This makes me proud to say that I was born here in Long Branch, though I had nothing to do with the history. At least, Long Branch gets recognition for something historical, not just cultural like Asbury Park.

Finding this beach was very easy via Waze. Parking is simple, as they have a big parking lot ($10 to park). Admission is $8/person. The beach was clean and busy, but not overcrowded. The bathroom/changing area was in good shape, and they cleaned it (presumably for the second time) in the early evening. There is also a concessions stand where you can get burgers, ice cream, etc. This is the perfect place to go for a low key beach day.

I went with my daughter and two grandchildren, ages 9 and 6. The waves were too rough for them to be comfort in the ocean, but they enjoyed both walking the beach and digging in the sand. The playground was a definite hit! The bathroom was clean and there are outside showers.

I finally got to experience 7 Presidents Beach. The drive was not to long from where I live in New York and the beach was beautiful. They charged us $7.00 to park and $7.00 per adult. The beach was very clean and they even had clean bathrooms and showers. The lifeguards were plentiful and really kept on top of people not to go out to far. This is a very nice family beach and I will be back.

Love this beach! Ample, easy parking and clean restrooms with outside showers to rinse off the sand.

We have been to this beach park several times this year, it is clean and in a good location. It cost us $21 for 2 adults with a car. We are able to visit this park and then ride our bike along the Long Branch Promenade. We have been here when it was packed, we parked in the field area and setup our chairs at the far end of Joline Beach, where the surfers go. During peak season, the traffic from the Parkway is very congested, we found a very good back way from the Red Bank exit saved us a lot of time.

This is my go-to beach, although I live about an hour north of Long Branch. I get there early before the parking lot fills up. I hate to parallel park, so this beach makes it easy for me, although it's not cheap. There are at least two bath houses and a snack bar and outdoor showers. The beach is clean. It's a great place if you just want the beach, not a boardwalk, It's also easy to get to as you just get off the Parkway and drive straight to the beach (stop at Rook Coffee on the way and pick up an iced one to go).

Wonderful beach for families to enjoy. Clean beach & restrooms, picnic tables, kids park and attentive life guards. This beach is an easy drive from our house and we love to spend the day playing on beach and flying kites. Go early, parking fills up fast.

Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park and Beach is a family-oriented public beach.

For $21 for your car and two adults on weekends during the summer through Labor Day, you get a clean beach, public changing room, toilets, outdoor shower, and lifeguards. Children 12 and under are free.

If you go regularly, a season beach pass is a better deal.

You can save the parking fee by parking outside the park and walking in.

Tobacco and booze are banned.

Clientele is mostly families.

I would judge Seven Presidents’ facilities cleaner and better maintained compared with NJ’s Island Beach State Park 40 miles further south.

Tip 1: Traveling from the North, you can also get to the park via Route 36 and avoid Eatontown congestion. Route 36 is slow, but it always moves.

Tip 2: Use a cart to bring your gear from the car to the beach. It’s a hike if you have to carry everything. We use a foldable Rio Beach Wonder Wheeler with wide wheels perfect for sand.

Tip 3: Watch your local speed. These shore towns need to raise a lot of revenue in only 3 months.

Our synagogue holds it Shabbat service here twice a year. They are extremely accommodating. Picnic tables, and a snack bar add a bonus for those wishing to spend the day at the beach. There is a fee for parking, but this fee includes your entrance to the beach

What’s not to love? Breakfast on the beach. Playground fun. Scooters to get ice cream a d back at the beach to chase waves! All within an hour drive. Love Jersey💕

By BURT L |

7 Presidents Beach appears to be a family beach. There are a great many children of all ages. The beach is kept very clean. The admission fee for this beach is different than the rest of the Long Branch Beaches.

Very wide, uncrowded this government run beach facility offers rest rooms, port-a-johns, lots of parking for reasonable prices ($7 all day parking and $7 per adult). The play ground is terrific and safe with spongy ground cover. The beach at the water's edge was a bit stoney but entry into the water was easy. Guards are on duty 'til 5 PM and the park open 'til dusk. Outside the park are restaurants and bars, but no alcohol is permitted at the beach or picnic areas and no food concessions exist within the park. Enjoyable spot for a day at the beach.

By nursekagan |

We took my 93 year old father there yesterday because website said it was handicapped accessible. We had to laugh when we found the handicap parking was a good distance away from the entrance to the handicap path to the beach! It actually was next to the path that had steps down! Also, the extra length of path for wheelchairs to the sand could have benefited from being an extra 30 yards...very crowded on a weekday with camp kids as well. We ended up having a lovely afternoon, but a little disappointed when looking at it from the point of view of an individual with decreased mobility.

By Carrol M |

Our day trip to this New Jersey beach was worth the trip. The beach had so few visitors that we thought it was our personal beach. The sand was clean and easy to stroll in while enjoying the view.

By Dieselbeetle |

Wonderful family beach with lifeguards. No radios blasting. Friendly people of all ages. Parking is easy and close to the beach. There is a covered picnic area with a snack bar which sells hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, hot pretzels, etc. Bathrooms are large and clean. There is even an outdoor shower area to rinse the sand from your feet.

Take the kids by car loads to Seven Presidents. Great beach front, plenty of life guards and fun for everyone!

I have lived in the area all my life. When I was a kid we went to a beach club on this site(the old White Sands Beach Club). When it closed this 38 acres tract of land was eventually taken over by our county park system and has turned out to be one of the best beaches and parks around. $8.00 for beach access and $8.00 for parking you get clean beaches, a great playground that is for any kids including physically challenged, lifeguards, outdoor showers, snack bar(in summer) and public bathrooms.
Our neighbor's family rented one of the tents at the north end. It included picnic tables, BBQ grill, was next to the playground and a path to the beach. The only thing was that we had the port o potty's nearby. If you wanted to use the showers or regular bathrooms you had to walk a short distance to them. Not a bad deal for the price of the tent. Here's the website with information on the park:

http://www.monmouthcountyparks.com/page.aspx?Id=2535

There is a skate park across the street where you can skateboard or just watch them.

The property is a nice area to walk around even off season. The one house that you see on site is the last one left out of nine old buildings that Wild Bill Cody, Annie Oakley and Sitting Bull used when they weren't touring with their show. It was built in 1900. Here's an article on it.

Great place to go. Nice beach option if you want a quieter setting than the Pier Village crowd.

By Norjeff2 |

We have visited this beach with friends a few times. Ample parking and the beach is so wide that there is space for everyone. The beach is kept clean and has bathrooms and outdoor showers to rinse off. There is a covered picnic area and lots of lifeguards.

We have always found it family friendly and it is one of the more northern beaches so you do not have to ride in traffic down the parkway. We will continue to come back.

By 31mel |

My husband and I go to this park all the time. There is a play area for kids, plenty of parking and the beach is really nice. There is a fee to go onto the beach until after Labor Day ,then it is free.
It has restrooms. You can walk to Pier Village from the park. They have fireworks in July. Nice sand very clean. There is a homemade ice cream shop across the street. Would recommend this park.

By Karen G |

My husband and I are avid beach goers and have gone to Rehoboth Beach for about 15 years with my family. After the niece & nephew got older and did not want to go anymore, everyone stopped going, except my sister in Delaware.

NEEDLESS TO SAY... We needed to find another beach closer to PA, and within driving distance for one day. We found it! Long Branch Beach, NJ (Seven Presidents State Park). Very clean, opened, not too crowded, restaurants, restrooms, outside showers, plenty of parking. We gave been there twice already this summer and going next weekend.

Tip - if you like it and plan on going a lot, you may want to buy the season pass. It probably would gave benefited us this year.

By Jack Bobby Lou M |

I have visited this park many times over the years and I highly recommend it as a place to go to the beach, but the weekends are very busy. Pick a day midweek and you will be much happier. Great plce to go with the kids-there is a skate park a block away. Good bike riding destination with rest rooms.

By mommiemookie |

The best day trip: easy parking, concession stand for drinks, sandwiches, burgers on grill. Area for picnicking , outdoor showers, tables and umbrellas for eating off the beach.
Restrooms clean, beach clean, lifeguards on duty. Amy's Omlette Shop is a few blocks away , along with a deli, greek restaurant, bakery, newspaper stand, pizza, Windmill Restaurant, all close to beach. Pier Village is 1/2 mile away on Ocean Avenue with lots of stores and other restaurants at every price range.

By Joe M |

I went there in the late afternoon, so there was plenty of parking... I imagine that it's tougher to find spots during the day. It seems like a nice place to go, but being from So Cal I missed having a sunset over the ocean.

By sabinefiloni |

We visit Seven President's Park after dinner so kids can run around and work off some energy. The playground is huge and colorful. There is a section for younger children and one for older children. Climbing, swinging, spinning, swaying, music making activities. Parking is free, I believe, after 5:00. There is direct access, so it is perfect for an evening walk on the beach. Very clean and highly recommended.

