PB Co has recently upgraded this park and it is still a bit of a work in progress, but will have some concessions later. Bathrooms and more parking has been added. Several picnic facilities available. Kayaks can be rented and there are miles of trails for walking or biking. We saw wild turkeys, racoons, a limpkin, alligator, and other birds.

I'm afraid to review this beautiful park because everyone will want to go there! River bend is a gorgeous park that represents what Florida has looked like for centuries. The park encompasses hundreds of acres along the beautiful, natural Loxahatchee River. Canoeing is a favorite pastime here, but the park itself provides many other options. The historic Battle of Loxahatchee Battlefield is located within the park and there are monthly educational tours of the battlefield along with occasional re-enactments. There are other historical sites in the park including an Indian encampment and farm homestead sites. Riverbend Park is crisis-crossed with miles of beautiful biking/walking paths through native natural areas where you will see many types of wildlife. On a recent evening bike ride through the park, we saw in the course of an hour, a raccoon, male and female wild turkeys, a mother deer and its fawn, a snake, and many types of birds. We regularly see animals on our bike rides depending on the time of day and how many people are in the park. There are numerous covered picnic pavilions throughout the park ranging from single picnic tables to large pavilions with multiple table for larger groups. In settings around lakes, along rivers and in the woods, these picnic sites are popular. There is also a canoe and bike rental facility in the park, but their hours vary, so check the website. Enjoy Palm Beach County's best kept secret and make a visit to Riverbend Park soon!

Had a great time biking some of the trails last weekend - we saw peacocks, wild turkeys, turtles, lots of wildlife and beautiful scenery!

Nice area to view wide variety of wildlife. Property is quit overgrown at times and could be maintained better, but don't let that keep you from visiting. Canoeing and kayaking available. Lots of picnic areas.

We come here often mainly for hiking around the park with the kids. We rented the canoe once and had a blast!! Spend the day and pack a picnic whether you're hiking, biking, riding your horse or canoeing. Beautiful park.

This is a great place to load up the bikes and take the family. You may also rent canoes and row through the park. It is really a great place to get back to nature. Plenty of parking and kept very clean.

Was disappointed to discover that on a beautiful day, everything was closed. Unable to rent bike or kayak. Apparently park services are closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Drove around the park. Lots of construction at main entrance

This is a large park with abundant wildlife in a natural setting. My wife and I took our kayaks here and had a great time. We started with a nice picnic lunch at one of the many covered picnic tables provided around the area. There is a nice easy beach launch for canoes or kayaks with parking right there. We chose an easy route to break in our kayaks and paddled and drifted several hours. If you love the outdoors and wildlife this is a nice easy trip to see both. It's only a few minutes from town, so it;s very easy to get to and I-95 is also close by. Don't miss a chance to come explore, and no you don't need a kayak to see it.

There's not much else to do, but this is a great spot to launch a lazy afternoon down an estuary of the historic Loxahatchee River. This is an easy round trip or full float to MacArthur Park. There's a portage, sand bars to play on (watch out for gators) and the delightfully cool clean water. This is also a great spot for hikers & cyclists. Free admission & parking.

Single mom with four daughters always looking for new activities. We love this one! I pack a small cooler with juice boxes water and beer for mom snacks sandwiches. We rent kayaks there. You can bring your own but not expensive to rent and less work. We go north on the river there a two small drops about a foot at the most. If you're not comfortable going down then you can lift your kayak out and over. It's harder coming back so only go as far as you're willing to paddle back. It's all covered with trees so we go rain or shine. I bring waterproof speaker. Everything gets wet so leave valuables in the car or at home.

My wife and I spent about two hours hiking through this lovely forest and well maintained park in Jupiter. It was calm, quiet and a gorgeous setting. We didn't see many birds, but then we were there at mid-day. This park is a great escape from in-season Jupiter traffic.

My husband and I go bike riding at Riverbend every chance we have. Sometimes we walk the trials. There is an old wood mill that I found very interesting and and old Seminole village.
There are lakes and a river that go through the park where you can ride kayaks or canoes (available for rent), Since we live not too far, it is a frequent place to visit for us.

I went back to Riverbend Park with a friend earlier this month and loved it. It really makes a difference when you go with another person. You are walking in the shade and I loved the landscape. This time I saw sandhill cranes, a peacock, cardinals, woodpeckers, wading birds and saw where the barred owls hang out. I didn't actually see the barred owl but I'm looing forward to going back/ As mentioned in an earlier review, it's always better to have a friend with you. It is huge and easy to get lost. There are plenty of maps that you can get at the office on the left side of the park and there are also a lot of signs and portable bathrooms throughout the trail. There are also picnic benches on some points of the trail. Make sure you have plenty of water and snack with you.

This park, located at the headwaters of the south fork of the Loxahatchee River is a gem with kayak, bike and walking trails, picnic sites, a Seminole War battlefield and more. Minimally developed which is a plus. The 12+ miles of trails are well maintained and marked, going past picnic spots and beautiful small ponds. The river is fun to kayak or canoe with 2 launch facilities. Great jumping off point for canoeing the Lox.

Beautiful and serene place to bring out of town guest.
Great running location...if rainy parking can get muddy!

We occasionally get to take a walk at Riverbend Park which is not only an environmental gem but a historical site as well. Definitely a must for a new resident in the area to get absorbed in the scenery and the Indian ruins. The park celebrates junction where the Seminole Indian Wars were fought two centuries ago. However, much of the area seems unchanged from those days with its peaceful and scenic beauty.

There is so much to do at the park. Kayaking, biking, hiking or have a nice family picnic. Bring your own bicycle or kayak, or rent it. My husband and I normally just drive to the park, walk around and look for some photo opportunities and have a picnic. If you are lucky, you may see some of the locale wildlife. It is a great place for the whole family and you can spend the entire day at the park.

It's an awesome park. Great place to canoe, kayak, hike, and bike. I like to go there frequently to enjoy the nature. I recommend kayaking from Riverbend Park to Jonathan Dickinson State Park. It's a long but beautiful excursion.

The park is a quiet oasis filled with lots of hiking or biking trails. The trail surface is gravel so the trails are best suited for slow, relaxing rides. The route takes you through woods, by lakes and classic Florida landscape. There are plenty of places to picnic and fishing is available.

The park is large enough to make you feel like one of the early explorers.....wild Florida.....haven't seen a gaaator but have seen lots of great birds. the trails are well-marked.

They really do the outdoors right in Jupiter!! Saw amazing wildlife and got to try Kayaking for the first time down a lazy river. Had a great time with friends and family

Riverbend Park is an awesome place to bike ride. There are so many paths that even when the parking lot is full there is always an open path somewhere. The paths are all named and signs always point to the exit to help one not get too turned around. We have seen alligators, wild turkey, all sorts of birds, snakes, deer and more here. I never tire of this wonderful park. There are also canoe rentals, or bring your own kayak. The paddle takes you through beautiful cypress trees. If you are ambitious you can paddle all the way to Jonathan Dickinson State park.

It is a wonderful area for hiking, bicycling, canoeing and kayaking. We spent an afternoon biking, rentals are available for all three also. Nice picnic areas, and portable toilets along the trails. Bring your own food and water, there is no drinking water available in the park.Looking forward to returning.

Hiking, boating, etc. Good for a day trip. We enjoy renting kayaks to take down the Loxahatchee River.

Riverbend is a beautiful location wither you want to walk, bike or canoe and kayak. There are so many trails to explore and it is a fabulous place to go and easy accessible even if you only have an hour or so.

We all walk before 9:00 in order to see the deer near the Farmstead trail. At sunset we so see them, along with viewing a pink sunset on some nights. Ride a bike for the longer trails. The flock of turkies walk on Pine Trail.

Perfect place to enjoy a walk while watching the deer and squirrels play. There are bridges and loop paths to enjoy God's creation: pure nature

This park is a rarity these days with all the development in South Florida where parks seem like an afterthought. Hats off to the county for preserving this slice of old Florida. Go early for sightings of wildlife such as deer, turkeys, peacocks(if there are any left), bald eagles on occasion. Many trails to walk, run or bike. During cooler months, take in the battlefield tour.

Kayak launching area for those who bring their own kayaks is great...just a little further than the rental area. The river is above flood level right now and recent winds have made the area after you pass under the major road more difficult. Additional trees and limbs are in the way that have fallen or leaning. Some have camouflaged the way to go. With the flood waters being above the river banks, you must watch the current very carefully or you end up in swamp area...you could get lost. If you find yourself in the swamp...go back the way you came and follow the current... Best to have a guide...someone who has been on this river before during floods. Also, large tree where you might need a friend to help you over. Flood waters covering bank so wear water shoes to protect your feet while doing this. Lowest log is not stable...three logs there. Recommend short kayak...12 or under because of all the fast sharp uturnes where the river winds. Also, if you have arachnaphobia, avoid this trip. My friend did and almost jumped out of the kayak. She also ended up in swamp area because there were so many spider webs and it was distracting from watching current. It was an adventure. DO NOT attempt to kayak back to River Bend from trappers since you cannot see the river during flood level. I talked to biologist before making this trip so I had a friend pick me up at JDSP.

We love this kayaking tour on the Loxahatchee River, which starts at Canoea Outfitter in the park. However, it requires full physical effort: In January, in some places the water was so low that you had to pull the boat. Many tree trunks are lying criss-cross in the water and can not be bypassed. Wonderful nature. On our first trip in November we saw two alligators, an owl and otters. It was colder this January. For this no alligator was around, but we were could photograph a limpkin from nearby. We paddled up to the second ramp and had picknick there.

I had the most amazing birthday kayak trip today with my girlfriend and nephew. Riverbend is truly a must-see. We went to the second dam, winding around the river, enjoying the wildlife and hanging out at the big log. Went swimming by the first dam and by a little beach we found which was closer to the beginning of our trip. Met a park ranger at the first dam and he was so informative and helpful. Saw a gator, osprey, turtles and lots of fish. Look forward to our next trip and can't wait to explore more! Would definitely recommend!!! 1-person kayak ($35); 2-person kayak ($45) for all-day use until 5pm!

This is one of our favorite places to visit. I have taken may photos here and we have had many birthday parties here. The bike trails are wonderful for Sunday mornings. The wildlife is great!!!!

First time, we went just for an afternoon renting 2 boats. It was such an adventure, seeing so much wildlife, alligators, turtles, birds and plants. We were paddling through little creeks as well as more open water, and we enjoyed it so much, that we came back for a day trip which was half in the park, and half outside which was also so amazing, and so wild and adventurous at times and yet safe. I would always do it again when I get the chance.

back to nature a free peaceful place to walk, bike ride use your canoe down so beautiful and peaceful fun for the whole family

On the spur of the moment, I rented a canoe and my two children and I paddled the shorter "picnic loop" trail. It took us about an hour.
The wind was strong and the current running from the recent rain and I was unsure about taking the longer trail. We will be back with a picnic to take the 3.5 hour loop.
We saw wading birds and lots of turtles while out on the water. There were also pretty plants floating in the water and at the water's edge. We loved the peace and quiet of the river.
The canoe/kayak outfitters were professional and helpful and patient (even though it was pretty busy in the office).
We will definitely be back.

I have had the joy of experiencing this park via kayak, bike, horseback and foot tracks.
If you kayak, it will be like going back in time to the true Florida wilderness. It is also a memorial to the Seminole War, with a wonderful walking tour. A hard pack trail makes biking a breeze, as you will want to look out for wildlife along your way.

We rented a canoe and spent the afternoon canoeing. What beautiful sights! So very relaxing. Would definitely recommend to those who like to canoe or kayak!

Coming here is like a sweet oasis. The trees and river seem ageless. The flowers and fauna are amazing. Kayaking down this old river is like stepping back in time. Many aligarors, birds, and deer can be found along the rivers banks. There are also beautiful trails for hiking, equestrian, and mountain biking. This is one of my favorite places in all of South Florida. This is the real Florida.

Great place to go for a bike ride. Crushed shell/concrete surfaces. Bike rentals available (but not daily...check in advance). Canoe/kayak rentals also. You get back in the woods away from it all!

This great park was once the scene of a bloody battle between United States troops and the seminole Indians.
The park is free there's canoeing there's history there's lush long trails and interesting wildlife to enjoy.
Picnic tables and swimming in this wonderful old Florida Park. Enjoy

our non-profit runs a 5k event here every year. This is a great state park with boating, hiking and fishing. Be careful though because you have to take out what you bring in under park rules.

