We spent almost 3 hours on the Rogue river. It was a fun day. It can get cold on the river, so dress in layers.

The mighty Rogue River is a very popular destination for white water rafters and all other fishing and wildlife enthusiasts. It is a beautiful stretch of water going to the Pacific Ocean and has many different types of fish that spawn each season, making the Rogue River a truly unique and sacred piece of Oregon.

There are a couple sites just off the highway between Shady Cove and the Crater Lake road that are wonderful. They are an easy walk from the parking lot too for us seniors with health issues. It is a gorgeous River and interesting area.

This little town right off I-5 is a fun stop for a quick river hike or nice
lunch on either side of the river. You pass over the Rogue river and the town on I-5 so it is easy to find.

The Rouge is a beautiful river. We stayed seven nights at the Paradise lodge and were able to hike four days for 31 miles total.

All of Oregon is a great place to hang. You will love it, wherever you go. Gotta try river rafting. Also nice places near Shady cove to hang out on the river. Stop at Beck's along Hiway 62 for Ice Cream.

I went on a tour with a group and we had raft support for our luggage and for people who did not want to hike the full 40 miles. I was happy to hike the full 40 plus I did get to raft through Mule Canyon. Super fun time and I enjoyed my stay at each lodge. All lodges were excellent in their own way.
On the hike one will probably see bald eagles, wild lilacs, irises, lupine and columbine. The hike is pretty straight forward, but if you fear ledges and heights then I’m not sure this hike is for you. Rafting is always an option to explore this beautiful region.

Fishing with a guide on the middle Rogue is always an adventure whether you get fish in the boat or not. Outstanding scenery with the occasional bite is always a thrill.

The road to Bend offers many opportunities to view this beautiful Rogue River. It is a classic trip. Well worth your effort. I take this trip frequently and never fail to marvel at its beauty.

You see this river several places in Oregon. It has clear water & the surrounding shores are always scenic.

I certainly have beauty all around me and The Rogue River is just one attraction. Absolutely beautiful!

This area is one of the best wild river trips I have ever taken; the beauty is beyond measure. It is an easy kayak river and not too treacherous at least where we kayaked. Go up to Grants Pass or Shady Cove.

Whether you're on the upper Rogue Trail, in a jet boat or at the mouth in Gold Beach, the Rogue is stunning. Wildlife abounds, white water thrills, peaceful pools soothe the spirit. But beware, it's cold and it's stronger than you are. Respect her and love her and leave no trace.

The Rogue River is well known for its trout, steelhead, and salmon fishing. I spent 12 hours on the river floating with my guide, and he put me into some serious fish!

So much to do from fishing, swimming or just floating down the Rogue. Now that they took out the Savage Rapids damn above Grants Pass the river has returned to a river not a pool or lake. Nice B&B's all along the river from Medford down past Grants Pass.

Spent the better part of the day alongside this beautiful river. Unlike many areas in Oregon this river hasn't been burned. It is gorgeous and wonderful to see.

The Rogue River National Forest is a great place to visit and check out some of the B & B's right alone the river. We stayed in one and it was lots of good food and very enjoyable. We still want to go down the river on jet boat, maybe this year. Well enjoy.

Always a fabulous experience. So much fun! You've got to push off at the Lost Creek Lake hatchery and float down to Shady Cove. It's an absolute blast, and a cheap day-long activity! Just don't forget to bring plenty to drink because It's hot out in the summer!

At the suggestion of friends, we visited two spots on the Rogue River when driving from the South Rim toward Medford. One was a narrow gorge where the water carved its way through rock via rapids and waterfalls. The second was even more spectacular where the river disappeared for ~ 100 yd. into a lava tube and then came heaving out. Natural Bridge, therefore, is an underground river that leaves its otherwise normal river bed dry. We'd never seen that phenomenon before.

Our family rafts the Rouge river every year. We have done day trips mostly and have used several different rafting companies. The easiest is a 3 hour trip you can do without a guide. They just drop you off and pick you up down river at a park. Water is nice and cold and we often bring water guns to soak each other and any unlucky passerby.
Dr. M

One of the best rivers in S. OR to take a raft or tube & float down. Depending on the speed of the water you can float 2hrs to 8 hrs. Great fun & relaxing. Bring lunch & pullout for a bit. Small oats help to push away from any obstacle but not necessary.

Two weeks ago seven of us went rafting on the Rogue River, we put in at the Fish Hatchery just below the Lost Creek Lake Dam, and pulled out at Shady Cove, OR. The age group was from a teenager to an 84 year old Grandpa, there were also many children 5 and up with their parents on the river. The sun was shining ant the temperature was 84 degrees. The trip took 3 1/2 hours, with a lunch break halfway down at a friendly country store, for a BBQ hamburger. All had a great time, and will do it 1 or 2 times more this year.

On the drive to Crater Lake National Park, I stopped at one of the overlooks of the Rogue River Gorge. It is quite scenic to see the rushing water.

great experience; like riding a roller coaster, but on water; great river guides; enjoy a play at OSF in the evening

Ihave been to Crater Lake several times even sailed on it and been on Wizard Island. This is an a lake of such blue intensity it has to be seen to be beileved.S ome times even in July the road round has banks of snow at the sides

Rogue River is incredible! We did a jet boat tour on the lower Rogue, We saw countless osprey, a bald eagle perched with hungry eyes above a mother wood duck and her ducklings, a pair of mountain goats (though they had collars, so might have been semi-domesticated). The tour itself was a thrill as well...plenty of wet and wild fun! We did this for our daughter's 12th birthday. Highly Recommended!

Took a multi day rafting trip and camped on the river.....it was very beautiful, peaceful, saw wildlife.....the water was not too cold so we were able to swim without getting numb....definitely recommend doing if you have never been.

there are so many activities available around the Rogue; boats, fishing, hiking, floating down the river and more. we've done them all and keep coming back.

I just returned from four days of rafting and kayaking on the Rogue River with Momentum Rafting Company. Although not a novice camper it's been many years since I last ventured into the wilderness. Arden and Anthony, our guides, were unbelievably experienced, patient and generous with their stories and knowledge of the river. Although I thought the price was a little high when I first found out, in the end I feel it was worth so much more than it cost. I never felt threatened, uncomfortable or hungry. Oh, and what great food. How they provided such great meals in such a remote setting is beyond me. I spent far more time in the kayak than I ever expected to (3 1/2 days out of 4) mostly because our guides provided excellent and prudent advise on each leg of our trip and before each white water segment. I never wiped out even once and I am 62 with only marginal kayak experience. If you ever even thought about a rafting trip I highly recommend Momentum. It was one of the most exciting and memorably experiences of my life.

The Rogue River is fun no matter where you go from Grants Pass to Shady Cove in Southern Oregon. I just happen to think Shady Cove is dreadful! However, Grants Pass has a great restaurant right on the river, and just across the street is HellGate which has guided rafting tours that look like a lot of fun! You will get wet. Many friends have gone and enjoyed it a lot! You can also walk downtown Grants Pass and visit the Kitchen Store - it's magnificent. And go to the Bohemian for a unique time; also stop in The Twisted Cork, all the neat stores downtown, and just enjoy yourselves! It's a great weekend get-a-way there and the Rogue River makes it special.

the rogue, and the areas around Medford are the interesting things. I went wine touring in the applegate...quite a budding business..far less crowded than in napa/Sonoma..and decent wine. far less expensive, too. a new service, the hopper, will van you around for cheap. also, go to Jacksonville and walk the main street. a cool toy store there. not far away is the hamlet Ashland..go to lithia park and check out rare trees.

Nature lovers will enjoy this feature of the area. It's the major river and there are all sorts of outdoor activities around it. We took a drive and enjoyed the scenery and went to a winery.

If you come to Grants Pass in the summer then sign up for a guided raft trip down the Lower Rogue. Better yet do the ultimate trip of a 3 day trip and camp on the river beaches and stay at various resorts on the river. The wild life is everywhere...Eagles and yes Bears too. I have seen it all on the wild and senic Lower Rogue. Excellent! Try the Rafter Companies in Merlin Oregon 5 miles north of Grants Pass. They are excellent and long time experienced. You will be please.

I love the water and I never tire of going by/to the roque. it is so powerful yet calming always cool and refreshing.

Rogue River Journeys took our bachelor party of ten down the river and did an amazing job of creating an awesome experience for us all. Our guides were super cool. They told stories about the history of the area and stupid funny river guide jokes. Their knowledge of the rapids and instruction of how to navigate them was very clear and concise. Many of us had no prior experience but by the end of the trip we felt like pro's. Definitely recommend the inflatable kayaks for the rapids if you like getting wet and being closer to the water.
Our guides were also fantastic cooks and prepared excellent food for each meal. I think this may have been the biggest surprise for our party as most of the guys were expecting hot dogs and hamburgers but were instead presented with Au-he Tuna the first night and steak the second. Breakfast and lunch were also delicious with fresh healthy nutritious food.
Our trip was the week before the 4th of July and the weather was ideal. Warm, no rain or cloud cover and a big moon at night. We were able to see lots of wildlife as we floated down the river including; bald eagles, deer, and lots of turtles.
Rogue River Journeys did a bang up job of making our trip as enjoyable as humanly possible. If you're thinking about rafting the Rogue, I can't recommend them enough.

My husband and me, our 13 year old daughter and 16 year old son really enjoyed the 3 hour float trip down trip down the rogue in Rapid Pleasures self bailing raft. They made it so easy by taking up the river to just below the dam and dropping the raft in the water. There were enough little Rapids to ocasssionally get sprayed - which was great because it was hot. Bring sun screen, water, hats and lunch. There is a country store about half way where you can get snacks and drinks too. Wonderful family fun!

