Nice walk along the oceanfront. Alot of shops and places to eat or grab a drink along the way. Some places are closed for the season but you don't have the summer crowds either.

Wander the shops, enjoy the ocean views, listen to the ocean, and walk the piers. Mellow and practically empty before noon. We enjoyed it a lot, plus it's either concrete or an actual boardwalk, so it's wheelchair accessible. Great views, lots of flowers and trees on the hotel side, and beach and ocean to the other side.

Amazing shops ! Enjoyed everything there from the food to the souvenirs! Had a really great time! Would love to visit again!

The boardwalk is mostly cement. Many also are confusing the pier with the boardwalk. The boardwalk is a nice place to walk along the Ocean

My finance and I just wanted a quick little getaway for the weekend. It was his first time. We walked the entire area of Broadway at the Beach. We fed the birds and geese. We took lots of pictures are and purchased a few things. Great place to make a part of your stay at the beach.

I only have 2 words breathtaking & beautiful...it's so many restaurants & carnivals near & around the boardwalk its a great place for families with children do do the scenery is gorgeous

The boardwalk was disappointing. We expected more shops and shops of different varieties. We also expected benches to sit on and more fun things to do.

So much to see here my oldest daughter enjoyed having a henna tattoo and a few of the gifts shops to end it with some yummy Italian Ice

Pretty place
Ridiculous that you are not allowed to bring dogs in .. it’s an open space and at least small dogs should be allowed or all dogs that are kept on the leash

Small area, but ok if you need to just kill some time. Nothing spectacular. Wet Willies was the highlight of the walk.

This is a relatively young boardwalk. The boardwalk up to the main area along the beach is very nice and peaceful at night. Little shops and then the main area. It's like an old time amusement area. It's okay. You can usually walk it from tour hotel.

Clean and enjoyable. Plenty of shopping and eating. Glad indoor stores require masks. Store and outside booths have very friendly staff.

Much nicer than having to walk along the street like we did in the old days. You can easily see the ocean as the board walk is directly behind the dunes. There were many places to eat and places to shop similar to what is on Ocean Blvd. in the main section of Myrtle. We were there in the evening and walked back on Ocean Blvd. Things were much rowdier than on the boardwalk side. Even our teens preferred the boardwalk as compared to the craziness on the street.

We went in the morning about 9am, not thinking anything of it. We thought we would walk on the beach until shops opened. There was only one public bathroom, many homeless people washing in the sink and being sketchy. A few homeless people passed out on the steps to the beach. Ended up leaving before the shops opened. Will not be back. They did have some activities like Ripley’s and arcades.

Knowing we were there off season still cannot understand why this keeps coming up as a preferred destination. Trinket shops and not much more.

According to the scale, a rating of 2 means “poor”. I would go for disappointing.
These might be a matter of timing. A Wednesday evening (7pm) in early September.
It was quiet, very quiet.
Few people, no energy, no atmosphere.
The best tables on the restaurant terraces overlooking the sea were free. The rides and the Ferris wheel were empty. Uncrowded sidewalks.
It was clean and we felt safe.
However, the fact remains that it is a supply of low-end, uninteresting stores that offer useless gadgets to tourists.
It's ugly.

I loved the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk - I like visiting in the winter due to less crowds and it was so peaceful to walk

Nice area to hang and have appetizers and brew. The beach views are right in front of you. Problem when we were there for a week is not enough staff. Its everwhere, not just myrtle beach. Charleston same issue.

Pretty much your typical tourist area, with Ripley's, rides, wax museums. We left pretty quickly due to the numerous loud cars and trucks, from revving engines and car stereos, as well as noise from some of the commercial establishments. I'd suggest Pigeon Forge, St. Augustine, or Niagara Falls for a much quieter version.

Great views, incredible restaurants and lots parks to sit and enjoy the see air. Only downside is the parking options stink and the actual boardwalk itself needs some repairs

We enjoyed walking around looking in the shops and feeding the carp! Very clean, many restaurants and rides for those who like that. Something for everyone!

A nice boardwalk along the beach. Plenty of bars, souvenirs. Ice cream, and snacks. Some seating areas. And great views of the ocean and hotels. There are a couple spots where some homeless or run down hotels are
But for the most part it's a great walk

The boardwalk all depends on what you want. If you want sports bar style eating, there is that. If you want state fair type of food, there is that. If you want amusement rides, there is that. If you want crappy souvenir shops all over the place all selling the same sweatshop mass produced shirts and trinkets, there is that. We went to experience it all and we did. Don't regret it but probably not going to be a return trip for us to this boardwalk. Once you've seen it, there really isn't any mystery and need to return.

The Boardwalk is kept in good condition and has lots of eating places there and nearby. You see plenty of people just taking a stroll, nice atmosphere.

We walked the boardwalk several times. It’s a nice walk with informative signs spaced along your walk. The shops and food places along the way are nice too

Awful! Not worth the trip. Will definitely not be coming back here. Smells horrible (urine, booze, and trash). No other words. We left almost immediately.

We visited the Boardwalk and had a great lunch with ice cold beer, looking at the ocean. Lots of shops to wander through and the area was okay during the day as far as safety. It might be different at night. Worth going to.

Lots to do and eat along here. Food food food..candy, ice cream...and all by the sea. Nice area and nice views of the ocean out here. Go here and do some shopping.

For me the best time is in the winter Dec Jan Feb the weather is cold but not too cold. All the crowds are gone and not many people on the beach. Perfect place for all the walking you care to do minus all the sweat and sunburn.

We just returned from our annual MB vacation. Friday and Saturday night on the boardwalk area/ Ocean Blvd. was just scary. I understand SC is open carrying, but as a family on vacation it is uneasy to see so many guns out in the open. There were large groups of loud, drinking, young folks and this will end our annual trip. It makes me very sad. I did not feel safe.

Good walk to see water and get some exercise. Old wood planks are rough and need replacing but with care worth it!

We decided to stay away from this area on this trip. They were having some gang activity and violence, it was in the news so I'm not spreading rumors. We did decide to take a chance went down not far from the ferris wheel stopped at one of the local entrances to the beach, We weren't out 10 minutes before several cop cars pulled up around some young men and a paddy wagon came! There was so much litter on the beach just didn't seem that inviting. We went back to our resort in South Myrtle. Just stating facts.

This place is amazing has so much to do. Take your walking shoes plenty to eat and do. The rides are pretty good as well. You can go in some stores for 20 and walk out with a bag of items.

Nice place to visit. Variety of sites, rides and shops. All kind of places to eat as well. Water rides, rip ride. Must see.

I loved watching the boat ride and the wonderful pineapple drink, they loved the ferris wheel, the kiddie rides, shops and wow everything!!

This is a hard one!!! The main Boardwalk is nice to see once! There is plenty to do with shops, bars and plenty of places to eat. Not to mention the beach. This is very touristy and crowded. If that's your thing fine! I'm older now and it is not - so I prefer other parts of MB which there are plenty. If your staying in that area then it's nice to be able to walk to everything. BUT if your staying in North MB - it's just not worth the hassle to find parking and deal with the crowds (once maybe). Plus after dark you need to be alert!

We've gone to Myrtle Beach for years and always make a trip to the Boardwalk. We usually only go one time each visit and that is more than enough. The shops are typical tourist surf shops and most of the dining options are fast food, candy, or pizza. There are a few cool bars. There is a lot of street traffic and everyone is showing off their cars; it's fun to see, but it gets to be a bit much after a short time. The crowd is younger and a bit unruly. There were two shootings down here the weeks before we arrived, so there was a strong police presence. Still, you probably won't spend much time down here and there are a lot of other options that feel much safer than this.

this wasn;t to crowed with the virus. alot of hand sanitizing station at many of the stores was an added touch.

We spent a lot of time walking up and down the boardwalk and hanging out on the beach. There’s a few sketchy people in the area but they kept to themselves. If you come to Myrtle Beach, you HAVE to visit this area.

If you are looking for something to do, just drive to this location - so many new stores since our last vacation in Myrtle Beach. I'm sure you can enjoy it any time you go! Several shops were closed due to the time we were there - not their prime season.

