The dune ride was so perfect ! Our driver was Nate and he was not only informative but also very humorous! Our group of 10 appreciated that he picked out a couple of kids from our group to engage with. Super enjoyable outing!

My in laws and I went for my husband and I’s birthday and it was SO fun! We weren’t sure what to expect and ended up having such a blast! The dunes were incredible and our driver/ tour guide was so much fun. He had lots of fun facts and good jokes. Overall this was such a fun experience and activity :)

Tony was our driver and he was awesome. Loved the ride and the view at the top of the dune. Didn't know what to expect but it was tame enough for a child and an elderly person. Wish it were longer, I was sad when it was over. Would recommend friends and family to go!

My wife and I have done this over the past few years and enjoyed it. This year we brought 3 of our grandkids with us. Wonderful experience for our grandkids! They felt it was a highlight of the Michigan trip.

We vacationed in Western Michigan with our families from Washington state. Decided to take my sons in law and grandchildren on the dune ride. Couldn’t have been more pleased. The kids were thrilled. John was a great guide and kept everyone happy and informed. Thank you!

Great fun! Learned a little history and the scenery was spectacular. Driver (Frosty) seemed like he was having as much fun as the riders.

This was so fun!! Nate was our driver and he had such a dry sense of humor and made us feel like we were his only ride of the day. A definite must do if you’re in the area! Just a note, tickets sell fast. I had to buy mine (for a group of 10) at 12:01 am the day they went on sale, but so worth it!

The entire family had a great time. The ride was a lot of fun and the scenery was beautiful. We learned a lot of interesting facts, and it was nice that we got to stop half way through the ride to walk around on the dunes for a few minutes. Our tour guide, Frosty, was funny and made sure everyone had a great time. It was our kids' favorite part of our vacation. We would book another ride if we are ever in the area again.

Truly amazing experience! This was my kids favorite activity of our trip — aged 15/18/20. The only thing they said was they wished it was LONGER! Nate was an exceptional and FUNNY guide. HIGHLY recommend this activity when in the Saugutuck area.

Ride was excellent and informative. So much fun with family. Very organized and cute gift shop. Clean bathroom. Booking was stressful as days were sold out bug after checking multiple times we got a few seats.

The ride was fun and informative. Our guide, Paul was knowledgeable and entertaining. I recommend it highly. Booking the ride could be made easier. I started checking several days in advance and the site showed “sold out” when I called and talked to someone they said to call after 7:00am the day before you want to go. I did and was able to book the ride.

We had a great time on the ride and enjoyed learning about the history of the dunes. Definitely time to rethink some of the comments and “jokes” though. Less talk and more driving would be great but the history lesson was a great addition!

This was such a fun thing to do for families or even couples. Paul was an excellent driver and docent! We learned a lot about the history in this part of Michigan and about the dunes themselves. A must do experience!

Bernie was great! The ride is very fun and I would say pretty child friendly. It’s educational on the land and how it came to be as well as fun and beautiful. As long as your kids like speed, I would highly recommend.

This was a super fun family activity and we would do it again if we visit this area. Everyone in our group enjoyed it. We had 3 adults and 3 kids ranging in age from 4 - 70 years old!

I was looking for something to do that was fun for our grandchildren age 8 and 5, the dune rides got good reviews so thought we would give it a try and it didn’t disappoint. The children loved it so much they were both upset when it was over, they smiled and laughed the whole way round, Nate our driver was very knowledgeable about the history of the dunes and his jokes made us all chuckle. I would definitely recommend this to all.

Super fun and educational! In hindsight, I probably wouldn’t take my little ones (ages almost 3 and 7) again just because the speeds were a bit intense for my liking at times, but otherwise very fun.

Frosty loves to drive and joke around, and the kids all love the driving and the jokes! It's one of my favorite all-time tourist experiences. A little thrills, some Saugatuck history and once-in-a-life time beauty in the dunes. Be sure to book well in advance.

This is like our tenth time doing this with different friends, family and even exchange students! Actually saw deer down in the woods during this particular ride. We always have a blast and will be back again in the near future!

Loved the ride and we had a great driver! We had went to Mac's at Silver Lake last year. Both were equally good. Was surprised at the differences between them, would do both again. Loved all the info on the buried city and how things have changed over the years. Great to see the conservation of the dunes to your area. Was an excellent experience! Thanks

We visit Saugatuck every summer right before school starts and the dune rides are a MUST! We had such a great experience! (Top off your night with a trip to Dairy Daze — the best!!)

Book two weeks in advance to secure your tickets, or purchase early the day before. They sell out quickly!

Lots of fun, for all ages! Just thrilling enough! Driver was entertaining. Dune buggy were cool too. Hold on to your hat!

