I've been to many hockey games at the center and it is a great place for sports as well as concerts. Parking was a breeze and there was no trouble when it was time to leave, the city police had everything worked out so that you could leave rather quickly from whatever parking area you were at.

Excellent venue to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Easy to get into the venue, no lines at concessions or bathrooms and just great seats to see the show. All employees were really nice. Would go back to this venue in a heartbeat. One negative is that the area really lacks restaurants and bars for before/after show.

This is a great place for a family event for a reasonable price. Every seat overlooks the arena for a great view of the game. The food court is all around the arena and there are so many choices that the kids will not leave hungry. Prices are not too bad and you can still have change in your pocket when you leave.
All this and you don't have to travel to Philly and come home with an empty wallet and headache from the traffic on the turnpike and cost of tolls. Also ample parking around the arena.
So if you are looking for a friendly family night go to the PPL Center and avoid the traffic, tolls and expense of a big city eatery.

This is a real nice arena My Girlfriend went with some of her friend they were invited to a box she loved it, She then took me to a concert great sound. Then a friend gave her hockey tickets eat at the Dime or Hamilton and it doesn't get much better in Allentown

A great location in the heart of Allentown. Attached to a beautiful hotel, a few restaurants and hosts many different events.

By RoamRita |

Not a bad seat in the house! We were worried that our nose bleed tickets would be terrible but the layout was great. Good place for a fun, family night out at hockey.

By Raek9 |

The show was outstanding and there really isn't a bad seat. We sat in section 117 row 15. Not bad. My here was the obvious crowd. The parking garage nearby was well worth the 10.00. Plenty of beverages for your usual crazy high prices.

By FortyTude |

We are enjoying the new PPL Center as we are Phantoms season ticket holders. We are excited to be going to see out first concert in May. The Dime attached to the facility in the Renaissance is excellent. Concessions in the Center are a bit pricey

By cynthia c |

Security was a joke.

If you enter from the main door they put you though metal detectors ... if you enter via the restaurant they don't ... they did not even check our tickets .. just marked our hands when we said we had "electronic tickets"

there is nothing stoppig someone from bringing in a weapon.

By kendec6591 |

This is a nice small arena that is drawing some big name performers. Don't expect a big stage or good sound here and if you have floor seats other than the front rows you will not see the show! Beware!!

By Michael M |

My wife and I went to the Michael Buble concert tonight. She's a big fan and hasn't been to any events since COVID started. I bought the very expensive floor tickets almost two years ago at the box office the moment they went on sale, to ensure the best seats. When we arrived, we were told that our ROW HAD BEEN REMOVED along with some others. We were totally dismayed! The staff had no idea where to send us, and just pointed to random open seats. Of course, very soon others with tickets for those seats came and took them. The staff then sent us to other random seats, and we were bumped again. Disgusted, we left the concert. My wife is very sad, and I am very angry. This is completely unprofessional and bush league!!

By C_StJ2017 |

My husband and I took two of our younger grandkids to see Disney On Ice and it was a great experience. Even though we had discounted tickets the seat weren't bad at all.

By Travel197776 |

I have had my family at the PPL Center for both concerts and hockey games. We thoroughly enjoyed each and every event. A smaller venue, but certainly does not lack in character. And great eats all around the Center.

By hduck |

This is a great place to watch hockey. Seats are comfortable and great views. On second level and had great view. Concessions are pricey and so are the souvenirs.

By PMAdesigns |

From the Santana/Journey concert to Arena Cross motorcycle racing, PPL center is a fantasticlly fun place to see an event!

By trytogetawayoften |

I have been to the PPL Center for Steel Hawks Arena Football Games, Phantoms Hockey Games and a Concert. The arena is very nice and the seats are great. There is plenty of food and drink places around the arena and lines are not long.
Parking garages are in the area and they charge as you enter, so you can get out quicker after the venue you are attending is over. There are numerous places to eat near the center as well. It is a lot cheaper than going to Philadelphia and capacity is just under 9000 people, so getting in and out is not a big problem. I am looking forward to Arena Football again this season!

Got in town late but had 1/2 hour to get to the parking garage for trans siberian orchestra spent hour and half in traffic trying to get to garage then took wrong road would have taken another hour to get close said to heck with it. Having avdrink at Millers ale house seems nice. Ppl gets a less than one

Great times... Family friendly, lots for kids to keep them occupied, very affordable, and nice venue to enjoy a hockey game.

By Stephen D |

Saw Elton John's farewell tour here. The arena is a great size for a show with most any seat being good. Lots of food and beer vendors and plenty of parking in the area.

By Catherine W |

Excellent venue for Phantoms Ice Hockey and other entertainment. Seats encompass good viewing. The jumbo Tron is a fun thing to see glimpses of fans.. There is adequate parking and snack food stands to keep people happy.

By Ronpennsylvania |

All seating is good seating. Comfortable, clean and roomy without obstructions to ice rink or stage.

By GoeieWitte |

Convenient location downtown with adjacent parking ramps. Food and drink establishments around the Center.
Signage is adequate.
Easy getting around for seating.
The staff was quite restrictive during games for moving around the aisles. negotiate to go to the restroom.
Amenities appeared functional and clean.

By TennisStar602 |

I wanted to see Rise Against, Papa Roach, and Underoath, and this venue hosted these bands. This venue was quite large, and it was located within the center of the city of Allentown. The street parking was either metered or permitted, so parking in a garage for approximately ten dollars ($10.00) was the only possibility which I could find. There was some traffic as I entered and I exited this area. The surrounding area of this venue was very unnerving, but I felt fine within this venue. This venue did have a security checkpoint. Individuals could buy foods, drinks, and merchandise. I really liked the acoustics, the displays, and the views of the stage were great, especially since I sat quite high. I was unhappy that some people who were next to me were smoking marijuana during the performances.

By Michele E |

Great arena for concerts, sports and anything else that comes to Allentown. Have been there on many occasions and have had a seat in various sections. Not a bad seat in the place. Lots of good to to choose from. Bathrooms and eating booth areas tend to get very congested. Multiple parking options and there is a fairly organized system of traffic management when the event is over but you must keep in mind that there is a large volume of traffic brought into the center of a city. Patience and consideration will go a long way.

By DarrenKyle |

This is another Allentown AAA stadium done right (with 1 exception). Prices are great for a less expensive night out. Food is plenty and reasonable, beer is cold and almost reasonable. Not a bad seat in the house and the Phantoms are doing well. The 1 bad thing about this place is the one and only one, 8 person elevator that services the 10-/+ floors of the parking garage attached to the stadium. Get in line early, or walk it back to your car. Gotta wonder what they were thinking here?

By bonzman |

beautiful venue with plenty of off street parking...comfortable seating-everything from hockey to bull riding to big name stars..The only down side is location...center city Allentown is not the nicest place at night but they do try to provide a large police presence

By Kelly |

We didn’t realize how bad traffic can be to get to PPL Allentown. Thankful got to see Adam Sandler’s show as he came on the stage. Great seats

By Helenw2512 |

We have been to the PPL center for the Eagles concert and several Phantoms hockey games. The arena is a great size - you're never too far from the action. The food and drink selections are good inside and there are plenty of nice restaurants nearby. There is ample parking nearby and always plenty of police to guide you back to the parking lots.

By MikeM22rugger |

My brother and I went here for a comedy show. The staff here was incredible, I had a knee surgery and needed to switch my seat. The staff made it incredibly easy to get the seat I needed. I can’t wait to go to a hockey game here.

By Ron & Susan |

One of THE worst concerts and venue we have been to. If you like watching concerts from a concrete basketball floor it's your place, if not go elsewhere.
Now for the worst part, the actual concert by Trans Siberian Orchestra. It is nothing more than an overproduced wannabe hair band that is trying to look as if the time is still the early '80's. While one or two of their songs are really the only thing worth hearing, everything else is basically 2 1/2 more hours of screeching never ending guitar riffs.
Never again.

By dmreino |

Overly expensive for concerts. I can go elsewhere and pay less for concerts. Food is the most unhealthiest food I've ever seen.

By Dale K |

We saw Michael Bublé at the PPL Center in Allentown on 9/9/21. The place was nearly packed after 2 earlier cancellations of this concert and the staff were helpful although claimed to be ignorant of handicap access to the floor from the street entrance level so my wife, with mobility problems, had to painfully negotiate dozens of steep steps. Later we saw wheelchairs down at our level, and going out saw signs for elevators and escalators. For some reason, Michael played to his right for much of the evening, and we were seated on the left. My biggest gripe of the concert itself was the horrible sound quality. I couldn't understand most of his lyrics and with the musical backup it just came out as discordant noise. The man has a lot of charisma which seemed to be enough for many visitors, but I would have liked to have been better able to enjoy his singing. This place needs a drastic upgrade in it's sound system for musical events.

By MarceyBWilder |

The PL center offers great entertainment and sports. We love the Phantoms and SteelHawks. Not a bad seat in the house!!!

By Beth M |

This venue has a nice location. I felt safe going here and seeing a show. The arena is a good size, the large screen makes it easier for people who are seated farther back to see.

By Bob G |

A very comfortable venue for a concert. We had good seats since we had pre-sale tickets but it appeared that most of the seats had good views of the stage.

By Kerry C |

Very nice venue however the seats are packed in so tightly that there is absolutely no legroom. I am 5'8" and couldn't move. The place is a mini version of the 76ers arena.

By Dave Thomas's All Set Vacations |

we have been here for several concerts and in comparison to Madison square garden and the Wells Fargo Center we prefer this place every time. The thing about this venue that stands out is the way they still seem to attract the big names even though they don't have as many seats. It seems like artist definitely like to come here and there's no bad seats n this entire arena. Seriously. Pay much less fan everywhere else to come here. You won't be disappointed. You can see the stage very well from every seat and the acoustics here are incredible. Great place for a concert and obviously great place for sporting events as well.

By Jeffrey M |

Not a bad seat in the house for concerts !! There's an added bonus if your seats are in Section 117 - private bar and food stand.

By woodybert |

I have been there for a game and concert, very clean and a lot of fun!!!!! Great view from almost anywhere.

By susherry |

I last went to the Center to see the dancing horses. The event was well organized and clean. Guides were everywhere to help people find their seats. Bathrooms are clean and plenty full. Wonderful event center for family and friends.

By mdubee1 |

Been to two different concerts and this venue is perfect size! Great views no matter where your seats are.

Waiting to get through security was ok. We were asked to hold a door open (I mean they pay you to do that?) seemed like the staff wasn't all in same page.

Venue has a hotel next to it and several dining locations!

By ciz2676 |

Fun, good seating, easy parking ....
New and nice, one of the best seating I seen in Forever as I have been to many shows.
Eat before you go to save money but they do have lots of good snacks.

By Leslie C |

We have Phantoms season tickets and the center is nice and the games are fun. We have tried eating at the stadium twice and the food is horrible. The hamburgers are like hockey pucks and cold. If you want a cheese burger they throw on a slice of cold cheese. The nachos are soggy, the popcorn is soggy, and the philadelphia pretzel nuggets are stale. And who designed those cup holders at the seats? They are shallow and not aligned properly. Everyone around us complained too. No one uses them. So when we go to a game we will make reservations at a restaurant before or after the game.