By marsie324 |

No wonder 7 Presidents stayed here. Lovely area very clean with lifeguards. Close to area restaurants and food on site. Ample parking with.low fee. Make sure to bring camera as u mite see a shark.

By Maria S |

Headed down to Seven Presidents for Memorial Day and enjoyed the weekend. The beach was welcoming and the park staff had everything ready and were extremely friendly and gracious. If you have not been recommend you plan a visit ASAP!

By penngirls |

We had heard nothing but great things about Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park and it did not disappoint.
The playground is wonderful for various ages. Our daughter thought it was a nice added bonus for a quick getaway to the beach. There was plenty of parking and the first day we went we weren't even charged because the weather wasn't the greatest in the morning but got significantly better during the day. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained.
Literally, the only complaint we have is about the garbage that is on the beach. We typically visit LBI and in all the years we have been going to the Jersey Shore we have never experienced the amount of garbage we saw at this beach. It was shocking actually. I don't know if it comes from people not taking their garbage out with them, garbage cans were plentiful or if it washes up from the ocean, which is an absolute travesty, but it should be cleaned up in some fashion from the beach. If we had had gloves we would have gladly picked up the trash we saw.
Overall we enjoyed our first time in Long Branch and would definitely visit again in the future.

Great beach!! I have been looking for a goto NJ beach town for years. I think we found it!

Clean beach, parking and beach fees are reasonable, lifeguards, you can bring food on the beach and there are concessions, showers, and bathrooms very close.

Great for families!

By karenwallkill |

this is a great family beach. very clean. there is a playground for the kids and a snack stand. my kids love spending the day there. Reasonable rates to enjoy the beach!!! Nice day trip.

By bobbyr21 |

very nice beach, not too crowded. the lighthouse ices is across the street. one of my favorite beaches on the jersey shore.

By Mike O |

We have been coming here for many years now. Nice beach, and the kids still like the playground even though it's mostly for younger kids.
Just a short drive down the shore, good for a day trip.
Love that they have developed Pier Village with several good restaurants.
We will keep coming here.

By tee0ff |

Have ventured out to this beach 2 years now after giving up old favorites along jersey shore that have become too busy and inappropriate for kids. My kids 16, 13, and 6, and I love this beach, its friendly staff, and its cleanliness. Parking is ample for an $8 parking fee. Weekends are very busy, get there early. I shoot for weekdays with no hassle and less crowds. $8 per adults weekdays + $8 parking fee. $$ well spent for a day at the jersey shore!

By MethuselahSeven |

This is a pretty beach. It is clean and well-maintained. And when you are finished playing on the beach, you can go to some of the nice shops just a few steps away.

By Geraldine G |

This beach is very clean , accessible from exit 105 on the Garden State Pkwy. The only thing lacking are indoor showers. Parking lot is ample.although we went on a weekday. I don't know if they ever turn cars away on the weekend.

By Jennifer Sheridan VanDerhoef |

One of the coolest playgrounds for little kids! Lots of variety and fun for all ages! This is definitely a must stop for a family with young kids! (My 9 year old and 3 year old nieces both had a blast!)

By belindamorgan2 |

Went to this beach yesterday and I had alot of fun..

It was really expensive for a Tuesday midweek $10.50 each!!!
But besides that the beach was packed with people.

The sand has alot of 'pebbles' it's not just sand.

But it's a nice beach with alot if families and kids playing lacross.

By gail h |

The beach was operated last year by the state and being a senior citizen I have a pass for free entry into state parks and beaches. After working 53 years and supporting the state of NJ I was now entitled to a few benefits. Unfortunately this year I went to this beach and found the beach is no longer a state beach but in now Monmouth county beach and my senior pass was no longer valid. Though I did enjoy this beach, I will no longer go there the beach pass and additional parking fee is way too expensive. You would think they would still honor senior passes, if for nothing else but a courtesy who have supported this state for years.

By Frankwestorangenj |

$25 for season passes. We have gone 14 times. Two people, total coast $50. That's $1.75 a trip, Can't beat that.

By karen g |

This is a neat, clean beach. Picnic area, bathrooms clean. Large play ground for kids. We had a great time. Unfortunately the prices will keep us away all summer, but we will be back.

By AndreaTedM |

Clean beach!! An awesome playground if you have young children . There is a snack bar and the bathroom have showers

By Cipi |

Keep returning every summer.Be early in the weekends or you won't find where to park. Very family friendly and pretty much clean

By Karen F |

My husband and I took a ride on a warm May day and walked the boardwalk, had lunch and enjoyed the pleasant view and the overall experience. It's a nice way to spend a few hours and burn some calories walking.

By Jen T |

Awesome beach area, easy to get to off the GSP. It is a County park, and you may think it's less expensive than other beach fees. Wrong. This year's prices are $8 per Adult plus $8 for parking. They have a small snack stand for purchases. You can bring your own food and drink on the beach. However, we noticed many visitors leaving their empty coffee cups, water bottles and general garbage directly on the grassy parking area. Garbage bins are right there people! Don't be lazy jerks! It really ruins the nature. Note that they are not affiliated with the neighboring beach area in Long Branch. Fees and Parking are different down the road.

By Zwoman77 |

The beach was reasonable to goto $7 to park and $7 per person to get on beach. It is clean and not too crowded. People there were nice and friendly too. Lots of families. Not your typical jersey shore beach goers which was refreshing.

By lookwho3 |

Great playground for children. Beach is beautiful and well kept. Has outdoor open showers. Bathrooms ,Picnic tables. Large area for parking. Pay admission.

By Tom H |

I jogged and walked on the Long Branch promenade. This is a little bit of history explaining the visits by seven U.S. presidents to the community. The promenade connects the old school, Rooney's Restaurant, with the new Pier Village complex of restaurants, shops and that is the hot weekend spot, right on the beach.

By Matt S |

I have been coming to Seven Presidents for two summers. I like that it is only an hour from my house and that it is clean and not crowded. I also like it has a breeding area for the birds. However, I do think it is highly priced and wish there was some semblance of a boardwalk. Overall, a pleasant way to spend a day.

By ac/lv-woman |

A great day at beach. Clean, plenty of sun and fun for 3 generations of my family. Bring a pucnic lunch for a more affordable day. Plenty of parking if you come early.

By biz_Travelor7 |

Long Branch was THE place to be from the 1850’s to the 1930’s.
It was the vacation spot for Washington DC, Phila, and NYC.
all of the presidents from Buchanan to Wilson lived here. As did Mark Twain, the Gugenheims, Abraham and Straus, Walter Reed, the Pres of Woolworth (his estate is on Cedar Ave where Monmouth Univ is now)
Across the street was Gugenheim
Ulysss S Grant wrote his memoirs here.
John Garfield came here after being shot in DC.

By joee5 |

Family Sunday outing. Parking and per person fees at the front gate. However if you are military, current or former, no fee charged. Nice clean beach. Day we arrived we were one of few families. Within 2 hours the entire beach was packed. Great spot for families as you will find mostly law enforcement, firefighters and military members in the crowd. Safe beach and parking lot as well.

By Joseph M |

Right in the heart of the Jersey Shore. smack dab in the middle of Monmouth County in the county's largest City, the Friendly City of Long Branch. Beautiful sandy beach, so easy to get to. Right at the end of Rt.36 east from exit 105. So clean, with restrooms and snack bars. If snack foods do not fit your bill there are outstanding eateries of all types just north and just south of its exit on Ocean Blvd. north. Ursula Plaza and Charlie's to the north, The lighthouse, Windmill, Rooney's crab house and Pier Villages and more, to the south You name it, it is less then a mile away. great place to spend a summers day. Kids won't want to leave.

By Mercedes smith |

Thispark isright off of seven presidents beach,. It is a large park, with plenty of room for the kids to run around. It is clean, and has great jungle gyms swings slides , and new things like bucaneer ship, music area, diuble swing, and swirly chairs. Lots of fun

By lone6star |

Located 1 block off of Ocean Blvd, this is a real nice family beach. You park your a short distance away in either a paved parking lot or on gravel (closer to the beach). Seasonal park access passes are $45 for ages 13-17; $70 for adults 18 to 64; and $25 for adults 65 and older. Season parking passes are $70. Seasonal park access passes are effective through September 5.

Weekday admission fees are $8 for individuals 18 years old and over; those 17 and under are free. On weekends and holidays, the fee is $8 for individuals age 13 and over; those 12 and under are free. The cost of a daily parking pass is $8.

We snuck over after a business event... Had to check out the shore. Nicely dinner New Jersey!
Family friendly as well as handicap friendly facilities. We will be back when it's warmer with the family.

By BeachLuvR713 |

I was looking for a decent beach that was a quick drive from home (E. PA) so we gave this a shot. We went 8/29/15 on the last beach Saturday of the summer. Traffic was decent. We arrived at the park around 11:45 and the park was packed. $8 for parking and $8 for adult admission. We parked and headed to the beach.

