As a bourbon distillery I have wanted to visit for a long time, it definitely didn't disappoint at all! Great experience!

The facility was very classy and rustic. The Bonded tour was very interesting and informative. The tasting area was disappointing and really didn’t represent the “New Riff” decor style that’s very apparent throughout their facility.
Their Wild gin is fantastic.

This is a fairly new distillery (under 10 years in business) and at times it showed. The facility is new and uses a modern/industrial look. But we enjoyed sampling the bourbons and rye whiskies. They were all good and depending on one's taste there was something for everyone. The bartender was happy to talk about the products and was engaging with the people he served. We spent a couple of hours here enjoying the view, and the product.
Would definitely return. Good stuff.

I've been on many distillery tours and a tour guide can make or break an enjoyable and informative experience. Stuart was one of my favorite guides, funny and very knowledgeable about New Riff. I'm trying to collect all the passport stamps but I can see myself revisiting this tour.

We participated in the Bonded Tour on our visit to the distillery. We had an excellent tour guide, Eric, who provided us with a great review of the history of the distillery and the process of making bourbon and rye spirits. We had a very enjoyable afternoon! Left with a couple of bottles of rye to that we are looking forward to sharing with the neighbors. Only wish that there were bottles of the heirloom grain spirits to purchase.

I have gone on a number of distillery tours, large and small, this was one of the best. Our tour guide, Grover, was very knowledgeable and very entertaining. I give him a :Big Thumbs Up". You could easily tell he enjoys his job. He gave a very good history lesson on how the owners went from owning a chain of liquor stores to opening their very own distillery. Unfortunately, they were prevented legally from owning both. Rather than sell their liquor stores to the highest bidder they sold the business to their employees. Grover led us through the complete distillery process. We tasted 6 different whiskeys (Kentucky Straight Bourbon & Ryes ). All were excellent. Very difficult to chose a favorite. At the end of the tour we were given a wooden coin that was worth $ 10 off our $ 25 purchase in their gift shop. I'll be back the next time I visit Kentucky.

Stuart was a wonderful tour guide. Very informative not only about the business but also about the history of bourbon in general. The tasting at the end was fantastic.

Great drinks at the bar before our tour and the gift shop had some great pics. Loved learning how that got to be where they are and oh that Balboa rye has changed my thinking on rye! Grover was an excellent source of information!

We had such a great time doing this tour. Great tour guide, educational, beautiful distillery, and some amazing bourbon and gone. Definitely grab a cocktail when finished, the bartender makes some really great ones.

Went as a group of couples. It made a great Sunday Funday activity followed by lunch at Libby’s Southern Comfort. Very informative and I loved how the tastings were spread out along the tour so you got to enjoy them more separately.

Grover did a good job with the tour and tasting. The bourbon is great and the location is very easy to access. Would recommend.

We did the distillery's tour and it was great. Grover was an excellent tour guide. Very informative, fun and made it enjoyable for my wife and 3 year old. The tasting was great at the end too.

Our tour guide Stuart was great. You want your guide to know what they are talking about and have a good time with it and he did just that. New Riff is a great place to stop for great bourbon and being a small distillery it shows that even the small guy can compete in the industry which is really cool.

Fantastic Tour and Tasting! Grover was fabulous and did incredibly thorough job showing off the facility, taking the group through the process and of course serving up some wonderful bourbon/ryes for our group!

Only recommendation that our group had was that there was a competing event being set up during the time of our tasting so having limited space felt a bit rushed/cluttered upstairs.

Would recommend that the New Riff team consider an alternate/secondary location inside the facility/on the patio to help facilitate the many places available to enjoy the bourbon. Heck, even downstairs at the gift shop bar would be fine to then have everyone stay, hang out and even try Balboa or other great products that the distillery makes!

Not Grover's fault, just a bit cluttered and rushed. Will try it again and will definitely keep New Riff on future Bourbon Trail itineraries!

Great visit and tasting. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the process and the industry more broadly. You get to see the fermenting tanks and the still and a few other areas.

The tour guide was absolutely amazing, i've done a ton of Vineyard tours and that's usually the only time that i feel someone is very enthusiastic about the work. This was the first time at another tour where i felt that!

This is a must stop on your visit to Newport/Covington/Cincy. The atmosphere is relaxing and the people go above and beyond to make sure you have a top notch experience. The bar upstairs is beautiful and the view is exquisite! Thanks New Riff for an awesome day!

Firstly, the building is beautiful and the bar is just gorgeous. Secondly, we did the tour which was unique for several reasons: we started with a tasting of the bottle and bonded, then at each stop we had a tasting, ending in the bar; we were able to try the high wine which has never been offered on a tour. Our guide was fun and knowledgable. After the tour we enjoyed craft cocktails, and the pretzel with pub cheese and mustard. Highly recommend.

We visited ten distilleries on a four day bourbon tour and New Ruff was our last and favorite! Our tour guide Dan was laid back but informative and seemed to be having a good time with our group. Great bourbon also. Highly recommend!

The tasting tour was excellent, I ended up at the Bar on the first floor. The knowledge of every employee was impressive, the folks really know whiskey. I departed with 6 bottles (one was a gift). I'll certainly stop in every time I pass through the area.

Our group of 10 toured with Grover. He was knowledgeable, interesting and fun. We enjoyed seeing the "behind the scenes" and learning the history of the distillery. The tasting was a great way to end the experience and an even better way to decide which bottles we all wanted to purchase! I would recommend this tour for sure and bring all of your friends- such a fun kick off to a night out!

What a fun experience for out of towners and visitors alike! Our tour guide was knowledgeable, kept the tour fun and we definitely got our money worth with tasting (>5 different bourbons) on the approximately 45 min-1 hr tour. Would highly recommend.

