We stopped in for a tasting on a busy Saturday. Elliot met us at the door and quickly showed us to a private area since it was so crowded. He spent a long time with us explaining the wines. He was very knowledgeable and kind. The wines were fantastic! I highly recommend stopping in for a tasting.

Enjoyed our wine tasting. Nice gift shop area. Great view onto the vinyard. Staff was able to suggest nice wines. I even received a bag of free corks!

We went for the wine and food pairing lunch. One of the highlights of our trip. The lunch was really good as was the wine. Unexpected fun part was visiting with the other participants. The grounds are beautiful and the folks are friendly. A delightful way to spend the afternoon. Would attend this again for sure.

We did the food and wine pairing at St. Francis and it was our first time doing something like this. It exceeded our expectations in every sense of the word - the way the food was paired with the wine (as opposed to matching wines with a pre-planed meal), the education from the hosts at each pour and the communal setting was second to none. We both agreed this was probably a top five culinary experience for the both of us and highly recommend to anyone considering it!

The setting was nice but there are better. Wines were subpar. We were seated on the veranda and the pervasive smell of mold (mulch? Umbrella? ) was distracting and quite unpleasant. Our host, Jason, did a great job with what he had to work with. Dry disappointing and would not recommend.

We reserved the wine/food pairing based on Tripadvisor reviews. Since we weren't familiar with St. Francis wines, we weren't expecting much, so we were going mainly for the "experience" to celebrate a birthday. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised. It was wonderful---both the food and the wine were spectacular and worth every penny.
The setting was gorgeous (reminds me of visiting Ferrari Carano winery in Healdsburg), the 5 course small-plates were some of the best fine dining we had on our trip, and the wines were perfectly paired. We don't even like scallops or duck, but both were prepared so well that we ate every bite of the dish. The chocolate cake with the warm chocolate center was the perfect finishing touch. We did the 2PM tasting and skipped dinner that night. The food was that filling. We ended up purchasing a bottle of wine, but we did not feel the pressure to do so.
The people were so friendly that it added to the ambiance. This is a place we will definitely visit again. We knew we were in for a treat when at least 3 other tables were "repeats". I should mention that the seating arrangement was great. It wasn't "communal" in the sense of sitting at long tables. Instead, you sat with your party (2-6 people on our visit), but the seating was in the shade in a patio overlooking the vineyards.
All 4 of us raved about the experience and it's something we won't forget about the trip. It's a very easy drive on Rt 12 from Santa Rosa. You might combine this with a visit to one of the nearby vineyards. We tried Loxton Cellars for a tasting this time, but will try Kunde or Landmark on our next visit. All of these wineries are within a few miles of St. Francis.

Nestled at the foot of Hood Mountain, St. Francis winery offers a nice tasting experience. Known for their food and wine pairings, summer movie nights, and other special events, it is a good place for visitors to the area to experience the magic of Sonoma County.

We did the wine and food pairing yesterday,May 5th.
It was excellent!
The quality of both the food and the wines were outstanding.
Heartily recommend

St. Francis Vineyard does a fabulous job with their wine and cheese pairings. They won an open table award for their food and wine pairings. Their outdoor patio is relaxing and has a great view of Mount Hood.

This has always been one of my favorite wines. The winery did not disappoint. Beautiful setting great wine and knowledgeable staff!

One of the most beautiful wineries in the Sonoma Valley with outdoor fountains, lawns, views and panoramic vistas. Lovely tasting room. Outstanding wines, especially zins and cabs. The wine/food pairing has won national recognition and it is a fabulous experience. The food is creative and expertly prepared, served with the perfect wine to compliment each course.

Pire expérience ever !! We just went. Snob place. I was asking for wine tasting in winery!!! Lady in reception area : ´ just say sorry we are full for tasting´ . Sorry because I’m in not in full suit i can’t have a wine tasting. Btw. I’m cosmetic surgeon !!! Worst ever. Maybe wine it’s good but they should consider to fire the lady in reception !!!

It’s been years since I awarded myself to this treat. Wow! Still remains fantastic and worth the $. 5-course pairing small plates but very filling and the quality superb. I had doubts since the formed chef departed, but the current chef and staff are on their job, and moreso. I don’t eat meat, and I was accommodated.. FYI, call ahead if you have dietary concerns.

Lovely garden area, pleasant tasting room, nice wines. Reservations not required so it was easy to pop in on our way north to Healdsburg. I would like to try their highly recommended food and wine pairing which takes place on their patio but it requires a reservation weeks in advance and we didn't have that luxury. Overall, it was an easy, casual tasting but not exceptional. In the nearby area, we had a fantastic experience and Kunde and Imagery.

We travelled with four other couples (college friends) to wine country. If not the highlight of the trip certainly at the top of our experiences was the food and wine pairing. The is the fourth time for us but the first for most in our party. As always the F&W pairing was absolutely perfect. Every plate and every taste of wine was scrumptious. This is a must do if you are in the area and can work it in. We’ve been a member of the wine club for 15 years or so. St Francis has beautiful grounds and some great wine. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

Beautiful grounds and buildings and our group of 12 had a nice tasting. I don't remember our server but he did a great job and we enjoyed the experience!

I loved the staff and the wine! Not normally a white wine drinker, they changed my mind! I really enjoyed this tasting, the staff was witty and fun! I will return to this amazing place again for the wine and fun! Sit on the patio and enjoy the day!

A complimentary glass of wine was offered to you as you arrived for your wine and food pairings. The dishes were well prepared and beautifully plated.
The staff was very knowledgeable and personable.
I recommend the wine and food pairing experience at the St. Francis Winery and Vineyards to anyone visiting Sonoma on a tour of wineries.

We booked the wine and food pairing for lunch for our 5th anniversary. The food was absolutely phenomenal, and of course, was paired perfectly with the wines. They say it's a light lunch, but we were perfectly full by the end. It was very romantic, and a perfect mid-day lunch for our special day. The hostesses were great, very knowledgeable, and the chef came out at the end for us to give our compliments. Best wine and food pairing in the area!

We were supposed to do the pedal bike through the vineyards, but due to the rain we ended up just doing a tasting indoors. The grounds are beautiful and the wines were very good. We actually bought quite a bit. My only criticism was that we had a host who couldn’t be bothered. The tasting room was not busy at all. He very preoccupied with three gentlemen who were there at the same time. He kept telling us he’d be right back and we would wait quite a bit for him to return. Especially when it came time for us to purchase our wine we sat for quite a long time waiting for him, even though the gentleman had left and he wasn’t with another group. Thank goodness for Mary who saw us and came over and helped us. It made what should’ve been a very enjoyable experience a not so enjoyable one.

We had a very enjoyable lunch here in Nov 2016. The setting is stunning and the food preparation were excellent. Pleasantly surprised to see all the courses were large portions and their choices for wine paring made each dish even more special. This is really a great value. My favorites were the flounder and the steak with green pepper corn sauce.
We will definitely come back. Great to come with another couple; but we enjoyed meeting & talking with the other guests.

Tried to do the wine and food pairing the last time we were in Sonoma but it was booked. This time we made a reservation way in advance. The food was amazing and the wines they poured were perfect. I believe there were 16 people seated around the table in a large dining room. The room had lots of large windows and doors so we could look out at the beautiful property. The price point is very good for all the wine and food served. Highly recommend doing this.

From 6:30 - 7:15 pm, we were served Champagne from Domaine Carneros (their sister winery) and oysters mignonette. Delightful pairing. Then we had ab interesting Smoked Twice Baked Potato (looked like a mini-muffin) that we plopped in our mouths with Cabernet Granc, Wild Oak Vineyard. Another nice pairing. My husband enjoyed the Shaved Foie Gras Torchon with apple gelee and puffed black Japonica Rice served with 2014 Sauvignon Blanc.
Then all 60 of us were gently ushered into a room with 28 two tops and 2 four tops. Each table with elegant white linen table cloths, center vase with red roses floating in water and formal silverware setting with four wine glasses.
I had Goat Cheese with frisee, spiced hazlenuts and 2014 Viognier, Wild Oak Vineyards. Very nice pairing and subtle blend of textures and flavors with the food and wine.
Next we had the absolute best way I have ever eaten lobster. The butter roasted Maine Lobster came with braised endive, blood orange puree, chevril, lobster emulsion paired with 2014 Chardonnay, Behler Vineyard. The chardonnay enhanced the already amazing essence of this lobster dish.
Next we were served Pepper Crusted Filet Mignon with truffled pommes puree, rainbow chard, mushroom a la Grecque, bordelaise sauce paired with 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, Laomarsino Vineyard. I normally do not like Cabernet because of the tannins, but this was a velvety smooth Cab that paired perfectly with this very tender, flavorful filet.
Last but not least, we had Chocolate & Roasted White Chocolate Parfait with raspberry jelly, candied almonds and 2013 Zinfandel, Giovanetti Vineyard. Executive Chef Bryan Jones is worthy of his culinary awards and more.
We have enjoyed the afternoon wine pairings here as well and decided to give their dinners a try. This was a perfect romantic venue to celebrate Valentine's Day. We will be back to share with our friends.

To be fair up front, my wife and I are wine club members here and have been for a few years.
That being said, we have had so many wonderful experiences at St Francis, and it really all starts with the people working there. They are knowledgeable, courteous, friendly, and ensure that everyone has a great time. They have a wide selection of wine styles including some lovely and refreshing whites, smooth and fruity Pinot Noirs, bold Zinfandels, and several Old Vine Zinfandels as well.
Besides the wine tasting, one of our favorite things to do is to sit on their picnic patio looking out over their estate vineyards and up onto the mountains separating Sonoma Valley from Napa Valley. While out there, you can purchase an amazing charcuterie board (this changes periodically) that includes various cured meats, cheeses, nuts, pickled vegetables, and jellies. Your host outside is more than willing to suggest and pour the perfect wine to accompany each aspect of the charcuterie as well.
These are just a few of the many things we love about St Francis Winery. Please be sure to stop by if you get a chance, I can confidently say you will not be disappointed.

We went twice. We returned to buy several items and joined the wine club. Sharon was very helpful the first time.
When we went back they told my husband that they could not give Sharon credit for the sale of our items and wine club. Kind of turned us off because we told her if we returned we would mention her name.
Plus, she helped us with the lazy susan and candle holder. Not sure if this was true or the other person wanted the sale.
Beautiful atmosphere and great wine.
They have one of the best gift shops. Since, I am a big shopper and was looking for specific stuff. They had a great variety.

This was a recommendation from the Sonoma tourist centre and a real find. The place is gorgeous and offers wine tastings and food. Our host took us through an extensive range and there was a consistency of high quality across all. $15 to taste which is returned in any purchase. We particularly loved the Zinfandel Russian river valley and Merlot behler Sonoma.

Looks like a mission and the grounds are beautiful, complete with a statue of St. Francis. The wines were delicious and we had our tasting out on the patio in the morning sun. What's not to like? Our host, (Ron?) was friendly and informative. St. Francis was one of the favorite visits of our weeklong trip!

Went to this winery for wine tasting after attending Deerfield winery. It was a busy day and we felt rushed to drink the wines by our server. The room was nice but we would have preferred to sit down to taste the wines.

We did not do a traditional tasting here. We signed up for the Gourmet Food & Wine event. Oh my! Their chef is amazing! They do three of these a day, but you must reserve in advance. You will not be disappointed!

We visited many wineries but this was among one our favorites. Beautiful scenery and lovely service and wine tasting. You must stop by and you will not be disappointed. This one stands out among the others. Very nice pours and delicious food pairings or cheese pairings. Simply divine.

The food pairing was pretty freaking spectacular. They had a cancellation and squeezed us in. The grounds are beautiful and the tasting was great (note--- if there was a head to head comparison between St. Francis and Ferrari-Corona, I would give the edge to Ferrari in the food and wine pairing) Overall, St. Francis was great. Highly recommended-Saturday 8/6/16

This is the top wine and food pairing in Napa and Sonoma. You’d expect really nice people and beautiful views and you’ll get them. But you can’t be prepared for how amazing the food is and how fantasticly well the wines pair with the food. The chef actually works with the winemakers to create wines for specific dishes. This of course means a lot of advanced planning! You’ll need to reserve way ahead. These run at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.

It is one thing to go to a tasting room and sample the fine wines available to Californians. It is another thing indeed to sit down to an elegantly appointed table with friends and family and sample fine wines paired with gourmet foods prepared by skilled chefs that bring out the subtleties of wines that simple wine tasting cannot provide. The chefs at St Francis have raised the culinary bar several notches with their expert pairings with the five fantastic wines in our pairing. Seating is very limited to just 16 guests per pairing and reservations are a must, but oh so worth it. The hostesses that assisted were knowledgeable, friendly, and service oriented to our every need. So check their calendar on their website and, if you lucky to be going to the wine country during a pairing event, I would highly recommend that you treat yourself to an experience that most people never have a chance to enjoy. Your epicurean senses will enjoy a gastronomical and viticultural marriage that will make you moan with pleasure. You'll thank me for it later, trust me on this!

What a delightful and delicious wine tasting and food pairing experience. It was very relaxing and with an informative staff.
Everything ~ the food and wines were perfect!
The even did a great job at preparing gluten free dishes for me. The dessert which was different form everyone else’s was yummy. It was a blood orange/chocolate sorbet which I am trying to duplicate at home, it was that good.

