Just a short walk in the woods and you have rolling waters - as clear as can be - and waterfalls galore! How cute!! Got some great pics!

This place is a hidden gem. If you’re looking for a short hike with beautiful scenery, this is the place. There are some steep drop offs around the water so kids need to be careful. The water is freezing year round but doesn’t seem to faze anyone or keep them from swimming. There are many trails above and below the falls but very short. The park us very well maintained and clean. Park rangers are present in the summer. I would definitely recommend taking a couple hours and checking this pkace out.

It's a nice place to hike I agree with that. The scenery is beautiful and peaceful. However I didn't see anything that made it stand out or differ from nature trails closer to home. If in the area come and check it out but don't drive 30 or 40 miles for it.

Seven Tubs Natural Area is minutes from I-81 and easy to find. There is plenty of parking at the trail head and the parking lot is very close to one of the most dramatic views of the park - the waterfalls and pools. There is a loop path of approximately 2 miles in length - it is an easy walk for the most part. Footing is pretty good but you do need to be careful walking across exposed outcrops of bedrock. The valley is shaded and the rocks can be slippery. It is very quiet and the views are spectacular within the valley.

Visited on a rainy, cool day, but can see how this would be a fantastic place to spend a hot summer day!

This was a great hike. We took our time took many pictures, explore and sat to take in the beauty, No public bathroom, is does have a port-a-potty, which was not in great shape. Next time we go we will take our grandchildren!

Not for toddlers. Roots...rocks. 1.8 mile seemed like 4 miles. But first park hike from parking lot is very doable for most and incredibly gorgeous waterfall.

I took an hour this morning while working today get out and get some fresh air and found this gem on TripAdvisor. What a great spot - it’s minutes from town and provides several options from a shoe walk to longer hikes of more than two miles. The creek and it’s falls/tubs are spectacular and well worth a visit. The trails along the creek can be a little rough - but I walked it how morning in dress shoes so it’s certainly not too difficult.

A short ride from downtown Wilkes- Barre PA, 7 Tubs is a gorgeous place to hike, with most of the trails running parallel to creeks, streams, falls, and their main attraction, natural tubs.

I have been to the Tubs too many times to count. It is a nice area to hike along the tubs. In the summer it is a nice place to cool off. The water is always cold and refreshing on a hot summer day.

It's cute - nothing too crazy, but something fun to do during the summer to cool off a bit. It could get quite crowded though, so be ready for this when it's super hot out!

Just on the south side of Wilkes Barre. Trail goes both uphill and down along two joining streams. Going up from the nice walking bridge over the stream is more strenuous/rocky and can be a bit hazardous when wet. Trail can be slippery and could be a 30+ foot drop into the water. Nice if dry. Several nice waterfalls / erosional "Tubs" along the upstream route.
Walk down hill after crossing the walking bridge and go along a pretty flat area along a very nice stream with small rapids.
Not much maintenance there. Fair bit of trash, and the Port-A-Potty by the lower parking lot was one of the worst I have seen. Go before you get there.
Overall though, a nice place to visit for a couple hours.

The entrance to the trails is not well marked. I did not see a good map telling us which way to go. There was a road blocked to traffic to the right and a path to the left. We decided to go left. After a short walk, there were uneven rocky steps to the first tub and a waterfall, which was beautiful. We climbed up rocks to the bridge. There were steep, rocky trails along the waterfall before and after the bridge and a steep rocky downhill trail after the bridge. My husband and I are in our 60's and I didn't want to climb up and down rocky steps to tackle any of these trails. Several kids came by and took the downhill trail no problem at all. If there was an easier trail I did not know where it was. I will have to try to find trails online at Seven Tubs to find the easier ones. My summary what I saw was beautiful, older people may have trouble with the rocky, steep trails, it is not well marked.

We made this a stop on our honeymoon.
Not too hard of a hike for us, ages 50-60.
I rated a four and not five because much of the views were spoiled by water bottles and garbage people left behind. Shame on them!

Nice walk in the woods along a spectacularly beautiful natural wonder. This is a very small park but is worth the trip off the beaten path. Spend 30-45 minutes enjoying the beauty and majesty of water.

Beautiful local spot for hiking. The trails can be a bit steep in places but not so challenging that casual hikers would have any issues. Currently the state of Pennsylvania (DCNR) is taking control of the place from Luzerne County, they are promising to improve the park over what was being done by the cash strapped county.

Had a nice peaceful hike at 7 tubs. Was serene and beautiful. Very quiet mid week in September. Was a bit difficult to find as sign from road not very visible. The trail was not difficult. Saw some beautiful birds

Very beautiful area. Seems a bit dangerous in parts of the trail where one must walk on slippery rocks.

Great hike, even in winter. There are lot of creeks converging and the area is very beautiful. Easy hike with kids.

This a beautiful location for a younger crowd and hot pick up spot.It has excellent rooms over looking waterfalls. The falls can be heard throughout your room if you just leave your door open a crack.

Was eager to check out the site given the reviews on TripAdvisor. It did not disappoint for us.
Drive in to the park is a little tricky, especially coming from rt115 s. There's no advance signs telling you when to turn and once you get to it, the right turn is about 120 degree.
But once you get there, it's pretty straight forward. The wooden bridge would be the main spot to see. From there, we followed the hiking trail with the yellow markers. We started going down first which I think is quieter and more relaxing for starting off. It was a fairly easy hike with the whole path taking around 1 1/2 hrs. Very interesting to see how the water has carved its way through the land and the trees growing around the area (and trough the rocks!).
Didn't witness any drug deals or lots of garbage along the path. Though if I read some of the reviews sooner, I would definitely make sure nothing of value would be in plain view in the car.

Gorgeous setting and walkways of natural waterfalls and rock slides. 5 minute drive from Mohegan Sun Casino Worth the trip especially in the summer

Observed the falling waters of the beautifully carved landscape. There are nice hiking trails but due to the rain, we avoided them

We did this hike for our anniversary..we were a bit scared because we're still beginners and don't know much so we were scared really for bears but we went ahead anyways. Beautiful views and a nice scenery through the trails right along the water which took about 2 hours to go around. I could've sworn I saw a bear but it could've been my eyes playing tricks on me. I back tracked and went on the other trail but I was so scared that I didn't even want to double check of what I had seen. Just becareful! It was very slippery by the water but the trails are marked pretty good so it's def a nice workout and good to take pics..hope you enjoy! We surely did😀

My wife found this nice area on-line. It's just a few minutes from Wilkes-Barre and is easy to get to. We spent a couple of hours on a very pretty fall day, just hiking the trail, taking pictures, and enjoying nature. The trail is pretty easy. It made for a very relaxing, enjoyable day. Be careful and don't get too close to the edge of the rocks.

This was a great walk with really cool geological formations and short enough to be enjoyable but strenuous enough to also get the heart moving so it was really fun. I haven’t seen that type of formation of these types of tubs and sequence before so that was really neat.

The best place near the town to have time with nature and walk. Nice streams of water ensure that you like the place

Pick a nice day, pack a lunch, get your camera, head out with your family and enjoy this beautiful area! If it is a warm enough day, cool off the stream. You will not be disappointed!!

I wrote a review here before and since then, they have fixed it up nicely! They widened and extended the parking area. They added a Porto potty and they cleaned up the trail and widened that in some areas as well. They removed the graffiti and added picnic tables. I have to say they improved it significantly. My biggest complaint is that there are no garbage cans so people will leave their garbage on the ground. I love the semi difficult at times hike, the nature, the general beauty of this place!

I’m going to throw some mild shade on this hike. We were there in the middle of the week and only found a few people venturing around; as a result, I can’t judge the potential activity. I was carrying a camera, so I found a hiking pole very helpful, especially over the rocky inclines. They aren’t as deliberate looking as the photo I have beginning the trail by the parking lot bridge. I wore hiking shoes, but even so, I found coming down the rocks/steps sketchier than ascending. Be especially careful if it has recently rained as some of the rocks could afford you a nice slide. There are plenty of opportunities to turn an ankle.
You can go to the edges and look down into the tubs. There are no barriers, at least early on. I wondered how secure the ground was close to the edge, so I didn’t push my luck; otherwise a bath may be in store.
There were people traveling alone, but I don’t think I’d take the 1.8 mile hike without Lassie being there to tell someone I fell into the well. Dogs are permitted.
In order to expose for the dark tubs, I lowered my shutter speed, which also created the silky flow of water. If you don’t take a tripod there are plenty of rocks to use as a rest for preventing camera shake.
Take your time, wear good shoes and consider a pole to help steady yourself, especially coming down. Remember to take out any trash you create in the area. There’s a sign indicating to throw litter in a bin, but there are no trash receptacles. Take your trash with you. There are two porta-potties by the parking lot, but it wouldn’t hurt to bring your own Purell.
Happy Trails!

I think this is a beautiful little spot. Really cool geological feature with a serious of little falls. Ample parking and not busy on the day in November we went. We hiked on both sides of the falls. A quick easy hike with wheel chair access is available. Also a bit more challenging hike is available on either side of the falls. We also took a hike along the stream at the bottom and found some nice little pools and swift moving water. Really nice tranquil hike on this November day.

GPS couldn't find it. It wasn't noted on any highway sign. If the TripAdvisor map is accurate, we drove right past it at about 35 miles an hour, so would have seen a sign. Waste of time and gasoline.

I spend alot of time in this area and it's really nice area to explore either by hiking or mountain bike riding .. if hiking....make sure you have good hiking shoes on for some areas can be slippery along the creek or tubs....or sometimes it just nice to go by the water to be refreshed when its hot and humid ....I am happy to hear that Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources now owns this area .....

Great place to hike with natural surroundings. Unfortunately many visitors don't clean up after themselves. Recently taken over by DCNR.

Nature in a setting that has been hardly touched by people is always worth seeing. It is visually beautiful, regardless of the season. Each has its own beauty. Durable shoes, appropriate clothes for hiking and careful observance of trails is a necessity.

Just visited Seven Tub Natural Area this past weekend. I saw the reviews on Tripadvisor and had to make it one of our stops on our weekend getaway. The view was breathtaking. I would not recommend this site to those with little children as there are no barriers on the cliffs. The parking lot was trashy as there was broken glass in the parking lot so be careful where you park. We got there early and parking wasn't a problem. By the time we left the parking lot was full and people were parking along the roadside. We did see a police patrol car come through the parking lot which was a plus knowing that they do patrol the area. Walking along the bottom portion of the cliffs was fairly easy and we got a lot of good pictures. It would have been better had there been a map posted of the area so you knew where to get the best views. It wouldn't take much to improve this area. If you travel here please take your trash with you when you leave. It's a Natural area so lets please pitch it and keep it available for others to see.

