This museum was excellent! One of the nicest we’ve been to. The displays were high quality and it had a lot to see but yet wasn’t so packed with stuff and information that you felt overwhelmed, as if you wouldnt get to do it all in one day. That said, we spent 4 hrs here including lunch, gift shop, and the whale movie, and we could have easily spent another hour or 2 to read more of the info. The only thing we didn’t do was the children’s museum section. My favorite was the dinosaur exhibits, including the temporary t-rex one. And the gem section was absolutely breathtaking. And I’m not even into geology all that much. But beauty is beauty! Me, my wife, my mother in law, and my 3 kids aged 11-19 all really enjoyed it and I would love to go back if we’re ever in Dallas again.

This is a great museum with many terrific exhibits and educational opportunities for children of all ages. However we visited on a weekday during a family vacation to the Dallas area and the Museum booked so many school groups that it was impossible for our individual family to enjoy any of them. We understand that it’s important to bring school groups to the Museum and that all kids should have the opportunity to experience it, however the number of school groups booked in a single day was beyond excessive and ruined any chance our family had to enjoy the museum. They should either more tightly control the number of schools booked on a single day or close the museum to outside guests. It was a waste of time and money to come when children under very limited adult supervision were dominating the facility. We strongly recommend skipping the Perot on a trip to Dallas unless you can visit on a weekend.

We passed on this activity primarily because of the 20+ school buses in the parking lot. The place must have been crazy packed most of the month of May with school-aged, year-end field trips. If you go in May, try to go after lunch as the kids head back to the buses and back home.

We visited the museum last Sunday for around 5 hours. The museum was pretty crowded but was still enjoyable. There was no need to prepurchase the timed tickets, we purchased them on the spot. We started at the top floor where the exhibits of the of the Dinosaurs, the birds and universe are located. Then on the 3rd floor was where you would see the energy, minerals, rock as well as earthy gems. My son spent quite a long time in the earth exhibit where you can change the terrains of the earth by the height of the sands. The most interesting part was in the 2nd floor. The standout ones were the moving of balls by the remote controlled trucks, the earthquake structure testing exhibits and the air tubing. The basement also has a sport exhibit which was quite interesting as well as play area for children. Overall a great day out for the kids for sure.

We spent an afternoon at the Perot Museum, and while it was pleasant enough, we expected a little bit more. Some aspects were great. Great paleontology department and the skeletons are impressive. Rocks and minerals department was also good. A lot of interesting things to see there. And the ten minute movie about the planets was excellent. Aside from that, the other exhibits didn't have a lot of interest. There was some earthquake thing that kids kept stomping on, and you could hear it two room away. Bird exhibit could have been more interesting. Not even sure if I remember anything else. Not a bad museum, but I would have liked more to it.

Really cool place to take your kiddos. They loved all the dinosuar stuff.. Make sure you check them out online before you visit. Always good to know whats going on, how to get there and where to park.

Great place, is an incredible museum, such a variety of knowledge and built on a way that makes easy to enjoy and learn. The technology pavilion is wonderful, and don't forget to go downstairs to the sports... we went with my 4 and 7 yo children on a rainy day, was the smartest move.

Went with kids on a Saturday afternoon. It was not too crowded and kids enjoyed a lot. There was special exhibition regarding TRex and wow, it was super fun. Museum has a robotics area too. Would recommend it for kids to learn about nature. We spent around 3 hours as we skipped few. One thing I noticed was there are many digital scree related games, activities and kids were only interested in those activities. My goal was to keep kids away from screens for few hours but it was a bit challenging for me. I understand that might be the best way museum want to attract more families, kids and keep them engaged. Just a lesson learned for me for future visits.

The museum was very educational and well managed. We visited the museum the week after Mr Ross Perot passed. He did an exceptional job with the museum, I’m sure he will be truly missed.

I was visiting the area and had heard about the musuem and it was well worth the time to stop. It has 4 floors showcasing a variety of exhibits ranging from the prehistoric world to gems, rocks and natural history. There are a lot of interactive and educational displays for everyone to enjoy. The dinosaur dance was a big hit!

By trophywest |

For a private museum, it was great. For little children, they have a fun play area. Things to climb on & hands on exhibits. They have it set for exploring the top floor & moving down. Not as large as a public museum but extensive for what they had.

By atlastraveler |

If you could only choose a couple places to go while in Dallas, I would definitely pick this museum. It it great for all ages. The museum is state of the art and high tech. My children loved the earthquake simulator. The escalator that takes you to the top floor is pretty incredible. There is something for everyone here - and that includes a museum for kids 5 and under, complete with a water table and art room. This was definitely a place I will go back to.

By blondie355 |

This place is so fun and interactive not only for kids but for everyone! The dinosaurs are def our fav! This place was clean, and they had hand sanitizers everywhere and a bathroom on every floor. I highly recommend this place!

This museum is fabulous, there is so much to see and do. My wife and I really enjoyed our time here.

By jerry@worldtrip |

“Absolutely loved our visit to the Perot Museum! If you have kids, this place is a must-visit. They’ll be mesmerized by the interactive exhibits and hands-on activities. Plus, a tip: if you park near the museum, there’s walking distance access to the World Aquarium as well. Perfect for a day of exploration and fun!”

By Coyote-Travelerz |

I went to the museum with an expectation of exhibits geared more toward adults than kids. As a result, I was somewhat disappointed.

Overall, the museum provides very good information on the sciences (albeit at a young teen level). I would definitely bring young kids here, but not adults.

That said, the Origin exhibit was definitely worth the visit. A temporary exhibit, i highly recommend visiting it.

By texhills |

We looked forward to visiting the Perot, but left disappointed. The museum has first rate exhibits and friendly staff. Our visit was marred by the large number of noisy students there on school trips Tuesday, April 16. To be clear, we didn’t at all resent the students being there. The museum’s educational program is to be applauded. Theirr visit should been better managed.

How many hundreds of youngsters there were we couldn’t say, but there were too many. Most were well behaved, but as young people tend to do unless instructed otherwise, they made quite a racket using their outside voices everywhere in the museum. Some mostly older students ran from room to room without any apparent supervision at all.

We love children, but an hour of crowded spaces and unrelenting din sent us to the cafe for a break. We considered leaving, but we had made a special trip into Dallas by train from Denton just to see this museum. So we stayed and pushed through the second and third floors at a faster pace than we would’ve liked.

The students needed more and better counselors along to keep them in line, but I lay this problem at the feet of museum management. Too many students were allowed to come that day. Even if they had all been perfectly behaved there were far too many of them. Management also needs to lay down the law to schools about their students treating the museum with respect.

By naturetack |

Excellent up-to-date museum with awesome exhibits. Learn about dinosaurs, the solar system, and so much more. The museum sets itself apart in a few ways, one being the emphasis on Texan natural history, and another being the incorporation of sustainability and science into learning about the architecture of the building itself. Had a great time (went alone), highly recommend taking your kids to learn about some science!

By Northlibertytraveler |

interesting for all ages - our teens age 17-21 enjoyed as the adults did too. We spent about 2 hours enjoying the variety of exhibits. Tickets purchased online give you an entry time and that worked well to stagger crowd size.

By nierlirc |

Great kids play area downstairs and great exhibits - the lego exhibit now is incredible. Stuff for all ages.

By Benjamin |

If the outside architecture of the building alone draws you in to this multi-story hands-on learning experience. From dinosaurs to space rocks and everything in between. We actually loved the earthquake simulator where we experienced what it felt like to be in a 9.5 earthquake!

By Stefanie F |

Can’t really say it was terrible because I didn’t go in but we didn’t know they had been closed for months. That was the museum my 10yr old daughter wanted to go to for her bday but the whole place was a ghost town. (Under construction) I guess.

By Dana P |

The best place in Dallas for a high tech museum of facts and history. We will return. Thank you for the friendly staff.

By beachm0m81 |

We had fun at the Perot Museum - there were plenty of interesting exhibits and hands on activities for the kids. There is a large play space with water table for the littles (under age 5) on the lower level.

Some of my thoughts:

1) The floors are all open to the one below, sort of like an atrium in the middle, and there were about 6 bus loads of kids on a field trip the day we went so it was EXTREMELY loud. Like, so loud in some parts you couldn’t talk to the person next to you. Like, so loud that if your child is sensitive to noise or has a sensory issue, I would recommend calling ahead to find out if there are school trips planned for the day. Neither of my kids have sensory issues, but they both complained the entire time about the noise.

2) I would recommend taking the stairs if possible because the elevators take a really long time. We spent a lot of time waiting on the elevator until we smartened up and found the stairs!

3) They do not have a coat check or lockers (maybe this is a northeast thing?) so leave your heavy coat in the car.

4) They offer a really great military and law enforcement discount so bring your ID, I think my husband was free and we were all half price.

5) Bring an extra shirt for your little for the water table. There are smocks provided by my daughters shirt was still soaked.

6) I might suggest going right after lunch and maybe it wouldn’t be so crowded.

This is a great museum that the Perot family brought to Dallas.

Heard many great things and excited to visit on a trip to the Dallas area.

This museum has a bit of every aspect of science. My impression was that it was an overview to intrigue young minds.

I have been to several Natural Science Museums…. from Los Angeles to Houston. Those other museums have more exhibits than Perot.

For the four floors and basement, Perot is on the smaller size.

In addition to the entrance fee, the parking is across the street and is $10.

By Manu |

Had an awesome Sunday with kids, very entertaining but let the young one play ... omg !! saw many kids waiting in line at all the attractions b/c adults were playing, other than that price was good, the lab with kids wearing coats and using microscope was phenomenal, parking a challenge ... well is Dallas what else you can expect

By Laurence R |

Fantastic museum. Lots of interactive games for children. We saw a 3D film. This is the first time we have stayed in a museum until it closes.
There is a 10 dollar parking lot next door

By Musleh S |

This is great Science and nature Museum. There are many things to know and enjoy with your children and teens. I visited it with my wife and two teens and was very fun to go over all floors. It costs $25/adult and $15/child less than 13 years. It is a little pricey. There is a parking lot under bridge and costs $10.

By Dustin B |

Heidi at the ticket counter was very accommodating and answered all of our questions. She was very kind and helpful. The museum itself is very nice and there are many things to do.

By Tammy T |

We bought the Dallas city pass and ventured down to the Perot. I can honestly say with the limited time we spent here it would be a highlight if we were to return to Dallas. The layout and exhibitions were fantastic and highly educational. We witnessed families of all ages enjoying their time here, the kids could touch and interact with the exhibits and even as an adult we found the exhibitions very enjoyable.

By Kurt C |

Good local science museum. No, it is not the American Museum of Natural History, but considering you're not in New Your, DC, or London, this is a good place to go. Exhibits cover ancient life, astronomy, biology, energy industry (a bit petrochemical focused, but it is Texas), and modern nature. a bit oriented towards younger children, but these places tend to be that way. Very science based - a good discussion of how evolution works, climate change affects the Earth....refreshing to see real hard science being put forward instead of dogma. Recommend it.

Excellent museum, one of the best we've visited in the USA. It has 4 floors of pure knowledge and fun. Worth every penny.

By vacationrooms |

Took the grandkids and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Will go back to experience the whole museum on my own. Could have spent the whole day if I hadn’t had another commitment.

By jennkcooper |

This was well worth the visit. Whether or not you are a science buff, it will keep you entertained. Loved the vast amounts of hands on learning for all ages

By Tastefullycoco - The Simple Treasures |

There are some interesting things to see at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. It is not that big of a museum, but they have done a good job with what they have. The building is interesting as well. We went to see a Lego special exhibit that was pretty interesting. However, the elevators and the wait are more than a hassle. There are tons of very wild kids running all over the place. The movie we saw and paid extra for was out of focus, so that was very disappointing. It isn't bad, but it isn't spectacular either.

By Jeremy P |

I have been several times. On week-ends, the crowds can be terrific. On week days, you get hammered with school children on field trips. I cannot stress enough, buy tickets in advance; if you just show up, they are frequently "sold-out." And the other tip that is imperative: get there when they open ( 9 AM daily, but 10 AM, Sundays ), before the crowds descend.

By Carl S |

An amazing museum in the heart of Downtown Dallas with concentration on hands on activities for kids. Check out the Lego exhibit. A must see.

By AZCard1 |

Impressive. If you could visit only 1 museum in Dallas,,,,this would be the one! I don't do reviews, but this visit has to be an exception.

