Old town in the new

By Ginger S |

We visited the shops, restaurants and music in the square and delighted each time. Beauty waterfall gives pleasant atmosphere.

Rating highly dependent upon entertainment

By jimr20162016 |

Your rating of the square will highly depend on the entertainment of that night. We went two nights in a row. The first night there was a popular band and the square was packed along with the dance area. The next night there was a three piece band playing mostly country music and there was very few people there with maybe 6 people on the dance floor. I would definitely recommend checking the entertainment at the squares before choosing and going to one. As far as walking around and looking in shops, Sumter Square has a lot more to offer.

Fun

By RoxieV |

One night during our visit to The Villages, we stopped here to listen to a 70’s music group, what fun! We were with two other couples, and a thousand or more other people! The music was great, and the crowd fun. Several people were out dancing to the music, enjoying the night. They have different music here nightly from 5-9 PM. Be sure to look at the Daily Sun to see who is playing and go out and enjoy an evening of free music.

Fun

By jcp725e |

Went the say of the street fair. Lots of interesting booths with very nice people. At the same time visited the Veteran's Park only a few steps from the square.

Enjoyed evening at Spanish Springs Town Square

Always entertaining

By sometexan |

In the square you have great music (local restuarants around the square before 5) from 5-9. Good food all around and just so much fun being in the "environment". It's always a great time.

ENJOYED NIGHTLY ENTERTAINMENT

By Denise M |

We enjoyed going to the Square for the music entertainment and to patronize the restaurants there.DJ Scooter was fun.

Neat old square. I found it quaint and charming.

By MichiganMillionaire |

Looking forward to seeing the night crowd at the square. It's a bit aged, but quaint and the square itself is very nice and Spanish like.

Very neat town square

By degrammer52 |

Spanish Springs Town Square is a beautiful place it reminds me of a old Spanish town. Several dining places, movie theater, ice cream shop and several shopping boutiques.

Our favorite town square in The Villages

By donfey |

Spanish Springs, the oldest of the three town squares in The Villages is, to me, the most charming. From nightly entertainment in "the square," to dinner at one of the six excellent restaurants, to home made ice cream dessert at Kilwins, we've spent many enjoyable evenings at Spanish Springs. It's easy to make friends with any of "the regulars" who dance virtually every night so, even ion you're alone, you can plan on spending the evening with friends. Try it. You won't be disappointed.

Go here all the time! Still love the original!

By Gayle E |

Here you can hang out and listen to music, stroll and people watch, shop, eat, go to a movie or see a show at the SHARON. Love to make an evening of it and enjoy the atmosphere, There is also a farmers market once a week as well as vendor night twice a week.

Spanish Springs

By petera0307 |

Live free music nightly on the square where you can listen and dance, meet friends, make new friends, eat at the many restaurants within a short walk, go to the Sharon theater and Rialto movie theater.

Entertainment daily, stores and great Eatery's

By Steven D |

This is the original Town Square in The Villages FL. Lots of entertainment, every night! Excellent Shops and Restaurant's all in walking distance. They host car shows 3-4 times a year! They even have a cycle bar for a group to ride around and have fun! Life in The Villages is fantastic! So much to do with over 2200 clubs to keep you busy. Also a great Golf Cart Community! Life is Good!

What's not to love ...

By DBoBo |

Great place, plenty of parking spaces, live music every night, dancing, small market on a couple of times a week.

Nice to walk around the small boutique shops and eat and drink during the day and even better in the evenings when the sun's going down and the happy hour cocktails are on.

Always a fantastic atmosphere, the bands are all brilliant and the people are lovely.

Absolutely Beautiful

By Jacklyn W |

This lovely Square has beautiful Spanish Architecture and lots of fun things to do. There are many restaurants and lots of unique shops. Be sure and stop in Cozco Handcraft Gallery which has only imports from Peru and the owner is actually from Peru. There is also a movie theatre, an old church that has been turned into a concert hall and live entertainment 365 evenings a year on the square!

The Villages overview: an old song, "This could be heaven or it could be hell..."

By Ruth B |

Think about it: Everything in The Villages is planned and seemingly micromanaged down to the nth degree. It is a shopping addicts dream come true. At The Villages' "nature center" visitors are not allowed to walk on the grass. In about a week here I have yet to see a single insect, not so much as a butterfly, a gnat or a bee. Yes, residents use golf carts to get around, but they also use cars so there's no real energy conservation as far as transportation is concerned. Every Village subdivision is gated. There are no sidewalks for walking.

On the other hand, people who live here have nightly entertainment, a super abundance of name brand shops, lots of golf courses...

Since neither my husband nor I play golf, this wouldn't be our first choice as a place to live but, staying at an Airbnb, we had an interesting visit.

Summation: The Villages: an alternate reality that seems to suit many people just fine.

Think of it as a Disney World for adults. Worthy of a visit.

Beautiful Square & Fun Line Dancing

By Napunani |

I was here with a THE VILLAGES resident for the car show on a Saturday and music by Scooter. It was really busy and Scooter kept the crowd line dancing for hours!
Beautiful square and great DJing by Scooter!

Fun is the name of the game

By nancy j |

So many restaurants and shops and things to do. There are events and dancing that take place and those are always a lot of fun to participate in or just watch.

Awesome enviroment, family friendly area. Great food establishments and movies.

By Edward M |

lots and freindly people allowing for golf carts, strollers walkers alike.
the food is very well priced along with the water views and resturant choices are great from high end to mid grade. Love the town squares.

Wonderful, Can't wait to go back to visit.

By Negron812 |

The Marriott was wonderful, the service was great and the employees were more then helpful. Things to do all over. Best part all was walking distance and didn't have to move my car. Restaurants were delicious and great. The square was so enjoyable with live band, dancing and drinks. The whole family had a fantastic time.
Can't wait to go back!

Town Place Hotel. A nice place gone down the tubes

By John P |

Stay away! The hotel (The Town Place Hotel) is now rented out to various displaced persons, and is a mess. Men loiter around the hotel, gathering particularly around the pool area.
The breakfast is the worse I've experienced at any Marriott ever. Unattended kids make mountains of waffles while others turn away frustrated. We returned our blue green mold covered English Muffin to the attendant who seemed to accept it as an everyday event.
Just too many negatives to list them all here.
Yuk...too bad. It was one of our favorite weekender destinations.
The Spanish Springs Town Square is still a fun place, but stay somewhere else.

Great music!

By Roy R |

A must visit in the Villages, especially after having dinner at one of the restaurants. The music is always fun to dance to or just watch the line dancers and rock and rollers. HAPPY Hour from 5-7 PM has great choices for beverages. A fun place to take the grandkids and guests.

Older of the Paddocks

By Chris W |

This is the oldest section of the Villages. more box store shopping and box form restaurants... the typicals... nice to see by riding up with a golf cart. Brownwood and Lake Sumter are better.

I wish i had more time... great shopping and great entertainment and dining

By charlesf |

The only evening I had I saw so many shopping options and the band Blue Stone Circle was there. They are really good!!! Ate at farmshed and could have gone to many other options. Will go back next time in town

Live entertainment and good restaurants.

By Jbennesh |

Easily the best selection nightly entertainment and several restaurants to choose from. Different band every night 365 nights a year.

Margarita Republic is a hidden jewel

By tforce0606 |

someone recommended this spot as a late night delight but I decided to just pop in for a quick lunch bite. The food was fine, nothing over the top delish but edible. I did enjoy the margarita, it was refreshing. I am definitely willing to give it another try next time around to try the late night party atmosphere everyone says it is super fun.

Awesome fun and happy people!

By cindygiggles27 |

Was there on St. Patty day! Had a fun time, so many things to do!
Music, food, shopping! It was clean and a great Town Square!

Fun time

By NICKATREST |

We stopped for a night in the Villages after visiting friends in St AUGUSTINE on our way home. We first stopped at Brownswood square. While the music was good, it was sparsely attended, so we decided to try Spanish Springs where DJ Johnny was playing to a large boisterous crowd. Great fun on a Monday night!

FREE ENTERTAINMENT 365 DAY A YEAR (weather permitting)

By 99flyboy |

Of the three public squares in THE VILLAGES this is our favorite, Brownwood being the least appealing..no ambiance! Another plus is happy hour (2-4-1) at the kiosks on the square is from 5pm-7pm. The other two squares only have 2-4-1 happy hour from 5pm-6pm. Market Nights, Monday and Wednesdays, are typically busy with people checking out the various vendors wares and services. The more popular bands are usually booked on Market Nightstoo. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and bars around the square as well as a movie house with 8 theaters. Lots to see and do year round.
Ron

Great place to eat, dance and shop

By bumbee2017 |

The town center has free entertainment every night from 5-9pm and happy hour with 2 for 1 drink options is from 5-7pm. Nice people to talk too and just walk around.

