I have lived here 18 months and never knew about this place. I went last weekend for mothers day
And what a hidden gem. They public beach is small but well maintained. There is bathrooms, covered tables and a nice place ground for the kids. It is on Charlotte harbour and the wave don't beat you down. You have to pay for parking but it is cheap. I think it is $0.75 a hour. Parking is close and easy to get in and out.
We like it because the beach is nice and quiet .NoW, the water is not crystal clear but is clean. If you want
That type of beach that would be siesta key or engelwood . If you want to play in the water and have a
Peaceful time in the sun with convenient parking with bathrooms and a shower
This is the place.

Not so clean, but it is a little relaxing. The homes around the park are so beautiful. Sometimes during the evening this beach can attract some very unsavory characters so safety should be a concern. Don't expect to swim because the water is not clean and there are alot of barnacles.

When we went on vacation this was the closest beach and when we got there the water was a funny red color. After talking to the locals the water in the whole bay is this weird red color caused from some plant. We went to Boca Grande on the point and it was red on one side and ocean color on the other side. We rented a pontoon boat and returned it early because nobody wanted to swim in the water. Very disappointing!

Take a break from driving and catch your wind at this lovely park. There are restroom facilities and vendors selling refreshments. Oftentimes, there are musical events or parties to add to the festivities.

clean nice beach area,
usually a ice cream vender, maybe a hotdog vender.
nice causal place
amply parking close to beach
bring your own chairs

great place to take the family too first time to see the place and was surprised that it was not too crowed

Wonderful quiet secluded little beach with boat ramp, swimming pool, bocci ball, tennis courts, children's playground, swimming pool. Great place for a walk, for a swim, for fishing or just sitting and relaxing. The parking is a bit tight.

Great place to hang out and enjoy the view. Pool access for a few dollars. Wonderful beach and picnic area.

The park has everything you would expect to find in a park and maybe a little more. It features swimming, boating, a fishing pier, picnic tables, several ball courts for tennis and Bocce and often there is a hot dog vendor. An activity building is present that can be rented for meetings, weddings, etc. There is a parking fee of $2.00 unless you have a handicap sticker in which case it's free.
There are two places to swim. The pool is cozy and will cost you $2.68 to use it, or you can swim in Charlotte Harbor. The harbor is formed by the converging of the Peace and Myackka Rivers as they enter the Gulf of Mexico. It is brackish water and the home of many aquatic species that some people may not be comfortable with.
This is a great place where local people picnic, launch boats, fish and just get together. There is nothing really unique about it and probably not a "must see" for tourists unless they are in the mood for some swimming.

Great view of Charlotte Harbor! Has a neat wooden fishing pier that is awesome for fishing, meditating or watching sunsets.

This park was surprisingly nice. Picnic areas, things to do, boat launch, along with a pool. There is a small fee for the pool and it closed the minute some rain went through. It did not reopen while we were there despite the rain stopping. Many enjoyed just swimming in the river.

just drove thru. looked at sunset. unable to walk due to elderly mother with us. no c/o of loaction..

Do not go here, you will be disappointed. Their is debris everywhere and grass and other
junk on this beach. The FIRE ANTS on this beach will get you, as of yesterday I found a mound the hard way hidden by the grass on the beach. This was on the west side
very close to the boardwalk and only 10 feet from water. The east side is just as bad and
will be taken over by grass and ants. They spent millions on the boardwalk/pier and yet
let the beach turn into worse mess I have ever seen. Oh yeah, calling this a beach is a
stretch. Check it out......you be the judge, every word here that I have typed is FACT.

We loved sitting on the beach we collected some sea shells took a little sand. It was very relaxing. I enjoyed watching my grand daughter play in the water she had a blast . Looking forward to going back next year.

For years we have been taking our dog to walk the park. We never took him on the beach because it's not allowed. Every other day we go and sit in the shelter with him. Which we were told by the parks dept was ok as long as he's not on the beach. We would Take a lunch. He's 13 and very quiet. Now all of a sudden today we are told he isn't allowed in there. Will never go there anymore. Plus they need to do some work to the beach anyway, it looks like crap with grass growing up in the sand.

I live here so I'm partial......fantastic but tourists should be aware of a couple of items: there is a parking fee, there are days when it's not safe to go into the water due to various alerts such as red tide or rip current warnings and the water is not the crystal clear blue or turquoise or whatever you expected but a tannish brown due to the tannin from the leaves of the abundant vegetation bordering the shores...... still beautiful!

If you have a boat the boat ramp is free but parking is by pay ahead meters
Picnic tables, fishing pier, bocce ( usually busy) short board walk with view of harbor and sunset over Alligator Bay

We are considering moving to this area. One of our reasons is this beautiful park that offers a 180 degree view of the harbor with activities that most anyone will enjoy, most anytime. Play bocce ball on groomed courts. Swim in pool or if you wish, naturally warm, salt water harbor. Sun bathe, celebrate a birthday in the picnic area, launch a boat. A small piece of paradise. Enjoy.

Port Charlotte Beach is small and really at the entrance to the river. There are many more beautiful beaches in the area, that are on Open Water, sandier and long.

This park has an outdoor pool, fishing pier, picnic tables in the shade, restrooms, an office and meeting room, you can put your boat in the water hear. Sand beach with brackish river fresh water and salt water mix. Good for fishing, boating, kids' playground, bocce court and outdoor showers. No food service.

Beach was clean . Water was fantastic and warm. Had lunch and cocktails right across the street at Flounders on the beach

This is a great park, near the water where you can eat and relax as the kids play. The location is great. It's also a boat launch, public pool, great walkway over the Harbor. This is not the Gulf of Mexico, but it's a place to go in Port Charlotte with some sand and so much more to keep a family busy!

If u are looking for sun and a nice place to read...this is good. Used to go and have our breakfast on the beach...not the place for real swimming though.

It's a quiet little beach.. The water was reddish Brown but clear. I wouldn't recommend swimming there. I love the fact that there were grills to cook on..

We didn't even know there was a beach in Port Charlotte so we were surprised to see it on the map. It's a small beach in comparison to others in the SW Florida area.

Nice stretch of beach with practically no-one ever there. Well maintained. Great for sunning and sundown vistas.

Several times lately we have grabbed some take out food and met friends at this pretty park for dinner, then stayed to watch the beautiful sunset. Lots of boating activity, and fishing from the pier. We have launched our kayaks a few times for some fun paddling as well. Great park and beach.

There are plenty of picnic tables but the water is not the best. There are so many fantastic beaches a 40 minutes away that makes this one a waste of time.

This is advertised as a beach, but really it is a park. The water is brown like a canal and doent really move too much. The fishing looks promising and they have nice pavilions for parties. There is basketball, volleyball, kayak rentals, a boat ramp, playground shuffleboard and a pool. It is a nice place to walk around on a sunday. The pool needs some work too. Looks like it is falling apart. I think this place could be a really nice if the county tried to make it more for younger people

I live near this complex. It has a small beach, a boat ramp, meeting rooms, basketball and tennis courts, horse shoes and Bocci Ball. It also has a fishing peer and sandy beach and community swimming pool. Parking is by the hr.

Places like this are why there needs to be something to mark the difference between a "commercial park" and a "public park". This is a commercial park -- an out of the way part of the city with paid parking at all hours (and all days) with on-site vendors. Pass on by... yet a point up for the beautiful landscapes.

This is a pretty fun beach if you don't mind brackish water. Some people hate it - - some people love it!
We always have a fun time here with the kids. We go here to launch Kayaks. The kids play in the water while waiting for their turn to Kayak.
Only down sides are that you have to pay to park. I with they had a hose to wash off Kayaks at the shower stations, but at least they have shower stations!

Really going to miss all the natural beauty port Charlotte beach has to offer. More condos, more people , more problems.

This park is located on right on the water!
There are picnic areas, tennis courts, a fishing pier and a swimming pool
This park is a perfect way to spend a day while in Port Charlotte!
We caught A LOT of snapper off the pier!

