I would not recommend spending the extra money for Paisley Park After Dark. Total RIP off and very lame. A lot of hype for loud music playing in a dark room. Don't trust all of these reviews. It is so bad we left after 10 minutes.

We (g/f and me) did both the After Hours and Vip tours. The After Hours tour, as I understand it, is the regular tour that stays open late so you can enjoy Prince's music played by DJs and have dinner. The general tour was very enjoyable. Knowledgeable guides, fun discoveries, etc. After the tour ended, so did the fun for us. The staff was woefully unprepared to deal w/ the crowd there. We ordered simple food items to eat while we listened to the DJs/Karaoke. The Djs were fine, playing Prince music and people dancing. The interactive sing-alongs were very silly and something I feel Prince would roll over in his grave about. Save that stuff for Karaoke bars not where we come to appreciate the art of Prince. The food never arrived. After an hour we inquired, and they told us they had run out of food. They gave us our money back but never apologized. They all (including managers) looked so rattled like they had never been in a high paced service environment before.
The Ultimate tour was 3 hours long, and being that we had seen much of it 2 days before, it dragged on I felt. This is partially our fault of course, we chose it that way. However, the additions that we saw were really not worth the extra money. Maybe if you are a Prince fanatic and you wanted to see everything possible, it would be worth it. Myself, a major Prince fan and club DJ, felt pretty "meh" about it.
If we could do it all over, we would opt for the Vip tour and be done w/ it. Also of note, the descriptions for some of their online store items, notable the guitar pics, are very confusing.

So underwhelming. This really was a very disappointing experience. No exciting welcome, a dull greeting. First stop is a small entry space where they said Prince would entertain guests. How? It was 50 square feet.
Then really small artifact rooms with not much in them. Next was a recording studio room and they had the recording room blacked out, so we viewed a black wall. Then, we walked into a concert hall that had some outfits on display, but the room was so dark you couldn’t even see them. You got no real insight to Prince’s life. This was definitely not his personal space. Not worth the money or the visit. They really are not doing him justice at all, zero stars.

I missed out on the Ultimate tour so did the VIP tour and I was still so satisfied. There was one point when we were allowed to play ping pong in a sound studio. So cool!!!! A must do tour for any Prince fan visiting Minneapolis.

This was my second time taking the Ultimate Tour and it was even better!
The TOUR: We were in an intimate group of about 12. (5 members included myself and my family) I had fun schooling my fam all about Prince. Everything on display blew them away. The costumes, instruments, and his actual Walkman and cassette tapes that he would sing on and later critique himself, his study just as he left it. It’s such a beautiful memorial to Prince. They also added another one of his cars to the tour - A smoking White BMW convertible. I’m proud of the family, staff and fans for keeping the place going. What a legacy. Prince 4Ever. Our tour guide Josh was so passionate about Prince, he was totally into it! Great job Josh!
The DANCE PARTY: The Prince fans at this particular party knew how to rock the house!! Such a friendly, intimate atmosphere. Prince music blasting all night, DJ Holtz (Prince’s personal in-house DJ) was taking requests and spinning all his dance songs, including some by: Vanity 6, The Time and Sheila E. To all who attended, you guys turned it out! House quake! I felt like I was among true friends. This is what Prince's music does. Peace.

Everything was beautiful! The studios were amazing the sounds were great overall this tour was awesome go if you love prince music and legacy lastly the staff was professional and superb!

A wonderfully unique experience & an absolute must for any self respecting Prince fan.
I love, love, loved it!
Left me wanting more!

I would recommend the visiting here if you are a Prince fan. Tour prices are pretty steep. I went on the base tour and you only get to take pictures in two areas of the building. They seal your camera in a bag, scan you with a detector, and then start the tour. At the end towards the picture spot, then they let you have your camera and phones back. Plus, the tour is kinda rushed and you don't get a chance to read the tags about all the things in the museum. I'm not really a Prince fan, but I am acquainted with his music and wanted to learn more about the artist. I certainly learned more about him, but there is so much in the museum that I really didn't get to take in. I enjoyed my tour, and especially the club like performing areas in the back at the end where you can take pictures.

We had a girls weekend in Minnesota and decided to finally pay a visit to Paisley Park. Not everyone in our group were Prince fans so we purchased general admission tickets. The atmosphere inside was a little tense, we were immediately told to shut off our phones and hand them over for lock up and asked if we had any Apple watches or other photo capable devices, apparently they don't want any pictures taken and are very serious about it. One in our group had to use the bathroom and had to be escorted to the room and then escorted back to the group as if we were on lockdown. The tour was short but still nice, it was amazing to see his clothes, I didn't realize his size until his entire outfit, including his boots, were in front of me. His large studio where he used to throw parties/concerts was really neat to see. The gift shop at the end had a nice variety of items and not all of them were over priced. If you're any kind of Prince fan it's worth a stop.

I would have given this a higher rating if I felt that the value ( ratio of price of ticket to the experience) had been higher. At $75 (+ fees) for a 90 minute tour, this was nothing short of a money grab (a one-day ticket for Walt Disney World is $109-$150 and they will wow you for a full day). I expected a better experience. What you get to see is a few rooms dedicated to just a few of his albums that feature just a few artifacts. I expected to see a lot more artifacts other than the gold and platinum records that line the walls.
There are missed opportunities to make this place a better experience. Where is the information about Prince? Who was he? There is a very brief mention of his early upbringing, but nothing about his religious beliefs, the death of his son, and absolutely no mention of his death. If you didn't know better, you'd think that Prince was out of town and Paisley Park was open to the pubic while he was out.
When you enter the building, phones are locked in a case so that photos can't be taken during the visit until the very end. I can see why they don't want anyone taking photos because if those photos were posted online, people would not go because they'd see that there was nothing to see.
As for the recording studio that is part of the tour, that was the highlight because magical things happened there. However, the lights to the engineering booth weren't turned on and you were told that if you looked through the glass, you might be able to see the chair where Prince used to sit while he was wearing his producer hat. I couldn't see anything. Why keep the lights off???
The rooms where the tour takes you have a lot of empty spaces ... another missed opportunity. Fill those spaces with artifacts that the fans want to see.
Speaking of missed opportunities, the gift shop was a huge one. The gift shop is an after thought. Instead of charging $75 for a tour, they should lower the price of admission and make money in the gift shop but you need merchandise to sell to generate revenue. There were some keychains, t-shirts and some other little things but there was nothing special. And why wouldn't they sell his music in different formats like CDs and vinyl? There were a few for sale but there should be more.
I've done a lot of behind-the-scenes/backstage tours and have been delighted by them all except for this one. I felt like whoever was hired to make this a money-making venture was a newbie and has never seen a decent museum dedicated to music. They need to visit the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum for a lesson on how to build exciting exhibits.

I am a GIGANTIC Prince fan so take that into account, but I do believe a casual Prince fan or just a general music appreciator would enjoy this tour as well. If you're a BIG fan you HAVE to do the VIP tour. Worth every dollar. If you're a casual fan there is a shorter and less expensive version of the tour too. Pray that you get Tomi as your guide (although I'm sure the other guides are great too!). Tomi was extremely knowledgeable and kind. Myself and others taking the tour would throw him questions throughout the tour and the man could not be stumped!
It's true that your phones are in a locked pouch for the majority of the tour, BUT a new feature is that in the very last room of the tour (the concert venue Prince performed and filmed in) your phone gets unlocked from the pouch and you are free to take pictures in there. There is plenty to be snapped at. Sure it would have been great to get pictures of all the fantastic things I saw on the tour, but I found it to be a relief too that I wasn't burdened with wanting to pull out my phone and wait for others to clear out of the way so I can get MY picture as well.
Paisley Park is an experience you will never forget or regret.

I'm only a casual fan of Prince. I enjoy much of his music but couldn't tell you what album any single could be found on. My girlfriend is a true fan who has much of his music available on her phone at any time and cried when he died. We both enjoyed this tour very much.
Marshall, our tour guide, was knowledgeable, interesting to listen to, and gave us all a great insight into the place and the people who worked there. The exhibits were varied and full of items from tours, the movies, and the music. We would go again.

For those of us who grew up in the 1980s, this is our Graceland. I was really looking forward to going to Paisley Park from the time that I heard it had opened to the public. But I had mixed feelings about the experience.
The good. The artist's home and studio is amazing. You get to see where Prince lived and recorded his iconic music. There are numerous costumes, awards, and even vehicles. My teenage kids who were not familiar with his music were impressed. The person conducting the tour was very knowledgeable. She was also sensitive to the fact that it had been less than two years since Price had passed away.
The bad. The people who work here are really uptight. We arrived at 3:00 for a 3:30 tour, and we were told that we would have to wait in our car on a hot summer day! Why can't I just wait in the gift shop or reception area? You can only book reservations on-line, BUT you are not allowed to have a smartphone inside. So they take your phone and lock it in a canvass bag for the entire time you are there. Why can't I take photos? I was not going to buy the $25 book either way.
All in all, I am glad that I got to see Paisley Park, but they really need to make the place more user friendly.

I'm not sure what I expected from this visit, but I will say that I left BUT didn't want to leave (if that makes sense). A friend and I booked our Ultimate Tour several months ago, I couldn't wait to go. My friend had been before, on the VIP tour, but we chose to do the Ultimate and we were NOT disappointed. She said that this visit totally topped the VIP tour she did.. Thanks especially to our Tour Guide Tommy! He was awesome, he had so much knowledge and stories of his time spent with Prince and following him all the years he did that it made our experience more personal and awesome. I was sad that camera's were not allowed, so we could take photo's during the tour.. BUT I will say that all in all it was worth it to be able to focus on listening our guide talk and tell us his stories and to learn things about Prince I did not know before. But we were however able to have our phones unlocked and take photos'/videos in the last 2 rooms and we were SO excited that we were 1st in line to have our phones unlocked and get into that room! The music that was playing throughout the tour and in the studios made it so much fun, it made you want to sing and dance right along with the music. The Ultimate experience was a little on the pricey side BUT if someone asked me to do it again... I would!!! I grew up listening to Prince, and I have a memory to go along with alot of his songs, so it was truly an experience! The Memorial wall was also worth the visit, to see all the things that have been left to honor him, and all the messages in the tunnel it was heartwarming to see, read and leave our messages too.
Let me just add that in a time when Covid has stopped us from living, Paisley Park did a fabulous job of keeping us safe and socially distanced and when we are not able to go out to the clubs, go dancing or see live concerts.. THIS was the next best thing!

This was the ultimate experience! We had a tor guide who you could tell was passionate about Prince. Even saw tears in her eyes a couple times. We did the VIP tour limited to 16 in a group. We even got to record in Prince’s studio B! Our guide invited us to share our Prince stories which was like therapy. Many cool items on display including Grammy awards, MTV awards and the Oscar he won for best original song in a motion picture. Don’t miss Paisley Park! Bring your purple markers and leave a note in the graffiti tunnel.

What a fitting tribute to a brilliant artist and a beautiful soul.
I was disappointed when I initially found out that no photographs were allowed during the tour, but after having taken the tour, I appreciate this rule.
Not only does it preserve all of the mementos and surprises for other guests and allows them to experience that or in their own way, but it allows guests to be present in the moment. It forces guests to focus and really take in all of the memorabilia, the nuances, the history, the stories. It allows guests to take in the fullness of the Prince experience... as a musician, an artist, an entertainer, a creative genius, and most importantly, as a person.
At times, it was very hard to focus on what the tour guide with sayings with some of my absolute favorites Prince songs playing in the background (whatchu know about the "Batman" soundtrack?!). And it was impossible to resist the urge to shake your booty to some of those dirty, sexy baselines thumping in the background. More than a few of the women in the group squealed like overly-excited teenagers upon viewing our favorite mementos or memorabilia (self-included), and we were not ashamed.
Without giving too much away, I love that this place has, for the most part, been left in tact. Many of the things there are in exactly the same place that they were when he departed this life. It's chilling when you view some of his personal artifacts sitting in exactly the same spot where he left them for the last time. Things that clearly let you know that he was getting ready to do something else and could not have predicted or expected his untimely demise.
Even if you weren't a big fan of his music, if you are a fan of art, or music, or creativity, this place is worth seeing. Tours are 70 minutes (or longer, depending on the package that you purchased). I purchased the general admission package and was more than satisfied with all of the things that I was able to see and experience. At the end of the tour, be sure to check out the gift shop. I was really pleased with the variety and the quality of items that were for sale.
This was an absolutely fantastic way to spend an afternoon, and I'm so glad that I made time to bathe myself in the Purple Rain of this absolutely magical place.

Paisley Park is tastefully preserved in order to pay tribute to Prince. The tour guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. It was amazing to walk the same halls he was in as well as enter Studio A and his sound stage. Definitely a must see...today's equivalent of Graceland!!!

Outstanding Legendary Tour Thru Prince`s Studio & Complex, Very In dept Guides Keep Your Attention At 100, Impressive Collection Of Goods To Be Seen. All I Can Say Is WOW !! Keep up The Great Work. I`ll Keep Coming Back To See More.

While in Minneapolis recently, we booked the VIP tour for Paisley Park. This tour was such a great thing to experience. Our tour guide was really informative and she was prepared for any and all questions.
I was surprised at how much access we had to the museum. We were allowed to walk around most of the first floor. The second floor was completely off limits.
It was truly a unique and purple experience walking into his office, recording studio and soundstage. Some of Prince’s most iconic outfit are also out for display. We all learned a lot about the legendary Prince.
This is a tour worth checking out if you’re in the area. It was also a great thing to check off of my bucket list!

Glad I went, But I have to tell you in today's world its crazy that a person can not call Paisley !
& its VERY costly & then they charge you a service fee in addition to the high cost !
& I did the VIP which includes a "Photo Op" Hello they then charge you another $10 for a memory stick for your 3 pictures GIVE ME A BREAK for my $100 plus tax & serve fee they should include the damm memory stick.
& Whats the big deal to take a few pictures to help remember the nice time & stuff one saw, I wanted to take a picture of the sign that says no pictures, But I got told NO ! Ridiculous !
I will say the guy who greeted me at the entrance gate was really nice, the lady that took my extra $10 besides taking the $ Was real nice. & my tour guide lady was supper enthusiastic & real sweet ! (I think her name was Betsy) I asked to take a picture with her to help me recall her name, . . . but you guested it , NO !

The most amazing experience. I can't wait to go back. Margo was outstanding as our guide. I had waited so long to get there and it did not disappoint.

OMG, what an amazing experience. The tour guide Anna was a delight, and for being so young, knew soooo much. The space was great, and I LOVED not being able to have my phone, it allowed me to be present and really take in the space. THIS WAS a highlight for sure.

It was a dream for me to visit Paisley Park because Prince is my favorite artist. I loved the whole visit. It wasn’t sad, it feels like Prince is still there, you can hear him everywhere singing, in every room he is present. Walking into his studio, touching his guitar, seeing his office, having a drink in the NPG Music Club are a wonderful experience. Our guide was very good, he told many interesting anecdotes. That day, we had the chance to meet Nandy McClean, one of Prince's dancers. The visit is definitely worth a visit, whether you are a fan or not. May U live to see the dawn

As a musical artist, I really appreciated the emphasis that the tour placed on his love of music, creativity of sounds and his experimental freedom. But, it was also incredible to gain an appreciation of his artistic talents in fashion and videography. I felt the tour was well rounded in displaying his love of the arts, his love of people and his positive outlook on life.

No pictures allowed which is fine, but they lock your phone in a case you can carry, all smart watches have to be turned off. They take you into only the main floor, you get to see Prince's office, they have his music playing fairly loudly all throughout the tour, but it is all different tracks. As you move from one area to another it is a different album. The tour guide was not good. She told us we could google things. As we went into the studio areas, you had to put your face up to the windows to see into the control rooms. The control rooms aren't well lit so it was really hard to see. The guide's voice was soft and she didn't project and she didn't even try to make sure everyone could hear. At one point we were in a long hallway with a cool mural of lots of musicians, the overhead music was very loud and we were lined up from one end to the other, we couldn't hear anything she said. The shoe room was cool, and the guide played a song with 2 different sounds that was neat. They should do more interesting things like this. When we got to take pictures we thought that would be cool. When we got the email with the link, our link flashed the picture for less than a second then it was gone. When we tried to contact them to see if we could still get our pics, NO RESPONSE! We did end up googling some things after the fact and found out that Prince opened for The Rolling Stones; the guide should have shared stories like that. We did The VIP Experience $150 and 2 hours gone. All of us were so DISAPPOINTED. Other music producing museum tours are hands on and full of people who know the real history (Sun City, Muscle Shoals).

Paisley Park is obviously a bucket list item for all Prince Fans. It's also a great tour for casual fans of the legendary musician.
They offer 3 different levels of tours. I opted for the basic tour, which was great.
The higher level tours (VIP) allow you to see more, record music in Prince's private studio, party at his night club, and play ping pong on his personal table. They also have live music nights and different events at Paisley, so look out for those if you're interested.
The basic tour lets you see all kinds of things, including Prince's music studio, the piano room, the kitchen, the entryway with live doves, his personal night club, his car collection, the giant sound stage (where they filmed movies like Grumpy Old Men and music videos). They have rooms dedicated to individual albums, several of his motorcycles, tons of awards, and lots of personal wardrobe items. My personal favorite was the Purple Rain room!
There is a small gift shop at the end of the tour, I would like to see them expand what they have here. Felt a little bit empty. In the gift shop, you can buy Prince's favorite cookies and peanut butter bars (the bars were very good but expensive at $5.50 a bar). They also have Purple Rain on Blue-Ray for anyone who doesn't have it ($10).
I love that movie!
I have been to Elvis's home (Graceland) in Memphis Tennesse. It's difficult to compare these two tours mostly because Graceland was Elvis's permanent residence. Paisley Park was a mix of things for Prince. Recording studio, sound stage, personal club, business center, part-time residence. It certainly doesn't feel quite as homey or intimate as Graceland. Paisley Park is rather new (having opened to the public after Prince's unfortunate death in 2016). They are still adding things and altering the tours, trying to find the perfect balance. I did love that we had an actual tour guide take us around! Our guide was great and she was super knowledgable. I wouldn't be surprised if Paisley Park turns into the top tourist destination in Minnesota in the future.
Paisley Park is a 20-30 minute drive from MSP Airport. A must-do for all Prince Fans!
I would love to see them add a full-size replica of Graffiti bridge outside! The original in Eden Prairie was unfortunately torn down 25 years ago.

