Impressive but Welcoming Gallery of NM Art

By Elizabeth B |

The Nedra Matteucci Galleries may seem intimidating to the casual gallery-goer but don't let that stop you from stepping in. The staff is wonderfully friendly and helpful. I visited in June, 2016 and soon realized I had been missing out on a wonderful experience. From small sketches to monumental canvases, the work of well known NM artists is on display, art that I had thought I would have to go to major national galleries to see. Berninghaus, Gaspard, Fechin, and Baumann, among many other NM artists, are well represented this season. Enjoy them while they are here. On the way to the beautiful statuary garden, don't miss the grand mountain/cloud landscape by Wilson Hurley. And do not forget the birches at the entry to the garden - they must be 100's of years old! I've travelled to Santa Fe since the 70's and this was one of the top 5 experiences I've had there.

So glad we didn't miss this!

By Bestyears_11 |

The sculpture garden at the Nedra Matteucci Galleries feels like a sacred space. I will always remember the time I spent just wandering from one great sculpture to the next, following the stone paths which wound through lush foliage and around a beautiful duck path. I felt a little funny stopping in -this is a place of business, and I don't have thousands of dollars to spend on art. I stuck my head in the door and tentatively asked, "Is it okay if I just walk through the sculpture garden?" Nedra was instantly gracious, "Of course! Come in, and look all around." It was truly an exquisite way to spend half an hour.

More than a gallery

By Drew R |

We found about this gallery on trip advisor and really enjoyed our visit. Great variety of artwork and the personnel are unbelievably knowledgeable and kind. Don’t miss the backyard

Highlight of Santa Fe

By BDD_11_12 |

This is absoluty a MUST SEE! Not exactly on the Canyon Road art gallery area, but very close. The venue is beautiful. In a home like setting with many rooms to wander through. Art is museum quality. Take the time to view the outdoor sculpture garden....lovely!

Museum Quality Art For Sale

By Jennifer L |

This is a must visit for any lover of serious art and adobe architecture. Room after room of breathtaking art works by the likes of Georgia O'Keefe and Andrew Wyeth and a multitude of prominent artists. The prices are a little breathtaking as well but it doesn't cost to look. As if this weren't enough there is a vast garden with pools and sculpture which make for a delightful meander.

Wow!

By Karen L |

This was on our list of things to see but far exceeded our expectations! Wonderful! Not only was the gallery great but the gardens with all of the bronze statues made for such a restful, peaceful experience.

Not a gallery for tourists

By dick6645 |

This was founded as the Fenn gallery many years ago and is a gallery for serious collectors. The sculpture garden is the most creative and be.st in Santa Fe

Santa Fe Oasis

By Pryncesse |

This is an outstanding gallery, beautiful, wide-ranging collection in an interesting building. The staff was friendly and helpful but not intrusive. In back of the gallery is a large garden area with a lovely pond and many sculptures. I especially liked a large piece depicting Pueblo maidens carved from pink marble. This gallery is just off Canyon Avenue, so it is convenient, and it has a parking lot! Well worth your time.

Our Favorite Gallery in Santa Fe

By Eric T |

If you like art or beautiful gardens, be sure to visit this gallery. This place is quite large with numerous paintings, sculpture, furniture and jewelry by some very notable artists. We were greeted with smiles the entire time we visited. Leave sufficient time to see it all and be sure to check out the garden area.

A must see for art, architecture, garden

By SantaFeGardenGirl |

It's worth a visit just to see the building and garden. The gallery is full of world-class paintings, pottery, sculpture and jewelry by well-known artists and unknown craftsmen. It's a museum-quality education in a classic setting. The knowledgeable, friendly staff will add to your visit. Be sure you walk through the gallery's many rooms to the walled garden. It's an unexpected oasis of calm and beauty.

Best Gallery in Santa Fe

By SanDiegoHummingbird |

Everything about this gallery is perfection: the artwork, the building itself, the sculpture garden, and the lovely, helpful and knowledge people that work there.

Wow...such a wonderful surprise...the art, the garden! Totally worth it. And free1

This was one of many beautiful galleries but this one has a peaceful sculpture garden and beautiful old and contemporary art. Even had a Georgia O'Keefe for sale!

The highest quality classic and modern art in a gorgeous setting.
A throw back to an older world of quality and fineness.

the sculpture garden is worth your time.

Cool building

This is a really beautiful building. Parking is available. Nice artwork. Fantastic pond in the back.

Great big wow! Superior art in a town full of art!

By Molly L |

I returned to this gallery for the second time last week, and found it to be as enjoyable as the first time. It is not a museum but a gallery. However, the staff is very congenial and happy to answer questions. They did not mind me taking photos inside and out. There is no admission fee. I enjoy the art here more than any other gallery or museum in town. There is a large, pleasant, landscaped area outside with remarkable animal sculptures one can easily spend 45 minutes looking at and enjoying. Inside there is room after room of art and jewelry and sculptures that are very deftly placed. It feels like a Santa Fe home stuffed with beautiful art! Again, the staff seemed happy to answer questions and didn't seem to mind that we were just "looky-loos" wandering around admiring their pieces that are mostly in the tens of thousands of dollars. I think kids would enjoy the outside gardens as there is some whimsical art and a little pond. I highly recommend a stop here, despite the many other places with art in this town. We spent between one to two hours, but really took our time wandering through.

Even in the rain, the gardens were irresistable.

By Westea |

wander through multiple rooms and garden spaces filled with wonderful carvings, scuptures, tree-framed fanciful creatures, or even just some children in a sculpted tree trying to rescue an unwilling cat.
peacocks, elephants, native american art, fruit trees, koi pond fountains, I cannot list all the delights.

Lovely Gallery

By Deborah G |

This is a lovely Gallery with much to choose from in an array of pricing....a nice walk from town to get to the Gallery.

The best gallery and garden in all of sante fe

Wedding Visit

By lodo5762 |

We had the pleasure of photographing here after our wedding it was just the two of us & our photographer, so beautiful - we were grateful to see the beauty this gallery has to offer.

A Definite Point to Visit

By AaronFWA |

We loved the outdoor sculpture garden...absolutely first class...and the art...superb.
We had grown a bit tired near the end of the day and the owner's sister graciously gave us a lift to our downtown inn. THAT is an A plus in and of itself,

Probably the best art gallery I've ever visited

By flaneur40 |

I am grateful to TripAdvisor for drawing my attention to this place that I probably would have otherwise missed. It is a fantastic gallery in an historic space and a wide range of art on display (don't miss the sculpture garden). The proprietors are very friendly and eager to converse about the artists on display.

A Piece of History

By SusanneDS |

Don't miss this gallery and there is even parking out front. This is a magical place that feels a little like a museum as well as a lovely Santa Fe home.

Loved this gallery!

By JMD |

The gallery has some beautiful pieces and many whimsical sculptures. It is jam packed and even has a pond and sculpture garden.

NOT TO BE MISSED IN SANTA FE!

By Guy Cook |

This is the jewel in the crown of all the Santa Fe art galleries! And the gardens are also something not to be missed!

Amazing!

By catann50560 |

This gallery is just SO....nice! Great inside with lots of Native American Art! My favorite though is their outdoor sculpture garden! It is phenominal! If only I could afford these sculptures...would take one of EVERYTHING!

Hidden Gem

By luvtotravel1234 |

You can't say you have seen Santa Fe art galleries if you haven't been to Nedra's. It is the quintessential Santa Fe art experience not to be missed. Southwest art at its finest. The garden out back is not to be missed! Gives you an idea of the hidden courtyards that exist in this town. It is why people love Santa Fe.
Wonderful friendly staff, top rated art none finer anywhere in the world not in a museum.visted and patronized by the rich and famous that live and visit Santa Fe.

Fave gallery in Santa Fe

By Trish M |

I stop by Nedra Matteucci Gallery every time I am in town. They have the most amazing pieces and you can often find a Fechin, O'Keeffe, or Gaspard for sale. They also have paintings by one of my fave local artists, Walt Gonske. The sculpture garden is a little oasis and so pleasant, summer or winter.

Gorgeous Garden With Sculptures

By MSWMom50 |

Visited here during our April trip to Santa Fe this year. I wanted to see this gallery based on the excellent reviews I read here on trip advisor. Since this gallery is fairly close to Canyon Road, it was easy to visit both during our walking tour. The gallery is in a very beautiful building and there is no cost to visit. We did not spend much time inside looking at the paintings which I did not find all that intriguing. The prices for the artwork was astounding! The real draw here for me was the outdoor sculpture garden, a real treat. There are beautiful plantings, a pond, water features and paths. The sculptures were very fun to see, an amazing collection. At the time that we visited, it was a rather cool spring day and we had the garden to ourselves. I would definitely recommend a visit here when you are in Santa Fe. When you get done seeing the gallery, stop at Kakawa Chocolate House across the road for a delicious hot chocolate drink.

Great Art

By Lawrence |

Attended the opening of Has Paap works and had a great time. Many great artist to view and very well laid out gallery.

Wow!

By CJ2020 |

This place was the best!

The walk through the garden of bronze sculptures, some incredible drawings from local artists, a helpful staff that really seems to enjoy being there.

Going through the museum and seeing clusters of work from a community of local artists, it is very interesting to see how some of them see the world.

For a relatively small little gallery, it is truly outstanding.

outstanding art & historical works

By cart317 |

Did not have enough time to view it all! Not enough money to get all I wanted and couldn't carry it to our vehicle anyway!

Beautiful

By fwazie |

I found this gallery on line and had to visit it. It was even more beautiful than I expected. Be sure to have your camera. I was there in late fall and though the colors were beautiful, I can only imagine how beautiful it is in the spring and summer. This was definitely a highlight of my trip to Santa Fe

Still Top Notch, Quality of Art, Presentation, Helpful Staff and A Lovely Patio Garden!

By MaryEllenM27 |

This is one of the best galleries in Santa Fe and there are a lot of them. They have various famous artists' works at all times in special displays. The staff is very helpful yet, unless you want help, they allow you to look around freely. They even encourage photographs. If you have questions, their enthusiasm in giving answers is wonderful. You never feel they are being put out or are bored with their job.

The staff never act like you are not well dressed enough or are not rich enough. Their back interior patio garden with its large pond, waterfowl and various sculptures is just great and very relaxing.