If your looking for a really nice uncrowded out of the way spot, it has a lot to offer. Small Beach on the harbor, Boat Ramps, Lighted Fishing Pier, Swimming Pool, covered Picnic areas, Kayak launch, athletics courts, Clean restrooms and plenty of parking. It is dog friendly, except for the beach. Come watch the Sunset with the Locals !

Don't expect perfection. The water is brackish, the beach small and the concessions non existent. Other than that it is a beach. The water is refreshing, the sand warm and you can bring a cooler. This beach also has a boat ramp, a bocci court and a long fishing pier. It also has some covered tables for lunch in the shade. For a day at the beach (that you don't have to spend most of in the car driving) it is close to perfect.

Being Port Charlotte beach is the closest one from our house is a nice place to go and relax.
They have a newer pier you can walk out on checking out the fisherman catching fish.
You can also pay to use their heated pool.

Beautiful views, very clean and lots of parking. You can also fish here. Highly recommend to everyone.

yea, I hate to let this little gem out. Need a beach fix? Right here in little ole Port Charlotte is the beach, palm trees, bocci ball, swimming pool. Aquasize is the best for these old knees now so you can join in. there is a schedule so you'll want to ck on that. t-sat.

Went went treasure hunting with my metal detector, haven't been treasure hunting with my metal detector in about five years. Had some pretty cool finds, one shocking though, found some bullet casings from a 9 millimeter at the end of the beach. Looks like someone was having some fun with the gun. All-in-all not too bad of a find. I did find a 1956 nickel and a bunch of pennies nothing to jump up and down about still had fun love this place. It is a safe beach - small and brackish water... but safe, besides someone shooting a gun from time to time.

Nice to walk around but not much to see. People are friendly. Had chats with the fishermen and bocce ball players. Visited a few times

Fine destination when you're out for a walk, but you won't want to linger because the harbor looks a little, um, polluted.

The park has most everything, pool, boat ramp, picnic tables, tennis court, basketball court. Shade trees, Bathroom facilities, Fishing Pier.

I have always liked Port Charlotte Beach Park. Its not real big, but provides a very nice atmosphere for beach walking, and pier walking and fishing. Play ground for the kids or grandkids. Never over crowded if you go in the evening hours. we always enjoy our visits there.

Great place for walking and taking in the local views. Public pool. Fishing pier. A sailing club was their that day and offered lessons. Shoreline was a little sticky muddy looking. Don't think the pier would be a good place to fish.

great place for a stroll and picnic bench's and picnic tables are available , also a great place for bird watcher's .there's also a playground for children

Don't expect sprawling white sand beaches here. VERY small. Better to drive the half hour to Englewood or hour to FT Myers beaches.

Wish there was more beach area. Beautiful place to watch the sun set! Very quiet and peaceful! Enjoyed my visit.

A great place to go to see the sun set and easily accessible. A nice board walk and pier for the viewing.

We went to this park our first evening in town, nice place for a walk or to relax and watch a beautiful sunset! We saw fish literally jumping out of the water.

Of course, I'm starting the obvious in a joking manner. You'd have to be crazy to swim here, in the filthy bacteria filled peace river. I might let my dog go in if there weren't alligators. If you want to picnic, kayak, or play tennis that's awesome. Also there is a public pool here.

Breathing the ocean air, watching the wide range of birds, and checking out all the shells. Saw a very big fish jump completely out of the water close to us, within 50 yards...

This beach is a hidden gem, great for young kids, no surf or waves, very quiet, has so much to offer for familes, bathroom, showers, a pool, playround, covered picinic area, we enjoyed our afternoon, bring the sunscreen

Nice beach to spend a day lots of tables available. Boating ramps available. Have seen dolphins here

I have been enjoying the pool for several years while I am in FL. Yes, it is quiet, an older crowd, and low-key. If you are looking for cabana boys, drinks with umbrellas, and rowdy pool games, this is not the place for you. If you enjoy a clean pool with locals and snow birds who won't ruin your peaceful day, then you should enjoy this pool. Set your chair to face the water and relax.

Love this little park. Also has swimming pool. You do have to pay to park, but minimal charge. Has a boat ramp.

The beach water is brown. Has a nice pool and it has a nice picnic area. House around this area are nice to look at

First day needed a quick beach to visit and get sunning. Met those qualifications. Retirees and grand kids at beach. Piers look to be brand new and swimming pool looked nice.

Scenic location with various features. Wading beach, fishing pier, boat ramp, basketball and tennis courts, picnic tables. Nice place for families.

Do not listen to some of these reviews… YOU CAN SWIM HERE….. I have for years. It is not perfect powder beach but its a good beach when u do not want a long drive to a coastal one. .

This is a nice little park right on the water. Plenty to do, and the space to do it. Beautiful sunset photos.

Small beach area with lovely park like surroundings and even a pool! We found this little hidden gem and enjoyed watching boats and swimmers. It is a wonderful find. Perfect for families, couples, anyone!!

I lived in PC in the early 80s and visit often to see friends and family.. The PC beach was our place in school our beach with a great public pool and a pretty good dock on sight along with park, concession. Its not the best beach in south west FLA,but it's pretty clean and can be quiet also it has it's good points over a large crowded busy beach.. And nice setting it was redone well and still holds it's charm.

Has a nice pier you can look out onto. It was cloudy, so the water looked black and you couldn't see any marine life. Has little beaches you can go kayaking off of, a bocce ball court, a pool, facilities on site. You have to pay for parking, it was under a dollar for us, but all that money goes right back into the park - what a great idea! The water looked a little scary though....it looked like the dregs of coffee or tea when it washes up on the shore!

As a transplant from Maryland I am used to cookie cutter parks with nothing special to offer and inappropriate fees. Florida is the exact opposite and the Port Charlotte Beach Park is one of the top ten. First the exception: Its on the Peace River which is not a Gin Clear body of water but it is salty and clean. The beach is not crowded and large enough that you can find a peaceful place. Have a boat, you can pull up to the beach without being waved off. It also has two or more boat ramps with minimal if any wait time. You can read all of the amenities on the park's website but what I want to relate is the "vibe". Laid back, not busy, easy access, ample parking and a crowd that is just "hanging out at the beach". If you are looking for a beach/park with waves, shells and limited parking go to Stump Pass Park in Englewood. But, if you want a place close by where you are guaranteed to find a parking spot and you want things to do, for smaller kids, I would recommend Port Charlotte Beach Park.

The beach was convenient to our hotel so we went with friends. The sand is soft and a very short walk to the water but I wouldn’t go in because of the color and seaweed.
We sat at a picnic table and had our lunch. Not many people were there.
Boca grande beach is the best!

The beach and park are always kept clean. lots of picnic tables bring your beach chair and enjoy the fantastic sunset`s

Port Charlotte Beach Park has a little of everything. There is a public swimming pool, a long wharf to walk out on, bocce ball courts, a picnic area, and a beach and swimming area. The beach area is nice although it is not best kept beach area. My grandchildren loved to swim there because we cold sit close to the swimming area and keep an eye on them and they liked that.

Lots of dogs in the evenings leaving presents for beach goers. Popular dog beach
Wouldn’t want my children playing in that sand.

Nice for a quick visit. You could easly spend the day there I feel you wanted to. A nice pool, picnic area and a peer to walk out on to see the waters!

Love the drive to this beautiful beach had a lovely time with my family there! People on the beach were warm and very friendly. The water was calm and inviting. I had a beautiful time with my family. Family is everything!

But if you desire a golf beach, you'll have to drive to Boca Grande, Englewood, Venice, Or Fort Myers Beach. They charge for parking, like all other Charlotte County Parks, I just go to Venice. Definately not the place I want to swim in the water, but if your looking for a short getaway with the kids for an hour or two, its the closest thing we have in Port Charlotte to a beach.

