Thanksgiving weekend, and only one lift open, apart from bunny slopes. Over 40 minutes just to buy tickets. So many skiers that we managed only two runs in first two hours. Then, the Iift line eased a bit, and we managed three runs in following two hours. For that much money ($113 per person) they have to do better.
And, that huge climb from the lodge to the lift = bad resort design.
Never again.

So poorly managed. Some of the lift crew (not all of them) we rude and lazy. Advertised lift opening was 8.30am to 9am. We stood at the entry to the Adventure Triple for 20 minutes while the crew stood around laughing and joking in Spanish, checking their watches. We asked if it was opening per advertised times and they rudely stated, "It will open at 9am". They made sure it was not a second beforehand. This was the same each day. Other crew we saw were nice and friendly, but management should have addressed the bad eggs. The iceskating rink was broken the whole time we were there, so was the Easy Over Gondola. The pancake place was closed the whole time. Late starts, early finishes, this place is worth a miss.

My family and I came here right after Stowe had a season record high snowfall. Conditions were awesome! Views from the Gondola and Four Runner Quad were excellent on a sunny day. Because we avoided weekends, we also avoided any terrible lines. Maybe the Gondola twice took us about 10minutes to get on. But the lift operators, scanners were very nice. One day, most lifts were closed due to wind. I asked one lady at the ticket counter and she was not helpful, but other employees offered as much info as they could. The one day I had to get a code for free parking (because we had 4 people in the car), the parking attendant stayed with me to make sure I entered everything in correctly. Even later when I had to stop by guest service for a question, she went above and beyond to help me. That is real nice service!
The only complaints about the mountain was that there were a lot of flat areas. For a snowboarder (and the little kids on skis) it was a bit frustrating. I saw a lot of people getting stuck going to Sunrise lift from any directions. And from Sunrise or Four Runner Quad to the Gondola, our kids had to walk at least 5-10minutes. They were exhausted at that point (and that happened to be the day the Gondola closed right when we got there!)
Also, the Mansfield Lodge needs some updating. The Spruce Lodge is very nice, but the Mansfield Lodge is old and outdated. And the bathrooms smelled terrible in that lodge.
Overall, I would not hesitate to come back to Stowe. We had a great experience as a family here.

The view was awesome. However, think it was much too expensive, $29.00 per person. Staff was very friendly.

Despite the rain the night before we skied the terrain was excellent and Stowe offers a really great range of terrain for all levels of skiers. We particularly liked the glades!

We arrived late at night after a long drive with no dinner and had trouble finding the correct entrance, we had to find somebody to ask. This was to be our treat accommodation of the trip, quite expensive, but out room was stuffy and did not smell clean. My son was very hungry and being so late he ordered Buffalo Wings through room service. We had never seen such poorly cooked food, they were colourless and still quite raw in the middle. I suggested they should go back to the kitchen, it was disgraceful and dangerous, food poisoning just waiting to happen. He did not want to cause a fuss and being so hungry he ate just a bite out of each (6 of them) and gave up....that cost $44. Unbelievable.
The bath plug would not close off. We had no blankets or quilts for our beds (it was October) - just a narrow cotton throw across the bottom of each bed that was useful for nothing at all. What a disgrace. We were cold all night.
Next day we had a long journey ahead, but had to wait 20 mins for a table in the dining room for breakfast. Then we had to order from the menu with table service that was incredibly slow. Then we waited almost 40 mins for our food to arrive. I ordered salmon with hash potatoes - now I don't mind greasy food now and then, but I had to tip up the little skillet it came in to drain some oil before I could eat. My son's food was just as bad, and he does not like greasy food. He was not happy - he was still hungry from the night before. My toast was missing and when I asked it finally arrived, but it was the wrong bread.
When I got home I contacted management as I thought I had reasonable cause to provide some feedback to them. They ignored me. I expected it.
I would suggest you think twice before staying here (especially at the prices) or at least be ready to fend off any bad experiences.

This is an Epic Pass (Vail mountain) resort and they charge Epic pass premium prices but they are running the mountain on a shoestring budget and provide a terrible skiing experience. We went over the holidays. It was more than cold enough to be blowing snow and have most of the mountain opened. (Plus it snowed a foot). Hardly anything was open and they didn't blow any snow the whole time. Two short blacks, both in lousy condition, and no double blacks. Only a handful of runs in general and most lifts also closed. This place just isn't worth it.

My boyfriend and I visited Stowe to ski around NYE. We were aware of the expensive price we had to pay for both lift tickets and rentals. However, due to paying such a high price we figures the trails would be better maintained. We were disappointed to see that the blue and green trails were completely covered in ice. They also do not make snow for the blue and green trails. We are not overly experiences skiers and felt as if this resort caters to experiences skiers only. However, Stowe was absolutely beautiful and the resort's amenities were great so we were not overly disappointed!

I went to Stowe Mountain Resort to take advantage of a widely advertised lift ticket deal which I called to verify the week before my trip. When I arrived, the ticket line was already 10 people deep with only two inexperienced employees working the line. After 30 minutes and multiple calls by the employee to various personnel, I was told they would not offer the deal. I appealed this all the way to the General Manager at Stowe, Bobby Murphy, and to Rob Katz, the CEO of Vail Resorts (which recently acquired Stowe) and got absolutely no satisfaction. This is not the customer-focused, friendly Stowe Mountain that I previously loved, and is instead a corporately owned entity run by persons only interested the bottom line. If you're in the area, save yourself the time and aggravation and enjoy nearby resorts like Killington and Sugarbush that want and value your business.

Took a ride up to the top, wonderful views!! Great way to see the whole valley!!! No wait to get on the gondola. Would recommend!!

When we first visited, there was a local chef's display and tasting activity on the premises which I understand has become an annual activity each fall featuring from farm to table food creations. Another time, we had lunch here and thoroughly enjoyed the 400 burgers and fries, bao sandwiches, popcorn chicken which my granddaughter could eat every day, and kimchi pork cheek with a spicy sauce. I had a very tender and juicy breast of chicken sandwich which contained a chiffonade of lettuce, blue cheese crumbles, pickles and a buffalo wing sauce. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive making us feel very welcome. While a bit overpriced (you would expect this at a ski resort), as Mikey would say, "try it, you'll like it."

Fix your parking. Standstill traffic backed up to Stowe village. Clearly your new parking fees and carpooling rules aren’t cutting it. Awful.

After almost an hour in traffic to go two miles, there was no parking. No warning, no signage, no attendants to help. Tried five lots with no availability. Finally gave up and left. Total mismanagement. Complete failure for this Vail resort.

We wanted to go to the top of Stowe Mountain to see the beautiful views. We had planned to ride up the mountain and hike back down. When we saw the prices to ride up on the gondola, we decided to hike up instead and ride down the gondola -which was free to go down from the top. The hike is most definitely a difficult hike and it noted on the trail guides as such. It took about 1 1/2 hours to hike straight up under the gondola. It is obviously very steep and requires a slow go with many stops. We were lucky that it was not a bright sunny day for the hike even though the clouds and threat of rain made it less than ideal viewing of the scenic mountains. We were quite sweaty when we reached the top and not sure if it was hotter that we could have done it. We did ride the gondola down the mountain, which was free and we got to see the same views as if we paid for the ride up! If you are considering hiking up or down (down can be tougher on the body than up!), be prepared and consider your fitness level and take water.

Earlier this year , the STOWE mountain Resort was bought by the company that runs the Vail ( among others) resorts. They now have the 18 carat nerve to charge $131.00 for a lift ticket if you walk up to the window on the day you want to ski. For a family of 4 thats $524 just to ski, let alone have lunch or a coffee.
BUT, if you book a ticket on line 2 days in advance, the price drops down to $99.00. Of course, if you wake up sick and can’t ski on the particular day ( as happened to my son who woke up with a 103 degree fever), the $99 was non-refundable. Despite everything, they would not refund our money.
These people are pure and simple gouging the public, especially during the Christmas and New Year holidays. $131.00 for a single day ticket? $99.00 for a non-refundable ticket bought in advance? What’s wrong with this picture??
Avoid STOWE Mountain unless you like being taken advantage of.

I know that Stowe used to be a zoo on weekends and grudgingly admit that a parking fee on Saturdays and Sundays might be in order, but to have a fee also on Fridays gave me pause. Then, even if the sign on the way to the resort said parking fee for Friday through Sunday and on holidays, I found out that there would have been a fee also on the Tuesday after Presidents Day - "Holiday Week"! This kind of sneaky nickel-and-diming is what big corporations like Vail do, but I have a way to respond: No more Epic Pass for me next year.

The mountain is stunning. Staff is good. The lodge, however, is sub par. If you pay between 500-800 a night you expect superior service. If I wanted to stay at a Motel 6 I would've saved hundreds of dollars.

Incredible trails, incredible views! Incredible day on the slopes! We love Stowe; it’s our go to mountain for awesome riding!

Stowe has a thing serious skiers will appreciate. The entire mountain is steep, doesn’t seem to flatten off, so the entire vertical drop is good skiing unlike many resorts. High-speed lifts mean short waits, though you pay for it with very expensive lift passes. Trails are narrow and fun, if crowded on a weekend. Northern vermont style trails. Off-piste is whatever you make of it but only when the snow is fresh. On-mountain food is very pricey though excellent. Only drawbacks are that the hill is a drive from the town and hotels, unless you stay at the resort in which case you miss out in the charm of the pretty town of Stowe, and again everything is at the high end of pricing.

I've lived in Vermont for 28 years. I've held yearly passes and skied at 6+ eastern resorts over the years. Stowe Mountain Resort excels for its amazing trail grid. There are so many nearly one-mile runs where you can commit and go, without worry about 'yahoos' coming in from side trails. Here, I am comparing Killington and Stowe. Don't look at trail count, look at the network, ask around, and you will come to understand that Stowe is exceptional for this. Also, it has nearly all high speed quads and a gondola. This means that you get so many more runs in a morning. Less wait, more skiing. My start was at Killington in the late 80s, but my kids started skiing at Stowe in the early 2000's. There is wonderful beginner terrain, especially on the Spruce Peak area, featuring trails with an even grade and slow-loading lifts. The new EPIC pass will grant ski privileges at resorts out west. So, other than Big Bear, CA in the early 90s, we are now venturing to Park City, Utah for a winter ski trip in 2019. The town of Stowe offers so many dining options. It's great for pre-ski and apres-ski options. too. One personal recommendation... go early to the mountain to get a decent parking spot (or take the Mountain Road shuttle, for free). Also, check the NOAA weather forecast for 'Stowe Mountain Resort' prior to skiing, so that you get a good idea of the weather conditions. Parking at Spruce side is challenging. So, rise early. feed everyone, drop-off for the kids at ski school at the Spruce Adventure Center, and then settle in over at the Mansfield lot to get to the mountain.

Been coming to Stowe for years. Love it. Have not skied newer area and generally stick to the Gondola when the weather is cold (and it was wicked cold) on this trip. Come up for the skiing and best ski town in VT.

The Stowe Mountain Resort Spa was our favorite part of our family vacation. It is a serene atmosphere and the services were of great quality. I would highly recommend. The massage by Alicia was especially fantastic. All 3 of us got a massage from here and we couldn't have been happier.

We were looking forward to visiting Stowe the last week of February and arrived to ski Thursday March 1st 2018. Upon purchasing lift tickets we found the price of the ticket was $130 which is in sharp contrast to the online price of $94.
Since the conditions were loose granular along with the enhanced pricing I was less than pleased, $262 for two of us.
I felt compelled to place call to the lift ticket office. They guided me to Stacy the manager,
to which I left a message for a return call. The call was not returned. I called again a few days later left another short message and never received a call. Finally I tried one more time and she answered. After a short discussion she wasn't interested in much of anything except corporate policy statements. So much for Vermont hospitality.

I skied over the Holidays the conditions were not the best but the management(Epic/Vail) was first class. The resort still has the old New England feel to it. The Lift lines where manageable. The Food at the base was very good and a bit expensive. I will go back again

Another good ski day at at Stowe. The trails were groomed just right and plenty of terrain to ski on! A great time on a really nice day...

Stowe Mountain Resort is a must visit for people hoping to see beautiful stunning scenery of fall colors. The view from Gandola was a treat to eyes with stunning views from top too. Highly recommended during peak fall.

Stowe is East Coast skiing at its best. Great trails and grooming. A bit oversold and more crowded than it should be. Front four and oters are very challenging.

Great but very over priced
We go several times a year but wish the prices were more reasonable
The resort was better when it was run by AIG.

A two hour tour in the mountains very organized on time and very friendly staff
We were 16 couples on motorcycles with 4 guides the very new motorcycles

One of the best ski in, ski out places ever. It was easy to get around and very interesting. I loved it.

Loved the mountain, loved the snow, great runs, groomers had done a great job. Super friendly on mountain staff and patrols.
On mountain refreshments are definitely at more chic european prices though.

Having never been to the Sugar Slalom, it seemed like a good idea. It turned out great. On advice of a friend we stayed at the Stowe mountain lodge. Outstanding!
Stowe mountain was amazing. The snow was great. With all the March snow almost everything was open. There is terrain for everyone.

Our first time at Stowe. Grooming is only so so. Even though it was a holiday weekend, if you didn’t need to go to the top of the mountain the lift lines were small. Our big issue was it was not easy to move between mountain areas without a big hike.

I loved the variety of blue slopes. I was able to snowboard all day on almost all blues and have plenty of runs. It is a little tough to travers the mountain with the way the lifts are separated on difficult to get from one to the other on the base of the mountain. The small area that the Over Easy gondola takes you to is perfect for shorter runs. Other than that the runs are usually long.

Husband totally enjoyed the skiing at Stowe easy drop off and pick up areas very accommodating staff

It is tough to accept that Vail is charging $30 PER car for those using the parking lot. It is for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And the parking lot is one large pot hole after another!! I am a Epic Pass holder and that counts for nothing. This is really outrageous!!

Had so much fun here with my husband and 2 little kids. We've skied all over North America and Stowe is definitely close to the top of our list. For Canadians traveling during the March break, it was perfect, not crowded, and ski on and off all day long!

Everything from the room to staff to food was perfect. Hiking near by. Town has a festival - octoberfest! Tons of fun up and down the mountain

Beautiful views atop the Mansfield gondala chair for some of the best skiing in the North East. Offers advanced terrain with nice long green runs.

Family ski trip on President’s Day weekend. Lift lines were 0-15 minutes. The major lifts have blue/intermediate trails so the entire mountain was open to intermediates and up. 21” snow over the weekend. The fall lines off the Forerunner Quad (mostly around 30 degrees) ski beautifully with some powder. Chopped powder all weekend, with some areas being powder on scratch. Overall: surprisingly good skiing for the East. But similar prices to Whistler, Jackson Hole.
Stowe Hack: best snow is off the Sensation Quad. No one goes there.

