Quiet night

By 8705candyb |

My trip to Owawas great, I recently relocated from Dallas to Pensacola and took a trip over here I wasn’t even aware these shops were here next to the amusement park. It was big open and clean (a lot of spiders though 😣). We had a sit down dinner at a restaurant and then strolled with ice cream around the center. Good place for a date or a family outing.

a pleasant place to walk for exersize, a great place to meet friends & clients

By MMNMarseilles |

I live fairly close to Owa & have enjoyed walking over the bridges, around the water & past the shops. It is a beautiful clean area with an upbeat vibe that inspires creative thinking & appreciative prayer. I particularly enjoy the baby boomer friendly music that is heard from speakers throughout the area. It is not loud or annoying but it's not to quiet that you can't hear it either. I often think I would like to meet the ones that are approving & organizing the music schedule. As music can contribute to the success or failure of any such business.
I usually visit at least one or two of the shops while I'm walking my 5 + miles. I discovered it's an excellent place to meet friends & clients.

Something for Everyone

By sharoncraversc |

OWA offers it all. It has an amusement park for the kids with rides for the young and old, carnival-type games, and in-park food services. If you're not in the mood for thrill rides, you can shop the adjoining downtown area that offers great restaurants and shops. I especially love that I can walk through the small town and enjoy the beautiful buildings, grounds and water amenities while I get my exercise at the same time.

Volleyball Tournament

By James Brantley |

We were there for a volleyball Tournament. The playing area is large and very accommodating. Very friendly atmosphere. Lots of places to choose from for eating. Even has Motel and playground.

Some new things

By K. T |

Some things has changed since our last visit

More shaded area,more seating
Mist blowers

Small water park area for smaller kids

Okay the older things
Free parking
Typical theme park prices for food and drinks

You can do this park in 2-4 depending on crowd

Great for kids 3-15, older kids will get bored very quickly.

Could Be Great

By Jeramie |

OWA, like other reviewers have mentioned, is clean and well kept. However, like others have also said it’s a “ghost town” of sorts. We have visited two years in a row and not many businesses are in operation and staffing seems to be a problem especially in the theme park area. I don’t know how long a obviously expensive, high maintenance operation such as this can continue to sustain itself with little revenue. Of note, our visits have occurred in March. It’s possible that summer months see more business.

Great visit to OWA!

By jamiejane46 |

We ate at Wahlburgers and had a good meal with great service. Ice cream at the Hershey ice cream place was amazing! Great place to shop for souvenirs also and the prices were better than anywhere else we found in Orange Beach. Did not visit the amusement park, but it was busy and the kids all looked like they were having a great time. We will be back when the casino opens!

The water is FREEZING!!!!!

By Jaspertechgirl |

I never write a bad review but I spent over 380 dollars for the family to enjoy the water because it was too cold outside. The small kids area was like an ice cube. The kids could only use the lazy river because they were to short for the other slides so it was so sad for them. I ask one of the life guards was the pool heated and he said they heat it at night. I don’t believe him. I’m just warning you so you don’t waste your money if you have small children.

Beautiful Holiday decorations.

By Travelshares S |

The downtown area is beautifully decorated for Christmas. Plan on going back with family this weekend if decorations are still up.

We Loved It!

By TexasBuffettFan |

A little concerned if this place will make it given the low number of people. We loved our one night stay! The park was clean and rides were awesome. Many of the shops in the area are vacant, but several restaurant choices and the Groovy Goat was really good. This place is a hidden gem!

Will be a winner

By KegMaster |

We visited OWA this week and while the shopping area only has a few stores and restaurants it is laid out very well. It looks like it will be able to handle the large summer crowds. Whalburgers is open with great burgers. The ice cream and candy store has a great selection

Seriously Lacking Management and Service

By Pitzapie |

The boys had a great time. The entry price was good $25 for the rides is excellent. The amusement area is small and there are ample places to sit while the kids go on the rides. However, I’m supposing they have staffing shortages like everyone else, and there’s a 20 minute wait (at least) in the concession stand line. We decided to have dinner there at the Groovy Goat and got the kids cards to play in the arcade. When we ordered the waiter told us the kids had to be at the table when they bring the food? I thought that was a strange rule. I couldn’t imagine trying to get 3 boys to sit at the table for the 45 minutes it took for them to bring our food. When they finally did bring our food they didn’t bring silverware or napkins. I motioned a waitress and she said she’d be right back (she never returned and we saw her sitting at the bar probably on break)
We finally had to go find napkins and silverware ourselves and by that time my friends steak was ice cold. One bite and she said it was dried out and tasteless. My burger looked delicious but had little taste. We had the manager come to the table about the steak dinner and he said he would make it right with her, but he never returned. We asked for our check so we could leave and after waiting another 15 minutes we got up and went to find someone to help us.
OWA is a good idea but their management and service is seriously lacking. I don’t believe I will ever feel the need to go back.

Fun for all

By tiffany o |

This is a must-do if in the Foley area. The entire family had such a fun day. There is a good variety of rides for thrill seekers and not. Southern Express, Crazy Mouse & Rolling Thunder were our favorites. Being able to leave the park and walk around downtown (which is free anytime!) gave a good break. We enjoyed eating then stopping by the arcade before riding the last remaining rides.

Peace, shopping and good food!

Beautiful property. Nice to sit by the water. Had some moonshine and good Mexican. Bought some items from cute boutique Vacay Everyday. Still needs to grow more. Can’t wait to see more!

Great time with family PLUS helpful tips

By Caroline F |

We had a great stay this past weekend with my 7, 5 yo and 21 mo old. The park was very clean and the kids loved the water park, the rides, and the arcade!

I wanted to share a review for the outstanding employee Mark (in the orange) that helped me find my lost sunglasses. He made sure to ask the other employees to keep an eye out for them and keep checking in with me until they were located. Overall, the entire staff was helpful and friendly- this did not go unnoticed!

I would say 3 nights, 2 day trip was just the right amount of time IMO. we enjoyed staying at the Marriott adjacent to OWA- it was also a great stay, with free breakfast - kitchenette area in our room was very useful too. We would come back for sandwiches at lunch to save some money.

Helpful tips -
Realize that you cannot bring any outside food or drink into the park- so plan accordingly! Of course everything was a little overpriced inside the park - but that was to be expected imo.
Bring bug spray - the gnats were really bad one day.
For the littles - I did see some people with baby floats in the lazy river so that appeared to be allowed. Otherwise, they do offer life jackets. You will need to bring your own towel. Definitely do not forget your stroller for infants. It’s a huge area to get around in.

Meh

Over priced tourist trap. But is still fun if you spend the money. Restaurants there priced to match. Nothing special. Last I went the rides entry fee was 35 dollars each for the day. Too bad there is not rides to last the kids the whole day. The only reason to go back as a local is to show it to someone else.

Fun time

By purplechevy |

Took my two sons (10 & 4) on a Friday. The four year old had an absolute blast. Lots of fun rides for the younger kids (36” and taller). The ten year old was able all the rides. The thrill rides were great. We rode all of them except the Twister (looked to scary for us lol). The Alabama Wamma was everyone’s favorite. I was the only one to ride the coaster in our group. I liked it, lots of air time. All rides had very short lines. All the staff members were very friendly and seemed to take their jobs seriously. The park was clean and laid out well. While there there was a scattered rain shower. Because of lightning they closed the rides for about an hour. They stamped our hands so we could leave and return. In the “mall” area of the complex was an aracde. We spent the rain delay there and had a lot of fun. Over all we enjoyed our day at the park. Plan on going again.

A wonderful place to visit with family, friends or Solo

Fun time, safe Family attraction a place to spend the day inside the park or out. Food places and plenty of exciting things to see and do.

Hidden gem

By John W |

Well Kept Secret in Foley off of the Foley beach express. This park is very nice and the grounds and landscaping are beautiful. We visited on a Wednesday was not crowded and parking is free. I only purchased a rider ticket for my 8 yr old we just wanted her to have fun since most of the rides I can't fit on because of being very tall. They don't sell just the Waterpark ticket which is what we wanted to do all together. Maybe in the future they will offer it but for now you can only buy 2 options amusement park only or the Waterpark and amusement park. The indoor Waterpark just opened a few days before we visited and the outdoor part was not done yet.We decided to wait for the whole park is done before we pay that ticket price. My daughter had a absolute blast and a epic time (her words). She rode all but one of the rides which was closed. The park is very clean but kinda empty hopefully that will change with the new Waterpark opening. Employees were friendly and helpful with the kids. They have plenty of shade and misting stations to cool off. We brought in our own water bottles. They have a nice amount of rides for kids. We will be back next summer.

Way nicer than I expected! I already expected it to be nice, though.

By _kiannaejames |

I'm originally from Mobile, Alabama and I visit Foley quite often. Everything in Foley is nice, and I expected nothing different of this park! It's fairly new so everything looked nice and brand new. Clean bathrooms, excellent staff, nice rides, no long lines AT ALL which is a huge plus. The food was cheap but good and the drinks weren't bad either. Tickets weren't pricy either. I can't wait to come back!

Awesome!

By Cindy P |

We loved this amusement park! It was great for the 3 and 4 year olds as well as the 10 year old. And non-riders (grandparents) did not have to pay to get in! Exceptionally clean, professional staff, and great rides. We ate at Wahlburgers and really liked the burgers. Needs to be publicized more!

Fun afternoon!

By Mjherrin75 |

Kids really enjoyed the visit. The rides are not built for larger adults so just be prepared to not ride many if you're tall.

Our Creek Nation invests in FUN!

By Mark M |

"Our" Creek Nation (I'm more Creek than Liz Warren) decided a few years ago to seriously invest some of the Casino proceeds in a fine family fun & commercial venue adjacent to local futbol (soccer) fields where cotton fields grew once upon a time. We watched it under construction for more than two years, and then SLOWLY attract business tenants to OWA downtown and get the OWA Amusement Park up and running. OWA is intended as a family destination with Fun for kids and adults alike. It's not the home of "The Mouse" or the Vegas crowd, but you won't regret enjoying a day or so here.

Okay

By myrtle s |

My son had fun. Overcharged for tender combo at Breakers. Bought two computers and was charged 23.00 each. So sad to be overcharged

Interesting new sports tourism destination

By DrCarraway |

OWA targets those who are in Foley, AL for sporting events (such as baseball and soccer). It is intended to be an all-inclusive sports tourism destination. Currently (September 2018), there is only one hotel (but there are others nearby). There are already many sports fields and venues. There is a new amusement park. There is a shopping/eating section that is currently filling with vendors. Many of these shops and eating establishments are of a boutique or unusual variety. For example, Crazy Donuts serves both sweet and savory gourmet donuts. OWA is centered around a lake and is friendly to walkers and joggers. There are parcels of land that are currently undeveloped but that will be developed in the future. Once completed, OWA will be very interesting and a place where all members of the family should be able to find something to do. Kudos to the city of Foley for taking advantage of this market.

Clean, New,Family friendly Amusement Park

By JenLC07 |

We stopped by unexpectedly and were very happy we did. Very clean. Lines were short. Kids under 36in there isn’t much for them to ride.
Our 10 yr old loved the rides though.
The employees were extremely diligent in Safety!

Gonna Be a Great One

By Phillip S |

It's in the early stages of development but this has the makings of an outstanding family fun park. The roller coaster and other great rides are first class and when they get all their shops and eateries filled and eventual big water park, it's gonna be SUPER!

Great amusement park. Very family friendly.

By P-and-A--from-KY |

We took out 4 year old daughter to OWA. She loved the rides. Lines were not long at all and the ride staff quickly seated riders at every ride. Every staff member we had a conversion with was very professional and friendly. This park was very clean. No litter or spills on the ground. No graffiti anywhere. The bathrooms where spotless. This was our first visit here and we were pleasantly surprised. We will diffidently come back this park.

Fun at OWA

By Kevin M |

Great time. The park is big enough for the kids to enjoy and not get bored, but small enough to not get overwhelmed. Great times

Disgusting

By 04DTS |

EXTORTION - Adults that are going for no other reason than to supervise small children are required to pay ~$75 each with tax. What a ripoff!

Had a GREAT time!

By Boobearer |

We were in town for a volleyball tournament and the OWA open just for the participates. Because it was a "special event" the lines were not very long and we were able to ride everything within the 2/3 hour period. We will be back during the warmer months!

Vacation

By Stacy P |

We went to this last year and ate at wahlburgers .. doesn’t look like much has gone in over the year .. will be back next year to see Paula Deens is open

Very nice family attraction

By rickym704 |

This park is very clean and attractive. Lots of exciting rides for kids and adults of all ages, and plenty of water for the younger kids to stay cool and get wet. One of the best features is that you only pay to get in if you intend to ride one of the roller coaster style attractions or high flying swings. Outside the gates are numerous stores and restaurants to enjoy while you walk around a lake on a smooth and clean concrete street. A great weekend place to go!

Don’t go!

By Karren B |

Don’t go! Had to buy tickets for both parks amusement and water. Just to go to water park. Water waste of time WAVE pool not even open. They don’t tell you that. Went down slides once whirly pools not attached to slides like they show on website. Than they closed them!

Ghost town

By Farran H |

Nice clean nothing to do place. We come down to the gulf every summer all summer long. Been checking it out every year. You would think with such a nice place there would be something to do but there never is. The water park and amusement park are over priced. I can go to 6 flags way cheaper for more rides. Things close way to early and the rent must be high for shops because there are none. It’s sad to see something so nice to be such a waste of time. They definitely need more activity and make it cheaper for what they have.
Gave it a try for 3 years in a row and I think that’s enough. Don’t waste your time. Go to the hangout for free kids have more fun there and live music. That’s my advice.
From a gulf shores regular

Grandparents (or parents) can go in for free if the don't ride!

By Skeet L |

First thing that impressed me was I didn't have to pay to go in the park with my grandson! I did but I didn't have to and I got a nice discount as a senior. Only those that actually want to get on the rides have to pay, so my wife and the mother of our grandkids went in for free. They have a great selection of rides for all ages with a minimum height of 36 inches for the kiddie rides that were perfect for our granddaughter (age 4). There were a few rides that my grandson (8) needed a guardian to ride with him but many that he could ride alone--several that were too intimidating for him but look like a great thrill for the more adventurous--like the Rolling Thunder roller coaster. Bathrooms and park were spotless--very clean. The splash park was where the kids spent most of the day and that was the only slight disappointment--part of the splash park was not working. There were several places to sit and cool off in the shade or near foggers for a little extra cooling. The food at Whalburgers was awesome!

Only just begun

By Linda S |

This was my first trip to OWA to eat and browse the stores. A large majority of the shops are not leased yet. I plan on returning at a later date when they should be more occupied. The fountains are everywhere, making for a lovely walking area. I actually thought the little lake should have gondola rides, it looked perfect to ride under the bridge.

