Silverado was the last stop on our wine tasting tour. It was the perfect end to the afternoon! The views were absolutely breathtaking! Must do a tasting on the patio overlooking the hills of the vineyard and all of Napa

Have enjoyed Silverado wines for years and just had to visit on our first trip to Napa Valley. Signed up for the library tasting to try Cabs through the decades. To say that the Cab’s from the early 90’s onward were delicious is like saying Disneyland has a few fun rides. The progression you taste as you move from fully developed big reds to the younger one with years of maturity left is absolutely amazing. Ray, our host, was an encyclopedia of knowledge about the Napa area and wine in general. We walked away with a really nice case of Cabs and a wine club membership. We will be returning and signing up for another library tasting. You definitely walk away with fun knowledge as well as great wine.

Had a great wine tasting here at Silverado. Liked it so much I signed up for the Club. Went for the higher priced tasting as those are the wines only available at the winery. Good move. They were very nice. The person who waited on us was so informative and attentive - that made the experience more fun.
Bought their olive oil and chardonnay brittle. The wine filled chocolates are yummy. Highly recommend stopping here.

We had a lovely afternoon trying various wines and enjoying the views. We were able to share a tasting and try many wines. Our server encouraged us to sit out on the patio and enjoy the view. She periodically came out to check on us to see what we liked and answer questions. The price was more than fair and the wines superior. I would highly recommend this winery.

The grounds are beautiful, but be careful the hill to the top is deceptive. Rather you drive up than bike, unless you are in the mood for a challenge on your bike. Its not a negative - just a tip :) Being on top of the hills is what gives this winery such spectacular views of the valley. It is one of the only vineyards where you can actually look north, up Napa Valley. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The staff is friendly and the service excellent. If you have time during the summer for a Friday night on the Terrace I highly recommend. The food is outstanding for a vineyard that has no restaurant. I have brought friends in larger groups here and also done wine and cheese pairing. On every occasion the staff were very knowledgeable and were happy to share information without being to technical or overbearing. Just the right amount of education and wine appreciation. They make a fantastic Chardonnay if you are tired of all those over oaked versions - theirs is very light. The reds are wonderful and while you can walk away with a fantastic bottle of Solo - there are some great values for money if you feel like spending less. Also, since it is located on the Silverado trail it is less crowed on a summer Saturday then places on HWY 29. Not to say it doesn't get crowded but there is room to breathe. Tasting fees vary depending on which wines you want to try. You can stay to relax and enjoy the view as long as you wish, during your tasting but you also can fly right through it if you are in a hurry, but I would say give yourself at least 30min. If you haven't been there - you must!

While in San Francisco my tour took us to Silverado Vineyards. There we were led on a great tour and learned about blending and even about the olive oil they produce. It's a beautiful and peaceful setting just right to enjoy the wonder wines they create. If you're touring wineries, add Silverado to your list.

This facility was absolutely gorgeous and the people were friendly but seemed very busy. We did a wine and cheese pairing that cost $45 a person and probably would've been better off just doing a tasting. No one explained any of the wines we were drinking and why they were paired with certain cheeses. We are pretty much amatures so we were just left to guess on our own. I would recommend this Winery to others but would say just do a tasting and enjoy the beautiful scenery!

This winery would be worth the visit if only for the views. Great story behind the winery and they do a first class job on their wines and their presentation. Balkis was very helpful in making wine selections. If you are an East Coaster be sure to look up this lovely lady!

Special thanks to Patricia for the private vineyard tour and especially the wine tasting and picnic under the big oak tree (saddleblock vineyard tour). It was the highlight of our 5 day visit to the Napa Valley.

Great wines, excellent host! Private veranda for groups with a fantastic view. Was one of two wineries we considered for our group gathering, this was the top choice! Very peaceful place that boosts your mood the minute you exit the vehicle.

By SimpleBoyInGA |

The last stop of the day. The two preceding wineries were mediocre, so we had a little bit of a bad attitude. What a pleasant surprise. We had learned by this point not to equate the quality of the label with the vineyard experience. Silverado delivered on both.

Nice facility. The guy who handled our tasting was the best and most qualified of anyone we dealt with in Napa. He was a former chef... and simply more informed. The wine was also the best of our trip.

This visit really fit my perception of what a tasting visit should be. Great experience. Highly recommend.

This is a great vineyard to try out if you are looking to sit outside, drink wine, look at beautiful peaceful views and enjoy some time with whomever you are visiting the vineyard with! The wines were just "okay" compared to some of the other vineyards we tried. But wine is wine sometimes, and the overall scenery can even make just"ok" wine" "fantastic" wine! the staff was friendly but not intrusive. My husband and i truly enjoyed this vineyard experience because no one was hovering over us as we enjoyed our wine. It was a very calm, and relaxing visit! We didn't walk out with a great deal of information about this vineyard or the particular wines we tried but i think its partially because we didn't ask.....overall, i recommend this vineyard if you are looking for beautiful views.

What a beautiful winery! It is situated on a hill with a spectacular view of the valley! The staff is top notch! They did everything possible to make our visit memorable! Patricia was our guide and her love for the wine, the winery and the property is evident. If you visit any wineries, you won't be disappointed at Silverado!

Lovely view, cute little yard to hang out and taste the wines. The cheaper tasting menu has pretty good wines on it. The hosts are friendly and explain about each wine, the winery and the area. Very calm atmosphere and pretty - recommended!

By JPSalik |

It is also a beautiful winery well organized for wine tasting and receiving visitors

Great wine of Napa, a must see if you come this way

the library tasting with Ray was excellent. he's so humble and knowledgeable and has great restaurant recommendations

Definitely worth a trip up the Trail to this wonderful winery. The best view of the valley!
Great spot for a leisurely wine tasting with option for inside or outside on the stone patio at the top of the hill.
Hosts were extremely friendly and very knowledgable. Made a feel like honored guests in their home.
We ended up buying some of their wines based on recommendations.
Overall property is gorgeous.

My trip to Silverado was the first time I had ever gone wine tasting. My girlfriend and I scheduled a tour for 10:30 on a Sunday morning. I believe that they allow up to 6 people but no one else joined so we ended up with our own little private tour! The tour with 5 tastings costed $50 and initially was a bit hesitant about the price. After the tour and all the tastings she and i both agreed that it was well worth our money! we saw every room and corner of the winery, they poured very heavily on all tastings and were extremely informing and courteous. I had a lot of amateur questions and never once felt embarrassed. Tim i believe was the name of our tour guide and he couldn't have been friendlier. The wine was great, the view was incredible and the experience was one of a kind. I highly recommend to anyone!

My husband and I booked the single vineyard tasting and had a great experience. Amy poured five options for us and paired each with cheese. She left us alone to enjoy but checked in several times to tell us about the wines and answer questions. We drink red wines but enjoyed two white wines so much we purchased several bottles to bring home. The views were incomparable and the entire stop was very relaxing and worth the trip!

By Bretmcbunch |

Always visit this winery every time we visit the Napa Valley! Beautiful views and great wines. Staff is friendly and fun to talk to. We are wine club members so we get to sit at the top terrace to enjoy our wine!

By Armen A |

Nicely situated on top of a hill with breathtaking views while you enjoy amazing wines. Outdoor patio is our favorite spot to sit & take pics of the valley, you can spend a nice part of your afternoon, the staff is amazingly knowledgeable & helpful. Don't forget to pick up a bottle of excellent olive oil!

By holtzy2014 |

The winery has spectacular views, and impressive art collection, and a perfect patio for a relaxing and luxurious tasting. Our host James David treated us like family and share plenty of stories about the history of the winery and the area. The tasting is one of the pricier but the experience was outstanding- I’m so happy we chose it to start our day! We visited on my birthday and they gave me an “extra” taste of their reserve and a beautiful book as a keepsake. We did join the wine club and were immediately refunded for the tasting. Highly recommend!

By djodland |

The tasting room view is spectacular, and there are lots of nice chairs and couches to hang out as you do a leisurely wine tasting. However, they start at $25, so it's not a cheap place to visit compared to most other places in Napa. The wines are good. We didn't feel ripped off and the ambiance was great. Definitely one of the best tasting experiences we had in Napa, even if pricey.

By AureliaDifani |

I arranged a seated guided tasting over Labor Day Weekend. Many of the Napa wineries feel big and impersonal. Not so here! This is a family owned, estate grown, small production (for Napa) winery. Their tasting room is beautiful and their intimate patio with views even more so. I enjoyed their wines as well - Cab Franc, Rose, Cabernet Sauvignon, and some red blends. It’s not a big place, so I’d recommend a rezzie versus drop in if you want to be sure of a spot.

By Golferfoodie |

First the positive - Beautiful setting and building on Silverado Trail not too far north of Napa. Our service was very friendly.

The negative - Value for $$. For $30 you get a few sips of wine. There is far better value in the area.

By DanburyFoodie |

Put it on your list of places to taste. Beautiful grounds. Try all the flights. Some good surprises in there.

By Anna A |

First time in Napa and I'm still learning a lot about wines. Balkia was absolutely awesome! She was very knowledgeable and personable. We found two wines we really liked and took bottles home. Wine tasting prices are good and the scenery is absolutely gorgeous! I'll be back.

By Shelly W |

Definitely worth a stop. We went because someone in our group wanted to try their malbec and they were out. However, they made up for it by waiving their tasting fee. We enjoyed our wine on the patio.

By Jay D |

Very nice grounds and friendly staff. The tastings were expensive (cost $75 for 2 people) but good wine. There was a small outdoor area and small inside as well.

By csimmamps |

This was a truly unique wine tasting. Silverado serves 2012 not the more common 2014 so you're tasting a finished wine, which of course adds price but also makes for a wonderful experience

By Gamblan01 |

The staff was friendly and attentive. The wine was stellar as well. I highly recommend stopping by when visiting Napa.

By Debbi T |

My tasting at the Silverado Vineyard was incredible!! Our host, Al, was so attentive and generous. We sampled so many different cabs, different years and regions, all high end. He even brought us a brittle and dark chocolate truffles. Wow!!

By MAC3844 |

Now, this visit was one of the top visits to a winery during our week in Sonoma and Napa County. The hostess we worked with delivered superior customer service and had us laughing. The wines were terrific, the cost was minimal and the service was great. We enjoyed the day with Silverado.

Would we go back? Next year we would, even though it would seem strange to visit the same winery again for a tasting. But, we had fun. You can't beat the hospitality.

By Whitney W |

We had a reserve wine tasting here with a 24 person group on a Friday before our wedding in Napa. They were reluctant to host a large group but I assured them we would be well behaved. (only one wine glass was dropped!)
Two gentelmen hosted the tasting and were very nice to our group. However, they didn't seem thrilled at hosting a group tasting. No one's tastings fees were waived for buying a bottle which is a little frustrating because other locations typically waive the tasting when you buy a bottle or two.
The patio and scenery were beautiful, but our first group tasting at Alpha|Omega was hands down much better. We would suggest paying for everyone's tasting on one credit card, which would have made Silverado much happier and made it easier for everyone. Unfortunatley, our wedding budget didn't include paying for 20+ people's tasting fees at multiple wineries the day before our wedding.