OMG!!!! I am a HUGE Prince fan so this was the ultimate for me. I signed up for the VIP tour which was great, but now I wish I took the ultimate tour. It's not cheap but it's worth it. The tour is outstanding. I loved seeing the studios where he created some of the best music ever. There's so much history in these walls- the stories, the awards, etc. If you like Prince, this is a must do!!!

This could have been a wonderful experience ... except for the security guard at the beginning and our tour guide, James. Considering museums fall into that category of hospitality.... we didn't feel very welcomed or wanted. There is no enthusiasm or passion... the security guard acted like we were all idiots and was abrupt and abrasive in giving the phone instructions and check in.
Then we got into our tour... James thinks he is better than everyone and was condescending, rude, snarky and quite the know-it-all. Comments like "or you can stare at me like idiots", "for the 4 of you who are actually fans" etc. His tone and demeanor were a total turn off.
After spending over $200 for my boyfriend and I go to on this tour, and then being treated so rudely by not one but two people, not being able to take photos, and so much of Prince's personal life and his death glossed over, I wouldn't recommend it.
We've been on amazing tours at Stax, Sun Studios, Graceland and were treated with appreciation by people who clearly love the story of the place they work. Spend your money elsewhere!

If u r a diehard Prince fan, u already know 3 hours ain’t enough! Can’t wait to return. Special thanks to Mark, Tommy, the gift shop for the Cheesecake Funk!

We took the basic tour while visiting friends from Minnesota. The tour was very intriguing and our guide was passionate and informative. I came away from Paisley Park feeling like I knew Prince on a personal level. It succeeded my expectations.

Very interesting tour with a very passionate tour guide. I learned more about Prince than I already knew. Nof being able to take pictures was the only downside.

If you’re in the area, Paisley park is a must visit. Seeing inside Prince’s world, the artefacts & the story of his life & art is a dream come true. 💜💜💜

1:00 p.m. VIP Tour
If you are a Prince fan, then you MUST do this! I was fortunate to have a very special person in my life who made all of the arrangements for us to do the VIP tour on my birthday and it was awesome!
I won't offer any details of the three-hour VIP tour because it's an experience with several surprises.
Note: cell phones and cameras are not permitted in the building. We carefully read the instructions provided prior to our visit, and we so respected their wishes that we left our cell phones and cameras in the car.
The VIP tour experience was very well-organized - - I didn't feel rushed through the building and having the opportunity to spend a significant amount of time (three hours) in Prince's world of creativity was nothing short of absolutely thrilling!
Our tour guide, Josh, was excellent - - I appreciated his patience, his energy, his knowledge and his honesty. Thank you, Josh, for an amazing experience!
I was overwhelmed by the experience - - it was surreal for me. There were questions I should have asked, but I didn't because I was so focused on taking in all of the sights and details; and there were moments when our tour guide was talking, and I think I heard most of what he said, but I was focused on all of the visuals... So, I'll need to go back and do it again!
CHEERS to the Paisley Park team on an outstanding job!

Paisley Park was an impressive facility. First of all security is tight. You have to show your reservation when you drive into the parking lot. You enter the door and you have to turn your phone off and put it into a sealed bag. You get it back towards the end of the tour and can take pictures in a couple of spaces. We took the regular tour. We got to see a little bit of Prince's living space like the living room and his office. We did not get to see his bedroom or other personal spaces. We went into a recording studio, a Purple Rain room, and the best room of all the shoe room. The shoe room was AMAZING! So many shoes displayed and even some videos from his shoe makers. Then at the end you get your phone back in a large and small performance space. They play his music and show many videos from his life. It's a great tour!

This was an awesome tour. We did the VIP Experience. Our guide, Kyle, was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. If you’re a Prince fan and are in the Minneapolis area, this is a must.

If you are a Prince fan, this is a MUST! I went on the 3-hour Ultimate Tour. The other tours, I'm sure, were nice but for my big celebration, I didn't want to miss anything. I was in awe the whole tour! Yes, I cried throughout the tour, but luckily they had tissue boxes strategically placed for our convenience. With the ultimate tour, we were able to go into all the studios and take a picture with one of Prince's guitars (couldn't touch, lol). Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, and everyone was very friendly. I wore heels and was comfortable, but my friend was always seeking to find somewhere to sit down and rest her feet, so if you aren't used to wearing heels, don't do it on the extended tour. There were couches and chairs, but we couldn't sit on them, but in some areas, we could sit and relax. Dress for pictures! Some fans in my tour group were upset that they didn't dress for the occasion because they didn't think that we could use our phones to capture pictures during the tour, but they allowed us to take pictures at the end of the tour. It was the tour of a lifetime!

Super disappointed in Paisley Park. We purchased tickets ahead of time, as recommended, but there was a surprise late spring winter storm overnight the night before, and they refused to give us a credit when we couldn’t make the drive in. When I asked for a credit due to the fact that we were still being advised not to travel, they replied, “ Your request was submitted to management and was denied because Paisley Park was open during that timeframe.” Of course that area was less affected by the storm than other areas. Such poor customer care.

We purchased our tickets on line and wanted to try this since we were in the area. While we are not big Prince fans, we felt the entire experience was not worth the price of admission.

This was by far the most memorable tour I've ever been on. I could feel Prince in every single room we went in. This place was simply AMAZING and well worth it. We did the cheapest tour and our tour guide was AMAZING - she went well over the 30 minutes and was so knowledgeable!

This is definitely unexperienced that everyone should go not only is there area a beautiful area i'd like to be able to go into princes home workspace what's amazing he wasn't amazing a very talented human being the definitely left this planet too soon

We did the VIP Tour and it was fantastic. Husband is a Prince fan, me less so, but we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Our tour guide, Tom, worked for Prince and he had some great stories to share with us. It really gave us an insight into the man and his genius, and we came away seeing Prince in a whole new light, and with a lot more respect. The studios were amazing, and other parts of the Tour really showed Prince's human side. Thoroughly recommended!

This was the greatest trip!!!! Being a Prince fanatic, this is a MUST. It was everything I hoped it would be - so PRINCE - just the BEST. There was an event which turned out to be great. If going, check out their website because there are alot of events scheduled which is more fun.

Can't believe I debated on booking this tour. It was amazing and more!! Highly recommend. Do not miss out on this opportunity to pay tribute to Prince by visiting his estate. He wanted it this way! We did the general tour which was totally fine for us. There are other options for tours. Doesn't look like much from the outside but it is awesome on the inside. Simple and just the way Prince liked it. Our guide was awesome and showed her appreciation for Prince and his music through her enthusiasm and emotion. No phones allowed. If you bring it in they will make you turn it off and put it in a securely locked pouch which security unlocks at the end of your tour. We took our pictures outside before we went in. There is a little gift shop with some cool souvenirs. Tickets can only be purchased online.

I have a great deal of respect for Prince but I am by no means an expert. But I’m a huge music geek and the Paisley Park ultimate tour was right up my alley. Our excellent tour guide shared a lot of detail that was fascinating about various different aspects of Prince’s career. The shoe collection was fantastic to see — and I am not a fashion person at all. If you are a music fan who finds yourself in the Minneapolis area, make the time to trek out to Paisley Park. P.S. - You will need to be without your mobile phone for nearly the entire duration of the tour — about three hours for the Ultimate Tour. (You will be able to keep it with you, but locked in a Yonder Bag.)

Wonderful tour, intimate look of the life of Prince. You get to see his clothing, which I learned HE designed!costumes ,his hand written lyrics, There are no cell phones allowed during the tour. They must me checked and locked or you can lock them in your car.

Our group of 4 thought the tour was fantastic. While I am a huge fan, the other 3 are more casual fans. We all thoroughly enjoyed the tour. We opted for the VIP tour which was well worth the extra money. Our tour guide, Corri, was very knowledgeable and friendly. The group was a reasonable size. it was easy for everyone to hear what she was telling us. There was plenty of time for us to look at all the displays.
Recommend you leave your cell phone in your car as they are not allowed.

It was a great experience. The guide was VERY informative. The space is beautiful.
You can tell the parts of the house he lived in. What a great place to spend the day.
You def could feel Prince's aura!

Myself and three family members booked the "VIP" experience; It was an overall disturbing experience. From the very arrival we were treated disrespectfully by the security who are extremely abrasive. In fact, had we not already paid we would have left immediately. Upon entering we all experienced a feeling of confinement; doors were locked behind us ... Small rooms with an overcrowded feeling. The tour guide was unenthusiastic and difficult to understand. He spoke very quickly and softly.... Except for correcting us when entering what we understood to be a part of the room we were looking at. We eventually decided to leave early to end this "VIP" awful experience. As we left were reprimanded and felt like we were doing something wrong by wanting to leave (escape as it seemed). Not only do we strongly suggest to not spend money on this tour, we actually deter anyone from going.

Just went last weekend and it was an amazing experience to think I was in Prince's home. I wouldn't take kids but an amazing experience for Prince fans!

Paisley Park is a must see for any Prince fan. Everyone comes together as one just like Prince would have liked. The tour is magical, you see a lot and for me was very emotional. The guides are informative, friendly and love their job. The food in the kitchen was great, I had to have his favorites, pancakes and choc mousse pie. What a fantastic place to visit. I highly recommend!!!!!

I am so glad that the timing worked out so we could do the tour and dance party. It would have been incomplete without some time to dance. The music is WAY TOO LOUD though, so we definitely needed ear plugs. It isn't necessary to be so loud, so I don't know why they did that. I appreciated learning more about Prince and imagining him living and playing there. RIP.

The price is out of line for the quality of the tour.
No PICTURES are allowed to be taken on this tour. Security is out of line for this type of event.
Your phone is required to be locked up and turned off. The tour size should be reduced to no more than 10 persons to accommodate the spaces viewed. The staff at this place are generally unfriendly, pushy and unfriendly to the guests. The information provided is more in tune to visiting and open house.
There are many great places to visit in Minneapolis. This is not one of them unless you’re an extreme Prince fan.
Fort Snelling , Mill Museum. US Bank Stadium Tour, Target Field tour, and many more!
If you want to drive by and take a look, that might be OK, but spend your hard earned money at a place where you get value for your money and the staff treat you well!

I’ve traveled to Minneapolis once a year for the past 25 years. I’ve been all over the state and seen many of the attractions that MInnesota has to offer. Paisley Park is absolutely my #1 MInnesota experience. The tour is so well done and such a fitting tribute to the great artist that Prince was. Shout out to Corri for being such a great host for our tour.

My wife wanted to see Prince’s shoes and WOW, what a pleasant surprise. I had only heard of Prince and was not familiar with him. We did the VIP tour which was wonderful. Prince was a musical genius. He was a fan of his fans in Minneapolis area and treated them with so much respect by playing free concerts and cooking breakfast for them at Paisley Park. Go visit Paisley Park, you will be glad you did. Oh, she saw the shoes as well.

I went on the 90 minute tour which was very interesting. I'm not a huge Prince fan (I went with some other big fans) but I found the tour well done and interesting. The guides and everyone who works there are huge fans and have lots of personal stories to tell as well as the tour route. It was a bit smaller than I thought, but there was time to spend in various areas and everyone seemed very satisfied.
No cameras allowed for most of the tour, but actually that probably means that everyone listens to what is being said and people aren't pushing in front of you to get pictures. Swings and roundabouts!
If you don't book a tour, they will let you go into the gift shop, which would also be fun for Prince fans I'm sure (merchandise is not overpriced, in my opinion).

My sister and I stopped here on the way to a friends home in MN. Very interesting and informative look at the genius we knew as Prince. It was cool to see his studio and so many of his outfits. Grateful for his contribution to music and for those who work had to be sure his legacy lives on.

Great tour, especially because of our tour guide, Margo I think was her name. It’s obvious she loved Prince and loves her job. We did the least expensive tour and it was perfect. Always wanted to come here and it did not disappoint!

Visited Prince’s home and studio after Thanksgiving. The tour was very eye-opening into how Prince thought about and controlled his production of music. I was tremendously surprised by the recording studio and the sound stage. Well worth the time to drive out from Minneapolis!!

OMG! My group of 4 went on my actual birthday 10/10. I booked the VIP tour. Our tour guide was the absolute best. All of the staff were extra friendly and helpful. We had a great time laying our vocals in the studio. I butchered the most beautiful girl in the world. Our tour was about 2 hours and well worth it. I was surprised that it on the corner of the street and not hidden. Even though we couldn't touch things, I still had a ball. I will admit I was a little disappointed in the gift shop. I expected more things and a better variety. I plan on coming back to do the Paisley Park at night. I highly recommend for true Prince fans. Absolutely no cell phones, cameras or smart watches allowed. They don't play and security is tight.

Prince fan for nearly 50 years. Definitely worth it. If you're a fan or even remotely have heard of Prince, it is well worth the trip and tour. To see how he put his talent and genius to work is a unique experience you will not forget. The tour was well organized, the guide extremely knowledgeable.

Josh is an excellent tour guide, knowledgeable, patient, personable, and funny. The tour did not feel rushed. I purchased the VIP tour for about $100 and it was more than enough time ti explore, ask questions, etc. I did a day trip, flying from Baltimore to Minneapolis/St Paul just to go to Paisley Park! I had planned to visit the Mall of America but went there in Aug on my way home from Iceland. Paisley Park was an excellent day trip! I would visit again!!

I did the VIP tour, which was good. The guide was good and knowledgeable. You basically tour downstairs but not upstairs where he slept and his personal quarters.
No photos until the end. The gift shop could have been better. But if you are a Prince fan, this is a must.

This was well worth the money. Our tour guide was Marshall and he was so knowledgeable. If you are a Prince fan you should take this tour.

I was in absolute awe from the moment I pulled into the parking lot. This tour is an absolute must do. As a die hard prince fan, I was impressed but the memorabilia presented to me. Each room we walked into offered more then the previous. He was a man before his time for sure.

As fans of his 80's/90's music we were interested to see inside the much talked about Paisley Park and it didn't disappoint. Really intriguing, fascinating and inspiring look inside the personal and professional man. You don't have to be a massive fan to really enjoy this. We did the general admission tour and had a really good guide called Chad. Thanks Chad!

I was lucky enough to be surprised for my 50th birthday to be flown to Minneapolis and a VIP ultimate tour of paisley park. I was super excited for 3 hours of emotion, fun, and information, our tour guide Tomi was absolutely a gift, his connection to Prince, his passion for what he projects and his overall care, and understanding of what Prince fans come here for is special indeed. He made you feel comfortable and let you emotionally express and enjoy the absolute love and connection Prince proclaimed and demanded. The tour took us through various rooms Prince had written, recorded, cooked, relaxed, and meditated....and oh yea performed!!! The unseen footage of him performing and mixing of songs was worth the experience! Lunch at the end was nice way to end the tour and bond with the fellow purple fams we spent the last very happy 3 hrs with. Thank you Tomi, and paisley park staff.

This was a tour I really wanted to do as soon as I learned Prince’s house had been turned into a museum.
The tour itself is amazing and it was great you got to see his costumes as part of the general admittance as this is extra at Graceland.
I would say though that considering the same company manage Paisley Park and Graceland I don’t understand why they haven’t implemented the same things in Paisley Park as they have Graceland.
Photos cannot be taken during the tour. We were told it is because prince didn’t allow photos in the property but a quick google search would prove this wrong.
Also the tour is guided by a person in Paisley Park instead of an iPad. At times the tour felt rushed and we finished 10 minutes ahead of the advised scheduled time.
You only really get to see the recording areas so the tour gives you a feel for the artist Prince but not the person or his personality. That was a real shame.
The tour could be so much better with a few tweaks and as good as the tour at Graceland

Beautiful! It's a must see and I'm going again! Prince's creativity and zone of genius is outstanding!

Went on the full 3 hour tour which I recommend to the big Prince fans. You get some parts of never before released songs and access to certain other rooms not available on the shorter tours. You do get some excellent photo opportunities and other cool moments which I won't spoil.
I can't remember our tour guides name but you can tell he's a fan of Prince just by what an enthusiastic fellow he is. Highly knowledgeable and was able to keep the group well entertained throughout. Same goes for all staff and guests alike.
I feel the price was fair for what you get, as did my partner who isn't even a massive Prince fan.
You will be standing for most of the tour so would be wise for you to wear some comfy shoes.

I really enjoyed the tour of Paisley Park, but the three issues is that a) the website says that the GA tour is $35 but then the cost is $50 when you buy it. b) they lock up your phone and c) it's at the opposite end of the earth from Minneapolis. Somewhere in the reviews someone says you can get a closer ride from Mall of America than from downtown - don't pay attention to that suggestion. It's just as far from either MOA or downtown. Expect to spend $30 each way to get to Paisley Park. The tour guide we had was exceptional and very knowledgeable, and answered all of my questions. Being able to see the costumes, and the recording rooms and equipment up close, and his cars was just amazing. I was awestruck. I think the best rooms were the Purple Rain Room, and the Live Soundstage room. That live soundstage OMG and with the cars lined up inside and the different costumes displayed - it was perfection. The gift shop needs to be expanded - sell copies of album covers or something and please add a sit down café with at least counter service so that we're not all just sitting on the curb in the parking lot waiting for ubers. They also need to add some benches along the route of the tour so that we're not on our feet 100% of the time. I almost went and got myself one of the wheelchairs. This is a must do if you are traveling in Minneaplis.

I was very happy with the experience that I had on the VIP tour that I took. Quite honestly it was better than i expected. The only thing that I would like to add to this is that I wished they had added more of the giving man that he was. -I never followed prince untill he died unfortunately. After watching and reading things on him I became almost obcessed with the man not only his music and awards. I hope that they add more of the man and how much of giving heart that he had. I do hope somehow the people that are in charge of the whole paisley tours read this and add more of the man with everything that have about his musical genius. The

I enjoyed this tour and will always remember visiting Prince’s home. The tour was informative and I enjoyed every minute of it. We did the basic package and I felt like I learned so much. Your only allowed to take pictures on certain parts of the tour. If you love Prince… you must take this tour.

We never saw any of his guitars, never saw the vault with all his music, never saw any of the bedrooms.

