It is a very large market spread out over several floors and buildings. Since it was so crowed it was hard to explore. If you are able to see it on a slow day it could be fun. I don’t know if it is one of those must visits.

Been there, done that - but willing to do it again and again. I love this place. It is one of the better markets I have ever been to. If you want good food, a trinket for family or friends back home, this is the place to go to. Flowers for a friend, this is the place. Cherry's for an afternoon snack, this is the place. The fish guys at the entrance are always so much fun and again, a good photo opportunity. Highly recommended.

Visited with family for first time and it didn’t disappoint. Over great experience. Fish market experience was cool. Didn’t realize the shear amount of shops they had in the market. Foods were great. A bit expensive but you should know that going in. Gum wall was cooler than I would have thought. Close enough to waterfront to be able to take a stroll at any point and time and take a slight break from people. Would recommend for anyone and glad we planned it.

Have to do once, Iconic Seattle. Went on a Saturday so of course it was crowded, still enjoyed walking around. There are several floors and then across the street as well. We made the mistake of grabbing lunch before going. So many fun and unique food vendors, chowder restaurants.
My son found a store on one of the lower floors that carried Pop culture kinds of things: games, posters, Funko pops, etc... Found several unique stores we enjoyed. The fish markets are the best, so many different kinds of seafood, and a "show".

As well-known as Seattle is, it doesn't have much to offer. The market above the harbor is worth a visit. The fish and seafood offerings are particularly worth seeing. The fish throwing show is probably a bit more for tourists.

Definitely a must in seattle. Lots to see and do at every corner. Give yourself at least an hour to explore and come hungry theres a lot of food inside if not right outside the market.

A classic must do. Take a pic in front of the sign. Watch the fish throwing. Eat. Shop. It can get busy so be prepared. Lots of shops close around 4-5pm so be aware.

Just skip it!! Pike Place is aggressively promoted as an attraction so it is sure to draw tons of tourists. They are there in sweaty swarms and the result is teeming crowds hemming you in on all sides. I got no impression that local residents shop there at all. Prices are high, hygiene is not a given. Perhaps I am spoiled by Cleveland's wonderful West Side Market to which locals come regularly to do their shopping - they know they will have a great selection, good quality, good bargains, and vendors that they have known for years. West Side, in other words, is a real market not a freak show. If you insist on going to Pike Place at all you might enjoy the buskers here and there. I would not buy a meal or even a snack but there are, indeed, very colorful displays of flowers. fish. produce. Lots of of overpriced tchotchkes.

When in Seattle you must experience the Market. The atmosphere is fun while checking out the shops & restaurants. This is a starting point for a lot the things to see in the city.

Unfortunately we had been told by several people to visit as it was a fantastic experience and that you would probably need a day to explore and enjoy it - it wasn’t anything like what we were told it was full of beggars, unfortunately a couple of shops/stands we went to we felt slightly intimidated due to us just looking, not touching and not buying a we didn’t enjoy our experience there

What an amazing market for tourists and locals alike. We were there on a Saturday and it was wall to wall people. You literally have to get in a line to file past the fish stalls! Beautiful floral arrangements at unbeatable prices made ahead or to order. Loads of places to eat and drink all on the waterfront. Walkable from most all of downtown tourist attractions and hotels. Worth your time.

Nice market with many small restaurants. Perfect to go for lunch or grab something light to eat. The restaurants close already at 6 pm so not suitable for dinner.

Had a day to myself to explore Seattle and decided to hit the Pike St market. Such a great vibe and lots to see, taste and enjoy. Highly recommend

The market is a fun place to visit. An easy enjoy from where I stayed. Fun to just walk around and people watch. Things are maybe a little pricy but it's still not to bad. You'll need at least an hour to walk the whole place. A must do. Can’t wait to go back!

Busy and atmospheric. Indoor markets with food vendors.
Lots of eat in or take out food places around the outskirts of the markets.
Take in the culture and atmosphere!

More commercial shop than years ago.
A few fish vendors who will ship their items.
Some hand crafted, local vendors with items and foods.
Public restrooms
Multiple levels
Shops located across the street
Very crowded, not easy to navigate for wheel chair or strollers
Ok to say you were there but sadly your not missing much if you don't make the stop

Over decades, I've traveled almost the entire US visiting almost every major city, however didn't find many such markets. At least, not in the sole city center. It strongly reminds on European markets present in such locations in every town and city.
Pike place is one of the oldest US markets dating back to 1907. It has a characteristic shape - long but pretty narrow stretching by the Seattle bay. It consists of two levels with all kinds of stalls - fresh fruit and veg, homemade products, flowers, meat and fish, souvenir and artisan stalls and of course, many food options (we ate pulled pork and beef and it was delicious and reasonably priced). You can bring your meal at a nice open terrace with tables and seats overlooking the bay and city skyline, which was very enjoyable.
The only reason I deduct one star are many homeless, junkies and other creatures when approaching and in front of the market.

This is a must visit location when visiting Seattle. It is huge, allow at least a 2hr visit. 3 floors of venders and lots of eating options. Lots to see and do and also only a short walk to the water front were there is even more to see and do.

We live in Belltown just down the street on Western but we are always in here with friends strolling by the original starbucks ( big line), watching the crew throw fish, having a coffee ( or several), having a brew, having some oysters (at Half Shell etc), poking around at lamplight books (you have to look for this bookstore), etc.
Lowell's and the Athenian also are good for quick bites in historic eateries.
Pike's market is always fun for visitors of all ages on the decks on the west side, there are fmgoid views of the harbor.
Enjoy.

We checked out this market because people seem to think it’s so amazing. Honestly, other than being on the waterfront, it’s a glorified yard sale with mostly junk for sale. Sorry to be harsh, but some of the vendors are selling things that I wouldn’t get a $1 for in a yard sale. There has to be better touristy attractions than this. Crowded, stinky, I’ll leave it at that.

Did a layover on a long trip home. Stayed near the airport and took the light rail to the pike street market. Rail system is amazing. Market was a great way to spend the day down by the waterfront.

Nice open air market with a little of everything . Very busy place so be prepared but it’s not unreasonable. Worth the trip.

One of the places to see in Seattle! A bit overcrowded for my taste. But it’s a super cool market. You can find anything here! The original Starbucks, Beechers, cheese, and the fish place that throws fish at you when you buy it it’s pretty popular. It’s a bit more expensive than Trader Joe’s. There’s lines for certain places like the original Starbucks, which I will never understand! Service can be a bit blah because it’s so busy. But you definitely want to stop by if you are in town.!

This place is a must see in Seattle. It has tons of vendors and stores. The fish market is famous for throwing fish around, you can see it when someone buys fish. There’s multiple floors and it can be complicated figuring out where you are. The gum wall is adjacent to it, and the original Starbucks is right across the street

We took a food tour (Show Me Seattle Food Tours - https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g60878-d799004-Reviews-Show_Me_Seattle_Food_Tours-Seattle_Washington.html) of the Market, and I'm glad we did. Not only did we get to taste great foods, but it provided a great tour of the market and we learned of its history.
The Market is larger than we thought it was, and you could spend hours touring each level with all of the different vendors.
So many fun things to see and taste. There is also a Starbucks, boasting the original logo and ridiculously long lines. Skip the lines and find other things to do!

I came to see the fishing throwing - I was not disappointed. I was lucky enough to see the throw fish both days I attended.
Definitely fun.
I was surprised about all the other items.
There were beautiful flowers - I purchased a $10 that was stunning.
Tasty dark chocolate cherries provided a delicious snack as I traveled through PNW.
Saw the pig statue and the Sleepless in Seattle restaurant.
Definitely way less crowded on a Wednesday noonish than on a Thursday around 2pm.
Can easily spend anywhere from 1-4 hours depending on your interest level.

Crowded and expensive seafood. Recommend Luke's Lobster restaurant just outside the entrance to the market. $41 for a 6oz. lobster roll amd the clam chowder for $11
The fish throwing seafood stall is at the entrance

Very popular and very busy! Lots of options. A tourist trap for sure but a must visit for your visit to Seattle. Great food options in the area

Pike Place Market is definitely one of Seattle’s iconic spots and a fun place to spend a few hours. The atmosphere is electric, with all the vibrant stalls, street performers, and the famous fish-throwing vendors. It's a true reflection of the city’s character – busy, colorful, and full of life. I enjoyed browsing through the fresh produce, flowers, and unique handmade goods.
The food options are fantastic, too. From artisan cheeses to fresh seafood, there’s something for every taste. The clam chowder is a must-try, and you can’t leave without grabbing a pastry from Piroshky Piroshky!

My dad and i went to the pike place market and you HAVE to go to the small samosa shop. These samosas were so delicious and they were 100% worth it. This whole trip i have been thinking about the samosas and you just have to go they are so good. They surved them with 2 delicious sauces and i was pleasantly surprised by how good they were.

I visit pike place every time I’m in Seattle. It’s always a great vibe and the food is amazing. Parking can be an issue but definitely worth it!

Great variety of Market items accessible in all weather conditions in the heart of downtown Seattle. Parking isn’t difficult, but a lot of traffic on the I5.

Very crowded as the day progresses but worth it to see all the flowers and food. Loved all the flowers and saw the famous fish throwing.

Big scam if not trample and exorbitant prices, a st Jacques shell in tasting $7. We dream It is not because we are Breton.

What a fun place!! We had clam chowder and fresh salmon at an outdoor venue and it was delicious. Lots of cute little stores with everything imaginable. The most beautiful flowers!! Lots of walking and it can be very crowded.... Go early!

We wandered through for a couple of hours, eating small bites as we went. We ended up picking up fresh fruit to bring back to our hotel room. Very fun and lively spot!

Iconic Seattle. Like a permanent farmer's market plus some small, independent stores. Great for local produce, fish (including the stall famous for throwing fish), or flowers. Depending on how much you want to shop, you could spend less than an hour to walk through or a whole day to fully explore.

The photo ops were endless, starting with the iconic sign for the Public Market Center. Loads of tulip vendors this time of year (April) which no doubt will morph into other seasonal flowers, plus several large fish mongers (doing the traditional fish throwing). Talented street musicians playing pianos added to the cacophony. Don’t miss Chukar Cherries for a sweet taste of Washington’s own dried cherry treats! We were hoping to see more lunch food choices and less clothing and merch vendors, but that’s just us.

Arrived early but still crowded. Wow! The fresh seafood on ice was amazing! Even had the opportunity of watching the fish throwing from one stall to another. A crowd favorite. Many flower vendors. Prepared foods, fresh doughnuts, restaurants and food stalls. Underground parking garage with somewhat "tight" parking spots ( great if you have a small car). Lots of tourists and locals alike.

Underwhelming. The reviews of this area led me to think it would be more than it was. I saw a big flea market. There are shops and bars surrounding the district, but nothing that made me say "Wow!" Vancouver definitely had the wow factor.