My boyfriend and I just came back from a SF/Napa trip and the absolute highlight was visiting Silverado. Just to preface, neither of us know much about wine but really wanted to go for the experience. We did the Estate Tour and Tasting which is $50 but well worth it. Throughout the course of the tour and tasting we probably had 4ish glasses of wine, so well worth the price!

We were in a tour of 7 people and they had 3 wine experts with us so we really felt like we could ask questions at any time. The facilities are beautiful and the view is amazing. The chateau is on top of a hill so the views of vineyard are sprawling and perfect for a picturesque photo with your wine glasses.

I am not a huge red wine person but Silverado may have swayed me. I can't encourage someone enough to go to visit this vineyard; of all the vineyards we went to this was the absolute best in terms of service and ambiance. If we come to Napa again we will definitely make a stop at Silverado!!!

By Luv2Travel7723 |

This winery by far as some of the most amazing views. After getting the 5 glass tasting (reds only), we sat out on the patio overlooking the valley. Although the wine itself was disappointing, the views were spectacular and worth the stop alone.

We had the most memorable visit thanks to our host, Adam. My fiancé and I visited on the day we were originally meant to get married, but had to postpone due to COVID-19, and Adam was resolved to make our visit “the best day ever”. He really did. We will remember this visit for the rest of our lives and his kindness and knowledge about Silverado Trail wines is unmatched. Their health protocols made us feel safe, and the atmosphere was perfect and peaceful escape. Oh, and great wine, of course! Visit Silverado Vineyards, and ask for Adam as your host. You will NOT be disappointed.

I recommend visiting Silverado Vineyards. The sights are amazing and we tryed the wine menu, where we started with more normal wine, ending up with some of their exclusive wines, e.g. Solo

By James Boosie L |

We did a wine tasting at Silverado Vineyards and were so impressed with the knowledge and history of Scott, our host. The wines are great, the atmosphere is wonderful, the view is spectacular. It is well worth the visit. Enjoy.

Off the Silverado Highway a few miles North of Napa, this is a beautiful winery at the top of a small hill. The view from the patio is beautiful, the staff were very friendly and attentive, and the wines are very good. You can take your time with a tasting and sit on the patio to enjoy the view.

By Michael B |

We have enjoyed Silverado wines for many years. We belong to the rare red wine club and we are never disappointed with the selections. As a club member, we were offered a private tour and tasting at the winery. We toured the whole facility with Tom and then were escorted to a private room for a vertical tasting of their vintage reds. Tom is very knowledgeable (having been there for many years). A very nice experience, we will be back next January for another visit. Be sure to say Hello to Patricia and ask for places to eat, She is a wealth of knowledge.

By Lyndsay M |

We had delicious wines with amazing views from their outside patio! By far one of my favorite vineyards! Would highly recommend visiting this spot!

By Randy B |

My wife and I stopped here (no reservation) for a tasting and thoroughly enjoyed it. The winery is beautiful and sits at elevation so the views are equally amazing. Knowledgeable and accommodating tasting staff made for a very nice experience. It was cold and windy that day so we stayed inside, but it looks like they have a beautiful patio area where you could enjoy a leisurely tasting in better weather--overlooking the estate vineyards. Took a pair of Cabs home with us. You should too!

Went for a wine tasting on Saturday- after making and advanced reservation. Everything went smoothly for check in and welcome Rose, table ready and nicely prepared, having great host Katie, getting a few extra wines to taste to a final wine and us leaving after spending about two hours of very enjoyable time.
We are looking forward to coming back soon.

By Melissa C |

We came here on a couples trip with a decent sized group. We thought we had arranged for this, and then when we got there, they said we didn’t have a reservation and didn’t have enough seating. Okay, fine with us. We would have loved to have just stood for half an hour, buy a bunch of glasses of their wine and some bottles to take home, and head out. We asked to do that, and they said that was fine and a server named Erika rudely followed up by saying “ yeah we’ll take your money” which normally would have been slightly funny but was said in such a catty way it took us aback. I’ve actually never experienced any other personnel so rude at any other winery we have been to in the entire region- and we have a home there. It was very unnecessary- we are very nice people.

We will never be back- our large group will surely tell all of their friends about our experience, and we will be sure to tell all our friends in the area to do the same.

By Pamela C |

This was an amazing experience. Our wine tasting on the terrace. The view was breathtaking. We even saw hawks flying. The staff was exceptional. Katie really knew her stuff. Joe came out to speak to us also. Most of all the wine was fantastic. I would highly recommend.

On a whim, while visiting San Francisco, we decided to visit Napa Valley. The main winery I wanted to visit was Silverado Winery as I recently tasted their Merlot and was impressed. The grounds and views were beautiful. We entered the winery and was greeted by a courteous hostess. We walked over to the bar area to start our wine tasting and that's when my disappointment in this winery started. We were totally ignored. We waited patiently to be acknowledged while other customers were waited on before us even though we were there ahead of them. Sadly we left without being served. Wow, not a good review to tell family and friends.

Recommended by a friend, and we loved it. Everyone at the tasting room was so nice but Scott made our afternoon. He was so knowledgeable and welcoming, the kind of genuine guy you want to go to dinner with and hear all he has to say. It was raining and so cozy! Thank you Scott!

By IAmEve7 |

First, the winery’s name, Silverado, comes from the abandoned mining town at the top of the Napa Valley, where Robert Louis Stevenson stayed so many years ago. Today the winery is well-kept, with a friendly staff who ensure your experience here is a positive one. Great wines, great experience. Thank you, Silverado! We'll be back.

By kmschin |

We so enjoyed our wine tasting and especially enjoyed learning about Silverado's fine wines from Jackson. He was most knowledgeable and was genuinely interested in sharing his knowledge. Highly recommend! !

By MNataro |

The winds here are, by and large, pretty mediocre. The estate and Vineyard is truly magnificent, with views that rival almost any other winery in Napa, but the wines were nothing special. $30 a tasting was outrageous.

By WildcatGuy |

We have been to Silverado twice and while the wines are good and the tasting room nice, the view is worth the very short drive right off the Silverado Trail. Most of the spectacular valley views require much more driving (e.g., Kuleto, Chappelet). For a great photo op, a nice pour and friendly people, you can do alot worse on the trail.

You cannot go wrong with wines from the Stags Leap area and Silverado is no exception.

This was our 2nd visit and we continue to find it to be a scenic spot for relaxing and tasting some exceptional wines.

By Brm01 |

As a couple arriving at the winery, we asked at the bar a women, and later a man, how the degustation works. We were, to put it mildly, very badly received or like a bull in a china shop. We felt treated like an nuisance rather than a customer. We left and found plenty of other places, small wineries where we were not snobbed. As a note for the owner, it was on June 30 and we would recommend to hire people who appreciate clients.

By wine_traveler86 |

We visited this winery two weeks ago and it was very good, we had an appointment and they welcomed us in such a great way, the tasting room and facilities are full of art, the winery is modern and fully equipped, wines are really good, we had a lot of fun at the dinner-tasting especially with Patricia

Silverado was so lovely, in so many ways: the physical place, the wine, and the experience.

A gorgeous room and beautiful patio with stunning views, I'd pay for the privilege of just walking around! And oh the wine! Have you ever had that experience when the wine seems great because of the moment you drank it, for example at a great wedding, or special night out, only to find the moment was more magical than the vintage? The Silverado wine we brought home was even better than we remembered! But the best part of the vineyard visit was the experience.

I fully expected my first visit to a Napa winery (especially one as highly regarded as Silverado) to be intimidating, with snooty staff and guests flexing their sommelier vocabulary. Not at Silverado! They managed to balance sophisticated professionalism with a very warm welcome. While going through the tasting flight, the staff insisted that I should trust my taste and drink what I enjoy -- I can't tell you what a big difference that made to me, an out-of-place novice. Anxiety relieved, I was free to really enjoy myself. We sipped our last glass on the patio and looked out over the vines. The place is simply beautiful, and the wines were wonderful and interesting. I'm especially grateful to the people at Silverado for making me feel like fine wine is for everyone.

We had the most wonderful visit to this beautiful vineyard !!!! Patricia gave us a great tour !!!! We all loved it !!!!
The vineyard has a great history.... Started with Walt Disney’s daughter.
The house is a jewel !!! A stone beautiful house full of details. For example the stone floor it has on the patios which comes from NY.
The views of their vineyards is Breath-taking !!!
And of course the way they make their wines.
Loved the wines !!! We had our tasting in a beautiful dining room with a huge table.
I can say I love their wines !!!!

We reserved the Terrace Table Tasting and was not disappointed. Our host was great, the view from the terrace was incredible. Our table had our names printed on the reserved card and on the menu card - super nice touch. Although it stated one hour we were not rushed although it was the last reservation of the day and it was quiet. Definitely recommend it!!

By MapleBean |

We love Silverado wines, and were looking forward to this visit. We arrived late due to traffic, and were so sweet in accommodating us. Upon arrival, the views took our breath away. We were seated right at the edge of the terrace being able to see and take in everything. Our host Frank was lovely, he was kind and wanted us to enjoy the wines without pushing it. Love it here. Highly recommend it.

By western12345 |

Four stars for the spectacular view from the terrace; easily one of the best in Napa. This has always been a favorite winery, but our tasting this time did not rate excellent as it always had in the past. The wines were not as good and the attendant didn't seem to be very excited about them either. Also, not thrilled about the need to buy 4 bottles before they comp the tasting fee. Overall, tasting prices throughout Napa had increased a LOT since our last visit a few years ago. And this one, in particular, is pretty pricey considering the quality of the wines is not as high as in the past.

By dennisgL3102TR |

We usually call here on our visits to Napa Valley as the people are so friendly. We were not disappointed on this occasion and sampled their latest wine releases.

This winery has a mixture of white and red wines which are moderately priced compared with others in the area. We prefer red so skipped the whites and fished up with a bottle of their Oakville Station Cabernet Sauvignon which was just right for our palates.

If you wish to try a variety of wines this would be a good place to come especially as you can savour them on their viewing terrace looking up Napa Valley.

By Mollyusd2 |

The view was AMAZING! That alone pretty much justified the cost of our tour. There just wasn't much to our tour outside of the tasting and the view. We were taken around to look at the art collection, and that lasted roughly fifteen minutes. I would suggest just going for a tasting and skipping the tour!

By C K |

Leslie looked after myself and my husband while we were here and she was superb. We found her to be really friendly and knowledgeable! The wine was delicious as the location is magnificent!

By MiMi143 |

Silverado was not on our list to visit, but it looked interesting as we drove up the winding hill to the winery. From then on, we weren't disappointed. We were promptly greeted at the tasting room and offered a variety of wines to taste. We weren't rushed, even though it was getting busy. We placed an order and were invited to enjoy the rest of our tasting on the patio overlooking the valley while we waited for the order to be printed. Still enjoying the goodies and fond memories.

