Great Property

By khesser |

This property is so quaint and cute. The service is excellent. You have to love a winery with winery dogs! Excellent wines, we picked up a few!

Cute place, nice wine

By Erin |

The wines were good; good enough that we bought $100 worth and got our tasting for free. I always like that.

And they had DOGS running around. Well, actually, one was lounging around outside and the other was lounging around inside. I automatically like any place that has their own pets.

The place itself was beautiful but not pretentious. It was small and not crowded so that was very pleasant.

The young lady who poured for us was very knowledgeable and helpful.

You could picnic outside there.

Overall, I loved it. For the wine. And also the dogs. :-)

Unforgettable Experiencer

By Jerry Reimer |

Our friends has told us to visit Regusci Winery for their great wines. We scheduled an appointment and visited the winery. We got there early so we walked around the beautiful grounds/ gardens around the winery. Yes the wine was good but the rest of the experience was even better. Our tour guide was well trained and knew a lot about the winery & it's wines. They already had the wine placed in different locations where we were going to visit. Well done! We ended up going back to the tasting room and tasting several more wines. We signed up on the quarterly and we are looking forward to tasting their wines for years to come.

Regusci is great!

By cotterpbsg |

We just popped in to the winery and they were kind enough to "fit us in" for a tasting. Fantastic wines! Highly recommend when you in St. Helena.

By RealtorJuan |

Elisabeth Russell was amazing!!! Very knowledgable about all the wines! We are definitely Joining this wine club. If you love Cabernet Sauvignon, you will love this winery!

Great vineyard and lovely wines

By gardener1920 |

We had an excellent wine tasting, we were lucky enough to meet the man who has been making the wine here for 18 years. We tasted our wine at the counter, we booked all our wine trips ahead as we know that it can get very busy in the season, although our driver did take us to a couple of vineyards that we had not booked.

Wonderful experience and great olive oil

By Jodi B |

This was our first stop of the day and really enjoyed the wine tasting. I highly recommend sharing a wine tasting if you plan on visiting multiple wineries in a day. All the wineries we visited were very open to sharing. Our tour guide also highly recommended the olive oil which we enjoyed as well. In November during the week we didn't need an appointment and had a wonderful, personal experience.

Always amazing

By SMB80 |

I love this winery. The staff is exceptional. I don't even live in California and the manager welcomed me with a genuine smile and remembered me from August. These are great big Napa cabs! I am a member for a reason!

Great Wines

Popped in and enjoyed a no hassle wine tasting. That last estate red is very special :)
Great setting and friendly staff. You could just it outside with a picnic lunch and enjoy the beautiful grounds and sounds of nature. Lovely !

Great Tasting and Tour

By Tim H |

We have been members of Regusci wine club for a while, but never did the tour. While in the area, we scheduled a 10:30 tour through the winery. We arrived early and the staff didn't waste time. They started right away, giving us a tour through a light mist. We visited the vine, did a walk through their gardens, the old Ghost Winery, and the barrel room underneath. Along the way, they had wines positioned for us to taste. The staff was delightful as always and the wine is some of the best in the area. This was our 3rd visit to the winery, and we've never felt crowded or rushed like you can at more "Touristy" winery. Regusci is a must visit location for folks in the area that enjoy a nice environment and superb wines.

We were invisible

By StreetPretzel |

We went to Regusci for a wine tasting. The grounds were nicely lined with vegetable gardens, and it looked like it should be a pleasant visit. Though not very crowded (it was off-season and we had counter space), we had a hard time getting set up. After the first wine, we could not get any further attention. After 10 minutes, we decided to just settle up and leave. After 5 additional minutes of trying to flag someone down, we just left. We did 10 wineries during this trip to Napa Valley, and this was the most unpleasant stop.

Must Stop!

By Paul D |

This is a fantastic winery with friendly people and delicious wines! The tasting room is beautiful and the staff is extremely knowledgeable. We ended up joining the wine club b/c the wines were so good. We liked that their wines aren't widely distributed, like a lot of their neighbors. Can't wait to go back!

Unforgettable experience

By Acidov |

It was my first wine tasting experience. I really enjoyed the ambiance of this place, interior design, surrounding area in the heart of Napa Valley with the fields of vines. The staff was very attentive and professional. The wine tasted amazing! I have no comparison to other wineries nearby but I could not imagine a better place.

Good wine tasting experience

By Hitcher84 |

Make a reservation. This is a more historic winery. It is a pricy tasting fee ($50) that does get waived with an $80 purchase, so you are taking a big chance if you don't like their wines. We liked the merlot and cab, so it worked out though. They said their wine was only available in the tasting room. The tasting area is a porch overlooking the vineyard and valley and almost all of their wine is produced from the grapes you see. Service was really nice. They had some great olive oil for tasting too. Interestingly, they sell produce from their garden at an honor bar style produce stand up front. Not a bad choice for wine tasting in the area, as long as you are willing to buy their wine.

Great wines, average tasting room experience

By kristy b |

This was recommended to us by another winery and so we stopped on our way back to downtown Napa. The wines were fantastic, and the $25 tasting included 5 wines, which was nice. We split a tasting to keep costs down. The tasting room had a few other people tasting at the same time, so it wasn't crowded, but there was only one woman working, so she was pretty busy. You can also picnic on the grounds here which another family was doing.

A great morning!

By Mgboyd |

Anytime we find ourselves close to Napa/Sonoma we make sure and take in a couple wineries, with each trip trying somewhere new. We found a jewel this time, Regusci has an incredible history, fabulous location, beautiful historic winery, great wines and the staff to compliment all of it! We had the pleasure of being looked after by Johnny and spent an hour with him that seemed more like 20 minutes. He was very knowledgeable about the winery, its history, the great wines they produce and the region in general. The two winery dogs (rascal and rebel) added to the experience, we will be back for sure and recommend it to anyone!

Loved this winery and its wines!

By mshtx |

Very good experience - Eri greeted us and did out tasting for us. She was so friendly and outgoing, even offerring us a quick visit into the wine cave and a tasting from the barrel. This was an unexpected treat. She took several photos of me and my husband and was so kind. And best of all - we loved the wines! The Zinfandel was marvelous! Such a beautiful tasting room and area too.

Slow Start, But Got Better

By JoAnn70820 |

At first it seemed our tasting would go on with little information, other than what was written on the handout. After I began to ask questions, as the second wine was poured, the wine educator got going and did a nice job. It was very hot outside the afternoon we did our tasting, so we stayed inside. I'm sure we'd have enjoyed the experience more outdoors in nice weather. The wine wasn't our favorite either. We are glad we went but wouldn't recommend it that highly.

Favorite Ghost Winery

By napasyrah |

No ghosts here that I know of, rather a term I've heard used to describe a winery founded pre prohibition, this one dates back to 1872. Under the loving care of the Regusci family, Jim is fifth generation, growing incredible grapes and making amazing wines.

Lots of great stuff to choose from but "The Elder" really caught my attention with its ripe, lush fruit and soft tannins, velvety texture and long finish.

Beautiful landscapes and gardens, historic stone winery, comfortable atmosphere and delightful staff. Great experience here.

One of My Favourite Wineries

By WillForbes |

Family owned winery producing excellent wine. There is a definitive house style that resonates throughout all the range and the quality is very high. The Patriarch in particular is now one of our favourite Bordeaux blends from any region of the world. Beautiful setting and well worth a visit as it's not rammed full of tourist buses like so many of its neighbours.

Quiet beautiful atmosphere

By Lyndsey H |

Beautiful, quiet, and relaxed. ❤️ recommend for small groups with a chill vibe.
Educated pouring crowd who are very pleasant to listen to.

Beautiful winery

By WrigleyGirl1990 |

Wonderful winery that is so pretty. Made a reservation for a Sunday to sit outside. They immediately apologized when we arrived bec no one was leaving the outside tables but sat us at an outside larger table and immediately poured wine and brought us some crackers. Very attentive to us and keeping us updated on our table. We maybe waited 10-15 minutes. The wines were excellent. Staff is top notch.

Bad host should be your clue

By Sofia R |

This place was definitely a low point. I had read a book about wine tastings before my arrival. One of the things it said was that if you do not connect nearly immediately with your host, you should leave because your experience was not going to be good and would be a waste of your time. This was one of two that fit that mold on our trip. We should have left. The host was young and admittedly just started working there. Compared to the host beside her, a very loud boisterous individual, it left you wishing you arrived a moment sooner to get him instead of her. She didn't know anything about the wine to share and literally was there to pour. She was nice and friendly, but was no help in an introduction to what we were experiencing. The $15 tasting fee covered 4 wines and the atmosphere was like an old sterile barn. We hurried out of there when a van load of people came in like it was Disney.

