More then just another Charleston fountain the Pineapple Fountain is a great spot for 15-20 min to take some photos as you walk all around downtown!

We love the pineapple fountain and we stay right nearby at the Vendue, but there is a huge amount of new construction going on there right now and it is not as lovely as usual around there.

Beautiful iconic fountain, the quintessential symbol for hospitality and welcome for tourists from all over. This fountain is located in downtown Charleston's Waterfront Park. Beautiful panoramic view of the Cooper River. Fountain itself is lovely, and it is surrounded by lovely landscaping and grassy areas. GREAT 'photo op' - we saw a wedding party being photographed nearby. We visited in cooler weather, can only imagine how refreshing it would be on a hot day to enjoy the spray from the fountain as you overlook the river. Nice promenade for walking; areas for picnics. Something for everyone.

Beautiful area , it was clean and well maintained, the flowers were a bonus as it was only February 23rd.

Waterfront Park is delightful with the Pineapple Fountain as it's main feature. It's well-maintained and in a lovely setting.

Very pretty. At night, it is lit. Good place for picture taking. Can be busy with lots of people enjoying the fountain.

Wish it was easier to drive by. We had to find a parking spot and walk. We were there at night. It was lit up, somewhat. Not that impressive. Kids playing in the fountain. Not convenient to get back to during the day.

We enjoyed seeing the fountain and getting a picture. The other fountain my kids REALLY enjoyed playing in. We didn’t get in the Pineapple fountain, but there was a lot of people in and around it.

The fountain is gorgeous and is a sure site for some memorable photographs. It's relaxing to sit by the fountain and listen to the water.

The fountain is nice to see but you take a look at it, take a picture, and that's about it. However beware of young men in the area trying to sell roses made out of grass/reeds/straw. They have woven roses and we had to walk through a group of 3 of them to see the fountain and they were walking up to every female tourist a bit forcefully saying "This is for you, beautiful" trying to hand you the rose. If you take it, they want money. We said no thank you mate as it's an English term used often, and one of the young men replied "I ain't your mate" a bit rudely, so we stopped and looked at him, not sure if he was joking? We told him it's not an offense, "mate" is used very often as a term for "friend" or "buddy". He got more aggressive and started raising his voice telling us to go back to where we're from and we ain't wanted here. He continued by saying to "get out of here" and "get out of South Carolina" and I looked at him, still confused at what was happening, and said "Really?" He then got in my face like inches from my nose and said "get out of here! You ain't welcome here, go back to where you're from". He was so loud that everyone on the dock and fountain area had stopped and were staring. He was extremely angry and aggressive for no apparent reason. We were very uncomfortable and walked away, as he continued yelling at us to get out of South Carolina and that we weren't welcome. About 45 minutes later we happened to run into a police officer and explained what had happened as we were still upset about it. He knew these 3 young men and knew exactly where they were and seemed to know our story as we were telling it. Apparently they have had complaints before. He apologized and said he would go and speak to them and clear them out of the area. So be aware if you go near this fountain or seawall, as it partly ruined our experience in Charleston and left us really upset.

cute photo op place. We went around 10 am so it wasn't so hard to get a pic, but I can see how it could be. I think the best time would be late afternoon, the sun wasn't int he perfect spot for us yet.

Great spot to rest a bit and people watch! Love seeing the kids wading and parents hoping they don’t fall in. Super cool on a windy day.

So beautiful, & on that gorgeous waterfront walkway. Don't know how the artist ever dreamed it up, but our friends we were visiting with had seen it b4. Glad we got to see it too!

A must see if visiting Charleston. I wish I could of seen it lit up at night. One tip, please don't let your kids swim in the nasty untreated water.

So pretty! A definite must visit in Charleston! The adjoining pier is also quite lovely to walk out on with swings and benches to sit on.

A nice thing to do and see when in Charleston. Very unique fountain with amazing detail on the fountain. Location is right by the harbor and makes a great place to sit and relax and recharge from walking around Charleston. It’s worth seeing!

