BEAUTIFUL BEACH

By Necoal W |

We had a amazing day , It was a very beautiful day. There was close access to bathrooms, bar and food.

A Gem of Shops and Restaurants

By DjDan48 |

Friends suggested that this place just 10 miles up the road would be a good day trip for us. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves going in and out of the various touristy shots on their Boardwalk and other streets beyond that area. I did manage to have whole belly clams at one place. Nothing like having them back in Connecticut, but a reasonable facsimile. This area was very busy with Marina tours jet skis and other types of entertainment for the many tourists. Of course, Linda had an opportunity to find a nice sundress and bathing suit at one of the shops.

Quaint little town

By Barbara P |

We love Pass-a-Grille and always go over to shop, eat, drink and go to the beach every year when we come down. Such cute little shops and the Sea Horse is the best for breakfast!

Lovely Neighborhood

By NRL50 |

Well worth the time to visit. We ate dinner at the Brass Monkey and watched the sunset. The next day we returned to take a sunset cruise from Merry Pier. Quiet but pretty with a few shops. A great break from the tiki huts on the beach :)

Great place with really nice beach. Food at the Brass Monkey and The Hurricane Watch was outstanding.

Perfect spot for a relaxing day at the beach!

By Matt Mills |

We visited with our kids (11 & 9) on Dec.27.

Despite being the ‘holiday’ time, the beach wasn’t crazy busy.

We found a great spot down near 3rd Ave; close to the jetty so that our son (11) could fish while the rest of us enjoyed the sand, water, etc.

We were pleasantly surprised to see a nice pod of dolphins slowly swimming by, breaching the surface every few seconds.

The view was stunning and beach and sand was very clean.

It was easy to walk down to 8th ave where most of the shops are located and we even took a nice stroll over to Merry Pier to see some fisherman, pelicans and charter boats coming & going.

Price for Parking was reasonable; $2.75/hr. And we found a spot right away.

Our son had some luck fishing too; he caught a few Amber Jacks using a combo of shrimp and fish bites as bait.

Would definitely return!

Now our favorite summer vacation spot!

This was our second year in a row visiting the St Pete area. We stayed in Treasure Island area last year but once we found this beach we wished we had booked a place here. So this year we booked our condo here and enjoyed every minute. You honestly can’t go wrong visiting or staying on this beach. Below are the reasons it’s great:

-Very short walk from parking to water. In most places 100 ft from your car, over the sand dune. walk the beach and your in the water. The beach itself is not long to the water but plenty of space for everyone. One of our top reasons we love it here.

-The sand is great with packed or loose for the kiddos to play in.

-Area and beach is not packed or jammed with people. Even on the weekends when I assume the locals come in it was still not bad. Barely waited for any tables at restaurants. The general area has a old school beach feel. Laid back and not a generic beach store every 1000 ft.

-The shelling is fabulous. Found conch shells as big as 2ft long if you swim out some and dive for them. Even on the beach you can find decent regular shells ones if you search but the best ones are in the water.

-Most days the water is very calm but the weather can change that. Our first day the waves were insane. I was body board riding waves 30-40 ft! I loved it but the kids were getting slammed and knocked down constantly so we headed for the pool quickly that day. By the end of the week the water was back to being glass.

-There is a bar/grill right on the beach. The food is a big step up from the typical concession stand you get at many area beaches. It was very good and reasonably priced.

-Lastly, the sunsets. Not much needs to be said but without all of the hotels and buildings right on the beach it’s a great place to watch the sun drop into the water. Just awesome.

Below a few concerns that I think you need to consider about the area:

-There is no lifeguards on this beach. You are swimming at your own risk so keep your eyes on your kids. It’s a decently gradual drop for the water but riptides are a problem just about anywhere in this entire area. Make sure you educate yourselves on the danger and talk to your family about it and how to be safe. Use flotation devices but don’t count on them to absolutely save you. Be safe out there.

-If you want to rent chairs and an umbrella there are a few spots but your best bet is near the Paradise Grille on the beach.

-Sea life, shells and coral abound so keep this in mind in the ocean. This area can contain stingrays, fish, dolphins, and the like. Tons of shells on the sea bed can and will injure you. I think in more abundance than on other beaches the area. Wear foot protection if you’re worried about this and always be aware of your surroundings. Of course common sense should prevail but I had seen a lot of people getting cuts on their feet from the shells and one person stepped on a stingray. They were lucky not to get stung.

-Finally, the birds here are mental. I know it’s like that on every beach but I don’t remember ever being on a beach and seeing birds literally snatch food out of peoples hands near their mouth as they tried to take a bite. Let alone setting it down. It will be gone. About the best way to protect yourself is to have something above you like an umbrella or shelter. I am not joking about this. It happened all around us all day and twice to our group.

I can’t say enough about the area and beach. Not sure if Pass-A-Grille qualifies as a hidden gem but if your looking for a place for your vacation or to visit for a day, make it here. You will not be disappointed. We are making this our summer vacation go to for many years to come!

Charming town to explore

By bluegrassmom3 |

Make time to go visit this treasure of a community. Great shops and restaurants in this quiet residential area.

New Favorite Beach!!

By Mac93074 |

Heard good things about this beach and they were all true! Loved the location, soft sand, calm water, friendly people, chairs and umbrellas and most of all the live music and food and drinks on the beach. The little restaurant/stand had food that looked good and really reasonably priced soft drinks, beer, wine, frozen drinks, etc. We initially went with plans to stay a few hours but stayed the whole day and well into the evening. It's my new favorite beach and we'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area!

Sunset

By blindbat1959 |

Had great food at the Brass Monkey. Wonderful atmosphere and professional. Beautiful views and great place to view a sunset. Parking is a little pricey. Music and great ice cream shop. We go every year.

Florida in the 70’s

By Rebecca M |

This is one of the best hidden secrets in Florida. It really is Florida in the 70’s! Highly recommend visiting. Weekends are always crowded.

Sunset at paradise grill

By la o |

Felt like a tourist but why not? Drank a nice mimosa in a plastic cup to wait for the sun to set on a beautiful evening! Fun live beach music too Would do it again !

Don't go here

By AuntieWarhol |

I want it all to myself. The shops are the best, got great beachy linen outfits. The sunsets are fantastic. We liked the food better at the other restaurant, not the Hurricane.

Beach walk

By Marilyn2849 |

While my husband went fishing on Merry Pier, I went for a walk along the beach. I was pleasantly surprised to discover how long this beach is! I walked along the beach from the tip of Pass-a-grille all the way to the Don CeSar Hotel (1 1/2 miles). There were lots of crushed little clam shells on the beach with seagulls and plover birds in and out of the water. Other people were enjoying the sun and sand, paddle boarding in the water, and fishing off the beach. The beach goes a lot farther past the hotel.

Our new paradise

By Kristina |

Last minute booked a beach house while visiting nearby and it was the best decision ever ! The quiet , sunsets , food & atmosphere completely reset us.
Paradise Gille was amazing ! We went to the beach at low tide and hit the seashell jackpot ! Live music while watching the sunset here can not be matched. So many fun things to see , history , statues. Can’t wait to book our next trip and this will be absolutely intentional.

Beach with a romantic sunset

By Louie D |

Very nice beach with a wonderful sunset view.
Not to crowded and the beaches and water is clean.
A bit out of the way but well worth the drive.

cozy little town

By DL48Ohio |

Losts of boutique shops and casual restaurants. Beach has nice white sand and is not too crowded. Good place to relax. Plus, they have a free shuttle (Freebee) which is great!

Cute little historical Florida town

By McSmitty23 |

We have never been to Pass-a-Grille before, but will definitely go back! Cute "Old Florida" town, with colorful shops and cottages and restaurants. Very nice beach too!

Granddaughter Loved This Beach

By NXTTRP |

Pass-a-Grille is our beach destination for walks or friends and family visits. Easy to assess with friendly, family vibe. Umbrellas for rent and food nearby. Lots of shells for collecting.

Wonderful relaxed vibe

By Susan B |

We visit here on every trip - fishing walking on the beach or watching the sunset at eve paradise grill
Magical

Quiet Paradise

By Abbie Holden |

Pass A Grille Beach is beautiful. I has everything you would want restaurants, shopping, and the beach. It is quiet and not many people. So it is very laid back and relaxing. White sand and that turquoise water.

Better shelling than Sanibel, part local only beach I go to

By Missyl |

Even found a Juno is and alphabet cone among the abundant shells. Then went to Larry’s on St Pete beach for ice cream, a must, over 80 flavors of ice cream and gelato! And now, they have a huge outdoor seating area!!

Terrible Name, Beautiful Beach

By DaraTheExplorer |

Great place to walk on the beach or go for a swim. Excellent beach restaurant on the shore with live music.

Disappointed

By johnny h |

Pay to park really you want my business. That was a negative first thing. Shops was way over priced. Probably not going to visit again soon.

A must go!

By mario |

If you visit the area, you need to check it out. It was a wonderful experience, restaurants are good, ice cream was great, beach is beautiful, and the sunset is to die for. Visit the museum as staff was lovely and it possessed a lot of interesting info of this area. Just go, it was fun.

Limited metered parking

By LARRY H |

There are public access areas to the beach. The area is little less busy that just north. There are some shops, places to eat but plan on paying to park just about everywhere you stop. During busy times parking can be difficult to find

Pretty Beach

By Janna64 |

This is a nice beach and not quite as busy as others in this area. There is lots of parking along Gulf Blvd then you just walk over one of the little paths to the beach. I liked how it was not loud and crowded and the water and beach was very clean and pretty. I collected lots of lovely shells, watched birds and there were lots of wind surfers the day I was there so that was entertaining also. They don't have bathrooms or showers but do have little foot sprinklers to rinse your feet when you leave the beach

Get there early

By Teresa S |

Lots of people like to come to visit, so get there early (10am) to get an easy parking space. The beach is nice and narrow with lots of shells. There are local restaurants closeby for snacks and meals. The water is beautiful.

Early morning shell searching on a beautiful day!

By onthelakeWaxahachie |

Early on a Tuesday morning - before 8 am when parking is free - we set out to find shells. It was a great morning with only a few others out there. A perfect morning for shelling!

My favorite beach.