After reviewing flight prices daily found one for $192 on Allegiant airlines, this after not reserving seats and not checking in baggage and round trip from Los Angeles. Took on a under seat case and large purse, enough for a week. Most airlines at least $250. Not much in this town, best to go to Ashford not far away. Nice little high street spoiled by a large Gentlemans club on a corner opposite a quaint antique shop, who does the zoning in this town ? If you like to fish or hike there is plenty of it in a attractive surrounding area. I'd say Medford good for hotel stays to get to the river.

We had a fantastic family trip with our two teens aged 13 and 15 with Noahs Rogue River Rafting. We were with a really experienced guide who provided good advice and information about the area. Would recommend this a company.

Whoever named it the Rogue River understood what wild looks like. At times the river is rapid, wild and it's always breathtaking.

The river is generally cold until June or July, Aug is the best time to swim and travel the river. There are many swimming locations along the river, several parks one can stop, rest, pick-nick, bar-b-q if caring supplies in a large enough craft to hold coolers. I highly recommend running the Rogue river

This has to be the most beautiful place I have visited. Just being there and seeing it is so impressive. It's like looking at a beautiful portrait.

One of the great outdoor playgrounds in southern Oregon! This time for me was a 4 day fishing trip from Galise out to gold beach (almost). You see kayaks, camping, large variety of wildlife, just a great option no matter what you like to do outdoors

We took the Hells Canyon boat ride. It was lots of fun & we viewed the site of old movies along the way; also saw wildlife.

Seriously, this river is beautiful. Huge green trees all around, so many wonderful wildlife to see, the Water is brisk! Beware!

We visit often! Fishing is amazing! Hubby caught a 22 lbs salmon the other day. Grilled most of it and smoked the rest. So yummy! Have fun!

Natural, clean, wild river. Great for rafting, swimming, fishing, picnicing nearby.

The Rogue River area was so beautiful!!! Driving along the highway and crossing the river was so relaxing!! The river looked so clean and refreshing with its emerald green color. We were fortunate on our journey that we saw where the body of water met the Pacific Ocean. The flora and fauna along the highway was so interesting... be prepared to stop for a special Kodak moment!!! Great picnic area!!

Top spot for water sports enthusiasts....wild and scenic area requires permits for kayak/raft trip, but also know for fishing (Zane Gray), daytrip rafting and kayaking. Jet Boat trips out of Grants Pass or Gold Beach and fun but noisey. Parks for camping or just viewing.

The wild and scenic rogue is hands down the most beautiful river in the northwest. Class II - IV+, with Scenery, wildlife, and isolation.

I have fished it and take my friends rafting, always a blast!! If you have never rafted, you don't know what you are missing.
If you prefer, there are commercial jet boats out of Grants Pass, Or.

We went on a white water rafting tour with our children (ages 12, 9, and 6). I was a bit nervous considering we have never done anything like this before. We stayed on the rapids level 1 & 2 portion of the river. It was a great experience and fun for all of us. It was nice to finally find something that we could all do together.
We went with a company called the Rogue Klamath River Adventure. We would highly recommend this company. The guides were great and made the day really special. We also stopped on the river for a snack. The kids loved it. A day we will not forget!

I went on a multi-day rafting trip with my 82-year old mother and we both had a fantastic time. No connectivity meant no bothering with email or texts from work, beautiful scenery to appreciate meant a chance to relax and unwind, moderate white-water meant rafting fun, but also safety for my Mom with guides who knew the river well. You can see the river without paying a fee, but if you plan to run the whitewater, either know what you are doing, or pay someone who does. Truly incredible scenery. I would go back in a heart-beat.

There is so much to see and do: Sightseeing on the upper Rogue(Headwaters, Natural Bridge); kayaking on the middle Rogue (rentals in Shady Cove): jet boat trips in Grants Pass; Wild and scenic (commercial) rafting trips down the lower Rogue, and salmon fishing at Gold Beach on the coast. An entire summers worth of fun for the family.

We took our Grand-kids on the jet boats out of Grants Pass down the Rogue River. They loved it. The driver/guide is knowledgeable and kept us informed all the way. We had three boats go out that day and we played cat and mouse most of the time.
Be prepared to get wet. Getting wet is the name of the game on the River and we were ambushed by other boaters along the way using water cannons.

Legendary sights all along the river. Hike along the trail where the river begins near Prospect; view the falls and, further down, the deep chasm of rushing river.

Wheel of drafting on the Rogue River on a Monday morning when there were very few others. The class 2 to class 4 Rapids were fun especially with our excellent guide. We recommend orange torpedo tour group.

We are not really "river" people, as we don't swim, raft, or inner tube down bodies of water--but we did want to see and hike along the Rogue River--here is what we found: We stayed at a motel in Medford for three nights and drove up Highway (North) 62 out of town, into the Rogue River/Siskiyou National forest. Along the way, we stopped at several of the roadside parks and enjoyed viewing the Rogue River--right there, riverside! We also had a great time at the big Casey (?) fish hatchery along the route--a must see--so spectacular and we felt like kids, feeding the growing salmon--with nearly 2 million salmon raised here! This was truly one of the biggest fish hatcheries we have ever seen. We then traveled to the north of Lost Creek Reservoir, just by the fish hatchery. We traveled into the National Forest and saw Rogue River Gorge--spectacular pullout and well-marked--a must-see. We also pulled into the little town of Mill Creek and south of there, stopped to see Mill Creek Falls, Barr Falls, and Avenue of the Giant Boulders--all spectacular sights, with short hiking trails, where you can see the might of the Rogue river up close and personal. On the way back into Medford, we detoured onto Highway Route 234--heading towards the small town of Gold Hill. Near this town, along the highway, there are 3 "Gold Nugget Pullouts"--places with parking lots where you can pull over to view the Rogue River. Each is beautiful and there are hiking trails along the river. The 1st pullout is easy to miss and yet it is the most spectacular. It is almost directly at the sign that alerts you to a pull out down the road! Anyway, we loved the Rogue River--wish that Medford would do more with their tourist information to publicize this--as for finding the tourist information center--this is kind of a big joke. Interstate signs keep telling you it's there--yet, good luck in finding it!

Many spots to get in and out. River comes down the Rogue River Valley from Crater Lake, so its a pretty drive if you go to the park on this road, Crater Lake Drive.

I would recommend to all those who like nature. I would like to come back again and again. It is free to the public.

From family fun to white water danger, the rogue is a beautiful river. There's large steelhead and salmon for fishers and jet boat rides through Hell's Canyon. Must be seen to really appreciate.

I live on the California coast but love to go inland to camp on the Rogue River, There is a great Oregon State park called Valley of the Rogue off of I-5 that has a few miles of walking/biking trails, and has fun yurts to camp in. Then there are several Josephine County parks that have camping on the river, some with yurts available. The county parks are not as nice as the state park, but if you are into camping and nature they are a great value. Southern Oregon is a great place to get outside, there is a lot to do for all ages and abilities. Medford and Grants Pass are super places to visit, you really need a month to see even half of it!

Rogue River is beautiful! A must see in Oregon. Lots of places to access the river. Kayakers, tubers, picnics, fishing.....a great place to spend a hot day!

my hubby loves to catch and release on the rogue. it's fun for anglers and nature lovers alike. So pretty it's worth the 5 hour drive from our place.

A boat ride that ranges from calm and serene to panic fed excitement. My wife and I chose to take a tour-guided excursion on the Rogue River and was glad we did. OK, you get hot (hey, it's Summer) and you get wet (helps with the heat) but it rivals the rafting I did several years back on the Colorado River. Recommend for the whole family!

Walking to, and around, the Rogue River, is very special. It is clean and the water is clear. The trees, and other beautiful flora, as well as the river rocks are magnificent. You will want to keep walking, and checking out around every bush and bend.

I like how clean the river looks when it's frozen over but it's even more spectacular to watch it as it melts.

We drove along it for a long time. Very pretty and wild. The road next to it demands constant attention but the views are worth it. We will fish or do a jet boat in the next few days.

We have rafted from the dam to Shady cove in rental rafts many times - It's always a fun trip if it is 90 degrees or hotter. We love the trip on weekdays to avoid crowds.
Lucky us - we have friends with extra inflatable kayaks so we can do the stretch from Shady Cove to Dodge Bridge & really avoid the crowds.
Just get on the River!

We stopped at three points near Union Creek to hike and enjoy the Rogue River. Excellent signage at each stop. No litter. No charge. Restrooms.
We loved the water disappearing into the lava tube. The rushing tumbling falls.. Sheer beauty. This may be ho-hum to Oregonians but to Californians, it is magnificent. A highlight of our trip.

When you are on your way to Crater Lake, take the time to explore the Rogue River area. It has several small hikes.

You can't really go wrong. It doesn't matter where you visit along the Rogue River...you will be sure to find abundant wildlife and greenery. Destination on its own.

From 1-5 take the Tiller Trail Hwy. to the Crater Lake Hwy. You will see so much of the back country. There are so many places to stop. On the Umpqua River there is a rock slick that you slide on that shoots you under the water from a water fall. Then you can sit behind the waterfall. Close to that area is where they have the Pow Wow. Rivers and views will amaze you!! A tip take time driving on the road.

The Rogue River is not really *in* Crater Lake NP, but it runs alongside Highway 62.
There are several places to stop and have a picnic or take a short walk. It's a lovely area.
Farther down, there are jet boats out of Grants Pass that tour the river.

If you visit the Rogue Valley during the summer you must head up to Shady Cove for the best rafting in Oregon. They drive you up to the Dam and pick you up at the bridge in town when you are done. The float is about 4 hours.

We did a three day trip with Noahs River Adventures, stayed in wonderful rustic lodges along the way and learned so much about the area. This is a family run business that I would highly recommend for their wonderful knowledge of the river.