Crime in parking area and woods.Known for drug deal and usage, would be nice if properly maneaged and maintained.

This is a beautiful area due to the many water falls, each one different from the last. There is a loop trail which provides both beautiful streams and natural pleasures in higher elevations.

My wife and I walked the trail to see this natural area. The waterfalls and pools are worth seeing. While walking by one of the pools we saw a snake and heard lots of birds that we tried to identify. The walk to the bridge is easy and the trails though steep are easy to negotiate. If you are in this area it is worth seeing.

Beautiful, strenuous hike along a rushing mountain stream. Swimming in the pools is not allowed but is so tempting!

Def take the time to check it out, espeically with sneakers! I think that's what held us back, and time~

Its definately a place to go see, from hiking to jumping of 30 foot cliffs into natural pools, you wont be dissipointed.

It is a beautiful place. We walked the trail... but when we got back to the car, my window was smashed out and my purse stolen :(

If you can handle the walking, the tubs are so worth it. I would recommend wear swimming shoes, and definitely Do Not recommend this for children under 10, without direct adult supervision. This area is Not life guard monitored, so it's at your own risk, which means you are responsible; be responsible especially around any child. Keep it clean by taking your trash with you because this is a natural forrest beauty.

We geocache and visited Seven Tubs as the result of a geocache located there. It's worth a visit ... we took dozens of pictures as we hiked toward the top.

Recently hike the loop trail and would have hike the Audubon trial had we had more time. Recent rain had the water flowing very well which made it all the better.

Spent Easter weekend in Wilkes-Barre and was loking for something to do. Using Trip Advisor we came upon Seven Tubs Natural Area. It is just a short drive from most hotels and very easy to find. Lots of parking was available. It would be nice and helpful if there was some type of trail map posted to help first time users find the trail start. But it wasn't that hard to do. The trail is marked once you find it. Trees are marked in blue paint every 15 feet or so and the actual path is fairly worn. The area is extremely beautiful and lots of opportunities to take pictures. It wasn't very busy while we were there. There are some picnic areas but lots of places along the trail to stop for a break. The trail is not flat so it is recommended for someone that is sure footed. I would recommend at least a couple hours or more if you want to take your time. Highly recommend.

Very nice beautiful park lots of different trails to go on. There is no markings but if you have a sense of direction you will be just fine.

Trash found along the trail in several locations. No trash cans at site. Trail is very short. Relaxing early in the day around lynch got crowded and no longer enjoyable.

A precious treasure of the Wyoming Valley just a short drive from the city. Ample parking and well maintained trails. Be very careful traversing the Tubs loop trail as there are very steep drop offs close to the path. A very unique and gorgeous place...just be sure not to litter this natural area. Leave nothing but footprints.

Beautiful park and views! However, not for carrying a toddler on your back if you have the balance of a lollipop like myself! I would say 5 and up! Parking was a little tight.

I visited the park January 2019. It was a last minute thing and was not prepare for the hike however its a very short walk to beautiful scenario of water falls. I went with my daughter who enjoys photography and this was just a perfect place for it. It was not that cold. The parking lot was empty a couple of people in the park. The water was very clear, we didn't get to walk much but are definitely planing to go back in the summer. This place is a hidden gem.

The walk along the surging waters was excellent. The trail is- a bit wet and muddy at times but I'd highly recommend it. There are awesome views of fast flowing water falls and turbulent streams. We found several geocache sites. See if you can find the custom made gnome with his small home.

Natural beauty minutes from Pocono Lake, in the Poconos. Good shoes are a must as there are a lot of roots and rocks.

Erosion from the retreating glaciers created seven very interesting pools.
These sorts of pools are features of many glaciated regions, and in some places rocks were turned into stone cannonballs by the swirling water.
I tried to find some cannonballs in these pools but couldn't find any. I guess I'll have to go back to the Alps.
What a burden being a tourist is! :-)

this is an awesome place to hike. there are a few small trails that go along the river, and i'm sure there are longer ones that i haven't been on yet. the parking isn't the best, but i've never seen it too busy that i couldn't find a spot

Went here on a Monday in mid-June '18. We were looking for something not too hard, but enough to get a good workout. We followed the falls at first (to the right) and really enjoyed all the water flows and foliage (probably past peak, though). Once at the top, we made a mistake and missed the marker and went down a small trail. After seeing some animal scat and encountering a snake (this is nature, folks), we went back up and found the right trail and made it down again. It appears there are various berries (including blue and some type of black/red) but not the season yet. To us, it was the perfect length, temperature, and scenery we were looking for and less than 10 minutes from our hotel. We did check ourselves for ticks afterwards and I found one on me that hadn't sunk in - be careful.

If you need a quiet place to meditate, walk the beautiful trail along the bubbling brook. This place is also great for taking pictures, reading a book on one of its many rock formations. Make sure you wear good and sturdy shoes for the best experience.

I really love going to this area. It is a wonderful county park, about 20 minutes from downtown Wilkes-Barre. There are natural tubs, that flow into each other! There are also trails for hiking, that are marked off! Easy to enter a stream, adjacent to the tub area. It is a free park with plenty of free parking. Since there are no lifeguards, swimming is not available. However, it is a nice place to hang your feet to cool off on a hot day; and a nice area to find a peaceful place to relax.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful place to go hiking! Go beyond the power lines and you'll see more cool stuff

I LOVED this place!! I was in awe every where I went here..
BUT.. people have definitely ruined it. You can tell while driving by all of the different parking lots that people are meeting up for whatever reason- drugs, sex, etc.
Also, the breaking of the windows is scary. We have only gone once and will not go again due to the risk of having our car windows broken.
When we came back from our ~1.5/2 hour walk, FOUR cars' windows were broken, and the cops were there. This happens all the time, and it is either just a bunch of punks or gang territory..

Beautiful nature spot but needs some upkeep by the parks dept. Can be a beautiful attraction if some investment was put into making it safe and attractive! The area needs to invest in its natural beauty.

The stream runs down a narrow cleft in the mountain . Could be a beautiful place but the trash is everywhere. Tires, cans, toilet paper and the list goes on. Lot of broken glass in parking area. Not easy to photograph. Calls for care as some places can be slippery and steep places. Never seen such littering. Seems the county has abandoned the place and no one in community cares to make it better. Won't go back.

My wife grew up in Wikes-Barre, and wanted to spend a day there on out stacation. I was looking for some interesting things to do and saw the Seven Tubs Natural Area. Some nice easy walking paths (and some difficult ones) we spent about 45 minutes on 2 of the easier paths, and enjoyed ourselves. Nice quiet way to spend some time.

This is a completely free location. If you come to scranton/wilkes barre during the spring summer or fall you have no excuse since it is solo close.

But what's with all the pairs of shoes left on rocks in the parking area?!? Anyway, we stopped here to check out the waterfalls and get in a little exercise while in the area for a concert. We met some people who actually slid down the waterfalls from tub to tub and while the water was cold, they said it was fun. We saw others cooling off in some of the deeper tubs too. The trails are steep and damp rocks are deceptively slippery. My husband slipped and fell but did not get hurt and didn't fall off into the ravine, but it would be ashy to do so. Definitely keep a hand on your small kids or pets! We found the railroad tracks above the tunnel but never found the hobbit house tree that is in the photos. Lots of Mountain Laurel in bloom made it look very pretty!

Took my 10year old daughter to 7tubs and had a great time. I had heard about it years ago and finally got around to checking it out. We walked a trail that runs parallel to the creek. Not a tough walk at all. About a half mile up, we turned around and descended via the creek. There are natural "slides" that lead to small pools of water. Some of which were over my head! Luckily for us, there was a group of nice teens that showed us the ropes. Once we got up the nerve, we dove in. Just have to be careful because the rocks can be very slippery. Overall we had an awesome day. Would definitely go back!!!

Pretty small area and easy trail. Would not plan a day here but would be a nice lunch stop with fun water features

This beauty is a quick 10-minute drive from Wilkes-Barre on Route 115. And from Route 115, a short drive to the parking areas and a quick walk get you to the water and trails in minutes. The water flowing through the rocks is amazing to see. We visited on July 4 so it was busy with teens and young adults swimming in the cool water. I felt safe, but noticed many signs posted not to leave belongings in cars, so be prudent. There are many trails but it's not easy going in places. Wear proper footwear. It was noticeably cooler in the ravine areas. It's a quick escape from the summer heat of the city.

Lovely place to visit. Clean and well kept trails. Water is crystal clear and tempting. A nice way to spend the afternoon.

This is a great place to take the family. The trails are easy and pretty easy to walk. It's beautiful at anytime of year.

It was a hot day. Parking was limited. Many people there in water. Hike was nice, they are repairing and upgrading the hiking areas. The tubs were full. Rocks were slick when wet. Be safe.

This is a very nice place to hike and with walking stick in hand the entire trail can be handled by less experienced hikers who just take their time and rest after the difficult parts (no, grand-parents will not be able to do this but some very young kids had no problems). So why go early? As we were leaving at noon-ish we saw entire families with coolers and bags and bags of groceries trekking towards the lower falls. I can only assume these are the people leaving trash behind because they have never been in the woods before and assume some custodial staff must come at night to clean up after them.

Easy walk to from parking lot about 100yrds. The falls are at the beginning of the trail. The shallow side to the right of the bridge is usually loaded with little kids. There is another swimming hole to the left of the bridge for older people. You can hike the trial at the bottom of parking lot to the right, easy flat, or you can do the loop which follows the river and then cuts across the top of the mountain and comes back down to the parking lot! Summer weekends are crowded and parking maybe full, fall and winter are nice and less crowded. The falls freeze over creating a nice photo opportunity without a long walk!

Well marked paths, beautiful streams and lots of quiet places for reflection. The rocky paths were a little challenging, but walking near the water was worth the effort.

Nice area to hike with the family. They have some nice biking trails as well. I wish people wouldn't litter as much, but that seems to be normal around here (unfortunately).

