A very nice boardwalk along the water. It goes quite a distance-so a short, long or some length in between walk is doable. Winds past several restaurants.

By Pinnocchio |

The boardwalk is scenic and on Sundays the band plays at the amphtheater. Just a great way to live like a tourist and people watch. The heart of downtown Stuart is in walking distance and the shops are always fun to browse around in. We always get, dome drinks and then ice cream at the local places in town. There are places to eat casually, so enjoy the afternoon. Little kids may get bored here, but boomers, X &Y gems lovev it!

By wgclifford |

The riverwalk takes you along the St. Lucie River in the heart of downtown Stuart. You can view the activity on the water and for events the "stepped" stage seats you looking across the river. Performers here vary from childrens work to live music with dancing. A step across the street will find you at the Lyric Theater wher live performances on stage are varied, but always first class.

Riverwalk is a frequent stop after an evening out in downtown Stuart. Very calm and romantic place to go for a walk. Good snook fishing in season under the bridge as well.

By Linda O |

We have been to Riverwalk many times. Never have we had a bad meal. The fish is always so fresh and prepared in delicious, creative ways. Servers are always very attentive and helpful. Cute little restaurant with great ambiance. One of our favorites!

By rbkrb |

One of our favorite eateries in Stuart, Small, intimate. Prefer the table in the window to the left of the entrance as you come in. Food is always special, but can be pricey. No liquor, but plenty of good wine and beer. Wait staff are efficient and very capable. Menu items at lunch and dinner vary, but are always quite tasty. You can't go wrong. Added benefit, close to the St Lucie River-stroll the boardwalk after your meal.

By Debra Forrer |

My husband and I were visiting the area and spent time in Stuart at the Riverwalk. We really enjoyed the sites and shopping!

By Deni C |

Excellent food, great location, very friendly people. This place is really adorable! We keep coming back!

By Jose P |

Fantastic boardwalk with a beautiful view of the St Lucie River. Right there in downtown Stuart. Excellent free concerts every Saturday afternoon. Have dinner in one of the great restaurants in downtown and then take a stroll on the boardwalk. Fantastic for friends and family.

By Ed M |

The riverwalk is just bueatiful. It is build along the river, like a boardwalk and you can stroll quite a distance along the river. A place to see if in the town

By BonnieT2748 |

The Riverwalk in Stuart has something for everyone. Weekdays you have shops, restaurants, and bars, but on the weekend it really comes alive. Saturday may feature a craft show, a seafood fest, a Bahama festival or any number of events. Sunday there is a green market in the morning and entertainment on the bandshell overlooking St Lucie River. Walk from Roosevelt Bridge the entire way to the bandshell and beyond. Stop for a drink along the way or just bring your chairs and enjoy. Each restaurant has its own special personality. One even has a full moon party every moon. We love our hometown, and everyone who visits agrees. Come on out and see for yourself!!

By Patick C |

This was a neat waterfront area to take a walk on. There are some big lizards around that are pretty cool. There are restaurants and shops close by.

By Ray M |

great place to walk around a couple of restaurants on the walk and green market on Sundays and free concert

By Pam S |

Enjoyable stroll and great lunch at Waterfront with nice view. Short staffed at start of day so meal took awhile to arrive. Wine and comfy seating made it not matter!

By Joseph H |

My wife and I being Stuart residents for 23 years find that walking along the river (riverwalk) takes the stress out and most relaxing day. Available along the walk are seating benches for a rest overlooking the river Meeting others, either residents or tourists make my day. If you desire a drink or a snack or lunch available are the best of restaurants along the walk.

By Alan P |

Stuart, FL is a hidden enclave that is full of great surprises! The Riverwalk, food, nightlife to the family-friendly atmosphere you can't go wrong! Oh and I forgot to mention the shopping! The mom and pop shops that are amazing. Treats? Did some say Ice cream? I'll stop here...

By JAMES M |

just to be outdoors near the water is so wonderful. you really get a good florida feeling. nice scenery!

By yolanda fernandez |

Nice area with restaurants , museum, coffee shop and other shoppings. They have a green market every Sunday and live music.

By Emily B |

Very nice place to walk around and very clean. You can walk down to the boat dock, walk the river, shops downtown.

By 57ConnieC |

This walk along the St Lucie River is a wonderful place to walk or stroll while visiting StuRt, Florida.

By AliciaWaters |

What a wonderful place to take a morning walk or spend the afternoon!
Art, fountains, lighted walkways, beach, splash pad and pier!

Be sure to not miss the views from up at the house...you will be glad you did!

By Pcarolct |

The perfect relaxing after dinner stroll ! Gives out of town visitors and idea of the small town friendly atmosphere we enjoy here is Stuart

By Bill H |

Great food, great wine selection, excellent soups!! Love parking the car downtown Stuart and walking around town. Service is always good and the food has never disappointed!

By RS101 |

Riverwalk is never a disappointment. The fresh fish is perfectly prepared but crab cakes and my dining partners reported the Oysters Romanoff to be outstanding. Traditional steaks and salmon are also wonderful. If you see it you will like it...plus you get American airline miles!!

By jmastersdds |

Some of it was closed for construction. Very short walk. Walking around the town was nice but overall I would skip this as a thing to do.

By JamesD007Travels |

The Riverwalk boardwalk is a great place for an afternoon stroll on a sunny day. The water is coffee color and does not look to be as clean as it once was with a thriving oyster colony. While federal money has been collected and used to help the waterway recover, this body of water is a reminder of how we as a nation don't do enough to maintain the health and beauty of our natural resources.

By John N |

Riverwalk has a very French like romantic atmosphere. The service is first-class and the food is even better. Great stop before or after the Lyric Theatre

By Sfladiner |

Beautiful spot for a stroll along the St. Lucie river. If you're going to downtown, park at Flagler Park on the river (tons more spaces here) and enjoy the stroll on the Riverwalk up to the restaurants and shops. You can always take the tram back to your car. Do hold on to your little one's hands, there is no railing. (Although the water is only a few feet deep)

By Michael W |

Each time we are down in this area we enjoy the Riverwalk. Twice a year we return and do it again. The views are just wonderful.

By theveryend |

Great location in downtown Stuart, Food is excellent tho somewhat pricey. It is a one minute walk to the river to walk off a good meal on the Boardwalk. Somewhat small interior and noisy.

By Lori R |

Great place to hang out and stroll through the great stores and restaurants! Fresh market on Sunday's along with live music in the afternoon!

By Truckie351 |

Was here waiting to photograph a Florida East Coast Railway train. The boardwalk is an excellent place for an early morning stroll as well as an excellent spot to photograph the train. The boardwalk actually goes under the railroad tracks.

By Kerry C |

Riverwalk has been a favorite of ours for many years! We often recommend it when asked for a special spot downtown. The tuna nachos are amazing!!

By Jody R |

Some of the best oysters I have ever had and thats coming from someone who moved here from Louisina.

By Bill H |

Food is always consistent and delicious and service is great. I recommend it to friends and people from out of town all the time and everyone one always says Excellent!!

By Cap't Lou N |

The very best oysters that you can get in the area and always very fresh and served by a friendly staff.!!

By piratical |

Fantastic place... music abounds in different areas... Sometimes a guitarist will be out playing... or a violinist. You will love the walk and enjoy the lights!

By Golferboy18 |

We recently went for an after dinner stroll along the Riverwalk - on a warm December evening. It's so beautiful at night - especially to see the Roosevelt Bridge lit up. However, it's equally pleasant during the day - to go for a nice long walk along the Riverwalk, taking in all the sights.

By csmith191 |

The city did a nice job with the design and installation of this walkway. A great view after having lunch or dinner.

By Mike S |

A noce stroll down the trail along the river is a good way to for low cost fun and enjoyment. Kids will be less entertained, be cautious of other foot traffic and have some fun.

By Patricia D |

This a great place to visit. There is a boardwalk that runs along the river. The little town has plenty of unique shops and eateries.

By cruzplanner |

Very interesting restaurants, appears to have nice evening live entertainment and very unique shops. A very nice afternoon and pets are welcomed.

By DebbyLinen |

The town of Stuart is unique and busy. We did The River Walk at night and it was well lite and beautiful, you see the boats and the night life as you walk. Would recommend.