It was our first day in Charleston, South Carolina. The weather was gorgeous and the town was bustling with traffic. Luckily, we found a place to park on the corner of East Bay Street and Cordes Street just down from Magnolia's in the French Quarter. Walking down Cordes cobblestone street brought us right to the Pineapple Fountain at the Waterfront Park. The history of the cobblestone beneath our feet was so surreal and evoked Charleston's outright, controversial culture. The street was a beautiful cobblestone path, no doubt but it also paradoxes the not so pretty side of the south, the factual and forcible side of the south. Again, this was our first time "stepping foot" in Charleston, so, its notable to describe our journey to the Pineapple Fountain. The buildings were historical and phenomenal. They meet that momentous and architectural expectation! It was a short two blocks to the Pineapple Fountain and it did not disappoint. With the backdrop of Charleston's bay, this park has it all. Live Oaks everywhere! The splashing sounds from the water erupting atop the pineapple's crown and cascading down. An awesome view of the famous Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge. And quintessential palm trees lining the park while framing the very detailed fountain. The grounds were manicured well and it was quite peaceful. A great place for people watching and/or an ideal spot to relax and get away from the city life just steps away. A must see on your trip to Charleston.

Charleston has a lovely boardwalk and this seems to be a must stop for all tourists. Kids will enjoy wading in the fountain on warm days, and it is a great place to people watch. Plenty of benches in the shade nearby.

We visited on a beautiful, sunny day. There was even a wedding taking place in the background behind the fountain. This is a very relaxing and amazing place for photographs.

We were in Charleston in November and it was cool and windy. Only the bottom of the fountain was running, so it was fairly unimpressive. It might be beautiful on a warm sunny day, but I don't think I'd go out of my way to see it if I were on limited time.

We had a wonderful time. We walked around and visited several stores and the Marketplace. We had seafood and it was delicious

Lovely iconic pineapple fountain. Symbol for Charleston. Small streets have metered parking. We paid $1.50 for a spot just one block away. Very lucky. Definitely worth the stop. Very photogenic fountain. Combine with a stroll through the park and walk out to the pier.

I have always liked the Pineapple Fountain At Waterfront Park in Charleston. It is fun to just sit and watch the water come out of the pineapple continuously and there is something calming and relaxing about it. I have been coming here for years and remember being small enough to swim, climb, and play in the different levels of the fountain although it has been many years since I have done that it I still have the urge to jump in and splash around on a warm day. This is a great fountain and really brings the park together and is a special landmark that represents Charleston very well and it is fun to see it every time I am in the area. This fountain is great and I am happy it exists for everyone.

The one feature of genuine interest in this waterfront park. Best get to look at it early in the day before people are splashing around in it and preventing others from enjoying it for what it is and getting people free photos.

The pineapple fountain is somewhat of an iconic landmark in Charleston. It is located in a nice park by the water. It was fun to take pictures and walk around.

it's only a fountain, but what a nice place to rest your tired feet and feel the cool spray from the fountain.

Pineapple fountain was a nice walk over here from the cruise port, and there were shaded areas along the walk.

The waterfront area is a beautiful place you walk in the shade! This fountain is a place where you can dip in and enjoy. Animals are prohibited but there was a very large dog there when I visited (ugh!). I suspect that it is a very popular (free) spit for children during the summer months. I suggest having your little one in a bathing suit ready to take that dip!

Just a site to see while you’re near the water. Pretty. Nearby lots of beautiful homes. Easy to see and in an area that’s walkable.

Pineapples are a symbol of hospitality - we definitely loved the uniqueness of the fountain. WE arrived there in the early afternoon, sun was glistening - we got some great photo opportunities.

A nice place to visit but hard to find by using GPS we asked three people for directions and got three different answers. when we finally found the pineapple couldn't get a really good pictures because of all the people in the fountain.

Loved it. Beautiful visit even on a rainy day. The trees helped shelter us from the rain. My daughter and I both enjoyed the scenery in the park around the fountain.

