Great morning

By KrisParis2011 |

Had a great time visiting on Saturday morning. Wonderful produce and great prepared foods. Also enjoyed the artists that were set up on the other side of the tracks-beautiful work

Vibrant and diverse market

By donutstodd |

This is a must -do on your trip to Santa Fe if you’re in town on a saturday. There is usually live music as well, weather permitting. Incredible foods, artisan crafts, etc.

Beautiful produce and wonderful aromas

By Ken S |

Never seen such beautiful, or expensive, produc. One vender was raoasting peppers at his booyh, the smell was enticing and the taste was sensational. Many different types of homemade bread of all flavors imaginable. Indians selling bindles of sage for decoration=the aroma was intoxicating. This is a must do on SAt. and Tues mornings

Best Farmers Market anywhere!

By TravelLink1 |

I was reluctant to go but so glad I did. The meat and produce selection is outstanding. The food courts are amazing. The venue is great. Today they are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the market. We ate sausage, egg and potato burritos in whole wheat tortillas with cheese and poblano chilies. They were outstanding. We then shared a cider cinnamon donut and a slice of raspberry walnut sweet bread. It was so good. We washed it down with cherry and peach lemonade. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We had a great time!

Best market I've seen outside of Seattle

By GoBlueinColorado |

There's a reason I pretty much bypass all of the local (high-priced) farmer's markets in the Roaring Fork Valley - the fact that really excellent markets like this DO STILL EXIST! Incredible produce and baked goods and reasonably priced. We came prepared with our largest cooler and loaded up.

TIP: Get there when it opens and take it all in when it's cool and uncrowded.

A little disappointing

By Trudi B |

We went on a Tuesday. We went through it in about 30 minutes. Someone had told us you could spend hours here. I frankly wouldn't know how. Maybe it is better on Saturdays with more vendors. If this was it then I have seen much bigger and better farmers markets elsewhere.

Wonderful to see what is grown and produced in the high desert!

By AptosAmy |

Wonderful to see what is grown and produced in the high desert! Good music. In late summer and fall the chili harvest is underway. You can also buy grass-fed beef raised on S. Co. ranches. The organic produce is more expensive than in coastal California. Saturday and Tuesday mornings...

Cool Place for SW Slices

By Gerry |

A nice small market with all sorts of things southwest, all types of Chile powders, baked goods, jerky, and other items of the SW.

Definitely worth a visit

By Jake |

Great selection of veggies and fruit. The cherries and apricots were in season and were spectacular. Make sure you pick up some red Chile honey or ground chili rub!

Not a large number of vendors, but the vibe is very friendly.

Only open Tuesdays and Saturdays. Really glad we started our santa fe experience there

a treat for the senses!

By 912mytravels |

Accidentally ended up there and loved the ambiance, the colors, smells, the artists and flower vendors - a must see if you happen to be in Santa Fe and enjoy meeting the locals - we had such fun

Immensely enjoyed Santa Fe Farmer's Market.

By sanlee1007 |

The farmers market has many wonderful fresh fruits and veggies and plants and foods to eat while walking around. There were heirloom vegetables. Prices are high but seems to be a good quality with large assortments of unusual foods. Definitely worth a visit

Not worth your time

By FRANCIS P |

We visited the area with our adult children from Dubai and this was recommended. Nothing really there on the Thursday we visited. An REI store and a couple of brew pubs. Unless the 4 of us missed something, don't waste your time.

Overwhelmingly fantastic

By tumbleweed_travels |

This was a great market! Everything from fresh sprouts, local cheese, fresh kimchi, and worms for your garden to cherries, plants for landscaping and dried herbs and honey could be found. We loved the garlic and green chile bread that was obviously very freshly baked. Tons of veggies and greens abound here. It has both indoor and outdoor spaces for shopping. I have a few tips: take plenty of your own shopping bags, allow yourself at least 2 hours, plan to eat breakfast or lunch while shopping, take plenty of cash in small bills and change for the ticket machine to buy your parking ticket. ( the machine malfunctioned and wouldn't take cc's the day we were there- We found the parking lot across the street to be the closest and most convenient. ). There is an ATM at the market, but it had a line about 8 people deep.

So much amazing stuff

By fxman83 |

I wished we lived there! There were so many beautiful food items and such friendly people. The space was clean and well laid out. Everyone was approachable and really was passionate about their product. We bought some Chili powder and luckily it made it home!

Beautiful fresh Organic Produce

By LuckyFoodie888 |

lots of parking available for this Saturday AM weekly market. We are tourists here so unable to take any veggies or jars back home on the flight.Clean bathrooms in the market. Very friendly vendors. Nice wide aisles outside. I use a walker and accessibility is important to me. I highly recommend planning either a breakfast burrito or coming hungry for an early lunch. In one corner there is a food vendor. There were about 20 folks lined up for food. It must be good! The menu was affordable. That vendor also sells lovely fresh baked goods. The beautiful freshly picked greens, beets, carrots, chard etc made me wish that I was cooking on this vacation! I bought a few hydroponically grown tomatoes. We will eat those before we fly home in a week.

A nice walk-around place

By trippygal23 |

You probably won't need more than an hour or so to see it all, especially if you're staying in a hotel and/or not able to take any of the vegetables on travel with you. There were a lot of wonderful things to see, eat, buy (including non-edible things like sachets and soaps). There was also a great family-style finger-pickin' band to keep time to. Lots of people were lined up for a breakfast booth inside the building, so that must have been a major draw, though I did not partake. The amount of booths, was not as extensive as I thought it might be, so I was ready to head out of there after about an hour. Very central location, so it makes for and easy stop.

Small but good

By Douglas M |

Lots and lots of organic products. Was late fall when we visited so expect late fall crops. Chile vendor was custom roasting chiles. One farmer was selling "micro greens" that were so fresh he cut them from their sprouting medium on demand. Great mixture, as well as custom crafted.

Cute fresh market in Santa Fe!

By LaurenzaNM |

A friend and I stopped in on a Tuesday on our way through town. Although we arrived an hour before closing, there was still plenty of produce available. There were roasted chiles, fresh bread and plenty of produce. The market is about a block long, and inside are other shops including a coffee shop, tea shop and gift shops. It didn't look like many stalls had prices listed, so be sure to ask about costs. We even bought more than we planned because everything looked so fresh and so yummy!

Cool Tuesday Morning treck

By JCFuN1017 |

My girlfriend loves farmers markets, so when we saw this one was open Tuesday we had to go. Located on the historic Santa Fe rail station this is a cool early morning activity. Tons of peppers, sage, and charm. Definitely better than expected.

Must Do Saturday

By Elfma |

Everything a wonderful market should be. Walking distance to town, lots of friendly local folks, live music, crafts, hot and cold foods and snacks and a rainbow of beautiful produce. Rain or shine, booths are inside and out. Cash and credit cards accepted. Come and support the local farmers. Kid-friendly, ADA access, strollers ok and dogs welcome.
The market is located next to the railway arts district; maybe combine the two for a great day's adventure.

Overwhelmingly fantastic

By tumbleweed_travels |

This was a great market! Everything from fresh sprouts, local cheese, fresh kimchi, and local dried pozole to knitted wearables, local seeds and Navajo tea! We loved the garlic and green chile bread that was obviously very freshly baked. Tons of veggies and greens abound here. It has both indoor and outdoor spaces for shopping in summer.
Being that we visited in winter, we were pleasantly surprised by how many vendors were in the indoor space.
I have a few tips: take plenty of your own shopping bags, allow yourself at least 2 hours, plan to eat breakfast or lunch while shopping,
GO EARLY( it gets really crowded around 10 am) and take plenty of cash in small bills and change for the ticket machine to buy your parking ticket. ( the machine malfunctioned and wouldn't take cc's the day we were there- We found the parking lot across the street to be the closest and most convenient ). There is an ATM at the market, but it had a line about 8 people deep.
We lived in San Luis Obispo, CA where they have the largest farmers market in North America, but THIS ONE in Santa Fe is truly fantastic!

Fun spot!

By TxBrian |

Do not pass go, go directly to the Farmers Market! Lots of great things to see and buy and eat and taste and see. Usually pretty crowded though and they close at noon or shortly thereafter. Fresh vegetables, honey, cheese, seedlings, flowers, fruit, etc etc. Fun time.

Santa Fe, NM--Railyard Tour

By CLBHHouston_TX |

On 8/26/14 my sister and I visited the Santa Fe,NM Railyard. We shopped, ate and had a good time visiting the shops and the Farmers Market. The produce was great and in abundance.
The venders were very friendly and informative about their products. There were multiple places to eat.

Staff at The Santa Fe Visitor Center at the Depot were very helpful.

We plan to get the Buffet Brunch train on our visit next year This is operated by the Santa Fe Southern Railway.

Went on Tuesday

By TropicsTraveler1000 |

Nice market with a variety of vegetables, food, crafts and art. The bread was the best I have ever had. Would go back for the bread. Had cute sage and chili crafts that I saw no where else in
Santa Fe. Wish I had bought them at the market. Very inexpensive, $5-20. Vendors were nice.
Coffee, pastry and sandwich shop on the premises inside the building. Market is twice a week.
For me a must see.

Favorite Sat. morning place. So much beautiful fresh food!

By Gypsiescollect |

A great place to mingle with the locals, buy great fresh vegetables, check out honey, baked goods, have coffee and shop for a wide selection of arts, crafts, collectibles. This was my favorite shopping day!

Lots of sights

By Rdog99 |

if you are visiting, you probably won't be in the market for fresh vegetables or other food items. But there is a lot to see and smell. If you are a people watcher, this is a cant miss place to be. There was an artist show on the south end where there were a lot of vendors selling jewlery, art and other artistic treats. A street dance troupe came through that was very enjoyable to watch. They danced through the artist venue, across the street and through the farmers market. If there is something going on, dont miss it. It wont be a wasted Saturday morning. The farmers market is only open until noon or 1pm. If you drive in, enter on the NOrth side via Manhattan. There is an underground parking garage on the North side of REI. The Paseo de Paralta entrance is too congested with foot traffic.

Awesome

By Steven G |

If you haven't scheduled time to visit the farmer's market in Santa Fe you should. The fruits and vegetables are of high quality - we bought tomatoes to eat fresh for lunch as well as coffee and pastries for the road.

Quality merchandise and an easy walk

By robertbobcline |

An easy walk from hotels near the Plaza - a mile or so but flat - with an excellent market for regional produce. Our visit was in March so market was small, apparently much larger in the spring, summer and fall. Despite that it had a good local feel and those selling frozen green chilies, honey, local meats and other items were open and pleasant. Lots of art, both in booths and in very nice galleries nearby.

Tuesday Morning To-do

By tracicanterbury |

Loved the Santa Fe Farmers Market. Lots of locally grown produce (peppers, greens, fruits), as well as locally made merchandise. Picked up some good gluten free apricot bread and a fabulous hand lotion from local beeswax.

A must do if a foodie or a craft connoisseur

By savvysolo |

We did not allow enough time. We did, however, get there early which helped us zip though. We would have liked to do tastings and explore the crafts had time allowed. The wools were a big surprise, and artisans and craft merchants were far superior on the Saturday to those exhibiting on the Sunday. Note that the Sunday crafts market is disappointing and does not need much time. The Saturday baking is delicious and the permanent coffee shop in the facility has a better coffee than other coffee establishments in Santa Fe.

One of Best Markets in the U.S.

By Margaret W |

Fun,fun, fun! Crowded on Saturday mornings, but that's the best time to go. Great people-watching, amazing selection of local produce, occasional live music on sidewalks. Don't miss Dream Catcher goat cheese. Yum! And take home some of Mrs. Trujillo's dried chile mixes. They make wonderful gifts. In August and September, savor the aroma of roasting green chiles. Grab a pack of those, too. Yum!

Meh, will not go back

By CavemanHHH |

Albuquerque Farmers market was twice as big. My son came in from Dallas saying he saw it was one of the largest in NM, far from it.
It was nice, clean, lots of preppie/hipster farmers.
Even some arts & crafts. Idea for the Santa Fe crowd.
Maybe because it was a Sunday, but we were not impressed. You will have to be the judge.
If you live in Albuquerque, Bernalillo, or Rio Rancho don’t make the drive.

Awesome food!

By Jesse H |

We walked down to the market from our Airbnb house. We had an amazing sausage breakfast burrito which I could eat every day. We bought a pesto, artichoke and sundries tomato quiche....amazing! There was some delicious looking fruit flatbreads so we had to sample one of those as well! We would have bought more but we didn’t have room in our luggage! Definitely worth visiting!

Roasting chile peppers!

By CPMO2013 |

Farmer's markets are the epicenter of any community and this one was fabulous. From the smell of roasting chile's to hand made crafts this market has it all.

WOW! Must be at least 100 sellers!

By Donald H |

This is the place to meet locals and see a ton of produce! You can also get breakfast and /or lunch at one of the stalls!

Nice farmers market

By Kay L |

We came on a Tuesday just as many booths were shutting down at 1pm. Still a large variety of vegetables and worth the trip. Parking was close by but, again, crowd was light.

Would love to visit on the weekend even if you have to fight a crowd. Something you need to do but make the Plaza first on your list!