By Floridafishermen |

Great pace to stretch your legs, Restaurants , Shops and some great Scenery
Plenty of Shade and seating if you just want t relax and watch for awhile

By Judy A |

I loved everything about this place. Food was great, best summer salad I’ve ever had, desserts were out of this world, and we should know because we ordered one of everything. The staff couldn’t have been warmer or more professional and accommodating (especially since we were a party of 10). Tuna was fresh and delicious, in fact all fish were incredible. I’d definitely go again if I’m in the area

By partsgirl123 |

Downtown Stuart is still quaint, with greeat restaurants, a sunday organic farmers market, free sunday concerts , and a free trolly service that will pick you up and drop you off at multiple locations around town, We were lucky enough to get Bob as our driver and he was nice enough to give us a 1 hour tour of his home town. Also if you are ther at holiday season take in their Santa Clause parade and lighted boat parade. This town has something for everyone

By James B |

Walking the Riverwalk and adjoining park areas was the highlight of our visit to Stuart. We spent a couple of hours there after we checked into the Old Colorado Inn before going to dinner. The view of the St Lucia River is beautiful - especially in the late afternoon.

By Chas |

If you're out for exercise this is a nice walk, but if your out to enjoy a scenic stroll this isn't actually that.

By Jim Glover |

A nice 20 min. walk from end to end, past great views and several bars / restaurants. Great photo opps!

By garyb36350 |

I walked this with my wife, in the evening. Out the hustle and bustle - overlooks the water and the bridge and a good place just to be together and reflect.

By lakesancutuary |

charming restaurant in Stuart with outstanding food and a great wine list. Varied menu for lunch and dinner.

By Jfk08865 |

The river walk is a very enjoyable walking path along the river. It stretched into the river, as well as under the bridge crossing the river. Under the bridge seems to be a good fishing location, we saw several people doing so. There is also a fish cleaning station there. It was very clean.

By Linda S |

Great asset to the area to walk to so many places to eat. Sunset views were fantastic and could watch the sailboats that tied up for the evening

By edshere |

The river walk is basically a board walk along the river in struart florida. it is boarded by the river and on the other side several dining places. It is very close to the shopping in stuart AND SOME GREAT SHOPS. alSO HAS A BAND STAND WITH FREE CONCERTS ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON. Well worth the trip

By ttle1224 |

Definitely recommend if you are in the area and want a low-key relaxing window shopping type of afternoon. Plenty of parking available (street parking: 3 hrs free parking daily). Pedestrian friendly. There is a 'healthy trail' that travels around the downtown area and loops around the waterfront that is well kept and great for a relaxing, leisurely walk.

Also, lots of small boutiques and dessert shoppes to browse and get a quick snack while you are browsing. The sailfish statue in the picture is slightly inconvenient to get to with lots of cars trying to get into the traffic circle, but very pretty, especially at night when the lights and fountains are on.

By tsaftaridesinc |

The grandchildren really enjoyed this place. The Feed store full of memories and history that was the highlight for the kids. The grown-up enjoyed the stores and the varieties of the restaurants.

By Rick P |

This is a wonderful place to spend the day. Great views great food and great shopping. It's a beautiful picturesque place and a must see while in Stuart.

By DrummerWife |

Walk along the river, bars, restaurants, shops. Live Music. Sunday Market. Parking and driving around "Confusion Circle" difficult. No railing along the walkway seemed unsafe to me.

By 654mountaingirl |

One of my favorite places in Stuart! So fun! Great restaurants and bars and just an all over great place to go!

By celfitz |

Lovely walk. Lovely downtown. Check out under the bridge, which is beautifully shaded! The locals are lucky to have this pretty boardwalk.

By grandmasuz |

I'm a local and always love the innovative dishes served here. Fresh fish is one of my favorites as well as the tuna nachos.

By Nancy v |

The riverwalk in Stuart is a great way to enjoy the city from the waterfront. It's a nice stroll along the river with a few spots to stop and relax. You can also grab drink at the BoatHouse and sit and watch the boats cruise by.

By jeff381 |

Great area to walk, shop, eat or drink. Plenty of unique shops and art. Waterfront views for relaxing, and a quaint downtown area.

By Nancy T |

It's wonderful to have this Riverwalk in downtown Stuart, FL Many bands perform there and people can sit on bleachers or a table and enjoy the 4th of July Fireworks as well. Good for walking after a meal or attending the Lyric Theatre -Great addition to all Stuart has to offer.

By Christy S |

This is a nice walk to look at the St. Lucie River and it's convenient to a lot of different restaurants. Gives you a feel for old Stuart. We like to go at night after we had an early dinner.

By PattyP9193 |

This is my favorite dining spot in Stuart. It is a small and quaint spot with an excellent offering of wine (many by the glass) and outstanding service. Every entrée is fresh and exciting and there is always a nice variety of fresh oysters. Best app on the menu is the fresh ahi tuna "nacho" (get the fourth).

By CityRobin |

My husband and I crammed this into our trip. Very scenic and relaxing. We did not realize how long the Riverwalk was...only made it as far as the bridge. Great way to ease your way into a workout...easy walking.

By TravellingEnjoy |

We've walked it in the evening and in the afternoon. Always peaceful, nice views, relaxing. Be sure to walk the whole length. You'll walk by restaurants, a park, marina, under a bridge. Water views are expansive and restful. Sometimes we have encountered a concert and open markets. Not always a railing, and the walk is along the water, not a land-based boardwalk. We like to walk it in the evenings after visiting a Stuart restaurant. Enjoy.

By Harris G |

Went there with another couple. Food is excellent. Service was a bit slow, they were busy. Parking can be an issue on weekends.

By Axelrod608 |

Rarely a week goes by without us walking the dogs on the Boardwalk. It connects to the marina downtown where you can dock your boat to shop, or enjoy all of downtown Stuarts shops, restaurants, the Lyric theatre, etc.

Farmers market every Sunday in the City Hall parking lot just up the bank from the river and boardwalk. Free concerts weekends on the riverfront stage on the boardwalk.

Have a drink at Mulligans riverfront bar or the Pelican, or continue on under the railroad bridge to Sailors Return.

If you’re in Stuart, it’s a must.

By traveltina |

Lovely place for a stroll along the water with options to stop into a few restaurants for a snack or beverage. Love the Sunday market & live music event!!

By GoingFarFarAway |

Nice boardwalk along the river. Amazing there are no rails on the boardwalk as seems too easy for someone to fall into the river.

By Linda R |

The shops - all local and with mostly local items - were inviting and pleasant. Items range from a couple of dollars to thousands, depending on what you get. Some of the local art is positively stunning!
Restaurants serve good food, the view from either end is lovely with one direction out to see (sunset) and the other end looking at the water tower. We spend the rainy mornings shopping, the sunny afternoons poolside at our hotel, and then sometimes return to the Riverwalk for dinner.

By AllsWellsME |

Great views including flying fish and manatees. Love the Stuart downtown area! Just be aware that the hurricane wrecked a piece of the walk in front of Mulligans so you can't walk through right now ... Don't understand why it hasn't been fixed yet.

By 515madelinej |

This was great way to spend weekend without the drive to the keys . Great food Open air market on Sunday music great shops right on the water try it some Sunday you'll enjoy it . It's great for everyone there is a park for kids cool shops for teens . Bars and restaurants

By Yvonne C |

Nice stroll threw town and the riverwalk. Especially if it's before or after a performance at the Lyric Theatre which is just around the corner.

By Z1785JCmary |

Great place to stroll along the water, sit and watch boats, and/or dine in waterfront restaurants. Appears it is continuously being lengthened.

By daylilly50 |

In fairness our visit may have been colored by the weather It was damp, dreary and cool
The shops and restaurants looked charming but we didn't linger long
There is a free trolley to take you around and free parking
The view however was nothing special

By paulhV2441GD |

Riverwalk is, by far, the best restaurant in Stuart. Great food, excellent service, in an intimate setting.

By packratphyl |

great shopping, food, music.waterfront views and walks and fishing. Bring your lounge chairs and spend hours here!

By sheilafanthony |

I love this restaurant for its food, but now the tables are so close together the noise ruins my meal. There is one table for four near the restroom where you can have and hear a conversation during dinner.
For lunch, order the salad with goat cheese. Fabulous.

By Linda A |

Had to wait one hour for dinner to come out entree only. No soup salad or bread rolls on the table. Finally I asked it it would be possible to get some bread. Later we got the bill and noticed they charged three dollar for two thin toasted pieces of bread. The people at next table were laughing with us at the absurdity of the situation. Prices way too high for what we got. Won’t go back any time soon

By David S |

Riverwalk has a lively bar scene which really is more like a chefs table with everyone dining. They have a great selection of raw Oysters to get you started a great wine list both by the bottle and the glass. All of the main dishes are pleasing to the eye and have been exceptional. Try the Oysters, the Tuna Tacos, if they have the Fra Diavolo you cant go wrong.

