Only 30 min drive north of downtown, very scenic, very natural, great variety of temps in the pools. Start with the bigger upper one by the bridge, it's the coolest. We loved the 4-6pm time slot, perfect amount of sun and start of sunset. So good! Bring your own towels and snacks.

I've visited Strawberry many times over the past 30 years. I generally fly under the radar and haven't had much interaction with staff... just there to enjoy a quick, quiet soak. However, the other day, after being asked to move to another parking spot (which I kindly obliged), a male staff member flew off the handle and directed so much anger and hostility at me, I honestly thought he might assault me. I quickly fled. That guy seriously needs anger management and he should not be interacting with the public. Sadly, Strawberry is not what it used to be.

I have been here many times and it has been wonderful, but after my last attempt at going, I will not be returning. My boyfriend and I were in Steamboat celebrating my birthday and had reservations for the park at 8:00pm. We had to leave a concert in town, go back to our hotel to change and head up to the springs, which took a bit longer than we anticipated and we were late to our reservation. We knew when they closed and didn't figure it would be an issue, just that we would have less time there. Boy was I wrong. Upon arriving we were greeted by a man named Ross. He promptly asked where we were from, which seemed very odd. The second we told him we were from Denver (we are CO natives), we were yelled at and told that they were closed and we could not go in. Mind you, a couple went in not even 5 seconds before us with no issue. He continued to berate us about being late and not being able to enter and he eventually made me cry. This man has a major chip on his shoulder and I truly feel bad for all those that have had to come into contact with him. We witnessed him get into two other altercations during our brief time at the entrance of the park. I have never been treated this poorly before and am shocked that this man has a job. My issue here is not that we were unable to go in, but at the horrendous way in which we were treated for absolutely no reason. On a side note, after leaving the springs we spoke with multiple people from Steamboat who all said they have shown up much later than us, with no reservation, and all have been let in. Seems like he did not want to allow us because we were from "out of town". I am still blown away by our interaction and recommend you write a review if you too have been personally victimized by the hot springs gatekeeper, Ross.

If you're intimidated by winter driving take one of the paid shuttle vans to get here. I had no problems driving my all-wheel drive Subaru with all-season tires, but if it had been snowing it might have been a different story. Wear your winter coat and sweat pants over your bathing suit because there isn't a good changing facility. Plan to put these back on over your wet bathing suit when you're done. Wear shoes with a good tread (not flip flops) because its a short, steep and potentially slippery walk to the pools. If you can put up with all of the above challenges you will be treated to a hot soak in a gorgeous winter-wonderland setting. In my book it was well worth the effort!

I have never experience such rudeness as I did from two men working at the ticket office and “security” for the hot springs. There is nowhere online that I can see stating no alcohol on premises, except one measly sign at the location, when the security searched my bag I said I had a bottle of wine & apparently they had told us twice that we are not allowed to bring in alcohol but I did not hear those words come out of their mouth once. I had absolutely no problem to take my wine back to the car, I did not need it, but the security was so extremely rude and said if I did not leave it with him he would not let me in.. my boyfriend had already started taking the wine back to the car and the security handed me back my money and refused my entry.
We drove all the way out to steamboat specifically to go to the hot springs, on the only 2 days off we’ve had in a very long time, what was supposed to be a nice vacation for us turned out to be an awful time, these two men had me reduced to tears, very disappointing and disgusting attitude from the both of them.
I understand they have liabilities there, but when someone is complying there is no need to completely turn them away.

Beautiful springs. Nice chairs/loungers to lay your towel and relax if you want a break from the water. Fresh mountain water area to get in if you can take the cold water. People of all ages. Kids swimming around so very busy area.

Love the Hot Springs experience here. It was our first time at a natural HS and what a very nice location.
We saw a bear on our ride up there. Keep your eyes open or have a good guide.

60 minute massage and body ritual with Nicole was the best body massage experience I have ever had. She is magical. The massage is in a “cave” with the hot springs water trickling down the rocks. Nicole orchestrated several massage techniques including salt scrub, mud rub and hot stones etc with massage in the MOST fluid and perfect manner. Nicole is worth every penny.
The hot springs are also beautiful and a perfect nature experience.

I'm glad we were able to go out to this lovely place! It was a hot day and the water was hot, so we took many breaks to cool down with the cold water we brought with us. I'm glad they reminded us to do that. As warned by others, take cash to pay entrance fees and the last 2 miles of road is dirt but we drove our car out there with minimal issues. I felt like it was a worthwhile place to visit and enjoy.

This is by far the show-stopper in Steamboat Springs! The drive up to the springs is not for the faint of heart and I have no idea how those going to the night-time clothing-optional swims make it up there or even when there is weather, but more power to them. It is very relaxing and rustic.

We had such an awesome time at Strawberry Springs. After dark, it’s adult only which makes me feel a whole lot more comfortable because kids tend to 100% spoil everything. The warm is super warm, everyone is friendly but still rather private. must do

***FRONT DESK MANIAC - FIRE "ROSS" NOW.
Absolutely love this place and always will due to the beautiful location. However, "Ross" at the front desk is absolutely the worst human being I have ever met. I don't even know if that's his real name, but either way, this guy needs to be fired ASAP. I have never had anyone treat myself and my friends like the way he did. This guy picks fights with anyone he sees, and feels the need to try and ruin everyone's experience at these Hot Springs.
We witnessed this guy having altercations with literally every guest coming in and out of the park from the time we arrived, to when we were walking out. Yelling at people for absolutely no reason, threatening to call the cops, etc. There was a teenage girl at the walk in point waiting for the police to show up because apparently, this guy called the cops on her for "raising her voice" to him after he had been screaming at her mother for god knows what.
I honestly feel bad for him because it must be a miserable life to be so unnecessarily mean to people like that. He even made my friend cry because he was being so downright cruel for - once again - absolutely NO reason at all. All she asked for was to buy a bottle of water. He told us to f**k off and get out of his face. On our way out, he thought it would be funny to say "sorry I hurt your precious feelings" to keep things going.
I could go on and on, but long story short - this one person is absolutely RUINING this place single handedly. If management doesn't do something soon, EVERY person who comes here will be leaving with a horrible experience.

This place is awesome and I really like it. I want to share some tips for winter time traveler and this will be exactly what I’m going to do next time.
1. Transportation
Even it is in winter and the road is covered by snow, the road condition is not too bad. It is only 25 min drive from Steamboat so I don’t know if it is worth to do the shuttle. If you have enough expertise to drive in the snow, I think you will be fine. I will drive to the hot spring next time.
2. Changing closes
Make sure you have swimming suit on before you go there. It is wise to bring a robe with you if your hotel have one. After dark, since it is closing-optional, it might make sense to take off your swimming suit in the hot spring and use the robe or towel to cover yourself once you get up. With a wet swimming suit under 9F temperature is not that fun.
3. Shoes
The hot spring is having icy floor and some rock on the floor. Walking with your barefoot will not be a good idea. The slipper might be also to slippery. I’d seen people wearing those paper-like flip flop from the hotel. I think that is a great idea since those flip flop is actually good enough to insulate yourself from the icy floor and provide enough friction.

We visited the Strawberry Park Hot Springs the week before Christmas. I booked our group online and was able to communicate with the staff ahead of time in order to appropriately accommodate our group. The staff are easy to communicate with via email and phone, so if you have issues booking online, don’t hesitate to reach out to them. Their communication via email was timely. Plan ahead if you are driving your own vehicle, or consider booking transportation. We drove private vehicles, and I am glad we were advised to drive carefully and leave with a nice cushion of time. The last 20 minutes or so of the drive is on a nearly single lane road, and it is advised to give drivers going up the right of way. Make sure to know the rules of the road when mountain driving. When in doubt, book transportation through Strawberry Park. There is not a lot of parking available onsite, so also take that into consideration. I think we got lucky when we arrived. I am not sure what we would have done if we weren’t able to find parking. You pay on site prior to entering the Park. You have to pay in cash, so again plan ahead. You can bring your own towel, or pay for a towel onsite. There are bathrooms and areas for changing as well. The Springs themselves are very warm and unique to the area. It’s a giant hot tub! A great activity to do with a group. There was also a cold pool too if cool plunging is a thing you enjoy. I would suggest bringing a pair of sandals for walking around the area because the terrain can be rough on bare feet. I didn’t see any lockers for valuables, so keep that in mind with any personal items you might want to keep an eye on. There are some nooks to stow things in, but nothing is secure. I would suggest visiting the Hot Springs when in Steamboat, it’s a unique experience to the area.

Went here the last night of our vacation. Last part of the road isn't paved and has some steep hills so a little hard to get to. Would not go here during the winter or in bad weather. The grounds were nice, multiple nice seating areas but not enough chairs for everyone. The $20 admission per person for 2 hrs was high. We did not have any children with us but would not of paid that price for a child. Bathrooms were very nice and clean. Overall glad we went, we enjoyed it but not sure if we would return.

We have been to Steamboat Springs many times in the ski season but never made it out to the springs. We finally came out over the summer and booked the springs for something to do. We were not disappointed. The pools could use a draining and cleaning but I’m guessing they will do this at the end of the summer season. There were about 4 pools (hot, a little hot, lukewarm, and freezing), as well as two small hot tub size pools that were comfortably hot. Only other disappointment was they had started a construction project and had a backhoe working uphill from the pool. Looks like improvements/expansion to the pool area.
Looking forward to trying in the ski season.

Deplorable!!! Absolutely horrible staff! I will never go to this hot springs again!

Made a reservation for my birthday, got a 2 hour window, 8-10pm, we arrived at 9pm due to long, long drive. And were turned away immediately, staff didn't even look at our reservation, they lied to us twice, first saying the springs closed at 9pm then that we had to be overnight lodgers to enter.

We had even called ahead to ensure we'd be fine and were told if in before 10pm we could stay in the pools.

The staff was down right nasty! And threatened to call the Sheriff. What a horrible place and worst experience ever!

Don't bother with this place, there's so many beautiful and wonderful hot springs in CO.

By Tory A |

Great visit. Lots of fun. Water was available at all temps if you found it…just have to get the the one right for you! Friendly at entrance. They even let us in a little before our appointment. You can bring water and towels.

By Brian S |

The park does require 4x4 vehicles to get to. We visited during the muddy season. Drove a light duty SUV and had no problems. There are several pools, all outdoors with wonderful views.

By Heather H |

Strawberry Park is my favorite get a way to soak and relax. I love the natural landscape and peaceful atmosphere.

By Scott C |

We enjoyed ourselves at the hot springs and would definitely return. I have read the negative reviews and I would recommend taking them with a grain of salt…….it’s water and nature.

We found it relaxing and enjoyable. At the beginning of our time slot there was more people but thinned out as the previous time slot cleared out.

Highly recommend hanging out in the hotter pool for a bit to get nice and sweaty and then plunge into the cold. Invigorating!

By Monica T |

Fantastic! Beautiful city. Can’t wait to go back in the summer/spring. Not just for skiing. So many activities available.

By Lisa R |

Well worth the visit. This is an all natural experience and pool. It is extremely hot. I could not stay in more than 10 min at a time.

By rieramar |

We went at the end of our hike. We had to wait in a car line in order to enter and park, but it was not too bad considering the weekend and the beautiful weather. The place is beautiful and the springs are divided in big pools from hotter to colder so you can switch depending on how you feel. The only downside is that they only have 3 small places to change your clothes and no showers of any kind. So I would recommend to change previously to getting there. Also bring water in a plastic container. No glass allowed or a metal water jug.
Great experience

Loved the springs. So rustic. Bring flip flops the Little Rock’s hurt. Also be careful getting in and out the stairs are uneven. But so worth it! Took the shuttle.

By Devries87 |

The hot springs is a must see when in Steamboat. The drive is sketchy and would absolutely recommend 4wheel drive . You need reservations and cash only. There are small changing areas you can change into after you are done. I would also recommend bringing a bottle of water with you to drink afterwards . I wore my crocs in the water which I had read from another review because the rocks can be rough on your feet. We also went during the day as if you read on their website or other reviews clothing is optional after dark. Enjoy!

Hit the hot springs on a snowy winter night. While I wish it was clear for the stars, the snow gave a really cool affect. I'll definitely be back. We went after a hard day of skiing before a rest day and it was awesome.

By Daydream799149 |

Casual, relaxed, beautiful setting. Bring your own towels. Plan to arrive early for your choice of seats in or out of the sun. A few trails are accessible from this location. The massages onsite are wonderful. Scheduling a massage was relatively easy: I exchanged multiple phone calls to confirm a time. They were kind enough to hold a spot without a credit card until we were able to actually connect on the phone.

By missingitaly2 |

It was my only experience with hot springs, so I can't compare it to others, but we went as a couple first and then I took my kids two more times. Very nice, relaxing atmosphere. I like the way they have limited reservations. I've heard of other hot springs that are overcrowded. If you are able to get a massage there, I highly recommend it.

By Lynn Steppe Petty |

We really enjoyed our visit here. We went about 7:00 pm and it wasn't too busy. The hottest springs are really hot, it took a little time to adjust, then it wasn't bad. I didn't even go in the cold one, I don't like cold water.

By Samantha |

We visited the springs at 4pm on a Wednesday and it was glorious!!! Jeff the park attendant was super helpful and gave great information when entering the park. We came with 6 adults, one teens, an 8 year old and 3 year old. Each enjoyed the different pools. It’s quieter so you can relax and enjoy but not so quiet you can’t have fun and play :)

It was amazing! Words or pictures can’t convey the beauty. It’s a must do! If you’re worried about the drive you can have a tour bus drive you. Awesome!

By Rich D |

Went here with 6 of us. It is an interesting drive, must be hard in the dark or with snow, dirt, winding road.

We got there early, and got one of the last parking spots.

The scenery was great, both hot and cold water, very relaxing.

Limited changing room area, if you are modest - forgetaboutit !

Then a high school showed up and it got very crowded !

A definite must visit if you are in the area.

By Andrew I |

Hot springs in the most natural experience. Very attractive! Pools are arranged in the way comfortable forcouples and bigger groups. Not crowded at all.

By Hannah |

Visited in the morning and spent a few hours in and out of the numerous warm pools. It’s an attractive location with varying temperatures to suit. Rocks are used to separate the pools and it seems the original river sand/gravel bed is used on the floor. No problem driving on the unpaved road in a small car at the beginning of September.

By John H |

Called at this place on route to Jackson Hole. We had spent the day in the car and the hot springs brought us back to life. Great place but only takes cash no cards. Well worth spending an hour or two but book your time slot before to go.

By Haveafun1 |

We spent a relaxing morning at the hot springs. We tried several pools and found them all comfortable. The mountain setting cannot be beat. Highly recommended! Price reasonable, cash only. We arrived mid- morning and had no trouble finding a parking place. Our only regret is not having water shoes for all of us, as it was slippery in some places.

By cathyreber |

We went here to relax and get a massage in the great outdoors. Neither disappoints. The massage was probably one of the best we’ve ever had and we get them very often. Mind was in a hut built into the side of the mountain with a little water fall. My husbands was a little fancier but still rustic setting. This place is way up in the mts and the last 2 miles is a gravel road. Don’t be fooled thought, it’s packed and they take a limited number at a time into the facilities. We got there at 10 when it opened so got right in. It is built to blend in with the beautiful mountains around here and it does just that. There are many pools and places to relax, totally family friendly. Look up their website for more details and go there!!

By M D |

Nearly natural with stone steps, handrails changing cabin, bathrooms etc, Worth a visit see and read website for important details. Highly recommend . We did noon 2 hour slot was not crowded. Beaver ? On site. Others have seen bigger wildlife at perimeter.

By Ginny I |

Getting to this is a bit of an adventure, but it is worth it! I appreciated that it was not overcrowded. I believe that is why they have the 2 hour limit? Don't know if it was always like that, or if it is a covid measure. In any event, many different temperature pools to enjoy in a very pretty setting.

By mendoza99 |

Took 6:30pm shuttle.

Nice place and location but incredibly crowded and messy. People just leave their bags in the dark in big piles, a mess, the main pool crowded, elbow to elbow, horrible. Nice setting …. With 30% of the crowd, never again in the evening.

** YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED: Ensure you have all your vaccinations before you go (maybe even a round of antibiotics for the week after your exposure).

It used to be a nice place, but now it's gross and disgusting! It's nothing more than a germ-infested tourist trap, a cash money-maker. Stop giving this place money! Unite and ban this place until they close it down and clean it!

GERM-A-PHOEBES: This place will trigger you! Stay home - save $20.

** QUESTION: How hot is 'hot enough' to kill whatever is floating in the water?
** ANSWER: Nothing can kill whatever floats in Strawberry Hot Springs water.

It's been 20 years since we last visited Strawberry Park Hot Springs - it was pleasant and well-kept 20 years ago. This week we took the adult children (ages 21/22). The mountain views and bright stars are amazing - but that's where it ends!
** BELIEVE the bad reviews!

