Feast for the eyes and the tummy

By budgetworthy |

What a great space. Loved the atmosphere. Loved the local sourcing. Great selection of food, desserts, and drinks. We split a chicken Caesar wrap because we knew we wanted dessert and a warm drink. Stauf's had great coffee and chai tea. Pistacia Vera had fabulous chocolate bomb and lemon tart. Would have loved to get some fresh bread but we just didn't have any place to stuff it. Donuts looked amazing also.

Adorable market

By Desiree |

We loved coming here! I wish there was more small shoppes/businesses instead of just eateries but it was still fun for something to do for those of us from out of town. Reminded me of Reading Terminal Market in philly except smaller and cleaner.
I think summer would be awesome with the outdoor spaces open as well!

Nice change

By MoMan |

Small. Several good and “different” dining options. Parking ample, and validated with any purchase. We tried the Somali food and it was outstanding.

Momos, spices and cheese!

By Elvira M |

Its a small market, but well balanced in the type of shops it has. I really enjoyed the tibetan veggie momos and got to "adopt" some little pieces in a cheese store. They have plenty of seating inside and outside to eat your food. There's a coffee shop (did not try) and the spice shop looked interesting.

wonderful market

By sherrymack70726 |

This market has a great variety of food and gifts. Lots of fresh from farm to market items. Friendly service and a fun place to explore

Eclectic, wonderful, total food sensation

By Brian E |

Wow this place rocks. They have all the stuff you’d expect from a market stall place with food, home wares, gifts , coffee, which was as good as any good coffee shop in Melbourne Australia. The doughnut place is awesome, the bakery is awesome, the sandwich shop was awesome. I can’t recommend it enough. We went twice just for the coffee. If you’re in Columbus do it but it closes at 7pm

Flavors from Around the World

By Gamingtildawn |

This market place is around the corner from the Columbus Convention Center. It has a parking lot in front of the market place or metered street parking. It is 2 levels with restrooms on second floor. When you walk into the market place the flavors and international smells hit you as you walk in the door. There are Greek, Polish, German, Italian, Indian and other ethnic vendors serving authentic dishes from their cultures. The must have is the Jenni’s ice cream. It has exotic flavors and ice cream that is so creamy and delicious. There are many other vendors selling a wide variety of products. There is plenty of seating to enjoy your eats. It is easy to spend a couple hours in this market. On the weekends, there are even more vendors with fresh from the farm delights.
Enjoy!

Love the Feel of This Place

By danielleeu9 |

Love the atmosphere here and the variety of foods available to choose from. Been here three times and never been disappointed. I've tried Brezel the pretzel place (sooooo good), Destination Donuts (they are pretty good), Dos Hermanos the Mexican place (really tasty), Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams (always great), and the Omega Artisan Baking where I have gotten bread to take home (their loaves are huge and taste great). There is also Katzinger's Little Deli which offers free pickles with your meal purchase (and my friends love that place)-I like that they have Dr. Brown's Root Beer since it is so hard to come by elsewhere. There is something here for anyone and everyone-and if you go on the weekends you can even park on the street for free (even if there is a pay meter they aren't enforced on the weekends)! Can't wait to go back again and try another place to eat in the market!

Interesting place to eat and visit!

By TrishA4 |

Ate dinner here three nights in a row while staying in Columbus. Many places to select to eat, with seating inside and out (weather permitting). Polish food, Greek/Arabic food, Italian food, bakery, donuts, ice cream, flowers, butcher shop, coffee shop, the list goes on and on! Enjoy!

A welcome sensory overload

By Jeremyka_11 |

"Something for everybody" is a cliche that's widely misused. Except when it isn't. The Market gathers amazing cuisines for whatever your global food preference may be at any moment. Frankly, you will overeat. A little of this and that. There really isn't a bad choice there based on my experience. Whether it be African, Mexican, Italian, Somali, German, etc. Its all here. The Market manages to be both noisy, yet soothing. A neat little trick. The artwork, history, and overall feel of the entire space is infectious. You may not need to go anywhere else for food if you're adventurous. Be sure to pick up some souvenir clothing while here. It's quite comfortable and makes for a good memory. So does the Market itself. Travelers will wish there were anything like it back home. Spoiler. There isn't. Bon apetit.

A nice place for a quick meal

By Danielle K |

North Market is a collection of restaurants and shops not far from the convention center and Nationwide Arena. My boyfriend and I were in town to see the Capitals play the Blue Jackets and decided to check it out. We were very pleased to see numerous vegan options (although we didn't get to try the Willowbeez during our short stay in town). At some places you can dine at a countertop at the outlet, or you can take your food to an upstairs seating area.

If you want a quick bite before an event at Nationwide Arena, North Market is a good place to go, but do keep in mind they close very early.

Love!

By Rebecca M |

This spot is the perfect place to go when you want a taste of local flavors! It’s great for families, dates or solo. There are many different restaurants under one roof so if you have different food tastes in a group, you will all be satisfied here!

Today I brought a friend and introduced her to the Jenis ice cream that is in the market. Because of course you cannot leave the market without trying!

Great place to browse and graze

By AZBugPhD |

Visited with son and daughter in law and had a wonderful time perusing the wide variety of items for sale. Would do it again.

Awesome Find!

By The_Texas_World_Travlers |

This market is located in the heart of Columbus and what a find! We were looking for some local markets and read about this place. All I can say is that the reviews don’t do it justice. Not because they are bad, but because it is SO good! We walked around it for at least 2 1/2 hours and could have probably done more.

We loved all the shops with food for days! To be totally honest, we probably ate at half while we were there (left stuffed!).

Next time we are in Columbus, we are going back.

Food, food and more food

By carenb_MA |

Huge assortment of food and baked goods. BBQ, Italian, Fish, asian foods, and then stalls selling pastries, hot sauces. Great place to go for a meal, but you could be in and out in less than an hour. Probably not worth a special trip, but this is located near the Nationwide Arena and the Convention Center, so eat here before the game.

Excellent Options

By Kristen D |

From my personal favorite shop that sells spices of every type imaginable to shop that specializes in olive oils and vinegars and the donut maker and foods from all over the world they have it all. Whether you're after an amazing pretzel or a lasagna or some of the beat macaroons in town. You will find it at the north market. A fun place to go with friends but also a nice peaceful place to go have some time to yourself. The north market has something for almost everyone. Im not sure its the best for toddler aged people but everyone else will find something they like.

Great Lunch Spot

By vegastraveler |

This was a great stop for lunch with easy access and inexpensive parking nearby. There are 20-30 venders selling various cuisines with a main dinning room on the second floor. Great for larger groups or couples.

Fun place to visit in Columbus

By Tripplanner-89 |

Tons of carry out eateries for every possible food craving. Unfortunately we stopped by well past the lunch hour. All we could do is look and smell the offerings and wish we had gotten hear before we ate. Found parking a bit difficult for visitors unfamiliar with the area. Still a fun place to visit. You can always take a calorie laden goodie back to the hotel/motel for later, yum.

A MUST do in Columbus

By Meredith |

Our family loves this market. There is too much to choose from. Definitely go hungry. We have never tried something we didn't like. From the Greek food, to the Polish food, and BBQ and donuts and ice cream and pastries and . . . I could go on and on and on. Parking can be a bit tough and so can finding a table but it is well worth the visit.

Cool....Cool....Cool...

By Joseph B |

There is a lot to see in this market. On the outside venders show of there craftsmanship. Inside is my favorite stuff....FOOD. You can get Polish food, Middle Easter/Mediterranean food, Asian food, Breed, fresh meat and fish, Cheese and sausage. I always bring a cooler and get cheese, prosciutto, and foie gras. DON'T FORGET YOUR COOLER!!!!!

Great selection of gifts, food, spices, meats and even Ice Cream!

By 34fordgal |

I love markets like this! My friends and I grabbed lunch at different places because we all wanted something different. I found this cool spice place where I picked up some spices for my pantry. There is a great Craft Beer place (wine too) and a great Ice Cream shop!

Great selection !!!

By Dheep M |

The place has a lot to offer..local vendors selling everything . If you want to eat the market has a great selection of food from all over the world.

Great Market

By L K |

Stopped in for lunch. Found Little Eater- it was delicious with fresh and hot choices. I had the broccoli frittata and the carrot soup. Both were home runs! Delicious!

Very Cool Place

By Mark M |

We visited for the first time in our wedding anniversary weekend. We loved the variety of international food. We loved the vibe. We look forward to a return trip.

Great lunch spot!

By akinom |

Great place. Lots of choices for food. BBQ is wonderful. The ice cream spot was a nice treat for the kids. We went on a Thursday while there was a convention in town but, it still wasn’t very crowded.

Great Food and Atmosphere

By Brycen G |

I went here one morning to get doughnuts. A friend recommended we go and so we did. The recommendation was well deserved, the doughnuts from Destination Donuts were thick, fluffy and delicious. I would get the chocolate decadence. We walked around and there are plenty of options for anyone who has any dietary restrictions. Would go back any day.

Fun, local, and fresh

By Thomas |

Very clean venue, not too crowded during lunch time. There is a large variety of vendors, but most are restaurant-style places. Overall, a fun place to get a bite to eat and grab some fresh food items.

Great place

By Jami M |

This place has everything you are looking for. Parking can be kind of difficult if you go during peak times. Don't forget to get your ticket validated inside.
From sushi to fresh cheese to pizza and Thai and chicken and waffles and jenis ice cream. Somebody really for everybody!

I indecisive person's worst nightmare

By Carey T |

I started with the pepperoni bread, ate that while I did circles for 15 minutes trying to decide what to eat. I made the wrong choice, but my beau went for the polish food which he professed his love to. I ate some cookies. I mean don't tell my sister because I will get in trouble for telling you that it is better than the market in Cedar Rapids, but who really goes to Iowa anyway?

Ecclectic choices of merchandise

By cloudindarkness |

The North Market is a must see if in the area. The selection and variety of stores and merchandise is pretty good. I enjoyed the atmosphere and all the merchants I interacted with were both nice and knowledgeable. Prices are reasonable and the wait time short.

wonderful!

By celia m |

What a wonderful huge market!! So much fun to walk among the booths and see all the food, all the prepared food is amazing. I LOVED the perogies!

Love love love North Market

By amanda410 |

I live in Louisville Kentucky. We have nothing like the north market there. My family lives in Columbus and I visit frequently. Each and every time I visit I also visit north market. Sometimes twice while I’m there. There is always so much to look at and try. And the food is great!!! So many different cuisines to see, smell and taste. And all the vendors are so nice.

Awesome market!

By James A |

North Market is great! Really quality vendors and great food. All great cities have an excellent foot market somewhere and Columbus is no exception. Make it part of your visit.

Nice selection of shops

By themanofec |

We visited two different times during our stay and tried a variety of shops and eateries. It is worth a stop just for the amount of food that you can take home with you.

So many choices!

By Tina M |

We were told that place was a must to visit on our trip. We were so glad we went. The ambience of the place is so cool and it was seriously so clean and tidy. So many options for places to eat - you'd have to go back daily to try them all. We really enjoyed it and would go back for sure.

North Market is My Favorite Spot in Columbus

By H. Luiz Martinez |

The North Market is a slice of Heaven in Columbus, Ohio’s Arts District. I can best describe it as a huge Big Box store full of the most-incredible gems of food at every square inch of the place. You can get everything under the Ohio sun there.
Highlights for me were the Fish Guys (you have to try their fresh clams), the Little Eater (the quinoa with cumin, corn, zucchini and black beans was so good, I re-created it when I got home!), Hot Chicken Takeover (the company gives so much back to their community) and Destination Donuts (you’d be surprised of just how delicious their flavor pairings could be like Butterscotch and Smoked Vanilla!) You can get Indian Food, Asian Cuisine, Italian Offerings, French Patisserie and Vegetarian Treats as well as Spice Rubs, Mini Meat Markets and Pantry Items. You can spend hours there eating everything! The Short North Food Market is a Must-Do Destination when you visit Columbus, Ohio!

eating through the market

By Wanderer |

Good selection of food. I tried pasta and ramen which were pretty good. However the clam chowder was without potatoes or clams just creamy soup. Most disappointing for $9 a bowl.

