Stopped in and tried a few samples. Meet Rob, he was an awesome dude and very knowledgeable about all the products. Very cool person and made our trip very enjoyable. Definitely will stop in again on our next trip to town.

BEST moonshine there is. Make sure you go in for a taste test and see Rob. He's the greatest. Ashlyn is the best cashier and customer service girl they have. Hats off to both of them.

We did not have enough time to do any tasting but the gift items are awesome and it has all the atmosphere one would expect.

We like to take local alcohol home to our dog sitter, found this in a coupon book. they did many tastings and we found some great things to take home to our dog sitter and for ourselves.

Stopped in after a tour passed the distillery, a great little shopping area, real forge on the premises, the distillery offers a smaller more personal option to the big stops, free tastings, 2 tasting areas one for moonshine one for cream based moonshines, very nice staff, AC, Clean, knowledgeable staff, great product good prices cocktail area, and discounts for multi item purchase, discounts for first responders, nurses, doctors and military, , ice selection of items and alcohol, very enjoyable visit

We stopped to check out the moonshine and was treat to a show as well with the fabulously entertaining Rob. If you stop make sure to ask for Rob you won’t be sorry tell him Christi and Al from Louisiana sent y’all

The gentleman [Rob] giving out samples was AMAZING. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and Extremely funny. We got in after a small crowd of people had left and as we finished a large group came in to sample as well. He was very kind in asking if it was alright if we finished with the group so he could offer service to all. Of course this was above and beyond what any normal server would do. And the moonshine was also very good. We left with two of the ones we had tried and have to recommend to all that it's worth the stop even if you don't drink to watch Rob in action. He is an awesome human!

Lots of laughs and shopping with Jesse so make sure you look her up. What a hoot! Sampleswere great but small samples on good flavors were limited both days.

As a whiskey lover, I’ve never had moonshine. Learned that it is simply unaged corn whiskey. Tried my first sips at forge, and walked away with the coffee flavor. Cracked it last night over ice. Delish. Would recommend highly. Nice people. And the tasing was free. A win on all fronts. Didn’t get to try the creamy offerings.

Rob at the cocktail bar was AMAZING!! He suggested and made me the key lime margarita and I LOVED! I highly suggest giving them all a visit!

Every year we come in June to shine with Rob and manager Amanda! This place is the best ! Free shots with tip and the merchandise is good priced. I can’t get this shine where I live so of course I have to buy a bottle or two. The apple is always my favorite but the new creamers are coffee tested and liked a lot. Looking forward to next years toasting!

Rob was a great host - we enjoyed the tasting. He was so fun and treated us like family! The moonshine was outstanding - especially the Oatmeal Cookie and Orange/ Vanilla combo. Rob gave examples of how to combine moonshines or just enjoy each flavor! We will definitely be back.

My husband jokingly said smile to our cashier with the pink hair, and she went off on him about just having surgery and she has nothing to smile about, She told him he was rude for saying that, and told us to have the day we deserve as we were walking out. If she had politely told us she wasn't feeling well, he would have said, "Sorry, you're not well." I was buying products for a friend, or I would have left and never purchased a thing.

Tyler was hilarious and the moonshine tasting is so fun. The “cups” are small so you get just a little taste.

Always a good time at Old Forge with the best service and shine in the mountains. Rob is the man! We make semiannual tris just to get the best!

This was our third trip to this distillery. Normally we do the tasting but didn’t this time because of the wait. The lady behind the counter who rang me up didn’t really have to much of a personality and seemed kind of rude(which was a first for me here). Usually they are all friendly and helpful. The guy that was doing the tasing of the cream liquors was really fun and nice. It is a must stop when in Pigeon Forge and a huge plus to me is that they were playing some Upchurch in the building. Made me love this place even more!

Rob’s great personality and great suggestions on what to try gave us a great experience trying out a distillery for the first time. Historic Old Mill district was fantastic!

Phenomenal distillery. Tastings are free and they have moonshine, creams, and premiums. They also offer moonshine slushies. 🤤. Don’t miss this place if you’re in the area, the bartenders serving up the drinks are hilarious and will make sure you have a great time!!

Great place with probably the best moonshine in the area. Sampled several (for free!?) and had a hard time deciding on which ones to buy because we loved them all but knew I couldn’t leave there with a dozen jars of moonshine (even though I wanted to). And they have so much more than just moonshine. My husband also bought some of their whiskey and rock and rye. I’m typically not a fan of either but the rock and rye is awesome. Make sure to stop in their small cocktail bar for a drink. If you’re lucky, you will find Rob behind the bar. Awesome guy that made awesome cocktails. My Bloody Mary was almost too pretty to drink and tasted even better. If we didn’t have somewhere else to go, would have loved to lounge there for a bit longer. This place is definitely a must do in the area.

Enjoyed tasting 10 different flavors. The bartender (Rob) was a lot of fun and really got the group excited about the tastings. We purchased the Blackberry. Yum!

Free tastings was the reason we came in. Never tired moonshine but was happily surprised. Amazing how much the shine is flavored & how it matches the description. Great selection & friendly staff.

I hate that I can’t remember her name, but the young lady doing the taste samples was fantastic. Giving you ideas of what you could mix each shine in for the best flavors. The hard part was picking which ones we wanted. Great flavors.

