My trail access point is only 2 blocks from my house. One favorite trip is from just north of downtown Clearwater going northward thru downtown Dunedin, up past Curlew Rd then thru Ozona until it parallels Alt US 19. You go by Hammock Park & Stansel Park. There's many places to get a bite to eat & drink. A few miles further north, the trail leaves the side of Alt 19 & goes NE to downtown Tarpon Springs. More places to eat & drink. FYI: the Sponge Docks are still a ways away from the trail thru city traffic.
Another access point is just south of downtown Clearwater & Morton Plant Hospital down to Taylor Park in Largo. If one wishes you can continue south from Taylor Park down past Ulmerton Rd. to 4 more nearby parks - Ridgecrest Park, Heritage Village, Florida Botanical Gardens, Walsingham Reservoir Park.
Except for when the trail parallels a road, almost all areas are very scenic. Our county isn't called "Pine-ellas" because of lack of trees. Next nearest scenic trail, Suncoast Trail, starts north of Tampa going northward & paralleling a divided hwy toll road. There's a generous amount of parking at SR 54 & one can go north or south. Unlike the Pinellas Trail, there's very little shade & few businesses north of SR54.

The trail is a great place to walk or ride your bike. Its nice to be away from cars but you do still have to be careful because so many people use the trail. Wish I had this close to my home!

I usually start in Dunedin, the trip through town is very quaint with shops along the way. This trail is highly used by the locals who are all very friendly. You might prefer using the trail to driving your car!

Paved trail that runs for miles through Dunedin Florida. You can walk, jog, ride a bike and bring you dog. It goes through the downtown area where there are shops and restaurants and farmers markets. Nice place to spend time.

The Dunedin section of the Pinellas Trail is one of the prettiest sections, and has many great restaurants and shops to visit on Main St. right next to the trail. Don't miss the old train station that houses a historical museum.

Pinellas Trail is a paved pathway that goes on for miles. You can choose to bike it, run it, or just take a stroll. I would suggest bringing your dog on a cooler day. It's a safe area and there's usually quite a few people out there, besides yourself. It's wide enough where there's plenty of room for all of you to do your thing. We like to go for a walk after dinner at times. In certain areas you are near restaurants or shops as well.

The trail goes right through Dunedin, so we could head off to the north or the south. Very pleasant way to spend some time either walking or cycling. It is well maintained and we noted that cafes, etc., are starting to go up along it near the town, which is nice. It also goes through parks and residential area. At roads it crosses, there are traffic lights, and the people are generous in stopping for you. Lovely!

This is a wonderful trail. The trail runs for miles from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs. There are numerous side sections, too. This spring we spent two months in Palm Harbor and rode the northern section through Dunedin, Palm Harbor and Tarpon Springs. I ride a standard bike and my wife rides an electric trike. We’ve ridden trail various sections.
The trail runs along an old rail bed and is wide and well paved. There is plenty of room for both bike and foot traffic although in some of the busier sections you need to bike more slowly.
The trail runs through towns and rural areas. Where it crosses roads the are traffic controls to insure everyone is safe. It is important to obey these traffic controls because Florida traffic along this coast can be brutal.
The trail is closed to motor vehicles. (Under Florida law an electric trike is a bicycle rather than a motor vehicle. That is not true of non-electric motorized bikes which ARE considered motor vehicles and are not permitted on the trail.) People use the trail for blading, biking, hiking, jogging, and walking the dog. There are many benches and picnic areas along the trail, and parking is available in many areas adjacent to the trail. There are also air and bicycle repair stations along the trail. Dogs are welcome but must be on a short leash.
Parking is easy to find. Sometimes we park at the Publix at Curlew and US 19-A. Other times we start at parks such as Wall Springs Park in Palm Harbor.
A nice ride is one that stops in Dunedin. That is a great town for walking with plenty of shops and restaurants. Another good ride is the northern section through Tarpon Springs. A side trail takes you over and along the Anclote River. There are picnic and wildlife observation areas.
The trail is an easy ride. The few grades are mostly slight and occur where it is necessary to go over a road or waterbody. The trail is suitable for wheelchairs.
We will definitely go back for more rides before we hit the road this summer.

Whew! Have really enjoyed using this trail both for recreation and for getting places! Beautiful to be out and getting some fresh air! Along the path I take are homes, businesses, a school, and parks, such as Wall Springs Park (restrooms). The trail is provides for two-way bike traffic and a pathway for walkers. As for access, I am a resident, not a tourist, and I'm able to come from my home. Others also converge onto the trail from their communities. Some people park at neighboring parking lots. Some park along the road. There are places along the way to stop for refreshments, and that would include restrooms. I would encourage people with bicycles to take the trail; not sure how it is for those going by foot.

If you have a bike and or want to walk without cars the trail they made is an awesome way to get around. It goes for a really long way.

We rode from Clearwater to Dunedin and visited the Saturday market. Fun trip and an easy ride, even for seniors. Wish we had one of these where we live!

It is so wonderful to have this trail. It runs right through downtown Dunedin and you can go for miles north and south. You can walk and cycle. There are bike rental companies on the trail -- we like Kafe Racer, which I will review separately. The trail has both sun and shade, but because we were there in January, it was very pleasant. Economic development has grown around the trail, so there are nice pubs and restaurants where you can watch the activity on the trail. It is very well maintained. We use it every day of our vacation in Dunedin.

We live in Dunedin right on the trail. It's a beautiful trail and lengthy. You can rent bikes at a few shops along the trail. I would recommend OTE bike shop which is in a strip mall as you head west toward the causeway, across the street from the Walgreens. They are a great shop and don't over charge.
We love riding the trail. It is safe and wide. Easily shared by all outdoors persons including bikers, walkers, strollers, roller blazers, etc.... people are courteous as well.
There are several spots along the way offering the free use of bike tools. There are water stops for human and animals.
Long to short.... take a ride. Take a walk. There are a lot of local spots to stop at along the way.

While certain sections could stand to be repaired/re-paved, overall it’s a great trail. Safe and scenic. And, the people who use it regularly are friendly and helpful.

Great paved trail for walking, jogging, cycling. Connects several scenic areas from Tarpon Springs to St. Petersburg

Walked portions of the trail from Tarpon Springs south . Bike riders and walkers share the space which is well-marked for both users.

We live about a mile from the Pinellas Trail and hubby cycles almost daily. This trail is 45 miles long extending from St. Pete to Tarpon Springs and plans to connect to other trails will extend it to 75 miles. Currently 65 miles are complete of the extension. There are overpasses that you ride over the street, otherwise, it's pretty flat. Although motorized vehicles are not allowed, you will see electric wheels, scooters, e-bikes, and every other imaginable electric device on it. When you are near the towns, e.g. Dunedin, the trail gets very crowded especially during tourist season. There are also more stops because of it intersecting with local streets. As you ride away from the towns, there is some nice open roadway. Plenty of stops along the way and most places offer bike racks. You do need to be careful of speeding e-bikes and scooters who ride the trail like a motorcycle, no peddling, just speeding along zipping in and around people. There have been instances where groups of teenagers annoy pedestrians and cyclists as well. Like everything else, stay alert. Trail rangers are around but few and far between. The Pinellas County Sheriff's office will respond to issues.

This 100% asphalt trail is flat except for the overpasses. You cross many streets. Most cross streets have a stop sign for cars. Some have a signal you activate to stop traffic. Others are low volume. A few depend on courteous drivers to stop and they usually do. The trail is marked to separate bikers from walkers. In some places the division is grass. There are three trailside water fountains and at least one bike repair station. In Dunedin, restaurants and shops are trailside. You can ride to downtown St. Petersburg. Most of the time you travel through neighborhoods. You also ride over water. There is a decent amount of shade. There are many access points. The trail is mostly a very smooth ride and is free of debris. A bike shop is trailside in Dunedin and you can rent bikes from them.

This bike trail was perfect for me. I like to stay away from traffic as much as I can and this one feels very safe except watching for distracted drivers at a few intersections. My husband felt it was a little too busy with other bikers and pedestrians but he is an avid biker who likes faster speeds.

Great paved trail. Just sampled bits of it near St. Pete. Goes for miles. Dined at Lucky Lobster in Dunedin right on the trail.

We traveled over 3 and a half hours just to ride this trail and was not disappointed. So wish we had something closer.

Where else can you go on a sunday morning, rent a bike or 2 for out of town guests, ride to clearwater beach or up to tarpon springs, get a mimosa when you drop the bikes off and maybe get a meal at a lobster place or one of the many breweries, restaurants, etc. along the trail.

Like to ride your bike (or rent one in Dunedin) and see old Florida with 26 miles of trails. Perfect for young and old. Great restaurants and shops along the way.

As a cyclist I visit the trail at least once weekly. When the weather is nice the trail can be crowded near, Dunedin, but as you get farther north it thins out considerably. A great place to bike or walk. I highly recommend it.

Goes right through the town. Bikes, skateboards, walkers, etc. Be careful if you are driving as where the trail crosses the road can be dangerous. Bikes, etc don't always slow down.

Plenty to walk and bike. Definitely worth the time. Get to see different parts of pinellas county. Great way to get exercise in. One side for bikes and one side for people walking

A wonderful place to take a leisurely bike ride or walk. The trail is completely paved and is wide enough to be shared by everyone. We had a minor bike maintenance issue and there was a pole on the side with a variety of tools attached and we were adjusted quickly. Also, found in Ozona a station to stop for free air and water and saw several businesses along the way with dog watering spots. Overall, a great way to enjoy the area.

There is something along this trail for everyone! Walk, bike ride , jog or stroll. You can get on or get off as many places. You can bike ride to a restaurant or bar. Bring the kids. Bring the grandparents ! Something for everyone!

There’s so much to see and do along this trail. We travelled by E-bike so we were able to cover about 25 of the 38 miles. The only negative- we ran in to 2 jerks in our week stay in Dunedin- both on the trail. Each jerk was on their high dollar racing bikes and made rude passing comments. That group thinks they own the trail and they take themselves way too seriously. The trail is for everyone’s pleasure.