By Karen B |

Have been there for a hockey game and an arena football game with the Philadelphia Soul. Great family fun both times.

By Eleanor H |

We had season tickets for the Phantoms and we enjoyed each and everyone. The only down side was we never received any give always because our seats were behind the goalie screen.

By Krista |

Loved this Arena. We sat in the "Club" seating area. Seats had cushions and were cozy. There was food and alcohol available for us in the Club area, but we preferred to walk around the Arena. Parking is attached to the Arena so you do not need to go outside. There is also a Hotel attached.

By Mark S |

We went to the PPL Center for a Steel Hawks indoor football game and for a Phantoms game. Both were great! The seating is great at any level and/or angle. The food was good too. The arena is very well built with plenty of bathrooms and food stations. The family had a great time with both events we attended.

By Jeffrey F |

We went to our first event at the PPP Center and, for reviewing the venue. It was a bad experience. We went to see Lynyrd Sknyrd and had some decent floor seats. Lots and lots of people from the rear were permitted to jam the aisles and block the view of those of us in our seats. When the person across from me moved in the aisle a little to block the stream of people coming forward, he was pushed and yelled at. Security showed up once early on and had no effect at clearing the aisle. To top it off security came in again late and what did they do? They escorted the guy who was next to his seat out. Lynyrd Skynyrd was great. PPL event management was terrible and helped severely diminish our experience. Doubt I would go to PPL again even if I was given free tickets.

By Bo A |

My first time there tonight was terrible. I lost my wrist band for the general admission floor area while in the pit. It was too tight to begin with and the security knew it. In between sets we had stepped outside for air, on the way back in is when I noticed i had lost the band. I figured I could just show security MY TICKET SHOWING IT WAS A FLOOR TICKET and receive another wrist band. Instead in resulted in your security being extremely rude. Meanwhile my wife still had her wrist band, but that meant nothing. They proceeded to tell me they don’t care how much I paid for the event and that it’s not their problem. Little guy syndrome ? Power trip? We were forced to watch the rest of the show standing at the top of 102 with no seating. You need a better handle on your employees and how they treat patrons. OH, not to mention the woman having a seizure in the middle of the floor prior and not a single EMS person showed up to aid her. Just a bunch of security guards standing around not knowing what to do. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED and DISSATISFIED.

By z12hockey |

New PPL Center is a great place for sporting events like the ice hockey games and for concerts. They continue to get more and more big names. This is a smaller arena so there is literally not a bad seat in the place. All the seats are padded and comfortable. Attached is a Chickie's and Petes, so you can go for drinks or a meal prior to your event and then enter through the restaurant right into the arena.

By Brett H |

I go here a lot for Phantoms games. The atmosphere is entergetic and exciting, a great place for family fun and great food. GO PHANTOMS!!!

By Eric K |

Had a good time nice venue I went to Jason Aldean concert it was fun exciting n fun for kids of all ages

By Christopher G |

I attended a Phantoms game and a Twenty One Pilots concert in the last month. The venue is downtown and parking is close and reasonable ($6-$10). Tip: You can order parking connected to PPL when buying tix and park an hour and a half before. We went to Chickie and Pete's before and found we could enter from there, while others were waiting in line outside. The place is world class! The staff is courteous, restrooms are clean and there is some good food! There is a Tim Horton's attached so you can get some Tim bits without leaving. At the Phantoms they have lots of family oriented activities (showing people on Jumbotron, Rita's coupon drop, tshirt throws and a pep team working the arena. It is a great and affordable night with the family or friends. They also have a plumbing sponsorship where you can purchase foam pucks and try to toss them into toilets seats on the ice after the game for prizes!

By kookenout |

This place offers a good time by all, even if you are not a fan of hockey. There are numerous concerts, shows, monster truck, globetrotters, etc for the whole family to enjoy!!

By Bruce B |

I have attended numerous events at the PPL center such as concerts and hockey games and have enjoyed all of them at this venue. Recently saw Journey and Santana.

By Michelle C |

Great arena! Big game excitement with family budget in mind. Check out their 3 game pack. Great to take the kids or parents.

By Debbie S |

I have been to the PPL center 3 times now and have enjoyed this venue each time. We went for the first time to see the Philadelphia Flyers play a pre-season game last year and liked the place so much that we went back several months later to see Chicago in concert there. The parking is very convenient and reasonably priced compared to other venues. They offer an array for food and beverages that should please just about everyone.

By VICTOR D |

Smaller arena with great seats all around. Can't go wrong watching the local hockey team or seeing a show. They are booking good shows !

By Bill C |

The arena is an excellent venue for hockey and concerts. Access and parking are easy, but the food is very limited in variety and prices are out of range for the market. In particular beer is about the same as Yankee Stadium which is the top of the market.

By BluesChick2 |

I saw Lee Brice here in March, 2016. The arena was the perfect size. Bigger than a club/bar but smaller than a giant arena. I'd definitely see another show here. Ok beer selection too but very pricey. $9 for a 12oz Fegley's.

By Lchd |

Great venue for a concert. No matter where you sit you will have a great time. We were in Section 209 and could see great and loved the show

By Timothy P |

PPL center is a great place to watch the Lehigh Valley phantoms play hockey. There's not a bed seat in the house. The food is really good. Lots of entertainment going on throughout the night

By PhillyFan2019 |

This location is a fairly new building in downtown Allentown, PA. We went here for a music concert. The sound system and acoustics were not the greatest for music and we were a little disappointed with the sound quality. The restroom that I used was a mess before the concert started. The place is set up for a hockey arena so it is easy to see the floor area from anywhere inside. There are about 8,500 seats but they seemed to be smaller then those at other sports arenas such as the Meadowlands. The food vendors were better than other sports arenas that I have gone to in the past. There are plenty of parking decks and parking lots very close to the place. Since the arena is operated by the city of Allentown event parking was $10 everywhere and traffic control was well organized.

By TwavelingTweedies |

My husband and I and two other couples were recently at the PPL Center for the Santana/Journey concert. We had great seats which were very comfortable. The concession stands, toilets, etc. were all well run. It was a bit loud for me, but that has nothing to do with the PPL Center ! Easy to get to if you stay at the Renassiance.

By Fred S |

I brought my son to the Phantoms game on 3/8/2020.
We had a great time. Section 204 is center ice- you won't miss any of the action.

Eat before you enter the arena and keep the kids out of the team store. Everything is top dollar. Ticket prices for the Phantoms are very reasonable- once you're inside, they get you on the concessions.

By deltaraider21 |

This is right downtown, so you will be paying to park. You can buy tickets for the attached parking lot and there are others with a short walk. There are two restaurants in the arena, both were crowded and we didn't get in. Nice place for a concert not to big not to small. Within ten minutes of the end concert ending we were inour car and on our way. If you are planning to eat downtown get there early.

By Chris H |

The venue has no bad seats, it's relatively small, so even the seats farthest from the stage are better than most in a large venue.

It's clean, and we'll organized, I'm terms of access, parking is all around the Center.

I recommend the Northwest gate, accross the street, is a parking structure, $10 and has 8 levels.
Exiting was the most efficient I've ever seen from a garage. Once leaving the level, you blend into the spiral turret, with the level above you, every other, and once in the spiral, you allow one car in front of you on as you pass each level, and your out. It took about 15 minutes to exit a full garage, from the 5th level. Excellently efficient!!

We had 17th row middle floor seats. They are cushioned folding chairs, but as folders go, high quality, and comfortable, considering. We stood for most of Rod Stewart, as did almost everyone. A lot of fun, and exiting the venue was more efficient than most. I would definitely see other shows here.

By weloveren |

Def Leppard Kicked butt!! I've never seen a better Def Leppard concert and I have been to about 10 of them. If I were rating them it would be 10 stars but I'm rating the PPL Center itself. First off I paid $500 for 3 tickets, they were in the first section row 2. When I checked their web site for a description they said the seats were 8" thick with ample space and leg room, it was a lie, our seats were folding chairs in the first 2 rows which killed my back for a 4 hour show. Also the bathrooms were too small for that type of crowd, had to stand in line for 1/2 hr.

By Jon_Smith610 |

This is the place to see events. Parking right next door. Before the game or show there are several local EXCELLENT restaurants and pubs to get fueled up. Inside vendors are clean and tasty. This place is always clean. Love going here.

By Laura S |

We really enjoy going to the PPL center. We have seen a rodeo, a horse show and have attended many hockey games. Great venue and easy to get to.

By Kurtzs |

Very clean and well maintained. Lots of food vendors and all seats are great. Lots of parking options and the staff are really helpful. Excellent choice for a hockey game! Phantoms give a lot back to fans also! I felt very safe as a lot of police presence also.

By Ilene M |

My friend bought us tickets to see the Phantoms. It was such a riveting and exciting game.
I love watching hockey and this team is fantastic.
What a fun nite.

By Rudy F |

PPL center is a great building wit lots of amenities. There are many big events there. Food and drink prices are ,however, not much cheaper than a big city venue like Wells Fargo in Philly. Parking & traffic is easier to manage though.

By Deb K |

Recently took my 87 year old mother to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Could not park at center bc people were leaving from first show so very difficult and time consuming dropping her off. I had requested handicapped seating but our seats ended up being at the bottom of a flight of stairs. At direction of ushers, took elevator down, then back up, then down again along with lots of walking to find seats. Missed 45 minutes of expensive show and were finally given seats after multiple complaints. My mother was exhausted. No response after emailing PPL Center to complain multiple times. Very disappointing.

By AndyRN66 |

Always a good night in town! Love the revitalization and the energy of this place! So glad they built it and the team joined the city!

By OCC04 |

We went to the Carrie Underwood concert on Saturday night. Carrie was good but the facility is a huge ripoff with terrible acoustics. The echo is horrendous. Even a $1 million Claire sound system couldn't fix this place. Domestic beer was $10 per can. Domestic drafts $9, hot dogs $8 and sodas $4. What a ripoff. This is Allentown not New York City.

By 284danelles |

This venue is great for anything from Disney on Ice to the hard rock of Judas Priest. The food and drinks are average in price with other venues. Restrooms are clean. It is easy to find. The only thing people sometimes find issue with is the parking. So leave yourself a few extra minutes to park in the garage or another lot for the venue.

By christinaschanbacher |

Views everywhere are good. Good drink prices. Semi clean bathrooms. Easy parking around for $10. Good staff.

By Megan R |

Drove in from NYC to catch a Phantoms hockey game. The arena is beautiful and the staff is so helpful. The atmosphere was exciting and fun. I would love to go there for a concerts soon.

By Patrick S |

I love this place for the ease of parking. The great shows and sports events. The convenience of location and just how much it has helped improved the area!

By G&B |

We enjoyed our very first American League hockey game between the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and Hershey Bears. Lively atmosphere, clean facility and do much to see and do. Terrific atmosphere and activities & contests throughout the game. Only complaint was the “smoke show” prior to puck drop. Not necessary. But that’s a minor concern. Great value and lots of fun.