Myrtle Beach offers a perfect blend of relaxation and excitement for families seeking a beach vacation. With its serene beaches, abundant seafood options, and numerous entertainment choices, it's an ideal destination. Families can unwind on the sandy shores or indulge in thrilling amusement park rides. The array of shows and shopping opportunities cater to all interests, ensuring everyone has a memorable and fulfilling experience. Overall, Myrtle Beach provides a harmonious balance of tranquility and entertainment, making it a top choice for a family beach getaway.

Looks like there are upgrades made to the boardwalk, new stores being added, we were able to walk there from our hotel.

We were there in the evening and it was a nice walk. We do not know so many beaches in the US, but compared to Atlantic City it was nicer.

we love outside eating.. love the landshark - eat there every visit. we also enjoy strolling the promenade.

My husband and I felt really unsafe in this area, even in broad daylight. People walking around, seemingly high on something, lots of homeless folks, dirty, seedy, smelly, and felt really dangerous. Not a good experience, at all. Too bad. There is a great view of the ocean, but you'll be too busy looking over your shoulder to enjoy!

Awesome time!! Love Myrtle Beach area. Always fun to be had here at the beach. Great food and fun!!!

We have been on a few beach boardwalks around the country. This one was fun. We were there briefly because my wife cannot handle heat and humidity well, and she cannot walk very far, but we still wanted to experience at least the block where the Gay Dolphin Gift Shop is located. There are numerous interesting shops and things to do within about a two block section of the boardwalk in that location. Plus, there's the beach too, of course!
Parking was nonexistent when we were there, due to construction. I got the impression that even when there is no construction, parking along Ocean Boulevard is limited. There are pay parking lots one block over, away from the beach, and there are concourses through the buildings, so it is easy to reach all the "action" from the parking lots.
I really wished we had been there on a cooler day. So much to see! So much to take in. Great food places, arcades, gift shops, the big sky wheel nearby, people watching, amusement centers like Ripley's, as well as many other choices.

We walked the boardwalk on a Sunday and there were more homeless than tourists in the park and on the boardwalk. The shops were dingy and staff of the shops were not pleasant or personable. For example, the candy shop worker had hard core rap playing and was on a personal phone call. I do not recommend the boardwalk - there is plenty of other things to do in Myrtle Beach.

A beautiful walk through its wavy construction pattern. The area was clean and well mannered. Its great to walk from the back of the hotel to the back entrance to some of the restaurants instead walking out in the street side. More quiet.

Great place to go for a walk. Some nice shops and restaurants to enjoy. Plenty of parking about a block away for five dollars a day. Go and spend some quality time.

An enjoyable walk down the ocean side. Lots to see and do for shops and restaurants. It is pretty large, so be ready to hoof it for a while. There is also an area that is just a walking trail that is a little south of the main shopping area.

Place is gross and smells like throwup. The people are rowdy and teenagers driving up and down in their carolina squatties looking to start issues. Homeless people everywhere and definitely high on drugs. There is a lack of police and control. 3rd trip down there in 3 years and they’ve all been the same.

The weather is great this weekend, 70s, sunny, and not very crowded considering it a jeep weekend. Plenty of shops and a great beach.

I've loved this place since I was a kid in the 80s and it hasn't changed much. I visited with my 16 year old daughter. I wish parking was a little more affordable. Unfortunately in the busy summer season social distancing in this area is nearly impossible, so I wouldn't visit if you are concerned about COVID-19 at all. The businesses are doing their best but the tourists aren't really bothering to comply at all. I wish parking was a little more affordable. It's great to have a parking garage available but $10 for a short visit seems steep and parking meters are rarely available.

I loved the location and selection of stores. I was disappointed that Johnny Rockets was out of business. It was extremely crowded with little to no mask wearing or social distancing. The location is more for the younger crowds with a mix of multi cultural guests.

Nice walk on the boardwalk. Store are fun to browse in and when you get hungry - a lot to choose from. At night, the view of the Ferris wheel is pretty cool

Out of all places i have visited this year, my most enjoyable was the boardwalk and beach at Myrtle Beach South Carolina. I went in May, so it wasn't very crowded, and i was able to have a great time with family. I would like to suggest renting an air bnb. I found this to be my best option especially with a large family. I would definitely love to visit Myrtle Beach again soon.

Parking is difficult. But worth it. There is plenty of shops and stores plus numerous food stands. It's a nice place to take a early morning or evening stroll and enjoy the ocean.

Be careful with the parking. There are cons around this place ready to tag your vehicle and charge exorbitant fine. Tarnishing image of this beautiful place.

Walked from the Hilton at the north end well past the ferris wheel each day or evening. Quintessential beach town stroll.

I wish they would redesign this area. It feels dirty with aggressive vendors. It’s not worth the trip. Parking is over $20 for 2 hours with bait and switch lots and the public garage the least affordable. They can do better!

Ocean front boardwalk was very nice. Plenty of food options as well as gift shops. Spent a good hour in the arcade. Nice atmosphere and clean.

Clean well maintained area . A lot to do and see and lots of food choices . We were there 4th of July week and it wasn’t crowded at all - certainly due to COVID concerns

The Boardwalk has unique shops and great food! You can also visit the best gift shop in Myrtle Beach, The Gay Dolphin. You can easily spend a day just walking around and public beac access is a minute away😁

There were so many shops to look at and so many types of food to try we didn't get them all in! We will need to take another vacation with additional days so that we can enjoy everything next time.

This area has lots of shops, restaurants, Ripley’s museum activities including mini golf, public restrooms, sky wheel, and park with music. There was a DJ type experience each night we were there. The last night they were teaching the kids to dance played some very family friendly stuff like cha cha slide. We had peach daiquiri slushies at 9 dollars each. They were good, especially because it was still hot at 7 in the evening. Lots of people playing volleyball and just enjoying the evening. Overall family friendly with some police visible during busiest times of the evening. Very grateful for their presence keeps everyone on their best behavior as it gets late at night. Lots of photo spots and easy access to the beach.

a lot to take in but if your looking to shop, eat, drink or be entertained you'll find something for everyone, I like just walking the length of the boardwalk and stopping every so often and just sit and watch the ocean

Ridiculously cheesy, HIGHLY overpriced place. For the two of us to ride rides, the price was insane. Not to mention two 'repair'men we're fixing a fence at the top of a coaster. Super safe feeling, NOT! it's less expensive and SAFER to go to Cedar Point. Don't waste your $.

always fun things to see or just people watch. Duffy's has a fantastic happy hour. great food, great prices and great staff

Lots of shops, something for everyone! Great food selections and recreational activities to participate in! Loved all the options and the general atmosphere. Friendly and helpful shop employees really made our day trip fun!

We took time to visit a couple of times. Walk and have a nice meal or grab a burger on the , you can't go wrong with the view.

a pleasant walk and watching the people and shops. a must do when visiting. parts of the old walkway are deteriorating and be careful from tripping

always a stop for our trip. good selection of food, bars and shops. every miss hitting the area up while there

We loved spending time on the boardwalk. Such a nice way to enjoy the beach without getting into the sand. Lots of seating, fun stores, & restaurants.

The Boardwalk was something several people told us we needed to do. They were right. It was so hot on this July day that we were extremely grateful to have the air-conditioned shops to pop into. Bring your walking shoes, swimsuits and towels, because we didn't and wished we had.

Great walk and lots of things to do. There were shops, restaurants, bars, family fun attractions and lots of eye candy!

We've walked other beach boardwalks and this one was not impressive. Dingy, dirty stores and restaurants and not really that much to do on the boardwalk itself. All the businesses needed a paint job and a cleaning. It wasn't worth our drive to say we did this during our week in Myrtle Beach.

The area is not good for little kids. Women flaunting their goods and kids just playing rap music and cruising the street. It's not family oriented anymore.

My mom and I visited the boardwalk as our first stop during our Myrtle Beach vacation. All of the amusement park rides were closed and/or under construction. There are a lot of sketchy people that were hanging out around here. Every shop has a person out front trying to lure you in to get henna tattoos or come inside. It’s definitely not a comfortable place. We did stop and get appetizers and beverages at a restaurant and that was decent. The boardwalk itself is cool and nice to be near the water but the area is trashy and we would not come back here again.