Love the trail... I have used it in different parts of the county and its always nice. The areas I have traveled have been safe and enjoyable.

This trail is a brainwave and jewel of the area. Friendly and easy to use with oodles of places to stop especially in Dunedin. Bikes or walking lots to enjoy

This is a great paved trail with bridges over many intersections. Unfortunately, there are still parts thru Clearwater that are a bit difficult to determine where the trail is and where it crosses the street. Feels dangerous in those areas, but they are fewer.

I’ve used the trail many times. I recommend north county and the honeymoon island causeway. Some of the south county stretches are through not so nice areas, and the trail is very poorly marked in Clearwater. Overall though it’s fantastic.

I haven't been on a bike in ages, but it was really fun to ride the trail. We did not do the whole trail, but did travel back and forth to Dunedin from our host home. The town is very bicycle friendly. Many people were strolling, bicycling and running on the trail.

This is a nice paved walking and cycling path following the route of an old rail line. It goes on for miles, including right through downtown Dunedin and by TD Ballpark. We used it often to walk back and forth to Dunedin restaurants and attractions.

Well prepared/maintained trail perfect for biking. Looks like it was an old railroad bed- has well marked street crossings and at least on bridge over the busy alt 19.

Great trail for all - flat, paved - 48 miles from Tarpon Springs to St. Petersburg. Some dicey intersections near Clearwater & several sidewalk areas to deal with but overall a wonderful experience for everyone!

We ride the Pinellas Trail at least 30 miles a week and always enjoy the ride. The trail is well maintained. The are benches here and there as well as bicycle repair stations and bathrooms along the route. There is varied scenery and plenty of wildlife to see. A variety of birds, tortoises and squirrels. Fun for the whole family, the casual rider or the serious cyclist. Highly recommended!

Just do it. This trail takes you through neighborhoods, the adorable town of Dunedin, cafes, baseball parks and near the shoreline. Well shaded, level and just great to be outdoors.

I've have used the trail at several location. Best part - very long urban trail. Bad part - some areas need to be upgraded. Nice rides n northern Pinellas County.

While visiting with friends, we decided one day to do some biking. We picked up this trail in Dunedin, and rode up to Tarpon Springs, a trip of about 10 miles each way. The bike trail is extremely well looked after, signed, and used. There is very little contact with motorized vehicles, other than where the trail crosses an intersection. There are even markers on the trail, where you can supply information if needed, in an emergency. A very pleasant way to spend a few hours.

Old rail line so it is flat and relatively straight lot of amenities along the route lots of water and washrooms and bike repair posts. At least 3 bike rental shops on the north end and to top it off lots of beer holes for those so inclined . If you have a few hours get out and go for a ride !!!

close to all the bars and shops! great trail for downtown - wish all towns did this! 8 breweries within a mile....

This is a great trail. We rode about 30 miles. It is paved and easy riding. It does go through some towns so you have to cross streets periodically. It was a bit hard to find where to start it, but very nice once we found it. We stayed at Clearwater Beach. Rode across the causway then got onto the trail.

My wife and I started our bike ride from Clearwater Beach. We rented E-Bikes in Clearwater Beach. We rode North from Clearwater Beach to Tarpon Springs. We very much enjoyed our ride and felt very safe on the trail. The trail was well marked. There was a lot of stop and go riding, with a lot of intersections and stop signs to deal with on the trail. It seemed like most of the intersections with the roads were 4 way stops. It was a fun ride for us, and for us visitors, the scenery was especially fun. Both Tarpon Springs, and Dunedin, were fun stops. We would absolutely visit the Pinellas Trail again, probably try going south from Clearwater Beach next time.

So much to see and do on this trail. You can ride it in between each city and stop in some really cute quaint areas of the county. It's easy to find a place for lunch or a picnic or even a beer at a local brewery too!

Walking the Pinellas Trail is not only good exercise, but has a nice view as well. The only other option is to go to a local park to exercise.

Miles and miles of trail that will take you st Pete to tarpon springs. Trails are safe during the day. Be cautious at night.

Love this “trail” that extends from the downtown area of Dunedin. It is shaded no matter what time of day and wide enough so that walkers, joggers, and cyclists can all coexist and enjoy being outside.

The only negative I have is that the bridge between Tampa Road and Curlew Road is closed it would be nice to be able to cross the road versus going all the way up to Tampa or all the way back to Curlew. Very scary to go across Alternate 19 at that crosswalk

Great Trail that winds it’s way thru. Make sure you have company. Don’t carry valuables or go after sunset. Very interesting trail that crosses some busy thoroughfares.

Excellent safe space for walking and biking. Love how we can get right through downtown Dunedin on the trail.

Nice bike trail that was easily accessible, had lots of scenery and attractions and family friendly.

this is a must ride if you are in the Clearwater/St Pete hood. The trail is well marked and the scenery is lovely. I wish there were more trails like this. really awesome.

Been on many times. Runs length of pinellas cty approx on an old railroad line about 1/2 mile from coast. Lots of fun things to look at: old houses, buildings, lush foliage. Lots of bars and restaurants along the way. Watch out at four way stops! DONT use at night or at dusk as no police patrolling.

Used it every day for a month -- for walking, morning jogs and exploring from Palm Harbor all the way to Clearwater. We were staying in Dunedin and the trail was big reason why we live the area so much!

Most excellent "rail trail" from Tarpon Springs in the north to St Pete in the south. Over 38 miles of nicely paved trail for walking, biking, or skating. I especially love the section through Dunedin. Very casual. Shops, bars, restaurants, and museums on this section. Great way to spend a day.
Highly recommended!

The Pinellas trail from Dunedin, north and south is a pleasant ride, there are stops off the trail, eateries, breweries, bike service station, shops.

Beautiful bike trail. Perfect warm but cool weather in February. Rented our bikes at most fabulous place Kafe Racer. We travelled from Kafe Racer in Dunedin northward for 5 miles and back. Stopped for the most delicious grouper sandwich and fries at Frenchy’s Outpost Bar and Grill. Traffic control at every intersection is great, nice separation between bikers and pedestrians, and nice mix of shade and sun on this portions of the trail!

We rode approximately 5 miles north from Dunedin. The trail is paved, sufficiently wide, and well maintained. Also very safe at intersections. If all you care about is riding the bike outside, this is a flat, safe, smooth ride that goes for a long way. On the other hand, the trail is for the most part removed from the water and there isn't that much to see from the trail that is of interest, at least not on the stretch that we rode on.

really there is much else to say about a bike trail. if you want some physical activity and enjoy riding a bike, this bike trail is a gem! also, as you ride through towns like dunedin, you have many bars, restaurants and cafe to stop by and enjoy a break at. i think the trail is what enables dunedin to have such a bike friendly culture (still dangerous to ride on road though as the traffic here is getting worse by the day.)

Fantastic bicycle trail, nice scenery, travel through quaint small towns, enjoy a snack or meal at restaurants along the way or at the end of your destination. Stop and chat with other cyclists or locals and enjoy the ride. We rode to Clearwater one day and Tarpon Springs another day. Also strolled along the trail a few times early evening. If you visit on a Friday or Saturday be certain to stop in Dunedin at the Farmers Market. I bought some delicious honey at market.

Avoid traffic and enjoy the bay area by bike. It has no enough shade, so better to ride from autumn to spring, when it is not too hot, but gives you enough to exercise and discover the area.

There is no other bike trail like the Pinellas Trail! Beautiful paved walking and biking trail with plenty of shade and rest areas. Lots to see and do if you like to veer off the trail now and then.

We so enjoyed walking from our condo complex to the Blue Jay's spring training park. They have one side marked for bicycles and one side for walkers so much safer than some multi-modal paths

Bike up to Tarpon Springs and spent the night. Great food spots along the way including downtown Dunedin with shops and breweries. Also can be walked.

This is a great place to get out for some exercise, available to bikers and walkers and joggers alike. We try to use it each time that we visit. It's quite lengthy so you can access it at a variety of spots.

We were staying at a local resort which offered free bicycles so we signed one out and rode this trail which is for walkers or bicycles only. It is quite long and has a paved trail to ride on.

This flat, wide trail is perfect for all levels of activity. For us it was a beautiful, relaxing stroll with glimpses of the gulf.

We rode many different ways on this trail. The length of Honeymoon Island / Dunedin Causeway and into the park ($2 per person if you enter park, which we did. Nice empty trail there.) And from Causeway to Crystal Beach pier. And from Causeway to downtown Dunedin. It goes all the way to Tarpon from the Causeway too. It has a lot of variety and you see lots of marinas up that way. It's mostly flat so you can go longer than other long trails since it's less work. If you go from Causeway toward Tarpon, you can go over the highway on the bridge. That is a bit steep and more work but better than trying to cross 4 or so lanes of traffic staying below if it's a busy time of day. But at least they give you a choice. Just love the way this area is bike friendly.

This trail was a treat. There was abundance of birds, great connection to various regions, easy to ride. Only drawback was the number of road crossings.

My lady and I regularly ride from our house in Palm Harbor to the Pinellas Trail and then on to Tarpon Springs for a nice meal. A great trail.

We came to Dunedin specifically to ride the trail and it is so much fun. The path is wide and very easy to ride. Very clean and marked well. We did not get to ride the entire trail due to time but we'll be back!

Perfect trail to walk, bike, roller blade. Stops for ice cream to down towns are on the way plus weather is grand. I also felt safe.

this trail runs up the gulf coast of Florida. We have walked, run and biked on the trail. A safe way to exercise and have fun.

We were staying in Palm Harbor and were able to walk to the trail and take it all the way into Dunedin where we stopped for breakfast. The trail is great because there are separate bike paths and walking paths, so you don't get in each other's way!

I enjoy power walking each morning on the trail! I live 2 blocks from the trail and love to traverse the trail in Dunedin.

Only walked along this trail for a short while but can see why it is popular. Well laid out with good street markings. Plenty to see along the way. Will hire a bike next time.