The best to Explore!!!

By Michael D |

I actually live just a few miles from Owa (Poarch Creek Indian for Water) and have watched it grow!!

When you're coming up on it it just kinda sprouts on the skyline. It's still new enough not to have all the businesses around to hide it yet, so the first thing you see is the roller coaster and the drop the cars make! There are 23 rides with more coming. A splash pad waterworks for the little ones and keeps everyone active.

The parking is very ample and free, with two main entrances. It's through these that you can access the amusement park (rides and such, admission fee) and the "downtown" shopping area (no admission fee). It's not all shopping as there are wonderful eating places like Whalburger's, The GroovyGoat, Hersey's Ice Cream store. There are several new things this summer like Paula Dean's and in entertainment, the Las Vegas Style Legends is coming.

This is a growing Park and new things will be opening. There will soon be an indoor waterpark, RV campground, and another 200 room resort hotel!

Very nice park

By navypoppop |

We came to OWA to see what it was all about. What a very nice setting with the amusement park separate from the Downtown area. The park was closed the day we arrived but we could see that it looks very inviting but clearly designed around teens and younger adults. The Downtown area is remarkably clean with wide open walk ways and inviting stores but most of the shops appear vacant maybe because of the newness of it all. We purchased some gifts and walked around and will definitely return.

Enjoyed ourselves for what it was

By lasaadiah |

Upon arrival we noticed there was only maybe two rides open so refused to pay 200$ for my family to enter. We went to Wahlburgers which was good had ice cream from Hershey's. Walked around but it's pretty empty.

Owa did not disappoint!!!

By NativeLadyTravels |

This was our first visit but it definitely won't be our last. From the hotel to the amusement park, everyone was nice, friendly and helpful. I expected there to be more people but was actually happy that it seemed like it was just locals. The wait time on rides was minimal if any. The grounds were clean and kept up. My kids loved all of the rides, we were able to ride with them which was a plus. A great family experience!!!!

Good value, but if you are a bigger person there will be disappointment

By Steve G |

We went on a Thursday night at 5 for the evening special price of $19.99 so we were happy with the value we received. There are enough thrill rides to keep my 2 daughters (10,17) entertained for a little while. I will say if you are a larger person (I wear XL or sometimes 2X shirts) then there will be rides that you want fit on. I was unable to get buckled in one of the rides and then for the roller coaster they have a test seat out front (only ride with this feature). I tried sitting in it and could tell it was going to be iffy so I didn't try it. My wife and girls said it was fun. May favorite was the Alabama Whamma and my 10 yo daughter liked the Wave Rider. I felt like it was a pretty good value. I don't think you could spend a whole day here without getting bored or burning up. There are very few places with shade and the only air conditioning is in the gift shop so it was hot. Very clean and not too crowded. I hope this place succeeds.

Perfect night out with friends!

By Kelly Lucas |

We have visited the park and Theater for Legends in Concert. The concert is so much fun and makes for the perfect night out with friends. We grab dinner in downtown OWA before heading into the theater. After a fantastic show, we stop in for drinks in downtown before we head home. Highly recommended for a great night out with friends!

Great place

By fcmullins |

Still developing but will be great place to visit as more stores open for business. The area has a great place for walking with more shops still to come!

Great place to wander, shop and eat!!

By Robin R |

It was a beautiful day so we went to OWA. We stopped in all the shops and found great bargains!! The Fairhope soap place is wonderful!! You can sample any of the soaps and lotions and watch them marking them. Found a pizza shop, jewelry store, souvenir shop, ice cream parlor, donut shop, rides and Wahlburgers!! After wandering around the 'town' we just sat on a bench and watched the water display in the pond!! Very peaceful, enjoyable day. Couldn't find the building that Paula Dean's restaurant will be so will have to go back!!

A little for everyone

By cdhcch |

One of the few places that has a Wahlburgers and Hershey's Icecream. You can walk around and find things that are no where else in the area.

By Barbara S |

It is a very hot park. I would recommend not going during the heat of the day. The spinning rides and heat as a combination are hard on your stomach.

Great Fun

By Gulfstar7 |

A great way to spend a day with the family. An adult can go in with children and there is no charge if they don’t go on rides. Some of the rides require kids to be 48” to ride. A Good rule, others require 42” and an adult to ride along.

Nice Amusement Park

By Norhall |

The first thing I noticed about the park was that there were no lines! No lines to get tickets, no lines for food, and no lines for the rides. I went with my wife, our daughter and two grandchildren (ages 11 and 8) on a weekday in late July. We got there shortly after they opened and parked right in front of the entrance. As we walked through the "village" area, there were some nice restaurants and shops. One restaurant in particular that served donut burgers got our attention. We all decided to come back at lunchtime and eat there.
The park has only been open a year so everything is very clean and new. There were quite a few rides. My only suggestion would be that they have a few more "relaxing" type of rides. Maybe some paddle boats, a sky lift, a nice merry-go-round. Several of the rides were downright frightening to most of us, although the majority were not. Of course, if you're a thrill-seeker, you will like it! The feature ride of the park is the Rollin' Thunder roller coaster. I'm no roller coaster aficionado, but this seems to be a very nice one.
We were able to immediately hop on any ride in the park with no waiting. If we liked it, we could hop off, walk out the exit go back in and hop back on. The grandkids did this several times. I asked an employee if this was a normal sized crowd for a weekday. She said it was, but it usually picked up a lot after 5PM. It was great for us, but I'm not sure if the investors in the park are thrilled.
Of course food and drinks are somewhat expensive, and everything in the gift shops is twice retail. But you expect that at an amusement park. We didn't buy anything in the gift shops, despite the grandkids' pleading.
If OWA can get their attendance up, and do a little expansion here and there, I think they'll be fine. It was a solid park, the grandkids loved it, and the park employees were very nice. Ticket prices aren't outrageous. If you don't like crowds, now is the time to visit (during the week at least). I have a feeling in a couple of years or so, the attendance will go up.

Made up hours, no southern hospitality.

By Maps218310 |

It was a chilly spring break so we thought the indoor waterpark would be great. Showed up for twilight hours of 4-8 and found out that it closed at 6pm, no discounted rate, and I fact, $5 more per person than the site posted. No way we were paying $55 plus tax per person for 1:15 minutes of play. We headed to The Track instead!

I loved it here!

By ChristinaNoel |

Great service at every place I stopped in. The staff at OWA was friendly and helpful. The park was fun! The food was great! Overall it was a great time. I would suggest season passes

Great vacation spot!

By Rita G |

We stayed at the Marriott near OWA and loved being so close to the action! We ate at The Groovy Goat, played games at the arcade, had ice cream from Hershey's for dessert and did some souvenir shopping at Alvin's Island. My husband and I have 3 boys under 10 and this was a perfect spot for them! We all had a great time! We will definitely come back to check out the rides! Can't wait to see what else OWA has added for our next visit!

Closed Monday & Tuesday?

By Rochelle V |

Everything was closed except Groovy Goat restaurant. Had an amazing experience at the Groovy Goat! Hence the 3 stars. Food, service and bonus arcade made for a fun evening! But, everything else was closed. Apparently all the businesses are closed on Monday & Tuesday now due to lack of staffing. Website does not reflect this. We and several other potential guests were very disappointed in the overall visit. We had planned on visiting the wine bar, the distillery, Lucy’s, the tea shop and buying tickets for the magic show. We spent the entire evening at Groovy Goat, understaffed and all, and had a great time. Get it together OWA.

Friendly Employees

By Jennifer D |

I enjoyed spending time exploring OWA, from the park to the entertainment areas. I highly recommend coming to check out the resturants and shops, plus the rides and entertainment seen every weekend.

Nice park

By Freddffry |

Good value compared to other venues in the area targeting the younger crowd and it's quite pleasant for the people in your family that doesn't ride roller coasters , food choices are many and what we had was was really good considering we where in a theme park

Sherer Femily a Day at OWA!

By AJ1216 |

Super special Sherer Family Fun! Rides, great food at Walburgers and great retail shopping, too! Certainly a great place for all ages!

FUN! FUN! FUN!

By bonilynn |

My kids 9, 7 and 3 all loved this park. My husband and I really enjoyed it was well. We all rode the rolling thunder roller coaster except the 3 year old of course and it was a blast!! My daughter says best ride ever! The park is very clean and all the workers are very friendly and accommodating. There was lots for the 3 year old as well his favorite was the frogging ride. We ate a Whalbergers there in OWA which was also good. It is going to just grow and grow, great set up.

Can Be Lots Of fun

By USNavyVet72 |

Normally, you would have to pay full admission to get into the "Park at OWA"...even if you aren't using the rides. My wife and I went on a special day where they were testing a "No Admission Day" to visit just the ride area. The rides are very nice, fun-looking and interesting to watch. The lines were short and the employees were all very friendly. Since we probably would never ride the rides, it is imperative that they not charge an admission all the time if you just want to look. A simple wrist band for riders would solve the whole problem. We hope to see this happen in the near future.

Fantastic Place

By Nytemayor |

My family and I opportunity to spend Easter weekend here, and we an absolutely fantastic family experience here. The rides were great with little to no wait time. The small shopping center had some very nice stores and food. Great place for the entire family.

It’s ok, over populated for the price & everything cost

By Heidi R |

Change rooms in the water park are DISGUSTING! Def bring flip flops!!! Wipes also! I don’t recommend Cozumel to eat in my opinion if you’re in a large group. They don’t let you bring in drinks to the rides area which I think is ridiculous!!! No water or anything, there water is gross so …

Great customer service at OWA!

By Bonnie W |

We recently visited OWA after a soccer tournament. My elderly mother had a a hard time walking to Wahlburgers. The greeter at Walhburgers suggested that on the way out, we ask the manager to call OWA’s customer service/will call and they would bring a wheel chair, which they did!! Jerald, OWA employee, brought the wheelchair and safely and carefully took my mom all the way to the car!!! Thank you Jerald and thank you OWA and thank you Wahlburgers! Next time we will get the wheelchair for the trip into the restaurant! Btw, Wahlburgers was delicious and relatively quick with our group of 15!!

Frustrating

By Jessica |

I'm a little disappointed. But, let's start with what I liked. I thought that the place was really cute. I liked how all the shops before entering the park was set up like a little town. The place was really cute and very well kept. Also, was cheap as all tickets were only $19.99 at this time. However, apparently first responders, nurses, etc got buy one get one free but no one asked me at the window if I was a first responder or anything like that so unfortunately I wasn't granted that opportunity. I didn't find out until after I was already in the park. With that being said I was not expecting to have a free ticket... Although it was upsetting I fully expected to pay for two. Besides that most of the rides had technical difficulties during our time there... So, with the 'COVID' 'Precautions' they were using to 'prevent' the spread of COVID made the wait times much longer than usual (and was pretty inconsistent throughout the park)... You would wait forever just to get to the front of the line and the ride no longer worked. THEN they didn't seat groups together (which would have hastened the wait time) instead they still placed ppl like 2-3 seats apart from one another which I felt was pretty stupid-if you came together I really don't see why your whole group couldn't sit together and then skip the couple of seats. On top of them 'cleaning' each seat and handle between each rider... With he exact same dirty towel they were using all day (suggestion: disinfectant spray each seat and handle..... Saves time and pretty much does the same thing). A sign was posted out front stating that masks were 'recommended' it did not say required. We were able to go into every building and onto every ride without wearing a mask yet on the very last ride which was one that seated everyone two seats apart (more than 6 feet) the man forced us to wear a mask. Well, the mask regulation states either 6 feet apart or wear a mask, not both. Plus everyone was outside and there wasn't much mask wearing by anyone in the line and no one really kept their 6 feet apart in the line. Also, riders on the ride before we had finally gotten onto the ride were not wearing masks. And below the ride were multiple masks that had fallen off of people during the ride and is just littering the place. I understand that it is not the parks fault about all of this COVID situation and of course they have to follow the guidelines to the best of their ability. But, with a place like a theme park... Myself and several other guests agreed that if someone is that afraid of becoming ill with COVID then they should not go to a theme park, a restaurant, or any other place that is unnecessary. I was just frustrated with the whole experience and probably would not waste my time or money to drive all the way over there again.

Think twice before buying tickets..

By loralee |

This park is not worth the money. My husband and I took our 15 and 7 year old on 10/10/23 and were charged $260 to float around in the “lazy River”.. my youngest did a slide a couple of times, but it just wasn’t worth walking up after the first couple of times.

I called twice prior to our arrival to get more info and both times ended up on the phone with 2 different young ladies who weren’t helpful nor all that pleasant to speak with on the phone. I asked if everything was opened and was told yes, only to purchase tickets online before arriving and finding out the outdoor area was closed along with many of the rides outside.

Seriously, I’m so ashamed that I spent that much money.. plus, it was nothing but teenagers rubbing the place and never did any of them speak or voluntarily offer assistance.. and a few were glued to their cell phones. Honestly, it’s poorly run, and not very safe in my opinion when you employ a bunch of youngsters. This place at this time of the year is just not worth the money and I would really like to be refunded a partial amount.

I brought my grandchildren to help celebrate my birthday. They had a blast! The only downfall is I paid to watch them ride.

Long lines...

By disfam15 |

Let me start by saying, this was a very small park, but fun. Very clean. And all but the mouse ride, were wiping down rides.

With Covid, the problem is long, long lines. With the amount of money being made, why has management not hired more employees.

The ticket booth needs to have all open. Lines were extremely long to get tickets with only a few windows open. And being a holiday weekend doesn't help the situation.

They only had one employee per ride. So they were responsible for checking bands, getting them on, checking seatbelts, checking gates, then running the ride, then cleaning. Why is there not 2 employees to each ride to share duties? This would had made wait times cut in half.

Does have fun rides, clean park, clean bathrooms and good food.

Doesnt have enough employees, and the front area gate employees was rude, and all i wanted was to ask if we went to eat, could we come back in. Young girl was very rude.

Fun in the Sun

By David P |

If you're looking for a family fun event that's reasonably prized go no farther than O.W.A. at Foley Alabama. Ticket prices are around $36 for all the rides, if you don't want to ride any of the rides, the price is FREE. Parking is also FREE! unlike Disney will still charge you 20 DOLLARS. There is literally no waiting, the rides are wide open goes as many times you want the park is extremely clean and if you can't have fun shame on you.

Fun for all!

By nancyavonwilliams |

You hear OWA and see it from the road, you think amusement park. It's so much more. It's like a a small town. It's absolutely beautiful to stroll through. Bridges and lakes, shops and restaurants, benches for people watching, and of course the amusement park. Best of all, it's free except for the amusement park. There is a hotel on premises and park is close to everything the towns of Foley, Gulf Shores, and Orange Beach have to offer.