This place is beyond disgusting!
** DO NOT engage in any activity that will cause water to enter any bodily orifice!
** DO NOT expose children to this cesspool.
- Save $20pp and go to your hotel hot tub (or keep your shorts on).
- The rocks getting into/out of the springs are full of algae and are slippery.
- Gross, green, slimy things floating in the water. It's beyond dirty!
- After-dark water floaties are too dark to see and are unidentifiable.
- Walkways and steps are dangerous at night (dark and slippery w/ ice).
- It is frowned upon to use your phone flashlight - people will tell you to turn it off.

My husband and I stayed in one of the small rustic cabins: basically an empty log cabin with coat hooks, shoe mat, and bed frame. It was kind of fun practice for future backpacking trips we were to take. We walked up a little hill to use the shower/bathroom. Not super clean; someone had dumped food into the sink (insert eye-roll emoji) but again, if you think of it like camping, it's fine. The pools themselves are kind of amazing. There are different pools and parts of pools with different temperatures. There were even fish in one! It was kind of incredible to see this natural phenomenon and a super memorable outing everyone should try.

By fosnan |

Truly magical place in the snow! Last 2 miles were a bit tough to get there...snow tires and/or 4 wheel drive a necessity if snowing. Attendant came to check to see if we had snow tires. Thankfully yes! We went around 3 pm...not too crowded. Beautiful bathrooms! Rustic changing house was nice and toasty. We felt comfortable leaving our clothes in there but can also take them in a sheltered area by the pools. Various temps in hot springs. It was so beautiful with the snow falling...truly a bargain for $15! I'm not always a fan of hot tubs or springs but this was definitely a memorable experience! Would totally recommend!

When you are in the Steamboat Springs area, this wonderland is a sure place to experience. Transportation is great, friendly service. The drive was a breeze, we shuttles it. But certain a 4 wheel drive vehicle would do it as well.
The walk from parking lot to the actual Springs was on a flat dirt road. Nice restrooms to the right, changing cabin (with wood burning stove) to the left. All facing the Springs. Water temperature is same as a jacuzzi. How to dress down to hop in the water with multiple children dress for snow temperatures, easiest process way: WEAR BATHING SUIT WITH SNOW BIB AND JACKET COVERING SUIT, that’s it! Oh bring a towel and flip flops pp. We had our 3 girls in 2 layers and boots, rushing and throwing clothes on cold slush grounds. Imagine 10 pairs pants, 10 pairs socks, 10 shirts ripping them off quickly to get in hot water in the freezing cold. It was NUTZ and disastrous but SO WORTH IT! Place was a WINTER WONDERLAND, so breathe taking! Oh and girls make sure you pull your hair up, if it gets wet it’ll freeze 🥶 My entire family loves it to the fullest! Great memories made there for sure!

Such a neat experience. We used the Hot Springs Shuttle. It was nice to be taken up to the springs without worrying about driving ourselves. It was just me and my 12 year old daughter. We went early afternoon. The springs are so awesome! The hottest spring was almost too hot for me. I would do like they tell you and wear your swimsuit under your clothes so you can just take your clothes off and get in. The gravel and rock walking from each spring hurt my feet. A swim shoe would have felt good. It wasn't crowded when we went. Everyone kind of spread out as needed in each spring. Bring water or something to drink.....no glass. They said they give bags for wet clothes but they didn't give us any.

By Darlene P |

Hot springs surrounded by snow capped mountains...what's not to love? We went on a Sunday morning and our shuttle driver told us it was an ideal time to go as it gets much more crowded in the late afternoon/evening. There are several different "pools" that range in temperature from about 35 degrees to 105 degrees - we went in them all! Stayed for about 90 minutes which was the perfect amount of time. I recommend taking the shuttle rather than driving yourself as the roads are steep, icy and somewhat remote so your google maps on your phone is not going to help.

By Gotama |

This place is NOT what it used to be. In a span of just a few years, this place has become an overrun tourist trap with incredibly rude staff to boot. They just do not care. They do not have quiet rules here like at other hot springs across the country. In no way it is relaxing or romantic, especially after dark, with people not respecting other parties in the same pools. Loud voices, people procreating in the pools (!), people vaping e-cigarettes while in the pools (I don't want to smell or breathe that), nowhere to change in private for those that are modest but still want a hot spring experience, and nowhere to shower before getting in the pools or after once you get out.

Think about it. Nobody showers right before getting into these pools. And the flow of the springs are not strong. They do not empty these pools weekly and clean them like other natural-fed hot springs in the state. It's a disgusting cesspool.

I have also heard of local teens visiting the hot springs specifically so they could urinate in the pools as a cruel and sick way of treating tourists bad without their knowledge. But the reality is that the bathrooms are far away from the pools. People are lazy and don't want to get out of the hot pool and have a cold, wet walk to the bathroom. On my last visit last week, I saw ZERO people get up out of the pools to go to the restroom in a span of 1:45 hours.... just where do you think they relieved themselves?

They also raised their prices during covid, reservations required, but they aren't limiting the crowds that's for sure. They only did the reservations so they could put a time limit on your visit and thus have an even higher turnover of visitors per day. More money to visit, less time to visit, more people during your visit. To think they are adhering to or practicing any covid-safe measures is foolish at best, it's all a smoke screen.

This is a cash cow for the owner and a soapbox for the rude employees to treat locals and tourists alike as lesser human beings. They did not honor nor did they give refunds to locals like myself who bought season passes. Covid gave these guys an excuse to further pillage and I for one will never go back.

You're better off going to Old Town Hot Springs right downtown. Clean, remodeled, and many other amenities besides the pools. Plus kid and family friendly. Strawberry has become a place to pay $20 to take a warm bath with dozens of strangers who have not showered prior to entering the pools. Take that for what it's worth.

Our family of 4 (myself, hubby and two teen boys) had a blast at Stawberry Hot Springs. It a one of a kind. This review is for winter only bc totally different experience in summer. However- the winter experience is very cool!! Springs range from very hot to very cool and you can jump from one to another—I recco doing that- it’s totally awesome! Out in the middle of nowhere- beauty!!!

Tip #1- def if there is ANY kind of weather (predicted or current) TAKE the Hot Springs Shuttle (I think $45 for adults and $30 for teens but includes admission to springs)—- totally worth it (we had a 4x4 rental Jeep and a snow storm came and we (and the entire van full) were SO GLAD we took the shuttle!!). It is out there! And the roads are Colorado tough! If you don’t know what that means- def take that shuttle!!! If in doubt at all- take shuttle!!

Tip # 2- you will walk in the snow and mud to the springs. Take snow boots- no flip flops. If you have never walked though snow in your bare feet you will... and you freeze!!! First thing you put on getting out- snow boots so make them easy to slip on.

Tip # 3- there is no or minimal shelter- so take a waterproof bag (like an Ikea bag or even those cheap grocery store plastic reusable bags or even a kitchen trash bag). It will get snowy and muddy. Put your towel and stuff in that and it won’t get snow or water in it.

We visited Strawberry Park Hot springs with Dan's shuttle service. It was a great time with door to door service relaxing drive and learning a lot about Steamboat. The springs were amazing and as many recommendations state try the cold bath as well. Thanks Dan!

Off the beaten trail place in steamboat springs. Little pricy entrance fee and we saw whole families walking in and not being charged. Love the different temps of the springs. Plenty of Places to sit and relax either in or out of the pools. This place is family friendly but we heard that after 8, it can become an ‘adult only’ type of place. Very clean!

I don’t recommend booking lodging here unless you’re willing to use their old system of booking. You have to send a check or money order in the mail and hope to god there’s availability or plan months in advance. Me and my mother were going to stay at this hot springs for our birthday. I called last week and the gentleman on the phone was very short and kinda rude. He said there was some cancellations, but I had to send the request in the mail and it was first come first serve. There was no way of booking directly with him. So I put in my request with a money order, hoping that I’d get a reservation. I get a call a few days later saying they got our money order and there was nothing available. Now we have to wait to get our money sent back, and hope we have enough to cover another place. This is very irritating and while I understand they are without internet service, they should have some kind of online or over the phone booking with a credit card option. It’s almost 2020, not 1970. There should be some better option to see availability and request reservations. Especially with how busy they could be.

We booked a couple's side-by-side massage on the website and called to confirm the appointment. We arrived on time, but when we got there the massage room was closed and had a sign that said "massage session in progress, do not interrupt". My wife and I waited at the door for 30 min and nobody showed up. We went up to the front desk and had them call the massage therapist, but nobody picked up.

Worst of all, they charged us a $55 no-show fee. We called and complained to no avail.

This was the best way to end our ski trip! On our final day at Steamboat, we took a half day skiing in the morning so we could enjoy the Strawberry Park Hot Springs in the afternoon. I highly recommend registering for the shuttle service. The road to the hot springs is difficult to travel there were two cars off the road on our way there, the shuttle has studded tires, a 4-wheel drive, and an experienced driver. They picked us up at the hotel, delivered us to the hot springs with some information from the guide, and then picked us up after about 1.5 hours - a perfect amount of time to spend at the Springs. My two teenage kids loved the experience, I would recommend getting there before dark when the pools become clothing optional. My kids don't need to see that! There are a few different hot pools and a cold pool to do a plunge in. We had fun rolling in the snow and then getting back in the pools.

By Charlotte E |

So much algae! I read reviews saying the rocks were “slippery.” Well that’s because everything is covered in algae. The water is murky. Other hot springs I have been to were clean and clear. We went Memorial Day weekend and it was packed. Not a lot of places to have any privacy. I didn’t even want to stay in the water after dark because it was so crowded, slippery, dark, and dirty water. It rained and there are no covered hang out areas. The changing room is dark and smells like mildew. The bathrooms were at least clean and bright.

My husband and I actually stayed in the caboose cabin for a few days and it was a real treat. The cabin is up the road from where the springs are and an easy walk down to the springs. We also go access to the hot springs whenever we wanted. They had hours for overnight guests only which were the best times to be in the hot springs as it was less crowded. Along with that, once it gets dark out, you get an amazing view of the stars.
The caboose cabin was also a delight to stay in. They have running water, a toilet and even a shower in there. There is a full kitchenette complete with a gas stove and refrigerator. Outside they had a grill, though neither of us really used it, and a beautiful deck you where you can sit outside and enjoy your morning coffee. It was very cozy and quiet and I'm sad to have had to leave it. If we get a chance, we will definitely be back again.

By DanteInAsia |

I have loved going to Strawberry for years but my recent trip was a total disappointment and management could care less about my family’s experience. We stayed in the caboose for over $200/night and we were greeted with a dirty bathroom and floor, how can this be during a pandemic?, and a “bed” that had a huge gap in it which was unfit for two people. The website states it is a sofa bed and shows a picture of a futon sofa which we were willing to deal with but this was a cheap foam fold up couch thing with a huge gap where it folded so needless to say one of us had a horrible nights sleep. To make matters worse, when we brought these issues up to management we were told that their cleaning was satisfactory, they believe unclean facilities during a pandemic was acceptable, and that the “bed” was the best they could do and were unresponsive to our complaints. For $200+/ a night you expect a little comfort, even if it is camping like conditions, why mislead your customers with false images of the room and make no note that it does not sleep two people with any level of comfort? So disappointing and will never be going back no matter how nice the springs may be.

May now be my absolute favorite in Colorado! On the way there, I had my doubts. The road pavement ends and it becomes 4 wheel drive for about a mile, but it looks like it's going to be that rough for 3 miles. I was googling how long would it take us to get to Cottonwood hot springs if we checked out of our Steamboat Springs hotel the next morning and drove to Cottonwood for the rest of the week (3 hours). But the road became less rough and I am so glad I stuck it out! Very natural setting AND next to a raging creek so when I didn't want to be in hot water all the time, I was still in a setting I would go to even if there wasn't hot springs there. Several pools all within just a degree or two of each other, perfect for my spouse and me who like a little different temperatures. One pool has a short waterfall into another pool that is perfect for massaging shoulders and neck. I had not been in a hurry to try Steamboat Springs, because I like Cottonwood for relaxing (and nearby Buena Vista's restaurants), Ouray, Glenwood Springs for exercising in water, and Iron Mountain for exercising then relaxing. But I can't wait to go back to Steamboat Springs!

By dpyaffe |

Steamboat Springs was named for the hot springs in the area. There are 2 commercial sites: the municipal hot springs downtown and Strawberry springs about 4 miles up the mountain. The latter is far superior, rustic surroundings and accommodations and a variety of pools with gradually increasing temperatures the closer you get to the spring. You are in the forest. Bring your own towel, don’t bring valuables and make a reservation in advance as it can become crowded. There is a basic changing area and the land is not paved. We enjoyed it mid week. It’s not the Blue Lagoon in Iceland but it’s darn relaxing.

Hot springs under the sky surrounded by forest and flowers. From very hot to just warm large pools, beautiful and relaxing.

First time visit, but not last. Even with some closings because of Covid, the springs were beautiful and the atmosphere was very tranquil. A great day.

I must concur with Shari’s negative review concerning the lack of professionalism. While escorting my out of town guest to view the park, we walked toward a sign that said “do not proceed beyond this point,” presumably the ideal spot for non swimmers to view the park. My 71 year old guest and I (same age) walked toward this viewpoint, dressed in street clothes without bags, towels, etc. A fellow dressed like a walking abandonment of self-respect approached and ordered us in a most overwrought and confrontational manner to go back to the pay window. I explained we were just there for a view at the viewpoint (well short of the sign that says “do not go beyond this point”which we had no intention of doing) and he rudely and coarsely ordered us to go stand in the pay line. Does he moonlight as a bouncer? After standing in the pay line we were informed we could indeed go to the viewpoint. Three ideas. 1) fix the sign as anyone would believe like we did this was a view point, which it actually is, and after the needless and rude confrontation, we returned to the viewpoint. Anyone walking to the sign that says “do not go beyond this point” is not violating any rule, they are following the rule on the sign. 2) Train your employees and dress them indicating they are employees. Not a suit and tie but maybe a little closer to presentable and less near spring break beer pong contest. 3) Lose the attitude. You are involved in a public facing business, act like it! The gentleman had the people skills of a locked door—which, ironically, he seemingly thought was his job but, no door, no lock, just a viewpoint. After this unfortunate experience I am certain my visitor will return to Philadelphia with the beauty of the park ruined by the horrible and needless rudeness of the unprofessional employee that left a very negative impression of Strawberry Hot Springs. I truly regret I raised my guest’s expectations on the drive out from Steamboat. I will be sharing the experience with my friends and neighbors in Steamboat Springs. We use the park.

We used the reservation system about a month prior to coming and it worked just fine. The place is unique, lots of pools with differing temperatures. There are restrooms and a changing cabin. We enjoyed trying the different pools. The cold one is quite the polar plunge after being in the warm pools, but we actually really liked it.

By BuckeyeZoo |

Our first visit to the hot springs and it was very nice
We made the mistake of going at dark which we did not know where anything was but it was not hard to find your way around. The staff was friendly and the pools were great
Would definitely go again, especially in the winter I bet it’s beautiful

By MumE. |

I got a rash the next day. My husband did not. We went during the day lots of people even some families. I'd say if you have any reservations about going or have sensitive skin ..don't go. It's not with it. At the same time it was beautiful. Bathrooms were nice. But they don't have showers, maybe if they did I wouldn't have gotten the rash. Ways to improve...1. Make people shower before going in. 2. Shower would allow people to rinse off afterwards. 3. Issue wrist bands. The workers are interesting and a little over anxious about whether or not you paid. I'm trying to be nice with my review but I wouldn't recommend or go back. Fyi the trail was nice. But we found fresh animal feces right on the trail. Kinda freaked me out, we think it was a cat of some sort or mountain lion. Too small for bear.

We went Christmas Day, 2020 from 8-10 pm. We took the Sweat Pea Shuttle from the Sheraton there. The whole experience was wonderful. Since the rocks and steps had ice/snow on them, they were very slippery especially in the dark. Take a flashlight or phone for lighting! I left my phone in our duffle bag while we were in the pools and my husband sat his on the rocks outside. My battery went to 70%, but his phone battery drained completely outside in the cold. And, wear water shoes! It was COLD changing clothes outdoors (to be expected). My suit suit actually froze to the ground while I was dressing. So, don’t leave anything on the ground for long! The changing house was closed which was disappointing. It was a clear night and the stars were beautiful. We would like to go during the day next time so we can see what all the ponds look like. We did not get into the coldest pool though which our driver told us was around 55 degrees!!! Otherwise, it was a great experience and would definitely recommend it!

By Claudia N |

This is the hot springs to go to! Bypass the downtown hot springs and make the drive to Strawberry Park. There are pools with different temperatures from very hot to cold. The site is absolutely beautiful- the stone work, the flowers in summer. Pack a lunch, get there early, and make a day of it.

By Donna F |

I think this park may very well be one of my favorite places, for sure my favorite hot spring. The ponds are large enough that everyone has ‘elbow room’ to move about without feeling like we are all smooshed together. There is no road noise, no snack bar, no trash, no cell service - just outdoorsy nature. There is also no light pollution so the stars at night are magnificent.

We spent the night in the ‘Caboose’ - the only accommodation with electricity and running water. The bed is a futon so not the best mattress but it was cute and cozy. It also has a kitchenette with two spoons, one fork, a few mugs, and about seven wine openers; ie - bring your own coffee pot.

