Beautiful church. The grounds were lively and well kept. The church was amazing in simplicity and beautiful old wood and stained glass. The outside worship section had awesome views!

We attended the last outdoor service of the summer season. It was so beautiful. It also happened to be our wedding anniversary and my birthday. I can't imagine a better way to start our special day. A beautiful memory for us for sure.

There is parking and good views. The church is historic and beautiful. It is worth a brief stop as you drive Ocean Avenue.

This is a beautiful old stone church. Very quiet and peaceful location. Beautiful shore front location. Church attended by the Bush family.

The trolley tour was the best and only way to see the sights. The driver and tour guide knew the city backward and forwards

What a beautiful and peaceful place to visit! The views are spectacular! We had a great time! Definitely get out and walk!

Saint Ann's Church is a beautiful historic building. Beautiful stained glass windows and wonderful craftmanship. The outdoor area for services overlooking the ocean is wonderful.

Peaceful and serene...you will never feel closer to God than in a church like this. Seeing the tie to the Bush family was very interesting.

We were walking up Ocean Avenue and stumbled upon this place. So serene and gorgeous grounds and views by the ocean. Not crowded and. A great place to watch the sunset. Go into the church and make a donation. It’s work it.

St. Ann's is worth stopping and taking a look around the church and the grounds. Beautiful stained glass windows in the church and the building itself is amazing. Attended the morning service which is held outside and overlooking the ocean.

Indeed, this is a unique chapal made of stones. It is small, but the architecture is beautiful. Nice, calm and quite place to relax. We were here on a weekday, not many around. Not to be missed while walking or driving around the town.

Church is a bit off the beaten path but perhaps the trip. Beautiful in its simplicity inside and out. Stain glass is beautiful. Worth the stop.

Absolutely beautiful. It’s an incredible calming place to spend time. The view is amazing and I’d definitely recommend spending time here.

this stone structure sits on a peninsula. Beautiful facade but unfortunately both access gates were locked. May be open on Sundays.

Perhaps timing is everything We arrived on foot on the Monday of the civic holiday
There were 2 gates with signs saying Closed
On the other gate it said Private Function
However the gates were pushed to the side as if that was for another time
Some angry white man approached us angrily and asked if we couldn’t read etc
I said that the signs were pushed to the side so it looked as if it was for another time
He even more angrily confronted us and I said to him that he needn’t be so mean I mean isn’t this a church?
Such a turn off
Other people were confused about the signage
Perhaps if they had a nicer person closer to the entrance to gently tell people to not venture forth that would be better
His behaviour was appaling

This was closed due to COVID. could not go inside but we walked around the grounds and it was lovely. Def worth a quick stop

Great to see. Lots of history, nice bike ride to the church. The Capt. Jefferds has bikes to use which is awesome.

I stopped here for my first time and what a beautiful church! Everything about it was amazing from the stones of the structure to the beautiful stain glass windows. What a wonderful view of the ocean too! I would encourage anyone to stop by!

A beautiful 1800's stone church that is spectacular - only better views are once you actually enter the church. The workmanship is unbelievable and the stained glass windows are not to be missed.

Saint Ann's will always be a special remembrance to us. Its natural beauty (lack of "glitz") was so comforting.
If you enjoy sitting in awe and meditation, spend some time at the seaside outdoor chapel on the grounds. It has pews, lectern-altar area and it's right on the water's edge. Sit and watch the tide, the surf, and give thanks for such beauty.

I love old..that being said this Church is a Diamond. It's a must see and it will wow you as it did us.

This is honestly the most beautiful church that I've seen! There is the church itself plus an outdoor chapel overlooking the sea. The chapel is only open in the summer months and has Sunday services. It's the family church for the Bush family as well.

You would be remiss if you visited Kennebunkport without stopping at this beautiful church and seaside property. On this trip my wife and I followed Parson's Way from the Walker's Point to the church's beautiful grounds one morning and then returned the following evening to watch the sunset.

The history of this chapel is interesting. Be sure to pick up the booklet. It was amazing to think of all the souls that have worshiped here since the 1800's - very special.

Beautiful church and great location. It was located near a couple other places we wanted to see. Wouldn't have driven to see the church alone.

The tags on the "donated" pews are fun to read with some notable names. The small chapel is also very pretty.

We happened upon this church at the south end of our walkers point tour. It is the most beautiful church I have ever seen and was moved to tears by the setting and flowers and lighting and windows with the beautiful bible verses worked in throughout. The outdoor worship area is a beautiful view of kennebunkport. The kids had a great time playing in the lawn and taking in the ocean views. We lunched just a little further south at Mabel's. Some of the best lobster and blueberry pie we've had all week.

I have been to this place several times. It's a very beautiful church with beautiful views of the ocean. I have parked near the church before too inside the grounds. This time, we parked and chose to walk down to Parson's Way and back. Big mistake! When we got back, the gates were closed and we had an angry caretaker to deal with. I apologized profusely, but he was very mean about it. I managed not to get too upset and he finally let me in to get my car out. I won't make that mistake again but reading these reviews it seems that others have had run-ins with him. I did not notice any signs posting the hours of the church or when the gates are locked. It was only when I googled the church and got their website that they mentioned not parking there if you walk past the church or your car will be locked in!

The perfect place to meditate, enjoy the view, and relax. It is old Maine at it's best. This is a great place to go if you are photographer

I stumbled across Saint Ann's and what a wonderful surprise. The setting is perfect along the coastline and the entire area is inspiring.

You must see this church if you are visiting Kennebunkport, ME. This church is breathtaking inside and outside.

We didn't get to go inside, the gates were closed but this church is stunning. Would love to go back in nice warm weather to explore.

This is a truly an amazing and beautiful church. It was most unfortunate to see that some of the windows were boarded up but i hope this means that there is additional restoration underway. We've seen churches all over the world, but this one had a charm like no other.

Worth a visit especially since it was a favorite project of the late Barbara Bush in honor of her mother in law. Incredible stonework reflects the rugged Maine coastline. Stained glass windows are lovely and view of the Kennebunkport marina is worth stopping to see. You don’t have to spend a lot of time but t worth a look on the way to other activities.

Didn’t get in. Fair enough they were about to close. But, a church, of all places, needs a caretaker who doesn’t have to be so gratuitously rude to possible visitors. If that’s what it’s like I won’t be going on a Sunday.

This church is gorgeous and makes the bride standout on her special day. Cozy yet spacious for a crowd. This venue is the best.

On our vacation we have visited Cadillac Mountain and experienced the beauty of nature throughout a great deal of Maine, but stopping by St. Ann's Church was an experience that I will never forget.
As an Episcopalian, I was honored to step into this beautiful church and to feel the love that went into its initial creation and the love and pride that maintain it today. Not only is St. Ann's a legacy to the Bush family and their love of this sacred space, but to all those that have worshipped here in the past that have chosen to encourage that the doors are open for the world to enjoy.
It is a beautiful church with magnificent stained glass windows, wood beamed ceilings, marble, slate and washed stone walls.
The grounds are beautiful and I was particulary drawn to the "Chapel by the Sea", the outside area dedicated to services overlooking the ocean in the summer. I would drive back to Maine just to be able to attend such a service.!

A must see when visiting Kennenbunkport. The stained glass windows are just beautiful and the stone work is amazing. And, of course, you can't beat the view of the water. Serene place to meditate, prayer and soak in the surroundings.