By Learncpr5202 |

We had a great time visiting this museum. There was lots of interactive displays. I think there is some thing for everyone to see here and it doesn’t take a lot of time to go through. We did go when there wasn’t a lot of people so we did have an advantage. I could see this being frustrating if The museum was packed with children

By fsgucum |

* Typical nature and science museum but nicely and efficiently organized
* Multi stores
* Quite crowded by school children

By Glenn W. Worthington |

We enjoyed the Gem Hall the most. They have a lot of hands-on exhibits throughout the museum that seemed to be a hit with children. We could appreciate the high quality mineral specimens.

By 2011glen |

We went for the lego exhibit. It was incredible. The works of art were very good. The entire museum is set up to make you question, think and participate. A great way to spend 2-4 hours without being bored. Great place for kids and adults of all ages. I guess we are all kids at heart and The Perot brings it out in all of us. Also has a place for lunch or snacks. They also from time to time have outdoor activities like music and hands on activities. Take a chance and see what you will discover.

By Simon P |

I’ve visited many science museums over the years but I found this to be one of the best , especially the astrology and minerals. The collection of crystals was amazing and presented in an engaging and informative way. A good mix of experiences for both adult and child.

By Melony W |

We visited the museum on a weekday and when we were purchasing our tickets I remembered I saw on their website they offer first responder discounts. First responders get free entry!!!! AMAZING!!!! We really enjoyed the exhibits. We took time t read and view everything. We went later in the day and actually had to hurry through at the end because the museum was closing. The museum was well laid out and very informative. We really enjoyed our visit.

By James B |

They have great things for all ages so while children have lots of displays that will interest them, there’s just as much for adults. We went very early on a weekday which I highly recommend. There was plenty of space to take your time at each exhibit and not feel rushed or crowded and it was quiet so you could focus on what you were reading and looking at. As the afternoon approached I did notice the amount of people increasing as well as the noise level. You will appreciate the amount of hand sanitizer station especially since many displays are meant to be touched.

By Jules75 |

I'm sure people will be aghast when I say ONE and DONE to the Perot but here's why: It is obvious that a ton of money has been poured into this museum because truly it is very impressive and well done. Really. The reason I'm Never Going Back is because there wasn't one place you could turn without evolution and the big bang constantly in your face. I mean constantly. There were even guides giving talks on adaptation. As someone who believes in the Creation as mentioned in Genesis I wasn't thrilled with this at all. I didn't like skulls that supposedly show people evolving from moneys and all this nonsense. So, yes, it's 'nice' because it was pretty and clean and the exhibits were top notch. Will I be back? Nope

By tomdee55 |

I can HIGHLY recommend a visit to the Perot Museum of Nature and Science!!! We took our two grandkids (ages 12 and 6) and we ALL enjoyed the day we spent there. The Art of the Brick was one of the special exhibits and it was awesome! It’s truly amazing to see what some very talented artists “sculpted” with LEGO blocks!!! We also watched a 3D film about rescue dogs and ALL of us loved learning about how these amazing animals are trained to save human lives. The museum’s website will describe the other exhibit halls but I will tell you that ALL of us (ages 7 to 64) throughly enjoyed and LEARNED a lot. The museum is laid out to be very interactive so the kids could learn hands on (without even knowing they are learning!) and the information provided with each exhibit teaches a LOT by focusing on the most interesting tidbits! We live in the DFW area so we bought a membership because we know we want to go back to spend more time in some of the exhibits and also to experience the new large exhibits coming to the museum for limited time.
BOTTOM-LINE: this is a great venue for a family of all ages- its fun and everyone will learn AND you can keep the kids away from video games for a whole day!!

By Monica O |

It was an interesting museum but I had higher expectations. It seemed to be more appropriate for kids then for adults. Definitely worth a visit, though.

By Belinda F |

I enjoyed the exhibitions and interactive displays. Great to see so many school groups in the museum. The lego Art of the Brick exhibition was an extra admission cost but well worth it. Not the biggest natural history museum going, but definitely recommended for a visit to Dallas.

By Zophra |

Ups: Excellent, excellent paleontology exhibit. 5+ on this. They even had plant fossils! Mineral exhibit was also very good. Bathrooms are very lovely...especially the women's on the 4th floor (am I really complimenting a bathroom...it's late)
Downs: Whole top floor reads like a commercial for using fossil fuels. Very very little on problems or alternative energy. The taxidermy exhibits are very boring. The Mollusk exhibit answered few questions beyond shows lots of shells.

By Khanh P |

this is one of many things you should visit when you come to downtown Dallas. the young kids and teens will learn more things from this museum, and nice place to get a ways from the summer heat of Texas.

By Sarla Patel |

Brilliant,
Origin to wave formation earthquakes & gems
Enjoyed all the floors.Needed more time to interact

By Kim S |

Went on a weekday and arrived at opening. Parking is across the street for $10. I could not believe the amount of kids/field trips going on at once. It was utter chaos! Each exhibit was so busy that you could barely move and most of the kids on the field trips were just running around and yelling and screaming. We are the type that likes a read and see it all and I didn't think we would end up enjoying our time here. Once 1:30 rolled around the field trips started clearing out and we were able to have a great time. Lots of good science and hands on experiences. If you go on a weekday, go with a lot of patience.

By GRW720 |

$76 for two adults - 2 x $20 general entry; 2 x $10 for special exhibit; 2 x $8 for movie - one could pay less to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and see exponentially more. I would not normally begin a review of a museum by whining about the cost but I feel it is justified in this case. The Perot museum is OK, fairly average in quality, and would be worth an entry fee but a more moderate one. On the other hand, there were plenty of people and families visiting so either (a) most people don't share my view on the cost or (b) they had some coupons or discounted costs; or, like us, they wanted an air-conditioned refuge on a hot Dallas Sunday in August.

This is a good museum for grandparents or parents to take children. There are plenty of hands-on exhibits to entertain and educate children. Personally I don't feel that there is really enough for adults. The exhibits are OK, so-so, but relative to other science and nature museums really quite weak.

The special exhibit was of "art works" made from Lego bricks. Art is a subjective matter so people can judge for themselves how successful or artistically meritorious the works are. It was interesting as a concept and to see the items on display. The $10 ticket charge for a special/visiting exhibition was fair and reasonable.

I would recommend this museums for families with children if they can get a decent price for a group. I do not recommend the museum for adults.

By Kim H |

Highly recommend Thursdays on Tap at the Perot! Adults only, access to the museum exhibits, live music, food trucks and cocktails - what more could you want?!

By Babybeze |

Kids and I had fun . Our only gripe was that there were three schools here on field trip the same day. Lots of young kids running wild. We just went real slow and let most of the school traffic get ahead of us. Exhibits were very diverse and educational. Kids ,11 and 13 , had a great time and did not get bored. Would have given 5 stars if it wasn’t for the school crowds

By Laurel H |

My mama and I could have spent an entire day here! We will definitely have to come back when we have more time!

By Ashley H |

Our group of four had an age range of 3-49 and we all enjoyed it! We didn’t get to do the LEGO exhibit or movies just because of how large the museum is, and we hope to go back soon.
Parking is across the street under the bridge and is $10/day. There is a fun play area just outside of the museum with a leap frog forest, large xylophones, and a fountain.
When you enter there is a help desk and a ticket kiosk, I purchased at the electronic kiosk and it had me select a time of entry (but I was not made to wait the 10 minutes until my selected time). We started on the 4th floor (where we were amazed by the dinosaurs) and worked our way down.
There is so much to do here, come early & plan to spend the day!

By Beth S |

This beautiful museum was a treat for all of us. We went as a family with our kids, both of whom really aren't kids anymore as they're in their 20s. But there was so much to do, and see, and experience. It's extremely interactive. We all had a wonderful time.

Definitely glad we went!!

By Tonex |

I went one time a few years back and thought it was nice but just went again with my wife and child and we all loved it so much we became members and go often now! I would recommend becoming a member!

By Meg Moore |

I took my kids, ages 9 & 12 for the afternoon. We saw the movie, museum & Lego exhibit. There was something for all of us there. It gets a little long, especially for the younger ones, but it’s very well done. Lots of interactive exhibits. We all enjoyed the short space movie at the end.

By Ramblin-Jame |

Worth going to if you need something to do in Dallas, but it is pretty expensive, and they charge for everything extra- the 3D presentations and the traveling exhibition. Also, make sure you don’t go on school field trip day! That’s what happened to us, and there were hundreds of screaming kids running around that really took away from our experience.

By Angela |

Very cool experience. Would be great for families with with kids. We really enjoyed seeing the different exhibits. The fossils and dinosaur casts were my favorite and my husband really enjoyed seeing them working to remove fossils in their paleo lab. The lego exhibit was also very interesting and we enjoyed learning about the tallest buildings in the world. Downside, the projector was broken so we did not get to see the 3D movie.

By kellynY6720SH |

I took my three grandsons and son and daughter-in-law this last Saturday. It was May the 4th be with you day. A lot of people were dress up in costume for Star Wars. We started on the fourth floor. Cool dinosaurs and a lot of information about what was in our own backyard. We then visited the children's museum on the first floor. This area has a lot of hand on exhibits for the toddler to maybe 7 year old. We didn't stay long because the boys were too old. Next stop was the gift shop. I gave them a limit and set them off. They have some affordable souvenirs in the gift shop. All that took two hours and we were ready to go...thank goodness we bought the family pass and can go back multiple times. Be sure and park in the designated Perot museum parking lot and pay inside if your a member so you can get half off.

By IFLOSS4U |

This place is awesome! Our boys enjoyed the Sports area on the first floor the most. They couldn’t get enough of racing a T-Rex and a cheetah. Be prepared to walk...a lot. They put so much thought into this museum. Lots of hands on activities.

By Jamal H |

The museum is located in a sleek building in the downtown area of Dallas. Due to Coronavirus, all tickets must be purchased for a specified entry time, although you can enter 30 minutes before the time scheduled on the ticket.

The building itself is fairly large and is split among five levels. The exhibits that I visited were all very informative but at the same time logical to walk through and simple to understand. The museum may feel like it is geared towards younger children but that was not the case, most exhibits appealed to just about every age group. In particular, the Earth Hall and the Gems and Minerals Hall seemed to be more geared towards a mature audience.

I would recommend planning for at minimum a couple hours here unless you are in a rush and just looking through. The museum itself is very thorough and encompassing and I burnt around two and a half hours looking primarily through four exhibits, so if you want to see more or you go more depth at each exhibit, I would recommend upwards of three hours here.

By ncpucke |

Fun and interesting place. There is a whole room of robots to maneuver and control. Lots of interactive exhibits, Only negative was we went when bus loads of school kids were on field trips. Bonus Military and Veterans get discounts for themselves and family so don’t buy tickets ahead.

By Cian B |

I am a natural world and dinosaur fanatic, I was inside for no more than 10 minutes when I had to leave. Screaming children running everywhere. I could barely move through the walkways. I understand that museums are so important for education but there needs to be some middle ground for adults to enjoy the place as well. Very disappointed

By athlus |

A really beautiful science museum, and it is perfect for your kids since there is a section with a playground where they van enjoy and burn some energy. There are a lot of activities, and you can easily spend a day here if your kids don't get bored.

By 215danap |

We went on a Saturday. Due to Covid restrictions, all tickets are purchased online for a specific entry time. Once in, you can stay until closing. Redeeming was easy; just open email bar codes from your phone and scan. Just a note, masks are personal preference and are not enforced, only in the gift shop are they highly recommended. So a mix of mask wearers and non wearers. The escalators were closed when we went. We took the stairs for exercise; but there are three or four large elelvators as well. May interactive things to explore. We spent about 1.5 hours. If you like to test everything, plan on spending more time. There is an eatery and gift shop as well; so plan for time there too.

By Nat L |

Great museum to enjoy with the whole family and very easy to navigate. The only negative is that entrance, snacks, and parking can become expensive for a large family.

By cha |

Didn’t enjoy this really, normally love the interactive displays (these were overrun with children). The displays on the first two floors I found somewhat dull. Also I think it is very overpriced for what it is. Wouldn’t do unless you have the city pass. Wouldn’t go to again

By Khalaf K |

The Museum of Nature & Science in Texas is wonderful museum combined the Nature and science with story telling of our planet.

The exhibits in the museum are carefully selected to reflect the museum theme. It’s good for family with kids at all ages with a learning environment for all. You can spend easy 4-5 hours without getting board if you are a history and museum lovers. The 3D show not much that interest compared to the misuse itself. Kids and adults both can learn and enjoy.

One of the must visit places in Dallas.

By CanadianinBatonRouge |

Really interesting museum but be forewarned that much of it is for children so if you have kids, a great museum. As an adult, be prepared for chaos.

By Meghan T |

This museum is phenomenal. Make sure to give yourself all day to visit because even then you won’t see and experience it all. So many fun and engaging interactive exhibits. It was very very busy so be prepared for crowds thought our experience may have been skewed due to the eclipse travelers. Definitely a good place for a family to visit and the restaurant onsite was reasonably priced with a good variety of options.

