Flat out one of the best places to enjoy Lake Tahoe. Great views, nice sand, decent restrooms, etc. Unlike the south and southwest shores, you don't have to walk out a mile to get deep enough water to swim; it drops right off. The only downer is the constant droning sound of jet skis and motorboats, which has nothing to do with the park and everything to do with poor management of the Lake.

This beach is clean, spacious, plenty of parking and perfect! The dog beach area at the south end is the best I have found. The sand is a little rough on the feet but it is a new favorite stop in Tahoe.

By casagtraveler |

The Forest Sercice doesn't allow dogs on Nevada Beach per se, but they do provide easy access to the beautiful dog beach on County land immediately to the South. You can pay to park in their beach front parking lots, then follow the painted paw prints on the paved path at the South end of the lots. You will skirt the edge of the campground and within a couple hundred hards will be at the dog beach.

We also went to the dog beach at Kiva Beach. It was nice, but Nevada Beach is cleaner, the water is clearer, and access is easier.

Most dogs are off leash and very well behaved. Our lab/retriever mix had a blast! Be a responsible owner and pick up after your pet and keep an eye on them as they play.

Great beach to take your dog. There is a whole section of this beach just for dogs. We were there with a friend who has a dog and were surprised how clean the beach was and how friendly all the people were.

By Mathyew |

I was surprised by just how nice a beach this was. I wasn't really expecting sand on a lake beach, high in the mountains. We spent an hour sitting on the beach, enjoying the view and the sun. The day we were there, the sand was so hot you could barely walk on it.

Loved this beach! Parking was full, so we headed across the main street and parked at the Safeway, which has signs for 2 hour parking. That worked fine bc we only planned on being here for that amount of time. If you want to park closer be sure to get there before 10:00am during summer months. The water is so blue and clean and it’s sandy, not boulders. There are picnic tables and restrooms. Great!

By Slivovic |

We were worried about parking on a Friday at this public beach but you just park on the street that leads up to the beach. No issues. Beautiful beach and beautiful views. The beach is clean and the restrooms are clean. Tip- the far building of restroom are individual (6) bathrooms that are very clean. The beach is large, not crowded and a great day to spend your day.

Lots o' sand!!...a real beach!! :)
Met a lot of really good people just trying to 'get away from it all'. Talked to some of the rangers there and they were really friendly.
My new bride and I rode bikes around the camp grounds and asked questions of some of the other tourists.
Very 'mellow' place and really enjoyed our stay!!

Spent the day on Nevada beach while visiting Stateline, Nevada! Georgeous beach with crystal clear water. Excellent beach for little ones as it is a sandy beach and very few rocky areas. Ample parking if you arrive early in the day. Clean facilities. Great view of the snow top Sierra Nevada mountains across the lake!

We were at Tahoe in mid-June, staying in walking distance of this beautiful Forest Service beach. It's accessible by road or an easy walk down the bike trail from Elk Point or from the most-northerly casino on Hwy 50. Since we were staying within walking distance, we didn't have to pay the fee for parking (we were towing a small boat, and they said we couldn't bring the trailer into the parking area.) It looked like many people were parking on Elk Point Road and walking about a quarter mile to use the beach for free.
We were fortunate that the lake was very un-crowded that week, the weather was perfect, and the water near shore was relatively warm. The sand is coarse (doesn't cling to clothes or towels) and very clean. Dogs are allowed at the "boat-in" south end. We brought our 17' boat in to shore once to drop off the kids, but didn't see anyone else boating in (beaching would have been relatively easy, a foot or so drop-off at the surf line but no big rocks.) We enjoyed paddling our inflatable kayak and lounging in the sun.
Nevada Beach Campground adjoins the beach, and looks like it would be a great place for tent or RV camping.

Unfortunately we only had limited time to visit Tahoe and wanted to drive round the whole lake so we only spent 30 minutes on the beach.

There were plenty of picnic tables and benches available. People were setting up gazebos over the tables and having barbecue's which looked an excellent way to spend a day at the beach. There were restrooms within minutes of the beach.