Beautiful winery that looks like a mission. We didn’t have reservations (plan in advance ) but Kelly was able to help us pick out a glass of wine that we were able to take on our self guided tour of the vineyards. I think this was the best part because this was the only winery that we actually got to walk through the grapevines. There are informative signs along the way and everything is numbered and easy to follow. The entire walk was about a mile and a half. We had a great time here!

We had a wine/small plate pairing lunch at St. Francis Winery and Vineyard. It was one of the best meals I have ever experienced. Don't miss this great venue! Book early as they do sell out!

I was there with a group of friends for a birthday celebration. We had a 7 course wine paired dinner. All of the food was excellent, even the dishes made for the vegetarian in the group. The chef and hostess did a great job explaining the wine pairings and providing wonderful service.
It is a beautiful property and really lovely for a private event. Enjoyed by all.

This was a low key tasting room experience, casual, not stuffy. Our server was fun and informative and we novices had a good time. The wines were first rate and our tasting fee was comped because we bought some wine. First rate experience.

Crowded but amazing tasting experience. Great wine beautiful winery and very friendly. We learned a lot about their wines and even joined the club. Will be back!

My wife and sister's favorite wine, it was a treat to visit for our anniversary. We didn't plan ahead far enough to do their Wine and Food pairing which from what I hear is definitely worth the time to do. We did get to partake of the Wine and Cheese pairing while there which was still very tasty. Beautiful vineyard.

spectacular visit this is a must visit winery! Ask for Kevin by the way! He's funny, extremely knowledgeable and top of the notch service! wines were paired perfectly with our courses!
The staff was amazing and super polite and friendly!
Grounds with not only very clean but absolutely stunning!
Don't pass this gem without stopping!
Don't forget to ask for Kevin for a really fun and knowledgeable experience!

Went here 2 weeks ago and had a wonderful tasting and ended up joining the wine club. It was some of the best chardonnay I ever had.

My husband and I had the wine and food pairing and it was excellent! Reservations need to be made on advance because they only serve at 12 am, 1 & 3 pm. The hosts were really nice and humorous and the setting was quaint with beautiful views of the winery. It's well worth it!

OMG St Francis never disappoints! Executive Chef Peter Janiak is truly a master...anyone who has not done the incredible food and amazing wine pairing at St Francis has to put it on their must do list.

We were hosting friends from Michigan for a weekend in Sonoma, and this was our big splurge. Booked on Open Table a month in advance. at $68 for five amazing dishes and accompanying wines, it's an incredible value - the wine pairing at Chez Panisse in Berkeley is $60 by itself! And each perfect dish harmonized in such interesting ways with each wine. The cucumber gazpacho with lime-mint granita! The artic char on sriracha aioli! The mini chicken pot pie under its crisp Parmesan biscuit crust! The beef with beets 3 ways! The mocha pot de creme! Each bite was revelatory. Our hosts were informative and helpful without being intrusive, and the 16 of us lucky people sat surrounded by the lovely vineyards. Just a dazzling experience. Plus, the wines are quite reasonable - an $18 Pinot that tastes like heaven? Yes, thank you. We will be back.

I'm here with a party of 12 for my mothers 80th birthday. We just did a food and wine pairing that was one of the best experiences of our lives. Truly a destination experience. The food, the wine, everything was spot on perfect.

This was our fourth tasting on this trip. The previous three were all great. Unfortunately this one got off to a bad start - started 15 minutes late even though you have a reserved time; no explanation from staff while waiting. Host was distracted trying to attend to other guests. Several of the wines selected for tasting were not the ones on the tasting menu and the wine was average. Emphasis was on selling wine and wine club memberships rather than letting the wine sell the customer. There are many wineries to visit in this valley, would recommend passing on this one.

We experienced the 50th anniversary tasting and really enjoyed the wines. But more importantly, the setting is beautiful. Christina did a great job of facilitating our experience and helping us fully enjoy the wines.

Two couples enjoyed the 3 p.m. elegant wine & food pairing. Lovely room, outstanding wines, friend and enthusiastic staff explaining the foods and wines-- wonderful experience! Two of us had enjoyed wine-tasting here in Feb. The winery is beautiful with a Spanish-tiled fountain and great views to the mountain range.

I have been drinking wine for over 50 years. My wife and I plan our vacations by going to wine regions and always include a tour or pairing. St. Francis's Wine and Food Pairing for $85 per head is outstanding and an excellent value ! Please see pics of the dishes with wines paired !! Come hungry !!
Now that I have posted pics, they are out of order. 1. Melon salad, 2. diver scallop, 3. pasta, 4. pork tenderloin, 5, Chocolate cake.

We took the 1:30 pm wine tasting trolley tour after the 11 am Wine and Food pairing lunch and had a wonderful time on both experiences! Lori, the guide, was fun and knowledgeable. She stopped at different areas of the vineyard to show us the variety of grapes, tell us stories, and pour more wine. She had great music blasting while we’re all pedaling away and having fun! The tour ended with more wine tastings inside the St. Francis building. Great tour!

We have visited this winery numerous times and even signed up for the wine club. It is the only wine club we belong to and we look forward to our shipments. They treat the members very well and you even get a free wine and food pairing once a year. Considering their restaurant won top 15 by Open Table a free meal is quite a reward for being a member. The Chef is amazing and pairs food that is farm fresh and very different. Don't expect the every day meal here - it's gourmet all the way. The people in the tasting room are exceptional and never push sales. They truly love talking wine and watching people enjoy. We took a friend who is a "white only" drinker and the person pouring with us spoke to her at length and then said she had a red she thought our friend would l like. Sure enough we finally found a red she can enjoy! You must visit when in Sonoma!

A stroll through a vineyard (yes, they let you take a self-guided tour through their vineyards!), a tasting of their phenomenal wines, and a bottle shared among friends in the afternoon sun on the patio. A better way to spend a day has not been found. Highly suggested!

A pleasant place to try a little wine. Nice bar atmosphere. Harry did a great job of helping with the tasting. Convinced me to join the wine club. Took a stroll around their vineyards, different varieties of grapes(not in season). They have a restaraunt you need to make reservations well in advance as they use fresh herbs in their food provided from their garden.

We were taken here by Californian friends for a wine pairings lunch event. There is a great sense that you have arrived somewhere special and the winery is in a beautiful setting. Those attending this auspicious event are brought into an impressive room and seated around two wooden curved tables. Your hostess explained how the pairings will be conducted to our gathering of 12 people and then serves the first wine, which is followed by the first food course.
The whole affair is conducted with aplomb, courtesy and friendliness. The wine and food are paired perfectly, everyone is happy and chef Bryan Jones puts in an appearance and we all applaud. It was a delightful occasion and a classy presentation by the St Francis team. Thank you!

We were wowed by the beauty of this winery. They had decent red wines. Grab a tasting and enjoy the view.

My wife and I Had 3pm wine and food pairing reservation on 05/01/2017 , in a word , Amazing . Delicious food with fantastic pairings, would recommend highly, joined wine club, can't wait for 1st shipment

Had such a wonderful afternoon here sampling wine alongside amazing food pairings - 5 courses of absolute culinary delight. Such a wonderful experience in beautiful surroundings. One of our highlights from our trip to the US this year. Highly recommended!

Enjoy wine is a lovely tuscan setting. Get a place at the wine bar and enjoy what this vineyard has to offer. Shipping is easy :)

We reserved a slot at the afternoon food and wine pairing. I had read the reviews, however I still wasn't prepared for how good the experience was going to be.
From the moment we stepped in the door, the friendly greeting from the host ensued with a glass of wine that was provided prior to the tasting event. We were made to feel welcome and valued even though this was our first visit, and we are not wine club members.
We were led to the tasting room and seated. There was a round of introductions of the seated guests as well as the hosts. Later, the chef even came out and introduced himself at the end of the tasting to cheers and applause.
The service was professional, classy, and well organized. The staff has this down to a routine, and they function like a well-oiled machine. And then there's the food. The pairings were amazing. I tasted and loved every single selection, including foods that normally we do not serve at home. The salmon was cooked to perfection. The oxtail risotto rocked it.
This is a don't miss event! You could truly make a meal out of it. The servings and pairs are inventive and well worth your time. It was the highlight of our wine country trip and will always be a great memory.

Our parents are the club members, so we go with them on their every wine pickup, it is our last stop usually to end the day with the best wines. We like all of their wines, but our all time favorite is Anthem red wine, we give Anthem wine to each other as a birthday gift. We also did wine pairing dinner last two consecutive years, hosted by knowledgeable host, engaging presenters guiding you thru each entree with stories on how Chef comes up with new food recipes. We enjoyed all pairings starting from appetizers, main course, desert, really artistic combinations of food and wines. grand finale was when chef comes out to chat with each one of us and shared one of his recipe with us.

St. Francis Winery offers the perfect place to both wine taste and also enjoy their food & wine pairing. The winery is located on the scenic Valley of the Moon Hwy (12) and has a hospitable tasting room & grounds. We enjoyed an excellent tasting conducted by Sharon Westphal.
In addition the Food & Wine Pairing can be a special treat.
At our seated, multi-course Wine & Food Pairing, Executive Chef Trevor Eliason expertly paires hand-selected Artisan Collection wines with five delectable small plates. Guests enjoy stunning vineyard views and a fine dining presentation at a shared table. Each seating is hosted by a friendly wine experts, creating a relaxing, fun and unforgettable wine country experience. Note: This is a popular destination and reservations should be made in advance of your trip if possible.
It's also possible to have a nice picnic on the grounds of the Vineyard

We reserved a wine and food pairing and loved the experience! It was held on a covered patio during COVID-19. There were about six couples or small groups seated at individual tables. Winery staff explained each small plate and wine. There were four small plates paired with wines (mostly reds), followed by a dessert paired with Port. The grounds of the winery are beautiful and the patio overlooks the vineyards. The building housing the gift shop and other tasting rooms is Mission style and very pretty. The staff were gracious and down to earth. We are not wine connoisseurs and we felt very comfortable. There is a sales pitch to join the wine club, but it is not a hard sell. We opted to buy a few bottles and have them shipped home. Highly recommend!

In Santa Rosa for a hockey tourney and my wife did some research so we went down the road and checked this place out. The grounds are beautiful and you can see where last year's fire came down the mountain side. Thankfully this place was spared. We wandered in to the tasting room which was spacious and airy with great views of the surrounding vineyard and mountains. We were greeted by one of the staff whose name escapes ( he's from Peru). Warmly welcomed and there was no discussion of tasting prices, he launched in to story of St Francis, started pouring and the rest was history. He lauded us with tales of his life and intertwined that with his extensive knowledge of the wines of St Francis ( and wine in general ). He made our day. We enjoyed there wine so very much that we actually joined the wine club and a few of our party purchased as well. We finished up with our refreshed glasses of our favorite pour out on the beautiful terrace while he finalized our purchases and wine club membership. It was a great time and just reiterated how much we prefer Sonoma wineries over Napa. Do not miss this place if you're in the area.

A truly beautiful winery and grounds; particularly enjoyed the Cab Franc and the information and kindness from Sharon. I'm in wine industry in Calaveras County, so please let Sharon know my appreciation for her attention.

St. Francis Vineyards found a gem in Karen! She was not just well informed, but fun and ebullient as well! SHE made our stop memorable and we look forward to enjoying the wines she recommended, that we enjoyed!

we really enjoyed the self guided tour of the vineyards. afterwards we enjoyed a flight of wine sitting outside on the beautiful patio area.

The Mr. and I stayed in downtown Sonoma, so we chose to drive out to St. Francis and then work our way back into town later in the day.
St. Francis is a great place to start off a day of tastings. It's large enough to give you a sense of the area, with a tasting room full of a wide variety of guests, and a lovely selection of retail options.
The wines themselves are tasty, ranging from those that can be found at any major wine retailer, to estate wines and everything in between.
The hosts are wonderful. The Mr. and I had two different hosts during our visit, each with their own take on the wines they poured. I loved listening to them explain the wines to the other guests as well. It was all I could do not to jump into some of the conversations going on around me . . . we all had a love of wine in common, after all.
I highly recommend this winery to folks who'd rather stick to Sonoma but want to enjoy a larger tasting room experience. It's big . . . but not too big. Friendly . . . without being intrusive.

Lunch with wine pairings. Amazing food with creative and delicious pairings. Set aside an afternoon to enjoy this wonderful chef and winery. The room is inviting with a circular table set up to create an environment that welcomes conversation. An excellent lunch stop. Put it on your schedule.

Our favorite winery of our trip! Get the Estate Pairing. Great food, great wine, great time!! We only stayed for our tasting because we had more places scheduled but could have easily just relaxed and stayed for much longer if we had time.

This tasting room has a wide selection of wines, to appeal to a wide range of people. The employees are knowledgeable and helpful. A nice selection of wine gifts

We took a friend who’d never been to wine country and St. Francis didn’t disappoint. The vineyards had good color and a very nice view of the hills. Karen gave us a top notch wine tasting -she was informative and personable and made it a great experience for all of us. Good wine and a great tasting overall-highly recommend!