Middletown NY, High School Florida Reunion

By Bobbyk |

Saturday, February 23rd, 2019, Gator’s Dockside Restaurant hosted the Middletown /Florida 6th Annual High School Reunion with a stunning attendance of over 100 MIDDLETOWNERS.
General Manager,Mitchell Gray and his two Assistent Manages, Ms Harley and Mr James did an outstanding job of waiting on tables and attendees. Food was fresh, delicious, and served in a timely manner. Drinks were reasonably priced.

Love it here!

By Shiree M |

There is so much to do. Live music 365 days a year in the square. Great shops (like Chicos), great options for eating and enjoying adult beverages. Most locals drive golf carts (made to look like old vintage cars....corvettes, bentleys, 57 chevys! Don't have to live here to enjoy the market square and all it has to offer.

Lots to do

By Jotum |

Nice square with restaurants and shops surrounding it and it backs up to a lake with a boardwalk. Entertainment with dancing in the evening. Fun time

Great place for an older crowd

By Lynn M |

There is a lot to do here, with a pristine movie theater, plenty of shops and restaurants, and a town square with live music and dancing every night. However, we are both 50 years of age, and we were by far the youngest people there. This is a retirement community, after all. We will definitely go back in 15 years or so, but it's not right for us quite yet.

If Rocky and the Rollers are appearing...follow Yogi's suggestion

By johnfjohnston |

"Nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded" Yogi Berra declared. If Rocky and the Rollers are appearing at Spanish Springs, Yogi's statement is most fitting. The crowd is overwhelming and enthusiastic. Nevertheless, good manners mostly prevail. Good manners prevail except for the one selfish man who fouled the air for hundreds of others with his noxious cigar smoke for thirty minutes.

Fun Square

By FIRNATINE |

This is a fun Square and the first built in TV and has the Great Sharon Center for entertainment venues. Good music from 5-9 every night. Lots of restaurants and shopping near by.

great evening entertainment

By johnbarnon |

We enjoy spending time here in the square, live music, some better than others, but there is no better place to enjoy a happy hour, great place.

Live entertainment nightly!

The Villages vacation

By Richard Salzano |

Love love love The Villages. We go here every April and December. April is the best time to go.Most of the snow birds have gone home and weather is great, around 80 most of the time. Spanish Springs is our favorite square. It has the only two hour happy hour. Different bands every night of the year. Scooter the D J the best entertainment. He really gets the crowd going.A lot of fun.you can rent a manufactured home close by for around 1800 for the whole month.I highly recommend ERA GRIZZARD for renting.

Music and vendors make for a fun night

By Dennis P |

The square slows down somewhat in the summer months. This means more chairs available every evening. Country music dominates the evening programs which may or may not be everyone's' choice. Golf cart access is preferable as one can easily double up in the parking places. Once October arrives there will be vendors on Monday and Wednesday evenings so parking places, close to the stage, are few and far between.

FUN!

By Bernard M |

We seemed to be in this square a lot even though it was far from out location. Danced to the bands, saw a movie, ate here, looked at the shops, but especially like the old large trees with Spanish moss. Best of all the squares in beauty.

Great area to have a date night

By Vivian D |

Very nice area to walk around! We will be back to try a nice restaurant! Heard some really good things about and wanted to see for ourselves. Xoxo

The first and most impressive Village town square

By RayMargeson |

Both at night and in the day time Spanish Springs Square is a delight. Concert hall, shops and restaurants are right there. Parking is convenient and nightly entertainment can fill your day and night.

Bloody’s

By 79fortgirl |

While visiting with family members...ladies day out, we ordered Bloody Mary’s all around. They. We’re. Excellent! Our waiter also mixed the drinks. He was covering most of the tables that day, poor guy but he handled it beautifully!

A public square in The Villages

By Cindy H |

This is the oldest square and tends to be quite crowded. It has a Spanish theme. There is live music daily from 5-9. There are many stores and restaurants to visit as well.

Free outdoor entertainment every evening.

By Carl S |

Spanish Springs Town Square is the northernmost of the current three Town Squares in The Villages, Florida.

The Square itself is used nightly, weather permitting, for free outdoor entertainment which is scheduled by The Villages management. Most of the entertainment is centered on music, which is often intended to facilitate line dancing by visitors to the square. Second, perhaps to golf, line dancing is one of the most popular physical activities in this "senior community" for active adults.

A variety of dining venues surround the square, and down Main Street, which is a major feeder street into the square. There are also shops and a bowling alley nearby. Both a movie theater and a Performing Arts Theater for live entertainment are located on the square.

A short distance away is a lengthy shopping center, anchored by a Publix supermarket. Across the Publix parking lot is a major highway which is lined with a wide variety of restaurants and commercial businesses, including major brand name stores found in most big cities.

A large proportion of the on-street parking that you will see around Spanish Springs Square is usually occupied by golf carts. The Villages, with a population of over 100,000 must be one of the largest golf cart communities in the world. You can travel to any location in The Villages either on surface streets with speed limits of under 35 mph, or on "multi-media" paved paths. There are some residents of The Villages who do not own an automobile, relying upon their golf cart.

On certain dates, announced in advance, the square is closed off to allow the parking of vintage cars for free antique car shows.

The square is a public place, and you need not be a resident of The Villages to attend any of the outdoor events. However, if you are over 55 years of age and are considering living in a senior's community, The Villages is an excellent choice.

The Villages operates a live webcam with a view of Spanish Springs which is available most of the time. It can be found on their website.

Night out to eat and listen to music

By Richard B |

Love this place. Good restaurants and always a good crowd. Villagers there always have s good time and let it loose. 5-6 good restaurants there to go to plus a movie theatre.

Spanish Springs Town Square Happy Hour

By CliffS418 |

We visited the Spanish Springs Town Square based on the nightly entertainment. There is LIVE entertainment from 5-9PM EVERY evening, and Happy Hour from 5-7PM. The square is the smallest of the 3 in the Villages, hence the most intimate. It also offer the most shade, as it's the most mature and is largely surrounded by a few large oak trees. I'd highly recommend a visit to this town square; the happy hour is also 1 hour longer than at the other 2 Villages Town Squares.

Can't wait to visit again

By beachmomma2018 |

Had a blast, loved this place. Happy hour until 7:00. Band was rocking it. Enjoyed people watching. Old and young alike were having a great time. Older couples and singles dancing...some with their grandchildren. I didn't get to spend enough time to evaluate the shops but will next trip up.

Has it all

By Catarina137 |

Beautiful, clean and lots to do in this village. Movie theatre, shopping, bowling and great areas to sit and people watch. :-)
We attended dinner and a show at Katy Bells. If you are a guest, the golf carts can be overwhelming and looking for a spot takes time and patience. Keep in mind there is always overflow parking in the back of some stores. The rotating vendor nights in the square and live entertainment are very lively and well attended.

Great nightly entertainment and happy hour!

By Jesse L |

Enjoyed an evening of music and dancing. The happy hour drinks are an added bonus. Great Spanish architecture throughout the square.

Love the music!

By UkuleleGirl |

Every night about 5 PM the live music starts and you can dance to your hearts content or just watch the dancers. Some are quite amazing and you know they've been dancing together a long time. Fun, Fun, Fun!

A place for everyone to enjoy that has exciting Nightly Bands 365 days a year for FREE

By james j |

Live free music nightly on the square with great bands. You can listen, dance, meet friends, eat, drink, and shop... It is just a golf cart ride for most people which makes for easier parking but you can drive also it just may be a couple blocks of walking because its a really popular place to be. In its many festive and seasonal decorating stances its a sight to behold. Many activities from market night and car shows to food tastings. It's a real treat to visit and waste away a few hours just soaking up the amenities and all there is to see and do.

Fun

By JodieLovesSun |

Music is provided free of charge 365 days a year! It begins at 5 pm. Need I say more? Also, happy hour prices on drinks from 5-7 pm. Can’t beat it!

Enjoyable Spanish Springs!

By 1957 |

There are many shops to look around , many restaurants and bars , many great events and fantastic evening entertainment, live bands (5-9pm) Happy Hour (5-6pm). It’s one of the oldest town square but it’s well maintained and clean. Lot’s of car parking and cart parking available. Also it’s pet friendly .

Great Place to Spend the Evening

By rhflynn |

This is a town square within The Villages, FL. There is live entertainment 7 nights a week. There is no charge and most of the bands are very good. There are restaurants and bars in this area as well but you can't beat this free entertainment. Everyone dances and has a great time. We thoroughly enjoyed this on our visit. Can't wait to visit again.

A place to appreciate older people

By ilesanmia |

This is a great place to be in the evening to dream of retiring and live there. I visited this place twice with my wife during my one week stay at Holiday Express Inn and Suites. The retirees having a great fun and happy every day they live to see. This is the evidence I saw in Spanish Springs Town Square. They dance to live performance. This place is beautiful in the night and we love it.

Great summer night activity

By Marcella C |

Scooter the DJ was playing the night we visited and he makes the show. Not the average DJ. Of course the two-fers at the bar also helps.