By Amy Marie T |

Beautiful white, soft sand beach. Gorgeous blue and green colored water. Very clean and not busy during the week.
We saw a dolphin swim up to the people very near the shore. Someone captured an orca whale in a photo 2 days after we were there.
There are beach rentals but expensive. Around $30 for 2 chairs.
I liked this beach more than Clearwater beach which is also very beautiful!

worth a visit

By dadatwork40 |

laid back and good restaurants close by. nice beach. did not like paying to park on the road, $2.25 per hour?

Beautiful beach

By Joanne M |

This is a gorgeous beach and out of the way a bit. There are restaurants within walking and also a small park with a bathroom. Lots of parking but in popular times you have to get there early in the day.

A terrific beach!

By Kerry F |

This beach is a regular stop when I'm visiting Gulfport. It's clean, never too crowded and has bathrooms and food! I love Pass-a-Grille Beach!

Yearly visit.

By Mark C |

We stay in StPete and always go to PG for breakfast and sightseeing in this rally laid back beautiful neighborhood

Favorite gulf town

By work2hard11 |

Such a great little gulf side town. Lots of restaurants and interesting shops. We visit every time we are in Florida

Nice little beach

By Brittany |

Last time we went it there was lots of construction going on, maybe trying to widen it. It is a small beach. Beach side cafe with live music, food and drinks and seating. Nice ice cream shops and restaurants.

Just OK

By GlassCity35 |

Like others have said parking is expensive. We stay down the way in St. Pete beach and end up taking the "free cab" or the golf cart taxi. Brass Monkey is fun, the Hurricane has great views but it is really run down and over priced. The beach is ok but busy most days. P-A-G is a quaint little area with a few ok places to eat. It's a nice area to take a run/walk in the morning.

Heaven on earth...we love PAG Beach

By garci1r |

PAG Beach is my new favorite beach. From the early morning sunrise on the bayside, to the sunsets over the Gulf, every day was beautiful during our time here. The peaceful, clean beach was a perfect place to unwind day after day. We enjoyed searching for sand dollars, playing in the water, and throwing the football...missing were the crowds, noise and trash that you find on so many beaches during spring break. We will be back someday soon!

Away from the overwhelming crowds

By Breton S |

This is a real beach that is not groomed and cleaned like the others nearby. The sand is full of shells. You will not believe all the shells on the beach. We had fun strolling along the beach and looking at shells and sand dollars.

Fun little place

By Duckiekj |

We walked all around. Had dinner at Hurricanes on the second level open area. Great burger
Had breakfast at the Seahorse- try the grits

Weekend visit

By Audrey M |

Great visit. Very walkable. Small town feel, beach across the street.
Would love to return with other friends. I hope they can keep the old Florida feel.

Beautiful and quiet

By 1sneakypete |

We spent several hours just walking around and having lunch. It was very quiet and beautiful. I expect it could be a wonderful stay

Lovely trip

By stephanie s |

Quiet and relaxing and warm! Just enough delicious spots around to eat out occasionally. Beach is beautiful wide and flat - no walking up or down a slope to get there. Beautiful shells too.

Come for the sunsets stay for the atmosphere

By S Larson |

Pass-a-Grille is a treasure to be discovered. Such a fun drive down Gulf Blvd to the pristine beaches and beautiful sunsets.

Girls trip

By Quilter56 |

It is such a nice area to spend a day and nite ,just taking in the sites and little shops. Its easy to get around and love going there to eat and shop

Beautiful sandy beach

By Carol A L |

Get here early.....paid parking on the street goes fast as tourists from surrounding St Pete Beach arrive. Nice gentle waves with small slope into gulf. Beautiful sunsets. NIce restaurants in the area.

I would love to live there.

By Jay1012013 |

What a great little area! Beautiful beach, great shopping and plenty of dining options for breakfast to fine dining.

Great food at Paradise Grill on the beach

By RobinBeth |

This is a lovely beach. I love to eat at Paradise Grill which is directly on the beach. Their grouper wraps are fantastic. The rest rooms are clean and open to the public. Best to have the ParkMobile app handy as the parking machines can be tricky and don't accept cash.

A Perfect Spot for Relaxation and Sunsets

By Trevor Yager |

Pass-a-Grille Beach is a fantastic destination for drinks, dining, or just spending a relaxing day by the water. The beach itself is beautiful, and the atmosphere is laid-back, making it a great place to unwind.

One unique feature is the dog beach, so you can bring your furry family member along for the fun. It’s also one of the best spots to catch a sunset—pair it with a delicious cocktail from one of the nearby bars, and you’ve got a perfect evening.

Parking is usually available, though it’s not free, so plan accordingly. Whether you’re there for lunch, dinner, or simply to enjoy the sand and surf, Pass-a-Grille Beach is well worth a visit.

Very nice area but greedy.

By Axel D |

This is a very nice area to visit. I say greedy on my title because there is not a single spot to park your car where you do not have to pay and IMO that is not too welcoming. Especially if you just want to stop to take a photo of the beach. The only free parking we found was reserved for specific places. In addition, the little shops in the area are very expensive for what you are buying.

My favorite beach!!

By theteresa |

I have visited this beach many times and always come back! Warm and welcoming, not too crowded. Gentle waves. My favorite for sure.

Perfect Shelling Beach hands down!

By BbarnettBBC55 |

Not only does this beach have sugary white sand and beautiful clear water, it has miles and miles of shells! We have found fighting conchs shells (empty of course) in beautiful oranges and browns, pink scallop shells, an occasional un broken sand dollar, horse conchs, lightening conchs, olives, starfish, and many others.
There not a lot of beach bars on passagrille which makes it a great family spot. But if you travel north pass the Don Cesar there are great beach bars: at the Bon Aire motel (steel band drums on Sunday afternoons), , Bongos beach bar (feet in the sand while eating), Tradewinds, Toasted Monket, Jimmy Bs (great sunset spot) and PCI (younger adults).

Wonderful location

By tiffanykuhn |

Perfect, quiet part of the island, no commercial places. Wonderful beach and great local places to eat. The Wharf is our favorite!

Great sunset

By twilcox27 |

Best view of the sunset in the St. Pete beach area. Quietly busy with everything you need from condo rentals to restaurants and overnight accommodations. There’s plenty of parking and it’s right on the beach.

Delightful place !!

By Traveling Coach |

My wife and I went to St Pete Beach recently and visited friends in Pass-a-Grille (or PAG as they call it in Florida). It is a delightful area, highly walkable with lovely restaurants, beautiful homes and views and a laid back, comfortable lifestyle. Simply put..........we could live here......and might. Our friends recently bought a house here and love it. With most people working from home now, it makes sense to be in a relaxed place with natural beauty. PAG certainly qualifies. For great views while eating, the Paradise Grill there is phenomenal unless you are attacked by a hungry seagull (even that is not too bad here). Love to spend more time here and will do so soon. I would recommend it but if I do I am afraid you will like it too and may be competing with us on a home purchase (LOL).

Towards Summer end

By Sujith I |

This beach is so quite that you will always have a quiet day at the Beach. The Road takes you to Don Cesar and Madeira beach.Critters is a real good Resturant real close by and they are very Friendly.

Visit Pass-a-Grille

By Lou & Bernie B |

Great music on the beach every week-end and great people to see and places to dine. Enjoy the flea market every Saturday & Sunday for great buys.

A Seashell Haven!

By Jen4h2o |

This beach is a gem if you love shelling! We went to Pass-a-Grille Southwest Beach and the dog beach at the southern tip of the peninsula. Right at that spot - the end of the peninsula (you have to navigate some rocks) - is a treasure trove of seashells! The beach and dog beach are lovely as well.

A beautiful beach

By Juli C |

This is a gorgeous, more secluded part of The St Pete Beach area. You might see yoga or a church service on the beach while you are there. There are also plenty of great places to eat within walking distance.

RED TIDE Surrounding PASS-A-GRILLE

By kittymcdivot |

DEAD FISH, brown water, dead birds, smell is sickening. Not somewhere you want to spend a vacation. This will go on forever after they dumped millions of gallons of toxic waste into the bay. Bulldozing sand over dead fish doesn't make the poison go away.....

Girls afternoon out

By Ellyn S |

Spent an afternoon with a friend who moved to FL and retired. Wanted to take a walk on the beach while in FL so she brought me to this beach. It happened to be a windy day but was a lovely beach with quite a few kite sailors have a great time enjoying the windy day. It was fun watching them We had fish tacos at the Paradise Grill right on the beach and they were great. Parking was right in front of the beach and there was plenty of parking. There are kiosks to pay for parking but sometimes the parking is free as it was when we were there. There was a man playing guitar by the restaurant with a jar for tips. He was great. And there are arts and crafts vendors at the plaza where the grill is. All in all a lovely way to spend the afternoon.

We always go here and love it!!

By Connie B |

Mark and I came here specifically for breakfast today. We always liked the wraps we have gotten for lunch do got here early just because of that. I got the BELT sandwich with bacon, lettuce, tomato, and egg. Delish! Mark got an omelet with home fries. We were very happen as usual with our food and service! We will be back!

Beautiful sunset

By destinawoof |

Loved the sunset over the ocean here. Clear water soft sand. Narrow beach. Beautiful shops & restaurants.

Best beach to get away from crowds

By teamreg23 |

We love St Pete beaches and Pass-a-Grille is a hidden gem away from the traffic and crowds. Great spacious beach and ample parking most days. Nice places to eat as well.

Fun Place to Visit

By Lainey G |

Pass a grille is a lovely little spot on the tip of the barrier island. There are lots of cute shops and restaurants, including the famous Hurricane restaurant with roof top dining overlooking the ocean. We enjoyed a little beach bar right on the sand. Great grouper bites!!

Beautiful!

By The Frank Family |

Cute stretch of beach! Not a lot of people, but also no lifeguards. Lots of benches to sit, and a place to wash off your feet when you leave. Lots of cute hotels, restaurants, and piers.

Enjoyed this beach

By Dewdropp |

Nice beach. Nice area. Wasn’t super crowded when we went early afternoon. A nice alternative to the crowded packed beaches.

