Famous Shoes Worth Buying

By Corey |

My friend and I have both bought hiking boots from here and both visits left us wanting to come back for more. The staff are friendly and helpful as well as knowledgeable. The bottom floor is a clearance section that offers great prices on amazing shoes.

Big Boots

By Tom M |

Not really much of a "museum" and even less of a boot store. I guess if you are a Red Wing fan, you know what you want and can find it, but I wasn't impressed. I only saw two employees--one on the phone ignoring customers and one helping a friend with something and ignoring customers. The museum could have been so much more, but really was not very informative.

You bet your boots this is a must-see.

By Patty B |

Great store and museum. Red Wing Shoes are an old company that's been based in Red Wing for a very long time. The museum is located on the upper levels of the company's flagship store, and is free to the public to peruse. It covers the history of the company with exhibits featuring timelines complete with artifacts from over the course of the past century. I found it interesting to see the evolution of the boots' and shoes' designs from early onto modern times. The giant boot on the first floor is also a neat spectacle, as it was constructed to scale using the same kinds of materials that the normal, human-wearable boot of the same style is made from. And if you'd like to peruse the store's products afterward, all the more reason to go.

Fun to see vast array of products. Yes, big boot is amazing.

By JoeNathan9249 |

This company has been a distinguished record of producing boots, here in America, for decades. A wide range of their products are displayed here, along with a HUGE book (more than 15 feet high) plus a history of the company.

Store is on south side of main street (highway 61 running through town) - Corporate headquarters are on north side of street; factory is just outside of downtown

This company has stayed alive by focusing on quality - very happy story.

A superb display of american craftsmanship

By Ryan D |

I happened to be in town doing a video for the Redwing shoe company, specifically at the factory, so when the marketing director said that we had to go to the flagship store we of course checked it out... The selection of shoes downstairs was daunting I never knew they had so many different styles to choose from... But upstairs was were the real wonderment began, a small museum paying homage to the history of this american made brand... You can't help but leave this place feeling an overwhelming sense of patriotism.

A must stop in Red Wing

By rrmMinnesota |

We always take visiting friends and family here to see the giant boot and shop for some deals in the lower level. The museum is well laid out and tells a nice story about the company.

Lots to pick from

By leaholden |

The staff is very helpful and friendly and will do their best to help you find what will work for you. Make sure to go downstairs and look at the deals down there!

Some great RW Shoe history

By 531Jeff1967 |

The museum is a great attraction while visiting or just passing through RedWing they also have an awesome shoe store with a big variety of clothing and RW Shoes and boots and a bargain basement down stairs stop in and check it out!

Store with a Museum and Giant Boot

By pastry-and-poetry |

My grand-daughter always asks to go to this store when she is visiting. It has a beautifully made giant leather Red Wing boot near the entrance. There is also a closout area in the basement with some good deals. The main retail area is fun to browse. There is a museum on the second floor that gives the history of the brand.

If you want your picture taken with a huge boot........!

By Michael E |

This place is very interesting in that the history of the company is laid out in their museum in a very engaging setting that draws you in and peaks your interest. It also offers shopping for their namesake merchandise. 'Bargains' in the basement, which were not tempting enough for me to buy. May be you, if you're interested in some very high quality footwear!

Great shopping experiance

By Jim B |

Very enjoyable to me. I saw the huge boot, certainly a tourist draw and conversation starter. I enjoyed learning about the history of the company. I shopped shoes and bought a belt. Staff was friendly, the store was clean and neat and had a nice crowd. I would recommend this as a stop moreso if you are looking for a pair of shoes or boots. The shoe selection is top notch.

Has anyone heard of this happening before????

By DBrun55 |

Stopped in and was convinced to get some Red Wings. Doing a lot of hiking so ok....picked out a pair and bought them. Traveled to Stillwater MN and decided to start breaking them in before my actual hiking. I walked about 1 city block and the picture will show how far and how the soles fell off. Both. Staff was good at the store, but had to drive back from Stillwater to Red Wing to return or mail them back. And can't return to local store. Wow, anyone able to come up with a story like this?

" Very Interesting History "

By David Miller |

We visited the Red Wing Shoe Store & Museum to see the history of the Red Wing Shoes. Red Wing shoes are very well made and are very expensive to buy. The Museum was very interesting to see the history of the shoe company and to see the shoes and the Biggest Boot in the world was Awesome !

Giant Shoe Worth Seeing

By dbs1024 |

The museum part of the store is a fun visit workout being an overwhelming. The shoes and articles on the main floor seemed pricey but average for any store that sells Red Wing shoes. However there is a discounted store in the lower level worth checking out if you are in a buying mood. Beautiful store in and of itself.

Loved it

By soost2 |

Enjoyed the giant shoe, the small museum upstairs. Will be back when it's time for a new pair of boots

Never hurts to have a big shoe in your vacation photos!

By Anniversary_minded |

Because we've known of Red Wing shoes most of our lives, we had to get the lowdown at the museum. And the store had some good deals, had we been in the market for shoes and boots. Glad we stopped in.

Fun

By Davy T |

Fun little museum, inside retail store. Giant boot. Timeline of Red wing shoes. Good outlet store in basement.

Very interesting

By Duane M |

Enjoyed the museum and the history of the factory. The staff there were very friendly and helpful and greeted us as we came in the door.

Lake City Bike Trip

By as3dgfad6 |

Small museum, the space is mostly retail. That said, the information they had was interesting and the staff was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information. Most impressive was the big boot. Would have been cooler to have a pair, but worth a quick visit.

Neat history of the shoe

By ronismom |

The museum isn't real big, but the history was neat to read on how it all started. The shoe is huge! The ladies at the store were friendly and answered questions that we had.

Everyone needs to see the World's Largest Boot

By Julie W |

This is one big boot and a great picture opportunity. There is a museum on the second floor that shows history and how boots/shoes are made. The first floor is a retail store except for the big boot. The basement has an outlet store. Even in the basement the shoes are pricey. I buy Red Wing shoes from Walt's Shoes on 4th St.

Have your picture taken with this shoe!

By Mm M |

The best place to have a picture taken with this shoe! It can be sent to your phone number. The store is very nice and expensive as expected for these high quality shoes.

Kids will love taking a selfie with the big boot

By Diane B |

A store, a museum and an outlet store in the same building, Interesting to see the background of the famous boots.

Quck but Informative

By TravelingChicks09 |

The museum is in the upper level of the Red Wing Shoe store, so it's not real large, but we thought it was a perfect size. Didn't take long to go through and there was still plenty to learn. Make sure to check out the wall of fame!

Very Well-Done Experience

By johnlh376 |

When in Red Wing, one must go here. It's a very nice experience spread across 3 levels: a modest but well informed museum on the top floor, the retail store on the middle level, and the outlet store on the basement level. Sales staff were very helpful and patient.

Challenge here is that their shoes (heavily tilted towards their men's work boots) are pretty expensive. While the prices in the outlet are better than those in the retail store, they're still pretty pricey. But, most Red Wing shoes are made right in Red Wing, so you're supporting US manufacturing.

Fun, historical and great products

By S K |

This is a fun place to visit with wonderful history and stories of all this company has given back to the community. They have great products of shoes from casual to industrial. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Huge Boot

By kozee1957 |

I thoguht it was very interesting-it is a shoe store also but it says that on the website. We enjoyed walking around the store looking at all the different types of shoes and boots that you probably dont see in the retail stores.

The giant boot is cool!

By Labgirl1 |

My husband wanted to stop here and truthfully I didn’t really have high expectations for the giant boot. I was wrong. The boot is soooo impressive. Stop and see it.

Cool place

By mntraveller636 |

Friendly people working there. The boot statue and antique stuff is cool. We would go there again. High quality boots/shoes.

I was hoping for better pricing

By wrs437 |

I was expecting better prices for a "factory store". They have a very limited selection of discounted boots, otherwise it's just a regular shoe store.

Beautiful store

By kellyp1987 |

This is a pretty nice store for anything Red Wing shoe related. They have many kinds of shoes, and Red Wing shirts and other clothing. Prices are average for Red Wing products.
As one enters the store, there is a HUGE leather shoe. You can get a selfie taken with the shoe courtesy of a camera the store has set up. It emails or texts the photo to your phone if you want. Downstairs is the outlet with some steep discounts.

Interesting

By MinnesotaRandy |

The museum is interesting. There were some nice displays and we spent about 10 - 15 minutes looking around.

Must stop and take a photo with the large boot. Not bad prices on the outlet items.

By CasualTravelSR |

We went to visit Red Wing and stopped in.

We got a photo in front on the big boot.

They did have some boots in the outlet store in the basement at not too bad of prices.

The selection of souvenirs was terrible. They were either tacky or out of stock.

The staff was quite nice and attentive. Building was very clean.

A shoe store and shoe museum, that's about it!

By kn56 |

I certainly wouldn't drive to Red Wing just to see this. It's a shoe store that sells all the current Red Wing (and subsidiary) shoes and has an outlet in the basement. The upstairs has a small Red Wing shoe museum. Of course, the kids love the Guinness Book of World Records certified gigantic boot. If you are really into Red Wing shoes this might be a destination for you. Otherwise, it's one of many interesting shops in downtown Red Wing.

Visit the second floor museum

By CleopatraBunny |

The Main Street store sells all the company’s iconic footwear but the real treat is the gigantic boot at the front and the educational museum on the second floor balcony. Well worth s stop!

Best giant shoe ever

By Dave I |

What else can one say, it is a giant boot and everyone should have there picture taken with it to go with there picture of houses of mud, balls of twine, 6 ton prairie dogs and all the other great memories of great trips and sites. For an extra special treat, find the small museum of "cameras broken by strangers while photographing you with a boot" display

Great boots!