Cool place with a lot of vendors. The stores across from it are fun also. You can easily spend a few hours here and the surrounding area.

The most popular tourist spot in Seattle! Which means it can be INSANELY crowded. Tons of shops and restaurants but don't forget - there are several levels of stores, not just the ones on street level. Early morning is best for getting some breakfast or flower bouquets.

This is a colorful and busy market. A must visit when in Seattle. There is something for everyone here form eateries to souvenir shops. The fish stand puts on a show and the flower stands will fill your eyes with color. The original Starbucks is here and one can spend a couple of hours visiting. Not a fun place for small children, people with limited mobility, or pets. Parking is very limited here, and not recommended.

Terrible experience. We are elderly and wanted to see Pikes Place. First there was no where to sit down. No where to go to the bathroom. Street is cobblestone and impossible to walk on with a cane. Homeless people and spaced out druggies harrassing you constantly. Finally got a Ubber and hightailed it to the airport where we sat around for 5 hours. At least there were seats and a rest room there!

A crazy place with vendors everywhere selling all kinds of things from fish to flowers!! Very crowded but a fun place!! Lots of places to eat here!!!

Visited on 07/06/2023
Really interesting market with lots of different and varying stall holders selling their goods and products, and little food places to enjoy a bite to eat. There are lots of nooks and crannys to explore and it's quite big so you could easily get lost in there. We enjoyed the atmosphere and walking around it, finding the section so you could see the views over the city towards the ocean was nice. We also found the Bronze Pig, and managed to catch a glimpse of the fishermans flying fish performance they put on.
Could very easily be a tourist trap, but not as much as the 1st Starbucks located across the road that seemed to have a permanent line down the street. The market was much better.
The gum wall was nice for a glimpse but not sure why photos are taken, as it's pretty gross knowing all of it was in people's mouths.
Overall, it is nice to spend a morning of afternoon having a wander around.

Personally I enjoy seeing all of the fresh flowers and wandering for a few minutes. I think most of the shops on the lower level aren’t worth visiting but that all depends on what you are into. If you have never been it doesn’t hurt to walk all the levels. Lower levels are a lot of vintage items or trinket shops.

The market is several floors and corridors of hidden gems The famous flying fish is just one of the many different types of shops The food spots around the market are also special, best mac and cheese! The only thing i was disappointed with the lack of sittings areas to enjoy all the food

Is it a tourist Mecca? - check
Is it disorganized? - check
Does it smell? - check
Can you get bids ass lobster tail and fancy calamari? Check
Can you get humungous flower bouquets for $25? Check
Can you people watch and see some parrots? Check
Just weigh the pros and cons and decide.

Pike’s place is a must see at once. When there check out the fish toss and the first Starbucks. Starbucks will have a line but remember there is merchandise only available at this location.

Not the best public market I've been to. I think my expectations were very high going in but other than taking your token tourist photo with the Public Market and clock in the background the appeal of the place where's off pretty quickly! The Pike Place Fish market was the star of the show where they do their iconic fish toss. Everything else is just overpriced, crowded, and dirty. We stopped in Vancouver before heading down to Seattle and Granville Public Market there was so much better. Heck even Reading Terminal Market in Philly or Quincy Market in Boston was better. Sure they're all crowded but at least those markets are cleaner and don't have an alley way full of old chewed up pieces of gum. I always wondered where COVID really started at and after seeing that gum filled alley way now I know where.🍬🧱🤢

On my first day in Seattle I came here to explore and have brunch. The people working here are very friendly. The variety of produce is amazing. I brought back chocolate cherries and shirts from here. My greatest find was a De La Soul cd for 2$, you never know what you’ll find!
I visited the market at least two more times because it is huge! There are also many gems.
Pike Place should be on anyone’s itinerary in Seattle.

We spent an entire day around this area. Walked to nearby stores in the city and down to the waterfront. We were nervous about driving down there in our rental car, but we got there before 9 am and it was super easy! Definitely recommend the Pike Place ramp! Food, culture, waterfront, fun shops and unique things to see. We had a great time!

Definitely a must see while in Seattle. But don't just stick to the main hall with the fish throwers. Go deep into the other hallways where there are bookstores, souvenir shops, etc. And make sure you get a grilled cheese sandwich from outside.

Can't believe all the hype about this place. We walked down Pike St about 6pm looking for somewhere to eat. Did NOT look like a typical gentrified water front as expected.
Dark dingy shop units ( closed due to time of day) Filthy steps and corners stinking of urine, probably because of the dozens of homeless folk prowling the area. We went back up and even tried McDonald's only to find it's blocked off with Take way at the door only, probably due to all the itinerants on the street.

Must have seen, it's great. Here you can buy fresh fish or fruit, but also handmade things. The seafood is all on display, so it sometimes smells like fish. The first Starbucks is also located here.

It is definitely a food, lovers paradise and amazing atmosphere and all kinds of really cool souvenirs. Definitely worth your time.

So different from anything we have in upstate NY and I wish we got to spend more time here, but we were out with family who had toddlers and this one one of our last stops of the day.
So many beautiful flower bouquets!! And they were so cheap and affordable! If we lived here, we would have fresh flowers ALL the time!
We did get to see the fish throwing. We’ve personally seen this before (not here), it’s neat, gross and super glad we didn’t get fish juice on us. Lol
I would go back to walk around if we had time, I feel like there is so much to explore here.

A tourist trap, littered with tourists and difficult to navigate the halls of the market. The good were extremely overpriced. The Fish Markets were cool to look at when passing by but again, very expensive. The only real deal seemed for me was the floral booths selling the most beautiful bouquet of flowers for $20-$50. If I wasn’t going on a cruise the next day I would’ve bought some, they were gorgeous. The road is cobble stone, the original Starbucks is there but expect a line. The Market overlooks the water with a Ferris wheel. The market booths accept card but will charge you an additional 3% to use it. So if you have cash, use it. We visited a couple times during our trip but were not at all impressed.

I was skeptical about visiting but was pleasantly surprised. There is a parking garage at the market for easy access. There are several shops and vendors selling memorabilia/shirts, etc. There are several nice tees/sweatshirts to choose from. The first Starbucks is there and was only a 15 minute wait on an early weekday. We purchased several mugs and cups. A nice place to walk around. The flowers are beautiful and inexpensive for the bouquets. Beautiful to look at but not for travelers. I would definitely go back.

A fun and chaotic place with lots of sights (and smells!) to keep you busy for an afternoon! There’s so much to see (and smell) from fish, produce, flowers, and more! Multiple floors of little shops will keep you busy. There’s food and little shops and even a dentist. A must visit for anyone’s first time visiting Seattle!

A great walk around this busy market, offering all kinds of fresh produce.
A vibe of its own amongst the old port buildings. Queues for some of the small popular restaurant/bars down Post Ally.
A great area for a stroll around!

The farmer, seafood and flower vendors, which are interesting, have been overwhelmed by sellers of random tourist glitz, like a street fair. T shirts, inexpensive jewelry, scents, oils, random stuff having nothing to do with Seattle or the history of the market. It was crowded and slow on a Sunday and we had already eaten so we didn’t need street food. It is worth a look, but not the prime attraction people say it is. I would not bother with it. Uncharming.

Best experience in Seattle! Love wandering round all the stalls with incredibly friendly and knowledgeable vendors, who love giving out a free sample!
Try going early for a quieter experience.

Unfortunately, we were only able to get to the market after hours. There is so much to do and see on the pier near it. Maybe next time, Seattle!

The market is a unique part of Seattle l, it is worth seeing at least once! The fish throwers added a unique vibe and were key note speakers at a conference I attended, and they did an outstanding job. Truly they make the markets The flowers were beautiful and the market provided a variety of shops. The dried fruit was delicious and the worker was so polite. It was very crowded. Walking from the market during the early evening, I did not feel safe. I definitely say go, but be aware of your surroundings and go early.

So many choices to make here. Market fresh vegetables and fruits. Vendors with all sorts of neat things and wonderful Resturant choices. The fish mongers are amazing. A tourist dream come true!

Very interesting market with lots of stalls selling a variety of items from seafood to souvenirs. There is also the OG Starbucks store which has long queue all the time. The area around the market also has many shops/bakeries/restaurants - you can easily spend 2-3 hours there.
Personally enjoyed visiting the market and would highly recommend it!

Worth the trip to the Market, to see the fish fly, you need to buy one or be there when someone is buying one! Remember the Original Starbucks is right there as well. Lots of other fun shops, and the gum wall, but only go to the gum wall if you want a contact high, there is a lot of smoke there. Things start shutting down close to 5, so get there early.

Great place to kill some time, watch, buy and eat food. You will definitely not leave hungry! Make sure to eat several small things to fully appreciate the market!

The oldest market in seattle. Have many shops to roam around from flowers to food to soviniers.
Have the second starbucks outlet also.
Back side is lake the view is awesome. one side skyscrappers, one side lake ships and aircraft going above. Very nice lively place to visit.
Other tourist spots very near like Space Needle

Lots of stales with food, craft and flowers
We spent a good time around
lots of food option but big queue everywhere!

We were told in forums and here to arrive early to the market, so we arrived at 8 AM. Big mistake. Things didn't open (some vendors didn't even arrive) until between 9-10 AM. We ended up waiting until 9 AM, then heading to Piroshky Piroshky when they opened because, again, we'd heard of crazy lines. There was no line at 9 AM... I just walked right up and ordered. We got some lovely cider as well at a cider stand (lady let us taste them all before choosing one!), and sat overlooking the water until about 10 AM when more things opened. Then we did a full round. It got a little crowded in some spots (the flower row, for example) but that's only because the aisle is narrow and people are also kind of being oblivious and stopping in the middle of the aisle. It wasn't more crowded than other markets I'm used to such as the Charleston city market or my local farmer's market (it's a big one where I live). Around 11 AM, most shops would be open in the lower levels.
What I didn't realize until later in the day when we were walking up from the waterfront is exactly how many levels of shops there are. We thought there were two. There are eight. And they look pretty cool, but most were closed when we walked through that morning around 10:30ish and again that evening.
One could easily spend an entire day here, especially if exploring the shops or taking breaks to sit out by the water. We spent about 3.5 to 4 hours, saw the fish throwing, had cider, piroshkies, mac and cheese from Beecher's, sat a lot by the water, bought bing and rainier cherries, and explored all the main level stands. We loved it.

As a tourist attraction I would give it 3 out of 5. It had a flea market sort of vibe with plenty of arts/crafts, souvenirs and local cuisine (mostly seafood). Parking was a challenge.

Touristy and crowded so highly recommend going early if you want to have a good look around. Some nice and interesting little stores and stalls. Lots of eateries.