Long time fan of the Regusci Winery

By Stuart S |

My wife and I have visited Napa Valley for the last 20+ years. We have visited & enjoyed a number of wineries in the area and one of our favorites has been the Regusci Winery. The wines are fantastic and the servers typically do a great job. I recommend going during the week when the crowds are small and the servers have more time to tell you about the wines.

Great experience

By Rae H |

Visited recently with 2 girlfriends and had a wonderful experience. We didn't have an appointment but they still took us! They did not rush us at all; the ambience is very relaxed and the wine really is delicious. I will definitely go back! (FYI if you're traveling to this area at the weekend you need to make appointments in advance.. !)

My favorite stop in Napa

By Yasmin M |

If you can only visit one winery, pick this one. We did the Library Tasting and Paige was very knowledgeable and very helpful. The wines were fabulous and we learned a lot about the process of winemaking and how the grapes are grown as well as the history of Regusci. This was by far our favorite stop in Napa and I hope to return soon.

Take the time to savor it

By Sheila R |

The visit to this family winery truly made the entire trip worth it. Spend the extra to do the Legacy Tasting or the actual tour. Sitting back in an armchair among barrels and aging bottles was perfect. It is obvious that the entire staff loves what they do and are passionate about the wines and the winery. Eric (our server) was outstanding. He was knowledgeable without overtalking or overselling - he let the wines speak for themselves...and they sing! Make sure you take the time to relax and savor not only the wines but the atmosphere and overall experience.

What a wonderful relaxing way to spend an afternoon!

By PonyMan132 |

This has to be the best small vineyard experience in the Napa area. The wines are special, no crowds, extremely relaxing, and sooo friendly.

Very good wines, pretty setting, knowledgable staff

By SusanJElDoradoHills |

We've been to Regusci twice in the past couple of months. It's one of the older wineries in the state, but we were not aware of what they had to offer until recently. In addition to the the tasing room, they offer catered meals from their home-grown produce and livestock. The wines are excellent, particularly the merlots. Their tasting fee $25 and they strictly follow the purchase requirements before waiving any portion. This would be a great place for a special event.

Best ZIn I've ever tasted!

By vinonick |

Stopped at Regusci based on the Cabernet I've had before which is quite good. But after a tasting of the Zin and Merlot I was hooked. Had a great time with a quick barrel tasting from a lovely young woman (chef) who was very knowledgeable and captivating in her passion for life, food and wine. Don't miss this winery!!

Our favorite winery!

By desta2017 |

We toured seven wineries over two days and while we loved them all, this was our favorite. Relaxed, informative tasting and tour in an idyllic setting. Appointments required which meant we got personalized attention and it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Tip - try the olive oil too, it's delicious!

So Glad we Visited

By Rob G |

When we visit any winery in the Napa Valley we always take the tour. Each establishment has its own story and Regusci was no different. It is set in the beautiful Stags Leap District, nuzzled at the foot of the mountains and is home to a 'ghost winery'.

The vineyards, gardens, buildings, even the livestock are all great to see and experience but come second place to some surprising, really good, Californian Cabernet Sauvignon wines. Ok, the wineries are a business and they build you up over a number of very generous pours to "the release they don't normally open but have just been allowed to." All I can say is "OMG" - it was truely fantastic! I would have gladly sat at Regusci all day drinking their wines and particularly the last one.

We had already visited anumber of other wineries so were restricted to what we could buy and bring home to the UK. Next time we will make Regusci a first call on our every increasing list of Napa Valley favourites.

Wine Tasting with friends

By mandaeh |

Beautiful scenery, great wines. The gardens make this place even more special. We had a very nice tasting on the patio- and even though it was December, there were heaters to keep things cozy. We enjoyed checking out the old building too. Really great red wine selections.

Visit Arranged For Us - A Good Time

By MAC3844 |

Our niece's boss arranged this visit for the group prior to our arrival in California. We sat out on the patio and had an excellent tasting. Even more interesting was the time they took to give us a full history of the vineyard, a previous diary. One of the original dairy delivery trucks was at the end of the patio.

Good wines, very informative hostess and wonderful patio.

With enough time next year, we will return.

Probably my favorite

By eddiEEEgirl |

LOVED this vineyard - AMAZING staff! Seriously, I just wanted to hang out with them for the rest of the day. The property is absolutely gorgeous, the wines are wonderful and only one is available for purchase outside of the vineyard, so I highly recommend going here and getting some wine. There was only one tasting option and it was wonderful. Go here, seriously.

Best kept secret in Napa

By Kirk P |

This was our second time to Napa and to Regusci. We have now been to 20+ wineries and it has risen to the top of our list. The wine is fantastic, the winery is historic and quaint and our pour host (Monica) was amazing. She was knowledgeable, professional and fun. It is a must see and experience. Will be there again!

Excellent Wine and Atmosphere

By Michael H |

The Merlot and Cabernet blends are excellent! The Chardonnay was very good too. Take time to stroll the extensive gardens and enjoy the view of the valley from the hillside.

Favorite!

By KristenVandalay |

With our quick getaway to Napa, we loved Regusci and Trefethen the very most. Regusci was quiet, no one else was there, so we got a lot of attention during our visit. Although in the future, I would make a reservation and try to book a tour as they are one of the oldest. As their site will tell you, they are the oldest family owned winery (5 generations) built before prohibition and have one of they only ghost wineries in Napa. Their wines are a smaller production, found in fine dining steak houses (not many stores). I continue to keep my eyes peeled for them whenever I go to dinner, but haven't been so fortunate as of yet. Really wonderful reds, bold and structured! My only regret is that I didn't know about them sooner. The grounds are gorgeous-lots of photo opps! I will never miss this winery again when I return to Napa. Don't miss it when you are in Stag's Leap!

A Gem in the Napa Valley

By roughrob |

This is one of the most picturesque places we visited, the building and location were stunning and the wines were exquisite.

The staff created a fun and friendly atmosphere, making us feel very welcome and catering for all levels of wine knowledge.

Regusci is a must if you are in the Napa - Yountville area

Super friendly, casual, and a must visit winery!

By Robin P |

We enjoyed a tasting and brief tour here (as we wanted). What a beautiful setting. Our wine guy named John was so nice and fun to talk to. The whole staff could not have been nicer. They made us feel so welcome. The wines were very good and we bought a few bottles. We got to see some of the historic property and just had a great afternoon here. This is a must visit. I don't know why it took us a few years to get to this winery.

A very pleasant surprise

By Carol M |

We met a couple at another winery who told us about this hidden gem. We never heard of Regusci and they promised we would not be disappointed. They were absolutely right. Excellent reds!!! Big and berry, just how I like them! Our server/pourer was incredibly knowledgable and very pleasant. I can't wait to receive my order! Mmmmm, good!

Another solid showing for cab fans

By billybob101 |

We went here right after our visit to James Cole - I really enjoyed the patio setting - just beautiful weather and views and atmosphere. Our host was friendly and knowledgeable- the cabs were killer - brought some back for sure

Great wine, great service, great location!

By TStan91 |

I love Stag's Leap District wines. I hate wine snobs and stuffy arrogant tasting rooms. Regusci puts up with none of that. This location and winery is breath takingly beautiful year round including our most recent visit. The staff is friendly and low key. They are knowledgible without being belittling and will gladly suggest other wineries and restaurants. I love this place and plan on returning everytime I visit Napa

Idyllic Atmospher and Terrific Wine!

By Pete L |

The best place to visit without question. Family owned vineyard with excellent staff who are very knowledgeable on their wine selection. We split a tasting and they were very gracious on their pours! The Elders wine is what we purchased among a few other fun items they have in the store area. The best views in Napa. The outside seating area is fantastic and you look into the gorgeous scenery of the vineyard. This is a GEM!!

Laid back, enthusiastic staff

By Edward C |

We stopped by for a tasting, very relaxing atmosphere. Left with 3 reds and 1 white...Fun, will be back next year. After the opulence of Darioush it brought us back to what a winery in California should feel like.

Simply Awesome Wine!

By Casey R |

This place had the best wine overall we tasted on our most recent trip to Napa Valley. My wife had heard about this place on TV so we decided to go check it out. It's a small and very cute winery reminiscent of an old Italian or French countryside home. It's not grandiose as many of the well known Napa Valley wineries can be. It felt very welcoming. I believe the wine tasting was $25 which was waived if you purchased $100 of wine. They really did have great Cabernet here. I purchased a couple bottles of their 09' Stags Leap Cab. They had a couple other cabs I enjoyed as well but they were above my price point. In the $100-300 per bottle range. I was happy to be offered their $300 07' Cab to taste and it was amazing! So good. I left a couple hundred dollars poorer and am considering joining their Wine Club.