Love bringing a picnic lunch hear. The photo opps are great. The trails are great to run on. About 3 miles worth of paved trails/established trails. Others are a little rough.

Very pleased with this park- great smooth trails (about 11 miles ) for hiking or biking. Neat things to see like an old farmstead ruins and Indian village. Saw lots of birds and raccoons along the waters edge. They have both canoe and bike rentals available.

We spent last Sunday morning at the park, walking for about three hours and never getting tired of the plants, trees, animals etc. a wonderful experience. The trees are amazing,

I've done this trip tiwice before. The river runs thru some beautiful undeveloped areas. It's somewhat challenging but not overly so. If you have a serious phobia about the possibility of seeing alligators, then don't go. I saw only two small ones and lots of turtles sunning themselves on branches.

We took our bikes to this park. Loved that it was free with free parking. The trails are graded trails and very easy to ride. It was easy to bike side by side. Plenty of shaded trails. Loved seeing a Florida hammock and realizing this is what old Florida looked like. We did not kayak, but looks like something we might do in the future.

This beautiful park has something for everyone! There are trails for biking and hiking. Areas for horseback riding, canoeing/kayaking, spots to picnic and bird watch. It is very nice and shaded, keeping it from being so hot. There is also a historic battlefield there. The giant banyan trees are breathtaking. The park offers bike and canoe rentals. They even have a little store for snacks. Truly something for everyone!

We were wondering what to do with our free Saturday morning (so glad we came here). The weather had changed and it was finally getting cool in Florida. We have so many beautiful parks and beaches the selection seemed endless, but we were looking for some place close by. I had heard of Riverbend Park, so we decided to go and check it out.
Sometime life gives you a bit of hardships, and we find that getting in touch with nature does us so much good. This park was wonderful, so many beautiful birds, the most wonderful woodpeckers that I have ever seen. We saw gators, and many other kinds of birds. We also saw beautiful horses; some nice ladies were taking a ride and stopped to cool them off at the river’s edge. She said she was riding a Paint quarter horse, what beautiful animals.
The park has a river that many take advantage of by kayaking or canoeing on it. It seems to wind around the park. There was such a nice breeze as we walked under the trees to try to get pictures of some of the birds, trees and plants. It really is a very special place.
It’s incredible that such a wonderful wild place could be right here so close to the city. There were many shaded areas, were you could have a picnic under the trees, or perhaps you can have a nice BBQ and have your lunch under the many picnic pavilions available without reservations.
This beautiful quiet park was such a wonderful experience. We will definitely come back soon with other family members and enjoy a BBQ. “Friends and nature it does not get better than this”.
BWT there are many trail many under shaded areas, other not so much so the earlier you go the better. All seemed wheelchair accessible, only port a potties available. No fee to enter park.

Love the park. Used to take my bike to the park. Only way to go. Take a bit of lunch and sit under one of the huts and think about what happened 100 years ago. Battles with soldiers, indians and run away slaves. Great place to eat and read a book in the mangroves.

I can't rave about Riverbend Park enough... We're lucky to live < 3 miles from the park and ride our bikes here all the time. Deer frolic regularly, tons of wild turkey, wading birds, and an occasional otter, alligator or bobcat. The "critter crossing" under the Ocean to Lake Trail will take you further "off road" into trails that run along the river and into Jonathan Dickinson State Park. Kayak either inside the park or take a trip back in time down the scenic Loxahatchee River. This park is AMAZING!!!

I made the mistake of trying Riverbend Park in Jupiter, FL for the first time by myself. I would not recommend ever going there by yourself. I got lost. Did not run into any other people on the trails and there was no one around to ask for directions. They have maps throughout the trails, but they were not helpful and I was scared. It does give you the feeling of being in Florida (the way it used to be).The only wildlife that I saw were 2 ospreys that were on huge trees viewable from the road. I did some research before I went and saw photos of wild turkeys, sandhill cranes, swallow-tail kite, deer, ospreys and hawks but only saw the ospreys, I admit that I didn't go early in the morning and was walking around 1:00 in the afternoon but there needs to be much more direction and assistance there. It is beautiful, but I suggest going with a group of friends orwith an Audubon Society that has a nature guide. Never go alone.,

I have walked at Riverbend Park at least 5 times a week for several years. If you pick the right times, you will most likely see deer, turkeys, peacocks and you will always see lots of beautiful birds ...occasionally you will see alligators or bobcats....the scenery itself is a reason to go ...it's beautiful!!

My husband and I walk in Riverbend Park every week. It is hard to describe the serenity and beauty of this park. We always see some form of wildlife on our walks; deer, raccoons, owls, osprey, otters and if you look real hard, gators. The entrance to the park is free and it is open 7 days a week. There is always something going on.Check the website for monthly programs. Boat and bike rentals are available on the weekends.

This place is a little piece of heaven. Natural beauty for picnics, abundant wildlife such as eagles, deer & wild turkey, quiet waterways for fishing, meandering trails for biking or walking. Our usual routine is to pack a picnic lunch, rent bikes in the morning ($10.00 a day/per bike) and ride till we get tired, find a pretty spot (usually Cowpen Lake) and have a picnic. There is also canoe rentals for the boating enthusiast. So much more to see and do here....go and enjoy yourself. No charge to get into the park, plenty of parking.

For $10 we were able to rent bikes for the day. The concessionaire gave us a map and pointed out his favorite trails. We rode for hours through level often shady terrain. The trails are hard packed so easy riding, no sand to deal with. This is the site of the Second Seminole Wars so there is some interesting history. We stopped for awhile and watched two Sandhill Cranes do a mating dance. They were so loud! We also came upon a fawn and saw a Lesser Kite. It's a great place to take a picnic lunch. You can get a basket for your bike for no additional fee. We were there on a weekday during Spring Break and we saw very few people. Kayaks and canoes are also available for rent. We did that on a previous trip and it was great.

Riverbend Park is a 680-acre park in the Jupiter Farms section of Jupiter, in Palm Beach County, Florida. The area includes the Riverbend Regional Park Historic District with Indian middens and a preserved battlefield from the Seminole War at the Loxahatchee River Battlefield Park adjacent to Riverbend. The park includes 10 miles of hiking/biking trails, 7 miles of equestrian trails and 5 miles of canoeing/kayaking trails and includes a section of the Loxahatchee River, a National Wild and Scenic River. A Florida cracker farmstead is displayed, as well as a Seminole-style chickee for picnics.
I have seen all kinds of wildlife in the area; including deer, wild turkeys, an owl, an endangered gopher tortoise and almost every kind of water bird.
Canoe Outfitters can rent you a canoe or kayak to explore the Loxahatchee River.

My sister and I had a fabulous day!
We went kayaking then walked a trail. We ran into 2 deer, they were 10 ft in front of us. They watched us but did not seem afraid.....
I got a mail in my tire as I backed out of the park.
The staff at the kayaking stand were as helpful as possible.
absolutely a great place to visit !!

wild animals, great bike trail, highly recommend to visit, they also rent bikes and canoe, plenty of parking and easy to access

What a fun place! Our family only had a short time to spend at the park prior to our departure, but what a time we had! We rented bikes ($10 for the day), and got great directions from the wonderful gentleman manning the counter. He showed us exactly where to go to see the alligators, and he was right! We saw 5 gators, a couple turtles, and tons of other wildlife. Such a treat for desert dwellers! We will come back next time we are in town, that is for sure!

Really pretty, tropical park. Tons of paths, bridges, palm trees... We plan to go back and rent kayaks there tomorrow : >

Beautiful trails with trees and spanish moss. There is a peacock who lives there if you are lucky enough to find him. We go walking, biking, and love to take our dog there as well.

So many walking and biking trails, paddling, fishing, picnics... a great park. We especially like to paddle the river into Jonathan Dickinson or walk the trails that head to the river for swimming (in recommended areas only - gators) !

The kayak/canoe ride is really good, you can go all the way to Jonathon Dickinson park if you are in good shape.

Went here last week with a friend and her baby to walk the trails. The weather was gorgeous and the paths were well kept for using a stroller. Will definitely be back soon.

I went to go canoeing with a friend and for 35 dollars you can get a double, so not bad. Their is also hiking and a great picnic area. This is by far one of the best parks. Plus it's free admission

This park is conveniently located in Jupiter, on Indiantown Road, near I95 and Florida's Turnpike. Parking is plentiful & now it even has restrooms. There are lots of picnic areas & a canoe/kayak launch. rentals are available. The hiking trails are marked and wind through the park. You will see Sandhill Cranes, wild deer, birds, ducks & wild turkeys. Bikes are welcome. There is no charge.

This park is well organized, serene and peaceful and the PERFECT place for a family outing. The staff is engaging and helpful.
Our guided tour was led by Kim, very knowledgeable and patient with our group. She made sure everyone was participating and enjoying themselves, even though we were all at different levels of kayak experience. She took us to areas we would have missed if we were not with her tour.

Miles of hiking and biking trails. Cycle for hours without riding the same path. Relics from days past throughout, old tractors, wood mill, farmstead and markers showing locations of battles from the Florida Indian wars.

Kayaking the Loxahatchee in either direction is always an adventure. If renting from the park concession, look for the peacock who stalks the parking lot. Bike trails are well cared for. Good signage throughout the park.

There is a bit of construction going on at the moment, but not a big deal. It is so fun to see the park on two wheels and feel the coolness beneath the canopy of trees even on a hot, sunny day. The park was a bit dry due to the drought and not as lush as other visits there. One star of the rating was lowered as the bikes we rented were in awful condition and we actually worried we would break down and have to walk them back or abandon them.

My husband and I rented kayaks and had a fantastic time exploring the river for a couple of hours. Kayak rentals are really easy and affordable ($32 for a double) and Canoe Outfitters staff were very pleasant and provided maps. The river was a little more challenging than we expected with many twists and turns which kept us on our toes. We saw beautiful birds, many fish and turtles and several alligators - one of which was absolutely enormous (8+ feet) and really took us by surprise as we rounded a curve! Definitely worth a visit, but keep a look out for alligators!

There is a great canoe concession where you can rent canoes and kayaks. A trip north takes you into the heart of the first federally designated Wild and Scenic River in Florida. A true sub tropical experience.

The trails here, both by land and by water - show how beautiful our Florida land really is. Great place for photographing nature in its wild home.

Well worth the short drive from I-95 or the Florida Turnpike. See what Florida was like a 100 years ago. Beautiful bike and hiking trails. A nice creek to paddle up or down on, all the way to the Inter-coastal if you feel so inclined. The wildlife you should be able to see include deer and turkey and much more.

This is a serious nature-lover's paradise for walking, cycling, kayaking, canoeing, picnics--also horse trails.
But, it does have great paths and lots of them. Large park. There are Sandhill cranes, wild turkey, deer, peacocks, and other animals to see.

Near the headwaters of the Loxahatchee River, a federally designated wild and scenic river. Awesome, its calm, narrow, fish, birds, animals, bugs and lots of plants. You can kayak, then you have trails for bikes or hiking (bikes are rentals). They preserve site: Battle of Loxahatchee. You might see Peacocks, birds, turkeys, and deer. This park is free.

We brought our own kayaks and did a short kayak trip down the Loxahatchee River. The park is beautiful and seemed amazing for hiking, biking, etc. We dropped our kayaks off at the loading spot which was quick and easy and headed down the river. We saw a ton of birds, turtles, fish, a tortoise, and even a few alligators. The river is beautiful (like being in a jungle) and an easy paddle. We went down river a ways and then paddled back up (not a lot of current). It was a gorgeous trip and we even saw one large alligator with babies just a little ways after going under the bridge. Don't get too close as she is watchful of her young. We would recommend this spot for anyone who loves nature. We would love to paddle further down the river.

This park has it all. The trails are full of all types of plants and wildlife including deer. Great walking trails, exercise, and even events on weekends. Even has an old saw mill. The park and parking is free, Canoe rentals also available. Fun for the whole family.

