This zoo was disappointing. There weren't very many animals and they were spreader out way too far apart. Most of the animals did not look healthy. The reptile site was the best area. It was a nice day in the 50's and there was only one place open to purchase soda and popcorn. That was also disappointing. However, the gift shop was nicely stocked with many items to buy.

All I Can Say The Place Is Great!!!! There Are So Many Things Train Ride Paddleboats Do !!! So Plan A Day Or Two ! You Get To Pets The Animals The Family Will Love It They Give You A Tour Of Oglebay Park The Place Is HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!! & They Have A Walk Around With OSTRICH'S Live They Come Up To You How COOL!!!!!!

A small little zoo with a big emphasis on family fun. The kids loved the education and activity areas. We had a blast on the train as well. We got up close to the Zebras

Our family booked two animal encounters (red panda and sloth) on two separate days and both experiences were phenomenal. The zoo is small, but the pleasant attitudes of the staff and the animal encounters make the trip so worth it. You can tell the keepers really care about the animals and know so much about them they want to share with visitors. We drove about 3.5 hours to get to the zoo and would definitely do it again to experience these animals up close.

This was a great day trip for us, about an hour and half from home, a hidden gem just over the West Virginia border. The Good Zoo has a good number of exhibits, and although the zoo could probably stand some updating, we loved how charming and exclusive it felt. We were the only family looking at a number of exhibits, and we found all of the staff friendly and engaging. It was extremely humid when we visited, so most of the animals were lounging lazily, I imagine that in cooler weather they are more active. We’ll be back, and hopefully to do the animal experience!

Everyone should go see the beautiful Oglebay Festival of Lights. So pretty for the family to enjoy together. Love seeing all the settings and lights.

2015 made for yet another fantastic ZooBrew event. We have attended this event for multiple years and every year it gets better. The beer was of course wonderful, but the food was exceptional this year. It was a real treat this year to be able to watch throughout the evening how beer is made and talk with the brewers. Of course the animals were the highlight of the evening thanks to the Good Zoo and Columbus Zoo!! The band was really great this year as well, only wish they had speakers throughout the event. Hint, hint! :)
Thankfully the weather held out for everyone. Thank you Oglebay and the Good Zoo!!
Can't wait for next year!

This is a small zoo and the main building is worth the price of admission for the red pandas, prairie dogs, lemurs, tarapins, sloth, crazy fast armadillo and the creepy cute naked mole rats. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. It's a pretty place to walk around and see animals. Very well kept. We went back at night and enjoyed the laser light show to music for the holidays.

We took our family to this zoo as a day trip. It is just perfect for children with various animals for viewing and a small petting zoo. We spent time strolling the grounds and finished our day with a train ride through the zoo grounds. Although there was not an abundance of animals visible when we visited, our granddaughter was excited on seeing the different animals that were out and visible.. She really enjoyed the train ride as did the children who were seated in back and in front of us. For our purposes, it was a great getaway that we all enjoyed. This zoo seems to be geared more towards younger and older children, although we(adults) found it to be entertaining and enjoyed the excitement expressed by the children. It is not too large and a few hours is sufficient to cover the grounds and permit the children to take advantage of the playground on the zoo property. Recommended as a day activity for the family.

This is probably the smallest zoo I have been to, in terms of animal displays, but it is very enjoyable. Admission to the zoo is included when staying at Oglebay. The animal displays they do have are spread out in a lovely park-like setting allowing for a leisurely, serene visit. We ran into one of the animal keepers and she was very friendly and informative. I will always stop here when in town.

We were lucky to attend a birthday party held here.. We loved it! Our son loved walking outside & seeing the animals, but also loved seeing them indoors.

Although the zoo is a small facility, the train display, laser show and varied species of animals make this a fun adventure. The walking path is paved and the scenery nice. Friendliness and helpfulness of staff is amazing; very knowledgable and eager to help in any way possible to ensure a great experience!

We came with a group. We watched a great lazer show and then toured the displays. We did not get there in time to tour the zoo as the animals go to sleep at 4 pm. The educational center was nice and the light show on the patio began at 5 pm. Several of us enjoyed shopping in the gift shop. There was a very nice train exhibit in the basement. Would recommend.

The zoo was very clean with pleasant and knowledgeable staff. My mother and I went to do the snow leopard experience and the play with the animals. The snow leopard experience was, by far, one of the most amazing things I have ever experienced in my life! Not only did we get to interact super close up with Harry but we learned a lot about the species from the knowledgeable employee who did the experience with us. The next day we went back for the play with the animals. We got to make enrichment activities for different animals and then go give them to the animals. The lady that was with us made the day for my mom because when she drove us out the lorikeets to give them their enrichment activity she hung around for a few minutes so my mom could see the kangaroos/wallaby's. It would have been to much of a walk for her to do so the girl waited and then drove us back. We did not see a whole lot of the rest of the zoo just because of time issues but what we saw was fantastic! Highly recommend!!

I'm glad to take my "I want to go to Australia" daughter to the Good Zoo to see Kangaroos, Wallabies and meer cats up close. My children also got to feed the birds even though they got bit they didn't mind. One bird just didn't want to leave and the staff had to take him off. The food was good and the staff are lovely. If you don't want to walk they have little trams that will take you from place to place for $1.00 and an elevator to go down to the second floor.

This is the place to go if you love a zoo but hate all the walking. It isn't huge but the animals are unique and easy to see. For an added fee the animal encounters are something you will never forget.

This zoo, because so small, has a great feel. It's very manageable in size. We did get there right after it opened and none of the animals were out. But by noon, we had seen everything. The kids also really liked the indoor area with the model train and reptiles, so don't skip that.
If you get wristbands for the park the train ride is free. My boys really liked that, although my 4 yr old didn't like the animatronic dinos--too scary : ).

Nice little zoo. Some unique critters. Finally found a map but it wasn’t 100% accurate to what was there but it was a nice stop. Nice layout.

We went to the Cincinnati Zoo last year, but we like this zoo way more! This one is great for smaller kids and people who don't like crowds. We were able to get a lot closer and really enjoy the exhibits. We didn't feel like we were fighting for glimpses. I think the habitats and spaces they had for the animals were adequate. The only animals I'm concerned for are the snow leopards and the reindeer. They seemed to be really upset with the hot weather we've been having. Otherwise, all animals seemed happy and well taken care of. I also love that the Zoo is trying to cut down on plastic waste by using paper bags and selling drinks in aluminum cans! I didn't see any recycling bins, so that would be awesome to see next time. We plan to go back next year and hopefully do one of the close encounter activities! Also, my toddler loved the train!

There are both indoor and outdoor exhibits here. Zoo has a nice variety of animals but no elephants or giraffes. The outdoor area exhibits are spaced a distance apart and it is hilly. Can be a challenge for people who have difficulty walking. There is a nice train ride that goes through most of the zoo. Animals appear to be well cared for. Indoors is a nice laser show in the planetarium. If in Oglebay zoo is nice to visit. It is a small zoo.

The Zoo is very hilly. Up and down all throughout. I'm not even sure a motorized scooter could handle the incline of the hills. There is limited shade and it is extremely hot, so much that the animals were not active. Everything is extra including the planetarium which makes it seem as if though it is included in the price of zoo admission. Still a nice feature to have a Zoo at a resort and the kids don't seem to mind the heat. Will return.

This was by far one of the best experiences for my kid/grandkid. It was awesome from the minute we stepped in the door. We walked around outside and visited all the animals, which were actually out the lively. There were a lot to see as well. Lots of different varieties. Then we visited the indoor section with the hands-on activities, the model train room and the laser light show. Absolutely excellent! Would definitely recommend! Very reasonably priced as well.

The zoo itself wasn't very good. Not many animals and it was mostly walking around. My son was interested in the train and play ground. I wouldn't go back.

Not the best time of year to go to a zoo I’m sure, just visited it to kill time. Decently priced. Not very many animals to see for the amount of walking up and down hills you do. A lot of the enclosures are too tall for children In strollers to see the animals. Seen the whole park in approximately 45 minutes.( didn’t do any of the theatre activities)
Wasn’t busy so that was nice.
I feel like some of the enclosures are too small for the animals to be happy.

I have been to many larger zoos and that is my preference but I have to say this zoo was very nice considering it is in a small area. There are many animals to see inside and out. At about the halfway point are the bird and kangaroo areas as well as a small shop where you can "mine for gems". My son loved finding gems and arrowheads in the dirt we bought. The gift shop in the main building had many things to choose from, some things I have never before seen. It was definitely well worth the trip!

There are some cool animals to see, such as a cheetah and a red panda but not as much a zoo as much as a few animals on exhibit. They did a good job with what they have and the landscape is beautiful and clean and the walk through it is serene. The toddlers had fun chasing the chickens, which were super friendly. the goats were also super friendly and the kids liked feeding them. The weirdest thing was throughout our entire walk through the zoo we didn't see any employees, which we found odd but the animals all had calm demeanors and appeared like they were comfortable with people. Including a stop at the playground it took us about 2 hours to walk through the whole thing.

Oglebay Park Good Zoo used to be called Good Children's Zoo when we moved to Wheeling in 1979. That is how I think of the zoo, as more of a Children's zoo, mainly because it is a smaller size zoo, not comparable to San Diego, Pittsburgh, or other large zoos. But, despite its size, the Good Zoo is a lovely place to visit. The animals seem well cared for, and there is a very interesting variety of species. The staff is always friendly and ready to answer any questions. They often have a "specialty" exhibit with visiting animals, such as a pair of adorable white tiger cubs a few years ago. The addition of a lorikeet exhibit is a big plus for the zoo. Visitors can get small cups of sweet nectar and the birds will land on your hands and feed from the cups. They are gorgeous, and its fun to interact with them.
There is an indoor area featuring birds and an area for children to interact with exhibits while learning about the animals. They have an wonderful train exhibit which fills a very large room. It has several trains running on the platforms and above, running around the room. It is very nicely done, with amazing detail on the platform.
Although my husband and I no longer have small children of our own, we've discovered that it is a nice place to go on our own, for a nice walk that includes viewing the animal exhibits. Also, we now can take the grandkids there. They enjoy the animals, and also the nice playground in the middle of the zoo. They also enjoy the train ride through the zoo.

First the house: The outside with the fountain and flowers is pretty and may I note that the china they had was spectacular. The rooms were better than any home I've been in fully furnished. My favorite was the dinning room. The woman in charge was friendly and helpful. A bit dusty...... Zoo: we had 30mins but made the best of it because it's small. The Dino's during e train ride were fun and the ride was worth your money since it was 25mins. I liked the petting place where we saw goats. Both places were so fun. Great place to stop for a bit during a road trip.

We have been to many Zoos and this little hidden Zoo was by far the best one we have ever visited. My kids loved every minute of it. There wasn't a lot of large animals is was more practical. My kids are small (3 & 5) so the fact that this was a smaller Zoo was perfect they walked the whole thing, they weren't over tired when we were done. There were several exhibits where we actually got to pet some animals. The Kangeroo exhibit was by far the best part of the Zoo. They let you inside the fenced in area with the Kangeroos! Highly recommend this Zoo for people with small kids :)

This is a nice small zoo and always good for a walk around. Do check the weather before you go. If it is icy or too cold they close the outside exhibits but do not give any discount. Especially good for families with young children.

do not waste your time visting this "zoo". Several enclosures were empty. Very few animals, what areas actually had an animal, note I did not say animals, were very wooded, difficult to see. We were on the path for 1 hour, never did see the train. It was expensive. It is probably only still open due to being part of the Oglebay Resort. Definately a thumbs down on the zoo.

The train ride was not very good however we did get to see a Zebra up close. The barnyard animals was a disappointment. We expected to see barnyard animal instead we saw a donkey and pony and an armadillo The people that worked at the park were not friendly at all. Do not recommend this place at all.

I always like to check out zoos in areas that I visit - no matter how small. We were staying in Wheeling a few days and went to this zoo. It is very nice. It's small, but very clean and has a nice variety of animals. I was impressed with some of the animals they have - especially the red panda and the cheetah. All animals were easy to see and well taken care of.

The walking path on here is good enough that you will have an appetite when you’re done, but won’t feel exhausted. They have indoor and outdoor animals; the armadillo looks like a wind up toy that won’t quit 😂.