We parked in the parkade and did not have to wait for a stall. We paid for the parking using the QR code when we were leaving. Pike Place Market was really interesting to walk through. Lots of cool artisanal items and food. The fishy smell was very strong in some areas. The bathroom on the lower level was pretty nasty. There are little notes on stores with directions to the other touristy things like the gum wall. We followed the directions and had no issue finding the gum wall. Took a picture in front of the iconic Public Market Center sign. Was fun to walk around.

Loved Pike Place Market. A huge choice of food stalls, unique stalls selling a massive array of merchandise. It is crowded but weekday not too bad. Would love to try each food vendor. Flying fish stall was amusing. Love the whole vibe of the place.

Pike Market is a must-see if you are visiting Seattle. It is filled with shops, restaurants, and fresh seafood. There is so much to see and so many great smells from all of the wonderful food. Plus you get great views of the bay!

I really like local fairs. And the one in Seattle didn't disappoint me. Street food, cold beer, polite population willing to make your trip unforgettable! Wherever you go, visit a local market! Very good! 😍😍😍😍

Overall, Pike Place Market is a very interesting place with many shopping opportunities. On the day we visited (a Friday), it was extremely crowded. It was very difficult to move through some parts of the Market. We were able to find a seafood market in a less crowded area to get some lunch.

One of my favorite places in town is also popular with lots of other people. Very busy and very crowded, a somewhat old fashioned food market that has become a place of entertainment. Food takes front and center, but often in the form of prepared foods that people sit and enjoy.

A wonderful market with lots on offer. Amazing fishmongers, if only we had an apartment with a kitchen to cook up these delights! Great place to wonder around for a while. You can visit gum alley which my kids thought was great but turned my stomach !!

iconic Seattle landmark that didn't disappoint. We were there on a beautiful and crowded Easter Saturday afternoon. I definitely enjoyed the samples (and probably spent too much on the connected products). There are a lot of food choices in the Market.

Pike Place Market is like a large indoor market selling fish, fruits/vegetables, arts and crafts, a lot of beautiful flowers and other items. Of course, one of the big things to watch is the fish sellers tossing a fish. We, and quite a few other tourists, were standing around a fish seller waiting to take a video of the toss. After a while, I asked what needs to happen for him to toss a fish – and was told they usually toss the fish when someone buys one – but if I wait a bit longer, he’ll toss it anyways. So I waited, and indeed they tossed the fish back and forth. I then gave him a tip and he tossed the money over yelling something like “incoming tip” for their tip jar. Pike Place Market also has a variety of shops, restaurants and bakeries in addition to the large market. It covers several floors, so spend some time exploring. Also, be sure to check out the gum wall which is more interesting than it sounds.

There are so many shops it would take days to get through. But, even if you only have time to take a quick walk through the market, it's still something you have to visit at least once if you travel to Seattle.

Took a taxi straight to the market from the airport because we had a long layover and I am so glad we did! From the vendors who throw fresh fish, to the flower market, to the waterfront it was all wonderful! The market can be a bit of a maze, so getting outside of it and walking down the road a ways is recommended if you’re feeling like you’re going in circles. I also recommend Old Stone Brewery while you’re there.

The location was really cool but be prepared. It was PACKED and parking was really difficult if you are trying to park in their garages. That being said, so many types of products and friendly workers.

There's really nothing special that sets Pikes Place apart from any other market of this kind. Except for the relaxed, laid back atmosphere, perhaps. We were here in late September on a day/time when it wasn't particularly crowded and enjoyed our visit.
Check out Papardelles pasta, we bought some orzo to make at home, I'm sure it will be exquisite. And they offer recipe suggestions too.

A labyrinth of fresh ingredients, restaurants, craftspeople, cafés, and more. A great place to get lost while shopping.

Markets to visit if you visit Seattle, a mix of city life and tourism.
Very scenic both in the exposure of some products and staff to the sale
Structured on 6 levels seems to me 4 basements and 2 above the street level the most crowded and characteristic.
You will find all kinds of objects, food and drinks
Especially in the upper floors there is the sale of food products etc .. from the most classic to the most elaborate. Many types of fried, fishmongers with ready-made products. From classic oysters to crab claws
Sale both to be consumed on site and not.
In the basement several restaurants, pubs with adjoining breweries, souvenir shops and gifts also for the home.
It definitely deserves to take some time

I think most people only know the "fish-throwing" part of the market. But there is so MUCH more. Eclectic shops on every level, great food options! My favorite part are all the flowers! Absolutely beautiful! I even bought a bouquet for our AirBnb( only $10!) Look up the story behind all flower growers, it is so interesting! Too many places to mention by name , but they have a great directory ( although the map is difficult to follow) Don't miss it!

Straconsigliato also by the locals I visited several times in the week of stay the market. Definitely quaint with the ability to buy a lot of souvenirs and eat everything a little. Not to be missed

This is definitely a must see. We went on a sunny week day (Wednesday) and it was PACKED. I bought the most beautiful flowers and some amazing Indian food. If you can come early I would to try and beat the crowds. But irregardless it’s worth the visit!

I'm not sure what I was expecting but it was more than what they offered here. The market had some food and a lot of craft like stalls but overall it wasn't that big of a deal.

A touristy thing to do but worth it. The whole area can be covered in a couple of hours depending on the stops you make while walking through. There are numerous different food booths to try, fresh food to buy, crafts, etc.

Pikes place is bustling with activity. There are so many interesting things to do there. Nice way to spend a relaxing afternoon. This is a place where you can spend an hour or spend a day and still find stuff to do.

This is by far my favorite thing to do in Seattle. It is a huge indoor/outdoor market full of vendors, restaurants, coffee & donut shops, specialty shops and so much more. We could spend a whole day in and around the market and go back the next day and see more. Our routine was eat breakfast at Lowell’s, stroll around, have donuts at Daily Dozen, take in an Argosy sightseeing tour, walk around the piers, have dinner, go to the hotel and crash. So much fun!

Fun visit to Pike Place Market! Lots of interesting vendors and pretty colors all around! It is crowded so just be ready to walk around with lots of other people!

You find a great diversity of unimaginable products of all kinds, plus unique culinary experiences that I did not know

Pike Place Market is a great tourist attraction in downtown Seattle. If you’re visiting Seattle, it’s a must-see tourist attraction. The market has great views of the Puget Sound, and numerous shops and restaurants.

The walk through the Market in mid September was interesting, entertaining and enjoyable. We were mainly attracted to the seafood vendors but enjoyed sampling other food options as well. Pikes Place Market has much to offer and you would need a couple of days to see it all. Metered parking for your car is available in several locations nearby for a nominal fee. It’s also an easy walk from a number of downtown Seattle hotels and from the Light Link Rail station. I would recommend taking a small backpack for carrying drinks and other items you might purchase. A small folding umbrella came in handy because it rained during our visit. No trip to the Market would be complete without a quick visit to the infamous Gum Wall! The street vendors also are a must see if they are there.

Go as early as you can and try to avoid the weekend days. We visited the market at 9:00am on a Saturday in early September. The market was busy but not unmanageable. We watched the fishmongers throw their fish, had fresh donuts, saw the long line at the original Starbucks (and laughed) and bought a few items from the vendors. The market has numerous levels underground so don't miss out on those areas. Plan at least half a day for the visit. The crowds grew considerably as it got later. It was possibly due to the two cruise ships visiting the area.

Absolutely amazing produce, fish and artisans!!! There something for everyone here. An elevator is available to get to the many floors of items to see and buy. A very unique experience!

No longer feel safe going here. I visited with my husband and our children. When my husband walked away for a short moment to throw away some trash, a man approached me...I was holding my youngest child's hand and he asked me for money...I looked at his face and it had dried blood all over it. I felt extremely uncomfortable and tried to walk away from him and he hit my arm trying to push me. My husband scared him off after a bunch of yelling, but no security ever showed up, though someone did say they would. We only stayed for maybe 30 minutes and bumped into the same guy 2 more times threatening to kill my husband and asking anyone and everyone for money. And yet, no security ANYWHERE. This was all on a random Tuesday afternoon. can't even image going there on the weekend. Can't see visiting for a while. The addict problem is getting terribly out of hand.

We missed the fish throwing unfortunately. Lovely farmer’s market. If you want fresh flowers, this is the place to go in Seattle. Lots of fresh fruits, flowers, honey products, etc.

This is one of the most recognizable Markets (Thanks to social media) where one can find a great selection of produce, meats, flowers, fruits, candy and naturally, the First Starbucks. The fruit and flower stalls were charming, and the “Pig” décor all over the place was interesting. The “Gum Wall” is more of a tourist attraction, but frankly, I found it rather disgusting. And, of course, we have all seen the “fish throwing and catching” scenario on TV, and heard it from friends, but it was great to watch that in person here.
We came here later in the afternoon, so most of the stores were about to close. We were just glad to walk around without the legendary crowds of the locals and the tourists. We spent a little time exploring a few hidden shops inside the buildings and then walked down to view the water of the Puget Sound to take a bunch of photos and videos. Now we can at least say that “We were here” – lol
This was our last day in Seattle, so we did not buy anything. But there is a lot to see and experience at this marketplace that will surely tease all your senses and bring a smile to your face.
A “Must See” when in Seattle.

So fun! Amazing variety! We spent an entire day exploring this place!! Highly recommend for a few hours. There’s an intriguing spot around every corner. Just keep going for fantastic finds, food and friendly people.

Amazing view, great food and so much to discover in this market! Ended up going back there 3 times within a month and I am now missing it!
Better with a tour to fully understand the history of this market though!

I've always wanted to come to this place, and several of the locals weren't too positive about coming here. They said don't go, there's a lot of homeless, it isn't like it used to be. Well, we went anyway and I'm so glad! It was full of vendors with various arts and craft work, bouquets of beautiful flowers, restaurants to eat at, seafood stands and I even saw the one place throwing a fish! I really liked it here. There were a lot of people and that's to be expected. We also took a boat tour with Salish Boat Tours while we were in that area and it was great as well. It was a beautiful day that was relaxing and very enjoyable.

We enjoyed walking around the market and checking out the various vendors. You can spend as little or as much time as you want here. A nice way to spend some time while in Seattle.

My second time visiting Pike Place Market, and it never gets old! My cousin lives in Seattle and even she said it’s impossible to check out every single store here it’s just that massive! This place is truly a sensory overload in the best way possible!
They have everything from colorful flower stalls, fresh produce, aromatic food shops, local crafts, and hidden nooks waiting to be discovered. I know it sometimes gets a bad rep for being too touristy, but it’s the heart and soul of Seattle if you think about it.
There’s something so lively and authentic about this market with the mix of locals, visitors, street performers, and that iconic energy in the air. I truly love the variety they offer here, and that’s exactly what makes it so iconic.
Absolutely a must-visit when you’re in Seattle, please do not skip this one!

A must see if you’re downtown in Seattle! Watching them throw fish is fun! Love seeing all the shops! The flowers were amazing!