Great gallery

By Shannydog |

Almost a museum of Taos and Santa Fe painters and sculptors. Beautiful gardens with wonderful sculpture place throughout. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Even if you’re not an art lover, the gallery is worth the visit.

Sculpture garden, a little green paradise

By timmind |

Although this is a gallery with work for sale for figures containing many zeroes, the staff warmly welcomes humble tourists like ourselves who appreciate it as a museum and garden. The grounds are so verdantly beautiful, pond and waterfall and stone, and the sculpture is so naturally integrated in the landscape. If your head is spinning with too many galleries and shops, enter and relax.

Stunning

By M&T |

Pleasantly surprised by this studio. The grounds are stunning. The wall built around the tree is quaint. Beautiful artwork.

Beautiful

By gooner817 |

The work on display inside and out is great. The staff can be a little on the condescending side but the works in the gallery are worth the trip. Even if you just drop by and have a look at the sculptures on the outside, it's worth your time.

Best private art gallery

By Elaine |

My brother and I spent a couple of very enjoyable hours here. It is fantastic. Many rooms of beautiful objects and paintings. A magnificent outdoor sculpture garden.
Friendly and informative staff. Definitely a must see when in Santa Fe. Superb place.

Beautiful Art, Peaceful Outdoor Area

By karlitEdmondOK |

Art to appeal to every taste. The sculptures in the garden area are wonderful. Perfect place for a quite moment.

One of the finest galleries in the world

By Montezsantafe |

Museum quality art in a gorgeous setting including gardens and helpful staff including gallery manager Dustin.

possibly my favorite gallery for classic and well collected artists

By Heather W |

I love to wander through this gallery in an historic building with classic western paintings and sculpture. It is almost a museum.

“A Joy to Behold!”

By Allyn L |

The sculpture garden is a joy to behold, and the gallery collection is a stunning combination of historical and contemporary Western and Southwestern art, ( all for sale if you have a collector’s budget. ) The gallery space is in a beautiful historic building. How have we missed it all these years?!

Beautiful and welcoming

By beartx123 |

We held our wedding in the gardens which were absolutely beautiful. The staff was wonderful and welcoming. The gallery is just beautiful!!

A little slice of heaven in Santa Fe

By Nancy-Ann-22 |

I come to Santa Fe at least twice a year. I don’t go to a lot of galleries, but I will surely visit this one again. Inside, many treasures, large and small, are thoughtfully displayed in a building with many rooms and corridors. But then you go outside to a most delightful large garden with sculptures that interact beautifully with the pond and the trees and shrubs. It reminds me of New Jersey’s Grounds for Sculpture on a smaller, more manageable scale. So very beautiful!

Art at its best

By Dudley H |

Variety, quality, some of the masters, the wonderful historical building. One of the best galleries in the Southwest ...maybe in the country.

Phenomenal Art Gallery!

By srkey55 |

We went through a large number of galleries while in Santa Fe, and this topped the list by far! If you are going to buy, you'd better have deep pockets. :-) But the variety of works on display and the quality of the works are amazing. This gallery has more than many art museums. We loved it.

Beautiful Garden

By Karin V505 |

This is my favorite gallery in town in every season but the winter. The gallery has a good selection of art ranging from native american to contemporary. The staff is so happy to offer information and they are good with teens to point out various things about the artwork and give some interesting back history on the pieces. This place is a hidden gem in town.

An outstanding gallery for art lovers

By NorcalWanderlust |

We very much enjoy and occasionally purchase fine. We stopped here for what we believed would be a cursory tour but quickly realized that this is a world-class gallery with many, many fine paintings and sculptures. We were not in the acquisition mode, but if we has been, we no doubt would not have empty-handed. And do not miss the back sculpture garden. It is truly remarkable.

Amazing sculpture garden and pond in the back

By Jonathan M |

Anyone looking to narrow down their search for relevant art galleries need not go further than Nedra and Canyon Road. The collection is thorough and traditional and the arrangement of sculptures in the backyard garden and pond alone are worth the visit. Try to keep an eye out for "the biggest bullfrog in the southwest" as he usually sleeps alongside the pond and waterfall under the sculpture of the children in the tree. It's a lovely diversion from the ordinary every time I come to visit. Best art gallery in Santa Fe, hands down.

Make sure you go to both

By Wanda R |

There is this location and their sister gallery on Canyon Road. Make sure you get the address of their Canyon Road location. Both galleries are in beautiful buildings. The one on Canyon Road kind of reminded me of a museum based on the pieces and how they were displayed. Very nice. A very Native American theme. They have some sculptures outside but I was most impressed with the inside. The Nedra has a very large outdoor sculpture garden which really has great bronze sculptures. Although they do have nice indoor pieces it had a broader mix of art. The house setting though is beautiful. ParkIng is limited. Stop in if you have a chance.

The Nedra Matteucci Galleries Experience

By Jackie S |

Beautiful pieces available from North American artists. The gallery has several paintings, indigenous Jewelries, sculptures, and furniture that together tells you the history of New Mexico. One more thing, visit the gallery’s garden. You will be amazed with the sculpture, little lake wit carps, and ducks. Free entrance.

A favorite. We always go back.

By 3HappyDays |

Don't miss their sculpture garden, it's wonderful. And always love seeing the Hurley paintings and their price tag.

A Must See Galery!

By HannaKathryn |

This gallery is a beautiful oasis in the desert-Besides the marvelous art - sit in the gardens! The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable - Ask for Robert Carr- he is the best!

Still one of The Best! Beautiful Classic Art & Sculpture. Not Modern Art.

By MaryEllenM27 |

If you are interested in the best of classic western and other painted artwork and bronze sculptures this is the place to come. Very famous artist's works on display and for sale at reasonable/fair prices. Never any pressure or sidelong glances...only helpful answers.

Nicely priced, genuine native art as well. Their back patio gardens are a real oasis of tranquility in the middle of Santa Fe...quite a surprise. Lovely little lake rimmed by a pathway of manicured lawn, landscape and sculpture. Also some fantastic huge white bark poplar trees growing in the back.

Wonderful Gallery

By thomas29144 |

Great collection, very knowlegable and helpful staff, let us (3) see a piece that was not officially on display. The garden art pieces and water fall were excellent.

the best ever

By judith l |

Can't say much more- wow. It was formerly the Fenn gallery, and as such won our hearts for being our favorite gallery ever. They moved and have reincarnated as the Nedra Matteucci Galleries, and are fabulous.

This is a stunning gallery with museum quality art

By 970marya2014 |

The gallery has been open for over 40 years I believe and has outstanding art in a beautiful setting. Be sure to tour the garden which is the most attractive one I have seen in the area. The garden is full of sculpture and lovely landscaping.

A gift to the eyes, heart and soul.

By Heidi B |

a must see gallery in Santa Fé with excellent indoor and outdoor exhibits. A marvelous array of art to feast your eye on and to let your spirit enjoy. A delight for each of us to treasure in our own way!

The Sculpture Garden an Oasis of Beauty

By TwinFlames |

Please visit and buy if you can. Not only sculpture and Fine Art but exceptional jewelry too. Please visit the garden with a pond and beautiful platings. We were married there in 2010.

Incredible collection

By SJH3827 |

Located adjacent to Canyon Road's wonderful galleries, this world class gallery is the best of the best in Santa Fe. It's more like visiting a top notch museum, and is at least on par with many of Madison Avenue's best. Can't wait to go again!

Like An Attractive Museum With Beautiful Art !

By PRCDenver |

Many appealing rooms of art with a mostly traditional bent. A beautiful garden with sculptures and a water feature is included in this place of an engaging and friendly staff that all comes alive with art!

A Must See

By Janet M |

This is a must see gallery. Many years ago you might remember it by the name Fenn Gallery. It has the most exceptional quality of works available, plus you can wander the beautiful grounds of blooming plants, exceptional bronzes and statuary, pond, an oasis of green grass in an area that mostly has xeriscaping. The staff is thoughtful and knowledgeable.

Still the Best Santa Fe Gallery

By SantaFeCruiser |

Great art in a classic old adobe with gorgeous gardens and a hidden pond. Really, next to Canyon Road, the most important stop for Southwest art lovers.

If you're doing the arts tour, DON'T miss

By cdpinNYC |

We literally had wandered most of Santa Fe looking in galleries and only found this place because it was so highly rated on the Trip Advisor list. It is close to the Canyon Road gallery fiesta, and worth the extra walk. We were a bit late in the day, and not expecting much, but when you walk in, ohmygod, it's unbelievable. It is like the most incredible art shown in someone's house and the neighbors are running it, and they tell you to just make yourself at home. We found ourselves literally standing right up against Wyeths, Remingtons, an O'Keefe, and countless other wonderful pieces that we could almost feel. The staff are so laid back, I envy them. I would find it nerve-wracking. The statue garden is worth an hour or more. Beautiful and tranquil. I wish, oh how I wish, that I could have afforded a few pieces. This is the real thing. Anytime we return, we would divert to find this place. Must see.

A must see gallery with an amazing sculpture garden

By Steve S |

This is a must see gallery in Santa Fe. Such a large and beautiful space. Do not miss going into the sculpture garden! I almost cried when I walked out into this space. A large pond with waterfall and exquisite sculptures that fit into the environment. The artwork is very expensive, but so many well known local artists and worth the visit.

Excellent gallery

By Ducescoop |

Beautiful art work and gorgeous gardens. Many exquisite southwest pieces of art, jewelry, and sculptures.

Must visit

By MFMaven53 |

After reading the reviews, we decided to stop by. WOW! The are, the edifice, the sculpture garden. All fantastic. Knowledgeable staff...better than a museum for learning about the arts and history of Santa Fe.

Great gallery, especially the gardens out back !

By Ed M |

Very beautiful gallery grounds, especially out back. Make sure you tour outside as well as inside. The artwork inside was also amazing -- including some Picasso originals !

Awesome gallery and grounds

By Roger P |

This gallery has it all: variety of art, quality of the art, beauty and atmosphere of the building itself, a helpful and well-informed staff, and a wonderful garden area with a large pond for your enjoyment. Whether starting or adding to a collection, or simply in the mood for some beautiful artwork, don't pass up the opportunity to visit Nedra Matteucci Galleries.