Lunch

By tertro |

Good, authentic Greek food. Hummus is great. Ask for Lisa, very attentive and she made good suggestions.

Adorable

By stephanie p |

Spent a few days in The Villages over Christmas and we went to Spanish Springs twice, and loved it. We ate Thai, which was excellent, perused Barnes & Noble, and on Christmas Day, visited Starbucks, and there were a few other restaurants open too. Well planned and well done.

Nighly entertainment

By kps1213 |

Really enjoy the band's and watching people dance. The space can get pretty crowded, but it's fun and everyone seems to have a good time. We are regulars at the square.

Great shopping and restaurant area

By David C |

First time here for my wife and I. Will not be the last! What a fun area. I think if I had seen this area before buying in New Smyrna Beach I would have retired here. Lots to do and living here means your don’t have evacuate to every potential hurricane or tropical storm working it way up the coast. Anyway it is a great place!!!

Fun place to relax and enjoy

By Nancee |

Spanish Springs town square has free outside entertainment 365 days a year. There are chairs available or you can bring your own and just sit back and relax. You can buy a drink at a vendor near the square. There are also restaurants, stores and a movie theater for your enjoyment as well. There is available parking around the square and parking lots down the side streets.

Lively.

By WanderingOnion |

The Town Square provides live music each night as the backdrop for dancing locals. A quick Google search will reveal special events such as art festivals and craft fairs.

Go to shopping

By Debra R |

Make sure to stop by the icecream and fudge shoppe... a must visit every trip down! Wonderful restaurant selections and fun shops!

Great place to take photos.

By Janis H-P |

We spent a day in The Villages...enjoying Florida's great weather, Spanish Springs Town Square and taking memorable photos. Being that all the businesses aren't 'open' yet in Florida there was ample parking available everywhere we went in The Villages. People who were there were very considerate re 'social distancing' which was a good thing.
Spanish Springs Town Square...what a lovely place.

Nice break

By b z |

Great place a lot to see and do, it makes for a nice break from kust being in the house. There is live music also and its a great place to people watch too

The First Square

By caklovett1 |

This charming Spanish-themed Square offers nightly outdoor dancing surrounded by other attractive options within a 2 minute walk: Movie theatre, MVP Sports Club, The Sharon Live Theatre, 11 restaurants including World of Beer and the landmark Katy Belles. Shops and the golf cart bridge to the historic side of The Villages is also convenient. This Square is also in proximity to the Grande Plaza Mall, a golf-cart accessible strip of 15+ businesses including a golf-cart gas station, 2 super markets and Belks. "The Springs" surrounds the band gazebo in the Square....listening to the music, hearing the Springs spill into the reflection pool, and people-watching is an ideal way to spend an evening. Music til 9pm nightly.

It is growing on me...

By GaryWT |

Our visits here are getting better. It does have our favorite fudge store which is a plus. Sat one night to listen to the music and people watch. Always some great dancers and then the line dancers and some reliving their teenage years always bring a smile. Good to see so many enjoying themselves. Have not eaten here but maybe next time or at least when we move down there.

Bad Dance Floor

By Patti P |

The overall experience at SS is good; however, if you are a dancer (not freestyle) the cobblestone is not conducive to dancing. Also, the children are allowed to run around making the experience very dangerous to the dancers and the children. The Entertainment Dept nor Community Watch control the danger. Be very careful if you dance here.

A fun place

By rpodell143 |

Spanish Springs Town Square has so many fun restaurants, shops and theatres that you can always find something to do there! The music on the square is wonderful, and everyone smiles and dances.

Great experience on the square

By David C |

Great bar/ restaurant on the square. Live music the day we were there! We just had a snack, but it was very good so I would assume the other items on the menu would be equally good.

Create Memories of a Lifetime

By ras2860 |

We've been going here for more than 15 years. Terrific place to take your kids, grandkids and create family memories of a lifetime, great for dinner, dancing or just chilling with a cool drink in one of the chairs listening to music.

The original of the three (3) town squares, this has great FL charm to experience The Villages. Monday's and Wednesday's are vendor nights, and Spanish Springs Town Square's Happy Hour is an hour longer than any other.

Each square has it's place, but our best memories of The Villages include Spanish Springs Town Square and dancing with GrandMom.

The Oldest Villages Town Square

By Paul L. |

Being the oldest town square it has the old Spanish town decor and setting. It is beautiful with its Spanish setting, good restaurants, and lively music at night. It has antique car shows, theatre, restaurants, sports club, dancing etc. It's a wonderful place to be; mostly at night....

It's all an illusion

By FLreality |

Older somewhat run down. Like many places in the villages the upkeep is lacking. The Villages is all about getting your money and shutting you up. They filter everything here news, comments, etc. Then they can't even trim their palm trees or anything else.

Yes there are people that suck in and think everything is wonderful but if you have a brain and aren't 80 years old you realize this fictitious image and living is nothing more than a controlled environment that is chained together so one guy rakes in major millions. You can tell when you live in one of these houses and can hear a garage door or conversation 4 houses away

The squares are no different all the restaurants are basically a few different small companies that have basically the same menu in their 6-9 restaurants and can't even maintain consistency

Spanish springs is the oldest and has the worst restaurants of all don't bother. And while The Sharon is the theater more like self gratifying named. The shows are extremely sub par because the entertainment here is also manufactured. You will find a person in anywhere from 2 to 5 bands and you will find a lot of those people in these substandard Broadway copies

Save your money and go somewhere else if you can find it because everything outside the villages is also controlled to be crap and limited

Welcome? Friendly? Not in thr slightest

Fun for everyone

By PenguinsSteelers |

Nightly shows in season, many other nights during the summer evening.
Great music and dancing for everyone.
A great chance to socialize and relax.
Life as it should be

Another great evening at Spanish Springs

By Ken M |

Brought the whole family tonight
A wonderful band. Very nice entertainment. Plenty of nice restaurants. Plenty of parking.
It's the Villages.

An Enjoyable Evening

By Bill R |

We were camping around Florida and camped near Spanish Springs. Went in for dinner. Had some afternoon drinks at Americanos, had dinner at Ay Jalisco, and pulled out a couple chairs and listened to the Anita Drink Band. Everyone was having a fine evening. People dancing, talking, listening, and enjoying the evening. A friendly place to visit.

Nice

By pittyguy |

This little town square is very nice. Clean a nice solo musician playing on the square and lots of places to get a bite or a drink.

Johnny Wild & The Delights

By M7970YEstevenh |

My NOW favorite band in The Villages. Not just because of the music, Buddy Holly type, but the raw talent that this group exhibited. 4 guys & 3 girls. You need to hear them. This band has created a following....& I understand why!!

The perfect representation of a Town Square

By Bradford W |

Good restaurants, interesting stores, great music every night! Happy hours all the time! Easy access by car or cart. Everything to like.

Gost town during the day, might be lively in the evening

By MartaM285 |

Unless you go to Spanish Springs in the evening, it is a ghost town. It looks pretty and clean but there is hardly anyone there during the day.
There are a few restaurants in the square and hardly any shops. Simply nothing to do unless you want to drink or have a bite. It is not a tourist spot and people we met there are uneasy around the strangers. This was our last and only trip there and we were thinking of retiring there. There was an arrow to see sales and info office but we could not find this office. Not sure why it is advertised as an exciting retirement spot. We would rather Disney Springs in Kissimmee.

Nice shops!

By meier5 |

Nice area, clean, fun shops, super friendly people. Great area to wander around, lots of restaurant choices.

Entertainment

By longde47 |

The square has music entertainment every night starting at 5 and lasting till 9. The stores and restaurants stay open for that. Some nights they have a market night with people selling items in tents around the square. The night we went the group was Rocky and the Rollers. If you want rock and roll this is a must see. If you visit the Villages all will tell you to see Rocky. He lives there and performs often. We first saw them on a Royal Caribbean cruise and they became our favorite band

Nice amenity and worth a stop

By Susan V |

While researching retirement locations we visited this spot in The Villages on a Tues. evening in Feb. The place was crawling with golf carts. There was a singer of country music in the center of the square. There is always entertainment in a town square. The setting/ambiance is manufactured, but still pleasant. A lot of residents were hanging out and seemed to be having a nice time visiting with each other. There are streets leading away from the square where boutiques and restaurants are located. The place is well lit, and stores were still open after 8PM. It was nice to see unique boutiques in addition to some chains. Chicos was there, as was a very nice boutique called Bermuda Bay, women's clothing and accessories. As is the case with any retirement community, you have to be extremely careful when driving/walking the area. Do not expect that drivers see you, will drive in the correct lane, or obey the signs.

Relax and Destress

The town square is very nice. It's very clean and very relaxing with the water falls on one side. You see people just sitting around relaxing. There are restaurants all around.

Fun for all

By john l |

2 for 1 drinks 4-6 and free entertainment nightly. Lots of places to eat from quick to fine dinning.