We visited here on August 21, 2018. The entrance to the seven tubs park is only accessible from PA 115 south. If you are on the north side, you have to go half a mile down the road and make a uturn. We missed the turn the first time and ended up driving an extra few miles to get back.
The parking lot was pretty empty, but it was 3pm on a Wednesday. There are a few port o pottys in the parking area. There is a little hike past some benches and a picnic table to get to the bridge above the waterfalls. Past the bridge, you can hike down the hill to get to the bottom of the waterfalls. It is beautiful. My kiddos found a fairy door. I've seen multiple people post pictures of fairy doors but none of them matched the one we saw. The hike down the hill wasn't hard. (Not stroller or wheelchair accessible though.) Our 3 year old was able to walk along with us just fine.
If you love nature or waterfalls, this is a must see.

It's a short walk from the parking lot view to the runs. From there we followed the yellow blazes that loops you out from a bridge and the runs through a woodsy type trail and back to the runs. You cross a few brooks balancing your self on rocks. Our medium sized dog had no problem walking through the water. Hike is not strenuous but be careful of slippery rocks and tree roots on the trails. Parts of the trails are wide, other parts require single file due to narrowness. Entire hike took about 1:15.

I was in the Wilkes-Barre area and read about this local park. I decided to check it out. It is a very scenic and natural area. Running water cascades down a rock ravine and several pools have formed in the rocks. There are trails to walk and one is very rugged and hilly. There was another trail to the right of the footbridge that you will cross in which the terrain slowly sloped upward and this was not a tough walk. The trail that goes to the left off of that bridge is steeper and you better have good hiking shoes. Many people were taking photos. Some of them looked like pros. Some people were bathing in the pools although signs posted say that's not allowed. But there were some areas where you could be alone on the trails and all you would hear is the gushing water. The temperature under the canopy of trees was cooler. You may want to bring some bug spray. There was a small picnic area. I'm glad I went. It is relaxing there.

My review seems a lot different then the other reviews. My girlfriend loves waterfalls so I wanted to try this place. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. We found a little waterfalls but did a lot of walking to find them. We found what we think might have been the tubs, same thing--they were interesting but it seemed like a lot of walking to get a limited return. With that said we might not have went the right way. As one of the other reviewers said there is little direction or markings. Some of the pictures seem to be of things that we didn't ever find. We did end up spending about 2 hours wandering around. It wasn't a total waste but we never saw impressive waterfalls I was expecting.

Amazing views of the river cutting through the rocks and making tubs. Lots of beautiful waterfalls and tubs. Great place to hike and take your shoes off if you get warm. Seen other Falls and nature areas but this was the best. Traveled with two seniors and 3 kids 2-6.

I am accustomed to Natural Areas being clean and quiet. Boom boxes? But it was the trash that really got me. dirty diapers, take out containers with un eaten food bottles. We won't be back.

I regularly hike the seven tubs which is a nice hike that isn't terribly tough but still gives you a good workout and a relief from the world. Only problem is, people ruin it's beauty by leaving their trash and graffiting the place. It's a gorgeous natural area but unfortunately people can't take care of nice things.

There is plenty of parking at the beginning of the trail . Is great for a family adventure the water falls are picturesque &we followed the blue trail... it was very pretty and tranquil hike we got some really great pictures and saw lots of different birds . We were there for 3hours.... we even saw a fairy door built into a tree. A must see and a nice hike!

Went there the first time yesterday and it was absolutely amazing. Me and my family had a blast sliding down the falls and swimming. Such I nice retreat from the normal life. As for everyone posting about trash and bad things happening I feel as if that can happen anywhere so suck it up and just go for the experience! As for the trash it looked very well maintained and we hiked a good portion of the park.

I've hiked Seven Tubs a few times. It's fairly easy, mostly unkept (i.e. much more "wild" than Hickory Run), and fun.
If you go right from the bottom parking lot you can walk miles of an old road and then biking/ATV trails. If you go straight across out of the parking lot (across the bridge) you can find the actual seven tubs and the main hiking loop. If you go left directly before the bridge and keep going you find train tracks and on the other side another trail that keeps going till you hit no-trespassing signs in the middle of the woods.
The only negatives? People leaving trash everywhere and ATV riders in the woods making the rather peaceful scene not so peaceful.

I was so excited to find this gem! Even my teenagers loved it here. What a wonderful and magic place!

Beautiful, clean popular area. It's a must see. Wear sneakers or hiking shoes. Bug spray would be helpful too. But if you are in the area and unprepared, stop anyway for a short stay

This was a great hike for us and our dog. The woods, the water, the swimming, it was all a great day out in the park for a hike.

High traffic along the creek. Quite a bit of broken glass. The Orange trail is probably about 2 miles and very rocky. If you live very close, it's a nice place to walk. I can think of several places in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area that are better.

This is a very nice place to go for a walk through some beautiful trails, a hike up the mountains, or even a swim in one of its many waterfalls/waterholes. Very beautiful and worth the trip!

Nice trail, pretty area, but apparently the community elders have nothing in place for its care. Would not take children here due to trash.

The tubs are very unique and very pretty. Be prepared to see all 7 is a very steep rocky climb. No rails and slick in areas. So you are right beside the edge of the rock cliff. All the way at the top you have to climb straight down a long ladder to cross to the other side. The other side is also steep and slick. Be very cautious and watch your children closely. There's no fee to see this.

A hidden gem. Easily accessible from Wilkes-Barre, easy to navigate, and yet deliciously wild. Trails are well maintained and provide a range of difficulties for hikers of various abilities.

We visited here and found the best place for little ones is just below the bridge. We walked up the lower stream and found lots of little pools for adults to enjoy. The trails are kinda all over the place. If you are feeling adventurous go just above the bridge and slide down the water chutes. We look forward to returning to explore more. Bring mosquito repellant. The heavy duty stuff.

This natural area is a wonderful place to check out! Beautiful and interesting! One day I want to go back when I have time to make my way down the trails to the actual tub areas.

We came here on a Saturday around 11am and there was a few parking spaces left in the main lot. There's a second lot and it was empty. When we got on the trail we realized that we were glad that we wore sneakers. Hiking boots would be better but at the very least you need some shoes with good soles. The rocks are slippery and there's a lot of going up and down on a dirt/rocky path. So make sure you are well prepared for this hike. Toddlers are ok, but you need to keep an eye on them because there are no safety netting or fence so one can easily go over an edge.
Otherwise, the view is lovely! Saw a couple of people enjoying themselves in the pools at the bottom of some of these falls. Had we known, we would have brought our swim gear (next time). Saw a couple of teenage girls sliding down the fall. Spoke to them and they said that it didn't hurt because the rocks were smooth. It looked like a lot of fun.
My wife also lost her backpack in the water. Like I said above, be prepared! Go, and enjoy it, but be safe.

Hiked the river and falls on a recent rip. Beautiful scenery with the only downside being trash - it was empty when I was there, but clearly had been popular earlier in the day. Not exactly what you want to see on a nature hike.

I had always heard of the Tubs, but had never been or even knew where it was. My husband took me to see this wonder of nature and I was very impressed. My sister, who is 12 years older than I holds the Tubs very dearly in her memories of her youth. Many changes have been made to the old route to this area. My sister and her friends would plan an all day adventure and walk the long way armed with their lunches. I am certain that the parents of the youths had no idea of the long distance and danger involved. I took her there last summer and she was beside herself with joy and amazement. It is now and easy drive to the Tubs with a parking lot and lots of signs. It is well maintained with an easy walk to a bridge overlook. It is still a wonder of nature with water falls and rocks to climb. Stop by and experience it for yourself.

Beautiful place to spend a summer or spring afternoon. Water and falls are awesome. Be sure to wear proper shoes.

this walk follows a stream/river when its high. with lots of spots to stop and play in th water if thats what your into. great walk for my dog finally made it to the end where the damn is. i bet it looks beautiful when its full. still a nice place to splash your feet and have a day with the family and cousins. one of the few nice walks in wilkes barre area where you can swim with out be hassled by police, fined or swim in dirty water if your bored and wanna go on a walk this place is for you.

My boyfriend and I came to Seven Tubs this past weekend and it is so beautiful! We did not get to see the entire area as there was still a good amount of snow and ice which made it hard to get traction to hike. Bring good hiking shoes!!! We plan to come back in the summer and spend an entire day here!!!!

I have lived in Luzerne County over 20 years and had no idea this place was here. A Friend suggested we go here to hike the trails. Since I'd never heard of it I came here for reviews. All the good reviews convinced me to see for myself. They were all right. This place is amazing I immediately felt like If cheated myself all these years not experiencing this place. You gotta see it for yourself. Its well worth it.

If you can stand the cold water, you will enjoy the natural slides into tubs. Saw kids doing this but too cold for us Floridians. The hike is generally easy but there are lots of roots and rocks so need to pay attention to maintain balance. We are relating it retirees snd we did the trail with no problems. Wild blueberries!

Lots of trails around the waterfalls and “tubs.” Fall leaves were great. Only detractors were that the trails were not marked and often unclear, as well as the sign where you turn off the main road was too small and misplaced, so we missed it twice.

There is no obvious map posted for the trail, but just follow the sound of rushing water upstream. Takes about 1 or 1.5 hours to make the circuit. Lots of kids around swimming and wading in the pools.

My mom and I were visiting the area and decided to stop here and walk some trails. When we pulled in, the first thing we noticed was 6 or 7 different cars parked along the edge of the park road, each occupied by a single male. We parked in the 2nd parking lot on the left. As we were sitting there, we observed some of those males, one by one, walking down the road and getting into each others cars. Not tough to figure out what's going on there. Use your imagination.
I pulled up Tripadvisor reviews to see if anyone noticed the same and they did. Additionally, a few reviews said they returned from their walk to smashed out car windows in the very parking lot I was sitting in!
We didn’t get a good vibe here. No families. No couples. Hookup spot. Car break-ins. Trash and graffiti. We went with our gut and left. Police patrols needed.

Needed a nice trail to get out of the car for a bit. Crowded on a Sunday afternoon but so much area to explore we were able to get away from the all the people. Our toddler loved the fairy doors! Fun area to get wet and and nice trails. We went under the tunnel and hiked up the water. Great spot!

Great hiking trail- Very hard to find - gps takes to north 81 but you actually need to bear creek road to get in .

While there are many other hiking areas in the area this is my fav. The waterfalls, tubs, hiking, streams. Gorgeous in fall. Love to go hiking and bring lunch and have a picnic. Another plus is that it's right there by Wilkes Barre. Easy to get to but easy to miss turnoff.