By Wandering963 |

We walked this boardwalk both during the day and after dark. It provides great views of the St. Lucie River as well as a wonderful view of the lit up bridge after dark. A very nice place to walk

By Anonymous |

i like this river walk. beautiful and gorgeous. Neat and clean. Close to everything.Overlook was very good

By travelguy20151933 |

One of the best and most consistent readtaurants in Stuart. The Salmon, and the duck are our favorites and
They have a great selection of oysters. We go there for the food and for any excuse we can find

By cmanofcape |

Visiting Stuart's old town area, we decided to walk the boardwalk along the water and found it to be a very pleasant way to spend part of the afternoon.

By vankalen |

Pretty walk and nice way to work off calories from the many surrounding restaurants. It's got no railing tho so hold the little ones hands

By Cherylnne K |

Right on the river with the farmers market in the morning. Some great acts always something for everyone!

By Andy W |

midpoint between Sewalls Point and Jensen Beach on the Indian River lagoon. Nice walk for dogs with path to Truckee Mansion.

By Marion Z |

The downtown Stuart Riverwalk is a short, peaceful, enjoyable stroll! It is boarded on one side by the river. On Sundays, during season, there is, usually, a musical performance. The whole length is, probably, under 1/2 a mile. No wonder the town is so proud of the Riverwalk.

By Chuck K |

Nice waterfront walk along the St. Lucie river. Great place to catch some free live music on Sunday afternoons.

By SPRINGS2013 |

Downtown Stuart is charming and the river walk is beautifully kept and leads to under a great bridge.

By janetA5631HV |

Carries a lot of History and good food. With little stores in walking distance of River Walk. They sometimes have art shows etc.

By BK33458 |

Lovely area to take a walk along the boardwalk or sit on one of the benches and relax and simply enjoy the view. Recommend

By GuyEWood |

This is a very nice place to simply stroll and enjoy being near the water.

There are many great restaurants and shops along the way and nearby streets.

We've enjoyed long walks and rides on our Segways in this quaint area of Stuart.

We've always found a place to park in the area, but we've almost always visited during work days so I can imagine things are a little tight on weekends. Be patient, drive courteously, and keep your eyes open, and you'll find a place.

Don't worry. Be happy.

By CathMA |

Never loses its attraction. Lovely walk day or evening. The town, the Roosevelt bridge, the restaurants and stores and the people are all worth watching.

By Stuart Golfer |

Stuart foodies and bar types have kept Riverwalk as their place for years. Food is always excellent. Staff is even better. Small, so call for a res or plan on dinner at the bar.

By CFofLL |

The Riverwalk is a very pleasant place to stroll along on a nice day. Lots of friendly people coming and going, and there is always something going on and you can sit on a bench and enjoy the sights or go into one of the local bars or restaurants along the way. A must for every visitor.

By VillagerRick |

This is a good asset for the town. The boardwalk is along the water, in good repair, and away from any vehicular traffic. Unfortunately we chose a very hot day, so our walk was somewhat limited. We ended it at a restaurant for an early lunch.

By sallycoyne |

I cannot be packed in too such a small place though. Its just me. But I always recommend it if Im asked about the food.

By Madp207 |

We went on a beautiful summer day. The weather was beautiful. The food was absolutely delicious. The salads were fresh and there was plenty of it. The lobster roll the best! A great dining experience.

By Micki B |

Downtown is your typical tourist trap, but it is very pretty, lots of restaurants and shopping until your heart's content. Streets are like a maze and parking fills up fast.

By CuriousTraveller07 |

We visit the riverwalk, usually during the evening hours, after dining in old downtown Stuart, though there are, at times, also concerts and other performers in the area. During our most recent visit, in November, hurricane damage to the boardwalk interrupted the usual path, so one has to walk inland about a block or two to rejoin it later on. Otherwise it's a pleasant stroll to help one's digestion. It's usually quiet during our walk and sometimes wildlife can be seen, along the way, birds and fish mostly, where the light shines from street lamps placed strategically to prevent one's loosing one's footing. If lucky, fishermen will be seen bringing in their catch at the bridge. One can never know what to expect along the way, making for a pleasant outing.

By 112Lee |

There are free shuttle rides that give a tour and explain the history of the area. Nice restaurants, a theater with live entertainment scheduled on certain nights. The riverwalk is a nice area to take a little stroll, and look at the water. Then take a tour of the town, go to dinner or lunch. Nice way to spend a day.

By Alllllll |

We had a wonderful time in Stuart everyone was so nice accommodating. We stay at the Old Colarado and it was great also. We needed to unwind and it was perfect

By anna b |

I spent the day strolling around Stuart while my husband attended a meeting. Loved the town and the riverwalk is beautiful. Just one block off downtown with plenty of free parking near by PLUS a free shuttle. Restaurants near by as well. It was a great place to spend the afternoon and one I'll return to.

By SummerTyme08 |

We parked next to the Yacht Club and walked down to the river. It was a warm day, so we appreciated all the lovely trees that provided shade. There were benches along the way overlooking the water and many different types of boats were in the waterway. The Manatee Museum is a nice stop along the way.

By Sr_bigotes_12 |

Just a short stroll from our rental, the river walk was one of the wonderful assets Stuart can brag about and, it's pet friendly. Just a block from the charming downtown, there are shops, cafes, sidewalk and riverfront restaurants for visitors and locals to enjoy. Don't miss "Confusion Corner" or the passing of the occasional RR train right through downtown or, the regular shuttle service offering daily rides to pedestrians. We enjoyed daily walks throughout Stuart's downtown, the "Healthy Trail" even offers several dog bag stations.

By bangtherocks |

Nice job updating the waterfront, with lots of walking spaces available, as well as many restaurants. Those we tried on several visits were all good. Fun and funky shops add to the fun.

By John41354 |

Lots of shops near by. A bit breezy when we were there buy still worth the walk. Make sure to be there on Sunday for the free concert.

By Phil G |

Took a walk on a quiet Sunday morning and there were still plenty of restaurants open, a farmers market underway, and friendly people all around. The walk itself was enjoyable with awesome views of the river and bridges. It is pet friendly as well.

By romazzino |

Nice walk and great area with some wonderful architecture and historic buildings in the nearby "downtown" district. The boardwalk itself seemed to be showing it's age but definitely an easy fix.

By Karen F |

Fabulous walk can walk a long time or short but no railings along boardwalk so not child safe or even dog safe unless everyone is close in stroller or leash. Easy to park. Then walk through town of Stuart.

By scuba14u |

Nice place to walk. When your done walking you can stop in one of the many restaurants or shops. These are all with in walking distance. Parking is free in this area too.

By sailor295 |

Nice selection of vendors and live music make for an interesting and enjoyable Sunday afternoon. Pleasant experience.

By Jo Anne T |

We ate way too much at Twisted Tuna, and we needed to walk it off. This is the best place! Shops, restaurants, and the Pier. It was terrific!

By Mark A |

Drove to Stuart for a walk along the river followed by lunch at Sailors Return. I guess we were expecting more from the river walk than what we experienced. The boardwalk is along the water with no railings at all. I would not recommend for younger children at all. There were a couple of bars along the water that both have seen their better days. Stuart could do much better and use the waterfront area to really enhance the city. Just average walkway along water.

By paws0810 |

when in town visit this amazing relaxing place. sit and enjoy the water, stroll the neighborhood and get some food, or visit on a weekend (sunday) and hear some music and dance or just enjoy!

By RadWarrior60 |

Visited on a Saturday and lucked into the town's Art Fair. Vendors from all over lined the old downtown streets. Shops and a little museum were also open. Several places to eat or have a drink, will return next time we're in the area.

By markemurray |

Do not expect your reservation to be honored on time or sat at tables that were empty on arrival. I booked a table for 4 a week in advance and was told that I could only have the table from 630 to 8 PM. The restaurant called on the 29th to confirm, which then I confirmed.

Saturday, Jan. 30th, our party of four arrived 30 before our reservation. We were not seated inside for more than 45 minutes while we stood around waiting for our table. During this period, there were 2 -4 tops open, but these were reserved for others, who had not arrived. "Our" table was by occupied by a three-some who chatted away well after they had completed their meal and past their 630 PM ejection time. At 645 the host said she could not ask them to leave. We were not offered a table outside, although there were many tables open. We were not offered a beverage while we waited.