We'd have loved to have been able to stay longer, its definitely worth a visit

We went to Nevada Beach and went for a walk on the beautiful shore line. We enjoyed seeing the vista views of Lake Tahoe. There is nice picnic areas, including a covered group picnic ground area. There is also a camp ground.

The park is well maintained. It is in the Zephyr Cove area of Lake Tahoe.

Nice beach with plenty of tables and beaches.
Great place for families with young kids.
$10 for parking. Parking fills up quick.

By Bev8789 |

The regular beach does not allow dogs, but if you pay the 8 dollar fee and park on the left side facing the water, you will find the trail with the puppy paws on it. We took our dog on a leash down and picked out a great spot and then took a shortcut through a closer entrance to the car for the rest of our stuff. Clean rest rooms with running water, nice parking area and great sandy beach make this a fun visit. There are kayaks, paddle boats and boards to rent. Our dog, Andy, met some nice playmates and everyone behaved pretty well except for one poop we had to pick up for someone else. The water area is shallow and sandy for a long way out which makes it nice for ball throwing and swimming. Please pick up poop so this beach remains dog friendly. We want to come back next visit and enjoy the clean water and beach.

You can get to this beach from the campground. We wanted to take a walk so we parked for free and walked about 1.5 miles with our dog on the gorgeous Rabe Meadows Trail. The trail is easy, dog-friendly and leads you down to Nevada Beach, which is also dog-friendly. At one point, the trail forks. If you take the right fork, this adds a little extra distance to the walk, which was our choice. The sand is coarse. There are tons of dogs running around and playing off leash in the sand and in the water. After playing on the beach with our dog, we ended up back on the fork we didn't originally take, so we didn't have to backtrack as much.

Great easy bike ride or walk through meadows, ponds and stream. End up at the lake with beautiful panoramic views. Bring the kids, dogs on leashes. I'm an older reviewer but I come here every day with my dogs. Much easier in spring and summer nut also a great area to snowshoe or alittle cross country skiing.

By Barbara M |

We planned a morning beach trip, since the parking lot fills up. We still had to park about a mile away, on the road, and hike the path down to the beach. Despite that, Nevada Beach has lots more sand than most beaches at Lake Tahoe, and also has restrooms.

By InterMMiami |

A very nice beach on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe, located behind the Wyndham Resort we were staying in. Nice walk down the road from the hotel. The beach is very pretty, loved the fresh air by the Lake. Worth coming and spending some time here.

By Tim B |

200 yards from my campsite to Lake Tahoe. Only disappointment was a fee to DRIVE my vehicle down to the beach day use area. So I walked down at night and enjoyed the spectacular view over the lake and the bright lights of South Tahoe, just a five minute drive away.

By Sandy D |

Located in Zyphyr Cove, NV, this is one beautiful beach and campground....a wonderful surprise. There are endless areas for sunbathing, beach volleyball, etc. Plenty of picnic tables in the sun or under a ponderosa pine tree. The bathroom facilities have flush toilets and are modern & clean. A nearby campground appears to have plenty of sites, nestled in the trees w/access to the crystal clear lake and views that go on forever. We walked down from a condo unit (on a trail thru the trees) so I'm unsure if there is a day-use/parking fee.

This was an unexpected find...next time we're bringing our RV!

10 years of visiting Tahoe in the winter but first time in the summer! This was our first beach visit. It has everything - space, picnic tables, barbecues, restrooms, snack bar, seating and car parking ($8 all day). Activities include kayaking, pedal boats and hiking. I even saw parasailing! Very clean and peaceful with beautiful views and clear water. Tranquil. Take your coolers and plenty of sunscreen. CHECK ON ALCOHOL, tho!!!!

By Mary L |

The views are scenic. Lake, mountains, beach and crystal clear water. This beach is much quieter that Sand Harbor. Picnic tables and grilling spots available. There were some geese on the beach but they didn't bother anyone. The beach was very clean.
Pay to enter beach area: per car fee!