By Hu W |

We get most of our leather products here. Boots, belts, shoes, friendly staff, make sure to look at the deals down stairs.

A fun stop in town!

By Nostalgiyeah |

The world's largest boot is on display here! It is marked as Size 638 and is likely the center point of attraction for this location. There is a certificate from the Guiness Book of World Records attesting to the claim that this is the largest boot. The top floor is practically a small museum - it has a few displays about the beginning of the Red Wing Shoe Company, its evolution and where it stands today. There are also a few displays going into detail about the shoe making process. There are, as expected, various types of shoes, boots and Red Wing t-shirts for sale at the store. The store is located on the main thoroughfare in the town and is free to visit. But probably the biggest attraction is the giant work boot as you enter the store!

Beautiful Red Wing

By judybX5250GP |

Awesome place to visit and you have to see this giant boot!!! You can also buy wonderful Red Wing boots and shoes here. Red Wing boots do not just sell boots but also nicer dress shoes for men and women! These shoes will last forever

If the shoe fits ...

By tommciver |

Drive south along the Mississippi from Minneapolis on Bob Dylan's iconic Highway 51 and before long you will come to the lovely little town of Red Wing. Red Wing Shoes store and museum is slap bang in the middle of the town and is wonderful! A great little museum (includes the world's biggest boot!) and they make the finest boots and shoes in the world. Well worth a stop!

Fun museum to visit!

By mprochn |

This is a small museum, but very interesting to visit. The museum gives the history of Red Wing Shoes. The displays are neat to see and realize the progress that the company has made with its product...shoes and boots.

Be sure to take your photo next to the giant boot in the entry way.

Would recommend this as a place to stop if ever in Red Wing, MN.

Great baragins in the lower level!

By KathyCon37 |

Beautiful modern store in the heart of Red Wing. Lot's of beautiful items, including their line of study and fashionable women's boots.

Great deals in basement

By Lynn D |

Not only can you check out the giant Red Wing boot but there are some great deals to be found. There is a great selection of Red Wings finest shoes and boots ect. on the main floor where the boot is located. Just don't forget to check out the basement for some really great deals.

Cool Store/History

By Deb S |

The real deal Red Wing boots & apparel! The interactive history of the Red Wing brand. Downtown Red Wing is very quaint with shops & restaurants.

Fun place to visit and see the giant boot

By stevesSNBMN |

We always stop in here when we're in Red Wing, not just to see the huge boot but to see if there's any good deals on shoes and boots that we might enjoy.

Redwing Trip

By Kristin J |

This is definitely worth a look! No admission fee, and the staff are very friendly and willing to help out with your boot photo-op. Great pick!

Wow, great shoes!

By littlejet |

This was an unexpectedly fun stop. The massive shoe is a real shoe made of the same materials as their regular shoes. It was made by their staff and retired staff. The place is infused with the rich smell of leather. These shoes are pricey but you can tell they are top-notch, well-made, and worth every penny. Staff were sincere and helpful, not pushy. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Great quick stop

By Jamie K |

Yep we saw the shoe. The store was a bit expensive for my tastes but the shoe really impressed the kids. We spent like 20 mins total looking at the shoe taking pictures and checking out the upstairs museum.

fun place to visit...

By Sandy S |

The Red Wing Shoe Store and Museum was a really fun place to visit. It is a must, as it is what the town of Red Wing is named for....Go, it is a fun place to see.

Enjoyable

By pattio_12 |

The big Big boot is on display in the store. Up stairs there is an informative photo display of the history of the factory as well as a video showing how shoes are made. We did not get to go to the actual factory as their was no tour going on the day we were there. We found this very enjoyable.

You Have to See the World Record Largest Boot

By ReadRibbet |

We wanted to check off this roadside attraction as we were traveling Highway 61 from Winona to Red Wing. The world's largest boot is actually on display in a Red Wing store across the street from Red Wing corporate headquarters in downtown Red Wing. The store is in a nice downtown area with some street parking. Admission to the museum is free. While the boot is the main attraction, there is a historical information disapply on the second floor. There is also a wall of fame saluting individuals who spent their careers in Red Wing boots. You can purchase Red Wing products in the store and some discounted merchandise is available in the basement.

Large Boot 👍

By dllrschll |

Husband had Red Wing work boots at one time and Daughter has a friend with a size 17 foot SO it was fun to see the large boot, see the history of Red Wing shoes, and see what Red Wing Shoes are presently selling.

Most are made in the USA !

By Steve G |

Loved the giant boot in the entry ! Sadly they did not have the shoe I wanted in my size . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Interesting

By Linda E |

I loved watching the movies about how the shoes are made. A lot of time and many different steps are needed to make a pair of shoes and it made me realize that the prices for their shoes are quite worth it. The big shoe is cool and great for pictures.

Great time, knowledgeable staff.

By ShellyOhlsson |

I feel like the museum part was done excellently. Very cool seeing what goes into making the boots! At the end of the day...their objective is to sell shoes, but they take the time with people who are there just looking and seeing the museum as well. We had a great time! No pressure to buy, just allowed us to have an enjoyable visit.

Red Wing Shoe Store

By Tim B |

The world's largest boot. What more need I say?

The store is beautiful - looks like a high end Manhattan joint, but staffed by charming ladies who can't help but be friendly. If you're in the area, well worth a visit.

Interesting

By I2300DAdianek |

Great place to visit. Good history and better shopping. Need 100 words. I am a person of few words. If in the area stop by.

Giant Boot is a Hoot

By P8743KEsusanh |

Seeing the huge boot was a hoot. It's REAL, made exactly like a regular boot would be in the factory. There's a museum upstairs and an outlet store in the basement. This probably an attraction for adults and younger kids. Preteens and teens might be a bit bored. It was worth the detour we (two adult women) made to see it, though.

Not that interesting

By Jeanie A |

Pro - The BIG Boot
Cons - Pricing, staffing

I Love shoes, but even after two separate trips to this museum/store, I am unimpressed and have yet to make a purchase. The same goes for my husband.

Great Shoe store!

By HistoricalTraveler |

When in Red Wing - EVERYONE has to go see the BIG Red Wing Boot! There also is a huge selection of Red Wing products to check out while there.

Iconic store - how can you resist?

By Betty S |

I grew up in Red Wing, and my family was involved in the leather business. So a trip to the Red Wing Shoe Store was imperative for me.
Although they started with work boots only, RW Shoes now makes a large variety of shoe and boot types for everyday and work.
Quality? Unequaled. The men's and women's shoes and boots will last a lifetime, no question.
I bought so much!

A shoe big enough to live in

By Novalee I |

I was cool to see a 638 size shoe. They also had an old sewing machine that the shoes were made on. Had a display of some of the older shoes, and how they were made. It was cool to see. Takes about 10 minutes to see every thing at the red wing shoe museum

Interesting !

By jeanper56 |

Very interesting to see the history of the Red Wing Shoe and how the original boots are made but the store, not so much. Prices even in the downstairs "outlet" are ridiculous. Fun to go to but not for shopping !

Great place to visit

By Sheila W |

Was open earlier than a lot of other shops so visit here first. The giant boot was really cool. Prices are expensive but the museum was free.

Free

By Farmerswife0910 |

Its nothing special a big boot is fun to take a picture by. It was free so its not that is was not worth the money.

The world's biggest boot..

By glendjoachim |

As a visitor to Minnesota and to the quaint little city of RedWing, I knew that I had to see the world's biggest boot..my son wears RedWing boots for his job so all the more reason to visit..I was not disappointed..the Museum though small is chock full of info and history..I did not focus much on the ground floor and did not even realise there was a basement shoes outlet..I was more taken up with the Museum information and taking pics..was worth it..right now that boot is my facebook profile pic!!

"Attraction" ? I guess so

By LizAndPogo |

We pretty much stopped in because it was Sunday and not much else to do. Yes, they have a 15' work boot in the front of the store (real leather - I would have thought plastic) and yes, Red Wing is a terrific work boot, and yes, the snippets of history were of interest, but it's a stretch to say this is an attraction.

You need to see the size of this boot!

By toelle |

Sure, Red Wing shoes and boots are expensive, But even if you don't plan buying any, go to the store on Main Street and see this huge boot that would easily fit on the foot of the Jolly Green Giant! If you go around the heel of the boot, a staircase will take you to the outlet store in the lower level. There were some real bargains to be found on the day we were there on outlet clearance shoes and boots for both men and women...I am talking more than 50% off on some items.

If you're interested in the history of Red Wing boot making, on this lower level there is a short documentary on a flat screen TV in a separate viewing room.

Lots of interesting info on the history of RW shoes.

By Lindzard81 |

There is a giant shoe...which my niece loves. There is also a factual video about the history of red wing shoes as well as things to read, things to look at and what not. It will not take long to get through the museum part but they do offer a lot of interesting information. This is also where you can buy red wing shoes. It will probably take you more time to look through all the shoes but if in downtown red wing, it's worth a visit.

Interesting stop

By Gary Y |

Enjoyed the stop at the Red Wing store. Working in the construction field and wearing some of their products made the museum and store more interesting. Knowing you have touched the biggest shoe in world is worth the stop.

The Real Deal

By Bonnie B |

If you want the original, here's the place. Helpful staff. Have shopped outlet and sales prior, but wanted slippers for Christmas present. Sales rep informed as to return if needed, but husband loved them as they fit well, and quality indicated they will last.

What A Shoe!

By Paul M |

We had a wonderful time in Red Wing, MN and this was a must see stop. We have always enjoyed the comfort of their shoes so to visit while in town was a must. Downstairs you will find many shoe bargains, they also have a museum per say of the Red Wing Factory and making of this business. Then od course you have the worlds largest shoe!

Really nice shoe store.