Nice Beach area has a public pool. Pier, picnic areas. Nice area for picnic. We had red tide warnings so beach off limits but still nice to look at

This is a nice place to walk along the white sand or on the boardwalk and take in nature's daily sunset show. When we were there, many people were fisihing off the long pier. We had a wonderful hour enjoying the beach.

your average beach in florida in was raining and we couldn't get in the water also it was red flag day no swimming

We are visiting the US, staying in Punta Gorda and wanted to cool off in the Gulf, and when I saw there was a beach close by, the whole family jumped into the car and drove to Port Charlotte Beach Park.
I had just payed for an hour to park, when my wife notifed me that we cannot swim, due to bacteria in the water. What a dissapointment!
There was just a couple of guys sitting there talking and drinking, not much else going on.

If you are staying in or around Port Charlotte this is a great beach. It’s small but nice and I’ve never seen it crowded but I’m sure it can get busy as it gets warmer out. They have a public heated pool that will cost you $3.00 per person. They also have a Bocce Ball area. This is a fun place for the entire family.

Take time out to visit port Charlotte beaches. Destress and take in the beauty. This is a clean family beach.

The beach isn't pretty. The water is a little murky. But, it has tennis court, boat loading, a pier, picnic tables, restrooms and a swimming pool.

We are retired snowbirds with a house in Punta Gorda, we have many visitors in February and March with small kids 5 to 12 years of age. We have not found a nice beach closed to our home in PGI before however after a lot of searching the Port Charlotte Beach Park was suggested by a friend. This place is really a paradise for old and young, great sandy beach and some great facilities in the park. One disappointment was that the parking was not free. However just 2$ for 3 hours parking, is not too bad.
It is also possible to bring a boat and trailer into the water for fishing or just a relaxed tour.

Brought our chairs to sit on the beach, but changed our minds when we saw how beautiful the pool was ... not crowded at all; seemed to have a vast majority of older folks there to take in the sun and catch up with friends. Unfortunately, it did have it's two resident squawking children. Don't hate kids, but too many parents today seem to be too selfish to understand that not everyone wants to hear constant yelling that seems to represent to them that they are having a great time! There's a shuffle board court, a long pier (from which some folks were fishing and two beautiful sandy beaches. One on each side of the pier. There is a fee for parking and for the pool.

We were disappointed with this beach park. Small and uninviting to the eye. We did not stay. We left and went to Boca Grande. Well worth the added miles(30) and tolls.

What a beautiful space. Located on the Peace River/Charlotte Harbor, this park has many amenities including rest rooms, pavilions, a swimming pool, playground, boat ramps, and a beach! Wonderful scenery and wildlife. Fish off the fishing pier! You can also rent kayaks. We launched our paddle boards here and had a great day!! If you are looking for a real beach with waves, then drive to the many beaches located at least 30-50 miles away! If you want a nice day in a park-like setting with lots of amenities for just the price of parking (.75 cents an hour), then this is the place! I wish my tax dollars at home were used for beautiful parks like this! I guess I will just have to move!

Pleasant beach. If you like looking for seashells, this one has some. It's not busy here but the area is clean, warm and safe.

Great place to enjoy the beach with out driving to the Gulf of Mexico. Swiming pool, Bocee balls, horseshoes, volleyball & picnic area available.

My wife and I go here all the time, its not crowded and very peaceful. Sure its not the Gulf but its close to home and very clean and pretty. Grab yourself a chair and one of the palm trees on the beach and you are set!

With a pool right on the water, this beach is wonderful! There is a very nice pier and walk along the water deck, with beautiful beaches on either side. Great area for kids and members of the community to get together and enjoy the beautiful sunshine. Pack a cooler with drinks and lunch and snacks for all to enjoy under pavilions that include picnic tables. The pool is gorgeous and spacious with a great view off the water and beach. It's a small park but very cute and quiet, with water access to launch your boat or watercraft. If you will be in Port Charlotte to enjoy a nice beach, this is definitely a must see! There is a small parking fee and fee to use the pool but it's very cheap and well worth it!

Clean and easily accessible. Plenty of pooches, no leashes required. Dog fountains and even dog showers.

We went to this beach on our first day, parking was only $3. The beach is small but nice. The park has clean restrooms.

It's a nice little park, with a playground for kids. I like to occasionally walk the dog there. You could go in the water there, but I would advise against it, it's brackish, and there appears to be metal pilings or something in the area near the shore.

Great venue. View from the deck was beautiful. Staff was great to work with. Figuring out parking for overnight vehicles was a little tricky.

Being that I live by this beach, it's a great place to watch the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico.
It's very relaxing to walk on the beach to meet nice people from this area of SW Florida.

Um this has to be a joke because I've lived in Port Charlotte all my life and i don't think i know anyone who loves this beach. The sand is horrible, as is the water. WHY WOULD YOU GO HERE!?!? If you're going to Florida, at least go to Siesta Key. Way nicer beach. This place is the worst!!!

This is a sweet little recreation area. I've spent many hours teaching my granddaughter to swim in the public pool with the help of wonderful lifeguards. The beach area is small & crowded during g the season. A long pier extending into the harbor makes for good fishing & picturesque photo ops. There is an easy boat/kayak ramp with plenty of parking & free life vests on loan. There is a large facility available to rent for weddings or business events. There is also a playground, basketball court, restrooms & picnic shelters. Charlotte Harbor water is tannic, tea color, some people think it's dirty but it's brackish because the harbor is where fresh water from the Peace River meets salt water from the Gulf of Mexico. This is a great recreation area with something for everyone. I would prefer if parking were free but it's a County-run facility & local residents can't pick up the tab for all the visitors who enjoy this facility.

The water isn't so pretty but you can still swim in it. Nice park and gazebos! Has community pool,I never been. Have to pay to park.

This beach is easy to get to and park. Best thing is you don't have to hike your chairs, umbrellas, coolers, etc to the water's edge. It is brackish water but very clean and the sand is soft

Take a picnic and your swim suit and have a fun day. You can also fish on the other side of the beach if you like. They have picnic areas and a nice beach to layout on. There is also a boat ramp. Lots of parking. Easy access, very clean. Check it out while in the area.

Worth the visit ... For sitting picnicking boating beaching sunning walking ..
Plenty of sand and parking and harbor views

The landscape and docks were nice, however the water was murky when we were there. It felt safe. You do have to pay for parking, but it was very reasonable.

We launched our kayaks and paddled around the harbor on a calm sunny day. There is a boat launch and parking. If you forgot a pfd there are some to use. We bought a parking pass but you can also pay machine.
There are clean bathrooms, a swimming pool, shuffle board, playground and boardwalk.
There are some picnic tables with covered roofs and places you can set up your beach chair to sunbath, read etc. There is a playground area for kids.
There is a butterfly garden in front of the administration bldg the Port Charlotte garden club maintains.

This is a Charlotte County Park facility that offers much to the visiting family with children. Kids love the sandy beach front, the swimming pool, nice rest rooms, play areas and shelters. For the adults there are also boat launch ramps, bocce ball courts, grills, picnic tables and lots of shade to relax under and read while watching the youngsters do their thing.
While there are many positives to this recreational park, there are also a couple negatives to mention. As long time CC taxpayers of a goodly annual amount, it is very annoying to have to pay an hourly parking fee for this as well as all the other county facilities.
Also this facility attracts a rather loud, seedy looking crowd of drinking-toking buddies about sunset and later. It is best to avoid this scene, especially with children after dark.

Not much to see but a nice though short boardwalk. A dolphin popped its head out of khaki green water but too far away to appreciate. No birds. Only minnows.

The water is brown. You can fish on the dock but you do not want to swim in this water. The place has a boating dock you can use. Nice houses to view in the area.

I have visited this park on many occasions, just to take pictures. The beach is small and the last time we visited, it was low tide. Lots of shore birds were feeding and there weren't too many people around.
I love the nearby pier, as it takes you several meters out to the water, where you can enjoy the view and the amazing sunset. This is the best part about this place .. the views and sunsets. What more can one ask for? If you want to capture one of Mother Nature's stunning colorful display, bring your camera.