A good place to visit. Many shops and restaurants to visit and choose from. Obviously a tourist spot but a good place to visit. If with children late evenings may not be for them

Pretty good. Some shops and restaurants. Clean. Skywheel was not open at the time. Enjoyable to walk around.

We checked out the Boardwalk after sunset because we wanted to experience some of the night life in Myrtle Beach. Trying to park close to the boardwalk may seem mission impossible, especially along the busy N Ocean Blvd. However, there was plenty of street parking one-two blocks away from the boardwalk. We paid for parking using a mobile app (which was pretty convenient).
Most of boardwalks that I have seen are wide and relatively straight. Except for a relatively short region close to the Pyler Park, the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk is mostly winding and relatively narrow. There is a lot of activity on the north side of the boardwalk and things quiet down as you move south. There were just a few people walking / running / biking as we got close to the pier. It took us about 90 minutes to leisurely walk from Pyler Park to the pier and back. People were nice and offering to take family pictures. I also captured a few nice pictures of the (almost) full moon reflecting in the ocean waves. My experience was different from that expressed in some reviews claiming that the area was not safe.
Those looking for a quiet area to exercise or walk and listen to the waves would be happy in the south part of the boardwalk. Those interested in activities and more active nightlife would be happier around Pyler Park. The small amusement park seemed really busy. When we started walking away from Pyler Park (~ 8pm), a DJ was trying to start a party. By the time we came back, the party was in full swing. Many people of all ages were dancing and having a great time. The music stopped around 10pm leaving many people disappointed that the party was too short.

The various shops, eateries were very nice. There was a lot to do and it placed a smile on our faces

The Boardwalk in Myrtle Beach is family friendly. There are so many places to shop and eat. Pet friendly as well. You will leave with plenty of bags and smiles on your faces for sure.

Bring your walking shoes! This is a stop to see but it is a lot of walking. Lots of shops and places to eat!

Amazing golfing experience
Our airBNB was also perfect
The week was amazing also walked the boardwalk
Beach was nice no seaweed

Took a walk along the boardwalk, many things to do, many places to eat and get drinks. This place provides fun for the whole family and people of all ages.

Always a great place to walk. Lots of great fun along the way. Gift shops, arcades, food. Our fave place is the Fun Plaza. Always a great time 🎟

We parked on the street. There were many parking signs asking for $5 parking but look for street parking first. We loved the mermaid and dolphin statue as soon as you enter with the ferris wheel. There are live shows as well. Very few people are wearing masks. Even the restaurants on the boardwalk the servers do not have masks and there is no sanitizer on the boardwalk. We walked into some shops but it was very crowded with no social distancing. We were trying to be careful and did not dine on the boardwalk.

Seeing all of the nice cars and smiling faces on the boardwalk was the thing for me, watching guys catch fish on the pier was the icing on the cake.

There are so many people of no fixed home who call the beach and broadwalk their home. The biological discharge from these people makes this place smell awful.

Maybe it was the time of day we were there, in the early evening, but it just didn’t have a friendly feel

Nice area to walk around. A few decent shops and a few arcade type places. It was something to do, but not something I would HAVE to do again. Just wasnt really that much to do or look at. Seemed to be a place that a lot of loud and rowdy teens hang out.

This was better than I expected, but I will warn you that it is hot, hot, hot. We were there in May and it was about 80 degrees outside and we were roasting. I can't even imagine what this is like in the summer. Hey Myrtle Beach, plant some trees! A little shade would have made all the difference. There are several great photo op spots and, of course, the Gay Dolphin souvenir shop -- must see! We ate at the pier restaurant (can't remember the name of it) and have a fabulous view of the beach and the ocean as well as the pier. It's worth waiting for a window-side table (not that we had to wait in May, which is practically off season). The whole thing, other than eating and buying stuff, is free and familyy friend. Recommend.

We were not a huge fan of the area. Some areas seemed sketchy, some druggie looking people hanging out on the boardwalk.
We just spent a little time walking down the boardwalk. They were fixing a large portion of it. Stopped for ice cream. Parking seemed expensive. There are quite a few things for families to do, eat at, etc.
We prefer the North Myrtle Beach area. A step up.

We visited in October. There are many people, but some places are closed because of being the off-season. The boardwalk seemed like it had many shops that seem as if you’ve seen one you seen them all: souvenirs, henna, and custom tshirts again & again. We did enjoy the attractions we went to while there though. And enjoyed the ease of getting down to the water.

We usually drive from New Jersey to Mrystle beach great road trip down and love the broadwalk and promenade great shopping an places to eat.

Almost every street was blocked off so you could not get near any shops, restaurants or activities. Came down to participate not walk miles and pay outrageous fees for parking on Memorial Day Weekend!

We had a nice day to walk on the Boardwalk. It was a little windy. Very clean & lots of stores to check out.

Very scary place. People arguing on the boardwalk. Crazy man screaming at us as we walked by, about killing ladies. Tons of drunk people! Tons of other very shady people!

Fantastic place for families just not ket kids go alone. People party way too much. It's good music, fun arcades, cheap shoes and classic you should go to at least once. We go almost every year.

Avoid this run down cesspool. It was once a nice place but now you are much better off going to broadway at the beach.

The view is great and very big windows for seeing the view on the ferries wheel.A very beautiful founten to see.

Fun place to walk and watch. Tons of cool shops and places to eat. Plan ahead because the restaurants can book up fast and have long waits. We walked down here many times after dark from our hotel which was located about .75 mile south of here. We had no issues and enjoyed the view. There was live music in the park on a Friday night and people dancing in the grass. Street entertainers were out and yes a few homeless too. Welcome to beach city's. Its worth walking around and grab some food, drinks, or desert and enjoy the people watching. We felt safe the entire time and never say anything negative on Friday night and weekday nights.

If you're looking for some fun mixed with shopping, food, and attractions then this is the place to be. Attractions include the boardwalk, sky wheel, and museums. Lots of times there is also a DR or some type of music going on in the middle of the boardwalk area.

Shopping was great and Joes Crap Shack was delicious stuff! Although the corona virus 🦠 put s damper on n things we had a great experience 👍😊❤️

Beautiful place to walk and view of the ocean. Plenty of places to enjoy with family. Gift shops, arcades, ice cream and all sorts of restaurants to choose from.

The fireworks (set to music) over the lake on Tuesdays is spectacular. Feeding the fish was fun for our youngest daughter. The shopping was a favorite of our teen. And everyone loved Dave and Busters. With rides and so many things to see and do, we went two days in a row!

We felt very safe and everything is open. They could use more coffee places. Had a great time walking up and down. Very nice weather and no humidity in March. Met a lot of locals who love living here. Brought friends that are thinking of living here in the near future.

Love the addition of the selfie stations to stop and capture your picture at, as well as the new composite board walkways.

The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade was what you would expect from a beach town attraction. The shops were typically beachy and the restaurants were not very good, but very expensive. Most of the menus featured fried foods and pricey drinks. I would recommend getting off the boardwalk if you would like a good meal at fair prices.

The boardwalk itself was awesome. All of my beaching experience, I’ve never had an atmosphere of a boardwalk alongside the sand, so that was really cool. Although we stayed further south in Surfside, being able to relax on the beach, and then jet up to find food would be nice.
The main road behind it however was rather annoying. Shoulder to shoulder of people, used car salesman type people begging for you to get a Henna, or try their cbd vapes.

Went around 9am in May and there were no crowds. Beautiful views of the ocean. There is a mixture of shops but they do not overwhelm you. Lots of hotels and condos. It might be awful with large crowds but on a sunny day in May it was a great place to go for a morning walk. Signage explaining several things about the area was very informative.

Lots of fun because of all the venues and things to do. Even if you just want to walk around and people watch.

I took a morning walk while the teenagers were still asleep and really liked that the boardwalk went from my hotel (Holiday Inn at the Pavilion) all the way down to Pier 2. The boardwalk itself ends but there is a concrete pathway for the rest of the way. It was so enjoyable walking along early in the morning when not a lot of folks are out. There are also interesting facts you can read along the way. I walked the entire way on the boardwalk/path and then the beach back. Such good exercise and a nice walk.