This place looks like something right of the 1600's. I know it's a little over a 100 years old but this is a MUST SEE if you are in Kennebunkport

Absolutely a beautiful church the grounds and surrounding really complement you viewing
Highly recommend

This little church is a must see! The stone is stone, by the ocean, and has many stained glass windows! The interior trussses are beautiful as is the cross. The area surrounding is lovely and serene...
Very relaxing and spiritual.

What a beautiful little stone church in Kennebunkport right on the ocean. It is definitely worth seeing, because of it's historical history, beauty, and location. The view of the ocean from the grounds of the church is also outstanding.

This is possibly one of the most beautiful churches I have ever been too right on the Maine Coast. They host morning services outside that are breathtaking.

What a beautiful stone church! It was such a serine place. I can’t even express how gorgeous this church was made, from the wood, stones, and stained glass it was amazing. The grounds were just as gorgeous. Definitely stop and see if you’re in the area.

We happen to drive by this coming back from President Bush’s Compound. There were no signs as to what this beautiful church was, but we drove in anyways. Nice views of the water and Kennebunkport harbor, beautiful church, easy to park.

This was fun to see for the architecture. Although we couldn't go inside, they did have the front doors open to be able to see into the sanctuary. This is still an active church.

Must see landmark. Amazing architecture. Stonework has so much detail. Walking the grounds and looking out into the see is so peaceful.

Stopped in for a brief visit to the chapel. The grounds and view are stunning. Great place to contemplate life and and nature.

Wow wow wow. Kennebunkport is so crowded, shops, cars, etc, then you drive a bit and stumble upon this beauty of a place. We parked right in front of the ocean. Opened a beach chair and my puppy and I just soaked in the beauty. The church itself is gorgeous. The stone, marble, and stained glass is breathtaking as is the view. The altar on the coastline is lovely. The landscaping is so pretty. A nice way to spend a relaxing hour away from it all.

Beautiful spot outside of town. Within walking distance on Ocean Ave. it's a working church and very simply appointed but the architecture is beautiful. If you need some peace and quiet this is the place.

This is a beautiful, old church with fantastic ocean and Kennebunk river views. The stained glass windows are so pretty and unique (one even has shells embedded) and the grounds are lovely. We took the trolley to the Colony Hotel and walked here on our way down Ocean Ave to see Walkers Point since it was a beautiful day. There is ample parking to visit if you are driving.

Step back in time. Take your guests for a scenic drive along the Kennebunkport rugged coastline. With a stop at St. Anne's. Always a favorite tourist stop. Just a glimpse of Maine has to offer. You won't be disappointed.

Definitely worth a detour to see this church. The brickwork is amazing and the views - wow. Everyone should stop and admire.

This lovely stone Episcopal Church was built in 1892 overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Kennebunk River. Its sea washed stone exterior and interior are unique and make for a very special chapel. The Bush family attends services frequently at this church when they are in town. It is a lovely setting, even if you only sit out on the lawn to enjoy the view.

The Intown Trolley driven by Ed brought us to Saint Ann’s Church. Absolutely a must visit. The stone and wood with stain glass windows are beautiful.

Nice stop in the region on a nice day. Great views and ample parking. Love the private house right next to it!

Happened across Saint Ann's church which is not far from the center of Kennebunkport and right on the ocean. Lovely setting and the rock work is something to see. Definitely part of the history of the area.

It is worth a visit to this church. The stained glass windows are beautiful. There was ample parking and we did not have to walk far. There was no fee. It is a peaceful place to stop.

The old stone church is absolutely beautiful, with an interesting history. It i set on a breathtaking bay, and set in lovely flowers. We thoroughly enjoyed our stop here, and enjoyed the serenity and surroundings. Our visit was enhanced by meeting a fine elderly lady, who was tending to the flowers, and had a wealth of information about the church and the area.

Beautiful stone church near the ocean. Definitely worth a stop and a look inside. The church is not elaborate inside, the alter is rather plain, but the stone work and the wood door are impressive. Also there is a nice overlook of the ocean and Ocean Ave is worth a drive in itself.

Not far out of town and on the road to view the Bush's compound and the blow hole. The parking is free, the grounds and ocean views are worth the stop. The church itself is uniquely beautiful inside.

St. Ann's is a beautifully small Episcopal Church. The interior is beautiful in its simplicity. The coastal surroundings are breathtaking. I'd love to attend one of the outside chapel services. Absolutely beautiful!

Just a nice stop along Ocean ave. This beautiful old stone church sits in a lovely location at the waters edge not far from town. Only wish it was open to see the inside.

We were delighted with all we saw here! This small and beautiful seaside Episcopalian chapel (built 1887) was one of 18 historic summer chapels in Maine, found mostly along its coastline. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, it had limited onsite parking. The chapel was open during our visit. A historical pamphlet was available. Inside the sacristy had colorful, sea-worn stones. The chapel had a polished granite altar, a limestone baptismal font, oaken pews, and hand-stitched needlepoint kneelers. The chapel had 31 glorious stained glass windows. A squat stone bell tower held an old working bell. The chapel grounds were immaculate, with well-kept lawns and gardens. At the shore was a small outdoor chapel whose several rows of benches had spectacular views all the way to Cape Ann. We loved everything about this chapel by the sea.

We came to view this beautiful church and the grounds it sits upon. Unfortunately, when trying to view the church it was closed. That would not normally be an issue. We would have gladly returned to view another day. The space was closed for painting. Unfortunately, the gentleman "in charge" of the space was terribly rude. We tried to enter the church to view the interiors. We opened the unlocked door at 3 pm in the afternoon. there was no signage state the church was closed. In most cases, houses of worship remain open for individuals wishing to view and commune with God. He pushed me aside and threw my elderly grandmother off balance. He reprimanded us for entering. He stated the door was closed. Yes, it was. It was a cool windy day. We would expect it to be closed. He said we could not enter. No, I am sorry we are closed today. Please come back and visit another day. No, he snarled at our party. nearly tripped my 80-year-old grandmother and physically pushed me aside. It was terribly rude and not what you would expect visiting a house of God. He sneered at us. Pushed us out and then locked the door. Signage and a positive attitude would have been much appreciated. He then returned to his "girlfriend" he had been sitting with by the water. More interested in her admiration then being a hospitable individual. We will happily visit on Thursday. We are not dismayed by the terrible rude nature of this individual. Just be aware that the people working here are not kind. Be sure to take hold of your elderly, before they are pushed aside like garbage.

The beauty just simply surrounds both inside and out. Sitting upon the ocean cliffs, the view is amazing. But it's the beauty of the interior that is so special...from the stained glass windows to the alter & wood design throughout. It's open to the public for touring & I highly fecommend stopping in !

If you're in the Kennebunkport area, you really should stop by St. Ann's Church as you drive around Ocean Avenue. The church itself is beautiful but the setting on its point of land jutting out into the ocean is fantastic.

So many people have described and submitted photos of this church that I won’t waste any time with repetition. If you are in the area, don’t miss St. Ann’s. While it’s a cool building due to all the stones, the spiritual warmth is even stronger. Definitely a moment to sit on a pew and thank God for all of our blessings.

This small church, constructed from stones dragged from the sea, is a marvelous piece of architecture not to be missed.

What a spectacular church and grounds. It is so beautiful along Ocean Avenue. What a lovely church with wonderful history!

