw that this museum had high marks. I am so glad we did!! The museum itself is a fairly small building, but one will be shocked to realize just how many things are on display! The museum is organized, for the most part, by the various wars..Iraqi/Afghanistan conflicts, Vietnam, Korea, WWII, WWI, and Civil War, various military vehicles and as a special bonus, there is an area dedicated to miniatures all created by one man! The amount of things on display will boggle your mind! One could easily spend several hours here, and still not have read everything there is to read. For those less interested in reading, one could walk through in about 45 minutes and still feel that their time was well spent. The veterans who run/volunteer here are all very friendly and informative. Unfortunately, we hit the museum when no volunteers were available for a guided tour, but we were provided a great overview when we entered. All items were donated, some posthumously, which puts a particular stitch in your heart to realize the sacrifices that are made on a daily basis by our armed service personnel. This is a really, REALLY great museum that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Very heartwarming.

By klassikid |

We were surprised at the amount of items the museum has collected. My husband really enjoyed the visit.

By IrishVoodoo |

This largely self and county financed museum is a treasure. The least of history buffs will love it. The Jeeps alone are worth coming to see. Every military era from Civil War to present day is represented here.
The various uniforms from the different branches of service are unbelievable. All branches are represented as well as women in the service. The artifacts and articles on display are well maintained and preserved. This is not just some thrown together thing from someone's basement or garage. This is the real deal.
There is a resource room that has books for you to browse. The staff is very well trained and knowledgeable. They were able to help guide several people to find out medal and unit information for their loved ones who are no longer living.
The Viet Nam Era and Korean Era exhibits were very well appointed, as were all of the other eras. There is a special display commemorating the contributions of the Buffalo Soldiers.
There are books and other items for sale, from books to medals, insignias and MRE's. They will even make you custom dog tags!
They even have a nice collection of WWII German artifacts including the precursor to the VW "Thing".
It is a great place to remind you that our country is about more than consumerism and all the places that are in the area designed to separate tourists from their money. Set aside some time while you are in the area and make a visit. It will be memorable and enjoyable for those who served and those who have enjoyed the freedom those provided.

By waranchelo |

I went with my son for the first time, beautiful collection. Different
artifacts from different wars, I hope the continue for many generations to come to show a little of history.

By Patricia P |

The museum starts with the Revolutionary War to present. It has a lot of factual information, pictures, displays. If you like this type of thing, this stop is a must on your list if you are in the area. Well worth the trip.

By FGCUSN |

Tucked away on the tourist corridor of Hwy 192 in Kissimmee, across from Camping World & two blocks west of Poinciana Blvd. You will find a great little Military Museum, over 10,000 square feet of exhibit space and over 50,000 items of display. A silver eagle bike greets as you walk in and it only gets better from there. A German Staff car that looks like it rolled out of the pages of history, a display of the living Medal of Honor awardees, with their actual signatures.

Get a preview at museumofmilitaryhistory.com then take a worth while drive & enjoy.

By K P |

Visited with my son who is very interested in war and the military. The exhibit was great and interesting. My son had a great time watching authentic items from different wars and countries. The staff was knowledgeable and very friendly and happy to answer questions. Thank you for a great visit!

This was a last minute stop before my fiance and I went to the airport and it was definitely worth it. I am a huge history buff and the exhibits were put together very well! They give military, senior, and student discounts.

Great place to spend an hour or two. Price is right and it wont break the bank.
From Civil War to modern day.
Would recommend highly

By chakkuri |

Nice little gem in the middle of the tourist trap strip. (There aren't very many places like this with single digit admission fees any more!) The front desk staff and curators/tour guides were all very friendly and eager to help. The displays were informative and well done. We spent about an hour there. Nice place for ROTC field trips. Definitely recommended for history buffs and military vets.

By moges61 |

My wife and I stopped here for a visit. It was well worth the price of admission. Having veterans in our family it was great to see all of the history that was available for viewing. The people that work there are super nice! I highly recommend this museum if you have time to stop in.

By Eugene D |

I really enjoyed this Museum. It Has displays from the Civil war to the Global War on Terror. I would recommend stopping by.

By b0b55russell |

I have toured and done self guided tours of military museums in Canada, England and several others regarding the American civil war. This is a rather modest one compared to others I have witnessed over the years but they have done a good job with their limited resources they have. A lot of the displays are donated but good explanations are written up for each one you visit. It has a library with a lot of books and reading tables. This museum started out in a mall and received some financially backing from the county government. It has a small gift shop. I started at the civil war section and worked my way to present day USA military history. Guided tours are available if booked ahead of time. Reasonable price to get in and has different levels if you are a student, senior, etc. A rather exceptional , well researched and excellent museum in the overall history of the military within the USA!

By steve V |

Popped through the door to find a well laid out informative and delightful museum. My 9 year old son loved the place, and I agreed it was excellent.