We just spent 4 days at the Stowe Mt Lodge, played 2 rounds of golf, hiked and enjoyed some relaxation by the pool. The resort is beautiful! A special shout out to Buck, who waited on us and provided unbelievable service! The golf was spectacular at both courses, with especially amazing views from the Mt Course! We would love to come back in the winter!

We planned and visited Stowe Mountain for a 5 day trip... 4 of those days riding the mountain. We experienced a mixed bag of conditions (non of which was anyones fault). The first day we hit the slopes, the mountain had experienced 18 - 24" of fresh snow two days prior to our arrival. The corduroy from the groomers was GREAT to ride... you could really get into the snow and hit some fun lines. The next day the mountain received 5 - 8" at the summit and 1 - 3" at the bottom overnight, which made for a great day riding some fresh powder. The woods (glades) had really deep snow... we all got stuck several times, way past knee deep! The third day started off great again with corduroy but lead to rain showers in the afternoon and into the evening. Unfortunately our last day was either chunky terrain, left by the groomers trying to groom the slopes or ice. Needless to say, our trip ended with some disappointment. You get what you get though and we vacation enough throughout the winter to know conditions aren't always perfect. The mountain itself has something for everybody. Whether its strolling down "Tool Road", riding down "Sterling", or flying down "Hayride".... you are bound to find some great places you'll want to ride over and over again! Tips: There are two ranges, Mt. Mansfield & Spruce. Mt. Mansfield is busier than Spruce, so if its crowded... try Spuce Mt.

Awesome views of the mountain ! From our studio on the fifth floor 20 foot ceilings filled with windows balcony , fireplace and kitchenette just a great experience !

I traveled to Stowe in late December and didn’t realize you need to buy lift tickets nearly a week in advance to get a decent discount. I figured this out the day before we wanted to ski. I contacted by email the customer service and voiced my opinion how ridiculous their policy was and getting $5 off a $140 ticket is pretty crazy. To my surprise, no one ever responded. We went to the mountain only to find out the same story at the ticket desk. We left and did not ski there. We went to Jay Peak and Sugarbush instead who both gave us tickets for half the cost.i used to like skiing at Stowe but will not bother to go there again. They are greedy and out of touch with the times. No one charges anything close to that in Vermont and it isn’t worth it.

Early season conditions (Thanksgiving weekend), partial lift and trail openings, but no lines! Snow was ok, apres was decent. Stayed at Spruce Mountain Lodge on site- very good. Would go again, but Killington still my favorite

Now named Spruce Peak, we loved this luxury resort. We found it to be very family friendly with tons of available activities. My son-in-law and I really enjoyed the Whistle Pig bourbon tasting on the lawn ans the kids played a variety of lawn games. The pool was great as were the climbing walls. The highlight of the trip was the 2-mile zip line. A gondola took us from the resort to the top of Mount Mansfield when the 3-section zip line course began. It was fantastic!! We will be back.

During out trip to Stowe we soon found that Route 100 had many atttractions including resorts, restaurants , shops, pubs and most importantly, a small movie house. We took in the sites and enjoyed views of a winter wonderland.

We lucked out with a sunny day and great snow conditions. Stowe has something for everyone from beginners to experts. The grooming was pretty good. I'm spoiled by Okemo but it was really great skiing.

My family skied here over Christmas just after it had rained and frozen. The terrain is great for experienced skiers and experts and they have some of the most challenging terrain in the East. However, they lack beginning terrain and they made almost no snow beyond the base area and bunny slope. You'd think that at $125 a pop, they could afford to invest a bit in snow-making to make for a more pleasant experience for their customers.

The Adventure center is basically closed with no activities for children in the middle of the school winter break. The whole indoor rock climbing area in the adventure center is shut down due to lack of staffing. I've been bringing my young children to the resort for years and they have learned to ski at the resort. They love the rock climbing area and it's a major reason we visit this resort and not others. This is the first year that Stowe is under the management of Vail Resorts. It seems that Vail is going cheap and cutting back on activities for children in order to increase their profits. Many Schools in the Northeast just went on winter break and there are lots of kids here and none of the activities they have had in the past. The website is deceptive and doesn't advertise they have shut the adventure center down. Vail resorts is the Grinch that ruined Christmas at Stowe.

We stayed here 2 nights in the fall had a first floor room with a great view of the mountain. The room was wonderful and loved having the fireplace in the living room area, made it so cozy on chilly nights. They had turn down service and was nice to come back from dinner to extras in the bathroom and the bed turned down. The Valet service on a busy night needs some help, but all the valets were rushing around. We figured out we could park in the back if we were going back out and not wait for the valet to get your car. We would use the valet when we were in for the night, its paid for in the resort fee so might as well use it. We loved the location of the resort, the extra shops around we would definately stay here again. All the staff was very friendly even the valets when they were running around working hard.

Summer review. Gondola to the top is amazing. Cliff House was great. I could spend hours up here. It's not inexpensive, but it was worth it. Family did the Zipline Tour which they LOVED

This is a lovely place to stay with excellent service. The front desk staff were always great, and the concierge was very helpful. The scenery is fantastic!

I've been teaching my 9yo's to ski this year, mostly at local hills in Connecticut. Planned a long weekend for some real skiing in Stowe with them, and was not disappointed.
As most people know this year has been a crazy terrible snow year in the north east. I was really glad I booked at Stowe. Its far enough north that it got dumped on, over a foot of snow while we were there. While locations farther south got hit with rain and freezing rain.
I was worried that stowe would be too advanced and not great for my kids who are just learning. found that not to be true at all. There are some really nice beginner trails there, and some really long ones, so it made for a perfect location for my kids to improve their skills, and I really enjoyed skiing along with them!
Facilities were top notch. The Mansfield lodge is the older one nearer the harder terrain, we didnt try that lodge. Spruce Peak lodge is in a newer complex, and was an amazing home base, especially for families that have a few bags of gear, food etc. They have a huge very comfortable locker area on the first floor with free day lockers and plenty of space to gear up in comfort. The upper floor is a really nice cafeteria and bar. Tons of tables, even on a Saturday. Food is expensive, but much better than typical ski areas. There is a gondola here that easily takes you back and forth to the older bigger mountain area.
I'll describe some of the beginner trails, in case anyone is interested...
Spruce Peak is probably where to start for beginners. They have your typical magic carpets and a small easy chair lift "adventure triple". This ski run is very gentle and would be perfect for someones first day. Most resorts bunny hills are not a consistant grade, which can be challenging. I think this one was machine graded to make a perfect, easy, consistent slope.
There is a slightly longer and steaper begginers lift nearby called "meadows quad" that is perfect for second day skiiers, once you are ready for a bit of a challenge. My kids where doing some gentle blue runs on this lift as well.
From there we went over to the original Stowe side of the resort via the "over easy" gondola. This side of the resort only has long haul lifts and one gondola. There are green runs and some easier blue runs, but dont try these until you are a "confident beginner" because they are very very long runs.
The easiest run over here is taking the "mountain triple" lift. Unfortunately there is no small lifts on this side, and "Mountain" lift is a bit of a hike from the gondola. So be prepared to walk or scoot quite a ways to get to the lift. Just go slow and easy. The lift may be intimidating for beginners, because the slopes below the lift are expert double black diamonds. But the easier runs snake down the side of the mountain and are very gentle.
Start with "Toll Road" run, then "Lullaby Lane" to "Lower Tyro". Which gets you a back to the same lift. "Toll road" is a bit narrow so might be a bit difficult if you need wide turns, but otherwise very easy and fun.
Once you concur that, you might consider taking the "Forerunner" Quad lift all the way to the top. from there you can take the upper part of the "Toll Road" run all the way down to where you started "toll road" from the "mountain lift". Technically this is a blue in the upper part, but I would say 90% of it is green level. This was a really fun run, but really really long, so my kids got very tired when we did this toward the end of the day.
There is an awesome Gondola that goes up the right side of the mountain. This is a really comfortable way to get to the peak. No wind or snow in your face. Unfortunately there is only blues and blacks here. I tested the blues to see if they were easier ones and I determined they would be too hard for my kids this year.
Anyway, despite being a bit worried about the mountain being to advanced, I had a great time with my beginner kids and would recommend Stowe for all skier levels. Amazing ski resort!

Sometimes changes can be good, but changes for the sake of changes usually don't work out. This is especially true for what Vail resorts has done to Stowe. For no good reason Vail resorts moved the ticket window from the mid-lodge to the gondola. There were only two windows open and it took me fifty minutes to get to the window even though only ten people were in front of me, because everyone's personal data had to be entered into the computer, name address and phone#, for no good reason.I am lucky, at least I wasn't on the chairlift that stalled two days later and 160 people had to be rescued over a three hour period. Nice upgrades Vail! THat was the last 140 dollars for a daily lift ticket you will get from me

Went here to catch the foliage, and this hotel is the perfect location to watch the spectacle day by day. We stayed in a 2-bedroom suite, which was so clean, well-stocked and spacious. Nobody can go wrong staying at this place for some nice peaceful R&R.

The skiing and resort facilities were fine. However, the skis cost more to rent than they would have to buy, and the premium skis were far from it. A half day lift pass costs the same as a full day, and was only mildly discounted despite there being 1 lift open! Lift pass pricing and rental costs nothing like other resorts; more market research required.

Getting rid of the Stowe Bypass is just another dumb idea in a long list of dumb ideas for this resort. The resort looks at anyway to get the skier to pay for days when they won't be on the mountain. While you're likely guaranteed to always have white stuff (snow or ice) you won't always have the greatest conditions. Stowe wants you to pay upfront (48 hours in advance) for bargain prices (just under $100), or risk paying $131 or so for the option of paying that day. You want a season pass, you better get it before November, too late now. And the season passes don't cover the major weekends, this is really great. Yes, the EPIC pass did drop season passes down a lot from the astronomical prices of previous years, but again not giving the option to buy after November. This will be the first year in 18 years of having access to a place on the mountain that we will be using the condo as a place to stay as we make day trips to Smugs, Sugarbush and JP.

Decent mountain. Absolutely unprofessional employees and management. Harassing me and my family for sitting on a hill. I guess they don’t have anything better to do in Vermont.

loved it when I went to skiing loved it can't wait to go back and the people are nice by the tickets was nice

I typically snowboard in Colorado, but we recently relocated to the NE and figured we would give Stowe a try. The mountain is a lot smaller than the Colorado resorts, but the terrain was better than I was anticipating. Unfortunately, the temperatures warmed up before our visit and the conditions were very icy on the steeper slopes. To be expected on the east coast, but the warmer temps/rain prior to Xmas made matters worse. Overall, a fun mountain with lots of intermediate and expert trails. Spruce Peak also offers some good beginner terrain and is convenient to the Spruce Peak Lodge.
Definitely worth the drive and we will likely be back.

The spa is amazing. Gym, sauna, steam, hot tub, “sanctuary space “ (giggles). Great for arrival day and to finish off after a big ski day.

We visited during leaf peeping season and had amazing views from the top. If sun was not out not sure it would be worth it.
Wish we had planned better cause the zip lining looked amazing.
Cost is $29 per adult. Some of the best views we saw all week except for Smugglers Gulch.

Took the gondola to the top of Mt. Mansfield in the fall season of 2020 over Columbus Day weekend (the last weekend the gondola and toll road are open). The 10 min ride to the top gives you a 360 degree of the mountain side and is great for seeing the fall foliage. The ride down is just as easy. Free parking at the bottom, right across the street from the main resort. Monitor the Stowe mountain alerts page on twitter for info about lines and waits and operating status. Arrive early, right at opening! The line was quite long and a two hour wait when we returned at noon. When up with a girlfriend and retuned with a fiancé. So overall a great experience!

We were staying at the incredible Green Mountain Inn about 8 miles south in Stowe and decided to check the resort out. The lodge is impressive with restaurant, bar, great lobby, pool, great views and off-site properties also. We took the gondola across the property and had magnificent views of Mt.Mansfield. We liked the village feel with the restaurants, shops, lodging and village green with bandstand that was holding a concert there that night. Though we are not skiers, we enjoyed walking around the property. It was interesting that it was 70 degrees in Stowe, 63 at the resort and only 57 at the top of the mountain.

This Vail resort is the most expensive in Vermont. They also do not honor military veterans discounts. After providing my DD 214 and Veterans designation ID at the counter the Vail employee (Dan) informed me that only Active Duty and those that served 20 years in the military are provided a discount. If you otherwise completed your combat tours and years of service outside of this criteria, Vail will not honor a discount.

Great skiing. The holiday week can get very busy and the trails do get a bit crowded but as long as the three main lifts are operating (Sunny Spruce Quad, Gondola, and Fourrunner Quad) then the crowds stay at an acceptable level. Once one of those three shut down for a wind hold then it gets way too busy on the trails. There aren’t any green trails off the peaks so you’ll find a lot of skiers out there who don’t belong on the intermediate trails.

Great snow, great on mountain food options and beautiful Spruce Peak area for on mountain lodging and apes ski is phenomenal! Great shops, outdoor ice skating rink, and Whistle Pig tasting room were all big hits.

The resort itself was beautiful! Pretty winter decorations. However on the mountain, no one knew anything. They didn't know what trails were open and which weren't. Then around 330 we went to take the gondola back to the parking lot but wanted to come back over and go ice skating , we asked the people working at the gondola if there was another way back to the parking lot since our car was across the way but the gondola closed at (i wanna say 6?) So we wanted to come back and go ice skating but not be trapped on the lodge side, and we asked the workers if there was a shuttle bus or something else back there and you would've thought we just asked them to explain the the bremuda triangle to us. Just stared and babbled. So we came back after dropping our skiis off, got a drink in the lodge, the hostesses and bartender at the bar upstairs were all very nice! Then went out to go ice skating . The girl that worked in the ice skate rental place was dead inside and looked miserable . She asked me what size I was and I said I think 9 but idk in skates and she just kinda chucked them at me not saying I could try on another size if those didn't fit or anything. Again, beautiful place, nice and helpful people that worked in the restaurant and bar, the rest of the people on the mountain had no idea up from down

A very nice ski resort with attractive scenery and great slopes. Some of the longer slower slopes are the most beautiful in north America.

Spent three days in October at Stowe Mountain Resort to enjoy the fall colors. The location of this resort did not disappoint. Large resort with many wonderful amenities of which we took full advantage. Great pool area, fitness room and relaxing spa. Our room in the south wing was very comfortable, quiet and provided a beautiful view of fall colors. Cell service was spotty in the resort. Kitchenette was well stocked. Bathroom was spacious and comfortable (however, shower head could be upgraded for price of rooms). We ate at Solstice first night. I had completed the email survey before arriving but upon asking about our dinner reservation, Concierge stated he never received it, but was able to make reservation for us the day we arrived (not surprising as resort seemed relatively empty). Food was good, menu slightly limited (for example, wanted a side salad, which server was able to accommodate, but priced like another entrée!) and drinks were overpriced but that is too be expected at a resort like this. However, after this experience, we decided to venture off site for all other meals and were so glad as Stowe has many wonderful restaurant options! Most disappointing aspect of our stay at the Resort was the lack of friendliness of staff we interacted with at front desk and concierge. We requested a two hour late check out for last day and were told it was impossible due to a large group arriving (which was understandable), however we were then awakened by housekeeping at 9:00am to see if we were gone yet. This resort obviously thrives during ski season, but we think they are missing the boat if they don't find ways to appreciate and accommodate people that come at other times of year.