Dancing For All Ages

By Mike C |

This was the first town square in The Villages and is my favorite. Free entertainment 5-9pm every day for the week. Happy Hour 5-7pm, an hour longer than the other 2 squares. Listen to music, dance, talk to people, and take a walk. Lots of fun. It does get hot in the summer and there is very little shade.

Nightly live music and fun

By mike_jarman2002 |

Free music in the square, plenty of restaurants and bars. Makes for a great evening out. The locals can drive up in their golf carts.

Lovely!

By DayBreeze |

Nice eating, shopping and service establishments in a compact area. Free nightly entertainment and happy hour drinks.

Always a good night

By Tony McK |

On vacation with my wife and always visit the town squares in The Villages, always a good band playing and entertaining the crowds of people that turn out every evening.

Clean and good shopping. Went to the Sharon Theater and saw the Spinners! Good show.

By Jim B |

Great upscale shopping with great shops according to my wife. Good music and dance in the square. Resort feeling.

Excellent entertainment nightly

By gypsywomen2 |

The first of current 3 town squares this one has a Spanish flair. Nightly entertainment from 5-9 and happy hour from 5-6. Popular bands will fill the square. I recommend come early to get a seat, or bring your own chairs. Music for a ages. Many bands will teach you some basic dance steps if you want to learn. Adjoining restaurants offer a chance to grab a meal. Shopping abounds and don't miss Kilwins for your ice cream fix.

Gorgeous!

By HeathersS |

When I first walked into Spanish Springs I felt like I was stepping back into time. Little restaurants on every corner, beautifully landscaped, sidewalks and quaint street lamps. The buildings have a Spanish flare to them. In the middle of the square was a huge Xmas tree , fountains, waterfalls, and rolling streams. Lots of places to sit down and relax. There was also a band playing and people were dancing. Spanish Springs is also Home to the Sharron theater where they offer an array of Broadway productions.
This Square is one of 3 in the Villages. Live music 365 days a year.

Awesome

By TigerLily1010 |

Love the architecture. the free nightly entertainment and a wide range of eateries. At Spanish Springs the Rialto theater is there. If you have a Villages ID, the movie tickets are discounted. The Sharon Center is lso located there. Check this Square out at night...absolutely beautifully lit up.

Party daily for no extra bucks!!!

By Tigerlilly T |

Great place to listen to live bands and dance daily!! We come here with my 97 year old uncle, who loves to watch the line dancers!!

Movie and dinner

By Excursion731956 |

Great movie theatre comfortable dinner at mccalls tavern best fried chicken in the villages put it on your list

Nasty security

By Annette338 |

The security people are rude and very sarcastic. One came up behind my seat near the isle and shouted rudely. “Can I ask you a question ?” Like he wanted everyone to know he was in charge. “Could a wheelchair fit thru here?” I said If I was in the wrong, I would move. He said in a way to try embarrass me in front of my family and friends “I can see you have married to long to admit so easily you are wrong”. He said this very sarcastically and moved away very quickly, and did not give me a chance to respond.

Great place for meeting neighbors and enjoying The Villages

By karen c |

So many things to do here from free entertainment nightly, restaurants, shopping etc. Stop by and enjoy!

Spanish Springs Town Square

By Wendy M |

This place always has something going on. The day we visited there was a nice craft show in the town square. It has lots of different stores and restaurants as well as live music and dancing, movie theatre and bowling. Very fun to see all of the different golf carts driving around in this town square. These seniors certainly know how to have fun!

Evening listening to band and dacing

This is a great place for people watching and no cover-charge. Free entertainment and a wide selection of restaurants.

Dancing in the Square

By Kathy L |

Before COVID-19, we went to 5he Spanish Springs Square all the time. We enjoyed visiting with neighbors and friends and the option to purchase a beverage, adult or otherwise. It was always a nice evening.

I was in the Villages to visit with my 2 Aunts, ages 80 and 88 and my daughter, who lives in Venice, FL

By Clic22 |

As always, we enjoyed Spanish Springs Town Square. We had meals at TooJays and one of the outdoor eateries across from the square. We enjoyed the music in the evenings, and had ice cream at Kilwins. It is a fun, clean, well decorated environment.
I did miss my favorite shop, though. It was called "Picture Me" and has apparently gone out of business!

Eating my words...

By GaryWT |

Each time we visit we like this square more and more. Now to eat my words because we are buying a house and this I’d the closet square to us, go figure. We look forward to spending more time hear and enjoying the shops and restaurants. Will be returning in a few weeks to move into the new house.

Town Square

By fmbphd |

Lots of fun and activities going on. The square is surrounded by many good restaurants. Live music and dancing every night. This is a fun place!!!

Gorgeous town setting with nightly music

By Phyliss B |

Beautiful town and town square, decorated with a Spanish theme, fountains, shops and lots of seating. Nightly music venue in the town square with happy hour pricing.
Bands change nightly, and are all very good. Bars, restaurants and shops surround the town square. Wonderful theater showing all the latest movies and the dinner theater Katie Belle’s offer excellent dinner shows. There is always something to do in the town.

Charming place to visit

By Pam R |

The architecture in Spanish Springs is beautiful. There are reasonably priced restaurants that offer a variety of cuisine. There are also a few clothing stores that mainly cater to women's fashion. If you are looking for a unique gift, visit the Peruvian store. You won't be disappointed. The Sharon Theater is a spectacular venue to take in a show.

Fun, food and entertainment 7 days a week.

By mikesegway |

Some great restaurants and stores. Many options for other entertainment all the time. Movies as well as live entertainment everyday and Open Market every week.

Quaint Atmosphere

By jmeddick |

The square has a small town feel with shops and restaurants all around. It needs some more shaded areas to protect people from the sun during the entertainment.

Enjoyable

By Aleta w |

Nice place to hang out, have a meal, enjoy music and relax. They also have clothes shopping, wine shops and a dinner clyb.

Spent 1 night near Spanish Springs Town Center

By Don K |

The town center is happening at night. Live music and they have outdoor bar with happy hour prices. The people in the Villages love to dance and have fun. Plenty of food and shopping choices.

Free music and entertainment every night of the year.

By Jackie K |

The Spanish Springs Town Square is just beautiful. It has seating areas, dancing areas, a stage for entertainment, fountains and pools, live jasmine perfume the air. The Square at Spanish Springs is best enjoyed Child Free, as most of the residents are 55+ years old with health issues that go along with this age group. Children under foot or running around or jumping are a great danger to our health, as are distracted parents pushing carriages running into us and over us. The VIllages were created for 55+ age group. Disney was created for kids and parents. There is no reason to impose your offspring upon us in our own community.

Newly created "downtown"

A Wide variety of shopping, dining and entertainment experiences. Plenty of parking, easily walkable.

The Villages - Spanish Springs Town Square

By Palmtree1228 |

Spanish Springs was the first of three town squares built in The Villages, FL. It is truly reminiscent of its name with beautiful old world architecture. The square is surrounded by several great restaurants and a variety of shops. A very nice place to spend an evening with live music provided from 5 to 9 PM, 365 days a year.

Great, Fun Experience!

By CGull2 |

Visiting Spanish Springs Town Square is the main reason we decided to move to the Villages. Lovely shops and great restaurants. The nightly entertainment is amazing. Definitely worth visiting as well as the Villages other Squares!

A great place to dance or listen to great music.

By Randy C |

Grab a meal or snack, a happy hour drink and listen to music and dance under the stars. We really enjoy going there after an early movie.

SIMPLY A GREAT PLACE TO VISIT!

By Harry M |

This is the oldest of 3 entertainment/business town squares in The Villages and is 100% occupied with shops, bars and restaurants. There's fine dining w/Demshars, fun w/ Margaritaville, the best fried chicken at McCalls Tavern and good food at Americanos (Greek/American), World of Beer and TooJay's Deli (a real delight), and 4-5 more. Shopping includes several very nice boutiques and women's stores, some trendy shops, a 6-screen movie theater and "The Sharon", a 1,000 seat state-of-the-art performing art's theater. The "Square" itself has live music from 4-9pm 365 days a year, along with reasonably-priced drink kiosks. The bands, for listening and dancing, vary in size and genre, and are always good. Spanish Springs Town Square IS The Villages.

food, shops, booze, entertainment nightly

By William R |

Oldest of the town squares in The Villages which is not necessarily a bad thing. Like the others it has nightly entertainment from 5-9 and you can go online to see what it is going to be. Shop, eat and drink during the day as well as night. Most folks are nice to be around, but not all.

Closest Square to us

By DianaBTravels |

We are temporary residents of The Villages and this is the closest Square to our location. It is a fun place to go, with several good restaurants, cute shops and evening entertainment. Weekends the square may host a craft fair or auto show or farmer's market, et al. I highly recommend that anyone coming to The Villages should visit this square.

Nice place to hangout even if your under "55"..

By eL Dude' |

My wife and I were out and about last saturday and ran across this place. There happened to be a car show on the square. Its pretty cool, live band, full bar and people of all ages.
Several places to eat and drink. Plenty of golf carts running around too.