By Rich B |

The people at the winery are very friendly. The tasting room and outdoor area are spectacular. Our favorite wine was the Cabernet but they had many good ones to choose from. Worth the stop.

By Matt N |

Wine was above average, and the views from the patio were great. The value of the $30 tasting wasn't as great as some other wineries in the area. It was ok, but not a place that I will probably make a return visit.

By Yorkiehonora |

Enjoyed our visit - the tasting gal from NJ was awesome - so cordial and pleasant; made us feel like we were her #1 visitors. Great tasting and beautiful setting - up high - you can take the tastings outside and enjoy the view. High recommend for view, beauty, wine and service. So glad we stopped.

By JustusIndiana23 |

This beautiful winery was started by Ron and Diane (Disney) Miller. Everything was meticulously thought through when this winery was built. Beautiful stain glass windows through out the winery were placed by the Miller family so their employees could always see something beautiful.
Ron Miller has a wonderful collection of original movie posters in the hallways.
We had a wonderful tour by Tom who answered all of our questions. We also mixed our own wine!

Their wine is outstanding, the vineyard is beautiful. We also had lunch on the upper terrace with beautiful views of Napa Valley and the meal was excellent. All of the staff were delightful.b

Beware fellow oenophiles, the female (I will NOT use the word "lady" here because it does not apply) who greets you at the hostess stand for tastings is completely and utterly rude. (I am tempted to apply the term for a female dog for her, but I love dogs) ;)

My group of 8 drove up in our limo and 7 of us went in for a tasting. (There was a beautiful golden retriever on the porch so I stayed outside with him for a bit)

I walked in just in time to hear this female scream at my friend, "Get out! You have had too much to drink!"

Umm, let's clarify, shall we?

Facts:
-We have just been to 3 previous tastings
-We are in Napa. This is what is done
-We are in our 40s, not 20-year-olds who are completely wasted
-There were 2 in our group who did NOT partake in the tastings because they are not wine drinkers
-We are sedate healthcare professionals, not loud blue collar workers (and I mean no disrespect to the blue collar group, just making a point that we are more of a loud whisperer type group used to a hospital setting, not loud speaking outdoor type people).

So... In conclusion, NONE of us had "too much to drink." We were all just having a great time celebrating all of our mutual 20-year- and 21-year anniversaries this weekend.

Unbeknownst to us, our driver had failed to procure a tasting reservation for our group of 8. This may have flustered the female, but it shouldn't have been enough to make her snap. My friend, in a pleasant, jovial manner then approached her a second time to see if they could just seat him and his wife when she screamed at him to leave. I have never seen a potential customer treated so unkindly.

This female has completely turned our whole group off of anything Silverado related. When we return to Napa, we will NOT be staying at the resort, nor purchasing any wine produced by Silverado.

Good luck with your experience at this resort and vineyard, folks!

By Scott F |

Spectacular views, wine is good but there is better in the valley. Bigger production winery with good reputation. Place was busy for a rainy, off season trip.

By Johnamcc |

The Silverado Vineyards is located on top of a hill overlooking the Napa Valley along the Silverado Trail. It's worth a visit just for the view, but don't stop there. The staff is friendly and knows their wines. Their premier offering is a cabernet sauvignon called Solo, an estate wine from grapes grown along the northern vineyard from the hill. This is a beautiful wine. We discussed wines with the staff and sat on the outdoor patio to take full advantage of the view. This is a great winery stop.

By Jack S |

A lovely spot to stop, enjoy some of the best views in the valley and drink some of the better premium cabs made in Napa. Silverado sits on top of a hill at about the midpoint of Napa Valley and enjoys terrific views north and west. We visited on a very warm Wednesday afternoon, purchased the library tasting and enjoyed it immensely. The staff was knowledgable but not fussy, ready to talk about the wines but not trying to impress with their knowledge. The wines are rich and lovely--started with the simple Rose, tasted to the top of the line Solo, a single vineyard Cabernet. Some appealed more than others, all were thoughtfully made. The experience was simply lovely. Outdoor area was warm but the views were terrific. the interior is elegantly rustic, unpretentious. Not to be missed.

Silverado Vineyards was the first vineyard we visited on our wedding day in Napa. Super friendly staff, amazing views of the valley, and we loved the Estate Cabernet!

By Chris W |

My title says it all. This place was gorgeous. Their wines are decent, not amazing. The first person who poured was very friendly, the rest were a bit aloof (at best) and snooty (at worst). Loved the view, but we wouldn't rush back

By vt2flkel2 |

Upon recommendation of our friends who is a wine club member at Silverado, we journeyed down the Silverado Trail on up the hillside to Silverado Vineyards tasting too. The view is spectacular. Lovely piano music was playing in the background. We were greeted by our pourer, Balkis. She helped us narrow down our tasting choices to some of the bolder cabs. We were able to take our pours out to the lovely balcony patio overlooking the beautiful Napa valley. Settled on the delicious 2013 Oakville cab. We were convinced it made more sense to purchase a second bottle to avoid a tasting fee. So we acquiesced, and picked up an estate can as well.

My wife and I had the pleasure of visiting the Silverado Winery in Napa today and it was the highlight of our trip to Napa. Ton, our tour guide was informative and personable. Lee at the welcome center was excellent ,as well. It was obvious it was a Disney affiliate because of the excellent customer service. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Napa. The view of Napa valley from the winery is a bonus.

By Hilleliza |

I don't recommend this place for first time Napa visitors, because there are many, much more stellar and spectacular wineries to visit if you are pressed for time. However, if you are a repeat visitor, or you have more time to enjoy a snail's pace in the valley, then definitely stop by Silverado.

1) The views are outstanding and unparalleled. The tasting room has strategically placed bistro tables and chairs, near windows that each offer their own commanding view of the Napa Valley. There isn't a bad view to be had inside. It's most gorgeous during the spring and summer.

Outside, the views are even more impressive. If you are with a larger party, perhaps enjoy your tasting outside on the balcony, under the comfortable shade of a large tree. Unfortunately, due to certain Napa laws, you can NOT picnic out here with outside foods, which is a bit of a bummer.

2) You can literally smell the barrels of wine. On your way to the bathroom, or on your way out to your car, turn left at hallways before the exit doors. Be sure to stick your head into the large barrel room and take a deep whiff of the strongest oaky, fruity scent you can experience in Napa.

I've taken a number of tours in many wineries, many with a barrel tasting, but this remains the strongest and most lovely smell of them all. And complimentary at that. It's just a lovely addition to this little spot.

-----

Coupons are easy to find. Go to Napavalley.com or search Google.

The tastings are either $15 or $25. For the $15 tasting (which I find moderately priced), the wine wasn't spectacular, but it was definitely above average. The cabernet definitely soars. For me, what makes the experience worth the three fivers is the view, and because of it, I continue tasting here when I visit.

This is one of those places where this isn't much to do if you don't book it advance.

There are other tasting options that vary from a single vineyard tasting to a "library tasting" complete with small bites, but these all require a reservation. They are probably quite lovely, but if you are not a Napa connoisseur, I don't recommend scheduling such things and limiting yourself by time. Napa is best explored without the rush and at your own personal pace.

Great location, set on a hilltop, nice building and views, but just a lackluster experience. It was nice that you could do the sampling inside or out, but it was almost so casual it felt like a bar vs a winery tasting.

Outside seating area became really packed quickly which made it tough to move around. Wines were average and presented with little to no explanation. One of the only places we didnt purchase any wines to go as we really didnt know what we were drinking...

Lovely spot, delicious wines. Cathy was our wine guru for our visit and we were treated like royalty! Very nice selection and price range, beautiful property and views. Right off the Silverado Trail, a great treat!

By Jim C |

We spent the day in Napa and hit a few vineyards, and luckily we saved the best for last. Silverado is top shelf all the way. You drive up the majestic driveway, and then you see the lodge, castle, palace, whatever you want to call it. We made reservations to make sure we had the experience we were looking for, and they did not dissapoint. Ask for Rich or Kelsey as your "wine guides". They tell you about the building, the area, and other trivia unique to this vineyard. I am a Disney nut, and the vineyard has a long "Disney History", scattered throughout the property. Ask your "wine guide" about the "Disney Legacy". As for the wines, we fell in live with the Sauvignon Blanc, and then the rolled out the GEO Cabernet Sauvignon. Phenomenal. This properry woukd be great for receptions, classes, retreats, etc. When you think of a perfect vineyard tasting experience, Silverado is the one!

We wanted our winery tour somewhere not too "stuffy." This was such a gorgeous place with spectacular views. Casual or dressy- you decide!! The tour guide was so gracious and we went during "down season" which gave us more time and a more personal tour. This place is the best place to go to for your first wine tour. So much history in one place!!!

By Rob T |

First off, went to a tasting here off season; greeted by Balkis who seems to be the manager. She handed torch over to Jason who proceeded to pour us a nice tasting and teach us a thing or two. Recommend and will repeat.

By Mi2mon |

As we stand here with Lauren, we cannot imagine a better way to start our visit in Napa. She is so knowledgeable and patient with our immature palettes! Tasting room is beautiful, too. Def a must see....and taste!

By C_Zahn |

We enjoyed our tasting here. Our hostess took her time showing us the winery and shared about the unique history. The patio for the tasting was absolutely beautiful. The wines were good but not quite what I was hoping but that may have been me. It was a good experience but not the best we had in the valley.

By Ka1019 |

We visited Silverado this past weekend ... arriving just 45 minutes before closing time. We were greeted warmly and not in any way rushed. The manager/servers were friendly and informative ... we sat on the gorgeous patio overlooking the valley and the vineyards. It was truly a lovely, relaxing, not rushed and not corporate wine tasting experience.

By Ranel P |

The views are amazing and the wines were fabulous! Brett obviously knows his wines and really took care of us. Ask for him!

By car709 |

Being wine newbies in Napa for the day we visited Silverado Vineyards on a recommendation from Karen at the Napa visitors centre - it didn't disappoint! Great wines, great views, and even better staff. Thanks again!

When Diane Disney Miller (Walt's daughter) and her husband (former football player, Disney executive and one of Walt's favorites) kinda retired, they found a beautiful section of Napa and created Silverado in the 70s.....

Yes, we are Disney fans, but you won't see Mickey here and only a poster in the lobby (find it) that even hints of her "famouse" heritage... but you can see it in the superb architecture... and zowie can you see in the wine..... the 2009 Estate Chardonnay and the Estate 2007 Cab are excellent.,.. the latter with richness vs tannins and cherries and plums....the former has fruit, pear and honey, very nice alone.

Go out on the patio and sit. relax and view the hilltop vista....Walt and Lillian would be proud...

By SonomaRichard |

This was my second time to Silverado and it was again great. Our host (John) was friendly and informative. He gave us a tour of the property with the incredible views. They also have some very interesting art and many vintage posters from France.
The Silverado wines, especially the Cabs, are top notch and tasty.
A great experience and a recommendation.