Everything about Stowe is awesome. This resort / town offers everything you need. Quite, not crowded, reasonably priced. They really offer a great product. By far my favorite resort on the east coast.

Great day on the slopes, weather could of been a little better however any day on the slopes is better than work or house work!! Will need to come back to explore the areas we missed.

My novice young teens wanted to give skiing a try. We were visiting for just a few days from Europe. I booked online the Big Easy lesson. Then I booked a semi private for the next day as a follow up.
First you are emailed a list of ‘before the lesson’ instructions, but not one mentions where the Adventure ski school is and it is not signposted from the road. But we eventually found it. It also didn’t explain that you would not be able to collect your rental equipment until half an hour before the lesson. But that done my kids enjoyed the lesson and really liked the instructor.
For $345 the two hour lesson included rentals and beginner lift pass.
I ended up cancelling the follow up lesson. It was $435 for two hours. But that did not include rentals nor lift pass! In total it would have cost about $750!!!! Off peak!!!! How can anyone afford it?!?

I loved the resort and skiing. HOWEVER be very careful with the parking. These people are horrendous! Parking for 5 is free with a “coupon code”. Friday and Saturday there were plenty of pretty kind people passing them out. Sunday it was a ghost town. My brother had 5 and the parking attendants said “don’t worry about it.” They looked everywhere and could not find a single person with a coupon. Guess what? Massive 90 dollar ticket. Rude people who won’t change anything. Not sure I’ll be back. Certainly left a bad taste.

Vail killed Stowe. It used to be decent. It is a nightmarish hellscape at this point.
Customer service is non-existent. The resort caters exclusively to rich out-of-state patrons. There is now more luxury resort lodging than there is mountain to ride on, or parking to access either.
Let us pray that Vail resorts somehow goes down in a blazing disaster and someone else takes this resort over. Its the only chance Stowe has left.
(Season pass holder, logged ~30 days on the mountain in 2018/19)

We went with family & friends and skied the mountain. Cold day but good spring skiing. Had a great time.

The place is in a gorgeous spot, no doubt the hotel more cut put as a snow lodge than summer resort, but the staff (with exception of valet parkers & engineer that lit pool fire at night) were not helpful, lacking follow through, service. Housekeeping is no good..simply dont do a good job, daily calls to get clean this or that, front desk same impression. Spa so overpriced it offensive..spas in town awesome service , 2/3 less $$. Best part place was like the Mtn hotel in shining..no one was here. Had place to ourselves which might explain staffing issues.

Whatever you do - don't go to Stowe Mountain Resort. No snow at all. Focus your efforts on someplace in New Hampshire or Southern Vermont.

Cold, icy skiing place. No grooming to speak of. Wait till spring to ski here. Killington is the place to ski until April 1st.

We have good friends that own 2 apartments in the resort and always invite-us to spend the week with them. The resort is very beautiful and well kept, the apartments are very spacious with lovely furniture and comfy beds. The summers are beautiful there although I was told that so are the winters..the area is beautiful with so much to do. Can’t wait to return!

Our 4 year old started being able to make a snow plow on a small hill and left after 3 full day group lessons taking the chair lift, making turns on a relatively steep hill with her skis together - wow - great organized ski school for kids with friendly and cheerful instructors. They have great ski school, drop our kids off with confidence they are in good hands!

We really enjoyed the skiing and service at Stowe Mountain. Weather was great with lots of snow. The double blacks are pretty easy as long as there is not ice at the top. Will go back!

Fresh snow when we arrived in early December. Gorgeous area with accommodating staff. Enjoyed a day of snow and cold after arriving from Florida!

Decent amount of terrain open considering a slow snow start to the winter. Mountain shuttle from village eliminated the parking pain. This mountain works hard to eliminate packing your own lunch. Stowe should provide facilities for the brown bag crowd. Mansfield lifts need updating.

The resort and associated amenities were very well kept, clean and appealing. The staff was helpful and friendly, particularly the concierge named Emil. We were always greeted with smiles and frequently asked if we needed anything. The resort area has some nice and convenient options for food but due to how late in Oct we were visiting, most were not available to us. Additionally, we can after Columbus Day, so the gondola and toll road had closed for the season, which was disappointing.

I think this may be a bit lost on me. Oh, it's big and expanding but I wish there was more to do (beyond skiing) that makes you want to stay on the property versus driving into town. restaurants/ retail?

Granted we did not have great conditions but didn't love the trail layout, and on a bluebird day, felt that every trail on Mansfield was in the shadows all day. We are a Killington family, and Stowe cant compete with Killington which has much better terrain and is closer to home.

It was my first experience in the East coast for skiing. I have been to the West coast area including Vail, Deer Valley and Whistler (Canada). Stowe Mountain Resort is on the smaller side with some shops and restaurants. There is a beautiful ice skating rink as well. However, I think that it’s overpriced for what it has to offer. In addition, the scope of the mountain slopes is relatively small. If you’re an intermediate level skier, you can ski most of the slopes in one full day. So, in my opinion, the ski pass is also overpriced.
Still we enjoyed our time in Stowe, but I’m not sure I’ll be back to be honest. I still prefer the Colorado and Utah resorts.

Nice view, but bumpy ride and much too expensive! At $29 per person to (almost) go up to the summit, it’s really not worth it.

Did a 3 day summer visit- hiked the trails, and ate as much great Vermont cheese as I could. VERY nice resort, staff was incredible, valet parking was great, and rooms were amazing. Loved having a glass of wine by the pool's fire pit at night.

At the highest peak in Vermont, Mount Mansfield, I got an $134 lift ticket for FREE thank you to Kendall and Nicole, with some of the best views at a ski area. Nicole and I drove the 170 miles in 2.5 hours last night to stay at the Innsbruck Inn for the great french toast and scrambled eggs with bacon and sausage breakfast and short one mile ride ride to the mountain this morning. We arrived at the mountain at 7:45am and left at 4:30pm. We literally got the last chair at 4pm. The mountain was huge and we didn't stop skiing until after 19 runs at 1:30pm for lunch and 20 minutes later, back out on the slopes for 7 more runs. They did a great job grooming and had trails well marked and equipment in new or great condition. They had 100 trails open and we did 80 percent of them. The GPS is covered in red. The runs were as long as 3.8 miles, and there were so many to choose from on the 3 mountains. We did 40,000 feet vertical, and 42.8 miles (1/4 of the distance to drive there : 170 miles)! There were no lift lines, a wide variety of lifts, including the 8 passenger gondola. I lost my goggles TWICE, and Nicole picked them up for me both times, never letting on that she had them. (I can't tell when they fly off with the hard helmet. Before with the soft hat I could feel them leave me. I obviously don't have them over my eyes.) The food in the lodge was expensive but good. They are expecting over a foot of snow tonight and tomorrow. I'd go back if I could afford it....Sugarbush on Monday for FREE if they get some fresh white stuff.

This is the right time to visit Stowe when the colors are on peak n the entire mountain n nearby areas are full of colors . Gandola ride adds to your fun n thrilling experience. Ensure your phone has good storage space to ensure one can capture pics n videos of nature as many as possible at Stowe as well as on way .Enjoy the experience.

Ok, look...this place is really beautiful..the lodge is gorgeous, the restaurants in the resort are great, very nice amenities but...we were supposed to stay right at the resort in a ski in ski out condo and eight days before we were to arrive, they canceled our reservation saying the heat in the unit we were to
occupy was broken and they would be unable to fix it within the time before our arrival. Really? Really?? Who’s buying that one?? Not us! So they put us in a condo in the town of Stowe so we had to drive to the mountain every day to ski. What a pain in the butt!! They did provide us with valet parking and that was nice of them but would have preferred the original arrangements. This is a sweet little ski area and I do mean LITTLE!! I have only skied in CO so skiing in the east is a new experience. Everyone at the resort was wonderful, professional and pleasant. But too bad that mess up with our reservation has left a bad taste in my mouth for this place. I guess I didn’t know they could actually do that!!

The resort was beautiful! We didn't stay here, but visited for the views. It is fun to ride the Gondula from the main parking lot over to the resort. For $40 a person you can ride the Gondula to the top of Mt. Mansfield, or you can drive it for a fee. We were happy just to visit the base of the mountain and enjoy the views. It's truly beautiful - even in the Summer!

My husband and I took our daughter and grand daughters ages 2 &4 on the gondola ride up the mountain. They loved it! Having windows on all four sides allowed for fantastic views and many ohs and ahhs. The staff was very friendly. Once at the top there is a small gift shop and a restaurant. We did not eat here this trip, but plan a return excursion. The ride back down was just as breathtaking and well worth the drive!

Haven’t been here in many years, dramatically changed for the better. It’s really user friendly with everything you could possibly want. Skier friendly facilities with beautiful lodges, lockers, restaurants lifts, they have the best of everything. Even the stairs are designed for folks in ski boots. It truly is the nicest facility I have been to. Totally enjoying it. Try the restaurant the Cliff house on the top of Mt Mansfield Gondola. Great food, great staff and a never forget view.

We requested a ski host on a Monday. Normally they don't have a host available to ski you around the mountain except on weekends. They said they'd ask around and see if someone could accomadate a Monday. We got lucky and Oliver said yes. He met us at the Spruce Peak Base Lodge and really made our day. He showed us the mountains, gave us all the local and mountain information we could want to make our day and trip better than expected. It was an exceptional day of skiing. The only minor glitch was trying to park at Spurce Peak. There is construction going on, there is some paid parking available (I think) but what they really want you to do is park at the main mountain and take the crossover to Spruce. It's something I should have looked into ahead of time. Our host made up for any misgivings about finding parking and it was a great day.

Stowe Mountain Resort has everything for everyone. The pricing is higher compared to the other mountains in the area, but the high speed lifts, gondola, and diversity of terrain truly make it worth the price. I lived in Jeffersonville for 5 years, (love Smugglers Notch with all my heart) but at the end of the day, if I could make it to Stowe, I would.
The backcountry options are endless if you know where to drop in. Hiking the Chin is an experience that any backcountry skier should try. Stowe has a great terrain park, and in bounds woods that can keep you knee deep in powder all throughout the season.
The beginner and intermediate trails are very well maintained and groomed, and the superior snowmaking equipment really makes Stowe stand out above the other mountains.

Lodge lobby is loud, cold, and dirty. Dining options are few with terrible waits and popr service. Premium pricing for a mediocre product. Ski resorts are supposed to have fun activities. What do you have, stowe? Few fireplaces, no outdoor music, limited dining, no sidewalks,. Come on!

While we were too early for ski season, we were just in time to take the Sky Ride gondola to the top of Mt. Mansfield in the fall season. The 10 min ride to the top gives you a 360 degree of the mountain side and is great for seeing the fall foliage. Once you reach the top there is the Cliffside restaurant and a very small gift shop, so there isn't much to do but wander a bit and take in the scenery, which may not make the $30 ticket worth it for some. The ride down is just as easy, and we were told if you hike up the mountain you can ride the gondola down for free, which would be an even better way to enjoy the countryside. Great option for people with small kids and older group members that don't want to do the couple hour hike. Free parking at the bottom, right across the street from the main resort.

This is by far the best resort experience on east coast - dining, accommodations, amenities and personnel. Coupled with the ski slopes makes it by far the best resort on East coast, even better than Tremblant (sorry Fairmont, Westin et all). Is a bit pricey though but apart from that is an exquisit experience that makes you come visit again any season.

If you are looking for the most posh ski in/ out resort in VT.... this is it! It will come at a HEFTY price though. Be willing to spend A LOT of money. When you pull up to the resort it is massive and absolutely beautiful. The bell stand is very friendly/ accommodating and will help you unpack your vehicle at a moments notice. When you walk in the front doors you are amazed by a four story vaulted ceiling, intricate wood beams, and a huge fireplace. Checkin was very easy and simple enough. Bell stand brings your luggage to the room and does an overview of the accommodations within. The resort also has a ski valet, so your boots, board, &/or skis are kept there throughout your stay. We ate at and enjoyed the Solstice restaurant and used the bar for local craft beer. There is a large outdoor heated pool, which could have been a bit warmer, and two large hot tubs. The resort has its own clothing shops and a skating rink on the backside of the main building... sorta an outdoor mall concept. All in all, we truly had a fantastic five days while there. The only reason for the 4/5 rating.... its just too expensive. Don't get me wrong, the place is very nice.... but VERY expensive!

I went to visit my daughter and her fiancé for week. While I was there I went skiing. I also took a ski lesson while I was there. My instructor was a great instructor. He pushed me outside my comfort zone....which I needed. Then he was there to give me instructions and encouragement.

We were there just after Christmas when it was exceptionally cold and windy too. Not all of the runs were open due to the above and there were not that many mountain huts to warm up inbetween runs. Getting our ski pass was not easy and the staff somewhat indifferent although we had booked and paid in advance. Runs in the main were nicely groomed.

We visited the Stowe Mountain Resort while in Stowe. It is a beautiful place - they have a climbing wall day care for the kiddos where they can work on their climbing skills while mom and dad are skiing. We were there in the summer and they had a professional tennis match being held on the grounds.
The resort is nestled in the bottom of Mount Mansfield across the street from the ski area. There is a gondola set up that takes you from the resort right over to the ski area base.

Crowded and lift tickets are way overpriced compared to other mountains in the east. Kids are great and the buildings are top itch but if you want great skiing go elsewhere.

We purchased an Epic 4 day pass as we will be going to Park City in Feb and thought it could be great to ski Stowe for a couple of days over New Year’s weekend beforehand. Don’t be fooled - the Vail system does not at all integrate with Stowe system yet. I had to stand in a long ticket line outside in below zero temps on 12/30 then wait another 20 minutes while they had to manually re-enter all our information for family of four and generate all new rfid cards that could be read at Stowe. Terrible process. The poor guy next to me was waiting 40 minutes for his family of 6 to go through the same process because the clerk didn’t know how to do it. Freezing. My 14 year old could write a simple program to at least import customer data to bridge this year. If you have an EPIC pass - get there early and be prepared to wait.
Once we got on the mountain it was evident that Stowe has no idea how to efficiently get skiers around the mountain. Up steep steep slippery stairs with equipment from the Mansfield lodge just to get to the lift. Lift lines were generally short and efficient. But there is no way to get from Mt Mansfield side of mountain to gondola except A: trekking all the way across the parking lot (exhausted by the time we got there) or B: Taking the quad up and a black diamond trail to blue to get over. Our family doesn’t do black diamond - plus it was icy. No ski patrol visible on the mountain at all and several close calls with too fast skiers. Mansfield lodge is showing its age and was terribly overcrowded all day. No internet. Stowe is a beautiful mountain - but desperately needs an intervention by Vail resorts to put the customer/skier first in terms of logistics, processes, staff training and upgrades. We will not be coming back for all these reasons.