They have a cute little winery dog, too!

Love this Winery

By Katollie |

We finally got to return here after visiting in 2003. Still as great as we remember it. Wine tasting is lots of fun with a great staff. The setting is amazing. We could have spent the day here if we had had the time to spare.

Highlight of our trip

By David D |

The highlight of our Napa trip! incredible wines that are only available at the winery in a gorgeous setting that resembled an Italian villa. Our host Jacob was fantastic and encouraged us to take our wines and tour the grounds as we drank them. There was no rush, and we were welcome to stay there as long as we wanted. incredible wines, gorgeous setting, this is a smaller, less well-known winery that everyone should visit when in Napa!

Definitely a great place!

By Bao N |

I don't think the words "hidden gem would be appropriate to use for this winery. It can be seen on Silverado trial, next to Clos Duval and Chimney Rock. We came here because it was not only highly recommended by friends in the area, but also from the wine club managers in Napa Valley as well.
The tour provided by Antonio was informative! This 21 y/o "kid" was born and raised in the area. He knows the history of the winery very well. The cabs and their red blends are excellent! In addition, they also make yummy zin, which is rare to find in the Napa Valley area.
The staff is very friendly and the ground is beautiful. I believe this is a dog friendly winery as well.
(If you like to have a picnic there, it's highly recommended to make reservation for the tables outside of the tasting area).

Library tasting

By Denise C |

We picked a perfect non rainy week in Dec to go to Napa. My daughters 30th bday! We visited several winery’s during the week but this was one of our favorite experiences. The gal who told us about the history of how the winery came to be and how we ended up drinking the wines we drank was great! (I forget her name) But she is an amazing story teller! We brought home some Merlot and Cab. If you have the chance, take the tour and book the library tasting!

Would definitely come back for more!

By Jessica A |

It was my first time in Napa and Regusci Winery was amazing! John was so well informed and a gracious host. We really enjoyed ourselves and I am still craving the delicious crackers.

Best winery we came to in Napa

By Mike p |

We came here on the recommendation of our inn owner. We hadn't heard of them before but we wanted to visit some more smaller family owned winery. The place is incredible. The nicest looking one with the best views of all of them. The wine is amazing we ended up joining the wine club here everything we tried was so good. We were lucky it was a slow day for them so the tasting we had and the tour was just the two of us. The two dogs even joined us for the walk around the property. The place is perfect. Make sure you don't miss this place. The best one we came to in our 4 days in Napa.

A Very Disappointing Experience

By northstatecurators |

The main part of this review relates to the library wines offered by Regusci on their current, Jan 2019, Library tasting menu. This is the more expensive tasting and our expectations were very high.

By way of background, we travel regularly to the Northern Californian wineries and whilst we do not buy massive quantities we like to collect the best we can afford. We have visited and re-visited Regusci over the years and until now have loved the place, the wines, the people and of course the total experience.

On prior trips we have tasted wines from their Library wine menu and at our visit in the autumn tasted the wines from the regular tasting menu, augmented with additional library vintages. We heard during the autumn visit that Regusci intended to cease distribution of all of their wines and would sell direct to consumer at the winery only. This has indeed come to pass but with one extremely unfortunate and disappointing consequence.

Up-to our autumn 2018 visit there really was nothing of the library wines that was less than great, the tastings were excellent and we purchased in particular the Angelo’s Vineyard wines, which were near $200 a bottle. We wanted to continue buying Angelo’s to maintain as complete a vertical series of vintages as possible.

During our January 2019 visit, the Library menu had completely changed. The wines were described to us by our host as “Library of Library” wines. What this transpired to mean was that they all either needed drinking now or would need to be consumed in the very near future, they should not be laid down (this was confirmed by our host).

Even more disappointing, was that none of the great wines we’d previously tasted were even open or available to taste now and the Angelo’s vineyard wine, in which we’d invested and collected, was no longer avaialbe to purchase unless you are a club member. As overseas residents, Regusci’s club requirements are no good for us as they will not hold shipments for pick up from the winery for any length of time. Luckily many other wineries in the valley offer this service - please read my other reviews and follow our blog at northstatecurators.blog - I will update with more details as soon as possible.

We did of course buy some other, more recent wines but as we can no longer buy the Angelo’s vineyard wine that we really love, I doubt we’ll return to Regusci. A real shame, but as one door closes, many other wineries open theirs!

Pretty Perfect

By Serra62 |

We arrived at this small winery after a recommendation from a native. I go for the scenery and my husband for the wines. We were not disappointed. It was very homey and comfortable and the people treated you like old friends. The pours are quite reasonable for such excellent wines. It was a great experience.

Good Wine

By Rebecca Barnett D |

Good wine; they will waive tasting fees with a $100 wine purchase.

Beautiful Vineyard!

By Alexandra W |

I visited with my boyfriend and it was a great time. We called ahead to book a spot on a Wednesday. We were 2 of maybe 5 people visiting the vineyard at that time, so the quiet was nice! The grounds at this vineyard are so gorgeous and the staff is very knowledgeable about the wines and history. Rebel and Rascal, the vineyard doggies, were so cute and great company during the tasting!

Beautiful location, good wines

By Ecogirl06 |

My husband and I went to Regusci early in the morning, so it was not very busy, but Rachel Sturm gave us a great experience. She knew a lot about the wine she pouring and the history of the winery. The wine itself was excellent, with pretty good variations, even among the cabs. The winery also grows many fruits and veggies, which would be great if we had been there later in the season.

A fun recommendation for Red Wine lovers.

By HIkgkb |

I learned a lot from my tasting at Regusci winery. Not just about the history of the 3rd generation run winery, but also the history of the valley and Stag's Leap area. Oh, and their Zin was really good! Unlike any Zin i've had before. That goes for their Merlot as well. Highly recommend to check it out.

Just Average

By NPLarsh |

Regusci was probably our least favorite winery during our fall 2016 trip to Napa, but it may have been partially our fault for scheduling it as our last tasting spot for that particular day. Because it sits right off the Silverado Trail, it's easily accessible, but also means there's no elevation so you won't have spectacular Napa Valley views; however, the fields of vines are pretty during harvest season. We didn't have good service here, which is why I've given a 3 star review - our table wasn't cleaned off from the prior party for a solid half hour, and it took a long time to get through our tasting (maybe they were short-staffed?) We found the wines to be average in comparison to wines from other vineyards we visited during this trip, but I also am a firm believer in that wine is a very personal preference and you should always try wines for yourself! If you are stopping into multiple Silverado Trail vineyards, I think Regusci is worth a quick visit.

A Winery with Quite the History

By Daryl C |

The story of Regusci Winery is a long one. From winery to farm and back to winery. You'll need to make reservations to taste here. It's not fancy but there's a soul to the place, probably because the history is so close to surface. You'll taste on the terrace in front of the original winery building and overlooking the garden that dates back to the original farm. The red wines are very good and all estate grown. Of interest is the Zinfandel. The Stags Leap district is generally reserved for Cabs but this zin from old vines on the property has more substantial body with softer tannins than the norm. Also their 1932 blend is quite good.

Beautiful, Rustic Gem in Napa

By Ray M |

A visit to Regusci Winery is worth the stop. Our host, Nicole Vargas, was so sweet and welcoming. We felt like we were transported through time to the prohibition era. The winery has a rich and interesting history. Nicole did not rush us through our tasting and, in fact, it felt like we were enjoying fine wine with a friend instead of being at a wine tasting. I can't wait to purchase the Matrona for me and the Patriarch for my husband. Our driver, Sharon, from Valet of the Moon, recommended this winery and it was a real treat. It was the weekend and reservations were required. Sharon called and Nicole was more than happy to accommodate us.

Marvelous wines in a relaxing setting

By JWK1969 |

I've been to Regusci a few times, and have come away with an appreciation of their wines each time. This time we sat out on the patio because it was such a nice day. The woman who hosted us was very friendly and nice and engaging. The setting was lovely, looking out over the vineyard (with a line of shrubs fashioned out of lemon trees). But the wines starred, and never disappoint. Always a favorite of mine. They feature great cabs and delicious zins, but are also producing some red blends that have a lot of texture and character.

Wines are consistently amazing

By Michele R |

The merlots and cabs are always delicious. The merlot is definitely a 'cab lovers' merlot. Another stag leaps winner.