Do not overlook

By JCV |

My husband and I went inside the North Market and did not come out empty handed. Numerous foods are sold ranging from bread to coffee. There are different foods being made that smells so nice, just as soon as you walk in! Please give this place a try whenever in the Columbus area. You will not be disappointed!

Great Dining Variety and Atmosphere at North Market Columbus

By Vyshnavi Vennelakanti |

I have visited north market to get some dinner when I was in Columbus. I went there twice actually. They have a variety of food options to consider including Jeni’s ice cream! I got some pizza and some ice cream during one visit and enjoyed the food! Specifically the ice cream! On my next visit, I got food from Hoyo’s and it was very tasty too! There is an eating area one floor above with lots of chairs and tables. It closes at 7 PM (when I went there in August), so I had to check the timing a little carefully. It was easily accessible from my hotel by walk.

Recommended lunch place in downtown Columbus

By AJOhio |

The farmer's market is not here every day, but even on a regular day there are many food choices. My personal favorite is the Polish sausage and pierogie place although I have eaten at others and they are all great. The only downside is that it can be busy if there is a conference or event going on. Parking is in front of North Market or in a garage across the street.

Quick stop pre concert

By IrishgirlWV |

Great little market. Perfect to grab something to eat. Stopped in afternoon pre-concert at Nationwide.
Sorry for this honest review: Buckeye Doughnuts: I have had better doughnuts at a gas station. Don’t waste your time. Dry, with a funny aftertaste. I got the blueberry cake and the jelly filled with white icing. I think of myself as a donut connoisseur; literally, the worst donuts I’ve ever had.

somthing new each time I visit

By doearc |

I just love this place. It is so entertaining just to walk through the aisles and look and all the food and other things for sell. And the wonderful smells are free. This visit I noticed a new dining treat MoMo Ghar from the international market on the north side has a small storefront here. I had the pho from the vietnamese place, which never fails to delight me. The little eatery has an outlet here too and that is always a treat. Unless you want real sweet treats from the bakery, which we did. A really entertaining place to eat when everyone wants something different to eat.

Ooo La La

By Rebekah1994 |

My cousins took me to North Market on Monday to get breakfast! What an awesome place! Full of several different food vendors from an ice cream shop to delicious fresh pretzels - Indian, Polish, Belgium cuisine's are just a few different options you can chose from. We went around to all vendors before we decided on what to eat then proceeded to buy items for each vendor we wanted to try and shared it all between us! When I am back in Columbus I will be visiting this place again for sure!

the best place in the city

By EuropeanintheUS |

A great place to spend a few hours. Packed full of artisanal foodies cooking everything on-site. There was stuff here that I have only previously found in markets in Europe, definitely somewhere to go for lunch or to buy stuff for dinner.

Eat the goat at Hoyo’s Kitchen!

By Heather and Ryan |

What a great place! Rows of vendors with amazing ethnic cuisine! Everyone was kind and helpful.
The Somalian food is AMAZING and we had the best pierogi we’ve ever had.
Easy parking and lots of seating.

WAY more than a farmers market!

By krigold |

First time I entered the building I was blown away with what I found. Small shops, and restaurants offering an eclectic array of food choices, items for the home, even gifts for that someone's special occasion. Wish there was more seating to enjoy lunch and that it stayed open past 7 pm. You can walk from most of the downtown hotels.

Summer vacation

By Janet B |

Great market, the cleanest that I have seen. Open concept, with a roof, not open air. Great selection and great quality. Friendly staff. So many choices of food!

Felt European

By Randall S |

Greatly enjoyed the North Market. Four folks in our party chose four different cuisine for a very pleasant lunch experience. Plenty of stalls and booths featuring a wide variety of ingredients for home prep, etc. A good place to spend an afternoon browsing and sampling food.

Something to reconsider

By renzo_p_018 |

North Market in Columbus it's not claimed ad the World Famous Market but has a good name on Lonely Planet that warmly recomand it. Actually I didn't find it so charming: it's small and cozy but prices are too high to be a market.

A "Foodies" Paradise

By GrandpaJoeG |

As a confirmed “foodie”, I will go to great lengths to visit a market whenever I have the opportunity to do so. North Market is especially fun because of the amazing variety of culinary experiences available there: freshly prepared foods, wines, cheeses, olive oils, fresh meats and fish, breads and pastries, candies, and fresh produce are just the beginning of a very long list. Add the throngs of people enjoying themselves and the dozens of vendors proudly displaying and explaining their wares, and you get all the ingredients for an extraordinarily wonderful time.

Great food

By vicky e |

I love coming here and just eating around.they have coffee and any kind of food you want.its a circle so just start on one end and work you way around

Great variety

By aatbender |

My wife and I were in town visiting our daughter and she took us to this market. We loved the wide variety of shops. We were able to buy cocktails to go as we walked around, which was a big plus. We picked up some hot sauce and some wonderful olive oil at a couple different shops. We got some garlic naan at a nice Indian restaurant. Very well maintained. Will return.

Market visit during convention

By pugsjhpugs |

This was a great place to take our students. I loved seeing the different vendors and food options! Great place to find some souvenirs for my own children.

Great place for foodies

By RonL40 |

The market is a great place to fine all sorts of great foods, from meats and fish to sweets and coffee. Wonderful addition to the Columbus food scene. A must place to visit when you are in town.

A little bit of everything

By sunnysusie55 |

Can't decide what you want to eat for breakfast or lunch? Go to North Market. Oh my gosh you're gonna walk around until your head spins. There's so much to choose from. The smells are wonderful and most of the food is delicious. I say most because I haven't tried all. Barbecue is great for lunch. The artisan bakery is exceptional whether you have just a roll or a chocolate croissant or a ham and cheese croissant, you name it. Go and enjoy and experience it. You won't be disappointed.

So many fresh fruits, veggies and FOOD!

By Joy K |

I enjoyed my morning experience at the North Market exploring the shops and tasting the foods! It was clean and everything looked amazing! Wish I could have tried something from every shop!

Looking for quick good food ?

By Sebastien M |

Nice place with some local producers. Best if you look for something to eat quickly that is not fast food.

Great place to go if you want choices

By leftout |

Had been there years ago when they had just opened. We were visiting my daughter and Family in Bexley- she suggested going there. You have so many choices to choose from. The girls have a favorite donut place. There is a Oriental place that serves Vegan the daughter loves. We went to a Polish place- had the best potato pancakes. It's great there is a eating area on the 2nd floor if you want to eat in (we did).

Great place

By Matt S |

What a great variety of food places at the North Market...something for just about all tastes! Meals, coffee, dessert, sweets...just about anything you could ask for. I could easily see myself coming back here multiple times.

Yummy market with a fun vibe

By SongBird212 |

This indoor market features lots of delicious prepared food stalls where you can choose from many world cuisines, as well as cheeses, beers and wines and bakeries. The market is a fun place to sit down and eat your meal and enjoy a glass of beer or wine at the Barrel and Bottle shop. The only criticism I have was that there is only one fresh produce stand with high prices.

Amazing place

By dreferee |

Enjoyed exploring all the offerings here. Such an incredible array of places to eat. Just about any cuisine you can imagine and then some. Specialty shops as well. Reasonably priced adjacent parking if you make a purchase and get your ticket validated.

Great collection under one roof

By BHSWarrior |

The North Market offers alittle bit of everything! Easy, quick and clean! If you are at the convention center it is a one block walk and offers a ton of variety. Whether you want a donut, ice cream, wine, beer, a full meal, fresh flowers or gifts... Stop by.

Cool Place with many Food Options

By Peter A Morrell |

We were in Columbus for a conference and had a chance to go out for lunch after packing up our trade show booth. I had walked by the North Market and had a quick look inside. Our group decided to check out the North Market and have lunch there. The Market is an eclectic mix of many cuisines and you can try foods from local Columbus vendors. It is mostly a food market and provides food vendors and vendors selling edible items. There are many types of food to choose from and I settled on Colo Market and Oyster Bar for lunch. I had the lobster bisque that was made fresh that day and one of their sandwich specials, the Blackened Fish Sandwich. The sandwich was packed with flavour the fish was fresh and not greasy at all. The sandwich special came with a side of fresh-cut fries. Our group also ordered two dozen oysters. An overall great experience at the market and we all left with souvenirs to take home.

Great place

By Monica S |

A must visit in Columbus. Only downside is there is only great fresh veggies on the weekend. There are so many great restaurant vendors in the market. Great place for lunch, dinner, or breakfast donuts and waffles!

Great Diversity!

By Stacey B |

North market has something for everyone in your group or family! Please stop by Momo Ghar market for Nepal and Tibetan food! Pleasant surprise!

Wonderful place to explore

By triotrois |

Great different food and stores for all kinds of products. I love visiting here and just exploring. I always come home with something new and a new place to eat!
Indoors so it is warm and great to spend and hour or so out of the Columbus rain!

Something for everyone

By kathie l |

In the heart of Columbus downtown area you can just walk, grab a coffee, or buy breakfast lunch or dinner. All the vendors were so nice. Many things are made locally. Samples are available from a lot of places. If you are vegan they have that too. School kids on a field trip were next to me buying pizza. Lots of unusual desserts and local Julie ice cream and different types of beverages. Juices (100 percent) made on site. I loved the spice store too.

Something for everyone in your family! Delicious and inexpensive!

By wanderlust855 |

Reminded us of Florence Italy’s market! The only place you need to go for food! Make sure to get validation of parking if you park in the parking garage. Street parking is very cheap too. Something for everyone in the family! Recommend Hubert’s pierogies and potato cakes (make sure you get their hot sauce), Momo Ghar’s vegetarian dumplings, fox’s bagels, and bubbles tea and smoothie place. The fresh produce area also has homemade buckeyes! Enjoy!

Great for Lunch!

By Grace_Ferg_Travels |

Great spot for a quick bite with a ton of options and food selections from Ohio and Columbus. Highly recommend the home made pasta, wine selection, and pastries!

Desert time

By Fred B |

Boy howdy, this place is amazing.

There is such a selection of fresh and local prepared and fresh fruits, meats and vegetables. Just an amazing little spot to wander about and taste your way through desert.

Excellent cheeses, excellent everything.

Well worth looking up and taking your time.

A wonderful market in the Short North section of Columbus.

By Lee A |

We had a great lunch at Momo Ghar and then ice cream at Jeni's, both part of this indoor market. There were a lot of choices and we returned a couple day's later for a cold brew at Stauf's Coffee Roasters.

The smells are wonderful

By sandy4409 |

I think this place serves just about anything you can think of. Very diverse. Lots of vendors. My only complaint was the maze of orange barrels getting to it and the small parking lot. Also, had my ticket validated and still got charged to park!

Good places to sit

By Joe R |

I loved the fact that there were plenty of seating area, especially outside. There was free parking because it was the weekend. The food I had was just OK but I only had burger and fries. I still think the Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia is better at the end of the day.

Very nice place to get a good sampling of good food

By SVboy |

Place is very convenient and accessible. I really liked the firdous vendor. their food was very flavorful and true to their origins. Some of the servers are a little stingy with the rice but other than that definitely a place to sample. the lamb and chicken leg dishes are great. we tried all of the rice varieties and yummy!. we tried the vietnamese place and its good. tried the red chowder at the seafood place and it was not good, watered down, lots of potatoes and no seafood flavor. their octopus and mixed seafood salad was yummy. the fried chicken place on the second floor is awesome, get ready for a 15 minute wait during lunch for your order to come out. If you try the boars head get the food closer to 11:30, if you go later in the day the meat tends to be dry :-(. when you grab your food walk upstairs to eat in an air conditioned area.

Delicious ethnic food find

By Fey K |

We heard about this market from Krocks in the Kitchen, they showed delicious vegan food and they were right the food is delicious.
We had Indian, Ethiopian and vegetarian dishes.
If you are hungry, you will certainly find something you will like here, there are so many options.
I did not see a large produce option, but will keep looking.

So Many Options!

By ticoalra |

Discovering this public market revolutionized my convention stay! I only wish it was open longer hours. It doesn't open until 9 AM and closes at 5 PM Sunday and Monday. It has so many wonderful local options. We were a group of adults and teenagers. We all found good reasonably priced food options every time we visited. There is plenty of seating upstairs. It is also only a block away from the convention center.

