There is nothing wrong with this walk. It's a nice thing they have made here. But it's nothing special at all. And most of the way you can't even see the river. But if you are here in the Dells at the strip and you want to get away from the action, this a good way to do it.

This a an easy short walk (worth doing). On a busy Saturday afternoon we took our stroll down this path and saw views of the Dells lake. The rocks along the edges of the water were interesting. Their were tourist boats that were making their way up the lake. There were some great picture moments.

Very nice walkway over looking the river. Very will kept and maintain. Also made it a great place to take photos of the river bank and changing of the trees to fall colors

The Riverwalk is a nice 1/4 mile path along the edge of the river. Along the way are markers telling about the history of the city and the people.

Nice area to walk. Very short distance. A few stairs to climb. A couple of great places to take pictures and enjoy nature.

The scenery is so nice, and it feels good to find a bit of quiet away from the crowd right in downtown Dells. It's pretty in any season.

It wasn't a long walk, but it was still nice. My Boyfriend and I went there after our anniversary dinner date :). We took evening pictures and it was pretty romantic. It was really quiet so we didn't have to wait for people to move which was nice. There is also a pub that overlooks the river. If you are wanting a more one-on-one eating there is many seating areas for a little picnic a long the trail. I would recommend this trail.

If your in the downtown area, you may as well take the time to do the scenic walk. It's short, but sweet!

This appears to be a work in progress. It runs along the part of upper dell of the Wisconsin River. It seems to be nicely done with a wide walkway and many benches for seating.

Easy and enjoyable, short, walk for after a meal. Views somewhat blocked by trees. A nice place to spend some of your evening in the town.

It was cold when we walked the River Walk but it was nice, nothing too much. just some informational boards along the way & a pretty view of the river.

The River Walk in downtown Wisconsin Dells is a very nice way to get acquainted with the area. It is an easy walk and has places to sit with one area having a tabletop for playing checkers.

I got to the Dells before most things opened so I had a chance to stroll down the Riverwalk. There were a few people, but it was a calm and relaxing morning. There are signs with that talk about the local history and it was a great way to take a few minutes for myself.

The Riverwalk offers good views, just don't look down because it is a nauseous 30 plus foot drop below. The river walk is brief and short, however there are other areas in the vicinity to walk, including the downtown to compliment the short walk.

Nice place for a walk along the river. Great scenery, lots to take pictures of and quiet.
Our pupp loved it too.

Walk along the frozen river in December, lots of parking nearby during this time of year, enjoyed the walk and saw a train pass by, otherwise not much to look at this time of the year

Several chances to view the Wisconsin River from beautiful overlooks along the River Walk path. Cobblestones and a gentle roll to the path gives the River Walk it's unique version of a stroll.Observe wild waterfowl as they land and take off from the River, you might even be lucky enough to see a bald eagle soar above the water or landing in a nest high above. Discovery awaits you!

Nice clean walkway. Enjoyed the informative markers along the way. Would definitely do this again, on our next trip.

Relaxing, beautiful, and quite. A nice way to get off the strip of noise, crowds, and barrage of sales.

This was a nice view of the river and there was many places to sit and relax if you needed to along the way.

Love walking along this scenic boardwalk anytime of year but especially vibrant in the Fall. Awesome backdrop for fall foliage photos and never seems to be too crowded. Nice benches to rest and have an intimate conversation. Well maintained and a pleasure to stroll along during the brisk fall days.

This was just as described/shown. Very pretty, plenty of shaded areas and places to sit and rest if you need to. Lots of historical nuggets to read along the way, and a picnic area as well. Even on a 90° day weekend we’re comfortable with some stops in the shade and water. The path has an uneven texture so older folks may have difficulty.

What a lovely place for a stroll! We wandered around the paved path overlooking the water while we waited to take a boat tour later. The entrance to the Riverwalk is right by the tour ticket booth. The Riverwalk is free. There are lots of benches, and it was shaded in the afternoon sun. We noticed that there was a charge to park in the Restaurant parking lot, but there was another lot by the entrance to the Riverwalk that did not charge -- at least in May.

Our best experiences were the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack show and eating at the Paul Bunyan Cook Shanty, but we also enjoyed the Original Duck Boats and the Tommy Bartlett Ski show!

Short easy walk along the river. We did this while waiting to ride the Upper Dell Boat ride. I wouldn't make a special trip to do this but well worth the walk if you are already there. It costs nothing.

This Riverwalk is short & sweet. Although the Walk really isn't very long, there are a few benches along the route that one can stop at.

nice bar nice people and great view bar tender was friendly and helped us decide what we wanted to drink happy hour had some good choices on beer

We walked down to the restaurant on the north side of the path and back. It's a nice way to see the River Valley below and get off the crazy busy streets of downtown.