Wine tasting 2018

By chrismizera1 |

Knowledgeable staff, great wines. Overall experience was splendid, as was explanation of wines (as we tasted them) from vineyards I could both look at on clever wine folio map and out in the fields in front of me.

Wow wow WOW

By Marcelino S |

This winery is amazing!!! Has been around since the 1800's. Amazing construction, wine is exceptional.
Staff from grounds keeper, head chef, pasty chef, cellular master and wine maker are exceptional.
Bring your family here.

Great view, great wine, great people!

By LaurieLeitner |

So glad we made it here on our last visit to Napa. The people were fun & informative. The patio was lovely (even had a farmers market cart out front selling local veggies!).
The wine was wonderful. Overall, a great visit and so glad we decided to go!

By FranknJen |

The atmosphere is gorgeous. The wine is Delicous....Thank you Alex for a memorable afternoon of laughter and great stories. We will definitely return. It is good to sample different size wineries understand the differences. Each winery leaves you with something interesting to absorb.

What all wineries should be . . .

By michael_dimaggio25 |

As a local who often brings visitors to wine country, one often has to meld wineries with guest moods, palates, and experience. Regusci is one winery which never disappoints and always manages to meet the needs of any visitor.

As a third generation Napa family grower, Regusci has not forgotten its roots nor its notion of providing for the community. It treats its visitors like family, often taking time to walk them through the grounds and the history of the property even on busier days.

The wines are tasting particularly well right now. The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon though young was a pleaser in our group as was the Patriarch.

The staff there are top notch and even the winery dogs are quasi-celebrities (who doesn't know Trixie, the 14 year old game but pancreatic Corgi?). If possible ask for Neil, he of the kilt wearing variety. Some people have taken to calling Regusci, "the place where Neil works" , and no wonder when he brings such a joyful attitude. Another standout is Monica, who with her pooch, Larry, make quite the tandem. Monica shares her knowledge of the winery and local happenings mixing in colorful anecdotes with great information that promises to teach even regular clients a thing or two. If they are not too busy request a barrel tasting with her so can do a side by side tasting of multi-year Patriarchs.

When went last week, they offered as part of their tasting a 2007 Patriarch which was stupendous. This will only be available for another week or two so try to make a visit sooner rather than later.

If possible go during the week when the traffic is lighter, the crowds sparser, and the experience a tad richer. This is what the wine tasting experience used to be like and what it can be still.

A Taste of Wine from The Earth!

By southernactor |

Regusci Winery, thank you!
My wife and I know our wines and the Stag Leaps district is to Taste the Earth!
We had only drank Regusci Cabernet that had been sold commercially, we wanted to visit to see what more they offered and with No Reservations we went.
Now I must warn you, RSVP is required and for good reason but we took a chance, sorta of snobbish on our part.
We were warmly greeted and offered a private tasting but only due to the fact a group of 5 had a no show, Wow, how lucky we were and we jumped at this!
Chris Marshall was our host and from the moment we sat down in the 100 year old cellar to the 1998 Cabernet we drank along with various others including their limited Chardonnay we were impressed.
A tour of the estate high on the hills overlooking the valley to the knowledge and professionalism with his personality we cane away very impressed.
We did order some private select wines which I would highly recommend and skip the basic tasting to enjoy the finer wines they offer!
Thank you Chris for being our Host and Thank you
Regusci for allowing us to
Visit your beautiful estate and fresh garden without a reservation!
We will be ordering more in the future!
Ciao

Great tasting at Regusci

By Mike R |

We became members after a visit back in November. We elected to do the Library Tasting during this visit. Rachel was our host and did a fantastic job of explaining the history of Regusci, not to mention letting us sample some great wine. My wife and I agree that we like all of their wine, but the 1932 is our favorite. The Hospitality Manager Erin, followed up with us after our visit, and we let her know how much we enjoyed ourselves and that we'd definitely visit again.

Amazing winery!

By Casa Sauer |

Had not planned to stop on here but our time at SLWC next door was done early. We are glad we did. Amazing wine tasting experience with good price points on all their wines. Erin walked us through and took her time to ask and answer questions. We signed up that day.

Great experience, great wines!

By Barb W |

Like many who have already shared their reviews, our experience at Regusci was top notch, and definitely left an impression. We had planned ahead, and booked the legacy tasting, which I believe is crucial to enjoying this place to the fullest! After enjoying a quick tour of the property (while sipping wine I might add!), we settled into seats on their patio, and were treated to a very personal tasting. It was a busy Saturday, but the staff made sure to check back in multiple times, and were all super friendly and knowledgable. The tastings were very generous, and the wines were superb! Following the tasting, we took advantage of their beautiful grounds, and enjoyed a picnic lunch next to the vineyard. Truly a 5-star experience, and one that I can't wait to return, and experience again.

Great wine at a beautiful location

By THOMAS L |

If you like California Cabernet then Regusci is the winery for you. A wide variety of estate-grown red wines, great scenery, indoor and outdoor seating, and if you're lucky, fresh produce grown in their organic garden. This is not a place for a quick 30 minute visit. Generous pours and a relaxing environment make it the perfect place to hang out for an hour or more.

Beautiful grounds and tasty wines

By Rob Csenar |

We enjoyed our tasting at Regusci. The wines were very good and the atmosphere in the tasting room was a lot of fun. Having the golden labs laying about was a perfect analogy to the relaxed state of everyone enjoying themselves that morning.

Great winery!!!

By Pnit |

Very laid back and one of the most beautiful properties in Napa. Loved the history behind this winery and the wine was very good. Joined their wine club and are excited to get our first shipment this month.

By AnonReviewers |

Having visited several years ago, we decided to return this visit to Napa. We quickly learned this was a mistake. $25 per tasting is ridiculous and when we inquired about any courtesies extended to locals, we were bluntly informed that the winery not only did not offer any but were not interested in locals. The friends we were with are long time part time residents who regularly bring visitors to various wineries. All four of us are marketing executives in different industries and were astounded by this attitude. There too many good wines in the valley to put up with this rudeness. For the money, Pine Hill down the trail blows Ragusci out of the water!

Perfect

By dannyal2015 |

A group of 6 of us visited on Oct 1, 2018 and we all had a great time. The Regusci property is gorgeous...from the old barn, to the gorgeous plantings, to the wonderful dogs roaming the property, to the wine. Fun, yet relaxing environment. Our hostess (Rita) was fantastic. We will definitely be going back when we visit Napa again.

Historical stop in Napa

By CMA |

The Regusci Wine Tasting Experience and Tour are second to none with gracious hosts greeting you upon entry. The wines are some of the best in the valley and I highly recommend trying the Patriarch and Elders Cab. Don’t miss this stop as you drive back a long drive through the vineyard with anticipation.

Nice Setting

By SIGNALS123 |

Charming winery that has a nice picnic area to enjoy your lunch or snacks. The people at the winery were very accomodating and made sure that our group of ten had a great time.

pricy but generous pours

By careswell |

Our driver recommended Regusci, we had never heard of it. Beautiful location on Silverado Trail. Our server was hilarious! Although the tasting was pricy, the pours were generous and the tasting fee was waived if you purchased over $100, and the standard tasting included $160 bottles of wine when we were there. Although we did not join the wine club, we did take a few bottles home.

Library Tasting

By Darryl D |

My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary in Napa for a few days. Made reservations for a Library Tasting, it was awesome. Our host Paige was a breath of fresh air and filled with knowledge of the wine making process. Rebel tagged along and kept us company. The wines were great and we got to pick up some treasures to bring back home.

Amazing Wine and a fantastic location

By 484kelly |

After reading numerous reviews on here, I decided to book a tasting experience here for our group of 4. What a great decision. These were perhaps the best wines I tasted the entire trip and I certainly left with quite a few being shipped to the house for future consumption. Our experience though was not limited to just the fantastic wines as we were treated to a small tour and and then a ride up the hill on the ATV to get a better look at the winery and area. We even had the family dog "Rebel" riding with us. Our entire group loved this experience and everyone cited it in their top 2 out of the 9 we visited despite 2 in our group preferring white wines instead of the incredible reds Regusci is known for. If any of my friends need suggestions on places to visit in Napa, this one is going way up there on that list.

Loved this winery

By Christine M |

I don't have much experience with wineries as this was my first trip to one. It was one of 4 that I visited. I absolutely loved this place. The story behind this place was amazing. The beauty of the land just made me wish I could have stayed there all day with a glass of their delicious red wine sitting outside overlooking their homemade herb and flower garden. I will definitely do that one day again and I would suggest you do it too.

