Away from the retail, albeit funky style of Santa Barbara, this park offers the ocean vista and wide white beach view with a nice open path. Very pleasant.

shoreline is one of many beautiful parks in santa barbara breath taking view of the coast and islands

Right on the ocean with a sidewalk and running/biking path. Nice restroom facilities and we walked it to the pier. A few homeless hanging out especially in the AM for the bathrooms, but who could blame them to pick such a great place.

Took a walk from our hotel to State Street and it was very pleasant. The temperature was moderate and lots of people were out walking, jogging and bike riding. Saw some homeless but they were not disturbing anyone. Several artists were setting up tents to display their goods. Great view of the ocean and many ships sailing about.

A beautiful, big park. Right on the water, and plenty of space for dogs, kids, picnicking, whatever.
If you are able, go down the stairs to the beach and check out the ocean from up close and personal.
There are a lot of things to do in Santa Barbara, and you should stop here.

Really nice park above the waves. Great opportunity to watch a few surfers, crowds of dog-walkers, and smiling children. Nice seating and tables.

This is an excellent spot for a midday picnic, with a constant breeze from the ocean, expansive views in all directions, and surprisingly few people. We were 9 people and were able to get a picnic table beside a huge tree for some added shade. There's also a playground within the park, which seemed to be a hit with the kids.

Enjoy the wonderful views and sea breezes of this delightful drive. Parking can be daunting at weekends, but isn't much of a problem on week days

Had a wander around here and fully enjoyed it. Have to keep an eye out for cyclists as there seemed to be many around but not a problem. Easy walk on a smooth path. Great views of the ocean

Shoreline Park is always a must see and stroll when we are in Santa Barbara. The tall, slender palms lend that tropical paradise feel and the mountains, moored boats and pier jutting out into the ocean make this a scenic walk. Best of all, visiting in July allowed us to escape the brutal inland summer heat wave.

We had a dog with us, so we weren't able to walk directly on the beach, but it looked beautiful, especially from above on the cliff. The marina and pier were also a fun walk with great views. I would definitely recommend this as a family friendly beach as multiple families were barbecuing by the beach.

Excellent place to be for the 4th of July. So many people and yet NO problems.View of the fireworks was great. Everyone had a good time!!

We did not spend time there as we were walking the 39 mile breast cancer walk but we were around that area many times in 4 days and surprised to see that the city of Santa Barbara doesn't take better care of their homeless, which was a lot. Laying on the grass, which we get because they had no place to go. So sad to see in America and we know there will always be this type of issue because there are so many charities we all try to assist in so many different ways.

This is great opportunity for a walk and chance to unwind. The park affords some brilliant photo ops and a chance to interact with tourists and locals alike. The paths have been set up for cyclists and pedestrians and a very good park.

We had a great barbeque with friends at the shoreline. Seems to be a popular place for locals as well.

Shoreline Park has been a favorite of ours for years. We leave our home and drive there just to get away. Take a picnic lunch and enjoy the ocean view and then take a walk on the beach below and enjoy the colored rocks. It is always enjoyable, but check the tide chart first.

Great ocean views. Wonderful place to walk the dogs and see the sunset. We took pictures and relaxed for a while.

A very pleasant and picturesque location to drive, walk or sit and gaze at the coastline and Channel Islands. Lots of space and green space. You’ll enjoy!

It is a nice easy walk with nice views. Bring a jacket and wear comfortable shoes. You can walk along the shoreline for a couple of hours!

Morning or evening, this is a great Santa Barbara treasure for a leisurely stroll, a quick picnic, or a quiet vie.

shoreline park located on shoreline drive is a beautiful scenic walking, biking. or just strolling adventure set against the pacific coastline.

Shoreline Park runs along the bottom of the Mesa for about half a mile. It ends overlooking Leadbetter Beach. There are two parking areas: one at each end of the park. There also is parking on the side streets leading down to the park. The park affords a great view of the Channel and whatever is going on there: boating, kayaking, windsurfing, not to mention occasional whales and pods of dolphins. A round trip walk is about a mile. There are two restrooms, one near a child's playground. There is also a Tori gate leading down to the beach. Dogs are permitted off leash there. In the park, dogs are permitted on leash. If you want a more vigorous walk, extend your walk outside the park along Leadbetter Beach. Follow the bike path along the beach until you reach the marina. Continue to walk the breakwater there. At the end of it, is another popular small beach. At the marina, there are three good places to eat, Brophy Bros., Sushi Gogo, and On the Alley. Enjoy Santa Barbara!

Took our two grand kids there a couple of times. Great toys for ages 1 and 3. Just the right size! They had a great time.

Good for biking, running and walking. Several car parkings available. Some construction activities now.

Very quaint and peaceful marina. We saw a seal and many birds not seen back in the UK. Lots of mosaics along the walk and public toilets. Many recast aura to, bars and hotels to choose from.

It's a very pleasant walk, whether on the sidewalk or on the sand. It's usually sunny and breezy. You can see all the people at the beach, watch the boats, and just generally enjoy the view and the fresh air. On weekends there is usually an arts/crafts sale along here. Parking can be problematic.

Every review mentions that Shoreline Park is the perfect place for a picnic or for walking along the bluff overlooking the seashore, with that invigorating salty air, that great view down the coast, over the ocean and across to the Channel Islands, the BBQ grills and picnic tables, the benches for enjoying the views, the luxuriously extensive green lawns, etc.
But wow! Where are the comments about the full moon?
A couple of nights ago we were leaning on the chain link fence at the town end of Shoreline Park, watching the full moon rising, the surfers below us at Leadbetter Beach surfing in the moonlight, and talking about the Chumash legend of the Rainbow Bridge.
The moonlight was glistening across the water and my companion said, "There's the Rainbow Bridge, right there."
If this isn't the perfect thing to do on a warm summer evening, I don't know what is. :-)

We stayed in a holiday rental a block away from Shoreline Park, and it was great to have this on our doorstep. A cooling breeze, BBQs to use, families getting together, dog walkers, joggers, kite flyers, all life was there and yet it never felt busy. A great insight into Californian lifestyles!

Any time of day or evening, this is a beautiful walk along the beach. Just be careful of roller skaters and bikes! And if you're lucky, you'll see the pod of dolphins playing off shore.

Beautiful park, where REAL PEOPLE come and picnic on weekends. You can pull into one of the many free parking lots and walk down some stairs about midway to the beach. Make sure you are there during a lower tide, and you can walk toward the pier or away for several miles on the beach. We were just there on Father's Day, and loved that there were multi-generational and multi-cultural families grilling, picnicking, walking, playing Frisbee, etc. Go on a weekday, and it is quieter and you can smell eau de ocean, my favorite perfume.

Stunning views of the marina, mountains and ocean as you enjoy a stroll, jog, skateboarding or biking along the coastline paths.
An awesome way to relax and marvel at the beauty and peace of this part of the world!

This is a delightful walk, high above the ocean and delivering panoramic views of surfers, porpoises and the grand view of the coastline. Table available to enjoy a picnic and dogs are permitted on leash

We spend our summers in Santa Barbara and bring out two dogs with us. The Shoreline Park is one of our favorite place to walk our dogs, have a picnic or just have a nice stroll. It is also a good way to meet locals walking their dogs or just spending a good time in a beautiful park.

This park runs along the top of a cliff overlooking the South exposure of the Pacific and back toward Santa Barbara`s harbour in the foreground and the mountain range in the background. Obviously, it`s a great place for fresh sea air, outstanding views, a sunset or sunrise and to just sit and relax.

Beach is clean and private with exception to some homeless people who are sharing the beauty of Gods creation with us more fortunate folks.