By Seven7777 |

I highly recommend this museum, and it's worth going out of your way if your family loves science. It's HUGE, several floors. It's a true science museum, with exhibits for adults, but tons of interactive, hands-on areas. You can easily keep children of all ages entertained. I'd say the star of the museum is probably the dinosaur and paleontology floor. You can watch actual paleontologists at work. The bottom floor has a childrens museum complete with water play. The current traveling exhibit focuses on tyrannosaurs and is excellent. It will be there for a year. There's a 3D theater. The cafe is a true restaurant with real meals, not just snacks. They have plenty of healthy options in a cooler near the register. It took us several hours to see and do everything, so wear your walking shoes and set aside an entire day to explore the museum.

By Mary Alice M |

Great for all ages. I will be taking my 20 year old grandson when he visits in a few weeks. We saw kids from 6 on up there. I like the way it is laid out and the flow of the museum. I will be more familiar with it the next time we go. There is still more that I want to read and see. We were there for 2 hours with my oldest daughter in June and we were worn out. There are benches scattered about but not alot. The prehistoric collections are very interesting.

By Windy_Keala |

Great museum! We particularly liked the dinosaur exhibits and also the impressive collection of gems and minerals.

By Trippin with Dusty |

This is an excellent science museum. It has many interactive exhibits, which kids seemed to especially love. The T-Rex exhibit was really cool. First time I've seen a T-Rex model with hair. This is well worth the visit and the cost.

By glemay06 |

We spent 3 hours here. My husband could have stayed a whole day 😁. Very organized, child and senior friendly. The section dedicated to our brain was so interesting, and the dinosaur and gem section are spectacular! We will definitely return. All the attendants make your stay feel very welcoming. The parking lot attendant even helps by swiping your credit card for you. This place is very well run. I overheard a group of children asking their mother if they could spend the night. This is a five floor museum where every floor is dedicated to two topic of our world.

We were surprised to see a museum that is not boring at all. Plenty of kids (noisy, regular kids) enjoying the spaces, interacting in many different ways with anything they could. The museum had it all. It is worth it.

By MaryLou62 |

The children's museum was closed for a four month renovation; which was very poorly executed for the following reasons:
1. The updated toddlers area was simply "blah."
2. The new colorful knitted turnip feature consisted of three layers. Children crawled thru one hole into the inner layers, one layer at a time. This caused the layers to squish together, crushing and immobilizing the other children in the outer layers, making it almost impossible for those kids to exit the structure. I saw one father have to rescue his child due to this happening.
3. The new water feature had no drain in front of the display but needed one. The supplied plastic water pipes could divert water over the front of the water tank.
4. The new outside play climbing structure had multiple ways to climb, but only one slide resulting in long lines for the slide
5. The new bubble station didn't have the correct bubble mixture for the bubbles to last; resulting in frustrated attendees.
6. Bubble solution on children's shoes and hands caused slipping on the new climbing feature. There was no way to dry hands or shoes. Very poorly thought out and executed bubble feature.
7. NO seating for adults inside the children's museum.

How can you not like this place? Very cool building and all the exhibits still look new and in good condition. Very Clean. Just a great place to spend the day!

This place is another best thing to do in Dallas. You park your car in the museum parking lot that charged $10.00. The general admission is $20.00 per person. It's a well organized science museum. The personal opinion is that the best part is the space on fourth floor.

By mcstaci |

We got there early in the day expecting it to be busy. (It was) Each floor was different and full of information and hands on exhibits. I loved the earthquake simulator and seeing all the technology. My only negative was parents who had no problem telling us we should let the kids have the interactive exhibits to themselves, BUT that isn’t on the museum. We had a great time.

By Hank.PassmoreRealtor |

Family friendly and informative. This was a great several hour stop before a flight. The kids loved the dinosaur information, we loved that they were learning. Short review but you should definitely go!

By mark |

My 4 year old daughter and 2 year old son liked playing outside in the water more than the inside. The sports exhibit was the best though. Lots of fun.

By David Z |

The kids will be thoroughly entertained and educated by the exhibits at the Perot.

The extra movies and exhibits are worth the time and money especially “The Art of the Brick”

By MzKittyG |

This place was so fun! It was entertaining for all ages. Our favorite parts were the musical stairs to the lower level and the exhibit that tracks your stride.

We purchased our tickets through Dallas City Pass. With that we got general admission and a 3D movie ticket. We watched Extreme Weather. The movie was ok, nothing special.

The traveling exhibit is Legos currently and there was an additional fee so we didn’t do it.

This museum has almost any topic- motion, DNA, dinosaurs, oil drilling, engineering, birds and more!

This would be a fantastic place for a family looking for something to do inside.

We parked right by the museum for $10, but there are several locations close for a similar cost.

They have a cafe with indoor and outdoor seating areas. As per most places similar the prices were high but had a good selection and many healthy options.

There is a splash pad.

We didn’t read, look at everything we just didn’t have enough time and we spent 2 hours in the museum.

Highly recommend!

By Toni G |

Plenty to do, plans on spending a good chunk of the day, especially if you have kids. There are plenty of hands on things to do. They even have a separate area for toddlers to explore. Start at the top and work your way down. Several floors of exhibits. A little pricy and we couldn’t get the parking to validate, so that cost an extra 10

By Travel80 |

We started our visit by taking the series of Escalators to the top Exhibition Floor (4th Floor with an elevator to the 4th Floor Mezzanine level) and then toured each floor, walking down the stairs one level as we completed our exploration of each exhibit floor. The highlights of our walk-through were the huge assembled Dinosaur fossils (some actual bones/fossils and some castings) and the Geological exhibits. A great way to spend two hours or longer if you choose to include a Special Exhibition or watch an extra Film (not included in $20 Adult admission price).

By CJDIFRAN |

The Museum is awesome! You need a full day to adequately cover it.

One drawback is the number of 4-6 year old large groups of kids, YMCA, summer camps, etc. They run around yelling and screaming jumping from one exhibit to another. Its wonderful that they are there, but unfortunately, their chaperones are young teenagers who don’t have enough experience handling large groups of kids in this age group. It makes it tough for adults to be able to take the time to read the many exhibits, or even get close to the popular ones.

By Dustin C |

I'm rating this based on my kid's enjoyment more than mine. After all, it's for them, right?

I personally enjoyed it, especially the fossils. The kids (9 and 12) seemed bored with it. They mostly ran through snapping pics and doing all 4 floors in under an hour. So we had to wait almost 90 minutes to do the Guinness exhibit we paid for. Not the museum's fault, you pick your own times.

By ROR-Texas |

Total waste of money and time! So disappointing! There needs to be a review & revision to their capacity protocols. Because of the excessive number of school groups, no one could enjoy the exhibits! The groups were inadequately chaperoned and lacked discipline. A controlled traffic flow is needed through each exhibit. My children could not experience any of the interactive activities or see half of the exhibits. Only the activities that required tickets beyond general admission were truly accessible.

By B A |

Well, I wish I could say I enjoyed the museum, but that would be a lie. My family and I were at the museum only about 20 minutes before having to rush my son to the ER after he injured his wrist on the running exhibit in the Sports exhibit. He didn't have enough room to come to a safe stop before hitting the wall at the end of the race track, and he hit the wall. The wall had padding, though obviously not thick enough to keep someone from getting hurt. We spent four hours in the ER and my son has a broken wrist that will possibly need surgery. After I reached out to the museum to let them know the severity of my son's injury, I got a generalized apology and was told we couldn't be refunded, but they were willing to reschedule a visit for us. We traveled from 3 hours away in Oklahoma to visit the museum, and didn't even get to enjoy that. Because of their exhibit not being safe enough, my son is now in a lot of pain, we had to cut our vacation short, and are not sure how many thousands of dollars in medical bills may be accrued. I'm not happy at all.

By Allen W |

Excellent collection of dinosaur bones and skeletons. Top floor also has a great exhibit on outer space and the universe.

By Diane S |

At first glance, the number of children at the museum might lead you to believe this place is for kids only. Not true. A wealth of opportunities on four floors and a mezzanine captivated the adult in me. There are so many things to do, it’s easy to miss many of them. At level 4M on the top, my ten-year-old granddaughter built a virtual bird and practiced being a bird in flight in a virtual projection system, while I studied bird eggs and nests. As we worked our way down the next levels, we studied birthstones and “ohhed” and “ahhed” at the mineral and stone exhibits. The “Brainiac” guides (real people) on this level are extremely helpful, explaining monthly birthstone displays and differences in stones. On another level my granddaughter practiced computer coding and programming, while my thirteen-year-old grandson enjoyed the earth science section with the simulated hurricane and tornado funnel, and “sandbox” erosion table. We also watched the Super Dogs 3D movie which was excellent. Ask for the senior discount, and if you’re on a budget, stay all day long. There’s enough to do here to last several days.

By Miranda G |

My husband and I used the city pass to visit and thought it to be a very cool experience. Even for adults.

By Sarah S |

Such a fun environment for kids and adults! Our 5 year old had so much fun exploring and learning about all kinds of cool stuff. Everything was clean and staff was friendly. We spent about 3 hours in the museum but we didn’t do the Pixar exhibit. We will do that next trip!

By Dennis B |

We took my five year old grandson here for a visit. This is a fabulous museum. I suggest getting there before 10:00 am when the doors open. Getting there early to avoid crowds is a good idea. There are plenty of interactive exhibits for kids. Five years old is a good minimum age. There is a small children’s play area which can appeal to younger children but the broader museum requires the child be a bit older. There are universe/ space exhibits, dinosaurs, animals, etc. the play area offers a climbing wall, water toys, building stuff, etc. We did pay extra to attend the current bug exhibit, which was excellent. This is well worth attending.

By JulsTiger |

I had too much fun! I love the gems and minerals - they are so beautiful. The dinosaur exhibit was amazing. The Perot is great for all ages.

By 719cromero |

The Perot Museum of Nature and Science (shortened to Perot Museum) is a natural history and science museum located in Dallas, Texas. It consists of two campuses: the primary campus located in Victory Park, and a secondary campus in Fair Park. The Victory Park campus museum was named in honor of Margot and Ross Perot. The current chief executive officer of the museum is Dr. Linda Abraham-Silver.

By 11jellybelly |

This museum was interactive and interesting. The kids had fun & learned something new in every room we entered. We spent 3-4 hours here but definitely could have stayed longer! I definitely recommend visiting!!

By Kalvert D |

There was something for everyone. I especially enjoyed the exhibit of various gems from all over the world. The kids loved the giant dinosaurs.

By TinkityB |

Spent a weekend in Dallas and was attracted to the Perot museum; first by it's architecture. The building itself is a beautiful object of art and a pleasure to walk around. The Museum content is a must for everyone of any age. The exhibits are well curated, all of the interactive experiences were working and everything seems to be 'up to date'. Even the movies were very current and good quality. I felt especially lucky to see the Art-of-Brick, a mind blowing lego art exhibit; a pleasant surprise to find at a science museum. And who wouldn't love a dinosaur exhibit where you get to talk to the people who are chipping away at the fossils of a new breed of dinasaur...right in front of your eyes. SO WORTH YOUR TIME and the entrance fee.

By Turtle Reviews |

This is a fun place to go when it rains, my wife and I went when we were in Dallas and it was raining and we got to see some dinosaurs skeletons. The thing we really liked was the interactive pieces at the museum. We really enjoyed getting to interact and experience an earthquake, and things like that. Another thing we really like was getting different gems and getting to see what they’re made out of and getting to explore that there is an area for kids outside that involves frogs and there is area where kids can splash to the frog area. There are many movies that you can see at the museum, but you have to make sure that you get a separate ticket to go.

By Allen W |

This is one of the top dinosaur museums in the USA. Wonderful collection of them bones. Exhibit on the cosmos is also very good. If you only have one day in Dallas see this, the Dallas world aquarium next door, and the nearby sixth floor museum.

By dennys34 |

5 floors full of science and things to discover- many hand on exhibits - a skeleton of a dinosaur viewable from the outside

By Scott M |

There was a lot to see and take in. The viewing room detailing elements of the solar system was top notch. Fossil collection was really good. Lots of other areas and interactive exhibits. Families with little ones may appreciate this the most. Went on a day where there were a LOT of kids on field trip, which was a little prohibitive to be able to fully enjoy some of the displays. Maybe best to go in the summer time. Overall a top- notch science and natural history museum.

By Gelik V |

Great exhibits. Lot of things to do. 4 levels of different exhibit. Toddlers section is great. But very very crowded. I visited on a Tuesday.