I’ve been on lots of tours and they’re all pretty much the same, but the tour guide we had at New Riff was exceptional. You could tell he was very passionate about the product and just whiskey/bourbon in general. I would come back.

Grover gave us.an excellent tour..his attitude was fantastic and you can tell he enjoys his job. The tasting was exceptional and we shall be back.

Everything was good. We got to sample 4 different bourbons and a gin. Got a short tour which is really all you need. It's a small place. My only problem was when I bought our tickets online for $20.00 each for the bonded tour, it stated that we could use our ticket price on any item $25.00 or more. They would NOT honor that. The guy said they had dropped it down to $10.00. I pulled up the website that showed the bigger discount. It's bad business to have something in print and not honor it.

Grover was an amazing guide. No question was too big or small to ask. His explanations were easily understood, and he was very personable and engaging.

This was our second tour after taking friends several years ago and it was excellent - we learned a lot more this round. Eric is an outstanding tour guide and the format of tasting along the way was a nice change of pace from most other distilleries. Having the beautiful bar available afterwards is also a fun add. Our friends from both tours have become rye drinkers after tasting New Riff's!

Had a nice tour yesterday with our guide, Eric! Definitely worth checking out. It was unique to see a distillery that is built right there in the middle of the city and they explain the reason why on the tour. Also, check out the Party Center next door!

My wife bought this for me and her dad as a Father's Day gift, and we were able to go on it several weeks later. This was our first bourbon tour, and I'm so glad she got this for me! Such a fun experience!

We took a tour of the distillery and greatly enjoyed our experience with our guide, Grover! Highly recommend a stop if you want to learn more about Kentucky Bourbon and the column distiller with an experimental spin.

The tour was jam packed with information, show casing the establishment and it's history from the beginning to present. Enjoyed the tasting immensely. My husband and I have different tastes and we found something for both of us. We'll return in the future!

This tour was an amazing look into the distilling world. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable right down to the flavor profile of each spirit.

Stuart, our guide, was probably the most informative guide I have experienced. Five stars was earned because of him. Unfortunately, the normal tasting area had an event going, so we had to stand in the barrel room. Still fun, but would have been nicer to be seated. Enjoyed all of the bourbons and found we loved them all! It's great to see a private owner enjoying great success. Parking was easy. $20 for the tour was okay. I'm used to Buffalo Trace for free 😉.

Dan was our tour guide and he did an excellent job. Very friendly and answered all questions without hesitation. Grover was also on site and was fun to talk to and seemed to enjoy his job. The brewery is similar to smaller breweries (think Barrel House) located on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. So convenient that it is located near restaurants and the riverfront.

New Riff is one of my favorite new bourbons, and I was excited to take this tour. It did not disappoint. Grover was an excellent guide, and it was nice to have samples along the way. It was nice to get behind the scenes of what this exciting new distillery is doing!

We did the Bottled and Bond Tour with Grover as our tour guide. He did a great job...he was very knowledgeable and very entertaining. We were able to try four samples of bourbon upon completing the tour. The bar has some signature drinks or you can get a flight. I got a flight of the three SiB options available. I then had an Old Fashioned...all where great. Great job and see you in September for a barrel pick!

My wife and I took a tour recently and had a great time. Our tour guide, Grover, was very knowledgeable and had a wonderful personality. Having toured several distilleries on the Bourbon Trail, we were impressed by the things that made this new bourbon maker unique. We highly recommend you include New Riff when in the area, and if possible take one of Grover's tours.

Grover was an awesome tour guide! We learned so much an had a great time! Be sure to stay and have some cocktails in their distillery as well. Hands down some of the best I've ever had.

Was out on business to Kentucky. Glad a friend recommended this place for the whiskey. Great staff, beautiful place and even better spirits! Loved the Rye and the Single Barrel. I don’t enjoy gin but I learned to appreciate it there and even liked the two they made.

Amazing to see a distillery very well planned in the given space. The tour was great, our guide was super friendly and knowledgeable. We got to try 6 different type of whisky/bourbon throughout the tour (vs. other distilleries that provide the liquor at the end), while the process was explained. Unfortunately, they did not have anything being produced, fermented, etc at the moment which robbed from the whole experience. We were a small group (maybe 12 people). They gave us an ear set and an audio set. The cost was very reasonable for the experience. It lasted an hour.

We loved the tour and the bourbon was great. It is nice that this distillery is so near Cincinnati. We sometimes bring friends here before dropping them off at the airport.

Tasting was throughout the tour. Lots of interesting facts. Eric or tour guide was very informed and engaged with us many times during the tour.

Had a great tour with LA! She is super passionate and knowledgeable about the spirits. Probably the best and most fun tour we have had.

I had a great time with Grover, my guide. I didn't realize that New Riff ground its own grain and that the rye came from Germany. Top to bottom it was a great tour and finished with a great tasting. Looking forward to some longer aged Bourbons in the future. Keep up the great work.

Grover (tour guide, brand ambassador) was terrific, my family (children over 21) had a great time on the tour. Besides explaining the entire process very simply, he was open to any and all questions (even easy ones like mine :) ). Entertaining and very informative, what more could you ask for? The tasting at the end offered an excellent view of the entire line of whiskeys, including some distillery-only releases (which you have a chance to pick up in the gift shop). I would highly recommend this tour!

Our daughter treated us to distillery tour at New Riff and it was an absolute hoot! Our guide has worked at New Riff since it opened and was incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of distilling as well as incredibly personable. From the ground-floor introduction, we went up one flight to the fermenting rooms and got to see 6000 gallon barrels of whiskey, which initially starts as beer, at different stages of the fermentation process. The newest, least fermented batch was hot and bubbling, which really surprised me! Then we got to see the six story still, an amazing construction of copper, and learned how the natural aquifer beneath New Rid
Fr feeds the whiskey through the entire process of production. From there, it was up a flight to try five or six samples of New Riff's best. Really delicious. This was a great experience worth and checking out. You get a $10 discount on a $25 spend in the gift shop, too.