By Roselyn |

love this lake, gives you that beach feels 😁. The sound of waves relaxes me while laying on the sand and getting my tan on. #SUNSOUTBUNSOUT #ijustlovesummer #hellosunshine

By LouieCK |

Hard to imagine a better public beach then this one.
You can camp near the casinos, if that's you're thing, and still have easy access to an absolutely enormous natural sand beach. Everybody was kind, the campsites were pristine, and the facilities were spotless. I say yes to this place.

During our last trip out to Reno, we spent a day in California as well and our 5 year old remembered going to the beach and looking for shells & she wanted to do it again, but we didn't have the time to go to CA. We resolved to go to Tahoe and see what we could see. We drove around Tahoe looking for a public beach hoping for a free one, but couldn't find one. We finally decided on Nevada beach where we were charged $8 upon entry. We were able to park close to the beach and walk down. It was beautiful and clean. While there were plenty of rocks & pebbles there weren't any shells, but that didn't dampen my daughters good time. She jumped in the cool water and waded for a while & out 11 mo old twins enjoyed getting their feet wet. For our next Reno trip, we'll probably return with picnic in hand and more time to devote to this beach.

Not at all crowded since it’s December. Very pleasant and peaceful to walk along the beach with a brisk, cool wind and splashing of water. Beautiful setting with snow capped peaks in the horizon and tall pine trees everywhere. Worth a visit even in winter. I’m sure this place is rocking during summer.

By ShereaneHouston |

Best camping near lake. Lots of dogs running and swimming Great for family camp outs if you are lucky enough to get spots near each other during same dates. Have to book six months ahead yo try to get what you want. Great day site for picnics.

By mlbrazas |

This is a great beach. Very clean, restrooms on site. Barbecuing is allowed. Be aware that winds pick up in the afternoon on this beach and can have a chilling effect. Also the water is very cold and gets deep pretty close to shore. Allin all we had an awesome time here.

By babobear1 |

Nevada Beach is a beautiful stretch of beach on a stunningly gorgeous lake. It is a US Forest property and is well maintained. If you are looking for an desolate beach experience, this is not for you .It does get crowded on the weekends so get there early. Weekdays are not as crowded. Even though the parking lot is full the beach has plenty of space for all. There is a large pavilion, grills and lots of picnic tables too. The campground is right along the beach and the sites have trees around them. Dogs are not allowed on the most of the beach however there is a large area of the beach where dogs are allowed. Check the Nevada Beach website for more information.

By Violeta O |

nice beach located close to Tahoe strip. activities like para sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding, water skiing and sandy beach. like a park setting. picnic tables and restrooms available. Has a barbecue area or bring your own grill but has to be gas, charcoal not allowed.

By John M |

This has quite a long stretch of white sanded beach. It has cover eating areas and Bar-B-Qs for public use. There is camping and an RV park available. There was quite a few people on the beach over Memorial Day weekend, but not overly crowded. We were told it is much more crowded over the July 4th holiday. There are public restrooms, a small snack shop, and walkways from the parking area to just about the shore line.

By Ally G |

We have to been to this beach many tines during Autumn and Winter and this was our first Summer visit to this beach.
We went on a weekday about 12:30 - no crowds and no problem parking. Hubby dropped me off by entrance gate as I have a foot issue right now - lots of signs that say don't do this - oh well....he went to park on free area up the road.
We went on a Saturday - early - about 10:15 - no crowds yet - did same drop off and campground lady yelled at me. I just waved as we did not hold anyone up nor block any exits or entrances. By the time we left on Saturday - parking already full and you are not allowed to wait for a spot.
The breach area has bathrooms, foot washing station and snack shack.
The sand of course but really leave feet soft. Super views from beach and plenty of space.
This year the water is so warm you can spend a lot of time swimming.
Cleanliness seems to vary on his busy - weekdays not much litter - Saturday much more.
It's a lovely beach at Tahoe.

By Dan W |

Our extended family visits Lake Tahoe at least once every two years if not several times. Nevada Beach is our favorite.lakeside beach. The beach is clean, not too crowded and has a nice even approach to the water, no drop offs or large rocks. It's a pleasant spot and one I highly recommend for it's proximity as well as its quality.

