This is one way to get to the hiking trails of Vickery Creek. If you get off at the 85-bus stop at Roswell Square, then walk down the hill into the Old Mill office park (restored old mill) you can access the footbridge across to Vickery Creek.

Covered bridge is totally restored (looks new), so nothing special there. 3 signs offer some history, but overall that part of the park is 3 stars (at best) and not worth the visit. But if you want to hike, the trails here are great. It is hiking (not walking) so you will have some mud (if it rained recently) and some mild hills. The paths do have roots but only one tree fall blocked our way and except near the “waterfalls” (they are actually dams spilling over) we didn’t see anybody on the trail and you don’t hear much city noise. For a park in the middle of a city, it offers a lot. It has 2 trails (about 3 miles each) so you can do 7.1 total (if you do all the side trails and the 2 big loops).

Great use of a historical location. Info online made navigating the park sound confusing but all the highlights (waterfall, mill, covered bridge) can literally all be seen or at least heard from the parking lot beside the Roswell Mill Club. Whether you have 15 minutes or all day, there is plenty to enjoy here

We stumbled upon this park while looking for something to do. It was an excellent way to cool off and have fun. Parts of the old mill are being renovated and the covered bridge is redone. The grounds could be clean, lots of litter, water bottles, etc. but that is typical of a summer attraction.

Nice place to go. Especially early in the day. Trails are on other side of river across the bridge. Lots of interesting signage on the history of the mill.
It does get crowded as the afternoon wears on.

The Old Mill Park is a beautiful place to see. This is perfect for tourist, newcomers to the area, and those who just want to enjoy nature. The waterfall, bridge and Vickery Creek are beautiful all year long.

Lived in the area for years, and did not know about this park. Nice place for a hike, and head down to the waterfall, which is quite large and beautiful.
It was a bit crowded the day we were there.

The mill was constructed in 1839 and burned down by the Union Army in 1864 with just the ruins remaining. The blacksmith shop and machine shop are still on the property. The paved/dirt walkway is an easy 1/4 mile walk to the waterfall and the more challenging, rocky walk to the waterfall is on the other side of the covered bridge but it was covered in sleet so we didn't go on that one. I love cold weather so this was perfect for me and the waterfall was a winter wonderland with all the icicles and ice covered trees. I could have stayed there all day just taking in the beauty but my husband was freezing.

I stopped by the Roswell Visitor's Center to ask about the Old Mill Ruins. She gave me information and told me to be sure that I walk to see the man made dam. I have to say after all of the things that I crushed in to do, this was my very favorite. Roswell knew of this hidden gem since I kept seeing families and kids of all ages walking towards the dam in their bathing suites with towels. I really enjoyed the stroll and seeing the mill ruins. Must have been something during that time. I enjoyed so much that I walked back to my car, dumped the camera and everything that I had, and walked back. I sat on a rock, took my shoes off, stuck my feet in the water and just had a nice time relaxing and people watching. The water was ice cold. There were people walking across to the other side and some swimming further down. I sat there for over an hour. That was my highlight of the entire trip! Sometimes it's not museums, restaurants or attractions. You (I) rush so much to get to everything that you get home and did you really enjoy yourself? What a super hidden treasure. Loved my visit, loved the history! So glad I went.

The scenery here is absolutely beautiful. My family and I enjoyed exploring the trails, getting wet in the creek and learning about Roswell's history. This was by far the best part of our trip and my family agrees hands down, we could have spent the whole day there exploring. Such a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Also the park and creek were very clean. Seems to be a locals favorite for families to visit, picnic, hike and take a dip in the creek to cool off on those hot summer days. A must see if you ever visit Roswell.

What a gem...right there near old town Roswell.
Well maintained, multiple use park. A couple of picnic spots, half a dozen spots for photography of the artistic kind or the historic kind of the trendy wedding kind, trails for quick easy walks, trails for involved boy scout level hikes, waters for kayaks, and old buildings for the history lover in all of us.
The one site/park can do it all. But because of that it is busy. There were always a lot of people around being involved in all the activities I just mentioned. Parking tends to fill up. And there are not a lot of amenities around. I assume there is a restroom but there are no snack shacks or drink vendors.
It certainly deserves a visit if you are in the area.

There is absolutely no accommodation for handicapped or the elderly. You have to try to walk down a dangerously slopped concrete walk to get to the creek and bridge. Then you have to walk up the horrible walk.
Come on Roswell you can do better than this.