Big Selection of Food

By VickiM74 |

If you're looking for variety, you'll find it here. We had many booths to choose from for our food. Then, after lunch, we found a few places to buy sweet treats. Tables upstairs to eat on made it a convenient place to stop for lunch while downtown.

Best food in town

By Juan H |

Excellent time with family, enjoyed every meal!!! Multiple choices to select your perfect plate!!! Beers, Tacos, Donuts, BBQ... all in one place!!!

Great place to visit!

By KA L |

Bring your appetite! Although this is a market there are so many different places to buy food. The sites and smells are absolutely amazing!!

Great options for groups and families

By Katie J |

Love the ability to pick whatever kind of food you could possibly want. Plan to come back over and over while here to check our the other options.

Great variety fish, beer, donuts, cheese, chorizo

By tfMN |

Good variety of vendors in a big covered heated room. Deli selections, cheese, meat, seafood, donuts, wine, etc..
Good places to eat a casual meal with wine or beer.

Food market destination

By Randy W |

Not really the farmers market we were expecting. Most vendors sold food to eat on site. Not much for produce. Some fresh meat and seafood vendors and bakeries. There is a parking lot next to the market specifically for customers. If you buy something at the market, they stamp it so it is free parking - $ 10.00 if you don't buy. It was cold when we were there, so maybe that is why there were no outside produce vendors.

Great Variety and Quality

By SCtripchick |

We got here in the morning when things were just getting going. Perfect variety of choices so not to be overwhelming and still have lots of things to choose from. We had a great waffle from Belgium Waffle place, good coffee and then picked all kinds of lunch stuff to go: pulled pork with home made potato chips, Vietnamese sand which, Belgium sand which, assorted salads. All were great. There is also ice cream from Jeni’s (locally well known) candy and lots of other sweets. A fun place to shop for local food and drink (there is a wine and beer seller we didn’t try). Fun just to look around too. we will go back when in Columbus. It reminded us of a smaller Reading Terminal Market, like in Philadelphia.

Fun place to visit

By debmink |

The North End Farmers market is a fun place to visit. There are a variety of places to eat and a couple of shops. The location is wonderful near the convention center, downtown and all of the hotels. The only drawback is that it doesn’t appear to be very clean. However, that could be just because it’s in an old warehouse and that’s the Decor. The pastaria and Jeni’s ice cream are two must haves. Destiination donuts is another amazing experience. These eateries are amazing.

Cool farmers market, great sampling

By jkzoo |

Some of my favorite things can be found at this market - and there is always something new to discover or try. Gifts, plants, and all the types of foods you'd expect at farmers market - this is one of the best.

Busy, fun place to visit and explore!

By Becky N |

Stopped here on a trip to Indianapolis for dinner and was not disappointed. It was a bustling hot spot where you could get pretty much any type of food and comfortably eat upstairs with a great view of all the shops.

Great Place Near Convention Center for Finding Food

By Kayla D |

This place is awesome! So many food places to choose from and a huge variety! I ate at Colo Seafood Bar and had a Connecticut Lobster role. Sooo good! Warm lobster, including claw meat, leg meat and tail meat on a warm roll drenched in garlic butter. The garlic butter soaked into the roll making it basically garlic bread! It is pricey but worth it! It felt like an entire lobster was put into the roll. Cannot say enough good things about it. My husband had polish sausage a couple of time with pierogies. Also very good. Highly recommend this Market if you are near the Convention Center - the Market is only a couple of blocks away. You can certainly find something to enjoy here.

Seems to have lost some of its charm

By jkzoo |

I used to love this place but being from out of town do not get there often. This last visit was the first in a while and it seems to have changed a lot. There was not the interesting variety that i was used to and didn't appear to be any sampling. Mostly just eateries and a few meat/seafood vendors. Was disappointed,

Misleading title

By SneakySnake |

This is NOT a farmer’s market!! This is just a place to buy ready-to-eat food. I thought there’d be other little shops here and fruits and veggies. Nope. Yes there’s a variety of food here but calling this a farmer’s market is misleading!

Very cool marketplace

By Joseph H |

The variety of retailers is amazing. Food from around the globe can be sampled here. There is also an incredible spice shop, a balsamic vinegar vendor, meat market, and Bakery. It is one of my favorite destinations in Columbus.

Great place for a group to eat

By PPergol |

Seven of us went there for lunch and all ended up with different food, everyone enjoyed what they selected. Most topped it off with an ice cream. I would love to return and try something else! Just a great place to eat and pick from a huge variety of dishes.

FOOD FOOD AND FOOD

By Sanchezlobo01 |

We were looking for a place to try something different, boy did we find it !! They have such a variety of foods it was had to pick. They also have a cheese shop ,butcher shop wine shop and many others . There was a farmers market outside. The second floor does have seating to eat your purchases. Must hit spot for off the different food spots.

Fun Food Market

By Followingamelia |

Watching my 1 year old granddaughter at a nearby hotel while her mom attended a conference, we walked over to this great market every day. They have just about any kind of food you can imagine: Greek, Thai, Nepali, Vietnamese, Italian pasta, American barbecue, Polish, vegetarian, hearty grains, Mexican, craft beers, bakeries, ice cream, specialty donuts, fried chicken, crepes, produce, two butchers, fishmonger, coffees, spices, and a flower stand. Most things were $10 or less. There is seating upstairs It is busy and crowded around the lunch hour, so we tried to go after two o’clock each day.

So many delicious food choices!!

By LHS329 |

It's a really cool historic building that has so many ethnic food offerings that everyone can find what they want. There is Mideastern, Italian, Polish, Ramen, French bakeries, Wagyu hamburgers. And so many bakeries! Jeni's ice cream has terrific flavor offerings and there is a seriously good coffee shop. There is a ton of seating upstairs so everyone can meet up after deciding on their food. Really a terrific place to eat.

Beautiful little market in heart of downtown Columbus!

By Rachel |

We enjoyed walking around this market and buying nicks nacks and sampling different foods. There is a little of everything in the market. Wares, ethnic and other food. A pleasant walk around.

Great eats in downtown Columbus

By Sharon H |

This little slice of food heaven will make your mouth water. If you leave here empty handed or hungry it's your own darn fault. Great ethnic dishes. You may have to walk around once just to see what they have to offer and them make your decisions. If you eat the first go around, you may not have room for all the other outstanding offerings.

Wow! Really cool place!!!

By CovertChick9903 |

I turned my nose up to eat here at first, glad I agreed to go. I hadn’t been in 30+ years and boy has it changed. Crowded but many places to eat and a variety. Small shops too. Dog friendly. Wanted pizza but split a cabbage roll...dessert at Jenis. Enjoyed my visit. I parked at the lot where you park & pay. Then walked a couple blocks. Good price for parking, $5. Know your license plate. Cash or debit card/credit card accepted.

Must See in Columbus

By George Bohan |

If you're familiar with Reading Market in Philly, you'll have a good idea about North Market. Lots of interesting food, mostly prepared foods, some fresh food vendors. I parked at Vine Garage right across the street but there is a fee parking lot immediately adjacent to the market. I gather vendors will validate your parking stub for a reduced rate.

Eating tables upstairs are reached via outside stairs. There are also tables outside.

I'll definitely go back.

Two Different Animals

By Steve L |

I was told this is better than Cincinnati’s Findlay Market, and this is the basis of my review.

North Market and Findlay Market are two different animals. NM is overwhelmingly a collection of food stalls - like mini restaurants. It’s an international food court. There is a nice variety of international foods. Outside is a smattering of bar-type establishments, which were just opening at 5pm on the Saturday we visited.

Findlay is a lot of butcher shops with a lot of produce vendors outside. It’s less of a food court and more of an actual market. There are more shops surrounding while Columbus didn’t really have any. Cincy has historical ambience; Columbus does not.

Findlay overall has more variety while North Market is more about getting a bite to eat.

Happy Hour

By JPLC75 |

Got to the market around 3pm and not much going on although majority of the stores are still open. Had a few drinks at the bar and enjoyed their craft beer. Which they have new selection every week. Nice place to hangout.

Tasty

By RCTALLEY |

Something for everyone here. Polish. Indian. Italian. Artisan. Etc. We love that all of us can get exactly what we want, sit upstairs at the tables and dine together. Several places have to-go water cups which is nice as well. Enjoy!

Some hidden gems worth checking

By Winston |

Early March generally a giant food court. Seating not always convenient. Basically tried different foods from vendors. Some highlights Flavor and Fire hot sauces good selection. Green Olive for olive oils and vinegars. Of the foods we tried MOMO Ghar and The Moroccan food stand.

Tips on what to buy & eat

By Peggy S |

I came on a Thursday afternoon and the place was busy.

Tips:
1. Order the beef pho ($8 only!) at the only Viet restaurant, Lan Viet
2. Have dessert ($4.75 for 2 half scoops, $1 extra for waffle cone) at Jeni's ice cream. I tried expresso with cherry swirl & milk chocolate
3. Bring home some Ohio souvenir such as bbq sauce or spices. I bought 3 kinds: most spicy, medium spicy and classic bbq sauce, buy 4 get 1 free at $6 each.
4. Validate your parking ticket at the final eat or drink or souvenir stall to enjoy subsidized or free parking (I am not 100% sure about this)

Cool place. Lots of variety

By Mike P |

We stopped here to check it out while in town. Lots of cool vendors and options for food. Definitely worth a visit.

Great Lunch Spot When at Convention Center

By eobert |

The North Market is a great place to eat lunch when your at The Columbus Convention Center. There are so many options to eat and drink. It has very cool vibes. It like many restaurants under one roof. They also validate parking when you buy something.

Wonderful place

By tjgreen33 |

This place is awesome food was excellant and loved the people in there thatbworked at each place. Will definantly come back and eat again. Donuts are delicious. The wraps are excellant

Such a cool place!

By Jean M |

Reminded me of the market in Boston near Faniel Hall. Lots of local vendors selling delicious local fare! Inexpensive and fun just to walk through. We bought flowers for our girls and hot pretzels.

Food for Every Palette

By Wendikbaker |

I was mesmerized by the variety of choices and the uniqueness of the building.
Choices included Vegan, Polish, Vietnamese, Greek, Barbecue, etc. It was so hard to decide, but I went with Vegan. I will definitely come back the next time I’m in Columbus. There was also an upstairs for dining.

So Glad I Went (Several times!)

By hellodawntaylor |

I was staying in a nearby hotel, so this Market was a quick and easy destination. I loved the variety of vendors all under one roof. I ate, I shopped, I brought colleagues with me on repeat visits. Loved the spice market and the Pistacia Vera (pastries). Jeni's famous ice cream shop has a small location in North Market, too...lines were much more manageable than their location in Short North. Lots of people, all ages and backgrounds, were enjoying the Market each time I went. Seems like a great amenity for residents and visitors, alike.

Worth the trip if only to people watch!

By eastc0astwanderer |

We are regulars but there is a great deal to offer visitors looking for something unique. The variety of vendors and shops is great and include a cheese shop, seasonal produce, a butcher, wine sellers, etc.. Absolutley something for everyone. There is even seating for those who want to eat there.

Super cool

By Sonny_circumvehor |

Parking is normally a snap..cool hip selections.. columbus did it right.. right downtown, easy access , and fun shops .. couldn't ask for much more

Try the Bubble Tea

By Monica R |

We love the North Market we love walking around getting something from there.... in Columbus it has the best bubble tea that I have found!!! Now to get Beignets and I might live there!!! Really nice place to go though to discover new foods or just because your hungry, there is something for everyone.

Great Variety

By Jamie O |

Great market! Variety of food and dessert options plus little shops and gifts. All food was yummy and plenty of seating. Visited on a Sunday afternoon with a group of 9, and it wasn't too crowded.

Wonderful Market

By Cheryl D |

What a wonderful place to browse and to eat wonderful food. I enjoyed a great goat cheese and cranberry ice cream which was unique and delicious.

Lots of Fun

By houstonsue |

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the North Market. There are a lot of different vendors, with a large variety of food offerings. Many of the vendors offer international food, in addition to regular American food. We had a very pleasant stroll around the Market, checking everything out. The location is Short North is also very convenient and in easy walking distance from most downtown hotels. They also offer a lot of outside dining if you are social distancing.