Absolute gorgeous views! Go to the Shoreline Beach Cafe for a meal, walk down the beach and up the path to the park. The views are stunning! After taking in some solitude at the park, youll be thirsty! Walk back to the Cafe for a beer or cocktail on the sand!

Shoreline Park is located on the cliff in Santa Barbara. It's about 1 mile all the way around and Easley parking. I live across the street and walk down most days that I'm home. There is access to the beach and a playground for children.

This was part of our walk on the path and I enjoyed getting some shots of the trees. It's not very big so you don't need to spend too much time here.

Felt like part of the neighborhood, as all the locals were jogging and dog walking. Beautiful views.

A morning jog, a dog walk, a toddler's playground or an ocean-view chat with a friend - Shoreline Park is the perfect place for all of these things. It's the real Santa Barbara experience.

Grab a blanket and some drinks, people watch and watch the waves roll in, then take a walk to State St and shop around.

The palm trees that line the Shoreline Park and the cleanliness of it along with the amazing views of the water make this very special. We stopped here on our bike ride of the area and thoroughly enjoyed the scenery!

The Shorline park is a beautiful place to spend time outdoors and along the ocean in Santa Barbara. It is well maintained grassy area lined with palm trees and is the typical expectation of what a California ocean-side park should be. Great place to spend time in the fresh air.

Excellent spot for cycling around the shore . Very calm peaceful place if you want to chill or take a job or walk in the cool breeze .There is a beach access from the shoreline park . You can get down the stairs and this is my fav spot . Not many people here and you can walk by the shoreline as the waves come sweep your feet and I recommend going there during sunset , looks beautiful .

Very clean and tidy. Public restrooms available. Ample parking. Family and dog friendly. Great place to just stroll, walk the dog, or picnic.

A recent trip to CA and old haunts was very disappointing, including Shoreline, we used to go on pleasant evening walks here in the 90's, now it is being overbuilt, construction going on everywhere, dirty beaches, fenced off areas, not exactly a vacationy place to go, and yeas, try and find parking...

Beautiful coastline access in the heart of Santa Barbara. Bathroom facilities. Pay to park but reasonable. Very long so good for walking, running or other activities. Kept clean and nice.

We walked or rode rental bikes through Shoreline park every day during our visit to Santa Barbara. It was wonderful. Cool and comfortable. We watched sailboats and sail surfers, and enjoyed music at an evening event on the west end of the park.
Well worth your time.

If you want to walk, rollerblade, or run where the tourists aren't passing you in those horrible bicycle scooter things, then this is the park to go to. Best time to go is when California actually has greenery and isn't brown.

If you are looking for a beach park close to downtown Santa Barbara to take a stroll, watch a sunset and just relax, pass on East Beach and go a couple of miles north to this park and beach. The beach is accessible down a series of stairs from the park but note that the beach is not accessible during high tide. There are tide pools at this beach which children love. Park amenities include a playground, restrooms, individual picnic tables and barbecues, a group picnic area, sidewalks, park benches, and beach access stairs. Shoreline Park provides sweeping views of the Santa Barbara coastline, the City, and Santa Ynez Mountains. Beautiful.
This park is perfect for a family picnic. Kids also love the nearby playground and a chance to watch for whales.

We visited this park yesterday.Very Good place for walking, cycling ,tracking in and around the Parkside lake or backwater, good place for picnic and while away time with family and friends.
The lone cafe overlooking the park serves good food and snacks, drinks. One can take food in a relaxing environment.

Lovely park, great views, fun to people watch. Worth just sitting and watching the world go past on a sunny day.

I loved this part it was well-used people were off to light and I enjoyed seeing all of the people walking their dogs and the views of the beach and Santa Barbara were lovely

Paved paths for walking along the bluffs - so great for folks in w/c's or with other mobility issues. Beautiful view. Well maintained.

A perfect place for us to enjoy along with our 18 month old daughter. There is a cute little park for kids. Great view of surfers in the water as well.

Beautiful walk along the beach and nice that there is a sidewalk for walkers/runners in each direction. Also loved the unique palms that go for quite a distance.

This is an area between the street and beach; somewhat of a buffer zone. It's a nice area, and we enjoyed going to an art festival there.

Santa Barbara is one of the most beautiful cities in California. It is a must see destination for anyone who visits California. I live in California and I am jaded by the beauty of California yet I never tire of Santa Barbara’s charm and beauty.

Great area to go for a walk or a run in Santa Barbara. Great views when the marine layer isn't active, and plenty of benches and scenery to enjoy.

I think we walked every park and beach in Santa Barbara during our visit Presidents' weekend. When we left eastern Washington, it was snowing, blowing, and 15 degrees F. Santa Barbara was sunny, upper 60's and sometimes 70 degrees. This park looked down on the ocean. It was north of the lighthouse, and the people watching was fun.

This is where they have an art and craft show Sunday mornings. Interesting collection of paintings at one end, and the usual and unusual assortment of jewelry and crafts at the other.

A great place to find a beach cruiser bike rental and just go up and down the path watching the people. Minimal stops along the way for refreshments on the east side so make sure you plan accordingly. Just a perfect way to spend the afternoon.

One of the best-kept secrets in Santa Barbara. It is a great place to walk, run, or have a picnic. There are steps down to the beach so you can get your feet wet. They also have bathrooms, grills and pretty good parking.

It is a great picnic spot It has big lake ,golf course ,sailing and lovely lawns. One can plan a great picnic for a day and relax.

A great park along the ocean.
Great for a walk.
Great for a run.
Great for a picnic.
Great for a walk or jog on the beach.

During the summer, they set up an art/crafts fair along her eon weekends. You can walk along and buy some incredible art work from local artists..!

Shoreline Park in Santa Barbara is simply magnificent! Along the coast you can walk or cycle wonderfully while enjoying the great views of the ocean. Everything is very well maintained, with many beautiful viewpoints and rest areas. Ideal for soaking up fresh sea air and experiencing the relaxed atmosphere of Santa Barbara. Highly recommended!

A little disappointed as the area is under construction. the ocean view is beautiful, clear, crisp ocean breeze constantly blowing and beautiful kites everywhere!!

Always something going on here. Sailboats, art fair, wine festivals, or just watching the dolphins and sea lions. We visit every year.

A good way to see areas too far to visit on foot. An informative tour. Would not use this as a hop on and hop off. Not very frequent.

Great way along the ocean, we rented bikes and cycled parts of it, made food- and swimmingstops whenever and wherever we wanted, would totally recommend that, it was a lovely and absolutely relaxing day!

Perfect view of beach and pier and a palm tree lined backdrop it doesn't get much better really ! In a warm afternoon a perfect place to sit and daydream !

Since family in LA county always finds other things for us to do when we visit from Washington state, and time at the beach often slips away, we decided to spend a day in Santa Barbara on the way down this time around. The beach and surf were great. Unfortunately, recent rough waters had left tons and tons of rotting, stinking seaweed on the otherwise beautiful beach. It didn't keep us from walking in the shallows though and enjoying a day in the sun. Nice, paved bike/walk trail stretching the length of the beach. There was plenty of curbside, free parking on Cabrillo Blvd. in October, but I'm sure that changes drastically in the warmer months.

Sat in the shade and watched the world go by, reading a book, and completely relaxed. BBQ pits were a nice touch, a group of down and outs was not, however they never approached or made themselves a nuisance.

This is a beautiful walk with amazing views high above the ocean. You can spot surfers and dolphins playing in the ocean below from here and feels safe and romantic looking out as the sun is setting

We spent two days and one night in Santa Barbara so we crammed alot into that time. I would take another day next time. We enjoyed the histiry and overall vibe of the area.

Great place for a relaxing bike ride, but the overwhelming presence of homeless people prevented us from lingering and enjoying. It didn't feel entirely clean or safe.