Would give negative rating I would. So since Stowe has been bought out by Vail theprices have become worse than ever, and I've been skiing the area over 40 years. On January 20th my boys jumped on the Green Mountain transit bus to head to the mountain. What should have taken no more than 10 minutes to get to the mountain ,and that's being generous with the time,It took 3 hours that day and with only a couple of hours to ski Stowe wanted $150.00 for a lift ticket! They said it was not their problem I am friends with many locals and before this happened locals told any visitors avoid Stowe. Smugglers notch and Jay are a little farther but much more customer friendly. We will never ski Stowe again and tell our ski friends, stay away,

Quite a big complex in a lovely setting. Lost sense of direction in the hallways a couple of times but eventually worked out the confusing signage. Our room while basic, was complimented by a balcony and good sized bathroom. Luckily we arrived before the shops in the complex closed, as we were able to purchase a bottle of wine to enjoy on our balcony before dinner. A real treat after a long day on the road. The buffet breakfast was very ordinary, with minimal choice. If wanting anything other than scramble eggs(which was also very ordinary), you needed to pay extra.

Lots of ski runs with options for all levels. Gondolas get you to the top quickly. Quite expensive for 2 days of skiing and no other option than buying a full day ticket (no half day or discount for 2 days). A few lodges at the bottom and top of the mountain. Easy and well-organized parking.

First, I want to say that the staff at the base lodge guest services were exceptional! They truly want you to enjoy skiing Stowe Mountain and to do so safely. However, the maintenance of the ski runs makes this effort difficult for them. Knowing that we should "ski to our ability", we thoroughly research ski resorts to see if the mountain(s) will offer good blue and green skiing. After reading on-line reviews of Stowe Mountain Resort, we chose it for its long green (Tollhouse) and what were thought to be good blue ski runs. ***This was not what we found!*** Instead, I experienced the worst trail maintenance I have seen in thirty years of skiing from Alaska to Canada and resorts in between! Narrow green trails with iced "corduroy" and no snow making on the green runs made for a treacherous experience. We met fellow skiers who agreed that the mountain was just too dangerous to ski. The only staff we met who did not do their job well, were the lift operators who will erroneously send you up a lift that is for blue/black diamond skiers only. Ski vacations are expensive and unless you are an experienced blue, black or double black diamond skier, you may want to reconsider this mountain. Caution if you have children or beginner skiers in your party,

The hotel is still nice, but not as luxurious as when AIG owned it. To Hyatt’s defense they did drop a star, but a bit more attention is required even for a 4 star hotel.
The pluses: The building is well kept and the rooms are nice. The hotel is right on the slopes, it’s the only ski-in-ski-out in Stowe. The ski valet is a real treat. The minuses: The common area has been filled with chairs and high tables which give the impression of a waiting room instead of a cozy lobby. The few games
In the game room, pool tables and an air hockey table were all broken. The breakfast buffet is a feast, but they don’t offer freshly squeezed orange juice any more.
Overall the rating depends on how much one pays for it, since the rates change dramatically from one day to the next.

We all ski over, (Rockies, Europe, BC etc.) Stowe is still a great mountain within easy striking distance from NYC, ok it's 5 hours plus by car but that beats the airport hassle and delays. It wouldn't be any good without great skiing and that the mountain has to offer, from tranquil cruisers to adrenalin pumping steeps. Great job grooming and the on the mountain lodges still have the lovely New England style and atmosphere (hope Vail Assoc doesn't muff it up) We only ski weekdays with literally zero lift lines, don't know how it plays out on weekends. As in most ski resorts the food on the mountain is expensive and mediocre

Stowe is a great place to ski but it was bought out by the company that owns Vail and the vibe is totally different now. They raised ticket prices to $147. They were ill equipped to handle someone paying cash for a 1 day ticket. It took over 15 minutes. They cater to season ticket holders and you must buy in advance for any discount. The new lodge area at Spruce peak is gorgeous, but don't bring your own food. And be prepared for shocking food prices

Great area for hiking and just getting away. We went in early September which was off season. We took the gondola to the top of the mountain and hiked. Great views. The restaurant was great.

A very positive experience. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The lifts and trails were limited due to the fact that we were there early in the season. Enjoyed what we could experience on the mountain.. A special shout out to Pete at Stay Tuned who went above and beyond to take care of our skis and us. We look forward to returning to ski again at Stowe later this season!

We went by Auto Toll road. but my advice is to take Gandola Ski and then Hike to the pick. It will be cheaper and less walk,

Fabulous snow! Great terrain! Had a wonderful time! Note: Plan ahead for coffee breaks! Best bet on “the big mountain” (Stowe, proper) is at the summit at the top of the quad. The base lodge on that side isn’t convenient for a mid-day stop.

I booked last November,2020 paid 1250 to epic pass for my family trip. I went to book at the base for lodging then realized they were booking 100 lodging but was told restaurants were only doing 30 percent capacity, that did not work for me, I did not want to spend my vacation in the room! I tried to contact epic pass numerous times for hours with no luck(wait times were over 24 hrs at many times) Finally I gave up figuring I would use the credits in the future. I got in contact with epic today and was informed zero credit on 1250 dollars not used! this was at zero cost to them! I have never written any review before but had to share this.

Stowe mountain is beautiful, the runs are great, and a very nice village. Those are the pros. Cons - The lines are bad, there are too many people, and by 10 am the slopes are already getting skied off. We spent more time in lines than skiing. Weekends with Epic passes have been disappointing in New England due to the popularity.

Stowe provides lots of terrain for good skiing and riding. I visited for the first time on a Saturday and it was pretty crowded - normal. The only issue was that first timers-new skiers all want to ride up the gandola and get to the top for that view which crowds the blue trails. Also, they could put some protection on the edges of Toll Road and call that a green, very easy trail to be a blue. It was a bit icy but hey, its the east coast right? Will be back - hopefully on a weekday. Great food on the mountain.

The hotel is fantastic. We had a lovely room with balcony, walk in shower and bath. Room came with a gas fireplace. The spa was also very good along with the outdoor pool. The restaurant is terrible. We ate there on two occasions and on both times we had to complain about the length of time it took for the meal to arrive. The restaurant was virtually empty so in the high season I suspect your food may never arrive. On the first night we sent the food back because it was inedible. Other choices from the menu were ok. Also the price of wine by the glass was astronomical, $15 for poor quality. Even in the most expensive hotels in London, England I would not be paying that price.

Stowe used to be the Aspen of the east. Now it’s the most crowded traffic congested. Some improvements but mostly the vibe has gone. Enjoy the other resorts while everyone waits to get on the mountain for three hours. Too bad because it used to be the best.

We took the gondola up the mountain. The car was not crowded so you had a pretty much unobstructed view on the way up and down. Lunch at the top was first rate. It was a little bit of a wait going back down but the vistas more than make up for it.

Took a drive up here and then walked to the peak. The colours at the lower levels were fantastic Beautiful New England in the Fall. Highly recommended - fantastic in the fall and then later, I can only imagine what it looks like covered in snow during winter when the area becomes a skiing destination. You will not be disappointed😀

After 24 hours of biblical rain and warm temps in January near 60 we approached our day of skiing with anxiety! We were peasantry surprised by the solid conditions at Stowe. The trials were tuned up as well as they could have been and the lifts were humming and moving the mlk weekend traffic up at blazing speed! Overall a very nice experience and I am looking forward to skiing here during more normal conditions!

I’ve been to a lot of the mountains in the northeast but I’ve never seen anything like this one. It is a luxury mountain and everything runs smoothly and professionally. All the facilities are gorgeous.
The only downside is it is not a beginner mountain. There are only 2 bunny hills and they are crowded. There is a big leap in difficulty to the “Toll Road” trail which is very long and narrow.
It was our kids’ first time skiing and the all day lesson was great but I think we will be choosing a mountain with more true beginner terrain for their next time on the slopes. Once they improve, we will definitely return to Stowe.

My family has been going to Stowe Mountain resort over the years. The pool is quite old and in need of renovation, our room had 2 double beds rather than 2 queens this time, there is no coffee or water available in the lobby, the spa prices have doubled since Covid, and they do not have a good system for people to store their ski gear. My husband’s boots were taken from the ski valet area and they told us they aren’t responsible for anything. Very unhappy with this time. Extremely overpriced for subpar service.

I didn't stay here, but I did visit and took the gondola ride to the summit of Masfield Mountain. Beautiful views of the Green Mountains. I shopped in the gift shop there as well which had a nice variety. Enjoyed watching the zipliners go down the mountain as well.

Great Resort but the mountain was a Disaster. Only 2 lifts one of which was the quad which had issues. Plenty of fresh powder but trails were not groomed the night prior. For the price you pay stay away. The staff at the mountain repeatedly stated they were not prepared for the early snow? With a mountain this size and no flexibility in lift ticket prices they should have their act together. Also beware, their website stated 4 lifts which was not accurate.

The resort has everything - great for kids, wonderful atmosphere for strolling about and of course if you ski (I don't) there's something for all levels of skiers. The food scene ranges for all appetites and price ranges. The resort and restaurant staff is friendly and helpful and the surroundings are beautiful.

Great ride up the mountain on the Gondola. Views up the mountain and from the top we’re spectacular. Ride was $29 each for an adult. Lots of walking trails for those who are interested.

Took skiing lessons. They were supposed to be for beginners, but only two out of 8 of us were really beginners. Lesson ended up being focused on those who had skied before. Waste of a lot of money!

So it's April and we are definitely into spring. Although the chilly weather would say otherwise as well as the remaining expensive lift tickets cost at Stowe. Only a few lifts running. April fools on us. At least the parking was great and the customer service outstanding.

Clean comfortable rooms and helpful staff. Close to everything. Nicely appointed kitchenette. Nice DVD library to sign out.

The staff at Stowe are all very friendly. They smile, take their time, and seem like genuinely nice folks. However, they move like molasses in the winter time and don't seem to know anything about Stowe. They have too few staff at every ticket counter area. There are lines for tickets, for lessons, and other administrative tasks and the clerks chat with the current customer about nonsense (not about the resort). One time, I had to wait in line to address a lift ticket issue, and when I got to the front of the line, the clerks got up, turned off the lights, and went home. Yes. They saw me waiting, but went home.
Nobody seems to know how to use their computer system. The signage directs you to the wrong places for things. For example, if you follow the road signs for children's programs and lessons drop off area, you end up in the wrong place. You need to instead find the adventure center, which has no signs. Who thought of that?
They have an ice rink with no visible way to rent skates. There are very few restaurants (though the food was beautifully presented).
The spruce area is gorgeous but lacking life. Where are the outside bands? Where are the stores to shop in? You get much more of a village experience at Mt. Tremblant a few hours up the road.
On the plus side, the conditions for skiing are great, parking is easy, there are short lift lines, and it's beautiful. On the negative side, it's crazily expensive (though that must limit the lines), and they haven't figured out customer service yet. Wifi is also very slow.
Looking through the recent reviews, this appears to be a consistent theme. Hey management team, are you reading these?

The spa at Spruce Peak is great for massages and the gondola ride to the top is worth it for the beautiful view

If your looking for a true 5 star experience in every way, shape and form, look no further. My wife and I spent three nights recently, and we’re highly impressed with every faze of this gem.

The weather wasn't ideal for our visit, but the grooming staff did a great job with ice, rain, and unseasonably warm and cold temperatures - all within the course of a week! Huge ski area with something for everyone.

Came back to one of my favorite resorts in the country and sat down at the hourglass bar and was instantly greeted by Chris, Buck and Tyler. In my experience, it is always a rare and special feeling when employees at a restaurant remember your name from one prior interaction.
I was recommended to pair the cheese platter and stout by Buck and was blown away - one of the best pairings I have ever tasted. Subsequent to that, Tyler and Chris asked if i'd like to try anything else - and I responded, "sushi". I asked for their favorites and they recommended the rainbow roll and yellow sub! First, I'm a first timer for Yellow Sub, and I must say, this is my top 3 roll of all time! For someone who was raised in Japan, then moved to NYC, that is very impressive. The Rainbow roll was absolutely exquisite too!
Some of the best service and food in the state and I will continue to visit! Thanks

We were there for a few days after our wedding just to relax. There was no special treatments for us. The staff was mostly kind, but some were somewhat rude. Most of the amenities and restaurants were closed. Although the resort was empty, we got a room with parking view. We asked to change and were transfered to another room with parking view. We ordered in-room food from the restaurant Soltice. It was not good and very expensive. We definitely didn’t get enough for the 500$/night it costs. Would not return in summer time. Would consider a smaller B&B that would likely offer a much better experience.

Stowe Mountain Resort is a beautiful facility right at the base of Mt Mansfield. You can access a gondola right outside the hotel door to take you over to the mountain and shops/eating places are right on site. There's a little bar on the second level of the lobby which is a nice place to relax and get a drink. The only downside is that you will pay a lot for the location but if your wallet can absorb the price, then it's a fine choice. Tip: Try checking prices of VRBO as they can be 10% less than if you book directly through the Resort.

We found the resort has multiple runs of all ski levels with a nice transition from Blue runs to Black runs.
I would recommend doing a Stowe & Okemo 3 days each ski vacation between Christmas & New Years for all EPIC ski pass holders.

Stayed in a Penthouse for the weekend. The concierge staff was very attentive and great. Added bonus was the daily breakfast and Saturday night wine & cheese

Sooo many rude staff.. the lines were crazy ( 2 hrs for a ticket) unacceptable. No one acknowledged it - conditions were poor prices astronomical

Our group came to ski in early March. I was disappointed that the Toll House mountain was not open as we had a couple skiers that needed the easier terrain. They don't even make snow over there which seems odd to me. Don't they want new skiers to come along? The rest of the mountain was harder than some east coast mountains but I would say a good place for intermediate to expert skiers just not beginners who are trying to build their confidence.

We rode the gondola to the top of the mountain, with our dog. I don't know what I liked better, the ride or the view. The staff are friendly and helpful. This is the best thing we did in Vermont.

Stowe's terrain is great and typically you will only find high-quality skiers off the Mansfield quad, as many intermediates and beginners stay over on the Gondi side or at Spruce. Post-Vail acquisition, not a lot has changed but the conditions were quite good during several visits, during significantly different weather patterns. The Den at the base of the quad is awesome - old, traditional, unchanging (for the better), and typically causes those who want to be seen, rather than ski and apres, to go back to the Stowe Mountain Lodge. The bar scene is locals, and those who come for skiing, and the bartenders have been there for years and do a great job. - tip Wili well!