DON'T MISS...SERIOUSLY

By Dianna P |

There is a reason this is listed as the number one place to visit in Santa Fe on trip advisor. It's free and it's beautiful! I wish we would have had more time.

Outstanding outdoor sculpture garden

By Houston27tx |

Art inside is very impressive and very expensive. The staff, even if they know you aren't going to buy, were friendly and helpful. The outdoor sculpture garden is the best I've seen anywhere, especially if you like sculpture of children is active poses. Check out the one with the cat on the limb and the kids climbing the tree. It looked so real we almost didn't see it as a sculpture.

A hidden gem

By Travis H |

This gallery is located away from downtown and from Canyon Road (THE art gallery strip in Santa Fe), but it is worthwile the detour. beautiful pieces, all from New Mexican residents between 1800s up to 1920s. Amazing paintings, bronze sculptures in pretty and peaceful garden. There's even an original from Georgia O'Keefe!

Outstanding - beautiful art and fabulous courtyard area in back!

By MT1 |

My wife and I visited this gallery with friends while visiting Santa Fe. The parking lot is quite small but imagine there is other parking around the facility in the area.

Virtually everything was WAY outside our price range and clearly for wealthy folks, but the artwork on display is beautiful and the staff was very friendly. For us it was essentially like visiting a museum with wonderful paintings, sculptures, jewelry, some furniture pieces, etc. The building is split up into numerous rooms and there is a gorgeous outdoor area with a pond & small waterfall, trees and plants and lots of large sculptures on display. To give you an idea of prices, the most expensive picture we saw was $825k (several at $400k or so) and many of the large sculptures were in the $20k-$80k range.

Would highly recommend a visit to this beautiful gallery just to appreciate the wonderful items on display.

Museum quality art with a lovely sculpture garden

By Cathe P |

This is definitely one of the most prestigious galleries in Santa Fe. Nedra and her husband have been dedicated and sophisticated collectors for many years. I always the people here when they visit Santa Fe.

Art lovers rejoice!

By coyote608 |

If you're short on time, skip Georgia O'Keefe and tour this instead. We were blown away. I saw many, many pieces that I had to take my time to visually take in. Just gorgeous. The property itself lends itself to a meandering stroll -- both inside and out. I can't emphasize this enough: this is my favorite of all the art venues we visited in Santa Fe, and we visited many!

Not to be missed!

By LindaGTonyG |

Received a very welcoming reception, in spite of the fact I was obviously merely window shopping.
Quality of art on view seemed superb - a treat wherever you looked. Garden was a delight for all the senses.

Gorgeous gallery and sculpture garden

By Linda B |

A gorgeous highend art gallery , stunning art in a stunning old house, and the gardens are a must see

An Original

By nativenm55 |

The Nedra Matteucci Gallery is one the oldest and best art galleries in a town with just about more art galleries in one location than anywhere else in the USA.

Sculpture Garden

By Adam I |

Beautiful sculpture garden in the back. Peaceful, green area with pond. Benches to sit on and just relax.

From a fascinating 200 year old building, springs Impressive Artwork

By obrimark |

A one-of-a-kind, originally 19th Century Spanish building sprawling with many unique additions and display areas, including a terrarium and a library. Parking is adequate, and only a block from Canyon Rd. Over 100 artists represented, including an array of wall art, bronzes, glass, pottery and jewelry. Something and a price range for everybody, with friendly staff.

Garden and sculptures a real treat

By Kris M |

Among the prettiest gardens in all of Northern NM. Classic Taos and Santa Fe colonies of artists' work. Fine old jewelry as well. If only making two or three galleries in Santa Fe, this is one to visit.

Sculpture Garden is a must see!

By LuannMC |

Wonderful large gallery and beautiful sculpture garden! Worth a stop just to wander through the garden and enjoy the art!

skip the main part of the gallery, just go on through to the back

By lasarilla |

the gallery itself was not to my taste at all (although i'm sure it would be to others) but the building is quite fun, as it is an old bank so you are looking at art in old vaults. but the best part is the back garden, a huge space (several acres) full of sculptures and statues as well as a little lake, fountains etc.

Must see

By Sepib0 |

The garden section is not to be missed! We felt welcome to browse around and look at all the art. All the pieces in this gallery were beautiful. This place is a little piece of heaven.

Find your way up the road and you won't be disappointed

By Sophie608 |

Thanks to trip advisor we searched out this stunning gallery and it's serene sculpture garden. The gallery staff were very receptive to questions and made us feel welcome. There is some much to see including several Georgia O'Keeffe paintings. After we crossed the street to have an intriguing chocolate elixir at Kacawa.

Huge gallery but for the average joe there is nothing you can afford in that gallery. The staff were very friendly.

Lovely Indoor and Outdoor Gallery

By TimeTraveler_800 |

Make a point to take visitors to this gallery who also wish to see Canyon Road. Lovely pieces throughout, and a stroll through the outdoor garden sculpture area is wonderful.

Don't miss this!

This is an outstanding Gallery with world renowned artists. No junk, no trinkets - in an amazing old Santa Fe residence. The doors were worth the trip.

By mushroommarlene |

High end art with really friendly staff. One of my favorites in Santa Fe, and there are a lot of galleries to chose from!

A lovely gallery with stunning grounds. Our tour was made even more enjoyable by an absolutely lovely associate named Juanita. What an asset she is to this gallery!

This is a "must see" in Santa Fe!

By Beverly C |

From the friendly welcome at the front door to the beautiful gardens in the back, this was a delightful experience. It's worth it to stop and see how some old homes have been utilized and expanded into a charming, sophisticated gallery featuring some of the finest southwestern and Indian art around. Consider it a museum visit if you wish!

Expansive Gallery...

By GandGTraveler |

Outstanding sculpture garden with pond and waterfall with a variety of art work from many periods inside the gallery. A very expansive selection that you are sure to find something appealing to your taste.

Wonderful, friendly staff

By James O |

Wonderful, friendly staff, Old art from the Santa Fe Area. There is an outstanding sculpture garden in back of the gallery.

Never A Disappointment! This Gallery includes Art Gallery Rooms and a hidden Garden with A Lovely Running-Water Pond.

By MaryEllenM27 |

We never visit Santa Fe without going to Matteucci Gallery to see its amazing collection of art originals, sculpture, jewelry, outdoor sculptures and its serenely gorgeous walled, back-patio garden. You can walk around the calming running-water pond back there, enjoying the waterfowl, sculpture garden and the awesome gigantic white bark Birch trees.

Even if you never buy a single item, the staff welcome you. Its a no-pressure pleasure to stop by Matteucci at any time of year. Cool in Summer, and festive during the Holidays. Just across the street is the Kakawa Chocolate House and a little further down the road to the north on Paseo de Peralta comes the southern end of Canyon Road.

unfriendly hosts

By megan g |

the people who ran the gallery were rude and condescending! I asked about an artist and they said I should have known! will not be back!

Really a Small Museum

By Bernie D |

A Must See in Santa Fe - A small restored house converted into an extensive gallery. And the garden in the rear is a virtual oasis in Santa Fe. Limited free parking.

UNIQUE GALLERIES

By C0C0san |

A visit to Santa Fe without having paid a visit to Nedra Matteucci Galleries is not a full fledged experience of having been to Santa Fe...the most unique galleries in Santa Fe. The buildings alone are unique and the Gallery in the Corner of Paseo de Peralta has one of the most unique gardens in Santa Fe complete with a Pond with Gold Fish.

Spectacular gallery

By rac-columbus |

So glad we visited here. After many trips to Santa Fe, our first time at Matteucci. Great collection of paintings, sculptures, artifacts, pottery and jewelry. Do not miss their beautiful outdoor space...pond, waterfalls, trees, fabulous sculptures. Range of prices was surprisingly wide, giving every serious collector some good options. The staff are most courteous and good sources of information. We will return next time for sure.

Nedra Matteucci Galleriy experience

By Mark B |

Unforgettable Gallery, filled with magic and peaceful surroundings. Early morning is the best time...My husband and I went to take photos and the lighting was outstanding...The sculptors are life-size and very beautiful. The pond and cascading water-fall adds to the charm...We stayed there for hours and escaped the world around us...I sincerely recommend this amazing Gallery.

Great Gallery for Fine Art

By Ann M |

This gallery enjoys a long reputation for showing old masters along with contemporary artists who are masters as well. The Gallery courtyard is stunnning with many fine bronze sculptures. Not to be missed.

A gallery experience not to be missed!

By Phyllis J |

As I wandered through the rooms of the gallery of found myself as intrigued with the architecture of the building as the incredible collection of art. You must check out the website to see the impressive list of artists represented here. The gallery specializes in 19th and 20th century art and I particularly liked the galleries Western and Southwestern works. The collections are so diverse that you feel like you are viewing an extensive private collection. The one-acre sculpture garden is a feast for the eyes and adds immensely to the experience. We visited in February and the garden was brown from the ravages of winter but the sculptures gave life to the garden. My husband and I were transfixed. I was told by a staff member that the gallery was at one time a farm house with the second floor as the residence and the first floor a gallery and although it has been expanded many times over the years, it remains a residence above and a gallery below which explains the warmth. The collection of art, coupled with the unique adobe structure makes this gallery an experience not to be missed.

The Best in the West

By BeebzAbroad |

This gallery consistently handles the finest art, especially artists of the Southwest. The staff, especially Harry and Robert, are both friendly, helpful & knowledgeable... never stuffy. The back garden full of great sculptures is a heavenly oasis in the city of Santa Fe.

Best gallery in Santa Fe

By Debra L |

Stunning collection of some of the best artists.
Stunning garden of ponds and water foul in a tranquil setting outside. Be sure to ask for the door to reach the gardens with the outdoor art. This is just off the plaza approx. 2 blocks. Worth the time to take a book and enjoy the gardens. I love this place.

Fabulous Scultpure Gardens and Art

By Lynne M |

A fellow SF Rotarian recommended we go check out their art and especially the sculpture garden. I couldn't get enough of it! Photo'd the sculptures from every angle and them some. It was a sunny day, (when isn't it in SF). Of course nothing I could afford by far, but that didn't take away from the experience. It was inspiring and awesome. My partner is a techy and even he was impressed and that takes some doing. very friendly staff, they 'know' your'e a tourist and ask where you are from. They 'know' you aren't likely to buy, but that doesn't seem to be a big concern to them. This place is not intimidating to non art folks. In fact of all the galleries I wondered into, no one was pushy.