Fun Eveni g

By LAtraveler36542 |

OWA doesn’t have the number of rides that Six Flags or Disney World does, but it does provide some great entertainment without long lines. The place was immaculate and well-kept. Even the restrooms were clean and next. You can combine a trip here for the rides with a fabulous dinner afterwards at one of the several restaurants here. The young people who ran the rides were all polite and very enthusiastic about their job. We enjoyed our time here.

Great place

By R H |

My wife and I don't use all the rides there, it was still fun to ride the more tame rides and enjoy watching others. Plus there are great places to eat while there.

Weekend Trip

By Lasherea H |

The Park was amazing!! My kids are 10, 8, and 7, they had a blast! We will definitely be going back!

To few...

By M. French |

There are not enough rides for young children. Even for most of the kiddie rides an adult had to ûa wristband and ride with them in order for them to ride. I was very disappointed and you can imagine the hurt look on my small (ages 4 and 5) grandchildren when they waited in line just to be told they can't ride without an adult accompanying them.

Potential For Greatness

By Jeramie |

OWA will potentially be great. They are a unique shopping and entertainment venue. The theme park area is thoughtfully laid out , clean and reasonably priced - $19.99 currently for unlimited rides. There are lots of rides for smaller kids but a roller coaster too. They were very slow the day we visited and ultimately closed 4 hours early, so call for hours if you are planning to visit during slow seasons. The website indicated closing time was 8:00 PM though they closed at 4:00 PM. A huge indoor waterpark is under construction too. Like many other retail and entertainment venues, Covid has taken a toll but OWA will rebound.

Lots of fun

By Csat-NOLA |

It’s not big and still developing but lots of fun for the kids rides are high qualify and the cost is reasonable. Wonder how it develops over the next few years.

Fun and exciting!!!

By Kelli D |

This amusement park was so much fun!!! My niece and nephew loved all the rides!! They keep expanding and growing to the park. They have tons of shops too you can shop at and its such a great area. Its kept up very well and I love that they have a non riders pass so you can enjoy it without riding the rides.

Long term customer disatisfied

By Miguel F |

This was the 3rd time visiting. One employee working at the canal was rude, perhaps didnot wanted to be there. I was moving with a toddler into the entrance to the canal and in rude manner told me not to block the entry and turned the her back on me. The other thing, they did not have enough floaters and the ones they had were underinflated. The drinks refill machine gave a lot of error messages, thus enlarging the waiting line. They increased the entry fee $10 forJune this year. Overall a 3 rating.

Kinda Sad - This Place Won’t Survive - Lack of Management

By TexasBuffettFan |

We had a one night Friday stay during the peak summer and went to the amusement and water park. They can’t even decide on the hours they are open. Sign out front said the water park closed at 8 but it was open until 10. We got there around 5 pm and it was $61 dollars per person. Not too bad, but didn’t disclose that 3 of the major amusement park rides were down along with some of the major slides. It’s obvious by attendance that they are struggling and without some strong leadership it wont be here long. It’s really a shame since the area is great for weekend trips or a break from the beach.

Downtown OWA is free, and a nice place to shop and walk.

By CrackedLCD |

Not a lot going on at Downtown OWA, even a few years after it was constructed. But what's here is mostly unique and mostly interesting. A great tea and spice shop, an arcade, several restaurants, an ice cream shop and more. Plus, it's just great to stroll around and enjoy the scenery.

Hire more ride operators

By anjpanj55 |

Really wish you would have enough ride operators on the kid rides at all times instead of only having a few open and alternating. We waited at the odd hour for 15 minutes and still nobody started the odd hour rides. My son only got to ride a few rides and then we had to go. This could be run better especially on a busy spring weekend day.

I had such a great time at Groovy Goat it was delicious and the firework were awesome. Would recommend to anyone.

Terrible rules and setup

By Justin K |

WORST PLACE EVER.. ENTIRE PARK FULL OF SHOPS AND FOOD/drink places yet you can’t bring into water park. Make no sense. Rethink your plans on ppl wanting to return here and spend money here which is also insanely high. 75 bucks a person is ridiculous for the crap food you get inside water park.

Great indoor water park amusement park is average

By Greg2117 |

This is a phenomenon indoor water park. It has several tube slides, body slides and a lazy river. The new wave pool is also awesome and try your hand at boogie boarding or surfing on the wave simulator. There is a cafe inside and lockers for your stuff. Weekdays are less busy as you would imagine. The amusement park has a couple of kid rides and one big coaster. Decent since you have to buy the combo to get the water park. Highly recommend.

Not worth the money

By Lorri L |

I will start by saying it was my choice to continue with my day as not to disappoint my grandchildren after we were here. First impression, rude employee. When we asked why so many rides are shut down and others on hourly rotation, she stated short staffed. After continuing the conversation as to why we should pay full price for a park that is barely open she rudely stated you can work here if you would like, we are hiring. So, moving on to an amusement park that had very few rides open and then on to a crowded water park. Even though it was over 80 degrees the outside area of the water park was closed and only a couple of slides inside were open. The website stated the wave pool is now open. We basically paid $320 for about three amusement park rides and an indoor pool. The concept behind this place is great. I just think they are having trouble getting it off the ground. People will not continue to pay full price for less than half the experience very long. I really wanted to enjoy myself I just couldn't get over the rude employee at the start of my day and the fact that we spent so much money for what we got.

Still a ways to go

By Britt07 |

We went on the Sunday after the 4th of July holiday. We were very surprised by the lack of people there. It seemed like a ghost town. We only walked around downtown Owa and did some shopping. This is a newer area and many retail spaces are still empty. We did enjoy the few shops we did go to. Once all the shops are filled I think this place will be a wonderful spot for shopping and strolling.

Expensive and Hot

By FLDante |

Went with a school group to both parks. Very expensive! Once inside the park the concessions are high priced not surprisingly, but it’s a bit much for what’s offered. Staff was nice and friendly. The kids had fun on the rides although some were closed. Everything was open at the water park. Very safe with many lifeguards. There is almost NO shade in the amusement park which really hampered our enjoyment. I’m a FL native and it was brutal with no shade. I’m sure it will be nice once the trees get larger but in the meantime, more shade sails would be a good option.

My husband and I met our daughter at Wahlburgers for lunch. We enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere. Then, we visited Fairhope Soap Company. Again, the service was exceptional.

Wow! Where is the Marketing for this Jewel!!

By Franklin M |

We live about an hour away and were looking for something to do on a Sunday. We looked up OWA and it said that we could walk around the amusement park without paying if we were not riding. We hold season passes for Disney and love the park atmosphere so this worked for us. Yes, we were able to walk around the park for free. The whole area is absolutely immaculate! Everything is kept clean and still looks brand new. Even though there were not a lot of rides, all of them appeared to be high end and unique. The downtown area carried the same music and cleanliness. We had a snack at the Crazy Donut, which was a unique experience. While there, we looked at the OWA brochure and saw that there was a Legends show down the street in an hour. We decided to check it out. Wow! What a fantastic show!!! For every bit of two hours the impersonating performers poured their hearts out entertaining a 3/4 filled theater. I have seen the Legends show in Las Vegas and a couple of other places. The band, the lights, the talent and the theater made this an amazing experience. After the show, there was a dance show in the street that was geared toward kids. They all had a great time interacting with the show entertainers. I would think if there were better marketing, this place would be packed!

Exploring

By dennis n |

Went to.park for first time spent time in downtown area of park. This area is probably 25% occupied. There are a couple of good restaurants along with other shops. We found the best thing going for them is the Brandon Styles show. This is a must see for all ages. The amusement park looks first class thou I did not use it. Potential is unlimited a casino would do wonders for owa

Not impressed

By Bamabchbm |

Our crew decided to go to owa and we were horribly disappointed. The cost to get in was outrageous $175 for our group (35$ a piece). The rides were ok at best nothing special also the lines were long. Place might be fun if they’d put in a casino.

Better than expected

By BMoore12345 |

If they did not have their most popular ride down for the entire day, would have given 5 star rating. They did a great job of trying to offer shade, places to sit/rest and rides for all ages. We had baby, toddler, teens and seniors and everyone enjoyed it. A little pricey, but one of the few things in the area worth the money.

Small, cramped, overpriced

By Feuk Y |

Price is very high for what it is, small indoors, no tubes, long wait and prices at snack bar. No indoor only pricing, outdoor closed due to weather and still had to pay full price. Indoors is about the size of a football field. They have 5 adult slides, a small laY river and a small kids area. 68 per person? Just crazy. Go 20 minutes south to Waterville USA it sits on 20 acres and the admission prices half

Worth a visit

By PeggyLou |

The park is very pretty and clean. No parking fee and free entry for non-riders. Bought our tickets online while standing in the one open ticket line which was long and barely moving. It's not a huge park, but good mix of rides. Has a splash pad which wasn't open but would be great for a break from the heat in the summer. Lines were rather long due to precautions and the way they were seating riders. Understandable, but having more employees at each ride could help. I can only imagine how long the waits would be during the peak season. We did find it frustrating that some rides would close briefly then open back up which honestly seemed like a staffing issue rather than "adjustments" as we were told, because it happened many times on several different rides. Seemed like when an employee needed to go on break they would just close the ride? Didn't walk around the "downtown" area or visit any shops or restaurants, but can see the draw for those who enjoy that. Huge waterpark under construction. Overall my family enjoyed it and at the spring promo price I felt it was a good value. Would consider returning when the waterpark opens.

Family outing!

By Tjack36 |

The rides were pretty good, only wish they more for older kids and adults. Unfortunately, we ended up leaving the restaurant known for their burgers. The waiter wasn't very professional.

Small but has a lot of room to grow!

By Caspertherat |

Roller coaster is short but very fun. Limited rides but has large amount of space to grow. Great addition to area especially restaurants and shopping.

Great Place!

By soplaw |

No long lines. Lots of rides. Splash pad to cool off. Reasonable prices. Small enough to sit and have a beer while kids ride the rides;) The Rolling Thunder rocks!

Great family time

By Brenda P |

My son treated his kids, grandkids and me to a trip to Owa amusement park in Foley, Al. We had a very good time. It has rides that cater to the very young and the adult crowd. There were no lines and you got to ride everything. It is clean with no trash laying around anywhere. They have large human misting areas that was great. Mist was so light you could eat in it and not get anything wet. They have a splash pad for young ones but adults are allowed there also. You can't bring outside food or drink. It is a small park but worth taking your family to visit. Go online to visitowa.com and get a discount on tickets if you print them.

No outside food and drinks!

By Anne W |

Just want others to be aware that OWA is now enforcing their no food and no drinks policy in the park. The kids and I have had an annual membership for the past year and bringing plastic water bottles and protein bars has never been an issue until yesterday. I would suggest to OWA that if healthy snacks and water can no longer be brought in, then healthy food options should be made available at Grub and Baja Grill and water fountains should be more clearly noted, especially on those very hot summer days. Otherwise, it's a fun and easy day trip with the kids.

Waste of money

By Cindi |

This park is the biggest rip off at $70 per person. The indoor park is nice but theme park rides had only 4 that were working. The $70 is for the combo ticket (indoor park and theme park). You can buy only the theme park ticket for a lesser price but there is no option to purchase just the indoor water park. We should have gotten a clue when the parking lot was empty. The tickets are so overpriced. If we could have purchased just the indoor water park tickets separately we would have done so but there is no option to do that. Waste of $70 per person.

Awesome amusement park!

By kielmc |

From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, we had a great time! The first person we spoke with at the ticket window was so kind, friendly, and helpful, it felt like we were being taken care of. The park was incredibly clean, the staff attentive, and the rides really fun!

We went on a day when storms were predicted, and thankfully they never came, so we virtually had the park to ourselves. My kids, ages 11, 10, & 8 had a blast, all day long, and I had to drag them off of the rides and out of the park (after 6 or 7 hours).

I also thought it was really cool that we could leave the park and come back - we'll keep this in mind for our next trip! Might have been cool to come in the morning, rest a bit in the heat of the day, and then come back again at night!

A Great Value for a Day of Fun

By J Titus |

We had a fun-filled day at OWA. As a group of 6 adults and a 4-year old, it was the best money spent on our trip in the Gulf Shores area ($20/personI). We stayed for 5 hours, making one circle around the park and hitting almost every ride, doing some more than once. The park and bathrooms were clean. The rides were a bit out of the ordinary. If we had more time, there would have been more to explore in the downtown area, arcade, splash pad and special event area. The rides for little ones were especially plentiful. Fyi: the Haunted Mansion was a little too much for our 4 yr old.

Love It!!!

By AlabamaAngel |

My family visited OWA on our recent vacation. We had a great time! First of all, let me recommend the Groovy GOAT for dinner or snacks. It’s a fun sports bar/grille with great food. The Groovy GOAT is connected to OWA’s arcade, which is fantastic. The arcade is new and clean and the prizes were decent. There was a lot of fun games for the entire family here. We really loved the fish bowl and corn hole type game. We played for over an hour on $20 which is pretty good in my book.
During the month of June, the OWA Amusement Park ran a special where everyone gets in for $20 after 6:00 pm during the week. That’s cheaper than the county fair! The park was clean and the employees were super friendly. You could tell that the employees have been trained well. Our favorite rides were the Flutter By and Rockin’ Raft. It wasn’t busy at all. We had to stand in line for the Flying Carousel for five minutes and my husband stood in line for a few of the thrill rides for five to ten minutes but other than that we just walked onto all the rides. I hope the Amusement Park stays in business because they have some really great rides and this place could really be something special!
OWA also has a new, clean Alvin’s Island that had some really great items. They also have other stores located in Downtown OWA, as well.
Lastly, my family thoroughly enjoyed GLOWA (held in Downtown OWA), which is a nighttime outdoor dance party and fountain show. It takes place at 8:30 Tuesday-Sunday in the summer and it’s FREE. Don’t miss it!
Overall, OWA was really great and we will definitely go back on our next Gulf Coast vacation.

Clean, Family Friendly Fun!

By ExeterToTalkeetna |

Spent the day at the park and was amazed by the clean, family environment. Everyone was super friendly and cordial! For the price, I thought it was a good value. They have enough rides to appease children and adults. Highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Relaxing and Entertaining

By Randolph2002 |

We enjoy coming down and just walking and enjoying the scenery and entertainment. Kids enjoy being able to run free and we can just relax and watch them. Some decent restaurants nearby and a good arcade, and some good dessert places too!