One of the Largest and nicest parks in Santa Barbara, it overlooks the ocean for about 1/2 a mile. Perfect for BBQing, Picnicking, or walking the dog. One of the very best spots in Santa Barbara to view a early morning sunrise (from the east end overlooking Leadbetter beach and the Santa Barbara Harbor). Features beach access, bbq and picnic areas as well as multiple restrooms.

Shoreline Park provides a beautiful view of the coast in and near Santa Barbara. There is a great path for walking near the shore. While we didn't get in the water, it's also clearly a very popular area for surfing and SUP. Note: while there is paid parking down near the restaurants and marina, just up the hill is a free lot.

It's a great place to see the ocean, run around or walk your dog. There's plenty of room, so it's usually uncrowded.

A pretty place to walk, though not as scenic as Arroyo Burro, it is more easily accessible. In a surprising bit of enterprise the homeless stretch out sheets and build coin toss amusements. Bikes that seat 4 can be rented and look like a lot of fun.

An interesting tour along shoreline drive past Sterns Wharf, the marina and then up on to the heights beyond town with excellent views

We always take our baseball gloves to play catch and our bikes for the long cemented path. Sundays we enjoy walking along the sidewalk to enjoy arts and crafts for sale.

Passed thru the park while jogging. Nice somewhat elevated views. A lots of folks taking their dogs for a walk. Long and narrow park.

It was just in front our hotel. We enjoyed lookingredients from our terrace and also to walk and drive the shore

This was one of the prettiest places we went during our weekend visit to this lovely seaside town. This is a beautifully-landscaped park located on the sea. We chanced upon it as we wandered to the ocean to see what was there.

Take the time to drive along Shoreline Park, or better yet, park the car and walk around. It's relaxing, and pretty.

Another excellent place to eat and be merry is out on the warf . Park at your motel or pay for parking as the warf fills up fast.

Shoreline Park is the best place to walk along the shore without sand in all of Santa Barbara. The views are spectacular. There are bathrooms and a playground.

We stopped and went for a walk along the path at the park. Lots of families, kids etc. You can venture down some stairs to a rocky beach. Very pretty views all around. Would be beautiful to go running on in the mornings.

Lots to see as you walk along the park. However, some of it is the homeless people asleep in the grass. The restrooms can be a little grubby as well. Watch out for bicycles and rollerbladers!

I went for a stroll in shoreline park and found my being. Beautiful and peaceful. I would walk here anytime.

Great place to walk, relax and take in the sights and sounds of the placid Pacific. Nothing to do but relax and enjoy!

Park was beautiful, so gorgeous to see the sun coming in and the clouds rolling away, fun kids playground, great walking path for dogs, people were eating lunch on the benches, beautiful views and just a great place, lots of places to run around for kids too!

Beautiful park overlooking the ocean with large grassy area. There are tables to sit and have lunch and stairs down to the beach. You can go down one set of stairs and walk on the beach for a while and then walk up another set of stairs up to the other end of the park.

Great area to exercise you and your dog. Close to the marina and the beach is awesome. It was pretty chilly when we were there so we didn't go out to the water. One of the most beautiful beaches I've seen though.

Instead of walking on a trail we rode a bicycle which was great. They also have Kayaking, Canoeing options but I couldn't try. Looked great though.
Its good Picnic spot too :)
Lot of space for parking & Cafeteria too

We visited in November. The weather was sunny and perfect. The trees overlooking the waters and view was awesome

Originally from Santa Barbara, every time I visit I walk or bike along the Shoreline Park. For me, along with State Street, Rattlesnake Canyon and other beautiful areas around Santa Barbara, it is one of the nicest views and walks. Consider renting a bike and cycling along the bike path too

Currently undergoing renovations. However, this is a great area to walk, jog, or bike along the beach.

One of my favorite places to bike when in SB. We usually hop on at the harbor and leisurely bike along the palm tree lined path, stopping at the pier and along the beach. Nice easy path. Afterwards you can grab dinner or go wine tasting in the funk zone. The long stretch of beach is nice, you can pretty much always find a quiet private spot on the beach. Sometimes we'd stop at the skate park and people watch.

After lunch we had an hour to kill before heading to an appointment. We read the reviews & decided this was a great active option to get the kiddos out of the car and moving. Easy to access. Gorgeous ocean backdrop. Picnic tables by the dozen if you're so inclined. The park is probably best for mobile children. And a big huge bench for parents to watch kids play. Perfect!!!

We all friends rented out a bike At shoreline park ! And I must say it was so much fun !
Bikes are available pretty cheap ., and you can bike the whole stretch close to the waters .... You feel in the middle of the nature . So calm , so serene !
It's a great spot for picnic :)

This park is a great place for a picnic, jogging as well as beach access stairs. It has beautiful views down the coast as well as the beach below the cliffs. It has picnic tables as well. Plenty of onsite free parking exists as well.

Don't miss Shoreline Park when in Santa Barbara! Park along the street, on the wharf, or in one of the reasonably-priced parking lots, and walk along the sidewalks. Or take your shoes off and walk through the grass or along the beach. Friendly atmosphere--there are pedestrians, cyclists, and skate-boarders of all ages. Beautiful view of the water as well as the mountains Spend an hour or half-a-day.

Definitely take a drive along here. Or grab your running shoes or a bike and go for a ride. It's so very pretty. Take a friend or two or even your family.

For a great sunny stroll along the beach this flat, long, palm tree lined beach is really beautiful. Lots of vendor displays on the weekend, and many other activities are available as well. A wharf, lots of restaurants and beautiful parks are along the way. Definitely worth taking a stroll!

Enjoy a nice walk at Shoreline Park! Great Views of the Ocean the whole walk. Great Family Pace! Dogs are allowed!

we rode bikes here ad just chilled and people watched for a bit. it is a good place to fly a kite or have a picnic lunch or just relax and read

The shoreline is absolutely beautiful and the ocean view is a delight. It is well used by locals and tourists alike and a great place to walk and relax.

This park is beautiful and very nice one to picnic and relax. Highly recommend it. It is within bike riding distance of the hotels and inns along the beach.

Pretty area to look around the area and enjoy the around Santa Barbara. Lots of people crowded area.

This is just so nice to walk.
Loved the beach view and this is a really nice marina too.
I highly recommend you do this area.
We were lucky, the restaurant we were going to was just off the marina.

The park had parking (paid) and a skateboard practice area. Bikers and joggers have a lovely place to run/walk along the beach. Its nice but nothing special if you live along the Cali coast. The trees are picturesque and there were some interesting birds along the way.

Beautiful park on the cliff overlooking the ocean. Great neighborhood with easy, and free, parking. Play areas for kids. Benches and picnic tables and areas for grilling. Can walk to Stearns Wharf and beyond. Definitely a must when in SB.

This park is beautiful with lush, green grass, a view of the ocean and the mountains and even the channel islands on a clear day. There are bathrooms, picnic benches and a playground. Highly recommended!

Marilyn @ Shore Hotel was amazing. Gracious, efficient, knowledgeable & sweet!! A definite return and highly recommend. 👍👍

My kids grew up in this park, Perfect level walk. Kids learning to ride bike, great view, good BBQ pits. Parking can be a little problem. Steps to the beach at all ends. Perfect park with a playground

The shoreline park is a great place to walk along or ride a bicycle in the afternoon, you can spend a good few hours just cruising along people watching

Such a picturesque place to visit, plenty of photo opportunities. The views are amazing. plenty of people out and about.

We visited on a sunny day in November after a long morning driving the PCH we wanted to stretch our legs for a couple of hours. This was a lovely walk offering amazing views! Very relaxing and picturesque.