Wonderful "must see" gallery

By Trevlee |

One of the galleries you must visit when in Santa Fe. Very special and sometimes feels like you are in a museum of fine art.

Amazing art collection

By MamaBeary |

We love to visit the Metteucci Gallery. It's set in an beautiful buiding with delightful sculpture garden. The art is tops.

Amazing art gallery and sculpture garden

By sluggersam |

We've visited this gallery many times over the past 2 years since we moved back to Albuquerque. This place is our first stop in Santa Fe when we have out of town visitors. The gallery is very large and has many important art pieces on display. Especially beautiful is the approximately 1 acre outdoor sculpture garden with its pond and extensive amount of grass. It is a tranquil oasis in the city. Robert Carr, the assistant director, is especially knowledgeable and accommodating to all gallery visitors

Beautiful Gallery - A Must See!

By Melissa B |

This Gallery is a Must See when visiting Santa Fe. This is one of the Best Galleries in Santa Fee and one of the oldest! The artwork and sculptures are stunning.

An amazing gallery

By Grace H |

our visit to this gallery was truly a once in a lifetime! we learned so much , the gallery truly conveys the passion of the artists.

One of my favorite galleries in Santa Fe

By Esundeen |

I absolutely love the outdoor portion of this gallery. You'd never know it was back there, and it's totally unique in New Mexico. Amazing! I should mention that I could never afford to buy anything there, but it's fun to check it out. And there's a chocolate shop across the street!

Artistic excellence

By bdb33DUB |

My husband and I love going to Nedra's on every visit to Santa Fe. John is always helpful, pleasant and extremely personable.

It had been years since we had visited this wonderful art gallery

By 46749 |

We really should come back each and every time we are in Santa Fe. I have been to museums that do not have the art that Nedra Matteucci Galleries displays. We spend at least an hour to an hour and a half here and enjoyed every minute of it. If you are in Santa Fe looking for art, come here.

Excellent gallery and it's free to the public

By George C |

Went there on the recommendation of fellow TA members. They were right. This place should not be missed. This is a working gallery with stuff for sale and the stuff they have is outstanding. Be it paintings or sculpture, the quality and variety are hard to beat. After having spent $24 to get into the Georgia O'Keefe museum - only to find that 40 of her paintings were on loan to another museum - this place was frankly better. Not often one finds two Andrew Wyeth's just hanging on a wall close enough to touch. Add to that a garden where one can find a large selection of bronze sculptures and this made for a great experience. If in Santa Fe, do yourself a favor and visit.

Splendid Day at The Gallery

Gorgeous gallery. Wonderful selection of art and the design of the building and outdoor garden is inviting and full of good vibes.

The gardens and the galleries are beautiful! So peaceful, and yet so extravagant! The art work is unbelievable! Not only does this gallery carry the most up to date artists of today, it also have priceless pieces of historic artwork. The staff is terrific about letting people look and to chat about the artwork. Just a lovely place!

We found this gallery at the end of a long day, and I'm so glad we found time to tour it. The outside gardens and sculptures are beautiful and serene.

The gallery of galleries

Just off of the Canyon Road, this gallery is really a museum of some of the finest artist in the Western US. If you are coming to Santa Fe for art, don't miss Nedra Matteucci Galleries.

Beautify sculpture garden in the back. A hidden gem....must see. You'll spend hours there. Friendly staff.

Lovely Sculptures

By Debbie R |

This is a treasure. The gardens are charming by themselves, let alone all of the wonderful sculptures that are everywhere. A stream and waterfall run through the gardens. It is a relaxing adventure to walk through them.

Exquisite and delightful

By Kaley |

My husband and I were so charmed by this lovely place. Plenty of indoor treats to view, but the garden is unbelievably beautiful. Endless surprises. Pop over to Kakawa Chocolate House across the street for a fun snack.

Amazing art display

By David S |

We stopped here on the advice of an acquaintance not quite knowing what to expect. This is a private gallery with works of art for sale, ranging from the low thousands to multi-hundred thousands of dollars. The place is laid out like an old Santa Fe style house, with little nooks and corridors. It was quite an experience to stick my head in what appeared to be a large closet and find a seven foot tall landscape that had me saying "Wow!" Outside there is a sculpture garden and koi pond which has to be seen, as well. We found the staff to be very helpful and informative, even though it was clear that what they were selling was way beyond my paygrade.
As added bonuses, 1) admission is free; 2) there is a (small) free parking lot; and 3) they have no problem with photography.

Best garden in Santa Fe

By S H |

Third visit to this beautiful gallery with garden. Even if you are not into art, just go for the garden out the back. Beautiful collection of work of all kinds, take special note of the doors throughout this amazing building, built around the trees.

Unexpected gem

By Jillian G |

World class, except this place is probably unique. Like a world class museum of art but better. The gardens are a must see, every inch has been curated, every inch is exquisite. The building is so full of character, look at all the doors, each one is amazing. Pleasant welcoming staff. Take your own water, no cafe.

One of our top galleies with the best atmosphere of all

By Steve t |

Sometimes it's the setting/location that makes a place and Nedra has it in spades. The historical buildings, classic interior rooms, vault, and art would make this a must stop but add in the garden area and that makes this a very special place.
Every staff member would answer questions that I'm sure they are asked dozens of times per day.
It's educational along with great art viewing.

Always worth visiting!

By William H |

This is a top quality consignment art gallery with a welcoming attitude and approachable staff. A special feature is the sculpture garden.

Beautiful gardens

By Bibax4 |

We had small children with us, who were well behaved. They loved the beautiful gardens, koi pond and statuary. Their presence was appreciated by the nice young male staff member; not so much by his female coworker. Needless to say, we sought him out after deciding to make a purchase!

outstanding gallery

By foodfreakSMA |

Santa Fe has lots of galleries, most of them sell mediocre art, but the Nedra Matteucci Gallery is where you need to go if you are serious about seeing and buying outstanding art. Very helpful sales staff.

Definitely visit!

By m67michelle |

Museum like gallery with so many beautiful, interesting, and unique items. The owner showed us around providing us with the history of many pieces and information about the local artists. Don't miss the outside gardens and art displays!

Nedra Matteucci Galleries

By susan s |

This gallery has a vast selection of western and south western paintings. Along with Indian artifacts and jewelry. It's a very interesting collection. What I love about it most is the back sculpture garden...beautiful. It has a large, large pond that you can walk around with gorgeous sculptures and vegetation. It's a beautiful place to just relax and enjoy. When friends are visiting Santa Fe, it's a place I always take them.

Definitely worth seeing

By memueller22017 |

We loved the gallery and felt like we were at an important art museum. famous art works were actually for sale! We couldn’t believe wandering into this garden complete with sculptures, fountains, ponds and waterfalls. You could easily spend hours there just relaxing on a bench and watching the birds and water fowl take advantage of this oasis in the city. Loved every moment we spent there and learned about some amazing artists too! don’t miss this!

Like Being in a Museum

By Cupcake |

Fabulous art and the garden is amazing. Art works from masters and local artists with the most expensive prices I have ever seen, but free to look. Knowledgeable people and a must visit location.

Amazing gallery

By Expressionistic |

This is the best place in Santa Fe. Beautiful collection of art : paintings, sculptures , jewelry. Adorable park with sculptures outside. Very knowledgeable staff. During my trip I visited this gallery twice. Very highly recommended.

Our favorite gallery & garden in Santa Fe!

By Manningjen |

Rambling rooms full of treasures. The luxuriant walled sculpture garden is a wonderful place to let kids run off some steam--there are even ducks in the pond!

Beautiful sculpture garden

By RubyWanderlust |

The art collection here is very impressive, focusing on the traditional but featuring a few excellent modern pieces. If you're looking for a quiet moment away from the crowds, the sculpture garden is a perfect choice. The large pond and small path create a very calming, meditative atmosphere.

A Feast For the Art Lover

By Martin G |

My wife and I visited this gallery many years ago. We noted the price level of the first few pieces that we encountered and quickly left feeling that we did not belong there. That was a big mistake. On this trip we visited the gallery again. This time we visited as if we were at a museum and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. There are still works of art that are extremely high priced, but one can wander around and just enjoy what is on display. Sculpture, paintings, jewelry, native American art is all on exhibit. There is also a beautifully landscaped sculpture garden outside the gallery that should not be missed. There is a section of rather reasonably priced Indian artwork available for purchase. One of the nicest things about this gallery is that there is no pressure from the staff. They are used to visitors and do not make you feel unwelcome. Don't miss visiting Nadra Matteucci Galleries while visiting Santa Fe

Museum like

By Expedition55739 |

Fine old gallery with wonderful garden in the rear full of sculpture and ducks on the lake. The place was previously the Fenn Gallery and has many works from the old Taos School artists for sale.

Great gallery in a beautiful building.

By Tom V |

This was my second visit to this gallery. It alone is worth the trip to Santa Fe. The art work is varied and of high quality; to include paintings, sculptures, prints, and drawings. The featured work is by some of the founders of the art scene in northern New Mexico, founders of Cowboy Artists of America, well established contemporary artists, and artists on the rise. The building is so flowing and organic in nature, warm and inviting, and the sculpture garden is a must. Everyone of the staff that I encountered was gracious and informative. I and my girlfriend spent a couple of hours here on our most recent visit. We'll be back again.

Sights of Santa Fe

The most incredible and beautiful artwork on planet Earth. Large collection of Goodacre works which must be seen to be believed.

A peaceful sanctuary

By napavalleydiner |

This art gallery is filled with a variety of beautiful art. The sculpture was impressive, but way out of my budget. Nevertheless, it was worth seeing, especially since the historic building is so interesting and the gardens are gorgeous.

beautiful things

By Riveroak |

This is large gallery with a wide variety of lovely items from paintings to jewelry to scuplture. A treasure house. Staff very knowledgeable and personable.

Beautiful pieces historical and recent...worth a look.

By lovetotravel1959 |

Great place to spend at minimum and hour...the staff was wonderful and answered all our questions regardless of if you are buying or not....and some of the historical pieces were in the six figures! They are proud to show what they have.

Great garden for all ages.