The Pineapple Fountain is definitely a Charleston icon. It's beautiful and welcoming. Every Charleston visitor needs to stop through the park and see the fountain!

Neat place to see. Great view of the river. Only downfall is all the homeless we saw and them following us. Kinda the only thing to see in the park.

Lovely fountain off the battery. The park is very pretty and it opens to this pretty fountain. We parked in a lot-1 1/2 blocks away, and walked this area-lovely area to walk and get the feel of the area, lots of tree! just down the road from "rainbow row". Worth seeing and great place to take pics! (also free!)

An easy walk to see this beautiful foundation and makes a location for great pictures. Met other vacationers and helped taking photos of each other

Beautiful. Not sure if this is normal or if the fountain is broken. The week we were here only the bottom level had flowing water and no lights. End Sept - Oct.

Located a short walk south from the north entrance to the Joe Riley Waterfront Park. The fountain is probably the most photographed and recognized symbol of present day Charleston. We found it particularly attractive during the early morning and evening hours. Regrettably on our last stop at the fountain to sit and enjoy the view about two dozen “chaperoned” teens were splashing and climbing the fountain like it was an amusement water park attraction. Seriously! - there's a splash fountain at the north entrance to the park for this purpose. Beyond annoying it wasn’t safe.

Fun fountain to visit. Great photo opportunities. Cool your feet by walking in this fountain! Definitely recommend this to anyone going to downtown charleston

This is the landmark in downtown by the waterfront. It has a good view but nothing really special. It is also close to a lot of restaurants and also close to the cruise port.

Great spot to view the water if you can’t get to the beach. Pretty sculpture and fountain in a lovely park setting by the water.

This was the first place of interest we visited after checking in our hotel. The day was hot and humid and there were a number of people 'in' the fountain to cool off. Great photo opportunity but you need to be patient to get the 'best' shot. The problem I had was not with the fountain but the park next to it. We were accosted by a woman who jumped off one of the benches and followed us for a short distance, insulting my wife all the time. We did not confront the individual as there were also several male 'undesirables' also sitting close by. Walking by the fountain and park on several occasions we noticed that these same individuals appeared to be there.

The Pineapple Fountain in the Waterfront Park is a true symbol of southern hospitality evident in Charleston. The fountain is beautiful. Children may be found splashing about in the fountain on warm days. It is very unique.

don't go there just look at a Pineapple Fountain. That would be our least appealing attraction given all of the other sites there.

We came upon this fountain when taking a walk from the Harbourview Inn. As evidenced by the number of people standing in the fountain, it is very popular with the locals.

Nice to visit while close to the area. Nice day for walking….to bad parking is not the greatest. Hope to be back when in the area, traveling with a 31 year old special needs son who has limited patience wasn’t able to see all I wanted on this trip

A nice fountain as fountains go, with this time it being shaped a bit like a pineapple. Maybe fountains come in many fruit shaped designs, I really don’t know, but there were so many young sprogs running around in it, splashing and generally causing mayhem, that it was impossible to get a decent photo of anything remotely pineapple shaped, without at least 6 ‘darling angels’ attempting to be our model of the day. Nice fountain but needs a fence. There, that’ll be my tag-line.

It is a water fountain on the waters edge that is a photo op and you can say you were here. Nothing special. Wander a bit north for another fountain too.

An absolute must when visiting. it's in every picture and ad for Charleston, so just have to be there. It was so hot when we visited, so we took off our shoes and waded in the fountain - fun and refreshing.

A must for your trip to Charleston. Such a unique sight to see. We enjoyed the walk in the surrounding park as well. Beautiful trees shade the walk ways.

Nice fountain near the waterfront and the walking park. Vendue Range has a couple of good roof-top bars so it's worth the walk.

As we were walking around downtown we came here. It was a great place and nice park! The fountains were amazing, particularly this one....and also the fountain for children.

Many visitors stop here to take pictures, cool off on the water or just enjoy the view of the harbour.

