The March storms cause severe damage to the Cape beaches. Sadly, Liam's building is no longer standing as it had to be knocked down. My wife and I were there this past weekend and arrived at 5pm to avoid the parking fee which ends at 4.30 and to get to choose dinner before 5.30 from the 3 food trucks and 1 ice cream truck that are now licensed to operate there. We had a lobster roll and seared scallops form Ardeos
The dunes have been wiped out and the beach is flater. The shark flags were up. Water is still cold but the waves are just special. We always bring a bottle of wine as watch the powerful waves. Saw a few seals go by.
On our way back to Brewster, we had to stop at Sundae School for an ice cream sundae!
Bathrooms and showers still work at the beach. The lot was 99% full that Satruday.

Perfect for little kids and surfers, people to park or off road. Fits every need. We love Nauset Beach

Stopped by on our way to a conference to show Kathy a good place to hang, screech, paint, read, and just plain relax tomorrow. It was a glorious day, even saw a seal swimming about 20 feet from shore. Not crowded, clean facilities, just be ready to walk down the stairs from the parking lot.

We didn't even go anywhere else because this place was so amazing. It's also free after 4:30pm and there are fewer people, even right off the parking lot. There were tons of seals, terns, gulls, shearwaters a few feet away in the water, hunting, there were bait balls of fish the birds would follow and dive for. Such cool wildlife watching for me, and relaxing sand and waves for reading for my partner. It was apparently super great fishing too because there were always people finishing and they caught tons of fish (and were saving them to eat, I guess - but you'll have to fight the gulls for 'em!

Can’t say enough wonderful things about spending a week in Nauset heights, Orleans MA. Nauset beach is a dream. Everyday we would stroll on the sand. Seals would follow us on our journey while my husband surf casted and I collected shells and beach glass. This is one of the best beaches the Cape has to offer so I highly recommend renting there. 💕💕💕

Disappointed with the new configuration of parking entrance. I like the old entrance better in which you can see the ocean as you approach. Parking is very tight in the older parking lot. The entire ambiance of this beautiful stretch of beach has changed.

It's a very nice beach that's perfect for walking. Also fun to come during peak summer months but beware, the water is freezing! If you like that then by all means, enjoy.

We visited Nauset Light and Nauset Beach during off season so we did not expect beach weather but were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful views and the surf. We would like to return in warmer weather to enjoy the beach.

When the temperature rises above 90 and it's too hot for Skatet Beach, I find Nauset a nice change of pace. The water here is much cooler than any of the beaches in Yarmouth or Barnstable County - this is ocean water. You'll always get to see a seal and the lifeguard staff is top notch. There are only a few bathroom stalls and only one sink for hand washing so, you will have to wait. The snack bar has really good (but expensive) food.

Cold water but you can still go in it. Look out for the sharks. Great waves! I grew up going to this beach. I love visiting here year after year.

Great beach. Clean, large,
Was high tide when we arrived with known recent shark sightings. Still went as my children wanted to see the beach here. Only went in water to knees. There were sharks this day so we left.

Dress warmly, but the quiet and beauty of this beach in the frigid cold can't be beat. And you just might see a snowy owl (but don't harass it!)

Voted one of USA's best beaches and its easy to know why! Great beach. Liams beach restaurant has the best milkshakes. On a good day, the waves are great too!

My two boys and I met with my sister and her daughters for a nice view of the Atlantic. Great surf, breezy, very cool sand--felt great on the toes and the temp had us wearing windbreakers. The water off the Cape is way too cold for me to swim even in July and August, but there were a few out there in the water.

We’ve been coming here for years and, despite the storm damage and loss of Liam’s Snack Shack, it is an idilic beach on The Cape. The parking fee of $20 is waved at 4:30 each day during peak season. There are lifeguards during the day, showers and bathrooms and plenty of parking if you arrive before 11.

Come here for sunset, you will not be disappointed! It's absolutely gorgeous. Easy parking nearby. Highly recommend!

Misread a sign by the entrance and though we didn't have to pay to park until 9am. The attendant told me it was 730 and got a real bad attitude when I asked. We said we would just swing around and leave. As we pulled away he snapped back "Dude, don't tell me how to do my job." I said nothing offensive to him, just misinterpreted a sign. Definitely not worth a $20 parking pass and to be insulted at the gate.

We were knocked around by the waves and my wife got tossed but we had a lot of fun. The water was cold but beautiful. Bathrooms were readily available as was a dumpster to unload trash.

We stopped by for a late afternoon visit. How wonderful is the area and the beach. It's good to try as many of the beaches you - this one won't disappoint.

We like to come to this beach after Labor Day! Then it uncrowned and no cost to park. It it a beautiful beach and seals are very entertaining!

The beach is the most beautiful one we had pleasure to visit. Come early in the morning to have it all almost to yourself.

I consider Nauset Beach the flagship of all the beaches in the CC National Seashore. Plenty of parking, bath houses, cute lifeguards, accessible wooden walkways, and Liam's snackbar make it the quintessential Cape Cod experience for families and teens. Of course there are other beautiful beaches in the Cape, each unique in their own right. But Nauset is the granddaddy. Don't miss out!

This appears to be a very popular beach! It took us about 20 minutes just to wait in line for a parking spot -parking is $20, parking attendant was not too friendly. It was quite a trek to the beach from the parking lot. I believe the beach is 10 miles long and it just might take you this far to find a place to stay. We squeezed our way in. Water was cold, waves were big! A couple of my family members saw a seal in the ocean and there was also a shark siting. They have a bathroom and a food/ice cream shack. We actually counted 85 people in line -plan on about an hour to get some food. This may be a nice spot during the evening, when there are less people?

What can I say? I've been coming to this beach for over 50 years. Great sand, great surf. Good snacks. Good times. The. Best.

For more than 25 years, we have vaccationed here. The storms from last winter have taken the majority of the beach and the dunes. The days we were here had shark flag and 'no swimming' flags flying. Hopefully the NPS will re-fill the beach and dunes.

Nauset Beach is one of the loveliest beaches on the Cape. A nice flat sandy beach which is ideal for walking and sea shell searching. Simply a gorgeous spot.

This is a remarkably beautiful beach. Clean, friendly, not too crowded, sights and sounds of the ocean. You can't go wrong with this beach choice.

One of the Cape's most beautiful beaches. Wide, plenty of room to spread out, gaze at infinity or just relax. Sea life abounds, including sharks. Huge parking lot.

The beach is not handicap accessible. The surf is rough on most days. Experienced swimmers will find this beach a challenge. Plenty of parking. Good restroom facilities.
Good picture taking spot. A long set of stairs to go down to the beach area and the same set of stairs going back up.

Loved this beach. Free access after Labor Day during the week. Bathrooms in parking lot. Access path to beach. Very clean. Seals swimming by very close to shore. Great beach for long walks. Not crowded at all.

Tons of room to spread out on Nauset Beach. Looks good for surfing other that the shark warning. Parking lot available for $20.00. I posted the sign. Lot is high up on the cliff so you need to walk down the path to the beach.

Any season of the year Nauset Beach provides a place to walk for miles and have a breath taking view of the ocean. During storms or on a quiet, sunny day, no matter the time of year or day you will be in awe of Nature's glory. The best time to walk is off season.....when the summer crowds are gone, or in the Spring before they arrive.

Parking here is much bigger than all near by beaches. It even has a beach house, restaurant on location during high season.
But everything was closed in January...... we enjoyed a short walk and its beautiful white sand.

It's free after 4:30 so just get there then! There are fewer people at that point also, you can walk about 200 feet and have no one around during the week. Parking lot to ocean only a couple hundred feet. Tons of seals around. A+

Cold water, great waves! Beach is great for walking, surfing, sea glass hunting, shells ect. Usually see a few seals swimming close to sure which is fun to watch them watch you! Food available at Liam's burgers and such.

Beautiful beach. Plenty of parking......in October. Very interesting history near where U-boat shells fell in WWI during an attack on merchant barges & crew.

Stairs lead from a sandy cliff to the beach. The same as other beaches on the Cape, there tends to be stones and shells in the sand. There were a ton of seals in the water on the day we were here. We were here in late September so there was not a fee to access the beach.

Nice beach but a little rocky at low tide. Bottom drops off a bit after you walk through the rocks. Restrooms and portajohns plus food truck area. Parking is a bit overpriced at $30 for the day. Would expect valet for that! Need to watch for rip tides too.

This beach was beautiful! I could see coming here to watch a breathtaking sunset.. But it's not really a great beach for swimming. The waves were too big for my comfort, i would not recommend this beach to couples with young children.
Also, there were quite a few seals nearby.... Wherever there is a seal, a great white isn't too far away.. ;)
Beautiful beautiful beach though!

Great beach on the national seashore. Can be crowded, especially on weekends, but that's to be expected. Parking fee is $20 per car and they have week and season passes as well.

If have never seen an untamed beach well here is your chance!
You can not swim in the water because there are shark that are eating seals! Yes that is right!
The seals are so cute with their little heads bobbing up and down.

Nice beach. Water was fridged, 55F, but the kids really enjoyed it. As the tide went out there were some large rocks that showed where we were. I was a little nervous about those.
Nice little snack shack there. Lifeguard stayed till 5pm. Didn't notice any showers to spray off at as we left, but doesn't mean there wasn't any.

Stop looking, this is the beach you are looking for! First found Nauset Beach in 2016 and have returned 3 times sense (we live in upstate NY) well worth the trip! Beautiful, clean, white sand beach with fantastic waves all day! Popular beach and crowded near life guards at times but people are always happy and friendly. There is plenty of room to spread out though. I don't like to be packed in like sardines when I'm at the beach and I've never had a problem finding a great spot. Bathrooms are very well maintained through out the day, they also have a little shop for t shirts etc. Clam shack is a little pricy but is super convenient if you don't bring in your own food. We often see seals swim by and even saw a whale jumping out near the horizon this summer!!!

So hot we didn’t go until 4:30 when parking is free. Not too crowded. Very clean and enjoyable. Well patrolled by lifeguards. Nice and flat at low tide.