WONDERFUL MARKET!

By stacilee67 |

I Loved this Market so much! There was lots of fresh local vegetables, fresh homemade bread, cheese, yogurt, artesian breads, pies, pastry and tamales! I found some amazing chili powders from local people one of which seeds have been passed down over a hundred years. Knowledgeable and very friendly venders selling their fresh products. We loved the cheese we bought. Such a great day to walk around for a couple hours and trying some food and shopping. I live in FL and god I wish we had a market like this one!

Great selection, easy access

By dancinggoats |

As with all farmer's markets, selection is seasonal. But there are amazing artisans, and the seasonal food selection is huge. We got some beautiful fresh mushrooms and sugar snap peas--the dinner at the camp that night was perfectly complimented by those mushrooms. The market not only has the freshest of produce but beautiful jewelry and arts. If you have a day on your journey, please stop and smell the fantastic aromas and enjoy the sights.

They actually sell produce

By victorian5 |

This market is partially indoor/outdoors. Good thing as today there was even a little snow.
They actually sold produce here, loads of different lettuces. Also tomatoes, leek, mushrooms, various breads.
You may want to come early as by 11 it is quite busy and line ups at some stalls are long.

Unique Surprise

By stephen b |

This is an awesome farmers market with useable local items. From decorations to raw foods to prepared and beyond. If I lived nearby I’d attend weekly. Also, not a bunch of junk.

Just okay on a Tuesday for us.

By Connie C |

There weren’t as many vendors as expected. We did get some fresh goat cheese, a loaf of bread and local honey. While dogs are welcome outside they are not welcomed inside, which was a disappointment. We did have our senior dog in a stroller so went through the inside anyway.

Fun and interesting.

By katyflower |

We had such a fun time visiting the market. There were venders with fruit, veggies, breads, donuts, pastries, wreaths, cheese, artwork, pillows, jewelry, red worms for composting and all sorts of things! Take your own shopping bags. They sell them there but they are high $12-25 each. Crazy. Wish I had known.

Hot

By Swentzell01 |

Walked and walked. Beautiful veggie and dried flowers. Everyone was extremely friendly. A great place to get soaps and organic goods. Baskets galore, but no great deals

This is a great place on a Saturday morning

By craig c |

We had ridden the Rail Runner up from ABQ for the day and stepped off the train pretty much right in to the Farmers Market. We wondered up and down the market with tents on both sides stopping to look at sausages, peppers, flowers and garlic. The sights and smells where fantastic, especially the sausages for sale. I would have eaten those all day if possible. We bought a couple of small items to bring back to Ohio with us. Don't forget to wander through the building too. Just don't take a picture of the food that is decorated with some flowers at the north east corner of the building, the owner didn't like that my girlfriend did that.

No parking for visitors downtown

By Michael M |

Unable to find parking for some time. Parking meters do not work correctly. Wasted a lot of time trying to pay. No success. Other visitors were experiencing similar problems. Sant Fe overall has a serious problem of not providing enough parking for those who wish to visit the attractions. This is a terrible and disappointing situation. We decided to move on and forget Sante Fe.

Farmers market

By Archerandchewy |

We visited the farmers market on a rainy tuesday morning. There weren't many vendors present either indoors or outdoors. Produce looked very fresh but was limited in variety.
Check out the bread vendor. Good variety of fresh baked sourdough breads.
Note: market only open tuesday and saturday. Parking is off street and limited.

A Must See in Santa Fe

By Shannon A |

Such an experience for the senses. The aroma of fresh spices and chilies roasting is heavenly! Lots of unique gifts and foods to try. The market is only open on Saturdays and many of the local restaurant stock up at the market. I would recommend getting there early because it gets crowded around 10 a.m. It's a short walk from just about anywhere in the heart of Santa Fe. If you find something you like that you can't take back on the plane, most hotels and B&Bs can ship it back for you. No pets are allowed. Highly recommended!

Good for a lazy Saturday

By MeenMenon |

The friendly Santa Fe shuttle driver told us about the Farmers Market which is held every Saturday near the railway station. It was worth the visit. Lots of local produce, food, drinks and local color and flavour. I'm a big fan of Farmers Markets because this is a great way to sample fresh produce and for Farmers to make a decent amount of money. Most of us don't realise how much effort goes into growing food and the poor farmer invariably gets a pittance for his efforts.
This is mainly visited by the locals but it is a good place to spend a few hours

Carrots and Turnips and Lettuce!

By JoyfulExcursionist |

There wasn't a large variety of fresh produce the day my wife and I visited but it's really not the season yet. It'd probably have a better selection later in the summer. Nice stroll and friendly vendors. Street parking.

Fun & Ineresting

By Alec D |

The farmers market in Santa Fe is always a highlight for me when I visit. One of my favorite things to purchase is local raw honey. Lots of fresh things to choose from.

Abundance

By Viva4 |

This has got to be one of the best farmer's markets in the states. There is an abundance of fresh produce, of very high quality. Much of it is organic. Some a bit spendy. It meets on Tuesdays and Saturdays, but the Saturday one is the most popular and has the most venders. You can get just about everything you need here during the summer season. I saw and sampled bread, honey, herbs, artisanal cheeses, fruit, veggies galore, meats, eggs, and more. There is a snack/coffee bar, clean bathrooms, and a parking garage nearby. Word has it the best salad greens come from Mr G's Organic and judging by the line at their booth, it seems a lot of Santa Fe agrees. In fall, the smell of roasting chili's is intoxicating.

Might be good if you have a way to keep fresh produce

By Jennifer H |

This was mostly inside, presumably because it was cold. There was a lot of beautiful fresh produce. We were leaving and didn’t have a use for fresh vegetables or eggs so we didn’t buy any. The prices I did see were very high. We got a few donuts from a vendor and they were very good and reasonably priced.

One of the very best Farmer's Markets

By X-NYr |

The Saturday market is fantastic. Lots of great fresh veggies, greens, and fruit and of course the amazing roasted peppers. It's crowded but everyone is friendly and helpful. The cooked food is also great, especially Mi Young's kimchi pancakes; unique and fantastic. They have clothing and jewelry and a craft market, great bread, ice cream, coffee, wine, etc., etc. Go hungry and eat your way through. Definitely the best way to start your Saturday in Santa Fe.

Key Part of Santa Fe Trip

By TheGrinchesDogMaxx |

We happened on this market and were delightfully surprised. Not overly touristy, as one might have suspected. Some of the permanent stores there are just tourist traps, but the outside tent stalls and main hall food offerings are outstanding. We had lunch in the main hall then bought veggies and fruits at the stalls and thoroughly enjoyed about three hours there. Great vibe.

Don’t miss this!

By Beth S |

This farmers market is packed with beautiful fruits & veggies, special foods & crafts. Make sure you see the whole market. We got there about 11:30, a little late but had no trouble parking & the market wasn’t too crowded

A Fun Activity on Saturday Morning

By NXTTRP |

Our group of 3 couples enjoyed our trip to the Santa Fe Farmers Market on a Saturday in June. We like to cook as a group and used the available produce at the market to help determine our menu.

We also had fun! We enjoyed the music, the people watching and the photo ops of the shapes, colors and landscape of the market.

We did not chose to eat at the market, past experience reminded us that the lines would be long. Likewise past experience told us that we would have to pay for parking, after we finally found a place to park.

We enjoy Farmer’s Markets, and we will return.

Lots of local

By 740van |

Fun! Lots of local food, honey, home made breads, plants, flowers, good food all in a great location, near the Railrunner.

One of the best regional farmer's markets we have been to.

By grnthumb2018 |

Lots of very high quality produce, often organic along with prepared items like the fabulous raspberry chili jam we brought home. All in a safe walk-able interesting area.

Sante Fe, NM Farmers Market

By Amiee G |

Off season so probably not as busy and full of fresh produce, but lots of fun stuff to look at, the vendors were all really lovely people. I would definitely recommend a visit!

Unique market

By Jenna_Loca |

Bustling market with a variety of produce, spices, bakery items, breakfast foods, and bath products. We had lots of fun sampling different things. I also had the most spectacular blue corn lavender donut. Outside the railyard had tents with art and jewelry for sale. Nearby is a performance center and Site that has free art exhibitions. It was a beautiful winter morning with so much to see and do.

So well done!

By Robert S |

This is the way to do a farmers market. Give the good space indoors and out with lots of rooms for the shoppers. Produce everywhere and fresh chili peppers being roasted while you wait. And, so many good things to eat!
The city has done a great job on the location and building. It is very well done, and every once in a while the passenger train to Albuquerque passes through.
We loved the bean sprout booth - a great selection.
Go - you will have fun. Saturday and Tuesday.

Support small farmers

By Tish F |

What a
Lovely way to spend a
Saturday morning visiting local farmers and small eateries. Loved every min of the time we spent there. Certainly a must do for visitors and locals alike.

Morning must

By Valerie |

A great way to spend your morning in Santa Fe. We were visiting from Tx and arrived to the Market on Saturday morning. The Market is broken up into 2 areas: food/produce and art/textiles. We had a great time exploring both areas and the taste of NM. Lots of local vendors offering things like farm fresh beef or eggs, veggies, etc. We brought home some dried NM Chimayo Chile - yum! The artist section is also very nice and if Southwest style art is your thing, then this place is a must. We spent about 1.5 hrs here and had a great time.

Typical Saturday Scene

By Bob J |

I've been told this is one of the largest Farmers Markets in the US. I was last here 12 years ago and it was larger back then. It's still a great market with loads of local produce. Crowds line up for the fresh breads, but one we tried was just okay. It's a scene on Saturdays with some people there just wanting to be seen. If you come after 10 am, your only parking option is the garage.

Tuesday morning visit

By Todd V |

We had heard the Santa Fe Farmers Market is a good place to visit. On Tuesday it is a good place to visit, just few vendors and a smaller crowd. The weather was great. I'm guessing there are more vendors on Saturday and more of a crowd.

Come hungry bring tote bags

By Steve D |

We ate breakfast elsewhere beforehand and regretted the missed opportunity to enjoy fresh baked goods while shopping for some of the best produce I've seen. We've been to a lot of farmers markets around Texas and this was way better than the other markets we've been to. Lots of organic choices and the most beautiful tomatoes you've ever seen

A lovely atmosphere

By Judy T |

We were lucky enough to be here on a Saturday so visited the market. It was quite delightful.
Farmers markets are popular in Australia for more health conscious people & this is the type of clientele I saw here too.
Not a huge market but worth a look.

Wide Variety of Produce, Meats, and Misc. BEST in Southwest

By Rainbo1 |

This Farmers Market is the best in the Southwest and perhaps the entire West. We were blown away with the offerings of heritage vegetables. As tourists we were prevented from buying some of the vegetables because we had no way of keeping or cooking them. Never the less, we did buy a pound of Jimmy Nardello Italian Frying Peppers to take home to Tucson.

Parking is a little expensive, but it is definitely someplace to go to on an early Saturday morning. There were food stands that folks were cuing up to, but it was too early for us to be thinking about another meal. Ahh, but the smells were delightful.

Fresh Vegetables, Delicious Baked Goods, Really Crowded

By SXMChick |

We visited the Farmers' Market, which was in walking distance from our hotel. The vegetables were very fresh and I wished that I could take some home with me, there was a wonderful selection of baked goods, some dairy products, vegan and gluten-free products, and a few samples along the way.

Parking was at a premium, which made me very glad that we walked. All literature stated that there was a parking fee of $1; however, the sign that day said $5 and I did hear the parking attendant making deals with people for $3.

On that particular day, there was an art exhibit across the street, but not many vendors were there. I had been looking for local art work (paintings/landscapes), but that day it was mostly jewelry and photography.

This was a true farmers market. I am used to them having not just fruits, vegetables, dairy, etc. but also everything else that you can think of. This was not that place. However, it was a place that if I lived in Santa Fe, I would be there every day that it was open.

A real farmers market!

By Wanderer0213 |

Pretty amazing find, so much to choose from and so fresh! No brainer stop if you want some fresh produce! Parking is tough, but park out a little and it’s easy. Wonderful stop!

Worth a stop by when in Santa Fe

By ANNIE S |

This large market is mainly indoors and mainly devoted to food. There are a few other craft items, too. I found some good dark bread and raspberry ginger jam to take home. There is also food to eat right there and restrooms. I think parking is not so easy. We walked from the Guadalupe Inn where we were staying. It is in the Railyard District where there are also some galleries and antique shops. Also some restaurants.

Small in the winter...

By mom98wmu |

After reading reviews, I was really excited to visit during our visit in January. I was a bit disappointed that only one room of vendors was open and most of them sold fresh veggies which didn't work for a tourist passing through.

I would definitely return during the summer months when they apparently overflow the area with vendors.

There is a fee for parking.

Great Local Flavors

By jocko68wny |

My wife and I visited the SF Farmers market for the first time since moving to Santa Fe. We found the offerings to be plentiful for an early March day. Great cheeses, breads, parties, meats etc. We will return soon.

The Farmers Market is a must when visiting Santa Fe

By mslindylou |

The selection of produce was pretty exceptional for early March. There were so many things to choose from. Lettuce, potatoes, eggs, meat, bread, chilis....the list could go on and on. All fresh, all organic. Can't wait to go back.