My son & I kayaked a part of the Loxahatchee river for two hours from the Riverbend Park launch. We wore safari hats. We had mosquito repellent & water. We had water shoes. The staff gave clear instructions to us with the necessary cautions and suggestions. They were knowledgeable, friendly and professional. We grabbed our life vests (provided) and set out. We were both inexperienced paddlers which proved a challenge after the current picked up after the dam. The stunning beauty of the river and all the different trees and wildlife was a sight to behold. This is the REAL Florida. Due to our inexpert paddling, we ran into several cypress knees (and trees) and bushy areas which disturbed a knot of snakes (don’t know what kind, but I screamed). Also, four spiders dropped onto us/into the canoe (big, don’t know what kind). Having arachnophobia, these were potential freak-out moments, but we didn’t panic & just flicked them off without flipping the canoe. It’s nature, it’s their habitat and they were as freaked out as we were. It was a great adventure we will absolutely do it again, but next time we will hire a guide (available) and we learn the fundamentals of paddling correctly beforehand.

Great park with biking, kayaking, walking. We did a kayak tour on the Loxahatchee River...great setting and lots of wildlife along the way. We'll be back to bike.

This park is so beautiful and you feel miles away from any city or pollution. We ride our bikes here and it's just so peaceful and tranquil. Photo taking is also a must and have seen many beautiful birds, rabbits and turkey. Highly recommended for beautiful bike rides!

My son and I spent several very happy hours walking the trails and taking photographs. This is a lovely park and very well maintained. The landscape is true Florida. The signage is excellent and needed because the trails are extensive. We will return.

Lovely park we will return! We had hoped to see more wildlife but saw a squirrel in the jungle and 3 birds on a pond. Peaceful place

lots of wild life if you are patient.. biking , walking or just picnicking ... canoe and kayak available.. bring your horse and trailer

We walked the trails looking for animals and hoping to see an alligator. Unfortunately we didn't get lucky enough to spot a gator, but we still had fun. The trails are packed gravel and we had no problem taking our stroller on them. Trails are shared among bikers and walkers and even a small section where they're shared with horseback riders. People are friendly and acknowledge you with a hello or nod when you pass. We even had some bikers stop and offer to take our picture. We saw birds, ducks, raccoons, squirrels, rabbits, and lizards.

There are beautiful lakes and streams in this small park. You can easily hike from one end to another adding small side trails in a few hours , maybe hiking all together 2-4 miles. The trails are well marked. This is a beautiful park just not large enough.

Crushed limestone paths that wide along the head waters of the Loxahatchee river. Lots of shade with cabanas and picnic areas through out. Pioneer homestead, antique saw mill and weekend battle field tours of the second Seminole war.

I went to Riverbend Park with the same intent that I go to every park in Florida - I want to put my camera to use and capture a few really good landscape and wildlife photos. Riverbend Park didn't really give me either of those, put it did make me see a place that every family in the area should take advantage of. This is a place that's just made for family fun. From canoeing and kayaking on the various waterways, to exploring nature on the vast amount of meandering trails, to "Picnic Island" where I saw families tossing balls around, fishing, biking, enjoying the grills and picnic tables and just sitting around talking, enjoying their time together. If you want a really relaxing, enjoyable time together, take your family to Riverbend Park.

What a terrific morning of kayaking! Our guide Richard was so knowledgeable and we all felt so comfortable with his expertise.
The scenery was spectacular and we did get a couple gator stings.
Will definitely return and highly recommend Richard and Danny at the rental desk…what a friendly team.

Rather than complain, some people just need to learn to wake up early! I went kayaking on the same day there was a rain storm. Plus, summer is coming ya'lls and after all, this is still south Florida but on Sunday, April 11, 2021 we experienced the absolute best conditions at Riverbend County Park. The day was just perfect! The 4 of us were the only ones on the water at 10am and it was secluded, serene, and just absolutely breath taking. Normally on the weekend I wouldn't even consider such activities with the throngs that go out, not to mention we're in a pandemic. And even though I forgot the bug spray, can I say not a single mosquito bite!

Kayaking or canoeing at Riverbend gets you away from the crowds. For northerners, especially, the chance to meander through mangrove and cypress forest is a treat. You'll probably see some wildlife - especially birds (herons, ibis, spoonbills) - including the occasional gator. There are numerous places to pull out if you want to stop for a break or picnic. Best to have water shoes; there are two easy portages (more like a stile over low dams) and one tree down where you may be in the water, so it's best to have your feet protected. If you do the trip non-stop out and back, it is more like a two-hour RT for a kayaker with any experience than the four hours advertised, but a nice chance for a quiet, close-up look at the local environment pre-development.

Glad to have this as our backyard. Great place to bike, hike, canoe/kayak or just go for a walk. Nature, wildlife and beauty all in one.

We arrived around 1Pm and rented bikes - quite a deal at $15 for the afternoon. The crushed-stone trails are generally well-marked and mostly flat with kiosks containing the map placed at strategic locations. To be on the safe side, the rental rep took us over to the nearby kiosk and recommended we take a photo of the trail map to bring with us because for some unknown reason they do not have bike trail maps only waterway maps for paddlers. One of the trails leads you to an old (re-created?) homestead with a paddocks, barn, little garden, water pump, etc. Fun and healthy way to spend a few hours.

Wonderful park great for kayaking, bicycling ,hiking... Horseback riding. Beautiful place, would definitely go back

I have taken two one hour walks in this park, both on different trails and saw deer, beautiful trees, river, foliage and birds. We went early in the morning before it was hot and the birds were chirping. We noticed nice areas to picnic and a place to rent canoes. We also thought the next time we might bring our bikes and ride around. We saw nature photographers capturing the beauty on film and very few few other walkers so it was very peaceful. Old Florida at its finest.

Great place for a hike. Beautiful grounds and plenty to see and do. Very relaxing and good for bird watching.

A great park to walk, bike, picnic, bird watch, horseback (bring your own!) canoe or kayak. A peaceful place to enjoy nature.

We weren't kayaking or bike riding: just walking. And compared to the dozens of parks we walked all over Florida this one's just average. We saw a swallow-tailed hawk and a black runner snake. That was it for wildlife during a two-hour walk. The trees and foliage were about the same as what you'll find at MacArthur State Park but at that park you also have a boardwalk to cross the Intracoastal and then paths to get to the ocean. By comparison, this park is a bit boring. And it doesn't offer all that much shade. There are signs commemorating the Second Seminole War and with iPhone in hand, I read some of the history and found it interesting. That took about 2 minutes. I'd recommend renting a bike and/or kayak for a richer experience.

I have been there numerous times. I have hiked, rode my bike, canoed, kayaked. All activities are very enjoyable. It is a very pretty park. You can possibly see, raccoons, turkey, deer, alligators, very large selection of birds. Call to make sure they are open if you are going to rent canoe, kayak, or bike. Worth it.

I live in the next town to the north and had never heard of this beautiful free park. I launched my kayaks there and headed towards the dams. You instantly get sent back in time to the real feel of old Florida. Dense woods of old oaks, cypress trees, and sable palms bending over the water. The river gets narrow, winding, and swift current in certain sections. A beautiful fun run with a some gators. Avoid holiday weekends because of rowdy drunk trash-talking hillbilly yokels.

Love the trails for biking or hiking, the waterways by canoe or kayak, plenty of picnic areas for the ideal family day.
Plenty of wild life such as wild turkeys among many others.

Bike trails, running paths , exercise stations, picnic areas, kayaking. Love the full moon bike ride $5. well worth it

I went for a bike ride with friends. I used my hybrid bike. The trails were not all paved, but it was still fine just with a hybrid. A couple of friends used their mountain bikes. The scenery is like one would imagine it looked like here before all this development took over. Plus there is wildlife - we saw deer and wild turkey and the usual water birds like egrets. The park is not crowded with families because there are minimal facilities. I did not see any bathrooms - just port-o-johns. They rent bikes and canoes. I've also hiked there and enjoyed it very much. I saw a lot of runners. It is one of my favorite parks in Florida. If you love nature, it is a must see. Thankfully, I did not hear any boom boxes.

We rented bikes and saw a group of pileated woodpeckers. I have also kayaked on the Loxahatchee there amid the hanging moss etc.

We've always enjoyed hiking, biking and canoeing at Riverbend. It's a lovely and accessible place to go. The new (I think) butterfly garden by the main restroom building is beautiful! I saw several monarchs come by for the milkweed and a zebra enjoy other plants there.

We had great fun bike riding at Riverbend. There are lots of trails with all kinds of wildlife to keep an eye out for. Free parking.

If you want to get away from the every day hustle and bustle of our fast-paced lives, give this place a try. You won't be disappointed. I have my own kayak, so for me, this is always a "no cost" exhilarating experience. You meander a slow-moving stream through ancient cypress trees that soar up skyward and provide a canopy of welcoming shade on hot days.... If you pay attention and look closely, you will see alligators either lying on open banks or their snouts just above the waterline, not to mention the awesome variety of birds. The fauna is green and lush… A hidden paradise! At one point during the trip downstream, you encounter a slight drop we the shallow stream rushes down over logs that have been specially placed, or you can choose to get out of your craft and pull it over a graduated dock with ramps.
With all the alligator sightings in the water a dark tannic color it amazes me that the park allows paddle borders. The park has plenty of canoe and kayak rentals to enjoy a few hours on the water and under shade. The park also has several bike trails and picnic areas to enjoy.
One time while in the trailer where they rent equipment, have books for purchase, beverages and snacks, there was a staffer….an old gentleman who was very fascinating to listen to as he knows the history of the area well; pioneer families that settled in they're sent day park area and even personal recollections of the legendary; "Trapper Nelson"... The famous recluse who lived up river from the park.

We brought our bikes and had a fabulous day this past week. We saw deer (and new fawns), owls, and a host of birds.....trails everywhere. It is a fabulous park! They have more trails than I can mention but you can walk or bike rider for a half day and not see everything.

The kayak trail through the park is wonderful. We saw an alligator, turtles, a variety of birds, including osprey, herons, ducks, The forests, swamps and meadows surrounding the waterway are beautiful. The trail is marked (a map is also provided).

If you in Jupiter a great place to relax and hear nature is river bend park. My wife and I go there often riding our bikes or walking . There’s 20 some miles of crushed stone paths. Easy to ride on at all ages . We usually go in the mornings or late afternoons at 8:00 am Or 2:30-3 pm It’s not crowded and the deer are out and about . Lots of wild life and a bird watchers paradise. Take some water and a light snack . We are usually there for 2 hours . There are one or two portable bathrooms in the area but a full rest room and water supply is only in the main parking lot .
Don’t miss it if your visiting ir your a local . One of Jupiter’s greatest places .

Beautiful place however you can't take your dog there. It's a nice place to spend time and you can kayak there too. Take it all the way to Jonathan D Park. Great fun.

Visited this park many times for hikes, with groups. This park is clean, and very well maintained. The blazes are very clear and visible. It's a peaceful park, never disappoints.

Richard was an amazing tour guide, very friendly, as well as helpful, kind, and funny. The views were really pretty, we had a safe and fun kayak ride, and he made our experience very enjoyable. Overall it was a great experience, one we will remember.

Me and my husband often riding our bikes there. Awesome place! I would definitely recommend it for bike ride and hiking.

We bring our own canoe and rent 1 or 2 kayaks for teenagers and friends for $30 or canoes are $40 for the day. The loxahatchee river is one best outdoor excursions for family's w teens looking for something fun. Adventurous and gives arms a workout. Go right or west to go to the 2nd dam. Altho we dont swim anywhere due to gators, except at the dams where there is usually a rope swing and cross over to pull canoe over. Expect plenty wildlife and great for nature lovers. We pack couple coolers with drinks, lunch and snacks. We started at about 10am went to 2nd dam and made back around 5 or so. Definitely recommend.

My wife and I come here occasionally to kayak. There is a nice sandy beach area for launching. The river is narrow and calm and very scenic. You will see fish jumping out of the water as well as seeing them swimming in the water. You will also see water fowl, turlles, frogs possiblly an alagator and a snake. There are trees along the banks that offer shade at times while on the river. The park is beautiful and well groomed. There are picnic areas with tiki huts along the river too.

Nice park. Lots of trails and a historic site. Jupiter outdoor center rents kayaks and paddleboards there which i highly recommend (thats why we went) and it was a nice paddle.

We walk in Riverbend 3-4 times a week & love it. There are so many different trails with different sights. If you like nature you'll love it here. You can walk, ride a bike or kayak the loxahatchee river. No dogs allowed hooray! It's well kept but natural. We've seen deer, wild turkeys, peacocks & too many birds to name them all. They also have talks on the battles that were fought there if history is your thing. Get out & enjoy a very special place in Jupiter.