Nice beach. Despite the water being extremely cold we had a great time here. It was cool to see some seals and find some sharks teeth

Beautiful beach; $20/day parking charge unless you have a residents' sticker. Crowded near entrance, but head left or right and you'll have plenary of elbow room. Shark sightings kept us out of the (chilly) surf but watching seals cavort close to shore was such fun.

One of my favorite places in the world. Part of the National Seashore, miles of natural landscape in both directions (north and south). Not for the faint of heart, as the water is cold, the waves are great, and the greenheads are quick. Those who love both the power of the ocean and the serenity of the beach will love Nauset.

A very beautiful beach. No problem parking. Awesome location. We will be back. We absolutely recommend it as opposed to pricey town beach stickers. We are all set with out forever national park pass.

This is a great beach. Plenty of space to spread out, nice sand and good waves for boogie boarding. There do seem to be a lot of sharks at this beach but not a problem for us. Plenty of parking. Snack shack and bathrooms are available.

I believe it's dog friendly as long as the dog is on a leash. It's not too crowded here, fairly windy. Plenty of sandy beach and shells.

Great beach for spending the afternoon enjoying the ocean views. The beach is very big, you can walk down further to find a quite spot. When I was there I saw many seals very close to the water. The water is chilly, I didn't swim, but nice to walk barefoot through.

Before the sharks, all you needed to deal with was cold water and rocks at the shore break. Now you take your life in your hands when you get in the water. Now it costs 20 dollars to park at a beach with portolets, food trucks and water that you cannot swim in. Yuck

We have 3 boys and they are all about the waves so although we have a cottage in West Dennis we still drive to Nauset Beach for the waves. It's a great beach!

My boyfriend and I wanted to get out and chill so a friend referred us to the beach. There are cute seals everywhere yet with seals, there are a good amount of sharks. I have an alert system on my phone for sharks off Cape Cod and my phone is constantly going off saying this beach has been closed due to a shark spotting. Please do not risk anything just avoid the beach all together

I like to visit during the spring & fall to take photos of the ocean. Have never been there during the summer. Today when visiting we saw a couple of whales out in the distance, probably feeding. The beach was very clean with very few people today. The sound of the ocean is so calming!

Sunny day beach walk with the kids. Parking lot was fairly empty and free in the off months. Hunted for shark teeth (found one) and shells. Plenty of access to the beach and access points are flat (no stairs). Beach is wide and sand is soft.

If you're looking for a place to kayak, the don't miss Nauset Marsh: great birds, a variety of paddling conditions from protected salt pond to open water, shallow and deep...simply terrific!

First day everyone was staying 12 feet apart. As each day passed, people were getting too close and the water was packed with people. The water was finally warm enough, but personally I think they should have reduced capacity.

This is a gorgeous beach! Parking is pretty easy. There are food options, bathrooms/changing areas. Incredible views. This is true Cape Cod. It is not to be missed!

Nice beach, pretty crowded but big enough that we were spread out. Waves were a little rough but my husband and daughter liked swimming. Saw quite a few seals and even saw a shark jump up, which was very exciting. Probably wouldn’t bring toddlers, it’s more of an older kid beach. Also had an ice cream truck out front with really good ice cream, and even vegan ice cream for my daughter.

September 5th is a big day ......for DOGS !!!
They are allowed on the beach the day after Labor Day ......on a lead !!! To see your dog run on the beach is a real treat. Nauset is a real treat for anyone at any time ...even in January. Great food at Liam's (into early October), great surf and people watching make Nauset the place to be!!!!
Don't miss this great experience !!!!

I have loved this beach since I was a kid. I especially love it off-season. Great for seal-watching.

Went today to watch the waves from tropical storm, place was pretty crowded. Great place to go to see a coastal storm, have been in summer and is one of best on Cape. Has snack shack and little shop open in season. Ample parking, restrooms and great scenery.

Maybe I'm tired, jaded or both but it has water and sand. It's a beach.
There is nothing special about this place other than being quiet in October.
I live by the sea with a much prettier landscape than this.
I wouldn't make a detour just for this unless ur a city dweller who hasn't travelled!!!

Went by to see the beach and the wonderful sand and surf. Enjoyed a snack of clams and fries at the snack shack. Love this beach and try to get here at the end of every summer.

Lovely beach located in the National seashore cape code, Wide parking in the area (cost 30$ per day only cash), Restroom and bar available, refill water, really good and clean sea, big Waves and windy, soft and beautiful sand.
I suggest to organize and buy a tent or umbrella because there is no shadow. Pay attention for shark if you enter the water.

Great beach very beautiful, plenty of parking usually nice surf. Great beautiful place to see the sunrise in the morning or take a walk.

This beach is amazing! I came to see clean water and big waves and that's exactly what I got. There is a $20 parking fee per vehicle for the day. There is plenty of on-site parking. We visited here twice during our stay in Cape Cod; once in the early morning and once in the later evening. Both times I was able to find parking no problem. The bathrooms are clean and there are changing stations in there as well. There are several food trucks which all have decent food with a variety of items (breakfast sandwiches, chicken tenders, clam chowder, hot dogs, hamburgs, ice cream, etc.). The lifeguards go off duty at 5pm. The tall waves don't allow for much swimming or boogie boarding. There were a few people out there but most people stay at the shore. It's great scenery. You'll also see an occasional seal pop it's head up every now and then. There are signs warning about sharks. This is a very rocky shore. If you go in the water up to your knees, you'll most likely be standing on rocks. Bring water shoes. The beach is really clean. Would definitely go back!

Went there with family today. Teenagers and dogs too. Nice clean beach. A little stony but great for what we wanted. Dog friendly too as long as you keep them on a leash. Water was nice and calm but just a little too fresh for swimming or even paddling today !

We arrived on a beautiful summers day and were directed into the overflow car park as the main car park was full. There was me, my wife, my 11 and 8 year old, $20's for the days parking. As the girl took our money she said 'The sea is closed due to a shark sighting' as we walked to the beach there were warning signs of great white sharks in the area, there are seals nearby which attract them to the area. It must have been 28 degrees and a dip in the sea would have been nice! That didn't happen! Liam's food shack provides beautiful seafood and made the trip worthwhile, it was worth waiting in the long line. As someone who holidays in North Cornwall England I would say their beaches are better, beaches like Polzeath, Constantine Bay, Fistral and Watergate Bay are much wider and you don't have to worry about being eaten by a shark when you go body boarding!

This beach has high surf, cold water and shark sightings, but it is magnificent. You have to pay to park -$20 the day I was there. It is nature’s glory at its best!

I have traveled all over the world, including Hawaii and Australia, but Nauset Beach is my favorite beach! The waves and sand bars make it perfect for body surfing and boogie boarding - especially at low tide. The pristine beach goes on for miles in both directions with no development, only dune grass, beach and water.

Access free after Labor Day, during the week. Beach clean Acess to beach a little difficult, but well worth the trek

Just to clarify. Nauset Beach is a town beach in Orleans with lots of parking and easy access to the beach. Nauset Light Beach is further north, in Eastham. Nauset Light Beach has a small parking lot, the light house, and currently steep stairs.

what can I say, it's Nauset Beach! the best beach around. while it's taken a beating lately from the weather, it's still our favorite go-to beach. We love walking the beach in the winter with our dog, too.

We visited Nauset Beach with our family this week. The beach is gorgeous with great surf and clean grounds. They have immaculate bathrooms and a great snack bar (Liam's)with reasonable prices for snacks, lunch food and icecream.

I have traveled extensively and seen beaches in many countries. But Nauset Beach will always be my favorite beach. I compare all other beaches to this one. The perfect combination of surf, sand, sea grass, salt air and privacy (if you walk a bit up or down the beach to get away from the crowds).

Fantastic beach complete with amazing scenery, light house, and trails. My family and I had an amazing time on the trails and board walk. The sands were so clean and the water teaming with life in the salt water marshes. Bring your energy and some bug spray. The good times will certainly follow.

Not commercialized, soft white sand (gets hot in the summer), COLD water (which the locals refer to as "refreshing"), a big parking area (if pricey - $20 per day in 2017) and lots of area to stretch out. There's a protected area of the beach with a handful of town-provided lifeguards who patrol a cordoned off area of water. There are seals (and the rare but headline generating Great White Shark which feed on the seals) that meander up and down the beach just off shore. There are only two concessions at the beach, Liams Crab Shack (which used to be Filbricks) and a new gift store called Fins. Liam's has great fried clams and onion rings. Nauset is a great out of the way family beach - not a lot going on except for the sun and the water, but that's often enough.

Walked to the beach. Nice and clean sand. Able to walk for a long way. If you go by car costs twenty dollars to park. A bit expensive I think.

Only a few families there in october. Some had dogs which was nice. Sea lions out playing in water. Big sand cliffs. Not many shells but lots of neat rocks.

This beach is usually too cold too swim in comfortably. In August I eventually got used to it and found a nice sandbar where people were surfing and body boarding. It’s great for walking and watching seals. But great white sharks patrol these waters regularly and even in the shallows (watch them on YouTube). It’s not that uncommon to see a seal bitten in half here by Jaws. Water shoes are a good idea here too because of the rocks and sea shells. Also watch for riptides. You will he greeted by huge color photograph signs warning you of great whites and there are also shark flags here as well. Wonderful beach but be careful in the water. As Quint would say, “Here’s to swimmin’ with bow-legged women!”

We visited in the early evening in July. Parking was free when we arrived at 5:30pm. The walk down the dunes to the beach was not too far or steep going down or back up. It was not overcrowded at this time, but people were still enjoying the beach. Despite the horizon being misty and the sky overcast, we found this beach to be majestic and naturally stunning. The sand was clean and soft with a thin layer of rocks and shells near the tide line. The water was very clean, but a chilling 59 degrees when we visited, we didn’t swim but soaked our feet. Perfect beach for walking and spotting seals!

I'm afraid the local political climate forced Liam's out, not sure why, but it was obvious following the stories in the local news. We've been coming to Nauset for years, and this year it became "your average beach" with the removal of Liam's building and the addition of overpriced food trucks. Ordered a salad at one of the trucks, and barely got any lettuce. At several times throughout the day, I photographed the trucks, and there was never ay line. Liam's used to have an hour long wait all day long. At one point I called in an order of fried scallops to the Lobster Pound and brought them back to the beach to reminisce o the way it used to be. The good news is that we'll now search out other beaches on the Cape, and will most definitely find one that we can call home on the Cape.