We are wine club members and have experienced lunches at St Francis for the past 3 years. At each visit, we continue to be fascinated with the chef's creativity, pairing wines with the perfect entrees and presented as a piece of art!
The Wine Experts who narrate your exciting journey thru your dining experience tie everything together perfectly . We have been to other wine pairing events nothing compares to what St Francis offers and always look forward to our next visit.

Was really happy or day in Santa Rosa started at St. Francis. The grounds were beautiful and the wine was incredible. The staff was very welcoming and our host Megan gave us great recommendations for the rest of the day. Well worth a stop.

We came for the lunch and wine pairing which was fantastic. After, we got to explore the winery and their beautiful grounds. The mountains are a perfect back drop! The wine was lovely too.

My wife and I went for the seasonal pairing lunch. This was a 5 course meal with each course paired to one of their wines. The food was excellent. The greens and herbs came from their own organic garden. The tasting hosts were knowledgeable and gracious. Limited seating due to COVID so lots of conversation with our fellow guests. Highly recommended.

The winery sits a little bit off the main road facing a beautiful range of mountains. The food and wine experience is conducted in a very lovely setting. The combination of food and wine are just superb!

This winery located in the Valley of Moon not only has wonderful wines but it has views that are splendid! For a real treat do their food/wine paring - it is an experience you won't forget! Rated #1 in the country!! They have live music frequently and also movie nights….so check their calendar of events an enjoy the location!

We did the Food and Wine Pairing and the food was excellent and Marina was a great host. Would recommend this to everyone.

Visited here for the HOSVA event. I t was a most wonderful visit! The wines offered, were, of course, the current ones they're trying to market. The winery is a super nice place! Wines are quite nice.

WOW!!! We loved this place! The wine was wonderful and Deb was awesome! Highly recommend this place!

We've been members at St. Francis for a while now. We've tried a lot of other wineries too (and memberships). St. Francis has hands down (IMHO) the best wines and member tasting room in Sonoma County. The personnel are fabulous and the reserve wines that members enjoy are consistently complex, delicious and heavenly. We also enjoy the Wine and Food Pairing perk. Voted the #1 restaurant on Open Table, it's a taste adventure that transports your senses - the food, the wine, the ambiance and the view! Highly recommend adding St. Francis to your list the next time you go wine tasting.

Saw reviews for this place and decided to check it out. Beautiful place, and wine tasting was nice. Ended up buying two bottles.

One of the best wineries in Sonoma Merlot
Isexcellent Great sale people very nice are not pushy or you to buy anything there Merlot case like sweet butter It's been the same for 35 years which is really great lovely views and you can even have a picnic there if anybody comes to Sonoma County they must go there

The food was sublime. The pairings were the best I have ever had. The ways in which the wine complemented the food and the food complimented the wine was magical. They have three tastings a day and we felt a bit rushed out so they could set up for the next seating. If not for the time issue, this would be a five. It is a bit pricey at 65 pp, but worth it. The grounds are beautiful and the tasting room very nice.

Great self-guided walking tour followed by a fantastic light lunch with wine pairing. The winery is beautiful & we are so glad that we picked this one to visit.

This was a great place to go for people who want a winery experience without an extensive tasting. We were able to get wine by the glass and take it on a self guided tour of the vineyards, which was also nice as we were in a larger group. It was one of the only places in the area open after 3pm, which was perfect because we were hiking during the day. The grounds are beautiful, as was the tasting room and bar, and the service was great.

Based on TripAdvisor recommendations, my wife and I made reservations for their food pairing and we really enjoyed it. Got a better appreciation and education of how certain wines enhance food. We would highly recommend it!

Went for the seated wine and food pairing and it was exceptional!! It's a group experience (all seated at common tables) but our hostesses were excellent, the food delicious and very well paired with the wine, and it all happened at a leisurely pace. Overall, a lovely experience.

St. Francis has amazing wine and food pairings three times a day Thursday to Monday. This pairings change with the seasons and the three times I have gone each was fantastic. Generally, they are 5-6 small bites paired with an appropriate St. Francis wine. I can't think of a better way to taste wines and learn what sort of foods go well with each food type.

It was very crowded when we visited but we still enjoyed. Not our favorite winery but definitely stop here if you are looking for a winery that is close to the main road and you don't have much time.

My family and I were traveling to the SanFran area. We had four adults and four children in our group. Some of the adults wanted to tour wineries in the area. St. Francis Winery and Vineyards was a perfect choice since we had children in our group. The whole group took the self-guided vineyard tour. It was intersting to view the vineyard process. It kept the kids occupied too! After the self-guided tour, some of the adults when to the tasting area and sampled wine. The grounds were so beautiful that the children could remain outside and out of the way. A definite must visit espeically if you are traveling with children.

We had an absolutely wonderful wine tasting experience at St. Francis Winery & Vineyards, and I can’t recommend it enough! The mission-style estate is stunning, with its iconic bell tower and beautifully manicured grounds, making every moment feel like a postcard-worthy escape into wine country.
Our wine educator, Kevin, truly made the experience unforgettable. His knowledge of the wines and the Sonoma region was impressive. Kevin’s warm and attentive service made us feel so welcome—he went above and beyond, pouring generous tastings and ensuring my wife and I had a personalized experience.
Whether you’re a wine novice or a connoisseur, St. Francis, with its scenic beauty and outstanding staff like Kevin, is a must-visit. I’m already looking forward to my next trip!

St Francis winery was ment to be our 1st stop of 4 on our day out visiting vineyards, let’s just say we didn’t go to another 1, we arrived early afternoon and we done the self tour around the vineyards reading all the information on the 10 different short stops, we then went inside to do some tastings, the wonderful gentleman that served us an Italian man ( sorry I cannot remember your name ) he was great and so knowledgeable about the wines and the area, we ended up tasting 6 different wines, we bought 2 bottles, 1 to enjoy on their patio and the other to bring back to Ireland, we enjoyed our bottle so much on the patio that we bought another 1, so needless to say we never went to our other 3 vineyards, this vineyard is a must stop off if you are in the area.

I'm a club member so I can have access to the wine club room for pick up of my wine and wine tasting but I highly recommend staying and doing some tasting in the main area. Staff is so much friendlier and the atmosphere more fun. Well worth the money. Reasonably priced wines too.

St Francis is what they label as a mid-size winery, but it sure seems very large when you consider their production and scale of operation. We enjoyed our visit here because it is a beautiful place and the staff were very nice. The wine tasting was rather straight forward but not exciting. I have had St Francis wines over the years and not been disappointed but we were looking for the very special on our trip and did not find it here.
Still worthy of a visit for good but not great wines.

St. Francis will remain one of those places that no matter how many times you visit, it never gets old or boring. The staff is friendly and accommodating and their wines are delicious and diverse for every palate. I first fell in love with their zins but have not yet found any of their wines that I did not enjoy. Every visit is very relaxing and every sip of their wine makes me want to plan my next return to the winery. If visiting, plan in advance and book your lunch experience at the winery - definitely worth it. The chef is amazing and does a great job preparing seasonal dishes and using local ingredients to pair with their wines. My husband and I enjoyed it so much, we each have our own separate wine club membership at St Francis.

Sounds like a great time to me . . . You owe it to yourself to check out St Francis. Quality wines at affordable prices and a beautiful location.

The day we visited, there were a lot of people & we should have made reservations to do the food pairings. We aren't fans of goat cheese, so the cheese platter was out for us as well...so hubby and I decided to share a tasting & enjoy the back yard, which is just gorgeous. The servers were very laid back & super busy, so I just went back & forth with my glass from the patio to the bar inside. We really enjoyed just relaxing and taking in the views. The wines were good, but nothing that stood out for us.

What a lovely experience. The five-course dinner was amazing, and, of course, perfectly matched with the wines. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and professional. The setting is so peaceful and serene. It was the highlight of my vacation.

We received a coupon from our concierge for a small plate and wine tasting here at a discount and we could not be more pleased! All of the staff was so pleasant and helpful and we absolutely enjoyed every minute we spent here. The wine complimented the food perfectly and we ended up taking a bottle back to Canada with us. Highly record this as one of your last stops for a snack before dinner when in the Santa Rosa region!!

St. Francis Winery is tucked away, but worth finding. The architecture is quaint and the scenery gorgeous. The wine isn't bad, either! Great gift shop.

This was one of several wineries that we enjoyed. Not because it was unique, (It was the same old "Pay us"), but because we enjoy this wine. If you din't like St. Francis, skip this.

Ok. Let me start by saying the lunch wine pairing was absolutely stunning. Absolutely delicious food with great Wine pairings. Fun group of folks to enjoy the day always make for a special day. Do yourself a favor and get you yourself to St. Francis. Signup for either a lunch or dinner wine pairing. You will not retreat.
Order at least 6 bottles and u get 15% off
Truly a special day. Take the time and get yourself out here for a visit. Hostesses are amazing. They really made it a great day Thank you!!!

Stoped by here on the way to Sonoma, had a fun time. Staff was knowledgeable and we enjoyed the wine and views

Beautiful ambience with a a wonderful villa terrace looking into the hillsides. Our table host Alex had a wonderful personality and very engaging. We purchased the 50th anniversary flight which was right up our "red" fan favorites. We enjoyed every one while we soaking up the mid-morning sunshine. We ended up purchasing the 2017 Sangiovese "Caro Santo" from Sonoma Valley and the 2016 Syrah from Russian River Valley. We thought about the wine club, but decided to purchase instead, resample at home and reconsider after we did another at home tasting. We were able to add the Sangiovese to our tasting after sharing what types of wines we enjoyed.

During our trip to wine country I think we all agreed this was our favorite. Besides the beautiful grounds and vineyard(which many have) the service here was really the most friendly. We litter ally spent an hour tasting(they were not stingy at all on the tastings- even when we were being cheap and sharing a tasting). We were really surprised at how much we enjoyed the wines. Zinfandel- old vine- never imagined we'd enjoy that so much. The views of the hills and vineyards were outstanding. Truly a romantic setting with a partner sitting out back. He grounds were beautiful and well maintained. There is a hidden gem out front... Massive old oak that is perfect for a quick pic sitting on a knarly old limb.

We booked a food and wine pairing here some months in advance. The tasting room staff seemed overwhelmed when we arrived for check in at the busy tasting room but we were given a white to start with and then sat out on the patio. We went as a group into the large comfortable room and had 5 courses courses paired with their wines. We liked the wines and the food was very good. Most were served at room temp and not hot. We got to meet our chef at the end and ask questions. It was expensive but very good and made us want to try others in Sonoma as this was our first one.

What a beautiful winery and wine tasting!
This was our only wine stop and it was fantastic! The vineyard and tasting room is beautiful, We had a great wine tasting experience with Karen who made it fun and informative. We sat on the back patio after the tasting and took in the view, walked around the grounds. Great fun day. This is one winery you have to visit.

We've been St Francis wine club members since 2009. This was our first visit back to Sonoma and the first time we had the pleasure of enjoying the Food and Wine Pairing menu. WOW! it was special. The service was delightful. The wines perfectly matched to the food. The 4 of us are still talking about it. Our friend who does not like fish thought it was to die for good. A great time was had by all.

This was a father-daughter trip with Dad being 86. He fancies himself a wine connoisseur. The wine-food pairing was unparalled among our 6+ winery stops on this trip. The intimate setting and great folks to share the experience with helped, but the food taste and presentation was fantastic; the wines top notch and they pour more generously than most :) Renee and Andrea, thank you! The grounds, the hospitality, the gift shop, all were terrific. It is smaller than others but in the end, that is a bonus, not a detriment. TREAT yourself, make a reservation for the wine-food pairing, Great value. My dad will remember this fondly until the day he dies..literally. So will my sister and I.

I wanted so much to give this a 5-star review, as both the food and the wine pairings were awesome (see photos of the food attached to my review), but the wine pours were very inconsistent, and mostly very small. I was not expecting a full glass of wine with each course (there were 5 of them). But, I was expecting enough wine to enjoy the entire course of food. More often than not, the amount of wine was no more than a 2-ounce pour except for the dessert course. I would recommend this to anyone going to Sonoma and this winery, but just know up front that you may need to ask for more wine or be disappointed in the amount you are served.

Driving along Route 12 an impressive building appears along with an imposing rock entry gate - a mission style building with a tasting room and gift store inside. The views are beautiful hills and vineyards ,,serving estate style/Russian River selections...friendly place, lots to see and big gift selection,You are invited to try selections of "small-production Artisan" wines daily 10 to 5 pm. We had fun, it was hot, but we sat outside and enjoyed a our wine.

A week ago, my wife and I and another couple went to Saint Francis for the Wine and Food Pairings. It was excellent. Sadly, I enjoyed this food and wine event such that I didn't take any pictures of the food or wine. With that said, I'd highly recommend the experience.

The small group pairing event by reservation is a treat. The combinations which vary over time are sensitively crafted and delicious. Of the five wines presented the Blend of stainless and oak fermented Chardonnay from martinelli grapes was the standout and was worth a purchase and ship. Other wines were of interest but not the greatest...it was the pairing itself that was the treat. Worth a detour. Sbragia winery remains the benchmark. Casual attire is accepted.