This park has lots of trails, a covered bridge (new in 2004), ruins from mills built in the 1800s and a spillway from an old dam that is quite picturesque. It is a popular spot for professional photographers and we saw several people getting senior pictures, wedding pictures or glam photos taken while we were there. It is free and has a parking area from which you can begin your walk.

Waterfall was nice and the views throughout the trail were excellent. There is even a restroom on the lower level. We didn't go past the waterfall of the old mill nor did we cross the bridge, due to time constraints.. had to get on the road and head for home.

Arrive early if you want the slightest chance at a parking spot. This place fills up early on fine-weather weekends. Can't blame anyone...it's gorgeous! Covered bridge walk over crystal-clear stream interrupted by centuries-old polished stones. Bring your camera or you'll kick yourself with whatever energy you have after hiking the picturesque trails. I didn't bring mine and man, what a mistake! Wear comfortable, gripping shoes and bring a picnic basket. Enjoy!

Really cool little gem! I wish we could have stayed longer. We have family in GA who gave us a great tour of Roswell and included the Old Mill. Then entire area is beautiful. If you can spend an entire day it will be well worth it!

Absolutely love the Roswell mill. It’s great to bring family or friends from out of town to read the little signs about the history of the Roswell mill with the little artifacts throughout the walk. We go for weekly walks and bring our bichons our to play in the water in the spring and summer months. Can make it a nice long hike if you go across the covered bridge...

The combination of trails, dam, rushing river, and covered bridge adds up to an exhilarating and restorative experience.

My husband and I ventured into OLD MILL PARK after a two day deluge of flooding rains.
We are in our senior years and did not have difficulty on the wet trails and rocks.
We crossed the covered bridge, which is a delightful experience with the swirling high waters of Vickers Creek below!
We hiked the far side of the creek, down to the waterfall/dam and had no trouble on the trails. (Even with bi-lateral hip replacements)
The surging high waters, rumbling over the dam and thundering down the creek was worth the short hike.
We explored up the trail on the way back to our vehicle and enjoyed the forest beauty. The spring blossoms on a few bushes were a surprise as we thought they might be only native to the south.
We heard many bird songs over the roar of the creek and enjoyed the blossoming dogwood trees.
The historical significance of this park and area is apparent to the Civil War effort and should not be missed.
Markers near the entrance point out and explain the relevant historic ruins of the original cotton mill, burned by Union troops- and the rebuilding of said mill.
One gets a first hand account from an actual soldier describing the event of the Cotton Mill Destruction and his genuine emotions.
I would recommend a visit to this park for anyone interested in American/Civil War History, hiking and nature.
Families with young children would enjoy this park. There are restrooms near the entrance.

We have visited Roswell many times but this is the first time we have been to the old Mill. Well worth a visit not ideal for pushchairs or wheelchairs
Lovely walk up to the waterfall
In the summer the children can paddle in the shallow water with a sandy shore. just below the falls.
Roswell has so much history and so many places to visit.
Well worth a trip not far from Atlanta.
Many lovely restaurants in the vicinity.
Do go and have a look

The parking is good and the old covered bridge is well maintained, Hikers have lots of spots to see. Only drawback is the steep hill to the bridge. However it is well paved. This is close to several other special places to visit. Bullock Hall, Barrington Hall, the Park and gazebo are within walking distance but have their own parking as well. Good food at the old Public House.

This area is absolutely georgeous! The covered bridge is beautiful and the scenery great.
The bathrooms were very clean, which is amazing at a park.
The one piece of advice I would give is this: There is an event hall next door, the security that manages it when there are events should NOT be half way in the parking for the mill making people feel like they are doing something wrong. We were getting out of our car & the guy kept starring at us.

History buffs and trail and nature lovers will appreciate this nice park and area for a variety of reason. Trails are well maintained and its a great place to have quiet reflection and take in history.

We put in our kayaks at Old Rope Mill Park. Nice area with recently added permanent bathrooms. Looking forward to walking the trails on another trip. We kayaked downstream toward Allatoona. Water nice and slow for beginners. Paddled down to creek off to the right that has a pretty waterfall. Plan to go back soon.

The park and trails are great for hiking thru thickly wooded trails with fabulous views. The covered bridge and historic scenery made it special....... The trails have a significant, however easy to navigate incline. BUT, even though there are many markers on the trail, finding the right way to get back to where you started landed us out in the middle of a busy road with a mile hike to get back to where we left our car. Even with the hiccup, it was wonderful place to spend time.