Just how could anyone not enjoy this trip. The fun is a total experience with you boat Host a big part of the experience he does things with that boat you won't quite ever forget. I am not telling either. You need to experience it yourself.

Lots of place to access the river in the Rogue Valley. It is a great place to fish or raft or swim. Don't miss it.

We did the hells gate jet boats while visiting Southern Oregon and had an amazing time! The driver was fantastic and narrated everything wonderfully. The dinner was great and we got to see all sorts of wildlife, including beaver and bald eagle. Highly recommend for a fun filled afternoon!

Love the way the river travels through the various towns. Very peaceful and beautiful to picnic by the river, especially as the season begins to change into Fall.

We followed a gravel road right along the river. There were a lot of people out fishing and just floating down the river enjoying the sunshine.

Family one day trip in individual kayaks. Excellent time with good guides. Only problem was the sunburn. Would do it again with these people.

The gorge is impressive in its depth. During our visit, the water level was low. We were amazed with the beauty of this area.

Nearly a perfect river. Picnicking, kayaking, rafting, fishing, and hiking. Something for nearly everyone. Indian artifacts scattered along the river bank. Camping is also great.

We are blessed to live right on the Rogue River in Shady Cove. It has the best salmon, steelhead and trout fishing!!! Rafting is fabulous!!!! Come give us a try!!!

Do the Hellsgate excursions!! 18 miles down and 18 miles back on the rogue river in a aluminum boat. best trip ever!!!!! great guide. his name was johnny. great guide.

The Rogue River is pretty. The town of " Rogue River" is a cute little town, very friendly people, The Park, by I5 is a cute little park, on the River.

I have kayaked the wilderness section of the Rogue many times. It is a scenic trip with class 2 and class 3 rapids with 2 class four sections. The wildlife is abundant, and the scenery is excellent. I have gone once with a private party and several times with companies who guide rafts and kayaks down the river. It is a great experience.

A nice variety of water to fish for trout, steelhead, and salmon. Guides are available as requested. Fishing is especially gratifying in the late summer and fall. The only downside is the number of private properties on the Rogue River that are not available for fishing entrance into the River. The real beauty is the head waters that come off the slopes of Crater Lake. The area also offers opportunities for hiking and picnicking.

19-35 degrees and loving it. Get some snow shoes it was so worth it. Walked about 3-4 mils. Bring sun screen and glasses, snow was really bright.

The rafting company was really great, as is Morrison's Lodge. We did the hike / raft option 4-day trip. Amazing. But don't hike in the middle of the summer; it's too hot.

We hiked a short in and out from foster bar trailhead into paradise lodge and back, very hot, little water, grueling up hills, a lot of poison oak, snakes and the occasional black bear. This is not a trip for beginners. Sleeping under the stars along the bank was cool.

Rafting, hiking and exploring all good. The drive along the river is beautiful, rafts for rent on upper, guided trips with Noah are great.

6 of us spent 4 days and 3 nights hiking, rafting and kayaking. The different climate changes along the trail were remarkable. Highly recommend it!

so beautiful and scenic. great for rafting and kayaking. wish the houses were not so close to the river in some places.

Rogue River is not only great fishing, but excellent when you take the Hellgate Canyon river trip stopping off for a family style meal at the beautiful lodge. Hang on to your seat though, as they love to spin the boat around in the river. Most people love it and scream for more excitement, but it's a bit unnerving if you're not a strong swimmer. Love the trip though, and have taken it many times as it's a wonderful, local excursion for visiting friends and family.

One of the most beautiful lakes in the world. It is one of the bluest lakes in the world. The beauty takes your breath away. A must for everyone to see.

Our family has gone with RRJ for the last 5 out of 6 yrs and this company and staff make this trip an incredible experience every year. A great trip for family and friends or any individual. I have rafted numerous rivers throughout the west and these folks do it right.

Rented a kayak and floated down the river with a group of friends. Beautiful country, amazing ride, great cliff jumping into the river, a memorable trip for sure. Also appreciated the Cougar Whistle we received at the rental place. Still have it to this day!

There are many ways to enjoy the river - jet boats, fishings, scenic drives, hiking, you name it. There is a great drive along the river to Crater Lake and also Hwy 99 skirts the river out of Grants Pass. One of my all time favorite areas.

We took a drive from crater lake to grants pass, stopping along the way at points of interest, there are fish hatcheries, campsites antique stores, malls, museums, some of the highlights are rafting the Rogue, and a park on the river in Grants Pass, I believe its called River Park? anyway. it always has something going on, car shows, bike shows, live music, cultural shows, art, there is a rose garden a gazebo, a place to swim, playground restrooms. Its right across the bridge from Hellgate jet boat excursion (I gave a review for that too) I love making drives like this, you never know what you'll find, there is even frisbee golf?

We had so much fun. Would do it again Not a lot to do up here but
this was great. Had a great meal up river but can't remember the name of the place now.

Went on one of the speed boat tours of the Rogue river. Saw some beautiful sceenery and an abundance of wildlife (including deer, Black Bear, and Eagles.) Guide was humorous and knowledgeable. Fun afternoon.

Beautiful scenery and wildlife abound on this river that is good for fishing, floating, and also rafting and jet-boat rides.

Just went down the Lower Rogue last weekend. Have been rafting it for over 30 years. Often we go in October, as the weather is sunny but cooler and many fewer people! No problem finding campsites! Someone had left small pumpkins on rocks all the way to Graves Creek- such fun! Some of the best rafting in Oregon!

I think I fell in love with the Rogue River. Our motel in Shady Cove was situated on it though I didn't have a river room. You see it a lot driving to Crater Lake and then to Medford. We also visited the Barr Creek Falls, Mill Creek Falls and Avenue of the Boulders near Prospect and the Rogue River Gorge Overlook in Union Creek. I frankly liked the Rogue River better than Crater Lake. The river is beautiful. It's relaxing. I'd like more time to spend on it.

We love going down the river in our raft and kayaks. Lots of white water for the experienced as well as peaceful areas for chillin.

It was well worth the money spent to take the Mail Boats .. It was fun, exciting and interesting .. beautiful scenery and wild animals there to greet you as you go by, and if you get a great driver he will do some 360's to excite you even more .. Take the kids if they like to sit still while the boat is moving .. and the Dinner trip was fantastic .. Good foot and company ..

A most beautiful experience driving along the Rogue River with camping, hiking and fascinating flora and fauna. Keep in mind if you hike to see waterfalls that the "easy" label on the brochure doesn't really mean "easy." We tried a moderate hike to see Whitaker Falls and it's very steep and takes some scramble up some rocky steps in parts. Still, lots to see just from the road. Plenty of rapids, lakes and tiny little villages to explore.

Spent a great time with my family going around the lake to its different sites. Interesting video introduction at the ranger station. Cleanest and clearest fresh water lake in the world.

So beautiful! Loved watching the canoes floating by. Lost of fisherman along the shores. We were in Shady Cove.

I live 500 miles away, and drive to Shady Cove just to raft the Rogue River.
I have been rafting this river for about 20 years now. Regrettably, we only get down here every other year or so, but it sure is fun. My whole family has fond memories of this river.
This trip we used 'Raft the Rogue Raft Rentals' in Shady Cove. I recommend these guys, as you get a cooler with ice; water cannon, along with life jackets and paddles. Good guys, albeit a bit confused about their own policies.
Rafting the Rogue, usually a 2 1/2 hour venture took 4 hours this trip due to minimal water flow from this dam fed river. That said, it was a relaxing and enjoyable.
You can't beat the scenery. If you get hot, just dive right in one of the many slow stretches between the rapids.
Enjoy!

We had an excellent time on the jet boat rides! Our driver made the experience educational and fun! Definitely a worthwhile experience.

The country side is amazingly beautiful full of life and the river is top notch for rafting. This place makes me happy!

We followed the rogue river on OR-62 from Shady Cove, OR to Crater Lake National Forest. It skipped and flowed over rocks in some places and opened up into a wide thoroughfare for boaters. It was beautiful as it changed and went underground then came up again. There is all kinds of camping along it in State Parks and RV parks. The motel we stayed at had a walking path along it. Very nice.

The Rogue River is the life blood of the Rogue Valley. Be at winter or spring or summer or fall you will always find something to do on or near the Rogue River. Fishing for steelhead or salmon or just a hike next to the river or a swim in the heat of the summer the Rogue River is a favorite place for many.

The Rogue River begins as a wild and scenic river within Crater Lake National Park, becomes a favorite fishing stream on its way down to the Rogue Valley where it is a tame city river, then becomes wild and scenic again through the Klamath Mountains until it ends as a great salmon fishing bay in Gold Beach.
It's all good, but what I'm recommending today are two very scenic trails at Union Creek, just below Crater Lake. The first is the Rogue River Gorge, on the north end of Union Creek. A paved path takes you along the very narrow 500-foot long gorge, which you could almost jump across were it not for the fences and the possibility of certain death should you end up in the frothing gorge.
The second trail is a few miles south of Union Creek and a couple of miles on a paved side road into the forest. A longer trail leads to viewpoints along the Rogue at Natural Bridge where the river passes in and out of lava tubes.
Both sites are beautiful and literally give you a breath of cool air on a hot summer day.

An amazing week of kayaking, wildlife sightings, starry skies. Looking forward to another visit in the future.

On the trip to Crater Lake came back through Grants Pass and had booked the dinner Rogue River excursion which leaves at 3:15 PM and returns around 7:30. The ride is fabulous and the dinner, which I expected to be just fair was also great! The dinner setting is a lodge down stream at the turnaround point and the complete BBQ is served outside on the expansive patio in the midst of a gorgeous forest setting. The meal was served family style at tables for 12 and included: relish tray, salad, biscuits, cornbread, corn, BBQ chicken and ribs, marion berry cobbler and whipped cream with pitchers of beer, iced tea, lemonade, water and caraffes of white wine. After dinner you walk down to the boats and head home for another exciting and wet journey down the Rogue River. Managed to see deer, Osprey and nest, an eagle pair, kingfishers and a 25lb salmon that had just been caught! Would do it again in a heartbeat!

