Amazing place to spend my birthday

By JessieB112277 |

Love all the Six Flags. Was visiting CA and decided to spend the day on rides with my partner. Gorgeous CA day and low crowds made for a fun day with lots of rides. My favorite thing to do.

Awesome Day

By SalonMom |

Such an Awesome Day!
I’ve been to a lot of theme parks, but Six Flags Magic Mountain really stood out. I have never experienced staff as friendly and helpful as the ones here—seriously, everyone we came across was kind, upbeat, and just super welcoming. It made the whole day feel extra fun.
The park was also really clean, which was such a nice surprise. You could tell they take care of the place. And the wait times? So much better than I expected! We were able to get on a bunch of rides without spending forever in line.
Overall, it was just an awesome experience. Great rides, great people, great vibe. I’ll definitely be back!

Long lines end of year, only 4 rides full day.

By wdl |

Went to magic mountain a couple of times long time ago; this time decided to go during the christmas new year break to accompany my kids/teens. I have always had fun on the rides and always been able to try most of rides in past.

It seems that christmas and new year break is not the best time to go to magic mountain because the lines can be a bit too much. This time, we arrived at about 10:30 am and left by 7pm. We were able to ride 4 total rides during the day. All 4 four rides were great, but the lines were over 1 hour for each one. At the cost of about $60 per person, it seems that each ride cost $15 dollars per person, plus parking.

What probably contributed to the delays is that, in addition to the holiday crowds, there was some raining in the previous days and, it seems a lot of the rides were operating with fewer cars, a couple of day with only one car.

I would say, it may not be worth the money to go at the end of the year. Or if you go, maybe it is a good idea to get the skip the line pass. It's double the price, but you will probably do more than double the number of rides we did.

Otherwise, it is probably one of the best roller coaster parks out there. Go in the summer, buy the skip the line.

Amazing Thriller Rides

By MaryK8512 |

Its the perfect theme park if you love thrill rides. There were so many roller coaster rides, so u have to pick the ones you want to go on and target them first :) We downloaded the six flags app which was really helpful as it gives you directions to the next ride you want to go to and it also gives you the waiting time for the rides.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall we had a great time! It was one of the best theme parks I have been to :D

Spring break with my son! 🎢

By WWTraveler27 |

The rides in the park exceeded my expectations. Buying the Flash Pass made for a great day we were able to ride every big attraction in one day. It was almost too much, and we were a little motion sick by the end of the day. You can still have a great day without the Flash Pass. The park is very expensive but if you plan well you can save a little money. My son made the comment “this was the best day of his life”. Lol. The park was for the most part clean and the staff was helpful. The food however was below average so I would suggest trying to eat before you come and then after you leave. Would strongly recommend visiting.

Best rollercoaster rides!!!

By vitali99992023 |

Best rollercoaster rides I ever been on, big park loads of options and levels of how intense and fun the rides are. Can't describe it in words, must visit if you like roller coaster rides.

Don't bother

By Rachel K |

This park keeps doing super stupid things. Meal passes include lunch, a snack, and dinner yet they now dictate you must have each one 90 mins apart. Why do you need to manage my food intake? I just wanted ice cream after my lunch which was covered under my food pass but no. The bathrooms are always gross. There is no shelter over the long walk from the parking lot to the entrance (they finally put in a carport over parking but it was self-served for solar. It's 115 degrees here people!). There were THREE employees in Ace's restaurant and the rest were automated machines that were impossible with a season pass. The park opens at 1030a but no restaurants until 12p. The rides are old and meh, the people who work there don't care. The 3D Justice League ride is now a crappy 2D ride with no change to the visuals from 3D (the video freezes when the car spins around!), and they keep taking away more and more and more from membership and season pass holders. It is a shambles of a park. Go to Disneyland!

Only a shadow of the past

By BTS1972 |

Having been here in the early 90s, I remebered the theme park as one of the best, I ever visited. But times have changed. Coming back after more than 30 yeards, I was shocked, how the park deteriorated. It is definetly times for a major refurnishment, modernization and staff training. Actually, I definetly can not recommend going here.

By neville_lawrence |

If you are a thrill lover it’s advisable to complete all thrill rides in park first.

Park is distributed in a such large area that if you just have a day you won’t able cover entire park.

Please open more rides !!

By Baggies_traveller |

Our first visit to the park, walked straight to West Side Racers CLOSED !!! Apocalypse Closed !!! Batman Closed !!! Rapids Closed !!! Scream Closed !!
We payed over £240 to visit the park and booked the tickets in advance and was Hugely disappointed all these rides were closed. I can understand one or times rides being closed but so many that’s just ripping us off !! Would i book tickets for a show and being told that the start and end of the show was closed and we can only watch the middle part of the show.
No work was being taken place and there was no one to speak to about this,
It’s a shame it could have been a magical day that turned into disappointment

Several attractions closed. Most of the ones working with one car like the X2. 3.5 hours waiting for a ride.

By Ralph |

Seems like evertyhing is closed inside. Several attractions closed. Most of the ones working with one car like the X2. 3.5 hours waiting for a ride.
Food was okay. Turkey lega were not grilled. Looks like they were fried. 1.5 hrs in line to order. Online order was not working.
We were able to go on 6 rides the whole day fron 10 am till 9 pm. Definitely I dont recommend this park.

Need better organization

By Maria Helena k |

The park is incredible. For those who like extreme attractions, you can't miss out when you go to California.
However, I gave this rating due to the administration they have.
They don't release all the rides, they do it on a rotating basis, that is, the park can be "empty", in low season or high season, and only a few roller coasters will be in operation. Then they close and open others. In short, expect huge queues at attractions.
The park is large and it would perhaps be acceptable in low season if the mountains in one region were open, but no, they are open far from each other and you waste more time moving around than anything else.
A friend went with her family in July (high season) and the same thing happened.
They need to review the organization.

I bought a diamond membership pass in 2021, MM signed me up again in 2022 without my approval then reported the charge to the credit report. This is crap!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't buy a membership...They will keep charging you without notice.

Sunday Funday

By pau_pau_salazar |

So much fun for all ages lots of rides to choose from and food they hace nice friendly staff. Lots of holiday lights for Holiday in the Park which is awesome to see during the xmas holiday

Roller coasters are the Main Attraction.

By 10000 Bird Tours |

The park was not unusually busy but it felt like parking was a long ways from the entrance. The park was also under construction in several areas. The rides were as good as I remember when we used to go as kids. Wanted to bring my girlfriend back to ride the good rides. This is for true roller coaster fans. Not good for young kids. I would go back in that time of the year as there is a substantial amount of walking so temps were good.

Slowest Moving Lines Ever

By Rebecca P |

I brought my daughter from Oregon for her 10th birthday. She loves big roller coasters and was so excited. The rides we did get to ride were very fun. However, the ride operators were so extremely slow at loading and unloading the rides, we literally only rode a handful of rides all day. We flew all the way from Oregon, arrived before opening, stayed until closing, and only rode a handful of rides. That seems ridiculous in my opinion.

I for sure appreciate safety precautions, but I’m not exaggerating when I say it took at least 7-10 minutes for the ride operators to Los and unload the ride, and running only one car at a time, that holds maybe 12-18 people, you can see why the lines take an absurd amount of time. If the employees could move a little faster and stop chatting and goofing messing around, our experience would have been drastically better.

The checker at the restaurant also had a giant line. We probably waited 30 minutes, food in hand, just to pay for our food. Bonkers.

All that said, many of the rides were super fun once we got on them.

Unfortunately the worst themepark i have ever visited

By Sofia V |

Unfortunately six flags is the worst themepark i have ever visited… We waited way to long for food and drinks that were very low in quality. minimum 30 minutes wait every time we were going to fill up our drinks. Furthermore, many of the attractions and food halls were closed, with no explanation, or otherwise they were delayed or only partly open..
Compared to Universal studios, this themepark was sad, and the only exiting aspects happening in the park was the rollercoaster..
The only positive things i can say about the park is that we did not wait long for toilet visits and to get in the park….
Would definetly recommend Legoland or Universal Studios instead.

Actually great, but many things closed or reduced

By Jimmy_T_1974 |

The "rides" are really great! When they work. When we visited, some of the rides were closed and many others were running at greatly reduced capacity. This leads to very long waiting times. The official figures are easily 3 or 4.

Some of the refreshment stands were also closed. All in all, there was mostly waiting everywhere...

Oh yes: Of course, the full price is still charged everywhere!

their customer service is terrible no one seems to care that's what I'm getting out of my whole experience there.

By Culture67057518015 |

My family and i went to six flags for spring break fist time there. My autistic son dropped his phone on the wonder women ride we informed one of the workers and explained what happened . They guy walked into the ride saw the phone took a picture and stated he saw it but he could not get it at the time till the park closed. He advised he would send the picture and never did because he was going to lunch, Apparently lunch is more important that helping the customer. I filed a report and they also suggested we go back to the ride to advise them about the phone and they assured us we would have it by the end of the night because they do daily sweeps and nothing. I even went back the next morning before they opened the park to the public spoke to a supervisor and all they said was i had to wait on an email. I did advise my child uses his devise to calm himself down and gives him comfort. they said they had policies to follow which i completely understand i feel like I'm getting the run around today is a week and the phone is still in the same location that tells me they don't walk like they stated at the end of the night . I have filed complaints and have left a message for the corporate office and nothing, They stated the claim will close in 30 days if not found which doesn't make sense to me when I've sent them the location multiple times . How hard was it or is it to of just grabbed the phone instead of taking a picture of it to tell me yes we see it but yet not grab it and hand it to us. I'm so disappointed on how they are not even trying to assist with this matter . I will never go back due to bad customer service and too top it off they don't even sell food for people that aren't able to eat fried foods . I didn't see stands with fruit nor fruit bars etc.

Bad

By Non J |

Bad rules terrible employees I don’t recommend at all, the FOVID test line is trash and they make you wait in a line with a bunch of other people so there is no point. Your not allowed to use the bathrooms with out a FOVID TEST SO YOU HAVE TO WAIT horrible experience
🤬🤬🤬

Thrill rides at Magic Mountain

By Laura M |

Magic Mountain has the best roller coaster thrill rides in California!! We bought season passes and have been twice. Had a blast both times. Would recommend going when schhols are in session. Long wait times when school was on holiday. But the most we waited when school was out 20 minutes!!

Flash passes not worth it

By Lisa S |

This place was heavily understaffed when we went. Paid for Flash passes for the day - yet still waited over an hour to get on X2 and other rides were also slow as poorly staffed / only one train running. The park is not set up for hot weather- little place to cool down. Few places with air con - only really shops, that you are not encouraged to stay in. Left early. Wouldn’t recommend.

Total rip off

By CHARLES L |

Complete waste of money. Horrific wait times. 12 rides closed, multiple rides running only 1 train because ticket sales are down. Spent 9.5 hours in sweltering heat (no indoor turnstiles even had a fan running) to get on 5 rides. If they’re going to charge full price, they need to provide a full park. Buyer beware. This company treats their guests worse than cattle.

Lovee itt

By Arri T |

Dude this theme park is just GOLD. all the workers and rides are amazing people who say others are tripping so hard. i got season pass and fast pass and i bought it 4 times for family and it was so worth it, i go every week and i never get tired of it. the only down fall was that someone stole my season pass cup and yall were not able to replace it, Yicks, but yeah i like this park 10/10

I have a place I feel safe and welcome and I have a blast too !

By patti b |

In Southern California I absolutely love going to Six Flags Magic Mountain. The employees are impeccable. The park is clean even the restrooms. The food is excellent and the rides are great, so what’s not to love sometimes it gets a little hot in the summer so I would recommend going in the evening or just splash a lot of water on yourself during the day, the water park is right next door so that’s always an option

What a Disappointing theme park

By Wayne |

I am so disappointed we visited. Instead of doing a Disney park, we decided to do Six Flags. We had no other free days in our schedule, so this was it.

Other reviews said it was terrible - they were right.
We had one family member in a wheelchair.

My summary is:
1- we bought flash passes, when we arrived, it took 3 different staff enquires before I was told how to activate them.

2- At least half of the elevators at rides did not work, so our disabled guest missed out. Disgraceful, embarrassing and very poor.

3- Toilets were filthy. A disgrace.

4- Some staff were very rude and uninterested to us, shrugging shoulders when we asked for help.

5- the only helpful staff were at West Coast Racers - staff ran up and down and got this elevator to work for us. These few staff were so good (they should go work at Disney as their attitudes and helpfulness aligns with Disney).

The flash passes were a rip off. We were unable to ride many due to broken elevators, unable to book many due to massive waits.

I feel like we should get a refund. We left the park after about 5 hours.

So disappointed.

We decided on the VIP experience to maximize a day of fun, and it was well worth it!

By Christina F |

We planned a special trip on New Years Eve 2021. Our tour guide Lilly was fabulous! She ensured we all had an excellent time. We never got lost or turned around (which was definitely happening without a guide!). When the rides got a little to extreme for one of our teenagers, she took us to some less extreme rides for a little cool down period. The food Lilly directed us to did not fail to please. She also directed us to the best shops for teenagers. I’d recommend the VIP tour to anyone who just wants to enjoy the day stress free of ‘what now?”, and if you do ask for Lilly - she’s going to make your trip as fabulous as ours! Thank you Lilly - from the whole Key family (Christina, Matt, Aeyden & Conner)

Excellent family fun day

By chocolatesnoop818@gmail.com |

I think what made the experience excellent was because for one it was a little crowd there was no waiting on line to get on the rides people were complying with the rules face masks six feet and the funnel cake delicious

Some good rides, tired feeling park, and sold out of date Picture Pass

By Nick M |

There are some good three rides here, probably more than you can complete in a day. When we visited the queue lengths weren't too bad, and we got through then fairly quickly. (End Jan 20)
However, the Picture Pass didn't work. We bought it at the same time as the park tickets, it was their add-on, but when we visited it had expired. (Unused.)
The initial response from the Picture Pass desk, and Guest Relations, was it's expired and the don't provide refunds. They initially didn't understand they had sold me something which couldn't be used!!!
They made me purchase another one, and then refunded that back quite a few days later.
Six Flags, you need to pick your game up with selling offers which expire, and then you're staff having a standard line of 'We don't do refunds.'.

Coaster capital

By Jone G |

They don’t call it the roller coaster capital of the world for nothing. All roller coasters at this park are at least decent, not a single one is “bad.” But there are a lot of great ones like X2. I can tell a lot of work went into this park, keep up the great work magic mountain.

Rip off

By Graham C |

We are visitors from the UK - Six Flags - doesn't permit you to take in your own food and boy did we find out why! What a rip off for 3rd rate catering way overpriced - 1 x muffin $6 - small pack of Twix bites $5.45 come on - makes London seem positively reasonable and that's a tourist rip off! No hot water to wash hands in any of the rest rooms and some were dirty and unkempt - park generally in need of big face lift. Please please please Disney or Universal buy this park and impose your high standards thereon, it needs you

BOYCOTT MAGIC MOUNTAIN

By maxeen p |

I've been to Magic Mountain every year since 2015 with my family for our yearly vacation. My last visit was terrible and we will never visit them again!
The park is going downhill as far as aesthetics and customer service.

The once clean looking park has turned into a trash dump! There is trash and debris everywhere, the trash cans are always overfull with no sight of cleaning people anywhere.

Their customer service is severely suffering and the staff is not very friendly.
It is an uneasy feeling being strapped into a thrill ride by a rude employee.

Do yourself a favor and visit one of the other parks and leave Magic Mountain behind.

When amazing Roa lee coasters meets very poor management

By Culture44083861713 |

Yes, the roller coasters are amazing, no doubt the capital thrill of the world BUT sadly is managed poorly and turn the experience into a poor, low level experience.

Starts from the lack of organization on the rides, there’s no staff organizing the lines or asking how many in the party and what does this causes?? Lots of empty sits in every car, I’d like to say at least 30%. Follows by lack of SOP and time management, rides goes out of the station very slow because al the riders needs to pu their loose stuff on the opposite side from the boarding side, and no staff is managing that as a result long lines when it’s not even crowded

Followed by lack of staff on the food stations, took more than 30 minutes to do a single refill.

The APP is not updated, we went to a ride the app said 30 minutes wait and actually was 180, we thought that was the only one and through talk the rides and the day we saw exactly the same issue

The place became so low cost that in our way out we decided to stop on the “biggest” merch store and the a/c was not working… can you believe it??

So yes, the rides are crazy and you cannot find that amount of long, high adrenaline rides anywhere but is so poor managed that you’ll go out with a bad taste

The kids (13, 13) said the experience was 50/50, this place could have been 100/0

So sad it became like this

My recommendation? Choose a day you’re ready to see tons of bad management and stupidity and try to enjoy the ride

An abandoned park

By StephRase |

How far the reference park for roller coasters is!
10 years after our last visit to the park, we (8 people) wanted to try the experience again because it was so wonderful... what a disappointment!
Dirty and abandoned park. Several attractions closed. The others only operated with one train during the peak tourist season. Results: between 1h30 and 2h of waiting at each attraction. Even the waiting time at restaurants was long: 45 minutes for each refill! The staff was amorphous. No setting the mood. Just press a button.
As for the application which is supposed to give waiting times for attractions: completely buggy.
In short, move on and prefer Universal or Knott's Berry Farm instead.

Amazing Rides - Limited and bad food options

By Michael G |

We had a fun day at six flags, the number of great coasters here is amazing.
We enjoyed all of them !!

The only downside visiting on a quiet Sunday was the simple lack of food options that were actually open.
And when we did fine one open we had to stand in line for over 30 minutes to get a lacklustre cold burger and fries.
It really took the shine of a great day !

The park itself was ok certainly the restrooms could use updating as they are old cold and very tired.

So come for the coasters and ignore the rest !!

Poorly run and flash pass a joke.

By Ian S |

Don’t bother with flash pass, paid a fortune and not worth it. Employees not always present at rides and not well signposted. Complained and got money back.

Not enough employees directing guests into rides resulting in empty seats on busy rides which is very annoying and unnecessary.

Park gone downhill since my last visit a few years ago. Shame.

Long lines and poor service

By Chris L |

We went on a Saturday and the place was completely packed. We arrived at 10:30 am and it took up 35 min just to get inside the park. The mass of people jammed at the entrance was crazy. Once inside the park we headed for the rides. If you do not purchase a flash pass you can forget about riding half the rides. The lines are extremely long and very slow turn over. This worst is the food and the drinks you will wait at least 45 min to one hour just to get drinks extremely overpriced poor quality food totally crazy on a 100 degree day. Wait until they have proper staffing to make the trip.

NICE JOB SIX FLAGS

By Dulce C |

Everyone is short staff but Sixflags still managed to make my visit very thrilling. Fright Fest only on Weekends. Enjoyed every moment, might I suggest adding water mist in the line waiting and even through out the park. Enjoyed myself very much. Was there from 11am-closing, WAS very tired! but it was a great day at Sixflags.

Rides great- everything else nasty.

By Stephanie N |

This place is for thrill rides and in that is delivered. My teens and husband had the time of their lives on the rides. My complaint is the park itself. First, the staff is HORRIBLE. Everyone was rude and seemed clueless. Listen - food didn't open until 12 and they close at 6. How miserable can you be at 12:15? Also, they have large menu screens everywhere that say the all day soda cup is $20.99 in HUGE font. But it's 22.99. And with tax- $25. That's not what it says on the Giant Screens everywhere and I shouldn't have to pay it. I was blown off by every staff member I told. I think the screens are from 2022 but it's MARCH.
Some of the bathrooms were nice and some made me sick to my stomach to even enter. The whole park was gross.
This park seemed geared toward people who love in the area and not tourists as they have a pay for a day get a year option. But, in the end they are the only place with this caliber of thrill rides- so people will continue to go.

Pay to stand in line for hours

By Tim D |

This place is an absolute disaster.

The signage when you're pulling into the park to park your vehicle is nonexistent, so it's incredibly easy to get into the wrong lane.

Many rides are down, increasing wait times for other rides. In 11 hours, we were able to ride 5 coasters, spending the rest of the time in lines.

The food service is slow, the food is bad, and it's not worth the price. Definitely bring a cooler unless you want to pay $16 for an undercooked burger and soggy fries.

There is clearly no thought put into anything except spending as little money as possible while jacking up prices and basically robbing customers.

To cap it all off, the park is filthy.

Not worth the drive, the price, or the time. Avoid.

Amazing!

By Elicia R |

What an awesome park! I am a huge thrill ride fan and this did not dissapoint. We went on a Monday and there were no queues for any of the rides. The most i waited was 15 minutes for wonder woman. I loved the rides. The operator on full throttle was hilarious and genuinely a brilliant day. Cannot wait to go back on my next visit to LA.

Harassed by security

By lisa g |

Visited the park on 2/8/22 to celebrate my soon to be 12 year old's birthday. HARASSED by security. My family and I just had a terrible experience due to the security staff this particular day. With the amount of money and time you spend when going to a theme park, you expect to be treated decent. Long story short, my 19 year old son had our backpack containing a vape pen and even after being confiscated by security, was not allowed in the park. I get rules are rules, but the main security guard was beyond rude, and literally laughing in my face when I was clearly upset . Security proceeded to have the rest of us followed all day as if we were some family of criminals. We were a family of 2 parents, 2 kids. and a baby! When we left the park they literally announced it on the walkie talkie letting the other security know (rolling my eyes). The kicker... the vape was my husband's so it was totally legal, in my backpack I asked my son to simply hold for me not realizing it was in there, as my hands were full with the baby. Security did not care when we tried to explain. Again, I understand rules are rules, but following us around all day was HARASSMENT and it was clear by the guards laughing that he got pleasure out of ruining our day. I regret purchasing season passes and this theme park will never earn my business again. Please have security focus on the gang violence that continues to be a problem at your park and not waste resources following a decent family around all day. Ridiculous.

Not worth the visit

By Gretz |

We had a horrible day at Magic Mountain. First few hours more then half the rides were closed or not in operation. The ones that were working only had limited coasters available.

4 hrs in we only managed to get on one ride. My wife complained, we were ready to leave the park. We were given an excuse and a free front of line pass for one ride. Well they must have given out a tonne of them as the pass still took over 30 min to get on.

We went on 4 rides the entire day, three times we waited in line for over an hour for the ride to shut down before we got on. Average wait times were over 90 minutes due to incompetence and cost cutting.

The staff don’t care and blamed COVID. But they still managed to open up the souvenir shops.

Cleanliness is not a priority, the park was so dirty with litter. Show some pride.

We were so looking forward to our day but extremely disappointed.

Based on other reviews they will respond they are sorry but will not ask us to contact them to discuss the matter for a resolution. Or will they?

"The worst customer service experience of a lifetime awaits you.. at Velencia's SFMM theme park!" I'm not exaggerating..

By James C |

I'm writing this more of a warning, "a cautionary tale", than anything else. We had a horrible experience, the Valencia SFMM park, due to the customer service dept. at the Flash Pass membership office.

Allow me to explain, I went with my friend who is a Flash Pass member, she explained that she paid for this membership which would get her in free and me a half price discount on my ticket. It was an extremely HOT day in mid Aug. of 2022, and upon arrival we waited in a long line in order to get my discounted ticket, etc. It turned out that my friend's account was past due, they told us, but not to worry, for if she paid a month's dues of $49, that would be enough to bring her up to date and get her in and also my 1/2 price discount. Unfortunately I was the only one who brought a credit card, so they went ahead and set up the payment in their computer for me to enter my information to verify and we'd be all set. Sounds not so bad, so far, right?....