So much fun

By Starviagera |

Everybody is young here! Dancing, restaurants or just walk around. No walkers or wheels chairs for the old folks here!

Fun and very relaxing.

By kevinkelly213 |

Don't miss this daily one of a kind spot. Stroll the square and shop in a carefree environment. Top off your evening at a great little treasure.....The Corkscrew.

Weird vibes here

By Bangkokgirl2018 |

Took a drive here from Durango last week. I really got weird vibes here.
It felt like a cult town. Not sure what cult but, something was off.
We stayed for a hour and left.
Didn’t even take photos.

Great Town Square

This is my favorite square in the Villages, Old town feeling. Sit at Dunkin Donuts and listen to the music. Great shopping area.

One of the best places you can visit when in the Villages

By Jerry H |

This Town Square is among the best there is when it comes to dancing and food for a night of FUN.If you are ever in the area make sure you stop in to this Square after 5 pm till 9 PM .Live bands and dancing food and drinks. Oh yes did i tell you most people come by Golf Carts .This is the Villages lifestyle 365 days a year and if it's not your style of music there are 2 other place with Squares not far away .

People can’t follow rules.

By GaryWT |

So after a bad restaurant experience I walk over to the square to listen to music and try to calm down. As I sit listening to the music someone sits next to me and lights a cigar. It smells up the place. Outer sidewalk to smoke but not him. I had to leave so on my way out I yell at him and told him he sucked. If people can’t follow the rules then smoking should be ban from the entire square.

Nice Stroll

By Debbie C |

It felt a little like walking around in a small Mexican plaza with nice shops, restaurants, fountains and coffee. Carts and cars park together so beware of the mixed traffic. It was enjoyable on a sunny afternoon.

Dancing on the square

By markcS2058XE |

Six of us vetured out to see the entertainment. The square had several hundred people out to listen and dance to the music. Drinks were very reasonable during happy hour.

Golf cart purchase

By hulasuz |

Went in to look at a new golf cart and
met Sharon Star. I got excellent service and a great deal on a cart. Tell her I sent you! (Purple cart)

Oldest town square

By AndyB5542 |

We went up to Spanish Springs to check it out. We were lucky that they were having a classic car show. It was neat to see the cars, but the downside was that it was really crowded.

There is plenty of parking in the area, restaurants to eat at, and shops for shopping.

There was a live band playing (every night).

Music and dancing

By Mark C |

Spent a couple of hours enjoying the live music from Dance Express. Many families and couple dancing outside in the square. Stand in line for happy hour if you wish.
.chairs provided.
Bring your cushion and be more comfortable
Good time Try it..

Life is great here at The Villages

By yonghan001 |

Sunset can be the most beautiful time of the day and it is very true here at Spanish Square Town Center in The Villages. Just before the sunset, many people are gathering at the center of the square and waiting for the music to start. Surrounded by the beautiful flower beds and water fountains, many folks enjoy conversation with family members and friends. Some people start dancing with the music and their faces are filled with joy and happiness. Life is great here!

Fun Place to Dance 5-9pm

By hoho92649 |

Nice to visit and see different shops and restaurants with spanish style looks as well as seeing lots of golf carts. As if you are in a different world.

Mind the Golf Carts!

By MG L |

The Villages are like another world. The Spanish Springs lends a Spanish hacienda ambience to this particular village. Each village has its own theme. There are plenty of restaurants surrounding the square. We drove thru carefully to mind the golf carts coming to and fro. Fun to watch!

Lots of restaurants

By Maritza C |

Great place to go and hang out and plenty of restaurants to choose from. My family enjoyed it here. Next time I’m in town I will definitely visit here again.

Always something to do here

By Tina T |

Spanish Springs is one of three community squares in The Villages. With free live entertainment every evening from 5 to 9pm, the square has plenty of seating to sit and listen to the band or people watch. The majority of the square is open for dancing and usually filled not only with seniors, but with adults of all ages and children too. There are outside bars. If you are looking for indoor entertainment, there is a bowling alley and The Rialto Theater offers the most current movies as well as a variety of documentaries and faith based movies. The Sharon Center is a 1000 plus seat theater with a diverse offering of concerts, Broadway hits and more. They do sell alcohol and soft beverages.there are a number of restaurants, inluding Dunking Donuts, Panera, Toojays, Ruby Tuesday, Flippers Pizza, Amerikanos, Demshars, Margarita Republic, Gators, McCallisters and Kilwins Ice Cream and Candy. There are a number of retail shops as well, I ncluding Talbots, Chico and Soma. Definitely worth checking out.

Village Visit

By Bette P |

Went to help a friends friend that had already moved from the area, get her belongings. Stayed at the lakeside inn. Beautiful room and weekly day price was excellent. Weekend price was pretty spendy. Restaurant grouper was great husbands soup was cold and burger luke warm.
Probably not going back because the Villages are not for me. Too spread out and traffic in each village to congested. Hard to find one village from the other.
May be good for some.
Did enjoy the two days while we were there.

Nope, not for us!

By baxter703 |

Not dog friendly. None of the restaurants allow dogs on their patios. Retail stores post that dogs aren't allowed. Other than two lovely bartenders at the square on Fri night at 6pm, not impressive. We took our tourist dollars elsewhere.

Very nice

By Aggies23 |

Very nice place to go . There’s entertainment on the square every night . It’s an old setting . The people are very friendly . There many of places to go into along with many of places to stop and eat or have a drink .

This is one of 3 Town Squares in The Villages, FL, which provides lives music 365 days a year from 5-9, weather permitting. Each Square is surrounded by shops, restaurants, bars, etc. so there’s something for everyone! Special events are held at each Square regularly such as Car Shows, holiday events, etc. Love life in The Villages!!! (I live here so this wasn’t just a visit.....)

Good Variety!

By FloridaLady |

This Village of Spanish Springs has enough to do without ever leaving the community. There are great restaurants, shopping (some high end stores), bowling and a movie theater. Live entertainment every night is a big draw and a nice place to unwind. There is always a lot of activity here and a fun place to visit.

A happening place every evening.

By roger t |

We love the nightly FREE musical concerts on the town squares. The weather is typically great. But get there early and bring your own chairs.

Dinner Date with Hubby

By Darleen R |

Every 2-3 weeks, hubby and I love to go to Macalls for the best chicken dinner. Hubby gets the full chicken dinner and I get 2 drum sticks and a wonderful fresh salad. He gives me the breast and I give him one chicken leg. The bartenders and waitresses are the best and very friendly. We love it there. We have been going there regularly 5 years and will continue to do so.
They have various entertainment on different

Oldie and a goodie

By Mick H |

The Spanish Springs Town Square is the oldest of the three town squares in The Villages and is the most attractive.
The nightly entertainment is high quality and is generally tuned toward the villagers generations. It’s a real thrill to see the masses of old folks dancing and having a good time. The competition often gets a little raucous regarding saved seats.
There are “bait shacks” on the corners of the square serving libation at rock bottom prices.
Once a week it hosts a farmer market during a morning and once a week the square is rimmed with vendors peddling their wares.
At 9 O’clock the entertainment shuts down and all,of the shops surrounding the square follow suit.
One Saturday a month, there is a car show that is fairly outstanding. Car collectors from miles around bring some of their beautiful autos for villagers to see and lust over.
This is a super place that brings many folks together. A real asset!

Fun Theme

By J G |

All of the town squares in The Villages are unique and fun. This one has particularly interesting architecture with the water feature and pool.

Such a cute place if you avoid the crazy rude golf cart drivers

By momoffivekiddos |

We stopped by a restaurant here for lunch. It was such a cute little common area and we just loved walking around. The only problem was the exceptionally rude and crazy golf cart drivers that would speed at you like they were going to run you over. Just arrogant nasty behavior that should be monitored and stopped as someone is going to end up getting hurt.

The hooligans

By curves4carol |

The hooligans band. This is my favorite town Square in The Villages Florida. It is just a golf cart ride away from my home. Plenty of stores to shop in, the gazebo where the band plays is easily seen from most of the seating.
There is normally plenty of seating with some shade. Tuesday night is market night and so much fun to shop.

<3 Spanish Springs

By Kiki C |

We love the hustle and bustle of Spanish Springs. The nightly entertainment is wonderful and the restaurants are amazing. We start our day at Dunkin Donuts where we share a table with whomever is around or perhaps a bite at Cafe Americana.
There are shops in the town square or just up the street at the strip stores. Although the other Town Centers are just a short golf cart ride away SS is our favorite spot at the Villages.

Nice to look around

By dreamer_in_dreamer |

Ok but it was Sunday some places not open
Many clothing stores but also many stores empty, closed up made it look cheap and washed up.

Bouncing fun with friends!!!

By Russ F |

Being introduced to the Villages by Bounce Bonnie Stuart is just so awesome! She is creating such a great Boumce community there.! There are 3
Town squares and live music in each one every night. Bounce for these active Seniors is all about having fun and making exercise fun and making it not
feel like exercise at all! They just love to dance, smile and bounce the night away. Can’t wait to duplicate this at adult communities around the world!!!