Great location and one of if not the best ocean beach on the Cape. Liam's snack stand is legendary. Can accommodate a lot of cars for parking.

Being run by the National Park Service, this is a large beach with a large parking area. It can get crowded owing to its location which is closer to the large population centers on the Cape. Nevertheless, it will not disappoint. Parking requires a fee.

Be careful with young children because of the surf and the undertow. There are lifeguards in the summer. Excellent snack bar

We went to "Nauset Beach Grill" in Orleans (Cape Cod, MA) for the 3rd-4th time in 2 years. Last 2 visits were late June 2018.
Nauset Beach Grill is a real Gem around Orleans. Food is very tasty, fresh with a very genuine Italian twist at "relatively reasonable prices" relative to other places in the area. There is a fair selection of wines between $35 and $45. And one Big "Plus", you won't wait hours for your meal. There is staff everywhere, in the kitchen (4+) and in the dining room as well (sometimes so many that is becomes almost stunning) / Being from Montreal, I would consider ourselves as demanding and Nauset Grill delivers (to the point of returning 2X in 1 week, 2 years in a row). The service is the aspect that is perfectible. It is effective and all Staffs are polite and knowledgeable. It is not a huge issue but we feel there is an opportunity for a more relaxed, less formal approach / We frankly felt a bit of stress among them. The hostess is certainly a good example of that.... And last, we would recommend a lighter color for the walls. What about a true beach house concept. This dark orange is so outdated! Conclusion: Nauset Beach Grill is a Big YES !

The afternoon we visited, we were warned about bugs by others as we walked to the beach. They weren't wrong! There were little gnats of some sort all over the place! We saw paddleboarders and seals. The beach is more rocky than some others in the area, but seems to be popular!

The best beach in cape cod for surf, but great overall! Well worth a day! Also good snack bar with the best onion rings ever!

This is a big beach with soft sand, and a nice dune behind it. There are lifeguards here during the day (at least on weekends), and there are restrooms, changing rooms, and food trucks. The parking is a bit expensive ($30), and the nearby lot fills early so we ended up in the secondary lot that requires a bit of a hike down to the beach. Overall, it is a nice beach for families.

A marvelous beach for swimming, surfing, sunbathing , picnicking , beach partying. Nicely maintained , white sand cool warm water. Having life guards all around and Cousy guard patrolling . Though Shark hazard is always there but immediate action is taken. People much like this beach.

The water was so cold and refreshing. The seals at sunrise and sunset were a cool site to see. Just beware of the sharks.

Worth the trip - one of the prettiest beaches on cape cod -- don't miss this beach--get up early to see the sunrise

Entire family had a great time here. Huge beach, great surf, dunes and views. Plenty of space to spread out. Food trucks offering a variety of food options and bathrooms/change areas/outdoor showers.

Beautiful beach and nature. We saw seals swimming close to shore and lovely trails. Restrooms and changing rooms were clean.

We find Nauset beach in Orleans a great ocean beach to spend a day every year on vacation. Large parking lot, clean bathroom facilities, Liam's snack bar & best is approx only 8 stairs to get onto the beach. Unlike other ocean beaches on the cape with a million steep stairs. The beach is clean & life guards are always watching to assist anyone. Just love this beach.
Sue & Lou

This was the second beach we visited in Cape Cod. It was gorgeous, when we were there pink flowers were blooming everywhere.
Adding to the atmosphere are the numerous signs warning about sharks. What a novelty for us midwesterners! In all seriousness, do watch out for the sharks.
A downside was that we could barely walk on this beach. The sand is so soft. However, there are about 4 lighthouses (including the Cape Cod Potato Chip bag lighthouse) with walking trails from the beach.
Would recommend, but be aware that you should probably wear snowshoes.

We arrived at this beach with a friend who lives in Orleans and has a beach sticker, so there was no fee. The weekend after Labour Day, it was not crowded, finding a parking spot at mid day was not a problem. There would food trucks for those who wished to purchase food. Changing rooms and rest rooms in the Administration building (which is close to be covered in sand). This was the first weekend dogs were allowed back on the beach, so many of the groups had their animal with them. I am not a big fan of dogs, but they all were leashed and the owners seemed to be cleaning up after them. (Dog waste bags are available as you walk towards the beach from the parking lot). The sand was fine and soft, a joy to walk on. The waves were rolling and it was a lovely sight.

We went to check out the other beaches nearby before settling on Nauset, and it was the perfect choice for us. It was incredibly clean, and had the least amount of people. There were not many kids (but you have to keep in mind it was a Monday). We stayed for approximately three hours for a picnic and some nice napping. The people we met were very kind.

You have to walk many stairs to get down to the beach. Tide was low, so there was a lot of Beach. But the wind was blowing causing the surf to rise. Not really cold for an October. The kids from the local high school or having their gym class there. I think they were running one of the trails. My first stop of several beaches. There is the lighthouse there.

Clean, quiet beach with soft sand. Not overly crowded at all, although it is September. Easily accessible. You do have to walk up a ramp over the dunes to the beach, but no stairs. Parking lot available. Did not have to pay to park. Lovely beach!

Fantastic place! So beautiful! We lucked out and saw tons of harbor seals — 8 to 9, very close to shore. Spent literally hours here!

We have been going to Nauset annually, for over 25 years. We love it. It’s a beautiful, beautiful beach and a sight you should not skip if you are in town.
Pros - gorgeous views, decent body surfing, nighttime concerts, great rock collecting, seal sightings and there are bathroom and food facilities available to the public.
Cons - you need to arrive early or parking is impossible, parking is expensive, restaurant food lines are long (more than an hour wait for food), the beach is very crowded during the summer, Shark sightings hinder ability to swim in the ocean and WiFi never works.
So my advice - this is a must see beach if you are in the area. Pack your own cooler to avoid being hangry and thirsty. Get there early for easy parking and to find your sweet spot on the sand. If a day at the beach isn’t your things, just head over after dinner (no parking fees) and enjoy the sunset and music.

Great beach to sunbathe, ride the waves, people watch. Added bonus of watching shark taggers in action.

This is our favourite beach to go to and were so excited, to see it again, but what a disappointment we had this year when we drove down to the beach before even checking in to the hotel to find they were still charging. We had to up to Skaket Beach and sit there. We always take our holidays after Labour Day so we don't have to pay to go to the beach and this year, they were still charging the 20.00!! We went to all other beaches, and this was the only beach that still charged. With our week there, we were only able to go for 2 days, because of them charging. Most of us were Seniors too, since the kids our back to school. Will have to rethink our holiday for next year if this is how it's going to be.

Orleans' Nauset Beach a VERY different place after severe winter storms damage.!
Beloved LIAMS lost to waves.....gone is some of the world's finest seafood...its owner forced out and replaced by food trucks with expensive ice cream and little seafood... No chair or umbrella rentals as John had. Even the grand Gazebo was damaged and removed to await its fate.
Nauset still a long, grand beach with good waves but narrower and shadowed by Great White Sharks and the seals that they feed upon. Waves make for good beachcombing. Skaket beach on the North side a much safer beach for young kids with lots of tide pools and shallow waters.
-- from CLAM --a looong time visitor.

We've been to this beach other seasons and it was really nice. But this time it was outrageously crowded. Hard to find a small patch of sand to sit in. If I hadn't shelled out $20 for the pleasure of being cheek to jowl with other beach goers, I would have left. The parking lot is much to big thus allowing too many visitors while raking in the money. At the national seashore they have smaller lots and you can't get in if it is full so they are never overcrowded in my experience. Next time that is where we are going.

The beach itself is very clean
Not very crowded but it is covid season
No masks required
There are signs saying to wear them but no one does
Changing rooms are very tiny but clean and private
No showers
Public toilets are also clean

I love Nauset beach. Wide soft sand, lovely surf rolling in. It is very popular and fills up in late morning to midday. I like to come in the early morning, just as the mist is burning off, and stay till around 9 or 10. (When you arrive before 8, you don't have to pay for parking.) Also a good spot for a late afternoon visit, though you may have to pay for parking.

A beautiful beach, the staff is excellent, you can end up parking adjacent to the Administration building right at the beach.

The most beautiful beach of Cape Cod, a must while visiting the Cape! Lots of sharks though, not recommended for swimming.

Lots of room, decent waves, and seals swimming just beyond the break. Sand is similar quality to mid-NJ, say, Seaside or Point Pleasant. Waterline drops off quick as well, so not easy swimming, plus there's a rock bed to walk over. But that's New England for ya. Great breeze and just sit under your umbrella all day and watch the waves. Best beach around.

There are so many options in the Cape for beaches but every year we return to Nauset at least once - it may not be in our top 3 but it's certainly worth a visit!

This is a great example of the many fabulous beaches on the outer Cape. Visited here in Early July of 2017 on a bright sunny day and had a great time. There were a lot of people admittedly, but it was also mid summer, which is peak season for anywhere on the Cape. Hilariously though not many people were in the water, not sure if it was the fog bank on the ocean, the 60F water temperature, or the many shark flags and warnings. Needless to say none of that deterred me as I went in for a bit and felt like I was on the very eastern edge of the state, which I technically was. The whole shark craze is certainly real and not to be taken lightly, but don't let it ruin your trip. I've seen Great Whites off of Chatham and Provincetown before and I still go in the water every summer. Just be aware and be smart about where you go. This beach is too nice not to go in. I also visited here later in the day at night with a full moon, which was stunning. There was no one about and I went to the edge to dip my toes in, but night swimming was not on the to-do list. A very cool and famous place to visit and well worth a trip.

This is a beautiful, sandy beach with good size waves. On this visit the water was cold and it was pretty windy. There were also shark warnings which I believe is common for this areal.

We loved watching the surfers, although after shark attacks I would not be in the water. The beach is beautiful, with great waves and very windy. A must see.

It has been quite a dew years since we stayed and played at Nauset Beach - so glad we got to return to this wonderful place! Surf is huge and sunrises are fabulous!

Rolling surf ( with seals playing off shore if you're lucky) , great view ,
Ample parking , snack shack ( Liam's), Miles of sandy beach, a rock collectors Mecca.