We went to Stowe with our family for a few days to snowboard. I used to go to Stowe all the time and it was always a quaint mountain with a home town feel. However, since Vail has taken over the customer service has gone down hill horribly. They even told me since Vail took over there is nothing they can do to help me. I spent over $750 for 3 of us to snowboard for 2 days! That is not counting the $630 I spent for 2 nights at the Stowe Mountain Lodge. The room was worth the money, it was beautiful. The boarding was horrible and they kept "Hot listing" my son's RFID lift pass so we had to walk down the mountain to the "customer service" a couple times. This took over an hour out of our already short day. They were incredibly miserable to deal with, which is very unusual. Usually everyone at ski mountains are pretty cool. I give them a 1 star we will NEVER go back, good chance I may boycott Vail and the Epic pass altogether since the miserable customer service reps told me this was corporate policy.

Great experience, worth all the time and money spent in it. Had a group class in skiing since it is my first time skiing ever, then took a break and had a coffee and a snack in one of many restaurant in the resort. Definitely will come back.

My husband and I went skiing here for one day in December after not having been skiing in 12 years. We rented skis from the Demo Center which was slightly more expensive than the regular rental center but my husband read they had better equipment and they took their time with us to make sure everything fit right and said we could come back and change out our skis for different skis as many times as we wanted. I think the main point to renting from the demo center is to try out different skis which we didn't end up doing but the staff was very nice, knowledgable, and helpful. We were there on December 23rd and it wasn't that crowded. Definitely a decent amount of people but never crowded. We never waited in a line other than briefly at the gondola. I dont know if it was because of the flooding that happened earlier in the week or 2 days prior to Xmas but it was not crowded. Even though a lot of rain had flooded the area on the previous Monday and washed away a lot of snow there was still a lot of trails opena dn they had made plenty of snow. Sadly a lot of the green trails that wander around the edge of the mountain were closed but there was still plenty of trails open. The food in the lodge was insanely expensive. Im sure it's standard at this point but it was sticker shock after not having been skiing in 12 years. We had some snacks but held off on lunch to go to a restaurant after we were finished with the mountain. The only thing that really stunk abut the day is we had to pay $30 for parking which we didn't expect. They charge for Fridays, weekends and holidays so that was an unpleasant surprise. Otherwise we had a fantastic time.

Waited nearly 50 minutes to simply buy one day ski passes. Computers slow and not enough terminals given the crowd but delay was greatly enhanced by each person being asked for their names address , etc. I asked if we were buying ski tickets or at Radio Shack. I refused to give my email address. The on-line pick up line was nearly as long. Just inexcusable. And terrible.

Being on the East Coast, it is sometimes difficult to decide on where to go skiing. (Especially after going to Jackson Hole!) We went to Stowe as a family trip, and we will be going back every year from now on. Friendly and clean and a great mountain

Coming from a large ski area, was expecting it to be amazing but the entire resort and hills are absolutely breathtaking!

My husband and I had a great time snowboarding. It was not crowded and there are many lifts. The facilities are great and the employees pleasant. Definitely will return.

Our first visit here & it’s a disappointment.
Ice skating, closed. Rock wall, closed. Indoor pool, tiny.
Def not a 4 star hotel.
Room we’re in has stained furniture & torn rug.
Our overpriced breakfast was cold.
Our dinner waiter was rude.
Front desk staff give conflicting information... no one knows anything and it’s shocking to me at this price point. The old adage you get what you pay doesn’t hold true here.
Wouldn’t recommend.

What a surprise. Short lines, happy staff who all love to serve. Very helpful, especially given that I skied with my 2 young grandchildren. Slopes were left alone after a big storm so I could enjoy the powder the first day, followed by all trails groomed to corduroy the next morning. Love Stowe.

One of my bucket list items was a gondola ride and I honestly had no idea what to expect. My sons fiancé and my friend took me to the top of the mountain and it was amazing. Next year..... the adventure park!

The hotel and grounds are beautiful. They offer outside games as well as fire pit and pools year round. We used the golf course which has amazing views. Close to activities, brewery’s and restaurants. The staff was great! We planned on leaving for dinner and ended up staying because we enjoyed the atmosphere and food. The bartenders and waitstaff were excellent! We wanted to watch the Patriots game Sunday night and they stayed open for us to finish watching the game. Also let us turn the volume up and move tables together to make it more comfortable. Our new go to in Vermont!

Have done a few resorts around the place. Never with this many people and so much ice. If you're an intermediate / beginner skier then this is the place for you. Not recommended for boarders or park rats, as there is only 1.5 low quality parks. The terrain is great and the runs are extensive. Be prepared for many hesitant skiers to be stopped at the top of steeper icier sections having Committee meetings about how to get down. Chairlifts will be stopped with monotonous regularity for the gapers who can't ride them. The staff are lovely and the shops / restaurants great. Avoid weekends as they are crazy busy.

Our very first trip to Stowe, VT and when you are paying $435 for a private snowboard lesson, $130 for a lift ticket and $150 for your rental equipment, you would expect better service when you go to get your rental gear counter! No, instead we got abrasive, unfriendly guys at the rental equipment (board/boots/bindings) area who were rushing us through without explaining anything. These guys have been skiing/boarding their entire life. They understand the equipment and the mountain better than anyone yet they were rushing through the line like cattle and did not even explain how things worked. Their attitude was nasty and very unfriendly. I don't mind paying EXTREMELY high prices but I expect a MUCH BETTER level of service if I am going to pay this amount of money for one day on the mountain! In all of Stowe, everywhere else we went people were very helpful and friendly EXCEPT at the rental gear shop at Spruce Base Camp on the Plaza. Shame on these guys -- they could be the BEST ambassadors of Stowe and the warm Vermont hospitality. It was our only BAD experience in all of Stowe. It was awful. Next time I will have all of our equipment delivered to the ski valet at Stowe Mountain Lodge so I NEVER had to deal with the guys at Spruce Base Camp again!

Staff was very friendly. Sara in the car was extremely helpful and very accommodating. Disappointing that signs weren’t up of pancake house closed. Also, dining room was very expensive with mediocre server.

Expensive but worth it. Nice to have some of the amenities such as fine dining, excellent service, and a variety of activities right on the premises. I am usually a pretty thrifty skier but sometimes its nice to splurge a little.

I agree with many who claim Stowe is best in the east. My first visit here. As an intermediate level senior skier, I couldn't have been happier. Midweek skiing comes with no lift lines and well-maintained runs. Many, many fast, fun and challenging blues are there to be conquored. The staff is well trained and very friendly.

My family and I visited Stowe Mtn for the first time this past weekend, where we skied for two days (Thursday and Friday). The mountain is absolutely beautiful, and had runs for every level of skier to choose from and enjoy. My family and I as we had young children with average level stayed on the intermediate and easy runs (our favorite being Toll Road). The gondalas were exciting, and the views from the top, I was in awe.
The runs themselves were long and allowed one to truly take your time and enjoy just being out in the snow.
The lodges had a wide variety of food for all to choose from. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, as a first time visitor I had a lot of questions.
We will be going back for sure!

We visited in the summer time so we cannot comment on the skiing experience. The hotel was beautiful and the views were breathtaking. Everyone was super nice. I only wish that there were more village activities planned. I guess it is a bit ghost town-ish in the summer which is both good and bad. ;)

This resort gets points for crowd management. Lines were manageable at ticket counter, rental shop and lift lines. our rental gear was waiting for us when we showed up. Good diverse series of trails on the mountain. Weather was bad, but we still enjoyed our day. Good soup at the Octagon Cafe.

A great resort with fantastic amenities and fun. Charming architecture and great food and drink. Bring you wallet though!

The ski resort is great! Good places to eat (a larger and service tray restaurant with good hot food and quick service) and other minor restaurants such as the Skinny Pancake which serves amazing soups, paninis and of course pancakes! Most ingredients are organic and from VT producers.
The Stowe also has fine restaurants such as the Cliff House Restaurant located on the shoulder of Mt Mansfield.
About ski/snowboard classes:
- Book early - it gets full really fast! Specially the kids classes!
- Great instructors! You’re a newbie? No worries - they will teach you how to control and as you evolve your practice you will be more confident and able to explore more trails!
- You can rent all equipment at the rental center (new and good conditions equipments available)!
- You may also buy some more personal items such as Goggles/Helmets.
- You may have private classes or Mountain Clinics (I took the mountain clinics and in two days I’ve learned the snowboarding basics!)
- Kids bellow 5 must take private classes
- Don’t buy the lift pass if you intend to take the mountain clinics or kids classes! It is already included in the package.
- Plan in advance... there are a lot to explore and depending on your plans, an EpicPass may be a better deal!

Just got a Ku Nye treatment at the spa. Laura was amazing, clearly experienced and knowledgeable about the treatment. It was unbelievably relaxing, and yet felt like I had a good workout at the same time. Practically an out of body experience, would absolutely recommend and am definitely going to go again at some point! Kendal at front desk was very friendly and helpful, too. Thank you!

Stowe mountain is a rip-off. Advertised 4 lifts for 2 of the days I was there. In reality — only 1 quad on each side was running. Guess the magic carpet and the mini gondola that transports you across the road count as “lifts”. Trails were not groomed properly until Friday morning in preparation for the weekend. For the price of the lift ticket I expected much more than 2 lifts. The main quad on the left side of the mountain had issues and was running on and off. Staff stated they were not prepared for the big snow they received? If the mountain is operating in “low budget mode” (which it definitely was), with minimal open trails and lifts, then the price of lift tickets should reflect that. Come to find out that Stowe/Vail cut the employee’s access to the opening and closing days of the season shows them as a money hungry business. A privilege those employees have had for years. Vail’s only concern is profit, not with employee or customer satisfaction. The recent reviews speak for themselves and the unhappy skiers/boarders on the mountain shared my feelings.

The conditions were incredible. Twenty runs netting 32,600 feet vertical between 8 am and noon. No lines but well attended. Twenty five to thirty five degrees on their recent 14 inches allowed me to master lift line’s double black diamond on my on my second run, but by my twentieth run, it was mastering me. The bacon egg and cheese muffin for $7 at 7:45 filled me from my 180 mile, two hours and forty minute drive. The rest of the mountain could have been open, but my legs wouldn’t have let me stay any longer. See you next week or next year depending on rain/snow this weekend.

If you can afford to stay in this wonderful resort, you should. Look nowhere.
Has great skating rinks, beginners skiing place and several shops for little something as memories.

So my brothers and I have skied there many times---Nose Dive ain't nothin' when you are young and crazy but when you are on the downside to 69 you think twice! Except for the long wait lines which are not unusual at Eastern ski resort Stowe is a bucket list location for nay worldly skier or just a beginner or even that person who only wants a nice gondola ride to the top to see what its all about!

Had lunch several times at the top of the mountain. Kind of expensive when you add in the gondola ride. They should do a lunch/ride deal during the summer.

Advance ticket pricing is ~$100 per day, which is only slightly less than what it costs to ski at much nicer resorts. Our party spanned a wide range of ski skills, and it became quickly apparent that there were very few trail options for beginner skiers.
I enjoyed the skating rink, which was very well-maintained, but note that you can only rent hockey skates. If you are a figure skater, consider bringing your own (and skate for free!).

Best ski in the north east, with a well thought out village plan. This place is a great family friendly option for all ages, MUST visit.

This was everything my wife and I were looking for in a babymoon: awesome pool for day-long relaxation, easy access to the wonderful town of Stowe full of restaurants and cute shops, and the rooms were spacious (classic room).

A group of us had a week ski trip at Stowe and the ski conditions could not have been better. I rented my equipment with Epic and the staff was exceptional. My two friends brought their own gear. The staff were friendly, lifts ran smoothly and slope conditions were well maintained. Bring your own gear or rent and you will have a great ski experience. ⛷️

Enjoyed skiing here. Good was good at lodges. Resort could use a few more lifts for amount of terrain.

This review is not a degradation of the kind, amiable, hard working staff on Stowe Mountain. It is meant to point out that the cost and experience of riding the summer gondola are pretty terrible. You drop 27.00 an adult and 20.00 a child to ride up a very warm gondola overlooking vistas one could enjoy at just about any drive around Stowe. When you get to the top, you look out, smile for a photo and quickly realize there is nothing to do up there. An overpriced restaurant and some wide gravel-covered snowless ski slopes are all you paid for. There are no real trails. We were really disappointed. A family of four is definitely better off spending the 100.00 elsewhere. Vermont is loaded with a variety of vistas a short hike can provide.

I scheduled a private lesson for my husband to learn to ski from 1-4pm. Then, on the day of the lesson, it was going to be dangerously cold, so cold in fact that every mountain but Stowe never opened and Stowe never opened any lifts to the top of the mountain, closed all mid mountain lifts a few hours later and then closed the entire mountain at around 2 pm (an hour into the scheduled lesson).
In the morning we called and emailed to cancel because of the dangerous temperatures. Stowe has a strict 48 hour cancellation policy for lessons. We tried to reschedule (not cancel) and they said we would still have to pay for 1/2 the lesson because we canceled (despite their policy clearly stating cancellation fee, not rescheduling fee).
The reason given is that the teacher was still going to be there for the entire time and should be paid, fine, but he could not have been. The mountain was closed. The lesson could not have happened because the mountain was literally closed for at least half of the scheduled time because of the dangerous temperatures.
TLDR: they made us pay for 1/2 of a lesson that could not have happened because the weather was literally too cold and the mountain was closed.

We spent sometime snowboarding at snow in early March. Even though it was later in the season, the trails were still well groomed and most were still open. The climbers right side of the mountain had an amazing amount of powder. We almost forgot we were on the east coast. It was light foot deep powder. It was some of the beat snowboarding conditions we have ever experienced on the east coast. The rest of the mountain was more groomed and less powder. We werent sure if it was due to more use or if weather conditions were so different the night before between the different sides of the mountain. Eitherway it was a very enjoyable experience. Stowe has always been one of our favorite places to go to on the east coast.

I've been coming here every year since 2010. Vail Destinations recently purchased the mountain. What!? I think their customer service was so bad that another resort in another STATE had to purchase their mountain. Heather, a manager in the ski area, is a poor excuse for customer service.
Save your money. Go to Whistler. Anywhere but here. Will not be coming back.

An amazing skiing experience on powder snow even though there were icy patches on some of the harder trails. Toll Road was a personal fav. Spruce side was really crowded but otherwise great experience.