Great Silverado winery

By James M |

This is a very pleasant Italian Style setting which would be a nice place for a picnic. Very good wines and generous pours. Knowegible friendly staff in an unpretentiousness environment.

A Must Stop

By Huge321 |

We visit Napa every year and Regusci Winery is always a must stop on our trip. The wines are all good and the servers are a lot of fun to talk to. The view is outstanding.

Smooth Wines

By Alison C |

Regusci is open a little later then some of the other wineries in the area which is super nice and allowed us to visit in the short time we had. They had no problem with us sharing a tasting granted you arrive more than 30 mins before they close. The staff was very friendly and made us feel more like friends than customers. It's a slightly smaller winery, but all the wines were very smooth and this place was an easy favorite from our trip.

This winery is “a must” for your trip to Napa.

By Nannette O |

The wines are excellent. The tasting experience was perfect… just enough conversation and attentiveness. I loved all of their wines. Highly recommend this winery.

Great Views/Location

By cptncoke |

Wines are tasty, but the area to walk around is probably one of the best in the valley. The olive oil they make is also fantastic!

Really enjoyed this winery!

By TravelingMom0713 |

I agree with all of the positive comments. The tasting was very low-key but the wines are excellent. You can wander in like I did or schedule a tour in advance. I bought two bottles and can't wait to share them.

By Cmatthewsdmd |

Now let me open by saying I am far from being a wine connoisseur but I do enjoy good wine but what I enjoy more is good wine with a great experience at a vineyard that makes you feel attached to the wine. We made a reservation for a legacy tasting (which I highly recommend) on a slow day and Jason helped us out. He was amazing. He answered all of our questions, was very conversational without feeling intrusive, and overall made it the best tasting possible. I joined the club and I am excited to start getting wine that I know some of the history of. The property is beautiful and it is a wonderful place to picnic if possible. A+ and request Jason if possible!

Simply the best cabs in the valley

By kumarq2016 |

If you are looking for the best cabs, best experience, greatest winemakers, most knowledgeable, friendliest staff with, don’t tell Jim, best pours in the valley.....come to regusci. This is a bottle you’ll rarely see outside of the winery. Make this your first, longest stop in the tour route.

Not worth the time or the money

By janeinlaguna |

This winery is in a lovely location, and some of the wines are well made, but not for the prices. The tasting room staff were inattentive and uninformative. They offered opinions regarding their own tastes, but no explanation of why they had certain preferences, and answered several questions about the wines, sourcing, etc. with "they don't tell us that." Really? We were asking what part of the valley grapes come from, not the source codes for Windows 8. Finally, $25 for modest pours and limited variety is just silly unless the wines are first rate, which these are not.

Great Location, Very Knowledgeable Staff

By Ride A H |

This is a beautiful, family owned and operated vineyard. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Alex, I think was his name, was on day three at the job, and was a wealth of information and a joy to speak with.

Nice spot!

By Karsy68 |

We made a reservation at Regusci, even though reservations are not required Monday through Thursday. We had a nice, scenic view from a shaded spot on the patio. Our host was wonderful, telling us the history of the winery as well as a bit about each wine we tried. We were given a basket of crackers that are made in-house which was much appreciated as we didn't have time for lunch that day.

The property is beautiful with gorgeous flowers, historic buildings, a vegetable garden and of course vineyards. They do encourage people to walk round and check things out a bit. We even had a visit from one of the winery dogs that wanted to share our tasting.

We enjoyed all the wines here and bought the 1932, the Matrona, Chardonnay, Merlot and Rose.

Quality wines with a history

By Chris H |

I couldn't resist adding some of their wonderful wines to my cellar. great cabs and a very nice merlot.

Favorite Winery!

By Erin I |

My husband and I loved this winery! It was beautiful, even on the rainy/cloudy day that we were visiting. Normally tastings made by reservations are right outside the tasting room and cellar, but it happened to be better inside due to unusual weather that day. Erin did a great job explaining the history of the winery, describing the wine, pouring the tastings. Great conversation too, we just had a great time overall. We joined the wine club, since it ended up being our favorite winery that we visited on our trip. Look forward to enjoying more wine over the next year and remembering our time there.

Love quaint location

By kenjde |

Touring through Napa Valley last week, and some of the wine makers. Had been told about Regusci's. Stopped in and was given a super tour by our hostess. She gave us the complete history of the company and described the wines we were going to taste. I would recommend this place to anyone who visits Napa, and on a personal note I would recommend the wines also.

good small family winery

By Tim R |

nice tasting. wines were excellent, especially the high end cab and the zin. we sent some of each home. very welcoming people. met the owner and his wife and they were genuine. pretty property. definitely recommend it.

By CANDS H |

The service and staff is very attentive:) you sure leave with a smile! A surprise to have olive oil and crackers for a small tasting...very affordable and the wine experience fun! Beautiful setting :)

Fabulous Wine Tasting

By Rick L L |

We truly enjoyed our visit to the Regusci Winery. The winery is in a beautiful setting and has a great history. Our host Jason was very friendly and knowledgeable. The wines were very good, so good that we joined their one club. We will visit again!

Delicious wines in an amazing setting

By Erin N |

My husband and I recently visited Regusci Winery after sharing a bottle of their cab sauv the night before at Bistro Jeanty. Our waitress had recommended the wine to us and we fell in love with it on first sip! When planning out our next day of wine tastings, we knew we had to visit Regusci. We lucked out on the weather so we were able to enjoy a tasting on their patio that has a beautiful view of their vineyard and the rolling hills of Napa. The employees were all so attentive and enjoyable to chat with. We got some great history lessons of the family property and start of the vineyard. This is probably the first vineyard I've visited where I enjoyed ALL the wines we tried. They have big, bold reds that are a nice change from the many Pinots you'll find nearby.

Turns out we lucked out that we stumbled upon this great place - Bistro Jeanty is one of the few (only?) restaurants that actually carry their wine. They are a small production place, and we are SO thrilled we found out about them - we can't wait to visit again!

Exceptional wine

By melinda t |

We like the Cabernet - it was exceptional - smooth and soft with a wonderful finish

Beautiful Property and Picnic Area

By Adi314 |

We went to Regusci on our last day in Napa, and it was lovely. We bought a bottle and sat in their beautiful picnic area. The wine was excellent, and the views were gorgeous. The staff was also very friendly. This was one of our favorite winery in Napa.

By M3fenton |

Not sure about others but I go to Napa looking to find new and exciting wines. Regusci is one of those I found on last trip that really got me excited. Price point was very reasonable. If you like big silky cabs that are very complex you will like this wine.
Facility's were big and well appointed but I was more into sampling the wine then I was looking around.

$25 for four extremely small tastings. No thanks.

By psft |

$50 for two people to taste wines that were not that great. Terrible customer service. Never going back and I live near Napa.

Nice tasting room

By MominOC |

A bit boring on presentation but wine was fine. Tasting fee is $50pp but waived on a purchase of $80. Property is beautiful this time of year.

Amazing place with amazing wines!

By suekel |

This review is almost a year late, but I wanted to rave about Regusci anway. We visited Napa in March 2014, and visited about 10-12 wineries over 3 days. Regusci was by far my favorite, the only one we visited twice, and the only one whose wine club I joined. It's not big, but the staff were so friendly, the grounds beautiful, and the wines - oh the wines are so good. My favorite was, as others have said, the Patriarch, but they were all very good. The price point is a bit above my normal comfort zone, but I am so glad I joined because now these wines have become my special occasion wines and I've been able to share them with friends and family back in Texas.

If you go, i recommend a weekday when it's not quite as busy. We were able to sit outside and they brought us each wine at our table. I think we tasted 5 in total. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend!

Beautiful family vineyard and farm. Enjoyed our visit

By Wellness-Itinerary |

Regusci is a charming Winery on the Silverado trail that we were fortunate enough to be able to visit and enjoy a nice tour and tasting on a beautiful morning in May!! There is a lot of history on this property which makes for lots of great photo opportunities starting with the cart filled with fresh flowers and vegetables and fruits from their garden. Rebel, the vineyard pup decided to go on the tour with us and seriously went everywhere with us which was quite entertaining!! This vineyard is unique and the wines were really nice. We even enjoyed the Olive Oils that they produce and bought some to be shipped back home so we could enjoy long after the visit was over.

Lovely scenery and friendly staff

By Bethany |

Loved visiting this vineyard, the location is lovely!!
We only wish we could have stayed longer chatting to the friendly staff and sampling their amazing wine!