Well, just as I'm about to verify my payment on their computer, I notice that the amount I was just about to say OK to, wasn't the $108 as the agent there, Bella, had told us it was going to be, but was $193, I asked her about it and she told me that she wasn't sure and she would have to refigure it, but then went ahead and sent the order (Hit submit very quickly) before going to refigure it.. I told her that she just submitted the order, I saw it.. and pointed out the last four digits of the credit card on the paid amount page as being mine.. and she reassured me that no, it had not been submitted. I was skeptical, to say the least... but she went ahead and supposedly refigured the order and I saw the price of my ticket ($59) along with the one month payment for my friends account, and cautiously approved the order. We'd already spent a good hour and a half on this, and we were just happy to get it past us. After we left the office and are walking into the park, I glanced at the receipt I'd just been given. The only receipt given to us both was for my ticket, and not for her one month payment, which I'd just put on my credit card. I asked her if they had given her a receipt for that, she said no.

So we sat down, and I was curious, so I checked my credit card transaction at my bank's website. I was horrified that I had been charged the $193 dollars on my account and not the $108 after all! (It turned out that her outstanding balance on her account was $134 for three delinquent months of non-payment) The original invoice that I suspected she had submitted, actually WAS, and it's not like the customer service agent didn't realize it, because that was the only charge to my credit card, if it had been an actual error, it would have been the $193 PLUS the $108, I had just paid for her entire balance due without my knowledge nor consent. So we went back to the office, stood for another hour in the blazing heat, and finally got back to tell them what had happened.

They not only denied it, they told me there was nothing , absolutely nothing they could do about it. I was livid. This was obvious fraud, and I was placed in the position of butt of the fraud! This was not my account, why would they charge the full amount to my account? I at that point decxided, it wasn't worth fighting over, and told them, "Ok, but all I want is a receipt for at least the $49 one month payment to her account for MY records. I can see maybe it was an error on your part that I got charged the full $134 (Even though I knew it was nothing of the sort), and they said they would send the receipt to my email address, which I gave them. They didn't. I never got the receipt.. not to this day have I.

Oh, but it doesn't end there.... see, after this ruined our entire "park experience" that day, I got back home and the following day got to wondering... if they had managed to use my credit card to misquote what I was paying, .. how is that even possible? I soon found out how, see, they had linked MY credit card to her membership account! All this, against my permission and my knowledge. I'm thinking to myself, well isn't that illegal? I spent the next several hours talking to agents via their online agents, I'd have called, but feared losing my temper maybe and raising my voice, so I chose chat. I got no where. I was hung up on twice, I was told that there was nothing they can do to unlink MY credit card from her account, until SHE called in to change it! But wait a minute, it's my credit card, I told them,.. it's not my membership account, it's hers. I never approved my card being linked to her account...

Over and over again, I went around around about this with them, and I'd hit a brick wall, until she (This woman is just a friend of mine, and I am having trouble even reaching her), calls to square this away and change her credit source, I'm told "THERE'S NOTHING I CAN DO TO UNLINK MY CREDIT CARD FROM HER ACCOUNT". This is absurd... my advice to anyone going to get one of these flash pass memberships: DON'T. This is the worst customer service, the most blatant misuse of a person's credit I've ever had the misfortune of encountering in my lifetime. The whole thing ruined our park experience and I doubt I will ever again go near that place ever again.

We won't be back!

By Donna G |

Over half of the rides were closed, my children witness to Major altercations in line and started crying. Security is non-existent as people were cutting lines by the dozen smoking marijuana and cigarettes while in line and using foul language. It took an hour to get a refill. The place is trashed with litter everywhere. I feel so sorry for all of the animals that remain in this decrepit place. My advice would be don't go!

On the TOP TEN for good reason!!

By Caroline L |

Six Flags is on the Top Ten parks for a reason! It is not really a park for kids under 8 in my opinion, because it is definitely geared to an older thrill-seeking crowd. With that said, it DOES have good kid stuff - but I think for the money - wait til 8+. Our family's BEST vacation ever was HERE at Six Flags! Fright Nights was our first - and we were at the park from opening to close. Our next visit was some 18 years later and it was JUST as amazing! Going again with my adult children was a gift. We splurged with Platinum Flash Passes - and it was totally worth it, having attended Thanksgiving weekend. This is our go-to park. You will NOT be disappointed!

my experience was very nice and funy

By Arthur reblin |

i’ve like the park because the roller coasters were very cool and extreme but the place was kind of dirty and there are a little good restaurants along the park

Get back to the Six Flags Way

By Kendall B |

The park itself is nice and plenty of options for all guest but their customer service is horrible from the park to the corporate office. No way to contact anyone on the phone, time spent in line to get an issue resolved is longer than actual wait times for rides. Can't contact a live agent when calling and the app is beyond confusion, no where near simple especially for membership portal users.

Absolutely bad organised, long waiting times, unmotivated employees

By manuel |

Absolutely bad organisation, spent a lot of money for the flash pass, and had waiting times more than 45 minutes.

They only use one train even they would be available.

Nice rides but absolutely boring.

Disappointing that several big rides were shut and long queues for the others

By Heather S |

We went on some very good rides, but the overall experience was disappointing. They charge $30 for car-parking. I'm not sure if you can get there by public transport or not. We bought tickets online in advance because we read that it's cheaper. I'm glad we did because we couldn't see anywhere to buy them on the gate! We arrived at 9:30 just before the car-park opened, and got parked up nice and early. We wondered if we'd be allowed into the park (but not on the rides) before it officially opened at 10:30, but no, that was only for the Priority People. Once inside the park, we were disappointed to find that 4 of the big rides were closed, including one which had been a main part of the reason for coming here. Nearly all of the other rides seemed to be operating one car only, and those that were operating two had them right behind each other, so one was parked up waiting to get into the station while the other was loading and unloading passengers. This resulted in long queues, made worse by watching hoards of fast-pass passengers walk straight past the queue onto the ride. At other parks, there are signs saying "30 mins queue from this point" or similar, but there were none of those (presumably they couldn't say how many mins because they didn't know how many fast-pass people would be coming ahead). We did eventually find a screen showing the wait times for the rides, so we picked one that said it only had a 30-min wait, but after 20 mins the queue just hadn't moved at all so we gave up on it. A cynic would say that the staff were under orders to make sure the queue times were high so that they could sell more fast-passes. I couldn't possibly say if that was actually the case. The park stayed open till 8pm, but by 4:30 we'd had enough, even though there were still rides we hadn't been on. We had thought it might be fairly quiet on a Monday in November. I hate to think what it's like on a summer weekend.
On the plus side, Ninja, Twisted Colossus and Wonder Woman were very good rides.
Would not go again.

Great coasters, not so great operations

By TerrbearSF |

The rides are great, but the operations are abysmal.

A long time ago, while raising money for college, I worked at Cedar Fair's Cedar Point over in Sandusky, Ohio, and it is arguably next to Six Flags Magic Mountain when it comes to being a thrilling roller coaster capital in the USA. However, what impacted my review was the operations.

The facilities and bathrooms were disgusting and sticky, self-serving beverage stations were all out, flat, and run out. Some of the teenagers they hire out of nowhere were incredibly pushy and treated visitors rudely is mostly what took my review from average to poor rating. This and the lack of overall park cleanliness don't compare to experiences in Cedar Point and Disneyland.

I recommend visiting here if you are a roller coaster enthusiast and will pay extra for the premium Flash pass to skip all the long lines. And those long lines are not overstated. The heat in this part of California can be oppressive, with a light breeze, not a lot of shade, and very long lines (2+ hours) if you don't pay extra for a flash pass. I will not be able to ride everything in a single day if you don't, as it got close to close after we got a chance to ride everything on the most expensive premium Flash Pass with just enough room to ride two of our favorites a second time. So consider that when going within a single visit. We had no time to visit the water park and ride every coaster within a single day.

Bad time at Magic Mountain.

By Jennifer S |

We were able to go on 2 rides in 5 hours. The lines were incredibly long. Several rides were out of commission. Just very disappointed.

Spring Break with kids

By sjbarry57 |

Visited Magic Mountain in April while my kiddos, ages 12 and 14 were on spring break on a Thursday. We traveled from Ohio and had a blast! We got there right when the park opened and we were able to make it to every single coaster with the exception of Riddler's Revenge and Superman which had shut down during the day. I'd say my only complaint was the lack of food places open. Other than that, it was an epic day as my son would say.

Thank you, Six Flags

By Monica M |

Six Flags continues to have wonderful rides; we're partial to the roller coasters...

Each visit we seek to ride at least American Thunder and The Screamin' Eagle, and ideally The Boss...

The food at JB's Smokehouse is great - smoked chicken and/or smoked chicken; there is even a bar there serving "adult beverages."

And amazing ice cream, with or without waffle cones; chocolate-covered apples... and the turkey legs.

And did we mention the world's best coaster - American Thunder? The ride is great and the team operating American Thunder are friendly and fun.

Horrible COVID-19 Safety Protocols

By Jane Doe |

I signed up for Platinum Membership. The UNMASKED employee requested my son and I to take off our masks so that she could take a picture of us. I was really uncomfortable with this request. Had I known, I would not have bought this membership.

It would have made a world of a difference if the employee was masked and would have made out experience at Six Flags 100x better.

Magical time!!

By Emely E |

I went during my summer vacation. I had so much fun, the lines for the rides weren't long but I totally understand it. It's a theme park of course, and it was totally worth the wait. The customer service is amazing, and I felt safe throughout the rides. My favorite part of the trip to Six flags was when i went on a ride called Twisted collassoll. It was honestly a great experience and fun to go with friends.

The good outweighs the bad

By The Pidge |

As with other Six Flags properties, a day at the park is not without compromises. Fortunately in this case, there is a lot more positive than negative.

When it comes to thrill rides, this theme park is without peer (at least on the west coast). The collection of roller coasters is vast, with a lot of world-class machinery like X2, Tatsu, Twisted Colossus, and Goliath. Unfortunately, during my visit quite a few were closed, which ended up being a minor disappointment. Additionally, the park's quest to be the roller coaster capital of the world has left it with a threadbare lineup of smaller, less intense rides. Six Flags Magic Mountain (SFMM) has no Ferris wheel, full-sized train, and few spinning rides. More variety would be nice.

The staff seemed pleasant and competent with the exception of a few isolated incidents like the painfully slow Riddler's Revenge crew that spent more time laughing and goofing off with each other than loading guests into the single train on the track. A few (like Superman and Full Throttle) didn't open until later in the day. While it's nice seeing Tatsu get repainted, other rides like Ninja appear as though they haven't received any cosmetic attention in decades. And while the hilly setting is nice, it leads to sore legs and feet, and the beauty doesn't extend to all areas of the park- the back part with West Coast Racers and Apocalypse is downright ugly.

It's the fast food of theme park experiences, but there's nothing wrong with wanting and enjoying greasy fries from time to time.

Do not come here.

By Rbrigh |

Worst park experience ever. Half rides are closed. Almost all rides running with a single car. Huge waiting times. Being here for two hours still not ride. APP doesn't show real waiting times. Asked for a refund, they dont do it. GO TO A DIFFERENT PARK. Six flags, never again.

Great Park, but some silly issue

By Aleks F |

Just want to let other people know that when you purchase annual, they advertise "special price" tickets for you family or friends, and you can only know special tickets price after purchase and funny that is more expensive then normal one... Magic Mounting regular $50 and "special" just for you $55!:) Annual purchased online, Special one also online, hoverer there customer services refer then $55 because discount from NOT online tickets, which dent make sense and its also very silly and stupid, looks like a scam people, so if one of the reason to purchase annual ar better level annual because they give special tickets or more special tickets for better annual, do not buy it. I think SixFlags should more respect their clients and don't trick them especial for such a small amount of money.

Waste of a day.

By Lloydsboat |

Waste of a day. Long lines, many rides closed, rides stopped after waiting in line, rode only to me ride in 6 hours. Also running fewer cars for even longer wait times. Poor line management from parking to entrance. Covid vaccination required, but never checked. High prices, bad food, long lines.

Great park

By Steve B |

My teenage boys wanted to visit so planned it into our trip and it was a great but very tiring day out. We were there at opening time so got on the rides pretty quickly. We had the basic ticket with no upgrades for fast track etc and very happy with that because the most we waited was probably 15 minutes but l do have to say it didn’t appear to be very busy ( Friday in August). If you like rollercoasters then this is your place, lots of fun. As standard with theme parks, they want to squeeze all your money out so be prepared for eye watering prices for food and drink ($6 for a medium soft drink so factor that up to a family of 4 on a hot day….wow).

Great until the end.

By Darryl C |

I am very disappointed in the treatment that my daughter received from security while on a recent visit to Six Flags Magic Mountain. She was with her boyfriend and children and they were exiting the park because it was near closing time. She realized that she had left her phone inside the park. They looked on another phone and saw the location of the phone inside the park and knew where it was. They decided to go back because they had not left the main gate area yet. Security advised them that they couldn’t go back because they were closing and no one was allowed inside. Yet, there were people inside still buying merchandise and walking around. They were told by security that after the park closed, they would go look for it. Even though she knew exactly where it was. They could have just simply gone to the location that my daughter provided had they chose to listen to her. But they decided to threaten her that they would resort to using their tazer if she didn’t comply. Even though at that point, they were exiting the park. After the exchange of words, police were called and they were escorted from the park at which time the officers threatened that they would use their tazer. She returned the next morning and the phone and all of her belongings were exactly where she said they were. The treatment was unfair and unnecessary. Which leads to a few questions. Do they treat all patrons with those type of actions or just her? If just her, why? Was it because of her race? It seemed very unnecessary for an officer to threaten to use a tazer on a female which is half their weight, did not have a weapon or anything in her possession, nor did she pose a threat. I still gave two stars because they had fun until that point.

Worst park

By L.F |

They are going to take an urgent course with Disney and Universal to learn how to organize queues, I have never seen a park so disorganized, huge and messy queues, the carts leave with empty seats all the time, most of the rides only have one cart to run, The queues get huge, and in addition many cause problems and stop working after you've spent an hour in line, unbelievable. They sell a food pass that can only be used every hour and a half in some restaurants and they have huge queues as there is only one attendant, honestly they park with fifth-rate service, terrible, shameful.

Mismanaged park & too expensive

By askalvy |

Horrible experience. Completely mismanaged park.

I scanned a QR code at the front of the park that was on a sign that said to use that to buy tickets. Once purchased I realized it was to the water park, which I didn’t want. The one-hour wait in the customer service line, in the heat, was a horrible waste of time to just refund that and get the right ones. Nearly everyone in line had made the same mistake.

If you don’t buy a fast pass at $100 or more per person you will be standing in lines most of the day.

There are longer lines to get food than there are to get on rides. It took well over 1 hour in the hot sun to get food that is 3X overpriced and not very good.

They are a money making machine and don’t realize that at a certain point of expense, inconvenience & quality of the experience people will just refuse to come back and spend more money later. I am one of those. I will never take my family back.

Broken? No info, line has come to a stop.

By Håvard S |

Weekday, arrived before opening, still waiting in line for the first ride at 12:00. Not recommended.

Awesome but expensive

By Adam C |

It is a great park. It's massive, the selection of rides is perfect and they are REALLY fun. The prices though... It's $70 per person for basic entry (there were 3 of us), $40 for basic parking and food was $20. We spent a total of $500 for one day at this park (with 3 gold flash passes costing $95 each). I get that they're trying to recover from debt at the moment, but this much money will draw people away from the park. Whatever... If you can afford it, it is a must visit.

Big Disappointment So few rides open!!

By Adrian T |

Very disappointing! Turned up at 10.30 and only 3 rides working. Why when 10.30 is such a late start anyhow? Rides slowly started to become available from after 11.30 but several including Tatsu kept breaking down. I wish I had heeded all the negative TA reviews I read before today and maybe went to Universal instead. Shame as the rides are good when they are working but can't recommend this place to visit when the cost is so eyewateringly high.

Adrenaline rush!

By Yavuz Savata |

It is the most popular and arguably the best of the four Six Flags located within the borders of California. king of six flags.
It is located in the Valencia region of Los Angeles County. Do not mix with others.

Even though we went on a weekday, there was an average waiting time of half to an hour for all roller coasters due to the summer season. If you go cheap and buy regular entry, you will spend the whole day waiting in line and being able to ride each attraction only once. You may not even be able to ride all of them.
That's why you have to spend money to avoid ruining all your fun by getting stuck in these annoying and frustrating queues.
For example, we purchased "the flash pass platinum" by paying an additional fee of 210 USD per person, on top of the 65 USD general entrance fee. There are also cheaper gold (125 USD) and regular (100 USD) passes, but the waiting time also increases.
We also paid an extra 45 USD per person for unlimited drinks and meals throughout the day (one-day dining pass).
There may be people who think that we can go and buy a meal pass and we can all fill our stomachs with it. Let me tell you right away; After one use, you have to wait approximately one and a half hours for the next one. The situation is different for beverages. They give you glasses. You can have as much drink as you want, whenever you want, with that glass.

When you download the application, you can see both the boarding pass and meal pass waiting times through the application. You also choose the ride you want to ride from this application. It generates a code for you (for example, it will be active in five minutes). You scan that code at the flash pass booth. You cannot switch quickly as you wish without creating the code.
Let me also point out this; You can also purchase all of these upgrades once you're inside. You see that the queue is long, the waiting times are getting longer and you buy an upgrade. You will also need to buy it.

Oh, and the pass is not valid on one or more roller coasters, either permanently or depending on the day you go. For example, the time we went was "Superman: Escape from Krypton", which was the world's first roller coaster to exceed 100 mph. The ride lasts about 25 seconds as a result of waiting in line for an hour, and has no special feature other than exposing it to a negative g force of about 7 seconds due to its speed. Although this 7-second period was the longest time recorded as a Guinness record until 2018. Still, even if the pass was valid, I wouldn't ride it a second time.

Apart from this, a few of them that I was very curious about were closed due to maintenance and renovation works.
The most enjoyable of these is The Riddler's Revenge. It provides a tremendous driving experience in the familiar standing position. You can look at the youtube video. It's hard not to be able to experience the pleasure of being upside down while standing.

Another one that is closed is Lex Luthor*. As you know, it is a free fall tower, but it ranks first in the world in terms of height. It is also at the top in terms of decline rate/duration.
At the same time, the middle part of this tower is used for "Superman: Escape from Krypton".

Let's talk about other rides I have experienced. :)

- first; Definitely the best of this park and ranked top in the world x2
The world's first 4D roller coaster. The train* goes separately, the seats return separately. There seems to be no progress with a straight angle, it feels like you are doing two separate rides. You don't understand which direction you are going/turning. It makes you forget everything.
From the first moment of descent after climbing 55 meters, positive, negative, horizontal, vertical, zero; You are literally exposed to all kinds of g forces. While we are experiencing these, the train goes up and down, goes back and forth, the seats ring out of the air...
crazy!
Except for me, no one among us even wanted to ride a second time.
I did my second tour after dark. It cannot be explained in words.

- my second favorite; tatsu
a flying roller coaster. It was the fastest and longest flying roller coaster in the world until 2016. When I say flying, I mean you are strapped in a face down position like Superman and it is the only roller coaster in the world with a "zero gravity" feeling.
Even before making his first start, the seats move to a prone position. You start to climb smoothly. You start to get nervous as the people walking in the park shrink before your eyes. There is no need for landing, turning or somersaulting; If you are not used to this type of riding, even the first climb is enough to scare you.
Tatsu has the world's longest pretzel cycle.
(see: pretzel)

- third; twisted colossus
It is the longest track in the park, with a length of approximately one and a half km. The total ride exceeds 3.5 minutes. There are a few features that distinguish it from others, but the most important feature, that it has a "wooden" scaffolding, is no longer available. It was closed in 2014 to add steep, low and hard turns, and reopened a year later with a wooden-looking steel pier.
Another important feature is that it is a two-line drive. It is an incredible experience to see other people having the same experience just a meter or two next to you (sometimes a little ahead, sometimes behind) as you turn from side to side in your own train.
In many parts of the ride, you ride side by side with the other train, in some places you cross over, and sometimes you come side by side and race. The operator spends a lot of effort to balance all of these. And in some places it gets too close to the ground.
Another detail that increases the pleasure is that it enters the area of Goliath, another ride of the park, and passes under its rails. The feeling of interacting with people on another toy ride is indescribable.

- fourth; wonder woman flight of courage
It is the newest ride in the park, which opened in July 2022. They have the title of "the world's fastest and longest single-rail roller coaster". It reaches a speed of 93 km. This was the device that I underestimated from the outside, but it was the one that frustrated me the most while driving. The total negative g-force exposure time (see: air time) was surprisingly high. The tour itself also takes a long time. If you choose a vehicle closer to the back rather than the front during this drive, strangely, it creates a much greater feeling of skidding, being thrown, and falling.

- fifth; goliath
After climbing 70-odd meters, it begins a rapid decline of approximately 80 meters at an angle of 61 degrees. When it reaches the ground, it enters and exits a small tunnel. In this decrease, it reaches a speed of 137 kmh. This device has ranked first in the world for years in terms of “fall height/maximum speed” performance. Currently it is still in second place.

They were all so good that I can't tell one from the other, but I still want to mention one more.
West Coast Racers, in which they collaborated with the West Coast Customs team on the car modification program that was broadcast on the Discovery Channel at the time.
This one has double lines, just like the twisted colossus. The world's first ride with a quadruple launch mechanism. In other words, it offers an acceleration experience that is four times stronger.
Two separate trains start on two separate lines at the same time. You interact with the other train from above, below and from the side at different angles 30 times until you reach the finish. The race doesn't end after you reach the finish. While one of the trains completes its tour, the other is pulled into a repair garage designed just like the TV show. At that moment, a video of a brother from the program team appears on the screen. Your train is (supposedly) being modified between repair sound effects while he tells you something about driving and improvements. After the video ends, the garage door opens and the two trains start racing again with a beastly start at the same time. In fact, here you do not start with the train you raced in the previous round, but you race with the train that has just started. When the newly started train enters the modification room, it starts again with the train of the next round. The cycle is like this. You can understand what I mean when you watch the video below.
It may not be scary, but it's super entertaining.

I would like to tell you about all the rides here one by one. However, you neither have time to read nor I have the strength to write.
Also, the feeling you get from the videos above is not even close to the reality. You definitely have to experience it yourself.

Those who go to Los Angeles and don't stop here will lose a lot.

NOTE: The reason I dropped 1 star is because the service forces you to buy a Flash Pass. If you do not buy it, it will definitely be economical, but you may have a nervous breakdown while waiting for hours before the ride.

Flash Pass worth it for a special day!

By Thomas N |

I did the flash pass gold level and had a great day even though the park was very busy. I went with my adopted adult son who can get a little anxious. I know the flash pass helped us have a fun experience. Normally I try to go on slower days but with his work schedule that was just not possible... Pull down trip advisor did not have option for adult children so I put friends.

Fun rides, but poor operations

By khearo82 |

I’ll start by saying this park has a lot of fun thrill rides that my teens and their friends love. It’s also in close proximity to where we live. Most of the staff is friendly, but very young. The issues with this place is their efficiency. Most of the rides only run one coaster, so the queues move super slowly. They also don’t have staff that directs people into lines to make sure the trains are being run at full capacity. You can often find trains running half empty, even when there is a long line of people waiting. They don’t update the app with correct wait times, so you often don’t realize how long you are going to end up waiting to ride. I’m currently waiting for my kids to ride Riddlers Revenge that said was a 5 minute wait in the app, but they’ve been in line for over an hour. Magic Mountain should take some efficiency lessons from Disneyland. Maybe incorporate single rider lines and have staff present to make sure the lines are running efficiently. I suspect this is intentionally done to force people to purchase Flash Passes, which are way too expensive. Six Flags MM really needs to focus on operations and making visits better for their patrons.