This river is a treasure for the Southern Oregon area. I am very happy that there are many efforts by local agencies and support organizations to keep this river clean and keep it accessible for human use while encouraging all the native species to thrive.

Staying right on the river. It is beautiful. I love watching the water. We stayed in a campground right on the river -- Riverpark RV resort. Great family place.

Great river for rafting, tubing, fishing or just dipping. Great on a hot summer day, the water and air were fresh and clean, the rapids were level 3/4 and the fish are big and plentiful....

my GAWD: The rapids! Laughing waters! I could die happy on rapids!

We passed through this area on a long day of thru-driving without time to explore many of the sights, but decided to make a stop and pull over at the Rogue River Gorge interpretive site on the Crater Lake highway (62) to stretch our legs and relieve the dog. We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful scenery and nicely maintained paved trail.
It's a short and shady walk up the river to the trail's end where there's a small waterfall cascading through a series of pools. There are several overlooks on the way with nice views of carved-out basalt columns and fern grottos. Interpretive signs lend insight to the natural and cultural history of the forest. It's a steep drop into the gorge, so the entire trail is fenced. There's no access for swimming here.
Just a short way down the highway is a small cluster of commercial buildings that we didn't stop at, but did notice an inviting-looking place with a sign that said Ice Cream.

There are lots of access point to this river and you just have to find one. Stay at a hotel, camp out out just hang out for lunch it is a good place to take a break from the road and get the kids ready for more travel.

We've rafted and jet boated the Rogue from Gold Beach on the coast up river and from Grants Pass down river. When the water's up, as it should be this year, the Rogue is a wonderful pl;ace to take the family for a fun safe experience. Romance can also be had. Also, the food and wine ain't bad either. If you do the jet boats, expect to get wet. What fun!!

It was an awesome experience! Saw birds, turtles, blue herons and beautiful scenery. Our guides from Noah;s were wonderful!

The Rogue River has it all for sightseers, hikers, fisher persons, rafters, kayakers, bird watchers, or whatever. Crossed by many public and private roads and paralleled by trails along a good part of its 215 mile length, it offers something special for everyone. There are many spots where with just a minimum of imagination one can go on an historical adventure, seeing a panorama much as Jedediah Smith saw in the 1820s. Ride the jet boats, paddle the raft, fish from the drift boat, or just go to any place on the riverbank and watch and listen to the river roll by. Most of these activities are free! Not from a television screen but up close and personal.

You'll love it. So many different parts. Some favorites are near the ocean, wild and scenic area, Touvelle island and park, up by Shady Cove…all wonderful.

This river has so much to offer . There are so many trails and places to stop off. Whether you like hiking or a family picnic, the rogue is for you. Stop off at doge bridge, Touvelle (near White city) for a nice stroll. The parks are well maintained.

If you haven't either river rafted the Rouge River before or drifted a beautiful river
before, you have truly missed out on one of the greatest excitements in life. The
water , smells on the river, wild life , flowers galore, AND the rapids (mostly class
2's and 3's) , you have not lived. Give your coming summer a few new memories
with the family ,or your special mate.ENJOY!!

What else can I say? Crater Lake National Park is amazingly beautiful. Make sure to get out and look as often as possible. Never been on the boat trip, but I plan to in the future, now that I'm in better shape to make the hike back up.

The Rogue River was my dream spot until I moved here 6 years ago. Now, I float it, I fish it and I watch it change. It is the experience of a life time. The summer flows are tame as compared to the high water of the winter. If you don't know the river go with a Pro the first time,

We were part of a 17 customer, 5 guide, 4day/3 night trip on Rogue River with Northwest Rafting (aka Echo). Nothing but praise ! The scenery was beautiful, everything from deep canyons and whitewater to flat, quiet sections. The guides were knowledgeable and fun, and their teamwork was exemplary. The company provides tents, sleeping bags, and mats, and all were excellent quality. Food was plentiful and tasted great. Among our group were several who aren't exactly into camping, but they were comfortable and happy for the entire trip. We had various ways down the river and moved between duckies paddled alone, big raft with quide and several customers rowing, or could simply sit on the equipment rafts and let the guide do the work. Most of us alternated between the various choices. I have no negatives to report. Suggestions: if you're in the hot/sunny months, bring more than one hat. I had a large-brimmed hat but would have also liked to switch into a cap or a visor sometimes. If your post-trip destination is west, do take advantage of the Galice Resort's shuttle option, well worth the money in exchange for saving tons of time. Do stay close by the river the night before you leave - we were very happy with Galice Resort cabin and loved eating dinner and breakfast on their big deck.

Boundary Springs, inside Crater Lake National Park is the headwaters of this beautiful river. I could get in a lot of trouble telling "outsiders" just how wonderful this river is. Locals have tried to keep quiet about secret fishing spots, hidden campsites, gold mines, waterfalls, and the tree lined river boasting some of the finest scenery in the world.
I've hiked the upper trail from the springs down to Lost Creek reservoir. I've also hiked the "wild and scenic" trail from Graves Creek to Agness, twice.
This river gives a person everything they may be looking for in a river. World class fishing for trout, salmon and steelhead. Rafting, kayaking, drift fishing, hiking, camping, bird watching, sightseeing, or just checking out the plants and wildlife along it's banks.
From the springs high in the Cascades to Gold Beach at the Pacific Ocean, the Rogue River is the most beautiful river in the world.
I've spent countless days fishing this river. I've caught huge salmon and steelhead, fresh from the Pacific. I've watched herds of deer and elk come to drink from it's clean waters. I've seen bears catching fish from the water, and I've seen the amazing Kingfisher (bird) dive for fish from the large trees along the banks of the Rogue. Every time we are in the area we always check out the beautiful waters of the mighty Rogue River.

The river is as clean as a river can get, the whole river was clean and just plain beautiful. Rafting, jet boats, just playing in the water at the appropriate places are just amazing!
Indian Mary Park is nice for camping, kids, and the river! State Park, you need to ho

So many places to go along this river, so many activities. Jet Boats tour is interesting and fun. Boating, rafting, fishing, swimming, wildlife, it's got it all.

Weather its rapid running or a quite picnic this river has it all. A wild and scenic river. Don't forget the Jet Boat rides or the Gorge great salmon fishing and Trout too.

The Rogue River is one of the most beautiful rivers I've seen. The drive is beautiful and worth the trip. Excellent fishing and many spots for fun in the sun.

I have been living on the rogue since i was a baby. I have rafted too many times to count and on many types of floating devices (some going flat....lol). I have caught many salmon an had many family picnics along the rogue river from where the rogue river starts to gold beach. My life would not have been complete without the rogue river in it plus all the stories from older family an there love for the rogue

My experience was good, it was funny and not scary to do the rafting. But I was very cold, but it was a rainy day so I think this was something that did not complete my score on this place. But in the end it was a good experience! Suites family and friends in all ages.

Forested nature walk right off the Hwy in Union Creek. Next to a great ice cream parlor - Becky's. A great 2-3 hr. excursion.

This river has a rich history, both natural and war.
Must visit. and stay in cabins and small town to get ultimate experience.

Great time on the upper section to Graves Creek for day trips and the wild section from Graves Creek to Agnes for 4 day trips.

Simply beautiful! A wonder to behold! Steep hike down to a boat landing to cross the lake to Wizard Island, but remember you have to climb back up. Less fit folks can take the rim drive or just stand there and enjoy the beauty.

Really didn't spend too much time by the river other than having lunch and taking some pictures. Right on the way to Crater Lake National Park. Very nice area though.

It's big, it's beautiful and, in places, it's wild. I love this river. There are so many places you can enjoy it: River rafting, picnicking beside it, kayaking, hiking above and beside it. So gorgeous. It is one of the reasons I moved to the Medford-Ashland area.

The river starts on Hwy 62 a little more than an hours drive from I-5. The best views of its beginning are past Becky's pies. Pull off into one of the camp grounds to get a great view of the gorge. There are wonderful views from all of the paths along the edge. Then travel down river past Becky's to the Natural Bridge turnout to the right. Hike a short distance from the parking lot onto some wonderful of the river as it races through a lava flow. To continue your journey of the river, pull into Shady Cove, a little town you passed on the way up and rent a raft. They are all reasonable and will take you up to the fish hatchery where you will begin your float down the river for about 3 1/2 hours. Be ready for some excitement as you shoot some small rapids. Make sure you stay to the right and get ready to pull out as you pass the major bridge as you enter Shady Cove. If you missed the boat ramp you will have a long ride before the next pull out. Good luck and bring lots of sun screen.

First, I would like to note that the Rogue River Gorge is not really located in Crater Lake area but nearby in Prospect Oregon. Not sure why the river and gorge are listed together with Crater Lake reviews. The Rogue River Gorge is an interpretive area with 1/2 mile paved trail that takes you to different view points to see the river channeled through the narrow gorge. There are sign boards to explain how the gorge was created. The scenery is so beautiful and the river is quite powerful in places. When you get to the top of the gorge the river is roaring and churning into the channel with small waterfalls. It is really a thrill to see, especially in the springtime. This can be a fairly quick visit, although I would recommend following the whole loop trail to see the gorge. A refreshing stop!

There are 2 places well worth stopping on your way to/from Crater Lake. Rogue River Gorge is a lava formation which the Rogue River churns through--it is unique. The area is well signed and has good paths/view points. Natural Bridge is just down the road where the river runs underneath some of the lava. There is a well built path and man-made bridge to the opposite side so you can explore the river and countryside.