By faust1380 |

There is a museum on the top floor. Friendly staff. The largest boot in the world is hard to miss and a must see.

If you like Red Wing shoes, stop here.

By Julie H |

If you like Red Wing shoes, stop here, explore the museum, and buy a pair of Red Wings. There is an outlet in the basement.

No

By Steve P |

Although the people were very nice, the museum left a lot to be desired. The picture with the “worlds largest boot” was a very nice touch.

Very Fascinating

By Mark G |

We came to Red Wing, Minnesota, on a Thursday and discovered that tours of the factory are only given on Fridays. Not a problem as we still enjoyed going through the store and the museum upstairs. They make an incredible variety of shoes and boots and a great place to shop if you are looking for a certain boot or shoe - they have it all. The staff was very helpful even though we didn't have a need for shoes or boots. If you have the time, browse through the store - very cool stuff.

Interesting

By Julie E |

As a child I grew up with Red Wing shoe salesmen coming to our door once a year with shoes to fit my Dad. It is an interesting experience to read and see the history behind Red Wing shoes. I would definitely recommend this museum.

Just exploring

By Anthony P |

Just was seeing the sites of Red Wing and decided to see the iconic store. The museum upstairs was neat. We liked the video on how the shows are made. It was also neat to see how shoes looked 100 years ago and how they have changed over time.

The store was great. We have a store near where we live, but have never been in it. There are a lot of shoes in the Red Wing store. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We did not go there to buy shoes, but ended up with a pair for me and insoles for my wife. Nothing beats a new pair of leather shoes that were properly fitted by a pro.

The Huge Boot

By Bonnie E |

I told my husband I wanted to stop to see the huge boot and he reluctantly came with. I don't think he was disappointed! This boot is two stories high. The people at Red Wing Store and Museum were very friendly and helpful. One employee asked if we wanted to have our picture taken next to the boot. It definitely adds perspective to the size of the boot, so I recommend doing this. There is a Red Wing outlet store in the lower level where you may find some bargains. The main floor is the regular sales floor. I saw an interesting display that shows how the boots are made start to finish. Since my son wears Red Wing boots every day for work, I found this interesting.

Biggest Boot you'll ever see

By kayakdeb2 |

Always love stopping here when in the area. Interesting museum. Clean well organized store, don't forget to go downstairs. Very helpful staff.

One Big Shoe

By squatchmeb |

See the largest Red Wing boot made, a history of the brand, and an outlet store.

Great boots at good prices.

A Big Shoe!

By Judith B |

Visited the museum which is in the Red Wing the Store on Main Street. Interesting and highlights the business's history to the area.

History with a fashionable flare

By 850lauriel |

What can I say, I love to shop for quality shoes, but I thoroughly enjoyed the small museum that told the history of the Red Wing shoes. Their shoe displays were very attractive. I loved the historical accents used in their displays. Staff helpful. Good prices in outlet section down stairs.

By drbsick |

The museum of the history of the shoes and how they make the shoes was interesting. The outlet section of the store we a great place to get a good deal on boots. I had no intention on getting boots when I went there but I could not pass up the deal. The world 's biggest leather boot was awesome - pictures do not do it justice .

Great Museum

By Jason C |

If you ever want to know the history of Red Wing shoes this is a great place to stop. Kids Will have some fun. And you can find some good deals on shoes

Excellent personnel

By InTheMidwest4Life |

It was a treat to find this store and strike up a conversation with an employee who has worked for them over his lifetime. Very nice quality—pricey but then one should know that going into it.

The Largest Boot Ever

By Richard M |

This is the store for the famous Red Wing boots and shoes. You can see the largest boot ever, 16 feet tall, 20 feet long, 7 feet wide, size 638 D in the store's entryway. You can also buy Red Wing boots, shoes and clothing. This is a must visit.

Really glad we stopped in

By CSkaggs |

Had to stop by and see this big boot! Red Wing Shoes couldn't have done it any better. Fun to see how others react when they walk in the store and see this.

Cool place!

By LindaJean16 |

Very nice store-sort of upscale but casual. Nice selection of shoes. The bargain sale stuff in the lower level is amazing. I bought a pair of casual dress shoes there and they were well. Service is spotty as there isn't very many employees. If its really busy your pretty much on your own. Must see the big boot in the window and take your picture!

A bit of fun to tour the Shoes and the Museam

By LOveouting |

Red Wing is nothing like any of the big cities. It is a very small town, with a lttle bit of industries such as Leather boots making, etc. I guess in a small town as RW, a visit to the Shoes Store/Museum can well be a must and you will not miss it as it is in a main street.

So Interesting!

By jm0516 |

We loved stopping by for a selfie with the largest Red Wing boot! The store was clean and has a museum and factory to check out!

Nice visit

By Lane W |

Interesting history of the company. Man do they make a lot more than work boots. The variety of sizes is mind boggling. Nice to see they branched into mode hiking gear.

Great deals and awesome photo op!

By MisterBrick |

Beautiful store and museum. World's Largest Boot makes a great photo op and you can find fantastic deals on "seconds' in their bargain basement. Worth stopping in!

Go to the clearance floor for a deal!

By uzengirl |

Husband found a great pair of chukkas discounted 50%!! There's more of a selection for men than women in shoes but vice versa for the clothes offered.

Museum and shopping in one building

By kathymY1120SY |

You can't miss the world's largest boot on display in the Red Wing store in Red Wing, MN. Museum is well organized and easy to view quickly. Regular store on main level, and outlet store on lower level.

Nice place

By Rhonda W |

My husband was like a little kid and needed a photo taken by the giant shoe, but we were there for a purpose. He found some great boots which will suffice for hiking and winter snows, both. We had to wait a bit for someone to help, but she was knowledgeable when she was finally free.

Fun & interesting

By rocky0424 |

Of course the big attraction is the big boot in the lobby. Upstairs there is a small "museum" that has some interesting displays. Downstairs they have machines that will measure each of your feet to get the "perfect" othodic for you.

The Murphys

By Heather M |

This is a wonderful place to visit. There is lots of history inside of the actual red wing shoe store. The staff are very friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have. I would go here again.

Came to see the big boot

By Frumpydog |

We wanted to see the worlds largest boot and that is what we did! There’s an upstairs that has history of Red Wing boots that was interesting. They have an outlet store in the basement. Was a pretty neat store and best of all to see the boot is free!

Selfie with the Giant Boot

By franny60 |

As soon as you walk in the door, you are greeted by the giant boot. Stand in the appropriately marked spot for the perfect selfie. Their basement sale area holds some good bargains.

Outstanding Shop and Museum

By L R D |

This is a great combined shoe store, outlet store and museum featuring Red Wing shoes/boots . Recommend

The ginormous Red Wing boot - must see!

By SuperSnorkeler |

Had no idea about this but just decided to stop in. Loved the museum! Very well done for a shoe store museum - well, then, I guess I've never been to one before. Lots of interesting history, old boots, photos, customer testimonials, and of course the largest boot in the world (per Guiness World Record). The boots for sale were outrageously priced, but then we're not the 1% that could afford them ($350 for women's boots). But we thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

Fun Stop

By Cindy J |

I wouldn't say this is something you should go out of your way for but if you are in the area and pass up the opportunity to see the World's Largest Boot, you have no spirit of adventure. The museum at the top of the shop is an interesting history of the company along with various models of their boots over the years.

shoes!

By Mary P |

Happened by on their warehouse sale. Found great deals! placed was packed and crowded, but worth the hassle. Beautiful area as well. Red Wing Pottery was nice too.

Women's shoes

By janebE2503FJ |

The company store in downtown Red Wing has the largest selection of the new women's line. Gorgeous shoes at great value.

Nice pastime

By spatts |

One floor with nice displays of history of company, how shoes are made. etc. The "wall of fame" showing old Red Wing work boots identify owner, occupation and city was interesting, as was the giant boot.

A Red Wing landmark

By sco22512 |

Fun to see the “big boot” and browse the basement outlet store (the regular priced items were $$$$). The small history exhibit upstairs is interesting and educational. A true Red Wing landmark!

Interesting

By IronMountainWife |

Interesting because we've used their shoes...looked at museum videos of shoe making and pics of their history. Their shoes are an investment, but worth it if you need a work/outdoor boot.

Red Wing Shoes Story

By nanceb1439 |

My sister, her son and I visited this store and museum. My sister-in-law has worked in the factory making these shoes and boots for 23 years....and my father wore these boots his entire mason career. From the beginning of this business to current boots were stories and displays of shoes from then and now. There is also an area for anyone to try on a career outfit with the appropriate boot to match viewing themselves in a mirror. We also got to take our photograph by a giant "Red Wing Boot". It is free and fun, check it out.

A quick but necessary stop

By Jean G |

The giant boot makes this worth the stop. Upstairs is a small but informative museum. Worth the 30 minute stop.

He was cold towards one customer from the head office.

By Wanderer24068074659 |

I didn't go to America, but from my experience with email in Japan>
They just deleted the low rating, and there was no apology from the USA headquarters. In fact, I asked RedWing USA about the product using Google Translate, but they ignored me! I asked several times after that, but they ignored me, and then they just passed it on to RedWing Japan (the Japanese company has a good attitude). This is a corporate misconduct and can be called an insult to the user. As a hugely successful company, they should be able to handle each customer as they like. But I wish they would put themselves in my shoes. I was shocked and felt very betrayed because it was my favorite manufacturer.

I loved them, but I won't be buying them again in the future. They should have been sincere with the lamb. Even though it was a translation software, I tried my best to ask the question, so they should have somehow understood and responded as much as they could.