My 18 year old Son and I visited here and were amazed by how beautiful it was. We were in the area to go to Ricketts Glen State Park and this was a nice extra. It was close to our hotel so we really enjoyed the time spent.

The entrance is a bit hidden and unexpected off a main highway. Beautiful waterfalls and "tubs" or pools along a scenic trail which spans woodland and hilltop meadow. Dogs on leash allowed. A few brave people were swimming in in the cool water! It was the perfect place to hike on a hot summer day.

This place looks like it came out of a Disney movie! It is so beautiful! Who knew nature could still look this good with all the pollution?? If you are ever around in this area, please come check it out! You will not regret it!!!

WE recently hiked the trail to the top of the mountain on one side and back down on the other. It's a moderately easy hike with some awesome views. Well worth the effort and since our daughter lives nearby I know will be going here again. Very pleasant and relaxing excursion.

We went there to see the seven tubs. We weren’t sure what to expect. Once we found the trail we headed toward the top to see where the falls started. We met three different large groups of teenagers along this trail. All of them were smoking pot and were acting obnoxious. Our hotel staff said that it’s a common thing for them to go there and do this. Kinda sad that we don’t want to go back there to swim in the tubs.

Really cool water falls with some steep narrow trails. A couple swimming spots at the bottom of the gourge.

I love to hike and visit beautiful waterfalls. First, there is very little parking. Most of the roadway was blocked. There were no kids or families. It was awesome. For some reason, there were many young men exchanging small paper bags. They must have a "lunch" club. It couldn't have been a very successful drug deal. In addition, there were some guys who were just hanging out, calling someone on the telephone, and suddenly a "friend" arrives and they disappear for a few minutes. Then the "friend" comes back and leaves. Another friend then arrives and the same scene happens. What a friendly forest! Sharing "lunches" and meeting friends. I felt like I was in NYC before Guiliani. In other words, scary, scary, scary, but I felt like I was at home. For me, a man who grew in NYC, I did not feel safe here.
No photos for the reasons above!

This is a moderate hike, where you have to find your footing among rocks and roots. It is very well marked and the path is large enough. If you keep to the yellow markings, once you make a left to go back to complete the loop it will get higher and a little harder. If you want, you can go back the way you came, by the stream. The waterfalls and tubs are right at the beginning of the trail. If you want to see the tubs go down to the water on the steps. All in all, a very pleasant hike. Makes for nice pictures too.

Went there with 2 infants, were not able to go down the cliff with the stroller, it was very steep and only good for walking. Therefore did not see much. Saw people swimming in a stream. Next to this area there is abandoned park area. Would be lovely if they reinstated it to the former beauty. At this moment the bridge that goes there is broken.

Why perfect for me? I love nature but am very fair skinned. I can't handle too much sun/heat. It was a pretty warm day out when my husband and I walked the trail. The beautiful and plentiful trees protected me from the hot sun. I enjoyed stoping occasionally to sit on a big rock in front of the flowing water under the shade of a tree. The only thing I didn't like was no map! I wasn't sure how long the trail was (being my first time) so eventually just stopped and turned around. Only markings were blue paint on trees.

This is a beautiful park with well marked trails. It follows the path of waterfalls and a stream. There are seven small "tubs", like pools, and we waded into two of them. Water is crystal clear! Definitely a great thing to do if you are in Wilkes Barre!

The Seven Tubs is a hidden hiking, waterfall nature area in Wilkes-Barre. Although it is a relatively short trail, the waterfalls are very nice. There are some steep areas to climb, but overall it is a great little area. Don't plan on more than a few hours.

Seven tubs Nature area is the perfect destination for a hike in the woods. A hike on large rocks, across wooden bridges overlooking waterfalls. If you walk to the left and go to the top you can meander down all the tubs. In the summer, you slide down rocky slides in a beautiful stream with natural ‘tubs’ for swimming. You can spend 10 minutes or all day checking this out. If you are not from the area, the site will blow your mind. Be careful on the rocks and be prepared for steps and climbing. With the visit! Park rangers are available for questions- port-a-potties in parking lot. Enjoy nature!

Great area for hiking...too bad the chiefs at the courthouse cant figure out how to open the gate on a holiday

Beautiful wonder of nature ..Great for hiking and cooling off..I little crowned when we went but there are plenty of places to relax and enjoy the area. Easy access.

This is a great place to hike and a little swimming. It is free and beautiful natural hiking area. Just wear correct shoes and maybe pack a picnic lunch.

First the good news is that this is a really nice spot to visit. The problem is there's no maps and no guidance so you're on your own. Here's what we discovered. You cross the wooden bridge and see a blue trail and a yellow trail. Pick yellow and in 5 minutes you're at the tubs and you can be done. No need to do any real hiking. Pick blue and you have a really nice hike along the stream and it loops back to yellow and gets you to the pools after a 2 mile hike. Your choice what you prefer ut if you go blue have good shoes - lots of slippery spots.

This is a nice outdoor area. It has beautiful waterfalls and associated rock formations. There is some limited access for wheelchairs. A lot of the terrain is steep and rocky and can be slippery in areas. There are 2 marked trails. The trail that stays along the main stream is very easy to follow. There is a second trail (i think blue blazes) is longer and departs from the water area for some distance. This trail can get a little thin on trail markings. There are also several unofficial unmarked trails. When the weather is very warm there can be a lot of visitors. During the week and when the weather is cooler it is often lest crowded. Some of the areas can have poor cell hone reception.

To all you dog lovers, stop leaving bags of dog poop on the trail, either take it with you or just push the poop off the trail and let nature take care of it, I don't appreciate seeing the trail littered with plastic dog poop bags!

The 7 tubs trail is moderate to easy and is incredibly beautiful. It is so cool to see the rock formations and it does look like tubs. I bet that it would be a great place to take a dip in the summer, but it is a bit cool this time of year. The tree color changes were still beautiful this time of year.

This has beautiful scenery, but it is rocky and steep. I would highly recommend you visit when it’s not been raining or wet and you wear hiking boots.

Once you know where it is, you'll go there every time you visit the area! It is so beautiful and peaceful!

Seven tubs is a really nice part of the area. We struggled to find it at first, as it isn't well signposted.
The wild swimming and waterfalls was really fun. I would recommend some wet-suit boots, which we didn't have, but still managed. Was something a bit different to do rather than just walk.
As we were not local to the area, there was no map we could see, which was a shame as we just had to follow random trails in the area.
Great for kids.

I saw this on trip advisor and had to stop. I'm so glad we did. This place was beautiful! We hiked in March after some snow. I;m glad we brought our hiking sticks. We will have to go in the spring. This place was beautiful for a winter hike. Don't miss this!

We stopped by Seven Tubs while staying the night in Wilkes-Barre. It was easy to find, free, and the scenery was beautiful. I didn't know what to expect from the 'tubs', but they are basically a series of natural pools and riffles that cascade down the hilly terrain. It was quite busy and hot while we were there and several people were swimming and wading in the water. My only complaint about this attraction is the amount of litter that scattered the entire area. Perhaps it had to do with the timing of our visit (a few days after the 4th of July) but the place was trashed with everything from McDonald's bags and liquor bottles to socks and cigarette butts. Such a shame as it was a huge detraction from the natural beauty of the area.

its a beautiful area all ages will enjoy the beauty and the running water its under shade and has a few trails you can easily walk great place to just relax and enjoy nature

This is a great place to hike but the trails are very rocky and slanted so you really have to be careful. It's a great place for people with dogs to go to the small ponds for them to swim in. I liked the area I was able to walk in.

Such a pretty location. Took my daughter’s senior pictures there. Rocks can be really slippery. Watch out on the higher tubs for drug paraphernalia.

Did the 1.8 mile loop and used my All Trails App to explore some of the side trails. The smell of fall and the babbeling brook made for a perfect day. Does have slight climb so I would not recommend to anyone that has difficulty walking.

We stopped here and were just amazed at the rock formations! It is definitely a place to see if you are into waterfalls. We recently stopped back here on a warm day and there were people sliding down through the tubs. I don't know if I would be doing it, but I know my adventurous boyfriend wants to come back and give it a try!

Great trails to walk. Better bring a good pair of slip resistant tennis shoes because parts of the trail will be slippery. Also bring water, stay hydrated! You'll have gorgeous scenery to feast your eyes upon!

As a moderately experienced hiker, I can say that this area is one of my absolute favorites. It's a very easy walk, with beautiful waterways & rock formations. The creek is surrounded by well-blazed trails, with many partially-blazed areas to go explore. There are numerous private nooks & perches in which to enjoy some peaceful solitude. Be aware: It could be quite treacherous for small children, if you go off the main walkways. For safety, I would also avoid entering the water anywhere near the falls/tubs.
At the far end of the waterway/trails the creek goes through a tunnel, beneath train tracks. On the other side of the tracks is private property. There's not much to see anyway, so not worth crossing the track.
Get here if you can. The hike isn't strenuous & the views are fantastic.
Note: Trailhead is the paved walkway, opposite the parking lot.

Wow,such an amazing hidden gem that ive never been aware of. There is ample parking,an accessible path to the wooden bridge overlooking the beautiful mini waterfalls and basins"tubs",and portapotties. I throughly enjoyed the wonderful nature sounds and sites, birds, moving water, etc. For those more adventerous, there are very cool rock paths surrounding the tubs that encourage awesome photo snaps. Bring a packed lunch,a book, bug spray, sunscreen and make a day of it. Also, super clean ☆☆☆☆

the seven tubs nature area on beer creek blvd off of beer creek blvd ( note the redundancy) is basically 3 falls, 2 of which you can wade in the water or sit and get your feet wet. I didn't go in, but the water is not deep. there is a treacherous hiking area through woods which doesn't go anywhere. It' on a sleep slope with tree roots, wet slippery rocks and mud creating an obstacle course like experience. It's not a pleasant walk through the woods and there really is no trail. You make your way. I do not rexommend this area if you are looking for an open park-like recreational area or picnic(lots of flies by entrance which has one picnic table) or for hiking. The walk down to the watering areas is also a steep descent but not too bad. There was another entrance on the gps, but this other area was closed to even foot traffic on Tuesday, so we went here. It may be better over there.Call ahead if you are gping to make sure it's open. This review is strictly about the falls area off beer creek rd off of beer creek rd (115).