DO NOT BUY THEIR MEAL PLANS

By Connie W |

Do not buy their meal plans!! It is a fraud. I purchased a One Day Dining Deal for $19.99 plus tax months ago planning to use it at Six Flags during Spring Break on April 12. At the time when I bought it, it says "unlimited" meals. On April 11, the news said Six Flags canceled all unlimited meal plans. Instead of giving us a refund, Six Flags reduced the deal. For $19.99+2.00+tax for a total of $23.87, we got only one meal and one snack. There is no drink like it says on the card, it is NOT "All Day" at all. Just one meal and one snack, one time, that you can actually purchase for less than $20.00 when you buy it in the park. You are paying more ahead. Also, Six Flags do not keep up with their promises and deals. So, be careful. Do not pay ahead. Don't trust their words, even it is in writing.

Go on a Tuesday!

By Bravo D |

Let me qualify this by saying that I have a season pass and am able to go on off hours.

I LOVE rollercoasters. This place has an amazing selection of incredible rides, if you like giant drops and interesting mechanics. I am also completely enamored with the light displays during the Holiday in the Park setup. It's one of the best light displays around, largely due to the sheer amount of lights.

Things that don't bother me at all, but you should keep in mind in case they bother you:

1) The food is not great there. It's quite expensive and not great. I think it's starting to get a little better now, but be sure to have a decent budget for your lunch! The best place I've tried so far is the gyros in the food court near Goliath.

2) The place is cashless. I SUPER hate that, but c'est la vie. They do have these machines where you can use cash to buy a pre-paid credit card, but ugh.

3) The lines can be out of control on weekends and holidays. Again, I have the luxury of a pass and a semi-flexible schedule, so I can go on at Tuesday at 11 AM on occasion, so I can practically walk on to rides at those times, but on a Saturday, it can be a nightmare, as with most amusement parks.

Bearing these things in mind, I think this park is well worth the price of admission. The rides really are amazing, and I love hoofing it around that big hilly park. If you do choose to go, go off-season in the middle of the week. You will love it.

Great Family Fun!

By Hillary R |

There is something for everyone here! With a membership you save tons of money! We love the rides games and food!

What to expect

By Michelle L |

If you are planning to make a visit especially during the holidays I STRONGLY recommend to make future park reservations and be ready to have your COVID vaccination card hand ready. If you don’t have one or even if it’s just a picture you’ll need a most recent negative test result and have it ready. Unless you’re willing to wait in line to get tested (at main entrance of park). They will not let you enter if you don’t have proof yes even for children 5+. If you’re a member you will go directly into the entrance without any wait time. Also, they are not accepting any cash payment, they have stations of converting cash to card all over the park it’s simple and easy to use! Strongly recommend to also use the mobile app pay for any food. Overall be prepared in advance!!!

Fantastic Amusement Park

By BpARJ |

My whole family came to this park after a rough recovery from a surgery I had to undergo. The price was quite a bit cheaper than Disneyland and we personally enjoyed it better than Disney as well. I wasn't able to enjoy all of the roller coasters due to recovery from my surgery but I did ride the Goliath and Batman and we are going to have to come back and spend a couple of days because of the sheer number of rides that are available! I highly encourage going to this park!

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

By Jas |

Okay so I don’t even know where to start, the food lines were crazy we had to wait 3 WHOLE hours to wait for our food, even when we ordered online, we had to wait another hour… like ridiculous 🙄. They had no capacity on people. So they were just letting anyone who’s anyone in!! Insane right. Ugh service was bad the weather was bad. A lot of good rides were closed down and we had to wait like 2 hours to ride the 3 we went on. Me & my friends literally had to drive 2 hours and back! Never going to Six Flags AGAIN. THEY SUCK. I rather go to Disneyland.

Horrible staff, understaffed , terrible customer service!!!

By Brigette B |

Got there at 11am nothing was open food wise , they work on their own schedule I guess??? Then we went to go on the rides and it was good the first 30 min then it was a 2 hr wait, so we went and got the fast pass for 90.00 each so we wouldn’t have to wait 2 hrs per ride , by the time we walked back to get the fast pass they raised the price to 120.00 per person when they saw it was getting busy. Spent 500.00 for 2 people to ride 9 rides. Food for 2 people was a easy 100.00 and the wait for food was like a ride🙄and the food was like what u would get in a after hrs McDonald’s leftovers!! But the pizza was great!!! I guess we’re not used to California’s way of customer service (Rude, don’t give a s***attitude) No wonder everyone from California moves to Idaho! 😁

Amazing Experience

By World E |

We had an incredible time during our visit! We took advantage of a fantastic promotion offering 50% off daily tickets, which made the experience even sweeter. Arriving around 6 PM, we had plenty of time to enjoy the park since it was open until 1:00 AM. The entire park was beautifully decked out for Halloween, really adding to the festive spirit.

The roller coasters were amazing—fast, exhilarating, and full of adrenaline! The wait times were very reasonable, making the experience even more enjoyable.

If you're looking for a fun-filled, memorable night out, especially for roller coaster lovers, we highly recommend visiting the park.

Six Flags Magic Mountain Cali

6 flags blew the roof off when we came to visit great service certain employee went beyond expectations wow factor more or less. Great time employee verification friendly.

terrible

By Grace F |

customer service sucks. you can’t even talk to a real person on the phone. i called 5 different numbers and still couldn’t reach someone

Love it!

By Blake & Eddie |

We loved six flags magic mountain. The operations were great and very efficient. There is plenty of parking not far from the entrance. I like that the hurricane harbor and six flags magic mountain are separate entrances especially so they we could take our water park bag back to the car easily before returning to the dry park. The food we got was good.

Fraud to charge guests yet not use money for guest experience

By ASUscott S |

Stop shorting staff.....bathrooms are not clean usually (floor full of paper towels as trash overflowing, and most paper towels empty for use by 1pm); park claims to be world leader in 20 roller coaster, however so far summer of 2023 up to 10 of them are closed most days (hence what you pay is fraud as you get half of what is claimed); Park stuck in the 1970' on over 100 degree days a modern park would offer cooling mister systems (Universal and Disney do), working air conditioning indoors would be modern, each wait area for each ride that is indoors is hotter than the outside, is just gross.

Short staff on shuttles to/from parking, if in operation is only 1 bus, most of the time it is not running. You park as far as a 20 minute walk away and have to walk on pure unshaved hot asphalt, insane.

Fast rides, slow staff

By Chopper833 |

Pros-
Excellent selection of fast rides which are all easily accessible.
Staff operating the rides were great, very welcoming and funny.
The park and toilets were all clean.

Cons-
Don't bother will a refillable drink unless your happy to queue a minimum of 20 minutes to get it refilled due to very slow staff at ALL food outlets! Also if you do buy one make sure you get a wrist band, we wasn't given one and then was told we could only have water until we produced my husbands bank statement showing the purchase.

QUEUE JUMPING is a nightmare! We encountered in on every ride, every food outlet and even in the toilets! I was first in the queue at the toilets and a lady just walked in and stood infront of me!

Lack of toilets in the restrooms! I queued every single time for at least 10 minutes as most restrooms only had 3 cubicles.

Food is very, very expensive! $6 for a packet of crisp, $16 for a slice of pizza and $12 for a cup of tea or smoothie!

Like a cheap roller blade park

By Laurie S |

Absolute joke. So many third parties (lockers, ultimate pass, dining) disparity chasing a dollar combining for an unintegrated app and a low service quality experience. Great place if you are a 15 year old that likes standing in lines. But way better places to spend your time if you are looking for, and prepared to pay for, an integrated and high quality family experience. We’ll take the $300+ per person spent, somewhere else.

Unacceptable experience at Six Flags Santa Clarita

By Tammie W |

This park was an utter disappointment today. We paid an extra $95 per kid for a flash pass and the waits were still very long. Also, several of the main rides were closed. For lunch we ordered food on the mobile app to save time, but when we arrived to pick it up they had no knowledge of it. So, we stood in line for an hour and forty minutes to get lunch and some water. Most drink stations were closed, so it took about an hour just to get refills of water. The few stores open were out of water bottles and so were the vending machines. Since it was 106 degrees we felt dehydrated most of the day. Also, all of the trash cans were full and overflowing. The park was overall dirty. I feel like they should not be at full capacity if they are understaffed. Also, something needs to be done about the long wait time to get water, especially since it’s the hot summer months. Restock the coolers in the stores and the vending machines! I would not spend the money on the refillable bottles. Way overpriced considering we waited an hour every time we needed a refill. If you are going on vacation and trying to decide if you want to stop here, I’d suggest spending your money elsewhere.

Flash Pass Scam!

By NorthStar38508844092 |

Flash Pass Scam - Beware! Six Flags Cheats Families with Young Kids!

I am beyond frustrated and upset with our recent experience at Six Flags in California. We were lied to, cheated, and left extremely disappointed. I want to warn every family, especially those with young children, about the deceptive practices surrounding the Flash Pass.

My husband and I, along with our three children, decided to visit Six Flags, hoping for a fun family day out. We noticed someone selling Flash Passes while we were in line. Given the huge crowd, mostly students there for what seemed like graduation night, my husband thought it was a good idea to avoid long waits.

We approached the salesperson and were told that the Flash Pass was $210 per ticket. We ended up spending a whopping $1050 for five passes, on top of the $305 we had already paid for general admission. We specifically asked if the Flash Pass could be used for smaller rides, as our youngest child is only 4 years old and 42 inches tall. The salesperson assured us it could be used for all rides, including the small ones.

We paid and went to activate our passes, but were given hardly any instructions – just to select the ride before riding and have the barcode scanned. Once inside the park, we headed to the two water rides we most wanted to enjoy as a family, only to find out that both (Jet Stream and Roaring Rapids) were closed, along with four other rides. No one had informed us about these closures!

Determined to make the best of a bad situation, our 8-year-old and 4-year-old wanted to ride the bumper cars. But when we tried to use the Flash Pass, we were told it couldn’t be used for small rides. This meant our 4-year-old, who doesn’t meet the height requirement for any of the Flash Pass rides, was completely left out. In the end, only my oldest daughter and my husband could make any use of these Flash Passes, since my 8-year-old was too scared to ride the big rides and I had to stay with our youngest.

Outraged, we went to customer relations. All they did was send us an email stating that Six Flags has a strict no refund policy and denied our refund request. I am furious that we were misled from the start. No one told us about the ride closures, and our daughter, who doesn’t even meet the height requirement for any Flash Pass rides, is still not being refunded.

It’s clear these employees are trained to deceive and trick families into spending the most money possible. It’s greed at its worst, and it makes me wonder if they earn commissions from these sales.

**DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE FLASH PASS!** Especially if you have young children. We were scammed out of $1050, and Six Flags refused to make it right. This was a huge waste of money and a heartbreaking disappointment for our family.

Place of strong emotions

I'm not into exciting games, when I was younger I played almost all of them, this time I only looked from the outside, but if you like strong emotions this is the place

Roller coaster paradise

By Clorissa P |

The park is open to all customers, no reservations needed unlike many other parks. Masks are optional while walking & riding the rides. But they must be worn, when you enter any building. (restaurant or shop)

If you do get the flash pass. You can have it downloaded to your phone, by scanning a QR code. That option is ONLY available is you bought your flash pass ahead of time. Before entering the park. But be warned, not all phones actually work with this program. Many people had to stand in line & get a bracelet because there phones wouldn't work with the flash pass system. The line to get a flash pass is horrid! If your a season pass member or hold some member status. You can jump ahead of the line, they have a separate line for them. Like many people said, the lines for food are terrible. So we brought in our own bottled water, fresh fruit & granola bars. They saved us time & hunger pains, till we left the park to eat.

Keep in mind the entire park is cashless! If you plan to use cash, your out of luck. The only accept Credit cards & Debt cards. I did see some people using there phones for payment. (Apple pay / Google pay) But if you forget and have only cash, they have a machine called cash to card. That takes you bills and issues you a prepaid debt card. This machines are a pain in the butt! Some work & some don't. The park needs to clearly mark the places that have the cash to card machine. (Banners, signs & ect.) If you ask an employee, many are clueless on there location. And some run out of cards, because everyone ran to the same machine. I'm not a fan of this system. I honestly believe, it way to make more money for the park. Because any unused money is non refundable! Some people bought prepaid cards outside the park like at Walmart or any local store. And they said it works perfectly.

They lines aren't bad when the park opens up, but when lunch time arrives. The flood gates of people seem to arrive. Wait times go up to 86 minutes even with a flash pass! So plan your rides accordingly. Just remember you have a 10 minute window, to get to your ride. When the alarm goes off saying your ride is ready. A couple of rides were down, Tatsu & Justice league. But your flash pass let's you know, which ride is available. And which rides are closed. The kids rides usually had a very short wait time. As everyone opted for the big roller coasters. This park is geared towards the thrill seeker. As it's dubbed the Roller coaster capital of the west. I always enjoy my time at Six Flags. Yes, there's always room for improvement but the ticket prices are way better then Disneyland or Universal Studios. And honestly, I have more fun here then any other park in Southern California. But everyone has there priorities. I hope to came back soon, until next time Magic Mountain.

Awesome

By Sylvain Crocq |

We went to six flags Monday and had an awesome time. We bought the platinum flash pass and it was totally worth the extra money for 3 people. We bypassed the line since it directs you to the exit line beginning. Some people had been waiting 1-2 hours. We did 12 rides from 11-9pm. We were exhausted from the Adrenalin. Goliath was our favourite since it was the fastest and smoothest. Riddler was painful on the neck and head cause very bumpy. Food was overpriced as usual but we saved lots by making lunch and going back to our car for lunch. Awesome day.

Do not go . The worst park I ever been

By Shirly D |

We visit the park today.we came on 10:30 and left at the end at 20:00. 4 trains do not work at all. Those that work keep been on constraction so you need to wait in line for hours... and that is the reason you are not able to succeed to do more than 5 trains all day. The lines are extremely long.in additional You are not allowed to bring food or drink and ghe drink and food are very expensive. For example drink cost you 8 dolar a can . The minimum and the smallest hamburger cost 22 dolar. In conclusion do not worth the monney. Do not go !!

VIP is the way to go.

By Eric L |

We booked a VIP experience for 3 adults and 3 kids. Parked right out front. Our guide, Francisco met us in the lot and made sure we did everything we wanted, ate anything that looked yummy, and kept us hydrated with Smart Waters on a very hot (95+) day. Yes, VIP tickets are much more expensive. But, after 10 hours in the park, every open ride ridden (some 3-4x), zero waits, and 100% positive experiences with all park staff we interacted with, there is simply no substitute. You can read complaints and negative reviews, and the list of negatives simply vanish when you go VIP. Francisco is an excellent guide and it was nice to see him giving fist bumps, props, and other nice interactions with staff. A number of times, other guests interacted with him - questions, directions, opinions on the next best ride, etc. He was chatty, kind, and positive all day. Great with our kids too.

Holiday Lights Through January

By LeighSB |

Since the regular park experience is closed by COVID-19, Magic Mountain arranged a drive-thru experience so families can still enjoy all the holiday lights and music, while staying safe.

It’s a dose of cheer and holiday magic that’s sorely needed right now. I’ve been back more than once since Christmas, and think it’s a great display.

I won’t say it’s the best light show I’ve ever seen, but given the available resources and the dire need for cheer this year, I’m really impressed.

I’ll be going back every weekend until it wraps at the end of January, and I hope they might do something similar again in the future. I REALLY hope the park itself can re-open by summer, but if not, I would absolutely come back for Independence Day lights.

Fun times at Magic Mountain

By CabrilloD25 |

My sons and I spent about 3 hours today. It was hot but very bearable.

Things to consider:
They do allow visitors to bring in backpacks.
They do allow visitors to bring in unopened water bottles. Make sure to bring some because water bottles are expensive at the park. Freeze them at home because they hit the spot on a hot day.
Get there early to limit the amount of time you have to spend in line waiting for rides.
Get the basic parking ($35 REALLY!) because it is no worse than the next expensive price level when you arrive early. Also there is a shuttle that takes customers back to their parking area, regardless of where you park.

We got in right at 11am and left right at 2.
We got on:
Goliath (no wait at all. Walked onto the ride)
Twisted Colossus (no wait at all. Walked onto the ride)
Batman (5 minute wait)
Bumper Cars (5 minute wait)
Jet Stream (15 minute wait)
Ninja 2 x (5 minute wait)

The waits for the big rides (Tatsu, Viper, Full Throttle) were all under 20 minute waits.

It pays to get there early and go on a weekday.

My experience was excellent. We can't wait to return.

Don't bother to visit, poor management and they don't care about you

By C F |

Don't bother to come, they have a lot of rides either closed for maintenance or broken (after waiting in line for hours). There is no line management, ride operators don't care how you line up for the rides. My family spent an entire day just for 3 rides, its a complete mess!

Disappointed

By Janie p |

Spent most of our time waiting in line for drinks! They sell a cup you can refill all day but hardly anywhere to refill it.Each time we waited at least 30 minutes to refill.Maybe there short handed but not enough drink stands open for the amount of people on a very hot day.Ride lines were as expected or less. And not as clean as previous visits.Prices of fast pass are a rip off!Really $125 more for fastest pass.I know you lost a lot of money during pandemic but no need to rip people off.

Took my thirteen-year-old son for the first time

By HappyJana |

Took my thirteen-year-old son for the first time. Best amusement park in the world. We got a season pass for a great deal so I can go back and get him on some of the roller coasters that were a little intimidating. Also, we got the food pass so we can eat every 90 minutes and thought it was a pretty good deal- funnel cake is not included.

Fun day out

By travels_with_toot |

Great day out although park is looking very tired and in need of renovations. Many food outlets were closed, there were limited staff to assist or serve at outlets and food was extremely expensive! One beer was $17! The whole park needs a fresh coat of paint and a good clean. Other than that the staff that were working were very helpful. Make sure you ride the Full Throttle ! You can thank me later..

DO NOT USE THE VENDING MACHINES AT MAGIC MOUNTAIN!

By GoPlaces11624381283 |

The vending machines say $5.25 for a water but charge your credit card $10.00. It happened at more than one vending machine(by front gate & by Scream). They are ripping off park guests.
Magic Mountain does not refund you the difference. You have to call the vending company...complete hassle.

Terrible! AVOID

By robyn d |

Terrible park!
So many safety concerns!
it is only a matter of time before the negligence and behaviour of Six Flags Magic Mountain and their management team results in something serious happening or someone getting ill/injured. When this happens we will support the local news outlets and health and safety executives with the pictures, videos we gathered and concerns we experienced

Six Flags, a great theme park

By Adam |

Best theme park I've ever been too, great rides, proper white knuckle rides, but also rides for the younger ones and people not keen on rollercoasters.

A thrilling day out with a very wet start!🤣

By Christine M |

What a great place to spend the day! The rides are BIG and give lots of thrills but if you want to ride them all you will need more than one day! If you are into river rapids I would suggest you make this the first of your rides as it will give you the rest of the day to dry off 🤣 The queues were quite small when we were there,15 minutes at most, so managed a large number of rides but we voted the West Coast Racers the best. We had a slice of pizza for lunch which was large and not over priced for a theme park. Great value for money.

Disappointed

By Shayna L |

The experience is definitely a 1. We paid about 210 for freight fest, general day pass, and fast pass. We were able to go on 5 rides and 2 haunted houses. Not only that but $50 preferred parking and over $200 for drinks and food. Six flags- you are definitely taking advantage. 🙄 disappointed

Horrible Experience 4/6/2021!!!!!!

By ty d |

Went April 6, 2021. Worst experience ever!! Do not go during covid. First, park closes at 6pm so there's not enough time to get on rides cuz each ride is like a 3hr wait.. Then, you have to park extremely far, way in back dirt area, because main parking lot is being used for vaccines. and THERE IS NO SHUTTLE BUS!!! so had to walk aaaaallll the way to park!!! The lines are ridiculous long! Even rides like "gold rush" are a 2hr wait because they are social distancing on the rides. There has to be 2 empty rows between everyone. The Tram inside park is closed!!! Walked all the way to Ninja (for my 8yr old ), up that big a$s hill & stairs, just to find out the ride was closed. I was so pissed. Then looked over at superman line. That was crazy long so wasn't gonna do that. The only ride we got on was "Justice league" which nobody likes but only ride with 30min wait. All the other line were too long! Fast pass line was soooooo long to get a pass. Guest relations line for refund was super long. Didn't even try it. Then waited 1hr and 30min in funnel cake line.. just horrible!! Then had to walk allll the way back to car. Waisted my entire day all for 1 ride and a funnel cake!!!

Tip:
1) Don't go!!
2) Make early reservations even if you plan to arrive late. You're going to need it.

Save your money

By Kim C |

Just a horrid day. We were able to ride five rides all day. So many rides closed so the lines for those rides that were open were all 2+ hours. Goliath, scream, viper, revolution, ninja, riddler, apocalypse ….all closed. The food line was over an hour. Yes, Magic Mountain is cheap compared to Dland. But I'd much rather pay Disney prices and enjoy myself than torture myself at Magic Mountain. It had been 17 years since I'd been to MM. The service remains as bad as ever. What a horrid day and a waste of money. It equates to $20 a ride. Stupid.

Cool day at Six Flags

By NorthStar67083961408 |

We had a great day. All tracks except a few (e.g. SUPERMAN), were in operation. We visited the park on a Wednesday. It is very worthwhile to be on site when parking is opened, as the waiting time is sometimes only 5-10min. During the day/evening the number of visitors increased. Waiting time between 15-30 min., except X-2 to 120 min. and Wonder Woman and the waterways about 70 min.

Don’t buy a flash pass, or a one shot flash pass!

By Delphine G |

I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience at Six Flags attraction park, specifically due to the one-shot Flash Pass. In my opinion, this pass turned out to be nothing more than a scam. Despite purchasing the Flash Pass, I found myself spending just as much time waiting in line as all the other individuals who did not have this pass.

The whole purpose of investing in a Flash Pass is to bypass long lines and enjoy a more efficient and enjoyable experience at the park. However, this was far from the reality I experienced. Instead of significantly reducing my wait times, I found myself waiting just as long as those without the pass.
I purchased the pass at 3:28 PM and I didn’t get into the right before 5:10 PM. I have pictures to prove it, they don’t have enough equipment or stuff anyway… but they will still sell you a flash pass anyway!

This situation left me feeling cheated and frustrated. I had high expectations for the Flash Pass, hoping it would allow me to maximize my time and enjoy more rides. Unfortunately, it failed to deliver on its promises.

I believe that if a park offers a service like the Flash Pass, it should ensure that it actually provides the benefits it claims. Otherwise, it becomes nothing more than a deceptive marketing tactic to extract more money from visitors without delivering the promised advantages.

Overall, my experience with the one-shot Flash Pass at Six Flags attraction park has left me very unhappy. I hope that the park takes customer feedback seriously and addresses these issues to ensure a more transparent and satisfactory experience for future visitors.