I finally requested a table outside at 655 PM, and we were seated. Once seated, our server was very pleasant, but the food was slow coming out of the kitchen. My "medium rare fillet" come out medium well. Oh well, lesson learned; "busy restaurants with high reviews, still have lessons to be learned."

By JOSEPH |

Had dinner there 2/6/20, I saw they had duck on the menu, waiter said yes, 1/2 a duck, bone in. very crispy. What came looked like two pieces of fried chicken, cooked to death. It was not possible to cut this"duck" with a kife, it had to be eaten like fried chicken, picked up by the bones. The "duck" was dry and unfavorable, chewy, and a poor entray for $30.00. look elsewhere, lots of great places in Stuart.

By Celebrate P |

We go there on a regular basis and the food is always EXCELLENT. Great local vibe that makes you feel welcome and at home. Never had anything that wasn't delicious. We usually go fr the fresh catch. Our fav is the Hog Fish but all is good. Service is also great. (Miss the roasted garlic)

By Chaotime |

Dinner at Luna Italian Restaurant and then a walk on the Riverwalk to enjoy places to have ice cream or people watch with the whole family.

By Laurel H |

We always enjoy our dining experience at Riverwalk. The preparation and presentation of the dishes never disappoints. We are eagerly awaiting our next visit, New Year's Eve.

By Fraser's Travels & Craft Beer |

Stayed in Stuart for a night during a month long road trip around Florida. Downtown Stuart turned out to be our favorite little city of the trip. It was a Sunday and there was a craft market and live band playing on a stage built out over the river. There are plenty of places to eat, one of a kind shops to browse and a beautiful walk along the “Riverwalk” boardwalk.
The boardwalk is well maintained, it’s a lovely stroll where you can walk out some distance from shore via the “Boardwalk Run” to enjoy the views and some cooling breezes on a hot day. The walk ends under the large Roosevelt Bridge carrying the main Route 1 road over the river.
There is good free parking all around. Leave enough time to enjoy this super little place.

By Michaelvera2014 |

Beautiful place to visit for a stroll, lunch or dinner. Love checking out all the shopping. Nice to walk out on boardwalk.

By twink62 |

This is a great little area with some really cool shops. I definitely suggest that you not miss it when you visit.

By slpsomm |

Very nice walking path. It is clean and you can see the bridge, water, shopping ands restaurants in the area.

By bbqlover71 |

Been here many times but my first reviewing it I walk along the river it’s a wooden plank system and go out on the peers just look at the scenery and people watch there’s usually quite a few people down that way then I walk up to the city blocks there’s a couple box there with a lot of stores and restaurants and stuff Nice relaxing walk sometimes I go 2 times a week here there’s there’s usually people playing music along the way

By Bob C |

After lunch at a restaurant near the river walk, we strolled along part of the 1-1/2 mile long river walk to enjoy the water views. Well worthwhile, and great for baby strollers.

By Heather J |

The riverwalk is awesome. Live music on the weekends. Lots of restaurants nearby. Great dinghy and boat dock.
If you venture off the riverwalk there is a free shuttle around town. Give it a visit!!

By HarleyDallas |

Absolutely great walk, done in the morning, leading to an outstanding marina with beautiful yachts and other boats.

By michael c |

Always good, excellent food and service

In a renovated old building

A place you can go back to with confidence that you will have a great meal

By nangwynn |

This is the only restaurant where I will eat oysters and they are amazing. Service is excellent, staff friendly, food is amazing. My husband's dishes are always great.

By Guy A |

We moved here just over a year ago, after three years of searching where we would retire. As we searched we would drive up the coasts of Florida, then back down, poking around everywhere, looking at homes and cities. Every trip we made we would stop in Stuart for lunch, or dinner, or to spend the night.

Finally when it came time to pick a spot we said "why not Stuart" we seem to be attracted to it.

The Riverwalk area is just beautiful, on the St. Lucie River with great bars and restaurants. We are here at least every couple of weeks and keep our boat on the other side of the river.

Love Stuart.

Although I live in the area, this is one of my favorite places to spend a long lunch hour or a 1/2 day off. The boardwalk along the river is so beautiful and there is something for everyone, from outdoor markets on the weekends to small parks where you can sit and look out over the river. There are shops and restaurants for every taste and mood. A little shopping and dining oasis and a great place to exercise and enjoy the beautiful weather safely. I highly recommend a tour of the Stuart Feed store Museum for a taste of local history.

A truly wonderful walk on the shore of the St Lucie River in downtown Stuart.
The walkway is a elevated wooden path alongside the bank of the river.

By Smb1600 |

River walk is along waters edge and had a live band playing today ( Sunday) fun.
The town is fun lots of good shops to thru and while there was an arts and crafts fair on most of downtown and also a farmers market. All was fun on a perfect florida day

The Riverwalk is a beautiful, clean, relaxing place to visit. So peaceful and quiet. We found it quite by accident, but are really glad we did. It's a must see if you are in the area!

By Petunia723 |

Charming local shops, restaurants, and entertainment. Green Market and Rockin' Riverwalk on Sundays is great fun.

Very Very Nice Place, wine and beer only ,we sat at bar eating there also, great raw bar & fantastic Oysters, again I say very small,Food was Fantastic and desert was even better,I had complete dinner little pricey, wife had app and salad ,in season real tough to get into but they do take reservations.

By Rock-0la |

Great place to take a stroll along the boardwalk. There are nearby restaurants and shops that you can visit. The view is very nice and relaxing. I would definitely recommend if you are in the area.

By Threadfin |

A very relaxing stroll along the wide St. Lucie River awaits you here. The view is fantastic. There are picnic tables available so bring a lunch to much as you gaze at the subtropical surroundings. Visit the quaint downtown Stuart area while you are there. It is just a few blocks from the park.

Several Stuart regulars praised the Riverwalk. We tried it three times and came away disappointed. Not the worst meal you can have, but considering the price, we expected better.

By banjomike77 |

We had a great meal, served by a terrific waiter. We're hoping to take visiting friends there for a special treat.

By Janice T |

Well maintained boardwalk along the St. Lucie River passes restaurants, a great outside bar right next to the water, community center, government office, and a wonderful outside music venue often scheduled for Sunday afternoons. Also there's a public park with picnic tables, restrooms, and a wonderful old museum which was originally a downtown store in Stuart. This river walk passes the Stuart Green Market on Sundays from 8 or 9 am to at least noontime. Great just for a daily walk or for these venues. Good free parking.

By oldwoodboats |

Used the Riverwalk to access our restaurant on a busy day of musical performances. Walk is excellent - wide; safe, and picturesque with many access points

By Tmanya0322 |

Very pretty area with lots of shops and restaurants. The workers in the shops were very friendly! The only down side was most shops closed at 6:00 when we were there on a Wednesday. We had gone to a Spring Training game during the day so did not have very much time to look around (which I guessed saved me some money!) We had dinner on the patio at Duffy's Sports Grill which was very nice. I would recommend.

By Scene-set |

Well worth a visit if you are in the Stuart area - plenty of car parking although the weekend we visited (pm) it was pretty busy!

A boardwalk as it should be (used to be) no rails just a basic board walk along the edge of the river - was longer than we expected and looks like it is being extended (or maybe repaired) at the southern end of the walk at the time of writing.

Easy and close access to some bars and restaurants.

By martha ann s |

Dinner seems to be pretty great at Riverwalk no matter when we are visiting Stuart! From year to year, food and service are consistently wonderful! The Hogfiah is perfectly prepared...not overlooked! Oysters Rockafeder are Awesome as well! They beat Antoine's in New Orleans where they began hands down!!
(If in Charleston, SC, try Langdon's for some equally awesome Oysters Rockefeller too!)

By Vacation517 |

The Riverwalk is nice but the restaurants and shops are better. We ate at the Boatyard and everything was good. Lots of locals seem to gather there.

By bobbydarrellm |

Birthday dinner with friends! The scallops were buttery delicious, the duck was superb, and the Louisiana oysters on the half shell were salty to perfection! To top it all off, the creme brulee was scrumptious! Be sure to make a reservation, as space is limited. A definite must eat in the downtown Stuart area!

By marie s |

We are back in Stuart once again and could not be happier to see that the Riverwalk through Stuart and then down under the Roosevelt Bridge is still wonderful to stroll on. If you enjoy restaurants, Stuart has them. If you want shopping Stuart has great boutiques and art. If you just want to enjoy a quiet stroll on the boardwalk, Stuart has that too. Lots of parking, but on a weekend or a beautiful day it does get crowded.