Another amazing park in Florida. This one has no entrance fee, as it is owned by the Palm Beach County. There is hiking, kayaking, canoeing, cycling, equestrian trails and enough natural beauty to dazzle. We rented bikes at the concession stand for $10 each for the day and rode 15 miles of trail, stopping for a picnic lunch. Saw lots of wildlife, so bring a camera. Don't miss it.

I've been to loads of parks all over the state for walking-hiking. This one is the best! The paths are well-marked, and the surrounding nature is stunning. Access is easy-- less than a mile from I-95, and plenty of parking.Since the paths are interlocking, you can walk for as long (or short) as you like.I walked for 2 hours, and could have done more but it was getting dark. Be sure to do the Reese and River Walk Trails, and the Cow Pen picnic area-- you won't be sorry.
Make this park a must if you are in the West Palm Beach area.

We'd planned to cycle around the trail but on arriving at the site found the rental concession was closed Tuesday and Wednesday something our guidebook failed to point out. Although disappointed we went To the park rangers office to see if there was another place to rent from. The lady there was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the park. She suggested routes to follow to give us the best possible opportunity to see what we were interested in.
The upshot was we got to see far more walking around than if we had either cycled or kayaked through the park. Its a beautiful place and definitely worth visiting for a gentle or long walk, there are multiple options. We saw several species of raptors, woodpeckers, blue jay, robins and many others. Lots of picnic areas in good condition were the icing on the cake. Go visit!

It's a pretty large park that is quiet. They have canoes that you can rent, however, I wouldn't go too far out because it's easy when you are going, but coming back it can be difficult since you are going against the current. They also have biking and walking trails and picnic areas. They have orange and grapefruit trees, but the oranges are wild and are sour. I'm not sure if the grapefruits are edible either.

We had so much fun and Richard was the best guide!!! Thank you and we'll be back!!! Not to tip the Kayak again though! Lol

We were in Jupiter visiting a friend and decided to check out this park when we had a free morning. We were so impressed! The trails are well marked with "street signs" and we noticed that the waterways for canoeing and kayaking also had trail signs. The map available at the visitor center was a tremendous help as well. The trails were hardpacked for easy walking, so what started out as a quick visit for us, turned into a 2 hour hike. That's saying a lot for 2 "seasoned citizens"! The park was very busy with friendly walkers, runners and cyclists and we thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent here.

Riverbend Park means many things to many people. To me, it was alway a special place my boyfriend and I shared on the weekend. We hiked through out the park and on Memoral Day a couple years ago we had a picnic in the park but last October. In fact October 20th, changed my life in the best way possible my boyfriend proposed to me at our favorite picnic area in the park .Of course, I said yes after we left the park that afternoon we went to Hamilton Jeweler and picked out rings. After we had a romantic dinner at the restaurant we meet a year and half ago we came home to show the ring to my parents and told them we had set the date for December 18, 2012 and we planned to have the wedding and reception at the beautiful Colony Hotel poolside and then that spring my wonderful husband took me on a 3 week honeymoon to romantic Italy for 3 weeks

What a community asset this wonderful park is. The 1.5 mile exercise path is designed to work all parts of your body with different stops and recommended stretches, etc to do at each one. The path is wide enough to accommodate runners and walkers going in both directions and is well-padded so it's easier on the knees than the asphalt sidewalks. Big grassy expanses and lovely plantings are carefully tended so the park has a well-groomed quality.
There are benches all along the path and in another section of the park, covered pavilions with picnic tables and grills.

A fantastic trail system set up for specific types of trail adventure. Horse trails, biking trails, hiking trails, beautiful pavillions for picnicking. Kayaking and canoeing on the lovely river with lots of wildlife. And experience you don't want to miss!

Do you want enjoy some breath taking kayaking? Come to Riverbend Park, rent a couple of kayaks and have a beautiful day. See native wildlife and fauna as you meander down the river. It's such a great get away that is still so close to everything. You will love it

We love going to Riverbend Park and biking. It's about a 6 mile loop and it reminds me of "old Florida" It have never been crowded when we go there, but often times the parking lot is full. They offer a battlefield tour on Saturday mornings and also one can rent bicycles or kayaks there. Lovely, lovely place.

Lots of little paths that connect through a lovely park. Flat and off road it's an easy ride or walk. You can't clock a lot of mileage on a bike bc it's not very large but for an hour of relaxed riding it does the job. Or just go for a serene walk passing wooded areas and streams.

I always go here every couple of months to go kayaking. Its so serene and peaceful. You kayak down the loxahatchee river and you can actually go down the whole river, it'll probably take you a couple of hours. Last time i went in June we saw at least 6 gators. They don't bother you and if you go to close to them they sink into the river. At the beginning of the river there's a little dam so you get to go through a 1foot waterfall lol. The kids would love it. The river is covered in the cypress trees with all the hanging moss. There's parts where you'll get some tough current but not too tough.

One of the most beautiful rivers in Florida. The top part of the river about 4 miles above trapper John's is narrow and twisty. The bottom 6 miles is a lot wider but awesome scenery.

The river is wild and scenic and amazing paddle. The staffing is wonderful. Bike riding in there is awesome. Walking is awesome One of Florida's wild and scenic Rivers

There were a lot of paths that were well cared for. Next time we'll both take bikes and the kayak. Very nice park.

Warning: Call ahead to ensure the water level is high. This park I only use for kayak adventures. They have a nice mostly covered river that you can canoe or kayak down, which includes some man made waterfalls and lots of wildlife. If you are more experienced than you can make it down to the store which is located off the river trail. I only recommend this for high adventures. There are alligators, and no staff members available. An at your risk adventure, go with friends or a partner.

We visited Riverbend Park to go kayaking and really enjoyed the journey. The trip we took was only about a two hour round trip, but we saw wild turkeys, peacocks, turtles and even a very small rapid. The waterway was through old cypress hammocks, so it was cool and shady for most of the trip. The park also has a few miles of walking and biking paths, which we weren't able to enjoy, but will definitely go back to try them out.

Canoe Outfitters I guess was the vendor. Their website is still up and makes it seem like they are operating. We got there only to find there is no more vendor and won't be any rentals until summer 2018. We left at went to Jonathan Dickenson park about 20 minutes away. They have canoes, kayaks and boats for rent but beware there is no shade. We were really looking forward to kayaking a shady spot, which is very rare in Florida. Disappointing.

Absolutely worth a visit ! Great trails, especially for South Florida ! There is even a small waterfall

We love Riverbend Park and all it has to offer. We have canoed, kayaked, biked and hiked in the park. I must say our favorite is biking. You get to see so much - including all kinds of wildlife. If you are just visiting, bike and canoe rentals are available. Also check for the various guided tours on bikes and canoes - make sure you check this park out - you will love it!

This is a large, very well maintained Park just off I-95 and Indiantown Road in Jupiter Florida. Upon entering the park, a small store sells water, snacks and gifts. The building also doubles as the rental office for bikes, canoes and kayaks. Maps of the park are obtained at the office. Throughout the Park, kiosks display where you are and a larger version of the Park. The trails are wide, dry and easily walked or ridden by children of all ages. The Florida Trails meanders through a section of the park allowing the increased likelihood of wildlife. I have seen turkey, large woodpeckers, an owl, alligators etc. A section of the Park is dedicated to a Seminole Indian battle. An interesting kiosk displays Seminole Indian culture and a description of the battle. Beautiful old Oak trees fill the area nearest the battlefield. There are benches and picnic tables in this area. This Park is known for kayaking and canoeing the Loxahatchee River. Especially nice is the ability to canoe within the Park. No "up stream battle" at the end of a perfect day. You can spend as little as an hour and half canoeing or more never leaving the Park. Grocery stores to the East of the Park make picnic lunches the best option or drive 10 mins East on Indiantown Road an enjoy lunch at a number of restaurants.

If you just want to walk in peace and quiet or take a bike ride. This is the place. You can pack a picnic lunch and eat at the picnic area or along walkways and the river. You can kayak. There are also plaques with information about various battles fought years ago in the park. We've frequented the park many many times.

There is so much to do at this park, between cycling through the beautiful trees or the sandy brush on the outskirts of the park, to kayaking and canoeing in the rivers that snake through (make sure the water's high!) to hiking, walking, picnicking, and so much more. I've been multiple times to go kayaking and cycling, and there's so much nature and history to experience, you can spend an entire day there and not do the same thing twice. Now that I'm reviewing it, I think I'd like to go again! Perfect for a solo day, for couples or a family setting. Bring water and sunscreen, and maybe some bug spray depending on the weather!

The perfect place to to soak in the stunning Loxahatchee river and all of it's wildlife. My friend and I wanted to kayak. We wanted to get a workout in while enjoying the great outdoors; all of what makes Florida so beautiful! We found the best place for this. The paddling trail was nice and shaded in some spots and bright and sunny in others. To say it was beautiful is an understatement. Wasn't too crowded and everyone we passed by was super friendly. I saw a lot of people biking which is definitely what I'll be doing the next time I'm fortunate enough to visit. To kayak in a single is $30 which isn't cheap, but worth it. 2 thumbs way up for this hot spot.

beautiful park for all kinds of activities, biking, running, hiking, photography...very peacefull, quiet in the afternoon, apt to see deer, manatee, gators

Somewhat off the beaten path, this park is well worth going too. It has offers so much.
When you first drive in, there is a welcome center of sorts, and parking. We by passed this and kept driving. There are many other parking opportunities along the way. We drove to the end , where the boat launch area is and parked there.
There were some wonderful walking or biking trails there, and the scenery was lovely.
We noticed there were PortoJohns but no other rest room facilities at this location

Beautiful wilderness setting with canoe rentals, making it super easy to get on the river. We always spot alligators with their babies. They also have wild peacocks near the parking lot.

Recently, friends and I kayaked this breathtaking river. One double kayak was about $26, and was MUCH easier to navigate on this twisty-turny river than a canoe. The ride down the river was very, very easy. The way back was a bit more difficult, but it wasn't horrible.
On a Saturday, the river was dotted with many canoes and kayaks, but it was never over-crowded and there were many stretches of beautifully quiet river. We saw about 5 alligators sunning themselves on the banks of the river. They were SUPER lazy and nothing to be afraid of. We also saw turtles, birds, and the river is so shallow and clear we saw tons of fish from the kayak.
I loved this excursion! I will be absolutely be back!

My wife and I will occasionally take a stroll in the park, we don't live too far away. Within the park is an interesting little sawmill and some re-creations of structures from the 1800's. However, I simply like the walking trails, especially in the areas with the heavily wooded live oaks. The park is more enjoyable in cooler weather though one can bike or canoe or walk in it year round. We've seen all manner of water fowl, wild turkeys, white tailed deer, armadillos, racoons, etc.

A surprise this close to Jupiter. My wife and I prefer more natural trails but this park impressed us with the well maintained mostly paved paths that wind through some very beautiful areas of natural Florida. Hiking or biking are easy and enjoyable here. The sights are wonderful with wildlife present. We saw four deer feeding as we rounded a turn. We helped a turtle cross the path (really!) The paths are for the most part shaded but sunscreen is always a good idea here in Florida. There were no insects on our trip but could be later in the summer. Take water with you as there is no drinking water at the park (huge renovation taking place at the visitor center and there may be water when completed). We were completely satisfied with our hiking here. A bonus, there is no way you can get lost as the paths are well marked.

Looks like a pretty nice park and offers lots of hiking and bicycling trails, Did not get to do many of them but the ones I did were fun. lots of birds and the creek that goes right through the park offers cannoning and Kayaking as well. Looking forward to going back again soon and spening a day on the trails

We love to bike ride (rentals available) for miles on wonderful trails that lead back into areas that have deer and other wildlife, especially at dusk. There are picnic areas, canoe and kayak rentals (short excursions (back and forth on the river) or a longer all day through Jonathan Dickinson State Park for the more adventurous crowd that wants to spend all day on the river - you will need to plan ahead and get there way early... you have to be at the end by 4 PM for pick up - not for anyone with health issues). There are many nice bridges and one day the bike trail will go from Lake Okeechobee to Jupiter and the Ocean all in a continuous green way. There is a little general store for snacks and cold drinks, but you can also bring your own cooler. There are barbecuing grills by some of the picnic areas if you would like to cook out with briquettes of charcoal for burgers or hot dogs. Wonderful fun day! Enjoy!