By Kelly H |

Love the facility. Typical arena venue. Very clean and easy to navigate inside the facility. Attached restaurant. Would give it 5 stars if parking was so difficult. Attached Parking garage fills quickly. Traffic is ridiculously congested getting in and out of area. Arena is downtown amongst many businesses, buildings and restaurants. This is a plus because there is plenty to do but makes accessing it a little frustrating. There are several other parking garages and lots in area. Check it the Allentown Parking Authority before attending an event at this arena. Parking at a private pay lot made it easier to exit the event. Will use that option for future events.

By PennDale |

We went here one night with my husband's company and stayed at one of the boxes above the regular seats. I'm not a hockey fan but it was fun. Lots of families and a friendly vibe.

By StefanPG |

The PPL center is welcome alternative to large big city arenas. The facility is full service with knowledgeable and friendly staff. Regardless of what type of event, just about every seat is a good seat. As in most arenas, the food is expensive.

By SANTDA |

We had great seats but their was an echo I hope that this can get better because the location of this ppl center is great and easy to get to with plenty of parking garages and restaurants.

By David O |

The PPL is a wonderful facility. Everything was very clean and well kept. For all events, you have to go through security checkpoints, and the staff was welcoming. We enjoyed the Skills Competition one night and returned the next night for the All Star Game. There were lots of concessions available. It is also within walking distance to many restaurants. We stayed at the Holiday Inn which is located a few blocks away. They also host concerts and other events. There is not a bad seat in the place.

By Gerald S |

Sat in section 109 just above the floor. Sound quality was better than similar sized venues that I've attended (Hershey, Baltimore). Pre-pay for parking in the adjacent garage, made things easy. Vendors that I interacted with were helpful and friendly.

The only issue was the lack of leg room in many of the rows. I have a 30" inseam and my knees were pressed against the seat in front of me all night. With the aisle seat, I was quite friendly with those further into my row by the end of the night. I recommend using Seat Geek or something similar when choosing a seat.

By Yelwad61 |

The seating was excellent. Comfortable and it seems as if all seats have a good view of the game or stage

By Christine S |

The PP&L Center is filled with monthly activities and is the home of the Phantoms. There is great food and drink and the viewing from any seat is good. Outside on Hamilton Street there are many restaurants to choose from or eat inside the center and enjoy your evening.

By AnneNMatt |

Attended a phantoms game. The facility is top tier. Great vendors, great seating, all around great time!! We fell in love with meLVin.

By Amilcar Guzman |

Loved the new center in the heart of Allentown. Great location with a number of gray amenities. Highly recommend!

By Antonio P |

ocated in the center part of the city with its own parking garage this is a wonderful venuee for all types of events (sports, entertainment special presentations) Insinde food vendors are terrific, seating is varied and comfortable. Staff is helpful and moving around inside is well directed

By Wxtrendsguy |

Was actually surprised at the venue...not much in downtown Allentown is worth visiting, (seems to be a murder every 2 weeks or so within a few blocks of city center) however, I have been surprised that this taxpayer funded venture seems to be doing it right. Time will tell if the blight surrounding this place improves but its a good addition in my opinion.

By Surfergirl1969 |

I saw a concert here and the sound system was terrible! In fact, I almost left halfway through. Very disappointed. Perhaps a non-concert event would be better? Stage was also small.

By aangllmouse |

We went to see arena football. I really enjoyed the experience the staff was helpful in directing us to where we needed to be and the bathrooms were clean. Our only issue was the costs for beverages was insane. We spent 3.50$ for a bottle of water.

By Carole P |

Have seen concerts and sports in the new, small arena and both were great. No bad seat, really and the food and drinks are not terribly expensive like in some larger cities/ arenas.

By William S |

Was the second time I was there. Had floor seating near the center of the arena. Seats are a little to close for comfort. If you are a large boned person, you will be uncomfortable sitting for any extended time (packed in like a sardine). Previous visit sat in the seats off of the floor and they were very comfortable. Did not try any food, but everything I saw looked good, and wanted to buy one of everything.

By Joann V |

We have been to many Phantom games here. Always enjoyable, the food is okay and a little pricey. The parking isn't great though.

By TOMARCHADA |

Great location, good seats, good sound. Earth, Wind, and Fire + Chicago. Great concert.

Only slight drawback was having to look right for the whole show, due to the location of the seats in relation to the stage.

Good food, nice people, will be back.

By MrsN1990 |

No matter where you sit, you are right in the middle of the action. Never a dull moment -- tons of fun!!!!

By deerjeff |

Really enjoy this venue and how its set up. I generally have seats in a suite or club seats which gives you access to all the venue has to offer. The sound quality at a show varies on where you’re sitting although is good overall. Downtown location and parking would be the only things that I see as a negative, although all in all, perfect place to see a show or sporting event.

By Ann C |

Just attended my 4th Phantoms game at the PPL Center. The games are very entertaining both on and off the ice! The games are definitely family friendly! There is a great variety of refreshments.

By daflecky10 |

Great place to take the family for any kind of event, sporting, concert, Disney on ice, ect! ample parking, Also plenty of places to eat!

walking around in the arena is fairly roomy. Stairs are standard but well-marked, and not that many of them. Every seat has good visibility. Sound system is good; mostly clear. the food is generally of good quality and has a rather large variety. the main DE-traction is the variety of beers is half what it was a year ago.

I went to the All Stars Skills Competition in 2017. Being a Hershey Bears fan I was concerned about wearing a Bears shirt in an enemy's arena but decided to wear it anyway. Thankfully I didn't have any issues even I cheered the Bears all stars (who were getting booed by the home fans, that's understandable) and one fan was even talking kindly to me about hockey. The arena itself is a great place with wide concourses and good views, including viewing areas along the concourse. The seats were all cushioned instead of plastic. A parking garage on site means people don't have to walk far or in the cold to get their car. The two issues I had was that the concessions were limited to basic items such as burgers, beer, chips, candy, pretzels, and soda. Only a Dippin Dots was selling ice cream. Maybe the restaurant or pubs or whatever that were there would have saved the day. But the main issue is that not a single usher was present when I went to look for my seat and I had to find it myself. If fact I didn't see any ushers until the end of the contest. Get some ushers and this review would be changed to a five in a second.

My husband and I attended our first Phantoms Hockey game at this facility with 4 grand kids ages 6 -12. Years ago we attended games at the Spectrum. This facility is smaller but very nice. We entered the address into the gps and we ended up on the wrong side of town so be sure to enter west Hamilton . We arrived an hour before the game started so we could eat at Chickies and Pete,,but there was an hour long wait and there was a 45 min wait at the Crust. So we went inside the arena and ended up getting burgers and hot dogs. They were not very good. The Burger rolls were large bready and dry. The meat had good flavor but was a little dry and just slightly warm. Lesson learned get there when the other restaurants open. Now the PPL center was great.Bright, clean and exciting . Seats are the most comfortable I ever sat in for a game. We parked about a block away in a parking lot($6.00). We were there on Star wars night and that was really fun for the kids. The Venue provides non stop entertaining during the game as well. We sat second level row 2 right in the center and the view was great. We plan on returning many times.

Beautiful facility. Only one visit so far, hockey..(not my thing). Would love to attend a concert soon.

First, parking is a challenge. We have been there for numerous events, hockey, concerts . The food is poor and expensive. The mozzarella sticks I think are microwaved, the chicken parm sandwich has no flavor. $11 for Bavarian almonds? $4 for a soda, but you can get one in a souvenir cup for $6. If your hearing is good, take some ear plugs. Even at the hockey games the music is too loud. You cannot even talk to the person next to you. On a positive note, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

By katkief12552018 |

The PPL Center is a wonderful place to go see a hockey game or concert. Food prices are a little high but there is a good variety of food to choose from.

By Jim Deere |

We took the whole family to a Phantoms Game and all had a blast. Parking was a mad rush like most events but is to be expected. The game was great and entertainment for the kids was awesome. Good selection of food and drinks and even had tea for the wife.

By nunnun2017 |

Liked the center. Seating from every angle was good. Like that there is a Tim Horton's coffee store there. Can't wait to go back again and see a game

By 50StateTravelerUSA |

The parking garage is a nightmare. You will pass scores of open spaces reserved for people who aren't there ... keep going up and around, up and around, up and around. The check-out is self service EVEN THOUGH IT IS STAFFED. Good luck guessing the exact right way to operate the check out scanner, that guy in the booth is not paid to help, he's just paid to tell you you are doing it wrong. The elevators are also very confusing; there are two almost side by side but only one will take you back to the garage. Good luck finding event staff to help you. I have used this garage at least 3 times in 12 moths, it is massively confusing.

By Bean-Buggles |

The venue is nice and clean and well taken care of. We love attending events with the kids and saw Cirque du Soliel and Marvel Experience here along with some other shows. The size is perfect- small and intimate. All seats have great views. Would highly recommend coming to an event here. Parking can sometimes be a pain so be prepared to walk and allow enough time to get to the stadium. Reasonably priced at around $8 though.

By Kissezamour |

I love that the PPL center is located right in my city. I always disliked traveling all the way to Philly or New York to see concerts or sports events this center has made it super convenient for me and my family and friends. I have attended a few concerts as well as sports events. If you haven’t been here yet and visit the downtown Allentown new revamped Hamilton street and business businesses I highly recommend you do so you won’t be sorry. I can’t wait to attend another event soon great staff great area great parking and more thank you Allentown and PPL center continue to keep up the great work and events coming.

By loripshopper |

we have been to a number of hockey games and concerts at the PPL Center. Everyone is friendly, we feel safe walking to parking garages, and there has always been plenty of parking, and there are great restaurants in the area. We go back again and again, love it!!

By machinedoctorwiz |

ppl center is a well designed facility. the construction is of quality materials, yet not overloaded. the seats are decent for a venue like ppl. better than average ,not movie theater quality . aisles are wide enough to just slip by without evveryone getting up and getting free hugs.
food was way above average, prices were bearable. restrooms were spotless on all 3 visits since opening.paerking is fair to very good. security seems tight.highly suggest for family shows with kids in tow. ez to get in/out.

By dave911nj |

Not sure I can see another avent here ever again. Giving it 3 stars because the facility itself is a nice e decent venue, and those that work their are very nice and helpful. Problem it, their parking arrangements are extremely horrible. Waiting in a single line on the streets of Allentown to get into a parking deck...taking over 1 1/2 hours to park, nearly missing the beginning of our show. Then trying to leave a parking deck afterwards...bad again.

By blackbeltlawton |

I go there a lot to see the phantoms game. The games are always very fun and you can see from all seats. Every seat is a good seat. I got the suite two times. The food is a little expensive but everything else is amazing.

By lmw9767 |

We are at the PPL center for Phantoms home games and several concerts. We love how accessible it is with out having to drive to Philly. Lots of restaurants to pick from pre game and good food options inside. We park on the street with out an issue. Love it!

By Pogo5816 |

I've been here several times for hockey games and find that there is not a bad seat anywhere. I would have rated it 5 stars if there were more room in the common area. They have too many portable stands/kiosks selling beer and food and trinkets that it makes it difficult to get around. I felt like I was back in High School changing classes! Also, I wish there were someone walking the isles selling beer. Other than that, it's a great place to see just about anything!