Not only is this a unique and beautiful church the history that follows along the building of the church, where the stones came from the age of the pews, the windows, the pilars and of course the outside Prayer service area where the Bushes sat for service. This is an experience that if you are anywhere close stop and get the sense of how spiritual this St. Ann's Church really is. You can sit right by the water and get a sense of how the people from more than one hundred years ago sat in the same spot listening to a sermon. Just wonderful

This is a beautiful place! There is a beautiful outlook onto the beach with a worship space as well. No public bathrooms.

The church is beautiful on it's own but the location on the ocean makes the whole property spectacular. Definitely worth a stop while visiting Kennebunkport.

A lovely walk along Ocean Avenue from the Breakwater Inn or Colony Hotel. The church is built of local stone and is cool and peaceful. The outdoor chapel is breathtaking. Most certainly worth a visit while in Kennebunkport. However keep in mind this is an operating church with Sunday morning services, so schedule your visit accordingly.

Must see. Very beautiful. Definitely shouldn’t miss stopping and visiting this special church, very different and unique.

A stunning church located on a beautiful piece of property overlooking the ocean. No visit to Kennebunkport would be complete without a visit to St. Ann’s. The church is stone on the exterior and gorgeous stone and wood inside. Don’t forget to walk up the stairs to get a view from the balcony. Outside the grounds are on a peninsula surrounded by the rocky coastline. This is a great place to sit and reflect on the beauty of nature. There is an outdoor altar with seating with a view of the sea in the background. I believe the church is only open in the Summer months.

Visit during sunset. Great view over water. Stone Church lit up beautifully with setting sun. Bring the family, dog, and food.

I was speechless walking into this church. One of the men who operates the church was practicing the organ for an upcoming wedding as we walked around, truly taking us back in time. The church is extremely well kept! The stained glass around the church has seashells implanted while others have a more jagged texture. Both techniques I have never seen. Right on the water, the grounds offer beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere. If you like history, art, or want to find a place to retreat from the outside world, this place is for you! They kindly ask that you do not ride bikes on the premises, for you bike riders sight seeing for the day. You can park them right in front as you walk around.

Beautiful grounds a must see. Drive from Kennebunkport beautiful. Great opportunity for photos. Can’t wait to return

Beautiful and quaint church. Worth a stop just to sit by the water. Some fun history as this is the location where our former President Bush landed from his skydiving experiences.

St. Ann's is a lovely old church for services OR an outside seating area facing the water with an altar.

This beautiful church is worth the time to visit. Everyone should see the outdoor alter by the ocean.

This church is amazing, both in location and architecture-
The setting is magical- its a great free attraction, all should visit

The stone and wood work of this 200 yr old church are amazing. In an ocean front setting it is awe inspiring.
I would consider it a “must see” in Kennebunkport.

If you are in the neighborhood, this seasonal church is worth a browse. Built in 1889ish, it is made primarily from local stones. It is right on the oceans edge which makes for a nice walk and view.

Lovely, historic and intimate St. Ann's Stone Chapel is a warm and welcoming seasonal respite from the harsh elements it must endure in its location by the windswept sea. Adorned with stained glass and built from large stones gathered nearby, the cornerstone was laid in 1887, and the chapel consecrated in 1892. Barbara Bush is recognized within, for her devotion and care for the Bush Family church. The grounds and the Chapel are both lovely, deserving of a brief visit and prayer. This lovely Chapel stands strong, with the essence of European charm.

St. Ann's church is a quaint little church to go see when in Kennebunkport. We love to visit old, historical sites and this did not disappoint.

Lovely grounds, beautiful sunset viewing spot. Visited with friends and talked for a long time while waiting for sun to get lower.

This is a beautiful church with a wonderful view of the sea! Definitely a must see while in Kennebunkport.

Just loved it here. To sit and think relax and go on your way feeling relaxed. Don't miss it. Just gorgeous.

The church is just beautful, made of stone and out on the point. So much to appreciate on this property. Soothing and lovely, right on the water.

This is a beautiful location right on the point and while we have not attended service here we have stopped many times to sit in the pews overlooking the ocean. There isn't a more beautiful and peaceful spot along Ocean Avenue!

We almost drove by and I'm so glad we didn't. This is a beautiful church with an amazing view. Very peaceful and a great stop to walk around and take it all in.

You don't want to miss this. Stunning church on the ocean front. very peaceful place to reflect. Wish we could worship there every Sunday.

We were told that the Bush family attended this church. It's a remarkable building with beautiful stained glass windows. Just takes a brief time to visit so worth the stop.

If you are walking out to Walker's Point, be sure you stop in to see Saint Ann's, an Episcopal church dating from the 1800s. The setting is beautiful and the church itself very attractive with lovely stained glass windows.

It is a beautiful structure in a lovely location. We are pleased to have seen it. We will recommend it to friends and family

Beautiful building with great history and greater views. The landscape and grounds are fantastic. Worth the visit.

Have come to this spot for years. Church is sometimes open for tours, but great area to have a picnic, watch the boats come and go or read a book. Always a crowd during high season, but still a peaceful area.

Really nice setting. The views of the water are wonderful. The church is worthwhile to check out. We saw this on the Inline trolley tour

We visited on our walk. Stunning church and property. Unfortunately due to Covid we couldn’t enter but enjoyed the grounds very much

Saint Ann's is a must see when in Kennebunkport. It is an achitechtural wonder. The grounds are magnificant overlooking the ocean,

This was a top spot suggested for sunset photos when I was in Kennebunk...I could not get on the grounds because the gates were closed and locked but when I turned around there was a turnout on the left side of the road and I went there to enjoy the end of the day. This church is so beautiful that you have to come even if you can not enter the grounds...it is a picture worthy place to stop!!!

Peaceful and gorgeous. Take about a half an hour and sit along the shore. Don’t miss the area behind the church where there are beautiful memorials and a lovely stone grotto -esque Area. I stop here every time I’m in KPT.

Whether you are driving past or walking along Ocean Ave. - stop here and check out the beautiful stone church with the stunning location.

This small church is definitely worth a visit. The stonework is impressive, the interior wooden trusses are beautiful, & surrounding grounds & outdoor chapel are lovely & serene.

Beautiful views, fantastic breakfasts, shuttle services, good restaurants and great shopping in the downtown area which is close by.

This is a great place to stop for wonderful photo ops of the rocky coastline and exploring the grounds. There is an seaside outdoor prayer area that is very peaceful.

While driving around Kennebunkport we stopped to see St. Ann's Church. It is a beautiful church and it was important for me to see it because I am such a fan of the Bush Family.

It’s a lovely location and tourists for the most part respect the property by behaving appropriately and not climbing or sitting on the sea wall, nor littering.
Folks bring lawn chairs and picnic lunches to relax and enjoy the views from the lawn and read their books.
There are outdoor pews facing the open water for you to pause and reflect on whatever you like.
It’s quiet. And beautiful. The grounds are Open to the public for free. Please remain respectful,

Closed until June. Beautiful grounds, can't wait for warm weather. They hold outdoor services during the summer while overlooking the coastline and ocean.

You’ll be driving by if you’re going to spy on the Bushes, so you might as well stop in and enjoy the view and interesting church. It’s an architecturally interesting building, really cool stones from the inside, and it’s free! Just be sure not to park right in front of it and stand around like a dope and ruin everyone else’s pictures! Enjoy!

Just a beautiful old stone church. The inside is spectacular. If you go, as you exit by the back door on the ocean side look at the door casing and see if you see what we saw. Great ocean view, really worth the stop.