Fresh roasted chiles!

By pasherry |

Went to the Saturday market, hours 7a-1pm. Parking was a bit challenging, but we finally found a spot within walking distance. The market is indoors and outdoors with lots of vendors selling vegetables, organic meats, apples, pears, bread, pastries, jam, honey, roasted chilies and chili powder. So many choices! You can grab a bite to eat and even go to the brewery located on the premises. There were vendors selling jewelry, soaps, art, scarves and other wares. Street musicians singing in the background. There are restrooms on the premises that were clean. No dogs are allowed unfortunately. This is a great market, apparently open on Tuesdays as well.

Great products and fair price

By Tebet |

If you are there you should go and check the craftwork, fresh fruit and vegetables, clothing and many types of local food

Freshness

By Jared M |

Went to Sant Fe just for the Farmers Market. Wow was amazing! The bread, meat, eggs, honey, poultry, vegetables, and fresh food was amazing. I will come back again a little further into the summer to get the whole array of fresh vegetables. Cant wait to eat my eggs, bison, and fresh potato sesame bread and mix green and garlic arugula flat breads!

So fun and interesting

By keahilana |

The main bldg and surrounding area was full of goodies, fruits and veges, pastries, flowers and plants. There was another bldg nearby across the train tracks but we almost missed it because of poor signage.

Farmers Market in Santa Fe worth the trip on a Saturday morning.

By mhans4 |

I enjoyed strolling through them Santa Fe Farmers Market. Loved the fresh herbs, baked goods, cheeses, produce. We enjoyed fresh made tamales, and admired the handiwork or artists. Definitely worth a Saturday morning look.

Small, but packed with goodness

By NellePunta |

This is a small area, but it’s absolutely overflowing with fresh vegetables, fruits, spices, beans, meats, and even non-food items like soaps, Lotions, CBD, Herbal blends, flowers, etc. We had a great time, and bought a lot!

If I lived in Santa Fe, I would come here every single week!

A must

By Staci Rogers |

Great place to get a variety of fresh vegetables, fruits, eggs, and plants. Many different vendors with different produce.

Great Fun, Even at the Smaller Tuesday Market

By Margaret W |

Returned with two preteen relatives, visiting from out-of-state, who loved the market. They took home useable souvenirs--organic raspberry jam and goat milk skin balm. The food samples and musicians added to our experience. I scored some special garlic and a signed copy of author/farmer Stanley Crawford's latest book. Fun for all!

Great place to buy locally

By Leslie R |

This is a wonderful market. Worth a look if you are visiting the area. It has tons of venders of all types. Not just produce. I love this market for its diversity of selection, etc.

Best Farmers Market!

By Lisa H |

Oh my! This is the best farmer's market that I have ever visited. The selections are incredible and the pricing is fair. We purchased heirloom tomatoes, peaches, roasted peppers and sage bundles for gifts. You should definitely make time to visit if you are there on Saturday!

Fabulous Market

By pjj89511 |

A farmers market may seem to be a strange thing to do on a vacation - but don't miss this. It's a great way to spend a Saturday morning and, if you're lucky enough to be renting a house instead of staying in a hotel, its a great place to buy everything you need for a Santa Fe style dinner - even meats, cheeses and baked goods. Even if you just go to nosh your way through, its well worth it and very fun. The merchants we dealt with were all friendly and helpful and the prices were reasonable. I would recommend to anyone visiting Santa Fe. If I was a local, I would go regularly.

Great Market with Something for Everyone

By Michie1291 |

I was on vacation in the Sante Fe area on a Saturday in August and I was missing my weekly visit to the farmer's market in my home town. My son had been to the Sante Fe Farmer's market and suggested that we take trip there so I could get my fix. I love open air markets and have visited many of them in the US and in other countries.

This was a great market with something for everyone. Fruits, veggies, cheeses, breads, pastries, candies, etc. You name it, they had it. Take your time and stroll through at a leisurely pace. There are food vendors so you can nosh away at a treat while checking out the farmer's crops and the craft person's wares. We tasted a couple of the flatbreads. A savory one with green chili and cheese and a sweet one with apple and elderberry. My son bought some fresh cheese curds and we popped them in our mouths as we made our way through the market.

There was an artists fair going on that weekend as well. So we crossed the street and spend a few minutes checking out paintings, pottery, textiles, and the like from various talented artists. It was a relaxing way to spend an hour or so. Parking is available on the street if you can find a space, but there are also parking lots and a garage in the area.

Awesome!

By djack7 |

A trip to Santa Fe in enhanced by a visit to this market on a Saturday Morning. The sights and smells will stay with you all day long. In the fall it is particularly wonderful. Don't miss it.

Not huge, but definitely fun

By Wine30 |

Start your morning off with a visit to the market in the Santa Fe Railyard. Nibble and drink samples while you make your way past stalls of food, produce, health and beauty items and other specialty goods. We purchased heirloom tomatoes, freshly ground green and red chile powder, garlic mustard, fresh sprouts, tea, chocolates and more! Locals can purchase eggs, meat, cheese and other fresh produce and there are plenty of options for visitors to take home a piece of Santa Fe. A very enjoyable visit. If I lived nearby, I would be a regular.

A Festive Market

By Kitty A |

Market filled with amazing veggies, fruits, flowers and now roasting chilies! Music, fresh baked breads and pastries, happy people. Our family loves the market experience, never disappointed.

Best farmers market

By Emily G. |

Besides Paris, this is my favorite farmers market! Absolutely adore the food, vibe, and vendors! Santa Fe is such a unique place! Delicious local food.

A nice outdoor & indoor market but very busy & difficult to move around

By Phil32999 |

Really enjoyed this market as it was a pretty even split between food goods, beauty & health products, & decorative items for sale. My only gripe was it was so packed that I found it hard to approach some vendors to look at their goods. They could expand the area to make it easier to navigate. That said we had a nice time visiting the market. I brought home a nice size bag of chili powder you can only get there.

Best Farmer's Market I've seen

By swop |

This is a highlight of Santa Fe. It's a straight up farmer's market, with prepared foods as well as meats and produce. It has the obligatory musicians and art market on the fringe. But the selection is incredible, the people who are selling are uniformly friendly - and the quality is very high. It's where we shop (Tues and Sat) when we're in town. An incredible number of people use this as their primary grocery.

Local Talented Artisans

By bennyjenks |

This is located across the street from the farmers market and is a wonderful way to view some of the local artists ware. Mix of yarns, glass items, photography, pottery and jewelry all located along a nice walkway. I met some colorful characters here and bought their wares in the past and just recently.Well worth the visit.

Go on Saturday

By Michaela H |

Fun and crowded, parking is a nightmare. So go early!

There are vendors of every description including local farmers, ranchers and artisanal producers. Lots of arts and crafts are on offer, along with musicians and lovely prepared foods.

Starting out as a true farmer’s market, this has more of a commercial/street scene atmosphere now. The administrators seem more interested in making money thru fees for everything than in promoting great local produce and crafts.

Go once to say you’ve been there, then go to the real farmer’s markets in surrounding areas like Corrales for a much better experience.

Always fun

By George C |

We planned our trip to make sure we would be able to attend this awesome market. The vendors are friendly and helpful. I got several new recipes. The produce is amazing and instead of the breakfast burrito I got a sausage on a stick. Definitely a good choice. I had the green chili and my wife had the beef. Both were good but the green chili was better.

More than fruits and veggies

By Bruce S |

This farmers market goes beyond the usual items. Lots of spices that are either hard to find or more costly in other parts of the country. There are also several local artists on display and an indoor set of home grown sellers. The SITE museum near the market is worth a visit.

Local

By jiriho |

Plenty to find and a community experience that spans generations connecting society. Perfect venue and fun for kids.

Very Fun Place to Look Around

By Terry |

Very nice farmers market. Beautiful flowers and vegetables. There is a snack bar for food ans drinks. Lots of roasted red chilies. Loved all the wreaths etc they had made out of them! Take an hour or two to just look around.

Wow!!

By Deb L |

We visited on a chilly Saturday morning, so there were a few vendors (freezing!) in outdoor tents, but most of the vendors were indoors. This is a wonderful mix of locally grown produce, local meats, spices & condiments, baked goods, and a variety of craft items. The quality of everything looked wonderful. Since we were only in town for a week, and with limited ability to cook here, we didn't buy much in the way of perishable foods -- just a tomato for our sandwiches, and a giant slice of corn/green chile quiche. My husband was entranced with the vendor who was selling beef sticks and sausages made from cows that the vendor raised himself; we bought several varieties. I also bought some artisanal soaps and mustards as gifts for friends back home. I only wish we were staying longer and could do more cooking -- I would have bought much more!

Early Morning Visit

By Ronald Macintyre |

We were passing through on a road trip and got up early to visit the farmers market in order to buy food for our trip, we picked up fresh fruit, some bread and had a general look around. Happy to support local producers.

Historic churches of Sante Fe, New Mexico.

By Deborah B |

This visit included several of the historic churches of Santa Fe. Next time we plan to see some of the art shops. We also want to visit the Native American historical venues.

Great time in Santa Fe.

By @Longdog2 |

Great place to visit on a Saturday morning. Fantastic selection of fruits and vegetables from the area as well as an artists market. Taking the train and bus system around Santa Fe is a great idea. Don't worry about parking and it is very inexpensive.

Not many vendors during the week

By Mitch M |

We went on a weekday and the market wasn't very big but the produce was fresh. We did manage to stock up on roasted peppers and would love to come back on a Saturday to see if the market is a big as everyone says.

Fun Saturday Morning

By BellaAntigua |

We always make a point of visiting the market in the summer and fall. The vegetables and fruits are beautiful, fresh and tasty. The baked goods inside, especially the pies, are excellent. Come for a cup of coffee and a pastry and enjoy the smells and sights. A lot of locals come to do their shopping here and it's nice to have a conversation with them.

Disappointed in Tuesday market

By Washingtondrysider |

The Saturday market may be much better, but we were not impressed with the quantity or diversity of vendors when we visited on Tuesday morning. We have seen much more lively and well-stocked farmers markets in smaller communities.

Yummy!

By Debra H |

What a wonderful Saturday morning! I suggest you go early - it gets really hot. Great selection of vendors & fresh goodies. Easy to park.

Great place to stroll and view local wares and food.

By Kesslane |

We liked this place because it was easy to walk around and "see it all". There was food, vegetables, entertainment, and people watching. The kids really enjoyed it.

Great way to spend Saturday night

By Janet D |

We walked there from our hotel on a Saturday morning. We saw amazing produce and art. There is so much to see - in addition the neighbor is great- we did some serious shopping there and had lunch!

Fresh produce; amazing baked goods

By BrianTravelholic |

Nice to see a wide range of fresh, largely organic products plus a goodly gaggle of baked goods. Saw some great rarely found greens for food wraps.

More than the fresh food

By svale87 |

Spent a nice morning at the farmers market. It was larger than expected for November. Lots and lots of roasting chilis. Decorative chili items. Quite a variety of artist's wares. And of course baggies, cheeses, breads and more.

Maybe it’s better on Saturday

By Marlys S |

We decided to visit Tuesday since we’re leaving early Saturday. There were six booths selling greens and plants. Inside you could buy books by local authors and pastries. Not worth the time and effort.

Farmers delight

By bigstitchguy |

The Saturday Farmer's Market is a must on any visit to Santa Fe. Food, gifts, and local surprises are abundant. The event and the people watching are amazing. The Santa Fe spirit is alive and well for your enjoyment. Bring a shopping bag. The open at 8 for best picks.

Great fresh produce

By Sherie J |

We made homemade stew with all the fresh veggies from the market! The tomatoes were so sweet that they tasted like fruit! Delicious with salt and pepper. We enjoyed looking at all the booths with art and jewelry and fresh flowers and peppers.

Fantastic

By PoshHen |

The Farmers market was the caliber of a European bi-weekly Farmers market. Local produce, meat, bread, and flowers. I wish I had room in my car for some of the plants.

Great market

By occdoc7 |

Wonderful Southwestern products. No dogs rule is helpful. Pay parking a little confusing plus machine would not accept bills, so we used quarters.

Fun farmer's market

By Rochelle F |

Nice farmer's market with artisan's showing their items. We bought a few gifts of really pretty things. Then we went inside to the building and wandered around the food stall and the other little gift places. Quite fun.

Parking is difficult so make sure to read the signs on where to park on the street.

Fresh grown organic food from local areas. From veggies to honey and grass fed meat 🥩.

By Carmen C |

Every weekend all year long! Help yourself get healthy just by eating what you buy at the farmers market!

Lots of fresh veggies...meats..flowers

By Badgelady |

Very difficult to find parking this morning but after circling the market twice and just as we were thinking of going elsewhere a spot opened up in a lot across the street. We walked maybe 50 yards and entered a maze of patrons and products..even 2 street musicians on guitar and accordion. Lots of stalls of various veggies and meats. Even a wine tasting area. Some items of clothing but more lotions, soaps, fragrance oils and red chiles on ropes in various sizes. Hubby went back by and bought some grass fed all beef sticks. Just as we got to the car a traffic enforcement officer was writing tickets for the lot we were in. He said if we were leaving we would not be ticketed. So perhaps someone would find a way to use the lot to help with parking.