Great fishing pier. Swimming pool. Bocce courts. Boat launch. Beach. Picnic area with pavilion. What else would OK be want or need?

We were looking for a spot close by to put our toes in the sand and watch the sunset... this was the perfect spot for it!

This is a small beach (perhaps 100 yards in length) in a pretty setting with an adjacent boat ramp and a fishing pier. Many sea birds are present.
My wife and I visited on a week day and there were only two people on the beach so crowds are no problem.

Very nicely maintained park with clean restrooms. There is a playground for the kiddos and lots of shade spots for parents to keep a watchful eye. There is a nominal fee to park a car and there is free handicap parking onsite. Catch a sunrise here or stay for sunset, you won't regret it--the park is amazingly beautiful. Enjoy!

could have been a little cleaner, but overall the environment was very relaxing and a nice place to just enjoy the view.

This area is so beautiful. Always clean and lots of shells. We go there and take our grandkids. They enjoy looking for shells and sharks teeth.

This is not the gulf but a large, shallow harbor of brackish water and people do swim there occasionally. The park is never overly busy which is nice. There is a heated pool for a small fee. There are other amenities at this park just check them out online.

I've been visiting Port Charlotte every year or so since my father moved here in 1994, so I've been here as a visitor repeatedly. Nice small shallow beach, picnic area, lovely pier for fishing, small boat ramp, playground, ample parking. And usually a beautiful sunset. I visit here every time I'm in Port Charlotte. Be aware the water is a little tea-colored from the nearby mangroves. Lots of wildlife to see, too. My son caught a small fish with his bare hands when he was 3- he's 18 now. And just this year, my younger son caught a small crab! We love to visit this one- it's a small quiet beach that is not a tourist-y place at all.

Enjoyed the peaceful walk along the beachfront. Very Clean but the beach is not the most scenic or tourist friendly.

I love how this park is secluded and close to my home. It's a great little getaway for anyone who jogs or rides their bike.

my day at Port Charlotte Beach Park was nice. The water was off color due to recent issues in other locations. However, the beach was clean with nice picnic tables and some shade trees. The beach is a bit shallow but was not an issue because the crowd was minimal. most folks were at the pool, just feet away. there is a very nice bathroom just off the beach as other activities like tennis and basketball courts nearby as well.

I have been going to this beach on and off for years, and when I recently went WOW it has changed so much. I believe, and defiantly for the better.

Unless you are looking for any place that has sand and water, you will probably be disappointed here. The sand is dirty, the water is brown (or, at least was when I was there), the beach is not wide, and there are bugs. There is a pool there, but I have never used it. There is a fee for parking, which is ridiculous!

With COVID-19 hanging around, I had almost the whole place to myself; or so it seemed. The park itself is lovely and spacious. Parking galore and if boating is your thing, they have more than just a few ramps laying around. A few people fishing on the pier along with the setting sun made a great backdrop for my photos. The restroom was clean with no malodor. Off in the distance was a playground with more than just a few kids. The birds chirped and dived, kids ran and laughed and fisherman admiring their catch. All while my camera was clicking away.

Went for an afternoon with my family. Enjoyed the sandy beach, there were some shells, so bring water shoes if you have some. Nice playground and a pool. You have to pay to park .75 per hour

Nice little park with lots of things to do. Love the sunsets here. There's a nice pool, boat ramp, basketball & tennis courts, bocce ball, fishing peer, playground for the kids, etc.

On the Gulf of Mexico (actually on the mouth of the river) just a short drive from Sarasota. Nice clear water and plenty of space

Has all the amenities one would want for visiting SW Florida. Beach, pool, fishing dock, tennis, boccia courts, boat launching, roof shelters for picnics. Only drawback .75 cents an hour for parking.

Great value for large, all beef hotdog or pizza. Yes, it’s fast food, but we always enjoy the large all beef hotdogs and the raspberry tea.

Has an adequate man made beach. The water is not so great. Fresh and salt water mix and very cloudy. There is a swimming pool at the complex though.

I was a nice place to stop for a picnic or maybe do a little fishing and it is just for a nominal entrance fee

Until very recently, my mom and I went here every week, sometimes twice a week. We have found another park that we like, and so we haven't been going to the beach park as often as we used to, but we still go here at least once a month now. This is a little park, and it is not a true beach, and there are usually few people there, even in the evenings. My mom and I always take a last-minute picnic when we decide to go here, which is usually after we have been out and about all day. We always stop at a supermarket and get some salads and drinks and food for the birds, and take all of this over here. We almost always end up here in the early evening hours, so we can enjoy our dinner and watch the sunset. Like I said, we used to do this one or two times a week, so I have been there many, many times to watch sunsets. The views of the sunsets here are very panoramic, and some of the best views of sunsets I have seen anywhere, and I've taken many pictures. We always walk the pier before we leave, and the sunset views are beautiful from the pier, but I think they are even more gorgeous viewed while standing on the sand itself. Standing right near the water, the sunsets are absolutely breathtaking. Parts of the sky turn a very hazy pink, and it is just so beautiful to watch this.
The only real complaint I have about this park is that they need more benches near the side of the park where the boat ramp is located. There are only two benches on that side, and sometimes (although very rarely) both of them are occupied. This has only happened once in all the times we have been there, but I still think that they need more benches on this side of the park.
All in all, this is a quiet place to go to have an impromtu picnic (like we do), walk the pier, and enjoy the gorgeous sunset views.

On a visit this week with a pre-teen, we found the pool at this park to be very well maintained and manned by a crew of excellent life guards who were serious about their jobs. I found that they were responsible not only for guarding the swimmers but also for pool maintenance, first aid equipment and bathhouses. They all have first aid certification.
As far as public pools are concerned, this one is relatively small, has the usual gradual depth changes and a roped off deep end. The water is sparkling clean and the area around the pool is clean, in excellent repair and has umbrella tables.
We will be back.

Not much here. Very little stretch of sand, and we found dog poop twice on the beach! We stayed in Punta Gorda and went to this beach (but did not stay!) because of its proximity. There is a pier for fishing which might interest some, as well as bathrooms and a small pool.

Although the water of Charlotte Harbour is brownish, unlike the turquoise water of the Gulf of Mexico, it is still very clear.
Over the years the Beach Park has expanded with the relatively new boardwalk and other facilities added.
Unfortunately one has to pay for parking now and there is no concession stand for food and beverages.
However it is still great spot to spend time sunbathing on the clean beaches, playing bocce, tennis or swimming in the popular public pool.
Spotting dolphins and sea birds can also be a rewarding pastime.
Weekends is the most popular time, naturally, when it can be quite busy particularly in the tourist season.

A quiet beach with white sand, mostly locals on the week end. You see some fishing and swimming, more children however are in the swimming pool. Some endangered birds, as Florida scrub jays, a pair of bald eagles, a fishing dock, very few shells.

A local peaceful area to enjoy the sun and sand as well as a pool. Beautiful view to sit and watch the water, jumping fish, and numerous birds flying overhead. We brought chairs onto the sand and did a little wading as the water is shallow. A nice picnic and barbecue area is available and next time we will take advantage. The only drawback was the pier being closed for repair, but it looked like work was being done. A nice place for a glass of wine and sunset in the future.

Sad that dogs can't walk on the beach. Otherwise a beautiful facility with boat launch, sand, washrooms and shade.

very clean! no garbage or driftwood or seawood. we took the grill and had a picnic on the sand. there were a lot fo seagulls trying to get the food but that is because people feed them

There’s a fishing pier, small beach area, and a swimming pool at this park. It’s free, easily accessible, and also has a pavilion with restrooms.

The picture shows a beach but there is only a little bit of sand there. The park is right on Charlotte Harbor which is brackish water so you don't really want to swim in it since it is dark brown and shallow. They have a public pool to use that is ok if you are looking for a place to swim. The pool is pretty small though so if there are about 10-20 people it will be crowded. They have a playground for kids there but parking is not free. I only recommend this place as a last resort. They do rent kayaks there which is a plus if that is what you are looking to do.

sad, small beach with uninviting water. Community center there looks new but appears unused. Small pool but it's not free. pay to park was free but maybe it's not sometimes. don't bother

Took my Girl Scout Troop here a couple of times. Nice pool at a great price. The pavillions are great. We spent the entire afternoon 11am-7pm! We swam, snacked, played on the playground, grilled out and had a beautiful day!