We were a party of 7, with 3 generations of our family. We very much enjoyed the tour,and especially Stuart, our tour guide. We were able to sample 3 different drinks.

Fun tour. They had tastings as you walked through the distillery, which was different than some tours. Our guide, whose name I forgot, was knowledgeable and friendly, and he was a good spokesperson for New Riff. The bar, where they ended the tour, had a nice atmosphere and good cocktails. Good gift shop, too!

Tour was very in depth and a very cool look behind the scenes of the distilling process. Tour guide was awesome!

We were driving by and saw this Distillery so we decided to try it. Went up to the rooftop bar which is called Riff Top lol. Both my husband and I tried flights of bourbon. The bartender who assisted us was amazing and she was very knowledgeable and offered terrific suggestions. We sat outside and enjoyed an amazing view and nice different Bourbons. Would recommend if you're looking for a fun and relaxing place to kick back and enjoy the scenery

He was so knowledgeable about New Riff but also shared the history of bourbon and prohibition and how the rules were established. He catered to his guests and brought jokes and laughter. The tastings were also great. Got to try different bottles of New Riff bourbon and even their gin. I highly recommend this tour.

I planned a surprise birthday, day for my boyfriend and his brother since I had to work all day. New Riff was the second place on the docket for a tour. As a local I have never toured but I figured the boys would enjoy it. I’m kinda bummed I missed out cause they had nothing but awesome things to say and even bought a bottle and bow tie! I will definitely be making a trip to tour myself! Thank you, New Riff!

The tour started at noon. Grover was out guide and the enthusiasm for his employer and their product was infectious. He had an in depth knowledge of the subject. I do not like Rye Whiskey, but their variety made me a convert! I also enjoy the gin--very floral and spicy. It is no wonder that they have received blue ribbons in the competitions that they have entered. It was a great tour.

We really enjoyed the distillery tour and tasting. The group size was smaller and intimate and we felt like we had the full experience because of that! Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining and was a resource for questions asked! It was a great afternoon!

What a great experience seeing the unique process the New Riff takes. The facility is probably the cleanest we've seen so far and the tour was pretty thorough without becoming boring or redundant. Be ready to spend some money because once you do the tasting you're going to want to grab a bottle...or three. Even if you don't, they credit part of your ticket price for the tour towards the gift shop and I don't think I've seen any other distillery do that. They really are forging their own path at New Riff.

We visited New Riff last month on our trip to the Cincinnati area. We have toured many distilleries throughout Kentucky and other status. Can't say this tour gave me any new information. The bottling is in a separate location so we were only able to go in a couple places for the tour itself. The guide had a lot of knowledge of the process but I can't say there was much to make the tour stand out from other distilleries visited. The tasting was very good however with the single barrel ryes being the standout. We purchased two bottles.

We were on our way home from Dayton and made a short stop at New Riff. We had a great time on the tour and tasting at the end.

We visited and took a tour Of New Riff that was right across the street from our hotel. The building is very unique and modern inside and outside. The staff was super friendly. Our tour guide was Grover, an awesome guide who was very knowledgeable and friendly. He made the tour a fun experience. At the end of the tour we had a tasting of 5 of their products, bourbon and gin. Unlike other distilleries, the pours were very generous. We purchased a couple bottles of bourbon to take home. We will return and we recommend New Riff Bourbon to all bourbon fans. I rate this a 10 out of 10 on my scale.

Awesome tour! I’ve came here before in January and toured with Grover and recently With Dan. These guys know their stuff and know how to make a tour fun ! Very informative, very intuitive and very engaging. Oh and the drinks were flowing lol

Wonderful tour guide and very informative. It was distracting and loud when new people arrived for an event there where we were sitting during the first segment of our tour. We had booked for four people and my 87 year old dad became ill and couldn’t come. They agreed to refund his tour fee but then said their computer wouldn’t do it. Disappointing. However, the bourbon is very nice!

Had a great tour of New Riff this past weekend. Grover was the ideal tour guide, super knowledgeable, fun and down to earth. The tastings were excellent, ended up buying bottles we wouldn’t have even considered without the tasting experience. Definitely recommend making time for the tour if you’re in the area!

Awesome place to visit and take a tour for both Whiskey (Bourbon) lovers and those who are not. Our Ambassador (Tour Guide) Grover was delightful, funny, and informative. Kept the group laughing and entertained the whole tour. Never a dull moment with him. The tour ended with a personalized tasting of their award winning Whiskey. I personally recommend their Single Barrell Bourbon.

My friend and I share the same birthday. This year we visited New Riff with our wives in our normal pirate attire. You see our birthday falls on Talk Like A Pirate Day, so we take the day off from work, dress and talk like pirates and goof off all day. Grover was our guide and we all enjoyed him and I think he enjoyed us as well. Anyway it was a great tour with lots of tastings!

New Riff is a smaller bourbon, rye and gin distillery. Aside from liking their product (a lot - lol) the distillery is a great attraction and a fun way to spend 3 - 4 hours. The building is brand new and purpose built, not a renovation. Lots of glass so you can see the process right from the parking lot or street. A warm, happy, inviting atmosphere from the minute you walk in the door. The open space for the gift shop, liquor sales and tasting bar are warm and inviting. The tour is fantastic - the guides are funny but serious and go to the right level of detail when explaining the bourbon making process.

Tour size was just right at about 15 people - everyone could see everything - no getting stuck at the back of a crowd and missing out.