I hiked with the Atlanta Outdoor Club in this park. We covered slightly over 5 miles in a two hour hike. The creek was flowing well over the dam and offered some great photos of the creek at various locations. The hike was a D2 hike with the Club. I am sure there is an opportunity to learn more about the Mill. In addition, I found out that there is a Historic Roswell visitors center nearby at the corner of Atlanta Street and Sloan Street, thought I didn't have time to visit it.

Great urban setting park along creek and next to Chattahochee National Park. Enjoy miles of hiking travels only minutes from downtown historic Roswell and it’s restaurants. Five minutes from other amenities along the Chattahochee River.

Beautiful old buildings, covered bridge, walkable trails, and water falling over a damn. Truly scenic and easy to navigate.

We have seen this Machine Shop prior to it being restored. Amazing that it survived being burned down twice....
Now, we found that the new parking area, and paths made it much easier to reach this building, and the covered bridge nearby. Also, a wonderful path leading from the Machine Shop to take you back to the ruins of the original mills dating back to the 1830-40's. We enjoyed just sitting on a bench and watching the flow of Vickery Creek at the Machine Shop area. The entire area is like the best "secret" in Roswell. You forget about the traffic, and hustle and bustle of a busy city. I felt like I was actually stepping back into the era this was built. Love this bit of history. Make a point to visit this on your next visit to Roswell, GA. You won't regret it, I promise.

What a unique park experience that is very accessible! There is something for everyone. For photographers there is a beautiful covered bridge and cool shots of a waterfall as well as views of the wide river stream with large rocks. A lot of families brought picnics and there is a watering hole at the base of the falls with a small beach. The trails offer options with helpful maps along the way. On top of that you can see the remains of the old mill which is being restored and learn about some of the history of the Area. On holiday weekends expect a crowd but there is plenty of parking even if the closest lot is full.

We brought our handicapped daschund and he loved it! Awesome site without a hike if your looking for a great on the way stop off the side of the road to stretch. There's a bridge and waterfall next to the mill.

Looking for a bit of history, looking to relax.. Looking to wonder and aw at history? Then you've found it here. Nice city park, nice old Mill ruins, and nice hike to the dam! Great picture opertunities, take the whole family, they love it as much as we did. Take the longer trail, along the old pipe. You'll enjoy. Nice place to go on a spring day.. Let me know what you think. I know you'll enjoy....

Started Vickery Trail from here. Lots of stairs to get up to the trail. Around the Old Mill was paved. Lovely running water.

Close to everything and feels like you're deep in the woods. Take the time to do the entire trail and stop by Luckys for a burger afterwards.

Nice place to bring visitors...interesting tour and beautiful walk down by the river. I would recommend this for any age group.

It is worth reading the plaques that they have around explaining the history of the mill and the bridge. I nice hike and not too long.

A must see and read about this historic Southern Confederacy story. Lean about all the surrounding sites that were part of the founding of Roswell.

when you mix history with scenery it is chilingly wonderful. When you read about Sherman kidnapping 300 women and children marching them to the Marietta Train station and sending them north to make uniforms for the union, it send s a chill down spine.
Very nice place. We visit often....

A great spot to relax and enjoy the sound of the falls. Some fun hiking paths and places to stop along the way. My husband and love this escape from the city.

I am in a wheelchair and could not see or get to the falls. I followed the "wheelchair accessible" signs over very rough gravel and broken asphalt (I got stuck 3 times) to stairs.

Roswell has done an excellent job developing this lovely area just off the main street. They have put in a lovely walking trail that goes back to a beautiful waterfall. There is a covered bridge as you enter the park that goes to trails on the other side of the Chattachooche River. In the summer, there are a lot of teens and those in their 20's and 30's with their rafts. I don't wade in the river but a lot do. Great place to take photos of nature and your family. The Old Mill was formerly a mill that made uniforms for the Confederate soldiers that was burned by the Union soldiers as they came to Atlanta. The women and children were sent to Louisville,Ky which we have no idea what happened to them after that. Pets allowed on a leash. Wear walking shoes as a lot is uneven. So much history here so be sure to stop at the Roswell Visitor Center up by the Gazebo in Roswell Square to learn about it.

We took a Sunday walk around the area. It was full of life, people having picnic, some did exercise, some took wedding pictures, while others was bathing in the river It was very lively and nice. The walking path is safe and well arranged, and I highly recommend doing this litle hike. That the history of the place is a bit sad, it is still relevant for us to understand how the country build its fortune.