This "beach" is filthy and disgusting. We went with our 13 year olds for a birthday and we just dropped off our presents and left. The birthday girl got a cut in the rocks and has a HUGE infection in her leg.

Port Charlotte Beach Park has a lovely small beach, as well as a boat launch, fishing pier, swimming pool, shuffleboard courts, restrooms, large picnic area and playground, with ample parking. I have never seen it crowded and it is well maintained - a great place to take the grandchildren when they come to visit. The only fee is for parking. This is one of Charlotte County's hidden gems!

As usual, the water was "ewe". (Picture Jimmy Fallon with that "ewe"!). My husband and I do however enjoy metal detecting but there's never anything good or interesting. The public bathrooms smelled pretty gross last visit.

Picturesque strip of beach with covered picnic tables, a fishing pier, playground, sand and sun. Photographers will appreciate the fantastic sunsets, foliage and birds.

Being a passed Port Charlotte, Florida resident I have never understood how they call this a beach. It is a small strip of sand that you can sit on and view the harbor. It's not a beautiful wide white sand gorgeous beach with a beautiful swimming area.
It does offer docking space for your boats or water crafts. There is a small place for the children to play and picnic facilities as well as a fishing pier. No pets are allowed. There are restrooms and plenty of space for parking.
I would advise if you and your family are wanting to go and enjoy the beach it is worth the extra 15 to 30 minute drive to get to a very nice beach like Boca Grande, Venice Beach or even a little bit further 30-45 minutes to go to beaches in Fort Myers or Sarasota.

Walking the dogs or taking the family bicycling, it's a pretty park and a most of the time a great breeze. Although I haven't went fishing off the pier, we always see people trying their luck!

What a nice park! We were pleasantly surprised at the variety of amenities and activities available here. A fishing pier (where people were catching fish), boat ramps, kayak launch/rentals, boardwalk, picnic tables, clean restrooms, swimming pool, bocce ball, tennis courts, small beach on Charlotte Harbor, community building, ... I'm sure I'm forgetting something. And it's all yours for a modest 75 cents per hour parking fee. Annual parking passes are also available.

I don't know why they call this a beach. It is a great place to launch your boat but not to swim. If you are looking for the beaches in Charlotte County, you have to drive down 776 to either Boca Grande or go a little further to Manasota Key. Lots more to do on the Key (renting boats or doing boat tours.) It serves its purpose for launching a boat. It does have a small, man-made beach and that is a good spot for watching a sunset. The water is brown because the tannins in the mangrove leaves there and up the Peace River make it that way (like tea.) I think they have done the area an injustice by calling it a beach. It's 20 miles to get out of Charlotte Harbor by boat and takes about an hour and some change to get out into the Gulf of Mexico.

Awesome small, but great place for singles,couples,families.. Dog park, basketball, pavillions, bocce. Many things to do. Never too crowded with beautiful sunsets..

it is a wonderful natural beach
there are pelicans and dolphins
and you can collect shark tooth
we will be back it was so pretty

Clean beach, covered picnic tables, shady areas. Palm trees, walking paths. Pool nice. Not crowded. Parking a little confusing.

Beach is small but there's lots to do.
Swimming Pool, Pier, Tennis, Pickle Ball, Boccie.
There's a boat ramp too.
Seniors meet early most days to play Pickle ball and Boccie.

Easy to get to. Well designed with boardwalk offering outdoor pool. Enjoy a lovely walk and watched Fisherman off the pier.

Really nice area. Lovely boardwalk and park with a fair amount of parking. We found this by accident but were glad we did. Unfortunately it was freezing the day we visited and the wind made it impossible to walk out to the end of the pier.

Park has boat ramp, rental jet skies, sail boats, pool, tennis, sand beach and a rental room on the water, great for parties, etc.

This white sandy beach opens onto wonderful harbor whose north side that is full of remote places for kayaking and sailing. There’s all kinds of fishing, i.e., red fish all the way up to Tarpon. The kids love to JetSki and water ski. My only fear is this is going to turn into another Sarasota, or Naples. Every time I go out on the harbor I feel like I’m the only one there and It’s my own personal harbor! What am I doing reviewing this how do I delete this . . .

awesome place to relax during the week and for a beach visit. very clean place and lots of parking. city must be recommended for a great place for people and their families.

I liked how secluded it and yet how family oriented. My grandson had a great time and we were able to have a nice little picnic at the tables. Lots of fun things like a playground, volleyball net and basketball courts not to mention the beach.

This could have been a nice beach. We paid for parking, then found the beach to be seriously in need of cleaning up.

This area has places to picnic, play tennis, swim in the river at a small beach, and a pool for those who don't want to swim in the river. Parking is fairly cheap at 50 or 75 cents and hour. They have restrooms as well.

Love this beach because it is small and you get to meet a lot of people who live in the area. They also have a great boat dock that the only thing that you have to remember is to put enough money because you will get a ticket. The sunset is fabulous when you are on the pier. It is a nice romantic place to sit, talk and watch the people fish off the pier.

Very nice and clean. Friendly people. Available fishing pier. Restrooms very clean. Restaurants on beach.

This is not a typical over crowded beach like Englewood, but if you're looking for a bit of sun and peace and quiet I suggest visiting this park. It is conveniently located and offers a pool (for a price), a boat landing and a playground for kids. The water is shallow and calm because of the location.

Nice playground for kids. Very nice pier and walkway. Nice place to watch the sun set in the winter.

Beàutiful quaint spot after coming several years to the area we just discovered. Peaceful place to observe the beautiful sunsets Florida has to offer.

Not really busy, no waves, water brackish and can be chilly in the winter. People friendly and close by.

Nice quiet park on the bay with sand beach, playground, tennis courts, swimming pool, fishing pier, and boat launch. Any time I have been here it has not been busy. Only a few people. Down side is you have to pay for parking. I know it is to help maintain the park but I never stay more than 5 minutes. I would prefer to sit on a Gulf beach instead of the dirty water of the bay/river.

My son and I came to launch our Sunfish sailboat and try a little salt water sailing in Charlotte Harbor just before noon on a Saturday. The boat ramps were busy but we had no trouble getting in and out and people were mostly courteous. One person got in a bit of a hurry but that happens at a lot of boat ramps. The protected waters around the ramp were ideal and the ramps had ample room. Be aware you must pay to park - it cost us $10 for the whole day.

My neice recently moved to port Charlotte!
Average age , 65 at least I think. Different place, sun shines , 7 tornadoes in the past 6 months. Not much to do , not even good shopping . Fort Myers 40 minute drive

great for kids parties and going on pier, not good swimming but enjoyable tanning without crouds

So pretty and clean! The sunset was beautiful and it is a great place to meet up with friends and family.

We spent a lovely time on the pier fishing, and enjoying the view! There is a nice play area with swings nearby.

Nice shade and park benches. Nice beach and pool. Only negative is charging for parking. Close to our hotel

A friend of mine gave me a tour of this park. I was so impressed that I brought my wife there a few days later. It was un-crowded, beautiful and very relaxing. We will definitely be going back again as It is only 15 mins from where we live. I have been talking it up to all my friends too!

We only went for the sunset, but it is a fee area so we had to pay to park whilst we watched,.
We walked to a beach and the sunset was really beautiful. Hoseshoe crabs were swimming in the water by the beach,

Had a great time in the park. Nice place to relax and enjoy your friends company. The grounds clean and inviting.