This trail is wonderful! I've been to Clearwater 3 times since March & make it a point to walk on this trail as much as I can. The trail is beautiful & peaceful. It can get busy, but it is big enough to handle it. You can walk, run, bike, roller blade...... whatever your heart desires.

I ride lots of trails in England and this is a very user friendly trail. There are lots of water stops and toilets along the way. It is very flat and tarmac track so no dust. This would be a excellent trail for disabled riders. We only did 10 miles of it but was a nice family ride. If your not used to the heat in the summer take water and sun cream. Would love to do all of it

I love this trail. I was on it both times I was in Dunedin - in April and again in July 2016. I even walked it at night (felt safe), although I am not recommending you do that! It's pretty flat and makes for a good place to run, walk, or bike. Parts of it are scenic, but mostly it stays in a urban-suburban setting, which I really liked because there are places to stop (i.e., parks, restaurants) to use the bathroom, get some water, and eat. I know some locals use the trail for commuting, and I certainly would consider that if I lived there.

Pinellas Trail is a wonderful walking, running, biking trail that goes from St Petersburg to Tarpon Springs with many local restaurants, breweries and coffee shops along the way.

Great paved trail for biking, walking and running in safety. This trail winds through many towns and there is a lot to view....

Great trail...love that in many areas, it has lane for bikes and another lane for walkers/runners. Lots to see...you go over water areas, breweries/coffee shops right off trail too. South of Dunedin, you can just go a few blocks over off the trail and be right on water to rest etc. Really great trail!

Awesome trail! Took use to Clearwater Beach, Honeymoon State Park, Coutney Campbell Causeway, Tarpon Springs, Walsprings Park. Able to biked to all meals. Bike rental readly available. Bikers dream vacation.

If you are visiting Dunedin hire a bike and take a ride it's flat easy riding and a great way to burn off a few calories too. The trail is very safe a few roads to cross but the cars always stop for you which really nice. The path is wide and there's even a flyover to get over the main road so no excuses.
There's miles of path too.

I had a chance to walk & ride the trail. Really easy to use / enjoy. They have done a great job maintaining it and definitely worth using if you have the time.

The trail was made from old railroad tracks that were no longer in use. I love that it runs so close to the water in easy to access areas, like Curlew Rd and Alt 19 (Bayshore) as well as the Dunedin Marina. Palm Harbor is, for me, a bit boring and not as accommodating as the Dunedin section of the trail. Clearwater section of the trail is improving slowly. The Belleair section has virtually nothing of interest to those using the trail. It would be wonderful if that town could put more effort into development for those using the trail. I prefer the trail area north of Clearwater as it seems to cater more to those who walk and bicycle. For us, this is a great activity when people come to visit. We rent bicycles and ride the trail from Curlew Rd to Downtown Dunedin or visa-versa. There are nice restaurants at each end and easy water access. It's always a big hit with our guests!

One of the better bicycle trails in the state. Many portions are "in the woods" with shade and cool breezes. Also a few sections divide into separate walking and bike trails - a great idea.
We began in Dunedin. We rode to Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks, drank some Greek Coffee ( not for the weak of heart), a little Gyro meat, and a shot of Ozzo to warm the tummy. Then back south and out to Honeymoon Island, and all the way south and west to Clearwater Beach (one BIG bridge to climb) for a beach side beer. Then back across that BIG BRIDGE, and north to Dunedin. What a great ride, and a great day!

So glad we heard about this nearly 50 mile, asphalt trail. We rode nearly 20 miles each way from Dunedin (we found a parking area at this end by checking out WAZE, but there is also a nearby supermarket that some folks park near) to Tarpon Springs and appreciated the overhanging, shady trees draped with Spanish moss, the open spaces, the division in the trail for walkers vs. bike riders, and the surprise find, right next to the trail (and you can certainly hear the apes and orangutans barking!) of a primate rescue center just south of Tarpon Springs. There are bathrooms at the trailside butterfly farm north of Dunedin, water fountains in numerous places, and even a place to put air in your tires.

My friend and I rented electric bikes in Dunedin from Pedego and rode from Dunedin to Honeymoon Island, and then to Tarpon Springs and the Sponge Docks. Signage to the Sponge Docks was very poor and we missed them and had to turn around. But this was a FUN day and the trail is nice and wide. You have to leave the trail to bike to Honeymoon Island and the trail is then narrower over some high bridges. I can't wait to do this again!!

This trail is perfect for walking and particularly cycling. From Tarpon Springs in the north to St. Petersburg in the south it is an excellent trail following the old railway route and behind modern suburbia. There are a few places to visit along the trail and just off the trail such as in Dunedin.

Pinellas Trail extends from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs, its total length is over 38 miles.
Dunedin has a very welcoming entrance to the trail, right from Main Str. There are always people walking there, bike rentals are also available. The trail is very well-marked with green signs along the trail, which also give some useful, emergency contact numbers. Outside the central part of Dunedin, where it can even be perceived as an attractive decoration of the city, the trail goes back to its more suburban, natural look.
A lot of info about Pinellas Trail is of course available on various websites.

While the trail is a lot longer, our use on this particular weekend was limited. Trail is safe and served our purpose well.

Really a great place for walking, running, biking. Safe, pretty in places, can stop off in interesting towns like Dunedin for a break. I love it.

Among the best bike/walk trails I've ever seen. Excellently maintained and popular! AND the motorists I experienced at cross-streets were AWARE and careful for riders. I especially noted the 'emergency location markers' which can be used to quickly tell 911 where you are. A EXCELLENT feature. I only wish I'd been on MY bike versus the loaner I had. I just may have to go back for a bike weekend with mine.

Paved trail with designated walking and biking lanes in congested areas. Decent parking access. Restroom facilities in Dunedin.

Rent bikes from Kafe Racer, if you don’t have your own.
Ride from Dunedin to Tarpon Springs. Take some pictures by the sea sponges, fascinating. Then get some baklava before the return trip.

Had a fabulous day on this bike trail! Pretty and well kept. Nice to ride and have a few beers in Dunedin (I think five good breweries in a mile area). Lots of shade

This is a very nice trail. We weren't on it for very long but even though there was an art fair going on we still had plenty of room. It did not feel crowded at all.

Nice trail for biking or walking with restaurants and shops along the way. We rented a double trike from our hotel and took it down this trail. It was a very nice ride.

This path is hard to beat. A great addition to any community. All towns should work to have an amenity like this. It is a draw for people of all types and thus supports many types of other business. Great job!!

This is an amazing trail but the best spot for us is stopping in Dunedin. Be careful to walk or bike in the proper lane as the bikes can go by rather quickly if you're not careful. There are public restrooms along the trail beside the Caboose cage in Dunedin. It's very clean.

This is a wonderful place to take a scenic walk, jog, or bike through the Dunedin area. It takes you through several neighborhood, town, and wooded areas and is so well maintained and flat. Will visit again if we can!

a wonderful walk or bike ride 2 and 1/2 miles out and back with water on both sides! My wife & I live in Delightful Dunedin and try to walk the Spur every Wednesday & Thursday.

This was a fantastic experience. Hiring an electric cycle and cycling to honeymoon island. What a wonderful day.
The bike company, Pedego were brilliant, and the way the cycle path (trail) was laid out was first class.
The Americans really know all about recreation.
Again a great day was had.
We will definitely be going back.

The Pinellas Trail is a gift for runners. You can run a marathon (literally) and never leave the trail.

This is a well designed and managed trail. It is all paved and wide enough to handle riders and walkers. Many of the major intersections have bridges to safely cross and others have good signals for stopping cars while cyclists cross. There are lots of restrooms available along the trail. It is a real joy to ride.

Ride this trail as often as possible. 10-25 miles, 3-5 days a week. Always an enjoyable experience. Gets a little busy on the weekends.

So impressed with Dunedin & the Pinellas Trail (St.Pete to Tarpon Springs)!
Well marked, separating walker / runner and bikers. The portion we experienced did have street crossing, however everyone was courteous and yielded to trail goers. One portion of the Dunedin trail paralleled a children’s park, a fit zone area and a short path to the pier. Leased dogs are allowed on the trail. Some areas have water views. Our stay at the Meranova B&B was just a short walk to the trail. Absolutely lovely few days spent walking & exploring Dunedin area!

This is a very nice trail that goes from St Petersburg all the way up to Tarpon Springs. It's very convenient as it has many access points along the way. Plus you can stop off in places like Dunedin to get a bite to eat. This Trail is very wide so it can accommodate bicycles as well as people walking.

This trail is easy for running, walking and biking. I've walked it many times in Seminole and in Dunedin. Whenever I'm in the area, I look for this trail, knowing its a great place to get out and stretch my legs.

Every County needs A Trail...Bravo Pinellas! Very cool idea and awesome amenity for the community! Whether you a biker, walker, or a jogger this is the way to roll in Pinellas.

Great to keep you motivated. A cycling pathway and walking pathway. I walk 3 times a week and find that even during quiet times there is always someone either walking or cycling. There is a children's park and excercise area near Weaver Park too.

The Pinellas Trail is about 1/4 mile from where we live. We do bridge walks all around the east and we decided to start in St. Petersburg and walk all the way to Tarpon Springs (about 38 miles) and back (another 38 miles). We did it on Sundays and going eight or miles a day, made it in 10 weeks. The trail is very well maintained -- as are most everything from state parks and causeways in Pinellas County -- and it was quite a trip. Some very nice areas and a couple of shaky areas but nothing to be concerned about. We found that once we got up to Dunedin, it was a beautiful journey. We've done parts of the trail before and after, but going all the way -- and back -- is the best way to see it all. You get a starting point, walk four miles (or until you see a good spot for your next walk) and walk back to your car. We plan to do it again this winter.