A lively town square

By _ssroy1 |

What A fun place to bring our friends by golf cart. The music from the band in the gazebo was great! The place was jumping, and it wasn't even market night. People were dancing and Happy Hour at the 2 bars at the Squre is from 5-7 PM nightly. There are shops surrounding the Square and plenty of restaurants. When in the Villages, a great place to spend some time

Nice night out

By KCfromKCNY |

The music was good, drinks were reasonable. The only problem it was really cold outside. Would have been nice if they served food.

Love the looks.

By Alex F |

As a Hispanic, I feel like in an small plaza in a village or town in Hispanic heritage location. Just need a couple of big trees to protect visitor from the central Florida sun in the summer.

Get caught up in the magic of Spanish Springs.

By exclusivelyjoann |

Currently a Villager, Spanish Springs remains my favorite square of the three squares here in The Villages. My first visit to The Villages coming in via Main Street and stopping in to make a phone call, I was sold on the Villages the minute I saw all the fun and excitement going on in the middle of the week in the early evening. Wow.

Very active evenings!

By ChicagoDina11 |

We enjoyed the entertainment at this town square the most but it was quite a distance from where we were staying. So many people having a great time together!!

Monthly Car show

By Mel W |

Great selection of cars from the early 19th century right up to the 1980's. This is a must see for any car buffs. And it happens every month

Great place to “people watch”

By Rob W |

There is certainly lots of people watching available in the square. The village people never let you down as far as that goes. The square has live music from time to time and quite a few restaurants in the nearby area. Watch out for the golf carts though. They usually don’t watch out for you!

Fun Night Out with Friends

By David E |

Every time we visit our friends in The Villages, an evening trip to Spanish Springs Town Square is always high on our must do list. Entertainment is always top notch. Love the line dancing. Happy hour good too if you don't mind standing in line for a beverage. Plenty of great restaurants for dining. Great people watching.

Beautiful Area

By Tom |

I think of all the town squares and motifs at the Villages, Spanish Springs is our favorite. Great shops and friendly staff in the stores.

By dennisdoiron |

It is always nice. The first thing you notice is the water display. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from.

A retirement dream come true

By r0bster38 |

This is in a 55 + community called the villages that has a lot to offer.
The Spanish springs town square offers a lot of restaurants, shopping and entertainment.
The villages have other town squares that also offer a lot of thing that you can explore.
I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Fun place to roam and dine

By kuni_led |

The place is always alive when the sun is out. Too many things to do and margarita stalls are everywhere. Music playing, people dancing and food being served everywhere! We will definitely come back!

Fun night and great band

By marylouc407 |

The square was very crowded but easily accessible to all. I use a mobility scooter and was unsure if I would have access to the entertainment and restaurants and was pleasantly surprised that everything was so easy to get to. There are several free parking lots all around the square. While the band is playing there are multiple stands with happy hour drink prices. Very reasonable and a fun time was had by everyone.

Great Visit

By Captain Wise |

We loved the Spanish Springs atmosphere. The folks are friendly and all the restaurant staff are great. We enjoyed parking our golf cart and listening to the wonderful music for all ages or hanging out at Bella Vita directly across from the square while dining.

Just enjoying the evening

By Debbie P |

We love going to booth nite and listen to the music. We also enjoy going out to eat at the restaurants around the square.

A nice place to spend an hour or so walking through

By Ed B |

Spanish Springs is one of the three town squares in The Villages. there are several restaurants as well as shopping. We had lunch yesterday, got a haircut, went to Kilwin's for some sweets and just walked around. All in all, a nice place to waste an hour or two. also, there is entertainment nightly from 5-8pm. Unfortunately, we could not stay for that.

Great music and dancing

By BayCitygal66 |

We spent a lovely evening listening to Rocky and the Rollers in the town square. You need to get their early to be assured of getting a seat or bring your own. They also have vendors selling their ware surrounding the square. The night we were there the drinks starting at 5:00 pm were 2 for 1 but the line was ridiculously long. I suggest if you want a drink to get in line early. We went back another evening and I noticed that people started to line up before 5:00 and then they were the first ones to get a drink. It was a relaxing evening and we enjoyed watching everyone dance.

Music and dancing on the square

By Maureen S |

Nice music. It's fun to "people watch" on the square. Usually the music is soft rock, country, or oldies, a perfect fit for the 55 + crowd. Lots of dancing.

Wonderful Square to enjoy the daily show

By Pedro C |

Love the old Spanish decor all throughout the square, great daily shows between 5 pm and 9 pm, wonderful artists that you can dance all through, when you want to relax there are plenty of restaurants, bars etc all through out the square, during intermission we had a calzone at Flippers which was Outstanding.

Miles of smiles

By Brenda S |

This town square with its live Friday night entertainment was bustling with activity and with every retiree within miles. I’ve truly never seen so many types of golf carts & old people in my life. You have your dancers and the chair sitting toe tapping music enthusiasts all vying for the closest spot to the stage - and these people were happy! Lately, with covid, it seems people are angry & frustrated. That seems to have bypassed The Villages. My suggestion is to buy a golf cart, grab a lawn chair & get your emotional high people watching in the town square of the villages. It’s a hoot!

gottal love our square

By Toniree |

This is an awesome place to come if you are staying in one of the hotels around 441 and The Villages as you can walk around the shops, eat on the patios of the restaurants and even listen to the FREE music on the square each and eery night including holidays and weel ends. The pavalion offers 2 for 1 drinks from 5 to 7 and the music is FREE from 5 to 9. Chairs are povided and you can even line dance or partner dance or just dabce by yourself all night long. One of my favorite things to do here. You can get food from donuts to coffee, bar type food, deli options sandwiches and fries, pizza or a deliciousupscale meal in Katie Bells or Demshire. Come join the Cruise Ins and special nights we hae here also. Just a great place to visit and have fun.

Music & Dance

We live close by and it is always a fun time with different music offered and line dancing that you can enjoy doing or just watching. What a delight to see all generations enjoying themselves.

Dance to Your Heart's Desire

By Janet S |

If you live in the Villages or nearby and like to listen to music or dance; this is your spot. There is music on the square every night 5-9 p.m. and you can dance the night away whether - till 9 p.m. that is - whether you are a couple, a group of girls, an individual, and grandparent with grandkids; here it matters not. If you wish to partake of alcoholic or even non-alcoholic libations there are two (2) bars with great happy hour prices. And, if you wish to continue your dancing past 9 p.m. there are a couple of places on the square that you can mosey on over to after 9 p.m. Music and bands vary from night to night, but there every night but Christmas Day. And, you are in sunny FL so the attire is always casual. And, for any holiday, there is usually a themed activity going on.

Really liked the live music last night-heavier rock group

By FMB2016 |

Vendor's night last night and great music. Went down to pick up a sign my dad had ordered and really enjoyed the ambience.

Very beautiful and fun

By GaryWT |

At first, 8 years ago, we were not sure about Spanish Springs as to whether we liked it or not. We have come to love it as much as the other squares over time. They have some great events and activities here which we enjoy. In addition to the town square there is plenty of shopping next door.

As I read various reviews I can say the we Villages are so lucky that not everyone likes it here which is great since some think they are above us and complain about everything. To the point, a bad review is ok but to state since they don’t like something and anyone that does is clueless or out of there mind etc. we love the Villages and don’t mind if people leave because they don’t like it.

Smallest and oldest of the three squares.

By Cynmueller |

Very quaint square. The atmosphere is very different and smaller space makes it feel crowded. It’s nice but one whole corner is wasted space with a huge fountain taking away space for people to sit in the square. This square does have several good restaurants.

Fabulous!

By mapa |

The VIllages is a wonderful place. the town squares are fabulous. great music, good food, theaters and lots of really happy and friendly people.

DJ Scooter is the best!

By Meg M |

We enjoyed some live entertainment by DJ Scooter which was hilarious since we are in our 30's. To see all of the older folks get up and dance was great! DJ Scooter kept the crowd dancing and smiling for 4 straight hours. Spanish Springs was a great area downtown that seemed very clean and well kept. Cannot wait to return next fall!

Lively town square

By Golferboy18 |

This is a very busy and lively town square with many, many seats set up all around it. The night we were there, the band was playing Jimmy Buffet music. Lots of people were dancing. Parking for golf carts is at a premium, but everyone seems to find a spot. There were long lines at the happy hour kiosks throughout the time we were there. It's a fun and lively spot.

Great Entertainment Nightly

By RLWOrangePark |

This Square is the hub of The Villages with numerous restaurants (serving a wide variety of food), shops, movie theatre, etc. but the biggest draw is the nightly entertainment that brings in huge crowds every night, seven days a week. Very good entertainment, mostly in the form of "Oldies" bands (1950s through 1980s music) and occasionally country, play every night from 5-9 PM. Seats are available but many of the locals bring their own portable chairs as the several hundred seats fill up very quickly as do the parking spots (mostly with golf carts). Happy hour prices (very inexpensive) are offered from 5-7 PM. During the daytime it is not as crowded but the restaurants appear to have a very good lunch crowd.