My 19 year old daughter and I visited the Good Zoo outdoor exhibits after many years of coming to Oglebay for the Festival of Lights, but arriving too late. The outdoor exhibits close at 4:00 p.m. and the indoor ones are open until late in the evening. We arrived at 2:00 p.m. and had a good walk around outdoors by about 3:00 p.m. The zoo is so named because it was the wish of a small boy whose last name was Good, who died many years ago. It was a brisk day in the mid 40s and quite pleasant with proper coats and gloves and hat. This is not like a big city zoo and they definitely will not have all the animals on your bucket list, but it is a really nice auxiliary activity to do in the afternoon before having dinner and going on a drive to see the lights. It is kid-friendly and indeed one of our most fun parts was in petting the farm animals, like the burros, the llama, the chickens, and the goats. You can go right into the pen with the goats. I have many pictures, a few of which I share as part of this review. For the first time ever I saw a Goral, which we were calling the "Dog-Wolf-Goat" because it didn't look like any of those individual animals. Neat! There were ring-tailed lemurs, who are beautiful and entertaining with all their activity, we got quite close to a black swan on the pond and saw a bald eagle. They even had a cheetah and two zebras. There is a spectacled bear, river otters, and a baby serval, which is a type of wild cat. There were lorikeets, but they were not on view that day. They were kangaroos, but it looked like you might have to take the little zoo train to get to their area and it was not running, probably due to the time of year.
The indoors of the Good Zoo has some more animals, such as snakes, different monkeys, fish, colorful finches, a mackaw parrot, meerkats, naked mole rats (much cuter than they sound), some colorful beetles, and lots of toy centers for kids so the adults can look around. There is a sort of pretend hospital where kids can learn about how to doctor the animals when they need it. I saw many stuffed animals in bandages!
The Good Zoo also has an indoor model train railroad that is worth going in to see. They have a laser light show on a big screen that you can see for $2 each on the hour in the afternoon and evening; that is fun for kids and probably less so for adults, but try it once! There is also, of course, a gift shop on the way out with many of the expected items for sale.
I've gone to the resort for a number of years and have always found the staff to be nearby and helpful to visitors. And, after dark in the courtyard out back, every 20 minutes, they do a show of about 3 holiday songs and they synchronize the light displays out there to the music. it is enchanting, every time.
The cost to get in is a bit high, I believe it was $10.50 each for my daughter and I, who are both considered adults. For that reason, I'd recommend that you try to come a little earlier to Oglebay so that you can really take advantage of the outdoor zoo before it gets dark.

Family friendly ~ petting zoo ~ very quaint ~ beautiful setting ~ Boo at the Zoo is fun for the kiddos ~ Be prepared for some walking ~ Park surrounding the zoo offers Golf, Spa, Glass Blowing, Museum, Greenhouse, walking trails, hiking trails, cabins, hotels, swimming pool, paddle boats, mini golf and more

nice for entire family to visit with variety of animals Also has several special events such as BOO AT THE ZOO. BREWS AT THE ZOO

Very nice experience… staff were helpful and very knowledgeable… surprising amount of unique animals for a smaller zoo. Well worth a stop!

we like to walk around the lakes. some times there are a lot of deer and geese around. this time of the year they have a Christmas light show sometimes there are long lines ( drive thru )

Great for little ones - lots of animals, train ride, etc. If you are in the Wheeling area, you must go to The Good Zoo, especially around Halloween. The kids dress up in costumes and ride the Train.

We found the size of the zoo to be perfect for younger children. Enough to spend a couple hours. The animals seemed to be very active. It's worth a visit with a family.

The zoo itself can be walked in about 20 minutes, so it is very, very small. You can see all the animals easily, though, so that's nice. Plus, they have lots of play areas to occupy the little kids. The otter encounter is very educational and the otters are just amazing - playful and funny and cute. You don't get to touch them and they don't come any closer than about a foot, but you can throw food to them and watch them retrieve it from the water and hide it or share it or scarf it down. The keeper gives you loads of information about them and obviously these animals are cared for very well. It was very interesting, informative and fun for us to get up close and personal with the adorable otters. Make sure you book your encounter on line well in advance, as they are limited.

This is a very small zoo with not many animals. However, the ones they did have on display were well housed. The meerkats made it worth the trip. However, if this had not been included in our package we probably would not have visited.

This is not a zoo with a large amount of animals to see, but it is a very nice place to take smaller children. My wife and I were there with a group of nine people--our two daughters and son-in-laws, and their three children (our grandchildren)--ages 3 to 18 months! We were there on a Sunday, and there were not a great number of staff people available to help children have animal encounters, but the train ride was fun for us all, and activities were set up for the smaller kids which they really loved. It's also a beautiful setting for a zoo.

This zoo has indoor and outdoor exhibits. There is also a model train display. There are several hills, so be prepared. Not crowded. Loved feeding the birds with cups of nectar and panning for gemstones! There are animated dinosaurs that roar, which seems a bit strange at a zoo, but I'm sure the young children would love them. You can actually walk into the enclosure for kangaroos and wallabies. Wish there were more animals though. Nice gift shop.

The kids like it, But it's just big enough to make them complain about the walking. As far as zoos go it's just okay. But for the area it's in its pretty nice. If you are looking for something to do or can't travel to a bigger zoo it's worth the trip. It's pretty cheap anyway.

This is a small zoo off the beaten track. We went because they have the only red panda encouter in North America. The staff was great and our quide for our encounter was outstanding. Some folks might think the encounters are expensive, however there are very opportunities to interact with animals in the US. So if this is what you are looking for I highly recommend the Good Zoo.

Our adult children came to visit us over the Thanksgiving holiday. We were looking for things to do that were inside and this fit the bill. Luckily for us, the weather was beautiful so we were able to go outside and see the sights as well!
This zoo is geared more for younger children, but we still enjoyed our visit and will go back :)

First visit since 1995 I was a regular visit with my younger brothers in the 1980's with season passes. I arrived on 3/4 about 90 minutes to close. I was passing through the area and decided to spend some time.
I was greeted by the retail supervisor and was on my way. I was able to make the loop in about an hour in brisk but sunny weather. Its a really easy walk. Pretty much all the outdoor buildings are closed except the barn, which was the busiest. The train was also closed the season.
Animals are well kept, and exhibits are clean and up to date. I came back to the main building and there were also some inside exhibits. They used to have road runners in the day, a highlight if the visit and they look the cartoon, minus the tongue. The model train display was open, and is themed to West Virgina lifestyles and countrysides with river boats, blast furnaces, coal mines, county fairs, and a bustling main street. Little bit tired and in need of upgrades, but neverless its as I remembered. They should re-do the exhibit and make it a center islnd and guests can walk a circle to keep lines going. (none today, I was the only visitor)
They have an excellent retail shop. I ended up spending about $125 buying African-made animals, postcards, etc. Very good zoo shop for a zoo of any size. I also saw the closed IMAX theatre. This used to be used for movies and Christmas cartoons in the 80's.
I do consulting and sell rides for small parks and attractions, and the Good Zoo needs just a few improvements to make it a regional draw and grow. The place (I know it was March and just after a freeze) needs a repaving and some more landscaping with benches. The train needs some TLC and can tell a story on its journey with a second stop added. The main building needs a large f/b operation with indoor and outdoor seating, with lots of cover so guests stay during the rain. I have Cinamax films for sale, and the theatre can again be a great air conditioned place for families.
The exhibits are pretty good and in a natural setting. The zoo needs some more parking for increased attendace but adding a carousel, a hadful of kiddie/family rides will increase the length of stay and the zoo will be self supporting. But as it is now, its an overlooked place for families and a great bargain.

Wonderful place for young children, several hands on exhibits thayt they can interact with the animals.

The lights were nice, it was nice going early in the season, hardly any cars, which was very nice, no lines. Most of the displays were very nice, using energy saving lights you can tell they were not as bright, but in all it was a nice trip, would we go again to see it, do not think so, it will be a one time thing.

A small fairly diverse experience easily walked in a couple of hours. Also short tour by miniature train is available. Zoo keepers are available and ready to answer questions. Small farm exhibit with chickens, goats (ready to relieve visitors of snacks from dispensers next to the fenced-in area.

Medium sized zoo with a variety of animals to see. our 9 year old granddaughter enjoyed her clise up encounters with the animals.

Small place, don't bother with the train ride, some animals to view but not worth the money, eat before you go!

Neither we nor any of our guests have had any prior experience with an actual Birthday Party at the zoo, even though many of us have visited the zoo on countless occasions. (We love Boo at the Zoo!) Our party hostess today was named Morgan. I can not stress enough how absolutely wonderful this young lady was with us and our children. She had an obvious passion for the animals she was teaching the children about, she was informative, pleasant, helpful, and professional. The party room was well prepared upon our arrival. Morgan reviewed the party schedule with my 7 year old daughter and myself, allowing for my daughters input. It was SO special to my daughter and really made her feel important on her big day. When we visited the barn and goats Morgan interacted with all of the children personally. She made everything fun and enjoyable for all of us. By the end of the party our guests were asking her how they could book their own parties.
I would like to thank Oglebay Good Zoo for providing us with a memorable experience. I would especially like to thank Miss Morgan for being absolutely perfect in every way.

We went there with family on a nice Saturday morning. It is an amazing small zoo to cover for 4 to 5 hours. There is a train ride that takes us around the zoo, there are a lot of animals - a few to mention would be parrot feeding, kangaroos, ostrich, rare and endangered zebra, African wild cat that looks like leopard, lots and lots of rodent varieties, reptiles, turtles, tortoises etc. We were amazed with the railway system miniature exhibit. Its really huge and majestic to see.
Only issue is the food. There is only popcorn, soda. They call something a Donatos pizza which I am sure its NOT. The taste of the pizza is bad. So, I would suggest anyone to take lunch from outside before entering the zoo.
If you take the senior citizens, kids, disabled people etc. there are golf carts available on first cum first served basis. Driver will come with us, wait at each exhibit and leave us back at the exit. It is just a dollar per person plus any tips for the driver. Actually the cart is open to all, one family at a time.

Very nice zoo. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Easy to walk around. Exhibits well displayed. Clean

For the unusually high pricing, there wasn't much to do or enjoy. We paid close to $50 (2 adults, 1 child) for the zoo, laser show, and train ride. The laser show was worth the $2/person ticket price, although it was, for lack of better terms, lame. The train ride was worthless. The only thing we saw on the train that wasn't among the walking parts of the zoo were the emus.
The exhibits looked maintained. We enjoyed looking at the animals. However, the cheetah looked quite bored with it's surroundings, and constantly paced back and forth. The lorikeet exhibit was the most enjoyable part of the zoo. We enjoyed interacting with the birds as they landed on us.
The train display was awesome. The staff seemed friendly enough, but nonexistent at times. It wasn't crowded, so we could see the animals up close. There was a nice interactive play area for kids to explore and play.
We did not stay to see the holiday lights on the patio.
Overall, it wasn't a bad little park, however I wouldn't make a special trip to see it.

This is not a bad zoo but it is lacking in some respects. First, it is not very big and does not have many animals. Second, there is not a tone to do here. But if you play your cards right this is not a bad zoo to visit if you are staying at Oglebay. Personally, I would go at least once to say you have been there and plus it is not very expensive to visit and the kids did have fun.

It was a chilly day but we loved walking the outside and inside sights. They take very good care of their animals.

The laser show and lights with music was beautiful. The model train room would be ideal for kids into model trains and the animals on display inside were easy to see. The lights with music outside have been added to over the years. All in all a most enjoyable experience.

Our family had a great day at this zoo. We had booked a Lemur animal encounter and read online that the zoo was pretty small, so we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived a few hours before the encounter and had plenty other animals to see. They have a very nice red panda exhibit, a big room inside for the kids to play/do puzzles, and a train ride. The zoo is laid out nicely in a loop. My kids really enjoyed their animal encounter. They were able to feed the lemurs and learn a lot of interesting facts about them. If we lived local, we would probably visit here a couple times a year.

It was ok for pre schoolers. It was too dark to really see any animals. They only give candy bags to kids 3 and above but charge everyone to get in. They do not give bags to teenagers as “they are adults” I had to pay $5 extra to get a candy bag for my 2 year old. 100% not worth it for the experience.

Love this little zoo. I have been there a few times. My daughter is going to school at West Liberty University. They have a new ZooSci program there that is affiliated with the zoo. The animals are well taken care and they are always improving their habitats.

visited with my husband, mother, and 12 year old daughter on October 14th.the zoo was decorated for Halloween, which was cute.small but with clean, appropriate habitats for the animals.I especially liked the naked mole rat viewing tunnels.
The highlight was the sloth encounter. The keeper,Susan, was very friendly and knowledgeable and taught us a lot.Sweet Pea was just as cute as expected.Similar programs elsewhere are so much more expensive and not nearly as fun,it was definitely worth the money for a family of animal fans!We were all delighted and will hopefully return to see more of the zoo and maybe do a different animal encounter.