The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk area is amazing. There’s food , fun & shopping!! What more could you ask for? There are numerous beach shops, the arcades, restaurants or snack places & of course the beautiful ocean! The Sky Wheel is located right here as well as the famous Gay Dolphin! Just a wonderful place to go & spend the day or evening. I wouldn’t miss it

Best oysters ever!!! Great food and location. Friendly staff. We had live music and it was wonderful sitting outside off the ocean with great food wonderful music and top drinks served.

Kind of like New Orleans Bourbon Street on the water! Smelly and gross. One sign stated it was the best teen nightlife 😳. It was above a piercing and tattoo shop! Not the kind of stuff I want to expose my kids to. A lot of homeless, drunks, and smokers on the boardwalk. If you are thinking of going to Myrtle beach with a family go the north side more family oriented and quieter.

Lots of very interesting shops and restaurants. Take a full day or more to enjoy your time here. Many shops I have never heard of before.

Boardwalk is Very clean and has a good crowd and good food. Located in South Myrtle Beach. Ample parking.

I had a nice walk on the boardwalk & around the Promenade. Because of the weather, it was not crowded & I loved it. A few people walking around & not bumping into each other.

Not our style so just drove through asap then moved on. Environment seemed cheap and would not bring young children to the shopping/eating area. Beach area was okay but better choices elsewhere in our opinion.

Walk with caution. Less than 1 minute after my wife and I started down the boardwalk a homeless man asked me for a cigarette. Less than a minute after that a homeless man asked me for money and got mad when I would not give him any. There were several people smoking pot right out in the open. There were many, many panhandlers and homeless people. Just not a place that felt safe.

Two shootings in 1 week. Crowds not control. I use to feel so safe walking down there now I would not let my family out of my sight for fear of the low lifes going unchecked.

We had so much fun yes the attractions are alittle bit expensive but walking around is free enjoying the view we had so much fun

We took our dog along and walked the entire length of the boardwalk. We passed many restaurants, tourist & beachy shops, the ferris wheel, and music venues. Easy walk.

Variety of shops kind of crowded and a bit sketchy. Few stores but mostly plain souvenir shops. Just ok.

This was one of the top things we wanted to do while visiting. There are a ton of places to eat, drink and shop at while walking the boardwalk. Some places are better than others, but that's to be expected. The only down side was the wind. It was blowing super hard while we were walking up and down the boardwalk, but it didn't slow us down! The sun was shining and we were on vacation. It's a MUST when you visit.

The store fronts here on the Boardwalk have been here for much longer than 40 years and have character unseen anywhere in the nation. The Gay Dolphin is a visit in and of itself and every time you go you'll likely find something else you didn't even think of or notice the last time.

nice place has a lot to offer, happy hour, varies restaurants but all closes down by eight o clock Bountry has great burgers and great bands

I really liked the boardwalk for so many reasons. It is not too long (maybe 2 to 3 miles ?) so you can stroll the whole length of it in an afternoon. There are about 10 blocks of shops and dining nearby with lots of variety. You have beautiful ocean views and beach access from it and while about a mile or so of it is the old timey plank boards, the rest is a winding path with beautiful landscaping and flowers all around you.

Everything is conveniently located. There are plenty of restaurants and entertainment. Parking is rather difficult. We did see someone get towed, so be careful! Pier 14 and the sky wheel are easily accessible and enjoyable!

Lots of shops, rides, restaurants. The Skywheel is here. Lovely walk on the boardwalk next to the ocean especially with a breeze.

Absolutely loved the stroll along the Atlantic the historical placards every block or so were great! The Fun House arcade was a treat 😎

We rode the skywheel and walked around to some shops. There is a lot to do here. My daughters ride a couple of other overpriced rides. We were told by a local guy not to go at night because there are shootings and robberies at least once a week at night.

The boardwalk needs to be refurbished and cleaned. Careful parking at meters as the city is eager to ticket if you go over. If you are there better to pay for Garage Parking. Presence of meter personal as prevalent as homeless. Not much to do except eat or drink. I was turned off by retail shops merchandise and overall cleanliness. Not much to see off the Pier except people fishing.

When I think of boardwalks, I expect all the cheesy arcades and food joints, not to mention the weird gift shops selling hermit crabs. These were all on the block behind the boardwalk; so the boardwalk is mainly there to keep your feet off the sand as you walk down the beach

So much to do and see! There are a ton of shops, games, rides, and things to do! We could easily spend all day here! I would definitely go back again!

Lots of people watching and walking everywhere. There was a good singer performing in the evening and lots to see and do.

We stayed at Homewood Suites right at the beach. I hadn't been at the Boardwalk for years, and was very pleased with the way it was renovated. The curved walkway and landscaping made it feel very relaxed. Every public entrance to the beach had an interesting "sail" look, and an intereesting fact about the area. It was well lit at night and I felt safe.
I walked along between the pier and the skywalk, and it was wonderful!

It was a beautiful day. We enjoyed walking along the beach and the boardwalk is available for those that prefer an easier walk. Lots of shops and restaurants unavailable for your enjoyment

We do love the boardwalk. This year was a little different as COVID had most shops either closing early or closed. There wasn’t very many people so it was like we had the place to ourselves!

There are a lot of shopping places for beach ware, souvenirs and places to grab something to eat. Rides for kids.

The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade is the epitome of the Grand Strand! A wonderful walk with views of the ocean, sculptures, restaurants, attractions and stores to head into. A great place to hear the ocean and be part of the action!
The Sky wheel is a sight in itself! A wonderful ride to view the beach 🏝️
Colorful sculptures make for some fun photos!
Gay Dolphin, our all-time fave souvenir shop has numerous levels of anything you could possibly want!
Great for kids! Definitely a must visit!
Wheelchair accessible entrance and parking.

Definitely a dirtier area of Myrtle Beach. I wouldn’t feel safe alone at night. Did love the boardwalk right next to the beach, but overall not worth it.
I would check out Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing.

no boardwalk to enjoy. Not sure what the hype was to see Myrtle Beach, we were disappointed. Stayed less than an hour. Paid $5 to park

Walking the boardwalk and stopping at a few places along the way was great. Lots of places to choose to eat. Fun day.

Boardwalk is beautiful. Goes from one pier to the skywheel. Great if you don't want to walk in the sand.

Not what we would have thought for a family vacation destination. Pot smell everywhere with explicit lyrics blasting from stores. Behavior and local characters were also an issue. City has alot of cleaning up to do here if you expect normal families to pay to park and then spend $$. Advice: go elsewhere to Broadway on the beach etc.,

NOT SAFE
As snowbirds, we try to get to the boardwalk every year. I said to my husband “ remind me not to come here again”. We felt it was an unsafe environment for locals and visitors alike. Too many homeless people, too much cray cray behavior. I loved walking the boardwalk but I definitely felt this is an environment I want to avoid. I saw on the news, during our stay, that the locals are going to the City Council meetings complaining about the same issue. Obviously, something needs to be done.

It was okay. Reminds me of the movie scene on "Big" with Tom Hanks. The boardwalk is just that. Boards. Very wide and accommodating for many people. We didnt feel overcrowded at all. Access to the beach in many places as well. Cute little shops and eateries along the way.

So many unusual shops and fun things to do. Rides and strange different shops to wander through.. They play the star spangled banner every time the Ferris wheel goes red, white, and blue.. It was interesting to see how many people stop -remove their hats and stand for it..

Great for people watching ,lots of lively characters, live music, dancers , and your typical souvenir shops , nice way to spend the evening

The complex is very cool so much to do, we had drinks at Margaritaville, Lunch at Paula Deens, check out all the neat stores , really enjoyable, would go again and tell my friends

The design of the boardwalk was nice. The shops and restaurants seem to be a bit dated. Generally clean with lots of access to the beach.

We have visited Myrtle Beach often. We love to walk and check out the ocean and people watch. We have found the restaurants to be pretty good and not outrageous prices. In the first picture, the man has a live parrot on each shoulder.

Had a very pleasant few hours walking the Boardwalk. Had lunch at the Landshark and enjoyed a nice walk along the ocean. We had our dogs with us which is always a great conversation starter. Met the nicest people from all over the South. We had perfect weather and we timed our trip between Spring Break and the summer rush. A nice way to spend a few hours.