By Andie |

This modern museum contains so many exhibits from dinosaurs to robotics high tech gadgets. We spent a lot of time at the museum. Some parts felt cramp though and probably should be spaced out better.

By MMTYSM |

My husband always wanted to be an astronaut growing up, after seeing Buzz Aldrin walk on the moon in 1969 on their black & white TV at the age of 9 yrs old. So, what better time to go checkout the Perot Museum than during their adventure in space display. Very hands on museum with lots of interactive displays for young and young at heart. The opening huge crowds had diminished and we had a nice relaxing time strolling through the multi floor building. Definitely something to see if you have a chance while in Big “D”.

By PH |

We love the Perot Museum, besides dinosaurs, gems and space related exhibits. The children's area is awesome, every bit is fun. Even though they were busy, it wasn't too crowded. The food at the cafe is made to order, so even though you have to wait, it is fresh. As fresh as burgers and fries can be. They do have gluten free buns and pizza crust!

By MJMcGrath |

Escalator operator enthusiastically recommended we begin at the top and work our way down. It was a cold and drizzly day so we wanted to do something indoors on our ‘free day’ before returning home to Colorado. Great way to spend the afternoon learning about our universe and the science and physics of nature!

By djc486 |

Hundreds of school kids detracted from the experience. Glad they are able to go but we will have to go back when it isn't field trip time of year.

By Mark T |

I bought Dallas City Pass.which gave me an admission ticket here.Dallas City Pass was a great deal.

- The location was good.It was located near 6th floor museum and Reunion tower. You may walk or use Uber from there.
- I stopped by a food court. The salad was cheap and big.
- I saw many kids leaning science with games.
- The exhibitions were human body, nature, engineering, geography and animals.

This is a great museum in order to enjoy and learn science. This is not very Texas museum. But I liked it.

Great place to learn more natural history of course, but also about Dallas and what makes this such a special city.

By tradi_travel |

A little something for every interest and age level. We spent ~ 2 hours inside. Plenty of hand sanitizer everywhere. Some displays closed and a few of the interactive touch screens were not working, but overall it's well worth a stop.

By NCarmyDude |

Pros- lots of cool exhibits, great for kids.
Cons- too many kids. My wife and I left early.
If you take your kids, they will love it.

By Soxgirl58 |

Excellent museum experience with 11 year old granddaughter. She wanted to see the Lego exhibit and I expected toy-type stuff but it's not that at all! Fantastic Lego replicas of famous works of art and sculpture, I think the temporary exhibit (which ends soon) was more enjoyable for adults than children. In fact I was surprised at the number of toddlers and young children in the whole museum. I think this museum better suited to children of my granddaughter's age and older to understand the detailed earth, science and history exhibits. Well worth the price of admission.

By cinderellatheultimat |

Exhibits were very diverse and educational. Whether you're into sports, dinosaurs, biology or engineering, this museum has something interactive for everyone! We had a great time and did not get bored.

By matthew p |

Might be interesting for kids, but not for any adult with half a brain. I have wanted to check it out since opening but never had opportunity to do so. Went on my birthday this year and was disappointed. Very basic museum material and the fact that most “artifacts” are 3d printed copies makes the whole experience very underwhelming. Will not recommend this to anyone. The traveling display of tyrannosaurus dinosaurs was a joke. To pay an extra fee for this is a complete ripoff. Best part was the 3d whale movie but that was not near enough to make this trip worth it.

Go to the Dallas world aquarium and have an actual enjoyable experience.

By Katiuska C |

surprising how varied information and interactive at each stage very up-to-date for children is excellent

By tyler b |

The exhibits are well-designed and offer lots of interesting information about each item. I like how the museum is organized into related topics on each floor. There are lots of hands-on things for the kids to do, however there were long lines for several of the more interesting ones even on a Tuesday morning. We will definitely return the next time we are in Dallas.

By Hula15girl |

We were very fortunate to see the Lego display. It was mind blowing!! This is a wonderful museum to visit.

This is the most interesting place ever! You cant beat this Museum for a Birthday Party for the young ones, or just walking around by yourself. The Perot Museum is worth every cent you pay, and much more. Although they are all over the board with the pricing, become a member as it will save you big $'s.

By Nikki D |

My husband and I took our kids 11 & 12 here. They had a good time, lots of cool facts and information. They only said that they wished it had more hands on activities. It was a fun way to spend the afternoon.

By m0ta17 |

Place is good. Good amount of exhibits but couple areas of improvement: elevators take a considerable time to get there, forcing you to basically go thru stairs all over the place; one or two of the exhibits could have some more interactive attractions and cafe was overwhelmed. Still, it is enjoyable. Loved the temporary T-Rex exhibit!

By PGAPRO2006 |

This is a real hidden Dallas treasure, the exhibits are phenomenal, and its very family friendly. Its has something for everyone, from little ones to adults. There is a cave spelunking experience for younger kids, and a engineering and innovation hall for you to build and design structures, and let your mind simply wander. Tues, Sat and Sundays there is creative time for kids 5 and under. For the adults there are permanent exhibits and films that can viewed whenever you want. There is a Sports Hall donated by Lamar Hunt, and a T Boone Pickens "Life Then and Now" Hall. The Rees Jones Hall of Dynamic Earth even has floor built to feel like an earthquake. and has a hall of minerals, for those into Rocks. There is a large play area for the kids to run wild, so enjoy your time with family and friends.

By Adrea H |

You can go to the museum 3 or 4 times before seeing everything. It's always a fun time of learning, building, experimenting, etc. I'd guess ages 5 to 16 for kids, but all adults will love it.

By JD1 |

We drove from the Gaylord Marriot and Google Maps had a hard time with construction areas. Once we made it down there and parked, I realized there is special museum parking under the interstate bridge next to the museums that cost $10. For one adult and two children to pay for general admission plus admission to Lego exhibit, it was $72. We got there right at 9:00, which was a good idea. The museum got very crowded very quickly. There were several large groups of kids, people with strollers etc. The Lego exhibit was well worth the cost - especially if you enjoy famous works of art. There is a children's museum on the lower floor, but I have preteens so we did not go in there. It seemed quite popular. There were four floors I believe. We spent just under two hours, but did not read or do all of the activities. There are also movies you can purchase tickets for and we did not do that. Bottled water is allowed. Our bags/purse was checked by security upon entry. There is a gift shop and restaurant on site. After the museum we walked to Reunion tower. It is about 1.2 miles and along the way you pass the Sixth Floor Museum and Dealy Park - where JFK was assassinated. Overall, it was a pretty good visit. We did bring snacks along in our bag and are those at an outdoor seating area. If I lived here and had young children I would by a membership. In terms of a one-time visit it is very expensive and was very crowded around 10:30.

By Joe m |

I loved it however the prices are out of control. Great attraction in the DFW area. PLace was clean and the emplyees are very knowlegable

By CR C |

The museum is modern and has a pretty nice design to make a self-guided tour with family and kids. A mix of interactive exhibits (mount your own dino, earthquake floor-shaker, tornado spinner, etc) make for more interesting and engaging experiences.

The dino exhibit has limited original fossils, but has an abundance of reproductions and also a lab with a technician showing the process of fossil recovery.

Our kids loved the dino part and then started getting tired from the level below. It is a large museum and I think any visitor needs to gauge the level of patience and interest based on the people coming along.

I enjoyed the visit - wish I had more time, but my kids made me speed thru the exhibit.

I also noticed that Perot's endowment was very friendly to the big oil interests in their exposition of fossil fuel science.

*At the time of visit, we had to schedule due to social distancing protocols and we ended up arriving to the entrance about an hour before our time slot... as a result we were oriented to wait or buy the Guinness Record Tour exhibit. We couldn't wait so we plunked additional cash to add that exhibit after which we could go up to the main museum spaces

By Jennginn68 |

My 9 year old son and I enjoyed several hours at the Perot Museum on Saturday. We pre-ordered our tickets online for general admission and the Art of the Brick exhibit. We experienced no waits and the whole experience was fantastic.

The Art of the Brick was so enjoyable. I am not sure which one of us liked it more. He was fascinated by the different famous artworks recreated in his beloved LEGOs, while I was mesmerized by the part of the exhibit that was a collaboration. The red dress is a must see, in print and sculpture.

We thoroughly annoyed all the permanent exhibits as well. He liked all the interactive features especially, smelling the flowers and skunks, the earthquake, and the VR experience of discovering the hominid in the cave.

The museum store has some fun an unique items as well, and the pricing was reasonable.

The museum is lovely and clean and there is so. I have to see and learn.

By csack2018 |

This is a great museum but like most hands on places, many things don’t work. The children had fun and that is what counts.

By Stephen K |

We were there for the Art of the Brick LEGO exhibit, which was outstanding touring exhibit. The museum is very well designed with lots of interactive exhibits. The building itself is a wonder to look at. Plenty of easily accessible parking.

By L Young |

So much fun. Took us about 2.5 hours with our 6 yr old to see everything. Worth the price we paid. Parking is $10 across the street.

By Jimmy and Tammy |

Very cool place. Interactive, love the dinosaurs. Multi levels of things to do and things to see. From technology to the land of the lost, you'll enjoy the displays.

By derek441 |

Great place, friendly staff, fun and interactive experiences. I was able to cover the place in about 3 hours alone, discounted ticket prices for military, fire, police etc. Was being offered when I visited.

By Bajangirl41 |

This was well worth the visit. If you are into science you will love this place. Saw many school groups there. I learnt a lot of things I never knew or heard of before.

There are four floors of exhibits ranging from birds to pre-historic animals to space and much more. It is a good mix of the world we live in.

I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Dallas and I took the DART train to West End Station and walked the rest of the way. It is about 10 minutes walk.

The cost is US$ 17.

I am a homeschooling mom to 2 daughters and one son, ages 14, 13 and 9. We LOVE this museum and all it has to offer! There's plenty to see and do but it's also doable in a one day visit if that's all the time you have to spend there. We just became members so we'll be going back soon!

By jonesjjj |

This is a place where you can spend a whole day and not see everything. I love the Dinosaurs interaction. You can see a feature movie but it cost extra. Cafeteria has a good range of food. Love the children's interactive playground out the front.

By Brent M |

I was a little disappointed in this museum. While there was some amazing fossils and information, it’s definitely geared towards children. It should probably have children’s museum in its title. Maybe I missed that.

By AtleticoUk |

The museum is good with several interactive areas. I found it fairly oriented to a younger audience and that explain the hordes of children that "invaded" the museum as a day trip from school. Maybe in a quieter day may had been more enjoyable!

By Aaron M |

I met Ross Perot in the 1990s at West Point. What a fascinating man, I was so excited to take my son to the Perot Science Museum. We found the second floor to be in complete disrepair. More than 50% of the exhibit stations were not functional. It seemed liked the employees were all just breaking in the back area. When I found an employee I asked him to show me one robotic station that worked properly, he concurred that none - zero of them were functioning as intended. Show me how to pick up a ball or a ring with the robot - he couldn’t. Show me how the main robot chases the other robots to change the light color - non functional. The other station he could not even explain to me the purpose of the exhibit. He was a manager by the way. The little silver boxes sitting on the tables with the screens were all broken and non functional. The “operation - doctor” style game, non functional. The hearing games most were non-functional. I wanted to send the board of trustees my feedback but there is nothing on the website directing me to communicate with anyone. I’m not sure how the Perot family feels about the operation of this museum but by no means was this a reflection of the great man Ross Perot that I met in the 90s. Some love and attention and systems could get this place going again with much better management.

By Chelsea K |

This is an incredible museum! We really enjoyed ourselves and could have spent A LOT longer than we were there adventuring and enjoying all there is to see and interact with.

WE went specifically for The Art of The Brick exhibition and I have not stopped talking about it since. Truly spectacular!

By Texas Transplant |

The museum is good for children and adults. None of the exhibits by themselves are world class, the collection as a whole is above average. The staff was constantly cleaning the exhibits.

I may have rounded up to a five but 2 rude employees dragged down the rating a bit.

By David N. |

My six year old son loves this place. The museum has a number of different floors that have different interactive exhibits but my son still love the children's space in the basement. The rotating special exhibit is hit or miss, we have been to some that are great and others that are not as good, so check the reviews before you pay extra. The theater is also a great value if you are looking for educational movies. Also make sure to check out the fracking exhibit.

By 419marleneb |

This museum is for adults and children. I was just as fascinated as they were. There is plenty for all to see and do

This place is great. You learn and see information about the dinosaurs, rocks, gems, minerals, etc, space, the human body, there is a real brain, etc. Very informative and interesting. Too much to write about. It gets 5

By jv66210 |

This is a great place to visit with elementary and junior high age kids. There are exhibits on minerals, dinosaurs, weather, physicics, ecosystems, and human biology. Everything is very interactive and hands on. I recommend it for families with children. Those who are easily annoyed by children or who do not have an interest in science likely would not find this enjoyable.