I haven't been to a NJ beach for at least 20 years so I forget what it was like, but the water was very foamy. The foam was yellow, and smelled really strong. There were lots of crashing waves which my daughter enjoyed. The beach sand had sections of really rocky areas, soft sand, and super wet soaked sand. We didn't even need water to make a sand castle, the sand was wet enough where we unpacked. The beach was packed and a mix of families, teenagers, singles, large groups setting up tents and tables full of food and drinks. The lifeguard stand had at least 3 lifeguards in it at any given time and they were doing a great job keeping people from swimming out to far, retrieving fishing poles and random things that had gone astray out in the water. We even saw one lifeguard going around helping to locate a missing child's family.

The bathroom/shower area on the south end of the park was pretty gross. One decent toilet out of 6 that was clean enough to allow my daughter to pee on (do not go in here barefoot and bringing sanitizing wipes in your beach pack is probably a good idea).

The snack bar area was clean and had lots of options. My daughter and I have food allergies and we couldn't find a list of what the snack bar had available anywhere online but one section of the snack bar had food (burgers, hot dogs, fries, chicken fingers, hot pretzels, chips, lemonade, etc.) Another section had cotton candy, and individually packaged ice cream bars (this was our only issue the entire day, that what wasn't sold out was unsafe for our allergies and my daughter was really disappointed). I had packed a bag full of snacks and drinks so that kept us happy otherwise.

Overall, I was pleased! We never ended up venturing to the playground; we spent so long on the beach itself and playing in the water that we were tired and headed home!

By Lisa C |

7 presidents park was great for day trip. $7 to park and $7 admission for adults. Kids under 14 are free (i think). There is a snack bar and clean restrooms and showers. Would definitely go again!

By B-Dub |

Great family beach. Access is easy. I have been every week since June during the pandemic. It helps us enjoy some sun, ocean, and peace of mind. Awesome place!!

By hyoungjun |

Clean, Big, Wide. Easy parking for $7 per day. $7 per adult which is the same as all other beaches in Jersey shore. Restroom and food area are OK status. This park has separate play ground for kids which can be a great alternative. I like to ocean view from the beach which has wide open.

By psv276 |

My family attended last week as we visited family out East. It was about $30 for us to park & attend (3 adults and 3 kids) but paying to use a NJ beach seems unavoidable. Beach was beautiful and well guarded by lifeguards. Very nice and reasonably priced snack bar with a good variety of options. Nice park and playground too! Plus, unlike other beaches, there wasn’t an additional charge to use showers or changing area. Very nice family beach!

By tripletmom97 |

I had heard wonderful things about this beach, but it was SO crowded on a nice Sunday in late July. There is a huge parking lot and we got a space around 11am, but a few minutes later it was full. The beach was wall to wall people, hard to find a spot to plant ourselves. Standard Jersey shore beach. It was also very expensive since had to pay for parking besides the beach passes. I much perfer Belmar or Spring Lake, etc.

By Marymartha B |

Love love love this beach. Love being able to be there so quickly and pay nominal fee for great parking, bathroom and changing rooms, outside showers, concession stand, picnic tables for your own grub, playground and all kinds of courts, volleyball etc. Beach for a day...this is the PERFECT spot! We LOVE 7 pres!!!

By NJShoreHomeFinder |

Lots of parking and easy walk to the Long Branch boardwalk area. You also have some of the best italian ice right across the street.

By Carin C |

We made a day trip to this park from our home in Northern NJ and were very pleasantly surprised! We were worried because we went on a holiday weekend, but we arrived early (8am) and even once the beach got more crowded, we were still really happy with the location, facilities, and general "vibe" of this park! Parking was easy, the facilities were clean, the beach itself was AMAZING! We took advantage of the mid-day heat and went for a walk down the boardwalk into town, and then spent a bit longer on the beach in the afternoon. We also recommend Amy's down the road for breakfast or lunch.

By Cookie |

The beach was great with the showers and bathroom along with a walk way half way down to the ocean. Parking and beach fee is pricy but they only charge for adults and the car. I loved they had a volley ball area for the grandchildren when they were tired of playing in the sand.

By TP2010 |

Its a good, clean private beach. Only downside is you pay for the parking & then per person entry fees... Beach is clean, not overly crowded (may be because of all the charges). They have a small canteen type of place where they sell usual fast food. Its ok food...if you did not bring anything, you'll get something to eat. Bathrooms are clean.

By Brendan P |

This was a decent beach- it's county run and operated. It is full of out of towners and can be dirty at times. Not a bad option for a quick trip during the day, but if you're looking for something nicer and closer to stores, shops, boardwalk etc., look down the shore a bit.

By Jeremy T |

The Long Branch boardwalk is quite extensive and a great place to take a stroll. When you get to the seven presidents area you seeing the busts of the seven presidents. You can grab a bite of any of the restaurants along the boardwalk or on the street right next to it. Or if you just feel like some gelato as we often do there are choices for that too.

By Lane B |

Very clean beach with lifeguards and a place to eat beach type foods, a place to shower and right across the street is an ice cream place that is a must stop each visit.

By Scott S |

Seven Presidents was a bit further away than our normal beach spot but was family friendly with ample parking. We were glad to be able to take our cooler on to this beach and enjoy our lunch while listening to the waves. For a Friday the beach was not overly crowded. The beach does have a snack bar and bathrooms.

By mab5155 |

Nice wide, clean beach. We went on a beautiful Saturday in August, arrived @ 10:30, afraid it would be closed but there was still plenty of parking. Cost $8/per adult plus $8 to park. Decent facilities. Outdoor cold showers only. Only drawback was the rough ocean that day, but rip currents are a part of the Jersey Shore. Loaded with families with little kids. Tons of lifeguards. Nice family vibe.

By Stacey V |

We loved 7 Presidents!! Beautifully maintained and clean beach. Ample parking along with plenty of areas to eat lunch by the snack bar. Bathrooms were clean and allowed for changing as well. We will definitely be back next summer.

By MJ W |

This is our go-to beach for the day. It's an easy drive from north jersey. We don't have to search for parking as it has it's own lot. We bring a cooler and food & we're good for the afternoon. We head back after 6 when traffic is lighter. Sometimes we stop in Eatontown for dinner before hitting the Parkway. It's clean, kids are free, beach/parking reasonably priced.

By BM07866 |

We have been coming here for years. Love the spot. Plenty of parking space, clean very relaxing. I only wish that there was inside shower, and at least one electrical outlets, to plug in a hair dryer. We usually go out to dinner after the beach and it is little hard to get cleaned up when we do just a day trip. But we do love the beach.

By JDRolle R |

I was on my way home and caught a glimpse of what looked like a park. As I drove closer I saw the geese, the crowd playing ball and felt what May have been ocean breeze. I never made it to the beach.

By Diane O |

We decided to hit the beach on Labor Day Weekend since it was a picture perfect day! We didn't want to go too far down, so decided to try Seven Presidents Beach. It is in Longbranch exit 105. It doesn't have a boardwalk with rides or games, but a big playground! It also has a place to eat with hot dogs, hambugers, chicken nuggets, drinks, etc. The whole place is nice and clean!! It was mostly families and quiet. For two adults, 2 kids and parking it came to $24. Not too bad on a holiday weekend. Next time I will pack a lunch/cooler since they were allowed. I will definitely make this my Jersey shore day trip from now on!

By Steve R |

We took a weekend to go to this beach with the family. Overall it was a nice beach, clean, and fun for the kids. I just can't seem to wrap my head around spending 16 dollars to lay in the sand. Where we come from, beaches aren't exploited for profit. The traffic and driving patterns aren't tourist friendly, neither are the people.
We enjoyed the ocean, but not so much the area. Rude, unfriendly, and not terribly welcoming to those that come to spend time with their family.
You may wonder why 16 dollars bothers me, it's not that it's a big payout, but it seems wherever you go, the beach, the tolls every mile, or wherever, they have their hand out for more money. I've spent less money in a weekend in NYC than we did here.
Overall it is a nice large beach that's clean and fun for the family, just bring a heavy wallet, it'll lighten up by the end of the weekend.

By Brie Valentino |

To get on this beach it is only 5 dollars per person which is cheap compared to other shore points. I have gone to the beach twice this summer and I would return to this one. I wish they had more then 3 bathrooms in the one building. It is in close proximity to shops and restaurants.

By jjflan |

Nice, clean beach with plenty of space for all. Worth the price of admission. Plus it's just a short walk to the Lighthouse ice cream shop!

By Joseph S |

Went to Seven Presidents on 4/23/14 for a daddy/daughter date with my 11yr. old. We've been coming to the park during the season for about the past 6 years. It is a great park during the season. Always very clean and we'll run. The consessions are nice nd the changing facilities are kept clean. Last week we went with my sisters family for a walk on beach and liked it a lot.
Today was super! Nobody except for a few walkers and birds. We just sat on the edge of a sand ridge and watched the surf roll in. Afterwards, we went to Tony's place for a gentle time on the swings. Tony's place is a playground made for children of all physical abilities. Very nice! Even though it was a windy day, it was a great time for our "date". This park is a nice place any time of the year.