I also commented on the American Red Wing YouTube channel, but it was hidden, and I think they probably made it Black Squirrel. They don't understand that it's nice to be humble and apologize. I wrote this article because I should comment on this for the facts. The US headquarters should change their attitude and reply to me with an apology. It's not possible now because the email address has changed, but I'd appreciate it if you could reply via this blog. It was a really disappointing attitude of the American Red Wings. Sorry for complaining.

Nice shop with some great old photos

By Garry |

Red Wing is a great little town on the mighty Mississippi and worth a day or two of wandering the lazy, attractive, compact town. One of the good stops was the Red Wing shoe store and museum. nostalgic photos, great smell of leather boots, comfortable environment. The giant boot was one of the highlights. Gotta have your picture taken standing next to this great stomper.

The Museum is Well Worth the Trip

By Thomas D |

The Red Wing Boot Museum is definitely worth a trip, especially if you are already staying in town. The Big Boot is an attraction in itself, but the upstairs museum with equipment and boots and shoes from the company's past and a terrific pictorial history is a terrific flashback from the days when Americans made EVERYTHING.

The products in the basement discount outlet aren't as "discounted" as you might hope, but you sometimes will find a terrific bargain when a particular item is almost out of stock. That, of course, means the sizes available are really limited.

Son shoes

By Justforfun1211 |

Red wing shoes are not Walmart shoes. My son has a odd size foot and only wears dress shoes. Downstairs is the aged and clarence shoes. This location also has museum pieces

Interesting Stop

By Kitty303 |

Decided to stop in to look at the huge boot it is massive. Ended up buying a nice pair of hiking boots. Staff was very friendly & very knowledgeable.

Fun Time

By KaitRose |

We came for the annual Red Wing Warehouse Sale--which is completely worth going to. I got three pairs of boots for less than one pair at regular price and I know they will last forever. It was actually well organized for such a large sale and so many people. Someone in line told us to check out the regular store downtown and I am glad we did. The giant boot was so cool and it's actually a real boot made of all of the materials (unlike the giant boots outside of L.L. Bean stores). The museum upstairs was concise and informative. The clearance room in the downstairs had a lot of boots I had never seen before and the main level of the store had a ton of shoe options and some that are limited edition.

One Visit is Not Enough!

By Noreen O |

I can't count on my two hands how many times I've taken family and friends to see this amazing boot. The history, skilled crafters, the retail store and great staff make this a destination not just a shoe store/museum.

The World’s Biggest Boot is Glorious

By llwid |

This was an unexpected stop on our trip to the area for a wedding. The museum is small but informative and free. The boot was super fun. We also bought a pair of work boots so a productive trip to boot. Very charming and walkable town. Really enjoyed it.

Big Boot Gimmick

By Michelle D |

Honestly, it is an expensive shoe store with just the boot for character. I have a hard time calling it an "Attraction."

High end shoes for work and comfort

By Happy T |

If you are buying work boots the first brand that comes to mind is Red Wing. They have expanded their products to include a wide variety of dress, comfort, running and hiking shoes, boots including cowboy boots.

We were at the store for their annual sale during the fall art festival. They kept supplying inventory as fast as it went out of the door. It is a day to mark on your calendar because it comes around once every year.

FUN

By Michelle G |

My 5 yr old loved the big boot, my husband like the shoe selection, and the museum was neat, you could see how a boot is made, made of, and who uses them.

The big highlight is seeing the World's Largest Boot

By WorldTravelers34 |

We visited the Red Wing Shoe Store & Museum during a recent stay in Red Wing. This company is definitely part of the local culture. Inside their lobby is the world’s largest boot, a size 638 1/2 that stands at over 20 feet tall. Aside from its enormous size, the world's largest boot was built using the very same design and materials used to build the Red Wing Shoes classic style number 877. The boot serves as a testament to the craftsmanship and unmistakable quality of Red Wing Shoes footwear. While we were in the store we ended purchasing some hiking boots. Most of their products are made in the U.S.A. The quality is superb and shoes and boots here last years. They'll cost you though anywhere from $200 - $300+ a pair.

Good photo op.

By MelWilt |

Wanted to stop and see the giant boot. Was nice to walk through the museum part. The store wasn't really for me (or my family). We enjoyed the history part of it. It's a quick stop, 20 minutes top.

A small stop by

By Lea T |

The big boot is something you need to knock off your list when you are in town. It is linked with the retail shop and up on the second floor shows the history and how it all started. The big boot is huge and it material is the original material they use for a regular red wing shoe.

Come for the big boot, stay for the rest!

By Casse No-i |

Things we love to do while road tripping: explore unique local attractions/oddities, shop, learn about history, and eat.

Of course this place isn’t a restaurant, but it did nail all the other four activities in one beautiful, big, clean venue... with a friendly staff to boot!

Glad it was free

By red69hoss |

Small but interesting. Not many artifacts but some good info and photographs. If you're in Red Wing stop for a visit. Its free after all.

See The Giant Leather Work Boot.

By Bud S |

This was a fun stop while in Red Wing. There is a greeter that meets you as you walk in and tells you the store layout if it is your first time there. Museum upstairs, outlet store down stairs and full retail store on the main floor. The giant Red Wing work boot is right there when you walk in the door. My daughter spent about an hour trying on boots.

Interesting stuff about the shoes you never knew!

By schmelzlefam88 |

This is an interesting museum and store (basement has clearance however be wary, some prices down there are more than you'd find on amazon for the same products)

A Red Wing visit

By JoAnn A |

You can't come to Red Wing without visiting the store and museum. Staff is friendly and helpful. Large variety for men and women and prices.

OK visit to an historical shoe maker.

By larhee |

OK visit to shoe shop. I learned about the history of these work shoes and the process of making them. The tour itself was self-guided and had a video. Also in the space was the actual shoe store. It was just ok.

Worth a Visit

By panimae |

Interesting museum and displays on how their famous boots are made. Outlet has prices as low as 80% off with wide variety of sizes.
If you have a little time, stop in and browse.

That's a big shoe

By pskruse |

We just had to stop and see the BIG Redwing Work Boot while we were visiting. Quite an impressive sight! It was interesting going through the museum to see the origin of the best work boot made. While you are there you can shop for a new pair of boots!

Great Store

By Hammie595 |

We hit this store during a big clearance sale. Lots of good deals. It's bigger than it looks. Make sure you get downstairs!

Fun and interestung

By Betsy H |

Fun place to visit. Employees were very friendly. Downstairs has clearance area. A must place to visit. Fun to get photos by the bit Red Wing boot.

Big Boot

By Becky W |

We enjoyed browsing through the museum and watching the boot making process.
Was hoping to find a shoe size to fit my feet but they only make up to size 11 in womens shoes/boots. Did not surprise me.
Rather use to that. Plus if they did have a size 12 it probably would have been a wide as well which still wouldn't have fit.
However must see the store and museum.
Very friendly staff more eager to tell the boot business than to sell boots.

must see attraction

By Brenda O |

We had so much fun at this museum slash store..even though its located in our hometown..We were like tourist the first time there . They have the worlds biggest work boot and a staircase going all the way to the top.If you go don"t miss the bathrooms they are totally awesome the faucet comes out of the mirror and they have old work tools embedded in the counter tops !! Way cool

Great store

By SleeplessNH |

Cool museum, very friendly staff. Good selection of boots and shoes. I bought new winter hiking boots on the clearance rack.

Nice museun

My stay

By Steve S |

The factory has been there for ever. High quality products. I have bought boots in the past. I had a pair of their work gloves that lasted for almost 5 years. Just bought two more pairs.

Great store

By thewarden501 |

This is a very nice store and the staff are great. A fun place to stop and check out great shoes and boots

Much funner than anticipated

By indianaseth |

We stopped in here as I'm a red wing boot fan. They have the world's largest boot on display, as well as a museum exhibit which was neat. It's also a store, with current production shoes upstairs and an outlet downstairs with discontinued items and factory seconds downstairs. The older gentleman upstairs was so nice and friendly, showed us all kinds of products and told stories. If I could have justified buying a new pair of red wings from him I would have. Downstairs my wife bought a pair of Vasque hiking shoes for a very good price, and the lady was very friendly and helpful, made sure the shoes fit well and was extremely knowledgeable about shoes. We probably spend near an hour looking around. I found a pair of USA made red wings with metatarsal guards for $100, and I couldn't justify not buying them for that price. We had more fun in a shoe store then I ever had before in my life.

worth the drive

By connie |

We went to the Red Wing Museum in search of a good value on Red Wing Boots. We were not disappointed. Not only is there a great retail store but a fantastic outlet in the basement with amazing prices. The museum was well worth seeing as well and don't forget to have your picture taken next to the world's largest boot! Well worth the trip.

Want to see something huge?

By Mary Ann C |

This is a big, big , big leather boot. You can smell the leather in the store. Downstairs there is a shoe outlet for Red Wing boots and up stairs there is a small museum that tells you the history of the boots. It is the worlds largest boot! HUGE!!!!

Good Selection

By Heddy G |

Good selection of factory seconds etc to get you a pair at a small discount. Photo op with the giant boot a must

downtown destination

By mckinleys |

The Red Wing Shoe store & Museum is a great family destination in downtown Red Wing, Mn. It is interesting and educational watching the art of shoe making. The giant boot inside the store is a fantastic photo opportunity. The store is clean and well put together with an outdoor theme and some unique props. The staff there is so friendly and knowledgeable about the products they sell. You can buy fantastic foot wear that is made in the great USA!!!

Not That Exciting!

By carlkerby |

The big boot was cool to look at. Other then that, I'm not sure I'd ever go back. I went to the "cheap" section downstairs, there's nothing cheap there. Pretty spendy for me.

Get Booted

By lee k. |

I never, ever thought I would one, go to a shoe museum, and two, walk away thoroughly impressed! The biggest boot in the world was neat, but the museum upstairs gave me a whole new appreciation for shoes.