By Kisma1 |

We have been to this beach twice and each trip was pleasant. The beach is clean but the only complaint I have is there is limited parking. It is a popular spot but difficult to get into because of the parking. Beach is clean and a great place for families.

By jfauve |

off season this is a peaceful beautiful beach ...clear blue lake, silence, clear blue sky... it was magic!

By terryglad |

Summer weekends at Lake Tahoe don't have to be a fight for parking and picnic tables. An alternative to South Lake Tahoe Summer frenzy with mob scenes and traffic jams is the tranquility of Zephyr Cove.

$10 to park all day until 8 pm. $35.00 (per hour) for a double sear kayak is worth it to avoid the swimsuit swarm of bodies at other lake beaches.

Plenty of parking, picnic tables and space in a beautiful setting of tall pines and clear blue Tahoe water.

The lake is a little colder and waves choppier because of other watercraft in a smaller area for boaters and paddle boarders.

It is also the ideal beach for campers staying at the Nevada Beach campground. Walking trails and bike trails and enough elbow room to make this beach one of our favorites on the east side of Lake Tahoe. Scenic, great sunsets and a quieter vibe. Nice safe place for families. We noticed no loud partyers around whatsoever.

Clean restrooms available. Pro instructors at the rentals who will make sure even novices like us are safety aware and well prepared to take out a watercraft. So enjoy a day at the lake in beautiful nature and lots of fun in the 🌞!

We spent 2 hours with family and friends in this beach, just 10 minutes Car ride from Lake Tahoe.
It is one of the beautiful beaches I visited so far. Beach water is very clean and much transparent. Lots of good sand. kids as well as elders can enjoy playing games.
Water is much tasty. Less crowded.beach.
You can park your car near to the beach. Parking fee is USD8/.

As soon as you have left the Lincoln Hwy and walked 1/4 mile down the path towards Nevada Beach, the hustle and bustle of the casinos and the hwy is gone. This is a quiet area with flowers, ponds, trees just a mile's way from the chaos. Spend more time there on the paths, go for walks and leave the casinos alone. Well spent time and (no) money.

Nevada Beach, NV. NO CROWDS, NICE SANDY BEACH, Walk in Free, drive in 7 dollars.
The North end is new with nice clean rest rooms new picnic tables some in shade from tall pin trees some close to the lake. Wyndham resort is 1.5 miles from resort to Nevada Beach
Safeway grocery store gas station is across the hwy about 2 miles, South Shore Lake Tahoe about 5 miles. If you go up the Heavenly Gondola Note the ZIP line is Closed till next year.
The Fire works could be seen all around the Lake, north shore and south shore fireworks were set off from barges, We sat at the shore line edge right on the lake and watched a wonderful show.
First North shore shot up their fire works around 8:45pm, then at 9:45 pm South shore shot up their fire works and smaller resorts around the lake shot up their fire works. The camp ground looked nice except the noise from RV Generators running. We stayed at the Wyndham South Shore Resort. 1.5 miles up the road and walked to the beach.

Parking is a challenge on the Fourth of July, but it was well worth the walk. Absolutely beautiful!!!

By tandmeguy |

This is probably the best beach in the area and we love it. Very popular with the locals and a must visit for visitors - especially for the sunset :-)

By legsbell |

There are picnic tables and BBQs but get there early as they are quickly taken. You can walk forever and the water is calm enough for small children.

By John P |

We spent nearly 2 hours waiting for sunset, which we were all guessing the time it would occur (8:20)pm based on the sun's rate of descent. We watched the sun on Heavenly Mountain, then we watched the moon appear over it. We were warm upon arrival and chilled upon departure, but the breeze made the difference because once we stepped off the beach, it was warm again walking the trail home.
The water was pretty rough, and the kids photographed it's clarity with telephoto lens'. Yet the the next morning when we went back, it was serene and placid.

By Jessica M |

I stayed at Nevada Beach Campground for the first time over Labor Day and it was the best campground I have been too. The camping spots are large and walking distance to the Lake. The beach was clean with trees and picnic tables. The campground was so quiet, clean and the bathrooms have running water. Highly recommend this campground to anyone

By Jack F |

Nevada beach is a beautiful long beach; there's space for everyone. You can just park your car and enter to the beach. Or you can use the campground and camp almost next to the lake. Very nice experience! They have all the campground facilities, like space for RVs or tents, restrooms, grills, bear boxes, picnic tables, etc.