The Good Zoo is just that. Good fun, good attractions, good staff and a good time. We enjoy seeing how much fun the children have looking at all of the different animals. Great bang for your buck, and reasonably located.

For a small zoo, this is extremely well done and the animals supremely well cared for. The exhibits are very accessible, many with glass panels allowing for close-up views of the animals. If you are in this part of the world, don't miss this zoo!

The Zoo is not as big as The Bronx Zoo or Columbus Zoo but has a good variety of animals and great activities for everyone. They are friendly and the place is very clean.

This was a great small zoo. The train was out of commission when we visited which made for a long walk but it was a very nice little place to visit.

Perfect size for the day with my little one; she had just enough steam to make it through the exhibits and the staff was friendly and answered all of her questions. This is a great day outing for families.

I was actually surprised that this was set up like a regular zoo and not like an animal park. My visit occurred in mid November and I was slightly put off by what I was charged to go through this facility when most of the animals were not on display but considering the admission price also covered the laser shows and environmental building, I didn't feel cheated.

Came to see the laser light show, which was awesome and the Christmas lights. Walked around the zoo, very nice zoo. Smaller then most zoos, but still very nice.

We visited the good zoo today it was very disappointing,we paid for the train ride and we saw all of 3 animals smh really ???people we can do better than that!! all the exhibits were dirty and sad looking we won't be going back

Played golf at Oglebay. Palmer course is great, well manicured. Jones course was suffering from a very hot and dry summer. Staff is friendly and helpful. Palmer course is fun for all. Jones course is very difficult and even unfair at times.

We were staying at the Oglebay Resort and decided to visit the zoo before leaving. It's not a huge zoo, but they do have some interesting animals, and they seem to be well kept and are comfortable. There was a school group of children who were enjoying the experience. Be prepared for lots of walking, as the areas where the animals are kept are large (great!), which means more walking for humans. This is a good place to visit if you have children with you.

The larger animals need a bigger space to roam. Animal handlers were friendly though and answered questions.

Enjoyed going to the zoo with my kids. The staff was friendly. It's not a big zoo but perfect for families with little kids.

Outside wasn't open, but saw animals for the first time including an armadillo!!!!! Laser show was well done....18 mins long with Christmas music. Zoo also had a very nice train display - simple, but cute with lots to look at.....

We stop here when we go to the festival of lights. It's a quaint interesting and fun little zoo. Definitely worth making it part of your trip to Oglebay.

I took my 3, 5 & 7 year old grandchildren here for the afternoon. They had a great time. There is not that many animals but the petting zoo and train ride made up for it. They especially loved the "animal hospital" where they could be pretend veterinarians and bandage up the stuffed animals and make them feel better. Its a very nice, relaxing place to walk around. No crowds of people like bigger zoos because of the layout of the park. The food was expensive and not so great but when you have forgotten to feed the kids, that wasn't an issue.

Conditions inside several enclosures for these animals caused me to feel sorry for the them. The cheetahs have no room to run, the African pigs didn’t have mud or water, the snow leopard was motionless since it was so hot outside. Not much thought was put into the animal enclosures to make then comfortable, other than the barn yard animals. By the time we got through this place I was upset and hated that these animals were there. This is not a zoo. These animals should be sent to a professional zoo that can accommodate what these animals need. Oglebay has is a large property which is mostly a golf course. Not much was given to these animals.

We decided to stop and visit in our way through the area and enjoyed our short stay! Some of the things we particularly liked about this zoo were 1) the train ride (someone said it’s not there anymore but it is as of yesterday) which went through the zebra exhibit and around the park 2) you could go into the kangaroo/wallaby enclosure and get very close to them. I had not experienced those things at any other zoo. Loved the red panda and the other indoor exhibits in the main building. Staff was also very friendly. Heard several people mention this zoo is not what it used to be and that may be true, but it’s still pretty cool! We would visit again!

This is a small zoo that took two adults about 90 minutes to get through, though we skipped the farm animal exhibit and didn't ride the train due to being crunched for time that day. Inside at the armadillo exhibit the staff was more than friendly and willing to answer our questions. The lorikeet feeding was the highlight of our visit and the intern working when we there was helpful and provided us with lots of information on the birds and their different habits/personalities. Outside of the lorikeet area is a "mining" area where you can buy bags of sand to sift. I'm a big kid so I decided we should try it. I paid $10 for a bag of sand and my friend and I split it. We both ended up with 2 large "artifacts" and a large handful of colorful smaller rocks, so not bad as far as we were concerned. And it was kind of exciting, since our parents would have never let us do that when we were kids!
It was cool to be so close to some of the animals without large fences and sure there are not a lot of animals, but we really enjoyed it nonetheless. The train exhibit was interesting due to all the detail and different shops set up. The gift shop has disposable cameras for purchase and some fun unique gifts I had a hard time passing up for the kids in my life. My nephew is getting a stuffed dino for his 1st birthday from there though. I can't wait to go back during the light festival.

What a great zoo! Exhibits are spread out and the animals have a nice amount of space inside the enclosures. The goats in the petting zoo were wonderful but the coolest thing was to be in the exhibit WITH the kangaroos! Knowledgeable staff and interns. A great time had by all.

Our grandchildren were delighted with the Good Zoo. There are animals inside and out. The meerkats were a fun exhibit. The monkeys are always a top attraction. Our grandchildren enjoyed the petting zoo and the model train exhibit. This trip we didn't see the laser light show in the theater but we have before and it is very cool. We stayed at a Wilson Lodge and the Good Zoo is an extra charge.

We traveled 5 hours for an encounter with Red pandas, otters and Sweetpea, the sloth. The experience was amazing! All of the encounters lasted for longer than I anticipated, the animals were beautiful and obviously very well cared for and cared about by the staff (who were also wonderful!). It was unbelievable to be up close. From the moment we walked out the zoo after the encounter, we were planning a return trip!

Zoorefic great place to take a trip with friends or family. Enjoyed all the different types of things to do.Therewere many exhibits that the kids as well as the adults enjoyed. A very clean well attended atmosphere.I would go back any day and would endorse it to any one.

i have been here several times . on halloween you can go on the train ride . several animals to see and places to eat at the zoo. the fish are amazing to see.

Zoo is small. Workers are nice. Animals were visible in most exhibits. A bit hilly. Chickens run free.

Small zoo and the entrance fee is reasonable. There are a few indoor exhibits and a lazer light show that I recommend (as long as you don't have a medical condition that would cause an issue watching it).
We went on a rainy day so not a lot of other people. We saw only a few animals. Almost every enclosure was empty. Clearly the animals were smarter than us and stayed out of the rain. It is also very hilly so the walk (although less than a mile) is quite the breather!
I felt like the trip was pointless since there weren't really any animals to see. Maybe they should not open on these raining days (or charge a lesser rate)?

Took my Great grandsons to park. Zoo was better. Food excellent!! Admission to park but it does not include price to the Good Zoo.$$$

I liked the fact, for a small zoo, there was a good variety of animals to see and the surroundings were beautiful.

Very nice zoo.. not many animals but this is a nice family place to go especially with smaller kids. Will deffinatly be going back in the spring!

Amazing zoo for children of all ages. Activities are age appropriate, diverse areas stimulate learners at all levels. There is much to be learned and reinforced here. This is the type of learning center that begs many re-visits, as there is always something new to be learned. Great job setting this up!

Actually went into the animal habitats and hand fed and interacted with them. Such fun!!! Our guide was knowledgeable and didn't rush us through. Had plenty of time with the lemurs and kangaroos/wallabies.

Buy nectar at the shop and feed the Lorikeets. It's awesome. Train was broken while we were there but looked cool. They also had a model train room that rocked. Nice place to spend an 60-90 minutes. African dogs were different too.

Have gone to see the train display every year for many many years. Just visited the zoo only to find out it was tore down to creat a red panda room. This display was the largest train display in West Virginia and was behind the scenes taken away. Such an awsome learning experience for children gone almost over night! Its a great disservice to West Virgina to not even have a backup to place it elsewhere!

Get the wristband for 18.95 for a full day of activities including getting on this zoo and the train is included. Snack bars inside and outside. Walk through kangaroo area. Area with birds and for $1 u can feed them. Two hours is plenty here.

The Zoo staff are friendly, very knowable and great with the kids.
I spent 5 days with my granddaughter and we learned so much and really enjoyed the well kept zoo.

If you're looking for a weekend away with the kids, this is a great place to go! Closer to Christmas would be the most ideal!

My wife and I had our grandkids with us for the weekend and were looking for something local to do. We remember going to Olgabay when we were Young to swim do we thought we could take them there for the afternoon. When we were closer to the park we saw the signs for the Good Zoo and decided that would be something special for the grandkids. It was a nice surprise to visit the Zoo. It is a smaller place but was great for the kids since there was a lot to see but not to much. They especially liked the interaction with the animals and the zoo keepers. It turned out to be a great time for them.

We did the Lemur and the Serval encounter and they were awesome. I got to feed the Lemurs as they sat on my shoulder. Affordable and worth the experience. We didn't realize it was a Not For Profit zoo - so that made it even better. It was the middle of the week so there were not many people. Lots of walking and hills. Great place to get away.

This was a present and let me say it was the best present EVER! Our Zookeeper was Sharon and she was so knowledgeable and nice. I would highly recommend asking for her because she was so awesome! This encounter had not one but two red pandas!!!! The first was Amber. She was so gentle and sweet. She immediately knew she was going to get some fruit. We wore gloves which is absolutely fine! The second red panda was Junjie and he was bit nervous at first. Sharon was great and gave him time to decide if he wanted to come to us. He did and man was it the best! You can give the command “stand, no claws” and he will stand and gently take fruit from your hand. This was better than I ever could have imagined! If you want to meet a red panda got to ogle bay good zoo!

We recently went to the Good Zoo and experienced the following animal encounters: the sloth, the lemurs, and the meerkats. The encounters were extremely educational and once in a lifetime experiences. The sloth experience was really cool as we got to feed, pet, and interact with the sloth. Our favorite was the lemurs as they were extremely active. You also get the bonus of feeding a tortoise during that encounter. We were also pleasantly surprised to learn that we were able to get in the meerkat enclosure to feed and interact with them. Our guides, Susan and Sharon, were extremely knowledgeable, funny, and made our experiences absolutely awesome.
The zoo itself is a gem in West Virginia. The animals were some of the most interactive I have seen at any zoo. There is a lot for kids to do at the zoo. The train ride was one of our least favorite things, but everything else was absolutely amazing!

This is what one might expect I suppose for a small town zoo. I was there last Monday to see the lights and couldn't even finish going through once I saw the exhibit with the naked molerats. First I noticed they were confused and having trouble climbing through the holes. Then I noticed, once my partner said he thought they were sick, the emaciated dead one with the moldy food seriously!?! I know it takes money to feed and care for the animals I am not anti zoo... but come on! This is why people protest zoos. Seems short staffed for winter time waited 20min past time for laser show to start... please hire someone to at least care for the animals! I know its winter time... that means lots of tourists for the lights! I didn't ask for a refund or complain. Just giving fair warning to anyone else interested in going keep an eye out for dead neglected small critters.

My sister and family had visited the zoo a few years back and said it was decent, but small. My family and I decided to go and were pleasantly surprised by what it had to offer. It must have expanded since my sister was there as we spent an hour or so walking around the exhibits. We're from the Cleveland Ohio area, so it's not nearly as big as our zoo, but it was interactive and had some unique/funny animals. We would go again if back that way.

We enjoyed our visit to the Good Zoo. We booked one of the available animal encounters and spent almost an hour and a half taking turns holding a two-toed sloth while the zoo keeper gave us lots of information about it. It was great!

We were delighted that Oglebay Park Good Zoo has re-opened. Although the Zoo is relatively small, it holds AZA accreditation and animals were relaxed and in modern enclosures. The Zoo was notable for displaying species not held by larger facilities, including a snow leopard, serval, bobcat, cheetah, and even mongoose lemurs.

I have been to a lot of zoos in many major cities, so I wasn't expecting much from this zoo. But I really was impressed by the size and selection of animals here. My favorite is the serval. I could have spent all day just seeing her.

We visited the zoo as we were driving through the park for the festival of lights. The zoo had their own activities to go along with the park's lights. They had a light display set to Christmas music that was awesome. The display had several shows throughout the evening. Another Christmas display was the laser light show. All I can say is "wow." The ending was unexpected but beautiful. Then there was the train display. That was incredible with all the different trains running on all the tracks. There were so many pieces that was part of the dispkay. A gentleman answered everyone's questions regarding the display and trains. Even though it was evening, there were a few animals to view. The displays not only excited the kids but also the adults.