Our whole extended family visiting Steamboat Springs went to Strawberry Park Hot Springs for a 2 hour slot from 2-4 as per COVID-19 restrictions. There were 7 adults and 4 kids. There was plenty of room for social distancing and most people were following the guidelines. There were a variety of different pools, some large and some intimate, some hot and some cool. The setting is natural with waterfalls running throughout.

The only negative is that there was a lot of moss growing in the warmer pools which also coated the stairs leading into and out of the pools. It was extremely slick, and having seen several people slip already, including one in our own party, I was being extra diligent about hanging onto the hand-railing and walking very slowly. In spite of that, one foot went right out from under me when walking from the hot pool to the warm pool. I hurt my foot and one toe was bleeding under the nail. I went to urgent care the next day and learned that I had actually broken my middle toe and spent the rest of my vacation walking in a post-op shoe. I cannot understand why the staff doesn't periodically scrub the moss off the stairs considering how many people we saw slipping. I don't know if I'd come back again; I've been to hot springs all over the world and have never experienced this neglect before at any of them.

By Karen S |

Fantastic natural springs for a good soak. Went during Covid so we had to reserve a specific time slot based on availibility. So glad we got in last minute, via website. Well worth $20 each. Pools are varying heat and wouldn't recommend for really little children. We stayed for over an hour and I preferred the hottest pool but had to use other pools at times. They are really dark and I saw some dive in. Wouldn't recommend as there were some big rocks in places, which surprised me at times while moving around in pools. I'm 5'4" and there were some deep areas so beware if you are not a good swimmer. And yes, very slippery near steps so use rails or rocks at all times in getting in/out of pools. My favorite was digging my feet into the pools sands and feeling the heat rise up. Look forward to returning some day.

By Joe C |

Their website is terrible and reservations are mostly full. The phone always busy no way to leave a message or talk to anyone. The NEW NORMAL?

By Sharie B |

This was on the top of my list. Glad we made the trip down the whindy road. Forgot my flip flops. Bought a new $5 towel. It was fun to relax in the different temperature pools, even the cold one. Went on a snowy day around 10:30AM.

By amy j |

We went with our 13 year old daughter and loved it. It was a bit crowded, but we expected that. There are 4 spring pools. 3 hot and one cold. We got in all 4, even the ice cold one for a few minutes. The pool at the top was our favorite, but it was so hot it was hard to sit in it for long periods of time. The grounds were kept up nicely.

By Holly A |

This was the most unique hot springs experience I have ever had. I took the hot springs shuttle up from town and they were very clear about no alcohol or glass so I did not have to deal with any issues like other reviewers. Although I think the website was also clear about the rules.
I have never had the experience of being in almost complete darkness in a hot springs and I was in heaven. The Milky Way was in full glory and I even saw a meteor. The other patrons were peaceful and polite and the facilities were clean.
I would definitely recommend Strawberry to anyone.
Bring a flashlight or phone so you won’t fall down the stairs.

By COSteph |

The hot springs and surrounding area are lovely. The management (the gentleman at the front gate) is incredibly rude, as has been mentioned by others.

By Leticia G |

We came tonight, made the mistake of bringing alcohol, and the staff was wildly rude, inappropriate, and threatening. He literally told me he was “stealing” out of my bag. He then proceeded to tell my family and I we were no longer welcome in the park. The “owner” with the Australian accent was also very dismissive and condemned the behavior his staff gave me. I’m so dissatisfied because everyone talks about these and I’m not sure why. I’ve NEVER been treated so terribly in my life. And to be threatened and have that be okay. I nor anyone I know will be giving these terrible people out money. Go to Glennwood.

By RachelVaduva |

We payed for entrance & my husband went back to the car to get our bags. The man at the ticket counter kept telling me to get out of the way with my 5 kids. Then he told me to have some of us go on ahead. Then he started yelling at us for not staying together. I explained that I was waiting for my husband to bring our bags. He proceeded to get out of the ticket booth & in front of my kids scream, full voice, at me saying that I’m the only person not staying in a perfect line with my five kids. He wouldn’t stop yelling. My husband ran to my side when he saw him screaming at me and told him to calm down. He ran back in the ticket booth and just shut the door on us. His manager came & refunded us & said he would review the security camera to see what happened. We are world travelers. We’ve been to countless places/countries & we have never been treated to poorly in our lives. It was shameful.

By Veronica M |

This is a beautiful and beautifully surrounded hot springs with lots of trees and hills. You will need a reservation. The reasons I didn't give it 5 stars were 1. The steps entering the hot springs are very slippery. My friend fell and I watched a stranger fall too. There are no signs warning of this or extra handrails. 2. You should wear water shoes here. The ground is sand and the wall uneven. You never really know where a rock is or if one is sticking out along the wall. Otherwise, the place is set up nicely and very relaxing.

By Kate C |

What a spectacular place. It lived up to everything you want in a hot springs experience. Every where you looked could be the front page of a magazine. The price was so cheap I kept expecting to get upgraded somehow. The pools were absolutely amazing!!

By WillG568 |

In Steamboat Springs one of the great treats are the three natural hot springs. This was a wonderful time. Water temperatures varied in each section. The place is pretty big and there were lots of people. The crowd changed a little as the sun went down. We were in the main pools then walked further out to another which was only 75F/24C, but the main pools were close to 95F/35C. Rocks and steps are laid out to give the maximum feel that you are in nature, Sky and stars were amazing to watch. A great dip after hiking and a full day

By Susie |

Check it off the bucket list! All natural experience. You need to make a reservation ahead of time and pay cash or check no credit cards… I am 50+ and worn water shoes just in case it was slippery- but it seemed fine. The road going into the place was very winding and rural so use caution especially if it’s snowing, icy or muddy.

By Timothy S |

We enjoyed the hot springs pools. It was nice to be able to move around the pools to find the desired heat for the moment. The scenery/environment was very relaxing and pretty clean. We went to the hot sulfur springs last year and found the lack of sulfur smell here, much more enjoyable.

By Lori P |

We were a party of 9 ages from 17 to 77. We booked the morning bus from Steamboat. Our driver was so helpful and accommodating. It was amazing and one of the best parts of our trip.

By Lori W |

We made a reservation for 6 adults and 6 kids and were prepared to pay cash for each person. (Which is a bit sketchy and they claim it is because of poor cell service. I have seen credit card machines work in much more remote places.) When we arrived, my daughter had her 2 week old newborn with her. The guy at the booth where you pay said she needed to pay an additional $20 for her newborn. We told him that was ridiculous, but he insisted and told us "You are welcome to leave if you don't want to pay." She then asked if we could pay 1/2 price because he would obviously not be using the facilities, and asked to see a manager or the owner. The employee then replied "no" and we ended up having to pay the additional $20 or we could not enter. It was handled so poorly that we had a hard time enjoying ourselves. Also we came at noon and the water was so oily from all the sunscreen, and there was NOT ONE employee in the hot springs area to help with anything. We will never go here again!

By AGA8250 |

I cannot stress enough how hazardous the last two miles of the road is in the snow! The paved roads were only wet in Steamboat but the steep winding dirt road was dangerous snow mush that this CO native wasn’t able to conquer after we arrived. We were stuck. We watched other 4WD/AWD cars slide and flip off the road and decided to go no further, there was even an SUV on its roof! The very rude staff made it worse by running an obvious towing trap. The road should’ve never been open, but they let people come and get trapped all morning with no option but their $400 tow truck. NO cell service and NO WiFi and the rudest person ever in the phone booth has complete control over the landline. We begged to let us call AAA or the shuttle service but the booth guy absolutely refused to let us call!!! He said our only option was to be towed down. As we were about to fork out the money for the tow, the shuttle showed up and I asked the driver to please take us to town to get chains and he was like sure no problem! The booth guy got really pissed and threatened to tow our car before we got back with chains but at that point we didn’t care and took the shuttle back to town passing soo many stuck cars. The springs were fun and beautiful in the snow, but NOT worth the drive in the snow and the hostility of the staff!! Do NOT DRIVE if it’s snowing at all!! Just take the $40 shuttle and keep your head down with the staff.

Visited for the first time on our last trip to Steamboat Springs. Had no idea how extensive and relaxing the Hot Springs can be. A great place to ease the aches in the muscles from all the outdoor activity. Highly recommended.

By Computer geek |

We went at 10 am. We left plenty of time for the trip even though we were staying there. The road is unpacked and upward climbing at the end. We truly enjoyed the natural setting. It was a heavenly day and we still got a little burned. Reapply your sunscreen. We loved the atmosphere. Great fun

By Phil G |

Here’s what I learned and my advice: 1. Make reservations online ahead of time. 2. Cost is $20 per person, cash only! You pay the attendant when you arrive. 3. No cell phone service there. 4. Bring flip flops or water shoes. 5. There is a nice warm changing room and clean bathrooms. 6. The road is curvy and can be slippery. Need 4 wheel drive if snowy. 7. Bring towels and a robe. 8. There are different temperature pools. 9. Be careful the rocks are slippery. 10. There were lots of families with young children have a great time. We went at 10am during the day. 11. Clothing is optional after dark. 12. Two hours is plenty of time. The water is so relaxing and I honestly felt much better after.

By Nino |

I’ve been here a few times in the snow and each time it was a newer experience than the last that is until I hit that excellent warm water that we all come back to find. Hopefully one day soon my life partner and I will be able to reserve one of their cabins as well as look to stay during the summer months.

By Flyer824994 |

First- you have to make reservations. Hot, natural springs that don't disappoint. Bathrooms and a changing cabin - so don't feel that you need to wear your suit. No lights after dark- so make sure you have a flashlight or phone. Super relaxing.

By Alesha B |

We drove for over an hour. When arrived were told only reservations because of Covid l. Our Bad. We asked to walk over to take a look. The rude guy from Australia wouldn’t allow it. Instead of being nice about it he chose to lose future business. His lack of understanding or empathy is probably why he has been written about in just the few reviews I have read. It is also why this type of person will be in a booth all their life.

By Craig |

We drove 7 hours just to come visit this springs. We had issues booking online and the website booked extras. When we got to the window the very rude guy tried to charge us for the extra bookings. We explained the situation and also have emailed earlier in the day about the issues. He were turned away unless we paid for all the bookings. And it's cash only. We insisted to see a manager and he wouldn't get them. He then just said you have to leave. You are not welcome here. We had a party of 4. I have a few choice words for this outfit but those aren't allowed on here. Spend your money and time elsewhere. What a bunch of jerks

By bradenj29 |

This was the most spectacular trip ever. worth every penny. It was simply a winter wonderland. The springs were well kept. And there was different pools with different temperature water so you could ease your way in. Best experience ever, came out feeling so refreshed. Highly recommend... especially after a few days of skiing.

By Jas2281 |

Rustic and relaxing but it’s a trek to get up and down the mountain. Limited restrooms and changing facility. Definitely bring lots of water to drink!! I don’t understand how children were allowed in the springs as some of them were rather hot. Most importantly there was minimal to no sulfur smell!

By Lindy B |

Really secluded and relaxing, no sulfur smell. Be aware that they are full of algae and people were constantly slipping on the stairs.

By Ellen M |

A few things that you might want to know if you visit the hot springs during warm weather:
- you can drive up there; it is a hard packed dirt and gravel road for about the last 2 miles; not bad at all
- you do have to have a reservation (at least now, during the pandemic) and cash for entry
- the steps and edges of the pools are slimey and slippery. Thankfully, I had read previous reviews and knew to wear my water shoes and to hold onto the railings while going down the steps into the pool
- as mentioned in previous reviews, it is a wide gravel road down to the pools, and then a fairly long set of stairs to reach them
Personally, I did not enjoy these as much as others that I have visited, mostly because of the bountiful algae and moss on the steps and edges of the pool

By Lauren K |

We loved our trip to Strawberry Park Hot Springs. There were maybe 50 people there the morning we went, but not overly crowded with multiple pools (and temperatures!) to choose from.

We were there on a Sunday and the water did seem a bit dirty. The website states that the pools are drained and cleaned every Wednesday and Thursday, but the smaller pools could benefit from a more regular cleaning.

By Ashley2010 |

Went with 7 friends on a cold night in February. Tough drive there so snow tires is a must!! There is a shuttle. We wore suits and that seemed normal enough. It was pitch black with ice on the rocks near entry points so a lil dangerous but so awesome! The stars were just gorgeous!!! The warm springs were safe and comfortable and I was 7 months pregnant. Bring flip flops, robe, towel, water bottle. There’s no booze. Some people had marijuana by the smell but that drive would be hard high. It was $20 CASH entry. Very fun!

By Sonya G |

We arrived at Strawberry Park hot springs unaware of the fact that reservations are required, not optional. The attendant was very rude and informed us that reservations were required. I let him know thst the website doesn’t say that reservations are required, and he just laughed and said yes it does. My friend needs to use the toilet after the 20 minute drive up there, and the attendant informed us that there are cameras after giving her grief about using the toilet for 5 minutes. The website offers reservations….We went to Old Town Hit Springs and it was great!

By Treci |

Worth it! The hot springs are surrounded by mountains so while youre in the hot springs, you are looking at amazing scenery! Each pool has a different temperature (really hot, medium, and cold). I highly suggest experiencing all three to really appreciate it. There are small cabins to change clothes and a private area for massages and group sessions. All in all, this has to be a top To-Do on your trip to Steamboat Springs.

By chostetler |

This is such a unique place! The location is pretty if the grid but so worth the drive. We took our kids ages 7 & 9 and they enjoyed the hot springs too. The location is beautiful and relaxing. You do need to make reservations ahead of time, cash only on site, and bring your own towels!

By Richard H |

Less than what we expected. After making a reservation for the 8-10 pm slot and being instructed you HAVE to have a confirmation number, the guy at the entry never asked for it and saw others just walk up w/o a reservation and get it.

Not sure this is truly a hot spring as it appears the water is heated and pumped in rather than truly from a hot spring. The rocks are slimly with algae growing on them and was kinda gross. Was fun to go into the unheated river (freezing temp) and then get back into the hot spring area. Overall, our group felt it was overrated.

By 4everPSU |

The drive out was a little hairy- you MUST have four wheel drive in winter!- but what a great place. It was very cold outside and the path was super icy- come prepared to walk on ice. The pools were heavenly. Our son went to the lowest pool who chi is cold and back into the hot spring we were in- said it’s a great experience but not for me. Found out it’s clothing optional after dark. Cash only- no credit cards. Would definitely go back.

By BreeH84 |

The Hot Springs were AMAZING! Beautiful scenery, extremely well maintained, and spacious enough to not feel cramped.

By Jerry G |

My girlfriend and I spent a couple of hours relaxing in the cascading pools of hot mineral water in this picturesque setting. With the Colorado sun setting behind the Rocky Mountains the views are worth the visit. Also there are brightly colored flowers everywhere you look. Great experience all around. Be sure to leave before sunset if you have kids. Bathing suits are optional after the sun goes down.

By Kelly E |

This is a 'cannot miss' destination. Great place. The drive can be a little harry but well worth it.

By Justin Foral |

So I planned my over three hour trip from Denver to Strawberry by calling in the night before to make sure they were open. I told them I would be coming up in a van and they didn’t mention anything about how only all wheel drive vehicles were allowed in the parking lot and 2 wheel drive vehicles would have to park in the town 30 minutes away and take a $60 round-trip shuttle to stay for 90 minutes. The security guard was snarky and disrespectful. I ended up parking near the town and just hitchhiked up and down later with no problem.
I am on a Hot Spring tour of Colorado and have never been to a Hot Spring anywhere in the world for that matter that DOESNT HAVE SHOWERS!!! The Hot Springs are beautiful and hard to appreciate knowing none of the other 150 people you’re bathing with are clean. Yucky!
No potable water either.
Overall the springs are nice but the company could benefit from better management that would invest a small portion of the many $15 entrance fee charges to get basic amenities and a trained staff.

By Iris L |

Never experienced such unreasonable treatment and Lack of Accountability in a business like this. We drove for 4 hours to reach this place and arrived feeling very hungry, we informed the staff that we wanted to grab something to eat and before starting the hot spring. The staff first said that we could pay upon our return. Then, I asked to use the bathroom, but was informed that there was a fee to enter. So I paid $40 in cash for two people, but no receipt was provided. The staff assured us that they would remember us and let us in when we returned.

However, upon our return, we encountered a different staff member, and had to explained the situation to them. Unfortunately, this individual did not believe our story and refused to let us enter. I suggested that they contact the previous staff member for verification, but the staff member in glasses either declined or claimed to have left their phone behind. Suddenly, in an extremely rude manner, he stood up, leaned out the window, and yelled at me, saying, "Don't tell me what to do!!!!This is private property, and you need to leave!!!!!"

This treatment made it seem as if we were attempting to sneak into the premises. At this point, I no longer wanted to proceed with the hot spring experience. I agreed to leave, but requested a refund for the $40 I had paid. However, this staff member adamantly refused to reimburse me and continued to yell at us, insisting that we leave.