My teens enjoy the hiking and the falls. The only issue I had was how slippery it is getting to the falls. I saw so many people slip on the rocks. The trails are great for all ages, but I wouldn't want to take young children down into the falls unless you can carry them.

It was a beautiful and scenic area. Did not do the hiking trails, just took in the surroundings. The small waterfall is lovely, did not see a mill in operation.

We attended a wedding here. It was in the old Milford club. The club and waiting area looked out over the park. Park is nice and has a lot of walking trails along the creek me up to the old cotton mill. Is plenty of parking and this is it nice place to spend a fall day. I would go back and explore it more

Great place for a hike along the water. You can experience nature and be back in Roswell Square for refreshments just minutes later.

After 15 years in the area, I discovered this place. It is a good place to go on a walk. The falls are also a good place to visit and with the right lighting conditions they make a nice back drop for a photo or two. My best advice is being some water in the summer. I had about 16 oz with me and it did not seem like enough.

We came to this old mill park by accident.
We wanted to check it out and see the waterfall so close to home
To our surprises, the waterfall was great and we had a great time...
It was a great place to go especially in the hot summer day

This is a great area for hiking and history. It is a self guided tour along the river. If you cross the bridge you can hike up the hill and see most of the square in the fall. Great for the beginner/intermediate hiker.

A good spot for a walk along Big Creek and learn a bit of old Roswell mill history. Visit the machine shop, dam, generator ruins. Some of the trail is on boardwalk. Plesant place for a walk. Plenty of parking.

There are a few nice nature spots in the Roswell area that go by different names but meet up at varying point. For example, I've hiked the Vickery Creek Trail and wound up at Old Mill Park. Cross the covered bridge to access numerous trails which are well marked but require careful footing as erosion has left many tree roots partially exposed. Be sure to make note of where you entered the trails because there are several exits. On the park side of the bridge there is access to the water and the small waterfall, which is an extremely popular spot for selfies and group photos. There is limited parking in the lot by Old Mill Park but you can walk here from other nearby lots. The paved walk down to the mill and restrooms is wide but very angled so if walking is a problem, this might not be the best choice of attractions.

Took my dog for a walk on the covered bridge. Nice creek flowing tru the park.Lots of parking places to park

They have some great trails and it is beautiful and well maintained. Mostly shaded and along the water for a perfect way to decompress.

Nice trail area along the creek. Crossing the creek view the covered bridge takes you to more primative trails. Some of the old mill structures and equipment are still viewable. However, be aware that the parking is limited because the parking lot is bound by the creek, businesses and homes.

What a beautiful historic park. There are markers located at different spots tells you the mill story of Roswell. The covered bridge and the clearly defined trails make for a beautiful hike. There is free parking lot which is a tremendous benefit. This is a hidden gem.

My husband and I stopped here going back home from Atlanta. Was in a hurry so we didn’t take the trail. But what we did get to see was gorgeous.

Easy hike to the waterfall and beautiful scenery. The waterfall was full and the water was refreshing. Bring your water shoes to truly enjoy the water and to walk into the waterfall and cave.

Is a beautiful trail and a wonderful place to go visit and spend some time enjoying nature.
Taking the time to travel from start to end the trail, is taking time to relax and get in contact with nature. The beauty of that place and the peaceful feeling is unparalleled.
After the "quietness" of the woods, finding the wonderful waterfall in the mill is like finding and oasis or a piece of paradise. I really enjoy every second and every step in this beautiful place.

What a hidden gem in the heart of Roswell (not far from Atlanta)! My husband and I had some time to kill before seeing an opera at the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center in nearby Sandy Springs. We decided to stop by Old Mill Park to do a bit of exploring. We followed the signs for trails (the park is sort of hidden by an old shopping center that looked empty), and we were so surprised by what we found. A beautiful trail with a covered bridge, trail running along a creek with beautiful nature all around (including a heron we got some good photos of). (This seems a weird thing to include in a review, but it matters so I'm saying it: they also have very decent bathrooms here.) The only downside of our visit was that we had so little time to explore! I'd love to go back and explore more of the trails. Beautiful!

The location was a perfect setting for a wedding reception. Plenty of room Downstairs . There was a bar and plenty of room for appetizers . Upstairs lot of roomful sit down tables for dinner and room for dancing

This is a great park to visit for any length of time that has multiple access points to it. It is both human and pet friendly, I don't have a dog but like the ones that are there and their considerate owners. It's just beautiful here, lots of places to enjoy the view from, hike, walk, run, as well as hang out to enjoy the view from land, above, or even in the water. I have pics to share but they are still on my Camera's SD card, will upload some in the near future. I also have some on my cell phone, but I am writing this review on my laptop.