By llassocs |

This is a very nice museum. They tried to use Covid protocols as much as possible by limiting the numbers of people throughout the day, providing lots of hand sanitizer all over the museum and asking people to wear masks and social distance. However, this is a very hands-on museum and no way to keep up with cleaning each experience after every use. We went in the afternoon and were told we were smart to do so because the mornings are filled with children on school field trips. it is handicapped friendly, which is good for me since I use a mobility scooter. The exhibits are mostly science related with lots of experiments to do. It is a good size but small enough to be covered in 2 to 3 hours.

By Abbott Party of 6 |

We enjoyed the time spent here. Nice exhibits with lots of information about various things. We would go back.

By Iloveliasophia |

Second year for Dino Fest, lots of family friendly activities spread out through the day along with great speakers for all ages.

By jdandalison |

We go to science museums in just about every city we visit and this ranks squarely in the middle of those we've visited. Be prepared to spend the whole day there. It really did take us from opening to closing to see it all. If you have older kids, start on the 2nd floor. The human body and engineering exhibits were the best and most interactive. Unfortunately, most of the ones that interested my teens weren't in working order by the time we got to those exhibits late in the day. I don't know if this was due to the thousands of kids there on field trips or if they already didn't work when the day started. The other exhibits weren't as interactive as we prefer. The special Art of the Brick exhibit was probably my favorite part and worth the extra cost. (Use the restroom before going in as there aren't any inside...they let us go out and back in, but we had to wind through the whole thing and back.) Skip the movie. The food in the cafe was surprisingly good, but don't go at prime lunchtime - especially during field trip season. Lines were long, and we had to wait for a table to open up. If you have a nervous child (or adult!) in your party, skip the escalator. It goes by a glass wall to the outside from the 3rd to the 4th floor and once you enter on the 1st floor there's no way out except by escalator. Ok, last thing. To go to the movie, cafe, or gift shop, you have to "exit" the exhibit part and then "re-enter" which is allowed but an odd set up.

By wildorchid99 |

My kids had so much fun here. My 4 year old cried when we left the museum since she dos not to leave. It is very educational and entertaining at the same time. Great for all ages. I would highly recommend the museum when in Dallas. I got the tickets by purchasing a city pass which is about 50 percent less from the original prices for 4 places (Perot museum, reunion tower, sixth floor museum and a choice between Dallas zoo and Bush presidential library).

By TKD66 |

I am a huge fan of history and science, so I made sure that I visited this museum while in Dallas. It is not a huge museum, but I felt that they did a good job packing a lot of exhibits into smaller space. I did happen to go on a day when there were about twenty busloads of kids, and I must say that the chaperones have a much more laissez faire attitude than I remember when I was that age. The noise and activity level were pretty astounding and did detract somewhat from my enjoyment, although I do think this is a place worth visiting. I think it is definitely geared more for kids, so would make a great family trip. There are some nice behind the scenes exhibits that show some of the work behind discovering and displaying fossils. Exhibits were nicely laid out and they had some very good specimens. The mineral and gemstone exhibit was terrific.
I would recommend this museum- primarily for families but can still be enjoyed by old fossils like myself.

By Alexandria T |

This is a very family friendly museum. It was crowded and had lots of children. It is very casual in terms of dress-code, as many exhibits are interactive. I'd suggest going at a time when there are smaller crowds to be able to enjoy the contents of the museum. The big crowds make the experience feel rushed.

This is a really remarkable museum. First visit but it won't be our last. We were taken by my wife's daughter for her birthday to see the traveling Lego Exhibit. It was remarkable and very enjoyable. After the Lego we started at the top floor and worked our way down for three hours. The museum itself is beautifully designed and some of the exhibits are just breathtaking. We could have spent 12 hours there and not seen everything. Highly recommended a must do in Dallas.

One of the best interactive museums I’ve visited - and my 12 year old is of the same opinion. Plenty of options to explore. Plenty of space to move around. Pretty much impossible to finish in a day as you do get tired out. Diverse topics to explore and experience (universum, energy, sports, robotics, …)

Went here with my family and really enjoyed it. Four floors of wonderful exhibits. Lots to see and do. We've been to museums like this all over the country and this one is very nice. Very pleasant staff as well.

Being within walking distance of our hotel (Le Meridien) in Dallas, TX , my friend and I decided to go for a visit. The entrance stairs were an eye catcher for the rather non descript building exterior. Once up the stairs our attention was caught immediately. A water feature led to a child’s outdoor play area. A unique sculpture of pipes was actually a large musical instrument that followed the line up of outdoor picnic tables. The entrance opened to a gift shop, cafeteria and theater. (We took advantage of all three.) The museum is a must see for children and adults. There were so many excellent displays. Most had some type of interactive or hands on component. Two adults were kept as involved as the many school children who were also visiting

We used the Dallas My City Pass to purchase tickets, which was a nice discount. At the museum, we followed the recommendation to start at the top and work down throughout the museum. At the 4th Level, we explored the Expanding Universe Hall. The exhibits were excellent, especially the room sized video panels of the Universe, Solar System, & Planet Earth from space. Then to the Life Then And Now Hall. Shown were many large, complete skeletons of ancient life, dinosaurs, mammoths, & other fossil animals for comparison with modern day animals. We went up the escalator to the Hall of Birds. We created a virtual bird based on a half-dozen key characteristics, At the museum cafe we ate a very dry, tasteless chicken sandwich, which could have come from the prehistoric creature exhibit. Then back up the the Third Level Dynamic Earth Hall -- there we stepped into and experienced an earthquake. Next was the Gems & Minerals Hall -- spectacular topazes from around the globe and a gigantic geode a person could fit inside of. This was followed by quickly striding through the Energy Hall, a homage to the oil & gas industry. On the Second Level we strolled through the Discovering LIfe Hall -- a massive stuffed animal collection (a taxidermist's dream-land). Also on this level were the Being Human Hall and the Engineering And Innovation Hall -- a bunch of very enticing hands-on exhibits. In the Lower Level we picked up the pace and viewed the Children's Museum and the Family Sports Hall. All in all an intriguing, informative, & interesting day. A great place to bring the grandkid some day.

Our family trip to the Perot Museum was initially just to give my nieces and nephews something to do during the summer; however, the whole family thoroughly enjoyed our time at the museum. Many exhibits were interactive and allowed for hands-on learning for all ages. There was never a boring moment where we had nothing to do at the Perot Museum. Employees who specialize in each area are located on each of the various floors and exhibits in order to encourage questions and further learning. The facility was altogether very clean and well put together. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone!

My son is 4 and his rubber shoe got caught going down the steep concrete slide, hit his head on the concrete slide and we needed to take him to the ER and they put staples in. For an area geared towards younger children, the material should be safer and more kid friendly.
With that said, we got passes this past year and this is the 4th or 5th time we went with 4 year old and 2 year old. My 4 year old has been super engaged in the dinosaur, birds, art areas and the 2 year old loved the duplo, water tables, and finds his way to have fun in the older exhibits. It's a great museum but I wish they were a little more thoughtful about the outside design

If you’re visiting Dallas with kids of any age, a visit to the Perot is a winner. We’ve visited science based museums through the country and this one holds to all. It’s a Dallas gem.

By Tamara L |

My friend is visiting my husband and I from California and I decided the perfect adventure for her today would be to visit the Perot Museum! It was everything we both could have hoped for, and more! It exceeded our expectations beyond words and stimulated our minds from beginning to end.

What topped off this incredible experience was the level of customer service received from all your staff. They could not have been more supportive! I was able to receive one of your wheelchairs for my friend, and when it was time to return it, Officer McQueen suggested she follow us to our car so my friend could stay in the wheelchair, and Officer McQueen said she would return it for us. This was beyond any level of care and support we could have every expected! She was such a caring support to us and represents Perot Museum with that very high standard of excellence you for which you are known.

Continued success dear friends...I/we will see you again soon!

Among the museums my family and I have visited across the country, I'd rate the Perot Museum of Nature and Science among the best. So many things to see and discover, it's hard to get done on one day. Nice theater, too. Highly recommend as a stop for anyone traveling in Dallas area.

By Julie S |

The +: dinosaur skeletons, architecture, minerals. The staff responds to emails. Top if you come with children because the exhibition is still well designed

The -: entrance far too expensive for what it is, the place was full to bursting, with many, many children, the birds of texas presented as corpses...

The museum entrance was included in the city pass package and was found to be by far the most disappointing of the activities (zoo = awesome, G.W. Bush library = awesome, meeting tower = awesome, we did not make the museum about the Holocaust).

By OrlandoMouse |

When in Dallas and if you love museums on dinosaurs and science, you need to put the Perot Museum on your list, especially if you have kids. There are a lot of interactive areas, perfect for enlightening children. As a heads up, you need to order your tickets in advance and online. Pick the day and time you desire to visit. The museum will turn families away if they don’t have a pre-purchased ticket and the museum is already crowded. As another note, there is parking across the street from the museum under a bridge. It fills quickly during the busy times of the years.
Inside the museum covers several floors. If possible avoid the long lines at the elevators and take the stairs. Your visit will go faster. Each level has it’s own unique theme. You may learn about petroleum drilling, how robots work, space, and the top floor has dinosaurs. The Perot Museum was at least a 6 hour visit and we did not have kids with us. It is a great place and we recommend spending a rainy day there with the kids.

Didn't visit but walked past at night. A very unique and great looking building on approach so just had to photograph

By FayeBee |

Small place--about 4 floors high--but a lot of informative things to see.

It was crowded with kids on the day that I visited.

I really did like the 2nd floor, aka, the technology floor with the robots, and other simulators. I skipped out on the earthquake simulator due to kids; seriously, let them have their fun.

The 3rd floor was interesting, too. That floor had the gems, and energy exhibits.

I wish I bought a separate ticket for the Sports Hall and the temporary exhibit.

I missed out watching the volcano film in the theater because I was caught up on the technology floor. Maybe next time.

A cool place, but I feel like kids younger than high school would enjoy this the most. Also going when it’s slower would be best

DANGEROUS. Perot Museum SERIOUSLY needs to enforce stricter safety protocols with the 1500-2000 school children and teachers on their Mon-Fri visits. One visiting student RAN up to me and my baby in the stroller, BLOCKED our path, then circled around us. Her useless teacher had the audacity to shout at me, "That was an accident ma'am. An accident." Absolutely no apology or accountability for what could have been injurious to her student and/or my baby. Thank goodness I was walking so, so slowly amidst all the RUNNING CHILDREN. And this was BEFORE we even entered the museum!

Teachers guiding their students also need to NOT let children run ONE BY ONE into the elevator. I witnessed too many times, all the teachers of a group entering the elevator and letting their kids run in ONE BY ONE (because for some reason, they don't make their kids walk in 2s or as a group)?!?! There should be one teacher INSIDE the elevator, holding it open for the kids to get into AS A GROUP, and one other teacher outside that waits to get in after ALL the kids. This is so that in the case the elevator door shuts and leaves the kids stranded outside, there is ALWAYS A TRUSTED ADULT WITH THEM. With the way these kids are constantly JUMPING in the elevator, chances are they'll break eventually. PLEASE ask these schools to use the stairs! At least for the older children!

The teachers had no control (or did not care) about their students' running and yelling, even in enclosed spaces like elevators. When you teach kids to treat public spaces like playgrounds, they will do so! There were kids climbing into pyramid formations and practicing cheer routines. Poor staff members who had little control of the situation but in good faith, did their best to keep the kids safe when it is NOT their responsibility!

Things were broken, things were stolen. You need to be mindful where you walk because a child (and then two more chasing after) will zoom past in front of you. We as a family did our best to avoid the crowded spots, but the second we found a quiet, empty space, the kids would notice and decide they can run there.

They are a danger to the public and themselves. PLEASE enforce stricter safety guidelines!

The Perot was originally conceived as Dallas science museum, funded and furnished by titans of the geological, petroleum and tech industries, and advised by principal archaeologists, paleontologists and anthropogists. Phew! It worked!
Housed near downtown, accessible to hotels and freeways, with tons of parking, it's also pedestrian accessible.

A full panorama of age-related interactive exhibits engages the most tablet addicted teen and dino-crazed tween and smaller kids. Adults will marvel at the minerals like giant gems.
A theater delivers state of the art rotating shows and lectures (and not the boring kind). Several floors house dino poop, huge amethysts, hands-on self managed stations, all bolstered by bluetooth tourguide headsets. And, don't forget the amazing staff! Concierge members, guides, guards, anyone there is equipped to answer that "stump the expert" question, or find you the answer!
Plan on several hours for a full visit. Locally, family memberships are affordable and allow multiple slower paced visits as well as "members only" events.
Check the website for pricing tiers, call the concierge desk for best times and tickets...but don't be afraid to just walk in, you will not be disappointed!