By Ana V |

Gorgeous historical area on water. Lots of cafes and shoppes nearby with music everywhere! Weather is just perfect and this river walk is breezy and serene.

By audikos |

The Riverwalk is gorgeous. Cute houses and little shops line it. The walkway itself is in great shape - very clean and well kept.

By Lynne D |

We were early for a medical appointment and decided to check out the historic area of Stuart. The shops are lovely and varied. Plenty of benches to sit a while. lots of inviting eateries with indoor and outside seating. Will return to enjoy all this area has to offer.

By robtgd52 |

Great location with a wonderful view. walking distance from many of Stuarts fine restaurants .Great way to walk off a meal.

By Bill B |

Start at Sailors return, meander along the walk under the Roosevelt bridge and along a park on one side and the river on the other. Continue on to historic old town Stuart for a wonderful meal at any of the numerous restaurants, or a dessert at one of the family Icecream shops. Fun little downtown right on the water.

By golfxj6 |

Went with friends after golf. Food was excellent, service even better. Our waitress (Brittany??) was charming and engaging. A nice alfresco dine in downtown Stuart

Beautiful family visit from Orlando. Fresh air, light breeze, Dinner at local Pizza restaurant, Luna Pizza. Best Pizza. Great shops. Will visit again.

This is the perfect place to spend a sunny Florida Sunday afternoon strolling through the quaint streets of downtown Stuart. There are plenty of restaurants to chose from, whether you're looking for family friendly or romantic and intimate. After dinner you will definately want to stop for an ice cream or piece of home-made fudge at one of the the shops offering delectable treats! The many boutiques offer something for everyone. Bring a chair and set-up by the river while listening to bands playing or stroll on the pier to watch the activities. This is one of my favorite places to spend a day and I always make sure to bring my guests when they come for a visit.

By timbS5649YZ |

Lovely to just stroll around, good mix of shops to browse in, great restaurants and choices and they have lots of events, from bands to art shows. Also it has a great little theatre.

By Liamsmamo |

Mornings I try to get in a walk along the St Lucie River by driving to the very end of Colorado Blvd, right at the river. Park next to the “Owl House “ and start walking the boardwalk. Going past downtown, maybe a swing out and back on the Stuart dock, on to the bridge, out and back on the fishing pier under the bridge, continue on under the rail tracks, cross the old bridge road, admire the yachts at the city pier and either continue into a lovely old residential area or head back. Or stop along the way for breakfast. Great way to start the day!!!

By giresi |

It is nice for family or couples, felt safe, shops were nice people were friendly .They were having some kind of flea market did not no that was going on the water witch I thought was the ocean it was not they call it the river .If you have a boat there were a lot of place you could pull up to food gas ect things you may need for a day out on a boat

By Cheryl M |

We came here with friends and you could smell the algae on the river that has been causing problems with so many riverfront businesses. So sad to have such problems in what could be a gorgeous area.

By Kathleen H |

We walked about 3 miles every day on Riverwalk from our bed and breakfast to downtown Stuart and the various restaurants along the way. It was beautiful but just wish there were more railings.

By Pyramidion |

The phrase "Biggest Little City" applies perfectly to Stuart. This town has it all. We do a day trip or overnight regularly since Stuart is an hour drive from our home. Great Restaurants decent hotels, beaches, shopping, art museums and galleries. River walk and a short hop across the bridge to Hutchinson Island for even more ; the intercoastal ,a beautiful bay and the Ocean Beaches.. Be sure to visit the Elliott Museum. River walk offers the greatest in fun shopping from antiques and crafts to contemporary home furnishings, trendy clothing and , fun places for lunch and dinners at every price point. Wonderful walking and browsing. Good evening crowd with bars and live music. Shop owners are very friendly and helpful. Too easy to get carried away with gift shopping. Worth one to five days.

By Milton W |

Nice place to go for a morning, noon, or evening stole. The grandkids love it and it is so relaxing. Fishing seem good also..;-)

By lakeozonia |

We walked the planks during a large discharge from Lake O by the Army Corp of Engineers. The river water was horrible, brown and murky. In spite of the very poor water quality the River Walk is a fun way to get some exercise, see the river front, and view some wildlife.

By Marvin B |

I love to walk along the riverwalk. It affords a beautiful view of the surrounding area and leads to historic downtown Stuart and Flagler park. It's also well maintained and is currently being refurbished in sections. you are still able to walk along the majority of it.

By sobederm |

Not really accessible for handicapped individuals, and no handrails so those with impaired walking should be accompanied.

By Steven L |

Very nice and peaceful place to spend a few hours on the weekend and they have markets on the weekend as well

By Catgarv |

Lovely town to walk around and browse through all the great little shops. Have lunch right on the water. I keep coming back I love it so much I’m buying a house there.

By lendi224 |

This is a lovely boardwalk-type walk along the riverfront. You can look at the river on one side and lots of lovely houses, restaurants, and sitting areas on the other. Gives you an idea of how the old cities that built up along rivers used to be.

By Ksrdoc |

Riverwalk and the adjoining shops/restaurants make great backdrop for a nice evening stroll. Wide variety of restaurant choices as well as other treats.

By 890claudec |

Very fun, nice place, good restaurants ( Maria's café )
Nice market, where we buy our French cheese...
But we go first for the live music !

By arubamark |

Wonderful place to walk around, enjoy the river and the ambiance.Always something going on and worth visiting.

By Marybeth C |

This is one of the nicest places for a walk or a rest. The views are fantastic, parking is close by and there are many choices for places to eat or shop just a short stroll away.

By mr1z |

It's a nice quiet place to go on a date, to just walk and enjoy the evening.

There's also a few places such as Sailor's Return, which is at the end under the bridge. A nice friendly quiet place to relax

By Laurie Q |

Loved the Healthy Trail Riverwalk! Great way to avoid traffic and be super close to the waters of the St Lucie River. Be aware there are no railings , especially if walking with children or pets and be sure to use a flashlight at night, it gets very dark even with sporadic street lights.Fun to observe the change in water levels from the tidal changes and to observe the seeded oyster beds.

By Gary A |

Brought the whole family to the river walk. Of course the kids thought it would be so boring. To their surprise they had a great time just experiencing what life would of been like in old Florida. They can’t wait to come back

By Chickadee2013 |

We love this area of Stuart and didn't want to leave the waterfront. We stayed near the riverwalk and walked to lunch and dinner both days. If you visit Stuart, definitely check it out. There are many restaurants and bars in the area with live music. You do not want to miss it.

By Mary L |

Looking for a clean, quiet place to get some sun, fresh air and exercise? This is the place for you. The Riverwalk provides walkers a lot of waterfront views as well as access to some top restaurants in the area and an alternative to shopping at the great shoppes of Stuart.

By Carla J |

We only walked for a short distance on the Riverwalk as it was a cold and windy day. What we could see was very nice and I would go back again on a nicer day.

By bill555555 |

This used to be a wonderful place to stroll the shops and get a bite to eat. Thing have changed. first came the blue green algae and its stench. now we have to deal with the idiocy created by the foolish downtown renovation project. went to the arts and craft show yesterday. all of the shade trees were taken out and all that was planted were wispy palms providing no shade. it was so hot without shade and having blistering asphalt for the vendors and customers was brutal. the mastermind of this project should be run out of town.....get some shade trees.

By Pyramidion |

Good walk, shops and dining choices. Lyric theater a treasure. River views are lovely from boardwalk. Ample parking.

By Mike N |

Delicious food and ask for Laura, she's the best server! I simply love the variety of up scale dishes they offer.

By Rink64 |

Wandering around before a Taj Mahal concert, looking for the Riverwalk Cafe and Oyster bar with no luck, but we walked the boardwalk. Florida January cold, windy, but we're Canadian, so it was balmy for us, lol

By marciadurham |

There are so many stores to check out quaint little stores that have unique items. It's very relaxing. To stroll along the boardwalk is not only romantic in the Moonlight but it is a good exercise routine as well. Highly recommend

Historic Downtown Stuart is a beautiful place for dining, shopping and sightseeing. There lots of stores from clothing, ice cream, to restaurants. The strip is lined with historic old buildings which kind of bring you back in time. At one end you enjoy and walk along the St. Lucie River. The views are just amazing. Parking can be difficult so be patient.

By SDGirl |

The Riverwalk was nice, just small. Stores are mainly high-end type boutiques. Nice free tram took us around and shared some local history. Very few restaurants.

By Ihopp |

Whenever I am in Stuart, I HAVE to come to this restaurant. I just love the raw New England oysters that are served here. They have a great selection of wine to go with your eats. The menu is eclectic but it is just the regular food served in a unique way. Although it is small, it is well worth the wait. You'll be coming back again and again.