A gem right along the river on the edge of Wisconsin Dells. Accessible which is nice for strollers and wheelchairs.

This really is a nice walk however they need to clean up some of the trees and bushes along the river side so you can actually see the river a little bit better especially where they have benches and seats to sit at you don’t get much of a view but still worth a nice walk along the river

The scenery is fanstastic on this walk. There is a hill that is a bit steep, so beware. Wonderful signs are posted on the walk that explain some of the history of the Dells, and I enjoyed very much reading those.

It is a pretty walk along the river, with a beautiful view of the river. They are adding to the end away from the city, with two bridges and more pretty views.

Short trail along the river you can stroll down and relax on a few benches perched here and there. Nice break from crowds of main shopping street. Shade available as you stroll. No restrooms. A restaurant off the path.

Very nice walk to the downtown Dells from our hotel with some historical plaques along the way, but only 2 blocks long. Wish it was longer.

This area gives you a chance to have a nice walk while staying on a $0 budget. I found this to be a great way to kill some time before or after a boat tour leaving from downtown. It isn't free and "cheap" or boring (unless your a child) it is truly free and a nice relaxing walk.

It's a very nice short walk, so doable for anyone.
It's totally paved, and goes from The Vue Boutique Hotel to downtown.
You can see the Wisconsin River, and also watch the trains go by.
Very beautiful at sunset.
They have at least one bench to sit on if you want to enjoy the view and fresh air.
Parking is apparently free until April, as posted on the meters, so no need to park in any business parking lot.
Right now, they have Christmas decor up, which is a bunch of Christmas trees that show each sponsor.
If you need a bathroom while enjoying the Riverfront, there are public bathrooms right at the corner inside the old Wizard Quest, downstairs.

My boyfriend and I had a very nice walk here. The only downside is that it is a very popular photography spot so we had to stop a couple times and wait for wedding and engagement pictures. It can be quite peaceful and was beautiful at dusk.

We were walking down the main street and stumbled upon this, we walked down to check it out. The views are very nice and there is a little history to read about.

Lovely view and peaceful. Nice place for a walk along the river with your family. Nice landscaping. Love it!

This is a nice little easy walk. Will learn a lot about the Dells. Worth the walk and if you want you can stop and have a drink on or play a game of checkers.

Loved the Riverwalk - very scenic and enjoyable. The only downside is it's very short. I really wish it were extended for a longer walk.

If you are able to take this walk do so. We had a beautiful day and not many people taking advantage of the trail. It is paved and gives you beautiful views of the river as you walk along it.

This was something we only heard about this year and so missed out on our trip to the dells last year. So glad we came across info on it because we loved the walk and the views were just beautiful.

We parked for free on the street and took a leisurely stroll on the riverwalk. Since the leaves were falling from the trees we had a clear view of the river. There were a few plaques to stop and read. This is a nice place to enjoy before a meal to whet your appetite or after a meal to aid in digestion. The entire walk to and from our car took under 30 minutes.

A great way to walk off a meal. A short walk along the river affords some awesome views and works off a few calories.

The town of Wisconsin Dells is quite bustling so having a short diversion that is effortless and relaxing is welcome.

Steps behind the busy commercial area is a short scenic walkway along the Wisconsin River. Great place for photos and a leisurely walk.

A beautiful place to stroll freely on the Upper Dells part of the Wisconsin Dells. Very picturesque and serene and has lots of nice information boards along the paved path. Entire river walk is handicap accessible as well. There are even benches along the path and a nice small area with few picnic benches. There is also a nice restaurant on the riverwalk to sip on a beer and have a nice meal overlooking the Upper Dells.

This was nice but not best river walk I have ever did we turn around half way though When my camera is not constantly working it's not very interesting

A chance to walk along the river and see the sights. Very high at the start with a great view of the river, etc. Easy to get to from the main street and it's an easy walk. The sights along the river are beautiful.

What a pretty walkway above the water! Interesting to find since I’ve been to the Dells numerous times, and never saw this. It isn’t your typical Dells find! At one end there is a park area with benches to sit, and the other end comes out at a place of business. It’s not a long walk, but it is what you make of it. You could meander all day if you chose to, or not. It’s lovely here!

I got early from my motel and ran through the downtown area and accidentally came across the river walk. I got on it and ran to the other end and then back to my motel. Very nice path to walk or run on. Would not recommend after dusk, could go through some sketchy parts.

Not much to review on this. Enjoy a free relaxing walk through the downtown river area. Great way to enjoy nature an excercise.

Yes, the Riverwalk is short, but it does funnel into a sidewalk on a quiet residential street. The informational signs did a nice job explaining the history of the area, and if you are into geocaching there are several in the area.

Just a lovely scenic walk along the river. Paved and fenced area. Lovely for any age and easy with benches and rest areas along the way.