By Exnortherner |

While visiting the Kissimmee area, my wife and I stopped at the Museum of Military History. Being a veteran myself, I enjoy seeing collections of military memorabilia, and this place did not disappoint. In fact, it is a great museum. Starting with the Buffalo Soldiers of the old west and running up to the wars in the Middle East, this place has it all. Great displays of uniforms, medals, arms, vehicles and planes. We were greeted warmly and very enthusiastically. After paying our very modest entry fee, we were told to feel free to ask any questions that we might have while looking over the exhibits. At the very first exhibit of medals, my wife asked a question of Juan, one of the museum volunteers. He not only answered the question in great detail, but he offered to give us a personal guided tour of the whole museum. And let me tell you, Juan is something special. He spent 1 1/2 hours with us and lectured on every era in U.S. Military history. I know he is a veteran himself, but he is also a solid student of history who knows how to tell the story of our military. This was a thoroughly enjoyable visit and I can't wait to return.

By Marty D |

My first time at this facility, and it won't be my last. The museum is visually impressive, with numerous artifacts that are nicely displayed. Our tour guide was friendly, and really knew his stuff. Can not wait to return with my kids and grand children

Covers all American wars with small exhibits packed with good info. AL, an Army Vet and volunteer tour guide was fantastic! Kept it fast paced and interesting for Historians AND general tourist.

By Samuel B |

Wide variety of exhibits; friendly staff. We are visiting Orlando from England and will be back next year with other members of the family and will be back - a sure sign that we enjoyed our visit!

By William F |

This Museum covers all wars and has guided tours that are free the displays are informative and well done. Al was our tour guide he had some very interesting stories from all the wars. This is a must see we went back through the museum twice. There are some hands on displays like the Jeep and some Military articles for wearing and taking pictures. We spent about 2 hours here and could have spent more. Parking is free and it was only 7,00. There are Military items on consignment that were very reasonably priced and some great memorabilia.

By Anglophile_girl48 |

This is small museum and does good job of covering many wars. The MIA, empty table, exhibit is very moving and reminder of those who have not returned. There is a good reference library and tips for researching military history. Number of personal stories that bring the wars to life.

By Moataz E |

Went there with my son. From the outside place looks small but once you're past the door you're overwhelmed with the amount of original pieces they got stacked. And stuff are real nice. We also got our own dog tags

The Museum of Military History in Kissimmee is not a large facility, but it packs a ton of content into its space. We went with our family of 4 adults and 3 kids (ages 3, 10, and 13). Everyone really enjoyed the experience and learned quite a bit. Upon our arrival, we were greeted a staff member who explained the layout of the museum. Once inside, he let each of the children don some military garb and pose for pictures. They were also permitted to climb inside some of the military vehicles on display. The museum is laid out with sections for each of the wars from the Civil War to present day. There was one section that contained some amazing dioramas of various military characters and periods. The detail was unbelievable! All of the displays had clear printed descriptions. Even though I am a veteran and something of a military buff, I saw some things that I had not seen or heard of before. The museum held all of the family's interest for the two hours that we spent there.

Visited in August 2014 . Small museum but very interesting with very dedicated staff. I would highly recomend a visit . Get away from the parks for a few hours , and browse Americas milatary history. Was pleased to see a few bits from the u.k as well ! PLEASE GO AND SUPPORT THIS MUSEUM don't think you will be disappointed .

By DayTrippers5762 |

Discovered it through a coupon site and my spouse being ex military we knew we had to go there. It's small but the donations are big. At this rate they will have to expand. It's a time capsule that covers all the services. Very informational listening to the veterans that visit and the volunteers and others that work there. if you are a military history buff definitely go.

By LindaSue2025 |

Really enjoyed this museum! It is set up as a timeline through military history, and they have a little bit of everything. We took our 16 year old grandson and his friend who is joining the USMC next summer. Both of them are very interested in anything military, and we were all very impressed with the artifacts and how they were displayed. Ticket prices were reasonable, with discounts for seniors, students, and veterans, and the restrooms were clean. They also have a fantastic library with books from each military era. It takes at least an hour or more to go through the museum to really look at all the items from each time period. I was so impressed that I donated items from my father’s military career to the museum to be preserved and displayed. I highly recommend you visit the Museum of Military History!

By Grizz99 |

We stopped in this museum after going by it many times and were pleasantly surprised with the broad range of displays. If you buy the groupon tickets, it is an economical stop and worth a few hours to learn some history.

The address they use on their web site won't get you there! They are on the main drag (192). They were very friendly and the exhibits were fair. It wasn't worth the hour drive !

By ldean17 |

We thought the museum was very interesting. It starts with the Revolutionary War through the Viet Nam war. Many interesting exhibits. Probably not for young children as they might be bored. Some of the exhibits need some signage but other than that, we would recommend it.