Great Park

By KendraE77 |

Not a huge amusement park, but they are still building onto it. Very clean park and the rides were great! There were several rides for my one year old grandbaby. The rollercoaster was a thrill as i love coasters! This was a good one! Friendly staff. Loved the setup with little shops and Wahlburgers just outside the front gate to go have a bite to eat

4th of July spectacular

By Chase B |

This place was amazing. Went with my family to the fireworks show and a few other nights. The restaurants were amazing and the park was so much fun. Ended the day with a sweet treat from Herseheys ice cream parlor which had a great Gatsby vibe and the ice cream was incredible. I highly highly recommend going here if you are in the area.

Fantastic day!

By frankie1902 |

We were there when they opened & stayed until they closed! One of the first things we noticed was how friendly & helpful everyone was. The park is so clean & the restrooms are very well placed. Even though thunder & lightning forced everything to close, there is shopping, food, & the arcade for everyone to wait out the short time until we could return to the rides. When we left, everyone was wanting to return as soon as possible!

Wahlburgers

By Theresa B |

Great food wish we had more time to visit more of the shops & the amusement park. Great atmosphere with friendly people.

Weekend Trip

By Jeremy M |

Took my kids and some friends for a weekend trip. Prices are reasonable and they do a great job of keeping the park friendly and clean when makes it inviting. I really like that they have rides for all ages as my kids are 5 years apart and never want to ride the same rides.

Dinner and a walk around the amusement park

By Freedom763606 |

We went out for dinner and then decided to drive over to OWA and walk through the amusement park. The rides were open, families were having fun and laughing. It was a pleasant experience

New manager needed

By Thomas C |

Show was fair, kinda sounds like Johnny Cash. However, the manager would not turn the super bright spotlight away from audience on left side. Really need to get someone who has common sense to set this up and check to make sure they are not blinding people.

Date night

By smoore215 |

We are so excited to have OWA here so close to home. We have been pass holders since the park opened. The park is so clean and nicely laid out. The employees are always so personable and pleasant. We can’t wait to see the park grow and prosper!! We will definitely be yearly pass holders every year!

OWA

By Echo1235 |

OWA was great! My kids are 17, 14, and 11. All 3 had a blast! Momma did too! Our favorite was the roller coaster. The Park was super clean and I loved the rocking chairs for the parents to sit in while waiting.

Cinnabon

By 12sher |

They just opened Cinnabon in late fall. Nice treat for a cold day or night. Aunt Annie's Pretzel is also, part of the store if your looking for a fast snack for children.

Not crowded with good entertainment

By Tami007 |

Was not crowded at all . No long wait lines for rides . Not an over abundance of rides but enough to make the kids happy . Had a great band I just wish I knew ahead of time so I had my own comfortable chair . We had fun tasting the moonshine too.

Little Park, Big Fun!

By BaronessJ |

We visited OWA for the first time on January 1, 2019. It was a fun way to start the new year on our family vacation. Although it was chilly day and had rained sporadically, we still had a great time. Because of the holiday and weather, we were very happy to almost have the park and ride to ourselves! This is not a huge amusement park at all, but plenty of rides for everyone in the family. The big rollercoaster was a favorite.

Overpriced & Not Fully Functioning

By Hannah B |

We visited OWA in April of 2021 and had a GREAT experience. The park was full and functioning. Some people in our party bought the non-rider passes which allowed us to enjoy the day together at a reasonable price. Fast forward to April of 2023, we visited OWA and tried out Tropic Falls, the water portion of the park. My daughter was so excited and it was GREAT to her! However, from an adult’s point of view, there were quite a few things wrong. The outdoor pool was closed. The kid slides were closed. Half of the rides outside were closed. There’s no such thing as non-rider passes anymore - all adults have to pay full price, even if you don’t do anything. I don’t know how this place is going to stay open and functioning in Alabama of all places. People are just looking for something fun to do with their kids, and it’s honestly a ripoff. The only reason they’re getting 3 stars is because my daughter thought the place was amazing. I, on the other hand, think they have some work to do.

Great evening stop

By Amy B |

We arrived around 6:30pm, so it was the discounted price of $20/person. Basically, this is a nice area of shops, restaurants and a small amusement park. The amusement park is all that we did. I would say half the rides are for teens and adults and the other half is for younger children. We only had teens so we only used half of the park so we were through in less than two hours.

The best!

By Meh |

So nice. No lines, not to big your exhausted from walking around, splash pad was perfect ending to hot roller coaster day.

We will be back !!

By Cierra S |

Me and My family enjoyed ourselves. It was my son 5th Birthday he was over excited , Everything was clean staff was nice. Can’t wait to go back !!!!

Clean Modern Amusement Park

By Davidpat48116 |

What a great way to spend a good part of a day, riding roller coasters and some very interesting flat rides. I do not agree with wiltum that the pricing is high. Pricing seems reasonable considering the ride line-up. He is correct that the food options are limited inside. I suggest you get a hand stamp and enjoy one of the signature venues in the shopping village. The only thing really missing is a great old-fashioned wooden roller coaster like the one 5 miles down the road that is being demolished this winter. Perhaps OWA will consider rescuing it?

Do better!

By Vivian B |

Not enough floats to accommodate all visitors. Lockers in the water park didn’t work. Way overcrowded and the “Wave Pool” barely brought a ripple. We were the only ones in the Mystic mansion. No one in line and asked if we could stay for another experience, but the guy said we had to depart and walk all the way around…again, no one waiting to ride.

Nice place for food & fun

By sharonkmills |

I've been to Paula Dean's here. It's always very good. I live 40 minutes away and I've been here 4 times in the past year. Food is always excellent and so is service. I'm a little disappointed that they took meatloaf off the menu.

I've also been to Murder Creek distillery here. Awesome moonshine distillery. Awesome! The employees were friendly and welcoming. You can sample for free. When you enter, it looks like it would be expensive but it's really not at $19.99 a jar. The only negative here is I think they need a larger sign to let people know the price because we walked the entire store twice before we saw a tiny two inch by 2 inch sign with price on it. Lots of flavors. If you're not used to drinking moonshine, it will be a little "hot" for you, but keep an open mind because it's really good mixed with Sprite, lemonade, tea, etc. They serve daiquiris too but I didn't try them. Cool silicone drinking cups that glow in the dark. Really cool store. Loved it. I live about 40 minutes away, so I'll be back soon.

There is a small amusement park for kids and also some water activities. It's safe here. You never feel unsafe and you don't have to worry about your kids a lot, however, very crowded in tourist season.

There's ice cream shops, 2 mostly seafood restaurants, a small tiki bar, an Alvin's Island souvenir store, an overpriced gimmicky jewelry store (only place I don't love here). I haven't seen the magician/ comedy show or the famous singer impersonator shows, so I can't say about those.

This place is still being added to each year.

Great amusement park with top of the line rides for all ages.

The staff was super-friendly and the park was amazingly clean. We had two kids with us (9 & 11) and they loved every ride.
Thomas (employee) was fantastic and enjoys his job. He was very energetic and made us all laugh on the ride he was operating.

Great Park for a one day trip

By Joel M |

My wife and I took our 6 year old on our way to the beach. The park was not crowded and very clean. We got there around 10 and were able to ride everything and have lunch by around 4. The staff was very friendly and helpful all around the park. Most of the park's rides are geared toward younger children like my son but there is enough to keep older kids interested. It was nice in the afternoon to grab a beer, sit in one of the rocking chairs set up around the park and watch our son ride. Overall we really enjoyed our day at OWA and will definitely stop on our way to the beach next year.

Money-hungry company that cares nothing about its patrons.

By michelle a |

SCAMMERS!!!!! In January, I purchased an annual pass for my little one. The ONLY reason I purchased a pass was because they had a new policy that there was no charge for non-riders. I am unable to ride the rides. Well, we went to the park once, then the pandemic started. My elderly parents took her to the park yesterday and now there's a $5.00 charge for non-riders!!! That's not a lot of money.... BUT they cannot change a contract when it's convenient for them! I think they're trying to make up for losses due to Covid but they're not the only ones suffering. They cannot be trusted and don't think anything about changing the rules to benefit them financially. I sent a complaint to BBB. This park is way over-priced for what they have to offer.

Must not want our buisness

By 3843 |

I teach at an area high school and was looking for an adventure time for our students (50 students and 6 chaperones). I contacted OWA on line and tried to coordinate a visit. Unfortunately, I could not get anyone to work with me. I got one e-mail that said "We will get back to you shortly to help plan your visit" but I never received anything else. We ended up going to Busch Gardens. I'm only going to work so hard to spend a considerable amount of money at a place that obviously doesn't want my business.

Family vacation

By sweeneyangela26 |

I absolutely loved the park and my kids had a great time. I can’t wait till the park is complete so we can come back!

Our 1st visit

By monatolbert |

It was our 1st visit there and we loved every single minute! The park was clean and easy to get around. I'm particularly impressed with the safety checks that were done each time the rides began. I also thought it was wonderful to have an airconditoned place for people to sit down and enjoy their lunch. My only disappointment was that everyone who entered the park were charged the same price, even when not riding any of the rides. My disabled husband was charged the same amount as my daughter and i, when clearly he was unable to ride any of the rides.

Neat place

By Tom v |

I can see this place becoming a destination to want to visit. We did not going into the amusement park there, because someone was having a private party there and must have rented the whole place out. It is a big amusement park with one heck of a coaster ride which looked like a lot of fun for someone that enjoys that type of ride. The shopping in the huge retail outlet, was a little limited because it is so new I suppose, but what was there, were very unique shops. I would definitely go back next year and am sure more stores will join as it matures.

Christmas Show

By LindaHilley |

I love that we have a New Attraction Hear where we live however they really need more shops to open up.

Wasn’t impressed

By Sherriandphil |

Wanted to check it out while here with my sister and her young children. Although there was hardly anyone there so we didn’t have to wait in line to ride any of the rides, still didn’t think it was worth the admission price. Perhaps it would have been worth the discounted evening prices they have been advertising for Monday thru Thursday as we went on a Friday and paid full price. We then ate at the Groovy Goat and honestly wasn’t impressed with that either. Don’t see this venue being very successful long term unless they attract much larger crowds and to do that, they really need to step up their game. On the positive side, the park was very clean and neat.

Loved it!

By crystal g |

Had a great time! A little small but completely worth it. Will most definitely be back. The staff were all so helpful and always smiling. Thanks OWA!

Brand new Amusement Park

This place is not just for the kids... Shopping restaurants all reasonably priced Lots to do and see and it is only getting better. Originally designed by the Blue Collar Guys .. Very clean

Great Up & Coming Locale

By Nicole F |

This is a great area to stay on vacation! It's just far enough from the beach (about 20min), but close enough to still have that beach vacation. There's a lot to do in OWA from activities, shopping, & food. We stayed at the Towneplace Suites (one of our best stays with the friendliest staff), which was busy Friday & Sat due to sporting events & a concert, but our Sunday was more subdued as that crowd left.

Fun Family Day at OWA (Our Personal Park)

By Bryan M |

Our family had read reviews and watched some videos about OWA and The Park at OWA and were excited to visit while in the area on vacation. We weren’t disappointed.

We went to OWA in March during the first week it was opened for afternoon/evening hours during weekdays. We were surprised to drive right up to the entrance and park for FREE. Buying tickets (only $19.99) and getting inside was quick and easy. There was a temperature check before entering.

We were able to walk right up to get on nearly every ride never waiting for more than one group in front of us. Half of the park is adult rides and on the other side of the roller coaster, Rolling Thunder, is the kids area. Some of those rides are for small kids, others, like teacups were fun for all in our family. The ride attendants were all friendly and helpful and cleaned rides between riders.

We were able to do so many rides in such a short amount of time that we were all feeling a little woozy after a few hours. We had such a good time that we came back a few days later.

I would definitely recommend a visit to OWA, it was super fun, super clean and not crowded and probably 1/3 of what we would have spent riding inferior rides at the arcade/go-cart places closer to the beach.

Vacation

By Heather S |

Had a wonderful time with our 4 year old. Great rides for all ages. There is plenty to do for everyone. We love the street party dances

Half of rides shut down

By HburgMS |

Me, my wife, and 3 grandchildren are here right now. This is the BIGGEST RIPOFF EVER. Half of the rides are closed. They don’t have enough workers so some rides operate during odd hours and then the others during the even hours. However, they still charge FULL PRICE. We planned our vacation just for this park. We would have stayed at a hotel on the beach if we had known this instead of in Foley. Thanks OWA for ruining our vacation. You won’t get a chance to do it again.

By Leah |

We absolutely loved it here. There were little to no wait times and the rides were super fun. It’s a great place to spend a day. We loved walking through downtown OWA, too. The buildings are so nice and the food smells amazing. Lots of empty shops, hopefully they will be filled soon!

Shops, Restaurants, Rides

By Chipperhigh2 |

Stopped at OWA today. Walked around the stores and restaurants. A very nice selection. We will come back to see a show. The rides do not open till March. Great place to spend a day.

Dark at Night and Not Safe!

By BoxCarWilly73 |

We went to dinner at Walhburger's and when we drove up at 5:30pm there were "NO LIGHTS ON" in the parking lot or inside the park - They did come on after we entered for dinner? But we did not feel safe at all and we walked in the side entrance - A lot of shops are closed for the winter? THERE WAS NO SECURITY ANYWHERE TO BE SEEN! And in this day and time that is important, very important - Honest to goodness you could get robbed back in the shops part of the park and who would you tell? Nobody! We are locals and had a party of 8 with us, but will not go back until spring - OWA, you are asking for trouble if someone gets robbed or hurt - I can not believe you are running this kind of operation.

First Visit - Downtown OWA

By Don |

Interesting venue, but most storefronts are vacant...a few restaurants and a couple of retail stores were all that were open. A Paula Deen’s is supposed to open there, but no updates on it since the May 2018 announcement, according to an OWA worker we spoke with. A lot of possibility, though.

Worth the Money

By ALRMC |

We took our grands, ages 9 and 4 during the twighlight hours special. There was no waiting in lines and the boys rode all they wanted, The Park is very clean and well kept. There were not many people there; hope the Park makes it!

Great place for teens and families

By Kim P |

Went to the car show which was fun and kids went on rides and really enjoyed themselves. Eats were good and plenty to see and do for the day.

Dissatisfied

By Victoria B |

First, I would like to say I have been to OWA amusement park several times before and never had any issues. Yesterday, iI brought my family to go to water park and from the beginning had a terrible experience. Ella at the ticket counter was very rude and condescending and definitely shouldn’t be working that area with such poor customer service. The website is misleading as they had old info on there. The prices are ridiculous high and you will have to pay for the water park and theme park as a combo. They will not allow you to just purchase a water park ticket. My grand-babies did get in for free because they three years old, however, even though I was gonna watch them in the kiddy area I still have to pay the combo price. That to me is a rip off knowing I can’t and won’t be able to do any of the other stuff. I really think the company should come up with a different system on purchasing tickets. Needless to say I won’t be back.

