Spent a arm and a leg getting in- and everything was closed due to the wind. Got to walk across the bridge which wasn’t for me (it moves and made half my group dizzy), and the playground. Even the carousel was closed. The views were gorgeous but just super pricey. A bottle of water is $4 so plan ahead.
Some of my group did the sky coaster and loved it!

The last time I was here was about 30 years ago. Much has changed! We rode the cable car over the gorge, and they let us take our dog! Then we walked back over the bridge and ate some ice cream. But for families, there are now other things to do: there's an area for the smaller kids with rides; there are several restaurants; there are stages for entertainment; and there's a zipline (no thank you!). Someone has put a lot of time and money into this place -- everything is spotlessly clean. There are flower beds all over. And the "park rangers" are super friendly and will give you a ride if you are too tired to walk up the hills.

This should be on everyone's list of Colorado highlights. They told us when we entered if the winds were too bad the gondola would be closed and there would be no refund. When we got to the trail leading up to it there was a sign posted it was closed. However the zip line is next to it and the sign did not say it was closed so we made the long steep trek up to it. It was also CLOSED! It was super irritating to have wasted the time. I asked the young people in the ticket booth why the sign didn't include the zip line. They could not have cared less--as if it was my fault for not knowing.

It’s hard to rate a place that has become too touristy. We entered the building and read where the entrance fee was $39 to walk out on the bridge. It’s free to go to the view point and look at the bridge, so that’s what we did.

Don't waste your time/money on the Bridge of Lights. Very little actually to see - the only lights on the bridge are the sides and none on the cables between the towers. There is a bit of a thrill driving across the bridge but since dark, you can't see down in the gorge of course. Advertised at the beginning when I bought the tickets were cookies, cocoa and souvenir cups to be included in the price; however, they later removed those amenities from the car price so we arrived and were told our ticket price didn't include those. Very unhappy about that and Royal Gorge mgmt. would not rectify that. Gift shop not open either which was disappointing.

We went towards the end of the day, about 2 hours before they closed, and paid $54 for 2 adults. It was windy so the gondola and attractions were all closed. The snack bar was also closed, so we walked across the bridge and back and enjoyed the view along the way. Since everything was closed we spent about an hour there in total. The experience would likely be a lot more fun on a day when the gondola is open and the attractions are available.

We went in the Santa Express and had a great time. The staff were all merry and played the parts nicely. My 6 year old grandson loved it. The price is pretty steep but it was worth it. Justine was our server and she did a great job.

Gorge is beautiful, we stayed at the campground on the rim and it was great as were the trails. The BIG negative was the exorbitant cost to walk the bridge. Be prepared for a shock. Ultimately our group unanimously decided to forgo the bridge, which was sad.

Had a blast doing the advanced Via Feratta. It was an amazing experience to say the least and a much more challenging experience than I was expecting. I've done via feratta before however they were horizontal climbs. This one was a very steep vertical climb. Will was our guide, and although new, he was patient, encouraging and knowledgeable. The trail that was included with the advanced course was intense and in my opinion not for beginning climbers. I would recommend the other for new or newer climbers.

This is the very definition of an over-commercialized tourist trap. It's a bit too far from Colorado Springs to be worth the drive. The bridge is kinda cool, and the gondola is ok, but there are much more natural, more exciting and more engaging natural wonders in the area. Do the Pike's Peak railroad, Rocky Mountain National Park, the Denver Botanical Gardens, or any of the hundreds of hiking trails in the area far before bothering with this. The best part of the day was an excellent raptor show, but it was an outlier. Unless you enjoy watching people spend $50 on a 5 minute zip line or swing (or like doing that yourself, after paying a ton to get in), skip it.

We walked across the suspension bridge on 9/1/22 and it is breathtaking! The gondolas were not running due to the wind conditions, we were disappointed - but on positive note we needed the exercise (steps). We loved the view, the wind (sway feeling), and most of all the sound of the Arkansas River below. My husband loved listening to the music of the train horn in the gorge. This is a must see experience for bridge hunters!!

As a result of a wildfire four years ago, the Gorge Bridge and 63 of its 65 buildings had to be renovated or completely rebuilt. The bridge itself is a showstopper! Talk about views!! NOTE: Get there early. We were the first to arrive that day and had the entire park to ourselves for nearly an hour! The canyon is magnificent. When the weather is clear, you can see for miles...and miles...and miles. NOTE: Admission ticket includes a one-way gondola and a 17 minute film on the history of the park. HINT: SKIP the gondola and ZIP LINE back across!! BEST day EVER!!! This is the highest zip line in North America, and pictures will be taken as you ride. This is 1.5 minutes of pure exhileration, and worth every penny!!

Good fun. The wife was a bit uncomfortable with a section of the warm up course where it is slab-y. For the main course we did the "hard" route which had all the rods that she likes. Bit exposed but easy, good fun.

go ride the zip line have fun you only live once they're not much here but it might be on your list of things to do
ride the train down in the Gorge also the BBQ is ok
take in the movie

We just wanted to walk across the bridge. We didn't want to spend extra time and money on rides. But the only option was $32 entry for each adult with (some, not all) rides included. We're NOT blowing $64 for a 30 minute stretch of the legs. If we'd known we'd have to pay so much, we would've planned to spend more time to ride the "complimentary" rides that come with "basic" admission. But we had many miles to drive that day. Extra time just wasn't a possibility.
We weren't the only ones. A sizeable portion of patrons turned away after seeing the price to get in.
It has the feeling of bait-and-switch. People drive out of their way to get there. Once you've sunk so much time getting there, it's very tempting to just pony up the money. And that's exactly why I walked away. It just seems really manipulative.
It wouldn't feel so slimy if they had a $15 just-walk-the-bridge option, or if they advertised as an amusement park, not a bridge with a view. That information would allow visitors to budget time and money better. As it is, however, it's a real gotcha! moment. Boo hiss.
Nice views nonetheless!

Fantastic day of rock climbing at Via Ferrata Royal Gorge. A challenging climb but wow so worth it! Chris was a great guide and made us feel very safe. Definitely something to try if you are looking for a challenge and dont mind heights!

Been wanting to stop here for years, but never travelled that far south into the Colorado Rockies. Worth the wait. The Canyon was deeper than I imagined. The included gondola ride was impressive. We saw a large heard of young Bighorn Sheep lounging in a grass area, fenced off to keep people from bothering them. They can escape in a single bound, but people can be stupid with wild animals. The walk back across the bridge was smoot, but my wife was content to stay in the center of the wide path and not approach the rails. Super, new visitor center. The old one and the tram to the bottom burned down some years back.

We came in the evening and it wasn’t crowded- May 31- I think we’re in summer hours now so open later. We drove down CR-3 to get to the visitor center. On the way there we went to the “elk horn loop overlook and picnic area” it is a dirt road left turn off before you get to the visitor center. The first pull off had a beautiful view and you could even see the river. We didn’t go further down this turn off. We headed to the visitors center. The gift shop has lots of things your kids are going to beg you to buy. We decided not to pay $91 for the 3 of us to walk out on the bridge (cars do not drive across this bridge). So we went back out to the overlook that’s in the parking lot and took some cool pics of the bridge. This whole canon city area has a lot to do: helicopter rides, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, bike trails, ATV rides, jeep tours, camping (KOA and I think affiliated with the royal gorge too), and zip lining at the royal gorge bridge visitor center area. With a 5 yr old we weren’t interested in any of this, but this is a really cool spot to visit. There is a “dinosaur experience” in the area too.

Pretty much what I expected but still glad we did it.
Go as early in the day as you can to avoid the crowds.

Rode the tram over the gorge and then walked over the bridge. The wind was really strong that day and you could actually feel the bridge moving a little. Love the site in the center of the bridge when I looked over and saw the Arkansas River and train below. Awesome.
Also watched the movie and the wild bird show. Movie was ok - didn’t care for the cartoon character but REALLY enjoy the bird show. Devin was great and very informative.

We got there early and it was not windy. The movie and the Birds of Prey show were great. Our kids had fun with the mining and the playground.

A bit of a tourist trap but definitely an incredible spot to visit for anybody passing through this part of Colorado! I recommend the gondola!

A unique tourist attraction for those based in the Pikes Peak area. It's about an hour & a half drive from Cascade/Manitou Springs. The bridge and gondola ride offer spectacular views of the Gorge. The walk across the bridge was particularly interesting when it sways due to vehicles (for disabled and staff) and wind. We thought the prices were appropriate. A good three-quarter day outing!!

The bridge was worth the walk. Wonderful views of the gorge. The gondola ring was easy with great views. The film was worth seeing. My only complaint was the uphill/downhill walking to get around to seeing everything

Way overpriced for the value. Almost $45/person just to walk across the bridge. Very commercialized for what there is to see.

The scoop is; it’s $35 a person ($28 online according to our local friends). It’s not a National Park and the prices are exorbitant. So, step one; stop at the Canon City Visitor Center which is on the south side a the west end of the Veterans Park. There is a lady there that is full of factoids and stuff you can do. She told us that there’s an overlook that’s free; just drive into the parking and as you are driving it’s on the right side right by the fire hydrants (no parking). The parking is a circus and buses roll in by the dozens, literally. As you are driving down the hill leaving the park you will see a day picnic and overlook area called “The Elkhorn Loop and Picnic Area.” The road was rough, it’s less than a mile long. When you get to the part that is closest to the canyon, get out of your car and walk down the hill. You can take beautiful photos up and down the canyon. On the way back to Canon City you will come across the Skyline Drive. Only take it on the way home, it’s one-way and ends in Canon City. You can’t take motorhomes or large vehicles up there. Unbelievable. Built by the prisoners in the Canon City in 1905. Scariest drive in the world. The Jeep tours go up there if you’re not up for a death-defying drive. If you want to spend some money, take the train through the canyon. I believe it said it goes once a day out of Canon city.

We loved our experience at Royal Gorge Bridge and Park. The grounds are beautiful, the scenery is breathtaking, the gift shop offered fun, unique items, and the theater was very informational and entertaining!

Tourist trap! I can’t believe they charge $35. They didn’t tell me when I paid that the gondola wasn’t running due to winds. Isn’t it always windy above s deep gorge? They have signs stating that the rides can close at any time, so you have been warned.
A much better use of your money is to ride the Royal Gorge Railroad. I did both- the views from the train were so much better. And the train was super fun; I didn’t feel like I had just been scammed like at the bridge

I was a bit nervous when my friend suggested we walk across this beautiful bridge with the river rushing underneath it. Pro Tip: I would ride the sky Gondola over the gorge first and then walk down from the platform on the other side and back across the bridge. Especially, if you visit in summer. Also, make sure to have plenty of water if visiting in the summer to stay hydrated. The drive up to the bridge was beautiful. Many extra add ons that we did not per-take in and it was very busy as we visited but all in all a cool experience.

Stopped in the middle of the week in the morning and found the parking lot filling quickly. The gorge is a popular attraction and has a wide variety of appeal with most of the areas included in the fee (exceptions are the zip line and the sky coaster). We started on the gondola across the gorge. There was a bit of a line and wait but it went fairly quickly. The gondolas fit on average 18-24 people each trip. Once on the other side we enjoyed the overlooks as we walked down to cross the bridge walking back. The views are amazing from everywhere. There is a merry go round and children’s play area as well as the thrill rides in the far side of the gorge. There are also food shacks and places to get ice cream, drinks and food around the property. From the bridge you can see the water rafters below on the Arkansas River, the train tracks and the amazing gorge. Find your state flag as you cross the bridge and take a photo. There is a gift shop in the visitor center where you enter and exit the property. We spent about 2 hours enjoying the sites. So much history and of course, the views.

Loved the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park. Staff is so friendly. Go early and get the early bird discount!

Its definitely improved from the 90s when I went as a kid. They have plenty of stuff to do for the family. The ticket counter explained what was included in the ticket prices vs was extra (a few of the rides
I went to a raptors bird show at the theater, they had three birds that where not able to be released back into the wild. The presentor was great, she is from a non-profit bird scantuary, and they had the birds flying around from perch to perch and to her arm.
The theater also had a mini museam of the bridge. They had pictures from construction back in the 1920s, to newspaper clippings over the years. They also had pictures and news stories from the forest fire in June 2013.
The place was very clean everywhere
The prices for food is mostly reasonable for 2022, and a tourist attraction. The only thing that was crazy expensive was bottle water $5,pop was just as high.

This was so enjoyable--great walks/hikes across the bridge. I had been there in 1976 and not since then. I was prepared to be "let down" from my childhood memories. I was not. The bridge is scary for those afraid of heights (me), but worth it! The lunch across the bridge (barbeque) was good; the turkey legs (my son and his girlfriend got them), were superb. I wish the winds had been lower so we could do the gondola, but safety first. The views were spectacular. If you have small kids (my son is 30), the kid's play area looked outstanding. I wanted to go try it out, but my son laughingly said, "dad you are too old." For a family this would be great--even picnic tables and it appears you can bring in food.

I was disappointed that the park doesn’t open until 10am in the summertime. It was already hot 85 degrees in July by the time they opened and long lines. Be prepared to walk a good distance and wear proper footwear. The gondolas don’t have AC either, but the trip was nice. The good thing is the cost to get in includes the gondola ride. Overall, if we visited again I wouldn’t want to visit in the summertime.

Fantastic views from the bridge and gondola. It was fun to look down onto the river where we had been earlier in the day.

We went to the Royal Gorge Park to partake in the Via Ferrata attraction. We have done a Via Ferrata course in California so we had a general idea of what to expect. This one here at this park was more upwards climbing whereas the one he had done before was more horizontal climbing. We thoroughly enjoyed the attraction!

Beautiful and dog friendly, but crowded and expensive. Then, once inside the park, vendors are harassing you to buy over priced shirts, snow cones, and popcorn.
The park staff is constantly zooming back and forth on gators, or they are kicked back on their phones. Very annoying to have to constantly get out of the way while they zoomed past. I am not sure if they were doing anything because it seemed as soon as they were across, they came back. Only once did I see them bringing visitors back over.
The sky ride would have made it more worth the price, but after standing in line for an hour while they sent it over empty and back, "testing the winds," they shut it down.
I think if the sky ride is shut down, then they should discount the entrance fee.

