It is not that large but very informative and nice. I am looking forward to returning (this trip was our second visit) and watching it expand over the next few years. The restaurant has a great atmosphere. I left my credit card and one of the waiters ran to the parking garage to find me. Thanks!

This is a very good aquarium. It might be small but there is a nice variety of animals, the staff is very knowledgeable and nice. The facility is kept clean and has a good flow so nothing is missed. I’d love to go back for the shark feeding.

Great fun place!! Fun for all ages. Take your time going through. Not very big, but fun!! Worth the money! Restaurant is expensive..

I like aquariums. When I was visiting Shreveport with time on my hands I decided to visit. Some reviews said “expensive” (it was only $13; go to a large city aquarium and pay $25+). One said “rude staff” (the staff was extremely polite, friendly and informative). It’s on the smaller side but with really good exhibits and fun “touchables” for little kids and adults alike”. The restaurant “Salt” was closed when I went but had a wonderful looking outdoor deck - wish I could’ve eaten there!

This is a small aquarium but I think it depends on your children. I took 2 ten year old children (boy and girl) and spent over 2 hours. They thoroughly took in every exhibit. We spent most of the time touching the stingrays and the jelly fish. The workers were knowledgeable and able to answer every question they posed to them. Mine are the type to ask questions, read every posted sign and spend time looking at and wondering about every single fish. For the limited space they had available I think they did and excellent job choosing the variety of fish. We were pleased with our visit and my kids want to go back again sine the octopus was hiding and they wanted to see it. It IS small compared to other aquariums but if your the kind that enjoys really soaking in your experience then you will enjoy it as well.

My son and I took my 2 1/2 year old grandson to the Shreveport Aquarium yesterday for the first time. The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable. We had a wonderful time. There were so many things to see and do for a preschooler. The interactive nature of many of the displays, from touching sea creatures to crawling through tunnels, climbing on a replica of a sea turtle, and steering a big boat were fun and engaging. My grandson begged to stay when it was time to go. The aquarium is small so 1-2 hours is plenty of time for a visit. I would highly recommend the aquarium for families with children aged 2-10.

I recently visited here with my wife and young son. My boy loved the dome where the fish swim overhead. What was also great was being able to pet the aquatic animals including the stingrays. It is far from the biggest aquarium we have been to, but it was most enjoyable to my family.

Small but nice. It was a pleasant but short tour. But it was as described on line !!!!!!! I’m sure it is great if you have children with you.

Having visited other aquariums including those in New Orleans and Baltimore, we knew this would be smaller, which it is, but it was still nice. There were several touch ponds, including starfish, non-stinging jellyfish, and stingrays. There's also a restaurant/bar and a very small gift shop on the premises.
While understanding they want to keep it dark inside, I think it's too dark...there's a ledge next to some of the tanks I assume is for little kids to stand on, but you don't see it in the dark and I noticed we weren't the only ones running into it. It should either be a bit better lit or maybe painted a bright or fluorescent color! Also, some exhibits don't indicate what's inside!
There is free parking across the street.

The aquarium is small but well done. We enjoyed our visit even without small children. They have some interesting species of fish, the staff is knowledgeable and eager to share, and there are petting tanks for sea snails, starfish, stingrays, and jellyfish. The accompanying restaurant Salt looked nice, the outdoor seating especially. The kids should really have fun.

This place is perfect for small children to preteens. The facility was clean, the staff were friendly and welcomed you at multiple areas of the aquarium to explain the different animals. Well worth the entrance fee for the knowledge & education you receive.

A great little aquarium for people of all ages. Interactive attractions, lots of educational opportunities, very clean and well maintained, interesting and unique decor and style, all around a really good place. Not the cheapest place to go but I imagine it costs a pretty penny to upkeep such a good quality location. Sad their little restaurant (Salt) closed but the focus should definitely be on the sea life. Bought membership the first time I came here with my husband.

I would tell anyone, with a couple of hours to spare, to visit this aquarium if they like aquariums in general. Sharks, seahorses, moray eels, rays, and beautiful tropical fish. My husband and I went mid January on a Thursday at noon, which was a perfect adventure for a rainy day. We spent 2 hours leisurely walking through the aquarium. But for maybe 5 other guests, we had the place to ourselves which was great. The staff is very knowledgeable and passionate about the sea life. I didn't find a single person "rude". We are "seniors" so we got in for $10 each, a fair price for our adventure - but we would have paid the $13 regular price as well. We couldn't purchase those discounted tickets online, but had no problem getting in because of when we went. We are from Southern California and know first hand what larger aquariums offer, and we are still glad that we went. I would not take a child under the age of 5 because I don't think they would truly "appreciate" the experience. Part of the fun is learning from the docents which obviously a toddler isn't going to do.

It was a smaller aquarium with a couple areas that you could "pet" the various water creatures. It was not a bad visit, but I do think a tad over priced for what was there.

It cost $16, which was high for its size. Small, but nice. Some inside, some outside.
Next door to El Dorado.

First of all, its the only aquarium in the area which makes it unique. Didn't know what to expect on first visit but was pleasantly surprised by the quality.
Many hands on exhibits for the little ones and interesting presentations for adults.
Most impressive is 360 degree fish tank with sharks swimming all around you!
Don't miss the restaurant. Food is very good with great view of Red River.

Granddaughter loves it.we love it we go as often as possible and are always glad we did. Go- you will be glad that you did. I'm confident

This aquarium was really nice it had a lot of interactives for the kids to do, many animals to see and touch. The staff was really nice and informative.

$28 for one adult and 2 children with military discount and it took us less than 30 minutes to see everything. It was nice that they could go back and forth and see the different areas multiple times. It was very hands on so that was a plus and the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. I also appreciated that they have staff that are differently abled.

Small, crowded, and do not purchase tickets expecting to go in right away. We stood in line with my teenager and mom in a wheelchair for 30 min only to be told we had to come back 2 hours later. It took 16 whole minutes to walk through the entire aquarium and I couldn’t believe there were catfish in a tank. Please don’t keep fish I can see everyday.

A wonderful place to visit on a rainy day or anyday..it's small and it ain't perfect, but it's an excellent addition for Shreveport...it has touch tanks, walk through tanks, beautiful scenery, etc. It's a wonderful place. I love it.

This was a pretty nice hands-on aquarium for the price. Adults are $12 children $8. It’s self guided and really only takes 30-45min to go through. The most interesting was probably the stingray feeding exhibit and the jellyfish exhibit they are prepping now. The exhibitors were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The kids enjoyed it!

We went with friends. My grandson, and my daughter's friend's twins had a blast. They have a decent selection of fish and other stuff for a small city aquarium. They even have an area where the kids can get up close and personal with some of them. We had a lot of fun.

Very nice. Good displays. The restaurant was excellent...great food...good selection...nice view and gardens...full bar.

The Shreveport Aquarium is great. The ticketing system seemed weird at first, but turned out to be great. You aren’t packed into a small space with hundreds of others. You have the space to actually look and take your time. I’m looking forward to future visits as they grow and expand.

This is a nice small aquarium with friendly staff members. The tanks are really nice and the fish are beautiful. The exhibits are well marked so that you know what you are looking at. It does not take long, maybe an hour or so, depending on how long you want to gaze at the exhibits. It was a nice experience. Something different to do in Shreveport.

Customer service was amazing! They overheard it was my daughter’s birthday and they gave her a pin and card that everyone signed and wrote special wishes! Thank you so much for our first time special

Great little aquarium. Decorated really cool for Christmas. Plenty of hands on exhibits (starfish, sea urchins, sea slugs, moon jellyfish and stingray feeding).
Mostly all Pacific Ocean (CA to WA coastline) setting.
White tip reef sharks are cool looking with a great set up.
The snapping turtle was active and surfaced when we were there, which is a treat.
Not competing with your giant aquariums, but worth the time with the family.

My husband and I were visiting Shreveport on business and decided to go to the aquarium. We had the best time! The aquarium is so nice and has so many things to look at. All the staff there are friendly and helpful, especially Mary! She talked to my husband and I about everything from Jellyfish to Vegas trips to weiner dogs! She is so friendly and helpful and makes the place feel like you’ve been there a million times. Give Mary a raise!