By robert d |

well maintained state park, bathing during the summer months may31-september1/great place to walk/free during off peak season

By debinny |

Easy to get to from NJ Parkway, affordable, clean restrooms, outdoor rinse off showers, decent food stand, no boardwalk, but lifeguards and well maintained swimming beach. Close to Jolene Ave. for gas, food stores and such.

By Susan M |

We spent all day at the beach. Lifeguards patrolled several roped off areas so my kids were safe. We had in and out privileges for $24 for the day, the kids were free under 18. The facilities were clean. Best of all was the school of dolphins swimming by just outside the swimming area!

Very popular beach, get there early. Very clean beach. Plenty of parking. Stay away on holidays...it's crazy, but who doesn't want to go to the beach?

By scoobsmom |

This beach is about an hour and a half from my house. I like that the beach is clean and the bathrooms are clean as well. The beach does not get that crowded during the week and parking is easy. The beach is also close to the town of Long Branch so you can shop if you get bored on the beach. I would recommend this beach to families.

Last minute request from.our daughter to go to the beach. Gorgeous And hot Saturday in June. So why not?!?. Headed to our favorite beach - Seven Presidents.
We actually never made it down last year - but new to us - 3 beach volley ball courts. Also an area to rent chairs and umbrellas. Not sure of the cost. Since we brought our own - but nice to know it's now available.
You can purchase food or bring your own. The have two bathouses and outdoor showers to get the sand off and then to change before you go home and always relatively clean - given there is always sand in there. The fact that it's a deep beach - longer distance from when you walk on to the beach until your reach the ocean - there is plenty room to throw a frisbee or football and not get in anyone else's way; no matter how crowded it is. Very family friendly. There is also a playground and a skateboard park on the property. We have never been disappointed in a trip here.

By Benjamin N |

I have been going to this beach with my family for a few years and we always enjoy it here. The beaches are clean and so is the water. There are plenty of bathrooms and a food concession if you are hungry. It is a nice family type of place that everyone can enjoy. The people are well behaved and not rude and crude like some of the NY beaches. The day we went it was very crowded and the lifeguards had the beaches roped off so you could only swim in limited areas. It made it a little crowded for swimming. Other then that it was a nice day.

By Toni D |

We haven't been in this area in years but yet wanted a change from Seaside for the 4th. Spotless and traffic was directed by officer's
$15.00 was a lot to pay for parking but it was packed so I must be the only one to have an issue with that price.

By Nancy C |

A very clean beach. Family friendly. Yes, there are bathrooms and showers however, when we were there the sinks were clogged and toilets dirty. The 2 showers are outside the building. The swimming areas are roped off but believe signage would be helpful for these areas.

Seven Presidents Park, so named because it was the summer destination for presidents during the 19th century to escape the heat and humidity of Washington D.C. (funny seems to be a fair amount of it around NJ!) is a beach you would expect to find on Cape Cod or maybe out on Long Island. It is a wide, expansive beach with sea grass borders and a nice amenity center with clean washrooms. There are some playgrounds for the toddlers too. The vibe is more relaxed than, say, a Belmar beach with folks there from all walks of life. It is our favorite beach!

By 12noname34 |

It was closed when I got there early and you have to pay to get in. I just went down the road to the beach.

By AliciaM.M |

Went with some friends. Had a nice relaxing time. The bathrooms are clean and the walk is not too far off the beach. Great for kids as they have a pretty big playground area. The snack bar looked pretty good. We brought our own snacks and drinks. Outdoor showers were easily accessible. The only downfall is the volleyball nets and the playground are not in the same location. The nets are on the other end of the beach. I think there should be more than one setup for volleyball. I am not sure if there is a playground on the other end.

One of the best day beaches at the Jersey shore. Great surf and very clean beach! there is an admission fee but well worth the cost. Monmouth County military (active and retired) free with ID.

By Kola05 |

This is the first beach I ever visited. We visited in April of 2013 during the off-season and found over a dozen sand dollars and many beach stones of all different colors and sizes along with some driftwood to put in the garden. It was a great experience and we have visited a couple of times since.

By Luvs2TravelAnywhere |

I just popped up to see the Seven President's Oceanfront Park and it seems wonderful if you have kids as it has a playground area too.

By Ian411Ian |

I expect this park would be jam-packed during the "regular" beach season - pretty much like everywhere else on the Jersey Shore. But we hadn't been down the shore for way too long, and just wanted to spend a little time walking on the beach and hearing the surf, so we went in February. No swimming for us. Parking was plentiful (go figure), and we were very glad (and surprised) to find the restrooms open - and heated! There looked like there was still some post-Sandy cleanup to be done, but nothing that would have kept it from operating "as is." Can't wait to go back "in season."

By Marissa S |

We went to this park with small children. My kids loved the playground - they were occupied for over an hour. Then on to the beach. It was clean, quiet, and not crowded. The waves were pretty strong, so the kids just played at the edge of the water and in the sand. They had a great time. There were lifeguards. We had a nice time and would go back. Parking - $7, admission $7 for ages 17+.

By Kaveh S |

We had a family reunion day at this park. The park is very well kept, there is a great playground, right off the beach, kind of quiet and nice, since there is a car fee and an entrance fee per person. We rented one of the tents and there was a big grill available too, bring the charcoal.

By kittysmom12 |

Enjoyed a lovely day At Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park. The beach was quiet, clean, and beautiful. The facilities were open and free off-season. Swimming was not permitted, unfortunately, since lifeguards were off-duty. I will plan to return during the summer season. It should be worth the fee.

By hannabresler |

Has parking playground area for litte kds. Skateboarding ramps Italian ices and of course the beach will keep you busy for hours

By mcmacguy |

As a long-time resident, I can tell you that this is where locals prefer to go. New Yorkers - please go elsewhere!

By Momof2NewJersey |

This is part of the Monmouth County park system. You pay $7 to park and $7 for each person over 18. They have bathrooms (pretty dirty) and a food concession, plus a playground. The sand is on the rocky side and the waves are pretty strong. Its a bit of a drive off the parkway. Coming from North Jersey its not too long of a trip and provides for a nice beach day.

By Diana G |

This is one of the closer beaches on the Jersey shore when you come from upstate New York. It's clean with a lot of beach space (have been here twice and neither time was it crowded!). There's visible life-guards with with areas to swim. We parked in a lot for $8 a day but there is also meter parking if you get there early enough ($1/hr Mon-Thurs & $2/hr Fri-Sun). $8 per person over 17yrs old to get onto beach and kids are free (which is great if you are traveling with a family!). Bathrooms were close and relatively clean considering they are on a beach! There are also outside showers to rinse off before getting in your car.

There's no boardwalk so bring your own food/drinks. When we got tired of the beach we took an easy 10 min drive down to the boardwalk in Asbury Park to give the kids something else to do!

Highly recommend this park and will definitely be coming back!

By Dawn T |

One of the best Beaches in NJ for a day trip...clean, relaxing, overall wonderful time.
Great beach access, parking and the playground was awesome....the lighthouse ice cream stop across the street is perfect after a long hot day on the beach....thumbs up

By MDobresk |

We visited on April 13th and drove here from Harrisburg, where we were staying to visit Hershey. This park was definitely worth the drive. The beach was amazing, and I'm saying that as someone who used to live in Florida, and the play park blew us away. It was far more than we expected. We went during the off-season, so we didn't have to pay for entrance to the park (it's a national park so there's a small fee for entrance) but it would have been worth paying for.

By kjambro |

beach is clean, well maintained. All the workers were friendly. The water was a little rough and the guards were very attentive. Beach is big, plenty of room to spread out.

By Joe G |

Easy access, plenty of parking, bathrooms, snacks, a well designed kids playground and with a terrific beach. A Monmouth County gem of a small ocean park.

By Pam A |

This year is the first time that my husband and I visited this beach. We really like it. We went 2 times so far this summer on a Sunday. The cost is $10.00 per person which includes parking. The parking lot is not far from the beach. The beach is clean. The bathrooms are clean. The ocean area is nice and flat so it's easy to go into the water. We found our new favorite beach.

By Jennifer F |

Although a NJ native, I rarely go down the shore, but when I do my friends always chose either Seven Presidents or Asbury Park and I've never had a problem at Seven Presidents. I appreciate the close parking, changing rooms, bathrooms, and showers. It is a very brief walk to get to the ocean front. They also have food options and picnic tables. Definitely feels less crowded than other shore points, overall. Pricing is $10 per person and per car. Would recommend!

By RainieB |

Came to this beach after reading reviews. It started out as an over-cast slightly drizzly day which may have helped us as from what I'm reading the parking lots fill up. There were tons of parking spaces and the beach was not crowded.