My 2 yearly visit and a lot of changes since the last time. The bad winter storm has not only changed the beach but washed away Liam's food shack. Therefore the whole area has been re-developed, bigger sand dunes built up and grasses planted. New area for 3 concession food trucks and area's for men and woman changing plus extra toilets. So much more organised but, what this means is less Parking and as this is an extremely popular beach if you don't get down there by 10.30 on holidays you aren't going to get a parking slot.
The beach is still great especially for kids in waves and rollers and there are lifeguards on duty. So get there early to be sure of a slot and have a great day.

It is a gorgeous beach to walk, even in the brutal cold winds of March. We hit sunshine and the glistening whitecaps made spectacular photos. Then we noticed the sea creatures. There is a new billboard that says 'Beware Sharks Live Here Too' [more or less] as is true of anywhere there are a lot of seals [think: shark dinner]. What a gorgeous place to walk.

It is heart breaking to see the erosion from over this past winter at Nauset Beach. So much has changed in less than one year.
It is still a very pretty beach, but hard for us to go to since all of the change.

Gorgeous, long beach. One of the best beaches in the Cape. Lots of waves on the day of our visit. $30 parking fee. There’s a picnic area and food trucks. Also bathrooms and changing rooms.

Walk or bike and its free, car is $20.00 if you do not have a town sticker. Arrive after 4pm- ish and it's free as almost all the town and Nat. Seashore beaches. Early morning walks are free, no one mans the booth. Bathrooms, showers in season. Nesting grounds tied off in season and no dogs please.

We love Nauset Beach. There’s always room. Cost is $20. They have bathrooms, food trucks and no stairs to the beach. It’s one of our favorites!

My kids and I have vacationed in Orleans for many years. Nauset is their favorite beach hands down. We love all of the Cape, but this one always has their hearts and souls! Great body surfing, surfing and relaxing. It CAN get SUPER busy, and one year there were a lot of green heads (one year out of 10+) BUT if you walk down away from the crowds (we drive to the FAR end of the lot and walk, walk and walk some more...) you will be alone on beautiful sand on a beach that is breathtaking with some of the most fun waves and surf to play in for hours. Always have a perfect and magical day here and always return.

It is simply beautiful and the popping up through the surf of the many seals...is very fun to see. Also, pretty clear of garbage, it is nice that people try very hard to keep it pristine.

My family has been coming here for years. It is a beautiful beach very nice to walk and the last time we were there we got to see shark tagging being done by the local expert.

Despite the incredible surf, the undertow, the seals and possibility of sharks we spent a lot of time at the beach. Just running around at the waters edge and walking up and down the beach, it was so beautiful. Having grown up at the ocean we are not afraid of the water but do have respect for it. So, we chose not to attempt to swim. Nauset Beach is well worth a visit.

This is a large beautiful beach where it was very easy during COVID to socially distance , the umbrellas were not on top of one another which I really liked . The water is a tad cooler than say the Nantucket Sound is but we went in anyway because it was so hot outside . There are signs there warming you that great white sharks like this area due to the seal population. The water had some waves but nothing to terrible , the only draw back to this beach was the rocks , next time I would go back but wear water shoes to protect my feet . The public bathrooms were very kept very clean .

You can walk for miles. It is beautiful clean and not crowded. I'm glad we could walk there however because the parking fee is $20.

Just the place to bundle up and take an Thanksgiving walk. Nice wide and clean beach. Plenty of parking available in the off season.

You want a beach that is clean and family safe....search no more. Good parking and bathrooms.
Swim with life guards on duty.

Great spot to go for long or short walks. The beach / waves are amazing and you can often watch the surfers...seals. Beautiful scenery.

Went to Nauset today for the first time this season. Couldn't believe how different it looks. The ranger told us 30-40 feet of the beach was lost this past winter due to storms. Liams (the clam shack) was lost in the winter storms so was the gazebo. The beach looks so much smaller and more narrow. The town fixed the entrance to the beach-the stairs are gone and they made a ramp which was so much easier to walk over. With the erosion the parking lot seems much closer to the beach. They made an adorable little sitting area with a tall post that points to a variety of places and gives mileage. The ranger told us that food trucks park near the seating area during the day. It sure looks different, but the beach is still as gorgeous as ever. I also liked how they made a drop off area by the front parking attendant. If you haven't been to Nauset in several years, you might not recognize it.

First - I wouldn't go here with little kids. The waves are big and powerful here - which is why my son likes it. If you're planning on being in the water, I would suggest strong swimmers go - even if they are not planning on going out far.
The facilities are well-maintained and clean. Parking is $20/day, but is good for this beach only (at other Cape beaches, if they are part of the Cape Cod National Seashore, you can buy admission to one and then choose to go to another without paying again so long as you go the same day).
The beach itself is sandy, not rocky, so walking barefoot is comfortable. It seems to be crowded along the shoreline, so walking along the shore for any distance is no easy feat - especially in the COVID climate we are now experiencing.
They have handicapped accessible Mobi Mats, but they don't go all the way to the water, or much near the water at all. They are often up and down hills which may be difficult for people in wheelchairs. (My husband had ALS, so I always pay attention to this even though - sadly enough - we don't need to be aware of this anymore).
The "shark flag" is frequently flying because, I was told, they often have tagged sharks near their buoys where they detect them. It doesn't necessarily mean they have come up to the beach. The staff there advised us if you see a seal in the water, to just get out.

Very clean, quiet with amenities, close to lighthouses, easy to find, 25 to park for day, Saw seals at the beach (but not sharks!)

Beach is clean and easy access. Fortunately we were here in the first half of June and avoided the $25 parking sticker. Most of the day you can watch the numerous seals swimming right in front of you. Being early June water was colder than I wanted. Anyway a good day at the beach, it is really beautiful.

This is not a safe swimming beach. There is nothing much to see or do here. Surf and waves are high and dangerous, great potential for drop offs and undertows everywhere. Usually, high howling winds all the time. Water is so cold even the seagulls stay away. I've been there many times in August. Water was never more than a bone numbing 60 degrees F. Go to Cape Cod bay side beaches for warmer, safer waters.

We were staying in Orleans and walked over to the private beach at Nauset Beach. Every car that was parked on the beach was "socially distanced," very far apart. (The cars belonged to residents). I have never seen a beach with such fine powdered sand and a seaweed free beach. We saw lots of seals. The water was too cold to go in, but the beauty and sounds of the crashing of the waves were worth it!

Was able to watch Dorian pass by at the end of our vacation. Surf was UP! Great sand, great lifeguards, mostly friendly peeps to share space with, but don’t bring your puppies!

Every year we spend a day or two at Nauset Beach. There are many things to like about this beach like the cleanliness and refreshing ocean water and breezes on a hot day. This year was no different. However, we did miss Liam's but understand what happened to the beach. Our compliments to those who reclaimed the beach after the waves eroded much of the original beach and Liam's. We are very pleased with the selection of food trucks that replaced Liam's at the beach offering some great menu items to satisfy many eating styles. This year we did see many seals but unfortunately such sightings also limited the amount of time the life guards for safety reasons kept people out of the water. This comment is not a negative by any means. The lifeguards here are very professional and concerned with our welfare and we thank them for this too.

We are from Dublin, Ireland and are on the Cape for 10 days. We are staying in West Dennis. We went to the beach at West Dennis yesterday and it was just fine. However, we wanted a beach with some good waves to get the adrenaline going and the blood flowing. This is the beach. In comparison to the Atlantic on the West Coast of Ireland, the water here on this side of the pond is positively warm. We couldn't get over how clean the beach and facilities were. We arrived after 4.30pm so there was no $20 dollar entrance fee and we parked beside the entrance for the beach. The waves were great and the seals swimming by added to the appeal. As Alan Shearer would say, "a top top beach!"

Large beach area with plenty of space to spread out! Lots of parking, clean restrooms and food trucks on site. Parking was $20 for the day which seems to be the norm. The day we were there, the swimming areas were closed for an hour or so as a shark was spotted down the shore a bit. The lifeguards were notified quickly and the water cleared. Once it was safe to go back in, we enjoyed the somewhat brisk water and a few more waves than the lower Cape beaches we visited.

great beach with very ample parking, even with big crowds. 3-4 food trucks (selected by town lottery) replace Liam's Restaurant which was an icon of this beach. Nice picnic area to eat your lunch.....clean rest rooms...
area , sand very nice and great waves.
Be aware that planes monitor shark activity and warning signs are posted. At times you will see seal activity feeding on baitfish and mackerel in the northern and southern boundaries of this beach which is amazing!

Really lovely beach, as well as are the beaches within driving distance from this one, that offers lighthouses and are perfect for taking serene pictures. Also, they are not overly crowded beaches. I myself prefer a more relaxed setting, not infiltrated with a bunch of children, (no disrespect to ppl w kids!), and much more low key. Can't wait to revisit!

So much fun. Big beach big waves a great place to spend a hot day on beautiful Cape Cod. Can’t wait for next summer.

We stopped and took a look at the famous Nauset light- which is featured on the cape cod potato hip bag. We then took a stroll down the walk to this amazing beach and took it all in.

This beach has a Lighthouse that offers tours. At the end of May, tours started at 4:30. The volunteers were very friendly and informative. You are able to go up in to the Lighthouse. You can also see seals swimming just off the coast.

Went to visit the National Seashore, since we were coming from Yarmouth, Nauset Beach was the first beach we encountered(there are a few others). When we got there we had the whole place to ourselves! I should mention the only reason for this is because it was a rainy, windy totally non-beach day, ha. But it was still cool to see and be on the beach by ourselves, and since the weather was terrible they didn't charge us the $20 for parking.

An amazing beach although we were there on a hot day and the water was COLD! We really wanted a swim too!

I love to go to the beach, and when you get there snd see seals playing on the beach, well, it is grand! Not a swim beach as I look at it, but definitely a beach to get your feet wet and sit in the sun. Heavy surf, so stay safe and enjoy the beautiful beach!!