Great cocktails! We visited twice while on our girls trip because we enjoyed the cocktails. The old fashioned made with the whiskey/bourbon blend was outstanding! Went back for a Bloody Mary and was not disappointed.

Enjoyed the free moonshine tasting here along with the $5 bourbon tasting as well. They have a large variety to sample and have some great gift ideas in their shop for the holidays.

My Wife and I sampled the Moonshine and Whiskeys. Never realized there are so many different flavors!! Wow that really does taste like an Oatmeal Cookie!!!!
My Wife's favorite one this day was the Blackberry flavor. We went back another day and My Wife discovered a new favorite - Wild Cherry!!

Very enjoyable tasting. All flavors were as described. It was nice to be able to choose your flavors to sample and not be stuck with flavors of the day. The cream sample bar was a nice addition. Very different from other distilleries "creams". Rob made the experience special. He was wonderful, exciting and fun with everyone.

We visited a lot of distilleries when we visited the area for a week. This one had many good products and their cream drinks were especially tasty.

We stopped at Ole Forge Distillery as it was a chilly and rainy day in the mountains. Decided to have a few sips and this ‘Shine is Delicious! Good flavors in ALL that we tasted! Thank you ROB for the entertaining and yummy tasting experience; so fun! We also had some Cream Spirits…so good we wanted to buy them all! This area is by the Ole Mill with other shops to explore and we highly recommend anyone over 21 stopping into Ole Forge for the free tastes as well as the excellent hospitality!

First visit here, but it was so much fun! Rob was hilarious, and we got to taste plenty of flavors of moonshine! The store had plenty of cute items to purchase. This is a must stop close to the Old Mill. Thanks, Rob, for a fun experience. Keep making people laugh and visitors make sure you tip Rob for the great time you have!

Angelica, served us the creamers and the cherries. The upside down cherries are off the chain. Angelica very informative and had great customer service!

This was the second visit for us, but the first visit for the rest of our family from TX. Great time tasting the wonderful flavors of moonshine available.

This is an absolute Hoot of a good time!! Rob was our host and he was so knowledgeable and fun. You can taste 10 different flavors of moonshine to find your favorite. We had a hard time just choosing one (we got Key Lime Pie). We will definitely be back. If Rob can help you--you'll fall in love!

Rob is the best guy ever to serve your moonshine. I would do what ever it takes to keep him behind your counter he has a gift to sell moonshine.

Old Forge Distillery is an awesome place. Great moonshine, free taste testing and top both have place. Rob was our bartender and was super! As a former bartender I can tell you this guys good!!! If you’re in Pigeon Forge, this is a must see.

This place is so amazing. We stop every time we are in the Smokies. This distillery does not charge for samples like some others. They ask for tips but do not demand. They allow you 10 samples per person. My husband and I always enjoy the samples and purchasing a jar or two.

This place is artful. Also the area is very active but was not difficult to find parking. The staff is very bonhomous and you even get to test the moonshine. Outside it looked like there was a band but I get there an hour before closing so they were packing up when I arrived. One of the best bartenders to make you a special cocktail is Greg. There is a devious little bar to the right when you walk in that gives you a nice place to sit and even play a card game with friends or family. They have a wide selection of cocktails to satisfy any palate.

I have been to the Old Forge Distillery many times and every time Rob is an absolute pleasure! He makes the moonshine taste testing so much more enjoyable! It wouldn’t be the same without him! And he is also an amazing bartender. He won’t leave you disappointed.

We had a great visit there yesterday with Rob. He was very entertaining and his explanation of all the moonshines were spot on. Would definitely go back and can’t wait to try all our samples we’re taking home with us!!!

The staff is so kind and helpful. They offer free tastings and a variety of flavors. This place is the best. A ton of variety and authentic. This is not a tourist trap but a cool spot and worh checking out.

There are some really good flavors of these alcoholic treats. You can taste quite a few but it might not be a good idea to try them all. The distillery store is in an area which is visitor friendly with a large free parking area nearby. There are several restaurants and attractions surrounding the shop.

We Just kicked it with Rob at the moonshine taste counter! It goes hard in the paint! He did a great job explaining the flavors! Had a great time!

This was a fun shop to visit. Lots of merch and moonshine tastings. I never knew there was such a wide range of flavors. Bought a sampler pack of 5 small bottles of different flavors and found out I can mix different cocktails with the moonshine. Fun stop for adults!

Had a great time at the Old Forge tasting! Rob was sooo fun, upbeat, and helpful. Try the Carmel Apple! Then afterwards get a drink in the cozy bar area. You won’t be disappointed!!

Went in today with my Aunt and Nieces. (I'm local and brought them there) My niece had her license but didn't realize it was expired. Completely reasonable that they couldn't let her taste. BUT the lady said "It expired in July, why wouldn't you have renewed it?" I could not believe how rude she was. Plus, it's none of her buiness. A simple "I'm sorry, it's expired" would have sufficed. She acted Completely disgusted that she even had to speak to us. Seems like they would have someone with a little bit better customer service working with the public. We came there to buy stuff but left immediately. Embarrassing to have to apologize for a local business when I brought people there to shop. Do better.