The Stowe Mountain Resort hotel provided valet parking, which was, on this occasion, a complementary service. The check in procedure was efficient, albeit a tad robotic and impersonal and lacked any information about the hotel.
Whilst our room had a decent sized balcony overlooking the pool, the safe was so high in the wardrobe that my wife couldn’t use it.
Might be worthwhile staying in either summer or skiing season but just after Columbus Day only the hotel is open, all of the other adjacent locations are owned by the hotel group and are closed, this forces customers to use their overpriced restaurant or to eat from the underwhelming Hourglass bar where the waiter service was the worst we experienced during our 16 day road trip. The bar wasn’t busy, only 3 tables were occupied, but despite this our waiter gave us next to no time to study the menu then, when the food arrived, the plates were almost thrown onto our table and the waiter disappeared as quickly as he could, we weren’t asked if we wanted anything additional. When the waiter returned to remove our plates he snatched them from us and in the process hurt my wife’s arthritic hand, all because he was rushing, had no finesse and obviously didn’t want to provide any kind of quality service.
Despite the foregoing, the hotel was reasonable but, as far as we could ascertain, didn’t offer much in the way of additional facilities. We got the impression that it is geared towards people who want to ski all day and simply use the hotel as a base to drink, sleep and use the swimming pool. The hotel was a bit too clinical for our liking and, with only one apparent large lounge, didn’t have a cozy atmosphere.
Will try somewhere else next time.

The views from the resort are only equalled by the views from the golf course. Walking trails that wind through the property are well cared for; the hot tubs, spa, healing center and pool kept us busy. My wife enjoyed a soothing foot massage with pedicure at the spa while I swam laps. The wood and stone structures that make up the guest quarters and shops create a lovely city with a European flare. You can satisfy your cravings and find gifts for those you left at home at the many small shops where you receive personal attention. We enjoyed cookies, maple of course, in the lobby when returning at night; the recipe was provided of course!

Gondola ride to the top was amazing. We didn’t get perfect weather but still enjoyed it. There was light rain at the bottom when we started up and about halfway up it began to snow. By the time we got to the top there was snow on the ground and clinging to all the pine trees, it was beautiful. We walked around for awhile and watched some people zip line. Had we been prepared for snow we would have stayed up there a lot longer. Would do it again.

Reading some of the reviews, I think I lucked out as I had a slow day and purchased the card I needed quickly. But I could see the issues building up with their lift card system. It takes way too long to register day passers (and adds extra money on an already high lift ticket price). I miss the old hanging lift ticket purchased like a movie ticket. It was faster than this. I might as well have been standing in line at the airport booking a ticket .
To get the lift card for me wasn't terrible, I was in line maybe 30 minutes and it took 15 minutes to get the ticket. But again, the old way it took only as long as the bank took to process my card and print the ticket. When I came off the mountain and met some of my group at Spruce Peak the line was crazy.
I get the concept of the card, but the check-in process and disorganization of the whole operation makes it very difficult, even for people like me who had a shorter line. I will be back when I hear that they've worked the kinks out.

My BFF and I took a ride on the gondola ride and had a great time! It was an awesome experience! And so romantic!

The resort was super nice one of the best ski resort we have visited.
Love the ice skating arena really fun and well kept, the ski areas are well groomed and they are amazing.
Employees speak different languages wish is really nice the only downside one of the employees at the ski rental area smelled so bad I almost vomited, he smell like he haven’t shower since winter started. I know in some cultures showers are not a big thing but when you work helping clients the company should make them shower and have nice hygiene.
The other downside was a little difficult to find the actual rental place we where in the building but could not find it, we ask an employee and he give us a super complicated directions instead of telling us behind us.

It’s difficult to refer to Stowe as a resort. True resorts offer a myriad of activities while Stowe relies on skiing as it’s ‘be all end all’ and if you don’t ski you better enjoy reading.
It’s sad to see a former skiing icon of the East resting on its laurels. While the service quality is suffering mightily, Stowe’s pricing resembles the “good old days.”
I am befuddled as to why Vail thought Stowe was such a great deal. I’m sure it’s above my pay grade.
You will notice that I didn’t comment on the broken gondola and the unusable ice rink when we were there. Those are unfortunate events for sure but you should not judge Stowe for those types of events unless they are constant and/or ignored.
In short, Stowe = 5 pounds of old, over priced manure in a 10 pound bag.

We visited Stowe Mountain Resort on a very busy MLK weekend. We stayed 20-30 minutes from the mountain. Getting to and from the mountain was a traffic nightmare. On early Sunday morning it took two of our family members 2 1/2 hours to get to the mountain. We left later in the morning and it took us well over an hour. By the time we got to the parking lot, it was full. We got lucky and were able to get a spot as someone was leaving. Finding a table in the overcrowded lodge was another challenge. Lift tickets, food and beverages are expensive, as expected at any resort. Lodges are modern and beautiful. My advice is to avoid skiing on a holiday weekend, but if you do, go early!

Great mountain that does a lot to make sure the skiers/boarders and guests are happy. From the great village, to the gondola. All is good at Stowe.

My son is in the US Navy and was told when booking the lift ticket to come back at the end of the weekend for his military refund of $100. He purchased a 2-day weekend lift ticket in December, when prices were lower, in advance for our trip in February. When he went back for what he was previously told would be a $100 refund, he only received $30. The explanation was that it didn’t matter what prices were when he purchased, the discount was based on market prices in February not December! A total scam!

Varied trails. Plan your day so you don't do any unnecessary walking from area to area. Always looks easy on the map.

Wife did a zip ride and I did a gondola ride. People were really nice and helpful, especially a gentleman named Will. I really think that makes all the difference. Both of us had a great time. Thanks.

Great Ski in Ski out at Mansfield Estates. Quality VRBO and accomodations. COVID caused for typicall lodge time and night life to suffer but made due with older family members and friends and focus on skiing.

The staff at Stowe were stellar! It was the busiest weekend of the year, the crowds were packed and people’s behavior was absurd, but every single staff member I interacted with was the epitome of calm, cool and collected, and incredibly helpful!

Last year my wife and I celebrated our Anniversary at this grand resort. We were so moved and delighted by our visit that we returned there this past September. I am happy to report that our 5 star visit last year was not a fluke. Our visit this past September was as nice and , in some ways, superior to our last visit. I can not recommend this resort enough if your are truly looking for a relaxing and peaceful visit in beautify Vermont.

Enjoy short lines, and long Cruises. Spent the day here. I ran out of time. Came up with the family for Christmas. Assuming there’s no crowds, this was a treat.

The resort is really well maintained and beautiful. The solstice restaurant does not offer a great breakfast and the prices were too high for the quality of food or choices for breakfast. However the rest of the resort is just beautiful.

I approved of my teenage son (age 18) taking friends up to Stowe for a day of early season skiing in mid-December. Most unexpectedly, they found the lift ticket was an astonishing $130, which was an undisclosed 30% premium over the published online price. How is one to know? Having shelled out for the lift ticket, the boys had no money left for food. I called to complain and was put on indefinite hold. I eventually disconnected and tried called back, and found the customer service center was not taking more calls.
I checked online and nearby Sugarbush was charging $80 at the mountain on the same date.

This was our second time at Stowe. We went last year, but the conditions weren’t good so we decided to give it another chance this year. As a family of 2 young snowboarders and 2 skiers (parents), we weren’t all that impressed. It just felt a little overhyped. There were way too many flat spots where we had to pull our snowboarders, especially at the base to get to the Fourrunner Quad lift from anywhere. You really had to keep your speed or you were skating quite a bit. I don’t know how this is acceptable and have never experienced this at any other resort. A lot of the big runs were serviced by this lift, but I wanted to avoid having to take it. The gondola is a novelty and not necessary. It takes forever to load and a long time to get to the summit. Also, not sure how they decide what to groom/not groom. The first day we were there, Hayride, which was one of our favorite runs the year before, was very cut up, like moguls the whole way. That night, we got 3 inches of snow and we were excited for a nicely groomed Hayride, but they did not groom it. Instead, the moguls were covered by powder and you had no idea when you were going to hit a packed mogul under the powder. All in all, our family had fun, but we do not plan to return.

We came here off season but there still was plenty to do here and in the surrounding areas. The hotel itself and our room were great. The only problem was that one night there was bad weather so we ate at the hotel restaurant and my meal was pretty bad.

I grew up loving Stowe and was incredibly disappointed when my friends' and my MLK weekend trip experience at Stowe was awful from start to finish. Many of the issues were beyond Stowe's control - a bus accident cause stopped traffic coming into the resort and crowding and lines to get rentals and tickets - but a lot of it could have been alleviated by better customer service and organization at Stowe. When we finally arrived at Stowe to get our rentals, after hours of waiting in the car (when the drive should have been 30 min), one of our friends was told she had to split up from us to get hers because she reserved online and needed to go to the other lodge. It makes no sense that this was necessary - it was the same gear. Once we finally got our rentals, I went to get the tickets which we had pre-ordered and had to wait in the same line that made the whole lodge look like a mosh pit. There should be two separate lines - one for those that pre-order and one for those that haven't. A staff member told me I could go to the other lodge to get the tickets, so I ran over after having difficulty finding the proper shuttle because nothing was marked and the shuttle drivers did not even know where we should wait. Once at the other lodge, the line was still incredibly long and it was only when another customer told me I could go to the Adventure area and get my tickets there did I finally find a spot where I could pick up my tickets. There should have been better signage. We finally got on the mountain at 1 pm - and the mountain closes at 4. My friend's rental bindings did not fit her boot - even though the rental guys assured her it would be fine - and she had to go back inside for an adjustment. Finally, we were stuck on a lift in negative degree weather for about 20 minutes with no explanation and no apology. I understand things happen, but your customer service should not respond to feedback with a copy and pasted blurb about how that day was just really busy for them and explaining the same issues I already experienced and noted for them first hand, and without offering any compensation or personalized apology. I was extremely disappointed that the place I loved as a child is no longer a great place to ski and will be going to Killington which I went to later in the weekend and loved from now on.

Beautiful resort. I went to see the fall foliage instead of the snow and it was breathtaking. I definitely recommend visiting there

If you live in the northeast and want a place comparable to out west but don’t want to travel far, Stowe is the place for you. I visited previously and was happy to return. Great skiing, great service — was pleased to see a familiar face — shoutout to Billy in concierge for making my stay another memorable experience. If you are staying at or visiting the lodge, stop by concierge and ask for Billy for the best local ski tips.

My first visit to Stowe was greeted with the fine staff at the resort bar Hourglass. Got in late Friday night for a weekend filled with skiing with friends. The food and beverage selection was spot on (meatballs!!) and the service superb!! Wouldn’t have asked for a better entry to a winter weekend getaway. Thanks Hourglass staff you guys rock! See you next time.

Ridiculously overpriced. Have ridden it several times in the past. Apparently, once Vail Resorts purchased Stowe in 2017, the prices went through the roof. It was $85 for 2 adults. Absolutely insane and they should be ashamed. Never again.
Only redeeming quality is that it's pet friendly.

There was no line going up but coming down we had a 20 minute wait. We ate lunch at the summit. The food was good. We got in without a reservation on a weekday. The view was beautiful!!

We are currently at Stowe Mountain Lodge for the long weekend. There are quite a few things going for it - amazing location, comfortable rooms, good spa. The ski valet is quite helpful as well. However, the dining situation, particularly breakfast is highly inefficient. There’s always a long wait for meals DESPITE half the tables being empty. How long does it take to turn tables around? We observed this same routine each day after we sat down for our meals: many tables open around us and a long line of people outside. If it’s the staff, get more staff!! We also weren’t allowed to use the lounge area while waiting even though a few lounge seats were open because there was a “waiting list for it”. Ridiculous.

The staff was great
Easy parking
Great views at the top
The negative;
The window on the actual gondola are so distorted with scratches and damage that it’s impossible to take photos from the gondola itself. See my photos for my review.
Incredibly disappointing that so much discharge with no clear view. Very misleading

This has to be one of the worst visits I’ve had anywhere in the world. Firstly far too many people were allowed in causing enormous queues. Some people looked in distress due to the cold conditions, and it felt like a long passport line at an airport. Yes it was a bank holiday in Vermont. So I should have expected it.
The gondola ride itself was awesome as were the views but as soon as we got to the top there was a sign saying last gondola 430pm which worried me as we were already late up. We then literally had to go back in another massive queue to get back, was even colder. It got to 430 but fortunately the gondolas kept coming.
The organisation was appalling and it felt more about corporate greed than having a good experience. Would not recommend visiting on a busy fall weekend.

Dear travelers
The most scenario I had seen, for a while in my life!
You should ride a gondola until the top of the mountain!
Wear boots because the snow is so wet, but the view....

The skiing is amazing, so I checked out the gondola ride to the top in the summer.
They are dog friendly, so I brought my best friend with me.
There’s lots to sniff and explore up top. Make sure your dog is leashes because there are wild animals around. If you have a dog harness, clip his leash to that instead of the collar. Makes it easier for you to help if his hesitates getting in or out of the gondola!
Allow plenty of time to explore. The staff is dead serious about the time of the last ride down!

We did the gandola ride n had lunch at the resort too. Nice place. The stay is comfortable. Views are nice.

I took a late March Ski Trip to Stowe. The resort is incredibly overcrowded on weekends. The Parking Lot fills up as early as 8:00 AM on weekends. It took me over an hour to find a parking space on a Sunday Morning at 9:00 AM. I suggest that you park at the parking lot located at the Toll House Double Lift in order to ensure an early parking space on weekends.
The liftlines are unreasonably long. They need to add another high speed quad at the Mount Mansfield Base Lodge. The resort has become very overpriced and very unfriendly to budget skiers since it was bought by Vail Resorts. The Lift Tickets are overpriced for what you get. You should purchase your lift tickets online at least one week in advance in order to get a reasonable deal.
The positive side is that Stowe has the most interesting and varied terrain of all of the Eastern Resorts. Stowe is the most quintessential authentic New England Ski Town. Mount Mansfield has the most beautiful scenery in New England. The resort also has good snowmaking and grooming.

Great hotel , with all the amenities . Great gym , if you need it after a hard days skiing . Pool big enough to swim laps , heated of course with 2 jacuzzis .
Solstice resteraunt is good , although with it being the only resteraunt at the resort , except for the food available at the bar outside , they need to have more specials to keep you interested . I would suggest that a car is a must so that you can access the Resteraunt’s and bars in Stowe a quick 10 minute drive away . Another neat feature is the Mercedes cars that are available for 2 hours use at no charge . The week we were there it was very quiet and we had no trouble booking one , but I would imagine when they are busy it would be different story. The skiing is great with plenty of variety , but as is the mountains the weather can change very quickly . We skied her because we were visiting our daughters in NYC for Christmas , and if you are thinking of a Christmas in New York , a week at Stowe prior would be great addition . They are also part of the epic ski pass , so great value if you normally ski Perisher back in Australia .

It was spring skiing so some of the mountain was closed and the snow was not great but I was impressed with the facilities overall and the amount of skiable terrain available when all the lifts and gondola are open. Easy, scenic drive out from Burlington. A lot of development going on so should only get better. Definitely worth a trip if on an Epic pass. Ski rentals are not inexpensive, however. I skied on a Monday so there wasn't anything going on for après or at the resort in general, so I can't comment on that scene.

I have skied in VT for many years. Stowe is a nice mountain with good range of trails but often has flat light with gray skies. We have been at the mountain twice this winter when lifts were closed due to high winds. As a result the lifts that were open had long lines during midweek. The lodge is very nice and the village of Stowe is very pleasant with many excellent restaurants and accommodations.