This spot is magestic to see. It is a Huge area and is picture perfect as a seascape and religious spot. It is easy to enter and leave. The stone work is amazing.

Wonderful old Church with wood and stonework inside and incredibly beautiful stained glass windows. The outside view of across the water is breathtaking. There is parking on the grounds for some cars and no charge to visit. We went through at 4:30 on a Monday and we were the last visitors in the church before they locked up for the day so plan to visit early if you can. Encourage you to see it if you are in the area.

You do not have to be a religious person to appreciate the utter spirituality and calmness of this place. Sitting on a bluff overlooking the ocean and an outdoor pew area for Sunday services was a wonderful spot to sit, shut off your phone and reflect.

a must see so beautiful and spiritual.a lot of history in this church, right on the ocean Sunday mass outside in summer, inside quaint and sweet little church

This I found in error and I was not disappointed. It is a beautiful old church made with rock & wood. There is an outside church area as well that overlooks the ocean. The landscaping is calm and beautiful and it's a nice area to walk, sit or even picnic.

Saint Ann’s Church will only take you about 10 minutes to look at but it’s well worth the drive as it’s just on the outskirts of Kennebunkport. You’ll get to see the Colony hotel as you go there and if you continue on a little further from Saint Anne’s you will also get to see Walker’s point plus the spectacular Ocean Avenue drive itself. Saint Ann’s is an open church and has services every week.

Step back in time and feel the power and dedication of the people who carved their lives and their faith in this cold and harsh land. Outstanding.

We were lucky enough to go by and see the gates open. We turned around and went in. This church is so beautiful. Old stones, amazing stained glass. The cornerstone was laid Aug 22,1877.

This church is a must see! You can feel this history as you walk through the doors! If you are in the area it is definitely worth a look!

Had no expectations when we arrived, just had seen it on Trip Advisor and decided to stop. Beautiful stone masonry makes it a unique building. The views of the Atlantic were beautiful. I would recommend not standing on the wall. They had staffers walking around enforcing the rule. There are signs, but apparently I have bunch of rule breaking teens in my family. A 15 minute stop to see what you need to see, well worth it.

Beautiful, different looking church, great views! You don't need to be a fan of churches or the Bushes to appreciate this uniquely pretty spot. Very serene and the glass windows in the church are brightly colored. Worth a stop.

I found this to be a must stop on our walk along Ocean Avenue. Its strategic location provides 180 degree views of the water and rocky coastline. The stone church, dating back to 1892, is well maintained as a result of near constant restoration and preservation. There is an outdoor chapel plus well maintained gardens to capture ones interest. The church's interior is similarly beautiful with many stained glass windows and a lovely alter.

I thought she was getting married in the church, but it was outside overlooking the water. It was absolutely stunning. The weather was perfect and the minister heartfelt.

Beautiful in every way. The stone interior ,stained glass, landscape, ocean view and outdoor chapel. The Bush family made this their place of worship when there were in town. This is a must see in Kennebunkport .

St. Ann's has out outdoor area for services that is literally at the water's edge. A gorgeous spot. The grounds are beautifully maintained. The small church is old, but worth seeing.

The church is only open mid June through September as posted on their website, so when we visited in Nov we did not expect it to be open. We were able to stop and look at it from the gate and the stone work is beautiful. I can only imagine how nice it would be to tour the inside and the grounds. Beautiful setting.

My wife and I visited this beautiful church while spending a couple of nights in Kennebunkport, ME. The structure is stunning. We went to visit in October so the church was closed, as it only opens from June to September. But what a sight - both inside and outside! I hope my two pics does it some justice.

The building is easy to miss, doesn’t even look like a church from the outside, but quite impressive interior. The music program (Mozart and Beethoven) lasts just over one hour, more serious work than the tourist traps, at very reasonable rate. Recommend highly for experience of church concert. Pews are original and a little tight. There are additional seating on the sides. We went last evening, a Monday. It was over half full.

In front of Saint Ann’s Church, overlooking the ocean, is an outdoor chapel. As you walk into this chapel, look at the end of the stone wall on the right. It is a plaque remembering Prescott Bush, the presidents’ father and grandfather.

The church is beautiful and the setting is even better. The weather was perfect and we had a great visit.

We loved seeing this site in Maine. It’s a gem in Kennebunkport. A unique smell inside of mint proved how historical it was. They put real shells in their stained glass windows. Try to catch a Sunday church service in this unique spot. 8:00 & 10:00.

Beautiful stone church built in 1892 overlooking the ocean. So glad we took the time to visit, it's not far from the main town. It's free to enter and will only take about 15 minutes to view the church and grounds. Totally worth it if you love churches.

The church is worth seeing, built with local stones, a beautiful ocean view. Parking is a challenge, but we found a spot.

A definite must-see if you're in the Kennebunkport area. The stone chapel is beautiful with stained glass windows and well-kept grounds. The views from the seaside chapel are breathtaking. A peaceful place to take in the gorgeous location.

Beautiful small stone church. Quite a history with the Bush family attending this church. The flowers and grounds are well kept. Beautiful view of the ocean.

The church has so much charm and history! Beautiful architecture and great location overlooking the bay.

The location is spectacular right on the water. The beautiful stone church has gorgeous stained glass windows. It would be a shame if you just drove past it and didn't stop. There is no charge for this site

This is a simply lovely church, with gorgeous grounds. Very special place, and well-worth a visit. The views across the beach is also gorgeous.

An easy stop while driving along the coast. Beautiful and peaceful inside. Small and very intimate. Be sure to stop in.

Take time to walk through the chapel and learn the history and walk around the grounds. There is an outside seating area that is extremely peaceful to sit and listen to the water.

Pictures cannot do justice to the beauty of Saint Ann's Church, its surrounding grounds and amazing waterfront location. We found ourselves going back a few early evenings to relax after a full day and enjoy the tranquility and sunset views.

My fiance' and I have passed this gorgeous property, so very many times and never realized we could actually drive in and see it up close! We were amazed at it's beauty! Surrounded by the stunning views of the ocean, this church is simply a masterpiece! Beautiful grounds and so well taken care of! Several simple pews/benches, facing the ocean for an outside ceremony as well as the incredible stone work and stained glass windows in the church itself! I will soon be contacting them to inquire about fees for wedding ceremonies and we believe we have fallen in love with our spot!

I viewed the church via the gate...what i saw was amazing. I would love to see the inside and walk around the grounds

This is such a stunning stone church that overlooks the sea. Make sure you go inside as well to marvel at the beautiful stained glass and stone structural features of the Church. Definitely a must-see while in Kennebunkport!

We were enjoying a drive along the scenic Kennebunkport coastal road and discovered this gem. The views from the property are great. The church is a beautiful old stone building. It's worth the stop!

Extraordinary stone work. Summer chapel from the mid 1860's. Beautoful stained glasswindows, great location on the water.

Decided to visit this church and scope the property and the architecture is absolutely gorgeous, simple yet reliable. And the outside scenery and view of the ocean makes for the prefect wedding venue, I'm definitely going to plan my wedding here

Lovely spot - worth a visit....not crowded both times we've gone. A great spot to sit & stare at the ocean.

Just an incredible, historic stone church frequented (and attended) by the Bush clan. Incredible views from the point—and the sanctuary is uniquely beautiful.

So happy we stopped her close to sunset! This church has stunning stone work and beautiful stained glass windows! There is an altar outside with pews with the most amazing view! I understand why this is rated #1!