Made a quick stop at the Old Mill Distillery for a little sampling and both the gentleman with the moonshine and lady with the cream liquor were great. They were full of knowledge, very nice, and fun. I absolutely loved the Cream Liquor Chocolate Coconut, but I wish they had a small bottle for those of us that are not avid drinkers. Think I will go back just to see if I really like the cream liquor, because I had sampled it after the moonshine and may have dulled my tastebuds to the liquor taste…try, try again.

Absolutely love Rob at Old Forge Distillery!!! He made our “drunk t-shirt day” extra special. We visited last year and couldn’t wait to bring our friends this year for a stop here. Great moonshines where the flavors shine through. Can’t wait to our next visit. IG: @our_wandering_journeys

This was my first visit to the area and I tried a few moonshine distilleries. I must say that this one had some really unique ones that I did not see at other places. There prices were about the same as others. So if you are in the area I would suggest stopping in.

What an amazing place! By far, the best moonshine in the area! Everyone was so nice, selection was awesome, and the whole place is beautiful! Chet made amazing drinks in the lounge, Bryan provided an entertaining and educational moonshine tasting experience, and Chris offered many great tastings at the Cream Rum station. I would highly recommend that you take time out if your day to visit! You won’t be disappointed!!

spent some time in the store sampling different moonshines and cherries. Ended up purchasing the chocolate cherry moonshine to bring back home.

Hours are online as 10am- 10pm. Arrived right at 9 pm and 3 women sat there waving and wouldn’t open the door or say a word. The one with pink hair was rude in her mannerisms. Planned on spending at least $100.00 but obviously sales don’t matter to them. There are too many other options for alcohol in this town to patronize this place. It’s a shame that the customers mean nothing.

We had such a great time at the Old Forge Distillery with the free moonshine tastings, the spirits bar with Chet and the Creams tasting with Chris! Chet made us some fierce beverages, the muddled Bloody Mary was delicious and so were the creams! Always a fun stop on the Smokys! A must! They have the best vodka!

This is the second place I’ve been to for a moonshine tasting. There was no charge for sampling and they have venmo if you don’t carry cash for tips. I was able to go right up to the bar and after getting id’d, was given a stack of small shot glasses. Rob was giving the shots out based on the flavors any customer would request. I enjoyed everything I sampled, and they also provide different proofs and mash mixes of the unflavored shines.

There are so many distilleries to choose from in Pigeon Forge and the team at Old Forge knows it and that’s why they go the extra mile to make sure you have a great experience. Quaint store and tasting room provides an intimate experience. The staff are passionate and very knowledgeable about the products. Never once do you feel pressured to buy. Old Forges top priority is that you have a top notch experience and that’s why we left with four bottles and three hats. The other distilleries can’t touch Old Forges and that includes the big “one” with all the name recognition. They don’t come close.

Old Forge Distillery is always a good spot for tastings! It’s in a convenient location for shopping and meals also! They have very good vodka and all the creamers are tasty as well, hubs enjoys moonshine creamer in his coffee on his days off from work! Old Forge also doesn’t charge for their tastings which is great, pretty much all the others charge between $5-$7. We enjoy the small serving room, their beverages are delish & reasonably priced. It’s a good place for the men to wait while the women do some shopping, I always have to hit up Sassafras!

This place was to busy to get around in the store with not social distance in place. We were in and out in less than 30 sec's.

Distillery has many options with free tastings, great place in a lovely location. Bartender is fun, we had a great time!

This place is awesome! Fun, friendly, and a hootin’ hollerin’ good time! Some of the best flavors in the state! Our Holiday Season will absolutely be full of CHEER with our Old Forge Moonshine Advent Calendar we just bought. Rob is our favorite bartender. Rob, thanks for taking us to the County Fair and mixing up a Grand Slam that’s worthy of a Rise & Shine. Cheers!!!

I also must mention how unbelievably dog-friendly this establishment is. We always bring our pups, and they are wagging their tails over all they love they get at Old Forge. (Ashlyn is Slider’s favorite. 😉)

A fun and informative tasting session with some very unique flavors to try. Impressive! Prices are reasonable if you find something you like.

Bar tender was fun! Samples were great! Highly recommend the peach! Yum!!! Plan for staying for a bit. They have several to sample and its close to other stores to visit.

The flavors are phenomenal. The bartenders are fun - knowledgeable - and are super aware. We walked away with 6 jars (and a hat!) and the flavors are really superior over Ole Smokey.

I went in specifically for blueberry moonshine as it was in the drink I just had a nearby restaurant. They were all out! The entire section was bare for blueberry and one other one that I can't remember. However, I did buy a sweatshirt that was really light and soft. It was pretty standard price.

My husband loves the vodka from here. Every time we come to Pigeon Forge we have to stop & get a bottle or two. I can’t attest to the moonshine but the vodka is good. The atmosphere is fun with the tastings even though I’m not much of a drinker. They have a decent selection of apparel & gifts also. I always end up with a t-shirt & the hubby a hat.

Best Distillery in the smokies. Better try the oatmeal cookie, one of my favs. We stop done at least once o year to stock up as the moonshine is a hit back home.

A smaller more personal tasting room. Old Forge Blackberry is my personal favorite of all the moonshine places. Despite the COVID changes, it was a great time with some great new flavors!