Subject: Old Mill Park
Location: Roswell, Georgia, United States, North America
Title: Great menu, tasty food, pleasant service.
ID#: 343657887
We were a party of 6. Several ordered the lobster Mac & Cheese and said it was delicious. I ordered the short ribs of beef over garlic grits. Very tasty. A couple ordered the soup of the day and were delighted. All in all, a really good experience.

The trail system is great! You can hike along the river, climb the banks to the water or find some secluded spots throughout. A great local trail system!

Beautiful man made waterfall for old cotton mill in the middle of Historic Roswell. Lived here for many years before I knew it was there! A 10 minute walk from parking lot. One path is handicap accessible. Dog friendly, too. Covered bridge with longer trails on the other side. Usually professional photographers there doing all kinds of shoots. Very picturesque to take personal photos.

A good place to spend an evening for sure. Nice scenery, good trails for walks/hikes, river and a great place for photo shoots :)

A great outdoors place in Roswell. DO not skip it an enjoy the combination of some history and great outdoors. Take in all you can while enjoying the greenery and the falls. Recommended.

My kids and I hike here all the time. I like to explain to them how old this is and what took place. Historic Roswell is full of great history and this is no exception. My only complaint is that you can't go in and look around. I know there are obvious reasons for that, however I would think with all the tax dollars and the ample historic renovations budgets available, this could be a true attraction.

Love hiking here--and the photography opportunities are endless. Dog-friendly with multiple trails for all levels of hikers.

We moved to Roswell a few years ago, we had heard of the Old Mill and decided to check it out. The mill was interesting and the river has some amazing views. The Hiking trails are the hidden jems of Roswell!! The trails are very well maintained and go out in several different loops all of varied distances. The trails take you deep out in the woods and you pretty quickly forget your in Roswell or any city for that fact. The trails meet up with some federal trails and they are not as well maintained as the Roswell Parks section, but nice hiking none the less.

The Vickery Creek Covered Prestrian Bridge and the remains of the old mill is very interesting and a great walk. No very handicapped friendly because not all walks are paved. Some rough spots and the incline to the bridge is very steep. If you like to walk or jog it is wonderful. Beautiful scenery and the dam is grand with the water flowing over. It is a step back in time.

We visited Old Mill Park on a Saturday in June with the intention of seeing the Vickery Creek Waterfall. The parking lot is very busy and we were lucky to get a spot after waiting for a short time. We didn’t spend much time in the Old Mill area and instead went In search of the waterfall. After crossing the bridge you are inside the Vickery Creek unit of the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area. After walking up the stairs and going left you will arrive at the waterfall in a short time. The area was very busy and full of people. We enjoyed visiting the Old Mill Park and would recommend it to anyone visiting the Roswell area.

The is park is easily accessible to folks on the the north side of Atlanta. It is a popular spot for photographers to shoot people and scenery. Beautiful covered bridge, historic mill machinery, waterfall, and hiking trails.

Great place for a short hike along the river as well as great shaded walks. Stop off at one of Roswell's local eateries for a picnic lunch and enjoy the fabulous scenery. The waterfall is beautiful, and the historic sights provide insights to the great city of Roswell.

Just at the edge of historic Roswell, you'll feel like you are in north Georgia with beautiful Vickery Creek and easy hiking trails. I have come with my wife, sometimes with friends, and other times with families. It is special to visit all four seasons for different experiences (even when it snows!).

This is a great park, lots to see, fun to walk. It can be so busy in the parking lot! Just do not pay any attention to the stinky black sewer pipe that sadly somewhat ruins the views! Otherwise, recommend seeing the restored brick building, the new covered bridge and the great waterfall created by the cotton run and some of the founders of Roswell in the south years ago!

Love this hilly trail that is close to historic Roswell
By the water , old mill and the covered bridge
And close to moxies restaurant for lunch or dinner
Go early as parking spaces fill up fast

If you're traveling in and around Atlanta this is only about 30 minutes north of the city and well worth the drive. It's a well maintained park in the beautiful setting of Roswell, GA. The park has beautiful paths along and down to a refreshing river. The path is dotted with history plaques explaining the growth of the area.