Sooo much go do and see along the Rogue River. Rafting is always fun. Lots of parks, hiking trails, places to picnic, fish. You can have a crazy fast fun day or a relaxing time it all depends on where on the river you go. Highly recommend the gorge by Union Creek and the Natural Bridge. At the Natural Bridge the entire river flows underground through a lava tube. Worth the little side trip to see.

the rogue river is massive and beautiful, no dislikes, very pleasing and soothing to look at. Always flowing briskly.

The Rogue River meanders through a long way through Oregon. Along the way, there are scenic areas where you can stop and get out of the car and stretch your legs and use the toilets and walk along the river and enjoy the sights. I was driving to Crater Lake up from Medford and the road through the forests of tall pines was magnificent. I stopped along the Rogue River just opposite the Union Creek cabins in prospect and there was a fence lined walkway from which you could gaze down at the river and the waterfalls below. It would be s hame if someone did not know this was there and simply drove through without stopping.

The Rogue has something for everyone and all levels. Hiking the Rogue on north and south sides is great. The south offers an easy hike from wolf creek to Rainey Falls. The North offers 44 miles of intermediate-skill trail. Floating the upper Rgoue from Shady Cove is easy, as is the Grants Pass Area. Class 3-5 whitewater awaits the seasoned and/or permitted boater. Lovely scenery...some "wild and scenic" designated runs.

The Rogue River covers a lot of terrain from mountains through valleys into canyons before hitting the ocean. There are incredible places to experience this river at either end, but the middle portion through the valley is pretty non-descript.

We love camping and floating the rogue! Such a great way to eacape the summer heat. Great for friends and family of any age...kids love it! An ongoing tradition!

Small town, nice location, not much there. LOCATED ON THE ROGUE RIVER, Annual Rooster Crow Contest is it's claim to fame

I've rafted down the Wild and Scenic of the lower Rogue River for the last 30 years. Not every year, maybe every 3-4 years, so I have come to know this trip well. One thing I can guarantee you, it will never get old. It is a pure vacation, and a true getaway from the humdrum of day to day life we have. I would highly recommend having a guide or experienced pal who knows the river. You need to know where to pull over for the best camp sites, with clean, clear delightful swimming and bathing creeks running alon side, and where to pull over for the numerous attractions like Zane Grey's cabin, Sports Illustrated Rock(50 foot jump), the rock slide, the various lodges to stop at for a cold beer, or iced tea, and how to negotiate the intricacies of the myriads of rapids you get to have the excitement of experiencing. Really, I watched a guy go through all of them on an inner tube one year, so don't be alarmed, but there is nothing like the excitement of negotiating Mule Creek Canyon, with the percolating coffee pot, followed shortly after by Blossom Bar and the picket fence, which has snared and doomed many a raft through the years. Last year, my boat chose not to stop and scout this rapid. We were through in 5 minutes, with just a short hangup and slide off the picket fence. The rest of our group (4 more boats), chose to stop and scout, and spent the better part of an hour getting up the nerve to to take the run. Talk about an adrenaline high.

Had heard lots of good comments about the Rogue River, but none of them compared to seeing it in person. This river is surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery anywhere in the world! And that water is crystal clear!

We did an all day raft tour that included two inflatable kayaks. This is a pretty tame and mellow raft ride but a great first choice to warm your kids up for harder rapids later in Oregon (hint - the Umpqua River in Oregon is the KING!). The inflatable kayaks offer a great option to jump on and off the raft = with your family taking turns.

I provide a SMOKEY BEAR Fire Prevention information station in my waiting room every summer.. The Rogue River USFS and BLM regional staff are always helpful and enthusiastic about their work and the resources available through their office. Its a quick stop that can reveal off the beaten path adventures for both visitors and locals in Southern Oregon.

This place is nice and close to everything.Hiking, water sports, shopping, food, parks, the mall, theater, concerts.rogue valley has it all.bring a bike and numerous places to ride, like you can hit the bike path and go to central point or opposite direction go to Ashland.

Following the Rogue River and stopping at all the pull-offs for short little hikes was really fun. You can follow the Rogue gorge pretty far through the Oregon wilderness with some picturesque downs along the way.

The area is gorgeous. The colors are breath taking. It was not crowded so we stopped and took our time while looking around.

We have often taken the guided boat trip on the Rogue River in the summer, leaving from Grants Pass, OR. Lovely scenery, often a view of wildlife, and something different to do with guests. The guides are often fun, spinning the boat around to the enjoyment of everyone. Tip: don't sit in the front 2 rows or on the outside if you don't want to get wet! Go prepared with dry clothes in the car, just in case. You can also stop along the way for a catered lunch or dinner, which adds to the trip, as you get to talk to the other people and share experiences.

Rogue River provides many views of beautiful scenery, and is very peaceful and relaxing whether just strolling along or watching one of the many fishermen trying to make a catch.
A good place to just sit back and enjoy nature!

Can't think of a better place to live. Great for fishing and rafting. We enjoy watching the Canadian geese and all their many interesting behaviors. Fun to see the goslings in the spring. Once in a while we see the playful river otter and the busy muskrats.
Valley of the Rogue State Park is a great place to stay or enjoy a beautiful walk along the river.

Enjoyed watching the boaters out on the river. Lots of wild life around, spent the day taking photos and enjoying nature.

I and my wife just finished 6 months as caretakers for BLM at the National Historic Rogue River Ranch. This is must see location, either hike in, drive in or raft in to this unique place. Be sure and stop at either Medford BLM offices, Grants Pass offices or in the summer the Rand Visitors Center near Galice, Oregon. Get direction and all the information before starting the hike or drive. The ranch is in a remote canyon with no services. Come prepared.

After a long boring dry winter in California this is the first place I stop , well really the second when returning to Oregon for the spring and summer , I also stop here dragging my feet back to California , at times of the year when the fish are running it can be a very busy place , with the cool river water a great place to cool off on a hot afternoon , lots of wildlife to observe if you are patient, such as the small red headed woodpecker that I saw there and of top of Mt Siskiyou which I also love to linger awhile at the rest area there on the I-5 , it is packed with deer and fox at night that are not very shy to say the least . I have even caught small snakes near or in the river , they are harmless for those squeamish ones out there

Nice short paved hikes with interpretive signage. Great views of the rapids and lava tubes that the river flows through. There is more than one stop, all are worth stopping at.

Families will enjoy rafting the river from Lost Creek Dam to Shady Cove--mostly little riffles and one (barely) class II rapid. As always, life jackets recommended. Many raft businesses in Shady Cove with pickup and return services. Wonderful experiences. Can pull over many places and eat your picnic lunch--just pack out what you bring in.

Before getting to Crater Lake, stop off at the Rogue River! Lower the river is for floating but in the National Park you can see why it got it’s name! Scenic hiking with paved paths.

Booked through Morrison's Lodge - spectacular scenery, rustic accommodations but lovely, delicious food. It was fabulous!

We had our first adventure with white water rafting, and it was a blast! Our guide, Thorn, was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable about not only rafting, but also local history. We felt completely safe with his directions and guidance.
We took the half day trip, which included all gear, transportation, a snack, and pictures. The pictures were great and included in the price, all emailed to us as we checked out.
Wish we would have booked the full day trip, but this was perfect for our first time. We will definitely book another rafting trip again.

An absolutely first-rate company, and a first-rate trip! My wife, kids (15 & 12 years old) and I rafted the wild & scenic (no roads) section of the Rogue River with Rogue River Outfitters this past July, and we couldn't have asked for better/nicer guides, or a more fun trip! Craig and Tina Hughson own the company (Craig bought it from his dad, Denny, who founded the company in 1966) and are some of the nicest people we've had the pleasure to work with. Tina prepared fabulous fresh food (a wide variety of salads, homemade cakes and cookies, etc.) and Craig and his guides cooked delectable fried chicken, french toast, eggs, bacon, etc. while we were on the river. My kids (who I think are fussy eaters) still rave about the food, and the portions were more than anyone could possibly eat.
The river is beautiful. We saw osprey, bald eagles, and very few people outside of our group. The rapids are mostly class III (one or two IVs), but the thrill factor was enhanced by the option of running them in inflatable one-person self-bailing kayaks. We also had multiple stops along the way for cliff jumping into deep calm sections of the river, a short hike up a side creek to a natural water slide, and a magical (though a bit chilly) swim/float through the narrow Mule Creek Canyon section of the river.
The camping was effortless (on our part, at least! -- some of Craig's guides had gone ahead of us with the baggage raft and set up tents with plush inflatable mattresses, lounge chairs by the river, etc.)
We would highly recommend this trip to people who enjoy beautiful scenery and chilling on a river (with white water and cliff jumping in between), but like being pampered with good food and friendly, fun guides to do the hard work.

From stories of Clark Gable fishing on the Rogue River to the big and little raft trips and jet boat trips I've had on the Rogue, this river is one of my favorites. Tons of fishing guides to be had if that is your passion and plenty of parks from Lost Creek Lake to the Pacific Ocean. A whole vacation in itself.

Got a chance to float the Rogue on a drift boat. The fishing was fantastic as was the scenery.

Spectaclular. Even in winter . Good fishing! Can float some areas of River,

Backpacked the Rogue River Trail, 40 miles 4 days, great trail, well maintained, campsites hard to find the third night. Easy enough for two 60 year olds without a guide. Ist half of trail more marked than the 2nd, two different forest areas. Plenty of water, scenic and non crowded

The Rogue river is a great place to visit. We love every part of it above Prospect. There is Natural Bridge, Takeilma Gorge, Rogue River Gorge and Hwy Falls among many other places to visit. The trails along the river are peaceful and the hikes are easy.