Sunsets are amazing there!

By soulsisters |

Pure beauty! Crystal clear blue Lake Tahoe is the backdrop of this incredible beach. Large, gorgeous, clean beach, clean restrooms, lots of picnic tables and grills. Amazing getaway for a picnic and a relaxing day. Mind-blowing scenery!! I truly feel this beach is indeed a "hidden gem". During the summer there is a vendor in the parking lot that sells various food items (I'm not sure what all they have since we brought a gourmet picnic with us....yummy!)

By Simon69 |

Great beach just a short drive from South Lake Tahoe. Plentiful parking, benches and picnic areas. Plenty of restrooms. Nice sand which is slightly course so doesn’t stick. Bit of a problem with wasps when we visited. Water was freezing (in Sept).

By Beth C |

On the Southern part of Lake Tahoe up the road from the casinos. This beach is one of the biggest and best beaches with a great view of the lake. The sand is soft even though it is a larger grain. There are some trees and picnic tables which you will want to grab early, because the shade will be your savior in the heat of the day.
The water is chilly but refreshing and crystal clear. There is kayaking and stand up paddle boarding. $35.00 per hour.
Tips: get there early, there is a fee because it's a state park, seniors get discounts but you need an aarp card. The weekends fill up fast and there is limited parking. Plan on staying all day it is worth it. Make sure you have all you need because if you forget something you need to wait on line again to get in and you will lose your spot.

By vanessa e |

We spent the night before the 4.7 at the beach. It is a beautiful sandy and quiet beach with trees and picnic tables . The water is amazingly freezing and transparent. The stuff helped us a lot by being flexible and nice . Thanks to the "rangers" here we had a great experience in lake Tahoe ! Tnx!

By Wayne W |

This is a great beach for families. Parking was difficult in a Sunday but while there were many people on the beach, it did not seem crowded because of the amount of space available. There were kayaks, paddle boards, and paddle boats for rental. Restrooms were available and a concession stand was open. This is a great spot to access Lake Tahoe.

By Dre |

This beach is long and wide has nice restrooms and can rent paddle boards and paddle boats. Opens early and open late great beach our favorite at tAhoe

By Lauren J |

This is a spectacular view! I highly recommend seeing this !! I did the flowers for my friends wedding on the beach! It was romantic and gorgeous! The view looking at the lake is spectacular as is the view looking at the trees! Everything is clean and well kept !

By Michael D |

Enjoy the lake view while sunbathing or just family fun. Nice sandy beach. It costs $7 to park for the day. Walk-in is free. A nice place to visit while visiting Lake Tahoe.

By I_Think_I_Might_Know |

Visited in early August. The weather was fantastic. We parked in a free lot and walked about 20 minutes to get to Nevada beach. The view from the beach is really fantastic with mountains all around bordering the bright blue water of Lake Tahoe. The sand at the beach is rather course (like very tiny rocks), but generally clean and nice. This coarse sand actually brushed off much easier than finer sand does. The lake water was rather cold but very clear. The beach has a designated area for dogs. There were also a few benches to sit on which was great. Overall a really nice beach.

By Terry S |

The beach and the trail leading to it are great with beautiful views of Lake Tahoe and the snow capped mountains. There is a fee to drive up and park close to the beach, but you can walk in using a paved trail from route 50.