Our group had 3 ex service personnel, one of who is an injured veteran, the welcome we received was overwhelming they made such a fuss and praised us on our service. We were shown around personally given a talk about the American history. We all found this interesting. This was a great morning out somewhere different, we all really enjoyed our experience.

By Gunslinger_46 |

The price to see the Museum of Military History was $18 and well worth it at that price - before you go in there are items of memorabilia to purchase if you wish.

This has been very well thought out and the display is excellent, within a small area - well worth a visit.

By anoleslady |

There are artifacts and information for wars from the Civil War to the current war. It was a great to find such a nice museum in the middle of the tourist mecca on HWY 192 Kissimmee. There was someone there giving school kids a tour which was a treat in itself. He was doing a good job in spite of the fact the kids only wanted to take pictures of themselves in the jeeps on display, (funny). It is certainly a nice place to spend a couple of hours if you are in Kissimmee. We live close by and had wanted to stop in for a long time, yesterday was the day and we are glad that we did. The people at the front desk are very nice, it is air conditioned, has nice bathrooms and the volunteers were well informed.

By Livingfornow |

Really enjoyed our experience. Ran by former military soldiers. You are in for an education on things. The person who was working when we were there was excellent and I think that he totally made out experience much more memorable. He questioned, quizzed, and educated us on the well-known and the not so well known. He went above and beyond expectations! The cost is extremely reasonable as are most things available for purchase.

This place is GEM! I wish everyone knew it was there, we picked up a pamphlet at our hotel. What an impressive collection of uniforms, guns, tanks, armored cars, cannons, mortars, anything you can think of. The staff is outstanding! And a simulator ride is there too!! You can even take ride (for an extra fee) in an M8 greyhound armored car on a track, very cool!!

This military museum is worth a visit if your in the area . I was staying in Kissimmee so it was only down the US192 highway- couple of miles. Very cheap , $5 each . We spent a good hour or so in there. Very enjoyable and plenty of memorabilia from all the wars.

By Bazza S |

A really nice but small museum, but the entry fee is only 7 dollars!! It shows all the wars till now, including the civil war with amazing attributes.

By amyhillmob |

This is good for exploring military history. With most exhibits being donated there are many personal stories that go along with the exhibits. There are many models, full size uniforms equipment and vehicles.

By Kevin Hodnett |

Great museum covering all the American wars. Fantastic knowledgable staff talking over each section of the museum. The children were allowed to get into gear and sit in the jeep. Definitely would recommend just a shame my mate Paul wasn’t here, he would of loved it too.

By Getaway60321021457 |

Our family had a great time. The curator was enthusiastic and well informed. He was really helpful answering questions. The museum is well organized chronologically and strikes a good balance between honouring our soldiers in all conflicts and interest in physical pieces. This is a great resource for homeschool families! They have a good resource library for members. We will be back. Thank you.

By John W |

Now, I thought it was a little light on Marine Corps history, but it does a good job on the supplemental services like the Army and the Navy. My wife was very impressed at the amount of information about women in the military and I enjoyed showing her some of the toys I used to convince the communists about the error of their ways.

By Frankenberry_12 |

Great museum with lots of military history. Our family enjoyed looking at everything and reading about the different items as well. You will not be disappointed with your visit here. We loved the trucks inside!

By ver0nesi |

Interesting museum for a day off the parks.
Guided by Colonel Ray who tells interesting stories!

By Marc T |

You can totally slip a visit into a 30-60 minute gap between trips to the parks or runs to the beach. It's a non-profit org run by vets displaying a fantastic collection of items loaned to the museum by local vets. They have incredibly friendly veteran volunteers on hand to give you personal tours, and they share some fantastic stories. It's not the biggest or fanciest museum you'll ever visit, but they have a wonderful rotating collection that covers every American war starting with the Civil War. A fascinating and respectful view of the wars from the point of view of the young men and women that fought them. And the price to get in is SO LOW that I ended up donating more (and I still feel like I underpaid). Definitely check it out next time you're in Orlando! It was really fascinating and we learned a lot!

By linda m |

I enjoyed the stories, old uniforms, hats & all the displays of events that lead us up to the present.

By Zophra |

Small museum with unique artifacts. I think the fact that it is organized from current back to Civil War should be reversed and they need more informational plates/papers to explain the use of what I'm looking at, not just the name of what it is. For example the K-9 display would have been more interesting with information on how the dogs were used; how they were trained, what happened to them after the war. Instead there was just pictures, handling equipment, and badges. The people there are absolutely wonderful; very friendly and worth talking to and let you handle equipment if you asked. In Florida, for the price it was worth it.