It is well worth your time to see this river and its waterfalls and canyons. The state (? or the national park service) has done a fantastic job of making easy access to many areas of the river. Especially good s the Rogue River Canyon near Crater Lake with its many viewpoints.

or many years I have loved to travel different parts of the Rogue from Gold Beach to the Starting places in the National Forest and anywhere in between. I love to fish and take photos along with rafting From Cole Rivers Hatchery to Foster Bar and beyond.

The Rogue is one of those special places on earth. Take some time to raft or kayak the different sections. The jet boat tour is fun for tourists but I like a more intimate trip. Hells Canyon is amazing. I also recommend the hike to Rainy Falls (which is more of a big drop in the river than a true falls). Be careful though people have slipped off the edge of this trail and perished.

The Rogue is such a beautiful river, but right now the water level is lower than I've ever seen it. The decline in rainfall and snow in Oregon the past couple of years are having a heart-rending effect. Spring rafting was diminished, so summer rafting may be a rarity. Nevertheless, what remains of the river is beautiful, as always.

This unspoiled and pristine river has good access camp grounds, parks and boat ramps at regular but not frequent intervals, making it a wonderful place to fish, picnic and enjoy nature.

The Rogue River itself is lovely and clear, and it is surrounded by some absolutely beautiful country, very green! It's fun for rafting. But don't neglect the other rivers in the vicinity.

A trip thru the wild and scenic portion of the Rogue river is a must for many outdoor adventurers. I was surprised at the beauty with waterfalls, deep canyons, great trees with ospreys and bald eagles. Take a good guide for it is a difficult river to navigate. Nanvy

Ok this was a blast and you have to see all this area has to offer.
Go kayaking it is a blast. We found many places to launch from.

Had a fun little hike and observed the lava tubes/natural bridge and many waterfalls

This is an epic time for the Rogue River. In the last few years, three older main stem dams -- Savage Rapids, Gold Hill and Gold Ray – have been removed resulting in 157 miles of free flowing river. A fourth dam on Elk Creek has been notched. These barrier removals benefit fish and humans alike. I use to live very near the Rogue and have to say that I miss it greatly. You can make the experience as wild and 'off grid' as you wish...or you can hook up with various outfitters, eat at restaurants and have indoor toilet facilities. You get to choose. The best times to go are after labor day or before memorial day...the waters are colder, but there are far fewer people.

There are a number of ways to enjoy the Rogue: Guided fishing trip, Day-trip to one of many parks, rent a tahiti or larger raft, or the Hellgate Jetboat Excursion. Just be careful, it's a powerful current. You will probably see Osprey, Bald Eagles, Otter and other river wildlife.

If you like rafting, hiking or fishing this is a great river, very pretty and in some areas full of wildlife.

We did the three day lodge rafting trip - AWESOME!! I have traveled the world and this was a trip to remember? Our guides, Mikey, Tom and Kalaha were the best. The lodges were rustic but you are in the wilderness. SO much better then pitching a tent and food good! Great time was had by all I highly recommend

The Rogue River is in my backyard and I am so lucky. This river is amazing, with so many activities and fun things to do. You can take a Hellgate Jetboat trip, raft the river in all sized boats, camping right next to the water and swimming on a hot summer day.

There are some challenging rapids on the Rogue river but you will need a multiday trip for those and that will be a trip on it's own. For casual fun just head to the river rent a raft for the whole family (4 years old all the way up to grandma) and you will have a blast since the area close to Medford is mellow.

There is nothing dull about the Rogue River! Great camera material, have lots of pictures to take home!

We didn't actually go into the National Forest proper. But we simply pulled into one of the off-highway "places of interest". What a mighty river!! And so beautiful a setting.

We heard a lot about the Hells-Gate Jet Boat ride on the Rogue River. When our family visited us back in August last year we took them on this river ride and what a great experience. The driver was outstanding and did a great job of narrating the cruise. The first leg of the tip include a wonderful lunch and resort accommodations with great service and awesome food. The ride back was just a much fun and the weather was perfect for boating on the Rogue. Lots of wild life to see as well as upscale residence to view on the trip. Definitely, a must do thing in the summer time and for family to remember a great experience.

This river is beautiful! It goes from tame to wild and hold onto your raft! We did the “Zip Dip and Sip” and had an amazing time. It’s one exciting ride!

Pick your season, pick your stretch of the river. If you want the tourist views, restaurants and rest rooms at (or near) beginning and end, Class 3 max., do the upper Rogue, starting at Casey Park or Shady Cove, in the summer, and enjoy! End your float at Dodge Bridge, or Touvelle Park. (Don't expect warm water, though -- the temperature is managed to favor the salmon.) Tell all your friends!
If you want Class 4 and up, and have a helmet (and snorkel), hit the lower Rogue (especially the 40-mile Wild Reach) in the spring! (If you get there before May, you won't need a permit.) And if the Rogue is too tame, do the Illinois ....

We have done a couple rogue river excursions...rafting and taking the jet mailboat ride. Loved both. Mailboat ride is great for adults or kids. Nice lunch in a lovely spot at the end of the ride before heading back. This is a beautiful river and we saw bald eagles as well as deer.

The trip along the river valley was beautiful. We stopped at a little park and ate lunch beside the river. At one point we were escorted by fire personnel because it was quite smoky but while we saw burnt trees, there was no fire near our route, just smoke. I'd love to go back on a sunny day, I'm sure it's beautiful.

Great water to fish for trout. I have taken up the two hand revolution and enjoy swinging for steelhead. Just a relaxing time.

Tubing the Rogue is the best. Jet boats are fantastic!!!! Great for all ages. Very beautiful and a great place when the valley is 100 degrees

The Rogue River is a fantastic cool treat in the middle of a hot summer day. I did a rafting trip and it was a welcome respite from the 103 degree day. The area we rafted was pretty mild (Grants Pass) - only our guide paddled so we were left to enjoy the scenery and look for birds. Lots to do along the Rogue - swim, fish, etc - highly recommended!

I live within 7 miles of this river, and it always amazes me. Plenty of recreational opportunities, from just walking along its banks, to fishing, hunting and floating. It has lots of wildlife, and still quite natural, even though right outside Medford, Oregon at one point. This is a great vacation spot!

This is a super fun activity for young and old alike! Hellgate Jet Boats out of Grants Pass is just 30 miles from Medford, and offers several different trips daily. We have done just the boat ride, and also the brunch and lunch trips. The last time we went, we had eagles fly right over us! We have seen numerous other wildlife, in and along the river. If you opt for a meal trip, the restaurant site is beautiful, and the food was really delicious! The scenery is gorgeous and the drivers make the entire trip just plain fun!

Fantastic river and great places to raft. The wild river is beautiful & a wonderful place to enjoy the day. If you are looking for a wild ride, this is the best of Oregon.

The Rogue River is beautiful. There are many places to stop and view the river and to camp. There are many tall, old trees along the roadway. Crater Lake is nearby so it is a good place for family vacations.

This is a river to return to over and over again. It's beautiful in any season. Good swimming, Great fishing for trout and salmon.
Fantastic rafting and jet boat tours. Fun to feed ducks at many places. Lots of boat ramps. One of the most beautiful rivers in the world --great scenery. What a place to visit and live.

Great day on the river.
We ran it twice. Once in kayaks and another in larger rafts.
Be prepared and pay attention, the water runs quickly and you can easily tip, and the water is cold!

You can go river rafting here or just acknowledge that this important river has created the landscape. You will run across it if you go wine tasting.

If you are driving up to Crater Lake from the south (Medford), a quick stop at the natural bridge and gorge are a must. These two natural phenomna are incredible. Watch for the signs towards the top of the canyon becuase they come up on you quickly. The hiking paths are paved and relatively level. The power of the river and the combination of the river and the lava tubes are awe inspiring. You only need about 20 minutes at each site -- DO NOT MISS THEM.

For those who love flows of water, the Rogue River provides an abundance of assorted water falls, rapids, little creeks and big rivers, hiking trails, fly fishing, and even a hot springs. Nearer the Pacific, there are also jet boat tours, but IMO that's not the ambience for me.

What a fun experience on a jet boat. Hellgate, out of Grants Pass is way fun. We have been twice. A tip, if you don't want to get soaked, when the boat captain hits the skids and rotates, be sure and sit back a few rows. If you bring your cameras or cell phones, bring a small freezer type bag to store them in or they will get wet.

The Rogue is a beautiful and wild River. It has lots to offer besides its great beauty. I've done raft trips many times and they are awesome, Fishing is outstanding. It is cold so be prepared. The wildlife viewing in many areas is awesome. It does have some fast moving rapids so be sure you are qualified and do your homework. There are many parks along the river where you can float and swim.

We stopped at this park on our way to the Redwoods. Hadn't known about it before. Short hike to several pretty views of the rushing Rogue River. Very picturesque. Worth a short stop if you pass by. Would have stayed longer but it was raining. On the hike is the Natural bridge where the river flows underground for 200' then reappears. Glad we stopped.

Rafting the Rogue is a great way to spend the day. Gorgeous scenery. Head up to Shady Cove and rent acraft from any of the companies. They drive you up river, let you off and you raft back down then they pick you up. Everything is supplied. Perfect for beginners, families, or people out to enjoy the outdoors in a relaxed way.

This river is worth the trip to see. From the wildlife to the wild rapids it promises adventure. Please be aware this is NOT a swimming river except in a few very specific places. It is mainly used for boating and fishing.

The Rogue offers a wide variety of things to do for everyone. You can swim, you can fish, you can raft, you can ride the white water with little kids, or you can get a permit and ride world-class rapids on the lower river. A jet boat ride is a great way to see the middle section of the river (from Grants Pass) or the lower section (from Gold Beach). Families with minimal rafting experience can rent a raft and ride the water for a couple of hours in the Shady Cove area. Above Shady Cove, the river forms Lost Creek Lake which offers excellent water sports opportunities. Above the lake are gorgeous waterfalls and areas of world class kayaking. Above the falls, the river flows through a series of lava tubes and is unique, beautiful and easily accessible.
Come to the Rogue for camping, to swim, raft, ride or catch huge salmon and steelhead.
All of this is easily accessible from Medford.