It is incredibly frustrating that they couldn’t even find my payment record because everything was by cash and I never received a receipt. I wasted $40 and endured a grueling 4-hour drive, only to be met with an absolutely unreasonable situation. I’ve been to many hot springs before, never in my life experienced something terrible like this. I urge everyone to learn from my lesson and avoid visiting this place!!

By far Strawberry is one of my favorite Hot Springs in the West! As soon as you walk in you're greeted with old west charm with the wooden wagon welcome center and scattered wagons you can rent out for over nights. The drive up is just spectacular sceneries and you may even see a moose on the way in ( or out. We did!) There's no cell service which adds to the charm in my opinion. The wall down is lined with beautiful flowers and Aspen and I almost expected to see a hobbit or fairies there because it definitely looks like it was built by hobbits. There are two main pools and one small one at the very top. All nice and hot temps. In early summer the river is freezing but it's a must plunge and then back into the hot pools. (There's lots of stone carved river rock steps that make it easy)
By late summer the river was like warm and quite comfortable. Make sure to go on the website and grab a reservation. They are for 2 hr slot which is plenty of time. Bring cash to pay at the gate. I've been 3 times in 4 months. Just go!!

By Jen W |

These are the most beautiful hot springs in Colorado! All the pools are very natural, surrounded by rock with sandy or rocky bottoms. The water is very clear surprisingly even though there are minerals in it, and it is also very hot (some hot springs I have been to are more like bathwater, if you have a hurt shoulder like me or go in winter like I have twice, heat counts!). There are pools of different temperatures here so you are sure to find one to your liking. Remember to bring cash as cards aren't accepted and an SUV or 4wd vehicle is recommended as if there are any slick conditions (snow, ice, rain), you will be glad to have it as the drive is both scary and beautiful (lots of scenery). While this hit sori

By bassaidai88 |

A lot has changed since we used to visit the hot springs in the mid 90s when you didn't need reservations and could stay all day. Now you need to reserve a 2 hour time period online and the cost is $20 per person cash. Nevertheless, the water is still hot and relaxing. We spent almost the entire 2 hours in the hot pools. We enjoyed it but it wasn't the same.

By JerryBerry |

Beautiful hot springs nestled in the mountains near Steamboat. There are facilities to change and heated restrooms.

By Ron L |

A beautiful place in the aspen with pools of varying temperatures and sandy bottoms. But before you drive 20 minutes to these hot springs and pay $20 per person, consider how long you would sit in a hot tub. After 45 minutes, we were done. If you do go, reservations and cash are required. And bring your own towel.

By Casey M |

Awkward. That’s it. Everyone staring across from each other. Beautiful stone work, hot springs are cool. Just not for everyone I guess. Too much money for the actual experience

We stayed onsite in the trolley so we got to go to the hot springs when no day tourists were there. This is why I give it 5 stars instead of just 4. During the day, in May, it was busy and pretty crowded. Even though people had 2 hour windows for reservations, I think some stayed later. Some people loud and drunk, making it a little less enjoyable for everyone else. However, if you stay at the accommodations within the park, you can go there after all the day-tourists leave or before in the morning. This is wonderful. It is quiet and serene. The pools themselves are really lovely and natural looking unlike a lot of other hot springs that basically just look like swimming pools. You can take a plunge into the river that run through the springs to cool off. It was cold in May but fun.

AS FOR THE TROLLEY- I was a bit worried based on other reviews but it was really fun. We stayed there 3 nights and ate out most days. We had a lot of fun in such a unique little space- definitely glamping. The bed was comfortable but a little small. Keep all the food in the fridge or freezer as we had little visitors in the middle of the night try to eat our food in bags on the counter. I brought my own towels and linens- which was great. It was not super clean when we got there but a quick wipe down with clorox made it great. It was super fun and we would highly recommend staying onsite in the trolley and then going to the hot springs after hours! (at lesast in the busy season of late spring/summer)

Last part of the drive to Strawberry Park is an unpaved road, which requires a 4WD or AWD vehicle, with chains after November 1. (But chains after November 1 are required here everywhere anyway).
There is a parking lot in front of the park entrance.
The park opens at 10 AM, and you have to wait in the parking lot until then. Nothing to do in the parking lot, so take this into account.
At 10 AM they let people in. Reservations are required, and they need to be done ahead of time, nothing available a few days before you want to get there.
However, nobody checked our reservation, just took $20 cash per person.
The same happened with other people.
So my guess would be one can get in without reservations, I didn’t see anybody checking them.
Our reservation was from 10 to 12, but nobody enforces the exit time.
It’s a pretty big kind of lake with a lot of people in it and I only saw 2 employees there.
Can’t imagine how making all those people leave at 12 can be done.
But don’t hold me responsible if it changes at any time ;-)
The walk to the springs is short and easy. There is a wood cabin for changing on the way. It is like one room with 2 curtained off sections, benches, hooks where you can hang your clothes. I left my clothes, shoes and bag there. I think nobody cares or needs them.
Some water shoes are very useful, though not required. I wouldn’t go there without them.
The wooden chairs and chase lounges are very nice. There are plenty of them.
I spotted a gallon of water near one chair - it is a smart way to bring water, especially if there are more than 2 people in your company.
Pool entrances have rails, but rocks that form steps are very slippery, so older people need to be very careful.
There are several pools with different water temperatures. Water temperature in the pools is regulated by diverting river water in the pools.
There was one pool with scalding hot water.
Water temperature in the main pool varies within as little as a yard. It varies by depth, place and time.
It could be comfortably cool in one spot, and warm water flows in there unexpectedly.
As usual, water on the bottom is cooler the at the surface.
I was very entertained by walking around the pool and feeling temperature changes from spot to spot.
There is no room to swim, the main pool is about shoulder deep.
There is no shade in the pools, so sunscreen is a must.
I think it is very important to limit your time in warm water in open sun, take breaks to cool down.
We spent there about one and a half hour. The air temperature was 82 degrees, with sparse shade around the pool there was nothing to do for two seniors at noon there.
Especially that it was our first day at Steamboat Springs altitude.
That’s September 28, by the way ;-)
We didn’t get a sunburn on our first day there without sunscreen and hats.
That was very lucky.
We went to local Walmart and bought sunscreen and sun hats.
We have reservations for 6 more days from 10 to 12.
We absolutely loved it!
There are Old Town hot springs in Steamboat Springs, right downtown.

Enjoyed the hot springs at night. Must have reservations Cash or check only. Bring small flashlights if you book the 10 pm- 12 am time slot. Very dark at night. Loved to see the night sky constellations in the Rockies. Great fun.

This place was absolutely amazing! Such a beautiful relaxing setting, when we went it was during a really bad snow storm it had snowed all morning and all day so although we were in a 4WD we might have gotten stuck almost there we turned around and ended up taking the shuttle which was a great because of the heavy snow but the days before it didn’t snow so the suv we were in made it through, cash only! We are glad we read reviews upon arrival because we do not carry cash! Would definitely come back! A must do when In Colorado if you’re in the area or worth the drive ! We traveled with two other couples and we all agreed this was the best part of our trip !

We were having a great girls weekend in Steamboat Springs. We took an Uber to the hot springs and we didn't know we needed to have reservations. Actually, I have NEVER EVER been treated so terribly in my entire life. There is no cell service at all in the area which left 4 women on top of a mountain without a way to get back to town. I asked to use a landline and the front staff refused and didn't just refuse but was totally unprofessional and extremely rude. They then told us we had to exit the property which meant we would have had to wait outside the parking lot. In addition, they said that Uber's were not allowed to drop people off. I know this is not the truth from Uber drivers who go there all the time. The man who was taking the money also asked me to give him our Uber drivers number because he wanted to have a word with her. That is also totally unacceptable. We felt like these entry people put us in harm’s way. We ended up having a wonderful couple help us by giving us a ride to the bottom of the mountain. I just don't know how these employees are allowed to treat customers this way.

10/19/22 After leaving the review below and attempting to contact Starwberry Park directly, they have taken no action to respond. Apparently, it has very little concern for repeated feedback about abusive, rude and unprofessional staff behavior....
I sent the following email to the manager this evening; however, after reading multiple, multiple reviews, dating back to a year ago, my terrible experience has been felt by many, many others. I can't believe how many people have complained about the rude, disrespectful and unprofessional staff and yet it appears that ownership has done very little to address the issue. Wow!?!?!
To Whom It May Concern,
This evening, my family of 6 had reserved a spot between 6 and 8 pm. My wife and I had an amazing experience at your lovely facility the last time we visited Steamboat which was close to 12 years ago. Filled with our fond memories of Strawberry Park, it was something we very much looked forward to sharing with our 4 kiddos. What unfolded was something surreal, surprising and, quite frankly, horrid. We have never been treated so poorly by a person at an establishment that welcomed the public. I don’t know the name of your team member, but he was what looks to be in his twenties, had long hair and a beard; he checked us in. His attitude, from the the get-go, was hostile, accusatory and condescending. He called my wife and oldest son names and used profanity in front of my 8 year-old. He was extremely unprofessional. At a couple points in time during the interaction with this team member of yours, my family felt as though they were in danger. This is not an exaggeration as we spent a good deal of time after leaving Strawberry Park calming everyone down as the interaction was so jarring. When contemplating authoring this email, I first thought I would see if there were other reviews where people had a similar experience. To my surprise, another family had a very similar experience. I’m disappointed that our family had this experience tonight and hope that this feedback is helpful in making Strawberry Park the welcoming and kind place we once experienced some time ago. It was truly and awful experience that overshadowed the beauty of Strawberry Park.

We were in town for skiing and went to Strawberry Park for a massage and to soak. Jeffrey was my massage therapist and he did a killer job! The only negative I have to say about that part of our trip was we paid for an hour and only got 50 minutes. You might say, it's only 10 minutes, but it's 10 minutes that I paid for. Not being prepared on their end should not infringe on MY time. The springs were great, really warm and the snow fell all day. We had such a great time. There's nothing like feeling the snow on your face and the warm water on your body, AMAZING. It was crowded but nothing that took away from the experience. The changing rooms got a bit crowded but everybody got in and out quickly to accommodate the masses waiting. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town. The ride out there had beautiful views and there's even a sign saying "Momma and baby Moose" so be on the lookout. We didn't see them but you just might. Enjoy!

This hot spring is set up in a very natural environment and yet felt very clean. Bring a towel, otherwise buy a grubby towel for $5. Road getting there winds around allot...but never the less, we will go next time at night to see the stars.

By roberto c |

The guy at the front collecting entrance fees was not welcoming at all. He was very rude when I asked about where the restrooms were. Overall, I was not impressed with the facilities nor the man at the front.

By Jim P |

A great hot springs in a beautiful location with 4 pools of varied temperatures.
Best aspect was no sulfur smell from the water. We went in the afternoon after our hike up Fish Creek Falls.

By Dream_whisper |

Loved the different pools by temperature. I would have loved it more if I had thought of wearing some water shoes. My feet were very tender on the sand bottoms of the pools and to move from one pool to another the steps could be very slippery. The hot springs feel was great on the body and skin. This was one of my bucket list visits to do.

By Colin W |

I’ve been to Strawberry Hot Springs several times over the years as a local. This last go around our group had a particularly excellent experience. We went there just to enjoy the hot springs on a Friday night when David (counter attendant) went out of his way to upgrade our group to a private pool just because it was vacant at the time. It was completely unexpected and really made our evening with an experience none of us have ever had there before!

Tips for WINTER Visit!!!

1. Bring water shoes. Walking from one pool to the next is painful due to tiny rocks and freezing cold conditions.
2. Bring your own towels! The ones they sale are small.
3. Bring a plastic bag to hold all of your dry clothes.
4. Have easy lose clothes to put on after swim.
5. Bring water. You will get thirsty after boiling in the hot pools.

Ah-Mazing experience. Good for the whole family, but keep in mind it is a calm, relaxing, quiet environment.

By bjmact |

This place is unique for sure and we enjoyed our visit. However, be prepared for no frills. You need to walk down a hill to get to the pools which can be icy depending on weather. Also be very careful getting in/out of the pools as the steps have algae and are quite slippery. If you go at night be sure to take a flashlight as there is NO lighting!

By Ginny H |

There is a big sign right before the entrance, you need a reservation, so don't just show up here. A friendly gentleman at the front tells you where to head, but doesn't tell you about the different pools. The first enclosed pool is the hottest, there are a couple smaller pools to the left, we didn't check these. The middle pool is the most comfortable, hot but not too hot and the last bigger pool I would describe as bath water temp, but this one is deeper.
Traveller's from all over and met a number of interesting people and their stories. The reservation is for a 2 hour block and we stayed about an hour and a half. Chairs, benches and chaise surround all the pools. We were very relaxed when we left. They are open year round. One last tip, if you don't walk too well it's downhill going to the pools and then uphill coming back to the parking area, take your time.

By Gina F |

The scenic landscape that surrounds the hot spring pools is breathtaking. Recommend wearing your bathing suit underneath your clothes to the springs. Also bring flip flops/slides and a robe. The changing cabin is helpful, but only going in once would have been preferable. The gentleman at the front was really pleasant. We had heard he was curmudgeonly, but that was not our experience. CASH ONLY.

We enjoyed our 2 hour visit to Strawberry Park Hot Springs. Even during Covid we still were able to enjoy our visit.

By MtnJeep |

Greeted by a man that I did not understand due to poor English asking for Cash Only .. OK .. good way for a business to avoid paying taxes on their income .. so we go to the hot springs which could be made into a beautiful place but alas has been let go and is run down .. location of the restrooms are inconvenient so I guarantee that most people do not bother to use them .. Changing rooms are dark and are something from a horror movie ..Paid for 2 hours left after an hour.. If you want hot springs go to Iron Mountain in Glenwood Springs..night and day difference

James the assistant manager is a rude jerk .we are gonna stay in a viilla for the week instead . Do not stay there or go there .

The drive from steamboat to the park is not bad. It's about 10 minutes from the hotel area. And uts basically in a residential area. Now I will say this... the last few minutes of the drive are horrible if you are not in an SUV because it is a dirt road and you feel every bump and the grids.
The park is nice. A little crowded but still nice. The scenery is unmatched.
The changing rooms are not far from the pools but make sure you bring a towel... they charge for theirs... also the changing rooms are not individuals rooms... it is one big room that has curtains and holds about 10 people. However, it is warm and clean for the most part. It serves its purpose.
Great experience.

By Barbara B |

Glad we chose this spring over the one in town. We paid for the shuttle to pick us up at our condo. That day our SUV's would have made it up the road but It was nice not to have to drive and we didn't have to take 2 cars for everyone. That road could get very gnarly very fast if any bad weather were to roll in. There is a changing room and plenty of chairs/benches to put your belongings-nothing like secure lockers though so leave any valuables at home. The site is beautiful-rock ringed pools of hot and cold! Very rocky, steep, uneven steps and walkways so be careful! There's a reason for no alcohol! Also no food as to not attract the local wildlife. We went on a Friday and the springs were more crowded than I expected and lots of kids. It was not a problem but doubt I would go again. You can bring your own water bottles. There is a small hill you have to navigate back and forth to the restrooms and the entrance. That day it was very muddy. Just a heads up for anyone with mobility issues.

By Randy H |

Strawberry Park Hot Springs is a bucket list kind of place. We've visited most of the hot springs in Colorado and would consider this to be the best. It is a magical place that can be enjoyed year-round. Be aware of the reservation requirement and the need for a 4wd vehicle in the winter months. This place is remote with no cell service (which I consider a plus). We've been in the summer heat and cooled off in the cold pond and in the middle of winter with heavy snow falling all around us. Changing area can be limited and crowded so it's best to arrive ready to get in the water.

By Tom D |

We went with friends to visit the Springs for a 3 hr tour including the van ride. It was lots of fun, and the owners are doing a great job in improvements to the site. The one thing that would be really helpful is to have one more changing area. With larger #'s of people cycling through in a short time when tours arrive and leave, the existing building gets really crowded.

We would go back.

By John B |

I visited the hot springs yesterday 8/27 and it is a lovely place.

However I really want to warn others about the danger of entering and exiting the pools. I slipped and fell two separate times and the second time I injured my back. I am laid up in bed and if my back is truly injured I will be considering legal action. It would be very easy to hit the head on the stone steps and have even worse injuries.
There are no signs, no warning of the slick algae on the stairs, there are no rubber mats, there are very few railings. I am afraid someone older will be seriously injured and I am writing this review to warn others. Be very careful and use the limited rails as much as you can to enter and exit.
It is very upsetting to me that very minimal precautions like rubber mats could eliminate this dangerous hazard.

I feel frustrated and sad that this happened to me and I want to do something about it. Be safe, be careful.
Also as others have mentioned, person at the front was rude and demanding, it would be nice to have a friendly kind face as the front of your business. Also no one is around in the pool area to check on guests or make sure everyone is safe and well. Would not expect such lax service and dangers at a very busy business in America.

For five people and one child we paid $140 including a couple bottles of water. I expect safety and friendly customer service for the price. Maybe this is too much to ask for.

Our group of 3 couples loved Strawberry Hot Springs. Go at night and see the stars. There are natural pools of spring water with varying temperatures.