We stay in Port Charlotte so we really like to use the Port Charlotte Beach Park. We really don't go into the water but if you want someplace close by where you can sit on the beach for a couple of hours and you don't have to travel far, this is it. It's a good location and not crowded. It does have a pool and picnic area which we have not used. It costs to park but the day we were there parking was free. It usually takes us approximately 10-15 minutes travel time to get there. Other beaches take more than 30 minutes to reach and if you don't go early, you don't get a parking place. This is ideal if you just want to get some sun for a few hours and enjoy the view.

beautiful beach but very small not much of a beach to lay around but nice area and park for kids port charlotte doesnt really have a beach but this will do

This is a nice county owned facility. Nice beach, boat ramp, play ground and picnic area. The pier was just rebuilt this year. There is a charge for parking but there is ample space.

Nice quiet out of the way park. Has a small beach. kayak rentals, pavilion, rest rooms, rec center. In ground heated pool is nice for parents.
Very comfortable for all and water is generally not rough. It can be a bit wind.
The biggest downside is the cost of parking. $0.75 per hour. This should be free. But like everything else in Florida, there is a TAX to pay.

The "Beach Complex" provides a very active boat ramp, nice warm swimming pool with seniors water aerobics (small fee), pretty little beach, small playground. It a very nice walk or biking destination, perfect for sitting to watch the sunset. There is also a watercraft rental place by the boat ramp. Pay parking.

One of our first stops as tourists to a lovely area; our host brought us to see and enjoy the beach and pier boardwalk.... It was nice to see how they drop nets to catch bait (mullet) for their hooks, and then to keep the circling gulls and pelicans and herons from swooping in for a quick free meal!

Amazing park, very clean! Love the bbq pits and piers to walk out on. Very beautiful park to watch the sunset! Free to walk around the beach area, but have to pay for parking.

enjoyed walking our dog along beach and also in dog park. Clean, well kept areas. Many trails but one can get lost!

We were recently in Port Charlotte for the 3rd time. This is our favourite place. We were only there 2 weeks this time, but it felt like we finally got to Florida when we went to the pool for 10 am aquasizes, and some of the same people as last year were there. Also some of the same staff. The aquasizes are all drop in. Pay your money and participate. If my husband didn't want to go in the pool , there was a "smoking table" outside that usually had people sitting visiting, playing with devices or generally discussing the problems of the day, or watching progress of the repair of the fishing pier, which will probably take a few months. There are lovely tables with umbrellas to sit at by the pool, or lounge chairs. Cost is reasonable. $3.00 for aquasizes or $2.69 for use of the pool. Further down there is a little beach, and going the other way a beach, and tables. Not sure how far this park goes as there is more park closer to the bridge with tables that we often sat at in the afternoon to look at the view and enjoy the sun. The fee is only for the swimming pool. Not sure about the boat launch. Parking has a small charge. The beach and fishing pier is free.
There is also a boat launch at the park.

I give this 5 stars because I am a wedding officiant and this little beach is an excellent place for beach weddings. It is quiet and uncrowded and pretty. The parking lot is large and near the beach. There is a fee for parking, but it is small. There is a nice pier to walk on, as well as a nice clubhouse on the water. They have a pool and sports. Great little gem in P.C. that I always recommend as a venue to my local couples.

We come once a week and always enjoy ourselves. Parking is very inexpensive, and even takes debit cards now! Convienient bathrooms. Also a park, pool, and other recreation options

I like the fact that this park is very close to where I live. However, the water has been brown (the color of tea) for about a year now and it's very unsightly and sometimes smells terrible. The pool at the park seems nice and their do offer basketball courts as well.

Lovely water view and beach area. Pavilions nearby. Area to walk.
Patrolled frequently, therefore, very safe for anyone alone.

Very small beach but others are close by if you drive to manasota key beach etc. Punta Gorda is a harbor and bay type area tho and still very nice.

This local beach park has a pool, kayak rentals and a boat ramp. Good park for kids. The beach seems clean but if you are expecting clean, clear ocean water, you will be disappointed. I was expecting nice, clear water but was disappointed to find dark, brackish water. But if you just want to sit in a beach chair with your feet in the sand and not have to travel out of Port Charlotte, it will serve its purpose.

Many people utilize the park for it's beach, boat ramp, kayak launch and rental, picnic areas, playground, volleyball, tennis court, pavillion, bathrooms, fishing pier. The park is clean and has a nice view of the harbor. You need to pay for parking or purchase a permit which can be obtained from the office in the afternoons on weekdays. Many people go there for sunset. I live nearby the park and walk there frequently. It's a very nice place to visit, relax, and brown bag a lunch.

We like this park a lot. There is a small public pool, a beach, and places to launch boats and kayaks. We've kayaked here, and it's pretty safe. You'll see many fish jumping out of the water! The pier is brand new, it seems, and is lit well at night, too...very nice place to watch the sunset!

Nice park with tennis, basket ball, bocce ball, public swmming pool (fee), pavillions, grilles, fishing pier, boat launch, small beach but nice. Easy to park (minimal fee). Clean restrooms. Water was mucky at the shoreline.

Easy place to kick back in the sand. Swim a bit. Relax. It also has a boat ramp for easy access to the gulf.

This is a place to go if you like water & a Picnic lunch .They have a very nice playground, shady areas for the picnic tables, if you want to swim in a pool they have that to. if you want to sit on the grass to have a picnic they have nice grounds for that to. You can also rent the indoor area.

If you are looking for a place to relax this is it. Rather you are on the beach or just sitting on a bench, it makes for a truly great and relaxing day.

It costs like two bucks to go swimming in the pool. Very clean. Right on the beach with a great view. Playground has a lot to do for children. Great for the price

Had a great view of the sunset Saturday February 9th. Enjoyed the view from the pier and the place was very clean all around. Parking is easy and paying at the keosk is very simple. Will go back soon. Before going home to Maine

The meeting facility, which is what drew me there for a special event, is lovely with beautiful views of the harbor. The staff is very helpful and provided all the assistance we needed. A perfect place for a meeting, reception or the like.

The bike paths are nice. The bocce ball courts looked like fun.
I would not have gotten in the water on a dare!

Beautiful visit to the beach park. We did not have that much time so we mainly scouted for the near future. We were impressed . This place has so much to offer for entire family. Both the beach and pool area. Great pier perfect for fishing. It is so nice to walk the boardwalk. We can put both the tennis court and the playgound to good use

Great beach and park on the bay. Water looked like mixture of fresh and ocean water. Shaded picnic pavilion a great spot for lunch and to escape the hot sun. There is a swimming pool but I'm not sure if it is open to the public or residents only. Pier extends put into the water. This is an absolute great place to spend the day.

If your looking for white beaches and turquoise water, this is not your spot. It is on Charlotte Harbor so the water is brackish. However, there is a pool, basketball courts, boat ramp, picnic areas and one of the best places to see a sunset.

close to town good boat launch, ample parking local animal display as well very relaxing day....we enjoyed very much

Although small, the beach park has plenty of amenities (pool, boat launch, restrooms, etc) and is never crowded.

It’s a nice park with good amenities. There is a pool for a small fee, a nice white sandy beach, and picnic pavilions with grills. It also has a motorized and non- motorized boat launch. It’s on the Peace River so the water is usually pretty warm. Watch for the horseshoe crabs near dusk. You must pay to park at this facility.

Very clean picnic tables undercover there some trees playground for the kids the view is gorgeous love to visit it will come back and visit it quite often if you like to walk the beach this is the place to do it it's just big enough that gives you the exercise and eat they do have a pool to swim in it wasn't open at the time but it looks very interesting and may want to try that out

If you are looking for a place to easily launch your boat, I highly recommend Port Charlotte Beach Park. Easy, convenient and good parking. I like that we can get the boat into the water pretty fast since there is rarely a backup line waiting. Plus, we can park quickly and can pay using the app on my phone. Works great! Everything is very convenient from the beach too. Quick access to the harbor.

I believe there is a charge to park. There is very little beach. When we lived there we either went to Englewood beach or to Siesta beach Sarasota. It would be a good place to picnic. Not a good place to swim.