Best Burgers on The Beach

By Karen G |

Easily accessed on the beach, best burgers , fast service. One of the bartenders was from TEMPLE University ( Go Owls)

Beautiful

By MTB-Illinois |

The beaches are beautiful! Plenty of parking close to the beach (for a fee) and sunsets are not to be missed.

Breakfast and sunsets

By Michael P |

We went for breakfast at the Paradise Grille. Had the burritos and bloody’s. Both were good and we’d come back.
They had live music and local flea market style shopping right next to it.
The sunsets are amazing in this area

Wonderful beach

By Missyl |

Best beach in Florida. Shells shells shells. Great shops. If you are she’ll speaker go to very end of the isle. Cute snavkbar in main part of beach. Wonderful scenery and great cottages

Easy parking, fun beach, great eateries

By Rox T |

Love the ease of parking here. That said, arrive early. It's on street parking and a relatively short walk to the Gulf of Mexico. We like to park by the gift shop and full snack/lunch café. There are often art festivals, live music and a paddle boarding dog here. The beaches took a hit with the hurricanes last year but have been replenished. There are Adirondack chairs by the café, plenty of seating, and palm trees. It's a long beach for walking but short between road and water. The water is gorgeous here. The food is reasonably priced. there are lots of fun bars/pubs/restaurants in the area, within walking distance. Don Ce Sar is on the way to and from the beach and the rest of St. Pete Beach is there for the enjoying. October is the best time to visit - warm waters, not too crowded, before the snow birds arrive.

Gorgeous area

By ann h |

Pass-a-Grille is a very nice area to visit. It has a nice beach and quaint little shops. It's a very clean area with beautiful homes.

Love this area

By John H |

Beautiful beach at Pass a Grille . Been coming for years from the UK. What else can I say about our favourite beach in Florida.

I found my happy place!

By Oceanlover12545 |

Pass-a-grille is peaceful, beautiful and loaded with wildlife. I have visited Pass-A-Grille twice. Family just purchased a home here. I plan to return as soon and as often as possible!

Best small seaside town

By Lisa P |

The nicest little seaside town around. They have a lovely little area where there are comfy Adirondack chairs and a great bar selling breakfast, lunch and dinner. The first day we just had a coffee and watched the families play on the beach. The next morning we went back for breakfast. We were there at 8am when they opened which was great as they get really busy! The food was really good and reasonably priced. There is loads of parking and the vibe of the town is so very relaxed.

Terrific sunsets

By hankg1217 |

By far, my favorite beach.
You can walk the beach or the sidewalk along the street. They also have a snack stand right in the middle of the length of the beach, very convenient.

Wonderful

By Margaret F |

We went two times and sat by the beach and listened to the music. Beautiful place would recommend. Saw dolphins swimming right by shore

..a pleasant surprise...

By Adam D. King |

...just past The Don Cesar headed to the lower numbered streets of St. Pete is Pass-A-Grille. It’s very obvious that you’ve crossed over into a more calm area with less people, nice fishing, great food, coffee, cute little residential streets with shops and beautiful beach access. It almost resembles the flats in Beverly Hills with pretty palms inning the streets. To experience everything on a rented scooter with open air and plenty of room on the roads because less people equals less traffic. If you visit St. Pete Beach, check out south of The Don.

Nice place to hang out !

By dave a |

We went here to spend the day at the beach. The sand was great but the water cold not many people swimming but many laying out. There was a guy with lounge chairs for $ 5 so we rented 2 for the day. They also offered other activities. You have to pay to park but well worth it we paid like $4.50 for 4 hours or so. Credit card only.

One of My Favorites

By TropicalFocus |

This is one of my favorite beaches. Especially for sunset. I also do many family vacation portraits here too. The beach is long and narrow with shade trees by Paradise Cafe along with restrooms. There are walkovers to cross the dunes so they don’t get harmed. Restaurants abound in the neighborhood too.

Peaceful seaside area

By foodie2Prospect_KY |

Beautiful , quiet family beach. Great area and small town atmosphere. Very peaceful area for relaxing!
Nice wide sidewalks for walking with a narrow beach area. Very short walk to the sea!

Birthday getaway

By rnathaniel |

My husband and I visited for a little birthday and Christmas celebration as both of our birthdays are in December. We were able to scoot away (thank you to my wonderful in-laws for watching our boys!!) for a few days and, once again, enjoyed the historic Pass-A-Grille area. It’s one of our most favorite vacation spots. We absolutely love the quaintness. It’s quiet and not super busy. Very walkable and the beach is beautiful! We really enjoy sitting on the outdoor patio, up top at Brass Monkey and indulging in a cocktail and crab dip pretzel!!

We always look forward to our trips down to St. Pete Beach and Pass-A-Grille!

Love the small beach and dog park!

By surfercharlie |

We happened upon this wonderful little dog park and beach by accident. What a wonderful surprise!!! My wife is a serious sheller, and dubbed this little spit of sand the best shelling beach she has ever visited. We both enjoyed the dogs frolicking in the water. We met many very friendly local residents. Planned on stopping for a few minutes. Ended up staying a few hours!

Fun!

By Kelly |

Have been to Pass-a-Grille many times...first time with grandchildren and the beach does not disappoint. Wide and clean....amazing soft white sand. Simply a gorgeous place for everyone and especially little people looking to dig in the sand, look for sea shells, watch people fishing and enjoy being on a non-commercial beach... however there are chairs and umbrellas for rent. Lots of street side parking and a nice artisan market at the beach bar on Saturday mornings.

Beautiful area

By MitchfamGA |

The Pass-a-Grille area is one of the prettiest areas of Florida we have ever been too. Its like you take a step back into Old Florida and its wonderful. From the beaches, to the shops, to the pier...awesome place.

Great place to visit, eat at, vacation. Clear waters and amazing Sunsets

By Eeyor3 |

I always love the beach in Pass-A-Grille, it is close to parking and several locations to eat at. Sunsets are amazing to watch here. The area has many hotels to stay at and I even use them to vacation here even though I only live 30 minutes away just so I don't have to leave for a weekend.

Sweet, small beach town. Has a very nice beach. The town has a handful of fun shops, local artist's gallery, a historic museum, and a couple of varied restaurants.

A small town with a long and rich history

By Taylor B |

Pass-a-Grille is a neighborhood at the southern end of St. Petersburg Beach, Florida, a small beach town that has turned into a popular destination for locals and tourists with its restaurants, trendy retail shops and boutiques, ice cream parlors, art markets, tennis courts, fishing piers and expansive beach. The area around Pass-a-Grille has been inhabited by Native Americans for thousands of years and was first discovered by Spanish explorers in 1528. It became a popular destination for locals when an entrepreneur, John Gomez, invited travelers from St. Petersburg and Tampa to stay at his resort-like structure as early as 1857. A hotel was opened in 1901 and plots of land for homes were sold and developed. The first schoolhouse was opened in 1915. In 1957, Pass-a-Grille was incorporated into the city of St. Petersburg. In 1989, it was recognized as a National Register Historic District. The Gulf Beaches Historical Museum gives visitors a history of the area.

Beautiful

By MamaC |

What a great beach to visit! The sand is beautiful, white, and full of shells. I was surprised there weren't more people taking advantage of the option of dinner on the beach and a beautiful sunset. Fun bars across the street with second story views.

If I could live anywhere it would be Pass a Grille

By betsiern |

The Seahore, the Merry Pier, Bamboozled ( the best store ever) the beautiful beach and great seashells!

Mile Long Sandy Stretch of Beautiful Family Beach..Usually Lots of Shelling As Well!

By Alan Z |

There are many beaches in the area we live in. When we want to look for shells, this is one of the places. Try to get here about 30 minutes prior to low tide for the best shelling opportunities. There is street parking along the the complete beach. It is not free. The meters do take credit cards and the cost is $2.75 per hour. Free parking off side streets is very limited and almost non existent. There are also two shower and changing locations along the beach, as well as several restaurants and bar some with rooftop bars to watch the sunset at nightfall towards the south end of the beach. You will find more families here than other beaches like Clearwater Beach which has a much vibrant scene.

Quiet, lovely

Love the boutiques and the Seahorse - great local hangout. The view at Hurricane is amazing at sunset. Go have a cocktail.

Such a peaceful place.

By Jill S |

We visited pass a grille mid morning as read that it had shops and beach etc. Dropped off by uber there were about 6 shops so initially disappointed but has a walk around and realised what an amazingly beautiful place this was. We had lunch at the hurricane and really enjoyed it. Pelicans on the side walk.

Amazing beach!

By Fanny L |

The sand is perfect, the beach is clean, the parking is easy, o just have good things to say about this place! I love it and will definitely go back!

Like your own private beach

By Bookmom17 |

Walked down from one of the large hotels further north. This was so lovely, it felt like a private beach, very clean and quiet. Just a really nice place to relax and take in the beauty.

Quiet During Summer

By renardj2015 |

After a "Today Show" segment highlighting the west coast of Florida, I asked my girlfriend to research places other than our regular Naples and Sanibel places. She found a great inn on this small spit of land. It is beautiful and almost empty during summer. the restaurants were amazing in taste and price.

Nice Beach

By Keith J |

We were there again this morning. Nice place to pick up shells if interested. Surf has been rough and the gulf had a muddy look today. Nice Beach just to go walk on and soak up sun.

Old world Florida

By judylT5849GY |

Great beach area with restaurants, little shops and a Central Park. This seems like it hasn’t quite developed the way other areas have leaving it feeling like a true vacation where one can just relax, slow down and spend the day in the sun.

Quick great away

Nice beach to watch sunset. Great white sands family oriented beach.
Ocean view from this side is awesome too! Cute shops in the area.

Holiday

By Jane K |

Excellent place to stay, been here X3. Beaches are superb! (We stayed 13th Street) Swam in beautiful warm sea, walked on white sand. Saw Dolphins in the distance & pelicans too! On the other side of the island we fished had caught quite a few with our small fishing rods ( we put the fish back in the sea) and chatted to local folk. We even saw a fella catch a hammer head shark X2!!!! And saw Dolphins swim past us!!! Beautiful buildings. Excellent regular bus service, we used day passes $5 unlimited travel within a vast area.

BEAUTIFUL BEACH AND SEASIDE AREA!