By Robin B |

Nice small set up good quality stuff very friendly and professional staff some unusual things to buy and reasonable prices

By tkd3dan |

Very interesting museum. Well organized and very informative. The guys at the reception desk were amazing. Highly recommend!

By Jeff B |

The rest of the family was off at Universal Studios. My 15 year old son and I decided to hang out and see what there was around town. The museum had a little something for each time. From the Civil War through Vietnam. It was clean and well organized. My son enjoyed it and so did I.

By Lori S |

Great display of US memorabilia but it is just things to read with the guide- Al was invaluable. He interacted with us, answered all questions and was just the funniest!

By Robin |

It's small, but done tastefully and with accuracy concering the military branches and different war histories. The people are very nice ad helpful. It is a great way to spend an hour or so.

By Jack S |

The museum has some interesting artifacts and historical pieces but the layout is somewhat confusing and the their is little provided to put the collection in context or to present a historical narritive to the displays. Much of the collection is made up of uniforms, personal items, small arms and models. The only military vehicles on display were a couple of jeeps, a humvee and a mounted gun car. The museum has a nice military theme library with books covering all American military conflicts. The presentation could be greatly improved with a little more curatorial attention. Nevertheless the Museum of Military History is worth a stop if you are into the subject. Allow at least one hour to see the collection.

By Anita L |

I was pleasantly surprised by my visit to the Military Museum...it is chock full of information, actual military uniforms, guns, helmets, etc...spent a long time browsing through...

By janef12342016 |

We visited this museum because of my partner's interest in military history. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed our visit too. On arrival a guided tour was just starting which was excellent. I learnt so much about all the wars. Definitely worth a visit.

By Stephen W |

Brilliant time for all of my family, finding out about the American History of War, and talking to Veterans.

By blkhawk4 |

Was very enjoyable. You get to see all generations of military items. My family got to see what I dealt with and there grandfather

By Q8765PNmichelle |

Seeing the excitement all over my 10-year-old son’s face! He loves anything military and this place is a military lovers dream!

By ebarock |

The museum it is not that big, but they have everything from Civil War to War on Terror. Cars, guns, knives, videos, books, uniforms and many other things.

The price is very reasonable (for me and my wife was $14,00) and the best thing is to talk with veterans (in our case a super funny vet from Vietnam).

By Signe G |

We had a fantastic experience at the museum of military history. We had a great guide, Al, who took us through the entire museum with lots of interesting stories. All of the personnel were very eager to share their stories and make our experience even better. I can definitely recommend this to anyone visiting the Orlando area.

By Amanda H |

This was awesome. We loved the specialized tour we received from veteran and volunteer to the museum AL. My husband being military especially loved the history and accuracy of this place. Would recommend to anyone who is or was military or just a history buff in general!

By Buckeye2163 |

Great collection of our nations history from many years of conflict to preserve our freedom. Veteran guides to ask questions, but it is still a self guided tour. You will come away with a new found admiration for our service members. These people put their lives on the line so that each and every one of us has the right to our individual freedoms. If you do not agree, than would you kindly leave the greatest country in the world today. Signed, a true Patriot!

By Phillip L |

a very moving experience of all aspects of the US Military, you leave in awe of the sacrifices made by so many for our freedom thank you to all that have served and are serving now

By jkling1307 |

This museum although relatively small has covered every battle & war with distinctive memorbilia--each batlle/war had it's own section--what was especially great was the newspapers covering the conflicts. There are museum aides stationed around, who have a wealth of knowedge, and are approachable.

By Travelingwookie1 |

probably one place thats sadly over looked by the tourist. but if your into history this is for you.

covering everything from civil war to the war on terror this has it all.

$7 entre and you should be round in an hour.

worth a look.

By ttimper |

The general overall picture of the american military history. Very interesting to look through this perspective of recent wars as well.

The guide of the day had a hug amount of knowledge.

By Marie B-W |

Great value, very inexpensive, discounts for all...ask for a guide; they're informative and you won't miss anything and there isn't a charge..they love their job(possibly volunteers) and they knew many things that we didn't know

By 1Thom2H |

Excellent quality displays put together by local military historian and volunteers. Stretches over history from pre Civil War through today. Have the free tour by the docent or self guide linger where you like. Small price of admission makes this a great stop for a short museum tour.

By TravelingClearwater |

Ton of stuff tucked away in this quaint museum. Low admission and insightful staff. Numerous static displays and more. They have uniforms, packs and helmets to try on. Wide variety of history starting with The Buffalo Soldiers and ending with present day.

By Alfanas |

This is awesome museum in honor for all those soldiers that defend our freedom. Nice collection of item from documents, rifles, Jeeps, a tank and awesome pictures of differents wars and eras. Worth the visit for military enthusiasts.