Pickleball

By Lisa K |

The pickleball setup at OWA is really nice. I especially appreciated the friendly atmosphere. It's a good spot for pickleball.

Super Fun But...

By sidallee |

Super fun time. Rides for all ages. The adult rides are a little cramped if you’re a larger person. I’m not talking fat, just a bigger man or a woman who is fluffier. I weigh 170 and could barely get out of the swings. The food is great in the park, no complaints there. Food is about average priced as any amusement park just better tasting. We ate at the groovy goat one night. 6 people dinner, one appetizer-the nachos-and 2 rainbow 🌈 drinks (supposed to have rum in it, just no, didn’t taste that at all) = $174 Can’t eat there again this trip 😱 Loved Alvin Island shop as always, and the Hershey ice cream shop was delicious. Loved the little Glo light show, kids enjoyed that! Overall 5 stars hands down! Clean, short lines, great shops, great fun.

Fat Guys Beware

By Getaway67453921996 |

Fat people beware, they weigh you to go on the water slides, if you weigh more than 250 lbs, your out of luck. They will not let you ride. I am 6'3" 260 lbs, was not allowed to ride. Should charge less for us fatties!

Stay beachside

By KnoxTravler |

It’s trying to be Myrtle Beach but sadder. Half of the shops and rides are open. Feels like visiting an abandoned amusement park. Go To The Beach!

Great new park

By Harry32547 |

I took my grand daughter to the park this spring. This park is new so everything is working and clean. One side is for small children and the other side is for teens and adults. This is not a Hugh park, you can complete your trip there in one day. At the entrance to park are restaurants and stores. You do not have to eat inside park.

Still under Construction

By Phillip O |

Tourist geared Amusement Park. Looks like 85% empty and lots still under construction.
Hershey Ice Cream is ridiculously overpriced! Paid just under $8 for 2 small scoops of ice cream, and than got hit up for a tip! Do yourself a favor and go to Matt's Ice Cream in Orange Beach, much better. The Groovy Goat sports bar and grill is cool and I really like the Patio Bar, worth a visit. This place has lots of potential. Lets hope they keep the locals in mind and don't make this a typical tourist trap.

Too crowded

By maria c |

It was so packed, we had to wait 2h15min to ride the roller Coster, the water park was pa packed there where no available floats. We spent athe day 10am till dark. Maybe road 10 rides and slides. I think they should limit capacity. Make sure you take your kids out of school to go. I think it could be really great if the crowds where less. You would have a chance to ride a water slide or float on the lazy river. My complaint isn't about the park. Just spending that kind of money to spend 90% of the time waiting in line

Pretty place

By 243DLP |

We strolled around the downtown area of OWA. The shops that were open were fun - especially the donut shop! The fountain and beautiful walkway are nice. It will be even better with more shops!

Ousted a grandmother

By Kitty D |

Took my child there for his birthday and took my 66 year old mother. She cannot ride any rides so she just wanted to enjoy watching and taking pictures for memories of her grandchild. They wouldn’t let her in without paying full price. I think that is ridiculous and shows greed. All she wanted was to watch her grandchild on his 5th birthday party having fun. Will never go there again.

OWA is Family Fun

By Darnelle W |

The rides at OWA are exciting! Never have to wait in line. Super clean. OWA has rides for all ages. We bought passes for our entire family as birthday presents. Best bang for your fun buck!

Rides are pretty intense. Be prepared. This is no baby park!

Pretty cool

By sha |

We went on reopening weekend. Alot of rides for my 4 year old. He had a blast. Food was a bit pricey but good. The park was nice and clean. My only suggestion is they need to train the employees on hospitality. I also enjoyed not having to pay because i didnt ride anything.

NICE

By Taylor M |

Great place. Kids really enjoyed it. My mother-in-law and I got injured on the Rollin' Thunder rollercoaster. That thing has some kick. Will be back!

Baddd Experience

By Sandra Kyles |

The worse park I ever attended!! The staff was very very rude . All the rides was soaking wet and The attendants had towels and wasn’t wiping the kiddie rides off. We Ask several of them did they have towels , some said no and some said yes but still we had to wipe our own ride with what we had.Food; they need to stop selling the chicken tenders, they was absolutely horrible, no matter how we ordered them they was not good at all. The fries were ok enough to eat. Most of the staff members acted like they was slow and un concerned. We will not be visiting there ever again. The lines were ridiculous, the manager told me they were understaffed. They only had two lines open and the young lady was trying to put wristbands on every person that purchased the water park pass and that held the line up even more until the manager came and told her just give each person who paid for a water pass the bands and let them put the band on themselves!! It was absolutely ridiculous the way those lines were. They really need better staffing and they have poor management I am assuming to hire associates that treat guest like that (being rude) is what I am preferring too.

Friendliest Ride Operators!

By Sara B |

We went to spend the day at the OWA amusement park with our kids. The park was very clean and wide open. The ride conductors were the friendliest staff I’ve ever seen anywhere! These people were smiley and happy to talk if you wanted to and kind to the kids. Give those people a raise while you’ve got them!! My husband lost our keys ON THE BIG ROLLER COASTER and the staff were immediately super helpful and we got them back pretty quickly. The only downside was that the park has odd hours and limited staff, so rides were open in rotation and we didn’t even get to enter the park until 12. Check the hours of operation before you go! While we were waiting for the rides to open up we ate at the Goat. Food was great and staff friendly, but again they were short on staff so the wait was a bit longer than we’d have liked. Over all it was a fun experience!

Good for a couple hours

By tumbleweedchris |

The Park at OWA is a fairly small amusement park that is part of a larger complex of shops and restaurants. It consists of a couple roller coasters, several flat rides, and a handful of kiddie rides. The feature attraction, Rollin' Thunder, is a pretty decent roller coaster despite being a little shaky in spots. The collection of flat rides is good, if you are into intense ones. Nearly all of the flat rides the park offers have a pretty high nausea rating attached. The Alabama Whama and Air Racer are particularly fun. The park was nearly empty on a Saturday morning in mid August and I got everything I wanted to do done in a matter of a couple hours. It's a park that needs to be filled out a bit more to raise my interest to anything above average. It is, however, a clean park with no lines.

Nice park

By navypoppop |

We agree with most of the replies that this is an exceptionally clean park and amusement area. No litter or trash anywhere. The shop areas were mostly open but quite a few empty shops. The amusement area was very quaint with just enough rides to keep most kids involved. We were pleased with the visit.

Still being developed

By PoppaLoppa |

Stayed a weekend here with friends and really enjoyed it. We visited the amusement park and ate at a couple of the restaurants. Everything was great. The only reason for the low rating is because 90% of the place was still empty. It has great potential to be a premier attraction.

Roller coasters!

By Krista M |

My kids and I were very impressed with the layout of the amusement park. We found everyone that worked at OWA to be kind and helpful. We loved the rides!

Neat place to visit and stroll through

By J D |

Strolled around for a late afternoon visit and their Marti Gras Parade. Unfortunately, the rain storm choose to pass through the area at same time so watching parade was wet experience but we enjoyed the Hersey's ice cream shop and dinner at Groovy Goat.

Owa Fun

By LindaHilley |

I loved that we have a New Place to bring family and friends. I was not happy with the idea that even if you can't ride the rides you half to pay for a full ticket. I asked about it and was told rudely that's our policy period.

Potential but not there

By JMiles100 |

The big coaster ridet never runs. Most of the other ride are spinning. Clouds are very small, so you can get on rides quickly, but that’ll exvitment of the peplople would add to the fun. We did not renew our membership.

Unexpected

By Running short |

The place has navigational challenges within its parking lot at the park. It was a welcomed surprise. Family fun, shopping and food.

Extremely average and overpriced.

By Kala G |

This is a $15-$20 ticket park at best, but you’re going to pay over $30 even with military discounts. And if you have children that are 4 or older you’re going to pay 30+ dollars even with military discounts and they’re not gonna get to ride very much stuff. Almost every ride in this park is some kind of spinning or twisty ride, so if you get dizzy or do not like those types of rides don’t waste your time and money. The most amazing part of the entire experience was that there are zero lines because it is almost empty, but when amusement park is empty that should tell you something about the amusement park. Overall it is extremely overpriced, the rides are ver disappointing and if you have small children you can almost do nothing.

It's pretty.

By Angelize1999 |

The grounds are beautiful. Wasn't much opened when we visited on a weekday. We did stop to the souvenir shop but their seemed to be no one working there. We rang the bell.. no one came. So we left. The candy store was fun to look at. Maybe on a weekend things would be better.

Just Donate to a good charity instead

By Brandon C |

Overpriced, overcrowded, understaffed, and unorganized. Couldn’t pay me to go back to this place. May check out the arcade and shops nearby in the future, but a hard NO on the water and amusement park.

Ehh

By Theresa G |

I don’t know what I was expecting but it wasn’t that lol I know they’re not finished so they still get stars but there are not enough rides for what you pay. You end up riding the same two over and over again. It is a very nice place with great restaurants you can go to without having to pay to get in the park. Kind of a city walk thing so it will be great and I’m excited to try it again when there is more.

Checked It Out During Business Trip

By Kelly M |

Beautiful park. Rides for all ages and good places to eat. Non riders can walk thru the amusement park for free. Great place to spend the day.

Birthday Trip

By Kenney J |

We took my nephew to OWA for his 4th birthday. Overall the experience was good. Some of the rides wouldn't allow him to get on that were marked "family friendly" on the park map. If the map was labeled better, it would have saved several hard conversations.

Worth a Visit

By goseedo |

Two years ago, we watched with much anticipation as construction and landscaping were taking place and some rides were carefully carted into position. Today, OWA is still not a finished project. My assumption is that economics is weighing heavily on other potential store / restaurant owners and investors. There is a ride park, which seems to be clean but overpriced. There are little streets to walk (free), with a vintage design, offering a few shops (magic, beachwear, soap, spice and tea, etc.) and eateries (Wahlburgers, Hershey's, Cinnabon, Auntie Anne's, Trattoria (pizza), Crazy Donuts, and Groovy Goat) - all higher in pricing than expected when taking into consideration the current "still getting up and running" phase. Apparently in the works is a Paula Deen restaurant, a higher-end hotel (in addition to the TownePlace Suites already in place), an RV resort, condos, and a water park.
Parking is free. There is no admission to the streets at OWA (just the amusement park). It's easy to figure out and feels perfectly safe. I have the feeling the planners and Poarch Indians are hoping to mimic the The Island in Pigeon Forge, TN, and I wish them success. Perhaps the belief is that additions (of hotels, restaurants, retail stores, and such) should be made steadily rather than hastily. With appropriate goals and improvising on ways to keep folks entertained, this can certainly be a long-term asset to Baldwin County. As for now, it's worth a visit, but just keep in mind that it's still in progress.

Affordable FUN!!!!

By Gmm M |

Great place to spend the day. Fun for all ages. Will return for sure...Really a great place to visit.

Hmmm Not Sure

By Nursequita |

I don’t think this place will be open for too long... They need to do something? The place is dead, empty, too quiet to be amusement park, no shade, too open... I felt like we were in a Western Movie and all the people left town... If they bring music groups to bring in the crowd maybe people would come waaaaaaaay here and enjoy themselves. $20 fee to get in should have warned me not to go. The donut shops was cute. Ice Cream shop was good. I will not go back too dead

I'M OVER OWA!!!!

By P K |

I had to go back to the car to take a few snacks and water because I didn't see the sign at the entry.... And I was not allowed to pass through. It's ridiculous that you can't bring in an unopened bottle of water, but you can bring in containers with liquid in them... ( wasn't checking that).. It's hard enough to pay the overpriced fee to get in... But 4$ for a small bottle of water... Overcrowded! Not enough mats! Staff seem nice.. but only 1 register open for food! Long Line! Which is stupid being your not allowed to bring any snack in! Last year I purchased 2 season passes and everything was not so strict. WILL GO TO DESTIN NEXT TIME!

Expensive

By Sarah T |

For the size and number of rides, it is too expensive for most families. Food options inside are very limited.

Excellent park

By Almorgan21 |

Price was well worth this experience. Took my 8 year old son and he rode nearly all the rides. He was not tall enough for the large Blue coaster, but I really enjoyed it. Most of the rides went in a circle- so may not be best place for people who don’t like those type rides. Park was super clean and new looking. Everyone was polite and helpful. We went on a Thursday and it was not crowded at all. We had a blast and will go back next year. Look forward to seeing this place grow! Parking was free which was a nice surprise too.

Wahlburgers for dinner

By Vicki V |

I enjoy going to Wahlburgers to eat. I've been there over 10 times. Love it. I also discovered a boutique that I will visit every time I eat at Wahlburgers. Great donut shop there called Crazy Donut Shop.

Day trip out exploring

By oceanbound81 |

A friend and I were out on a day trip exploring the area. This place will be very nice when completed. Several nice shops and restaurants as well as an amusement park are open. I will be back to enjoy the amusement park. I would recommended anyone going thru or near Foley yo stop by. I'm often visiting beaches, and small towns and there were a lot of "gems" we found around the area. This was nice as it is not crowded yet and very clean.

Fun place to visit

By JohnPatsi |

We went there on the Saturday before Labor Day with Heather spectacular firework show. We also had some wine and Ford and some of the restaurants there. It is a fun place to go and walk and hang out and spend a lovely evening.

OWA amusement park

By Leo L |

Nice and quaint amusement park. Not overwhelming, it's the right size, for the right price. We are going back to experience the eateries, that are soon to open.

Horrible prices for bad experience

By NorthStar30691256134 |

Horrible experience we may never go back. I can't believe that it has gone down hill like it has. Please beware.
Please get stuff fixed so family can enjoy it for the HIGH price we pay.

Fun day in the sun

By femmestar |

We have had a delightful time with our OWA season passes. Be sure to wear your swimsuit so you can cool off between rides at the splashpad. Because of the size of the park, it won't take away all your time at the beach. There is something for everyone. The park is clean and the lines are fast. Well worth the stop.

Will be great!

By pammybb55 |

We happened upon OWA on a Chamber of Commerce Sunday! We enjoyed walking around the area and popping into the shops that are open. Will be great once all shops are open and running.

Modern day ghost town?

By Jimbear |

Out shopping on a Thursday early afternoon with my wife, we saw this development had a Sushi restaurant and followed the signs off hwy 59 to explore it. Our conclusion, it is quite a complex but on this day we pretty much had the place to ourselves. The Sushi restaurant required we wear masks. Forget about it. We wandered to the Murder Creek moonshine for a super enjoyable tasting and then Auntie Ann's for some hot pretzel bites. Otherwise it was a bit of a ghost town this weekday afternoon. A lot of well built development somewhat in the middle of nowhere without a lot of drawing power for tourists in the semi off season. Probably would not go back.