I agree with other reviews. The scenery and gorge are beautiful, but we did not feel like the ticket price justified our experience - especially with so many other beautiful options in the vicinity. It is definitely overpriced and over commercialized. The people were friendly and the park was clean, but we were disappointed in the overall experience - especially after driving all the way from Colorado Springs.

This is a very expensive venue. The visitors center is very nice with a great gift shop. Entry price includes gondola ride over the Gorge. Zip line was extra $$. Enclosed cars were very comfortable. The walk down the trail was a challenge but we have physical limitations & were able to make the decent slowly. Great playground for children. Concessions were not open & we desperately needed water. The theatre had a very informative video. We were able to hop on the trolley to ride across the bridge. It was a life saver. The whole family will enjoy this facility if you can afford it!

I had been to the Royal Gorge Bridge many years ago and loved it, so wanted to share the same experience with my family. I did not know of the fire of 2013. The bridge itself survived largely unscathed, but all of the outbuildings and other attractions have been rebuilt. I miss the incline train, but love all that has been built new. Great stop on your Colorado vacation.

It was fun to walk across the suspension bridge and then you get to ride the gondola also as part of your ticket price!! I recommend doing the gondola across the gorge and then walk the bridge back. Doing the bridge first meant quite an uphill walk to get to the gondola.

Should re-name to the Royal Gouge. The prices are ridiculous, much like going to a carnival or amusement park. And if you think you can drive across the bridge you are reading old information on google. Cars have not been allowed on the bridge since 2013.

We did not pay to ride the gondola or cross the bridge, a little pricey for us, but the views are wonderful! This was a last minute decision to stop and take a look and it was definitely worth the extra 8 mile drive off the major highway.

Stunning views and fun for the whole family! I definitely recommend wearing good shoes due to the steep sidewalks on the other side of the bridge. The extra attractions are pricey but worth it for the experience.

Great views everywhere you looked. My son also did the event that flings you over the gorge and the zip line. Those both cost extra. The gift shop and pavilion were also nice.

So we traveled a great distance to visit Royal Gorge. Preparing ahead, the webpage encouraged you to buy tickets early for a savings of $3 each.
When we arrived at the park, to our surprise, if you arrive in the first hour they discount tickets by $9 each!
The manager didn’t care that we paid $6 each more than we had to because NOWHERE on their site does it say that first hour tickets are $9 off. He said they purposely don’t put that on the website!! Well, why have a sale if the only people who benefit are the ones that stumble onto it.???
The views were great, but the entrance tainted the visit.

We were really happy we decided to go here. The gondolas gave us a beautiful view and was really smooth and fast. Walking across the bridge was exhilarating. The cafeteria was decent but expensive.

Don't get me wrong, the gorge is a beautiful natural wonder. The people there are aholes. The young lady that sold my wife and I our tickets was short and cold. When we tried to use our American Express card, she pointed, without a smile, to the list of acceptable cards. We specifcaly asked about the gondola ride and all she said was, "it's open", no directions and again no smile. As a result, we walked down to the bridge without seeing the sign pointing to the gondola ride. My wife and I are in our 70's and she uses a walker due to a bad back. The incline down to the bridge was doable, but the return trip much harder. Right at the bridge were parked 3 atvs with rangers, or maybe park employees, they were dressed like rangers. I asked them about the train that goes by everyday. I had done some research and had figured it would be by soon but was unsure of the time. I asked these three men if they could estimate when the train would pass. One of them said, "we are not part of that service." These three aholes are there every work day but would not share that piece of info. They saw my wife but did not offer to take her back up the incline. Totally unacceptable no matter who you work for. I have had many conversations with workers at these types of sites and while some might not have been the friendliest, these guys took the cake. By the way, as we made our way back up to the visitor center, the train passed by below, blowing a very loud horn. Those rangers must have thought that was the lunch whistle all these years. What incredibly rude individuals. I also want to say that by the time we got back to the visitor center and saw the gondola ride which was less than 100 feet around the buildings corner, a lightening storm was approaching and they shut the ride down. No gondola ride for us, what a disappointment. This place is not worth the $33 admission based on the employees alone.

Beautiful views and overall well organized staff. It is worth the trip to cross the bridge and the ziplining over the Gorge was an amazing experience! Lines are long and it is expensive from the admission fee to beer and food, but it's one of those sites to see if you're in CO.

visiting this place was definitely a great site to see and a great experience. one of my favorite parts of my trip was visiting this park. So much history, things to do & things to see!

We traveled with a 13-year old who was eager to do the zipline. When we bought our tickets (his for the gondola over, and zipline back), ours for gondola both ways, nothing was said about a weight minimum for the zipline. When we got over to the other side, we learned that the zipline has a 100-pound minimum and our young 'un only weighed 98 pounds. Yes, they weighed him and refused to let him ride. If we'd known about that restriction we would have saved ourselves some money, and him a LOT of disappointment, by just getting the two-way gondola tickets. And to top it off, soon after that we were told that there was lightning in the area and both the zipline and the gondola were closed down. We had to walk back to the center over the bridge, which was fine, but for the price of our three tickets we got a total of three one-way gondola rides. Period.

The gorge and the bridge are the only things worth to see. The other stuff are too commercialized. Definitely not worth the ticket price you are paying.

80 dollars for 2 and then 40 to ride the tram for 2 ridiculous. 160.00 and that is only for 2 .absolutely unreal! A magnet 17 dollars .. this is not a family adventure it's a rip off

Start in the free parking with room for RV's. Easy walk to gift shop, ticket window and Cafe. Ride the free gondola to the other side with great views along the way. Walk down the hill to the giant swing ride which you can ride for a fee or zip line back to the other side for a fee. Continue down past the animals to the carousel and playground. Walk on down to the BBQ snack bar or walk over to the theater to view the free film on the building of the bridge. Then walk across the bridge for all the magnificent views of the gorge. Lots of photo opportunities. End back at the gift shop.
We visited about 30 years ago long before the fire burned almost everything but the bridge. It was interesting to see all the new things they added and built back. I just wish that could have rebuilt the incline that took you into the gorge where you could walk along the waters edge and by the railroad tracks. It was a great part of the park.

My wife and I did the Via Ferrata at Royal Gorge Bridge & Park. If you want a physical challenge with adrenalin flowing while you take in the sites of the gorge and bridge, this is your activity. Our guide Abbey was professional and knowledgeable. She made sure that everyone was safe and confident to continue climbing vertical until we reached the summit. This is not for people who are afraid of heights. If you want an adventure that is unique, the Via Ferrata is it.

I did the Via Ferrata, and it was amazing! One of the most fun and exhilarating experiences I've had. The guide, JJ, was very knowledgable, and he made sure we were all safe. Warning: Do not do this if you're afraid of heights! There were parts that were pretty scary, but I never felt unsafe. It is totally worth the price to do this.

The facilities are great! The gondola was a very pleasant ride. I suggest riding the gondola and walking the bridge back if you would like to cut the walk in half. You get a very good value for general admission. There is something for every family member and the sights are absolutely breathtaking. Every person should do this at least once.

We had such a good time. We did the CLOUDSCRAPER zipline experience, and it was beautiful. Walking the suspension bridge was a fun, additional activity. We had lunch there and the food was better than expected.

My husband and I ziplined over the Royal Gorge at the same time and the workers put a GoPro camera on my husbands wrist and it didn’t work when we got to the photo booth to view the pics. There wasn’t anyone manning the booth, so we asked the guys helping people off of the zipline and he just said there’s no guarantee that they will work. We checked at the front information desk and she gave us a piece of paper with the information of the photo company that manages all the pictures. My suggestion is that if no one is able to man the photo booth they at least need to have a sign stating there’s no guarantee and give the information to call the company. Also, put another gopro on the second person riding just in case the other doesn’t work. The zip lining experience was awesome and the bridge was so picturesque

We were told at noon that we would board in a few minutes, 1pm we finally boarded the train. We were told that because of Covid protocols we would have a table by ourselves. Then a couple said that they were sitting at our table. The hostess then filled us in on they pulled a couple of cars off ,and all those people are now filling the gaps. COVID protocols just left the train. 98% of the riders wore NO masks just the hostesses taking care of their car. Even though trains are supposed to be fully masked. So think before you ride. The food was really good and the ride was nice. So please be cautious and know that anything can happen to your ride time and COVID precautions are mearly suggestions.

Network service here is poor but the staff were really helpful in lending me a phone to call a cab. It was cold and windy, trembled a bit on the bridge but made it to the end and watched the video about the history of the bridge.
It was impressive to witness something truly magnificient.

We stopped here to relive a childhood experience for my husband. The sites and views were astounding. It has gotten a bit commercial, but the history of the bridge still makes the stop worth it. We were there in the fall so crowds were small, but a few things were closed.

Devin doing the bird show was amazing and knowledgeable. I work at a sanctuary in Florida and she taught me somethings I didn’t know. Honestly coming back just to see another of her shows. Everything else was beautiful as well but the bird show was just worth it.

I’ve been here in the past. The new visitors center was pleasant. The views are unchanged but always amazing. We enjoyed the gondola. It was never busy so we had the car to ourselves. We watched the movie and found it quite interesting. It is worth the entrance fee.

We got there at 10 am on a Saturday. It wasn’t busy. I think that is why we had so much fun! We rode the gondola over and zip lined back. Then we walked across the bridge. You can watch the white water rafters below! There is a great area for young children to climb and play. A theatre shows a 17 minute movie. We saw big horn sheep and goats roaming. We hiked up the hill to take the gondola back across. When we left, it was very busy! They have an app you can use to see wait times and get park information.

Aside from the bridge itself, a lot has changed since our last visit 19 years ago. Missed the zoo area on the opposite side of the Gorge, but the children's area was very nice. There are a lot of additional cost activities to do. It's not really an all-day activity, but the views are still breathtaking.

Take the gondola over and walk back on the bridge--a great experience with so many photo ops it's hard to know where to look. Definitely worth doing.

The scenery was amazing, as well as watching the gondola and all of the other activity. But, for people as myself who only want to walk across the bridge the admission is ridiculously overpriced! They need to have a two-tiered entry...with one price for bridge walkers and a higher price for those who want to participate in other activities. Have they never heard of a hand stamp??

We rafted the Arkansas River with a local outfitter and decided that we needed to visit the gorge and walk the bridge the following day so that we could appreciate both perspectives. We arrived when the park opened and this enabled us to get a decent parking spot. There was an overlook that was perfect for pictures adjacent to the parking lot. We entered via the nicely decorated visitor's center and paid a fee to enter the park. The bathrooms were very clean in the visitor's center and they had a decent assortment of souvenirs in the shop. We chose to ride the free gondola car across the gorge and I would definitely recommend that to anyone visiting. Once we arrived on the other side of the gorge we walked around and watched the video about the history of the park. They even had popcorn for purchase and artifacts on the perimeter of the theater. The movie was the perfect length and it was amazing to see how the bridge was built and to learn about the challenges the park has faced. We walked the bridge and found our state flag as we returned. The bridge was a bit unnerving because you could see the river below through the gaps. Hold onto your cell phone, but be sure to take a lot of pictures!

There is no doubt the view and the bridge are amazing, but I feel like I probably would have gotten more out of visiting somewhere else, like The Garden of the Gods. Just before I purchased my base-level ticket, the gondola and zipline had been closed due to wind. I just ended up walking across the bridge, getting a bottle of water (would have been wine but they only serve beer on that side), watching the film (was informative and I enjoyed it, but definitely geared toward entertaining the kids), and then walked back across the bridge and left. I would have gotten a snack but the food was pretty basic them park type of stuff. Great if you're there with kids, but not the experience I was looking for.
Things were off on the wrong foot because an irate man interrupted while I was buying my ticket, to complain about having spent $150 and then the gondola being shut down 5 minutes later. It wasn't the Park's fault that the guy was so rude, but I did kind of see his point that it wasn't made obvious anywhere that I noticed that the rides might shut down at any time and there were not refunds.
Tip - just before you cross the entrance into the park, there's a little dirt road to the left that has some picnic areas and a great view of the the valley and the bridge. If you want to save some money and don't mind missing out walking across the bridge, you might want to just drive up that free road.

Phew! The bridge MOVES WHEN YOU WALK ON IT. So, just know that. It's spectacular engineering to witness and walk across. We also did the gondola ride - which was mildly terrifying but exhilarating.

Not for anyone who cannot walk miles on their own uphill! I was shocked at how much hiking was involved. A few people had babies in strollers and it took 2 people to push the stroller up the long ramps to the next exhibit. Also, some paths are gravel. There is not much shade and few benches to rest.
The gondola line was long and moved very slowly. Be aware they pack in 8 people in each car, so don't count on being able to take pictures during the ride. The bridge was not nearly as scary as people made it out to be and the views are amazing!
You don't get much for your $32 entry fee except bragging rights. Ask for AAA discount of $2. Be prepared to park in the remote lots for even more walking.

The views from the bridge were beautiful. This disappointing part was the outrageous price. We paid $200 for my family of 6! The admission is supposed to include a gondola ride across the canyon. I had purchased our tickets online and was unaware that it was closed due to weather. So we paid $200 to walk on the bridge. The company should really consider lowering admission and then allowing the purchase of all other activities. The zipline and sky coaster were also very expensive to add on. This is truly a beautiful place but I probably would not chose to spend this much money on this again.

Royal Gorge was awesome! But we also did the via Ferrara and zip line which greatly added to our experience but was an additional expense!
We did the 1hour via ferrata & wished we would have done the 3 hours, our guide Jeremy was awesome and so knowledgeable! Zip line was also great!
You can ride the gondola more than once (included in your ticket) which was a nice suprise! Food was surprisingly good as well.

Royal Gorge is a beautiful natural site, that alone is worth seeing. The Royal Gorge Bridge and Park offers great views of the canyon. Included in the entry is the Gondola ride and access the magnificent bridge. The bridge is an spectacular feat of engineering and crossing offers the best views of the gorge neither the gondola or bridge is for the faint of heart, so keep that in mind. I think its best to take the Gondola across first then walk down to the bridge as this is mainly downhill. Other that that there are some playgrounds for kids, places to get food and a movie theater that also offers Raptor Shows. We did not participate in those activities, so I cant comment on them. There also offer some other activities for additional cost such as zip-lining which we did not do either.
All together we were at the park for slightly more than an hour, and while the gondola, gorge, bridge are all amazing and I understand need for maintenance for the park to function the entry feels overpriced. I still think its worth the trip though, a must if you are in the area, just wish it was cheaper.