So, to begin - it appears the place has two parking lots, one on top, closer to SR115, and the other one just a bit more downhill. The top parking lot...well, it appears to be a meeting place for, how should I say it....gentlemen who prefer company of other fellows - several cars backed into spots with single guys just appear to be relaxing, pretending like they are not paying attention - yeah, right. We started off the parking lot on foot, not knowing which way was the the river, when one of the fellows pointed us down towards the other parking lot. Thanks, gentle citizen! I mean I'm open minded and all, but it's not what I'm here for ;)
So, as we got to the other parking lot - BEWARE, someone else had mentioned it too, but I observed broken car window class on the ground - leave nothing apparently valuable visible inside your vehicle. There is moderate amount of graffiti on the sign for the park, which did not look good, but the place itself is just a short walk from the other parking lot.
Now, the small stream going through the rock is an interesting and pretty sight to see - be aware that the rocks are slippery though if you get down to the water level, but the area is pleasant, with some rock climbing and splashing in the water to be done if you wish to do so. Did not see many other visitors. What bothered me immensely though is the amount of TRASH left behind by some of the idiotic visitors - diapers, beer cans, soda bottles, clothes, cigarette butts. I understand it's a county park, with maybe not great amount of funds available, but can the county send people sentenced to do community service to do clean up? Transfer the park to the state to maybe get more funding? It's a very fascinating place, and it needs better care than it's getting. Overall though - would certainly go back again if I happen in the area again.

My husband and I were staying in Wilkes-barre and decided to visit Seven Tubs Natural Area as it is listed as number 1 attraction for Wilkes-barre.
We were initially a bit worried about getting lost but the trails are very well marked. We enjoyed it a lot and would do it again if in the area.

Really tranquil and pretty. Had a quick bite to eat at the picnic tables in the entrance took some really cool pics. Enjoyed the trails.

Was staying in Wilkes Barre with my family and decided to go check this out. It was very pretty and we enjoyed walking through the woods. There were not many signs around though, explaining where the different "tubs" and/or "waterfalls" were. We had to ask other people that were also at the park. All in all, it was well worth the trip though. Will definitely be going back!

I really want to come back again in better weather and not with an elderly person so I could explore more. I was really hoping for a good workout based on the wonderful photos posted on here.

The trail was about 2.5 miles. There were lots of waterfalls. We followed the blue trail all the way until we were almost to the end then we ended up taking a yellow trail for like the last 5 minutes. We ended up doing the loop which if I ever go back again we won’t be doing. There wasn’t much to see and you are away from the water. It was also very rocky in some areas. Road signs ain’t good at telling you where to turn, but we were able to find the place and we parked in the second parking lot which was pretty much directly across the paved sidewalk you take to start the trail. Once you cross the bridge, go to the right as that will put you on the blue trail by the water vs taking you around the loop to start. If you want to take the loop, still go to the right first otherwise you will have to hike uphill instead of downhill.

Great place to hike Trails of all kinds of skill level Awesome views of the natural waterfalls that exist in the park

Awesome place to hike. Unfortunate for people to throw trash. Would be a nice place for a group to clean up .Signs were defaced,Beautiful and peacefull trails though.

Honestly, there is really nothing much here of my interest, and I love hiking and nature walks. When you first get to the bridge over the falls, you can of course see the falls. If you're a little daring like myself, you can walk up the hilly mountain to see the tubs. I highly recommend wearing hiking boots, because when I visited my first time, I slid into the waters and had to swim upstream. Was not a fun experience.

We spent about an hour hiking the trail loop and enjoyed lunch on a nearby picnic table at the entrance.

This is a gentle walk right off the main highway. The trails are well maintained, and it always cool under the shade of the many trees that line the paths. The stream and the "tubs" are delightfully relaxing. The water is so clear, you can see through to the interesting rock formations below. You can make the walk as long or short as you'd like since you can circle back or take a trail on the opposite side. This is a really nice place to just get out for a bit and enjoy being in the woods and looking/listening to the water. It's hard to believe that you are actually so close to a major highway.

Beautiful waterfalls and well marked trails highlight this county park. Formed by Glacial Streams through thousands of years, the park features the rolling streams that have swirled through the sandstone, creating crevices and "tubs" or pools. Though signage states swimming is verboten, that doesn't stop the locals from splashing around in these crystal clear pools and using the moss covered rocks as slides. Plenty of places away from the main entrance to sit streamside and enjoy the sound of only chirping birds and babbling stream. Already in our notes to come back to this little bit of Shangri-la hidden in Luzerne County.

Kind of hard to find because of the little sign by the highway. Small park with few parking spaces and only a few marked trails. Bring clothes to get wet in, A beautiful place to hike. Young children could probably make it to the first pool with help from a parent. That part is relatively steep.

We did about a 45 minute hike around the loop. Easy with stairs and bridges where you need them. Easy parking. Right off of I 81

Nice scenery when you're walking along the stream. Not very challenging - easy trail. Well marked as well. Access is very easy.

When I was a kid, we spent a lot of time swimming up at 'the tubs' as we called it. Years later, it was taken over by drunken litter bugs who'd leave their trash all over the place after the bonfire went out. Nevertheless, this place holds a lot of find memories for sure.
In more recent years, the property was thankfully taken over by the County or State, and really spruced up with wooden bridges, signs, parking lots, and various walking paths. If you're planning to come for the afternoon, and you've still got an adventurous streak, then you need to don your oldest, worn bathing suit or shorts, some water friendly shoes, and hop into that cool, refreshing water! I'm telling you, you've got to experience the thrill of doing the tubs! Best bet is to head to the very top of pathway, then slide your way down to the last big watering hole at the bottom. It's fantastic fun!

we take the mut there early on days we can its close to wilks barre from rt 115 if you walk into the path area and down into the bottom its a real nice place to visit I can get there and back and still get something else done in the morning if needed

This place is quite nice, can be a worth to make a stop there. Take comfy shoes cause you will need to climb up to see some hidden tubes.

We stopped at 7 tubs after a long car ride to stretch our legs - the yellow loop is about 3 miles along the river and through the woods. Beautiful scenery, path is worn, rocky and tree rooted in some spots. There is not much elevation making this an easy family friendly hike. One very easy stream crossing. Nice area. I gave it a 4 as you can hear the highway from some areas.

This is an interesting gorge. The hike up the sides of the gorge to see the tubs are steep but can be accessible with good shoes and maybe a hiking stick. When you arrive the bridge go up the right side of the gorge if you want an easier climb. The day we went was a little cooler but groups were sliding down the rocks in to the tubs. It was a nice climb to the top where there is a tunnel. You can climb up the top and will find a railroad bed. Be careful it is in use and the train comes thru quickly. It surprised us. we at our lunch along the creek. There is a woodland hike which we did not take. Worth the trip.

Awesome trails with great (close) views of the water. Hiked with preschoolers and they held up just fine. Definitely more advanced trails available for adults to explore.

Excellent place for a cool, shady walk-about ... or a dip in the tubs if you're brave enough. The seven tubs are fed by a stream, connected by short, narrow falls which really can be played as natural water slides / flumes. Views from trails above the tubs are outstanding - well worth the walk. Other trails follow on downstream to quiet pools and unusually huge rocks.

This is a beautiful natural area to visit and take a hike. Awesome scenery! Great waterfalls to enjoy and take some pictures to cherish.

First thing is they do not have good signs to show you where to turn off the main road . when you turn right into this place go to the second parking lot then walk back the paved walkway once you reach the walking bridge you can go left before the bridge or go right after the bridge We enjoyed the trails . very clean . We went in December and the waterfalls were great ! water has left its mark in the stone making beautiful ravines . pretty place for pictures . Your dogs would love it here . No bathrooms , and not handicap accessible . would not recommend strollers either.

The loop trail is scenic and has varying landscapes. Not far from the city, it is a quick escape. The natural tubs are a cool feature.

It's close to home and so beautiful to hike, fish or have a picnic with your family or just your significant other.

Beautiful and well maintained. Plenty of natural waterfalls and trails for hiking. This is a great way to spend a family afternoon or a serene walk with your partner.

Ok, so I was originally planned to visit this place but I looked at the weather forecast before I left for my mini vaca & it said rain. So I didn't bring sneakers. While in Wilkes Barre I again looked at the weather forecast it now said sunny all weekend. So my husband and I went there with our sandals. We walked around a little bit and it was beautiful. Without proper Footwear we did not walk too much. We saw people having a great time in the tubs and swimming. I would definitely recommend this place but I would also recommend bringing sneakers or hiking boots.

good in all seasons!! Interesting terrain, peaceful!! Close to Wilkes-Barre. Safe surroundings. Water features for viewing.

The water is very cold, so be aware. There are very nice walks you can take to see the running water and hear the lovely sounds. I caught the rumbling water on my phone- Neat.

Was looking for an outdoor activity after a storm passed. Trip Advisor led me here. There was plenty of parking and it was fairly easy to find.
I short little hike with small powerful falls. It was a great sound to accompany a hike.
If you want a 1.5 mile hike that is close to town this is for you.

My kids (9 & 12) enjoyed this walk with me.
Took about two hours, due to many stops to explore.
Stream and waterfalls have carved an interesting gorge and 'tubs'
Not many other trails in this immediate area.

I have been going to 7 Tubs almost daily for years, and it is a great (free) place to hike, walk the dog, and swim. It was a hidden and unknown gem a few years back, but in the last year or two, it is getting more and more crowded. Lately, the visitors have been getting younger and younger, and it is no longer the enjoyable place it once was. However, if you are in the area, the trails are worth a hike. The rock formations that have been cut and smoothed by the water flow are gorgeous, and the hikes are relatively short and easy. You might want to stay away during hot and sunny Summer days, as the crowds are mostly made up of white trash, rowdy, teens, who drink, litter, and swim.

Arrive early to avoid people swimming in the creek. It is definitely a local water spot!
Couldn’t believe all the trash left behind by people in the parking lot!! It was the same along the creek but not as bad the further you went along the trail. Less people too!
We walked all along the creek on & off the yellow trail. It was beautiful until you hit where some massive storm came through, or at least that’s what we think. They really didn’t clean up the trees all on the creek but cleared a new path that connected you back to the original trail.
Trail is very rocky in spots & a lot of above ground roots!! Watch where you step.