The Rogue River in Southern Oregon has many faces. Swift water, quiet shallows, nesting & spawning grounds. Truly an amazing & beautiful river upon which to fish, boat, relax. Several miles are accessible only by hiking & camping. Unspoiled beauty in many places.

The Rogue River is an excellent place to visit, raft, fish, kayak, take jet boats. Very scenic and relaxing (unless you're in rapids or in a bad way). I highly recommend Hellcate jet boats, but they are pricey, save for when family comes or a special event. Rafting is great, kayaking. Put in at Shady Cove for an all day affair. The fishing can be good I hear, but I am not a fisherman and I didn't like the only fishing tour I took cuz it was too early in the am and we didn't catch anything. Lots of good places by the side of the river to hang out, but you have to watch it because sometime there's a rowdy bunch (like in Gold Hill), parks by it are nice.

So much fun and informative. Lunch is fantastic. Great for family, couples, friends, etc.... Can't go wrong with this outdoor activity. 😎❤️😎

Rogue River offers the premier recreational experience in Southern Oregon. If you love fishing the fiver has Trout, Steel head, Salmon. If you like a raft adventure the river offers frog pond water near shady cove with raft rentals available. For a true adventure there is the wild and scenic section. te dinnerjet boat trips are fun also.

An hours drive from Medford and you can be rafting the Rogue! Soooo much fun. Word to the wise - use your life jackets (except in the super mellow parts, if you're comfortable). People drown every year. Things happen unexpectedly - we almost lost my sister last year and we are experienced.

The Rogue River is an impressive site. It has some very turbulent waters and is very picturesque. Lots of campgrounds along its banks.

The View was amazing from the lodge area. The lodge was expensive....$230....& the fire alarm went off at !:00 am....false alarm & no discount given...it too a long time to fall back asleep.

dont do what i did and see it in the winter unless you can handle lots of snow..

Grew up rafting the Rogue and miss those summer waves! The water can be cold so nice on a hot Medford day! Several companies rent rafting gear, or you can bring your own. If you are not familiar with rafting a guide is highly suggested. Beware life jackets are required by law (wisely so) and if you are caught with beer - you are looking at open container and RUI - yeah...I know sounds funny but I've seen it happen many times. If you are in a group, expect friendly water fights!

I love this wild river. Beautiful! Powerful! I recommend a raft trip and/or a jet boat trip! Be sure to bring a camera and sunscreen.

not to sound smug, but man are we lucky to live near this river. wild or gentle crazy scary or just a place you can forget all your troubles its the bomb. one of my favorite parts is the tubes near union creek but don't fall in!

Many good places to bank fish but a boat trip is the best way to over water. Average day float will be 7 - 10 miles in a long day
Welll worth taking a 'guided tour' with a guide or the jet boat people out of Grants Pass

This is a beautiful stretch of river between Grant's Pass and Hell Gate. Really best seen on a Jet Boat although floats and tubes are possible with a way to get back to Grant's Pass required if you are on your own.

When you walk along the River or if you life to fish, epic don't miss it its great. Winter you can cross country ski or snow shoe.

My wife and I planned a trip to Crater Lake and aded Mt. Hood and Columbia Gourge to the mix. Thank God we added Mt. Hood and the waterfalls in the Columbia Gourge. With all the hype we read about Crater Lake after driving 5 Hours form Mt. Hood we both looked at the Lake and said is that it. The water was not blue as some said it was black and it had some sort of slick on it. I'm guessing from all the melting snow and residue from cars in the snow. It was June and the boat was not running. I guess if your in the area I would visit but Northern OR is so much nicer

We have enjoyed exploring the Rogue River area. As such, we were delighted to spend another nice day along the Rogue in August 2016. We went to McGregor Park where they have a web cam for the Rogue River. We took a walk on the Rogue River Trail.
We also went to Natural Bridge Area and the Upper Rogue River Trail.
There is a lot of recreational opportunities on the Rogue. Its one of my favorite rivers to visit.

Early birds get the... ability to see this without having to fight the traffic. Plan ahead and have the right transportation November - March because it could be a wasted trip. The scenery is well worth the drive, even if you are staying in the Portland area. Many pullovers for that perfect picnic location!

We hiked Rainey Falls Trail, a 4 mile roundtrip trail on the south side of the Rogue River. This trail is poorly maintained by the Bureau of Land Management! In places the trail is only 2 feet wide with dangerous 40 foot drop offs to the Rogue River. Hiking books rate it as "Easy" but don't be fooled. Even though the trail has only mild elevation gains and drops, it has tricky areas where you must cross hillside streams that are maybe 4-10 feet in width and climb over awkward boulders. You definitely need to take hiking poles. There is no cellphone service along the trail and for five miles when you're driving to the trailhead. If someone gets hurt, it takes two hours after you drive to the nearest phone (in Galice,OR) for 2 paramedics to arrive and stabilize the patient and another two hour harrowing ride in a stokes stretcher requiring 10 heroic firefighters to safely transport the patient back to the trailhead! Evacuation by boat or helicopter is not usually available. Although it is a scenic hike, it is not recommended because of the poor hiking condition of the trail.

This is located just off Highway 62 across the road from Union Creek Resort and about 20 miles from Crater Lake. There is no charge to park your vehicle, and it is an easy hike along the gorge with amazing views along the trail. The waterfall at the upper end of the gorge is powerful and a great place to take pictures. As you walk back to your vehicle there is an interesting living stump that is marked with an explanatory sign.

I love this river...it is beautiful, great for fishing trout, salmon and steelhead certain times of the year! It is scenic and full of Rapids for the adventurous soul!

Great places to float and fish on this river. Many inlets to just hang out and relax. However if your down where the jet boats are they will splash you. Tons of fun

Friends from Canada were visiting and wanted to see Crater Lake, so we motored up from Ashland for the day. Although I had been there several times before, I was pleasantly surprised visiting a little visitor center right on the rim I had never gone to before with info on how the lake was created and early explorers. We did a short hike on the Rim Trail. A very enjoyable afternoon.

Awesome place. You can swim, fish, raft, and generally have a great time. There are camping spots along the river as well.

It is an exciting river for rafting and went back several times. Prefer having my own kayak and Orange Torpedo splits up the group with a ton of guides so everyone is very safe, and gets help getting back into their kayak if it overturns. Terrific company!!!

My first experience rafting. It was truly fun. Everyone I saw on the river was also happy.
One canoe flipped, but the lady who flew out was able to get back in while smiling.
I learned that the further downstream, the warmer the water. We got in at "the fishery," where the water was quite cold.
Nobody bled, there were few truly treacherous parts that would threaten to tear the vinyl canoes apart, and the weather was idyllic.
It's worth the trip. Bring sunblock and hide your beer.

The river was beautiful and although the water was low in points, the Jetboat was great! Lots of wildlife, boaters, fishermen, and river homes to see.

We got on a jet boat in grants pass for the most fun you can have on the river. We had a great guide and really enjoyed the day. Just google jet boats on the rogue river and plan on doing the barbecue. Make a afternoon of it. Great for family and kids.

Floating or Fishing the Rogue River thru the mountains to the sea is an amazing adventure that any & all should experience at least 10 times in their life...The Wild & Scenic section of the river is one of the most beautiful areas in the Pacific North West... Salmon runs both Spring & Fall, with great Steelhead fishing Summer & Winter runs..No matter what your outdoor passions are the Rogue River will NOT disappoint.

We stayed at Union creek resort and found out that almost right across from our cabin was the Rogue Gorge Viewpoint which joins on to other trails along the Rogue River.
The views were great, some are a little bit obstructed from branches, but there are areas where it's an open view.
There was a little bit of fall color already showing up along the river and it was really pretty.
This is a great place to stop off at for river views and river hikes.

This is a great picture of Crater Lake Wizard Island in full view. It was absolutely spectacular. We spent hours there.

Family rafting, I recommend renting raft in Shady Cove, OR and rafting from fish hatchery to shady cove. Calm float with occasional ripple.

Great For Rafting And Or Kayak Can Rent Equipment Or Take A Guide Trip If Your Not From There Take The Guide And They Have Lunch For You Also Fun And Family Friendly

it is a wonderful place to take the family for fun and adventure, just don't go during fire season, Fall is a wonderful time to enjoy everything the river has to offer

Although not as much water flow as some other major rivers, the Rogue offers outstanding rapids, wilderness and adventure. Raft the river or hike the Rogue River Trail, you will enjoy the breathtaking grandeur and beauty .

We enjoyed the tour down the river to Hellgate Canyon on the Hellgate Jet boat excursion. Bo, our driver, made sure we were wet before we returned. However eight 360 degree turns were a little too many!

An amazingly fun, beautiful trip down the Rogue River. The captain was entertaining and shared good information. The meal was excellent and plentiful.

Fast moving and large River, at places you see it in the gorge. There are a number of places on the Rogue where you can white water raft. Enjoyable throughout.

The Rogue river has many activities available for all age groups. If you like to fish, you can fish from the bank or from parts of the river. Rafting available from several companies in the area. The river water is cool with some rapids in parts.

A nine mile run on the Rogue River you're coming to Medford Oregon it's a must then don't forget crater lake a hidden gem of Southern Oregon

As a local, I never take this river for granted! Every kind of wildlife imaginable that is indigenous to our area....just the peaceful sounds of the river are mesmerizing. We go down to the river at least once a week, regardless of weather or time of year. Our visitors from out-of-town (AZ) LOVED IT!