By vinetta |

worth going to the museum british veterans will get discount very interesting different things to see and read

By Groundcrew |

A small and friendly museum with interesting background taking you through the early Seminole Wars to the current conflicts. Many little facts abound which filled in gaps in my knowledge, also personal artefacts & letters. A great way to spend an hour or two away from the parks. A bonus was getting a discount on the entry price as an ex serviceman.

By Captain Charles G |

The history of American War and under 1 hour. I strongly suggest you take the tour. Al our tour guide was an actual veteran very knowledgeable. I could not have left this museum with the knowledge I received in such a short time without taking the tour. What makes this museum unique is that all of the actual artifacts are real, not replicas, or reproductions, that actually saw wartime battle action.
So if you're in American history buff I highly recommend you stop by and check it out.

By Gonzalez54 |

I pass by every day, was very curious so I told my sister. She was looking for something specific for her hubby.

By MsClaus |

We happened by and saw this museum. We absolutely loved the experience. The displays were nicely kept and informative. However, the best part was our tour guide, Al. Al is an enthusiastic historian and great at telling the stories as they really happened. We had two children 11 and 9 with us; Al kept their interest and made military history fun for all of us. I Definitely recommend this museum.

By calidreams1969 |

Took my son here and he loved it. I even learned a little more on history. Great place to go to an staff are awesome.

By blueNote_chefK |

Took my folks here while at a convention in FL. They are Vets so I thought it would be a neat treat. Score! They loved it and the gentleman working that day made their visit entertaining and special. I would highly recommend. It's great to look at the sacrifices made by so many!

By atozmowers |

I really enjoyed the Museum of Military History. The staff working there, was a veteran and very knowledgeable of the artifacts that were inside.

By DisneyDad2 |

This is a really nice, small museum and I found the staff to be very friendly and informative. The collection covers from the revolutionary war to the current conflicts in the middle east. Plan on about an hour here.

By Debora H |

We thoroughly enjoyed spending time at the Museum of Military History, seeing all of the great exhibits and hearing some stories from veterans.

By Kriss2718 |

This museum is not the biggest, but is very interesting if you are a history or military buff. The items and displays well laid out, and the staff member we talked to seemed very knowledgeable.
Highly recommend spending an hour here during your stay in Kissimmee.

By Tommy G |

Every era from the revolutionary was to the war in Afghanistan and Iraq! Way to much to mention in the review. From vehicles to weapons to uniforms, dioramas even a tank! Admission is very reasonable for what is available here!

By HappyTraveler5752 |

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised at the extent of this collection. You should allow 1 to 2 hours for your visit, depending upon whether you read all the information at each display. They are currently cataloging a large collection of books. Visitors will be able to do research on a particular area of interest. It is a great value for the cost of admission, only about $7 each. They have room for growth and will probably be adding to the collections in the future.

By Joe M |

While visiting Orlando and the mouse I have driven by I few times kept tell wife I was gunna stop . Well needless to say me and my best friend Jim dropped the wife's off and went very friendly staff answer any guestions and will listen to any story hmmmm. The museum is small but growing all the wars are covered and some real local history of local heroes . They will make dog tags with the old machine (hand) even if you can't remember your whole service number. Four dollars for vets to get in .Gift shop with some real nice items . So i say don't drive by stop in spend some time and I little money because it's all for the vets. GOD Bless America and the Brave men and women who keep it safe and free.

By Ed M |

While the building is relatively small compared to the WWII museum in New Orleans it is packed with lots of artifacts. It starts with the Revolutionary War and goes through all of our wars with uniforms and paraphernalia. There are exhibits honoring women in wars, the Buffalo Soldiers and the Vietnam War. There is a map of Vietnam where soldiers have signed where they were stationed, very touching. It does not attempt to explain the wars or give history but does give examples of people and artifacts very well.
Very reasonably priced.

By Donegore43 |

The museum is just located off the 192 in Kissimmee and has plenty of free parking.

Ticket price is very reasonable and you get a discount if your a veteran. The staff have a number of very knowledgeable veterans who are happy to share their experiences.

The museum has a number of interesting exhibits from different wars, and whilst not huge is very interesting and a great way to spend an hour or so.

It's not pretentious and a good alternative from the commercial hype that is abundant elsewhere.

If your a military buff you will enjoy the experience.

By canadian_investor |

This was my first visit and we had a great time. Some unique items on display that I had not seen in other museums or even special displays.
Displays are well planned out and there is enough information available to keep a visitor interested but not bored and lose interest without reading it all.
Worth the admission and reasonable business hours although I would have liked if it was open later into the late afternoon/evening

By godsgirlsmiles |

I didn't go, but my husband of 30 years in the United States Army did go and he said it was a nice museum. He had nothing but good to say about it!

By Art H |

Our party consisted of one vet and four family members down to 12 years old. We were in there for two hours and will probably go again on our next visit to Kissimmee.