I really love this museum. It is well laid out with lots of interesting things. Totally worth the trip.

By Kylie H |

This was the best science museum I have ever been to. Perfect for anyone of any age. Parents can read and learn interesting things in each area as children play with interactive things that are in each area too. It’s seriously an incredible place and we can’t wait to return.

Great plaace for any age the place is really interesting and fun for any age because there are so many things to do

By War b |

This museum is awesome. It has 4 levels and it is very interactive. I was glad we decided to go and my daughter got to do things instead and of just looking at stuff behind glass. We spent most of the day there and we would gladly go again

The Perot Museum of Nature and Science is a fantastic destination for visitors of all ages. With its interactive exhibits, stunning dinosaur fossils, and hands-on science activities, it offers a fun and educational experience. The building’s architecture is impressive, and the exhibits cover a wide range of topics from geology to space exploration. It’s a great place to spend a few hours exploring and learning.

By Philomena D |

If any person who is science nut, better go to visit that museum. My both girls who LOVE science. They enjoyed looking there very much. My husband & I enjoyed it too. I recommend you go visit that museum. Learning and fun!

By Berthaki |

It was a pleasure to visit this wonderful museum since it has lot of information of different areas of knowledge. In particular, the science and the dinosaurs sections were my favorite. A very nice device was the box that simulates an earthquake, although real earthquakes are more scary :).

By michaelsR3054QW |

Had family in town and took nephews (ages 7,10) to Perot Museum. They loved it. You can spend hours here.

By barkja |

We did our research ahead of time and made a plan for how to experience the museum around the timed entry items (LEGO artist special exhibit and Wild Africa 3D movie). The escalators and stairs were a little difficult to maneuver in order to go directly where you wanted to go (we saved the elevators, which were centrally located, for those with strollers or mobility issues). However, bathrooms were always readily available and easy to find. It was odd to exit the ticketed area to go to the cafe and theater and have to have tickets scanned again to re-enter the museum exhibits, but it went quickly and smoothly. The exhibits are so interactive for a family of all ages. It was definitely worth the visit and I would recommend to anyone visiting Dallas with family.

By AmyandChad |

This was a great visit with my 3 year old grandson! Dinosaurs, robots, space and more! We really enjoyed the children’s museum on the lower level. He played in a water table, climbed in a house and so much more!

By John D |

One of the most interesting museums that I have ever visited. Each of the five floors deals with a different subject. My wife and I have been to the Dinasaur National Monument in Utah and the fossils in the Perot Museum are every bit as interesting. The universe subject is mind boggling. We could not cover everything in our first visit. It would be very nice to revisit.

By betho271 |

This was a ton of fun for both kids and adults. It was 4 - 4 1/2 foors (If I remember correctly!) and each floor had different exhibits that were very interactive. The elevators were super neat, glass walls so you could see the cables and watch as you go up and down. Each exhibit was so well done and informative! My mother in law and nieces had so much fun. I would go back again to see everything all over again!

By SSMcCoy |

My husband and I took our 3 kids (2, 4, 6) on a Tuesday morning and we all had a great time. We really loved how each of the exhibits offered a hands-on activity for the kids and adults. Our favorite was the section on the human body.

By blondie355 |

This place was pretty awesome! My 6 year old loved it and so did we. A lot to see and do for the whole family! Would def visit again!

By Grant B |

Really enjoyed the time in the museum and the oceans 3d movie was awesome. There were many hands on exhibits for students and adults alike. Great place.

By divefan |

The minerals were in shadow boxes lined with black velvet, which enhanced the viewing. We went during what I think was a visiting exhibit of Chinese minerals, which were beautiful. I liked the 3-D theater seating. We didn't have time or energy to see everything. Lots of kids everywhere!

By Charles R Rosenfeld |

We had 21 family members in town for the Thanksgiving Holiday and needed a place to take 8 kids, 14-3yrs, and 19 adults with high tastes in museums and education. Through membership I was able to easily purchase all the tickets needed at discount, fantastic! Entrance into the museum was easy. Everyone lauded the experience and all would return. This museum is priceless and a great addition to the community at large.

By TLC1mully |

We had a very rainy day on our stay in Dallas and had some suggest this museum! Well worth the visit. $20 for an adult without some of the short films or LEGO exhibit. Amazing science for adults and children. Tons of interactive activities, videos and displays! Highly recommended for those with kids especially!! Learn about weather, the body, fossils, dinosaurs and gems.

By Mary B |

Each and every visit offers something different. What a great place to explore and learn. A superb environment for kids to experience different things and get excited about science and nature. The LEGO exhibit is exceptional and it's fun at the end as you can build your own LEGO creations. Being so interactive is engaging and educational.

By Dion P |

The Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas is a captivating destination for curious minds of all ages. With its striking modern architecture, the museum is as impressive outside as it is inside. The exhibits cover a wide range of topics, from dinosaurs and space exploration to geology and human biology. Interactive displays make learning fun and engaging, especially for kids, while adults can appreciate the depth of information and hands-on experiences. The museum’s 3D films and special exhibits keep things fresh and exciting. It’s the perfect spot for a family day out or anyone with a passion for science and discovery.

By dausten14 |

This is a huge place, but is laid out nicely for you to be able to pick which type of exhibits you're interested in to view first. We were told to go all the way up to the 4th floor and work our way down. I wish I had done a little more research before going because by the time we got to what our family was most interested in, my young kids were tired. The sport area/video motion room was really fun. Lots of interactive activities. If I had it to do over, I would have hit the floors that we were most interested in first. We watched one of the shows, which I probably would skip the next time. We were with a group and going with the flow, but much rather of spent my money on the changing exhibit "The Art of the Brick" at that time. The food court was expensive and parking $10.

By NanaMarlin |

We are so glad we came despite the fact that it appeared to have a lot of activities geared toward kids. One thing you won’t want to miss is “The Art of Block”. Using Legos, inspiration has been taken from Old Master paintings, sculptures and the like, more geared to adults than kids. The add on ticket is only $5 for seniors. The entire museum is free to Veterans, Military, police, fire and EMT. Seniors receive a discount.

By Christine V |

Many interactive displays. Lots of things to do for preschool through adult ages. Varied topics from prehistoric, beautiful gems, robotics, physiology, etc.

By janetthom |

My husband & I spent a Thursday there. Had a great time. So much to do & see. Loved the Minerals & Gems area. Stunning. Of course dinosaurs & other prehistoric things absolutely a great way to learn!

By bntrinh11 |

Kids had a blast here. Very nice museum with tons of things to do. We stayed until they closed at 5pm on Sunday. We could have stayed longer!! Would highly recommend anyone looking for something for kids to do.

By Jesus Negrete |

An iterative museum, with very good exhibits, great experience, and an amazing building. The experience begins even at the ticket purchase.

By TravelingBender |

If you’re visiting or even live in the Dallas area and need something to do with your kids go here. My kids loved all the different things they got to see and experience.

Great Museum, great staff, great exhibits!

By Donny G |

Our (wife & I) main goal was the “Art of The Brick” exhibit and decided to check out the main museum. Fun place, lots to check out and although I read numerous reviews that’s the museum is great for all ages it’s mostly for kids. The dinosaurs and fossils were cool but most of the other exhibits are for kids. The kids will have a great time as most of the exhibits are interactive. I definitely recommend. As far as “Art of The Brick”...awesome. Whether you like LEGO or not (we are big fans) it is an amazing exhibition. Parking is easy and not free. Great place. Check it out.

By Aditya_salian |

A very well organized museum with creative exhibits. The experience was very educational and fun at the same time. There are many hands on activities also to keep everyone engaged. You feel like you need more than a day to really do justice to all the sections :)
The cafeteria is also decent, but was quite crowded. The gift shop has a nice collections of gift items and is worth a visit.

By kantbyluv |

We did the Dallas pass and this museum had so much to do. i have 3 kids ages 4,5, & 8. The kids didn't get to experience it all due to time and attention spans lol. We watched all the movies which I thought they would enjoy but it was a bit of a pain to go all the way through the museum then back to the entrance for our movie time slot each time as the movies times were spread out. The Oceans movie is the best one that they enjoyed, the dinosaurs was more for older kids. There were several floors of the museum and it was very busy when we went on a saturday morning.

By Cheryl H |

Went with my adult niece who is an engineer. We went on a Thursday during the day to see the Lego exhibit. Interesting, but packed with school trip kids. We also enjoyed the gem & rock exhibit. Can't imagine what the weekend would be like.
This place is definitely for kiddos.

By TheOnlyRB |

Fun place but other than special exhibits (that cost extra) it doesn't change much. Definitely a once a year trip though.

By Lucy J |

It was pretty underwhelming, especially considering the price. The building is very cool to look at though and the outside water area was very nice. A major issue was the large amount of field trip groups/ camp kids (some were better supervised than others) which I wasn't expecting. It was just ok.

By gator33 |

Ate in the small cafe adjoining the museum. It was ok with a variety. The nice part of the cafe was the fresh lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and onions you could add to your sandwich. The museum was great for children. As an adult, I enjoyed the variety and the interactive displays. Go to the top floor and try flying like a bird. The 3D movie was very good. Check ahead of time to make sure they are playing when you are visiting.

By Dennis K |

The Perot Museum is an excellent place to take a family with children to soak up a little science. Although adults will enjoy the experience, many of the exhibits seem aimed squarely at kids. That is the success of this museum: it takes science and makes it fun for kids. For instance, the top floors feature dinosaurs among the natural science exhibits, and there is an interactive bird exhibit in which kids can design their own bird by visiting various stations and selecting its features.

That isn't all. There is an engineering exhibit that tasks kids with learning about robots and how to program them to accomplish tasks. For the athletes in the family, there is a sports exhibit on the bottom floor that explores the physics and science of running and other sports related activities.

Perot regularly features exhibits that explore other animals, other civilizations, and other sciences (like forensic science through the methods of Sherlock Holmes).

There is a restaurant on site, and although it isn't the best food in Dallas, it does the job. Parking is available in several nearby lots, but traffic can be busy, so be careful.

Advance reservations are suggested.

By RONALD W |

I don't remember how many times I have taken my kids to Perot Museum of Nature and Science. Their favorite part is with the Dinosaurs. One of my kids wants to be a paleontologist. It is a wonderful place to spend time with your family.

By Sebastian C |

I love this place! The different floors of different things are cool! It was a bit scary being on the top floor making it seem that I will fall. But still, it was cool! I will come back.

By Lynn D |

Great museum for all ages. The displays aren't too lengthy. Lots of interactive areas. It's a must see for families and tourists.

By Kanchan C |

This museum is less of a museum and more of an experience center with many games for whole family. Variety of games make the place fun with tint bit of learning.

By qryche68 |

If I could give this 4 1/2 stars, I would.

Nice, clean facility, many nice exhibits, many hands-on/interactive exhibits. There's something here that will grab the interest of any age group. Splurged for one of the 3-D movies in the theater...it was very well done.

My only "issue" was with the energy exhibit. I understand Texas as "oil country" and it's something they are proud of. But it would have been nice to have added, or at least acknowledged, that there are alternative energy forms. Perhaps something interactive that allows someone to "power their own city" using assorted energy sources to see pros and cons of all of them.

That's just a "me" thing, though. I do recommend visiting!

By kim n |

Kids could stay here the entire day! Lots of stuff to do. Great exhibits that are unique. Bring a change of cloths for the kids because they had a splash area in the front and the kids get pretty wet in it.

By BattleSush |

We explored the museum for 3+ hours - you start at the top and work your way down through the exhibits. Tons of hands on activities for kids + the science lab has fun 20 minute experiments. We used the Dallas CityPass. We made the mistake of going when the museum opened on a school day. There were 100s of kids on field trips - kinda chaotic.

By tenntravelguy |

Wow! So many things to do and see from Outer Space, Dinosaur Fossils, The Animal Habitat, Energy, Human Body Development and so much more. We noticed several children's groups that were present for Summer Field Trips and although some of the exhibits were where you had to wait your turn but the wait was worth it for everything.

I would encourage you to try my favorite part and that was the earthquake simulator. There are several levels of destruction that you can experience. Just let one of the tour guides know which ones you would like to experience. The concierge was very helpful with details of other tourists spots and where to visit while in downtown Dallas.