We go to Nauset every year because it's got good waves for my son and it's convenient to the excellent Little Inn on Pleasant Bay where we stay. A few years back it was quite rocky, but I'm happy to say that last year and this it's back to being mostly sandy. It's a busy beach during the day, but I've been to ones that are more crowded. In the mornings and evenings it's pretty empty and beautiful.
The lunch place, Liam's, washed away in storms a couple of years back, but now they have a good variety of food trucks in the parking lot, so there's more choice and shorter lines. The area around the food trucks is also not bad, with tables, showers, and some shade, as well as porta-potties. Unfortunately, no water view from there, but not a big deal. Overall, I'd say it's an improvement.
Sharks made it a hassle this year, with the beach closing for an hour whenever one was spotted; I think one beach or another on the Atlantic side was closed for an hour almost every day we were there. It makes you a little nervous, but I figure the risks are low if I keep my eyes open, get out for a few minutes if I see a seal nearby...and make sure there are a few people further out than I am. :-)
More of an annoyance was that they charge $20 for parking starting at 7:30 in the morning, even though the lot is nearly empty at that hour. I was hoping to spend an hour saying "good-bye" to the beach on my last day and wasn't willing to pay $20 for that short a time.

We were only there for an hour, just sitting and listening to the waves and we got to see many seals swimming by. We heard that there’s quite a few white sharks that are also here for the seals, hopefully the beaches won’t have to be closed.

Huge sandy beach, plenty of room even though it does get crowded. Several lifeguards on duty. Drinks, food and ice cream trucks right off the beach behind the dunes. Easy parking but it did cost $20. If your looking for a legit sandy beach this is it!

The beach itself was very pretty, but online and at my resort, I was told this was the best beach for shells and swimming. The water was closed except about 20 feet from the shore, due to sharks. So $20 to park, couldn't swim, but glad the warning was up, because these are great whites, and the shells were not there. Beautiful rocks, but I wanted shells

Although I love the beach in the hot weather, this visit was 'off season'...much less crowded, free parking, and just plain relaxing!

The beach is very nice with restrooms and changing room. The outdoor shower to get rinsed off. No lifeguards this time of year but a great walking beach. The view of Nauset Lighthouse is wonderful. Try the rose hips that grow around there for a tasty treat.

Great beach to walk - you can go on for what seems like forever without running into many people - especially at this time of year. We saw an orca whale the other day. Spotted it by it blow hole water - what an amazing event. We have always seen seals here, but not a whale!!! Surf at high tide is forceful and yet beautiful.

Every day we went to Nauset Beach, there were purple warning flags telling us that sharks had been sighted recently. We still enjoyed the beach and did brave the waves for a good amount of time. It's a beautiful locale and one of the few beaches that kids can enjoy the waves as much of Cape Cod is sheltered by sand bars and the like. Although it is $20 to park your car, the nearby amenities make it far more convenient to visit than most other beaches. This was our favorite spot on vacation, just don't become shark snack!!

This is a great beach but parking is not that convenient. I preferred to go to Skacket Beach as it was quieter and the parking was much more convenient for us. Some days and times you are required to pay for parking so research this before going.

Nice beach. Waves were small. Crowded a bit, and there were folks playing loud radios (not quite like Hampton Beach, but not what I've seen on the outer cape). Everyone was working it together when a shark was spotted. I think that they did a great job raising the red flag, and telling people to stay out of the water.

Another of the many beautiful beaches on Cape Cod. We spent some time just walking on the beach and relaxing. Great time.

We spent a lot of time walking the beach looking for shells. The sand is very soft and the beach is very clean. We saw quite a few seals swim by.

Great beach! Easy to find parking after Labor Day. Too cool to swim but great for walking. The Nauset lighthouse is semi interesting but easy to walk to from the parking lot. Take tp for the porta-potties.

Off season in Oct is great. Pristine beach for endless walks. Great for sunrise, sunset and evening walks.

This beach has limited parking with no shuttles so it is not crowded....need to get there EARLY!! Cars are stopped at gate until someone leaves....
Watch for the sharks!

No mats to walk down on like Coast guard beach. Rocky water bed! Bring and wear water shoes! Steep walk down to beach especially with all your beach gear.

Yes, this beach is absolutely beautiful. Great for boggie boards! Not great for a nice swim. Bring water shoes, as very rocky. Careful for sea lions while in the water even very close to shore. Again beautiful beach, but for a morning walk or view with coffee. Is a good beach as able to bring your dog. Good for that morning walk or before the sun gets too hot. Careful to let them swim, as behind sea lions and seals comes the sharks in this area. Not great beach for little children. Recommend this beach to Coast Guard as you can park here and not take shuttle. Beaches connect with short walk.

Loved seeing the surfers, seals and the ability to walk for miles along thewide beach. Our VRBO was within walking distance to the beach, but visiting off season allows for free parking as well. Very happy we chose to spend our week with Nauset as our home base!

I’m very biased in my opinion about Nauset. I grew up spending my summers at my grandmother’s house in Nauset Heights, East Orleans... so I’m certainly not impartial. Nauset beach is stunningly beautiful and the waves are great. It is sad to see that Mother Nature stole Liam’s from us, but the town has done a great job creating a new area for snacks.

This beach is one of the nicest in Cape Cod / Water is quite cold but you could get a long walk !!!!

Great place to walk and walk without seeing too many people (off-season, at least) and no garbage. Natural erosion has changed the beach over the years, but it is a delightful place to take in the ocean view on Cape Cod. Historic Nauset Lighthouse worth a visit.

Beautiful beach but a long walk to get to the water. The waves were great and the ocean just breathtaking. Beautiful sand

We accidentally wounded up at this beach while looking for the Nauset Lighthouse. The beach was absolutely beautiful. The water was so blue and the sand was great--not too many large rocks like many of the other beaches we go to. It wasn't too crowded and there are restrooms to use at the top of the steps where you can access the beach.

We were there on a Tuesday and they are only letting in 50% in the parking lot and its $20 CASH only to park. The lot is huge, we went way down, less crowded. There i a food truck there with tables that are socially distanced etc. There are new stairs up and down, to social distance and there is a matt that helps going on the sand to the beach. They have lifeguards. Lots of seals, no sharks at the time we went. The sand is soft and powdery. Its just a beautiful beach, long and plenty of shells and rocks when you walk but not the water. The ocean is clean, sandy bottom no big rocks etc. Just a fantastic family beach. Warning, go early or you won't get in especially on a weekend!!
They have porto potty' and changing bays for men and woman.

Wonderful beach, a lot of space to spread out, we saw more than five seals swimming around. Because of the cold water even in July and the occasional shark sightings, this beach is not necessarily the first choice for swimming, but rather for watching the waves, sea life and for enjoying a beautiful beach. Sometimes the parking lot reaches capacity early in the day, if it’s nice weather early arrival is a good idea. We forgot bug spray which was a mistake. The one food truck had decent food (some Mexican choices and sandwiches), bathrooms and changing rooms are available. Parking during the day $30.

The beach, the sea itself is great. But the locals give you a sense that you are there to visit on sufferance. There is a long list of "No"s and too few attentive life guards. But the food is expensive but Great.

For $20 it was a great beach day! Family friendly, lots of space to spread out, parking wasn’t an issue (we did get there at 9:30am).

Nauset Beach is an absolutely beautiful place to spend a day. We’ve gone several times and have always seen many seals pretty close to shore. They’re fun to watch and don’t seem too bothered by humans.
The beach is also a great place to beachcomb for interesting and colorful rocks if you’re into that. You won’t find shells here, but you will find a lot of nice stones, pebbles and rocks. The water is a little chilly for swimming and there are a fair amount of sharks around, but it’s great for wading. We certainly see people swimming, too.
Nauset Beach is very large with plenty of room for long walks, or just relaxing away from the crowds. We always make it a point to spend some time on Nauset Beach when we’re on the Cape, and we recommend you do too!

We arrived at 4.30pm on a very warm day which was perfect. Car parking charges end at 4.30pm and there are plenty of spaces. Yes there are sharks and only the day before a seal was attacked 10 feet from shore edge. See YouTube. If you see seals get out of the water is my and the locals advice. Lifeguards left around 5pm. Bathrooms and cafe available next to the car park on way to beach. Some pebbles at waters edge but nice clean beach

This is a great beach - spacious, clean, restrooms and lifeguards. Great surfing and body boarding with the big waves. Lots of seals which can mean sharks but we aren't too concerned - lifeguards put up flags for shark warnings and we don't go too far out. The only reason I ranked it as 4 instead of 5 is the rocks. My kids and I all had bloody, scraped feet from the amount of rocks at the shore line. Every time a wave comes in and then goes out, your feet sink and get battered with rocks. My kids didn't want to go back even though they loved the waves.

Nice sandy beach on the ocean side of the Cape. Town has paid parking right at the beach, or walk or ride you bike in to save $20. No charge for parking after 5:00. Cold water but good waves.

I've been going to Nauset beach all my life. There is nothing like a day at the beach in the summer, but it is wonderful in the fall too. Take a book and enjoy the serenity . The sound of the waves is so calming. Treat yourself.

Loved it here, although there was a bunch of seaweed in the water. Great for all ages. Bath House nearby, ample parking (I think $30 for the day, so get there early.)

Went to get some fresh air and enjoy the beach. Being a overcast October day, it wasn't crowded and really enjoyed the view and walk.

The cape beaches are amazing. I stayed walking distance to Nauset. It's beautiful at all times of the day. Pricy to park ($20) but free in the evenings and it has great amenities-- clean bathrooms and changing area, as well as a nice beach side shack for take out lunch, snacks, smoothies and ice cream. Not uncommon to see seals riding the waves when it's less crowded.

What can I say, just a great all around beach. Nice clean beach, plenty of options for food at the concessions, clean bathrooms, live music some times. But body surfing the great waves and seeing the seals is what we enjoyed most here. You can't go wrong at this beach. Wether you have young or older kids, everyone will enjoy.

Nice clean, well maintained beach, great photo opportunities at sunrise, with free beach access, no dogs

Nauset Beach is our absolute favorite beach. However, this year we tried to go walk on the beach and were met with a large disappointment. It was after Labor Day and for the first time in all of the years we have been coming to Cape Cod, the Town of Orleans was charging $20 to park the car. It was mid-week....not even a week-end. Although we rate Nauset Beach as excellent, the fee being charged after Labor Day was unexpected and disappointing.......especially when one tries to plan a vacation after the big tourist season is over. Perhaps the Town of Orleans could re-think this for next year.

