Amazing atmosphere, excellent staff!

By Bella537 |

We went to watch a Sharks hockey game at the SAP Centre. It was our first hockey game but we had a blast! The atmosphere inside the stadium was amazing. We had a problem with our online tickets on trying to enter the stadium. It was our own fault but the staff were so helpful in aiding us and making sure we got in on time for the game. We wouldn't have received this kind of customer service in the UK! Thanks for a great night!

Depends on what you are looking for...

By KRBren |

Sometimes you have to go to the venue where the event you want to attend will be and you may not have a lot of choice. I don't think SAP is a terrible place, but there are some drawbacks; there are exceedingly long lines for beer on the main level and even longer lines for craft beer. I have heard that with some research you can find easier places to get beer, but we wanted to get back to our seats and it took all of intermission to grab a new beer. Another consideration is that the cheap seats have very very steep steps. Sometimes I get a bit freaked out walking up/down such steep steps and I have friends who would not have made it to their seat.
But, if you are able to go to an event in one of the suites, that is awesome! I went to a company party in a suite and you get room to chat and be social, there was food and beverage provided, and there are several rows of seats attached to the room from which you can watch the action.
I do suggest taking the light-rail (VTA) to get there because you wont have to worry about parking or getting out of there after the event.

Took granddaughter to Disney on Ice

By EmkayW |

Fabulous! The only issue is the overpriced stuff that always appeals to a 6 year old! But we had a great time. There doesn't seem to be a bad seat anywhere!

Building is outdated

By Jeffrey D |

The SAP Center is a bit outdated. Sightlines were pretty good. The upper section is pretty steep, so be careful when going up/down stairs. The concessions are above average - good variety to choose from. The club section is interesting - hallways are narrow, food for a club is average. At least the on-ice product is pretty good.

Sharks vs Blues! Blues won! Great venue!!

By edodd419 |

My husband and I visited the SAP Center to see the Blues take on the hometown Sharks. The Blues won, and it was a fantastic time. As a native St. Louisan, I wore my Blues gear, as did my husband, and we cheered. My loud cheers drew funny looks, but eventually the good natured Sharks fans stopped quietly mocking and we all had a good time as the Blues beat their Sharks 4-1. The arena wasn't too cold. I often freeze at hockey games, but I was good in a sweater and puffy vest. The theatrics were fun at the start of the game, as the Sharks players skated out of a shark's head with glowing red eyes. The music was good and built good energy. Food options were alright. One of the places had fries slathered in fresh garlic and a green herb. There's a place to get a turkey sandwich for the diet-conscious, but it's huge and you could consider splitting it. As a St. Louis native I wanted Bud Light, and found it at a Chicago dog place. There was a gal near the main entrance with a bucket of beers, but she only took cash.

Enjoyed the Match4Africa5 at the SAP Center

By Mmarymomm |

We were very excited to see Roger Federer play tennis at this event. The seats were close to the action and comfortable. We arrived early so did not experience much of a wait to get in. The parking was expensive ($25) and so was the food but it was a rare opportunity to see him play. Overall, a really positive experience.

Good views and wonderful location

By travelbod04 |

Went to watch the San Jose Sharks and the position of the centre, only a couple of minutes walk fron train station, meant it was an easy return train journey from San Francisco on the Caltrain.

Had seats fairly high up on the side of the venue but the views were excellent and the large quality screen also helps. Good atmosphere throughout the game and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

The food choice and quality on the concourse was the best we experienced during our NBA, NHL and NFL trip.

Recommend it to anyone visiting the area with an interest in sports.

Sharks game!

By Renee F |

SAP is a wonderful venue. Whether it is for Hockey, a concert, a show. It's always a good place to go. You can never really get a bad seat. People are always really helpful too!

The Shark Tank!

By Leland D |

The Sharks are fun to watch and the Shark Tank (SAP Center) is a great place to watch a hockey game. Plenty of parking within a 10 minute walk. As with any sports event the food and drink are a bit pricey so you may want to eat outside before you come or bring a Togo's sandwich with you.

Good venue - expensive drinks!

By M1809 |

We enjoyed our visit to the SAP Centre to see Jeff Lynne's ELO. It’s very similar to other arena venues in the UK. The crowd weren’t as boisterous as crowds we’ve come across in the UK and Europe - not sure why but the concert was great! Didn’t think that the security on entering was as tight as it could have been. California is very expensive and we found the drinks here to be the same so if you’re visiting and want a few drinks before, I can recommend the ‘Brit Pub’ about a 5 minute walk away.

Hockey

By 1959maui |

San Jose Sharks put on quite a show as they play on home ice. Fun times with friends , sat in lower level and had in club seating and service at our seats
Our server was awesome , fun, interactive and pointed us in the direction with wine, beer and cocktail choices as well as food ( both in seat and in arena)
Fun place , tad loud so ear protectors not such a bad idea
Go Sharks!!!

Great venue for a concert

By YO SS |

We were here for a Katy Perry concert. First time at SAP. I was thoroughly impressed from the moment we were dropped off (300 feet from the main entrance). SAP is a classy, beautiful venue where there is no such a thing a bad seat. Great sound acoustics and the proximity to CAL Train (walking) makes it super easy to travel home (San Francisco).

Disney on Ice Surprise visit

By sackett107 |

Disney on ice show!! Great place to see the show. Met the Ice tech personnel and was able to see some back stage inner workings!! Great place to see games and DOI!!
Thanks for accommodating us!!

Music Concert review

By Draghignazzo |

Amazing venuew for a music concert.
Is is small enough to don't be that far from stage even if you don't have the best seats.
Quite easy experience.
Loved the venuew that much, that we are open to consider to travel just there for another concert.

Nice activity centre

This is the place for major events. Its well built & spacious & is great for hosting major san jose events.

An Awesome Place to Attend an Event

By Linda W |

SAP Center is an awesome place to attend an event. As a San Jose Sharks ticket holder, we frequent the SAP Center often. The stadium has easy freeway access, average parking prices ($20), plenty of options for restaurants near by, as well as excellent, reasonably priced food in side the stadium. If you prefer not to drive, access by train is a great option. The train will even hold their departure, if a game runs into over time.

What coordinated service!!

Here for a Sharks Game

By kmbyopie |

Sat in Sec 219 with a nice view of the ice, benches, goals, etc. Plenty of bathrooms and food options. Friendly staff. Can't wait to go back.

Safest Shark Tank In The World!

By NME |

I have been to SAP Center several times. A few Sharks’ games and most recently, I took my nephew to Monster Jam. SAP is very close to the freeway so not much street traffic you have to go to. There are also some odd-site parking lots blocks away. Never found traffic to be an issue and parking isn’t too pricy like most arenas. I don’t recall the price off hand, just remember the price being reasonable. Very clean facilities: seats, bathrooms etc. Youu will go through standard metal detector security but in addition to that, ONLY clear bags are allowed. Yes, clear bags! We showed up to Monster Jam, and only clear totes and bags can be used...so leave your backpack and giant purses at home. Never had a bad experience at SAP. Great family atmosphere and locale is very convenient. Don’t worry about the Sharks, it’s the safest Shark Tank in the world.

US Figure Skating Championships

By iceskaterfangirl |

I attended the US Figure Skating Championships in January at SAP. There are lots of great things about SAP including very comfortable seats, great Jumbotron with crystal clear graphics and the ability to bring food inside the Arena from the nearby Whole Foods.
My only concern was the chopped up seating. There are rows of seats you cannot access from the aisle without walking across a rode of spectators to get to your row. Obviously this was intended for Club seating but didn't work well at this event.
In the event of an emergency it would be pandemonium.

Sharks

By Gdog17 |

Went to a couple of Sharks games. Great atmosphere one of the loudest rinks in the NHL. Food and beer were expensive. Eat at home and have one beer at a game. Uber helps get you there and back safe and cheap! Great rink!

Concerts

By Dolores S |

SAP Center is an excellent concert venue. It's easy to access and eat at local restaurants and a beautiful arena.

concert

By Jennifer S |

not a bad seat in the house. Friendly employees. Great choices on food with choices on restaurants. Seats easy to find.

Went to see a Sharks gane

By Jesse T |

Great arena, get there early to find parking at or around the arena. Fans were real nice. 50-60 degrees cold in there so you dont need to bundle up much

Go Sharks!!!

By xfitshark |

Go get some Sharks hockey action at SAP! Regardless if you're here for a hockey game or a concert, SAP is a pretty cool arena. The snack bars with their beers are a little overpriced, but hey that's the sports life, and that's okay because SAP Center is well-situated to where you can enjoy other food and drink amenities before entering the rink. Whole Foods is within walking distance which has a great outdoor bar, as well as Downtown San Jose and San Pedro Square, where a whole lot of more fun is in store for you!
No matter what seat you have at SAP, the view is great from every angle. I've only been to SAP Center for Sharks games, so I cannot speak for concerts and other events. Overall, it's an awesome venue!

Awesome experience

By BuffalonianBuffalo |

Watched Shark game. It was a sweet experience. Lots of unhealthy food items but suitable for the cold. Gets a free poster as you enter. Good atmosphere for the family. Bit pricy as an activity.

Came for a concert

By Rachel Z |

Came here for a concert. Very nice facility with clear signage, clean seats and floor, clean and easy to find restrooms, friendly staff. My friend lost her purse and realized it only ~20 minutes later, but we soon found it at the lost-and-found right near the entrance with help from the staff. It’s not a huge arena so the audience were able to have great interactions with the band. Parking was easy to find and was priced reasonably for a large event. There was even a dedicated point for Uber pickup right outside the exit. Stage effect was fantastic!!!

Love the music

By Ranjithls |

I went with my boys to watch sharks game here. It was a nice experience. Loved the music. Parking, food and drinks were expensive just like any other place.

excellent hockey games!

By Donna |

We always get there early for a fantastic roast beef on bun sandwich with horseradish - then we make it to our seats and let the games begin - fantastic time is always guranteed!

Sharks games

By Standa G |

The stadium is getting old ( one of the oldest in the NHL) the drinks are overpriced and the food is mediocre. The one great thing is the Sharks. Parking is OK and there is a lot of dinning near the arena.

Sharks/Capitals Hockey Game

By Amy D |

The arena is huge and pretty. Lots of fun with enthusiastic fans. Love that I got to see the players skating out of the big shark!

Sharks Hockey game

By Jacqueline E |

Amazing place! I am an avid hockey fan. Love the Sharks! Easy to get to the tank, parking and public transportation is accessible. Fun filled place. It’s been a year or so since I have gone to another event there. Great security and they screen every one with metal detectors. Go Sharks!

SHARKS and OILERS

By Trish R |

Was in town from Edmonton and bought tickets to the game while waiting in line to get in. Very nice area with good food options. Over all was a very quiet arena compared to other sports teams we have gone to visit.....However maybe there is something to be said as their team won.

Visited for Ice Hockey

By Ros H |

Easy to find and lots of staff to speed you through security. We thought the food and drink was very expensive so didnt have any. There were signs up for people to keep seated whilst game playing but lots of people ignored this and the stewards didnt stop them! Match was obscured if person in front leaned forward, this was very annoying. We were surprised by the lack of atmosphere but maybe it is like that at Ice Hocky?

2018 US Figure Skating Championships

By C5244AFlauras |

Fun, well operated event. Parking was convenient, $20 (handicapped available), crowds entering moved quickly, concessions were well run and seating was good. Restrooms were clean, easily accessible and there were plenty. You did enter a metal detector and they checked your purse as they usually do. We could see the event well and they also have a huge screen you can watch as it's happening, with replays after each event. The ice skating was amazing, we had a great time.

Great Place to See a Game, but Do Not Plan on Exploring the Arena During Intermission

By Xerxes Z |

This was my first time in a hockey-only arena. The game experience was great! We were seated on the first row on the second level and had a great view. I doubt there is a bad seat in the house. Also, the pre-game show the Sharks put on, when the players enter, is really cool (I am not a Shark fan). It was a great place to watch a hockey game.
BUT, if you plan to leave your seat at intermission, be prepared for battle. I originally thought the single concourse was a neat idea -- easy access to all levels. The intermissions changed all of that. You could not move down the corridor. The food vendor lines had no rhyme or reason, except to go out into the middle of the concourse, so you were constantly trying to get around lines. A simple set up with ropes to guide the lines would be so very helpful. The bathroom situation was also very frustrating. They are few and far between (although the bathrooms themselves do have a lot of stalls).
Before people start blasting me and telling me there is a second concourse, there is. However, it appears to be reserved only for ticket holders of a certain level. I found a nice usher who escorted me down there so I could take a look around (I was in town from DC).
For those who watch "Tanked," that was a huge disappointment. Unless you are a member of the special club, you cannot go in and see the fish tank. You can sort of get a look at it through the glass doors, but the staff did not let people just mill around there (or go in just to see the tank). They don't even sell one-day access passes (which I understand, but it was still a bummer).

Fun and Clean

By congoroom |

This is probably the cleanest Arena I have been to. Nice, and no complaints. The seats were easy to access, and the suite area is very nice. If you have club access, ask for a "shark-tini"

Great for hockey

By Bacinac |

I visit the SAP center for sharks games.
The venue offers great views for games and fun crowds.