Always a fun stop, but it is becoming more of a craft sale than a farmers market

By 1234texas |

In the old days, this was a really great farmers market--lots of people selling food products. That experience is changing with the times and it has far more craft items and an antique venue attached to it. We did like a few dealers in the antique area and found some nice items.

Our grand daughter liked some of the food displays and vendors. They were very friendly to her and answered all of her questions about food items--patiently! It is a colorful market with "something for everyone." We will keep on going, but not spend as much time as we did in the past. It is no longer a stop to pick up unique items that you can't find at Whole Foods!

Alive & wonderful...

By JamaisVu |

This is SO much more than a Farmer's Market; in fact I believe it's called simply the Saturday Market. Fresh-from-the-field produce, locally-sourced meat, home-made breads, salsas, soaps, handmade clothes... & so on. Fun street musicians, great people-watching, a wonderful "feel" to the entire experience.

Amazing Organic Produce

By TRoxanne |

Come hungry, because you will want to try the breakfast burritos, homemade pastries and delicious coffee! Beautiful area with so many vendors displaying beautiful organic produce. I would move to Santa Fe just to enjoy the farmers market bounty every Tuesday and Saturday. Parking was easy to find but you do have to pay, so come prepared.

Disappointing

By David S |

Located in SF Railyard. It is a largely indoor (at least this time of year) market, with a fairly meager selection of ready to eat food, produce, meats, spices, and crafts. If we were residents, perhaps the produce and meat selections would have been appealing, but as tourists not looking to purchase food to cook at home, this was nothing more than a small scale swap meet.

Overwhelming

By David B |

This is a fantastic farmer's market with many vendors and great variety. The vendors are very friendly and love to talk about their products. If I lived in Santa Fe I would shop here regularly. As a visitor I could only buy non perishable items but had fun looking at all and trying samples.

Abundance of Deliciousness

By Kathleen H |

I have traveled many places and always try to catch the local farmers market. This one exceeds all others. First rule though. Leave your dog at home. The market does not permit pets. Do bring a lot of cash! There are a ton of delicious products and you will want to take them all home! Choose from freshly roasted chilis, scrumptious baked goods, fresh tortillas, a huge selection of fresh produce and an array of specialty items. Make a morning and join the fun!

Such fun

By lisargold |

This is a must do in Santa Fe. The market is full of amazing produce, backed goods, spices, cheese, crafts and amazing smells. One of my favorite things to do in Santa Fe. Adjacent to the farmers market is an artist market which is also a must see

Small with local products

By Bruce Smith |

The farmers’ market is fairly traditional with lots local specialties. The are also interesting museums in that area and a multi screen cinema.

Terrific Farmer's market with fresh produce, spices, cheese, bakery items and more

By 970marya2014 |

This is one of the best Farmer's Markets I have ever been to. There are plenty of vendor's outdoors and inside. The seasonal produce is delicious and varied. Beautiful flowers and chili arrangements. The roasted chilies are excellent. A good variety of goat soaps and lavender items. Good coffee and bakery items are for sale. Parking on the street in the REI parking lot. On Saturdays, there is also an Artisan market next to the Farmer's market with attractive jewelry and art.

Great variety, plenty of fresh local food options

By MissMillers |

We visited the Market while on vacation in October when the outdoor and indoor spaces were both used. Now we live here and in the Winter it is the indoor space. There is an abundance of fresh product to have. Breads, cheeses, butters, warm woolly hats made by Coral. They offer chicken, beef, pork, lamb, and goat. It is all very good. We also purchased a hand made lambs wool blanket that is just amazing, so is his lamb leg. You can buy the best eggs, soap, chicken pot pies, fruit pies, mushrooms, sprouts, roasted chilies. Produce is abundant with carrots, greens, kale, arugula, potatoes and on and on. We spent many years frequenting the Ithaca New York market on Cayuga Lake. This is a notch above. Also check out the Art Market across the street. The Rail Yard markets are a great way to start you Saturday morning. Get a coffee, a pastry or sweet stuffed bread and enjoy.

Check this out visitors!!

By Rhonda S |

Vacationing here but went to the Farmers today - what a treat! Something for everyone! If I lived here it would be the "go to" for produce or a fun outing!!

Unexpected Farmers Market

By Nicholas T |

The Farmer's Market was lit. I really dug it, even though I didn't need to buy a bunch of fresh produce I did. LOL. The instagram photos were worth it...

Always worth the stop

By The Allens |

When we are in town we really enjoy grabbing a latte and strolling the market. They always have a great variety of food and artisanal crafts.

Very rich..

By EBertiery78 |

In flavors, art, plants, coffee, totally loved it!! The organic coffee was excellent, the wine place: not so much. If you have time to dig between the vendors, there are some interesting pieces of jewelry and antiques for reasonable prices.

Worth it for some

By michael s |

Great place to meet LOCAL farmers to taste and see the local environment. We got great peaches great local bread and pastries. Meet local authors good reason to start a walk in the railroad district

Santa fe farmers market

By Diane G. |

This was a birthday celebration for myself and a first cousin, both turning 70.my daughter and son in law joined us. What a magical place.the market was a highlight with outdoor and indoor areas and all kinds of food and treats, and interesting local fare. So many artists and creative foodies, many varieties of local chili peppers,as well as local artisans with art, jewelry, clothing. Weather was perfect in late October and we even got a dusting of snow our last morning before leaving on the turquoise road to Albequerqe.

Worth a visit!

By WarrenB07481 |

We took a trip here on a busy Saturday morning and found some really interesting local food, crafts and artists selling their things. People were very welcoming and friendly and it was really busy. Just a short 5 minute drive from downtown where we stayed. Worth a trip to taste, smell and see lots of great things under a couple of roofs.

Saturday market in Santa Fe

By Stay668094 |

We Love the farmers market in the railyard! Nothing like being outside in beautiful weather enjoying the sites and sounds. Friendly people and a variety of local organic vendors.

Selection, selection, selection...

By mfushimi |

Wow, am I jealous we don’t have this in Denver! The amount of produce to choose from was just incredible. If we lived here I would do all my produce shopping here. They even had farmers selling their pork, Buffalo, and Beef!

Don’t miss!!

By Steve C |

Visited twice. First during the week to see local artist selling their personal made items. Local bakery was a big hit!! Some nice items inside. THEN we visited on Saturday....food, vegetables.......everywhere. Busy with locals doing their shopping while picking up something special for breakfast! Go early!!! Great!

By RJourn |

A cold and blustery spring day in May probably dampened the market spirit but there must have been 20 booths with radishes and greens. I am sure that later in the summer there will be more variety as well as more craft booths but was disappointed in lack of variety at this time of year and parking seems to be a hassle even on cold days!

Big selection of food and friendly service.

By Ski1233 |

This market has always had a great selection of fresh fruit and vegetables to choose from and friendly service staff selling products. Get there early as some items will sell out.

Great local flare next to an amazig art galleries!

By travelbug_SanFran |

A great place to visit and taste some of the local products, roasted chillis, jams, local honey and more. But that is not all, next door there are simply amazing modern art galleries with museum quality pieces that you can visit.

Great service place and food from the best in Santa Fe

By Rocio S |

Anniversary visit excellent restaurant and hotel at the bar we sat we were attended from 10 the bartender ordered tomato cream and tipped it was 11 and delicious I highly recommend attention food..

Is This the Biggest Farmers Market?

By Ronald T |

I don't know if anyone rates the size of farmers markets around the country, but I have never seen one this extensive. It is both outside and inside at the Rail Yard on Saturdays. The choices of produce and food is amazing. Peppers are, of course, a featured item. I understand that a more limited version is available on a weekday. Don't miss this spectacle.

Vacation in New Mexico

By Connie K |

Santa Fe is a wonderful city with so much to see and so much history. On Saturday mornings in the Railway district there is an open air market and local merchants sell fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers and more. Local artists also sell jewelry, pottery, and beautiful different handiwork. It’s full of fun, live music, and for sure a don’t miss moment.

Excellent & busy; go early

By bendbound1 |

Quite a few local salves and art, as well as food. High quality produce. Meat and eggs, as well as goat milk, tend to go quickly. I highly recommend going early to avoid the crowds or if you’re looking for something in particular.

Weekend Morning Escape

By NoinahJaeb |

We went during the weekend and the morning was bustling! There were many little shops selling all sorts of products from fresh vegetables to jams to soaps. It had a outdoor as well as indoor area (with the indoor carrying more ready to eat food).

Parking can be a challenge but it's possible. Do visit it at least once when you are in Santa Fe.

Very interesting

By Larry R |

If you're looking for produce, plants or jewelry this is the place to come to. Some of them have good prices on the products. And you get to watch the train go by.

Overpriced and nothing different

By Fourfirstnames |

Was hoping for some buys here but there weren't any. They charge $3 for a small cup of coffee. I don't even pay that much at Starbucks. I did learn some interesting things about red worms compost.

tons to see - and eat

By Arty B |

great variety of local food, art and clothing. Easy to walk around, both indoor and outdoor stalls. Really enjoyed this spot

Saturday at Farmers Market

By vermillionroad59 |

Great Food, easy walking, great vendors to chat with and purchase from. Located great micro brews available for samples. Great exercise.

By 505QueenBee |

The farmers market is a fun destination year round. Check the hours and days prior to making the trek. The winter hours are a bit different. Bring a basket or bag to carry your veggies and goods home in. The prices are reasonable. Make sure you try the green chili cheese bread and / or fruit breads from the stand there (they are outside in the Summer and inside during the Winter months). There is a crafts market in the building to the West which is definitely worth checking out (furniture, leather goods, jewelry, rugs, etc.) The ristras at the Farmers Market are beautiful and hold up well. Enjoy your visit!

Santa Feans have it good...

By JoMKess |

Best farmers' market I've ever been to. Such a wide array of local products. if I lived in Santa Fe I'd be there every weekend; brought home some goods that actually taste the way they're supposed to.

A beautiful day

By A3572SHrobertb |

This farmers market is the best! The weather was beautiful. Great shopping, music, and crafts. Fun people watching. Nice way to spend an afternoon.

Locals are rude

By cycleforfun |

Tried to visit this market on Saturday morning; however the locals were not welcoming of a tourist visiting a very public/tourist venue. First was the ticket police experience- parked the car and walked immediately to the kiosk to pay for parking and before I could return to the car to place my parking payment receipt on the dashboard, the police were writing up a ticket on my car-what a racket. Second was the rude vendor at the market-I go to the market which is very public and full of tourists only to be told by a local 30 something guy that it was rude to take a picture without asking permission- really?? This is a public/tourist venue and he was not the subject of a picture and other tourists were taking pictures of this location. I felt he should not be in such a public place if he has these issues as he is running off tourists which I think was his intention. That was it for me-I left and drove to Taos that afternoon to be able to see the sites and take pictures of my trip and park without harassment.

Something for everyone

By Carol-Ann M |

The weekend farmer's market in Santa Fe is so much more than a typical farmer's market. You can find all the typical produce and artisan breads, cheese and jams, but there are also offerings from local artists include pottery, jewelry, and glass art. I found the value to be great. I would have bought more but we were on bicycles and it would have been tough to transport back to our hotel. Next time we visit Santa Fe, I'll plan on this spot for art purchase rather than the higher priced galleries.

Not worth the time

By jcjr2 |

Went to the Tuesday market in late June. It was quite small with a limited selection unless you wanted basic vegetables. Not worth the time in my opinion.

What a great way to spend part of a Saturday

By MASP55 |

Wonderful art, jewelry, pottery and then an entire building of amazing produce and products made locally. Vendors loved to share their stories and samples of their good.

Great place to visit.

By Richard S |

Wonderful way to spend a Saturday morning. We took the advice to come hungry and were not disappointed. Large variety of items to pick from and many were not food.

Super lame.

By Harel F |

people in new mexico must have not seen how REAL farmer markets really looks like, merchandise is on ok quality, i wouldn't by any of it on expense of regular market things.

it is inside the building, we where driving by few times looking for it outside before we realized it inside the building.

Enjoyed this Market!

By MSWMom50 |

We visited here on a Saturday morning during our visit in Santa Fe in April. It had snowed the night before so was a rather cold morning, but not a problem since the market was all inside. I love farmer's markets and visiting them in different cities as you really get a taste of the local culture. When we visited, the market had a great variety of products for sale. We bought some beans, chili mix, chile powder and homemade soap. I would recommend during your stay in Santa Fe!

A feast for the mouth and the eyes

By gardengeek58 |

We went to both the Tuesday and Saturday markets and both are good, but the Saturday market is much bigger. I love how the market is set out with the artists in another section, so if you're coming to do your weekly food shopping, you're not dealing with turistas ambling along like snails (i.e., moi) I was impressed by how many vendors were certified organic and the quality of the food. It was heartening go see how many heirloom varieties were being sold, given our concerns with seeds being hybridized. I had a roasted mushroom focaccia-type of delish - the earthy taste of the mushrooms was heavenly, followed by a slice of apple strudel just like grandma made. I took the Carb Bus to Crazytown The vendors with whom I spoke really took pride in their products and went to great lengths to explain the ingredients they used and the process they chose - I bought a healing salve for my hands that seems to be doing the job. The artists were friendly without being pandering (unlike our politicians) and there was no pressure to buy. The farmer's market is definitely a must-do on your list of destinations.