We had great food guys played golf daily. Weather was good. Evening entertainment was great!! Beautiful surroundings sunsets are amazing

Fun place to walk around and enjoy the various shops and ice cream. My grandkids enjoyed the face painting. Lots of cute shops and restaurants.

This place is very rough. It’s not a place for family at all. Dangerous a lot more going on there than just shopping. Don’t go anywhere near it of night !
This place is for maybe 20 year olds then you better have good running shoes. Lies people tell to get you there. Needs to be cleared out with police ! We only stayed a little and realized it was dangerous. We left. Don’t put family at risk !

Great fun place for all ages. There is plenty of shopping and places to eat .. Boat rides... Amusement parks you can spend the day here

Great time renting skis. We had a blast and crew was awesome. Even though started raining we waited it out and they were great about it

I don't think this was here the last time I visited Myrtle Beach but that was many years ago. It's free, has views and access to the ocean and is away from the noisy traffic. Not as crowded as the sidewalks either. We walked it after our evening meal and were almost able to walk all the way to our hotel. It looks well maintained and is mostly wood and composite wood. I wouldn't want to walk on it barefoot because of the wood but I saw several people doing it.

Spent some time on the Boardwalk last week. Enjoyed walking around and eating at several of the restaurants over a 5 day period. Everyone was very friendly, the views were really nice, and the areas were maintained quite well. We enjoyed our time down there and look forward to visiting again!

My husband and I visited Myrtle Beach for the first time and loved walking along the Boardwalk. It’s pet friendly all day time of year and our puppy enjoyed it too. The walkways out to the beach are great. There’s lots of places to sit and enjoy the view, and the foliage is lovely. We will definitely be back to enjoy it some more.

Myrtle Beach, SC, has a good place to visit many souvenirs, Food, Arcades and activities, are cold when we visit but we have fun and it's beautiful the beach

There are so many different ways to experience the Myrtle Beach area, but everyone comes together at the boardwalk area which is centrally located. The arcades are fun and there are plenty of stores to look around. The area sometimes attracts a rougher crowd later in the evening so my favorite time is the morning.

went there years ago. it was booming and so many shops and places to eat. i was very disappointed but maybe it was the time of year??? there was a cute shop 80's retro shop

We go here a few times on our vacations. It's a great place to shop, eat and just hang out. Lots to see and to here.

Our hotel was along this promenade. It is a neat place to walk, as well as see different restaurants and stores.

This place is turning into another trashy beach town. That once was a small fun town for so many decades.

The boardwalk is classy and reminds us of some locations we have been to along the California coast (Venice Beach). It is an excellent place to spend a summer’s day.

Relaxing stroll along the beach and boardwalk. I enjoyed all the restaurant/bar options. Lots of souvenir shops, ice cream parlors and arcades. Perfect for families, friends, couples or solo! I had a blast going alone! You meet more people. Highly recommend 'Art Burger Sushi' for lunch or dinner. Amazing food! 'Boardwalk coffee house' has delicious frappes! Have drinks at 'Pier 14' and watch the sunset while enjoying live music!

Area a little run down. Wish there was more of the old arcade stands for quarters. Not worried about the prizes, more interested in spinning the wheel and winning. Fun for a night!

We enjoy just walking around, seeing what the different shops have to offer. We got some great buys on long sleeve t-shirts for the whole family.

It was a nice place. Nice places to eat but not as good as I had heard it was. Moe Moons was excellent and th staff and management were outstanding.

It's a sh*t show. I have no idea how these folks can write reviews that say it's great. It is dirty, run down, cheap, gross and nasty. There is a nice promenade that runs from about 17th Street down to the center of the square, and every single bench along the way had homeless people sitting there. The shops are cheap t-shirt places, the food places are nasty little grease pits. Not one nice thing there. The restaurant on the pier was surprisingly good and the Bowery was a cool place. Everything else is rotten.

board walk is in great shape has places to sit and rest a more active area with arcades food etc then area just walking by hotel fronts.

Absolutely would go again, in fact already planning another trip next year. Recommend going after Labor Day as the crowds are starting to lessen and temperature a little milder. Also recommend getting the full experience and stay at a hotel or resort on the beach.

Full of teenagers and rowdy people smoking weed, screaming loudly and running around. The cops are always busy chasing people and stopping drunks. Beggars asking for money and people half naked in very inappropriate clothing (if you have kids with you, it’s not a sight to see). It’s okay to visit during the day, but the night turns bad and it’s best to stay away.

👍🏾 one of the spots where the action is.
Live and in color, nice walk with family and friends, plenty of fun in the sun

Went to the boardwalk it was very nice. Will go back and check out more stores and restaurants. We couldn't stay longer which was a bummer but we'll go back again

There was so much amusement and entertainment on the broad walk the food was great and my daughter enjoyed the music in the middle of the pavilion

Dirty, trashy, run down, over rated. You need to have really low expectations to think the boardwalk is a desirable destination. The boardwalk and especially the street on the other side is shady. There are families, many probably expected something iconic, but go at your own risk.

Myrtle Beach was peaceful! The beach was relaxing and the water was calming. The weather was amazing. We went around 6pm and it was very peaceful!

There is something for everyone to see or do here! There are so many shops along the boardwalk. Take the day and enjoy it!

Let me start by saying (PLEASE) avoid any hotel or resort near the boardwalk this place is horrible run down dirty and besides the junkies, trouble and crime this area is a real dump. Over price hotels and resorts the beach photos they have on the websites are not what you are going to get. If you thinking about visiting the boardwalk go early and leave soon as it gets dark traffic is back up and people everywhere. Please vacation somewhere else this is a total let down.

Myrtle Beach & the Boardwalk are awesome, but when you cross the street the stores and entertainment are all very sketchy, and not at all family friendly! I wouldn't even consider wondering around here at night. I would suggest sticking to the Beach area, and enjoying walking along the expansive Boardwalk! Gorgeous area, but has become rundown and the Myrtle Beach family-friendly entertainment has moved inland!

We shopped. Our grandson played in the arcade and go carted across the street. He zip lined for the first time in his life at 13 years old over the water at the Boardwalk. We had great ice cream and Ben & Jerry's. The weather was wonderful after all the storms we had at home. There is a lot of activity at the Boardwalk for purchase and some free. We always make sure to visit when we get to Myrtle Beach.

I was able to freely enjoy the shops, restaurants, and sky wheel at my leisure. The choice of foods was awesome.

My wife and I loved hanging out at the boardwalk and shopping. We loved how there were so many things to do in one place.

Nice boardwalk to walk on. Restaurants on the board were enjoyable. Parking was very expensive. Need more washrooms. Area was nice

I absolutely love the boardwalk as we visit every time we go to Myrtle Beach. I love the fish and food. I love the fact its a lot of shops to visit in one location. I love that it has something for the entire family to do.

We love going for a walk along this well maintained boardwalk on some of the days that we are not golfing. Its pretty quiet during the winter months and a few businesses, including piers, are not yet open.

What a disappointment. Very few Harley's, more crotch rockets playing loud foul mouthed music and probably more everyday cars and trucks driving the circle then motorcycles. If you like bad behavior, disrespectful music and virtually no Harleys, visit downtown MB during bike week. NOT what we expected after being present for prior bike weeks. Can't believe MB or business owners were happy with this poor display of Harley Bike Week.

Tons of different shops and hotels. Doesn't feel like a very safe area and it's hard to find parking.

Very beautiful area and enjoy reminiscing. Be sure to wear shoes on most of it because if splinters. There are parts that are smooth and nice too. It does make me sad that there are many homeless people on benches and carrying around their belongings.

Typical of Myrtle Beach…no handicap access whatsoever. You don’t want to vacation here. For those who are younger and have lots of patience and stamina, go for it. This is a great place for you.

Unfortunately most of the little shops were closed. I guess due to the time of year but it was still so nice a pretty. Walking right along the ocean with a little ice cream from the shops. Was the perfect day.

Don't call this boardwalk. You aren't even close to the beach. All it is is same stores and more money to spend.