A nice shopping experience and museum for Redwing shoes.

By JHeskin |

A nice store. World's largest boot is very cool. Interesting Redwing shoe museum upstairs, Outlet store on the lowest level.

Amazing heritage amazing, and life long value. Love it!
Watch for there summer sale :)

An excellent stop to see the history of Red Wing

By hmageskigreatlakes |

I had some time to kill before going to a Jerry Lee Lewis Concert at Treasure Island Casino so I decided to go uptown. Enjoyed my tour through the museum and purchased a pair of walking shoes rather than boots. A great place to see the history of the brand.

Make this your destination!

By abndoc7 |

I was originally going to visit a Red Wing store in the Minneapolis area but my son convinced me we should go to the main store. I'm so glad we did!! It is a beautiful store with a vast array of shoes plus a museum and discount basement. Our sales lady was very helpful and wonderful to work with. (Of course we got a pair of boots!!!!!) Lunch at the Staghead around the corner was the BEST. My only regret is that we didn't have more time to explore the city itself.

Got a really nice pair of casual shoes

By Keith |

I found a perfect pair of shoes for casual wear, and they were reasonably priced. The museum part of the store was interesting, and the smell of leather was wonderful. Loved it!

interesting shop & museum

By Flker1 |

Go to see the " Wall " - people who have donated their old boots and the story behind them. This is a new addition to the museum and really shows how a Good Boot will last !

This is a cool store and the service is great. Make sure you take a picture with the worlds largest boot!

Beautiful Store

By SamirMoosa |

I had heard and used Red Wing products for a long time now. So when I got an opportunity to visit the town, I couldn't miss the chance to see their store which is located in the downtown area. The place is huge with a mezzanine and a basement wherein all aspects of shoe making and an excellent collection of all possible models ever made is displayed. I never knew that there were so many different safety shoe types till I actually saw them and understood the utility of each. The lady who manages the store was very helpful in understanding how the entire process takes place. Of course the main attraction is the world's largest shoe which is made to size. Absolutely marvellous work of art. Overall a very informative visit.

This is a Red Wing Must

By Steve L |

If you think you know Red Wing Shoe Company, try again

The store has shoes and ancillary products from Red Wing you haven't seen.

Lots of t's, fleeces, bags and all sorts of gift option.

The upstairs is the mini-museum with some iconic pix of Red Wings, and tells the stories of how they are made at such great quality.

The downstairs is the discount outlet.

Priced well, there are some great buys downstairs.

Any fan, new or old, will find something of interest and you will be surprised at the breadth of products offered

World's biggest boot and museam

By Jeff H |

The museum was very interesting as it showed all of the steps involved with making a boot. I spent an hour there when I thought that I would be in and out quickly.

Super cool!

By Giana S |

What an underrated attraction! Very interesting to see the history behind the boots and personal stories of users. Also cool to see how the boots are made, and of course, the giant boot is pretty cool. Never would have thought this store would be so cool, but it was a great stop for an hour.

BIG BOOT!

By Lisa W |

I love the smell of leather when you walk in. There were some very interesting displays and videos playing. Worth stopping in for a look.

Now thats a boot!

By MnWonderer |

If you have not visited the red wing shoe store you must. The boot is huge. The old women in the shoe sure could have used it! The store is wonderful and the Red Wing shoes are fantastic.

Quick stop while in downtown Red Wing

By AndyB5542 |

We stopped at the Red Wing museum after lunch around the corner. This little museum details the history of Red Wing boots. The best part is the giant boot.

Admission is free. There is plenty of free on street parking in the area.

Interesting stop in a Retail store

By Jayne-Annie |

This store has a small museum devoted to the Red Wing boot factory. If you own the boots or are a history buff this 15 minute side trip is fun. It is free to the public. The discount area is hit or miss depending on what is avaible at the time. I came out with a pair of $10.00 steel toed leather tennishoes. Great deal as they were clearancing out the model.Go in with an open mind then you will discover deals.

Two day trip

By Bob C |

We stopped in here and went upstairs to museum. It was very informative. Downstairs we had our feet measured and analyzed. There are ver informed staff.

Giant boot was fun to see

By Ann S |

Had to check out the giant boot. Great photo opp. Store on main floor history center top floor. Nothing too exciting. Outlet lower level, quite expensive, but high quality

Now that's one big boot!

By MNGrandma55 |

Fun to see and take pictures. You just have to. Stop by and walk through the store. A little pricey for my taste but good quality.

Pretty cool store and history lesson combined

By Teresa Teresa |

Love the personal service. When you need safety shoes, this is the place to go. Lots of variety and every size in stock. Cute gift items and historical information everywhere.

Interesting Bit of History

By gloriamaris |

The Red Wing shoe Store and Museum is a must if you visit this town. The huge boot is amazing, but learning what a well made product they carry was enlightening. The shoes may seem a bit expensive but there is an outlet center in the basement for those with limited funds.

Had to see the Largest boot

By Kari K |

It was brought to our attention as we said we drove by the factory in town. My Dad has worn these his whole life as he does road 🚧construction. He also had a very large & wide foot so this company has helped a lot of people with those issues! Amazing history friendly sales gal. Great products.

Biggest boot!

By Danielle J |

Nice to know information on shoes and take a photo with the largest boot!

The customer service was stellar.

Comfortable chairs if you need a walking or weather break :)

Turned out to be a good stop

By Amy W |

We hadn't planned to go here, but my husband forgot his hiking boots for our weekend trip. We stopped at the big boot, actually pretty cool, then shopped in the basement. He found a great deal on a fantastic pair of shoes. I wish I had needed some. We didn't go to the museum, but I bet it would have been more interesting than expected. Really nice store, great deals downstairs, great splurges upstairs.

Bring your kids and your camera

By txjsr |

The kids will love this place. While they cannot climb on the largest boot in the world, they'll certainly want you to take a picture of them being "stomped" by the boot.

The museum includes red wing boots in a variety of situations. Very hands on for the kids and the kid in all of us.

The store also has a nice collection of Red Wing branded products for you to purchase.

Gotta check out the BIG boot

By 549edc |

OK, so you are near Red Wing Minnesota and you've never visited the downtown store and museum. Please, please stop in and look around. They have some very interesting displays of their shoes history and they have this 20 foot tall massive boot in the lobby. It costs nothing to come in and look around. You will certainly want to get pictures of yourselves standing by the boot. Shop all their official Red Wing shoe merchandise including hats, shirts, cups and many other things as well as shoes and boots.

Nice Small Museum, gift shop, stop if you are in the area

By Love2TravelUS |

If you are in Red Wing, this is a must see stop. There is a HUGE Red Wing Boot as you walk in the door, made of over 80 animal skins for the leather. There is a small museum upstairs, gift shop/store on the main level and discount items located downstairs. Neat to see the boot, especially if traveling with children.

A Small place - its just the Big Shoe

By rssankar |

The big Shoe would stare at you when you enter the museum/store so its hard to miss it - may be 5-10 mins and you would not know what to do next inside the store.

Other than the shoe its just a ordinary Shoe Store which sells shoes/tshirts/caps. I did not bought one so i could not vouch for that. I did wanted to buy one and tried 4 different sizes but none of them fit me well and felt uncomfortable with all the sizes i tried .There is a basement where the prices are a little bit less but the prices are still higher than what you could get via online:(

Great Shoes Made in Town

By TJTT |

If you like American-craftsman shoes, look no further. The boots and hiking shoes are proudly made in Red Wing and the craftsmanship shows. Make sure you head downstairs for the reduced price shoes.

What a Boot!

By sandra s |

The business day was nearly over when we reached Red Wing, home of the Big Boot. We still had time to see the Red Wing store's stock. I thought boots were the sole product, but, no! Tees, sweats... Well, see for yourself. But you have to see the giant boot!

Excellent

By Watermelon5802 |

When strolling through Red Wing this place is a good one to go to. You might hear about the big boot and how cool it is. It is made out of the same materials as the actual shoes and is a nice place to take a quick picture. The service at the shoe store is very good as they are quick to help and want the best for you. When you walk in, you’ll see many people trying on shoes in the middle section of the store with much help from the employees. Upstairs there is a small area for background information of Red Wing Shoes and many cool things to read about. When you walk downstairs they have all the 2nds, which are the shoes that weren’t as they wanted them resulting in a lower price. Most likely you wouldn’t even notice any defect in the shoe, the workers just didn’t think they were up to the standards they have set. The actual shoes are very durable and functional. Depending on if you get work boots, dress boots, or just casual shoes, they are all very good quality and are stylish.

Love the product and received Amazing service.

By Inspire38904 |

It was fun to see the world's largest boot but loved the product (boots, shoes and apparel). The Service was really good. We were greeted at the door and when we needed help Matt was very knowledgeable about their products. He made some great recommendations and we found exactly what we needed. Thanks Matt.

Outlet area doesn't offer many bargains like they used to!

By MisterBrick |

The world's largest boot is still there which is cool. They carry nice products at a high quality price to match. The "bargain area" in the basement is no longer much of a "bargain." I will skip this the next time I come to town.

Interesting

By N8 H |

Very quaint store with a lot of variety! It was interesting to be able to see the history of the shoes and take a look at the largest shoe in the world!

Interesting

By VHS-65 |

Museum upstairs tells the whole story of Red Wing shoes. There are old, worn old shoes and stories of people who wore them. Photo op with a huge shoe by the front door, too.

Home of an iconic American brand

By Topher77 |

The one place you can see, touch and try on the entire shoe line of Red Wing including all their afiliated brands: Vasque, WORX and Irish Setter. If you can't find durable shoes you like here maybe your name is Mr Ed and you should visit a blacksmith!