By kj1512 |

Definitely worth going for the ambiance and view! Amazing - one of the best views in Napa! Very quant and Cameron one of the servers was absolutely amazing and very personable. The wine was good and tried a Late Harvest there as well. Overall a very nice winery! It is owned by the daughter of Walt Disney as a side note. ;-)

By CheeseheadKev |

Staff is superb. Attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. Love the wine and the view from the patio is not to be missed.

By Marcy D |

We are visiting from Cooloraso and our friends brought us here. Scott was a fantastichostand was very knowledgeable. He has abrightand cheerful personality. We highly recommend him and the winery. It was a perfect day to sit outside and enjoy the view. Every wine we tasted was delicious. The best part was it was all affordable. The wine sells itself.

By Benjamin H |

Tried the Silverado Vineyards. They have a patio with amazing views. The people that worked here were incredibly upbeat and polite. Our group spent a lot of time chit-chatting with them about several different topics. The wine was very good as well. Would highly recommend spending an afternoon here. Dont leave without getting a good smell of the barrel room from the window down the hall!

By LostInTime |

The views from the area are really great across the valley. Maybe the best available. However I did the wine tasting and was very underwhelmed. I did not actually purchase any wine.

By Doug K |

I went to the Silverado Winery in Napa Valley to see the vineyard and taste some of their wine. The people were the friendliest I met anywhere in Napa. They were very helpful and found me a nice pullover sweatshirt with their logo on it. They served me their Rosato wine which I found very tasteful. The ladies answered my questions about the vineyard and tours. The grounds were amazing. I would definitely visit Silverado if you're in the Napa Valley, you won't regret it.

By katyjw |

A little piece of heaven over looking the Napa Valley - highly recommend it! Fantastic terraces to sit and enjoy the wines with friends and family.

By Stacy N |

The views from Silverado were perhaps better than the wine. The tasting room was perched on a higher hilltop than other tastings we visited, yet I didn't particularly find what they offered to be particularly distinct. The patio view is worth it though as it seemed to be more quintessential Napa.

By LaurenSydney |

We are two Aussie's who visited this winery after a recommendation from our host at Grgich vineyard. We are so happy we came here. The grounds are stunning not to mention the view is amazing. However the one thing that topped it off for us was Brett...he was so knowledgeable and helped us taste a whole heap of wines. The vintages here are fantastic it's such a shame we couldn't take more bottles home with us.
Thank you Silverado we loved our time there and will treasure our bottle of Zinfandel!

By Daniel W |

Silverado is a must see on a premium wine tasting trip in Napa. Their premium wines are worth the tasting price and their Olive oil is very special and has a unique flavor. Vineyard views of the country side are spectacular. Try their Shiraz which is one of the best tasted on our trip.

By Tiffany P |

Our large business group took a tour of this winery (amongst many others) on a recent Napa trip. I would rate this as the best tour / tasting experience we had. Our tour guide was informative but also ensured we reached the tasting table quickly. The grounds and views from this winery were breathtaking and groups have a special tasting area with a patio for lounging all to themselves. The wines were nice but the staff and grounds made it worth the visit. HIghly recommend if you're trying to accomodate a large group.

By Bill C |

Spent the morning in the Stags Leap AVA tasting wines. People were friendly. No food samples, and not sure if they even offer cheese trays, etc. Love the SOLO and GEO Cabernets tasted and joined their wine club. Not really educational about the Napa region, but fully explained their wines. Absolutely the most gorgeous views of any place we visited. Great experience.

By KMuse723 |

You can't beat this view! The scenery compliments a great wine tasting. Definitely put this vineyard on your list to visit in Napa.

By Surbee |

Nestled on top on a little hill, Silverado Vineyard is picturesque. Reminds one of Tuscany.
I visited with a friend we drove down from San Francisco for the day. The Wine tasting menu starts from $30. Note non of the vineyards serve lunch without a prior notice.

By relaxedness |

We were so excited to visit Napa from Australia and Silverado was the very first place we visited. While the view and location were stunning, our experience was dismal. Unlike many places in Napa, we were barely greeted and ignored in preference for members. We were ignored at the tasting area for ages and despite a premium tasting fee were left for long periods. There were 3 in our group and we would get one or two glasses filled but the third left. We couldn't taste, enjoy and compare wines together as wines were poured at different times. It was not the experience I expected especially for the price I paid and certainly a poor experience in comparison to the MANY other wineries I visited. I understand that as Australians we were unlikely to buy the wines due to the cost of trying to ship it back home but that doesn't mean we aren't entitled to an enjoyable experience.

By Baileysdad_13 |

If you are looking to post pictures on social media stop by.
Its a nice place just off the highway with great views.
The tasting room is staffed by very helpful & friendly people
FYI it's owned by Disney
Did I mention the wines?

By Aloha2013_13 |

This winery will not disappoint in any way. The grounds, the wine, the people, the atmosphere!
No dislikes to mention all good things. It's one of those places you have to go!

By lauren k |

Ray was our host. He was knowledgeable and so much fun. We learned all about their wine and the history of this winery. A must on your next Napa trip.

By Treebrook |

Their tasting room is located on the top of a hill overlooking one of their vinyards. The wine is first class and the staff is wonderful. A place to remember if you go to Napa. This is owned by one of the daughters of Walt Disney.

By PFM112015 |

Absolutely beautiful views from this casually elegant tasting room. Our host, Frank LeDonne, was incredibly knowledgeable and provided a fun and educational experience. We visited due to the Disney connection and loved it! We joined the wine club because it offered so many terrific options. We did a bar tasting and will do the Terrace Tasting next time.

By perbuhl |

This is by far one of the best tastingrooms we have been to in Napa with Great staff, 'exotic' souroundings outside with great view overlooking the vinyards, and top quality wines. Try it..

By cotterpbsg |

We went there without a reservation and had a wonderful tasting with a great young staff person, who really knew her wines. Great place to visit if you are in Napa. Beautiful location also!!

By adthomas529 |

The views from Silverado are spectacular so it's definitely worth a trip just to take a walk out on the patio. We enjoyed our tour of the facility and getting to see the art collection. The wine itself wasn't bad and is at an excellent price point. I think the highlight is enjoying a tasting out on the patio. The staff checks in on you regularly but mostly just lets you relax & enjoy your time there. They definitely don't make you feel rushed! Worth a visit!!

By RDK12345 |

The location is beautiful and the wines very good. One's only issue would be the prices, if you are looking for moderately priced tasting and wines, this is not the place.

By Jose J |

Had a reservation for a tasting that included 4 different wines. Our host was very friendly, very knowledgeable and spent quite a bit of time with us as we sat and sipped. Not the best wines we had on this trip to Napa, but not bad either. Priced well though and worth a trip.

By twofromLA |

We had a bottle of Silverado with a meal a number of years ago and found it to be excellent. And since have come to realize that their wines are fairly expensive.

We were visiting Napa and decided that this was someplace we needed to see.

The tasting room is situated on a hill overlooking Napa Valley. Beautiful views with comfortable seating. Luckily by the time we arrived at this winery we had come to realize that the best way to enjoy wine tasting is to try one at a time and sit around, relax and enjoy each one.

And so that's exactly what we did. We probably spent about an hour here. The people at the tasting bar were very informative, friendly and nice.

So don't feel that you just have to sit at the counter and pound them back one by one. Take full advantage of the winery experience! We enjoyed Silverado and will definitely be back.

By Dina J |

DEFINITE must see - the gondola ride up to the winery is FUN and scenic!!! Upon arrival you are served your first wine. The self guided tour is easy. Will definitely return for the food/wine pairing tour.

By ArkieFoodie |

I thought that Silverado was appointment only, so I reserved for two tastings at $50 each, which included a tour (and a look at some nice artwork located throughout the building). It was a very leisurely tour and tasting with a nice young man who was our personal guide and server for almost two hours. We had a seated tasting at a table pre-set just for us, though there were people who walked in and did $15 tastings at the bar. The wines were excellent, and the views were awesome. There was no discount or waiver of tasting fee after our purchase of a $115 bottle of cab, but I would not have expected it for a reserved private tour and tasting.

By cbgvach |

location is beautiful and wine may be nice, though we wouldn't know since we didn't taste it following the SNOBBY and UNWELCOMING greeting we received. silverado vineyards may be well known, but if they want to keep clients coming they should really change their attitude. it's not worth the fuss when there are so many other beautiful wineries with equally good wine in Napa/Sonoma valleys

By 87vette |

Tour was wonderful, educational and just plain fun. Our tour Leader was very knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. The winery is beatiful, very interesting and plain cool. Their wine is excellent and a very good deal at the winery. I highly recommend this tour, try it at night when the tree lights are on.

By Falcarragh13 |

This one is worth it for the view alone. Our tasting host was awesome. However, this was, far and away, the "stuffiest" tasting we had over four days. This had nothing to do with the wines or the host. It was really the setting - the formality. The hushed tones. I would expect that someone going to say, The French Laundry, would rate this the highest and it would be a worthy rating. However, this was probably the only tasting where I felt I was out of my element.

By AleMoraH |

The price was fair for the tastings. The wine was really good and the attention and service was excellent. Would definitely come back!!!

By jocelynlee |

Sweeping views of the valley and good wines. Definitely one of the prettiest vineyard on the Silverado Trail. Reasonably-priced flights (for Napa). Would recommend to friends visiting Napa

By clockett16 |

Our visit to the Silverado Vineyards was our first stop in a week of wine tastings planned. We were a group of 6, and Balkus took great care of us. It seemed initially that Patricia (?) was to handle our tour, but Balkus took us instead. She was a great tour leader giving us the history of the vineyard, touring us through the barrel room and fermatation tanks while explaining the wine making process there. We were a group of 6 and we appreciated her patience with all of us. I will definitely definitely go back and recommend to friends.

By WarEagleInVA |

We visited here on a beautiful Saturday in April 2015. First of all, when you search for great tasting rooms in Napa, Silverado doesn't get mentioned. This is kind of a mystery because our group of 4 thought that this was the most picturesque view of the valley floor that we found. Though not the best staff around, they were attentive enough that we usually got the attention we needed and were even kind enough to pour some extra off-menu wines for us upon asking. I think that my favorite cab from this trip was the Mt. Georges Cab that we tasted here (and we tried a LOT of high end cabs), but overall all of the wines were good. We were definitely glad that we stopped here to spend some time.

By Centurygroup |

Not the usual Napa Valley tasting room hustle.
The staff welcomed us without a reservation & took their time explaining The Who what & why's of the winery without sounding like a HS history teacher

By miketp |

We visited this winery on the recommendation of a staff member at Domaine Chandon. The manger waited on us since the other servers were busy. He suggested we do the tasting on the patio which overlooked the valley. The wines were very good but what impressed me was the personal attention we were given. It was early in the day and not crowded but even still we were made to feel important to them. He explained each wine and did not rush through the tasting. It is owned by the Disney family but you would not know that from looking around the winery.

By The Tit: The Truth In Travel |

I really found Silverado peaceful and a great experience for wine tasting. The views are great. The staff was very knowledgeable about their wines and did an excellent job explaining the different grapes. I think their Cabs are excellent.

By rryan313131 |

Beautiful location, but the wine is pretty average. Cost is good, employees are great, but just didn't like the wine, itself.