A must try for the area, especially if your an alcohol lover. Bartender was absolutely great at mixing and matching

We didn’t get to do any type of tour due to the pandemic, but we did get to sample a nice variety of drinks. I highly recommend their orange moonshine. It is delicious!

We planned a Pigeon forge day and we definitely wanted to plan to visit a moonshine distillery! ( and yes we had to bring the kids) we went on early Tuesday afternoon and Rob was our moonshine bartender! He was so patient and kind! Gave us suggested and favorites to try as well as ones we wanted to try! He even gave the kids “ shots “ ( oj and pineapple -100 proof ) I can’t say enough great things about Rob! He made our first moonshine tasting amazing! Thanks Rob!

Great place to check out! Interesting to see the machinery in the back. The staff was super friendly. My husband and I sampled some of the creams, fun. And we purchased a bottle of Creme Root Beer. Delicious! Put this one on your itinerary!

This distillery was awesome. Our bartender was great, she had so many different ways to combine the rums and moonshine. Loved all the rums, hard to decide which one to buy. The bartender made our visit so much fun and entertaining with the group we were with. Hands down one of the best distilleries!!

The moonshine here far exceeded my expectations! I wasn't sure I would like it, but ended up leaving with three containers of moonshine, it was that good! We did the sampling of 10 different flavors. The young lady taking care of us was great, giving us recommendations on things we could mix the moonshine with, i.e. blueberry moonshine with lemonade. Be prepared to show your ID at any place in TN when ordering alcoholic beverages. We would return.

This was simply the best alcohol tasting ever. No charge! Tips for your server were welcome. I gave a nice tip to both servers and they treated us like royalty. We tasted many types of rum creams and moonshine. Their signature moonshine was so good that I bought a jar. Their rum cream was also outstanding. The staff was super and we'll deserving of a good tip.

they have the best whiskey around. husbands favorite place of all. kinda crowded but usually is. the bar for tastings seem kinda small

The drinks were fantastic. The backwoods reminded me of a simpler time… back when I could use backwoods to run my lawnmower. Cameron is a shining star. He let the computer sing me Happy Birthday. I found a spider outside and I named him hank. 10/10 would go back.

This place has improved year after year. On our recent visit, the sample master kept up a lively, fun banter as he served up the thimble-sized tastings. Between serving he filled in w/ stories of his other gig, entertaining around this tourist mecca. At conclusion, he shared the discount idea- and, suggested we also stop near the front door where we found the quite delicious creme moonshine. This smart retailer has friendly clerks on duty and to that, we were customers after the sampling

We visited numerous distilleries during a recent visit to PF and feel Old Forge is the best. It's not the biggest or most commercialized, but is readily accessible right in the heart of the mill district with a great selection of shine and other forms of liquor, including their own bourbon and vodka. Along with a great tasting bar, them also have cream liquor-based tasting cart and cocktail room for those wanting to spend more time. The store is also well appointed with a great selection of logo items. Try them all, but the Oatmeal Cookie moonshine is unbelievable - a must buy.

We had a great time testing the different flavors. Our bar tender - his name was Rob - was hilarious and made the experience that much better! Bought a few bottles and can’t wait to come back next year. (Chewbacca noises may be required to attend here)

We sampled 10 of the moonshine varieties. Our bartender was absolutely wonderful. He was funny, warm and really knew all of the different flavors and described them very well. It was a fun time and we felt like he was a good friend by the time our tasting was complete.

I highly recommend this place. If you keep your receipt from the Old Mill restaurant, they give you 10% off your purchase. I didn't realized how many flavored moonshine they offer. We did the mini sampler and ended up buying the oatmeal cookie and coffee flavor. Please tip them when doing the sampling, the staff are friendly and informative.

Rob is awesome, loved the tasting while we were waiting for our table. He had a great sense of humor and personality and we really enjoyed it. They samples were fun to get to try quite a bit of them when we were deciding which ones to buy. Definitely recommend.

I’ve been to a lot of moonshine distilleries and I have to say this one is my favorite. Not a huge place but I like their moonshine the best. Plenty of flavors to choose from, I got elderflower and cola flavored moonshine. And yes, you can sample the flavors 🤘🏻

Rob was the absolute BEST !!! He was the reason we kept coming back. Big shout out to Rob !!! Their moonshine is so smooth and so dang good OMG! Like I said the entertainment with Rob he's funny, good lookin' and charming and a damn good bartender to boot. LOVED this place. He nicknamed me "hell cat" bc of my leopard top I was wearing so if you go, tell him "Hell cat" sent ya! Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed !!!

We stopped in to look for a particular type of drink mix but they were unfortunately out. We were able to participate in a sampling of some nice drinks which we were able to pick. Ended up buying a couple of drinks we would not have tried if they had the mix we wanted to try so it ended up in the win column. we also bought some hand sanitizer they had made. Very nice and helpful staff. Definitely will stop back when we are in the area again.

10 mini cup tasting of about 20 moonshines to choose from - free plus about 5 of their cream based ones. The vanilla cream is outstanding! And if you like coconut, orange or blackberry certainly make sure to sample those.