It is a must do to go on a Rogue river jet boat tour. My family and I had so much fun. You can get a little wet or very wet which did not seem to bother anyone as it was warm out. The scenery along the river is very beautiful as well

Honestly, I can not say enough about rafting down the Rogue River. Always relaxing, exciting, challenging at times, but bottom line if you are with family, friends,or just you and your hubby or significant other... You are guaranteed to have fun.
Always wear your life jacket !!

All types of trips are available, couple hours or days. Camping or lodge trips, private party or commercial groups. If you love the water this river is the best! Be safe always wear your life jacket and avoid the alcoholic beverages. And please if you can't swim or are under 5 years old, learn to swim first.

wen t to sort of a public beach by a bridge, jumped in, freezing I didnt have a wetsuit, the locals said I was nuts oh well I have surfed colder water no wave but I at least got in.

We stayed at two lodges along the way, Black Bar Lodge and Mariel Lodge. I am 66, and this is the only way I would do it! ROW guides and lodge staff couldn't do enough.

Very relaxing park along the Rogue River. Hiking trails and picnic areas - Many different birds to observe.

just a great time for family and friends good rafting trips to be had for people of all experience

We recently traveled to Medford to white water raft with Rogue River Outfitters, Craig and Tina Hughson. 22 people (12 kids and 10 adults)! Craig and his crew, Johnny, Joey, Harry and Cliff were not only experienced guides but friendly, helpful and easy going. The equipment was new and clean. The tents, sleeping bags and locations that they selected for our group were secluded and beautiful. Craig's wife, Tina created an amazing menu for us for lunch and dinners every day. We HIGHLY recommend and would consider going back for another trip! Such an incredible experience for myself, my husband and our two boys. THANKS Craig and Tina!

The lake itself is just beautiful. The fishing is exceptional. Many people were fishing while we walked along the shoreline. It is a fast moving river and fly casting is the way to go.

One of the most beautiful, tranquil rivers in the world!
The greatest fishing, swimming, kayaking, rafting and recreational river not including the other areas surrounding this beautiful country.

When people think of the Rogue Valley in Southern Oregon, the Rogue River is the first thing that comes to mind. It has a calming effect on everyone who sees it, and photographers never feel they've done it justice. This river has a multitude of possibilities for those who like river sports. It is deep and swift, and has some world-class areas of white-water, but other areas are peaceful and a plethora of campgrounds abound. The source of the river is up on the side of Crater Lake caldera, so there are plenty of options for other side trips nearby. A friend says this is where God chose for His retirement!

We did a drive for 5 days hitting some highlight areas, crater lake, so serene, so srreal, there is a gift shop plenty of parking an you can walk or drive the rim.
we went to campsights along the rogue river, Oregon has some of the best visitor centers, its worth stopping in. Usually the people working are very informative. one of my Must haves every year is the Oregon byways book, it gives highlights of places to stop. it show what is available at campgrounds i.e. showers, trails, waterfalls, etc. stip by and pick one up!

Rating 9 of 10
The trip was great 👍 I definitely want to do it again the only thing I didn't like was I didn't know how to pack for it and was a bit underprepared, other than that the trip was awesome.

Don't miss the Rogue River Gorge and Natural Bridge when visiting Crater Lake. Located Southwest of Crater Lake, on Hwy. 62 (going from or to Medford). Visit the beautiful lush forest setting of the Rogue River as it tumbles over falls and into the volcanic Gorge. See the "natural bridge" as the Rogue flows through a volcanic tube. There are also campgrounds in the area.

There were multitudes doing so many activities that disturbed us with noises. Looking for solitude and peaceful place, this is not it.

Beautiful drift! Lodge hopping was the best. If you haven't done it before be aware that most of the lodges are NOT marked.

Just got back to Idaho after rafting the Wild stretch of the Rogue River in Oregon. Whitewater, gorgeous scenery, wildlife, wild flowers and the good company of friends on our own private trip...it doesn't get any better than that. I recommend modestly loaded 15' rafts or smaller, since it is a 3-4 day trip on a relatively low volume river. Private boaters should call the BLM station in Rand OR to find out how to get a permit; you might be able to pick something up even during peak season. You can also hire an outfitter to boat you down, or you can hike the trail.

We love our Souther Oregon rivers. Fishing, rafting, hiking, swimmimg, and picnic-ing are all beloved activities. Jet boats - available in Grants Pass, among other areas, are a good way to see larer stretches.

We enjoyed watching the rafters and fishermen, or just watching the river.

This is so perfect to get friends and family on hot day and spend a great day together. We have the best memories on this river, and it forces your teens to spend the day with you. Everyone enjoys these trips.

I fish the Rogue, drift the Rogue, take people sightseeing, wade, swim in safe areas, and and believe that this River is a national treasure. There is a wild and scenic area with access and use restrictions. plenty of boat launch ramps and even some commercial jet boat tours which are well narrated and safe.

Favorite place is the hiking Trail near Natural Bridges Campground

We stopped at Rouge River for a picnic lunch. Beautiful spot, lots of picnic tables right by the river. Flush-able bath facilities. We watched kayakers paddling by as we ate lunch. really nice setting.

If you go out to Shady Cove there are some great inexpensive options for floating down the river with a group of friends. If you go out to Grants Pass or Gold Hill you definitely want a guide and possibly a helmet. Depending on the time of year the water can be very high and freezing. You'll want to have a 4 person raft minimum for any of the sections of the river and be ready for some beautiful views with lots of nature.

Fun to spend time at this amazing river. Was there in the spring where it was just raging in certain spot. Powerful river

My mum lives here we live to visit the rogue it’s a beautiful part of the world lots to see and do with plenty of nice places to eat and shop

The Rogue is one of Oregon's Best, especially the wild and scenic section. There are jet boats at the mouth of the River for long trips, and a shorter (but funner) jet boats that leave from Grant's Pass. Both are amazing and you get the see some great river scenes.

Many choices on how to enjoy this beautiful rugged river, which include jet boat, raft, kayak, and fishing trips, bird watching, horse & hiking trails. Bring your own or rent (need to get a trip permit for the river) or book a guide. We took a picnic lunch to Whitehorse Park and walked along the path by the river. We got up close to the rapids and waded in the shallows.. There are so many different kinds of rocks all mixed up and worn smooth by rolling in the river. We saw deer, birds, and lots of plants, We took a guided jet boat ride which I didn't think would be as fun and exhilarating as it was. I recommend reserving seats ahead, because it is a VERY popular trip. Then we watched the water flow by while eating a nice dinner at Taprock Northwest Grill, The Rogue River is powerful, so be prepared to use life jackets, and other safety equipment.

I have spent many summers on the Rogue River, from above Lost Lake to the coast. It is beautiful, peaceful, wildlife filled, and you will feel rejuvinated after spending a day at the river.

I would spend everyday of the summer fishing and hiking the Rogue. I have never been anywhere on the Rogue River Upper, Lower ... no place that doesn't thrill ya.

When I first moved to the Rogue Valley my husband and I took two grandsons to inner tube on the Rogue River. In my childhood I spent a lot of time going down rivers on an inner tube, so didn't think twice about doing this.
We scoped out 2 miles of the Rogue River from Gold Hill to Valley of the Rogue State Park, looked at the ripple charts and decided it was okay. We decided to tie the 4 inner tubes together for extra safety, and each wore a life vest. These two things probably saved at least one life.
There are major rocks in the river that caused me (being last) to hang up on the rock. As we were tied together, the others pulled me off the rock. There were also significant drops in the water level (small waterfalls) that put some of us under water temporarily. You cannot always paddle around to a safer route as the water is strong and very cold, even in 100 degrees plus in the summer.
After our adventure I found out that it is the law to wear life vests on the Rogue. Many tahitis (small kayaks), rafts and boats also navigate the Rogue and they are much safer. We lose one or two people a year, some who do not wear life vests and some navigating dangerous places. In addition to rocks there are tree roots and other objects in the river. Please respect this river!

Fishing, boating and romantic vistas!
The fishing is great, the boating is fun and uncrowded and the vistas are simply romantic and amazing!

The Rogue River is an amazing place to take the family for fishing, rafting, picnicking or hiking. Close to Medford (a full service community with hotels, restaurants etc.). The upper Rogue (above Shady Cove) is beautiful and offers some of the best scenery and outdoor activity in the world. beautiful green conifer forests, clean water and unbelievable wildlife viewing opportunities.

Perfect afternoon trip for 2!! enjoyed watching fish going up stream. Current just enough to keep moving!

We love bringing a picnic and fishing along the river. We have also went rafting several times. Such a beautiful area!

Visited Crater Lake for the first time, stayed i n Grants Pass. Crossed the Rogue River several times in several different places. The river is beautiful! Saw a lot of different kinds birds everywhere along the river.

We took an afternoon cruise and loved it! The boat holds up to 10, comfortable enough and great guide. We learned a lot, saw some great homes along the river, a bald eagle, a bear scrambling on the bank, and beautiful scenery.
Definitely a fun adventure.

Followed the Rogue river on the way to Crater lake. Beautiful area with beautiful forests and interesting hiking trails and some of nature’s interesting features

Scenic and wild, the impressive Rogue River offers premier opportunities for fishing, rafting, and hiking with many shops, restaurants and services available along its shores! Many people like to live along the banks and within view of the beautiful Rogue River giving real estate opportunities you just don't want to pass up! Access is plentiful and free with parks and camping options for nature lovers of all kinds! Spring and Fall are beautiful, but the heat of Summer gives delight to the icy spray of her year-round waters! Evergreen trees enhance a Winter visit as well with reduced rates at area motels. An excellent choice for recreational destination!
Beautiful Scenery
You have to visit this place at least once in your lifetime. Just beautiful and you will forget the long hours of driving to this place. Summer and perhaps early autumn will be the best time.