They have knowledgeable staff --- who are dedicated and committed to explaining things.

I saw evidence that items are rotated, so this is not a dusty, stagnant old place.

Easy to find, right on a main drag. Easy free parking.

By Kent W |

Many exhibits for the many wars covered in the museum. Enjoyed seeing all the different uniforms, models and artifacts. It would be great if more of the exhibits and models were labeled to indicate what all the things are.

By Ger B |

Small museum but very neat and very informing.
staff is very friendly and prices are reasonable!
worth a visit if you are in the neighborhood

By flgram |

Excellent display of uniforms, articfacts, articles, vechicles, artillery from the Civil War thru the Vietnam War, with information on Women in the Wars as well. Nice little library area, too, and the largest German display I have seen in a military museum. Very informative and interesting

By Richard B |

Wasn't sure what to expect but interesting visit and very informative , a lot of uniforms and info , maybe could do with more items and info boards . Overall a good way to spend a few hours .

By Karen D |

We love visiting this museum of Military History. It's great to see all of the history and talk to the veterans there. You can certainly get a feel for all the sacrifices our military heroes have done for our freedom.

By 811carld |

The museum closed early, we didn't get a chance to review the entire bldg. Not on my high point list

By No Fuss No Muss |

We found this gem when looking for some indoor activities to do/see with the whole family and we weren’t disappointed. Lots of great things to see and learn, enough to keep the whole family entertained for an hour or two.

By DRuiz801 |

If you ever wanted learn about military history this a start. You can listen to audio or read descriptions of what is in front of you.

By onecrazydman |

This is a great museum that is always changing. It covers every every war/conflict starting with the civil war to present. Great antique firearms from every war. Jeeps, tons of actual headline newspapers, uniforms, mock set ups. They have a library with hundreds of books and a couple of shelves of items for sale. If your a vet you need to stop by. If your a historian you need to stop by. If you ware bored and need something to do you just might learn something by visiting this great historically accurate museum.

By Katanah G |

Very nice military museum. Learned alot. My husband was army and I navy and we loved all of the displays at the museum.

By CJB |

A lot of unique items. Educational! Not good for small children, but good descriptions. Very good WWII up to desert storm

By Britishcanadianeh |

I suppose when I saw the picture, I was thinking it was something that was going to be a little larger, as it is just one floor, and perhaps 10,000 sq ft? They did pack a lot of stuff in, and were able to put together a bit of Hx from each war the USA was involved with. There were uniforms, weapons, and perhaps 7 vehicles, the coolest being the Willy's jeep. Another creative thing they did was have a library where you could read from the vast collection of war time books. All in all, probably worth seeing if you are a Hx buff at all.

By cochraneOxford |

Very interesting visit, well looked after, clean and tidy with restrooms! All the artefacts are displayed in an informative way that is easy to follow, small items to large vehicles.

By befunt |

Went with our family as part of a local day trip to experience more than just Disney and we learned a lot of historical information about the wars the US has fought in. Thank you.

By Red-Super-Hero |

Great little museum to explore the military history with a lot of stories from local folks. Good size library to do research or jst to read. The staff will answer any questions. We enjoyed the time there. Worth a stop.

By diane w |

Our tour guide Al had a lot of great information about the great exhibits here, from the American Revolution through modern day. We really enjoy browsing in the library and the unique items here!

By W3Z |

Small military museum that was both informative and thought provoking. Low entry price and we spent around two hours looking at the exhibits and reading about US military history.

By AMN1209 |

Went w/2 small children. Very informative! We had a great time. They were never bored. Museum was small but they put a lot of time into it and the displays were excellent! Nice get away from the “tourist traps”. Well worth the trip

By Leco A |

Small but with everything you need to see.
Great place and with a lot of respect for reservists soldiers.
Thanks !!!!

By WaSunlover |

My husband found this very interesting military museum to check out. I would never have thought there would be one like this here in Florida. We all come from all different backgrounds and have all different knowledge about military history. My father was an American soldier of Japanese ancestry who fought in World War II, 442nd Regimental Combat Team/100th Infantry Batallion. I was very surprised to see their Medic Unit supplies displayed. Found out that they had just acquired the supplies couple weeks ago. Too cool, my dad was a Medic and those were what he may have used in the war.

This museum is amazing and was superbly done. I must say it was very informative to learn about the various wars, to visually see what it was like to be a soldier, what they used, what they went through, so much to see. Much to learn and understand, to appreciate and be thankful for what all the soldiers have done for us. So, please make it a point to come and visit this museum. It is wonderful place for school age kids to learn some history too. I am very glad I came, I even saw Willy war jeeps which I like and first learned to drive.:)

By susieanna07 |

What a wonderful museum, there is so much here, laid out well. It covers many periods of time with just enough detail on each subject.
The staff are very knowledgeable especially Sgt McCloud, such a friendly, helpful man.
Although this is a small museum it is definitely worth a visit, you will certainly learn alot.