Highly recommend New Riff for the tour, the atmosphere and of course, the product!

I’ve been anxious to visit since I first tried the flagship BiB bourbon a few years ago. I was able to make a quick trip downtown and visit and was very glad I did! The tour is good, and the tasting along the way enjoyable. The bar at the end was a nice way to end it and a way to enjoy expressions that you would otherwise never get

One of the newer distilleries on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, housed in a very modern facility. Nice well stocked store and a little bar for flights and bourbon cocktails. Best distillery tour on our Kentucky vacation, by far. Incredible whiskey, and Grover was by far the best ambassador and guide we met along the way. A+ experience!

We were in Cincy for a weekend getaway and we decided it would be fun to do a tour. We were not disappointed! Our guide was entertaining and very knowledgeable. I know nothing about bourbon, but now I know all sorts of useless facts! Such as there are more bourbon barrels than people in the state of Kentucky! It was great and I would definitely recommend it!

I live close to Cincinnati and my girlfriend and I have made trips to Louisville for distillery tours. However, it turns out one of the best is right on my doorstep. New Riff had one of the most charismatic tour leaders, and an interesting look at what is essentially a brand new distillery. Much more hands-on than other tours we've been on. Definitely recommend, especially if you don't have time to go closer to Lexington or Louisville for a Bourbon tour.

Not a bourbon person? New Riff also has excellent gin and rye. You can also go literally next door to one of the largest liquor stores in the USA.

We were very impressed with. Grover's knowledge of the products and the distilling processes. You get to walk through the production areas and look inside the tanks.
The sampling of different products allows one to really differentiate their tastes. The gift shop has unique items besides bottles of bourbon.

My wife, my parents, and I went on a tour during fickle October weather day. We had hoped to do more tastings on the Bourbon Trail, but post-COVID-19, every distillery's tour schedule was booked into the next year. Luckily, New Riff had some tour availability, and we were not disappointed!

After seeing the New Riff facilities, hearing Grover's expert explanations, and tasting the spirit-fruits of their labor, I can only say this: I've new appreciation for ryes, bourbons, and the prowess that goes into producing fine spirits efficiently.

My daughter treated us to a cocktail making class at New Riff Distillery and it was a blast. For this class, New Riff partnered with Rhinegeist Brewery to make summer shandies with a twist. There were four of us at each table fully stocked with all the bar supplies we could possibly need, as well as bourbon, Rye, gin, juices, syrups, lemons, limes, mint, cilantro, ice and an incredible array of bitters. A generous charcuterie tray was available to help us line our stomachs before we got started. The New Riff staff walked us through making our first two cocktails and the Rhinegeist representative told us how the different beers - Wowie, Huss, Peach Dodo, Swizzle and Hang 6 - could compliment our drinks. For our final drinks, we worked together with our table partners in a Chopped-style competition to make a cocktail that would wow the judges. Totally recommend this fun, entertaining and educational experience.

The thing I really liked about this tour, was the distillery is relatively small and our tour group was small. That allowed the tour to get pretty close to the production and Dan, our guide, to interact with the group and answer questions throughout the tour. My favorite part was there were tastings of New Riff products throughout the tour, and not just at the end.

This was our first distillery tour, and Grover did an excellent job as our guide. Having done a number of craft brewery tours, it was especially interesting to see the similarities and differences between the two. My FAVORITE part was the fermenting...that wonderful, sweet, grainy, yeasty, fermenty smell and the bubbling cauldron action and sound...I found that room to be heavenly.

Riff's has some great single barrel bourbon's each with their own distinct flavors. Tried three and each were really nice.
Love this small craft distillery. Also had a couple of cocktails each were very good. The bartender was super friendly and offered some great recommendation. Riff's, you have some great juice.

Wonderful experience. The tour was great, very informative on what makes New Riff special. On top of that, the atmosphere of the whole place was top notch. While attempting the KBT - this place makes me want to hang out at their whiskey library the whole time.

I had a great time learning about this nice bourbon made right in my backyard of Newport Kentucky. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, fun and laidback. I sampled 3 different types of bourbon (straight, rye and single barrel) and received a thorough explanation of the differences between the three. The facility was very clean and the tour relaxing. I recommend this tour to anyone interested in bourbon.

The tour was outstanding! Our guide (Dan) was very knowledgeable and has a great personality. We got to sample 5 different bourbons and got to see all of the facility. I highly recommend anyone to visit New Riff. The entire staff was welcoming and so friendly! This was a trip for my son and myself and we will definitely be back soon.

My son got married last Saturday night in the ceremony room and their reception was upstairs. New Riff really did nice job. The reception room or whatever it’s called, was wonderful! The staff was also great! Great decision by my son and daughter-in-law to choose New Riff.

Having done a few distillery tours, New Riff hits all the marks. Grover provided a fun history of the company, a detailed tour of the whisky making process, and an overall experience that was both informative and welcoming. It also doesn't hurt that NR produces a solid product in the bottle.

Grover is a great guide. He is entertaining and provides much insight into the New Riff history and process. I highly recommend the tour and tasting! You are sure to leave with some delicious treasures.

The Bonded Tour was amazing. Eric was very informative and to see the distilling process and the steps it takes to make New Riff bourbon was fascinating. All the samples we tried during the tour were so good!

Fairly certain this is the ONLY tour, of all KY distilleries, that provides samples DURING the tour! Better yet, the samples are spotlighting bottles that ARE available in the gift shop! New Riff is one of the newer Kentucky bourbon distilleries, but they have a great tour and showcasing of their award-winning products. I am not a rye drinker, and I even enjoyed their rye!

Great tour. Guide, Kevin, was knowledgeable, great with answering questions and had a laid back style. Tastings along the way, enjoyable. Stayed at the bar at the end of the tour and enjoyed a flight and a light bite. Definitely recommend. Easy to find and park.