By DebMRoswell_GA |

This was an unplanned stop for us- just kind of came upon it. The place is pretty and the views are nice. We did not like it as much as some other wineries. The server did not really acknowledge us other than pouring our tasting. Did not feel it was as personal as other places we had visited. We did enjoy our glass on the outside porch overlooking the vineyards.

By Jennifer E |

Ray is amazing! Gregarious, classy with no pretense! Beautiful venue by the 100+ oak tree over looking the vineyards! Great wines and heavenly atmosphere! Thanks Ray!

By kellylX6202SF |

The folks that work here are very rude. They have no interest in taking the time to make your Napa county visit inviting or fun. Not sure why they're so rude - they have an amazing job at an amazing location. Our group was 4 people - we were very polite, kind, didn't ask for anything special (discounts, extra tastings, etc.).

Lastly, their wine is not anything special. So they have no reason to be jerks. I'd avoid here at all costs.

By Phoenix DAWG |

Fantastic and knowledgeable staff work at this winery. The tasting room was just phenomenal with a beautiful Christmas tree of bottles.

The tasting room is well stocked with gifts and various wine "essentials".

A must stop when touring the Napa Valley.

By Donald C |

great attentive rapid service, wonderful atmosphere, good wine list, fantastic tour. beautiful view of napa valley

By Future Dog Farm Owner |

I was saving Silverado Vineyards for my last stop in Napa Valley as the website said the last flight would be poured at 4:30 PM. I arrived at 4:15 PM, and the woman asked how many in my party, and after I responded just one (as my husband cannot drink due to a medical condition), she informed me that they weren’t serving flights anymore despite the fact that the website said the last pour would be at 4:30 PM. Oh well. Very disappointing experience.

Took the Estate Tour and Tasting with my wife on 8/21. We really thought it was the best thing we did in Napa. The tour was a great combination of winery history, wine education and a great tasting. To start, I want to give special credit to our guide Rich Dabruzzi, who was over and beyond the best tour guide we had experienced all trip. Rich was personable, super knowledgeable in history of winery and the owners, Ron and Diane Miller, as well as the winemaking process and the specifics of each wine we tasted.

To start, our tour was personalized in a way that made us feel special (at the tasting portion at the end), the list of wines had our name on it, which was just a great touch. We were the only two people on the tour, and I really thought it great that we got to taste glasses of wine as we wound our way through the tour. Rich answered all of our questions about the winery and how they did things, and as an added bonus we even got to meet and chat with Associate wine maker Elena Franceschi, who was super gracious with her time.

The tour was then topped off with a final tasting out on our own reserved table out on the terrace, with breathtaking views, and topped off with the merlot and the estate cabernet, As an added bonus because it was our 25th Anniversary we were even able to taste the Silverado flagship wine the outstanding 2013 SOLO.

All in all it was a unique combination of great info, beautiful grounds, and great wines. As we noted a special thank you to our tour guide Rich who even gave us dining recs after the tour. It was well worth the money and the time.

After visiting six wineries earlier during our Napa vacation, we arrived at Silverado, convinced that we would just buy a bottle as a momento. Boy! Were we ever wrong! We shared one tasting flight and neither my hubby nor I wanted to leave. The wine, the view, the service, the other tasters, Magnificent! Bravo!!

By PaulineinFlorida |

We did the Silverado Experience which had some nice wines and the view overlooking was lovely. It was a fun afternoon sitting on the outside overlook but not our favorite wines.

By Steve P |

Silverado is a wonderful winery with about 400 acres of vines and fantastic views of Napa Valley. Several of my colleagues, in a team building event, participated in a brief tour of the facilities (including some one of a kind artwork). Silverado was established by Diane Disney Miller and her husband Ron W. Miller and you can see the love they put into their winery. The wine tasting was excellent as well, granted they are hawking their wares but there are some excellent values of top notch wines for the discriminating. Figure to spend 90 minutes at Silverado. While there isn't an admission fee there is a fee for the wine tastings (which is quite reasonable).

By Jack A |

I’ve been to most of the wineries on the Silverado Trail and can confidentially say that this one should be avoided at all costs. The wine is mediocre at best and the staff and service are terrible. Erica in particular was so rude to one of our guests that we were baffled and sincerely hope she is fired. Napa is a special place with so many incredible options and this one is absolutely worth skipping.

By queenbee366 |

This was the highlight of our trip. We took a special guided tour of the vineyard with a very special guide named Ray. As he drove us through the beautiful acres of grapevines, we stopped and learned the history of what you would expect from one of these guided tours. After the history lesson we sat down under a 350 year old oak tree with a beautiful canopy of shade over the spectacular view of the rolling hills of grape vines, We sat with Ray and tested 4 different wines with cheese and light snacks while we learned about each wine and its special qualities. The weather was picture perfect, but the adventures that Ray shared with us about his life which led him to Silverado Vineyards was what made this trip unique. The Disney family is very fortunate to have found such a special representative of their personal brand. We are Disney Vacation Club members so we may return on an Adventures by Disney Excursion or just bring a group back with us to share this great experience with our good friends.

By Geoffrey W |

My family called in for a tasting. For $40 you get to taste 4 wines! Oh but if you buy two bottles you get the tasting free! So we spent $100 on two bottles of wine and had not even the equivalent of 1 glass of wine between the four of us. Outrageous! The wine is ok but nothing special and certainly nothing that can justify that cost. I wonder if they would sell as much if they didn’t extort $40 per tasting- people have to buy the wine to feel like you got any value. While I understand vineyards can’t expect to give tastings for free-$40 to “taste” 4 wines? Oh come on! We tasted far better elsewhere.

By YoshiDus |

We had booked a tour of the vineyard followed by a private tasting of their Cabernets. Patricia did a great job showing us around and explaining everything. The view from the terrace is breathtaking, almost like Tuscany. Since we are great fans of the Silverado Cabernets it was a fantastic experience and one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommended for a private tour and tasting.

By YayaShare |

Our visit to Silverado Vineyards was truly amazing. Katie, who took care of us was just a delight. She had a lot of information and she ensured that we had a good time while tasting the wines. She also went out of her way to provide recommendations for other wineries that we should see and even texted to a friend at another winery to set up our visit. Oh, and the view is absolutely spectacular.

By BorDa123 |

Extremely accommodating and friendly, spent a lot of time going over their wines, all made on-site. Great Chardonnay! Unfortunately, all of their reds were not good, IMO, and heard the comment by many other people. Worth stopping by for their whites.

By Gary B |

This winery is another amazing spot. It sits on a hill top and has amazing views. Sit inside next to one of the large windows or on the patio. Enjoy some great wine, views, and relaxing. Hard to beat.

By Pablo L |

What can I say, aside from being a big winery situated in scenic Silverado trails, we decided to visit because it was/is owned by the daughter and now family of Walt Disney. There’s not much Disney in the winery for those of you who just want to see it. The thing that stood out for this winery was the staff of course but the amazing view the property gives since it’s situated on top of a hill. On a sunny day it’s gorgeous sipping multiple wines while looking down the Napa valley. For us the wine was ehh, but our tour guide/wine educator was amazing. Not only did she knew the history of the winery but she knew the very details of all the art pieces located around the hallways, and her quick fun fact of where the corks comes from was very cute. Thank you Patricia Fletcher for your very energetic, sweet, and knowledgeable guide that enhanced our visit.

By Mary Jean H |

We experienced a great staff with a lot more information and knowledge of growing grapes! We loved the wine and the atmosphere.

By Wildchild1804 |

My husband and I were engaged here in 2008, so we always have to visit. Patricia was our gracious host, very attentive and was gracious enough to escort us to the patio and taking our picture in the same spot we were engaged.

Beautiful views and nice wines.

By USUKCanada |

Go early
Tasting 30.00 they give you 3 tastings with good amount of wine each time
Plenty parking
Love this vineyard

By Lacey L |

Really informative and educational tour with Lauren. Beautiful location with amazing views. Wine was just ok, but would recommend this winery for the tour alone.

By DavidWooding |

Of the five vineyards we visited during our stay in the Napa Valley, this was undoubtedly our favourite. It's a far more comfortable experience than you get at some the more touristy sites, and allows you to savour the wines in your own time and relax in the pleasant surroundings. Our host gave us space to enjoy the wines on offer and there's a lovely terrace with peaceful views across the valley, where you can sit in the sunshine and sip until your heart is content. We took advantage of the offer and bought two bottles of wine so our tasting was on the house.

By ht4cae |

We visited several wineries, this one had great views from the patio and nice architecture for some really great photo opts. Perched on a hill, the views look north up the valley. So enjoy the wine and the view.

By Emi |

I came here for the view. And it didn't disappoint. I told the very friendly wine server I only wanted a small taste of one wine and she was very happy to oblige.

The winery looks to be fabulously maintained and everything was sparkling clean.

By Fludy888 |

I came to Silverado Vineyards for a wine tasting with my family. When we asked how the wine tasting worked, we were thoroughly snobbed by two different employees. We were treated more like a nuisance rather than valued customers. We left subsequently without trying any of the wines, and would definitely not recommend this place.

By Ed D |

This was a quick visit but we enjoyed the atmosphere in the tasting room. The wine is good and this place is relaxing.

By Tour303676 |

Went to Silverado as they produce one of my favorite wines. It was going to be a no reservation quick trip to see the facilities. Once we arrive Ray took care of us as he was expecting us. He explain a lot from the origins of the family owned winery and the production of the different wines we tried. We ended up having a tour and spending the afternoon at this amazing place.

Definitely we're planning to return anytime soon!

By Meg14Ireland |

We visited Silverado Vineyards in March. Three of us had a tasting and bought some bottles of wine. The tasting and setting were very pleasant. What was not so pleasant was that the vineyard changed us twice on our credit card. While I acknowledge that anyone can make a mistake their response to their error was very poor. It took us several emails and phone calls before they took any action. When they did make a refund we were left with a deficit of $44 due to charges and currency exchange. Though we made them aware of this deficit they chose not to resolve it. Overall it left a very bad taste. We will not be returning.

By calisoccer12 |

The view from the tasting room and patio was exceptional. None of the wines were very exciting to us. We had much more personal feeling tastings at most other places we visited. The pourers were friendly but didn't seem to know a lot about the wines. The tastings were overpriced for the quality of the wine.

By Michelle W |

Very laid-back atmosphere. We sat outside, enjoying the tastings and the amazing view. We also found a 2 for 1 tasting deal.

By Brittany W |

I don’t usually review places but I just feel there are better places to visit in Napa Valley after the service we received here. This was the first winery my friends and I visited in Napa and from the moment we stepped in the employee who did our tastings seemed to be very disinterested in serving us due to our “younger” age. In fact halfway through the tasting he promptly ignored us for a larger group to the point we had to seek another person and it was not busy that day as it was pouring rain. We weren’t given any information on the wine either which I noticed was different from the service he provided the larger group. To conclude although the vineyard itself is beautiful I feel experience trumps all else and this was by far the worst service experience we had in Napa valley. Luckily it did not set the tone for the stay and we had great service elsewhere. I’d recommend many other vineyards over this one.