This vineyard has it all. We had a fantastic tasting of many different varietals in the beautiful tasting room. Every wine was excellent. We would have taken a bottle of each one home if we hadn't been getting on a plane the next day. There are tables to sit outside to enjoy the view of the hills beyond the vineyards. Highly recommend. One of my favorite vineyards in California.

We did the wine tasting with the food. Absolutely wonderful experience. The wines were great and our server was super descriptive and attentive.

Contrary to the few negative reviews given on this winery I have visited from out of state at least a dozen times over the past 20 years and the wines and service have been excellent. Sometimes people come in with an attitude and then end up disappointed. I would highly recommend visiting St Francis Winery for great wines, tasting room and overall experience.

My husband surprised me to a wine pairing and tasting. The food was excellent and so was the wine. The ladies were very helpful with explaining the wines and how they complemented the food experience. I must say however, that based on the cost of the tasting, we did expect more food. It was nice for a light lunch. Do not go hungry.

This is really how wine should be not only paired with great food but an in depth explanation of what you are experiencing.
Best wine pairing we have experienced in Napa or Sonoma. This came highly recommended and it did not let us down.

St Francis is absolutely gorgeous with amazing views of the vines and mountains around you. So romantic and beautiful. They were starting to set up for a wedding that night and that must have been breathtaking. No appointment necessary for the wine tasting and we enjoyed a wine and cheese pairing. The chef paired the most amazing local Mt Tam cheese from Cowgirl Creamery with a Chardonnay and it was incredible. The pairings were perfect and really enhanced the wine and the cheese-the way it's supposed to be. Not terribly expensive and left with a bottle of Wine. The server that helped us with the wine even offered us other wine tastings - so friendly and attentive.

I booked the Wine and Food pairing for several adults during an extended family birthday celebration. There are 3 seatings per day on most days of the week. We had 16 people at our 11 am Saturday seating and were led to a beautiful and spacious tasting room where eight of us sat at 2 semi-curved tables that faced one another.
However, we didn't realize until the moment we sat down in the lovely private dining room that there was a brand new chef--Trevor Eliason. Our hostess explained that he had just started one week ago and had worked every single day since to execute his vision.
I was initially worried--my boss had recommended this experience to us based on the previous chef. New chefs generally needs time to get their footing and smoothly transition. Yet Eliason (formerly of Far Niente Winery, per his LinkedIn profile) showed great skill in the final two exquisite pairings--his grilled lamb chop with a cheddar cauliflower puree, cipollini onions, marinated squash and craisin chimichurri (paired with the 2014 Cabernet Franc) and the Meyer Lemon buttermilk pound cake with a pecan-toffee brittle, Tahitian vanilla ice cream, and huckleberry sauce (paired with a 2015 Port).
If we had only had those 2 pairings, I would give the experience a full 5 stars. I thought the three other pairings were very good but not yet at the transcendent level. Moreover, my husband (who is lactose-intolerant) was really annoyed that his first dish, (the lactose-free version of chicken with house-made fettuccine in parmesan reggiano cream, corn, snap peas, and chives) was chicken with undressed pasta. I asked if there was even some olive oil on it and he said no. He has eaten in other restaurants where chefs have had to modify their tasting menus and come up with creative and tasty alternatives. We recognize it's a challenge and can take some time to consider. This is why I always announce his dietary issue when I make the reservation. Thus, being served this as a first dish was truly surprising. It's like the kitchen was caught unaware and didn't know what else to do but send out bland, un-sauced pasta with the chicken. For the record, my standard sauced pasta was delicious and creamy.
Since the first course was so disappointing to him, my husband stood up, found the hostess, and told her to ask the chef to make every subsequent dish in the standard manner with cream/butter/cheese. He then just took a handful of Lactaid pills.
I declined to try my husband's bland pasta with chicken, but he was suitably irritated the remainder of the 90 minute meal that it cast a pall over our party's enjoyment of the tasting. I worried my mother-in-law, who is vegan but eats shellfish/fish, would have an even worse experience (since she didn't get the double cut candied bacon, the lamb chop, etc.). However, the chef sent out a scallop instead of the lamb chop, beets instead of bacon, and she seemed pleased. She doesn't frequently eat tasting menus but mentioned she usually just eats "around the meat" at restaurants that don't customize menus for her. Thus, it was nice that they were able to offer alternate items instead of meat.
Fortunately, the last two dishes saved the day. We all paused and marveled at how the flavors brought out the best in the wine. The port in particular was a surprise, as we're so accustomed to a heavier chocolate dessert but the Meyer lemon poundcake and the tantalizing huckleberry sauce were heavenly.
I'd recommend the experience for other visitors to the winery who don't have dietary restrictions.

First we went to the main lobby to register and then looked around the vineyard with a complimentary glass of sauvignon blanc to get us in the right mood.
We then went to the restaurant/wine tasting room. To begin the two hostesses gave a good run down of St Francis’ wines and how they would pair with food. Descriptions of food and wine pairing were given in more details when each dish was presented.
My friend and I could not take dairy products and St Francis modified the dishes slightly to accommodate our needs. Every single dish was delicious. The dining room was simple but elegantly furnished with two half circular tables facing each other and two hostesses standing at the ends of the tables. Found the wine explanations were interesting and informative.
To top this all up two of the guests were sopranos and they performed briefly to entertain us. The powerful voices echoed around the room made the lunch experience unforgettable.
The only complain I would make is that the lunch duration of 1.5 hours is too short not enough time to digest & enjoy the experience!

Our first of two tastings in Sonoma Valley and definitely worth the ride over from Napa. A beautiful setting with statues and Gardens leading up to the building which housed a standing tasting with outdoors facing the vineyard. We were there for a food and wine tasting pairings and once again were thrilled with the food prepared. The wine was excellent and more moderately priced. We are red drinkers mostly so we passed by(tasted, but not bought) the whites and also the Cabs since that is more Napa. What we enjoyed and recommend was the Rose and also the Zinfandel(but wait for the extra pour which is the Bacchi Old Vine Zinfindel, much better than the one with the pour and basically similar in price. Service was very friendly. Definitely worth the drive.

Warmly greeted with no reservations and served by Karen who was personable and knowledgable . Beautiful property with hourly tours (that we did not take .) wines were very good and affordable. Enjoyed their 2013 and 2014 cabs. Recommended!!

As members of Sequoia Grove, we visited sister winery St. Francis upon a recommendation from our Sequoia Grove host. What a disappointment. The woman managing the tasting room that day was so rude and unfriendly. She actually pulled our server away from our table by the elbow -- mid-sentence! -- and told her to take care of another table. It was so awkward. We went to five other vineyards during our Napa visit, and each of the others made us feel so welcome. With over 500 wineries in Napa Valley, St. Francis would be wise to insist that their staff treat guests better.

A friend who's a wine club member recommended this winery to us. First, I'd like to say this winery is beautiful. They thought of everything when they built this tasting room. I wish I could say the same for the wine servers. When we arrived there was a group of people tasting. We were just 2 people. We waited to be acknowledged before we took a place at the tasting counter and no one ever made eye contact with us. We went up and asked if we could taste for 2. A lady server came by and told us a little bit about St. Francis but not about the wines. I had to ask more information. Then, this server and her assistant acted snooty and ignored us for the rest of our tasting. We decided perhaps this winery was not interested in being hospitable to us. If this is how they treat their customers, we didn't want to be treated this way. Never again.

Great place to visit, Try the one in red with different reviews and rewards, Merlo, Cabernet, Zininfeld and the port

You will be pleasantly surprised that this winery has some of the best wine in No. CA!!!
The service is friendly and polished, the food is fantastic. Cant say enough - you need to go here!

My husband and I have been here twice - we have done a wine and food pairing and also a tasting at the bar. Both wonderful experiences. The wines are amazing and speak for themselves, the winery is beautiful, so peaceful and relaxing, great views, nice merchandise (very yummy chocolates!!!). The staff are very friendly, knowledgable, take time to get to know you and your preferences, we never felt rushed. We joined their wine club on the 2nd visit and can't wait to go back!!

We booked a wine and food pairing on Open Table for Mid May for the two of us. We have heard and read much about this place and we're excited about our first experience with them. They have received America #1 choice for place to dine in America, according to Open Table. This is an accomplishment as this place is a winery, that also pairs food from ac Excutive Chef.
We arrived early to tour the grounds which are lovely, well balanced, great use of color without flowers. Lost of Japanese Maples, my favorite tree and extremely well pruned.
When lunch was served at 1:00pm, we were ushered into a beautiful room with a fireplace, built in cabinets and lovely furniture. Only 16 guests split between two tables. Intimate, community feel and a wonderful vibe.
The wine was stunning and surprised us both. I was wowed with the character of the Chardonnay and we both feel in love with the Miratage. Big surprises for sure as I adore red and feel head over heels for a white.
Pairings were done to perfection with grace and wit. Unusual or over the top, they never stopped amazing us with the talent. Food was paired with art and style. The flavors were incredible and Oh My Gods worth. The five course event included substance, heft and note taking. I am better educated CTA (Certified Tourism Ambassador) and a really happy camper.
We will be back and St. Francis is now on my list of recommendations for my friends, family and guests.

This is an excellent winery with a great self-guided tour through the vineyards. I am not a wine expert but found the setting beautiful, the tour informative, and the hosts who sold us our wine knowledgeable. Since I didn't visit other wineries I cannot make comparisons based on price, but I did find the price per glass of wine to be quite steep. Also, I wish there was a little more information on the self-guided tour about the different varieties of grapes and the newer crops that have recently been planted that we could see. Overall, I was very happy to have selected this as the one winery we visited while spending time in the Sonoma Valley.

Gorgeous views and a great clock tower to boot! The wine tasting we participated in was wonderful and Mary was super nice. Professional and friendly, she explained the history of the vineyard and was a pleasure to talk to. The outdoor patio is stunning and a perfect place to taste wine and have charcuterie! And of course, purchase some wine!

Beyond the available wine tastings and vineyard guided or self-guided tours, what you really should not miss at St. Francis is the incredible Wine & Food Pairing they offer, though this will require you to plan ahead, as this three-times-daily event is sold out virtually all of the time. Reservations are accepted starting three months in advance.
This was the second time we have done this, making a point to do so on trips to California from Michigan. As a person who spent a 25-year career in the wine trade, I can tell you unequivocally that this St. Francis Wine & Food Pairing is the best I've ever encountered.
There are three seatings offered daily Thursday - Monday (closed Tuesday and Wednesday) at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Cost is $85 per person, with space limited to 16 guests at a communal round table. The menu changes seasonally, so I'll not provide details here, but the experience includes five wines matched with five small plate presentations. "Small plate" may not sound like much, but having attended the 11:00 a.m. seating, we were just barely hungry when we sat down to dinner at 7:00 p.m. that night. Take at look at the St. Francis website to find the current menu.
In case you think this is hype, take note that St. Francis, even though it's a winery, has won Open Table's prestigious "Restaurant of the Year" award twice -- in both 2014 and 2015. More recently, San Francisco Magazine voted its Wine and Food Pairing the "Best of Wine Country for 2018". And if that's not enough to get your attention, consider that in 2018 St. Francis brought home 11 awards from the "USA Wine Ratings Awards" including Winery of the Year, Best Wine of the Year (2015 Reserve Merlot) and Best in Show, just to name a few. Hope this gives you the idea that St. Francis should be on your list!!!!!
Bottom line, if you plan to be anywhere in Napa/Sonoma wine country, it's worth it to go out of your way for this experience. HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

This has bypassed the Italianate feel and gone for a Mission motif. A statue of St. Francis greets you at the door, and the bell actually has a history. Lovely inside, our pourer was full of stories about the wines, the grapes and the valley. Great outside patio overlooking the vines, and wonderful inside gift shop with some items I've never seen before. They go out of their way to be a bit more unique. Enjoyed our visit immensely.

Beautiful location. We enjoyed the Estate Pairing. Each of the wines and the 'lite bites' they served were fabulous. The staff was friendly.

What an excellent winery to start the day. Debbie and Rony provided excellent knowledge and service. Loved all the big bold reds! We were hooked so we became wine club members.

We have been wine club members at St. Francis for several years. We keep coming back for outstanding wine. They keep getting better every year! The food and wine pairing is THE BEST and changes seasonally using locally (often onsite) grown vegetables and fresh faire paired expertly with the wines ensuring you get the best out of the varietals. We are sure to catch it on a date lunch. GREAT for visitors new to Sonoma County and locals like us. The leadership team under Chris Silva are always professional and knowledgeable. We also enjoy the charcuterie/cheese pairings on the patio. St. Francis captures all of what is good in Sonoma County and their wine is not to be missed. It will hold up with the best and often surpasses!

We came here as a group of 6. Due to COVID we could only book reservations for 3 but they helped us get set up with two groups of three. The campus is incredibly beautiful, with views of the mountains in the background. Our host did a great job of taking car of us and explaining all the wine and food combinations. All of it was delicious, all three couples ended up joining their wine club. This will be at the top of my list when we return to the area.

Very friendly winery with many good wines. Large tasting room and lots of accessories and food items to purchase. Separate wine club tasting room with additional wines.