Good restaurants, shopping, entertainment

By FLGIRL |

I prefer Sumter Landing the most but this square comes in second of the Villages. It is very well decorated in the theme of a Spanish square. The nightly entertainment allows for all to come listen, dance, and/or drink (the alcohol must be purchased by one of the venders located on the corners of the square), plenty of restaurants either right on the Main Street or surrounding streets, and plenty of shops. Bring your own chair or use one they provide and enjoy the music starting around 5 pm.

High End Suburb

By GeneG547 |

Spanish Springs has the feel of a high end suburb. Building in Spanish style. Multiple restaurants and businesses surround it. Music and dancing every night. The Sharon is located there for larger (paid) shows. We saw The Russian National Ballet which was very nice.

Many fun things here

By marylou0115 |

Great restaurants, fun stores and entertainment every night. Pretty town square with free music and dancing every night.

Love the Villages

By bhendricks7 |

It's amazing how organized the Villages entertainment Dept is. They always have good entertainment. It is always family oriented and of excellent quality.

Dreamersdoit step back to a Spanish town

By Dreamersdoit |

It feels like I returned to an old Spanish city. A collection of Spanish decorated properties and restaurants. Golf carts and nice places to eat inside and out.

There is a large town square with free nightly music 5:30 to 9:00 pm.

Super place to visit every weekend or week night. Live entertainment, local eateries. Some chains.

By Charles C |

Did the Monthly Cruise-In which is the third Saturday of every month. Over 220 classic cars. Worth the trip!

Nice music and dancing on weekends-needs to get info to tourists

By teresap118 |

We were here visiting recently and wanted to see what the area was like but found there are not any commercial information books as to what is in the area. The "Disney hotel" we stayed in had not information on this area we found it by chance on Google. We went there in an evening and there was music and dancing which was nice but as far as parking the locals take it up with their golf carts. There are some nice shops here and some restaurants as well to visit. we went back the next day on a week day and no music. Again we went early to get parking this time to beat the locals for parking or the golf carts get it all. They have a lot of round a bout roads here too but you can drive in a circle and find your way around. NEED to tell visitors what their is available and when. Never saw any trolley as mentioned.

Love Spanish Springs

By LouAnn R |

Love, love love Spanish Springs. The architecture is just neat. The Car Shows on the third Saturday of month is really nice. Great place for food or a little shopping.

“Disney for Adults”

By JpDrumr |

What a great experience; “goin ta town” like the “good ole days” !!! Stroll the streets, with sidewalks for walkers & window shoppers, & visit the stores & eateries at will. The southern atmosphere, with the big elegant shade trees, and spanish moss, lend to relaxing, enjoyable visit.

Spainsh Springs Town Sqaure

By Doug and Cindy S |

Wonderful! Wonderful shops, lots of parking, the Town Square has dancing most Wednesday nights and what a great way to exercise. Get up and Dance.

Great shopping and restaurants

By NCluvtrav |

There are 3 centers in the Villages and I find this one to be my second favorite. Top on my list is the selection of shops. I am a Talbots fan and they have a lovely store there. Have eaten at two of the restaurants at this square, most recently Mc Calls Tavern. Please see its separate review. This center also has a bowling alley. Each evening there is entertainment. Came last year to Cinco de Mayo and that was a blast. Kilwins too for your chocolate fix, Dunkin Donuts for their super coffee and donuts. You cannot go wrong this your visit to this square.

Show, Dinner, Stroll, & Music

By Patsy O |

We frequent the Sharon Performing Arts Center and when we have an early show we enjoy going for dinner after. After a show we really dont want to sit on the square with the louder square performance.
So we strolled to McCalls and enjoyed their wonderful fried chicken dinner on their front patio. We could hear music bit it was a nice distance. If you love southern fried chicken, mashed real potatoes with white chicken gravy, amazing green beans in ham, onions, this is the place. Their ice tea is great also. Be prepared though, it's 20 min for the chicken.
We then strolled back to square and listened to the rest of the evening music until closing.
Just love The Villages.

Music every night

By CovertChick9903 |

There are three squares in The Villages, FL. Music begins at 5 pm & ends at 9pm. Buggy parking (golf carts) -booths/vendors...many signs to buy for your property. General public attends, brings pets and participate in line dancing. Restaurants and specialty shops.

Fun, Fun, Fun

Great place to visit while you're at the Villages. Entertainment, vendors with inexpensive stuff, drinks & dancing. The place is immaculate & everyone is friendly.

BEAUTIFUL WITH A HISTORIC FEEL TO IT

By packer221 |

Excellent place to meet - a TWO HOUR happy hour. Great entertainment, restaurants and shopping. Gets crowded but people are nice and everyone has a good time

Beautiful, Clean and a LOT of Fun!

By ExploreMore |

Each night we are in the Villages we try our best to get down to the square for the live music. The water features are very pretty. The atmosphere is energetic and so so fun! There are 2 drink carts with lots of choices and fairly reasonable prices. The music is different each night. Lots of people dance and everyone is having a great time. We love talking to new people, dancing, laughing and enjoying the gorgeous weather.

Spanish springs happenings

By Emily G |

Nightly entertainment for people of all ages. Great bands and opportunities to dance the night away. During the non-summer seasons, Thursday Farmers market is a must to go to. The vintage cars are on display once a month. Brings back lots of memories

Spanish Springs Town Square is Great Style and Ambiance

By Glen W |

The Spanish Springs Town Square is very interesting with the combination of stores and restaurants. A great place for a stroll on a warm evening. My wife and I with friends visited when there was an antique car show going on in the square. A great collection of old vintage cars from the 50s and 60s that are restored to immaculate condition. Brings back memories. There is entertainment in the square as well and a place to buy mixed drinks, wines, beer, etc. What is unusual is you can walk around the area with a drink in your hand. This is good place to go for a nice evening of fun and food.

Very Enjoyable

By GaryWT |

Spent a little more time here and enjoyed some restaurants and the best fudge store. The center is very nice just not a big fan of the surrounding area as it is older and not quite as easy to get around. It is a fun place if a good band is playing but can get crowded.

Go back in time!

By mariecL6736AI |

I love this square! The Sharon theater, once the cathedral,Katie Belles, restaurants circle this square complete with water flowing on the side!live music every night 5-9.Market days twice a week, special events,a movie complex and kelvin’s fudge, chocolate candy, caramel apples and ice cream, all homemade help to make it the place to go! Recently was here and heard group heart and soul sing with some other local personalities. Awesome time. Lisa Cohen was awesome her voice is like an angel. She came out and interacted with the people. She made everyone feel welcome. The other singers were great too they also came around and made the people feel good.

Visit Spanish Springs!

By LouAnn R |

Spanish Springs is a great Village in The Villages. It has everything! Shopping, restaurants, movie theater, and great music 365 days out of the year in the Square. We visited often in January and February 2019.

Music, activities and shopping

By teachinginasia |

Nightly entertainment, restaurants, and shops surround this area. There is a gym and bowling as well. A great place to take visitors or meet friends.

Dated and vacant

By Mwar1004 |

This is one of the first town squares and therefore it is more dated. They did a nice job with the surrounding buildings and the Spanish theme. The walls around the square are made to look like sacked brick or something but to me it resembles snow. It would be nice to see them update that. There’s most of the same stores available as the other squares but some vacancies. You usually have a good crowd here and it feels a little like south beach in my opinion.

Lively

By elshacko |

Always seems to be something going on there, day or night. It is clean and comfortable. The only thing that sets me off is the continuous line dancing, night after night, year after year, but that is not the fault of the Town Square, it's the people who keep doing it as if robots.

A location of wonderful entertainment and food

By scs2984 |

This town square offers free daily entertainment by good performers and is surrounded by very good and diverse resturants.

Our "Little" Town Square.

By Gary A |

Spanish Springs is the oldest of the 3 Villages Town Squares. And being an easy 10 minute golf cart ride from our home, we've spent lots of time there, since moving here in 2009.

Each of the 3 Villages Squares has all you might want for fun, food & entertainment, pleasant walking areas, free parking...365 days a year! An assortment of restaurants, stores, movie theatres, nightly live entertainment, farmers markets and vendor markets - not to mention festivals and classic car shows. Day or night, there always seems to be something going on at the town squares. Hotel accommodations also available within close walking distance.

The squares are kept spotlessly clean and smoke free, which contributes to the great comfortable atmosphere for all events, particularly the evening concerts - where everyone from toddlers to super-seniors dance the night away. Free comfortable seating is provided; but, if you want a good seat/view to one of your favorite bands, come early for the 5-9PM show.

Law enforcement maintains a steady subtle presence at the squares, particularly Spanish Springs which seems to draw more younger locals, particularly for partying on weekend nights. During peak season, when the snowbirds are in town - the squares sometimes get real crowded, once again, mostly on weekends when a popular band is playing.