What a great trip! Rainey and Breezy took great care of us in one of the dome cars! The views were fantastic and everyone was so friendly and helpful.

The gondola ride is included in the price of the ticket. We took it across and then walked back across the bridge back to the visitor center.

It was super windy when we went so all we could really do is the bridge but it was so much fun. The bridge was swaying back and forth and moving up and down like a wave. My kids and I were scared but it made exciting! I think it's a bit over priced so I probably wouldn't go out of my way to go back but glad we did it once!

This place is beautiful and a must see. A lot to do and see. Staff was great and helpful. October is the best time to go. Not as busy as summer months.

I would highly suggest not buying your tickets online until you are actually at the Royal Gorge. The reason for this is to avoid having the rides closed and you not receiving your money back. They have wi-fi available and you can still buy them the day of your adventure. I would ONLY buy the gondola ones online. I would purchase the sky coaster and zip line tickets separate in the actual lines. It’s the same exact price at the window as online for these two rides. The reason for this is due to the fact those rides shut down often. We had bought zip line tickets at the zip line booth and the ride shut down due to high winds minutes later. We waited over an hour and it still didn’t open. There should be way more communication with the employees and those waiting in line. Everyone was confused and became upset with zero communication. They were very hesitant giving us our money back and told us they would only refund due to the fact we had just purchased them at the ticket booth. If we had purchased them online we would have been out 104.00! So I highly, highly suggest you buy the tickets right before going on these rides. One of the zip line workers I approached on July 11th at the bottom of the zip-line was very rude and short in his explanation of the zip-line shutdowns and weight restrictions. I had been waiting for my kids to come down and they hadn’t yet and that worker didn’t care in the least. I approached Michael who was working at the gondolas and he was so kind, nice and informed me of all the regulations. He had outstanding customer service skills and went above and beyond. He explained the zip line is usually better in the AM with less winds. We arrived at noon.
We did participate in the sky coaster with three of us going and the workers there were a fun group! The brother and sister workers were hilarious! This ride is a thrill going out and over the canyon. They have a video you can purchase for 30.00. The suspension bridge is a thrill and we loved how it represented all the states with their flags. We brought our own food and didn’t try the food there. The prices were higher for food and drinks compared to other tourist places. We took our own water bottles. It would be nice if they offered the water bottle fillers here. The bird show was good and the instructor was fun! The vulture was hilarious! Before the bird show started they had a video of Royal Gorge and its history. Overall, it was a fun experience. We spent about 4 hours here. The pricing is a little more than I would pay, especially if the gondolas aren’t running, but who can predict the weather? One bad apple today and the rest pleasant! I’ll take that as a win!

absolutely beautiful. The gorge is a must see if visiting the area. colorado is such a wonderful state. this was a must see

We got here shortly after opening. Started with the gondola in case any weather arose and they closed it. Then we took the zipline over the canyon (zip lining 1000 feet above the Arkansas River was great) then walked back across the bridge, had a couple of beers and then watched the Native American dancers and went to the raptor show before leaving. Was a full morning, but we didn't feel rushed or crowded.

Just completed a 1 week vacay in Colorado. Went to Pikes Peak; Garden of the Gods; Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine; Estes Park; Rocky Mtn Natl Park; Red Rocks Park and Royal Gorge. Royal Gorge is by far the most breath-taking of all to see and a bargain for families on a budget. The aerial tram ride is spectacular and included in the entrance price. I rode the tram 4 times same day ... loved the views. The suspension bridge walk was fantastic. Canon City may be a bit of a drive, but you it is so worth it! I'll be back!

Very nice! We enjoyed our time and our fur baby was welcome. We all enjoyed it. Would go again, for sure!

We had a great time with our family of adults and small kiddos
The view was incredible!
We took the gondola from the visitor center across the Gorge and then played on the playground. My kids loved the playground and it was a great place for them to get some energy out. There is a small splash pad there which was nice since it was a warm day. After that we went to the bird show and my daughter loved it. Then we walked the bridge back across. If you have small children or just don’t want to walk up a hill I would suggest riding the gondola from the visitor center over the Gorge. Then walk the bridge back all you have to do is walk down hill 😀👍🏻

The walk across the bridge is worth the visit alone. We arrived early to beat the crowds and glad we did. It was a fairly windy day so unfortunately the gondola and ziplines were closed for safety matters however we took our time strolling across the bridge viewing the deep gorge, the Arkansas River with the surrounding mountains from both sides of the bridge. If you look at the distant hills, you can see the scorched hilltops where the wild fire from about eight years ago burned many thousands of aces around the Royal Gorge Park; unfortunately the cogwheel train that used to take you down in the gorge was destroyed by the fire. We had great view from many different vantage points however any distant landscape pictures you would take would turn out hazy due to the multiple wild fires in California and Oregon. We were disappointed that there was no food available after walking across the bridge; we did have lunch when we returned back over the bridge in the main visitors center; we found out that they are short staffed and couldn't staff the other restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and definitely would come again. The entry price seems a bit high as we only walked across the bridge; we would rather have the amenities individually priced (ziplines and some other activities do have a separate charge). Enjoy your visit!

First time at this location. One price lets you do a lot of things. Also a souvenir cup with free refills all day long at any location.
Wife was scared of heights but road the gondola 3 times and walked across the bridge. Had a wonderful time.

We decided to visit the Royal Gorge at the last minute after some plans changed. It was a little out of our way but we are glad we took the time to go. We bought tickets online and saved a few bucks. After that, entry was very easy. The views of the gorge are amazing. We took the aerial tram over, which offered great views, and walked back over the bridge. There's a movie that covers the development and construction of the bridge that's included. There are also some extra charge attractions like a zip line and swing.....we didn't do those.
The bridge is an easy walk and offers great views. There are hills on either side and are somewhat more difficult. After our walk, we decided to take the tram over and back to enjoy the views. After we got to the far side, the wind had picked up and the tram had to shut down. I was concerned about the walk back due to some back issues and another visitor had a similar problem. The tram operator took the time to get a golf cart and took us back to the other side. This was very nice and much appreciated......great guest service.
We highly recommend this attraction.

So glad we decided to see this wonder! Beautiful views, nice gift shop, fun crossing the bridge and seeing the movie, finding our state flag on the bridge. Too windy for yhe gondolas, disappointing but understood. Landscaping was beautiful!

We had a wonderful time at the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park. My two teenage sons took part in the Via Feratta rock climbing. The play set is wonderful for my two younger girls all while my mom and I could sit and watch in comfort.

Free view of the gorge and bridge. Used to be an overlook but a local we talked to said the company didn't want people to see it without paying. Take co hwy 61 off the main hwy and take an unpaved rough road to a small parking area on Blm land. Steep an narrow and twisty at spots, so might need awd or 4wd. Saw some rafters on the river too. Nice views.

Absolutely incredible time doing the Via Ferrata Royal Tour with Don and Kyle. Worth every penny. We had our 14-year old son with us, and the two of them made us feel very reassured about bringing him. Equipment, guiding, instruction and care were all first rate.
While by no means easy, my son and I had very little prior climbing experience and made it through the course just fine. Climbing the Royal, up the spine, we’ll remember those views - up, around and down (!) - forever.
Can’t say enough good things about this, just challenging and fun fun fun!

I am so disappointed with the Royal Gorge Route Railroad. So much so, I don't know even know where to start. My daughter and I drove for over two hours to get to the boarding station at gate 2 (Canyon Top Dome 68) on July 30, 2023. We were seated in a very small u-shaped booth which had absolutely no view of the outside. This booth (row 702 seats 1 and 2) could've fit two people in it reasonably comfortable, but we were crammed in it with two other people with no leg or arm room what so ever! The price we paid for these tickets compared to what we received is a total rip off! I would continue with my review, but I think you get the point. The advertisements and brochure's make it look beautiful but the actual experience? Not so much. Definitely would not recommend. To anyone!

Eating local was my favorite part. Canon City Mugs is farm to table and delicious! They roast their own coffee beans as well.
We did NOT pay $32.00 per person to walk across the bridge.
We loved the dinner train which stops under the bridge as a photo opportunity at night. Our server was awesome as well.

Check the wind speed before you go. If with wind is ~30 MPH, the gondola will not be running. Call ahead to confirm if this is a requirement for you.
As a few others have noted, although it is not posted on the website/app, you will receive a nice discount if you purchase your tickets before 10am. I believe it was $21 (vs $30) per adult, with a similar discount for other categories.
The theater on the other side of the bridge has a 17 minute video. The video had a high production quality, and was pretty entertaining for all ages. There are some newspaper clippings and other artifacts in the room, so go a few minutes early to check these out.
We went early on a weekday, so there were no wait or a short wait for the gondola. I could definitely see how this would not be the case during the high season or weekends however.
Overall I was skeptical of the value given the ticket price, but the overall experience was excellent and I would highly recommend. The included gondola rides were great, and we spent over an hour playing in the playground.

Pretty expensive considering all you really get are views from a bridge. We did do the Gondola across which was cool, but still, just views. Nothing else really stuck out to my family. The views were great, but not sure it was worth the drive time from our cabin.

Just as other reviews mention it does seem overpriced, that being said, you do get a gondola ride - definitely would not be worth it if the gondola was not running however. I wish we had listened to previous reviews that said to ride the gondola over and walk the bridge back…that way you will be walking down hill instead of uphill! It didn’t work out for us as we arrived before they were actually open and the gondola was not running yet so we walked across the bridge and trudged uphill to the gondola. One of my daughters usually does not do well on bridges, especially suspension bridges but she did mostly fine on this bridge! We definitely enjoyed the Royal Gorge!

Very reasonable entry price with a lot included, bridge crossing, gondola ride, great visitors center and restaurant. Highly recommended for families, photo opps and activities.

Overpriced for what you get. We walked across the bridge and back because gondola not running because of wind. Went into theater to see short movie, very juvenile. Man who came in and spoke before film kept his back turned to the audience the whole time….looking at an empty screen. We, and most of the audience, were all laughing because no one could understand a word he was saying! View from the bridge was great but certainly not worth $35 each!

We had an amazing day. We did the 1 hour discovery via Ferrata and our oldest son did the Revelation tour. It was so fun on March 16, 2025. Our daughter was a little nervous as she hadn’t done anything like it, but she loved it also. The guides were so patient and helpful and it felt very safe. We loved the sky coaster, A couple of us were able to do the zip line but it closed down due to high winds. Such a great experience!!

The communication on the status of the parks' "adventure" rides being open and the person selling tickets needs a dramatic improvement. We specifically asked if the Gondola was currently open as we didn't feel spending $150 to cross the bridge was worth the cost. We were assured it was open. We wished to also do the zip line but that was shut down due to wind, which we were informed happens all the time. After purchase we immediately went to the Gondola and were told it was shutdown due to winds. After waiting 30 minutes and watching the line completely empty, it was apparent this ride was not going to run for a long period, if at all, and since the tickets are non-refundable, we ended up in the exact situation we asked to avoid. Why sell tickets when the rides are shut down? Why not at least offer a partial refund or a future ticket so the customer can have a chance to enjoy the full services they paid for? I was further disappointed to watch folks well after the ride was stopped rolling out of the ticket doors and heading over there for the rides they just paid just like us and going to run into the same disappointment. You know what was fully operational? Every POS, gift shop, slushy, of BBQ/Food places - giving the feeling of being a tourist trap. The views are absolutely beautiful but as others have mentioned - you can get free views of the Gorge prior to entering their park area and still experience its beauty.

Oscar did a great job in explaining how to do the climb safely, encouraging us, and even taking photos for us! Check-in was easy and the staff was very weather aware to get make sure we didn’t run into problems. The scenery is gorgeous- would definitely go again!

been here as a part of group tour to explore amazing nature with scenic view. Me, as a photographer really enjoyed this beauty.

I give this place a 5 for the experience and service. Unfortunately, having to shell out $128 for a family of four is pretty ridiculous. All we wanted to do is take the gondola across and take some photos. The other added amenities we could have done without. I would recommend checking to make sure the gondola is operating before purchasing tickets because the ride is considered a “free” option.

Oh my gosh, The Royal Gorge is amazing. First we took the train that runs down at the bottom of the gorge. They have 3 different tickets for the seats. We did coach which turned out to be OK. At first I wasn't sure because you sit directly across from other people. Almost knees touching & definitely no leg room. But we were lucky, it was nowhere near a full car, so once the train got to moving, we could too. Of course we spent most of the ride out in the open car anyhow. After that we went up to the top. Immediately we rode the gondola. Which I was petrified but I loved it. Though I recommend doing first. That way you walk down the hill to the bridge. Definitely a must see.

Riding the tractor across the bridge on 10/16/2021. I think tractor should be more handicapped friendly to transport someone in a wheelchair

We visited during the week in mid-August, and surprisingly many concessions were not open. If you are active or retired military, don't buy online tickets in advance; a discount is available on site with proper ID. A day ticket is good for two days; ask before you leave to get validation. The entry fee is a tad expensive; $30 online, $32 on site, $25 children. Entry fee gets you ride across on gondola, entrance to theater and use of playground. The Plaza Theater shows a film about the geological history of the area, but little about the actual construction of the bridge. In my opinion, the film was made to keep kid's attention with a cartoon element and was a tad silly. More information about the building of the bridge, which is a feat of engineering, would have been a lot more interesting. There was also a nature exhibition of raptors, which included an owl, an European buzzard, and a vulture. Interesting, but the presenter's microphone muffled her voice, which at times was hard to understand. I recommend taking the gondola over and walking back across the bridge. There are many viewpoints with spectacular options for photography on both sides of the bridge. I recommend wearing good walking shoes or sandals, no flip flops as trails can be steep and sometimes uneven.

What a view you will get. Take the Gondola over and walk the bridge back. We were there when a lot of things were closed. Guess it was the time of the year, Oct 31. They do have a good movie about the building of the bridge and it's history. Take lots of pictures. You won't be this high up without being in a plane.

I had seen this on "Things to do" around Glenwood Springs. My spouse and I loved the park. We agreed it was a bit expensive, but we did the Via Ferrata, so that included the price of our entrance into the park. The Via Ferrata was FANTASTIC, and Dylan and James could not have been better guides. They even cut our trip short to accommodate my spouse who could not climb anymore. We loved all the flags on the bridge, and of course, walking the bridge itself.