Lots of Variety

By Brian Krieger |

Ate at the North Market prior to a concert at Nationwide Arena. It was decent. Imagine having 20 food trucks at your disposal and that’s basically what you have at the North Market. I sampled Indian cuisine; my dad had Polish. Both meals were good, but kinda pricey. Upstairs eating area needs some work - new chairs and clean tables. Interesting experience though. I’d recommend it for a visit but probably wouldn’t eat here all the time.

So cool

By Roses |

Any purchase here comes with a validation slip for the parking garage at 45 Vine Street.
We paid $2 for our visit.

This market has some really good and popular places like Hubert’s, Hoyo’s Kitchen, Buckeye Donuts, Jeni’s Ice cream, etc.
Cash is preferred here but cards are accepted after a certain minimum.
Seating is spacious upstairs with a really cool view. It seems there’s even live music playing here at times too.

Okay.

By Sonja B |

I was under the impression this was going to be spectacular by the way people talk. Its just a couple of small specialty shops and some food vendors. Nothing special here.

We love the North Market!!

By Monica S |

We love going to the North Market and enjoy visiting the vendors at the market. The only thing we wish is that the market regularly had a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. Produce is at one small stand and sold on weekends outside of the market. We love the deli, italian store, pizza shop, little eater, bread shop and several others. A must see while in Cbus!!!

Great Stop for Lunch

By Sinatralis |

This is a nice little farmers market very close to the convention center and they do have parking you can get your parking validated so you only pay a dollar if you purchase something. Great place for lunch as there are several choices from Indian Chinese, Italian, Vietnamese.. but they also have produce they have meats and they have a cute little bar that you could get a beer or a mixed cocktail and walk through the market it’s not very big but it is just the perfect size but great for a casual lunch as they have seating upstairs and outside picnic tables. Worth a stop for sure as it’s not super big but it is a nice little market.

reminds me of a place that would be featured on the Travel channel

By quietpoet |

I wish there was a place nearby where I live like the North Market!I have been to the N.M. in the past , several times when visiting Cols. area. You can eat there, or purchase all types of food. I had gone there on a Sat. I recall that if you didn't buy anything from the Market, you'd be charged for parking. I had bought a few things and had a receipt, so that wasn't an issue. I bought a bunch of big, live sunflowers that day as well as some food products. There was also live music playing from locals. The atmosphere is pretty cool.Located in a very old building. Don't let that sway you from experiencing all that N.M. has to offer. The local vendors really deserve to be supported.

Love this place!

By isay691 |

I go here when I am in the area. Nice place to get fresh produce, meat, and great food selection. Parking may be a pain on busy weekends but try the nearby parking garages. There is a seating area upstairs as well.

Best dumplings!

By Alane J |

Loved loved this stop! We found so many great ethnic food options. We enjoyed the dumplings at Momo Ghar so much. We can’t wait to use the grapefruit balsamic vinegar we found at the market.

Lots of food variety

By AceBucki |

Great spot if you are with a group and everyone wants something different to eat. There is sushi, Thai, Indian, Mediterranean, ice cream, BBQ, bakeries, juice bars and much more.

LOVE North Market!

By lovethebeach70 |

We don't get to Columbus very often, but when we do.....we always stop at the North market. Love this place....so many awesome things! Hot Chicken is the bomb, and we love the fresh pretzels (all the dips....oh my gosh...so good!) The fresh baked pastries - uuugh....so many great things. Would be so happy to see something similar in my town.

Definitely worth a stop. They also validate parking too!

Great market with a lot of variety

By hennesda |

We visit local markets whenever we can when on vacation (and at home). North Market was actually a specific point of interest on our trip to Columbus and we were NOT disappointed. In fact we went back for a second visit. While it is not the biggest market we've ever been to, there's great variety - restaurants, local shops, bakeries, butcher, ice cream, farm fresh food! The prices are very reasonable and the employees are very pleasant. There is plenty of seating when purchasing breakfast, lunch, or supper. Parking is a couple of dollars when you get validated after a purchase. There is also a CoGo bike rental in the parking area (a local bike rental system that you should check out - only $8 per day with unlimited rides). A couple of specific mentions are the spice shop (fantastic varieties and some really unique house blends) and Taste of Belgium.

I loved it

By Regina H |

A really nice place where you can find a variety of food, and also have a nice dinning area upstairs.

Great Lunch Stop

By Sarah B |

We stopped here for lunch and were able to try so many different delicious foods! We got food from:

Bubbles Tea & Juice Company
Hot Chicken Takeover
Hubert's Polish Kitchen
Jeni's Ice Cream
Lan Viet
Momo Ghar

And split it all so everybody got to try everything. The banh mi from Lan Viet was the best thing I ate on our whole vacation. We were very happy with everything we ate and I can't wait to go back and try the other places!

There was both outdoor seating and indoor seating (upstairs). It was very busy but still fairly easy to navigate.

A world of food selection

By scottkX8241UW |

Get several items from different vendors and share at the table. Tibet, Nepal, India, Somalia, Poland, Greece, etc.

Great selection of foods

By piccode |

Nice spot with a ton of food vendors. Great selection of foods at good prices. Given the foot traffic on a recent Friday - clearly a favorite of the locals.

Food everywhere!

By Mr_BeenThereDoneThat |

Vendors everywhere! Cool market place to buy about every type of food you could imagine. It was very crowded on Sunday afternoon when we went. Parking was pretty impossible but we were walking from the convention center so it wasn't an issue for us. This market is directly across the street from the convention center's short north side. I think this is a great place to try different foods and order small bites as you wish.

Leisure afternoon

By jandro1 |

Spend a good, low key afternoon at the North Market Farmer's Market.
Get a bite to eat, buy a few unplanned items, people watch and maybe catch some entertainment.

Must go!

By Syreatha P |

Many different stores, bakeries and restraunts under 1 roof. And eat on the 2nd story while overlooking the place.

Not a traditional Farmer's Market

By Chaperone2013 |

We stopped at the North Market for an early dinner during an event at the Convention Center. The food was good (we had Mexican), and reasonably priced. The ice cream at Jeni's was really good, but there was quite a line. It was a nice alternative to hotel food and the convention center options. But, don't go with expectations of seeing a true farmer's market - it's basically a ring of small food establishments (some are pricey) and a few gift shops.

Great spot for lunch and pick up some desserts.

By P J Avery |

Located just south of Short North, this farmer's market is a great place to grab lunch. Several different restaurants inside so you will be sure to find something delicious to eat. Plus a couple of desserts shops which made some sweet savory desserts. It's a busy place so if you don't mind walking, park in the nearby garages. Parking is expensive though 12 dollars for three hours.

Love, love, love this place

By 727tinak |

We come here to Columbus twice a year. We always stay at the Hampton Inn on High Street in the arena district. Practically right out or back door is the North Market. We can stop in there for a quick lunch or dinner before heading over to Nationwide Arena. There are several other little shops inside including a card shop, a kitchen gadget shop and not to mention several ethnicities of food to choose from. Today since we're staying one more night we grabbed our dinner for the night and brought it over to our hotel so we don't have to go out anymore today.

Beautiful Place

By PalestineTraveller |

Do not miss the Mexican chilies and sauces, specially the dust of fire :), also the traditional Salmi is a perfect gift to buy from there.

Go back 100 years to the days of the real farmers' market!

By Buckeye_boy_614 |

North Market Farmer's Market is the last remaining farmer's market in Columbus, Ohio. The Central Market was closed and torn down in the early 1960s. The current North Market is the reincarnated version of the large quonset hut that served as the original North Market until about 30 years ago. That site is now part of the current market's parking lot. Inside the current market are several dozen sellers of meats, seafood, flowers, vegetables, spices, cheese, and baked goods, not to mention Italian, BBQ, hot chicken, Polish, Chinese, ice cream and deli booths.

Seating is available on the second floor, but even that becomes scarce during many lunchtimes. A relatively short wait time occurs at all the food purveyors, with the exception of Hot Chicken Takeover, a seller of Nashville style hot chicken. Hint - go early to HCT and the line is doable, but if you wait until closer to noon, expect to stand in line for at least 30 minutes to even place your order, so go early!!

On weekends during the late spring to late fall, on Saturdays there is a true farmer's market with peaches, apples, sweet corn, and other fresh-picked vegetables available.

The North Market is on the northside of downtown, within a block or two walk from any of the hotels around the Columbus Convention Center. There is on site parking, or you may find a meter nearby.

You must go there!

By tiger555 |

I love this market! It has so much to see and enjoy. As tourist, I couldn't by groceries but their food stands provide a variety of international food. Yu could eat at the tables upstairs or just outdoor at the picnic tables--if it's summer time. I finally chose the Vietnamese Pho stand run by Vietnamese women. The Pho and spring rolls taste very authentic!

Lots of Choices of food

By Chia Yu W |

This place is great. It got lots of food choices. We bought potato pancakes and it was very delicious.

Unique Fun Place

By Traveldanse |

This is claimed as the oldest public market in town and is located within walking distance from the convention center and surrounding hotels. It has at least 30 vendors of mostly food related items from spices to sushi, with smells wafting from all directions. There is a large variety to choose from and special events can take place there and is worth a walk over if staying in the area.

Generally a favorite of ours but the construction of the new hotel/parking garage makes it a mess and confusing.

By jgbtravels |

Generally this is one of our favorite things to do in Columbus, however, the new hotel/parking garage construction has made it a nightmare to get in. First of all the parking lot is currently no more. You are advised to park in the Vine Street garage but parking was scarce and once you find a spot and get out there were no signs(not even temporary) that directs you to the proper exit to enter the market. My wife and I finally happened upon a guest of the Hilton Hotel that helped to direct us out of the parking garage. Even after finally getting outside the construction and barricades make it a challenge to get to the entrance of the market. There were two others like us who had trouble finding a way out of the garage. Once in the market there is plenty to choose from. We were there simply to get Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream and some Stauf’s Coffee. Although we did get a voucher at Jeni’s Splendid for parking it would not scan at the exit. With traffic behind us we simply paid the $4 parking fee not to hold folks up. Once the construction is completed hopefully it will be much better. As I have mentioned it is a favorite of ours but now is not the best time to go if you are driving. It’s a mess.

Great food!

By 329john123 |

We went during the week when the actual farmer's market wasn't scheduled but, inside the building, there is a really wide variety of food from different vendors, ranging from Indian, Vietnamese, to cafeteria style and all at reasonable prices. Seating is available either at the stall or the seating facility upstairs. A lot of fresh food stores, beer, wine, etc. Not as big as the one in Cleveland but, well worth a visit.

Shopping treat for staples

By Tom F |

Shopping trip for food. Yes meat and vegetables can be had. But this shopping destination is now more for ready to eat lunches. Good choices always something different to try.

A Great Spot to Visit

By Jack S |

North Market is a great place to visit in downtown Columbus, OH. We were there in late-March so there were not a lot of produce for the Farmer's Market (1 vendor). However, in looking at the map when warmer weather produces more locally grown produce this will not be the case. As others have said there are numerous dining options inside the market.

Be sure to get your parking voucher validated as it save you money.

Love this place!

By nitroliz |

Been here several times, now I make it a regular stop every time I am in Columbus. All sorts of prepared cuisines to have a great lunch, from Italian to Indian, Sushi, Greek, Asian, Katzingers Deli, etc. Specialty shops for wine and beer, cheese, breads, donuts, oils, vinegars, gifts, cards, flowers, etc. My favorite spot is "The Fish Guys"! Tons of fresh seafood to buy and take home to cook, very hard to find where I live, so I always take a cooler and get several varieties to take home. If you don't have a cooler, they will fix you up with a Styrofoam container and plenty of ice. There's something for everyone at the North Market!

Superb market

By mgsnorwich |

Situated close to the Convention Centre, this market is both a huge grocery store, with an eclectic selection of fruit, vegetable, flowers, meat and fish stalls and separate stalls which serve a wide variety of foods from curries to fish, Nepalese, Italian, cheeses, pastries, chocolates, bbq’s, grills and salads, all at very reasonable prices. There is a gallery all round the building above the ground floor where you can sit to eat the variety of food which you have bought below.
This is a superb facility, after wandering around for 45 minutes, taking in all of the sights and aromas, some of us bought a couple of curries while others bought a mixed seafood salad and marinated herring with a salmon and egg sandwich before going up to the gallery to eat. It would be hard to find a better place for an inexpensive snack meal.