Coaster heaven

By Tony L |

I visited from Las Vegas as Six Flags Magic Mountain has been on my bucket list for many years. Although food is not allowed in the park you can bring a water bottle and refill it for free at the water fountains. I visited on a Sunday during the day (park closes at 5pm for Fright Fest event). The park was not busy and most of the time you got to the front of the queue within 10 minutes. The queue time on the app worked well. I like that you can take a small bag with you and leave it by the ride in the bins provided. I enjoyed all the rides I wanted to experience in 4 hours. X2 was my first experience of a 4D coaster and lived up to its name! The all you can drink deal for $10 was great value and worth it on such a hot day in September. SUPERMAN: Escape From Krypton was not open on my visit.

THE BEST SIX FLAGS OF THEM ALL

By Joseph M |

It's so amazing the rides, food, and literally everything 😍 My only issue is the long waits, and everything is overpriced, but that is kind of expected

Off season fun.

By Amanda Fechner |

Go on the off season. I was able to walk onto most all rides without a wait and the park was clean (esp the bathrooms). Fright Fest was also a neat experience.

Perfect in so many wys

Our hotel was the perfect walking distance. It was 15-20 min walk and no waiting in lines or paying for parking.
The hotel was perfect, beds were awesome , room was clean and quiet

Giant waste of time and money

By Mopar05 |

Our grandsons are visiting from Texas, we decided to take a trip to Six Flags, what a mistake. The park and the staff have definitely gone downhill. We bought the front of the park parking pass however it took us 30 minutes to park, 4 lines trying to merge in to one through the regular parking lot. One poor kid trying to direct traffic he was overwhelmed but doing his best. You could easily divert traffic into the lot after the parking kiosk instead of making everyone go to the regular lot. Once inside we discovered 11 rides were closed WTH? My 8 year old daredevil grandson is about 49 inches tall so not tall enough for all the rides. Most of the ones he could ride were closed. My daughter bought the unlimited refill cups, total waste of money we saw one refill station open in the entire park. the lines for the food vendors were so long it took a minimum of 20 minutes to get a refill. So many of the food vendors were closed it was crazy. It was 90+ degrees the day we visited and both water rides were closed. The people working there are very rude and have poor customer service skills, the few employees that smiled and greeted you were A BREATH OF FRESH AIR. I had read several negative reviews, but I thought how bad can it really be? I found out. If I could have gotten a refund, I would have left within the first hour. I wish we would have saved our money and just went to the beach. The money spent for a family of 6 plus 50.00 for parking we could have spent a really nice day at the beach.
I will not recommend Six Flags to any family. We kept talking about families with kids that save for a trip only to be disappointed when they get there and so many rides are closed. It is no wonder Six Flags is offering so many deals I am sure people that live in So Cal know better, wish we would have known better. Never again!

Some of the best coasters around

By Tony D |

Magic Mountain has always been a favorite amusement park. The lines can get long, and it does get hot, but the thrills are hard to compete with. It is still reasonably priced compared to Disneyland, but not really a place to take little kids or those with heart conditions. If you like thrill rides, you will definitely want to check it out. Avoid peak tourist times if possible. If you must go during high travel times, then the Flash Pass may be a worthwhile investment. It is an expensive addition, but if you only have one day to cram everything in, it will save you a bunch of time.

Do Not Buy the Meal Offer

By Yvonne F |

Do not buy the meal ticket you will be sorely disappointed...many restrictions and they do not come thru with what they offer on the card for ex. The cup you will never receive the cup that is offered and their employees do a very poor job explaining why it is you will not receive an offer that is actually written in black and white...I am warning you do not buy the meal offer

Great park but employees seemed dead (besides Michael and Amari)

By Marco Cassar |

Six flags has a great park and some amazing roller coasters but the only thing it is lacking is that the workers don’t seem to enjoy their job as well as the fact that some were very unenthusiastic and did not help to create a good fun atmosphere. Although, there were a few great people that made the experience awesome, one of them was Amari; he deserves a raise due to the fact that he actually had a personality and made our day brighter. It honestly seemed like most of the people had a very dead reaction to anything, they could at least have tried to instill there voice with emotion. Overall, despite the fact that I seemed very annoyed with the emotional impassivity, for the price of $70 it is a great park.

Good for coasters

By Jsand8217 |

My son is a roller coaster enthusiast and really wanted to go. He loved it. As an adult who is now sadly sensitive to the movement, it was fair. We had gone about 10 months ago and it did seem cleaner in the park itself and the food service was better. Some ride ops were better than others. Parking lot was covered in trash when we left but I guess that's not the park's fault. Ride upkeep (theming/repainting etc.) could definitely be better, but if your main concern is for lots of coasters and intense rides, it's a good fit. My son got the flash pass which seemed worth it as lines were long.

Lacking on magic these days.

By RPCyclone |

Once one of America’s great amusement parks, this place is falling fast. Visited for two days. The park was filthy, especially in the queues. Looked like they hadn’t been swept or cleaned in weeks or more. 5 roller coasters closed, another 5 running one train with super slow-moving lines. The racing Colossus does not race. Many other rides closed too. Staff acted like they just wanted to GTFO. Very hot, no fans in queues. The place is going down the drain. Not so magic anymore. If this is what a Six Flags Day is, I don’t want it!

I feel like I was in a car accident

By Amy B |

I remember liking the rides at magic mountain from when I was a teen, but my 13-year-old daughter and I, both lovers of roller coaster prior to our visit here, had such an awful experience. First, the ride we wanted to go on first (super man) was closed (several coasters were closed - at least 4) so we went on the closest ride, which was gold rusher. It was so bumpy and rough and not fun at all. Then we went on this spinning swing rode called crazanity. Well that was a terrible idea. Both of us got really bad motion sickness. We both felt awful. We went on Wonder Woman and Batman but couldn’t enjoy them because we just felt so sick. I remember just waiting for the ride to be over. I then bought some Dramamine for $19! Madness. And it helped, but just barely. We sat for awhile then we went on drop of doom (I love drop rides and was so excited about this ride). Well it was disappointing. It just goes to the top, does 1 drop and then you’re done. I expected it to go up and down a few times. But we both still felt ill, so part of me was happy it didn’t keep going. After that we took a break from rides because we just weren’t feeling good and couldn’t enjoy anything. We got some food hoping that would help. It didn’t. After an hour and a half I felt a little better, but still not 100%, and we went on another roller coaster. It was ok at first then it was just so bumpy and intense, just like the others. After that we sat again for awhile longer then went on a roller coaster called X2. WORST RIDE EVER!!! It thrashes you all over the place! It was slamming my legs all around. It hurt and was just terrible! After that we were like, ok that was terrible, but we can try a different one, hopefully it will be good. It’s bad when I’m in line just thinking “please be fun.” It wasn’t. Thrashed every which way and the shoulder straps were so stupidly placed that my head kept on being hit against them. We got off and were both like, ok I’m done, let’s leave. We went on 1 more ride that was NOT a roller coaster, called Justice League something, and it was SO fun! But that’s pathetic. 6 hour drive through desert and hills of vast ugliness and nothingness with the expectation of a fun time, but not only were the roller coasters and rides just way too extreme, but they hurt me physically! Today I woke up with head neck and back pain and it just got worse and worse as the day went on. I feel like I was in a car accident or something! I’m just so mad that I spent so much money and drove so far, missed work, and put the wear and tear on my car, for terrible rides, nausea, and pain! I’m baffled that there are people who enjoy that. Discovery kingdom has way better rides. Roller coasters should have exciting drops and turns, but not incredibly rough. And there’s a point where the drops and turns are past the safe fun point and into the injury-causing realm. Magic mountain roller coasters are painful, unsafe, and not fun.

Amazing Experience would recommend!

By Arlette R |

It was amazing if you go, go early i got to get on about 7 rides throughout the whole day. It feels like it's even better than when it was open to all the public! Love the idea of having reservations and I spent it amazing with my cousins and boyfriend. I've went ahead and made reservations for different months already! Love the cardio too since the shuttle isn't working haha! Don't recommend to bring young children if they're lazy walkers!

AVOID (rides poorly maintained)

By Jason |

AVOID! six flags has really gone downhill. We visited on Friday aug 25 2023. Half, literally half the rides were closed. Half, of the food vendors were closed. The pricing is some of the most outrageous price gauging I've seen. 15 dollars for cold garlic fries. Park employees look demoralized, they're rude and checked out. Little effort given to shade customers from the sun , Santa Clarita is very hot, exponentially so with all the pavement, beware! We were in a group of six and a couple folks were plant based, all restaurants with plant based options were closed, not even a veggie burger for these folks. Appalled at how poorly this park is operated vs the experience we had at Disney and universal the days prior. Six flags cares about their shareholders, not the customer or employee experience. SKIP THIS PARK!!! Your wallet and nerves will thank you.

Six yikes

By Ezekiel C |

This park is appalling. Parking started out at a laughable $40, which the majority of the car park was empty, then the ride wait times were nearly double to what was announced. It seemed like it was deliberately planned to increase wait times with only one car going at a time.
The flash pass was absolutely crazily priced per ticket.
The wait times compounded when only the flash pass line got priority on boarding which some times load up three different waves of carts.
Got in three rides after waiting hours for one that broke down(tatsu).
Please. Please. Please. don’t go.
2/10 not worth the expense.

X2 Eats Phones

By Remi S |

Absolutely furious with six flags and the amount of phones they lose on the X2 without any postage or advisory of WHAT the ride does and how easy it is to lose your valuables on it. I lost my phone and waited for two hours after the park closed for them to do a "sweep". While waiting I talked with EIGHT other people who had lost their phone on X2 as well. This is ridiculous. That is far too many people, I assume every day, losing their expensive phones on the same ride with no postage to leave it behind.

Money and time wasted

By IRINA M |

Sadly our expectations have been dropped very low because many rides were having problems and kept closing or you may wait in line not knowing how long. Goliath and 4 other rides we where looking forward to where closed:( I mean it was not work the money we spent for 10 people and the time in lines due to the fact that many rides where closed. I really hate leaving bad reviews but this was great disappointment.

Horrible

By Adriana A |

Visited Six Flags on 7-17-2021 for our summer vacation from Arizona
Park was supposed to be limited crowd control but the park was so packed we had to wait 3 hours for a ride 2 or more hours to buy a water bottle!
If I would have known you were not following what you posted about limited reservations or crowd control in general we would not have visited your park.
We were highly disappointed and felt we paid 6 tickets for nothing!
We will never be back!

A must stop on a vacation weekday.

By Clintbuchinski |

If you’re planning a trip to Disney and have kids 10+ you need to stop here. We went on a Monday (March 18th during spring break) and it was a ghost town. We got on a whopping 17 rides without a fast pass. Spent $300 for 4 people to ride 17 roller coasters. I seen some bad reviews that must apply when the days are crowded because this was one of the best theme park experiences of my life. Clean, friendly staff and world class rides.

Broken Mountain

By Alexander M |

This park is an absolute joke. Half of the rides are broken or out of service. For the other half you have to wait so long that if you're lucky you might be able to ride 3 or 4 rides.
Compared to Europa Park in Germany, this park is like crap.

Horrible experience

By Jesse R |

Horrible experience. Don’t waste your time or money. Very long lines, many broken down rides and trash everywhere. Also, buy tickets ahead of time because they do not list nor advertise the real at the gate. When I complained about this they pointed out where there is a section deep in their website where it says that they can change admission prices at any time without notice. Total scam. Save your time and money, go to any other amusement park but this one.

Overall it was bad

By Leejc223 |

After looking forward to visiting my first six flags I was really disappointed to see how run down the park was, rude the staff were and how little thought had gone into theming.
Queues were not too bad, but no use of every seat and completely inefficient way to run.
Lots of food outlets were closed and found it a genuinely boring day.
Overpriced everything and terrible choices.

Save your money , don't go to 6 flags

By Jeff G |

Park was staffed with a skeleton crew, all indoor venues were closed?
No drink kiosk stands, half the food places closed and long lines for what limited food and drinks places, very poorly placed signs, people often getting confused on where to go. They have 12 ticket stands, but only 1 worker to deal with over 100 people standing in line in the Hot sun. Poorly managed ,

It’s going down

By Mrazzoni3 |

Hi I visited Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia on Memorial Day May 29,2023 with my family and had a terrible day.
I’ve had to deal with issues like:
- not able to receive my season pass unlimited refills drink bottles, your staff ran out of these.
- the flash pass website did not work at all (I pay for flash pass and skip the lines every month)
- extremely long wait times at open dining places(lucky that they were open)
- many rides were defective or closed that day.
- lazy and rude employees all around the park.

FYI,
No staff went out of their way to help eleviate our issues.
We couldn’t get our paid for refills. Adrian, a manager at the funnel cake place at the entrance of the park was extremely rude and disrespectful in making a scene and no providing us with any refills.
I am very dissatisfied with this experience and I am thinking keeping my membership and I see your park, staff, management and technologies crumbling when the park is in high demand and cannot provide paid services that you promise.
I have six diamond elite annual memberships for my family and this is not cheap. What you have shown at Memorial Day is making it known that six flags is changing in a bad way, providing less options thus raising every prices. We are vegan and have felt the cut downs on plant based options all around the park. Johnny Rockets and Belly burger impossible burgers are no longer available.
This is a formal complaint from a committed family, paying member of your park since 2021.
I first submitted this complaint to six flags customer service directly on May 30,2023 and haven’t received any response as of today. So that’s why I’m going online to make this known.

excellent rides

By JT S |

Excellent rides and good food choices. App works great to order food and giving wait time. Easy parking and great shuttle service

Great rides but really long lines

By Nathan Wise |

was super excited to visit Six Flags Magic Mountain since they do have some incredible rides but very aware that the lines are ridiculously long for no reason other than lack of training on how to effectively load and unload rides. As we were waiting in line for Twisted Colossus when it broke down three or four times due to the ride operators goofy off rather than following their procedures. Once the one ride operator left and someone else took over the ride continued to operate normally.

The rides are great and the park is pretty clean but be prepared to wait in lines and watch rides go out half full.

We didn't eat anything on the most recent visit but I was happy to see they did have White Claws. Not my favorite drink but I don't drink wine and beer so there was an option it would go for.

Christmas Eve at magic mountain was a blast!

By il0vehawaii |

Fantastic amusement park! Very friendly environment and employees! Awesome rides! We visited Christmas Eve 2024. Lines were short and moved quickly. Very family friendly crowd and atmosphere! We loved it and cannot wait to go back. Parking was pricey at $30- that always puts a damper on things. Employees everywhere were so finally Ms happy- parking, ticketing, admission gate, ride attendants, housekeeping- just a really nice, friendly, helpful staff!!

The gal running the microphone at the colossus was an absolute doll and her enthusiasm made the ride even more fun! Six flags staff is fantastic and i hope they realize how their great attitude impacts guest’s experiences. Thank you six flags crew!!!

Amazing day for myself and my daughter.

By Jason L |

The Extreme Thrill Rides were amazing and they had the most of any park we visited.
Everything about the park was fantastic with our only complaints being cleanliness, speed, and food quality of some of the quick service restaurants, the cleanliness of some bathrooms. and the difficulty level of activating the Picture Pass.
Otherwise, an overall excellent experience and place to visit.
We visited on a road trip from BC Canada and it was an amazing day.

Disappointing after so many years of wanting to go here

By northernk |

ok, so i'm probably not the current Six Flags Magic Mountain demographic. I've waited for decades to come to this place all because i saw KISS film "KISS meets the Phantom" that was filmed here in 1978 i believe, with the concert in the parking lot. So i finally made it. I was aware this park is known for its roller coasters and extreme rides. That's fine i bought the overpriced Fast Pass and it helped some with lines cutting down on 30 min or more waits on some rides on this Tuesday. Honestly, I'm a fan of Knotts Berry Farm, who have some coasters but also have a theme, and i dunno more happiness lol. This park seemed unhappy and hot and dry and no one working there seemed all that happy either though i get that Valencia tends to get warmer than Buena Park. After a while all the rides seemed the same to me... shake and throw the rider around for a few minutes in attempt to see what they can do. And the new Wonder Woman ride sure looked different with single row seating and a single yellow rail. Best thing on the ride was that it had a sealable poach ( one of two rides here that do) where one can put your phone or sun glasses etc... But, i miss the theme park concept, i know this park concentrates on extreme rides and a teen to 20s audience in my view more than families. The only 'theme' areas really are a sad old west area that is really not done well at all with little real attempt to make it an "experience' and a kids ares with looney tune themes which is probably the best attempt but not kept up. Everything here is over priced especially the fast pass, and drinks. Food is not original or interesting here. I waited till leaving to eat, which works better with the extreme rides anyway, but sometimes you want a break up from those and personally i still like the olde style wooden coasters for which this is NOT the park. In any case this was more of an endurance contest to get through all the roller coasters and extreme rides with little relaxation. There is nothing here to bring me back once those have been experienced. Even Cedar Point which prides itself on coasters has more theme than this park. So did i want to like it yes, but sadly no. Also, i always liked the Magic Mountain name but they seem disinterested in it, hard to find anything in park with that name, and even Six Flags name is decreasing apparently they have put everything into the DC comics idea.

Give it a go

By PennerTravels |

I'm torn with this as I'd always wanted to go to Magic Mountain being from the U.K since being a kid.

The park itself is worth it, the rides are excellent and Goliath was a classic to ride. some of the other rides really exceeded expectations as well.

However the park let itself down in several ways that personally took a bit of shine off it for me.

$40 for parking when one ticket cost $60

Food was so poor and so expensive! We had a mac & cheese dish and corn dog. I'd have been better eating nothing to be honest. It cost $20 for the corn dog/fries and coke - same as the other dish. Huge let down - go to Oktoberfest instead something we wished we had done. The churro as well was so bland and the cleanliness of some equipment was awful.

Also several rides were shut for the day which I assume is due to the park being quieter than usual or expected. I don't know it felt half closed in some places. Some of these were the less extreme rides as well which would have been fun to go on and a nice change of pace compared to the extreme rides.

The park is worth going to for the rides and experience - just don't eat if you can help it!

My son enjoyed but I did not.

By S F |

Excellent rides but some pretty poor aspects: the app - not easy to use; lack of staff present; the map doesn’t have a key or “you are here” notation.

Perfect for Thrill Seekers!

By Hannah T |

Despite being nervous about the rides, when you just went with it, it was actually a lot of fun! Highlights were Goliath, Scream, West Coast Racers, Full Throttle and X2. Only queued for max 30 minutes and walked straight onto most rides. The fright fest elements were good fun too!

Fun for a day!

By Emmett B |

Both parks are great. Weekdays are obviously the best time to go. If you go to the water park on a hot day, go early to get a shaded seat. And always bring a hat and sunscreen on hot, sunny days with the long lines!

Worst park in the world

By Alain B |

Extremely many technical problems. Untrained staff. Even with flashpas hours long wait. Several main attractions closed. The good roller coasters are aging. I recommend instead of Sux Flags, a visit to universal studio, knoots berry Fatm or Disney. You get more for your money

Non stop thrills!

By Kelly J |

Thrill seekers this is the theme park in LA for you! While it doesn't have the charm of Disney or the incredile 3D effects of Universal, it does have A LOT of intense roller coasters. Unfortunately there were quite a few that were closed during our visit - understandable though because crowds were so minimal we practically walked on to every ride. There also didn't appear to be many food outlets or shops open - again this was likely due to the lack of visitors - I think we were the only people seated and having lunch at about 11:45am on the day of our visit. We took an Uber from our Hollywood Hotel which was about $35 each way, public transport from LA looked too complicated for us. I probably wouldn't recommend this park to families with children. There really is only one all ages ride and perhaps the childrens ride area which just had a few basic fun park rides that they might want to go on

Completely unorganized staff members, horrible first time experience!!

By Gypsy S |

We bought season passes with seasonal parking and added on the premium dining. We had never been there as a family and did not know how it all worked. Once we got in, we realized we wanted the Flash passes, to save time. We paid the extra $800 for 4 people for the season. However, the first lady at member services was NOT helpful, she had an attitude from the very beginning. She told me I needed to refund my original tickets, and purchase new ones to add the flash pass, and (I) had to do it online from my phone because they DID NOT do it for you. I stood there for 30 minutes trying to get the website to work and was having no luck when I finally asked someone else who seemed more friendly. Amanda was her name, she said it would be no problem and let me use the laptop for customers to fix my order. I did not have to refund and repurchase, I just added them to my current account. It was super easy and I was done in 15 minutes. She told me she was adding the flash passes to our seasonal passes and they were ready to go and I would just show them to the person at the ride. However, she must have been new. That is NOT how the flash passes work! It wasn't until we got booted out of 3 lines because we did not have a QR code. NO ONE bothered to tell us how to use these passes. $800 bucks, and 4 hours later we still didn't have a clue. Our dining passes didn't work either! For full review, see 6Flags site.

Worst theme park experience ever

By Math |

I’d been waiting 20 years to come to this park... And compared to all the parks I’ve visited in North America, Asia and Europe, this is one is a scam. A BIG disappointment.
There’s only one car running on most of the roller coasters when there could be three. Their goal is to slow the ride down to a minimum with long wait times to make people buy a fastpass.
The wait lines for most rides are usually 90+ minutes, When the rides are functioning! At some point, 5 rides were closed (see the screenshot).
customer service expressly stated they won’t compensate for these issues. (of course). If you’re waiting 1:30hr for a ride and it breaks down, they won’t give you a fast pass for later.
Also, the place is run down. It looks miserable : decors are inexistant or falling apart, colors are faded and there’s cracks or missing pieces everywhere.
During Christmas break, I expected a “magical” experience. After 8h in the park, we managed to ride only 4 roller coasters.

Horrible customer service, some rude employees, park not very clean.

By ChristinaLouisePhoto |

I grew up going to Magic Mountain as a kid, and now that I live out of state I have brought my own children ever since they were old enough to go on the smaller roller coasters. This year for spring break we brought our now teen sons and three of their friends and bought season passes for everyone except my 6-year-old because we mistakenly thought with our season passes he got a Jr. pass. When we realized our mistake at the gate, we asked for a season pass for him and they sold us a day pass. We didn't know this until we went all the way in and they told us no, that's a day pass--which we did NOT want because we had planned to go for 2 or more days during the week. So on the 2nd day, we again went to the ticket booth upfront and specifically told them we wanted a season pass for our 6-year-old. We even told them about the prior day's mishap. They apologized, and then sold us yet another day pass!!! We saw the signs in the parks saying to upgrade your day ticket to a season pass, so we decided to just go and do that. The customer relations people told us that was not possible since we had already come inside using that day ticket. Well, DUH. We bought it at the gate so that we could... you know... GO INSIDE THE PARK. Holy moly, the customer service here was seriously lacking. We were told that if we wanted our son's ticket to be upgraded to a season pass we would have to just buy a full-priced season pass in addition to the day pass we were sold, even though we had specified we wanted a season pass right from the beginning.
Another issue we had was with the $39.99 dining pass we bought with our season pass. I only bought one of the 4-meal dining passes for the teens to use. When my son took it to a walk-up service restaurant and tried to use it he was told it had already been redeemed. What the hell?! We bought it online just two days before driving from Oregon to CA for this trip. There was NO WAY the dining pass had been used already, but they told us there was "nothing we can do". So not only did I get ripped off with the season pass snafu at the gates, but they ripped me off for the $40 I paid for a dining card that magically became "redeemed" before my teen tried to even use it.
When I was younger I can't recall Magic Mountain park ever looking as dirty and run down as it does these days, and I can't remember a time when my parents couldn't get help from a friendly employee. Back then if we wanted a second day we could buy "Twickets" and pay just a few dollars for next-day admission for the whole family. Things sure have changed, and not for the better, but that doesn't seem to be a concern for whoever is running this place now.
All this said, at least our teens still had a good time. The coasters were great and they got to ride everything they wanted except for X2, which was a 4 hour wait.
Magic Mountain, please do better. We don't get to come as often and there were too many problems with this visit for the price we paid to be there.