By wrghtstff |

We found the museum on our GPS "Points of Interest". My son and I found a lot of military history in this fairly small building. Worth the visit, just be prepared to do a lot of reading, so plan on spending some time there.

By JonnyFly |

Very nice museum with a lot of interesting information, a must to visit if you are in Kissimmee and like to know more of american military history.
They got everything, cars, guns, uniforms and equipment and lot of information...

By Jose C |

Is perfect for people who really like history and people who likes military stuff like me, I recommend it.

By Davin D |

This is an awesome place to visit. I’m glad that the city put the time and money into this place to show and preserve some history.

By Nicole L |

With the large rain storm, we decided to leave the parks and find something else. We came across this and I did not expect much. Upon walking in, we were happily greeted by Sgt. Rich McCloud. He explained to us what the museum was about and encouraged us to look around, ask questions, and even have our own dog tags made. The exhibits were very interesting but it was Sgt. Rich who made this trip so memorable.

By Ray2425 |

As a British Veteran I visited on Memorial Day and it was a privilege to meet and speak to staff and visitors alike. Not the largest of museums but many interesting features. These places must never be allowed to be forgotten and kept open forever, even more important the sacrifice that the men and women of all the armed services made must be remembered and respected always.

By Kelly W |

Went here with a friend while our wives hit the outlet mall and wow.... we will be back because we couldn't take it all in! Cool artifacts, informative videos, great displays! The cost is a very reasonable $7 and we will go back. There was so much to check out!

By jlgkb1974 |

What a great place to visit. It was nice to get away from the theme parks and relax and enjoy a fantastic military museum. The museum covers from Civil War-War on Terrorism. The also have 6 vehicles on site. They have a great WWII display with a lot of vet bring back items.

By Nancy O |

This military museum is well organized and with interesting displays. Our tour guide Al was both informative and entertaining. He greatly enhanced our experience here.

By Bergbahnn |

This is a small museum but is worth a stop. They have military items nicely displayed covering from Civil War days through the conflicts of the last few years. The coverage of WWII and Vietnam included many items that have been loaned or donated by veterans or their families and the storyboards gave good coverage of how they tied into the conflict. You can easily spend a couple of hours here. It is worth the stop.

By Regina G |

For the price of admission, I didn't expect the museum to be as good as it was. However, it far exceeded our expectations. When you enter there is a small gift shop and they sell some items on consignment. It was a little sad to see medals, etc that were for sale. Once you enter the museum, it goes through different periods/wars. There's even a library with tables to sit and look as some of the many books they have. The entire experience was humbling when you read, and see, about the sacrifices made for our freedom. We spent 2 hrs there and would have stayed longer of we had more time. We'll definitely return.

By FGCUSN |

A diamond in the rough that has smooth edges. This Museum started in a store front in the Osceola Mall in 2003 and has won awards from the State and county as well as recognition from the U.S. Army in their donation program. Now in a 10,000 sf building on west 192 it was recently recognized as the best museum in Osceola County. The Osceola School District partners and School students are given free admission. To say I am proud of this Museum would be an understatement Displays are rotated & there is always new articles in the showcases. . .

By henrywrigh |

What a fantastic few hours here at the museum of military history .... Thank you very much to Sargent McCloud for the very interesting tour... Didn't expect it but he gave us two hours of one to one chats on many different things, much appreciated as we found out so much

By Domhan-Taistealai |

This museum is kind of small in terms of square footage but they pack a whole lot of quality into it, and for the entrance fee of $7 a person I thought it was well worth it. They have interesting displays from the civil war era, through all the major wars, up to the war on terrorism. My wife and I were lucky enough to show up at a quiet time and were given a private tour of the museum by Colonel Homero Rodriguez, a former US Green Beret and Intelligence officer from Columbia. This guy has an amazing resume and we were fortunate to have him as our museum guide. After his tour we stayed another hour or so to continue looking at the exhibits. Take your children there, because, as the Colonel said to us, 'freedom is not free' and our young people need to see history and the sacrifices made in order to better understand that. This place is definitely worth the visit.

By Crystal G |

This place is very informative. It's a self guided tour which is great for people like me who can feel rushed or annoyed. It is laid out in order and very well kept. If you can get the Groupon for it, do. We paid $7 for the both of us. Definitely worth a visit.

By CaseyMo921 |

Located off one of the main highways crisscrossing the Kissimmee area, this is a small museum that showcases military items from conflicts throughout American history. Although it's a small museum, the exhibits are well done and engaging. The museum area opens with several displays of Civil War era items and uniforms and progresses in a u-shape all the way up to the current conflict overseas. Many of the items were donated by local families and showcase personal ties to the Orlando area. I didn't spend much time in the library area, but they have a vast collection of military history books and 3-ring binders listing soldiers who earned medals of honor. They also had a large display showcasing the various rifles used by the military. This museum is worth a trip if you enjoy history and/or war history.