The beach was combed so it was clean and bathrooms were clean too. The snack bar was closed so I was happy to have brought lunch.

There is a large park for suitable for kids up to 12 years old according to the sign, however it looked to be showing signs of wear.

As in the other reviews we were
Lucky to not have experienced loud music, or large groups drinking, but the weather may have helped .

Like some other Jersey shore towns., the area immediately surrounding this park seemed nice with condos, but travel one block in, it's a depressed area. Some houses wth boarded up windows and unkept property and abandoned stores. I'm sure beautiful in its time .

By travelwise333 |

The beach is great with nice sand. Ample of parking right next to beach making it very accessible especially if you have kids. Good facilities. There is a very nice upscale village with hip restaurants right near by in a corniche like setting by the beach called the pier village.

By Spinmommie |

We've been coming to this park/beach for the last 2 years but on this occasion I wondered if it was time to check out a new part of the shore...
The beach is safe, lifeguards, etc. The bathrooms are vile. I won't even describe what one toilet stall looked like when I tried to take my 6 year old to the bathroom...
There were young guys near us (early 29s maybe) who were listening to gangster rap. Now I have to stress: I listen to gangster rap myself, but they had it on loud and every 4th word was the f-word, in full view of 2 kids under 10 and plenty of other families within ear shot. They were also drinking, a big no-no on this beach. And 15 minutes later, I saw park rangers (3 of them) but they didn't seem to be serving any purpose.
As the families started leaving around 2-3pm, only young people, all with booze in their coolers, started entering. This being our third year coming to this beach in Father's Day I was unpleasantly surprised since I'd seen mostly families and PG fun at this park that even has a jungle gym!

By Anneke S |

First, we had to pay about $15 for parking plus $8 each to get in. Then, there were only certainly areas of the beach where you were allowed to swim because you could only swim in guarded areas. Those areas were super, super crowded. You couldn't even swim because you'd run into people. The waves were really rough, which just made it extra unpleasant to be in the water. It was not my favorite beach.

By Richard S |

This is a nice display of living history and the people who donated this are thanked. It is very nice to know that some of our upper crust folks liked this place as ourselves.

By Qui M |

I just returned from a day at this beach. I was initially concerned that because of other reviews it would be too full of children, but that was not the case. Me and my boyfriend felt relaxed and simply enjoyed a great day at a clean New Jersey beach. There was also a nice mix of people which I appreciate and the lifeguards were attentive and helpful. I will definitely be attending again.

A quick tip: The main entrance to the parking lot will be very crowded on the weekend. (there was a huge line on a Sunday!) I suggest going down 2 lights and parking on the side street with the meter parking. You avoid the crowd to get in and you avoid the very crowded section of the beach.

By FreeM357 |

Very clean and well taken care of beach, you must pay to park, and each person cost extra. Example, my car 8$, and me and my girlfriend 8$ each, so total 24$. I was lucky enough to get me and my girl friend in for free because if are armed forces veteran or active duty, it's free to get in. The bathrooms were not perfect, but usable, but what do you expect from a beach bathroom? They have showers to rinse off and snack bar. There are also lifeguards on duty. A great place to take your family and the beach is big, so plenty of space to sit. You must walk pretty far from the parking to where the water actually is, so be prepared to get some exercise carrying all your beach stuff. Also make sure to bring your body board, as there are some nice size waves here. Enjoy! I will definitely go again.

We went there in Aug , it was very crowed, had park far away , walk almost 10 mins to it ...... it was over crowded , very hard to find space to settle down, the wave was so high and big, had to watch out for kids , didn't stay too long, maybe it will be better to go there off season .........

By frank g |

The beach is ok ,many places to eat that are good . It will cost you a pretty penny to sit on this beach it isn't free. Like most N. J beaches they charge you between 7 to $11 a person for this luxury. N.Y beaches are much better ,free and it doesn't break your bank. Go to Sandy Hook beach it will only cost you to park .

By Joeleen C |

We had a great time visiting the beach during the July 4th week! We arrived late, but there was still parking available. I liked that there was a snack stand with seating and umbrellas near the beach entrance. Also, there were outside showers, bathrooms, and changing rooms. Additionally, they had blue mats to help bridge the gap between the bathroom/snack stand area to the beach. The sand can be very hot! Also, my twin 6-year olds LOVED the playground nearby. There were lifeguards throughout the beach, so I felt safe. Overall, it was a great beach for the family.

Some cons: Pricey (10 bucks parking and 8 bucks daily passes for adults 17 and up), cash only, and can get busy during the weekend and holidays.

By MitchPhyllis65 |

This is a nice and clean looking ocean park. We had been to this park many years ago during the off season with our dog before it was built up. Today we tried to go to the park again with a different dog during off season, but as we entered there was a sign posted stating no pets were allowed on the beach or in the park. We respect the decision to keep the park pet free since some pet owners don’t feel It’s their responsibility to clean up after them or keep them leashed. We took our dog up to Sandy Hook where we were allowed to enjoy the inlet side beaches.

By Ashish B |

Love the boardwalk and the village. Lots of great restaurants to eat in the village. Parking in the park is paid during summer. You can park away from the park on the street for free.
Right next to the park is the boardwalk along the coast.
There are a few volleyball pitches. The crowd is energetic. The area also attracts a lot of bicyclists so it is a great place to cycle.

By Christine5112013 |

this beach is just beautiful. it is clean, has a snack bar and bathroom area with showers. the beach is huge and doesnt feel crowded.

By morewierd |

Especially for walking the boardwalk. We were visiting friends and it was a PLEASURE to stroll the boardwalk for three consecutive mornings!

Way to go!!!

By MooseFamily80 |

Went here the last week of August...
Definitely like it here... $7 car and $7 per adult (kids free)... easy parking, not too far to walk to get to beach, showers, pavilion with snack bar/ice cream/lunch, changing facilities and OK rest rooms. Also a playground there.

There was a hurricane off the Eastern US shores... waves were rough, but green flag to swim. Very impressed with the lifeguards! 6 lifeguards were on duty... they were very diligent and attentive... we witnessed at least 6 rescues from the undertow...

Highly recommend this family friendly beach... and only a short ride from northern NJ.

By MikeRN |

My family and I decided to go to Seven Presidents today instead of Belmar or Seaside because of parking. That simple.

We went to Belmar last week and it took us 45 minutes to find a parking spot and we had to settle on something 3 blocks West of the beach. I noticed that some of the residents take up two spots on the street in front of their home and have no reservations doing it. It was free, but not worth it.

Seven presidents was $8 to park and adults are $8 each. Conversely, Belmar also charges $8 for adults as well. The $8 parking fee in Seven Presidents was well worth it and saved us about an hour. There is ample parking after paying at the gate in a well groomed and clean lot. Plenty of signage to recall where you parked with garbage and recycling at the end of rows.

A short walk to the beach from parking past the bathroom and sand shower areas. Signs that outline weather, water temps, and tide information were present at both beach beach access points. There are runners through the dunes to a line of garbage and recycling containers where the white sand beach opens up in front of you.

A short walk down to the water front through clean sand, we picked a spot within the lifeguard buoys and planted our family. I didn't see any chair or umbrella rental facilities, but many people brought their own. Coolers and picnics were welcome. A few nearby shops would provide a great lunch if you wanted to venture off and return (save your tickets for reentry).

The life guards were on point. No needs during my visit save a few whistles and nudges to kids straying too far.

I didn't notice any garbage/recycling down closer to the water, so pack a bag and trash it out. There were 3 school busses there upon arrival, but they were well behaved and didn't pose any problems.

Bathrooms were clean and stocked. Soap, TP, hot air hand dryers, running fresh water.

I highly recommend this beach/park for families and people looking for a nice clean place to enjoy the NJ Shore!

By Jeremy T |

There is a boardwalk along this popular beach. Many new condominiums along the beach. There are several restaurants along the boardwalk. You can find Ice Cream shops as well/ You can park on the streets and there are some parking lots if you are going to spend the day.

By Maharaj12 |

My kids really enjoyed playing at the park while my wife and myself took stroll on the beach. The beach is long and flat. Though the water was very cold during Easter, it provides a spectacular view of sunrise.

By ZhuZhu L |

Easily to find parking, beach amenities are clean. Sand is a little bit rocky but water is very nice.

By crapschick |

We've visited this beach many times and it always seems very family-friendly. We used to go to Point Pleasant but it was so overcrowded that we have settled here, at Seven President's Beach.

They have outdoor showers, changing rooms, bathrooms and a snack bar. There are always diligent lifeguards on duty.

At this point there is an $8 fee to get in and an $8 for parking. Try to get there as early as possible and you can either park on the street or in their parking lot. But after about 11am, that fills up.

We'll definitely be back.

By Sockster |

We love coming to the beautiful beach at Seven Presidents. The big problem is the parking. To park in the main lot you have to be here by 10AM or walk far. Get here early and enjoy!