Not worth the effort if this is how you will be treated.

By Thana S |

Extremely unprofessional and unhelpful staff.

I lost my phone and spent the holiday going back and forth between guest relations and lost and found because they don't have a proper system in place. I went on 4 rides in total because the rest of the day we were chasing the staff.

I told them I know the exact location of the phone and I can track it with my watch or someone can take the watch and get it for me and they still refused to cooperate even though I told them I will not be able to work or even access my laptop without my phone.

Everyday I call them and I try to tell them the exact location and I get the same response " If we find it we find it and if we don't we don't, we are not gonna track every phone"

so my 900$ is just hanging there for 3 days because they wouldn't do just a little effort to retrieve it.

MY NEIGHBORHOOD HAS MORE LIGHTS THAN THIS PLACE

By importedinteriors |

Lots of articles in the Los Angeles Times about the Christmas light show at this park. Supposed to BE A ONE TIME LIFETIME EXPERIENCE. BALONEY. Sure, there were lights on trees and a bunch of kids dancing to Christmas music. THATS IT...FOR 35.00 PER PERSON. Nothing extraordinary, No animatronic
figures, no imagination, lots of buildings that we passed through had no lights at all, and we drove all the way from Riverside to see this disgusting show. What a rip off. Stay home, go around the block to see better Christmas lights.

Not worth it!

By patrick q |

Walked 20 minutes from the parking space to the entrance after paying 30 dollars for parking.
Inside it looks like in the 80ies.
Some of the rides are maybe cool but you need half a day for each one.
The perfect app showed 5 minutes waiting time for Goliath, after all it was 90 minutes.
A park to skip!

Horrible, don't trust

By Jon |

DON'T GO! You can not trust this company. They close the park with no reason whenever they think they will not make as much money they want to. In the morning in the official website it said it would open from 10:30 to 6 so we both the tickets and we rented a car. We went all the way there and surprise! They decided not to open because it was a small rain. What the hell? No thunderstorm at all, just some water! The rest of the day has been great with no water, so all the money and time spent for nothing. I will never come back as I don't trust them anymore, so so disappointed.

Always tons of fun

By EmBentley |

I've been going to Magic Mountain off and on my whole life and always have a great time. I miss some of the old rides they've gotten rid of but also been enjoying the new. I miss Deja Vu, but quite enjoyed West Coast Racers. X2 and Tatsu are my top faves in the park. Twisted Colossus was a new one that I enjoyed but didn't think was worth the long wait time. Highly recommend heading to those three rides early or late in the day to avoid long lines.

Disrespectful to customers! Bad attention!

By Débora H |

Extremely disappointed with this park! Park crowded, almost 30% of the roads closed for renovation, we arrived at the opening of the park are 3pm now and we managed to go in just 1 Russian mountain! We stayed more than an hour in a queue that the attraction broke! The app’s waiting estimate is completely wrong and we are lost with frustrated predictions! Even their own employees cannot predict with greater agility! Those who have the quick passport have priority in the queue and there is no alternation between the queues, which makes the waiting for the regular pass almost endless! We also couldn't buy a beer because they don't accept our RG from Brazil just the passport in hand...But this information was not warned in advance!
We do not accept money, only cardboard and our VISA INFINITY was not accepted in the restaurants! Anyway, a summary of a frustrating day that has not yet ended! Not recommended in any way!!!!!

Season pass no good at gate.

By Dyanna A |

Season passes where purchased at Costco code on card ticket invalid support. Said go to Magic Mountain, they don't do them. Onine called Magic Mountain, they said. Come on down and bring your ticket and we'll fix it for you. Without that code being scanned, there's nothing anybody can do about it, so tickets were Not valid. I had to purchase tickets at the gates since we were already there. Got a third of what I bought for almost the same price Called Costco, they said it did not cover Magic Mountain. Do you see Magic Mountain on the 3 photos below? Look carefully. Very disappointed in Magic Mountain and in Costco's response to this problem. And now for the park, the rides were great. The place is dirty, run down. Landscaping is dead, Didn't get to go to the water park. Because it was an extra $70 per person, which was originally covered under. My season pass from Costco. Parking is a joke. Had to walk A very long ways slide Hill to the front gate. No shuttle service. Water bottles $8 each plus credit card processing fees. No cash accepted in park.

Magic Mountain

By Tourist123 |

If you like roller coasters, this is for you! I love rolller coasters and I really enjoyed this, there are so many amazing rides, which I could say have quite harsh drops…I also want to say that this is not the best place for little ones as there are basically no rides that they can go on, only a few. If you are 1.4 or over you can probably go on all of the rides if you want to! The food was ok, except the pub that I went to there was quite slow at serving. Another great tourist attraction!

It was hot, but rides were great!

By FamilyCW |

A very warm day but the rides were great! There were a few rides that weren't operating but that could be seen on the website before we went. Only one queue indoors was almost unbearable. The food was reasonable. The refillable cup meant there was no shortage of drinks (which were definitely needed). Having been before with younger children, I definitely preferred the experience with older teens!

A must for a Roller Coaster Fan

By Carsten Kjær J |

If you are for Roller Coasters and great fun just forget all about Disney and visit this blazing place just north of LA. Enjoy the biggest loop in the World or try to avoid getting wet when you visit the River rafting - a hint, take the second seat to the left when entering the raft :o)

I decided to move down there because they're open daily

By Dylan Thomas S |

I'm glad they're open daily. In that case, they're only closed for emergencies. I'm glad I decide to move down there because of that, so I can go anytime.

Terrifying experience but great over all

By Enna |

So to start with the new roller coaster X2 is very fun... but also very terrifying. I think that kids under 9 should go because what I experienced was scary as heck. It was the first time I got on that ride and it was 2020 Jan 2, and when the ride was going up as always the ride suddenly stop at the highest point of the ride and was kinda broken down. And all u could see was ur feet on the edge and the whole park. The employees had to come up and press some buttons and hope it worked, it did but the rest of the ride was also terrifying because it swings u like a swing u are looking down and up, sideways and upside down. And to add on the fire department works came at the bottom of the coster. The fear of the ride getting stuck there was horrible and after the ride I was telling them how terrifying it was to get stuck at the highest point. But the rest of the parks roller coasters were very safe. Plus the twisted colossus was great and so is the viper, and Goliath. The people did a great job of the park. I would give it a 5 star review!

AMAZING PARK

By Edgar A |

AMAZING, the park is awesome with a good range of rides. The roller coasters are absolutely fantastic

Ride based park that requires A LOT of attention!

By MooshLA |

In summary, I'll list as follows:

THE GOOD:
*High energy exhilarating rides
*Good season pass pricing whether as a membership or single payment
*Great variety of roller coaster
*Open all year which is terrific because the summer lines are unreal.

THE NEEDS ATTENTION:
*The lines are unacceptable - way too long and often in very hot conditions. People can wait 90+ minutes on average for most rides.
*Their fast pass options are over priced and therefore underused which causes even longer lines.
*They must go through so much cooking oil as most foods they serve are fried. No thanks.
*No Starbucks or coffee presence - and trust me you need something like that at this location.
*The employees are really young and not very invested in their p/t jobs. The issue is that they're operating some pretty intense rides so it makes me wonder.
*The upkeep of the park is one of the worst - its dirty and in desperate need of maintenance checks. I was just on the Viper (from 1990) and the car in front kept making a scary clicking noise on the ascent and I looked over and a major section of the fiberglass was broken off with something metal dragging. Umm thats a bit scary. Nobody seems to care about the equipment or how things rung. SO SCARY!
*The parking lot is a joke. They make you park far away and have unsuitable access to the park (ie one really old and slow coach bus that connects some parking spots) or walk the distance to the entrance.

OVERALL SUMMARY:
Not sure who currently owns the park however they really need to invest in it - and not just buy purchasing new off the shelf rides - they need to train staff properly, pay a decent wage so engaged people are interested in working there and invest in the infrastructure (ie upgrade bathrooms, dining options, park cleanliness). Disneyland should be their goal with just a different selection of rides obviously, They can do it - if they want because god knows they're making bank every day and if they aren't, they need a new chairman who can easily figure this all out.

Worst day at six flags after 20 years

By Bibian A |

Such a horrible experience, I grew up with a season pass for the last 20 years. I continued the tradition and as an adult continued to purchase the pass/membership for my entire family. I moved to Arizona and continued to pay because I love it so much, This was probably the worst experience in 20 years I can remember.

Rides- we arrived at 10 am, ran to X2 as soon as gates opened at 10:20 and were the first to ride at 10:43- we thought we were gonna have a great day, went to roaring rapids 0 wait AMAZING. Crossed over to Tatsu and this is where it began, we got to the line at 11:15 ish, there was only one train operating, a million fast pass people and broke down twice. At first I thought maybe they didn’t have enough staffing to operate 2 trains but when we finally made it to the top at 1:54 we counted a total of 9 employees, 7 at the top and 2 at the bottom of the stairs controlling traffic. 3 of the 7 were on their phones joking around and not necessarily helping. Right before we boarded 2 times in a row they placed fast pass people in our aisle. Cool no big deal, I understand, we finally made it out of there at 2:10. - almost 3 hours later. We move over to west coast racers, literally could copy and paste what it wrote for tatsu. We were there u til about 4:50 they were operating 3 vehicles which was nice but in between breakdowns and fast pass we were there for a little over 2 hours. Check collosus ( on the app which by the way is never accurate) and it says 60 minutes so we headed there next. Got in line at exactly 5:15- ride broke down 2 times, at around 6:45 my kids are getting upset because we have maze wristbands and they really want to go, again over 9 employees standing around in which maybe 4 were actually working. We finally make it to the boarding lanes at 8:10 and it was 8 of us so we split up we just wanted to get out of there we didn’t care about being on the same train, 6 of us got to enjoy the ride my husband and daughter DID NOT after 3 hours the ride broke down again, waited 15 minutes and decided we couldn’t commit anymore time to that.

Food- because we were stuck I. Line majority of our day and having only rode 5 rides and 4 for 2 from our party we had no time to eat. We head to Johnny rockets at 8:40 ish get in line with maybe 12 families ahead of us and we didn’t get to order until 9:45 we ate as fast as we could and headed to the mazes. I watched one poor cashier in window number 8 during this time maybe help 9 of those 12 groups while the person in window 5 struggled and continued to look for help with every transaction ( please do better in training your employees as this HAS GOT TO BE super frustrating for them as well)

Mazes- boy oh boy 😭 after the entire day being a s*** show my kids were super excited, right across the way from Johnny rockets there was the SAW maze, they got In Line as soon as we were done eating maybe 10 at the latest, only my 3 kids and husband ( I don’t like mazes) we paid 160 dollars for the 4 wristbands they made it through the line and out at 11:47- again almost 2 hours to walk through a maze it seems insane to me. At this point we came to realize there is no way they will get to see all the mazes so we gave them options and they really wanted to go to conjouring, so we ran there because the park closed at 1 only to be told the line is about 2.5 hours long. We wouldn’t get out of there until 2:30 there was just no way. we paid 160 for 1 maze CRAZY

Needless to say, my family and I will be having a conversation about the actual value of holding these passes… we drove
from arizona friday morning, booked a hotel for 2 nights, purchases 160 dollar wristbands to ride 4-5 rides and walk 1 maze, spent a ton of money on food, and am now getting ready to drive back to arizona.

waste of a weekend.

Roller coaster heaven

By jonathantakel |

If you want thrills on a roller coaster, this is the place. Ride after ride of fantastic fun awaits you. Fast, fun and stomach churning joy.

Very fun rides, awful management and staff

By Buckeye Nation2 |

Pros: Lots of fantastic rides, nice entrance, solid food, and fit for all ages.
Cons: Gloomy staff, awful management of the rides and park, rides kept breaking down (which prevented me from riding on all the roller coasters), I could not use my flash pass for the crowded coasters, and the lines were very crowded because the park was running ONE TRAIN on most of their roller coasters.
Summary: If you are in the area, I recommend you visit, but it is not worth the trip if you are out of the way.

Lousy Six Flags

By JHurst2014 |

I took my 13 year old son and his best friend to six flags recently. After riding one of the rides, three different employees falsely accused my son of saying racist slurs. My son didn’t say anything to anyone there. He was wearing a Trump t-shirt though. It was a good thing I was there as we had to go to the security office and cut our day short. Don’t give your hard earned money to Six Flags. You have to wear a mask in the heat and your child may also experience reverse racism like mine did.

Nothing to ride - hardly anything was open

By Tom C |

There's no point in even coming here anymore. I dropped roughly $170 ($210 with the $40 general parking price) and literally only 6 thrill rides were open: X2, Apocalypse, West Coast Racers, Full Throttle, Lex Luther's Drop of Doom, and Crazanity. Literally everything else was closed, including the new Wonder Woman ride. We ended up leaving around 1pm after getting there at 10:30. Absolute waste of money and of course, no way to get a refund. There's a reason why Six Flags' stock has been plummeting. Do not come here - go to Disneyland or Knott's instead, it's a better value.

Awesomeeeee Rollercoasters

By Vicente A |

If you love rollercoasters, this is the place!, I went there on Tuesday on october, It was perfect because there were no time wait, I had the time to go to all the rides, you have Superman, Golitah, Batman, The Riddle, X2, tatsu, I did 12, even the old one that is made of wood, has been updated.

This park doesn´t have 3D rides like universal, it only has one of Justice League, be aware of that. If you love rollercoasters you must go.
Don´t really recommend it for chilidren, unless they like the thrill of this rides, it has a couple of rides for kids, but only a couple.

Even for an off season haunt six flags can’t keep up with the competition

By Jeremiah L |

Scream break is absolutely terrible. The saw maze is a joke. If I wanted to look at plywood, I’d just go to Home Depot. Don’t waste your time or money

Fantastic

By Prasik |

I’m a frequent flier at Six Flags. Fantastic rides, the food is pretty good for an amusement park, the staff is pleasant... there’s not enough space to go over everything I love. The lines can be rough. I’d recommend going on a weekday.

Great coasters, but some are quite worn and shaky

By Henrik L |

Wow, this is a park with a lot of coasters, and large ones. Certainly worthy of the name coaster capital of the world. However, it seems that quantity comes for quality for some of them, for example Viper and Batman are in bad shape and I would recommend avoiding them. My son hurt his head on Viper when it was tossed between the safety bars and after riding batman he said "I won't risk my life in that one again". This from someone who otherwise rides everything without any fear.

They can learn a little from Disney and Universal when it comes to the details, such as filling up all available spaces with singles or doubles in each train and quick on/off-boarding. For some attractions it works quite well, but others have room for improvement.

We had all-day dining and were dissapointed that restaurants and refill spots didn't open and close with the park, but opened later and closed earlier. It could be up to an hour after park open until we could get our first snack/ice cream, which then pushed our lunch to later than we would have wanted as you can only get one each 90 minutes.

They also don't have self-service refill stations, so you need to stand in line each time. The Universal way with a chip and self-service stations would be an improvement. Selection of drinks is quite limited, 5-7 different instead of the 100+ you get in the Universal studios self-service refill stations. Overall good value still though.

Some tips:
* Check a crowd calendar and choose your day of visit with care. We visited a day with 15% attendance and there were virtually no lines.
* West coast racers is a smooth ride, if you're into that type of ride, don't miss it!
* The DC shooter is great for the whole family.
* Tatsu seems to be the one that draws long lines, so keep a lookout for good opportunities. Even with 15% park attendance the line was 45 - 60 mins.
* Go counter-clockwise and start with the DC land if you can. Most people seem to go the other way around and you can beat the crowds if you do the opposite.
* If you have all-day dining / drink refills, note that you won't get a bracelet. If you don't want to have your phone with your when riding, printing the bar code could be useful.
* The pineapple ice cream near Goliath are great, especially if you have the all-day dining.
* Opening hours are only 10:30 - 18 (longer on weekends, but bigger crowds then as well I guess). That's pretty short and if you want to try everything you'll be pressed for time even on a virtually empty park. Plan for more days if needed. Compared to for example Disney's 08 - 00 opening hours this seems unneccesarily short.

Great Fun

By Gus B |

A great place to enjoy many of the world's best thrill rides. Overall a great experience. The park is clean and very well managed to ensure a safe but exciting time.

Horrible experience

By RoyaMD |

Completely booked the park and even with a very expensive up grade “flash pass” we only rode 3 rides in 5 hours! Thankfully we didn’t purchase their BOGUS meal plans with unlimited drinks for $35. We waited 2 hours in line to get dinner!

Their membership is awful, a waste of money and very difficult to cancel.

By Roy G |

Six Flags has the worst membership cancellation procedure I have ever encountered. They hide the fact that the membership will continue after the first year unless cancelled and then provide little guidance on how to cancel once they lock you in. Everything is done online on separate websites requiring the entry of long URL's. There are no humans to help in the process, and that is by design. Magic Mountain saves money extracts money by wasting the customer's time. It will be a long time before I do business with Magic Mountain again, if ever.

Never again.

By Ashley M |

This place is dirty and terribly run. Their fast passes are outrageously priced for basically nothing. Their quoted ride times are consistently way longer than stated. Everything about this place just sucks. I ordered just drinks for my kids from Johnny Rockets and the line to pick up a mobile order was over an hour. I just don’t think this could be worse, if they tried.

Don't Mobile Order

By Dan G |

You have to still wait in line after your order is ready. Ours has been 33 minutes at this point. Also Integration of our Flash pass discount wasn't possible with mobile ordering.

Excellent time but frustrated with closed rides and horrible lines to get in

By dano9258 |

We went as a family for two days and had a great time. However, there a few areas this park needs a lot of work.
1) There is a long walk to parking, so be ready
2) They need to work on making pass scanning a quicker process. Lines were horrible to get in with no control over where the lines actually were or people jumping line.
3) Some rides were just closed with no reason.

I'm glad I live 25 min away

By jojo p |

I've been to six flags since I was a kid and now that I have kids of my own I got the membership for us and we enjoy all the perks that come with having a membership. I was here all summer long enjoying the fresh clean water at hurricane harbor and now that Halloween is approaching I can't wait to go here tonight to enjoy fright fest and for Christmas season they also decorate so beautiful.

Excellent roller coasters

By Rachel M |

Fantastic park if you like roller coasters. Lots of choice and variety for real thrill seekers. Hardly any queues. Food was pricey, but a good selection. Unlike other parks you can stay on from the day for the Halloween events, making it much better value.

A Guide to Six Flags from a Ride Junkie

By Jules |

EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT! All you need to know about Six Flags' Magic Mountain!

Table of Contents:
- Season Pass vs Daily Tickets
- Ride Reviews
- Fright Fest: Worth It?
- Misc: Tips and Tricks (Save Time + Money!)

------------Season Pass or Nah?--------
If you plan on visiting Six Flags at least 2 times during a year, a season pass is well worth your money due to the benefits including: unlimited visits to the park (up to $93/visit ), free parking ($30/car), and Bring a Friend Free days. Additionally, you can visit ANY Six Flags park in the world for free.

Fortunately, I was able to scoop my Six Flags Season Pass during their Labor Day sale for $58+tax (70% off!). Benefits includes: upgrade to Gold Season Pass, free ride picture, free skip the line pass, admission to rest of 2019 and all of 2020. I recommend purchasing your season passes near Labor Day since that's when the discounts are largest and upgrades are available.

Memberships are slightly more expensive and offer more discounts for food and merchandise. There are different tiers, with increasing levels of discounts. I wouldn't recommend these unless you love repping the Six Flags brand.

------------RIDE REVIEWS------------
MUST-GO:
- Twisted Colossus (5/5)
- X2 (5/5)
- Tatsu (5/5)
- Full Throttle (4/5) - only if the wait is less than an hour though. This ride is like 45 seconds long.
- Apocalypse (4/5)- a really nice wooden coaster
- Crazanity (4/5)

JUST OKAY (not worth a wait over 45 min):
- Goliath (3/5): after the big drop, it's just okay
- Lex Luther (3/5)
- Scream (3/5)
- Viper (3/5)
- The New Revolution (2.5/5)
- Gold Rusher (2.5/5): a kids ride that's more fun in the back
- Justice League (2.5/5) Battle for Metropolis

NOPE (ride only if it's less than 10 min wait):
- Batman the Ride (2/5)
- The Riddler's Revenge (2/5)
- Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth (1/5): barf central.

----------FRIGHT FEST-----------
I went on Fright Fest 2019 and it was pretty freaking good. If you already have a season pass, I do think it's worth it for you to spend an extra $20 to get the experience at least once. The whole park is well decorated and the mazes were fantastically spooky.

----------MISCELLANEOUS----------

LOCKERS: Luckily, they are pretty lax on this policy regardless of the signs. The only time I needed to purchase a locker was on X2. Otherwise, every other ride allows you to stash your items on the side. Save your dollar bills and don't purchase an all day locker pass. It's not worth it!

START ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE PARK. There's two reasons for this. (1) All the best rides are on the left side (2) the walking experience is better. If you start on the right side, you'll be faced with a very hefty uphill that's very tiring to get through.

If you do follow my advice, head straight for X2 because this is the first ride that reaches a 1-2 hour wait time regardless of whether it's off season or not. Next, I'd go to Tatsu which is right next door.

Outrageously long lines for food/drinks.

By Shawn O |

The lines for drinks and/or food are beyond word. Such a cluster. 80 minutes and counting. Gotta be some way to get this together more efficiently, no?

Paradise for thrill seekers

By Sarah T |

We went to 4 different theme parks in LA and this was the most thrilling by a long way. Thrill seekers paradise - but not much else! Lots of extreme roller coasters, even the “more gentle” rides were more thrilling than the biggest roller coasters in most theme parks. Generally it was clean and felt safe on the rides. If you don’t like thrill rides, don’t go. Not much atmosphere or story telling like at Disney or universal - it is just about the thrill rides.

Not Disabeled Friendly!

By Wendy H |

Kids enjoyed themselves for sure. Don't recommend for folks who are mobility impaired. I completed the accessibility card application online and brought the card with me. I was surprised that the walk from the disabled parking to the accessibility booth was a half mile! I was the first in line and between getting the piece of paper that allows me to get on rides every 45 mins to getting a scooter, we were there for nearly an hour! The website that tells you where to enter rides was not up to date, so that was frustrating. Employees are definitely NOT trained on accessibility issues. Examples, there was zero line in the log ride, I enter the exit as indicated and then the employee asked me for my paper. I explained to her that I left it with my family not riding because this was a water ride and I didn't want to get the paper wet. She also had no idea where I should park my scooter. Another example was on the Lex Luther drop, they made me go through the zigzag and I got stuck several places because it is not meant for scooters. Then they loaded my family and didn't know what to do with my scooter. Everyone was waiting on me so I just went to the exit and didn't ride. I also had issues on the racers because garbage cans holding the doors open block the way for the scooter and the lift is too small for the Six Flags rental scooters.

great fun

By Tony O |

some of the best roller coasters I have ever been on, As per usual with theme parks the food\drinks will cost you fortune

Day after Memorial Day

By Jeff |

If you love roller coasters then this is the place for you! There are at least a dozen world class coasters. Buy the gold flash pass so you aren’t stuck in line. We zipped to the front each time. We went the day after Memorial Day, and the place seemed empty, yet there were still long lines for the best rides. You can bring in a small backpack and water bottles. As you get into the coaster there are places on the opposite to put your stuff. Hold onto your hat especially on Scream and Twisted Colossus.