We like it it was different. Salt Taft and clothes, jewlery, food, drinks. Nice cold big parking Alot

Went with my 12 year old daughter to get henna tattoos done at the shop between Bargain Beachwear and Kings. Price for a small tattoo was $10 so my daughter and I got two larger designs a piece. It was my fault for not asking before we started but I didn’t think anything of it. After all was said and done, four tattoos were over $500. I was charged $180 a piece for mine and my daughter’s were $65 and $85! Part of the charges were for the ink and the stencil for one of my daughter’s. The worst part is that I have no way to get hold of anyone to make a complaint about the charges. Lesson learned, I will never do that again. It’s a far cry from the $30 one’s I have gotten before. I could have gotten a real tattoo for that price.

Very clean . Friendly people. A great tourist attraction for all. Very colorful. Very active and energetic

We went in the off season so the beach and boardwalk were pretty empty despite the nice temperatures. You'd think they would have more traffic but this place truly shuts down in the off season. A lot of places close very early if they open at all. That being said, for those that are open, it's just okay. Lots of very cheesy gift shops and restaurants that are way overpriced. The piers also charge you to walk out on them which...is a new one for me! I've never had that happen because most people just set up shop along the pier to catch business. Oh well, we are in no rush to return.

The boardwalk is a good length and gives a fun view of the beach and strip. On our visit it was super crowded and dirty. We even passed some vomit. Yuk!

You can walk the boardwalk that is located between the ocean and all the shops/restaurants/bars etc. Lots to see and do here, you can pop up to the main street (Ocean Blvd..I think) pretty much anytime you want where there are many shops/restaurants as well.

From the very young to the very old, something is there for everyone. Great food, souvenirs, rides and more. It is just one of the attractions you can not miss, and it is affordable.

What a pleasure to walk out of our hotel and immediately have a level, wide area for walking. We were here in January during the week, so we were not having to fight for space. I can certainly see this being a popular place in the summer months. Easy access to the beach, showers, very well thought out. We walked from one end to the other and back and loved our time here. Thank you to whomever was responsible for this.

We visit Myrtle Beach each February and our hotel is close to the beginning, near 2nd Ave, of the Promenade. For me it is a wonderful and relaxing walk. Not only are there plantings, palm trees etc along the way but a clear view of the ocean. You then reach the boardwalk and my usual walk continues all the way to the end at the new Hilton Vacation Club hotel. We try to do this walk daily barring any crazy weather. So far so good.

First time in Myrtle Beach. Always wanted to go. My advice, don't bother. The boardwalk area is a complete carnival environment. Great for teens and young adults.

Lots of different shops and attractions. Kid friendly places and food. I recommend browsing all shops before making purchases because some shops are definitely cheaper than others carrying the same merchandise.

There are so many shops and restaurants along the boardwalk. It's a must to just walk around and check everything out.

Loved the view and options, soa 2 pools ,beach ,and lazy river. Beds are spacious. Small kitchen etc made room for food and ice. I wasn't thrilled with being on 11th floor. Everything was great staff was very helpful.

SO many stores to visit of all kinds. Plenty of restaurant options. Rides and attractions for young kids. It is a large area so plan to walk. We did the mirror maze which was very fun. Also got some beef jerky, hot sauce, pretzel, lemonade and some shopping.

A lot of complaints about how rough the crowd can be. Either I didn’t see it or I’ve got thicker skin. Sure I got hit up by a panhandler and there were some kids “sagging” their pants, but that’s the world we live in, get over it. Went with 12 and 15 y.o. And at no point did it feel unsafe. Actually left broadway at the beach to come back here a 2nd night. Did the old time photos (35$) and hit up the little souvenir shops. We didn’t do the arcades or ripely attractions because we’d done them before. Enjoyed the ny pizza place and had tasty oysters at the “dirty dicks” or something like that.

Talk about a time warp. Very dated, dirty, and all stores are glorified hawker stands. I would never take young children down this strip. Sketchy even taking teens. All stores sell cheap cheesy products that went out with the 70's. Some are probably hold overs from the 70's. If you like that sort of thing then its great. Also this area is one place to be mindful of your surroundings. Overall trashy.

Very enjoyable and parts of the board walk were just lovely with flowers and the ocean so close! We had fun stopping in the many shops and at the East end (I believe?) we went to a bar with seating right over the ocean.

Tourist trap, overpriced, poor service, poor food and need of repair. Look, i understand we are visiting during low season but there is no excuse for rude service or bad food no matter what time of the year you travel.

So many things to see and the employees in all of the shops were so great! There were many places to sit and watch the tourists. People with limited walking ability may have difficulty without a wheelchair.

Really liked walking along the Boardwalk...lots of shops, restaurants, and bars to stop along the way. Nice fireworks display New Years Eve.

We enjoyed walking most of the length of the boardwalk. Not really into shopping but it was fun to see all the shops and little bars, ice cream shops, and restaurants along the way. There are a couple cute photo stops that kids seem to enjoy as well as live performers here and there. It seemed very safe and busy at all hours of the day. We walked all the way to the wheel and to pier 14; at pier 14 you can pay $1 and walk all the way out to the end where we watched some guys fishing. ONe caught a little bonnet head shark which he photographed and then thankfully released ! It would be pretty hot in the bright daylight so I recommend walking it in the evening near sunset. There were a lot of restaurants but I didn't see any that really struck my fancy; I thought there was one on Pier 14 but it kind of looked more like a bar? We were going to ride the wheel but honestly our hotel room was on floor 17 so we figured we got just as good a view there.... it would have been fun if youve never been on a big sky wheel before. It was pretty expensive for a ticket so we skipped it to use for a dinner instead.! We ducked into the Gay Dolphin gift shop; it is huge but not really anything special as far as what they offer. Typical kitschy stuff --- and i couldn't find a single post card for sale!!! I guess post cards are a thing of the past!

I usually just go here to walk. Shops, arcades, food and drink available. Just be careful and don't get ripped off at the rides. Use coupons.

We shopped and walked the entire property. They are adding onto the East side for more experiences. Lots of restaurant to choose from. We enjoyed Paula Dean's.

Recent visit to Myrtle Beach with my daughter. I always book a hotel on the Boardwalk because we enjoy walking on the Boardwalk and enjoying the shops and entertainment. This year we couldn't walk on the Boardwalk due to constantly being accosted by panhandlers and what appeared to be inebriated men who would call out to us as we walked by. I was afraid for myself, a woman, but more so for my daughter, a young woman. We did not feel safe at all, and did not attempt to walk the Boardwalk again during our visit there. The panhandling, homeless people, and people under the influence have seemingly taken over the Boardwalk as well as the beach. Isn't the city of Myrtle Beach concerned with this? Surely the hotels would not want their guests to feel unsafe while staying there. My advice is stay away from the Boardwalk.

Great place to walk, check out the stores, see the ocean. No crowds in early spring. As a local, we enjoy this area in March (too many people for me in the summer!)

We live in South Florida. A short swim from Sanibel Island. So, when we stopped for a two night layover in Myrtle Beach, I guess that I expected at least a bit of the waterfront grace and elegance that I'm used to... But! that was far from the case. For in my opinion, Myrtle Beach is a total sh#@ Box. Everything about the place was punctuated with pop tops and cigarette butts. And the very next morning we headed out of town, to somewhere that didn't reek of stale cigarette smoke. And please don't think I'm a snob, because I came up surfing the Pier at Santa Cruz, and Santa monica as well. I know the beach. And I know the boardwalk. And in my seasoned opinion, just pass the Myrtle Beach exit and keep on driving...

We hadn't been to the boardwalk before so we went this time. Our hotel gave us a ride there and told us to call when we were ready to come back. They are doing construction there but it just felt very seedy to me. I can't imagine traffic in the summer. They really need to clean up the place.

The carnival is very scammy!! They charge for all aged kids but u must also pay for the adult that MUST go with the younger child EVEN if that child is sitting on your lap. You must pay for the adult even if it's a kids ride yrs or younger 🤔. Ask for management and Josh the supervisor said he many parents complain but nothing he can do. This place is all about stealing your hard 💰 money. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

Had a great time with my family . We visit 2-4 times every year . Amazing food and there’s a lot to do for kids and adults. Highly recommended:)

I absolutely love this boardwalk and wish to enjoy it for years to come...however, it is the case that this has become a sitting area for the local homeless, drug addicted population to hang out together in groups and smoke cigarettes. I witnessed drug deals on a Friday at noontime. I am sad this is allowed to happen in a place frequented by families. Not once did we see police asking them to move along.