A nice short walk viewing along the riverwalk. A nice resturant along the walk.....good food. A nice break from the downtown.

Don't miss this beautiful, scenic walk along the river. It is quiet, relaxing, and the most gorgeous scenery you can get without being on a boat. Benches along the route add to the charm and make it easy to stop for a moment.

The Riverwalk restaurant had happy hour from 3 to 6. They had $2 rail drinks and a dollar off beer. We had a vodka and tonic and a beer for $6. We also had the beer cheese soup which was less than $4 - very cheesy. We then walked the river walk along the Wisconsin River. It was an usually beautiful day in Wisconsin for February - 60°. The walk is not strenuous and it's not real long. In fact, I wish it was longer. It's also a short walk to town and you can visit the many, many shops in Wisconsin Dells. Be aware that off season, more than 1/2 of the shops are not open. On the Riverwalk there are signs along the way so you can learn more about the history of Wisconsin Dells.

No too difficult, but nice and scenic walk above Wisconsin river. All takes about 40 min of slow walking.

Delightfully designed, constructed and maintained path, history signs, benchs, hand rails, and vegitation.
Shady spots, scenic views, quiet walkway from busy street
Thank you to all who created it, maintain it and thanks for sharing it with all of us

This is a nice paved path along a section of the Wisconsin River, close to downtown. It's not a very long path, but has some places you can stop and sit along the way if you want to take in the views.

short wonderful view of the river---very modern and clean
winds from the old downtown along the river close to shops and restaurants---we walk it each time we visit the dells

in The Mighty Wisconsin Dells Jungle a cheese-maker sleeps tonight, on the riverwalk a duck swims tonight

We walked through a few times. Very cool, peaceful. Nice place just a few steps away from the bustling downtown.

The walk is short and easy and offers some very nice view on the river.Parking is nearby but needs to be paid for which is not bad when you combine this with a stroll through town or other activities in downtown Dells. A good, easy and quick way to get away from all the crazyness that the Dells have to offer.

Twofold benefits: first it provided an escape from the downtown mobs of people, and secondly we had the chance to take in the scenic & natural wonders of Wisconsin Dells.
Our initial concern was that it would be a walkway extending out from the land, hanging over the river itself but that turned out to not be the case--we were safely on firm ground the whole time.

A nice way to get away from the chaos of the Dells. A walk along the Wisconsin River. The problem is that you don't get great views,

I have dined here numerous times with groups and on outings. While living in the Dells it was my favorite place to go, now when I visit I always have to stop at the Riverwalk. Such a great view with reasonable prices on food. Found that some of the food was hit or miss but the pizza and burgers are always good.

Very nice and people respectful using it..recommend it as very pretty and clean well kept. .....try it.

Its not a long walk but very picturesque which is why we take it every visit. Got some awesome recording of my daughter (the bird-whisperer) communicating for 10 minutes with a cardinal at dusk.

We spent an afternoon enjoying the weather, shops and had a nice lunch at on of the many restaurants Riverwalk had to offer.

I LOVE the Riverwalk Its a break from the cheesy town one block over. I like all of the Dells but this is a nice and close break from the insanity.

This is a short quiet walk along the river with some signage along the way giving some local history. Nice break from the mania of the waterparks.

We took the walk while waiting for our table at one of the river-view restaurants. The seating along the walk was sparce for those with limitations, but a nice addition in the historical alcove. The high-season river traffic somewhat ruins your natural view of the river, but overall, a lovely evening experience with the sunset over the river.

This was a pretty typical walk along a river except you have some nice views of the Dells cliffs, can read some local history and its clean. The walk is paved and is easily traversed.

Very nice design and setup - the only issue is the riverwalk is too short. Probably won't go again, but it is very nice and well lit.

The walk is very nice but I found the information even better. There are kiosk like signs along the route that are very informative. It is worth the walk just to learn more about the area if you don't have an understanding already. Nothing earth shattering but would still recommend it. Fun little walk to get away from all the Dellzy stuff!! :)

Scenic views of the river. Interesting information provided along the way. Wish it were longer. Nice way to escape some of the bustle of the sidewalks downtown. I wouldn't drive a long distance to do this but if you are already in town - it is a very pleasant stroll.

We did this walk today but was kinda disappointed cuz it wasn’t that long. However the path was very well maintained and the views were very beautiful. Just wish it was longer. But there are benches to sit down and relax which would be very nice for ones that are older

What a gem! This walk is so scenic it's amazing! The historical markers really add to the significance and the walkway itself is so well kept. It's a "must do" when in the Dells.

Level sidewalk along the river, in the shade with views of the Wisconsin River. A pleasant walk to the marina and the Vue Hotel.

The 'walk' gives you a chance to stretch your legs and get a better view of the river, but I would like to see the area more vibrant with flowers and well maintained shrubs.