Easy access from Santa Clara station or Dirdiron. Definitely take the light rail rather than drive.

If you get there early enough you might find street parking about 1/2 mile away towards San Pedro square.

I cannot recommendation any food or drink vendors-i don’t eat at the arena. I’m more likely to grab a bite somewhere near San Pedro square,OG or Good Karma near the light rail stop.

Concerts!

By 1983AlexisK |

Been to a few concerts here over the years, first one being in 2001! I have always enjoyed myself but probably because of who was playing (Backstreet Boys, then Bon Jovi a few years later, then NKOTB with Backstreet Boys and Boyz II Men, then the last concert was NKOTB, Boyz II Men and 98 Degrees). The bathrooms were about what you'd expect at an arena and were clean enough and well-stocked in toilet paper. Drinks and snacks are over-priced, but that's to be expected at ANY arena. I had a very good experience there each time I went!

I last visited in 2014 but it won't let me put that so I have to put 2016. :/ Trip Advisor can you please fix it so that a person can review somewhere they've been more than 1 year previous?

Concert

By leannejohnson621 |

Saw trans sinerian orchestra. It was amazing. The acoustics volume seating were great. We had our whole family there and really had a great exoerience

Fun for any event

By coco4760 |

I used to go to Sharks game when I lived there and also many concerts. It's always high energy and parking is decent. Then aftwards you can go downtown and eat. Espacially to Chacho's yum.

Very nice concert venue

By caltravelgal |

I saw a concert here in May 2023 and was impressed by how easy it is to walk to this venue from just down the street where the eateries and bars are. It is well organized, spacious, not too confusing, and is a pretty decent venue for a show. The police also made sure that we concert-goers would not have to deal with dangerous traffic on our way out at 11pm.

Many visits, the acoustics are not very good to terrible depending on the concert.

By Brenda S |

Have seen many concerts at this venue. The sound is always too loud and distorted. Seating is okay depending on where your at. Always try to be in the first level seating to the immediate left or right of the stage if you want a decent view of the stage.

***Excellent Venue****

By David E B |

Great fan experience here. Awesome locals to watch a game with and the center has it going on with the fan experience.

Excellent arena, great food options

By HatRez |

I've been in my fair share of NHL arenas and this one is top notch and extremely fan-friendly. There are a million dining options, from greasy steak and cheese-covered tater tots to sushi and gourmet salads. There is plenty of leg room at the seats and there really isn't a bad view of the ice unless you're behind a player bench. Anything at least five rows up is amazing.

My only complaint was how uneducated a couple of the merchandise salesmen were at the selection/location/availability of certain merchandise throughout the arena. I had to do some serious walking to finally find a mini store where the two guys working at it were very knowledgeable and helpful.

Sharks Territory!

By laceyfacey |

I enjoy going to sporting events, and I can say that SAP Center has got their stuff together during Sharks games. Getting in and out for games is very well organized. Traffic control is very professional and effective. Nowhere else have I been able to get out of an arena/park/field/coliseum/etc in a mass of people with such ease. They block off the streets to make it easier for patrons to leave easily and safely. During Sharks games, the ushers ensure that people do not get in and out of their seats during play. As someone who holds in my bladder and hunger pangs until intermission, I am very thankful for this. It's extremely distracting when you have to miss a play because someone in your row wants a refill of beer for the 5th time. At least at SAP, they won't let those guys do this in the middle of play. Thank goodness for that. Always a good experience at SAP. Go Sharks!

Great Arena - Refreshments over-priced

By cirianon |

Went here to see a Sharks game, which was great fun.

I did think howwever that everything in the arena was vastly over-priced. I would have liked a beer, but I wasn't willing to pay the price, on principal.

Great for Sports - Okay for concerts

By Shannan22 |

I love SAP but....I love to go to SAP to watch the Sharks, it's always a good time. However, I'm still on the fence when it comes to concerts. I have seen everyone from Motley Crue to U2, and I have to say the acoustics can vary and are often not good. And sometimes the stage can be set up weird. For concerts I prefer Shoreline.

Arena is OK, Can't say the same about the sharks.

By Greg D |

I've been to over 25 NHL rinks. This one is average. Fans in California were better than expected but the rink was 25% empty.

Poptopia concert

By amyberghold |

Row 4 should be closer for price.
Selling merchandise for performance should be more than 3 people doing this. Crazy long line .

Great atmosphere for hockey!

By Joseph Robba |

Being a Ducks fan on the East Coast, I never thought about coming here, but having been in town for work, we got the chance to come and see the Sharks take on the Knights, we jumped on the opportunity.
Very impressed with the experience at the SAP Center, great atmosphere created by the fans, and the overall in house production was top notch. Loved the shark zamboni, the teeth chomp when an opposing player goes to the box, and the shark tunnel leading the players onto the ice.
Would love to come back for a game in the future!

Go Sharks!

By AngelaDawn F |

No bad seats at the Shark Tank! Also, recommend stopping at the outside bar at the adjacent Whole Foods before the game or event!

Bon jovi concert

By Hazel D |

Totally disappointment! The artist only perform rock song which we did not expect that he did not sing any of his hit love song in the 80's which he gained his fame. It seems as if he buried his past which is not really cool Bon Jovi performance. In addition, the SAP arena center where they held the show last night was totally a nightmare experience!! Their visual TV screen had a malfunction, so we couldn't see the artist performance on the stage. We asked the attendant staff to turn on the TV screen but we were told it was not working for 2 days. We appreciate a full refund from last night Bon Jovi show.

Not the same as the tv

By Nic nic |

This was brilliant. I highly recommend this for sports fans as it is nothing like watching it at home. The atmosphere was incredible and well worth going.

Great Hockey venue

By PeterBarras |

Had an issue with my ticket which the ticket office didnt want to know about, just wanted me to buy another ticket even though they admitted there appeared to be an issue.

As it was bought online they said bad luck.

Luckiky though the very helpful people at the information counter could help and were wonderful

Nice Venue

By Tippegirl2 |

We stopped in to see the Gymnasts compete. We are from Indiana and stayed in San Francisco. We rode the train to San Jose and were thrilled it stopped right at your doorstep. The only problem was we didn't know it. No signs anywhere we could see telling us the SAP Center was right in front of us. It could have been any stadium or venue. Please help others and put a SAP sign on your backside. The center itself is a nice venue. Sad only a few food places opened for us.

Great Venue

By Bonnie B C |

I really enjoyed watching the women's gymnastics Olympic team trials here. It was a perfect venue.

There were three small challenges:
1) parking - we had to park on the street
2) long lines to get in - not much to do about that, I suppose, but we waited for a very long time!
3) the jumbotron was blacked out in small areas that seemed strategically located where I wanted to see the athlete

The people were friendly, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

A great venue

By GlennFrancoSimmons |

Although less people can fit into the SAP than at Levi's Stadium, this venue is far better than anything that Levi's has to offer. Easy to get to, adequate parking and very easy to leave.

Sharks Hockey

By Ernie L |

Great place to watch a hockey game. Virtually no bad seats in the place. Good beer options are available, if you look around. Decent food choices as well.

Entertainment place

By Quynh N |

It is a fun place to be outside of work. We usually go there with group of colleagues and we always had fun to watch shows / games . Lines are long sometime though. Oh and uber with others is the best option if you dont want to pay parking and stuck in traffic after the games

Lots of Great Memories from SAP

By FoodieDoodie58 |

It's a little unusual rating an arena. I've been to SAP many times over the years for lots of sporting events, shows, and Cirque du Soleil. It's consistently been a very good facility. I have no major complaints. It's close to the major freeways. There are numerous restaurants within 5-15 minutes walking distance. The interior of the arena is well laid out and has always been clean. I look forward to future events at SAP.

Great place to see a hockey game

By Michael C |

I go to several hockey games each year and sat all around the arena. There really ins't a bad seat in the house. upstairs is steep but that's by design so you can see better. Sit above row 8 in the lower so you can see the entire rink. Food there is decent with satellite restaurants like Armadillo Willie's. Like most arenas, food and beverage is expensive.

Concerts are a different story. The sound bounces a lot so you need to be facing the stage as much as possible for the best sound.

Great concert venue

By dadhikari2017 |

It can get really loud so take your earbuds to protect your hearing. Food choices are good, could be better.

Needs updating

By SommGuy |

Great atmosphere but they really need to update the facilities nicely located downtown and lots of pay for parking option really fun arena

Fun night of hockey

By dukestravels |

Great place to see a game. The arena has an electric atmosphere for Sharks games and it's really a fun night of hockey action. The team does a great job of making it fun for the whole family. Lots of parking right at the arena.

Go Sharks - to tLord Stanleys Cup!

By Michael W |

The Shark tank is always great experience - win or lose. It will be even better as they move into the play-offs.
Access, egress, and even free parking sometimes make this enjoyable. And the fans are almost universally real fans, there for the sport, and not drinking and carousing.
$11.00 for a beer is steep, but that's reflective of prices at any professional sports event (except those San Jose Giants).

Over Priced Parking and Food

By CI R |

Home of The San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League (NHL), the building and events scheduling is overseen by the Sharks Management, in a "deal" that was poorly handled; by The City of San Jose.

Parking and Venue Food is always overpriced, no matter the event. Always the same menu.

I try to avoid this place, as much as possible, and I live in the local area.

Not a bad seat in the house

By Lori S |

I've been to SAP Center for concerts, Shark games and other pavilion events. No matter where I sit, the view is great. When I attended the Stanley Cup, the only tickets I could afford were rather high up. I was surprised to find that I actually enjoyed the game more from this perspective than lower on the floor.

The setup of the Center also allows for great concert viewing. Its a rather small arena compared to other arenas/stadiums in the area (49'er Stadium, Oakland Coliseum, Shoreline, etc.) and I find I enjoy events here more than anywhere else.

If I have my pick of locations to view an event, this is always my first choice.

Watch San Jose Sharks!

By 417christiaanc |

Great venue, awesome tourist experience... first time at Ice Hockey.
Brace yourself... food amd drinks inside is very very expensive!

I had a great time watching the US championship of figure skating

By IcyApple |

I guess my impression is biased by the great time I had watching the most amazing figure skating championship. Parking was very difficult and security was very tight. I had to check in my selfie stick at the door!

Great place to watch a game.

By Irishnite |

SAP is a great venue for a game. It is large but open and offers comfortable seating. The concessions are very expensive, so be prepared, otherwise eat beforehand. It seems to offer a good seat from every angle. It's very easy to get to and offers some paid parking close by. There are also many places to park along the streets behind the venue to park for free, but they fill up quickly. Getting in and out is very easy and it clears out very quickly as well.

Hockey Heaven

By Kurt L |

Visited this arena a week or so ago for a NHL hockey game featuring the San Jose Sharks. Great venue to watch sporting events, concerts and speciality events such as the circus and the Harlem Globetrotters. All seats provide an excellent view of the action and the 18 thousand crowd capacity helps bring some intimacy to the event. Parking is provided nearby and plenty of restaurants and hotels dot the downtown area. Next time you visit the San Jose area make it a point to attend an event at the Sap center! You won’t regret the experience!😎

Andrea Bocelli - WOW!

By MarchelleC |

What a fantastic concert by Andrea Bocelli! Was a bit worried about it being such a giant place but the acoustics were great and the concert was great. They got everyone in and out just fine.

Great experience!

By Dr. Hopelyn B |

Great experience! I definitely look forward to visiting this location again. Easy to park - use parking lots and not street parking.

Go Barracuda

By Luv2hikejulie |

Attend Barracuda games at the SAP Center. The center is well situated with plenty of places to eat within walking distance. There are also plenty of places to park both on-street and in lots for $15. Overall impressed with services and concerts available at the center.

The Tank

By martinvahur |

Great, of course, for hockey and also concerts; the sound for concerts may not be so good but usually is better than an outdoor venue.

Always a great time

By Josh M |

I come to a few sharks games every year plus the occasional concert/comedian. The facilities area great, very clean, easy in/out for parking and minimal traffic. Good concession variety and not really a bad seat in the house (specifically for hockey games). Staff is always friendly.

Love coming to hockey games here.

Sharks is a must for every tourist

By Henri D |

SAP stadium is just outside of downtown San Jose. Park in the city center ($10 night fee) and stroll for about a mile to the stadium. Tickets for the Sharks are fair prices affordable ($45). Prices inside the stadium are steep. Draft beer will do $11 and a simple cheesburger $9. so take that into consideration. The game in itself however is a must (especially for Europeans). The way the crowd engages is spectacular and sometimes even more fun to watch than the game itself.

Concert

By bella22lopez |

Nkotb and boyz 2 men. Awesome!!! Had so much fun. The bands were great!!!!!! Love watching bands when you can tell how much they love their fans!!!!

Amazing view!

By Jaimi O |

I had never been to a professional hockey game prior to attending the Sharks vs. Penguins game. I can honestly say, there is not a bad seat in the house. This is an amazing venue that offers everyone in attendance their monies worth!! I would not hesitate to go back.