By Sushar |

The Silverado Vineyards have one of the best views of all the wineries in Napa Valley. We visited on a weekday when it was not very crowded and were able to enjoy the wines and views in privacy. The wines and service were good but this place is a must-visit just for the sweeping views of the valley.

Great place to relax and experience the true Napa Valley. Great views of the valley while tasting a variety of varietals. Brett's knowledge of the history of Silverado Vineyards helped you understand the legacy and its contribution to premium wines.

Here is another winery I like to visit in Napa. The drive up the hill to this vineyard is just gorgeous follow by the beautiful terrace looking down other vineyards. My favorite wine here is Zinfandel. Though when I went back to purchase more to bring back on my second visit, it was all sold out. If anyone know where I can find this-do tell. You can purchase a bottle or take your tasting to the terrace which is a big plus. As I recall, if you purchase certain amount of wine, the tasting is complimentary. But don't quote me on that. A must for the view. Staff was pleasant and helpful.

Silverado is a GREAT stop on any Napa Valley wine tour. They have a full gamut of wines, from mid-to high end and also make all sorts of exciting varietals to boot (Cab Franc, Petit Syrahs, some of the less common ones). All are great, but for this review Ill focus on the experience.

There are many tour options, which are quite good, and the main tasting room has all sorts of charm. There are two outdoor terraces, one for members only, but both have fantastic views. We have been club members and visiting for 10+ years and this most recent (11/22) visit was a bit of a let down. Perhaps this has to do with the acquisition by Foley, the new owners? The online reservation service is a mess, and when we arrived, we were sat inside at a big table in the middle of the tasting room (not outside on a nice quiet patio with a view that we look forward to), sadly impersonal. The overall tasting was great, as the wines are still good, but the service was not the usual member-friendly "special" experience that we are used to.
We will still go back, and would still recommend it to new people in Napa and to Silverado, as the wine is accessible, reasonably priced, and overall the experience is decent- it's just not what we were expecting.

Our tour guide Lauren was brilliant from the beginning. She gave us a very interesting talk about the history and showed us around the site. The whole venue was immaculately clean. A wonderful venue for a special occasion. Fabulous views. The wines were superb. The Zinfandel and Sangiovese were our favourites. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We arrived at 10am and left 2.30pm! Very relaxing sitting on the terrace with amazing views.

By DCAviator |

Nice winery off the Silverado Trail. It's worth a visit for the views alone. The tasting itself was not the greatest (neither the wines nor the service was outstanding) but the views are beautiful. Next time I go, I would just get a glass of wine (instead of buying the tasting flight) and go sit outside and enjoy the views.

During my stay in Napa we made it a point to make our way to Silverado. We were not disappointed by to say the least! The wine was delicious, the views were magnificent, and the staff was absolutely pleasant. I would definitely recommend to make this one of your stops during your stay in Napa!

By W E |

Sitting out on the veranda, you have an excellent view to the north up the valley and to the east to the mountain range. This is an excellent place to have some quiet time.

By Amanda J |

Our tour guide was excellent and kept the wine flowing. It was not a very long tour, but a lot of information. You get free wine glasses, which was kinda neat.

By Michael S |

Absolutely gorgeous views of Napa from the patio. Wine is good not great. Slightly pricey but still good. Staff is helpful.

By Jenny J |

We visited Silverado at the beginning of a wine tasting trip with friends. We stopped in and shared a tasting and thoroughly enjoyed the wines we tasted. Our tasting guide was fun and helpful. After finishing our tasting in the tasting room, we were able to grab a table outside on the balcony. So we sat for a little while and just enjoyed the beautiful views.

By Martin J |

A great winery, we loved the fact that it had a view that you can enjoy with every sip you take. Like any other winery they don't wave the rasing fee it you buy Wine which is a shame.

By CourtClemmons |

My husband and I stopped at the Silverado Vineyard as we entered Napa. We did the Premier Wine tasting with 5 of their reserve wines. They have a beautiful patio that overlooks the vineyard and rolling hills. They also have seating inside in front of the windows. We took our wine outside to enjoy the view until we were ready for our next tasting. Very beautiful place with friendly service.

This past Saturday, we had the opportunity to be entertained by some friends at the Silverado Vineyard. The grounds are beautiful and pristine, the views are breathtaking of the Napa Valley and the food and wine are amazing.
Our lunch turned in to a 3 hour affair! The arancini bites are not to be missed and you can't go wrong with any entree you choose.
We were taken on an extensive wine tour where the guide was very knowledgeable. He told us the various steps that the grapes went through to become the different types of wine that we drink. We toured the bottling process and my favorite part is when you are taken in to the vast room that housed the wine casks. It is much cooler than the very hot temperatures of the Napa Valley and it smells so good. A must see for new and old visitors to the Napa Valley.

By Ricky C |

The view from the terrace is breathtaking. We did the wine tasting and sat in the terrace and enjoyed the view. The tasting consisted of 5 different wines and were equally good in quality.

By RBD1975 |

I visited Napa with 3 girlfriends and decided to try the Silverado winery. The views were nice. But I thought the wine tasting was VERY overpriced, and the wines weren't really good.

By NMS23 |

Loved Silverado. Solid wines from top to bottom, white to red. Amazing views and a comfortable setting inside or out for tastings. The tasting is not free but we purchased a bottle and they waived the fee for us. Good times.

By Dianne L |

We only had time for 2 wineries and since we were from Texas we chose this as one of the 2. This winery was twice the price of the first one we stopped at. The bar tenders were swapping out and pouring when they could. They gave us the run down of each wine but that was it and they moved on. It was sort of like...try it and buy it or not. Although we did like the wine we didn't visit here long.

By Deborah W |

The patio here is a wonderful spot to enjoy a wine tasting. The scenery is breathtaking. We did have to go inside to get our wines we were told. The wines were pretty good too! Seems like other people were served on the patio from their reviews so not sure abut that. When we visited wasn't an option. Very relaxing hour with some nice wines though

By Lauren S |

Great views from this beautiful winery! Make an appointment for a tasting and you won't be disappointed.

By Louise M |

We had a delightful time tasting wine at Silverado Winery. Philip, our server, was full of interesting facts and stories about the winery, the history and the area. The outdoor patio overlooked the Silverado trail and some of the vineyards. The view was breathtaking and the wines were outstanding. As Foley Wine Club members our tastings were free, and we had a nice, relaxing morning.

By kwagmeister |

My daughter and I visited as part of the inaugural Famiglia tour with the Napa Valley Wine Train. The winery is situated ideally on the esteemed Silverado Trail, and its location on top of a hill allows for stunning views.
We were greeted on the steps at the entrance by Scott, who warmly welcomed our group. As we started off with a glass of rose we learned about the story of the Disney family connection — this is a family owned winery with extensive Disney connections. If you are lucky enough to see some of the art you’ll see work done by artists who helped to create the art we all have come to know in such movies as Sleeping Beauty and Bambi to name just two.
Our tour took us on a lovely walk inside the barrel room and outside on the terrace, with tastings along the way.
It was nice to enjoy the views and the wines from the terrace. The tasting room is warm and inviting also and has a nice assortment of gifts.
We took home several bottles of wine since we couldn’t join the wine club (we live in a state that makes it a bit difficult). Highly, highly recommend - the wines are fantastic and the hosts clearly love where they work. That alone speaks volumes for the winery.

By ClearSea7 |

The good news is that the Saddleblock Tasting experience ($150 per couple) was incredible. The bad news was that my husband and I didn't love any of the Silverado wines we tried. The wine was good...but not as good as other vineyards we visited (obviously it's all a matter of personal taste). That being said, we had an amazing time on our private tour of the vineyards. The wine & cheese pairing under the large oak tree in the vineyard was one of the highlights of our vacation. Tom was an excellent guide and very informative. He did the tasting & cheese pairing alongside us, which was great, but would have also been nice to enjoy a few moments alone as a couple to take it all in. Overall, I would highly recommend this tour if you're looking for an exclusive, private experience away from touristy wineries.

By Jeremy M |

As part of the Disney family, this winery maintains that brand-precision with absolutely gorgeous grounds, tasting room, and experience. I would highly recommend booking a private tasting on their outdoor patio for a very personal experience with a great view of the valley below. You will not leave dissapointed!

By Yvette |

We enjoyed our visit at Silverado Vineyards very much. We were greeted warmly at the entrance. The tour guide who showed us around the barrel hall was very knowledgeable telling us about the vineyard and history of the wines being produced. This was followed by a lovely wine tasting session while seated outside on a cosy patio and the panoramic view was breathtaking. We thoroughly enjoyed tasting the different wines and the very tasty cheese plate and fresh grapes really finished it off. I recommend visiting Silverado Vineyards.

By Tricia C |

We had a great time at Silverado. The grounds are beautiful, the wine samples are generous, and the staff was very nice. We enjoyed our visit tremendously, and of course signed up for a wine club. The Solo wine is spectacular.

By Molly452 |

We did a tour and tasting here and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Napa Valley. The view from the tasting patio was spectacular! Our tour guide Jen was friendly, down to earth and enthusiastic. You could tell she loved working here. We loved the wines we tasted and would definitely recommend this winery.

By alifrombos |

The most amazing views of their Vineyard from the patio. Enjoyed the company of other wine lovers from all over the world. The Mexican food themed party offered exceptional tastings of a local favorite restaurant along with many Silverado wine tastings. perfect day to experience Napa!

By lduv143 |

Wow, impressive views! This is high on a hilltop, overlooking the countryside. We enjoyed our tasting on an outside patio with a little cheese plate. Lauren did the pouring for us, and she was a peach. Really informative and passionate about wine. Really liked Fantasia, a red blend. Interesting to find out that this place is owned by Walt disneys daughter and her husband.

By KarenM242 |

We were very disappointed in our tasting experience at Silverado. This winery has a beautiful view but we found the $40 tasting to be way overpriced. Every other winery we visited charged $10 to $15 per tasting and waived the fee with a purchase. Silverado requires a purchase of 4 bottles to waive this tasting fee. Also, the gentleman who provided our tasting had no interest in making this a great experience, looking over our heads and acting very disinterested in the whole process. We will NOT return here.

By Janet H |

rainy day, only one other couple in the tasting room with one person behind the counter; another came in behind the counter to attend to that couple, while the first individual took a business phone call. Neither employees acknowledged us at any time and after browsing through their gift selection for about 15 minutes, we left without tasting the wine, which I know is very good. They lost a sale that day as I went in to the winery for the purpose of purchasing serveral bottles.

By zfamilybcai |

We are (should say we were) wine club members. Made a reservation, they made us wait in the hot sun outside and were late seating. The wines were fair at best we were seated in the back of the patio. Our host spent no time with us. We know everyone is short staffed, but they obviously had no time for guests that were their members.