Walked around the market. Lots of different stalls and shops. Large queues for Starbucks and other famous spots which reduces enthusiasm to further explore. Not far from the cruise terminals. Well worth a visit.

A must-do in Seattle. Forget the tourist trap Space Needle. Most of our party arrived early, went to the Space Needle, and said that it was not worth the time or money at $60 each.
Pike Place Market is iconic.

My husband was really looking forward to visiting the fish stalls in Seattle's Pike Place Market, as he had heard so much about the workers throwing fish back and forth. Unfortunately, our experience was a bit of a letdown. The marketplace was extremely crowded and everything seemed overpriced. It was hard to move around amidst the crowds, and we couldn't even see much because of the sheer number of people. If you don't like crowded places, I wouldn't recommend visiting. Despite this, I have to admit that Seattle is a beautiful city, despite being quite expensive in terms of dining, activities, and shopping.

We hit Pike Place first thing in the morning to try to avoid the crowds. Starbucks is an obvious stop and did not disappoint. The different vendors were near, the gum wall was kinda neat and gross in its own way. My daughter was shocked to find a homeless lady camping out in the bathroom, and there were lots of other homeless people around, but that par for the course in any major city. A definite place to grab a coffee or beer and people watch!

We went to the market area twice and spent several hours walking around. It's enormous! There are so many places to eat and shop, plus the original Starbucks, which is fun. This is also the jumping off point for boat tours. The market was not busy on a nice Friday morning, but got much more crowded as the day went on.

This was one of my favorite places that we went to. There was so much here, you couldn’t possibly see it all in one day. We found so many wonderful gifts here, and the food was heavenly. We got to see the fish tossed by the fish mongers. That was so much fun. I can’t wait to come back here again.

Very cool place to visit. Plan for a few hours. So many vendors. Right downtown. The market was close enough to walk from our hotel.

This was my first time back in Pike Place Market in Downtown Seattle after 7 long years. The difference this time around was I traveled solo & the weather was colder (it was sunny!). Came both on Saturday morning (10-11:30AM) and with two of my friends from 4:30PM-5PM. Also, stayed in downtown which was only a good 20-minute walk from my hotel (Hilton Garden Inn).
Memories of this place was that this place has a large Farmer's Market of some sort for fruits, flowers, vegetables, etc. Also went to the Gum Wall in Seattle, which ofc to the untrained eye (gross!) but has an unique characteristic of Seattle. Then of course the original Starbucks, which I didn't visit on Saturday due to the crowds but came with my friends on Sunday late afternoon, which was surprisingly less crowded, meaning at most we'd wait 25 minutes.
Definitely one of the few iconic places you should visit in Seattle. We will be back next Summer.

It's busy. It's nosy. it's crowded.
But we loved it.
Full of atmosphere, and certainly not just for the tourists - it sells 'real' stuff too.
You can go round in 15 minutes, or you cuold spend half a day ... it's up to you
But if you visit Seattle, you have to go there

We have been in the market 3 times in the last two days - late Saturday afternoon, 9.30am on a Sunday, then midafternoon the same day
It is definitely better early in the day. Much less crowded, room to move and see
Make sure you visit the less visited floors below the main fish/flowers/craft drag - some weird and interesting shops down there

A must see while you are visiting Seattle. Fresh seafood and vendors, fresh cut flowers. Places to eat and just a neat place to wander around and check out.

Large market with diverse shopping and dining options. We didn't see it the throwing of the fish, but kind of just did a short walk through with a stop for ice cream. There was more to see if we hadn't been tired and ready to return to our hotel from a day of sightseeing.

Very busy market with all sorts of things to see / buy / smell. Great way to spend a couple hours, or more. Shops with all sorts of things, from fresh fruit / fresh fish to antiques!

Pike place is a must do location
The tower is a must do
Ride the monorail for a time
Take a bus tour to some wineries
Take in some dockside seafood.

I walked here from my hotel during a business trip during the middle of the day. It was fun and I'm glad I went. It was much bigger than I anticipated. Wear comfortable shoes and allow yourself time. It was busy and crowded, but I did not feel overwhelmed. I would recommend going here.

Quintessential Seattle. So much great seafood. Do pick up some smoked salmon and try some hot, lavender apple cider. Visit the gum wall- gross and impressive at the same time. Parking deck can be kind of tricky. Make sure to read directions and pay before you pull up to the exit if using the on site garage.

While I visited the place after a gap of a year, a visit to this iconic place rejuvenates you. Eye candy with its views & surroundings.

It’s one of Seattle’s “Unpacked” – at least that’s how it’s described in all the guidebooks – but you have to get an idea of it yourself in order to agree with this verdict, i.e. there are a lot of people in a tight space here. It is noisy, the individual stores (to be found on different floors) have predominantly "crime stuff" (even if there are of course also fresh food such as vegetables, fruit, meat and fish here....is just a little more expensive here!)
And there's a "Zoltar fairground vending machine" in the basement - one of the kind that predicts the future for you (and back in the movie "Big" with Tom Hanks) for a few cents.
Yes, you should look at it (but just with the right expectation)

Everyone visits this place in Seattle but for good reason. It has a little bit of everything. Shops all over the place and lot's of food options.

Amazing. So worth it..dahlias were the main flowers. Just stunning. It’s a must see if you visit. So many levels.

This was our second visit, after 10 years, and the market is just as much fun. The flower bouquets are incredible, the fish is fresh, and its great fun just walking through and enjoying the ambiance. Just be aware that by late morning it gets pretty crowded, and that everything surprisingly shuts down at 5 pm.

The market was crowded, but not hard to get through or to look at all the wonderful things that were offered. From food, fresh flowers, arts and crafts, collectibles...the market has so many things to offer! Its a must see when going to Seattle!

So, I'm an idiot and I just thought this was a place that they threw fish (sigh).
NO, there is SO MUCH HERE! Bakeries, restaurants, the first Starbucks (but with a massive line, so just go get your Starbucks from the one that's like a block away from here), beautiful flowers (those giant peonies!), the freshest produce, and all sorts of goodies! Of course, everyone and their grandmother is here too, so be prepared for crowds. Just have patience and enjoy!

We had rented a minivan from SeaTac and drove to Pikes Market, parking below it. Our room was not ready at the hotel so we decided to have lunch at a French restaurant there. Best scallops ever! We went back to our van and it had been broken into. Passenger door window and be the locals accounts a “ smash and grab “. It was later identified as a Late model F150 ford with Oregon plates. Several items electronic items were airtagged and we could see their location on 3 rd and later Denny by the Space needle.
We were told that is where the drug dealers and transients are. It’s a rough area, we shouldn’t go there.
We had an awful three hours with no recovery, however the entirety of the weekend was great. I wouldn’t want to live there. Million dollar homes with million dollar views, but terrible people without regard to person rights of others.

What a great walk through the shops and produce stands. Amazing flowers and fruits and vegetables. Lots of shops with a little bit of everything. We went early and it was nice, went back later in the day and it was swamped with people.

A lot to see and do, I'm sure it's a great market if you know your way around and get there early. Middle of the day on Friday was entirely too many people for me, made it difficult to even get around. We did escape downstairs to a pub for some great beer and a snack!

Loved, loved !!! Great booths, beautiful flowers, the fish "throw" is fabulous. Lively, fun and totally worth the visit. We ate at a French crepes restaurant which was good. There are several floors of hidden gems. Schedule a whole day to explore.

Actual visit was May 31, 2021.
I have been several times and always go to store in photo. One of my favorite "finds" was a vial of neroli oil. Only had 1 bottle and had to look around to randomly find it... out of this world true oil at around $10. Top 5 stores at Pike Place Market.

Cool, market experience, food, art, and so much more great to walk around and go grab lunch after.
You can buy souvenirs it’s quite busy, but it’s manageable to walk around and a cool view

How can you go to Seattle and not visit the Fish Market??
It was super crowded when we visited - so much so that it was hard to stay together.
Enjoyed seeing the fish mongers throw fish - and the fresh flowers were to die for!
There are a lot of stalls for food so it would be a good place to go for a meal.
(And it is right across the street from the original Starbucks!)
In general, glad we went and checked it off the travel list, but did find it a bit dirty and overwhelmingly crowded. Maybe it would be better to try early in the morning?

Pike Place market can be a touristy destination but the shops are actually good. Visiting in the winter and on weekdays will make it a manageable experience. Take the time to explore some of the hidden gems in the market and you might be surprised what you find.

Pike Place Market is like a permanent farmer's market. As it is close to the ocean, you will find all kinds of sea creatures you may not have seen before. Some of them make you wonder if they are really edible. They have plenty of veggies, fruits and flowers too. Other oddities like picture frames, artistic creations and crafts are also available. We ended up buying a couple of tops for our grand children that seem to spin for ever. Worth spending an hour or so here and then you can walk along newly built promenade surrounded by strips of beautiful garden areas. Lot of restaurants nearby.

A must see free of charge attraction when visiting Seattle. Bustling with excellent sea food and market stalls and a beautiful view of Seattle bay.

Many places to see and eat at. I had a good time walking around and seeing all the market had to offer. Of course you can get any kind of seafood you want here.

So many stores/shops. So many levels. Definitely a great place to walk around, eat and drink, shop for souvenirs and beautiful flowers.

We enjoyed our visit at Pike Place. I was interesting to see the variety of shops, food markets, and restaurants. There is a variety of restaurant options with varying price ranges. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning and it was busy both times. So much to see and observe. A great place to people watch.

One cannot go to Seattle and not spend some time at this market.
Wandering around, you can see why. From the gum wall to the tossing of fish, there is a lot to see and experience.
We were there on a Tuesday afternoon in early September and the place was packed. It was a bit overwhelming at times, so we headed down to the lower levels and did some exploring there. Interesting shops on every level.
Plenty of food options too. The famous chower is worth the wait and some tacos we had were amazing!
Just make sure to give yourself enough time to wander and not rush.

Lots to do here, lots of money to be spent. Fresh fruits, veggies, fish flying everywhere of course. Some unique shops, some tourist traps and lots of places to eat. Unlike most markets, this one is open 7 days a week. Give yourself a few hours to browse. It’s close to the water, the original Starbucks is across the street

Pike Place Market is supposedly the heart of Seattle. It is a multi-storey market with majority of stores being single outlet, family owned enterprises. You can easily spend an entire day here browsing and checking out different wares available for sale. You will definitely find some stuff which is not available anywhere else

Very fun place to explore. Right by the water as well so amazing views of the waterfront. You could go here in several visits and still not see everything there is!

Despite the enormous amount of people I still very much enjoyed myself!
It’s a mix of inner building spaces, with some outdoors more air flow areas. The only rough terrain I experienced was visiting the Gum Wall.
Other than that fairly adequate walking. I’d suggest taking the elevator instead of walking up 6 flights of stairs.
A very cool experience!