This is always a must stop & see when in the area. It's in a beautiful setting along the ocean & the stone church is pretty cool. Just know it is always freezing inside the church. You can walk around the grounds & take photos.

Limited hours, check beforehand so you can tour the church. Also don't park on the grass or you will hear from the groundskeeper.

St Ann's is a beautiful spot which seems far away from the hustle and bustle of Kennebunkport. The church is lovely and the grounds offer gorgeous views of the ocean and Kennebunk beach.

Picturesque stone church with restored interior and an outdoor sanctuary facing the ocean. Brass placques with names of famous people on the ends of many pews. Very scenic stop. Not far from the Bush compound.

We once again stopped by in order to enjoy both the church proper and its rocky coastline location. We considered it a must do on each of our vacation trips to KPT.

Saint Ann’s By The Sea and grounds are stunning and beautiful. It’s right on Ocean Avenue in Kennebunkport - between the Colony Beach snd Walker Point (George and Barbara Bush family residence ). You can walk there along the beach and Ocean Avenue or easily drive there.
The grounds are beautiful as you enter through the iron gates.
Plentiful free parking inside along the sea wall (except when church is in service or a wedding is occurring ). Check out the beautiful 1887 old stone chapel - made with large stones just a few feet away on the sea shore. Beautiful stained glass windows. Usually the doors are open to visitors. No admission fee and there is normally a complimentary history booklet in a basket as you enter the front door below the bell tower. It’s a Summer Church - open for services June thru September, and normally the church is open for guests throughout the year.
There is a historic house on the property that serves as the rectory during the summer, as well as the old garage and a beautiful flower garden that is accessible to all.
Walk along the sea wall that goes all the way around the point. Truly amazing views!
There is also a large outdoor chapel literally on the sea wall, that is built on the remnants of a Fort from 1819, that protected the old harbor.
Enjoy! It’s beautiful here and is normally one of the top attractions in Maine.

St. Ann's is a short walk form town. It has gorgoues view and the old stone church is a piece of architecture you rarely see here in the states. Well worth the journey down ocean avenue. The Bush and Walker family plaques pay tribute to their commitment to the church.
There is an outdoor chapel area as well overlooking the ocean. A wedding was planned for there theday after our visit.

This stop is worth the extra time. The beauty of the Church, constructed from local stone, provides a special place to find spirit.

This is a beautiful church on the water. The pews on the bluff are stunning. Worth a quick stop if you are in the area.

Amazing interior stonework.History of the church well explained on notice boards. Located at the mouth of the river so boating can be viewed from the grounds

Such an absolutely beauty!!! A must see. such wonderful history. A beautiful scenic spot on the water.

Lovely, peaceful spot to meditate or simply look out over the expansive and truly amazing vista. It's along the way on a pretty beachside walking path.

We really enjoyed walking the grounds and exploring the Church. Rich in history and worth the trip and time spent, we will visit again.

The grounds of the church are amazing with great views of the Atlantic Ocean. The church is open to visitors as well

I was headed out to find the Bush compound on Walker Point when I saw the sign for this church saying 'All are welcome,' so naturally I pulled in. I snapped a few quick pics and jumped in my car, when I realized I should run inside. Such a pretty little church - Episcopal's should swing threw if in the area.

So glad I added this to my "possible stops" list for the day of exploring. It feel off my radar and I happened to drive by it- and actually drove past. I turned around and went in "for the heck of it" and it was an absolute highlight of my trip. Not sure I have ever seen a more gorgeous spiritual setting in my life. Take me back.

Lovely old stone church with beautiful stain glass windows. Beautiful location on the ocean. Worth Your Time to visit.

Took a ride to see the church felt a mist from the ocean. Lots of history to the church. The Bush family attends this church however we didn't see them. Tide was out great picture taken.

Pleasant stop by the water, beautiful old stone chapel.
Nice area for a picnic.
Scenic ocean drive en route
Just a wonderful calm stop along the way

The most fabulous location, perched on a rocky coast with a view of the ocean. Beautiful structure and surrounds. Idyllic.

Saint Ann's Church is open after being closed all winter. I took a few more photos of this iconic place. It's always a necessary stop when in Kennebunkport.

My husband and I walked up to one of the closed gates that was chained approximately 3:00 PM on October 27th, 2022 to visit the church. First time visitors to St. Ann’s we were hoping to view the property and church. As we followed a couple in front of us they were baffled as to why the gate was chained and unable to retrieve their car. No signs were present at any of the gates or driveways going in as to the hours. A man was following us all and as we were discussing their dilemma at the gate he eventually responded that if it was his car he would tow it. His comments became increasingly strange and agitated. He informed the couple that he was the caretaker and they kept him from going home because he had to wait for them to come back to get their car. He never gave the current hours to the church property only that it closed at dusk in September.
He said you cannot park there unless you are going in to look at the church. They responded they did do that and then walked out to the shoreline below. He chastised them many times for their error. He didn’t offer any solution. The couple was most apologetic. They had to ask him if he could unlock the gate to get their car. He said yes he can’t keep it. The police wouldn’t let him do that, but if it was up to him, he would keep it.
Most strange and uncomfortable encounter for all of us especially the young couple trying to get their car behind the locked gates.
Tourist beware!!!

There are a multitude of churches to visit and look at the stonework, etc. Great way to pass a couple of hours in a beautiful town!

Definitely worth a visit to this beautiful chapel & grounds. It is just down the road from Walker's Point. The interior is small, but very impressive with all of the stone & wood. The grounds are beautiful. An outside alter & seating overlook the Atlantic Ocean.

Beautiful spot that you should not miss. The church is exquisite as are the views from the grounds of the church.

Gate was open on a Sunday morning after the posted service time so we walked in only to be approached by an aggressive attendant who abruptly said "you know we're closed right?" We said "no, we didn't as the gate is usually closed during the service. You need to change the signage because several more people came in right behind us." I apologized multiple times and we left without being able to see the church :(

there are morning services right on the rocks and also in this cute church who is the neighbors of the Bush family compound next door....free to walk in and look and walkable from town
worth the walk and stop end enjoy the views

This unique church was set in a beautiful location overlooking water. It had beautiful stain glass and a peaceful atmosphere. It was also near to George H.W. Bush's home.

This church is rich in history. Definitely worth the stop when the gates are open, 8am-5pm. What a marvelous location to worship God.

We visited St. Ann's Church as part of our 30th wedding anniversary vacation. There is an outdoor Seaside Chapel . We renewed our vows there and it was beautiful. We then went into the church and it is beautiful. There are 25 stained glass windows in the Stone Chapel and so much history. There is plenty of room for parking and a great place to take in a view of the ocean.

What a beautiful old church on absolutely gorgeous grounds sitting right by the sea. My understanding is that the Bushes attend services there when in town.

Made a brief stop while driving down Ocean Ave. Very irregular shaped stones fashioned into a fascinating architectural masterpiece. The church has been well maintained and should continue to serve for many decades to come.

First the pretty old stone church with tainted glass, then this altar with benches literally on the ocean... All beautifully surrounded by lawn, trees and birds. Pretty spot on Ocean drive.

Saint Ann's Church is in the perfect coastal setting, surrounded by flower gardens, rocky cliffs and gorgeous views of the ocean. The church is built from Cliffside boulders features old wooden beams and colorful stain glass. The church always offers a calm serene place for contemplation.

It is a nice church to visit during the summer months. It is quite busy with weddings and special events. It is a great place to have an picnic lunch or watch the fireworks on July 4th, a great view watching the boats come and go from the breakers.