By longoftheoc |

We visited twice here in a week - it was voted in our car "best wines" of the trip. Their wines seem a step above in quality across the board. We were treated very professionally and warmly. We couldn't help noticing how the staff all seemed to be having fun and their passion for the wines. We joined the wine club because we genuinely love the wines. We came back 3 days later to taste again and it simply was as good as we remembered. Highlights were the Chardonnay, the merlot, and the cab savs. We loved the balcony patio and I would certainly consider hosting a tasting here in the future with friends, as it's a beautiful setting. We will return.

By Vivafood |

Enjoyed our tasting here. The vineyard is beautiful. Located on the top of a hill the tasting room has the most wonderful view and patio. The Malbec was excellent. I also really enjoyed the non-oaked Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay made in stainless steel. The wine tasting room staff were all super knowledgable and friendly. Would for sure suggest this to anyone in the Napa area. Will return if in the area again. Cheers and happy travels.

By LsyaB |

Stood there for 10 minutes and no one said anything to me. I was there to do wine tasting. It was not crowded. The grounds were pretty. Service terrible. Walked out and went to another winery.

By 63impala |

We decided to stop in even though we didnt have reservations. We couldnt do a full tasting but were given a choice of several wines that we could buy by the glass. Let me tell you that the service was amazing and this staff should teach classes on hospitality. We were treated like long lost friends.

By paul s |

This wine is one we have been drinking for quite a few years now and to visit the winery was great. The people working there were very good and happy to have a chat and laugh. The winery had great views and of course tasted great.

By Debbeyq |

Silverado is a must visit in Napa. Our group of eight did a private tour and tasting for a birthday celebration, well worth it! We loved seeing all parts of the winery and our guide, Eric, was amazing....fun, knowledgable and friendly. Sitting out enjoying the views while we tasted was the perfect way to end our day in Napa. We joined the club and look forward to our wines!

By Fernando Cardoze |

I once drank a bottle of Silverado Estates in a New York Steak house and loved it. So when I came back to Napa Valley, Silverado Vineyards was a likely stop. It's small and focused on Great Cabs which I love to collect. Lauren was great explaining every tasting alternative and every wine the offered. After the tasting, I bought a few cases to take back to my cellar of the Cabs. The place is amazing with breathtaking views of the stags leap Farms, it was our first stop and one we were very glad we made.

By Anish S |

We had this on our list since it does not require reservations. We showed up after lunch to see if they had availability. We got lucky that one of the wait staff was happy to put us in the 'private area' since we were a group of 8 people. We ended up doing wine tastings for most people and the wait staff was happy to pour as much as we like. they weren't stingy w/ the pour, nor were they strict about the number of glasses poured. They were happy as long as we were enjoying, which was a great feeling.

Just remember to tip them well since your experience is really dependent on how well they treat you.

By scott b |

We really clicked here, the staff were great. They were patient during the tastings and offered a lot of off the menu selections.
They seemed to make the tasting experience more personal than most others are able to in the area.
The views aren't bad either!

By jbgrogs352 |

very upscale, extremely neat and well run resort. We stayed in a 3 bedroom condo and it was well worth the price.i didnt play either coarse, but from the look of play,it would be a treat.Deep pockets required

By Jimbcar |

Great winery with an absolutely spectacular view. The people were very friendly and accomodating to our group during the visit. Would highly recommend them as a stop on your trip and their wine is top of the list as well.

By emmzah |

This was our first trip to a winery and we had booked ourselves onto a tour and tasting session. Tour guide was extremely friendly and knowledgeable - we were total rookies so this was at the perfect level for us. The views were beautiful and it was lovely to sit on the terrace drinking our final glass of wine. They were generous with the number of wines we got to taste and I thought $25 for the whole tour and tasting package was really good value. Whole thing probably lasted 90 minutes or so.

Also the wines were affordable - I bought a bottle costing around $28, rising to $40 or $80 for a couple of special bottles. (I had looked at a lot of tours where the wines were minimum $50 a bottle).

By Justmyopinion |

This is really quite beautiful.
The view is spectacular from the tasting room and the patio.
That's not the best part of this winery.
We were served by a really nice lady, I wished I remembered her name.
She has beautiful white teeth.
Easy now, I was with my girlfriend don't get any wrong impression.
I'm only saying that to identify her because what a great persoanlity.
She had as much fun as we did.
We told her we just came from Beringer where we tried their $30/glass reserve wine.
At that point she made it her mission to find us a great wine.
We joked with her and a gentleman behind the bar even though this was the end of their day.
This winery wins the most fun award for us.
You know what?
Their wines were as good as we had at Beringer!
So much about doing wine tasting is the experience.
This place gets it.
Fun....fun....fun.
All this in an elegant tasting room, great patio and yes the all important great wine.
They came outside with a huge bottle of wine for all the people on the patio to do a photo opp.
They were about to close and did all of this.
You know why.
Nothing is canned here.
The staff loves their job.
You get to see their real personalities.
If this place is not on your list....BIG MISTAKE!
This winery should be added onto your list right now!
Have as much fun as we did!

We were treated very well by our taster and the upper terrace tasting area outside provided a really great up valley view for pictures.

By esouth3 |

This was the best tasting! Our group was greeted by Ray who had the wine ready to go. It was our first stop of the day and he really set the bar high. He not only helped us understand the wine, but he told us cool facts about the place and the business. He made the visit awesome. The place is gorgeous with a big fire place and amazing windows. I could have stayed there all day. Can't wait to go back!

By Lisa B |

Silverado was the first winery my husband took me to 16 years ago. We try to visit Napa every other year - and Silverado is always our first stop. Those views from the terrace set the mood for the whole trip - and the wine is pretty spectacular too. Brett took very good care of us on our recent visit and I left with a bottle of the 2011 Mt. George Merlot. It has deep, rich fruit flavors - but a nice, balanced structure. And at $35 it is a steal. Silverado Vineyards is definitely worth a stop on your next trip up the Silverado Trail.

By KnightTrainTX |

We stopped in for a tasting and were not disappointed. The owner did our tasting and made us feel very comfortable as he explained the wines and gave us a history / science lesson on the Valley.

By jackson55555 |

Treated like family by Mike. Purchased a couple of bottles of their SOLO - outstanding cab - I think better than Insignia. A must wine for big cab lovers.
A wonderful view of the valley - one of the best in Napa. Highly recommended.

By ZoeyBz |

It took a while to get their attention but once we did, it got a lot better. We had a interesting tour of the vineyards which included learning about the different grapes, tasting grapes off the vine, learning about the harvesting process, storage methods, wine tasting from the barrel and a private wine tasting. We had a nice group of people in our tour, a very entertaining guide and the wines were good. The grounds were nice but I thought they would be more green and lush. (maybe it's the drought)

By Mark K |

Our party had a fine time visiting this winery. We were fortunate to go there on a Saturday, when they had their weekly tasting for their Pinot noirs. These were excellent, and my wife and I enjoyed drinking them while admiring the winery’s wonderful view of the valley. With so much going for it, it’s definitely not a winery destination to be missed!

By DaveyJ5150 |

Only had a few hours to show off beauty of Napa Valley to visiting friends so we went up on the hill that Silverado provides. Their view is top shelf and the customer service was beyond great. The wine here has improved quite a bit since our last visit 3 years ago.

By SeanWright76 |

Hands down the best winery we visited during our recent visit to Napa. A wide variety of Red wine styles from Pinot Noir, Sangiovese, Cab Franc and even Cab Sav and Merlot, that are not our favorites, but made in a very Bordeaux style that we loved. Tasting staff were friendly and informative and the terrace looking over the vinyards a perfect setting to enjoy your Napa experience.

By Gary K |

The location and the building were just amazing. I love the view and the atmosphere. They really knew their wines and we had an enjoyable time talking to the employees about the wine and the winery and location. It's great that they don't rush your tastings and you can even grab a table on the outside patio overlooking the Napa Valley countryside and take your time with each tasting - at least we could when we were there - which was a weekday, not a weekend. We did our tasting inside but then finished our last wine to taste out on the patio and enjoyed the gorgeous weather and view. I would highly recommend stopping here if you're in Napa. I said this was my second favorite stop only because I loved the castle at Castillo di Amoroso so much. We didn't have reservations but it was a weekday so you might want to check about a weekend visit - I would assume you probably need reservations on a weekend. it would seem to be a pretty popular spot.

By Liz K |

We stopped at Silverado by chance and we're not disappointed. Our server was very hospitable, did not rush our tasting and actually encouraged us to linger a bit longer on the patio. Everything a winery should be.

By AAfltgirl |

The view is simply spectacular. It was a great way to end our long weekend in Napa. Very peaceful as we enjoyed our tastings.

By Mimiwq62 |

Unfortunately, we arrived late in Napa. A wrong turn off another street lead down this beautiful HWY full of wineries and vineyards of wines we love back here at home. We had the most beautiful sunset and perfect September weather while making our way back to downtown Napa.Much prettier than HWY 29. Next time back we will be visiting this trail during the wineries visiting hours!!!

By Noraatc |

We arrived in the morning without reservations in hope just to take a glimpse of the views, but unexpectedly we experienced so much more. We were welcomed by Brianna W, the most wonderful, courteous and cheerful hostess, who started with a kind offer to taste their light and festive Silverado Sangiovese Rosato 2019, then she accompanied us to the terrace furnished with magnificent tasting tables made of one solid piece of wood. From the terrace we enjoyed stunning views of the rolling hills and emerald vineyards. Brianna told us about the owners of winery and a vast variety of their excellent wines. Too bad we have already booked a reservation at another winery and didn’t have time to stay for the tasting.

We will always cherish our memories of Silverado Vineyards thanks to Brianna W. Warm welcome means volumes.

By chihchen69 |

This is the first winery we visited in the area. We had a relaxing and fun time. The outdoor space is very pretty.

By Quidprosecutor |

This vineyard is in a great location. Carry your box lunch and get some wine there, sit for the views and enjoy your meal. Excellent, informative tour given by the winery staff.

By Peter W |

Even if you simply visited to enjoy the wonderful views on the outside deck, you would be impressed. However, the knowledge and insights we gained by booking the Library Tasting were pretty awesome. The sitting lasted a good 90 minutes and we were lead through a 4 wine tasting of some real special Cabs - lead by Ray V. who is one of the three Blenders at SIlverado. We also got to meet the Head Wine Maker (John), who stopped in to say hello. This was a wonderful experience and really set the tone for our visit to the Napa Valley!

By Lauren V |

This place is a must stop on your trip to Napa! it was absolutely amazing - the view is picturesque, the wine is delicious and the staff is more than helpful. The pours were extremely generous and the staff was very knowledgeable of the wines. We ended up becoming wine club members and I have to say since June we have ordered like 20 bottles and they all come next day air to Tampa! We spend 4 hours here (yes 4) because the experience was so wonderful! Can't wait to go back!

By texowl2 |

Granted we had a private tour (bit of an inside), but it was terrific. Very low key about being in the Disney family (one of his daughers' family owned it).

By smithcu |

Driving up the driveway, the building is impressive. The tasting room is comfortable, and we had very courteous and knowledgeable staff introducing the wines. Unlike many wineries, the samples were generous enough to actually take a few drinks and really get to know each wine. Afterwards, we sat at the large windows and looked out over rainbows above the beautiful valley. In the summer, the patio is available.