Great Service

By Paul H |

Went to the SAP Center for Andrea Boccelli's concert and were very impressed. It is just an arena but the staff everywhere we went were friendly and helpful from getting to our seats, selling beverages and giving directions as we left, they were all great. It is like any other large arena where the seats are close together and your with 15000 other people but it was a great arena experience.

Nice Place

By Docia E |

Just watched a Bellator event here and it was really nice. Of course the food and drink were all great overpriced but you expect it at these types of events.

Great Auditorium

By Ven Y |

Attended a couple of shark games. Really cool place. Plenty of parking and accessible from VTA. Gets really loud in a good way.

Sharks ticket holder, so SAP Center is a frequent visit!

By Trixie J |

I was on the San Jose City Council when the building opened, so I know all the special things we did to make the building a success -- high quality materials, big restrooms (especially for women!), and the contract arrangements with the Sharks management who run the building with city supervision. You would not guess its age -- it looks terrific! Pretty good sound systems for concerts. In many years one of the busiest buildings in the world. Accessible by bus and light rail (recommended).

US Figure Skating

By Mitch H |

Attended an event for 6 days at the SAP Center. Seats were very comfortable even though we were there some days for 10 hours. Concessions were not all open and were very expensive. Bottle of water was $5.50. Very clean restrooms. Parking for 6 days was only $110.00, not bad.

Great arena for concerts/sports

By benzslkgirl |

I've been to many events here, including a lot of concert, and just went to another one this past weekend. Great venue. Considering how many cars are in the lot, it's pretty easy to get out. Nice amount of room to walk around in the concourse. Big restrooms. Pretty clean.

Great Hockey Stadium

By Ryan |

This is a great place for a hockey game. The San Jose Sharks call this place home and it's always enjoyable to catch a game here. The stadium is easily accessible from the freeway and the entrance and exit is really good. The overall stadium has a great feel to it from the food to the seating. Most things are easy to find and the view from the seats are decent even on the second level. The only knock I found was the seats tend to be close together in the second level so unfortunately with people coming and going it can get a little annoying. But other than that it's a great pro hockey experience.

Cool

Cool little arena, nothing spectacular to say about it. Was here to see the WWE Hall of Fame and Monday Night Raw

Great place for a show

By Kelly S |

The SAP center is wonderful. The temperature inside is just right. There are plenty of restrooms. They are great at helping the handicap with seating and security. There is a wide array of food vendors and people selling theme related shirts, etc.

Stevie Nicks/Pretenders Concert

This is an Awesome arena, has a lot of vendor space so lines are not bad at all to stand in and not wait forever so you miss what you are there for.

Great place to see an NHL Game!

By pasowine |

We saw the Sharks play - first time at SAP Arena. What a nice place to watch hockey. The arena was easy to get to by foot from the hotels downtown San Jose (and avoid the parking mess). Lots of food choices everywhere and quite a nice wide walking area outside the seating area. We will be back!

Good place to watch hockey

By 1GiantsMSo |

This is a great location to watch hockey. We had seats in the lower bowl with great sight lines down the ice. Easy to follow the puck and fun to watch the players as they worked hard on the ice. Lucky to have aisle seats so it was easy to get out to the restroom and concessions. Certainly recommend.

Sharks game.

By Bob B |

Was in town for business and went to a Sharks game. Nice arena. Great atmosphere for hockey. Plenty of different choices for food and beer. Plenty of parking nearby. Sat in lower level and great view of the game.

Good logistics for an arena

By Alan S |

I was recently there for a concert. Getting into the building was easy and quick even with security. Getting out was just as painless since there are a lot of exits. The seating area could use a little more ushers as it can be difficult to find your seat in the dark. Of course be prepared to pay ransom prices for parking, food, and drinks. If you're familiar with the surrounding area, there are cheaper and even free parking if you don't mind walking a little farther.

Fun Place to Be!

By Jana |

Great venue with super friendly people. Enjoyed a sharks game and lots of fun, even though they lost. Will do it again.

Hockey

By crashjohnson |

This is a great venue for hockey. Not a bad seat in The house. Needs more entertainment around the area.

What a COOL Place!

By Jodel |

We watched a San Jose Sharks NHL game and the experience was very exciting and fast-paced and entertaining. I was particularly impressed with the staff's treatment of my young nieces. They wanted them to maximize their experience, so they brought them to ice level to see the players warm up, and also find the Sharky mascot. Wonderful for kids.

It was a great evening. Thoroughly enjoyed watching it with family. Will love to see him again. Great cultural fun.

Nice Areana

By cmm576 |

Good for sporting events (Sharks) and concerts. Not really a bad seat in the house. Like any arena, food and parking aren't cheap.

Really great arena

By matt k |

Saw foo fighters in sept and the Sharks in october on 2 seperate business trips.
Great location. Excellent beer. Food ok 😂

great!!

By nickyng1975 |

very good place i love it!!! roght in downtown San Jose, perfect for my family and friends, close to restaurants just loved it!!!!

Meh

By Jack W |

SAP center is a place of highs and lows, and it works better for some events over others. For hockey it is pretty good. Of course the closer to the ice the better, but even in the rafters the view is good enough. I saw a woman four rows from the top get knocked out by a puck, which was good proof in reverse that sightlines are good.
For concerts it is a giant echo barn. Also, maybe because it is kind of linear rather than rounded, some views leave you twisted.
The concessions are okay, kind of typical and sometimes serving cold. As food. If you drink it is fine lots of kiosks with beer and cocktails and the bars are nice.

Great Hockey Venue!

By DaisyDot24 |

We hosted several clients for a hockey game and this arena was great. The events staff was so easy to work with. The suites are really nice and the food was plenty and tasty. The arena is spacious, bright, and easy to navigate.

A Sharks game is a great way to see the stadium!

Queen + Adam Lambert

By chiefguard |

We have never seen Queen and with Adam Lambert it was awesome to see them preforming all their great hits. Now the SAP Center was very clean and big. The staff we very professional and helpful. My wife and I wanted a drink 🥃 to take to our seats we order two drinks (double) and it cost $38.00. It was Jim Beam and coke. I could have bought a 1.75 liter and coke for that price. But not unusual at a concert. The concert was outstanding.

Great venue to see a hockey game or concert.

By S517NLstevena |

We've been going to SAP Center since it opened. The venue still looks great! The seating allows for good viewing of all the events we've seen. The food selections get better every year and include name restaurants. The meals may cost a bit more than at their restaurants, but the food is good.

Fun evening at Shark Tank

By Nerad |

Sharks lost the game but SAP Center offers good sight lines even in the "cheaper" seats. Good food options

A great hockey arena!

By LG4KL |

This is a great hockey arena with a fantastic atmosphere when Sharks is playing well. It gets really loud and regardless of seats that I have tried, on both tiers, you feel that you are the “middle of it”

Great Hockey Experience

By avgjoey |

Went to game and the experience for hockey is like being at a game in Canada. Great sight lines and a lot of food choices. My biggest complaint hence the four rating is no designated driver program (first time ever)
Plenty of parking available around the arena.
Good time!

Superb Experience

By FrequentFlier668444 |

Attended a Neil Diamond concert at the center and thoroughly enjoyed it. Impressed at the capacity of the place with seating for over 17,000 people; as well as by the efficient handling of patrons by staff of the center. The washrooms were clean and well-ventilated and the temperature control was ideal.

An important safety consideration in centers like these is the speed of evacuation. Importantly, there were enough exit points to move patrons onto the streets in less than 10 minutes. Happy I decided on the SAP to enjoy this memorable show.

Great for hockey

By Bacinac |

I visit the SAP center for sharks games.
The venue offers great views for games and fun crowds.

Easy access from Santa Clara station or Dirdiron. Definitely take the light rail rather than drive.

If you do drive, exit Julian street off of 87. Leads you to one of main lots - parking is $25.

Alternatively, you can find cheaper parking on Santa Clara street near Almaden Rd or stop at San Pedro’s square and get a parking ticket validation from one of the local eateries.

I cannot recommend any food or drink vendors-i don’t eat at the arena. I’m more likely to grab a bite somewhere near San Pedro square,OG or Good Karma near the light rail stop.

Great place to see some hockey!

By valzebub |

Very nice arena to check out some hockey. There wasn't much of a price difference between the first rows near the ice and the first rows in the second section, so we sat three rows back. Very awesome to see the game so close and really feel a part of it.

The only bad part was that very few vendors walk around, at least on the lower level. We only saw a cotton candy guy once. They do have "waiters" but they come very infrequently and it takes forever to get your order. My friend ordered a beer at the start of the third period and it never showed up.

We would've been better off just going to the concession stand-much quicker and you get what you paid for. The "Chum" beer wasn't bad, a nice red ale.

Many good food options inside, if you sit down low you can get into the more exclusive area of vendors- much less crowded and calmer.

Needs Better Management

By ADKTraveler12 |

I was here for the NCAA Sweet 16. The court was nice, the arena was clean and the workers friendly. However, the first day of games there were no individual player statistics provided anywhere. I had to an app to keep updated on how many fouls and points players had. The second day there was a game statistics were on the scoreboard, but often times was wrong. I am not sure why when hosting an event of this importance, the stats were not provided both days.

The second day of games was also terrible for getting in the arena. Lines from one gate to the other ran into each they were so long. There needed to be more security stations so people could get in quicker.

Another thing that was very annoying is that ushers did not check tickets of people going to their seat. My seat was in the lower level and as the game went on, people would come down to sit in empty seats. This was annoying when trying to watch the game - people were regularly blocking my view from the game. After teams lost on the first day it was disgusting how scalpers came right down to the spectators of the losing team and were trying to buy tickets to sell for the final set of games. I have seen this occur at other arenas, but outside the arena, never right at the seats. The scalpers buying tickets were very aggressive and very annoying. Gosh, these fans team just lost and before the fans could even stand up the scalpers were in their face. It sure did make for an uncomfortable experience.

The workers could be a bit more knowledgeable also about the facility. When I went to exit the arena, I was near a different entrance/exit that I came into. Not being from the area and this being my first time at the arena I asked an usher where the exit near me would bring me on the street as I wanted to be sure I was going to the correct area to return to my hotel. The usher didn't have any idea what street the exit would bring me to.

Overall, the facility was clean, the lighting was good and workers were friendly. There are some aspects that need to be tuned up to host the NCAA tournament again.

Great venue for Shark's games or concerts

By sirmeandt |

Our first time here was for an Eagles concert, and it was way cool. Great time, parking pretty easy in lot at front of arena, security thorough, but understandable for the times we live in.

Take some cash with you, fastest way to get service and do business.

We enjoyed having a family event here, seeing the Sharks. Game went into overtime, so . . . FREE hockey : )

As always, you'll pay top dollar for drinks and food. I just come prepared, as I like my pints at concerts or games. You know, small equity loan on the house, and you might be able to afford some food too.

Then there's the souvenirs. I did find if I looked around, I was able to save some bucks on a Shark's jersey. Also, happened to be there on free "beany" night. That was cool, I cut the little ball off when we got home. People behind me complained it messed up their view of the game.

They allowed smoking on the outside balconies, for the concert, not sure about Sharks games.

Long front lines? Go around back, walked right in, and it was a full house, that night.

Also, park by the exits in the parking lot, if you want a quick out.

All who worked for and at the arena were very helpful and friendly.

Definitely, a great place for any event.

One complaint, and that's about the Authentic Fan flyers. Once on the floor, down the aisle, to your seat, these things are slippery, so watch out for them, or you'll find yourself sitting down, before you reach your seat. Not necessarily, happily.

Rudest Home Team Fans, Horribly Scary Experience

By moviegal226 |

I traveled to San Jose last week to attend Game 1 of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs between the Sharks and my home team, the Vegas Golden Knights. I wish I'd never made the trip because my group left absolutely terrified by the abusive and aggressive Sharks fans at the game .

The SAP Center is a scary place to be an opposing team's fan. I've been to plenty of arenas but this is the most hostile place I've ever been. What's worse is that this obnoxious fan behavior seems to not only be tolerated but encouraged by the staff and team. I've contacted those in charge about my experience and their response was basically blaming the victim.

Let me tell you what I personally experienced at the game I attended:

1. Homophobic Slurs

Hurled anti-gay insults at several opposing fans, and yelling inappropriate terms throughout the game.

2. Mocking the Handicapped

In our section there was a young, redheaded, handicapped Vegas fan sitting along the glass. When the Knights scored, his guardian would lift him out of his chair so he could cheer on his team. A group of men behind us yelled things like "sit down, you f'ing retarded Chucky!" and worse verbal abuse that I can't write here.

3. Wishing Gun Violence on Vegas Visitors

Several Sharks fans yelled very upsetting things about the 1 October shooting at us throughout our visit at SAP Center, including "I wish that shooter had killed you" and "too bad he missed the Golden Knights when he opened fire." It was disgusting.