Pike Place Market is on every list of 'Things to do in Seattle' so, of course, we did it. It struck me as a little random in as much as it sprawls all over the place with different stalls and shops to view whichever way you go. Having said that, you can lose track of what you've seen or not seen quite easily. I have to admit to being a little underwhelmed really as it's just a market, albeit a fairly large one... sorry.
I followed the 'Gum Wall this way' signs... why? A wall plastered in people's discarded gum, how disgusting. Am I missing something charming about this?
Glad to say I've been there but not sure I'd go again.

There’s a lot in the media trying to scare travelers away from places like Seattle. Please don’t be scared!! My two teen daughters and I had a fun day exploring and there was no reason to feel unsafe. Lots to take in at the market, and things are reasonably priced. Can’t wait to go back!

The whole experience of walking along the market. Vibe and the atmosphere around bustling around with food, restaurants, flowers, art etc. A must visit place.

Walked the many levels of Pike Place Market. Lots to see at each level. Stores, restaurants, pubs, craft sellers, push carts, beautiful cut flowers, and of course the fish markets. Hordes of people linger around the fish tables waiting to see them toss the fresh fish from the ice beds to the person in back to be wrapped for sale !

I haven’t been out here in about 10 years so we’re heading to Alaska decided to stop for a few days. The market is overrated used to be good. The area around it is filthy if you go for a walk before 8 AM in the area all you see is drug addicts, and homeless people. The city starts clearing them out before the market open so you don’t see them, but they are everywhere else around the market. I’m coming from New York City and I was shocked at the shape of that whole city. Couldn’t wait to get out of there.

Along with the Needle, it is another essential Attraction of the city. There is a beautiful view of the city (this time from the ground) and several restaurants and bars in the surrounding area, as well as souvenir shops and etc. The nearby streets have several cool activities, but it is a slightly degrading area, with several street residents. Bomber a little care.

It’s a must see!!!! Complete chaos and a lot of fun! Every vender you can imagine in one place. There are so many things for sale you will need time to see it all.

We saw this place on the travel channel many times and I just happen to think about it while we were downtown. This was a great time

This was our first visit to Seattle and we had to stop at Pike Place Market. It was such a cool experience with so much to see. We saw the typical fresh fish stands but there was so much more. Any kind of food was available with plenty of shopping. You can get lost walking around and there were many hole in the wall places. We will have to go back as there is so much more to see.

You can spend a day here. Lots of vendors, small souvenir shops, artists' products, vegetables, fruit, flowers, fish, food and drink. A real maze on 6 floors

Believe it: this is a place you want to go when visiting Seattle. Lots of good food from all parts of the world, a lot of shops (vinyl records, books, gifts, collectables, art, crafts...). It's also worth going around since there are great restaurants and coffee shops outside the market too.

A fantastic place. Everything you could want or see. Goes for blocks and levels. Best clam chowder anywhere.

Awesome selection of foods, desserts, drinks, and everything in between! Had been wanting to visit for a while and it was worth the wait.

Very big place. Lots of tourist items and places to eat. The original Starbucks is there, but the line at least an hour long to go in. We were able to sneak a peak inside from the window and take a couple pictures instead of waiting to go inside. Nice view of the harbor too.

Pike Place Market is touristy and crowded, but it's a must-visit spot in Seattle with a ton of cool vendors. It's huge, with several buildings and levels. If you're walking from the waterfront, do know it's up several flights of stairs.

From some movies I saw in the past, I have a perception that there're tonnes of good restaurants, eateries or food stalls selling a wide variety of seafood like lobsters, mussels, crabs, clams etc. After my visit in Nov, I found it's totally not the case. The restaurants are mainly fast food type selling roll/bread with piece-meal lobster (mainly claw tips) and clam chowder. Portion small. Many of them provided no service at all, you pay at the cashier counter then get your tray of food to your free seat. Ridiculous is that it charged tips at 20% or so (well, I know theoretically I could pay no tips but what would happen to me if I didn't follow this culture in USA??)
There is a lack of decent restaurants, quite some are on the rather dark basement.
Perhaps this place (generally same as many other cities in USA) was good 20 years ago, but no fantasy anymore now to me. The stalls close starting from 4pm. No fun.

What a fun place to explore. The vendors of flowers, vegetables and fruit mixed in with artisans.
But when you get to the seafood market it is entertaining watching them throw the fish from each sell. Well worth it to spend time there. We did not know what to expect, but this was awesome. (May, 2023)

A must see if you are in Seattle! So much going on, fresh seafood, flowers, fruit, and the amount of stores and vendors was amazing .

A fun day was had exploring the market. We did our own food tour having different dishes throughout the day. We started off early and first stop was the wonderful French bakery, La Panier. We had coffee, mushroom and spinach tartlets, and a chocolate croissant. Everything was delicious. Next stop was picking up mini donuts to share. We got the assortment. The cinnamon sugar donuts were still warm and melted in our mouth. We did lots of walking around looking at vendor booth items. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck on the waterfront. We were ready to switch over to lunch. We tried the ahi tuna at the Market. Next up was clam chowder from Pike Place Chowder. It was delicious and served with a piece of sourdough bread. We witnessed the infamous fish throw at Pike Place Fish Company. We stocked up on some fish jerky. We sampled fresh smoked salmon that is delicious. We had a mushroom and potato piroshki. We were too full to eat anymore, but we picked up gourmet sandwiches from the deli for dinner. We got a mozzarella sandwich and a portabella mushroom sandwich to go.

It may be a tourist trap, but there’s a reason why. The Pikes Place Market is a must-see while you’re in Seattle. It offers delicious food, unique goods, and an eclectic ambiance that’s a treat for your senses. From workers throwing fish to bountiful (and cheap!) flower vendors, it has something for everyone. Definitely worth checking out!

We loved this market place. There was tons of vendors for different things from flowers to fish. There were tons of artisans there. Everyone was so kind, it was nice to take a stroll looking through things and just eating food. My kind of afternoon fun

I feel it’s a little overrated market is small and not that much going on couple of fish vendors and small souvenir shops.

Interesting to see, costs nothing to get in and booth/window shopping is free. There are a huge variety of vendors if you do want to buy something and I would recommend checking out the website before going to get a sense of what is available. This is a great place to pick up that jam, candy, or honey for the neighbor watering your plants, and that t-shirt for the grandkids. Definitely get there well before 5pm as many vendors were packing up by about 4:30 and practically everything, except some restaurants, were closed or gone by 5. This is a recommend but plan this as a morning activity

If you enjoy fresh, art, and novelty shops, you will like it. Don't miss the "show" when they throw the fish at the fish market by the giant pig bank. That's the most famous thing about the market other than the first Starbucks location. But the flowers are amazing and so inexpensive. Lots of artwork, fresh produce, hot and cold food. The Pike St level is only one of six, so give yourself a few hours to eat, look, and shop.

Park your car in a nearby parking lot and visit.
There is the first Starbucks store and various shops, and it is very enjoyable.
I sampled smoked salmon at a fishmonger and bought it right away because it was so delicious.
We then had lunch at the on-site seafood restaurant.

I almost don’t know how to rate this. As far as what kinds of food and stuff they have offer it’s amazing. I couldn’t believe there were seven levels. On the other hand, we visited Seattle on a weekend and it is not the time to go to the market. Crowded, hard to walk down the Main Street. They allow cars to also drive with the people which made it harder. There weren’t many good maps so we had trouble trying to find a vendor and couldn’t. A bit overwhelming and then you add some steep climbs trying to get up to it from the water. Go on a week day! That said all the food we got there was delicious.

We were told to go around 11 AM and plan on spending a couple of hours, then sit down and grab some lunch. So that’s what we did and it seemed like good advice. It’s large, several blocks long and several floors high. Of course, there is the fresh fish being tossed. So much fresh seafood on ice, it’s hard to imagine. There is also a huge selection of fresh fruit, vegetables and especially flowers at really good prices. Plus arts and crafts, shops of all varieties, restaurants, novelty stores, to name a few. And in my opinion, the gum wall is as disgusting as it sounds.

Pretty much a must do if you are a visitor to Seattle, its a great way to while away a few hours. If its busy, which I'm assuming is most of the time, be prepared to wait in long lines for food.

You have to visit the first Starbucks. Then go see the fish show…they throw around the fish in the market. Theres also a lot of stores to shop and some good eats!

Big mistake on our part trying to visit on a Sunday. Turned down a street to get to the market only to realize people were Only parking available was in a highrise garage about three blocks uphill from the market that charged $9 per hour.
Walked to the Market, planning on walking around and having lunch at the market only to discover thousands of people essentially blocking access to all areas and the general market area filthy (especially the restrooms). Restaurants totally unappealing so we decided to quickly return to our car and dine elsewhere.

A fun place to visit. The fruit selection is terrific. It's not very big and doesn't take long to explore. I would also recommend looking around at the shops along the other side of the streets.

Fun market but I’ve never been to Seattle before and thought it would be like a big outdoor market. No. It’s a multilevel market more like a shopping mall with some parts outside. Very fun and beautiful though. Fish markets throw fish when it’s ordered and that’s very cool! Tons of flowers for the flower festival going on while we’re here - so pretty! Lots of people watching. Excellent food. Fun experience. Definitely recommend it.
NOTE: I went to the public restroom and there was a guy in there with no shirt on yelling at people. Seemed somewhat threatening but he didn’t interact with me, and he was gone by the time I came out. That guy was definitely on something. Ignore people like that and more times than not they’ll leave you alone (experience from other places).

Disappointed by the lack of security at Pike Place Market. It’s overcrowded with no visible police presence, making it a hotspot for pickpockets. My Meta sunglasses were stolen right out of my hoodie pocket, and I later learned this happens often. Tourists—be extremely cautious and keep your belongings close. This place needs better security.

This place is huge. I doubt we hit about 50% of the stores here, but it was fun jostling about with the crowds, grabbing lunch and talking with some charming shop keepers. We found some amazing beef jerky and some lovely prints for a bargain, so it is definitely worth checking out if you are in Seattle.

We enjoyed exploring the Market. It was a Saturday, so there were HUGE crowds and it was hard to get around. We loved exploring the nooks and crannies well worth a visit.

This is an iconic place in Seattle. I was surprised to find it is actually 3 stories "deep". I walked the street level & then heard that there were 2 additional levels with shops & restaurants below. It is a great place to shop for all kinds of things - not just souvenirs. I have never seen more beautiful flower bouquets & at very reasonable prices. I purchased Rainer chocolate covered cherries there and they were fabulous! It's very crowded so I would suggest going early.