Only 10 dollars to park and that is directly across the street from the museum. Be sure and check out the snack bar if you are hungry during your visit. Great Hot Dogs, Burgers, Pizza and much more plus the multi self serve Coca Cola Fountain that also includes a large plethora of fruit juices and sparkling waters as well!

By Narendran4 |

Wonderful place for all ages to enjoy. Everything was clean, staff was so kind and most exhibits were open. Bought the membership pass so we can go back often.

By sndovale |

There are exhibits that the kids will love and all are interesting for adults. The grands loved the dinosaurs and animals. We enjoyed the minerals.

By jfaulk |

Be aware: this is a children’s museum! Absolutely no reason to go unless you are taking kids. The Perot museum needs to make this more clear in their marketing. Even tho they make an effort with assigned entry times it is very much over crowded. Just skip all together to avoid running children everywhere. Also the museum parking is expensive on top of the high entrance ticket. Just skip all together.

By Momma of boys!! |

We have had a membership the past 3 years, we love us some dinos and space!! The only thing is, if you go during the summer, it is crazy packed with schools, which I think its awesome that schools bring their kids to the museum, the only thing is, I wish Perot would make them stay in groups with at least 1 adult per every 4 kiddos. Today was just chaotic!! There were kids running around everywhere! I saw one kid just scream at another kid (in the same school shirt) and push him down. There was no adult anywhere to be found, they were across the exhibit. I am a teacher and when we go on field trips, we each get a few kids and those few kids know we stick together the entire time. Hope Perot makes some changes. I guess we are sticking to Sunday mornings in the summer.

By ChrisCgeo |

I went with my two young children and it was amazing. So much for young children to do and see. It was a great experience. Plus the kids play area was a great way to get energy out. We will be back.

By silvercode |

Very good for family. Great way to spend your Saturday, daily students field trips from schools... one of the best spot to visit in Dallas. You will be glad that you visited the Perot Museum.

By Koi L |

i came here when i was younger on a field trip and i remembered that i thught it was so cool. Came back and i still think that. we came when the lego exhibit was there, super cool.

By mourier111 |

Ross Perot is one of the most monumental and influential Texans of our last 2 generations. The museum he built bears evidence of him thinking outside the box. Don’t try to reminisce about the imperial science museums in Paris or London...this is a boutique museum on multiple floors, huge precious stone collection and an information fountain as deep as you can imagine. Parking is easy, so is access. Thank you Ross for what you have done for DALLAS!

By Sierra Scott |

You could EASILY spend a week here and still not see everything. This is a "hands on" museum with things for children and adults alike.
We spent 4 hours here and only scratched the surface.
If I lived in Dallas I'd buy a membership and spend a day in each hall reading everything and trying each interactive display.
My very favorite room was the sports room where you get to compare yourself to real athletes in a number of different sports.

By Scot-on-the-run |

Great science museum that my kids love every time we visit. Great for those hot hot summer days when its too hot to be outdoors and also great around Christmas when grandad visit us. Great for all the family!

By Cokie C |

I decided to take my 13 year old son to the Perot museum for his birthday, just the two of us, and we had a great time!! He especially loved the sports hall. We spent hours there and also watched the Earth 3D movie. I still can’t stop raving about what a cool place it is!

By Jenny |

It was the best experience in a museum we could have as a family! We have to come back every 5 years with our little one. Nowhere else she will have so much fun to learn...I loved the robots area and of course the children‘s museum.

By Nancy S |

Fun day! We visited today with family fro out of state. We hadn’t been in several years so it was a fun way to spend the afternoon. The 3D movies and the fossil exhibit were worth the additional fees to experience. We had a great time with the space exhibit and the STEM activities as well.

By Be Kind T |

The facts presented at the museum are quite interesting. (I ignore the theories of how the world came into existence as they can't be verified with science, change often, and sometimes conflict.) It's geared for children but we saw many teens, and we as adults had enough to explore for about 3 hours.

By mrsachmo |

This museum is geared towards the kiddos, but it had enough to keep my wife and I interested for about an hour and a half. I especially enjoyed the gem display; what a great way to see rare stones. The staff was helpful and actually helped keep my wife from losing her phone! Huzzah, Perot staff!

By jlolson425 |

I was so excited to go here as I remember living the science museum as a kid in Minnesota but found myself let down after our visit. There weren’t all that many interactive exhibits, and MANY of the ones they did have were broken. The dinosaur bones were cool to see, but for many of the other exhibits, I do not think I’d go back.

By travellustinggirl |

We visited this museum today between 10 am and 11:30, and so did at least 30 school bus loads of students. The only thing that saved this trip was a peaceful visit to the Jane Goodall exhibit, which required a separate ticket and took us only 30 minutes. The school kids swarmed the exhibits, stepped on my heels, blocked us from going up and down stairs and ran around the museum seemingly with no adult supervision. There is nothing on their website to warn about the hundreds of school students who come to the museum. An employee did tell us it is quieter after 2 pm. If we had wanted to get a bite to eat at the over priced cafe, we would have had to eat it on the sidewalk as all the tables were occupied by said students. This is not a free museum even for seniors. It costs $62 for the two exhibits, which includes $10 for parking. The bottom line is go late in the day.

By Herb C |

This place is Texas sized if I ever seen one. The 5 floor museum is filled with dinosaurs exhibits, biology related artifacts as well as history and innovation halls. Each hall had a different gist to it and we appreciated the informative exhibits which kept the visit from feeling exhausting because of all the walking. We were a bit disappointed that a number of the Interactive astronomical displays were out of service or broken! They had a dining area with a small range of food not too far from lobby.

The museum is excellent for children. The dinosaur and mineral exhibits are great for everyone. If you've got younger kids you can easily spend the day here. Teenagers may be interested for an hour or two before they've seen enough. Food court has decent food, but the price is very high.

By MAA |

There are few museums we have visited that offer such a wide and exciting variety of things to do, see and learn. Well worth the price of admission!

By Randerson |

Visited as part of the Dallas city pass. To my surprise it also included a viewing at one of the 20 minute movies in 3D they have! I enjoyed the museum, great exhibits and things to learn for those of any age.

By Donovan O |

A lot of family fun. Experiments for children and so many things too see. Isn't that crowded due to the design of the building. Food is pricey for the quality.

By saimakamal |

Pretty elaborate. Best to utilize the whole day. I went at 1 pm and had to rush towards the end. I'd much rather go early, have lunch there and resume viewing all the way to 5 pm. What I liked the most was how most exhibits were related to their position/ relevance in Texas.

By melwashere81 |

This is a very nice museum. Lots of different exhibits including amazing dinosaur skeletons. It's not the largest museum of this kind I've been to but I love the layout. It's very organized and has a great flow. If you don't like crowds then you want to avoid the hands on science section. This part was packed with kids and parents so we decided not to even try. They also have some outdoor exhibits for kids. The leaping frogs were especially cool. For $20 admission It's definitely not bad for the price. Parking is an additional $10 and the parking is located underneath an overpass across the street from the museum. We had a great time. We would visit again.

Exceptionally entertaining for young and old alike. Fun and educational. The children’s area is extremely creative and interactive. A must see if visiting the DFW area.

By 9142chanes |

The girl at the ticket desk said it was a 2hr deal. She is wrong. To go through everything is at least 4hrs. Lots to look at and lots to interact with. Very cool Dinosaur exhibit. The lego exhibit was there when we went and it was very cool.

By Teacher Traveler |

The Perot Museum is such a fun play to go and learn. When we are in Dallas, we try to go for a visit.

By ZeemomX3 |

I love the Perot. It is so well done, and the exhibits are fascinating. I also like that much of it is about the nature and science of Texas, in particular the fantastic dinosaur room. Many parts are interactive, and the learning is even deeper because of it. The current special exhibit “ The Art of the Brick” is tremendous!

By Sharon B |

Such a wonderful variety of exhibits, this place will take a few visits to capture completely, but every exhibit is engaging, fun, smart and impressive! Especially love the part of the dinosaur exhibit where you can watch people working on releasing fossil bones from rock - actually happening right before your eyes! So much to see - definitely visit!

By sandy |

Is this a museum or amusement park? Get there early and make plans to stay all day to make the most of the admission fees. The admission fee does not include access to all the museum be prepared to pay extra for .... everything. Even with the membership extra for the movie extra for an exhibit ,,,, really Be prepared to go beyond the admission fee at the door. take snacks if you do not want to eat there and be prepared to pay of course for what you eat and don't think the portions will satisfy,,, of course not its so you can buy something else, be prepared to pay or starve. I did not like to pay extra for brick exhibit, it should be part of the museum. But like I said be prepared and if you frown on not wanting to pay Be prepared to get the look and labeled. Be prepared.

Nice museum with plenty to see. Lots of exhibits but several were closed due to COVID. A nice half-day visit, but you could spend much more time there if your schedule allows.

By julesmelrose |

This museum is a fun way to learn about history and science! I loved the interactive exhibits and the building itself is unique. This place is worth the visit!

By jrussellfnp |

It is always a great time at the Perot!! We love to go and my kids never grow tired of it. But, get there early to avoid the crowds. It is ALWAYS crowded later in the day!! This is why the 4 dots instead of 5. It’s hard to enjoy the exhibits sometimes with the high volume. I wish it was limited.

By Ronda Kay C |

Very disappointed that the Perot Museum focuses on the theory of evolution and Darwinism as if that were the truth, and had I known this information, we would not have went in the first place. The museum had a lot of dead birds and animals which was also sad. It was not a happy place.
I believe the Bible and love our Creator because He is kind and if He had not given Adam and Eve a freewill, the world would be a perfect place, but Thank God for Jesus. Anyway, we give it two thumbs down for its so-called science and nature, but it was in a nice building, unfortunately it is an incredible waste of time and space attempting to prop up a conjured up theory.

By Jay J |

While this museum is geared more toward children, we really enjoyed the interactive part and participated in many of the exhibits. The dinosaur area is creative, comparing the dinosaurs with today's animals found in Texas. If you enjoy learning, this is a good place to go, even as an adult.

By sarah123-SA |

Came on a Wednesday and it was packed with school tours. Parking was $15 at a spot under the freeway. Had to fight the crowds of schools just to get in. There are 4 levels and only 3 elevators. Huge crowds of people waiting for the elevators which take forever! Not many hands on activities for little kids. The children part was nice because it was closed off to school groups. We skipped the entire 2 floor because there were just too many people. For the price it’s not worth it all. I would never go back.

By leebaldwin2018 |

The Perot Museum is SO FABLUOUS!! It has MANY inter-active displays, and makes science FUN! It is divided into multiple floors--to appeal to multiple tastes, but for people of ALL ages--the 2nd floor GEMS are spectacular to see!!

By Blake Orson. |

Super science-y and extravagant! Brought the Mrs, the two girls with me, and my buddy Ryan. We had a swell time, absolutely intriguing. There were so many darn people, almost lost Ryan in the crowd. Thank Golly we found him. The sculptures were flippin' scary. Almost doodied myself. Darn Tootin'.

By Debbie W |

I really enjoyed the Perot Museum. I kinda would like to go back without my kids. There was so much to see and do with younger kids (8 and 4) their attention span is not so great outside the kids play area I feel there is more I could have gotten out of it. That said they did have a lot of fun in the play area but they also enjoyed the rest of it because a lot if it is interactive and kept their attention as far as it could. As they get older we'll go again and I'm sure it will be an entirely different experience for them and me.

By Slythe777 |

This place is really cool. They have a large dinosaur fossil exhibit and a beautiful gemstone exhibit. You need to check this place out!

By foodiefamilyUSA |

This is a great science museum in Dallas that is great for all age kids. They have rotating exhibits that come and go so it is always new and interesting. There is a lot of hand on things for the kids to do, so it is not just walking around reading. I think that it is great for teens and little kids alike. When you go, do yourself a favor and watch the 3D movie. It is exciting for the kids and you can have some quiet time to rest your feet after all of that walking.

By Jennifer G |

We went here specifically to see the Lego Exhibit and it was impressive. If I was rating only the Lego exhibit, I would give it 5 stars. This museum is designed for small children. It was a little disappointing that we had to pay $20 admission for the museum plus an additional $10 admission for the Lego exhibit plus $10 for parking. I think we were only there for an hour total. We saw a lot of school groups while we were there. The Lego exhibit is not really something small children would enjoy. If you like Legos, then this exhibit is definitely for you.