Shoreline park is One in 1 million. It is a nice walk on a bike path that runs a along a cliff overlooking the Pacific ocean. Once you get to the end of shoreline park you have an overview of the Santa Barbara coastline. It is a fantastic place to walk your dog, also bring your kids for the playground. The playground is a giant sandbox with swings, slides and fun stuff to climb on. There is also tons of grass everywhere for picnics. Flying a kite? this is one of the best kite places in the city with off shore winds at higher elevations. If you're looking for a great park in Santa Barbara, this is one of them.

Walk the beach or walk the path and soak in the shoreline of Santa Barbera. What a view. Its a must do if visiting.

We parked in one of the free lots, it was mid-week so easy. On weekends I think it gets very busy. Great walking in both the park and surrounding neighborhood. Spectacular views from the park out to the ocean and around. Nice way to spend some time.

Wonderful walk on a sidewalk along the cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Public restrooms are available along with grassy fields and a playground. You can keep heading east along the sidewalk to head down to Leadbetter Beach and the harbor. A must visit!

great spot to just walk around. my wife likes a nearby bagle shop so we just grab sandwhiches then walk around and enjoy the view and dolphins. been here 10 times now and i almost always see dolphins.

Great little park with fabulous views of the water and cliffs. There are a few parking areas with picnic tables.

We picnicked on a gorgeous summer day here and loved the experience.
Recommend this place for a great place to decompress from fellow tourist hordes downtown.

Right off the tender dock, this park is a lovely park to walk along and easy access to State Street bus and the Funk Zone.

We enjoyed the LEDBETTER park portion the best of any strolls we took along the shoreline. Lots of benches and shady areas.

Since Shoreline Park is across the way from our resort, it was very convenient to do our morning walks. We brought our dog this time and he enjoyed having a different routine. Also the views are outstanding and peaceful.

Santa Barbara does it right with beaches! No hotels on this beach. Lots of open sand and water. Parking can get tricky on the street, but it was easier to use the city's pay lots in front of the beach.

Arts and crafts line the park. After visiting those, be sure to walk the pier. Consider getting cotton candy or an ice cream.

A lovely area to wonder, exercise or just be. The sound of the waves and space make this a really lovely escape. You can end up at the pier and enjoy bars restaurants and so forth.

This is a very nice well maintained park with a beautiful view of the city and ocean. The trail in the park goes along the hillside and does not allow bicycles (I found out the hard way) which is a lot better for walkers. I will visit again.

Good place to walk if you want to see views of Santa Barbara, the harbor and wharf and along the beaches to the south.

The view here is gorgeous - especially at sunset. However, if you take the steps to the beach below, be careful. Recent storms have removed the sand from the beach, so it is covered in rocks and boulders.

Great walk, usually lots of vendors that have local art and trinkets to sell. Food right across the street and it is a gateway to State Street where everyone must visit. Plenty to do from here and there is a lot opportunity to workout, makeout, hangout, or just chillout.

love how close the park is to the beach. people seemed friendly & relaxed. the more you walk around you'll find stairs or walkways to the beach!

I jogged and/or took a walk here everyday during my stay in Santa Barbara. Gorgeous views on a sunny day!

Shoreline Park has stairs with an access to a beach, and here we watched the most amazing sunset. The tide was in, so we had to wait between the waves to cross from one part to another. There were many surfers out and the view was gorgeous. The park has paved paths going all along the ocean where one can jog, walk or bike. There are public restrooms and plenty of free parking.

We dropped off my son and his wife on their Hobie racing paddle boards at UCSB campus and they took 2.5 hours to paddle past Shoreline Park where we were taking pictures. While we waited we watched bikers, families, walkers, and runners enjoy the park with the most beautiful view of the bay. As the sun was setting we finally located the two of them on the edge of the sun light hitting the water. They arrived at leadbetter beach & carried the boards back to Shoreline Park.

Best on a Sunday. An arts and crafts show is on the sidewalk each week. Fun to watch the displays. Also the volleyball games are something to observe.
Let’s not forget the best part, the ocean, boats and people. Great promenade.

I have been walking at this park for many years with family and friends. The views are incredible and I never get tired of the sights. Nicely paved walkways that make it easy to enjoy for elderly or those in wheelchairs. Views of ocean, harbor, mountains, sunrise and sunset. Barbecue grills and tables for parties. Children’s play ground. Bathrooms and free parking. Enjoy!

We cannot wait to come back and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere of Santa Barbara. My hope is to come back and travel around town. We went for a walk and shopped on the beach. I was a very nice time. I cannot wait to come back

This is a pretty little park. You will see roller skaters, hoopla hoopers, frisbee players - you name it on a nice day you will see it all!

A lovely walk along the shoreline is a popular pastime for locals and holidaymakers. If you don't want to walk bikes are available to hire.

Of course, you'd be drawn to the downtown areas, and the FunkZone. But, slow down and get up high on the mesa. Start by driving up Cabrillo Blvd, past City College, and soon enough you'll have a great view of the harbor, the islands, and eventually a great sunset. This park is wide open for any activity. Lots of people out exercising and enjoying the fresh air.

This is a beautiful little park on the Mesa in Santa Barbara. Amazing place to watch the sunset or take small children to the playground. Nice place to walk your dog too although they must be on lease.

The day was sunny, bright, just warm enough and it was a weekday, so traffic was light and we were able to drive leisurely and take in the views.

Clean and safe place for kids to play. Great place to watch beautiful Santa Barbara sunsets. Good for walking, dogs, kids, BBQs, sunsets/sunrises. Love this park.

Always a good bet is to go to the beach. This beach is a good visit. We went during high tide,,so the space was a little tight. Lots of rocky around,,,in and out of the water. Not necessarily a good place to swim,,at least at high tide. But, a good place to get-away and relax, which is what we did!!! Free parking.

Beautiful spot to walk along a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Long flight of steps leads down to the beach. There is a playground for kids and plenty of parking. Look for migrating whales and seals and dolphins. Barbeque pits and picnic benches available.

awesome walk. Palms, palms, palms! Greart architecture. services along the walk. Great views. Lovely walk at sunset.

I rented a bike at the hotel and went for a bike ride along the shoreline park, wharf and pier. the route is all flat and very beautiful.

My wife and I walked from the Shoreline Park to Stearns Wharf and back. It was a very pleasant walk with access to the beach and the Harbor. The park was clean and it was absolutely beautiful. We were surprised to see a dozen or more artist drawing and painting scenes at the park. Great place to visit.

Loved the walk in this park for a nice evening sunny stroll. The views of the water are so beautfiul!

Whether you go for sunrise, sunset, or at some point in the middle of the day, just go! Relaxing and picturesque!

Just before the sunset, this is the perfect place to be. Can take a walk and at the same time enjoy the amazing views of sand sea beach.

This is a very pleasant area for you to go for a walk. You can take the kids have a stroller or take the old age pensioner who needs a little assistance for example in a boogie as my family did.
Just be careful because there can be some joggers running very fast or some cyclist going very fast on the cycle tracks! Sometimes shared walking and cycling is not so easy watch out and get ready to dodge on those busy Saturday or Sunday afternoon.
Walking along the seafront is beautiful. However, there has been a number of homeless people struggling to find accommodation sleeping occasionally on the beach when we visited. I think this is not uncommon for many areas nowadays and on the recent trip in Honolulu on Hawaii we also saw this housing problem : it’s perhaps a current problem homelessness these days that’s global .
However, it was wonderful to see many families and children enjoying the area and I can recommend this is a good walk. I probably would suggest one or two hours walking along and enjoying the wonderful view the sea in the area.

We saw a free Blues Concert in the park and a good mix of grassland and beach throughout the park. Stearns Wharf is a short walk from the park. We ate at the Fish House next to the park and a great happy hour on Thursday with fish and shrimp tacos.

