We visit the house and took the bus tour, as well. The guides were kind and helpful and shares lots of curiosities that TV or internet doesn’t show. We loved the visit!

A modern view on 300 year-old style of living

By franklek |

We joined the Premium package tour that covered a 90 min bus tour, a 25 min Amish Farmhouse Tour and the self-guided Amish village visit. The tour gave us an overall view on the history and current life of Amish people in US. The guide/bus driver also told some latest situation of how the Amish is actually "adapting" to the latest development of the "outside world". E.g. many Amish people have to give up their dairy business because they just can no longer compete. Anyway, this visit reveal some aspects that were not known to me before and has changed by stereotypical view on this group of people.

Take the tor bus ride

By dennisl689 |

The 90 minute tour ride with up to 14 passengers is a must. The driver took us to many back roads with constant commentary on the Amish way of life.

Excellent

By Ruth V |

Was a great experience the staff very kind and the bus driver give us every details during the tour

The Amish Village 🔥

By EDWIN R |

The whole pack drove to PA on a trip. We got the premium package at the Amish Village. The tour is packed of information and they stop you at locals shops where you can buy their products and interact with them. The bus driver Paul is amazing, very humble man with an outstanding sense of humor. Lydia at one of the shops is the sweetest ladies I ever met. Don't go out without trying their homemade ice cream. Beautiful experience!

Must Do

By Janice L |

The learning experience was beyond belief, had no idea the difference between the Amish and the English. It was so informative. I would recommend that anyone that’s in the area take this tour. You will absolutely be amazed.

House and Farm Tour

By Jennifer M |

Very informational and entertaining. The shops have lots to look at and the cinnamon sugar pretzels are the best you could ever have.

Excellent Bus Tour

By Sam R |

The house tour was really interesting, our guide did a great job, and it was neat seeing all the sorts of appliances that the Amish would use. Our bus tour (2:30 on Friday) had an amazing driver who made the entire time super fun. He mentioned being a former teacher, and his skill in teaching people and being entertaining really showed. We fed a bunch of farm animals afterwards, and I always get a kick out of that. My wife and I had a great time!

Amish Village & farm house tour

Excellent experience

By Tammy C |

The farm house and barns are kept immaculate! Everyone was so nice and welcoming our guide did a fantastic job and was very informative

Good all around tour

By Jeanie M |

We had a very knowledgeable bus driver for the driving tour and an equally good tour guide for the house tour! I have been on other Amish Tours yet learned additional things on this visit. We also enjoy walking around the grounds to look up the animals and buildings on site.

Fun times in Amish Country

By April F |

We loved learning more about the Amish heritage and way of life here in PA.
Payton did a great job of explaining the way of life in the home tour (despite her not feeling well). Bob, our bus driver, had great information and made the ride fun and enjoyable. Stopping at Stolzfus farm for treats and purchases was a great way to see business up and close. The self guided tour was fun and easy to navigate. We got some great photos and learned a lot! Great time.

Amish Living

By Antoinette G |

We enjoyed the bus tour and the house tour! It was very imformative especially learning about the Amish versus the English and how they live!

Bus ride is excellent

By Susan L |

Paul The bus driver and tour guide was excellent very informative and great sense of humor. We also did the house tour which it was good but it was way too crowded it was tough to get into rooms that the woman was talking about, it would’ve been great if the amount of people were limited by the staff

Worth seeing

By Inspire725010 |

The small collection of houses (stall with animals, school) was nice to see. Great was the bus ride. Don, our guide told us interesting facts and stories about the Amish way of life. It would be interesting if you could visit a handicrafts company or a farm directly, that was unfortunately not the case. Nevertheless- highly recommended.

Best Amish tour for the price.

By Ferntree |

Lovely tour guide mini bus ride through Amish farmland. We probably wouldn’t have found these beautiful farms on our own. Knowledgeable driver narrated history and modern facts about these peaceful hardworking families. Stops at various authentic Amish businesses added interest. Guided Tour through authentically furnished house added more insight and information. Self guided tour of gardens featured buggies, large and small farm animals who enjoyed pellets purchased from dispensers, furnished Amish schoolhouse, and 2 shops.

Enjoyed House Tour

By jerzy2 |

We took our children here and learned a lot in the house tour about the history and traditions of the Amish. The farm is not Amish owned. The grounds are small and clean. The school house is and home were our favorites. There are many photo opportunities and animals in the barn that you may pet.

Wholesome good fun.

By William |

I’m 48 but I felt like a kid again. This experience was simple, but very fun. Informative, interactive and a wholesome good time. Picturesque farm and house, friendly staff and some cute animals and buggies to pose and play with.

Enjoyed the Amish Countryside

By David P |

The bus tour through the Amish countryside was educational and enjoyable. The guide was comical and well informed.

Amish your a must

By Karen H |

Our courteous and knowledgeable tour guide/bus driver Debbie made our trip.
The 2 Amish farms we visited was a delight especially the ice cream and butter pretzels.
The house tour will forever stay with me. So much to learn.
Our children enjoyed the farm and the scooters.

Educational and Fun Tour

By Cruiser06601526146 |

My friends and I learned a lot about the Amish culture, and were really glad to take this tour. Definitely an eye-opener as some of us had these prejudiced view based on past media (such as the “Kingpin” and “The Witness” movies). It was mixed with good sense of humor and great deal of respect, as we also had some extra questions along the way. Thank you so much!

A Must Do

By True L |

Excellent experience. Very informative and unique adventure. The bus tour and the village are a must do attraction in Lancaster, ask the guide any question you may have and they will answer. Lots of things we didn’t know about the Amish, or misconceptions that were corrected during this tour.

Wonderful.

By Simonsaysholiday |

We took the bus tour and our driver/guide was terrific. He was very knowledgeable and we found all the information fascinating. He drives you past various Amish farms and houses. You get to see a lot of horses/cows in a very different setting. A worth while and a lot of fun. You should definitely take this trip if you visit.

Girls Getaway with Mom myself and my Cousin

By Kathleen O |

The experience was excellent their were 3 of us all adults we did the Premium tour which included a bus tour of the back roads of the Amish country the bus driver whose name was David was excellent he was very friendly and informative. After the bus tour we toured the farm house the woman who guided us was very friendly and knowledgeable. You then toured the grounds on your own there were animals and other structures. Would recommend it for anyone adults and Children

Beautiful sites and very informative

By Flyer41958336386 |

The bus tour was beautiful and very informative, the house tour was also an eye opener, and the village was fun and educational as well.

Informative Tour

By mrregister |

We really learned a lot on our tour. We bought the perm sum package (Farm House, village and bus tour). Well worth the money. Our bus tour guide Paul was outstanding!!!

Worth a visit.

By Laila P |

This is well worth a visit. The Village itself was pretty good. The animals were fun to look and pet. The tour of the house was very good and informative. The best part is the bus tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the Amish culture and we were able to see the beautiful farms owned by the Amish. We learned so much!

Great experience learning about the Amish

By atlmichelle4571 |

This place was nicely set up to depict Amish life. Our tour guide lived in Lancaster and did a great job of explaining the Amish lifestyle and rules and even incorporated my kids into her discussions. They learned so much they didn't know and were excited to see all the displays and buildings on the property. I did think the "farm" was going to be more spread out per the map, but it is not much walking at all. They are also open on Sunday, which was great for us as we were just passing through Lancaster.

Amish

By Teresa M |

Very informative. Everyone was very kind. The bus tour was exceptional! Gift shops were nice and loved the animals. Bus driver was wonderful. She had great information.