Pike Place Market is always a must-stop whenever I’m in Seattle. No matter how many times I’ve been, it never loses its charm. I love starting my visit with a fresh pastry to set the tone, and I never miss grabbing a warm, flaky spanakopita from the Greek stand it’s like a little bite of sunshine even on Seattle’s rainiest days.
The Crumpet Shop is a personal favorite too, always delivering those comforting, chewy crumpets that pair perfectly with a stroll through the market. And of course, I can’t leave without a vibrant bouquet of fresh flowers to brighten my home they’re always stunning and surprisingly affordable!
The market is lively and full of energy, from the hum of local vendors to the playful calls of fishmongers. It’s a feast for the senses: the smell of fresh baked goods, the colorful stalls, and the sounds of buskers filling the air.
It can get a bit crowded, especially on weekends, but honestly, that’s part of its heartbeat. Each visit feels like tapping into the city’s rhythm, and I already can’t wait to go back.

This is a real treat and a rarity in this country - a real open air market. Find the fish stand where they throw fish and otherwise perform, stay for the beautiful arrays of produce and flowers and so much more. There is an outdoor deck area with some street views and great views of Puget Sound. And it's all free - well, until you start buying stuff.

This place has everything. The produce looked delicious. There are so many different food shops throughout the area. A highlight was watching the fish toss. Weekends are quite crazy. Next time we will check it out during the week. I walked down there around 6 pm and everything was pretty much closed up. Fortunately there are bars and restaurants in the area for those later times.

We went on Saturday- do not recommend to visit on this day. Very busy. Cannot enjoy it. Packed with people. It has many floors was neat exploring the different shops. First Starbucks here- long line. Fun watching them throw the fish. We ordered food then went to back near the water to eat

We stayed right next to Pike’s market. It’s iconic so definitely worth a look. It was pretty crowded even on weekdays. The prices were high which was to be expected for seafood. The food vendors were reasonably priced.

This is the tourist epicenter of Seattle. This place is filled with tourist tat. There isn't much of a fish market anymore. The "fish throwing" takes place at set times. The flower stalls are worth a look. You will find the original Starbucks across the street (long queue!) Everything shuts down at around 6 pm. This area is dead in the evening. Away from this Market area, most of the shops are shut down and vacant. There are a lot of drug addicts sleeping rough on the surrounding streets. Be careful at night.

It is a good place
Nice place where we can buy local food and also where we can buy souvenirs. The tour is very worthwhile.

Quite a typical tourist attraction. Flowers sold at very affordable prices. Went there in the late afternoon when most places seemed to be closed. The gum wall was amusing though.

so so...crowded and noisy; dirty in many places; we are used to a public market at home in Rochester NY; so honestly this didn't impress me that much....but we did eat a lunch at Pike Brewing Co; there, and it was worthwhile.

Twenty years ago when I first visited the market it was a lovely place to spend a few hours strolling, eating, and enjoying the atmosphere. Fast forward to now and I would never recommend anyone go here.
We were met with the stench of urine as soon as we got onto the city streets from the train. This was my first sign that maybe we didn't need to be at the market.
The streets were filled with religious protesters. One group was decked out in military garb complete with weapons and ammo. They had large speakers and were screaming about the devil and aiming their anger at another religious group of protesters.
The city is sadly filled with many homeless people. We witnessed an altercation between a homeless mad and a woman. The police were trying to get there to intervene.
The market itself was crowded and dirty. The bathrooms are gross and the stall doors are oddly short allowing even my 10 year old to see into each one.
I would never return here.

So many things too see and taste. Lots of fresh fish choices. Desserts and world foods. It is at the bottom of a STEEP hill so be mindful.

Interesting place.
It's crowded and cramped and probably of marginal cleanliness with lots of different and sometimes funky shops and places to eat. In short, not my kind of place at all.
If you ask for advice of where to visit, a concierge will tell you this is a must-see. For me, when looking for a place to visit, dining and shopping are not near the top of the list of places I seek (give me nature or a library or disc golf any day). But this seems to be where everyone goes.
That said, the two younger members of our family (college aged) loved the place and found it to be a highlight of our week out west. So I guess it does have its clientele. Just not my taste.

I love this place! I love the atmosphere and all of the shops and restaurants in the area. This is a must see when visiting Seattle.

If you don't like crowds this should be avoided. And we don't, it was exhausting. On the plus side, lots of interesting vendors. Picked up some items and had some wonderful salmon mac and cheese at Beechers.

I stopped by the market earlt in the morning (approx 9am) and it was quiet, but I couldn't stay long due to a scheduled event I needed to be at. After that event, I went back to the market about noon and it was so, so crowded. People were packed in making it less enjoyable. There are some great shops and food areas, and lots to look at (finding the lamp lighters in the back area was fun), but I highly recommend arriving early. Lunch was a Greek place outside of the market where we sat on a picnic table and listened to a busker.

It is a market of weights two and crafts , you can get from the airport by train and get off at Wanderlust station turn right walk 8 min and arrive . Nice for photos and get down you find in aquarium.

I went on a tour of Pike Place Market with Savor Seattle Tours. Our tour guide Tod was great. He gave me (and my grandson who I was traveling with) the background and history that was needed to understand and appreciate this very special treasure. I am so happy to have taken the tour and would recommend it to anyone who cares about food, history and Seattle.

Pike place market is the centrepiece of Seattle’s tourist area. Lots to do and see and a vibrant atmosphere prevails throughout. Recommended.

We visited on a Sunday afternoon. If you like confusion, crowds and chaos, this is your stop. I don’t know how many buildings or levels this place has, but one needs a map. Don’t plan to use the restroom, lines are long. We wanted to snack our way around but that’s not possible. We found parking in a garage very close. I regret not doing some research to see if there’s a vender map. I planned to avoid the gum wall but this place spit me out at it.

Disappointing for me. Not sure if we were too early – 9ish – but there were not many stalls open apart from the fish. The recommended eateries and the original Starbucks are outside the market place and over the road. All a bit tatty.

Pike Place Market was super cool. You could easily spend half a day or more just wandering around. There are vendors, shops, food, and much more. We got to see the famous fish throwing as well! Definitely worth a visit.

Pike Place Market is good for a visit if you you've not been there. Lots of shops with artisans, food, antiques, etc. that can be had. Food was overly expensive (it's a tourist trap for the most part). It's has multiple floors and rest rooms. If you looking for a place to eat, there are lots of restaurants outside of the market with better prices - checkout the ally's as they are a bit more quite and reasonable on prices with good quality.

We tried to visit three times during our visit and each time it was just wall to wall people. I had no idea Seattle had become such a bustling cruise port and unfortunately the market really shows the effects. I don’t want to stop and look much as it was so overwhelming

It's just a market. He's nice, but far from being unique. If you have time, it is worth walking through (with a lot of other) people and possibly eating something. But that's just what many cities have ...

Perhaps the most amazing collection of merchants anywhere! The place is massive and amazing. The collection of restaurants, shops, artists, crafts ...... The list goes on.
You need a minimum full day to see and experience the market.
It is a great and a Safe place for the whole family.
The most memorable experience in Seattle without doubt.

My friend and I flew into Seattle to get on an Alaskan cruise. We had time to visit Pike Market. Definitely worth the visit so you can say you have been. Watch the fishermen throwing the fish from person to person. Get a dozen or two of the freshly cooked donuts, small but just the very best. Try some of the Chinese food. Very good. Nice to walk around. Lots of fresh fruits and beautiful flowers.

If in Settle you probably should visit Pikes Market, if you like crowds and tacky shops and average and below average restaurants. It is a touriostbtrap and does provide great views of Elliott Bay and Puget Sound if you escape the crowded maze of shops and alleyways that cover varioous levels. Opened in 1907 it is one of the oldest continuous farmers markets in the US. The flower shops were very good, the fish shop with flying fish interesting but after that avoid the crowds.

I forgot how mediocre Pike Place Market is, and found myself back there on a trip to Seattle. It's massively crowded -- and we were there on a Monday. It's really hard to find places if you have a specific place in mind. You have to wait in line for many of the places to eat. The prices are high, which would be fine if the food was good, but honestly, most of it isn't that great. Is the fish throwing entertaining? Yes. Is it worth going there for? No, especially if you have children and you have to wait in line for food and navigate throngs of people. Next trip to Seattle we won't bother going.

So many stalls! You can find just about anything here it seems. Great place to support local vendors and find unique souvenirs. Can get very busy but a great place to just wander around and kill some time. Don't miss all the lower levels!

Holy Batman!! Soooooo many people!! We walked around for about 30 minutes and the amount of people was just too much. Parking was $30 for an hour. Walked to pier and spent rest of our time there.

Always lively. The market is very eclectic with vendors from fish , fish and more fish to flowers, nuts, jams, and jewelry.
Oddities like the gum wall, downstairs trinkets and corner nooks of collectibles there is something for everyone. The smell is a mix of fish and people and not so pleasant other stuff. It's not the cleanest place so be prepared
But do try the food. The buns are the best and Beechers Mac and Cheese is amazing. Crepes, shrimp cocktails and my favorite t shirt vendor is just as you go out back of market to see Lake Washington.

A bit crowded in certain corners, but a fantastic selection and variety of shops. There's something here for everyone. Whether it's unique foods or books and kitchen supplies, it's definitley a must-see for tourists travelling through Seattle. I'd personally reccommend to get there earlier in the day.

Only had one day in Seattle so of course had to visit Pike Place Market.
Exactly as expected- busy, bright, diverse and fun.

I discovered some of the good shops were on seperate blocks near the Market.
It was my bucketlist item before I am bent over and can't travel
I am glad I went.
I couldn't afford to stay in the nice hotels by the Market.
Stayed by the airport, but saved a lot.

Big Point of Sale with a lot of crafts. There are also many fish dealers. The funniest was Pikes fishing Point of Sale, where they threw with large fish for great fun for the tourists.

Exciting place to be. Beautiful flowers for sale. Don’t miss this popular place. Mornings best but went afternoon and still enjoyed

Visited during Fourth of July and it was a nice way to spend the holiday! Recommend going early because it gets packed quickly. We ate at Lowell’s, had coffee and ghost street coffee, and visited the ginger beer place for some wonderful mules. Highly recommend!

We visited this place with friends to introduce them to the famous market. Great place for views, clicks and a stroll.

We loved going to Pike Street Market Place and that is an understatement. So many shops to peruse and buy items. From trinkets, to clothing, to places to eat, to an array of fish places to buy, you can't go wrong. You especially need to see the area where they sing and throw fish to each other. There is a boardwalk to walk, areas for the kids to place, and plenty of green space to soak in some sun.