Oh, my goodness; how can I describe how enjoyable this stop was. We just happened along StFrancis while our tasting - And just kept falling In love with the place!
We did the wine and cheese pairing on the patio option. Ooo lalah! What a great thing. Clare, our hospitality expert did a fantastic job of explaining the winery, their process and goal of product, and the whys and how’s in the cheese pairings (all local as “what grows together goes together,” right?).
And the view of the vineyard(s) and the hills beyond - soooo relaxing. Cant recommend this enough!

Visited Tues 10am, received a friendly welcome. Who knew this is the best time for wine tasting! We sat outside and enjoyed the absolutely beautiful views of the vineyard and rolling hills. Our visit today reminded me of when we visited Sonoma years ago, relaxing and didn’t feel so commercial, took our time learning about each wine, and everyone seemed glad to see you. Loved it! We learned new things from Rony and appreciate his refreshing approach. Especially enjoyed the 2019 Chardonnay Wild Oak and the Eletto wines. Highly recommend an early morning visit to St Francis!

Over the years Karen & I have stopped in to taste the Saint Francis wines and take some away with us. This was one of the first wineries we ever tasted at in the Sonoma Valley. They make us feel at home. The wines are well made. The staff knowledgeable in their explanations well not being overbearing.

Great experience enjoying wine and cheese paring on the patio last summer. Delicious wines and cheese, knowledgeable server and magnificent view of vineyards and Gun Sight Rock!

We scheduled a wine and cheese pairing for 4 and had a 5 year old with us as well. There was a line in front when we walked in to check in and while waiting, we were served a Sauvignon Blanc which I thought was very nice as they seemed to care that we were waiting and just wanted us to feel at home.
Once seated we did not feel rushed to eat and drink through the pairing. We were seated outside on a table with umbrella overlooking the vineyard and surrounding mountains, very beautiful. The pour was measured and we were told about the wine and cheese. All the cheeses were local and were quite tasty. The highlight wine of the tasting was the 2015 Russian River Valley Syrah and we subsequently purchased a bottle. We felt the price for wine cheese pairing was more than fair but don't expect to get full as its just a small portion of cheese.
The 5 year old was kept busy by playing in their outside garden and she was given a special juice and crackers which was very considerate. We went in the afternoon which was a little hot so didn't get a chance to walk around a lot.
We were only asked once if we wanted to join their wine club and after politely declining we were never asked again so that was nice not to be pushed. Customer service was stellar and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We would come back and enjoy more syrah!

We arrived a bit to early to do a tasting here but we did have the grounds and the vineyards to ourselves for a short while. The winery is quite beautiful and has a very relaxing outdoor area just off the main shop and tasting room. Very worthwhile stop while touring the area.

This is definitely one of our favorite wine experiences! We were greeted by 2 lovely ladies Pamela & Desire, John took us to our table and was very informative about the winery. Followed by a sweet young lady named Haley who was assisting our soon to be server Kevin and also provided insight into the winery.
Kevin was knowledgeable, professional and a true pleasure to be served by. We had 5 courses of exceptional tapas paired with the perfect wines. We enjoyed it so much we joined their wine club because we know we will be back. I would strongly recommend this for winery for customers to visit and for competitors to emulate.

If you want a fantastic experience, do the wine and food pairing at St. Francis Winery. It is elegant and the most fantastic food ever. If this pairing is the only thing you do while in wine country, you will not be disappointed.

This winery has a gorgeous patio and vineyard view with Hood Mountain as a backdrop. The tasting room is typical of its genre. However, the staff is excellent providing providing knowledge about their wines. The outdoor setting is anything but typical.
The wines, especially the old vine Zins, are very good, indeed. In addition to the Zin, I can recommend the Sauvignon Blanc. Wines are quite personal; therefore, your choice may well be different but you will love one of those you taste. Cheers!

...not just by the quality wine, but also by the extraordinary beauty of this vineyard and the landscape around it. The Zinfandels brought us to this place, and we emerged with the 2013 Zinfandel from the Banti Vineyard as our favorite.
Our knowledgeable tasting guide let me know that some vineyards regularly give tasting fee discounts if you pay with a Signature Visa. I had no idea! So check your cards and inquire next time you go wine tasting.

Every red wine here is incredible. Karen and Sharon did a wonderful job taking care of our group of 8.

Y friends and I traveled to St Francis for a wine pairing event. The food was spectacular and the wine fabulous. We were so impressed we became wine club members.

Beautiful views, albeit the 2017 fires have made their mark. Very friendly staff, wonderful tasting wines. Too bad we did not think to reserve ahead for the wine and food pairing because this sells out quickly.

I reserved late lunch reservations at 3pm here for my husband’s birthday. We arrived at 3:05 after a phone call. They not only gave our whole lunch/dinner away but then wouldn’t even allow us a tasting with food. This is the worst tasting experience I’ve ever had in my life and I will never go back here. Don’t bother making reservations because it does not matter to any of the workers here. The worst experience I’ve ever had at any winery ever.

This, by far, was the winery that had the most beautiful outdoor patio and unobstructed view of the incredible mountains and hills! We loved the wines and sat drinking them casually outside on a perfect sunny day! We could customize the tasting to our wine preferences. I would certainly recommend a stop here!

My 6th time to experience the best wine and food pairing at St Francis. The journey is hosted by two knowledgeable, engaging presenters guiding you thru each entree. Wine pairing is perfectly matched and am in awe how the chef arranges the food as a work of art. High 5 to the new chef! Looking forward to my next ultimate dining experience at St Francis Winery.

For our anniversary made our way while on vacation up the road to St Francis. Enjoyed a very nice bottle of wine while relaxing on their lawn. The band started around 7 and then we lounged on our blanket with a nice crowd for a movie under the stars. Very nice crowd with a great cross section of folks made for a great experience. Food truck for a light bite, and beautiful grounds to explore as well.

St. Francis Winery was by far, the favorite place for everyone in my group! The views were spectacular! It looks like a postcard and provides an excellent backdrop for pictures! I can imagine that sitting on the patio with a glass of wine to be an amazing way to spend an afternoon.
My group did the Trolley Tour, which is $50 per person and well-worth every penny! There are 12 people per tour with one guide for 90 mins and this includes your tasting. Considering that tastings at other places are $35, this is a deal! We arrived 15 minutes before our tour time to fill out the waivers and use the bathroom before getting on the trolley. Close-toed shoes are recommended, but not required. I would avoid heels, wedges, or flip-flops as those would make pedaling on the trolley difficult. I wore flat sandals that were fully secured to my foot and was fine.
We all fastened our seatbelts on the trolley and pedaled around the vineyard. Everyone sits at a bicycle seat and pedals while the guide drives which is a really unique experience. Our guide Lori was fantastic! She would stop at different parts of the vineyard to give us information. She also stopped a few times for us to get off the trolley, walk around the vineyard, take pictures, and eat some grapes off the vines. We got to try 3 different wines during the 45 minutes that we were on the trolley, and this was separate from the tasting.
After our 45 minute trolley experience, we had our official tasting inside, which Lori facilitated for us. She gave us wines that she thought we would like based on what she had learned about us on the trolley. All of the wines were outstanding! The 2016 Malbec was amazing and I bought a bottle!

We wanted to enjoy this tasting the last time we were in wine country but they were all booked up so we made sure to make our reservation in advance this time. I'm so glad we did because this food & wine pairing was so good! We started with a scallop over basil risotto and I ate it before I took a picture! Then we had cucumber soup gazpacho all I can say about this soup is it was like an explosion of summer time in my mouth. It was so refreshing and flavorful, I could have eaten a whole bowl. Then we had their version of a ham and grilled cheese sandwich with prosciutto and béchamel sauce besides the soup I think this was my favorite. We then had some steak and finished the tasting with a yummy Pot de Crème with a little churro that tasted like a beignet. The wine was really delicious and we enjoyed it so much we joined their wine club. This is a must do tasting when visiting wine country and believe me when I say you will not be disappointed.

The view is spectacular here! A great venue for a wedding. The service was amazing and very friendly. The food and wine pairing was just fabulous. Amazing chef! Beautiful place to relax and hangout with a group.

Enjoyed a sunday afternoon in July at St Francis Winery listening to live music, sipping wine and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. We brought a picnic lunch and a few chairs, purchased a lovely bottle of wine and had a perfect afternoon. The vineyard is so scenic!

good wine and a good pairing of various wines with selected food . . . a really nice presentation in a enjoyable setting . . .
winery conveniently located just east of santa rosa on highway 12 . . .

Dean was very helpful explaining how wine tasting works and what to expect when touring wine country. The tasting menu options were excellent and the winery and vineyard itself were beautiful.

Wine Country Car and Driver, Lori, brought my boyfriend and I here as our first stop on our first wine tour ever! Incredible driver, winery, interaction and of course wine!

Lovely, nice, relaxed vineyard. We picked up a bottle of wine, brought a picnic, and enjoyed the views of vines + hills. This was an excellent time, laughing, talking about life, love, adventures.

Ronny is a real encyclopedia of wine knowledge. He was also kind enough to let us customize the tasting menu

When it comes to hospitality and customer service, Mark, our server, was the worst I have ever experienced. Very disappointing.

These wine and food pairings are of the highest level. Yet the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Tasters can get to know one another if they are feeling social. The servers are very well informed about the menu and wines. The menu with pre-selected, however if you have allergies or dietary restrictions, if you let them know in advance they are extremely accommodating. I've done this twice now and it is a wonderful way to celebrate.

We had the lunch food and wine pairing (reservations a must). Perfectly presented courses that paired beautifully with each wine. These courses were not mere bites like some others but also not major portions. Consider it small plates. Makes for a very nice lunch. The staff was lovely, engaging and very knowledgeable. Also liked that there was not hard sell to purchase anything. Although not needed for me, others required some modifications due to food restrictions, no problem.

Amazing lunch with wine pairings. A beautiful day for this. Amazing sommelier with lunch pairings. I think we are spending money on wines after.

Not all winery experiences are the same for a number of reasons. This winery was recommended to us by a patron at another winery so we decided to give it a try. It was the right size, meaning not so crowded that you're not getting personal attention and no so small that it feels awkward. Beautiful estate, friendly and knowledgeable pourers, and most important...great reds. I joined their club so I could receive wines not available to the general public. We took the walking tour through the vineyard which we would recommend. Great experience!

We enjoyed the wine tasting in the bar/shop. The hostess was very accommodating and knowledgable. The venue is a lovely place.

A group of 6 of us enjoyed the food/wine pairing. The food was superb, atmosphere/setting was beautiful and the service was very good. The only thing that was very disappointing is that they don't allow buying a bottle of wine afterwards on the property. They only allowed a glass(s) of wine to be purchased. This was very surprising as all the other wineries allowed bottle or glass purchases after a tasting. We felt like this was their way of making more money (per glass) versus allowing us to buy a bottle of wine to enjoy. Other than that we had a lovely time.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to St. Francis. We participated in the 5 course wine and food pairing with Tina. The pairing was delicious from start to finish our favorite was the sunchoke soup and braised pork belly. We would definitely do this again.

Was there for my daughter's birthday at the recommendation of my friend. It is an intimate setting with 16 people at a maximum. So it is very personal. As someone with food allergies, the staff was super attentive, and everything was just great! It is a fixed menu, though with many variations to match the wines.
The wines are paired very well. Not overly poured - i.e., we walked, not stumbled out! It is a beautiful setting with lots of lavender surrounding the yard. Great gift shop.Have also been there for movie night which is lots of fun.

This was my second time visiting St. Francis. We were former wine club members but had to give up our membership due to state shipping issues. On this trip we introduced some wine newbies to St. Francis and they immediately fell in love with the view, the wines, and the service. Go early, so you can spend some time with Rony Perez, who took us on a phenomenal tour of the tasting menu. He not only talked about the wines, but he provided an EXPERIENCE, teaching those of us who are enthusiasts, and the newbies, some new gems of knowledge. We visited 21 wineries, and this was tied for #1. There are so many wineries who have good wines, take some time to enjoy everything this winery offers. I’ve only had great experiences at St. Francis, and this is truly one of the best in Sonoma. So, it is no surprise that we are back in their club.

The scenery is beautiful! If you go for the wine you won’t be disappointed. I especially like their Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon

This was a gorgeous winery with stunning views. The service was amazing. The most beautiful winery we visited in Sonoma.

Highly recommend the the food pairing wine tasting. Our group of 4 had the pleasure of enjoying the experience on 9/22. We were seated in a dining room with about 20 or so other people. We were served 5 dishes starting with a watermelon & tomato salad, followed by a cavatelli pasta with sage sausage. We then had duck & a ny steak with a truffle demiglave. The grand finale was a chocolate panna cotta. So delicious. The wine hosts were nice & seemed very knowledgeable. The wine was also good. You will enjoy your time at this winery.

This is a winery that we have grown to love over the past few visits to Wine Country. While I had tasted St. Francis wines that are readily available in stores in the past, I was not prepared for the vast, delicious selections they would have at the winery.
Not only do the wines keep us coming back for more, but the tasting team takes excellent care of you while there. We have fallen in love with the knowledge and friendliness of the team. Stacey and Jalil, in particular, have been a joy to sip with and to share their knowledge of the wines. So much so that we joined the wine club!
My only caution is to arrive arrive early. They sometimes hold events at the end of the day that they close early for and unfortunately, they don't post anywhere in advance to warn you.
Happy Sipping!