Nice experience

By Melissa E |

We enjoyed the amish village. We did the premium bundle, Started with the bus ride which was very good, only thing we did not like was the stop. He stopped at a non tourist spot which I get it but it was a grocery store. Was not that interested in grocery shopping when I am on a getaway weekend. He was very informative of the information on the Amish. Went through the house tour guide was a little boring but got her point across enjoyed the stores that were there I would definitely return. For a rainy day it was fun.

Meh. It was something to do.

By Cee D |

A little disappointing. Thought we would see more places. The tour guide was nice, just wish he had info prepared instead of just requesting questions, which were not always answered.

Well worth it

By Jake V |

Well worth a visit, very informative about the Amish way of life, great tour around the area to see the farms

Interesting

By skychaserCalgary |

This tour was very interesting and gave a great insight into the Amish way of life. We enjoyed being able to walk around and explore the buildings as well as the one room school which accommodated grades 1 to 8. My only frustration was the lack of clean restrooms. I would expect more and better.

Wonderful experience!

By Sue S |

This was an ideal way to learn about another culture while enjoying time with friends. Ginny, our guide for the house tour, was very personable and knowledgeable. Don, our bus tour driver provided plenty of valuable insight into Amish life while driving us around the area. He took us to a local Amish business that sold the most scrumptious pretzels! The village itself was fascinating to explore and the shop had lovely items and charming salespeople. What a great way to spend time with friends while learning about a completely different culture.

Great time.

By nysportsfan45 |

Wife and I went on a tour with the Amish Village. Great place and great company. We took the van ride around Amish town and the driver pointed out a ton of information. We stopped at two Amish stores before heading back to check out the Amish house and farm. They also had gift shops where you can get some things as well as a cute petting zoo.

Highly recommend

By jewell43 |

Excellent tour! We did the premium package and it was totally worth it! We spent a little under 3 hours touring the Amish Village. We started in an old Amish home that was owned by an Amish family but has since been turned into a museum. We visited their farm and then did a driving tour that lasted about 1.5 hrs. Our guide was very informative. We got the chance to stop and purchase goods made by the Amish people. All food was organic and delicious! We purchased the most delicious homemade rolls. My husband ate 9 of them in one day 😂. We also purchased homemade jam, applesauce and other souvenirs. It all goes to support their community. We gained such an immense understanding of the Amish people after this tour. They are incredibly hard working people, humble and kind. I have nothing but absolute respect for them and their way of life. I highly recommend this tour! The kids will especially find it interesting when they realize there are kids who don’t use technology and still enjoy life 😂

Ehhh, not worth it

By Arley L |

It was ok.
The different buggies were interesting.
The schoolhouse was cute except the 2024 wall decorations from the local teacher store that were so out of place it was comical. They should've just stayed with the interesting old primers and supplies.
The house tour was good but the young guide was off the cuff the whole time and sounded unintelligent and ignorant about the Amish.
Overall not worth it.

Very informative

By Karen |

Very glad we took the full tour. We learned a lot from our guide/driver that we would not have known otherwise. We made two stops at Amish homes for pretzels and shopping. My only complaint is the bus moved so fast it was often difficult to see much, but they are dealing with traffic flow.

Beautiful

By Soraida R |

It is a wonderful experience and the people is so amazing .i see the animals and is super excited for me.i will le friend to do it because is a great tri to Lancaster pa.

Informative and beautiful scenery

By Trevor L |

Very interesting and informative, a lot more to the Amish history than I would’ve expected. Our driver for the bus tour was knowledgeable and polite, the stop at Fishers farm stand was a nice touch. Overall a good time best suited for older folks, our grandson who is 8 lost interest about halfway through the bus tour.

An Excellent Experience!

By Kp R |

The driver/tour guide was very funny, amiable and explain everything in detail and very clearly. I like that the package includes stopping at a local amish owned business, which makes the experience more personable.

Fun time in Lancaster pa

By Patty L |

I did the house tour. If was nice and learn some interesting stuff. Then walked around and saw some cute goats. It was nice to do

Very informative

By Tom F |

Movie and tour were awesome! Our tour guide was very good, and explained everything very thoroughly Would recommend a visit.

A must see

By Heather F |

First time to Lancaster area, my husband and I needed an ADA friendly place to explore. We had so much fun and learned so much. My husband wasn’t able to use the steps to do the house tour with me but bus tour was the best driver Don.
We will be back again with our kids next time.

Don’t Miss Amish Village and Coach tour.

By David M H |

The village and grounds are great. We took the same coach tour two years ago, and learned even more with our second tour.

Highly recommend both!

Most best Amish tour yet!!

By Nachman R |

It was amazing!! From the house tour to the bus tour, the farm, all the shops!! It was so entertaining, interesting and educational!!! The kids loved it!! Thank you!!

Not a pleasant Place

By BradLednum |

Didn’t get to take the tour just writing on the experience trying to go for a tour. Arriving at the parking lot, the attendants were very unforgiving with the urgency with how they want to keep it moving. They seemed very annoyed that I was dropping my wife and autistic kid off at the door because there is no parking on site. Had to go to a satellite parking lot.Mind you (Very busy) employees were very rude when talking to you about the cost like they wanted to be somewhere else. Then one group of people waiting for the “house tour” on site had the Guide clapping at them like they were children or cattle. Not close to what we were expecting. Based on this wouldn’t recommend

Knowledgeable guide

By Diana F |

My husband and I were the only ones on the bus tour in December, was like our own private tour. Gary was great and very knowledgeable.

A great learning trip

By est762018 |

A great learning experience. We bought the full package with our tickets. We learned a lot on our tour with a very knowledgeable driver.

Informative tour on how the Amish live

By Judy S |

The tour was very informative and we learned a lot about the Amish community, their families, their beliefs, and how they live. During the last stop on our bus tour, we saw puppies for adoption. I was disturbed because what we couldn't see was a puppy mill behind closed doors. Having worked at an animal shelter for over 10 years, I recognized the signs. This was disturbing, so I have given the tour a rating of 4. The handmade quilts at this last stop were amazing. Make sure and check them out. The rest of the tour was good.

Intuitive experience

By Jessica L |

Overall it was a knowledgeable tour. My sister didn't know a ton about Amish she was in awe about it

Great experience!

By Eladio I |

The tour and presentations were very explicit. Sharon and All were terrific and explained everything throughly. Anyone looking to learn more about the Amish lifestyle and history should definitely consider the Amish Village.

Walking the line to invasion of privacy

By Mrh1085 |

Stopped by the Amish Village on a Sunday. The village and Amish house was nice and very informative like other people have mentioned. We also did the bus tour but this is where things kind of change. Initially I was excited about taking a tour of the countryside. However once we started our journey I started to become less excited and more embarrassed. Taking the bus tour is like going on a dolphin cruise in the ocean, seeing Amish in the natural habitat is not guaranteed similar to the dolphin cruise. It seemed like the drive could go anywhere they wanted and was taking bus loads of people right outside of various church sessions and youth groups. The Amish are just trying to have their way of life and us on a tour bus are pulling up to this property to stare. I suppose it would be different in a private vehicle but a bus full of English profiting off the experience felt a little intrusive.

Lovely time!

By Ally G |

My husband and I had a lovely time at the Amish Village. Loved the tour and learning about the Amish. We took some cute pictures on the buggies, and enjoyed the shops. The home made jams, fudge, and honey are out of this world! Overall a great time.

Very informative and interesting tour. Fun for the whole family

By bobkat111 |

We did the premium package that included the bus tour through the Amish Country side and the tour of a traditional Amish Home. We did make two stops at two different Amish Market Sides to purchase hand made goods and, produce, hand made pretzels, and home made ice cream. At the ice cream stop there is a nice petting zoo with goats, alpacas, cows, chickens, turkeys. bring quarters for the food. At the end of the Amish house tour there is a barn area with horses, cows, goats. They allow you to spend as much time at the barn petting the animals until it closes at pm. The only problem we encountered was one very rude staff member in the gift shop. We accidentally purchased two tickets twice totaling 4 tickets. Two staff members urged us to show our receipt and get the refund for the accidental purchase of two extra tickets. The one rude staff member said no because she turned away other people thinking we were a party of 4. Turns out, their were 6 empty seats on the bus.