I drove by this place and stopped in one day to take a look around. There is a national park located right here and it's got miles of trails. There is also a man made waterfall and a covered bridge. it's gorgeous scenery and a place to relax and put your feet in the water. There were tons of photographers taking pictures of people as the background is pretty everywhere you look. I hiked for 4 miles and then put my feet in the river. It felt amazing. I can't wait to go back.

Good parking, nice scenery, relatively easy waking along the creek near the center of Roswell. I would say that this was a good experience with some hilly areas on both sides of the creek. Some interesting historical mill structures still on the property.

Great Walking Trails, Beautiful Falls, Great History... Beautiful view from the covered bridge... Lots of restaurants, shops and history in the area. Spend an afternoon, Enjoy a Picnic Lunch with a Spectacular View.

Kinda don't want to leave a great review so this place stays magical. Off the beaten path and paths that are easy or venture off on a more rough trail if you want. Kids loved it too. On our fav places list.

Wonderful way to spend a nice day. Covered Bridge is ideal for photos and the creek is beautiful. Steep hill.

We enjoyed everything about Roswell, the town, the shops etc. But the walk around the mill and to the water fall was our favorite. Very pretty and fun picture ops. Just unique. Gives nice variety to the area.

This place takes customer service to the next level! The scenery is a true reflection of the south and the many beautiful parts of this region. The views are breathtaking.

be prepared to trail hike! I didn't see a place to go inside for water/drinks but there was a restroom by the trail entrance. the waterfall is at the very beginning at the bridge. Very steep trails with no handrails or concrete sidewalks. They're dirt trails.

Is a good place to rest or hike is a beautiful water fall ....I love it ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ is a 5 miles trail moderate you can find some little animals

Awesome place to go on a hot summer day! A lot of shade. The historic aspect is quite interesting. The Dam/Waterfall attracts a lot of people. Less crowd on the trails. Covered Bridge is cool picture spot!

Took the dogs for an early walk while visiting the Atlanta area. Great little spot with plenty of trails and sights. The old mill was great and it's a short walk to see the cascading waters at the dam. Really gorgeous.

Great walking area you can bring pets on s lease please wear sturdy shoes a lot of up and down hills fun time watch the signs

We went to explore this park over the weekend and were pleasantly surprised. What a beautiful park in the midst of the hustle and bustle. There is a lovely little river where you can sit and soak your feet in, with a mini waterfall where you can swim and have a soaking time. Plus there are hiking trails that run along the river. The park is pretty peaceful, so if you want a quiet spot to just sit and read a book by the river, there are many places in the park you can do this. The park is also very historic and makes a great place to take pictures. It even has a covered bridge. If you want to have some quiet time, we recommend this park.

We love the Mill Village and all the fun stuff to do! The recently added stairs and handicap accessible areas are so nice. I often takes the kids (3 & 5) to play down by the water or on the trails or to the waterfall, all so fun! For sure check out this park area!

This has to be one of the treasures of Atlanta that no one knows about. So worth the walk and bring some chacos for walking in the river or swimming in warm months. Easy to access and feels like you are in a national park in Gatlinburg. I was glad I brought a camping chair and sat while my kids played in the river.

I enjoyed the Visit to the Old mill it contained History and scenic views and a lovely waterfall and my Grandchildren loved it cause they were with Grandma & grandpa

The city of Roswell has completed a lot of Improvements to this Park highlighting the ruins of the Old Mill.
Once across the wooden bridge the city has upgraded the ability to gain entrance to the hiking trails. There are various distances. The longest around the perimeter is about 2.8 mi with lots of grades to traverse.
Well worth traveling to and enjoying!!

Very scenic, wheelchair accessible, restrooms!, history of the old Mil and Roswell. You can have a picnic or even grill out. Great for kids, families, couples, everyone!

what a hidden gem there in Roswell, what an amazing place to cool off at. beautiful location. great for families

Very well done did maintained. Remarkable to have this park in the midst of the hustle end bustle near by. Mill buildings, bridge, history signage and dam are very well done.

This park is mainly walking trails. There is no playground or places to sit/eat. It is a very scenic location, close to historic downtown Roswell. There is an old mill there with a covered bridge. It is the perfect location for photos. There are a number of walking trails along the river that are good for families.

Attended the park for wedding photos. You can tell the area is well maintained and visitors treat it with respect. There were paved, gravel, and dirt paths, good for sightseeing. Covered bridge was beautiful!