Wonderful Tasting of Superb Wines

By SkipperBill2 |

This was our second visit to this winery. We wanted to see how things had changed in the three years since we had a superb experience on our first visit. Well, things have changed due to COVID, but the wine, the views, and the service was still the same --- superb. We look forward to our next visit, and hope it is less than three years from now!

A must stop on your trip

By sharelife2 |

We have always loved the Regusci wines but as we were on our way to Calistoga my husband spontaneously stopped. Best decision for our one day 20th Anniversary trip!

Christopher was so kind and calm. He set the mood for our visit. He knows the wine and the history and really spent time with us. Of course on a Wednesday we were one of maybe 3 clients.

The wine is exceptional. We love Camus and Silver Oak and Rombauer Chard. This winery has some beautiful cabs.

A relaxing and gorgeous experience. The vegetable garden was exceptional. Don't miss out. What we like most is this is a family owned winery.

Frequent Napa visitors, we won't miss visiting this winery! Great wine, winery and people!

By nancy s |

So, if you like great red wine, great people, and one of the prettiest views on the planet, this is it....we have been to Napa over 5x and we always squeeze in a visit to Regusci. Their red wines are great! The winery's family history is heartwarming....inspiring.
Go do a tasting, get a glass of wine and sit on their patio and soak in the lovely, lovely views...it really, really doesn't get any better...we will always return...and buy more wine!

Decent

By Matt S |

Decent wine, expensive tasting for what you got. I felt as though we were given bad/low pours while another table I saw was given refills.

Great

By Brian K |

I received a text from a hometown friend when he found out I was in Napa Valley and told me to stop at this winery. We had a tasting that cost $50, but we had a lot of fun with our new friend John and learned a lot about the business and also about other wineries to visit off the beaten path. Great fun and we purchased a Cabernet that made the $50 tasting go away. Plan on having with the children and maybe doing a taste test with cheap wines to see how we do.

Revisit.

By Russell W |

We came back to Napa and met up with family. We decided to go back to Regusci after a nice visit in 2025.
Our tour guide for our visit was Nicky. She was pleasant and knowledgeable about the winery.
We enjoyed the tour and had many opportunities to samples the wines they produce.

Laid back, great atmosphere

By markbanshee |

Good wine and a great winery to visit. You are greeted by friendly dogs in an idyllic setting. Younger staff that is knowledgeable but not uptight. The patio area is a great place to relax with a wine and a great view of the valley. This is not a large or "corporate" place, simply good wine and a nice set up. Really pretty area for bringing a picnic lunch BUT make sure you call ahead to reserve a table or else it could be a pain (or impossible) to get a table.

Fantastic Experience - twice in a row

By Allecia G |

My finance and I have been to Regusci twice now with other couples - first time over Thanksgiving weekend and the other was early January. The environment is fantastic - there are tables outside overlooking the vineyard and grounds. Each of the servers we have had were very enjoyable and treated us to extra tastings. We love the wines - so much so that on our 2nd visit we decided to get the membership (we are not big on memberships). We are now looking forward to our quarterly wines and upcoming free tasting events!

Beautiful Grounds & Great Wine

By Katie W |

We came here for a quick tasting after our small ceremony and I can't express how happy I am that we didn't skip this because we were pressed for time. The staff were so friendly and made sure that they got through as much of the wine we could even though we were cutting the time short. Very relaxed environment and beautiful grounds. Bought 2 bottles of chardonnay, delish!

Unexpected Treat

By Sandie Y |

Give Jessop's credit, after wine tasting there, we talked about our preference for tasting on the vineyard sites, and could they recommend somewhere, which they did.

Regusci - wow, what a fabulous experience. Having visited many such vineyards in Australia, we became quite accustomed to actually tasting on the estates themselves, enjoying all the ambience necessary.

The wines were superb, knowledge of them exceptional, and an absolute must for anyone looking to appreciate good wine in magnificent surroundings.

Take the Winery Tour

By Daryl C |

You can make reservations for tasting or for a tour at Regusci. Though a little more expensive, I think the tour is worth it. Call ahead. They conduct their tours at 10:30 everyday. We were fortunate enough to have a tour by ourselves. They'll take you on a quick tour of the vineyards to show you some of their old Zin vines and gourmet garden. Then you'll tour the three levels of the old gravity-fed winery. You'll taste throughout the tour, including one opportunity to barrel taste a new wine. Then you'll finish with tasting on the patio overlooking their vines. A perfect way to start the day.

Enjoyed the Winery, Views and Cabernet especially

By Peppygal |

We really enjoyed the tour and great views from the Regusci winery. We enjoyed some relaxing time on their patio after a tour and especially liked the 2010 Cabernet Savignon - do give it a try as well as their 2011 Chardonnay.

Awesome winery-we love Neal

By DTH |

We loved this winery, all the wines are very good. We joined the wine club on the spot and cant wait to go back for the member parties. Neal was a funny guy and we hit it off with him immediately. Very cool place.

Unexpected gem

By Tyberdog |

Knowledgeable, personal staff and outstanding wine. Really enjoyed all aspects of our experience here.

Excellent wines, beautiful vineyard, personalized experience!

By CapitCat |

We are satisfied wine club members and recently did the tour and tasting during a visit. Rachel is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic! We had a great visit, did a barrel tasting of Angelo’s vineyard and it was delightful! We loved hearing about the history of this Stag’s leap vineyard, it’s family ties and evolution leading up to today’s wines. We even managed to score one of the few remaining ‘96 Merlot bottles.

Nice Winery

By OnAJetPlane2 |

Regusci was another one of our stops. Enjoyed tasting their wines and would do it again.

A Must in Napa - Ask for Lauren!

By Stephanie D |

We stumbled upon this winery after meeting a great group of people at Caymus who recommended it. Decided to change our plans for the afternoon and check it out and it was the best decision we made on our trip in Napa! Beautiful view, casual environment, friendly people, and of course, amazing wine! ASK FOR LAUREN!!! You won't be disappointed! And if you take a bottle of wine home, they comp the tasting!

Fantastic wine

By spoonieluv |

Small, family-owned and it shows. The wine is some of the best we've had. Can't go wrong in Stag's Leap! Must stop!

Very nice location, have a picnic.

By guamgirl64 |

Visited on a weekday afternoon, and we were the only ones there. The gal in the tasting room was very friendly and talkative. The wines were very good, but we didn't buy any. I'm not sure why, maybe she wasn't trying to sell. Hmmm. I'd go again as the setting was very picturesque, and sometimes your tastes vary. I only say that because we shipped two dozen bottles of wine home, but so far, only a a few favorites worth raving about. Go figure. But go!

Friendly Fun Wine Outing

By WineEng |

Off of the Silverado Trail, Regusci is an interesting mix of relaxed wine tasting and much better than average Napa wines. The staff here make a wine tasting fun and well worth the tasting fee (waived if you buy wine, and you’ll want to). They let you take your time, not hurrying you to churn seats like some other places.

Overall their wines are excellent, especially their Napa reds. If a nice day, it’s very enjoyable to sit outside in the patio rather than bellying up to the bar inside. If you make a tasting appointment, be sure to ask for that.

Far less snooty than the typical Napa wine experience, Regusci is highly recommended. Cheers!

One of our favorites

By Amy B |

We joined the wine club here a year ago and are really enjoying it. They have a great chef on site and amazing pick up events. We stop in whenever we are in Napa and the tasting room and patio are always humming nicely. The staff is friendly and the grounds are lovely. Their wines are not cheap and at $25 the tasting fee is on par with others. The Patriarch is one of my favorites, though for somewhere around $100 a bottle it is definitely a special treat.

Kinder, Gentler.

By JWellingtonJ |

We were told by the friendly staff that this winery had developed a bit of a "party" reputation, especially around the picnic area. They have changed their policies and it is now a very pleasant & relaxed experience. The grounds are beautiful and the wines are worthy of the Stag's Leap district. We thoroughly enjoyed our tasting experience there.

Great wines and great wine educators!

By 798RandyS |

I learned a lot about the wine region and vineyards of Regusci and their wines are top notch. The tasting was not rushed and the dogs sleeping on the steps to the tasting room were great sentinels.

BIG Red !!