Saugatuck is my favorite local getaway, and I have been several times, but this was my first experience with Saugatuck Dune Rides. My sister and I (mid 40's) climbed on for the ride of our life. The views were great, including the dead dunes, and the history was even more interesting. Our driver, and guide, Nathan was fun and entertaining; it was clear he has been doing this for 10 years. This is definitely a thrill ride! My sister said she would not be comfortable doing it again, but I absolutely would. The fast speeds, quick turns, and various levels of terrain made it exciting, but you are certainly placing your trust in the driver and their experience with the vehicle and grounds. I would not be comfortable taking small children on, as I had to focus on keeping myself and my valuables in the truck, but I think pre-teen and older would be fine.

Be sure to buy your tickets on line to secure the time slot you want, very easy process.

Fun lighthearted, somewhat corny and yet educational, high speed ride over the Dunes! We were in a buggy with about 12 others. Hold on to your hats! Our driver, John, was an entertaining, pleasant man who made the 45 min ride well worth it. Just do it.

Our family of six reserved seats about 10 days in advance. They fill up quickly, so we were happy to secure spots on our last day of vacation. Our driver was funny and informative, and the trip was well worth it. Of all the things we did during our week's stay, this experience rated in their top two!

We are from the metro Detroit area and a co-worker recommended the Dune Rides. It was my husband, our 3.5 yr old son and myself. Booking and checking in was easy. We had John as our driver. He was full of dad jokes and was blast. Great driver. We had so much fun and the sights were beautiful. We will definitely do it again when we're back in the area.

My boyfriend and I went on the dune tours and had an absolute blast. Learning the history of the dunes and the lost town of Singapore was really cool. You get an absolutely stunning view of Lake Michigan. I would definitely go again and highly recommend this to anyone in the area.

Awesome ride through the Saugatuck Dunes! We learned how the sand dunes were formed and how the sand blew up so high. It was so interesting how the cottonwood trees could grow on top of the sand dunes. Our driver had the best sense of humor making our experience enjoyable!

My autistic daughter had a blast the tour guide was patient and kind and informative and humorous . We learned about the formation of the sand dunes . We took a break and did some exploring got some great panoramic views of the landscape and lake Michigan off in the distance

We had a great time on our ride with Frosty as our guide. Our kids are 21, 20 and 17 and they loved it too! The history of the area is really interesting and it goes a lot faster than you might think! Absolutely recommend if you're in the area but plan ahead to get tickets, they sell out fast. They open up tickets 2 weeks in advance.

THE BEST AND SO FUN!! John was our tour guide and he was GREAT! We kept driving by the sign and finally I was like "i want to do what for our anniversary!" So we booked it and it was so worth it! Kids loved it!

We took some fast turns and hills thrilling the children and stopped to look at the highest point and learned a lot of history thrilling the parents. And both kids wanted to do it again when it was over. Though we didn't do it again that day, we will next time we are in town. Make sure to make your reservations online as day of tickets were not available. We were able to book the following day though.

Great value for GREAT fun! Went on this dune ride with 3 other friends during a girls' weekend. It was a highlight of our trip! We had so much fun. It was just the right length of time. Dan, our guide/driver was not only a great driver (gave us all a great rush of adrenaline), but also very knowledgeable and funny. We all loved the ride. The fun little signs throughout the dunes made me laugh. The beautiful landscape and story about how the dunes came to be what they are today was fascinating and awe-inspiring. Highly recommend for people of all ages.

Our family took a week long vacation to South Haven, and reserved a Dune Buggy ride w/ Saugatuck Dune Rides one morning. It turned out to be the best morning of our vacation! We had three littles - a 1.5 year old, 4 year, and 7 year old - and they all LOVED it. Our driver was the BEST - ask for Frosty! He was a riot, so informative, and hilarious - you could tell that he really loves his job. Cannot recommend Saugatuck Dune Rides enough!

We went with other couples (all in our 70s). It was really fun and educational. We all enjoyed it! Our guide/driver was fun and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend it and don’t wait to book! We went at 9:40 am and it was perfect timing.

We had a blast! Tony was our driver and was so much fun. He hit the turns and hills fast and made the stops memorable. He even had a few lightening rocks that he shared with the kids. It was one of the biggest highlights or our time in Michigan.

This was so much fun!! Did this with family as we were looking for something new to do. Fun, safe, exhilarating ride through the dunes. Takes about 40 mins, with a 10 minute break at the top of dune to take photos and explore dunes a bit. Learn a bit of history, laugh a lot, hold on tight! (Note it is not overly scary or unsafe in any way)

We had a blast on the Dunes! Frosty is an awesome driver - very informative and fun! The drive started right on time and lasted about 40 minutes. Our parents (late 60s and early 70s years old) enjoyed it as much as we did (40 year olds). We felt like kids riding a Rollercoaster.

We took our grandsons who are 14, 13, 10. It was lots of fun! Enjoyed hearing the history of the dunes. My husband has issues with his back and almost didn’t go but he’s glad he did. We sat toward the front and it wasn’t too bumpy.

The dune rides were so fun. It was the perfect mix of history and humor to match the phenomenal views. Dan the dune driver was A-OK. You could see he loved his job and truly shared his passion for Michigan.