Highly recommend for family fun

By nancydeane |

Great family break. Clean park, nice staff, small but just enough to keep all busy having fun. Highly recommended.

Loat of good rides for elementary aged children

By Jackson0085 |

Really good activity for young kids. They'll go til they drop. For Jr high and older kids, the ride selection is a little more limited so it might not keep them entertained as long. Staff is great.

Not a lot of shade, so if going in the summer, take sunscreen and a refillable water bottle. Or maybe leave a cooler in the car with plenty of water, as they'll let you come in and out.

Very nice staff, way too hot, DIZZY!

By MandevilleDad |

This was our first trip to The Park at OWA. They are still very new. Every staff member is exceptionally nice. Our visit was cut short due to rain. We did ride every adult ride but the main roller coaster. Everyone spins. We were all a little woozy after that. The park is very clean, well spaced and as the landscaping matures, lots of trees. Easy to get to and less than 15m to the beach. Would go again in the future, but they will have a tough time competing with the Track and the water park.

OWA Amusment Park, Foley Alabama

By Diana D |

An amazing place to take both young and old kids. There is a section of the park that has awesome rides for your little ones and a side with a thrilling double looped roller coaster and lots more. When ready to relax head to the splash pad or walk around OWAs shops and restaurants that have great food. Staff was friendly and the kids even had some homemade icecream.

Fun!

By K K |

Kids loved this amusement park. The park is set up where u can easily watch then ride. Make sure to ask for a brochure before buying tickets or get online for coupons. We used a $20 coupon on an all day ticket. Or go after 5pm at a discount as well. Park closed at 9p. Good restaurants walking distance too such as wahlburgers and the groovy goat. More restaurants are opening soon.

Exceeded my Expectations

By jmytyleice |

awesome park, good rides, will definitely go back. Rollercoaster definitely exceeded expectations, will definitely go back!

Not quite finished yet, but still nice!

By lenzjb |

We enjoyed walking around the streets, looking in windows, and watching the fountain musical show. Will be even more fun when the spaces are filled with vendors.

Fun and clean

By coastiegirl |

We had a fun few hours at OWA. Every thing was clean and the workers were courteous. My only complaint would be that every ride (other than the large coaster) has a spinning part to it. I can do big and small rides without much difficulty but spinning makes me sick! If they could get a few small and at least one big ride that doesn’t spin that would be great as there is plenty of room for expansion.

Nice clean park!

By Lindsey |

Great area all around! The restaurants are all really good, there is an arcade, and then of course the park. Love coming here with my little girl. The park is always nice and clean and so are the bathrooms. They are adding a splash pad which is SO awesome, think its supposed to be finished by the end of June. I love that they are always adding events for families as well! Can’t wait to see what else the add!

Splash park inside park was a hidden gem.

By AudNel |

5, 7 & 9 enjoyed the rides and the splash park. Cold beer was enjoyed also, bring a can huggie or coozie.

Not yet finished

By Clifford K |

We went two years in a row when we come to the gulf for the month of February. The amusement park looks great for kids but as seniors, we don’t pay to get in that part of the park. You can navigate the rest of the park for free. It’s a great way to get your steps in if you want to be in shape. Beautiful water fountains, bridges to walk over, shops to look into but beware of what the salespeople are trying to get you to buy. We were one of the victims in a big way. I’ll let you figure out which. There’s a lot of food places whether it be lunch, dinner and just a treat. One main one which was on the way but not when we were there is Paula Dean’s Restaurant. We experienced that by Dollywood in TN. The restaurant can be expensive because the food comes family style and we didn’t eat enough for what we paid. It’s typically amusement park expenses. If you don’t mind that, it is quite nice without the huge crowds. That might change when it is finished.

Party is a NO

By Nita B |

I planned birthday party months in advance. The food was not provided as pre-ordered with the birthday package. When, I called to complain. The group offer me the food for 11 people. The party was Saturday and I was offered food on Sunday. I will NEVER plan a birthday party at OWA! The water park itself was a blast . The staff young and unbothered some barely spoke English.

Best time ever!

By turtle mama |

This is the place to take the family . We all had a fantastic time. The rides are great we have a two year old and there were rides for him as well as our 18 year old. Something for everyone. And we didn’t have to worry about the rain the water park is under cover .

FUN FOR ALL

By 1991KEB |

Fun time for everyone from 7 to 70. The staff was very nice. The rides were set for all age groups. The food was reasonable. There were no lines to get on rides so the day was perfect for the whole group.

BRING A HEAVY WALLET!!

By William S |

This was our 2nd trip to OWA. The first time, no water park. Also the first time…much cheaper. 1st time, the little village was full of neat shops and places to eat. On this visit, I’d say 75% of those places were gone. Sad. Thanks Democrats! The result of a Covid-inspired panic to lock everyone away for a year! It is now a ghost town in there. Water park was pretty nice. But SO freaking hot! Literally like a sauna. I saw gigantic A/C pipes up in the ceiling, they couldn’t have possibly been running. In the other hand, they also had a part of the roof open. The prices, as mentioned by many…were astronomical. Family of 4, $315. Lockers: $20. Hot dogs $14! (are we at a NFL game?) Frozen adult drinks: $15. I just got back from Vegas two weeks ago, felt like I was right BACK in Vegas! The property itself was clean and well-maintained. Staff was mostly friendly. On the day we visited, citing some kind of a recent storm in the area that created a “power challenge” they had 6 of 23 rides not operating. That’s roughly 25%. You’d think MAYBE management would think to offer a partial discount, no? Naw! And when we suggested as much, we were given that all-too-familiar response from the worker drone: “I just work here.” Yeah yeah…I get it. In summary, it was a $500 day without $500 worth of memories.

They will come

By Earle W |

This a new concept park and shopping area with restaurants. A lot of the retail space is empty and not finished. It is laid out like a small village up town, downtown etc. There some stores open and some coming soon.It has a amusement park next to it and soon a hotel and casino will be added.

Horriable

By Don B |

Horrible experience . Water park was booked for a corporate event not allowing outsider to enter. Forced to go to Amusment park for 45 minutes on a $260 price tag for 6 rides and $250 per night hotel. Shops won't allow children to enter if alcohol is served . Dont waste your time or money this place was horrible.

Steadily improving!

By calderman_98 |

We returned to OWA during our annual spring break trip and were glad to see that (1) they are adding more rides and (2) they now have a non-rider admission for those of us who just go to take photos of the grandchildren having a good time.

lovely place to walk and shop

Youth choir trip

By Derek B |

The park is very clean and well maintained. Staff are very nice and courteous. I have been to a lot of amusement parks and have never encountered the amount of professionalism and courtesy that we did from the staff here at OWA. They have an amazing setup for eating and great prices on food. I highly recommend this park to everyone. The rides are awesome.

Not impressed

By Kayla |

Majority of rides were either broken or closed. We went for 3 days and the amusement rides that were open literally broke every day. The workers were rude and not helpful.

Very clean, nice place to visit!

By joanie30735 |

After we stayed at "the park" all day riding rides, we ventured to all the shops outside of the park area. There are lots of shops but I can see this is a very new place as a lot of the buildings were still empty. Will be a hopping place once all the shops are in and open! We still enjoyed strolling through the area and checking it all out! Very nice, clean place! There are lots of different restaurants here as well, including snack places and ice cream places. Can't wait to go back and visit once all the empty buildings are occupied.

Nice Park

By David S |

We really enjoyed the park. It had something for everyone to enjoy and have fun. There was no waiting in line to get on a ride. Just walked up to the ride waited less than 5 mins and was riding. The park was also super clean, cleaner that Disney. When to walburger and had one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long while. Would definitely go back because the park is a great place. It was like a sim city park but in real life.

Amazed at the rides

By Vicpatlaubid |

Our first ride was the mouse trap and we were thinking it was good for kids at the age of five or 6. Omg itt was scary to me and to the kids, we definitely were wrong. Had a little excitement. We went on a Sunday thinking it closed at 11 pm., but time was 8. We would have stayed longer but we did have a great time. Definitely rides for older kids.

SUPER FUN. SUPER HOT.

By Teresa H |

We had a great time! Kids ages 5, 6, and 13 had a great time in a park WITH NO LINES. Staff was following every covid 19 safety precaution. Plenty to do. We upgraded to season passes before leaving. Want the last star OWA? Invest in some strategically placed sun shades before building one more ride. The heat is oppressive, and I left feeling ill. The chief complaint I hear amongst my friends, I'm local, is that there is no shade anywhere at OWA. Where we are located it is hot most of the year. It's an investment for the future.

Sporless

Love this place! It’s spotless, employees are incredibly nice and prices are reasonable. We plan to go back as soon as we can.

Great value for a really nice park

By 808HawaiiFamily |

I was shocked at how nice this park is, and how good the employees are. The park is par with Disney for cleanliness and the rides, although not outrageous, are really nice. Perfect spot for our family and a few teenagers. We really enjoyed walking around the grounds and enjoying the day while the kids ran from ride-to-ride. All lines were very reasonable as well. If you are considering going to OWA, you definitely should.

Trattoria has lost our business

By Sandra M |

After Chicago Pizza closed our group from Ft Morgan started looking for our next favorite spot. After a lot of looking we found Trattoria at O W A .As of last night we are looking again.Several of the people in our group use walkers or canes . The closest handicapped parking to the door is 100 steps(about 100 yards) .There is a new two lane road leading to the restaurant that we used to drop off several of our group. When it came time to leave,we discovered that the entrance was blocked by two cars. We assumed these were thoughtless customers. When we got to our cars we called the restaurant to report the blockage. The lady on the phone told us that these were employee cars ,and that drive is for deliveries.I don't know how many deliveries they get after 5 pm, but on a two lane street it seems that there should be room for dropping off handicapped customers and still provide access for deliveries.

A Diamond in the Rough

By cbringdrvr |

We stumbled upon this gem while staying in a nearby RV resort. Although we did not go on the rides we enjoyed watching others and wished we had our teenage grandaughters with us. The park layout is well designed with much room for expansion. The theater at the back os opening mid June and will host "Legends." So sorry we missed that. The water fountains are amazing with a nightly show. At 8 pm there was a cool parade of dancers who made their way to a stage on "MIn Street " and performed. I went into a souvenir shop and found some great deals on swimwear and tshirts. We loved Wahlburgers. The addition of a Paula Deen restaurant should be another great draw. There are many places to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. I hope this place thrives as it appears to have great potential.

Great rides for everyone

By Cody M |

We took the family and spent 3 hours. Ride every ride as many times as we wanted. Rolling thunder is incredible for a small park or any park for that matter. Twister will get the blood going too. Wave rider is great. It was all a lot of fun from for ages 11-44.

No Waiting, Clean, Lots of Bathrooms

By SarahMiller73 |

We bout tickets online using code summer7 and paid only $27.99 each. The park is still very new and pretty much unknown, so there was no waiting to get on rides. My kids are ages 10-22, and there were rides to suit them all. Most of the kiddie rides are large enough for adults to ride with the kids as well. The only ride I don’t recommend is the Rollin’ Thunder. It bangs the left side of your head very hard against a bar and I also got a bad bruise on my right elbow.
The park was very clean and there were restrooms everywhere. There is an air conditioned dining area you can use to cool down, as well as a splash-pad.

Great Day Out!

By REGENTA G |

We live in Northwest Florida, about an hour and a half away from OWA. We decided to take our family for Spring break (the last week of March, 2024). We had tickets for Monday, but it was rainy and 50 degrees, so we decided to postpone our tickets until Thursday. Thursday ended up being a beautiful, sunny day, inside and out but still chilly at 65 degrees. It was the right move to wait because we would not have enjoyed the outside amusement area in the rain or the cold weather. We could have moved the tickets to Friday or Saturday too for an upcharge, which we would have done if it was still rainy and cold.

We arrived at opening time and went straight in. The line was super short, but a little unorganized. A few guests bumped into each other trying to move past. That area could be made more efficient very easily. It took us two minutes to get through the gate. The park was not busy at this time.

All but one of the rides were open and all staffed. The closed one was due to maintenance issues. At 10:15 a.m. there was one that had a wait line and that was only because of it’s proximity to the high traffic walking area. Had we moved past it, we would have been able to get on other rides with no wait, which was what we did after it.

We arrived at the big roller coaster about noon. This one went up and down at a 90-degree angle but it had the longest wait of 15 minutes. Once we were on it, it was quick but a very fun roller coaster. The family loved it!

The rides seemed tiny and kiddish from afar, but it became obvious they were not when you were on them. They were fun and exhilarating. We stepped off many rides saying “Well that was more than I expected!”

I did notice a lot of the rides had height requirements and little ones were getting turned away. This happened inside at the tall water slides too. They had a super cool inside kiddo section that they could use, but being the right height was important here to be able to access everything.

The slides were great, but we noticed there didn’t seem to be enough floats for everyone. You had to hunt them down a little too much. Also, there were 9 slides and all but one was open. The wait times here were really short as well, depending on which slide you chose.

They had an outside large wading pool with waves and a surfing pool. We didn’t go into either because the weather was too cool for our liking. However, it looked very pretty from inside the nice warm enclosed water park section.

The bathrooms were super clean and big, with lots of space. Which gave you the opportunity to stay apart from individuals.

The café was the slowest area we experienced. Unfortunately there was one person taking orders and five people in the back cooking the food. Perhaps they were training new people but we waited the longest trying to grab a bite to eat.

Also, take your flip flops. The ground inside the area can get really hard on your feet, so have those with you.

Overall the family had a wonderful day! It was relaxing and fun to be together. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable family day out!

Okay

By Keshia K |

Expensive but an okay experience. The pricing is a bit extreme for an okay experience! You can buy a drink in the arcade for $5 but you’re not allowed to take it in the park, which is pretty obsurd!

Night out.

By Sherri B |

This place has such potential and I’m sure when more stores and restaurants come in it will be even better. We walked around and looked at the few things that they offered and ate at the Wahlburgers restaurant it was so nice and clean and not crowded at all. Can’t wait to come back when they have more to offer.

What to expect!