Giant Boot

By pattylinn22 |

The giant boot at the Red Wing Shoe Store & Museum, was impressive to see and we had a lot of family fun taking photos.

My husband's favorite store in the world!

By denaandkevin |

We were visiting family during the time that their warehouse sale was going on and we got some great deals on boots for my husband. Red Wing boots are what he wears year round, even with his shorts! We shopped both in the warehouse and the store and had great service from everyone we dealt with.

interesting stop for Red Wing Shoe fans

By 2walkonh2o |

We stopped on our way home from the twin cities. My husband wears Red Wing shoes for work and enjoyed stopping at the store. The boot is just inside and set up with a selfie camera that you can take a picture and email to yourself. Found the early machines and boots from years gone by intriguing. We also checked out the Duluth Trading store next door. Two complimentary stores. Nice to have them right next to each other. We were just passing through town but the town looks like a nice place to spend an afternoon or day at.

Interesting history

By Melyssa E |

The kids liked the giant boot very much. Taking a selfie with this boot is a must if you visit the store and museum. The museum upstairs is small yet quite informative. (It is also free). Lots of displays and videos.

A little bit of shoe and history here

By vikingink |

This is a must stop ! Besides seeing some Red Wing History, there is a great shoe store down stairs with great sales.

Kitschy and Fun

By Joan Fagnani M |

Red Wing is a cute town, largely centered around the shoe company. It's quaint and mostly lovely.

A must visit is the shoe factory store/outlet/Museum. The volume of inventory they have available is amazing. If you think they only sell work boots, you must visit. They have Vasque sporting shoes for hiking, trekking, running, cross training, as well as some more fashionable women's shoes. Plus, they offer a huge range of sizes and widths.

But the most fun has to be the HUGE shoe in the front of the store. We spent more time shopping than at the museum--20 minutes is enough there, but it does have some interesting info.

As throughout Minnesota, the people are truly nice and very helpful. For those of us from major cities, though, it can seem difficult, so adjust your attitude to understand they are really nice.

Giant shoe. Well made

By Explore09876 |

Smells like leather. Great. Beautiful shoes. Leather. Expensive. Nice history. Giant shoe is really neat

Nice Stop

By Jeff W |

We were recently on a trip traveling through Red Wing and decided to make a stop to check it out. We really enjoyed seeing the Red Wing boot history and how they make their product. Very well done! Pretty cool giant boot on display when you enter, had to take a picture with it. Nice selection of boots and shoes on the main floor. Bargain shop in the basement was certainly worth a look. Definitely worth the stop.

The World's largest boot!

By Mossi63 |

It is amazing to see how big this boot really is. Come a see it. The museum is really interesting and definitely worth visiting while you are in Red Wing. Cathy made our visit really special.

Fun on your own tour. Does not take long, very interesting stop while in Red Wing, MN. Museum is done on your own.

Visit ,very interesting

By Kathleen N |

All the employees were very nice and was a lot of help. It was very interesting walking around and reading the history about the company in there musizum. My son is a hard worker and wears these shoes ,he won't wear any thing else. It was my father in law that told him to spend the money ,because he always wore these shoes. Now that I know more about this shoe I'm so happy to know how my son's feet are protected, and cared for . THANK YOU.

Fun to go in and look

By CaptTrouble |

My father always wore Red Wing boots, so when we walked by the store and saw the giant boot, we had to go in. There are many nice things to buy and it's also interesting just to look around. I hope I can come back soon!

Great Family Trip

We love this little spot! The museum is fun for all ages and has lots of interesting information. The prices on merchandise are unbeatable and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly.

Size 638 1/2 boot

By janicepk |

So fun the see this gigantic boot
We circled around several times trying to find it via gps- note it is downtown in the shoe store. Amazing that it is entirely made of leather. The store and outlet gives a good sense of the full line of red wing footware.

A must see store and museum!

By frank0012023 |

The large handmade boot is a sight to be seen. They sell their excellent boots as well. In my opinion, the best boots money can buy. Yes they are expensive but their quality is the utmost in shoes. The history of Red Wing Shoes is also well displayed. A must see store even just to look and be amazed. I will visit again soon!!

Different and fun across from Duluth Trading Co

By peanutsNewYork |

We stopped for lunch in Red Wing and had just a fun time after lunch taking photos of the huge boot in the Red Wing store and shopping around. Across the street if the Duluth Trading Co whose ads are rampant on television! Cute little town, worth a walk around!

Worth the stop

By kmbrown021393 |

The shoe itself is worth the stop...it is pretty amazing. This museum is located right on the main street in town so can be tricky to find a parking spot; but, it is worth the effort.

World's Largest Boot.

By Jesse White |

Another World's Largest in the state of Minnesota. This one is located in the Red Wing Boots Store, making it a little awkward when staff are trying to help you find boots, when really your just there to see The Boot. The boot is fascinating and there are a few souvenirs to choose from if you are looking for a memento of your visit to the World's Largest Boot. Great Christmas card photo opportunity to be had in Red Wing. Stop by if you are ever passing through Red Wing.

I happened to run across this place on a "drive" on vacation. This is a cool little town to walk around. It is "old town" shopping and walla, there is the Red Wing Store. I had no clue about the interest in this but I guess it's a northerner kinda thing.

Worth a quick look

By jfadds |

Located inside a retail store is a museum exploring the history of these well made and expensive shoestring. Quality costs- nothing wrong with that.
It is worth a visit to see the world’s largest shoe 👞
Amazing the accolades these shoes earn from their loyal customers

Excellent

By Erika B |

Very nice museum with a lot of information! The staff was very friendly and informative about the town.

More store than museum

By Bucky1836 |

The balcony has the museum exhibits, mostly about what great boots and shoes they make. And they are right about that. Be sure to go to the Outlet Store section in the basement.

Very fun

By Janet S |

We went here just because we stopped in town and felt we should. It was great. The 30 minute video that describes the boot making process in detail thoroughly mesmerized us. Nice museum displays upstairs also, and the giant boot, well... you must see it.

Worth a quick trip if you want to know more about this world famous product.

By Bob P |

Quick and fun trip to learn about Red Wing shoes and the world's largest boot! You could see it all in about 30 minutes.

Smells Like Leather!

By Kswany |

The store is classy on main street (Highway 61 )in Red Wing. Upon entering you are greeting by the world's largest shoe. The place smells like a leather store. Really nice shoe store.

Love it here

By kiawahgirl |

We always go here with each yearly visit to Red Wing to visit family. I am from South Carolina so it is nice to get souvies to take back to family and friends from the very home where the Red Wing shoes and boots are made.

Overnight in Red Wing

By JazyJane |

Everyone should visit the boot!! It is HUGE!! Lots of fun to see. Very clean store and the smell of fresh leather is wonderful!

Gotta see the Boot!

By khmplus |

A piece of history in Red WIng. Having purchased Redwing Boots, I was interested in visiting the store. A nice variety of hiking boots from Vasque, in addition to Redwing products.

Great museum!

By Deb J |

This was a fun stop in downtown Red Wing. This is an excellent town to meander around. Great small town feel, everyone is so friendly. There is a lot to see and do! Don’t miss the giant boot in the Red Wing shoe store. They have a computer set up, so that you can email or text the picture directly to yourself. The upstairs museum display is well done.

Worth a Look

By DavidMinnesota |

An interesting side trip and some good buys if you are in the market for footwear. The staff is very helpful and attentive.

Big shoe

By Buckeyesandi |

Nice but disappointing as a Red Wing Shoes are not the shoes we remember from our youth. Just not the same.

Seeing the history

By Marianne C |

Very Intetesting History and we loved having our picture taken by the immense boot. Clerks were friendly! Not much variety in shoes

In Red Wing as a tourist you must see the Red Wing Shoe history. - 1 floor has good prices, if you can find your size. Well worth the quick visit, less than an hour.

A Must-See When In Red Wing

By FireflyPR |

Red Wing Shoes are known worldwide and this flagship store and museum attracts visitors from many countries. See the World's Largest Boot, a large selection of Red Wing work boots, Irish Setter hunting boots, Vasque hiking boots and other fine products. Look for bargains in the basement.

RedWing Shoes

By Dawn S |

Well worth the visit. Be sure to visit the museum upstairs and the wonderful selection of discounted items in the lower level.

Great Selection

By NoraKate |

Very nice store; wide selection and great service. Found a pair of boots in a wide width. Herman was particularly helpful.

Great store and museum !

By Greg W |

Very interesting museum and great bargain basement shoe specials! Bought a pair of Red Wing $300 biker boots(seconds) for $99! Still have no idea what made them seconds!

Great visit

By Amy D |

If you are in the area its worth the visit. They have a great selection of shoes upstairs and downstairs. The big boot and the museum was neat to see. The staff was very helpful and patient.

Put Your Best Foot Forward

By DavePN |

We travelled almost 1000 Kms just to buy some shoes at this location since what I wanted is not available in Winnipeg. To our delight, we found a very interesting small museum on the upper level that gave us a very good idea of how the Red Wing shoes and boots were made in the past. I think young children might really get a good bit of education about how a shoe is made from the displays. The huge boot was fun to see. It is an actual leather boot made by retired employees of Red Wing Shoe. It would be good for young children for a rainy day distraction if you happen to be in the area.

By Mdsanoka |

Thanks to my wife I really like Redwing boots. I never had them until I married her. She is a big believer of taking care of your feet. So ever since we have been together I have worn Redwing boots. I own four pairs. A very good boot and they wear very well. So we decided to drive down to Redwing to buy this pair. I thought they would of had more of a variety. The boot that I really liked they didn't have in my size. The person that helped us was very curt. Not a people-person at all. He was the 2nd guy who assisted us. The 1st salesman sent us downstairs shortly after meeting us. (Odd at best! !)
Downstairs they have a "discount" section, supposedly. Not only is it very dark down there the prices were not much different than the regularly priced ones upstairs. Again, disappointing. For being THE Redwing Boot store IN Redwing, MN, we were wondering why we made the drive.