There are not many times when you visit an icons home loving the person more than before you visited the place. I learned more about what a musical genius Prince was and to see his recording studios, sound stage, his wardrobe, instruments all were amazing! Our guide was great too! This is a must place to visit and to understand the greatness of Prince

More mausoleum than museum. Prince’s spirit is entombed in Paisley Park, an injustice to the artist, his genius, and his ever-seductive playfulness. In every aspect of his creative life—song writing, performing, fashion design, and business management—he was ahead of his time, so much so he was often misunderstood in so-called real time (which bore no relationship to Prince time). He was a futuristic 21st century artist, but Paisley Park locks him in the 20th century in a series of unimaginative exhibits and narratives. Even Van Gogh, dead for over a century, has had his work reimagined for a modern, awe-inspiring experience.
The security screener is the first downer, ensuring all enthusiasm is quashed within visitors before they enter Paisley Park. Everyone understands the need to guard the treasures within, and they’re willing to lock up their phones and cameras during the tour. There’s no need to berate visitors whose only crime was to pay $160 and turn up on time.
We give credit to our tour guide who had oodles of enthusiasm, but it soon became clear that they had to hew closely to a pre-approved script. Questions weren’t really answered, and it seemed the guide lacked knowledge outside the approved narrative and/or was not allowed to speak beyond the script. Part of the tour also included what can only be called YouTube videos, which didn’t enhance the experience. Since Prince documented so much of his life, including at Paisley Park, a series of more insightful, more intimate, less-public video clips would have been more appropriate.
We also appreciated the recording studio tours, but again, as music history was made there, more (not just one) demos of how Prince used the equipment to refine and define his work would have told a better story. We got more info on the sound board company than how Prince used the soundboard. What made Prince’s use of this equipment different from that of other musicians? Was it simply that it was in his home and always accessible, or something else?
We were glad we planned our tour around the shoe exhibit. The video interview with the shoemakers was insightful. Prince’s shoes were in remarkable condition for the beatings they must have taken, and we’re sure some conservation/preservation credit belongs to a wonderful team. Missing, however, was more context as to when shoes were worn, to include photos of the artist wearing his creations. Visitors should be allowed more time in this room. We had about 15 minutes, but the video was 12 minutes, leaving 3 minutes to look at 300+ pairs of shoes and read the handful of printed info plaques. The shoe exhibit could also be used as a proxy to string together a timeline of Prince’s musical journey and style choices, absent from the tour narrative.
The final disappointment of the tour was the gift shop holding the saddest collection of t-shirts, and tambourines. (Interesting that prudish Paisley Park chose to highlight Tamborine, a Prince song about self-pleasure.) And did Prince even own a t-shirt? That seems an inadequate mode of memorialization, and in some cases, downright offensive (see photo). How about recreating some of his amazing fashion designs or color combinations?
Prince constantly evolved and changed. Paisley Park desperately needs to evolve and change. A Paisley Park tour has the potential to inspire thousands to harness their talents, inner dreams, and inspiration to go beyond what we think any one human is capable of in a lifetime—especially a short lifetime. The Paisley Park experience needs to be as unreal as the man who created it.

Prince left such a huge legacy and this tour embodies all he wanted to give back to his fans with the many artifacts, costumes, etc. We took the 70 minute tour it was well worth it.

Purchased the VIP tour for 5 adults (2 had been on tour previously and loved it). Almost $500 for 5 adults and scheduled for 1 hr 40 mins. The tour guide was a female named Siena (sp?), hopefully this was just an "off" day for her because she had zero enthusiasm and seemed like she wanted to be anywhere else, except walking people through Paisley Park, which is essentially all she did; walked us through.
Fortunately for us, our friends had attended a previous tour and remembered many of the stories about Prince, that their previous tour guide had shared with them. They were able to recall/relay many of the fascinating stories.
$500 dollars and barely an hour later she walked us to the gift shop and dropped us off.
In hindsight: the "cheapest" (NOT the VIP) tour option may have been the best option to see Paisley Park.
Glad we did this, but likely wouldn't do again, unless I was certain about getting a different tour guide.

Prince was a complex and many layered artist. His genius is well documented and universally accepted. However, the enigma that made up the person named Prince is a mystery, hidden behind both his need for privacy and what is obtuse. I wanted this museum to answer some of the questions remaining about this musician who gave the world so much to enjoy. Instead, Paisley Park is a shallow legacy of his cover, his performance, and his indulgence. He was much more, and his loyalty to Minneapolis should be cherished by a place that scratches more than what we all saw on television. Prince forced us to question many of our preconceived notions about gender, race, music, and corporate avarice. His true legacy cannot avoid these heavy issues. Paisley Park chose to side step almost all of them.

I booked the ‘Ultimate Experience’ based on this, for me being a Prince fan, being a once in a lifetime visit. Our guide Tomi was superb, he was a superfan who actually ended up working here. He was incredibly knowledgable and at times you could see the emotion in him, even though he’s given this tour countless times. This is a must for any Prince fan, and though I’d thought of this as once in a lifetime, I WILL visit again. My only disappointment is that with the tour being run to a schedule, I couldn’t get to see all of the items displayed on walls etc, as we were on to the next thing. A small complaint, but there’s so much to take in, and just not enough time even in the three hours allotted to the tour. If you’re thinking about visiting, all I’ll say in conclusion is ‘DO IT’.

Even if you're not a Prince fan, this tour is just terrific. Extremely well organized, great visuals and sound. A must if you're in the Minneapolis area.

Let me just say that you will not be disappointed! This tour was/is awesome. I don't think you can really see and appreciate everything in one visit. If you are a true Prince fan, you might need 2 to 3 visits to take in all of the artistry and information that surrounds you everywhere. He was a true Artist-Preneur! I loved so much of it. I can't pick one thing. But as a minimalist I would say that for me that seeing one person who owned so many shoes and so many that they couldn't display, I was in awe? It's worth the trip. No public transit out there, so drive your own, rent a car or uber-share. Be prepared for them to put your phone on lock until you reach the point where you can take a few pictures. i think there was also no gum chewing allowed. Pack your water and snacks in a light back-pack and try to go to the loo as close to your arrival as ya can bcuz you hafta wait for other groups ahead to move forward before your group moves...Oh Yeah...definitely schedule ahead of your visit and pick the best tour and tour time for you.

Beeing a fan of prince i managed to convince my sons to come with me to visit the original studios for a so called vip tour. Well, it s a trap! You are allowed to sit on the ‚ prince‘ couch an play on prince‘s original ping pong table. What a joke as they are much too recent to be part of the original setup. And don t even think about asking some tech details of the studio...

A group of us went on the general tour. It starts by the guard telling me to park across the street and wait (a friend had tix and coming from work and I arrived before her). There was plenty of parking spaces there outside the gate for us to wait. Next, we enter and our phones are sequestered into locked bags and no option to even take a quick pic of the gang at Paisley Park. The tour was cool, going into the studio was very cool. We heard about things I already knew as a local, saw cars we had seen Prince drive through the years. Most noteably what needs improvement is many of the display signs describing things are in the dark, or his awards are lighted but the glare makes it impossible to read what it is. They need to improve this to be on par with other tours on similar scale. The biggest disappointment I think was still no place at the end to snap a pic. They unlock your phone only on way out door, where they direct you to walk across the parking lot in the snow. As a local I was dressed for it. Plan for the weather when you enter. Other tours would atleast have a covered walkway back to the main lot. Maybe I will try it again in a few years once they tune this in more, has potential to be far more outstanding than it is.

Being a huge fan we had to go while visiting family in St Paul. Rented a car and away we went. Purchased the VIP package and were NOT disappointed. If you are a Prince fan definitely pay the extra!

We were given free vip tickets for the celebration weekend so we had a lot of fun and New Power Generation performing in front of Prince concert footage from the 90s really was fantastic. Not sure what it’s like the rest of the time but I reckon it is for die hard fans only.

I have travelled all over and been to other homes/museums (eg Graceland). I have NEVER been treated like the way the staff at Paisley Park great visitors. They are wildly unfriendly and verge on being plain mean. As soon as you walk in the door they make you shove your phone, camera, smart watch, etc. into lock bags. The tour is very sterile and a bit expensive. The coolest part is seeing some of Prince’s stage wear/costumes. It would be nice to allow photographs on the tour. It would only help promote and create interest in the museum. It’s just a really weird vibe the whole time which, in my opinion, gets set off from the beginning with the rude and military-esque staff. If it’s rainy/cold, go spend some time. If it’s nice out and there are other things to do, go do those.

If you consider yourself a big prince fan you have to visit paisley park. Such an amazing experience.

My wife and I booked the ultimate experience and were really looking forward to seeing the full studio experience of Prince. Upon arriving, we were forced to wait for a supervisor as my wife wears a face shield for a medical exemption. We explained this to the staff and attempted to explain that both the state laws and their our terms and conditions were being followed. One of their employees violated our six foot distance space multiple times after I asked him to step back. Very rude and dangerous staff. I would not recommend.

On October 19th, 2019, was my second time touring Paisley Park. Tomi our tour guide was very excellent and full of information. I surely will be back to tour again on the Ultimate Tour. 2017 of May, Mother's Day weekend was my first visit there. That tour was good to. I did the V.I.P. then. It was breathe taken. So with all been said the ULTIMATE TOUR is my favorite and will be returning next year. I just cant seem to get enough of PAISLEY PARK. I'm truly one of Prince #1 fan. Sincerely Yours,
MS. ANNIE ROGERS-HOUSTON.

Surprised my wife with "The Ultimate Prince VIP Tour" for her Birthday. Needless to say we are both Huge Prince fans and the Tour did not Disappoint in the least. The staff was very nice and accommodating in all aspects. Our guide "Tomi" was wonderful and very knowledgeable and the entire facility. Touring Paisley park was a dream come true and please note if you're a fan of Prince it can be emotional and overwhelming at times. Wear comfortable shoes you will stand most of the time (Keep in mind this is a Memorial/Museum) They are very serious about no photography. If you purchase the Ultimate experence you'll recieve a Photo taken by them placed on a USB thumb drive. Parking was plentiful and the guard at the gate was very nice also. We had a Vegeterian meal and a Smoothie prepared by the kitchen staff at Paisley park and apparently this was one of Prince's favorites (It was delicious). The Tour ends at the gift shop, Needless to say my wife and I filled up on all the goodies there. Summing up, seeing the various studios, Concert venues stages and knowing that Prince lived here was an experence that all his fans should experence. Since things are constantly being added gives us an excuse to make this an Annual or Semi Annual destination. Thank you 💜Paisley Park!💜

DO NOT MISS!! Even if you're going with a Prince fan, and you may not necessarily be, you will still learn so much about recording studios. The tour could include more about his philanthropy. The home / museum is very well done, the tour guide is funny and knowledgeable.

While not a big Prince fan, we decided to take it in. Entry fee is a bit steep - also there was no “early bird” special available despite toggling several dates & there is a surcharge at the check out they keep quiet about till the end. Tour guy was learned and enthusiastic - rooms are a bit predictable apart from the main concert hall which is super cool. I wouldn’t recommend the “normal tour” save yourself for a Saturday night party there or perhaps the VIP offers more. Memorabilia worth a look.
The strict no picture policy is a bit daft in my opinion - also no photo booth or anything at the conclusion to at least take one memory home. Needs addressing.

I was awe struck. You have to visit for yourself. If you are a fan of Prince, you must see the ultimate fancave. I recommend the vip tour on Thursdays. You’re allowed to sing to a Prince song in the same studio he sang! HELLO?! What are you waiting for? And while you’re waiting, the staff will take your photo during the one and only photo op in the house. And that’s not offered to general ticket holders. We also played pingpong while we waited on Prince’s own pingpong table! You need buy a usb memory stick at the house for any pix they take in the studio (add’l $10 I gladly forked over). This is a once in a lifetime experience — GO!

Overall, we learned a lot on this tour. We saw his recording studio A, dance studio, film studio, “little kitchen,” office, and several movie props. Tour guides had great respect for Prince and a lot of knowledge about his story. The phones thing is true - completely locked from entry to exit, the only photo you could take would be outside, but it’s hardly picture worthy.
I know many people travel a long way to see Paisley Park, and as a huge Prince fan myself, I’d suggest that it’s not worth the trek. (Speaking only of the standard ~$40 tour.) You see quite a bit, but they save a number of rooms for the VIP tour (over $100) which feels like they’re trying to dig as deep in your pockets as they can. Given Prince’s relative financial humility and focus on artists’ rights and equality with payment from record labels, I can’t see him wishing to have adoring fans from all over the world gouged like this. Gift shop merchandise is reasonably priced, however.

In honour of His Purple Highness, this is so worth visiting. Loved it from start to end.
You see so many facets of what Prince was like.

This was a truly amazing experience! The amount of time spent in each area and the knowledge of the docent leading the tour was ideal. I was a bit under impressed with the exterior but it was a fun tour of the late, great Prince's personal playground. The history and magic that happened in that place was paramount. My biggest detractor was the lack of ability to take any pictures and actually going as far as to lock up my phone.

Did the 3 hour ultimate tour. Tomi was our guide and he was excellent. His passion for all-things Prince/Paisley Park, was evident from the start. He appears to have a long history with Prince and the entire Minneapolis music scene, and is a die hard fan. Extremely knowledgeable about Prince's entire career, the work Prince did, etc. His energy and passion made the tour so worthwhile. Im a die hard long time Prince/Time (and most of the other acts as well) fan, and it was my first time in Minneapolis. (or even Minnesota). Being AT and INSIDE Paisley Park is a surreal experience for a fan. and Minneapolis itself is a gorgeous city with so much character. For our weekend, JUST by coincidence, Morris Day & The Time were performing downtown the night of our Tour. Thanks to Tomi for letting me know as I IMMEDIATELY booked tickets as soon as we left the tour. Ended up standing front row dead center stage for the concert. Imagine seeing The Time..IN MINNEAPOLIS...in PERFECT summer night time weather, hours after being at Paisley Park. The stars could not have aligned any better. I HIGHLY recommend this tour. Not sure if you can request specific guides, but Tomi works weekends only, but he's a 10 out of 10. If I had to voice one note: There is almost zero mention of Prince's passing, and zero mention of the round building adjacent to the main building. And the entire upstairs area of Paisley is not open for the tours. Im sure there are reasons for all of this, but not sure of the reasons. Still, I cant help but give this a 5 out of 5 rating for the overall tour experience. I'd go into more details about the tour, but its not worth me giving away all of the things one should experience in person for themselves.

Definitely a place I wanted to visit while in Minneapolis. We chose the 90 minute tour, only because the others were booked. We were pleased with the tour. It was a little disappointing that more pictures couldn’t be taken, but we were aware of this when booking the tour. What a talented man. I assumed this was his primary residence, but he only lived there temporarily. This building is massive at 65,000 square feet, but you only see a small portion of it. The artists who recorded in his studio is impressive, and his own recording style was very interesting. We really enjoyed the tour and the knowledge of our guide. Nice way to spend an afternoon.

Paisley park is amazing! Being in his studios and seeing a bit of how he left things gave me a glimpse into his mind. I recorded a 40 second snippet of "7" in his Studio B and played on his table tennis set. I definitely plan to go back.

In looking for things to do in Minneapolis I definitely recommend Paisley Park. This space has captured so much of Princes eccentric style and feel. So much history and great exhibits. Tour guides are always important and I was just okay. There is no photography at Paisley park so leave your cellphone in your car, if not they are going to ask you to shut it down and put it in a locked case that they unlock for you in the end. If you can afford the VIP option take it! The General Admission group was really big and I found it hard to see some exhibits like I could have with a smaller group. If you’re a Prince fan this is a must see.

I did a tour with Carrie (I hope I got the spelling right) today and I genuinely had one of the best experiences of my life. My guide was so attentive and knowledgeable, making every moment of the tour feel personal and meaningful.
Her passion for Prince’s legacy truly shone through, and she shared so many fascinating insights and stories that brought Paisley Park to life in a way I could have never imagined.
The attention to detail throughout the tour was incredible, from the thoughtfully preserved spaces to the interactive exhibits. It was an emotional and inspiring journey that gave me a deeper appreciation for Prince’s artistry, vision, and impact on the world.
I left feeling profoundly moved and grateful for the opportunity to step into such an iconic and sacred space. Thank you, Carrie, and the entire Paisley Park team for making this experience unforgettable. I would recommend this tour to anyone—whether you’re a lifelong fan or just beginning to explore Prince’s music and legacy

What a fantastic, unique, and memorable experience getting to tour through the home of the legendary Prince. Be sure to take the VIP tour! It was incredible getting to see so much of his home and studio as well as listen to unreleased music of his found in the vault following his untimely death. So glad I was able to visit here while in Minneapolis. Be sure to book in advance as limited tickets are available for tours time and day.

Second visit to Paisley Park, it's a experience not just for those that like Prince, You get to see not only how Prince lived but also the recording studios and hiw Paisley Park has been used by various artists since it was built. Worth the money to walk in the same home and studios that such a talented person walked, worked and played.

I have always been a fan. We just bought the general tour package but could have upgraded it would have been worth it.. so much more to see next time

This was my first time to Minneapolis, MN so I had visit Paisley Park before going home. I highly recommend this tour IF you are a true Prince and pay for the VIP tour. It’s worth it. The tour guide Sara was very knowledgeable and friendly. She took her time and gave our group a prefect tour. The VIP tour does give you much more access to certain rooms, a chance to have photos taken (however on flash drive). No cellphones 📱allowed. The VIP tour does give you a light snack toward the end. Finally the gift shop is just ok. I saved a few dollars and ordered t-shirts online. The Paisley Park tour worth a visit.

A timed & guided tour of a museum was a new experience for me. In my opinion the (basic) tour is over priced. It is 1.5 hours that you must stay with your guide and group so if you don't get to read all posted placards or see all of the displays before your guide moves you along you wont be allowed to go back & there is no picture taking until the very end. You are only left alone at the very end of the tour to spend more money in the cafe and/or gift shop and again there is no backtracking so you cant catch up on what you missed at your own pace. Eighty dollars (incl. $5 insurance option) for an hour and a half and hardly any pictures is not enough time. What I did get to see - I did like, am more amazed and will remain a fan of Prince's amazing and vast body of work.

The tour was really nice, mixture of videos and memorabilia. They do lock your phone as soon as you walk in the door and they only unlock it for the last 2 rooms. Even if you aren’t a mega fan I recommend going.

Amazing. Don’t hesitate to visit even if not a prince fan. Every thing about this day was brilliant from walking inside to leaving.

We bought the Ultimate VIP Experience and it was worth the money. Both my husband and I had a good time even though he is not a Prince fan. You spent time in Studio A, B & C You got to sit in Prince's private editing room. You had his chefs cook you a light lunch that was great. If you want a greater understanding of how music is produced you will enjoy. If you are only looking for Prince's private life you will not enjoy.

Stopped here on my way to Vegas and im glad I made the detour!!! Im a huge Prince fan and I learn so much about him, as an artist and man. The tour guide was great. You can't take pictures until the end but that was OK because you were able to really enjoy the tour. There is so much history in that building !!