Fantastic Does Not Even Begin to Describe Our Experience! Go Here Now!

By Deborah T |

I took my 8-year old granddaughter to The Amish Village over the weekend expecting to expose her to this lovely people's culture and educate her a bit about it. We did the Premium Package which included a guided bus and Amish-home tour, and a tour of the farm with animals that were accessible to pet and touch. Suffice it to say, she was not the only one who receive an education. The tour guides were well informed and personable. The staff were impeccably attentive and gracious. The store we stopped at during our bus tour was lovely -- we bought lots of jams, sauces, and even fresh butter. The animals were tolerant. :-) We were so impressed! Do not hesitate to do these tours. I highly recommend the Premium Package (which does not have a premium price, BTW) for a fully immersed experience. Thank you all so much, including those residents who allowed us to peek into their beautiful lives.

Excellent experience

By Melissa S |

I loved this experience, and I learned so much. Our home tour guide, Glenn, was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. Our bus guide, Dave, was also great! I really enjoyed learning about the history, lives and culture of the Amish. The farm animals were so much fun to feed and interact with also. The premium package was reasonably priced for the experiences. I would definitely recommend it.

You’ll want to see and know more….

By schwarz M |

Great experience. Great explanations. Wish we could have seen and experienced more. Simple self guided visit of what an “Amish village” LOOKS like and bus tour with ONE stop to a local shop.
Staff pleasant - for the most of them. Shoutout to the house guide and bus driver who were patient and able to answer all questions.

Go early so you’ll be able to keep exploring and visit on your own after the tour otherwise you might be left hungry for more.
Some infos/ facts and numbers given by the staff are questionable but overall a cute, simple, tiny bit superficial overview of the life of this beautiful community.

must see and experience

By Craig H |

great house tour to see how the amish are currently living. The bus tour was great and informative would recommend this experience to all.

Don was amazing!

By Vacationer748598 |

Don was an amazing tour guide! He made the experienece. The tour and animals were our favorite parts. The house seemed repetitive to the bus tour.

Would recommend!

By Kings k |

My family and I have been going to Lancaster county to vacation for many years now. It was interesting to learn new things about the Amish community as we visited the Amish Village taking the bus tour and the house tour. Paul was a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable, kind, and also added humor to our trip! I loved being able to stop at a local store on our bus tour. Very interesting and worth the money and time to visit here!

Nice tours but animal welfare not existent

By Victoria B |

We took a bus tour (90min) and a guided tour of the Amish House (25min). Both were well thought out and informative. The buses are quite small, seating about 16 people, so you could ask the driver questions. The driver himself had Amish roots and gave quite interesting facts throughout the drive.
The only thing I really didn't like was the petting zoo. The animals there looked really neglected. It made me incredibly sad. Ponies with matted manes and completely filthy coats, peacocks with feathers falling out, tiny stables with very little straw, so that the animals were standing on blank concrete. The pig's feet also looked really bad and hurting. If you choose to have animals you should take proper care of them and not forget about them. It was sad to see and made me incredibly angry.

Great day in Lancaster County

By Jet733623 |

Good insight into the world of the Amish. We had a great bus tour through Lancaster County and a wonderful tour of a house that resembles Amish houses. Very informative and very well done.

Excellent. Friendly driver and very knowledgeable. Highly recommended. Learned a lot. Enjoyed the ride.

By Steven D |

The driver was friendly and knowledgeable. He answered all our questions. I highly recommend the Amish Village. Good value.

Informative and enjoyable!

By Terrie N |

Very knowledgable bus driver on our tour as well as the guide through the home. Loved the Village with its merchandise. The pretzels and homemade goodies were delicious! I learned a lot of new information about the Amish people.

nice place

By Eugene C |

grat family time . always a great stop. alot of nice and cute things. wife loves this place. just relaxing

Great!

By Zahra S |

We did the house tour! It was short but interesting! We wandered around on the farm for a while afterwards, and we petted the farm animals!

Amish community visit

By A Patel |

The Bus driver drove very fast throughout the tour of the Amish community. I actually visited this place previously also and previous driver took tome and went slowly.
Also the amount of money they charge is not worth it.

Learning experience especially if you have kids!

By angelsmom366 |

We had a great time hearing about how the Amish community live in lancaster pa, and the bus tour visiting the amish run stand we bought some good treats and then comming back and and seeing all the buildings on there land and feeding the horses they were so gentle eating right out of hands.

Amish Village Tour

By Allan Collier |

The Amish Village tour was amazing, loved the Reenactment Village and especially the tour of an Amish home. The bus tour was extremely informative and comfortably, highly recommend this tour!

My 5 time visit.

By LETTYCARD |

We learn a lot about Amish history and traditions.
This is my 5 time coming to Amish Village and in every visit I learn something new.
The staff is very friendly and well educated for the tours.

What a great experience

By Chris D |

We wanted to do this 2 years ago and it rained. We came back and it didn’t disappoint. The Amish are a great group of people and work hard. We don’t appreciate how hard they work. After the tour we went back to the road side store and bought more stuff as well. Our guide was absolutely fantastic

Amish village visit - our takeaways

By Venture19668757273 |

A lovely experience for our family. Enjoyed the detailed narrative on how the Amish lead their lives and the rules they follow as a community. Very intriguing but they are leading a very disciplined life and the key take away for us the community first principle that they use and how they help each other.

A real treat!

By ChrissyFrog |

This was a fabulous tour of an Amish House and mockup village. We went on a bus ride with Mark and saw many of the farms and even stopped at one. It would have great if there were a few more Amish that we could talk to but it was fabulous seeing how they live. The house tour was interesting and I personally loved seeing the schoolroom! This is a great tour if you are in the area!

Informative

By Anette S |

We had a nice guided tour of the house. After that we had a great bus tour with Mark as our guide.
Learned something new

Not completely what we expected

By Aude M |

The museum tour was interesting, but given by a non-Amish person. The bus tour gave us the impression of visiting a zoo... Very unpleasant. In fact, when we booked the tour we had a completely different idea: we thought we'd stop off at some of the farms where the families would explain their way of life, their way of working, their view of modern society and religion, and answer our questions. The visit to the museum and the bus tour were made by two different people who gave us several contradictory explanations.

Great tour

By JDBreedlove |

Fantastic tour. Very comfortable minibus. Chris, very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Well worth the time.

Fun and informative glimpse in to the Amish way of living.

By 5ifamily |

We were in the area for a family wedding and made our trip to the area in to a mini vacation. We had 2 people in our group who had mobility issues. One used a wheelchair they have for guests. This was needed for touring the grounds. Very useful. Those in our group that opted not to climb the stairs to the second floor of the Amish home were able to borrow a packet that went over the details our guide told us on the tour. The tour bus was roomy, clean, and comfortable and our whole group was able to climb on board. The tour driver, Paul, was informative and entertaining. We made 2 stops along the route. Loved the first stand. Fresh produce and gift/craft items were available. The second stop was a dairy and we were too fooded out to get anything. The 90 minutes flew by. The staff and tour guides at The Amish Village were outstanding. Well worth your time and money (VERY reasonably priced for what you get). Highly recommend.

Lost money

By Amalia B |

We have had no chance to experience that. We wrote that our stop on Philadelphia was cancelled and consequentely also the the Amish Tour. Nobody answered.
That's all, lost money.