Recently visited the zoo. Some of the animals were inside due to high winds in the area which was understandable. They let us know up front.
We really enjoyed the visit to the zoo. I would definitely go again if staying at the resort. They are adding a lion exhibit.

Most of the animals were not on display, however it is December. The holiday laser show is only 18 minutes and very entertaining.

Fantastic laser light show. Entertaining Christmas light show outside. Unfortunately, seeing these two things at night does not allow you to actually visit the zoo. But it was a fun evening.

Wow! I was really disappointed after reading reviews. I was expecting more. The animals were not in the best of shape. There was not many animals for the walking you had to do. Animals that where in water, the water was dirty. The zoo itself needs to be maintained better. Very disappointing trip.

Nice zoo to blow off a couple hours. Lots of really neat animals such as the red pandas, cheetahs, snow leopard and the zebra. But what really bothered me were the reindeers in their tiny pen running in circles from going stir crazy. You need to either make a bigger area for them to roam or you need to move them to a different zoo. It’s not fair they have to live like that

worth ever penny to see and hand feed the animals up close and personal. My 13 year old son loved our visit.

We love this zoo! It’s smaller than our local Pittsburgh zoo but so much cleaner, less crowded, more scenic and cheaper. It’s within Oglebay Park and offers food at a concession stand at the beginning.

Being zoo aficionados, we tour a lot of zoos. Oglebay Park's Good Zoo is a great little zoo. The habitats for the Wolves and Red Pandas offer great viewing. Also, there is a great train display. Well worth the trip

It is a nice little place to go when you visit the Festive Lights. There is some walking to do but its worth it. Especially after sitting in the car for about a few hours.

Festival of lights was so cool. It was all in LED lights and it was really bright. It was really cool because there were so many things made of lights. There was a 12 days of Christmas display and a lot of other cool things. There were at least 2 light arches and those were fun to go through.

It’s a small but non crowded and reasonably priced zoo with fantastic friendly staff. We visit her yearly and it’s worth it every time the kids love the train display as much as the adults! This year’s theme was dinosaurs and they are definitely life like! Worth the trip if you are stopping through.

This zoo is quite small but a diversity of animals for the size. As usual, one wonders about an animal's life living in a zoo but the educational component was excellent. A great gift store, too.

Just good business practice to have staff park further away from door than paying guests!! We arrived 1/2hr early and were surprised all spots closet to entrance where taken. Then watched many staff in zoo shirts fill up many more prime spots

We had a great time at The Good Zoo. Having 2 very young children, it is the perfect size! We took the train ride which was not only fun in itself but also a good way to see the animals, especially the wondering deer that aren't even apart of the zoo! The huge train layout (located inside) is really a sight to see! Don't miss the totally adorable Cotton-Top Tamarins before hitting the gift shop which is pretty big and has a lot of neat things to purchase. For an additional cost, we really enjoyed the laser light show in the planetarium, featuring music by The Beatles!!! We look forward to visiting this zoo again! :)

My daughter has loved red pandas from a young age. When browsing online I discovered the zoo had a red panda experience. It was absolutely amazing! This new staff was very helpful and informative. They explain the diet of the red panda, where they lived and answered all of my daughters question. She was able to go into the exhibit and feed the animals. They even crawled on her lap. She also decorated the exhibit with bamboo for the pandas to eat later that day.

Everyone was very friendly and the animals seemed healthy and happy. It was great to see the red panda. Got some live video - they are adorable.

I love this place. Great for kids, you can walk around and pet some of the animals in the petting zoo. They also have an inside place to see the smaller animals.

We took a short little drive over to Wheeling last Saturday. After eating lunch at the Oglebay golf course grill we headed over to the Good zoo.
This is a small zoo, but they had some interesting exhibits. It looked like the inside area that housed the red panda, alligator, and other reptiles was recently remodeled. There were several hands on areas for young children. There is also a replica 1800s CP Huntington train that will take you on a ride around the zoo.
The animals were out and active on the day we were there. We saw miniature donkeys, goats, many different reptiles, cheetahs, ostrich, a bear, zebras, etc... The path around the zoo is shaded and there are a few small waterfalls. It is a nice place to spend 2 hours.

My husband and I really enjoyed the zoo. The exhibits were very educational and there were many animals we had never seen at other zoos.

I was passing thru and decided to stop in at the Good Zoo.
What a cute zoo!
It's small enough and has plenty of kid-type activities and animals.
Many were on the train going around the zoo.
I enjoyed all the animals and the good walk. Many people were taking the up-close tour feeding the animals.
This is a great little zoo for kids and adults.

It needs repairs on the walkways. Cut down tress and old weeds line the train tracks. I know it was late April but no out laying snack stands or animal areas open. So we paid $10 a person to walk and look at animals with nothing else. The reptile area had an odor that much more of it and you would gag. We rode the train so we actually went thru an area to see the animals closer, but that was the best thing there.

A nice little zoo offering a very affordable and very nice experience. If you find yourself near Wheeling, WV it is well worth the stop. Small and home to only a few dozen exhibits, the zoo staff is exceptional and welcoming. Many exhibits are laid out to provide maximum viewing opportunities. The zoo is definitely family focused and offers affordability, walkability and a kid & family friendly experience. Located adjacent to beautiful Oglebay parklands there is plenty to do after the zoo.

Spent a lovely Sunday afternoon at the Zoo. It is a small but sweet zoo and the animals are well cared for. I can't believe how tame the Kangaroos are. It is a nice place to share a family day.

We have made this zoo part of our family Christmas light tour tradition. The grounds are clean and the animals seem healthy and cared for. The staff is friendly and seems knowledgeable.

We took our kids to the Good Zoo. Besides the animals, which are very good, the kids love the model train room and the train ride!

We really like this zoo and go there every time we visit Oglebay Park. It is a small zoo but has a variety of animals and a lot of activities for children.

Very nice zoo at Oglebay, not many animals and getting from spot to spot is sometimes a hilly walk. Little train ride is fun. Food (hot dogs, popcorn) is mediocre. We still really enjoyed ourselves.

My grandkids love the Good Zoo. They have a membership, and it is reciprocal to other zoos throughout the country.
The zoo currently has a dinosaur exhibit. Can't wait to take the kiddos for that one!! How can you go wrong with kids and a zoo??

It's a small zoo on a loop. It was a bit chilly but open during covid. It was inexpensive. The animals were adorable especially the red pandas. My only concern was a lot of the animals were solo and seemed to be in smaller enclosures than maybe they should be. Staff was friendly.

This was a great activity even in the midst of the pandemic. The animal exhibits were spaced far enough apart that the visitors could maintain social distancing and still enjoy watching the animals. Although there are not a lot of animals there was a lot of variety in species. The habitats were roomy and clean. The Meercats were my favorite and I was able to get close because of the exhibit design. The animals looked healthy and appeared content. I thought the educational information provided was interesting and informative as it discussed where the animals are found and threats that they face. We visited on a Tuesday in October and it wasn't crowded so we enjoyed a leisurely stroll through the zoo.

My boyfriend and I booked a small weekend getaway at Oglebay during their Festival of Lights holiday season. During our stay, we decided to visit the Good Zoo.
WRONG IDEA. A VERY POOR DECISION, INDEED.
The zoo was crowded with tourists from 4 large tour buses and the shabby little "zoo" was packed to capacity. So much so that, in the case of an emergency, I felt unsafe.
I feel, when animals are kept properly, zoos can be a positive, educational experience for all. However, I felt that the animals felt stressed and overwhelmed with the gratuitous amount of activity and NOWHERE in their shabby, tiny enclosures to hide. Some of the exhibits were not populated with creatures at all!
My boyfriend and I stayed a maximum of 10 minutes. On checkout, we asked that our admission to this "zoo" be comped to our room.
This "zoo attraction" is a disgrace and, I feel, should be shut down for the comfort and sanity of these poor creatures.

We spent time at the zoo this past weekend as we awaited driving through the lights festival. This zoo is small, but well maintained and rather updated for the enclosures they had. The Red Pandas are so playful which you do not get to see at most zoos. This was very exciting. For small children this would be ideal as the small size of the overall park is easy to navigate and they have a few interactive opportunities.
The Laser Show was great and I would think that their adaptation and offerings would be interesting throughout the year. We saw the Christmas rendition which was very well done.
The staff is nice and they have opportunities for intimate animal encounters which for kids with a keen interest in animals would find it quite exhilarating.

We visit here often and have become members of the zoo. My 11 year old girls love coming here and also attend the zoo camps in summer. It makes for aperfect afternoon, and the train ride thru the park is always fun

If you go to Oglebay to see the Festival of Lights, don't miss the Good Zoo as part of the experience; especially if you have kids with you. There is an additional admission charge for the Zoo, but The Good Zoo has a lot of indoor attractions even when there is snow on the ground. They have a theater with a (new) laser show; a large operating model train layout; a whole wing of various live creatures for you see; an educational interactive nature activity area for the kids; and a spectacular light show on the back patio every twenty minutes beginning at 5PM. There is also a fast food counter with a dining area, and a full gift shop.

I thought this was a nice zoo for the size. We walked around and saw it all in under 2 hours. It was the right size to entertain the kid for the morning and not be totally exhausted. The playground was in pretty rough shape and none of the food stands were open so we got a bit thirsty as we were going through. We did not do the train.

I brought a friend of mine who has an extreme fascination with red pandas for the ultimate animal encounter. I knew not to expect this zoo to be anything real fancy, but it was nice to be able to look at the animals when it wasn't crowded and I didn't have to worry about fighting with anyone. I typically go to the national zoo and it's more of a zoo outside of the cages and pens than it is inside. The Good Zoo had incredibly friendly staff and a very clean park.
The animal encounter was awesome. Amber the red panda was definitely worth going to hang out with and she cooperated when it came to feeding her various fruits. The staff member who was with us on September 7th gave us warning that she may not be cooperative that day and made sure we understood that her behavior does vary day-to-day and was also very passionate in her answers and care of the animals. We also got to go in the cage with the ring-tailed lemurs and even fed a couple pieces of fruit from outside of the cage to the mongoose lemurs. In the pen for the otters, we got to feed the otters and watch them in action and even toss a couple apples to the bear. The price to actually enter the zoo is reasonable and the experience with the animals was priceless. I hope to hear that they get a few more red pandas and maybe a few more animals in the future, but I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to give it a shot, but don't expect an exotic animal safari.
Well done, Good Zoo

The light show is fantastic and the zoo is very nice. The shop has a nice variety of items that can be purchased.

The train ride is just that: a ride. The only three animals you see are a couple of zebras, an ostrich an some African wild dogs. It is fine if you have children who enjoy trains, but don't expect to see the zoo. The petting zoo had some goats and mules to look at and touch. The highlight is the bird sanctuary with friendly birds that you can hold. Most of the other animals are hard to see and limited in quantity. I have been there 3 times and that is by far enough.

We have a great time at the Good zoo! The Holiday laser and light show were great! My little one loves the train ride!

Animals you normally don't see at a zoo. Our grandson, who lives a half mile from the Columbus zoo and visits it often, didn't want to leave.

Me and my husband was really surprised & enchanted to see all the animals they had. Red Panda, Kangaroo , Bald Eagle, etc. you can have a ride around the zoo on a small train and even feeding birds.

Very disappointed after 34 years of attending boo at the zoo I can say I will never go back there were no carved pumpkin trail no carved pumpkins anywhere there were hardly decorations at all and the train ride was awful no one there for a little scare and they went from 10 treats to 8 they had very limited food to purchase
. What a shame !

I loved walking to see the animals pretty much in their natural habitat. The property is well maintained and pleasant to see. Keep in mind, there is a lot of walking!

Perfect place for a family visit although I went with a friend. The animals were well kept and the environment very pleasing and good.

Although we visited off season we thought getting to the Zoo by 4PM would be adequate time. It wasn't. WE were disappointed to find the Zoo closed when we arrived. Make sure you plan ahead and check their times!

It was small, but animals where nice to see up close. Kangaroo's were out. Ok price, Nice place to take smaller childrem.

this is a great place to visit not only for the little ones but adults as well, very clean easy access plenty of parking

This is a very small zoo but worth the stop. There are a few animals in the main entrance building as well as a light display. Outdoors there is a long loop you can walk to view their outdoors animals as well as a train ride that was about 15 minutes long. Fun little zoo and nice workers.