I took my nephew and niece for there maiden voyage to a distillery. The employees are knowledgeable and friendly. We did the tour and tasting. Our guide was exceptional, I just wish I could remember his name. Top marks.

The tour guide was awesome. He actually let us try a few extra tastings. Would totally do this again. In fact, we stopping by the largest liquor store in America today that is conveniently located right next to them.

For a novice bourbon drinker, this was a great first step. Our tour guide showed us everything from start to finish. Then explained the intricacies of the bourbon. Loved it and will definitely be back.

It was my first trip to the New Riff. I walked out with 6 six different variety options. I just came for (one Rye). I got their and decided that I’d go for it and find out from the 6 the one I would prefer the most by getting them all. I’ll be sure to report back. My hunch is that I will like them all. Thank you!

I recently took the bonded tour with Grover. I always enjoy taking tours at distilleries like this, as the passion about the product is very evident. Grover was very knowledgeable about the distillery and the product and provided insight into what makes New Riff unique in what is produced. I had never tried New RIff prior to my visit, and was pleasantly surprised by the bourbon and rye sampled at the end of the tour.

Great way to spend a rainy afternoon while traveling. Was on a business trip and the team I was auditing suggested New Riff. The tour was both educational and fun. I learned quite a bit about New Riff and bourbon and rye. The tastings throughout the tour was wonderful. The bar upstairs was full of folks drinking and eating. The whole building is warm welcome and inviting. I ended up buying some single malt for Christmas presents.

We took the day off on a Wednesday and arrived just after opening. We asked about a tour and were lucky enough to be the only ones!

Dan gave our tour and it was awesome! There are definitely benefits to being the only visitors in the place! Dan is a great tour guide and really knows his stuff.

Grover was my tour guide. I was fortunate to be the only person on a mid-week tour. He was very knowledgable and a great, entertaining speaker. First time to visit a distillery so it was very interesting. All the whiskey was great but I thought the malted rye was the best.

It is a must tour distillery. Groover made the tour very memorable. Fun and filled with history of New Riff and the bourbon industry. He has a fantastic personality. We LOVED the bottled and bond Kentucky straight bourbon and a close second was the single barrel rye.

Although I am not a fan of bourbon, this wasn't half bad and the rye whiskey was fantastic. We didn't make it in time for a tour but glad we could order a sampler. The new fashion was to die for. We loved the naming of drinks on your summer list. Staff manning the bar was fantastic and provided us with other places to visit.

The tour was great fun (ask for Grover) and everyone was so friendly and knowledgeable! Great bourbon, rye, and gin too.

We didn't do the tour, just got our stamps and visited the bar for a tasting. The best New Riff has great store and club pics! This place is somewhat modern. If you like the the more modern facility, this will be your gig. We tend to like the more historical places. Good experience just nothing to write home about.

Eric led our tour and he was great. I’ve taken a lot of distillery tours, so I’m hard to impress. I was impressed. Fun tour, great bourbons. A must-stop on the Bourbon Trail. I won’t tell which release is my favorite because then y’all will buy it all up! 😀

Visited New Riff on Sunday, 10/13 for a noon tour. Our guide was Steve, who is very knowledgeable of the Bourbon and of New Riff's operations. At the end of the tour the tasting was offered, and you get to enjoy the Bourbon!! My current favorite is New Riff Single Barrel, a sweet, full-bodied Bourbon with a wonderful, spicy kick! It's a mash bill of 65% corn, 30% rye, and 5% malted barley, and is a must try for the Bourbon enthusiast !!
Note: At the start of your tour you may receive a small wooden token. This token is worth a $10 discount (the cost of the tour) on a bottle purchase from New Riff. This, to me, is well worth the tour and your learning experience !! Also, try a Bourbon cocktail in the lounge at the front lobby before you leave!!
Not a great place for large group tours and here's why: The distillery has a significant amount of machinery and is somewhat noisy being a working distillery. It is therefore sometimes difficult to hear the tour guide and to negotiate some of the small rooms you may enter. Small groups work much better.
If I have any particular suggestions for New Riff, it would be to move the tasting off of the back dock and perhaps into the large reception hall on the second floor of the facility. A loading dock is no place to hold a tasting experience for the customer,

Great start to our Bourbon Trail. Very passionate guide who was energetic and informative about New Riff. A newer distillery with a short but interesting history. A very nice gift shop with a solid selection of whiskey.

This is the best distillery tour you can go on comparing it to many! Our guide Dan was an incredible host, not saying he made the tour but I couldn’t have imagined it with anybody else. If you enjoy drinking what your learning about New Riff absolutely needs to be at the top of your list! No waiting till the end like many tours leaving you empty handed through the journey to finally give you a taste at the end. I highly recommend the Bonded Tour and Dan as your guide!

New Riff has a nice bar snd visitors center. Grover is an enthusiastic tour guide with a great sense of humor. He answers all questions. We began the tour outside. Unfortunately, I could not hear everything Grover was saying due to the construction noise. The inside tour was nice. Grover did a nice job of leading us through the tasting.

The staff was super friendly and very informative. The tour was just the right length with good information and plenty of tastings. The third floor bar area is very cool looking with a great outdoor area.

The tour was very professional and chock full of helpful information about the process. I had a great time, tasted delicious Bourbon and learned a bunch too. I appreciated that I was able to taste a bunch of things throughout the tour. This was better than drinking everything at the end, which is the sad experience in most Distilleries. Not here! My guide was friendly and helpful, and his passion came through!

Excellent tour! New Riff distilles rye whiskey that is not normally what I drink but this was really good. Definitely worth a visit!