It’s a fountain. The whole city turns up to use it as a pool on hot days so don’t be surprised if it’s crowded and don’t be surprised at the outfits you will see

Go in the spring. It gets very hot here in the summer. A good place to walk to. Wander around the residential areas while there.

Stopped on our walking tour and took pictures, as many did. Really didn't know why is was a pineapple ?? We didn't spend a lot of time there as we had to go. Parking is a big problem in this town. They try to sap every penny out of tourists they can get>$2.00an hr. Was told they are very strict around things people want pics of. Almost like a scam.. don't know but we spent a lot of money in charleston around the fountain area in parking. Can't stop in the whole town without paying high fee's.

This fountain was near Waterfront Park at the harbor. Very pretty. Loved the layers. Was told pineapples are a symbol of hospitality. We saw it right after departing the water taxi.

We had some time to kill before dinner, we wandered over to the Pineapple Fountain and enjoyed a relaxing 1/2 hour. Good for meditating( full disclosure, I never meditated in my life).

Beautiful park and fun place to take a pic. I didn't realize so many people actually take their shoes off and go in the fountain which is kind of unheard of in other places.

We found the fountain to be empty when we visited. It was gorgeous. You don’t need any more than 5 minutes. The rest of the waterfront park is a joy to see. This area should be a must visit while in Charleston.

We really enjoyed our visit to the waterfront and the Pineapple Fountain. It is beautiful and offers great opportunity for nice photos.

Lovely fountain but was shocked to see children and adults in the fountain!! It was hard to get a picture without seeing people frolicking! A disappointment

Pineapples are the symbol of hospitality in Charleston, and this is a great place for a souvenir photo! Take a stroll around the area; won't take long.

Nice water feature in the Water Park. Lots of people there taking photos of the fountain on a Saturday afternoon, but you can't get a really good shot since small kids are actually in the fountain wading and splashing around. Great area to stroll and sit on a bench to enjoy the weather.

While your taking a stroll on the waterfront, make sure you check out the Pineapple Fountain!

My wife really appreciated the invitation to wade in the fountains at this seaside park. I was surprised to find the fountain is concrete, not bronze, but it's still pretty.

While you're in Downtown Charleston, be sure to stop and visit the Pineapple Fountain. If nothing more than to view the beauty and tranquility of it, it's worth seeing. My friend and I spotted the famous Pineapple Fountain as we strolled along the Battery. We snapped a couple of pictures, although they weren't the best since it was an overcast that day. It is worth the stop if you are in the vicinity of Rainbow Row.

Beautiful fountain in a delightful park next to the sea. Of all the fountains in the Charleston area, do not miss this one. It is an easy walk from the Market area. The pineapple symbol is appropriate for Charleston. Take lots of photos and then stop at one of the pubs on the way back.

The fountain was gorgeous, especially at night! The area is filled with kids, families and dogs during the day. The best time to view it is at night. There are plenty of benches to sit at or a grassy area to relax and take in the view.

The fountain is in a beautiful setting and well worth a visit. Take the 211 green bus(free) and it will drop you right there.

I’m not sure why so many people want to get their photos taken here, but it seems to be a very popular spot. I suppose it’s like the “Welcome to.....” signs on the highway that always attract people - a way to post a photo on Facebook to let the folks back home know that you are somewhere they aren’t. And for that purpose it serves very well. If you are near it, go take a photo, but there’s no need to feel bad if you miss it.

The Pineapple Foundation in Charleston’s Waterfront Park is a beautiful foundation next to the River. Waterfront Park has a great walking trail along the and lots of benches. Highly recommend.

Did paid street parking (meter) in front of Tinto y Crema grabbed coffee and latte walked along the waterfront. You will pass a regular water fountain first and then turn right you will see the pineapple fountain it’s closest to the waterfront.

We were walking along the water and saw this beautiful fountain. It is lit up and gorgeous! There two other pretty fountains nearby.