We went early on a Saturday morning. Th prices are reasonable. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. You can feed stingrays and touch different sea life such as jellyfish and starfish. There is a tunnel tank with sharks and other big fish you can walk through and see from all angles. It is a very clean and well kept establishment. I will definitely be going back!

The family, which included children who were 5, 6, 7, 10 and 13, as well as my daughter, son-in-law, and me, went to The Aquarium on a Saturday. It was easy to park and to walk a block to get to the entrance. We received a group rate. Followed a path through a fun and educational experience. Locations allowed a view of all manner of sea life and two places allowed one to touch sea stars, stingrays without barbs and to hand feed the rays with food that could be purchased. We walked under a glass topped path in one area and could see sharks and other types of fish swimming over us. There’s an on-ste cafe featuring seafood. There’s also an outdoor area with exhibits and small fake boats and barrels for the kids to play on. Not a huge exhibit but an enjoyable time for all of us. It was worth the trip

This is an interesting little place. They do have a few things that I’ve never seen anywhere else. I wasn’t a fan of the staff at all, though. Every person we came in contact with was rude. They don’t seem to handle toddlers well at all. For some reason we had a “guide” which kept us from being able to do our tour at our own pace which is important when you have twin 3 year olds. It was interesting but because of the staff I wouldn’t go back.

If you're looking for a huge aquarium full of large animals, you won't find this here - but for a city the size of Shreveport, this aquarium is well run with lovely displays. The staff are helpful and friendly and it makes for a fun, albeit short, adventure. It is a great place to bring small children, seniors and all members of your family. Be sure to visit the stingray petting center. My grandchildren loved doing that - not for me - I've been there, done that in the wild - no sir! Not for me! But the children loved it! LOL
Don't go expecting NOLA or Dallas size level aquarium and you'll leave pleasantly surprised.
Well done Shreveport!

We live in Shreveport, but it just took us a while to visit the aquarium. It was a very nice experience. Small, but with a big variety of fish and animals. We really enjoyed our visit.

Very nice for venue in Shreveport area--children really enjoyed it--don't expect one the size of large markets such s Dallas or New Orleans--realize that N.O. costs $30, this costs $8. Price is comparable to a movie, so treat everyone to this fun, unique activity instead of the common movie. Visit during a non-holiday time when you can move at your own pace, slow down and enjoy the displays, and go back and forth through displays--otherwise, it is too crowded and you are moved along with the crowd in a large circle, and then out the door. It needs to incorporate more fish from local lakes, Red River, and Mississippi River.

We enjoyed our visit very much. The anemones in the touch tank need some powerful lights though. Otherwise they won't come out. Also, need some crabs in the last little tank to deal with the hair algae.

Shreveport Aquarium did a nice job of including native fish to Louisiana as well as native plants and trees in the atrium area. Great place for receptions/parties. The hands on tanks are great for the kids. Although small, it is a nice new stop for those who live or are visiting the Shreveport/Bossier area. Just wish there were signs identifying all the fish. The restaurant SALT was delicious!

Smaller than they made it out to be before construction it it’s still a good little spot to take your kids

Went with our granddaughter and it is very well organized. Staff is very knowledeable. There are quite a few exhibits that are very well displayed. Not very big so you have to make reservations before you go. They do have different times all throughout the day so you can still go on the same day that you make the reservations.

Had a great time; called ahead to make sure tickets were available and went right in. I was impressed by the facility but thought it could have had a little more. Seemed like a minimum instead of a maximum, although my 4 1/2 year old granddaughter did have a great time.

This aquarium is small but very well organized with the space. They have 30 tanks with over 3000 species of fish. I love the eels and the sharks. They have petting areas for kids and adults alike. Plan your trip around lunchtime because the have a gorgeous patio on the Red River that is amazing

Shreveport Aquarium is a great venue for all ages. I was impressed with the customer service team as we needed six family passes issued, on a Saturday, during the holiday season and the young men who assisted us were very patient and efficient. The variety of "water life" is extensive, and the interactive activities are educational. I recommend making reservations in advance.

The best part was touching the sea animals! The kids absolutely loved it. Plus, the little glass dimes that allowed them to crawl beneath the exhibits and view the fish up close was cool. We enjoyed our visit.

We planned a weekend trip to Shreveport to visit the Norton Art Gallery and the Aquarium. What a great treasure this is for the city and surrounding area! First, we want to recognize the staff of the aquarium. Every single person we encountered was so nice and knowledgeable. They were all a huge part of what made our visit so special. This aquarium isn't as large as some, but they have incredible displays and have wonderful interactive experiences for guests to enjoy. We've visited some of the largest aquariums in the United States and can truly say they are doing a wonderful job in Shreveport. Put this on your list.

A fun hands-on experience as you have the opportunity to touch many of the sea creatures at the aquarium. Other than that, the experience was underwhelming

My girls and I loved it! Very hands on and fun! The inside looked amazing and the staff was very informative. We will definitely come again.

I took my three kids to the Shreveport Aquarium in November. They had so much fun in the interactive environments. Each enjoyed being able to touch some of the animals that were on display. The facility is nice and the guides were very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time there.

We went with a homeschool group and had a tour. The guide was very knowledgable and informative. They dont have a ton of exhibits, but what they have is very nice. Without a tour, it would be very short lived due to being a small place. Group discount was nice. The whole tour took about an hour and we moved slow. The 3 touch tanks where you touch starfish, jellyfish, and stingrays is cool. Stingrays are very friendly and love the attention. Worth a trip but not sure it is somewhere I would frequent except maybe to try the restaurant Salt. Once you have seen it, you have seen it.

Glad to see Shreveport is adding more cultural and learning experiences for all ages. Parking needs real attention though, not very well planned out.

It didnt take long to go through the aquarium, but it was enjoyable. Lots variety of fish and sealife. There are three hands-on exhibits: sting rays, starfish, and jellyfish. Kids loved being able to touch sealife. The staff was very knowledgeable about the exhibits. There is a cafe area to eat at. Souvenier shop is really small but had some neat things for purchase. We will definitely go again.

The exhibits were clean and well kept. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the marine life. Overall it was a very relaxing and enjoyable experience.

This aquarium just opened up so there are a few things they need to work on. The exhibits are a start but some of the tanks need better placarding as to what is in the tank. The wetlands exhibit had little or no placarding so we were at a loss as to what we were looking at. But we understand they are working on it and I appreciate that. Getting in was an adventure too. Hopefully they can improve that process that too! It has the potential to be a great aquarium.

I love supporting area attractions! When I decided to get an annual pass, it became a wonderful way of treating a friend to some fun. I just bought my pass within the month and have gone at least 5 times, taking different guests with me each time. Today I plan to take my grandson with me. I have plans to take my daughter-in-law and 2 more grandkids next week. And, I have 2 more friends lined up to go in the coming weeks! Everyone has raved about it and my friend yesterday is planning to purchase her own annual pass. Oh, and if you have a pass, you make reservations before you go. Then it is kind of like Disneyworld...…….you jump to the front of the line...….No waiting!!!!! Fantastic!!!! One more point, you can make your visit as long or as short as you like. If you have the annual pass, you can zip through and have a beer or wine or snacks or a meal and look out the window at the Red River!

I went here just before I moved the fish were awesome they have a few exhibits like virtual reality and if the sea food you eat is sustainable on touch pads.Love the shrimp that crawl on your hand if you choose to dip in .

We took our time and still got through the whole thing in less than 30 minutes! Very small and very limited parking.

We really loved all the things we could touch and the staff was friendly. Some of the tanks (outside especially) were dirty and hard to see into.

This was an unplanned visit with my daughter to take up time during the day. At first I thought it was going to be small and quick and not worth the entrance fee however after a very leisurely hour and a half to two hours I came to the conclusion this is a very well maintained and organized Aquarium. There were multiple hands on exhibits unlike larger aquariums. The Rays were extraordinary friendly with visitors and provided a very fun experience. It is definitely worth the money and also they do have a veterans and First Responders discount.

I guess I expected too much. It was too small and the staff wasn't very friendly. I don't believe I got my money worth

We had a fun afternoon at the Aquarium today. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Touch stingrays and jellyfish and starfish among other creatures. Very fun!!

My wife and I were thoroughly impressed with our visit to the aquarium. Your staff was knowledgeable, helpful and enthusiastic. We took our nephews and niece and they had a blast. Thank you for a great visit and educational experience.