Park your car and walk along Shoreline Park for your daily exercise and enjoyment! There is lots to see along the way: the beach, the ocean, the mountains, Fess Parker's lovely resort, a peek at the giraffes at the zoo, beach volleyball players (girls in bikinis). What's not to enjoy?!

This pleasant park overlooks the ocean on a bluff, walking distance from the hotels west of State Street. It's equipped with a big playground, restroom facilities, informational signs, grills and picnic tables. There are parking lots on either side of the park but, for an uncomplicated--but rewarding--walk, start on the oceanside sidewalk at the corner of Castillo and Cabrillo, and follow it up the hill. Follow the left sidewalk and stop to watch the surfers and paddle boarders below on Leadbetter Beach.

Lovely. Go here for that great tall palm tree picture and relax by the waterfront. Lots of people out and about, bike path, etc.

It's said that the action of locals created this park and rescued it from development back when it was still possible to find any oceanfront land to save, let alone buy it for the community. The resulting neighborhood-like park is good for a short flat walk or a picnic and boasts a beautiful setting atop the cliffs west of Leadbetter Beach, where it begins. From the sidewalk that rings the perimeter, you see three of the Channel islands on a clear day, grey whales cruising by in the springtime if you're lucky, regattas, outriggers, and surfers from the east end. Stairs lead down to a somewhat secluded beach for a beautiful walk at lower tides (watch it so as not to get trapped by the highs). Summer Wednesday evenings are especially fun with scores of runner racing and marks for the local Wet Wednesday yacht races right below. Only one downer right now. "Gold is the new green" on the lawn until the drought is over. And probably avoid this Fourth of July Central unless you stake out a spot early.

Be sure to find your way to Shoreline Park along Shoreline Drive and LaMarina Drive in Santa Barbara. The views of the Pacific Ocean are especially lovely at sunset. Shoreline Park is great to walk through at any time of the day.

Yes, there are homeless people in this area. However, whether it is a walk, run or bike in the area, it is a wonderful place to visit.

The day we arrived there was an amazing art show lined along the sidewalk. Very very talented artists. The views are amazing - beach in front and mountains in back - it doesn't get any better.... Traffic was the only downside.

The park is great to walk a little, enjoy the view and take a bath if you go on summer. I was there in December and it was a little bit windy, but I like the view.

Nice beach to walk along. There is grassy areas divided by concrete pathways to walk, jog, rollerblade or bike along. Very nice beach not too far from dt Santa Barbara. Some restaurants on the pier. Great views of the ocean and really pretty sunset. About 3-4 hours north of Anaheim drive on the freeway. Drive past orange vineyards in Camarillo and see dolphins in the ocean from the freeway as you drive past Ventura to head to Santa Barbara.

A little different than getting down in the sand and water. We watched surfers and paddle boards out in the small surf and about a quarter mile or so off shore a sail boat race. Nice breeze. Probably around 12 to 15 knots. Sails full but boats not to heeled over. Shore line is a bit rough. Jagged type rocks that look like a large rake was drawn through them. A few harty souls were on those rocks. View is Mai ly from the cliffs and there is a fence along with warning signs not to venture over the fence. Small wild life hustling g about. Parking g is free but not a lot of it. Had to drive around a couple of times before a space opened. Limited on street parking. All parking here is free. Further down by the marina the parking has a cost attached. Hope you enjoy the view.

This is a public park. For the tourist, there is nothing to do but soak up some beautiful views, relax on the grass or a bench, and enjoy Santa Barbara with a ton of locals. Use it as a kickoff point for a walk to Stearns Wharf. Yes there are homeless people in the park. I find that if I mind my own business and let my fellow park revelers go about their business I don't have any issues. This is a place for everyone. There are restrooms. And benches. And I believe you can reserve spaces for events. pArking will be tough on weekends, during peak daytime usage, and during special events like the fourth of July.
Plan accordingly. Please come and enjoy Santa Barbara.

Great place to go walking, jogging, or picnic! The ocean views from this park are amazing and it is a great place for friends and families to enjoy.

Probably a nice place during the day time but during the night time, there were rats all over. Since its not easy to see anything with the limited lights available, it was scary and we left quickly.

This is a beautiful park by the beach. You can have a relaxing stroll, jog, ride a bike or just go to the beach and have a picnic.
Great place to enjoy the sunny weather and people watch.

The park is on a cliff overlooking the ocean. There are stairs to walk down to the beach. Very active park..dog walkers, runners, walkers etc. Playground.

Ride our bikes along the shoreline park. Amazing views of the sea and mountains. Stopped at the skateboard park for entertainment.

For a nice beach and a walk along the beach (or the skateboard park) it's fine. Otherwise, nothing special.

before the marina beach motel finished off my service Dog Petey we walked here every day for 9 years

Park the car and take a walk on a nice day.
Scenery is hard to beat especially on many of the great Santa Barbara days.
Great place for kids and pets.

I expected this park to be jam-packed as it's right in the main part of SB coast near the Stearns Wharf and it was Veteran's Day weekend. I was shocked to find that it wasn't crowded at all with ample parking right there (also surprisingly cheap at $2/hr). There may be nicer beaches but we weren't there for that anyway.

Gorgeous view, with a quaint park. Bike paths were easily marked which made it easy to get off of the bike for a bit to take in the views.

We had to pull over and enjoy the view for a few minutes. LOVE all the palm trees, even took a pic for our granddaughter who says palm trees are her fav.

Santa Barbara has such a variety of things to see and do, and being able to see the beach and mountains in one scene was breathtaking. There was a cool artistan market going on along the sidewalk, so we walked along the beach and then went to the market.

We visited this park on bicycles borrowed from our stay at the Hotel Milo. It was a windy evening and they were repairing something along the coastline so some of the beach was blocked off and had a sulfur smell to it. It is a great place to visit on foot, on bikes or on skateboards. Great for families.

On a week day, you can park and enjoy the wonderful ocean views. There are some picnic tables, but you should be prepared to bring your own chairs. If you do that, you can just sit wherever you like and take it all in. There are very well maintained stairs down to the ocean and beach. It is a great place to start a long walk. You can stay along the ocean for 4 miles without interruption. AND there are clean bathrooms along the way. You can stop off at the harbor for lunch.

We walked fron Bath street to the far Left hand see of the beach area. We enjoyed the cleanliness of the beach area but the volume of homeless both on the beach and in the area is not a good situation for this area. They were everywhere. On the benches, the grass, in the restrooms dotted along the path and in groups on the beach.

Sadly, the preponderance of homeless people smoking, spitting and generally making the area uncomfortable has spoiled it. Add into the mix tourists on bikes going way too fast for their skill level, or way to slow and blocking the path, and the little pedal cab things also plugging up the walkway makes the area an obstacle course. we tried it once on our visit, and afterwards, walked through the parks on the other side. much less hair raising.

A must do! So much to see and do!! They have an art show every Sunday. GREAT artists at very reasonable prices.

A wonderful park overlooking the water.
A spot to just sit and enjoy the beautiful views or to walk the length of the path from the harbor to the mesa

Nice beach and cool to just wander around - good restaurants in area as well so you can spend whole day

Glad I followed recommendation and drove along the coast and had a short scenic stop at this park. Hope to get the time to return to appreciate longer

amazing place to go for a walk or jog, alone, or with you pups
stunning views , not crowded, you can surely do lunch or picnic

Front of Sta Barbara city, the place is really nice to walk, enjoy the nature, seat closer to the sea and admire around.

Very easy walking along the shore line, also very interesting Weekend markets. Easy access to beach.

Good for a stroll along the coast. Supposedly good place for watching sea animals but we didn't spot any. Lots of dogs (on leashes) and people BBQing/picnicking.

It's always pure pleasure strolling through this park overlooking the Pacific. Look for surfers, whales and dolphin. Beach access at a few points too. PIcnic, playground, restrooms, biking, etc.