I’ve been to about half a dozen distillery tours at this point, and this is the single best one. It isn’t a simulation, where you walk through a hallway and watch through windows.

You actually walk through the plant, avoiding pipes and equipment, and they are completely open for taking pictures or answering questions.

Additionally, the tasting is broken up along the tour, so you can see how what you’re tasting relates to the process.

I’ve long thought that it’s not worth doing more than one tour in a day, because it’s so similar and runs together. I would now suggest that you go see New Riff and then not bother with the rest. It won’t get any better.

We had a great time learning about all the processes in making New Riff Bourbon. The tastings were great and the tour guide was amazing. I am a native Kentuckian and brought some friends in from out of town. We were all impressed with the tour and tastings. Highly recommend the New Riff Tour, and their bourbon.

This facility, the presentation, the people and the spirits were all top notch. We enjoyed learning about both the history of the owner and the distillery. Our tour guide was informative, friendly and a great presenter.

Did the tour of the distillery on 10/10/2021. Fun little tour. Tastings were offered at the end of the tour. Note, most of their product is triple digit proof, so it's on the strong end of the spectrum. They are currently expanding their building and increasing production. Masks are required during the indoor portion of the tour, and tour sizes are limited. You'll need a reservation through their web site. They require some waivers, but you can do that on site the day of the tour.

Good tour but you could hardly hear Grover over the blaring music at the start of the tour. His little amplification device is not very efficient. This is definitely a bummer as you can hear his narration.

10/10 distillery with 10/10 bourbon. If you’re looking for an informative and engaging distillery tour, ask for Eric. His passion and expressiveness made the tour very engaging and entertaining from beginning to end. He is an incredible storyteller and provides such detailed description of the history of New Riff and the distilling process- I just wish I could remember everything he said! The Aquifier is a stunning bar with the most delicious bourbon cocktails and great vibes. Highly recommend!

My son and I were rounding out a long weekend of doing the 'Bourbon Trail' in Kentucky. This was our ninth distillery. The facility is very compact, compared to most. So the tour is short and sweet with very little walking. The tour guide was wonderful and really knew her stuff. But the number one reason to do this tour is to be able to sample their products. This was our second favorite distillery product line (number one was Buffalo Trace). Excellent, smooth recipes.

It was a mid day experience when the weather was bad so this was a fun way to not waste the day! Grover our tour leader was phenomenal and made the experience really fun!

My husband and I came to Cincinnati and found the distillery while looking around. I’m not a whiskey girl and after the tour with Grover I did find that I liked their single barrel bourbon! Grover was amazing he knows his stuff and made our trip there tons of fun!!!

I took an out-of-town guest who has never been to a distillery on a Wednesday. I thought we will be alone on the tour but there were about 10 of us (good size group). The guide was energetic, friendly and knowledgeable and most important - generous in pouring samples :) at the end of the tour.

Grover was our tour guide and he was absolutely amazing the entire time we were there. His love for what he does, as well as his love for New Riff is clear.

New Riff is just that. A new riff on the bourbon experience. It is hip and not grandiose. But they do come with clout. Originally a production facility that worked with Angel’s Envy, they now have their own product line in a trendy neighborhood across the river from Cincinnati.

Alas, it is a great after work watering hole on the way home. They even do cocktails, and they share a parking lot with the iconic Party Source chain. It makes me want to live in this area.

We have seen New Riff on visits to the Party Source for several years but had not gotten the chance to visit until this spring. The bourbons and rye whiskeys that they are producing are very good and the whole tour was highlighted by our guide, Grover. He was knowledgeable and fun and presented a very nice tasting experience at the end of the tour. I would highly recommend taking the time for a tour when in Newport.

Very nice venue for a medium sized group. Up to about 175. It is an easy access location with ample parking. Overall service was very good. Food was above average but not spectacular. Restrooms were clean. They distill there own whiskey which I considered average. But that is subjective.

Have lived in Cincinnati for three years. This was by far one of the best experiences here! You get a generous tasting, great detailed fun tour, and view from the bar on top is worth coming alone. Grover is a great guide!

Excellent brewery with a fascinating backstory. We did the Bonded Tour, and absolutely loved our tour guide, Grover. He was extremely knowledgeable, entertaining and passionate. Our tour group of six was masked and socially distanced throughout, and was able to do an outdoor tasting on the rooftop.

New Riff's ryes and bourbons are amazing--make sure to try the single barrel bourbon if you get the chance! I also love their limited edition Black is Beautiful bottle :) Highly recommend!

We stopped in for a quick visit and tasting about 15 minutes before their closing time. Everyone we talked to was great to talk to and we enjoyed the visit. We had time for a tasting and having never tasted New Riff offerings made for an enjoyable experience. We appreciated them allowing us to park our car in their lot while we took the Southbank Shuttle to and from the Cincinnati Reds vs. St. Louis Cardinals baseball game. I am looking forward to visiting again when we have more time.

This wonderful man is a top-notch tour guide….deep knowledge of the distillery and process, a palpable excitement for the distillery and what they’re doing there and one of the most personable people I’ve ever interacted with!

I have toured many distilleries on “the Trail” over the past few years and I can tell you: Absolutely add this to your list of “must go’s”!
Great tour, awesome backstory, WONDERFUL spirits and you leave with an excitement and anticipation of, “what’s coming next from here?”?!?! Enjoy your visit if you go!!

Grover was a very entertaining host and the samples at the end of the tour were superb. What New Riff lacks in history and beautiful grounds, it more than makes up for with good quality whiskey.

I highly recommend hanging around in the bar after the tour and sampling the excellent New Fashioned cocktail.

This was a fun and informative distillery tour. The tastings happened throughout the tour, and each person had a headset to hear the tour guide well. We finished on the top-level bar with one of the best old fashions I've ever had.