Must-see when in Shreveport! Diverse and unusual species, immaculate facility, extremely engaging and knowledgeable staff. Costumed pirate and mermaid pose for photos to amuse young and old alike. Touch tanks provide the unique and special experience of petting sting rays. Lovely gift shop, cafe and bar for afterwards. Plan on lingering among seahorses, jellyfish and tropical fish for a couple hours!

Read it was small. Was not expecting much. Big surprise. Friendly staff. You can touch jellyfish, star fish and hand feed stingrays! We were all pleasantly surprised.

Website to buy online tickets is AWFUL. Worst one we’ve ever seen. Makes you not even want to go. GO AHEAD AND PULL YOUR HAIR OUT NOW!!!

After all the hoopla getting the aquarium opened I was very let down there wasn't more to it than it is. I am sorry to say I won't recommend taking the time to visit this place. You can buy tickets there and wait in lines to get in or buy them on line. Either way there's no benefit one or the other. The so called restaurant looked more like a bar. My 9 year old grandson wasn't impressed so that should tell you something.

This was a great place to visit! We enjoyed the tour, and the staff was very friendly and answered questions. A highlight was being able to pet rays and jellyfish!

The staff are simply amazing. It may be smaller than other aquariums however, it has lots of animals and fish.
It is always very clean and they have sanitizer stations everywhere.
Our favorite part was feeding the stingrays. We have been several times and will continue to go there.

My children had the most amazing time at the aquarium! Was the perfect mix of activity. There was a great variety of fish to see in the tanks. They LOVED the hands on experience with the stingrays, jellyfish, and starfish exhibits. As soon as we left they begged to go back the next day..... so we did. And it was just as amazing the second time. The staff was incredible. After our second visit we stayed and ate at Salt, which was so tasty!! The S’more dessert was fun; my children thought it was so neat to roast them at our table! The service was also great. We purchased season passes so we can go again and again!

Their were 15 of us and we loved it. It was a Christmas present to my 8 grandchildren and their parents

I think when the Shreveport Aquarium really gets all of its wheels moving it will be a fabulous small aquarium. After our first visit, we had to change it to a Season Pass because my 3-year old LOVED "petting" the sting rays and jellyfish! Hopefully they start selling sting ray food soon so he can experience that was well! We depend 30 minutes at the sting ray tank yesterday and about 20-30 at the sting ray tank going back and forth. It would be great if they had some kind of stair system or stool where smaller kids could touch without being held. He desperately wanted the octopus to move, but it didn't (we went back to check!). I also loved the paddle fish tank. I rewally like how the write ups about the fish are short and child friendly. The staff is knowledgeable about the animals and are patient and sweet when a 3-year old doesn't quite follow the ruled despite his mommy repeating them over and over! He also could have watched the eels and flashlight fish forever, but people were behind us.

We absolutely loved it! The jellyfish were my sons favorite! He was only 19months old when we came so the first touch pool was too cold and non moving to get his attention but he loved all of the tunnels he could pop up in to see the “fishes” and although he didn’t want to actually touch the stingrays, he enjoyed watching them. My favorite and my husband’s were the shrimp who gave us a nice little manicure! Lol thanks for a great family time!

We enjoyed the aquarium a lot of attractions but would love to see more I think it's headed in the right direction indefinitely the family will return

A small but interesting aquarium! The marine biologist there helps and instructs you as you walk through and the fish and sea life there are very interesting. You have a chance to pet sting rays, star fish and jelly fish. We had an awesome time and will enjoy visiting again. Entrance is a little pricey, but it's worth it.

For a smaller aquarium, it's really neat! Its very "hands-on" for the kids with lots of things to keep them interested. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the different fish. The employee at the Jellyfish hands-on display (i didn't catch his name) was fantastic! It took us about 1.5 hours to go through the whole place.

The facility seemed to be run well. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, and the place was clean. I liked that we could register on line ahead of time so that we did not have to stand in line. I would have liked to purchase a senior citizen ticket on line, however. I also liked that if we had not been able to attend that day, that we could have rescheduled or gotten a refund. There were some neat special features also.

We visited here one afternoon as it was close to the hotel. The aquarium itself does not have an abundance of sea animals but it had many interactive areas. Part inside and part outside, you could see many interesting animals (paddlefish, alligators, jelly fish, stingrays) and there were staff members there to answer questions and in many places, allowed you to touch the animals after washing your hands. Compared to other aquariums, it seemed smaller but the staff made it an enjoyable experience.

Was disappointed it was less than a hour. Felt it was priced high for senior citizens. The best part was the stingrays. Expensive and short. Our zoo in Alexandria last several hours and only cost $12.00. But it was clean and the workers were very friendly

This aquarium was very small compared to others so I felt it was overpriced. There were some very neat exhibits and creatures to see and experience, however we were finished exploring in just a little over an hour. You could maybe spend 2 hours here if you were to linger at the exhibits where you can touch and/or feed the animals. Even though we were not there a long time, we did encounter some things we had never seen before.

Enjoyable, well done, small-aquarium experience provided at this new venue on the banks of the Red River in downtown Shreveport. Walk-through took about an hour and a half and that was at a very leisurely pace. The exhibits included sealife from a wide variety of salt water settings (reef, coastal, deepwater, etc.) plus an indoor display area with a tank of local fish plus plants and ducks. There were occasional educational, interactive activities for kids. The highlights were the areas where guests could touch starfish and rays. We went on a Saturday morning, and staff were posted at several exhibits to give explanatory presentations, enlivening the experience. There are photo opportunities (no flash allowed) of exhibits and for selfies/group shots. This is a new venue, so hope over time they add more educational signage about the exhibits and environments they depict. Not many places to sit inside the walk-through so definitely wear walking shoes. Would go back if they announced a new exhibit to see or there is a special event of interest. There is a very small gift shop plus a restaurant available. Very near the Louisiana Boardwalk shopping area so paired our visit with a visit there too, making for an enjoyable day.

Visited the aquarium on black friday. We had a large group with all ages. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Loved the interactive exhibits. We all had a great time!!

The aquarium itself is small but they made great use of the space. The pricing is reasonable for the size so none of that was disappointing. The worst thing about this was the process to get inside. I had to pre-purchase tickets online and then still had to wait in line 20 min to be allowed inside. They were trying to control the size of the groups that entered but we still ended up at the same exhibits at the same time as everyone else. I looked at season passes because they were fairly priced but they have to reserve their time to attend too. We like to be spontaneous and visit things like this. I don't want to plan every moment of my day.

First I would like to give a shout-out to the staff! They are absolutely wonderful! Everyone made us feel welcomed, and they were very knowledgeable.
The aquarium is superb! The facilities are clean, and you can tell the animals are taken care of well. The flow is well thought thru. It is not huge but there is lots to see, do, and learn. The pricing is excellent for all it has to offer and the amazing staff!
We will definitely make the drive to visit again!

Great! I took two of my grandchildren, and they loved it. So did I! All it needed was an occasional place to sit for the old folks that are enjoying the fish also. The aquarium is a huge hit!

We really enjoyed our visit to this small aquarium. It does not have a lot of space in the building but it was very well thought out and planned for accordingly. It did not take us long to go through the entire experience but it was well worth the time spent. The sharks were our favorite of course but there were plenty of opportunities to touch and interact with some of the wildlife (starfish, stingrays, etc...). My only complaint and it seems to be all places (zoos and aquariums alike) is that there really isn't much of a gift shop. I always like being able to find some trinket or conservation material. Other than that, a great time! I do recommend purchasing your tickets in advance online though. The day we went a lot of people were pretty upset at the front door because they got turned away from being sold out.

It was pretty good. Grandson was a little disappointed because at the time we went no shark wad out to touch like advertised.

This aquarium was sooo much better than I was expecting . 3 adults took two babies. I think we had more fun than them. It’s great for young children! They have a touch tank and were very knowledgeable! I love how many hands on things they had for kids. We had a wonderful day. So much fun

I had done my homework prior to coming so I knew the aquarium was small with not a whole lot to see or do. If you have never been to an aquarium or just want to kill an hour, this place is good for that. Very simple exhibits and doesn't take a whole lot of time to see it. I'm a zoo and aquarium buff so have been to several throughout the country and my review is biased as I base it against other places I've been. Kids will enjoy the touch tanks, including stingrays.

it was a nice place geared more towards kids with see through bubbles for the aquaium tanks that are way to low for an adult to get under to look up at the fish from beow other than the walkthrough tank

It’s was great experience and lots of fun to see.
My one issue is that during peak times 11-4
It is a little difficult and we felt so bad for the star fish that were stressing out.