We caught a glimpse of the last rays of sun of 2016 at this park. Nice easy parking, easy to get to.

Beautiful and perfect spot for walking with your best friend (canine or human) or exercising. One of the many attractions of Santa Barbara. Just take in the beautiful views and salty air.

This is my daily walk with grandchildren and dogs. A complete circuit of the park is one mile (no need for a pedometer!). You will often see whales and dophins and meet lots of friendly folks and animals. This is my heart's home in Santa Barbara.

This is a very accessible park with gorgeous ocean views and only steps from picnic tables. Public Restrooms also available. Bring your take-out from Lazy Acres on the Mesa, or your own picnic or bbq and enjoy a sunset meal.

I studied at SBCC last year and after school I walked in the sun at Shoreline Park. It was one of the best memories for me. I highly recommend this place anyone who get some peace. :) Love Santa Barbara

The Shoreline Park is a lovely place to take a walk or jog any time of day to enjoy the beautiful Santa Barbara weather.

Each morning on holiday we set off from the harbour and set off up to, and beyond, shoreline park. The views from the top are breathtaking although somewhat spoiled when the cruise ship (aka floating monstrosity) is in town! Great at both sunrise and sunset too.

In this review, I will give you a bit of info about the park and tell you also how to get down to the beach below. The entire beach paralleling the park, from Leadbetter Point all the way west to Hendry's Beach (about 3.5 miles) is legally off-leash for dogs.
Shoreline is a multi-use park, in every sense of the word. Walkers, dogwalkers, runners, kite-flyers, group exercise classes, kids playing soccer, and so on. There is a small playground and two public restroom sites. Lots of picnic areas and benches.
Bicyclists, skateboarders, inline skaters and other such "moving vehicles" are not allowed. (With the exception of park maintenance crews.) That said, I see quite often parents at the park with their small children and bicycles. You might see also numbers of adult bicyclist and skaters who, apparently, can't read the "No bicycles" etc signs at either end of the park. (There's a bike path out on the street, but a lot of tourists and locals think it's cool to ride in the park.)
You will encounter a copious amount of happy dogs and their human companions. It's not an off-leash park, legally, but people still toss balls for their dogs and some people walk dogs off-leash. So long as the dogs are well-behaved, and you don't mind being ticketed (rare), I say "go for it." Just be aware that there's a much-used traffic road nearby. If your dog is one to dash off into traffic . . .best use that leash. 90% of the dogs you will see there are on-leash. Enjoy the variety of dogs. It's pretty impressive.
There are three ways to access the legally off-leash dog beach down below (humans welcome, with or without canines): You can walk around Leadbetter Point on the east end (tides willing). You can walk down the steps which are located about 150' west of the public restrooms. (The restrooms at the east end of the park.)
Or---you can walk to the far end of the park, to the west, and amble another two blocks. Turn left on Santa Cruz Blvd and walk toward the beach. You will see another set of steps. These steps are VERY RISKY, due to the fact that they are always wet (after the first 50 steps or so) and the concrete gets mossy/muddy. (The steps are slated to be renovated, sometime in the near future. I am writing this on 1/15/18. We'll see how long it takes to get that project underway.)
Both sets of steps are a good work out if you're not used to any kind of uphill walking. I advise stretching your calves, once you get to the top. Just a bit of advice. Don't forget to check the tides, as the ocean can and does come up to the cliffs at many high tides.
The west end of the park is a particularly good place to view the sunset. In March and April, keep an eye out for migrating Gray whales. There's a November migration, too, but I say March-April is the best time for sightings from the Park.
Have fun. Talk with the dog walkers. They generally are a wonderfully friendly bunch, My little 4.5-lbs dog and I aren't at Shoreline every day, but if you should happen to see us (he wears a sweater), be sure and say "Hello."

Cannot beat the walk, grab a drink and salad at the harbor Brophy Bros and walk it off and enjoy the breeze

I have been to Santa Barbara twice now, both times for a work trip. What a beautiful place! I loved that every weekend there is a street fair where artists can sell their wares. Prices are decent and the people are all so pleasant.

Love this park,. Best place to view the sail-boat races on Wet Wednesdays & the fire works show on the 4th of July!!

Find some parking, and just start walking, or pick up a bike from the rental stands. The grass areas are well maintained and the beach has easy access. We traveled from one end to the other, stopping for food and drinks. Great use of your day.

I'm handicap so I can only walk short distances. but walking along the beach on the sidewalk is beautiful.

This is a must see location in Santa Barbara and it only costs the amount of time to get there. The drive here is lovely and the view is spectacular. We enjoyed an amazing walk along the coast toward the South ending with a view to the beach and coastline down below. You can't put a price tag on a view like this or I suppose you can, but this attraction is free. This is the view that attracts stars like Oprah and the like to live here in stunning, romantic, and lovely Santa Barbara.

This is a very nice seaside park with a wonderful sunset view. We enjoyed checking out the Arts & Crafts show that was set up (on a Sunday) and looking at all of the work that the talented vendors had set up. There was a lot of construction going on when we were there, but we still had no problem finding parking at one of the public parking lots across the street.

Lots of dog walkers, runners, walkers, and tents selling stuff. You can view the people or look at the grey sea but dont walk on the beach without shoes its not safe and signs say so. Too many people and not necessarily a good place to swim. But, a good place to get-away and relax.

It is a wonderful paved walk along the water and a great place to people watch. There a quite a few free parking lots scattered along the drive with great place to look out over the water. It has everything from cliffs with no beach access to stairs down to a sliver of rock beach to areas of sandy beach you can walk on.

We drove by after lunch and it appears to be a beautiful place to simply sit and watch the ocean and the people walking by. Look the other way and you can see the mountains.

This is the main beach walk/bike for the city of Santa Barbara. It goes from east beach up to Leadbetter beach passing the Stearns wharf and state street. On weekends there are usually many craft/artist/... booths with very nice things. There are volley ball courts and informal restaurants at both east beach and Leadbetter beach and, of course, Stearns wharf has more restaurants/eateries.

Pretty park along the water with great views of Channel Island. Paved paths for walking or running, benches, picnic tables, restrooms, lawns. No food available for purchase. Free parking.

Had not had the chance to visit Santa Barbara on our previous trips - glad to have this time. The park along the front is lovely for a walk.

Lots to see and do all along the shoreline here. Beach views, city views, many activities and restaurants all along the ocean. Worth a stop and to take in the local culture.

Had fun running around here! It is next to the beach and very clean. Adequate parking and access to a bathroom are a plus.

Every time I visit something new is happening here. People playing soccer, art walks, picnics, kites, you name it!! Great please to walk your dog or stop and take a break from walking, running, or riding on the beach path that runs by.

We only stayed here for an hour or so but the view is great and we got to witness a whole rainbow! Amazing. Leave an hour or two to look around especially the Santa Barbara area very cute little shops and streets.

and look at the beach which is stunning, and filled with dogs and smiles, but avoid going out early in the morning if you don't want to be badgered by those living in the sand

This is a beautiful walk and lots of views of the ocean right along the coast in Santa Barbara. Great place to visit.

This trip was the second time we made a stop at Shoreline Park. My wife loves to walk up and down the sidewalks above the cliffs overlooking the ocean. There is also a public rest room and play ground for kids.

I ride my bike past Shoreline weekly and it is always packed. Still parking is possible on side streets. Wonderful setting, grass area, bbq pits, children's play area and walking path.

It’s a nice place to spend some time, either sunbathing, sea swimming, strolling around or cycle around it. There’s plenty of car parking available and it’s free of charge.

We walked this park every day of our visit to Santa Barbara. Clean, beautiful, and breezy - a great way to walk off all those meals

One of the nicest parks in SB. Great for a walk, BBQ, or place to take the kids. Always clean and well kept. Awesome views of the Pacific.