Real glimpse into Amish Life

By Nathan S |

A different culture living in such an authentic way to their values was demonstrated to us in person. We had a driving tour through Amish Country where we drove through beautiful countryside and hills while given a wonderful description of Amish life and history by the driver. On return we had a tour of an Amish home and were able to explore an Amish farm. Wonderful day trip from Philadelphia and worth putting on your travel list if your traveling this way.

The best!!!

By Tour11494456697 |

Everything was wonderful! The highlight of the tour was the bus tour! Our guide, Bob, was the best! He was so friendly and very knowledgeable!! He made this trip the best. I would most definitely take this tour again. But Bob would have to be my guide!!!

Amazing

By Paula G |

The whole village was amazing every one was very friendly and helpful I bought some cookies there were out of this world wish I had bought some more bought cheese, jam, ornaments

Perfect Family Experience

By Amber C |

Our family absolutely loved our time at the Amish Village. Everyone was so friendly and informative. The atmosphere is organized, laid back & educational. Excellent gift shop & food too.

Worth seeing once

By Sophyaugust |

Not much to say as the people are staying there as in the past. Tried to maintain their identity untarnished in this modern world.

WARNING good but some concerns

By Netmouse R |

WARNING good but some concerns. This has a good house tour and bus tour, with a few animals and a market to buys Amish foods and more. But be aware that that are very steep, long and narrow steps in and out of the house's top floor. Also, the bus tour is 90 minutes with no stop like in the past. The bus goes through areas that have no place to stop if needed for a bathroom. If you have little kids or seniors, or you go soon after a meal, this may be a problem without a solution. Years ago, the bus stopped mid-tour at the Windmill for a free sample of pie and restrooms. That no longer happens with new Windmill owners.

Great Experience.

By LiGhT S |

Excellent people !!! Very professional and polite. This is definitely an experience Our family recommends.we learned so much about the Amish, they are also beautiful people. Thanks for a great day!!!

A must do!

By Sebylita |

Fun and beautiful - insightful and you learn a ton about the Amish community - the bus ride throughout the village is a bit on the long side but everything else was perfect!

Great time for a reasonable price

By Deborah R |

We took the premium tour which included the bus tour, house and village. The bus tour was 90 minutes, the driver served as a tour guide. Having grown up in the area, he was not only knowledgeable, but he made the tour fun and interesting. The house tour was shorter but still interesting. We were able to feed the farm animals, the school house was cool, and there were buggies you could climb in. There is also a covered bridge. Lots of photo opportunities. The village store was ok, it offered the same stuff as other shops in the area. All in all, we had a great time and the price was reasonable.

Amish village

By alu c |

Great place, great personal, how to discover the life of the amish, a lots of informations. A 90 minute tour that I recommend!

Fun and educational for the whole family

By Amber D |

Everyone was friendly and nice at the house tour and village. Our bus tour guide was Bob and he did an excellent job, he was very informative and made the tour so fun!!! It was a great educational and fun activity to do while on vacation from Tennessee.

Educating

By Celeste C |

Just happened to find the place. Loved the bus tour. Learned so much. Girl driving bus pointed out buildings and knew so much first hand. House tour also opened your eyes to their way of life. Fun seeing farm animals in the back.

Excellent Tour!

By Nicolet S |

The tour bus, Gary, was excellent and very knowledgeable! The tour was informative, the bus was comfortable, and the staff was fantastic!

Couples getaway

By DC |

We had an amazing time. Everyone was very insightful. Bob was our bus guide. He is the best. We give him a good tip for sure.

It was OK but I think you can find a better experience somewhere else

By Redhead |

I was very disappointed with the bus ride. Our driver drove super fast and never pointing things out until we had passed by them. She never use directions like “look to your left or look to your right and you will see…” Her commentary on the Amish seemed very disparaging like she doesn’t like them. it almost felt like we were just driving to different locations for us to get out and shop rather than to see the life of the Amish. The tour of the house and farm was kind of cool. I just think it might have been better had they had people at each section of the farm to explain The location. They probably could’ve found some real Amish or Mennonite people to be there. I had a much better time on the horse and buggy ride from another company, that I took through Amish territory as soon as I left this location.

Highly Recommend the Premium Tour!

By Jenice D |

We loved the Premium Tour. Our bus driver narrated so much great info about Amish life. He pointed out & described what we should note along our route, giving us a better understanding than if we’d just driven the back roads on our own. The woman who did our guided Tour of the house also gave great detailed descriptions of what we were seeing & described Amish home life. I loved seeing the farm animals & the school house was perfect. We highly recommend this Tour!! Well worth the small cost!

Best Amish tour in town!

By Alison B |

Our tour guide Gary was awesome! The bus tour was fun and informative and we loved stopping to shop at the Amish store. We also did the house tour and walked the property. We’d highly recommend visiting here, you won’t be disappointed!

Great tours

By Myriam D |

The bus and village tours were so great! It was beyond our expectations. We learned so much about the amish. Worth the 3 hour drive.

Open on Sunday

By Barb B |

First I would like to say it is open on Sunday, all Amish markets and businesses are closed.
We took the bus tour and the house and grounds tour and enjoyed both. Our driver Don was very informative and had many interesting stories. Enjoyed the country road drive.
Would recommend.

Amish all around

By Renee Y |

A great educational tour. I’d say skip the bus tour on a Sunday though. It’s just houses to the left and to the right… unless you know nothing about Amish way of living. Then it’s a must see. Knowledgeable staff and friendly.

Good with the exception of our bus driver

By Diana R |

It was a lot of fun, but our bus driver was a grumpy old man, who talked very loud and aggressive towards us, and got mad when we didn’t have any questions about the tours. We are local so we just did this for something fun to do! But the lady who ran the house tours was excellent! We learned a lot!

Understanding the Amish Way of Life

By Barbara M |

The guide we had for the bus tour knew the community well. The information we learned about the community was amazing. The guide for the house tour was knowledgeable as well. My friends and I were going to Lancaster for a play at the Sounds and Sights Theatre and decided to do the Bus Tour for all three. We made a great decision to do this tour.

Understanding the Amish

By L M |

My husband and I are Seniors and had a young-adult visiting from Mexico so we booked the Premium pavkage of the bus tour and farmhouse tour. Our Driver David was very knowledgeable and authentic as he grew up in the local area. The farmhouse tour gave insights into the daily life of the Amish. The outbuildings had some animals that children could feed. Highly recommend this experience.

Visit Amish Village

By Tina S |

The bus tour was fun, informative and very interesting. Love touring there houses. I learned a lot about the Amish. I would recommend this tour.

Amazing experience! Thank you Bob!

By Aybibi A |

The Amish village is so educational and beautiful! The staff is extremely welcoming. We went on a tour bus with our tour guide Bob. Usually tour buses get boring after a while but Bob made this experience enjoyable! We learned so many new things about the Amish community with Bobs Help! Thank you so much, I’m inspired and blessed to have an opportunity to learn about this beautiful community!

To try

By Monia B |

Toured the farm at a cost of $13. Before going on his own tour of the farm a boy showed us the typical Amish house giving explanations about their way of dressing and the organization of the community. Definitely a place built specifically for tourists, but despite this Recommendation to know a little more about this community that we often met around during our trip.

House and bus tour

By Tony P |

Both tours were very interesting. Tour guides were very informative. We enjoyed the bus tour and seeing the beautiful countryside.

Great Experience

By books2 |

We visited with children ages 9 and 12. The kids enjoyed the experience. We took advantage of the bus tour, the house tour and the self guided tour of the grounds. It was a plus that both guides had grown up in the area, had lots of first hand information and were great at answering questions. I’m usually not a fan of tours stopping at shops. However … Fishers have great baked goods and the best jellies and jams!