By Elyse B |

I don’t ever leave bad reviews, but felt I needed to this time to warn others. My boyfriend and I stayed in the train caboose for 1 night (it was a Christmas present) and at the moment overnight guests are only allowed to soak from 8pm-8am. We went down a little after 8 to soak and the people soaking were extremely loud, yelling, threatening us. We were going to stay anyway, as we drove 4 hours to go to the hot springs, but then I heard homophobic slurs and felt unsafe. We went back up to the caboose and tried again an hour later, then again an hour after that, but each time when we went outside we heard screaming and yelling and didn’t feel safe going down there. We had to leave early in the morning so didn’t get a chance to soak at all. I heard the next morning that the cops ended up getting called. I called management to let them know my experience, thinking they would be apologetic and willing to make it right, but they were not and instead were very rude. Unfortunately I will not ever be back to this hot springs.

By Trek561772 |

Worth the trip! Rocks can be slippery and sharp, but take the plunge anyway. Our muscles and joints plus spirits were revived.

By jshMaryland |

Really wonderful experience. Use the HotSprings Shuttle for booking and transport. They make everything so easy by picking you up and helping you navigate what can be a pretty tricky drive through mountain roads. About 30 mins from the resort and you only need about 1-1.5 hours of soaking. Wheels was a fantastic driver. Temps rang from 105-60 for the plunge pool. Very natural and scenic experience really worth doing. Clothing optional after dark so….

By Lu C |

Great, inexpensive outdoor mountain experience!
Be careful on the drive up if potential snow/weather issues as last part of road is narrow, winding and unpaved. U can get shuttle service as well.

By Dustin B |

Staff is extremely rude, cussing at people, took our money and kicked us out for having a water bottle, when everyone else did as well. Was yelling at us and calling us names in front of other customers. I'd be embarrassed if I owned this place. The owner literally responded to me reporting how his staff acted by telling me to go f#ck myself and tried to threaten me.. would you want to take your friends or family here? he also stated he has security cameras to watch the entire incident, people go nude here, and he's recording it then! The owner continues to harass me via email days after this.

By WDR1970 |

The hot springs are in a more natural and quiet setting, if that is your preference. The parking lot and part of the walk to the spring fed pools can get muddy and the changing area is on the smaller side, nothing really negative just plan accordingly. Recommend you bring your own towels and bottled water. The springs are family friendly during the day but an adult atmosphere after dark.

By stevejaraffee |

This place was disgusting water was cold and gross full of moss and slime. After 8 pm it is a massive orgy full of collage kids screaming and making all kinds of noise. Definitely won't be back

By JiggyJimMN |

Wonderful backdrop to soak in various pools of hot springs. Cold to very hot options and lots of space to spread out. Great experience!

By Brian M |

There are many winter spas across the US but none as exhilarating as Strawberry Springs!
If it's snowing, DON'T drive yourself ! We went on a day after heavy snow and saw cars off the narrow, winding road. Rather, take the shuttle provided by the Springs. The multiple pools provide a range of hot to cold waters, all natural. Minimal facilities on-site but no worries. Rumors are that clothes aren't necessary after dusk. Enjoy!

By cindyr2622020 |

We went on a snowy February day. It was our first time in a Hot Spring! It was AMAZING! Beautiful and HOT! You can cool off in the cooler areas, which was perfect for our teen daughter. It was all I had hoped it would be!

I have been soaking in these beautiful Hot Springs for 30+ years, since before the defined pools were created and the Tepee was placed!
We are pleased to have them in Steamboat and such a hidden special gem, with a place to soak any time of day!
This Place is a MUST SEE and SOAK when ever in Steamboat Springs!

Please Note, they take CASH only, NO Credit Cards or Checks! Limited parking in the peak seasons, and should have a 4WD vehicle to arrive safely in Winter.
Good for families until 8 pm.
Adults only after 8 pm and bathing suits are optional after dark.

Hot spring is good enough. Staff is cruel and unprofessional. I (25F) went to the hot springs with my 3 friends at 7pm Friday night. Mind you it is pitch black and there is no cell service. My two friends exited the pool about midway and one just slightly before me. I had assumed they went back to the car. After going back to the car and realizing they were not there I tried to renter to find them at the changing room. Two male staff members in the hut told me there was a no rentry policy and I needed a wrist band (which I was never offered?) To which I kindly replied I would wait back at the car and was just trying to find my friends. Staff then began berating and laughing at me telling me how “f*cked up” I looked. Despite not being so. Not super helpful when you’re alone, have no idea where you are, and have no cell service.

What a beautiful place to spend a few hours! During COVID, you must make a reservation online first. And pay the entry fee in cash!

By Ishpudejko |

A great setting for enjoying natural hot springs and cold mountain water. If you don't mind feeling cold for a few seconds, I highly recommend trying also the cold pool which has water at about 53 degrees F. The hot springs are soothing and the cold water is invigorating. A great way to spend a few hours at one of nature's wonders.

By DMarie |

We loved this place so much that we went twice during our week stay in Steamboat. You need reservations but this is quite simple process. The guy attending the entrance was very nice and explained the set up of the Springs to us. There is a nice cabin to change your clothing and also restrooms that were clean. The Springs are so beautiful and the water feels amazing. They have several pools with different temperatures up to 105 and down to 98. There is plenty of nice places to sit on chairs, benches and laying down benches too. All wooden. There is a 2 hour time limit per reservation but no one really makes to big of a deal about leaving at exactly 2 hours. Which was nice. We did overstay a bit to relax and dry off on our chairs. I would definitely return if we are ever back in the area. $20 a person

I hope letter finds you well. I am to express my serious concerns regarding recent experiences I have had while visiting.

On multiple occasions, I observed and personally experienced staff members harassing patrons in a manner that has caused significant distress. Specifically, there were instances where staff followed us off of the premises, making threatening comments that contributed to feelings of panic and anxiety among guests. This behavior is not only inappropriate but also illegal harassment, and it creates an unsafe environment for customers. The attack felt very personalized as homophobia.

It is vital for any establishment, to ensure a safe and welcoming atmosphere. I urge you to take immediate action to address this issue and improve staff training to prevent such behavior in the future.

Thank you for your attention to this serious matter. I hope to see positive changes implemented so that all patrons can feel safe and respected during their visits.

I urge those looking to come here to reconsider. This is not a safe environment.

Great change from the snow. The varied temperatures in the pools were very invigorating! Highly recommend!

By JennVC |

We had a very relaxing time at the hot springs with our family (teens & tween). We got there around 3:00 and it was not crowded at all. By 4:00, many more arrived.
The individual pools were different temps, ranging from 94-108 degrees. Also a cold water plunge pool that was 55 degrees! Yikes!🥶 it was a fun challenge for us all!
The tranquil scenery is beautiful and absolutely a must do!
We took the Sweet Pea shuttle…highly recommend! So glad we didn’t drive as the road has many pot holes and was muddy from all the snow melt.
Here are my tips: wear shoes that you are ok with getting wet and slightly muddy (my crocks were perfect for April), bring a towel, hydrate prior to going and bring a water bottle with you, bring a waterproof case for you phone as you will want to take pictures while in the hot springs (peace of mind), and use a waterproof bag to keep your clothing in as everywhere is wet. Enjoy and relax!

By triharder2013 |

Outside in a natural setting with a variety of different pools to sit in. Good effort made for cleanliness and COVID protection. There is nice outside furniture to use. There are a variety of small pools to relax in, nothing to exercise or swim in, much too warm for that. There is a pool with cooler water available. There was nothing for sale, no food or supplies. Bring your towel and water bottle. Numbers are limited as is the time. I felt the $20 fee was worth it. The temp was about 104 degrees with a few cooler options available Allow enough time to get there from town. The drive was very pretty.

By nikkalooo |

Rude customer service. We called and made a reservation. The agent asked what time we wanted. We said 1 for 12 people. We got there at 1 and we were told for the first time we could only be there for an hour. We understand businesses opening after covid might not be too organized, but this man was RUDE to us. Like we did something wrong. We should’ve been told on the phone there were 2 hour blocks starting at 12 and 2. Not ask us when we wanted to come and say “ok”. I felt like Chevy Chase at Wallyworld.

By Axial84 |

Awesome place to go. Hot hot spring pool, to less hot pool. Adirondack chairs available to relax on and place your stuff while you are in the springs. You do need a 4wheel drive vehicle to get there in bad weather. There is about a 2 mile dirt road up the mountain to get to the springs. Well worth the $20 admission fee.

By 115Pete_F |

You could drive here but they say they require 4 wheel drive vehicles with either tire chains or snow tires. I find this a little extreme on all days if the weather is good. I’ve been on worse roads. Reservations are now required and we were not able to get any for my group on the strawberry springs website. My advice is to book early. Instead, we were able to secure a spot for an additional $30 by booking through a tour operator. The place was considerably more crowded than my visit in 2007. The upper pool was insanely hot but was later cooled down by the staff. The lower pool was the most crowded. If too hot you could jump in the adjacent cold river as many people had done.

By SIEMAGKEN |

Great setting and a unique experience. We enjoyed all of the pools but the cold ones were a challenge to enter. Highly recommend!

By Tom S |

The actual pools were nice. One was really hot, one was nice and warm and the rest were cold. What they don’t tell you is there’s no lockers so you just have to trust everyone not to touch your things, and not having been before, I wasn’t really sure what to expect. They should put on the website that flip flops or shoes are a must as the floors you walk around are just gravel or stone that gets red hot in the sun, or incredibly slippery when wet. It wouldn’t be too expensive for them to put some rubber mats as a walkway or something.
Some showers would have been nice to rinse off afterwards as well as you’re just in river water for a couple hours.

Overall it was a fun way to kill a couple hours but the website needs to be less abrupt and more informative.

The hot springs are absolutely beautiful. My friend and I arrived to the hot springs as they opened at 10am on December 31st and enjoyed a nice soak before our 11:15am massages (the trick is to book a massage if you can't reserve a time because the springs are booked). Make sure to bring a towel in a plastic bag so that it doesn't get wet. The springs were a bit busy at that hour, but not too crazy.

We thought it would be super nice to treat ourselves to massages since it was New Years Eve and we were in such a lovely setting. The massage was okay, but I knew it was not 60 minutes because I looked at the time right before she entered the room and as soon as she finished the massage. The massage was 47 minutes, but I was expected to pay the full $120 + gratuity. In fact, Nicole got incredibly confrontational when I called her out on being short changed. My friend, on the other hand, came out of her massage and had a nice experience and was in her treatment for significantly longer than me (she got what she paid for).

Nicole tried to tell me that I was late to my appointment (when I absolutely was early with my friend who was also going into her massage) and said she "didn’t have time to debate this so I needed to pay her." It was absolutely astonishing because she not only was lying straight to my face, but lying to herself. I gave her $120 because I was caught off guard.

What's more frustrating is that there was was no one to speak to at the front desk (although they were happy to take my money) and I have emailed the manager, Grace, 3x and have not heard back yet (I know she's there because the employees say she's there). I've been told the massage therapists are 1099 employees and that they essentially run their own show, so there is absolutely zero accountability.

I am all about what is right and correct. I am happy to pay for the service that I use, but when I feel like I am being screwed over, that does not feel good when that is the entire purpose of the service. My entire morning of meditation, relaxation and massage ended on a horrible note with Nicole’s unprofessional demeanor and poor ethical compass. That’s not right.

Bottom line- if you get a massage, DO NOT USE NICOLE and if you do, watch the time.

The water is dirty. One hour is more than enough time. I would never go back. It is a one and done and overrated.
The bathroom facilities were nice but beware that the path to the Springs and bathroom are very muddy.

This place exceeded my expectations. I love the stone walls that separate the pools - some with 'built-in seating', the chairs scattered about and the charming character of the little buildings, flower beds, etc. To sit in a pool and just look up at the mountainside, aspens & flowers was so relaxing. There were a lot of people and yet not crowded and everyone was pleasant and happy. I could just "zen-out" or enjoy a conversation with a complete stranger. Picnic tables are placed away from the pools/spring so packing snacks or a meal and plenty of water (no glass) and spending the entire day (as my friend and I did) is a wonderful time for little money. There are also trails nearby that switchback through the aspens and along the mountain. It's so close to town you can visit several times.

An experience everyone should have at least once in their lifetime.

Next time we will plan ahead and stay a few days.

By R. Traveler |

It’s quite a drive out to the springs - but once there we thoroughly enjoyed it. With covid you have to book a time slot and the change rooms are closed (you can use the bathrooms).

There were quite a few ppl there but plenty of space to keep 6 plus far away at most times. Good group of people there from young to old. Cold, hot and in between pools are available.

By Mike D |

Great spot for adults to relax and soak in various pools and hot tubs of differing temps. Nicely manicured and impressive grounds. People watching was fun too. Take your own towels and sunscreen too. Good time overall.

I loved the Strawberry Park Hot Springs. I would definitely go every week or more if I lived in Steamboat Springs. I loved the rustic feel of the springs and pools, as if they haven't been tampered with in years, the friendliness of the employees, and the different pools with the different temperatures! The drive back is absolutely beautiful, and if you're from east of the Mississippi, you will really feel like you are lucky enough to be discovering your own little piece of the west. I highly recommend anyone to go. You won't be disappointed, if you love nature at it's best.

By pfefmeister |

We’ve been here three times and were disappointed this time. I don’t mind the reservation system, but I assumed it was begun to limit the participants due to Covid. I’m not so sure that is how it worked out. The place was packed for the 6 o’clock session with lots of kids. The water felt overused due to so many soakers - not so clean. And the moss on the step makes it challenging to enter. I don’t know, great views and all, but I just wanted to take a shower when I got home.

A touristy thing to do! Wear your swimsuit under your clothes. It's easier to strip down and hop in the springs. Be sure to wear water shoes as the rocks are slick and walking from one area to another can be painful on sensitive feet (snow and crushed rocks). We brought our beach towels though once they got wet, they froze stiff. There's a small changing area and the restrooms are nice and warm. Overall, it was a fun and unique experience. We were amazed at the temp of the water (one pool was 103) and the beauty and quietness around us.

Love coming to this picturesque hideaway! The drive up is bumpy, but worth it! The hot springs are a great temperature, and there is a cold spring pool for cooling off. I always recommend a trip to the hot springs for anyone visiting the Steamboat area.

Beautiful relaxing and surreal setting. Dirt road to get there so make sure your car can handle. Been there twice and would love to go again

By LucylovesMelbourne |

ok, let's start with the good stuff. It is a nice relaxing place to be in the hot hot water after some heavy skiiing. Really hottt but really great.
now to rude aussie dude! I am an australian myself. This guy put us aussies to shame. He started off rude when we asked where to park, then it got funnier and funnier.. yes you got-ta laugh... On all our travels for our whole holiday, this guy takes the prize. For no reason at all he is nasty, rude and really had a whole bunch of lies about driving, sheriff and more. All repeated in other TA reviews. Seriously no need to be so nasty. Life is way too short man!

By Jillian T |

We had a great time visiting the hot springs. The springs were definitely a highlight of the trip. The views are breathtaking and the photo opps were great. It was definitely a one in a life time experience you can’t miss out on if you’re visiting Steamboat. Highly recommend!

By Danielle S |

Our extended family visited Strawberry Park on a July vacation to Steamboat Springs. We had four adults over 40 in our group, 3 in their 20s and one eleven-year old child. I had heard that it wasn't particularly kid-friendly, but this was not true. The eight of us visited on a rainy Friday afternoon and had a delightful experience. We had been told it was rustic and I would say that was accurate- we had our own towels, placed our belongings on lounge chairs, hung out in the different springs for about 90 minutes and then were on our way again. There were different sections with different temperatures and our family moved between all the areas. It was fun to jump in the frigid creek section and then move in to the "lobster pot" springs which were unbelievably hot! My youngest son was entertained by a little area where kids where doing cannonballs. This is a unique spot. Our entire family loved it. It felt like you were remote, in nature, surrounded by trees and mountains. The drive there was beautiful as well and we saw deer and other wildlife along the way. I recommend this spot to relax and chill after a day of skiing or hiking or biking.

Fun times. Can get busy when town/resort is busy. Road isn’t always the best, but luckily the shuttle can pick you up and bring you back!

By Kerstin |

This is by far the best Hot springs i've ever been too. From the different pools with temperatures ranging from almost too hot (especially in the hot summer) to the pool that's fed by a stream (VERY refreshing!), to the location and all the seating options, our new favorite Hot Springs!!