St. Francis Winery and the tastings were a great way to begin a vacation for my four adult siblings from the Midwest, and for me, from Sonoma Co. We delighted in the outdoor setting with the vinyards within view from our seats on the patio.
Lorie

We went to the tasting lunch which was well worth the time and money. A great menu of local food s paired with some great wines. Its a small group of less than 20 in a private room. It compliments that estate and is great for foodie/wine aficionados.

We have accidentally stopped at this Winery and had the greatest experience at the area.
Karen guided us through a varied wine list, she was super nice, super informative. We loved her!

The food and wine pairing was an experience to taste, see, and smell! The food was on point (although the menu changes regularly), and I was even able to bring home a couple of wines with me! A great day to be had

We were looking forward to this "pilgrimage" in Sonoma but when asking upon arrival if it would be possible to sample (and pay for a sample of) a bottle of wine in which we were interested, the charming woman behind the bar responded that if the tasting they offered was too much for us (we were concerned about drinking and driving since I like to be extra cautious) "maybe you shouldn't be in wine country." Next.

One of the Best! Stopped in for some wine tasting and did the food pairing option. Jylene was a great wine hostess and led us through 5 wines, with food, plus several revisits. We liked every wine they had and walked away with several bottles. Classy winery compared to many others we visited. Highly recommend!

St Francis Winery and Vineyards was an accidental find. My wife and I were looking for a vineyard that was just a few miles south of Kenwood, California. We stopped at a light, and my was looking at the St Francis Winery, and their vineyards to our left side. The building was quite impressive, and the vineyards looked well maintained. My wife said, "Let's try St Francis." So, we did. The tasting room was quite nice, and the "Members Lounge" was beautiful. Our guide was great...and one of the most knowledgeable we met during our entire Sonoma County Quest. She was delightful and had a very intriguing Hungarian accent. Her knowledge of the St Francis wines was wonderful. My wife loves "bubbles" and unfortunately St Francis does not produce sparkling wines. They specialize in big bodied reds. They also make a delightful "port." St Francis was quite good, but we did not purchase anything while we were there...

Gracious employees, beautiful setting, enjoyed a self guided tour through the vineyards, not the most opulent, comfortable

My husband and I had the wine pairing luncheon at the winery last week. The food was delicious, service fine and the winery is beautiful. The reason I did not rate it a 5 is because it was just a pleasant experience, nothing special. We have been to may winery events and they have been much more fun. The sparkle was missing. Usually the tables are decorated with balloons, flowers, candies , souvenir glasses...things to make it feel festive and have a fun atmosphere. This is the first one we have been to where library wines were not brought our for tasting nor additional splashes of the luncheon wines offered.

We had an amazing time visiting St Francis for a wine tasting. Genny was our educator and did an outstanding job moving through the tasting. We started fairly late in the day and even as we reached time for the tasting room to close, we never felt pressure to finish faster. On top of that, all the wines we tried were fantastic. I really appreciated the opportunities Genny gave us to try same year wines grown in different areas to appreciate the impacts of soil and altitude on the final product. All of this while be super accommodating to us with our infant.. We had a phenomenal time and would highly recommend checking out St Francis if you are in the area.

This winery is AMAZING! We started with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and a stroll through the vineyard. It is a self guided mile and a half journey that provides you with so much information about how this vineyard is run sustainably. We were impressed with how transparent they are about letting you walk their property.
After that we enjoyed the Estate Pairings experience. Our wine educator for this delightful time was Kevin. He was the best - answering our questions while at the same time allowing us to savor the wine and food at our own pace. The executive chef at St. Francis is very gifted - this four course pairings experience was incredible! Not only did we enjoy every sip and bite, but you’re seated with a stunning view as well! We cannot wait to return to St. Francis Winery!

This was our first stop on a bachelorette party tour of some vineyards, and I have to say, it was the best one! The wine was fantastic and our server, Clare, was absolutely the best! She took the time to explain to us the different types of wine, how to properly taste and assess the wine, and gave us tips/pointers on what to ask when we got to our other stops. She was also quite accommodating in our wine purchases and, overall, was very informative and helpful. We also wandered the grounds outside a bit; it was a gorgeous morning and the view of the mountains and vineyards from their patio is breathtaking. I would recommend making this a stop on your next wine tour extravaganza!

We had the pleasure of having lunch at St. Francis Winery participating in a Food & Wine Pairing. The experience was outstanding. Location is elegant and Staff were top notch. The 4 course meal was truly one of the finest I have had. The wines that were selected perfectly complimented the great food. The Restaurant is advertised to be the #! Restaurant in America - based on our experience is certainly qualifies. Highly recommend - need reservations far in advance.

Was recommended by friends to do this. All I can say is WOW! Very creative food prep and matched incredibly well with their wine. Would definitely do this again and will recommend to others.

The chef’s menu changes one item out of every two weeks, so you’re always in for a good time with seasonally paired dishes that match the wine exquisitely, portions are hardy and the experiences unforgettable! PS it’s your birthday you get an extra discount on the wine purchased! They do weddings too! Grounds are gorgeous. Wine is reasonably priced. Older clientele.

We always enjoy the wine & food pairing at St Francis and this visit was no different. Unfortunately, the start was a bit disappointing.
When we arrived the host poured us a glass of Rose’. We noticed it was a bit off, missing a middle note or was “corked”; terms to indicate a musty smell which sometimes happens in the bottling process. When we brought it to the host’s attention, he discounted our concern. He stated he tasted the bottle when opened & thought it was fine.
He missed the opportunity to elevate his service by offering us a new glass from a new bottle.
Once seated, the rest of our visit was wonderful; especially the duck confit with the 2016 Syrah & the black truffle cheese fondue with the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon. Of course we’ll go back; we’re wine club members. I only wish I had the opportunity to discretely mention our welcome to Renee’ before we left.

The food and wine were fabulous! We sooooooooooo enjoyed our visit. We can not wait to go back. While we were not looking to join another wine club, we did

I have come to really love St Francis Winery. The vineyards, the views, the organic gardens, and the lavender provides a breathtaking walk and relaxing place to just breath. Every season seems to bring another spectacular view. When guests come to visit, the first place I take them is to St Francis. After visiting other places, they usually request to come back and buy some wine at the end of their visit. It makes a wonderful impression and memory. Even though I do not drink, I love listening to the stories about the various wines and vintages as well as exploring their gift shop. While I frequently travel abroad, the beauty at St Francis is hard to beat, and I am grateful to call it call home.

We went to a wine pairing (the first day open after the fires in the area) at the winery on the suggestion of a friend who lives in the area. The group size was great, the food with the wine was incredibly good, and the wine was so good we bought several bottles to ship home to Maine. I highly recommend a visit! The employees were gracious and accommodating.

My husband and I visited St. Francis Winery & Vineyards. I paid for the tasting, and was able to choose 5 delicious wines. I chose the Rose, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet, Zinfandel. My favorites were the Zinfandel, and Chardonnay. If I didn’t only have a carry on suitcase, I would have purchased a few bottles to bring home!
Karen was our tasting guide, and she was beyond helpful, accommodating, and an overall lovely person to talk to. My husband can’t drink and she offered him an apple juice and didn’t seem bothered at all that he was taking space up in the busy very tasting room. That kind of hospitality meant a lot to me! I definitely recommend this vineyard!

Very fun time. They have movies only in July. There's a warm up act then the movie. They serve wine and have a food truck, but you can bring in your own food not alcohol. They do not start it until dark so it's a long night.

Great views, friendly service, fun for families, large wine selection. Best wines by far are the zins and whites, which is no surprise given the location of their vineyards. They have a few cab dominated blends that are above average. Great place, will go again.
Deducting one star because they get very busy, only have 3 pourers and everyone congregates in one spot: the 'wine experience' was lacking. Felt a bit like a college bar inside.

Thoughtfully organized wine and food pairing for 16 seated guests, led by two wine educators. Although casual, it felt like a private seminar, marketing focused, rather than a special occasion.

We went on a tour of this lovely winery for my friend's 50th birthday. It was nice to take a tour of the vineyards and the have a private winetasting with our group. We sampled many of the delicious wines from this special winery. Our host started out a little slow in the beginning, but things improved nicely after we sampled some of the fine wines. The grounds are very beautiful and we had a very lovely day. My friend had a very memorable 50th birthday due to St Francis Winery. The wine tasting room was very nice, but if you have time, please take the tour of the lovely vineyards. There was no hard sell to buy wine or sign up for wine membership. Unique experience.

Wen to St Francis winery for the five course food and wine pairing lunch. Very fun time with communal seating and the two women who ran the function did a great job.
The food was excellent and included an amazing waygu steak entree paired with a great Cab.
I would highly recommend this experience and to take in the lovely grounds of the winery.

I only have a small sample size of 6 Sonoma wineries, but this was one of the top two that I went to. The wine and food pairing is a must, and is totally worth it at $70 a person. I also thought their wines were great tasting as well, and they had a nice variety. The winery itself is very beautiful, and the courtyard is a great place to sip some wine on a nice day.

Make a reservation for the food (outrageously delicious) and wine pairing. Great food, great fun, great view and unsurpassed views.

We have been many times for wine tasting, and recently went to their "Starts under the Stars"movie night. It featured a fabulous concert by "Band Camp", and 80's tribute band, followed by The Wedding Singer. We were allowed to bring our own food, and they also had a food truck available. The wine, music and movie was a perfect evening in wine country. I would highly recommend it, but arrive early for a good spot as it fills up quickly.

Friendly and so easygoing. Great wines including ports. The chef there is one of the best in North America so try to score one of the very few seats available to be able to eat there. Karen in the tasting room is an absolute jewel!
There are many good wineries in the Sonoma Valley but this one is special.

Great Food paired with excellent Wine. Isn't that what visiting the Wine Country is all about? The St. Francis Wine Pairing should be on the top of your list for your next visit. You will not be disappointed!

Wonderful tasting and wine host. Honored the wine passport Beautiful grounds and views. Very nice Cabernet and Zinfandels. We bought 4 bottles and got reasonable shipping pricing and great service.

Attended an afternoon food and wine pairing. Every course was excellent and the portions were just right. The hosts were very knowledgeable and it was a lot of fun. The winery itself is beautiful. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a different experience than your standard wine tasting that you get at most wineries. The only negative was that they seemed to rush towards the end because there was another food pairing right after us.

Other reviewers commented on the gorgeous views (which is true) but we really like the friendly staff, excellent wines and fun events they create for the Wine Club members during the year. (We have met members who come from all over the US.) Also excellent is the paired lunch, which is rated #1 on Open Table. There are many wineries to choose from in the area, but we keep coming back to St. Francis, with visitors.

I love the beautiful grounds at this winery and the spinners the garden that always seem to catch the breeze.
I particularly like the Old Vine Zinfendels, like "Tres Amigos". Please check out the highly rated wine pairing. Each course is prepared with a special vintage in mind. You meet any wonderful people during the presentation. Looking forward to returning soon.

St Francis is one of my all time favorite wines and the winery didn't disappoint. We sat out side and did a wine and cheese paring tasting. Wonderful! Highly recommend!

St Francis is one of our favorite patron saints. We just had to visit. The views were over the top. the old monastery proved to be a perfect place for a winery. Christina was a very good host. The wines, especially the reds, were very good.

This was hands down the best "lunch" we had during our entire trip. The dishes were well prepared and together with the wine pairings made for a perfect.meal. It was a lively gathering and the staff was very good at explaining the various pairings. A must do in Sonoma Valley!!

To those who visit the winery will find, along with world class wines... many educational and enjoyable events that they offer to help the individual better understand and appreciate their wines........

The food and wine pairing is amazing! Great time. If you get lucky and get a great group it is even more fun. Food is excellent and it is paired with the wine so the flavors burst in your mouth. Not a fan of Whites but throughly enjoyed them with the tasty food they were paired with! A must if you are in Sonoma!

Great resting and vista location while enjoying balanced white and deep red wines.
Staff especially knowledgeable and friendly.

We went as a group of 5 girls on our visit to Sonoma. The winery itself was beautiful. They greeted us with a taste of their Sav Blanc which was delicious. We were taken to the dining room promptly at the time of our seating. The tables were semi circle so everyone could see each other as well as the hostesses. The food was phenomenal! Every course was well thought out and paired perfectly with their wines. The chef greeted us at the end of the meal and seemed to value our feedback. I would highly recommend doing the food and wine pairing if you get the opportunity. Just make sure to make a reservation, especially if you are visiting with a large group.

Treated my husband and two adult kids to the wine and food pairing. Everything was really wonderful. The food and wine pairings were terrific and well thought out. The staff gave just the right amount of detail. I especially loved the cucumber soup. It didn't appeal to me when reading the description but it was my favorite course! This was a great experience.

The food and wine pairing was spectacular and a great value, considering the many courses, the fabulous venue, and the excellent wine pairings. The service was also remarkable. The room holds only about 16 diners, all seated at essentially a large round table. The ambience was quiet. Loved the retro American standards playing in the background.