By TJ L |

If you, like me, are from the Cape this is a solid option. Yes you have to pay to get in for the car $8 and per person $8, but unlike most jersey beaches you don't need a badge or to pay extra for using the bathroom, or extra to change your clothes. About an hour from inland central NJ (Bridgewater area).

It's clean and the beach is deep so you can get away from the crowd. Lots of marked / life guard areas to swim. Also where not marked you can surf and fish (but only swim inside marked areas or bay watch will hunt you down!

Clean bathrooms and outside showers, you can bring coolers and all "kinds" of drinks. There is a concession stand if that's your thing, plenty of parking on both sides.

There is no boardwalk, but just don't the street at Pier Village there is one. Ice cream place just across street from parking lot and a jersey mikes around the corner. A solid option

By NYGirly77 |

Nice playground for kids, bathrooms are close by and vending machines for snacks. $10 parking in the summer- free parking after 4PM- but you have to be out of the lot by 9PM as they lock the gate. If you park here you have to buy beach passes even if you are just coming to use the playground and walk around.

By Stephanie D |

Went for the day during the week. Not overly crowded, plenty of parking, outdoor showers and a pavilion with food for sale. A playground is right next door. Beach was clean and large with lots of life guards on duty. Will definitely go back, highly recommend.

By Luv2TravelwHim |

Was very nice to see and read all the interesting information! Great while you are walking along the boardwalk -- so very close and easy to access.

By nclover165 |

Great park with wonderful beaches! Lots of parking and very clean. Would visit again when we have more time!

By Susan W d |

No inside showers
Very hot in bathrooms
Only pavilion was open
Expensive
No senior discount
No chairs or umbrellas
The seven presidents would be disappointed!!!

By Paul B |

Pros
Right at the end of Rt 36
Easy Parking (in the off season)
Access to the beach and Promenade

Cons
Not as long of a beach as Point Pleasant

By NjMoma2 |

If you read my review of Sandy Hook ("A Toilet With Sand"), you might know that I like ocean water, clean restrooms, and a clean beach. This beach had two of the three with the water quite nice, if the sand a bit rough (nothing you can do about that). Boogie boarding was the best (according to my son) here! Tip: if your kids do go boogie boarding, bring a little tube of antibiotic cream, because scratches are inevitable.

The beach itself is large and somewhat clean. As is typical for many NJ beaches, the clientele seem to think that No Smoking signs are just a suggestion. That's a damn shame, especially since this is a family-friendly beach ruined by the numbers of insensitive smokers who just don't abide by the rules and the fact that there's no beach patrol enforcing the No Smoking signs. The fee to get into this state park is modest and there is evidence, at least, that they try to keep the sand somewhat litter-free. It would be REALLY nice, however, if the rangers used some of the money we spent to get in here and enforced some of the rules.

The bathrooms were terrible a mere hour after the park opened. Tip: wear shoes when you go into the ladies room since I'm afraid many of my gender don't get the concept of peeing IN the toilet. The concession stand was ok. I've read other reviews that claim the personnel are rude and incompetent, but I did not have that experience.

For a day trip, this beach is tolerable. For better beaches, however, go further south in NJ.

By dreaCO |

My family and I came for the first time awesome experience clean and very friendly easy to find just perfect

By Chrysa S |

Beach was clean, easy to walk to from parking spots, and plenty of room to spread out. Arriving at 10:30am on a Saturday allowed close enough parking to entryway, although quicker pay stations would be nice....

By LisaP67123 |

We've been going to this beach for years, after hearing about it from friends. We live on the eastern edge of PA, so it's a relatively close drive for us for a day trip to the beach. It's clean with nice bathrooms and changing rooms. There is a snack bar, no boardwalk however. The best part about this beach is that there is a big parking lot!! If you are 17 and under admission is free, otherwise it is $8/person + $8 to park. Very reasonable.

By juliazapcic |

I live close enough to Seven President’s Park to be a frequent visitor. Beautifully maintained, Family activities for people of all ages for toddlers to seniors. Gorgeous ocean views. Responsible staff. Plenty of parking (well, peak season you should get there early or late). Certainly anyone visit g in the area should visit and spend some time there. Nice job weaving a little of the local history alongside the main attraction (the ocean!).

By Ivan B |

This park is very clean, beautiful beach, ample parking and the Monmouth County Park System has done a great job in fixing the Sandy damage. There is a great children's playground that is the favorite of my grandkids. It's 38 acres of heaven.

By blueskkyflakes |

We avoided the parkway traffic by way of turnpike to parkway (just a few miles) to 9 south to 18 south to 36 east. We hit a few lights but got there in a little over 1 hour from north jersey.

Seven presidents beach is county run. Great for families but not for those who don't like crowded beaches.
There's a shower but it's out in the open plus it only had cold water. There's a place where you could get fast food (at the left side of the park after you enter).

The beach is big and the water is a hike from the parking lot. Quite difficult to carry lots of stuff of you don't have a cart

Free to veterans and military but entrance is $8 for those 18 and older.

By Wendy Z |

My adult daughter and I had a great day. Clean facilities and beautiful beach. A great day trip. Even with several camp groups in attendance, it was not at all crowded. Ho mid-week if possible.

By Lisa E |

Heard so much about this beach so we went. Unfortunately we left late on a Saturday, after 7 am and got stuck in traffic on the GSP. What should have taken 1 1/2 hours took 3. I assume responsibility for that but then the parking cost $7 plus another $7 for each adult. Long walk to actual water area as it is a large beach. Bathrooms gross. Water was also gross. Chocolate brown with yucky stuff floating in it. More south in Jersey was nicer water that day according to my friends who went to other beach areas. Also the drive through the town looked rundown. It took a long time to get from the beach to the GSP as well. Not worth going and will not go again.

By ViaggiatoriSicilia |

There is a fee to park and a fee to enter the beach. There are bathrooms and a shower to rinse off the sand, Very family oriented. Not much in the way of food/beverages. There are a few places outside the park and across the street - fortunately, you can exit and re-enter with your ticket. The area is condo intensive. The public beach is just a short distance. Personally, I would not return here as I prefer more of a boardwalk experience BUT if you pack a cooler of food and soft drinks and want to just relax all day on the beach, then this park is perfect for you.

By Amy F |

This is a nice little place to stop and take a breather while walking the boardwalk. This whole area is kept very clean and inviting.

By Hele |

You have to pay to visit this beach, it was $8 a person with kids under 17 free. Plus $8 to park.
It was however worth the money. The sands are golden and clean. There are sections for surfboards and life guards in attendance.
There is a shady picnic area, plus a covered area, cafe facilties, and clean toilets.

By Carmen D |

This is the fastest and easiest beach to get to from the Lehigh Valley. I come every summer. There is plenty of parking and plenty of beach. The cost is $7 per car and $7 per adult. There is a large covered pavilion where there are picnic tables and bathrooms. There are also plenty of outdoor showers to wash away all the sand before heading home. I did notice a small playground area on one side and a large beach volleyball area on the other side. The beach is quite large but walk-able. There are many life guards and the beach is very clean. The water is typically cooler than more southern locations and the surf is strong but there are always many people enjoying the waves and the sand. The sand has many smooth pebbles but is not rough so you don't have to wear water shoes. The beach is pretty full all day until the life guards leave at 5pm.

By Jennifer B |

Overall I was quite disgusted
Ive been coming for years, but Today was just done right dispicable.
First the Park Rangers at the parking lot were Rude!!!!!! Not Nice at All!

The young girl at the concession stand was rude as well. I Always bring my own food and after her nasty answer to me asking for a cup , I will continue to bring my own food to Another Beach!

Then I was in the bathroom not at the Pavillion, but the bathrooms to the Right of the Pavillion.. a custodian Walked into the Girls Bathroom from the back entrance, barged right in and went straight for the front entrance to lock the door!!!!!! Mothers were yelling as there were little girls and grown woman in there and he got very Belligerent at all of us. Completely nasty and Aggresive Now There is NO WAY this is Acceptable!!!! Im sorry but is this what 7 Presidents is about? Letting Belligerent workers work there? Male workers Enter a Female Bathroom? I ran out and tried to call the Police which come to find out cant take a telephone report. I saw a Park Ranger and tried to explain it to Her and she was completely remiss and useless. I cant even begin to tell you how Upset and disgusted I was and how I felt so bad for these mothers in there with their little gitls

I Will Never Recommend this place ever. Ive lived in Nj all my life and have been a beach person since Im alittle girl and I have never witnessed something as disgusting as this.