By Don L |

Riverwalk in Stuart Florida is a wonderful park, shops and restaurants in this iconic fishing village.

A terrific park for walking, stunning views and people watching. Take your camera and wallet to enjoy the shops antiques and restaurants, and even a museum close by. Enjoy.

By Marty Bielicki |

In a recent Google post, downtown Stuart was one of 10 “Best Downtowns” in Florida. There is a definite charm with the number of shops, café’s, restaurants and the inviting waterfront boardwalk. The area was once known as “Potsdam,” but the name was misconstrued to “Dam-pots.” Thus, the town was changed to a local neighbor named “Stuart” near the turn of the 20th century.

It was once said the downtown Stuart has a “walking problem, not a parking problem.” Certain times of the day it is tough to find parking near your intended target. To help matters, the City of Stuart has added a free tram service if you are lucky to catch it. There is sometimes parking down near Flagler Park and at Wells Fargo Bank. A number of streets have a three-hour limit on parking. Look for the signs if you have such a space. There is a parking officer that will enforce parking with a ticket. Lately, this officer is enforcing “No Trucks on the left-side” on Osceola Street. Many new arrivals miss these signs.

Sunday brings a Farmers Market to Flagler Park from 9:00 to 2:00. It is also on Sunday that a band plays at 4:00 along the downtown waterfront.

The key to Confusion Corner is to go slow, follow the lines and the person in front of you. Never, ever put yourself in the position of stopping on the railroad tracks. Brightline trains will definitely run you over.

If you are in the mood, a walk along the waterfront boardwalk will bring smiles. It is a rather long boardwalk that stretches from the small Colorado park all the way across and under the railroad to Sailors Restaurant and marina. At night there are small lights along the railing to guide you. We have found the sunrises to be quite stunning.

Naming a few recommended restaurants would not be fair. There are over 20 restaurants in walking distance. There are four restaurants directly on the St. Lucie River. There is a restaurant for everyone’s budget.

A Stuart Heritage Museum is near Flagler Park if you are so inclined to learn more about this area that dates back to circa 1890’s. There are some visitors that make it to the enlightening Elliot Museum, Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center and House of Refuge on Hutchinson Island. There is a certain charm about Stuart that brings people back time after time.

If you found this review “helpful” in any way, please press “Thumbs-up” to let me know.

We were there on a cloudy/windy day in March, and walked the entire length. It was a very lovely walk, which included eating at the Pelican Cafe located near the marina end. We saw plenty of flowers and birds along the walk. I saw people of all abilities maneuvering their way along this flat boardwalk.

By Michael M |

Well designed and constructed walk along the River, with lots of restaurants and bars close to the walk. We had live music close to Stuart and a great bar with munchies. A great weekend walk! 👍

By Thomas G |

We enjoy taking a walk here. It is over the water and it is just relaxing. We always find time to take a walk here

By tree3bm |

River walk great! Beautiful view. The bridge you walk under was unique. Go to the town museum.
Little free tram/ tour Great! Duffy's BOGO drinks all day- Great too!
It is definitely worth the trip to visit Stuart. Nice shops and a nice little downtown. Just call for the little Tram ( number posted on signs).
nice town!

By Fudbutter |

Nice boardwalk along the river if you can find parking. Great view of the bridge which you can also walk under. Several restaurants at the beginning of the route (or end depending on your point of view) but we chose a higher rated one further away after our walk

By gary4490 |

Riverwalk is an excellent restaurant! They specialize in oysters but everything there is great! It is small so a reservation is a good idea. The wait staff is friendly and very helpful. It is one of our favorite places to eat for lunch or dinner.

By slc37918 |

Nicely done boardwalk. Long enough for a nice walk. Very little shade so it gets Hot when sunny. It connects some waterfront restaurants but not much else to see besides the river. It’s not blue-green water and not typical river water - the water is almost milk chocolate brown.

By louisedp |

Lots of interesting shops. restaurants. theater and people watching in a one block area. Happy Hour and river front views from to eateries and on Sunday...Farmer's Market & live music.

By V7759OKchristinem |

Just loved being outside and enjoying the nice weather and sights around the fountain I always enjoy my time down here in Port St.Lucie, FL.

By Raquel M |

This is a very nice area next to Saint Lucie River, restaurants facing the river looks good, plenty of picnic tables and green areas to stop. Parts of the bridges are missing the parapet so watch out with the kids there. I think the river still suffers from the green algae issues but due to strong winds we did not mind that day (no smell).

Tip for families: Do start your Stuart exploring day leaving your car at Kiwanis Park, there you have free & safe parking, then a nice park with tables for picnic and clean bathrooms. The playgrounds are terrific, perfect for toddlers and school aged kids. Walking distance to Downtown Stuart and from there to Riverwalk. Totally recommended for Families.

By Cindy H |

Very nice water view and restaurants. Very nice downtown area withinteresting shops. Like to go on Sundays for the music and grab some lunch. I live in the are so we are there often

By garyb36350 |

This is several hundred yards long. There are benches along the way to sit and contemplate. It isn't traveled much so you won't be disturbed. Yo can walk almost to the freeway you x=can see in the picture. There are a couple of places to eat along the way, and easy exits back to Stuart. We've walked this several times.

By WineGirl1963 |

My husband and I stayed at the Old Colorado Inn, in downtown Stuart. The Riverwalk started a block from our hotel, so we took several evening strolls.
It was an enjoyable walk from our hotel to The Sailors Return and back through downtown.
There is a nice pitstop at Shuckers along the way.
This was not the San Antonio Riverwalk, by any stretch of the imagination...but still nice, all the same.
If you like to walk, I highly recommend it.

I love the Riverwalk! There are shops and restaurants galore. A lovely little downtown area that has everything you could want. From Funky shops to true craftsman. Lots of restaurants to choose from all along the River affording you the ability to observe Mother Nature at her best.

By TousPourUn |

Nice area to walk but only when the weather is mild otherwise it is sweltering. Not a whole lot of shops but a good scenic stroll. Have the kids bring scooters

By Christopher G |

The walkway is in great shape and lit at night. It had bays and marinas on one side with restaurants, boutiques, shops, parks, and houses on the other side. Most shops and food eateries are a little touristy with seafood prices above what they should be. However it is fun and safe for the whole family and makes for a leisurely stroll. On sunday afternoon a free band plays at the main pavilion on the water near the center of Stuart.Tee town has done a nice job creating an enjoyable experience.

This has to be one of the nicest waterfronts in south Florida. Its free and easy to access. There are some dining establishments just off of it and more in 'downtown' Stuart. All are walkable and great places to stop for a meal or just a drink or two. Shopping in downtown Stuart is full of great interesting small family owned businesses. Its clean and it's safe and its BEAUTIFUL!

We have been coming to Stuart for many years and always enjoy walking the Riverwalk after a terrific meal in any one of Stuart's many fine restaurants. There is a beautiful park where you can relax and walk under the bridge on US 1. We have enjoyed and will continue to enjoy watching the river.

We live in Broward county and really love coming here. Nice collection of restaurants and shops. Great little cigar shop as well. We always meet our friends here. It’s nice to light up a cigar and walk along the water. Parking can difficult some times. Just a nice play to hang out.

walk in this area and Have a lot of fun . My hotel was super and clean . I met many peoples who were so sympatique , we gone to have meal with them. I love Riverwalk.

By William W |

We agree with all the previous positive reviews so no need to repeat them here. We were staying at the Old Colorado Inn, which we highly recommend, so it was a one block walk to get onto the river walk. Did it several times during our five day stay and even stopped on a Saturday morning for a bloody mary at Mulligans. Perfect view of the St. Lucie river when sitting at their outdoor bar.

By marywH5946MR |

This beautiful wooden walkway stretches from the heart of downtown Stuart to a distant marina. Whether strolling along or trying to break a sweat, the walkway is surrounded with beautiful views. The river abuts the walkway and one can see boats pulling up to docks or graceful sailboats gliding along. Cool breezes bridges, sea life and sea birds are all part of this environment. Turning to the land side , the walker passes by a variety of restaurants and a park. On Sundays the park is full of venders and a band concert is held for the enjoyment of all. A great place to visit multiple times as something new will catch your eye.

By DeaconCanada |

Actually, every time we go to Stuart for a lunch, we are sure to walk some of it off on the beautiful boardwalk easily accessible and recently expanded for a level accessible river access. Very enjoyable hour or so.