Whilst in downtown Seattle, we were recommended to visit this market. It is a really busy market with people buying fresh fish, meat, and flowers. There was something for everyone, and the atmosphere was buzzing. It's well worth a visit.

this is one of the main places you need to come to in seattle, there are a lot of vendors and restaurants, and all of them seemed super tasty, the mall is super huge with probably hundreds of shops, restaurants, vendors, and stores, what I didnt really like was how crowded it was, and the corridor for vendors near the street was tiny and extremely slippery and wet, also, DO NOT GO INTO THE BATHROOMS, it was a complete nightmare, first of all, the stalls are so short, you can peek into the stalls from above, on top of that, in a stall i saw blood and other disgusting stuff dried into the toilet seat, and then the water for washing hands was so hot i could barely touch the water, i feel like all of this is completely preventable, which was very disappointing, overall decent

The place is popular and so is packed with visitors and shoppers. It is a farmers’ market with fresh fruits, vegetables, baked goods, meats, seafood as well as tourist souvenirs, gifts, postcards and places to eat. Pike Place Fish is a popular vendor as their orange apron staff are known for their “fish toss”. But usually, they will only flip a fish if you buy it.
Pike Place Market is just a few blocks away from hotels like Hilton and Sheraton where many cruise passengers stay overnight before embarkation. This Market is worth a visit before you sail away.

I’ve been to several city markets across the country but none of them compare to Seattle’s. There is something truly for everyone at Pike Place Market. We enjoyed looking at all the vendors and plenty of delicious food options as well.

Pike Place Public Market is an experience to be had. Built as a multi-storeyed shopping arcade organized almost as streets including an excellent flowers-selling section and a fruits and vegetables sector. Two brass statues of the pig can be seen, but the visitor is left unclear why this is a mascot. Park early and long for $13. There’s lots of public seating on the terrace and a great view of Puget Sound. Elsewhere, a buffoonish display of fish-tossing prompts questions of why, and of who among tourists would buy a large salmon to take home to their temporary accommodations. Prices in the stalls are sky high. A bagel sandwich with egg and smoked salmon at a stall costs as much as an entree at a sit down place back home

We had a great time at the market. Walked through and saw all of the items vendors/ artisans have for sale. Had a great fish and chips dinner!

A fabulous place to wander, chat, and soak up the atmosphere. I would have liked to stay longer - but my husband found it a little overwhelming. Great place to watch the world!

Amazing market with a few hundred shops and vendors. Definitely worth a visit. Only downside is most of it closes at 5pm so be sure to visit during the day! There are 4/5 floors of vendors with elevators and ramps to help you get around too. I would not try to park near by, your best bet is to use public transportation, ridershare or walk to get there. Dont forget to check out the seating and views in the back!

Seattle is a great city with a good mix of dining options, we had dinner at the Metropolitan Steakhouse, where we had a wonderful meal.
Our breakfast at the George restaurant at the Fairmont hotel and it didn’t disappoint.
Seattle is blessed with a great waterfront where one can enjoy what Seattle is famous for, (I am talking coffee) whilst watching the cruise ships come and go.
No visit to Seattle would be complete without a visit to Pike Place Market
it’s great to experience the hustle and bustle of a working market and the dozens of small stall holders selling everything from fresh fruit to herbal remedies.
The only downside to the City is that it is constructed on a hillside so as you venture away from the waterfront you climb quite quickly, but that’s a small price to pay for such a wonderful experience.

Visited Pike Place like everyone else for the entertainment value watching them toss fish and wanted my 87 year old father-in-law to witness the surrounds. The individual with the beard then yells out to everyone while he's boxing up $600.00 of over priced fish, "THIS IS A FISH MARKET, NOT AN AQUARIUM." All of the tourists took the hint and walked away disappointed and disgusted not getting to see what once used to be. Seattle in general has gone to hell over recent years with homeless, drug abusing, urine smelling, graffiti filled streets. This will be my last visit to the area.

We went here for a few hours. It was interesting! The fish market was neat to watch the guy throw fish. The flower selection!

This was a short walk from our hotel down to the market.
As markets go its fairly standard. It has the normal fare, flowers, fruit and veg, meat and fish, bric a brac, clothing, souvenirs and food stuffs and more. It also has some stand alone shops in and around the market.
It was overcast and little rainy when we were there but it was still pretty packed and had a bustling feel. It was covered and out of the rain which was nice.
It was a nice market and a good idea to wile away an hour or two walking through the market.

I would not say this was the best market I have been to but it was one of the most interesting. We bought some unique goodies. Something that was surprising was the price of banquets of flowers. $10-$20 dollars for some of the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen. We are flying so we couldn’t buy any but we would have if we could get them home. I was told they throw fish but we never saw that happened but overall, it’s a fun day to spend at the market and on the waterfront.

Pike Place Market more than fish. Checkout the flower stands, the view of Elliott Bay and the mountains on a clear day, plus the gum wall. Breakfast at La Panier was marvelous. If you have plenty of time, stad in line and order at the first Starbucks.

Pike Place Market is a wonderful place to wander around and enjoy your day. There is everything there you would wish for regarding food. Restaurants and all types of eating places abound. There are all kinds of shops, from flower stalls to Fish markets, cake shops, cheese-making stores and plenty more. There is some seating available but not enough. We spent hours there. We bought some lunch and some dessert. Some of the food is exceptional but sadly some of it is absolute rubbish! We experienced it! And the prices are not cheap! There is plenty of fun and the views over the water are fantastic.

Saw the fish guys throw the fish and walked around a few shops. There’s a ton of shops and stalls to visit on multiple levels. Saw a CEO/celebrity at a rooftop bar! Great view of the bay.

Such a fun place in the big market. They put on a show here, throwing fish. Lol. The selection of fish is massive. It seems like they have every kind of fish and very large ones too. The prices are really good too, compared to a store.

Seriously, you cannot visit Seattle and not visit Pike Place Market!
Next time i return, I'm staying in a hotel in this area.
I went years ago for a friend's wedding and seeing it a second time around, I was no less enarmoured!
This time, I went with a celebrity chef as my guide and she opened my eyes to the whole history, charm and deliciousness of the place!
We ate things I wouldn't have had I gone on my own.
We went through courtyards and alleys including the Soames Dunn Courtyard known as the hidden courtyard and so many little nooks and crannies. Just walk and take the most unexpected turn and give yourself the freedom to get lost and not look at a map. You'll be surprised where it takes you. And then go down the Rabbit Box and see the original purple embedded pavement glass above you which floods in all this natural light!
I don't know why people waste their time going to the Original Starbucks which actually isn't the original one.
If you come to experience Seattle, experience it through the locals who eat, breathe, work and play here.
Try new things like Ancho pepper salmon jerky candy from Totem Smokehouse or the harbanero pickled peppers from Bonnie B's or amazingly fresh spicy tuna from Wild Poke or the delectable homemade confections from Bite Society which is an amazing social cause! There is absolutely so much to experience here you can spend days in the markets.
There were people everywhere handing out free flowers. This city if flower-crazy and I absolutely loved it!
p.s. If you like my review and you're into Insta do check out my poetry at @tropicgirlkay
Blessings!

Terrible area. The flowers at the market are beautiful but the market itself is not impressive. We parked in the Stewart St Garage. Groups of people on the street were smoking crack - shocking to see.

One of the notable things about many markets visited across the world is the dirty busyness and squishy crowds, not so with pikes.. the place was noticeably fresh and clean, and easy to get around.. saw the famous fish throwers….but why one may ask? Don’t know really. If you’re in Seattle give the tower thingy a miss and check this place out..

Not for people who handle crowds poorly. Tons and tons of food to eat and stores to see. Lots of unique items from local artists.

Always a good experience visiting the market. A variety of items for sale. Great food options! Beautiful flowers for sale. Tasty BBQ.

So cool to see! I will say i saw someome outside that was yelling at people homeless but overall nice place!

As with most markets, mornings are better. Don't miss the Fish tossing!
Even though the market itself closes in the afternoon, there are many restaurants that remain open. Most require reservations.
Don't limit yourself to just the main market, the outlying stores are great too. Piroshky Piroshky across the street is a must see!!!!

This marketplace had many stores, restaurants, and other sites. The crowds were gigantic. Some vehicles did pass through this attraction, but people were walking throughout these streets and these sidewalks. I went to the Gum Wall and to the initial Starbucks. It was free to enter this location.

We went through this market at least three times. Bought Ghost alley coffee beans for home and relatives, had lunch here twice as well as some ice cream. The first, so called first, Star bucks is here with very long lines for the gullible.
We were told it’s actually the 35th restaurant as the original had burned down.
The best coffee we had was at the ghost alley coffee.
There is a deli here where we had lunch
Every place was reasonably priced compared with Virginia and food was fresh everywhere.

This is an iconic Seattle landmark in the northern part of downtown just off the water and up the hill. For over 115 years a market has operated in this part of Seattle, and it is one of if not the oldest continuous markets in our country. While the market has evolved and more permanent structures have become part of it, it continues to have stalls that are used for farm produce harvested from the land and all types of food harvested from the sea. In addition, there are flowers, arts and crafts and books and trinkets.
It is fun to walk through. Some of the highlights are the Seafood Market in the front where fish are thrown, public art both statues and live performing, the infamous Gum Wall, and food you can eat straight from the counter. Over time buildings around market were built for retail like the corner market. These also have several great restaurants like Radiator Whiskey where we ate dinner.
This is simply a place you have to visit when you go to Seattle. How much time you spend is up to you. We did visit at several different times as it is also great for pictures and the way it changes during the day.

This is easily one of my most favorite places. The last trip I made was back in September of 2024
I have been to this market more times than I can count with my husband, friends and on my own
I love to sit and people watch at the Pier while drinking my smoothie.
The market has such a cool touristy vibe and you can wander off without a care
Summer time is the best time for me to visit and can’t wait to be back

Pikes Market is still buzzing after all these years, although clearly touristy. Still fun to watch fishmongers throwing sizable fish 20 or so feet to colleagues. Market has fresh fish, meat, and vegetables as well as many textile and other items. Another plus is it is opposite Beecher's Creamery, one of the finest cheese emporiums, as well as the original Starbucks.

Historic Pike Place Market is a Seattle icon and must- see, especially if you're visiting for the first time. We always make a stop here for our favorites - the market spans 9 acres and has an overwhelming amount of shops, restaurants, artisans, and unique things to see, eat, and do!
There are tons of fishmongers on site - but make sure to visit the Pike Place Fish Co if none others bc they're the ones that yell and throw giant fish all over the place and are fun to watch! Also here's another PRO TIP: don't miss the Psychic Chicken in the basement - bring quarters and let the chicken tell you your fortune LOL!!
They have so many unique vendors - I especially love their tea shops and the dried fruit shops. Everything we've purchased over the years has been delicious. And be sure to explore the shops in the basement - I imagine they get overlooked but we always find some really cool trinkets and souvenirs there.
They have outdoor spaces too with tables and incredible PNW views of the Puget Sound and distant mountains. Theres also a Ferris wheel nearby. And the surrounding neighborhood is great to explore - lots of sites to see and places to eat. You'll find the original, first ever Starbucks right outside the main market, and the infamous bubble gum wall as well (gross or nah?!)!
Being in a historic neighborhood, parking is definitely an issue - there is some street parking but I've never had the luck of finding a spot. They do have a dedicated parking garage in the back that has always worked out well for us - a short walk to the market and it has an elevator- worth the money for peace of mind.