The Royal Gorge is a great Colorado stop. Buy your tickets online to save $2 but you will still pay $20 age 6-12 or $25 13-up. The ticket allows you to ride the gondola and to walk the bridge. Our granddaughters enjoyed the treehouse but the carousel was not open.

My family and I feel that this venue is overrated... it is nice, but it is not set up for those who do not walk much or who are not very agile on their feet. If you take the gondola first, then you will walk DOWN the hill to the other events and the bridge. The two problems are (1) the grading on the hill(s) are steep and some of the walking areas are gravel, which slips under your feet - so walk very carefully and hold on to your neighbor. (2) they advertise that there is a bus that will take you from point A to point B, but it was not available in the morning we visited; I understand that the bus takes 40 minutes to do a circle route......and waiting in the hot sun (90+ degrees) is not a good idea ..... and water is a charged event. They have no transfer or assistance when you return from the bridge and walk up the very steep hill back to the visitor center. This cardiac hill.

I was disappointed this time around. Though it's been years since I was last here, I think that the changes have resulted in this location being a bit "sterile". The " small town" look is gone, opting for a "cleaner" look that, for me, takes away the original ambiance of this location. I am also disappointed that the vertical railway is no longer working. I've enjoyed going down to the river level in the past.
The view is still breathtaking and worth the visit, but the gift shop is much smaller than it was in the past, this limits the selection. The cafeteria is the same way. Overall the experience was average, except for the view which is spectacular.

This was an amazing experience! It was worth the upgrade for the deluxe car! The open air car was the best! Lots of information and beautiful scenery.

Total rip off. High winds this day. All interesting and pertinent information for this attraction was on the other side. Bridge platform was very unstable to walk across however younger and more daring people did. No other options to get across when asking about it we were told the price was to just look. Really? It’s just another bridge unless you know its history. And the theater on the other side had this.
There is a YouTube on this so save yourself the drive and the $26 per person price to “look” at a steel bridge.

We walked the bridge which was great, but not sure that it’s worth $70 for 2 adults. I believe the gondola ride was included but we did not ride it as I’m terrified of heights and already struggled with the moving wooden plank bridge that tractors and jeeps were crossing! !!

The view is just spectacular! We love that the gondola price is included in the admission price. Suggestion...walk across the bridge first and bring the gondola back over. The line is much shorter on the other side. We waited in the gondola line longer than we wanted on the visitor center side. We enjoyed our time here, so much to see!

April 2023, no crowds, and the weather was perfect. This is a suspense bridge but NOT a swinging bridge. The walk across was easy. My husband rode the gondola back to the main entrance side but I walked across the bridge and back. The views of the Arkansas River and the mountains were beautiful. If we had more time we would have booked the train ride through the gorge.

We did the 2 hour Jeep tour and it was so the best-especially because of our tour guide “Smokey”! He is the best! I HIGHLY recommend that you do the tour request him and if you have to wait for him I promise it will be worth it, he made the whole experience completely amazing!! He is so fun and down to earth!!!! Attached is a picture of my family with Smokey

There are some terrific views and photo opportunities here. However, the price is really high. The day we went the aerial gondola was not operating. We were told that was due to lightning in the area. I never saw any, but I also don’t know their required safety radius for lightning. It was also very windy, which might have contributed. But when you’re paying that much to get in, it’s a real bummer not to get to take advantage of all the attractions included in the admission price. I don’t regret going, but I don’t think I’d ever go back a second time. There are many other beautiful vistas to see throughout the area.

Wish we'd planned a little more time here. Didn't get to watch the free movie, that I'm sure was very interesting. Walking across the bridge was a little scary for myself and one daughter, but was definitely worth it. Beautiful view of the gorge. Park area was landscaped with many flowers and shrubs. Very clean. Did offer military discount.

It was a truly amazing experience, with beautiful mountains, and we thoroughly enjoyed the walk on the bridge. We had a wonderful time there. My grandson especially loved riding the carousel, getting into the trains.

During our stay in Colorado Springs 16 years ago my husband didn't want to make the drive to see the Gorge. This time I insisted, and boy and I glad I did. The view is breathtaking, the gondola ride exhilarating and the staff was friendly.

NOT worth the money! The gondola (which is part of the ticket price) is shut down half the time because of the wind, maintenance or repair. The carousel and splash pad were closed and a person in my group lost $10 on the arcade because the person called to “fix” it was too busy. $32 to walk across a bridge. “Sorry” was all the ranger offered when our negative experience was shared.

Not much value. Gondolas not in operation due to high winds. Yet no reduction in ticket price. Have already advised many others to be aware. There are other things to do in the area that provide better value. Food - typical high priced tourist stuff.

Disappointed!!!! I had so looked forward to seeing the suspension bridge over the Arkansas River at the Royal Gorge Park! I had been here as a child & wanted to experience this again! But I had no interest in walking across the bridge, riding the gondola, or any of the other ‘tourist’ stuff they now offer. But the only way we could actually SEE the bridge was to pay the FULL price that they charge to cross the bridge, ride the gondolas, etc. We wouldn’t have minded paying a small fee to LOOK, but to charge the same to only look as you charge for all the other activities seems very unfair - maybe bordering on being a ‘tourist trap!’

This is a must-see! We decided to visit the bridge & park when the train was booked. It’s an amazing view and you could spend hours here with kids.
I saw lots of reviews on here complaining about the price. The $30 per person gets you access to the bridge, a play area for kids with carousel, as well as a gondola ride across the gorge. You pay extra for rock climbing, zip lining, and the sky coaster swing. There’s also a restaurant, as well as drink and dessert vendors. Before you pay, there are signs that tell you what attractions are open or closed. And the attendant who gave us our tickets was very clear about the weather policy.
When we went, there was a storm about 25 miles out. So, the zipline was down. And they told us multiple times how far out the storm could get before they would shut down other attractions.
It was a really great experience for our crew - and we thought it was a good value!

This was not worth the money. IF you don't listen and do this-ride the gondola FIRST! if not you walk up hill and depending on time you may wait for hours to ride! Think about the time of ride of gondola-no AC and standing in line in heat! Again-not worth the money in my opinion. I asked if walking the bridge was free-they responded with yes-they didn't say with the cost of admission-I believe it's around $32 per person. SKIP THIS!

Scam. Not worth the money. All there is to do is walk across a bridge unless you want to pay 5 billion dollars a person. Would not recommend.

A little disappointed. Came to do the Via ferrata. My 10 year old is a huge Alex Honnould fan and wanted to climb like him. The website gives an age requirement but when we arrived we found out there is also a weight requirement of 88 pounds. The staff was very apologetic and state they are trying to get management to update the website with no luck yet. Apparently this has been a BIG problem. My son was devastated. Otherwise, the bridge and gorge are neat but I would recommend doing a rafting trip down the gorge instead. We couldn’t book one last minute unfortunately .

Such a grand sight of nature’s beauty! We arrived before 9 am, so parking was a breeze. Once able to go into the visitor’s center, we strolled around outside thinking about trying the gondola, but didn’t want to wait an hour for it to open. Everything was so clean and spacious and well decorated. I was hesitant to make the trek over the bridge and back again, but I’m so glad I did! The view was spectacular! We enjoyed the short video in the theater showing the history of the bridge. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

Our guide was Ben and he made my our experience one to remember!!!!! So much fun! Highly recommend Royal Gorge!

We almost didn't go here but so glad we did. There are no words to describe the views here. We even saw big horned sheep, which was super exciting. The gondola was closed b/c of high winds but I am not so sure I could have made myself get on it anyway.

Being the highest suspension bridge in North America is special in itself. The views are amazing and the beauty is everywhere. Seeing the train pass below adds to the interest. Gondola trip over the gorge is wonderful. Highly recommend.

The Bridge is obviously the main draw here, and it did not disappoint. The view of the gorge is amazing. The new visitors center is very nice, although we didn't Checkout the Cafe or gift shop. We did not checkout the gondola or swing, but did watch the Native American dancers and watched the movie and raptor show, which was very interesting. We were disappointed that the carousel, bbq cafe, and several other kids activities were not staffed and therefore closed. Would still recommend this stop.

OMG it is really highhhhhhhh and if it's windy hold on to your stuff. Very beautiful piece of work done here. Has other attractions in the park for children and young adults to do as well.

FREE Overlook! Earth Maps Apps to the Rescue! No Fees - just as Nature intended. There is easy, non-touristy solution if you just want to experience the majesty of the Royal Gorge and see the Bridge from afar with the River and Train below. About a mile before the Park at the crest of entry road 3A is a spur road across from a small dirt parking area. It leads to the Elkhorn Loop Overlook and Picnic Area. Easy parking and a short 100 yard cactus trail hike to the Edge of the Canyon. No lines, no fees, no amusement park atmosphere. Inspiring, awesome, and Instagram selfie views. Cheap and real.

We had our dogs with us, so it wasn't possible to do the zipline. However we had a million dollar view just looking into the gorge. If geology is you thing, don't miss this.

Great fun with wife and teen kids. I recommend the Via Ferrata for a strenuous challenge. Kids enjoyed the SkyCoaster.
Get there early if you want to ride the zip-line.

Not worth the money or the time. Hours were listed wrong on brochure and we even called to confirm hours and we’re told wrong. 3 out of 3 staff were rude but they probably get a lot of complaints

Great park! Beautiful gorge. The gondola ride gave a good view of the gorge although the windows were dirty and scratched. Zipline was fun, basically sitting in a chair strapped in. The 2 workers weren’t particularly friendly, one of them attaching the zipline yelled down to people waiting to stay out of the registration barn. (There was nobody there to take waivers and payment so they sent all who had registered down the zipline then she had to come down to register the 20 people waiting). The bridge was an easy walk and so wide that I couldn’t feel it sway. There was also a lot for children to do in the kids’ area.

The experience of this bridge and park is an American treasure. We got there 8:30 and got the 'early bird' admission rate. When we got to the bridge we were the only ones on it. The views are spectacular. We rode the gondola, which was interesting. There is much to explore and we walked back and forth across the bridge three times. On one trip we saw the Royal Gorge Railroad train far below. I hope one day to bring my grandchildren here.

Royal Gorge Via Ferrata is a must-do experience. The company is run by a friendly, efficient and knowledgeable team that prioritizes safety and maintains their equipment with care. Group sizes are kept small (max five climbers), and a variety of tour lengths and routes accommodate different fitness and comfort levels. The routes are well designed and the scenery is stunning—you can’t go wrong.
I chose the Royal Tour, and our guide, Collin, was outstanding. Collin encouraged us to personalize our climb, using the iron rungs as optional tools. This gave us the freedom to safely scramble and choose how to approach obstacles, making the experience feel both challenging and empowering. Collin was friendly, encouraging and set a manageable pace. Under Collin’s guide, I had an exceptional adventure that felt uniquely tailored to me.
Tips for Future Climbers:
Arrival:
Arrive at least 30 minutes before your tour time. It’s a long walk across the iconic suspension bridge from the entrance to the Via Ferrata check-in area.
What’s Provided at the Via Ferrata Site:
Complimentary use of lockers and locks
Approach shoes and all safety gear
What to Bring:
Hydration pack with at least 3 liters of water (for 3+ hour tours)
Packed lunch and snacks – there is no food or snacks available on-site between Labor Day and Memorial Day, except at the distant entrance
Sun protection: long-sleeve sun shirt or high-SPF sunscreen
Sunglasses with a retainer strap
Brimmed hat or visor (no buttons or bulky seams on top, so it fits under your helmet)
Optional but Helpful:
Fingerless work gloves
Phone tether or lanyard

It is disappointing that as you approach the visitor’s center any view of the gorge is blocked off. Only the middle class or more can afford tickets just to see the gorge at these prices. This attraction is not for any person who is on a budget. It is shame that such a site is off limits to much of America because of the price. As I understand it, this is owned by the city of Canon which makes it all the more disappointing this gorge is off limits to many individual because of the price.

I personally am terrified of heights so you might want to listen to my review lol but here’s my experience… I came here on family vacation and was too afraid to walk across the bridge (if this is/was you, don’t feel alone!) so i just stayed on the one side while my family walked there and back. I walked around a bit and just admired the view. Surprisingly, I was up for riding the gondola and rode it there and back and personally found it less scary than the bridge. My family all disagrees and liked the bridge better. Overall, it was really pretty and had gorgeous views but I wouldn’t pay money like that for it again, especially now knowing that I am too scared to actually go across. I think that if your up for walking across then go for it but if your like me and scared of heights this might be a good place for you to avoid. I don’t have anything against the park or anything just know yourself and your limits and make the right decision for yourself and your family. And also remember that there’s nothing wrong with being scared and your not the only one who feels that way. I’m all for facing your fears but don’t push yourself too much.

I am so glad I did the visit, it was back in 2019 (i am not alloewed to select that far back on this site)...but I had grown up in colorado never visiting. It was one of my bucket list items to do.
The Royal Gorge Bridge was awesome to visit and the gondola ride was amazing!!and don't forget-- there's a train that you can take as well.
The train ride was great and there's a cart you can go outside to view the ride while traveling.
I would encourage others to visit and heck I wouldn't mind going again.

There was excellent scenery at Royal Gorge and many opportunities to test your fear of heights, crossing the bridge, taking a gondola, ziplining or swinging over the canyon. Just to get in for two adults was over $60, which seemed very steep. We were glad to do it but you're going to pay for it. Must be terrible crowds during the summer.

Not worth the drive for $40 a car load. The visitors center closed at 4 and it’s dark at the first Tour so you can’t see the gorge.
The elves are super creepy they decorated with.

It's interesting to walk the bridge and look down and see the flags from every state in the US attached to it. For those that can't walk well, that's about it and not worth the price. You can go to a theater that talks about birds or take a gondola trip across (basically the same thing as walking but faster). There are fun activities for families with kids including a park and ziplining. Yes, there are exceptions and I know there are those in their 70's that you can't slow down. Just saying that if you get out of breath easily in Colorado and have trouble walking, just give this a pass.