We were giving a family membership for Christmas and we finally got to go yesterday and I have to say I was completely amazed, it was a great experience. The staff was very pleasant and knowledgeable. I have a 6 year old and a 13 year old and let me say from my 6 year old to my 42 year old husband we all had a blast. The stingray experience was amazing we loved feeding them and touching them and they were very social. We got watch them feed the sharks and my 6 year old said it was sooooooo cool, the eel was my 13 years favorite. There were lots of hands on to keep there attention and with every different section we went to the staff was very engaging and knew all about the creatures and sealife in there area, they all took the time to answer questions and show us cool things that the creatures do. From the staff at the front desk to the ladies in the gift shop, the lady with with the stingrays, the staff with the jellyfish, the ladies in the mining for gems area, the gentleman in the area where you can touch the star fish they were all great and made our visit wonderful. I'm am really happy now that we have the yearly membership and can go back anytime we wish cause my children really enjoyed it and so did I and my husband. We most definitely plan on returning very soon. THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!!!!

Husband, 3 year old daughter and I visited the Aquarium this past Saturday. It was our first visit and we will definitely return. The Aquarium is kinda small but it was very nice and my daughter had a great time. Hubby and I as well. We made it there at 10 to see the feeding of the Alligator snapping turtles and then made our way around taking our time. Daughter wasn't really about touching any of the options but almost fed the stingrays. We spent a couple hours there and then stopped by the gift shop before having lunch. The gift shop had reasonable prices and daughter picked a puzzle right off. I will add a review for the restaurant available, Salt. We truly enjoyed our day!

Beautiful fish and lots of interactive parts too. Favorite part is always feeding/petting the rays. The little ones are super friendly and if you can manage to manage to get a peice of food to the big ones on the bottom, it's very rewarding. They also added a spot to touch jellyfish too! Highly recommend

Very beautiful and clean. Doesn’t matter what age. Being able to touch and learn about sting rays and jellyfish is great

It’s not a huge aquarium and many of the tanks are too dark to see anything. But, the interactive areas are fantastic. Larger aquariums charge extra for you to touch any of the fish so it was nice that it was included in the ticket price. Use coupons, senior or AARP discount for tickets. It would be a great place to take kids.

I took 2 teenagers and a 3 year old and we all loved it. There was lots to look at and very hands on! Everyone was sooo nice!

Blake was a very kind and genuine employee who was very helpful and answered all of my questions sincerely and thoroughly. While I did not have many questions about the aquarium, he was very knowledgeable of the area and recommended many restaurants where we could eat!

I accompanied a group of preschoolers to the aquarium. The guide was very knowledgeable and tried to put everything in "kid-friendly" terms. Very hands on for the kids. They really enjoyed it.

We had an amazing time at the aquarium. We celebrated my daughter Delilah birthday. A time we’ll never forget !! Highly recommend!!

this is a very small aquarium and the bad part you must make a appointment and are only allotted like 30 minutes for viewing I have been lucky enough to been to some outstanding aquariums in America and over seas this is not a good experience go to san Antonio or new Orleans don't waist anytime here it was sad

I've been to bigger aquariums before, but the quality of the exhibits can beat the quantity. Everything is very nice, clean, and kid friendly.

Beautiful aquarium with sea life you wouldn't expect to be able to see in Louisiana. Knowledgeable staff that takes time to speak with you and the kids will love the touch tanks!

The aquarium is relatively small, but we enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and informative and the touch tanks were the best I've experienced. This aquarium was better then the one in Houston and well worth visiting!

The aquarium has been open less than a year and is fairly small. That being said I found it delightful, with lots of colorful fish in various tanks with phone app identifiers, an outdoor area with displays and a tank and some play stops for youngsters-though we used some as photo stops. Some tanks had crawl-into places where you could pop up into a viewing bubble. We had two places to actually touch various sea creatures, and we did! There was also a virtual reality stop for a submarine tour. Next door was a small cafe, SALT, with tasty options. A gift shop offers some fun choices as well.

Every time I go there is a plumbing issue and it smells like sewer. - right next to the restaurant. Last 2 times, there was no feeding the stingrays, which was very disappointing to the children.

The facility is on the smaller size, but it is clean and well maintained! The tanks are filled with happy and healthy fish! We fed the stingrays and touched starfish.
Glad we gave it a try… We really enjoyed our visit!!

Not worth that much money to get in .Also don't pay lol for sting rays feeding until you see 2 minows lol yes 2 for 6.00 .Now employees were wonderful and educated about the animals. So I did enjoy learning .

What a great day we spent at the aquarium. The staff makes this experience. They are so friendly and knowledgeable. Be sure and pet the sea life. Feed the stingrays. There are real sea treasures here.

Very inexpensive and lots of fun for the kids! The tanks were clean. The best part was the staff was very informative and friendly. My kids loved the touch tanks, especially the sting rays and we got to feed then too!! We decided to become season pass members which is a great deal. They even offer behind the scenes tours which we didn't get to do but we will next time.

There are not many aquariums that allow the visitors to pet the critters, but this one does! Not huge, but really a worthy place to visit. The kids especially enjoyed petting the rays!

The staff were friendly, exhibits were fun and the petting area staff were superb and highly interactive with everyone. I highly recommend this sweet little aquarium.

We brought my grandson here and he just loved it. The place is small but its perfect for younger kids and adults.

I took my young grandsons and they loved it. It does need a few more attractions but for Shreveport, it is good

The trip to the aquarium was amazing me and my girlfriend loved it and cant wait to come back!!!! If you could make it a little bigger and add even more then what you have now I think you'll attract more business then you have now.

Great experience we really enjoyed this aquarium. You get to pet the sting rays, they love you to touch them. You can also feed them for $5.

The aquarium is pretty small, but in general pretty good. They had all the basics that would be expected in an aquarium, fish, sharks, turtles. It's laid out well, and was interesting and informative.

We were in town for a college graduation, and the 6 year old was wanting something to do. He had been anxiously awaiting the opening, and his mom said that the lines have been long. We went on a rainy Tuesday (a school day, but he was allowed to ditch school to spend time with us). Small, but well put together. He liked the domes inside the tanks - crawl under and pop up in the middle. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Plenty of room for future exhibits.

Lots and lots of people were turned away. I actually bought tickets the day before and I was glad because on exiting we saw several families that had driven several hours to go and were turned away.
Even with my pre-bought tickets and designated time slot, the entrance was so crowded it was not a pleasant wait.
HOT, really freaking hot. It's a tiny hallway at the front... I guess to bottleneck people into spreading out or something but it was just unpleasant. Turn on the dang AC.
This is a small aquarium. We were done in about 30 minutes and we took our time. You might be able to stretch it and get 45 minutes out of it but I kind of doubt it.
$45 for a family of 4 for 20 minutes of entertainment is pretty expensive. (0 Stars for all the complaints above)
They did have a display where you could touch star fish. (plus one star for this display)
They did have a stingray display where you could touch them (plus one star for this)
If choosing again I'd skip this and go see the display at bass pro shop. Expensive, short and too crowded.

Grandbaby enjoyed it. Not much to it. Restaurant was terrible. Didn’t even serve French fries. Maybe it will improve for the sake of Shreveport.

It is small but i like they have an outdoor play area. They have feed the stingrays. They need to keep their resturant open we were looking forward to a snack and a rest and it was closed!!! Their gift shop is also very weak get some more things to buy with your name on it for gifts. I thought it was expensive to get in for what they had but it was a nice activity for the day. I had my daughter n law buy a year pass so the children could go back and see the fish they loved that.

Very nice but very small. We went on Monday morning as they opened and no crowds at all. The exhibits are nice and the staff very helpful but just not enough. If your going an hour or maybe hour and a half with a crowd is plenty of time.