This is a must see and do in Charleston. Check out the waterfront area and take in the Pineapple Fountain and its many tiers of spewing water coming from the top. Its a massive fountain and is stunning. We took lots of pictures and its fun !!

A inviting southern traditional water fountain that you can sit near, relax while people watching. Very peaceful area.

It’s a great friendly park that is safe. Lots of people and lots of people with pets. Lots of places to just sit and hang out and enjoy the surroundings.

The fountain is nice and apparently a great place to cool off in the summer but I found the story of the pineapple even more interesting.

While not historical, this fountain is a beautiful representation of the south, and Charleston in particular. Set among historical streets near the harbor. A great view of the Ravenel Bridge. And yes, you can wade in the fountain on those hot, humid days!

It was a relaxing and beautiful park. We saw a lot of kids splashing in the fountains. There were a lot of places to sit to enjoy the views. I would recommend to go early if you want good pictures as there aren't as many people around. Easy to find and a relaxing area.

Spending a little time in this picturesque spot is always on our list when we are in town. It is so relaxing to sit and listen to the water, and of course, take a photo!

The atmosphere here is pleasant, quiet and right on the river, across from the city museum, and near several excellent restaurants.

Located on the waterfront this is one of the most common pieces of Charleston you will see in books and hear of in stories. The Pineapple fountain is beautiful, unique and located at the edge of the waterfront.

Great place to take pics, if you can get past the people playing in the water. Seems to be the spot for locals to cool off after a sweltering day.

We took our kids to this fountain during our visit and they loved playing in the fountain while we took in waterfront views. I would recommend it and it's a great spot for kids during a hot day. The kids get pretty wet and it can get deep for the smaller kids, so it's probably smart to bring a change of clothes.

The fountain itself is well a fountain and to me not that exciting. I honestly didn't do any research on the fountain but the walk to and from is gorgeous. It was my first time in Charleston and the streets and trees are so charming, it felt like I escaped into another world.

Quite a bit of construction going on, but what they heck, the azaleas were in bloom, but the fountain was a real draw.

This is on the boardwalk in the Battery, was nice to view and a lot of kids like to soak their feet in the water after walking around for awhile. Have nice views of the harbor and USS Yorktown.

It's a cool looking fountain shaped like a pineapple. Not much more to say about that. I didn't see it at night but I guess it lights up.

Took pictues here one morning after watching the sunrise on the porch swings at the other end of this park. This is a nice park with 2 very pretty fountains.

Pretty fountain. Located in the park, next to the pier so a nice location. It's good for pictures but it's just a fountain so don't expect to spend a lot of time there.

Local kids were swimming in the famous Pineapple Fountain when we were there and having a blast. It's breezy and the view of the river is to die for. The surrounding park is shady and invites you to walk the dog or sit with some iced coffee and a good book.

Beautiful fountain and more as we walked around the park. The fountain itself is fantastic and the kids loved wading in the water. The background scenery was wonderful. As we walked around the fountain, we enjoyed watching the sail boats and large freighters in the wate behind.

We walked out on the nearby pier and were treated to two dolphins hunting for some food below.

The park itself was a great way to end walking through the market areas.

Well, how can you visit Charleston without seeing the famous Pineapple Fountain? It's in a park square on the water. You're allowed to wade in it too! It really is a "must see" part of the city.

The area surrounding this fountain is definitely worth visiting. It was fun to watch the kids in the fountain, enjoying the water but otherwise it wasn't of that much interest.

The fountain does not particularly surprise me, more interesting the view of the bay next door with its intense smells and scents...

No matter the weather, it's a perfect place for a picture and walking along the water is always nice. Plus, you get to see the cruise ships docking, so that's always fun.

Kids can actually swim in it - they have a ‘no life guard’ sign and everything. Kind of comical and was NOT expecting that.

Went by here in the morning, not many people there, very well kept. Later in the day, tons of people, even in the water fountain, wish I had water shoes with me, I would have joined them.