Weren't planning to do a tasting here until a local couple we met at another winery said it was one of their favorites. Happened to score a coupon for a free tasting too, so off we went. No problem that we didn't have reservations. We were treated warmly and found our tastings to be very generous. The atmosphere was elegant without trying too hard; exactly what we love about Sonoma County. Once the lady figured out we were foodies, she really personalized our tasting. Great wines; especially liked the chardonnay and Cabs. Unfortunately we didn't have time to do a food/wine pairing, which we've heard is great. Something to look forward to, as I know we will be back.

The staff and tastings were excellent. My mom and I visited as part of Sonoma Wine Tours and truly enjoyed our experience.

If you are lucky enough to book the food and wine pairing offered at St. Francis, you will experience a great chef at work. We booked this experience and were more than surprised how good this would be.
A beautiful alfresco patio located just off the vineyards is spectacular! All Covid protocols were followed here and we felt very safe dining here.
Our hosts and service team, Renee and Andrea, were both professional and charming.
The wines are nice, but the cuisine served with them, was perfect. Every dish was served piping hot and beautifully presented.
This tasting costs $85.00 per person, but should cost more considering what you are served.
The dishes included seared Diver Scallop, King Salmon, Eggplant Cannelloni, Lamb Loin and Chocolate Panna Cotta.
We throughly enjoyed this experience and hope you will too!

This winery is open to the public, and you can walk inside the vineyards on a FREE self guided tour. Get close up and see Chardonnay , Syrah grapes and many other varieties. Excellent walking tour thru the vines. Wine tasting is optional.

We got married at St Francis and it was wonderful. The setting is so beautiful and the wine was delicious. We toured so many wineries before choosing this one and we were so happy with our choices. Many of our guests told us they’d never been to a more beautiful wedding. We only wish we could have had more time.

The wines are wonderful, especially if you like reds. As a wine member, you can bring up to 5 guests and it's so much fun to share the wealth of this place. The grounds are small but lovely. They do have events as well.

My husband and I absolutely love St. Francis Winery. We’ve never had a bad experience here - the wines are superb, the grounds are beautiful, and the interaction with staff has always been wonderful. We were impressed after our first visit, but the wine & food pairing during our second visit was so enjoyable we knew we wanted to be members here and haven’t once regretted it since! Highly recommend this stop on any wine country visit.

We skipped the tasting but bought a bottle of delightful light 2020 Chardonnay Martinelli Vineyard, Russian River Valley. One very helpful hostess offered us to try the two wines to choose from and our choice was unequivocal: the Chardonnay from Martinelli. She also recommended us a fun restaurant nearby for our very late lunch (Tips Roadside Restaurant).
The vineyards on the terraces and the winery property is exceptionally beautiful and meticulously taken care of. The interior is lovely as well as the terrace with the tasting seating area.
It is not easy to find such a classy and elegant winery as St.Francis in Sonoma Valley. Highly recommend!

Dean was our server. I sampled 5 wines for $15 and each sample size was very generous. If you buy 2 bottles of wine, you don’t have to pay for the tasting. Beautiful winery and a fun experience.

St Francis winery offers a nicely appointed tasting room and some very good wines. A very nice picnic area is available for warm weather enjoyment.

Booked the mid-afternoon wine pairing with a five course “linner” Delicious, informative and fabulous are the only words that come to mind. The hosts provided background on both the wine and food preparation before each course. At the end the chef came out and explained the thought behind each course. Definitely a must visit if you're in the Santa Rosa area.

One could spend weeks methodically visiting wineries in Napa and Sonoma and still overlook some jewels. This winery is unique in that it presents as a smaller, more artisanal winery that actual has considerable capacity. That is a tribute to the people you meet during your visit. I was last here 15 years ago, and while notable expansion has occurred, the sense of humility about their craft remains. The range of Sonoma wines that are widely available are very solid, high value examples of their type. The reserve wines are stunning, and compelling examples that belong at the top tier of the best Sonoma has to offer. Finally, the staff ultimately determine the quality of time spent at a winery visit, and you would be hard pressed to find a more enthusiastic and knowledgeable group. I will return.

We were in Napa and Sonoma for 7 days and we toured over 2-dozen wineries. This winery, hands down was a group favorite! The options of wine choices and the gift shop was fantastic. Sharon was great, very accommodating and spent a lot of time with us. It is clear she loves what she does and we all benefited from her knowledge and expertise in service.

The property is lovely. Wonderful staff. The tasting gives you an opportunity to try several of their outstanding wines. But consider doing the wine and food pairing experience. They don't do it every day, and it is mid-day. Well worth. Absolutely fabulous food - five small plates paired with five different wines. Really brings out the best qualities in the wine. Educational, delicious, and fun!

We went with friends to their food and wine pairing lunch. Only 16 people at a time with two people explaining the wines and the food. I think there were about 5 courses (small plates) and each one was outstanding. The chef actually creates the food to go with the wine!
We were very full when finished and highly recommend for a special treat. It is pricey...$75 per person I believe. The view of the vineyards from the room is beautiful and in the fall the vines and trees outside were all turning colors.
We booked over 6 weeks ahead..they fill up quickly.

This was our first visit to a Sonoma winery having visited Napa in the past. Sonoma is beautiful and we liked the scenery more than Napa. As for St. Francis, it too was absolutely beautiful with incredible views of their vineyards with mountains in the background. We did a wine tasting that included 5 wines of our choosing. The server was very generous in the portions and even allowed us a sixth taste. The wines were very good and we couldn't resist taking a few bottles home with us. We found out that buying two or more bottles of wine meant they waived the tasting fee. All in all, this was a great visit and the most beautiful winery that we visited past or present. We would definitely return to Sonoma and St. Francis Winery and Vineyards.

One of the best food pairing experiences in my life. Every single detail (and taste!) were just amazing. Local, fresh ingredients perfectly paired with good wine. Would do it again and again!

We had our tasting with Robert and time just flew by. He was so charming and the wines he poured were great. I fell in love with their port. But their Chardonnays are fantastic. Even if I didn’t do any reds this time, but I had same before and were amazed. Their property is beautiful and we really enjoyed our time here. Highly recommended.

Hi is is a must see & experience! We felt so welcome & were given VIP treatment from Karen. She let us try several wines & even showed us right away to open & aerate wine. Place was tastefully decorated for Christmas & had tons of neat stuff in gift shop.

Our family group absolutely loved the food pairing. Wines & food were all amazing…5 courses of pure heaven. Beautiful vineyard and friendly staff. Make sure to book your food pairing on Open Table well in advance. Worth every penny!

A must-visit stop on the winery tour, even if it is a little "off the beaten path". It is worth every mile. St-Francis has always been a fave wine, so when we saw that it was top-rated with Open Table, we just knew that we were in for a memorable time.
A warm welcome, a glass of cool white wine while we waited (topped off because we got there early :) ) and at the appropriate time, were ushered into a beautiful wine-tasting room with windows on 3 sides, showing off the beautiful countryside, laden with vineyards. The two hostesses started by asking the 12 of us to share where we were from. We found that this broke the ice and from that point on, friendly conversation was had by all.
As the chef himself told us AFTER the tasting, the food is chosen to enhance the wine selection and not the opposite. The choices were simply sublime, the wine was truly showcased.
A great wine and food pairing, the best we have ever had to date.
Bravo St-Francis!

Spent a week in Napa/Sonoma, the St. Francis wine pairing was very nice. It compared to several we have been too.It was a bit more expensive.
You will not be disappointed.
Chef was fantastic.

We were 3 couples visiting St. Francis from San Ramon during the Memorial Day weekend. We were seated on the back patio with great views of the hills and vineyards. Our server, Nina, was an absolute gem with a great and fun personality. We tasted the Member’s flight and really enjoyed the Zins. All wines were very good and we walked out with 1.5 cases.

The food and wine pairing is not to be missed. The St Francis wine portfolio is versatile enough to provide appropriate pairing with each course. Service is seamless and unobtrusive. With only 16 seats and stunning mountain vistas the atmosphere is relaxed and conducive to providing an outstanding culinary experience. At $89 a seat this could be wine country s best value.

This is a wonderful way to celebrate a special occasion or make your weekend memorable. New chef is from The Fig in Glen Ellen which we've always enjoyed. A lovely setting in addition to the well chosen wine and food. You really feel welcome to the wine country in Sonoma Valley.

Pretty yard. Good wines. Opens at 10. Has good wine and food pairing. Vineyard tour not available and construction going on.

We visited a total of 7 wineries in Napa and Sonoma and St Francis was my favorite.
The vineyard and the buildings are picturesque.
Alan was a great host, extremely knowledgeable with a dry sense of humor.
The red wines are full bodied with distinct palates. Recommend the petite syrah and the Zinfandel.

The tasting room is well done and the people that work there are so friendly, I was impressed. But, Sonoma is like that, much friendlier than some other well known wine regions. Wine quality is very good and priced decently.

First time to St. Francis. We went because there was free music on their lawn, in this case, vintage blues and rock. Taylor, our hospitality hostess, though VERY busy still did a great job serving our tastings and explaining the wines. $15 for 5 tastings but good pours. If you have a VISA Signature Card, tastings are 2 for 1. We bought a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and both tastings were waived. Beautiful grounds surrounded by lavender and of course, the vineyards. Definitely would go again!

We read the reviews and decided to give St Francis a try. Our reservation was for 1PM, Friday for the five-course food and wine pairing. Upon arrival and check in (easy, breezy) we were given a glass of Chardonnay to begin our experience. After a brief wait, we were shown to a tasting room with a fabulous view of the vineyards and mountains. Our knowledgeable and charming hostesses were Andrea and Renee. Our tasting began with a 2016 Chardonney paired with medallions of chicken, fettucine, parmesian reggiano cream and corn & snap peas.Second course, was a 2104 Merlot paired with California white sea bass and cabbage, barley and mushrooms. The third course began with a 2014 Zinfandel paired with Candied bacon (OMG!!!!) and turnip gratin and charred brocolini. Our fourth course began with a 2014 Cabernet Franc which was paired with a grilled Dixon lamb chop and cheddar cauliflower puree--perfection! Finally, our dessert course began with a 2015 port paired with Meyer lemon-buttermilk pound cake and pecan-toffee brittle covered vanilla ice cream. The entire meal was fabulous!! Executive Chef Trevor Eliason came out after our meal to greet us and introduce himself and the reasons for the pairings. The experience could not have been improved. Loved every sip, bite and sip!

The wine staff are very friendly. Purchase two bottles of wine and the tasting is no charge. You may purchase a bottle of wine or a glass and enjoy it outside in the beautiful terrace area. Of all the local Santa Rosa wineries, this is the best. Wines are fantastic. The winery also has many events so check out their website.

Such a beautiful winery located on beautiful grounds. The entrance and mission feeling makes you feel you are going back in time. We tasted with another couple and our server was knowledgeable and entertaining. He help us understand the complexities that make up wine. Really wished we could have done the pairings!

Beautiful winery with tasty wine! We went for a Christmas party. The food was amazing and the different wines they let us taste was fantastic. Good vides and wonderful customer service. A definite must see and do in Sonoma County.

We went twice this week! Our wine educator was Maria and was so fun, friendly, and a great educator. She recommended the food and wine pairing, which is why we went twice this week. Excellent food, beautiful, beautiful vineyard and the only one we joined this week.

This is the best food and wine paring that I have attended EVER! The grounds are beautiful, the staff is friendly and very knowledgable, and the food and wine is perfectly paired, and fabulous! Kudos to Chef Bryan and the staff for a perfect afternoon! Make sure to book well in advance (3-4 weeks) during the busy season.

The winery was wonderful. Our pourer was deiightful and very knowledgeable in the vineyard. The entire experience was outstanding.

We spent a wonderful afternoon wine tasting here with Rony who educated us on the wines. This is a lovely spot where you can walk in the vineyards and simply enjoy the incredible scenery and savour the wine. Rony is an incredible host!

The view and grounds are lovely. The wines were average. But the problem was that our tasting room server kept saying, OVER AND OVER, that we should join their wine club!!! She said it at least 8 times and then gave us an attitude when we politely said we were not going to join. I get asking once or maybe even twice but OVER AND OVER!!! Contrast that to the winery we visited after St. Francis where the server never mentioned the club. They didn’t need to!!!!
We were so put off by the person at St. Francis that we cancelled a planned visit with friends to go there the next month. I will never return!

I really wanted to do the wine and food pairing but our schedule was too tight to commit to a reservation. Instead we did the cheese and wine tasting out on the patio which does not require an appointment. It was fantastic!
The view from the patio is lovely. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable. Great way to spend an hour while in wine country.

Went there for the food and wine pairings, and we were blown away. Everything was fabulous. Creative, gourmet food alongside some delicious wines. So special to have an experience like that in such a beautiful setting. The grounds are immaculate, and we enjoyed looking out on the vineyards and hills as we ate and drank.