Something to reconsider

By renzo_p_018 |

North Market in Columbus it's not claimed as the World Famous Market but has a good name on Lonely Planet that warmly recomand it. Actually I didn't find it so charming: it's small and cozy but prices are too high to be a market.

Food and other things

By Acineto |

The market is located north of the main CBD in the Short North district. It is completely covered so it was fine during winter. It wasn't very busy when we went so it was quite easy to move around. There are plenty of food options around the market. We grabbed a Jeni ice cream while we were here though.
There is also a second floor where you can grab a table to eat all the things you found on the ground floor. Some of the tables also had charging points which was useful since they also have free Wifi. There are a few interesting murals on the wall and a table tennis table on one end. It was a nice place to stop by and look around, but even better if you are looking for something tasty to eat.

Food was good but read the fine print t to park here

By Bill B |

Oddly enough I liked the place. Unlike many reviews I agree price your food to cover costs and rent i will decide to buy or not...but I spent $29 for a lobster roll, $19 for some dumplings and $15 for some ice cream and was ok and happy. I saw a small sign at the dumpling place that said they would validate parking but with covid etc I would pay the $7. But I was FINED 10 for a parking bill because it was not validated. There is no sign when you get your ticket only one as you leave.

Could there be a sign further along maybe but who looks you take your ticket and go past the little building and park... THERE IS NO BRIGHT LIGHT.SIGN SAYING WE WILL SCREW YOU WHEN YOU LEAVE....but have a nice day...

So I hope you get validated.parking.

so many options.... so little room in my belly

By angelasF1742DY |

Stumbled upon this gem when the restaurant I was planning on going to was closed. There are so many food options, the diversity is awesome. We went back the next day just to try more food. If you have a picky eater you will have no problem finding something to eat here. Perfect for date night or a family meal. Loved that the farmers market was open outside as well.
Most definitely will be returning to North Market next time I'm in the area.

A return visit

By wallywilbur |

Haven't been to North Mkt. for several years , since no longer live nearby. It has changed - prices up - probably due to higher costs of being in market and possibly due to difficult times trying to stay in existence for the past 2 years. Several new places with several new varieties of foods. The Barrel and Bottle has a really nice selection of local beers. Ate at Lan Viet - not as good as it was previously but still ok.
Looked like it was still a good choice to visit to try different foods.Parking is still tricky- if you stay more than 2 hours - they jack your fee up.

Good Variety of Businesses

By tarheeltraveler4509 |

This is a great location in the downtown near the convention center. Lots of selections if you are looking for something to eat with a variety of other types of businesses. Went on a Sunday around lunch and they were pretty busy. Lines at several locations for food and folks seemed to be enjoying the different places. I had a pretzel which was good and just the light snack I was looking for. Others with me had a spicy bowl which they enjoyed. Great place to check out.

Terrific Variety of Cuisines

By TravelingSoccerLoon |

This is a great place to grab lunch or dinner. As others have pointed out, this isn't a true Farmer's market. Instead, it is a food court filled with a terrific variety of cuisines and all locally owned. From Italian and Mexican to Somali, Thai or Nepalese to BBQ and seafood, it is hard to not find something you like. The most difficult thing is to settle on just one given the number of options available. The sambusas at Hoyo's Kitchen are amazing and I enjoyed the Green Curry from Nida's Thai. If rating the food quality, I would give it a 4/5 but 5 out of 5 on the overall experience and atmosphere. Prices are not cheap here as this is an "attraction" to visit in downtown Columbus. Plenty of seating on the second floor or outside on picnic tables if the weather is nice.

Anything you need market

By Mandy H |

We was looking for something different to do while on vacation. We stopped here looking for fresh fruit and veggies, we found that and then some. Many different food vendors, ice cream, salsas, breads, donuts, fish, beef, chicken, seasonings, etc.

Great local market

By Lola M |

This local, big market is located in the heart of the Short North. It has its own parking that can be waived if you actually stamped your ticket, although it is usually packed. There are plenty of options from raw to different cooked ethnic food, as well as delicious bread desserts or a wine store. The atmosphere is nice and cozy.

Loved it!

By Ericka49 |

Great place for a variety of food and deli items. Fresh meats and fish are available as well. It's a bit busy on Saturdays and during events, but it's worth a trip.

A must visit place

By Mario C |

Great market here is Columbus. One of the better markets in the country. Great selection of foods. You can get your parking validated inside the market. We plan making a stop before we leave town because we liked it so much.

Great place to visit.

By Rae Ann H |

Short walk from the Hyatt. Pay parking if you drive but I think some vendors validated parking.

Lots if great places to eat.
Specialty stores all under one roof.

Lines moved fast.

Reminds me of Seattle's Pike place.

Downtown Market

By John H |

Loved the North Market in Columbus. A wide array of foods and beverages. Big Shout Outs to Destination Donuts. YUM. Coco Cat for the Blueberry Truffle. WOW. And Spices LTD for the tremendous service!

A must stop for anyone with culinary curiosity!

A Pure Gem

By Brian904 |

The conference I was attending rented out the whole building for an evening. North Market is a gem that I wish I had back home. The venders were only giving out samples of the food they offered, they were all vey good. The ice cream was to die for. You need to check this out while in Columbus.

This place is amazing!!!!

By granmab |

I wish we would have had more time. Just had an hour between convention events and not near enough. Plan at least 2-3 hours, maybe more if you plan to eat or get a glass of wine at the wine dhoppe. I hope to get back there someday and cover the whole p!ace!

Must visit if you’re a foodie!

By chelsie419 |

Great place to visit especially if you’re not in a hurry and have time to walk around. Have a little bit of every type of cuisine it seems like. Great place to visit around lunch time! I love markets like this and can guarantee if there is a market where I’m traveling I will be going! This is one of my favorites.

Neat place! Must visit

By Benjamin N |

We were here on July 4th weekend and sadly the place was closed. We visited on July 5th and the place was truly unique. Lots of street food, and reasonably priced, except for the $3 doughnuts. Will go back today to explore more before we leave Columbus.

Great experience. Watch the prices.

By Rich K |

Was less crowded than the last time we were here, even though it was a Saturday morning. Bretzels is pricey, but oh so good. Parmesan pretzels or cinnamon pretzels are delicious. I had a Polish sausage sandwich with sauerkraut and spicy mustard with mashed potatoes and the Polish Diner stand, and it was very tasty. You do need to watch, some prices are very high (in my opinion) and you can drop a lot of money quickly. Clean. Friendly. Places to sit and eat upstairs (elevator available) but because of Covid, it was very limited.

Enjoyable Place for a Quick bite

By Alora C |

I stopped here for a quick bite. I ended up walking around and enjoying the shops and food stalls for an hour or so. Definitelt would visit again.

Neat place with plenty of small places to choose from. Whether you're looking for homeade food items or shopping it is there. I stopped at the ice cream shoppe which was awesome!

Nice market

By KristinNM |

We were at the Convention Center for a volleyball tournament. I did not know about North Market prior to visiting Columbus, but a friend happened upon it while out walking. We had some downtime during the tournament, so decided to check it out. A lot of vendors inside the enclosed market, and I wish we had known this existed before eating lunch in the convention center. I did try and purchased some flavored olive oils from Green Olive Company, and we also tried the ice cream at Jeni's. I loved the wildberry lavender, paired with the darkest chocolate. Yum!! Nice visit.

What a variety!

By Ken E |

We were surprised at the variety of foods available in the Market. Some things we had never heard of before! This would be an excellent lunch place- you could have something different every day for weeks!

Oasis of Hidden Gems

By David L |

GREAT stop if you are nearby or looking for fresh produce, meats, chicken, or fish. Convenient to the Convention Center and I-670. Lots of hidden gems in here, too. TIP 1: if you are lucky enough to park in their lot, bring your parking ticket. They validate. We got ours validated at Market Blooms.

First little gem we enjoyed was Stauf’s Coffee Roasters. DELISH cup of Joe that prompted me to head straight to Destination Donuts. SUPER WOW! Tried the Blackout donut on the recommendation of the server, and it was AWESOME! So good I had to eat it with a knife and fork, and so big I had to share with the fam. 😋 Other honorable mentions are include Black Radish Creamery (for yummy cheese), and Brezel for soft pretzels.

TIP 2: Head there later in the day for better luck parking AT the market and smaller crowds, especially since they validate (we only paid a buck to park). Risk you run is that the merchants won’t have as robust a selection for you.

Unfortunately, we went too late in the day to catch the farmer’s market. EXCELLENT stop for a snack and a drink, or you could easily find your brunch, lunch, or dinner options. This gets a WORTH the TRIP and a MUST DO if nearby!

A must see

By LulieATL |

Wow!! A MUST see!! We were traveling, so could only buy items we could consume during our visit. Amazing venders with a hidden treasures! It was fun to explore different types of food, gifts, and many other items.

Nice for lunch!

By hellosarajz |

My son and I made a quick trip before heading out of town to the market for donuts and then ended up having lunch! We also “treated” ourselves to some macarons. Delicious! So many choices! We will go back when we return to Columbus.

Nice Market

By Celeste D |

I liked the different shops and food options. I bought some hot sauce and had some Italian food. I was hoping to get some chicken but the place was closed.

Incredible Variety!

By LahFam |

This is a fun spot for a quick solo bite to eat or lunch with a group. So many choices from Polish to Thai all under one roof. There's seating on the 2nd level over looking all of the venue. We visit this spot multiple times during our weeks in Columbus. I bought wine, coffee, flowers and Mediterranean one day and Polish lunch the next. This is a fun spot for locals as well as travelers. They even have Jeni's ice cream and huge donuts!

Lots of food choices from all over the world!

By Susan L |

A great place to buy lunch or dinner or a dessert! Fresh food only. Has 2nd floor to sit and eat which is nice, because 1st level is always crowded with people. If you want something really bad--buy it before noon as vendors sell out of whatever they have made or brought! If you come later in the day--selection has gone way down!

Interesting market in doubt tail

By 1WingNow |

A number of interesting vendors in the north market. Stop in before late afternoon as a number of the vendors run out of food or have limited offerings left.

So many choices!

By Traveler657403 |

My wife and I were visiting the city today and we decided to stop by the North Market Farmer's Market. I am so glad we did! There were so many choices of wonderful things to eat. Make sure you have the time to walk around and try the samples. If you buy something from a vendor they will validate your parking. Once you make your selection, they have an area upstairs where you can sit and enjoy your meal.

"Won't go back"

By Readytogoanytime! |

It was just Ok. Small amount of vendors with food you buy mostly to eat there. Not what we expected...Quite pricey too.....

Great meeting place

By byusmommie |

We stop by for snacks. Apparently there were much more to try. Luckily we were with a big group so we could at least try out dozen of donuts (they r really nice dough!) and some Belgian waffles, Boba teas, and portions of Polish dishes..
Recommending the upstairs seating area for hangouts!

Unique shopping and dining experience

By ST23 |

Great market to shop and dine and support our local entrepreneurial businesses. Parking is easily accessible and comp’d when purchases are made. The market has a variety of stalls, from flowers to spices to ice cream to meats and fish. Unique and local food options: Italian, Polish, Asian, along with all many of bakery items. Go, support our local economy!

Great place to shop local flavor

By Pulmbubble |

The place sales not only the raw food but also the cooked meal. The second floor deck provide a great space to sit down and eat. The parking lot is just next to the building which is easy park. The market has Italian food, Asian food, American food, European food and seafood . Great varieties of choice .

One of the best executed markets of this type

By Adam L |

We stumbled upon this because we were staying nearby. What a huge hit. They have an incredibly wide variety of food/treats/snacks, plus a couple non-food booths. We sampled around five or six different booths on our two visits and weren't disappointed at any of them. There will be something for everyone in your group, and then there's room to eat upstairs.

Best of all, on the two trips we made during a weekend stay, it was never uncomfortably crowded and there was lots of parking.

Farmers market

By T5852AG-Dennis |

First time at this indoor market, the market is more prepared foods, good Variety of different ethnic foods, I saw one small produce stand. I am here on a Sunday, are they closed on Monday. During the week they might have outdoor produce, not sure. I will definitely come back with anything. If anyone is in town, I recommend stopping by.
See attached pictures below,
I hope this was helpful 👍🏻

Yearly

By Kevin Y |

Every year we visit their. Since we have a family function yearly at the convention center across the street. We always look forward to lunch both days.
Wonderful selection of food venders as well as markets to buy things such as Duck, quail, ostrich eggs.