The Seven tubs area provides a beautiful nature escape with plenty of marked and unmarked trails to explore. I frequent this area for mushroom photography and a cool dip on a hot day. Please wear proper shoes for your travels, flip flops are for beaches not the 7 tubs. Please remember to take your trash home with you. I spent 3 trips with my dughter to clean up after super Sunday events. It's a gem of a hike spot with water, so lets keep it clean folks.

The "Tubs" are deep, natural, whirling cylinders carved out of rock by eons of glacial meltwater cascading one into the next. I grew up within walking distance of the Tubs and hiked or hopped trains up to the area with my boyhood companions about once each week. ("Walking distance" back in those energetic days was a lot farther than today's "walking distance.")
The Luzerne County-owned area boasted some of the best swimming holes in the state. We spent many boyhood weekends camping, fishing, hiking and skinny-dipping in the crystal-clear waters that forged the tubs. The unspoiled, pristine scenery rivaled National Park attractions.
It was a popular place before our time when the old "Bear Creek Highway" and trains provided access. The old highway fell into disrepair after being severed by I-81 and bypassed by PA Rt 115. Train passenger service was ceased and the area became less accessible. It had few visitors save for us young locals, but of course we enjoyed having "exclusive rights." The fact that it was "off limits" (albeit rarely enforced) made it all the more enticing.
Many of today's "nature trails" began as foot-wide animal paths that gave us access to endless adventures. I don't know why none of us were killed while "cliff diving" into the "tubs."
A few decades ago, the county decided that the area should become a public "nature area." They improved a rutted access road and renamed it "Whirlpool Canyon Falls." Apparently the name "The Tubs" was insufficiently elegant. A seldom open metal gate was then erected across the access road. Little else was done to the "canyon," but interlopers trickled in at an increasing pace leaving their trash behind. This was "our Tubs," after all.
The trickle of visitors became a stream when the county found enough money to make the area a proper park. They reverted back to the age-honored name of "The Tubs" or more properly "The Seven Tubs Natural Area." Parking lots were carved out of the woods, picnic areas were built, paved walkways were constructed, signs were erected, trails were "improved" and "marked," a pedestrian bridge was built, an amusement park was built... (OK, I lied about the amusement park.) Then came the dreaded ATV's fracturing the tranquility of an area where you could always hear the rush of the waterfalls, the "babbling of the brook," the birds chirping and the squirrels attending to their business. Now you're more likely to hear woodland cries like "Hey, Shirl! Where did you put the Twinkies."
We were pleased that the entrance turnoff was, and still is, obscure, and that the gate is often closed. That sounds selfish, but do you remember the commercial featuring the old Indian "Iron Eyes Cody" with the tear in his eye seeing the way his tribal lands were being despoiled with litter? I guess we felt a little like that. We didn't begrudge responsible visitors who respected the land, but the trashers were unwelcome. The Tubs is awash in garbage. It's still breathtaking, but careless people have significantly degraded it's beauty.
...and for those locals who are still unsure about how to find it, it's right around "The Hairpin Curve."

Wonderful Views of the "Tubs" with a Little bending and Climbing. The Water is Crystal Clear, The area is well Shaded and Great for Picnics. Biggest Concern is the Carry in Carry out -- Some people Seem to Ignore this and pile Trash by the Port-a-Potty which is Almost the First Thing you see Pulling into the Parking Lot. Its Shameful..

Husband and I spent the morning here. From the lot very short walk to see the runs. Really neat. Did the 1.8 mile hike. Gradual climb not too strenuous. Worth the drive.

The Seven Tubs Natural Area was one of our stops on the recent New England road trip I took with my wife and 1-year old son.
When we got to the parking lot, one direction was blocked off and we could go only the other way. Fortunately, that direction was the cool looking bridge over the gorge that I had seen online. Unfortunately, that bridge was like less than 100 yards into the hike.
Being that we had a stroller, we couldn’t really go any further than there. In fact, it was blocked off (probably for safety as the trails were not exactly kid or stroller friendly). No big deal, we just took him out of the stroller and hiked down to the creek.
It would have been cool to hike further down the trail but it just wasn’t possible with him. I’m sure there’s much more to see for someone without a young child. Overall, a good little stop after a long day of driving.

We have been wanting to hike here for many years and finally got the chance this past weekend. The weather was perfect and we got to Seven Tubs in the mid morning. Parking lot was well marked and the port a potties were big and surprisingly clean! We started off not quite knowing what to expect. Started following the path and came upon a great wooden bridge that overlooked a nice rock chasm with a beautiful waterfall ending in a nice size Tubb or pool below. We continued walkng, following the clearly marked yellow trail blazes. The paths were very nicely marked and easy to follow. The only confusion we had was at the top of the mountain/ hill there is some construction near the power lines and no directional signage as to where the trail goes. We took a chance and climbed over the rocky embankment to where the construction was taking place and easily found the marked trail on the other side. This hike is about 2 to 3 miles and length and does require that you keep and eye on where you are stepping as it is a bit rocky and root bound. Beautiful walk along the stream with lots of waterfalls and cascades. A definite must do for a great day hike.

Beautiful little hike - brought our 4 kids and our dog....we did not hike it all but spent an hour and a half or so here enjoying the scenery - great place to visit for an afternoon or to go spend a few hours killing some time - easy to find - easy to get in and out - easy to find the trails - good time
Be careful rocks can be slippery and cliffs can have steep drop offs - nothing horrible - just an FYI

Gorgeous, Incredible, Amazing! I would go back in a heartbeat. It was super cold and windy, and we had to park near the road because the access road is closed in winter. Its about a 1/2 mile to the main trailhead, although the trail on the way in leads you to waterfalls. Super beautiful place I hope to return one day.

I had high expectations for this place and I am not disappointed at all. I am a nature love person and this is the one of the best. However you need good hiking shoes to be safe. Path is stiff and very slippery.

It took us a bit to find the entrance, but once you are inside it's great and actually pretty easy to walk around and do the trail. There is no fee, a good parking area and a porta potty in the entrance. The trail its pretty well maintained and easy. Took us around 2 hours to do it all ( but we stop many many times to take pictures and enjoy the grounds). A small river/waterfall followed all the initial part of the trail. Great view and good exercise!

A beautiful stream with cascading falling water. The area was clean. The hike was medium difficulty with uneven terrain. Definitely worth a visit when in Wilkes Barre, picnic tables and benches included.

it,s a beautiful area to see.nice area to get back to nature.not an easy, but worth the effort.close to town.

The 7 tubs/falls are beautiful. The trails are well marked. I'd say they'd be considered moderate difficulty. It's a great place to take the kids/pets/ friends and spend a few hours exploring.

Exceptionally beautiful nature area just a short walk offf Bear Creek Blvd. The waterfalls are gorgeous. There are more hiking trails aterward but no more waterfalls. Basically flat walk.

We really enjoyed our hike at Seven Tubs. We went on a cold, rainy day and it was still a great hike. Lots of different terrain - rocks, paths, bridges, etc. Definitely wear good shoes. It is a very peaceful location with lots of water and waterfalls. Although it was a rainy day when we went, the trees would definitely provide lots of cooling shade on a hot, sunny day. Even with knee problems, I would say this was a fairly easy hike. It took us two hours to do the entire hike. We will definitely be returning to hike here!

This was REALLY hard to find and the only sign we saw was parallel w/ the road. GPS couldn't find it at all and it was not well marked on either side.
Once we pulled in, however, we were glad we did. It was a lovely escape from the hubbub of daily stress w/ some pretty areas and relatively easy trails through the woods, highlighting especially the water sloshing or sliding through interesting rock formations. There was a little nice color happening in the leaves, even though it was only late Sept.
The trail could've been a bit better marked, as it was a bit confusing in places whether you were heading to or further away from the parking area.
It's a good place to go with kids and yet it wouldn't be too hard for some spry older adults as well. There's not a lot of rapid change in elevation, so it's mostly gentle up- or downhills. There weren't too many bugs, either, which was a nice plus.
We found it worth an hour and a half, maybe two hours if you sat and enjoyed the water features a bit more.

DON'T hang out around the bridge but say a prayer and you might be able to see this place for what it is; amazing.
If your from NEPA its the small road to the right off the HWY. Park and you can see the waterfall

We found the entrance to the park very hard to find using GPS, garmins and google. Once at the park the signage for the trails is missing. We had to guess where to hike. The park has several locations that are under construction. We wanted to see the water falls but never found them. We did climb down to the Tubs / creek...not sure if that was OK .

Very small parking lots and only a few picnic tables is why I gave it only a four. The trails were very easy for a beginner hiker and the waterfalls very pretty. Close to town and free!

This is an outstanding park...although in March there is still some ice on the trails...if you have cleats for your shoes you will be much more comfortable on the trails as they do run near some long drops over the side of the rocks. The tubs themselves are wonderful...with the ice hanging and the water running it is a very relaxing place to go. It would be difficult for those that are not in relative shape to go on the trail as it is up and down rocky faces and steeper inclines...Well worth the trip to see!!

What a beautiful set of trails! My boyfriend and I had a great time walking along the creek and exploring the woods! The trails we walked were not difficult but if people wanted more challenge they could find it! Great place for a picnic :)

Great short hike if you’re in the area. Very cool old tunnel and lots of small falls and water pools. Not vigorous at all and if you are in any kind of shape this trail is very easy to do!

I happened upon this park on a quick trip to Wilkes-Barre and enjoyed the waterfall and river. There are a few trails. The one I chose was a bit rocky or had tree roots so not the best to run on but I still enjoyed it.

This little gem of a natural area has gotten the little bit of development it needed to be accessible yet retain it's beauty. I used to go there when it was "ahem" off limits (Is there a statute of limitations on trespassing?) to enjoy the sound of the water and marvel at the large depressions it carved out of the stream bed. It was peaceful; you seldom saw anyone else. Now you can drive down and park as well as be there legally. No swimming please. Don't get hurt and ruin it for others!

This was so pretty and so much fun to do with the family. Hiking and seeing the waterfalls was just breath taking and it is a must when visiting this small little town.

very good place to walk your pet and be with nature overall. if you just wanted to get away from the city-go there be with the trees and birds.

This is a beautiful place to visit. It gets pretty busy with people swimming on hot summer days. Definitely worth checking out of you are in the area.

We did the long hike here although we felt lost for most of the time. The trail is blazed but not kept up as well as others. The area is fairly secluded but there are a lot of travelers that go through here. The tubs are amazing and the walk, especially in autumn, is fantastic. Highly recommended.