The church was easy to find, beautiful old church with an outdoor altar area that faces the ocean. It was amazing to visit with stained glass windows and the views of the Atlantic behind the outdoor seating area and altar.

This church is beautiful and set in a stunning location by the sea, there is also an outside alter where they do outside services right by the ocean

What a beautiful Church and ocean view. It's open to the public, and its a nice stop point for beautiful oceanfront scenery. It only takes a few minutes (5-10) to really enjoy it.

We stop by Saint Ann's Church every time we are in Maine. The grounds are always well manicured to compliment the lovely stone structure overlooking the ocean. We always look forward to enjoying the peaceful setting.

We love this church, especially the architecture and the stained glass windows. It's in a gorgeous setting right by the ocean.

My daughter was married there. The outside is really nice but the interior is just plain beautiful. The minister and his wife were very kind to all involved. The grounds offer unlimited settings for pictures. When the weather permits services are held near the ocean. Many pews and an altar are outside. We attended the 8am service and it was something very special.

This is a lovely and historical chapel oceanfront in Kennebunkport. The architecture is amazing, it was painstakingly built with stones in the late 1800's. The arches inside are built with stones smoothed by the wave action of the sea. The ocean views are lovely as are the gardens and there are more monarch butterflies flying around than I have ever seen in one place! The outdoor chapel overlooking the sea makes me want to attend a service there someday. God in nature felt in the air.

Beautiful spot but we we not able to walk around or inside. It is right across from the Busch’s summer house, definitely worth driving by.

We recently had the pleasure of attending my niece's wedding at this magnificent church. To some it may seem tiny and could not hold many people, but let me tell you we had nearly 200 people inside. The outside of the Church harkens back to the old world and private churches of days gone by. The interior was stunning and must be seen with your own eyes to do it justice. If you are in Kennebunkport you must stop by and see this church. Please be advised that the Church and grounds do close during private ceremonies so please visit their website and call to see if it will be open to the public.

A brief but inspiring stopover as one drives or bikes along the seaside road just outside the bustling Kennebunkport main web of streets downtown. Especially in the summer, the flowers and lush green landscape carefully mowed and tended to provide the stone chapel a restful repose and center of attention also allow a visitor some time to think -- and to gaze out from a nearby overlook on the placid bay and its beaches across the way. There is plenty of parking.

On our almost annual vacation along Maine's mid-coast, this church is deemed are required stop. It is situated on a large segment of the rocky coastline with views that border on breathtaking. There are pews outside where I am sure weddings are held.
The interior of the church is small, but beautiful.

I wish I lived here! The history and construction of the building is impressive. Oh, and the Chapel by the Sea--who wouldn't want to praise the Lord next to the ocean?!

Friends took us to this picturesque little gem by the ocean. There were few people here, parking was plentiful and we could get out and walk our dogs and take photos. The inside of the church is beautiful, as well. Then I learned this after leaving the church...".It was built in 1887 and has been an operating church since 1892. The church construction is interesting as the stones used to make the church were pulled right from the Atlantic Ocean which it overlooks. Taylor Swift performed there to debut one of her videos that was shot in Kennebunkport. George and Barbara Bush attend mass there and it was the site that George parachuted into for his 90th birthday."

We tried to stop in after the 10:00 mass on Sunday, but were quickly shooed away by the groundskeeper. Since it was almost 11:00, I thought it would be ok to walk up. Nope. He was abrupt and rude, to be honest. Told us that nobody was allowed in until the last car exited the lot. Seriously? I would completely understand not interrupting a Mass, but it was over. Anyway, we left feeling annoyed and went back later that evening (relieved he was nowhere to be found, lol). We enjoyed the grounds and the beautiful church. It is a sight worth seeing if in the area. All of the stones that construct the church are from the surrounding sea. Just beautiful.

this is a MUST visit when in KBport. Breathtaking views of the Atlantic, we came back to watch teh fireworks on teh 4th on the lawn. The Church is beautiful, and if you have a chance to come for an outdoor service, you will enjoy the experience very much

I believe this is an Episcopal church... It is just so quaint and New England looking. The grounds are beautiful and along the water. We stopped on a Monday afternoon. So pretty.

This was one of the stops that we made for my family visit. We started in cape porpoise, at Atlantic Hose Fire House. Drove to Walker’s Point for pictures for my sister-in-law. Continued to St. Anne’s Church. What a beautiful place. Grounds were magnificent along with the beautiful church.

I can't imagine a more picturesque spot for a wedding. Nothing says forever like a church that has been around for almost 200 years. The slate, granite, stone, and wood appear indissoluble and the views of the ocean are unmatched. The church is pocket-sized and the hours are limited, so check before you hike over there.

Visiting Kennebunkport for the first time for our 24th wedding anniversary. We attend church every Sunday when we're at home and usually try to attend a local church while we're vacationing. Our home church is VERY casual and I usually pack rather light when we vacation so I did not have any "dress" clothes. Assumed-hey it's a resort town so there's probably a more relaxed vibe. I assumed wrong. I was the only person wearing shorts and to make matters even more embarrassing I sat next one of THE Bush brothers and his wife and had no idea it was them until I went back to the hotel and googled photos. He looked very familiar and I heard him talking to some other people around us during the passing of the peace and started to "piece" together just who I might be sitting with. They were very nice and in no way made me feel awkward. I just wish I would have presently myself a little better but truth be told-they got the real me.

First off - all are welcome here on the grounds of St Ann's By The Sea.
Built in 1887 from large stones right from the shore, which is literally a few feet from the church itself.
There is also an outdoor chapel right up against the sea wall with plentiful free parking.
An amazing spot to take in the coast and watch lobster boats and fisherman working the surrounding waters.
Note that the church is busy occasionally in the summer with baptisms, weddings, eternments, an annual Blessing of the Animals (late July) and Sunday Services.
IT IS ONLY THEN THAT the church is only open to those attending the event.
The church itself is beautiful.
With large stones and a bell tower.
Beautiful stained glass windows.
A peaceful place to tour, contemplate or pray.
A great place to get married or baptized or to repeat your wedding vows or get engaged!
A wonderful spot for photos and family pictures!
Services are during the summer season only.
8am and 10am Sundays.
8am is outside at the outdoor chapel (weather permitting - if the weather is bad then it's inside).
10am is inside the beautiful St Ann's church.
By the way - the beautiful adjacent rectory, was the historic home of early millionaire Atwater Kent, and is today the residence for the visiting Minister.

Spent quite a bit of time in the sanctuary and property. It was so pretty and loved the history of it.

We saw this from the sea and was told President George Bush often parachuted onto the property. There is a large flagpole and flag. The church is all stone set overlooking the water very near the Bush compound.

Great place to have a nice walk and take great photos. A short drive or walk from the middle of town.

While touring Kennebunkport, walk, ride, or drive up the coast toward Walker's point, and stop at St. Anne's. Beautiful seaside church.

This historic church offers a serene place to reflect, visit and admire beautiful stained glass and the ocean. Open to everyone, it is definitely worth a visit to walk around the grounds, step inside and admire the architecture.

We literally stumbled on this while touring the area and fell in love. Absolutely stunning location, beautiful church and coolest outdoor church area have ever seen. Make sure not to just drive by!

This small church and accompanying rectory are perched at the top of a bluff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. There's an open air alter at the edge of the bluff and a church built by hand with local stone from 1887 to 1892 that is nothing less than a work of art. The property will make you think you're on the northern California coast instead of southern Maine.