This area was not designed to accommodate the number of people/cars that were on site on the Memorial Day weekend. Located in a historical area of Roswell, GA, there were building from the pre-Civil War industrial period and swimming and cookout areas along the river banks. Very popular with locals and tourists alike.

We loved the covered bridge and the trails. We saw people of all ages, though we stayed on the easy trails. We are looking forward to exploring the other trails on our next visit. There are plenty of great spots for taking pictures. The only downside is the parking. It's limited and fills up fast.

The old mill park is a great place to hike around the old mill ruins. You can cross on a covered bridge and walk "in the woods" never seeming you are in nearly the heart of the city of Roswell. Beyond the covered bridge the trail is moderately difficult.

We love this park. The covered bridge is perfect and the trails are a great escape. We take our children here often to play in the river and waterfalls.

I don't live close by, so this was my first trip to this park. Very nice, lots of free parking. The City of Roswell built a nice covered bridge across Big Creek to connect it to the Vickery Creek Trails, and that is awesome for what it accomplishes and it is a very pretty covered bridge! Nice trails to hike, and probably the most common is to hike either side of Big Creek down to Vickery Creek Mill Falls (Big Creek was called Vickery Creek originally). Very pretty and worth the short walk. Nice restroom facilities available too. Just hard to beat a park along a creek or river! Will be back to do more hiking and exploring.

Great park with lots to do. We hiked biked and paddled on the river. Very nice and clean.
The bike path are even and smooth. It was easy to get our canoe in the water

Took 8 yr old grand daughter who loved the trails and especially the water fall over the old dam. Great place to picnic too within a short walk from your car to feeling like you are in another world away from the city life.

We enjoy hiking around this area, and love the fact they are making some big improvements, like the new mill and some historical markers. Hate that some people leave trash on the trails, but, such is life.

Nice park, trails in the middle of Roswell. We were able to walk several easy/moderate (depending on your kids and ages) trails and see a nice waterfall area. Parents should keep a close eye on younger kids who want to explore. It has slippery rocks and trails run close to the river. New covered bridge and restrooms are available.

A lot of trails, most are easy, some moderate. One can hike along and down into the creek as well as up onto the ridge and along it. A gazillion photo options for scenic shots. A great burger place next to the park.

My wife and I visited the park last week. Located just minutes from downtown Roswell, the mill ruins and the dam constructed in the 1830’s offer a glimpse into the past. There is an unpaved trail (shaded, lots of trees) that runs along side Vickery Creek that allows you to walk and see the dam and the old mill ruins. Along the way there is an area with individual picnic tables located in a shaded area overlooking the creek. Moving on, once you pass the old mill ruins there is an overlook that provides excellent picture taking opportunities of the dam and the 30 foot high waterfall. The unpaved trails are rough so I recommend you wear proper hiking shoes. Trails are Dog friendly (must be on a leash). Restrooms and water fountains located next to the Old Mill. Park is open daily. Limited parking and it fills up quickly. FYI...If you have mobility issues, there is a fairly steep drop to navigate from the parking lot to the mill and the covered bridge.

Between the interpretive signs that share the history of the Roswell Mills, the covered pedestrian bridge that spans the creek giving a great view of the water, and the trails, this is my favorite Roswell park. I especially love watching the water tumble over the rocks as it heads downstream.

I take my kids to the Old Mill Park every year for fall pictures. The covered bridge is lovely. Usually we walk up to the waterfall and hike around the ruins a little. There is lots of parking and a restroom so it's a nice place to spend a few hours.
BUT....last week we met a group there for a class on mushrooms. We went on the trails past the bridge where I had never gone. WOW. I had no idea how lovely it was on the other side of the covered bridge. The trails are awesome. Now they aren't prisitine...they can be a little rough. But it really feels like you are hiking. Some of the trails follow along the river and it was just beautiful. We saw some very pretty wildflowers along the way and of course the mushrooms we had come to study.
My kids can't wait to come back and explore the trails some more. And when the weather warms up I know we will be back to wade in the river.

we had a wonderfully relaxing back to nature experience in the heart of Roswell - definitely a must if you are in town - the waterfall, covered bridge and hiking trails are amazing - got some great photo's and memories to treasure.

Great walk in the park, with wonderful sightings and local color. Great photo ops and chance to spend time with family in this country walk in the middle of the city.

The history of the mill is manifest in large rusting gears left over from the days where the waterfall and river powered the manufacture of confederate uniforms.......nice convenient escape.....into nature

Beautiful historic area with a lovely covered bridge, walking trails & some new in progress walkways. Lots of fun places to explore & take in the running river. Great place for picnics & families!