Great market!!

By Marla |

Such a great market. Great products, fresh food and meats. Also tons of places to eat! They have a cute little bar as well.

Several restaurants and shops to pod hop.

By Rob M |

A little bit of everything, from flowers, beer, oils, restaurants, coffee, bakeries, etc.. Grabbed a bite to eat and was done in less than one hour. Sitting for eating is mostly upstairs.

Something for everyone

By minniemae |

Been here multiple times over the past 10 years. I love the eclectic mix and international food selection but lately their prices (of food in general, anyway) seem to have skyrocketed. Considering its downtown location, convention center area, we go here for lunch options as most everything else along High Street is expensive (except for that lousy taco place). They have great selection of food to fit everyone's palate & budget under one roof.

Nice place to escape the heat

By GuyDudeBro69 |

The nice part is everybody in your group should be able to find a new dish to try or fall back on an old favorite . All 4 in our group ate from not only different stalls but from different parts of the world. I had good old American BBQ, my wife had Vietnamese my Bro-in-law had Polish and my Sis-in-law had Chinese . All were great !

Wonderland

By Sheryl B |

What a magnificent market. There is something for everyone. Any type of prepared food (tacos to waffles), plenty of desserts and sweets, seafood, meat market, oils and vinegar, and a wine store. Produce outside. Even if you are not hungry, walk around and take it all in- you will be back for something.

Don't miss North Market when you are visiting the OSU area

By Maps756520 |

I wish I'd found North Market yeas ago (visiting my OSU student)! It has so many great places to eat and shop. Great diversity of flavors. Perfect place to go with families, when you can't all agree on what to eat. Easy place to drop in for a quick bite. Upstairs seating is fun, too - you can see all the place you'll eat next time.

Great place

By Topaztide |

Its like going to a world fair. You can chose many different cultures of food. There is also little shops to purchase from.

This is a great place for lunch

By blackriverwoman |

This is a great place to go for lunch. There are many ethnic restaurants to choose from as well as fresh produce. there are outside covered benches to eat at as well as an upstairs eating area. Parking is discounted if you have your ticket validated by a vendor. jen's ice cream is excellent as well as the calzones at serafino's.

Excellent don't miss it

By Alfredo Garcia |

Very nice market
Many restaurants and food
Also meats fish wine to bring home
Some gifts stores, coffee, natural juices
Great place
Parking available
Close to convention center

Wonderful

By artsiren |

I love north market, especially when they have the farmers market. Even when it’s winter, though, it’s a great adventure to wander through. The new cheese place is beautiful, the fruit and vegetable vendor carries a lot of organic and local product, and there are some great places to sit and eat. Love pastaria (try the artichoke Gorgonzola cheese over bow ties), and the focaccia at the bakery on the south end. Jeni’s ice cream, macaroons at Pistacia Vera and baklava at firdou are great choices for dessert.

Love Love Love!!!

By MaggyMarie |

I’m a fan of variety and that’s what you can find here! They have food from all over the world and something for any cuisine or craving. I recommend the taste of Belgium! Their waffles are out of this world good. If your not a fan of crowds and noise then this is not the place for you on the weekends.I don’t mind crowds so it didn’t bother me but I went on a Saturday and it was packed. During the week I have heard it is less busy. The lines move pretty quickly though if your waiting at a vendor. A must do if your in the Columbus area.

This place was bigger than I thought and offered a HUGE variety of items/food.

By BaldSerb |

Went here to find a place to walk around inside away from the cold and was impressed by the variety of items in here. I ended up getting dinner at the smoke house place with the 3 meat platter! Highly Recommend!

Fun lunch

By Carrie216 |

There is something for everyone at this market. You can get smoked brisket, Vietnamese pho, luscious desserts and Nepalese dumplings. There is plenty of seating upstairs. A not to be missed outing.

Food tour was amazing

By CEREN |

Any kind of food from different countriws of the world can be found here. Loved there. Especially the spice shop was interesting. Try different spice mixtures...

INTERESTING

By SUNILDASWANEY |

North Market was in actuality more or less a giant sized food court set in a old fashioned setting resembling one of the 80s and 90s.There was a huge variety of eating places where one could have a quick bite.

great spot

By 461glennw |

great place good mixture of places to eat or buy produce very busy around lunch time very clean great prices

Something for everyone

By RCTALLEY |

From local beers, to hot smothered chicken to big thick donuts to all types of international tastings. Not too crowded. Seating mostly at the chicken place and a few spots at the local beer joint. Good family fun.

Disnt end up eating there.

By bassetlover1119 |

The place wasnt very clean and was packed so we chose not to eat there. I had Hope's that it was better then it was.

Smaller than expected.

By Amy D |

The Market was much smaller than we anticipated. It pales in comparison to Findlay Market in Cincinnati. Most of the vendors were selling hot meals. It felt more like a food court than a market. Everyone we interacted with was very friendly. Parking was easy and inexpensive with validation.

Great local market

By Jason Homey |

In Columbus, Ohio, if you are looking for a local market with a wide variety of ethnic and diverse foods, this is the place to go. There is a wide variety here. For those Ohioans, it is similar but not nearly as good or as large as the West Side Market in Cleveland, but there are a lot of cool things here. There are fresh meat markets, restaurants, donut shops, and even places to buy spices. The only real issue here is the parking nearby which can be a problem at times. Instead of parking in the insanely busy parking lot, try nearby meters that don't cost as much depending on the amount of time you are staying.

Great place to browse, eat, shop for local items

By Teresa C |

Love to stop in at different times of year to enjoy all kinds of food, interesting items or to pick up gifts. Recommend when in Columbus and so close to shops of the Short North.

Satori Ramen Bar

By truthselfevident |

Best, most authentic Ramen around!! Great service, wide variety of menu offerings, and convenient counter-seating. Placed inside North Market, in the arena district, close to many of the other cultural gems in the surprisingly cosmopolitan midwestern city of Columbus.

Plenty of Food Choices

By Charles L |

If you are looking for fresh vegetables, fresh meat, dairy, seafood or libations- the north market has it all. Ive had the Asian bowl. Mediterranean food and Hungarian food and everything was delicious. Everything is locally sourced, nothing frozen.

Vibrant and delicious

By K10tiger |

I'm a big fan of the Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia, and the North Market in Columbus is a lot like it. Each business offers more than a booth, but not quite a full restaurant. Go with a group and each of you can get a different type of food, then sit together in the upstairs dining space overlooking the market. Lots of gluten-free options for celiacs too. A nice variety, not expensive, the place is clean and people are friendly. If you're staying in a nearby hotel, it's also a great place to stock up on souvenirs, wine and snacks to take back.

Something for everyone

By RCTALLEY |

From local beers, to hot smothered chicken to big thick donuts to all types of international tastings. Not too crowded compared to some markets in the NE. Seating mostly upstairs at the chicken place, outside and a few spots at the local beer bar. Good fun for everyone.

Loving This in the Heart of Columbus!

By StewbieDewbieDoo |

We're originally from Cleveland, so we grew up with the West Side Market. Don't tell my fellow Clevelanders, but I think this market is even better!

Please note that the farmer's market is a special thing that happens on Saturday mornings during the growing season, in addition to what is there 24/7.

I absolutely love the selection and variety in North Market. When we go, we enjoy everything from fresh Polish food to pretzels to Jeni's ice cream. No matter your tastes, you'll find something here. There are many healthy options as well, so I appreciate it!

There are some very cool shops, including a spice market and an olive oil market. You can't go wrong!

Parking can be a little hectic at busy times, as you've got to wait for someone to come out before you can be admitted (when the lot is at capacity) but it works. Also, you can have your parking validated if you purchase from any vendor, so your parking is super cheap.

I already can't wait to go back!

Easy walk for lunch

By Ryan T |

My conference nearby was lunch on your own and the weather was good. Family had recommended North Market and it was only a couple of blocks away. GREAT variety of food options. Went twice to sample as much as possible.

Fun Place!

By CTMans |

Collection of a few dozen stall-based ethnic eateries with nearby casual or picnic tables for dining. Momo Ghar's Tibetan dumplings were delicious. Many other establishments also looked tempting. Parking adjacent the market.

Very Cool Great Food

By DKPuck |

There are so many excellent food options in here, as well as bakery and sweets. There's a small bar, hot sauces, etc. So easy to spend all of my money...on good stuff!

Loved the building and food

By Mrs.Coop |

We got some Indian food here and oh man it was so so good! We also stopped at one of the pastry places and got something called a chocolate bombe I believe and it was delish!! We stopped at the spicy salsa place though and honestly the guy there ruined the whole time for me. Every other word out of his mouth was the “f-word” or “Jesus Christ” and I just didn’t like it at all. His salsas were good though. Would definitely love to go back and try the Mexican and polish foods!

Good Call on food

By Kevin Y |

The North Market is a C-Bus must see and eat at. A whole world of dinning options in one place. The market side of it is very unique, some can get expensive but worth it. I dont mind paying the prices here since you get an experience with every purchase here.

North Market was here when I was a boy and it may have become trendy now, but it's still got its soul.

By Don B |

I no longer live in the area, but whenever I can, I will spend my morning there. The Fish guy is still the best in Ohio. The bakery is still the best place for fresh goods. The cheese shop is still absolutely amazing. You can get prepared foods from around the world and even sushi if you're in the mood.

Great spot for international foods!

By hcvoyageuse |

We arrived early to our hotel, and the concierge suggested a walk to North Market for a bite. What a great cultural experience! The building itself is so interesting... neat to read the placards regarding the history. Gourmet donuts, macarins, artisan breads, oils, coffees, Vietnamese, Polish, Mexican... tons of authentic foods. We went back on day two for lunch.... and to buy frozen pierogies to take home!

Greatly Improved and Very Nice

By JURatGNR |

It's been probably 3 years since I've been in the market, but it has improved significantly and is very noteworthy now. They have "kicked it up" a few notches and it's vendors are very good now, with a great variety to choose from. It used to have some average shops, vendors, concessions, etc...not now, it's the real deal.

I don't want to say it's "like" the famous Seattle Pike St. Market, but it will remind of it and the quality of what is in Columbus now is comparable...just not the size of Seattle by a long shot.

I would shop there for interesting take out and great foods to prepare at home.
Highly recommended.

Great place to wander through

By vangel048 |

Lots of different mini shops selling vegetables, fruit, jellies, etc. Liked the variety of food by different nationalities. Got to sample a lot of different foods

Must do visit for foodies!

By Cheri D |

Located in the Short North section of Columbus, this trip is a must do for foodies. An indoor market, there are a wide variety of shops including wine, gift, fish, and a cool spice shop where you should be able to find just about any spice you desire, and they are very knowledgeable and helpful. Lots of food stands offering a wide variety of foods ranging from Polish, Tibetan, Indian, to American spicy fried chicken. Fresh baked goods including a bread shop is also available. This place does get crowded, but the wait time at any one food stand is usually short. Food is ordered and then brought upstairs to the huge eating area. An elevator is available. The problem is parking. It can be tight in the lot and on the street with metered parking. Well worth the visit, though.

Fun and bustling city market

By Keach |

We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and were not disappointed. We lucked out to find two stools free at MOMO Ghar and had some delicious Himalayan dumplings (veggie ones and potato ones—both vegan). Lots of other prepared food available—all of which looked amazing. Seating is upstairs or some vendors have small counters.

Kids In A Candy Store

By Michaelconchscooter |

Great covered market with everything you need and tons of fascinating stuff you don’t. They aren’t pushy but they are helpful and cheerful so it is actually a pleasure to visit and wander. Not huge but packed into two aisles with seating and eating area upstairs. Validated parking nearby and cheap meters all over the place. This is no problem shopping.

Perfect for people who can't agree

By jpschatz |

Went for lunch with hubby and daughter. There is something for everyone there. Had dumplings, pierogie, coffee, salad and ice cream between us. No need to agree! The food was all great and very reasonable.

Large food court for adults. No chain restaurants.

By MidwestTraveler |

Variety of vendors. Several dining options. Think of it as a large food court for adults. Neat eating area upstairs where you can overlook the entire market. Add this to your list of places to visit when you go to Columbus.