We came here for a dinner and wine pairing and this part was excellent BUT as wine club members we showed up early so we could do a tasting beforehand. We got Karen who told us we can't taste before the dinner as this would mess with the pairings. We stressed that we really wanted to try the wines as we didn't have a lot of time in Napa and will not be able to return for sometime. She resisted and resisted and finally said oh fine and gave us one taste of a cab. Then we asked if we could try another one that interested us. She said it's not open. The guy beside her (William I think) said no I just opened one. So now she is distracted and moves two couples down leaving us with nothing... She helps the other couple and returns to us about 7 mins later then decants the wine we were wanting to taste, pours herself a taste, samples it and says hmmmm not sure if you will like this one. I thought we were being punked. Karen was awful. From start to finish. She then said we should come back after dinner for a tasting. We said well the tasting area will be closed after 5pm so this won't work. She shrugged, sipped the wine again, and I'm not kidding!!! And ponders if she should pour some for us. Finally I slammed my glass down in front and said I would like to try some PLEASE. She pours us each a taste and walked away. I would say this was some of the worst customer service along with the fact we are club members ever. The last time we came for a tasting we had mediocre service but this time took the cake.

We're not big wine aficionados but really enjoyed the scenery and the atmosphere at this winery. Very friendly people and great location. If you are in the neighborhood, give it a look.

There space for tastings is the bar they have. We stopped about 3:30 on a Saturday and it was very busy. We got lucky and a couple was just leaving so we nabbed a spot. The wine was good and the host very informative and helpful. I am not a red wine drinker so I tried two of their whites and he was nice and did not charge me for my tasting.

Visited the winery when across from Scotland visiting friends who were members and had the tasting lunch. The venue was awesome and the staff exceptionally friendly and attentive. Have experienced taster menus from restaurants with paired wine but never wine tasting from a winery paired with food which was an interesting new slant for me. The wine and food were excellent and thoroughly enjoyed by all so surprisingly enough I’d recommend this experience to all…

Oh my goodness where do I begin? So being a wine club member has its benefits for sure. So, last Friday I was wine tasting with dear friends and family at St Francis winery and included in the tastings were the complimentary tent of wine and food pairings for members only. What an irony, because it felt so magical to be apart of such a wine club member community. As if that wasn't enough for my birthday, our friends bought us wine and wine pairing appointments for this past Thursday. Ive rubbed shoulders with the CEO of this place, but got to meet up with the Executive chef, Trevor Eliason of St. Francis winery. Hes only been there for four months, but his credentials are impeccably assured. Like a foodie assassin as you can see below, the wines and food were a whirlwind of flavors attracting the senses like a magnetic field trap. Sucking you in like a foodie suspect at large on the wino, and foodie's most wanted FBI list. This was the most delectable and delicious array of natural ingredients and flavors this direction of the golden gate! Must reserve ahead for wine club member pairings. By appointment only. No payments at the door. 5 pairiings, 5 courses. No room for any more dinner afterwards. Count on it! Not kid friendly. Adults only affair. Casual to nice dress attire. Worth every moment. Andrea and her coworker were fabulous hosts! Bar none the best of Sonoma County!

The grounds are gorgeous, the service exceptional and the wine is simply lovely. Highly recommend St Francis to be on everyone's list for wine tasting when visiting the area!

Enjoyed lunch at St. Francis several years ago and had to return to buy some more of their amazing wines. Unfortunately didn't get to enjoy the fantastic food today -- booked through August! -- but can't recommend this place highly enough.

This was just an amazing experience. Beautifully plated tastefully prepared small plates paired with excellent wines. Lovely setting, knowledgeable hostess with lots of information about both wines and food, and an interesting group of people to share the experience with. To quote my brother in law, "I'd give it more than 5 stars if possible." Highly recommend!

Visiting St. Francis Winery is not just about their delicious wines or the exciting evenings of food pairing; it is their heart for the community and things that matter! You must attend their "Blessing of the Animals" event and bring your pets! St. Francis is the patron saint of all animals. We brought our two mini horses to the blessing. The event was unforgettable. Throughout the summer, St. Francis has outdoor movie nights. The night sky in the Valley of the Moon is superb! There is a spirit at all St. Francis events that ensures you will have an unforgettable experience and may meet a few new friends from anywhere in the world, St. Francis attracts the most interesting visitors.

In California wine country there are countless places to sample wines. But how do you know how that wine pairs with food?
St. Francis Winery takes that question to the ultimate degree - by hosting wine-paired luncheons. Chefs design courses (there are 5) around specific St. Francis wines. Your hosts explain the derivation of each wine and what the paired food does to draw out the characteristics of the wine.
Terrific food, superb service - in a small group atmosphere in a private room.
This is not a cheap wine & cheese sampler - but if you love wine and good food, this is well worth the price (and it's educational too).

What an outstanding way to spend an afternoon! We did the food pairing/wine tasting. Although we visit Santa Rosa every other year or so to see family, this was our first tasting. Gorgeous scenery, DELICIOUS well planned beautiful food to go along with each wine. Every course was perfect right down to the chocolate cake ending! The chef seemed to love what he does as he came out to chat when we were finished. The information was friendly and informative, the value of the food & wine was good and we loved supporting this local winery! We aim to absolutely return! THANK YOU St Francis!

This was by far our favorite winery experience during our visit to Sonoma County. We were fortunate enough to do the 90 minute food & wine pairing, and it was phenomenal. Every course was perfectly paired, and ALL of the food and the wine was exquisite. We especially loved the opportunity to hear from the executive chef following the meal. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough!!!

Spectacular property & wines! Thank You Karen Smith for enhancing our tasting experience....Most Excellent☆♡ See you again soon!

We did a food and wine tasting session and really enjoyed every dish and wine. Expertly presented by Renee. The winery is undergoing expansion in a good and tasteful way, but that didn’t diminish the experience. Lovely company, be sure and make a reservation.

I won't lie,we are patrons here. We love the atmosphere and the people. We only drink white wine which we love here. They have a great amount of reds which everyone raves about. One of my favorites.

If your desire is to have a great experience in wine country then this is the place for you. The food and wine pairing is outstanding and it is also one of the best values you will find anywhere. The property is very nice and the staff is well trained and friendly and they obviously enjoy what they do. A wonderful experience!

We had the 3 – 5 pm wine pairing with our friends recently. Chef Bryan knows how to prepare gourmet food and pair it with the right wine to enhance and heighten the gastronomical experience. He combines food items that typically are not mixed together to bring a symphony of flavors and textures to our palates. The menu is prefixed, but no worries – we have been here five times with different menus and have never been disappointed only more amazed at his repertoire of mixing.
We enjoy bringing family and friends to this amazing place. It is truly an educational experience because the server will discuss in nice detail the produce chosen, sauces prepared and how each wine compliments each dish. Chef Bryan usually makes an appearance and is open to questions from the patrons. This place is located at the foot of the Mayacama Mountains – gorgeous, not pretentious. I recommend reservations weeks in advance (sometimes you can get lucky and get in on a day’s notice).

The wines are pretty good. The tasting room is pretty good. Go for the view!! Spectacular especially during harvest season and late fall.
Gorgeous weddding venue as well.

We thoroughly enjoyed the wines we tasted at St. Francis - especially the Zinfandels. We highly recommend buying a glass or bottle and drinking it out on the patio, which has a great view of the vineyards and surrounding mountains.

A very beautiful winery with a nice patio over looking the mountains. The service was a little slow to start but it finished with a bang so no complaints.

What an amazing place! Gorgeous views, great wine, friendly and non-pretentious people, inviting patios, and beautiful grounds.
April is truly an amazing time to visit Sonoma valley. Lots of flowers in bloom including gorgeous lavender plants. The views from the back patios are gorgeous and just invite you to kick back in a comfy Adirondack chair to take it all in. The staff here are wonderful, warm, and welcoming. Sales are not pushed at all.
If you’re doing a tasting, I recommend the food pairing for some extra bites of terrific food. Note these are not meals but are small appetizers or tapas. Even if you’re not drinking, it’s a beautiful place to visit.
Will miss this place. One of the best wineries in Sonoma.

Beautiful view. Nice size tasting room and gift shop. Great wines. We could have sat on the back porch all day enjoying the experience.

My husband and I had a fun afternoon at St. Francis Winery when we were there in May of 2019. The people were very friendly and our hostess, Karen was very informative and a genuinely nice person. She expertly guided us through our tastings. The wines are spectacular! It was hard to choose a favorite. We also talked to another employee whose son lived in the same area that we do and is in the same profession as my husband, plus his brother used to work at a place that I did many, many, many years ago. Love those small world interactions! If we ever get out there again, we will definitely stop in at St. Francis and maybe try their food and wine pairings which are highly rated.

The grounds of St. Francis Winery are gorgeous and worth a visit. We did the wine pairing lunch as we wanted to have a special dining experience while we were in wine country. The meal consisted of 5 courses each paired with a different wine. Everything was attractively presented and tasty. While not huge portions, it was just enough to leave us full at the end. The problem was the wine. Considering that the emphasis of the meal was meant to be on the wine, the pourings were very small - not even enough to get you through a course!
While I felt the meal was worth the value for the food, it certainly not was not for the wine. St. Francis Winery needs to be more generous in their pours or at least offer a second tasting of the wines during the meal.

In the past we had excellent attention when in the reserved room with food pairing. So we paid this time to get a better selection of wines. Instead we were brought to the opposite corner of the tasting room, a small "table", and poured about 1/2 of ounce in our glasses. $20 a pop.
Then a woman at the other counter who thought she was bar-hoping instead of wine tasting came over. Our server then fills her glass halfway up-- judging by the way she was walking would have put her beyond the limit.
I was just trying to select a special wine for dinner and company that night. Instead we felt unappreciated and ripped off. They won't know or care, but personally I will boycott and discourage anyone from going to their winery.
We've lived in Sonoma county for over 30 years, and have visited a couple hundred wineries. There are a lot more welcoming people at other places 5 minutes Dow the road from here.

We have been wine lovers of St. Francis for many years as club members. We have not been to the winery for many years now.
The wine and cheese pairing with our host Amanda was excellent.
You will love the place, their personnel, and their wines, go treat yourself you will not be disappointed.

The wines are very good, but you must try the pairing. It was 5 courses with 5 wines. The chef did a wonderful job not only on the food preparation, but also with the wine selection. Our first course was Pan Seared Cobia. Second course was a Chicory-Mushroom Salad with lardons. Third course was Duck Rillettes. Fourth course was Seared Flat Iron Steak (which had been cooked in a sous vide first). Fifth course was Bittersweet Chocolate Crémeux. Everything was fantastic. Keep an eye out on Open Table for discounts.

One pf the best culinary experiences ever was the wine and food pairing at St. Francis Winery. This Sonoma County winery by far has some of the most superior wines on the planet. Their executive chef prepares the most delectable 5 course tasting that is just over the top delicious. They do a great job at pairing 5 different varietals with 5 delicious mini courses. The food isn't designed to fill you up, but is given in just the right proportion to enjoy the awesome pairing combo. The price is $68 per person and well worth it and the event lasts over a hour and a half. They offer up additional discounts if you want to purchase wine afterwards.

This was the second vineyard my husband and I visited on our first time trip to wine country. St Francis is in a beautiful setting with a great selection of wines. We did the 3pm food and wine pairing and it was one of the most memorable experiences we've had. The dining room was gorgeous, bright and comfortable. The hosts we're extremely professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The food was just soooo delicious.....I cannot think of one negative. The wines with each course were perfectly matched. It's definitely a worthwhile experience!

What was the best restaurant in the U.S. in 2015, based on more than 5 million user ratings spanning 11 years? Surprise! It was a winery – St. Francis Winery – and, although 2015 was the only year OpenTable ranked a “top 10” list, St. Francis’ Wine and Food Pairing has remained on the top 100 lists in 2016 and 2017. You can view the current 5-course pairing menu for this tasting on their website. St. Francis also offers a free, self-guided vineyard tour which is very enjoyable.

A bit crowded for our taste but then again it was a beautiful sat. We had 3 or 4 people pouring us wine and some were more knowledgeable them others or more engaging. The tables outside were wonderful along with the views.

This was our first stop in Sonoma, and it did not disappoint! We tasted their red wines. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about wine and found a few new favorites. I would absolutely recommend this place. Next time we'll have to try the food! The view from the tasting was beautiful.

Read a ton of favorable reviews about the lunch and wine pairing, but wasn't able to work out the timing so decided to just stop for a wine tasting. The winery, tasting room, and surrounding vineyards are absolutely gorgeous. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines being served. Unfortunately, the wines were just not good. There was just something off about every wine poured (both reds and whites). Maybe just not our cup of tea. Certainly a pleasant enough stop, but disappointing for our first stop in wine country.

Don't debate going here for the food and wine pairing, just do it! Gorgeous location, beautiful views, amazing wines, and the food exceptional! Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful tasting room with fireplace, great food and wine, what more does one need?

We did a wine tasting with Christina this morning and she was so knowledgeable and fantastic. We ended up joining the wine club. We loved it here and hope we can come back to visit. We highly recommend this winery.

This was the first winery we stopped at during our trip to wine country. We already had planned to go there and the whole ambiance is terrific. Nick waited on us at the wine tasting bar and the restaurant and he is extremely knowledgable and helpful. Ask for him if you go in. We spent most of the afternoon here relaxing and enjoying the gorgeous fields.
This is probably the best winery around. Good wine, amazing location, great service. We just love it the outsides. A must place while in Sonoma.