By Elisa D |

Rod Stewart and Cyndi Lauper show. Great venue..clean, not a bad seat in the house and tons of food choices. First time there. Will def return.
And parking was close and cheap. Tough at leaving time, but that’s to be expected.

By Valerie P |

We regularly go to the PPL Center for Phantoms hockey games. The seats are comfortable and the space is new and updated. I wish there were a few more concourse food options and ice cream, but overall it’s a great place to spend the evening with friends or family. We’ve also been for a graduation and several concerts.

By Dezeray M |

There isn’t a bad seat in this house. Love it here and the prices are always great. The food and drinks are great as well and parking is cheap.

Food places over priced and the food is not that good.I will never eat at any of the those places again

By wiggy4142 |

My wife and I took my son to his first hockey game and we had a great time. All of the concessions were quick and friendly. The seating is great and the staff professional and helpful. This is definately a family friendly venue for whatever event you attend. A great addition to Allentown.

By ransom007 |

There are pay to park lots and garages in the area. The arena concourse was more than adequate for the limited attendance. It has many concession stands and a team store and there is a play area. The seats are theater style. There is a good sized score/message board over center ice with 2 auxiliary scoreboards in opposite corners of the arena. The sight lines are good and the public address system is good. COVID-19: Employees were masked. Visitors were supposed to be masked (about 75% complied). Tickets were sold in a way to promote social distancing.

By Robin S |

PPL is a wonderful event center that is easy to get to and parking is plenty due to numerous parking garages located immediatelly around. Living in the area, PPL provides a great place to go to hockey games, concerts or any of the many evens that they hold their, including the graduation ceremony of our local high school.

By nichols1 |

I have visited this venue a few times and it is really good. A bit more intimate that you would get with a similar venue in a big city. All seats are good. It is certainly more convenient to visit than a similar place in New York or Philadelphia.

By Trish B |

Really surprised at how nice the venue is at the PPL Center. Great show and looked like there's not a bad seat in the house. The Morning Call Club was really nice, too.

By Bergerfamilytree |

We went for a minor league hockey game -Lehigh Valley Phantoms. We have enjoyed traveling to Hershey, PA for the Hershey Bears but were happy this is closer to home. The first time we went last year, our seats only had a partial view of the ice. Thankfully they were able to re-seat us. This year we had seats in Section 120. The rows are so close together that I only had about 2" from my knee to the seat in front of me. My husband didn't have enough room at all and ended standing up at the back during the second period. We duos the stay for for the third period.

Beer was $8!!! Come on. I expect prices to be higher, but that's ridiculous. Hamburger and chips $9.

We'll be traveling farther and going back to Hershey next year. Much better there!

By bgsualum |

PPL Center was one of the locations my son's hockey team played in for a tournament. Other than not being able to bring your own coffee into the rink (there's Tim Horton's in the rink), it was excellent. We also saw a Phantoms game while in town. Great game day experience; affordable family fun. Easy parking at the attached garage. Free on weekends and in the evening, as long as there isn't a special event happening at PPL.

By 847ericz |

I enjoy going to events at PPL.. Initially I was concerned about traffic but Allentown Police have it under control with reasonable traffic control. Parking is a hassle but just get there early and be prepared to walk, Major hassle if you have a money clip with a 1.5 inch knife yet Ive smuggled a firearm past security. Im more inclined to attend the concerts. At sports or concerts the beer flows at outrageous prices and there is always plenty of drunken a holes. Eat before you go there cause you pay more for junk food than a nice meal at the Hamilton Restaurant

By Suebeep |

I know nothing about ice hockey, but the facility is fantastic and there is enough entertainment during the game that it doesn't matter if you know what is going on or not! You may even learn something about the sport!
There are also all sorts,of other events taking place there. A nice addition to downtown Allentown.

Have been to multiple Phantoms and Steel Hawks games as well as many concerts. This is a great venue with no bad seats. Ushers and staff are very friendly. Line for food and restrooms not too bad for this type of spot.

By Hollis P |

I didnt sit right up front but could see just fine and have gone several times and have not had a bad view

I love taking my children to the PPL center multiple times a year. They always have something fun for the whole family. Monster Trucks, Disney on Ice, Phantoms Hockey, Many different concerts, etc. Certainly worth checking out their calendar for a fun day out

By 5Mom293 |

I have been to the PPL Center a few times, most of them for hockey games, but I have seen Disney on Ice as well as the rock band Nickleback. All times I have been there have been good experiences, It does get crowded and as with any game and/or concert concessions are a bit pricy. But the seating is good from all areas and comfortable!

By vzescape |

Came for 21 pilots concert which was great. Stage was small. Picked up my tickets at will call the day before. Really inconvenient that they close at 5pm and not open weekends. Had to leave work early. Pretty easy to find parking in the area when there are no events going on. On night of concert I parked in the community parking deck on walnut and 6th - only 2 blocks away. Charge was $6. We ate at Pete and Chickys afterwards but they wouldn't vouch the parking fee. There are numerous locations to find parking within a short walking distance but you'll have to pay $6-10. It's a nice building with spacious interior walkways. Clean inside and outside on the walkways. Has multiple entrances conveniently located all around the block. Lots of variety of foods to choose from. When there is no event going on, I was surprised I didn't see police or security, but maybe they were incognito. While walking around, found only 1 set of bathrooms. The decor is nice - classy. Looking forward to coming here for another event.

My boyfriend surprised me with tickets to a preseason game here between the Devils and the Flyers. We went with a buddy of his and his wife, who are both Flyers fans. Being a Devils fan, I was a little concerned as to how it would go, but there weren't any incidents, luckily. It was a fun atmosphere and nobody took anything too seriously. You could kind of tell that a lot of the people who were there were Phantoms fans more than Flyer fan (not that it's a bad thing). It was a great little hockey venue and hopefully I can get out there again when Albany comes into town. I was a little surprised that there weren't more families and/or kids there. Other than the day of the week, the only thing I can think of is that parents had the same concerns I did.

The biggest difficulty I found was parking. The arena was easy to get to, but finding parking, street or otherwise, was a bit difficult. I think it was partially because it was on a Wednesday and a lot of places hadn't gotten out yet. Then again, there seem to be a lot of restaurants in the area, and I'm sure that contributed on top of the hockey game to the lack of parking.

I've been to hockey and basketball at PPL Center. It's a wonderful facility for sports and a welcome addition to downtown Allentown. The design just works, whether you're in the regular seats or in the private, box-level seats, all the action is visible and you simply have a great time and a perfect view. Food options are plenteous, and you can pretty much find any type you could want at an event.
My only peeve is with the sound. The arena is cavernous, and sound bounces around quite a bit, making it difficult to hear the words of some songs at musical events. We've been to many concerts there, and I wish that the sound could be tweaked for such presentations. Sitting in private boxes sometimes helps, but sitting on the floor for a major concert can give a "wash" of sound that can distort at times. But that is not always the fault of the arena, but also the levels that some bands use. More intimate performers like Barry Manilow, James Taylor or Neil Diamond are clearer and easier to hear than Chicago or even Elton John. Nonetheless, this is a wonderful venue for Allentown, filled with possibilities for big-name entertainment that we rarely saw in this area before.

By Andy5573 |

We enjoyed our experience at this facility; we were never there before. We attended two events during the American Hockey League's All-Star weekend. If you drive, arrive early and try to park in the garage attached to the PPL Center.

By Jody L |

What a great venue, not a bad seat in the house, parking is very reasonable. The people are great, crowd control is efficient, only thing I found annoying is they wand everybody , so it is a bit intrusive.

By Robyn F |

What a great arena for a hockey game, no bad seats, spacious and inviting. Lots of places to choose to eat, whether a meal or snacks. Parking is easy and leaving the lots is extremely quick, they have it down to a science!

By lorraine d |

You will have a really good time at the PPL Center. The employees are really friendly. There isn't a bad seat in the house, but for hockey you might want to check out the upper tiers as you will get a better view of the game. The prices are decent for a sporting event. The prices of the tickets are very affordable as well. The only bad part is the parking. You can buy prepaid parking ticket online when you purchase your ticket. If you happen to forget to purchase the voucher at that time or if the trip to the game is a last minute thing, make sure you leave enough time to find parking as the lots around the PPL Center do sell out.

By JNS |

It is a great an inexpensive place to take your kids for a Hockey Game.. There is plenty of parking.

By dirickwestchester |

Iffy area and the venue wasn't great either. Driving there felt somewhat unsafe due to not knowing the area. The parking lot we paid for a VIP parking, it was dumpy but close by so glad we didn't have to walk far to the venue. Definitely would have been feeling insecure. The venue itself was freezing code inside. We didn't buy anything to eat or drink. There were no clerks to assist seating anyone. We kept getting a non-stop flow of people walking all the down to our area only to realize they were in the wrong place and had to walk back up the stairs. It was very annoying. We drove an hour and half and would not go here again.

My nice graduated from Parkland High School in Allentown tonight. That meant her graduation ceremony was held at the PPL Center. We had never been there nor even heard of it before. It is a very nice sports arena in downtown Allentown, PA. It holds over 8400 for minor league hockey and was a very nice place to hold a high school graduation, especially for a large school like Parkland. As out-of-towners, we were impressed that the July 5th Concert being advertised was Boyz to Men. New Kids on the Block, & Paula Abdule.

Went to a Ice Hockey game. Phantoms vs Hershey Bears. My first time there and my first semi pro hockey game. Awesome game and Phantoms win. Then Sunday went there for PSU wrestling vs Lehigh. Nice set up for a wrestling meet! PSU wins!!! Will be going back to PPL!!

By Mark G |

I visited here for to watch a Ice Hockey game with friends whilst on holiday in Pennsylvania. The venue has good parking facilities and is spotlessly clean. The services are excellent with many vendors for all types of food and drink with reasonable prices. The toilets are very clean and the game and entertainment in between plays was excellent. I would highly recommend visiting here if you are in the area.

By Karen R |

We were there for the ahl hockey all star weekend. Arena is new and has a fresh feel. Very good lighting! Strange thing is storefronts have direct access to the arena. Arena does not sit inside a big parking lot. It is center city. You can go directly into stores to enter the arena! We had to go through security to get into Tim Hortons! We were meeting our tickets inside. Then directly through to the arena! Very strange.

By Music D |

Have seen multiple sporting events, concerts, and shows here and every time, have been very close to the action with seats you would never get in Philadelphia or New York...if you did, you'd pay 10 x as much. Parking is easy and affordable at $6.

central location with lots of nearby parking. big enough to have a variety of events (concerts, Phantoms games, indoor auto racing, Globetrotters) yet small enough that there isn't a bad seat in the house. variety of food options, but they're all a bit pricey since you're in the arena.

The Elton John concert was one of the best concerts I have ever attended, The venue was great. The seats were comfortable and I could see the stage very well and I was not that close to the stage. It looked to me that there really was not a bad seat in the house. I would go there again.

I recently went to see James Taylor and Bonnie Raitt in concert. Sound quality was excellent. The performance felt as intimate as if it were in a much smaller venue.