The Pineapple Fountain is part of the waterfront park, a gathering place for a large number of Charleston visitors. Water taxis are nearby. Also, swings to sit in. Even The City Gallery (slightly hidden, but worth a visit). The fountain is beautiful and you're welcome to splash your toes in it.

Wish we could have seen lit up at night. Nice park to sit and people watch or have coffee. Nice views of pier and harbor

I guess I am not a "fountain person" but seeing fountains in Savannah and Chicago this is not too much of a big deal.

Really neat fountain which visitors are encouraged to actually get in! Our lids loved it (and the nearby fountain). We brought swimsuits specifically for this break in our day. Water was warm. Lots of folks taking pictures (graduations, tourists, etc.) if that concerns you. Also entertaining as adults wet! Nice little park on the waterfront, some shade, typical aggressive squirrels, and a couple of panhandlers.

If you want a picture without people, I'd suggest getting there first thing in the morning. It is located in a nice area in which to take a leisurely stroll or sit on a bench and relax.

Great to go in evening when it cools down. Good breezes. We spotted a huge osprey in the grassy section by the second fountain. My great niece enjoyed playing in the water. Great photo opps. Also enjoyed strolling on the pier & sitting in the chair swing. Fun to enjoy the breeze and people watch.

How could you not say you went to see the fountain. It's a beautiful stroll along the River. Not far from Rainbow Row either.

The pineapple fountain was pretty cool and you can also get in it. There is also more of a splash pad fountain that is perfect for kids to run in. The walk around the park was nice as well and you could also walk down and see rainbow row from here. Street parking near the park is your best bet.

Best part of the Pineapple besides it's beauty is watching the children play in the water during the summer months.

It’s a pineapple shaped fountain. I enjoyed the park around it and there were beautiful flowers around it, which was wonderful for late February. We enjoyed the park and the view and I’m glad I saw the fountain because it’s so iconic. It was a nice start to our walk toward the battery.

We had dropped my daughter off at the airport bright and early that morning, and after getting a bite to eat decided to stroll around downtown Charleston. I had heard about the pineapple fountain but didn't realize we were headed that way until we came upon it. This park area is right on the waterfront, and there are lots of great places to stroll, or sit and take in the sights. The fountain is beautiful and a great place for photos! On the edge of the park is another "splash park" type fountain that kids were playing in, and people were letting their dogs run in for a drink - it was fun watching people enjoy that fountain as well. I wouldn't make a whole trip to come to this park, but when in Charleston it would be a great additional stop, especially to take a break or eat a snack.

The area was a nice setting to walk around. The fountain isn't as large as I was thought it would be, but was still pretty to see. It was around 80 degrees when we visited and there were children swimming in the fountain. Not exactly the picture I was hoping to get.

The fountain is very beautiful but there is not much around it so make sure you view it as you pass along the park on the way to the battery.

We felt Welcomed to Charleston at the Pineapple Welcome Fountain. Its a beautiful fountain by day and lit up at night. The Fountain is on the waterfront in the Charleston Waterfront Park.

Beautiful sight to see It’s a short walk from the Outdoor Market Place. Then continue thru Waterfront Park to Rainbow Road!! Then continue through the French Quarter back to King street for lunch or a happy hour. I recommend the Rooftop at Vendue for lunch. Dinner at Pearlz both are nearby. Or maybe a Happy hour at The Darling Oyster or ay Boubon and Bubbles!

The fountain is so gorgeous!! I have wanted to see the fountain for years! We only had a couple of hours in Charleston as we passed through on our way home. But, my husband made sure I saw it. We'll return at another time to just take in Charleston.

This is definitely a fountain. And it’s a beautiful fountain in a lovely location. Take a stroll along the waterfront, stand in front of the fountain and have your photo taken.

The Pineapple Fountain is the focal point in the city's shoreline park. It is a large three tiered fountain that dribbles water from the top level where the concrete pineapple is located to two lower large concrete bowls. When the water falls from the uppermost pineapple to the bowls below the effect of the streams of water reminded me of a jellyfish with its long tentacles. The pineapple is an obvious symbol of welcome in these parts so its placement on a city fountain in a public park is most appropriate.