Do yourself a favor and take in the incredible workmanship and detail of this church situated on the coast offering fantastic views.

The preserved church is awesome. The stones sizes were very large at the entrance. The detail of the inner sanctum with wood rafters and gorgeous stained glass Windows showcased the hard work it took to build this blessed church.Very peaceful and serene.

If in the area one must take the time to explore this wonderful property. It will take less than 60 minutes of your trip to work this into your travels. Well worth the stop.

A must see if you are in the area, the views of the ocean are magnificent and the history and beauty of the church is amazing.

We walked the road leading to the church. It was lovely, although there wasn't always a sidewalk available. The homes along the road are a sight to see as well. The church and its setting are so serene and peaceful, and the craftsmanship of the building was stunning! Glad we went.

A lovely church with a very interesting history. Wish there had been a guided tour, but we read the provided information and also Googled for more information.

The oldest church of Kennebunkport. It’s location is unmatchable facing the ocean. One can even have offices outside the church which is rather small

Breath-taking Church, in breath-taking scenic surroundings.. We came across this when driving out to see the Bush Compound, WOW WOW WOW! This is the most adorable, break taking, quaint and welcoming Church. It is situated on the coastal edge with large grounds, a memorial area, Columbarium and plenty of parking. It is tucked away on a bend if you follow the coastal road out of Kennebunkport, keep your eyes peeled! If you reach the Bush Compound heading north you have passed it (TURN AROUND PLEASE!!!) Please ensure you park in the designated areas and not on the grass edges next to the church (The groundsman was explaining the damage this does to the grass as so many just park on the side of the drive instead of on the section grass area when you enter the grounds and he needs to rotate the parking to accommodate the grass growth). Go inside, have a look around it is just exquisite and well worth an hour of your time

Stroll the avenue and make a stop in here; the view is incredible! A self-guided tour is easy and free.

Church and views are lovely, as is all of Ocean Ave, but the reviews mentioning an extremely aggressive and unpleasant caretaker are not exaggerated. You might expect someone working for a church to be courteous, polite, and conducting themselves with Christian values, but here you will be greatly disappointed. Too bad he deliberately ruins what should be an uplifting experience.

This church is absolutely gorgeous and the grounds are beautiful. This is a great place to go to see the sunset 🌅

Between the setting, the rock chapel and the stained glass, this church is so worth visiting. Well worth the visit.

Traveled in Eurpoe last year and was 'cathedraled out' by all we saw. This is a very small , simple church, made from local stones from the town. Very nice and down to earth church. Nothing fancy but eliquent in it's own manner. Worth a stop to check out. Beautiful views by the sea wall.

Highly worth a short visit to see the church and grounds. Also a great way to get water views of Kennebunk port and the beach without actually being on the water.

This beautiful little church is close to the ocean and is very unique. Definitely a photo op there! There is a dedication there you won't want to miss!

We biked by this church one day, and then were told we had to go inside so drove back the next. It was worth taking the time to stop in. The stone structure and stained glass windows are beautiful.
The hand carved white marble alter is spectacular! It's so perfect, it looks like painted wood.

What a sweet wonderful stone Church overlooking spectacular ocean. Vaguely reminds me of churches in Britain .

We saw the church from a boat on the water first. When we drove up to the right of the church was and area with seating to have an outdoor service. We then proceeded onto to the church. It was so beautiful with amazing flowers. It was so peaceful!

While staying at the Colony Hotel, we walked the ocean view sidewalk to find Saint Anne's Church. Situated on a bluff overlooking the ocean and extensive grounds, I could not imagine a more meaningful place to find a spiritual connection. It is a very small church with stained glass throughout and dedications to parishioners from over 100 years. If you are in Kennebunkport, this is really worth stopping to see!

This church was easy to visit as there was ample, free parking on the gravel drive near the church’s front door. All doors were open for curious tourists. The architecture is both reverent and rustic – an interesting combination.

This is a very popular place for weddings. It sits on a wonderful point of land and has great views of the ocean on several sides.

Popped in on walk along Ocean Ave. Unusually for this area is stone built. Little booklet available telling its history.

The view from the church is superb. The church itself is lovely with beautiful stained glass windows. There is parking available.

This is an amazing place to stop and take in the ocean views. Make sure to visit the church and enjoy the view on the outside church service benches.

An little chapel with gorgeous stained glass windows. The chapel is open most of the time for visitors to stroll through at no cost. The cross stained glass window in the balcony is so beautiful with the light shining through. The stained glass windows depict various Bible verses. It is a serene place to take a break from sightseeing.

My husband and I stopped here to take a few pictures. What a beautiful church and property. We walked around most of the area and took many pictures. I did not check to see if the church was open and I am now sorry I did not. A few days later we drove by here at sunset and there were about 8 cars watching the sun. Well worth a stop.

This church has some of the most beautiful views of the ocean you will find in the Kennebunkport area. Also you can go in the church and it is a amazing church. This s the church that President George H.W. Bush attend when they are at their summer home which is just less than a mile away.

We’ve visited St. Ann’s every time we go to Kennebunkport. Sitting and watching the waves and relaxing with a book is a special treat. We go mostly in the summer but we’ve also been at many other time of the year.

Lovely old church. The stained glass windows were beautiful. Well kept grounds - so quiet and serene by the water.

We enjoyed the beautiful grounds and the historic church itself. Apparently, they sometimes have services outside, overlooking the water. It would be hard to concentrate on the speaker with such a beautiful setting!

This church was open to public, easy walk along beautiful shore and quite reflection and blessed views. Must do

We were driving by and stopped in to check it out. It was beautiful. If you have a summer wedding planned in the area this would be the perfect place to have it. The view from the outside was also very very nice.

Beautiful landscapes grounds and a lovely church. There is a seating area to enjoy the beautiful Maine coast.

Very beautiful church. An important addition to any visit to the area. Make sure to bring your camera.

It was beautiful. Unfortunately, the gate was locked. I wished we could have walked the grounds. It was a rainy, cold day but it only added to the beauty

This stop was recommended by the tour guide on the trolley tour. It's a lovely little stone church and is open to the public. The location is perfect. It's high above the ocean with green lawns and trees and fabulous ocean views. We sat down on the outdoor benches and just enjoyed the salt air, sunshine, and gorgeous views. So peaceful.

Yes, this church is well worth your visit as you can see in the numerous photographs. But among the wonderful photos I am surprised you have not included photos of the columbarium located on the corner of the historic building --- it in no way detracts from the 1887 architecture even though it was consecrated in 2012, and it is beautiful, restful and the work of a master stonemason. It adds so much to your visit and to the building itself. From the archway entry to the plaza and arrangement of the site do not miss seeing this portion of St. Ann's. The stonework is amazing and a plaque on the archway pays tribute to the individual who built this beautiful addition -- the only craftsman who worked on the entire project.

A beautiful spot to visit inside and out! The stain glass windows and architecture are gorgeous and the man who cares for the church told us so much about not only the church but the area of Kennebunkport. So glad we made the stop to feel the quiet spirit of God here.

We had seen this church in a travel book we had, so decided to take a look. It's quite beautiful. It's made of stone and is right on the coast. There is also an outdoor chapel looking out on the ocean. There is a pamphlet inside that gives a brief history of the church. It's definitely worth a stop.

There is a pretty view of the beach and the Bush compound. Easy to get to from our hotel at The Nonantum.