Shame on you 7 Presidents and Shame on that Male Worker

By Mike D |

So well groomed ,clean,& perfect. You can walk for miles. It puts you in a trance . The boardwalk is amazing. It's a must see & totally enjoy visit,

By allanjauregui |

For being the closest beach to the metropolitan area it's pretty good considering the fact you don't have to sit in much traffic to get to nor on the way back. I went there twice this year because traffic started to get really bad on the NJ parkway and this seemed like a quick escape. And both times I can say I enjoyed it however I find this water to be a bit murky compared to other beach's in NJ. I believe Jersey has either brown murky water from light brown to dark brown or green murky from light green to dark green. I would rate this as a dark brown murky, where as pt pleasant has a medium brown murky. If you enjoy public beach's like seven president check out Island beach state park if you don't mind the extra 40 min and/or traffic permitting where the water there is probably the cleanest being a light green with a hint of murkyness.

This park is a great place for kids to play in. Nice area. Clean and good parking. The best thing is that it's free.

By Heather G |

Very nice beach! Despite arriving at prime time (12:30) we had plenty of room to spread our things out. Love that it has a snack bar (the only draw back is that it was a little pricey) and very clean bathrooms. Next time we visit we will be sure to pack a lunch and bring more beach toys. Can't wait to go back!

By Christine M |

At first when we got off exit (105 off of GSP) we thought where the heck is the beach?? It is a pretty long drive from exit. Neighborhood on the nasty side... Never thought it could possibly be nice. To our surprise the beach was great! Clean, the playground was beautiful. Price is $7 for parking and $7 for each adult. There is a nice snack bar and a place to change. I recommend this place for a day trip.

The off-season is my favorite time at Seven Presidents Park. You have the sand, ocean and sun all to yourself. And heated bathrooms are open all year!

By BoyzMomma |

This is the second time we've visited this beach. Even though you have to pay, it's worth it. The beach is very clean and well-maintained, not crowded, and family-oriented. If you want to take a break from the beach itself, there is a playground for younger kids and a covered shelter area with a food counter, vending machines, and plenty of tables. Also lots of parking available.

By Gina D |

Roomy, clean beach with adequate parking in an uncrowded section of the Jersey Shore. Nice playground area for kids. Clean facilities.

By Jake1275 |

I went the day before Memorial Day so it was free to park and not that crowded the beach is pretty clean but the ocean is a little rocky and not soft on your feet still had a good time

By Debra S |

I grew up right in the area and go to the beaches there more than frequently. The park is now even better for going with children since there's now a playground, bathrooms, and food is available. I learned to surf there many years ago. It's well-maintained. I don't remember the cost of parking, but if you connect with the Monmouth County Park system, they will tell you. Not just the park itself, but the surrounding area is beautiful. There was a famous painter, Winslow Homer, whose painting, "Long Branch, New Jersey" sold last for close to $40 million. It's obviously not the same era now, but the area stayed in character as a long, carefree summer place. And on the 4th of July, the fireworks are great.

By MoonDoggieDonna |

Was here for a club's event. As usual, the facility was spotless. If you have kids, there is a lot to do besides sitting on the beach. Oh, and the rangers are always available and helpful. Guess it helped that the weather was perfect, too LOL

By Heather K |

Clean, worth the $, kids had fun and could walk about without alot of supervision. Check it out 4 urself, you will enjoy it. Beach food too.
No vacation this year. Monies too tight.
But next year i will go again!

By SmitMLS1 |

I've been to this beach twice. Both times it was not crowded at all. It's a nice beach to enjoy the day. If you have little ones, there is a beautiful playground just off the beach. There are outdoor showers and indoor changing rooms and restrooms. I recommend checking out nearby Pier Village as well. Lots of nice restaurants and shopping.

By K S |

They offer snack bar, restrooms, showers and also a playground. The beach is clean and has lots of parking available

By sharonhick |

this beach is accessible to those with disabilities. The ramp goes over the sand down toward the water.
The young people at the entrance aren't fast moving or efficient. You're sure to wait to enter on a busy week day. Can't imagine it on weekends.
The cost is 8.00 for the car and 8.00 each adult. Thinking expensive for a large group. The handicapped parking spaces were full near the bath house, we had to park rather far away. The handicapped sticker doesn't get free admission as in some other parks we frequent. I'll go back. The bath house is clean and the life guards are attentive.

7 presidents really did stay in Long Branch. Nice family beach with lots of restaurants and stores close to the ocean.

By monaluv732 |

This is one of my favorite beaches at the shore! It's a bit pricey to get it but it does include parking. There's also a nice playground for the kiddies and a food stand.

I can't rate Seven Presidents as Excellent, but it is Very Good. If you've been all along the Jersey Shore, Wildwood is an example of an excellent beach. Seven Presidents is fairly clean, the sand is slightly pebbly so it's not the softest we've experienced, there was not anyone smoking on the beach, and the surf is good. It was low tide and there aren't any tidal pools, and the surf is slightly rough but much better than Point Pleasant or Asbury with the big drop where you can easily get pummeled. There are lifeguards until 5 pm. The beach is large enough to hold a lot of people but was not overcrowded on a Saturday afternoon. Bathrooms are fairly clean (relatively speaking) and there are a couple of outside showers. There is a nice playground. 4 stars though because this is what it is. Just a basic beach. There is no boardwalk or food stands, etc to speak of (other than what looks like a snack bar that was closed). If you are looking for simply a beach experience that is closer to Northern NJ, family oriented, and inexpensive then this is very good. Parking is $7 for the day and there is meter parking outside the entrance. Fees to get in are $7 a person. Weekdays kids under 18 are free weekends only 12 and under are free. If you arrive at 4 pm, you can all get in for free and there is no parking fee either. I would go again with my kids on a weekday for a quick ride and a decent beach.

By Colleen P |

Enjoy a stroll along an upscale beach community with outstanding restaurants and shops. Parking is tricky, but if you dine at Ocean Place or enjoy a spa treatment, you will park in their lot for free all day. Don't miss Ocean Place!

By silvag188 |

This a secluded and not very well known beach with plenty of parking and bathroom/shower facilities. Great beach with dunes for privacy from the main road.

By Dinerdon |

Nice kids park, clean beach. Off season so there was parking. Don't know how it is in peak summer. We like the off season better. Restrooms and easy access to beach. nice place to fly a kite.

By shartli |

Solid choice of a clean family friendly beach. The only downer is it is a bit pricey.

Facilities are newish and decent. The beach is groomed and clean. Parking is pretty good.

By FANNYJACQUELINE |

This place is spacious, the facilities are clean and it has plenty of parking and snack bar. It has plenty of showers and rooms to change and it's not too far from where I live, so I was satisfied.

By cec10591 |

Nice beach and nice people. Just make sure that you sit near where the bathrooms are, otherwise it is a hard long walk. Signs on beach should be clearer though. You have to swim where you see most people swimming. The other areas leading into the water are for fishing. THEY SHOULD POST THIS BECAUSE I GOT BITE BY A CRAB ON THE FOOT AND OTHERS GOT FISHING HOOKS IN THEIR FOOT!

By AbleRiot |

The beach area is one of the cleanest I have seen in the Jersey Shore. The facilities are well maintained and clean compared to other beaches. There is also a kids area off the beach, but in the same "parking lot" that is great for kids of varying ages. For a small fee of $7/adult and $7 all day enclosed lot parking fee, it's a small price to pay for a fun day down the shore.

By Dennis Co |

Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park is a military-friendly beach in close proximity to the Central New Jersey area that offers on-site amenities; in turn, it provides a packaged beach experience for your average beach-goer looking for an easy beach trip without extensive planning.

The first glaring difference that the beach at Seven Presidents has from most of the other beaches in the Jersey Shore suite is the shore-front parking. While there is a parking fee (this includes entry onto the beach), you are ultimately paying for the convenience and the amenities available on site which is warranted in most cases after a lengthy drive to a destination for relaxation rather than the added stress of trying to find street side parking. There appeared to be easily over 100 parking spaces on the property so it shouldn't be an issue if you arrive early or come during non-peak days.

After parking, you will generally walk through pavilion with a veranda area sheltering picnic tables in the center as you head toward the beach. Here you will find restrooms with showers, concessions stand, rinsing stations, and other shaded seating areas. The facility is well kept while the entire staff on the premises were super friendly and helpful.

Surprisingly, the concessions stand is more robust than expected, offering a range of fairly priced, decent eats from breakfast (served during early hours) and lunch, as well as other on-the-go snacks and drinks.

The beach itself is arguably what you would find for an average Jersey Shore beach, being that it is fairly well kept. You start off with fine sand as you walk onto the beach. There are debris and other seafaring articles that litter the sand as one might expect the closer you get to the water. The sand then extends about 10 meters into the waves before the sediment become larger in the size of stones and pebbles underneath the waters. During the day we went, the surf and swells were rather sizeable - great for bodyboarding and surfboarding. The lifeguard stations were well-manned and the life guards themselves appeared to be trained, alert, and proactive.

While we did not visit the playground, we were aware there was one on the property and it was one of the factors in our consideration to come to Seven Presidents.

Overall, this is a great beach, especially for an impulsive/impromptu trip!