4. Sexually Aggressive Behavior

I was with my twenty-something, very pretty, female cousin. Made the mistake of letting her go to the restroom after the second period, unaccompanied. She came running back to her seat, out of breath and in tears. Apparently while she was in line on the concourse, a group of Sharks fans surrounded her and started booing. Okay, whatever. But then they became increasingly aggressive, surrounded her and getting closer, saying "you're far from home, little girl," and eventually "take it off" while one man began to tug at her sweater. Not knowing what to do, she ran.

5. Physical Contact

The women behind us not only leaned forward to scream in our ears when the Sharks scored, but they also physically slapped us with their rally towels while cursing. It was no accident, they purposely hit us over and over.

Good-natured sports banter is fun, and we did experience some of that, but we were legit scared at this arena. We never said ONE WORD nor even so much as LOOKED at any Sharks fans and my group was harassed to the point we feared for our safety.

We weren't alone.

I have heard similar stories from visiting fans at the SAP Center, and people warned me how aggressive Sharks fans can be.

Leaving the arena after the game was bad too, as "F$%K Vegas Fans" chants broke out. Why not be happy your team won instead of insulting your visiting guests? On our walk back to our hotel, people rolled down their car windows to curse at us.

I was appalled at the behavior I witnessed. We are NEVER going back to that arena, because it's not worth the verbal and physical harassment. We were legitimately afraid for our safety, and I would discourage anyone, especially women traveling alone, to avoid this place.

Big and Expensive

By Aimee B |

We went to the SAP Center for the Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastics Champions 2016.

We found the parking lot right off the freeway, which was nice. Not too expensive and close enough to the center.

We got into the center without issue. But it's huge. We found restrooms (as we drove 1 1/2 hours to get there) and then went in search of food options before sitting in our seats.

I was alone with my two children and found that the lines so horrendously long no matter which food choice you made. Not only was it super expensive (expected) it was just as bad as you would expect.

Seating was fine. Getting out of the center was fine.

I just wasn't impressed.

Great

By DrCDB |

This arena is very well organised and very well maintained. The food service is good as well. The pick up and drop off is clearly defined as well. We saw the Lakers and the Barracudas in two different games.

Poor experience/almost kicked out for reporting issues to a staff member

By Kennedy F |

Safety doesn’t seem a priority anymore, attended a show and was threatened to be kicked out for reporting an issue to the usher in my section even though I hadn’t not said a word to anyone nor did my partner. Others did in my section to the people that were causing a disturbance. But the ushers felt the need to tell us we could be removed if anyone complained again. The usher did not take any time to listen to our side besides threatening to remove us. I expect better from this arena. Training is clearly lacking here and I can’t say I will be back after wasting money on a show I could only hear half of due to these disturbances. We were cursed at, and nobody in our section could hear the show. Many even as far as five rows in front of us were turning around to see what these people were doing. The usher had started to act entirely different when I mentioned how it seemed unrational to remove two people who haven’t spoken a word to anyone and had not had any drinks tonight. Who had to alert this young man to the issues in his section. I was a paying customer I didn’t attend to have to train someone’s staff member. Thank you to the lovely guest services employees who listened last night and got us new seats. It didn’t help fix the fact we missed the majority of the show but I helped us see a tiny glimpse of what we paid for. Almost 48hrs later and still haven’t heard anything from the venue to discuss the interaction I had with their usher.

Great Sharks Experience!

By TravelerSHL |

This is a great arena - open and clean and well run. The food is typical of most arenas offering burgers, hot dogs, nachos, fries, chicken tenders, barbeque, sandwiches, and salads. Ushers were friendly and helpful. The store was good sized with many kiosks around the arena as well.

Mixed experience & it ain't cheap

By Norman R |

Saw Disney on Ice with kids in front row--great. Previously attended a performance in the upper most balcony; the performers on stage were minuscule. Also, attended a performance with ground-floor seating; better view of performers on stage but not when audience in front of you starts standing up blocking the view and drowning out the music/singing with their own sounds. I'd rather stay home and save money for the very expensive seats. Parking is a problem with sell-out performances. Consider Uber to and from.

A venue like any other

By Alejandro Fiacro |

Not much to say about the SAP center. Other then it’s homes to the San Jose Sharks and hosts a lot of concerts. It’s great if you’re a fan of sports or going to see your favorite artist. Drinks and food are a bit expensive but I’m sure it’s like any other venue.

Hockey!

By TravelBugKrueger |

My family and I have come here on numerous occasions for hockey. Both Sharks and Barracuda games. They keep the area clean and the sound and graphics systems are really good. We've never had any issues with the staff. We have (so far) had pleasant experiences.

Amazing Hockey Ice Game

By Gadner |

Excellent infra and services. Enjoyed a lot watching Sharks Ice Hockey match. Very good view almost every place in the arena.

Shark Tank experience

By Peter K |

Compared to Sweden the consessions and venue is "top notch". The whole experience is magical, more so when Sharks win
Tickets can be costly but you can almost always get OK seats the same day for half the price.

POOR Organization

By 762cherylp |

Parking was a mess and they didn't tell us it would take 2 hours to get into the venue!!! We stood in line for 2 hours and missed the whole first act and part of the second act. I will never go to SAP again.

Always fun to come here for a game. Well organized, easy in, lines go fast. Get here early for no stress.

Best stadium in the South Bay

By greglynn42 |

I have been attending San Jose Sharks games here for a quarter century. In the last 16 years probably 10 to 15 events a year including music concerts, professional tennis matches, special events. It is an extremely well built facility that lends itself to easy upgrades; latest are video ad and information walls in the concourse, upgraded central game video, audio and lighting. It has two levels of boxes, a full club level under first floor seating, special rooms for events. Onsite parking and easy access to nearby downtown parking make ingress and egress from SAP relatively painless. Food venues are good inside during Sharks games and there are a variety of great places to eat 4-6 blocks walking distance. The train station and VTA are also very close. Security is the best for a venue I have seen to date, lots of friendly staff in blue coats take care of business proactively, very family friendly. During a Sharks game seats about 17,500 people. As it was built to ensure a good view during hockey there is really not a bad seat in the house. Look for discounted tickets on StubHub for almost any event held there. SAP is one of the few things San Jose has done really well.

Bill Clinton/James Patterson Book tour

By Marcia K |

We usually come here for large venues, concerts, sports. Last night was a much more intimate setting that was created by making th SAP center roughly 1/3 it’s usual size. I think most same day tickets were given floor seating to fill it in. We had sec 101 row 2 which was really perfect. Large area for a book review but they made it feel cozy. I was told that they sold 2,000 tickets. Small number for SAP but it felt good!

Getting a little old

By CasualHockeyFan |

Attend multiple hockey games per season, and after more than 25 years, the "Shark Tank" is getting a little dated. As for game day, their policies and entrance procedures could use an overhaul. It's not very patron friendly or efficient. The seats could use an upgrade as the padding in some (most?) is breaking down. Bathrooms are adequate, and food options are pretty good as far as arenas go.

Hockey, Paws and Pucks Night

By Joyce W |

Part of SAP center was sectioned off for dogs and their owners. Each dog had their own seat which gave everyone a bit of space. Most of the dogs and owners seemed to have a good time. A few of the dogs were a little concerned about the noise of the Hockey game. I thought the whole thing was well organized. We look forward to do it again.

Business

By GH2210 |

I had a convention SAP centre and wants located the seating for the first day ended up staying that general area for the four days as we were able to locate the lower section for facilities bathroom etc. Also it was an easy out of the stadium if we needed to leave the stadium
Great WiFi for those that needed to use it good facilities good food variety although not cheap but that's normal in a sporting stadium.

Aging Gracefully

By toga1k |

Decent place to come watch Shark's games or concerts. Parking is pretty easy around the neighborhood. The arena is getting up in age so will expect an upgrade or a new facility if the city of San Jose can afford it. Not as nice a place to play Beer league hockey since they don't turn on any A/C so the place can get stuffy and hot, even if you are at ice level.

Sharks Game

By Rob K |

A really great experience. For an arena that seats 17k people, there was a small venue feel to it which was amazing. Two bowls upper and lower, not a bad seat in the house! Highly recommend catching a game here if you’ve got the chance!

We were here for the Queen + Adam Lambert concert. The concert and venue were amazing.

By dbwbear |

The lines were very efficient. The staff was friendly and helpful. Loved the escalators as stairs sometimes present a problem. Took a pedi-cab ride from the hotel to the venue. Well worth the $20.00. Highly recommended for concerts and sports events.

Sharks game 3/4 vs Blue Jacekts

By lufthansa455 |

Very well organized and well taken care of. Concession stands and food was very good.
Lot's of places to buy food and drink. Very kids friendly.

Great venue to watch a concert

By lovept |

My friends and I were just here last week for the Justin Timberlake concert and it was wonderful. The arena is nice and clean. Staff and security nice yet professional with their job. I LOVE that they give you lids for your beer and wine cups so if you are in GA you don't have it spilled all over you. Everything was clearly marked as far as where to go. Great experience overall.

Sharks Games, Ice Shows, Concerts.

By Linda B |

We have attended several Sharks games at the SAP center, the last one was last night, as well as a Disney on ice and a Barry Manalo Concert.
Seats are always easy to find, and the staff is helpful. As expected, food costs are pricey, but no more than any other center, and parking is pretty thick. Give yourself plenty of time before your event to ensure you can park and be in your seats on time. Parking runs about $25.00 on site. There are other parking options near by, as well as taking the light rail, although you will have to walk a few blocks from the station. Over all, a very good place to see all types of venues. I am currently looking forward to seeing Jeff Dunham there on March 7, 2018.
Seat prices vary by the event, and most areas are acceptable with a decent view.

Andre Rieu Concert

By JULIE M |

We went to the Andre Rieu Concert here. Very nice facility, although getting in was a bit of a wait. We have great seats, close to the bar, and the bar service was really fast! The bathrooms were a bit backed up with lines, but that's typical everywhere! The Event Staff was very helpful and polite!

NEVER PREPARED FOR MASSES OF PEOPLE

By louseuferer |

I recently went to a Barracuda game and the food lines were long and slow the whole game. Most of the taps were not working for the $2.00 beers. At least it wasn't smelly beer like it is during the Sharks games.

Well Organized Concert/Sports Venue

By Abbe L |

Herding people in and out of concert/sports venues is never easy at the best of times. The SAP Center does a better than average job at moving people along without leaving one feeling like a herded animal! The staff at the bars do their very best to accommodate and keep smiles on their faces as countless numbers of humans jockey for position. I do agree with some other reviewers that potentially they could hire a few more bartenders on occasion, but on the whole, they do a wonderful job. I have been a Sharks fan for many years, and of course, I always think more highly of the venue when the Sharks win! Human nature I guess!!

Concert

By cannonater |

First time here and very impressed... went to the I-heart radio concert. Good sound quality and the venue was easy to maneuver around .

Good concert venue

By Heathbul |

We recently attended the Harry Styles concert while visiting the area on vacation. The SAP Center has good parking available although a bit pricey. $25 for the closest lots. We paid $20. I was impressed with the safety precautions. Both metal detectors and bag searches. I also noticed they were walking around with a bomb sniffing dog for the entire event. I subtracted 1 star for the signage. Being new to the arena, I found that the signage was a bit lacking and had to ask a couple of times for help. On the plus side, there were always staff members around to help. Nice place. I recommend it.

Service is the key

By Snakewrangler |

The arena is nice. It's clean and big enough to accommodate the crowds. Getting in was easy and fast. The people were all very nice. BUT...the nachos, popcorn and hotdog bun were stale. Something tasted funny with the dog. Bottles of Budweiser are $10.25 each!! It took my wife almost an entire period to get two beers and a hotdog. Incredibly slow service.

SAP Center Review

By jkendo |

Been a long time San Jose Sharks season ticket holder so have good expwrience. Amazingly nice venue as it is celebrating 25th anniversay. Pluses; good seats, comfortable, good swlection of food. My favorie is armadillo willy brisket sandwich, gourmet popcorn, Rita gelati, and you get additional good options when you go to the premium dining below. Cool memoribilia there too. Been there for concerts and shows and is fairly intimate venue too.
Minuses; parking not cheap, food pricey or not too tasty, can be cold inside, long bathroom lines for both sexes, and can be lots of steps if physically challenge. All in all, I like this place for many events. Fairly safe area, be smart. Close to good restaurants, Whole Foods, hotels, Caltrain, lightrail, and Freeways. It remains to be seen what will happen if and when Google Village surrounds it.

Family Fun at SAP Center

SAP Center is a fun place for family. Do plan on walking a lot unless you want to pay for premium parking. Even last row (cheapest) seats are good for hockey games.

Was lots of fun, Sharks won. Venue was packed but got seats on #seatgeek an hour before the game for $30 each.

San Jose Sharks

Great venue for a sporting event. Lower level is best for feeling the action. Parking onsite for a nominal fee but better prices than most centers with this type of entertainment.

U2 concert

By Britneysmi32 |

I went here for U2's songs of experience and I have to say I was quite happy, it was organized well, the bathrooms were clean. The sound was great I was able to hear U2 perfectly well. I was one the floor, people didn't push and respected your space.