GREAT park but Pack Food Tho !!

By Mitch A |

Six flags is perfect for people who like roller coasters, a grip of themed areas (like the DC universe location), and any kind of games/musical events, and really cool looking Halloween merch. Food f*ckin sucks though, pack lunches if its allowed because its more expensive than fast food but the quality is wayyyy below fast food standards so like…. yikes (Johnny Rockets is just fine though, last i remembered but i didn’t go this time around)

Awful experience, awfully run

By RP |

Absolutely awful experience! Long lines, entered park at 10:30 my kid did not get on his first ride until 1:30. 3 thrill rides were down, 2 shut down shortly after opening and were running on one car. Food lines long only one window open per venue. Unless your going to spend over 240 for a fast past not worth it. And park is filthy.

Great park in the sun

By joep735 |

Great to do this park when it's not so hot. But still very hot with very little shade. X2 is a very special ride in our opinion but its just one of many very good rides. This park is good for all ages not just teenagers and above. Easy to get to from LA and well worth the trip. If you are short of time I would have to advise on the fast pass.

Great coasters, but that’s about it.

By Nathan J |

Six Flags Magic Mountain is known for having 20 world class coasters as of 2022. It has great coasters, but the app is just useless. Food is terrible. Overall Six Flags doesn’t know how to run a theme park but they do make very good roller coasters, which is the best part. I only go for the coasters, not for anything else.

Ejection fro park because cutting

By Robin G |

I've been a member for 6 years. I was just ejected from the park for cutting lines- 1 child stood in line while 3 adult got water... I cancelled my membership. That is insane.

6 flag is terrible

By Ben |

Just went today for my bday. Terrible service, half the rides were closed, $11 online ticket processing fee, and a bunch of little things to ruin the experience.

Flash pass is a joke

By shernandez710 |

Don’t waste your money! The passes were managed on our phone via a website which was very convenient, however, it’s a reservation system, not a traditional fast pass. Yes, the wait times were still shorter than waiting in the general line, but we still had to wait even if there was no one in line at the fast pass because we didn’t have a reservation. The fast pass site allowed us to see the wait times for each ride, but having to coordinate that with the six flags map was very time consuming and caused so much more walking around. The popular rides still had 1-2 hour wait times, we reserved our spot on the site and the countdown begins. During this wait, you’re not allowed to make other reservations without canceling the one you have pending, SO what’s the benefit if I’m still waiting 1-2 hours and can’t get on other rides while my wait is being queued?!

Great fun visit

By Steven W |

Had a wonderful day, friendly welcoming staff from entering the park to staff running the rides. The rides well maintained and most ran during our visit. Discounted ticket as not season so rides easily accessible although not all running. The eight rides we did all worked well and are great fun.

Great morning rides on a Monday with no lines in early March.

By Dave J |

The rides and thrills are incredible at a fair price! Very clean park. 👌 Staff are very friendly and accommodative!

Buyer beware!

By Mark M |

Deceptive business practices. I bought a gold pass a few weeks ago during a promotion, and the add on benefits did not show up as being a monthly fee when I was signing up. Guess what shows up now in bold font when you try to sign up for the pass? They must have gotten a lot of complaints about this very thing.

I didn't even use the benefit when I went there the first time because the park was opening and I didn't want to hold up the line. Now I get the monthly bill, and it's not the $7.50 advertised everywhere, but almost $55. Their customer services reps won't help, and so I'm stuck.

Do not give these people your money. The park isn't worth the price of admission, let alone spending money on parking/fast passes/food.

I wish you all the best, and I hope you don't get deceived like me.

Great Place For Youngsters too!

By Robyn |

I am a seasoned adult of Six Flags Magic Mountain specifically but had never taken my children (girl 6 and boy 3) we had an AMAZING day on a Wednesday in the middle of the summer. Toon town was not busy at all. We never waited more than 5 minutes in any line, they got to ride everything 2x or more and it was an awesome first experience with my kids. Tons of shade there too so the heat wasn't unbearable.

Well organized and fun

By mazlex537 |

I was quite skeptical that I'd have a good time as a mom with a teenager. But I did! I really nice park. There were no lines to enter. It seemed clean and well-staffed. Even the landscaping is nice.
We bought a Flash Pass and were able to ride a good number of rides in a short time. The rides were really fun - especially Crazanity, Tatsu and Full Throttle. The only downside was that a number of rides were closed (a Tuesday) and some rides running only 1 car. But overall, really fun and staff was great.

Blazing hot day with epic thrills!

By James and Ellie’s Adventures |

First of all I’d like to point out some things six flags can do better before I go on with the review.

1. We brought a bottle refill and there was no refill
Machines around like they have at universal Hollywood meaning you have to Q up to 40 minutes like we did in some instances just for a bottle refill. Please bring back the soda machines ASAP!!!!

2. Wait times are not posted at the front of ride attractions which is a huge pain as you have no idea how long you will be queuing for. You have to find a random song located in each area to see wait times! We need to see these at attraction entrances!

3. It’s so hot in Valencia where the park is located and in ride Q’s there are no fans or any fans that spray mist to cool you down on our park day it yesterday (18th July) it was 40°C / 104.5°F where everyone was trying to find some shade. Please install fans in Q’s to cool down guests as we saw a few people being wheel-chaired by security from heat exhaustion during the day!

We had a great day apart from the above, the rides are mental some of the most intense we have ever experienced before and we’ve been too a fair few theme parks to say the least!

Our favourite ride was twisted collosus!

Be warned no cameras on handheld sticks are allowed in the park as we didn’t know this we had to walk a round trip of 20 mins back to our car! Signs are not made clear before heading through security.

Also as they said no food or drink we didn’t bring our own water bottles coolers and wish we did as there is water refill stations around the park for water, so if you are going please bring an empty bottle you’ll need the water and you’ll thank me later trust me!

Some signage outside rides for entrances were not made visible so a few of us exiting the Batman ride ended up at the exit for Wonder Woman and some entrances to other rides are not even sign posted apart from the flash pass queues.

Six flags if you sort these simple issues above this park would be even more amazing for guests!

Wouldn’t visit again until above 3 points are implemented above.

Apart from that we had a great day regardless.

FRAUDULENT CUSTOMER ABUSE

By KBradley |

Warning!!! Do not buy into their so called "memebrship" program. It is consumer abuse and makes it near impossible to "legally" unsubscribe and cancel. They do not answer calls, the resort to sprouting t&cs despite recieving countless emails and calls and even afger doing their online cancellation process (which in most countries would be illegal and they would be shut down).
They have charged $250 every month for 5 months now after multiple attempts to stop it. I wish i read all reviews before ever flying there from australia for my birthday and dropping $3000 for one day to be left with now endless stress. God help someone who dies, becomes disabled or sick or is an elderly person - they would just have to keep paying.
Note they block social media so you cant comment - that says everything about their integrity as a theme park or business in any industry!

They don't know Octoberfest here

By Bobbie J |

Six flags advertises Octoberfest food festival and collects money online for it. When you get there it is just a regular food restaurant. You stand in line for at least an hour and a half. Then, they don't know what to do with your online ticket. Then you walk outside to get your beer and sit in overcrowded Coca-Cola old round tables. One person waits on you, slowly.

Nice but disorganized

By Marco M |

Total disorganization. The attractions are beautiful! The problem is that on the day of our visit at least a dozen were closed (including 3/4 of the most beautiful ones!
Park open from 10.30am to 5pm with queues lasting 60/90 minutes in some cases. Moral of the story, it's impossible to do them all.

Convenient to buy tickets with parking and MEAL dining (possibility of getting a menu every 90 minutes and unlimited drinks).
Waiting time to get food of at least 30 minutes.

After my experience I wouldn't go back.

Good but Slipped a Little

By amusementparkguy1 |

It has been many years since I last did an amusement park trip to California, so a friend and I planned the trip for this summer. I have been to Magic Mountain before and really like the park. However, they have slipped a bit since my last visit.

They have 20 coasters, but five were down on day one of our visit. Three were down on the second day we visited. A couple flat rides were also closed. I understand that management wants guests to be safe, so rides may be closed from time to time for maintenance. It just seemed too many were down at one time.

The rides that were operating were in good condition. Rerides are allowed if there are open seats available.

The park was clean. Employees were friendly enough. Food prices were high as they are at most amusement parks. Food quality was okay.

The park could use a few more flat rides for adults.

Overall, I give both days a grade of B. It is a good park.

Bad experience

By C S |

Firs time going to six flags and had the most worst experience ever. Super long lines. Plus broken down and waited over an hour! We had got stuck. Paid for a fright fest fast pass didn’t even use it. Didn’t hardly see any scary costumes, hardly any people scaring. Only 2 haunted houses maze opened! Some employees were rude. I can say the park was clean. The funnel cake was good. Parking was bad. Plus lost my iPhone no help from customer support. Wait an hour after the parked close to speak to lost and found, NO HELP! Don’t leave your password. Looks like they keep peoples lost items!!!!! Emailed the location of my phone, it has been over 3 weeks. Than my iPhone moved locations.Try calling six flags to speak to anyone and never a answer! I bet someone will reply faster on this review than actually looking for peoples lost items!!!!

Information for plus size riders

By Levi W |

I wanted to leave a review about sizing and fitting on the rides. I thought for sure I was going to do the walk of shame because of my size. I am 5'3" and 250lbs, I wear a 40 DDD and heavy in the middle and thighs.

Rides I didn't get on because they were closed or we skipped was batman, superman, West coast racers, crazanity, apocalypse, drop of doom, little kiddy rides.

Rides I rode was full throttle, Goliath, screaming, tatsu, revolution, riddlers revenge, twisted colossus, x2 and viper. Everything was no problem to get into except twisted colossus it was a tight squeeze, they had to come push me into it. My dad is also a bigger guy and they had to squeeze him in as well on that ride. X2 was also very tight. I was told batman is very very small, so even if it was open I may not have gotten on.

Don’t by flash pass

By Aleksander J |

Fun rides - a few were closed.
But Flash pass - you should really think about your money.

You pay a lot - BUT you don’t skip the lines. They are only shorter - and the best attractions only let you through ones or nothing at all.

Opening hours too short, rides run at low capacity

By joe2007Dorset |

When you visit an amusement park, you expect to have to stand in line for the rides. That’s normal. But when you visit a park which is massive, and home to 19 roller coasters as well as several other rides, you expect that the park owners will at least make it possible for you to get on a fair proration of those rides.

This didn’t seem to be the case at Six Flags Magic Mountain. The day we went, the park was only open 10:30-6, and nearly all the coasters were running at half capacity, thereby doubling the waiting times and making it almost impossible to get on even half of the park’s rides.

Some examples included:

- X2 running only one train out the three trains available, and the ride queue having to close early because, according to the attendant the wait time was 4 hours

- Ninja, again, this I believe can run three trains but was only running one

- Gold Rusher- As above

- Tatsu only running two out of its there’s trains and one side of the loading station closed off, thereby, again, reducing capacity

- Superman only running one out of its two tracks. This ride is advertised as having one forwards track and one backwards track but on the day we visited, the backwards side was closed all day, and it’s not like we saw engineers doing maintenance on it or anything, it was just sitting there dormant

This is just a few examples. There were more. And at least 5 of the park’s 19 coasters were closed all day when we visited, including two in the kids area which, again, we saw no maintenance work being carried out on when we walked past.

I wouldn’t mind so much if it was quiet, but the park was actually pretty busy with many major rides having wait times of 1-2 hours each, sometimes more.

The sad thing is that the park has some good rides, but why make a big deal of cramming 19 coasters in, when nobody is going to get the chance to go on them all? I’d rather visit a park like Knotts Berry Farm which has half the number of coasters but has decent opening hours (9pm closing time on the same day that we visited Magic Mountain) and where you have a decent chance to get on what you want to get on.

We let Magic Mountain feeling like we’d had a less than half experience, despite the fact that the small number of rides which we did manage to get on were all pretty good.

Oh and the information boards advertising ride waiting times were all wildly wrong on the rides we went on, which was also very frustrating.

Avoid, misleading advertising.

By Olivier P |

Beautiful park but no ALL advertised attractions are closed, most employees are high, so they don't really help. If you plan a trip to this park, consider a Disney, Universal or Cedar Fair alternative.

DON'T GO! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

By Eric C |

DON'T GO!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

Hopefully things change soon, but as of this review, less than half their rides are operational, and they won't hesitate to take your money anyway.

This cost us more than a day to Disneyland, and almost all of the rides were down. Several rides broke down while we were in line too. We spent more than 3 hours at the park and didn't ride a single thing.

On top of that, their parking prices are ridiculous and I'd argue predatory. $50 for parking? That's even more than Disneyland! And let's not even start with their fast pass (flash pass?) prices.

Do not waste your money, do not waste your time, do not waste your vacation. Go elsewhere!

Attendants and date experience

By MANDIE G |

My favorite part of my experience was that the lines moved so quickly and the attendants were friendly. The best days to go on, I would have to say, would have to be on Monday-Wednesday because those are the least busiest days.

Crap show

By Ivan S |

Place is run by a bunch of idiots. American cash is no good. If you need some help, each person will pawn you off to another incompetent person. Conflict resolution doesn’t exist. No professionalism whatsoever. Places or managemet like this need to fail to make room for competence. Will not recommend visiting.

A shell of theme park, poorly ran and falling apart

By Go59859523637 |

Run down and horrible customer service. I can see why it was so empty and not full like other nearby theme parks. Many shops closed .. Went to a sit down restaurant named FF ... it probably stands for the flying - f word ..staff was dismissive and down right rude . No greetings or acknowledgement. When we asked about seating..ignored us and started talking to a coworker about his daily life. Manager was also dismissive . Sadly this is the general theme of the park , lack of customer service. The entire park seems to be in disrepair . Holes on the ground. Siding falling apart . Buildings in poor condition. Overall the theme park seemed like a sad place to be.

Awful experience. A scam.

By Amir S |

It was a depressing and at times spooky 40 minute ride/scam. Complete waste of tom time and money. Save your money. DO NOT GO!

Not good

By Megan S |

The park was dirty, not well maintained as far as landscaping or upkeep. Just looked rundown and dingy. Most of the park smelled like a dumpster. The food and drinks inside the park are insanely over priced. We spent over $100 for 4 hot dog meals and they were disgusting and the buns were stale.. should have been thrown out days ago. They had multiple rides shut down and lots of rides with only half operating, which caused long lines and extremely long wait times. My husband and I literally commented several times while at the park how disappointing it was. Not sure we'll be back any time soon if ever. Might spend the extra money to travel to another location just to avoid this one.

redefines thrill!

By gwynethtyt |

Simply spectacular. Makes places like Universal Studios look like child’s play. The quality of the rides are excellent, particularly those labeled “max thrill”. My friends and I beelined for the extreme ones, and were left gasping at every turn.

Each ride has its individual flavour, and own surprise to offer. My personal favourites were X2, Tatsu, Riddler’s Revenge, and Full Throttle, but then again those are the standout ones. I especially like the diversity offered. On some rides we were standing, some we were inverted such that we were in a flying position, and in more others our legs were dangling precariously. On some drops it felt like our souls were leaving our bodies.

We got a one-day meal package (USD$37.99), which allowed us to pick from a limited selection of food for lunch and dinner. The food was mediocre and of course pricey. It did come with unlimited refills of soda, however. I wouldn’t say it was that worth it.

We came on an off-peak day - weekday, first week of March. In the terms of the website we checked (a quick Google search will pull up the predicted crowd level), the park was a “ghost town”. That meant that most eateries and miscellaneous activities were shut, but most rides were functioning as usual. We spent at most 15 minutes queuing for any ride.

Traveller tips: before planning the date of visit, search for the predicted crowd level online. Go onto the official Six Flags website to purchase your tickets and parking, and meal package (if you like) in advance. They also offer discounts for residents in certain parts of California (postal codes 90000 and above), so be sure to enter yours when prompted. Also, they offer lockers at all rides with rental for a dollar, but there’s no need to use them because you can place them at a storage corner beside the rollercoaster.

Love rollercoasters!

By Quest21308287263 |

Love coasters! Get there at opening for short lines. A few hours after opening lines will get long. App is not accurate, would show 5 min wait for hours, but when we went to the ride wait was 60 min+ - look for live update signs around the park and have a look if you're near the ride. Fright night was fun!

So bad. Nothing magic about it at all.

By Jonafun P |

This theme park is badly run. It’s a Saturday but still only running one cart per ride, causing wait times of 150 minutes when the park isn’t even particularly busy. Half the rides are closed too.

If you want people to enjoy their experience and have them return, it should be run better.

Their flash pass makes absolutely no sense and costs a fortune for reserving a place in the queue for the current wait time.

Everything is designed for the bottom line and nothing to enhance customer satisfaction.

Fun but don't expect much

By Rachel B |

This park certainly can claim the thrill capital of the world because of the many really truly awesome roller coasters it offers. We are membership holders and live out of state and love to come five to seven times a year for the last several years. As a roller coaster junkie, this park really offers great rides.
I have been twice in the last month and both times have been lackluster, disappointing, and sometimes not fun. Moreso than the usual substandard service! On busy days, you can guarantee one to two plus hours wait time for most major rides. They're is no attention to single writers or filling seats or efficient loading to help line movement. There is not enough food or drink options in the park. The drink stations are out of ice constantly So you get warm soda and water. The bathrooms are usually dirty. The park is run down and it doesn't look like it's being taken care of. Our second trip we were there on a less crowded day, and most of the rides were down. X2, Apocalypse, Superman, Full Throttle, Revolution, Twisted Colossus, Gold rusher, Crazanity, and Tatsu (which was trying to reopen but couldn't because the mechanics kept getting pulled to other rides) were all out of order at various times through the day, if not most all at the same time. It's absolutely frustrating and unacceptable. On top of all of that, they can't seem to get our dining passes, correct. The rules on how to use said dining passes is not explained. And you find out way too late that all of the restaurants in the back of the park that were actually open park close an hour before the park closes. It makes it extremely difficult to find dinner, a drink, or a snack!
And the back side of the park? Hot and treeless. No shade. At all. Bring an umbrella for shade!
Will we go back? Yes, probably. But I will only choose weekdays when the parks are less crowded so I know I won't have to wait 2 hours for one ride.

This place is amazing!

By Wander14410834524 |

My family and I went to Six Flags on January 1st because it wasn't that packed, and I had a good time! I went to the line for X2, but it was pretty long, so one of my family members saved our spot in line while we queued up for Viper, which had absolutely NO line! When we rode X2, it kind of hurt my leg but it's still my most favorite roller coaster that I've ever rode! I went on Wonder Woman, which was pretty darn rattly, but it's AMAZING! I went on Batman, which was extremely smooth. We then rode Twisted Colossus, and OMG it's so smooth and the airtime is WILD! The food was pretty expensive, because it's a theme park, but we still enjoyed our time here! Sadly, I wasn't able to go on Tatsu, because it sustained a 2+ hour wait throughout the park hours :(

Wow what a park

By John B |

Our 2 grandsons were on their first adult trip to the states so this was a must. We booked for them before leaving the UK and didn't arrive until 1pm, the park shut at 5 so we were afraid they wouldn't get on much. No worries, they got on everything at least once and they said compared to the parks in the UK it was on another level. 2 very happy guys.

It has everything to be a great park, but......

By Alejandro0203 |

It's a shame what happens in this park.
The attractions they have are spectacular and truly extreme.
In other words, it has everything to be a great park but... the attractions are not well signposted, many are out of service and you pay full admission. In 2 cases we were standing in line and they told us that they were cancelled, which meant we lost a lot of time.
All this meant that we couldn't enjoy many games, but when we bought the tickets (full day) we obviously weren't aware of it.
All this added to the fact that it is quite far from the center of Los Angeles, it is a real disappointment.
It won't matter much now and surely the explanations and apologies of the local people, since as a tourist from another country that I am, it is practically impossible for me to return to this park.

DONT GET FLASH PASS PLATNUM

By Richard C |

So we went yesterday to the park. Paid the awesome $260 price times 5 for platinum flash passes. Now we paid for these on line a week or two prior. Set it up on out phones by our selves. first thing that sucked was we waited out 10% to get to the ride. Because you know 90% we get to skip. Come to find out we go in the same line as everyone else and still wait a long time. We noticed on the app some rides would only say a certain number left. We thought it would come back after time. So half way through the day we are on our 7th ride. Yes half way and only 7 rides. Platinum passes. We loved the ride and want to run it again. We go to the app it wont let us. only option is to pay money to go on again. We go to the flash pass services. Dude at the door was like I don't know. go in to talk to a manager, Guy said oh yea those rides you can only do once. Where the heck on the site does it say this. He said an employee would have told you when you set up the pass. We set it up our selves. Now the manager said since we did 7 rides 1 too many he cant refund us. Whole family was upset on this because every other park we went to that week fast passes were easy. this place is not worth that price tag and still wait along time. Oh and half the rides we waited on broke while we were on line as well.

Lots of teen rides, food as you expect at these parks

By Vipulkumar R |

Lots of rides for teens; enough for younger kids. Know that Superman is permanently closed. Also, the app isn’t always accurate about wait times. A season pass if you’re going twice at all or making a 2 day stop but check single day with dining options because those deals are great too and hey sometimes have specials for single days as well. The only thing with this later option is that you will have to pay for parking. Don’t bother paying for premier parking as there is a shuttle to entrance that seems to take 15 min to go around. For food, I didn’t get a dining pass because we were only planning on staying about 6 hrs each day. Dining pass though would be worth it if you’re sharing with someone (no one needs this kind of food every 90 min). I say it’s worth it though because a meal and a snack is generally enough for 2 people. Snack options are decent and include things like choc chip cookie, pretzel, chips and churros, soft serve and some frozen drinks, not icee brand. Also you could just get 2 snacks every 90 min as well. Also, for drinks unless you know you will go to another six flags or come back a third time, just buying the day bottle and paying the $7 the next day to use it again is cheaper than the season bottle. In order to help decide, meals range from $18-20 and snacks from $6-9. So two meals and two snacks run $50-60, dining pass was $45. We like snacks more though and funnel cakes not included, so didn’t do dining pass. Icee is not included in beverages but if you wanted that separate it’s $7.50 for a cup and $12 for a refillable bottle that costs $4 to refill.

Stuck on X2

By Tara W |

Bought the platinum flash pass which was worth every dime. However, our first ride of the day was X2 and we got stuck for an hour! I really feel like it would be common courtesy to offer refunds. Not only was getting stuck terrifying but they did not seem to care one bit. Management? Nope. Someone their letting us know what’s going on? Nope. Medical? Nope. The world is understaffed right now I get that. However, my chest still hurts! It was a great ride until it wasn’t. Pro tip: never put your harness on too tight. Felt like I was going to either faint or have a heart attack and I’m extremely healthy! Wtf six flags? Get more staff or put a little fire under managements butts!

Trauma after being Stuck On a Ride

By TM |

My husband and 9 year old son were stuck on Tatsu for over 45 minutes while I waited. After I had a panic attack wondering where they were, staff on the ride looked at me like I was crazy and wouldn’t tell me what happened. Our son even told my husband “I’m never gonna see mommy again”. It was terrible. Once they got off, we got 2 water bottles and front of line pass to another ride. Didn’t matter since we had Flash Passes. We sent a survey to corporate and attempted to call w no response. So crappy! Never again. We cancelled our memberships. Our home park is at Discovery Kingdom and they have been a disappointment. Not worth it anymore. Don’t do it!