I think of this beautiful beach all year long and it is always a thrill to anticipate it's coming into view as one approaches from Beach Road in East Orleans. It has a great place to eat (Liams's), rest rooms and a good sized parking lot. Walking down the stairs to the beach and viewing the beauty of this place and giving oneself over to the power of nature is a joy!

Fun town beach. Cold, cold water, but if you enjoy the beach as much as I do, you live for this. Small waves the first of my 2 visits. Rocky entering and exiting, so wear your rubber duckies if you need to!
Good facilities, but $20 to park.

Spent another beautiful day at this beach. We did some surf casting away from the life guard protected area. Lots of people swimming even with all the shark talk. This beach has a big parking lot so you don’t have to be here to early. 11 am is good. I’ve never had a problem with that time.

Best Beach Ever here on Cape Cod!!! The waves, the surf and the sand can't be beat. I recommend it to everyone!

One of the nicest beaches on the Cape. Beautiful, clean beach.
For families with children: waves are a bit big, a little rough(Cape Cod Bay side beaches are calmer) so keep this in mind but it is a beautiful beach. Get there early in the summer months.

The beach has suffered from some north eastern storms. Still a nice beach with a big parking available. I've been here in April and in July. It can get busy on a nice sunny day, so I prefer the beach in April :-)

First time visiting Nauset Beach and it is breathtaking. What a beautiful beach. Long, clean, pristine. We saw a seal that followed along with us on a walk. Sand was incredibly soft with very few rocks/ shells. First time we had seen a beware of sharks sign... Not sure if I would swim, but lovely to beach to visit.

Beach was a bit rocky this year but still an old time favorite. Made some improvements with new walkways and drop off parking spots.

This was the first beach that we visited on the evening we arrived in Cape Cod because there was a free concert at the gazebo that night. The water was very cold, but it was later in the evening. We saw lots of seals and lots of people fishing. The further north we walked, the more seals we saw. We also enjoyed a lovely sunset. It's free to park here after 4:30 pm.

My absolute favorite part was the seals! They just poke their head up and look around. Clean beach, food trucks, changing stations & restrooms

Nice beach but too rough for young or inexperienced swimmers. There are good trucks and restrooms available. Worth spending a day!

Visited on a drizzly May day. The beach was mostly empty for us. The sand was very soft, and the beach stretched for quite a distance. The access to the beach from the parking lot requires using a large wooden stair case. The light house opposite the parking lot (the one from Cap Code Potato chips) is very picturesque.

Nauset is gorgeous all day long but we especially love sunset walks here. If you take the time to gaze out at the water while you walk, you'll see harbor and gray seals migrating to Monomoy Is.
The parking lot can be quite crowded during the day. In the early evening, as the sun starts its descent into the horizon and the sky is ablaze in oranges, pinks and purples, the parking lot begins to empty. This is my favorite time to take in this beach and the National Seashore. The beach is quieter, the sounds of the sea birds and the surf combine to create a beautiful soundscape for your sunset walk.
All you need to do is show up and enjoy the beauty of this natural setting and all it has to offer.

My sense is that Cape Cod beaches must be among the best ever. The expanses of sand and the vistas are incredible. On Cape Cod, every time you move somewhere else, there is another beach.
This is a great one.

We love this beach, no matter what the season is. Tough to beat the wonder and power of the Atlantic Ocean. Plus - the snack bar here - Liam's - is more thyan just a snack bar with delicious food, especially their onion rings. Liam's is seasonal, by the way; yet Nauset Beach is wonderful yearround.

Great beach on the cape. The kids boarded all day. Waves were great. Can be crowded but if you walk beyond the life guard towers it can thin out. Watch for seals and of course sharks. $20 parking. GREAT Beach!

A family favorite. We have been coming to Nauset for years. Any season it's a treat! Great waves and beautiful sand.

This has to be one of the nicest beaches on the Cape. Sandy beach as far as you can see in both directions. We were there at end of season so very few people but it is such a large beach it could easily handle big crowds.

I heard about Nauset Beach Inn on Howie Carr's radio show and bought three gift certificates. We're so glad we did. We really loved the place with its more than 180 degree ocean view from our room. My wife saw seals swimming in the ocean from our room. The room was simple but very clean and efficient. Bring your own hair drier if that is important to you as none are provided.
They have three fire circles that go all day until 10pm. The beach is a very short walk away. We came home yesterday and already are greatly missing the ability to just sit and look out the large picture windows and see the ocean, and to keep the windows open so we can hear the pounding of the surf. We will definitely return.

Finding a beach on the Lower Cape that can be visited without having a Town Beach pass can be a challenge. You won't need one at Nauset Beach, but you will need to pay! It's worth the daily price of $20 (I think this is correct), just fit as many family members as possible in your car! There are changing rooms, bathrooms, and the very popular Liam's for all your lunch and snack needs.

This is the best beach in New England. Surf, sharks, seals and everyone is friendly. Very enjoyable. Can’t say enough good things about it.

Get there early. Lifeguards are on shark alert. Shallow slope to the sea and and manageable waves that the kids love. Seals are around. Very long beach with good sand and decent distance to the sea. Food and toilets available in the car park which is $20 cash not card. Close to Orleans and well signposted. Really good family beach.

Beautiful beach, but $30 to park. Would recommend getting there early in the day. Saw food/ice cream trucks there as we were leaving a little after lunch time.

Amazing views, sea life abundant, endless beach, birds paradise, best place to see Snowy owl in the winter.

Would not go on this water without a steel shark cage. Watched a seal get eaten right next to a surfer. Time for the government to take action before someone is bitten

Nauset Beach was my favorite beach on Cape Cod. Long stretch of beach bordered by the high sand dunes created a dramatic effect. Very scenic country drive through forests to the beach and lighthouse. We had to stop and let a flock of wild turkeys cross the road.

Wonderful slice of natural beauty. Fun to play in the surf by day and awesome stargazing at night.
Seals are adorable but beware! Seals mean sharks are also nearby.

This is definitely our favorite beach on the Cape. We find ourselves returning day after day on our vacations. The water is COLD, but clean and clear, and the beaches are perfect. It is a fun spot for seal-watching here too. They come so close to shore!

This is my favorite beach in Cape Cod! It's absolutely beautiful. With recent shark scared in Cape Cod, the lifeguards do an excellent job keeping everyone safe, especially when the sea lions are close, as they are what the sharks like to eat. Whenever a child or adult went out to close to where the sea lions were, the lifeguards were there in a split second, keeping everyone safe.

Easy access, nice facilities, lifeguards, food trucks. We haven’t visited the other beaches on Cape Cod to compare, but definitely liked this one. Fairly large crowd midday on a Friday.
There were a group of seals lazily swimming back and forth just beyond the swimmers, perhaps not ideal from the standpoint of attracting sharks, but fun to watch. We did not see any fins in the water.

Love Cape Cod beaches. Beautiful stretches of white sand. Tbe sea was rough today, but saw a seal and several whales from a bluff several miles north.

I'm giving this one star this season July 2022/ I have been coming to this beach for over 40 years. Raised my family over the many summers here. This year I drove in on a Sunday got in a bit late and thought I would go sit by the water at the end of the day and just destress from the drive . I arrived about 6 pm and was surprised to see the gatekeeper still standing at the booth with his hand out. He asked for $30. as he was closing the booth. We were in disbelief as the man appeared to be so arrogant and with a better than thou personality wearing a hot pink country club polo shirt. He was so unwelcoming as if the beach had turned into a members only private club. The notices stated that the park was free after 4:30 pm and here this guy was pocketing whatever he could get. I wonder how much he made in those 2 hours. It's cash only. Soooo, I just made a U turn and went to Rock Harbor to catch the sunset.

We love this beach. It is so beautiful and you can get yummy Liam's food & ice cream. They have your usual (and good) fried food but also a grilled option or 2 , good salads, soups & seltzer vs just soda! Summer does not go by without a trip or 2 there!

We kayaked out of the boat ramp on Hemenway Rd, near Fort Hill. First timers, we went south first, at high tide, and kayaked down into the town cove and around Hopkins Island. This first half was a little of a snooze fest. THEN, things got WAY better when we kayaked out thru the marsh toward the outer bar of Nauset Beach. We saw seals out there, the water was warm, and we had a whole beach practically to ourselves! It was a little adventurous crossing the channel with 10' kayaks, but we did it and didn't die. LOL
Watched the tide go out, walked the beach, watched seals, found all kinds of crabs, saw a squid, and decided to head back at around 3:30pm.
It was a little difficult doing the Mile back against the current, but the tide was so low that we walked some of it as it was easier than paddling. SUPER FUN DAY.

Beautiful beach with seals. Be forewarned: changing/bathrooms are tiny. Also, there are dead fish from high tide on the beach.

Water was a bit cool and big waves with an undercurrent. The High light of our trip was seeing quite a few seals on beach

Great clean beach, beautiful waves. Great to walk the length and get your exercise in. Plenty of life guards on duty. Snack bar with just about everything you would want on the beach.

beautiful beach ..watch for seals and great white sharks ..big sign warns all....snack shop with all your favorite seafood items

awesome fun but very crowded. Lots of guards and super yummy food shack but was super expensive. Overall very fun way to spend the day

This beach has a snack bar and lots of rocks on the beach. It is great for a day tip. We swung through on the way to Provincetown!

If you're in the area you have to stop and see this beach. It's beautiful and it goes for miles. We were there late Sept., which the off season, so it was free to park. Regular Season, it's $25 to park. You won't believe how nice the sand is!

Beautiful strand of sand with all the amenities. Parking is steep (as most beaches on the Cape) at $20, but large lots and plentiful parking. Short walk from the lot passes by changing rooms, food trucks, picnic area, and bathrooms (port a potties).

This is a wonderful Cape Cod beach. The sand is perfect for kids to build in and comfortable for adults to set up their chairs and relax on. The waves are great for body surfing and boogie boards. Be careful with small children as the waves can be overwhelming. There is a local clam shack at the beach so take advantage of the great food choices.

We spent the day at the Nauset Beach. Thankfully we brought our own chairs as none were available for rental. The beach was very clean and peaceful, even with a good crowd. There are food trucks and an ice cream truck in the parking lot for convenience. Very nice beach.