By Les L |

Stopping by here is worth the visit. Ask to see their garden. Very serene. And suitable for all ages.

Fantastic

By qwerty103 |

For art lovers this place is fantastic. I refer to it as a disneyland for art geeks. They have a wealth of paintings and sculptures by many famous people including John Singer Sargent and Georgia Okeeffe and Glenna Goodacre. The price tags of some of the artworks go above 6 figures (greater than a million dollars), yet the painting are discretely hanging on the walls in gallery rooms and offices throughout this facility. the sculpture garden blew me away, What a paradise of beautiful trees, lawn, bridges and a large pond complete with several waterfalls. Playing in the water were many sculptures. Several times i just sat on a bench facing the water and reflected on all the beauty here. Wouldn't it be great to have a backyard like this?

Amazing

By Mary E |

Beautiful gallery plus outside gardens are a pleasant surprise with sculptures throughout. Worth the time. Empty when I was there.

One of the greats for classic Taos masters and southwestern art

By visit-often-to-NM |

We have visited the Gallery since Forrest Fenn opened it and always a pleasure to visit still. Very helpful staff and willing to find or show anything that is not out on display. About the only place to find a large collection of J. H. Sharp or E.I. Couse paintings along with the rest of the Taos society of Artists. Beautiful building and grounds are immaculate.

Favorite Gallery in Santa Fe

By Citygirl1961 |

I had read that this was a must see gallery, but it wasn't right on Canyon Road, so we missed it the first day we visited galleries. On our last day, we had some time to spare, so we walked over. It's actually just off Canyon Road. What a lovely experience. There are so many rooms, it's almost like visiting a museum. The workers were very welcoming. We weren't there to buy anything, but they were still helpful and kind. The highlight of the gallery was the beautiful sculpture garden in the back, with a large pond and ducks. It had just snowed and it was gorgeous.

Another MUST visit....

By James Weaver |

I usually try to make this our first stop, even before checking into the hotel. Just leave all the luggage in the trunk and go in to see all their astonishing collection for sale. Most of course is past my level of pain in purchase price point. It like going into a very fine museum whose exhibition has just changed. Seeing all new works for the very first time. The bonus is the garden, a shady expanse of green, manicured lawn, trees and sculpture. It is just a delightful walk around the pond and looking to see who is in it. Koy fish, turtles, and a few beautiful ducks. Always look forward to coming here.

This is the first stop of every trip to Santa Fe

By James Weaver |

The art for sale is wondrous, beautiful and on the expensive side. We once bumped into Diane Keaton, looking as well. It really is like going to a museum, the quality is of that caliber. The staff let's you wander about, will answer any questions you might have and take a piece down for a closer examination. Do not forget to go outside into the very lovely garden with its.
small pond and many sculptures. We stay an or or longer.

Private gallery but we were glad we stopped in here

By Kay M |

My husband feels awkward going into galleries where we don't intend to buy anything, but we weren't sure that's what this gallery was. It was a treasure trove of paintings and sculpture by the most famous of the Taos and Santa Fe artists of the past. The curator or whomever he was was very happy to talk to us, and we learned a lot fom him. The art in here is wonderful, but the prices were extremely high.

went to the opening of a retrospective of the career of walt gonske

No trip is complete to Santa Fe without a trip to Nedra Matteucci Galleries! It is a treat for the eyes to see the wonderful art collections! In addition, the garden on the property is a serene oasis of water areas, huge sculptures, and beautiful plant life!

Beautiful gallery in a beautiful setting

By oobleckclyde |

Many stunning works here, yet not outrageously priced. I loved the building and the sculpture garden.

great sculpture garden

By fcmk |

the sculpture garden was a pleasant surprise--so large for where it is in santa fe, but so serene and the art was spectacular

Stunning Art; Beautiful Sculpture Garden

By Rumples |

I visit Santa Fe every summer and each time I make it a point to go to the Nedra Matteucci Galleries, which specializes in 19th and 20th-century American art. The large beautiful adobe building has many rooms with museum-quality paintings on display, some holding six-figure price tags. Recognizable names, such as Georgia O'Keefe and Andrew Wyeth, are just two of the artists.

The stunning rear sculpture garden covers an acre and features a pond, beautiful landscaping and shady paths. Works by two of my favorite sculptors appear there -- Don Ostermiller and Glenna Goodacre. Ostermiller specializes in animals, and his life-size bears in the garden are especially appealing. Goodacre designed the Vietnam Women's Memorial in Washington, D.C., one of my favorite public art works. The garden shows off some of her figurative sculptures, all lovely creations.

Smaller, more affordable (but still pricey) pieces by Goodacre, Ostermiller and others are inside. High-quality jewelry and Native American artifacts are also for sale.

Nedra Matteucci Galleries welcomes visitors and there is no charge to explore the garden. Throughout the years, I have encountered a couple of haughty employees, but I would describe the staff, in general, to be pleasant and helpful.

Hours are Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with limited parking by the entrance. Attractions nearby include Kakawa Chocolate House and the New Mexico State Capitol Building across the street. Canyon Road with its myriad art galleries starts one block away.

Always great art on display!

By jbjhugger |

I always make an effort to stop in and look at the art. Always a great selection of art on display. It's almost like going to a museum.

Exceptional Gallery

By Elizabeth R |

This gallery is top notch, a great place to see truly fine paintings, sculptures, Native American workmanship. There is a beautiful garden behind the gallery that is filled with lovely sculptures and well landscaped that is so pleasant for a stroll.

What an experience!

By Toni S |

I have been visiting this gallery since my mother first took me as a girl. Even under the current owner (Nedra Mateucci bought from Forest Fenn) the collection is eclectic and always interesting. The building is fantastic. Not only is the art wonderful, including several of the Taos painters, and other American icons such as Eric Sloan, the furnishings, historical Native American pottery and jewelry, and sculpture is great to see all under 1 roof. Oh yeah, the sculpture garden is a slice of heaven on earth and not to be missed! It is one of my favorite places to see in Santa Fe.

Don't miss the garden sculptures

By Gowan |

the galleries was setting up a show so was a bit disorganized. A fun stop every time we visit Santa Fe.

Gorgeous Garden!

By Jane N |

This small gallery gets an excellent for the quality and diversity of its art offerings, but most especially for its beautiful sculpture garden. I could never afford any of the art offered but the opportunity to view it is wonderful. And the garden is absolutely stunning. Be sure to visit this gallery when you visit Santa Fe!

as much a museum as an art gallery

this fabulous institution has the best and most varied selection of southwestern art and artifacts in Santa Fe. the staff is helpful and informative and does not hover, so one can explore at leisure and never feel pressured. the sculpture garden is a must.

Fantastic Art

By Madeline D |

Definitely take the time to visit Nedra's galleries filled withe some of the most fantastic works of art. The staff are outstanding, too! Always ready to help you understand -- a different perspective.

Matteucci Gallery, not to be missed

By wanderlust055 |

Unable to visit every Canyon Rd gallery due to time & $$$, this gallery is not to be missed for art lovers. Heard about it from Trip Advisor reviews. In the front courtyard is a wonderful garden with sculptures, a refuge from the heat. I toured the gallery and went into the back "yard" There was an enormous pond where a larger than life elephant spouted out water. All around the grounds were incredible native american sculpture and comical animals, especially the bears and rabbits. Staff are wonderful & there is no need to buy. Wonderful photographic site

Glenna Goodacre's bronzes are a must-see!

By texan972 |

Greatly enjoyed revisiting the gallery and sculpture park. Our favorite bronzes were by Goodacre and Ostermiller. This gallery should be your #1 stop in the Canyon Rd area.

Best museum in Santa Fe, and it’s really not a museum but an art gallery.

By Rob R |

Simply the best museum and art gallery in Santa Fe. Multiple rooms with outstanding art, and a wonderful sculpture garden. Southwestern art that’s much better than the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. And pleasant, interesting staff.

Sophisticated, quintessential Santa Fe gallery

By Cathe P |

There are over 200 galleries in Santa Fe. If you are only in this town for a few days, please see this gallery. Although it has the 'best of the iconic Southwest' collection (I call it a museum with price tags), the staff is not only knowledgable, but friendly, open and inviting. I will take clients who are in town to buy art as well as my grandchildren and guests. Sometimes I just go to walk around the back sculpture garden. It is sublime.

Very interesting place

By WLRedinger |

I'm not much on Museums and galleries but my wife wanted to go as we were spending night in Santa Fe. It was a very pleasant surprise. Interesting statutes in garden. Sculptures were quite unique.

Beautiful Sculpture Garden - Better than some Museums

By Glidr |

Not far from the Plaza downtown we found this lovely gallery on Paseo de Peralta. We expected a nice art collection for sale. What we didn't expect was the beautiful relaxing sculpture garden and trees! A must see when downtown.

Beautiful Gardens and Art

By Virginiaphd |

Do not miss the Nedra Matteucci Galleries. This is a superb gallery with incredible art, and the gardens are incredibly beautiful. Then walk across the street for a designer hot chocolate!

Amazing Sculpture Garden!

By BojanglesAustin |

Wonderful array of art throughout the gallery, but the (outdoor) sculpture garden is incredible. The staff here are extremely knowledgeable and very accommodating. A definite must see!

Amazing and Enchanting

By LindaK |

We visited Nedra Matteucci Galleries based on good TripAdvisor reviews and had the best experience of our time in Santa Fe there. The rambling adobe house is beautifully decorated with art, sculpture and some jewelry. But the real treat is the peaceful garden and whimsical sculptures in the back, including water features and more. We came in May when the lilacs and golden chain trees were in bloom, absolutely magical. The staff is very friendly and warm too. Just go!

gorgeous garden

The Premier Gallery in Santa Fe... Hands Down

By Stoddard C |

I am not an artsy person, but I was overwhelmed with how cool this gallery is both inside and out. If you only have time for one in Santa Fe, this is it. Make sure you take in the architecture and back yard!

Just great

By Opera_lover2013 |

Most fantastic eclectic art collection in a city of fantastic art galleries. Sculpture, painting, drawing and objects combine to make an exceptional experience.

Not your average gallery - DO NOT MISS!

By Cpscpscps |

Our Uber driver suggested this gallery. WOW!! Not to be missed. The property houses originals from masters that you can go right up to and enjoy. Think of this place like a museum because it is just that. Of course, you can buy art as well...if you can afford it. But enjoying it is easy!!