The Riverwalk was not only a very handy way to get from my hotel to the downtown Dells, it was also a scenic walk featuring beautiful views of the Dells! There is a very nice pub right along it, and several nice spots to sit and picnic.

Enjoyed watching the sunset from this walkway (near The Vue). Also heard some music playing in the distance and checked out an outdoor concert at the River Terrace.

One of the best place for city and River view,
I love to go there again, there is boat ride, Please do that.
Perfect place for summers

We stayed at the river inn. Took this path at least ten times to downtown. Beautiful walk along the river

Beautiful scenery. Fairly accessible. Not as crowded as some areas in the Dells. Very close to the downtown shops.

Very quiet and peaceful walk. Has some interesting points of interest. Bring a jacket as the wind coming off the river is a bit cool in October.

Seriously! We were so cold in this Spring walk! Beautiful views. Places to stop and to look out on the river. Amazing.

Good fish sandwich, great selection of tap beer. I was early on a Friday and place was almost empty but started to pickup as I left. Their menu is pretty large and I will be back to check out some other on-trays in the future.

Beautiful walk to the Riverwalk bar and beyond overlooking the Wisconsin River. You can watch the boats take off on their tour to the upper dells sites.

Our hotel was by this walk.. and it took us into the Main Street. It was beautiful and peaceful but not very long. Walked it about 10 times lol

Beautiful stroll along the river (even on a drizzly day) with interesting history boards scattered throughout. I learned quite about about the area.

Pleasant place get away from the crowds and stretch your legs after a boat ride.
Grab a couple of water Pokemon and hatch an egg or two.

Drove into the Main St. area in the morning to check it out. Was surprised to find everything was closed at 9:30-10am! We stumbled upon the Riverwalk, paid for parking and went on down. It was a nice spot, informative signs along the way. It is a very short walk, but was peaceful.

The Riverwalk was much shorter than I had expected, but the view was very pretty, especially towards the end. It was something nice to do to be added into our stroll around the downtown Dells.

This is one free way to see the Wi River, the rock formations, the boat cruises and maybe wildlife for a few minutes and a short walk. There is space for family pictures on rocks in a safe area. The path has been improved and this stop doesn't take too long. There's not much to see on a cloudy or rainy day. There is no rain cover at all. Kids will run the length of sidewalk so use caution. It isn't narrow, so people can pass. The only thing to do is walk to the end and walk back. I imagine a person with a stroller could be out there too.

We needed to walk off breakfast and saw the sign for Riverwalk and decided to check it out. We were glad we did. There is plenty of parking and it's about a 1/2 mile round trip walk. It is very pretty and was glad there were no leaves as I think it would be hard to the river once all the foliage is in full bloom. We were glad we had our winter coats in the car as we did this walk around 8:00 am on Saturday! But it was nice and relaxing. (Christa)

When in Wisconsin Dell's you must get out and walk around. The beauty of the rivers and lakes is stunning when you get up close. This is a simple walk, but worth the view.

Beauty and relaxing🙏 short walk but worth it:) and nice fall colors and restaurants near buy. Free walk

The Riverwalk is a nice, not too long walk, with beautiful scenery along the river. There are places to sit along the walk.

The river walk was extended to now go about a half mile from the Main Street in the Dells above the Wisconsin River. No cost but you will likely need to pay to Park if not staying downtown. Chess/checker boards at one point. Good break from downtown huddle and bustle.

It was a nice walk down a part of the river. We liked that it was also educational having things to read. It was wonderful that there were also many places to sit along the way. We thought it was also a nice touch that there were checkerboards on the tables in the sitting area.

Beautiful short walk along the river. We were already downtown shopping, so we decided to go check it out. If you are already downtown, it is right off of there.

Walking along the river; mostly shaded; easy access off and on from main street; easy parking; relaxing

Lovely views, paved& nice photo opportunities. A nice and free way to enjoy nature in the Dells. We enjoyed it in the off season. A few people were out. We parked and walked from a meter down town.

Very well taken care of trail. They were installing a place where photographs will hang that seemed very nice. We went on a morning stroll and took some pictures of the river. It was a very nice short walk.

Great little pathway to enjoy the scenery that the Dells have to offer. Peaceful and a beautiful snapshot of what the Dells are about.

Very nice waterview walk. You are above the river which is nice. The path is slightly downhill but paved and well lit. Watch out for the mosquitos though.

Very nice scenery of the river. It is better when you come in the fall when the colors are changing. Be sure to put this on your to do list when visiting the dells.

Really pretty walkway with several places to sit and enjoy the view. Nice to stroll down after dinner downtown.

This is a walk along the river where the tour boats embark. In the fall of the year, the trees are colorful and the temps are great for a stroll.