Fun and educational

By David Follweiler |

Our visit was both entertaining and educational. The bus tour guide, a retired teacher, knew his stuff about Amish culture and was very likable. Likewise, Anthony, the tour guide on the premises, was very knowledgeable. Seeing the farm animals was a treat. I felt like I bonded with Mr Ed, their beautiful horse.

Pleasant lunch and visit to the village

By Jet01177569271 |

Pleasant car ride in the middle of the
Bird in hand village where we saw various farms, people walking around with the typical Amish cart and visited various refreshment points. Typical and very high level cuisine at the bird in hand market with affordable prices.

Experiencing Amish in America

By terresignsvcs |

Tour was very interesting. Bill gave our house tour and was very informative. He explained the difference in the Amish clothes and hats, explained their use of gas instead of electricity. The bus tour was also interesting. Wayne was our bus driver/tour guide and was very informative. He was hard to understand at times (enunciation) and uses lots of hand gestures such as pointing, describing height, etc. and only those in aisle seats could see and know what he was talking about. Alot of the tour was repetitive so we got the gist of what he meant. We saw many Amish farms, gardens, schools, and families working in the fields, and riding horse and buggies as in their normal daily life. He also took us to a local Amish market where we could purchase jams, breads, other canned items and things made by the locals. When the bus tour was finished we walked around the Amish Village. We saw animals, the one room schoolhouse, buggies, a market, gift shop, and a phone shanty. I highly recommend this tour. My husband and I went back on our own after the tour and drove around and also went back to the market. We ended our time there by eating at Katie's Kitchen, an authentic Amish restaurant and it was very good also.

Very knowledgeable! Worth the price!

By Crystal C |

Our guide on the bus tour was super knowledgeable, we learned a ton about this amazing community. The self guided tour at the village was ok, wish we could've milked or fed a cow maybe. Overall, I felt like we got a great deal for the price! We did all three things they offered.

Great Experience!

By Josh M |

I learned so much that I didn’t know about the Amish! I’ve seen them before, but learned a lot more on this experience. It was great seeing inside of an Amish house and stopping at a Amish business!

If you go on a Sunday, all the Amish folk will be at church

By Sergio M |

I am not sure how I felt about doing this. Felt a bit invasive watching people living their day-to-day life. But if that doesn't bother you, come! I took the tour, and the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. I never knew too much about Amish folk beforehand, but I felt as if an Amish person was explaining all their customs.

Amish Village - Great for all ages!

By westiredell4h |

The mini-bus tour was excellent. We went when it was raining heavily, but the driver was very professional and informative and we got all of our questions answered. The sample school house and sample Amish home were both accurate and my young son, age 4m loved the animals at the Amish Village (and seeing the buggies and seeing the similarities / differences between the Amish school room and his school room). The two shops on site were very nice as well.

Underrated

By Michael G |

I went in questioning the authenticity of the house and farm tour as the place was run by non-Amish people. But I discovered that the people who run this business have a deep respect for the Amish and the bus tour showed the farms and buggies and people and taught me a great deal about it all. I would thoroughly recommend doing the premium tour or just the bus tour.

Midsummer tour of Amish community

By Janice |

The tour of the house and simulated village was very informative. The kids loved the farm animals especially. We had a wonderful driving tour that lasted about 90 minutes and took us past pristine farms scattered throughout the local community. Our driver had many thoughtful stories to share, and we left with a greater appreciation of these kindred people.

Come and Experience a Different Way of Life!

By Nanette H |

Overall, all the tours gave great insight into the Amish way of life. However, during the tour throughout the city on the bus, the bus driver kept repeating the same information repeatedly and eventually, it became annoying. Besides that, it was worth the time and money to gain educational information on the lives of the Amish!

Fun afernoon

By BybeeGrama |

The tour guide of the house was very good, told us lots of things about Amish lifestyle. The grounds with the animals was fun, the children really enjoyed them. The bus tour was great, heard new things about the Amish and the tour guide was friendly and nice. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

A Nice Time at the Amish Village

By Ariel W |

This was great! We had the premium package. It started with a really nice tour of the house, and then we were able to just go out into the yard and see the animals (horses, a mini-horse, a pig, turkeys, ducks), as well as a blacksmith shop and a little schoolhouse. Then the van tour was 90 minutes long and we saw farms, formed, houses — and we got lots of information and insight into the lives and history of the Amish!

Informative tour

By Jay L |

Great tour for the price. Guided tour of the homestead was nice and really liked the bus tour. Also, really like the stop at the Amish market.

Fantastic tour option in Amish country!

By Marisa Ashton |

Absolutely loved our experience here! We did the Premium Package Tour on March 13th, which included the farmhouse tour, a 90-minute bus tour, and a self-guided tour of the rest of the grounds where the farmhouse is. Joe and Kristin were wonderful guides, and we really enjoyed the entirety of our time here! The bus portion of the tour allowed us to stop at two local Amish businesses (a grocery store, and a country store/pony farm), and it was really cool to interact with Amish locals and see more of how they live. I certainly think you get your money's worth out of the premium ticket, and I already can't wait to come back!

Premium tour

By Olivia H |

We did a premium tour. Amazing! The bus tour is extremely informative, and there is time to ask questions. The house tour and village itself gave a great incite into the home life of the Amish. Very inexpensive for the amount of information, history, and general culture. I (25) enjoyed the experience with my grandmother (77). Great for all ages

An excellent visit!

By Susan T |

We had an excellent visit! Our bus guide was very informative as was the guide for the house tour, and the farm animals were a big hit with the kids. Highly recommend doing the bus tour. It's very informative and the stop at the Amish store was delightful.

Excellent

By George K |

Paul our bus driver was awesome. So funny and knowledgeable about amish. Pointed things out we wouldn't know. Answered all questions.

A must visit

By Discover21807 |

Awesome tour and very interesting about life of the Amish.
Our tour guide Wayne had lots of interesting facts about farmers and there lives .

Great Time

By A & M Travels |

AJ is a great tour guide very knowledgeable. You can tour the house and walk around the village, they have rescued farm animals, an Amish School house, blacksmith shop, several buggies and a play area for children. They also have several gift shops, one in the house and one in the Village. Take some quarters with you if you would like to feed the animals, they have feed machines. They also have a bus tour; we did not do this trip.

It was awesome.

By Corinne H |

It was very interesting experience. It was fun to see how they live. Jackie our tour guide was awesome. She knew so much about them. She took us all around the town. She was able to answer all our questions.

Nice visit

By FernWanderlust |

Enjoyable experience. Nice guided tour. Nice area to walk and visit the animals. There’s a little general store with a variety of baked goods, snacks etc.

It was a good visit, I’d recommend, but no need to return.

A treat for all ages!

By Amanda G |

Loved the bus ride and seeing the beautiful landscape. We learned some cool things about how the Amish live. The kids loved seeing the animals.

Changed my mind

By Angela S |

It demystifies a lot of beliefs about Amish people and instead gives a valuable lesson about tolerance, community and building bridges. You can also find several organic products and visit other stores near by.

Worth it!!

By Loretta D |

Educational and enjoyable. The guided house tour and premier bus tour was a great way to experience the uniqueness and beauty of the Lancaster region.

Wonderful experience, highly recommend!!

By Wendy A |

Don was a wonderful tour guide!! He was so knowledgeable and told us many interesting things about the Amish that we had no idea about. He spoke clearly and loud enough so we could all hear him. He was a great driver, making stops along the way so we could see everything. The Amish Village was beautiful. We were able to go inside different buildings, see how they live. The schoolhouse was great! We also found nice gifts at the gift shop. Everyone was so polite and welcoming! Highly recommend this tour to truly understand the Amish lifestyle!