Great PBR Event

By winecountrylovers |

Attended the inaugural PBR event at the SAP center this weekend. The parking was very easy and within a nice distance. The building was easy to navigate. The workers were very accommodating and willing to help. Event went off without a hitch and people seemed to enjoy themselves. Hopefully they will be back next year.

Great Venue

By S C |

SAP is a great venue. I've attended hockey games and concerts there. Nice area in San Jose, close to hotels if you want to stay the evening. Affordable parking close by as well as good places to eat.

Well-run center

By Niels J |

I saw the Sharks/NHL game. Works well like other newer arenas. Lines coming in as well as to the toilets during pauses. Not very comfortable seats. View OK.

Average Hockey Arena

By bruce p |

I'm on a quest to hit every hockey arena in the United States for the NHL. Been the most of them got about six left. This one is pretty average. It's very new looking and very clean. However The Concourse concessions that they have is set up weird where the lines for the concession block the flow of traffic moving around The Concourse area. The part of town it's in kind of sucks to as there are no entertainment options outside of the Arena like bars restaurants or that kind of thing it's pretty Barren out here. A lot of homeless and bums are all around the area as well. They do have a smoking patio but remember in California weed is legal so there's a lot of pot smoking going on out there. They're nice sight lines from all the seats as it's more of a vertical Stadium. The seats are kind of tight and but there are cup holders. The scoreboard is backwards, they put the home team on the left side when the home team is always supposed to be on the right side. or when it's over under the hometeam is always supposed to be on the bottom. The only sport was an exception to this is Major League Soccer. There is easy parking in the neighborhood around the arena with plenty of public parking lots I paid about $25. The pregame show was pretty lame there wasn't much to it other than the big shark head that comes down from the ceiling other than that not much to it. It was kind of weird that right before they do the national anthem when they announced they going to do the national anthem the whole crowd yells to the other team " you suck ", that kind of took away the spirit of the national anthem to me. Was disappointed in their sportsmanship throughout the game. There weren't very many special chance or things that they do. When the opposing team goes in the Penalty Box they do this hand claw thing that makes it look like Jaws for a Shark was kind of goofy. Good variety of concession options one of the best I've seen him. Only thing is they don't offer Fountain sodas it's only bottled soda which makes it impossible to get a souvenir cup like you'd get elsewhere. Pictures are included of the event

Sharks hockey!

By Lynnell B |

We have been too many Sharks games over the past several years and have not had a bad seat in the house. Food and drinks are pricey but typical event center prices. Plenty of parking available around the center.

Awesome Place to Catch a Game, Concert or Event

By Robert S |

Been here many times. great place for any event. Staff is very friendly and helpfull with anything you need.

Good Venue

By mauiwolf |

Went there for a hockey game. I don’t imagine there’s a bad seat, though I did find the seating to be a bit cramped.

The concourse has a good amount of room and there are a variety of food options. Yes, they are expensive, but I’ve been to other arenas where that stuff cost more.

I was annoyed that my wife wasn’t allowed to bring her small purse in. You can only bring clear bags. Their rules are a bit over the top. Her bag was a small satchel. She ended up throwing it in the trash and taking her few things out. It was very unnecessary.

Arena just off the transit center.

By jajavalB |

This venue for sporting events, concerts and performances are very convenient to reach by public transportation. Busy for the games on weekend and holidays , this area is modern, secured. Its parking lots are also plentiful, just next to Guadaloupe riverwalk.

Awesome time

By Sean S |

Went to Sharks game and had a great time. Game was great as was the food and beer. SAP employees were helpful and curtious. Will definitely go again.

Great venue

By Mara B |

We were here for a convention for the second time. I continue to be impressed with the management and customer service. Apparently many of their food vendors are not open unless the Sharks are playing. As a result, the arena allows convention attendees to bring in their own food and beverages. That's good, since the vendors that are open are quite expensive, as is the case at most arenas. Once again I was impressed at the customer service.

Went to many events, and had much fun

By Joseph P |

I've been here for sharks games, mma fights, figure skating events, and everything in between. It is a really enjoyable place with good seats.

Awesome venue!

By Stefani1220 |

I have attended concerts, hockey games and even a middle school graduation in the SAP center. Parking is easy, plenty of food options, and close to the freeway and great restaurants.

Nice Venue for Hockey

By lokiguy |

Visited from Calgary to watch Sharks play the Flames. We had come from LA and Anaheim, and after experiencing the rudeness of the fans in Anaheim, followed by the classy fans in LA, we did not know whet to expect. The seats we had were fabulous, venue staff were helpful, and bar staff were amazing. Really great venue to watch a hockey game in, and the fans are also pretty classy! Only had one guy make rude comments about our jerseys, so miles ahead of Anaheim in that regard. Would definitely come back and watch another game here!

Good concert venue but beware of clear bag policy

By SeeTheW0rld62 |

We went to a concert at SAP recently, we've seen many concerts there before. This time we were surprised that you can't bring purses in, only clear bags. I understand the policy but w should have been notified ahead of time. There wasn't anything on the tickets stating this. I bought the tickets through StubHub and there wasn't any info about the policy there either. On the positive side, the concert was great and now we know about the clear bag policy.

Go SHARKS!

By Christine W |

Not sure if it's because we are huge Shark fans, traveling from Hawaii every year for several games but we go see the Sharks play in Anaheim, LA, and Arizona and we think SAP is the best venue, although I like the pretzel at Staple Center better. Good concessions, easy to find you way around and lots of friendly staff. We usually sit in the same area and the ushers always remember us!!!

Aging event center... grab your pockets and empty them!!!

By flynford |

Aging event center, seats are Grungy, expensive parking, dated audio system, and over priced hockey seats. I used to go there a lot the first few years when it first opened. We had season tickets to the Sharks. We now only go games when the timing is good to attend a game in-person but now with Hi-Def television programming there isn’t much reason to
Pay over $80 for a marginal nose bleed seats with crappy wi-fi. Over priced, sloths for servers, and ill-prepared food. There isn’t much motivation to shell out a couple hundred bucks per person anymore.

Shark Tank is a treat.

By Ron G |

The Hockey arena is just off the Downtown area and easy to get to. There are many restaurants along the way and the SAP Center has many food and drink choices.

Great venue for many events

By David OConnor |

This properly designed arena has no bad seats for a hockey game, circus, NCAA March madness or a big name performing artist. Superb digital sound system. The concourse contains a local hall of fame. Food and drink choices are various but pricey. Very accessible for all abilities. Team pride shows everywhere in the arena no matter which sport is being played. A must visit when in San Jose !!!!!!

Unleash the Power Withing

By Keith H |

Let me first start by saying that I was there for 4 days in a row for no less than 12 hours a day. So I became quite familiar with the facility. The seats were comfortable, the food was good, and those that ran the food services were fantastic in how kind they were to all of us. Overall a great time.

Great Arena

By Nolin S |

One of the best hockey arenas I've been to of 12 arenas. Great atmosphere. Well designed arena, and prices are about average for arenas

Worst Event Center

By David K |

Concert hasn’t started but this is logistically the worst event venue I have ever been to. Inadequate parking, therefore traffic was horrendous and we had to find street parking far away. They don’t tell you that purses aren’t allowed so you have to either wait in line and pay for their storage or run back to your car that is a mile away lat minute. Not impressed.

I’m sure Andrea Bocelli will be lovely though.

Great experience.

By susan a |

I had the pleasure of seeing Fleetwood Mac at the SAP center in November. The process of getting into the arena was efficient. The security people were helpful and friendly.

Sharks vs. Blues

By J S |

Nice arena and every seat had good views of the ice. We were on section 228 and saw everything. The game itself was a little snooze for two periods but on the 3rd the crowd came alive when sharks scored and it raised the atmosphere immediately! Pricing is hefty but I guess it's expected (drank one beer, 11.50$ yikes). Luckily you can bring your own water, snacks.
I suggest parking at nearby San Pedro square lot for 7dollars instead of pricey onsite parking.

Sharks vs. Wild.

By misanthropicdreamer |

Attended a Sharks game tonight. Good seats, good game. The arena is what you would expect from a large hockey arena. Parking is easy if you pay ahead. Do not bring large bags - they have rules about that. You walk through a metal detector and your bags are searched. A good thing in these crazy times. Safety first.
Seats are at a good angle for viewing however they are much too close together. I am a normal sized woman and my knees almost touched the seat in front of me. Lots of people bring babies and young kids. We had two young girls behind us who kicked the back of our seats all night. The dad didn’t seem to care. We had a man in front of us who was either on several substances or was just very rude sober. He shouted obscenities at the players the entire game. The music and people are loud most of the time until there are told to make more noise and then they shriek like they are being chased by lions. Leaving is a stampede of people shoving in opposite directions

Clean and Convenient

By neill978 |

We mostly visit SAP Center for Sharks games but have attended NBA basketball games as well as concerts here as well.

Great venue for NHL hockey - not a bad seat in the house, although we prefer the lower level. As for concerts, the acoustics never seem to be very good so we tend to avoid most musical events / concerts.

Parking is always a breeze - SJPD does a great job of routing traffic out of the venue after each event.

U2 concert

By revett2016 |

Venue was nice, parking organized, seats comfortable but sound was horrible! Sound bounced everywhere and couldn’t hear Bono....so it was disappointing to come to a show where you couldn’t hear.

Good venue in san jose

By svale87 |

Easy to get to this area by train, light rail, bus, bike rickshaw or car. Lots of parking options around. Also lots of food options in the neighborhood. There is a nice park adjacent if you are there in day time. For big events there is always a police presence and traffic control. There are multiple security lines. You'll save time if you leave any purse or bag at home. Sight lines overall are good.

25th Anniversary

By Gus R |

The SAP is celebrating their 25th anniversary this year. The SAP Center id home to the San Jose Sharks. It's one of the best places to see a hockey game. The atmosphere is electrifying. They have added a BMW lounge for the premium seat holders. The Alaska Club level is also a must do site. the staff is very helpful and the food is always improving.

LOVE Stockton Arena

By Angeline K |

I come here for the hockey games. Minor league but just as fun and cheaper too. Glass seats are only 35.00.

Easy access within the arena and anywhere you sit your guaranteed a great seat although I do have my preference to sections. You can’t go wrong with any event the arena puts on.

Fun night

By Gabriel Rivera |

Great arena to catch a game with family. Beautiful palm trees outside and inside is very modernized, clean bathroom and good arena food. We enjoyed our first Sharks game very much and will definitely be back soon

Fun to Watch the San Jose Sharks

By mini |

We went to the SAP Center to see the San Jose Sharks Ice team play. Its a good arena. They have special events on a regular basis as well. Its in the downtown area of San Jose.

Easy in-easy out

By flatfootfoodie |

Sharks fan or not, this is one of the easiest venues to get in and out of. A lot of parking options around the arena help a lot too. Always love coming here!

NHL game

By 150hotelnightsayear |

I have 2 parts of this review because the facility and the experience have different ratings. The experience may change if the event is different than an NHL game.

Facility=4 stars
- quick security screen to enter
- good view of the rink even from our nose-bleed seats
- stupid expensive concessions ($9-12 for beer and wine)

Experience =2 stars
- boring fan engagement and low energy:
- very little was done to get us involved
- I compare to other NHL games (red Wings or Hurricanes) where there is a constant energy.
-- music
-- fans riding the zambony
-- something fun during commercial breaks and between periods

Sharks Game!!

By Buhrdy |

SAP is a great venue. There’s lots of non venue parking that’s pretty affordable - we found a spot for $10 which is manageable. The jumbo tron in that building is great and really adds to the experience of the game. It’s a wonderful arena to watch a hockey game (Sharks vs. Kings) and it was my Christmas present to my mom this year. Go have fun!! But mostly GO KINGS GO!!!

Fun place for a Sharks game!

By kcdenman |

Plenty of clean bathrooms, wonderful ushers with lots of patience. It's a nice experience to hang out there. Just realize when the game is over, it's over. No lingering: stores close and security, reasonably, wants you gone

Attended Sharks Game

By K8509KUjamesw |

I have attended several NHL events at various arenas. THE SAP center is one of the best as well as one of the newest. Seats were cushioned as well as roomy. Fans were involved with the game but maintained their composure. Food selection was excellent. even had a Philly Cheesesteak and Water Ice while I was there. Seat pricing was very reasonable especially for San Jose, CA. Parking was nearby, somewhat expensive compared to ticket price. Next time UBER it is.

Easy to get to by train

By Nadine I |

Hopped on the train outside our hotel and it took us straight to SAP Centre. Easy check in and bag search. Lots of food choices. Typical prices for arenas. Team store and kiosk didn't have much selection. Large rest room facilities. Not a bad seat in the place.