By LF2020 |

We just happened across information about this place & “thought” we “might” check it out while in town for the day, but then while at the visitor’s center and asking about it, the lady there said we really should check it out that it was a unique & nice place to visit. So we did!
‼️WHAT TO BRING: flashlight, water shoes or flip flops, swimsuit, towel, something to put your clothes in once you’ve put your suit on or taken it off (there are NO LOCKERS). Leave valuables in your car or hotel.‼️
.
We went in the evening right near/after sundown while there was still some light (glad we did so we could see the layout of the place!).
Once it gets dark, there are no lights on initially (they finally turned path lights on the stairs leading down to the pools), but IT IS SUPER DARK once the sun is down and hard to see.
There were quite a few people there on a Monday night, but it didn’t feel crowded.
Take a flashlight if you don’t see well in the dark. It is really dark.
🔅It is optional suits after dark, but either no one exercised that option or it was so dark, we didn’t or couldn’t see anything offensive. No kids allowed after dark. That’s nice.🔅
There is a changing hut at the top with changing areas separated by curtains.
As you come down the stairs, the hottest pool is to the left and they seem to get cooler as the pools go to the right. Each pool has “natural” rock walls with sandy bottoms, very easy on the feet. Use the hand rails to go in/out of the pools, especially after dark because of the unevenness of the rock walls around the pools, you could slip & hurt yourself getting in/out of the pool in “unrailed” areas.
We ❤️❤️❤️ This place! Glad we found it!
Wish there were more like it, but unfortunately there aren’t natural hot springs everywhere!
We were also glad there was no sulphur smell like some other hot springs we’ve visited.
⁉️Would LOVE to see muted lighting throughout or on pathways for ease of navigating pools after dark and would love to have a place to rinse off afterwards, even if it was just an outdoor shower head.⁉️
We LOVE the simple, rustic, soothing & great atmosphere! We would definitely do this again at night!

With Covid you DO need reservations in advance. Make them online - you pay when you get there CASH or CHECK. $20/ea. Have your confirmation # with you. (I screen shot my info). Whoever was working 10/5 @ noon was very nice. Quiet, no radios, no glass or alcohol. Peaceful & relaxing. The 2-hrs allowed was just enough, our day was perfect. Looking forward to our next visit. Love this place!

By Dana |

Don”t waste your time. We purposely came to Steamboat Springs to visit the hot springs, and chose Strawberry because of the reviews. Website is ridiculously stupid when trying to make reservations, and Lord help you if you somehow don’t get confirmation and overbook your time-you will be forced to pay for however many reservations you made, whether you got confirmation from the website or not. If that isn’t frustrating enough, you get complete anger and aggression from the “manager on duty” right away. The website indicates they take credit cards, but when you get there they tell you they take cash only. It’s not that far to Glenwood Springs, and you can swim all day!!!!

By bradleyjoe99 |

As others have stated, we had a wonderful time, but the staff was cold and rude. When I called to make the reservation the guy short, abrupt, impatient, and just couldn't wait to get off the phone. The woman at the admission booth was cold, aloof, and wouldn't make eye contact with anybody. She also seemed irritated to answer any questions. Now, I will say that she let me charge my portable c-pap battery at the admission booth with no hesitation, but even then I got an eye roll about it. Overnight guests get access to the pools all night long, the day swimmers have to leave by 10pm. Again, the staff was RUDE. She didn't just remind people to leave, she yelled, told people to leave and threatened (not informed) them with closing the exit gate. Advice to the property: Hire people who care!

The place is beyond beautiful. We camped two nights and I can't speak highly enough of the campsites, they are secluded from one another, private and in a stunning location. Just be prepared to park your car far above your campsite and haul your gear down, then back up a very steep gravel trail. Totally worth it though for the privacy at the campsites! The pools were marvelous for relaxing. COVID restrictions limit the number of guests and the pools were relaxing without being crowded. I really hope the keep the capacity limits in place after COVOD. Luckily the staff mostly leaves you alone and you can have a truly wonderful experience here.

The springs were great! We went on a snowy night and it was beautiful. We even took a dip in the freezing cold pool to cool off. Definitely visit this magical place, but a couple of words of warning:

1 - there are not lockers, and changing areas are sparse. that said, we didn't feel like our stuff was in danger, everyone just left their belongings on chairs. but good to know.

2 - when they say you need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to get there, they mean it. TAKE THE SHUTTLE. it was snowing when we went, and people who tried to drive themselves caused several pileups on the small dirt road in and out. we were sitting for 2 hours as the cars got dug out of the ditches, and personally witnessed a 4-wheel drive jeep that could not scale the hill to get out, and kept sliding backward as we all looked on.

3 - bring water. they sell gatorade and water (cash only) but believe it or not you'll feel very hot and dehydrated at the end of a 2 hour soak. you'll be glad you have some hydration.

My hubby and I went on a spontaneous road trip and ended up in Steamboat Springs for a few days. Everyone said we had to visit Strawberry Hot Springs. We chose to go at the latest time to beat the heat. It was a cool place. There were several large swimming areas of different temperatures. It was nice to rotate from cold to lukewarm to hot etc. We noticed that there were some people actually staying in yurts or cabins close by, which had their own path to the pools. That was cool. There is a changing room and bathrooms and lounge chairs. The road to get there is not all paved, so be prepared and about 30 min from town. We heard that there may be nudest after dark, but we did not see any. Well worth the entry fee of $20 each.

By Brandon H |

The hot springs was a cool place to visit. However we went at night and you could barely see anything. I would recommend going during the day and enjoying the beautiful scenery.

By LindseyFromDallas |

The trip up there is gorgeous! Saw a moose just outside of the park, and a bear cub while in the park. The hot springs were really nice, but bring shoes if walking on slimy algae bothers you. There’s also a very cold pool which was a nice alternative. Don’t bring any food!! We saw chipmunks tearing into a bag. Cash only, and make a reservation online.

By LauraInDenver |

Remember to bring cash (no credit cards)....and towels....and snacks/lunch.
Relaxing way to learn and love the geology of the area.

By Joseph L |

My first time visiting steamboat springs will not be my last! Strawberry Park Hot Springs is a must!

By Robert V |

Cash only establishment. Place was very peacefull and starsss free. Have to walk down from parking lot to hot springs, so walk uphill after relaxing swim was tiring. The only reason i didn't give place 5 stars when we got there attendant was yelling at group a head of us, poor customer service there. 2nd we had a 6 month old in our group and had to pay full price as if she was an adult for the 6 month baby. To me that's not right.

By donbateman |

This is off the beaten path and rustic. The setting is gorgeous. It is not a place for children or those with physical disabilities as there are many stairs and uneven/rough surfaces. Water shoes are recommended as the bottom of the pools are natural.

By crabapple58 |

A welcome soak after long days of skiing. We went after dark while it was lightly snowing. You do need an AWD and be comfortable with a dark winding approach. Wear a headlamp or carry a flashlight. You must have something on your feet, the ground is slick, the rocks are slick and there is minimal lighting. It was overcast so did not have the opportunity to see the star lit sky. Also, everyone is busy chatting, laughing, oohhing and ahhhing so the meditative vibe is not there. After dark, most were in bathing suits, with a few nudies. You can’t see anything, anyway. Basic basic amenities, bring a plastic bag, a towel , and footwear.

By KSeater |

We went on a Saturday and it was packed. It would have been more enjoyable with less people. Nonetheless, it was a typical hot springs.

By Travis |

We booked a hot springs visit and a massage!

The hot springs “main” pool was 107.4 degrees. It was a bit hot getting in at first and make sure you are hydrated! You can easily dehydrate! Take water with you. We stayed in probably 45 minutes sitting neck deep and back out to waist for a bit. Definitely get out if you feel lightheaded. The rocks can be slippery and walk slowly. The sandy bottom is very nice on the feet and digging in with your toes.

The massage was awesome. Mikey the masseuse was very attentive to my requests and was one of the best massages I’ve bad. She worked gently and worked her way up to more pressure which was perfect. She focused on problem areas I requested and did an excellent job. Couldn’t ask for better!

By Christi P |

Beautiful spot tucked away under the stars. This is one place where it’s nice to have limited capacity with Covid situation-make a reservation and enjoy!

By Stephen C |

There are three pools that contain graduating heat levels starting at the top with the warmest. The water was very relaxing and the people there were friendly and well behaved. A river flows through the swimming/wading area and the water in it is pretty chilly. Dip your toe first to check the temperature. This is natural water so don't expect it to be swimming pool clear - waders are constantly stirring up the gravel bottom which clouds the water. We definitely recommend!

By Cindy J |

We visited here twice before and loved it. Improvements have been made over the years but still could use more. Supposedly they no longer allow most cars so you have to take a shuttle increasing the numbers of people coming in and the costs. It was shoulder to shoulder in the water in most places. Either less chairs or so many people, we had to put our things on the rocks that were not covered in snow. With the bathrooms so far away and the cold temperatures, you know people don’t get out and go. The largest area where the temp is around 100 was so murky, no one was in. We did not get in. With so many people it just didn’t look fun or sanitarily safe. Other guests were leaving that had arrived earlier and said it was better in the morning. Very disappointing, a beautiful place, but not worth it. With the number of people it is safer and more enjoyable in the hot tub at the condo.

By brentknegendorf |

It’s a must go to spot if your in Steamboat Springs you will not be let down great views and relaxing.

By Van C |

Our large family group had a great trip to the springs. We arrived early and were able to enjoy all the pools with no crowds at all. The area was beautiful and clean and the changing and restroom facilities were nice. We were surprised at the size and “nerve” of the chipmunks, and we had an exciting bear sighting. 😊 We did use a shuttle for the trip and felt like that was a good choice for a bigger group.

By 60sal1955 |

Beautiful scenery, warm water, calming day during this pandemic. Read some bad reviews lately, dirty water, rude employees; none of that today. Everything was great, definitely recommended. Ride to it is very winding, narrow and mostly gravel but worth the trip.

By Pearlsandsquirrels |

This is one of the best nature trips I’ve ever experienced. Picturesque and tranquil. Pools are varied warm to HOT temps, and a cold stream. Could have laid there reading a book and sun bathing all day. A highlight of visiting Steamboat Springs and among my all time favorite outings.

By Benubius |

Literally one of the most wonderful experiences I've had at a hot springs resort. You're going to have to drive an AWD vehicle to get there though. And it's SO worth the drive! The all natural setting and clothing optional after dark really emphasize how 'natural' it is. A river runs alongside the soaking pools for the cold dip but be prepared...it's COLD! I loved all the cabins scattered around the site surrounded by nature, it really immerses you giving you a well rounded experience. What a relaxing beautiful location. Can't wait to bring friends and family here to enjoy the beauty of this place.

By Ellie352 |

I love this place!!!!!! Still rustic without all the modern conveniences-change your clothes, take your stuff with you and enjoy a very unique hot spring experience. Several pools of varying temperatures, and a river right beside the pools to cool them down and be your cool down dunk tank as well. All very natural with sand/rock bottoms and breathtaking views. Have been here in both summer and winter and the snow adds even more beauty. Will continue to return and hope they maintain the “rustic” charm this hot spring brings. Thanks to all the staff-this is a fabulous place.

By Chrystal S |

Horrible and scary experience!!!!
*negative stars*
The hot springs was nice but being verbally assaulted by an employee ruined all the calm we had experienced.
We were changing our clothes in our van in the parking lot after our evening soak.
Someone who did not identify himself came in hot and parked his truck way too close and started yelling that we needed to leave. I hadn't looked a clock in hours. It's very dark at the springs and I don't see well at night so it took us a wile to get back to the car even though we happily left when they did the sweep at 10. He then started honking his horn and flashing his brights while hurling personal insults at the top of his lungs. I was genuinely feeling as if he was going to physically attack me. It was scary.
He made comments about our "sh*tty van" and that we should "drink somewhere else". I am a 45 year old female business owner and my partner is a 39 YO disabled vet with PTSD. Our drinking in the van days our long past and nothing and I mean NOTHING warrants that kind of unhinged behavior. We were simply changing out of our wet clothes in a relaxed manner as should be welcomed and expected after a hot soak. This behavior was shocking, cruel, uncalled for and triggered my partner into panic attack which was exacerbated by the fact that the miserable human followed us out the lot and all the way to Steamboat and would not pass us when we pulled over to let him by.
We were both shaking, extremely upset and feeling unsafe. This is not what we were expecting and it really put a sad fracture in a beautiful week in Colorado.

After reading similar reviews I am concerned contacting the business might not even be helpful. I am appalled that someone like this can exist working with the public sector. This is beyond unprofessional and crosses into the category of assault.

Don't support this business!
Get this man to anger management classes.

By Emilady |

The water was so dirty and full algae. It was very slippery. It was gross. Luckily, we drove ourselves so it was inexpensive. Would not do it again.

By Lora5672 |

Went yesterday (6/20) Was enjoying it but went into a small spring with my husband and the next thing we noticed was black algae/mold was everywhere in the water and on us. Got out quickly, but too late. I had a rash and hives developing all over. There was no where to rinse off so we had to dry off, change and leave so I could get back to the hotel and shower.

ALSO I thought it was ridiculous to ask, but glad I did before going. They DO NOT supply towels. You can rent one for $5. Of course, cash only.

If you have any issues with walking uneven ground or many stairs, this place is not for you either. Another issue I wish I would have known.

If you do go, pack and wear swim shoes. The rocks on the bottom aren’t flat, slippery and you will stub your toe.

Actually, unless you call and they say they’ve cleaned the pool, just don’t go. I wish we had asked for a refund. I doubt they would have, even with me showing them my hives. There weren’t worried about guests. Saw a worker once walk by the pools during our stay. The entry area where the workers were was far away and out of site.

By Rob T |

Super dark if theres not a moon out. I cant believe nobody hurts themselves. Great springs for going naked. At night about half the people go nude, half dont. Good mix of people but overall probably the most attractive younger crowd ive seen at clothing optional springs.

By joe |

If you ever go there ask for Roberto and just let him know the short guy with the bill from 1930 sent you, you won’t regret it. The Strawberry Hot springs experience is already wonderful but it’s only amplified by the generosity of the hard working employee called Roberto. A true OG.

By Brewster2014 |

The hot springs are off the beaten path and worth every bit of the effort to get there!
Wonderful hot springs, no kids after dark when clothing becomes optional.

By Rinring |

- Staff Attitude : Not nice
- Water temperature: mild 〜hot (around 120F)
- Water Quality: Muddy, not clean
- Room for changing clothes: yes
- Restroom: yes
- Shower: no shower rooms.
You cannot take shower after the muddy and nasty water from Hot Springs.

They should have shower rooms.

By Betty |

I recommend coming in the snowy months to experience the nice hot spring while enjoying a beautiful snow covered landscape around you. They have different "pools" with varying temperatures.

By Nord |

While the nature surrounding the hot springs is outstanding, the pools themselves leave a lot to be desired. This is the first one I have been to that did not suggest that guests shower before entering. Not only that but there are no showers for regular guests. This likely led to what looked like mini oil slicks and foam specks in the pools.

The water didn't get any better below the surface as there was a lot of algae. The steps were extremely slippery and impossible to use without a firm grip on the handrail.

During our visit we were serenaded by the diesel engines and beeping of construction equipment. Hopefully this was at least making the foot paths less treacherous.

Some positive aspects were the seating and the restroom facilities. The loungers provided a comfortable place to sit you wouldn't find in a public park. The restrooms had running water and really interesting architecture.

By Sharon D |

It was fun to experience natural hot springs. The area is beautiful and the different temperature if the pools is really neat but I was surprised by the amount of algae and gunk that was floating around. The stairs in some places are slippery because the slime. A women that was there at the same time was overheard saying “Wow, it has changed a lot. It didn’t use to look like this!”

By dis051414 |

Road to get to the hot springs was narrow and curvy. Need to watch where you are going & watch for other cars. There is a nice bathroom before you walk down to the springs. The "pools" range from cold to VERY HOT, so you can decide which one you like the bet. I would recommend wearing crocs or water shoes. We stayed until dark when clothing is optional. During the day there were more "mature people" at the springs and once it was later in the day, more younger people were arriving. Bring your own towel and food/beverages. Alcohol is not allowed, but I didn't see anyone being checked. A lot of people had "Yeti" cups, so not sure what might of been in them. Parking is free. Nice way to spend an afternoon.

By Keith R |

My wife and I did a 6-8 PM time slot (reservations required) and loved it. Snow everywhere and a full moon made for an almost surreal setting. There are 2 main pools with the upper pool being hotter than the lower but both were a great temp depending on what you like. You can also go over a wall into the MUCH colder water for a quick cool off. Even though it was 18 degrees, we were perfectly comfortable. After sunset, it is clothing optional (fine print) but with the darkness and steam off the pools, you couldn't really tell if anyone was nude or not and no one made a big deal. Would highly recommend if you want something unique. Will go back during the day just to see what that is like and take in the scenery.

By MichaelMc777 |

The springs are in the most picturesque setting! Truly beautiful! There are wonderful areas to lounge and soak up the sun too. There are a variety of pools with different temperatures. And, you can do a cold plunge in the river too. All done in the natural stones of the area.

See pics.

Magical and lovely!

Great for families too!

Highly recommended

By Rhiannon B |

Wow, so disappointing! We came to Steamboat largely to use these hot springs. After finding out that there were no concessions for infants I called to speak to somebody in an attempt to understand this a little more. I explained my disappointment to the gentleman on the phone and asked him if he understood that this decision made it impossible for families to visit the hot springs. He was incredibly rude to me and said that although they had recently gotten rid of the concession, he wasn’t concerned about the impact this caused on families to visit and then abruptly hung up on me. I understand that businesses are making changes due to covid, but I haven’t come across this ANYWHERE else and I’m so disappointment in both this decision and with the way I was treated when I called up. For a business that is trying to remain open in challenging times, perhaps a little more attention to customer service could be a better way forward?