Been on other distillery tours and this one definitely one of the best. Not a giant fan of New Riff products overall (but I did discover a rye I’m fond of) but the overall experience was well worth it. Our tour guide, Eric, was extremely knowledgable and you got multiple tastings along the way and not all at once at the end. Staff at check in and gift shop very friendly and there is a nice bar upstairs. Great stop on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail!

Grover was an excellent tour guide an I was shocked at how bold an flavorful the bourbon was for it to be such a new company! Unbelievable! I will go back again several times. I have been a bourbon drinker for 14 years and this is my favorite to drink neat!

We took the New Riff Bonded Tour and loved it. The tour had something for everyone: tastings, process, Ingredients, history, trivia and even a little it of organic chemistry! Grover, our tour guide, really knows his product and the pride shines through. The tour included radio and earphones so everyone could hear. It was cool! Book the tour.

From the minute we walked in the door Grover made us feel welcome. He gave us a great tour and kept away from the normal shtick you hear at all the other distilleries, very informative to their product, which by the way is quite good. Great stop right in the parking lot of one of the largest party store’s you’ll ever find.

New Riff was the first of 9 distilleries (Boone County, Bluegrass, James E. Pepper, Barrel House, Town Branch, Woodford, Four Roses & Wild Turkey) me and my future son-in-laws visited on a two day trip! Out all of them we visited New Riff topped the list! The staff was very friendly and our tour guide, Grover, was awesome and very informative and educational!.

If you are a Bourbon drinker and are looking to hit the trail this summer....You Have To Stop by New Riff...you will not be disappointed.

Had a wonderful tour and tasting with my family while they were in town for the weekend. I would argue this is a must do on a bucket list for folks visiting the area. It is a very approachable tour for those who know nothing about bourbon, too. Thanks for such a great time!

Impressed before I even walked in the door. That still in the front is unbelievable. Inside we were greeted with kindness. Came in right before the next tour which was sold out but we got added anyway. The tour took you through how the spirits are made and even saw some yeast eating away. Then we got to sample after we got an education on bourbon. Fantastic all around. A must visit if you are in Northern Kentucky or Cincinnati.

Grover was an outstanding tour guide best seen to date! There’s not a better tour or better whiskey in the state.

We set up a tour to celebrate my husband's birthday with extended family. Eric, our tour guide, was excellent and very well versed on the distilling process and the company's history. We loved the fact that the tasting was broken up and enjoyed along the tour route vs. all at the end. Although, we did end our outing on a high note with drinks at New Riff's stunning bar on the top floor. New Riff is definitely one of Greater Cincinnati's must-see attractions.

We did a 2pm Bonded tour. Our guide was Grover and he was a blast. He is very passionate and knowledgeable about their bourbon. It was enjoyable to have tasting shots throughout the tour. Visit the top floor bar after your tour and try a New Fashion (incredible).

An amazing tour of a great distillery! Our tour guide, Eric, was very knowledgeable and made our tour fun! A great time with multiple great Bourbon tastings!

Grover was excellent!!! He is a wealth of knowledge on the distilling process, history and bottled-in-bond. Great sense of humor too. Never change sir! We WILL be coming back for more for sure. Also, the juice was impeccable!

The distillery sits alongside a parking lot near the huge Party Source retail liquor outlet. It's not what you'd expect once you go inside. Very nice bar greets you at the entrance with the distilling equipment behind adjoining glass walls. We went on a weekday and took the one hour tour for $10 per person. (You get a $10 credit on any purchases you want to make in the gift shop.) It was just the two of us with the guide so we felt like we really got the personal touch. It was fascinating to see, smell, and hear the story of the process and the history of this particular distillery. They source the water from right under the parking lot! We tasted multiple generous samples, and we took home a bottle of one of our favorites. Definitely a good way to get the bourbon experience without traveling too far from Cincinnati.

The tour was great and we enjoyed being able to taste along the route as we toured. Our tour guide was great! We didn't leave enough time to enjoy the bar afterwards - beautiful setup - but next time! Very good product too!

Visited and did the bonded tour. Fantastic experience, knowledgeable staff and delicious bourbon and rye. They are doing something special here. I’ve been a fan since I got a bottle of OKI years ago and have been buying a single barrel every time I travel to KY. It’s great to get to taste more than 3 things and actually be able to buy the single barrel picks and harder to find bottles IN THE GIFT SHOP!! Other distilleries should take notice. And they give you a $10 credit off your purchase when you take the tour. Believe me you will want to buy something! Keep blazing a New Riff!

We had a great time touring the distillery and enjoyed a great tasting at the end. The bourbon was great, exceeding our expectations, and we ended up purchasing several bottles. I highly recommend checking New Riff out, and stopping in Party Source next door!

Wonderfully knowledgeable tour guide. Great selection of tasting for the $20 fee - it was great value. Good range in the gift shop too and the bar on the top floor is so luxurious and gorgeous. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Excellent facility. Never drank much rye whiskey but have been converted. They really seem to care about what they are doing. Well worth the trip.

The tour was great...not your average tour though. I've been to most of the distilleries in KY but New Riff was my first Craft Distillery, so if you're wanting a ton of bourbon history, this is not the tour for you. The tour was very informative on how they do things and the facility was very cool. They have a bar with a few cocktails as well, which was very good. The only complaint I have is they don't have a dedicated tasting room. Their tasting room now is in what seems to be a storage facility and is not climate controlled. I was there on one of the hottest days of the year, so it was stifling in there. No AC and no fan. That's really not a reason for me to give less than an "excellent" rating, just be warned.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and our tour guide, Grover! Took the Hubby for a birthday surprise and he hasn't stopped talking about it yet!!