By Deborah Buchanan |

Pass-A-Grille Beach is amazing! Beautiful white sand and the calm Gulf of Mexico plus the bay make this little seaside paradise the total package. It is truly the perfect place where you are steps from the ocean and the bay. There is a great boardwalk right ont the ocean with shops, restaurants, and cute little shops! The inviting cobblestone roads and seaside cottages take you back in time. There is even a doggie beach for your pet to enjoy. We love Pass-A-Grille beach! You will too!

Gate to Hell! RUN!!!

By beth0217 |

My husband and I visited Galene's Paradise last weekend and we were especially interested as it was advertised as a “FUN Gift Shop”! FUN is the last thing I would think of after visiting this dark, dirty and dingy (cat stench) “gift shop”. I can't imagine living in a place so beautiful and waking up with a snare each morning! This woman (owner??) was extremely condescending with each question asked. Should have followed my intuition as I immediately had a bad feeling when we walked through the gate. If we had known it was the gate to hell, we would have run the other way! This “owner” was extremely rude to us as well to other customers. We couldn't wait to get out of there! Even as we left the store, she chased us down the sidewalk screaming!!

Relaxing atmosphere

Amazing strip of Sandy beach. Great are for walks, bicycling, just hang out s wait for beautiful sunset!!

Beautiful beach

By Anthony P |

Visited for the morning had coffee and lunch and walked on the lovely beach and back via the boardwalk. The lunch was most enjoyable, the beach cafe provides an excellent menu, good service and you can eat overlooking the beach on picnic tables. Of note is the excellent breakfast they provide.
Good beach for shell seeking.

Peaceful Walk

By RebeccaN1 |

Even though it is a peaceful area, it is very expensive to park. All parking spots are metered. We have been coming for years and parking wasn't an issue. Not all restaurants offer free-parking. It is easier to ride my bike!!

Fun little beach town

By Laura H |

This beach and town is at the end of the road.....very quaint town with a few casual places to eat and drink and nice beach area.

Beachy

By Justine R |

Clear, turquoise water, pretty sand. Very narrow beach but long. Very busy on Saturday. Near shops. Would definitely go back.

Worth the short drive

By chocolateandwine |

This is a lovely beach, not crowded, not touristy, lots of shells and soft sand. It was recommended to us by a local, and it felt like a local's secret. Granted, it wasn't super warm when we were there, so we may have just hit it on the right day.

Day off at the beach:)

Beautiful, classic beach day! Perfect location, lots of great restaurants including Hurricane rooftop. (Thanks Cameron for great service!)..best beach in pinellas, bar none...

Beautiful beach for a chill day!

By Kelly Faysash |

Awesome beach! Very relaxed, low key, and peaceful. Amazing beach bar with great and strong drinks and yummy eats. Parking is super easy and not a ton of sand to trudge through. Great beach for families and couples.

Beautiful section of the Gulf Coast

By Curtis W |

We took the bus from Indian Rocks up the coast to explore the area. It was very busy, but a beautiful section of the beach. There was a great spot with washrooms, snacks and drinks available right close by which made enjoying an afternoon there much more enjoyable.

Sunset

We went to watch the sunset at the Paradise bar on the beach. We had a dinner and drinks. Very pretty and the homes are beautiful.

Beautiful beach

By mudell |

Beautiful beach. Cute town. Parking was a predominantly paid meters. We went to the pier and had shaved ice at Brass Monkey.

Great Beach!

By Lisa |

This beach is my favorite beach on the gulf coast. It’s a little strip of heaven. Parking on the same side of the beach, not a long walk to get to the water and nice family atmosphere. Come early on the weekends to get a parking spot though.

Love This Beach

Our favourite beach in the St. Pete area. Sometimes it can be difficult to find parking and presently the municipality has some street closures but you can easily navigate around them.

An old-time Florida beach town

By Taylor B |

Pass-a-Grille Beach is paradise at the southernmost end of St. Petersburg Beach, Florida, a quaint, laid back, old Florida beach town with boutiques, outdoor art markets, restaurants, rooftop bars, tennis courts, fishing piers and a big sandy beach. It's historic, too. For 10,000 years, Native Americans fished the waters of what later became Pass-a-Grille. The area was first visited by Europeans in 1528 when the Spanish explorer Panfilo de Narvaez anchored off Pass-a-Grille pass. The island was used as a campground for fishermen to obtain fresh water and grill their catch. Today, historic 8th Avenue contains the oldest dwellings on the Pinellas County beaches. Located on the southern tip of Long Key, a 20-minute drive from downtown St. Petersburg, on the Gulf of Mexico, Pass-a-Grille wasn't settled by a homesteader until 1886. By the turn of the century, it had its first hotel and ferry boat service. Today, it is a tourist mecca, just south of the famous Don CeSar Hotel, which dates to the 1920s. To learn about Pass-a-Grille's history, stop at the Gulf Beaches Historical Museum at 115 10th Avenue in nearly St. Petersburg Beach. Meanwhile, there is so much to see and do in Pass-a-Grille. For food and drinks, visit the Brass Monkey, The Dewey, Grace, The Hurricane, Paradise Grille, Paradise Sweets, Paradise To Go, The Sea Horse, the Maritana Grille in the Don CeSar Hotel and Red, White & Booze. Shoppers will enjoy A Little Room for Art, Paradiso, Island Life, Evander Preston, Galene's Paradise, Dody Beach Boutique and Bamboozle & Etc. What do I remember most about Pass-a-Grille? I once got the most painful sunburn of my life while reading a book on the beach. I had forgotten to apply suntan lotion.

Quiet and relaxing

By friskel |

Pass-a-Grille beach is the least crowded beach. It's towards the end of the chain of beaches (Clearwater, Maidera, St. Pete Beach, etc). It's mostly residential so you don't have to fight with hotel traffic. We rented an umbrella/chairs near the Paradise Grille and hung out there all day. The water is clear and you can walk out for ages and it's only waist deep. Very clean and quiet (though we did go during the week). We noticed on Friday that traffic did pick up a bit so if you want good parking go by 10am.

Great Sunset!

By Randy B |

Excellent place to watch the sunset and play i the surf. The parking is right on the beach, just a short walk to the sand. There are a few restaurant's near the beach and one on the beach side. There is a city park with small public restrooms across the street. Great place to hangout for the afternoon.

Best Sunsets

By catelynn@gmail.com |

This is my favorite place to go for sunsets. Go to Paradise grill for a drink and set at the tables and relax.

Nice busy beach

By Starviagera |

There are about 10 meters of beach between dune and water . You have to pay for parking. No picnic tables. Nice if you get a room across the street

Relaxing beach walks

By Regulator70 |

I love this beach for morning and evening beach walks. Yes the beach is busy during normal summer beach hours, but during non peak season, I enjoy this beach.

Sea Shells @ Pass-a-Grill

By Melanie V |

We spent a great afternoon hunting for sea shells and walking the beach. It was a great location! The only advice I would give is to park close to the park which has access to bathrooms. It’s a long walk if you are far away.

Unexpected surprise!

By ellenh0 |

So glad I got to visit here this past weekend, it is beautiful! The beach had a wonderful assortment of shells and they were plentiful! It was a clean and very wide beach. It’s perfect for a morning walk or run, actually any time of day would be great to be on this beach. The town itself is very walkable with slopes and restaurants and bars close by.

Come for a swim, Stay for the Sunset!

By HappyEmptynesting |

Wonderful quiet beach in a quaint town at the southern tip of St. Pete Beach! We love that there's no high rises, no traffic lights, no chain restaurants, only quaint homes and condos and a clean beach with plentiful public parking. There are a handful of waterfront restaurants in the area and sidewalks for strolling along enjoying the sea breeze. Perfect spot to get away and truly decompress!

Beautiful sunset

By Maria Vitoria C |

Easy parking access and beautiful sands and water. Perfect place to watch the sunset year-round. Picnics here are great as well

Not as crowed as other beaches, and Lots of shells

By SL L |

Best beach in the stretch for finding full shells. Go on an a.m. dawn morning when the tide is going out.
By the beach, lots of family & adult resturants and adult drinks

Fishing on MISS PASS A GRILLE

By Tempheaven |

Captain Randy and his crew of two plus Labrador provided a fun half day of fishing on the Gulf of Mexico. He pointed out dolphins on our way out to the fishing spots, taught us each how to use the reels and poles for best results. His friendly crew happily baited our hooks, brought in our catch and were helpful in every way! We plan to return. We had a blast!

Great Beach

By Love Life |

Very Clean and we felt safe. Lots of families and curly shells. Parking was easy and there was a great place to have lunch. We were there on a Saturday and a little market was set up. Super fun.

Old Florida

By aarrrghwilliams |

Grew up in south St. Pete & this was the beach we always went to. Nice Old Florida residential feel. Not commercialized in the least, but with great restaurants and small shops. I'd like to off kept this little place a secret, but word has gotten out.

Candy to the Eyes

By Madelyn Arion |

Candy to the eyes… this beach is a everything you think of when you think of florida beaches. Pass-A-Grille is some of the clearest water in the St. Petersburg area. Although it is a public beach, it can feel very much like a private beach depending on the time of visit. I’ve enjoyed 10+ beach days here and have enjoyed every moment. Great beach for children, couples, groups, or solo.

Great Florida Pristine Beach

By katie c |

I really Love Pass-a-Grille Beach because it is still very lovely and has a small town feeling compared to the traffic and crowds at Clearwater.
The parking is right off the beach with pay stations and you do not park far away. The beach is that white powdery sand and the ocean has a sand bar that goes way out that you can walk on. It is very relaxing and beautiful! They have a snack bar take out on the beach and some restaurants across the street. Still very laid back but I hesitate to give this review because I want it to be a peaceful place to enjoy. Please if you read this respect this beautiful place!

A gem of a Florida Gulf coast city

By sctmster |

This is truly old Florida. The beaches are gorgeous. The bayside offers beautiful views and beautiful birds. The local restaurants are very good. There is a big deli that offers pre made meals to be prepared at home or hotel. Sunsets are a daily treat.

Pretty Area

By ServicesConsultant |

This is a nice area in the southern part of St. Petersburg, but for us nothing particularly special.