This is no doubt a must-see attraction. Very unique. The guide and several VIP guests were “super fans” so the experience was a little too over-the-top for my daughter (crying during the moment of silence for his death in 2016)……but we did enjoy it and would recommend it.

The special 300 pair shoe collection is worth the price of admission! It is amazing to see all the fancy custom-made shoes he wore during his many performances.
The tour is well set up and interesting. There are some video clips of his performances and many artifacts including clothes and instruments. You see the actual studio where he recorded many of his songs and other rooms where he hung out. Seeing this in person really makes you appreciate his genius whether you were a big fan or a casual one.
Wear comfortable shoes as you will be on your feet for 90 minutes. Also, it's fun to wear purple! Cell phones are secured in a packet you carry with you as no pictures are allowed until the last room of the tour.

We took the Ultimate Experience Tour, figuring that if you're going to spend money on this, and it's your only opportunity to visit, just go all out. I definitely recommend it for committed Prince fans, which we are... I am not sure if casual fans would think it was "worth it" but it definitely was for us. We loved every minute and the 3 hours went by amazingly quickly. We were treated to wonderful film clips, interviews, and of course the great music, broken down one track at a time in the Purple One's own recording studios. The final experience, entering the giant sound studio, was thrilling. A nice aspect which I didn't expect was the camaraderie that developed among the folks on the tour, all of whom shared a love for this genius who was taken from us too soon. All in all, a great experience.

My husband and I planned to take the VIP tour but it was sold out when I went to sign up so we went for the Ultimate Fan Tour instead. So glad we did. Tommy was an excellent guide, sharing stories along the way. His admiration for Prince really came through and added to the experience. It was really cool to walk through the studios and see the instruments, clothes, awards, etc. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this was so much better than I imagined it would be. The three hours flew by.

During my tour, we were told 80% of Paisley Park looks the way it did when Prince was alive.
There’s a lot to see, framed albums, Princes handwriting, outfits, instruments, videoed, cars, his office, and more.
The 80s were my era so this was a great time capsule for me. The Purple Rain room made me tear up.
If you are a Prince fan and you are ever in the Minneapolis area, go-you won’t be disappointed.
You have to get your tickets online, no tickets on site - the earlier you book, the better the price and selection of tour timeframes...& show up less than 20 min before your tour-the parking lot isn’t huge so you won’t be admitted 🙂

I’ll never ever be able to put into words what this tour was like or meant to me personally as a 54 year old who has been a Prince fan since 1980! Just go! We did the Ultimate experience and it’s beyond worth every cent!

I’ve been a huge fan since 4 forever! So I cannot fault anything about this tour.
This was my 2nd visit to PP and certainly not my last. The people who work there kind are dedicated
The DJ played most of his hits and it was awesome to just be in the place he worked, lived and played. Drinks are non alcoholic and you had a variety of food item that were from his menu(his favorite meals) If you want to see more of the house then go for the Ultimate tour or VIP tour. I did the VIP Tour last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. Got to play table tennis on his personal table tennis and a recording of me singing on one of his tracks.

Very informative tour. There’s security screening before entry. Be prepared to be without your phone until almost the end of the tour.

We visited Paisley Park as part of a family trip to Minneapolis with our 9 year old. We did the General Admission tour and enjoyed it immensely. Our daughter (who I’d say is a mature 9 year old) enjoyed the tour very much and it was just over an hour in total so it wasn’t too long for her. The experience was extraordinary and our tour guide, Corrie was warm and welcoming and did a great job. It’s a must-do experience if you are in the area. For me, it was a bucket list destination and it did not disappoint. Had we not been travelling with a child we may have done the VIP tour, but we were more than happy with the experience we had.

We took the basic 75 minute tour of Paisley Park - the former home and recording studio of Prince - and thought it was an interesting and somewhat unique experience. The tour covered the ground floor areas, including a large communal space, several former storage rooms, a kitchen/dining area, several recording studios and a huge soundstage area used for tour rehearsals. Many of the smaller rooms have been converted into simple displays, each themed around a specific Prince album or movie, whilst the larger spaces incorporate bigger exhibits such as cars or large stage props. Our guide seemed fairly knowledgeable and gave lots of factual information without hurrying us around too much. Everything is very controlled - someone even has to escort you to the toilet - presumably for security reasons, so that means you can't use your phones or cameras once inside - they have to be left in the car or put in locked pouches which are opened on exit. I should point out that the security here were all extremely polite and professional. I wouldn't classify myself as anything more than a casual Prince fan, but there was plenty here that I found interesting. However, this was the most expensive attraction we visited during our trip across ten states and I'm not sure I got as much value for money when compared to similar, cheaper attractions such the Motown Museum or Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Great tour. We decided to take the VIP tour (2 hours) due to a schedule conflict later in the day but it was awesome! The tour guide really knew his content. All our questions were answered well and made it a lot of fun to ask the questions that were not part of the tour.

I had such an amazing time! We had a group of four doing the Ultimate Experience tour. Well worth the ticket price. It was incredible to get to see part of his world and became emotional a few times during the tour. Had the most OUTSTANDING tour guide, Tommy. He was fun, friendly and you could tell he really enjoyed what he was doing. Plus, he was a huge Prince fan also. He made it even more enjoyable. You don't get to see Prince's living quarters or anything like that, so if that's what you're expecting, not going to happen. Got a photo op with The Ultimate tour and got to pose with one of his guitars while standing in front of the last piano he bought before he died. Broke my heart. Would definitely do it again. If you plan on going, try requesting Tommy for your tour guide, he's awesome!

It was all information you could get online. Nothing personal about him at all. I should look to see what Graceland charges. I know much more is offered. His death was not even mentioned. For what they charge, not worth it. Save your money and go to Graceland.0

If you find yourself in Minneapolis, then by all means, you'll want to experience this tour. During my visit in November we were confronted by "the" most rudest Barney Fife Flashlight gatekeeper of all time. If the tickets hadn't been deemed NON REFUNDABLE, I would have turned around, but others in my group sucked up his horrible attitude and we continued on. Once we bypassed this hurdle we were directed in the main entrance only to be told we were a bit too early and we would either have to wait outside in Minneapolis November weather or go to their gift shop for 20 minutes and then return. We opted for the gift shop. Once we made it to the gift shop we had to wait for a passing employee to let us in. Again, remember, it's November in Minneapolis, so it's not exactly warm. By this point we were a bit angry and were not interested in purchasing any of the over priced trinkets. Once the tour got started ( ensure to wear very comfortable shoes, you'll do a lot of walking), it was phenomenal. I nearly forgot about all the rudeness I'd endured to get to this point. Your mobile device WILL BE LOCKED away in a sturdy bag that YOU will carry during the tour. NO PICTURES until nearly the end of the tour. You will be told when to retrieve your bag for unlocking removing your mobile device for photos. Just be patient, it's worth the wait. I would visit again, but just during the warmer months and I would upgrade to the VIP experience

Highly recommend for any Prince fan💜. Was worth ever penny and would go back again. Amazing the fans coming to pay tribute

His purple highness reigns at Prince's home/studio/museum. 3 levels of tours available. We did the Ultimate. 3 hours seeing everything and hearing so much info and music about the Ultimate Sexy MF! Loved it and will be back

Amazing!! My hubby & I traveled from Ohio to tour Paisley Park & attend the Musicology concert with Meshell Ndegeocello Valentine’s Day weekend. It was an experience we will never forget. We are huge Prince fans, so this trip was on our bucket list. EVERYONE was kind & professional from when we entered @ the gate all throughout the tour and again that night for the concert. Corri was our tour guide & she was very knowledgeable, answered all questions, & seemed to be a big Prince fan herself. Just the way she spoke about him & his life & accomplishments, she seemed just as much in awe as us. She appears to have her dream job, loves it & it shows! So glad we had her as our tour guide. We did the PPE tour, next time will definitely do the VIP or Ultimate, as we will most definitely be back again. A lot of the other reviews talk about the logistics of things & are pretty accurate, so I will not. As for the concert, I’m still on cloud 9! It was so amazing. The only thing missing was Prince himself. Meshell & her band were awesome! I think Prince would be proud. He loved her, her style, & music, so for her to perform his music on his stage in his home, couldn’t have been more fitting. The DJ who kept us entertained until the show began was also very good. Some helpful info: 1) they serve alcohol during concerts, 2) our general admission ticket was just as good as the other options (not a bad seat in the house from what I could see), 3) take advantage of the shuttle they provide as it makes getting in/out so much easier & it’s included in the ticket price, 4) coat check available, 5) you’re seated for the concert. Hope that helps. This was a trip of a lifetime & we miss Prince now more than ever. There will NEVER be another like him! ❤️

I have been wanting to come to Paisley Park since the day it opened. Obviously, it was a business for many years but a fan can dream!
I went on the Ultimate Tour which is the most expensive one you can go on. But I urge anybody who is a fan to save the pennies and opt for this one.
You will get to visit all the studios and hear unreleased tracks and insights into his working processes. Hearing his vocal track in isolation on Breakdown in Studio B was incredibly moving.
A special shout out to Tommy, our tour guide. He had some great stories and was so passionate about Prince and his music.
Even if you are just a fan of music, I can't recommend this tour enough.

Such a great experience if your a fan of Prince or not, seeing what his recording studios (there are 3 of them) are like and how they were used was fascinating, you need to take the ultimate tour to take in how much work Prince put into his music and how it all works.

We experienced the VIP tour and weren’t disappointed. Being a long time Prince fan, I did get a little misty a few times. Great tour guide who was very knowledgeable and friendly. Tour is wheelchair accessible and yes you can even use a wheelchair from paisley park at no charge.

On arrival we entered through the front into a hallway that leads to the cloud painted atrium. Our guide was friendly. The first half consists of music discussion, wandering freely in a ground floor area that consisted of records and awards, small rooms with clothing and small items on display, and a film editing room. The videos lasted just a few minutes. We went through a room with Purple Rain footage and his clothes from that movie, a script behind glass, his purple motorcycle. We walked through his studios. Starting with the oldest, we learned some tidbits about his recording process, and listened to some music. There was a photo opp in the 2nd studio. The final studio was the most currently used. On the tour were his well used purple piano and the equipment box that stagehands rolled him to the stage in at concerts. We visited a huge concert area. There were 2 cars on roped display in there and some more clothing items. Then we were led to a smaller space where where he gave more intimate concerts, all the furniture still in place. Then the tour was over. You exit through a small gift shop. When I reflect on the tour it was interesting enough, but only barely. We saw only a small portion of the estate. This tour was the business side of Prince. I had hoped for bio/video of his life, candid pictures, untold stories about him, seeing some part of his residence. If Paisley Park stays as it is, it will never be place to know him on a deeper level and that's heartbreaking.

The only reason that I am giving an average review is because of what you get for the price. I paid for the ultimate vip which is 3 hours long. Traveling in from out of state I figured might as well do the whole shebang. I would have been really upset if I did one of the lesser tours and saw as little as they did. Prince was a very private person so I get why the tour was mainly focused on his music, that is just who he was in general. Having been to Graceland which is an all day affair is over half of the price PP is. Which leads me to feel its all about money. However money aside our tour guide Tomi was fantastic and had personal interactions with Prince, broke down several times and added to the experience. I didn't expect to see anything of his personal living quarters and with him not being gone all that long I don't think I would have wanted to. I appreciated what is shown on the tour and since music was his #1 priority I think it was respectful and appropriate.

The Ultimate Tour was a Christmas gift and the best one. My sister and I did the tour Saturday 2/16 and it was amazing. Tomi was our guide and gave so much in depth knowledge. He was great! I have been a fan of Prince since I was young (am almost 50) and it was humbling. Prince seemed to be such a simple man yet was so exotic when it came to his music. It at times seemed so surreal to be standing in the place where this great artist wrote, sang, played and made magic for the world to enjoy. Truly was a great experience!

Went here on the regular tour (would’ve liked the upgraded tour, but it was sold out). I enjoy Prince but not the biggest fan, and still, I found the museum captivating and intriguing. This was Prince’s recording studio and he lived here. It is surprisingly industrial looking. The regular tour is guided and 90 minutes. No pictures allowed (unless you’re on the upgraded VIP tour). There are lots of artifacts to see and stories to be told. Great to see where this musical genius worked and spent so much of his time. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Minneapolis.

Good trip. We arrived at approximately 9:15 am and made our way through the gates into Paisley Park. We booked our tickets ahead of time on their website, and they were pretty pricey- at over 50 dollars for the cheapest tour option. We were met by a security guard, who checked our tickets on our phones and told us where to park our cars. We waited outside the building for several minutes, until we were let in by a different security guard, who went over several basic instructions that we had to follow while inside Paisley Park. We were first instructed to turn off our phones, and told to put them in a locked bag that we carried on our person during the duration of the tour. We were told that if anyone was caught taking pictures inside the building, we would be escorted out and banned from the property for life. After the security guard finished his instructions, he let us into the lobby of the building, where we checked in with the front desk. The tour started promptly and the tour guide was very knowledgeable about Prince and his life. Throughout the tour, we were able to watch several short documentaries, as well as several short news media clips that featured Prince. I was able to gain more insight about his early life and how he discovered his passion for music. We were also able to tour his studio room, along with a room that featured over 300 of his custom made shoes. We toured his living room/lounge area where he frequently used to watched basketball games, as well as some rooms that featured his biggest hits and memorabilia. The tour guide did an excellent job narrating the entire tour and explaining what we were seeing in front of us. There were also several informational plaques located in front of his memorabilia that provided more insight on the importance of that particular piece. Towards the end of the tour, our phones were unlocked and we were able to enjoy a Prince concert, while also lookin at some of his memorabilia, such as several of his cars, motorcycles, outfits, and musical instruments. At the very end of the tour was a lounge area, where one could spend as much time as they wanted. There were drinks and coffee that were available for purchase, that one could enjoy in the lounge area, while listening to Prince music. There was also a small gift shop, along with bathrooms available at the exit.
Tip: The entire tour lasted roughly an hour and 45 minutes.

I took my wife here in 2018 for our anniversary and we were not disappointed! If you are fan of Prince and his music you have to take the tour. We took the tour that was a step down from the most expensive one but it was still very good and informative. It gave you a glimpse into the life of a very private individual. Growing up the child of a musician and playing music myself, you really see how talented and complex he was.
While it was exciting it was also somber. To be hit with the reality that we've lost another great musician was sad.
While on the tour my wife and I were able to meet a few people who personally knew him and the next day we met some who were his spiritual brothers and sisters. They all helped us appreciate how he just wanted to be regular, share his music, worship God and make people happy. We will be back for another visit.

I thought it was very interesting. My husband and brother in law who really aren't big Prince fans also enjoyed it. Very informative and lots to see. Lasted about an hour. No pictures or cell phones allowed

Paisley Park is a very interesting tour around the home and studio of Prince. Go for the VIP option to see much more than the basic tour.

My wife, 44, has been a Prince fan since she was a little girl. We are both huge music fans, so for her birthday I decided to surprise her with a flight from TN, a nice hotel, and tickets for the ultimate experience at Paisley Park. We were greeted at the door by a kind, young gentleman, then by the staff to check in at the counter. They gave us our passes and introduced us to our group and tour guide, Sara. So Sara loves her job and it showed the entire trip. She was very knowledgeable, kind, and enthusiastic about what she was showing us. As for the tour itself, it was a very moving experience learning more about Prince, and seeing where he created his magic and lived. It was obvious that while his place of home is now a museum of sorts, there is still a level of respect and privacy for him and his family. I will be returning with my daughters and any friends that I can get. Thank you for an unforgettable time today!

We are Minnesotans in our 70's and love much of Prince's music. I doubt there will ever be a Super Bowl half time show as impressive as his. That said, we opted for the VIP Experience and boy, did that deliver! Our tour guide, Terry (? Teri) knew everything Prince. We were lucky enough to be in a tour group of Prince aficionados from all over the US. We absorbed everything presented to us and it was magnificent and moving. To understand what a perfectionist and genius of an artist Prince was -- It's indescribable. Our group was vibing and it was palpable emotion among us. It was worth every penny!! We're so grateful that Prince was a Minnesota boy who never forgot his home and brought state of the art recording studios for current artists to use. His story is humble, sad, moving, genius, victorious and reached the height of fame. We're SO proud of Prince and his legacy will endure for many years to come!

Not what we expected. Did not get to see any of his living quarters, only studios. The tour guide, OMG! Waste of $75.00, family just making money on his place that he “sometimes” stayed! No cameras until the end, not that you needed them. Save time and money, just google!

As an 80s teen, I’m so glad I made the trip here while I was in Minneapolis for training. Thankful this has been preserved for fans of his artistry. The tour reminded me of the huge loss of talent. He was just an amazing musician. It is hard to put into words afterwards.
Very affordable tour and knowledgeable guides. My Uber was cutting it close when I was getting to the tour time and the guest services folks whisked me away just in time. The workers also held my luggage as I visited before my flight out of Minneapolis.

Very interesting to see where Prince recorded music and hosted guests. It was a very well thought out facility to build.

This basic tour was very interesting. Too see all the costumes, cars and memories was amazing. There were a lot of rules so be prepared. No cell pictures, no touching anything, do not be there more than 29 minutes ahead or you will have to leave and come back, otherwise it’s a great tour although I probably wouldn’t go again. You see pretty much with just the basic tour.

Thoroughly enjoyed the 70 minute tour. Price is $38/pp but $45 with fees that appear to be unavoidable. You are forced to turn off your phone. It is then placed in a bag that is locked and given back to you to carry. It is unlocked in the second to last room where pictures are allowed in both rooms. The waiting area and hallways are lined with the numerous awards that Prince received along with a cool mural. You see about 10 small rooms before phones are unlocked. Our guide was knowledgeable and welcomed questions. I found the tour to be interesting and informative.

Most importantly, Prince was a genius and being in his creative place was amazing!
The security guard was unnecessarily strict, loud, disrespectful, condescending, and arrogant. As long as you are ok with being yelled at & talked down to, the rest of the tour is great.
Our tour guide was the opposite- friendly, appreciative, positive- she just needed a microphone as it was hard to hear.
It was well worth the experience. We’d go back- just not sure we want to deal with the security guard’s attitude again.