This fountain is set in a shallow circular concrete pool which is surrounded by a concrete walkway. The shallow pool seems to invite waders to cool their feet. Around the pool were benches for viewing the fountain and the ocean scenery. Poorly attended areas for flowers and lawn were a distraction and did not invite strollers to linger in the park. From the fountain and its formal beds was a long tree shaded area, perfect for strolling close to the ocean, but also a favorite spot for dog walkers. This park might be a dog park from the signs I saw in the park.

The fountain is basically a photo stop for visitors in the waterfront park. Don't go out of your way for a photo though.

This is definitely one of the main attractions in the Waterfront Park. You may see people waiting in line to take a picture with the fountain in the background. You will likely see kids cooling off in the small basin (not sure why this is allowed). It is definitely unique and beautiful and it is worth a visit. The best time to visit is after it gets dark: it is nicely lit and there are no more kids in the basin. As I was trying to get a good picture of the fountain, I spent way more time than my family had patience for.

This is probably the best photo of a fountain in Charleston, SC and has a great view of the Cooper River and Patriots Point. Great photo ops here!

I've visited this fountain on several occasions. Its a cool place for pictures (prom, wedding) when dusk dark hits the lighting is JUST right. During the day, its a cool place to put your feet in the water and let the kids splash. Free!

The waterfront area is a beautiful place to take a breather from walking around charleston. There are plenty of places to sit, beautiful views of the water. The area is spacious and very clean. The only downside I was that if there were bathrooms, I could not find them. There is also a gelato shop nearby where you can get some icy goodness and then sit in the park and enjoy it.

The fountain is probably the most photographed spot in Charleston. There's beautiful view of the harbor frequently visited by dolphins at play. In the summer kids run thru the waters of the nearby fountain and on the pier there are swings for couples or for kids. An iconic landmark. Its one of the most beautiful water fountains that I have ever seen. Its right on the water front and very easy to find. The only problem with it, is its so popular its hard to get a picture of it.

Get your photo of the fountain and then stroll to the free museum directly behind it to see the amazing "We The People" exhibit by Mary Whyte. Mary Whyte painted portraits of veterans in every state. It is well worth your time to visit.

This park is huge for walking,sitting, porch swinging and visiting the famous pineapple fountain for a photo op. It’s family and dog friendly and simply a nice place to be in Charleston. We felt very safe.

This is what I kept hearing is the big landmark of Charleston. It is a pretty sight and is fairly close to some of the big shopping areas. I'm not sure how often they do this but it was filled with soap which gave it kind of an ethereal feel. It made for some great photo opportunities as well as some major fun for our three year old daughter. The water wasn't deep at all. If you stuck your fingers into it, the water wouldn't even come up to your wrist. My daughter stepped in it by accident and I'm not sure the water even got up to her ankle.
It looks pretty, its near the water, and is located near some shopping, dining, and tour stops. If you are in the area, try to go.

We strolled upon this fountain at night and it was every bit as beautiful. An iconic spot to sit next to and daydream while staring off at the harbor.

This is a nice and unique fountain in a pretty area. It’s not something I would make a special trip for, but it’s nice to look at. There were lots of kids playing in the fountain. I don’t know if that’s allowed or not but they were crazy.

The placement of the pineapple at the entrance of one's home is a way to demonstrate hospitality. In old days, sailors placed a pineapple outside their door to let all they had returned safely from sea.

Its a.... fountain. A very nice, cool looking fountain. As usual you can throw coins in and make wishes. It'll only take you a minute or two to "see it".

However, its part of a larger park, near other fountains, overlooking the water, and next to a pier. So, if you make this part of a larger trip to visit the east side of downtown Charleston, its a great marker to head to and stop for a minute.