Very Nice Beach

By Steve |

We went to Pass-a-Grille Beach on a spur of the moment day trip and found it to be a quiet and peaceful beach. Paradise Grille is beach front and we had a drink their while watching the waves and boats and being serenaded by a solo guitar and singer. Later we went across the street and had dinner on the rooftop of Hurricane Restaurant and watched a gorgeous sunset. We are definitely going to return as it was not crowded and there are additional restaurants and shops we want to visit.

Attentive Service at the Bar and Had a Great Burger

If you want a touch of KeyWest around St Pete, then this beach is the place to go. Friendly people everywhere you go and the beach is one of the prettiest anywhere. Fabulous sunsets! Worth the visit

Great beach with small town feel

By Les L |

Pass-a-Grille feels like its own little town even though it's part of St. Pete Beach. The area is quiet and the beach is large and clean.

Seemed like a great place

By yellowpixels |

It really seemed like a great place but unfortunately it rained the day we went which kind of put the kabash on the whole beach thing. Looked clean and inviting.

It was a wonderful little drive to see the sites. The houses were super cute. The Brass Monkey came highly recommended.

lots of shells along the beach, wish we would have worn our water shoes to walk on beach. Less crowded and lots of parking (that you have to pay for) along access points.

By Pug17 |

Nice little place on the beach. I had a great shrimp omelette. The staff was friendly and a beautiful view.

Great Beachfront!

We did our very best hunting for seashells here at Pass-a-Grille. Ample parking, very cute little square on the center of the skinny peninsula, wonderful restaurants and shops. Adorable.

Very Quiet and Easy to Get Around

By Lynne0725 |

This was my third visit to Pass-a-Grille. We came to visit my uncle who has lived in Pass-a-Grille for many years. What I like most about Pass-a-Grille is that it is easy to maneuver. We were within walking distance to the beach (uncrowded and clean), restaurants, and the quaint downtown area. The whole town feels homey. This is my idea of a relaxing vacation spot.

Hidden gem

By pollyelrod |

We discovered Pass-a-Grille while walking on the beach and then cut through to the community. Lovely area right at the end of the peninsula.

Great place for shells

By Broncogirl |

This beach was so nice and less people. Have to pay for parking..
But we found so many shells is was the best beach to find shell we even found a sand dollar only 1 tho was washed up on the beach..
So we stayed in clear water and made this drive for shells def worth it..
Also go all the way to the end of the island the last beach..

Pass-a-grill beach

By Ruby B |

Extremely over crowded. Restaurant on beach are ok nothing spectacular. Customer service could use some help.
Went to a roof top bar and it took 40 minutes to get a cocktail. Welcome to FL!

Hidden gem of area

By Shana |

One of my favorite beaches. A hidden gem. Beautiful water. Often clear. Great shells. There are large rocks on left side of pier.

The real PARADISE!

By 274joycet |

Some talk of paradise, but PASS-A-GRILLE is the real deal…the sugar sand beach with crystal clear turquoise water, surrounded by billions of beautiful unique shells. Love the semi short piers about every couple blocks. A walk down the beach to about 10th street to paradise grill, great food and amazing slushy drinks, and on Sunday there were the cutest little souvenir vendors…the one thing I keep learning is get there extra early! The review I read said by 11:30am to get a spot, not so, to pick your spot, at least by 9-10am…I live in Florida, being a beachaholic, I’ve been to many amazing beaches, this is my fav…

Meh...

By Beccy J |

Quiet beach where most people sat out on beach chairs. Has a marina on the other side of the peninsula where some were fishing.
Parking was expensive.
A few places to drink/ eat.
Not blown away by it

Pass on this beach....

By 1RaiderFan |

With all the other beaches around, I was unimpressed with this one. First of all it cost more to park here than the surrounding beaches. The seashore is filled with shells, which is cool for the first half an hour but after that you missed the white sugary sand of the beaches nearby. We went to see what the hype was but didn’t find it.

Quite part of St. Pete and quiet beach.

By ju1234125 |

Pass-a-grille: Beach is even quieter. Less developed / maintained beach. No big hotels except for Don Cesar which is right at the north end of Pass-a-grille. Mostly residential condos and perhaps some small condo type hotels. I met several people who were residing there and were regulars coming every year for a month or more.

One of the best, most beautiful beaches in St. Pete's.

By Wanderer238253 |

This beach is one of our favorites. Shelling and just relaxing are the best!!!! Restaurants, even the beach grill, are great!!! Bring your chairs and an umbrella and just enjoy the scenery.

You do have to pay for parking but it's worth it!!!

A perfect beach

By Elvira D |

Pass-a-Grille is small-town like community located between a white sandy beach and marina. Very low-key, no giant resorts, just small hotels, beautiful homes and apartments, and a few restaurants. The beach is never crowded, the water beautiful, and there is good parking, but if you stay in Pass-a-Grille, it is only a few steps from most homes. Loved it!

Great food, awesome view

By ofmyheart |

Small waterfront sports bar type atmosphere restaurant, favorite of locals. Open-aired, great food, with dockage and parking.

A Lovely Day!

By LivingTheDreamGirl |

We arrived at Pass-a-Grille Beach at 9am. Plenty of parking. Don’t come later unless it is 4pm. Then you’ll be there for the sunset on the beach. Beautiful, peaceful, and definitely not crowded! Great place for a stroll on the beach and a picnic lunch!

Worth a quick visit if in town.

Great day with nature!!!!

By DownShore888 |

This is an amazing beach and it's right here in the USA. White sand a clear blue water. Very light wave action and lots of shells so very good for small kids. There is food and drink if needed. The highlight of the day??? MANATEES!!!

Two smaller manatees come right in to where we were swimming. they got very close and because the water is so clear, you could watch them slowly swim right by. They would come up to the surface to breathe and then head back down. We knew better than to touch or disturb the manatees, as did just about everyone else. There were a few selfish people who didn't listen to repeated calls to leave them alone, but they would pet them and rub their bellies, and even appeared to hang on while it swam. NOT COOL!!!! My wife and I were lucky enough to witness 3 passes of the manatees so we were grateful for the experience.

Nice beach with amenities

By Pharman007 |

Pass a Grille is a cute beach on the Gulf with decent amount of parking , a snack stand with platters which are good and changing rooms and bathrooms all together. There is a small wall you can sit on or bench seats facing the water. Plus seating if you are eating. It is a close walk to the water.

Old Florida Feel

By Mark G |

1st settled in 1886,it became part of St Pete Beach in 1957 and sections declared a National Historic District in 1989. It is a interesting mix of many styles and some places like the Wharf, have a great old time Florida feel. The beach at Pass-a-Grille is great and there are many shops, bars, and restaurants. Located there is the Gulf Beaches Historical Museum and the beautiful stunning pink Don CeSar Hotel at the unofficial entrance to Pass-a-Grille.

Still a nice place to go

By synnøve s |

We’ve been visiting since 99. Came to SPB after finding Clearwater too noisy and too busy and fell in love with this place. Even though the beaches are much more crowded now, especially during the weekend it is still a nice place to go. I just wish people would take their trash with them home and/ or the city would start using some better ways of cleaning the beach every day. Not just for the people coming but for the wildlife and the marine life.

Best part of the trip

By ily4ever |

We were staying at sirata and decided to see how far the trolley takes you along the coast. We first took it to pass a Grille, and it was the most beautiful part of our trip! The beach was beautiful and clean, the stores and restaurants where fun,and the people we met along the way were great! We now know for next time, where we would like to stay. It's nice that its quieter than the stretch of hotels along st pete beach...

Awesome Wedding Reception

By Beach Travelers |

We chose the Hurricane for our wedding reception since we were getting married on Pass a Grille Beach. We met with the manager (Russ) 6 months in advance and set up the initial plans and finalized the plans a few weeks before our wedding. There were plenty of food and drink options available for our 100 guests. We had some additional requests and Russ was able to accommodate all of them. On our wedding day, Russ and the staff handled everything for us from receiving the flowers, cake, assisting the DJ, etc. The 2nd floor was arranged and decorated beyond our expectations. Russ and the staff were fantastic throughout our reception and the food was beyond great! We can’t say enough good things about our experience and we highly recommend The Hurricane for your next event. Bruce & Jennifer - St Pete Beach

Best Beaches in the Area

Great water

By Harry W |

Great beach and friendly town, step back to old Florida, many options for food and lodging. Easy rapid transportation with bus system.

Beautiful little waterfront!

By demastersd |

With Bay on one side and gulf on the other, this beachy spot is at the very tip of St. Petersburg Island. Cute cottages nestle cutely between the few blocks between water sources. There are mounds of tiny shells everywhere on the gulf side and plenty of bulkhead fishing on the other. If you head back toward st Pete just a few blocks on the gulf side, you will find public restrooms, open air bands, food and drink stand, picnic tables, and other public seating. On weekends they have markets. I will definitely come back here one day!

Nice small beach town

We were only here for one day, but it is a really clean small beach town. Nice place to visit for swimming and restaurants. I recommend stopping in if close by.

A nice beach with a few shops

By Cameron1946 |

Except for paying to park here this is a nice beach. It's a brief walk from the parking area over the dunes. However there are no bathrooms in the Rea and no shade or tables to eat a picnic lunch

Rip Current Awareness-Don't swim near piers or jetty.

Educate yourself on how to survive rip currents before you go. No life guards on duty so it's swim at your own risk and I lost a friend there due to rip current.

Full of smaller shells, wear shoes!

By Nicola M |

Good place to find small shells and walk. It’s very sharp under foot so recommend wearing shoes to get down to the water. Not the best beach along this part of the coast but nice for a trip out.

Paid parking so don’t get caught out!

Walkable, Beachable and Comfortable

Friends suggested this get-a-way. We are so glad we took their advise. So many wonderful restaurants, beach access points, well maintained properties and cute shops. Something here for nearly every taste-/ unless you want wild and crazy. This is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of work. We love this!

Almost Surreal

By Irina |

Pass-a-Grille is all about being away from big, incessant commercialism.

It is a small resort town on the southern end of St Pete Beach, and there's nothing around it, but the gorgeous Gulf of Mexico and the beautiful intracoastal waters of Tampa Bay.