Better than having no beach at all, so it is nice when in Port Charlotte and you want to just hang out at a beach for a couple of hours. The beach is very close.
But the water does not look appealing at all, so I would never go in it.

Port Charlotte Beach Park features picnic pavilions, restrooms, a beach, a swimming pool, boat ramps, and fishing pier. It is free (except for parking)! We launch our paddleboards from the beach and paddle all around the harbor! There is also a vendor that rents kayaks.

The water is clean it is just colored because it is brackish water- a mix of river and gulf water so not as salty as a gulf beach. I’m grateful for this park because I have respiratory problems and could not tolerate the red tide at the gulf beaches this spring. The mangroves that protect the land near our intercoastal waterways create the copper color of the river water. This beach is tested regularly and no red tide here. It’s small but cozy and close to home.

Beautifull place for walk and play Basketball with the kids. Nice sunset and place for relax. They have pool too.

I live close to here in the winter quiet beautiful spot on the Bay. Good place to launch a kayak. Nice small pool it isnt open on Mondays and some holiday. Like walking the pier at night.

This is a piece of Florida Charm. A wonderful beach front park, with plenty of parking for your bike or car. So many friendly people, a happening place. The locals always make you feel welcome.

There are many things to enjoy at this centrally located park along the banks of the Peace River. There's a food pavilion, swimming pool, beach and boat launching ramps.

This is a nice little beach. Not a deep beach but we were able to find a spot to sit that had some beach and some shade. Restrooms are in close proximity but you do have to pay for parking. The water was a bit murky which, combined with the little beach area, brought the score down. I will definitely visit again, though and try to see the sunset next time...

There is a wooden fishing pier, swimming pool and also a boat launch. It is pay and
display parking and both times we were there the park tickets weren't taking one
dollar bills and no sign to say that and it hadn't worked all weekend when I reported
it to a worker. The beach is okay as tide goes in and out and not too suitable for swimming. There are picnic tables which are great.

Rather than driving further to Englewood Beach, this Beach on the River provided the needed get away and sunshine. There is a boat ramp, pool, park, fishing pier and beach like access. No this is not the Gulf of Mexico but a rather well thought out park. Great peace and serenity can be found here.

It's not much of a beach, but if all you want is a little sand to sit on. it will do. I wouldn't go swimming from the beach. (It's located on Alligator Bay.)
However, the park itself is very nice. There is a public swimming pool, tennis courts, bopcci courts. picnic tables a very nice fishing peir.and an excelent boat launching facilitity.
All in all, It'sa a very pleasan t park, forget the beach.

One of the few beaches where you can rent a beach chair. although that may have ended because they were trying to get rid of the vendor. the have a beach house that you can get some goodies though. the parking is very limited . and don't forget to pay or you will pay more later.

Brackish water…don’t recommend swimming here but it’s beautiful. Read that a teenage boy most likely contracted a brain-eating amoeba recently. Drs think it went up his nose & he’s lucky to be alive

Lovely spot to spend some quiet time! Really enjoyed watching the bocci ball matches, and simply sitting on the beach and listening to the water.

This beach has miles of almost empty perfect beach, good facilities, easy parking and access - a place people pay a lot of money to travel here to visit a great beach - highly recommend

Nice place to sit and think!!! Watch the Harbor and relax with the breeze and scenery. Not a sandy beach area only thing missing

This beach was very near my condo.....small but quiet. There is also a public pool right there if you want to swim but not in the ocean. Not a great selection of shells if you're collecting, but I did find a few things I'd never found before: a baby horseshoe crab ectoskeleton, a cat's paw shell, and a few other treasures. I recommend it as a local beach for reading, sunning, and watching the kids play.

Rather than drive to one of the popular distant beaches we opted for this nearby beach and park for our 3.5 year old. Adequate beach for playing in the sand with adjacent playground. Ample Parking $.75/hr.
Fisherman's Village is nearby for lunch.

Sorry, This place is a dump. Trash all over the place, Bums all over the place.Should I tell you more.

I find the name of this attraction to be deceiving. The "beach" is almost non-existent as the location is off an inlet of Charlotte Harbor, with no access to the Gulf of Mexico close by. There is a multi-purpose building, tennis courts and a small playground and a couple of tables for picnicking, but no real "park". Some people put kayaks in here and enjoy paddling in the calm waters and, I suspect the fishing is pretty good off of the pier. Be prepared to pay for parking.

Without the longer drive to the outer beaches, the Port Charlotte Beach is a nice place to kick back and stick your toes in the sand. Nice facilities, including bathrooms, gazebos, a playground, basketball courts, and a boat ramp, make for a great day at the beach for the whole family.

Nice place to take your family, just wish they would clean up some of the old stuff that has been torn or washed away. The park is nice and has shelter and tables and bathrooms

This is a small beach with boat launch, picnic and play areas and restrooms. Not a "destination", but if you are looking for a close-in place to take the kids or put your boat in...this will work. Like most area parks there is a fee for parking.

We enjoyed our day at the Beach. Although the weather was a little cool when we were there. The beach was very clean.

While visiting Port Charlotte, I wanted to visit a beach. Found this place and what a dump. The toilets were gross. (the womens toilet was locked, the mens was open but should have been locked-I told my husband I'll "hold it" until we find another place. Didn't stay more than 2 minutes before I had enough. And they want you to pay for parking - what a joke. If I am paying for parking the restrooms had better be open and clean. Don't waste your time putting this place in your GPS when in the area.

love to take our chairs down to the beach with a book and read and listen to the waves and the birds and watch the sunset.

Wow what a cool place. There is a really cool beach with a public pool for those who don't have a pool. There is a fishing pier and also a boat launch. There are picnic tables and also a boche ball area and they rent kayaks too, The best part...they also have a great dog park. What a cool place!

When I think of going to the Beach I picture the Gulf or Ocean. PC Beach is on Charlotte Harbor so reframe your picture. The water is not your Blue Azure, it's Brackish. Okay we got the negative out of the way. The park is a very nice community park with a Fishing Pier, Swimming Pool, Picnic Tables, Horse Shoe Pits, Boat Launch Ramp, Kayak Rental and a Sandy Beach. For those of you that have never been to Port Charlotte/Punta Gorda the closest Gulf Beach is Englewood and that is a good hour drive, so if you want a quick beach fix, this fits the bill. As an avid Kayak fisherman I use the park frequently for a day of fishing. There is a modest parking charge of $.75 per hour with a honor pay system that accepts credit/bank cards so there is no scrounging under the car seats looking for change. From a family outing to a quick relaxing couple of hours by the water Port Charlotte Beach is there for your using.

I was raised there. It's a crap hole that you people keep trying to make tourist attraction and it is not. Brackish water, Horrible Infrastructure and all around a disappointment was forced to be there until 18 and am so glad that I no longer live there, Blah a million times, send that to the BBB in PG. Pay for Parking, please. Is the tax base so low that the seniors who live there have to pay to fish in those polluted and nasty waters? have the Manatees left yet? All of you politicians who run Charlotte County should be prosecuted for the sins you have allowed to take place in that area, Karma,

Boat ramp is ok, but getting out into the harbor is a bit of a challenge even for an experienced boater. The beach and complex as long as I have know it has always been "dirty" and not so well kept. Trash, repairs always being done or needed. I realize this is a complex on the water, but the general upkeep and cleanliness is poor compared to other areas in Charlotte County.

We visited on a Saturday evening.
There was a group meeting in the picnic area, some sort of ceremonial meeting. There were a few families scattered throughout the park and a girl scouts or birthday party in the main building.
There were benches to sit and relax. There was a small beach to collect shells (nothing exceptional, mostly barnacle type shells) We stuck our feet in the water, just to feel it. But then while leaving, noticed the sign that there were dangerous levels of bacteria and fecal matter in the water. Yeesh!
There was a pool there but it was closed, there was a meeting room for private meetings or parties, there was a boat ramp I think. Lots of available parking, you have to pay to park but I think we were the only ones who actually did. There was a nice little playground for kids and room for them to run around.
Nothing really impressive here but the view of the sunset and the pier. We live in Clearwater so our bar is set high.