We travel by RV so we can cover a lot of territory without backtracking. We bring our own bikes and kayaks and thus do not depend on places being open or convenient rentals. This river is a very easy one to navigate with or without the map. It meanders along and requires minimum effort so beginners would like it. Turtles, deer and alligators were our reward for the effort and there were several birds along the four hour tour. Not many bugs, but it was a very warm day and they may come out in the late afternoon. Sunscreen a must here. There are places to picnic, trails for walking or riding your bikes or just sitting and relaxing. You may stumble on a deer or two if you are quiet. I keep a camera in a waterproof box in my kayak and it is always "on". Spare battery helps. You sometimes have to move fact to catch a good picture.

If I reviewed this wonderful preserve before it's worth another visit. Riverbend Park in Jupiter Florida is a hidden gem only a few miles from downtown Jupiter and less than 1 mile from I-95! We walked 5.6 miles on several trails on a beautiful day. We saw 3 deer, 2 very large alligators, countless exotic birds, a raccoon and 12 horses with riders! One of the special attributes of this large preserve is you never know what you'll see but you're assured of seeing something. The park rents bikes, canoes and kayaks at very reasonable rates but not on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Visit the park on a week day if you can but the park is so large it can accommodate a typical weekend crowd. Take a picnic lunch as there are many picnic tables dotted throughout the park. Plan on bringing your trash back out with you. Enjoy this beautiful resource!

We feel very fortunate to be about five minutes away from this beautiful park. We enjoy bike riding on Sundays. It is never crowded (so far) and is a natural park-no cement, just nature trails. Just east of Jupiter Farms, and a little west of I-95 on Indiantown Road, a great place to enjoy the serenity and fresh air nature has to offer. There is a little business there that rents canoes, but sorry, I don't know that much about that attraction.

Step into nature. I didn't know there were alligators in Jupiter! Definitely worth a visit. Kayak & Bicycle rentals too. Picnic tables beneath little roof huts for shade. Bring a cooler & grill food. REALLY REALLY nice park to spend a couple of hours enjoying the outdoors (aside from the beach of course)!

A recent upgrade has made this park one of the best in south Florida. Beautiful place to walk, bike, rent a canoe, take a guided tour of the Loxahatchee, and visit the former home of ?. The best thing is to rent a canoe and take it down and back on the river. Probably the best canoe trip we've ever taken.

Free park in Jupiter where you can rent bikes or canoes (currently the shop is closed due to construction) or bring your own bike or just take a jog along the trails. Beautiful tree lined paths with directional signs to help navigate the expansive trails.

Great place to go and bike, walk, kayak, and picnic. There are trails for biking and walking, or horseback riding. You can rent bikes and kayaks.

One of the best surprises in Jupiter. On our last visit, we saw deer, turkeys, alligators, owls, nesting birds & walked with a family of sandhill cranes -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9qP-oqA8Ds
Miles of hiking, biking & horseback trails. Trails are well marked so even if this is your 1st visit, you won't get lost. Maps (with the famous 'you are here' marking) are posted all around the park. Lots of shade. Free guided tours of the Seminole War battle site every weekend. You can rent a bike or canoe or bring your own. Free admission & free parking. Never over crowded. Gives you a taste of what old Florida was like. About a mile west of the turnpike & I 95 exit on Indiantown Road.

We have been to this park about 2 yrs ago and went back last weekend. Beautiful place and we had decided to rent bikes. We walked in to rent 2 bikes and they were all unavailable, which was ok. But the guy at the front was NOT helpful nor seemed to really care to be there. Before we walked out there were 2 ladies wanting to rent bikes too and he took their cellphones and their names for when 2 came back. Which i thought was a lil weird that he wouldnt accomodate us the same. But if u want to walk the trails or have ur own bike/kayak def. go here!

This park has an extensive system of paved trails for hiking and bike riding. It winds along the Loxahatchee River and it's streams. There is also canoeing, kayaking, and horse riding available. Picnic areas can also be found throughout the park.
Located just a short distance west of Jupiter it's not hard to find.
Good for the entire family or time alone to read, plan your future, or reflect on your past.

Travel Thru My Eyes, Let's GO

We enjoyed a nice mid-morning walk through the extensive trail system in the park. Many of the trails are mostly covered by the high canopy of trees, but dappled with sun in some places. The directional signage is quite helpful and clearly marked on the pathways. A handful of the trails have some exposed roots, so watch your step as to not catch your foot. If you are planning on walking the trails, I would recommend wearing closed-toed comfortable shoes, as you may run into some fallen palm fronds and loose dirt/gravel here and there.

We are inexperienced kayakers so we took the picnic loop. Takes about 30 minutes to go around. We did it twice. Saw an alligator, numerous birds and stopped at the picnic area for a break and to walk a bit. A very nice experience and we would recommend it to anyone visiting the area. It was $30 for a single kayak and $35 for a double. You could use them all day.

Great place for hiking, biking, picnicking and even some fishing spots. All ages will enjoy. Wildlife in area includes turkey and deer. Kayak/canoe launches too.

Not far off the interstate, and out from Jupiter, Fl. Great walking and biking trails. Also places to kayak and canoe. We even saw an alligator (well away from walking trails), plenty of birds and no problem with bugs or other pests. We walked about 5-6 miles both times we visited and had a great time

Real gem of a place to have so close to town. We trail ride our bikes there several times a week, perfect for the hot summer months as its very shady, lots of different trails so never feels crowded and plenty of room for bikers, walkers and runners. Often see deer, owls, gators, hawks and if lucky maybe even a bobcat and an otter.
For some extra mileage we go across Indiantown Road and ride through Cypress Natural Area to JD Park. Can get a nice 15-18 mile ride in easily. Place to rent bikes and kayaks on site. Loxahatchee River is a lovely kayak trip as also mostly shady. They have a few facilities here and some picnic shelters. Interested in history then check out the last Seminole Indian/ American battle site. Park is being added to, will be huge once it's finished.

adjoins the Loxahatchee River Battlefield Park. Great for walking with the pups, riding a bike, canoeing, terrific old wild Jupiter.

Great place for a picnic, bike ride, or just a pleasurable walk. You can canoe here too! Great place, come here with family and friends a lot and everybody who goes loves it.

Kayak rentals were very reasonable. Don't bring you camera with you, this may seem obvious, but I had never been before, and our kayak flipped. The scenery is so rustic, and you will wish you brought your camera!!

Love this park. Its huge! And it offers all kinds of outdoor activities. You can hike, bike, canoe, picnic. Its great to have a little bit of nature so close!

This park is just another reason to count your blessings you live in palm beach county. From sports facilities , beach parks and pavilions to wildlife parks like Riverbend we have some of the highest quality public parks in the country. Always well maintained and available to the public, visitors always are in awe of our parks.

I love this park. We are so lucky to have Riverbend Park in Jupiter. Lots of times I see peacocks in turkey and there. I love being able to canoe down the Loxahatchee and launch my canoe inside this park. Lots of bike riding and also people that live in Jupiter Farms ride their horses through, a lovely park. Hope it stays this way.

Our experience at Riverbend has mostly involved kayaking on the Loxahatchee. We like it enough to do it four times a year or thereabouts, and it's where we always take out-of-town guests. So that should tell you something. That said, our experience on the river has been great at times and frustrating at times, the latter mostly due to other people. On weekends and holidays, the park and river is to be avoided, especially during high season (winter) and the peak of summer. The river is crawling with rednecks and idiots, and I say that with no particular hatred but only with a love of accurate description. They aren't supposed to be drinking, but they are. They show up with coolers the size of the space shuttle, they yell at each other at the top of their lungs across the water (and then wonder why they don't see any animals), and they leave garbage everywhere. They're rude and loud and they ruin the experience of the park and the river, Now, when they AREN'T there, the place is a little slice of paradise. So plan your visit accordingly for off hours during the week and not during tourist peaks. The people who run the only kayak/canoe concession (so you've got no choice) are grumpy, uncommunicative, and at times outright rude, but you don't have to deal with them for long. Get your kayak and be on your way. (For reasons known only to heaven, they are closed on Mon and Tues.) The other thing to keep in mind is the height of the water. You can call the concessionaire to get a reading before you show up. High water makes for slightly easier paddling (though you're always going to be paddling against the current on your way back) and means you can sail over the dams without portage. But it also means you probably won't see many animals and especially no alligators -- when there's lots of water, they scatter into the swamp (probably in part to get away from the screaming hordes; see above). Low water = more alligators but a rougher time on the river. You may have to get out and walk your kayak/canoe, and the way the first dam is set up, it's a pain in the butt to get into and out of your watercraft and walk over. Not for anybody with mobility problems, that's for sure. The park itself is best when it's less populated, and there are decent picnic facilities within an easy walk of the parking lot. There's no fee for the park itself.

The Princess Aquatic Preserve boat the was fun, interesting and informative. The Captain answered questions and shared colorful experiences.

The canoe or kayak trip is a must do. It's one of the last wild rivers without development encroachment left in Florida. The only negative is that I can't take my dog while I jog there. No dogs allowed. Too bad as he's well behaved on a leash.

This is one of my all time favorite parks. I ride horses there with my Gaited Trail Riders Group. I also patrol as a mounted PBSO volunteer in the park. Bike riding, canoeing, hiking, photos of the local animals like birds, deer, wild turkey, bobcats, etc. There is also a group of us that get together to exercise.

Lots of trails, wildlife, water, kayaking etc... I go here all the time and do go kayaking and walk the trails. I've seen wild Turkey and Deer several times. Great place.

My wife and I brought our bikes to River Bend park over the weekend. We packed a lunch and rode the many beautiful trails until we found a great picnic spot by a lake. The trails are not crowded, safe, and clean.

this is nature at its finest... Lived in the area all my life but just discovered the park.. So much to see and do with many trails for biking or walking and plenty of waterways.. enjoyable picnic areas as well..

Riverbend Park is a nice place to relax and walk though typical Florida scrub. The most interesting section is a part where you are likely to see alligators and it is carefully marked with signs.

My family and I love this place. We come here all the time to kayak, mt. Bike, and hike. We have seen raccoons, deer, woodpeckers and other wildlife here as well. This park has something for everyone. We truly love this park.

Beautiful park. Nice cycling paths, well shaded. Lots of kayaking, but haven't tried that YET. Lots of activities for kids.

We brought our own kayaks and we were anxious to see if a new canoe outpost had been setup yet. The new canoe/kayak launch area is really nice. We didn’t see any rental business setup or information about one which makes me sad. Although we have our own yaks, we would usually invite friends with us that would need rentals. I heard you can contact Jonathan Dickinson SP and they will supposedly bring rentals to you, however I haven’t done that myself. I saw on FB they (PBC Parks n Rec) advertised a while back “accepting proposals” for a company to come and setup rentals so many that’s still in the works... the park itself has been nicely redone and we can’t wait to go back another weekend and ride our bikes.

This is an amazing place to visit and it is 4 miles from our house, we always bring visitors to see this natural wonder. When you walk down the path it seems like you went back in time to a primordial jungle to hear the sounds of nature and smell the mossy fragrance of the swamp. You can drive through on the roads, bicycle, rent a canoe or just hike with a camera and the best part about it is that it's free. They are in the process of clearing some land that some one had tried to mine some rock and was unsuccessful with the project. An invasive tree called Australian Pine grew and was removed to make a canoe launch dock and improve the facilities for fishing and recreation to greatly improve the site. When you visit Jupiter this natural park is a wonder to see. Some times they have demonstrations of old steam engines and have and old time Florida sawmill in operation with the operators dressed in period clothing working the wood. Dick K. from Jupiter Farms Fla.

Visited this park to support the local running chapter of runners of all ages and abilities. Place great for runners, walkers, bikers. There is wildlife so one does need to pay attention

Bike and boat rentals available. Port-a-potties. Hiked and took photos. Calming and relaxing park. Perfect day.

I love being able to right my bike to the park. Miles of wooded trails. Early morning or near dusk, there are deer around and plenty of local birds. Take a kayak out on the river and enjoy the hammock, and probably get up close and personal with a gator. Ok,not THAT close. Very peaceful.