Pass-a-Grille is all about the escape - to its small streets, to tiny art galleries, to the Gulf Beaches Historical Museum, to the Hurricane restaurant (and many other restaurants and cafes), to posh boutiques, to Merry Pier with determined fishermen and some insatiable - and no less determined - egrets and pelicans, to the ever-busy-and-ever-bustling Paradise Grille bar (good beer, great burgers), and the cool Art Mart nearby with relaxing and pleasant live music.

And then of course, there's the beach itself, that is as white and as great and beautiful as many other beaches in Pinellas County.

There are no high-rises in this town of sixteen thousand people. And the hotels and condos in Pass-a-Grille are usually small-sized, but nicely priced, and local people are very friendly.

I always visit this cute, particular town, when I am in the area. It makes me feel very happy, cheerful and welcome.

For me, Pass-a-Grille is like a slower version of rag, played on a lower key during the daytime.

Quiet Spot

By Victor G |

Just a bit South of St Pete Beach, we found this beach to be a little less crowded and quieter. Def worth a trip!

Beautiful

By SofiaJara10 |

It is not my first visit to Passagrille, and as always I loved it. Since my last visit, I noticed there are more parking spots, more restaurants and the sidewalk has been updated.

Good Daytrip stop

By Jim G |

When in the St. Pete Beach area, Pass-a-Grille is a good place to go to relax at the beach. It's a little more laid-back than its neighbor beaches to the north.

Beautiful

By ZephaniN |

Tons of shells on this beach. Worth spending an hour or so searching for the perfect souvenir. Wasnt too crowded & parking was only $2 I believe.

Nice Find

By David L |

I wanted to find a quiet beach for a day trip from Orlando and found Pass-a-Grille Beach through a web article. The picture of the emerald water piqued my wife's interest, so we decided to take the trip.

The sand is white, the water is beautiful, and there are a bounty of shells to collect. I found a small conch shell with in seconds of entering the water.

The cons to this beach: there isn't much sand as the beach area where we were (in front of the Brass Monkey) seemed to have experienced some major erosion; and the parking was expensive ($3.25 per hour). Were it not for those two issues, I would have rated PAG higher.

Still, it was a nice day at the beach for the family.

Always a nice little drive up and down the peninsula

By Jim G |

Always a nice little drive up and down Pass-A-Grille peninsula. The beach itself is very nice but unfortunately it closes at sunset. Still it's a nice drive even at night.

Great little Gem

By Amanda G |

We absolutely love Pass A Grille. If you want to get a feel of how 50's Florida was, I think Pass A Grille gives you the closest you can come without actually living in Florida in the 50's. The beaches are small (which I love), everyone is friendly and anything you need is just a short walk away. Wish I could move there today!

Wonderful beach!

By Cherry_Wonderdog |

Pass-a-Grille Beach is the southern end extension of St. Pete Beach, but it’s much more local and a helluva lot nicer. There’s less commercial development, more shells to find, and a less slimy touristy aura. It’s also narrower, which, to Cherry Wonderdog, is reminiscent of Sanibel Island. There’s a beach area backed by dunes, and the water happens to be far warmer than further up the coast at Clearwater, even though the soft sand there is in a class of its own. Parking is more private than at St Pete Beach, somewhat restrictive, but certainly doable – especially if you’re willing to walk a ways.

Shells Everywhere!

By Ashlie A |

A hidden gem for this arrlea! It's amazing for shell hunters, so may shells i could not believe it!!! Can get busy on the weekends.

Always lovely to visit

By glamourpuss1000 |

I love to visit Pass-a-Grille and have been coming for very many years now. It has such a relaxed and chilled vibe, the beach is lovely and there are some great places to eat and drink. It's always lovely to see the pink palace that is the Don Cesar, and to look at the different styles of architecture within a relatively small area.
You can see manatees and dolphins from the beach and all kinds of birds, it is a wonderful spot for watching wildlife.

Must see destination

By Jay1234 |

This area was so tranquil and picturesque!! Pedestrian and bike friendly. Water on both sides! Nice options for recreation and food. And not touristy- like if you headed north a couple of miles!!

Seaweed and rough surf

Beautiful beach but could not enjoy due to seaweed and rough surf. Really sad! Very disappointing for us.

Wonderful escape !

Bottom line - We love Sabal Palms ! It and their staff meet our getaway needs and we will be having our Family Thanksgiving there this year !

So charming, like you leave the bustle behind in just a couple of miles! Dunes are pretty, tons of shells!

Girls day

By Doreen D |

Spent the day here with 2 friends. Loved the whole experience. Parking is metered but get there early. Lots of restaurants and shops. Lunch/snack bar right on the beach with entertainment. 1 friend needed a beach wheelchair which they had 1 at a little shop right there...just leave your ID with them and get it back when you are done! Rental kayaks and paddle boards available as well as cabanas. They also provided 2 cornhole games. It was a fabulous day.

Paid Parking

By banacekeatsout |

Paid parking ruins the experience. Plenty of other places to enjoy a beach without giving the city money for parking on a street your taxes have already paid to construct.

Nice beach and a couple of restaurants and shops t get away to

By MKH000 |

Nice area away from some of the crowds of St Pete's. Great sunsets and little strip of shops and restaurants.

Beautiful Beach, Very clean and accessible

By moljohnson_ |

Visited the beach with family on holiday. It was absolutely beautiful and very well looked after. The parking outside worked perfectly and only cost a few dollars for hours. The beach was clean, everyone was friendly and with the sun shining it was perfect! There aren’t any umbrellas though so I would definitely recommend taking some kind of shade because it can be very very hot (and not sheltered). Can’t wait to come again.

Great beach and we saw manatees around 3PM

By beachyanne |

This is a great beach to hit if you like a little change of pace from the typical Clearwater beach scene.
We went during the week and it wasn't too crowded but still plenty of people. Great for skim boarding and boogie boarding. We usually check the Magic Seaweed app and plan our trip based on days with the best wave heights.
Parking and carrying your gear to the shore was a very short walk. Pay at the kiosk type of parking meter.
There are no life guards.
There is a cafe with bathrooms a short distance from parking as well. They typically have live music in the evenings and on the weekends.
We saw manatees out in the distance. Very easy to get to- just past the Don Cesar.

Tourist Money Trap

By cubsrule2313 |

Beautiful Beach and town however the parking is awful and not worth the headache of going to the area along with the city commissioners are sharks. This is a rich city and they charge $90 for a parking ticket. It's highway robbery. I was going to book a vacation here until I found this out and have decided there are plenty of gorgeous beaches and cities elsewhere that actually want people to visit to enjoy their town and not just to rip them off. Disgusting what this city is doing to tourist!!!

MY FAVORITE BEACH

By Drue Paige |

We frequent the beach and have different reasons for going to each of them, but if you want a clean, white sand, beach to lay out and swim with no seaweed in clear water, THIS is your beach!

Great spot for shells

By Shelly H |

This was a great area for shell collecting! The water was warm the area was clean and we could have spent all day there.

Shelling

By Rick S |

EXCELLENT SHELLING BUT GET THERE EARLY <8:00am!!! Plenty of parking available all along street for EZ beach access!

Visited the beach many times, and have never been disppointed!

By Michael B |

You can easily walk the beach in an hour - both north and south directions. A bar and restaurant about half way. Fun to people watch and wade in the surf along the way. Very relaxing. Great sunsets too!

Historic old Florida

By Lovetotravel |

Loved this area, gorgeous old homes. This is a great place to get out of the crowds, quaint shops and restaurants.

Over priced parking - find a better beach

By Ken Q |

Can I give you a negative - I have been going to this beach for a bit and paying for parking - driving from Tampa. Plenty of receipts to prove it but these greedy people want it all. The other day I went and it was raining - a special day my 30th wedding anniversary and i thought I would see if the rain would ease up and I could spend an hour or two on the beach - when i got there it was raining so I wasn't sure about staying-took a pic and sent to my wife and my son called. Barely 5 minutes and headed back to car to leave. Their sneaky ticket man had given me a parking ticket - $50 - what a joke I wasn't even there but 5 minutes - I figured if I appealed it they would show some understanding - less than 12 hours and they denied it - what a way to treat a repeat customer - as another review said - There are plenty of beaches and Paid parking ruins the experience. Plenty of other places to enjoy a beach without giving the city money for parking on a street your taxes have already paid to construct. I will be looking for another beach

Perfect Day at Pass-a-Grille Beach 🌴

By Marie |

Pass-a-Grille Beach in St. Petersburg is absolutely beautiful! The water was crystal clear and calm, with no fish swimming near us — perfect for a relaxing swim. The area has plenty of nearby shops, markets, and restaurants, making it easy to spend the whole day here. We even enjoyed live music from a small local singer, which added to the charm. An ideal spot for a beach vacation!

Pretty until the fog rolled in

By sambenina |

We were encouraged by many people that while in the St Pete area, that it was a must to visit Pass-a-Grille beach. We packed a lunch basket of fruit, cheese/crackers and beverages, along with some blankets and a Bluetooth speaker, looking forward to a beautiful sunset on the beach. We found a nice spot, which wasn’t too hard at 5:45 pm and began our adventure. Upon sitting down and trying to fend off a few seagulls, we noticed that visibility down the coast started to change. Our potentially nice evening observing the sunset turned into a fog infested misadventure. Visibility was less than 1,000ft and after munching down all our goodies, we decided that our quest for a sunset was for naught. The sand is soft and the size of the beach was great. Before the fog, the view was great and it reminded me of being on the California coast. We checked the weather as w were leaving an a dense fog alert had been posted for the area- very strange. I would definitely return, but will check the weather before planning anything next time.

A must visit!

By ajbaker924 |

This is my favorite place for a great sunset! Lovely chairs to sit on and enjoy the view. At this time of year not many people there which made it even nicer. Area is still recovering from hurricanes but they open visitors either welcome arms. We got to ring the bell at sunset - a honored tradition in PAG! Lots of great restaurants and very relaxing!

Amazing Beach

By Mimiwq62 |

Nice quiet beach, so clean, and not terribly wide where you have to walk forever to the waters edge. Enjoyed beaching there for a couple of days!

Our Little Secret....