Easily one of the nicest bike trails I’ve ever ridden, if not in the nation. When we stayed in Dunedin for three nights in March, we borrowed bikes from the hotel and used the trail every day. This allowed us to venture into downtown on a few occasions and take a day trip all the way to Tarpon Springs. We chose this destination over Clearwater because, according to some other bikers, the scenery was better in our direction.
Sure enough, the sights left and right from the trail were absolutely splendid. Despite the fact that we were riding old single-speed clunkers with baskets, we had no trouble maintaining our composure on the trail and hanging with the big boys. There was plenty of room for speedsters, pseudo-cyclists on electric bikes, wannabee big shots like us lacking optimum equipment, and even walkers doing their daily rounds. In fact, one of the two bike lanes, approximately 33% of the real estate, was reserved specifically for them.
Safety was clearly a key priority of those who designed this trail. Most crosswalks leading from the path onto car traffic were protected by flashing lights which were activated instantly with a single tap of a button. Cars in this part of Florida were evidently trained to stop on a dime for bicyclists as if we were escorting the Pope. There was also a very impressive screened overpass that allowed us to avoid a major intersection a few miles north of Dunedin. The only thing missing was a moving conveyor sidewalk to get stragglers up the hill! :-)

The trail is so awesome.. I am not even sure how far it goes bit I believe you can get to St. Petersburg... very pretty bike ride in most places.. we ended up going from Dunedin to past downtown Clearwater and had a great ride.. we are going to keep going and try different directions and locations to start... it is a great weekend ride!

Beautiful trail to just park and ride or walk. There was even an ice cream truck! Definitely will be doing it again next year!

If you do it all it's about 33 miles but there are some great things to see and do in Dunedin. On a cooler day it's well worth the time spent on the trail.

The Pinellas Trail is part of the "Rails to Trails" program, and currently it runs from St. Pete, Fl, all the way up to Tarpon Springs, and goes even further with the latest segment recently opening. It's a flat course, used by bicyclists, jogger, walkers, just about anyone wanting some time outdoors. Since it's inception, many businesses have located, or relocated, so they are Trail accessible, including equipment rentals, food and drink establishments, and small business opportunities. Early mornings, and late afternoons, you will even see commuters who skate, bike or walk to work. It's a safe family outing, with limited road interaction, and trail street crossing signals when needed. All in all an excellent place to relax, unwind, and take in the beauty of nature.

This is a nice trail since the sidewalks are pretty small near Palm Harbor / Dunedin. The trail doesn’t have overpasses though, so you have to stop and wait at the lights every block, so it’s more of a large sidewalk.

Certainly one of our favorite places to ride. We have done the whole distance. Well maintained. Convenient with bike shops, restaurants, bars along the way.

Are you looking for a long, I mean super long, trail that rides from one end of Pinellas county to the other? This is the place! From long stretches along pretty basic highways, to running through scenic and kitschy downtown settings… This Pinellas trail system is magnificent. Safe, easy to get around, and at times simply beautiful.

The Pinellas trail is beautiful example of the rails to trails program. It runs the wing county and offers excellent opportunities for exercise whether you enjoy bicycling, running, walking, rollerblading or anything similar. You have overpasses in many locations to avoid having to worry about traffic and beautiful views in many locations of waterfront or park areas, as well as many areas through downtown and residential communities. There are numerous places along the way to eat, drink or use restrooms.

The Pinellas Trail, a rails to trails project, has been many years in its development and segment extensions. From the south end of the county to the north, I suggest you pick a segment and explore. Depending on how far you want to go, from Clearwater south, the rides are longer between stops and generally more residential with a couple of bridges over busier roads. As you get down to St. Pete, nearby commercial options, restaurants, etc., start showing up. From Clearwater north thru Dunedin, Palm Harbor, and Tarpon Springs, there are shops, restaurants, attractions, and more. This is by far the more enjoyable portion of the trail if you want to simply cruise (bike or walk) and take in the sites and smells of virtually every cuisine imaginable in this area. Don't plan to bike fast thru these areas; too many people and stops. Go up north above Palm Harbor for a more open and faster trail ride. Be sure to stop by Wall Springs park in Palm Harbor for a break as well as the breweries and restaurants and cap off in Tarpon Springs with some homemade Baklava.

walkers and bicyclists only - no motorized vehicles. You can take a nice leisurely walk with your dog or run like the wind. It runs through the town and out through the countryside. You can walk off the path in town, have lunch, and then just continue your walk. What a great use of space..

I am so glad that the local officials decided that e-bikes are not motorized vehicles. That is my understanding of the federal law which went into effect years ago to promote the use of e-bikes, etc. Now that the Pinellas Trail is officially legal for e-bikes, it is even that much more relaxing. Anybody who has been on a bike trail, especially on NYC's West Side, knows that bike riders can usually, if they wish, travel much faster than 20 mph, which is about the maximum the e-bike motors generally produce.

We rented bikes and took the twenty km trip heading north of Dunedin stopping to the springs as well as stopping for lunch having a few beers . The route was clean and well kept with bicycle repair stations along the route . Thx path went over the major route witch was helpful . You can rent bikes in Dunedin next to the path if desired . Also an easy ride for all ages .. Have fun

Was vacationing in Dunedin and used the trail to cycle into downtown for breakfast, beautiful scenery and very safe

My husband and I walked just a short portion of the trail while visiting Dunedin over Labor Day weekend and were very impressed with the amount of people that are using it. People walk, bike, run, and traffic does give way for people when they come to intersections. Very impressive trail

I will walk on the trail from Dunedin to Palm Harbor. This area is very safe and usually many people walking, skating, and biking on the weekends. The trail has many parks along the way for restroom and drinking fountains. I do suggest that you bring a water bottle to fill up. There is lots of trees for shade, but, summers can be very hot. The people are usually friendly and at least nod as they pass. The walkers stay to one side and the bikes are on the other side. There are great crosswalks. But always wait for the cars to stop and / or acknowledge you for your own safety.

Well maintained bike trail with several interesting places to stop along the way. The streets are well marked and most are a 4 way stop or have a flashing light for the bikers. Mostly flat with Several bridges to pass over. Bars and restaurants as well as little cities along the path.

old railroad repurposed, very popular trail, with walkers and bikers, lots of places in town to stop and eat/drink

Nice area to walk and bike for exercise or tourism. Bikers think they own the road and "buzz" by you at times nearly hitting you. Bikers also totally ignore the stop signs thinking they are exempt from the stop signs...one of them will get hit and, of course, they will blame the motorist that may or may not have a stop sign. As much used as this trail is, it is in need of repaving....many bumps and cracks in the blacktop. As this is a major attraction...it's time for some maintenance.

Always a great place for a ride or walk. Sections make it easy to do small bits if desired, or you can spend a good bit of time riding the whole trail. After the beaches/waterfronts we have, the trails in this county are one of our outdoor crown jewels.

Great trail for biking. Dedicated lane for bikes etc. I rode this from treasure island area I to St. Petersburg twice and was hassled by kids hanging out in the trail each time. They would watch for me to come by then begin walking across the trail forcing me to dodge them and moving in fromt of my bike. I also witnessed a full blown fist fight in the middle of the trail as I was riding.
If they want to keep this trail safe (imho it’s not) St. Petersburg needs to start some patrols on it.

Paved trail running the length of Pinellas county from Tarpon Springs to St Pete. Bike it or walk it - goes thru some great towns along the way. Never far from the beaten path.

I am a snow bird bike rider looking for a bike shop to help me with repairs after I crashed my bike. Lucky for me I visited Tom's bike shop. They were extremely friendly, helpful and competent. They fixed my bike in little time and were very reasonable. Thanks guys for what you have done for me. For sure I'll be back next year hopefully for a different reason. Urly D

Enjoy the Pinellas Trail especially from Dunedin to Palm Harbor. The trail is well maintained and great sites along the path.

Well maintained and with the local heavy traffic, it is the only way to go. I have found drivers very considerate to bicyclists. Connects Dunedin with beaches.

Our daughter does a 25 mile bike ride on the trail every time she visits. It is a 47 mile paved path through Pinellas County from the southern end of the county to Tarpon Springs. They recently added a new loop east to the Hillsborough County line that connects to the southern leg along East Lake Road to Tampa Road. It is a fairly wide path with lane delineation for bikes, mile markers and provides easy access throughout its length. Hikers, joggers, walkers also utilize this public asset. It is well maintained and has plans for future expansion as well. There are numerous restaurants, cafes, shops and interesting sites all along its length. We are lucky to have such a venue.

Stay away from this trail. The city and county don't care and let eBikes run crazy. Teenagers harass people on the trail, and people even ride motorcycles on it. Someone is going to get hurt one day. It is not safe and the county and towns should be ashamed of themselves for their lack of enforcement.

Love the trail. We ride our bikes here often .I think it’s ideal for bicycles but I don’t think it is pedestrian friendly . Sometimes other bicyclists can be a little aggressive and drive a little too fast . We ride for a relaxing excercise and sometimes it gets a little intense but we really enjoy the trail .

What a lovely trail, I wish we had more time to explore it! How great the biker/walker separation and the cafes that back up to it! Give it a try.

My husband and I had the perfect day renting bikes in Dunedin at The Bike Lab and biking to Honeymoon Island. Beautiful scenery and a fun day exploring the area. We can’t wait to go back.
The couple who own The Bike Lab are great! The bikes were top notch and the rentals were just $20 each for a half day. Highly recommend. Their shop is right off the trail and you can park in their lot.

Safe and easy access to downtown and all it offers. Walk, bike, roller blade and/or jog your way to downtown.

We biked a number of trails during our 10 day vacation in FL and this was one of them. We went from Dunedin to Clearwater and back. It was a nice flat trail but it did cross a lot of streets, and once in Clearwater we were actually on a street in a special lane that had stops at every corner, so it was not the best. There was free parking in the park close to the start of the trail, and the park also had restrooms.

Cruise along this segment and ride from one quaint town to another. Both Dunedin and Tarpon Springs have quaint, scenic downtown areas with loads of character, shopping and restaurants. There are many upstart craft breweries along the way, so there is no lack of refreshment for thirsty riders. The path is flat, paved and well marked. We were delighted to see not only maps, but little maintenance stations along the way in case your bicycle needs emergency attention. We will be back, and we will allow for more time to poke around in Dunedin and Tarpon Springs. Well done Pinellas County with this lovely bikeway.