Beautiful place. Big wide beach and very clean. Went late in the day and just enjoyed watching the seals in the surf. Another day we off-roaded and went to the end. Spectacular

My 15 year old daughter and I stopped here briefly at the end of our day trip to The Cape. We wanted to get our feet wet. Parking was free as it was past 5pm. Nice walk to the beach. When we reached the water we could see 2 seals that were about 20 feet out, just swimming back and forth. It was a nice ending to our day. The water was absolutely freezing, despite the hot weather we have been having. And it is quite rocky as well. But the view was spectacular and the color of the water was stunning as well.

Nice large beach, soft sand and large parking area. There is a lighthouse to visit also. Went to the beach to watch the full moon rise after we viewed the Sunset on the Brewster flats, both beautiful.

This is a nice beach , great for long walks, watch the seals maybe see a whale or two.
We have been coming here for 14 years now and never been disappointed in the least

My family, 2 adults and 3 kids, were hoping for a better beach than we got. It had great sand and lifeguards which was nice. However this beach is popular and you end up on top of each other. Also, we were there as high tide was nearing and then going out some.
We wanted to boogie board but beach slant is steep and thus the waves broke right on the shore so there was no way to ride waves. Lots of cool rocks for my son to collect but had to brave the breakers to grab them and little to no shells.
Water was significantly colder on Atlantic side of Cape vs the bay side, which is to be expected but something to keep in mind when visiting.
This beach was our last one for the week and we had hoped for much more given the high ratings.
There is a bathroom and changing room which is nice.
Cost to park was $30. This seems fairly standard on the Cape during peak season.

The walk down to the beach (plus the rest rooms) are long gone from the recent bad storms but they have put up temporary facilities until something new is built. We visited on a rather dreary day but the atmosphere is always wonderful no matter what. We enjoy visiting here just for the lighthouse. Lots of parking available.

We went here twice on our recent visit to the Cape. $20 to park, but most beaches in the area are comparably priced. There are rest rooms, showers to clean off and quite a few food trucks with a variety of selections. It is very rocky, so getting in and out can be a little tricky, but worth it once you get in. The first day we were there they cleared people out of the water for an hour as there were seals out close to the shore and "possibly" some sharks around. The lifeguards seemed very responsive and where always on the lookout for action. One of the best beaches on the cape that we have visited!!!! Probably not the best for young kids, I would go to one of the beaches on the bay side with younger kids.

At this time of the year it is a great place to walk in the afternoon. It feels wild. It sounds wild. There are very few people on the beach.

If you want to have a great day with your family go to this beach.Parking is $20.00.It is a very busy place so go early.Free parking after four but....?
Food trucks for food and ice cream.

This is a great beach with a very long sandy shore that is perfect for a beach day. The beach is kept in a really good state and although the water is cold if you get away from the crowded areas it's perfect

We were a little surprised to pay $20 to park, but will say it was a good value. We're used to Florida Beaches and the Outer Banks, where they don't charge to park at the beach. Considering the nice restrooms and changing facilities, lifeguards and watchtowers, etc, $20 is a reasonable price to maintain this facility. The beach was wonderful. We went early and walked to our hearts content. We loved all of the beautiful rocks the ocean tossed up. It was different than the shells we're used to collecting, but very enjoyable. All of the staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful. Dressing rooms and restrooms are well maintained. Beach was very clean, free of trash. I look forward to coming here again.

Great private beach. Love the fact you can enjoy the Atlantic Ocean for miles and also cut across to the bay side to look for all types of sea critters. Perfect spot for a long walk.

Great beach. $20/day seems a bit steep but this beach is well lifeguarded and has decent facilities. Giant parking lot here but it fills up fast, try to get here early. At the south end of the beach there’s food trucks, showers and bathrooms.
Free parking before 7:30AM and after 4:30PM. Great sunrise here if your not fogged in.

Love this beach. Great sand and amenities. Long coastline. Great at night! Beautiful views of moon riding in August. Has some food trucks. Get there before 10 to ensure a spot. Parking was $20 a day. After 4:30 pm was free.

This is our favorite ocean beach on the Cape. We have never experienced a seaweed issue here, the walk from the car is short and doesn't require flights of stairs. It has a great snack bar and gear shop. Some of the national seashore beaches are more picturesque, but if you want to get in the water and have lunch on site, this is the spot for you. It fills up quickly on summer weekends, so get there early, And as an aside, it is a great place to watch a sunrise.

Our last night in Orleans and there was a bonfire and music on the beach. Although it was very foggy, this is a lovely beach to walk along, sandy, and there are toilet facilities with a large car park. The beach was packed with people and a fantastic evening to end our trip to Cape Cod.

The beach washed away this winter and is much narrower than before. No matter. It is miles long. Just spread out ! Liam's shack washed away but no big loss. The food was tasteless and heavily fried. Now there are five food trucks and the food is tasty. Falafel, hummus, fresh corn. Keep the trucks. This morning the ocean was closed for swimming aa there was a large shark cruising the beach and authorities were trying to tag it which they finally did. Exciting! People were wetting their toes but no real swimming like the guy last week in Truro that was 30 yards offshore swimming ! He got a nip on the hip and buttocks but was only in the hospital one night. Couldn't have been too bad. But really swimming that far offshore with great whites and seals around. ? We can coexist with these animals, just don't be foolhardy. Although that guy will have some great tattoos to flaunt at the beach !

There are a lot of great ocean beaches on the Cape, but Nauset is our fave. Lots of parking but don't show up at 10 on a hot beach day--you might have to wait.
Walk to the south/west end for less crowds.

For any trip to Cape Cod I HIGHLY recommend the book THE MAYFLOWER and THE PILGRIMS' NEW WORLD by Nathaniel Philbrick. I bought my copy at the National Seashore gift shop. After reading how the Pilgrims endured 65 days cramped up in a space between the decks of the MAYFLOWER that gave them only 5 feet of headroom and almost not a breath of fresh air I think I will find less and less reason to complain when lesser ills come my way. The book tracks the Mayflower and its passengers back and forth around the Cape and gives ample credit to the Native Americans as well. We ate doughnuts and drank coffee we had bought at the Hole In One doughnut and lunch cafe on this cold, cold and very windy day at Nauset and were thankful that we are living now, not then! Don't forget to get a copy of the book!

Quintessential cape beach with the large sand dunes and spectacular views. The beach itself has clean bathroom access and outdoor showers. There’s a nice bike path that many people use to access the beach as well. A great visit!

Nauset Beach in the fall is the perfect time to visit. Warm enough to walk barefoot along the water's edge, but quiet enough to enjoy the sound of the ocean. Numerous seal sightings. Walk to the left and you will run into lovely marsh lands hidden behind the dunes. All so beautiful.

When we were there, there was a shark alert and a huge seal swimming along the beach ~ SO everybody was out of the water for 2 hours. (Im amazed how fast people jump back into the water when the alert is lifted. I could not). Two weeks later it was on the news that a shark attack occurred right at that beach ~ to a seal. Beautiful beach but I would never swim there!

Great beach with very big waves and a serious undertow. It is fun to watch the seals swimming by - literally about 10 feet from the shore. They are unfortunately attracting great white sharks which have been spotted by the dozen in this area. Not safe for swimming due to sharks and the extreme rough surf but if you want to sit and listen to the surf, get some sun, take a walk, take a nap on the sand, etc -- this is the right place!

Excellent parking options. Wide beach with great amenities. Soft sand and quintessential Cape Cod vibe. So many beaches in the area.

The town of Orleans manages Nauset Beach, but the beach is not separate from the 30-mile National Seashore stretch of beaches. Parking at Nauset, you can walk for miles in the sand, swimming anywhere. It's one of the very best public beaches in the USA. One caution: you are very likely to sea seals, but those seals are being stalked by great white sharks! Due to this and the sometimes heavy surf, a close watch on children is essential.

Beautiful beach, white sand, turquoise surf. Excellent amenities in summer only though; nothing open (cafe, toilets etc) when we were there. Lots of car parking.

Beautiful Beach year round. So far,I have seen seals every year. Very clean and a great food area with a number of food trucks. A must see!

Get here early! they close the beach when the body count hits max.Great Job at keeping body count low to avoid crowding during social distancing

Our large, extended family went here a few days during a recent vacation to the cape. It costs $20/car to park or you can get a $75 pass to park for the week (this includes parking at Skaket beach). We recommend getting there early to get a good spot, as the beach fills quickly. Conveniently, there is a changing room/bathroom/shower area and food trucks. We saw several seals while there (but apparently that could mean sharks are near!). Unfortunately the water is very cold so we didn't get very wet while there, but we had a great time. Also, you can find great sea shells if you are observant.

Beautiful sunrises, big waves, warm sun and watching AWS tag a White Shark best summarize this year on the Cape at Nauset Beach. Please carry in and CARRY OUT YOUR TRASH!! Keep the beaches clean!

Nauset beach is a very nice beach but it is pretty rocky and shell covered. This beach is supposed to be excellent for finding sea glass unfortunately we did not find any but we did find some very pretty shells.
$20 to park is a bit high unless you plan on staying the whole day, however if you go after 6:00 as we did, parking is free.
Definitely don't miss this beach.

The food trucks are a nice addition after the loss of Liam's. Although the beach has changed over the years, it's always clean and quite.

Our absolute favorite spot. Arrive early if you can, stay to the left and enter the beach from there to avoid the huge crowds. Still a short walk to facilities, showers, and Liam's clam shack (best onion rings ever). Perfect in summer, beautiful in the fall. Best time to body surf or boogie board is at LOW TIDE so check the charts. Don't worry about sharks; nothing at all to worry about.

Cold water, watch for seals and their predators, otherwise fun waves and sand. Always popular so come early and get a spot at the end of the beach.

Lovely beach area, but quite a walk down to the beach if you are disabled. Open and wide, you can see for miles. Plenty of parking.

The beach was very picturesque. Although we didn't go swimming, we really enjoyed walking the beach which was practically deserted.

Nauset is still an amazing beach and way to spend the day but I couldn’t help but feel sad at the loss of the sand dunes and changes to the beach overall.
Liam’s Clam shack is gone as well as the gazebo... sad!
There are now food trucks which offer a good variety of selections for everyone.
The parking is $20 unless you wait until 4PM.
The showers and bathrooms are open until 8 PM so no reason to leave early! The best time of the day is when the crowds head home and everyone can JUST settle down to the sound of the waves and sparkle of the the light bouncing off the waves.
Nauset beach is truly a natural treasure .