Small in size but much to take in at this old rock church. The stain glass windows are so pretty and the architecture is stunning. Be sure to walk around the grounds and check out the views.

More of a chapel than a church. Right at mouth of kennebec river. One of 18 summer churches in Maine.

Beautiful church, beautiful location directly on the ocean, watch sailboats and even President George Bush as he and his "crew" speed by.

Beautiful as seen from Ocean Ave Drive but a notice that it had construction signs that say closed for renovation at both entrances when we went. Not sure when it is open again but just be aware you may not be able to go in or tour the grounds right now.

We enjoyed walking the grounds & seeing this lovely church. It was interesting to learn that the Bush's worship here.

The church itself is beautiful and historic. And the scenery is gorgeous. I relaxing, spiritual stop.

Just gorgeous! The outside and the interior structure is just one to see in person. Pictures don't do justice. The stained glass pieces are beautifully done. We called ahead to find out the hours and I'm glad we did as they had a wedding venue from 2:30-5:30. Please call the day of your visit to see if they are hosting any weddings. As you walk the grounds you get a nice ocean view as well. But it can get a little windy.

we were taking a morning walk along Ocean Blvd when we happened upon this church. really beautiful architecture, both inside and out. excellent photo opportunity in a town filled with them. resides along the ocean so views all around. definitely worthwhile to stop here when visiting Kennebunkport.

An Irish/English stone church on the coast, with beautiful views and a welcoming congregation. We love this place, and we are sure you will, too.

We were so glad it was open! We had the place to ourselves. It is truly magical inside regardless of your religious beliefs. It is free but also nice to donate a few bucks to the donation box.

This church dates back to the 1800's and it's gorgeous. Like all episcopal churches they welcome everyone and the church is open all day for visitors. Please be respectful it is a church, I didn't take pictures inside as that is not really something Episcopalians do, outside is better, but I did see other people taking them inside. I am assuming that is because they are not episcopalians so they don't know this about the church, but I was glad to be able to go in, just sorry I couldn't be there for a service.

We enjoyed visiting Saint Ann's Church and grounds. Such a lovely setting. Very peaceful. Great stone church. It is only open in the season I believe.
There is an area of outdoor pews overlooking the sea...brilliant.

Don't miss this gem on your visit. Spectacular location with breathtaking vista of the Atlantic. The craftsmanship is unique with so many unusual details and art. Must see stop!

The inside was pretty. We walked the grounds outside as well and read the different plaques. Spent about 30 mins here. Nice and peaceful.

What an amazingly beautiful church. The construction using local stones and rich woods makes for an incredible building. It was the highlight of our trip to Maine. Do not miss this sight! And make sure you go inside because the inside is even more beautiful.

Walked the grounds and then visited the church. Very nice architecture and beautiful stained glass windows. Grounds are also nice to park on the grass and have a picnic.

The church is in a great area, on the beach and there is also a place to have a worship right in front of the water outside the church.
There is a block memorializing president HW Bushes mother inside.

Beautiful and peaceful piece of history. A welcome respite in a busy place. Incredible structure in the midst of spectacular venue. Highly recommend.

Very beautiful church. Very peaceful setting. It was very foggy the day we visited. I'm thankful for other's photos, so I can enjoy the view.

We stop every time we are in Kenneybunkport. Superb architecture and location. Reminds you of a mor peaceful and caring time

Beautiful house of worship! Reggie the keeper was as nice as nice can be. Both the church and Reggie are exceptional.
A peaceful view at sunset.

I can understand why this is a sought after wedding spot as it is absolutely breathtaking on a beautiful day. Even an incredible spot for an outdoor wedding. The chapel will seat more people than you might guess from the outside!

The location was awesome enough, but the church grounds and interior was a thing of beauty. The stone work and the stained glass windows were fantastic! Definitely worth a trip here to see this!

We visited on a rainy afternoon and had the Church all to ourselves. How can one not be compelled to pray. See pics.

Very interesting church, With very cool architecture. The stonework is amazing. There is easy parking and great ocean views.

The grounds are just gorgeous. Attending Sunday mass was so special to me, especially when 2 Secret Service cars drove in with a famous family.

Call between Saint Anne’s is a beautiful old stone church on the oceanfront. We love to drive by and visit on occasion when we go every year to south Maine! Peaceful historic visit!

Restored to its glory with magnificent ocean views. Peaceful and a must see. No fee and stained glass windows and grotto are serene.

Beautiful church. Left a donation and took a pamphlet on the church. Nice shoreline around the church. Glad we stopped.

We visited this beautiful church and took a minute to enjoy the ocean from a family pew. Absolutely beautiful.

Stop here on your walk up Ocean Avenue to the Bush compound at Walker's Point. The grounds are lovely, as is the outdoor chapel overlooking the ocean. A beautiful spot to stop and contemplate nature and the spectacular scenery. Outdoor services are held at 8 am in the summer.

You do not have to spend much time here but you are welcome to should you want to... we just drove by and spent a few minutes here but there is such a peaceful feeling here and it is an amazing church. Don't miss this opportunity to feel quieted and peaceful.

Absolutely beautiful and charming church. Very unique interior. Place of worship for George H. W. and Barbara Bush, who donated projects to this church. Worth the time to worship or just visit.

Loved the setting, all of the "Bush" & Walker sentimental plaques, the view is amazing, a great stop off.

Beautiful stone church right on the coast of Maine. Stopped by while driving along the coast. Apparently it is not always open so if you happen to be in the area and see the gates open stop in.

Recommend checking out this historic old church and grounds on the oceanfront near Kennebunkport; quite interesting

This is a MUST DO on a visit to Kennebunkport. The church is not always open but we were fortunate to be able to drive onto the property and visit the church. LOTS of history here. The view is phenomenal.

We had no idea what this building was ( although guessed it was a Church of some sort ) when we passed it and we actually did a U turn to go back and investigate. it is in a beautiful setting and parking was easy.
I personally don't find the heavy external brick work reminiscent of many churches in the York to Kenny bunk area very appealing and this includes st Anne's but internally it was very tasteful , interesting stain glass and worth a visit .

Some of the other reviewers aren't kidding when they gripe about the groundskeeper here. He's very surly, almost to the point of menacing. If you park a few inches outside of the allowed parking areas, he'll go after you. Never seen anything like it. Anyway, I still love St. Anne's and its indoor and outdoor architecture, its stained glass, its history, and it setting by the sea, but I'm amazed that the church still employs this person.

This historic Stone chapel was built in 1887 and overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. It is well known for its stone facade, stained glass windows, and surrounding gardens.

Beautiful church where the Bush family attends when they are in town. Awesome outdoor service area as well.

This is a little gem. We enjoyed touring the church and sitting on the benches facing the water. Nice little area for parking. We would go back.

Beautiful little Church beside the ocean. Well worth a visit - not too long a stroll from Dock Square.

We happened upon St Anns as we were walking along Ocean Ave and stopped in for a visit. There were some musicians rehearsing for a wedding and the sound and atmosphere was amazing! It just has to be seen and when I looked it up when I got back to our campground I could see why it was the number 1 attraction in the Kennebunkport area.
Beautiful Church with outdoor service (weather permitting)
We attended a Sunday morning service that was held outdoors(August). There are permanent pews set up facing the Atlantic Ocean with the ministers' podium facing the pews. A beautiful setting. The sermon was delivered by a visiting minister & was excellent as well as the baptism of twin girls. Very special.