We rode from Dunedin to Tapon Spings on rented e bikes (from the Bicycle Boutique). What a great time! We rented for 3 hours and that allowed us time to visit Hellas bakery for Baklava, take out spanakopita from Mamas, and shop for some sponges. We could have spent another hour there but needed to get back. We averaged 16 mph but the e-bikes can really fly! We felt like we were cheating as we passed other bikers, but it was a fun outing.

We were based in Dunedin and biked north and south. The trail is well marked and the road crossings are well signed with crossing signals.

We rented bikes in Dunedin and rode north to Tarpon Springs. The ride was flat, easy and not very crowded (it was a Monday morning). What impressed me the most was the restrooms along the way at a couple of parks as well as the two “tool stands”. If your bike needs a quick adjustment these stands just may have the right tool for you. How user friendly! It was a wonderful way to spend a few hours before heading back home later in the day.

I'm on this trail for biking for exercise (or snacks) and running as well all the time. Particularly nice to travel from Tarpon Springs south to Dunedin. It continues for about another 20 miles south and and ends up in St. Petersburg. Tarpon to Dunedin is roughly 10 miles and all you may need to see since there are parks and places to stop and eat all along the way (and great shopping at both destinations). Great for exercise or simply seeing the sights.

So safe to ride or walk and has plenty of shade and view. Crossing roads are easy and everyone is friendly on the trail and says hello.

Such a nice stretch to either walk, run or ride your bike. Goes thru a few interesting downtown areas where you can stop to rest, have a drink, watch the sunset ...

Great trail. Some of the people on the trail do not follow the rules as to walking vs biking, and then there are the dogs! Trail was messy but could be due to Irma.

We rode bicycles on the trail and also walked it in Dunedin. The trail was clean and easy to access. The trail crosses many streets, but the cars are EXTREMELY aware of the trail. They always yielded to the people using the trail, and would even wait for you to cross if they saw you approaching and not near the crosswalk. If you're visiting the area, I would suggest renting a bike and taking a ride. I also enjoyed taking a break and shopping at the stores around Main Street.

We loved borrowing bikes from the motel we were staying and riding into downtown Dunedin along the trail. It's a very easy ride (this section anyway) and we were very grateful that a lot of it was shaded, because it was hot! Took a little detour to a butterfly garden which was cute and found a small Vietnamese snack shack right on the trail to eat at!

we stayed at a condo/resort close to the trail near Dunedin. it is a long trail but we biked it one day to the north and then the next day walked/ran to the south through Dunedin and toward Clearwater. seems to be a safe place to walk/run bike just be careful at the intersections as some cars do not always pay attention to the trail users

This was by far one of our highlights on our visit to Dunedin. Hop on the trail and cruise around into town. Lots of stops to stop along the way. At every street crossing, cars came to a complete stop and let us pass. Felt very safe and other riders were super friendly always saying hi!
What a treasure.

Relax, excelents view points, very good food options beside the trial, so many miles to bike, run or just walk, safety and respect from other riders. A place to enjoy.

Very nice trail & when crossing roads, cars are more courteous than when you are driving. A lot of traffic & even though it's against the law, many people wear headsets. Very few give warnings when passing you.

Wow. Big wide trail for biking or walking. Great signage. Paved and smooth. We did not travel a great distance but it was just super through Dunedin.

Enjoy Dunedin - get away to a great town as the trail splits Main Street. Take your time and stop in local shops or one of the many brew pubs for a cold pint

We are so lucky that this fantastic trail is no more than 50 feet from our front door! My husband often walks the dog here in the morning, and we walk to downtown Dunedin when we are feeling really energetic...it's 2 miles one way!

It has been a while since we've been in dwntown Dunedin and WOW has it grown up. Prior to the trial, this town had an 80% vacancy rate for commercial ventures. There are now more restaurants than I could count on and just off the trail. It is worth taking a side trip a few blocks and riding around downtown Dunedin...maybe down to the wqaterfront. Anyone promoting trails should use this city as a benchmark to show naysayers what happens when a trail replaces a railroad track. From Dunedin south, it is probalby 10-15 miles to St. Petersubrg where it connects with another trail over the big bridge. To the north, it about 10+ miles to Tarpon Springs and the Greek restaurants and spnge docks and about 8-10 miles and bey9ond where it is scheduled to go through Countryside.

Nicely paved path with lanes for bikers and joggers. It crosses through several small towns and has restaurants and small shops sporadically placed along it. It's also mostly shaded, so it can be a nice place to stay active in the hot afternoons.

This trail is more than 30 miles long and has interesting side trails and spurs. Parts of the trail are urban and not very attractive, but it is also a good trail for getting around the Tampa Bay area on a bike if you hook up with other trails. Eventually, this trail will be the western terminus of a trail that crosses Central Florida and ends at the Atlantic near Kennedy Space Center.

What a great amenity for Pinellas County. It is nearly right outside my front door and I use the trail often. Weekends can sometime be a bit crowded with walkers and all sorts of bikes and other riding contraptions. Quite often people on bikes crowd walkers off the walking space. Also you must be careful at intersections.

Just love this trail! Great for biking, and a nice walk . Parks along the way. Great restaurants for lunch and breakfast in all price ranges, a gazebo to rest in and sip a drink, a place to rent bikes if you like. Shaded areas along the way... craft breweries... just LOVE !!!!

In addition to great beaches, the Pinellas Trail is a great way to get out and enjoy the outdoors. We have biked, walked, and run on the trail. Biking the trail is a fun alternative to driving if you're heading north or south to shop or eat at a restaurant.

Great for walking or biking! All kinds of restaurants, breweries, and parks along the trail. Great way to experience Dunedin and the surrounding area.

The Trail was very close to the resort we stayed at in Dunedin. It is a paved, very well maintained trail that is utilized by bike riders, walkers and joggers. The trail goes right through downtown Dunedin and there are numerous bike racks available to lock bikes up for a stop at one of the many restaurants or shops. Many areas are shaded which is really nice when it is sunny outside. Only wish they had something like this where we live.

My wife and I rented bikes and enjoyed this trail starting and ending in Dunedin. We also walked the trail. It has nice views, parks, and restaurants/cafes along the trail.

My son and I grabbed some $8 tickets and decided to watch the ballgame. It's was easy parking, walkable to the restaurants, cold beer, lots of baseball foodie options and the stadium was so clean. Best of all, you can drive your golf cart to the stadium, what more could you ask for?

You can bike or walk this long trail that connects the whole waterfront area. Wide sidewalk, so enough room for bikes and walkers. Beautiful scenery.

The best way to know the area and beyond. Now that Dunedin has expanded, you have trail entrances to bars and restaurants! Organized and people are very respectful of the trail rules.

Thanks to the Pinellas Trail, we enjoy our biking again. We bike between Palm Harbor & Dunedin so far. The trail is well maintained and runs about 47 miles in total. Never experienced a trail like this before. Nice & smooth too. Have a great time. We love it.
Cheers! -------- Ken

thank god they arrested this drug dealing pimp that lives on 3091 PARK LANE
my children and there friends would play ball on the street and
this pimp dealer would yell at them because cars are pulling up every
15min while hes standing on the crib dealing
keep up the good work

Amazing resturant, food was excellent, they actually have a pool that you can swim in, they have live music in the afternoon, prices were very reasonable, the the menu was fromm sandwichs to a main course.

My kind of town..... Clean, friendly, warm, community water access parks and piers. It preserves much along the Gulf for people to come enjoy without a pricetag attached. Dunedin Beach, Honeymoon island, Caladesi State Park, and our downtown is the go to tourist destination for food, party , festivals and beauty.

This is a nice very long trail. It is well paved and there are facilities along the way as it goes through towns and cities. Like most trails in Florida, there is really no significant elevation.

The Pinellas Trail is a great way to get out for exercise and sightseeing with endless miles of enjoyment.

This is one of the best bike and walking paths I have been on.It is safe and goes through great places.

This is a nice trail mainly for biking that runs north-south along the western edge of the Pinellas County mainland. The street crossings are clearly marked for riders and motorists, although with any trail intersecting traffic a great deal of caution is required. Some portions of the trail that run through Clearwater are a bit seedy and I always carry a canister of mace in a visible and accessible pocket on my handlebar just in case -- I've encountered a number of suspicious characters over the years, but so far no bad encounters as I speed up and the visible mace container may serve as a bit of dissuader.

The rails to trails program shines here. Numerous trail heads with great parking, bike shops along the way and restaurants if you need to rehydrate.

Bring your bikes. This trail is fantastic. We stayed in Dunedin for 4 days and the car wasn't used a lot. The trail, however, was.

The pinellas trail backs up to my house. It's an old railway made into a trail for walking, biking, skateboarding, roller blading .... anything non electrical. Great plus for getting from town to town in a healthy manor off the main roads or sidewalk. Natural setting and restaurants along the trail in Dunedin.

We walked about 3 miles of the trail at sunset, through the town of Dunedin. This section of the trail is mostly shaded. Close to town restaurants are accessible from the trail. Views of the sun setting from Weaver Park were amazing. The trail is divided for walkers & joggers and bicyclists. There is a safety crossing with strong blinking lights to cross SR580.
Definitely want to hike more of this amazing trail!
Highly recommend this trail which is actually 53 miles long! (I think!)

We stopped by at walked it while in Dunedin. Thriving with people and lots of little places to pause and refresh--pubs, restaurants, and parks if you are on it in the Dunedin area.

When visiting the Clearwater area, I generally will bring my bike and ride the trail in the mornings, staying at a hotel fairly close to the trail for easier access. Be prepared for lots of stops as you cross streets as well as the climbs on the overpasses. All in all a nice path for a walk or bike ride.

We have used this trail for years every spring for spring training very smooth, meet nice people much better than a side walk tons of birds and plants to experience. We feel very safe on it .