We paid over $300 for the red panda “encounter” booking one year in advance. When we got there, they failed to let us know one of the pandas had died and the other one didn’t like people. We had to wear face masks and gloves making photos impossible. And we were not allowed to touch or interact with the panda in any way. So basically we stood there with our outstretched arm with a grape on our gloved hand until she came and took it without getting near us. The disappointment must’ve been palpable because then they offered to take us to the lemurs instead. But it was basically the same thing, just a glorified feeding. So if you want to pay hundreds of dollars to have an animal take a grape out of your gloved hand then I guess this is for you.

We are members of the zoo program and have visited many other zoos beyond this one. First, it was much cheaper to buy our zoo membership here than the Pittsburgh Zoo. This entitles is to 50% off admission to many zoos nationwide. They were having an Easter egg hunt and we found that to e worth the $4.95 we paid for it. It's a smaller zoo but perfect for our 2-year- old daughter. Didn't have the opportunity to ride the train. My only complaint is that they didn't keep up with the animal waste in the petting zoo/ lorikeet encounter as much as needed. We will visit again!

We had a great time at this little zoo! We booked and animal encounter with the lemurs and we loved every second of it. Our guide, Sharon, was so kind and knowledgeable, and the lemurs were so entertaining. It was definitely worth the extra money! Now the laser show, on the other hand, was not worth it. It was very short and very basic, for lack of a better word. We would return to this zoo!

Highly recommend the animal encounter. We did the otters and red pandas- we got a personal tour from the zoo curator and got to actually feed the animals. Very unique- never done anything like it.

We visited the Good Zoo today with our grandson, who was in from out of town. We were very disappointed at many aspects, the train ride, except for the fact of being a ride on a train, was very disappointing! The wetlands where the swans, turtles etc.. were was a mess. There was only 2 swans,1 duck & 2 turtles that we barely could see through all the algae on the water!! This was a disgrace! The play area's were not clean or maintained very well. We have been to this zoo many times in the past and it is a shame, it never was like this and they should be ashamed of it being let go to this extent!! If it hadn't been for the fact that our grandson is only 2 years old and doesn't know better, this trip would of been even that much worse. He enjoyed riding a train and getting to see a donkey, goat and a duck! There were other animals and we didn't get to go to the lorikeet exhibit, it usually was one of the best things on visits, but what we did experience was sub par! May have been our last visit!!

There was 6 of us for the zoo and laser light show was 65.00 I thought it was a bit much. I hope the zoo animals eat well on that price. Our local zoo that is over 50 acres only cost 8.00 a person.

We visited the zoo during the "Festival Of Lights" and really enjoyed the light show outside and the laser light show inside at night. We returned the next day to take in the train display and to visit the animals. This was about my third visit to the zoo, and I always discover something that I hadn't noticed before. My all time favorites are the Red Pandas, but all the animals I saw looked healthy and well taken care of.
I was glad that I had been there before, because the descent from and the ascent to the Visitor Center is quite steep. Being a senior citizen I had a problem with that, and I couldn't make it through the whole zoo either.
We were a little pressed for time and didn't persist, but it might be worthwhile asking at the Visitor Center for a ride up or down on one of their golf carts.

It is very nice and kid and adult friendly. We enjoyed the walk around the zoo and the gift shop was full of great gifts that children of all ages would love. The lights and music was great as well as the laser light show.

This zoo is underwhelming. We started with the train ride and saw two zebra, an ostrich and some painted dogs. We then walked around the zoo and there were about 5 other attractions to see and very few animals.

My wife and I drove 3 1/2 hours to Wheeling to see "what was there". One of our stops was the zoo. I have been at the Cincinnati Zoo many times and it's one of the best in the country. However, what I liked about the zoo in Wheeling was that it wasn't too large for families with little kids where they tire quickly and you only see half (of a larger zoo). We also saw a few animals that we've never seen in Cincinnati. My wife and I also liked that we able to get close to many animals such as goats, donkeys, kangaroos, llamas, etc. We enjoyed watching the otters swimming just inches from us.
We spent just a little under two hours at the zoo and really enjoyed ourselves. We will definately go back.

We came to West Virginia because the Good Zoo is one of a few in the US that allow for a red panda encounter. We planned this visit in advance and scheduled an encounter with a sloth and the red pandas. It’s a small quaint zoo. When we went it was raining and a little cold so we were the only ones walking around. We saw a lot of great animals - unique experience - you can actually walk through the kangaroo/wallaby enclosure. Fairly interactive zoo. The encounters were great. Susan did the sloth encounter with Sweetpea and she was great, very knowledgeable and passionate. We got to learn a lot about the species. The red panda encounter was really an experience. Their enclosure is indoor/outdoor and quite sizeable. They had 3 red pandas living there with very different personalities. We were able to enter enclosure and hand feed them and just observe their behavior. We learned a lot about their mannerisms and behaviors. We got more time than the encounters were actually scheduled for. It was just a very educational and rewarding experience. Everyone working there were very friendly and clearly care deeply about these animals. Would definitely recommend a visit.

This is a smaller zoo, but the animals were all very alert and seemed to be very happy in their enclosures. It was a great place to take the kids. We all enjoyed it very much. It was clean and obviously well managed.

This zoo is fun for the whole family in a beautiful setting and very easy to get too. When the weather is nice a great way to spend an afternoon

We expected it to be a small little thing, not many animals, ect but we couldn't be more wrong. There were real zoo animals, bears, ect. and the animals came right up to the window so we got a very close look

A nice stop if your spending the day near Oglebay. The animals seem to have a lot of space and look healthy. Its just a nice small zoo.

This is not a zoo you'd travel any distance to visit; but if you're in Wheeling or staying at Oglebay Park, then you need to stop. It is small but very well done. Several of their exhibits are nicer than what you see at the large municipal zoos.

We visit the Good Zoo on most of our trips to Wheeling. They don't have a lot of exotic animals, but the animals they have are well cared for, the park is clean and pleasant to walk around, and the staff is friendly. They offer one-on-one encounters which are a wonderful treat.

The zoo was a great size for smaller children. Hands on exhibits were nice the kids could interact with the animals. The Dinosaur exhibits was not to scary for the little ones.

The good zoo is filled with many animals but some of them belong on farms and are not what you would expect to see at a zoo. There are some kangaroos and wallabies, exotic birds that you can feed, and a few zebras. They are removing the African painted dogs and will have a cheetah in their place. I disagree with the way the enclosures are kept at the zoo. Some are much too small for the animals and they do not provide much enrichment. The bear is kept in a concrete enclosure by itself. The pond where certain turtles are located used to be well kept but now it stinks and there are unhappy black swans that live near it. Many animals don't have companions either. There is a train you can ride but it's an up charge even if you buy a family pass. That pass will allow you a discounted price at other zoo's as well as the wilds in zanesville Ohio. There is also a playground and a gift shop. In the main building there is a play area for children and reptiles. They also offer a pretty elaborate model train display.

We take my granddaughter here every year for the past three years. It is just the right size for small children. They don't get too tired and it is not so busy as to be overwhelming for them. There are a lot of hands on exhibits for them to play with. And don't forget the trains, the models and the miniature train that goes around the zoo.

This zoo is perfect for parents of little ones ( but ALL ages will enjoy it), they can run free of the stroller and you don't have to worry about them getting lost in a sea of people. You also don't have to fight the crowds of people trying to see a glimpse of an animal. There is plenty of parking, clean bathrooms scattered throughout the park and fun little side adventures. We enjoyed hearing the dinosaurs roar and mining for gemstones and fossils. The admission price is $9.00 for adults, and further discounted if you have a reciprocal membership to another zoo. Be sure to check the web page for the list. The food, of course, is awful much like every other zoo I have been to. Chicken nuggets hot dogs, pre cooked frozen maybe beef paties...it wold be nice to see a fresher/ healthier selection of food. And in a place that serves mostly families with you g children please make it a priority to stocks up the ketchup packets!! I found it very convient that all the little out posts in the zoo accept credit cards not just cash only. So if you forget to stop at the ATM before arriving you can still ride the train or get water ;). Overall we enjoyed our day! My two and three year old walked the entire park and didn't complain once.

We went to this zoo spur of the moment. Upon arrival we realized it was closing early for a Brew Zoo. However, we opted for a all day wrist band for extra activities. We enjoyed the zoo, many beautiful exhibits. The teens loved the lorikeet exhibit. We also went on paddle boats and did mini golf with our bands. This was a nice little zoo that was alot of fun. Well worth it!

A very nice local zoo. Not as big as the ones in the big cities, but works for a family afternoon. Depending on the age of the kids & how fast you walk it would take 1-4 hours to get through the zoo.
Likes-Nice assortment of animals. Nice walking path. Parrot feeding is always great. large play ground for the kids to burn off more energy. Gift shop is big. Large pond with feeders & waterfall.
Dislikes- Train extra. wasted space (could have more). Not many options for food.

Our family vacation went to Oglebay this year. As per of our plans include things for everyone the zoo was a nice addition. I have read some bad reviews about this but I kept in mind it is part of a resort not a stand alone zoo. It's really inexpensive especially when you get the activity bands. I personally found it quite charming but as I said you need to keep in mind it is part of a resort.

Perfect for small children, the train was very pleasant. The variety of animals is good and the park is clean. Not a huge zoo that takes all day to see. The snack bar and gift shop were very reasonable in prices

The Oglebay Good Zoo is tiny but very nice. It's in a pretty wooded setting with a scattering of decent exhibits. The animals are obviously well cared for as they were boast recent births of endangered animals such as African Painted Dogs, Grevy's Zebra, and Golden Lion Tamarins. They also had a unique mixed species exhibit of Red Panda and Serow, I've never seen Red Pandas and hoofstock together before!

This was our second time to this event and we enjoyed a lovely evening of wonderful food and beer samplings. The music was GREAT! We really enjoyed the availability of interaction and education about the animals. Although it was difficult to pick just one favorite animal that evening the sloth had to be my favorite. The evening had the potential to be a disaster due to the rain and pending storms, however we were really blessed to have rain earlier in the day and immediately following the event...must be the efforts of the Good People at the Good Zoo, Good Job!

This is a surprisingly nice little zoo. It was awesome to get so close to some of the animals - check out the kangaroos where you walk in the same area where they roam freely or take the train through the zebra and ostrich enclosure! There are also some interesting animals that we've rarely or never seen at even some very large zoos.

We walked through the zoo along with the train display. Let's just say I enjoyed the train display better. Zoo is very small not much to look at if any of the animals are out. Train display ok don't buy any food her it is only snack food wait and go into twinto eat. This place is ok it's set up for small kids not adults. Best way to sum this place up is just average.

Good place to visit , no pun intended , if you are staying near Wheeling .
Nice day out for the kids in beautiful surroundings
Id recommend it !

We have been going to Oglebay since 1985 and love it. One thing that we never skip is a visit to the zoo. This visit we were disappointed that the otter exhibit was gone. That was our favorite part of the zoo and it is replaced with cheetahs. Cheetahs are fine but they mostly just lay in the sun and the otters used to put on a show. I am sure that the otters were very difficult for upkeep. The albino alligator has been there a long time and is cool to see ( although he doesn’t move much either). The old fashioned train ride is a must for young children.

My husband and I stayed at Oglebay for a night and got the activity wristbands package. The package included admission to this zoo. Upon entering, we discovered that there was more here than what we thought (we thought it was just a building with indoor animals but there is an outside part as well). While it is a very small zoo, there are enough animals to keep you entertained for an hour or two. We had just visited the Columbus zoo two days prior, so this zoo is very small compared to that. It is a very nice, clean zoo. We saw some animals that we did not see at the Columbus zoo, and the best part was that it was not crowded at all. Not all of the animals were visible, but that is to be expected. I enjoyed the time we spent here. The one worker was walking around with another guest explaining different things about each animal and my husband and I kept ending up at the same places, so it was interesting to listen to things we wouldn't have known otherwise. It seems like the people working here really care about the animals. They have a small snack stand and a gift shop as well. Our wristband included the train ride but we did not do that.

We took out grandson to visit the zoo because he had not been there since they moved to the Pittsburgh area . He likes to see the animals but he was really looking forward to riding on the train. However, they are not there anymore. That is the reason for the four. What will they take away next. Seems like Oglebay is not interested in keeping the good zoo updated.

We were all disappointed today at the zoo. There are very few animals! Most of the ones they have, you couldn’t even see. The petting zoo or barn is a joke, 2 donkeys and a few goats. I’m sorry, for the price you pay, it’s not worth it! The train ride should at least be included, because it’s not worth the price either. It use to be a nice ride, but now it’s boring. They doing some kind of African Savannah or something opening next year. Don’t waste your money on something like that! Bring the Lorikeets back. Bring the cows or ducks or other smaller animals back, so we have more to see, not just one bigger display. I was excited for my grandson to pet some animals, but he really didn’t get to. I haven’t been there for 11 years and I don’t think I’ll ever be back. Don’t waste your money!