We started our day with moonshine samples from Rob! We laughed and enjoyed a great time. Walked away from the back counter with several bottles. Stepped into the little lounge area. Mel explained she wasn’t open yet, but would make us some drinks if we gave her a few minutes. She made the best bloody Mary’s and old fashions! We sat there and laughed and joked with her and the other staff for a while! The margaritas were also delicious with Miller’s blend moonshine!

We stopped here on the Moonshine trail in December. They have many flavored moonshines and a bar that serves an excellent Old Fashioned cocktail. The bar service was very slow.

All of the moonshine retailers are taking it slow to return to normalcy. this place is back to offering the popular samples; but, keeping it on the down low, more or less. we stopped in on a midweek afternoon and the tasting counter was 3 deep w/ only one bartender on duty. We waited our turn and the server was pleasant and congenial. But, the experience has lost its former zip and social bump. Now, on the other hand, they've added a cream sample station. The young lady at that spot was a good choice as she was engaging and friendly. On the other hand, her cart only could handle two people at a time. So, sort of odd. We ordinarily favor these places w/ a retail purchase; but, this felt so haphazard that we went right out the front door. Old forge needs to lock the door - hold a meeting and re-organzie on how they do business.

Would give zero as my rating if I could!! They had a tumbler stickers with the wrong price and the store manager Bethany was so rude and wouldn’t honor it! Then was super rude in front of other customers at the counter and told me that there wasn’t anyone higher than her to contact about this issue and I said there has to be an owner! Then told me to take a card for Leslie when there wasn’t even a card there!!! We were going to spend a lot of money in there too!

Rob made excellent cocktails. His music choices were on point & the ambience was inviting and relaxing. All of the employees there were so friendly. We were given several suggestions for drink mixes and ways to enjoy their moonshine. Will definitely go back every time we visit.

I’m not going to say how much I spent here! All I can say is it’s a GREAT PLACE TO GET YOUR SPIRITS! They have whiskey tastings to help you decide which one you like, and I can tell you, it will be all of them! Elderflower, banana split, coffee, espresso and the list is never ending. Lol! Of course, they have other items such as T-shirts, soaps and other things. There are many different little stores and restaurants/ice creams/pottery and pottery making. Just a great little area. I hope you take the time to visit while I the area, as you won’t be sorry.

My husband and I stopped here for a couple of cocktails before hitting dinner. The cocktail space is very nice and cozy. The drinks were fantastic also. Definitely worth a stop for a good cocktail.

We wanted to compare our experience at Ole Smoky to this one and we had another great experience. Here you get 10 samples at no cost. The flavors were wonderful and the service and staff were outstanding. Then we tried the cream liquors and the Vanilla Ice Cream was out of this world. Needless to say we loaded up on flavored moonshine and cream liquors. Fun place and again well worth the stop!

Went there 01/02/2022 and Ashlyn Whaley served our cream liqueurs and did one of the best jobs ever. Her personality is by far one of the top and she really knows here stuff. As most people know I come up every month or every other month cause I collect moonshine. So I deal with a lot of these servers. She was very impressive. They were close yesterday due to weather so we went back today and was saddened to hear she was out sick. Wish her a speedy recovery. But the girl that did our shine sampling today did a very good job and it was a pleasure meeting her. My assistant misplaced your name so sorry. But you did great and we will return. Live the whole staff there.

We stopped in with the intention of just getting a poker chip for the Tennessee Whiskey Trail, and left with 2 jars of moonshine! Brian was our bartender and he was great! The coffee moonshine is just as good as they say, definitely recommend it

Absolutely love their moonshine. The oatmeal cookie is our favorite but they are all good. There is free tastings, they just request a tip. The social distancing was pretty good. Would definitely go back and definitely purchase their products. Wish they were sold in Illinois.

Stopped in here to get some of their French Toast Moonshine to use for cooking. This is the moonshine that they use on the praline pork chops over at the Old Mill Pottery House Café. We thought we might try to make something similar once back home. We were also hoping to find some of the smaller bottles to take back home as souvenirs for family. However, they do NOT sell the individual small bottles here. They only sell them in a pack of like 5 or 6. IF you want the individual bottles, you have to go to a local liquor store instead. Why? That is not very convenient.

Overall, just OKAY. We did not come to sample, just wanted to get our cooking supplies and some souvenirs, so cannot comment on that aspect. Place was packed, but cashier service was quick.

Rob, the bartender was absolutely amazing. He was so friendly and talented. He made so many specialty cocktails based on our likes. We had great conversation and we were so lucky to have him as our bartender.
We would totally recommend this place and if you are lucky enough to have Rob as your bartender it will be totally worth it!!

Tennessee, and Pigeon Forge in particular, has a large market and variety of consumer moonshines for tourists to enjoy. Do not waste your time with those. Run, do not walk, to Old Forge Distillery.

I will get to the point. There is a bar counter in the back where you are offered samples of eight different moonshine flavors. This is an approximate equivalent of two and a-half shots. Flavors run the gamut from Traditional Corn to Pumpkin Roll. I recommend them all.

There's more. You can sample their creams. Yes, they have a variety of creams. These creams are alcoholic. They include Vanilla and some other ones.

There is also a bar inside, as in a bar-bar: moonshine cocktails. There isn't really a wrong choice, except not going to the bar.