It's not Universal and not worth it.

By paulowilhelm |

The whole place looks like it needs a full overhaul, the metalwork is very dull as are the tracks, which look as if they were last painted 10 years ago. General cleanliness is lacking, chewing gum is everywhere on the floors and flaking paint predominates.

A high number of rides were closed and even more were carrying one car. Staff did nothing to speed the process or to create any sort of excitement while in the queue or on the ride, they really were there just to push buttons.

Revolution was described as a 5 minute wait, it was around 20 due to a single car operation. Viper was 10 minutes, we were on in 10 and it was a great coaster.

West Coast Racers, 20 minute wait described, it closed before we were anywhere near the cars after 1 hour. It carries 24 riders per car, say a minute to load, a minute to ride and a minute to exit... 2 lots of 24 cars every 3 minutes? Does 48 riders every 6 or 7 minutes sound about right? 480 riders per hour? That's never going to happen as none of the staff fill empty spaces or hurry up riders in to their seats.

Superman finally opened at this point although I wasn't aware that he wore pink and pale blue (those were the track colours), Tatsu finally opened as well.

So at 1.30pm we'd managed 2 rides (wasting over an hour at WCR), the whole place lacked any excitement or staff to make a memorable experience, and although we weren't expecting Universal Service, we were expecting to have some guest experience.

It's cheap and now I know why, I wouldn't bother again and spend the extra for Universal!

The only magic here is how they make your money disappear and excel at giving no customer service

By Marmot71 |

This park knowingly oversold the capacity of the park and was then unable to service their customers. They refuse to refund unused meal plan price. What they are doing is criminal, stealing from families and ruining their vacations. NEVER go to this or any other Six Flags unless they change their customer (dis)service.

Now I wait for the disingenuous "sorry your expectations weren't met, but thanks for leaving a review" response. I wonder if I can deposit their apologies into my bank account like an actual act of good faith that would be a refund?

I can't stress enough how awful this organization/company is when it comes to customer care. Stay far away from this park.

Unsafe staff is rude

By Charlie |

There was fighting in the parking lot and standing in line a bunch of teens being very bad. Unsafe for your family!!! Most of the rides were shut down!!! And the staff is very rude and slammed the door on a Yung lady's hand! The staff trys very hard not to help anyone out. Also stood in line for 2 hrs only to give up on reading the ride. They took almost $200 for the parking and two tickets and never got to ride one ride. This place is a rip off and very unsafe!!!!!

2020 Holiday Hell

By Melissa |

2020 Holiday In the Park Drive-thru Experience

Save your money this holiday season and skip this. I bought tickets in advance for my family. They were $20 each, plus a processing fee. We arrived at 8:15 pm and waited 90 minutes to get into the light experience. It then took 45 minutes to drive through the park. After 2 hours and 15 minutes our entire family agreed it was the worst outing we have ever been on.

The wait to get in was too long, the drive through the park was too long, the lights were unimpressive, too spread out and shoddily done. Once you were in line for the park there was no way to leave. And once you were inside the park there was no way to use the restroom, buy a snack or seemingly even get out if you had a crying baby or someone who was having a medical emergency.

personal six flags experience

By noura |

Six Flags is a thrilling and exhilarating amusement park found in the heart of California. With a variety of rides and attractions, it offers a one-of-a-kind experience for of all ages !

California is an exciting place. The park is surrounded by stunning landscapes and unforgettable views of the California coast. The moment you step foot in the park, the sounds of ecstatic laughing and screams from the rollercoasters overwhelm you.

The wait was, in my opinion, the best part about Six Flags. I appreciated the fact that lines, no matter their length, were never long-lasting. The rides were always worth the wait. The thing that stood out the most to me, though, was 'THE RIDDLER's Revenge,' the stand-up roller coaster. It is undoubtedly the best ride. Throughout the entire ride, you are essentially standing up and clinging desperately to the over-the-shoulder harness.

In the end a trip to Six Flags California guarantees a day full of excitement, adrenaline, and lifelong memories. Plenty of rides and attractions are available at this amusement park, catering to both thrill-seekers and those seeking an unforgettable day out. You'll definitely be left wanting more. So gather your loved ones and prepare for an exciting day filled with excitement at Six Flags California.

Fun but long lines for food

By Jessica M |

All in all we had a good time. Currently Six Flags is accepting everyone, no restrictions but you are encouraged to wear a mask if you are not vaccinated. About 15% of people were wearing masks. We purchased the Flash pass to get on rides quickly, $135 for 90% quicker then the line. A bit overpriced but we were able to get on the rides quickly and it was worth it as we were there only 1 day and it was hot. The part that wasn't great was the lines for food, only 1 window open and the wait times were over 30 minutes. If you have a sensitivity to being jostled around I would not recommend the Viper, it was not very smooth. Our favorite ride was West Coast Racers, smooth, fast and lots of fun. Jet Stream was a water ride that only gets you a little bit wet. Roaring Rapids has the chance that you could leave drenched. Have some ibuprofen ready cuz you might be sore afterwards. Enjoy😊

Choose another option

By Dromguz |

Do not pay for a fast pass (flash) neither the photo pass it is a scam standard lanes moving even faster and I only face one photographer in the whole most of attraction do not take pictures. Lack of cleaning in public areas and restrooms. Unfortunately employees at attractions and looks like lazy they could assist people quicker seems not to be motivated. I bought lunch using the application at Katy’s Kettle and honestly poor quality and service. I think I’m being over generous with a two star. Choose another option in L. A. área. Looks like this park has serious administration problem.

Feels semi-abandoned

By Warp929 |

This place needs some serious maintenance. There are broken or decaying parts all over the park. I haven't been there is 15+ years and was surprised to find it still open under what feels like semi-abandoned conditions. Minimal staff everywhere but especially so on rides which causes every aspect to move slowly. If Disneyland is a new Mercedes this is a 1974 Cadillac. The day after Magic Mountain we went to Knott's and, although busier, it was an upgrade in a Six Flags experience.

Chaotic Magic Mountain “adventure”

By Tim B |

I love the coasters here, always have. First time back in over ten years, returned with our 10 year old son to give him the big coaster experience.

The flash pass is a cash grab, $185 for gold passes, the preferred parking is way overpriced at $55, on top of that the entrance fee is $85 online. The rides are disorganized and chaotic. Most of the time there wasn’t anybody at the line to scan the flash pass. Wait times were still over 40 minutes even after waiting for the flash pass to activate for the ride. They don’t scan your passes until after the lockers so you still have to bring your phone on the ride. There is no direction to the rider like you experience at Disney or Universal. There was no mention during my ticket purchase that the park turns to the Halloween event at 7pm so we had to leave with our 10 year old. All in all we got on 7 rides, for a total of $124 per ride for a family of 3 after spending $869 for tickets parking and passes. Everything in our country is turning into a cash grab and this place is no different now. Be cautious and set your expectations before going.

Hot not much shade and no water rides in 92F🥵

By Strings44 |

Great roller coasters but lots not working and lines for food longer than the lines for the rides! 45 mins just to order with one guy serving. Wait time 1.25 just to eat some fries.
Neither water rides were working they opened the flume briefly.
Good for coaster fanatics but basic and really hot and air con and water is sparse. Be prepared to wait in line for hours for food. Disappointed with the experience.

Dirty Park, Long Lines, Broken and Closed Rides, and no one works there.

By David |

Four rides in 6 hours. It was not fun. As a season passholder, I have had better experiences at this park in past years. But this time was really poor.

For starters, the park is dirty with alot of trash near many of the rides. They must be doing bare minimum maintenance these days because the park looks run down. Many of the good rides are closed and the rides that are open have huge lines because they are only running one car. Example - after waiting 2.5 hrs for X2, the ride broke down right as we were about to board.

What's most annoying is that they aren't even trying to make it a good experience. No one updates the "wait time" signs, no one works at the entry to any of the rides, and we never saw anyone cleaning the park. If you want food, you'll have to wait in long lines for that too. The line jumping is bad too. Kids were obnoxious and just hold a place for all their friends.

In summary, its not worth coming to the park unless its completely dead and even those days many of the rides wont even be open. I would give 1 star but we do like the rides - when can you actually ride them.

Great rides, good value

By travellerx |

I went on a Tuesday in August with my two sons, aged 17 and 16. We had a great day out. We arrived at opening time, and managed to get on about 10 rides without upgrading to the VIP "Flash" pass. Mostly the queues were short, with the exception of the X2 and the Apocalypse, which appeared short but were very slow-moving. We bought the all-day eating and drinking package, which was good value on just 3 drinks and one meal. We could have made it even better value if we'd eaten again at the end of the day.

I'd strongly recommend this park, and if you're only interested in rides it looks like really great value compared to other LA parks such as Disney, Universal Studios and Knotts Berry Farm (none of which I have visited!)

Don't become a member. NOT WORTH IT

By Daniela C |

Don't become a member EVER. I've been trying to reserve my visit and it is not available for at least a month. The only way I can assist is if I purchase a 1 day ticket (I'm a gold member, I've been paying for 2 years). They are prioritizing the 1 day tickets instead of their members. I already contacted support and they had no solution. Worse customer service EVER. Canceling my membership NOW.

$40 parking

By davinevine |

Some great roller coasters, but they need to work more on filling single seats. Most rides depart with single seats empty, even though there is a large queue of waiting guests.
Plus their “Flashpass” system is a major disadvantage to all regular ticket holders.
I was charged $40 for parking and $11 internet booking fee.
Looks like management are chasing short term gains with no thought of the long term.
I won’t be returning.

Magic Mountain... Still the Best

By P.J. Thomas |

Still the best park I've ever been to, and I've been to a lot of them. The rides are some of the best in the world, the staff knows what they're doing, and you won't be disappointed if you believe me.

Save your money.

By Rhonda K |

Went on June 7th, 2023. Terrible waste of money and time. Most of the restaurants and food kiosks were closed. Specialty shops were closed. Many of the rides were closed. The go carts cost extra (besides the high admission rate) and the ride was closed. There was one costumed "character" near the front gate. There was absolutely no live entertainment in the entire park except the one employee in the costume. Just another amusement park that used covid 2020 as an excuse to offer half the rides and services while charging pre-covid high admission rates to customers.

Great place to go

By Debbie B |

There is no better Place if you like extreme ride and very nice employees, great food, my husband loved the beer LOL.

Miserable employees not given the tools to succeed

By Lee R |

We were at the park and ordered some burgers for pickup. When we arrived at the pickup window, there was a gentleman in front of us waiting for his food and encouraged us to give our number. Not exactly sure we, we did. It took 20-30 minutes before anyone even came back to the window! When she did, we were told they were backed up and the burgers would be out shortly. All the while, the walk up line was been served burgers. After another 15 minutes, we asked again and were told the same thing!? We asked to speak to a manager, but were told no!! No? This is absurd! No refunds, no manager, no accountability?? Makes us feel like a hostage, more than a customer. Which brings me to this, there is zero customer service. Disneyland employees are all happy at work, while Magic Mountain employees are like zombies!

Six flags has worst and rude security people!! Don't go there!!! They kicked my family out...

By Jobelle S |

Worst experience! We flew here for a spring break vacation with my two teenage boys. We are not local. We do not know the theme park very well. We were trying to get to superman and we saw amphitheater with I swear to God they can even look at the camera. The gates were open and there is no sign "Do not enter". We thought we go there we can find a short cut to superman so we went in. Then a security named "michael" start yelling at us saying we were not supposed to be there and decided to kicked us out to the park. What the hell??? They embarrassed my whole family at the park trying to get our information like we are a bunch of freaking criminals. Look me up in social media and see if my family looks like a threat to the park. Michael and Stephanie were rude and didn't care less about people that comes to the park. They said it's a safety concern..what is that supposed to freaking mean? It wasn't our fault that gate was open and that there is no sign "Do not enter".. then they kicked us out.. security didn't do their job and that is not our fault..

Fun coasters. Very disorganized in other areas

By Minnie1016 |

We went to MM for the coasters, and they were a lot of fun.
Prepare to do A LOT of walking up and down hills while you’re there.
The price for snacks and food in general is outrageous.
The one restaurant we went to was disorganized. The signs say go left for food and right for alcohol, but when we asked about that everyone was directed to go to the alcohol section and order everything there.
We were thankful for inside seating, but they got one of our orders wrong and didn’t understand what “plain burger” meant. At first they brought a loaded burger, then they came back after removing the lettuce and tomato but lots of mayo still on it.

Refused to refund

By dondai |

This park have been taking monthly membership from my bank for over 1 year, even thought they have been closed and don't provide a benefit for what I am paying for. They think that its ok during these times to take customers money and not provide a service. The park has been closed for 10 months!!! but they continue to take the money membership fee each month.

I went online and its Feb. 2, they told me that I can cancel, however, they will take one more payment on Feb. 21st, shame shame shame. I will NEVER go to this park again in my life time.

Buzz Kill at Six Flags

By Tony |

The rides were AMAZING, but it wasn't the amsument park experience we were hoping to get. The wait times were not too bad depending on which ride. Up to an hour for the popular ones. We spent two days to ride all of them. Didn't buy fast track. The prices for food and souvenirs was an absolute Buzz Kill! You cant bring in food or drinks into the park. We paid $20 for 2 waters and 2 soft drinks. The park doesn't display signs or maps pointing which way to go to. Even with the downloaded map it was confusing to us. It's a cashless park, cards only and arrive at least 30 minutes before the park opens.

Best theme park of all times

Excellent place to go for a day trip with family and friends! I would highly recommend trying out the newest rides since the old ones need renovation.

Six Flags Magic Mountain: Best Theme Park!!!!!

If you are a thrill seeker or adrenaline junkie this is the place to go!!! Ride Twisted Colossus, Full Throttle, Tatsu, and Crazanity. I have a 2020 season pass and every time I go I am never bored or disappointed.

Terrible people

By Blk Unicorn |

This place is trash it was raing and I understand the safety concerns for two days ok but to show up and they try to tell you that 5 of your 11 tickets was used a week before your date how is that when it for a particular day b.s unexpectable never again! With a D- rating no wonder!

Magic Mountain is the best

By Ian H |

September weekday is the best time to visit as US kids are all back at school and adults at work. 5 min or less wait times. Very accommodating to autistic people, you need to go online and register for an IBCCES disability pass before you go which is simple and instant.
The coasters are world class and amazing if you like high and fast. X2 is the scariest and most unique coaster I have ever ridden anywhere in the world and Twisted Colossus duelling cars is also very fast and unique.

Great day out with some things that we think need to improve.

By Michael |

I’m from the uk and was visiting and this theme park was on my bucket list for a while! The park isn’t MASSIVE and there is a lot of rides! It was open from 1030am till 9pm we got everything we wanted done, BUT there is something’s they can improve on:

1. Fans in the queue lines are needed, with all your lines outside the shade things you have up are crap.

2. Your food prices are extortionate !!!! Disneyland food is cheaper than yours! $11.49 for some fries! my heart dropped!

3. If your planning too go get the all you can drink cup! It’s a life safer and will save you loads of money.

My advice is, start at the back of the park, everyone goes to the rides at the front first, don’t listen to the tide times on the app as they are never right! For example it said 75 minute wait for X2 and we waited 5 minutes and this was a Saturday! Overall we had a great day out and the rides are amazing and world class!

Thrilling Day

Awesome day. Great rides. Even though it was a quiet day the flash pass was great and a must have.
Lots of parking nearby and really accessible from all over LA.

Great family park

By ocshelby |

We have been three times since moving here this summer and really enjoyed it. The staff was super helpful, and the kids had a great time. The cocktails available in the kids area is a great touch for us parents and made the day much more enjoyable. There aren’t a ton of rides for a toddler, but definitely enough for 3-4 hours of entertainment. We will continue to buy annual passes and visit monthly. Also really enjoyed the front gate parking (for $50). Parking right at the gate is awesome when you ha e kids and stuff to unload with no shuttle needed.

Unkept, lots of broken stuff. Staff unmotivated.

By Nicole S |

Long waiting times, the stated times are easily exceeded by 4 - 8 times. 50% of the rides are closed. There weren't many people, but the waiting time was still long, totally over the top, everyone working is totally bored, unmotivated and unfriendly. If you know the Europa Park in Rust, you will be extremely disappointed. We won't be coming back.

Terrible experience, ruined our day!

By Stephanie M |

Took over an hour to get in the parking, backed up on main roads, people cutting and changing lanes. 3 1/2 hours before my kids rode their first ride. many rides closed so the other ride lines are 2 hours or more, even the bathrooms have lines! Can’t get a free drink refill without waiting 30 plus minutes! One hour to get pizza and fries. Staff we dealt with were mostly apologetic and nice. Not worth it at all!!
We were going to come back for a second visit on our trip from out of town, we are now planning something else since it was such an awful disappointing day

One of the worst experiences at an amusement park we’ve ever had. This park was filthy, the lines were ridiculously long, many rides were closed and not enough food places open to get drinks/food. We were there for 5 hours and only rode 2 rides. Also, the bathrooms were disgusting. This park should not be open to full capacity if they can’t fully staff it. SO disappointed. One other thing that really bothered us…kids were cutting lines all the time. We waited hours to ride a ride and kids would cut in front of us to meet friends. No one was monitoring the cutting. I could go on and on but I think I got my point across. Do not waste your money on this park.

Not what it used to be !

By FTichy |

It's ok.
When the park is not full they operate the rides with less "cars", then the lines take forever.
The food is super expensive.
The day we went 3 of the best coasters were closed.
It's not what it used to be, that is for sure.

FOREIGNERS BEWARE

By Greg H |

Absolutely terrible experience. If you are a foreigner then please listen to what I have to say. I spent 500 dollars in total for entrance for myself and my girlfriend and also the Platinum Flash Pass. We arrived at the gate at 10:30 for opening and the security took us aside because they could not verify my ID. I have both a Mexican and a Dutch driving License and according to the extremely rude security guard neither was good enough to verify who I was. In his words I could either wait, or leave (after just having spent 500 dollars for entrance!!!) They treated us like criminals for speaking in Spanish and to be perfectly honest Six Flags should be ashamed of themselves. The employees have ZERO tact and they absolutely don't know how to talk to people. I found it discriminatory and if I lived in the USA I would have made a much bigger scene and got my lawyer involved. Disgusting behaviour by everyone at the front gate. The place is run by a bunch of obnoxious teenagers, it's dirty, they ran out of soft drinks and there is absolutely no way I will be recommending this place to my friends all over the world. Spend your money elsewhere and learn from my mistake.

This park needs help.

By lilly m |

I came for a thrilling and entertaining adventure but got none of it. There were almost no food or drink stands open so we had to wait 45 minutes just to get out drinks filled. We searched for three hours to find a place to eat and got stuck with a turkey flatbread that was just 3 pieces of lunch meat, a tortilla, and handfuls of lettuce. We also got a meatball sub that had three small meatballs that didn’t even cover half the bun. We had to sit down for over two hours because of the extreme heat mixed with dehydration from lack of water sources. Most of the lines were so long that it took away from the enjoyment of the rides. By 8pm most of the remaining food stands starting closing even though the park stayed open until 9. Even though we left with immense headaches and were mildly dizzy it was still the most enjoyable ride due to us not having to wait 30+ minutes to get on. The bathrooms were uncleaned and most of the soap dispensers were empty. The employees were slow and had more interest in sitting and talking to each other than getting people on rides at a steady pace. The workers at the food and drink stands took ten minutes just to fill up a drink bottle even though the lines were out the doors. This should have waited until they had enough staff to get more food and drink stands open to reduce lines and increase enjoyment. I will not be going again until this park cleans things up.

Visit if you love roller coasters

By keentraveller79 |

Park looking run down, could do with a paint. If you love fast and thrilling roller coasters, this is the park for you. Visiting in off season so ride lines were short which was great but a lot of food outlets were closed.

The Best Six Flags

By TJ McGee |

This is one of the best Six Flag parks. The thrill seeker rides are totally awesome and very different than the others even with the same names. The Tatsu and Full Throttle are so much fun. And... their newest West Coast Racer roller coaster is an "out of this world" experience with its unique track - wait till you ride it. So much fun - worth the wait to ride it!

Amazing rides!!

By Pete M |

Incredible park for roller coasters!! With a fast pass we were able to ride most of the ones we wanted to. Fright Fest was also incredible. Do not plan on dining here though if you want to have time for rides. Very few places to eat with hour plus lines. No food available when you finally were able to order. Dining experience was poor.

Should have skipped six flags and fright fest

By Jamie W |

Just a bad day from the start . Flash pass was a joke ( universals is so much better ) waited forever for rides even with fast pass, waited in line for 45 min for the worst nachos ever . A bunch of rides not open be use of weather ( which we get )

Stayed for fright fest which was for sure the worst thing ever. Express pass was a joke ( still waited in line for 45 min with expired ) .

The may of the fright fest was good , terror areas were not bad but the vast for the houses was a joke ( definitely the worst cast for the houses I have ever seen , too bad because the houses were well created but the cast did not know what they were doing and did not want to be there ) . We didn’t even bother to wait for Saw ride after we were told we would wait 1 hour with a fast pass

Should have skipped six flags

Worst theme park ever.

By Ashley F |

This park is poorly run and managed. Only HALF the rides are even working today yet we still had to pay full price. Then only good thing about today was the fact there were maybe a thousand people in the whole park so wait times were minimal. But the fact they weren't doing a common sense approach to running one roller coaster train while the other one was loading and unloading, the wait times were double what they should have been. You are required to pay money to use their locker for X2 if you can't store your things in your pocket so my husband and I rode separately to avoid the charge. The park is old, dirty, and not only do I not mind paying 4 times more money to go to Disney, I doubt you could pay me to come back here. So disappointed. Truly the worst park I've ever been to.

Season pass holder

Great food, great rides! The flash pass is a must ⚡️⚡️. My family loves coming here. The food membership is totally worth it.

The best day for a fan, the worst for a non-fan

By citytravels18 |

My friend is a massive adrenaline junkie so this was always high up on the vacation list. I had never had good experiences in Ireland on rollercoaster so I can't say I was looking forward to it but turned out to have a great time!

Park was spotless, we went with normal tickets because we went midweek and guessed it might be quiet, guessed right so it was perfect for us. If going in peak season then I would recommend the skip-the-line to avoid long waits.

Great park, very thrilling!

By james96 |

Bucket list park ticked off! Have wanted to visit since being young and it didn’t disappoint! The rollercoaster variations were incredible and we loved every single one! Queue times were short for rides which was great! Only small let down was queues for food and drink were very long and didn’t go down quickly, staff a little slow serving waiting 1 hour for a drink at one point. At least ride queues were lovely and short!

Be prepared for huge queues

By ISABELA S |

The park is excellent, but urgently needs improvements.
Starting with purchasing the ticket. I tried to purchase with 3 different cards and it didn't go through, we had to pay double at the door.
The park is poorly signposted, they don't show directions to the attractions.
Huge queues and many times the ride stopped and we had to go to another one. Wasting time.
Drinking fountains with unsafe water, water coming out white.

Great Time

By Cree |

We took the grandkids for my birthday. We had a fabulous time. We did not have to wait for any rides. My grandkids (8 and 4) really enjoyed the park. The price of the merchandise was excellent.

too busy

By Andrea B |

The app showed 70min wait time for X2, but after 70 minutes waiting in line we were nowhere near getting close and didn't feel like waisting another hour of our day, so we left.
Lined up to use the restroom, then wanted to grab some food, but that was too busy - so we just left.
Most expensive walk I've ever had as after spending $160 for the two of us we left not having been on a single ride.