By Paul T |

Four of us arrived late afternoon last Friday from the wet golf tournament @ Silverado. A first impression, you are amazed by the bounty of fresh produce displayed prior to entering the tasting area, picked daily from the Regusci gardens on the property. Then you are awe struck, the outdoor patio seating area has some of the most incredible valley views along the Silverado Trail in the Stags Leap District.
We were invited to be seated in the barrel room due to the wet weather, where Rachel educated us with the history of the family owned estate from prohibition to present. Once tasting started, we requested red wines only, our motto "big red or go home", and as a bonus we were offered a library wine and something special, why say no?? ... the red wines were special, but the Patriarch and '2012-13 Angelo's Cab. were phenomenal, we were all blown away. Rachel was incredible with her knowledge of the wines she was pouring and their process. We were never rushed and felt relaxed being allowed to finish past closing hours. As we departed, we unanimously agreed this was the finest tasting experience any of us have ever enjoyed. Thank you

Excellent Tasting Experience

By D L |

Started with knowledgable, friendly server. She not only offered those wines on the tasting menu, but when I indicated that I was interested in syrah, she brought out four different vintages dating back to 2009 (which I bought at very reasonable price). Also bought an expensive cab that was excellent. Very nice outdoor tasting area. Recommend more for weekday. Gets crowded on weekends. My second visit this winery (last was three years ago). Will undoubtably be back.

Farm to Glass

By JohnLovesSuzanne |

We had a nice relaxing morning talking to the team and drinking their great wine. Rascal and Ruby, the winery dogs, will keep you company. Great reminder that it is all about the agriculture.

If you get to one Winery... make this it!

By ChefPennyTravels |

I know there are 800 wineries in this region but honest to goodness this place is for certain in the Top 10! The spot is beautiful and the wine is solid. Or pretentious. I don’t like to walk into a museum to drink and feel good but rather a home that welcomes me. This place is just that. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and they are doing this because they believe in their products and love what they do. Come be inspired... we became members so yes back for a lot more! Cheers

Beautiful grounds, very good wine

By Stephf54 |

We really enjoyed tour first visit to Regusci. Went with friends who re picking up a case of olive oil for family members. We were surprised by this nice, friendly winery and T Vine next door. Joined their wine club and we're looking forward to our deliveries. The staff was very friendly and helpful, being spring break/Easter week, they weren't crowded. BTW, the 25.00 tasting fee is pretty standard at most wineries. We always share per couple.

Great Wine Tasting

By RickyWolfe |

Awesome wine tasting! The wine was excellent, the staff was very knowledgeable and they let you relax with a glass of wine on their patio afterwards to enjoy the sun.

Well worth taking the chance by just driving up and passing by on the road. Even joined the wine club!

Best Vineyard in Napa

By Vivian I |

This vineyard is by the best best vineyard in all of Napa. Their wines were beyond equisite. Love love love this place!

If you only choose one - make it this!

By Rachel |

This was our last stop on our last day in Napa. I didn't want to do another tour. I didn't want to do another tasting. This winery made me change my mind & attitude FAST! It was INCREDIBLE and ended up being some of the wines we invested in the most.

The winery came to us as a recommendation from my husband's boss, who travels to the region often. We were greeted by two lovely dogs who spent a vast majority of our tour with us (SO FUN!). Christopher was our tour guide and was patient, educational and really great! I LOVED the honor-system market and ended up putting $1 in for the lemon that made it home with me and I was SO excited.

We were educated the entire time and I loved that this is a farm, too! We even took a Kawasaki up to some of the most breathtaking views we had during our trip. I can't wait to return (and open our wine now that we're home!).

Beautiful, friendly, delicious

By zsazsa-stl |

We made an unplanned stop while driving by and were so glad that we did. The staff was so friendly and made us at home. And we loved the patio and the view. This is the Napa I had always dreamed of! The wine wasn't too shabby, either.

Great seated tasting

By jmgrier |

Excellent seated tasting with reservation, with no rush at all. Beautiful view and discussion of the wines.

Truly memorable...

By Tara B |

A group of 6 of us decided to stop into this winery on a recent wine country trip, and now it will be a stop that we will always make when we visit. The staff was incredibly warm and friendly. The wine exceeded my expectations and then some. We ended up taking home their Cabernet and Merlot, and my husband and I are not big Merlot fans. It was just too good to pass up. Monica was a delight, she had such a wonderful history to tell us about winery and all about wine. Thanks to her and Dan for making our trip!! Can't wait to go back!

Great!

By danlaural |

Enjoyed our stop here so much! Joined the wine club and have already received our first shipment! Does not disappoint. Beautiful grounds, old buildings, staff is so friendly. Looking forward to going back with some friends.

Excellent reds and chard

By Tania C |

Almost all the Reds are worth buying. Worth the tasting. Free tasting if you buy a bottle.
Love the people, the grounds, sometimes if you go on a weekday- you will get a little snack with the tasting.
Patriarch, block 3 are the go to wines people! Elders is Meh- it depends on the year.
Sometimes on the weekdays- they pull out the really good stuff, let you taste and sell it. ( 150-200) I got a library magnum there for $200 once. Which is a good deal.

Skip the Sav Blanc and Rose. Seriously. They still need to fine tune those.
The owners wife has a kick A garden- you can buy her fresh veggies on the way out for cheap. Donations.

Love this place! we go 7-8x year and always bring friends.
Look for Paul. He is always there. Little rough around the edges but knows his stuff. You all will like him.

Regusci vino tasting

Stopped with a group of 10 after making reservations. We had a great time. Rachel was a great host. The wine was "good juice." Friendly staff. Would visit again.

A Swiss Italian Approach to Napa Valley Wine Making

By Dr. A. Luciano Stroia |

This is a beautiful place from all standpoints. It is well landscaped, clean and "manicured". They have an excellent line of reds. I particularly liked their Cabernet Sauvignon. I would recommend taking your glass with you and walking the grounds a bit. May go inside for a couple of refills.

Best wine and winery experience in the valley

By Mark W |

If you’re looking for great wine and a gorgeous winery experience you do not want to miss Regusci. The property is beautiful and the building historic. The patio is a wonderful place to relax as you enjoy some of the best wine in the valley. The staff is exceptional and makes you feel welcome and special. The wines are so good that we get regular shipments from the wine club and only share bottles with friends who can appreciate them. Our adult children love Regusci as well; we’ll all be back many more times.

My favorite place in Napa

By luannraej |

Not only is the wine exceptional, but the grounds are phenomenal. We had a wonderful tasting there with an incredibly knowledgeable server. While tasting, you are encouraged to visit their beautifully designed gardens. During the two days of tasting, it has become our favorite place. Very impressive!

Friendly staff, nice tasting, great wine

By EscapeRoomJunky |

We visited early on a Tuesday, right at 10am, and were the first ones there. We were able to start our tasting - we shared a tasting, and they provided crackers with olive oil to try. We really loved the chardonnay and the Cabernet. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We had a great time walking around afterwards and saw the garden, an old fashioned car and the veggies that you can purchase on the honor system (today was peppers).

Nothing Special

By CJG |

Had four tastings and when the wine was brought to us, the server just read right off the menu, so nothing special there. Nice outdoor seating, but not really the best view compared to other places we've visited.

What every wine tasting should be

By Françoise V |

This wasn’t our first visit but it was the most memorable. Johnny led our tasting out on the terrace overlooking the valley, vines and their superb garden. He was friendly and knowledgeable on all the wines presented. We were traveling with our 1.5yr old toddler who was given some grapes, breadsticks and her own water glass to join in the fun. The ranch is beautiful, the wines fantastic but the level of hospitality in this family-owned winery is what shines most brightly. You will need reservations on the weekend but not usually during the week. Make sure to give the winery dogs some love!

Great Wines & Great Times

By DLewis1128 |

Regusci was our first stop on our self guided tour of the Stag's Leap District of Napa. The winery had excellent wines, knowledge staff, and put up with our many questions.

This ended up being the only wine club that I subscribed too as well.

Group trip to Wine Country

By Janis B |

Our group of 12 wanted to visit Regusci because of its reputation. We were certainly not disappointed! John was our host as we sat at a table on the beautiful overlooking vineyards. We tasted some fabulous wines--really loved the Block 27 Cab and the "Mama" wine--Matrona. Everyone in the group purchased some wine. Great experience.

The Best Tasting Room/Picnic in the Valley

By Tony A |

A visit to Regusci properly begins with a stop at the Oxbow, there you pick up the sustenance required to maximize your adventure.
After securing all that you need for the picnic of a lifetime head down the Silverado to this boutique winery to taste, Regusci specializes in big full bodied reds. Make your selection, the flagship Patriarch is my recommendation although the Merlot is tremendous, and spend a couple of hours drinking in the views/weather/food and wine.

Total package

This was the first winery my husband and I visited on our vacation to Napa this week. What a great experience! Courtney was knowledgeable, friendly and a perfect host. Overall the place just has a great vibe. We wish we could have hung out longer. And of course the most important part, the wines are delicious!