By JWC |

Very enjoyable visit! I was not sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by the items on display. I enjoyed it and liked seeing the items they have.

By RickenHeleen |

We expected a lot more from this museum. Maybe we Europeans see things different. The biggest massacare of WWII isn’t even mentioned anywhere, it’s just about how good the Americans were in previous wars. Thats fine and they have any right to say so, but then call in the National War museum, that does more honor to the place then the current name.

By BigFrank28906 |

This place was very impresive to cover so many wars with the space they had.
I enjoyed the visit and it was woth the fee. The man at the front dest with a Chineese wife was most helpful and truly loved his job.

By Michael W |

It is a great activity for a cool or rainy day. The museum covers military history from the revolutionary war thru modern day. Has a lot of exhibits to read and see. We thought is was very interesting.

By Gregory D |

As military history buff, I loved this museum with well-detailed American military artifacts like uniforms, photos, miniature displays, and logistics. I was hooked at the miniature military dioramas with engagement. There were different historical events at the beginning of Revolutionary War, Seminole War, Revolution of Texas, Civil War, Theodore Roosevelt's Cuban War, World Wars 1 & 2, Korean War, Vietnamese War to the end of Desert War in Iraq for snooping around to review with pleasure. There was a small library specializing in US military books and documents for reference, but no loan at all. My spouse was interested in displays with attraction because she was really visually-oriented like myself. This place was a full of entertainment for the early morning risers because it was so quiet.

By steveof5-0 |

I have been to many "war musuems" from the Imperial in London England to the community one in Remagan Germany. The one here in Kissimee is gem of a find and super informative. My wife and I paid $14 total. I suggest to parents that if you have under 12s that behave badly...stay away out of respect.

By pstampnick |

We thoroughly enjoyed our guided tour with Al, he was very entertaining and we loved hearing about his personal connections with the military. The museum has some unique pieces. I really liked the pieces signed by veterans that participated in the conflicts and later visited the museum.

By sam veltre |

veteran guide that was there was fun and knowledgeable. take about 1 to 2 hours to walk through and enjoy everything. lots of things i have never seen before, specific to the soldiers themselves and going about their time deployed. doesn't glorify war more so humanizes the soldiers and their experiences.

By Mike C |

The museum was excellent and a lot of the exhibits were donated as a veteran myself I appreciated how it was set up on hand staff were very nice and inlightening there were artifacts to purchase go thru at your own pace I recommend this to all

By Deneece G |

Informative and enjoyable visit. My whole family is military past and present so it was great showing our younger travelers some of the information and memorablia.

By Tracey M |

We went here as our 10 year old son is interested in anything military. We liked how it started out with the civil war and worked through military history. So many pieces of memorabilia and the docents were full of information and excited to answer questions. Highly recommend spending a few hours at that museum if you have any interest in military history.

By tumbleweedchris |

I'm not exactly sure why this museum has gotten the number of 5 star reviews that it has. The museum is a little rough around the edges. Weird looking mannequins and a hodgepodge of exhibits line the temporary walls. It has a sort of small town museum charm to it, which is what most appealed to me, but it is by no means a top class museum. There are some more personal exhibits that you can get close to like old photos and badges. The museum made an effort to have interactive screens, but these either don't work or are not interesting. The employees are great and eager to share what they can and the cheap price makes it affordable enough to try. I really wouldn't suggest a tourist take the time out of their trip to see this unless you are super into military history. Otherwise, this reaches the level of local curiosity.

By Robert F |

As a retired military veteran I was interested in visiting this museum located just down the road from Star Island Resort. I was surprised at how much history was on display. The museum is laid out chronologically starting from the civil war and going all the way through the Gulf War. It depicted artifacts from all military branches and and even items from other countries. At only $7, the museum is well worth a visit for anyone with an interest in the military.

By Bonnie H |

If you love the history of the military--then The Museum of Military History is for you!! Reasonable admission rate, great display of Military History.

By LegoDad77 |

This place is pretty cool! It's on the main tourist strip, with plenty of parking. I didn't get the Groupon but there are some wild deals you can get.

The museum has stuff starting with the US Civil War and going right up to the present. I especially enjoyed the Buffalo soldier and Tuskegee Airmen displays.

In the middle of the store they had one of those mash jeeps, that you could sit in.

Before we left we checked out the gift shop, they had WWII money for sale!!!

Would I return? You bet! I hope you too as well!

By Danny D |

My son who is 8 wanted to visit, had a look around lots to see and read, very educational for him, very nice and not expensive. Takes between 30 minutes to 1 hour to look around