I took my son and a another little boy to this aquarium, we wanted to see something new and different and not too far from Longview. It is kind of small, but still had some nice touches in it, such as a shark tunnel, a little cafe, the kids can feed the stingrays and touch the jellyfish. We were not there very long at all, but the boys had fun and it was not very expensive.

Visited during the Thanksgiving holiday week. Our daughter, husband and our granddaughter were visiting from Virginia. We all had a great time, and enjoyed it. Our daughter said it was one of the best they have seen and they have gone to several.

The best part of our trip was the enthusiasm and helpfulness of the aquarium staff. Abram took extra time to explain so many things about the animals and really maximized our experience! The interactive exhibits and variety of animals were just incredible. Great value for the money and can’t believe it’s right here in our little town.

We arrived around 10 on a Thursday and got right in with no wait. First, the place was super clean and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Second, the exhibits were top notch. Keep in mind this is a smaller aquarium, but with that being said it is evident that much time, planning and care went into each area. My family's favorite is the Ray "petting" area! It was so much fun. I will also add there are some moon jellies to "pet" as well. Plan on 1 to 2 hours, more if you eat at the restaurant. (Not open on our visit, but I have heard great things!) It is an excellent value for your money.

I was nice to experience and to see but it wasn't much to see. My boys liked it but they don't want to go back because there wasn't much at all to look at. It felt like we went around 4 corners and we were done. It was something different to touch the different sea life creatures but that's really it. We wanted to have dinner at the restaurant there but it was closed due to a private party who rented out the whole restaurant.

The design is excellent, especially the sunk ship and tidal displays. The ability to interact with the animals makes visiting a special and memorable event. The dome will be a great place once the trees grow a little. Only negative is the difficulty in viewing the large round catfish exhibit.

This is a cute little aquarium, for the price it can't be beat. It really only takes about an hour to get thru. They have a variety of fish, some touch tanks, with star fish, sea urchins and stingrays and jellyfish. It had little pop ups inside the tanks for the kids to get a close up. Nice shark tank. Nice place. Not really big but a nice stop if you are in Shreveport.

Small aquarium near downtown Shreveport. Numerous fish to see. Feeding of aligator babies and sharks. Touchtanks for smaller fish and you can feed stingrays.

The aquarium has hands on bins if star fish and sting rays. It’s on the smaller size, but a good way to spend an hour with a preschooler and toddler. They also give military discounts.

Entrance was crowded even though we had tickets. We had to stand in second line to get refund for senior tickets. On your web page one can only buy adult or child ticket. Need to have senior and military on line ticket availability. Terrible flow through first section

It took about an hour to go through. We were a little frustrated bc online said you COULD bring drinks in but when we got there they said no. It was not crowded so we got to see alot of the animals close up and the staff at the touch tanks were very knowledgeable about their animals. Worth the stop. The website says they open at 10 on Sundays but they really open at 9.

Nice aquarium, pretty small. We went on a Sunday & we were the first ones there. It wasn't crowded yet & I liked that. Be sure & use the restroom before you go in. There aren't any inside. Petting the sting rays & the jelly fish were the best parts in my opinion. Parking was rough. It was ok. Good aquarium for Shreveport.

We love the aquarium. Our favorite part is touching the stingrays. The only reason I did not give five stars is because the virtual reality exhibit has never worked and the cleaner shrimp have been removed. Those were enjoyed by the kids.

I visited with my little girl during school hours, so we had the enjoyable experience of wandering without crowds. It is indeed small, but being able to let the 3-year-old go back and forth between the things she liked made it worthwhile. The touch pools are definitely the most fun - even standing there and watching the rays zip around was mesmerizing. If there were more signs with details about the animals, that would give more bang for the buck (scheduling a tour would be cool as well). Overall, it was well-kept, but attention needs to be paid to the curved tank surfaces - they tend to get clouded and make it difficult to see inside. Also, one of the crawl spaces smelled bad when I braved entry while convincing my child to enter. I liked the dome area and am happy that it's being put to use (gives a good indoor-outdoor feel), but the dome itself is an antique and looks its age.

Wonderful and fantastic place to host an event or business meeting. Staff is super friendly and very efficient!! We will for sure book again.

My family and I enjoyed the aquarium. It was fun and well thought out. My eleven year old really enjoyed it, especially the touch pools.

Great little aquarium. A lot of pride in the employees which I think really speaks a lot to how well the animals are taken care of. Feeding the sting rays was also very fun. Great place to stop.

The Shreveport Aquarium is a hidden gym in downtown Shreveport. It is a great escape from the cold! There are MANY interactive rooms within the acquarium. My favorite was the jellyfish touch tank. I have been all around the world and have never seen a jelly fish touch tank before. There are also sting ray and star fish touch tanks. The attention to detail in every room is impeccable.
I would say this acquarium is best suited for kids ages 5-15, but any age will enjoy. If you plan on returning, you can apply the price of your ticket towards a season pass.
Be prepared for a fun couple of hours!

Excellent way to spend an hour! They control the amount of people they allow into the aquarium to keep from overcrowding. There are opportunities to see feedings of several different species, many keeper talks, hands on with sting rays, star fish, jellyfish and more! Don’t miss this little gem in Shreveport!

It was good, but for me the aquarium was a little small compared to others, still I had a good time with my family, and I know my daughter love it!

Read reviews, it is only a two year old place, but totally enjoyed the experience. The staff very friendly, a interactive experience.

This is a smaller aquarium but it is super nice. The walk through was great they had some awesome fish in there. They also had an open space that had like a walking area that had little areas to look at "pond" fish and turtles.

We had an awesome time. I think the adults may have had more fun than kids!! We had family visiting from Lubbock, Texas. The kids loved the sting rays. We enjoyed seeing the sharks!

It was even more fun than we thought it would be. And very interactive. We’ll be going back soon with friends!

You need to check this place out. It's like taking a trip to SeaWorld - of course smaller scale but certainly no less in quality of experience.

Employees were informative and pleasant. Eager to educate. Has a nice restaurant and bar area and lovely outdoor space

My girl and I had a good time! I think our favorite part was being able to touch all sorts of marine life! Jellyfish, nettles, sting rays and more! The "bubbles" built into the tanks were cool and allowed a "fish eye" view! Great variety of fresh/saltwater fish to view as well.

Came to Louisiana to visit family and they chose the aquarium, we had a great time, friendly staff and easy to follow path! Enjoyed touching the animals and hearing the different stories of knowledge from staff

A must see for the family, really enjoyed it. Spent a long time at the displays. Look forward to coming back

This was an excellent experience for the price and the size. There was a lot of cool interaction with different species of stingrays, starfish, little sharks, and cool jellyfish. It was great! The kids loved it!

I loved how hands on this aquarium was. It was clean and neat and just the right size. The staff was so knowledgeable and helpful. We all learned a lot and had a great time!

It was a good experience. It is a smaller aquarium. The best part was touching the starfish and sting rays. You can get through entire facility in less than an hour. The gift shop didn't have much in it for kids as a souvenir.

We had a nice time here. Getting to touch several kinds of sea creatures was a highlight. I also really like being able to walk under where sharks and other creatures are swimming around. The place is a little on the small side--30 minutes is not too short of a time, and I doubt many people would spend more than an hour here. However, I do like that much of the focus is on animals native to Louisiana.

Traveling home on a long four day roadtrip with my 18 year old daughter with a couple of hours to kill in Shreveport, she found this Aquarium.
It's hard to impress me with "small-town" aquariums. And we probably would have been fine with just some neat colored fish and maybe a shark. Get to touch a sea-cucumber? BONUS!
But it was so much better than that. The staff was helpful and professional. There were interactive exhibits where you got to touch starfish, anemones, sea cucumbers (water was COLD!). Great shark exhibit. Well thought out displays and you could scan the QR code on each one and learn about what you were looking at. Even for adults, that was pretty cool.
But the star of the show was the sting-ray exhibit. You could reach in and touch the sting-rays. For a $5 fee, you could feed them. That was a little expensive for what you got - but the experience was totally worth it. And again, the staff was wonderful.
Then there was the tank where you got to touch jelly-fish. The final jellyfish display was something to behold as well.
Now - I'm 52 and my daughter is 18. And we had a blast. If you have 3 to 10 year olds, it will blow their mind with the interactive things they had throughout the exhibits. You could get "magic wants" and touch the pads for special interactive moments all over the place.
The gift shop was a little lacking but as the guy that has to pay for stuff, I didn't mind that.
Would go back again when in town! Great 1 to 2 hour entertainment option. Right next to Bally's casino.