I wanted to learn more about the man behind the music. The shoes and his office were cool. I guess the tour will continue to evolve. Our guide kept saying...good question. The gift shop was great but a little high. The designers could learn a litte from the Graceland tour which was self guided with a recording and a lots of personal artifacts and his grave. It was only 45 dollars. We couldn't even take photos. The folks at the beginning of the tour were very nice i.e. the ones who locked your cell phone

There are a few experiences to choose from including the Paisley Park, VIP and the Ultimate Experiences. I opted for the basic PP experience at $38. There are taxes and fees that bring the cost up to $45. As soon as you enter, you are instructed to power off your phone and then it is locked in a foam carrier. Our guide was Christian and he gave lots of great information throughout the tour.
The tour starts in the atrium which funnels into smaller rooms that include wardrobe items. There are awards lining many of the walls. About a hour into the tour and with two rooms to go, security will unlock your phone and you are able to take pics of some wardrobe, instruments and cars.
I know this is mentioned in some of the reviews but it is worth mentioning to prep people right up front.

An interesting snapshot of Prince’s home, work and life. We only did the general tour which was incredibly interesting and informative. Loved learning about the artists who inspired him and then who he inspired! His musical brilliance and talent, is evident further in his design of the studios; each instrument having it’s own room for maximum sound perfection. Very strange how his home sits right off of a major highway! Overall, Prince fans will love! And those who just k ow of him, will find fascinating!

I’m a fan of his music...well let’s say the music I was exposed to on radio, in movies and back in the days when MTV was actually about music. I’ll be honest, I’ve never bought any of his music and I watched Purple Rain for the first time a week before my visit. So it doesn’t feel right saying I’m a huge fan even tho I’m a huge admirer. I know all the words to his hits, and was fascinated that such a huge star and icon came from and remained in Minnesota. I e always been amazed that he was not just an extraordinarily talented singer, songwriter, producer, musician but everything he did was done to perfection ruin and with such a strong vision, such a his fashion. Everything he touched was art in one form or another.
Initially I thought the ticket was a tad spendy especially after basing my expectation on older photos and reviews. I believe a lot has changed since the Museum was opened. I felt it had a strong direction and told his story well, while you can only touch on such a small small part of his accomplishments in an hour. Afterwards I’d gladly pay the price to go again and feel it was well worth it.
Our guide, Betsy, was amazing! Probably the best tour guide I’ve ever encountered. She was full of knowledge! And while to date she’s probably given the same tour in and out day after day, you can tell she truly took everything to heart. Just the magnitude of being in Princes space and sharing his story wasn’t just another day at the office for her. It’s like the awe of Prince and being at Paisley Park is something that will ever leave her, and that is awesome!
Read the directions carefully. They run this operation like clockwork. It’s quite impressive. But when they say don’t arrive earlier than....whatever, don’t! Then run a lot of tours and there is limited parking space and limited space in the entrance area to hold folks til their tour time.
It was humbling to be here. I was not aware his urn was housed in the atrium and that was very emotional and humbling. To see things that meant so much to him, view his stage apparel and instruments...see his office and the recording studios where SO many hits and artists have come from was so cool. We even got to hear a clip from what he was working on at the time of his death. Such a special moment. Movie props, concert gear, awards....the list goes on. Great displays, wonderful stories. Gift shop at the end of your.
They do lock your phones and smart watches in a pouch you keep with you and are unlocked at the exit door. Strictly no photography allowed inside the facility.
If you are a Prince fan on any level this is a MUST!!!! But I believe even a music lover who may not know a lot about Princewould get a lot out of the tour...and would definitely leave a fan!!!!
RIP Prince....

This is very much a museum tour. There is very little in the way of personal information or effects. You only get to see the public spaces of Paisley Park, which is huge.
It was really interesting to see Prince's costumes, musical instruments, awards and lots and lots of photos and video clips but I guess I was expecting a bit more.
Also I found the tour really rushed. You are moved from room to room at quite a pace so there is little time to actually listen and watch the music playing. Our guide often started speaking before everyone was in a room too so you'd miss some of the information.
Other reviews have mentioned the tight security and inability to take in mobile phones or take photos so I won't dwell on that aspect.
Overall, whilst I did enjoy my visit I felt the tour was rather sterile and rushed.

Very expensive. Tour is really public areas only. You can’t take pictures. Staff not very friendly or engaging. Okay to miss this tour!

Finally a dream come true. Definitely worth a look, unfortunately you are only allowed to take photos in one place

The tour was ok but it wasn’t worth the money. The studio stuff and pictures were neat but the Afterdark was not good. It’s just a room with loud music and tables and folding chairs. Not what I expected. Also, no alcohol. Not that you have to have alcohol but when it’s a “party” it was just boring.
Also, no pictures at all so don’t expect to take them. Just not impressed.

Only a glimpse into Prince's world. Second floor is off limits. Awesome experience - wish I would have done the VIP tour.

My wife & I celebrated our birthday weekend by traveling from NJ to see all things Prince in and around Minneapolis. We capped off the weekend by taking the Ultimate Experience Tour at Paisley Park. Our tour guide, Heidi, who lives nearby did a FANTASTIC job taking us through Prince's house & museum, and she was able to add a lot of personal stories that one might not hear otherwise. It was clear that she was a huge admirer of the artist. The space itself was incredible, and even though they lock up you phones during the tour (except for the last part of the tour), those images will remain in my memory forever. Plus, for $25 you can always purchase the tour photo album (which is very well done by the way) at the end of the tour in the gift shop. Besides Heidi, everyone we met from the gatehouse guard to the receptionist who greeted us, to the other fans on our tour (there were 10 total) were all GREAT! The day prior to our tour, we visited the Electric Fetus record shop, which was certainly a highlight just to be able to browse their immense collection of vinyl, HOWEVER the Paisley Park experience is not to be outmatched. If you are just a casual Prince fan (like I was), you will come away with even greater respect for the artist and what he accomplished in his life. If you are a serious Prince fan (my wife) then you just checked off an item on your bucket list! Thank you!

I have never been a big Prince fan, but after seeing Paisley Park, I have now become a bigger fan. This place is so amazing a must see!!! I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

This was an amazing tour. I was blown away. We had the best tour guide, I think his name was Tom. It was enough to just be inside Paisley Park, but the stories he told about Prince made the tour even better. We did buy the VIP package, so that we could get our picture taken in his studio. It's pricey, but it was worth it to us. The pass also included brunch after the tour. If you are a Prince fan, this is a must see.

I went on the VIP tour with my mother and sister. Even knowing it was a guided tour, I was expecting a bit more information and a bit more opportunity to look around on our own. I really wish we were able to take pictures or get a little bit more nuanced information but overall, its nice. And how often would the average person be able to say that had been in any part of Prince's home, right?

I stayed an extra day after a seminar weekend just to visit Paisley Park. I got the VIP Ultimate Experience and, of the nine people in my group, one had come all the way from Germany just for this place. Others traveled from out of state just to be there. Each one of us had our own reasons for being there, but a love for Prince gave us a bond as we experienced this marvelous tour.
The whole experience was so moving. Our guide, Marshall, shepherded us through, telling us wonderful stories and pointing out details here and there so that we wouldn't miss a thing. We were able to see studios and practice areas and clothing and inspirational art...it was all so wonderful. At the end, we got to sit on one of Prince's couches and, after, with white-gloved hands, we got to hold one of his guitars.
The people who work there, from Marshall on forward, were incredibly gracious and welcoming. It's clear that they love Prince and take their work of keeping his memory alive to heart.
This was a beautiful experience. I've been home for 48 hours and I still find myself tearing up on occasion when I think about it. The world lost Prince far too soon.
How lucky that Paisley Park is open for tours, and how fortunate that such kind, humble, and good-hearted people are there to keep the doors open for all of us.

Currently, in the time of covid, this is the only museum open in Minnesota. They are adhering to protocols to help it stay open. They really do not affect the quality of the visit.
Advance purchase of timed tickets are required. There are locations that have spots marked for people to stand like in the entry. A great deal of the guests can wander and enjoy exhibits. The group movies through several rooms with plenty of time for viewing.
Cell phones are placed in a sanitized pouch at the beginning of the tour and released later in the tour where photos are allowed. This policy has been in effect for less than a year and is a nice addition.
Interesting tour.

Just like the song says, Paisley Park is in your heart. It will forever be in mine. This was the most amazing experience of my life. I had goosebumps from the moment I went inside. Prince is definitely still there watching over everything, you can feel him. I will definitely be back. It is a must-see for any Prince fan

You would be remiss if you travelled to Minneapolis and did not visit Paisley Park. It's definitely an experience. Even for a casual fan, it makes you appreciate Prince's artistry and influence (and unique sense of style). For those complaining that it's pricey, I paid $50 for the GA and was more than satisfied. And for those complaining even more that they can't take photos, I respect that; I prefer to listen to the tour guide and not distract myself taking photos. Plus, if you see photos everywhere online, it would diminish the whole thing.
One thing that's difficult is if you don't have a car, you will have to take a car service there; it is not accessible by public transportation. I took a car from downtown (and paid more than I'd care to admit) but you could probably travel by light rail closer, then take a car from there.

Took VIP tour , definitely worth going to, whether you’re a big Prince fan or not, lots of great memorabilia and in site to a Great Artist.

I waited five years before going and was expecting it to be more touristy. Most of the building is still as Prince left it except for the displays of clothing, motorcycles, and cars. Lots of videos and music and nice to see and hear the pair of doves that still live on the 2nd floor.

I defy anyone not to enjoy this tour. Even if you're not a big Prince fan, it's so well presented and guided that the experience is just a pure pleasure. I'm a Mpls native who regularly brings out-of-towners to Paisley, and to a person they love it. I mean, Paisley Park is a fascinating, weird place -- part timeless, part 1980s time capsule. And the spirit of Prince remains here, particularly in the facility's signature studio where Prince not only recorded much of his iconic music but other well-known artists (among the the world's biggest) have recorded. It radiates history. Paisley Park also has a semi-permanent -- and very satisfying -- feature showcasing about 300 pair of Prince's custom-made shoes. But what's really, really great about it is that the people who seek employment as Paisley Park guides REALLY LOVE Prince. They want to share their affection and respect for him and truly see themselves as guardians of his legacy. The sincerity and knowledge of the staff at Paisley Park are just remarkable. These people really, truly give Prince his due. I recommend taking the basic, hour-and-a-half tour unless you're a hardcore fan. It's the perfect length. Kids won't get bored, nor will any adults. Honestly, I can't say enough about it.

I as a huge prince fan visited in September and did the v.i.p experience. It is a massive eye opening experience and really humbling. It was so amazing. The Staff are very professional, helpful and friendly. I stayed downtown on my trip to Minneapolis and just used an Uber to get the chanhassen it cost are $15.
After make sure you walk around the front of the building and you will find the prince graffiti tunnel.

So you can't take pictures of yourself on that amazing bike (or anywhere else, for that matter). And you don't get to see the residence. That's all there is to whine about because the tour is FANTASTIC! For GenXers who had their first kiss under some purple rain while driving that little red corvette partying like it's 1999... You don't want to miss this! Let's go Crazy!

Paisley Park feels like Dunder Mifflin with some recording studios and long-stay parking, attached. It's surprisingly unsophisticated in many ways as a building -- his office, the kitchen, common parts. And that says a lot about Prince, probably to his credit. But people are now coming for something else... a biographical experience, to feel, to sense, to leave with deeper understanding of the man that you can only get as a result of making the journey. Museums that deliver this are deeply impressive creative endeavours, and it feels like the Paisley Park creativity died with Prince. What's on offer is a lazy and unpoetic glimpse. It could be fun, and raucous, and evocative. And yet, it misfires totally... feeling like little more than an after hours visit when the cleaners are in.
As museum experiences go, the Paisley Park tour has none of the finesse and perfectionism Prince evidently insisted on in life. It's a hastily assembled cynical product, which is inexplicably exorbitant at $48/85/160 depending on duration and access -- a high cost which makes it inaccessible to many.
The tour was narrated by a woman that talked with the personality and elan of a self-service check-out machine in a supermarket. There are badly-made boring YouTube-grade videos throughout, which they make you sit down and watch. The sound is generally terrible -- for no good reason. In Studio A, they play you an 'unheard' Prince track on some PMC BB6's. These are spectacular $125,000 studio monitors and the source audio is awful and therefore the sound is awful. Same in the shoe room (ceiling speakers). Same in the dance studio (mobile disco JBLs). Same in the sound stage, which needs a completely different audio treatment for only 20 visitors.
There is an upside to no cellphones/cameras, but the trade-off is a tedious moment when the guide offers everyone the 'unique and exclusive photo opportunity'. Total nonsense. Time is wasted as guests watch each other pose awkwardly for a photo between a purple Yamaha piano (that he never used) and a poster, handing the guide your USB stick (in 2022), being asked to say '1-2-Prince'. So tacky. For the mega price, let people take photos of whatever they want. The faux-secrecy is delusional and pointless.
Talking of faux secrecy, there was no access or description of the living quarters. This is what people want to know. Photos aren't hard to find online, so open the doors.
The tour is a lost opportunity, and it was very very frustrating to witness.
With a really experienced sound engineer -- and hello, this is a recording complex -- and in the hands of a creative museum designer, this experience could and should exude the kind of poetry and emotion telling the life story of such an eccentric and gifted musician. Nothing about this hastily assembled product resonates with Prince's standards.
It could be so much better.

This was a very disappointing tour. The gentleman who greeted us was quite condescending and obsessed about our phones and watches and treated us like children. The next employee that met us was dismissive and the tour guide was no different. The exhibits were interesting and clearly he was a very talented musician but the treatment you receive gives you a feeling of disappointment / dismay. I would never go again. It is too bad because this really has an opportunity to be special.

took the VIP tour (ultimate experience was sold out on the day we wanted to go) and it was super informative and amazing to walk in the spaces that Prince once walked through. His costumes were on display and the little nuances of the details were explained by the guide. Would return for the Ultimate tour and the after dark tour.

Did the Ultimate Tour. So fun, so fulfilling. It felt so amazing to be around people who feel the love of Prince as much as you. Tommy was our guide. Sweet and passionate. Thank you!

We visited Paisley Park in late September. The tour was wonderful and our tour guide did an outstanding job. Although we were not big fans of Prince, we learned so much about him that was very interesting. He was a true perfectionist and believed very deeply in his values. You see many of his awards, outfits, life-size photos, record albums and much more. You get to listen to some of his music and see videos of him. We really enjoyed visiting several of his recording studios. The large studio is where he use to have many of his parties, You gain a tremendous amount of respect for Prince as you tour Paisley Park. I was not that excited about taking this tour. However, when we were finished, I was so glad that I did. It was extremely interesting, informative and fun. You cannot take photos and they even lock up your phones during the tour. The gift shop was excellent. As you shopped, you could watch Prince's performance at halftime at the Super Bowl in Miami Gardens. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience and I would highly recommend the tour even if you are not a huge Prince fan.

Me and my daughter were lucky to have Josh as our tour guide, we were the only ones in the group so even better. Josh was amazing, had such deep respect for Prince. We stood in silence to remember such a great artist before the tour began. Very moving experience being in his home, a place he loved to be. There is so much to see, from his clothes, guitars, awards and much more. We went on the VIP tour, so were lucky to have our photos taken in one of the rooms. This tour is something you must do when in Minneapolis. I hope I will be able to return again some day, amazing! Thank you Josh!

I did the VIP experience and it is a long and detailed experience that ends with a meal. Every moment even the most fanatic Prince fan will learn more about The Lengend. You will also learn why the meal at the end is not all that great.

Interesting tour for Prince fans. An up close look at Paisley Park with original decor and awards displayed. The tour gives you access to view his personal office and recording studio spaces along with a display of many of his custom shoes. The staff is very friendly. Be aware that photography is not allowed in most areas of the tour per Prince’s wishes. You can keep your phone with you but it must be powered off and is put into a secure case where you cannot access it.

I confess: I'm listening to "I Wanna Be Your Lover" while composing this review. I want to make sure my mind is in the right space.
My wife and I booked the first General Admission tour (10:10 a.m.) for July 2. It was beautiful to be in a tour group with people visiting from all over the country and world. I won't give a bunch of details and spoil it for those of you reading who haven't visited but are interested and may be planning your trip. I will say this: you can feel his presence when watching footage of him in his "Wow Room." You'll understand why it's the "Wow Room" when you visit. For those complaining about the cell phone restriction, I found it very refreshing. Live in the moment for once! My wife and I agreed that it would have taken away from our experience if everyone was trying to capture images on their phones, standing in the middle of exhibits, getting in the way, bumping into each other for that "perfect" pose, etc. Enjoy Paisley Park's peace and tranquility and respect the wishes of one of the greatest artists that ever graced this planet and gave us so much - both in life and after his passing. You'll be a-ight.

If you are taking a trip to Minneapolis for the weekend it is at least something you need to see once. I do agree with others that I think it is overpriced for what you see. General admission is basically the first floor, no living quarters.
I think it would be nice to take pictures like you can at Graceland but it’s a rule so respect it.
Our guide was a very young girl who knew a lot about him and grew up in the area. I thought it was pretty cool to have someone so young appreciate his music. At times it was difficult to hear her with the music on as well.
In the gift shop were two desserts that were made by his personal chef and two desserts that were Prince’s favorite. We bought the cowboy cookie-pretty tasty!! There is a menu and we were told you could order something off of it but the girl at the desk told us they are closing the kitchen which probably affects the VIP in the future. And one of the rooms you could see VIP set up at some tables where they must get some food of some sort and hang out in one of the rooms.
Of course I had to buy an expensive T-shirt and they had a pretty cool purple scarf that I bought as well.

I am an ultimate Prince fan and have been wanting to visit Paisley for some time. It was very cool and nice, but I expected more. All that we saw was the same thing he showed on Oprah all those years ago. We paid for the ultimate experience. The only thing we got extra was to take a picture with one of his guitars and hang out in the room. We also were able to hangout where Prince would perform most of his shows, but it was entirely in the dark!

I have to say that I was so excited to visit and we booked the vip tickets for a long weekend before a work conference. Days before our trip, we both got covid and had to stay home. When I reached out to ask what our options were, I was told to select different dates. I don't have different dates as I don't know when we will travel to that area. As of now, I have no resolution- a credit or a refund.
Buy your tickets at your own risk! If something unplanned happens, they will pocket your money and not have a care in the world!

Wife & I took a VIP tour with Capt Rick and I must say he was top notch. Very informative, helped with taking pics and went out his way to make us feel very comfortable. Ty for the tour & hospitality. Would recommend to all!

A must for every Prince fan if you lucky enough to be in area. We did the VIP tour and was worth every penny. Seen and learned loads. A dream come true for me. A bit out the way but a taxi ride worth it. However we stayed in Minneapolis which is approx 35/40 min drive away and because of our tour time wasn't sure a Lyft/Uber would get me there on time as it gave me a pick up time of over 30 minutes wait - so we went by normal taxi and it cost us $80 but on way back we waited on Lyft/Uber and only cost $30. So be travel prepared.