By BeachBatik |

Terrible experience from the beginning. Parking is awful and very confusing. You need an app to pay for parking but the app wouldn’t work, so then you have to get in a very long line to try and pay. The museum gives you a time frame to arrive but it’s pointless because everyone who arrived before you is still there. It was so crowded I couldn’t navigate with my wheelchair to see any of the exhibits. People walk right in front of me like I can side step in a wheelchair. It took 20 minutes to get on an elevator that had enough room for my chair because of the crowds and people cutting in front of me. So many people could have used the stairs but didn’t. The bathrooms were so crowded I couldn’t get in with my chair. Granted it was spring break week and I expected crowds but didn’t expect it would be so crowded that even able bodied people couldn’t get close enough to see the exhibits. We gave up after two hours and left. If there had been a need for evacuation I’m sure there would have been many people hurt or trapped.

By fujino1963 |

It was very good that there were many exhibits designed to make it easy to understand nature.
There were many children, and all the children were having fun.

By Lynn H |

We went with a four year old and a six year old. They direct you to start the visit on the fourth floor, which is where there are dinosaur skeletons. They have a good T. rex and a huge Alamosaurus. Several others, many from fossils found in Texas. Informative signs. Behind glass, a paleontologist is cleaning a specimen with tony dental tools and brushes, which is interesting. This was the most interesting and enjoyable part of the visit.

Third floor had minerals and some other stuff about the earth and water.

Second floor was about humans. Seemed like a lot of interactive exhibits but they mostly didn’t work. Some had signs saying they were out of order and others either weren’t working or we couldn’t figure out how to use them.

We ate lunch in their cafe. Salads were good—you tell an employee what ingredients to use, like at a Subway. Indoor Seating was minimal. Plenty outdoors but it was 100 degrees so many people were standing around with trays of food looking for a spot. Kids’ cheeseburger and fries were cold when we got a place to sit.

We watched the 3D movie about dinosaurs. It was pretty good but only lasted about 20 minutes, not worth the extra $8 per person

Last we went to the Childrens museum on the lower level. We told the kids that would be where they could touch things. However it was basically a play area designed for kids five and younger. Extra large Lego’s, climbing structure, kitchen play. They did have several live animals like a tarantula, snake, frog, anole.

The operation seemed efficient. Good employees. Clean place.

By Carmen |

What you would expect from your typical science museum. We were disappointed that the escalator was broken. That may not sound like a big deal until you learn it is one continuous escalator from the first floor to the fourth floor. This museum is definitely more geared towards kids, so expect that.

By Debbie L |

Busy place.
Lotsa cool science exhibits
Big bathrooms
Many places to sit
My 3 grandsons ages 8, 10 and 14 love this place.
Pretty new

By Lungbuster |

What a great place for young minds to explore. Lots and lots of hands on exhibits for the kids. There is and exhibit for everyone from dinosaurs to robots. Very fun

By deburkins |

My wife and I, both late 60’s, came today for a very special exhibit, the Origins: Fossils from the Cradle of Humankind exhibit, ending on March 22. While the exhibit itself was special because it featured two world-renowned early human fossils (or cousins of humans, if you prefer), we enjoyed, too, a walk through the permanent collections of the museum. All were informative, well-explained for general audiences. Kids (and the kid-like) could feel an earthquake, walk among dinosaurs, see water and winds circulating the globe, contemplate earth’s place among the stars and planets, watch scientists at work on the museum’s most recent research finds (today, that included cleaning and repairing Alaskan fossils). The museum and staff are welcoming in every way. What a treat!

By Joseph H |

There are so many great places to see in Dallas that it is hard to narrow them down to those special few. The Ross museum is one of them. As a science and nature museum this is a hands on museum and therefore great for the kids as well as the adults who refuse to grow up. Dinosaur exhibit is better than Baltimore museum, the young children’s area (<6yrs) is fun, educational, interactive learning and play center. This is special museum for all curious people. Getting to the museum and parking can be difficult so follow the guideline found in the museum’s website to make it easier.

By Kristy F |

I've driven by this museum many times & always wanted to visit. It was such a let down. More enjoyable for little kids I guess? There were kids EVERYWHERE and it was complete chaos. I hated it. My daughter didn't like it and she loves museums. Will not be back.

By MsTravelor9 |

Had a great experience. The fossils were the most interesting to me, but the other exhibits were great as well.

By DM_1278 |

This is a good museum with a lot of interactive exhibits, especially good for kids and families. The current lego exhibit is amazing. Dinosaur exhibits are very nice too. Place does seem crowded and crimped in spots.

By Iris C |

A great place to learn and have fun for people of all ages.
The current exhibit named “The Art of the Brick” by Nathan Sawaya is simply amazing!

By Nathan H |

First time to go here It was very educational. Cant wait to take the grandkids. They will find it lots of fun.

By Diane F |

This museum has something for everyone. The ground floor has sports related exhibits that children can enjoy. Lots of fossils and dinosaurs for viewing and picture taking. They have a great exhibit of jems and one of birds. Hands on things to do and they have several movies in 3D. I enjoyed the one about Africa. Outside they have green frogs that you can sit on for photos and they light up at night.

By bacrowe |

7/5/2019 visit that comes with the City Pass. We paid $10 for parking. We got to see a 45minute 3D short film that came with the City Pass purchase. We were able to visit all 4 levels that included earth, space, science, dinosaurs. There is a children area on the LL level. The wait for the elevator can be long.

By Brendan S |

The Perot Museum is truly one that is suited for all ages. It has all the usual natural history stuff - dinosaurs, gems, space stuff - in a format that includes easily-digestible science as well as some very fun interactive exhibits like a “dinosaur disco,” a robotics lab and a sports exhibit testing human performance. There is local flavor with a terrific exhibit on energy extraction focusing on oil and shale gas and Texas flora and fauna. The building itself is also very cool, shaped like layers of rock with escalators on the exterior.

The key motivator for my visit was a temporary exhibit called The Art of the Brick, am extraordinary exhibit of artwork made from Legos.

It’s a well-designed museum that is worth the relatively high price of admission as there is so much to do and see here.

By Ricardo L |

Amazing museum that seems very Lowkey in Dallas. Great variety if interesting exhibits ranging from construction, history, fossils, dinosaurs, architecture. We went for during the Lego towers of tomorrow..so cool to see the worlds tallest buildings modeled with legos. The minerals and gems exhibit are a must see! There were also a lot of things to see outside museum

By ItsYourDestiny |

Fun, informative, interesting! They had extended their discount to nurses as well which I liked- many places only include discounts for firefighters, first responders, and police.

By Kathleen H |

The Perot Museum of Nature and Science is cool. Exhibits are presented so people of all ages, especially children, can learn about the earth, space and the development of animals and humans. There are several interactive displays. Fly like a bird over hills and valleys. Watch while volunteers work on fossils at the dinosaur exhibit. Dallas apparently once was an ocean and on display are a few of the fossils they found of some of the sea creatures. There is even a real human brain and brain stem. Do activities using your brain such as moving along with a video, balancing, drawing upside down, etc. Interesting and informative. There is also a movie theater, great gift shop, and cafe with healthy options. I loved it!

By Michael Walker |

An excellent place to visit if you have a few hours in Dallas. When we read about the museum and its exhibits we thought it would be mainly for children, but it's not.
There are many exhibits which were hands on and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit, particularly the Dinosaur exhibits.

We would highly recommend.

By Misty S |

We live near Dallas, but had never visited the Perot Museum before. My two boys (ages 9 and 3) loved it, especially the dinosaurs. Very interactive and fun!

By JulieTeran |

A huge thank you to the Dallas chapter of NACE for hosting the progressive happy hour at the museum. We enjoyed dinosaurs, cocktails, minerals and gems and living statues, great appetizers, dazzling DJs and did I mention the cocktails?!? Interactive exhibits, good signage and plenty of open spaces for your event combine to offer you THE perfect venue for your next Tyrannosaurus-sized party in Dallas!

By PatLivoniaMI |

We used CityPass to get into this museum, and it was well worth it. Lots of hands on, although there were lots of kids to contend with!! Very nice.

By Bulent H |

Loved this place and thank you Mr. Perot for this valuable donation to Dallas. Our kids loved it and older one is in College. Every floor had a surprise. A definite site for the family with kids. Take the special laboratory experience for microbiology.

By Shani G |

Really enjoyed our visit to the Perot Museum this week. This is only the second time I have seen archaeologists working in an on-site lab. I really enjoyed the dinosaurs, the birds (particularly the flight interaction video), and the mineral gallery. Skipped the information about oil drilling on 3rd floor.

By GoinPlaces63 |

We went using our reciprocity from our local state museum. What a great way to learn more about Texas. Although we were warned, the school groups cleared out around 2 and it was quite easy to get around.

The variety of displays and topics was well worth the visit. The gem/rock collection is unique and large. Dinosaurs from the area were on display and the didactically were easily understood.

This is well worth the visit and time to enjoy the collection!

By Anne S |

Amazing experience that is very well organized for families. Also paid extra for origins exhibit and was amazed to see bones of a human species from millions of years ago that was recently discovered. Spent 3 hours and that was enough to visit all the floors. Could spend more time, but we didn’t get there until 2 and it closes at 5. Teachers are free entry so take your teacher id.

By Doug L |

We went to the museum and were surprised by the size of the building and pleased with the exhibits, I would suggest starting early in the day as the facility gets more and more full as the day goes on. We left early afternoon as it was getting a bit too crowded to enjoy

By SadgeTravels |

I went to every floor and looked at nearly all the exhibits. Is so much to see it can be overwhelming if try to read everything and see it all. I went there on a Saturday mid-day and it was full of families with children of all ages plus some small groups of young adults. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. Are a number of interactive things to do. I enjoyed watching several children use the robots to move small balls from one enclosed area to another. Had a sandwich at the cafe for lunch. Was OK. Lots of families were eating lunch there too.

By themontanatravelgirl |

I’m a big child at heart and was so excited to see the dinosaurs. We all know they were big but until you are standing next to a skeleton of an animal that weighed 35 tons, well, WOW! There are lots of interesting and interactive exhibits. The solar system was particularly interesting. Also enjoyed the mineral/gemstone exhibit. Just remember there will be lots of children running around and being loud.

By Zen B |

Walk through different floors with many interesting setups of learning materials. You would love it.

By Tracy M |

Went hear with our teens. Lots of interesting things to see. We just did the general admission, but there were several add on options. Been to several Natural History Museums and would say, this one is in top 3 with regards to its prehistoric exhibits and how they are laid out and details explained. Several interesting skeletons, but also intriguing graphics and details to go along. Worth the visit if you have time. I think kids of all age would enjoy a visit as would adults.

By lamarbradley |

We went to the Perot Museum the day before the Eclipse and I think much of Dallas was there. The museum was very interesting and well worth a visit, and I think the museum was about filled to capacity. Huge crowd. The museum staff were very helpful and the exhibits were very well done. My only complaint was that it was crowded, but I think more than a million people had gone to Dallas to see the Eclipse so it was what it was. Awesome Texas history and memorabilia assembly. We bought the Dallas City Pass and this was one of the attractions included. The City Pass was well worth the value. If you are in Dallas, see this museum.

By dougf74 |

Far from five starts over charging for bags in the gift shop, parking and they need longer operating hours
Definitely alot to do there from seeing a real human brain, robotics and dinosaurs
Lego exhibit was kinda cool as well
After paying 99 to get in, 10 to park and over 60 at the gift shop having to pay for a bag for the items I just bought was a real buzz kill

By DWD2020 |

Just go. Do not think about it. If you have the kid for a day, perfect. Otherwise, go with you adult children friends. The place is National Geographic amazing Take a run and race the animals; see which ones you can beat. The sloth lost three times to me. I was truly a feeling of accompllishment.

By Booze777 |

This museum has great exhibits of dinosaurs, science & space. I loved the T-Rex movie theatre. Overall this is a great place for all ages

By Donovan O |

Very interactive museum and has a lot to do for every age bracket in the family. A place where you can learn and have fun with the family due to the interactive design.

By Robert S |

$130 gets you a year of member benefits for two adults and ALL of your kids (or grandkids). This includes free admission and discounts on traveling exhibits, cafe, movies, gift shop, etc. In addition, it has reciprocity free admission to selected museums and similar science centers around the country (~360). For me, that made it a no-brainer to get the membership, since the summer vacation list included a couple of those listed, even though I live 3 hours from Dallas. Just pay attention to the exclusion that disqualifies the reciprocity for free admission to most places on the list that are within 90 miles of your residence.

As for the museum itself: the other reviews are correct; there are a ton of things to see and do. Science, math, sports, physics, engineering, robotics, astronomy, biology, genetics, just to name a few of the themes. The four kids afterward gave it an average of 4.25 stars out of 5...which I think they low-balled given how excited they were while inside.

Oh, and the parking directly underneath the highway, right next to the museum, was a great use of space (as a new member, I prepaid at the box office for $5, instead of having to pay the $10 non-member price). And it was covered!

As a dad, this earns 5 stars for keeping the kiddos and me entertained all day.