Quiet getaway from the Downtown. Path along the River goes for almost 3/4 mile. Many benches along the path to sit. One area has two tables with checkerboard tops. Very nice

My wife and I both really enjoyed it, numerous photo opportunities. 1/4 mile walk with history boards along the way.

This gives you a beautiful view of the river and isnt siper long to walk. I actually wish it was a little longer.

Loved the nice walk and the information signs along the way with history of the Dells. Nice place to walk after dinner.

We love to go in the fall and see all the colors on the river, but it is a wonderful little quite hide away anytime of year. It is close to the down town area so when you need a break you can just head over and enjoy the view.

I’m not sure how this gets so many 5 star reviews… It is a sidewalk along the river with some signs. A nice walk, sure. But not really a 5 star activity, especially for a family with kids.

The river walk displays many views of the formations found in the Dells. It offers an easy walk along the top of the cliff; however, there are some stairs to walk down to the river. Some areas near town offer an elevator to the lower landings of the river

The Riverwalk is lovely but it's pretty short. You end up in some weird part of the Dells by a hotel with a restaurant called the Vue. So then you turn around and walk back. But it's lovely and shady and gives you something to do for 10 minutes.

Nice little break during a road trip through the Dells. Very short trail, but shaded and paved., with resting spots along the way. Info about the history of the area along the path and scenic views of the water to watch boats also.

I guess I was expecting more than what there was. The views are ok but nothing spectacular. If you are looking to stretch your legs, it is a good place to walk.

This will add greatly to the Dells' public access to the water (even if only looking at it from above). For all the beauty of the Dells, most of the river is sandwiched between private properties, and the public access is scant. There are natural areas along the river (Like Dells of the Wisconsin River State Natural Area), but access to the water is prohibited there as well, due to the sensitivity of the area. So this Riverwalk at last gave people some view of the river and the way to enjoy it. Unfortunately, the walk is fairly short - the Dells needs more like this one. It's right ot all the attractions downtown, so it's easy to get here after you visit all the other stuff.

It was a beautiful walk. There are tables with a checker board painted on them. It was just right. Good exercise

We took a detour off the beaten path and did the Riverwalk to dinner at the other end. Interesting history posts and beautiful scenery!

Even though part of the walk is under construction, it is still a lovely walk. Also, handicap accessible, so my mother could use her wheelchair and enjoy it as well.

My husband and me spend one night at the Dells and ended up taking a nice evening walk after a great dinner.
There are a few spots where pictures can be taken. Everything around is kept clean which I really liked.

It was a nice way to view the Dells and a nice place to walk after a meal. We took several pictures along the way. I wish it was longer.

The riverwalk is a nice little stroll when you just need a little downtime from all the craziness that is the Dells.
Beautiful views dotted with stopping points and signs with information about the Dells area and history.
Very informative and beautiful walk.

As the title says the walk and view is good and the walk is rather short. You will see a short section of the river / dam / bridges and other things. Not sure it’s worth driving into town to do only this as you have to pay for parking.

A very short walk along the river. There are a few plaques along the trail that give you the history of the area. There is a restaurant/bar overlooking the river. (We didn't go there, but maybe something to check out another time) Easy access from the main street going through the downtown area, just next to the MagiQuest.

We went at 0800 and there was hardly anyone out. The views were amazing and the water was so calm. Recommend going early before all the boats get running.

We spent about 20 minutes walking this paved trail along the Wisconsin River. There are a few panels along the way telling about the history of the area. There is a nice view of the river but nothing spectacular.

Lovely walk along the river with beautiful views and informative narratives about the history of the Dells.

Nice little walk with a scenic overlook of the river and bluffs. Easy access to the stores and handicapped accessible.

This is a short walk alongside the river. It is absolutely beautiful! We walked the path during the day, at sunset, and at night. Each time we found something new and beautiful to admire. They had benches set up along the way so you could look over the river and they also had a few checker boards too. In addition, there were signs with interesting facts on them. If you take the time to read them, you can actually learn a lot about the town. Also, if you look closely at the railing, you will see people's names, dates, and phrases scratched into it. It was so cute to read some of them. It seemed like a tradition to etch something into the railing while there. So, my girlfriend and I took part and ended up scratching our initials into the railing. It was really fun.

If you enjoy walking put on your tennis shoes and go. The scenic is beautiful. The best thing about it, it is free and healthy.

I was driving through to South Dakota and stopped here for a break. The views of the river are pretty, but the walk isn't very long. It was nice, but I was hoping for more.

Right there off of the 100 block just across the bridge into town behind Ripleys. Went out of season so found plenty of parking behind there. Relaxing, fresh air, easy access, well marked, plenty of benches, even a chess table and signage about the area. The Dells can seem a little full on at times so this is a nice relaxing diversion and as others have said a pleasant way to walk off a nice meal.

We ate at the River Walk Pub and walked the river walk after dinner. It's a nice walk along the river and beautiful scenery.