Best wine club ever for me

By 64MarkStar1 |

Best wine club I’ve ever joined.
The grounds are spectacular with a thriving vegetable garden.
Saturday events are special and great opportunity to meet people.
Staff is top notch
Knowledgeable but not stuffy
And without hesitation they are so much fun.

Beautiful gardens!

By scm59 |

Oh and the wines are excellent, but a bit pricey. The other members of our group are the red wine drinkers and they love the wines here. I enjoy whites better, this is not the place to try white wines. We also enjoyed a picnic in the picnic area, beautiful spot, the flowers were beautiful and the vines had plenty of grapes on them.

Family Charm, Excellent Wine

By TangoJenn |

LOVED Regusci! One of our favorite places. Beautiful setting, excellent wine sampling. Bring a lunch with you and sit out on the tables! Not crowded!! Enjoyed Erin's hospitality!

Beautiful outdoor area, great wine, great service

By Meredith H |

Our driver highly recommend this winery. Unfortunately I had already made most of our reservations, so we had a limited amount of time here. Our host was Jason, and when I told him this he was very hospitable. Despite our lack of time he still was an excellent guide through their tasting menu. I enjoyed everything I tasted! The indoor and outdoor setting or Regusci is perfect on a nice day. I will definitely be back and bring my fiancé so we can enjoy their outdoor patio, the scenery, and the delicious wine.

There are a lot of nice wineries in the Napa Valley and Regusci Winery is no exception. It has a nice picnic area and the main building--or tasting room--has an elegant, rustic vibe. We didn't do any wine tastings, but we did have a look around and the scenery is very beautiful. If you're in the area, this particular winery is a good one to check out.

Understaffed to handle

By Eric H |

I have visited Regusci a number of times before. We had private tasting reserved for 8 people. Unfortunately, the winery was overwhelmed with visitors and the service was horrible. The winery just didn't have enough employees to handle everyone. Even though we had a reservation, wine was just poured into our glasses with very little discussion about each bottle. I have a number of their wines in my cellar. I was so put off by the poor service, I didn't buy anything this time. I really like the winery grounds and their wine, but I don't recommend going on a weekend in May until they manage their traffic flow better.

Best wine tour

By John B |

My wife and I booked a tour of this boutique winery in Napa. It was sensational due to the guide Chris with a beard. So informative, so knowledgeable, so friendly. This winery has a wonderful history and is very picturesque. There was no hard sell to buy the wines just let’s enjoy! And they are delicious wines to add to the experience. A must experience if in the Yountville region of Napa and why shouldn’t you be!

Best wine you might not be able to afford

By fsdukejr |

Tasting was $30, no appointment needed, one white and 5 reds. We split it. The 2013 Regusci Estate merlot had the most intense, full bodied, tart cherry flavor I have ever tasted. At $55 it was too rich for my budget but I would have splurged and bought it if it had been $25. The 2011 Reguci Estate Cabernet sauvignon had a peppery flavor and was just as unique as the first but at $70, again more than I was willing to spend. The next 3 wines were all very good reds but at $65 to $90, I was not taking any home. I will always remember these unique and wonderful flavors.

Fun and informational, loved the reds.

By worktotravel14 |

Enjoyed our wine tasting, which we did with a person who had grown up across the way in the valley. He gave us rich history of the valley, the vineyards, and the area -- and good ideas for other wineries in the area. We had a lot of fun hearing about the wines and it was a casual atmosphere.

Though they make whites, the reds are some of the best that I've had in the area. They specialize in Cabs, of course, but really take care to bring out the character. And they are not afraid to make Merlot; their version is outstanding. The reds in Napa are boozy, so these definitely packed a punch. '

I went home with 6 bottles and later went online to take advantage of more of their one dollar shipping deal. I buy them for friends birthdays!

Finally, the environs are wonderful. The tasting room is so gorgeous -- rain or shine. We went as the vines were yellowing so loves strolling, as appropriate, through the vines. They had piles of gourds all around. Loved this stop.

A great conversational experience

By Ccc42 |

Casual and relaxed the wine was almost incidental, although very good. As Brits we were instantly grilled on brexit to which we fired back with trump.

We had a very entertaining time chatting with the history major, rugby playing (we had a bit in common!) member of staff who served us and two random Americans who wanted to join in the transatlantic discussion. We were generously shown around as a free extra and had a great time drinking their range of reds which were very good quality.

Set back from the main road the winery is beautiful and well worth a stop. Recommended!

Biggest surprise of our trip

By Bigcityeater |

We had no idea we would like this winery this much. Sitting on the patio with blankets provided for us. We loved the wine and loved the scenery. One of the highlights of the trip

Beautiful grounds with views west across valley

By ChicagoDon |

Good wines in beautiful tasting room, terrace and grounds.

Knowledgeable servers added to the overall tasting experience.

Regusci only makes 6000 cases per year but has a rich 4-generation family history living on-site.
Enormous vegetable garden, shaded picnic area and vineyards to stroll and enjoy.

Fantastic experience!

By seg82 |

This stop was the best experience of our weekend trip. The grounds are beautiful, the people are friendly and the wines are delicious. Be sure to take some time to appreciate the garden area while you’re there!

The best vineyard we visited!!!

By docbob0707 |

We were recommended to try their wines and we were SO HAPPY we did. Forget their white wines and stick to the reds! They have a wine tasting flight that is $40.00 but if you buy a bottle then it is waved. EVERY ONE of the 5 red wines on the flight was OUTSTANDING! We joined the wine club and were able to get selections you can not get in wine outlets. If you like red wines then GO HERE!👌

really friendly

Typical Napa Valley tasting

By Calif_wino |

Located on the quieter side of Napa Valley along the Silverado Trail...family owned, friendly ambience, very nice wines, however, nothing to distinguish from other wineries...quiet during the weekdays, although they claim to be very busy on the weekends.

Excellent Tasting

By phrjeff |

We made a reservation and had a wonderful experience at the "ghost winery". We enjoyed the wines very much and the ambiance was just wonderful.

Stunning

By William S |

One of the oldest winery/vineyards in Napa Valley and also one of the largest. Beautiful original 1800s building serving up some very good wine. Knowledgable staff who were very engaging.

Regusci is a delightful winery

By David P |

The grounds and staff are very friendly. The wine is delicious. We also had a nice T-Vine tasting upstairs.

Excellence

By Tara1013 |

As usual, a great experience at our favorite winery. This time we took a tour, which was well worth it - barrel tastings, a viewing of Mr. Regusci's dusty, tantalizing private wine collection, and a visit to an hysterical winery donkey. That doesn't even get to the wines. They are consistently great, and I can't wait to continue tasting them for years.

Friendly, but small selection

By helsimon |

Tasting room is pretty; make a reservation if you want to taste outside because it fills up on busy afternoons. Dogs were cute, but they are purebreds instead of rescues, which would have been even nicer (and we probably would have bought something if they had been). Tasting room staff is friendly, but they have a rather small selection (3-4 wines total). Vines are old but they used to sell the grapes to others; now they're producing their own. Probably wouldn't go back, nothing out of the ordinary.

One of our favorite experiences in Napa

By Kirsten B |

We went here on a recommendation from a friend and their wine is among the best we tasted. Madison was knowledgeable and friendly, we enjoyed generous pours with no pressure to purchase. You can enjoy your tasting on a patio with pretty views. Their reds are wonderful - complex and approachable. We purchased wine and will likely join their club. Highly recommend a visit!

Set the bar for our Napa tastings

By Lauren S |

We absolutely loved our experience at Regusci. Jacob was our host and did a terrific job explaining the wines, detailing the history of the winery, and answering our novice questions. We had time as we tasted to wander the gardens, check out the cellars and were encouraged to take our time and enjoy the ambiance. They had heaters out on the covered terrace which made for a peaceful time during our rainy winter visit, but we look forward to coming back in the spring or crush season to soak in the full vista. Also appreciated that there was not a heavy sales push, but we went home with a few bottles.

Heaven on earth.

By Chloris B |

Small, charming family estate. Every time I am there they have added a little something extra. The almost three hours we spent here just flew by. Tasted some of the best wines in Napa. Sweet winery dogs greeted you and roamed about. Shout out to Rachael who didn't leave our side and regaled us with stories of the wine, the winery, and her recent travels to Italy to taste wine. My quiet little dog was more than welcome and I could have meditated on the outside terrace as it was so beautiful and peaceful. Old rock building has been transformed into a beautiful tasting room. If you close your eyes, take in a big swallow of wine, and remain calm, you can just feel the past generations that poured their love, passion, and hard work into every bottle they make. This is a very special place and I hope it is around for many generations to come.