By Janice Q |

My family enjoys walking around Stuart and this is the place to go. Once you have walked the streets and shopped in the great shops and dined in or if you decide to take out food at the restaurants, you will definitely enjoy Riverwalk. You can either walk the boardwalk and enjoy the views, or get takeout food and just sit at one of the picnic tables and enjoy the view.

By Don G |

Great place to people watch, pelican watch and lazily spend a morning or afternoon. It's just a water front place that allows you to share your daydreams with the fish.

By Ron K |

We enjoyed walking the Boardwalk over the water. Not much to see but it is relaxing. This is much bigger than expected so allow the time if this interests you.

We started with lunch at the Boathouse (excellent), and walked along the "Healthy Trail" (it's official name), ending at the Sunset Bay Marina. Beautiful views, with a number of well-placed benches, should you wish to sit and watch boats as they sail or motor by on the St. Lucie River. Relaxing and fun!

The Stuart Riverwalk starts at the amphitheater and continues to the Sailors Return Restaurant on the St Lucie River. Nice short walk - you can even stop at Mulligan's downstairs bar and enjoy a beverage and some food with a nice view of the river. At the end of the walk at Sailors Return you can also enjoy looking at the marina - especially nice view at sunset.

On a Saturday night we walked in without reservations, we wanted bar seats for dinner. It was packed. Not to worry though we were seated at the bar within 10 minutes, as others moved to tables. The service was excellent and the food perfect. I had lemon grass Hog Fish my husband had the Snapper. Atmosphere was quaint and personal. Our kind of place. We will be back!

By Bigkahuna1962 |

This is my watering hole. The mussels in white wine appetizer is one of my favorites; it comes with crunchy garlic bread. The oysters are very fresh and come from around the country. The fish is always fresh and the food is very creative. Don't miss their homemade bread pudding.

By Debra216 |

Everything is good. Tuna, oysters, salads. Hog snapper is usually on the menu. Full bar and a nice wine selection. The food is amazing and the specials everyday are always good.

By Scotty1943 |

We had such a nice lunch! The atmosphere and staff were friendly and the service was great. Crab cakes were yummy and the sweet potato fries were like none I've ever had. My friend had the salad with oysters and she raved about it. I can't wait to go back!

Enjoyed our 4-day stay. Walk to shops and dining. Use the free shuttles that will take you around. It’s like a mini Key-west without the noise and debauchery 😊 Stroll on the river walk. Restaurants and bars on the Riverwalk. We stayed at the Old Colorado Inn, highly recommend.

We spent Sunday afternoon strolling the river walk area in downtown Stuart. We listened to live music on the stage and shopped at the Green Market.

By marie s |

Stuart is a lively little town filled with all sorts of interesting shops and restaurants. It is home to what the locals call the “Riverwalk”. It is a walkway next to the St Lucie River which includes a beautiful park, the boathouse restaurant and a stroll under the very large bridge over the river. It is a wonderful place with terrific breezes on a hot day to enjoy some refuge from the broiling sun. There is plenty of free parking unless the Stuart Boat Show or a special show at the stage are on for the weekend. Leave enough time to enjoy this delightful town, you won’t be sorry.

By Gail H |

Riverwalk was great. Nice walking along the river, enjoyed the scenery and the breezes. We walked some small lizards, on the rocks, with orange on their heads and tails. Seems like they originated from West Africa.

By sarah s |

This is a lovely little walk right on the water in downtown Stuart. I would be hesitant to walk here with little kids as there is no fencing on the water side. We walked down near the river and then through the main little street which was lined with small stores and restaurants.

By CyndyandByron |

The City of Stuart has claimed the bank of the St. Lucie River as part of its attractions for residents and visitors alike. The traffic is hectic in this town and streets downtown are narrow. Want a place to walk the dog or get a 1/4 mile walk for the day, go to the Riverwalk. It even extends into the river so you can watch all of the leisure activities from a bench. It ends in the Flagler Park area so you can take your lunch and stop for a bit. If you did not bring lunch, there are restaurants along the way. Always a breeze on a hot day!

I;m not a fan of Stuart, but this is worth going to, especially on Sunday. Parking and driving in the area is a 'cluster', but I would go back.

Brought my dog and it was a great place to walk after training each day. Love the area, plan to go back and vacation this year, just gorgeous.

We've been to Riverwalk many times for both lunch, dinner, drinks, and have never been disappointed. Excellent food, great menu with lots of choices plus daily specials and friendly service!

Downtown Stuart offers so much to locals and tourists. The various shops, a super museum, a "concert hall", a walk way along the river and best of all the Farmers market and Concert series on Sunday afternoons..

We had a wonderfully prepared dinner tonight. High level cuisine, well presented and good service. It was worth the price.

Riverwalk in Stuart is a great place and nice walkway. It’s mostly wooden so easy on the knees and it’s flat. Not guarded on either side so watch you don’t fall in the water!

We've visited the Stuart River walk a few times. It's convenient to Rt 1 and to downtown Stuart. There is a lovely park on SW Flagler Ave. where you can park your car and access the boardwalk. The boardwalk has nice views of the St. Lucie River and is a very relaxing place to spend some time in Stuart.

By Sharon H |

Great walk along the river! I walked alone and felt safe in doing so. There was a lovely park and benches all along the way.

Stumbled into this small old downtown Stuart restaurant on a very rainy, windswept day.
Sat at the bar not expecting much. Was very surprised at the result. My wife had one of the best blackened fish sandwiches she had ever tasted. Also, she's an expert. I ate a wonderful crab cake sandwich special. If ever in Stuart give this place a try.

By DebbieSNH |

Beautiful wooden boardwalk for about 1/2 mile with excellent views. Lots of nice restaurants and boutique type shops; however, the shops closed early(5 pm) though there were lots of people around much later.

Locals and Snow Birds enjoy coming to the downtown Stuart Area just near the world famous "Confusion Corner"...(Google it ;) ) It's a very nice place to stroll at sundown or anytime and get lunch or dinner. Many excellent places to eat from very very inexpensive to different daily menu high end cuisine.
My Wife enjoys the local T-Shirt and Clothing Boutiques. Very eclectic little shops for clothes, art, knick nacks, Old fashioned Cigar and Tobacco Humidor shop, Kilwins Ice Cream....mmmm.
There is a very long boardwalk along the water that goes under the Roosevelt Bridge and the Railroad bridge over the water. Very scenic especially at night. Very romantic. Nice bars with outdoor seating...food outside as well many places. It's really a thriving little old fashioned downtown by the water type of situation. This area is what sold me on moving here 10 years ago really.
Very pet friendly shops and area. Nice park there too with basketball courts and playgrounds / swings etc for kids right on the water. Nice bike paths etc. I go there an stroll quite a bit. Nice breeze off the water keeps it cool year round.

We met friends for a nice dinner. Reservations are a must. Parking is very difficult. But we were pleased with the food and the service.

Went to the farmers market and walked along the river. Went back the next night. Very nice during the day but beautiful at night with all the lights!

By WooHooWineWoman |

Walked the entire Riverwalk. It was a long walk. Beautiful and refreshing. A brisk jaunt allowed us to burn off our lunch. Would definitely do it again.

By 721elysem |

Its been awhile since I ate here but the food was good tad pricey though.Short walk like 1/2 block to the water view.

By Maggi713 |

We went for a walk along Stuart's Riverwalk which takes you along the St. Lucie River starting at Historic Downtown Stuart. We strolled past parks and restaurants. You are gifted with a beautiful view of the river. They have a variety of musical events that run on Sundays from October through May, including the Rock n' Riverwalk Music Series. There's also a Sunday Green Market by City Hall, accessible from the Riverwalk from 9 to 1.

By packednreadyNePa |

What a serene place to visit at sunset - peaceful and quiet. Plenty of free parking. The riverwalk is ADA in spots.

By PigCooker19 |

We had a blast walking on the Riverwalk and listening to the free live music on a Sunday afternoon. Lot of cool shops and a lot of cool people. Be sure to grab a beer or 2 at the Pelican Cafe under the bridge at end of the street under the bridge. We spent a couple of hours here twice during our 5 day stay!

By Travelgirl2111 |

Live coming here on sundays. The music is amazing. Great view on the water. Couldnt ask for better. Great resturants in the area to pick up food including good food venders.

By Andrea C |

Walking around River is scenic. A plus is that clean restrooms are near City Hall. Benches are also available on the route. Local restaurants offer outdoor seating to enjoy the view.

Always love the Riverwalk area of Stuart. Very lively and safe, with great selection of cafes and restaurants.