In season vs out of season

By SalfromIL |

We've been here more than once and the difference is what you'd expect. Out of season, there were just a handful of vendors. In season, the building was packed as was the outside. So obviously, come in the early fall when the chiles are roasting and the produce is everywhere.

Think of the Best Farmer's Market and Then Double That Experience!

By djack7 |

Then maybe you will be close to what a wonderful, sensory experience the Santa Fe Farmer's Market is. The colorful fruits, vegetables, baked goods and most of all the people make this a world class experience. In the fall, at the peak of the harvest it is worth driving 100 miles out of your way. You will not be disappointed except for the fact that you will have to leave.

Nice way to spend a Saturday morning

By Susan L |

Visited with friends during a girl's weekend. First we walked through the artists market where my friend bought some beautiful earrings. The vendors were very nice and accommodating. It's not very big but it is nice and varied. We then strolled through the farmers market and I wished that we were not leaving that day so we could buy some of the gorgeous produce and take it home and eat it but alas just a feast for the eyes. They have other non food items for sale so something for everyone. Great location and not too hard to find parking.

Girls weekend

By snev61 |

This place was so awesome ! So many local merchants selling their goods & wares . Go HUNGRY & taste the wonderful fresh food prepared right there on site. Fresh veggies , eggs, meats, and spices . All kinds of locally grown goods. We had some fresh juice, made right there in front of us , it was delicious!!! The local artists are there as well with their jewelry, artwork & other creations! It’s a beautiful thing! The people are really nice too. Had a great time strolling around ! There was also live music by local musicians adding to the festive atmosphere. You hear one kind of music at one corner then it changed to something else on the next corner . Very cool . Puts you in a good shopping mood!

Go for the food, location, and experience!

By pinkbabyadventure |

I love this market! My friend had a healthy pancake type of food made of beans and veggies. It was amazing but I can't recall the name (maybe a Mung Bean Pancake?). You will know it if you see it. The coffee was great and it is cheaper if you bring your own cup. The fresh fruit and pastries are awesome there. The people at the market enjoy conversation with strangers and the location offers amazing art galleries. The Blue Rain Gallery was my favorite. Exit through the front entrance and turn left for some beautiful art galleries.

Great indoor market

By on_the_go_98765 |

This event is held in a large indoor warehouse and is very popular with the locals who know good, fresh produce at reasonable prices when they see it. It is held between the railroad tracks and Paseo del Peralta (1607 Paseo de Peralta) in a building called the "Market and Community Center".

It does not get better than this

By Dudley H |

My wife has been dropping by the market on Tuesday or Saturday for years. Today I tagged along. Wish I had been tagging along all those years. This really is a farmer's market. It is all local and the taste can not be beat. It is entertaining as well --music, local crafts and artist. And near by parks to enjoy the fresh fruits and bake goods you have just purchased.

Great KID activity!!!

By luvplayacar |

I cannot tell you how much our teens loved this farmer's market! We started at the art booths and then wound our way around to see the hatch chili's getting roasted to the cherry slush stand to the blue corn with lavender iced donuts area - they loved every minute of it and it was a highlight of our trip!
My son helped pick out the sausages and steaks we grilled later that week - get the green chili sausages!
They picked out fresh bread and jams - the peach perserves from the slushie booth is so incredible - you'll want enough jars to last a year!
My son found some artwork he liked.
It was fun to visit with the artist and makers.
Live music was a plus.
Clean bathrooms in the main area.
The bakery with the blue corn, lavender donuts is inside the covered area.
Places to sit inside to eat as well as other food booths to choose from. Even wine is an option!
I suggest bringing cash and a bag and comfy shoes. Parking can be a bit tricky. And ATM on site if you forget to bring cash - also many booths take cards now.

5 venders on Tuesday and an over priced market shop

By E&M Reviews |

I can’t tell you how disappointed we were to go and have 5 vendors there. They sold vegetables, flowers, and buffalo. I had the buffalo at a local restaurant. It was amazing! I will not go to this farmers market again or recommend it.

Beautiful Farmers Market to visit

By gingerlee13 |

My friends and I went to the Santa Fe Farmers Market while visiting the city. It was a beautiful Farmers Market with all kinds of surprises in addition to wonderful produce and other food products. Between the five of us, we bought fruits, vegetables, spices, lavender, gifts for grandchildren, beans, books. We could have had a lovely meal if we had planned better! For seeing part of Santa Fe the locals enjoy, visit the Farmers Market.

We read the reviews about the market and planned to stop in for a bite to eat and some fun shopping... The market is only open 8-12, it used to be until 2 but they changed it! We were very disappointed, we didn't find much to do in the area so continued on the road.

Fun excursion on a Saturday morning.

By RMCINCINNATI |

Farmer's markets are an excellent way to experience local life, culture and food. This was an very enjoyable morning during our trip to Santa Fe.

Something for Everyone

By LittleShelleyZen |

Fresh produce sold by the dedicated growers, arts, and homemade items, bath products and art. A woman playing the accordion to entertain the crowd. Even on a snowy Saturday the parking lot was full. There were only a few outdoor vendors, but plenty inside.
Obviously this market is an excellent place to find special Santa Fe and Northern New Mexicos finest offerings, at reasonable prices.

Good food, folks and art!

By GailCheryl |

From the delicious and organic to the odd and charming, the Santa Fe Farmer’s Market was a wonderful experience on a cold November Saturday. There is amazing good cheer and plenty of color. We tried two different apple ciders to warm us up, and we are in love with the pumpkin pinon flat bread. Didn’t try the kimchi pancakes, but we are intrigued by them. Worms are for sale for composting. When we needed a little warm up, we went into the markets adjacent and found some gifts for friends at home. The Newtown Pippin apples were new to us, and they are very tasty indeed. A great way to find good food, folks and art.

Fun, large market

By Mike T |

Excellent market, very large vendor count well over 100, booths inside and outside! However it’s very very busy and parking is difficult. It’s fun, good earthy atmosphere and lots of choices

Morning visit

By Sue C |

Great market with multiple vendors and a variety of produce and wares. I would recommend wondering through the entire market to check what your options are before making a purchase. Everything is very fresh and baked goods we purchased were tasty. It was comparable to the farmers market in our town. It's a great way to start one of your days in Santa Fe.

No Admission Fee for the BEST Santa Fe Experience

By SherriToddStatler |

So glad we were in Santa Fe on Saturday morning so we could visit the Farmer's Market. Start with a green chile smothered breakfast burrito and a Blue Sky soda, and share a dark chocolate and chili corn cake donut. Then grab some flavored goat cheese for a mid afternoon snack and the green chile chicket pot pies for supper. Then grab a pint of the local cherries and some locally grown greens and you are good to go. Great music. Lots of handcrafts for souvenirs.

No admission charge for a terrific local experience but you will need cash if you want to eat and buy produce. Opens by 8 am. Slowing down by noon. Some farmers were sold out by 10 am.

Lots to see!

By thenextchapter2014 |

We visited the market on both a Tuesday and Saturday morning. Tuesday definitely has a smaller crowd and less vendors than Saturday. Parking can be an issue, however there are many places to park. We always were lucky and we're able to park on the street near REI. Many stands sell the same veggies and fruits but some are unique. There are restrooms inside and even a family restroom with a changing table and room for a stroller- yay! Inside there is a coffee ship and a shop with local and handmade items for sale.

Always go

By joedvet |

Great place to stop and wonder. It now has the railyard area next to it which really adds to all that you can see and do.

Good Market

By travelforfun2233 |

Good farmers market with lots of local fruits and vegetables. Many farmers markets now are full of anything but farmers, but this market had a large selection of different farm vendors. Most prices are decent. One bakery had items that looked good but prices were way too high...maybe a Santa Fe thing. Worth a stop. Tons of green chilies being roasted...smelled delicious!

One of the best!

By Lee4shalom |

I love this market! We were able to walk over from our hotel for the Saturday main market and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! There is a huge variety of outdoor stalls with fruits and veggies galore, along with local grilled sausages, peppers, grilled corn etc. And then inside is a huge section filled with prepared foods. We ate some delicious donuts/muffins and coffee and then proceeded for some fresh/healthy spring rolls with homemade dipping sauces (loved the sunflower sauce) and continued on to cheeses and more! It's a perfect place to start your Saturday morning when in Santa Fe. As with most places, it's very friendly and bustling, with lots of locals and tourists alike...all coming together for fresh, healthy, tasty food!

Found some great stuff

By KRM210 |

I recommend this place to spend your souvenir dollars! Don't get something from your trip to the Southwest that was made in China! Get something that was made local and will be one of a kind. Parking wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and the tips on trip advisor helped. We spent about 45-60 minutes there.

Enjoyed the local Santa Fe offerings

By Rachel V |

We walked down here on a Saturday morning, we were so impressed we went back and brought my brother back with us. Some of favorite highlights included the freshest homemade raspberry jam you've ever had, this bread thing that had fruit baked into it and we also got the breakfast burritos and made that our breakfast. The burritos were awesome!! Wish I could go back and get more stuff but we couldn't bring it on the plane. Plan to get breakfast at the market while you're strolling through!

Lovely market

By KDumlao |

The Santa Fe Farmers Market was a pepper-lover's delight. I've never seen so many colors, shapes, and sizes of peppers in one place! They had other food for sale too though . . . We bought some of the most delicious raspberry jam (Heidi's Raspberry Jam) and a lovely loaf of bread to have with our dinner. There were also several stalls inside an adjacent building that offered crafts and other non-food items which was fun to explore. Across the railroad tracks is a HUGE arts/crafts market, but it's only open a few days a week, and it was closed when we were there. The other great thing about the location is that there are lots of neat galleries nearby with interesting art to explore, and there are great restaurants in the area too. It was a great way to spend a weekday morning.

A Must!

By mrst44 |

Absolutely fabulous! I can't believe how much I s offered at this farmers market! I wish I had been more prepared. I had walked from where I was, staying. Next time I will be prepared, and there will be a next time.

Local goods and handmade items

By CubanCoolona |

Something different- fresh organic produce, honey, locally made spicy jam, spices, ready to eat food and on Saturdays by the rail yard vendors sell there handmade items.
Pricey but good. Worth going

Definitely worth a visit - nice variety of items, friendly vendors

By MT1 |

My wife and I stopped in here on a Saturday morning while visiting friends in Santa Fe. There is metered street parking but that is hard to get and there are some pay lots around that charge various prices. We used one just across the street which was $5 for the day.

It was April so there was not a huge variety of vegetables and farm fare but it was still good with baked goods, jellies, meats, fruit, chilies, etc. All the vendors we interacted with were very friendly and the few items we bought were very good. Would recommend a visit if in town.

Don't miss this slice of real Santa Fe life....beans, chiles, you name it!

By SusiefromCrucible |

We bought chile powder, we bought beans, we bought some other things and walked around for a couple hours, what a great Saturday morning with the real people who live here not just tourists! We love to go to local outdoor markets wherever we travel in the world to see just what we saw in Santa Fe....how people live and shop for food and what is local. We were there in mid May so it wasn't full farm season, but there was still plenty. If you can believe it, I bought 10 lb of beans to take home on the plane...best beans I ever ate! Also bought several packages of ground red chiles to make some of that red sauce at home.

So glad we stopped

By Michelle S |

We came for some of the market goodies - great restaurant was a surprise. Bought some bread, jam, mustard, produce - they were roasting chiles - school kids were visiting. Then we went over to the artisans booths. Got some great blown glass. This is the place to walk and shop, enjoy the sights and smells and the music. Glad we didn't miss it !! Can't imagine this place on Saturday, we went on Tues

Fun, colorful, great produce

By Kidoma |

We visited the Farmers Market both Tuesday and Saturday. It was much easier to park on Tuesday but there were much fewer merchants as well. Nonetheless on Tuesday, we got some amazing French bread, tasted a good capuccino, got fresh peaches, potatoes, plums and tomatoes. Saturday we came back with kids in tow, 2 teens and 2 younger ones. The view, the smells and colors were wonderful. Vendors are friendly. Lots of choice. We got some organic strawberry jam and went on to visit SITE next door as the kids were getting antsy. All the produce was quite flavorful. Fun activity to do, especially if you're renting for a week or two and eating some meals in.

Zero km products

By Aga1963 |

On certain fixed days a week the area is filled with numerous stalls where local producers sell their products (fruit, vegetables, cheeses, meat, flowers, jewellery). The market is also very popular with locals as well as tourists. It's really pleasant to walk and shop on a beautiful day from the early hours of the morning.

Fresh Produce and a Sense of Santa Fe Culture

By Douglas T |

I was told the Santa Fe Farmer's market, which is open Tuesdays and Saturdays in the summer, is the 3rd ranked farmer's market in the country. I would not go that far, but it is a nice way to start the day, with great local produce and farmers to speak to, and entertainment for children which makes it very easy. It is in the old railyard area which is up and coming, with contemporary art galleries, movie theatres and lots more. There is limited baked goods and some prepared foods, but no cheese, meat, wine, flowers or some other things one often sees. We ended with a great dinner out of the fresh produce, so well worth it.