Beautiful whatever you write when I pass by there is no way I won't turn around to read I like it too much and congratulations again

Cool place for younger people but very crowded on weekends and nice days! A lot of walking and stair and ramps. Just many small stands and stores mainly

Wow- this place was awesome. Coming from the Boston area it was Faneuil Hall market on steroids. So many places in one location - stores, shops and restaurants. Don’t forget the fish markets. We spent over 7 hours here - loved every minute. The prices were pretty reasonable for the things we purchased - ice cream, pastries, beer and souvenirs. It is a must see while in Seattle.
However - I don’t quite get the chewing gum alley

Cool place to see. Get there early as afternoon cruise ships unload and a lot of people.
Walk and see all levels

What a place to take in! Whether a tourist or local there are many one of kind artists. Of course shopping for food too! Views are great! Joyful place to explore!

Something new every time. My son
Was fascinated with the fish toss...
It only cost him $250 to take one home,
But it was some of the best fish we've
Had.

Pike Place Market is such a great place to spend the day. I haven’t been here in ages. So many more purveyors of seafood, meat, flowers, honey, jewelry and every other thing under the sun! Beautiful flower stalls with every different flower variety.
Nice snack shops, food stalls and restaurants too!

Need to go here this visit. Find best lox and items that can be shipped. Find best place to eat in market. Find local restaurants.

We walked from the monorail to Pike Place Market down Pike St. as we had several years ago. This time we were treated to people openly smoking crack cocaine and marijuana, dealers openly selling drugs to the down and out, homeless, mentally ill people, litter everywhere, and rats. This was observed all over the downtown area. The market itself is pretty much the same but Seattle is in desperate need of law enforcement and a never ending cleanup. Not a place to take kids. We won't ever be back.

Forever vibrant Pike’s place is a must visit market when in Seattle. Tons of vendors with fresh flowers, fish and produce. Don’t hesitate to try samples and make your purchase. Lots of local artists that you can support. Go before 4:30 as most vendors start closing around that time.

What a place lived it I am always fascinated by the fact that even with large malls around such place are still a great attraction for the people.
Huge I must say and has all type of stuff available.
Yes crowded for sure but Must visit if you are in seatle

My first Flowers Festival at Pike Place Public Market 😍 At last! This was on my bucket list - Things To Do in Seattle. This is their 16th year and usually coincides this festival near of Mother’s Day. I was enjoying to see beautiful colorful vibrant of different species of flowers. It was very busy, buzzing with people, crowded but it was part of fun, I think. I see many stalls are open. It’s a perfect day, sunny and cool weather. Many people eating in the outdoor, busking under the sun. There's a beer house, restaurants, coffee shops, food & beverage vendors, etc. I can understand why Pike Place Market is very popular destination for both local & visitors of Seattle!

Fun for a quick stop. It was a slow morning when we went. No fish throwing, but also not many big groups going through. Enjoyed a couple of tasty samples and picked up items for a deli lunch.

Way too many people impossible to walk inside. Very busy for younger kids but still worth a short visit to see the market and the beautiful area surrounding it.

Nice big public market. Parking is pricey as are most things you can buy there. They do have nice deals on flower bouquets though. Mostly trinket shops, food and fish markets. Certainly attracts many people.

It was amazing. The gum wall was a picturesque spot. It was super fun walking around and shopping at the different vendor spots.

A really big and busy market with a varied selection of stalls and plenty of eating and drinking options. The fresh produce looked great and plenty of quirky offerings.

Fun place to visit! Lots of shops and tasty food to try. Interesting local crafts and foods. A fun place to go to for all ages.

I visit Moritis Shin Dentistry of Seattle regularly, and I always make time to stop by Pike Place Market, just a few blocks away. The mix of fresh produce, crafts, flowers, and street musicians gives it such a vibrant energy. I especially love browsing the handmade goods and enjoying the view of Elliott Bay. Whether you’re a local or visiting, it’s one of those places that never loses its charm — no matter how many times you go.

We guess Pike Place is an iconic place in Seattle. Very touristy.
Our thoughts are to just wander around & discover & see if there is really something there for you. Once inside it’s like a rabbit warren. Old run down, smelly & grubby. Honestly the place needs to be cleaned up & modernised somewhat.
The gum wall is an interesting form of street art with a slight difference, you can actually smell it!
The highlight of the place is the beautiful & colourful flower market.
Some nice little snack venues to be stumbled upon.
Go see what you can find…

Lots of cute shops and food stalls! Love how friendly the vendors are and many give out free samples which is always wonderful! Lots of walking around!

We absolutely love wandering around Pike Place Market…We try to go early in the morning…before it gets crowded. So many fun things to explore, taste and experience. We love the flower markets, watching the famous fish throwing at the fish market, tasting pastries, smelling the robust coffee, and of course, buying Chukar cherries 🍒 to take home…And you MUST try the clam chowder and fish and chips at Jack’s Chowder Fish Spot!

Loved the flowers, foods and spices! All my senses were well indulged! 😅 Bought beautiful flowers for a baby shower we had and took back home some wonderful spices, also had some delicious samosas

Pike Place Market is an interesting place. It is a blocks long market along the waterfront of Seattle They sell everything from antiques and fresh flowers to whole fish and crabs and tourist souvenirs. It’s a good place to stroll after breakfast. If you are so inclined to buy some Dungeness crabs for your lunch, The fish monger will clean and crack them for you. Find a park bench and enjoy! Go early as it gets overwhelmingly crowded the later you go. The city of Seattle is made up of lots of hills and steep streets. If you have any issues with walking as I do( bad hip) you should take a taxi. It will leave you up one block before the market. Roads there are closed to traffic for the safety of the many pedestrians. Just be aware that you will have to walk a distance away from the market if you want a taxi to go back. There are lots is shops and restaurants across from the market buildings. A good place to have lunch or breakfast.

Bustling market in historic Pike place, we did a tour and learned a lot about the history of the market and the area.
There's a real mix of stalls featuring fresh produce, fish meat and a beautiful flower stall plus lots of fast food stalls, cake shops, local artists.....the list goes on. It is on the pricey side but that's to be expected in such a touristy area.
It was still quite crowded and you do need to keep your wits about you as lots of panhandling going on, but in general we felt safe and there were lots of families enjoying the spectacle too.
Just be aware that in this area you will see lots of homeless people and obvious drug taking in the street, so sad to see.
But on the whole we enjoyed our visit

Great location on Seattle waterfront. Fun shopping and don't miss the italian deli for travel food during flight home.
We ate at lowells which is great vire and good food. Chowder was a bit watery compared to thanks which has rich buttery chowder (had that day 2). No need to wait in ridiculous lines at Pikes Chowder house (over rated).
Even on a cold day in Dec this place is great fun.

We were visiting Seattle for one day before we left Saturday for our cruise. We were staying down by the waterfront so we had to go upstairs to get up to Pike market. It did not disappoint. So many vendors, food gifts, and tons of beautiful inexpensive, cut floral arrangements. They had fresh fish, market, seafood, crab, etc. Plenty of outside seating if you wanted to grab a bite to eat. The original Starbucks is there, but the line was too long so we did not go in. We just took a photo. The Mount Rainier Bing cherries were to die for relatively inexpensive for a very tall plastic cup. Super sweet. If you’re in Seattle, this is definitely a must stop. There is signage in pike market to the Gum wall. Absolutely disgusting but when in Rome! lol it’s a must see.

If in Seattle then you have to go! Lots to see & loads to eat if your hungry as lots of stalls offering sweet/savoury & everything in between, if you can take it visit the gum wall to its vast & kinda 🤢 but something to behold & also see the guys throwing the salmon if they get a sale & tip.
Nice place to mosey around & soak up the Seattle vibe

If you’re OK with 20+ dollars an hour for parking, shoulder to shoulder people and overpriced seafood then this is the place for you. we found better seafood 20 minutes away at a local establishment. That was excellent.

This market can be very crowded but there is a lot to see. We enjoyed walking around and taking pictures. We saw the first Starbucks and watched some fish be tossed. We didn't get a lot of time here so maybe someday we will make it back!

There are only so many things you absolutely must see when in Seattle and this is obviously one of them. The market, the flying fish, the food, the people…you gotta go.

This place I got to tell you was so very busy. There were a lot of good prices and stuff. My favorite part was seeing the first ever Starbucks there and the place was really kind of neat by all means with all the helpful stuff that they made it really good, which was honestly the bestest part of all. Another thing which made that really kind of welcoming is that they use a lot of different areas. I really did help them out

A very busy place full of tourists with lots to see. Grab a beer while enjoying the view. Visit the first Starbucks store ( although there was always a que). There is a chewing gum wall and lots and lots of market stores and places to grab tasty food. It is the Seattle thing to do.

Would have been a good trip except for the homeless drug users. Got mugged a few blocks away. Was in town for a ballgame and concert.

A lot of food stores. Interesting cobble stone street. I would have given it more stars, but it doesn't have a very good layout. A lot of people are walking in the street, so be extra careful when driving.

This is a tourist place but closes at 5 daily. When tourist are there til after that, no much to do. Not a place to go when without 3 days to explore.

Visited the Pike Place Market on a Saturday. It was crowded yes but was great fun. Wide collection of items available including some great fresh produce. Must visit once

A very large indoor and outdoor market, and world famous. The fishmonger in the center of the market at the entrance is the star attraction. They have hundreds of other stalls selling fruit, vegetables, meat, flowerd, cooked food and many other things

This is a huge area, and we definitely did not see everything. It's very interesting, and the stores vary from comic books to crystals to fresh fish. It's worth a visit.

Bustling market with numerous stalls, restaurants and general hustle and bustle. Fish throwing is a highlight. Great area for wandering around.

Based upon my star rating and title, you may be surprised to read that if you're in Seattle, definitely go to Pike Place Public Market. That's because you need to be able to tell people that you went. Don't get me wrong, it was fine and fun, but it's very crowded and mostly the standard craft fair/farmers market type of stuff. Additionally, there are a lot of very touristy stores in and around the market. I was taken aback by the lack of eateries, there were a few but not as many as I expected. There are worthwhile things to see such as the fresh fish market, and you want to see the guys throwing the fish.
Go to Pike Place, spend an hour or so, wander around, and you'll be good and you can tell people you went when they ask.
Great Market
Whenever we’re in Seattle, a visit to Pike Place Market is a must. We always stop to take a picture with Rachel the Pig (the market’s mascot), watch the flying fish at Pike Place Fish Market, admire the flowers and of course, eat a lot. In addition to food vendors, there are vendors selling artwork, jewelry, clothing and much more. There’s something for everyone. The market is very busy and crowded, but has a nice atmosphere. It’s a must-see when in Seattle.