What a nice paved walkway by the river. Peaceful place to get away from the hustle-bustle downtown, yet nearby. Lots of places to sit and enjoy nature. Only complaint: it is too short.

Me and my Husband are walkers. Hoping to get in a nice stroll. It's pretty and well maintained, with signs and posters of the history of the area. It's way too short if you are trying to get your steps in. But if you want to get away from the shopping and site seeing for a while, you might want to check this out.

This is worth the walk along the river. You can see the dam and people fishing. Very scenic with parks along the way to stop and view or grab a drink in the outdoor pub.

What a wonderfully peaceful spot in the middle of town. A great place to unwind after spending time running around to all the tourist shops that the kids dragged us to.

We had walked up Broadway and happened to see the sign.
We not only strolled but we stopped several times to take pictures
Everything was clean without litter..

Nice quiet walk on a fall day. Restaurant had limited hours. Not very long and had some incline on way back to main shop area.

I visited this with a friend and thought it lead to a park but is doesn't. This is a short little walk back to a parking lot, it does look over the river.

The city did a nice job in putting this together. Could be a little longer if you ask me. Not sure if I would want to be down there after dark, a little isolated if you ask me. Nice durning the daytime.

Located by the dam on Broadway, they have a fresh new walkway along the river upstream. We saw 3 squirrels scampering about in an oak tree by the trail. The view is fantastic. Lots of kids and family. Great peaceful place.

This is a very pretty walk, seeing the river all the different animals around which surprised us that you would see deer during the day.Kids loved it

Very pleasant walk, only takes 15 minutes or so, can easily be combined with seeing the downtown, ..

It doesn’t take a huge amount of time to do,approximately 40 minutes total. Quite the scenery! We took pictures and waved to the boat tours.

Wonderful walk and view of the river. Nice atmosphere and clean! My son loved to watch the ducks in the water!

Not much here to look at, the river and the side of a hill leading to a bar (which was a good bar) and then along the highway to another motel with a bar that was not at all busy. The few signs along the walk explaining the history of the river and city was interesting, however..

Due to the other sidewalk being closed we've had to walk the river walk to and from our hotel and downtown. Lovely view. The sidewalk is more textured so not totally level and holds puddles when it rains.

If you need a break from crowded main street the Riverwalk is a close retreat. Everything is paved so easy to bike or push strollers. The mid-morning was warm. Several spots for my teens to stop for photos.

On our first day in the Dells, we decided to take this walk. We had no idea where it would lead or what we might see, but it was a very peaceful and beautiful walk after the 7 hour drive to get here.

The Riverwalk was very scenic, but the Riverwalk Pub was excellent. The Reuben Sandwich was probably the best I have ever had. Service was excellent and inside the pub is beautiful, all wood and with a great view of the water.

this is the best place to hang out unwind play some games have some drinks and listen to some great music!!

My wife and I took this one evening after dinner and while it isn't anything fancy, and the trees obscure part of the view, it is well constructed and has interesting historical signs. Great view of the river at the end...good place for a picture.

While my family and I were on vacation in the dells. We decided to explore the riverwalk. It had beautiful views come up peaceful and quiet. Not too crowded so we are able to stop for pictures without interrupting anybody's flow. They had a lot of really great picnic spots so me and the kids decided to unpack for lunch and sit in the shade for a while while taking in the view. If you have a few minutes to spare and don't mind a small hike it's definitely worth it

Wife and I walked this ~¼ mile path along the river. The Riverwalk is easy to travel upon and the scenery along it is enjoyable. However, while you get some beautiful views of the river and surrounding area, there isn't a lot more to the trek than a really nice paved path and some informative signs. Does appear to be well-maintained and kept clean as well, which added to the enjoyment of the experience.
Worth the time and effort if you're already in the area, but we probably wouldn't have experienced it if we weren't already staying at one of the nearby hotels.

Great detour from the typical tourist shops on the street. Nice views, informative signs. Worth the time.

The views of the River were magnificent and peaceful. The photos along the Riverwalk were very interesting and informative.

If you need to stretch your legs a bit, this short walk is easy and scenic. There is free parking close by, plus metered parking on the street. The views of the river are pretty and you'll learn some history about the area too! A great spot to kill some time if you're waiting for a boat trip or other event.

1/4 mile of relaxing walking, we truly enjoyed our stroll down this river walk. We had been doing a lot of walking so we didnt’ mind this being short.

This was actually a shorter walk than I had envisioned but still pleasant. The views of the Wisconsin river offers some unique scenery and there are some benches along the way.

If you have the time, and want to get away from the busy downtown or waterpark area, take a stroll up the Riverwalk! The views are awesome, in all seasons of the year!

This is a very brief walk along the river, right in the downtown area. There are a few informative signs that tell the history of the area. Super easy, short, and informative.