I recently took the Pinellas Trail from our condo to the fitness Center (only about 2+ miles) but thoroughly enjoyed it. I understand it’s about 38 miles or so long and reaches from
Clearwater to Tarpon Springs. The trail itself is paved and busy in some areas, but not in others. Some areas have the huge trees canopying it, others not. I crossed a couple of bridges to get to my destination and could see large fish in the water. I would have liked to have taken the trail from Dunedin to Tarpon Springs but didn’t get to do it. I understand there are several stops/restaurants along the way. Very disapponted I didn’t get to take a longer ride but would definitely recommend it to others.

This is a GREAT place to roller blade, walk, bike ride and rum. We have done them all. It's a long trail so you just have to pick the part you want to enjoy.

Beautiful rides from Tarpon Springs to St Pete. All paved and winding through some of the best town the Gulf Coast of Florida has to offer. Get a bike, and discover the best side of Florida!

What a great asset for the area - miles of safe travels for walking or biking.any time of the day. Well maintained and you can stop at some cafes along the path and have a quick refreshment or bit to eat. This is a great opportunity to meet locals and people spending some time in the area. Everyone is always comparing notes on good restaurants and great places to visit.

The Pinellas County Trail stretches over 35 miles and touches many of the great communities in the area. It is always active with those taking a hike of casual biking.

The Pinellas trail is paved and flat. It extends north and south as far as you can exercise or as little in my case. Caution, it crosses roads and drivers need to yield for pedestrians and bikers. It was wonderful to be in a place that had a walk score of 10. Walk to a nearby watering hole and walk home! This community of Dunedin has it all for sunlovers.

Every year when we come to Dunedin we walk the trail every day. It's a beautiful and social way to get your daily walk in. Safe and full of friendly walkers, cyclists and skaters. Beautifully lined with trees, flowers and other greenery, shops, restaurants and even the back of a primate sanctuary at one point. A definite must if you have a chance.

This trail runs from the north of Pinellas County right to St Petersburg. Ideal for cycling but can be used for any non-motorised transport in short stretches or long. I cycled the whole trail. it is beautifully maintained, with water stations, maintenance stations, benches, signalled crossings for major roads. There are a number of bike shops that do rentals right on the trail and some good places to eat particularly in the Northern section. The trail ends about a mile from the Dali Museum in St Petersburg, worth visiting. The city itself is very cycle friendly and has lots of art and craft shops. Highly recommended.

This is a great trail to cycle at your pace, very wide with separate path for foot traffic. Most people are good to stay to one side, but others are just oblivious and take the entire path. This is where a bell is handy. The path is very smooth and well maintained at most areas. You can cycle from St. Petes to Tarpon Springs. The trail does cross residential street with some 4 way stops.

I have been in this part of Florida many times and have walked the trail many times. It is something I enjoy doing. There are places along the trail where you can stop for refreshments if you need hydrating. I always spend time walking along the trail it is good exercise.

The Pinellas Trail is paved over what was once a railroad track. You can find history about the railroad in the museum in downtown Dunedin.
If you like to rollerblade or bike long distances, the Pinellas trail is a must. If you like to walk or jog, keep to your right, as the bikers will be passing you on the pft and they are travelling pretty fast.
I see people with strollers on there all the time and often, the strollers have small dogs in them. Our town is not referred to as "Dogedin" for nothing. The trail is a great place to walk your dog, but please pick up after your pets! There are a few pet plastic bag stands in the trail, but not enough, so please bring your own.
Be really, really careful crossing the streets that the trail intersects. A couple of bikers have been killed and some have been injured. They don't like to stop at every street they intersect and most streets have stop signs on both the trail and the street. A lot of bikers "train" on the trail and I can understand how stopping would defeat the purpose, but at least look both ways before you barrel through.
Do not go on the trail after dark. It is against the law (it is considered a state park), but it's also dangerous. There have been some robberies, a couple of rapes and a murder, that I know of. It's perfectly safe in the day hours. I use it all the time. My husband and I love the Pinellas Trail!

We use this all the time to ride from Tarpon Springs to Clearwater. Best way to get there. Usually very little traffic.

My husband rode the trail from Clearwater north almost 18 miles to Tarpon Springs one day, then from Clearwater south to St Pete (17+ miles) two days later and enjoyed both rides, especially the northern route.

Fantastic trail system along an old railway line.
Beautiful trail. Be careful through some parts of Clearwater, south of Dunedin, however as trail goes through some bad areas. All in all however a real jem of Pinellas County.

This is just part of a long trail that is well marked, very good surface and bridges over the busiest roads. Drive a mile or 50 miles if you want. Excellent asset for the area and Largo and Clearwater and St Petersburg

The Pinellas Trail now stretches for miles across several towns throughout the county. In Dunedin it meanders through some quite neighborhoods as well. It is lightly traveled and in good shape. Great for a walk, bike ride or run.

We are a family of five.... 39, 34, 15, 11 & 9 years old.
The trail is really well maintained and is a great way to see some of Florida you'd never get to see whilst driving.
Very flat and easy to ride. Most of the path is away from roads but there are some sections you need to ride along busy roads.
Would recommend.

We biked north from Dunedin to Palm Harbor. Nice easy ride but mostly along streets and highways. Expect to stop at a lot of intersections.

What an awesome idea. I grew up riding my bike all along the Pinellas trail, riding/walking to elementary school right off the trail. As I grew up, I never strayed far - my wife and I would walk our dogs on the trail and hung out at an awesome conservation park off the trail in Palm Harbor. Some things never get old.

We walk/run this trail frequently - we love it! It's 30 miles long, clean, well kept. The trail takes you right through the town of Dunedin. There are frequent events going on in town - farmer's markets, festivals, music, celebrations. Love this town!

Great biking and walking trail that runs right through the heart of Dunedin- take the trail to get downtown to the senior center to the local library or even to a Blue Jays game.

Wonderful Trail. I've been using it since it was opened. Great way to stay in shape. I use it for walking, biking and inline.

The trail is great for biking, walking, running and just seeing all of Pinellas County. Rode bikes from Dunedin to Clearwater beach and back and it's so nice!! The trail is wide and is used by people of all ages!!!

We used a little bit of this trail for walking and enjoyed it. It’s not on the water but still a nice path.

Excellent paved biking on the Pinellas Trail! Cruise through small towns and villages, stop to sample the local flavor and enjoy the views as you pedal.

45 Mile trail from St. Pete’s to Tarpon Springs going through the city, the suburbs, small towns and parks. Lot of interesting things to see and do

We road from the trailhead in Tarpon Springs down to the southern limit of Dunedin. The trail was lightly traveled and in excellent shape. Many stretches had pedestian walkways separted from bike lanes. There were a lot of street crossings but most were minor roads with little car traffic.
Lots of interesting places to take a break or grab a meal. Recommended!

Stayed in Beso Del Sol Resort in Dunedin and used the trail to walk to the center of town. It is obviously well maintained.

We had dinner with friends family at Downtown and the walk to the Bay was Nice and Quiet.Kids had a great Time at the Icecream place and so many Beautiful Houses on the Water. Walk along the bayshore is Romantic and peaceful.

From St. Petersburg to past Tarpon Springs. Best part is north of Dunedin as there are less cross streets. Downtown Clearwater winds around but is clearly marked. Past Tarpon Springs it's more open and hilly, not as scenic.

We rode the trails almost daily for 2 weeks. From Dunedin to Tarpon Spring is a really nice section of the trail.

We like to check out bike trails in Florida when we are traveling and I had read about this one. We did the northern portion of this one as I had read that the Southern end was not as scenic. As with most FLA trails, its quite flat. Still, enjoyable. Wide and well maintained. Winds thru several small towns. Not terribly crowded when we were there.

What a treat to travel along the Pinellas Trail! You can ride through green spaces, to marinas, through shopping areas, pubs, and restaurants. Ride a while, then stop to eat lunch, have coffee, grab an ice cream cone or beer, depending on your preference. You can ride for miles or yards and find something interesting along the way. We shared the trail with kids on trikes, leisure bikers, serious bikers, joggers, walkers, and roller-bladers, It's an incredible resource for the community.

Wife and I rented bikes at Kafe Racer in Dunedin (nice 7 speed bikes, nice price for 1/2 day; check out (kaferacer.com/). You can make your reservation on-line.
We rode from Dunedin to Clearwater Beach. Trail is almost completely flat except for the causeway and crossed only one major street. Most drivers observe the crossing signs and are very courteous and stop to let you cross.
The tough part was getting thru Clearwater and then up and across the causeway to the beach. We missed a sign and ended up riding on city sidewalks. Get a good MAP before you start riding - my phone's Google Map wasn't as helpful as I hoped.
We walk a lot, but pedaling a bike is a lot different. Still, we highly recommend doing the trail.

We rode from Dunedin to Honeymoon Island on a beautiful day. The trail is well maintained and plenty of space for two-way bikes and peds.

Our month long Dunedin stay in March included everyday bicycle rides on this trail. It was relatively busy with walkers (many, many with dogs) and bikers on weekends near Dunedin, Tarpon Springs and Clearwater but the longer stretches were great. The trail goes through some streets with heavier traffic, but all locations have crossing buttons. All curbs are handicap/bicycle friendly. After riding in the same area for a few days, we loaded up the bikes and drove 20 miles away and took the trail in other direction. We also have ridden it in St Petersburg area. The trails are well maintained and wide enough for passing. Many areas are shaded which was nice in the Florida heat.

Lovely protected place to walk or ride you bike. Cars and electric bikes are not permitted. Nice things to see along the way.

The Pinellis Trail is a walking, bike riding safe trail that can take you from Tarpon Springs to Clearwater. You can hop on and off all along the trail, for parks, restaurants and other attractions along the way. It is a repurposed rail bed, well maintained, lots of shade. There are several places along the trail to rent bikes if you did not come down here with your own.

We rented ebikes in Dunedin and rode to tarpon springs for lunch and window shopping. The trail is wide and very smooth, all kinds of pubs and restaurants along the way. They have repair stations along the path for adjusting your bike, I believe the trail goes from St Petersburg area all the way up in to tarpon springs.