We rented some bikes and cycled the front, very safe with mostly cycle lanes, so keeping away from the traffic. Great way to see the beachfront.

Great park that is quite busy on weekends. Paths running along. AWESOME views of SB from the far NE corner. Walk a bit further SW to the steps to the beach.

It is a great place with good infrastructure and bathrooms, bike lanes, benches and palm trees. The downside is the amount of homeless people leaving there on a permanent basis. although I understand the reasons why.
Dogs and tar will also be there...(that I don't agree)
Disrespectful people keeping dogs off leach as well.

This park winds along the shore and has some beautiful views of the ocean and the houses of Santa Barbara! There are steps to a beach below! Good exercise too!

We walked along the pathway, stopping often to take photos and watch the surfers. We appreciated having washrooms along the path. Very nice Santa Barbara.

We stumbled access this . A least a mile of art, jewellery pottery and various other crafts apparently every Sunday , super relaxed and friendly vendors .
Gorgeous walk , or cycle .

A beautiful park running parallel to the ocean. Well manicured, family friendly and good parking and well spaced benches, etc.
Obviously, you can beat the view. Unfortunately, the restrooms
were so not acceptable!!

lots of fun and variety along Shoreline and the park.Every Sunday there is a arts and craft fair along the street - with local artists. The several mile path is good for walking and riding, there are volleyball courts, a skate park and lots of family fun to be had

Amazing at sunset, we visited in july so the weather was great and hot! Go eat an icecream or food at the beach.

Lots of grass.jogging paths, kids playground access to the beach (during low tide). Great to pack a picnic and take the kids.

Make sure you don't get trapped in one of the inlets between the cliffs when the tide starts to rise, but otherwise you can have a good time with a friend or a love or kids running from inlet to inlet when the waves are trying to catch you.

The palm trees lining the street make for a very picturesque scene. Having the beach directly next to you with the shops along the roadside make for a very memorable (but very short) visit.

Very calm long walk. Easy flat sidewalk with grass on both sides. Sand between grass and water. Quite lovely. Has not changed much in 60 years.

Shoreline Park is a lovely walk, however, starting here and doing an urban loop hike on the beach is the way to go! You can park at Shoreline, head down the stairs to the beach and walk west to 3 exit points: (1) Stairs that head to Santa Cruz Blvd aka 1000 Steps, (2) go further west and exit the beach via stairs that go to Mesa Lane, and (3) walk all the way to the paring lot at Arroyo Burro county park aka Hendry's Beach for the locals. Exiting at 1000 Steps makes for an easy return to your car back at Shoreline. The other spots are more of a hike, but hey, it's an urban hike! Watch the tides for this activity - you need a zero or negative tide to make the longer walk.

Many times I have seen the dolphins and whales at this park.
It is my favorite lookout point overseeing Santa Barbara. Great views of the boats as well. This is one of my special places to go.

It was lovely to stroll along the shoreline park - great views, a great place to have a picnic and parking was easy.

There is parking, but not enough if there is a special event anywhere near b/c it's free. Lunchtime can be a bit busy but locals don't leave trash and some pick up after low-lifes who do. The ocean view is clear out to the islands if it's not overcast and there are some benches to watch the whales, dolphins, sea birds do their things. It's a good place to walk your dog (on lease, w/bags.) Sail boat races are Wednesday afternoon, Saturday mornings and Sundays. Nothing for sale, but restroom and trash cans are available and you <can> walk on the grass!

This never gets to old to go time and time again. It's clean, and so beautifully kept. We can spend hours there. It's a great place to unwind!

Striding across this gorgeous spot is a must for those travelling through Santa Barbara.
A sunny day with cool air made a perfect combination for walking across the shoreline.
One of my favourite spots in California.

We had a great time walking about a mile or so along shoreline. Great scenery, we walked along a beautiful beach, and certainly could have stopped to soak up some sun. At the bottom of the hill was a fun seafood shack.

This is picture perfect/perfect picture this part of California is so so beautiful and a must see very relaxing and peace not the fast pace of other parts of the state.

Shoreline Park is a lovely area to take a stroll by the water in Santa Barbara. The area is lined with magnificent tall palm trees.

This a very nice park with a beautiful view lined with very tall palm trees making it quite picturesque. There is a long pathway along the beach that you can stroll, bike or jog or walk the dog>.it is located near the Santa Barbra cliffs. There are numerous hotels ling Shoreline drive and there is easy parking.

Cold this time of year. Sun was out which was nice. Beautiful ocean of gulf coast shimmering in sun. Big sandy beaches only inhabited by the athletic taking a run or dog lovers.
Plenty of parking on street or in designated car parks. Close to shops, bars and hotels.
Would be packed in the summer time. Best time of year to go is now. Get plenty of space to enjoy.

Shoreline park is one of the most beautiful anywhere. It sits on the bluff above the Pacific Ocean with a playground for small children, picnic tables for couples and families, steps to the beach and a look over the surfers on the Eastern bluff.

I really like this park. We spent a whole day there on our last trip to SB. We were on the South(?) end and BBQ'd burgers on the beach and watched the sailboats go in and out of the Marina. The views from here are terrific and we even saw seals and dolphins in the water. Our girls are teenagers and they both had a great time playing in the waves (which were pretty small) and kicking the soccer ball around on the grass. If you are coming to SB take a day for this park and plan to stay, play, eat, relax in the sun, etc. You'll love it

They regularly have art shows along the park which represent many different types of art. It is fun to walk along the path and see the art. The Palm lined park along the shore is beautiful and a relaxing walk.

Lovely cliff-top park with walking paths, grassy areas and steps down to the water but watch the tides! There is a children’s playground. There are bathrooms and limited parking available.

We ate at the area near the college and proceeded down the drive. We had cruised it coming in to Santa Barbara as well, avoiding the freeway for a while. You must see this area. It looks essentially the same as 50 years ago.

Enjoyed this area very much as a wonderful end to our day during a touring holiday. We were at the opposite end to the beach but it was still walkable within about 30 minutes

We biked and walk are way down along the coast going through Shoreline Park, grounds are kept impeccable

The park provides amazing sunset views. The pictures will be the proof! Parking is freely available by the roadside.

Great Views of the Ocean. If you are lucky you may come across artists to display their work and sell

Dog walkers, runners, walkers, & anyone wanting a beautiful view.
You can view the people or look out on the ocean and see the islands, surfers (wind or otherwise) or just stroll or sit and breath in the salty air.

This is a lovely area with the beautiful beach right at its doorstep. Walk around to enjoy the peace and calmness.

This is a wonderful walk down Cabrillo. Each Sunday local artists have a showing of art, jewelry, crafts, pottery, etc. for sale. It is popular with locals and crowded. I recommend, if there, go!

Rented bikes and whizzed along the entire route.. Palm tree lined for the majority it hugs the beautiful beaches.. Passing sterns wharf East and west beach as well as the harbour and a lot of the city. Great introduction to SB..

If the 21st century has finally gone too far and assaulted your soul & mind for the last time. Or if you just want to get the hell of its way and give yourself a chance to regroup and recharge.
Then it is really time to go see some simple beauty and harmony. This is the time when I then start seriously thinking of heading north on HWY 101 until I get here.
So that one can just stop briefly and get off the treadmill that life has become for far too many of us.
Because when we ignore the simple fact that one can just stop & then really see what is more important, Instead of seeing what others or even yourself consider important. We start to place ourselves towards the rocks & shoals of life.
Which is not a good move toward gaining some good change / control in one life.
BUT If one can just do this one "simple" thing. Then the idea of hope & maybe something better can be brought back into the picture of ones life.
Now Shoreline Park while it is no BIg Sur. Which in my opinion is one of the most perfect places on the earth. Is just the place to go and see some real beauty and grace,
As it has a great view of the Ocean and the very pretty city of Santa Barbara. Also it has a good walking path for those in moderate shape. That and a walk on the beach is easily done. The Fresh Air dose not hurt much either.
While one get their act together.