We were there in December. The weather was mild, it wasn’t crowded and just great for a daily walk. Stopped in the arcade for some fun!

We enjoyed a leisurely walk on the boardwalk. Great shops and beach! Please note that there are limited public restrooms.

I felt as if it was run down and needed lots of improvements. The restaurants were definitely higher priced.

Definitely will be visiting again to finish the boardwalk. It had so much to offer for visitors. One day was not enough.

We took a walk with the boys and it was nice. I was surprised that the attraction was only the gift shop stores and restaurants...perhaps i was expecting more (games and some rides, etc..) Overall the skywheel is the best!

I wish I could give it a higher rating. The people are genuinely nice and the weather is lovely. Beach is beautiful. And the kids had a blast, which is always important.
It just seems like the place has seen better days and is on a downturn.
All the buildings (even the resorts) are just run down and dated.
If they invested in the city, it could really shine.

The boardwalk itself is very nice and is well maintained. The boards look recently replaced. The beach there is nice (but I think that is true of most of the grand strand). They have a few signs along the way to show some historical events. Several homeless people hangout there and we kept running into smokers that made the walk unpleasant. The part that goes by all of the junky bars and junky tourist trap stores was our least favorite. We did pay to go out on the pier and that was the best part (and had a restroom to use if you paid for the pier). They only charged $1 a piece. If you get there before 9 am city parking is free and I think city metered street spots may be the least expensive option after 9am.

lots of shops and interesting finds. rides are lit up at night. the beach is right there as well. great place to explore.

Having a paved walkway to walk along the beach was so pleasant. It was clean and well kept.
It is lined with stores and hotels on one side and the beach and ocean on the other side.

Thinking this was a good place to take a walk but the area is filled with homeless and bums. Makes you feel very uncomfortable to say the least. Maybe summmer is better with more people around but not for me.

We loved our Myrtle Beach vacation!!! The Boardwalk was clean and pleasant to walk with beautiful views of the ocean. We strolled 2nd Ave Pier and Pier 14. 2nd Ave Pier is longer and makes you feel like your in the ocean itself. Ocean Boulevard has alot to enjoy...restaurants, amusement, and gift shops...Lazy Parrot was my favorite...Gay Dolphin was the worse.. it smells stale and is cluttered with merchandise.
We ate breakfast at Johnny D's (the Red Velvet Waffle is a must...I did not like the Pound Cake French Toast), Lulu's Cafe (the Banana Foster's French Toast was delicious), and Croissants which was our absolute favorite...the Cinnamon Rolls were impeccable!!!
We ate dinner at Wicked Tuna (the Shrimp and Grits were tasty but the drinks not so much), Sea Captain's House (I did not like the Shrimp and Grits but the restaurant and grounds is lovely), and Riptydez which was our favorite dining experience...everything we ordered was delicious...the Chicken Egg Rolls are outstanding...the chicken wings, and fried shrimp are good too.
Besides enjoying the beautiful Atlantic Ocean, Myrtle Beach also has adventurous excursions. We did the Banana Boat Ride and Helicopter.
*There is a homeless presence so be careful at night.

So much to see and do you couldn't possibly do it all in one day. Lots restaurants, ice cream, candy, souvenir/shopping, family enjoyment (haunted house, arcade,, beach) bike and go carts to rent. Ferris wheel, helicopter rides. So much! Traffic along Ocean Blvd is very, very busy. Parking available for $15 all day in some areas and much more in others.
My only complaint is that so many of the local shops reeked of Marijuana and I would not go inside. Some were so bad, I waited on curb for my friends bc I could smell it outside on sidewalk. Lots of areas you could smell it but didn't know where it was coming from. I'm highly allergic to it and guess there is no consideration for that, let alone the fact the smell is pungent.
Overall, this is a must go to place in Myrtle Beach.

Great walk from pier 14 to pier 2nd street. There were plaques along the walk with historical significance.
Recommended highly.

The boardwalk is not worth seeing. Just a walkway on ocean . All stores nearby were trashy tourists traps. Lot of carnival food and small ride parks . Wanted to see because we were staying in north Myrtle beach on ocean. Glad we did not stay near this junk.

The boardwalk can be fun but it also can be miserable. Your experience is going to be highly dependent on the weather and the other people visiting that day. If it's too hot, you will be miserable. If the boardwalk is full of obnoxious people, you will be miserable. If the weather is good and everyone around is acting like decent human beings, you will have a good time.

Spent an enjoyable stroll on Myrtle Beach Boardwalk with my wife. There are many shops to buy souvenirs and arcades. It was also fun just sitting in the sun and people watch.

Lovely area to stroll and take in the sights and shopping. Arcades, The Gay Dolphin Gift Shop, The Sky Wheel and lots of places to eat and shop. We always make a stop there.

Our first visit was in the day when the sun was beaming and the temps were climbing. We did some shopping and a little sightseeing, but it became too hot walking in the sun so we left earlier than planned.
We decided to try it again in the evening and it was much better. Foot traffic was considerably down and the Boardwalk at night was a pretty sight with everything lit up.
We had some drinks at one of the bars along the way (can't remember the name but drinks were decent). Afterwards, we took a leisurely stroll along the beach and enjoyed the night.
Lots of bars, shops, and places to eat on the Boardwalk. Enjoyed it!

There is something for everyone at the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade. Games, foods, souvenirs can all be found here. Definitely visit the boardwalk when in this area.

This is in the tougher part of town. The promenade is pretty along the beach. Most shops are one block in but are mostly run down. Some areas are improved with a newer parket-and newer businesses such as "It's Sugar " and Ripley's Believe it or not. Try Pier 14 to fish and it's restaurant is good.

bigger then what it looks like from the outside. They had a lot of places to eat. you could feed the fish and the turtles that are there in the water.

The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade in Myrtle Beach is a fun place to go and experience all things Myrtle Beach with a walk along the beach with restaurants, entertainment, and much more. I like that this exists and it is always worth checking out and walking when you are in the area because you will always see something new or unusual here.

My 3 teens loved the Boardwalk. Live entertainment in the park, fireworks at 10, fun shopping and people watching. Outside dining with ocean views was spectacular! Sky Wheel is always great and the view is unmatched! Kids liked the Sling Shot a lot. The Bowery is a must as well.

Nice promenade that runs along the boardwalk restaurants and tee shirt shops. We were there in November and they were putting up holiday decorations. It appears they have a lovely light display. My only complaint was that there are no benches on the boardwalk for people to sit and just watch the waves. The benches they do have are near the north end of the boardwalk and they were taken by what appeared to be vagrants.

Nice boardwalk. There are plenty of shops and restaurants. Hotels are also located on the boardwalk. Nice and clean with plenty of opportunities to step over to the beach. There are also tons of places to stop and just admire the ocean. Nice relaxing vibe with music in the background. We went in the morning and it wasn't too busy. Nice visit. Enjoy!

Lots of things to see and do around. Nice for shopping, eating and sightseeing. Nice for couples, the entire family -even for families with small children. Of course, it is better to visit this place when it is not too cold. A number of stores are closed during cold season.

this whole area is beautiful just stroll the boardwalk near the ocean, find a restaurant and eat, some are Ocean views, several shops , so much to see and do. We want to visit again for sure!!

It's an odd layout for a boardwalk. I enjoyed the walk, though. I didn't eat at the restaurants, but had some ice cream. I bet it's a lot of fun when there's special events, especially live music.

Clean, friendly and safe. Great food and lots to do. Easy to park with in a block of the broad walk. Many shops and attractions.

A lot of fun to walk along the ocean. The shops are plenty and the folks are Very friendly and helpful. The restaurants were open & even with short staff they did a fantastic job at Sharkys. I would recommend spending time enjoying the boardwalk.

Aside from the sky wheel and beach access I do not feel this is a place I’d ever visit again. Very crowded, overpriced souvenirs, constant stream of vehicles driving down the street more concerned about showing off than they are about driving safely given how close people are. Broadway on the beach was by far superior

Nice boardwalk and shops. Moe Moons Bar and Grill had the best grilled chicken tacos!! We went to the beach second day and had the taco’s on the beach also….