Grover was great! We really enjoyed him as our tour guide. Definitely get a drink or 2 there after the tour is finished.

The building is well organized. The third floor bar is comfortable and offers many New Riff expressions. It would be nice if they offered a half pour option, which would allow you to try more varieties.

The tour was interesting, particularly the origin and history of the brand. The tastings during the tour were nice. It was disappointing that the gift shop discount associated with the tour could not be applied to virtually everything that we wanted to buy.

Overall, we liked the Ryes better than the Bourbons.

Excellent tour, bourbon, and tour guide. Highly recommend! We tasted six bourbons, which is more than most others let you taste. You also get $10 off of $25 in the gift shop (so the tour ends up being free - which is wonderful).

The tour took you through every aspect of the process and you were right next to all the equipment. We even could put our had right over the tanks to feel the heat from the process. Grover was a great guide and the whole experience was very informative.

I have done the New Riff tour no less than half a dozen times. It’s a great tour to take out of town guests on to learn a little about bourbon and to hear the unique New Riff story.

The tour guides are enthusiastic and know their stuff.

It doesn’t hurt that New Riff makes some amazing bourbons and ryes.

Our tour guide was very informative and friendly. It was a nice change to do the tastings at different points in the tour, and the palate has time to recover before the next tasting. Their bourbons have really good flavor, and the company is only ten years old.

Went into taste some of their Bourbons, they were very good. Quite the variety and they were all good. They also have giin, but I am not gin drinker. Heard positive remarks about the gin.

I loved this tour of New Riff! Eric was our tour guide, and he did a great job of explaining the history behind the distillery, and the process that they use to make their bourbon and other spirits. We got to sit down for the history portion, which was nice because it was the longest part of the tour in one location. We also got headphones and receivers so that we could hear Eric well even when we were in the louder parts of the distillery. What makes this tour unique is that rather than getting the full tasting at the end, we got to sample different products throughout the tour! I really loved that! I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants a more “modern” distillery experience.

I surprised my husband with a tour & tasting for our anniversary, & the experience surpassed our expectations. The facilities were big, bright, & beautifully-designed, & we loved our tour guide, Grover. It was a little tough to hear him at times with the whirring of the machines, but we really liked the authenticity it brought to the tour. We’ve been to distilleries whose tours felt like a performance, & this one was much more our style. Grover kept it real, especially with the tasting afterward. We got to try 6-7 amazing selections, & Grover guided us through with enthusiasm & expertise. You can tell this guy knows, & is passionate about, the art & craft of distilling. We bought cool merch from the shop later on with a nice tour discount, & we would have stayed for a craft cocktail in the bar downstairs if we had the time.

Overall, an excellent way to spend the day in Newport, & some quality bourbon to boot. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately, we could not get one of the more "in depth" tours but enjoyed this "over view" and tasting of New Riff products. Our tour guide (whose name escapes me) was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Unless you are trying to visit as many distilleries as possible I would not necessarily go out of my way to visit but if in the area or you like New Riff products I would definitely plan to visit.

Of all of the tours we went on during our four day trip to Kentucky, this was our favorite. Grover was fantastic! He was engaging, informative and made the experience our favorite. This is a must stop on the Bourbon Trail!

New Riff was amazing from start to finish. It was a very cool place. Our tour guide was great, and all of the bourbon/whisky was very good and smooth. We've done about ten tours now, and New Riff was definitely top 3.

If you get the Tour Guide, Eric, be prepared for an amazing day filled with great knowledge and amazing drinks!!!!!!!!!

Tour was very educational and entertaining. Grover was our tour guide. It was very obvious he loves his job. Always engaging and enlightening. A must stop when you are in the area.

My Dad I Were in town to pick up my Ranger bottle and our experience was great! After picking up my bottle we did the distillery tour and had Grover as our tour guide. He did an awesome job and was very informative! We will definitely be back in the future!

This is a distillery you need to watch and grab some of its RYE while you can. Missed my ranger party (whiskey club) but traveled down for a visit on the bourbon trail northern. Great place and if you can attend one of their events, they are awesome.

Fun tour, great guide and tasting. Grover is a great brand ambassador- he's knowledgeable, entertaining and fun. The distillery has a good story, is more commercial than the other distilleries we visited before so was nice to see the differences. Tasting was great and gave a lot of details. Great Rye bourbon!

New Riff has a fantastic tour. We enjoyed hearing about the history and ingredient selection for the New Riff product line.

If you are a bourbon enthusiast, don't miss this distillery. Leave with a better understanding of New Riff and bourbon beginning to end. I've been to a few other distilleries on the Bourbon Trail. Quite a drive. New Riff is a great tour. The convenience of it being here in Newport, so close to Cincinnati, etc., is a great benefit. Dan, the tour host, was super. What an excellent representative he is for New Riff. Dan interlaced his narrative with local history, State and National connection in politics, etc., giving the listener an added insight of how this and other Kentucky bourbon distilleries got to where they are today. Nice cocktail bar there as well.

Grover the tour host was amazing, fun and entertaining. He made me understand what type of Bourbon drinking I am. Rye Bourbon is my favorite! Recommend this tour 100%

We had been here on many occasions but this was the first time we did the distillery tour. It was an informative tour with a great background story.

Grover is a wonderful tourguide, Very knowledgeable and he provides so much information into a one hour tour, while we are tasting the goods. Represents New Riff very well and makes me happy to know we have such a great home town distillery to be proud of. Well done

I had some time to kill in Cincy so I thought I’d go do the distillery tour.. I wish I had done it earlier! The setup, atmosphere, staff and the products are fabulous, as are the tasting flights and cocktails up stairs. I would highly recommend it for solo, couples, friends, business and parties. Or just come buy a bottle of their phenomenal bourbon.