Trails are kept nice, lots of falls to take some nice pics, be careful in the water because the rocks have algae on them which makes them slippery so if you have little ones, hand holding if your going in the water is a must. It wasn't crowded at all.

Very pretty area with hiking trails along the creek and natural swimming holes. We also found two fairy homes built in to the trees.

This site offers several really nice hiking trails, including one that passes next to the "seven tubs" which are like big swimming holes carved out of the rocks by the creek. It is very close to the city and worth a visit for sure.

taking pictures of what looked like an engagement or pre-wedding something or other. This place is gorgeous and unlike a lot of places that have waterfalls, it was much more accessible to non-hikers. You can do as much or as little walking as you would like and still be able to see some or all of the natural falls and pools. The walk down to the "tubs" is paved and relatively short.

This is such an amazing place to visit. We love to hike and bring a lunch to have a picnic. We brought our son here for the first time and he loved it!

Very nice hike, awesome views! However late afternoon crowd takes away from the experience! We arrived early and enjoy a nice lonely hike.. as the morning progressed it became very busy. Wasn’t happy to see all of the littering throughout the hike, so bring a bag to help clean up! And to those who go, please pick up after yourself! Moderate difficulty hike, wear the right shoes!

Came here expecting to see a little more and spend more time hiking, Views were ok but there was an area closed off for an unknown reason

Scenic trails...great hiking with beautiful scenery. Beware some of the trails can be a little bumpy, my five year old had to be extra cautious. Obey the 'No swimming' signs, very dangerous...staples in my head to prove it.

On a nice spring or summer day this is a very good activity weather hiking or just walking the trail.

Went with our grandson. Enjoyed our time walking the different areas as the water flowed around us. Our grandson went in the water and loved it. Beautiful place. Have fun

I visit the "Tubs" every time I go to WB to nurture my soul. This area has manicured trails, some paved for handicapped and most naturalized. Hiking follows the stream with some waterfalls and pools (the tubs). The trails are slippery in places. Wear good walking shoes.

Caught nice brook trout. Has a parking lot and trails. Just be sure to check for ticks when you leave.

I searched for a good local place to bring my dog since we were staying nearby. This park was gorgeous. There was snow on the ground and the rushing water was beautiful. Stay on the yellow trail to bring you for a nice scenic loop back to the parking lot. At a leisurely pace, it took us a little over an hour. Bring good boots and a camera!

This location was just 10 minutes from Wilkes Barre, PA. There are some beautiful water basins that spill into each other on the main wooded trails, but if the weather is nice those areas are usually packed with people. You don't have to work very hard to get to them. Instead of making these basins your end point, keep walking down the hill past the parking lane and you will find adventure. We found ourselves on an abandoned highway and a crumbling bridge or two. Be aware of 4-wheelers. Don't blast your headphones if you're going for a run. Stay alert and be able to hear what is coming your way.

The area is known for its scenic beauty, with lush forests, cascading waterfalls, and tranquil streams. It's a popular spot for hiking, picnicking, photography, and enjoying the outdoors

The hike was ok, but they broke my window, into my car and stole my wallet in the 1st parking lot on the left.

The path to park the car is a bit slippery; and the hiking route signs are a bit confusing! But location was beautiful, i would def go back.

When I pulled into the parking lot there was trash everywhere with vandalized park signs but don't let that stop you from exploring the trails and falls. Just be careful a lot of step banks that are slippery and a fall could easily take you over the edge and into the stream. With that said the natural beauty of the park is very nice and a great place to take some nature pictures. I took a a bunch of nice pictures the day I was there and will definitely go back again for some more hiking.

if you like hiking, moutain biking or just being out in the great outdoors this is a really nice place. you can also swim here but be careful around the ledges whether hiking or swimming. bring bug spray.

This park is amazing. It was just what I needed and not too much. It was great for a quick hike that was not too steep. I was able to see some great waterfalls. The view was amazing. There were ample parking and I also liked that they had a port a john to use the bathroom fully stocked with toilet paper. There were older kids there playing with their remote control cars which was nice to see. People were friendly.

Loved visiting 7 Tubs. It was a bit difficult to get to, but parking is close by the main attractions, the waterfalls and tubs. A few different trails to take you to different views of the water. Great place to explore and doesn't take all day.

On a weekend trip with my husband we decided to see this trail and water due to its reviews. It was worth the time. Beautiful waterfall (small) nice views and surroundings.

It was amazing. Didn't have to walk to far to see the seven tubs. The water was so clear and cold. Great place for pictures and hiking. The hills were a bit steep, but there was some flatter trails. Overall it was breathtaking.

Awesome place to visit for a hike and to splash in the water to cool off afterwards. We did the loop which was 3 miles for us and then went down the waterfall into one of the Tubbs. Plenty of scenic views for pics and we had lunch on a big rock overlooking the water.

We enjoy hiking the tubs with our kids & dogs. Turn left, after you crossover the bridge it is a pretty steep incline but once you get through it the rest is much easier. The trail is in the process of getting new paint markers on the trees to keep on the path. This trail does is not a flat surface. There are many roots & bumpy rocks through out the journey.

Went in flip-flops; don't recommend that, but awesome views, fantastic hiking, and beautiful visuals of the power of nature.

This is a great spot with a couple choices for hiking. There are a couple options for a hike and neither are extremely difficult though very young children or the elderly could have problems with the uneven ground and climbing.
When you first get to here, be sure to stop on the foot bridge to admire the fall and one of the tubs carved into the rock. On the other side of the bridge you have 2 choices; either go left and up or go right toward the stream. If you go left you will see couple more falls and tubs, at the top of this hike you again have 2 choices; you can go right which loops around and comes back down by the stream, or take the foot bridge across the water to the other side and hike back down along the falls. Or, you can do it the opposite way, start out walking by the stream then loop around and come back down by the falls.
Generally, my husband & I hike up one side of the falls area then down the other side. We usually just go up to the railroad bridge then turn back but you can also climb to the top of the bridge, cross over and go down the other side and continue hiking a ways along the water. Or, for those a little more daring, walk through the tunnel formed by the RR bridge. This is an active train line though so be careful if you are crossing over.
In warmer weather you'll see people wading in the water and younger children swimming in the deeper areas. We've seen some people jumping off the rocks into one of the tubs but it's not something I'd recommend.
We enjoy the view of the falls, the trees and nature. Haven't seen any bear yet but it's always smart to be prepared. The only negative I have about the place is the trash. I will never understand why it's so difficult for people to pack out their trash, or so easy to just toss it in the woods. There are no trash cans available that I've seen but what's the big deal? Take a bag with you, toss your trash in and put it in your car when you leave! Often my husband & I will carry a plastic grocery bag in with us just so we can pick up trash along the way.

Just a few steps from the parking lot takes you to a. Ridge that overlooks the beautiful pools and falls. If you hike up along the edge you get to see even more. Not the best place if you want a long hike - but unique and lovely

This is a nice easy trail with nice waterfall views. You can see a waterfall within the first 10 minutes of leaving the parking are, if waking is a factor. Hidden fairy homes are in a few trees if you need to entertain litte hikers. Walking on rocks is fun with teens. They WILL SLIP on rocks, so bring an extra pair pants, if you like to tempt fate.

This is a beautiful area, but to be honest it was kind of tough for hiking/walking. To start, only half of the loop follows the water. The rest of the loop is a little rocky trail through the woods - not much to see. If I was doing it over, I'd do an out and back hike along the water both ways, instead of looping. It's also worthwhile following the water upstream at the beginning of the trail; it's a beautiful little creek.
The water-adjacent trail (the pretty one), though, is - at many spots - a pitched slab of rock sloping down into the creek at a 30 degree angle, and the rock is wet and slippery, which made me nervous that I might slide down into rocks and rapids at any given step. There are sometimes trails higher up (though those could be muddy, or if even higher, far enough from the water that you couldn't really see the stream anymore). There were a surprising number of what seemed to be locals hanging out by the water and smoking, which made it more difficult to enjoy.
To be honest, I had higher expectations of this spot; I may have enjoyed it better if we hadn't hiked it and had instead just poked around the water near the trailhead, which is one of the prettiest spots on the whole loop.

The tubs is a nice walk in the woods along the woodland stream. Very interesting formations through the rocks. I imagine in the stream when the water is higher they would be very impressive. However, the county and the state park commissions need to get their act together. Very little signage on sr 115 alerting cars where to turn. Then, once at the parking lot no map at all of the various trails around the stream and tubs natural formation, even though there is a nice large wooden information board. Perfect to show the trails and where the "7 tubs" were located.
Nature did its work, it would be nice if the county and state did theirs!

I found this place on Tripadvisor, and we are so glad we went out of our way for a visit! It is a beautiful place. Parts of the climb can be a bit strenuous depending on which trails you take, so use caution! We walked both a very easy, long and winding trail along the creek/river and then climbed a very rocky, short trail. It is a beautiful area and so peaceful! There were quite a few people there, but it didn't feel busy. We highly recommend it.

Excellent find, not far from hotels and a great place for a dip. Bring your swim suit or something you don't mind getting wet..

Great nature, waterways/falls and tubs of natural running water. Just beautiful and so worth a visit.

The waterfalls and the tubs were so calming and beautiful. Not a hard climb at all. My husband and I are retired and did not find the walk difficult. Defiantly should take time to enjoy it.

Seven Tubs gets its name from depressions or tubs carved out of soft rock by a waterfall. Most visitors to the park explore only this feature and the surrounding area but there also trails and I highly recommend them. The trails are well marked. I take the trail up the hill alongside the waterfalls and tubs to the top of the mountain which provides a glimpse of the mountains at the top, then you travel through woodlands and back down the mountain where the trail follows a stream with many small waterfalls which takes you back to the tubs. Its a loop trail and usually takes me about an hour which includes many stops. the uphill climb and hike gives plenty of exercise the sound of the stream for the last 1/2 of the hike is very relaxing. Highly recommend this park and the trails

We love the fact that this beautiful ares is so easily accessed from the parking lot. They continue to make changes to this area with nicer walkways and steps. It can get pretty busy on a hot weekend but we prefer to go early and leave before the crowds. Unfortunately there are some selfish people who leave trash behind so we always bring a bag to bring out the litter. While on your hike, look for the tiny Fairy Door in the base of a tree.