This park has it all: private little corners where you can get away from it all, public areas where they have lots of special activities, like their annual Farmstead Day, when they fire up the old logging saw left from the early CCC days, and steam-engine run machines and tractors, and a petting zoo. Non-motorized boats on the canals, paved bike and walking paths, hiking trails and my personal favorite, equestrian trails! We trailer our horses here regularly, as they have a large equestrian staging area and a dozen miles of trails that loop around throughout the park. A beautiful park, well-run, no fees (except boat rentals), a true gem in the middle of a gem of a community in Palm Beach County.

We are luck enough to bike to Riverbend from our home in Jupiter. There are so many trails to get lost in. Great way to spend some time biking with friends/ family with SoFL scenery

I was on a solo trip through the area and thought I would stop off at the Riverbend Park to do some hiking. Hiked several of the trails and found the paths well maintained and lots of scenery. Very nice picnic areas throughout the park along with a place to rent kayaks to travel through their many waterways. Overall had a enjoyable day.

After reserving five kayaks for a river trip at this location we were super excited about getting a taste of the Florida waterways. Upon arrival we were met by the rudest man possible. He was rude to everyone he dealt with. He was very impatient and did not want to give us any service or information about the trip and told us we would not be capable of doing the river trip. They also wanted us to sign a contract whereby they could charge us $100 if we did not get back in good time. We decided it was a bust and the attendant refused to refund us our deposit. Never have I come across such an angry man who is supposed to be the face of the resort. Although we came from canada, we went with locals and we were very disappointed with our experience. Having said that it is a beautiful location and I'm sure the river trip would have been wonderful.

You can launch your canoe and or kayaks from river bend great wildlife watching a good look at natural Florida

The crushed shell trails are a great scenic start to explore the back canal county around the waterways.

My family loves going to Riverbend Park. We go there to take walks, ride bikes, fish, canoe, or just have a picnic meal. Beautiful park.

Bring your bike or rent one at the park, though they have a limited u beer available. You can also rent kayaks, which I haven't yet done. The park is the site of some historical battles.

Dusk is the best time to see deer, peafowl, turkeys, etc. The trails are well marked and beautifuly maintained.

The family and I love to take our bikes out here to go riding. We usually bring a picnic lunch as well. It is very quiet and a fun place to explore.

This is the best park in the area and it's free. It is a great place for a bike ride or a long walk or run. There are many firm shell rock trails and it is easy to get turned around the first few times you visit without a map. They also have canoe and kayak rentals for going down the Loxahatchee River, which is spectacular. There are also many covered pavilions and most have BBQ grills. I've seen deer many times in the park in the early morning. I've also seen snakes, rabbits, raccoons, turkeys and they have a group of peacocks that hang out near the front of the park. Only negative is that the bathrooms are port-o-lets only.

Great bicycle trails, canoeing and picnicing. Good for family events and parties. Headwaters for the Canoe Outfitters for running the Loxahatchee River. A must outdoor visit while in Northern Palm beach County.

My wife and I travel the world kayaking. This was an easy trip with great equipment. This part of the river was very different the even the ding darling park. It had a lot of wildlife and one of the largest Gaters I have yet to see in the Fla back waters. Enjoy!

We visited riverbend for the first time yesterday and loved it. The youngest bike rider in our family is 7 and we rode 12 miles through the trails and left with multiple places that we still wanted to check out. It was great exercise and a beautiful ride through old Florida. The price was great too! (Free). We'll definitely be back. A lot of the paths are shaded, but it was still hot, so bring lots of water or camelbacks to stay hydrated.

I usually come here a few times a year to rent kayaks with the family. Beautiful park, the rentals are fine, though the rental guy can be pretty crabby... We pack a lunch to enjoy. Always be prepared to pack your own trash out of the park. You can have a moderate adventure or do some serious paddling. You can come ride bikes and use the grills or just take a walk. What a nice park!

It was my first time kayaking this park & it was a good experience. It's a good location & so much to offer. You can rent a kayak for double $45 & $35 for single for a whole day. You can rent a bike too or just trail hiking. We enjoyed our kayak adventure, so serene & beautiful trees. There is a small dam that you can pass through or lift your kayak over the small board walk. It was drought so it was a little hard to maneuver but some pushing, paddling & wiggling we made through the dam. After the dam we went to this straight & we met a couple telling us there was an alligator in the corner maybe 50 away. We chicken out & didn't go all the way. On our way back since it's against the water current plus drought it was a slight struggle as well. In summary it was a good experience. Spring is the best time to go❤️💜🌿🍃🎍🌴🌳🌲☘️🍀

My wife and I rented bikes ($12 for the day) and spent a couple of hours leisurely riding around the trails. We made our way through the lush flora and saw plenty of birds and wildlife (although no gators this time!). It was a nice inexpensive time just relaxing and communing with nature. Good for hikers, joggers, cyclists, kayakers, photographers, familes. couples.

We visited the park for the second time in December 2024 and were completely enthusiastic again. On our trips by kayak and by pedes we got to see not only the obligatory herons and water birds, but also alligators and a lynx (in broad daylight!!). The park is well maintained overall and the disposable mentality of the visitors is somewhat limited. It is advisable to visit during the "winter months", as at this time of year the mosquito topography does not make itself felt in the daylight hours and the temperatures are pleasant.

We were here for a wedding. Great venue with lots of open space and huge oaks that made for a good backdrop. Visited the park a day earlier so we could spend some additional time. Lots of hiking trails and also canoes (you can rent a canoe in the park). Park just added (opened on Dec. 10th) a larger new section to the west that will provide additional hiking an canoeing opportunities.

We a family of four arrived, unsure what to expect, although we were aware that cycles and kayaks were available for rent.
We easily found the cycles, and a rather jolly chap in a large van duly took our money in exchange for four bikes. These are not mountain bikes, but a sit up and beg style with a great seat and a basket! No hand brakes.....need to pedal backwards......just a warning! The bikes are one size fits all and the seats are very easy to adjust.
A rudimentary map was provided and was told to take a picture of the map on a sign nearbŷ! Having no clue where we were going, we set off to investigate the park. We cycled for 2h along trails through the forest, we got lost and went round in circles, but that was all part of the fun.
After a picnic we decided that canoeing was the order of the day, the same jovial chap in the van took our money and gave us a discount as we had hired the bikes! Worth noting. Various options are available, single through to four man, kayak and canoe at a reasonable rate.
We were told to go downstream and was given another basic map, honestly it's not required as it's easy river to navigate. It's a beautiful stretch of water and a must do trip, by aware that the paddling will be much harder coming back against the current.
Buoyancy aids were provided for anyone who desired them.
Enjoy!

I used to love canoeing on the Loxahatchee River. But the vendor retired and park did not get a new vendor yet. I was extremely disappointed. There is no point going there without a canoe rental place. The park management screwed that up.

I kayaked here last week. I saw lots of birds, turtles, and gators. Great workout but not too challenging if you are in decent shape. Absolutely quiet and beautiful surroundings. Seeing the gators was so cool. Best kayak trip I have ever taken in PBC - cant wait to go again!

My wife and I have visited numerous times and have found something different every time. You can take a long walk around the many paths all marked so you hopefully will never get lost and as you approach the water/ponds walk up slowly and you might see one of the many gators - 2 to 3 feet - looking for a meal on the shoreline. There are numerous deer that don't even seem to notice you until you start to walk up on them and even then, they only run off 30 - 40 feet and start grazing again.
There are covered stations throughout the park where you can sit and rest, have lunch or get in out of the rain. But, be sure to bring water if you intent to walk in the warmer weather.

Nice clean park. We had a surprise party in one of the pavilions. We did not reserve on in advance but there were many to chose from.
Next time I look forward to canoeing around the river. It looks so nice and peaceful. Lots of families and it was a nice quiet park.

This park is perfect for the nature lover! You will see deer, gators, bunnies, many species of birds & so much more. There are 15 miles of paths to walk, bike ride, jog or what ever you like to do when you are out doors. Bring your kayak or canoe & enjoy the mangroves in the Loxahatchee River. Clean & Beautiful too! Great chickee huts with tables & grills all around. This place is just incredible & pristine! We love it each time we go!

Beautiful, well maintained old Florida park. Canoe and kayak rentals, peaceful walks. Good parking and a nice little drive-around road so that you can see the fauna and flora without walking if you wish.

Bring your bike or just hike the 700 acres while you visit native deer and turkey roaming the park. Also check out the peacocks, sand hill cranes and rent a canoe for the unforgettable paddle down the untouched Loxahatchee River. You can have a small picnic or a large celebration at the many chickee huts scattered throughout the park.Make sure to bring your camera!

Wow one could easily spend a full day here at this park. My friend and I spent 4 hours kayaking the waterway through the dense canopy of cypress trees, palms and other native vegetation. The twisting waterway trail had a spectacular view of the native plants with each new turn. We saw many turtles, birds and fish along the way and have been told an alligator might be spotted as well. There is a small waterfall which you can go over or you can exit at the dock and drag your kayak to the other side and return to your paddling. The current is very slow but you will notice the difference paddling back to the base station as you are going against the current. The park also offers bike and walking trails which I will definitely be returning to do. Bike, canoe and kayak rentals are available or bring your own.

Mt grandkids can't get enough of one special tree and we love to pack a picnic lunch and sit under the pavilion to enjoy it.. Well located in Jupiter with easy access from the road. NO DOGS, however. I find it has easier access than most parks so that makes it no trouble whatsoever. Ignore the stuff about the rednecks and rude people as it could scare you away from a great place. I have never encountered that. I am a local.

So far I've only been there walking the trails. It seems though as if the park is more laid out for biking and kayaking. Still had a great time, though. It's a big area and you can see a lot of wildlife. They also have an area for picnicing and bbq. And no entry fee!

Great wildlife.................The peacocks and the wild turkeys just running around. Great for photography. Wooded area with boating.

Riverbend Park is experiencing a lot of renovation at this time. Even so, the trails are open and it is a shady quiet place to walk or bike ride.

Great park has a little bit of everything for everyone!
Nice to even just take a walk and unwind. If you like to fish it is pretty good all along the banks of the river. Wild life everywhere from deer to gators and turkeys. Might even see a bald eagle!

Such great trails! We loved the peace and quiet! Would be great for families. Biking is great a s well!

My wife and I and occasionaly friends have visited this park several times, it is always safe, clean, and in excellent condition for hiking, biking or just viewing the wildlife. Plenty of parking.

Nice park to see nature! Walking and bike riding trails. There are deer and peacocks and owls to see just living in their own natural habitat. Wonderful!,

This park is huge, with waterviews, picnic areas, walking trails, bike, kayak and canoe rentals and plenty of wildlife. The signage was good on the walking paths. It was quiet and beautiful with just enough people around to give you a feeling of security. Walked about 2 hours and didn't even put a dent in the available trails. There are equestrian trails available as well.

Walking the trails here was wonderful, but the kayak trip down the Loxahatchee River is wonderful! I checked in with the rental guys the day before and they even let us come early the next day so we'd beat the Memorial Day crowd. The cypress swamp was gorgeous and so peaceful.

This park has wonderful trails for biking and jogging. The river is great for kayaking,I have my own but you can rent canoes there. There are even a few tangerine trees to enjoy.

This park is extremely well maintained and has excellent signage. Trails are wide and in great shape! House trails are seperate from the others. Nice waterways for canoeing or kayaking. Great place for picnicking as there are lots of shared picnic pavilions scattered in the park. One of my favorites!

Wonderful display of Florida nature at its finest. Quiet, peaceful and educational. Canoe the Loxahatchee from this park.

Amazing bike routes, running routes and kayaking. We paddle board from here to JD and it looks like primordial Earth. Highly recommended if you don't mind gators!

Such an amazing place, great to bring friends and family to. Lots and lots of convenient picnic tables and chickee huts and places to kayak. Great kayaking and canoeing spots, loads of good trails whether you're biking, walking, or riding horses. Beautiful animals are everywhere. I can almost guarantee you will see a peacock, deer, or turkey. I go there all the time with my family, friends and sometimes it's just a good day for a nice relaxing ride by yourself. You cannot go wrong with this park.