We took the regular tour. We rolled in a half hour too early, and the friendly woman at the door directed us to the gift shop for a pretour browse. Nice gift shop, with fun souvenirs at a variety of price points. The staff is very attentive, and even prompted us to head back to the main entrance in plenty of time for our tour. Once inside, you turn your phones off and they're locked in Yondr bags for most of the tour. (You do get to take photos once you get to the party rooms.) Although we were part of a very large group, our tour guide Josh was easy to hear, and welcomed questions and comnents from the group. The building itself is not just a great collection of memorabilia, costumes, and instruments, it's a surprisingly touching look into the complex and talented man behind all that music. The staff seems almost reverent in the way they smoothly and calmly move people through the building on the tour. It was a great way to spend our afternoon, saturated in Prince's work and world.

I travelled all the way to Minneapolis to see Paisley Park. As a tourist I did not have wi fi access so I was unaware that you had to buy tickets online? The US is not completely with fi connected so it is unreasonable to think that I would know this! I organised a very expensive Uber and arrived to be met my the most obnoxious and rude Man at the gate. I asked him for understanding and help and he literally said “get off the property” this is a tourist attraction and I was treated like I was trying to break in??? In tears I asked him to call his supervisor and he downright refused! I came to Minneapolis just for this .... we all make mistakes but surely some understanding of this could be had??? He literally told me repeatedly to get off the property as it was private?? This is meant to be a tourist attraction ????

Very informative and beautiful to see Prince’s artistic life. The tour guide was very professional and friendly. Loved that we got to see all his different recording studios and shoes!

This is a must see for ALL music fans as Prince played so many genres. The tour is very organized and takes about 90 minutes, I never felt rushed. The shoe exhibit was absolutely stunning, especially seeing the designs and the videos of the shoe designers discussing the process.
There is a café at the end with cozy seating and a barista, so we enjoyed a coffee and sat and discussed the genius of Prince. What a legendary place!

"WORLD" go visit Paisley Park! "Prince" siblings are "DEFINITELY" keeping the legacy of their brother "ALIVE" do you hear what I say... GO! it's a Job WELL DONE! My two girls and I, did the "Paisley Park After Dark" tour which includes GA and attendance to "Prince" NGP Music Club Room. Words alone "CAN NOT" describe the feeling I felt inside of Paisley Park. "Prince" presence was with me the ENTIRE time. To see his family left things as they were before his passing is a BLESSING and BEAUTIFUL thing to do. Beside attending "Prince" concert home in Chicago, this was the "BEST" experience in my life!

To enter it feels like you are entering a secure government facility or something. Security guards everywhere and you can’t enter until the tour starts. Then you have to turn off your cellphone and they put it into a pouch and lock it. You keep the pouch with you , but this ensures that you will not be taking pictures or videos. This was very upsetting to me. Even Graceland allows pictures to be taken. So I was a little put off the entire tour because we were seeing amazing things but couldn’t take pictures. However, at the end of the tour they take you into his sound stage room and club and they unlock your cellphones and you are then allowed to take pictures and videos. There are a few things to photograph, but nothing like the rest of the house. I believe that my experience would have been better had they told us that they would be unlocking our phones in the last 2 rooms and we would get to take some pics and videos. Then I would not have been so mad about it. I think it could be handled differently to make the experience more pleasant. But... it was a good bit to see and cool to be where Prince once lived. I would have liked to have learned more about Princes personal life. Like his birth, childhood, etc etc . This was more about princes business

My husband surprised me with The Ultimate Experience at Paisley Park. We live in KY and made the long drive out this past weekend. We are very much Prince fans. In fact, our first dance as a married couple 31 years ago was to Adore. I believe Prince to be a musical genius, one of the best guitarists to ever play, and what a showman!! It was so hard when we got the news of his passing. Having said all that, I was overcome with emotion just pulling up to the building and seeing the symbol out front. The tour was 3 hours (16 people in our group), but it was never boring or long. I could have stayed a lot longer. We got to see and hear so much thanks to our wonderful guide Tommy. He was a wealth of knowledge. I loved hearing his personal stories of experiences he had with Prince during his life. Made the tour that much more special! The sights, sounds, and overall experience was one I will never forget. And yes, I would do it all over again if given the chance! #Paisleypark #Prince

Although he was at his peak during my era, I was never a Prince fan. I thought he was weird. But, I did like a few of his songs (Purple Rain, Little Red Corvette, When Doves Cry, Raspberry Beret and Darling Nikki).
But, while in the area, why NOT go visit?
I had NO IDEA about Prince's brilliant musical talent and mind!
The "house" doesn't look like a house at all, and doesn't have a very home-y feel. But, in this context, it makes complete sense.
Our tour guide, Margot, was obviously a huge Prince fan and made the tour more memorable.
I literally got goose bumps when I went into the recording studio.
I left still thinking Prince was a little odd, but have an all-new respect for him.
Wish the gift shop would have had more things to purchase, specifically postcards or a photo book of the house.

My husband and I did this tour in July. Our guide was super knowledgeable sharing stories and facts about Prince's work and life. We got the added bonus of seeing the room of shoes which was quite amazing. Would recommend.

Me and my hubby loved Prince when he was alive and now he’s gone it was so surreal that we were st his compound . It was so beautiful and my heart was so full of his creativity and what he gave us his self . Prince was a genius and the tour and his paisley park proved just that!! You gotta make a trip there !!!

Decided to just go to gift store as other reviewers noted that photos and paces to see are vey limited. Growing up in the area Prince was an icon that put the area on the map in the 80’s. Now that he’s gone the music lives on but I’m not sure I’d make a special trip here unless there are some major upgrades to the tour and access for photos (I always assume anywhere that prohibits photos does so because there is little to see…think of other museums intended world that pack people in and may restrict flash photography but let you take all the pics you want).

This was a very emotional tour for me, it was a privilege to tour the home of such a cherished artist. Seeing all of the awards, his office, the personal rooms, the recording studio, the videos, etc. was great and I appreciated that the tour guides led small groups of 20-25 people though in reserved time groups. We took the general tour which lasted about 1.5 hours. The personalized tour was amazing and I think that every Prince fan should visit this place.
Afterwards we walked down the walkway in front to see a memorial fence where fans had left many gifts, trinkets and pictures. If you continue walking you come to a "graffiti bridge" where fans have continued to draw and write notes to Prince. All beautiful.

My favourite thing about this experience was, Everything 💜 i’m so glad now that they’ve changed it to take more pictures.

Overall experience 20/10!!!!
Price-I feel it was worth it!!!
lenght of visit-worth the price you pay
atmosphere-clean and comfortable
staff-Awesome

Would have been better if security weren’t jerks. It’s interesting to see a very small glimpse at the business area of Paisley Park. Absolutely no glimpse on the personal side of Prince. The guide was nice and answered questions but the security… wow. Not only the gate security but the cell phone/rule advisor were absolute power tripping a holes. Whomever is in charge of staffing needs to reevaluate if this is what you want the initial impression and takeaway of Paisley Park is.

We started our date night touring Paisley Park. So much fun! Even if you only know a handful of Prince songs, you’ll appreciate the tour. Fun, informative, and fascinating!

Words cannot describe the heartfelt and joyful experience of being surrounded and completely engaged in all of Prince.
You MUST go and have the ultimate experience. Our tour guide grew up there and had her own wonderful experiences to share.

My family took the General Admission tours in March of 2018. It was well-done and well worth the admission price, but we hope to return to take the Ultimate Experience Tour next.

I am not a huge Prince fn but this place is fascinating! You get a really good look into how Prince created his music and movies. Our guide, Marshall was great and very informed. He answered all of my questions about Prince and the items on display. It is a must do even for those who aren't huge fans!

This was an amazing experience and something I would highly recommend if you are a Prince fan. It was pretty incredible to see where Prince recorded his music and hear about the history of Paisley Park and Prince’s musical journey. I liked seeing his costumes and his vast shoe collection. We also saw his guitars and his purple piano, which was awesome. We were not able to take pictures, until we made it to the area where he put in performances, and the cafe. They were pretty strict about turning off your phone and not taking pictures, but I understood why. Our tour guide was amazing - I wish I could remember her name. Take some $$$ for the gift shop, because it’s a bit pricey. Overall, it was an amazing experience. Make sure and buy tickets ahead of time, because I don’t think you can buy them at the museum.

If you are a true fan, the experience is priceless! We did 3 hour ultimate experience. Staff was knowledgeable and accommodating. Be sure to adhere to security protocols to avoid tour interruption!

If you are a prince fan, truly satisfying tour.
Seems little over top to turn phone off and put unsealed pouch. Doesn’t stop you from buying merch and there are plenty of pictures on the internet. Fact selfies could excite more people to attend.
Also suggest with today’s technology provide better multi sensory experience, like having a 3D hologram of prince performing?

This place is amazing. I did not know what to expect when I was gifted with a ticket to the Ultimate Experience. Like so many others, I am a fan of Prince. His music helped shaped my life as an '80's teenager. This museum is such a wonderful testament to his life and his music. The exhibits were well organized and our guide was extremely knowledgeable. It was like being in a dream, the colors and all of the imagery. I highly recommend Paisley Park as a go-to attraction.

I waited two years to go to Paisley park and travelled from N ireland quite a distance. We arrived at paisley park for the VIP tour. As soon as we arrived we were treated like children with a very uptight guy. Our tour guide was called Ross a very uptight guy who promised to let us know which room had been changed and which room had not, he did not. I think he was under the impression we were interested in talk8ng about his mother etc. I had noticed that he kept looking at his watch we were all rushed around from room to room very dissatisfied with the tour. The place had no atmosphere and the staff hanging around looked shady . I could not understand why cotton wool was on the ceiling all in all I don't think prince would approve. We finished out tour early rushed in and out come on paisley park not good enough

If you love Prince or just music in general, this is a do not miss (even if you’re traveling through the area). You can’t take pictures through the majority of the museum (they even lock your phone in one of those special pouches. As per Prince’s wishes). They allow you to take pictures towards the end. It talks about his early career, his impact on the industry, his knack for fashion (let’s get some SHOES!), and his collaborations. It doesn’t cover his early days or his final days. It’s a do not miss!

During our stay in Minnesota we decided to drive over to Paisley Park in Chanhassen, MN to visit the home and studio of singer Prince. We wont make this a spoiler by any means so we will just say that this is a must see tour of this site for any fan. Brochures can be found around the area for times and dates. All of us really enjoyed this visit.

If you love him already you should go. It will confirm every positive uplifting exciting fun experience he ever gave you. It's huge but intimate. His purpose and creativity apparent in every room, in every detail. If you aren't a fan particularly, I feel you will be surprised, inspired and a fan/friend of his when you leave. I learned excellence from his passion.

If you are Prince fan and if you are in the Minnesota area, you must stop here. The things that I learned about Prine's life was amazing. There are photo restricted areas, but you still get to see so much: the shoe room, the guitar room, and the recording studio. You must check your cell phone and cameras when you enter the building, but they are returned to you near the end of the tour, so you can take pictures. Standing in concert area, watching videos of Prince, and seeing authentic memorabilia was fantastic. You can't help singing and doing a little dancing. GO! GO! GO1

Prince was the soundtrack of high school for me and my friends. My best girlfriend and I flew in from two different states to tour Paisley Park together, and we were not disappointed.
Knowing this was our one shot, we booked the 3-hour Ultimate Experience. It was awesome. Now, I say this as a Prince fan since cassette days.
Our tour guide Josh was incredible. He was knowledgeable, patient, enthusiastic and encouraging. Tips aren't allowed, but I would have given him extra. He didn't laugh or frown when various tour members would start dancing, but instead he joined us in our enjoyment.
We knew in advance we couldn't take pictures, but it was still a bummer not to have images of what we saw. The Ultimate group got to hold one of Prince's Cloud guitars (with white gloves, of course.) -- that should have been a photo they put on the thumb drive they gave us. What we got was a posed photo in front of a giant portrait of Prince in one of the recording studios.
We heard music, saw wardrobes, awards, memorabilia, cars, furniture, art -- and of course Paisley Park itself, which is a reflection of Prince. The guide had intimate stories for every tour stop. In the black light room, for example, they played the clip of Prince telling Oprah this was his favorite room. We left wanting more and loving every minute.
The gift shop was a little disappointing. They had a larger selection at the Prince store at the airport, and that one sold Prince's music, which seems more important than the Tshirts.
Afterwards be sure to check out the fan-made "graffiti bridge" that crosses under the highway in front of the building.
"Picturing Prince" by Paisley Park art director Steve Parke is a nice companion to this tour. Most of the 50 vignettes mention a place or object you see in the Ultimate tour.

You get to see a glimpse of the main floor of the property. A few guitars a few costumes a few cars. What’s really amazing are his studios and just being in the space itself. As a MPG music club former member you instantly recognize the spaces.
We got the Sunday “VIP” level tour. Our tour guide, Josh. Did a good job. The tour seems rushed. There are groups in front and behind you. I wanted to really look at things well and take time, but it’s not enough.
..
I had so many questions after the fact but didn’t have time to ask them. This is for the “fan” not the “fam” . Don’t go looking for insight. Don’t go looking for answers. Go to get a glance of where he worked and played. Go to see a little memorabilia.
You don’t go upstairs or downstairs. you don’t go to the Egg. You do however get fed a less than mediocre “brunch” . It was inedible.
No photos. I get it. I respect it. You can pay $10 for a usb to get a photo one of the studios. Just a thought. This should be included with the price of admission. Maybe with one cool track on it too. Everyone likes to go away with something. I left through the gift shop kinda sad....This would be a cheap simple way to send folks off. Prince would approve. Skip the uncooked potato, cold eggs and Nutella ...Prince would not approve
Not sure how Prince would view how his incredible Paisley Park is being shared.

We did the VIP tour, it was well worth it. We enjoyed the tour, a lot of information, Prince was an amazing artist. You got to see and hear a lot of interesting things.

First, you can’t take any pics whatsoeverwhich is irritating. You are able to at Graceland, I don’t see a difference. You don’t get to see any personal spaces at all. I understand some spots like his bedroom but no living spaces at all?
Second, I bought 10 tickets for my friends and I, 3 of them were unable to attend because of very severe weather, including a tornado warning. I knew I wouldn’t get their money back for the tickets, but under the circumstances, I asked if it was possible to get vouchers or something so they could come at a later date. The women I spoke to at the door was very nice, took their names, and said she would give them to someone but also said to email paisley park and this is their response:
Very sorry, but there is no way for us to transfer the tickets or break 3
of them out for a credit....
---
Sincerely,
Paisley Park Team
Complete BS. All of MN was having severe weather, particularly southern MN where my friends were coming from. It’s pretty disgusting they couldn’t have offered vouchers even during specific times like slower times or days. As Prince sang, “you sexy mother f*****” —replace that with greedy!

Having read some of the reviews of the general admission tour here, after seeing a few rooms and Prince's studio, I expected the tour to be over-- but there was so much more! Rooms dedicated to his movies, costumes, guitars, awards and accolades, motorcycles and cars, iconic photographs and many more surprises are included, as well as much information about the man and his music. I am a huge Prince fan, but even for casual fans this is a must-do experience if you are in the area. In keeping with other reviewers I won't share any spoilers, but I can say that for me I would have walked away happy if I had paid twice the price of admission. Uber from downtown Minneapolis was about $30 each way. The gift shop also has a nice variety of items in all price ranges, including samples of Prince's favorite vegan snacks. Yes, they lock up your phone, (our tour guide said Prince didn't have a cell phone), but it makes the visit more "in the moment". I hope to visit again and bring friends and family-- this is a fine tribute to the legend we lost too soon.

If you have listened to the radio at all since, say, 1984, you're familiar with Prince's iconic musical, fashion and lifestyle/business-style flair for the spectacular. Admitting that Prince' ways may not be for everyone, it is easy to forget how much of a trailblazer he truly was. Paisley Park - his recording studio, his museum AND his private residence - is an homage to his amazing career. If you're any level of music fan, it's worth the time and worth at least the base-level tour, and if you're a super fan, splurge for the VIP treatment (Thursdays are the best days... see below).
A couple of quick notes: there is no place to sit, no drinks or food allowed, no restrooms until the very end (by the gift shop). Come prepared and undistracted. Prince' ethos and brand have been carefully cultivated and remain almost sacred. Leave your camera in the car (you won't be allowed in), and be prepared to surrender your cell phone - it will be placed in a locked, EM proof bag and given back to you (they'll unlock the bag after the end of the tour). There are no exceptions no matter how loudly you complain (as someone in my visiting group did). Abide by the rules. Period.
Your tour guides are perfect evangelists of Prince' ethos. Our guide - Betsy - was a compelling story teller and wonderful hostess. She explained some of the mysterious things about him and pointed out the incredible detail, passion and freneticism that typified Prince' work. Prince wrote volumes and volumes of music (most of it unreleased), designed his wardrobes, his album art, wrote his own scripts (figuratively AND literally) and you'll get to see props, outfits, guitars and memorabilia from his career. The guitar Apollonia gave him in Purple Rain? You'll see it. His Oscars and Grammys and other awards? You'll be within inches of them.
Prince lived on the upper floors and the docent will tell stories of Prince "wandering down to the "Little kitchen" to make popcorn and relax under the skylights. They'll point out where he would lounge around, relaxed in his own home. They'll tell you that in his later years, when he owned his brand A-to-Z, he would occasionally drop in on unsuspecting visitors, welcoming folks personally into his house.
Having now learned a bit about the guy... I believe it.
There are three crown jewels of this tour: #1 His studios - his state-of-the-art facilities were used by many mainstream artists to cut music and presided or sat in on almost all of it (you'll be amazed where and how he did all the vocals and keyboards); the decor, the "feel" and the ambiance is... stunning; #2 His Soundstage - Paisley is built around a 15Ksqft performing venue where he shot most of his music videos and where hundreds could enjoy his concerts and his vibe (it is now partially filled with costumes, instruments, and, notably, his cars, backed by a giant video wall of his concert footage) He gave his very last public performance on the stage you can touch and feel; #3 - his presence. Prince' untimely and tragic death is acknowledged, yes, but his life is celebrated and spotlighted. Prince believe in the power of creativity, of art, of music and of the power of the human spirit to be better than we are. His life and his art are celebrated and you'll leave feeling you've gotten to know the enigmatic man a little better. I liked some of his music, but don't consider myself a super fan at all. There were people in my group in tears. It's that type of thing.
For anyone that has heard his music, the tour is worth the drive and the wait; for his bigger fans, however - for the folks to whom his music more deeply spoke - this is a required pilgrimage and a borderline spiritual experience.