This zoo was created after a family lost their 7 year old son and decided to donate money for the creation of a zoo in his name. It's a sad but sweet backstory for this small but fun zoo. Don't expect the sort of larger animals you would from a larger metropolitan zoo, instead enjoy it for what it is, a well-done zoo with just enough interesting animals to make it worth your while. If you're in the area or driving through its worth a stop, it won't take you too long to get through. Pay the extra few bucks (maybe 5?) to ride their small train and check out the model train display in the main building. All of n all a fun place with character but nothing to drive to far out of the way too see unless you're obsessed with zoos like I am.

The Oglebay Park Good Zoo reflects the geography of the town: hills and valleys.
This is a boutique zoo well laid out, but not for the unfit. The exhibits are separated by hills and valleys. Walk up for the bear and otters then back to the level you started only to go down for the zebra. And it continues like that for the whole trail.
Some of the inclines might be difficult for older folk or tiring for the young. Not a good place for strollers or wagons.
Not on the zoo's map, but definitely a must see is the eagle found in the wetlands.
You are able to walk though the habitat for the kangaroos and wallabys.
Parakeet landing is enclosed and you can feed the parakeets there.
There is a large model train set up which could use more lighting, but is fun to watch.
Also in the zoo is a playground to help tire out the young ones.
The animals all looked well cared for, and the zoo itself is very clean.
I didn't take the train ride, but that could be the highlight of ones trip.

Adult only event was a blast to learn all about the animals love life. Great brunch, mimosas were the only thing missing.
We had a blast with the zoo employees and animals :) thanks for a great afternoon.

Took the kids for a couple of hours. Was kind of off the beaten' path... But nice scenery gettin there! Nice zoo, just not a lot of animals.

Not many animals outside because of the cold and the animated dinosaurs were pretty far from the main building. Having two youngsters made it a little rough and wife with bad knees and hip had a very hard time walking around the place. Would have been nice if they rented all of the golf carts they had parked there

We had a blast at the Easter treasure hunt. It was a cold and somewhat snowy day but employees and volunteers were great. So nice and welcoming. Kids got awesome snacks in a basket along the way through the zoo. We really liked going in and petting the goats.

Though the outdoor zoo was closed, there was a marvelous outdoor light display. We loved the laser show and model trains as well.

We still go to this every year we visit Oglebay at Christmas, but every year I leave wondering why the admission price is so high. We typically spend 1.5 hours here, and its too cold to go see the animals the time of year we visit...

Lots of walking up and down hill's. Many of the outside animals were lounging in the shade because it was so hot. Food and drink is pricey, but overall it was very nice.

The animals are well cared for. However, I saw a lot of broken concrete and rotting public fences. Zoo needs a little TLC and a new reawakening. The indoor facilities were well designed and well kept.

Nice place. Animal enclosures were clean. Definitely recommend for families w/ children. Staff/volunteers were nice. Has wonderful hands on things for children to do & explore. Train ride is available but you only see 3 animals on it. I recommend walking tour first...then train, because you could relax and there was acool breeze. A lot of walking...nothing too strenuous.

Feeding the lorikeets is a blast! Bring quarters so you can feed the goats! We knew this was a small zoo but it had a lot of activities and wasn't crowded! Our kids loved playing vet, doing puzzles, and all the other fun activities set up in the main building. I just wish it opened earlier...it was so hot by 10am when it opened that our kids were guzzling water and we had to make many trips to the bathroom. Arrive right at 10am and go straight over to feed the lorikeets, then play on the playground and see all the other animals so you can be back in the main building which has AC by the time it gets really hot! Our kids spent 3 hrs just in the main building watching the model train, doing hands on activities, looking at the aquariums, and in the gift shop!

We visit this every year when we go to the festival of lights. it's a must see. It's often hands on.

Smaller zoo, so it's perfect for younger children. Since it is smaller, felt more "interactive" than larger zoos. Our young daughter loved the train ride. We got the caboose & a zebra chased right at us. Our little one screamed (half thrilled/half fright, ha!). Kangaroos were out & about. Boys seemed to love the dinosaur exhibit.

My Girl Scout trip stayed over night at the Good Zoo. They were kept busy with activities, games, night walk and lots of good snacks. The next day started with breakfast, a tour of the zoo, and a train ride. The best part was the history behind each animal with an opportunity to touch or pet the various animals. A once in a lifetime experience. Highly recommend for children and adults! It was a great time.

We were there in early-November. this is a nice zoo if you are at Oglebay or live in the area. Not so much as a singular destination.

Family members and I were at Oglebay Park Good Zoo/Benedum Theater on Dec. 21, 2013 around 6:30 pm for the first time. We were charged the full price adult ticket to find out that the animals that were outside were in complete darkness. The entire outside zoo area was pitch black. We had no idea what to expect since our first time at the zoo and thought it would've been lighted since it's open until 9 pm. Even the lady we purchased our tickets from never said you can't tour the outside zoo. Nothing on their current website indicates this either but states the zoo is open until 9 pm. You can see the laser show, outdoor 10 min. music lighted trees, train, and small indoor reptile areas. But why is the public being charged full price when you cannot view everything for the full price ticket? We were thoroughly disgusted and disappointed.
Also, you can go to a gift shop and small concession stand without purchasing a ticket. There is a sign indicating you will need tickets to the zoo and laser show, but no one takes your tickets, you don't even have to show you have tickets, but can just walk right on in. If we were dishonest people, we could have walked in without paying, and we wondered how many people did just that. This needs to be better monitored.
The 15 min. laser show, 10 min. outdoor music lighted trees, train, and small reptile exhibit is OK, but if you don't have time to see them, you are not missing much. Cannot comment on the outside zoo, since we couldn't see it in the dark.

went for the day the kids liked what they saw and didn't want too leave but they liked seeing the different animals and talked about how they were all different..

We are Wheeling locals and have been enjoying the Good Zoo for years. My children have never missed the annual Easter event, or Boo at the Zoo. It's a wonderful zoo for adults and kids of all ages - a playground, indoor and outdoor exhibits, a train ride, lots of benches if you need a break, Christmas lights and laser shows and friendly staff. In addition, with the reciprocal zoo discount, our Good Zoo membership pays for itself in one visit to a larger zoo.
For the past two summers, my now 7-year-old has attended zoo camp at the Good Zoo. This year, he attended all 5 camps and had a wonderful time. From friendly volunteers and counselors, ease of pick up and drop off, flexible before and after care, and varied programs, the Good Zoo camp was an easy choice among the many Wheeling has to offer. My son came home every day to share what he learned, the details of his most recent animal encounter and excited to return the next day. He is already planning for next summer! Thank you Oglebay Good Zoo for being a cherished part of this community!

This zoo was nice to visit with our 2 year old grand daughter on a Sunday afternoon. She loved the train ride! We walked the outer loop around the zoo and was able to see all the animals. I felt that the playground area needs new mulch; it was muddy and puddled under the swings. The zoo is very hilly which was not a problem for us but a stroller could be tough to push up some of the hills.

My 9 year old daughter and I started our excursion in and around the Wheeling area by visiting this zoo. Our local zoo membership gave us reciprocity so it didn't cost us anything to get in and I'm glad we didn't have to pay because this zoo is pitiful. There is lots of walking, many hills and not many animals. I would venture to say there are a total of 30 live animals and probably 5 dinosaur displays. The center pond was covered in green slime and there was 1 swan and 1 turtle in the entire pond. The train ride is an additional cost and it literally takes you out by the mechanical dinosaur, back through the zebra exhibit and through a lot of woods and trees.
I would stay away from this attraction and spend your vacation money elsewhere.

Great little zoo with a varied collection of interesting species. A great AZA asset.
Not what I would call a destination zoo to spend the day (although I did) but a great stop if you're in the area for something or passing through on a leisurely trip. Animals outnumbered guests when I was there. Very challenging terrain but it is West Virginia.
Great and abundant staff. Someone posted at almost every enclosure to interact/answer questions. Some were more engaging than others. The keepers working with the tamarins in the main building were very informative/educational. Doing target training while I was there.
The enclosures are well done habitats and pretty roomy...but it makes catching a shot of the red wolf pups very challenging. The Aussie walkabout is not to be missed. Luna is one active alligator. And Zara is one of the most interactive snow leopards I've ever encountered. Actually played chase with me...behind the barrier.

A small but adequate zoo to take the kids to let the see and become aware of how quite a few animals the zoo have are endangered and are in the breeding program to try to get the numbers up.

Took our kids here for a couple hours to see the animals. It was a terrifically hot day (104), and most of the attractions were inactive.
Theres a fun activity next to the Australia exhibit. You can go into an enclosed (by a net) area and feed some birds nectar ($1 each cup). My niece really enjoyed that.
Overall, don't plan on a whole day here. A few hours will easily get you through.

It was very clean No long lines we could take our time to see the animals. It is a small Zoo but the kids had a blast. They loved feeding the birds! The walk is easy but some of the hills might be hard if you are pushing a double stroller.

This zoo was just the right size for a couple of hours with my 3yo on foot and pushing my 11mo in a stroller.
I should have brought quarters and dollars to buy food for feeding the animals....
You get to pet so many! Bring some hand wipes!
And bring sunscreen!! (Don't pet the animals with oily palms tho!)
STAFF all were so personable, and several went over and beyond to make our visit extra special.
Yes, several animals are rehab-they are at this zoo to heal from injuries or being raised there (like an alligator we met being raised for another zoo).
If you have personal convictions against zoos-sure, don't go (and stop reviewing zoos-lol)! But if you want an educational experience and to spend a few hours in the lovely outdoors with some amazing animals-give it a try! Your entrance fee makes the lives there better!

The train is still there. Everyone was very nice. Would have liked to have had the time for the animal encounters. Really nice bird aviary to feed nectar. Website doesn't mention the gem mining for the kids located next to the aviary. The snack bar had burgers and hot dogs. Parking is free. Took about 2 hours to get thru which included the train ride and feeding birds.

The Good Zoo is small, you can walk the whole place with stopping to see all of the animals in about an hour. We really enjoyed the kangaroo section as the kangaroos can hop right up close to you as the fences are low strings. With that in mind, we kept our toddler in the stroller. There is a great indoor section at the beginning with amphibians, reptiles, and other small animals. Great for kids to get up close to animals and there are different toys to engage small kids in the zoo world.

Went here for the Lazer Light Show and the train display in the basement. Food is available but it's hot dogs, etc. A small fee is required but worth it. I did not visit the zoo animals but have been told it's a nice zoo.

It was worth it for the model train. I thought it was an interesting layout (unfortunately half of it was down when we were there). We got to see the cleanup after the meal of the 193 pound 21 foot ball python. There are meerkats and the laser show was good. Outside was closed but they offered us tickets to return free of charge. Friendly staff.

This is a small zoo inside Oglebay park. It is very clean and the staff are friendly. They have a good amount of animal enclosures.

Great little zoo - perfect for quick visit! Great train station room filled with huge model train and hands on activities for kids. Worth the visit if you aren't comparing to a big city zoo.

I have gone many times, however each time I go I get more discouraged at the animal selections. It's nice if you area already in Wheeling, or at Oglebay. My 4 year old niece loves it. The play ground is the highlight.

We spent a fantastic afternoon at this zoo. The animals all look so happy and well cared for and the staff truly care for them. It is also very reasonably priced and the grounds are lovely to walk around. Can’t recommend it enough

Saw the show before we went thru the zoo it was awesome.. It is a long walk going thru the zoo but was surprised how many animals were there since we were there in Nov. Also very cold

If you want a great kids friendly day, visit this hidden little gem. You get to interact with kangaroos and wallabies and llamas and donkeys. For a fee you can enter the exhibit and interact with meerkats, or red pandas and the sloth.

Please note that the zoo is on the grounds and it is very well staffed and the staff does an excellent job, the animals are very well cared for my only complaint is that there were very few animals to warrant calling this a zoo. it was a little dissapointing. We stayed on the grounds and we enjoy this kind of thing but it was just a little lame. It had nothing to do with Oglebay or the gals that were working. They were very knowledgable and kept things extremely clean and the animals seemed well cared for.

I took my daughter for a sloth encounter....she had a blast!!! Lauren the zookeeper was AWESOME...she truly loves the animals and was so kind during our visit. She is very knowledgeable about the sloth and this small zoo holds mighty animals. The animals seem to be well taken care of and even though the facility is small and older, it was still just as fun as a larger zoo! Will go back for sure!!

Fun little zoo right on the grounds. The trolley goes right by there and you can get off and on as you choose. A great option for families with kids or anyone who enjoys a zoo.