Loved our short time on the Boardwalk. There was a live band playing at the Hang Out best of the 90's everyone was having a great time. Boardwalk was very clean with plenty of shops for whatever you liked. I can't wait to go again.

We had to see the Myrtle Beach boardwalk and it was fun. We visited in the morning/early afternoon so it was pretty quiet, but still nice. The entire boardwalk is about 1.2 miles long, so we were able to walk from one end to the other pretty easily. There are typical stores to visit, but the real fun is just strolling and enjoying the beach vibe. I found the area to be clean and felt very safe. I also recommend visiting the Gay Dolphin Gift Shop. It’s an amazingly huge store with tons of oddities. It’s all family friendly, so if the name causes you concern, there’s no need for that ;). Kids especially will find it a fun store.

Nice area with lots of open space and lots of shops to walk into. Pleny of police around to control the crowd.

The boardwalk is just something you have to see when you come to Myrtle Beach. Beautiful view, and even though it's a little touristy, still a great thing to spend a day on.

If you are in the myrtle beach area this is a must do. They have something for everyone from food to shopping and even a speed boat ride in the middle of the boardwalk.

I love the shopping. I also love taking my grands to the 🎡. There is so much to do here. We can't wait to go back

Our hotel was right on the boardwalk and we loved strolling in the evenings. Very well kept and patrolled often.

All parking is paid unless you’re staying at a hotel. The boardwalk was nice and clean. There were lots of restaurants and bars. Some souvenir shops. Just what you would expect. All attractions were closed when we went

Being able to shop and eat along the beach is great! Everything is within walking distance from a lot of hotels. Parking can be a bit congested if you drive.

A place to people watch, plenty of places to eat drink, arcade, many gift shops and rides. We parked over on 14th avenue for 2 hours to park it cost us $20. I wanted to do 3 hours parking but that was $30.

Just walked and took in the atmosphere of the boardwalk. Sometimes that is all you need to do. It was a cloudy and breezy day, but still a nice day for a walk.

Historic Boardwalk with plenty of activities and restaurants along the 1.2 mile length. Interesting history placards along the route and good views of the beach. The iconic Skywheel is currently (Feb. 2021) dismantled due to re-furbushing.

Crowded. Felt like we were at the county fair with workers standing out in front of their stores trying to coerce people to buy something—“Come get a T-shirt for your kids to show them you love them” was being barked out to one family group. Other than watching the beach waves there isn’t much to enjoy at this location.

Giant Ferris wheel was impressive but expensive per person. The shops were quaint. The restaurants are not plentiful. No covered seating to stop and enjoy the scenery.

I love everything about it!!!!! I went once with my family and again with my boyfriend. My boyfriend and I visit Myrtle Beach at least 4-5 times a year and love visiting the Boardwalk.

Had a great time with the kids. Distancing... no, but we were cautious and did what we had to do..Dancing, eats, games, rides. The beach all fun!

What a lovely way to take a walk. About 2 miles round trip. Beautiful ocean views, some nice restaurants and bars and even a Ferris wheel!

Love to spend a day here every time we are in myrtle beach. Fun place to people watch and find fun trinkets.

Maybe my expectations were high based on previous boardwalk experiences in other places. It's pleasant but not impressive.

This is a poor excuse for a boardwalk. There are so many homeless people asking for money. We were told from locals it is a very dangerous place to go at night so stay away. It’s dirty and dingy and so many people were clearly high on drugs. Not a good place for a family with younger children. There’s so many better places like Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing to visit. Don’t waste your time going here. And the cheapest parking we found was $10 for a boardwalk that was super short. It’s absolutely not a mile long. Don’t go here.

Nice chilly Saturday afternoon stroll. I'm not sure what we expected. I just remember growing up in NJ and the boardwalk at 'the shore'. This boardwalk is like the back entrances to restaurants and gift shops along the 'strip'. Some colorful characters along the way.

I always try to visit at least once or twice while visiting here! The morning waves and high tide is beautiful, I enjoy a cup of coffee and observe the beauty of the ocean and some shops that’s already open early.
Many great shops, places to eat and drink and of course the beach! Amazing Sky Wheel and other attractions and the Bowery! I highly recommend and always visit here while in the area~

This place is so unorganized and has bad customer service. I do not recommend. Not the best place to go. Better off buying your own food from the grocery store and going to a claw machine. They were racist towards my group of people.

This was a fun place to walk around and opted to ride the sky wheel. We arrived after dinner and I will say after about 9 pm families were leaving and the area was looking a little rough. I would definitely say to not stay past 9 pm. We enjoyed talking a stroll on the pier and a ride on the Skywheel. There other amusement rides and plenty of places to eat, have a drink and sit and relax. The shops all seemed a little too tchotchke to me.

This place used to be beautiful to walk at, and there are still bunch of stores and entertainments, but not for a young kids. The smell of marijuana is overwhelming and I dont want my kid to breathe this nonsense.
It is definitely a place for older crowds where one can visit a horror place , Gay Dolphin store, Ferris wheel 🎡 or other rides. I wouldn’t bring young kids there

Here from Maine and visited the boardwalk on Wednesday May 19th 2021 and felt very unsafe and could not wait to leave.
The boardwalk smells of urine with sketchy people that appeared high and unpredictable wandered around. I saw one police officer standing in front of Ripley's but that was the only one.
We did eat at a really nice restaurant and visited some cool stores and of course the beach is beautiful. This area is like party time for younger people and appears to have a high homelessness issue.
Being on Ocean Boulevard is much quieter and more of a family and retirement population.

Very clean and with plenty of signage about social distancing and provided sanitizer. Always enjoyable

It is a very eclectic crowd, definitely youth oriented however I was not the only dad there with his family. A very carnival fun vibe. Even in the midst of the covid and protests everyone there was there to enjoy themselves and be chill.

We visited the boardwalk on 4/7 right after Spring Break week. It was a beautiful day and not very many people on the boardwalk or the beach.
We paid one dollar to go out in the main pier and walked the entire length of the boardwalk which was about 1.5 miles one way. We saw dolphins swimming close along the beach and enjoyed the sounds of the crashing waves. There were lots of little stores and restaurants along the boardwalk if shopping is your thing. There is a large Ferris wheel that costs $19.99 pp to ride and some other rides you can pay for.
I am sure during the summer the place is packed but the day we were there it was perfect!

The Boardwalk is full of shops, food and activities. This is a great place for young families with kids.

good place to walk in thee evenings. you can visit shops, bars or restaurants. sit on benches and people watch or just watch the ocean.

The pier is very well run and rents quality rods, reels and bait to fish from the end of the pier. We only loitered there for five minutes, but a young boy caught a fish as we watched. He was so excited! What a view from there as well. My wife bought a pair of sunglasses in the souvenir shop. The line for the SkyWheel never seemed to get to long either. Fabulous.

Nice boardwalk with many shops and restaurants overlooking the beach. Very family friendly and somewhat clean. There was karaoke going on tonight which was nice.

The boardwalk didn't really live up to my family's expectations. We went in the evening, and quite a number of homeless were there and people who were overindulging at the bars. The boardwalk is very narrow the whole way down--barely room for two couples to pass each other without bumping. The area is not well lit. Even my 20 year old son said he felt uncomfortable. The wooden portion of the boardwalk needs some work. I caught my shoe on a raised board and almost tripped. Wouldn't purposely make this part of our trip next time.

Beautiful sunrises over the ocean. Lots of restaurants to choose from. Fun Ferris Wheel on the beach. Beautiful beachfront State Parks. Fabulous Brookgreen Gardens a gem to behold....you need at least two days to see it all!!!

This is east coast mecca for the snow birds. Heard more Yankee accents than anything else...even the people that work here. Nobody seems to be from here. Having said that, there is lots to do and plenty of restaurants and attractions. Parking is difficult and or expensive.

Very nice for biking, walking, and pushing a stroller! Surroundings are well landscaped and shaded and have easy access to a variety of shopping and eating locations. I really liked the plaques along the way that told of historical events relevant to the location.
Fun place to visit for sure!
Great place for family and kids. A lot of things to do and eat. We ate at Yamato Japanese Steakhouse. They gave you a lot of food and it was delicious. Great place for a walk after meal as well. They had a lot of shops.