By Lynn D |

Nevada Beach is for public day use, only. All vehicles must leave the area by closing time.
I’ve seen other reviews talking about having dogs on the beach and the beach being dog friendly. The rules ban dogs on the beach and even all of Douglas County requires leashes on dogs at all times.
Nevada Beach is the most convenient beach for the Worldmark complex at South Shore at Zephyr Cove. My wife and I stayed at Worldmark and went down to the beach on Thursday, July 16, 2020. Others also drove in from elsewhere to enjoy Nevada Beach.
If you carry any water toys or beach equipment in your vehicle and you want to go to Nevada Beach, be sure to go early in the morning. They open the gate to the three parking areas at 8 a.m. Once they have let in enough cars for the parking spaces, they lock the entrance gate and you won’t get in with your vehicle. Also, if you get in during the morning and want to leave for a short while and return, you won’t get back in if the gate is already locked, despite having your receipt for the day taped to the upper left corner of your windshield. They do not reopen the gate. If the gate is still open, though, from the parking areas not being full, your receipt will let you back in on the day of issue.
Be aware that they charge $10 per vehicle to drive in and use those parking spaces at the beach. If you already have a Senior National Parks pass, you can get a 50 percent discount and get in for $5. I think Access passes might provide the 50 percent discount, too, but I didn’t ask about those.
On some days, the cars line up starting at about 7:45, so you might want to plan accordingly. We went down there on Thursday, July 16, on that advice and were the first in line at 7:45 with only about four or five more cars joining us in line by the time they opened the gate. I have heard about other mornings having 15 or more cars by 8:00. That might be the usual crowd on the weekend with fewer people going on the weekdays, but I wasn’t there every day to check the numbers. They do have 147 parking spaces between all three parking areas, so getting there right at opening time might not be that critical for someone who isn’t picky about what’s left over.
A lot of people also park along Elks Point Road leading back out toward highway 50 without paying to drive in. Once parked on the side of the road, they just walk down to the beach from there, which is up to a half-mile hike from the upper end of the road. Some carry paddle boards or other water toys the distance from their parked car to the beach. That would have been too much for my wife and me with all the things we wanted with us for the beach and the water.
The parking at the beach is about 200 feet or so from the water’s edge with a walkway for most of that leading across the sand from the edge of each parking area. The beach also has several picnic tables spread out along its length. No camping is allowed. The beach does have a few propane gas grills or you can take your own gas grill. Remember, only gas grills are allowed on the beach. They do not allow personal charcoal grills at all nor open fires.
Kayaks, paddle boards, rafts, and canoes are allowed on the North and South ends of Nevada Beach, only outside the marked swimming area. We chose the North end and that seemed to be popular, but not crowded, on the morning we were there.
Other beach visitors you might see would be the geese. After people get there and start settling in, the geese might show up and mill about, evidently in hopes of getting some handouts or something somebody might have dropped and left behind. The geese seemed to be a bit wary, but not entirely afraid of people, since they’d pass within just a few feet of us without seeming too anxious while they scanned the sand for goodies.
A personal note: Please don’t feed the geese. Human food, especially anything processed, such as bread or rolls, just is not good for them.
Not Allowed:
Dogs, towed vehicles, tents, or nudity. They provide no free admission nor refund once you have paid. Parking is only in designated areas.
Plan your visit accordingly if you go to Nevada Beach.
Have fun and be safe.

There are two ways to enjoy Nevada Beach, camping and day-use. You can either make reservations to camp there, or pay for a single-day use permit. For the single day visitor that enjoys an easy, picturesque walk/hike, park in the lot off of Kahle Drive and Lake Tahoe Blvd (it's free). The walk is flat (no hills), runs along Burke Creek amidst lots of trees. In the fall, many of the trees turn a beautiful color of yellow/gold.
My husband and I always take this walk when in the South Lake Tahoe area.
***We were there the first week of October 2012 and the parking lot was under construction. It looks like the city is putting in a new parking lot, adding a paved path and new bridge.**

We've been to South Lake Tahoe numerous times and just discovered Nevada Beach. It is located in a National Forest campground. The beach is one of the most beautiful on the South Shore. We had noticed people walking from a parking area just off of Highway 50 and Kahle Dr. through the surrounding meadows. Just a couple minutes from the casinos, it looked like a great place for a walk. The parking area holds about a dozen cars and a trail head called Lam Watah Trail starts here and winds through some beautiful forests and meadows and ends a mile or so later at Nevada Beach. A great alternative to driving to the day use parking area at the campground from Zypher Cove. If the parking lot is full, which I am sure it will often be, there is some off street parking just down the street.