The PPL Center is arguably the center of a rebirth of downtown Allentown. It is a first class facility hosting AHL hockey games (Lehigh Valley Phantoms), arena football (Lehigh Valley Steelhawks), concerts, family-friendly events (Harlem Globetrotters, Disney on Ice), and community events (local high school graduations). Being a newer arena, there is no bad seat in the house for hockey games. Sight lines will vary for events where a stage is placed on one end of the arena. One word of warning: the steps to access the 200-level seats can be steep.

Parking around the arena is plentiful with both surface lots and multi-story parking decks charging $6 for sporting events and $10 for concerts. There is a parking deck on Linden Street, between 7th Street and 8th Street that is attached to the PPL Center. Using this deck allows easy exit from the PPL Center (exit through to the brown double doors in the short hallway next to the First Aid room behind Section 108), but keep in mind that hundreds of people may also be accessing the elevator or stairs at the same time if you exit at a peak time.

Food options are plentiful, both inside the PPL Center and in the blocks surrounding the venue. The food quality inside the PPL Center is decent, though the prices are on the high side. The best food value seems to be Tim Horton's, located at the corner of 7th Street and Hamilton and accessible from within the PPL Center. Friends have raved about Vince's Cheesteaks, which has a stand inside the PPL Center (behind Section 111) and a free-standing restaurant at 806 Hamilton Street.

My wife and I have attended a few Phantoms game each season and we have enjoyed bringing friends and family to these games at the PPL Center as well.

9,000-10,000 seat venue, attracting a lot of BIG name artists for concerts and family friendly events - Hockey, Disney, etc.. Acoustics are Ok, refreshments are expensive like any other concert/sport venue. I saw two of my all-time favorite recording artists on two occasions so I'm a bit biased. I cannot compare it to other venues because I haven't been to others in years. There is a good selection of restaurants in the immediate vicinity and most are open prior to, during, and, some after the events.

Went to a concert here May 10th. Very helpful staff. Good food vendors, easy to find our seats. Only thing was parking garage, so many cars that we decided to leave a little early and not stay to hear the last few songs, it just looked like it would be a long wait to get out...

Went to the Indoor Midget race in 2015 and both races in 2016. Track is a bit small resulting in way to much bumping and banging but THERE AIN'T A BAD SEAT IN THE PLACE. 2015 we sat up top in the "nose bleed seats" along the front stretch. 2016 we sat in the 6th row of the back stretch on Friday and Saturday we sat in row 9 closer to turn 3. Very pleased with where we sat all 3 times. The racing was as good as could be expected for a small track but exciting none the less. Attending was my dad, 15 yr. old son and myself.

Went to this place last Saturday night for a hockey game. Our seats were great, the game was exciting, but unfortunately had a mishap with the car in the pay parking lot two blocks down and had to exit early. The cranky rent a guard there was pretty curt in informing us that if we left, there was no returning. My cell phone also died that day and I had to find a phone to call a roadside service company. I stepped back inside the door and a different, cranky rent a guard pointed at the little metal detector and barked at me that I had to go through it. I told him twice that I wasn't coming in (even though I had my ticket) and he said the same thing again...I guess that's the amount of script that he knows. I tried to explain what I needed and he looked at me like I was a special kind of stupid and told me "There aren't any public phones in here." Not willing or able to think of anything more proactive, he was finished. Seeing that there was no help forthcoming with this crank, I left and went next door to the luxury hotel, where they were happy to help me with their phone and computer. The experience with this person made me sorry that I bought tickets and spent several hours driving to this venue. I wish that the managers who hire people like this man realize how they talk to and deal with paying customers who are having a true emergency. No one would want what I went through that night to happen to them.

We have gone to the PPL Center during Indoor Football and Hockey and we always have a blast. Lots of entertainment, the place is clean, and the staff are friendly. You have to pay for parking and the food /beer are a bit expensive, but you can't beat being close to home to see the games.

I went to see a hockey game here with my family and we loved it so much! My Canadian friend came with us and said it was the most exciting hockey game she's ever been to, because she loved the mascot and the spirit team in their little orange track suits. Very fun place to go!

This is a great venue for sports. We typically attend hockey games but were treated to some Arena Football Tickets. It's fun to watch; plenty of scoring whcih causes many footballs to enter the stands and make a lot of kids happy whne they leave with a game ball.

When you visit a sports complex and security needs to be present near the players benches, you know you’ve stumbled into what is likely a Philly fanbase or surrounding area. It was dollar dog night at the final game of the season and we enjoyed a few of those. They were definitely worth a dollar and I couldn’t believe that regular price they were around $4…it’s a standard hot dog on a standard bun. Every night should be dollar dog night. The pretzel we got was just as bad as the ones at Wells Fargo center. It’s amazing to me the places that sell pretzels but not cheese cups. It could go a long way towards helping a subpar pretzel. The fans were yelling vulgarities and insults to the other teams and refs the entire game. There was a husky kid with a “hockey for dummies book” pasted on the boards as if any of the players or refs are going to care. The even huskier dad who was encouraging this behavior was wearing a referee outfit and also holding the book. The one goal that everybody in the arena thought was a goal was taken back because the puck never crossed the goal line and the entire fanbase was up in arms. It seems as though they should be the ones reading that book, granted they are actually able to. The point here though is that it ruins the experience for people who actually know hockey, and the way the phantoms played into it and kept showing these people on the big screen was truly pathetic. I was happy to see the Phantoms go to the playoffs just to be crushed by the checkers. Their “Phans” don’t deserve any more than that. Parking at the venue was a nightmare as well. If you are at a high floor, keep in mind there is only ONE small elevator which made for a long wait after the game. Another thing was that during the game there was a QR code up on the Jumbotron that just said “scan me” and we figured maybe it was a survey or fan appreciation thing since it was their last home game of the season…it was actually clickbait and took us to a site to buy a used car!!!!! Like what is that?!?! The most distasteful and classless thing to do to fans when they’re watching your sports teams. Literally the saving grace for this review was that they had their mascot taking pics with people after the game.

If you’re going to have security on the stairs, the least you can do is make sure they’re controlling unruly fans so that everybody can enjoy the game without people swearing and cursing about what was ultimately the right call.

We sat in gridlocked traffic for over 2 hours to get 1 block to the venue. There was no one directing traffic, no signs on where to park. After an hour and a half a police officer showed up but he was only focused on his phone. Finally get to parking garage and the attendant says it’s full. We pull into a parking garage attached to venue (again, no signs) a guy comes out and tells us it’s for suites only. After already missing an hour of the show my husband dropped me off to look for parking, he ended up missing the whole show. I get to the security check and they tell me my purse is too big (I did check but most venues post that info with the show details, and I didn’t see it on their website until this morning after digging around) and I have to put it in the car, which was now gone, with my husband. When I finally get inside the ticket scanner isn’t working, after a few attempts they tell me just go in. What a terrible experience. Get it together.

Wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this place after reading some of the reviews especially since we were driving just over an hour, each way. Well, it turned out to be a great experience and we will definitely be back. We went for a concert and there doesn't seem to be a bad seat in the house. We were actually in the very last row of section 205 and could see just fine. We did purchase parking in advance at the Linden Street garage for $10 and the garage is attached to the venue, so we didn't have to walk around the streets. Bathroom lines were the same as they are everywhere which is long, but they move quick and the same goes for the drink lines. The sound system itself could've been better (maybe because it was built primarily be a hockey arena) but it wasn't horrible. I feel the security was better here then at most concert venues, which is always good.

This is a wonderful place to see a hockey match or a concert. I suggest looking up the concourse map prior to going to familiarize yourself with the layout. Ample parking close by and reasonably priced. You can prepay for parking attached to the venue which is very convenient in inclement weather never needing to go outside. Plenty of food vendors and restaurants in the house and close by, with a variety of foods and vegan menus also.

By Aniana M |

This was a perfect place to listen to these two bands. The lights atmosphere and music were fabulous

By Dale K |

Our second attempt at attending concerts here. After the first one we learned to buy advanced parking in the orange lot, get good seats on the floor (we have mobility issues), come early, and expect to pay dearly for food and drink. Sound quality continues to be poor and muffled. Volume excessive (bring earplugs). Seats, whether folding (floor) or in bleachers are crowded and uncomfortable. There was a haze in the air that concerned me (from smoke machines?). This may be a great sports venue but if you want to hear your favorite band, musician or vocalist with any kind of true fidelity, get the CD or watch and listen online. And avoid the crazy traffic after the show.

By gamoyer |

I have been there for a circus, an ice show, and the Harlem Globetrotters.. all within the last couple of years. Parking is really decent.....proximate street parking.... 2 parking decks within 1.5 blocks. There isn't a bad seat in the center. Bathroom facilities are fine. Snacks, soft drinks, & beer/wine/mixed drinks are available. Food prices are never cheap for venues like this, but they aren't super outrageous either. The flow of patrons to the center and leaving the center is decent... no big jams or waits. I would take the grand kids (or anyone else) there anytime. If there is any crime in the area, I have never seen it.

By kathy f |

going to the PHantoms hockey game if a fun experience. I love to watch all the kids having a great time.

By Tikket |

This hockey arena turned concert venue offers good seats from all over the place - but it is dependent upon where the stage is placed, and where the tickets are sold by seat. My favorite place is on the curves, and my husband and I actually prefer the upper level. We have never had a bad view from there. the food is arena food, but also some local favorites, but it is a little pricy. I would suggest using somewhere to eat in the area of the arena, there are some great choices.

By traveler69958 |

Awesome AHL arena in downtown Allentown. Home of the Flyers affiliate Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Easy access 15 minutes from Northeast Extension with ample parking, even for sellout crowds. Very intimate yet modern arena. All seats very close with great sight lines to the action.

By Aaron R |

very cheap and amazing i went to wwe live last year and i got my tickets to it this year it was so cool watching Seth Rollins fight Dean Ambroso

By Cara B |

We saw Disney on Ice and a hockey game here. The venue is very nice and the seating is good. Parking is easy and close by. The food was good and you can eat at Chickies and Petes and go back to the event.

By Bart S |

Season ticket holder for hockey. Great arena, excellent food choices. They did an amazing job and the surrounding restaurants are excellent as well.

By quinteed |

Haven't been to a concert in a while....Great location as it only took me 15 mins to get there. Parking Garage was convenient and not as expensive as some city garages. Glad I went.

By Jenn P |

I've been here a handful of times and always have a great experience. Hockey games, concerts, monster jam, events, etc. Parking can be a problem for those who don't know the area, but any deck will do. Staff was polite and helpful, bathrooms are clean, food overpriced- but, oh well. I like it here.

By T5852AG-Dennis |

Having a great time watching monster jam at the ppl center with my grandson.
Great place for concerts, hockey and more.
It’s a must visit if in the Lehigh Valley.

By Ginger L |

Parking is easy, although expect traffic getting to the game, especially in downtown Allentown. Most seats are very good and provide a great view of the action on the ice. Not enough bathrooms, esp for men. Food is okay, although selection is limited & pricey. Announcer is weak; need more enthusiasm & quicker reaction to plays to get the crowd going.