Anyway, I have yet to leave this place sober, and never without craddling a moonshine jar. Cautiously planning each step of my exit path so that I do not collide with another patron, I am able to avoid all eye contact and convince the world of my sobriety as I triumphantly make it back outside.

I'll be back in case I missed a sample last time, or the time before that. I forget.

Sampled 10 different moonshine varieties for FREE, all of them were amazing! Rob, our "Spirit Guide" 🤣 was incredibly fun and entertaining while pouring and educating us on all the different flavors. I recently visited Pigeon Forge and the Old Forge Distillery. The atmosphere is great. I also did some taste testing which prompted me to buy some bottles to take home to Massachusetts with me. These were meant as gifts initially but ended keeping a couple for myself as they were that good. My absolute favorite is the Banana Split Cream. It’s incredible and I wish I had gotten more bottles to bring home.

The gentleman who was serving the taste tests was excellent. He knew each and every liquor that was being sampled as well as making suggestions for mixing.

This is the best moonshine with the most interesting flavors out there! Rob did an awesome job at the tasting! It was so fun!

This review like my gatlinburg one is not reflective on the distillery itself but lack of parking.

My best advice is arrive early like at the latest 7 am to get parking, or stay in a hotel there and plan on hiking around all day. Public transport theres no uber, I didn't see any buses or trolleys.

As for the distillery, very small, tasting on one side shopping on the other. BRING PHOTO I.D.!!!! The poor girl at the register had such a time w me, she was so good about it though. The shine is good, very smooth. I would like to comeback and better experience pigeon forge.

They offer up 10 free samples of moonshine and 5 of rum. If you eat at old mill you can get 10% discount if you wind up buying anything. Great tasting.

Very unique place, and one of the best distillerys we visited on our trip, both in experience and their moonshine. Would definitely go back when we return to the area.

This was actually our favorite distillery in town (and I’m pretty sure we hit up all of them!) The cola and wild cherry moonshine mixed together was probably my favorite. It’s awesome that tastings are free and that they have a six pack of mix and match moonshines so you can bring home lots of flavors without buying hundreds of dollars (wait who am I kidding we still spent hundreds of dollars 🤣 but we got a lot of flavors!!)

Old Forge Distillery is a MUST!! Ask for Rob. Everyone in the place was so friendly and helpful. They have so much to choose from. 3 different tastings to choose!! My only disappointment is that I can’t rate them higher! Can’t wait to go back and visit them again. Gotta get that French Toast and visit our buddy Rob again!!

We were like the first people in and had a chance to enjoy tasting creme spirits and enjoyable conversation with the Staff. They also had a large assortment of swag to buy. We purchased Peach and Vanilla Creme and Coffee and Chocolate moonshine. Make sure and stop in, even if you don't drink, you know someone who does. The process is interesting to hear about. My new favorite Distillery in Pigeon Forge! Oh Yea, The Hootch is Top Notch and it tastes good too! Mix Vanilla Creme and Coffee or Chocolate, just saying.

Stopped in here for the first time last Tuesday. Don’t know how we had missed this place before! Moonshine tasting was fun, the flavors are delicious and Rob was super! But.....the best part........the chocolate coconut boozy ice cream! OMG...where has this been my whole life! Super delicious, even in freezing weather. This is now a must stop for when the friends and family come to visit!

Old Forge Distillery is small, but very nice. There three areas for taste testing. One is for cream liqueurs (free) another for their variety of moonshines (free) and the last one is for their premiums ($5) …whiskey, rum, tequila, vodka and flavored whisky. My favorite was the Peach Habanera Whiskey…sweet heat!! THEY HAVE A 10% off your entire purchase coupon in one of those coupon books. It’s worth it!
BTW the guy who helped us with the premiums was amazing!

Another good distillery with sampling and a gift shop by The Old Mill restaurant. The staff was great and they offer some flavors not found elsewhere. The only issue was they advertise 20% off if you buy six bottles and we did....but they weren't all regular moonshine, although the creams and other liquors are the same price. Being a little higher in price than most other distilleries not sure why they wouldn't count bottles like the signs state....beware!

Old Forge Distillery is smack in the middle of town. It's a great location and their products are good. They have free tastings, but I sort of question whether that is a good thing based on their location. It was packed and the number of people we saw who just tried a lot and left was quite a bit. The poor ladies behind the bar were working their butts off and they could have used double the employees.

The whiskey was tasty, and I realize that this suggestion may be really unpopular, but maybe during the high season, charge $5 for the tastings that then goes to a purchase. I'm sure it would cut the crowds but might actually increase the sales.

A smaller than typical moonshine distillery store. A lot of merchandise in a small space. We visited several distilleries this week and this was our least favorite. Creams were good, moonshines were just average.

The lady up front with cream based tastings was very good, and we ended up making a purchase here because of her. The place is a little smaller than some of the other distilleries we visited, however they have some unique merchandise.

Quaint distillery with great tasting options. Everyone wore masks even if it was a bit crowded. We visited 10/31/2020, so it was peak season. There are so many flavors of moonshine to try and the chocolate coconut cream tasted just like a Mounds candy bar. My son went the whisky route though. Free parking with several other shops in the area to visit. We left with moonshine, cream liqueur, baseball cap and stickers for the camper.