By 27worldtraveler |

It has a large beach large grassy area mini picnic tables. Good for a long day of relaxation. Easy to find and plenty of parking

By 956garryg |

This State Park is relatively inexpensive ($8 per person, I think you get a discount per carload) There are a wealth of facilities and staff supporting this beach at the central shore, including: lifeguard, showers, snack bar, playground, lots of parking,

By Vanessa B |

Coming from No Jersey it's a quick drive down and not too far on the parkway to get slammed in traffic. Parking lot $7, and then $7 to get on the sand. There's a short boardwalk with a few restaurants and shops. There's not much going on that he streets are packed but enough that it feels like summer!

By Joefiss316 |

This is a very nice beach that stands out from others. The showers are convenient and are far from the sand compared to other beaches. It is also cleaner than other beaches. Sometimes the lifeguards can be unclear on who they are talking to when they are sitting at the stands so a bunch of people occasionally get confused if they are talking to them or not. There should also be more lifeguards as well but the rest of the beach is very good.

By Jackie624 |

Beach is very clean, food is good. Btw always get there when the park opens, otherwise you'll have to wait like 2 hours to get a parking spot. I was the third car there, so I got a perfect parking spot and a spot on the beach close to the water. Also lifeguards are there a 10, so surfing lessons are just in the water before then. Bathrooms and showers are very clean, very safe place.

By Just Carlin |

Clean, great place to rest.
Pack food not many food options, life guards are on point... Nice neighborhood and good people I would come back again.

By Lorraine K |

Part of the Monmouth County Park system, Seven Presidents has everything you need to have a perfect day at the shore: great beach, sand dunes, lifeguards, snack bar and vending machines, showers, bathrooms, and a playground for kids. It can get crowded, especially on weekends. There is an admission and parking fee, but if you go after 4 pm. it is free. Wonderful place for families. You can walk along the shore both north and south for miles.

By Mike J |

Nice beach, well kept, has snack bar, clean bathroom facilities. Reasonable admission and parking, they limit the number of cars to keep from overcrowding.

By xraysta |

The facilities are perfect for families. The park can't be beat! This beach makes it easy for parents to come and relax with their children!

By Richard S |

A typical New Jersey beach but has good access and plentiful parking Has life Guards. Has food stands and bathrooms and changing facilities. A moderate length walk to the beach from the parking

By CHoppe730 |

The beach was recommended by friends. We visited on a Friday @ 12:30, and I found parking on the street almost immediately, metered at $2/hour. The girl at the beach booth said they've rarely check the meters. We parked our gear in the sand n the kids hit the water, noticing a rock jetty. Of course they were looking for crabs n other cool stuff, when a lifeguard came over to tell us we were in a no swimming zone between flags...grr. So we go to the guarded zone and the kids had a blast swimming and boogie boarding. The waves were easy and gentle, not a lot of heavy surf. It was nice but we actually prefer a bit larger waves. Great for littler kids. It was a great day until i started paying attention to the garbage...I'm a big proponent of leaving nothing but footprints, picking up three pieces of plastic before you leave, yada yada...but the amount of garbage on the beach, and in the water was astounding. The clincher for me was the diaper and brown diaper wipe that floated past my kids!!! Oh hell no...that garbage was way too fresh to have fallen from a garbage barge! Yuck! Ruined my good feelings about this beach.

My wife and I come here often during the summer months. I am a vet and we get in for free. The beech is clean and they have
a very good food snack stand that is also clean. This is one of the best beeches in NJ.

We love it.

Made the mistake of going here for the 4th. It was madness, people were all over the place, and rude. That is not the fault of the park. That being said, they did not handle the festivities properly. They should have made a path and roped off the board walk so you didn't get trampled trying to watch the fireworks. This was not well thought out. We thought we were being smart by leaving early, halfway through the show, but the police had every right hand road blocked and had everyone going the same way. We were stuck in traffic for 1 1/2 hours, and I was sick from the stupid feather pillows from the hotel, which I am highly allergic to. It was a nightmare! Forget it if you have to go to the bathroom, they had porta potties at the beginning of the park, so once you are inside, and you walk far, you are doomed if you need a restroom. Will never do this again on a holiday, lesson learned the hard way!!

By robsden |

Wonderful beach, cleaned every day. This place was not at all busy for the 3 week days we were there. There are life guards on site. The cost is 7 for parking the car and 7 for each adult - very cheap compared with other Jersey shore location of comparable quality. This said, there are no amenities and no boardwalk experience, the waves are big and the water in July was cold... Overall though, lovely wide beach and definitely worth going.

I took my niece age 13, myself 71, and my vehicle and paid $28.00. I believe we were overcharged. If that was the case please refund my money.

Long Branch is the place to be to relax and enjoy the beachl
Whether it is Presidents Park, or further north at Sandy Hook -- NJ and Monmouth County is great

By Mary Kay V |

Easily accessible, off season not crowded, great place to walk on beach playground for children worth stop

By Mariab1963 |

I liked how convenient it was, that veterans got in free. We enjoyed it, but there were no indoor showers. The beach reminded me of Ocean City, Maryland.

By Mike K |

8$ per adult, $8 parking. Very clean and extra lifeguards seemed to be on duty, and on the ball. Food is good and not to crazy on the wallet. Changing and bathrooms, showers. Very clean facilities. Water was a little rough, but this ain't no wildwood so what you see is what you get.

By fourmom1840 |

i chose this location to visit the shore becaue it was one of the first beaches you reach coming down to south jersey. the online information could use some work...i could not find out how much it costs to get on the beach/park. it was very reasonably priced ($8/car plus $8 per person) and reasonably clean, although there were some pieces of garbage and food on the beach...folks should do better cleaning up after themselves. we went in thru am entrance that was apparently at the far end of the park so there were only porto johns...i see from other reviews there are showers, bathrooms, etc. probably at the other end of the park we did not visit.

there was plenty of room and the crowd was very family oriented and calm/quiet. you can bring coolers. it would have been great if more of this information was included online. parking was close to the beach so the walk was short. i didn;t see umbrella/chair rentals so not sure about that.

By BS9988 |

Seven Presidents Park provides a convenient, safe, clean, and responsible facility for a stress-free day at the beach. Parking is close to the main building and right up against the beach access area. During posted hours, the lifeguards are very attentive and gracious in responding to rule violations, such as swimming outside the designated areas. Look for blue swim trunks rather than the typical red at most New Jersey beaches. Ample room to change clothing, great restroom facilities (fairly clean), and basic concession stand food and beverages that you can take on to the beach.

By flo220 |

A nice beach on the Jersey Shore in Long Branch. One of many but this works if you want to be closer to NYC.

By Joseph |

I was looking for a fun place to go with my wife and teenage Daughter. based on all the reviews I was counting on making this a central part of our vacation day, I was very disappointed.
The picnic area is nice but a bit to loud. The beachfront was a total bust. nothing to do there, I had a much nicer experience going to the beachfront a quarter mile down near the Waze hotel area.

By jfbgianni |

Great beach to relax alone or with friends and family. Easy to park. Toilets and showers are clean. Snack bar and great playground as well. Accessible for everyone. Go early because it gets crowed on the weekend.

By scrappermom1011 |

Love this beach! It is clean and well maintained. It has a snack bar and bathroom facilities. You can bring coolers and food on the beach. there are lifeguards on duty and there is adequate parking - most in the overflow parking so the walk is a little longer but nothing unusual. Great, clean beach. Great for families! Note: right down the street from Pier Village.

By agavarny |

Clean, beautiful park and beach. One of our favorite spots in Monmouth county. They do have parking available, however it is first come first serve.

By karenwallkill |

We took a day trip to Seven Presidents Oceanfront park. I read the reviews before going and I have to say, this beach is so beautiful and clean. My kids loved it. They have a playground on the beach for the kids. snack bar, clean restrooms and a outside shower for rinsing the sand. The beach itself was so clean!!! We will be visiting again.....

By Christy W |

My family and I stopped here after visiting NYC, and we are so glad that we did. There is a charge to get into the park ($24/adults), but the park has clean showers and restroom facilities, a covered picnic area, concession stands and a walkway down to the beach and on the sand. It was not overly crowded, either. It was relatively quiet as most were reading or resting, but children can plY at the edge of the water. The lifeguards are attentive to the patrons. Overall, a pleasant experience.

By Angela Y |

As a "local" I don't normally go to the beach on the weekends but..this weekend we did. I choose this beach because it is walking distance to Pier Village and it is very clean! The cost was $8 to get on which is the going rate for the area beaches. Parking was another $8 to me that was not bad considering we could stay the entire day. We could walk to Pier Village have lunch or have Drink at the Tiki bar at the Ocean Place. If your have children this beach has beautiful playground. The lifeguards are very attentive.
We were a couple just looking for some quiet time in the sand. If this is you DON'T GO HERE...I recommend this beach to FAMILIES!!! Even tho we attempted to set ourselves apart near the rope of the sand dunes.. There were still a lot of screaming kids. One family in front of us had a football and Frisbee.. Really?