The Riverwalk is a newly developed walkway along the river for about the length of a block. It is shady in part and sunny on the bridge area. There are seating areas and a restaurant above. Very pretty for an evening stroll.

This is a nice little walk along the river. You can look down and see some of the tour boats. Best of all, it's peaceful, and not so crowded as the main street can be. Benches for relaxing.

The Riverwalk is paved and wheelchair accessible. Big Look Out site right at the bridge going into town. It is a lovely stroll overlooking the river/Dells. Along the tree-lined way, are tables and benches. A railing provides protection so it is family friendly. It goes for quite a distance and used by bikers as well as walkers and those with strollers, etc. Parking is free and located in Wisconsin Dells behind the River Boat Tours and Ripley's. Worth the time to just stroll along, relax after a day of hectic tourist attractions.

Parking if you're enjoying a numbers of right there fun places. A view of the near city dam where people fish. We didn't actually walk but it looked neat.

The main part of the riverwalk is actually quite short. You start on Main St and venture downhill to the right until you reach a hotel. You make a left turn and there is a bridge that does not look like there is much to see beyond. We came early morning just at sun rise. Really pretty reflection of the shoreline in the river.

Nice place to take a rest. We visited off peak, and this was a nice place to take a little rest between attractions.

Good but very short walk during a drive westward. It was still chilly in October but good place to stretch our legs. I would like to come back here and do a boat ride when it is warmer

It is not real long but goes along the River so nice views. Benches occasionally to sit. Toward the middle a little area with tables to have a picnic lunch. The one end starts right from down town. There are shady areas here and there, so a chance to get out of the sun.

This walk is beautiful views.of the river and peaceful. It had plenty of shade and lots of places to sit.

This a nice quiet place to walk along the river at the Dells and take in some of the veiws of the river at your own pace.

Loved the prime rib sandwich, added cheese, mushrooms and onions and my hubby loved the broasted chicken! Medium priced, great view and service, excellent food.

It was a nice experience, the displays along the way were informative, interesting and even a bit surprising. The history of Wisconsin Dells was much richer than I expected. The walk wasn't long enough, though.

Nice wooden walkway along the river. Benches to rest along the way if needed. Nice photo stops along the walk.

worth checking out if you're in town for an ice cream or to visit a tourist attraction, or just need a little break from tourist stuff. Perhaps we missed some of it?

Great signage complement this stroll along the high banks of the Upper Dells. There are plenty of benches and low walls to sit on while you look at the great views and read the interesting info about the history of tourism in the Dells and the important people and events.

Great romantic walk. Not to far of a stroll. We went Oct 16 & the bar at the end was closed. All in all a very nice walk.

Just a very nice and clean little walk. Great photos were taken. Enjoyed watching the Christmas decorations being installed along the way. Will be even a nice evening walk.

It was a bit chilly but it was a nice short flat walk- worth doing. Downtown this time of year is closed Sunday to Thursday so plan accordingly

Dont go out of your way to go to this. It's very short and not all people make it out to be. We walked it and when we got to the end a few minutes later we said that's it?

We walked along the River Walk they built along the Upper part of the Dells from downtown. Very scenic stroll looking at the Wisconsin River just above the dam. Very quiet and maintained walkway with history markers along the way.

A short, flat walking path along the river near downtown. Several places to stop, sit, and enjoy the views. There were beautiful wildflowers on the other side of the railing that added to the experience. A nice walk after dinner or with your coffee or ice cream.

My wife and I walked the Riverwalk at Dusk on Labor day weekend. Very nice walk along the water, Stamped concrete, very luxurious. Would recommend to anybody looking to get out of the rat race of the Dells for a few minutes.

We headed out to the Riverwalk to see some Christmas lights. The first tree you see is really beautiful and down the path are other little decorated trees. It's a nice short walk, so don't plan on spending alot of time.

Very nice view of the lake and fauna, There is a nice restauant at the southern entrance Not easily accesible for the handicapped.

The completed additions really make this a beautiful walk. The walkway is wide and scenic. There are structures with historical information on what makes the Dells a tourist center. They cover many subjects, with interesting pictures and stories. The views over the railings and from the bridges are awesome. The best part is it is free, in the center of town and close to many other activities around town.

We enjoyed this quiet walk off the busy downtown street. Informational placards about the history of the area and views of the river along this shady route were a bonus.

What a gem in downtown Wisconsin Dells. The riverwalk showcases the beauty of the river, rock and pines. Located just off of the main strip, it's easily accessible and a way to get away from the crowds and see another side of the Dells.

We are staying at The Vue (formerly known as River Inn) so we have made this trek several times. Peaceful. Short. Safe. Historic signage and excellent views along the way. Do it.

Nice little walk and the view of the river was pretty at sunset. It's quite high up so don't look over if you don't like heights.