By kuttfam |

Went for Monster trucks. We really liked the PPL center. It was clean and comfortable. But the one thing we hated was the amount of time it took to get out of the parking garage. It took well over an hour. I would suggest not parking there if you can help it.

By Mary P |

This place is awesome! I love hockey! Went to Phantom game and was impressed by the entertainment in between periods!!! Great Job!!!!

By Jason L |

Went for the show. First time visiting the PPL Center. Long lines getting into venue. Only one long line and then 3 people scanning tickets. Not very organized. The PPL Center has comfortable seats and the views are great from most locations. The venue is small and cramped and no organization for lines. You would stand in line for everything. The bathrooms are small. I've never waited for a men's room as long as I've waited here. The staff was not very helpful either during our visit. There is plenty of parking but the city does not operate or manage traffic very well and you will wait forever to get anywhere. Would consider every other option and venue before choosing the PPL Center again unless I really had to go there. The facilities are nice and seemed like a pretty clean venue too.

By RicRei |

Went to see Santana and Journey. The bands were great but could've been much better as the sound was much too loud. Acoustics could've been much better. Sat in the last row upper level and while they weren't too far away, the space between rows was so thin that you were cramped the whole 4 hour concert. Walking to your seats past people already seated was a nightmare as several times, we almost fell over to the row in front of us. Looking at the people seated on the floor, they appeared to be on top of each other with very little leg room. I may return for the right Band, but will try different seats and hopefully the sound issues were the bands and not the center.

By ibnanc3 |

The PPL center is great for seeing concerts, shows, and of course the Phantoms Ice hockey team play.

By lexus95 |

I've been to several sports activities at the PPL Center and highly recommend that you catch a game here. The Center is used for concerts also. Parking is available throughout the city and within a block. The seats are situated so that no seat is a bad seat. Food and beverages are located in the concourse.

By sunshine18102 |

I never went to a game or concert here but I checked out the inside and it is very nice. they had to tear a lot of my favorite stores down to build this. I was not too happy about it but life goes on.

By Mike J |

Had a fun time at our first ever hockey game. Game was fast paced and entertaining. Venue itself is nice (PPL Center) PROS: Perfect size, even our seats in the back still had a very good view. Parking was pretty easy.Seats were more comfy than expected. Staff overall was helpful and friendly. CONS: Concessions WAY overpriced. Same for souvenirs. Shame they have to price gouge that way.

By Hannah K |

I visited the PPL for the first time in January of 2017 for a Phantoms game. The arena itself is very easy to find and the parking is even easier. There are several parking garages and lots that are easily accessible. You can also pre-pay for parking when ordering tickets through the PPL Center's website, which makes things easy. It does take a while for the parking garages to clear after the event, so don't expect to be back on the road immediately. (Also take the time to back into your spot, it makes leaving a lot easier!)

There a few entrances to the arena, and you do have to go through a metal dector so there was about a 10 minute line to enter. The arena is clean and bright inside. The seats are cushioned. I did take notice that the menu boards on food stands are not very large, so you do have to get fairly close to read them. Prices are similar to all other arenas/concert venues I've been too. I also noticed several sections didn't have ushers working, so I did have to find my seat myself. (Not that it was difficult, but the gentleman behind me was yelling at every person who came down our row while the puck was in play since there was no usher to hold them.)

The staff I did interact with was nice and helpful. The bathrooms were clean. There are some strobe lights during the opening video and it does get VERY loud, so keep that in mind. Great experience, will be back.

By Dallas C |

Went to the party event last evening. Great visibility even when you don't have the best seats. Sound was good. Would like to come back for a music concert.

By tank1050 |

This great venue proves that even Allentown can do something right. The home of the Phantoms is a wonderful facility. We have been there several times for hockey games but today was the first time for a concert. We loved it. We saw TSO and the raucous light and sound spectacular they pit on. It was comfortable, easy to enjoy the show. I was fooled by the extra traffic, since the place holds a lot more people for a concert than a hockey game. That was the only drawback. - the traffic to get in and the jam up to clear the parking facilities. Otherwise it was a great time and I will be back more, I will just arrive earlier.

By Mandy R |

I love going to the PPL Center for the hockey games as well as Disney on Ice I have yet to go for a concert but I would like to in the near future. Everyone there is very friendly willing to help food prices aren't too bad they're a little bit cheaper than IronPigs. Do be advised that as a $6 parking fee at for any event that is held through the PP&L Center I go there every time a Big Brothers Big Sisters do to them do anything as tickets and I just love it!

By Krystine H |

I’ve been coming to PPL center since it opened. The arena is very nice. It’s always clean and has a huge variety of food. It is small enough that every seat is a good seat. Parking is easy as there are several parking garages right outside. I’ve come for a variety of events (hockey games, Disney on ice, Marvals, and concerts). The special events are more costly than the hockey games.

By wkrupa |

This is a gem sadly in the heart of a crime ridden area. It's a great venue, with incredible seating good food and beverages, a bit pricy but that's arena moments. You go through a hand wand from security on the way in which is telling for the area of the city. You drive up to blocks of police coverage, yet another bit of evidence. Before and after you visit it's best to never walk beyond the police coverage, and it's best to never hang around, simple get in your car and get out of the city.

By Peter K |

Because of its proximity to NYC and Philly the Allentown/Lehigh Valley area has always been the leader in "metro area inferiority complexes" in the nation despite it wealth of cultural, education and other amenities for the 1 million people that live here. The PPL Center changes all that. A major league venue for a top tier minor league market. Have always had a great time at hockey and especially concert events. Good site lines, easy access and new and great restaurants popping up downtown everyday.

By Bret S |

Great place to take in a hockey game, concert, or any other event. Friendly staff and awesome concessions. Not a bad seat in the place either.

By daddytrz |

This is a great place to visit, no matter what they have playing at the time, from concerts, hockey games, to bull riding,. Parking is no problem, and I found out that there is not a bad seat, and reasonably priced for all events.

By Michael F |

hockey up close, as well as concerts & a nice venue to get up close & personal at the event. easy parking & walking distance to dining.

By paula656499 |

Great venue, appears that most seats are good ones, Not a lot of obstructions. Wish they had a better area set up for smokers. Smokers had to go out and then back in through security again. No shelter for smokers in inclimate weather. I know we (smokers) are not well liked, but we do pay our fair share for tickets and taxes. (Smile)

By Patrick G |

The PPL Center is easy to get to, only a few minutes off of Route 22. There are numerous parking locations as well as street parking, if you’re lucky enough to find one. There are food vendors within the building offering cheesesteaks, roasted nuts, pizza, corn dogs, full bar, beer vendors, etc. We saw the TSO and there were no bad seats. Bathrooms were clean and staff was friendly and helpful. Just make sure your check the website for security policies in regards to pocketbooks and backpacks.

By Matt W |

This is a great place to see a concert. Everything else, not so great. First you need to find a parking lot, there are several around but $10 for event parking and you have to walk to the PPL Center. The next problem was the line to get in was VERY long, it is due to security checks so that is a positive thing. The worst is probably that there is simply not enough stalls/urinals in the bathrooms. LONG lines for both men's and women's bathrooms. Advise, get to them ASAP between bands (or periods for hockey) because if you wait you probably will miss the start of the next.

By 354cecilyr |

Came here for the Marvel Live show. We had seats on the upper level but being that it's a small arena, we could see everything pretty clearly. The kids had a blast and the tickets weren't too expensive at all. I would come here again for a different event. Food and merchandise is pricey, but most sports arenas are anyway.

By Lightning L |

A wonderful experience. The hockey game was exciting and the seats were wonderfully comfortable. Kept everyone entertained throughout!

By MichaelTQ92 |

Great place to see the Lehigh Valley Phantoms play some hockey. Been here about 10 games or so and always had a great time with my family. Highly recommend.

By BBMACIK |

The PPL Center is definitely one of the better parts of the city of Allentown. The inside is very well done, organized and clean. I have seen several concerts there and have enjoyed all of them. The staff is very helpful. Police are very helpful as well for any parking assistance.

By 4g0sselin |

It is nice to see the new PPL center full completed with an array of new food and lodging near by. If you like hockey you will really enjoy the venue.

It has transformed the downtown Allentown area. Parking is never a problem. Get there early and grab a drink or diner at one of the many food establishments. Chickie’s & Pete’s has a great lobster roll and loaded fries.

During the game food and drink is reasonable and the Phantom's really do put on a nice event and have some very loyal fans.

If you haven't been to Allentown's downtown area in a while or are just passing through, it is definitely worth a visit.

By LawShark27 |

Great venue for hockey. One of the best in Ahl. Lots of option to eat in downtown area all within walking distance.

By Brendermac |

Saw Santana/Journey here last year, and since this was our first visit to the center, I was pretty impressed. I am planning on going to see a hockey game soon. There isn't a bad seat in the house.

By gl1013 |

Went to see Barry Manilow & had a fantastic time. I like the fact that there is security there to screen all who enter. I plan on attending TSO's show this month!

By huskies0621 |

The show was amazing, the venue's staff...not so much. Repeatedly had staff members redirect us to others because they didn't know where our seats were for the show (standing general admission on the hockey floor), then we were pushed off the floor 5 minutes after the show was over while the stairs were still packed. The icing on the cake was being told we had to exit the completely opposite side of the arena because we had gone to the merchandise stand and they were closing (just 20 minutes after a packed show ended), all in spite of pleading with multiple personnel to let us out the proper door. Facilities were nice and clean. Parking was close, albeit tight (garages). Spent $250+ on tickets, concessions and merchandise....which we'll be taking to Reading or Hershey next time. Just not worth being treated like trash by the staff.

By samgreat89 |

Came for a Phantoms game. It's a very intimate atmosphere and you won't have to walk far to get food or beer.

By Debra W |

I had a wonderful time! Recommend it to everyone.Staff was friendly and extremely helpful.Great seating.

By John D |

The PPL Center is a great venue on many levels. I’ve been there for concerts, basketball and ice hockey games. I’ve also been fortunate enough to enjoy floor seating, stadium seating and suite seating on the upper level.

The Center is a nice size to afford anyone a good view, they can even modify the stage set up to provide a more intimate experience with the performance. We’ve seen the Eagles, Tom Petty, Neil Diamond and others perform, as well as enjoying Phantoms hockey and Villanova basketball.

The venue has a variety of food vendors from Chickie and Pete’s to more typical arena food. Drink options vary from bottled water to beer and wine vendors to a full bar in the restaurant.

By Kathleen D |

A wonderful place to visit for games and shows. Had great seats in the upper level for a hockey game... A terrific view of all the action.

By PackerGirl70 |

I was here to see a hockey game. I felt that there can't be a bad seat in the house! The venue is lots of fun for the hockey games. My only issue is the parking. My friend had a parking pass in the parking garage. Otherwise I'm not that familiar with the area, so I'm not sure and am uneasy about the parking. That's just me, though.

By Jeff S |

The PPL CENTER is located in center city Allentown at the corner of 7th St and Hamilton Blvd.

This is the start of the third year of operations in Allentown and the transformation the downtown is going through is nothing short of amazing.

The arena itself is beautiful it has a hotel and a couple restaurants built right into it, with many other nice restaurants in the surrounding blocks.