Excellent

By The Allens |

We greatly enjoyed walking around and checking out this farmer’s market. They had everything from fresh veggies to prepared foods and coffee as well as other beverages as well as artisan crafts and more.

By dwighton67 |

What a treat! This farmers market is the best one my wife and I have ever been to! The diverse selection of products, the culture, the scenery.. The EVERYTHING! This is a must stop in Santa Fe!

sensational!

By Patte R |

recently visited the saturday morning farmers market. what a treat! abundant with local vendors. be sure to check out the artisan booths at the far end of the market, and go early! crowd really blossomed by mid-morning. the railyard is along the bus line which makes it very easy to get to if staying at a local motel. will definitely go back on my next visit to santa fe!

Fun browsing/shopping at the indoor Sante Fe Winter Market

By PSlive2travel |

Highly recommend taking the time to walk across the street from the Farmers’s Market and check out a fun place to spend a few hours wandering around. The market is a cross between a flea market, artist show, and mini-food stop - mixed in with some collectibles and books! Vendors sell original visual and wearable art, jewelry, and gently used but vintage (mostly) clothing or bag. I enjoy browsing books and collectibles. There is usually at least one rug dealer (fiber) and usually cowhide ones, if you’re into that.

The building is right alongside the tracks and there is pay parking behind it ... go up the stairs to the back door !

Don’t miss this! Time date specific

By dan |

Don’t miss this if you like quality foods and community flare. We were so pleasantly surprised. Free samples of the best tasting fruits and veggies, food stalls and Crafts. Live music.

Must visit

By MortyNik |

If you are in Santa Fe then you have to visit the Farmers Market. Great foods and crafts. Just a good time.

Mostly Indoors

By Susan H |

The picture on this site shows lots of outdoor tents and booths. This is not what we found in April. There were about 5 tents outside selling items and the rest was inside. The prices were a bit high, but I did buy some fresh spices, fresh bread, and dried beans. Lots of eggs and other produce for sale as well. I enjoy wandering farmer’s markets even if I don’t buy much!

Saturday breakfast and shopping

By IowaBell |

What a great market! Indoors and out. We got in line as it was busy, to get pastries and a burrito. This place was so much fun, lots of good food! Bring a bag and patience.

Ripoff Overpriced Waste of Time

By James V |

The 2 for 1 EBT exchange is a ripoff. They won't sell you the tokens you need but force you to buy ones you don't need along with the ones you do. Most the vendors are excluded from receiving either the wooden coins or silver color coins you purchase plus all the prices are more expensive than in the grocery stores. I can buy more of what I need at the grocery store by passing on the 2 for 1 exchange at the farmers market. In addition to that all the vendors I needed to buy from weren't there so it was altogether a waste of time. The 2 for 1 is a lie if they don't allow the vendor to accept it.

Produce, People, and a Rainbow of colors

By KMW-FL |

If you happen to be in Santa Fe on a Saturday morning...go to the Farmer's Market at the Santa Fe Railyard!! You will find fresh produce, people, beautiful colors in the vendors' stalls, food, people, roasting chile peppers, vibrant red-green pepper risitas hanging in just about every booth, people, dogs, and much more and yes, people!!!. Fresh food available for right now or take home. We purchased some individual quiches for our dinner that night. Quick heat up and so delicious. Oh, and we also couldn't resist the smell of the roasting peppers...went home with a bag of them as well. Fun way to start the weekend in Santa Fe.

Local Goodness

By Thomas T |

A farmers market that both caters to the gift seeker as well as the at home chef. There are so many booths that offer interesting and local product.

Our second visit

By jtw1122 |

Really enjoyed this market two years ago so definitely wanted to go back this time. Lots of fresh veggies and fruits. My favorite is the many varieties of New Mexican chilies & powders. Wish it was closer to home.

This Is Definitely a Must

By John Z |

If you are only going to be in Santa Fe for a few days, make sure that you are there for the Saturday Farmer's Market. My wife and I had the breakfast burritos at the Pavilion Café. It was outrageously good. We bought some fresh roasted chilies which were terrific. The market had such beautiful produce although being on vacation we didn't buy much. If food is your thing, this is a must. Even, if it isn't, this is a great place to visit. The smell of fresh roasting chilies is impossible to beat.

Farm to Table

By 1945cosmo |

This is an excellent market showcasing local growers. Because of the short growing season farmers have learned to augment, using large greenhouses to start plants early. The selection of local chili and apples is fantastic towards early September. Also lots of garlic growers with many exotic strains. Local honey and jarred jams as well as organic buffalo and cow meat available as well. Always buskers playing all types of music, some are very good musicians. Great place to see and be seen on Saturday mornings.

Superb market

By Jane W |

go go go! all sorts of things..coffee, donuts, soaps, textiles, fabulous homemade chile wreaths, and a juried art show all under one roof!

Shop Local

By Alicia P |

Don't eat before coming. Pastries, tamales, burritos are wonderful. The artisan breads are phenominal. Buy more than you need because you will wind up eating half of your purchases while wandering! The varieties of fresh produce are overwhelming! Don't miss the hand crafted cheeses and butter inside, though. The farm fresh eggs (including emu and duck today) will stop you from EVER buying at a grocer again. Large variety of meats, too. Gifts galore. Make sure and buy a handmade, colorful shopping basket! Anyone who is ANYONE uses them. While there, check out the Indigenous Artist Market across the street!

Nice venue - even during the off-season

By Steve F |

The Railyard district has its galleries; lower key than downtown or Canyon Road, but the Farmer's Market is the real attraction here. The indoor venue gets you out of the sun and into a cornucopia of produce, baked goods and crafts. Lots of tasting opportunities too. Even off-season in the winter, the market is worthy of a visit.

Great selection of quality foods

By foodieschmoodie44 |

Massive outdoor and indoor market with vendors selling everything from organic veggies to hand woven baskets. Rather than the mega-vendors you find in some other farmers' markets who sell every type of fruit and vegetable (so you know they haven't grown most of them) this one feels very authentic.Vendors are very specialized -- one sells only organic garlic, the next only goat cheese-based spreads.
Note: they don'tallow dogs, other than service animals.

Great Saturday market!

By Cindy O |

Stopped on our way to old town on a Saturday morning. Parked in the garage, if you come later than 10am be prepared to circle for parking here or on the streets. Good sized farmer's market - art vendors on one side, separated from the food vendors. On the food side, there were tons of stands selling vegetables of all types, seasonal fruit, honey, spices, breads and more. The building has vendors as well, including a couple of delicious bread/pastry stands. Wish we lived in the area - I would definitely go there weekly for fresh produce.

Perfect Fall Morning

By McHove |

We arrived around 10:30, and the market was in full swing. I didn’t notice anything was sold out at that time. Some of the stands had lines, but I had no trouble making my purchases. Sellers and buyers were happy and everyone seemed to be having a wonderful time.

Great place to socialize and support local businesses

By vsand51 |

This is THE place to go on Saturday mornings for delicious coffee, baked goods, fresh produce, locally made health and beauty products and music. Sit down at a picnic table with your goodies and meet visitors and locals. It is pricey, but a lot more fun and interesting than going to the grocery store or mall. I go every Saturday and always enjoy it.

Santa Fe Stop

By Frank |

Very nice farmers market, with a lot of selection. Produce seemed to be a little pricey, but it was ripe and better than store bought. Most vendors were very helpful and friendly. Parking was hard to find though.

So much to see!

By MrsA518 |

The Farmers Market is only open on Saturdays, in the Railyard section of Santa Fe. Judging by the business I saw being transacted, it could easily be open every day of the week. If you want local produce, baked goods, or handmade goods, this is the place to get it. I saw people walking with plants, flowers, woven blankets, and all kinds of food. Definitely worth the ride downtown.

Now I get the raves

By montanapescado |

Wed been to the Santa Fe farmer's Market once in years past and decided it had little to offer us. Produce was not so abundant and what was there didn't look so hot. Needing something to do early this morning, we asked over and the place was a cornucopia of the best looking produce I'd ever seen! We really hadn't planned on buying anything and we walked away with bagfuls.

Yes, it's pricey, but it's really good stuff!

One caveat: we were staying at a nearby (within easy walking distance) B&B, so we didn't have to worry about parking.

Just a fun place to ramble around

By 535WilliamS535 |

We arrived early in the morning, having walked from our hotel way down to the rail yard. The farmer's market was closed on Sundays. But various arts and crafts vendors were there. It's always fun to walk around and look at artistic creations.

We met a Native American man, Dominic Arquero from Cochiti Pueblo. He was friendly and spent time talking with us and asked about life in North Carolina. As we talked, I was browsing through his prints of original water color works. Long story short, I bought one, and am glad it did. It is a simple depiction of tribal life, and it is its simplicity that makes it beautiful.

Discovering the Santa Fe Farmers Market

By Patricia T |

This unexpected Saturday morning visit was a pleasure. Lots of things art galleries and workshops in the same area, but we ran out of time. Bought an African basket, interesting jams and salsa, cards, soaps and a fetish. Tasted and bought local wine, too, which was a whole lot better than I expected. Next time we'll go earlier so we can see more.

By enoesahp |

Excellent choice of fruits, veggies, and art from local area. The smothered green chili breakfast burrito was a hit with all of us

Just go!

By Buffy G |

Everyone should go! Wish I lived there so I could buy the fresh fruit and veggies. The food was bomb...dont be afraid to try new things!

Don't get the hype!

By zombienic |

Since we are we're in town during the weekend we made a point to go over here for the Saturday Farmers Market. Everything inside was expensive, and NO ONE was social distancing. There were only a few vendors outside which looked expensive as well but we weren't about to buy vegetables or meats on vacation anyways. We were excited to go in the building on the other side that looked to be full of handmade gifts so we could buy things for ourselves and others, but the man at the door stopped us and wouldn't let us in because we had coffees with lids on them! How insulting to think that an adult is going to spill a little drink with a lid! Too bad for them, they probably lost hundreds of dollars! We shopped elsewhere.

Too much fun!

By werollalong |

My Saturday routine in Santa Fe is to walk through the Farmers Market, watching everybody and seeing what is being sold. It is usually packed with people! I may get a strudel or a spring roll. Everything is fresh!
Then I go outside, across the railroad tracks, to the Mercado. As a friend says, it’s too clean to be a flea market. I have bought some wonderful stuff there! Go to Dollar Debbie’s for real bargains! Well, just go through all of it because there are a lot of great people and a lot of great stuff there! I love every Saturday that I am there!

Worth seeing

By jfromd |

Many organic products from local farmers, tasty displayed and they are really tasty. Fresh cocked and ready to eat food are also available. Near railway station, within walking distance from plaza.

Framers Market

By glennh71 |

Start your Saturday morning at the farmers market. Organic vegtables, and a lot of bake goods. The market is free to all guest but parking is tuff. You can walk thru the market in less than an hour.

Catch the Local Flavor

By Mirth60 |

Great place to gather in the morning. Grab a coffee, delicious pastry and a pork hand pie. Sit inside or outside and watch the variety of people coming to market. Stock up on peppers, beans, and spices in the winter and beautiful fruits and vegetables in the summer. Parking is a problem and the only reason why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars for the market.

Local writers at a Farmer's Market - Really?

By pg812015 |

The Santa Fe Farmer's Market is open year round on Saturdays; however, spring to late fall it is also open on Tuesday mornings. In addition to locally grown veggies one will find craft items, unusual musical groups, perhaps a local chef's demonstration, interesting food like a bokchoy pancake with different fillings. Locals come early with woven baskets (probably purchased from the gift shop open daily) to carry their fresh veggie and fruit purchases. The Road Runner train makes a stop near by and one sees riders heading for the market. Tourists from all over the world visit. In the past month or so, each week I've met people from Australia visiting US for first time. It's exciting to grab a pastry and coffee and chat. But probably the most unique thing one will find at this market is a table labeled "Home Grown Authors". It was developed some 5 years ago by Maxine Davenport for the New Mexico Writers Organization. There are usually six writers (but not always the same ones) there to share and sell their books and usually at a discounted price from online purchases. One can always find children's books, interesting novels, memoirs, and often unique topics. I recently purchased what the author describes as a "self help" book based on classical composers thoughts. The writers are always eager to answer questions as well as share information about their organization. Many of the visitors say that they are also writers ; then there's the mutual sharing. In interviewing some of these "home grown" folks, I was told that regardless of sales or lack of them, it is the interaction with the visitors that gives them joy. Also, they have heard many of the travelers, once they get over the shock of writers in a Farmers' Market, say "It's so great to see you here!" or "What a great idea!" By the way, I once read in the local paper that there are more writers per capita in Santa Fe than anywhere else in the world. Here you thought Santa Fe was only about art! A trip to the market for whatever reason will be well worth your time, but remember the writers are there only on Tuesdays!

First class and clean

By Vicky H |

Not only can you buy fresh fruit and vegetables here you can see some amazing artisans work. Every kind of peppers can be purchased and there’s even a man who can roast your pepper purchase on the spot. We enjoyed a yummy breakfast burrito, a little spicy but really good. Bring your market basket and enjoy.

Awesome Artisans!