Interesting Tour of Amish Country

By Jen |

My husband and I took the bus tour with our 2 year old daughter. We really enjoyed learning more about the Amish way of life and the tour guide was very informative. The stop at the Amish market was a nice opportunity to see more of the Amish world and buy some fresh fruit and yard decor. It was fun to walk to grounds and see the animals as well.

A must do

By lendersanja |

Very informative and entertaining bus ride. The stops were great. Interesting guided tour of the house. Beautiful recreated farm. The rescued animals seem to be in very good hands here. But why does no employee keep an eye on the fact that children do not chase the animals or behave respectfully?

Wonderful start to our day in Lancaster.

By Patrick D |

Just did the house and self guided tour due to travel constraints. Brooklyn was amazing and we learned a lot about the Amish. The stores, market, school house, and farm were all amazing. The sweetest and most gentle farm animals I've ever encountered because they are loved. Incredible photo ops.

It was ok

By craig s |

The tour was partially informative but the guide repeated himself numerous times as if he didnt realize he already said the things...it was funny at first but became increasingly annoying to the point we couldnt wait for it to be over. The grounds were good and house tour was ok..wish the house reflected a current amish home though

Visit on September 15, 2025

By Bridget O |

Really enjoyed our tour. Our guide was excellent. I really enjoyed stopping at the craft shop. I also enjoyed the self tour.

Well worth your time

By Stan P |

This is an excellent way to learn about the Amish life style and ways. I suggest both the house and 90 min bus tour

Great Peek into a Different Culture

By mary z |

We purchased the Premium Package. It included a bus tour around the community and a visit to a local store where we could buy baked goods and crafts. Learned a lot in our 2 and a half hours there.

Good Intro into Amish culture

By MissLoraLane |

For someone who has never experienced the Amish culture this would be a good start for you.
Although it is touristy, and there are some inconsistencies with tour guides who contradict each other, it’s still a great place to visit if you can weed through or overlook some of those inconsistencies.
There are several options at the Amish Village. You can pay for the bus tour, and the house door, and touring the farm or a combination of all of them.
Another review said that their bus tour did not make a stop in the middle of the 90 minute tour. That is not the case for all of the bus tours at the Amish Village. There are different guides for the bus tour so one guide may stop at a local Amish grocery store, market, or farm, and another tour guide may not. On our particular tour, the bus did stop at a local farm where there were rest rooms as well as a little store and farm animals to look at as well as a food stand. I don’t remember the name of the farm. It might’ve been windmill farm and the Amish woman owner’s name was Linda. We had taken the bus tour the year prior and our bus tour guide stopped at an Amish market. I will say there is some inconsistencies recounting Amish culture between the bus tour guide who narrated our bus tour and the docent that let us through the house tour.
After the bus door, we toured the house. Keep in mind this is a two-story house and there is no handicap accessibility for the second floor. There are some steep interior winding steps to make it to the second floor and then you exit via an exterior metal staircase to the outside attached basement kitchen.
The farm is an enclosed area with many outbuildings and stationary Amish buggies all for photo ops. There’s a little country store on the property as well as a school house that you can tour. and a covered bridge. There are animals that roam about like chickens, ducks, and you can visit the little barn that has other animals as well. It’s a self contained farm. It’s not very big so it is walkable. There are brick and mortar bathrooms on the property.
Overall, it’s a great experience for someone being newly introduced to the Amish culture.

Amazing View

By Sandy L |

The views were amazing from the hotel. The hotel was quite and clean. It was relaxing and very friendly staff. The location was convenient to everywhere.

Scenic and Informative

By Snovello |

The Village and Amish home was interesting but the 90 minute bus trip was extremely informative and scenic. Worth the upgrade cost to add the premium tour bus trip.

A Bus Ride in Amish Country and So Much More

By robertkH4924BH |

I took the bus tour that rode out into the countryside. The driver was very nice and was just full of knowledge about the Amish people and their lives. I learned so much information that I would never have known if I did not take this bus trip. My admission also included the house tour and the farm. Feeding the farm animals was fun also,

It was fun

By Ceetje01 |

You really can't avoid booking a tour. We took the house tour and then the bus tour. The tour of the house was well worth it and interesting. Afterwards you could walk around the grounds yourself (animals, school, covered bridge, shop). Then the bus tour started. We had a funny guide, he chatted non-stop but he was comical. What you see on this bus tour you can also do yourself, but because of this tour we knew exactly what was and was not an Amish farm and we stopped at a small supermarket where many Amish came, we probably wouldn't have figured that out ourselves. The kids also found both tours interesting to do.

Tour of farmhouse, nice grounds to walk around. But the best part was the bus tour thru the Amish countryside.

By Elizabeth L |

The bus tour was great. Our driver/guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining as well. Definitely don’t skip the bus tour.

Great experience

By Tammy B |

Tour was great! I learned a lot about the Amish people. Changed misconceptions that I had about their life style. The tour guides were very informative and made it enjoyable.

Don’t go on a Holiday!

By Voyager29937684307 |

My son and I booked the deluxe package so that we could get the full experience. We arrived and were directed to go walk around on the farm before our bus departed. We were then taken on an hour and a half bus ride while receiving historical facts about the Amish. Unfortunately, it was Good Friday so a lot of the Amish businesses were closed so we were not able to visit them. The bus was also hot and didn’t have any air conditioning.Once we returned back to the location, we were getting ready for the house tour. Unfortunately there were so many people in the house tour that my son and I ended up walking out and not completing the tour. My suggestion would be to book as early in the day as possible, especially if you don’t like too much of a crowd. The farm tour was decent. There wasn’t as many animals as one would expect on a farm. I don’t feel like I got a good value for the price that I paid for myself and my son. That may be due in part to the fact that it was a holiday and everything was closed. I would, however try this tour again maybe on a day where the businesses were open and we were able to see more of the locals in their every day life and have more interaction.

A visit unfortunately only in English but animated by a dynamic and friendly guide

By julien b |

Take the premium pack with the bus tour because that’s really how we best discover the world of the amih community.

A ride back in time!.

By Matthew M |

The trip was fun, educational and a nice experience. The bus driver was knowledgeable and friendly. Also, the house tour was worth it.

Liked the tour

By karen k |

I really enjoy the Amish village tour. I took the premium tour so that included the bus. The bus tour was really the best part of the whole thing. The person who is driving the bus, gave us a lot of information on how the Amish live I found it to be extremely helpful in learning more about the Amish.

Great experience! don't get to Whoopie pies

By Kanyarat B |

Satisfied with the program! I booked the wrong day but the staff helped me out which was fantastic, could have been more friendly, or maybe just me, having too much expectation but how could I ask for more. Things went smoothly. I went with my mom. She had a great time there. We did the ground tour and bus tour. The bus Tour was great. The driver was very funny and very knowledgeable, recommended. Don't forget to try Whoopie pies!

Learn about the Amish

By christiansimms |

We learned so much from the driver. He wasn't Amish but he lived there all his life and he knew everything. This was a very entertaining experience -- sit back and relax in the tour bus, get a tour of the house, and chill out in the big backyard with animals and everything.

The Amish Village is a Must Visit

By katietwelve |

Did the whole package including the house tour and bus tour. The tour guides were great for both. The farm animals were all rescues, special needs, and well cared for. It's reasonably priced and obviously family friendly. I find the Amish people fascinating. This experience really educated me about this community.

Most worthy of a visit

By RonboNJ |

I know there are many reviews from visitors who took the bus tour, but in our case, we were short on time and were looking for something simpler.

If you find yourself in that same predicament, I would recommend the $12 house tour which we thought was a reasonable price for the experience we had.

I do want to give a huge amount of kudos to the young woman who led the house tour. She was amazing! I know she must give that same tour hundreds of times a month, but her knowledge of the Amish people and their customs is impressive and she delivers the oral history in a fluid, easy-to-digest manner. Just a sensational tour guide who made the entire experience that much better.