The inside of the arena is spectacular with plenty of food and drink options available. Hands down the PPL center is the nicest arena in minor league hockey with soft comfortable seating, wood panels on the walls it is one classy place to see a hockey game or a concert.

By Lisa B |

Saw a good concert there. Overpriced food, beverages and parking. Very frustrating. Acoustic doubt was good but I would not rate this a top notch concert venue

By virginiard |

This is a great event center for all types of events. We have been here for concerts, circus, and monster trucks. Great view even from the last row in the upper sections.

By greensand |

Bern here for a few hockey games. The games are great and the stadium is nice but the prices are high compared with other semi pro teams.

By yasimao1566 |

I recommend this place because of the performer artist they bring including Sir Elton Jones. Besides of my hometown team

By unhappy-camper72 |

Went for the TQ races. Great racing and did a very good job putting on the show. Price of the tickets HIGH and the price of the food was just stupid.

By Tom H |

Nice place to see a game. Good crowd but not crowde! Very good snacks, great selection. Will go again.

By Cynthia |

This is a nice venue for Phantoms games. The seats are nicely placed. There are many food options. The souvenirs are expensive. This has the side benefit of being located near Tim Horton's!

It is not, however, a good place to watch indoor car racing. The air system could not handle the exhaust fumes, and we had headaches through the next day. The noise was also extremely loud.

By Sheri B |

I have season tickets for half of the Phantoms games. Easy to find parking in the surrounding parking garages. Great security at events. Fast service at food and beverage stands. I have also seen a concert here. The same comments go for this type of event.

By Lisa H |

This is a great place to see a concert, if you can tickets before the scalpers get them and resell. Almost any seat in the place is a good location and there is parking lots close by to choose from. There are also some great restaurants nearby. Grain and Bell Hall are on the more reasonable side.

By Betsy D |

This is such an awesome arena for a hockey game. all the seats are great plus you have all the good food choices. I’ve sat all around on the first level but my fav seats so far were in the BSI section. Def a good night out as date night, friends night or with family.

By kcm357 |

My husband saw Le Cirque. Had a great time. Very convenient. Sat in the Morning Call section and was even more convenient. Loved the show being so local. Just got tickets for Elton John. Looking forward to that.

By Matt |

Ok 2 main reasons this beautiful modern arena gets 4/5 and not 5 are in general and not just pandemic time..1. Parking absolutely sucks and garage can’t handle crowds. There was only 1500 people and there were long lines to get into the elevator or stairs afterwards! Imagine that with full capacity 9,000 ! Yikes! Took 10 minutes at this capacity to exit from level 3 agin imagine a full deck from level 8- likely a long time to exit! This was the attached linden garage next game I’m trying the spiral deck, it’ll make a small difference but it’s not much better as you will still have to exit into linden st traffic Anyway reason 2, and I get the designers had to work within a city block or so but the concourse is too small for an arena this size! It was crowded with 1500 imagine 10k! Very narrow!
Ok one more bad that’s hopefully temporary . It was absurd that only 10 people were allowed in the store! Wolf what science was that based on? Lines were very long at intermission and guess what there wasn’t much distance in line so the limit actually made it worse for distancing! That’s not the phantoms fault that’s our governors!

And the Good!
Tickets vey very reasonable! Only $25 in corners/behind net to sit as close as allowed this season (row 6)
And boy was that view AMAZING! Having a slight distance from the glass but nobody in front of you made it really easy to follow the game! A ticket that close for the flyers is easy $175 and the phantoms and AHL as a whole level of play is very high so I’ll take AHL anytime and go multiple times! This game ended in a overtime phantoms win! Well worth the money! Great play from both WBS and the phantoms!

Concessions are reasonable for food- $111 burgers,$9 chicken tenders with decent portions drinks though yeah very pricey$4.50 water $6 soda..However for just $5 or $7!you can get a TIM HORTONS YES TIM HORTONS COFFEE in a take home mug! Very reasonable! And really fits the hockey theme! Such as treat as the nearest other Tim hortons is hundreds of miles away!

Staff very friendly and yes let’s you take off masks for brief photos and eating/drinking - that’s a big deal for me I don’t mind wearing one but I don’t want a keepsake photo in one either 😀

Very clean bathrooms and arena in general

Sight lines all around were awesome!

If you know the quirks going in and don’t let them ruin your day you’ll have a great time! I highly recommend a Phantoms game at PPL center

By dmreino |

Went for a hockey game. Nice arena. Chickie and Petes in house, although I'm not crazy about the chain. Not much more to say about it.

By Malalande |

I've lived in many cities and I can certify that the PP&L center is definitely one of the best. Besides from having one of the only Tim Horton's in PA (true hockey fans recognize the brand), the center boasts plenty of fantastic food options and easy (and well organized/managed) parking garages that take the stress out of 'going downtown'. I've attended concerts, hockey games, entertainment events and even my eldest's high school graduation and can say that stress was at a minimum (OK, a few hockey games were nail-biters) with my dollar going about as far as it can in a professional sports arena.

By Annette L |

Very nice .Saw hockey game great seats had nice time.I would recommend going.Very clean and not to expensive.Good food also.

By Mike P |

Saw Trans Siberian Orchestra at PPL Center. Nicely managed and comfortable. Many parking facilities at only 10 bucks for the show.

By Lisa S |

We enjoyed a few shows at the PPL...it is easy to get to and small enough so that any seat is great...and the preferred parking is very reasonable.

By Elcd87 |

This is a newer arena in downtown Allentown, part of a revitalization project for the area and it doesn't disappoint. I've been here for concerts (they have generated the business of quite a few main stream artists), Disney on Ice, Cirque du Soleil, and most importantly Phantoms games! I'm a current season ticket holder for the LV Phantoms and through all the events and games I've been to, I'll say you can't ask for a better staff or environment for a night out. There are plenty of parking garages surrounding the arena, so no worries there. Food and drink prices are on par with most arenas of this size and from a woman's perspective, there are plenty of bathrooms. Definitely go and show your support for the Phantoms!

By sb24pa |

This was our first visit to this venue. I was concerned about parking availability, but there are many options. You can go online and pay for parking in advance at one of the nearby garages. Good idea if you want to park at one of the closer garages but are concerned they could get filled up early. I would have liked to have seen some security at the parking garage before and especially after the event, but there did not appear to be any.

Venue is relatively new and very well kept. Seats were comfortable. Plenty of staff to assist and answer questions. Food and drinks seemed over-priced, but that is usually expected at these events. Can't comment on the restaurants within the venue, other than to say they were very crowded. We chose to eat elsewhere before arriving for the event.

Given the crowd, there was no real traffic to speak of arriving or departing. Easy in and out.

Would definitely return here for other events.

By Fran W |

Nice arena we were in 106 row 8. Good seats we parked in old Bonton garage close to arena and ate at chicks and Pete. But the whole arena has lost td if food and drinks. Doors open at 630 for 8 pm show.

By DiggerDan14 |

The wife and I both tried to get tickets for the James Taylor concert in March 2019. First you could not get 2 seats in a row where there were 3 adjacent seats left. I tried that twice. Then we tried to get tickets and had to go back and forth between screens and we ended up double booking. We had to delete that order.
Then we tried again. Went to the checkout and they asked how we want our tickets. We went for the email into our passbook. Whoops. Not so fast! Now you have to sign up for the process. Name address, password etc. all with the clock ticking. Yes they have a clock on you. Nope. Time ran out and have to start the whole process again.
Which we did. Tried to sign in with the name/password we just set up. Nope not in the system.
We gave up. PPL Center you should be ashamed! !!!!

By Linda D |

Hubs and I just attended Trans Siberian Orchestra at the PPL center and the crowd management was horrible. Show was scheduled to start at 7:30, doors were supposed to open at 6:30. Doors opened late, people lined around the building at both entrances while they tried to get thousands of people through the small metal detectors and security in less than one hour. Needless to say by the time the show started at 7:45 there were at least 1000 people still waiting to get in. They really need to get their act together! The show by the way was fantastic, but I'll think twice before attending a show at that venue in the future.

By Betsy M |

My friend and I love Bonnie Raitt. So when we heard she was opening for James Taylor only 1-1/2 hours away we bought our fan club tickets which were twice the ticket price because half is a donation to causes Bonnie believes in. We buy “special” tickets to get closer to the stage. Tickets to this show put us in the 8th row on the floor. Usually this ticket gets us in the first row, but this wasn’t a Bonnie Raitt show, it was a James Taylor concert, so we were okay with that. But when we tried to sit down the seats were folding and attached. Not only were the seats very narrow (even for an average sized adult) but my seat was leaning to the left. No matter how I sat I fell towards the person sitting next to me. We got very friendly very quickly. These seats were not worth $200.00! Not even $100.00 for tight slanted seats. Squeeze as many seats in as you can, but we won’t be back. Attempting to get to the highway was another problem as the police were directing cars and we could not go the way the directions wanted to send us. Then there were detours. This added 30 minutes to an already long trip. Not a great venue for concerts.

By Travelcouple15801 |

We recently attended a concert at the PPL Center. Overall it was a pleasant experience. The seats are comfortable and clean, the staff friendly. There is decent parking within easy walking distance. People attending functions here be aware of one thing: if you have a bag or purse that you want to take into the venue it will be opened and screened. There is also a size restriction for bags and purses they have a plastic pan and if the bag doesn't fit in the pan without forcing it, you can't take it into the building. This did not affect us but we saw numerous people that had to take items back to their cars. I thought I heard the security staff state the size limit is 12x12x6.

By mathmomkds |

I thoroughly enjoy the PPL Center. From the food vendors, the seating, and the restrooms, the PPL Center is a wonderful asset to the Lehigh Valley.

By cakelady64 |

whet there to see Disney on Ice. Great show and was easy to locate and park. Would go there for other shows.

By Kimberly B |

We saw a concert at this venue last year February 2016. The seats seem to all be in good placement, The music was Incredible. this Venue is just what Allentown needs.

By raachmyers |

A group of us came for a Phantoms game and light dinner for the first time ever and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We were able to get decently priced tickets for great seats, affordable food and drink and most importantly a night of great entertainment.

By Jennifer S |

Amazing architecture and organization. We love coming to Allentown to eat and feel safe walking around down town.

By Carmerlot |

I’ve seen several different concerts, events and hockey games. No matter where I’ve sat I always enjoyed the view. Vendors are ready for yo, getting in and out the security is awesome and well prepared for the flow.

On-site food whether Chickie and Pete’s or others is a nice touch. Parking garage can be limited for those who need it since members do purchases but their are other garages or on and off street parking (fee for lots).

By Fraumjb |

Beautiful stadium, lots of bathrooms. Food is too expensive, but lots of variety. Downtown location allows for other activities before or after the game. Parking is available in several hi-rise lots. Hockey, concerts, and lots of other uses for this venue.

By M0m_0f_Tw02010 |

Nice to see Mercy me and concert was awesome >) Only one hour from where I live :) Clean and food to eat :)

By Karenv432 |

I have attended three events at the center, a Phantoms game, professional Olympic ice skating, and a concert. The center is great for ice events. I was not trilled with the acoustics for the concert. I had attended an outdoor concert at Hershey and it sounded much better. Go early if you want a T-shirt or food as lines tend to very long at the vendors.