Shark Tank

By lloydo101 |

Usually go with my adult children 10-12 times a year to see the Sharks hockey games and 1-2 times for other events. Now they have metal detectors up to scan you. Women don't bring a large purse or otherwise you have to go to separate lines. A small evening type purse will allow you to go through the middle section, which is usually much faster. Since my daughter had ankle surgery and was won knee scooter, she was able to call in advance ( have the 11 game package ) and get handicap seats. However, for a Xmas time event, non hockey game, I had to drop my son and daughter off early so they could get handicap seating on first come basis even though I called in advance to explain surgery occurred after tickets were bought. They were able to seat together, but was told it was a good thing the got there when the did, 90 minutes before the event stated. We were going to have a family dinner before the show. So for this reason, dealing with handicap seating, I'm only giving 3 stars. Maybe this is unfair as I don't have any other experience with other venues dealing with a handicap seating requirement after tickets are purchased months before an event. For the most part the staff inside the arena are nice and helpful.

Concert Perfect

By Richjendiaz |

Loved this venue every seat in the house looked great. I would definitely go to another concert again given the chance.

Excellent Venue with great loud fans

By Mark B |

I am Sharks fan from Toronto every time have gone to a game the atmostphere has been better than Toronto. The amount of bantering between Vegas fans and Shark fans was absolutely amazing. I also attended a Sharks game when they played the Kings that also was a great time. There are so many great fans in San Jose! Go Sharks!

Wonderful Stadium

By T3C-NINEtravels |

It's a good and well-kempt stadium, but it has poor seats. I love the environment, and it's often quite clean, but prices are too high.

Nothing like Club Level!

By shemmy2 |

Although the Sharks lost to the Islanders, hanging out at the Club Level was awesome, but pricey. But, we got the tickets for free and came with free parking so it was ok.

Great stadium.

By Millie B |

All good services, in stands and out, good views, lots of excitement. Saw the Sharks win over Buffalo. First time I've seen wine and snacks delivered to your seat. A clean, modern stadium, above average.

Nice convention center.

By FG3441 |

It is a huge convention center to accommodate a larger group of people. Easily accessible, good security and cops are present to guide road crossings. Few food stalls and not much options.

Good view lines

By Westersolar |

Attended a couple of sharks games from the upper level, really liked the view of the rink., even from the back row in front of the box seats.

Heartbroken 13 year old

By lauriesz06 |

I bought my 13 year old daughter VIP tickets to the July 21st Bruno Mars concert. My daughter has been watching Bruno's instagram account and noticed he was posting pictures of signs that fans made and brought to the concert. The tickets I purchased were very close to the stage so my daughter decided to make a sign in hope that a picture of it would be posted on Bruno's instagram account. I reviewed all the sign requirements on the SAP website to ensure her sign did not exceed the size requirements.
The website states: • Handheld signs are allowed at SAP Center as long as they are no larger than poster size (20”x30”). The FAQ DOES NOT state that certain events don't allow signs, or to check with them to make sure that specific event allows signs...nor did the tickets state no signs were allowed, nor did the VIP communication before the event state no signs. So, my daughter spent days working on this sign, making sure all the letters were perfectly spaced and that the colors were perfect. When we arrived at the venue they told her she couldn't bring her sign with her because signs were not allowed at this event..reallly? At minimum SAP needs to update their website to state that some events don't allow signs and to call ahead to see if signs are allowed. Currently the website states you can bring a sign as long as it's not larger than 20x30. My daughter was in tears...as close as we were to the stage, Bruno would have definitely have seen her sign. All the time and effort that went into the sign was a complete waste and she was heartbroken...Good job SAP.

Shark Tank has it all

By TravelPrincess69 |

Seats are comfortable. Nice layout. Tons of concessions: Asian, Mexican, French (jumbo hot dog, bathed in Dijon and encased in a baguette -- ooo la la!) Rita's gelato. Burgers. Salads. Popcorn. Dotting the concourse are numerous beer, wine & spirits vendors. Come early and dine -- the concessions get crazy busy between periods.

Tons of parking: $25.

Lots of big screen entertainment and great tunes during the "commercials".

All in all a classy place to see The Sharks.

Great Venue

By Wynn R |

Besides being the home to the San Jose Sharks Ice Hockey team, this stadium is also a great place for concerts first one I saw there was The Wall by Roger Waters. Easy access to the freeways

Good place for a concert

By TheMargeaux |

I saw Sir Elton John and the concert was fabulous. The venue is good, clean, and staff was nice. This is the second time I came to SAP Center for a concert. The first time was to see U2 in 2017.

Multi Faceted Venue

By mikejefe23 |

SAP is the home of the San Jose Sharks. Was here recently for a game. Good venue for hockey holding around 17,000 seats. Parking available onsite and at nearby lots. Good food options at San Pedro Square and other popular restaurants. At the arena, the Carvery provides good sized tri tip or turkey sandwiches.

I’ve been here for concerts and the sound can vary based on your seats, but generally enjoyable.

Overall it’s a good venue with good amenities.

Concert

By Diego L |

Good place for concerts, food and drinks a little pricey. But definitely worth it. Great view from any angle.

Great experience

By Andrew S |

Visited SAP centre to watch the San Jose Sharks. Travelled down from San Francisco on greyhound bus which was ideal with station just over road from centre. Whilst tickets weren't cheap for the ice hockey match it was a fantastic experience and fun day out. If you like your sport a definite must do

Very good experience at the Sharks game!

By ksv24 |

When we booked our seats initially, we were a bit apprehensive about being able to watch the game properly as we were fairly high in the stands. But, the layout is very good with steep steps that allows for a good viewing angle for everyone. The seats were comfortable and easy access through public transport is an additional bonus. Overall, a very good experience!

San Jose Sharks and Barracuda Ice Hockey

By PNut_Trip |

I'm sure others will tell you, for hockey, there isn't a bad seat in the place. There are several other events held at SAP, like concerts and Disney on Ice, but I've only been there for hockey. I gave it 4/5 just because the venue is getting old and it's fairly plain in its layout/presentation.

Having said that, if you're new to hockey or especially if you have young hockey fans, definitely spend $10 and go to a Barracuda game. The crowd is much smaller but they have more fan-fun things like "Chuck-A-Puck", cheap hot dogs and beer, and a whole section of the concourse dedicated as a Kid's Zone. Spend $10 for your kids to become "members" and they get lots of free stuff right away and promotions throughout the year.

For the big kids, when "The Tank" is rockin, the energy is contagious and you'll find yourself losing your voice by the end of the game...and if it's playoff time, make that by the end of the 1st period. Pricey? Yes, but if you like hockey, you'll love it live. See you there!

Rick Beelar saved the day!

By alexandermO8336YA |

Good morning. Please make sure that management receive this email. I attended the Marc Anthony concert on Sunday the 18th. The venue for some reason closed off the section we had purchased tickets. It seems that it was last minute and the solution to helping guest was not well organized. I had 5 tickets and the only option they had was to separate us. This of course was not the evening we expected. I then notice a gentleman with a nice black suite and thought he could help us resolve an issue nobody seem to know how to handle it. Rick Beelar your Supervisor of Ushers was outstanding. He understood what needed to be done and turned-out night around in 2 seconds by arranging us to be in the best seats in the house and together with my family. I see why he is a supervisor as he was nice and calm throughout the whole situation. Please make sure he is recognized. Alex Martinez- General Manager of Radisson Hotel Sunnyvale CA

Love seeing games here

By Josh A |

Love this place. My beloved sharks play here. Drop offs and pick ups are super easy here. Even better if you use Stockton street just on the other side of the railroad tracks. The crews seem to keep up real well with the cleaning. The bathrooms are much better than some other venues. The food options are pretty good although the pricing is pretty standard stadium high. The ushers are very good at helping you find your spot and there is not a bad seat in the house. I usually sit way up top because I'm cheep.

Sharks game

By achavez9 |

It is exciting to go watch any sporting event live. Venue is really cool but everything there it’s SO expensive! So make sure to save a lot of money before going to see a sharks game. They had this policy of no bags (so stupid) my girlfriend wasn’t allowed to bring her little purse!!!! So we had to walk back to our car to leave
Her purse inside the car ( yes! This is why people break into cars). So I don’t understand their policy about it, I get the big backpacks and tote bags, but a little purse? Give me a break!

Good enough, except for leaving after show, hard to find how to get back on Highway 880 to oakland

By Kathleen W |

Our first experience at Sap Center. Seeing Andrea Bocelli after waiting for 2/ and half years was worth it. We did have a hard time finding the place. luckily we were early. Parking was easy although it was $25.00. Then as we walked toward the door, some woman said, OH your purse is too big. it had to be a small size? so back to the car to find where I will put all my stuff. was not easy. Finally get inside and find our seats. They were up pretty high, Not easy walking. We dealt with, got a few photos, not real good but worth it. His voice SO AMAZING, "Time to say goodbye, OUTSTANDING!!!

A cut above other sports and entertainment arenas

By desrlmt |

My wife and I were traveling to the Bay Area and, as hockey fans who have seen NHL action from coast to coast, jumped on the opportunity to see the Sharks in a second-round game of the Stanley Cup Playoffs at SAP Center. And we're so glad we did, because not only did we see a great game, but had some 90 minutes pre-game to explore the arena. We weren't even yet in the arena when first impressed...by the presence of plenty of staff, all snappily attired and friendly, more staff than we'd seen at other NHL games. And once in, it was one of those friendly staff who informed us that our seats location--Alaska Club Level--gave us entrance to the Alaska Club, a subterranean circuit of shops and food, food, food of the greatest variety we've ever seen at a single stadium or arena. Everything's priced high, of course, but no more so than other big city facilities. As to the arena itself, the seating seemed sized a little more comfortably than most other arenas, and we liked the pitch of the rows, such that we could still see when fans in front of us stood. As for the bane of sound levels, SAP was as deafening as other places, which my wife and I address with earplugs--we still hear every sound assaulting us. We found only one shortcoming in our evening's experience: horrible traffic management after the game. We sat in nearly literal gridlock for 40 minutes, creeping at a rate of about an inch per minute. But what the heck, we'd so much enjoyed our time at SAP that the traffic couldn't dull our enjoyment.

Bon jovi and sharks game

By seaimp |

Awesome venue to see the Jovi! Great views all round then quick turnaround for ice hockey the next night. Apparently their record is a 45min turnaround from basketball to ice hockey.

Nice Arena

By R A |

We were there to attend Federer's fund raising match for Africa. We were happy to find a parking space, stand in line and get in because we got there early, but felt sorry for people who waited in line for an hour to go through security and get in, As usual thy won't let you bring any food in, because they want you to buy their junk food which was not good for my diet requirements (medical). I still gave four stars because we have this place in our city and able to attend events. The screen, the atmosphere and the seats were fine

GREAT CONCERT VENUE

By khall6275 |

I have seen many concerts at the SAP, as well as have been to a Shark's game! Great venue. I would recommed anyone for a concert there!

Easy in/easy out

By flatfootfoodie |

I love this venue. Very few events of this caliber can you attend without getting at least a little headache over the crowds and chaos. Not here though. This is one of the easiest hockey venues to get in and out of.

Sharks

By Tina |

Go early to get good parking and if you want to have a good dinner before you go to the Sharks game. Great place to take family and enjoy a hockey game.

Nice experience

By Steve E |

I've seen many Sharks games at "The Tank". Overall, it's been a really good experience. They've made their food selections a bit more diverse (but of course expensive). Great views of the ice from any seat. I also like that it's so close to public transit, both light rail and Caltrain. Very convenient.

SAP Center -- shortfalls

By mhsgas |

OK place to watch a concert, but there are some real shortcomings. First, if an emergency exit would ever be needed, quick access out is a problem. Railings preclude exit from one end.

Second, the food offerings leave a lot to be desired. We have been to multiple major concerts in the evenings. Most of the available restaurants in the center are closed. Only thing usually available is the fast-food stand. It is overpriced and not very good.

Great Hockey Experience

By pepperjack56 |

Easy to get to and good parking options made getting to the hockey game great and once inside it was even a better experience. Not a bad seat in the arena and staff was helpful. Recommend a hockey game a year and this is a great place to experience it.

Intimate, but bad concert sound on the sides

By Nicole D |

My friend and I saw Depeche Mode recently from excellent and expensive seats (Sec 128, Row 4). The arena is pretty small, therefore intimate, but the sounds was frankly awful, and I know it wasn't the guys. I've not seen a concert in the Tank before, and probably won't again, certainly not from that angle. I know every word to every one of their songs, and I couldn't hear probably half the words. Not complaining, just facts. Maybe it's completely different (ie good) in the middle of the floor, or elsewhere.

Rude Fans

By Cheryl |

I accidentally sat in the wrong section( 1 section over) Here comes this rude man and gets up to me and he says” You Don’t Belong Here.” Nice right? Not, “I think you might be in the wrong seat.“ So I think he pretty much speaks for fans there. If you’re a woman, minority, gay or anyone but a white male, you don’t belong there. 2stars because the Sharks players are fantastic; Very fun peppy, music, plus games and prizes during the breaks. Courteous staff but not enough to help everyone find their seats at game time.

Great staff!

By Tami L |

The center always had a great amount of staff to answer questions and were very helpful. The arena was kept clean and and well taken care of. Can't wait for convention next year!

Lovely venue for a concert

By Dawn H |

Visited for a concert and was pleased to see focus on customers - security was well organised and staff very helpful.

Seating is great as we were near front of stage and staff ensured people did not push in.