By rickbrennanrn |

A beautiful spot to relax and take in the views. Parking was only $10, and we had no problems finding a spot. Not quite the same beaches that I'm used to in FL, but still an awesome day. The "sand" is more like broken down rocks, but you're still able to walk barefoot on it. The water is ridiculously cold, even in June. Geese walking around add to the experience. A must see if you're in the area.

By AnnmarieK |

great big space (#9) close to bathrooms (only-no showers) within walking distance of Lake Tahoe, sand is a bit rough, but clean. near a rental company that we rented a SUP from all day (reasonable priced). overall a nice place to camp.

Breathtaking views. The high was a windy 61 but barely a cloud in the sky. Breathtaking view and not very crowded. Check this out near south lake tahoe.

Nice small easy walk to the beach. Bathrooms are clean and easy to find. It had an amazing view of the mountains. Had a spot for a wedding too.

Honestly, I've been to this beach now at least 8 times, and upon each occasion, walking the park area, with the paved pathway down into the 'dog off leash' beach friendly area....is hardly that! I've seen numerous...pretty much "everyone" that has a large-sized dog....off the leash.....Myself I have 2 small doggies "on the leash" at all times, and I do obey the DOG LEASH laws posted, but regardless, if you go to this park area, before getting to the specific beach area, where I see it is quite relaxing, calm, scenic and beautiful...just BEWARE of all the OFF LEASH roaming dogs on the pathway, etc., which the Owners have Absolutely no regard for their safety and my safety and my dogs safety!!! The dog beach itself, which is located on a specific portion of the Nevada State Beach area, is also, "dog off leash" area, but the owners there have NO CONTROL of their dogs, I've seen many large breeds literally come up to smaller medium sized breed/dog and attack them, etc., In my opinion, this is a lawsuit, huge VET bill and stress 101! And Please don't tell me...." my dog is friendly" 'my dog is friendly" .....that in and of itself is pointless.....You have an animal it has instincts of its own...and you as a pet owner should be obeying the laws of having a dog on the leash and/or trained voice commands where the dog actually obeys, if in fact the dog is off the leash roaming around specifically on a dog off leash beach! I've told the local 'volunteers' their who work on site, but that is also totally "pointless" since after mentioning to them I saw 2 huge giant sized poodles roaming around off leash on the pathway like wild horses...they told me, oh a girl here was bitten by a pitbull from the campsite area....now go figure that! Do I need to watch out for cuddly "bears".....or man's best friend.....lol!

Nice roadside beach, and although there are lots of people, you can still find room to set up a good home base. We visited on a Saturday in July, and yes, there were lots of people, but we still had a great time! You can find a spot to enjoy yourself, since the beach is very large and spread out. The water was warmer than expected, and while I stood with my feet in the water, our friends floated about on their unicorn and kiwi inner tubes while my lovely girlfriend swam around like a fish. Restrooms are available, but keep in mind that where there are lots of families, there are lots of bathroom breaks. Therefore, the line can be a bit long at times. Bring some snacks, drinks, and a penchant for fun!

By Timezone Travelers |

We did a bike ride from a nearby rental location (Shoreline) which we highly recommend. The path brings you to the beach. There were few people there midweek. The views are breathtaking. Definitely recommend stopping here.

By MyBucketListTrips |

This is a family and dog friendly beach. It’s near the campground and at the end of an easy 1 mile walk through Rabe Meadows. Parking is $10 per car, with limited space. If you choose to park in the lot, get there early.

By Dagmar W |

This location is as perfect as it gets! I especially like the light colored sand and the tall pine trees right on the beach, it is an unusual combination that is extra spectacular during the sunset hour. Beach also provides a good number of picnic tables, and one large covered pavilion that can be rented for special events, such as weddings. The camping spaces are also nice and clean and provide for privacy too. Parking is convenient, and relatively close to the beach. There is also a large grocery store just up the street to purchase picnic supplies or deli items. Overall I would actually be willing to travel a relatively long distance to reach this location and find it much nicer than beaches I have been to in the Caribbean or Hawaii. I also think it is a real loss for anyone who has never been there. Day use fee is $8 per vehicle. Recommendation is to stay for at least half a day when the weather permits it (summer), but even a much shorter visit is still worth it. Season runs from mid May to mid Oct.