We toured all over the park and found a huge variety of native plants that were able to be used medicinally as well as consumed as food

This is a hidden park in the middle of Jupiter, FL's suburbia sprawl...in 10 minutes you feel like you're in the middle of the Everglades! Currently going under some amazing renovation, the park is a great place to bike, ride horses, and explore.
We like to kayak, and the kayak trail is really wonderful. When the water is high, you can get all the way to Jonathan Dickenson State Park. There used to be a shuttle for kayakers, but that is no longer operating. The fishing is pretty good, but you're going to see some gators, lots of birds and turtles, a raccoon or two, etc. It is very quiet and peaceful. It isn't a long trail, if you meander and take your time, it is (at best) a couple hours. We get up early and get our paddle in, see the critters and are ready to roll for Saturday errands by 11.
Admission to the park is free. There are kayaks to rent, but we own ours and the put-in is very accessible.

Very nice park, easy walking went there with my Girlfriends elderly parent. Beautiful park with numerous trails, even found some tangerine trees with some nice ripe fruit for a nice snack.

Riverbend is a fantastic, healthy and truly beautiful way to spend a few hours.
During the usually leisurely paddle, you will find yourself under a gorgeous canopy of native flora. On our last trip, we saw many examples of fish, turtles and alligators.
Beware that when the stream is running faster than normal, the return trip up-stream can be challenging.

I "rode" with some friends in a kayak. What amazing wildlife and the water was so clear in the Loxahatchee River. It was very quiet and if you watch closely you can see baby alligator in the waters. We also spotted a larger one. I would recommend this in the early moring.

My husband and I wanted to rent a canoe for the day, but when we got there they were all out - no bummer though because they had plenty of bikes left to rent! We decided that would be fine and less of a worry about tipping over LOL. The guy at Canoe Outfitters (where you get the rentals) was very helpful and nice and even gave us a map of the trails even though the sign said they don't give them out.
We did almost all the trails and saw a pack of deer, a ton of birds and even a few snakes. Most of the trails were covered with trees so it was easy to find shade. I would def go again in the future, but make a reservation for the canoe ahead of time so maybe we'll be able to see an alligator on the river!

Riverbend offers everything in Florida except the beach. I love this park for anything from hiking and biking to picnicking and fishing. One of the most beautiful parks in S. Florida. Trails, tiki huts and lush flora and wildlife.

A great place to have a family photo session!! They also offer canoe rentals, walking & hiking trails. So much to see and do with pretty Florida landscaping.

I went one cool day and took such a peaceful walk. It was serene and gorgeous. I can't wait to return. I took great pictures that I'm thinking of framing.
I totally recommend a visit

There are over 35 miles of walking and bicycling trails in this park. There are no domestic pets allowed as there is wildlife all around, in their natural habitat. There are no vehicles allowed in the park.

Went to the park on Valentines Day last year and rented the Canoes ! This park has one of the best canoe trails around for deep exploring ! Went with another couple and stopped for a nice picnic lunch, that we brought , and canoeing was easy !

You can rent canoes, or take out your own. You can bike down the trails and ride your horses. You can camp and do any sort of outdoor fun. The paths are well maintained and clean.

This is amazing park for the weekend with the family you see all types of animals get to be there all day and relax love it

There are really 2 parts to Riverbend Park- the park itself and the Loxahatchee River.
Riverbend Park is located on the north edge of Palm Beach county and was the site of a major battle in the second Seminole war. There are large grassy areas for picnicking and 5 miles of biking/hiking trails through forest and cypress-filled lakes. The trails are mostly hard-packed gravel, some are paved. During the wet season the lakes are connected by little creeks so you can explore by kayak or canoe. If you come early you might see deer, bobcat, turkeys, otters, alligators, raccoons and other wildlife. On Saturday mornings volunteers give a tour of the battleground area. There is a concession that rents bikes for about $10 for the day, along with canoes and kayaks.
The main reason people come here is to paddle the Loxahatchee River. This natural river meanders through a cypress canopy for 4 miles to Trapper Nelson's homestead, then another 4 miles to Jonathan Dickinson State Park and then to the ocean. The upper part of the river has some of the most amazing scenery in the whole state. The current is light, so most people paddle back upstream to the launch point. It helps to have some paddling skill to navigate the narrow, winding waterway, but that's my opinion. The river has a few alligators and otters, lots of turtles and plenty of fish. It's also very sheltered from the wind, so you can canoe or kayak easily even with 25 mph winds blowing in the treetops. There are 2 dams you have to portage over, the first of which requires some flexibility to get in and out of the boat. It takes about 2 hours to paddle to the 2nd dam and back and 5 hours to go to Trapper Nelson's cabin. Trapper Nelson lived on the river from about 1935-66, living off the land/water. His homestead is now an interactive site. There is a real restroom there too (added later). I have my own kayak and go here at least 4-5 times a year even though it's over an hour's drive away.

All the activities around the Loxahatchee River make Jupiter a perfect place to explore. Riverbend is one of those special places. Spend and hour or a week, I think you would find plenty to do. We like hikes and walks its wildlife. This is perfect. You can also kayak, canoe, ride horses, run or walk on one of their many mileS of trails. All along the way there is a ton of wildlife to see. We were there in a cold part of December and still saw lots and enjoyed our stay. I will be back.

The paddle down the river was super cool and relaxing. Would do it every weekend if I lived down the street. We drove from Fort Lauderdale and it was well worth the trip. Felt like i was in another part of the state.

I've been coming to this park for years. There are some really nice trails and picnic spots. But the best part is by far the river where you can rent kayaks or canoes. If you want to do the long trip (all the way to Jonathan Dickinson park) make sure to call ahead and make reservations at least 1-2 weeks in advance. They do fill up fast. It's also best to go when the water is higher so that you don't hit dry spots. You can rent kayaks for half say and do parts of the river and then head back to the start. Make sure to bring waters and snacks if you plan on being on the water a few hours.

Nature and History all in one place! Miles of bike, walking, and canoe trails to behold the silence of the woods and marshes.Solitude to contemplate part of the Seminole Wars .We visit at least once per month.

The park is easily accessible with good signage at the entrance on Indiantown Rd. There is plenty of parking. You can rent kayaks (single or double), canoes and bicycles right in the park from Canoe Outfitters. The rental office trailer is adjacent to the parking area which is on the left a short drive after entering the park. This is a popular park so I would suggest getting there fairly early to be sure to get a kayak, canoe and/or bicycle. Rental of kayaks/canoes is one price (I think our double kayak was $35) for all day long - until 5 pm when they close. The water level was pretty high so the entire waterway was navigable and provided many opportunities to see different water fowl. Paddling the kayak was quite easy since the water level was comfortably high. We paddled the entire lower section which is a big loop consisting of a series of small/medium size lakes connected by "Hunters Run", a water "trail" that allows you to navigate from one lake to the next. Further along the connecting waterway becomes the Eastern Slough which eventually brings you back to the spot where you embarked on your paddle. The course took us about 3 hours although we were advised to allow 4 hours. We also did a portion of the upper section of the park, which is a cypress canopy and very different than the lower section. You paddle with the current as you head into the upper section of the park waterway so when you turn around to head back to the starting point you are paddling against the current and it is much more challenging, the current as well as navigating turns and obstacles. A map is provided to assist with navigation. You are provided with life preservers but wearing them is not required. You should wear water shoes, bring water and expect to get a little wet. We had absolutely no biting insects of any kind perhaps due to the time of year (early March). It was a perfect day - not too hot, a pleasant breeze. The park also has great accessibility by car and has a number of trails suitable for walking, running and biking. There are also many well appointed picnic areas within the park. This park is a great place for all ages!

the river is beautiful and there are kayaks and canoes for rent.. there are a couple small waterfalls-- the first is easily navigated going downstream (we didn't get to the second). But upstream the dock ramp where you portage your kayak/canoe is too steep -- getting out and getting back in -- and we capsized trying to get back down into the river. Also at the rental place they seriously underestimated how long it takes you to get back. But worth the trip if you know your way around a river.

While on vacation we stopped here and launched our paddle boards onto the river. We enjoyed the search for birds and turtles camouflaged on the banks of the river.

Been there several times, it's a nice kayaking adventure. It's a smooth ride, with a great view. From the 5 times I've been there I've seen gators 4 times, turtle several. It's pretty fun, I've you like outdoors visit this place.

I have gone for a great bike ride in Riverside with friends, lots of birds and wildlife along the way depending on the time you go. It's just a beautiful Florida spot to enjoy. Highly recommend it.

What a place to ride a bike!! All kinds of trails, history, wildlife. Old Florida before all the condos. If you want to hike fine but watch out for the bicycles.

We read such wonderful reviews of this park that we had to see it for ourselves. During the time we were in Jupiter, we completed the trifecta: we rented a canoe, hiked the trails and rented bikes. My favorite? Hard to say as we saw something different every time. The canoe ride on the Loxahatchee River was peaceful and so enjoyable. We have more experience with canoes than kayaks so we decided to rent a canoe. The map was easy to read, but the signposts along the route were very much appreciated. We saw lots of water birds and turtles, but missed the deer a kayaker coming the other way told us were there and never saw the otters. The next time we came was a Tuesday and we found out that you can't rent bikes or canoes Monday or Tuesday, so we got a map from the ranger and hiked. This time we saw squirrels, woodpeckers and came across a turtle in the middle of the path. Again, we were told by a jogger that there were deer ahead, but again, they eluded us. A biker suggested we walk on the River Road and it was so nice walking along the river where we had canoed. The third time, we rented bikes and headed a little further than we had walked and visited the Seminole village and the Farmstead. We saw an alligator and were told that there were five deer drinking from the river so we rode as quietly as possible but, again, we missed them. A little while later, we saw a deer standing in the path ahead of us. We stopped and watched as he leaped across the path followed by four more of the beautiful creatures. We never did see the otters, though. I guess we'll just have to come back again the next time we're in Jupiter. There is no fee to get into the park and the rentals are quite reasonable.

The park runs from Indiantown Rd. south to the Loxahatchee Slough. It is laced with a network of bike /walking trails, and offers canoe rentals.

Lots of trails, a bit of the Loxahatchee River, canoe rental, alligators, peacocks and turkeys, just to name of few of the things you'll see at Riverbend (which is also called Battlefield Park). The battlefield is from the Seminole War(1830).
Bikes can be rented, and there are miles of easily biking trails. Not really mountain biking if that's your thing. Its too flat and easy to offer a challenge.

This is a great park to bike ride. We saw deer, turkey and lots of birds. Wood ducks and gators. Really fun ride with the whole family.

This a beautiful park with awesome trails and surprises around every corner. There are also peacocks that live in the park. I've seen peacocks on a regular basis.
There are also beautiful banyan trees to explore and examine.
Even through there are rivers and bogs, it somehow managed to not smell swampy, which is nice. Also, some of those rivers and bogs have lilypads on the surface, which is lovely.

Beautiful park with a little bit of everything to do. Walk or bike the trails. We went in July, so ran into mosquitoes! Great place for pictures.

This is a terrific park. You can rent kayaks, canoes, and bikes. Wonderful scenic park that you can drive thru too. There are picnic areas and walking paths as well as open grassy areas. They have a historical presentation from time to time about the history of that area. It's an old battlefield. This park is also connected to Jonathon Dickinson State Park via canoe or kayak.

A beautiful place to spend a quiet morning hiking, biking, kayaking, or just wandering around. Bring a camera & prepare to unwind

We rented bikes near the entrance for just $10, and the bike trails were gorgeous--about 15 miles of them, just fine for the single-speed cruisers we rented. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

We loved the trails and bikes for several hours.
The weather was great and the trails in excellent condition.

My husband and I went with our two young children and my parents. We rented two canoes and floated down the river. Almost immediately, we saw a six or seven foot alligator. It was frightening at first, but they just hangout there. We saw so many owls and birds even a momma gator and her babes. The trip was absolutely amazing. We went halfway down then turned around. The trip back was a lot of work. Next time we will canoe all the way to the next park. ;)

This was my second kayak trip with the girls, and boy, I was not disappointed. The first half of the 8-mile trip started at Riverbend and meandered through a beautiful canopy of oaks, pond cypress, and flowers and fauna. It was like traveling through the "land that time forgot." I almost expected monkeys to leap from the trees! The highlight of this section was seeing not one, not two, but FOUR pileated woodpeckers! It was such a joy to sit and watch them in their natural habitat. We also saw a number of gators along the way. My only scare was the spider that jumped in my kayak. LOL I have to say I enjoyed the challenge of portaging. I think we did this four or five times. After lunching at Trapper Nelson's, we headed out to tackle the second half of the trip. The waterway widens and is open to the elements, so depending on the wind, it could be more of a challenge. But we were up for it. Make sure you wear sunscreen and hydrate. Six hours later, we made our exit at Jonathan Dickinson SP. I would highly recommend this trip to nature lovers.