By FarAway608621 |

These hot springs are a great place to relax and reset after all the activities around Steamboat. Go in the evening to see the stars. Beware, there is really no lighting around the springs so when it gets dark it is VERY dark. Have your phone as you will need the light to navigate out of the park.

By bobbigilk |

Gorgeous water, felt amazing. Some of the pools got super hot but you got used to it or moved to a different pool. Felt comfortable there, they do well for social distancing by only having a certain amount of ppl there at a time.

By Maggie S |

This is a must-do in Steamboat, but be sure to book ahead online as spots fill up quickly. You should shuttle during snow, because 4-wheel drive is required and roads are narrow and very slippery.

By welovetotravel |

Best hot springs in Colorado! Scenery, price and atmosphere all worth the drive to see the springs in person. Nice warm changing rooms. Towels can be purchased. No alcohol allowed.

By kevingator |

They NEVER answer their phone! Their website is horrible and can’t make reservations. Don’t waste your time on place that has no pride.

By stephanie h |

Hidden gem. We did the hike which was beautiful and followed a stream most of the way. It is up hill one way so plan accordingly. Was a nice soak after a 2 hour hike. There are changing rooms. You must make reservations and pay in cash. There is parking if you prefer to drive.

By Dave B |

Cost was well worth the visit. Relaxing, gorgeous scenery friendly workers, and the hot springs water had multiple temp levels allowing you to move from cool to very hot. It was a great experience.,

By ogerkan |

The springs are located about 10 minutes from downtown up a bumpy dirt road. Definitely worth the effort to get there. The snow in the trees and the stonework all add to the experience. Small changing room, expansive bathrooms but no cafe or such. The first thermal pool is the hottest, the second more comfortable. Forget about the cold pool in winter.
Tip - come dressed ready to go as the changing room is crowded.

By Srkk51 |

Nicely landscaped. Adirondack chairs available. Family friendly. Various sizes of pools with different temperatures. Need better changing facilities.

By Debbie O |

They are doing an excellent job of keeping this gem open during a crazy time. Really cool vibe! Drive out spectacular but during the winter you need snow tires and at times 4WD. Was the highlight of our weekend and we had a blast in Steamboat!!

This park has nice Hot Springs, and it was a pleasure to visit them with a family. They give a 2 hour block appointment. And it's a ticketed entry of $20 per head. The drive is through well winding paths nicely cut through mountains, a little rambling towards the last 2 miles. But it is doable, there is ample parking, and at the entry you have to pay in cash. Get your entry, Ross, abee and rob. I'm doing a great job of entry and security check further on. There is the spa room, which has all the changing rooms and it's a good arrangement with nice cloth curtains, very nicely, managed. Wooden stairs, take you down to the different Poles. The first one is ultra hot, I think, around 146°F. Then you go on. There are nice, chase and Sun beds. You have to get your own towels. Then there is a medium heat full next asleep. Little less temperature and the last one is A low cool There's one which is ice cold, but it is fun. Changing the Pools and getting to know the temperature. The best thing is to do the surface treatment for your skin and hair. It's really, very, very beneficial.I'm feeling very relaxed
Must-visit Venice steamboat, Springs. Other facilities like old town have much less to offer. But charged thirty five dollars per head.

One of my favorite places to take friends when they visit Colorado. Worth the drive or short flight from Denver to Steamboat Springs. The natural-looking pools are so beautiful. My favorite is the pool that overlooks the river.

The outdoor natural Hot Springs is One of Steamboat's iconic trips. Water flowing out of the ground at 85 gallons per minute at 165° mixes with cold streamwater to form the first pool at 104°. Second pool little cooler. Third pool little cooler. Stream = 38 °= its cold. Shrink everything on your body! Sometimes a fox, elk or moose can saunter by. Nite sky you've never seen. At dusk college kids take advantage of clothing obstacles. Many participants have good lung development ! don't bring valuables, wear bathing suit under clothes, change in coed TEEPEE, no glass. Sanding bottom. Super fun.

Strawberry Park hasn’t changed much due to Covid, other than you must book your spot online… If you end up showing up with a couple extra people in your party they might let you in if the occupancy isn’t too high.

Remember after dark, bathing suits are optional and if you don’t want to see a lot of skin, only go during the daytime.

Great place for relaxing in the natural outdoor hot springs. We went at 10 am to avoid a big crowd. Changing rooms were nice and had heated floors which was a big plus. Would have been nice if step were cleared of sand & rocks when going in.

Could be challenging to get to in bad winter conditions so all wheel drive or snow tires recommended.

Take your flip flops!

By Southerngirl |

We drove ourselves out on a sunny day - temp about 36 & had no issues in a 4WD Traverse. Attendant was ok - informed us of changing room and restrooms - women's restroom was roomy and we used it to change. The scenery is lovely, though a couple of pools were out of service (drained or less than 1/2 full). We did not notice any signage signaling which pools were which (varying temps) which would be very helpful. Perhaps we just didn't see them? Chairs surround the pools to lounge or place your belongings. Bring some water to drink, towels, and maybe flip flops. Kids enjoyed it (16 & 12) but we were all ready to go after an hour. Nice activity if taking a day off from skiing!

There are some review that moan about slimey water, too many naked people and people having sex in the springs after dark.......IGNORE THEM.

The springs are great and there is a temperature for everyone. We went as a group not really knowing what to expect after reading some of the negative reviews. This is natural spring water and is great. Whilst we were there (6pm until gone 8pm). There was one naked chap, no one having sex and everyone was very chilled out chatting in small groups or couples. Now, I'm not going to say that the sides of the pools were not slimey but its not a hot tub people! It's not treated with chemicals!

Advice....road to the springs could be a little tricky to negotiate after snow but a decent 4X4 and safe driving will get you there. Flipflops are a good idea for walking around when not in the water and take it easy, watch your step in the dark and you will be fine.

Go and experience this great place. We will go again if we are back in Steamboat.

I kinda hate to tell anyone about this place because I am a terribly selfish person and would like to keep it to myself, but the guilt is setting in so here's my share.. If the "Aussie guy" yells at you, it' might be for a good reason. Read everything on the website and you'll be fine. He actually saved us from a world a hurt, turning our kids around at dusk on a wintery afternoon. The place is pretty treacherous, so watch your step and move around sloooooowly. We only saw one guy at the check in truck for the three days we stayed and he was super kind and low key. I'm attaching a couple pics of the lodging options (caboose and rustic #5) since that was the one thing I had trouble seeing before we went. But again, don't go there because I want these cabins available to me when I go :) Also attaching a pic of us scootin down the mountain on a school day in search of "bars" so my kid could take a test on his Chromebook. Enjoy being off the grid at the park, please pack out all your stuff (saw lots of leftovers scattered around the pools at daybreak), and follow the rules with mask wearing etc so you don't get tossed out. And THANK YOU to everyone on staff at Strawberry Park for taking such great care of the place. The early morning guys were awesome and our accommodations, aside from a few lights out, were perfect.

We were in town to celebrate 31 years of marriage. We reserved a ride online on The Hot Springs Shuttle the night before for a 9 am pick up from our hotel. Our driver, Dan, was there right on time. He was friendly, informative and professional. He gave us a bit of history on the way to Strawberry. He walked us towards the hot springs when we arrived and explained where everything was. $120 total for transportation both ways, admission and gratuity. VERY worth it!

Beautiful grounds! Well-maintained. It’s clear the owners care a lot for their property!

There were maybe 5 others when we arrived and about 75 when we left 2 hours later. Even with the number of people, there was plenty of space to enjoy the different spring pools w/o feeling crowded. You’d have to get a lot of people in there to feel crowded.

We left our belongings on a couple of chairs and enjoyed the clear, smaller spring pools for a while before heading to the larger spring pools.

I even took the plunge into the creek-fed cold pool (40 degrees) and swam about 30 seconds. Very cold, but so invigorating!

All you really need is your swimsuit, water bottle, water shoes and a towel.

As far as the other reviews commenting on algae and slippery rocks - it’s a natural hot spring -it’s not your hotel hot tub. And rocks are slippery when wet. We didn’t find either to be any issue at all. There are handrails and the algae kick up was minimal - and even if it had been murky - it’s nature.

What a fabulous way to start our Monday morning!

The staff here is absolutely lousy. Customer service skills are poor and there is no sense of hospitality when arriving here. The place is beautiful but the people who run it are horrible. Beware.....

Disappointing Stay and Unprofessional Service

Our stay at this hot springs resort was unfortunately far from ideal. Upon arrival, we discovered that the heater in the cabin we had booked was not functioning, and we were offered an alternative cabin. While we were disappointed to not be in the larger cabin with the fireplace as initially planned, we accepted the change with the understanding that our original cabin would be ready first thing in the morning, and assistance would be provided to help us move our belongings.

However, the following morning, when we returned to inquire about the status of our original cabin, we were told it was not ready and that maintenance was scheduled for noon. The staff member’s response to our inquiry was dismissive, and when we expressed our concerns, he became belligerent and unhelpful.

After a day of skiing, we returned to the resort at 4:00 pm and were finally directed to our original cabin. Upon entering, we were immediately overwhelmed by a strong gas smell, which posed a serious safety risk. We reported this to the front desk, only to be told that the smell was a common occurrence in the older cabins, and that other guests had never complained. When we expressed our discomfort and requested a move, we were told that no alternative accommodations were available. The staff member promised to have a manager call us, but after waiting an hour without any communication, we called back. The response was again dismissive, and we were informed that no resolution would be offered.

After multiple attempts to reach the manager, I finally spoke with him two days later. While he agreed to issue a refund, he made it clear that he considered us a problem from the outset, stating that the resort was not suitable for us. This, despite the conflicting responses from staff about the gas smell, left us feeling disrespected and dismissed.

The overall service was marked by rudeness and a lack of accountability. Furthermore, the constant flow of busloads of guests, with no clear capacity limits, further detracted from our experience, making it feel overcrowded and chaotic.

We would not recommend this resort due to its poor customer service, lack of professionalism, and safety concerns. We were disappointed by our experience and will not be returning.

Although I have lived here for some time, it took my sister's visit to venture out to the Hot Springs. They do not disappoint. The variety of pool temperatures makes it so fun to hop around from very hot to normal pool temperatures. It is fun for the whole family.

Great hot springs run by a family. Terrific time, cabins available, beautiful surroundings an they have taken exceptional care of the facility and surroundings. Highly recommend! (road getting there is a little tough)

So incredibly relaxing! Didn't want to leave. If you come to Steamboat, you definitely have to stop here for a soak.

By laurendavis |

We were in Steamboat over July 4 holiday and found one of the last reservations for the Sunday we were driving home (you'll need a reservation due to covid restrictions). This was our first hot springs experience and it was amazing. We were there at opening and there were less than 30 people total the whole time we were there, we felt like we had the place to ourselves. The set up of chairs on different levels is beautiful. There are 3 pools (hot, warm, cold) and we loved trying them all. The changing rooms are currently closed but the bathrooms are large and clean. My 8 year old son loved floating around in the warm water. Absolutely beautiful place!

By Olga G |

Hot Springs are worth visiting - they are gorgeous and it felt like there was some therapeutic effect. However, the owners need to build another changing cabin. There is only ONE and it's tiny, and just one room for all genders. How are women and kids supposed to change in the cold? Restrooms are not equipped for getting changed. Besides that the ticketing booth employees are impolite. Phone calls or emails never got answered. In addition: do not believe they will "turn the cars away" if the cars are not 4WD and don't have winter tires. This is such an impudent lie - we had to book a shuttle to get there but upon arriving of the shuttle to pick us up it was clear the shuttle's tires weren't even better than ours. When we came up to the hot springs nobody was checking anybody's tires and nobody was turning cars away. As a matter of fact, there were old little cars parked and one had a spare tire on it. It felt like a ploy. If you are from Colorado and know how to drive on snowy winding winter roads, you'll be ok driving up on your own. Otherwise, the hot springs are great.

By jaqi007 |

We were looking for a Spring that would be surrounded by snow and Plenty of outdoor scenery. This place is beautiful, you can bring your things right down to the Spring, and leave them as you jump in . We were our bathing suits under our clothes so we didn't have to go into the changing Room. The staff was friendly and kind and helpful. There are pools of different temperatures the large middle one has a lovely hotspot and there is a huge cold plunge pool next to it then there's plenty of lukewarm pools. Wear flip flops or your water shoes even though there is a sandy bottom there are still rocks and stuff. It is part of the mountain and not exactly a Fancy spa.

By Laurie |

The springs are really hot but nice! The facility was great, they had chairs around the springs. I didn’t wear pool shoes and was fine.

Get the Massage!! It was one of the best I ever had.

The road has been graded so it was an easy drive if you take it slow. I did not have a four wheel drive just a regular car.

By ACC616 |

This place was amazing! A definite must do if you're in the area. It was very relaxing Loved all the different pools with different temperatures.

By Lauren Butterfield |

First off, let me say that the staff here really needs to take a class on how to be polite to customers because my entire group of 6 people were treated so poorly. The management team needs to really get this figured out because it was so embarrassing how they were acting.

Don't forget to bring $20 in cash and to bring a towel!

By Otto H |

Absolutely stunning hot springs with unforgettable experience in natural pools and cooling pool little cabins around.

By austin r |

We tried to go to the hot springs which we hear are amazing but apparently you pay full price ($20) for an 8 month old baby. We found this unbelievable and Intentionally prohibitive for families. Such a shame.

By Rachel F |

Just visited and found the experience of the soaking very nice. It felt safe enough during a time of an extreme spike in Covid numbers in Colorado. Numbers of people are controlled in the pools which is wise and greatly appreciated.

The separate massage business operated on site is another issue. We were not informed that the staff massage therapists were not vaccinated nor willing to wear masks during our scheduled one hour indoor massages. This is outrageous. To run a business and not be up front about safety risk but rather leave that burden on customers to ask is reckless and dangerous. We cancelled our massages.

Personal choices are one thing, exposing others without informing them, another.

This business should advertise that they are practicing massage in indoor spaces with out being vaccinated or willing to wear masks….Clientele can then make their own informed decisions.

Strawberry Hot Springs should also think about whether they want to be supporting this business on their property…..if they have a choice.

**DO NOT STAY HERE – Misleading, Dirty, and Unsafe**

We booked what was advertised as the “Large Cabin” (pictured above), but upon arrival, we were given a much smaller, poorly maintained cabin that did not match the listing at all.

The room was infested with wasps and other bugs. When we reported this to Ross (the only staff member we encountered), he casually said, *“Well, I can spray,”* with a grin, showing a complete lack of concern.

The cabin itself was in terrible condition:

* The gas lantern didn’t work.
* There was no way to secure the cabin—no lock, no safe, nothing to protect valuables.
* The single-pane windows were either broken, didn’t open for ventilation, or were in terrible shape, making the cabin extremely hot and uncomfortable.
* The mattresses were about 3 inches thick and felt at least 20 years old—completely unsuitable for a restful night.

We had traveled a long distance expecting a clean, comfortable, and accurately advertised cabin. Instead, it felt like we had been scammed. The lack of basic amenities, safety, and staff professionalism made this a completely miserable experience.

Avoid this place at all costs.

This place is a hidden paradise in the mountains! I went to hot springs in Japan and this is quite comparable! (Japan still wins but this is really close and probably the best you will find in the U.S.)! I absolutely loved it! I read some comments here about unruly guests etc... My experience was totally serene and the folks visiting were all so nice. It was the 8p-10p slot and so peaceful! The guy that worked there was pleasant, no issues at all!

For those going for the first time, make sure you bring your own towel and a flashlight if you go at night. Also, you can drive right up to the place (part of the way is a dirt road and would recommend a 4wd).

You will not regret this experience. It was the highlight of my trip!

By KevinSchwartz |

It takes a little drive to get to the springs and the road is rough so it's better to hire their shuttle.
The paths are wet and muddy. There's also alot if sand and pebbles on the stone walking areas around the springs that are hard on the feet.
Rustic aspects aside, we loved our time here. The girls liked the hotter pool which I believe is at 104° and I was more comfortable in the pool that was in the 90s as well as the cold pool.
Beautiful valley that it is nestled within and with snow on the ground was absolutely stunning.
There is a communal changing cabin with curtained areas to change out of your wet clothes when you're done.
Be sure to take water, you'll need to rehydrate.

We are so glad that this place was recommended to us by a colleague. It is very close to Steamboat Springs, however, there is a 3 mile dirt road up a hill to get to this gem. The entrance fee is $20 per person and that includes access to several hot spring pools at varying temperatures. The setting is picturesque with beautiful flowers and landscaping with lunge chairs and umbrellas. The bathrooms/ changing areas were rustic, yet modern. Overall we had a great time at Strawberry Park and would recommend to others.

By Tara R |

Such a wonderful place to soak and rejuvenate. The $15 rate is so affordable considering there is no time limit to what you can spend there.

By Saffron |

The night before, we made reservations online for a 10 a.m. to 12 noon slot. Absolutely beautiful setting and so relaxing. Actually liked it that there were restrictions for only 50 people, as I can't imagine how crazy busy it would have been if the place was full. By the time I left, I was super relaxed and tired....