Terrible

By Christy R |

Terrible service! I wanted to buy a pair of work boots ($300.00) the person who helped me found a pair of boots for me to try on. Great but they didn't fit and the sales person up and left and never came back. I ended up walking away and the company lost a $300.00 sale.

Decent Products; Lousy Service

By The_Bohemian |

I prefer Red Wing boots and have 4 pairs. I wanted a waterproof black pair for motorcycle riding and another pair of romeos. I started in the basement and the only woman working down there didn't know what romeos were or what waterproof boot styles they had in black and suggested if I had questions to go back upstairs.

Woman upstairs said romeos are no longer made. I asked about black boots. She said there aren't many that come in black but she didn't show me any for whatever reason then sauntered back to chat with her workmate at the cash register. Not what I was expecting at the Red Wing flagship store.

I got home researched and found the styles and functionality I was looking for and ordered a competitors products on-line; they'll be here in a couple days. Thank you Zappos!

Boring

By klrogers79 |

It's just a show store with a tiny museum within it. The shoe is cool but other than that there's not much to say/do here.

Interesting, but small museum, and store with bargains on this high-end American-made brand

By Mark H |

Swung by the store and museum after a morning meeting around the corner in downtown Red Wing. The firs thing you see upon enter is "the world's largest boot." Whether it is or not doesn't matter. It would be size 610 and there a plaque explaining what went into and the quantities it took.

A nice touch is the "selfie station" with a prepositioned camera/kiosk that will email you a photo of you and the boot for free.

The basement is the outlet store with excellent prices on Red Wing and Vasque footwear. Prior to my visit I had no idea Vasque was made by Red Wing. The first floor is the full-price stuff.

July 4th Vacation

By Todd E |

Very nice shoe store and museum. Loved the big shoe. Sales people were friendly, knowledgeable, and not high pressure. Probably some of the best, most durable shoes ever made. Definitely checkout the discounted, outlet shoes in the basement!

Fun Just to Visit

By Irishnips |

Went in on a cold January day just to pass time. Very interesting even just to browse, as most items were out of our price range. Make a trip to the basement, though, and do some searching, as clearance prices are all across the board. Came away with 2 pairs of ladies boots and a pair of mens sandals for under $70!

If you have a shoe fetish.

By FergusDad |

The Red Wing Shoe Store & Museum is 90 percent store and 10 percent museum. The giant shoe is cool and the store is nice. I even left with a new pair of shoes.

great deals & selection

By geoffm2 |

Do check out the clearance section. Excellent prices on these items. Very large selection on the full product line in main part of the store. Helpful & friendly staff too.

That's a big boot

By Christina K |

It's a good photo op and the museum upstairs was fun to see and learn about the history. It doesn't take long and there wasn't any wait when we went in.

Red Wing museum

By Dorene W |

Lots to look at, always buy Red Wing boots for my husband. They are comfortable and wear like steel. I am never been dissatisfied.

Big shoe

By Susan J |

They did a very nice job on the second floor of the store, showing the history of the boots, and a very nice exhibit showing how to make one. The selfie spot with the big boot is cute too.

Best Work Boots Around

By Budknightshamalan |

These shoes will not disappoint, my partner and I both wear Red Wing's to work and are on our feet all day. They are comfortable and will last much longer than anything else. Also, this store is a pretty neat place to visit. They have a clearance section in the basement that you can find some pretty good deals. The big shoe, and downtown Red Wing has a lot to offer as well. We make a day of it.

Worth the Stop

By Five_Aces_Tx |

Obviously the main attraction is the giant boot but there is also an interesting museum upstairs as well. One wall illustrates step by step how their boots are made (see accompanied pic) and another wall with letters from customers who have purchased their boots (some interesting stories). Other areas include what is thought to be the first set of Red Wing boots and other artifacts.

Gotta see the Big Boot!

By rmcnamara2017 |

The big boot is the draw (and worth a stop even if you aren't planning to shop) but the small museum upstairs is also quite interesting. The store itself is big and airy and the folks who work there are welcoming and helpful.

Really big shoe!

By WereOff2SeeTheWorld |

There is a fascinating history to the shoe... It's takes just a few minutes to go through. The giant shoe is giant!

Fun Find

By Rachel B |

We’re on a road trip and had to see the world’s largest boot on our way through the area. The boot did it’s job... hubby had to get a new pair of shoes too. This is a very nice store, helpful, professional staff and a small museum exhibit in the middle of a beautiful town. There is a kiosk to help with boot selfies too! Thanks for a fun stop!

Classic Shoe Company in the Heart of Downtown Red Wing

By Gregory W |

Nestled in the heart of downtown Red Wing, Red Wing Show Company is a classic. Show sales on the main floor, outlet shoes in the lower lever, and mini-museum exhibition space on the upper floor are a fun way to get a flavor of what this American store and factory has to offer. 2 hour parking can be found on the street and helpful sales staff are there to assist you making a shoe purchase. While there you have to see the largest boot in world and take a picture!

A GREAT MUSEUM AND EXCELLENT STORE

By G8401JKpeterg |

This wonderful place combines the interest of social history with an opportunity for terrific shopping. It has many unique displays about the production and marketing of shoes during the early 20th Century. There are numerous photos and artifacts on display. There is a wide selection of shoes for purchase. The staff was extremely helpful and personable.

You have to see the boot!

By MSWMom50 |

If you are ever planning a visit near Red Wing you must stop and check out the shoe store. The huge boot is amazing in the entry way, I loved the smell and feel of the real leather. The largest shoe I have ever seen! I confess I did not check out the museum upstairs as I had limited time and found myself downstairs looking at the shoes. Some of the shoes were on a really good sale and I bought a nice pair. Red Wing is a pretty town along the Mississippi River and worth a stop!

Pretty cool

By KJD229 |

Learned how the boots are made and enjoyed the museum portion of the shop. Really nice shoes and boots for sale. Very busy and of course we took a picture of largest boot in the world.

Shoes & boots galore!

By VillageGreenGal |

World's largest boot is located just inside the Red Wing Shoe Store & Museum. Be sure to visit the basement if you want a great deal on some Red Wing shoes.

Fun to See the Big Shoe!

By Ashley T |

My 1 year old loved seeing the big boot, and we enjoyed the small museum. Everyone was very friendly, and the Red Wing shoes are very well made.

Big Shoe

By Gardenlover31 |

Not much to do in Red Wing. But this is a cool shoe store with top of the line work, hiking shoes with top prices.

Not much to see

By Lizzypw |

We went to the museum as it was one of the few places open on a Monday in Red Wing. Friendly staff, prices too high for my budget but looked like quality footwear. Museum was not very interesting unless you're into leather works. Would not return.

Great Visit

By gustavolevyrun1 |

The shop, the museum and the outlet.
Do not miss the opportunity to see history and make great purchases of quality products

A shopportunity

By den979 |

Not really an attraction - just a big, crowded store. Come see the world's biggest boot and if shopping is your thing then this is the place. Lots of people - prices looked good.

Must See The Big Boot

By Bruce |

My wife and I were visiting Red Wing, Minnesota, and several locals said, "You have to see the Big Boot." The Red Wing Shoe Store and Museum is more retail store than museum. The featured Big Boot is certainly a 'must see' when in Red Wing. The museum is good for about five minutes. Afterwards, we shopped for boots and shoes, and the Red Wing shoe company made a sale. The Red Wing Shoe Store and Museum is a worth visiting while in Red Wing.

Family trip

By 438lynnr |

Vacation to Red Wing with family. Had a great time visiting around the town. Hotel was great. All that we needed

love seeing all the different boots

By travelingquilter |

I love Red Wing boots and it was nice seeing all the styles. I really want my husband to get a pair, they are pricy though.

Interesting story and exhibits in museum

By Linda D |

The Red Wing Shoe store & Museum was interesting with informative historical exhibits. The huge boot is unique. We did ask about factory tours, but were told they were not happening at this time.

Browsing, shopping & history!

By Veronica S |

We stopped here while in Red Wing on a whim.
While just stopping in to "just look" we were greeted by a nice sales lady who assisted me in a purchase for my husband & me of some awesome slippers.
She also recommended pursuing the outlet store downstairs where we found a pair of hiking boots for me & another sweet pair of slippers for hubby.
We did a quick tour of the history found on the upper level which was a fun little bit to see.
Items on the regular sales floor are not cheap by any stretch, but Red Wing makes a high quality product that they stand behind 100%. A business doesn't last as long as this company by not being high quality & great service!

We didn't go to the museum but did go to outlet and regular store

By savytraverlor43323 |

The shoe is hand made and an incredible thing to see. I wanted to go to outlet store because they were having a sale. Selection was VERY limited. The main store has some beautiful shoes for sale but they are pricey. I heard some guy say the last pair he bought there were the best shoes he had ever had. I really wanted to get a pair but don't spend hundreds for shoes so came home empty handed.

Red Wing shoes, known throughout the U.S.

By lpmiller2015 |

My father worked for Red Wing Shoe Company for 37 years. The factory has been an important industry to Red Wing, having store locations throughout the U.S. The museum is an interesting place to view their history and products. The store offers a good selection of Red Wing shoes and boots, many offered at sale prices. If in Red Wing it is worth the visit.

Biggest boot I have ever seen!

By Marilyn F |

This boot is in the Red Wing store and we found the items for sale to be very expensive. But, it is worth going to see this huge boot. They have a small museum on the upper floor.

Honestly its just a store.