We rented a house very close to this beach, and it was such a lovely suprise it have this beach within walking distance! The ocean itself on Nauset is very very cold, however it is durable for a quick dip. I would not reccomend this beach if you really enjoy swimming or dislike swimming in cold water. Another little thing about this beach is that there is a possibility of coming accross a great white shark since there are a lot of seals in the area. But that never happened to us, and no one else there, so don't avoid this beach for this reason. However the sand is very soft and relativly white. And the beach is very wide and goes on for miles, so it is great for a nice beach walk! If you are staying in the area of Orleans, come visit here!!

this is a great Beach. Plenty of Life guards and safety personnel and built in bathrooms! Also the waves are great for boogie boarding although it's on the ocean side so you need to be wary of sharks. Perfect sand. A fairly Long Beach so it's pretty easy to spread out during these coronavirus times. Very clean, good parking. Highly recommended.

Beautiful beach in Orleans. Several access areas, lifeguards, food truck and ice cream truck. Good for body boarding, skim boards etc. Waves can be rough for young kids and look out for the seals!

The beach is expansive and clean. We always meet the nicest people here. It is beautiful for walking-good for your feet

Best beach ever! Last winters storms created sandbars which made for wonderful waves. Addition of food trucks ideal solution for sad loss of Liam’s. Get there early(1030) bring an umbrella (or 2) and lots to drink and spend the day. Bug spray also.

The awesome seven mile beach has some of the best waves, convenient parking, clean restrooms and a world class clam shack. Bring your boogie board and sunglasses.

Great experience. Went the week before 4th of July. No issue with parking or beach space when we arrived before 10:00am. Filled up but still good as some of the early settlers started to leave after noon. Water is cold, beach is deep, sun is warm. Beware of sharks - you’re not allowed to venture out too far. Plenty of lifeguards. Lots of kids and teens.
We were able to park close to dunes. Vendor-Food and showers. Changing area. Port a Jon’s were cleanest ever!!
Went back at dusk. Sunset is behind you so it nicely illuminated the ocean waves. Very peaceful that time of night! Free access/parking that time of night.
Wife and adult kids.

This beach was a nice beach. We visited around 6:30pm on a cloudy day, so of course I am sure the beach looks friendlier in the daytime when the sun is shining. We saw a seal from the shore of the beach, but he didn't want to be photographed. When we visited, there were lots of Shark Sightings signs up on the beach and there was no lifeguard because it was the evening time, so we didn't really swim much. The beach was kind of scary in a beautiful way. The waves were huge, you wouldn't have been able to really swim anyways.
The snack shack Liam's closed shortly after we got there so we didn't get to try the food. Water was cold but refreshing. Sand was well maintained. The big waves and shark sighting signs everywhere make this not a great beach for children (check out Mayflower Beach instead.), but it is a nice beach for adults. My thoughts are that if you want an Ocean Only not bayside), and you only want to go in the water up your ankles, than this a good beach to go to. It was a beautiful, peaceful beach and we had the beach mostly to ourselves. I would come back to visit again, maybe in the daytime when the beach is really alive and the weather is sunny.

This is a beautiful beach at sunrise. If you are not a rock collector, you might be after your visit. The beach is filled with unique rocks of all shapes, sizes and colors. A great place to visit.

Being early May, the area was uncrowded and relaxing to explore.
This is yet another wonderful shoreline/beach area on the Cape; allowing one to enjoy the natural beauty of the coast.

We mainly visit Nauset Beach because we wanted to see the lighthouse and in order to park and go to the lighthouse you have to pay $20 at the beach parking area as there is no other parking. The beach itself is a bit rocky, not silky smooth sand like other cape beaches, but that adds to the charm of the beach. You have to walk down 5 flights of stairs to get off the dune/cliff onto the beach, which is kind of neat, not your typical New England beach set up. The weather was slightly crummy, it was cloudy with a little bit of mist, so I'm sure the beach wasn't as crowded as it normally would be, but it still was busy. We took a short walk on the beach before settling down to watch the surf and soak in the experience. We spotted seals in the water too. Just be aware and this is true for any beach on the cape, if there are seals in the area, there is a chance of sharks and the beach could be closed to swimming because of it. If you were beach hopping like us, you can take your receipt from the gate and show it at a few other of the beaches run by the National Seashore and get in for free on the same day.

Spent an afternoon roaming, playing, taking in the scenery. Beautiful beach for relaxing and enjoying the day.

I love the Cape, but you are on your own with regard to sharks. After Labor Day, no lifeguards or medical staff are present on the main beach, so you cab't get in the water with any sense of safety, Look for shark sightings on Sharktivity, an app; however I am unsure as to whether the data i as reliable out of season.
I won"t swim in the ocean, period, here until greater measures are taken to ensure the safety of beachgoers.
Even during the season, the off road areas have no warning signage. Lifeguards can not communicate to this area of the beach, so should a shark be nearby, these swimmers have no knowledge of the treat.
More must be done to protect beachgoers who are not aware of the danger here.

First of all, it is $25 for parking and you better bring your 4x4 because you park right on the beach! We had been in Harwich the day before and the water was surprisingly warm. However, the water at Nauset Beach was FREEZING!!! My husband and I were quite certain that we were not going to make it into the water because it was so cold. In addition to the cold water, the water in line with stones and it actually HURT to walk into the water. When you finally make progress into the water, the waves will push you back and you will be quite disappointed that you must make the painful journey on the rocks to get back into position. I am not sure how, but my husband and I actually made it in to our necks and body surfed for a few waves. The beach is beautiful and there are a bunch of Seals swimming around. I suggest bringing swim shoes if you want to get in and prepare for the cold!

We went at dusk and it was amazing. 20 dollars to park before 430 but we will go back and spend the day. Beautiful and seaweed free. Ps. A few shark sightings this week so be cautious but amazing wide beach!!

Came here one day while on the cape for some bigger waves. The beach was very crowded but we found a spot for our large group. The beach is very nice, sand is great too. The water was nice, a bit colder then other beaches but had great waves for boogie boarding and body surfing. The purple shark flags were flying and the sign at the entrance stated recent shark sighting but we were told that's the norm for that beach. Not a big deal for us.

Best beach on the Cape. Lots of people but plenty of space to spread out. Hefty daily parking fee.....$20.

We have been to a few beaches on the cape and this is our favorite so far! Great parking, clean water, big bathrooms, showers and FOOD and ICE CREAM TRUCKS! Lifeguards on duty during daytime hours. It’s a bit rocky but loads of fun. $20 to park for non-residents. Fabulous!

I've been top practically every beach on the Cape and there is no question - Nauset Beach is the best. It has access to the open Atlantic, protected by the National Seas Shore, huge in length, a huge parking lot, plenty of beach for everyone - and a fantastic place to take the kids kiting.

If it's playing Pickle with all of my cousins or riding the big waves, the memories I have made here will always make the cold water bearable and the green flies stings less painful.

What a wonderful beach-- clean with no rocks or shells to hurt your feet, great waves for boogie boarding at high tide. Low tide is super for small children and those who want to just wade in calmer water. Great parking. When you are on the beach you see nothing but water, the horizon, sand, and dunes! No buildings, no highrises-just stunning beach! We were at this beach morning and night and every hour in-between. We loved being there. Loved seeing the seals, but there were shark sightings so pay attention to the signs and the guards. There are no restrooms here but there are portajohns, outdoor showers, changing rooms and food trucks. No snack shack but that did not matter to us as we took a cooler with our lunches and snacks. This is one of the most beautuful beaches on Cape Cod. Water was nice, parking was close and you didn't have to take a tram. Highly recommend!

Totally worth the $20 parking fee. Not crowded. Amazing views. Not nearly as rocky as beaches further west.

Went to see the beach while in Cape Cod, the water is so clean and the beach is too! Must be aware there are sharks in these waters and signs posted everywhere! And there is even safety pamphlets which is pretty cool if you follow sharks and shark week like we do! But really is a pretty beach and there is bathrooms and a snack place as well to get some quick bites.

Beautiful beach and been going here for forty yrs, with our children and now with our grandchildren! The water here is perfect for those with children because the waters are calm! Very clean beach and just a lovely scenic beach in the beautiful town of Orleans( our favorite place to stay for in middle of the Cape!)! This is a nice beach to go and spend the day with the family, as a couple or by yourself! You will absolutely love ❤️ this beach!

Severe damage has occurred during the first weeks of February due to the storms. Visit the beach before it is completely changed!

Grew up summers on the cape - so nauset was our weekend hang out. The beach is awesome, the waves are great and the water is absolutely refreshing (in other words - pretty darn cold). I take my kids there now and they love it. Running in and out of the surf or just walking along the shore - so nice. We tend to go around dusk and watch the seals swim around, the sun go down, and the moon lights up the beach - it's a beautiful sight and one myself and my fantasy love doing many times throughout the summer.

Being our first time to the Eastern states this beach is BEAUTIFUL, very clean and wide. The sand was different being a mixture of small rocks and crushed seashells but easliy able to be walked on. Great waves, we were able to see seals and other wildlife. Restrooms were right on the beach. BEWARE though the water is VERY COLD(55° that day) even in June but the water was crystal clear! We would definitely like to visit again!

August visit on a cool day. Wide sandy beach with lots of seals (and, therefore, sometimes sharks) off the beach. Liam's seafood shack offers a wide variety of fried seafood, burgers and shakes. $20 per car to park for the day.
As our kids grew up, we have always come to Brewster, and are now homeowners in the town. For years, we gave our kids the option of a "big wave beach", the open ocean, the small wave beach, "Nauset Sound" or the "no wave beach", Cape Cod Bay. As they grew older, the big wave beach became their favorite. Nauset Beach is our favorite "big wave" beach. Parking can be a challenge on mid summer weekends, but otherwise plentiful. You park close to the beach and has a reasonably flat access, unlike the open ocean beaches to the North. The rest rooms are clean and there is a great outdoor seafood restaurant with open air seating. Plus the beach is great as well.