We were visiting Lake Tahoe with our dog and asked about best dog beach close to Stateline and the hotel recommended this beach. It's right off Hwy 50 a mile or so North of Stateline. There's a parking lot with bathrooms and a paved path you can follow to the beach. It's about an hour round trip and a nice walk through meadow and pine trees.

Only complaint is that the beach only allows dogs on-leash. But we had a good time and it has beautiful views of the lake and the mountains. Not much for kids to do as the water is cold.

Beautiful sandy beach. Clean beach and clear crisp waters. Mountains in the background. Shade from trees and a covered picnic area available. No lifeguards. Went on Sunday in August and it was not very crowded. Small cottage where ice cream and drinks available. Pay parking close in. We parked on street, no problem.

This is a wonderful beach with gorgeous views of the lake and the surrounding area. We were staying just up the road, so we were able to walk there. We came for the sunsets and the Fourth of July fireworks. Although there were a lot of people there, we were still able to get a good place for the fireworks. They is a nice area for picnics. There is a fee for parking.

plan on bringing a fly swatter, trying to have a small picnic when unfriendly, uninvited guests show up, while your desperately trying to eat your Subway sandwiches with a date, can't get to cozy, your feather friends will end your Blind Date.

This is a National Forest Service Park. Great sandy beach lakefront Tahoe swimming for the brave only very cold water. Large covered picnic areas. Unfortunately the NFS closed the park at end of September. The weather is good in October so you can still get to the park and beach but you must walk from street parking. Great bike trails all over the area. The restrooms are closed so be prepared ahead of time.

Nothing like Zephyr Cove... it's very expansive in size. If you have a family, this is the beach.

Great beach but too many dogs. Dogs are allowed at one end of the beach but people violate the no dog rule in the swimming area. No one seems to enforce the rules that are there for sanitary reasons. Who wants to lay their towel down on dog urine and feces? also I was confronted by a pit bull when I came out of the water. Luckily the owner saw what was happening and dragged the dog into the water before it came at me. Not what I wanted to experience at a no dog beach.

To see this area is really something to behold. What a beautiful area. From a distance the lake is just so blue it is unreal. Close up it can unusual because it has a nice beach, than it has boulders in areas. And the lake is still blue, but you can see thru it. Really something. A great place for a hike, swim, picnic or just stop on the road. Do yourself a favor and stop for awhile.

We went on a Saturday, it was crowded and the place is nice and vibrant. We spent a very short time here and left. There are many public facilities available. Please be mindful there in is an entry fee. If you want to enjoy the beach better get early otherwise you will find it difficult to get a place for parking and sunbathing.

We have enjoyed traveling to Lake Tahoe for many decades and I think this is just about the nicest beach of all. It's an easy hike, which might make it a bit less crowded than those that have adjacent parking lots. The views of the lake and the mountains in the background are truly beautiful. It's a very long beach, good for walking and nice for easy access into the water.

Great beach on the lake, good views of the snow cap mountains. Beaches are clean. It gets busy so go early. If you want to take your dog there is only one spot that dogs are allowed and you have to hike in about 1 mile, but it is worth it.

What a beautiful place. The water is pristine, the sand, beach, and picnic areas are very well maintained. To sit on this beach and admire your surroundings is just absolutely spectacular. I've been all around the world and Lake Tahoe, and specifically this place will forever be cemented in my memory.

The beach has ample parking for what I was expecting to be a busy Sunday afternoon. There were picnic tables scatter throughout the grounds and spread far enough apart that you were you never too close to any other group. This is a state/national park, so you need to pay to get into the park, no big deal at all. If it keeps the place clean and facilities taken care of.

The white sand beach is very clean, sparkling clear water.. Stunning views of the lake and Sierra.
There are a lot of picnic tables, some in the shade. There is also a covered area of tables that can be reserved for large groups.
Very clean/new restroom facilities.
Handicap accessibility is very good with a boardwalk from parking area to beach.
The $7 parking fee helps keep beach and facilities clean, well worth it,