By Kelly V |

We always love to go to the south end of this beach, where my 75 year old father can fish off a very small pier and my children can wade in the gentle waves while I catch some sun. The conditions have always been just right for our boys to swim. The water is clear and the sand soft and white. You have to pay for street parking, but we can always find parking. It’s quaint and usually quiet, not like the busy Clearwater beaches. We have seen dolphins trying to eat the fisherman’s catch from the small pier (if you can call it that) as well as manatees. A more naturalistic setting than the tall condos. Love this place....shhhhhhhh.

Heaven on Earth

By Anndave2 |

At the end of the St Pete Beach is where it’s located....beautiful beach....fun to walk the beach and look at the very expensive and unique homes in the neighborhood. Don’t miss breakfast at The Seahorse Restaurant or sitting at The Grill on the beach at sunset..they ring the bell to announce the ending of another wonderful day ( they have a liquor license so enjoy a drink too).
The fishing pier is being restored at the moment but when it’s open you can watch the fishermen catch some interesting fish.

Great if you don‘t like tourist bunkers

By Stoltinger |

We took a bike around the pass-a-Grill island and truly lived the different atmosphere than at all those huge hotels with too often overly captivating entertainment.

Get away from your bar or pool and explore the ending the island.

Beautiful views

By K.W8 |

Cute restaurants and this is a beautiful area. I love the beach and the cute houses and hotels. There are some nice boutiques too. Every year we visit and have to come to Pass-a-Grille.

very nice beach

By wolly.v |

What we liked best on this beach was collecting souvenir shells. Especially after a storm there were very many cone shells and sponges - a week later hardly any cones and sponges remained. No idea who collects natural sponges but gone they were. A few pelicans in the water, but without binoculars not much to photograph.

Town and Beach

By Climber43717317025 |

Different areas of the beach werre awesome for the evening time with places to sit. Was not much of a downtown. Some places to eat along the main street by the beach.

Beautiful beach & town

By Jenna S |

Quaint little town for walking around, shopping, getting ice cream, having dinner at Brass Monkey. Loved the beach and the sunset tradition each night.

Our Favorite Beach

By NXTTRP |

We try to go to Pass-a-Grille Beach once a week. It’s a great destination for walking and people watching. Our goal is 10,000 steps with the Don Cesar hotel often claiming us for lunch.

It’s crowded on the weekend so we typically avoid Friday - Sunday.

Beautiful

By JACKIE B |

Sunny every day, can’t wait to go back, great vacation place, Sabal Palms greatest place to stay. Loved it

Day Trip

By kltackett |

We stayed in Madeira Beach and traveled throughout the area daily. Although my boyfriend preferred Clearwater for the entertainment/activity availability, I preferred Pass-a-Grille for the beauty and calm atmosphere. Although not an abundance of things to do, the beach itself is beautiful and full of shells. There’s also a restaurant right on the beach that serves food, drinks, and alcoholic beverages that livens the scene up. I recommend if relaxing is your forte that you check this place out.

Quaint upscale beachtown

By Heather K |

Amazing quiet beaches and warm water. We rented a house and enjoyed the small town atmosphere. Land and Sea Market makes nice deli sandwiches for a picnic. Hurricane’s has a nice rooftop bar.

Shopping and stop for an afternoon cocktail.

By Josie H |

This was a delightful area to stop and go shopping and stop for cocktails on our late morning shopping adventure. Cute shops and places to have a few cocktails. Enjoyed just walking around.

MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE

By Higgiebaby |

Love! Love! Love! Beautiful well kept beach! Easy to access and the community around is safe and clean. The parking is $4/hr but so worth visiting this beach. You feel safe with the sheriff patrolling on their ATVs, and no partying on the beach. Its Paradise. Please take the time to walk the community. The homes and lush greenery are beautiful! The Paradise Grille on the beach has amazing food and beverages! The landscaping is amazing.

Really cute place but get there early!

By Audrey M |

Love this beach. Parking is a little difficult though so be sure to get there early!

Also, be sure to check for signs. I thought I parked in a good spot but got a ticket. I only saw the small “no parking on this side” sign after. Just something to be aware of.

Great spot for sunset

By bikingmom |

We we’re staying in downtown St Pete and wanted to see the sunset so we took an Uber and got to the Hurricane restaurant when we noticed a cute little outdoor seafood shack with live music. Perfect spot for the sunset and a cold beer. The food looked good . Nice change of pace.

One of my top 3 beaches in the Tampa Bay area

By Quinn L |

I love Pass-a-Grille. The parking is easy to figure out, your car is close to the beach (so you don't have to walk a long way with a cooler, or beach toys, or whatever), the water is nice, and there are restaurants and bars nearby for you to visit before or after. Also, with St. Pete Beach, Madeira Beach, Treasure Island, and Clearwater Beach taking a lot of the touristy folks, Pass-a-Grille tends to be less crowded than its alternatives.

Lovely

By Roving68242350456 |

We loved Pass a Grille beach. The location is quiet, enjoyable, and friendly. We loved being in this area and can't wait to go back.

The best breach on the Gulf

By HLB |

We come to Pass-a-Grille at least twice a year. The beach is great, the shelling is the best I've ever seem.

Wonderful for distance swimming

By Irene Eng |

This little beach park @ 113 11th Ave
St Pete Beach, FL 33706 is ideal for distance swimming, which is the reason I go. From the park to pink castle, the Don CeSar is 1.5 miles.

The park has multi-booth bathrooms and an out door shower, and tennis/pickleball courts.

Street parking.

Pass-A-Grille Beach is the first beach on the Gulf. Now part of St. Pete Beach (nps form 10-900), it has a long and colorful history. Originally inhabited by Native Americans, it was visited by Spanish explorers in 1528 and later named from the French Passe aux Grilleurs (“passageway of the grillers”) for early fishermen who camped there.

Pass-a-Grill - Great views but parking is an issue

By Jean M |

You may want to skip Pass-a-Grill Beach in St. Pete's for a few months. Major sewage and water line roadwork, terrible parking meters, combined with reduced parking have made other sections of St. Pete's Beach more accessible.

Breakfast was great

By Camprx |

Our breakfast was great with huge portions lots of outdoor seating at safe distances. We got in a healthy walk from the hotel and had a good breakfast

Small beach town area

By swtont |

I loved this beach area. There was plenty of paid parking and was an easy walk over the dune. The beach isn’t terribly wide and sand was firmly packed. Sand is white and the water was mostly clear with a bit of seaweed. We didn’t see any beach chair rentals but they maybe due to Covid. It is a beautiful area to walk or ride bikes. A small town feel that was not crowded. Restaurants were open and very good.

Not impressed

By judith c |

Took the troey down here and was not excited. Seems to be mostly residences and hotels for the wealthy. Shops are the same very pricey. One of main streets is all dug up and has been for years according to the locals. Nice beach area and public restroom available. Parking very limited due to construction.

Our favorite beach!

By sunlovinmama |

Our favorite beach-lots of space and less crowded than most beaches. Ample paid parking right by the beach entrance, which they have many walkways all down the stretch. The Paradise Beach Grille is everything your sun coast dreams are made of. Live background music, fun drinks, breakfast, lunch and dinner, counter-service, umbrella picnic tables and colorful adirondack chairs overlooking the sea. And then, the charming pastel shops, cottages and eateries lining the street.

Beautiful beach along a sleepy little neighborhood

By CraftBeers |

Pass-a-Grille Beach is a wonderful option for a relaxed vacation that mostly includes hanging out at the beach or relaxing at your vacation home. We rented an Airbnb that was one block from the beach. It was awesome to pull a little wagon with food and wine out onto the beach each night to watch the sunset.

Parking is a little bit of a nightmare. I would not recommend driving to this beach if you can avoid it. Instead, consider staying in a hotel, airbnb or VRBO. Walk to wherever you want to go. Surprisingly, bikes are not that popular. They are around, but unlike the Florida Panhandle where they are everywhere, you won't see many here.

I probably would not come back to this beach. It is beautiful, but it lacks other activities to keep busy for a full week. A three-day stay is perfect. The restaurants along this beach are probably my least favorite of all. We did not find any place that just rocked. It was more bar and beach food. As we drove further north up to Clearwater Beach, we found better places to eat.

Wow

Here in early April or home in Detroit?!?! Beautiful beach with powdered sugar sand. Good eats and cabanas.

Must stop area when in St. Pete!

What a great area! Very relaxing and beautiful! Busy but feels like you can get away from the bigger crowds. Great place to watch the sunset! Also look for manatees on the intercoastal side.

Peaceful getaway. First time visiting the area and found it low key and peaceful from the hustle and bustle commercialism from other teas. Highly recommend visiting for a couple day get away.

Great Beach but $2.75 an hour to Park?????

By William W |

I grew up in St. Petersburg and Pass-A-Grille Beach was "the" beach for my friends and me on the weekends. Haven't been there for quite some time so returned yesterday as the weather was gorgeous.

It really hasn't change much over the years except for the creation of dunes and plantings to save on beach erosion. I understand the reason but unfortunately they block your view of the beautiful beach and waters of the Gulf of Mexico if you walk along the sidewalks and not directly on the beach.

The biggest disappointment was to see that parking is now $2.75 an hour. I fully understand the need to fund the costs associated with maintaining the beach. At the same time I am a firm believer that people should not have to pay to enjoy mother nature.

A mother and father should be able to take their children to the beach without having to make a choice between paying $22 to park at the beach for 8 hours or to save that money to put food on the table!

What you want your beach day to be like

By ziggy_camp |

I hate even writing this review because I feel like I’m giving away a family secret. But, it’s just too good not to write about.

Pass-a-grille beach is just what you want your public beach day to be. The beaches are clean. The water is clear and relatively shallow pretty far out. Parking is easy (during COVID-19, some parking is blocked to very effectively limit the number of people on the beach). There is a great snack bar right on the beach with tables, a bar, and sometimes live music.

People were friendly and spaced out. Because the parking is pay by the hour, there is sufficient turn over so it doesn’t get too crowded.

The sunset side of the island is the beach side. It’s perfect for strolls, shelling and floating in the water. The other side is more sea walls and docs for boating and fishing.

The middle is dotted with a few restaurants and shops. There are a few hotels, but this is primarily an Air B&B spot. More family friendly than night life action, it is a great beach day spot.

The photo below was a Saturday around noon. It was populated enough to be interesting, but still personal space was available.