After the tour, you are let out in a mock village to walk around on your own. While that may sound kind of lame, it was actually quite enjoyable given the fact you walk through multiple areas where you can pet and feed many live animals including horses, goats, donkeys, and chickens. If you have kids with you, this will perhaps be the highlight of their visit. So, for the $12 price tag, the tour and walkabout were definitely worth it.

All You Need Is Right Here

By Gia481 |

The Amish Village had everything we wanted in a tour to Amish country, The house tour was very informative and Bill, our guide, was clear and spent the time needed in explaining how the previous Amish family lived in the home.

The bus tour was a nice drive and we were will informed on how to identify an Amish home. We stopped at an Amish business, Busy Bee. The pretzels were lite and flaky. The organic, handmade essence oils were very fragrant. I picked up a number of items. Best part....credit cards accepted.

Upon return to the village, we strolled the barn and schoolhouse. The animals were so sweet and it was really nice to have the option to feed them. The 2 markets are very good too as we were able to pick up some souvenirs from our trip.

I would definitely recommend The Amish Village and look forward to return in the near future.

Leaned a lot about the Amish people and their culture. Live the Amish town and people.

By Grant H |

Enjoyed the house tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. Also the tour around town was very interesting. Learned a lot about the Amish culture.

Great new perspectives

By Susanne |

It was a very special place. We booked the Premium Package and enjoyed the bus trip. The house tour was marvellous, too. In the ship we got pretty memories.

Great tour/repetitive guide

By Melissa S |

Overall we really loved The Amish Village! We learned lots of interesting things about the Amish history and current culture. A great look into a different way of life.
Our house tour guide was excellent, but our bus tour guide, though he did share much good information, was very, very repetitive which made us feel a bit like we didn’t get our full money’s worth. Some things were literally said 10 times during the 90 minute tour. Still, I would not hesitate to recommend the tour - just hope you don’t get our guide.

Awesome!

By Jesús C |

Excellent insight into a unique culture. The guided tour was priceless. It was very nice to have material in Spanish for my friends.

A step Back in Time; Exploring Amish Village Charm

By Rachida O |

Visiting the Amish Village was a delightful journey into a simpler, peaceful way of life. The scenic countryside, horse-drawn buggies, and beautifully handcrafted goods created an unforgettable experience. Learning about Amish traditions and values made me appreciate their unique culture even more. A perfect escape to unwind and gain a fresh perspective on life!

Tour bus was a bit long and repetitive but staff was helpful and friendly particularly during check in.

By Jim B |

We went on a Sunday so the bus tour did not stop at a local Amish business as they don't work on Sunday's (good for them). The 90 minute tour was too long. The driver repeated himself many times as time went on. We did learn some interesting facts during the tour but it could be a 30-45 minute tour to take in what we saw and learned. We were on time constraints so we didn't do the House tour but did tour the grounds. It was OK. Had several animals and got to go into a school house and see some animals.

Amish Village Disappointment

By guest |

The tour of the farm house was well presented and informative. The bus tour was not worth the time or money. The guide did not appear to be well versed and preferred to answer questions generated by the tourists as opposed to having a well prepared narrative. Very dissapointed in the condition of the animals on premises as well.

One day at the Amish village

By GWENAEL R |

Very interesting visit, we learned a lot on the Amish community.
The stop at the Amish market is a little bit « business «  oriented according to me.
Too many people at the same time for the visit of the Amish house.
But once again this remains interesting.

Educational and fun

By Nina Pete N |

Kind and knowledgeable staff. Well maintained grounds. Educational and fun but not exploitative of the Amish which was great. Enjoyed seeing the farm animals. Easy to book and find the place. Not too expensive and worth the cost.

Very Informative

By Keleena G |

It was a very fun experience. We went as a family, and the sessions were very informative. I definitely recommend taking the premium package because it includes everything, and you learn a lot. The staff was super helpful and respectful. There was a petting section for animals, including horses, donkeys, sheep, goats, and a pig. Totally worth it, and highly recommend this trip.

Tour Amish County

By janette m |

Wonderful experience, very kind and helpful staff, we felt we knew more about the Amish . Pleasant bus drive , very good remarks ,nice stops.

Definitely a must see

By Samnkidz |

Wow!!! Wow!!! What an amazing experience for families, couples and individuals. You are made to feel so welcome. Get to see inside a traditional house, farm and a bus tour of the community. Our guide Max was extremely knowledgeable and answered our questions with confidence.

Great tour

By Jean N |

Great tour very knowledgeable about the Amish. Both the driving tour and the house tour were wonderful

Amish village family tour

By Arruj H |

Overall a nice experience. We went on a Sunday, all the Amish businesses were closed. Would recommend going any other days.
Would recommend the authorities for improve of cleanliness of the restrooms.
Also I don’t see the point of infant tickets being half priced of adults. Almost every place that I have visited, never charge for an infant.

Breathtaking scenery, comfortable van ride through mile after mile of Amish farm country, & tour of house, school, and s

By Maryanne D |

My husband and I appreciated the throughly educational and scenically beautiful tour of the Lancaster Amish country. Our guide was well versed in area farm details and trivia stories. We stopped at a delightful farmers’ market to enjoy a varietyof local fruits, vegetables, and autumn flowers for purchase. The farmhouse afforded a close look at family life including the hard work involved to maintain a home without modern conveniences as well as typical schoolhouse, blacksmith shop, and market. All in all a tremendous value for those seeking an overview of the Amish lifestyle.

Informative Tour

By Sightsee08391340005 |

We come to the area often and this is the first time we have done this tour. It was excellent! The tour guides provided information we haven't heard on other tours....very informative!

Nice overview of the Amish Community

By Phillysub |

Interested in learning about the Amish, and the Amish Village provided a lot of info. We booked the premium package, where we went on a bus tour of the area. Tom was our driver/tour guide. He pointed out many points of interest in our tour. The tour is mainly a drive through the back roads. Tom pointed out the various Amish homes and fields. Since part of our trip was through pouring rain, Tom did a good job not allowing the weather to interfere. Part of the trip was a stop at Fisher's Produce, which is an Amish-owned roadside store. We saw many fresh produce and baked goods (we opted not to buy at the time, but did return on our own the next day to make purchases). After the bus tour, we got a walking tour through a house that was setup as Amish. Our tour guide explained the life styles of the Amish. She did a fairly good job and invited questions. After that tour, we got to roam around a farm area where various animals were penned or roaming. They then have a school house and a small store. Overall, a nice presentation of the amazing Amish.

Amazing!

By WalterVH |

It was an amazing experience and I learned a lot. I can only recommend it. Everything is organized well from the beginning to the end. The buss is comfortable and the driver was excellent. He interacted with us and explained everything very well. The museum also was part of my tour. The tour guy, I believe his name is Joe, was able to make this tour through the museum a real experience. Great job!

A must stop every trip!

By Anita C |

We stop every trip we take to the Lancaster area. Love the store with the canned goods. Love that you came up with a safe way to give taste samples since covid.

Great family friendly activity

By Destiny B |

Loved the overall experience! I don’t think the bus tour was worth the time or money though, because I felt like most of it was simply the tour guide pointing out which houses and fields were Amish or English.

Great way to learn about the Amish. Guides were so knowledgeable and open to all questions

By bujusanchez |

Our first time in Lancaster with our kids. Our bus and farmhouse guides were excellent. We loved the stops at the Amish businesses on the bus tour especially the ice cream one. The kids also enjoyed petting the animals on the farm. It was a wonderful experience for all ages. Highly recommend

Bob is the Best Guide for Amish country

By FrankT |

We visited on a school trip and had Bob, one of their amazing guides, give us the tour of Amish country. It was great! We learned a lot, saw some great sights, and the kids were enthralled. Highly recommend taking one of their tours!