By thespottedtraveler |

The giant shoe was interesting, but its just really a store with a shoe museum on the second floor. Not really impressed, spent a total of 20 minutes in the store. Everything was outrageously expensive, and there was little staff to help.

Explored our favorite shoe store!

By Patricia G |

Explored our favorite shoe store! Got a tip for the best bakery in town, where we found delicious breakfast and the most amazing donuts ever!

Now thats a BOOT

By m0ntana1965 |

Great tourist spot & to learn the history of Red wing Shoes Employees were all very friendly & more than helpful if you had any questions

Something to see

By tschilli |

Museum is free and who doesn't want to see a giant boot?? Easy to find-right in the heart of town-a must see.

Store is great but museum is a bit weak

By Wangfox |

I did buy some shoes here to say I bought them in Red Wing but you can find all these shoes on line and in there other stores. But selection was quite large and the staff was extremely helpful.

Museum was small and simple. Had expected more. Interesting but not worth going out of the way. everything and most of the displays is same as whats on line for history. Unfortunately was disappointed.

Very nice

By blacklake |

Small museum and store. Right on the main street, highway 61. Well done and very interesting. The shoe and boots are part of the history of this old Mississippi River town.

Nice old building and shopping

By Vernon V |

We always have to stop here because of the shopping and the antiques. My wife buys her shoes in the shoe store, it's cheaper, even when they are not on sale. Good shoes, Merrill's, Hush puppies, and others. Got four pair of shoes, regular $425 for $162.

Nice smell of leather

By Micosay |

We enjoyed the store, the museum, the discount area, and the world's largest boots. And the employees were right out of the movie, Fargo. I would have liked it better if I could have afforded anything in the store. Nice location, right on the main drag.

The Agony of the Feet

By buttereyes |

I drove down to Main Street
To visit "The Shoe"
Went downstairs to the sale room
To find a Vasque shoe in blue

Went to check out
The clerk was no snoot
And on our way out saw
The "World's Largest Boot"

That's one BIG boot!

By MNTraveler05106419 |

The boot was very large! To be honest, I was more excited about the amazing deal that I rec'd on 2 pairs of hiking boots in the lower level. I didn't even realize that Red Wing Shoe made the Vasque brand. The top level has pictures and tells the story of their beginning.

Worth the visit

By Dustin B |

Very interesting! We didn't purchase anything from the store, but the World's Largest Boot was very interesting, and upstairs they have a great history of the company. It not only shows you displays, but gives good explanations of everything. Worth stopping in to visit!

Great to see so many quality shoes made right in Red Wing, MN

By Elizabeth M |

They have great quality work, dress and hiking boots for all ages plus women's dress shoes, shearling slippers, etc. I loved seeing so many Made in USA labels!

Well worth the stop

By Aaron W |

Great stop downtown Red Wing that doesn't take much time to complete. Our kids loved the shoe and exploring the history museum upstairs. There's a fun little area that you can walk on a steel beam, that moves under your feet, and it simulates the feeling that workers felt while wearing Red Wing boots while making the Hancock Tower in Chicago. Well worth the stop

The museum showed shoe construction and had some interesting history.

By Patrick S |

We liked the giant boot and checked out the store. There were good buys in the basement outlet section.

Big shoe

By Safetyguy_328 |

Great little museum and tour. Enjoyed their wall of honor. Sound was too low on the videos, could not even hear anything but mumbling. They build great shoes, have a store but even their discounted shoes are expensive! Place I worth the visit if in Redwing

If you're into boots...

By stric75 |

... Then this is the place. The factory Red Wing store offers a nice variety of their boots and shoes. They have a small museum on the upper level that explains boot-making process and talks a bit about history of brand. The shop is on the lower level where one Dan find shoes,
Clothing and various accessories. If you are in town it's worth a visit.

Nice visit to Red Wing Boots

By William M |

The Giant boot is awesome! Employees were helpful and polite but ... The discount section is kind of hidden down stairs, there is one little sign kind of hidden showing they even have a downstairs. The discount prices ranged from OK to still a bit high. Overall a nice visit.

Wonderful

By Julie G |

My Husband and I were amazed how much this boot weighed. It is a fun museum, the history of the boots is very interesting.
We enjoyed this place very much.

Part Of The Real America

By Aaron G |

There actually isn’t a lot to see here but the pictures, descriptions, and exhibits are well done and really cool. I give it a “Very Good” rating because any exhibit or museum that immortalizes the hard work and success of a good idea and business. And you’ll leave here wanting to buy a nice pair of sturdy shoes

Great stop!

By SchoonLK |

The boot picture is a must see! The museum upstairs is very informative and be sure to see the bargains in the lower level outlet.

Salute to the Boot

By Bl B |

Interesting history of the boot business in Red Wing. Great selection of boots that are a-number one quality. The world largest boot is a site in and of itself.

Wow

By The Babster C |

This was awesome some amount of history to these shoes was very interesting and free to enter. The huge boot was amazing

Not bad

By F H |

Would I go out of my way to visit it - NO, but if there worth a visit, intersting on how long the factory has been in business and a bit of discription on how boots are made etc.

Red Wing Shoes Yesterday and Today

By Steven H |

Begin your visit on the second floor to learn the history of this iconic American shoe company still making shoes and boots in Red Wing. You can find boots and shoes to fit your outdoor, hiking, casual and work needs plus Red Wing Shoe logo wear. Definitely worth the visit!

When in Red Wing...

By ChasB998 |

We always make a stop when in Red Wing...and usually walk out with some purchase. First off, there is the museum. It is on the second floor, just up the stairs from the ginormous, world-record boot. The museum shares all you need to know about the company, the town, and the boots that made them famous. On the main floor is the merchandise sales and showroom. Spacious and well displayed, the store has the Red Wing line of shoes and boots, including my favorite in their line, the Vasque hiking boots. If you're looking for a pair of hikers, this is the brand! Finally, in the lower level of the store is the outlet portion. Here you can buy the latest discontinued shoes and boots in their line. Of course there are two challenges--since it is an outlet the popular sizes might be hard to come by, and if you buy a pair and fall in love with them you better make a trip back and buy a second pair right away!

A great way to look back into an iconic company.

By Scott M |

If you are into history, and Americana, this place is right up your alley. You are informed of the company's history thru an A/V story, walking past examples of their product made throughout their exisitance, and you can feel the leather of one HUGE boot!! All-in-all, a great way to spend as much time as you want/need to get to know this little company from Red Wing, MN

Giant Shoe is Fun to See

By Fay M |

The Red Wing Shoe Store and Museum was smaller than I expected, but the giant shoe was pretty awesome. Be sure to checkout the discount area in the basement, but don't expect it to be a bargain.

So cool

By Sarah |

If you’re visiting Red Wing definitely go to the Shoe Store & Museum. The Huge shoe is just amazing!!! The kids loved it! They have a camera in front of the shoe so that you can take selfies. The museum is really interesting and won’t take too much time. Had a lot of fun!

Museum closed

By jayjaimeem07 |

If you are in the market for some of these shoes, the outlet on the lower level is awesome! Fun for the kids to see the largest boot! Unfortunately, the museum was closed this visit.

Just a day in Red Wing

By Stephenie J |

Took a day trip to Red Wing and had to stop to see the big boot, pretty cool with some interesting history. Daughter enjoyed it

A Must See in RW!

By JFred7842 |

Love Red Wing Shoes! If you are passing thru town you must stop in to get your first pair of Red Wings from the lovely ladies inside and visit the museum and historical features!

Talk about getting the "boot"!!!

By Marie R |

A fun place to spend a little time on a hot August afternoon. I enjoyed seeing all the boots, especially the large one. Obviously, they can find a boot to fit most everyone. The prices are a bit steep, though.

Fun store

By Dale |

Great store selling Red Wing Shoes. Very clean store and easy to roam around, staff is friendly and doesn't hound you. Go upstairs and enjoy the Red Wing Museum gives a great history about Red Wing Shoes.

Fun at Red Wing Shoes

By mrenthusi |

Love checking out this store. The giant Red Wing Boot is pretty cool to see. Lots of fun finds. Plus genuine Red Wing Shoes. A must stop when visiting Red Wing MN. Be sure to hit Bevs Cafe as well.

Shoes-----what is not to love?

By Janice M |

Go see the BOOT in Red Wing and then shop for shoes. Red Wing brand is awesome---their boots/shoes last and still look great. Be sure to check out the basement for bargains....men and women both. We've purchased some great shoes at significant discounts in the basement level. The first level has more current stock. Kids love the Boot!

Worth the stop

By CGDJS |

You wouldn't think touring a place about how work boots are made is very interesting, but it was! The giant 683 1/2 sized boot was a kick to stand by and see - it's authentic in every way and they have a video playing of how it was made.

Worth the visit.

By Peter K |

My wife got a picture next to the enormous Red Wing boot and we got a chance to see how the boots are made. It was also interesting to see how they've changed over the years and how long the boots last. The letters from people who have used the boots over the years were worth a read too. Short tour, but packed with information.

If The Shoe Fits...Buy It! Neat Experience!

By Elizabeth-Lucy |

Visited Red Wing Shoe Store & Museum in March 2019. Notice the concrete as you walk through toward the entrance. As you enter, there really is giant boot in the front of the store! The venue includes the museum, the store, and the bargain basement where you can get up to 90% off regular pricing. (That's my favorite place to shop and hunt.) The key, though is finding your size and width in the bargain area in the style you want. If you're lucky, you will find something in your size at a great price! The store also sells belts, and a few clothing items as well as safety & steel toe shoes, boots, and walking shoes. We stop here each time we are in Red Wing to check to see if they have something available for our feet in the bargain area. Overall, neat history and experience.

The big boot is pretty cool

By Kathy M |

The store was very nice. I don't know what I expected in the museum but it was a quick walk through.