Fun to visit and sample take advantage of the free samples...up to 10. Very generous with the number of samples. The server pouring samples was friendly and funny to listen to. Worth a trip.

Crowded location, crowded building. Staff do not pay attention to customers. Not many good looking products and what looks good is overpriced.

My husband and I were here waiting to eat at the Old Mill and decided we should try the moonshine sample tasting. He opted out because all of the options at this location were cream based. I love the cream based and thought they were just ok. My husband prefers the non cream based moonshine. After trying a majority of the distilleries in the area this is just ok. We opted not to make a purchase here. We did however make purchases at other distilleries in the area.

Food is fantastic and great atmosphere. We had the fried green tomatoes and farmhouse burgers with sweet potato waffle fries. Service is excellent and friendly and the location is a block away from the congested crowded area. You will thank me for recommending you eat here

We aren't much into drinking whiskey, but had to stop in and take a look. It is located in the Old Mill Square, which has shops and the Old Mill Restaurant. The building is absolutely beautiful! If you've thought of a flavored whiskey, they probably have it. The prices are reasonable. We bought a variety pack that includes five different flavors (like chocolate, blackberry, and others). Make sure you take time to walk to the river and see the beautiful water wheel that is still in use today.

This place was awesome. Ample samples of there tasty moonshine. I tried many flavors and ended up buying the coffee moonshine. So glad I came in.

First timer!!! The bartender (totally forgot the name, but she was beautiful) was amazing and very knowledgeable. Those 140 proof shots were worth it. Such a fun environment. There was enough space, not overcrowding. The whiskey and creamers were amazing. Bought some for the road.

We had done a few others. Rob was a fun server, who made it fun for the whole crowd. They have unusual flavors, which we enjoyed, and we had few laughs while doing it. It was also free.

Great bartender he was great at pairing moonshines together for really good combos and you get plenty of shots to try. This is not my favorite moonshine but still a very good experience and tastings are free so no complaints.

Rob is THE MAN! We had such a fun time moonshine tasting at Ole Forge that we came again a few days later. Rob makes it so fun and personable instead of just “this is the next flavor...”. We had such a blast! Heck, I want to hire him for our upcoming party to do a moonshine tasting lol. Go to Ole Forge and do a tasting with Rob. You won’t be disappointed!!

Great place. Rob was fun and really listened to what we liked. Oatmeal cookie was the best. Mel was super sweet and great! We loved her!!!! She made such a wonderful Bloody Mary for the hubby and provided our service dog in training with water. Highly recommend trying this place. I didn’t think I’d like the pumpkin cream but it ended up being my favorite!!

Of course our favorite bartender Rob! I highly recommend going! There moonshine is fantastic and the atmosphere is amazing!

This is more than just a distillery. It has unique gifts inside and some non PC gifts (which I loved & bought).

Fabulous being able to taste the alcohol before purchasing, learned our lesson from prior experience. Came home with several bottles I have not been able to find elsewhere. Will be making a trip back.

This was a great tasting. We got to taste all of their cream liquors and 10 of the moonshines. I think they said they have 24. The guys that did the tastings were great! Some of the moonshines you could do half and half, so like chocolate and banana, for example. We walked away with the French Toast moonshine and the Pumpkin Cream. I’m wishing we would have also purchased the Oatmeal Cookie. So good!!!!

We had a great time at Old Forge Distillery! Their creams were some of the best I’ve had and we loved having Rob as our bartender. He was knowledgeable, laid back & fun!!

Love the smell when you walk in....we were looking for my hubby's favorite, Vanilla Bean. We usually stop in when in the area.

Rob, the bartender, was outstanding! Free for up to 10 tasting cups of flavored moonshine. Pay the $2 to try the house whiskey. And tip your bartender!

We had fun looking at everything, tasting the moonshine and laughing with the staff along with other customers...it was like being in a hometown shop where you knew everyone..that comfortable and fun!!

Josh and Isaac where helpful and pleasant. Store was busy but service was quick. Overall a good experience.

Rob is the best, he treated us like he has known us all of his life and kept us laughing (no it wasn't the moonshine) while introducing us to the different moonshine flavors. The store is very nice and has unique items. The moonshine flavors are great I highly recommend visiting!!!

We did a tasting at the rear bar with Rob. He was awesome! We tried lots of amazing moonshine and laughed a lot. Best tasting experience in Tennessee!

Such a great place for shopping, moonshine tasting or just hanging out in the lounge. We tasted all of the moonshine that was available that night, which was amazing and the tasting was free. What made the tasting a great experience, was Rob. Such a fun guy and he made the whole experience fun!

Rob is knowledgeable in each moonshine flavor and is an overall blast to lead you on your shine tasting journey!! We enjoyed oatmeal cookie, and tasting the concoctions they were trying out!!

We enjoyed our visit but didn't care for the moonshine. It's really strong compared to that from the other places. But the staff is friendly and we enjoyed our visit.