Small but wonderful aquarium. The touch tanks were amazing. Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Best two things were feeding the sting rays and petting the jellyfish

The Shreveport Aquarium is fantastic! They have everything from star fish you can touch, stingrays you can touch and feed, and sharks. There's even a little play area for the kids, or husbands if yours if like mine.

I went to the aquarium with my 10 y/o and my mom. We got there on a Saturday before 11 am. It was perfect. There were no crowds. We had plenty of time and space to watch the fish. My daughter loved feeding the sting rays (an extra $5 I think.) You could go through the whole aquarium in less than an hour if you rush. But we took our time and really enjoyed it.

Very very small aquarium. We saw them feeding sharks & a couple of tanks with moral eels & lion fish. Not a lot of variety. Not worth the entrance fee.

We absolutely loved the Shreveport Aquarium. My family will go back asap. They have a friendly staff and a clean facility. The animals are well kept and clean.

The Shreveport Aquarium does a good job of combining some local aqua life with the larger area's of the coast. There are hands on exhibits and the docents were helpful and friendly.

We have passes for the aquarium and visit frequently. It is a very small aquarium... we are usually through the whole thing within an hour... but it is very well-kept. It’s always clean, it’s never been unreasonably crowded, and you can tell the staff care. I feel like for how small it is, there’s excellent variety! Lots of touch areas and the only place we’ve been that you can actually touch jelly fish! Feeding the stingrays is really fun (albeit in pricey for what you get). For a small town without much to do, it’s perfect for a rainy day or when you want to escape the heat for a little bit. My kids never seem to act like it gets old even though they’ve been a bunch. I’m glad we have it here and I hope people continue to support it!

We love taking our 9 month old here. The aquarium is quite small, it takes us 30 min, but what they have is very good. They have a lot of touch/interactive ponds for learning. They have some jelly fish that will soon be entering a touch exhibit (yayyyy!). probably not the best for older teens, but definitly good for younger kidos. They have a nice outside area as well.
Note- they only allow so many guests in per hr., so if you don't want to risk having to wait reserve your spot online. We have never gone and where they did not have open spots, but we also do not want to wait so always make reservations.

Nice little aquarium, good to spend quality time with kiddos, staff is knowledgeable and friendly.I think is overpriced for what they have but is what it is.

The family visited the aquarium to help break up a long road trip. The aquarium was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. However, the price for entry for a family of 4 is steep for what you get. The Aquarium is average sized and didn’t realize it until we made it to the gift shop at the end. In total, we probably spent about 30-40 minutes there which included feeding the sting rays and watching the turtles feed.

Small but well worth the visit... Very pretty and clean. Set up for children to see well as adults. Went last year and it is improving each time I have gone. A true asset for Shreveport and area.

We visited the aquarium at the end of June. Our young child (8) really enjoyed it as did the adults. Plan about 90 minutes for the visit if you have young children as they will enjoy the tank pop up bubbles and tunnels. The jellyfish tanks was fun! There is a touch tank as well as a manta ray tank where you can purchase food to feed them (Highly recommend). We will return!

So glad to have an aquarium in Shreveport. It has a lot of interactive stations for children to enjoy. The atrium area with the play in/on sea animals was my 3 year old grandsons favorite. The only thing better would have been for them to actually move like a ride on toy. All in all a great place. Loved it!!

Our group of four adults and four children had a great visit. The place isn’t huge, but the exhibits are really well done and interesting/entertaining. We really enjoyed it. The kids loved mining for stones. And touching the jelly fish was a unique experience. The place delivered good bang for buck. And the staff was great.

The Shreveport Aquarium was very pleasing to say the least. It was beyond what I expected and the kids loved it. For the size of the building, the price was very reasonable. The staff members were very nice, friendly and informative. I would definitely recommend others to come here and have the great experience.

Was AMAZING! Friendly staff and exquisite service. Love to the girl that did the starfish she was African-American with really curly hair I can't remember her name but she was awesome awesome she explained everything to us and told us what everything was great service!!

There are interactive exhibits where you can touch sea life or stick your head up in a bubble to see sharks up close. But, the aquarium is small. It's more geared towards children.

We like visiting aquariums and thought this would be a fun thing to do. With Covid you have to purchase an online timed ticket (of which there were plenty) and masks are required. Admission is $15/adults; $12/ages 12-3 with no discounts. This was a bit high given how small the aquarium is and not all exhibits being open due to Covid. Plus feeding the manta rays and sluicing for gems were additional fee activities. But the displays are very nice, the fish colorful and the staff was very friendly. The Halloween decorations were fun. You are allowed to touch the shrimp, crabs and starfish and even the hungry rays. My elderly mother even enjoyed this! There isn’t a lot of seating for the elderly so bring a wheelchair or walker with a seat as you can spend a fair amount of time staring at the fish. There is a small gift shop with cold drinks/snacks but no open eating facilities. We spent an hour here.

I really loved finding the octopus! Her name is Ursula and she likes to hide in a little L-shaped tube. Octopuses are really quirky and love to hide. Ursula even uses shells as doors or shields to avoid being seen! She is so cute! I hope to see more cephalopods soon!
The pricing is super good! Less than $15 for an adult is amazing considering the aquarium takes 1-2 hours and lets you pet stingrays, sea jellies, and tidepool animals like sea stars and sea cucumbers! The Audubon Aquarium in New Orleans costs more than twice as much as this one and has way less cooler animals and experiences.
I will definitely come back here! A total reccommend for people who are interested in animals and sea life! Even if you come with your family, it is a lot of fun to get to learn about these amazing creatures!

Nice aquarium, and it's like a smaller version of larger aquariums I've seen in bigger cities. Worth a visit with the kids at least once.

It was my birthday and I wanted to go somewhere close, but meaningful. I had lived in Shreveport during the 1970s and wanted to experience it with my wife. We had a wonderful lunch at a funky, little local eatery, Herbie K's (get the Shrimp Buster). Then we went to the Norton Gallery expecting to spend about 45 minutes. The Norton, however, had tripled in size and displays. It is incredible for the number of high caliber pieces, and for the fact that there is no admission charged. We spent 2 1/2 hours just in the American section and are looking forward to going back just to see the European and Asian displays.

I took my five children, ages 1,4,10,14 and 18. It took us about an hour or so to go through the whole thing, which was shorter than I expected but it was still fun. We went on a Thursday morning and it was still a little crowded but not so much that you missed anything. I would recommend for a fun day trip. My children enjoyed it.

It’s small. Well done, but small. Took maybe 15 minutes to walk through. Touch tanks were fun. Well maintained and tanks are very nice.
Not what I expected for $30 a couple but it was cute.

Took my grandson this weekend. Expected to be impressed. Nope!! Touring the whole thing takes maybe 35 to 40 minutes tops. If it weren't for the hands on areas, like petting a sting ray or jellyfish, you would be better off going to your local pet store. They're trying to provide a good experience but just don't get there, especially considering the price. Maybe if they get a couple of movies like IMAX or 3D's they could make it a little more entertaining. "A" for effort but "D-" for actual experience.

We toured this place as a field trip for our school group. Everyone had a great time, the kids and adults really enjoyed the sting ray pool.

My son and I went here for the first time on a Sunday (mother's day) and had a great time.
They had a lot of different types of animals and even had touch tanks; sting rays, jellyfish, starfish, and other animals. The sting rays were really cool, very friendly and looking for food! We spent the most time in that area. They also have a mining area, you can buy a bag of gems and sift through with the running water. The staff is knowledgeable and super friendly.
We would recommend going here.
FYI! The sting ray feeding is $5 per cup...and you get 2 little sardine fish. I'm sure the money goes to a good cause. Also the mining gem bags range from like $7 to $30(I think).

Had more than we expected. Nice displays, good variety, excellent stingray encounter. Allow about 1.5 - 2 hours. Our kids are 15 & 16 and they enjoyed. Aquarium is a little more geared towards younger kids 12 and under but not enough that the older mind. Glad we stopped by.