Great way to walk off a nice evening meal when downtown. Interesting to view Wisconsin River and see more of the downtown riverfront.

This walkway has a smooth surface and there are plenty of benches to take a break and enjoy the view. There are also several informational markers with a lot of the local history.

Sort of a "Goldilocks" of walks--not too short, not too long, just right. And very picturesque surroundings--a fitting place for a wedding proposal, as was the case for a young couple we met during our walk (and who asked us to take their picture)!

It's free and it's very pretty. If you have time do this! It is a nice change from the tourist trap of the Dells.

If you want a relaxing walk and beautiful scenery this is for you. It is just the right length and a romantic setting.

My family and I walked along the path enjoying the views of the river and reading the history placards that dot the path. Very pleasant!

The Riverwalk has been updated with new signage and handrails.
There was a dedication on this Riverwalk during the First Annual Kilbourne City Live Free Music Festival (google search this new festival... it is worth attending!).
The Riverwalk is a quick escape to the REAL beauty of the Dells area just a few steps away from the touristy main street, similar to how Niagara Falls (Canadian Side) is just a short walk away from all the touristy stuff.
You can see some of the real beauty which put the dells on the map as a tourist destination (for free).
To find this place from busy Broadway Street...head to Ripley's Believe it or Not and Wizard Quest. You will see the entrance to the Dells Riverwalk just to the West of Wizard Quest (across the street from Eddy Street).

We thought we had found the River Walk and according the description it must have been the one. However, we couldn’t find the sign “Riverwalk”.
The next day we asked an operator of the Wisconsin Dells tours where it was located. It was downtown. We had been wrong!
We got there when it started to be dark. There was a large parking lot where we were able to park and we walked all along the real Riverwalk. It was impressive!
First we saw the Wisconsin Dells boat docked. Then we walked by the river. It was quite pleasant and there were metal barriers following the river. Some trees were illuminated, others were not. I saw a lot of beautiful flowers.
There were still boats on the river. A pub called RiverWalk had lots of customers. They too enjoyed the view on the river!
At a certain place there were tables to play chess. I liked that! It was a worthwhile trek!

Very gorgeous view of the river, clean and well taken care of. nice area for some pictures to be taken.

We always enjoy this short walk along the river. There is a seating area about half way through to enjoy the scenery and relax.

The Riverwalk is a wonderful addition to the downtown area. Too many people think of waterparks when they think of the Dells. The Riverwalk is FREE and it gives visitors a glimpse of the REAL Dells.

We loved the River Walk, stunning views of the Wisconsin River, beautiful park and a great band shell! Perfect spot at sunset!!

The Riverwalk is a beautiful walking path along the river. It is beautiful and there are benches and information plaques along the walk.

The riverwalk has great views of the river and all the action of the boats going through. It's also a nice little area to get away from the crowds for a few minutes and eat all of the treats that you've bought downtown

While the atmosphere should have been awesome, a rustic log cabin right off Broadway on the river, it was just ok. The bar stools were very unstable and when we traded one out, the server said ok, and put it right back at the bar. The beers were cold. That was great, our bartender/server was very nice, although my h of the time he was too busy with other problems (not bartending) to give us service. The food was just adequate. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and it was blah. Nothing great, but the fries were terrific. The wings were ok, the peanut sauce was too thick and was a little boring. The two sticks of celery were pathetic.

Pretty area right in the center of downtown Dells. Great views and a place to get away from the busy street. Pet friendly too.

You definitely get a home town feeling walking out down the Riverwalk and watching the boats, especially when the sun is setting!

If you have a few minutes take the walk. There is a great view of the river as you get towards the end.

We wanted to visit the Dells in a unique way and this was it! The walk is beautiful and meanders along the river. There are benches to take a break and enjoy the scenery and plenty of photo ops! A really pretty and easy walk to do!

I decided to take a walk through the Riverwalk, which begins next to Oodlesmack Popcorn/ Upper Dells Boat Rides kiosk. It's quite short, only about 3/10 of a mile long on a level and paved walking surface. It ends at the bridge. I walked further than that, trying to walk farther, but after a while it only is private property. An elderly person in reasonably good shape should have no problem walking it. There are I think two businesses you have access to on the Riverwalk. There are five tables/benches you can eat your breakfast, lunch or supper at. The trail is pretty and peaceful. You'll see some nice, small sandstone cliffs to admire. It is totally worth your time to see in my eyes.
Thank you for reading. If you found this review of use, if you could tap the helpful button, it would be appreciated. Thank you.

The walk is in a beautiful location, adjacent to the busy downtown Wisconsin Dells. It's very nice walk along the Wisconsin River.
Nice quiet walk along the River. Can watch the sightseeing boats going out on their excursions. Next to the boat docks and restaurants overlooking the river.