Nice quiet area. Can enjoy a small beach, and can go swimming. There is a dock for fishing. Saw people catching fish and even saw a shark go by. Not a good area for shells.

The facilities were very nice, but couldn't get past the tepid copper colored water. No waves so it might suit kayakers but I wouldn't go in

Love this place. Nice beach park with lots to do. Picnic, boating and a nice playground. You do have to pay to park.

Went there on a whim down Harbor Blvd. Do the speed limit andwatch out for police cars.
Place is small beach; swimming pool; bocci ball; even kayak rentals!
Had a community center you could rent. Parking by the hour unless you are handicapped then it's free. Fishing pier. Lots of walking trails.
There are better beaches near Englewood, but it's nice to have something for the people of Port Charlotte

Very nasty colored water and lots of seaweed. Would never go in that crap so decided to try the pool but it was closed. On a holiday weekend the pool was closed!!! Crap place and will never go back.

Is there a nice little picnic area enjoyed being outside sitting on the beach watching the kids play in the sand nice people not very crowded

For people in Port Charlotte who don’t want to make the trip to the gulf, this is a nice small beach. The pool is nice, boat ramp, clean facilities, tennis courts and clubhouse.

A sanctuary in Port Charlotte for locals. Love this place. Not very many times in my life have I watched dolphins almost beach themselves to catch fish, and then playfully jump back into the water. Truly a magical little mini- beach.

Great place to go and grill out and let the kids play in the sand or on the playground. Fun for the kids.. only mins from the main attractions in port Charlotte.

We are very lucky that we have not seen any signs of red tide at this beautiful park in charlotte county, FL.
This park has a large heated pool, a limo fishing pier, facilities you can book for weddings and other celebrations.
The boat ramp is large enough to launch your boat. Rent kayaks right at the beach. Have a Picknick in the extended patio area with tables and benches under a roof.
Or enjoy a game of Boccia ball.
Plenty parenting makes it easy to visit any day of the week.

This is a clean and relaxing place. I appreciate a lovely park with a nice beach. But if you want a serious beach you might be disappointed.
There are life guards at the pool , and clean restrooms.
What a lovely day on the small beach. If you are in Port Charlotte make it a destination. We saw fish flying out of the river!

This is a very small beach. The beach has a lot of old seaweed. It’s not really the beach to walk on but is good if you just want to soak up the sun or let your kids play. There is parking.

Has a little beach which is not all Gulf water, so it is not clear. Still it is nice. There are tennis courts, basketball court, pavillion with picnic tables, bocce ball, horseshoes, a dock and many more things. Parking is dirt cheap at .75 an hour. You can rent canoes and kayaks from Its Time Kayak Rentals, which also offers tours. I have been on the tours and they are great. As long as you have a basketball or tennis racket or horseshoes you will stay busy and have fun there.

Good place to fish, dock a boat, swim, picnic, and a lot of other things. Don't forget you have to pay to park.

Staying in Punta Gorda and usually we make the drive to Boca Grand. Kids are 10 and 8 so we wanted to hit the beach but only for an hour or two and didn't want to make the long drive. This was PERFECT! Park RIGHT by the beach, easy to haul chairs and umbrellas! Bathroom right there and shady trees! Sand to play in! EASY! Parking was just $0.75 an hour...perfect when we weren't sure the amount of time we would spend in this record December heat!

Nice place to spend a day! The beach park has grills, pavilions, a swimming pool, tennis courts, horseshoes, volleyball courts, and the beach itself.

This is a quiet little beach on the inlet Harbor off the Gulf. Nice views and quiet relaxed atmosphere. Not crowded at all.

It's small, out of the way and a bit hard to find especially now 6 months after Hurrican e Ian with so many street and road signs missing still. There is a small strip of beach area easy to reach from parking. Restroom open and clean. The pool has a sign up that it is closed still from hurricane Ian, but was filled, clean and looked ready to use, so...

Absolutely LOVE this park. The parking is very reasonable and plentiful. Even when it's "crowded" there is plenty of space to set up a chair and enjoy the beach. If you aren't a beach person, there is a swimming pool, horseshoes, Bocce, basketball, tennis, picnic area, even a kayak and canoe rental. It is dog friendly, although they are not allowed on the beach itself.

There are no large waves, or sharks here...just calm waters, white sand, and lots of sunshine. It's also quiet and not crowded. It's a nice walking and sunbathing beach.

This beach looks out at the harbor-or bay area. It was set up as a beach because Port Charlotte is quite a ways from the beach, I guess. Sand area that they picture is between a grassy area with some palm trees and a sea wall. This is not the Gulf of Mexico, so please do not be disappointed. This area is not landlocked but it is more for fishing and sailing. The Park is a nice area to satisfy the craving some have for a beach-if all you want is to lie on the sand.

You can rent the pavilions but must be a couple weeks in advance. We just showed up on a Wednesday and had no problems. They are doing some sort of construction but didn't impact our time. Beautiful location with plenty of outdoor activities. I believe there is typically a charge for parking that would most likely deter a return visit. Overall a nice location with good amenities

It's a small area with a water view. They don't allow pets, so I was told my cat would have to leave :( No real beach area...so perhaps it should not be called a "beach park". Can't swim in water either...or perhaps at your own risk (water is unsafe with alligators and/or bacteria).

Fine sand beach with a special view of the sunsets. Romantic place to enjoy your significant other. Open view of the bay out to the gulf.

Plenty of parking (not free), shuffleboard, heated pool (for a fee), public bathrooms, long pier, sandy beach area to lay in the sun but not a swimming beach, a lot of people fish here so not so much for getting in the water. But I go here often just to lay on a non-crowded beach.

This place used 2 B called something else but 4 a long time I was always curious about what it was like. It's not like any beach U C in an ocean with big waves be cause it is where a river actually empties I to a large harbor and then into the gulf. They have a swimming pool, public restrooms, tennis courts and a boat ramp. U can also rent kayaks as well and there R picnics tables also. There is nothing I found special about this place and of course there fishing piers as well.

I stopped by on the off chance that I would find a nice spot to sit for a couple of hours. I was really surprised at the
quietness and cleanliness of the beach with the soft white sand. There were clean bathrooms and plenty of spaces to sit on the beach either side of the pier. Nice spot if you have a couple of hours to spare.

This place has everything; a pool, tennis courts, fishing pier, pavilions, and more I'm forgetting. We didn't realize there was a parking fee, but didn't get a ticket. (it was a Sunday) Very nice place.

Nice place to have a beer on the beach and also a shaded picnic area to eat. You have to pay for parking and there is also a community pool you have to pay to use.

The two times we went, there were no swimming signs due to high levels of bacteria. If it's all you have, pay for the pool. Sand fleas, ants and dirty trash ridden sand. Its hard to swim here with all the other amazing beach choices around.

What's not to Luke in a beach. You need sand and water. It want crowded but the people have not been filled with snowbirds yet. Worth a visit for the kids and for those that want a change from the crowded pools at the hotel.

This is a quaint beach with breath taking scapes of Charlotte Harbor. A wonderful fishing pier with all the sights of nature that one would expect in Florida!! 🌞🌞🌞

Nice pool, rarely crowded. Boat ramps, sail boat rentals and picnic tables. Beautiful view of the harbor. A hidden gem in Charlotte County!

This harbor beach is only 10 minutes from our house.
We enjoy stopping at the nearby Subway and enjoying a sub in the sun for an hour or two. Restrooms are easily accessible. It is not the ocean but so close to our house.

What a great park on Peace River. There is a swimming pool with lifeguards, a bocce court, boat launch and two bathrooms. We went for the Port Charlotte Regatta which is held here annually. What a great park for the community.

After reading some reviews we decide to visit this area. There is no beach area and it is an area more for the locals
We were vacationing from Missouri and even though it rained almost ever day we were still able to enjoy the beach. We gathered sea shells and swum in the ocean. We had a wonderful time.