Five stars place was amazing !! Recommended and go to biscuit. He’s funny, nice and very on point we got like 6 bottles lol

Very convenient shopping area. Area is very nice and clean. Enjoyed sitting on there porch and watch all the tourists out shopping. Very convenient to other merchants and restaurants and within walking distance of main road and hotels....Nice and friendly staff was very helpful in making decisions about some merchandise to purchase

They have some of the best moonshine in the area! Especially if you’re wanting the original, off the still tastes! Rob and Mel were fantastic! A must stop!

Rob (“Bor”) and his assistant were AMAZING. Super cool people. Made you feel welcome. We waited for maybe 2 minutes and was able to walk right up to the sample counter and start trying! We had to tap out early, but the moonshine we did try was delicious! Will definitely be back during our trip. HIGHLY recommend.

We stopped in to check out moonshine. JT was our bartender. Very good at his job. $5 for 5 tastes very good choices. Deals 3bottles you get a small cooler. Nice stop. Parking in le cone lot with a shuttle or really it’s a short walk. Other shops around

Great new flavors! Oatmeal Pie was really nice to try and tasted just like a Little Debbie. Would recommend visiting and trying different and new flavor combinations.

Old Forge is by far the best distillery around here. My husband and I stopped in to try the moonshine cocktails and heard what sounded like a lot of fun in the next room over. We finished our old fashioned and moonshine pina colada and headed over to find Rob slinging free samples of moonshine. Now this Rob guy has got to be the best bartender in Tennessee!!! He was giving us free samples and was as entertaining as they come!! He had my husband and I slapping the bar top with laughter! We are definitely going to come back to see Rob and pick up some more moonshine every time we return to Pigeon Forge!

How are you going to offer alcohol to your customers and not provide restrooms for them?

Not only that, it turns out none of the neighboring buildings have restrooms either.

Where do they expect you to use the restroom after you’ve had your fill? In your pants?

My daughter had to use the restroom as soon as we arrived but the employees were VERY RUDE to us when we asked for one. They didn’t even give us directions on where to find one elsewhere, they just blew us off.

We immediately walked out after that, they lost our business.

Brian, Chris, Ashlyn, Sarah and Anna were excellent and were really friendly. They provided great customer service and was very knowledgeable in their craft.

Such a fun spot! We really enjoyed the tasting but the speakeasy style bar makes this place epic! Rob is a phenomenal and fun bartender! Best blackberry moonshine margarita ever! We went for one and stayed for a few! 10 out of 10! Highly recommended!

Staff was great. They made the tasting enjoyable and entertaining. I really enjoyed their limited release Backwoods Cut. I regret not buying more. I was nuts to leave with only one bottle.

Old Forge is the BOMB! Rob was the most wonderful and fun host for the taste testing!! Awesome moonshine and everyone was very knowledgeable and friendly! We will most definitely be back!!!!

Prices too high. There are other cheaper, and better options in the area for similar products. Check out Old Smokey.

If you enjoy a real bourbon or whiskey tasting, you may not like this place.

We did not care for their highly sugary shine. The setup is nice. They have a cocktail bar and live music outside. We particularly enjoyed the 90’s ladies of country genre. I wouldn’t bring children in; very crowded and lots of breakables. Those of non-drinking age would likely be bored.

Otherwise, we found it far too sweet. It was very crowded but they try to get as many tastings in as possible, having groups and couples stand behind one another. If you’re worried about covid I would avoid.

Please be observant and polite. We and others had been waiting (everyone crowds around- no organized line, although we were all trying) when a group of four in their 40’s-60’s stepped right in front of us all. When the time came to step up to the tasting counter, they ran up while the rest of us allowed the tasters to leave. Fortunately, the “bartender” asked them to double-up as they’d sprawled themselves completely across the counter.

The shine was so sweet it gave us a headache. They tasted more like cocktail mixes instead of flavored moonshine. My wife loves sweet cocktails but she couldn’t drink them either.

It’s 10 tastings out of 24 options (we and others had to stop after 5 or 6-too sweet). Rob ran through them VERY quickly and didn’t offer all of them. In particular we were interested in sampling their whiskey, rum and vodka especially to get the sugar off of our tastebuds. Rob indicated they’d be among the tastings and they were lined up with the rest but he abruptly ended. I understand he was trying to get through everything but after reading of his rave reviews and after Ole Smokey at the Island, we left disappointed. The tasting was less than 10 min. Again, VERY sweet and a little expensive. They are definitely playing to the bounderish crowd.

We had a great time at Old Forge Distillery doing a tasting during our family trip (all adults). Rob was very informative, extremely attentive and even gave us a couple of fun mixes to try out! If I could give both this place and Rob 10 stars, I would!! A definite must stop! Thanks Rob!

Best distillery we hit in Pigeon Forge. Moomshine and creme flavors are REALLY good. Servers for tasting pleasant and knowledgeable. Free tastings.

The bar samples were pretty awesome, but the Rob, the guy serving them up was even better. Such a cool guy! The whole shop was a vibe.

Brian was our Bar Tender for the tasting. Knowledgeable, friendly and super engaging. He didn’t lose sight of any customer even while waiting on us. Old Forge moonshine is smooth and recommended!

Rob was our moonshine taste master. He was amazing. He really knew his libations and gave great advice for taste-testing. He was friendly, engaging, and high energy. Plus, he was from Washington, PA, close to Pittsburgh. Great guy, great fun!