Super frustrating and disappointing.

I have been once before and had a fun day, but simply don't go if its a busy time of year - this outdated park simply cannot handle the crowds.

Wait till the pandemic is over to go!

By lavamom2018 |

We went to Magic Mountain on 4/3 and even though they are limiting the number of people the wait times were ridiculous!
First, we waited over 30 minutes just to pay $25 to park. Make sure you are in the left hand lanes when entering the park, otherwise you’ll be stuck in the vaccination lanes. ( This really should be better marked)
Entering the park was a breeze, which was the only easy, quick, part of the day.

Not every ride is open or working (looking at you “Revolution” which broke down just as we were about to get on) and wait times for the few rides that were open were about 45 minutes. “West Coast Racers” and “Colossus” had wait times of 90+ minutes ( not an exaggeration).

Even getting food took forever! We waited over 30 minutes to just get shakes at Johnny Rockets.

The absolute worst part was that not everyone was wearing a masks and very few people stayed 6ft apart. While waiting for “Colossus” we watched as security guards asked a family to put their masks on and each time the guards walked away the family took their masks off.
Six Flags will definitely need to beef up security to enforce the safety protocols!

Tatsu.......

By Brent H |

Amazing Rolleercoasters. So many to choose from.

X2 and Tatsu are insane. Tatsu and the Pretzel Roll might be one of the top moments. when you come out of the pretzel roll, and almost blacking out, you're viewing the front of the park, and finding a place to lande in the big front waterfountain, when you fly out of your seat.

Wonder Woman in the back seat may be a surprising top drop out there.

with the Best Value out there and the best rollercosters, it will get very busy on weekends.

Worst customer service ever

By Erin Y |

Don't go to these parks! Do not buy their passes. They do not care about their customers. Their online agents will not solve any problems that you have. And it is next to impossible to get ahold of a live person. When you do get ahold of a live person they will hang up on you when you are in the middle of talking about your situation.

Many railways out of service

By KR_974-aka-K |

Great tracks, but many didn't run - broken or lack of staff or no desire because a little busy day? We visited on a Tuesday. Front Gate Parking at $70 unnecessary, the Flash Pass that day also not necessary.
Ninja, Wonder Woman, waterways, all closed; Tatsu broke down; Goliath went up later, X2 by mid-afternoon, so all in all, the range of lanes was much smaller, at full price. There is no safety of the valuables at the railways.
The food supply is poor, the park seems very run down.
We were extremely excited about this park, but let it stay at 1 day, because it is completely erratic which lanes are open and the entire experience is clouded by a somewhat dirty-looking parking condition.

One bad apple poisons the whole tree

By Thiago T |

The experience was compromised by a very unprofessional and rude supervisor (Rosie/Rosy) of the Wonder Woman ride. I bought an Ultimate Flash Pass and a 30 dollars additional flash pass just for this ride and this employee wouldn’t let me in saying she didn’t have the equipment to scan the pass. And worse, she was acting as if it was none of her business because she didn’t work for Fast Pass, and she said she had already warned them about selling this pass. You can’t separate park and fast pass experience, they are totally intertwined.
I don’t know how she can be a supervisor acting like that, with zero commitment to customer experience.
She made me walk all the way back to the fast pass office, where they solved my issue, to then walk back to the ride, making me waste precious time in the park.
Park staff can’t act like Flash Pass is none of their business and indifferent about customer experience, specially one that had a superior tag.

No Hand Sanitizer stations

By James B |

No hand sanitizer stations and none for sale. Do you not care for our health we even looked in the shops and asked employees and they said they have none. You also don’t see employee’s wiping down hand rails.

Holidays at the park are amazing!

By karen |

Last time I came to six flags was about 4 years ago. The park was dying down and we just stopped coming.

This December we decided to give it a chance and got season passes. I cannot tell you how much six flags has changed!! Whoever is managing this park deserves a golden metal... and their staff is amazing too!

Season pass:
We purchased our passes online. I got the gold member pass to take advantage of the free parking. Parking alone is $25 dollars, so there's some savings if you plan on going to the park more than once with your passes. The regular season pass does not include parking. You also get discounts on your park purchases with the gold membership.

Food:
we purchased several snacks throughout the day. Food prices are actually affordable. Our favorite spot is the Ace BBQ, which is located at the DC Quarters by the Riddlers ride. Their ribs are LITERALLY the best I've ever had in a very long time! Cooked to perfection! This place also has turkey legs! This place is selling me the desire to get the food pass eventually lol. It's that good!
Six flags also has a great sports bar! If you wanna grab a couple beers, watch the game while the kids are enjoying the rides... Dads and moms... what's the you waiting for!?

Holidays at the Park Event:
This event runs from December to the first week of January. A few weeks ago I went to a Xmas Disneyland event.... And I'm sorry to say but Six Flags blew my mind away! It was so well organized and the decor is so beautiful! They also had s'mores stations! The s'mores kit is about $5 dollars but totally worth it. The lights shows is soooo cute! Vibrant colors and music.

There's also live music! The DJ sure knew how to mix those beats that got people dancing of joy and having a great time. Even my husband was dancing! And he is the Grinch in the family The singers were spectacular as well! So much fun.

Santa and Mrs. Santa Claus were there too! The park set up a small village where you can visit the Claus family and take profesional pics. They also had tables were elf's had activities for kids! So adorable and magical.

There's also backdrops throat the park and Xmas characters that you could take pics with

Cleanliness of the park:
100% super clean! This is one of the things I appreciate the most when it comes to amusement parks.... Who wants to use a dirty restroom or has been unable to throw away trash because the trash can is sooo full and no staff is attending these matters?? I know for sure I hate that. Six flags was on top of these things.... I literally had to used the restroom several times because of 6 kids I brought to the park.... And none of those time did I find a dirty restroom, or missing toilet paper, or awful smells.... Zero. There were also no trash on the parks walkways.. very well organized staff and management.

Conclusion: Six Flags rocks.

Wast of money, don’t go there, you will regret it

By Amir Holm G |

This place will go out of business very soon. They loose market share, they loose customers and they loose the respect of their guests. You pay for nothing, no value for money.
1) over 50% of the rides were closed
2) waited over 3.5 hours in the line for X2 in over 100 degrees and at the end when we reached the ride then suddenly machine was out of service.
3) you will recognize very very low maintenance over everything your eyes would see over their, rusted metal overall
4) most of all rides were functioning by only 50% of the capacity that means only one train per ride.
5) I have noticed that half of the guests just left the park very quickly after very bad experience in this park.
6) Restrooms were not clean and even staff were not friendly when you ask them just any simple questions.

In my opinion just spend money on Universal Studio instead, you will never regret it.

Incredible place

By Michael G |

Incredible place with awesome emotions and very funny. I'll come back again, a perfect place to spend a whole day.

High hopes… highly disappointed

By Dreamer62554130138 |

I can always get past 95degree weather- I chose to come on this day… HOWEVER, there were a ton of rides that were closed or closed temporarily while we were in line about to get on (see pics of closed rides). Unacceptable!! It was the kids’ first time here (mine too) and had such high hopes for one of my favorite childhood memories from the San Antonio location. The service consisted of a bunch of kids who never worked a day in their life and could care less about being there- took over 20 min to make a drink when there was no line. Due to all the rides being shut down, the other few we could do had 120 min waits… I’ve never wanted to leave so bad from a place. I’m writing this now as I sit in the park because it’s so bad. DO BETTER MAGIC MOUNTAIN. You’ve definitely lost that title.

An unforgettable day at six flags

By Amy D |

I love strong sensations! And the attractions are really cool! The only negative point is the waiting time…

Awesome

By RichardN28 |

Rides - simply brilliant. All of them. Worth going on as many as you can!j

Queues / lines - we went mid / late August in mid week and had more or less zero queues; only one ride (Tatsu) had a queue and it was advertised as 40mins but was an hour.

Go midweek after 20th of August for zero queues.

Food / drink - ok, but the staff were painfully slow. Really slow. Awful. Especially the kiosk near Tatsu; staff were slow and lazy, and made absolutely no effort, they just didn't work very hard.

We had a great day, the rides were brilliant and I strongly recommend coming. This is a 5+ star set of rides with a low star set of food staff.

You'll spend more time trying to find rides than riding

By Kimber |

The rides that we went on were great, but due to the very poor planning of the park (lack of signs to rides, inaccurate mobile app, insane paved hills to walk up & down, & ride problems announced AFTER waiting for an hour) we only rode 3 in the entire day. If these fixable problems were fixed, this would be a great place.

Bad.

By Orlando Z |

Dirty Park, the drink we buy along with the ticket, has huge queues to pick up, and they serve hot. In the main mountains only enters who is with the flash ticket, (which costs twice as much) The others are moaning in the queue. Bad service. Untrained people.

Clearly a budget park!

By Brian W |

We visited Magic Mountian last week twice and it was horrible. The park and bathrooms are in terrible condition. One major ride is close for the season, another was closed almost the entire time. The food lines are terrible, no indoor dinning. Not everything was bad the limited staff they had was friendly, they get flash pass and EAP on rides better than any other Six Flags that I have been too. The park has good security, the park does not have the weed smell and trash in it that some other Six Flags do such as Six Flags Great America does in Chicago. They are located in southern California so the weather is almost always awesome. They have clearly become a budget park. I give props to the parking staff they do an awesome job getting people parked in stead of a free all like what happens at some other parks. They also do a great job with issuing flash passes and skip the line passes. They are separate lines. This is not the case at some other parks.

UNSAFE!

By ViviGo2 |

Six Flags is unsafe! Not just from lax covid protocols but from hoodlums! My daughter & her friend were assaulted at Six Flags Magic Mountain yesterday afternoon (4/22/21)--while in line for a ride!! Social distancing was not being monitored/enforced & the altercation happened due to the close proximity of the 3 people behind my daughter/friend when they were asked to step back & observe some space. Pushing, slapping, hair pulling, name-calling, screams ensued--in front of ride operator & folks in line. The attackers ran away & security were unable to apprehend them. Both my girls are ok; the friend being monitored for concussion & bruising; the other, my daughter, has bruising on face & arm. Reps for the park, incl the local sheriff, said: 'it happens.' There has been NO follow-up from the park. No one is monitoring the long lines to ensure maintains safe distancing. IT'S ONLY GOING TO GET WORSE. Six Flags is unsafe! Not just from lax covid protocols but from hoodlums.

UNRIDING BELIEVABLE

By 714warrenb |

I took my family to magic mountain six flags Saturday for freight nights & to ride the rides. It was extremely packed we waited to get on the X2 for almost 2 hours when the ride shut down and we were told to try again later. We then went to the Full throttle & waited inline only for it to be shut down followed by the Tatsu. We then had to purchase a fast past so we could even ride any of the rides which for the cheap one for a family of 4 is $220 on top of the tickets we already purchased what a rip-off I would not recommend this theme park to anyone. What a waste of time & money not to mention disappointed kids.

Visited during Holiday in the Park

We had a wonderful time! It was chilly, so we really enjoyed the hot chocolate. Loved the Twisted Colossus ride!

EXPENSIVE, HALF RIDES CLOSED, STAFF WOEFUL!!!

By James H |

Thinking this was going to be a great day we arrive to find several big rides closed, no reasons given.

All the staff had absolutely nothing about them, all seemed that they were just about being forced to work there, no smiles no engagement just doing their job with the least amount of effort or interest.

Bob gets a special mention on the Gold Mine cart ride for being the most annoying person at a them park ever. He was like a.9 year old on a microphone, so immature and loud, people were covering their ears but he still continued. He colleagues all had that look of "why have I been made to work with him?"

This person needs to be put on litter picking duty, so he's alone and not annoying everyone.

The park is dirty, litter everywhere, footpaths in disrepair, toilets dirty and smelt, everything needs a revamp and some care shown to it (pictures supplied)

Hardly any food outlets open but the Dole whip was great.

All employees had absolutely no rush about them today, all on a go slow, only one carriage in operation,, queues would have gone down so much quicker in the heat had 2 carriages been running.

Goliath, Full Throttle and X2 were out top 3, Wonder Woman the bar across your legs hurts so much you want the ride to end, X2 back of calves banged on the seats as you went around, foot restraint would be good and head supports for a lot of the rides as most have sudden jolts to the sides and there's nothing to stop your head banging.
We had Platinum passes and we had to book for a time to ride! Not just go up the fast pass queue (well if you could find it, so many poorly signed) then on some you still had to queue instead of going straight to the front.

Overall very unhappy with our day.

Would we go back no, would we tell others to go off today's offering no. Spend the same money and go to Universal or Disney.
Cleaner, better rides, better run and staff are friendly and happy to help.
These are just late teens, early twenties doing a filler job and hating it!

Wish I could get a refund it was that bad, best part, leaving.

Two thumbs up!

By Anthony joe |

I'm From Arizona, I visited the park 9-19-22 on a Monday for my daughter's birthday. We Had a blast, very few people in line. Will be back next year to do it all over again. I give Magic six flags two thumbs up!

If you love roller coasters, this park is for you!

By Kyls73 |

Six Flags Magic Mountain is an approx 2 hour road trip from Anaheim (which is where we were staying and without our own car). We had to pre-arrange an uber transfer there and back as public transport and taxis are limited, lengthy and costly. My son is 18 and loved this park. Most coasters are adreneline charged and if you are not into coasters this is not the park for you. There are some family coasters but most are for the thrill seeker. As we visited in December, quite a lot of coasters were closed due to maintenance however the up side of off peak season is the lines were not long and some rides only had a 5min wait. Average was 20minutes. The park is cashless however if you don't have your own crrdit card you can load cash onto a card and use it for the day. Food options were plentiful. The park is very spread out and a little hilly therefore involves quite a lot of walking. Amenities were clean. Whilst the upkeep of the park could be a little better, it is a great day out and we enjoyed the SIx Flags experience. Plenty of parking is available. We were at the park for opening time but not all coasters were operational that early however the rides that were open had barely any queue. Entry fee is great value but the cost of transfers from and returning to Anaheim was extreme.

Prepare to walk. A lot.

By MichaelComeau94 |

While this is one of the most out of the way parks for those of us nearer to San Diego, if you care at all about big time thrill rides, this is most definitely the place to go. Huge variety of coasters, both old and new, and definitely one of the most iconic places to go for their coaster lineup. Not wholly walkable if you are out of shape since there is no real transport around to the park's various areas, but if you are an enthusiast, this is most definitely a place to go to get a great number of wonderful rides, and some icons that may change within a few years time.

Definitely eat outside of the park if you can help it, though. Their prices for food in the park are a T O T A L ripoff. And its just standard fare as far as food and drinks go, so its not like you are missing out on much at all, food wise. The selection of merchandise is pretty big, of course, as the Six Flags parks are across the country and encompass a large number of rides and attractions.

I didn't explore too far into the children's side of the park, though I know there is one, but I think overall that if you wanted to go somewhere with your younger party members, I would recommend Disneyland or even Knott's Berry Farm over Six Flags Magic Mountain. This park's definitely more geared towards the thrill seekers over family amusements from all I have seen.

Roller Coasters on Steroids

By LittleDi2 |

What a great place for older children. My teenager and 11 years old children loved this place. We have never seen roller coasters so long, high and big. A must visit if you are nearby and if your children are tired of the commercialize amusement parks. My kids have been here before and love coming back whenever we are in Los Angeles.

Amazing

By Steph B |

Got season pass good from 2021 through 2022 for less then a 100 then I spent 50 for meal pass so I can eat just about every where n park every time I go my whole fam has same passes we’ve been goin 2wice a week the pass also covers the 25$ parking so it’s really fun for the fam

By Robert Johnson |

This park has an amazing selection of coasters, however they are just after the titles. Many of the rides are too intense or not looked after. The toilets across the park are disgusting. The food areas are very tired and dated. Entry is slow and rides are loaded very slowly.

Popular amusement park with thrill rides

By Shanelle |

I love this place. My dad and I come here every year to do an annual daddy-daughter day, and will go on all the thrill rides. His favorite is X2, while I have a soft spot for viper and Batman. The crazanity ride is also super fun, and full throttle is a new-ish ride that’s a must-do.

Proof of vaccination OR a negative covid test within the last 72 hours is required. They did provide free focus testing at the park entrance. Masks were required at all times, including on the rides. Fanny packs weren’t allowed on the rides but the majority (except for X2) had bins/areas on the side for you to place your items. Certain ones (like the justice league and west coast racers) also make you empty your drinks prior to going into the waiting area. I’d suggest wearing a zippered jacket or even cargo pants so you can hold your loose items. Otherwise, there are paid lockers (Goliath, X2, Scream, etc) for $1 rental or all day lockers by the membership area.

No cash accepted for parking (credit or debit only). Currently $25 for general parking. The entire park is cashless, and you can trade your cash for a card inside the park.

In terms of food, there were certain spots that served alcohol (beer and hard seltzers). The ACE BBQ stop was one such place, though I’m salty that when a high school kid cut the line, the staff didn’t do anything.

You’re in for a fun day. Wear comfy shoes, bring a jacket because it does get cold at night, and do some neck stretches beforehand to keep yourself limber. Enjoy!

Be prepared for long lines and closed rides

By TheCaretaker |

The park isn’t crowded but the rides are running at half capacity so the lines are long. Many rides are closed and there have been at least 4 rides that broke down today. (Tatsu Wonder Woman Batman and Superman) Batman ran for 30 minutes and hasn’t been open since. Some of the rides have had multiple breakdowns. My kid was sitting in Superman when it broke. We were front of the line when Wonder Women went down.

The only way this park makes sense is to be a annual pass person and some for 3-4 hours and hit a few rides and then leave. Impossible to do all the biggies in one day due to breakdowns and long lines.

If you’re here for a day it’s just gonna come to $20 a ride and know that you just cannot hit all the rides.

Worth Visiting--Was Fun--Avoid St Louis Six Flags

By B S |

Probably the only six flags worth the admission price. We had a great time this summer even though there were huge crowds. Definitely a better product than in st louis

Disappointed first timers

By Jamare |

This was our first visit to Magic Mountain honestly was less on stellar. For seven hours in the park, my teens only went on two rides because the lines were so long. The park is limited capacity but so are the rides so the lines move slow. The food was overpriced and gross and the parking is expensive. Disappointing.

3X Plus Size Guide to Six Flags Magic Mountain Roller Coasters

By Aaron K |

3X Guide to Six Flags Magic Mountain

Will I fit?!
Below I will give you my body measurements, weight, and height. I truly hope this helps quite a few people. It was not an easy experience testing this.

I missed out on time with my daughter (she’s 19 and the trip was as a surprise gift to her)

Knowing people feel sorry for you (or don’t!) and seeing my daughter feel bad for me.

Going thru the classic walk of shame off the coaster is way more embarrassing than I let on to the people there.

I did feel disappointed in myself for letting my body get this bad again (I’ve lost and gained 100lbs 3 times so far) believe me it’s not a mystery how to lose weight (or gain it!).

So I’m truly hopeful this will help someone else like me be prepared.

So without further ado, here we go!

X2 ✅
This was an incredibly tight fit but I was able to make it work. It did go down over the shoulders but compressed my chest quite a bit making breathing not so easy.

Viper ✅
Absolutely no problems very comfortable!

Classic revolution ✅
Very tight fit and the lap bar was no issue. But the seat buckle was quite literally 1 mm away from not closing. You must really try to make this happen. But it was a successful ride!

Tatsu ⛔️
So this one clicked after I lifted myself up a bit, but only one click… I asked to see if they could tighten another click. They released it and attempted to, but sadly it wouldn’t even click in place again.

So they decided to remove me from the ride.

But to you be honest I don’t think I would feel safe if I rode it only with one click!

Ninja ✅
Easy fit. Comfortable and smooth. Absolutely no problems at all.

Jet Stream ✅
No issues. No harness or seatbelt. Anybody of any size can pretty much fit in this. Wet but nice.

West Coast Racers ⛔️
Nope. This one wasn’t even close.
I was about 1.5 to 2 inches away from being able to buckle the buckle on the over head harness that came down. Maybe if I had someone press it down it would’ve worked, but employees said they’re not allowed to help press. Welp 🤷

Riddler‘s revenge ⛔️
Well this was a huge no go. Probably about 2 inches away from being able to buckle the buckle. Although the harness overhead came down it was extremely tight in every respect.

Crazanity ⛔️
A huge no. I would say not even close. The locking buckle was a no and the overhead harness wouldn’t ratchet. Disappointing.

Batman the ride ⛔️
Not even close. I couldn’t get the buckle to attach to the shoulder harness.

Lex Luthor drop of doom ⛔️
Negative. Seat buckle attached but the shoulder harness wouldn’t click down enough.

Twisted Colossus ⛔️
Dude. Not even close. It has a seat buckle that isn’t in any way possible to get latched. I needed about four more inches. Not to mention the lap bar. 😂

Scream ⛔️
Well the workers tried hard.. They had a seat they believe is bigger for some people. But it wasn’t big enough for me. We could not buckle the buckle.

Wonder Woman ✅
OK so this was an incredible surprise, but I was actually able to get in and one of the workers pushed down for me. couldn’t believe it latched. I confirmed I was good to go. Again so surprising. This was a fantastic ride such a welcome incredible surprise!

Full Throttle ✅
So with an incredible amount of determination and feat of strength I was able to buckle the buckle. The lap bar was no problem. The buckle was a different story all together literally a millimeter from not closing... But I did it!!!

Goliath ✅
Another millimeter away and I would’ve not been able to buckle the buckle. But you really bear down and get it done it will click. The lab bar pulls down quite easily although if you have wider legs (I do) it will squish them together (somewhat painfully) I had to cross mine at ankles.

On a side note
Believe me I tried incredibly hard to fit in these rides. Asked for help pushing the bar down, putting extreme effort into the seat buckel, sucking it in, lifting my hips, sitting lower, seriously you name it, I tried it.

Six flags poor experience

By Bradleykl |

This was a terrible choice of family day out when there is so many other parks that offer a much better experience in Los Angeles. The park here is looking tired and run down and the very same phrase also reflects the employees in customer service here in every way across the board from guest relations through to service for food and drinks and support on rides. There were more than a quarter of rides closed with 6 out of 20 closed I was informed by guest relations. I tried to contact six flags via both email, chat online and phone and had zero response from all options. My only option to discuss was at guest relations in the park. My son has disabilities pass and when I brought this up at guest relations as we were discussing the situation of the ticket value for so many rides closed they refused to acknowledge any of my points. They had zero empathy to the situation and were not willing to look for any kind of resolutions.
I found this park to be well and truly the lowest level of rides open ratio and enjoyment of any I have ever visited across both USA and UK. Almost feels like a ghost town of a theme park lost and on its way out.

I love Six Flags!

Excellent! Great park with great employees and great prices on food and all the souvenirs! The park was very clean, some of the roller coasters weren't open and I'm thinking because of short staff but the staff they did have are super friendly, super helpful, and full of smiles! It was just a wonderful all around experience! We went to Disney and Universal and honestly Six Flags beat both of them with pretty much every aspect, to the prices, to the cleanliness of the park, to the quality of what your experience was, Six Flags was top-notch!

First visit since Covid = Success!

These rides are for thrill seekers with family friendly attractions as well. The park was super clean and staff took sanitization and social distancing seriously. 10/10 experience and you can't beat the price!