The hotel is nice and well kept. Housekeeping does a fantastic job. Rooms are ok, not very large but have nice amenities. The front desk was okay, they could have been nicer throughout our stay, especially as this is considered a luxury hotel. The outdoor pool is nice and great for kids as its only 5ft at its deepest point.

East Coast skiing can be a little tough as there isn't as much snow until later in the season but we were happy to find the conditions in January. Most of the mountain was open (90%) and all lifts were operating. There was a little ice but it was pretty warm in the 30s but we enjoyed our first trip out for the season.
The lifts are fast so you can spend more time on your skis and less time sitting on the lifts. Also the mountain is big enough so you don't feel like it's crowded. We like to meander around and challenge ourselves and this mountain has so many trails that you can take so many routes that each run is completely different.
If you are a beginner, this might not be the mountain for you as the runs can be lengthy and challenging. I am an intermediate skier and I really love this place. We have friends who are really experienced and everyone loves this place as they were able to go into the woods and try the ski park too.

My daughter and husband took group lessons at Stowe. It’s off peak so my daughter and another child had their own personal instructor for 7 hrs! Very good lesson which included snack, lunch & hot cocoa! They have her a report card at the end of the session. Andy from NY was her instructor...awesome young man. My husband had Alex as his instructor. He was very impressed with the lesson he received. The resort area is nice with a great food court with nice selections, gift shops and relaxing areas if your not skiing. Can’t wait to one back to Stowe Mtn.!

I went to Stowe for 2 years for ski and snowboard. I can tell you this is an amazing spot. It is not comparable to some of the resorts on the west coast but compares to the resort in VA, NH, MA. This is a gem. Because it's up north, good quality and amount of snow. The snow is very powder-ish, there are so many trails for you to choose. And the cool thing is, they have trails on each side of the mountain, so you can time the day well to get good light and nice temperature. The gondola and quad are very organized. The lift ticket per day is expansive, but since the organization is so well, i think it worth it.

End of season Spring 2018 mid-week ski trip to Stowe. Well worth the drive from Maryland. Classic Spring conditions, no lift-lines, very friendly and helpful staff. Best conditions on trails with snow-making that are regularly groomed. Purchased 3 days of tickets online in advance for best price and value. Mount Mansfield area is a plus with easy gondola cross-over, providing our family of mixed beginning to intermediate and advanced skiers one area with lifts that service trails suitable for each.

The gondola ride was expensive, $58 for the two of us. If you’ve never been in a gondola before or on a mountaintop it might be worth it.
There is a challenging hike from the gondola to the summit. Looks like it may take an hour? If we knew of the hike we would have worn hiking boots and proper clothing, brought water and snacks. The summit looked inviting.
The small restaurant at the top was nicely furnished and had great views. It was crowded, service slow, food fair and expensive. We had a Caprese Salad and Mac and cheese. There is also a small bar in the restaurant.

I’ve travelled to many ski resorts in Europe, out West, Canada, and Northeast. This is probably the most expensive of them all. But it’s not even close to as good. There are no epic glades, no amazing deep powder days, no epic apres ski. So what exactly am I paying for? North worth the effort. Killington is cheaper and better if you’re looking for something in the region.

We thoroughly enjoyed it. The fall foliage was at its peak, so the view of the colors and the scenery was fantastic. We were fortunate enough to ride the gondola by ourselves, and its fairly a long ride, so we had a blast. Not much at the landing at the top…small cafe, gift shop and a few areas where you can sit and/or take photos. There is a trail that you can hike to go higher and get a view of the Champlain Lake, but we didn’t have enough to time, so we skipped it. According to the staff, you’ll need sufficient time to make the hike. So we spent about 30 minutes at the top enjoying the view and then rode the gondola back. It was worth the price. Sufficient parking at the base, but it can get crowded, so go early in the morning or late in the afternoon during busy season.

We were only in Stowe for about a day and a half... I wish we had more time there! The resort was fun to ski and the lodge was perfect for our quick stay.

This was a random stop on our journey to look at the fall foliage and are glad we did. It was very busy but the operators were very organized and everything moved efficiently. Once at the top, the view was just beautiful. It was a clear day, mid 70’s so perfect for a day adventure in the mountains. I’m sure it’s beautiful when the snow falls too, which was expected just a few days after we passed through.

The green trails are very easy and there are many blue trails to try! I am a solid green and mid blue skier. The gondola to the summit is a MUST!! Take the trail to the far left when looking at the map if you’re a little nervous like me. The gondola trails had way more powder than far left trails!

Let me start off by saying that the resort and the skiing are top notch. This review pertains more to the customer service or in my case lack there of. Stowe utilizes what they refer to as an “evolution pass” for their lift tickets. You must create an account which then allows you to purchase the amount of ski days you want to load on the card. In addition, if you make your purchase 48 hours in advance of the actual ski days it is at a discounted rate. Having been at Stow several times in the past I knew this and tried to access my account several days before our trip. However, after several password resets and numerous attempts to log in I was unable. A few days later I was eventually able to access my account and purchased two separate 2 day ski passes. Now because I was within the 48 hour time frame I was charged significantly more for the tickets. However, I figured it would get it straightened out once I got to the resort. I explained my situation at check-in and was directed to guest services. Guest services advised me that there was nothing they can do and I would have to go online to tickets@stowe.com in order to rectify the issue. That evening I sent an email but never got a response. I then explained the situation to a person at the ticket counter two days later and was again directed to the website. A subsequent email was sent and still no response. Several days later Tammy from season pass & tickets emailed me stating she would forward this matter to her supervisor and asked that I “barre with them a little longer.” Well, that was over two weeks ago and still I have not received any type of response. Quite honestly, I am shocked at the horrendous customer service and lack of communication. Especially from a resort of this caliber.

Stowe is a premier skiing destination in the northeast in terms of size and quality of the trails. The issue I had on our last trip in December was with the full-day ski school for my 12 year old. She was put into a group based on her ability (as assessed by me). Unfortunately there was a child in the group that was not as capable as the rest of the group. According to Stowe's policy, there is a time during the first hour where the teachers are able to swap out a student when s/he does not fit in ability wise. I'm sure they could switch after that if they really wanted to; maybe at lunch. According to my daughter, her group had to keep stopping and waiting for this child, and they also did not get to do any challenging trails as a result of the lower skiing ability of this child. She had a very frustrating day, and a pretty expensive non-lesson. Maybe she could have practiced her form all day, when she couldn't go down the advanced trails, but come on. It needs to be fun, too. Why I didn't ask for a refund, I have no idea. Come on Stowe. Put the kids in the right groups, and switch them out if they don't fit. Maybe it's a pain, but it's the right thing to do. This is not the first time this has happened, but it is probably the worst.

Early Season 2021-2022 Review - Stowe is WAY overpriced and WAY outside of offering a good time and a relaxed atmosphere with COVID protocols that make no sense. Save your time & money and go to a resort that actually strives to make you feel better about being completely- financially taken advantage of. To the point of your visit … the skiing / boarding is ‘meh’ at best for New England.

My wife and I loved skiing Stowe! The best advice that I can give is to get there bright and early, park at the midway lodge, ski down to the four runner, hit that for the first hour, then hit the Gondola, and as crowds start to pile up then head over to Spruce peak via over easy transfer, and take the spruce lift to the sensation lift. 10/10 skiing!

We went cross country skiing with another couple using our own equipment. The scenery through the woods was beautiful. The employees at the center had the trails well groomed, provided a good map, and gave helpful advice. There were varied trails for different levels of skiers. The trails were well marked with signs. There were lessons available, but no one in our group needed to take them.

I had a good day on the mountain. It was a Monday, and no issues with crowds. I was able to get in several runs, making periodic use of the singles lines for the lifts (although it really wasn't needed). A gorgeous blue sky all day. My first time to Stowe. Most of the mountain was open, so plenty of room to explore. I was on a snowboard, and this was my first time...so I was not quite ready for the iciness just below the surface on multiple areas of the slopes. But otherwise all the runs were in good condition. They were making snow in some areas. It is nowhere near the size of a place like Vail (length and width of runs), but was plenty big for me to try out some new stuff with the board. My few interactions with staff were good. I had lunch (chili) up top at the Octagon Cafe. And made new friends over beer end of the day at the bottom in the Mansfield Lodge.

Took the gondola ride to the top of the mountain to view the fall foliage and it was not disappointing. Great staff, great ride, spectacular views.

What an awesome ski resort. I felt as if it was a small piece of Colorado in the East. We will return.

Most people probably come here in Winter, but Stowe is as charming in Summer. The gondola ride to the (almost) top of the mountain is breathtaking, and the hiking trails from there are a lot of fun. Some are trails very treacherous, so be sure to wear proper shoes and be in proper shape to hike them. The views are wonderful. I highly recommend Stowe.

We found the resort has multiple runs of all ski levels with a nice transition from Blue runs to Black runs. The resort has been modernized with a nice village and gondolas.
I would recommend doing a Stowe & Okemo 3 days each ski vacation between Christmas & New Years for all EPIC ski pass holders.

Great drinks, cheaper than I thought..7$ for a draft beer. We had the crab dip at the bar, Nik our bartender was great!

We took our 5 kids here today to do the zipline adventure. We weren’t sure about the weather but were treated with an incredible ride through the clouds!
We had sooo much fun and no one was scared. Our youngest is 12 and he did fine. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Darcy who found us wondering around the parking lot and Adam who helped us with our gear.
We highly recommend doing this! It’s a beautiful resort and cute town.

My girlfriend and I did a birthday weekend getaway to ski, eat, spa, shop and rest of course. The place is beautiful, clean, well set up and the people are ALL SO friendly and helpful. Matt in the ski/boot valet department was amazing, he is helpful, nice and funny. Didn't mind at all when we asked 50 questions. The spa is beyond wonderful, pricey but SO worth it. I plan on making this a yearly retreat on my birthday. Oh and the skiing was perfect. right balance of terrain, conditions were perfect. Lift attendants nice and lines very manageable.

This place is wonderful! Yes it is a bit expensive but the kids run free and the dogs are welcome!!!! And Billy at the concierge desk is amazing! He will let you know from which are the best slopes or places to run 🏃♀️. This is definitely the way to have fun during winter!!!!

A few issues but nothing major (ran out of kleenex and also had to ask for stir sticks) but the Lodge is superb if you're looking for a luxurious and popular place to stay at Stowe. Their Hourglass bar is very good, their spa is great, the gondola rides are fun, and their zip lining is absolutely awesome!

OK, first time visitor here. Wanted to do an honest review coming up from Maryland. First, the good: This place has tons of trails and a gondola. Highlights: taking the gondola up to the top of the Mount Mansfield and basically taking 6-7 blue trails down. I was so sore, but it was greatness. Also, stopping at the trick park off of Toll Road / Cutover Green and watching dudes do back flips and 720s. Super awesome. Finally - there's a fantastic green trail behind the Sunrise Lift called "Toll Road" that all new visitors should do right when they get to the resort.
Here's my not-so-good: The resort is so spread out you don't really know where to go first and it's so crowded with literally no guides that you have no clue where to go. One Epic Cashier lady told me to start over at "Spruce" which is their newer skiing area (seemed newer at least). Took my family 25 minutes to get over there and they were winded and pissed at me for the long trek on day one. I would have recommended starting on the Toll House Green on the main mountain first, then moving to the super high gondola ride, then doing Spruce runs on the last day. The other downside - I never got that feeling of being at a ski resort, crowded by awesome people drinking beers, with everyone having a jolly good time. Maybe I missed where this was all happening, but if you've been to the Foggy Goggle at Seven Springs, there was nothing like that at Stowe.
About the town of Stowe: There's no real grocery store or fast food options. Everything is niche and quaint. The markets are like convenience stores with wine and close at 7PM, so no late night ice cream for you! Also, the restaurants fill quickly, since there are so few, and you should book your reservations at least 24-48 hours in advance. We tried Piecasso and the place was a zoo.
One final thought: We passed Killington an hour before Stowe coming up from Maryland. Why I didn't just book Killington instead I don't know, but I think we'd opt for Killington next trip. It looked awesome and closer to MD. My kids grew up skiing Wisp (Maryland) and 7 Springs (PA), and they said both of those are more fun for them than Stowe.

Although Friday was a bit of a mess with the Mountain road closed for an hour sue to icing, the skiing at Stowe never disappoints. The staff at the scanners could be trained to be a bit more friendly.

I have been skiing Stowe in-frequently for almost 45 yrs. It's always been a BIG mountain, and now is a bigger resort destination. The Spruce Peak area adds a level luxury surely not seen at any other New England ski resort. If you want to feel like you're in Europe or the larger Western US resort go to Stowe. I met people from 5 different countries during one day! ...and if you want to see and feel what Stowe looked like 50 yrs ago, just keep your skiing on the Mt Mansfield side of resort and ski out of the Mt. Mansfield base lodge. Trails are long and I felt even some of the blue trails would have been a challenge for average intermediate level skiers. This is a skiers mountain! Be prepared for high costs to everything! It's just something Stowe is known for. Yes, my lady friend and I will forever have memories of the $24 pretzel we had the Whistle Pig Pavilion! It was incredible, but not worth $24, considering you actually only get 1/3 of the whole pretzel!

While you can't control the weather, the base area has several different "lodge/bar/food" spots from the original log lodge to a newer one with big windows & updated bar.

Suggest getting the Season pass if you can ski multiple weekends-the gondola never has too long a wait. The weekends can be busy, but it's a great mountain with lots of expert and intermediate trails

High winds shut down the gondola, and the chair lifts were pretty frigid. Staff were very helpful. Long, fast runs, pretty steep mountain overall. Would like to try again with more powder and warmer weather.

Terrible Resort. Main mountain lodge is dated and tiny. The trails are average at best. My 16 year old daughter had a very bad experience with a staff member. They were completely unprofessional in my opinion. Way too expensive for what you get.

What is it about Stowe that makes everything sooo expensive? Is it the below zero weather? Is it the boiler plate ice conditions which are more prevalent than not on Mansfield? I mean what is it? Much better skiing at several other areas, all with infinitely superior grooming capabilities. So what is it about Stowe that makes everything so damn expensive? Place is a self fulfilling prophecy!

Hello. I want to take a minute to tell you about one of the best stays we hve had at the beautiful Stowe Mountain Inn! The service was phenomenal! The room was beautiful w/all the ammenities we could enjoy we all fantastic! When we asked for something from the front desk i.e pillows, food etc., we got it immediately at best. Beautiful views, nice restaurants at the hotel as well as off sight. Front desk recommended a lovely day hike. Everything was relaxing and easy from check in to checkout. Thank you very much. Hope to see you soon next season. Can not wait. Thanks again, J & S

Can’t wait for the vail money to further transform this resort. The breakfast sandwich at the top of the quadrunner lift was outstanding, and although some of the famous New England ice was unavoidable, we got enough fresh snow to have a really fun weekend. The spruce mountain lodge feels new although I heard it is almost 10 years old, and the lifts on that mountain were all high speed detachables. On mount Mansfield, they have a gondola, a high speed quad, and a low speed triple and two super slow double chairs. The midway and Mansfield lodges both need replacing and feel straight out of the early 70’s.