We arrived and were told we must give up our phones and have them locked in a cell phone bag. TheyMy son, age 11. Is Type 1 Diabetic. He wears a Contiguous Glucose Monitor (CGM) that tracks his blood glucose constantly. His phone, with its CGM app, is the way we monitor his levels to keep him from going into diabetic ketoacidosis or hypoglycemia, both risks he contends with on a daily basis. In this, his first trip after he nearly died of ketoacidosis and was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, we experienced his worst day with diabetes. Right in front of all the other ticket holders, we were told we must give up his phone. When we said he has a disability protected by the Americans with Disabilities Act and needed his phone, he was asked f he was feeling okay and that he should just lock up his phone, a medical device, during the tour. The idiot who said this then said he lost a bunch of weight so that he would not become diabetic and my son would be okay. Your tour guides should not be handing out medical advice, thanks.
I asked for our money back and the rude woman at the counter asked if we had insurance. I said no, they were violating our child’s ADA rights and we couldn’t stay as his need for accommodation was being violated. This place is all about making money. Isn’t everyone deserving of respect and accommodation for their disability? Well, you won’t find accommodations here. I wonder how they treat folks with visible disabilities?

Unfortunately, you can't take photos inside, but the views and experience were amazing. The tour included viewing several recording studios, private office, car collection, all his awards, guitar collection, various costumes from his movies, and so much more. We were able to record a song with Prince as our backup, great experience. Every true Prince fan needs to experience Paisley Park. I have a greater appreciation for his career and what he did to help other artists advance their careers. I pray the family doesn't close this place, it's amazing and should be experienced by future generations.

So awesome to see the studios , nightclub and all the movie memorabilia ,all Princes’ awards. Great merchandise to purchase.

Visited Paisley Park and as a Prince fam it is the ultimate experience, over 3 hours walking around the home of the greatest musician time has experienced. You view the studios his music was recorded in you see the outfits worn on tours, video clips and you get to hold his Bass guitar, which is a rarity as he's not really known for playing Bass, you see what his life was like inside his home, well worth every penny.
This is x must see for everyone that likes music not just Fans of Prince.

We purchased 7 tickets with insurance for family members to attend. 2 family members became ill and unable to travel. One had emergency gallbladder surgery, other had severe vestibular migraine which causes weeks of vertigo and a month to see a Neurologist. There is no way to talk to a customer service person to ask questions. Everything has to be done online. We submitted a request and they sent an automated reply that “They require supporting documents from doctors” and will do everything to make it impossible to get a refund. No option to talk to a real person. We have read online reviews about the insurance and everyone had the same problem. We are now out $650. What a scam. Will never purchase tickets through their online Paisley Park.

This is a magical place for fans or non-fans alike of the iconic Prince! I have visited twice per year since 2017, and still find something new each time!
To really know the depth of his talents and contributions to music, this is a must see adventure! This 65,000 sf facility is home to the history and legacy of Minnesota’s favorite son! Can’t wait to visit in 2026!

many things I was not aware of about Prince and i live in the Twin Cities. The many awards he won was astounding. Being able to stand in the recording areas that so many great artists worked in was awesome. Very good guide who knew her stuff and was very personable. I would recommend it to any Prince fan or even someone just interested in how great music was made, locally in the Minneapolis area over many years!

Did the Paisley Park Experience tour and I did not have a dry eye throughout. The care put into the exhibits felt like how you’d think Prince would have wanted it to be. It truly honoured the kind and gentle soul that he had that touched millions. Margo did a great job guiding our group around and I gotta give a shout out to Mark the guard at the entry to PP! I came back around to get a photo of the symbolized gates after the tour and he started telling me about plans to hopefully rename the highway after Prince and other plans they have for the community around PP. Prince left behind a legacy for us all to enjoy and educate others with! Thank you thank you thank you

My boyfriend and I visited Paisley Park and it was pretty cool. The tour guide, Christian, was awesome. He was so enthusiastic and knew lots of cool info, was able to answer everyone's questions. We bought the lower priced tour ($40)and it was about 75-90 minutes long. You basically get to see the downstairs. I was happy with that, considering the VIP price was over $100. I was disappointed that not only can you not take any photos (i get that part) but I thought for sure they would give you an opportunity at the end to purchase a photo somehow? But nope. So you get pics outside with the building haha. I believe you get some pics with the VIP price.
From what I read on line, the management is changing in October so maybe they'll make some changes to that.
Oh, and you can only arrive/park on prem 20 minutes prior to your scheduled tour.
I would say it was worth the 40 bucks, and that guide was super cool... He deserves a raise.

We are Prince fans, but even more so after the tour. You learn so many things that happened behind the scenes. The building itself is a very nice tribute with neat murals. Everything is well maintained. Tour was informative and nicely paced. Plenty of time to look around. We just wish we could have seen more of the building.
We would highly recommend the VIP tour.

Paisley Park was worth seeing. The guide not only knew about everything she was showing us, but had actually attended some of Prince's last minute parties. It was interesting hearing first hand from someone that was actually at a Prince party. It was well worth the money. Even my fifteen year old grandson enjoyed it. Next time we will take the VIP tour. The general tour was awesome, I can't imagine what the VIP will be like.

OMG!!!!!
To be in the home of Prince and his studios (VIP Experience Ticket) was AMAZING!!!!! The tour was 3 hours and we enjoyed every second. Each room…each studio…each hall was a new surprise! Phones are collected and redistributed for the photo section (large studio). We took a picture holding a guitar Prince played. Prince’s favorite dessert, cheesecake, was so good. Purchase a slice and eat it in his club area. AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!
Must see/do!!!!💜🎸

We had a great general tour at Paisley Park. The staff was really nice and knowledgeable. You can't take pictures but the experience of being where Prince lived and created music was amazing.

Wow, what an amazing experience and place, we were very fortunate that we got to do our tour with Margo, she was knowledgeable, funny and also expresses the emotion of each part of the tour perfectly, im sure all the guides are great but Margo made a great experience even better.
An absolute must if you are a prince fan and essential if you love music and it's history,
I would give it 6 stars if o could
We did the 2 hour tour although it ran over 👍🏻

Even if you're not a big Prince fan you'll find this interesting. Serious Prince fans might want to opt for the VIP tour, but we found the regular tour perfectly acceptable. Our guide was very knowledgeable, provided plenty of information and was happy to answer all questions. You can take your cell phone with you but they seal them up for most of the tour. No water bottles or beverage containers allowed so leave them in the car. I recommend reserving as far in advance as you can. We found a great Thai restaurant (Na's) in nearby Chanhassen before our afternoon tour. Worth the visit.

I initially booked the GA tour for June 25th, which was also the 35th Anniversary of the release of Purple Rain! I decided to upgrade to VIP because I arrived to the museum via an uber an hour early and there was no waiting area. The VIP experience was amazingly quaint and our guide Sharon did an excellent job sharing Prince's life with us. My favorite part was viewing the LoveSexy, Signofthetimes rooms, the Purple Rain, Under the Cherry Moon rooms, and the Influencers/Influencees wall. I also loved the soundstage and seeing Prince's luxury cars. His Bentley was so beautiful and I could imagine him driving around in it! It was a special experience and my only complaint really was that we couldn't take pictures while there. I think if they asked us to sign something saying we wouldn't post them on the internet we should be able to further memorialize that memory. There were so many things that connected to my childhood I would have loved to show my parents who can no longer travel. Or even if you make us pay for the USB, add a few special photos to it for the $10 price tag. I would like to bring my daughter to see it and experience it one more time in my life! Thank you, Prince, for being so amazing! You are truly missed!

Easily one of the best attractions we've ever been to. We selected the Ultimate Experience and it was well worth it by far. Covid has scared many people away and the city is still reeling from the George Floyd uprising. As a result, our tour was very intimate as we were joined by only one other couple. I'm not a fan of crowds, so this was HEAVEN ON EARTH for me.
Our tour guide was Josh and he was great, providing knowledge and interesting facts without rushing us along. We were greeted at the door by Mark (apologies if it's spelled Marc) who was patient and pleasant, making us feel welcomed. I did not get the name of the young lady at the desk, but she was nice and pleasant as well.
If you are a Prince fan who is from out of town, there's no reason to purchase any package other than the Ultimate Experience. It's well worth it!

I love Prince, he was such a talent. I've seen him in concert, and love his music. So while in Minnesota of course I had to tour his home. It is really interesting, and I'm very glad that I saw it. However, it is extremely overpriced for what you actually get to see. We chose the VIP tour, simply because we were afraid we would miss somthing if we chose GA. I do think we saw a couple of studios that GA didn't see, but we saw none of Prince's actual living quarters. Our tour guide was fine, she was friendly and knowledgeable, but my husband and I paid $225 for a tour that lasted a little over an hour. Fun to see, and emotional in parts of course. I'm glad that I did it once, but I do wish they would lower the price or extend the areas that we get to tour to make it a better value.

This museum was great! There are only guided tours. Our guide was very knowledgeable and had had a great energy when talking about the different parts of the museum.
This is year marks the 40th anniversary of the Purple Rain movie & album and the museum had artifacts from the movie. It was really cool.

Wonderful tour! In true Prince fashion, guests were asked to lock up their phones in advance. This is exactly something the artist would do! I appreciate this because it would have slowed down parts of the tour- there was just so much to see! I learned a lot about the artist I didn’t know, such as his skill level in production and sound mixing. I know how much effort went into the building of museum exhibits and I’m sure it will continue to be added onto in the years to come. I will have to come back in another five years!

This is a must see for those who know who Prince is. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time and they sell out fast so book a month or 2 ahead of your trip to Minnesota. Length of tour on what tour package you purchase (ultimate 3 hours, VIP 120 minutes and experience is 90 minutes). Parking is free and there is bathrooms on the tour. Your phones will be locked up in a pouches you carry with you so no video or photos on the tour. All of his pianos, instruments, recording equipment, motorcycles, cars, a boat load of shoes, clothes and much more is there. I loved every minute of our tour. The only negative was that the gift shop has minimal things there to purchase.

My family and I did the VIP experience and it was just brilliant. Whether you're a fan or not, I would strongly recommend this attraction, which provides an insight into the life and times of this musical genius. As a fan, I would recommend you do the VIP experience as you get up close and personal with the late, great Prince. Highlight for us was recording in the famous Studio B and the wonderful staff who made this visit a highlight of our trip to the USA, and my 3 kids have not stopped talking about it, so I think it will ensure that the legacy of Prince will continue with another generation. At the end of the tour, on reflection, we were equally inspired by Prince's genius and also sad that he seemed so alone. Well done to the estate for opening up his home to his fans and letting us get a little closer to the genius that was and is Prince. We will be back again, and this time plan to do the Ultimate Experience tour! One thing, remember to book your tickets in advance!

As an avid Prince fan, visiting Paisley Park had been on my bucket list for a long time. I took the tour last Fall and it was everything I imagined it would be and more. The only disappointment I had was the fact that I talked myself out of the VIP tour. Less than halfway into the tour, I immediately knew that I should've spent the extra coins. I'm already planning to go back and get the full experience. Although no cameras/photos are allowed, the images will stay with you forever. To walk the halls and be in the same space where Prince once spent his time is just mesmerizing. My personal favorite was the Purple Rain room. I could've stayed there forever. From the costumes, personal vehicles, records, etc, you will just be amazed by everything you take in during the tour. This is a must for every Prince fan.

There is an unexplainable presence at Paisley Park. It is more than just a museum. It is very temple-like and I know it is because of the mystic that was PRINCE. I haven't been the same since visiting. The curators have done an amazing job of keeping Prince's memory alive.

We did the Paisley After Dark tour and I don’t feel it was worth it. It was good information, with Studio A being the best part. The after party was weirdly uneventful.

What an Honor to Visit Paisley Park! And to play a round of Ping Pong on Prince’s table in one of the studios was an absolute Dream Come True! I also got to enjoy the tour Paisley Park tour that was in Amsterdam as well and hold one of Prince’s many Guitars with gloves on of course.. So glad that the Paisley Park Foundation has really opened up and let us see a side of Prince he never really showed..

You aren't allowed to take pictures until the last room. You can check your camera at the front desk and retrieve it once you get to the last room. There are a couple of places to sit throughout the first half of the tour but that's it. On the VIP tour there are two photo opportunities (they take the photos) and you can email or text them to yourself. At the end of the tour there's a cafe where you can purchase snacks and coffee with seating. It is amazing to see everything you get to see, and it's 100% worth the visit.

Always wanted to get an idea of life inside Paisley Park and I'm glad we made the trip but it could have been better. We paid for the 3 hour tour as we came from the UK and wanted everything on offer. You get to see the entrance hall that leads to an atrium with doors going off into various small rooms; his office (they say just as he left it), a little diner style room with snacks and a TV where he would watch basketball, a couple of rooms dedicated to albums (e.g. Lovesexy) with memorabilia in. Went to his editing room where we sat and watched him on a screen). We saw a couple of recording studios, got to listen to some tracks, before production, whilst he was laying them down - that was pretty cool. Had a couple of photos taken by them and e-mailed to us (not allowed your phones in this part of the building). Lots of outfits /shoes / guitars on display. There was a large Purple Rain exhibition that we got to wander around. Went into the stage area (where most of Sign of the Times was filmed) and I believe we were supposed to see something on the screen but there had been some double booking and a sound test was going on, on the stage, instead for a show the next night. I don't know what we missed but instead they sat us on a purple sofa with a drink and had a chat; slightly awkward - was aware that they were killing time. As we were in an area of that room not usually available to the public there were 2 rather intimidating security guards hovering around us. Rather unnecessary & blocked my view of the room when the guide was pointing things out to us. Finally into the NPG nightclub for a wander around and then through to the gift shop. Don't book if you expect to see his actual living quarters, they are on the first floor and we didn't go near that. Wear a jumper, the aircon was freezing. The actual tour wasn't amazing but this was a pilgrimage for me.

Even if you're not a big Prince fan, I highly recommend doing a tour. There's just so much awesome music history in this building and it's an amazing place inside what looks like a very non descript building outside.

My family flew from California just to visit Paisley Park. Our VIP tour was spectacular! The reason is because our tour guide, Corri was amazing! She took great care to answer all our questions and make the tour extra fun! Her energy and enthusiasm was infectious. We loved every minute of our stay at Paisley Park. I wanna go back again soon! This was already my second visit; I did the VIP tour back in 2019 as well!

If you are a fan of the musical genius known as Prince, you will be in awe of the "museum" created for us to enjoy. It's worth every penny to step into the spaces Prince used to create his art.

I didn’t have great expectations for the GA ticket but I was pleasantly surprised. I would ask questions if I tour again like what is the circular building used for? Staff was ok, I definitely think the website could use some work with selling the tours better and explain what each tour provides, they are selling it short. I wasn’t a huge Prince fan before the tour but I definitely am now after the tour and the dozens of videos online that I have watched to research before and after the tour. What an amazing, caring, funny and smart and of course talented man that we lost!

You can take pics on maybe the last quarter of the tour. We got to see his oscar and 3 grammys and his office and where he did a lot of his work and his basketball court. Then we got to hang out at his night club/cafe. We had cheesecake. Definitely a very unique and interesting place. That place was definitely pretty different.

If you are a mega Prince fan this is definitely for you, me and my partner aren’t but definitely appreciate him and his influence so we chose the standard tour (online it said $35 but when we went to pay they were $50). Please note that you must have tickets before going - a not very nice door guard turned us away when we first got there because we didn’t have tickets). The tour is great but as I can see in previous comments it is a little bit of a bummer you can’t take pictures. Prince was definitely talented and we learned a lot from the tour (I don’t wanna spoil it).
The gift shop at the end of the tour left a little to be desired, but we still managed to pick up a cool pin for my dad. Add an extra star to my review if youre a fan!
** also, we didn’t have a car the weekend we were in Minneapolis and were staying downtown so we took the train (from downtown) to the Mall of America and took a Lyft which was around $20**

Wow Wow Wow!!! Great property with nice access. Did the mid tier tour. Tour guide was enthusiastic and had answers, insight for everything Prince. You walk in first gathering space and there is the iconic MadCat telecaster staring at you through a display. So much to take in. Videos provided in each room. Really all you could ask for. Left with a feeling of Positivity.

Absolute disappointment! After reading other people’s rave reviews on this, we opted for the $80 tickets because the ultimate experience was sold out (thank God we didn’t waste that much $$!!) - for $80 ($90 inc fees + Tax) each ticket , we got two hours of touring a few of his studios, a concert space area, instruments, some of his costumes, some handwritten lyrics and two of his cars.
The group had to stay together and there
was a ton of security so no looking around at our own pace like other museums.
Even if you get The Ultimate Experience , you still don’t see any of his actual house.
No pictures until the end, lots of fluff with showing old videos and group engagement.
Do NOT waste your $
Not worth it.
Plus $40 each way for Uber from north loop in downtown. :(

Let me just start by telling you visiting Paisley Park is EVERYTHIIIIIIING if you love Prince. Do not skip this - I say again, do NOT skip this! Also, our group did the VIP tour. I can't even imagine not doing the VIP tour if you love Prince! It's a MUST!! Although, it doesn't include getting to roll around on Prince's bed (I asked) it's STILL amazing!!! You're in awe just driving up to it. Entering takes you to another level... and the first steps into the atrium - speechless. I'm not going to give you all the details of this tour, but it is definitely something you will never forget! Even though you are not permitted to take any photos inside Paisley Park - if I close my eyes I can picture everything in my mind... it's THAT intense! #prince4ever

Oh my goodness, they just put together a room with all of Prince’s shoes!!! It is awesome. And now they do let you take photos but only in certain areas on just the regular tour. I was so blessed to be able to go on my birthday November 11!!! I left my purpleheart wood symbol there for Prince… a friend made it for me, and I couldn’t wait for the day to take it. Most memorable event for me since the pandemic shut us down. All the way from Washington state! I miss you Prince😭💜. See you in heaven

I did the VIP Ultimate tour and after party and all I can say is that it was worth the money. Most of the staff are very nice and helpful. However, a few staff acted as if Prince was still there--they were overly protective and questioning your every move. But for the most part everything was professional and informative. Our Guide was a volunteer who has been hanging around Paisley Park for years. He knew a lot and seemed like he was very emotional. I was a little disappointed that we did not get to see any of the upstairs rooms--nothing. The meal that came with the Ultimate tour was good and the After Party was Fun (once we stopped being questioned by the MC who was monitoring who was in line). Even though I'm giving it 5 stars, her are some things they need to improve: 1. Provide an waiting area for people who get there a little early. Yes the memorial was nice to visit but some of us travel a long way and take a Taxi in from the city. 2. Have afterparty tickets as an option for all level of tickets. In other words, don't make people pay for tickets twice. 3. Everyone Be Nice...these are true Prince fans who have travelled near and far to visit. We come to have a good time and as far as I could tell everyone was respectful.