By fielding |

As others have noted, the views seem to dominate at Silverado, and for good reason. It's pretty stunning, maybe not the best I've seen in either Napa or Sonoma, but pretty cool nonetheless. For some reason I had overlooked this winery on previous trips, but was glad to stop in on what I assume was a quiet day. Only a dozen or so customers and we got great attention from a very friendly staff as we lolled on the patio admiring the views. The reds are quite handsome here, especially the cabs. The manager touted the Sangiovese and finally convinced me it was a solid lighter red. All good. I bought half a dozen to drink now.

By Margaret W |

This vineyard is in the most beautiful setting and the building itself is stunning. They specialise in red wines and although personally not being a red wine drinker I understand from others that the selection was very good. Don't forget the olive oil too. It is owned by Walt Disney's wife and is still family run. Our hostess was very pleasant and knowledgeable, she had worked through the whole process down to the bottling herself and so explained it well.

By BDG6610 |

Unbelievable setting with beautiful valley views. That is the first part. The tasting room was well staffed and very accommodating. They offer flights and are willing to switch out wines upon your request. That is what makes a great tasting experience. Our server was terrific. Not over the top gushing, but just the right amount of pitch. We ordered some large format bottles as a result.

By arih0328 |

The winery overlooks a gorgeous view of the valley, and is worth it for that view alone. Silverado is owned by a former Disney president and shows a little of that within the winery with posters of Ratatouille on the walls. The wine itself is pretty good, nothing particularly ground breaking. Their sauvignon blanc is particularly delicious, their cabs are a typical napa cab, and their chardonnay's are more of the french variety (less on the butter, more on the fruit). Overall it's absolutely what you'd expect from a Napa Valley winery, and it delivers beautifully. Oh! My favorite part is that you can take your tasting out onto the veranda and enjoy the view, and then go back as you progress. You're not confined to the bar, which is a beautiful pro in my book.

By Wendy S |

Wine was good, views even better. The patio is a lovely place to view Napa Valley while sipping your wine. The staff was very courteous and prompt. This is a good stop to make as part of your trip

By Britt D |

What a great way to wine down or in our case, to just be 'winers'. Although the wines stand out on their own merit mostly because of the excellent care and taste of their wine maker Jon E. A visit without their Solo wine would be criminal. This wine is a keeper. They have a wide variety of other great wines as well.

The tasting room is beautiful as well. The views the design and yes, the greatest, funniest, informative, pleasant, engaging, knowledgeable, enthusiastic friendliest, oh how I can go on, wine enthusiast, Balkis, ensured that I was getting the full Silverado experience. She did. The entire team worked well together and made us feel like a part of their family.

This was not just a stop to taste, but an experience. The beautiful grounds were perfect for the photo album.

Take time to visit

By Aaron |

Had a lovely time here enjoying some Silverado wine. We made a reservation in advance as we had a group of 8. We arrived early and they were able to accommodate us regardless. They had our family name on menus with the tasting options.

Al took great care of us and ran us through the wine list and options. It was amazing just how much his passion for wine is and he was the most knowledgeable Som we met on the day.

By Ryan M |

Can't beat the views from the patio of this place. The wines are very good as well. I would highly recommend this place for people new and old to visiting vineyards

By Rick S |

Learn about good Napa Valley wines here. They serve a broad varietal selection.

By WNCTrvlr |

Perched high on a knoll just off Silverado trail, this winery offers spectacular views from it's tasting room and patios. Service is impeccable, wines are delicious, if a bit pricey. One of my favorite experiences in Napa.

By Dolly V |

The vineyards and tasting rooms are probably of the nicest installations around. The view is simply as beautiful as can get. The wines are pretty solid although you cannot buy them per bottle to drink there. It was a nice quick tasting stop with beautiful surroundings.
Did i mention how incredibly nice the staff was?? Thank you Scott and Patty!!

By Travellinman26 |

You will have an excellent tasting and visit to Silverado Vineyards. The wine is excellent and the history even better. Ask for a tour of the manufacturing area and enjoy your tasting on the patio with a magnificent view of the valley floor. Lots of history here and links to the Disney family. Well worth an hour of your precious Napa time. Ask for Ray - he will take great care of you. Enjoy!

By Marshall J |

Silverado Vineyards repays intrepid visitors with an enviably classy facility with a Valley view patio that invites leisurely tasting. The location off the less-visited Silverado Trail evokes an earlier era in the Napa Valley before the four-lane Highway 29 and the tourist hordes arrived. The wines for tasting are just as remarkable as the view and a fine value too for the quality, which is no mean feat, while the tasting room's all-pro staff is a model of appealing friendliness and insider knowledge. What more could the visitor want?

By ashley t |

I love coming up to Silverado Vineyards, especially because we are wine club members here. The tasting room is never as packed as many of the more commercial and popular vineyards are, and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. The views of Napa Valley are fantastic from the outdoor patio.

By markfoodieperth |

Was the last stop in our day of touring through Napa so got the about 4pm. They had a private function they were preparing for so apologised that they could not offer any flights but we were welcome to try a couple of wines for free. After tasting 4 of their Cabernet Sauvignon - all of which were brilliant - the owner then said we could come back tomorrow for a free flight tasting. Awesome service! The views from the outside terrace back across the valley are stunning.

By Kelly d |

This was our third trip to Silverado. Beautiful tasting room and terraces. Great wines, our host, Patti, knowledgable, able
To juggle several groups at once without rushing or losing her place in conversation! The tasting room is beautifully decorated for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful views as you sample their fabulous cabs

By DreamaG |

The winery is beautiful and offers sweeping views of the vineyards below. In our experience, the wines were average. Our host was also rushed, we had a late in the day tasting so maybe it had just been a long day. We’ve had much better experiences at other vineyards nearby.

By Rick S |

We stopped into Silverado later in the day based on a recommendation from Eric at Mumm Winery. He said the sunset views are amazing. He was truly spot on but we also were treated to our best experience while we were in Napa & Sonoma. The service was phenomenal and the we really found multiple wines that we thought were some of the best we had on our trip. We enjoyed the Mt George Merlot and all of the Cabs that we tried so much that we joined the Club. When we did Balkis invited us back the next day and thought we should do the Saddleblock experience.

When we arrived to do that (more than 15 minutes late and thinking they would just pour us a tasting) Ray was ready to go on the experience. I still can't believe the attention to detail he gave us as we road through the vineyards, checked out the Disney/Silverado relics, picked Pomengrates, tasted grapes, and the culmination of sitting under a 300+ yr ld Oak tree to sample their wines again with some cheeses and meats. It was truly an experience that we will not forget.

We're super excited to come back and want others to enjoy what sets them apart from other wineries...their wine, service, and views!

The architecture of the building is awesome, they have an outside patio with fantastic views PLUS great wine and olive oil.
We were lucky enough to have Patricia for our guide, she added so much to our tasting with her winning ways, and made us feel special, what a great ambassador for the lovely winery. Great stop, no reservations needed!

We stopped here for a flight of wine and knew about the Disney connection. Beautiful setting on top of a hill with great views from their balcony. Balkis gave us great service and lots of good info on the wine. No pressure to buy bottles, just great customer service.
It was great that we could go there and I could enjoy wine and my husband could have water( not every winery lets you do that). I highly recommend a visit here!

We are regular visitors to Napa Valley and Silverado always makes our list. Many have talked about the view from the tasting room and terrace, but it's really the wine and the people that are the headline here. The winemaker, Jon, is really turning out some fantastic wines that should not be missed for anyone who wants a taste of the best that Stag's Leap district has to offer. Patricia in the tasting room is one of the best in Napa Valley....she is well versed on the history of Silverado, the production of the wines, and best of all, she is great at describing the wines in a way that everyone can relate to. I saw another reviewer comment on needs for improvement in customer service...I hope Silverado will have all of their employees in the tasting room train with Patricia. We have never had a bad experience here and we are always treated like family. And the wine! Wow...definitely taste the Mt. George Merlot....best value in Napa Valley. Can't wait to come back!!

The tour was very nice and the wine overall was good but go here for the view. It was a fantastic location to sit and relax for awhile.

Thank you, Kelsey for a wonderful experience at Silverado! Everyone was knowledgeable and passionate not only about the wines, but for their love of the owners (The Millers- Diane Disney and husband). Beautiful tasting areas and views. Relaxed experience.

The tasting room is on a nice hill with nice views and the building itself is impressive. Things were looking up until I went up to the counter, browsed the tasting menu while the server was helping another gentleman next to me. Unfortunately, after helping the other customer, he decided to ignore me and proceeded to chat with another server behind the bar. To think that this place has a connection to Disney makes me wonder where they got their customer service training. I felt invisible, insulted, and ignored. Needless to say, my wife and I left and spent our money on other wineries where we got MUCH better service. Oh and for those that think the view here is breathtaking, you should visit Artesa.

If you are not going to make a reservation for a table outside, make a reservation for the first tasting, you can go outside and enjoy the view while tasting before it gets busy. Though I will say the tables and the view do make the table tasting worth it. The service is fantastic and the wines are delicious. I recommend!

My wife and I spent a few days in Napa and found ourselves at Silverado after visiting many other vineyards. Silverado proved to be our favorite! The patio view from up on the hill is simply spectacular and the staff could not have been nicer, more engaging and friendly. What a beautiful place to spend the afternoon! We didn't want to leave. My wife and I agreed that when we think of Napa, Silverado summed up what was in our mind. The wines are top notch and delicious and they were super generous with allowing us a number of tastes beyond the planned flight. Excellent experience all around.

Disney family never pretentious, excellent wines, knowledgeable staff, great views. Highly recommended!!

We had a lovely afternoon. Our tasting room rep Lauren was amazing - young, energetic, extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic. The wines were all excellent and Lauren threw in a couple extra pours of wines not in the flight, just because she thought we'd like them. Gorgeous location with spectacular views. Give it a try - you will not be disappointed!

My girlfriend and I visited with another couple a few weeks ago during a trip to San Francisco. This was our first stop, and was the best by far. The staff was incredibly personable and helpful, and the private tasting we had was phenomenal! One of the best views in Stag's Leap and all of Napa. Great place to make your first stop!

Visited with my daughter (22). This vineyard was not on my original list but after recommendations from a number of locals we added it. Hands down the patio had best view of the valley that we saw. We thought better view than Auberge del Soleil. The SOLO wine was delicious. It's a beautiful spot with a bar-like tasting. We dropped in late in day.

I would recommend going here if you are taking a trip to Napa Valley. The wine was good and our "host" Balkis was wonderful. She really took her time to find the right wines for us. I was a tough one, but she would not give up. She told me I needed to drink more wine to find my niche. (LOL)

One of my favorite Napa vineyards, a must visit. all of the wines are great, specially the SOLO. They have events every few months, you can spend few hours on the terrace and enjoy your wine & the views of the Napa. Ver accommodating & knowledgeable staff. Must Visit in Napa!