We ride our bikes here several times a week, you can also Kayak or rent a canoe you can bring your own if you have one , Also biking, walking

Excellent bike trail ride for a newbie biker. Lots of different trail rides with loops. Clean bathrooms. Not secluded. Plenty of people here and there but still very quiet. Enjoy!

We went bike riding right after some pretty heavy rains (like every fall day in Florida). While you had to dodge a few puddles, they just made the ride more interesting, The trails are hard-packed sand, you can use a normal road bike if that's all you have. There are many side trails that spin off the main Reese and Riverbend trails, with bridges, creeks, ponds, old groves, meadows, old farm stead, some farmhouse ruins, Loxahatchee Battlefield site (Seminole Battle). We saw some white tailed deer, a marsh rabbit, plenty of marsh and birds-of-prey (sorry - not too knowledgeable here). Just a great ride, interesting landscape, and plenty of shade.
I'm from the Northeast, and I've found the parks here to be either too small, or too much scrub for my liking. This park has gorgeous trees, a lot of meadow areas, and of course the quintessential swamps. Don't forget your repellent!
For those with horses, beautiful grassy trails that cross the streams. For those with canoes/kayaks - plenty of places to explore that have signage to indicate your location with a wide launch. Many places for picnics, or stretch out a hammock for an afternoon snooze. There is no charge to use the park, there are kayak rentals available. There is a concession stand that was closed when we went. Plenty of parking.

Riverbend is such a beautiful park. Lots of wild life to be seen. Great trails for biking, hiking, or just a leisurely walk. Great for kayaking or canoeing, too. Oh...and it's free!

This park is great for hiking, biking, canoeing, wildlife viewing, picnicking and just enjoying nature. I live close and don't spend enough time here. Herds of deer and flocks of turkey make evenings special. A plus is the section of Florida Trail that runs north out of the park to the river.

My wife's uncle and his wife treated us to a tandem kayak trip. We went down the river first and saw heron's and huge turtles, but no alligators. The tree canopy kept us shaded and comfortable. Very relaxing and enjoyable.

Great hidden jewel in Jupiter - Bike trails for everyone, good concessions for rentals, plenty to see and do . Pack a lunch

This has become a regular trip for my kids and myself when visiting Jupiter. Always fun - great scenery, feels remote, few other people so usually quiet, and we have yet to miss seeing an alligator or two along the way! I recommend calling ahead for a canoe if it's a busy time. Cost is reasonable and the operation is right at the entrance to the park. Typical trip's about 4 hours though it's up to you. Enjoy!

I have walked here several time and went canoeing with my husband and his parents in December. The canoe trip was really nice and under the trees. We saw a limpkin and lots of wood storks. The canoes were a little pricey at $35 for 1.5 hr. It is also really nice to walk around and see all the water birds. The walking is free. Really recommend for a short or long outing. Warning the port-a-potties are nasty.

Nature trails, canoe trip, the park has so much to offer. The biking trails are awesome This has become a favorite place for us.The park offers so much to do and has no charge to go in.

You can easily bike ride the miles of bike/walking trails on hard pack - so you don't need a fancy mountain bike to ride. You can also walk on these same trails as they are wide and some are shaded. You can kayak in the park when the water is higher, and it is the put-in point to kayak the Loxahatchee River, one of Florida's wild and scenic rivers. And it is all free, free, free!

My wife introduced me to this park about 6 months ago as a way to get me involved in some excercise and biking. The dirt trails are well maintained and a good portion of them are under the cover of trees ---- so even in the middle of summer you can enjoy a decent bike ride without having the sun pound down on you.! I am really looking forward to riding in the cooler winter months.
The atmosphere is very quiet--- you will see all kinds of wildlife --- I never realized how large the deer are in the area --until we ran up to 4 of them crossing our path recently.
The trails will take you along small streams, over wooden bridges , huge tunnel-like trails thru tree canopys and wide open fields. The terrain and views are forever changing. We go as often as twice a week and have never found the park or trails to be overcrowded--- a matter of fact during the latest Labor Day weekend we probably didn't run into any more than 2 dozen other bikers or hikers on the trails during our 1 hour cruise. Another great thing about this park is its proximity to little coffee shops and eateries just outside of the park entrance.
There are many covered huts with huge guide/trail maps and toilet facilities along the trails. They also offer kayak rentals within the park waterways---which I would like to try ,once the weather gets cooler. For those without bikes -- I believe there is a bike rental concession onsite
.All and all I don't think you will find a nicer park in PalmBeach or Martin county to spend a few hours just relaxing and enjoying nature and getting a little excercise to boot !!!

A tricky enterance (with construction in the area) but easy to get to and worth the stop. Relaxing walking trails with plenty of wild life and foilage to see. We observed different water birds, racoons, deer and an alligator and could have seen more if we weren't pressed for closing time. We saw horseback riders and kayakers as well as bicyclists and runners in the trails and waterways of the park

This is a GREAT park to hike or bike ride just out side of Jupiter. Lots of wildlife and long trails. Kayaking as well !
They rent most equipment.

This was our launch point for an eight mile paddle down the Loxahatchee River to Jonathan Dickinson State Park (actually, we took out at the Boy Scout camp next door, but that is another story). The park itself was meticulously clean, and very well managed. The Ranger most helpful, but the so-called canoe/kayak outfitter on-site a HUGE disappointment. We brought our own boats -- lengthy (17 foot plus) sea kayaks for a river challenge. We were not disappointed. Scenery beyond belief paddling past countless turtles, gators, and birds under canopied slack water. The River must be respected. We had to exit our boats half a dozen times to get around downed cypress trees and other obstructions. We encountered two dams that were easily portaged via existing wooden ramps and steps. Timing is crucial here as the Loxahatchee is a mere brackish backwater creek until you get to Trapper Nelson's (a total waste of time) where it become a wide and swift tidal salt water flow. We plan to return this fall with our 20+ member kayaking adventure group.

Went kayaking here on a double date & it was BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL!!! Just make sure to eat your Wheaties to get back upstream. lol
Highly recommended.

I visit this park often. Great hiking/ bike riding trails through interesting scenery. We sometimes see deer, peacocks, raccoons, and owls. We observe water birds and fish as we pass the many water areas.

I love this park for walking and biking. I haven't done canoe or kayak here yet but walking and biking is great. For your first visit stay in the main trail so you don't get confused where you are. I have never been lost but some people I've been with found it confusing. As this park becomes more popular there are more problems, it used to be so peaceful, but now more and more loud obnoxious people are visiting. Please respect this special place and respect people who want a bit of quiet nature. If you want excitement go to chucky cheese or Okeheelee park. The best passive park in Palm beach county. A bicyclist dream, and easy walking for even those who are some what physically challenged. I have seen deer, turkeys, snakes, gators, many species of birds! Enjoy,

A sprawling park that is part of the Palm Beach County, Florida park network, with bike paths, hiking, canoeing, fishing, and picnic areas and adjacent Civil War site - the Loxahatchee River Battlefield Park , offers something for everyone.

Thumps up if you are looking for an easy beautifully bike ride/walk/run
Most of the trails r in the shade and the trails r flat and easy for kids.
They do even have canoe rentals
Might be next on the list

Trails, trails and more Trails! Exercise for all levels here. Walk down trails that pass by water and land that looks like 100 of years ago in Florida. A great way to spend the day with all ages.

We visited this park based on the reviews from this site. We were not disappointed! We rented bikes for a reasonable $10 each and rode for hours. Mike, the guy at the counter, was very helpful and showed us some of the best trails. We saw lots of birds, a turtle, and the natural setting was stunning.

I love coming here during the winter months especially. There’s plenty of area to walk, bike, kayak, and enjoy the area. My favorite thing is to come early inter morning or late in the evening, when there are not Many people and you will almost always see wild life!

Biking or walking I always see either a turkey, peacock, armadillo or a herd of deer. The deer spend their time on Pond Trail and Reese Trail. Best time to see them from 5 feet away is at 7:30/8:00 a.m and at 6:30/7:00 p.m. There are lots if shaded trails for your cooler exploring.

A friend from Colorado recently asked for a suggestion for an afternoon hike that would be a snapshot of what South Florida hiking is all about. As a regular visitor to Riverbend(several times a month) I didn't hesitate to enthusiastically recommend this nearby jewel! Like the facets of a fine diamond, this park shines in any light. Canoe/kayak rentals, bicycles, fishing and lots of hiking trails (nearly 18 miles of 'em) and an aboundance of picknic facilities throughout make this spot worth the trip from anywhere. There are many "sloughs" , small lakes and ponds plus the scenic Loxahatchee River give paddlers lots of choices. Parking and restrooms make spending more than a few hours there a breeze. Open from sunrise to sunset, those are the best time to view of Whitetale deer, wild turky, peacock and all the racoon and squirrels you want. Rabbits and bobcats can be seen there as well. This park is a can't miss option for just about anyone wanting a slice of Florida wilderness conveintly located in Jupiter, FL.

There are so many ways to experience Riverbend Park and adjoining historic Seminole wars battleground. We have walked during every season, usually doing a loop of 4-6 miles in a variety of terrains, hiking not only walking/bike paths but the equestrian trails as well. Wildlife is there - from birds, to deer, to alligators, to peacocks (haven't seen them lately). Depends on time of day. For those who can't walk far (like my very elderly mother) - you can drive to PIcnic Island and with a very short walk, view the water and wildlife seated at a small picnic 'tiki'.
Canoe rentals and bike rentals offer other ways to explore the area. Riverbend is never crowded, path intersections are extremely well marked so one can't get lost.
Check it out - it will become your favorite park in the area!

We live just a few miles from here and love it! There are creeks and rivers for kayaking; biking, hiking and equestrian trails; lots of picnic spots, deer, wild turkey, .............

Clean, shaded and great place to walk or ride your bike. You can ride a horse. Kayak rentals onsite too

This park is a hidden jewel in Jupiter on West Indiantown Road. We take our hybrid bikes and ride all day. Some Sundays we see only a few people. You can hike and picnic also. We have seen deer that do not run from you, all different kinds of beautiful birds and bobcats. There are resident peacocks to greet you in the parking area. We love to get 'lost' here. There are plenty of signs on the trails, and you can ride outside the park for miles. We tried the land to sea trail and it was awesome, until we came to a lagoon area and could not cross, except by foot and we were not prepared. You really need more of an off road bike for the trails outside the park. There is an area with a working lumber mill and being there will take you back to a different time. It is a beautiful, peaceful place and a great way to just get away from riding A1A beach road in Jupiter with all the cars and exhaust. Very quiet and serene. You will definitely feel a part of nature.

We were so impressed with the different trails within the park. We took our bikes and it was like a maze. We even saw an alligator on the river. Nice place to spend some relaxing time and walk or bike

The Riverbend Park is an ever expanding walkway along the inland waterway. It ambules along the waterfront in Jupiter. It starts near the Juno/Jupiter town line and moves from Aia to a mostly wood deck/concrete pathway which runs behind the businesses and buildings that front the road. It meanders along the waterway where you can enjoy the sites of nature(osprey, eagles, storks, herrins, egrits, etc. As you get closer to Indiantown Rd. the personality changes to a more commercial tone. There are shops, restaurants,& benches, you'll come to a marina and an esplanade behind the yacht club with alfreca dining for the Dive Shop and other restaurants. The walkway continues going back and forth between natural and commercial for some distance. The town, county, and state ultimately plan to run it to Dubois Park. It will have access to the bike, hiking, horse back canoeing trail that will ultimately run from Tampa to West Palm Beach via Lake O. It makes for a very pleasant walk.

This is a great place for a picnic or to see a little bit of natural Florida. I ride my bike there all the time.

Wow. Endless trails for walking, running and biking. Picnic area, history. What more could you ask for. We came here for a 5 mile walk and enjoyed every minute. Beautiful trails right in Jupiter - but no cars and noise. Just pure nature. Parking is plentiful. Clean bathrooms and no fees.
Great family day
Great experience and amazing views for biking and kayaking. We saw a manatee and some wildlife. Good times