Our driver was excellent! I wish I could remember his name. He had moved here from California. He was humorous, and made the ride very memorable for all of us. We were having a sibling reunion after several years, and the Dune rides were extra fun and a great preliminary to dinner out on the town! We were impressed when the pit crew showed up within one minute per our flat tire toward the end.

We took this ride on our first day in Saugatuck. I was afraid it would be too tame and corny for my 4 adult children, all over 21. It was not tame at all and only slightly corny! We all loved it! Bernie was our driver. He managed to pull off all the jokes with just the right amount of wit and sarcasm. We spotted a deer and her fawn at the end of the ride. I highly recommend this!

I've taken this ride before although it has been several years, and I can say it has yet to disappoint! We loved our driver Dan's humor, and the educational lessons he taught us throughout the trip. My husband told me he was shocked at how fast we were immediately going. He figured it'd be fun but he did not assume it would be as thrilling as it was. We brought our 4 year old and 2 year old daughters and they absolutely enjoyed it too. A great way to kick off our trip!

We went on the dune ride with a young man named Frosty. He made the whole thing worthwhile. He was so personable and funny and knowledgeable. He just made the trip that much better.

This was our third ride this summer, each time with a different grand child…and a different driver. All three grandchildren loved it, and all three drivers made it a fun, and unique, experience! Highly recommended!

This was actually the most fun we've ever had in our lives, believe it or not. Much of the fun depends on the driver though too, they make it extra fun and hilarious. We could not stop screaming and laughing, alternatingly, lol.

When I viewed the website ahead of our trip this past weekend, I assumed the "ride" would be leisurely enjoyed by most grandparents and that my 11-year-old son would harass me the entire time due to boredom. Holy air ball! Before even departing the "station" the excitement was palpable as we witnessed a group returning from their voyage with whoops and cheering! After our excellent (and hot) driver, Tony, patiently waited for my family to Chinese fire drill themselves into the preferred configuration for fun, he began what turned out to be an exhilarating, informative, and fun adventure for the whole family. Forty-five minutes of me repeating, "WOW! This is way better than I thought it would be! I'm quitting my job to work for Saugatuck Dune Rides!!! (I wish!) We will definitely be back! Thank you for an amazing ride, Tony!

We had an incredible time experiencing the Saugatuck Dune Rides! Our driver was super friendly and funny too. This was the highlight of our weekend for "VAG Getaway (Vacay Adventure Gals)"! We want to bring our kids up next time and do this too. It was high energy, and they allowed us to get out at the top of the dunes to take photos and videos. We especially loved getting the tidbits of history along the route too!

Paul was a great guide - he made it even more fun! The trip was educational, but I was surprised how many times the ride stopped for educational tidbits. The picture opportunity at the top of the highest dune was much appreciated, though. The 40 minutes went by SUPER fast! I didn’t want it to be over. Great for people of all ages! Definitely will recommend to others as this was one the highlights of our vacation!

The drivers are always very nice folks that provide a lot of educational tidbits. Fun ride through the dunes that my kids really enjoy.

My only suggestion is for drivers to lead the seating on the ride. I am pregnant so was supposed to sit up front per the signs, and also had small children with us so we waited close by the rope to be loaded only to be cut by a group of childless adults who took the front spots. So not only could my kids not see over the rows of adults, but I had to sit in the back because I didn't feel it was appropriate for me to be the one to tackle kicking out the group from the front.

We had a blast on the dune ride! This was our first time, and we would definitely go back. We brought the family, ranging in age from 3 to 60, and everyone had so much fun. Our tour guide provided cool history and had stops along the way! Our favorite part was getting to take a few photos on the highest part of the dunes.

This was so fun! Going fast was really fun for everyone, including my children. When we went fast, a little bit of sand flew into our faces, which didn't bother us because we were wearing sunglasses. However, if we hadn't have been wearing glasses, it would have been uncomfortable and we would have been squinting. The information our guide told us was really interesting. You can book two weeks in advance or the day before if you book early in the day.

We had so much fun celebrating my husband’s birthday at Saugatuck Dune Rides! Ian was the BEST driver! We definitely were not ready for it to end and wish the experience was longer. My 11 year old daughter was begging to go again and was already planning for her birthday trip there even before we exited the buggy! Highly recommend if you’ve never been.

Getting tickets was tough, we finally got some after two times of being in the area from out of town and missing out on them. But it was worth it and a great experience! Great guides and fun thrilling ride through the dunes. I would highly recommend setting a reminder two weeks before you travel to secure tickets or get on website at 7 am day of to see if any spots open up.

My family of 4 + grandma truly enjoyed our Saugatuck Dune Ride experience. Our guide was knowledgeable in sharing the rich history throughout, comedic, and drove in a manner that we had fun, but also felt safe. My only regret is they don’t offer another loop for free! My boys wanted to go again, but it just wasn’t in the budget.

The day my husband and I went was a super hot day, but riding in the dune buggy instantly cooled us off! Our driver, Bernie, was an awesome driver, very knowledgeable and provided a fun and enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this activity! It was great fun!