By CulinaryKop |

If you have been to a lavish, over the top amusement park with crazy blood pressure raising thrill rides, on a piece of property the size of Rhode Island.....good for you! "The Park" is not one of them so don't expect any of that. This is not themed like Disney or Universal and the rides are not built even in the same stratosphere as far as quality goes. It is however a fun little park with some kinks to work out. The teenagers had fun. The Twister will get you going as far as thrills go. The single coaster is a never again for me. Only because is beat the crap out of me (again, not SIX FLAGS folks and I am getting old). One guy screamed at the top of his lungs when he got off of it yelling, "WOW, WHAT A RUSH!" He was serious. SO hey, a ton of people like it, it is just not for me. For the kindergarten or 1st grader...PERFECT especially if your above 42 inches! The food is pricey duh! Love the rocking chairs scattered throughout. It is perfect that you can get a stamp for re-entry. Take a walk to TownPlace Suites and just imagine when trendy high-end stores will start showing up along with more local boutiques and restaurants. A good vibe being created down there to surely create a traffic nightmare. One final note on "The Park". We had a hiccup while there. Management showed up by the many like Men In Black out of nowhere and took care of the situation. These guys are trying to get it right. Good job guys. Yep there will be lots of kids crying driving down the Express looking out the window at a towering twisty blue coaster, like trigger candy at the register when you are checking out at the grocery store!

moderate value

By R. Hoover |

Moderate value. The layout of the water slides may be cost effective but makes for slow lines. Mechanical breakdown kept wave pool empty for an hour.

OWA in Foley - basically a clean ghost town.

By Shelly B |

The park is very clean and well kept. We arrived at around 10:30am to find very few people. We were able to ride any and every ride without a wait. The ride named Southern Express ran by Peter stood out. Peter was great with everyone who came to enjoy his ride, making everyone laugh. Great job!!! We need more people like him in this world. It is so very hot and unfortunately the park offers very few areas with shade. Even the rides are fully exposed to the elements. After only one hour we retired to Lucy’s restaurant in the downtown area of OWA. We had juicy Lucy hamburgers with sweet potato fries ( rated 7 out of 10), quesadillas ( rated 5 out of 10) and the chicken sandwich (rated 7 out of 10). When we left the park at around 1:00 a few more people trickled in but the entire place was still pretty empty. Maybe the Waterpark will draw in more people once it opens. We plan to visit again in the future to enjoy the finished park with the added indoor/ outdoor Waterpark.

Up and coming attraction

By donna s |

Searching for ice cream we ended up at the OWA mall.

Very interesting concept, nice places to eat. It is still being developed. The amusement park looked interesting.

We found the ice cream shop and when we came back out side the evening entertainment started with a neon dance troup. Fun! The teens compared this area to downtown Disney, without an entrance see to the shopping.

We will visit this area again when we return to this area.

HORRIBLE

By Voyager48665642850 |

Horrendous costumer service. Very untrained staff and team, a Truly WASTE OF MONEY. I WOULD FIRE THEM ALL, TRAIN THEM WELL AND HIRE NEW TEAM

Bummed at OWA

By Adrienne K |

My family have been to Owa every year since it opened. I even gave some feedback on spelling errors around the park the first time we went. We have ALWAYS had great experiences. I have praised Owa to numerous people, both our AL local neighbors and our friends back home who come to Orange Beach/Gulf Shores.
A week and a half ago, we came to the water park while it was raining. I had looked online and they didn’t have an option to purchase water park only tickets. When we got there, the lady at the pay desk said it was $55 per person for the water park only. We stayed for the entire afternoon and had a really nice time!! When my husband asked, I told him about the price and water park….and that they had a bar…YES!!
Fast forward to today. While waiting in line, an employee walked along the line saying that if you have pre-purchased tickets, you can skip ahead to the wrist band line. Someone in our group spoke up and said we are water park only, and she waved us to stay in line. When we got to the ticket booth, we were told it would be $80 per person because we couldn’t purchase a water park only pass. What?! I just paid for a water park only pass the last time. Apparently, that only applies to rainy days when the main park is closed. I asked where the guest services is….no guest services. So, I talked to a manager who was just as irritated as me. I explained why I was confused and suggested there be a section on the website that water park only passes are only sold on rainy days. If I’d have known, I would’ve bought the combo pass online and at least saved some money. She suggested I get back to wait in the ticket line, get a refund and repurchase to get the discount. She missed the point. When my husband suggested we make the best of the day and ride the rides we had paid for, we couldn’t Why? Because we didn’t plan for the amusement park and my girls only had their swimsuits and tshirt coverups. They weren’t allowed on rides because they didn’t have shorts.
I gave Owa 3 stars because of the previous positive visits.

Not worth taking younger crowd to for rides.

By Angelina S |

Having been multiple times this year I’m amazed the amusement park is still open. We have kids ranging from 6-21 that we take and unfortunately for the smaller ones, the kid side rides are rarely available. I believe there are 9 rides on their side but because they are always short staffed, most likely only 3 are available to ride at any given time so the kids end up riding the same rides over and over and never riding others. It’s beyond annoying. It was sweltering hot this week there and they never did open the splash pad that day - that would have been a very welcome activity for the kids. Overall, I truly am amazed that the amusement side hasn’t closed down yet.

Great stay at OWA

By Hmmmmm |

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The resturants are all great food. Hoping more retail shops and resturants open on down town .... more hotels and baseball / softball diamonds and tons of more sports fans will come. The sports complex part of the area is awesome. We would definitely return.

End of summer fun!

By badloki |

My husband and I took our kids to OWA to celebrate the end of summer and to have some fun before school started back up. The park was not crowded which was amazing. We were dreading the obligatory long lines for rides, but thankfully that wasn't the case! There were rides for everyone as well. Our kids are 8 and 16 years old and both had a blast! My 8 year old even braved Rolling Thunder and although he swore to never ride it again, lol, he enjoyed it as his 1st rollercoaster. The park was very clean. The staff was enthusiastic and helpful. It was extremely hot, but there were nice misted shady areas provided. In park food/drink prices were a bit steep (almost $4 for a bottled water), but that's pretty typical for most theme parks. Thankfully there is a McDonald's almost right outside the gate you can go to. You're allowed to leave and come back for that day as long as you get your hand stamped. So leave and grab a bite/drink at McDonald's. Would definitely go again! Great, fun place. We stayed several hours.

Interesting place with shops, amusement park, etc.

By Deb62862 |

We visited downtown Owa during a recent trip to the area. We stopped at Murder Creek Distillery and Groovy Goat, both just for drinks. Its a nice area. We were there midday on a weekday and it was pretty quiet. They have an amusement park as well that operates when the children are out of school

So.Much.Fun.

By Brittany N |

Visited with my spouse, a teen, a preschooler and a baby. All 5 of us had a blast! There’s something for everyone here. Plenty of rides (including lots of options for our 4 year old), an awesome splash pad, lots of shaded areas with seating to escape the heat, exceptionally clean park and restroom facilities, friendly staff, fun atmosphere, affordable concessions, well stocked gift shop and total bonus; a mother’s room for nursing moms and babies!! We’re already planning our second visit. I can’t wait to go again!

A must for a night

By colbys894 |

We stumbled upon OWA one evening. If you wait until after 6pm you can get in for $20. It is well worth the price of admission. We didn't have to wait in line for more than 5 min in any ride and we rode about every ride in the park. There are also several restaurants in the park and there will be a ton more when they get the park done. There are alot of rides for all ages of kids. They also have a splash pad for the hot days. My kids loved it and so did I!!

Theme park was a 3, water park 4.5

By Virginia R |

Theme park was nice, but three of the adult rides were down for maintenance. It was hot, so i advice 5pm till closing when sun starts to set.
Water park was great, kids loved it.
Only thing is they charge the chaperone full price just to walk around with the kids.

Rude employees. Wouldn’t accept our face mask and forced us to leave. We’re concerned about our type of face mask but yet have samples out of lotion everyone was sticking their hands in. Hygiene was clearly not their concern.

By peg m |

It’s a great time. I highly recommend it. If you’re staying at the beach and would like a quick day trip, this is definitely your ticket. Affordable, clean, and entertaining. Locals do not let this gem fizzle.

Fun

By DashaMc |

We took our 15 year old. He enjoyed it. The kiddie rides were fun even for him. Couldn't talk him into the big one but we did most of the others. The arcade outside the park is great too.

Shopping area will improve with more stores

By jessey35 |

We visited downtown OWA with 2 adults, 2 kids. It's a very nicely built, clean outdoor shopping area. We enjoyed walking around but with only a few stores that didn't take very long. The kids did enjoy the candy shop and the adults each enjoyed grabbing a drink to sip on as we walked around. Unless you're planning to eat dinner there, I would not visit just for shopping. At the time we visited in early July, the shops asked that face coverings be worn and offered them complimentary.

Find somewhere else

By Brandyandm |

I'm from Texas so we drove 8 hours to get here and the number one reason is because I found this place on a top 10 inside water park guide. I'm convinced they paid the website because there's no way this should be ranked in the top 10. First, it's GROSSLY overpriced, second, there's not enough things to do inside the water park, third, some of the rides/ attractions were closed. Our children ranging in ages 2-17yo decided to stay in the COLD wave pool outside for $300 bucks.
I loved our beach home and will more than likely return there but this water park is NOT what I expected.

Not much happening

By Paul S |

We drove by thios attraction on a Monday afternoon and found there to be very little happening. There is an amusement park, but it was closed. There was also an area for shops and restaurants, of which we only found one open. Perhaps the weekends would see more action, but I don't think I'll be back.

Best $20 I spent on our vacation for the kids!

By missamiann |

My kids loved Owa and said it was their favorite part of our trip! We went on a Monday night for the $20 promotion (from 6-9pm, ride all the rides you want Monday-Thursday). We found the rides to be very clean, safe, and fun! We didn't hardly have to wait in any lines, the kids could just hop on/off and were so happy. The best part that was the adults had fun riding along, too! There were even a few I was too scared to ride (the big coaster, and the Freedom Flyer). The grandparents enjoyed the swings, Freedom Flyer, and Crazy Mouse. There was fun for everyone, and I would definitely go back! PS> Whalburgers was also great fun with NO WAIT!

Terrible customer service

By Jet35483410168 |

I read another review that the woman at the window was rude and I could not agree more. I made sure to call and make sure they knew this as well. We took our teen son, did not want to participate in the water and was rudely told that we needed to buy a ticket as well. $200 to go to a water park for one child, NO THANK YOU OWA! Shame on you for not offering a non rider option. I'll drive down to the beach ( which we are doing as I type this) and give The Hangout my money and have a great day ... shame on you OWA for the customer service.

Fun for the kids

The park was very clean lots of things for our toddler to do. the staff was very helpful and freindly

Much Better than Expected.

By Cruiser58624620523 |

The OWA in Foley Alabama was a pretty nice experience for my family. The weather wasn't so nice outside 69F and rainy but inside the water park it was nice and warm. The water was nice also at about 83F.
Others have complained about lack of staff, rudeness and dirty conditions. I don't know where they were but it wasn't in Foley. Pools were clean, staff was attentive and very pleasant, and the bathrooms were very clean. Food was good and prices were what you would expect for a tourist attraction. (BTW, to the lady that took my cheese pizza, the peperoni was probably better).
We spent three hours inside and when the weather cleared we went outside and rode some of the rides (little kid rides, my daughter is six). One ride broke down and they had maintenance repair it within a couple of minutes.

Nice park

By Steve L |

Really nice park. Not over priced. Plenty of good food outside of park. Park food not good. Take a break from park and eat some where else.

No communication, waste of money, and time

By Michael G |

There is no communication between employees. No communication from employees to guests. We paid $70 per person, for 4 people. HAD to do the combo and all we wanted was water park. Bought them online and NO where does it say that there MIGHT be a wait due to capacity. So we joined the wait list when we arrived and my family did some rides waiting for the text. Waited over 3 hours and still no text. Come to find out that they opened it up for anyone 2 hours earlier. Suppose to be a text to let everyone know about it but supposedly the system went down. Did any employee or MANAGER for that matter let people know. NOPE. It was a waste of time and money since I don't ride any of the rides and was only there for the water park. The Management in this place is ridiculous and needs to find a different job that they are qualified for. They only care about your money and not about the experience. I WOULD NOT recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Really disappointed

By Trip802817 |

Came to visit with two teenage boys and a 2 year old. Skies were clear when we walked in but a quick rain shower popped up and all rides were
shut down. We decided to go eat until the rain passed. An hour later, skies were clear and the shower had moved out. Rides remained shut down. We had not been able to ride a single ride and the skies were blue and clear. None of the ride operators could tell us when they would open again. It was 90 degrees and not even the splash pad was letting people in. 2 hours had now
passed and I am watching the ticket people continue to sell tickets while everyone stood around trying to figure out why none of the rides were working. Tried to ask for a refund and were told that they only offer it for same day rain check. That wasn’t really an offer at all because from what I could tell, you could come and go from the park as you pleased as long as you had your wrist band…. The entire OWA shopping area felt like a ghost town. It was a really disappointing experience.

Great but still too new to have enough to offer.

By Pam M |

The amenities they have to offer are quite good but they just don't have enough to offer. They need more restaurants and an inexpensive candy shop outside the park.

Fun in the sun (or not) in Alabama!

By Martha Stewart |

We visited the park on 6/2/2023, we were there before it opened and it was not as crowded as expected. The waterpark is beautiful with slides for all activity levels. The amusement park was great as well. No extended wait times for the rides. A decent amount of kid and thrill rides. The food at the waterpark was as expected, a little overpriced but you do get a lot. Drinks at Libations were tasty and the bartender added an extra "splash" of liquor in the drinks. I didn't go but the crew that went to Paula Dean's raved over the tasty dishes and ample amount provided. RENT THE CABANA it's well worth it. Paid $18 for two cones at the Hershey ice cream shoppe. All in all, had a great time. Would definitely visit again.

Not worth the time or money

By Stephen K |

Multiple rides out and the staff was very rude. Took my 1 year old to have a fun weekend and one of the workers made me hold her up to see how tall she was. I honestly thought the girl was joking. Of course she’s not going to ride by herself. The worker looked like she was 11 years old. After taking 15 minutes to let everyone on the ride the girl was very snarky and told us we couldn’t ride because my daughter didn’t “fit”. My wife and I were so astonished we just got up and left. I’m a local who was previously a season ticket holder but not anymore.

Lovely, small theme park with FRIENDLY staff

By Susan C |

OWA is a small amusement park with only 21 rides. The employees with uniformly helpful and friendly. When we asked one employee where the rollercoaster entrance was, he offered to walk us to it. WOW. Small children and people who are more adventurous than me will get their money's worth out of the park. (Many rides for adults spin, FYI.) The kids 5 and younger were having tons of fun in the splash pad area. The adjacent shopping area is still being built and will be really nice once it has more stores. The Alvin's Island store had very reasonable souvenir prices and the Arcade was nice also.

Fabulous, So well done.

By Tootsis3 |

It was actually two grandparents. One adult daughter and 3 college age grandchildren.

Everyone loved everything about everything.
The rides are top of the line, the park is immaculate.
Restaurants and shops are all unique and all food is great.

OWA keeps adding new things, all the time, hotels,
Soon an RV PARK, and it keeps on going!
Great for ages 3-100!