Royal Gorge is always an amazing place. This is my third time here and it never ceases to be a great visit. On this visit, the wind was howling around 30 mph. I thought they would not allow anyone to cross over the bridge, but I was wrong. My wife and I enjoyed the views, walked across the bridge, and took a lot of pictures.
The zip line was running until someone ended up stuck over the gorge due to the winds. So we watched the rescue. Sort of reminded me of CliffHanger the movie. After they pulled the lady to safety, they shut down all the rides ( Gondola and Zip lines) we went to the theatre on the other side of the bridge. While we were waiting, we struck up a conversation with Tom. He was super nice and took time to tell us other places we could go to see Rocky Mountains vistas and places to visit. Tom was so helpful and genuinely pleasant. He also explained while it can become so windy here at Royal Gorge.
As for the Bridge and the gorge, this is well worth a trip. Beautiful views and interesting geology. I would definitely check out the restaurant at Royal Gorge. it is a spacious area with big windows to allow one to see the landscape. we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and the burgers were excellent! Like any other vacation or sightseeing place like this, it can get pricey.
If you are visiting the Rocky Mountain front range, this attraction needs to be on one’s list of places to visit.

Visited with family on a day that was fairly windy and so our time on the bridge was limited and the tram from one side of the gorge to the other was shut down due to the winds. We did get some really good pictures but time spent there was really short for the drive.

If all you want to do is cross the bridge it shouldn't cost $37 to do so. Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Glacier, even Carlsbad Caverns don't charge such and disgusting and outrageous greedy price for virtually nothing. Colorado should be ashamed of themselves charging this kind of fee. The gondola, zippline included in this fee? Not on your life. So for $37 you get to walk half a mile to the bridge, look down, cross it if you please and that's it. Again the Grand Canyon alone you can walk around, with more to see and do for much less. Save your money, don't waste it here. P.S. it's really the principle to the whole fee here. It's like paying something marked up a thousand percent because they can. Well they can keep it because I wasn't wasting that kind of money for nothing. Again, shame.in you Colorado.

This was one of our stops 25 years ago on our honeymoon that we revisited. The drive up to the gorge and the facilities around the bridge were very clean, not extremely crowded even for peak season. Definately a cool place to visit.

We did the gondola, bridge and skycoaster during our visit. Had a great time and the view were amazing. Wish we had more time to spend here as there was a lot more to do!

Against my better judgement, I returned to the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park on April 7, 2023. A sunny day with no wind, but the gondola had been closed down earlier in the afternoon and all the staff was sent home. I arrived at 4:02 pm with three hours before the sunset and bought 5 tickets for my group at a price of $135.00. Only after I had paid did the manager tell me that the park was closing in less than an hour. Only after I had paid! When I bought the tickets online, there was no mention of a 5:00 pm closing. I then asked why the park closed so early, her response was because the sun was going down and it would get dark, I replied, "The sun goes down after 7:00 pm in early April!" She responded that management was trying to cut staffing costs and 5:00 pm is 5:00 pm! AND she said that next month, the price of admission is going up to $35.00 per person! Once again... A TOTAL RIP-OFF!!! You will be extremely disappointed with your experience at this miserable cash grab!

We were in Colorado Springs for a couple of days on Spring Break and wanted to go across the bridge. We drove out on a day with a high wind warning and I do not recommend this even if it means you miss the activity during your trip. It was a big drive from Colorado Springs and a storm came over the mountains that wasn’t in the weather and hit while we were on the bridge. All the activities were closed except for the bridge itself and the playground. Just a warning, their website didn’t note these closures and we only found out when we got there. Apparently most of the park closes during high wind warnings. The wind was blowing so hard we thought it would blow us over. And this time of year it was so cold and with the wind blowing that hard it made it not as enjoyable.

You have to experience it to appreciate it. The walk across the bridge is amazing, the Sky-coaster, Ziplines and Gondola over the Gorge are breathtaking.

We loved our time here!! Rode the gondola over and walked the bridge back. Amazing views! Wanted to zipline back, but the winds made it to where you had to weigh at least 150lbs. Maybe next time! We watched a great Birds of Prey show in the theater. A/C and concessions were nice in there. Had ice cream after the walk over the bridge.... expensive, but good. Bought the picture they took of us as a souvenir. I recommend this stop to everyone!

Definitely a sight to see! It was very windy the day we were there and they ended up shutting down the gondola. Disappointing, but we want to be safe. We walked the bridge across and that was more of an adventure than expected. The wind was making the suspension bridge move a bit adding to the thrill of the crossing! We didn’t pay for the activities there, but there is plenty to do.

This was a bit of a disappointment. It looked bigger online LOL. Also, for the fee, if you don't have kids (play area), or care for the gondola ride, or if there's nothing at the theater (more suited to kids IMO), then really you're left with the bridge itself. While it is cool, it was way overpriced. But the more you look around and look at what additional things you can buy and then really start to understand this is a city 'park' if you will, you understand best that it is all about the money. I think that as they continue to add things on, it will become an amusement park of some sort bc it has the set up of one!
A couple of things, it's a lot of downhill walking to get to the bridge and what walks down must walk back up to the parking area! Parking was pretty full when we went. They do have an ice cream place when you come walking back up to the main building!
Overall to me, single and without kids, it was 'meh'. I think if you have kids (teenagers or smaller) they would like it and it could be worth the ga-zillion dollars u will pay!

As I said in the title you can pay $39 plus taxes to get you adrenaline pumped. For me it's not the case I could maybe go on deck but no way to pay for it so I looked at it from the point of view arranged. Otherwise if you like this zip-line and swing in the void will delight you.

This was a day off a lifetime. We rode the gondola across, the the Zipline back followed by a walk across the bridge. It was worth every penny!

We enjoyed the gondola ride and walking across the bridge. Wish we would have done the zip line, but didn't want to spend the extra money.
The scenery is amazing and surpassed expectations.
A movie is included with the price of admission - it is worth watching to learn the history.

The gorge is beautiful, but if you use a wheelchair be warned... it is NOT wheelchair friendly. The ticket building and Gondola are accessible, but to get to the bridge or anything on the south side, you'll need help. The inclines / declines that are required are very long and steep. They do have shuttles, but those are not accessible either. The train through the gorge (separate venue) was very accessible (as long as your chair is 24" wide or less).

Very beautiful views from the bridge, a river below and lots of mountains. There is zip lining and other activities if you’re into that, there is also a restaurant and gift shop. Cash and credit card accepted, such as touch to pay if you’re wondering.

The gorge is so beautiful and dramatic; the bridge is an amazing feat of engineering! But my experience was very much detracted by loud and intrusive music playing on loudspeakers throughout the park, especially everywhere you would sit to rest. It wasn’t the type of music- there was a wide variety and some that I personally liked- but I just wondered WHY anybody thought it was necessary!?

Nice place to walk and take in the sights. Plenty of places to rest and enjoy a bite to eat and drink.

We had a brief visit while on our Jeep Tour then we went back when the tour was over. The park is awesome, the views were amazing! The wind caused everything to be shut down, not that we planned to do any of them, but if we were to go back I would do the train as I'm sure that view is beautiful!

What an incredible place to visit. Our family arrived when they opened, which made for a perfect visit - cooler weather, no lines, and by the time we were leaving the park, majority of crowds were really coming in. So, recommend arriving early! The gondola was wonderful and a great way to get across, experience all the stops along the way to the bridge to walk back across to the main building. We were able to get in the skycoaster - teens loved it and only 2 people in line ahead of us, so no real wait. Everything about it was wonderful; the only drawback IMO was the food - it was EXPENSIVE. We went ahead and ate lunch there, but hefty price tag. I'm sure its a way to support the park, but honestly, just drive into Canon City and find a place there. The food was good, but the price wasn't worth it ($6 for a 16oz solo cup of soda that you could NOT have a refill on). Plan on 3 hrs to get the full experience (depending on the crowds, of course). Even though the food was pricey, loved every minute of this visit. We'll be back!

I was driving through this area in late June. The Royal gorge Bridge is located off rt 50 near Canon City. You have to drive down a side road about 7 miles. Part of the road is a little up and down. There is a lot of parking which is pretty close to the visitors center. I walked in and had to pay I think $20 to get in. I walked outside where you can walk across the which if your afraid of heights is scary. There is a railroad a 1,000 feet below, near the river. I also saw kayaks in the water which was amazing. It was blazing hot though so be prepared. On the other side of the Gorge is a zip line to take across the Gorge. Definitely don't do it if your afraid of heights. Its crazy but if it's on your bucket list it will be memorable. The one thing that drove me crazy is the restaurant on the zip line side. The food was almost edible, but they were playing the music so loud I couldn't think. The fact that I was in such a gorgeous area feeling like I was in Las Vegas was a bummer. If you have kids, its worth spending couple of hours.

We had a great afternoon. We rode the Gondola across, my husband rode the sky coaster, we walked across the bridge. Had a great afternoon.

Royal gorge bridge is worth a stop if you have some extra money and want to walk across a bridge that's over a 1000 drop to the river. It's a one and done deal, wouldn't go back but glad we stopped.

Let me save you some heartache.. Do the zipline first thing in the morning. We decided to do other things first. By the time we got around to the zipline the weather had turned and it didnt run the rest of the day. Quite a kick in the teeth if you drive for hours to get there. They dont tell you that it happens frequently. its really a joke that they havent figured out how to make the zip line more stable in a VERY little wind that always is blowing. Its also disappointing that you have to drag the information out of them as I asked several people and usually got a shoulder shrug.
Its a stunningly beautiful place and worth the trip. Cheap kid food. Gondola was very noice with amazing views of the gorge and river , train tracks below.
Props to young lady who helped us not have top pay again to come back the following morning to zipline. Otherwise if you dont ask you are out the money, which is the policy.
We paid for the skyline ride which we thought was another zipline due to the limited description but was actually a giant teathered swing that make many people sick. We decided not to take the chance and had to eat that charge.

My son & I had plan on visiting this place a couple of years ago but didn’t go, this time we finally went it was worth it. It was a little windy, couldn’t take them tram across the river. The views over the bridge were breathtaking.

We spent the night in Canon City and was able to arrive at Royal Gorge Bridge and Park Just as it was opening for the Day. We quickly purchased our tickets and proceeded to walk across the Bridge. Seeing and hearing the river almost 1,000 feet below was amazing. As you walk across the bridge each states flag is displayed and I had to stop and get a picture with the Virginia Flag (my home state). The views from the bridge are spectacular and in almost every direction. As we approached the south side of the bridge, we saw a several big horn sheep scampering around on the rock. Our ticket included a gondola ride across the gorge which afforded us a spectacular view of the Bridge and gorge. Because we arrived early there were no lines and we were able to enjoy the Bridge and the other attractions at our leisure. Several people in our group did the Sky coaster and the zip line and said it was totally amazing. All the employees that we encountered were polite, Professional and went out of their way to be helpful. Like most attractions the concessions prices are inflated. $3.00 for a Bottle of water is high but is in line with most other attractions. All total we spent almost two hours here and had a most enjoyable experience.

Great scenery and the gondola was very exciting to my children. Everything was clean and organized. We did not wait more than 5 minutes to ride the gondola 2x.

I've been to Royal Gorge numerous times and always loved it. Parked, walked the bridge and roamed around, spent my time enjoying. We drove an hour from COS only to find out that now it's $20 a person to even cross the bridge! We are not about to shell out $40 to walk across a bridge that's always been free. These folks could make their money on the ziplining, bungie ride, rafting, dog kennels, and cable car. Ridiculous and so disappointing. Just like everywhere else, reaching into someone's pocket.

We visited in the later in the day and did have to drive around till someone left to get a parking spot but it people were leaving so it wasn't long before we got a spot.
The $30 to get in is a little expensive but it was fun to walk across the bridge and ride the gondola back. If I had to do it again, I would ride the gondola first and walk back. That way it would be a downhill walk to the bridge.
We did stop at the theater to take in the history of the park and the bird show afterwards. We caught the last bird show at 4:00pm. The history of the park was interesting but not for little kids. The bird show was amazing and the trainer was very informative in a way that kept your attention while you were learning about the birds. Definitely catch it if you can.
Some of the extras looked very fun to do but unfortunately we didn't have the time to do any of them. Look up the Via Ferrata before you go to see if it's something you would want to do.

If you have not been to the Royal Gorge in a while, they have done A LOT of work since the fire a few years ago. Guests cannot drive across the bridge and longer nor can you ride down to the bottom of the gorge, but all of the facilities are new, they have food service options, a nice kids play area on the other side of the gorge, and you can even zipline across the gorge. It is not cheap but it is pretty fun and worth doing if you get a chance. You will want to go early in the day if you visit in the summer as weather is a REAL factor for some of the activities available at the park. I was not sure we were going to get our zipline in but we did. Just a heads up, the zipline only runs two people at a time so it took us an hour to make our run. Also, there is a height, age, and weight limit (250 pounds). One guy waited in line only to find out he was 2 pounds over weight. They would not let him go. Just know they will hold the line on their zipline restrictions.

The bridge itself is very cool and quite the engineering marvel. It was the highest suspension bridge in the world until recently. It takes about 20 minutes to cross it. On the other side is a movie theater, restaurant and carousel. When we were there, it was too windy for the gondolas. The place is well done, but if the gondolas aren’t running, the price is too steep for what you get and I would skip it. The film was made to entertain children but was a bit distracting for adults. The staff was very nice.

This was the first thing we did when arriving to Canon City. Myself, wife, and 9 year old spent about 2 hours here enjoying the views, riding the gondola and having lunch. It's a really cool bridge and everyone was really nice. Gift shop has some cool swag. Everyone had a lot of fun.

they have turned this lovely spot into a huge tourist trap. Entry fee is $30 and only includes the sky tram and ability to walk across the bridge. .Everything else is super expensive, The gorge IS beautiful, but not worth the price of admission here.

They advertise open 365 and after we drove all the way to visitors center they tell us no rides are open. We came for the Gondola ride. I understand if they think too windy but let us know long before we get there and to front of line. But the really BAD thing is they now charge $27 dollars general admission. Said they charge the same 27 dollars whether the Gondola is open or not. Just plain Greed. Not one if the better things to do in Colorado !

Two points.
1. The employees could not have been nicer or more helpful.
2, The plexiglass in the tram was so scratched and cloudy that you could not take a clear picture of the gorge,

Phenomenal place to go to no matter your age! Enjoyed everything they had... The movie, ride over the river in the sky, animals, park, and the beautiful scenery!

Not worth it unless you want to pay $35 each to walk back and forth across a bridge. Sure the gondola is included in the price but it doesn’t run when it’s too windy and that seems to be the case most afternoons.