Nice for a leisurely stroll or a fast paced bike ride . Just make sure you are aware of others . It can get a little congested.

Great riding trail. This trail is well maintained. Most intersections are four way stops for bikes and cars. We rode from Dunedin to Tarpon Spring was a very enjoyable ride.

Very nice trail to bike or walk, paved and plenty wide to accommodate bikers and walkers. Places to stop and eat or drink along the way.

The section from Dunedin to Tarpon Springs is somewhat busy, not so much after Tarpon Springs. There are lots of options for food and drinks, as well as restrooms. The trail is 100% paved and is in good to very good shape. It is also mostly flat.

We rode from Dunedin to Tarpon Springs. Mostly flat. Lots of people using the trail, but most people remembered their trail manners. Many of the intersections are heavy with traffic, but they all have crossing lights.

The trail is close to home and I love it. Riding from downtown St. Pete All the way to north Pinellas county with some nice tree canopy providing shade. Occasional bike repair and water stations. Great resource!

We began in Dunedin and rode bikes to Largo. The ride is pretty flat and easy. The view is not as good as going north from Dunedin. Since it is a trail that was once train tracks, the trails show you the backs of many businesses. The trail crosses many side streets so there are quite a few stop signs. It is good for exercise. In Dunedin there are cafes that are good for a snack break.

Buddy and I down for spring training rented a couple of bicycles to get around between the hostel, restaurants and stadium. Was a great way to get around and not have to deal with the traffic and parking.

This lovely trail is wide, mostly flat and car free. It boasts plenty of trees, cafes, breweries and restaurants along the way. It’s a terrific way to get around Dunedin!

We drove 1.5 hours to go biking on this trail and it was fine for exercise but there’s not much that’s nice to see and a lot that is not so nice, like being next to a busy road and a lot of strip malls. We rode from Dunedin to Wall Springs Park and then biked on a trail in that park for another mile each way. All in 14 miles round trip. The section before the park and inside were very nice. The rest was just ok. Path is well paved and wide. Encountered a tortoise on the way too.

We love this trail. Just went a portion (25 miles) from Dunedin to Tarpon Springs. Did 44 miles in 2010. We are older and slower but it doesn't matter because we are still pedaling!

We have been taking the trail for years now. We used to bike it, and now I'm walking and running. It is great in this area and north. I haven't traveled south. I noticed a lot more places open to the trail where you can stop and rest, get a drink or a bite to eat. Great trail!

Probably my favorite trail ever. So much to see and check out. Bars and restaurants along the way. Adorable houses and fancy beach homes. Water along the way and beautiful place to see sunsets. Would recommend going during the day and not so much after dark. Never had any problems but can see how there might be in some areas. Fun activity for any one and any age!

In Dunedin on vacation and our condo is very near this trail. It is wide and very easy to bike or walk. Goes through town with restaurants welcoming guests and beautiful trees line the path.

This is a great place to walk or bicycle ride. No motor vehicles or electrical vehicles (golf carts) are allowed. This trail stretches from one part of Pinellas to the other end and is about 40 miles long, so whether you want to go from Dunedin to Tarpon Springs or just bike over to the Bluejays Spring training stadium It’s a great path to get you somewhere or just for exercise and fresh air.
The locals would appreciate if you would pick up any of your garbage and pet waste and not dispose of it on the trail or leave it for someone else to pick it up. This helps keep the trail beautiful so we can all enjoy it.
This trail closes at dusk; it is NOT lighted and even if you have a bike with a light you cannot be on it after dark.
Take the trail to downtown Dunedin and visit the local merchants and restaurants. You won’t be disappointed.

Its always a relaxing feeling when I first ride my bike on the trail. Cars are usually always aware of me, and give me the right of way. Mostly from Gulf to Bay up to Tarpon Springs, its clean and well kept. Only setback is the bridge over to Orange Street, Palm Harbor has been shut down for over a year. But the rest is smooth sailing. Great way to see the eating / drinking establishments along the way !

Love, love being on this biking and walking trail! Locals respect the stop signs and right of ways, traffic lights set up for bikers too! Nicely paved, goes for many miles.

This is a trail that goes on forever. I take my dog walking every day there and you don’t have to worry about traffic. Many people ride their bikes on it also. The trail takes me to the center of Dunedin. It is also clean. People are also very friendly and acknowledge you when you walk by them.

The trail is clean and smooth. It only has a few bridges with an incline. Lots of spots to stop and eat or drink and a few repair shops along the way if needed. I tend to ride the area from Clearwater north to Tarpon Springs. But from time to time south to St. Pete.

I stay in Pinellas County regularly and I've wanted to walk or bike the trail but just hadn't gotten around to it. Finally this weekend I did and I got to experience one of the best parts, Dunedin. The trail runs right through the center of the town and there is lots to see and do there. Being a gorgeous Saturday there were folks all over it and bikes all over Dunedin. This little taste of the trail has inspired me to bike (or walk) the entire forty-seven miles soon.

We ride from Molly Goodheads, where we had a great lunch, to Dunedin and back. The trail is so nice and cared for. Good scenery, a little bit of exertion required to get over the bridge, and intermittent shade. It's a very biker friendly area where cars give bikers the right of way when you have a street to cross.

Mile 1 starts in St Pete and goes to Tarpon Springs. Great for biking, walking, skating! Section through Dunedin is awesome - shops, restaurants, breweries. Trail is well maintained and water stops along the way!

great space to have some travel options and Dunedin down town breweries.lots of bycycles and walkers,, busier on week end but awesome exercise,,

We love using this trail to walk from our hotel to dinner or the stadium to watch Blue Jays in spring training. People are so friendly and area always greeting you. You can bike or walk, and the trail is sometimes together, sometimes separated by method of locomotion. It is clean and quite shady.

We don't like riding our bikes on the road, too many distracted drivers (sad). Fortunately we are blessed to have the Pinellas trail in our backyard. We generally ride from Tarpon Springs to Crystal Beach picking up family along the way in Palm Harbor. The trail is nice and wide and most important safe. We plan to explore further south in the future.

This is the second trip we've made to this area to cycle on the Pinellas Trail. We found the trail to be beautiful, extremely safe, and close to amenities desired by most cyclists. We particularly enjoyed the trail north of Clearwater, with Dunedin being a highlight. We also did the spur out to Honeymoon State Park. There is a great cycling path there as well within the park.
There are very detailed maps available online through the Rails-to-Trails website. However the trail itself is easy to follow. There are many places to rent bikes for the day in Dunedin.
It's rare to enjoy such carefree cycling in an urban area. The Pinellas Trail is a great destination for those who enjoy good food, craft beer, and idyllic surroundings.

Wife and rented bikes and went for a ride. Trail was awesome, people who live here are lucky to have something so nice. I loved riding the trail.

What a gorgeous, gorgeous trail. We were camping in Tarpon Springs and made use of this trail often, for both running and biking. So many cool things to see along the way, and I loved going through the small towns and seeing all the breweries, restaurants, etc. The trail is well kept and was very busy! What a gem!

Out on the trail this weekend! With the weather cooling down the trails is heating up. Lots of people enjoying the beauty of the trail. Get out there and enjoy it!

Visiting friends here in Clearwater. I'm from NW Indiana. Clearwater area is crowded but discovering this little gem helped restore the calm. Nicely marked. Sidewalk paths leading to trail are wonderful. Great experience!

A 38-mile paved trail which runs from Tarpon Springs in the North to St. Petersburg in the South. Popular with hikers, bikers, and runners. Whether you are out for a quick 30-minute morning walk, a more intense longer run, or 35-mile bike ride the trail is perfect. The trail connects several parks, scenic areas, and gulf communities. Over and Underpasses provide safe travel through heavy traffic areas, but there are still sections of the trail that cross roads and caution is required. For those interested, there are many little shops and cafes along the trail. The Dunedin section of the trail offers some of the nicest.

The Pinellas Trail is a gem for walking, biking, running, bird watching and many great places to stop and enjoy life along the way, whether you're solo, couple, or family and friends.

Walked on this trail in Dunedin. I’m very jealous of this and wish we had similar. So convenient to various stops along the way.

Great scenic route for exercise especially the Dunedin causeway! Smell the salt air and feel the breeze...just an enjoyable walk or bike ride.

We rented bikes and rode this trail during the day. It is nicely done and plenty wide to accommodate bikers and walkers. We got off the trail and went through Palm Harbor and rode across the causeway, which was really neat. Highly recommend for couples and families!

Started the trail In St. Pete and ended in Holiday Florida what a great ride. It has overpass bridges to cross the major roads and crosswalks for all other streets that people actually stop for riders. Dunedin right on the trail is a great little town to stop and have lunch on the water.

Bike riders dream, plenty of places to stop, flat and long... Clearwater was little crowded, has to cross some busy streets but the state has set up a bike crosswalk where traffic must stop!!! I'd get run over in Connecticut

The Pinellas Trail connects cities north from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs. Along the way there are several traffic bridges that can provide a cumulative workout. In the area around Clearwater there is some exposure to traffic, including numerous at grade street crossings. The condition of the trail is generally good. There is one more recently paved stretch on the north end of Dunedin that will provide the illusion that there is a tire problem on high pressure road bike tires, but it is only variation in the pavement. Dunedin is a popular destination for lunch and small shops. The area around Dunedin can be congested on nice days. There are public restrooms just south of Main Street in Dunedin.

Nice surface, clean ,well-marked. People are very nice about stopping their cars at the road intersections and smiling as we pass. We rode to ClearwAter and avoided all the car traffic.
Rental bikes from Kafe Racer were well adjusted and cheap!

Rented a bike and did a couple of 30-mile rides. The trail is great but the markings for pedestrians in both directions to be on one side is just confusing to everyone. When I was on a bike I it felt funny and when we were walking in town bikers on rented bikes complained about people walking in the middle.

The Pinellas Trail goes right thru downtown Dunedin Florida. Many people walk the trail with their family or you can ride a bike on it.