Having the right tour guide would have made this a more enjoyable experience. The tour guide spent to much time talking about her history, how she became a tour guide, asking the group for their favorite songs and Prince experiences, calling out a man who was clearing having difficulty walking through the experience (there were only a few areas were you could sit) instead of pulling him aside to see if she could help him, and sarcasm when a women asked a question about what was written on an award because it was to dark to read the writing.
I missed a lot because we were rushed through each room except for the last room where she was busy unlocking everyone’s phones.
I enjoyed everything I did get to see but wish I had been given time to read each plaque and see each item.
Shout out to the Security and Front Gate Gentlemen. You were all very helpful, extremely kind and knowledgeable.

This tour was on our bucket list. Fans of Prince since the 80's, this tour did not disappoint. In fact, it was AMAZING! The facility is beautifully maintained, the guided tour exceptional, and items on display mouth dropping. His shoes!! Our takeaway, Prince was a private man, a prodigy, businessman, and visionary. In complete awe of what he accomplished in his lifetime. Highly recommend visiting.

Having the right tour guide would have made this experience better. It felt rushed and there wasn’t enough time to enjoy the Prince Legacy. Our tour guide spent to much group time talking about how she became a tour guide, asking people questions, sarcasm when a women asked a question because it was to dark to read what was on an award and calling out a man a couple times who was having difficulty walking through the experience instead of pulling him aside.
Aside from the tour guide what I was able to see and read about was really interesting and it could have been a more enjoyable experience.

I purchased the $100 VIP ticket which seems a little high for the rooms in which we were able to visit, but I must say what we did get to see and learn was amazing. Please note, there are strict rules in place such as no cell phones or even gum chewing on the property. Prince never allowed visitors to take pictures of the inside of Paisley Park when he was alive so it’s understandable the tour company honors those wishes. If you are even the slightest Prince fan (and let’s be honest, who hasn’t heard of Purple Rain) this is worth visiting! Laurel was an amazing tour guide! I’m glad I can mark this off my bucket list!

Did the Ultimate Tour which, surprisingly, was worth the price. I'm not a big Prince fan although I've always loved his music but found his music production vision very interesting. Tommy was a great tour guide, having been in the mix of local fans while Prince was alive.

Very interesting to walk though Prince's place, whether or not you like his music. Undeniably, Prince was an iconic artist. Incredible musician and performer.

Great way to spend time learning more about Prince and the music business. Very exciting to see where he and others made music, his many shoes and outfits, guitars, and other items from his career. Everyone working there was nice and respectful to us and to Prince's legacy. Some in my group knew nothing about him but still enjoyed the experience. I went with my siblings, ages 50s to 70s. We did the shortest tour which was just right for our group.

Our guide was really great, lots of great insight and interesting stories about Prince. I still tell some to this day to people that ask me about it. Even if you aren't a huge Prince fan, you have to appreciate his approach to creativity and music making.

This was on our to do list and we are glad we made the trek. We had a very good tour guide that shared a good overview of the facility and the life of Prince. Where it fell short was the gift shop. There was very little to choose from for any fan that took the time for this particular museum experience. With the right marketing, there could be a huge amount of ideas of token memorabilia that would translate into good profits. (ie. berets, copies of shoes, corvette models, diamonds/pearls, etc)These profits could then be utilized for other music related endeavors, charities or social movements that Prince was involved with.

I am not a huge Prince fan, but appreciated some of his music. The tour was very well done. Our guide was knowledgeable, helpful, and fun. We were given lots of information, time to view everything, and insight to Paisley Park. The grounds are well kept, the staff was friendly, and the tour was informative.

Wife and I had an amazing time visiting the @officialpaisleypark when we visited in September 2018 to get the ultimate experience in learning about @prince life; Heidi was our guide and did an amazing job; we were extremely impressed by the social distancing protocol before & during the 3 hour tour, & highly recommend the 3 hour tour as it comes with extras any fan of this legend would not want to miss; I didn’t know just how talented he was until after taking this experience!! Lastly, Prince was so ahead of his time with fighting intolerance and racial injustice as we are witnessing today. #prince #paisleypark #purplerain #whendovescry #kiss ❤️

I wasn’t a HUGE fan of Prince. I did own a few of his albums. But when I saw tours available for Paisley Park during a short time in Minneapolis, I got super-excited. My teenage child and I did the VIP Tour and it didn’t disappoint . It was phenomenal. So much information and genuine displays of his life. It was worth the time and money. Our tour guide James was cool and knowledgeable. We got to play ping pong with a purple ping pong ball in one of the recording studios (making memories with my kid). When I get the chance to take another tour, I’ll definitely do the Ultimate VIP tour.

I think for a new exhibit, it is done very well. No, it is not a "Graceland" yet, but we really enjoyed ourselves. You really felt the spirit of the musician. I am soooo glad and thankful that the family decided to share it with the public. I do think it is just a little on the pricey side and the items in the gift shop are very expensive.

I am a lifelong Prince fan. My experience at Paisley Park was absolutely incredible. Seeing the different studios and just knowing that Prince lived there was very touching. Our tour guide Maria was great. I did the VIP tour and it was well worth it.

We took the 90 minutes tour and it was fabulous from start to finish.
Mark was great as was the lady guide.
Didn’t really understand why we had to have our camera phones locked in a bag for some of the tour but then could take photos for the rest. Can’t imagine this was Prince’s wish, as apparently were many of the other details of the tour.
We saw the studio, kitchen, guitars, shoes, concert footage, artefacts from Purple Rain. He had taste too – a purple Bentley!
Gift shop and café at the end of the tour were very relaxing. We didn’t feel hurried at all and the tour though sold out wasn’t crowded at all.

Hats off to our tour guide Marshall. He brought the full Prince experience to life; making me feel like a Prince insider. The tour is informative, entertaining and sad when you consider the talent that was lost. I highly recommend this tour, but recommend Marshall to really bring it to life.

We visited Paisley Park on August 9 and took the VIP tour. We had read some negative reviews but that was not our experience at all. The employees were polite and professional. Our tour guide, Shayde, was exceptional. We lucked out with an amazing guide who has a true passion for Paisley Park and the life of Prince. The tour was very interesting! We easily could have done another hour more (Ultimate Experience tour). If you’re a Prince and/or music fan, this is a must-do when in Minneapolis.

I thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Paisley Park. Everyone we encountered.. from the man at the gate, the man who gave us instructions prior to starting the tour, and Tammy our tour guide were all very professional and friendly. Tammy was very upbeat and knowledgeable. The shoe collection was amazing. Definitely the highlight of my visit to Minneapolis.

We were underwhelmed and somewhat put off starting with an interview/interrogation by the individual controlling access to the parking lot. I got the impression we might not be allowed to enter after driving from downtown. He did announce our arrival and provided directions to the parking area which was already in plain sight. The entrances are not labeled. Yes, We were immediately directed to the Gift Shop entrance. I was surprised this door was also locked. Strange. The selection was limited. We visited and bar area immediately adjacent to the Gift Shop. We took a few pictures and left. Fortunately, we were not aware tours must be booked online. Why? I am not sure.

Beware of the app and insure the tickets are confirmed which we did but date was changed after purchase. My advice is to purchase with American express and then they are refundable. If not you have to reschedule or just loose the money.

Big fan and a must to see. It was exciting to be in the same space that Prince had been in and some of the items you get to see you can tell that they were used. Two things that stand out are the ping pong table that we were told Prince loved to play and we were allowed to play on it as well and in the atrium kitchen where Prince would watch TV I notice a crocheted purple blanket that I could imagine him wrapping up in. 💜 I expected Paisley Park to be less industrial than it is, maybe it is in the places we didn’t get to see.
The guide was definitely knowledgeable about Prince and his doings. He talked a lot, personally I would have liked to have seen more of the compound and private effects. The price was expensive for what you get I think. They lead you to the famous space where Prince would invite people over and jam, and the to the gift shop at the end.
It was definitely something I needed to do being a huge fan.

This tour was a must for me since I was traveling to Minneapolis. A friend went with me who was not a big Prince fan and now she is! It was way better than expected. The costumes, the awards, the music and videos were great to see and hear. I especially liked seeing his office and the recording studio. The Uber ride was about $27-$30 one way from downtown Minneapolis.

If you are a Prince fan this is a must see. A true insight into his creative genius. This tour breathes in life. No phone no cameras. Choose the VIP tour on Thursday.

My wife and I needed a getaway, so I booked the VIP tour. We spent over $1,000 to get to Minneapolis including air fare and VIP tickets at $100 each. Although the tickets and site state you should not arrive earlier than twenty minutes before the tour, our commute took much less time than anticipated from Minneapolis. We arrived early and were greeted by a woman who curtly told us to go for a walk in the woods until our tour time. It was 10:10 am and we could enter the building no earlier than 10:20. We were both appalled at her attitude. It was Minnesota in the autumn, so being outside in chilly wind was a bit of a challenge. We are young and fit enough, but the request was deeply off-putting and odd. We waited in the foyer but it was obvious we were an eye sore to a small army clad in black.
The tour would have been better if a warm place to sit and wait was available.
A man with an ear piece and a black suit awkwardly kept popping out to greet those who came in for the regular 10:30 tour. I interpreted his demeanor as a strange power trip and, to be blunt, a sad show of force. Finally he emerged from the main entry hall into the foyer and announced we could come into the building. He guided us onto the hallowed VIP rug and up to the front desk. We locked up our phones and were told we could sit down in the purple plush chairs adorning the entry hall. We sat in two of the four chairs. Suddenly, the man in the black suit came into the room and scolded us for sitting on the furniture....that we were told to sit on. I am slow to anger but at that point I wanted a full refund. We opted to stand in silence like third graders punished for speaking out of turn.
A few minutes later the man came back into the room and apologized, telling us we actually could sit in the chairs.
The tour guide was a huge Prince fan. She was warm, funny, and a sharp contrast from the others we encountered. For me, the price of admission was worth it because I got to stand two feet away from guitars I’ve read about since my preteen years. However, if those instruments had not been on display I would have loathed Paisley Park for what it has become.
On the VIP tour you get to see more, but I do think Prince Rogers Nelson himself would be ashamed of the lack of manners bestowed upon guests.
I left there feeling like I had just paid $100 for someone to treat me like dirt.

Planned well in advance for the VIP tour with a group of friends while visiting MN. Your phone is locked up before you set foot inside, so don’t plan to take any pics. The tour explored the first floor only, which is basically all of the “business” side of Prince. The displays are well done, lots of info about his career and things to look at. Margo, our tour guide, was knowledgeable and passionate. No mention of Princes personal life, no glimpse into him as a “person” (where he lived, spent time etc) and absolutely nothing about his death. You wouldn’t even know he died if you didn’t already know. Paisley park is very interesting, we are all glad we went but it did feel we were missing things. Perhaps the Ultimate VIP tour covers more of that?

If you have Purple in ur veins then the Ultimate Experience tour might be a bit disappointing to you. This is a first floor only tour of PP and a lot of the information shared you will already know. However, the visual stimulation of FINALLY visiting PP, a place we've all seen on line and in pictures many times, will absolutely take your breath away! Your eyes and mind will constantly wander and you will continuously see his image or hear his footsteps throughout the tour.
The Ultimate Tour, for the $$$ paid, should include more. Die hard fans, fans who are life long Prince enthusiasts will leave feeling unfulfilled, as I did. I enjoyed the tour immensely, but I really was hoping for something more personal and intimate. Essentially, this tour, was for me, a physical affirmation of what the internet had already done many time before. However, other than the unimaginable visuals not much new was learned.

A Prince fans must see! A little pricey but.....its a one off! Pity you can't take photos inside though, real shame. It also feels a little rushed as you're on a schedule. I did the VIP tour and didn't read half the things I would've liked to. Watch out too....they cancelled my original booking just as we were leaving our hotel to go, due to weather. (we travelled from Scotland and based our entire trip around it....plus we booked the chance to sing there too...on a Thursday) thankfully we managed to rebook for the Saturday but that meant no singing!! Disappointed! The shop could be way better too, not a lot to buy, and paying $10 for the USB stick that has your one and only photo on it is a bit tight! Plus we sweated all the way home incase it wasn't actually transferred properly!! (it was!!)
Not dissing it just thought it could be better!

We took the general tour which was an awesome experience. Tour guide was very knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. Learned many new things about Prince. It's a must tour for any fan.

Great experience! Lots of rooms and memorabilia! Your phone gets locked in a pouch so no one will try to sneak photos! You get your phone back before you go into the large auditorium where you could then take pictures of the items in the room. Overall, we had a great experience!

Prince was an icon and a genius. Paisley Park is a tribute to his work, his work ethic and his unique vision. If you love his music and his work you will love Paisley Park!

I was a little worried from some of the negative reviews, but it turned out to be a great tour. At no point were we rushed or treated like criminals or any of the other negative things others have claimed. Yes, they had us secure our phones for the first part of the tour but there were plenty of photo ops at the end. We were asked not to touch anything but that should be expected. Both the young man checking us in and my tour guide, Ivy were excellent. I also enjoyed having a one on one chat with Ivy about other non-Prince related Minneapolis music history. The only negative is the gift shop is a little pricey but what isn't these days?

We love Prince, but our tour guide was condescending and rude. He seemed like a bitter man who didn’t want to be there.

We took the basic 90 minute tour and it was great. Phones were locked in pouches for most of the tour because that was Prince’s request. Tour did a good job of showing video and playing some song clips after the guide gave some background. Our guide, Bea, was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The sound stage had plenty of memorabilia that you could take pictures of. I think people complaining want to see his bed or get his pancake recipe or something else unreasonable, it’s a good tour of a musical genius.

We had not planned to visit Paisley Park except several people we spoke to in Minneapolis said it was a must see even for casual fans, which we were. We booked The Paisley Experience for $45. And we totally enjoyed it. We saw the Atrium with memorabilia around and the Kitchenette where he liked to watch sports events, several recording studios, sound stage, the NPG Music dance club, special exhibit of 300 shoes, motor cycles, automobiles, and outfits. Heard lots of music including snippets of unreleased songs. Each tour is guided, and will keep the tour moving. Tour guide shares lots of information on recording, music and Paisley Park itself. Our guide shared her stories of the dance parties she was lucky enough to attend at Paisley Park. If you are looking for a personal information or gossip, this is not the tour for you. Prince was a private individual and the caretakers honor that as well as Princes rule that when people came to Paisley Park for parties or business he did not allow pictures. Hence why your cell phone is locked for the majority of your tour. Book your tour in advance. We were lucky, the day we wanted to go, there was 1 time slot open for 1 tour. The Ultimate and VIP tours were totally booked solid for the next 2 week. We took an Uber from Minneapolis to Paisley Park, about 30 min drive, about $30 ride each way. And so worth it. We loved our time at Paisley Park.

This tour is a must do/see. It feels like Prince could come out and greet you. The costumes and artifacts are so amazing to see. Be prepared to not take pictures, you'll have to rely on your memory.

A lot of memorabilia and displays. Very informative tour with a lot to see. A very impressive building!

Being a Prince fan, you can't help but love this place. Seeing all the memorabilia brought back so many memories. I did general admission but will be going back for the VIP tour cause I need more. If you're a real fan, don't even waste your money doing the general admission. The only thing I didn't like is that our guide didn't seem to knowledgeable, I felt like we knew more than her. I also absolutely hate and don't understand why you can't take pictures. Most people travel far to see it and have no real memories really to take home. We took a pic outside, but the building is so nondescript that you don't even know what it is. So depriving your fans, at least let them take pics in one area of the compound. Security was super tight too but that part I understand

We took the VIP tour and was amazed by all that we saw, heard and did. Many of Prince's props, costumes, artifacts, and awards are on display. A must stop for Prince fans! You must buy tickets ahead online and arrive at your time!

Me and my partner flew all the way from the UK to visit Paisley Park! As a massive Prince fan myself it was everything I'd dreamed of and more, but for those who only vaguely like Prince (not sure that's possible) you will not be disappointed!
We took the VIP tour and our guide was Karla who was brilliant, she clearly loves what she does and admires Prince. The only downsides of the visit is that 1. You can't take any pictures inside the building, which is understandable as to respect Prince's rules. 2. When you reach the end of the tour your left wanting more and for it to go on for longer.
There are so many things to see, from his awesome guitars and pianos, his gorgeous outfits and the bikes from Purple Rain and Graffiti Brige. I would encourage any Prince fan to visit, it truly was the most magical experience!

Awesome experience! Our guide was so knowledgeable and the vibe was warm and inviting. Visiting Paisley Park exceeded my wildest expectations! A must see!

Very interesting to see even if you're not the biggest Prince fan. We enjoyed the tour and wish we would have upgraded to the VIP tickets. Amazing how he made this into his home and work location! Only wish we could have taken pictures!!

If you are a prince fan or a fan of the Minneapolis music scene then this is a must. From the road you’d have no idea of the history that took place here. We just did the general tour but i was totally satisfied with that. We got to see lots of his outfits, movie props, awards, sound stage, night club. As a music lover this was pretty surreal to be in Princes space like that. They lock up your cell phones so sadly no photos. Gift shop is nice but expensive.

I've visited #PaisleyPark several times in the past couple years, but this was the first time I had done anything other than the General Admission tour. Tomi was our guide for the Ultimate Experience and he was fabulous. So happy to have been there. Every tour I've been on is a little different, but today was by far the best.

We were headed to the area for a wedding and while doing some research realized the Prince connection. Of course, we added Paisley Park to our plan. Reservations (small groups) were required and you can only arrive right before the tour and have to leave pretty much after. No cell phones! They actually take them from you and lock them up in a case that you can carry with you. Lots of cool stuff about Prince, his life and of course his music. The small size of the tour groups gives you an opportunity to hear/learn more and to see the things you really want to see and ask about>
An experience of a lifetime for a Prince fan! I smiled, I laughed, I cried, I was transported back in time, I mourned for a man gone too soon. I took the VIP tour and was glad I paid the extra for it. Went on Sunday in order to go to the included brunch and it was nice. A must see!