Uniquely Different

By Kevin Y |

Beautiful options in shopping and dinning. Conveniently close to the Columbus Convention Center for when we're there for kids events. They sell things that are offered no where else in Columbus. Things such as quail eggs/duck eggs/rabbit.
Great selection of food venders with seating upstairs and outdoors.

Something for everyone

By American Eskimo |

Amazing selection of restaurants and vendors with wide selection of meats, vegetables, baked goods, & made to order food. Great place to walk around. North Market is steps from Columbus Convention Center and many nearby restaurants and pubs. Street, surface, and garage parking available.

Always a great stop!

By Littlewinelova |

This is the second time I've been to this market. There is so much wonderful food and cool things to buy, if you are in the area you definitely need to take the time to go here! Even have live music! Check out their greeting card area, I could literally stand there all day reading cards that had me on the floor laughing!! Great coffee, bakery items, meets, flowers, you get the picture! Go!!

Eat here instead of convention center

By ken j |

The food here was great, a huge variety of ethnic cuisines. Good for lunch while at the convention center. I ate at the Somali, Vietnamese and Momo Char (Nepalese) and all were good. I like the second floor seating are looking down on the market.

Great selection of food

By ramagut |

So many places to eat of different varieties plus lots of fresh meat, bread, cheese, and seafood offered.
Seating is upstairs with a nice view down on the market or outside. Great place to get a good meal.

One of the best places in Columbus

By Kylee N |

This is one of my favorite places in Columbus. You can get almost any sort of meal here from one of the food stands. There is also a couple great bakeries, a local cheese shop, and a beer/wine shop with a great selection. You can also pick up local produce, meats, and spices while here.

Great place to eat in Columbus!

By triptonowhere_11 |

I am in love with this place and I can stay here for a long time. They have different varieties of food and they are all good. The only bad thing here is the parking when it’s busy, but it’s so worth it.

Fun & Variety

By DaveZ111 |

People in Columbus know about it, but if you are in town (especially at the convention center ), definitely worth a try

Multiple food places range from BBQ, pasta, Asian , fresh bakery and so much more

This is not a place for some romantic dinner, but rather a good place for a large group with diverse tastes

Fresh food with world wide fare.

By Dawna Leigh W |

First we explored the market, which offered Chinese, Mexican, Polish, German, Greek, Italian, Vietnamese, Irish, and other dishes, all prepared while you watched. There were also fresh meat markets, fish markets, hot sauce stores, bakeries, candy shops, beer and wine stores, hand packed ice cream, coffee and tea stores, etc. We finally decided on a Vietnamese noodle bowl. It contained grilled shrimp (my son had grilled beef) a rice ball, noodles, and a salad made from marinated vegetables. I hope to return the next time I'm in Columbus. BTW you can have your receipt stamped for free parking.

Not a farmer's market - more of a take out food market

By Bruce C |

We were expecting more of a farmer's market which is not what this is. It's a lot of small shops/restaurants with a variety of food types. Perhaps we got it on a bad day, but the places that were inside were very well established. If you want to go and have people experience a wide variety of food for the same meal, it works, but it was a little disappointing

So much to see and eat!

By kdpbball |

The North Market reminded me a lot of the Reading Terminal Market in Philly. There are many and varied vendors offering food, crafts, beer, paper goods. There is an open area upstairs for eating. At each vendor, the service was quick. I tried Thai food for the first time. The Market was steps away from our hotel and we visited several times. Enjoy!

Eclectic lunch stop

By TARCGAZ |

This is a must do in Columbus for lunch. Wide open old warehouse converted to a marketplace. Was able to get halupki perogi and kielbasa while our friends had Thai and Italian. Plenty of choices plus farmers market affair. Great option right in downtown Columbus

Wonderful ethnic grocery.

By 19Nana61 |

I can't wait to go back here. It is the neatest place with all kinds of wares to look at and foods from all over the world available to buy and cook or already prepared food to eat also.

Great Place for food lovers!

By Manish Malpani |

This is amazing! You can enjoy cuisines from almost all parts of the world. Indian, Mexican, Thai. You name it and you will find a counter serving it. We tried Indian food and it was fantastic. Great use of Indian spices and cooked perfectly.

Eat your way around the world!

By Doug B |

Very large international selection of foods available as you work your way around the two aisles and cross walkways. We had a massive cabbage roll and potato pancake... yummy! Also a large selection other fresh fruit and meats of all kinds. Plus pastries, spices, pretzels... you name it... go and look and eat and buy. There is eating space upstairs as well as on an outside patio.

Third visit

By merlinsurrietrekker |

We have had the opportunity to visit farmers markets in 3 of the C cities in Ohio. Each has a different personality as you might expect and of course a variety of food items.
The North Market Farmer’s Market has friendly vendors and a wide range of prepared and fresh foods.
We were disappointed that none of the farm vendors were there on the Friday that we visited, perhaps too ear
Y in the season.

Unique food court/market mix

By Trish |

Tons of unique vendors and great food! There is a specialty spice market which carries difficult to find items. Most of the seating is located upstairs and it can get pretty busy during the lunch hour, but well worth the trip if you haven't tried it before!

Yummmmm

By GINA D |

Day one Ramen
Day two Pho, Indian, and doughnuts
Day three gyro, lobster roll , and more ramen, and doughnuts.

The atmosnphere is great and the food is amazing.

This is a must a mix of food and market.

Something for Everyone and Parking Hint

By geomom01 |

At first I wasn't going to bother going in to the market because it sounded more like a food court than a market. Glad I had some time to kill and went in. The market is not very large, but they have a lot to offer. It does have a large number of take-out places, but they look much higher quality than you would ever find in a mall and offer many ethnic dishes. Plus there are some meat, fish and produce vendors. We purchased some delicious Manchego cheese and cured meat at Black Radish Creamery and wonderful macaroons at Pistachia Vera. There is a large pay parking lot behind the market. If you buy something, they will validate your parking for one hour free.

More of a food hall than a farmers market

By tfizzle |

This was more of a farmers market but now it is mostly a collection of restaurants, italian, pizza, wine bar, ice cream, vietnamese, polish, you name it they have something for everyone. But there is also a butcher and fish market where you can buy items to take home. Cool place and great place to eat. Open till 7 tuesday -friday, til 5pm on sat and sunday. Take the free circular shuttle as the parking lot is pay.

Lots of food choices!

By 137JenniferB137 |

Stopped on our way through Columbus. This is a fun little market with alot of food choices. Loved the atmosphere! Had some great mexican food and bubble tea. There were several bakerys, a meat market, cheese shop and more.

March 2017

By Aretha S |

I lived this place!!they had a diverse selection of food item's, things I've never seen before amd foods i wanted to try. If you're looking to plan a day trip go here.

Slightly Disappointing

By Cara |

I generally enjoy and like the idea of markets, but our visit was disappointing. Not terrible, but not great. There are so many fabulous places to eat and visit in Columbus, this felt like a slight waste of time.

There is a lot of construction around the market area, so navigating that may be tricky if you aren’t familiar with the area.

My husband and I visited on an afternoon weekday, so it wasn’t too crowded. Some vendors were closed for the day (maybe only open on a weekend?), some vendors were out of certain food; other booths were entirely vacant.

Our food was just okay (by this I mean= nothing special I couldn’t have ordered somewhere else). We dined on the second floor where there was adequate seating, but it was SO dirty. The stairwells were gross and every open table had crumbs and sticky places from previous diners. The floor under the tables were dirty, too. It just made for an irritating dining experience. If you’re going to get food at the North Market, consider carry-out.

Love this Market!

By Nunajones |

Many food stalls, great tasting experience! Seemed like a good representation of many nationalities, with diverse foods and drinks. Wonderful pastries, breads and even a flower market tucked in! Would definitely visit again . Had teen grandson with us and he loved the Mexican food! The market had some fresh produce and plants, not many crafts, but great food!

Excellent Conference Option

By tumbleweedchris |

This is convenient to the convention center, which is helpful for conference goers like myself to find a decent meal within walking distance. This is classified as a farmer's market, but is basically a food court. It looks like they are doing construction so maybe there is a second component that is not yet open? Anywho, there is a wide variety of foods (maybe a dozen or more) here. I had the BBQ and the hot chicken while attending my conference. I'd say the BBQ is average and you can probably skip that one. The hot chicken on the other hand was quite good and I highly recommend that one. The seating area can get quite crowded as a result of the conference rush. It is best to plan to get a jump on the lunch break. For tourists attending during a conference, I'd just skip it because of the lunch rush. This is an excellent lunch option, but your experience will vary based on the specific food outlet you choose.

stopped in for lunch with family

By emeraldprincess71 |

While the selection can be quit overwhelming, there is definitely something for everyone! The second floor seating was a great place to eat our selections and people watch. The elevator to the second floor is used for businesses to transport as well as for those unable to climb the stairs to the second floor so our group members who were unable to climb the stairs had a bit of a wait, but it was fine, just be prepared. Restrooms were clean and if you make a purchase in the market vendors will stamp your parking pass so you won't have to pay for the first hour of parking.

Very Interesting and Ethnic

By CaseyCottage |

We did a walk around to check everything out and to decide what we wanted for lunch? We decided on the Indian and I didn’t think it was possible to fix bad Indian, but this was bad and we both had upset stomachs later.🥴 The market itself is very entertaining and unique in a shopping experience. Fresh flowers, vinegars, balsamics, chocolate, cards, breads and so much more!

We were killing time before a show and wandered into this fantastic market. They have it all.

By 710Sandy |

We wanted to buy everything but couldn't take it into the show with us. The manager heard of our problem and said we could leave our groceries there in their big refrigerator and pick them up the next day. This worked out for all of us and we had a second chance to buy more

Reminds me of Seattle on a smaller scale

By brewColumbus_Georgia |

A great place for anything relating to food- fresh vegetables and fruits and a space full of different places to eat. Everything from Asian to Thai to Italian- something for everyone.

A little bit of this, a little bit of that.

By Travelbug |

The Short North area was recommended to us to visit while in Columbus. We stopped by here first to find some lunch. The building is filled with many different types of ethnic foods. It all looked so good. There was also a stand with fresh veggies, beer, wine, spices & salsa. There is seating upstairs to eat. The building as well as the restrooms were very well maintained.

Great variety and value

Met a friend for lunch before a conference at the convention center. Parking was easy and not expensive since we ate in the market. Variety for the different types of food was awesome, we decided on Italian and had an very nice meal that was tasty and filling. The folks at all the different counters were cordial and answered all of our questions.

Large multi-cultural food court

So many options for food and drink, for all tastes. Visited on a Sunday morning and bought bagels, donuts, and coffee from three different vendors/ stands. Everyone is friendly, fun vibe. Bonus - they can validate your parking at the Vine Street Garage.

Love this place

Love this place for oddities that you just don't get anywhere else in the city. If you are a foodie and just want to eat come here or if you like to cook and can't find something at Kroger or wherever come here however you have to pay to park

Experience food from around the world

By Linda M |

North Market has something for everyone. It offers diverse food offerings from Somalian to Italian to BBQ. You can also buy fresh fruit, seafood, meat, wine, spices... The cannoli at the Italian stall is yummy. The sambusas at the Somalian stall is to die for. And the lobster bisque at the seafood stall is delicious.
I didn't drive a car there but all the vendors asked if I needed my parking validated so I know they offer free parking for patrons.

To die for food!!

By svecjennifer |

Best little market I’ve ever seen! Not overwhelming at all. Oriental, Italian, Mexican, Southern home cooked, sushi, chicken and waffles and a few more. There is also a Butchery and fish market. The best ice creamery and dessert/pastries too. You can purchase fresh flowers, cards, wine and cheese too! From Breakfast, lunch and dinner your taste buds will be full-filled. If I lived here in Columbus, I would frequent often.

Relaxing Saturday Morning

By Sarah M |

I visited the North Market a couple weeks ago on a beautiful Saturday morning. The farmer's market was underway outside of the market and I found lots of fresh and local produce that was reasonably price! The size of the zucchini beat out any I would find at my local grocery store. Once inside North Market the variety of shops and food choices was amazing! I highly recommend you go hungry especially if you want to sample some of the treats that can be found in there - everything from macaroons, pretzels, homemade Polish food, Mexican food, Belgian waffles, a few donut shops, and so many more options!!! I cannot wait to go back again and sample some more of the treats. I did purchase arrowroot from the spice store right inside the entrance - freshly ground spices and reasonably priced is awesome! Plus the benefit of shopping here is that you are supporting local small businesses - doesn't get better than that!