This zoo is an amazingly good Zoo considering it is in the middle of a resort park. It takes about 2 hours to go through including the train ride. The train ride is worth it since it takes you all over the zoo including parts you can't get to on foot. The high light for my young grandchildren was the kangaroo exhibit where you could get right up next to the animals and even pet them (probably not encouraged). There are a variety of animals including red pandas, lemurs, zebras, a cheetah, meerkats, reptiles, etc. but not the large animals such as elephants or lions. It is a pleasant way to spend a few hours with your family.

We spent the night in the lodge Christmas night and only drove around to see the lights. As per tradition my daughter wanted to see the laser show and now this year the reindeer. For myself, my daughter and my mom it cost $34. This was outrageous. All we saw was a 15 min laser show, the 2 reindeer outside and some snakes/birds/monkeys. Absolutely not worth the money especially in the winter and it's 20 degrees out so not able to walk around the zoo. Also since it was daytime the light show is not available.

The selection is very limited. The idea of a Zoo is a Zoological Park and I don't think qualifies as a Park. It is more of a wildlife exhibit.

Small but nice. Staff are super nice and well educated. Nice petting farm area that kids love. Train ride too!

This is a nice little zoo. Unfortunately two animals passed in the last few months. Good thing hardly anyone was there. There were plenty to do for the kids, but I’d skip it.

Nice well kept small town zoo. Great selection of animals. Lots of hills and walking though. Take the golf cart shuttle of older or have small children. Awesome train ride and train model set up . Worth a stop. Prices are just right too.

My small children love going to the Good Zoo. We take the long way around the zoo, play at the super-fun playground, then stop at the train. We live nearby, visit often and enjoy every minute.

We just enjoyed a Friday at the Zoo. While it is small it is still well maintained and the employees were very pleasant.

I like this little zoo, it doesn't get as crazy as the Pittsburgh Zoo but it's enjoyable! One flaw I have is the Serval and the exhibit, the poor Serval's pacing and moving around like she's confused or scared, doesn't help it's near a very noisy playground though. Everything else is okay though.

2 zebras
2 ostrich
2 river otters
1 crazy looking/acting bear
1 blue tongued lizard
1 burmese python
some naked mole rats
fake dinosaur display
2 poorly maintained playgrounds
1 extra squeaky train
6 lorakeets (1.oo per cup of sugar water) and
1 blue pheasant
...............and a closing time of 5:00 in the summer???
no discount for educators?
map is incorrect when it states there are wild dogs in a pen...looked pretty deserted.
Oglebay should be ashamed at those prices for this amount of animals. I read the statement that you explained that most cities of 30,000 don't have a zoo and that you are fortunate to have it. I disagree at this price point. Keep the zoo but charge what it is really worth. If you are having to charge so much to maintain the few animals then the real question is....is it worth it?
My opinion?? NO!
Save your money and go to Pittsburgh Zoo!

My adult daughter and I have visited many zoos across the U.S. and find that oftentimes the smaller ones are among the most interesting. Such was the case with Oglebay.
Aside from visiting on a tremendously busy day (700 kids from various schools on end-of-year field trip), we really enjoyed ourselves and were able to see most of the animals and even get up close to some.
There is a lot of walking involved and most of the terrain is hilly, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend this activity for a hot/humid day.
The $9.95 admission price is very reasonable (we got in for half price due to zoo membership reciprocity), parking is free, there is a great gift shop with a large assortment of irresistibly cute stuffed animals, and there are snack bars with fairly reasonable (for a zoo) prices.
The snack bars were not open when we were there, but since the zoo is relatively small it only takes an hour or so to get from one end to the other, so access to food/drinks wasn't an issue for us. We left after we finished visiting the animals and just went into Wheeling for lunch.

Another fun family event for the Wheeling area. It's not fancy but it's fun for kids to dress up and ride the train at night and trick or treat at the stations. We go every year and my children love it

We're local to the zoo, so we frequently go here because of that. But if we were not I would not recommend driving too far to only visit the zoo. If you're already in the area, sure, it's nice for the family. There aren't many "large" animals. Zebras, kangaroos, llamas, 1 bear. There's a barn with an owl, donkeys, pigs. A new dinosaur exhibit with about 8 or so Dino's. A few smaller animals. There is a train ride. The train has broken down more than once on us. During Halloween season and Easter you can visit for themed days... And Christmas there is a nice light show. But again, great for a couple hours but don't plan an entire day. (The playground is in desperate need if replacent and care or just to be taken out. Dangerous, falling apart.)

I am in love with Red Pandas, so my husband and I planned an entire road trip around going to the Good Zoo and doing the animal encounter. It did not disappoint. The Red Pandas were super sweet, and we absolutely loved getting to feed them. We also saw the Kangaroos and Wallabys and the Otters. This zoo is quite small, but well maintained, and the animals are well taken care of.

We went to visit. It is very nice but it opened late and there was probably two dozen people waiting to get in. The staff were very friendly but we all were getting ready to leave.

Went on Saturday December 28. Great weather. Love the walk around the park. It needs a little maintenance but I the animal habitats seem well maintained and the animals all look healthy. Go with the expectation that this is a small little animal park and you will love it. Don't expect the San Diego Zoo and all will be good.

The zoo is small but has alot to offer. The animals are well cared for, the animal enclosures look new and the animals don't appear to be stressed out. There is a variety of animals: big cats: serval, cheetah, and snow leopard. The red pandas are very cute. It is a great place and you can tell they love the animals. We did the serval animal encounter and it is wonderful. Our guide was Alanea and she hand raised the serval since the age of 13 weeks. She is so passionate about the animals and loves them and cares for them. We enter the cage with Alanea and Mikia (the serval) pretty much ignores us. We had a 45 minute encounter that turned into 1 1/2 hours: we sit on the ground and just learn and admire this beautiful animal. Eventually on cat time, we are allowed to feed her and we wear gloves to protect her and us. We make enrichment toys for her and play with her. We don't pet or cuddle her so not to stress her out. I have had multiple encounters with lion cubs, bobcat in Florida and tiger cubs in Myrtle Beach: all wonderful encounters: this one was different because the focus was on the wild animal and not our needs. This zoo is doing tremendous work with the animals so that they are kept wild and well taken care of: I would definitely recommend and ask for Alanea: a kind soul who has the privilege of taking care of beautiful animals and she does it lovingly.

nice little zoo in a great park. it is a nice walk around the zoo, not a lot of animals, the best thing about the place is the park itself. tons of places to walk and it has a really cool waterfall. alot of activities all year round

We attended this years Brew at the Zoo Event and enjoyed a wonderful evening. The food and beverage variety and presentation was a real treat. The lay out was well done. The wait for food or drink was brief if any. Great music. Took the shuttle to see kangaroos and Dino's. The train was relaxing. The Columbus Zoo brought special animals to visit to this event. Very nice addition to the evening. But something that seemed to stand out to us time and time again was the enthusiasm of the Good Zoo Staff. There was a genuine feeling that the staff wanted guests to have a wonderful evening...and we did. Thank you.

The Good Zoo is not your typical metropolitan zoo...it's more like a nature trail through a park with some very unusual animals along the way. The animals are more spread out and you don't see the typical lions and tigers (they do have a bear!), but it's still a wonderful place to visit. The Australian animals are my favorite---you're inside the animal enclosure with the kangaroos and wallabies. While we were there, one hopped right across the sidewalk where we had just been. Inside Lorikeet Landing, you can hold and feed the beautiful birds. There is also a petting zoo where you can pet farm animals. We saw all the outside animals in about 2 hours, took the train ride, then looked at the animals and reptiles inside. There is also a large train display there. Visitors should be aware that there are a lot of hills so you get a nice workout, especially if you're pushing a stroller!

I have been to zoos from Hawaii to Baltimore, from Florida to New York and enjoyed The Good Zoo as much as any. I was impressed with the well thought out habitats for the animals. The featured species were displayed with concern for the creatures and those of us enjoying seeing them. I was impressed at how comfortable I was with my visit. The staff was engaging and helpful each time I had a question and I can't wait to visit again soon. This was a first class operation and I learned so much while visiting I pulled a muscle in my brain! The gift shop was very interesting, I loved the popcorn snack and the staff was so friendly and helpful. I also liked the wonderful petting zoo part because I am just a person that has spent a long time as a child. The Good Zoo was a place I could be at my best!

The zoo itself is compact and accessible (three stars). What makes this facility stand out is its caring staff and animals. We booked an animal encounter in advance of our visit (this is a five star amazing experience). The zoo staff member was knowledgeable and animal-first focused. Luckily for us, the red panda, goral, ring-tailed lemer, and tortise all liked the foods the zoo provided. We learned a great deal about the animals and the conservation efforts.

Very well maintained, and has a wide variety of critters. One of my favorite parts were the barn animals.

I was very disappointed. This was first time at Boo at the Zoo and I felt the website was misleading. I thought we would be able to see all of the animals. The entertainment was ridiculous. I could get the same sights and treats by walking through a neighborhood trick or treating for free. The train ride seemed like it was necessary, but we had to pay extra money. And why were adults charged more than kids and all get the same amount of treats (doesn't make sense to be charged different amounts) This money could have been spent elsewhere to receive better entertainment. I drove 2 hours to get here and have a family of 6. My kids were disappointed and said that they never want to go back. NOT WORTH THE TRIP OR MONEY.

Nice little zoo. Not a whole lot of animals there but just another attraction to see when you are there.

We went to the Good Zoo as part of the Oglebay Festival of Lights. We wanted to see the Laser Light show, which was advertised as $2 per person. But we couldn't see the laser show without purchasing admission to the zoo, which was actually closed at the time we were there. (It closes at 4.) The employee said we could view the inside animals and I asked how many there were. She said over 40. So, we paid $9.95 per adult and $5.95 per child to get in. We saw the light show. It was decent, but nothing spectacular. A lot of it was just squiggly lines rather than animations, etc. Then we went to see the indoor animals. If there were 40, she must have counted 32 or so fish in the tank. There were tamarins but they were in for the night. So was the macaw. We really only saw a snake, some meerkats, a spider, and an armadillo. We were told we could use our pass to return the next day for the outdoor animals, so we did that. It was nice and made the admission cost more worthwhile, but still a lot of the animals weren't out and about and we couldn't see them. We did get to see the red panda and some barnyard animals. It was pretty spread out and hilly, so if you aren't good with walking hills be wary of that. Our kids enjoyed it, but I could have gotten into the Pittsburgh or Erie Zoo for not much more and seen lots more animals.
I think they should separate the admission to the laser show from the zoo so the two aren't tied together.

I surprised my husband with the maned wolf encounter for his birthday and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! We got to spend time with their two beautiful maned wolves Betts and Luna, feeding them and participating in a couple of fun activities. It was such a unique experience learning about these fascinating animals up close.
Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and made the whole visit even more enjoyable. The wolves do have a bit of a skunky smell that they use to mark their territory but it is not that bad, don't let that stop you from booking this encounter.
Every animal we saw looked heathy and well cared for, and the behind the scenes tour showed us just how much thought and effort goes into making the wolves comfortable.
This may be a smaller zoo but it's full of heart and worth the visit, highly recommend!

This was our second visit here and had just as much fun. Very nicely designed and especially good for younger kids (5 and 8). The train ride was a great bonus.

The walk was nice, great exercise. Multiple convenient facility locations. But all the animals looked really hot and miserable. We didn't get to see the kangaroos because it was so hot they were hiding. There was only one hot lonely zebra. The goats were happy though.
The red panda was panting and so was the bear. The bears water looked stagnant. I know they can't control the heat, I just didn't realize the entire zoo is outside. That bears water needs changed though. Also I was horrified when someone said they clipped the owl and eagles wing so they wouldn't fly away, since they're in an open habitat. Even the tamarins and meerkats inside were in really small habitats. I'm not a zoo hater, the Cleveland zoo was amazing and all animals looked happy. I was just sort of shocked at this one.

The outside was lit up with lights of animals. Inside there was a huge train display and animals. Out on the back patio there were over 35000 lights(I believe) that flickered to music. Amazing!

It is a small zoo with a few animals. There is also a playground about half way through. I visited the zoo with my young son and he especially enjoyed the goats. It is a good place to spend the afternoon with young children.

The zoo was laid out well with a good paved walking path for strollers and restrooms at frequent intervals. Most of the exhibits allowed up close viewing. The day we visited was cool and overcast so animals were lively. An excellent zoo experience.

The weather was beautiful, aside from being pretty hot. Some of the animals seemed a little anxious, but the enclosures were clean and appropriate. Staff was very helpful and pleasant!