Fun even on a dreary Dec. day.

By WifeBrown |

We went on a quiet dreary day in Dec. and we didn’t have to wait for rides. It was loads of fun for everyone. The restaurant we went to was great too. (Groovy Goat) Great shopping too!

Huge new complex

This place is fairly new and is still in the building stages. It has an amusement park, a downtown area with shops and restaurants, an event center, and a a big sports complex. From what I understand they will be adding much more to this beautiful complex.

Beginning of Spring Break

By rhonda h |

Tropical Falls was very nice and is a beautiful water park/amusement park. Everything was nice. My only issue was that all the rides weren’t open. I understand that we visited at the beginning of the season, but the kids wanted to ride some of the rides that weren’t working or we had to wait until the hour was up so that someone could come start the ride. Which was kind of a bomber. But overall I still rate it well. Good food, clean restrooms and nice water park! The kids rate it a thumbs up.

My granddaughter and I had the most fun! The splash pad and all the rides were awesome! We rode rides all day long and enjoyed the splash pad to cool off. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were safe and enjoyed our visit. Entertainment and the arts and crafts were the best! We had the upmost fun and made lots of memories!

By Nell S |

OWA is very well maintained...
HOWEVER,I do think it is ridiculous that a grandparents / GUARDIANS who plan to walk around with grands has to pay the same amount as those who plan to Go On Rides...I sat 90% of my visit...in an area with a lattice roof, fans and water misters...The black tiny knats were just almost unbearable unless you were near fans and water misters..
My grandchildren..11, 14, and 16 had a great fun experience...We were there after 6pm...AND appreciated the reduced rate..
Earlier, we enjoyed a good meal at WALBERGERS...
After rides, we popped into Hersey's for 2 ice cream and the back to Walbergers for 3 Root beer floats about 9:30pm

We had a fantastic time at OWA. Took all the kids and grandkids and had a BIG family day! Would do it anyday!

Fun for the Family

The family and I truly enjoyed our time here. They had plenty of rides and the food at the Groovy Goat was terrific. My son actually bought the season pass which was totally budget friendly for him to go different times with his friends during the summer.

Great things to come

Great new amusement park, but clearly not even near complete. Large rides are still being built. Does miss some of the usual amenities. The park was nearly empty (Mother’s Day) about an hour after opening. We could literally walk up up any ride- and I mean every one of them- and not wait in line. Almost surreal. We will check back in a few years. Both of us parents said “they must have spent a fortune building this amazing park and nobody is here!”. There is a separate shopping area with fun restaurants- worth a visit and outside park gates so no cost to enter. Plus all parking is free.

Nice little park

By Ruthie63 |

Still growing but it is a nice, fun park. We ate at Wahlburgers and stopped to watch some kids perform in front of the lake. We did not ride any rides that day, but looked like they had a good little selections from what we could tell.

Cute area

By Sarah Beth |

It’s a very cute area, unfortunately there aren’t many shops or restaurants. We wandered around for a bit after eating at Paula Deen’s. It was pretty much deserted. So much potential. There is music and speakers all over the center as well as several fountains. Very pretty area, just empty.

Tons of family fun!!!

By Tarolyn S |

We went on a Monday and it was excellent. The lines were not long so we got to ride as much as we want. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The OWA DOWNTOWN was a blast also. And Wahlburgers has the best pickles on EARTH!

Don’t waste your time or money here.

By Huck |

Please do not waste your time or money here. Very sad. It used to be nice. There are much better places. Try the Wharf in orange beach. Much better.

Fun place

By Philip M |

This place is great, our family loves it. They have great food, rides. and a unbelievable clean atmosphere. Its small right now but they are continuously adding on.

By Carlos C |

Great place! Looks like a first class effort. There was no crowd I guess because of the "sickness." Also the waiting in line for rides has been replaced with waiting for the teens to wipe the seats off. Also all the rides only allow a few riders at a time. Other than that I thought the prices were reasonable and the staff was super friendly. Just amazingly hot. Oppressively hot.

Not worth the price - gross

By Kai K |

They don’t have any regard for the customer - absolute highway robbery. They don’t honor their season pass prices, and won’t help you out when there is confusion or malfunction with the website or cashiers.

Also- leave it up to the discretion of their incapable teenager lifeguards to decide if your child is the required height … wait in line for 45 minutes and then get told your 48” (confirmed) child is a wee bit under 48” so he can’t ride that slide he was so excited for.

Other things- (we paid for $201 for the 4 hours we were there by the way):

-There were bandaids floating in the lazy river
-Multiple Slides were closed
-Lockers were 12-20$ and you get rushed to open them with a huddle of teenagers watching you type in your PIN number
-Rides outside were malfunctioning or inoperable - seemed very old and uninspected
-Creepy men staring at you and your children, eveywhere
- food and drinks were disgustingly expensive
- much more

really not a lot there

The grounds are really nicely kept but Very few stores and fewer restaurants. Not there for the amusement park tho understand that's a big part of it. Had lunch at Groovy Goat. Not Groovy. Overpriced, mediocre food that was barely warm when served. Soup so cold it had to go back. One and done.

1st time visit

By Stephanie R |

We only live about an hour away and decided to check it out on a Tuesday. We got there when it opened. Stayed about 2 hours. It never got busy. Rode almost all the rides and played at the Splah pad. It's good for an afternoon if you live nearby or are already visiting the area, but I definitely wouldn't make this a family vacation destination in itself. I would absolutely go back, but probably in the fall/spring. The day we picked had a Realfeel temp of 104.

Legends

By Aaron S |

Legends in concert was very entertaining. Venue was first rate amd the performers were spot on. A 2 hour show that was inexpensive. All seats in venue had great visibility of stage.

Great side stop for the day

Stopped here for lunch and little bit of shopping.Great place for lunch at the Goat! Nice little area.

Great Amusement Park!

By Tanya H |

We have a six year old and there were plenty of rides she could ride. There was also a giant rollercoaster that is great for adults! The Arcade is great if it rains and so are the shops and Wahlburgers!

Favorite spot for a quick get away

By Roni A |

We went during off season while other kids were still in school. Great experience, no lines and every ride was working with no problem. When we went, the water park had just opened so we got to do both and really loved the experience. Returning again in a few months.

Great little amusement park!

By Jay N |

Visited OWA with 5 adults and 2 kids aged 5 and 3. We had a phenomenal time at OWA. My 3 year old was a little disappointed that he wasn’t able to ride some of the bigger rides but other than that a great time was had by all. The park is small but full of rides for everyone! We were able to buy the Spring Break tickets online for $25 and felt it was a great deal at that price. The park is divided into 3 sections: adult rides, kid rides, and family rides. We were amazed at the cleanliness of the park and the friendliness of all employees! This was a great break from the beach and I would highly recommend to families.

Will Be Nice In The Future

By The Wyen Family |

We checked out OWA Downtown during an overcast day while on vacation. Due to how new the property is, and I am sure due to COVID19, there was not too much going on. There were also a lot of empty storefronts which I am sure will be occupied in the future. Overall, it was a nice place to walk around, but not too exciting.

Not finished

Lots of empty stores and restaurants. Paula Deen's Kitchen was outstanding. Christmas tree still up on February 27th.

Season pass holders

By Robert W |

We like this place because it is not crowded, close to our home, good for young and older grandkids. We were able to do all the rides in 2 hours. The splash pad is a great addition. They are having some problems keeping some rides operable. The staff on the rollin thunder ride is immature and should work filling all cars so there are shorter waits. The value for pass holders is very good, especially with the new monthly coupon deals. Very short waits on very good rides unlike 6 flags, Disney, etc.

Better than expected!

By Tish H |

I was skeptical based on recent reviews but we had a great time! Although, it's wierd for their main attraction, the big roller coaster to not be running but in the end I'm probably glad I didn't had to find all my bravery to ride it! Lol!

Beautiful setting

By Trish B |

Easy to locate. Large Amusement park, restaurants, shops, arcade. Continual construction going on now as other things like an rv park and water park are being built. Only negative is Amusement Park at OWA. They have quite a few rides but rides have weight limits. In order for an overweight person to take a small child he or she must purchase a ticket even though they won’t be able to ride. Tickets are pricey and fees other than taxes are added. Park offers very little shade. Employees were nice and courteous. Children 3 and under get in free.

Terrible Experience with our party of 9

By amullek |

Our family went to OWA this week, and we were shocked by the terrible customer service. Their website was not up to date with a significant change that greatly affected our party of 9. No one there cared, and they have not answered our email or followed up as they said they would. Their attitude was shocking.

It's too bad that they don't care about the customer anymore. Whatever management changes that have happened, have not been good ones. It's sad to see this park get to this point.

My family loved it!

By Shan H |

Can’t wait to go back! Weather was hot but it was nice when the sun went down. No long lines either.

Fun and Romantic Place!

By Sally S |

My husband and I love coming here even just to walk the beautifully landscaped grounds. It's nice to see how much has been done since we visited in the Spring. We arrived on the Saturday night before Halloween and was excited to see alot of fun and scarey things to do for the kiddos (and adults too)! The absolute BEST was the girl walking throughout the park with a scarey, spooky looking mannequin chasing people down the street! The colorful waterfalls are gorgeous. The streets are lit up at night. It's like walking through a quaint village. A very romantic place to be with your date!

The park was amazing! Kept my boys busy the entire time. Rides where excellent as well as the shops inside the park. We will go back!

It's not Disneyland!

By Colette T |

We went on a night that said open until 8,but they changed it to 7 because of a tree lighting ceremony that was sorely disappointing. There's no long lines so that's a plus. Kids like it. I'm not going back anytime soon.

Dinner at wahlburgers

By Shamda W |

Can’t wait for the up coming restaurants to open this is our third time being at owa always a awesome experience

Highly recommend this amusement park for families with young kids!

By Ibids99 |

While visiting the area for spring break we saw the billboards on our way in and decided to make a day of it and are glad we did! It was well-worth the 30 min drive it took us to get there from Perdido Key, FL. We took advantage of a spring break coupon offered on their website (showed the code on our phone at the ticket window) for $5 off up to 4 admissions (plus extra coupons). This is a newly built (opened July 2017 an employee said), smaller-scale amusement park but is absolutely perfect for families with young children (ours were ages 7 and 3). To go on most kiddie rides they need to be at least 36" tall (our 3 yr old could) and there were a couple rides that were 42" (our 7 year old could). Our kids loved ALL of the rides they could go on and wanted to do them over and over. It was nice that the kiddie rides were contained to one side of the park. And it's flat so you're not having to haul all over the place. During spring break in the middle of the week, there was practically no wait! All of the employees we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful with getting the kids buckled into the rides, etc. There were bigger rides that older kids and adults would enjoy but if you have young kids who enjoy Six Flags "kiddie" types of rides this is a FANTASTIC way to spend a day for the money. We were there for 5 hours and my kids still didn't want to leave. You can go in/out of the park for the day with a stamp and there are some restaurant options (Wahlburgers, Groovy Goat, ice cream at Hershey's) just outside the gate but we decided to eat lunch at the park (standard burgers/hot dogs/chicken tenders) and it was good/fine food. Bathrooms are easily accessed and the whole place is super-clean. Highly recommend a visit!

WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. GOT TO SLIDE ONE TIME IN THREE HOURS

By mark m |

We went to the water park. They did not have enough staff. The place was way overcrowded. In the 3 hours we were there. We got to slide 1 time! You had to stand in line to stand in line. They should limit the number of people allowed in the park. You had to stand in line and hope an inner tube becomes available for the lazy river. The electronic lockers stopped working. You could not get your belongings out of them. We had to wait for someone to use a key. NOT OPERATED IN A GOOD MANNER. Will not be back .WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.

Rocked our world

By Gina P |

OWA is a community setting with lodging, a downtown area with food and specialty shops plus the theme park. The park had enough rides to entertain a teenager and 7 year old! They both were able to ride some rides together and then others where more height appropriate. They loved the 3 types of rollercoasters and 3 swing rides. No long lines and the park is very user friendly for all ages. Sitting areas with white rocking chairs and misting areas to help keep the heat away. A small splash area is in the park but no water park.

Tip: if you go after 6 pm the tickets are $20 versus $40.

Legends in Concert

By Beverly W |

The program of Legends in Concert was a wonderful entertaining afternoon.
Elvis, Garth, Brooks, Rod Stewart, Reba McEntire, and one other, along with dancers and back up singers took to the stage and , even though they were impersonators of these great singers, gave an outstanding concert of the singers' popular songs.
I would go back another time as Whitney Houston is to appear with the group later in the season.

Highly recommend that one consider this show when visiting OWA in Foley, Alabama.

Waste of $$ due to over crowding

By P D |

Went on a Saturday… lotta people there & unless you go during slow times you won’t get your moneys worth. We were nearly packed like sardines in there. Over priced if you only want to come swim & that’s it. $2.25 process fee added online just for grins to skim more out your pocket. Unless you go during week mid day u will not get you moneys worth. $63 feels like a rip off after my experience. Wife & I regretted spending 284 for us four when we could had more phone going swimming elsewhere for 40 for our family & had access to actually swim vs wading in the water getting elbowed. Will not return unless it’s weekday in morning. This was my opinion you’re entitled to make your own.

1st visit-amazing

By Cheryl G |

My family had so much fun! Will be back soon! Online tickets are cheaper btw. Wish they had rental scooters though but that's okay.

Fun for kids

By Debbie W |

We took our teen granddaughters and let them explore. It was a HOT day so there were no lines at the amusement park. They had a good time despite the heat.

Rides & Sweet Treats

By David R |

There is something for everyone. You’ve got the rides for children & teens and shops of locals all around. My favorite is where Wahlburgers is located. There is an Arcade there with all kinds of games there. Across from the Arcade is a Hershey’s Cottage that your belly will tell you to go!!!! There’s also Jewelry; Art Galleries & art supplies; Sweets; Clothing; and the list goes on and on. Go to the OWA & unleash your inner child & play with your children. Don’t forget to give Mom your billfold so she can have fun too.

Waterpark Good / Food is BAD

By Heather J |

The indoor waterpark is great and lots of seating outside too around the wave pool. This is a waterpark so if you don't like lots of kids or waiting line for slides probably not the place for you. The amusement park ok, my 11 year old had fun but not a lot of rides and some were closed. My only real big complaint is the food from the waterpark is BAD. Like we spent $70 for 4 meals and none of it was good like school lunch room level if that. So my suggestion swing on by Chick-fil-A or Culver's on way and eat before you go.

Not for Biggins

By Kim C |

To go in this park they should tell you at the gates no more than 250 lbs weight anything bigger than that you will not be able to fit in there rides it’s a complete waste of money I’ll continue to go to Disney World