Fun

The American Martian band was amazing so entertaining and very relevant music all great songs every band member has talent
Thoroughly enjoyed it

Third Saturday Cruise In !

By Villagesre |

Visited this town square last Saturday for the monthly classic car Cruise In. This event has been going on here for close to 20 years, and has grown tremendously. Always enjoy the old cars on display, and chatting with the owners. Brings back many memories. here are also many places to grab a cold drink and a meal right on the square. Very enjoyable way to spend several hours. The show starts at 4pm, but the cars are showing up by 3pm and getting in line for their parking spaces.

Nice place

By Golfer0222 |

Nice town square. Plenty of different restaurants so you have a choice of foods. Lots of shopping around the square. The Sharon performing arts center is excellent and many named performers. Music and dancing every night from 5 to 9. Monday and Wednesday night is vendor night, lots of items available. Thursday morning is market day for fresh vegetables and fruits and bread along with many other items.

The Villages of Florida

By NJfromDelray |

You can deffinately make the villages a day trip for those living in Florida or a minimum of 4 days if your staying to possibly become a resident, there is so much to see and do. I will begin with the 3 and soon to be 4 squares that are there with many shops and sights to see. You can rent a golf cart while staying there its the best way to get around. In the villages happy hour begins at 11:30 at all the clubs and bars, if that is what you choose. There are many fine restaurants to dine at in all the squares. There are recreation centers but you will need a day pass to be able to use them, stop off at the sales office to inquire or a call to them can save you time. To save the ware and tear on your car there is a guided tour, which I believe is free. There are factory outlets close by, many brand names stores and many that will fit any pocket book Great places to walk around and don't forget to hit all those side streets for stores you don't want to miss. Talk to the people there ask them about the villages, they are all very friendly. They have their own radio station,WVLJ 640 MA on your dial, pick up a newspaper for added information THE VILLAGE SUN newspaper. Each month they feature something different then the previous. They have flea markets in all 3 squares, that you don't want to miss. They have weekend special events on their pologrounds, like classic cars fancy golf carts, like you probably have never seen before, they are a must see oh and while on that if you want one made for you they have a manufacturer right there, but to do that you must have deep pockets, they can go as high as $20,000 plus. I hope this has helped someone who is going to visit. Enjoy.

Met our English friends and drove our golf carts to the Square. Last night Chuck Berrios Impulse was performing. They were fantastic! We bought our HAPPY Hour drinks and just kept on dancing. A must place to go with your family and friends when in the northern part of the Villages.

Great venue to spend an afternoon

By JT03 |

On our recent visit to The Villages, our first stop was at Spanish Springs town square. When we arrived they were having a craft show, so all the roads in the square were filled with tents and patrons. We visited the next day and the tents were gone, leaving only the square itself, which is laid out to let you sit, relax, enjoy the weather, each other until the live band starts playing. We were very impressed. There's tons of shopping and restaurants just a few minutes away by foot.

Great entertainment

By davidm19462015 |

We visit this place almost every evening. They have live bands or live entertainment every night of the week. Great place to dance or just listen to the music. Plenty of outdoor seating with comfortable chairs. A great way to relax and enjoy the fun.

Nice spot to walk around, shop, eat, people watch.

By J D |

Always bring friends to walk around the square, little shopping, very good restaurants with great food, relaxing atmosphere to people watch.

Of all our squares I love Spanish Springs the most.

By Tom B |

The Spanish Springs Square was a labor of love. The Schwartz/Morse family built this square first, the attention to detail is evident and obvious.

The fountains provide a soothing background noise, the large new canopy umbrellas provide relief from the heat and shelter from the Sun.

The stores surrounding the square are traditional Village stores with the practicle mixed in with the not so essential touristy stuff.

Two great market nights Mondays and Wednesdays , with dancing nightly complete the entertainment schedule except for special events, car shows and craft fairs.

Afternoon at Spanish Springs Town Square

By Phil |

Great afternoon at the Town Square. Enjoyed the shopping and choices for eating. While the oldest of the town squares it was still well maintained. Unique experience seeing all the golf carts :)

First time to The Villages

By Maureen S |

We were visiting some friends and they took us to the Happy Hour at the Spanish Springs Town Square. What a busy place, most people drive their golf carts here and the square has an entertainment and happy hour at the Town Square int the middle of the area. Everyone comes early in order to get seats and there is always live music until 9 pm. The drinks are 2 for 1 and the entertainment is very good with plenty of room for dancing.

Going into the Villages Town Squares is always a fun time, from the various restaurants, entertainment, shops and just walking around and enjoying the sights. You will never get bored. What is really great about it is that you don't have to live in The Villages to enjoy it!

Be careful, homeless hanging out

By Winegirl52 |

We encountered a homeless man there today -- asked us for money, we told him no. He sat there and stared at us the entire time we ate our meal. VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. Found out the restaurant where we were was going to fee him. I don't agree with this, sorry. I pay for my meal, another person can stare at me and make me feel uncomfortable and get free food. Watch out, The Villages, you are creating a trend here.

Fabulous Square in The Villages

By JRfromPA |

My favorite Square in The Villages! Gives you that Old Southern Feeling. Happy hour from 5 to 7. Plenty of Super Restaurants. You can't go wrong for a night out at Spanish Springs Town Square.

Tom's visiting relatives loved Spanish Springs.

By Janis H-P |

Tom's visiting relatives loved Spanish Springs, The Town Square, the water flowing behind them as we sat and enjoyed the music in the warm Florida sunshine. Tom's daughter Vicki remarked about the quaint and appealing architecture of the area.
We shopped in the area too...a 'must' for me is to visit The Tervis Tumbler store and buy another mug.

In the category for type of visit below...none available applied We are family but we are 4 adults...not children or teens.

Music

A fun spot to spend happy hour (5:00 to 7:00)

Dancing in the evening.

By healthworkshi |

Wonderful place with a pretty view, and great dancing in the evening. There's shopping and food too.

Wonderful shops

By Turtle Reviews |

This is a wonderful place to walk round and do alittle shopping at. Not to mention they have free live music at night. I highly recommend you to come on out and walk this area. They have a lot of good. Arguably the best food in the villages compared to the other town centers not to mention they have a Panera. This might be the first one they built but I have to say for places to walk your dog or just walk around with your family this is a wonderful little spot.

Monthly Show and Shine

By Mel W |

We went to the square for the car show and were not disappointed. The people that were there were more than happy to show off their vehicles and tell the stories behind them. This show is well worth the visit and it happens each month.

Beautiful Outdoor Venue

By Carolyn H |

Went for Fat Tuesday party. Very crowded, but easy to find parking. The happy hour lasts for 2 hours. I appreciate the top shelf liquors, but there is only one wine and it's not a good one. Lots of nice shops.

Fountain of “something”

By Ron O |

The Villages first town square is where you’ll find nightly activities ranging from tier 1 shows to the ever present line dancers. Be sure to check out one of the monthly weekend car shows - doesn’t matter which month, they’re usually the same cars. Keep a lookout for the Villages cheerleaders!

We went to the car show, held in June, and were pleasantly surprised with how awesome the entertainment was. The live band was so good that everyone, young and old, were on their feet dancing and swaying to the tunes. There was a nice variety of restaurants and shops. We had a very enjoyable evening and understand that there is entertainment every night. Definitely a place to return to.

My Town Square

By Jim E |

I live about 1/4 mile from Spanish Springs Town Square in The Villages. It is the first of three Squares in TV and, for me at least, the one with the best small town feel. In fact, I chose the location of my home based on its proximity to Spanish Springs. It has great restaurants and shopping options, nightly music, and a first class theatre (The Sharon). The other squares have their own personality with many great amenities, but Spanish Springs will always be home to me.

Great Town Square to visit if in the area

By Tony V |

Many restaurants and stores to shop circle the square. Entertainment is available every evening between 5 and 9 pm. For refreshments during music 2 drink kiosk are open at two corners of the square with happy hour 5-6 each evening. The third Saturday of each month you much attend the cruise in from 4-9. I've been hanging out every morning in front of Dunking Donuts for coffee and to discuss world affairs. Plenty of parking for cars and golf carts on the street and behind the buildings.

Nothing like it

Amazing to see hundreds of mature adults after dark partying like they are teenagers! What a unique world this is!

My Favorite Square

Between Chico’s, Soma, and the newly added Soft Surroundings this is my favorite Square. Oh, and Kilwin’s for ice cream and treats!

Don’t forget to stop for margaritas and chips and salsa at Ay Jalisco!

Year-round fun

Spanish Springs town square is the first of the 3 squares in The Villages, FL. There is free musical entertainment every night of the year, weather permitting. Most of the music is live though some is DJ's playing recorded music. The range of genres appeals to a wide variety of interests. Surrounding the open square itself are a variety of eating & drinking establishments, specialty shops, etc. A great place to spend an inexpensive evening.