Worth the trip to find it

By nancy10684 |

A bit off the usual route around Sante Fe but not far at all. A delight especially with the sculpture garden inside. Great for early risers to visit as it opens earlier than the usual 10am. Very near the Captial builiding which is also open early, I think 8am.

Beautiful

By Jeanine W |

This gallery is gorgeous and the sculpture garden is to die for. Moreover the staff are friendly and informative and were more than happy to tell us about various artists and Native American traditions even though my guess is they assessed we were unlikely buyers early on.

Gallery Hopping

By teds759 |

We always enjoy a few hours at Nedra Matteucci's gallery on Paseo de Peralta. We particularly enjoy the courtyard with the sculpture garden.

Better Than a Museum

By lisabinnyc |

As a bit of an art snob I hesitate at going into local art galleries. A friend in the area recommended we visit Nedra and I'm so glad we did. Warm staff and an incredible collection installed into a beautiful home setting complete with lovely gardens. We were impressed.

Always stop in, when we're in Santa Fe.

By Frank W |

An excellent collection of noted New Mexico artists, as well as crafts and other artists. Don't miss the hallways!

What you should know...

By tigerlilykelly |

We love this gallery. We had the good fortune to be there almost alone this day! The outdoor gallery is spectacular and worth a visit not matter what time of year. This is limited parking, so getting there at open or right before close is good. The employees are helpful, knowledgable and friendly. This is southwestern art in terms of subject but lot's of different mediums. The property itself is amazing!! Will go back again and again.

Probably th best gallery in Santa Fe!

By hankmail505 |

Not only a great collection of Southwestern are but also an incredible building with real character and a garden that is worth seeing!

A beautiful place

By Ken K |

Our favorite gallery. The ambiance, the sculpture garden, every where you look, and you should look everywhere from the entry patio through every room and corner of the building, there is something beautiful to see. Some are things you don't expect such as the hand made doors on every room and the rose wood desk in the first room. The art will satisfy many different tastes except, perhaps, the most abstract contemporary. Be prepared to take your time. Ask questions of the knowledgable staff. They know about bout the art and artist. This is the gallery to which we always take our out-of-town visitors. After seeing the gallery they make comments like, "You said it was a gallery, but we have never seen a gallery like this!"

The outdoor sculpture garden

By IowaBell |

The inside of this place is all expensive art and antique jewelry. Very friendly staff. We went out old antique doors to the garden. We were lucky to have visited on a beautiful fall day. The small pond is surrounded by giant and lifesize bronze statues. Lots of photo opportunities. Worth the stop!

Beautiful Outdoor Area

By AllergieswithAmanda |

We were here for a private event, and had a wonderful time exploring the galleries and the outdoor area. The garden is beautiful with a pond and sculptures all around the site. The inside is filled with a variety of beautiful artwork and jewelry.

OUTSTANDING

Such an authentic gallery with major works. The back yard area is so peaceful and filled with exquisite statues everywhere. My favorite gallery in Santa Fe by far.

One of a Kind

By Lana T |

Go see this classy elegant gallery! Better in the warmer months to enjoy the sculpture gardens. The art is incredible in a fabulous atmosphere.

Love the sculpture Garden

By Avie S |

The art is wonderful throughout but the sculpture garden is spectacular with coy pond, great stone and bronze work, and shady trees.

beautiful sculpture garden

By LisaMNUSA |

We only visited the sculpture garden in the backyard. There is a small water fall and pond, three ducks were there. Beautiful sculptures and flowers!

garden is peace of heaven

By Zuya Z |

Dropped in to this gallery based on others' reviews. It does not disappoint. Staff is super nice. And this place is family friendly. Kids spent lots of time in the garden marvel at the sculptures while we admire the art works inside.

Amazing gallery and outdoor garden!

By dmchoffman |

An absolutely amazing gallery space. Very friendly welcoming staff (even for an unlikely buyer like me). Gorgeous 2D and 3D pieces. Many by famous artists of this area.

One of Santa Fe's very best

By Kate C |

Nedra's Gallery is spectacular with such a diversity of art and styles.
The pond and gardens is lush and lovely hidden behind adobe walls.
Even if you're not looking to purchase it is a must see just for all its beauty.

garden paradise: find this gallery!!

By MamaG3 |

I LOVED walking in their outdoor garden with the most amazing bronze sculptures everywhere! The art in the gallery was out of most people's price range, but I was enchanted by the gallery structure, it's content, and of course the enchanted garden. Go find the place!!!

Take the kids and pose with every statue

By lukejames52 |

I won't say this is the one and only gallery you should visit, but it is great for the kids. Plenty for them to touch, and with a spacious 'backyard' filled with statues, water and walking areas, the kids can get their 'energy out' and give you time to view the art. Great owners as well - knowledgeable and friendly.

Phenomenal Gallery in the center of Sante Fe!

By SouthwestMagpie |

What a phenomenal gallery! We spent a couple of hours wandering about the gallery and then the beautiful gardens out back on our own. We were also lucky enough to meet the owner of the gallery and she kindly gave us a quick tour pointing put many of the highlights. We will definitely return to purchase a small piece or two.

There is a wonderful chocolate shop across the street - which you should also visit.

A Destination Gallery

By bertocolliemom |

This is not your average Santa Fe art gallery. The building and garden are worth a visit on their own. This place offers a broad selection of paintings and objects that are all top-quality, at a variety of price points.

Major Art Gallery

By paula s |

Location at base of Canyon Road. High end art. Beautiful collection representing many artists of the Southwest

Excellent art gallery with exceptional pieces

By TJmom |

This was the best art gallery we visited in Santa Fe. The art showcased is absolutely fantastic and one of a kind. The people were very knowledgeable and passionate about art and explained the pieces well.
We were also allowed to photograph the art pieces which was not allowed in less amazing art galleries like Longworth.
A must visit on your trip to Santa Fe!!

If you only have time for one gallery in Santa Fe, make it this one

By HMac_2013 |

The Nedra Matteucci Galleries and sculpture garden are just spectacular. Museum quality art, friendly helpful staff (zero sales pressure - if you’re buying the art can almost sell itself), lots of outstanding classic local (Santa Fe and Taos) artists. And though much of the Art will be out of the financial reach of most of us, the prices appear to me (and a couple of friends who are art professionals) to be appropriate. Plan to spend an hour or more to wander through all of the gallery rooms as well as the wonderful outdoor sculpture garden.

Always the best

By MontanaWinddancer |

The collection is always the best in western art. The stable of artists are well-known in their genre and are so beautifully displayed. An outstanding gallery.

worth a visit

By rbaustin3d |

beautiful gardens. laid out like a museum. very friendly and not pushy. very expensive western art and sculpture

Well worth the time. What a collection!

By Hal-ThePlanner |

This place is amazing! The collection of art goes on forever. The bronze work is phenomenal. While this is a gallery with items for sale, the staff is very nice about folks just coming in to view everything. Even if you aren't into art per se, this place is worth the visit.

As good as a museum; beautiful statue garden.

By evergreen66 |

Our family visited on the recommendation of the trolley tour guide.

This gallery sprawls through a large, old, adobe building. The curators graciously put ramps between the uneven rooms for my dad, who was in a wheelchair. Even though we made it clear that we were not in the market to spend hundreds, much less thousands (up to $950,000 for one painting) on art that day, and were just looking, we felt very welcome and everyone we encountered was very happy to answer questions for us and tell us about art. My kids loved the gallery and spent some time sketching things they saw throughout the indoor gallery and outdoor garden.

I'd recommend it for anyone who enjoys looking at art, including kids, though if your kids are rambunctious you might feel a bit nervous!

Beautiful building filled with very expensive and not great quality art.

By marsha b |

For a private gallery, this place is vast and has a huge sculpture garden in back. Of all the work there, the one piece I liked was a small Georgia O'Keefe priced in the hundreds of thousands of dollars (not my price range!).
I'm not sure who their clientele is, but this is not affordable art. Nor is it museum quality with the exception of the O'Keefe piece. Most of the work is very commercial and geared towards the mass market.

My favorite gallery in the US.

By Mac M |

If you love SW art, this is the place. There are museum quality and scale painting for sale by renowned artists. If you only get to one (of the many, many) gallery in Santa Fe, don't miss this one

Well-curated with a wide selection

By John La Farge |

The art in Matteucci Gallery is a wide selection of art and Indian jewelry chosen with a knowledgeable eye and in good taste.

Gorgeous gallery and sculpture grounds

By J R R |

Very special, one of a kind gallery with many artistic selections from famous artists all over the world. Knowledgeable sales associates. A must visit. One of the very best in Santa Fe.

Beautiful experience

By Traveler46428716303 |

Nedra Matteucci’s s gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico was absolutely outstanding. My husband and I visited from Albuquerque. We used to live in Santa Fe, but never made it to the gallery. We were absolutely overwhelmed by the beauty starting at the front door. The building itself is a work of art. Each room has fantastic, art and sculptures by so many different artists. The reason we went is because they had a special exhibit by Glenna Goodacre, a sculptor. They had a full room of her smaller sculptures, another room, full of tiny sculptures, and a full outdoor gallery of larger sculptures, including some of hers. The grounds were so beautiful with green grass, huge trees , a small pond, a waterfall fed by a large elephant sculpture, filling the pond from his trunk. Watch out because there’s bears all over the place, but they don’t bite because they are also sculptures . If you don’t go to Nedra Matteucci’s gallery in Santa Fe, you have missed one of the best things there is in Santa Fe.

One of Santa Fe's finest

By Mike M |

Be sure to see this magnificent gallery when in Santa Fe. You will enjoy it so much. Elegant in every way.

Best gallery in Santa Fe

By Holmanphotoonthego |

Should be a museum. Incredibly curated place. You will see more here than most large museums have. And the garden is an extra treat.

Drop in - see the sculpture garden.

By Ken H |

Terrific art and top shelf architecture. Be sure to go out the sculpture garden back yard. You'll find it hard to believe the place is so big.

Beautiful art, high prices, nice space

By PhilosophicalOldGuy |

My wife and I stopped in this gallery as our first gallery visit in Santa Fe as we walked from our hotel to the Canyon Road district to gallery hop. The art here was fabulous and the staff person was friendly and unintrusive, allowing us to walk about and look. This is a very nice gallery and we saw a number of things we dearly wished we could afford. But having enough to buy what one sees is not the only reason to gallery hop, and we enjoyed the chance to see talented artists' work in a beautiful display space.