This is a beautiful biking, walking, hiking, dog-walking trail through and winding through Pinellas county. The trail is 47 miles long, with a number of County, City and State parks along its route.

The trail is about 1 1/2 miles form our house. As an avid cyclist it is something which I use almost every day when we are staying at our Florida home. The trail is wide enough to accommodate cyclist traveling in both directions and it also has a separate trail for walkers and joggers. The total length is over 40 miles and it passes through a number of interesting communities where one can stop for a bite to eat or a drink or perhaps to enjoy a festival or a concert. One of the best thing about Pinellas county.

Our Hotel was very close to the Trail and supplied free bikes. Only a mile to Dunedin downtown. Lot of fun to ride to town and lock up bikes and walk around. After driving from NJ to FL it was very nice not to drive. Upon our next visit we would ride much further. Nicely paved and very picturesque and safe.
Enjoy your ride!

One of my favorite bike rides is to set off from Dunedin and ride to Clearwater Beach. The trail is beautiful around Dunedin, riding through the town/tourist area, to include several restaurants. The trail offers a very diverse landscaping from incredible pines, ferns, and mango -- and is mostly shaded until you get closer to Clearwater. If you're adventurous park at the north end of CWB and hike the beach to Caladesi - not to mention the many attractions of CWB itself..

What a great way to see Dunedin Fl. Visit Rick's bike shop in town, and rent electric bike for $25 dollars for the day, he is awesome, and the towns are super bike friendly. I love it here

I've done a few, and this one is great. Lots of services and dead flat (mostly). Downtown Dunedin is really special, as are Wall Springs Park, and Tarpon Springs.

Great trail to ride for long or short distances. Safe, clean and many places to stop for a drink, bite to eat as well as a couple of bike shops along the trail.

This trail is the best! We bike from Dunedin to Tarpon Springs and back, and it is a lot of fun. Many others feel likewise as it is quite popular.

One can bike up and down the Pinellas Trail, staying at lodging along the trail, eating at restaurants along the trail, and visiting towns along the trail. There is so much to see and do right on the trail, in addition to the helpful people along the way. Never a dull moment!

At the time of writing - December 2022 - the trail actually runs from downtown St Petersburg on 1st Avenue and 1st Street to just beyond East Lake Road beyond Tarpon Springs. At this point the marked trail ends, but cycle lanes are available albeit on the edge of multi lane roads. In total about 45 marked miles from St Pete to East Lake Road. Do not believe any of the other numbers put out there on the web.
From downtown St Pete the trail goes past the stadium, through the warehouse district, St Pete suburbs, through Seminole, Largo, Belleaire, Clearwater, Dunedin, Palm Harbor and onto Tarpon Springs. Downtown St Pete has well marked (and separated) cycle lanes, Seminole has lots of bridges - and yes, these add quite a lot of effort to the ride. Water fountains are plentiful along the way at this end of the trail, less so as you head north. The best bits are through Dunedin with breweries and restaurants on the trail and up on to Tarpon Springs where the trail runs down the center of the street.
The trail can be ridden on road bikes or anything more durable and has a 20 mph speed limit for ebikes.

You can go north or south on the trail for miles and it is just beautiful. We rented a tandem bike from Kafe Racer (right on the trail at Skinner Road in Dunedin), and had an absolute blast. People use the trail for cycling and walking and there are people of all ages and abilities. There is lots to see along the trail. Autos are respectful and stop for you when you approach a road crossing. Everyone is so friendly along the trail. It's a beautiful way to spend a few hours.

Take your bike for a long, long ride in the beautiful Pinellas scenery. Along the way you will find fine restaurants to refresh and eat.

Can't be in this part of the world without a trek on this trail! It's fairly flat, but offers a bit of a work out on a windy day. There is plenty to see along the way, the crosswalks are well marked and safe crossing, however, the big bridge across US19 (south of Tarpon Springs) is currently closed, the best and safest way to cross this multi lane highway. The crosswalk has a stop button and is safe for crossing. Too bad the choice was made for an economical steel that didn't last very long, it's a large structure that will be costly and timely to repair/replace. Meanwhile, enjoy the views along the way, along with a few brewpubs just off the trail! There is also the Waste Water Treatment and Reclamation Facility which is an interesting and clean bathroom stop with an educational twist!

Clean and safe! Access to shopping and eating, plenty of bicycle parking. Cyclists and walkers have the right of way in the cross walks.

A great bike/pedestrian trail that runs from Tarpon Springs South to St. Petersburg. We reside on the north end (Palm Harbor). Bike this trail year around, usually between Clearwater and Tarpon Springs. Nice day ride that includes trail side cafe's, rental bike locations, wonderful small towns and neighborhoods. Great way to spend a day.

We rode our bikes from Tarpon Springs to Clearwater (and back). Very pleasant and easy trail ride. Stop in Dunedin for a fun walkabout.

Whether you bike, inline skate, run, walk or use a wheel chair, you must check out the Pinellas Trail, one of the nicest "bike trails" anywhere. While it runs many, many miles, 44 to be exact, the highlight is that it runs through the quaint town of Dunedin and offer easy access to the causeway to Honeymoon Island SP. Personally I have skated from Palm Harbor as far south as downtown Clearwater. Terrific!!

The Pinellas trail is a huge rails to trails project that is currently around 49 miles but the plans are to expand it to around 80. The only reason the trail does not get 5 is that it crosses many roads that a cyclist has to stop for. This trail is used as a commuting trail for many businesses and schools and it sees a ton of use.
I use this trail for cycling and it can take you to many great places for fun and adventure.
The trail goes thru the heart of Dunedin which has many great restaurants and shops right next to it. It does the same as it goes thru Tarpon Springs. Passing bike shops and cafe's and the downtown shopping district. It runs right up to Wall Springs park and thru or along many other parks and that's just in the upper areas that I am familiar with The trail has bike maintenance stations at varying intervals along with water bottle filling stations.
The Suncoast Primate Sanctuary is right on the trail and they have a walkway that you can walk up to their fence and view a few of their chimpanzee's from about 10 yards away.
You get everything on this trail from hard corp road cyclist to the families walking their dogs and jogging with the babies in the stroller. Most of the folks are quite friendly and you find yourself saying "hi" a lot while going along the trail.

Great well maintained trail that just keeps on going. I rode from Tarpon Springs to St. Pete and back on a 60 mile bicycle ride for my 60th Birthday! Came to the West side of the state from the East Coast where the Coast to Coast Bike Trail will one day connect the two. Had a great safe ride. Will have to come back when it isn't so hot like it is in August!

There is a section from Sunset Point Rd in Clearwater going south, that isn't really scenic but still a great ride or walk, but going north there are great places to stop along the way, either to walk around, play in a park, eat, ect. This trail is great to walk, bike, run, rollerblade/skate. Parts of it are lined by trees, homes with interesting back yards, with a few areas where there is access to public restrooms. You can easily leave the trail in some parts to ride bikes to beaches, especially in the more northern parts, like Clearwater.

very clean, nice landscaping along the trail. It was nice to walk along the trail, visit some shops and take a break in a few of the parks.

Cannot say enough about the trail system. It has everything you need. Wide enough that you never feel cramped, enough connectors you can get to just about anywhere, and nice white PVC posts to warn of any pending car crossing.
We are able to ride relatively stress free with our young kids. Simply teach them to stop any time they see the white PVC posts and they can ride pretty freely.
There are multiple water stops directly on the trail. It also passes through a number of small town downtowns that cater to the biking scene. People on the trail seem pretty friendly as well. Dog walkers we have come across take care to not have leashes extended across the trail without paying attention and bikers seem considerate as well.
I have seen maintenance crews working to clean up, trim, or otherwise maintain the trail system.
For major intersections there are usually at a minimum great crosswalks. However, for US19 the trail typically goes over or under the road saving you any sort of delay or risk with a major road like that.
Highly recommend. Especially the northern half from Dunedin up to Tarpon Springs.

Excellent trail! Stayed in Duneden and biked to Tarpon Springa, Honeymoon Honeymoon Island. trail runs behind the Holiday
Inn Duneden.
Nicely paved, secluded and divided for walkers and bikers.

Over a long period of time, we have done the entire Pinellas Trail in twenty mile chunks. The best parts are the Northern parts and maybe the far Southern part. Between Clearwater and St Pete there is a lot of congestion and overpasses. We believe that the best ride is to start in Dunedin and go North, then turn at Curlew and bike to Honeymoon Island. Then you can just turn around or you can walk the Osprey Trail or go to a beach. Then return to Dunedin for lunch or dinner.

Love this trail. There are many roads to cross but the drivers are extremely courteous to trail traffic. There are plenty of side roads, food places and parks to enjoy. Glad our daughter moved half block from entering trail-will travel often.

Great way to get from Dunedin to Honeymoon Island. Friday was great. Saturday was way too crowded. When we neared the island there were lots of places to stop and rest. Wish there were benches closer to town.

A great trail running along the bay, it is fun to bike or walk, though a bike allows you to travel much further, of course. We went on it several times, once bikng from Dunedin over the causeway to Honeymoon Island.

The Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail is a rail trail in Pinellas County, Florida. It stretches from Tarpon Springs in the north to St. Petersburg in the south, passing through the towns of Palm Harbor, Dunedin, Clearwater, Largo, Seminole, South Pasadena, and Gulfport. It is utilized for walking, jogging, cycling, and inline skating. It is just over 38miles long from end to end. There are lots of opportunities to just do sections of the trail...it is NOT a loop so you will have cover the same path to and from. There are sections that get crowded on the weekends but generally there is plenty of room . It passes through many town areas (like Dunendin) so you can stop and get refreshed. The trail roughly follows Alt 19 and you don't really see much water except for a few spots. In answered yes to the questions abouts food, bars, etc. as there are many places where these are available....although there are stretches where there are none of these things.
I have walked the trail for over five years to improve my health as well to loose weight. The trail is peaceful i have met so many nice people while walking over the years. If the regulars don't see you for a while they ask where have you been. Its like a family out on the trail everyone watches out for one another.