The weather was hot (to us) even in November. This beautiful fountain was a welcome cool spot to stop and rest for a while. There are benches in the shade nearby to sit on and take in the views of the harbor. Would have been nicer if there had been public restrooms nearby.

My wife and I visited the Charleston Waterfront Park early one morning to see the Pineapple Fountain. The park is up against the ocean on a sea wall in a spectacular location looking out towards both the Ravenel Bridge and Forts Sumter and Pinckney. The highlight of the park is the Pineapple Fountain. It is really a work of art and is not to be missed. You can get to the park at the end of Vendue Range Street.

We stopped by here for a few photos while walking the Waterfront Park and surrounding area. The fountain states that only the first two steps are for getting in the fountain. If your looking for a way to cool off in the heat, go a little futher north and you will see another fountain and a small beach area.

This is a great place to take pictures and put your feet in. It's right on the water and next to a splash pad for the kids to play in.

This was one of our stops on our bus tour. We even went back to spend more time there. Walking out on the pier, Watching the people having fun splashing about in the fountain (Adults too!) Peacefull and very relaxing area. Nice views.

We walked by the fountain on a Saturday morning. I was surprised to see multiple families with young children wading in the fountain. I wanted to get some nice photos with my husband but that was not possible. I understand people need to cool off in the heat but maybe they should put a splash pad for kids somewhere else in the park.

We parked at the Visitor's Center and took the free trolley down to Waterfront Park, saw the Pineapple Fountain and then took a leisurely stroll down to the battery and White Point Garden, stopping at the Provost Dungeon for the tour, which I highly recommend. We then walked back into town for lunch and then spent the afternoon around the City Market. It's all very historic and beautiful. And the Trolley is the way to get around unless you want to pay for a tour of some type. We preferred to walk and browse at out own pace.

Park your car in any of the city's numerous lots ($2/hour but $18 max for the day) - Get your maps from the visitor center (bonus: Train museum attached & clean bathrooms) Plot your stops and hop the FREE trolly. With a short walk from Rainbow Row, you come to a beautiful public waterfront park with seating areas/conversation spots, fountains (the Pineapple is one of the most grand!) and a wonderful pier on which you can leisurely swing on one of the many wooden bench swings, while taking in the sites or walk out & view the historic Fort Sumter from afar. We walked a little further to a waterfront seafood restaurant/bar that was an awesome lunch stop! (try the stuffed hush puppies)

The waterfront is a nice sight to walk by while in Charleston and the Pineapple Fountain is very pretty.

So if you can do a drive by and take a quick pic, that is my recommendation. Well it is fun and quirk it’s not that special. The city is beautiful and I’m sure there are many more attractions that are worth your while.

Free to visit. Fountain is located right next to the water. Making it a great spot to take a break in the heat, find a shady bench and enjoy the views! Worth the visit to cool down a bit from the congested streets of downtown.

This is a must on your walk around Charleston. Be sure and have your picture taken in front of it as you visit the waterfront.

Granddaughter making a visit. Anytime she comes we have to come to the Pineapple Fountain and Splash Pad. She wears her bathing suit and gets absolutely soaked and loves every minute of it. It was really a hot and so she really enjoyed it. When you think of Charleston the Pineapple Fountain is one of the icons. The park along the water is beautiful. This is a must see if you are in Charleston.

This beautiful fountain along the waterfront is often crowded with admirers. If you can, come down around dusk or after dark to take in it's beauty in a more quiet setting. I've never seen anything like it anywhere else!

Nice walk along the water. Great views, fountain beautiful, another water experience close to pineapple fountain where one can enjoy getting wet on a hot day.

Beautiful fountain near the water and a small shaded park. Tons of photo opportunities. Very crowded on the weekends.

Nice to walk, but parking was very difficult even with handicap tag; not top on my list. kids were having fun in the fountains

 While visiting Charleston, this is a nice site to visit and take a Pic. Go early, before it gets crowded, so you can get a Pic without others in the shot.
It’s a quick walk from Meeting or King Streets