Wonderful beach

I live local. This is by far my favorite beach. I try to go weekly. The sand is clean and plenty of space to enjoy.

Excellent hidden beach!

By Mike S |

This is an excellent beach to visit. Parking was reasonable and easy to do using the Parkmoble app. There are plenty of places to enjoy a drink, or grab a bite to eat. If you are looking for a Clearwater beach experience, without all the traffic, then this is the place to go! Defiantly a hidden gem!

Nice strip of beach

By kansaskristy |

We were there in October so it was very nice. I'm not sure how crowded it gets during peak season. I would recommend late October. Less lines, less traffic etc.

underrated, but it's great...!!

By sanju_222323 |

it is south of St Pete Beach. The Pass-a-Grille beach has white powdery sand that extends far into the water, which stays shallow for a long way gradually deepening. The water is clear and emerald-colored. Pass-a-Grille has a lovely laid-back beach town vibe. There are not any large resorts or hotels in this area and it has a much more laid-back feel. we spent 3-4 hours here doing nothing, just strolling, collecting shells, and talking. it has that vibe.

The sand is soft and white in most places, although shells do accumulate in some spots, which can be painful on bare feet.

there are fewer restaurants and things to do in this area, although there are enough options to choose from. The town has kept its small beach town feel and has avoided becoming an overdeveloped tourist trap. Almost all of the town consists of beach houses and 1950s beach bungalows. There are no high-rise hotels or condos in the town. Most of the streets are lined with palm trees, and lush landscaping is everywhere you look.

Parking: Onsite parking is available. Unlike Sarasota, Bradenton beach- parking is not free here in St Petersburg, it’s $3/hour. make sure when you are in the St Pete beach area, you don't do back-in parking. The back number plate should be visible to the sheriff/police. it’s the law
Restroom: No
Changing Room: No
Shower: No

My Very Favorite Place

Pass A Grille has been able to maintain its quaint integrity amidst so much frantic building of high rises further up the beach. Always a favorite and must visit spot.

Loved Pass-a-Grille!

By Wendy F |

Pass-a-Grille Beach was gorgeous! The whole neighborhood was gorgeous! Paradise Grill was the best and sat right on the beach!

Take me to the beach, and bring an umbrella and water shoes.

By Kelly Y |

Red tide didn’t stop the beach goers. White Sand Beach or Bust! We had heard about the areas from some locals, and from reading other reviews. We are so happy that we took a chance to go check it out. Parking is a little expensive and I would definitely recommend that you actually get out of your car and walk up and take a look to see what the beach looks like where are you going to be. You can rent umbrellas and beach chairs for around $30 from the restaurant bar on the beach and according to our sunburns that’s probably a great idea. I also would recommend water shoes as I have never seen so many small shells on a beach! Wet white sand, and not as many dead fish as other areas.

Beautiful beach with painful parking price

By Raegan L |

For some reason, I had had so many people recommend going to Pass-A-Grille to me, so it obviously was added to my list after awhile. And, it’s in the St. Pete area so I knew it had to be fairly nice. Overall I understand why people like it. But for my personal preferences, I don’t think it’d be somewhere I’d come back unless someone else I knew really wanted to go.

The sand is soft but not near as soft as nearby beaches. The water is a lovely color and there were some waves but it was great to go swimming in. As the beach stretches on, you can also see a mini skyline of St. Pete beach and it’s super pretty.

The reason I wouldn’t go back is mainly the parking. It was around $3 per hour. We were only there for a few hours, but mannn that starts to add up if you actually stay there the entire day. And I know tons of other beaches where you don’t pay a thing to park. If you’re vacationing there or don’t have a car to park then this beach is a totally different story. But for someone like me who is more local and drives to the beach and actually cares about spending money unnecessarily, coming here just isn’t a practical choice.

Another thing to note is that they do have rinse stations so that you don’t have to be all sandy after you leave. That’s always huge.

White beach easygoing

By Brittany W |

This beach is really nice the parking is metered. Parking is very close to the beach not a ton of people when we went on a Thursday. Just a nice sunny day!

Expensive parking

By M_R_TravelingTwo |

Very lovely beach. But, you need to know that parking is Very Expensive. Currently at $4 per hour (and it must be going up regularly, because even their own website can’t keep up). You need to pay ahead using a credit card at a parking pay station, and you could only add a certain number of hours. Or you can use an app, but keep in mind that they tack on a service fee above the $4 per hour. Parking was readily available on a Thursday in January. There are about 10 free spots on 8th for use to shop, not for going to the beach.

Definitely worth a visit !!

By Dine |

If you are looking for a whimsical, beautiful view of Old Florida, this is the place to go.
Beautiful beaches, happy people, one street of fabulous shopping with unique stores, restaurants. This corner of paradise is definitely worth a visit.
Don't miss: Etc! a Fabulous shop......

If you want peace and quiet, this is your beach!

By Anita D |

My husband and I love the uncrowded beach. Usually it has fine sand, but this year there was a lot of crushed seashells. I regret not bringing my water socks. We like it that there are no commercial beer joints with loud music on the beach.

Historic and Walkable

By Wandering_Chimp |

Fun walking the beach and shopping area here. Our friend enjoyed fishing off the piers and we loved the sunsets. The Don Cesar is about a mile walk along the beach and worth checking out and reading about the hotel’s history.

Heaven

Not the usual Florida scene....this little historic area is calm, peaceful and so very friendly....an oasis in the usual touristy Florida....gorgeous beach, lovely little shops and beach eateries, old Florida residential....a chance to really get away from it all.

Love this area

By 941debwagner |

The beach is great and less crowded than st Pete beach. There are restaurants and bars nearby. They have a vendor market on weekends I think sundays.

Cute! Fun! Gorgeous beach!

Short walk to beach or restaurants but more shelly then usual

By Successfx |

Short walk to beach from parking spot and restaurants but more shelly then usual! When we visit we love this beach for it’s convenient factor of unloading car walking to beach or restaurant but this time it was extremely shelly sand almost uncomfortable to walk on, so check your spot before unloading car! But still beautiful

Whimsy at it's best, with magnificent beach and eye candy.

By ralph m |

This adorable, eclectic, artsy, whimsical and magical part of St. Pete Beach in Florida is really second to none. Imagine being on a peninsula enjoying lush landscaping, fun and beautiful local homes, docks, pelicans, gorgeous tinted water (do they use food dye?), fun restaurants, colorful shops and paintings, wildlife, boating and in addition, an outstandingly beautiful beach ?!?! If you could, you'd then be touring Pass a Grille. The town with the strange name. One of my favorite places on earth. Another don't miss when traveling through Florida. Don't miss a Hurricane Cocktail when visiting the "Hurricane Bar" on the beach.

Drove thru it yesterday.

By Ken123W |

Plenty of parking all along the road by the beach and in front of restaurants! The only trouble is that you have to PAY FOR IT!!! Yep, didn't see a spot that wasn't identified by a number. You then had to pay for parking at a communal paying station, using the number of the spot in which you are parked. Didn't need to patronize those restaurants or see their beach. We stayed for several days at a resort with a beautiful beach (same beach, just a bit further north than Pass-a-Grille). Don't need to visit (drive thru) their again.

Clear blue water

Perfect little town at the end of St. Pete beach. Lovely place for laid back beaching. You have to Pay to park everywhere. The bay side is absolutely beautiful- looking at the large houses is a must see!

Worth the trip

This is a less touristy beach, in my opinion. Parking is about 2.25 per hour paid to meters along the parking strip. The birds can get aggressive; you've been warned. The sunsets are breathtaking at this location also. I haven't seen any easily accessible facilities which could be a drawback for some.

Great beach and not as crowded as nearby St Petes

Stayed in this area for a few days and thought the beach was great. Majority of time had no one in vicinity of us so really quiet and peaceful. Don't know what it's like at weekends but during week spot on.

Beautiful!

Thisight be one of the nicest aras of Florida. Great shops and restaurants BUT not many . The beach is fantastic.

Gorgeous sunset

We finally had a sunny beach day. The sand was so soft and white. The Don CeSar in the background was beautiful. Not very crowded, but it is February. The traffic when leaving was a bit crowded, but it looked like it was due to some construction.

Our Fav Beach

We were with family from the frigid north this time, but anytime we are looking for the beach, Pass-a-Grille Beach is our first choice. There is predictable parking, food and sand. What more could we ask for?

Last week we had kids and grandkids with us and everyone had a great time. In particular, we like the convenience of Paradise Grille.

Touristy

The town has several watering holes, women’s clothing/chotsky shops, and restaurants. The museum was closed. The beach front was not impressive: a few mismatched benches.

Mellow Place with some History

By KayaKing7 |

Used to live in Pass-a grille many years ago and was happy to hear that it now holds a Historical Status so it won't be ruined by development. Nice place to visit and eat at places like the Hurricane restaurant and take a few steps to the Gulf to cool down.

Ate breakfast at Paradise on the beach.

Great homemade brkfast outside on the beach. Fun! Stayed for hours and added a few drinks and snacks.

Our favorite beach

We have been going here since we moved here 15 years ago. Or bus quaint, clean and just simply nice. Much better than all the other beaches.
Just nice old Florida. And the streets have such cool houses to look at. Love it!

Beautiful Sunset

We were visiting Clearwater, but found ourselves on the beach on Pass-A-Grille as it was not busy, but beautiful. We enjoyed paddle boarding, and watched a beautiful sunset. Cute shops nearby on 8th ave.

Wedding party

We had our wedding party at Shadracks, great local bar. The staff, Scott and Biscuit went above and beyond to make our party the best ever. But aside from that party it's a great place to just have a few drinks. Highly recommended.

great beach walking

this is a great stretch of beach if you're looking to get away from the big resort crowd or looking to add to your shell collection. There's likely much better beaches for sunbathing or swimming. However since this area is predominantly residential I mostly saw beachcombers in the morning. Though it was just 2 days after a big storm, so shell collecting was abundant.

Gorgeous beach with crystal clear water

Amazing beach with crystal clear water and an awesome food stand offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. Parking right on the street and several other restaurants on the street

Quiet & Clean beach

The white sand beach of Pass a Grill is clean and beautiful. Nearby local shops are restaurants are just a few minute drive from this pristine beach making it and even more desirable place. Not a lot to do but relax.