By ZippyPC |

Santa Fe is one of our most favorite destinations as is the Farmers Market! Each time we land in SF we know we will be making a "must see" stop at the Farmers Market! I love seeing the textiles and experiencing the fresh produce/flowers/breads! Parking is an issue.

Another "don't miss" in Santa Fe

By MJ W |

The atmosphere and variety of things for sale was amazing. Wandering through the market was an adventure, and all the vendors were friendly and eager to help.

The food was incredibly fresh, the cheeses were great.

The sausage on a stick were excellent.

A perfect Saturday morning activity ,

Saturday market

By lipp40 |

Interesting selection of goods in April. However, still seemed more touristy than I expected. I was buying Chili powder and the lady running the booth I selected wasn't particularly helpful, but I'm not sure how others would be. I was also unsure about parking so we did find a meter.

ART and JEWELRY

By road-warri0r10 |

we visited during he Native American Arts festival. plenty of jewelry, artwork and music. the walk thru the vendor was clean, level and easy.

Great selection of fresh foods at good prices

By mtscribe |

The venue is fabulous, apparently well-organized, and obviously well attended by vendors and buyers alike. Fresh herbs, flowers, spices, berries, veggies galore!! The permanent pavilion has food available for purchase from a cafe as well as from vendors. Across the street were displays of art for sale.

Fruitless

By Ernest W |

SUMMATION: Wonderful, fresh flowers, herbs, and vegetables, but no fruits. Everyone was quite nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. Had the atmosphere of a fair. Most prices were reasonable. Fairly crowded.

Great Farmers Market

By yahoody |

What a treat to be able to go to the Farmers Market while in Santa Fe. This is a very large farmers market featuring all sorts of heirloom vegetables, also bread, herbs, meat, eggs and other items that I'm sure we missed. There's an indoor section as well that has a couple of small cafes and souvenir shops and restrooms. We really wished we could buy more produce, but since we were on the road we were limited. We did get some delicious heirloom tomatoes to add to our picnic lunch. There was also an artists market across the street featuring lots of local artisans - we ended up buying some things there also. It's just a gorgeous setting, with high energy and lots of fun.

Great Farmers Market!!

By Dot |

I always make a point to visit farmers markets when I travel. It’s a great way to get to know the culture of a city through the lens of food. This is one of the best, if not the best, market I have visited.

We were there in the latter part of September, so the harvest seemed to be peaking. Rows of great local farmers, chile roasting and samples. The indoor space held prepared foods and packaged goods.

On Saturdays, a local craft market extends near the railway. Nice selection of artists.

Oh My.....

By AirstreamR |

We recall when this market started a couple of decades ago. It is one of the finest markets we visit when we are on this part of the country. Pick a fresh farm product you want and it is likely here. Saturday and a reduced version on Tuesday at the Railyard.

Loved Saturday's Market

By Rumples |

This is one of the liveliest farmers' markets that I've gone to worldwide. Upbeat vendors wait in a sea of white tents to capture the attention of the hordes of locals and tourists wandering by in the Railyard complex. Beautiful displays beckon everywhere and include veggies, fruit, chilies, flowers, houseplants, jams, bread, body-care products, eggs, honey and even worms.

This is the first farmers' market where I have seen yak meat for sale. I had to learn more about the product, because I had only eaten it in Tibet, and was surprised to learn that yaks thrive on a farm near Santa Fe. Live country-style music added another positive dimension to the experience.

An indoor section of the market has additional offerings, including a gift shop and a section devoted to tea. Across the railroad tracks, a much smaller artisans' market also beckoned with jewelry, paintings, photographs, pottery and more.

The Saturday market is open year-round from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., June through September; and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., October through May. For those who will not be in town on a Saturday, there is also a Tuesday market during the same hours between May and November. Parking locations are listed on the market website but it is also possible to get here via the city's free shuttle service. That runs every 15 minutes between the Railyard water tower, Canyon Road and the Plaza.

Great Market

By Steve S |

We went there on a Saturday morning, and there were quite a few people there. Many different vendors selling various produce and other products. There was also an "artist market" right next door, which was worth the effort to see too.

Great place for all the flavors of Santa Fe!

By LizNantucket |

Wrapped up our last morning in Santa Fe at this special market. After stocking up on an amazing assortment of chiles, blue corn flour and healing ointments, we sat down for a breakfast of the best enchiladas of our trip. The vendors were gracious with their education in the best use of our purchases. The market has a lively undertone. So happy we were able to bring the taste is Santa Fe home with us.

Saturday Morning Get-Together

By Zoom_Gotti |

Nice and fun market to gather at early Saturday morning. Maybe better as a social gathering than as a market. Also operating on Tuesday but not with as many vendors. Note that this isn't Seattle's Pike Place market but a regional market with maybe fifty or so vendors. So you won't find the variety of produce, herbs, cheeses, and breads that you would expect to find in a larger market. But Santa Fe is a small town and, for it's size, it beats the markets that rotate through the Las Vegas (NV) area. The market stands are both indoor and outdoor with sit down café service available. It's located at Guadalupe and Peralta in the historic Railyard which gives you some other shopping opportunities. Pay for parking or walk from the west side of the Plaza. Good stop for an hour or two.

Fun place to stop in

By MiamiBeach1975 |

We were in santa Fe for a few days and happened across this market and had to check it out. It was winter so it was inside but definitely worth checking out. Fun stuff.

Local Market -- worth visitng

By J Warren R |

All of the food products sold here are locally produced by real New Mexican farmers and ranchers. I understood that most, but not all, of the craft items in the market are produced locally. Open year round on Saturdays 8am to 1pm, the farmers market is housed indoors in the railroad area. There were 50-60 vendors selling chili, of all things, as well as lamb, winter vegetables, eggs and greens. There is even a place to get breakfast burritos. Coffee and tea are available. As expected, I found the farmers friendly and willing to explain what went into their products. A string band filled the air with enjoyable music for all to enjoy. Restrooms available on site. Parking is limited so plan ahead. A must stop for any foodie visiting Santa Fe or for anyone else who enjoys knowing more about where their food comes from.

Terrific food, entertainment

By FourTickets |

We went during the Arts Festival and the food was phenomenal, they had Mexican dancers, and beautiful art. Highly recommend going to get a flavor of authentic Santa Fe. We went early and parked behind the public library it was convenient and we were able to use a credit card in the parking meter and pay 4 hours ahead of time.

By Tater T |

Just a warning the day to visit is Saturday for the full experience. Tuesday is a fraction of the growers and rarely have anything going on. Don't go on a Tuesday and expect much of anything.

Amazing! Simply Graze Your Way Through

By Lora C |

Graze, yes, but also grab some of the amazing vegetables, fruit, baked goods, cheese and more. Take it back to your place, grab a bottle of wine and just simply enjoy. I wish they had had this when we lived in Santa Fe, I may not have ever left.

Mrs.

By cindy f |

We shopped for fresh vegetables for Thanksgiving. There were lots of root vegetables and some beautiful radish varieties. My daughter selected a verb nice squash that we prepared for our holiday meal. Most of the booths are located in a tin building so dress warmly. It was a nice outing and I recommend it for its family atmosphere. Thank you, CF from Albuquerque, NM

Cute but small

By persephonek |

We went on Wednesday night so it was probably much smaller than the Saturday one. The kids loved it and we wound up getting watermelon slices and watermelon juice. The kids loved it and the little gallon looking jug. Do bring quarters as you will need to pump the meter of quarters to stay awhile. I would go again just on a Saturday.

Go hungry!

By texmextica |

I was in town on a sister trip and my only complaint was that I didn’t have a kitchen to cook up all of the good produce being sold. Friendly folks selling fresh produce, delicious pastries, quiches, donuts, burritos, spices, beef, frito pies oh my! Ha! Really just a great farmers market. Go! (there was also a guy singing just to make it that much more fun.)

Wonderful market and more!!!

By Carol |

We love farmer's markets and had heard that this was one of the best. It is.

It's full of fresh produce, wonderful breads, fragrant chilis and much, much more. And the artisan part of the market is wonderful - really talented artists.

We loved this market and had it not been for just having finished a big breakfast, would have filled up on all of the wonderful samples. A must go-to in Santa Fe.

Fun Sat. morning

By Celia A |

Many very interesting items here. Lots of vegetables, cheese, breads. apple cider. We were not cooking on our trip. but bought some great bread and goat cheese spread for snacking.

Cool to see if you are in town!

By JenniferJ45150 |

This place has unique vendors selling everything from yak meat to fresh flowers. We were just there for the day and got lucky that the market was open. The was a very eclectic crowd filled with locals. It was nice to walk through and check it out. We bought a bag of cherries that we shared on the ride back to the hotel.

Nice small farmers market!

By Katia P |

We loved some local specialties - don't miss Old Pecos mustards, Vivac wines.
Edible flowers bouquets.
Mulberries.
Goat cheese in a jar.

Fantastic market , and oh! those chilis

By Thomas C |

In the East, no one grows chilis like the farmers in New Mexico. I thought I knew something about the varieties but I saw (and smelled and tasted!) ones I'd never seen before. My wife isn't a fan of chilis but there were plenty of jams and sauces to interest her. We usually bring small gifts home for family & friends when we travel, and the unusual jams with their unique flavors were greatly appreciated (especially those we kept for ourselves). I rated this a 4 only because the large building that was there was mostly empty. I'm not sure if that's because it was midweek and some of the vendors don't come on that day, or if there was another reason. One vendor we expected to find sells jerky; there was no one selling jerky at the market. We've been to many larger markets in numerous cities, and each is a unique experience, so if you like this kind of thing, make plans to go. Easy to get to and parking was no problem. Very clean.

Fun Year Round Market

By ron S |

A year round Saturday morning event. My guess is when it gets warmer there are more booths inside and out. In February its a little cool but this market moves indoors. A little bit of everything.. Arts, crafts and those crops either grown in Greenhouses or dried or preserved for the season

Great Farmer’s Market

By Suzie M |

So fun! Stalls and stalls and stalls of fresh vegetables, great food, and crafts. We were there during the green chili harvest so the air was filled with the smell of roasting green chilis. Most vendors only take cash but there are ATM’s at the Market that provide money for a fee. That fee goes to taking care of those who are food unstable in the area.

Saturday Market in Summer

By B H |

The Saturday Farmers’ Market in July, August and September is the time to go. Busy, bustling and fun! Free tastings, musicians, cooking demos and people watching. In August when chile roasting starts the aroma is delightful.

Winter Market is a completely different experience. Obviously not much produce in cold weather and the market is mostly prepared foods and other natural products (soap, yarn, etc) Weekday markets are far inferior to Saturday. Also don’t confuse the Farmers’ Market with the Artist Market on the opposite side of the railroad tracks.

Parking can be difficult. I try to park on Manhattan and walk across Guadalupe.

Don't go on Tuesday

By Masterchiun |

We went on a Tuesday at about 1:00 and the few vendors that were there were packing up. We did make a few purchases and they were quite fresh and good tasting.

Simply a Great Start to Your Saturday Morning in Santa Fe.

By harrymcballs |

We try to visit Santa Fe a couple times a year and have for almost a decade. We tend to hit our old favorites and mix in new adventures from a list of places we never seem to have enough time to check out. The farmers market falls squarely into the favorites column. Get there early so you can park within a few blocks and allow time to just meander and enjoy the people, crafts and wonderful local food offerings.

I recommend talking to the local vendors, learning about how their products are made and tasting their offerings. Local artisan foods include local honey, jams, goat/cow/sheep cheese and sausages, flowers, baked goods, medicinal herbs and fresh vegetables. These goods are generally hand crafted, locally sourced and organic.

I always go there hungry and head straight for the Farmer's Market Cafe for coffee, and a breakfast burrito (smothered with fresh green chile). The pastries are fresh and include favorites such as danishes and jelly filled donuts as well as more creative offerings like blueberry and lavender glazed donuts and chocolate glazed donuts with crumpled bacon and toffee. Without question you will find something new to try or take home.

The market is small, accessible and easily navigated. When you have had enough there are unique shops to visit nearby like Casa Nova which features hand made African crafts. All in all the market is delightful way to start your day.

Great venue with amazing fresh food selection.

By D C |

What a great way to experience Santa Fe. Extremely friendly and lots of local foods to try either at the market or for taking home. Amazing selection of peppers to tempt our taste buds.

Best Market!

By Geina T |

This market is a must when visiting Santa Fe. Great food and local items can be found. There are also lots of local artists and great finds to be found! I always go to the market! Dont miss it!

Even in winter...

By swlcolo |

This market is vibrant and fun even when it's moved indoors during the winter. The vendors are very friendly and the fare ranges from fresh veggies to spices to other local goods. I love the summer market but even winter this market retains its charm and flavor.

Just beautiful

By Karen W |

This was the perfect visit to the Santa Fe Farmer’s Market. A beautiful day, generous bounty to choose from fun entertainment and crafts. I bought way too many things but happy to support local farmers. Just go!

A must visit.

By ReadRideRepeat |

We were in town for a quick trip and happened to find the market on a walk.
Fabulous place!
Small but tons of great stuff that travels.
We bought dried beans, corn meal and spices for home.
They also have coffee, cold pressed juice, tons of pastries, and other breakfast/ lunch items.