By Adrienne C |

This is definitely a can’t-miss experience. The area is very well maintained and scenic and the water feels amazing. It’s very cool how there are varying temperatures you can hop around in. I do wish this site was less crowded so we could really get that tranquil feeling, but that’s out of our control. Another thing to note is the water is very murky so it’s hard to see where you’re stepping / avoid knocking into rocks.

We had the pleasure of going to these hotsprings last evening and were amazed and pleased. There are several pools with the hotest around 103 (guess) and coolest about 80 (guess). The whole pool section is beautiful looking with rock encasements that someone spent a great deal of time putting together. The bottom of the pools are sandy pebbles so very comfortable on the feet. The challenge is that the steps into and between the pools is made from flat rocks so you have to step carefully. After 6 pm the only guests are of the age of 16 or older. Be prepared for total darkness after dark since there are no lights around the pool area or between pools. This can be a challenge. I really liked that the place is not set up as a tourist commerical site - only thing collected is the entrance fee. However, this also means no sales on sight for anything - includng water. You need to bring your own supplies.

Great sunny morning to soak aching bones in the springs. Cost is $15 and sooooo worth it. Wore swimsuit there & then used the changing area to switch afterwards to dry clothing (it's co-ed) Had a GREAT time! The top spring is the warmest & the lowest is a bit chilly after you've soaked in the warmth

We traveled to the hot springs with another couple and were pleasantly surprised at how many springs there were and the beauty. This is very clean and has beautiful landscapes. Very nice restrooms.

By Amy B |

Our group of five adult women took the shuttle to the springs at nighttime. As a lawyer, I cannot believe the potential for liability at the place. It was icy, pitch black and the facilities are lacking. I get that people want to keep it natural, but they could offer a cheap flashlight or put in some low level lights along the walkways. We saw one woman wipe out - unclear if she was seriously hurt - and we had to feel our way into the pool. The changing room is a distance away so we just stripped off our suits (no one could see our nakedness in the pitch blackness) and had to rummage around in the dark for our clothing. Recommend adding cubbies and benches near the pools, lights along the walkways, maybe a guard rail on the rock steps leading into the pool, just to make it a bit safer. Cool experience though and glad we did it.

Been trying to go here for years! Finally got it reserved (free to reserve online). Turns out lots of people cancel day of. Paid $20 cash for each of us at check in and they put a wristband on you good for 2 hours. Got there at 10am. There’s a bathroom that’s really nice and a changing room down nearby that’s pretty dark but fine. Went in at 10am (night time is nudy Rudy and Judy time slots so we avoided that). Very family friendly and many pools. There are chairs and loungers to leave your stuff on but avoid bring valuables. Enjoyed floating around the various pools, some rocks get slimy. Depending on what chair you claim you can get away with flip flops but if a little too far away you may need to brave pebbles /gravel with bare feet to get to pools. 80% you can just deal with bare feet. Bring your own towel. They seem to offer private massages there but we didn’t look into it. Definitely worth a couple hours of your time yo check out. Water was very warm. Not over crowded and a new experience

My husband and I did a hot spring tour in Colorado and this was one of the four we visited.

Strawberry Park Hot Springs greatest strength is it's view. It is by far the most scenic hot spring we went to. We went late October and the snow on the trees was beautiful. Getting to the spring was a trek, but I suppose that's what allows you to soak in such a natural setting.

There are two very large pools in addition to several smaller ones, so if you are looking to soak with a large group of friends, this spring might be your best option. I was a little disappointed by the temperature of these large pools though, they were warm and not really hot.

The smaller pools were hotter, but one of them can only fit 2-3 people, and the other one doesn't have any natural or unnatural seating in it and the rocks were a bit slimy in spots so trying to sit/lean on them didn't really work.

Facilities wise, the changing room is really bad. It's mixed and there was a torn curtain that doesn't offer much privacy. If you're coming here at night when it's clothing optional than it probably won't bother you, but for us we ended up changing in the restrooms, which were actually quite nice but a little bit further from the pools which is rough if you're going during the winter. There were some lounge chairs around that you could set your bags on or dry on, but I don't believe there was any kind of locker/cubbyspace to put your stuff in.

The parking lot was basically a mud pit :P

I'm glad we visited and enjoyed the water and viewsl, but I would not recommend this spring to older folks or people with any kind of mobility issues, since there isn't really seating in the pools and the slipperiness due to algae is a safety concern if you're someone at risk for falls.

If I were a local, I could definitely see coming here a few times a year, but as a tourist I probably wouldn't do a long drive to visit it again since the lack of comfy spots to sit/lay made soaking for a long time impractical.

My family will be in Steamboat Springs over the holiday. It was recommended to go to Strawberry Park Hot Springs vs the one in town. We are a party of 9, so booking online is not possible. Owen at Steamboat reservations suggested calling, (Owen was of great help!). What a waste of time calling. The guy who answered hardly would let me ask or explain anything, just said all must be done online, and practically hung up on me! I do not care how great this place may be, but if one cannot book it and you try to get help, (in this day and age over the phone-goodness), then forget it. Our trip to Steamboat Springs will still be awesome, even without attempting to enjoy these springs!

By Janet N |

There are several pools, each with its own temperature. We were there on a sunny afternoon, there is very little shade. I wish I had brought my water shoes, the pool bottom is gravel. Very easy to get to, beautiful area, nice natural hot springs.

By Summer |

Disgusting and incredibly rude staff. I’ve come several times and will say 10 years ago it was a fantastic experience. My husband and I visited over the weekend, his first visit there. When we arrived the staff rolled their eye and behaved like we were a total burden to them. So weird. Like they hate their jobs. They just don’t care. Whatever, I can get over the crappy customer service but when we went in we found the pools to be intolerable due to the trash floating in them (band aids, Kleenex, and other gross stuff). I get the algae and floaters since this a natural hot spring but they don’t even skim the pools anymore or even try to prevent the slime from building up. I witnessed an elderly lady bust her butt on the steps entering one of the pools as the slippery slime was super thick and very slick on the entry steps. They use to try maintain these pools a few times a day but you can tell they haven’t even tried for months, maybe years. Total waste of time and money. We left after 30 minutes, won’t be back. I couldn’t stand it. Ick!!!

I get they may be short staffed due to Covid but this is a spectacular place and could be really top notch. Don’t open if you can’t do the bare minimum. Too bad. Don’t waste your money or time. Go to Glenwood, Iron mountain and the Glenwood pools blow this place away.

Cheers

This was my 4th time in 10 years to visit these Hot Springs. Although there have been some improvements to the facilities, the management of this place has rapidly deteriorated from even a year ago. I could tell things had taken a turn for the worst upon my phone call to them a week prior to visiting. The individual I spoke with was not at all cooperative and seemed very annoyed that they had to pick up a phone and answer some simple questions. After just 2 minutes, they said to call back on this same number and speak to someone else. My wife and I visited on Saturday, Jan.11. We arrived just as they opened at 10am and payed our $15pp admissions, cash ONLY. Having been there previously, I asked if the gas heater stove in the changing hut was running, seeing how it was very cold out. The man selling the tickets who had a strong middle eastern accent seemed surprised I even knew of that and said that was for overnight guests only. I thought that was an odd change of rules and headed down the path to the Springs to find the changing hut already warm and toasty with a few guests already changing behind the curtains dividing the three stalls. Why would they not be telling people there was a warm place to get changed? Once in the warmth of the pools, I witnessed numerous other people, starting to get changed within the open air stone grotto that hadn’t been told anything about where the bathrooms were or that there was a heated changing hut. Several of the hot spring pools were shutdown with the stone work torn apart and yellow crime tape strung about to alert people of the ongoing construction. It seems that the smaller more private pools are constantly being worked on year after year, yet never completed. While soaking in the large pool, a guest courteously asked us and the other guests if we minded if he used a small speaker to play some low key music. We obliged his request and were rewarded with some cool tunes while we and everybody else soaked up the warm waters. After an hour or so the Middle Eastern man from the ticket window and a big toothless scruffy looking guy, approached the man with the speaker and told him No music allowed! The man immediately shut it off and apologized, but they continued to engage him in a hostile manner. They then tried to take his property and when he objected, told him to leave. This entire scene was uncalled for, as everyone was having a nice time until these thugs showed up and began ordering this paying customer around. How rude. The Springs are beautifully set into the natural surroundings and can be pleasant. However, by the looks of things are going down hill fast as evidenced by what I witnessed during my last visit. I’ll be wary before I make the trip up there again. JC.

We decided to hire a transportation service (Hot Springs shuttle). Very worth the money to guarantee availability to the park and four wheel drive safety. I read that the changing rooms are dingy but I went up to the bathroom house to change and it was a really nice facility. The springs were amazing! Nice relaxing end to a long vacation of skiing. I highly recommend this adventure. My ten and thirteen year old sons LOVED it too.

Strawberry Park Hot Springs is a very unique experience! So beautiful several different temperatures of pools. Massage available. Even some overnight cabins! Great changing rooms now.

By Mariya K |

Our first red flag should have when we tried to call the place to get some additional information. My simple questions were barely even answered and the manner of speaking felt like the person was high. Very unprofessional! We went there in the evening (well before 10pm)There was a very strong stench of alcohol in the air. It was dark, and no ID’s were being checked at all. It was also very unsafe. The walking paths were not lit up and there were a lot of places where there were fall risks. There were absolutely no lights and we were not able to enjoy the woods. The people swimming in the pool looked like highschoolers, and the alcohol smell was very strong. People were very indecently dressed, if they were even dressed at all; there was a lot of nudity and everything that comes with it.

On the next day, we tried to give this place another go. We were almost run over on the path by their oncoming so called “safe” shuttle service. Upon arriving to the parking lot, we were very rudely turned away and told that we could not stay in our vehicle. Our children were very frightened and ran into the car from the extremely rude and unprofessional staff.

We would not recommend this place as part of a great family vacation.

By A1847PEpatriciad |

There are only curtains separating the changing rooms. These are unisex and there is mixed company in the room. The curtains look like they have been shredded by a bear. The middle room has light from a window. The other two are very dark. The bathrooms are up a hill and they are modern and clean.

By Gretchen S |

We went to the springs in the afternoon and had the best time! The whole park area is just stunning with snow covering the surrounding wooded areas, and the 3 pools will totally relax your body. We chose that time of day to be able to see everything, as the nights are super dark around there! We soaked for a long time, then took the plunge into the cold creek! It's what you do!
The one down side was that the changing cabin to get out of your wet clothes was just a disaster. One tiny cabin for so many people was awful, no privacy (which us women really disliked) and people kept packing in the room making it worse. A second changing area is really needed.

By cesarmty |

Well we went around 8pm and it was supper dark, I would suggest for you to take a small flashlight, it was an awesome experience, never done this before.

By Rachel S |

A very nice and relaxing place in the middle of nature. They had different temperature pools for whatever peoples preference was. They provided water but you can bring your own so you don't have to pay. Me and my significant other ended up taking the shuttle up from downtown Steamboat Springs and it was completely worth it. The shuttle accounts for your two hours admission into the springs and you don't have to risk your life going up the rough dirt road to get there! Definitely one of my favorite things I did while in Steamboat Springs 😁

Our family has been coming to Strawberry Park for years. Since the 1970's. Today was our last time!

We had 12:00 reservations for 5 adults and three kids 6 and under. The first problem was trying to charge us $20 for a 3 month old baby who wouldn't be in the pool at all. After informing us this was a rule and he just enforced the rules. He was very rude and his attitude got a little a hostile. The attendant, didn't give me his name, (red beard with glasses) got very perturbed when my wife was handing him our cash money with about a $1.00 in change. He was rude to her and I called him on it. After I exchanged some words he got nasty and handed back our money we just gave him and told us to leave.

Management needs to train their employees in Customer Service which was sorely lacking in this individual and according to other reviews it hasn't been the first time! Management needs to readdress their pricing structure. They don't seem to want to cater to families with children. We ended up giving our reservations away to some foreign tourists. Hope they enjoyed their time there!

We ended up going to the Recreation Center where the kids enjoyed their swimming and rock climbing. More things to do for the kiddos. We highly recommend! We ended up salvaging our day to say the least!

Good bye Strawberry Park! We will never come back!

We’ve heard such amazing things about the hot springs here. The 3.5 hour ride in from Denver was beautiful, as was the unpaved road up to the springs. The trip was easy with light snow however we were rudely informed at the entrance that we needed to leave due to not having a 4WD/AWD vehicle. We were told “it’s not about making it up here it’s that you can’t leave your car here”. Upon going back to the car to figure out more info on shuttles that could take us, another worker came out and watched us and then said “you need to leave. That car is 2WD. Get out of here”, he then followed us to the car. He then replied when asked about when the next shuttle would come through, “they’re private owned. Figure it out”. People in town told us they have a pretty horrible reputation for being hateful and rude after we told them about this.

It's a wonderful spot. Two caveats: the changing room near the springs is unpleasant and shabby. But if you walk up the hill, there is a building with brand-new, spotless bathrooms that is a much better place to change.

Also, the employees at the gate are the surliest and most unpleasant people I have encountered in many years. Really nasty. For no reason. They yelled at foreign tourists who did not understand English well enough.

Otherwise it is a great experience. We loved it on our second visit.

What a fun and relaxing place set high in the middle of the great steamboat mountains. Different hot springs with different water temperatures. 2 hours is all you need. Please take water because you will need it so you don’t dehydrate.

We took the first shuttle of the day from Sweet Pea tours and practically had the place to ourselves - only 7 other people there. I've been there before at night and it was very dark (good for the clothing optional part) and crowded.

amazing hot springs without the bad smell that those places usually have. Beautiful by nature. Nice staff.

Really poor experience at Strawberry Hot Springs with an inhospitable manager. Targeted our group as a “nuisance” without cause and asked us to leave due to “behavior.” Searched our bags extensively on our way in. We witnessed 3 groups go in without such a search. Fairly clear that this was a gendered attack - other, all male groups were not questioned or searched whatsoever. Disgusted by the staff at Strawberry Hot Springs and their lack of respect / propriety for prospective guests.

While the springs themselves are beautiful and relaxing, we found the guest service lacking. We mistakenly forgot to bring cash instead of card to pay, and were turned away very rudely. Forgetting the cash was certainly our mistake, but there was no compassion or care from the staff. Be sure to bring your own towels, as everything at the springs is an additional cost. If it weren't for the staff, we would have given this five stars, as the springs are really quite nice once you get in.

My sister and I had a wonderful experience at Strawberry Hot Springs! We had a relaxing soak and had so much fun talking to the night crew while checking in. They made our experience the best it could’ve been! I highly recommend doing the cold plunge!

When visiting in "Mud" Season or in the winter, make sure your car has good tires. The drive up is an adventure but well worth. Admission is very reasonable, if you ask me. $ 15.00 pp but you can only pay with Cash. They do not accept payments by cc. Changing room is a Cabin with fireplace, very cozy. You can also change in the new facility, which is more private if you prefer. There are no lockers but your can leave your items on the chairs near the pools and it is all safe. The pools and views are amazing. So relaxing. I, personally did not go into the coldest pool but my mom did and loved it.

Great experience. Beautiful unique place. No idea where some of these bad reviews are coming from. We arrived at 3:30 pm via the shuttle company. The time slot was sold out. Sure, there were a lot of people there. But you don’t need a huge amount of space to relax and enjoy. You’re not doing laps. There was nothing gross or unsanitary about this. It’s a natural hot spring, not a chlorinated swimming pool. Ever been in a lake before? Anyway, fun to watch people trying to do the cold plunge in the adjacent stream. And it was fun to try the cold plunge ourselves. There are two big hot pools, one very hot at 106-108 and the other moderately warm. Easy to find a spot on the chairs or rocks to store your belongings. It would be nice to have a changing room that had more than three slots-kind of a long line to change after soaking. Bathrooms were modern and nicely designed.

I did not observe a single person there having a bad time. And anyone in town or on the lifts that I spoke with about the place and the bad reviews on trip advisor said nothing but good things about the place.

Do not miss it!

We loved the natural setting at Strawberry Hot Springs & was worth the "interesting" drive up there. We would recommend water shoes or tennis shoes if you have tender tootsies.

Hot springs at Strawberry Park was one of the most surreal experiences I have had. It was hard to believe this was a natural spring since the water was piping hot. There are pools at different levels to experience varied water temperatures, was so refreshing! After dark you dont have lights around the park hence flashlights through cell phones are the only way you can get into the park and out of it. The experience took away the tiredness from the long drives we have had over the last two days.

Great massage. Pools with water at a variety of temperatures. Relatively natural surroundings compared with the facility in town.

This is a beautiful place and a fun experience until a bunch of little kids show up. I wish it was adults only all the time so it could be peaceful and relaxing. I should have read the other reviews first, you really do need slides or water shoes. The water seems dirty because of all the green algae and I fell on the stairs into one of the pools because it is so slippery. The bathrooms are a long way up a snowy, dirt hill. It would be nice if there were more covered areas so everything does not get wet when it is snowing.