By Tomorourke1 |

I had the opportunity to see a Phantoms game at the new PPL Center in March. The new arena is well laid out, affordable and offers a family friendly atmosphere. There is ample parking in all directions but be a bit careful on the North side as the adjacent neighborhood is a high crime area.

By Kat K |

Nice venue, convenient to home and a variety of events held at this location. Good view from basically every seat. Don't like how congested the traffic is getting in and out of the venue. Lots of restaurants nearby to stop in before or after your event.

The food and beverage prices are outrageous!

Seating is a bit crowded for anybody over 5'5" and you don't want to sit in the last row by the curtains. They're constantly opened and closed and is a huge distraction plus people gather at the top of the stairs and talk so it interrupts your show.

Beautiful Arena with all the amenities. Every seat is a great seat and all the goodies are available. Make sure you grab a chicked cheesesteak, best chicken cheesesteak i've ever eaten, real chicken! period!!

Went to hockey game and had upper level seats and your closest thrice u like in Phila where your so far away.
Workers were all please try, respectful and helpful with a smile.
Great to Serbs many kids Saturday game meaning families which can't afford games in Philly these days.

Enjoyed our first semi pro hockey game. Then two days later went to see PENN STATE wrestle Lehigh. In a close one PSU pulled it out!!! Hope to go back and enjoys more events!! Love 2 hrs away but have family in Allentown.

Very Impressed with the Arena and the personnel! Unfortunately it was the coldest day/night of the year this past weekend so we did not get to see the adjacent restaurants/attractions. The Phantoms have garnered a good following of fans. All age groups--lots of children having fun!

Such a great arena for both hockey games and concerts; there are no bad seats! I've seen several concerts here. The boxes are comfortable yet cozy.

We live in Allentown and are thrilled to have such a great place practically in our back yard. We have been to several shows and events here and just love the place. Parking is not an issue, lots of restaurants within walking distance and the staff just cannot do enough for you. Great Place!!

I've lived in Allentown my entire life, so I couldn't be happier to have this fantastic venue right in my own backyard. It's small enough to be intimate, but large enough to bring in top-notch entertainment. Parking is easy and excellent restaurants are within walking distance.

So fun to have an arena like this close to home. During the hockey games go early for all the fun things you can sign up for and things to see. Concerts are the same, different areas with things to see or do. Excellent for family time with the kids. Great venue.

This was my 1st visit to the PPL Center. I took my 13 year old grandson to see the Harlem Globtotters for his birthday . The seats are comfortable even for my 6 foot6 inch frame. The sound system was excellent.

By jpurch2 |

Seats were uncomfortable for a 2 plus hour concert & the sound system left much to be desired. Facility is clean and fairly new. Parking is good.

By Chrisgoes |

Great venue, lots of ushers, reasonable food and drink and ample parking in the area👍 Groupon seats were even very good and doesn’t look to be a bad seat in the house.

By Becky B |

The seats are great no matter where you sit, the food service is excellent and you won't believe you are in a minor league stadium. Buy your tickets early as the stadium fills up close to game nights. Perfect for families and friends.

Awesome Concert at PPL. Def Leppard and REO Speedwagon put on great show, BUT PPL is wonderful for concerts. From Will Call Office to beer serves - $10 per beer. My wife and I loved the service and environment. We had 4th row seats and had plenty of room and security was good. People of Allentown/central PA most friendly. We will return. PPL was surprisingly modern, big city facility. Excellent venue.

We were all impressed with the ease of both parking at the facility and leaving the parking garage too. Staff members were on hand for us when we entered the garage and very efficient staff members made the exit from the garage after the event very easy and quick.

What confounded us........one elevator to take people from the event to the parking garage????? What were they thinking when they designed this arena?????

By Michael H |

We went as a large group to the Phantoms Hockey game. The seats were far beyond what I had experienced in Philadelphia from a comfort and view perspective. Recommended for groups or families. Being Minor league, half of the entertainment is "off-ice" - a great time and value!

You enter and then go to the area where the event is being held. The seats are set up like a baseball stadium: You descend and slide through a row of chairs to your designated / preferred seat. Like a baseball game, the view is better closer to ground level. The concession area is very clean !!! Prices are a bit high but the food is good !!! Bathrooms are nearby all the concession stands (located on the entrance floor just outside the doors that lead to the seating area).
Parking is next to the Center. Ample space is available and limited on-street parking is available if you prefer that choice.
This is an area you don't want to wander around aimlessly at night (after it turns dark). A 7-11 is across the street and tends to be a hangout for a variety of hustlers / street people. If you want to have a relaxing meal after a PPL Center Event, I suggest you 'get out of town' (after dark). If you go West, you will head toward Old Allentown; if you go East, you will be going toward Bethlehem PA.
There is no set genre for the Center. They will have Disney on Ice and then Wrestling the next week. I'm not sure how they did a monster truck event in there but they had it !!! (A friend of mine worked as an usher there for a short period; he said they covered the arena floor with dirt!!!).
Really nice place to go with family!!

We've come here for Phantoms games a few times, and we're always happy. The center itself is maintained really well, it's clean, and the seats are comfortable. This time, our tickets on our phone gave us trouble, but the staff was all quick to help and was very understanding. My only complaint is that they've changed the process for getting tickets/parking (this was our first time back since covid) and it's just not as simple as it used to be.

My wife enjoyed the idea of attending an LV Phantoms game until the game began. The two "fans" behind us were obnoxious all night. Foul language, lack of courtesy for the other spectators, and an overall disregard for those in a 10 seat radius had us tense, upset, and far, far from enjoying the night. After speaking to the usher at the first intermission, the usher helped these two understand what was expected of them. However, the profanity did not stop and fans on all sides of these two had to tell them multiple times to settle down. We thank God that they left with 4 minutes left to go in the game since that was the best part of the night. Don't ever want that experience again. Ever.

We were first time attendees and didn't know what to expect, so we were happy to say that parking was easy and getting in and out of the event goes smoothly also! Had a fun time!

first time visit to ppl center easy parking in garage, good seats nice venue, lots of good restaurants nearby and got to watch the news thru window at channel 69 studio

I have to say that I am a Pens fan, but I love visiting other teams arenas around the country. This is a minor league team and I have to say that this arena and its surrounding facilities are amazing.

Have been to the PPL center for Phantoms Games and High school graduations! They got it right when they designed the facility!

This venue is relatively known but felt like they were on a tight budget to build. The most glaring mistake the planners made for this place is the crowded narrow hallways between shows. If anyone was ever at the Spectrum in Philly, they would know exactly what I am talking about. and long vendor lines make it even worse. The sound was average and the front to back seat space was way too tight. We had the 3rd and 4th seats in the aisle and we could not get up once to leave our seats without greatly inconveniencing the people in the first two seats. Also my legs would cramp up every ten minutes and I would have to wait for everyone to stand up at the end of a song so that I could stand up to uncramp my legs. We will avoid this place at all costs.

great venue for almost anything. cheap parking nearby. check. security check quick and easy. check. ease of finding seats. check. helpful personnel. check. great view from anywhere. check. so I'm a foodie....would appreciate fresher and tastier choices... had to settle for chicken fingers and fries...not bad. not great. Bring in some tasty kiosks...just sayin.

Great location, great venue. Parking was reasonable and convenient and there are plenty of spots to eat or grab a drink across the street.

By RedHeadAgent |

The Phantoms Hockey team is a blast to watch here. You can see from every seat. The food and the bar service is fine. Enjoy!

By pncboy85 |

This place needs local food venues like Yoccos, and a local BBQ place. It is managed by a Philadelphia group affiliated with the Link/Spectrum etc and they bring NOTHING to Allentown. The venue for hockey and concerts is great but the vendors should be replaced. Overpriced and mediocre. Even Chicky and Pete's is forgettable.

By Allison S |

My college had graduation here. People was easily visible. TVs everywhere for close ups. Sound was on point. Tim Horton's inside. You don't have to interrupt everything to get out of your seat. Lots of parking.

By DiggerDan14 |

Been to the PPL Center a couple of times for a concert and hockey games. Going again tonight for preseason hockey. They have the usual food venues in the arena plus a lot in the area. From Cheap to expensive and all types of food. So you can park and get anything and everything for food. Also there is a sports bar in the center plus a pizza place in the center. The venue is great, plenty of bathrooms, beer and wine places. Seats all great because it not not as huge as some venues. Prices not to bad so try to check it out if you can.

By martinirock |

We have had season tickets for the Phantoms Hockey team since the PPL center has opened and it is great!! The staff is very helpful if you need help. The hockey games are fun and everyone really gets into them. We have also gone there for concerts and they have been great. The acoustics are great.

Small venue with remarkably good seating from just about everywhere. Handicapped access is a bit rough to get down to the floor area though (bad knees). Lots and lots of stairs. Food court choices were a bit better than average, but still a lot of fried foods. Parking is a bit of a hassle and not free. Overall though, for a mid-market venue, this is a good one.

The PPL arena hosts a semi pro ice hocky team and is the site of request special events and concerts. Parky is easy and the area is very accessable. The food selections are overwhelming and the prices are reasonable. I felt very safe in and around the arena in the newly developed downtown section of Allentown, PA.

We have visited a few times and really enjoyed the center for the hockey gameseason as every seat is good however we did not enjoy this venue for a concert. We did not enjoy the sound the acoustics are not very good. Overall we enjoy having a small seller venue so close to home

By Yukon2017 |

Went to hockey game and was impressed with the seating. Had seats in the corner at the top of the highest level and could still see the action well.

By Mark M |

What a great place for a concert. Easy to get in and out of, great concessions and local upscale. Need a hotel? A Renaissance is attached with it's own concert hall entrance.

By Curtis C |

Ridiculous window dressing security. Bags bypass metal detectors and are not checked but unwarranted body scans and searches are performed rendering the whole process a shame. Since tax dollars were used for the project, the constitutionality of such searches probably is suspect and ultimately should be challenged.

By imastuddmuffin |

Great place for games and shows .... spacious , the workers are super friendly and accommodating. Love that it’s connected to Chickie and Pete’s You can get great drinks and awesome food highly recommend both places

By djstu4 |

Watch an exciting hockey game. I won a free hotdog by catching a parachute. Then, Christian concert after game. Food pricey.

By gray_but_not_old |

Went to see the Hershey Bears vs. the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Although the match was a disaster--Phantoms didn't even score--the experience was nice, Seating and temperature comfortable. Crowd was typical for a hockey match but not unruly--actually enjoyable. Food stands were accessible without being too crowded. The jumbotron is a good feature although the numerous requests for "making noise" and volume were a bit much. Ingress and egress at the facility were very quite good especially upon departing the parking garage. The logistics seem to be well-orchestrated on the local streets. Kudos to Allentown and the PPL Center staff for this.

This is a WONDERFUL arena which can be used not only for sporting events, but major concerts and graduation ceremonies. Last night Barry Manilow came to town and performed to a packed house. The staff was kind and courteous and parking in the attacked parking deck was no problem. Can't wait to go there again.