The Gondola ride up Mount Mansfield was spectacular if not a bit nerve racking. Much more comfortable after opening the windows. Should have tried the Zip Line if more time but exciting to watch others. Understand that speeds up to 60 mph possible. Also spectacular are the views of the surrounding mountains. Would have loved trying downhill skiing here in my younger days.

So many trails.
Everyone was professional, friendly, and efficient.
Loved, loved my first Vail Resort and gondola ride.
It's a reason that it's an East coast ski destination.

Spent four nights at the Lodge and had a spectacular time celebrating my birthday! Beautiful surroundings, comfortable rooms (with fireplaces), great food, great staff....and close to everything you want to do around Mt. Mansfield....could not have had a better time!

Tree-top views are great although 'pricey' doesn't quite capture how expensive it is. I would say it is 'obscenely' expensive. How about $810 for a family of six. They really need to offer some more affordable family-friendly packages.

First the good: The property is beautiful. Aesthetically. Operationally, there are 2 elevators off the main lobby. Our room was a VERY long way from the elevator. The place was not early fully booked. Why would we be put in that room when other rooms were much more convenient to the elevator? The place is advertised as ski in/ski out. False! The ski concierge is well over 100 yards from the lift. (The ski concierge staff was very pleasant.)Uphill. Across pavement for a good part. The crossover gondola is convenient. But, that isn’t ski on ski off...
Arrival for me was ok. My son, who paid was treated like a kid. “Ok, Bud” “gotcha my man”
I was giggling a bit but then it persisted. It became cringeworthy.
The room was very nice. Good bathroom amenities.
Perhaps they were hampered by COVID?
Back to the valet
3 times requesting cars with the promise they would be there. Took our time (20 min) not only were the cars not there, but they had no idea we had called to request. Bad, bad, bad! Worst valet experience in a long time! To cap it off, my son filled out online questionnaire which ultimately generated a call from a woman who was sympathetic and asked what they could do to improve his experience. He replied that the valets needed better management/training. Apologies. 2 hours later, he once again requested his car. He proceeded down to see a valet walking up from the garage, he asked my son if he could help him. He replied he called for his car some time before. The valet said he would get it. Why bother calling? They were absolutely not busy. Communication is clearly an issue.
This morning he tried calling for his car. No answer. He went down to the valet area and waited. Finally he opened the key box which was unattended, got his keys and went to tge garage to retrieve his car.
I get the contact tracing requirement. It is a bit silly how they do it. Should/could be automated for hotel guests.
Yesterday we went down to breakfast. Asked to be seated. Filled out the form as requested and were then admonished that reservations were required. The dining room was empty save for 2 other groups! Big training issue. The front desk said that reservaions were advisable but not required. Again, it was not busy.
Summary:
Beautiful property designed more for looks than function. Front desk staff was good. Japanese restautant staff was great. Bartender on mezzanine level was great. Valets need management/training/babysitting.
It is so important to make sure your front of house staff is impeccable. This fact is clearly missing at this property. Too bad.

We were there for the last weekend it was operating this year and it was breathtaking.
Great views and great fun - not scary. All very safe and would 100% recommend. Good group sizes too.

This was a great place to stay the night during our New England road tip! The room was updated and even had a fireplace which was fabulous to sit in front of and enjoy a glass of local wine! The mountains are beautiful and you’re just a short drive from the center of town!

dining options are a little limited, but very good. its a small ski village, so be sure to book ahead, especially for the pub.

We’d never been skiing, but my wife and I knew it was something we wanted to try. Our private instructor, Amanda, was the best. She was helpful and patient while we got used to our skis. She offered lots of little nuggets of helpful information and catered our lesson to our skill level. We had so much fun! All of the other staff on the mountain were also very helpful and made our day much easier when we had questions.
There were some hiccups or misunderstandings from the person who booked our lessons though. We were told we could arrive after 4:00 pm to get our equipment, which is kinda true because the equipment rentals are open until 5:00, but everything else closes promptly at 4:00. So when we first arrived (the day before) to pickup our equipment we were met with several staff who would only say “I’m sorry, we close at 4:00” even though we were just trying to make sure our reservation was in order and to figure where we needed to go to get our equipment. I understand the need for employees to have boundaries so they aren’t spending all night helping people, but we felt really ignored at first. Luckily one of the staff did eventually help us to make sure we were all set for the following morning and added our lift passes to our bill.
It’s too bad Stowe doesn’t offer a more affordable lift pass to those who are just learning or who book lessons with an instructor. We only used the chair lift five times for Stowe’s smallest hill, but we still had to pay full price. We’ve seen other mountains that offer a reduced price lift pass that only gives you access to the smaller hills, which we thought would’ve been perfect.

I would highly recommend doing this gondola ride because you get a beautiful view of the carpet of fall leaf colors as you go up. The restaurant even for take out is extremely packed, but worth the wait. I can't wait to come back and do this again.

Skied in the beginning of February. We heard they had received less snow than usual, but couldn't tell while on the trails. It is a little bit more than some of the surrounding ski mountains, but based on its condition, and being from out of state, it is worth it. We skied on a Sunday and Tuesday, which means there were no lift lines.
We skied greens and some blues. I know Spruce is known as the beginner area, but with the the lower half of toll road having so few people, it is also a good place to begin. We especially enjoyed going down the entire toll road trail. The 3.5 mile long trail it starts as a blue, mainly due to some tight narrow turns, that leads to scenic views before it is classified as a green.

Excellent service, excellent amenities, clean, well layed out. This resort is perfect for families. We couldn't have been happier with our time there. Our family of six with children from ages 7-18 all loved it.

Simple food at the bar area as the main restaurant was closed for lunch. Quality and service was good and it’s literally at the base of the mountain. So if you’re there for skiing, this is a good place to have lunch. Summer is also a good time to visit.

Our studio was nicely decorated, comfortable, clean and met our needs...
We had dinner at their onsite restaurant (forgot the name) and their salmon was just exquisite... Their sushi bar is worth every penny....
We went to ski a couple of days and staying at the Stowe Mountain Resort was a great idea. You are right there in the mountain!
Stowe is an amazing town! It is our third time visiting and we are already planning our next one.

We visited Stowe Mountain Lodge for the first time and absolutely loved every minute of our stay. Our room was awesome, with a fireplace, kitchenette, and balcony overlooking the mountain! The pool is fantastic; the ski village wonderful, and the eateries are exceptional. We were especially impressed with the level of hospitality and just plain "friendliness" of literally every staff person we encountered. Definitely will return!

Beautiful resort catered to families willing to spend big money. Was fun, but not the typical Vermont feel ski resort if that is what you're looking for. If you want a ritzy place with spa treatment, and all the bells and whistles then this is the place. The amenities are gorgeous. Staff very friendly. If you can afford it, go for it! Skiing wise a fun mountain with good terrain and was well groomed. New chairlifts, gondolas, and a magic carpet.

Stowe is VERY over priced. I wouldn't go unless you don't care about wasting money. There is a stuck up attitude to the mountain and the employees are rude to you. There are better Mountains with lower prices and friendlier staff. Not recommended thumbs down.

Very nice mountain, slope are well maintained. Easy access to the chairlift from bottom of the slope and nice crossover slope to go from one side to the other of the main slopes. People working there are specially nice everywhere. Everything is well organized.

I went to midway this noon with my buddies and I was feeling a bit bad because I had this muscle ache and I think I am gonna get a fever so l asked the host there (I believe his name is Gene) if he knows somewhere I can get Tylenol then he said
"No sir" politely and quickly added "I do have meds in my bag, if you don't mind l'd love to give you some" and there I said please. Thank you so much to that host, and shoutout to midway!

Another great visit at Stowe. Our first time up for Thanksgiving. We enjoyed a very good dinner buffet in Thanksgiving night. Great food and the guest control in the restaurant was well managed.
Since it was the start of the season all of the amenities were not open. That was ok for us. We had decent natural snow and were hoping for diverse skiing. On Thanksgiving day it was cold and only 2 lifts were open. On the Friday after thanksgiving another lift was open with very limited trails. Ski school for the kids open. On a big weekend like this with good snow more should have been opened. This is my only complaint, hence the 4 rating. The Epic pass is now in full use. Turnstiles down and now everyone gets individually scanned. Jury out on the efficiency of this new model.
In summary great place and we will be going back. Highly recommend.

Although not ski season. We took advantage of the gondola on Mt. Mansfield, having lunch at the top. Stopped for a tour of Ben & Jerry's enroute.

Two great mountains to ski here -- one perfect for beginners and low intermediates and the other (accessed both ways by gondola) for everyone else. There's a distinct village vibe over at the beginner mountain that's missing from the other one, but it makes up for it with fabulous, diverse runs and impeccable grooming. There are even some areas where those getting used to trees can dip through some easy ones, and a nice wide black from the summit (Nose Dive) for those getting used to the steeper stuff. Definitely hop onto Toll Road and do the longest run maybe in Vermont at about 6miles. It's AWESOME! Easy, too, so perfect for the whole family. Parking fills up VERY quickly so get there early, and expect lines getting tickets and getting in, but once you're on the go, it's not bad.

We got the cable car up to the top of the mountain and wow what a beautiful view it was. We had a lovely clear day so can see for miles. There is a cafe up there as well

There is such a variety of hills and terrains that is works for everyone. The Spruce Peak is the newer lodge that provides a picnic area, storage, restaurant and bars. This lodge is central to the hill, Mansfield is an old lodge with limited services and located on the far side of the hill. Runs are long and families can stay together. Avoid windy days as then the gondola is shut down therefore limiting the runs.

Our September stay at the Stowe Mountain Resort was wonderful. The room was very spacious and offered a little kitchen area and veranda. I highly recommend this place for a visit. Definitely do the gondola ride. The top of the mountain is so beautiful.

This place in hands down the best skiing for families and kids. The ski school for kids is really amazing. The accommodations are top notch. Spring skiing was awesome at Stowe. This place is on the expensive side... but you get what you pay for....

What a great time we had! We did the zip line and tree tops adventures and had a blast doing both!! Downside to this stay is being summer, much of the food/shops were not open because it’s not ski season. This left us wanting for some amenities but we made do.

Whether your a skier or not this is absolutely wonderful place to stay, yes its a bit pricey but well worth the money. You have ski in and ski out suites where you can take your ski's off and walk right into your unit. Staff are super friendly you have a giant heated outdoor pool and hot tubs, for the kids there's a game room. For the shopper there's lots of unique stores in town to explore.Try AirBnB if the main reservation might show nothing available but AirBnB will often have some units for rent.

Loved the place. It’s gorgeous and comfortable- huge hotel rooms with a little kitchenette/sink area, very nice. Great grounds with lots to do- our five year old loved the indoor/outdoor pool and the outdoor lawn games available. Best of all, coin-op laundry machines in the basement. We’re in the middle of a long trip and was so nice to freshen up the clothing supply.
And the valets/ Bellhops were fantastic: quick, polite, and really good.
Only one tiny gripe for the management to see:
I visited the hotel bar twice and encountered two different bartenders, both not worth a darn. Not trying to offend, but to be constructively critical. First one was a “too cool for school” hipster crunchy Stowe- type gal who just had a hippy-snob attitude about everything, and frankly wasn’t very fast, polite, or friendly. Second one was a guy who looked like he was @ 21 and just clueless. Wrong orders, kept me waiting, just a goofy kid out of his element and unfortunately unaware of how bad he is at the bar tending thing. Bottom line: of course I had to go there to get a glass to bring to the room once in a while, but each time I left feeling dissatisfied for such a great property. And hating that I had to give meager tips to each to communicate my displeasure. Management should train and/or replace the bar tending crew here.

We had a few cool dry days which made the snow like POW!!! but then humidity arrived and remind us we are on the east coast!!! Great season!!!

Simple food at the bar area as the main restaurant was closed for lunch. Quality and service was good and it’s literally at the base of the mountain. So if you’re there for skiing, this is a good place to have lunch.

What a bogus end of the day. Not only did we have to pay $30 for parking on top of the hundreds of dollars for passes, but when we returned to the car there was a parking violation ticket for another $100. Please note that the violation ticket was placed under the windshield wiper, directly next to the paid parking receipt under the windshield on the driver's side dashboard. When we went to the office to show Stowe staff the paid parking slip they told us that there was nothing they could do because the parking program was run by a third party. Put a nail in the coffin of customer service. It's dead.

This is by far, the worst mountain I’ve ever been to. I’m so angry I wasted my epic pass on this establishment. You have to pay $30 for parking or you’ll get a $80 ticket. The lines are so slow and unorganized. I would recommend smugglers notch over this place every time. Don’t waste your time, money, or epic pass at this mountain. Stowe is for elitists

We went on the Stowe gondola to look at the leaves. It was a beautiful view on the way up and not a long wait. Walked around up top for about an hour then headed down. Going down was about a 30 minute wait.

Little pricey, but stowe presented all the things a large ski resort has to offer, dozens of trails (for beginners take spruce, made the mistake of going on the actual mountain), the lounge is comfy and has everything you would expect from a ski lodge.

Hard to describe this place with a few words. Looks like those places you only see in a movie. Love it, and I highly recommend it for Ski Lovers.
Weather was perfect.

Still the best ski area in Vermont. I admit I have been reluctant to drop the big bucks they ask for a day ticket, but Epic Pass and being Part of the Vail Resort Group made it much easier.
They have the best Black Diamond Trails long and consitent runs well groomed. The Double Blacks are not and wish they would groom half of National. Goat is too narrow and only for the best of the best (Not Me I consider myself and expert but not advance expert) but the groomed trails are wide, challenging and have bumps usually on the right side if your into moguls. The intermediate Trails are Black Diamonds at other resorts but they sitll have plenty of Green Trails for beginners and a huge beginner bunny area.
The town has class and everyting in this genral area is great.

We celebrated our 49th anniversary with 2 adult children and 2 teen grandkids in the Penthouse at the Lodge at Spruce Peak. With three bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, and kitchen near a great room with fireplace, TV, and table seating up yo 8, all of us were overwhelmsd. The nearby common area had 24 hour hot beverages and sodas along with spectacular vistas of Mt Mansfield

My mother bought a ski pass for Stowe, long story short, she Died. Before she could use it even one time. But Stowe will not refund her ticket. Shame on you, Stowe. Way to treat someone that had spent over 10 years skiing at your resort. Now I can not even get you to respond to my e-mails.
My husband and I are "green" skiers, and Stowe allows us to ski and enjoy it. The "centre" is lovely, with places to sit, and access to hot drinks. Altogether now our choice of places to ski.