Friendly staff when leaving as they helped us get out quickly and easily as we had friends with limited mobility.

Outside stinks forbidden

By TiredWorldTraveler |

The new policy of forbidding outside beverages is another revenue scam for the owners. Fans used to be able to bring sealed plastic bottles of water, soda & non-alcoholic beverages.

Not anymore!

Bend over... welcome to SAP (Shafting All Patrons)....
$5 for a bottle of water? $9 for a hot dog?

Fortunately, they still allow you to bring in food from the outside.

As for the seats, the lower level is the best. Rows 1-10 are a little too low to see the action along the boards. 11-top of lower bowl are excellent seats.

Upper level luxury boxes high in the rafters, while comfortable, are a JOKE. All you see are little tiny specs skating around the rink. Forget about following the puck - it’s invisible.

Mid-level boxes are spartan and void of the amenities the upper level box holders enjoy (large screen tv’s, bar sinks, couches & seating area, refrigerators and counters for food). Think of the mid-level boxes as concrete holding cells at the county jail, only with swivel chairs.

Ticket holders in the first two rows of the lower level get access to the luxurious private VIP BMW/President’s Club. An excellent buffet of prime rib, gourmet foods, sushi, salads & desserts and an open bar, make these seats worth the extra money. Being able to take free beer, wine & food to your seats makes access even more attractive!

Clean Venue!

ACN International Convention

By katiekate1865 |

Staff were great overall despite a couple little snags with initial entrance. The concession stand workers were super pleasant!!

Great concert venue

By Josiah L |

Second time I’ve been to the venue. I parked in the event parking which was convenient and easy. The staff was very friendly and helped out when I needed them. The place is very clean and bathroom were clean as well. Plenty of options for drink and food with the lines moving pretty quickly. The seats were comfortable and not squished together. The concert was great and once over was easy to exit. Would definitely see more stuff here.

Lets go sharks

By toohuge |

Very nice venue. Seats are great 2nd row. Great food in the club as well as seat service. You can't ask for more than that.

Visited for Sharks game

By Sanjeev Manurkar |

Had a good time here. The place is huge and is very systematically arranged even for the first timers to find their seat. It's very well maintained, food variety is great. Fun place to be at.
Wish Sharks had won the game against oilers the night I was here.

Hockey, Basketball and More

By Sjsubabe |

SAP Arena, home of the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League, is more than just a hockey rink. The Shark Tank, as it is called by the locals, has hosted fabulous concerts, Dancing with the Stars, and more NCAA basketball playoff games than any other arena in the nation. The Tank features great food and drink, fabulous sight lines and oh so much more. So when in the Jose, do what the natives do, take in an event at the Shark Tank, and live like a local!

Saw Adele

By themermaidrach |

Saw Adele here. We were seated in the wrong seat at first, heavens knows why, it's their 1 and only job for ushers. Ushers not friendly and people at food counters not friendly. Came to the fit expo here last year February 2016 and had a much better experience.

Atleast we saw Adele and acoustics and visual affects were good. People running the concert however were sub par.

Sharks VS Kanucks

By Ash! |

Recently visited for the Sharks VS Kanucks game. Plenty of food options! Large line to get into the merchandise shop but the traffic control was great & moved quickly!

Big place

This place is great for sporting events and concerts! Parking is expensive and sometimes they will only accept cash. If you park behind the building there's a bar with an ATM and sometimes they will offer their parking lot to park your car at a lower rate. Food and drinks are a little more expensive inside, so we get our drinks at the bar outside in the back at Zapata's!! Otherwise cool venue, lots of parking, you can park outside and walk it. Avoid this place if you are not attending an event, because traffic is crazy and they will make you drive around in big circles from place to place.

Great Arena, Atmosphere and logistics, impressive.

By Lars Juul G |

I visitted SAP Center to watch, Sharks - Panthers, a great game in great surroundings. I was so fortunate to be invited to a sky box, which was amazing. Even though you are placed high in the stands, you can easily follow the game and also from the screens in the skybox, as well as from the balcony live. You get the atmosphere and the service was superb.

The atmosphere is great and the fascilities just work.

One of the important notes is the logistics and I have rarely seen an arena being emptied so quick and smooth.

All in all - impressive.

Sharks game

By hannysea |

Friendly and helpful people who always try to find the answer for your questions, tons of food options that were arguably pretty fairly priced for a sports center. Store's got plenty of gift options for all ages as well.

Went to a couple of sharks game at this center and no other place is as good as this one... just rocks in terms of seating and food availability...

BEST Place for SHARKS...

By XTRMJV |

The Shark Tank is a great place to see the San Jose Sharks Hockey NHL team and Concerts. Very close to Light Rain and Cal-Train, good restaurants.. The inside is very clean and no bad seats.. Sharks lost 2-5 but still great game!!

Excellent Venue

By NicoleHT |

Visited the SAP center with friends to watch an MMA fight. We live downtown and walk by the SAP center a few times a week. You can definitely tell when there is an event, the streets are packed. The staff here is really good at directing traffic (car AND pedestrian) and very helpful/friendly. The SAP center was also really clean. I was really impressed by the staff and how easy it is to find everything (bathrooms, seats, food, beer, etc). Great place for an event!

Don’t sit in the upper sections

By Adam A |

We have been going to Sharks games for many years, and love the many things about SAP stadium and the Sharks. However, I forgot how bad the stadium design is when we sat in the upper section (202) last Saturday. People are constantly complaining about the folks in front of them leaning forward. They say it blocks their view. I don’t have any problem seeing the game, but some folks seem to, and like complaining about it. I have never experienced this in the lower sections. So my advice is pay a few more bucks for a seat in the lower section and avoid the annoying people above who do a good job of spoiling the experience.

Go Sharks!

By patrick b |

For all business travelers visiting silicon valley; ask your contacts to get you a seat (or more) for one of the Sharks games, great entertainment and good atmosphere in the Shark Tank!

Enjoying armadillo willys bbq at the shark tank. Brisket sandwich as well as pulled pork with sides spicy peanut slaw and sweet willys BBQ beans. First time at this bbq. Many times shark fan.

Shark Tank great for the Hockey Games as well as Disney on Ice shows

This Arena is a great place for the Hockey Games as well as Concerts and many other types of events. Family friendly and close to Transit options

Good experience at Marvel Universe Live

By latindrummer2112 |

Like someone else had written, SAP Center is one of the cleanest and intimate arena sized venues. I've been to several events at SAP and accessibility, cleanliness and efficiency of the staff are never an issue. We had a pleasant enough experience and easily found parking, even when arriving 10 min before show time. The popcorn was affordable and tasty :) Great place to see a live event.

Feels personal even tho it's large

By Michele B |

Even up on the second tier I felt I was close enough to the performers.
So while it's a large arena, you do not feel removed.
The sound seems a bit rough and not "pure".
The main drawback is the huge line to get in, and long lines and no crowd management for food when trying to get to your seat.
Also I would prefer them to enforce " no standing" during a performance. I was behind a row of rude people who continued to stand so that I was not able to see.

Shark Tank Great Hockey Venue

By Stratus2013 |

Even if you're not a hockey fan the SAP center does it right for a fun night out. Recently watched Sharks in a sky box for a business meeting and had a blast eating and drinking the whole game and having private bathrooms in the suite made my night. Easy, but expensive parking and quick check entry to the suite was an added bonus as the game was nearly sold out. The selection of food and beverages also made this an A+ sporting venue. Two thumbs up!

Sharks Game

By L1201AAlindag |

Went to a Sharks game in January and had a great time. Our seats were on the 115 section and had a perfect view of the game. I have sat in different seats (higher levels) and you are able to see from all seats at the arena.

Always a great night

By LetsGo |

We have been to many events here. Every seat is good. They have a great variety of shows throughout the year. Service is always good and easy ticket buying.

Sharks are an experience to behold!

By Jim A |

This is a great sports venue. I have visited it regularly since the Sharks opened shop in the 90's. It is a great crowd. There is not a bad seat in the house. An enthralling sport and a great place to experience NHL hockey.

Enjoyed Hockey games

By shanec |

My friends and I went to the SAP Center to watch the Sharks vs. Blackhawks game and enjoyed the evening. The fans were great and the arena was clean and well kept but there are a lot of newer arenas in the league that are far better. SAP is now one of the older arenas and is getting left behind. We also went a couple of nights later to watch the AHL Barracudas vs. Condors. Still a great venue to watch Hockey though.

Hockey 2018

This is a great place to watch ice hockey. It is also a very nice place to see concerts and shows. There is really not a bad seat in the house. great place to enjoy a event.

Good Experience

By Jim H |

Visited recently as part of business trip to see the LA game. This is a great stadium, with excellent facilities. Getting in and out of the stadium was very easy, and the facilities are very good. Getting out of the area after the game (back to hotel) was not that efficient. Well worth a visit

A great ice hockey location

By halhuntley |

I've been here for San Jose Sharks hockey games and San Jose Barracuda hockey games. Even the "cheap seats" are good for viewing a game. With the Shark games the decibel level can sometimes reach 110 db. (I know, I measured it.) It is exciting. Take in a game live -- it is fun.

Great place to see a hockey game

By GreggMS |

I went to a Sharks hockey game with my family and enjoyed it very much. We were about 40 rows up from center ice and had a great view. Good food although very over-priced. Plenty of restrooms so there was no lost time waiting in lines. Parking was good and it only took us 15 minutes to exit the parking lot. Parking is expensive - $25.00.
Fans are knowledgeable and courteous. Plenty of stands to purchase Sharks jerseys, and other memorabilia. Can't wait to see another game.

All around great seats!

By m r |

No matter where you sit, you have a view. If your watching hockey- the best place for some great action is the first row behind the glass! Always entertaining! Great view- I prefer at least 7/8 rows up but I Jane also sat in the nosebleed area and had a great time too!

Concerts- great sound! If you bring lil ones- please sit up high and bring ear protection ( plugs or headset) because it gets loud!!

Parking is a lil tricky
The arena has paid parking which is accessible via two entrances . There are surround neighbors charging for parking and meters on the street

Vibe- lots of police presence so the vibe is under control. For the most part... Everyone is there to have a good time.

Pricing. It Depends on who or what is entertaining us . Sometimes I think they charge a lil too much.

Ice Hockey First-timer

By Tim H |

Went to see San Jose Sharks v LA. The crowd participation is the best part of the experience. Would go out of my way to do it again.

Cirque du Soliel at SAP

By Ola C |

This was the first ice show my husband and I saw at SAP. The venue is huge and the walk from the entrance to the seat entries can be far. The stadium seats are very steep so wear comfortable, low heel shoes and USE the handrails. As expected vendors are not cheap. We parked several blocks away to avoid higher parking fees.

The event overall was excellent and we could see the whole ice really well without obstructions. It was comfortably warm enough without a jacket. My only other warning is the audio system is LOUD. I'm a musician and carry earplugs everywhere. I recommend you consider bringing some.

U2 - Very well organised

By Paul H |

Well organised venue. Parking very close. Good eating options. Clean and safe. Excellent sound and lighting system.

Alaska Bar inside is a nightmare!

By Denise A |

We waited the entire length of the band break to get a drink at the Alaska bar. There were only 4 bartenders for a sold out concert! The space is a nice area to have a drink and relax but getting the drink is the real problem. Many people left and went back to their seats drinkless when the band came back on

Bon jovi concert

By Gilcro |

Great place to see any venue. View is good from anywhere. But if you can afford to get lower section seating,do it. Its worth the money. Now as for money. The parking jackup is ridiculous. It costs 25 bucks just to park. So outrageous

Sharks Hockey Game

By George G |

We stayed at the nearby Hilton (we’ve also stayed at the Four Points Sheraton). Both hotels are within walking distance to SAP Center, so you can walk to the games and avoid traffic and parking hassles. We usually pick seating towards the middle of the ice rink. Great seating area and good views. The venue offers good craft beers.

A fun night

By Nino T |

Attended the Mana concert, the venue was huge and the sound was amazing. Beautiful entryway with lots of room to move. The concession and restrooms were spaced out well to accommodate large crowds.

Great Concert Venue

By 2butterfly |

Lots of good seating at all different price levels. Concert had floor seating plus the stadium seating with good views of the venue.

Overall the place is outdated

By Neillibin |

I've been to many arena's around Canada and the USA and this one is ready for a rehab. Food was horrible.

Excellent

By Rosemary |

There are a lot of places to park around the arena however be careful that you don't accidentally Park and get a parking ticket. The reason I'm including this in the review is because it's easy to do so we just park in the sap parking lot up top. The sap Center is fully equipped with handicap seats if you need them. Also when I was there they had a lot of healthy options at the concession stands like great salads and grilled chicken. And all the other things too

Great place to have fun

By Filipe G |

I've been here twice. Both times were to watch Sharks playing and winning! Maybe that is why I think this place is awesome :)
The company I worked for before came here for a team event and we watched the game while having dinner on the higher levels where food was provided and we were able to talk before the game started. Great way to do team building. Some folks also went to the penalty boxes and met some hockey players.