Beautiful

By Susan P |

Beautiful display of art. A must see is the garden area with its bronze sculptures. So beautiful and peaceful.

best of the New Mexico famous and should be famous Artists

By Dale Z |

Dustin is so very polite and gracious even though we would not be dropping 20 k on a painting then or in the near future Very knowledgeable young man.

LARGE ADOBE HOME Turned FINE ART GALLERY

By jeffreyshapiro |

This is a MUST goto place if you like the Adobe homes and very fine art large and small. This home on it's own is a work of art. Each room, nook and cranny has a personality of it's own. The floors, walls, fire places are amazing creative spaces. Fine, Fine art hang on the walls leave against the walls, stand on pedestals, and small works in silver and Turquoise and other natural stones are displayed in glass cases. The outside sculpture garden is AMAZING, literally larger than life in several places. I'm sure the time year makes a difference how and what you may see with the trees naked or in full blooms and leaves. Treat yourselves to this Gallery if you have a limited amount of time, you will be happy you did.

Art, architecture, and garden

By SantaFean-7 |

As locals, we usually don't stop here unless we have guests (work eats up too many hours in the week!), but it never fails to charm. The art is the raison d'etre, but the historic building (like many along Canyon Road) is a work of art in itself. Then there's the charming courtyard garden that is a little oasis. Worth a stop if you are doing the gallery tour.

Wonderful Art and Beautiful Garden

By Tom D |

Even though we went to this gallery because of the garden, we also were very impressed with the quality of their artwork. Their many items included art from some very famous artists and they even had a Georgia O"Keeffe painting. But for us the Garden was what made our visit some enjoyable. Many sculptures were scattered around the central pond and you really felt that you were in a idyllic setting in the countryside. Our hour there was a joy.

Is this really Santa Fe?

By Karol R |

The inside gallery is lovely, however, I'm here to speak about the gallery out the back door. The minute you walk outside you can't quite believe you're in Santa Fe. The green grass and the luxurious, huge pond rather transport you to another place. The sculptures are in abundance and by many well known artist. Some play a dance with the large pool emptying in as if they were always there. No matter the season it's magical and not to be missed while in Santa Fe. I live here and go as often as I can just to breath in the beauty of art and nature holding hands.

The best gallery in town

By livewire64 |

Has a fine collection and a beautiful, serene garden filled with statuary, ponds fountains and ducks!

Art work for sale and great grounds

By markandcoleen |

An expansive gallery with a huge variety of furniture, paintings, sculpture, weaving, on and on. The outside are has water flowing and is a perfect location for an event. Not for the budget minded.

Another Santa Fe surprise!

By Brian B |

My sister-in-law suggested we stop here to visit, I was a bit hesitant as entered looking at the price tags of the art I was concerned our children, 5, 6 & 10 would touch something and break it! But in the end our children behaved and the employees were relaxed - one employee took a photo of a picture our niece enjoyed and made it into a postcard! Then we entered into the back garden and found a wonderland for our children to explore with many great statues! Overall a place I would recommend everyone of all ages to stop and enjoy!

Linger here

By PSR-tx |

First rate art, sculpture, jewelry and gorgeous gardens. Take your time to indulge in the beauty of the arts.

One of the best galleries for visitors, even those less artistically-inclined.

By Aaron P |

This is a great art gallery just off of Canyon Rd in Santa Fe. The best things about it are the lack of pretension, friendliness of staff, and the size of the place. The gallery used to be a home, and it is truly labyrinthine. Staff are situated around the building to answer questions but are content to let families wander through the Adobe interior. Outside in a large courtyard is the reward for those who aren't dying to observe fine art: a large fish pond with several species of duck and turtles. This gallery is a little artistic sanctuary in Santa Fe, a mile from the Plaza.

A Hidden Treasure

By mlp48 |

Wonderful find old western master, jewelers, and and current artists. Both paintings and sculpture adorn each room. The serene and beautiful outdoor flower/ sculpture garden is a must.

Incredible Art

By SnakeRiver LB |

Visiting this gallery is like visiting a museum, except there is no charge. The staff is very willing to explain why one painting is more expensive than another. I always leave with more knowledge about art. Take time to visit the garden.

Don't miss this one

By Pat R |

This is one of the best gallery experiences we have had. Really special pieces in a special setting. It's free and they have on site parking. Make sure to go into the garden. The staff is very friendly and informative. This gallery is an experience and worth the stop. We did it in the morning and had tremendous photo ops.

Glorious Art

By Fred T |

If you only visit one gallery when you're in Santa Fe this should be it. Formerly the gallery and home of a Santa Fe icon - Forrest Fenn (now famous for his "treasure hunt" - Google it - quite a story), Mr. Fenn constructed a stunning compound to house truly stunning art including rare and very expensive (think six figures) works by many of the Taos colony. The sculpture garden has been in Architectural Digest if that tells you anything. I was worried when Mr. Fenn sold to Nedra Matteucci but she has done a wonderful in preserving and continuing this Santa Fe treasure. You probably, if you're like me, won't be buying and artwork although some of her American Indian art is not totally out of reach but the knowledgable staff won't make you feel like a total rube. Relax and enjoy a really one of a kind treat.

Wonderful Gallery

By Bruce R |

Agree with other reviewers that touring this gallery is wonderful. We found the inside just as interesting as the garden. Now, if only we were in that price league to buy something here...sigh.

An oasis of art and beauty in lovely setting

By Gypsiescollect |

This is a beautiful spot, an old New Mexican house filled with art, out into the sculpture garden, it feels like the glory days of Santa Fe! There is a great collection of current artists, an impressive collection of older work and a nice selection of jewelry. My favorite time to visit is in the fall when the leaves are golden, but the art is inspiring all of the time!

Well worth the visit!

By Elliot J |

If you don't have time to visit one of the great museums of the world, then check out this gallery for some world-class art!

Best Gallery

By haciendado |

A very classic gallery, with art of all kinds (not just contemporary). But especially the wonderful sculpture garden -- the interior courtyard. Water, plantings, and bronzes.

Quiet gardens but nowhere to sit.

By Maria M |

This is a free gallery and it has some interesting items. The gardens are nice but they must not want you to stay a while because there are no benches to sit and enjoy the gardens. So you quickly walk around and then go back inside the gallery. Benches please!!

The art was interesting and very expensive. A bit pretentious. I think we did the entire visit in about 30 minutes.

The gardens would be more enjoyable in the summer but in 20 degrees, not so much.

Beautiful art

By greconj |

Very nice gallery filled with very expensive and extensive works of art. Friendly staff who are happy to answer questions. Much larger than it appears.

Absolutely a must see in Santa Fe

By KTRK_Dave |

Not only the main gallery but also the second gallery on Canyon Road. These galleries contain some of the finest superlative art, jewelry and indian artifacts anywhere in the world.

Make sure you tour the sculpture garden

By Colleen R |

Lovely gallery, the building itself is very artistic and the sculpture garden a delightful shaded place with amazing work scattered throughout

Nice place

By AlexanderKorablev |

Takes 20 mins to see pictures and garden. Its a gallery so admission is free. Pictures and sculptures are for sale. But prices are skyhigh. Small parking.

Quite a engaging gallery

By Gretchen D |

This gallery has a beautiful outdoor area with wonderful sculpture. There is a wide variety of offerings from jewelry and paintings to sculpture. Even if you can't take it home in your suitcase, this gallery is worth a visit to appreciate the holdings.

Breathtaking

By Csdad_13 |

Unbelievably beautiful art gallery and sculpture garden. Even the antique adobe it is housed in is breathtaking. Everyone was friendly and happy to answer questions whether you are a serious collector, or just wandering through. Ms. Matteucci has created something truly special here. Don't miss it!

Beautiful gallery!

By LoveChickens1959 |

An amazing gallery full of incredible art. It took about 2 hrs to go through. The staff was super nice. One of them told us a story of one of their local artists who lost his eyesight during the Vietnam War. The story was incredible and his artwork inspiring. Just as great as going to a museum without having an entrance fee.

Highly Recommended

By Paul_inSunPrairie |

Amazing bronze castings - we couldn't get over the size of some of the works. Beautiful 2-D work throughout the galleries. The gardens were a wonderful, green escape. Make sure you pay attention to the doors as you walk through the galleries - really cool and an artistic treasure in themselves; one that might be ignored looking at all of the lovely art.

Oasis in the heart of Santa Fe

By Kittygoth |

This was a pretty amazing gallery overall, but the sculpture garden is simply stunning - a little oasis of green with a lovely koi pond and beautiful scultures peppered throughout. Definitely worth a visit!

LOVE

By Vici S |

Amazing, fantastic,a must see experience!
I have only been twice, but both times felt like a magical experience. The greeters/ curators are very welcoming and helpful, but allow you space to enjoy the beautiful sculptures and art.Every time I think of my visit I can feel like I am there. It makes me smile...can't say enough !

Jaw-dropping

By JoAnne H |

I thought, "How does a gallery get #2 on the list of so many attractions in Santa Fe"? There is a reason, of course. It is worth it. Right near our hotel, we had just an hour or so to visit before we had to leave for our flight. The paintings and other art work are stunning. I thought, "This was the most exciting museums I had ever been in." In fact, the paintings are so spectacular, most museums could not afford this art work, or at least would have to be very selective. It must be where very wealthy Santa Fe residents trade or sell their art. Many, many paintings in the $50K to $100K and a Georgia O'Keefe closer to 1 million. Not that this is necessarily a measure of worth, but it really is an amazing collection of the best of the best Western art. The staff treated us very kindly, even though, I am sure they realized we would not be buying a $100K painting. The garden is gorgeous with numerous sculptures. The temporary exhibit with an artist named Alice Schille blew me away. We just scratched the surface. A huge thumbs up. We will return.

Best Santa Fe Gallery

By Cynthia I |

Nedra Matteucci Galleries ranks well above the many galleries to choose from in Santa Fe. The works shown there are museum quality and it's always wonderful to see artworks this exceptional.