Small zoo but a fun stop while waiting for the lights and something to do to make the trip more worthwhile.

I LOVE the Good Zoo. It's small (you will typically spend 1-2 hours here) but there are a good variety of animals and great encounters. You and a guest can have an encounter with just about any animal in the park! These encounters are separate from the zoo admission and usually have to be booked a month in advance, but are worth it.
This visit, I just went to the zoo and had a blast feeding the goats and the lorikeets. It's a great afternoon outing for a family with children.

We visited the Good Zoo this week with our granddaughter. We had not been there in 25 years. The sad news is that there has not been any improvements in that time. Everything is run down, there are hardly any animals; it's sad. A lot of walking and not much to see. The inside exhibit smelled so badly that we didn't even go in. They do have a nice gift shop but the zoo is not worth the price even through it's inexpensive. The train wasn't operating, shops and exhibits were closed. We were very disappointed.

We went to this zoo on a nice warm and sunny day. The zoo is very well kept and clean. While it is a smaller zoo, it is worth visiting if in the area or have never been to a zoo before. It is an excellent place to take young children. There is plenty for them to do here. They have wide paved paths to get around although it is hilly just like most of WV. So, if pushing a stroller, wagon or wheelchair, be forewarned. Many of the exhibits, you can get really close to the animals like the monkeys! Parking is free and admission is reasonable. They have an excellent gift shop, and it appears that the zoo is growing in size with more animals being added. For example, the sign we saw said lions coming in 2026!

My daughter just turned 7 (the "entering 2nd grade" age group) and has been going to zoo camp the past at least 3 years (this year she attended the "Gidgets and Gazmos camp). She loves it! This year, in the camps her age now, the pool is included every afternoon which is so nice. Last year she definately wasn't ready for pool time, so this is the right age to start including it in the camps in my opinion. I can't get a whole lot out of her about what they do each day, but she talks about petting snakes and baby alligators, and seeing all of the other animals at the zoo.
I initially scheduled her for a July camp but I was notified the Friday prior that it was cancelled due to lack of interest. So, just be prepared for that! She was very disappointed but luckily this one (August) has about 10 kids according to my daughter.
The only thing I wish the camp info would have mentioned is that the kids can bring $$ for the concession stand. I didn't realize they would let little kids handle money for this so I didn't even think about it, but the first day my daughter came back, she was complaining that she was so thirsty at the pool but couldn't buy any water because it was $3. If I had known, I would have sent money with her Monday! So, we sent it the following days, so it wasn't a huge deal.
Also, it seems the counselors don't apply sunblock. LUCKILY, my daughter is not prone to sunburns. The instructions tell you to apply it before they leave, but at 8:15am I highly doubt that would last until 1pm at the pool! They are there at least 2 hours, so that's a concern. HOWEVER, to their credit, I did NOT ask them about this, so they very well may have obliged kindly. I'm just saying, be prepared if you will need your child to be protected from the sun and plan ahead.

Great zoo that’s walkable and a nice size, yet has exotic animals and a nice variety. Wonderful one-on-one programs available for adults or families to interact with and feed the animals. Wonderful Halloween celebration every year that kids love.

We visited the Good Zoo with our 5 year old. If you are expecting a large zoo on the order of the Pittsburgh Zoo, you will be disappointed. The Good Zoo is small, with an emphasis on seeing and feeding the animals.
We arrived early and especially enjoyed the lorikeets. The zookeeper working and the interns were especially nice. Who knew lorikeets were so loud! We were able to sit down next to some kangaroos, and feed a llama. The bald eagle and her nest were in plain sight.
Again at the African wild dog exhibit, we came across some interns and they were particularly helpful. The staff seems quite knowledgable and will seek out guests and share information. They didn't stand still waiting to be approached.
The train ride was neat - it was much longer than we had anticipated, and took you through the zebra/ostrich area.
I think we could have spent a good bit more time here - it was not crowded.

The setting is wonderful and the place is set up for the enjoyment of the animals and then we get to enjoy them. They do a nice job here. Very walkable great zoo experience. Education. But, the best thing is it also is an Animal Rehab Center. Hat is off. Thank you for all you do. We will be back for sure.

Enjoyed my visit here. All the animals seemed to be well cared for. All the animals were small to medium size. No large ones like elephants, giraffes etc. You could actually go right up to a wallaby or a kangaroo if they wanted you to. I took the inexpensive golf cart tour and received explanations and background of each animal. Definitely recommend if you have mobility issues. Would definitely recommend.

We visited late in December during the Festival of Lights. The zoo is small and walking around was easy and pleasant in spite of the cold weather. The staff was great and spent a good bit of time talking to us about feeding and other questions we had. All of the animals were close and could be observed easily. You could even walk among the kangaroos which was very cool. We'll be going back again when it's warmer.

We went for the Easter treasure hunt and my kids had an awesome time. The magician was great, hope to make it a yearly tradition.

A great place to take the whole family. The model train is my favorite along with the laser light show. It's a must see.

Upon entry, we were greeted with a smile. Very friendly staff. We enjoyed our visit to the Zoo. Good variety of animals. My son loved the Armadillo’s. We finished our visit with a ride on the train, which was nice. Overall, good visit.

Visited during the lights display, lots and lots of lights with a lazer show and lights choreographed to music on the outside. A nice zoo to be seen inside and out.

So many things need updated at this zoo. Oglebay is a wealthy park but you wouldn't know it by going to their zoo. The animals areas and train need major updating. The only good thing about the good zoo is you week get a work out walking up and down the hills

love the zoo alot more to do the walk the zoo, the train ride is awesome, and if u havent seen the train track set up its a must see. very clever...the movie theater is awesome...boo at the zoo is really a must..nice gift shop a must do for everyone

My sister and I went to the Good Zoo and did the red panda encounter. 10/10 stars. We got to interact with the two red pandas which was an amazing experience. The zoo staff member who led the encounter was awesome - she was super passionate and knowledgeable about the animals. The red pandas were very cute and seemed to be very well taken care of. The Good Zoo is pretty small with a few animals but definitely do the red panda encounter. It was $165 plus tax for my sister and I (which also included zoo admission).
It does look like the cheetah needs a bigger area to roam around in, though.

Four adults made up our zoo party, and I must say, we were all impressed! We were expecting the zoo to be very small, but it actually covers quite a bit of ground, and it is kept up beautifully. All of the animals were out and about the day we went. Our favorites included the kangaroos, red pandas, lemurs, african dogs and the lorikeets. The lorikeets in particular were a lot of fun, perching on shoulders and arms, making for great picture opportunities. The animals just seemed so bright and well cared-for. We were definitely impressed with the Good Zoo. Will be back!

We again visited the Good Zoo and did another animal experience. What a great time!!! Went in to the Red Panda cage. Hand feed the Pandas. Like big pussy cats. Also played wit the river otters. Such funny "girls". They have some new animals. Great little zoo.

This zoo is a perfect circle for a young family with grandparents- It is a short loop and has just enough animals for the little ones and a little park for the kids. The older kids enjoyed it but they got bored fast.

Went to Ohio with my sister and niece for a little zoo trip. We went to the Cincinnati Zoo the day before and didn't think we could handle walking another major zoo in the July heat like the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium on our way home so we decided to try the Oglebay Park Good Zoo. And we're so glad we did. We had an absolutely fantastic time and agreed that we'd come back to this zoo in a heartbeat. It was definitely not as huge as the Cinci Zoo, but the variety of animals as well as the close proximity made the entire visit a wonderful and intimate experience. You could tell the animals were well cared for. The pictures we were able to take here were far better than in Cincinnati and the number of animal interactions along the way were priceless. When do you get to pet a kangaroo or see llamas, alpacas and turtles being walked? The zoo keepers were very friendly and informative and every volunteer was helpful and you could tell they all absolutely loved their jobs. I highly recommend a visit here if you're in the area, I know I plan on going back.

The Good Zoo is great for little ones and everyone. Just the right size to take your little ones without them getting too tired. There's a playground, hands on activities, and trains! Boo at the Zoo is just great.

Visited last week of December and were lucky enough to enjoy the Reindeer encounter when someone cancelled. Please book ahead as there are limited encounters and they fill up fast. Myself and my sister my two teenagers and her 10 year old daughter attended and were thrilled. It was the highlight of our yearly trip. Very educational and the Reindeer Dancer and Princess were just the greatest.

We are from the Pittsburgh Area and are members of both the Pittsburgh Zoo and the Oglebay Good Zoo. My daughter also attends Summer Camp at both and by far she prefers the Oglebay Good Zoo. It is a wonderful place with lots of great folks working there. Everyone is very friendly and because she has spent so many summers there it feels like a second family. The zoo is small but it is a fun and relaxed type of atmosphere. You don't have to be in a rush to see everything. There are not lots of crowds pushing and shoving. We often brings friends down for the day and visit the zoo and then go do the peddle boats and mini golf and sometimes a trail hike at the Nature Center. Its a great place not to have to worry constantly about your kids! I have been to similar small zoos across the country. There always at least one animal we have not seen before and one memory we will treasure. My suggestion is to come and spend the day ... explore the zoo and all the other activities at Oglebay. And, in the summer you can buy a wristband that includes everything which is a great bargain for the day!

Our grandchildren would have enjoyed the lazer light show. For seniors it was pretty but a little hypnotic for those of us who were short on sleep. The train layout in the basement is a must see for all. Very enjoyable. Did not get to see the animals as it was a little too cold and short on time.

This zoo is small, but quite nice and modern. It is AZA accredited, so the animals are well cared for. The zoo would be a three-star Zoo simply because of the size, but the animal experiences were completely amazing. My girlfriend and I got to meet and feed two red pandas and a sloth. It. Was. Incredible!!!!! Our guide was amazing, we got to go over time, and I don’t think I’ve ever had a better experience at a zoo.

You can see everything in about 45 minutes. At $10 each, it was a bit overpriced for the amount of time there. We knew it'd be small but didn't realize it was as small as it is. If you don't like seeing animals in cramped spaces, you may not want to go here. Some animals had enough space but the worst was the poor cow in the barn. The cow had very little and half of what the cow had was over asphalt.

At the zoo are a variety of animals and farm buildings with donkeys and hens. Inside you can see alligators and small creatures. At the theatre is a laser show and an outdoor one in the dark.

Your kids will love it. There are meerkats, monkeys, exotic frogs, etc., in the main building along with a miniature railroad set-up. Outside, they have some barnyard animals and other exotics. I state somewhat interesting because it is a small collection. You can't compare it to say, the Pittsburgh or San Diego Zoo.

Recently visited the Good Zoo at Oglebay Resort. What a fun surprise to us as we went around the grounds. "They now have dinosaurs."
If you have time, this is the perfectl place to go and stroll with the family and see the animals, get "in" with the birds and see how lucky you are at panning for gold!! You can get some awesome rocks and maybe some gold. Either way, they make for a great memory from your trip to put into a garden stepping stone when you get back home (that's what we did). The kids love it... Ok, adults do too.

A family visit to the Good Zoo will create a lifetime of memories of an exceptional day. Parents and grandparents will delight at the fun that youngsters have here--and they will have a great time also. Ride the train through the zoo, visit the animal petting area, visit with a variety of animal species, and enjoy a great audio-visual presentation at the planetarium. Lots to see and do--and educational too.

This zoo can be comfortably covered in a couple hours with small children. It is delightful and has a nice variety of animals. My grandchildren and we adults REALLY enjoyed it and went twice.

Very well maintained and surprisingly large from what you might have first expected. Lots of hills so where good shoes. Very inexpensive and we'll worth the price of admission. If you're in the area be sure to check it out.

After having something happen to me at home to get me down in the dumps, my mom surprised me by getting me a Keeper For a Day program at the Good Zoo since I love all animals and they had my favorite animal, red pandas. After a 9.5 hour drive, it was definitely worth it. Beautiful animals! I was able to feed the lemurs, red pandas(which were my favorite! Dan, our keeper, gave us a lot of extra time with them :) ), meerkats, and barn animals. We also cleaned some enclosures, prepped animal food and saw a lot of behind the scenes areas! Anything we wanted to do really! I took so many great pictures and I will treasure this experience forever. If I lived closer, I would love to work there! Beautiful zoo!

We did the zookeeper tour. It was great. We got to pick what three animals from a list. We picked the red panda, the mongoose lemur and otters. We got to feed them and learn about them. It was fun. It was a private tour and pricey but worth it. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We toured the inside animals before hand. Saw some lively animals in there. Also, had a pretty nice lunch afterwards.
Not a very big zoo. The gentleman giving the train ride was not very friendly. Food options are very limited.