Diverse Farmers Market

By Gerry D Sadorra |

Amazing Farmers Market near downtown Columbus and famous Short North area. Whether stopping for lunch, shopping for the week, or entertaining friends and family, the diverse market provides flavors from around the world. Offering fresh produce to baked goods to your favorite world meals. The market also provides a second floor for your dining and relaxation. It's even worth visiting just to stroll around and take in the diversity. Paid parking is available in the back.

Fun!

Great place to get fun greeting cards macrons, gifts, a sandwich, and more. Love the ice cream place, too!

Something to do

By Brian & Rene' |

We are a family of 6, to include two small children; that decided to visit the North Market on a Sunday afternoon. The Market was not what we envisioned a Market should be, meaning; a place to purchase fruits, vegetables, and meats. Instead, the North Market was/is more or less a large food court, with eating space upstairs. We had visited the Westside Market in Cleveland a while back, and had anticipated the Columbus market to be similar. Each of us purchased lunch items from several vendors present, had some ice cream; then headed home. Parking with validation is $5.00. Food costs are a bit pricey. Overall experience: 5/10.

Unique experience

Unique experience in busy Mall Culture ! May b little overrated & overpriced. But good time to spend on a Saturday with family. Good variety & ambience.

Amazing food

By buckeyegirl2005 |

This is one of the best spots in Columbus. You can get just about any kind of food you want here, and everything that we've had is amazing. We always bring stuff home too. From Jeni's ice cream, to the Polish stand, the Indian Stand, the Mediterranean stand, the Italian, the Vietnamese, The Tibetian, the tacos, and the BBQ, we've never been disappointed. Then there are the pretzels and the bread!!! I am truly in heaven just entering the doors and smelling things here!

Loved it!

By MrsMckenzie14 |

Such a cute little place! Absolutely loved it! Nice cool atmosphere. So much to choose from! Can't wait to go back and get some food.

Delicious but Crowded

By LexiV |

I don't really consider this a market. It's more just a food hall. Everything we tried was great, but this place was mobbed. Definitely try to eat upstairs or outside for some breathing room. This is not the place to go if you're worried about COVID.

A nice respite in Columbus.

By jgbtravels |

OK, it’s not particularly big and totally indoors but a great place to browse and relax just north of the Arena District at the edge of The Short North. There are a number of places to buy food stuffs for later or fully prepared to eat there. I do love Stauf’s Coffee and Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream. Grab a cup or a sweet then go find a seat upstairs to relax. Do remember to have your parking ticket validated to get the discount. No one wants to pay $10 in their lot if you forget to validate. If you are there less than an hour it’s only a dollar. Note: I have found a number of clever greeting cards and frig magnets over the years. There were also some sinful donuts I forced myself to pass up-but not the ice cream.

This place is AMAZING!!!

By L.Reneà |

This place is such a gem. I was lucky enough to be introduced to it by a native buck eye. There are so many food options to choose from in here, makes it ideal for groups or people that like variety. I mean pho, ramen, dumplings, pretzels, Thai, Somali, hot chicken, donuts, baked goods. You can also pick up fresh chicken, fish, beef, alcohol and spices. I sincerely enjoyed my time at North Market. Anytime I'm in Columbus I'll make it a point to visit and you should too.

Great variety of foods

By Randomfreckles87 |

We walked through while wondering the art district. Unfortunately we already had full bellies because there was so many tasty looking foods from all kinds of ethnic backgrounds plus a variety raw ingredients to purchase to cook your own meals at home

Not a farmers market

By plevin2017 |

There was one produce shop. One cheese shop.

And the rest were basically restaurants to eat at or to take prepaid food home from.

Do not get me wrong. If you want to pay top dollar for high quality food this is the place for you.

I was looking for a variety of fresh vegetables and cheese. It just was not there.

Fabulous Farmers Market

By Brandon |

It was an amazing experience with so many different cultures, foods, and flavors. Once you think its over, you see even more options of food and fresh produce. They have everything.

I love the Pho at Lan Vietnam . Fresh ingredients.
I recommend trying the spring roll as well 😋😋😋

Great selection of food

By TravelJunkySoCal |

We had Belgian Waffles for breakfast here. Truth is that we had a hard time choosing where to eat because there were so many yummy looking places. The prices were reasonable and staff was friendly.

If you are in the area make sure you come here for dining and/or shopping. You won’t regret it!

So much to eat!

By saleem b |

Great place to come for lunch, dinner or just to wander. Every different type of food is available, lots of varieties and all cooked on site. Take an hour out of your day to just wander around, you won't regret it!

A HUGE Wow Factor

By DMJA21 |

WOW.....what a place! The best market of this type I've ever seen. Such variety! It utilizes space so well. The stands are very attractive and yet so functional. Truly an attraction worth experiencing in Columbus!

lots of food options

By Ruth S |

If you are looking for something to eat, this is the place to go. There are lots of options from around the world and many of the stalls cook food to order.
There was so much choice we came back another day as we wanted to try out more cuisines.
Highlights were the sushi (for my husband) and the ice cream for me!
Only downside is the lack of seating near the stalls however their is another level with seating but we did not check this out.
Don't let the shabby exterior put you off.

One word: Delicious

By TetonLover35 |

This place is great. There are tons of different ethnic foods to try. We sampled Polish, Indian, and Italian food while there. We wandered the building for 15 min to decide what to eat, went back and got our food and headed upstairs to the large seating area to eat and watch the people in the market below. After we were done we stopped at a bakery in the market for some dessert and picked up some salsa and bbq sauce for later.

Unique with a little bit of everything

By Karen_Dave2000 |

We stopped by here on our way to the Easton Town Center when we were in Columbus over the weekend. One of the merchants had the most wonderful scones and bread....just delicious. And I also picked up some spices at the spice merchant. I have already tried the spices on some salmon and it was exactly what I was looking for. There are many different merchants and quite a lot to see. I was traveling with family and all of us enjoyed walking around seeing everything, even the kids.

Sweet times

Kaelyn was awesome. Very professional and helpful. Pleasure to be with. We had an awesome time in Martha’s room.

Delicious, diverse food experiences!

By Kiana B |

I started the day with Ohio Thunder Chai and i knew it would be a good day. The cafe at North Market has a beautiful variety of teas. I had a Block's Bagels egg and cheese bagel and it was delicious. I stayed in downtown for three days and i went back to North Market for at least one meal each day. The bakery served a delightful buckeye cupcake. They are an inclusive environment with vegan and gluten free options. I bought spices to bring home, too!

Go hungry

By Katie G |

I thought this was more of a farmer's market, but it's actually more restaurants than fresh produce. Still worth a stop to check out some of the local spots all in one place.

OMG Go to this place.

By tjarcisz |

My husband is Polish and found an amazing proprietor that he had a blast with. Son loves sushi and couldn’t get enough. Everything we bought and tasted from each shop was amazing!!!!

Always a treat.

By Pathfinder5000 |

This is our version of Pike Place Market in Seattle. I've never needed to dodge a flying fish there, but there's an impressive assortment of food and specialty vendors not seen elsewhere. Fresh fish, meat, produce plus exotic meals to eat on site or take home make this a fun destination. There is an adjacent parking which is only full on Saturdays and special events. I wish I lived closer.

Food court

When you are not sure about which cuisine to choose for lunch then you must visit North Market where you will find plethora of delicious world cuisines Indian Italian South American Oriental Continental et al. Not to miss Local alcohol bar which is a bit stiff on pricing and Jenny’s ice cream. If it’s Saturday then don’t miss the farmers market s weekly popular event.

beware of odd closing times, but definitely go!

By elsiekate10 |

we actually wound up visiting the north market twice because of the aforementioned odd hours. the first time, three of us went but it closed before the other three people we were supposed to meet up with could get there (iirc, it closes at 7). on that visit, we tried the mediterranean food at firdous--a nice salmon entree over rice and a spinach and feta pie, and then jeni's ice cream (or sorbet if you were me--frose which was sangria and fruit-flavored and delicious). second trip was just two of us--we split a galette and frites at taste of belgium (and were very glad we split it--too much food for just one person unless you are a much heartier eater than we were) and then more jeni's ice cream/sorbet because traditions are traditions. we didn't look closely at the farmer's market aspect so i can't report on relative prices or quality of the produce--there is also a fishmonger, several bakeries, a donut stall, a place that sells fresh pasta to take home and cook for yourself, and many unmentioned food stalls. there are seats inside and upstairs, and a pay for parking lot adjacent.

Neat market!

By Lisa M |

My husband was happy that we found a spot where he could buy me flowers for my commencement ceremony at the convention center. They were gorgeous!!

I treated myself to an ice cream. Superb!

Yum!

By Tom E |

So many delicious things to choose from. Donuts, French pastries, and so many other sweets. For lunch, you can pick German, Italian, Mid-Eastern, Greek, etc, etc, etc.

Great Place to Visit When in Town for a Convention

By sumergrlfl |

A vast space great for lunch especially if you are at a convention. Short walk to the center, get there early for Hot Chicken, but all other places have a reasonable line. Great area for cheese, breads, ice cream, etc. Downside if you don't walk there parking might be a small issue.

Check this place out for great take out food items

By Barb H |

Really interesting place to go to for a variety of dining options (mostly take out, so you have to go somewhere else to sit down and eat it) old quaint building that is basically a "Food court" and offers some small shopping items like: greeting cards, spices, flowers, etc. worth a visit for sure.

Fun place to walk around, grab some grub

By dolittledigger |

Lucked out with parking right behind it. Started out with the bavarian waffle place, but the destination Donuts look really really good. I regret not getting one.
Spice store, organic store, Jenis ice cream, hot sauce, cheeses, pretzels-jalapeno cheddar was tasty.
Upstairs had seating and some places validate parking though we still had to pay $2.
Nashville hot chicken place-yum!!! Didn't get too spicy, just warm, but so good!! Free ice tea too. Fun
Fun place to check out

Great option for food, but closes at 5:00 p.m. so no dinner option :(

By muhlberg |

Good selection of food choices. Italian, Indian (which was very good), Seafood, Sushi, Mexican, etc... There was a small market for convenience goods as well. A lot of seating available. Only critique is the hours of operation. It closes at 5 which means you can't do dinner there.

Great.

By markbaker |

Columbus is a very clean and easy going city. Very much enjoyed that we could park our vehicle and wlak to everything we planned to see.

Empty

By gringatx |

We came here at 10:30 on a weekday and it was pretty much empty. we were expecting more things to buy but it was mostly food and a lot of places were not even set up yet. we got a buckeye donut for $3.10 that was really good and that's it. Parking was $2.

Foodie jackpot!

By Stefers2208 |

Stopped here and tried a lot of food we've never had before. The ramen was fantastic! Only thing is I wish it was bigger and more to explore!

Cool market

By Nizoral11 |

This market is in walking distance to the convention center. It has many places to eat and drink. You can also purchase food to be cooked at home.

Fun market with great products.

By jgbtravels |

One of my favorites in Columbus. We love browsing the delicacies and other items here. I usually come away from there with a purchase or two. Also, a stop at Jeni’s SplendidIce Cream is a winner. There are not too many places that are better in my opinion. The second floor offers seating to eat your treats plus a great view of the market. Don’t forget to have your parking ticket stamped. It cost us a mere dollar to park here today.

Great Cultural Visit

By Mary D |

Excellent place to stroll for unique gifts, spices, wines, fish, and more. Lunch has superb choices as Mediterranean, Polish, Tibetan, Indian, Italian are all available with fresh made delicious choices. Desserts are abundant also. Local artists crafts are available and the environment is a concern as take out containers are not styrofoam and they are recyclable. Bags are available but take your own and the world says “Thank you”. Go and enjoy as we are sure to return. One hour of parking is complimentary as you validate with a purchase.

Great Place for Food

By Arnie V |

North Market has such a wonderful assortment of food to take home to prepare or ready to eat! So many different ethnic choices and all of it smells and looks great! There is a great selection of items to make your home cooking and entertaining great! Highly recommended!!!