The shark tank

By Peter H |

Conveniently located in downtown San Jose, it is the home of the Sharks. As an out of state fan, I was very excited to finally see the home of my favourite hockey team where the locals referred to it as the Shark tank. There's lots of parking nearby and also accessible by public transit.

Good concert, inefficient entrance process!

By Shirley S |

We attended a very popular Andrea Bocelli concert this past weekend. We walked over from our dinner location and arrived in the entrance area a full 30 minutes before the show. The line to enter was crazy long. We were barely able to get to our seats before the concert started and they apparently ran out of programs, which was annoying!

If you are going to a concert, get there very early!!!

Badly run. Rude, unhelpful staff.

By Jon |

Place is poorly run. Bad traffic management. No helpful signage. Unreasonable restriction on items you can bring which you are only told about at the door. The parking garage is only for pre-paid which there are no signs telling you until you are already in the garage and are left on your own to find your way out and get another garage. You can't bring a bag unless it's clear and the size of a sheet of paper which you can only buy, not on the premises, but a place "around the corner." This place doesn't give a damn about their customers!!!

Barracuda Games Review

By Caroline A |

This review a specifically regarding barracuda games at the SAP center.

Remember the sharks games 20 years ago? Remember how fun they were, how accessible they were and how close you felt to the players and the game?

That is exactly what it's like now! This is the goldilocks period for Barracuda games. Even if you didn't buy your tickets in advance, just show up, buy the cheapest ticket, and enjoy a great game of hockey.

This is one of the best and most affordable sports activities you can do with your kids right now in the bay area!

Really nice venue, good dining options, great seating

By Brix510 |

This arena is nicer (overall) than other similar arenas. Although its mostly and specifically used for Ice Hockey for the San Jose Sharks, it is also where a LOT of musicians and performers have large scale concerts and where I was able to watch the NCAA tournament in March 2017 (Arizona vs. Xavier). Really clean overall and great location close to downtown restaurants and bars!

By Peter F |

We enjoy watching the Sharks, and get tix every year when our other favorite NHL teams come to play. Saw some awesome concerts there too.

Great location for March Madness!

By azcat71 |

Good experience at the SAP Arena for March Madness West Regionals. Easy and organized entry....... lots of gates and friendly ushers. Good variety of food and drink concessions. Large and clean restrooms although for the first time ever, I had to stand in line to leave the men's room between games! Seat were comfortable and arena has very good sight lines. The gold standard is the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, but this one is not that far behind.

Very good to watch Hockey

By Gary P |

I'll try to be as unbiased as possible since I am a Southern Californian who frequently watches Ducks games at the Honda Center. :)
The area is actually pretty organized and well run. The security lines to enter the area are pretty long however the security folks get you through pretty quick. The lines to the bathrooms are pretty short and move quick and the food/beer lines are rather smallish as well. I had a great time (especially since the Ducks beat the Sharks) but I still enjoyed the venue. Clean, organized and people are pretty friendly. I would definitely go there again.

Conference Excellence

By Kristine B |

I attended a Joyce Meyer conference at the SAP centre over a Friday evening and all day Saturday. All necessary areas of the arena were easily accessible, stage setup was great (I don't know if that's the JMM team's doing or the venue team's; either way, well done), lighting was excellent and so was sound. The resource area was well set up, as well. These I know were all down to the event staff: the bathrooms were kept very clean and well stocked; the door and floor staff were attentive and helpful; and the concession was acceptable. I mean, it was mediocre coffee but it's an arena for goodness sake so high coffee expectations would be sheer folly. At least the muffins they had on sale, which was the only thing I ate from there, tasted nice and fresh. All in all, the venue did a great job of hosting the conference, from my attendee point of view!

Great venue

By hlarsick |

We came out to watch an NHL game. The arena is beautiful, spacious. It's easy to get around inside the arena. They offer some outstanding food and beverage services. It's easy to enter and exit the arena, but my favorite amenity is the concessions under the arena in the club area. There private restrooms, and personalized concessions offering everything from snacks to hand carved meats, excellent desserts and outstanding bar. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I'd payed a few $$$ more for the club seats, but it was money well spent. Can't wait to come back again

ZERO BAG POLICY - must carry everything loose.

By TiredWorldTraveler |

NEVER AGAIN.

After years of being a season ticket holder I AM DONE.

The new SAP/Sharks policy forbids ALL bags is complete BS. You have to bring in your own food or drink loose. Even clear bags & thin plastic shopping bags are forbidden.

I had to dump out my food and carry all of the items and bottles of water loose. All because a thin plastic shopping bag is not permitted inside.

SJ Sharks - you've gone too far this time. You just lost 2 season ticket holders who will not renew next season.

San Jose Sharks

By LisaBC86 |

As a Bruins fan I travel around to see them play in different venues - the SAP Center was beautiful! Parking was good and inexpensive. Food option good and not too badly priced.

Arena is superior to other similar arenas but there are some negatives.

By John M |

This arena is superior, overall, to other similar arenas but there are good and bad points.

SOME good points. 1. I've been here for concerts and sporting occasions and no matter what seat I have bought, it has always been a good view. 2. The venue is a good size to watch famous bands or musicians play and you can see them and listen - acoustics good. 3. Very clean and great location close to downtown restaurants and bars! 4. Plenty of concession stands around and, unlike other venues, restrooms rarely or never long lines. 5. Plenty of ushers who are quite helpful. 6. Good WiFi for those that use it. 7. Relatively easy to get there and security was quicker than most sporting venues. 8. The garage near Park SJ at Market/San Pedro is a good parking option, 10 minute's walk from the center, $7 fee for events.

SOME bad points. 1. Food and beverages are way overpriced. 2. Seats are a bit close ranged, with little room to move. 3. Corridors blocked during intermission. $. Their new security measures specify no outside food or drink allowed not even bottled water (which they charge $5 in a cup) or an energy bar star - all were binned.

But overall worth the money and the trip

Leafs at Sharks game

By Kim H |

We went on a three game road trip to watch the Toronto Maple Leafs on the West coast. First stop was San Jose. The SAP center is in a good location. Lots of hotels nearby by and they are close enough that you can walk to the game if you want to.

The arena itself is not that big so it's easy to get around.

Good place to watch an ice hockey game!

Convenient for all kinds of events.

By LakshmiRaghu |

It is right in the heart of San Jose and I have been here for disney on ice, SAP tennis matches when it happened, concerts, meets and it is always so convenient to get here. Parking can be expensive at the venue. So you can park in downtown parking strcutures and walk or also get by lightrail if you dont mind a bit of a walk.

Amazing venue to watch a concert or a hockey game

By Rosemary F |

Benn to the SAP Center many, many times and have never been disappointed whatsoever. Great place and seats for concerts or hockey games.

bmw lounge excellent

By Chris P |

I recently went to a concert here and purchased the "add on" BMW Lounge concert experience. Great call! The place is very classy and the food provided was excellent! I would do it again for sure!

Not the best venue for Concerts

By Steve P |

SAP Center has a modern feel but the sound system and acoustics are outdated and don't make it the greatest venuefor concerts compared to newer arenas.

I was also a little disappoints the lines for food venues completely obstructed foot traffic when walking around the arena.

Great place for entertainment

By Missgoolcharan |

The SAP Center is a great place for entertainment. From sporting events to music concerts, it's a great venue.

What a great arena!

By K6Max |

Have been to many arena's in the country. This is one of the best managed I have visited. Great people and attitudes make your visit very pleasant. Very clean and everything works! Seems like that should be a given, but for anyone who travels they know it is not. Cannot wait to return to this establishment. And kudos to the management team and staff!

Stars on Ice. Great show

By LINDA M |

I see Stars on Ice every year at this location. Sometimes I drive up from my home and sometimes I stay at the San Jose Fairmont, which is only a 20 minute walk to the area. Always seems well organized.

Nice Arena for Skating

By Richard R |

Spent 6 days at the SAP Center for the USFSA Championships. Not all concessions were open for the early day events, but enough for a drink. The best food item was the cheese steaks and my wife like the burrito bowel. Cost of food seemed high, but not worse than most other arenas.

Terrible organization

By elizabeth b |

The center itself was great, but there was a terrible lack of organization to get inside. We waited in one line for 3 hours (a ridiculous amount of time already), only to get to the front and find out it was the wrong one! We managed to get them to let us in, but some signs would've helped! We were not the only ones this happened to. I guess I would've expected more from such a prominent venue.

Concert

By blueskye209 |

It was our second time there, both for concerts and we do enjoy the concert experience there aside from the artists we go see. The reason because the seats are not TOO close together like most venues, and they are not too steep and at an angle like some venues. There were plenty of people there to direct us on both occasions, and the bathrooms were very clean and stocked.

Need more organization and signs, showing where to go for VIPs, more food booths near the floor seats, more leg room

By KWong55 |

This is my second time here at SAP center and I got a seat on the Floor this time but no food nearby only liquor. A bit unorganized and due to apparently new security measures, no outside food or drink allowed not even bottled water (which they charge $5 in a cup) or an energy bar or even a wrapped Peter's kettle corn for the star - all had to be thrown out!

In the VIP email that I received, they should say no outside food or drink allowed and to proceed to the VIP will call booth (skip regular will call) to pick up your ticket and VIP package at 6:30 pm because it is all rather confusing.

I didn't know the drill and went to the will call window and they sent me over to the main security entrance and then told me I could not bring in any food and would have to check it in or get it thrown away. Then when I showed them the email, they told me to go to the VIP booth on Santa Clara Street, around the next corner, near the Sharks shop and when I got there, there was a line because the VIP booth wasn't ready at 6:30 pm. Then when I went to my floor seat on Floor 2 right in front of the cat walk, the rows are so close together that you don't have much leg room and now there are barriers on both sides in the aisle so the floor leading to catwalk is blocked so you are caged in. They should at least give you more leg room since you have to stand to see the stage in the back as the catwalk is blocking your view and you pay more for closer seats.

Good venue, good views from upper deck

By Tres W |

One of the better sports venues I've visited, well-maintained and easy to get in and out of. Even the acoustics are better than many other venues I've visited.

I drive by this place everyday

By WIWIandBRAD |

It's a beautiful arena that has hosted some pretty big events, parking is nice and close unlike other event centers where you need to walk a dozen or more blocks to get there, lots of close street parking if you do want to save money and walk. The elevators right at the front door entrance makes entering the building really smooth and the flow of traffic moves quickly up and into the arena. Lots of hotels close by within walking distance and a Whole Foods market just opened up 1 block over, not too many restraunts within walking distance, Henry's High Life is one if you want a great steak, tons of places to eat in downtown San Jose.

Great place to catch a game!

By Pablo |

Got great seats for the Flyers vs Sharks hockey game in Dec, Took my daughter and she loved it too! If you are in town go see a game, you’ll be surprised at how much fun you’ll have!

Easy accessible by public transportation or car, concert experiences is a hit or miss

By PaulistanaCA |

I've been going to this Arena for many years for different events since it was still HP Pavilion. It has a great location close to Downtown San Jose, you can get there by Caltrain, Light rail, bus and just off ramp 87. Parking is expensive, but you can try to park around the city.
The experience varies a lot depending what type of event it is. It is a great arena to watch Sharks game, indoor football but the sound quality sometimes is not very good.
Watched Adele concert there last July and it was spectacular, but left a bit disappointed with a Elton John concert because the sound was too loud and acoustic was not very good. I don't know if it is the venue or the technical team that setup.
The food options are not very good and they are very very very expensive and they do not let you take anything inside with you. I would eat before going there and take a little snack inside your purse.
I felt very safe, bathrooms are clean and the staff was always friendly and helpful.
It's a venue that always have great performers coming, I keep an eye on their webpage. Unfortunately they use Ticketmaster to sell tickets and that's a big pain. I never bought tickets in the ticket office, but sometimes they sell last minute tickets for a great price - it happened during Adele concert that was sold out for months!

Expensive bottled water

By mikemarcos |

I recently saw an event at SAP and the seats were great since the event had a limited audience. I would have totally given 5 stars but the only knock to the whole place is the concession costs.

I had already eaten prior to going in but did not think of bringing in a water container. The event was fun and very energetic and we were jumping up and down and really breaking a sweat. At this point, there was a break and I asked my friends if they wanted some water. 3 said yes and get the big one. I lined up and asked for 4 bottled waters. $7.50 for a 1.5 liter bottle x 4 = $30. Damn that's a lot for water but other than that, great times.

Very positive experience, great views in the 100-level seats

By JJKFETP |

I attended the U.S. Figure Skating Championships here in January 2018. My seat changed depending on the event, but even up in row 20, I could see the action very well and not feel that high up. The arena seems clean, modern, and well-maintained. Good staff interactions.

Watched the Sharks

By Lauri C |

The arena is nice and there is not a bad seat in the house. The beer selection is good and mixed drinks and wine is available. The food selection is limited so eat before the ever

Blackhawks road trip

By Avrin2 |

A very nice arena to watch a hockey game. Clean, modern, friendly staff, what more can you ask for ? I loved the Shark head entrance for the players, and the Jaws theme and chomping gesture for the powerplay never gets old