Don't miss the sculpture garden

By trekkerplanner |

One of the best galleries I've visited. The gardens are beautifully landscaped and the sculptures are magnificent! I could spend all day in this magical place. The staff is excellent and most helpful without being pretentious. Beautiful piece throughout. Not to be missed.

Beautiful Inside and Outside!

By Joyce B |

Beautiful garden and sculptures...wish I could do something similar in my own backyard!! The exhibits inside were equally fascinating!

Hidden Sculpure Garden is a Gem

By Karla F |

A local told me about the gardens at this gallery a few blocks from Canyon Road and I am so happy I made time to see it.

I was there in the early spring and had the peaceful gardens to myself. The pond and small features were relaxing. I especially liked the life-like sculpture.

See it while you can...It's better than most meseums

By hharris860 |

To say this is a classic in Santa Fe is an understatement. The gallery has been there almost forever and has a collection of "old white guys" and contemporary artists that will knock your socks off. Don't miss it. You probably heard a lot about the galleries on Canyon road this is near and if you only had one gallery to see in Santa Fe this is the one. You may wonder why I said "see it while you can". That's because it is up for sale, it has been for a few years, and one day someone will buy it and who knows what might happen. Again, I say don't miss it. The sculpture garden is delightful, the art is great and don't be afraid of the personnel, They are all wonderful people who will make you feel at home.

Beautiful art, inside and out, with friendly staff

By Desert_Sunrise |

This is a gallery we always try to get back to when we are in Santa Fe. The building itself is fascinating, with a variety of interesting interior doors. The outdoor sculpture garden is delightful. Despite the fact that the art here is far outside our budget, the staff and owner were very happy to talk with us and tell us about the art and gallery. One problem is accessibility -- because the building is old, there are different levels that make it difficult if not impossible for people with limited mobility to enjoy all of the gallery.

Amazing. So worth the visit.

By Hrncirwr |

Every time we've gone it's a little different, fresh, and wonderful. The garden is so peaceful. The art will knock your socks off. Great place.

Refreshing Break from the Crowds

By ChrissyAustin |

This gallery was a pleasant surprise. Just about 4 blocks from the hub bub of the town center, it's rooms contain some beautiful artwork (furniture, paintings, statutes, etc.). A friendly beagle greets you at the door, and you ramble from room to room enjoying the ambiance. But, oh my! The garden is a heavenly place--beautiful plants, lush greenery, and pleasant pond, and whimsical bronze statutes. We stayed for quite a long time.

Beautiful!

By allnameshavebeenused |

This is an absolutely lovely gallery, with a superb collection both inside and out in its sculpture garden. Highly recommended.

Gallery

By Scielbi |

Very nice gallery on the Paseo. The art and the building were wonderful. Definitely a place to stop & enjoy art.

You’ll never guess what's inside

By Mont T P |

The exterior of the building is not partiality interesting, but once your inside the collection art is quite impressive. Yes its one more gallery with a bunch of paintings and sculptures. Some wonderful ,others well I would want them if they were giving it away. But you could say that about any collection in any gallery. What is really unexpected and should not be missed is the gardens behind the building. Take the extra time to find the back door of the building and walk through the gardens and the display of BIG sculptures. No you probably can’t afford any of them but what a setting they are in, and somehow they have managed to irrigate it well enough to create a beautiful display of flowers, shrubs a trees you would not expect to find in a dry area like Santa Fe. Against this back drop the sculptures a scattered throughout and it would almost be a pity to move them, but I imagine the owners do sell a few now and then so the scene changes if you go back at a later time. I have been in there 4 times, the gallery folks figure out pretty quick I’m not likely to buy anything but are gracious and welcoming just the same.

Most beautiful gallery in Santa Fe area.

By pgscreenname |

Gorgeous gallery and garden. Fabulous paintings and sculptures. Some very old artifacts and art object and paintings.

Breathtaking!

By GayeSekula |

What a wonderful gallery! The staff was friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The art and the grounds were breathtaking. A visit to Santa Fe would not be complete without a visit to Nedra Matteucci!

More like visiting a small museum

By Susandavy |

The Matteucci Gallery and Sculpture Gardens are an exquisite jewel off Canyon Road - don't miss them!

Outstanding Artists; Friendly Staff

By 2amigos_12 |

If you are looking for a variety of artists or art work with a range of price or if you simply want to see first hand some works from famous artists, you will appreciate this gallery. The staff is very willing to help answer questions and to share their knowledge. The outdoor sculpture garden hosts many life-size (or larger) pieces as well as others.

Must see for sculpture lovers

By Diane J |

Lots of sculptures on beautiful grounds with elephant water fountain. Indoor paintings that looked 3d were amazing.

Don't Miss This Gem!

By Linda B |

If you appreciate art and architecture, you'll love these galleries. We were fortunate to be in town while they had the art of Wilson Hurley on display (along with many others). The building that houses the galleries is wonderful and that alone made me smile. But, getting to enjoy so many wonderful paintings, sculptures, and castings, was something to truly appreciate. Do not miss their outside sculpture garden and grounds (one of the greenest spaces I've ever seen in NM). The gallery staff was friendly and knowledgeable, we enjoyed conversations with several members.

Courtyard

By ocsbcs |

The sculptures of people were superb in the beautiful courtyard. The pond and flowers added a lot. The art inside was excellent.

Free, Beautiful and a pleasant surprise

By DEBBYB_10 |

I went to this Gorgeous place thinking it was an art gallery with several rooms to explore. To my surprise a hidden gem of a backyard garden with a pond and sculptures all around the pond! It was definitely one of my highlights in Santa Fe! I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area!!!

The best gallery we've ever been to

By SalfromIL |

Not surprisingly, this gallery was beyond our means. Art ranged from $20K - $400K. But the beauty was inspiring. Be sure to walk the grounds for some staggering beauty. The pond is surrounded by fountains and statuary. The path leads around the pond.

Parking is in front, just beyond where two streets Y. It took us a couple attempts to find it. But it's definitely worth the effort.

Make an effort even if you don't like art galleries

By rcccward |

I was a little surprised to see this gallery among the top attractions on Trip Advisor, but we gave it a try - the many gushing reviews did not exaggerate. There are a lot of things that make it a fascinating stop - the paintings and sculptures are interesting enough, but the price tags add further interest, plus wandering through the old adobe mansion alone is worth the trip. Above all don't miss the outdoor sculpture water garden. The top-rated Kakawa Chocolate House is just across the street if you want to recover from art overload with an amazing cup of chocolate or other treats.

A lovely gallery with a gorgeous pond in the back!

By devout_hindu |

The entrance is deceptively small, and we'd have missed the entire area in the back, had the person at the desk not told us.

Take a look at the wonderful paintings, and then take a stroll in the back, to enjoy the beautiful pond and fountains!

Best Sculpture Garden

By Cracksmeup |

I love going to this gallery!...my favorite part is the sculpture garden especially in the winter when it snows...they have a great collection of art and also an amazing case of jewelry...I highly recommend stoping in...

Incredible!!! There are not enough superlatives to describe!!

By Kai B |

WOW, what a find. This gallery is more like a museum in its range and careful display. I was absolutely overwhelmed, and spent far more time here than I had expected. Although some very famous artists are represented, I also discovered wonderful works by artist who were previously unknown to me. It was an education and a delight. And if you visit, do NOT miss the spectacular sculpture garden. We had planned to visit several other galleries in the area so our time was cut too short. On a future visit, I would leave more time to spend at this treasure of a gallery.

Terrific non-museum museum-ish visit

By Osita14 |

We were confused upon entry that they did not want our money! Well, they do, but more in the six-figure range than the $12 range, if we were going to shop. Went for the Sculpture Garden (adorable, particularly the ... well, I won't spoil it for you) but also enjoyed meandering through this hobbit-like building and viewing the art on the walls more than a number of art museums we have been to. No wheelchair available, some steps in the building, but it was all manageable though I have some mild mobility impairment. Friendly staff, keeping an eye on everything. Nice central location.

Beautiful and Peaceful - Da Honeymoon continues....

By Valeriel2009 |

This gallery is worth your time. Beautiful and peaceful - a great place to relax and admire nature. The gardens, statues and koi pond were incredible.

A beautiful presentation of art and outdoor sculpture garden

By Fred Z |

I'd have to classify this as a must visit when you're in Santa Fe. We happened to visit on a Saturday afternoon and many of the artists were there. Although I couldn't afford any of the pieces, it sure was fun to look!

Delightful....Don't miss!

By Newfoundmm |

This is an amazing assortment of art. I was enthralled in each room and LOVED the back gardens filled with more fabulous art! I am still talking about it!

Something for all tastes and budgets

By Jeffrey B |

My wife and I enjoyed browsing through the many rooms of this large gallery. We especially appreciated the eclectic selection of art from all over the world and from many artists. Prices ranged from a $70 pottery owl to a $825K Georgia O'Keeffe oil painting. Staff were helpful and not pushy. Parking can be tight.

Don't miss this art gallery, which is really like a museum itself

By Jack F |

Every time I visit Santa Fe I stop by to see the wonderful art exhibited for sale that is here. The artists are of the best. Don't miss the outdoor sculpture garden!

You won't suspect what is behind those stone walls...

By HiLoHa |

This seemingly small gallery on Paseo de Peralto is a real find in a city of many, many art galleries. First, the adobe building is beautiful, historic and a perfect setting for the wonderful art work on display. As you leave the indoor space to the back you enter the magnificent 1 acre sculpture garden with trails and fountains that will keep you captivated for at least the time it takes to forget how crowded Santa Fe can get. Don't miss this wonderful diversion free of charge.

Museum quality art!

By William H |

I have visited this gallery many times and it has never failed to impress. It has a wonderful range of carefully selected consignment art for sale, always of a very high quality. The assistants are highly knowledgeable and helpful whether you are only looking or you are interested in making a purchase. The sculpture garden is excellent. It is located within walking distance of Canyon Road so it can be easily taken in if you are doing the tour of the galleries.

Top gallery in Santa Fe

Very nice gallery to visit while in Santa Fe. Little over our price point, but fun to look. Many galleries in the area.

Amazing art

By julia5053 |

We really enjoyed the wide selection of art on display in this wonderful historic gallery. Paintings and sculpture from a variety of American and European masters are all accessible. The gardens are a hidden gem. Definitely a "go to" spot when in Santa Fe.