We zip lined and it was so much fun! And going across the bridge is really cool as well! We really enjoyed our time here. I highly recommend it! I definitely recommend zip lining if you can afford it! It’s $50 a person

I realize the "Royal Gorge Bridge is an engineering marvel that was built specifically to be a tourist attraction where guest can get 360 views", however do not charge me full price when I am not receiving the full experience. We stupidly paid for 5 guests x $32 to walk across a bridge. 🤦🏻♀️ The gondola was not operating due to high winds. This of course is out of their control, but please do not charge me $32 to JUST walk on a bridge. The views were nice, but definitely not worth the $160 we paid for our family. Please, check the weather and call ahead to see if they are fully operational before you make the trek.

The view of the gorge was amazing. No disputing that.
The reason for the one bubble rating is due to the misleading information on the minimum weight for the zipline and snarky attitude.
We bought the tickets at the main entrance where the minimum weight was 125 pounds. Our youngest is 137 pounds so we were good. Or so we thought. After trudging up the long and steep hill in 90+ degree weather to reach the zipline launching pad, we were greeting with a sign saying the minimum weight was 150 pounds. And the sign had been there for a looooong time. The operator reinforced the 150 pound minimum weight and that it had been that for years.
We walked back to the main entrance and stood in line again to ask for a refund. There was no customer service other than going out of the park and standing in line again. The agent did not seem concerned with addressing the misinformation from the ticket counter. The agent acted like they’ve heard my story before. While processing the refund, a ranger (I guess) who has nothing to do with the transaction inserted himself into the conversation and quipped why didn’t we take the tram to the zipline area. My response was that the line was over half an hour wait and we wanted to walk the bridge. I could have done without the smart aleck insertion…was in no mood.
On top of all of this I could not get change for the penny stamping machine. We collect these from everyplace we go. I even tried paying cash for things to get change and they had no coins. None. Perhaps the smart aleck “ranger” could have gone to the bank to exchange paper money for coins.
After getting back to our camper, we made reservations for the next day at Captain Zipline and had a blast! Six runs instead of one at the gorge place. And the guides were well experienced and hilarious…check that review out. We were so thankful of the terrible experience at the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park because if it were not for that, we would have not met Harmony and Mickey and had more fun and a much better experience at Captain Zipline.

Nice views. Not with the money imo. Cost was $74 for two adults. We didn't have kids so the play area was no interest. Ice cream was yummy, but again overpriced $6 or a small-ish cone.

$28 advance ticket price seemed expensive for walking onto a bridge, but it's a pretty amazing bridge! Take a jacket, the wind tunnel effect of the gorge can make it very windy and chilly up on the bridge.

Amazing views and incredible engineering. It was a bit rainy but nothing major. We drove out from Colorado Springs, it was a longer drive than i was expecting. The gondola was neat & we would have done the Zip line, but the rain moved in. They have a lot of areas set up for families to spend time and hand out. overall a lovely vist.

This is a very unusual but kind of cool place. It's a little "tourist trap" like but the views are amazing and it's also dog friendly for walking including across the bridge. You can even bring your dog on the gondolas to get from one side of the park to the other! The staff was very friendly and it was overall just a relaxing, chill experience that to me was worth it.

I’m not one for heights, so this was tough for me. The bridge does sway as people/carts go down it and the wind hits the side of it pretty hard. The walkway on the bridge is made of wood planks and some of them were worn out a bit, so you could see through to the bottom in between boards, which freaked myself and my daughter out. We made it across though…and felt proud. Took the gondola back over and that was a surprisingly smooth ride. The line was shorter on the other side (SW) than the side by the main building/parking lot, at least at the time we went (Sunday early afternoon). It was a good hike to get up to the gondola though. Overall, it was fun but I just hate heights.

Amazing view of the river/gorge. The history of how the bridge was built was fun to learn about, and it is an amazing structure! We dropped into see the falcon show, and we were happily surprised at how educational and entertaining it was.

While it’s rather neat to see. I recommend seeing it. But I’ve been to many bridges and this one was not as exciting as others. I feel if you had teens wanting to zip line etc then it’s great. Worth seeing! Advice: take the gondola over at the beginning then walk down the ‘hill’ to cross back over the bridge

This is the second time we have been to the bridge. This time we brought my 83 y/o father in law. I think he was a little skeptical about a bridge to no were but he loved it. There has been a lot done around the bridge sense we were there last. They still have the gondola that takes you across the gorge, they also have a swing that swings you out over the gorge (NO THANKS!). They have done a lot with the grounds, flowers and a koi pond and you can feed them. They have put in a kids play area that looks really nice (we saw several kids playing). There is a stage for music events. I think the movie they are showing about the gorge is new also, It is vey cute and informative. The bridge is still beautiful and the view is amazing. There is a flag for each state that you can take pictures with on the bridge. There is a couple of restaurants for lunch or a snack/refreshments, the BBQ is pretty good. Bathrooms are clean and the gift shop has plenty to see and of corse collect those momentous.

We rafted, then took the train, then still had time to get to the bridge an hour before closing, which was great. Very few people there and we still had time to leisurely walk across, watch the movie, and walk back.

Wow! This place is beautiful. If you get there when they open, less crowds. We first road the gondola over and back and then went and walked across the bridge. We almost had the bridge to ourselves! Beautiful views! Would definitely recommend!

My family made our vacation destination Colorado Springs this year instead of the beach. The Royal Gorge has always been on my bucket
it did not disappoint! We took tons of pictures and the first thing we did was ride the gondola! I white knuckled it all the way across but it was awesome! My 6 & 8 y/o grands were kind of iffy. My 17 y/o granddaughter and her friend did the zipline and loved it! The theater film was interesting and the raptor show was fun. We took our time walking across the bridge with the wind blowing every which way!! We ended up riding the gondola 3 times, so now I'm not so scared. We had a great day!

The scenery was great but it’s a tourist trap. we paid $76 Dollars to go across a dang bridge. We would’ve been much happier just parking in the parking lot and taking a hike on The trails.

This was an excellent family vacation spot. The views are spectacular, the kids loved the carousel and play park, and everyone loved the wild bird show!

Unique experience for a family with a 7 year old. We went first thing in the morning to
Beat the heat. There isn’t a lot of shade at the park due to the fire in 2013.
We enjoyed meandering across the bridge. Saw bighorn sheep. We watched the free very kid-friendly video in the theater. The adults actually wanted to learn more than the video provided.
The kids play area was fun & we could have stayed an hour there. There is a small splash pad. We took the gondola back across the gorge. It felt very safe - even for members of our group who were scared of heights. Wonderful views.
Ate lunch at the restaurant- portions were huge. You could definitely share.

I’ve visited the Royal Gorge a number of times since I was a small child, so I was excited to be able to visit it this time with my wife. There have been a number of changes since I was there last In 2002 — not necessarily for the better. For one the bridge is no longer open to vehicle traffic, but is limited to pedestrians. More importantly for me, a large entrance building has been built which blocks a close view of the bridge and prevents you from walking up to the edge of the gorge and looking down unless your willing to pay the $25 per person to do so (everything else is extra). Now I might have considered spending this since I had driven all that distance on the poorly maintained road, but when I asked the snug gatekeeper if they offered a veteran/military discount he chuckled and said the price was as listed. I guess they have you there and figure your stuck.
Shame on Canon City, the owner of the property and poorly maintained road that leads to it, for taking a great experience and making it feel like a tourist trap.

The gondola was not running the day we went, however, the price is not adjusted. It was $64 for two of us to walk across the bridge. It was very pretty, but I think now we should've gone to downtown Canon City and looked around instead.

$30.00 USD for an Adult Ticket.
Im Sorry, but that is a Frigging Rip Off
Drove out after riding the Royal Gorge Route Train, which was Awesome.

The two-star is solely because of the price. I paid $170 for my family of 5. That's not a large amount at all but I look at what you get for that cost. We got to walk across the bridge, watch a 20 minute video about the history of the park and my youngest played on the playground. We would've ridden the gondola but it was closed due to the wind (not their fault but when you pay the ridiculous entrance fee, it's disappointing). You can no longer go down to the bottom of the gorge because of the fire in 2013. If you want to do either of the thrill attractions, you pay more ridiculous fees. The prices for food and drinks are theme park prices. Don't get me wrong, the gorge is beautiful. The experience, however is nowhere near the cost.

This is a neat park in a very unique setting with stunning views of a 1,000 ft deep gorge. It's also home to the highest suspension bridge in America - something it seems you just have to see for yourself if you're in the area.
I have a private pilot certificate and am fine flying or riding in airplanes, but outside of an airplane I'm quite afraid of heights. That didn't stop me from going on the gondolas for amazing (and literally for me, breathtaking) views. It also didn't stop me from going on the zip line. I mean, if the highest zip line in America is right next to the highest suspension bridge in America, it seems like you just have to do that, too. And I'll say that I actually thoroughly enjoyed it - a totally unique experience with breathtaking views directly over the canyon with nothing around you!
I didn't make it all the way to the other side, however - I stopped short. I just looked straight ahead, and did NOT look down, while the staff geared up to retrieve me (apparently it was not terribly uncommon on the line I was on that day). They got out to me very calmly and efficiently and pulled me in to applause from onlookers. I've got a great story to tell at work now, and I would still do it again - it was that neat.
Afterwards, I made it out to the midpoint of the bridge with my wife to get a picture by our state flag, but my nerves got the best of me and I headed back without crossing completely. The bridge itself is extremely sturdy and wide - really nothing to be afraid of structurally!
It was a great way to experience the gorge, and I would visit again next time we're in the area! As a side note, if you want to see an even deeper and possibly more stunning gorge, stop at the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park for easy yet vertigo-inducing views of a canyon that's twice as deep in places!

Newly renovated and Wow!!! They did a lot to improve what was already an impressive experience. We started at the gondola to take us on a breath taking view of the canyon and the bridge. The gondola takes you to the high point at the far side of the canyon. From the far side you can see where the cliff climbers explore their skills. The amazing kids play area and splash zone is on the far side. We witnessed the history of the gorge, railway, and the Royal Gorge Bridge in the Theater on the far side. You can get a snack or lunch on the far side while sitting on their deck enjoying the views. We finished our experience with an amazing walk across the bridge back to the welcome center.

Amazing the view from the bridge is beautiful and the staff are very helpful
Wear good walking shoes and bring a reusable water bottle

This is really pretty and also really expensive. I don’t think it’s worth the cost. Included in your ticket is the gondola ride, walk across the bridge, and their free movie. The zip lining and rock climbing are extra add ons. If this were free or even $15 per person I’d give it 5 stars. But to charge $35 is a bit outrageous for what it is. You can see the Grand Canyon for less.

This was my second time here. It was bittersweet because signs of the fire are still visible. The new gondola is great. My daughter wanted to zip line but didn’t weigh enough for the wind conditions. I loved the wall made out of the damaged bridge planks. It’s devastating that the incline rail was destroyed.
This is a very cool experience and really shows how devastating wild fires are to an area. They have done a great job rebuilding the park.

This was amazing. It is about 1 1/2 hours from Colorado Springs and it was so worth it. You can get your tickets online. If you are a veteran you get a military discount for your party but you have to get your tickets at the entrance. Walking across the bridge is a must. You can walk back or take the sky gondola back. Watch the movie in the theater as it tells the history of the bridge. It is a must see if you are in the area.

We were disappointed that you can’t just walk onto the bridge wo paying $30 each. We weren’t interested in all the thrill rides. Just came for a visit and pics. There is an observation deck in the parking lot for a pic w the bridge in the back but we didn’t want to pay $120 to stand on the bridge. They should have a small fee for those who just want to stand in the bridge.

I can appreciate the beauty and view, but I was underwhelmed especially if you have seen someplace like the Grand Canyon. Unfortunately its reputation proceeds it and all you see everywhere are reminders of all the suicides that have taken place there. I was so depressed leaving. And the sidewalk is very dangerous that you take to cross it, especially if 2 people are trying to get by. One slip and you are in oncoming traffic.

Easy afternoon walk around the gorge and enjoyed the views. Admission gets you gondola and playground and bridge but zip line and climbing, and swing/slingshot were extra. Still worth seeing without the extras though!

Unique outing! The views were stunning and the gondola ride was fun! The park itself was a little cheesy. We missed out getting to do the movie (in the theater) due to time. Wish we had gotten to do it. A bit overpriced, though, but glad we did it. Be prepared to walk a lot!

Love the history, the engineering, the views and the low price. We had a nice chat with a maintenance man in a golf cart, very interesting and informative young man. It was a windy day so no gondola ride. Still a fun afternoon.

The views are amazing. It is a unique experience.I went for the general admission which give access to gandola, plaza theatre and kids play area and music theatre. One need to pay extra for zip lining, other adventure stuff.

The views were amazing! The staffs was very friendly and professional. The weather was great, and the lines were short.

We had Ashley and Rainey as servers and they were AMAZING. Super friendly and chatted with us and had a great time. Hubie was in the outside cart and made us feel so special for our 7 year anniversary and gave me an arrow head!!!!

We had an amazing time and it helped having someone to point even more beautiful views. We are definitely going back, When, is another question. Thanks for everything Hubie!

My husband & I visited the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park Sept. 29. It was a beautiful day. We brought our 2 little dogs. The park was totally dog friendly. We rode the gondola over the gorge. It's pretty cool. I enjoyed the views. On the other side of the gorge we walked around soaking in the fabulous day. The dogs were having a blast exploring. We walked back across the bridge. The heights freaked me out, can't lie. The bridge has little gaps between the boards, some wider than others. Our dogs are so tiny, I worried about them slipping a foot through the space so we carried them. Bigger dogs would have no problem. The views of the gorge are pretty spectacular. We'll go back. Next time I think we'll do the zipline. It will terrify me but it looks amazing.

Overpriced but is an incredible site and engineering accomplishment. Walking across the bridge is very cool nice background explanations at the visitor center. Walk to different viewpoints seemed to challenge some folks there. A little wind on bridge unnerved a few. Go earlier so you can spend some time and get best light. Parking lot was not greatest but this is an older structure and whole set up was before the kind of roads we have now. Very clean site

Looking for a truly unique experience? Try the zip line across Royal Gorge! Walk across the bridge then zip line back. Two fun ways to see the gorge. It is a bit of a hike up to the zip line. We just paid right there, no need to set up a tour ahead of time.