Great views of the ocean/shoreline from the walking paths. Also several picnic spots . Very popular with locals, joggers and familys.

We walked a mile and a half early one morning and it was wonderful. Clean and bright, with only one homeless person curled up sleeping.

My wife and I stayed in a hotel close to this park. There is a miles-long beach, bike path, and sidewalk. This coastal stretch is very lively and feels very safe. We took hour-long walks here and really missed it after we left for home.

On a clear day you'll have gorgeous, unobstructed views of the channel islands. Relax and soak them in. Bring your dog...

Take a pleasant walk and appreciate the view. Excellent for pictures with Pacific Ocean behind. You can see dolphins and whales, if it´s your lucky day.

The park is right on the beach and what a view. We were traveling through and spent a late afternoon there. Take the time to enjoy

I've been walking along shoreline park hovering over the ocean in SB for decades... Where do I start ---first of all you could have picnics here as there's grass, picnic tables even barbecues pits... You can meet a friend who needs to walk on flat ground, walk around the whole park, there's always parking in the neighborhood nearby if not in the parking lots. I go there alone often for some quiet time at a break from the heat of the foothills . There's usually a breeze and beautiful trees great views-- Pelicans flying-- accessible and has a terrific entrance to either Leadbetter beach or the Shoreline park stairs down to another part of the family friendly beach... Going down the stairs alone is a fabulous view . Nearby there's also thousand steps stairs to the beach. But let me say the beach here you need to go when the tide is lower than high. The beauty of the cliffs and sea are magnificent. It isn't an official off leash dog beach like Hendrys in Santa Barbara but plenty of people let their dogs walk freely here too. Have fun. In the summer when other beaches are too crowded this is the one I often give a try. It is not the best swimming beach because of the rocks is one thing to note. Nearby Leadbetter surf spot east access too though!

Beautiful spot to walk, dip in the water, play volleyball, just sit or just zone out with a beautiful backdrop of the coastal mountains and ocean. A classic park!

This is an easy to get to Santa Barbara park with great views of the Santa Barbara Harbor and the Pacific Ocean. There's plenty of parking and lots of areas for a family picnic, many with charcoal grills.

Very nice clean park right above the ocean. You can walk the entire park on a wide concrete path. While you walk you can look out on the ocean and see parasailers and more. Parking lot and street parking seemed to be ample. Seems like it would be a great place for families with bbq pits and lots of green space.

Perfect spot to walk along the street, walk the beautiful sandy beach or the 100 year old wooden pier. We stayed at Hotel Milo across the street from the beach so we always had that great California feeling. This area is so clean and safe and bustling with families, couples, singles all enjoying themselves. And close to the beautiful downtown Santa Barbara

As the name says, this park is on the shoreline so you are walking along the oceanfront! There are beautiful views and you can stop at the wharf and piers to eat or shop. We rented kayaks from a place on the wharf and kayaked in the ocean for an hour, surrounded by sailboats and sea lions!

Beautiful views and nice strolls along the beach. There's a great paved path for bicycles, inline skates, etc. Even a busy skateboard park. The biggest drawback? Try keeping count of the homeless, panhandlers between East Beach and West Beach as you walk.

This park is all along the shorefront of Santa Barbara bay and a nice place to exercise or just enjoy the saly fresh air and beautiful scenery. There are a number of homeless people about but not bothersome at all and none approached us in any way. There were several groups hanging out plating music, playing games, or just enjoying being together in a great setting. There are several places to rent 2 or 4 person bike carts.

It is a long and nice drive through the shoreline with a clearly road bike path. We did it twice both ways and we could have done it another 5!

Gorgeous views of the ocean, the islands, and the mountains. Paved walking / bike path or steps down to the beach. Open areas for picnics or play, bbq pits, and playgrounds, too. Benches to sit, picnic tables to picnic. A real gem. I'm here at least 3x a week. Walk down to the harbor or just enjoy the views. Not to be missed.

We went on a holiday weekend so it was a little crowded. Nevertheless, the place on beautiful. My girlfriend had a blast looking through all of the little booths from local arts and crafts vendors. Definitely cool!

This is an "urban park" on the ocean. It is friendly and a happy place, but it is so attractive that many families travel from well away to have picnics. Great fun watching bikes, and outriggers, wind surfers and the likes. Seagulls need to be watched for, but a large space and a lovely bike, pedestrian trail to go up and down the mesa.

We decided to take a little ride to Stearns Wharf. We drove the beach route stopped for a bit. The views are wonderful. You can drive out on the pier which is pretty cool.

So pretty, Lots of things close by: places to eat; shop and relax on the beach . At night the area lights up so pretty with white lights:

Everyone visiting Santa Barbara should stop by this park for at least a few minutes to take in the views.

a magnificent place to chill out and relax. Use the path to ride a bike, surrey or walk along the beach and stare out at the Pacific Ocean. On Sunday's you can check out the arts and crafts show. Watch the boats and the wind surfers......so great a place!

This park was so pretty. At the far end, it feels like a neighborhood park. There are homes across the street and large, wide green spaces for people to jog, walk, ride or hang out with their dogs. The park overlooks the Pacific and there are steps that take you down to the shoreline at one point. There is very little beach to navigate, as this is the part where the cliffs are. I perched myself upon a large boulder and took photos for about 20 minutes. Although people come up and down the stairs, being right there essentially at the ocean it feels very secluded and peaceful. If you are a photo enthusiast, it’s a great place to take photos. The neighboring park before the marina is quite pretty too...lots of surfers there.

This park rocks for day parties, children, dogs on a leash, and exercise. Enjoy the beach just steps away and enjoy lunch at shoreline cafe.

A cool walk or trip to the beach. You can also have a barbecue here or party. There is also the shoreline restaurant next to here.

We were looking for this kind of view of the Pacific, just didnt really know where it would be. As we took our long trip along the PCH from San Diego to Santa Barbara, we ended the last evening at Shoreline Park. Just caught the sunset, which indeed was very nice.
As you may see in other other reviews, there is a rather large number of homeless in the area. I figure if I was homeless, I think the best you could make of it is at least enjoy the view. We were not badgered or bothered by anyone.

A big grassy bluff with paved sidewalks overlooking the ocean. A short walk to the harbor and warf. Wonderful winter whale watching fro. The bluff and it is free.

The Pacific Ocean is one of my favorite places and this is THE PLACE to soak in the California sun - a walk on the beach or on the cliff - peaceful and magnificent.

my favorite place in the 90's, still cool place, more crowded and touristy, but still nice, not many of these paces left, so go and enjoy

A walk along the shoreline and up a bluff takes you to this beautiful overlook right along the Pacific. Playground and several public restrooms. Steps down to beach for gathering stones and enjoying the sand and sandpipers close up. You might watch surfers or Dolphins or the many dog walkers in the park.
A good endpoint for a walk from the pier.

The California coastline is awe-inspiring. This is a wonderful place for a walk and the locals love to walk their dogs there.

We walk Shoreline park at least once a week. Beautiful scenic walking path, bike or run. Never see the homeless hang out there. Along the path you view the ocean activities such as surfing and sailing. There are picnic tables, barbecue pits, restrooms and a children’s playground. Also a great place to fly kites! Years back they used to have kite festivals at Shoreline park. Not sure about now.
Gorgeous weather, a great bike path though a well maintained park along a beautiful beach. Spend time here and unwind. People watch, exercise or soak up the sun. A quintessential Santa Barbara experience