Hands Down the Best Farmers Market that I've Visited

By thomassT1428MJ |

If you love Farmer's Markets, you must visit this one. Easily the best market that I've visited. The vendor/food selection is fantastic and the people are so welcoming and friendly. Plan to spend at least two hours. You won't regret it.

Stopped by on Saturday morning on way out of town

By Charles V |

This is a trendy little market. Most of the stuff here is way overpriced, but the specialty bread vendor sells some very tasty breads fit for any palate. We did buy some specialty goat cheeses at $8 for a few ounces, which we put on bagels when we got back to Texas. Try the apricot/habanero if you get the chance to stop by. It is the best!

What an outstanding farmers market… Something for everybody.

By MauriDarling |

Had the luxury of visiting the farmers market this past Saturday. This is a truly well thought out and inspired market. Not only is there beautiful and fresh produce, but there's great musical entertainment to enjoy while you're shopping. This is a dog friendly experience and quite easy to maneuver. There is an indoor space with vendors selling food and other inspired items. I had a delicious hot breakfast burrito , priced just right!

This is on the "antique/flea market" across the track from the farmers market

By 1234texas |

This is the second time we have been to this market. It is a very good one with many quality dealers in different areas--antiques, fine art, pottery, jewelry, Indian pieces, and upper end leather. You can find many nice items at reasonable prices. The dealers are friendly--for the most part.

Parking is a challenge--get there early for the best spots and spend the $7 to get the all day parking close in. If you plan to make a dayn of it, this will save you a bundle and many long trips back to your car!

This is a good "combination" day with the actual Farmers Market. You can get food at the market. The restrooms are very clean--despite the large crowds.

Support Local Businesses!

By Alexandria S |

This is a great farmer's market! There is a lot of available parking, although most spots require payment. Another great option if you're local is to hop on the Rail Runner, it's a fun experience and it drops you right outside the RailYards. When it comes to the Farmer's Market remember Saturday is food and Sunday is crafts and other goods. You can get any variety of produce, meats, pastries, ristras, and more. There are also local performers you can watch you eat and drink to your heart's content. Inside the building you will find a coffee shop (that has great donuts and local ice cream), Vivac winery tasting room, and a great gift shop. Don't miss out on a chance to support local businesses!

Great Place to spend a Saturday morning

By Tex-NM-hybrid |

We went to the farmer's market because they also advertised an art show. The artists were unique and varied. The actual farmer's market part was very good. Great selection with lots of organic options and unusual offerings.

Fantastic shopping experience

By SladeNash |

This is a way to see and support real Santa Fe! I was amazed at the sights sounds and smells. All so good! Don't miss this! I brought guests to the market and they were blown away. We had some quick food and shopped for items in the marketplace, even listened to great live music for a bit.

Awesome Market

By VirginiaLove2Travel |

WOW!! This place was fabulous. Every type of produce you could want. Pastries, breads, cheeses, sausage, chiles, flowers, clothes, jewelry and I thought the prices were quite reasonable. We bought some stuff and took it back to the condo to grill. It was so fresh and had delicious flavor. The market is amongst art galleries so enjoy those a well.

nothing out of the ordinary

By Up4laughs |

Was hoping for something a bit more unique/interesting but really it's just pretty basic and small. There are some non-food artisan vendors, but really noting too note worthy. Was kinda underwhelming. BEWARE OF PARKING IN THE SURROUNDING NEIGHBORHOODS, I GOT A TICKET.

A nice market

By Sam |

The farmer's market is nice, but as tourists just spending the day in Santa Fe, it wasn't worth spending too much time there. If we were residents, it might have been more appealing, although a lot of the booths seemed expensive.

The bigger draw was the artists tents set up outside of the farmers market. There were maybe 20 tents set up with local artists. There were also some shops/flea markets in the nearby area that would be worth considering.

Cool and yummy

By Daniel M |

The Santa Fe Farmers market on Saturday brings together local produce and crafts and the community. From fresh vegetables, artisan crafts and products and really cool people. Even if you don't buy anything, the people watching is well worth it. I heard it is also held on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.

Great spot for farmers markey

By Allan S |

One of the best markets around. Lively Chile sellers. Produce, cheese, meat. And dairy. Additionally people selling crafts, small food vendors. And Services. Parked nearby but metered . Lots if people and animals. But funds

Perhaps the best farmer's market for the cities size in the US.

By Elliot S |

The produce and products sold here are all from local farmers, producers and vendors, most from within 50 miles of Santa Fe. The offerings are seasonal and come from places you probably never heard of (e.g. Velarde, NM) but you get much more than green or red chile here. Excellent greens in season, root vegetable, humanely raised chicken, fine cheese and bread are just a few of many items available. If your a locavore, patronize this fine cooperative.

Busy, yet small town feel

By pky_pook |

This place was the hub-bub of activity on the Saturday we visited. Many vendors selling crafts, foods, to NM items. In the covered part seems to be primarily harvest (food) items. There is a restroom inside too. Parking can be found on the street (scan or cash payment), as well as some private lots, and a garage too. For 3-5 dollars, it was all rather reasonable. The train runs down to the plaza and fun times can be had by all. We felt safe during our time there.

A typical tourist's market

By TexasGymBo |

We went there out of curiosity and found it to be what we expected. There were many vendors, several who liked to talk about their overpriced goods. All items were very fresh and what you would expect in Santa Fe. We did not buy except my wife bought some lavender face cream that she loves. Otherwise the goods were very expensive. For example, we bought a wreath made of small red chillis near the downtown area for $40. The same wreath at the market was $100.

I love Farmers markets!

By yummy472 |

I love Farmers markets!

I love these kinds of markets because they offer families so many choices of fresh and healthy produce.

I cannot walk by and not go. The added bonus is it was in walking distance.

The vendors were so friendly.

I enjoyed fresh greens of various choices and lots of veggies.

There was a full range of flowers and plants for flower gardener lovers but my garden only contains edible things.

There was a parking lot which I believe was charging people a small fee.

There was a shuttle bus but I didn't use it so I don't have any more details.

Love it!

By peglegtraveler |

My daughter is an organic farmer, so of course we had to check out the market on our last visit. It is a great market with a good variety of food and crafts. One of the best I’ve seen.

Excellent variety of goods

By jtanda17 |

We visited the market on a Saturday morning in October. The fresh produce was abundant as were the baked goods and local crafts/jewelry. Peppers were being roasted and local musicians performed. Tip: be sure and pay for parking as the meters/public parking lots were all being enforced. We extended our visit to Santa Fe by an additional day so we could enjoy the market. We were glad we did and will definitely return.

Great sights, good photo ops and, Oh yeah, good organic food

By Gary B |

If you're staying in a house or condo and need to stock up on some meat, fruits and vegetables, you can't go wrong by stoping by the Farmer's Market in the Railyard District. There's usually live music and about 100 vendors inside and if the weather is good, outside. There are also a couple new permanent shops in the market and some others next door. Check them all out. It is just another Santa Fe experience

Fabulous market. Buy a picnic lunch!

By cherylsmith630 |

This is one of the best Farmers Markets I've seen. I advise taking some time to walk through. Enjoy the sights, sounds and scents. Bought some Cota tea to bring home - fabulous! And the focaccia for a picnic lunch. Artisans with beautiful works as well.

Really enjoyed visiting the market

By cmcfong |

We found some great gifts, reasonably priced and easy fits in the carryons. We also enjoyed the food offered for sale. There is an excellent Craft Market directly behind the Farmers Market and it is well worth visiting.

Que Viva Santa Fe Farmers Market!

By Momma Carole |

I took my two granddaughters ages 6 and 11 to the Farmers Market early Saturday morning. They tried every free sample possible and then proceeded to fill their bags with a variety of veggies. They washed, chopped, and cooked their very own stew that same day. They were both very proud of their accomplishment in the kitchen. It was an amazing day for the three of us!

Interesting art and crafts as well as food-stuffs

By Pippadude |

There were many craft people selling their wares; for example glass blowers and potters had beautiful drinking glasses, bowls, etc. This is a stop on the hop-on/hop-off shuttle that circles Santa Fe at about ten minute intervals. There is food for sale to eat on site, and a regular farmer's market with various fruits and vegetables, honey, etc. There were shops with unique greeting cards, t-shirts, hats, etc.

Don't go

By Eric F |

Basically paid $3 to use the bathroom (parking was $3) nothing else there to do. Very disappointing maybe Saturday's are better couldn't be much worse

Huge Farmers Market

By Genevieve Fynnyx |

Even in October there are tons of fruits and vegetables to buy. It goes on forever. We spent hours here and didn't begin to see it all.

Cool market!

By Mer1001 |

While visiting in Santa Fe we visited the farmers market. I wasn't unite sure what to expect although I figured there would be a lot of fresh produce etc....
The market was so much more! It gives many locals the opportunity to share their artistic creations and culture with the public. Here you will find fresh produce, handmade jewelry, leather goods, home goods, foods etc
The market may not be for everyone but if you have an appreciation for others creative works then check this place out!

Bright, Colorful, Wonderful Way To Spend A Morning!

By Gretchen F |

Come out and support the local farmers and vendors. Beautiful chili pepper arangements, fresh flowers, produce, bakers and coffee and tea. Love the honey from RZs Bees, nice thin consistency which is great to add to honey and drizzle on toast. Many other bee keepers there, you can find the flavor you are looking for (all honey does not taste the same). Really love teas from The Artful Tea. Look for them inside the market. The Organic Apricot Brandy is devine (don't over steep or it will go bitter), and the Mulled Wine Fruit Blend tastes just like its name. Will defintely look for them online.

A great community amenity

By afparker1960 |

We spend Saturday morning at the Market and found some wonderful art, gifts, and food. The people were so welcoming and friendly and loved when we stopped by to talk about their art. A nice variety of booths and a fun place to be a part of the Santa Fe community.

Wonderful at harvest time; food offerings overpriced and mediocre, but not the point

By NormanSantaFe |

We live in Santa Fe and go to the farmers' market many times each summer, including the past 3 weekends. At harvest time (now!) it is VERY CROWDED and parking is VERY DIFFICULT, so we recommend going early (it opens at 7:00 and parking can become problematic by 7:30). But the local offerings are excellent and it is very important to us to support local growers Last weekend we did try it for breakfast, though (burrito and mini-quiche), and both were bland and overpriced. So skip the food-ready-to-eat offerings. But they are not the point and if you go in the next week or two you'll be treated to the smell of roasting green chili wafting through the air!

By Zondra M |

Fruits and vegetables in season. A variety of artists all the time. Organic items , grass fed beef, free range eggs. My favorite is The Lavender Lady. She makes and sells lavender sachets. Always wonderful gifts.

Broad Variety of Fresh Produce and Snacks

By Joel W |

Arived on Saturday (September 6th) about mid-morning. Market was full of shoppers. Plentiful fruits, vegetables, arts and crafts for a full range of tastes. Produce was fresh, attractive to the eye, and samples were delicious. Prices were comparable to other Farmers Markets visited. Area is spread over 2 blocks with traffic control at the cross street. It was easy for us to spend 2 hours at the market. Parking is available in the immediate proximity.

By FergusDad |

We showed up for the Tuesday market, and had the place to ourselves. The main market hall was virtually empty and there were maybe a dozen vendors outside. We have been to the Saturday market, and it was vibrant. This is a total waste of time on Tuesday.

Excellent Farmers Market!

By jima800 |

This is one of the best Farmers Markets in New Mexico.
some of the produce was a little pricey, but this is Santa Fe.
Lots of vendors and good things to buy and to eat!
Lots of Organic produce and delicious food stands...
Great experience, lots of local color and friendly vendors...

Absolutely Amazing

By jwredlabel |

Not only were the outside offerings fabulous, but so were the indoor offerings. I wish I had known about the food available to purchase for breakfast or lunch, it looked and smelled gourmet. We do farmer's markets around the world, and this one was the best ever. The vendors are friendly, the choices amazing, and if I lived here it would become a weekly trip for sure.

Amazing Farmers Market

By mom23jsr |

This was absolutely one of the best farmers markets that I have ever been to! A large variety of produce, meats, cooked foods, baked goods, art, crafts. When it got crowded, people were still very friendly. The smells of from all of the fresh flowers, herbs & produce was so nice on a chilly Saturday morning.

One of Santa Fe’s most entertaining attractions

By Citallwic |

We were interested in buying lace curtains, which are hard to find at this time of year, and a store clerk suggested that we look for some at a farmers market. So, Saturday morning found us at the Santa Fe Farmers Market. Our search for curtains came up dry, but we didn’t much care. This Saturday morning market and the historic Railyard district in which it is staged rank among Santa Fe’s most interesting attractions. After leaving our rental car in the (free) public parking garage just a short walk away, we spent a very entertaining hour browsing the stands and stalls, indoors and outdoors. One of the dried corn arrangements we bought from a crafter now graces our kitchen wall, where we get to admire it every day.

This farmers market is a great place for recreational shopping, that’s for sure. Given that there’s a good deal of duplication and overlap in the wares and foods, plus some significant differences in craftsmanship and quality, shoppers should consider doing a lot of browsing before getting down to serious buying.