I'll admit, I'm one of those people who thought the $30 entrance price was ridiculous. The rest of my family did the Via Ferrata, which included the park/bridge entrance. Now that we've been, it was SO worth the money. The experience and views were fantastic. The Via Ferrata was exceptional. We cannot wait to come back again! At the end of our time there we stopped at the restaurant on the north side, where the zipline ends, and the staff there went above and beyond to help us feel welcome. So very friendly and kind. My only criticism is (and even the staff who heard me struggling was shocked), that we weren't told to take the gondola over, and walk the bridge back. I did it the opposite way, and it was very difficult for me to walk that distance and uphill. Another visitor told me they were informed to walk back, and one of the employees who happened to be nearby expressed his shock, "it's so much harder the way you came!" Yeah, I know!! Lesson learned. I won't make that mistake again.
I wish a ride was provided for the Via Ferrata participants, as you have to get all the way across the bridge and uphill to the Via Ferrata pavilion, and as it was our first time there, we had no idea the time it would take to do all that. Not easy. Now we know!
We happened to be in the theater when they offered us to participate in the bird training, and the lady doing that was fantastic!
The Via Ferrata and walking the bridge, watching the rafters below, and the whole experience was worth every penny we paid. I cannot wait to return, and this time incorporate some hiking and a jeep tour, and a rafting experience. And definitely the Via Ferrata again!

If you don't like height, avoid this stop! The only things for adults here is to walk across the Gorge and ride the gondolas. Also, if any weather would be on the horizon, they close everything, for safety from lightning. For $25/person, the view was not that amazing.

They need to bring the incline back. The "extra" activities are outrageously expensive. Zipline is 48.00 for like 45 seconds. One of the best things was seeing the river from the bridge and then going down the incline to the bottom. Without that option its just a big suspension bridge. The hike to the gondola for the ride back is quite an uphill trek. I'd suggest ride it over and walk the bridge back. Gift shop is small as they have added a restaurant and cut the gift shop way down.

Should be able to pay small fee to just walk on bridge. Did not want to pay a general admission of $32 per person to include a gondola ride. We would rather spend that amount on other activities. We took a pic from the parking lot and decided to go rafting instead.

I have been to the royal gorge four times in my life and each time I have left feeling totally ripped off. Even though they’ve improved the rides and rebuilt the park city with a terrible to forest fires, they did not improve the pricing structure and it’s even more of a price gouge to tourists than it ever was. The park is beautiful and the sights are cool… However way over priced charging for admission which includes one ride needs to be changed. We tried to use our 32 dollar ticket which was supposed to include the gondola ride..which when we entered we were told was down…no discount for that. Then they turned About 30 of us away from the gondola and told us it was closed for the day..Also beware, each ride separately is over 30 each. We also witnessed an employee raising her voice at a family that had come into the dining facility out of the hot sun to take their outside food outside..Mind you the area was not full at all. Just very rude for the price this family I’m sure had paid just to get into the park.
To improve the experience we would suggest with each ticket there should be 1 to 2 rides included. Then if a person wants another then charge extra. They try charging an arm and a leg for things that weren’t worth the price. The nature of the park is great but not at that price…Yet another poor experience and we will never return which we can tell our family and friends not to bother

Would give 10 stars if I could because of our guides, Owen and Brandon. They were very nice and really made the experience wonderful!!!

Used to enjoy the park back in the day, before the present mgmt took over. I will not pay to walk the Bridge again. Pardon my saying so but the present prices are rapacious and way out of line. Many families cannot afford $27 per person! Much less the extreme prices for food, drink, and sweets.. IMO there are better ways to enjoy the Gorge- including walking it which I have done several times.

The Gorge is really cool, but the place isn't that well run. We pre-bought our tickets at home, which included the Gondola ride. When you get there, you still have to wait in line with all of the other people who are buying their tickets. Then we discovered that although the park 'closes' at 7p, that the Gondola usually stops at 2P most days, if not sooner because it is too windy to operate. Clearly a safety issue, so can't blame them for not running it, but maybe they should split their pricing so that you get a discount if you cannot ride the Gondola, since that is a key attraction. Couldn't do the zip lines either for the same reason. At least we didn't make the mistake of buying those online. We made the best of it and wandered around across the bridge to the play area. Kids tried going on the carousel, but were were told that it was also closed due to the winds. That one didn't make much sense to me. The woman working at the beer garden near the play area was friendly. The beer garden closes at 530p and it seemed like many of the refreshment stands did as well. If you're going to go, I would recommend getting there early and checking the wind forecast to make sure that its below double digits.

$160 for 6 people to walk across a bridge. Essentially everything else was closed, including the gondola, which was the reason we went.

We loved the bridge and the history of the bridge. The atrial tram ride was nice. However, the Playground area, zipline and giant swing ride took away from the beauty of the gorge and the bridge. Not worth the price at all.

If you enjoy waiting in line for 3 hours minimum this is the place. There is no way to reserve activities in advance and there is a chance the activity will shut down due to high winds. There were no drink stations on the activity side of the bridge either so be prepared. Total wasted day for the family.

Beautiful park & amazing views. Words cannot do it justice. The park is very pet friendly. Unlimited rides on the gondola.

My husband and I did the Via Ferrata in Royal Gorge on Friday 9/20 and had a fantastic and amazing tour with our guide, Nate!! He was very calm and attentive the whole time. We were on a 3-4 hour hike/climb and we felt safe at all times. We loved the experience and would definitely recommend it and do it again!! It was a great way to see the gorge!!

We just wanted to go over and back without using any of the attractions on offer. No chance, they charge the full price, currently $35.00 per person. That was too expensive for us for a walk.

Another way to view the majestic scenery of this area. We were treated to a herd of big-horned mountain sheep entering the park and coming close to us.

Great experience. The entrance fee covers walking the bridge and gondula ride. There Re other experiences for an additional charge. My husband and I did the zipline and it was awesome! We did have to wait about 1 1/2 hours because of the line and the ride getting shut down because of high winds. Their is a height and weight requirement so my 8 year old daughter didn't get to ride. She was really bummed. The weight requirement is 100 - 245 and it might change depending on wind conditions. Overall it was awesome.

The bridge was really cool to see with all the state flags. Admission includes the bridge, gondolas, and theatre. Unfortunately due to the strong winds, we could not go on the gondolas.

We drove 3 hours out of our way for a horrible experience. I went as a child and wanted to share the experience with my children and grandchild. $32 per person is way overpriced. This price is for the Gondola and the Bridge, but the Gondola was shut down. They still charge full price! The staff and especially the manager were rude and unpleasant. My wife is afraid of heights and didn’t go to the bridge. They would not even let her into the cafe for lunch to eat with her family without paying $32? $32 and then pay for very bad overpriced food served by rude service people who hate their jobs! We’re they afraid she would sneak down to the bridge? Waste of peoples time and money! This was a not a good experience!

Pros: The awe inspiring and natural beauty of the gorge itself, the price wasn’t bad considering the gondola ride was included, all the nice staff, nice eateries and staff.
Cons: I can’t really think of any - that’s a first!

See the magnificence of nature and an engineering marvel. Well worth the basic admission. We crossed, did a lot of walking on the far side and then took the gondola back. Then we crossed again, went to the short history movie and walked back. The basic admission is a good value, but take your own water! $4.00 for a bottle of water or $7.00 for a glass of domestic beer is absolutely ridiculous! The history movie was interesting, but the silly water drop character was annoying.

Shout out to Hubie, Bob and Alyaliuha who helped my daughter when she got sick on the train. They helped her find a different seat and get her a wet towel and cool water to recover. They were attentive and made a difference in getting her back to the station.

This is an amazing view of the Royal Gorge. Some of us did the SkyCoaster and it was exhilarating - however, the line can move slowly and extends out past any shade so hydrate first! We also took the gondola back (we walked across the bridge). The kiddie park isn't much to speak of but the views are what you want!

A very Picturesque location with activities for all age groups. The Bridge walks looks challenging from a distance, but once you reach the bridge you realize that, it is made in such a way that the walk is very easy and it is so strong that they also have a special boggy to ride on it.
The park has many activities including cable car over the gorge and they even have a Zip which id fun and not difficult!

The views are fantastic and the gondola ride is exhilarating! The $30 per person admission is a little steep, but for a once in a lifetime experience and driving all the way out to see it we decided to go in. The movie is a must as it explains what it took to build this wonderful place. They do have a super fast zip line for an extra $45 fee, but if you are a thrill seeker then you will love this fast speed zip line.

Crossing the bridge over the 1200 foot deep gorge is very cool! The zip line over the gorge is well worth it if a bit sedate. The Sky Coaster should not be missed. A thrilling swing over the gorge and reasonably priced. There is a flock of Bighorn Sheep that live in and around the park. The ewes and lambs seem to have little fear of people so you can view them at leisure.

Good views if you have never seen a gorge/ river. Not recommended if you are scared of heights! The scenes were very beautiful but the price for a family of 5 was pricey! We took 3 adults and 2 kids and the total price was about $150-160 dollars. Snacks and food will cost you an arm or a leg or both! Toddlers and elderly might struggle with walking so take a stroller! The gondolas were off limits because of the wind. If we were able to get on gondolas maybe price would have been worth it. Kiddos did enjoy the playground and Merry go round. If you are ever near Taos New Mexico go see the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge. It is not as scenic but it is free!

We did the train in the morning, then the park and bridge right after. The contrast of seeing it from down below, then again from up top, was amazing!

A great day!!! We had a blast. $30/pp to get in. You can go across the bridge and ride the gondola and check out the theatre as many times as you want. My husband and son rode the zipline $45/pp on top of the admission ticket. They do offer combo tickets and online will save you a few dollars. It was gorgeous views. We rafted under it the next day. They do have a restaurant after you cross the bridge if you want some BBQ or drinks or just need to rest. Great view. The 20 min movie in the theater is very informative about the park and bridge. I will tell you this… if you walk across the bridge, and want to walk up to the sky coaster or zipline it IS VERY VERY STEEP! For older folks or someone with knee issues it might be difficult for you. You could take the gondola across and walk back across the bridge would be a better choice. There were people who could hardly push the stroller. I actually had vertigo by the time I got to the top of the hill. They also open early before 10:00am if you go to the guy to the right of the visitor center next to the gate and buy your tickets. We got there early and we’re almost the only ones on the bridge and the second to ride the zip-line. No crowds. Got busier the later you go.

I visited the royal gorge when I was a teenager and was excited to take my teenagers. Everyone loved the experience! Only downside was the heat. Very cool experience!

I think it's sad that natural beauty is ruined and turned into a 'tourist' trap. The Bridge Was neat to see but the zip line cables and all of the surrounding cement and manmade tourist traps ruined it all. Very disappointing. The gorge itself is amazing too bad the manmade surroundings ruined it's natural beauty. Would not go back or spend $25 to see. Complete waste of money. I only felt sad after leaving that something that is really cool on it's own was exploited.

My husband and I walked the bridge on a beautiful summer day. Gorgeous views. Lots for more adventurous people and kids to do. Also a restaurant overlooking the gorge.

Honestly a little upset and disappointed since being back here. Total money grab now. I paid $400 for a family of 13 with kids ages from 9 to 2. Got to the kid free area and find out that the main reason we came with these aged children is the carousel isn’t open! This is a huge disappointment considering the reason due to “low staff”but somehow they can manage to staff the dip n dots and the Gift shop in the kiddy area and charge $30 for bubble wands and the one arcade game. They want you spend money on beer since there is a bar every few feet, but why stay when nothing that is included in the admission is open.

The best aspect of this place is the setting. It is set at a stunning location and the views are jaw-dropping - from the visitor center area and the porch, from the other side of the gorge, and from atop the bridge.
The gondola ride was a little disappointing as the gorgeous views were marred by the cloudy glass walls. Better cleaning needed?
All of us did the gondola ride a couple of times, walked across the bridge and watched the movie and the live bird show at the theater. We also ate lunch at the cafe, which was pretty decent. Our daughters wanted to zipline, but were rendered ineligible because of their weights. Usually the minimum weight is 100 lbs for the ride, but just for that day, they increased it to 125 lbs because of the winds, and both the girls are between 100-125 lbs :-(. My wife did the zipline, though, and was happy.
The shuttle was too infrequent.
We did not attempt the skycoaster.
The best experience for me was to just sit at the porch behind the cafe and watch the scenery - amazing!
Word of caution: Google maps does not locate the place correctly. In the last leg, it asks you to take a left on a dirt road. This is incorrect. Instead, go straight on the paved road. There are signs at the juncture, so it is easy, but just confusing.

The bridge was great and views were fantastic!! Me giving a 3 is based on cost. I had no interest in zip lining or tram but they do not have admission for just entering and walking on the bridge. It is a money grab by forcing people to pay for stuff they do not have any interest in doing.

We were a family of 4 that did a private via ferrata Royal Tour. Our guide was Allie and she was wonderful. We could not have asked for a better guide. The Royal tour is an incredible experience. When you sign up for a private tour you will be one of the first to enter the park and have the bridge to yourself. All of your gear is supplied for you and we had a break for lunch. Bring your own water bottle!! I find it strange the amount of people who do not have water with them. I personally used hiking gloves and I am glad I did.

On a bus trip. Got those not afraid of hieghts, this is a good place. Gondola rides on zip lines cross the canyon as well as the bridge. It is a great view. As we have found in a few Colorado attractions they only take credit cards or the exact amount in currency. They give no change.

We ended up at the bridge after rafting and dinner, so it was the final hour it was open. It was plenty of time to walk the bridge, get into the theater, and get plenty of pictures. The gondola and zip lines were not going at that point, but we weren't planning on doing those additions anyway.

I haven't been here in decades. Exciting and breathtaking as ever with new attractions including zipline and more.
PRO: Bring a camera! Tons of great photo opportunities. Polite staff, gift shop, cafe, gondola, zipline, theater (on the other side).
CON: You can't drive over the bridge anymore. They took the "No Fishing from the Bridge" sign down.

Very disappointing. .. 🥵 planned my trip since September. This was our winter trip. Was soooo looking forward to the bridge. 😨😱 but …
Paid $25 per person for general admission which includes the bridge , the Gandulas , & the theater- but everything was closed due to weather.
So how can you charge general admission when We couldn’t enjoy anything!!?!?!?
It was pretty - the bridge - but that’s it!!!
Way over priced!