By flora e |

Great place to vist and walk on the riverwalk. Very calm and lovely just to walk and or walk downtown Stuart.

By CSI |

At one end is a little pocket park, you walk on a wooden path along the water. You may see manatees in the water if you go early in the day, but its pleasant at any time. Not a very long walk, but you can extend it by walking through the historic downtown.

By Daniel C |

Visited the river walk for the first time with friends from out of town.
Was disappointed in the amount of litter everywhere...in the water, along the shore and on the boardwalk itself.

By mikeydbell |

Interesting shops to shop in, outstanding restaurants, and the Riverwalk with wonderful views of Stuart and surrounding areas.

By lalou222 |

How many times can you really say excellent staff - they are knowledgable, friendly efficient and you can tell they are proud of the restaurant. The food is always perfectly presented, delicious and serioulsy invested in the oyster pleasing arena. Nice compliment of wines, great location. Can't wait to go back.

By Scott M |

We came here to just to get out and walk and loved all the shops and ice cream places. Everything was clean and looked well.

By Kristen M |

Very enjoyable walkway with lovely views of the river, birds, riverfront, people, etc. Easy walking distance to shopping and many dining establishments to suit all tastes. A great place to take out of town company. Park in the municipal lot which is close to the walkway.

By Lovin' Life |

The waterfront area is lovely and Stuart did make some attempt at a Riverwalk but you could complete it in about three minutes. That’s all there is to it but maybe in the future it will be enlarged.

By Jjwakeman |

The Riverwalk follows the shoreline of the St. Lucie River just steps from beautiful downtown Stuart where there are plenty of restaurants and quaint shops. The Riverwalk stage overlooks the St. Lucie Rivet and hosts a free outdoor concert every Sunday afternoon.

By HBFLA |

Pleasant walk in downtown Stuart on the water. Next to downtown Stuart with wonderful boutique shops and restaurants.

By Rodyll |

This charming resto downtown is always busy because of the quality of its food and service. Make reservations because it is a favorite among locals who are regulars. The fish is always excellent with generous portions and the oyster selection quite good. Great for lunch, too.

By mct3c |

We walked along the Riverwalk while in Stuart at different times of the day. Early evening had quite a few people out. Nice breeze off the river made walking in July comfortable. Note to those with small kids - there are no railings for much of the walk.

Always a delight to walk downtown Stuart and a part of that experience is to do the “Riverwalk.” There is a restaurant with the same name. A wide boardwalk stretches west of the picturesque Roosevelt Bridge. East of the bridge is Flagler Park, great for a picnic and there is a children's playground. The boardwalk ends at the Stuart Colorado Avenue Park. The Riverwalk is extremely inviting along the famous St. Lucie River.

Sunday is a popular day to visit the Riverwalk area. In the morning to early afternoon is the “Green Market.” Not that large but inviting nonetheless. We like to have the free samples particularly from Granny Gail’s Goodies. In the afternoon a free band plays along the water’s edge. These bands are quite good. People like to bring their lawn chairs as seating is limited in the stage area.

Parking can be a pain at any day of the week. There is parking west and east of the railroad tracks where the large Sailfish fountain roundabout is located. Stuart is called “The Sailfish Capital of the World.”

If all else fails, try parking behind the Stuart Heritage Museum. A lot exists that some locals know about and is last to fill up. Much of the parking downtown has a three hour limit. A person does come around, checks and will levy a fine.

If you are lucky, you can catch the free tram that will take you to the center of downtown. It is slow driving in downtown Stuart, so take your time and enjoy the ambiance. And if all else fails, you can come by a boat as there are free slips by the end of the pier.

If you are interested in local history, the Stuart Heritage Museum is a must. Once known as the Stuart Feed and Supply, a collection of historical potpourri is infused to tell about the life and times of the people who call Stuart their home.

Walking downtown Stuart has charm and character. There are a number of interesting stores. It is hard not like the restaurants meeting all types of budgets. There are actually too many restaurants to list.

If you want to be on the water there are four restaurants: Sailors Return, Pelican Café, Mulligans and Boathouse. We have always enjoyed a casual meal at Osceola’s Café, Luna’s, Duffy’s, Black Marlin and the Riverwalk.

We have always enjoyed the Happy Hours at Sailors Return and The Gafford. The newest restaurant, Spritz City Bistro, is quite good and inviting. A smooth tasting coffee can be had at the Stuart Coffee Company. A stop in Kilwin’s Chocolates and Ice Cream is always a temptation.

Seeing the charm and ambiance of downtown Stuart brings many people to vacation and actually move into the area. Legend has it that Juan Ponce de Leon sailed up the St. Lucie, but the Indians were too fierce for him to land. The first store was actually a ship at the end of the 19th century. It is hard to imagine that one time in the early 1970’s this was a dying downtown. A lot has changed since then, but the bones are still in place.

After leaving The Island Princess we spent a few days in South Beach soaking up the atmosphere of this interesting area.
The Beach area is flat & stretches for a long way.
The sun was shining & many people were enjoying the occasion & were either swimming or lying in the sun.
The boardwalk was full of people - either coming or going or heading across the road to the many cafes & restaurants on the other side.
Men in long board shirts, women in very skimpy bikinis, people walking dogs, people begging - The Riverwalk had it all.
We loved it.
A must visit - when visiting Miami

This place is great!! If you have kids, there is a fountain that they can play at, and cool off in the hot summer days! As a couple we love to walk. In this park there are lots of big trees for a perfect shade, is right by the inter coastal, there is also a museum where you can rent for weddings and other celebrations!! It has pavilion with BBQ. Ready to use. You can take amazing pictures here. So many more activities!! Please check it out. You will love it as much as me and my husband does. People from every age group comes here. There is something for everyone to enjoy. You can even do a little bit of fishing at the pier!😃

Presentation, as well as taste, is lovely. Don't miss this cozy spot just steps from the water! Interior is brick, bar is an old fashioned delight... as are the servers! During season, a reservation would probably be a good plan for dinner. Is also open for lunch.

Riverwalk was fun. We ate at several good places in Stuart including Luna, Sailor's Return, Boathouse, and Stuart Coffee.

By Sandra S |

You can only enjoy downtown Stuart. Food, fun, beautiful water, dog friendly, people friendly! The atmosphere is uplifting, puts a smile on your face.

By Jgeptp |

Unusual at least for us,a short boardwalk along the inter coastal.
Stuart ,Fl is a quaint town.
Worth the drive to this nice town.
Florida is truly paradise.

By Tom E |

Downtown Stuart is a quiet gem. Perhaps the Sunday green market is not the largest, but mixed with a stroll on the boardwalk, little breakfast at Maria’s, ice cream at Kilwins and perhaps a glass of wine at The Gafford makes a special stroll. Add a little free live music in the bandstand and a visit we’ll worth while!

By PLANETJANET2015 |

We woke up Monday morning and walked all around the Riverwalk to the Marina. Saw more places to check out next trip. I'll definitely go back!

By Paul M |

A nice walkway along the water. Stop in at the Boathouse for a good meal or Mulligans for a quick pop and enjoy the view.

By calada02 |

It is very enjoyable to walk along the water. There are benches periodically if you choose to sit for a bit. We love watching the boats and fish jumping.

By Wibs39254 |

We joined the river walk at City Hall. Convenient parking in this area at no charge. The walk is wheelchair accessible and takes you along the river for a short while. We walked West. The signage is excellent and easy to follow. As we walked towards Kiwanis park and back towards the town center we saw interesting houses and small businesses. We enjoyed lunch on NW Osceolo St, continued our walk along the river and exited where we joined the walk. There are no bicycles or skateboards allowed. A lot of the walk is boardwalk, however no handrails in most sections. This may not be for some. Beautiful and lots to see looking out over the water.

Have relatives living a few miles away, we like walking via the old draw bridge into town and going down the riverwalk into downtown, always has lots of folks busy with activities

By cat momma |

What a great idea the town had by putting in this boardwalk. Very inviting and shows off the available river front venues.

By fairtradefl |

you have to go there with your family...clean and just lovely. Take the kids or go on a date...Very impressive!

By KankakeeMom |

Enjoyed walking down the riverwalk. Stuart is not like the other towns south of here. There is a free golf cart shuttle that will take you around town with a little tour thrown in. The parking is all free in the historic downtown area. The river walk is bordered by restaurants and bars on one side and river on other side. Definitely worth an evening stroll.

By Jan D |

Stuart has done a beautiful job expanding the boardwalk. Great place to stroll and see the river! Free and fun for all ages!