Aquarium was very small, exhibits were missing fish, was dirty, no towels at sone of the touch exhibits, crowded, overpriced, and just not something i would do again

I heard about the place and had to go. There were many hands on activity for children as well as adults. One thing you have keep in mind while visiting is that you’re not in a bigger city (New Orleans,Atlanta ect) that’s known for there aquariums. Shreveport is a smaller city that wanted to give people the opportunity to see a beautiful aquarium without traveling hundreds of mile. Now I’m not saying it’s the biggest aquarium in the world,I’m just saying it’s very nice! The staff was amazing and it wasn’t crowded at all. Honestly speaking, this place will definitely get more visits from my family! The only thing about this place that I found difficult was finding the parking area.

Great addition to Shreveport. Good for small children. This aquarium has a long way to go, but off to a start. Lots of space that could be utilized a little better. Prices are fair for this size aquarium though. Restaurant is at the exit next to dirty restrooms and gift shop and feels real more like a cafeteria than a place I would want to go on date night.

There wasn't much to do in Shreveport other than the casinos. We did visit the aquarium. It wasn't how advertised and paying $5 for a wand to activate 4 things was bummer. Staff wasn't really friendly. One person pushed us out of the way to move a ladder to one of the tanks we were observing. The place was basically empty and it was unrealistic how rude they were or not allow us to explore.

The Shreveport Aquarium is a cool place to visit for young and old alike. The guide we had shared a wealth of interesting facts about the marine life and habitats. There are several opportunities for hands on experiences such as the star fish and sting rays.

I would have considered our visit to this very small aquarium a total waste if it hadn’t been for the stingray touch tank. We’ve visited this kind of touch tank many times in many places, but these were the most social and interactive rays I’ve ever experienced. Our local zoo has a touch tank three times as big as this one, but the rays there swim down the middle and only occasionally interact with visitors. But at the Shreveport Aquarium, if you put your hand in the tank, the rays would soon be nudging you to pet them. We joked that these weren’t rays – but rather “flap flap puppies,” because that’s how friendly some of them were. Two small white cownose rays were the most social, but other rays participated as well. You could pay extra for food to feed them, but since I got the chance to touch and see them without the extra expense, I didn’t see a need for that. At one end of the ray tank, there was a small area where you could put your hands in and cleaner shrimp would crawl over you. In the next room, you could touch moon jellies (small jellyfish), which I’d seen elsewhere but never had the chance to touch before. There was also a tide pool area where you could touch starfish, sea anemones, and sea cucumbers, but that was much more typical of other aquariums. The rest of the exhibits were small and rather unimpressive. After entering past two large tanks of tropical fish with little or no labels, there was an atrium-like area with tanks containing gar, paddlefish, and water features with turtles and wood ducks. After the tide pool areas, there was an octopus tank that was so dark we couldn’t see anything, and tanks with flashlight fish, and moray eels and spiny lobsters. Just before the ray area, there was a walk-through tunnel which was about 15 feet long, and had small sharks and more tropical fish. There were a few tanks after the ray area, a small virtual reality area (with a very kiddish VR experience), and that was about it. Even the tiny gift shop wasn’t very impressive. At the back of the building, there was a small restaurant overlooking the Red River called the Salt Cafe, which you could enter without paying aquarium admission, but we didn’t eat there. While I had fun with the stingrays, we only stayed here about 45 minutes total, and I can’t really recommend this aquarium, except maybe for families with small children.

The grandkids had a great time! We would go back again. Needs to have a little more, but a fun little place.

Visiting the Shreveport area for a concert, but had some extra time so one of the items on our to do list was to visit the Shreveport Aquarium. As was noted in other reviews the aquarium is small but has a good variety of sea life. Handfeeding the stingrays and touching them was different and somewhat exciting. Couldn't get my wife involved on that one. Overall we had a great time and enjoyed the entire facility. For the quality and amount of exhibits I thought the entry fee was a bit steep.

Usually my family can make the best of small areas ...whether it’s going around twice or reading about every fish and enjoying their movement in the water. This aquarium is small, cute ... you can probably spend a good 90 minutes if you really stretch out your time. Staff is friendly and very helpful. We had a good time, we got there early and then left for lunch.

Starting with the fish in the lobby this aquarium tries to draw you right into exploring. There are a number of places where you can touch or feed the animals and there are always knowledgeable and friendly staff to tell tales and encourage you to learn about the animals. There are a wide variety of exhibits. It is quite the experience to walk through the tank and have the sharks and big fish swim over your head!

Great experience! Love the aquarium. It was great to visit with my 3 children. They especially liked to get into the vewing bubbles on the bottoms of the tanks.

Took my 6 yr old grandson for the Halloween event, we had a blast! The staff was great! Plan to go to the Christmas event soon.

Smaller than some but presentation of animals was best I've seen. Staff knowledgeable
and friendly. It even scored big with the two teenagers with us and they are notoriously
hard to please. I wholeheartedly recommend it

We took my daughter who loves Dory. She really had a great time. I loved all the animals you got to touch. I felt like a kid myself.

Staff friendly, was a little small but was still worth the visit. Educational had some live water life that could be touched. Jelly fish, starfish, mantra and ?? This is my 2nd visit. Will visit again, and recommend to others.

The Shark week ads caught our attention and the plan was to venture to the Shreveport Aquarium yesterday (Sunday, 7/28/19) Beforehand, I looked on-line and decided to purchase our tickets on-line since I believed the statement: "there are only a limited amount of tickets for each time slot in order to limit the amount of people entering the aquarium in 30 minute windows of time." I selected 2 p.m. time slot. Obviously, yesterday was not the case due to the fact that it was very crowded. Now I am wondering what advantage does one have that purchased advanced tickets? On-line it states there is a certain door to enter for advanced ticket holders . . . guess what? Everyone still had to wait in the same line in order to enter.

This was a great afternoon activity for couples or families. We went right after it opened so it was very crowded. Had some very cool exhibits and much bigger once you get inside and start walking around than what you expect. They had an exhibit where you could touch a few of the creatures, and one where you could stand up in a tunnel that was surrounded by an aquarium. Very cool! We are making plans to go back!

Loved the aquarium itself. Disappointed to not have a map or estimated time it would take and wish the gift shop would have opened before 10 since we were there at 9 and finished in less than an hr. Clean! Friendly staff! Hands on encounters! It was great!!

I enjoyed the aquarium very much touching jelly fish definitely a high light of the evening. Loved the sting rays also. The walk thru tunnel though brief was nice and the little spots where the kids can crawls to view was neat too. The only draw back is that is was kinda small , and the fish attractions seem to be few. It was over far to quick and I was told that they are still adding to the attraction which i would love to see the finished product. But otherwise a very nice experience. We drove an hour to be there so I think my expectations were very high.

This is a nice small aquarium that we enjoyed with our homeschool group. We had a tour guide but would have enjoyed it much better had we been able to take our time and looked at each exhibit. We felt rushed. The aquarium website said tour groups leave every 30 minutes to space the groups apart but this did not happen. Therefore, we had people almost running over us and it was crowded. Next time we will go solo so we can take our time and actually observe the aquarium.

I came here with my family and we had so much fun!!! They had many types of fish and the signs, as well as the employees, were highly informative. There were seral touch tanks also. Such as moon jellies and stingrays. I and my family had fun and wish to return. There is also a restaurant inside, but I didn't eat there. The menu had things like fish, crab, shrimp, and other things along those lines.

Went with my mother. There isn’t much to do in Shreveport, so we thought we’d give it a shot. We enjoyed it. Not too busy. Nice staff.

facilities and staff were excellent--we had 5 adults and 4 children and all enjoyed the experience
we ate at SALT afterwards which was also excellent

We went for a Valentine's Day special they were offering. We got to look through the aquarium after hours and then enjoy a lovely meal at their cafe, Salt. The aquarium had a lot of interactive exhibits and a good bit to see, not as much as one from Dallas but each one here was top notch! Salt was amazing and the patio is cozy and romantic.

We went to visit some family in Shreveport and had to stop at the aquarium before we left. We had so much fun! We got to feed stingrays, see sharks, touch Jellyfish and other sea creatures and even did the Red River Treasure Mine! We had a one year old, a two year old, ten year old and seventeen year old with us. They all enjoyed this as much as the adults did! A lot of great memories were made and we will be going back as soon as we can!

there were very little animals to view its so little traveled from texas will not come back and give bad reviews . its costly not worth the money or travel.