Great view of the Royal Gorge. You have two ways to get to the other side of the gorge, (1) take the sky-tram which we did(cost was $25.00 each adult nd you can take numerous times) or (2) walk across the bridge which we did coming back. The climb down from the top to the bridge is steep so make sure everyone is wearing good walking shoes, sandals/flip-flops not recommended. Numerous places to eat and they have play ground fir kids and a nice "birds" show.

This place was super nice. For about $35 you get access to the whole park, including unlimited gondola rides. There’s a few extras you will have to pay for like the zip lining. We went in august and it was kind of cool up there. Take a sweater.
The gondola ride is short, but takes you right to the zip lining area. The suspension bridge wasn’t scary at all. It’s long and you will have spectacular views. They have all the state flags along the way. Find your own and tag them.
They have a kid area with a carousel and a few other games. The carousel is free. The other games are not.
They have food available throughout the park. At the entrance, you can find healthier options like salads. By the suspension bridge, they have BBQ. They also have snacks and ice cream stands.
We encountered Rocky Mountain sheep grazing. They don’t look like what a I imagine a sheep looks like. They are dog friendly throughout the park.
Parking is on site and plentiful. Expect to spend 2-3 hours there if you do decide to eat

Worst customer service and a waste of money. The Royal Gorge is beautiful but the employees of the Park, the train and the helicopter rides were awful. Not my fault people don't like their jobs. The park is a waste of money. I bought a zip line combo tickets and weather had the attractions closed. No refund. So what a waste of money with rude kids running the place. The train ride was beautiful but my car didn't have a server. Again, why do people have to be so rude. I waited for the food and it was very good but the staff is impatient and there was never a sorry for the lack of service. People in the town are horrible. I have been all over CO and never have I been to such a horrible town. I won't be back. Durango and Pagosa Springs are much better options.

The views are amazing and the park is kept up really well. Enjoyed the Gondola ride, zip line, and sky coaster. The informational movie and Raptor show at the theater was really good. Just my opinion but, For all the cheap people that complain about having to pay to see the gorge and suspension bridge this is how and why it is here, and the cost is justified with all that is offered for you to enjoy.

This was a fantastic place to visit. The views were spectacular and it s well priced. The theater provided great information the present and past. It was just the right length of time fir the presentation. The young gal at the theater seemed a bit stressed and irritated.
Loved the Gondala ride. I would recommend this to families and couples. Love the fact this is pet friendly too.

We hadn’t visited the gorge for 30 years and were disappointed with the infrastructure upkeep. It costs $35 per adult to walk across bridge. There were lines at both mens and women’s toilet in visitor center, only 3 toilets. Pavement on walking paths were disintegrating everywhere. There was a fire that burned most of the structures on the far side of the bridge so all those buildings have been replaced and look great. Gondola wasn’t running due to storms in the area but it would be nice for the park to post a sign indicating such so that folks don’t have to walk up the hill to the rim to find this out.

A small fee to walk the bridge was expected, but $35 /person. We drove out of our way to get there. The sign says park AND bridge. Why have bridge listed with park if you must pay to enter park to get to the bridge. We left disappointed and two hours behind the schedule if we was better informed.

Beautiful! Loved it. We walked over the bridge and rode gondola back. Only negative was after we finished paying for a package that included the gondola ride, the cashier informed us it was too windy and the gondola wasn’t operating today. We weren’t happy they told us that after we already bought it. Luckily an hour or two later the wind died down and they opened it.

The views are nice for sure, but not worth the high price tag. It was barely windy, with occasional gusts in the 20 mph range, but it was enough to close the gondolas, which was the big thing I was hoping to do. It wasn't updated on the website that they were closed due to weather, just that they'd be running 3 cars instead of 6 due to Memorial Day. I had seen other days where they listed on the website that the gondolas were down. Seems like a rare occurrence for them NOT to be down. For our family of four (one child under 3) it was $85 to basically walk across a bridge and play at a SMALL playground. Truly, I'd probably recommend driving up there and just enjoying the view from the parking lot. They validate your ticket for a second day, but the second day was windier than the first so not worth it in our case as the gondolas would still be closed, and there are so few things to do there that a second day is not necessary for most visitors. This is nothing more than a shoddy money grab.

We visited the Royal Gorge this week. (Adults, teens, 5 y/o) We walked over the bridge. Everyone rode the gondola (included with your admission price) luckily we rode it before it got too windy and it closed. We watched the interesting short film about the making of the bridge. (17 min) There was a nice playground for the little one. The “big kids” all opted for the zip line experience! It was amazing! You have to be at least 10 y/o and 100 lbs. (which can change based on wind conditions)

We had rode the RGR the previous day and saw the Royal Gorge Bridge from below and got the opportunity to visit the park the next day. The family was excited to see the view from the other direction. If you are scared of heights this may not be for you but the views are as breathtaking as the "heights". We didn't get to go on the Gondola due to high winds so be prepared that might just happen. We were still able to walk across the bridge and it was great. Highly recommend a visit herel

This was my 3rd time to the royal Gorge area. The first time I remember being able to drive across the bridge and it wasn't quite so expensive to do so. The second time the bridge was closed due to damage from a wildfire. It's a shame cause I always wanted to come back and do the Incline train but I see it was never rebuilt. Admission now is $32. It gets you Admission to the park, the bridge, the gondola ride, and the theater. If you want to do any of the additional rides they cost extra. It's a bit pricey especially if you have a large family. I think they should have a separate small fee if you just want to walk across the bridge but there were only 2 of us so we didn't mind paying the fee.
The gondola is a bit scary and I think they do close it during windy or inclement weather. We didn't do the theater as the first showing wasn't until 1pm and we were there at 10am. The bridge is still as awesome as ever! Still wooden and still scary. But the views from the bridge are not to be missed! It alone is worth the price of admission!
Parking is free and they have a large gift shop as well. The best way to see the park is doing the gondola first! It will take you above the bridge and then you hike down, across the bridge, and back to the visitor center. If you do it the other way it's uphill and steep. We had a great time. We would like to visit again and spend the whole day.

Way overpriced for a windy day when none of the attractions were open. The bridge is amazing, but the price we paid just to walk across was ridiculous.

The Royal Gorge Bridge and Park is a great half day adventure if you are in the Colorado Springs/ Canon City area. Just beware that they charge admission and then charge for the bigger activities as well. We rode the Gondolas a couple times and then did the Zip Line, which was a complete rush!! They ensure that each rider is an acceptable weight and is harnessed in completely. We also walked around the rest of the park, walked across the bridge to take in the views and headed out. I'd give yourself about 3 hours here to check everything out.

While it is a little spending to get into the park, the scenery and sights are awesome. The gondola was fun and the bridge was great to walk across. I did the Skycoaster too and that was a blast.

Breathtaking views. Amazing to see the beauty God created for us to enjoy. Lots of fun things for the entire family. You have to try the Sky Coaster. You’ll never forget the experience.

The gondola ride is nice. The film about the bridge is reasonably informative but could be much better The view from the bridge is spectacular. It is, however grossly overpriced as the vast majority of the visitors come primarily for that. Food and drink offerings were poor and also grossly overpriced so we gave them a miss along with just about everyone else.

We were driving between Alamosa and Manitou Springs, CO and decided to make a stop for the hike to the Royal Gorge Overlook. We did not pay to go into the park or walk on the bridge. The hike to the Overlook can be reached by turning South on CR 3A. Drive 3.5 mi to a parking lot on your left. The Trailhead is on your right. About a mile or so to the end of the trail on your left and you'll find where you can get a view of the Royal Gorge Bridge. We enjoyed the excursion and glad we got to view the bridge. We didn't need to pay to go in to walk it.

This is a unique place. The bridge and the gorge are a nice combination.
There are different things you can do at the gorge, you can ride the gondola (included with your admission), zip line, ride the swing that floats out over the gorge, hike or walk the bridge. There are lots of places to get food and drink.
This is a fun family place for kids of all ages.

The Royal Gorge Bridge is a really beautiful place. Not only for its views, which are deffinetly breathtaking, but also for the structure they've built. Up there they have several stores and places you can get food. I don't think they sell alcohol, but they do sell soft drinks! The weather in Colorado in general is pretty dry, and it does affect your skin and even breathing might be a little difficult. It is very worth it though.
Some people might find it a bit scary. My little sister did cry when we were up there, but soon she forgot she was scared and that we were up on the mountains and over a river because of how many rides there were at the park! She had a blast. The whole family did. It's a spot that's got fun for every age.

Amazing as it sounds we drove an hour and a half, intending to walk across the bridge and view the sights for a reasonable fee, based on past experience, which admittedly was long ago. However the cost for our family would have been $200! We are not interested in the gondola, a video is not the attraction and we don’t have small children for the play area. A complete waste of time as you can barely see the bridge from a poor viewing area. Spend your vacation time and money some where else… any where else.

I initially signed up for the Revelation tour on 4/18/24. The weather was cold and wet, but I went anyway, not looking forward to it. There were two guides there, Don and Ali, but I was the only customer who had signed up for the five available slots.
I had previously spoken with Don on the phone. I am not at all outdoorsy or athletic. I wanted to challenge myself with something new but was nervous and had a lot of questions. He was super helpful and reassuring. When I got there, we talked about options given the weather, and I decided to do a private mini-tour with Ali the next day when the weather was supposed to be better. I could not have made a better choice!
Because of my ability level (zilch), the activity was terrifying and difficult for me, but Ali was an excellent guide, coach and cheerleader and I made it! I couldn’t believe it! She is pictured behind me in one of my selfies. I really can’t say enough good things about her. I will never forget her and how she pushed me to do things I never dreamed I could. I’m crying as I type this.
Try the Via Ferrata. It will be an unforgettable experience.

There needs to be a bridge-only option. We (party of 6, including 2 ementary aged kids) wanted to visit and walk the bridge but did not want to do the other thjngs. Would have been great views but way too expensive. .

Im afraid of heights, but holy hell... this was an experience! I could not say no too. I crossed the bridge AND I rode the gondollas. It was amazing and breathtaking! The views were unbelievable, and I thought I may never get this chance to see or do this again so I sucked it up and I did it, and im so glad I did.

We did NOT go INTO the park. I think it was expensive for what you got to go into the park. BUT parking was free & from parking lot you could walk out onto a lookout platform & see the bridge. We also turned down a side path for "picnic area" & that area netted us views down the canyon & of the river. That was worth the stop there. If you are planning on going into the park, be ready for the cost & you HAVE to LIKE HEIGHTS!! 1200ft to bottom of canyon.

Got there just before 10 when the doors opened. Ticket people were fast, friendly and helpful. Gondola was included with admission was a fun ride. The visitor center gift shop and food area all seemed new. Had to leave for a raft trip so we didn’t get a chance to try the food. Everything thing was clean and well maintained. Bridge and view are spectacular. Hopefully my kids will have fond memories of this trip like I have from when my grandparents took me 45 years ago.

Skip the $32 tourist trap and go for the Royal Gorge Trailhead Overlook loop instead. Very easy trail that actually has a road you can drive down as well. It's off of CO RD 3A. Beautiful views of the river and bridge.
Ok, so I must admit, I didn't go the Royal Gorge Park (amusement park) but who want's to pay 32 bucks just to walk out on the bridge? And yes, the "park" does have gondolas as well but they only run if it's not windy. Money would be better spent riding the Royal Gorge train instead and then hike the Overlook loop for free! Or drive down the gravel road that basically parallels the trial.

I found this place to be underwhelming at best. The bridge is very impressive and scenery is beautiful. However, it's overpriced and crowded. The zip line and swing are both extra costs and also overpriced. Thankfully the lines were so long that our kids didn't care to wait.

Improve ticket pricing for those that only want to walk across the bridge. $32 is a little "steep" for some. We enjoyed our time while visiting unfortunately we did notice a few families with small children who turned away probably because of the cost for a child over two years is also $27 per person. Perhaps consider a solo price for a walk across the bridge and another fee for the other attractions.

This is more of an amusement park than I expected. The bridge and gorge are the main attraction, the rest is fluff. Expect long lines and crowds. Buying tickets online is a waste of time - you still have to wait in line when you arrive. I went once, don't plan to return.

This place was so nice to see the beauty of God's creation from many different ways on the gondola! Walking across the bridge was a lil bit sketchy but how cool to see a place that only took 6 months to build!😀

We were very disappointed. It cost our family of six over $180 to get in. The pictures on the website make this place seem very spectacular. It is a great view across the canyon, yes. But the gondola ride and walking across the bridge are not worth the entrance fee. This is more of a 10.00 per person outing. The zip line costs extra. We did not end up going because the line was a two hour wait. The kids area/playground was also underwhelming. It looks enormous on the website. Overall this wasn’t worth the money or the hour and 29 minute drive we took to get there.
I’d recommend going to cave of the winds instead. You can pay solely for a thrill ride that shoots you down into a canyon. No additional entrance fee. There are also reasonable priced attractions for younger kids.

We visited the park with the purpose of riding the zip line. We had to wait 25+ minutes for the trolly to take us up to the top because we chose not to walk. Once there, we had to wait another 15 or so minutes for the wind to die down before they would re open the zip line. The staff was great at the zip line, they had my nervous husband laughing and not so scared. The zip line was so much fun, had great views of the gorge below. Try to avoid going when windy in town, because it’s going to be much more windy at the top of the mountains.

It was so beautiful, and everything was clean and the people were friendly. We rode the gondola across and walked the bridge back.
There are bathrooms everywhere as well as shaded places to rest and get food or drinks.

I loved the aerial gondola ride and the walk across the bridge. The walk was easy. Plan to wait in line for a little bit for the gondola.

Was a beautiful place to visit. Our kids enjoyed walking the bridge, and the playground area was beyond amazing! But the rides were all closed and the sky ride was closed for repairs when we went, so sadly I don't think we went on their best day. We did however still have fun. There was a short movie/ documentary that was fun and informative about the area and its history; and there was a pay-to-play "shooting range" that was kinda fun (and took cards).
Would definitely recommend going, but also check for "what's Open" before going. It WAS a bit expensive for entry.
Very Expensive
We were looking forward to visiting the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park after our white water rafting trip that we took in the morning. The cost to walk over the bridge is $32 a person which includes the Gondola ride. GREAT! Unfortunately due to weather the ride was closed for an unknown amount of time but the ticket price didn’t change. We opted out of the $100 to walk across a bridge that I am sure has beautiful views but seems a bit excessive. We were staying in Colorado Springs so we could not make the hour drive back a different day.