Made a stop here with my 8 and 6 year old and my husband to explore. It was just breathtaking! The stream, to rocks, to trees...just amazing! The different colors of green all around me left me in awe! I got some wonderful family photos that I will cherish as favorites. Wish there was a larger sign to help us find it (we went past it and then had to turn around to see the tiny little sign at the entrance). Also, a bathroom area or map of the trail at the beginning would have been helpful. If I lived close by, it would be a trail I would frequent regularly!!

I have been going here for years I am in shock how many people say they have never been here. They have in the last couple years added bridges and stairs also parking down the bottom nice day for family hiking or just go sit by the water make sure you check out all seven tubs I cant look when people jump in now but did it myself as a kid

It's a bit of a hidden place there is no indication prior to the road to go to the park. I wasn't very sure how safe was the place but then we talked with few people and it seemed ok. However a group of people were rushing back up one of the trail and told us their heard a Bobcat so we didn't stay too long. We got to see the main tub however and walked on the bridge on top of the tub its a very cool place.

My wife and i went Saturday afternoon 40 minutes from house. off 115, We parked in first lot and walked down road to falls, as soon as i looked down a bottom there must have been 60 people, grilling, music, well any way we walked up to top and worked our way down the tubs, water was cold and felt so good,Very beautiful place that i did not know about,We live not far so we can go on weekdays, Some people think this is dorney park, IT,S NOT. That is why there are STATE PARKS.

Beautiful but very dirty! Trash and smashed beer bottles everywhere. I witness drug deals going down! It was a scary place! Will never go back!!

Enjoyed the hours spent here and would recommend it for anyone that loves the outdoors or just wants a place where they can walk and admire nature

Excellent views and a easy hike. Very popular spot. some people dont respect the area and throw trash

Crisp clean waterfalls with varied levels of swimming access. Super easy walk from parking lot to the falls. Pet / kid friendly. Saw many senior couples enjoying the walking paths and view from bridge overlooking the falls. Appears well maintained. Restroom on-site = outhouse / port o potty, but nice to have in case of emergencies.

We were staying in the area for Business and looking for a place for a nice walk. It was a beautiful May day and a great day for a hike. Easy to find, plenty of parking. We just wish they had a trail map or better marked trails as we were kind of winging it and had to do some backtracking to find our way back to the parking area. Beautiful scenery. Some trails are easy, some are a little more rugged. Noone was swimming when we were there, but I could see cooling off in some of the pools on a hot day.

I have been going to hike up at 7 Tubs for years. It is beautiful and different than most hiking trails. There are many different paths to take and many nooks and crannies to wonder through.

Stopped by to check this out and was amazed at the natural beauty. The pictures online really don't do this place justice. There are multiple trails of varying difficulty. There is an old road heading down from the lower parking lot to an old collapsed concrete bridge. The road continues on the other side but we turned so that we could look for the 'tubs.' Across the street from the lower parking lot is an easy trail that leads to a footbridge over one of the creeks. This is the tubs area and the view is beautiful. Hiking upstream from the bridge takes you on a fairly rugged trail that could get a bit dangerous if you are not careful. Hiking a sort way downstream takes you to a fairly easy trail along the lower creek.
The one complaint I would have has been mentioned by others, People really need to take their trash out of the park with them There was way too much laying around.

Many years ago, when I was just a kid, my older brothers took me there for the first time. My grandpa lived very close to the tubs. Not a lot of people even knew where it was. I used to ride my horse over there (or walk) from grandpa's. I loved them and spent a lot of time there. Not sure if it was illegal to be there, but I either never saw, or maybe I ignored any signs posted. I was always by myself, I never saw another person. Several years ago I heard that the area was designated a nature area. I've been back to Pa. a few times since then, but haven't gone back. In a few weeks I am taking my granddaughter on a trip to Pa. and am looking forward to showing them to her. I gave it an excellent rating, because it was completely unspoiled when I was young. I'll review again after I get back. I know it won't be the same, but I really hope it's been taken care of. So many memories there. (I put that I visited in May of 2013 because there wasn't an option for 50+ years ago!)

Great place to visit if you're in the area. Very scenic and beautiful. I wish there was a map of just the park itself so you know where to go.

My family of 4 did the Audubon loop at Seven Tubs which was a moderately easy trail (a few spots were muddy, there is some rock/stream crossing, and there is a moderate incline in spots--nothing difficult). The "tubs" are beautiful and peaceful and the trail was especially peaceful as most people seem to only go in the waterfall/tub areas. Definitely recommend doing a hike which will take you through hemlock stands, mountain laurels, rhodedendrens & blueberries, etc. & by peaceful streams. Highly recommend a visit!

Nice short walk to beautiful waterfall. We went in February and it was chilly but was worth it. Definitely walk up some of the paths.

The Seven Tubs Natural Area is a great local spot in/right near Wilkes-Barre, PA albeit somewhat limited. There are several hiking trails that start along the tubs and follow the creek through the woods. There are several nice waterfalls creating the tubs. The water is nice and refreshing in the summer. Every visit I have had at the Seven Tubs has been a great experience.
I would recommend visiting the Seven Tubs if you live in the area or are visiting the vicinity. I however would not recommend it as a destination stop if you reside over an hour away.

This is a great natural treasure. Water flowing through a seven naturally carved tubs. The hiking trails are not difficult. But, a word of caution: do not leave any valuables in car. The parking lots are isolated. Some New Yorkers, of all peope, learned what happens when you leave valuables in your car. Your windows are smashed and your wallets are stolen.

Its a very nice hiking area, lots of water around all natural. In the fall its very colorful with the water near by.

...but watch out for vagrants.
This place is of great natural beauty and is easy to get to, yet tucked away nicely off the highway (115). Waterfalls, hiking trails, streams, places to enjoy nature and to find a little bit of privacy.
Sadly, some of the people visiting this place leave much to be desired.

The best part of this hike is that it can meet most ability levels. Parking is easy and puts you right at a waterfall. If the weather is right, plan to allow for some creek stomping!

We stayed overnight nearby and looked up this place. The area is beautiful and we enjoyed our brief hike. The area had just turned fully green. Give it a look, it's not hard to get around!

I am a photographer and have used this location multiple times. The park area is well maintained. the scenery is nice.

Great, easy and beautiful hike. This hike was very easy and very beautiful. Love seeing all the "tubs"
Easy parking, well marked trail.

As teenagers we would go up here swimming in the natural pools but partiers would come up drink, litter and trash the place. I was thrilled to see the place where I did my Eagle Scout project many years ago become a protected natural park! The trails and parking areas put in make it easily accessible for many to enjoy. I am happy that the place i thought was worth protecting so many years ago is now cleaned back up for all to enjoy.

Most people forget that this is here in the area. The waterfalls are really pretty and the hike is relatively easy. However, be sure to have good tread on your hiking or walking shoes as the rain can make things a little slippery.

The water carving its way thru the rocks leading to pools of crystal clear water. Rocky and short steep hike to the top of trail, then a trail thru the woods down along the stream that's one big loop

My group and I really enjoyed this activity. We were a group of 4 adults (around age 30) of moderate fitness level (not marathon runners but enjoy active trips).
Benefits:
-~2 mile scenic walk: lots of gorgeous flowers, running water, and diverse landscapes
-Well marked and maintained trail
-Hidden treasures on the walk (look for the door on the tree trunk!)
-Cute photo opportunities
-Free parking near the trailhead
-I wish I had brought my bathing suit -- lots of people were swimming near the trailhead!
-Saw no snakes
Drawbacks:
-No scenic overlook
-A few muddy areas (to be expected on a hike!)
-Some spider webs (also to be expected)

Nature trails by brooks. Easy hiking. Very quiet and peaceful. Marked trails. Would recommend. No facilities available.

We had visited the Seven Tubs on Mother's day weekend 2016. This place is just beautiful. It makes you forget about the busy and stressful life we may experience living in the city. It's a good place to contemplate about the beauty of Nature to simply meditate and relax. However, you might find some trash that had been threw by people without morality that simply do not care about the environment and think that the garbage is someone's job. It's OUR job to at least try to keep a healthy and safe environment. If you're reading this I can strongly recommend you to stop by and see for yourself the Beaty of Seven Tubs :-)
Thanks

nice hiking trails, fresh clean air, amazing views, this is really a great thing to do on a hot day and it doesn't cost a penny

The waterfalls are great - 7 falls into 7 "tubs" (pools). We saw four teenagers actually sliding down the creek, over the various falls and into the pools below. The hike is easy and is about 2 miles long. Some of the hike is along the creek. Very beautiful with large boulders, etc. The remainder of the hike is through the woods and the loop returns you to a bridge where you started. A very nice way to spend a couple of hours.

This was one of the best hikes/nature trails I've been on. It was so peaceful, quiet, and calm. There were so many different trails I could've taken but my husband is new to hiking so we took it easy this trip. The watering holes and streams were so beautiful and calming. It was romantic as well as adventurous. We will definitely be back!

Short trail with no signs whatsoever. We ended up on private property. I was disappointed; thought there would have been more to see

This small park has a lively river flowing through it. A well established trail reveals nice waterfalls. Free!

I section hike the Appalachian Trail, and took a couple days break. Never heard of the seven tubs before, but it was recommended by the front desk at the Hampton Inn & Suites.
Well worth the couple of hours. Very scenic, not crowded and about 20 degrees cooler on the trail without a dip. Moderate
hike with plenty of beautiful rest spots for the less active hiker.

Went for a short hike which starts out beside a creek and interesting water falls into pools of water called "the tubs." People were using natural water slides - places where the water descended in narrow passages - to slide into one tub after another until the creek widened. Even in August the water felt about 55 degrees, but the brave souls in the water looked like they were enjoying it. The trail goes away from the creek for a while into a pretty wooded area, then eventually loops back so that you can walk creek side again. Trail is well marked but short (maybe about 2 miles).

Not so easy to find off of PA115, but a great free park to hike in and enjoy the creek/glen. Lots of trails that were pretty clean. Some areas around the parking lot could use work. Toddlers will do fine with assistance, but should not be allowed to wander as the area is not fenced, and there are plenty of drop offs. My 3 year old did fine and had a ball. This a great place to bring the kids on a nice day when mom is shopping at one of the nearby malls!
Very pretty area
The landscape is pretty, but the trails aren't particularly well marked. Many people let their dogs off leash, which is fine if the dog is well trained but they never are.
If you visit when there aren't other people there, it is a nice walk. It's a small enough park that it can quickly feel crowded if there's more than a couple groups there. You can climb up a cliff area if you want a more challenging hike.