So "hands on" for children. A great experience and friendly, helpful staff. A joyous trip. The restaurant was perfect ending to a wonderful journey at Shreveport's aquarium. I would highly recommend a visit.

Really impressed with the aquarium. I’ve recently visited 3 aquaria in FL. The Shreveport Aquarium has exhibits which are unique. There is a lot more on display than one would expect for a mid-sized city. The staff is excellent and friendly. I’d give a 5 rating, but am constrained by the empty space, which will eventually fill up with exhibits.

We bought season passes and have used them a couple of times already. We love the large aquarium with the shark in the tunnel, the stingray room, and touching the jellyfish the best. Lots of cool things to look at. Great location to walk around and see the Red River afterwards. This would be ideal for any age. We have small children and a teen, we all enjoyed it!

We visited recently and enjoyed the experience! My kids loved all of the little pop up windows in the tanks and we all especially enjoyed touching the friendly sting rays! I think they were smiling at us. All of the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The facility was well kept and the different areas were well thought out.

Knowledgeable staff. Enjoyed the stingray touch encounter the most. We were there for feeding time which was fun to watch.

It is a smaller aquarium but they have some very good displays. You can touch starfish and sting rays.

My opinion is the aquarium is geared toward kids, some adults probably would enjoy it, but not my cup of tea as they say. $18 and 20 minutes later we were out the door.
Parking is the worse I have ever seen. If you make the mistake and pull up in their parking lot, parking is very limited and be prepared to back out as there is no place to turn around. They do have a sign that says overflow parking across the road as you are backing out. It is okay, but just didn't do anything for us and will not go back.

Completely enjoyed this gem of downtown Shreveport! For the price of a 3-D movie ticket we were able to touch and feed the stingrays, touch jellyfish, starfish, seaerchents, and a sea cucumber! Also enjoyed being close up with the sharks.
Take your time and enjoy the little details.

Since its been unusually cold we thought it would be a good idea to come for a first visit. I read reviews on Facebook that informed me to buy tickets ahead of time. Then we left Monroe and headed for Shreveport with our toddler. We arrived on time and skipped the line but once we rounded the corner it was slammed with more people with no ability to walk around them to another exhibit because there were massive groups of people waiting in line for everything. If you took the lines out then you'd have maybe 10 minutes worth of exhibits. Furthermore there were several exhibits that were under construction or simply didn't have sea life in them. Overall I wouldn't come back; the trip isn't worth the money.

We have visited several aquariums, and this one was better than many we have visited. We found it to be interactive, and we enjoyed getting to touch the star fish and the rays. Located along the banks of the Red River, you can eat at the cafe and enjoy the outside seating with a view.

Lots and lots of neat fish amphibians, etc here, even though it is not a huge museum. Interactive learning experiences where you can actually touch some of the rays and other sea life. We spent about 3 hours here and it was ample to see everything. We were well pleased.

It is great that Shreveport/Bossier City has an aquarium. It is in a great location. The exhibits are laid out well and are interesting. I wish this place were larger. That is the only negative I can find. Kids love this place!

First trip, when it first opened, was great! Our most recent trip was the worst waste of time & money. Be prepared to wait in line to get in, even after pre-purchasing tickets online for a specific entry time. There were several dying fish in the first walk thru tanks, NONE of the touchables came anywhere near where we could touch them & the jellyfish exhibit was gone.

We had an absolute amazing time here!!! Love how interactive it is with children. Will definitely be back

We took or Branson here for his 3rd birthday celebration. He thoroughly enjoyed seeing the sharks and other sea creatures. The interactive tanks were a big hit (especially with us adults).
The aquarium was small but packed quite a few exhibits inside. Great outing for a small or large group as there were 9 in ours.

Being able to touch the animals underwater. My students were so excited to visit the aquarium. They thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience.

There is more to do here for the kids than in much larger aquariums we have been to. They have packed a lot in a small space and it was a very enjoyable experience. The kids will love it!! Didn't eat at the restaurant, so can't say anything about that.

My partner, some pals, and I visited for my birthday. My partner and I hadn't been to the aquarium before and we had a really lovely time. We're local so it's always nice to find something to do that isn't "go to Youree Drive" again and again.
The staff was SO friendly and I loved getting to talk to folks as we went through the building - everyone in the touch areas was really knowledgeable and eager to answer questions. I really enjoyed getting to watch the shark feeding, and my partner was absolutely enchanted with Zenon the zebra shark the entire time.
We could have come and hung out with the rays all day. Feeding them was 100% worth the ten or eleven bucks I spent on the food + admission cost. My partner thought watching them swim was magical.
This is not a negative section of this review, this is just an honest assessment that out of town folks might find useful - this is probably not an aquarium to roadtrip to, like the one in Dallas or something. It's not a sprawling complex. It won't take four hours to see everything.
But maybe you're coming here for the casinos or Mardi Gras or a music thing or to see family or just passing through the area and you want a little something fun to do - then definitely come on by! You'll enjoy yourself! Touch some stingrays and anemones!
Local folks should go, make an afternoon of it - hit Sci-Port and the aquarium and the Spring Street Museum, or head over to the Boardwalk. It's really cool to have an educational and hands-on (where applicable) animal experience in Shreveport.
( Shout-out to the little girl who wanted to see sharks and ONLY sharks and was SO excited. I feel you. I see you. )

I think the reviews are on point for this one. I think it would be great for kids and it is certainly OK for adults. If you are accustomed to large aquariums you will probably be disappointed. I think it is a nice attraction for its geographical location. The people were very informative and accommodating. It is small but nice.

Stopped by on our way to Dallas after reading all the positive reviews. There wasn’t a single employee who didn’t speak to us. I hearted the stingrays the best. And Sam, Sam can teach you all about fish!

The area, the Aquarium and exhibits were great and affordable. There were many interactive exhibits with knowledgeable and friendly staff guiding them. The animals appeared to be healthy and happy. Don't be afraid to crawl into spaces to be "inside" the tank with sea creatures. Was with a friend, but would be great for a family. Not crowded & friendly gift shop. Next to a nice park and had a garden area. Worth the visit.

My company was in town for an unrelated event, and we decided to host a 35+ person client dinner at the Aquarium in the Contact Cove. The booking process was easy and Evanne was responsive and accommodating. My clients LOVED the venue and raved over how beautiful the location was. They also made sure to mention that the food was excellent (there were NO leftovers) and the staff was great and passionate about their jobs. If you are in the area and looking to impress, I 100% recommend them.
Thank you again to Evanne and your team for a job well done!

We had a good time looking at all the fish. The aquarium is small and you can view the whole thing in about 30 min. I would recommend getting the yearly membership if you plan on going more than once a year with small children. (I have children ages 4, 2 and 7 mo)

Small but well laid out. Inexpensive. Nice exhibits, interactive and touch. Energetic staff. Took my daughter on a break from business market, she enjoyed. There is a restaurant however we had already eaten. Gift shop was a massive let down. You would think a gift shop would be a cash cow for a tourist destination. Very very small selection, but they had salsa n jam lol . What the what?

Very disappointing. Very crowded in some areas. Not enough attractions. Poor design. Visited Dallas Aquarium this weekend and it was amazing. Should have looked at other successful aquariums and modeled design after theirs.

Took my kids ages 14, 9, 7 & 6. They loved it. The parking was a little difficult, but the overall experience was great.

Our family had a great time visiting over New Years. We’re all adults, and everyone has a great time. What the Shreveport aquarium may lack in size, it definitely makes up for in all the interactive exhibits! For this reason, I actually prefer it over Chattanooga and Atlanta aquariums. You can go here for about the same price as a movie, touch sting rays, jelly fish, star fish, etc., look at all beautiful and exotic fish, and even at peak times it doesn’t feel overly crowded. I’ve been 3 times since it opened and always feel like it’s a good value every time I’ve been!

Went with my family, it was neat. We really enjoyed the cleaner shrimp, they seemed somewhat relaxing.
This place is great for young children. They do not need to up the price or it wouldn’t be considered a good deal. It’s very small and great for minds with minimal attention spans. we toured it in less than an hour with two three year olds and a two year old. Hope they can expand it more in the future. It’s a great addition to Shreveport just wish it was bigger.