A nice hidden treasure north of Atlanta in quaint Roswell, GA. The waterfall is beautiful and the trails are very well maintained. Not very strenuous...(I had a knee replacement 3 months ago and we hiked for about 2 hours with our three kids 6, 8 and 10.)

We love coming to this park and climbing the trails. Near to the historic Roswell Mill, it has a view of a waterfall, and interesting well-marked trails. Beautiful almost any time of year, but very lovely in the spring and early fall.

My friends and I spent an hour walking around the Mill area. The covered bridge is one of the largest I have seen. It is high above a wide, fast moving river. We sat on the bridge during a heavy rain that came up. We stayed dry and loved the view.

A great time. Spent about 2 hours. Short walk and then lots of water fun and great pictures. We would definitely do this again.

Hiked out here on a beautiful, Sunday afternoon with my girlfriend. We've done many trails around the state and it's a very good trail. Not as long as most but with this trail being right outside the city is a plus.

If you are interested in Civil War places and history, the Old Mill Park is a place to see. The Old Mill Park used to be a mill started by Roswell King started and then his son, Barrington continued.
Beautiful waterfalls and nice place to stroll. Must see places in Roswell.

This old mill is well preserved, there is a cover bridge to the right if you are facing the mill, which is a great photo spot. There is also a whole trail system behind the bridge. To the left of the mill is also a trail. There is a little dam at the end of the trail.

This is a lovely place to visit. There are walking/hiking trails, the old mill ruins, a covered bridge and the beautiful waterfall so close to Atlanta. Great place for photography. There are grills and restrooms available. On a sunny July day there were quite a few people cooling off in the water. I definitely plan to go back again soon.

We took the short wak to the covered bridge and down to the stream. Beautiful and quiet place to spend a few minutes.

BF n I hiked all around the trail. They were very clean and well used. Great for winter time activity. Super surprised to find this beautiful piece of nature in the middle of the city.

My husband and I were in Roswell on a day trip. We found this park on Trip Advisor. We had a lot of fun. We hiked over 6 miles on the trails. A lot of families were enjoying the water and falls area. It was interesting reading about the old mill. The only issue we had was the lack of signage. We were from out of town and had no idea where anything was. We had to ask several people before we could find the restrooms. Other than that, it was a fun day.

This was a nice place to visit to learn about Civil War history in the Roswell area. We got to walk along ruins form that era.

Is one of the Hidden gems of Roswell. It's just off the historic City Center, in a bit of a residential area, hidden by the hustle and bustle of the main Street ways. What's really unique about this place is that the mill is an old Cotton Mill from before the Civil War. What's really neat is the river that runs through it which was used to power the mill, along with some really nice Trails through the woods. The mill has now been turned into an event space so it's been remodeled and preserved. The only bad thing about this place is the parking. There is a small on-site lot that holds maybe 60 to 70 cars. Disconnect to a small neighborhood of town homes where there is some minimal street parking. Otherwise we'll have to park closer to the square and walk. It is definitely pretty and definitely worth the trip

We have gone to the Old Mill park several times just because it is beautiful and very convenient. We have also taken family photos there on a regular basis. It is beautiful and peaceful.

The Roswell Manufacturing Company established a mill on the banks of Vickery Creek. The mill went through many changes and additions over the years. The earliest dam and mill dates to 1839 with little evidence left of its existence. The larger 1853 mill foundations and much of its waterwheel equipment still exist. Nicely, its machine shop added in 1854 is still intact. The postbellum 1882 mill utilized elements of both previous mills and continued to operate well into the 20th Century. I applaud the City for re-creating a modern covered foot bridge in a period style. The best part of the visit was the popular swimming hole at the still functioning dam.

Dating back to the 1800's the remains of the mills remind us of those who walked before us (I recommend looking up the history of the mills for a better appreciation of the stories surrounding the city & the mills.) There are a variety of trails around the mills, as well as a covered bridge that takes walkers/hikers to the trails on other side of Vickery Creek. Wildflowers, waterfalls, old growth forest, & historic remains, & areas to rest & picnic make it a great place to explore & photograph.

The hiking trails are amazing and maintained. Awesome to learn about the history behind the Mill. I would highly recommend visiting this park, as it will be a great experience for all.
Relaxing place to visit
When family visits we always visit mill park if the weather is nice. The covered bridge is s big hug and the water is relaxing.