Beautiful Day.

By Emilywise |

Very informative. Amish tour bus showed us incredible farm land, business and homes. It was not mentioned on the website the Monday we went was a holiday and all Amish businesses were closed. We found this out after the tout began.

The lady who drove the bus was knowledgeable, but kinda talked down to us. She stressed before we left at length, not to take pictures of the Amish people. Then during the tour she repeated it like 15 times. Yo, we got it the first time!.

Stopped by to have a picture of the Amish village

By kterm |

We were in Lancaster exploring the Amish culture and try to get away with all the tourist stuff so we stop by the Amish village which has a replica town of how the Amish lived. They have a gift shop in front and you have to have a ticket to visit the site, or you can do a tour with a movie and a tour guide to walk you around we chose to walk around around ourselves. There are some cows and goats some buggies on site a school and a workshop and a couple of gift stores. There’s also a covered bridge with lots of history during throughout for sure would do this again. They also have a bus chair that takes you out to the Amish country and you stop a few different stops. We chose not to do that. It was hot, but they do vans. There is no restaurant, but they do have drinks and snacks in the gift shop plenty of parking and a good place to go as a group.

Excellent experience…👍👍👍

Our bus tour guide was outstanding with his knowledge of Amish life…Took any questions and always had answers…..Very comfortable 1 -1/2 hours tour….If you buy “Premium “ tour .. get 45 minutes tour of Amish house and life….Again… very informative and worth it.

Great way to spend a day in Pennsylvania!

By Karla H |

Great trip! We had a wonderful tour guide who was very informative. We learned so much and had a great time. I would highly recommend!!!

Wonderful adventure

By Lutelia B |

Best experience ever on a tour. The tour of the house was so informative and the guide very friendly and the same for the guide on the tour bus. He stopped at the best Amish store and knew all about the residents and businesses. I encourage anyone visiting Lancaster to purchase the tour. It is well worth it!

Very Informative and Interesting

By bobkat111 |

The tour of the home was very authentic, interesting, and informative. The farm was nice petting the goats and horses. They also did a nice bus tour where they took us to see some Amish stands of home made goods.

Amazed

By Dan Toro |

It was a great trip to learn how the amish people lived their lives on the daily basis. We love the trip it was very educational and worth while!

Learned Lots about the Amish

By Mary M |

We had a great time at The Amish Village. We took the 90 minute ride with Don and learned a lot about the Amish people. The house tour and village was lots of fun, especially all the rescued animals they have.

Amazing trip to see different world.

By Dorota G |

Excellent family trip, loved amish home and animals. Paul the bus driver was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic capturing attention of even the youngest passengers.

Amazing little stop

By ZL4 |

We arrived right as they opened. Everything was organized for how small the inside welcome center/gift shop is. We took the bus and walking tour. Both were great and gave different perspectives from history to daily life in the present. The different outbuildings are all very nice to walk through and explore. Several little shops along the way. Stopping at a farm for some baked goods and meeting Rachel was our high point. Lovely way to spend about four hours. Our Bus guide was amazing, knowledgeable and super friendly. My bf had never been to PA so this was perfect for him on our first day there.

Great insight into the Amish lifestyle

By Tan T |

We booked our tickets online and the process was very easy. The meeting place was very easy to find with clear signage. The tour was very well paced. Mikayla was very engaging with the house tour and was thorough when answering questions. David shared great stories and was very detailed when talking about many customs and traditions. The shop had beautiful gifts for all budgets and age range.

Amazing Amish Village Tour

By Bobbie M |

The experience was amazing! I did the premium package which included a 90 min backwoods bus tour, a 25 min tour of the Amish Village House and then a self guided tour of the grounds. Delores our bus driver was fabulous! She had so much personality and insightful information. The young man who did the house tour also had a great delivery. I loved seeing all the animals and feeding them. Truly it was so worth the time and really was worth the price which was very reasonable. I would highly recommend this tour.

Enjoyable visit

By Lucy B |

It is a cute little village. We took the house tour and then toured the grouds. The house tour was informative about Amish home life and the guide was well spoken. We feed some animals, bought some fresh treats and wandered the goft shop. It was a nice stop on a Sunday when most places are closed in the area.

Pleasant tour of Amish life.

By Forrest F |

My girlfriend and I had a lovely time riding the bus, and seeing the examples of Amish life. Much appreciation to Paul, our driver, and guide. He was personable, relatable, and hilarious. Also quite knowledgeable to our questions. We stopped at an Amish business and made a couple of purchases. I would recommend for anyone coming up to the area.

Must Visit 🙂🙂

By Brenda S |

Absolutely educational!!
Extremely educational for those individuals without any knowledge of the Amish Community.

Beautiful Experience

By Tatyana C |

The best family outing we had summer 2024 . I say that because we were actually able to explore without feeling like we were being rushed or closely watched . My kids got to feed the horses , goats , and hogs. Chickens were walking and running around . It was beautiful.. Out bus tour was done by a man named Bob, whom I thought was very knowledgeable and funny . I really enjoyed it and we will be back within the next 2 weeks !

So much fun at Amish Village

By Claire F |

Absolutely loved learning more about the Amish and seeing where they live and all the many things they do. We were so impressed by the tour and grounds! We had a great time!

A worn tourist trap

By Berit A |

We, a family of four with half-grown children, think it was a tourist trap that was not worth the money. Read a little about what is characteristic of the community from home, and then drive around the area and see the houses, fields and people. Visit one of their small shops and buy specialties with you home.

Worth a visit

By Christoph1987 |

Beautifully maintained property with a well executed and friendly tour.

I did the house and bus tour and it was very informative and well paced.

Absolutely Excellent!

By Robert S |

The Amish Village is a great place to visit. It is a museum that showcases most all aspects of Amish life without being intrusive. My wife and I did the premium tour and were incredibly glad we did. Our bus tour guide was Dave who did a phenomenal job of driving us around and showing us various aspects and features of Amish life. He only works during the summer so if you go around that time, you might want to look for him and get on his bus. The house tour, grounds, and animals were great. All together we spent 2.5 hours on site. Tour is highly recommended if you are in the area.

Great

By Daniel C |

It was very interesting, the guides were good and fluent and provided us with informative as requested the tour was interesting, and it was very interesting to see the Amish life, one thing I wish and was missing was meeting actual Amish peaple, we only heard about them from others

The Amish Village Experience

By Robert C |

I got together with my brother and cousin. My brother flew in from California, and my cousin drove up from Maryland, and I drove in from Long Island. We all loved the Amish Village tour, and the tour bus was comfortable, and Bob, the driver, was very knowledgeable and informed us of all the wonderful sites to see as we were passing by them. It's definitely an exciting and wonderful tour to experience, and the animal petting areas are great as well. All kinds of ducks and swans and chickens walking all around as well !!!! Enjoy!!!

Recommend this tour to learn more about the Amish community

By Carol |

My family and I enjoyed the trip a lot. We did the premium tour package. The bus ride was also very comfortable with an AC, and the driver/guide was very thorough. It was nice to stop at one point to enjoy some merchandise and support the Amish community.

The Amish Village

By Jami B |

We really enjoyed the tour and the area to review. The people there were very helpful and it was a fun experience. I would recommend going early to get a time for the van tour also.

The ONLY way to go.

By Adam B |

A good experience and explanation of Amish and Mennonite life in Lancaster county. The driver/tour guide was born in this community and played in the local fields and streams as a kid. The house tour guide was AJ and he was fantastic! With a wealth on knowledge and a dash of humor he gave us a tour and history of the roots of Amish in America.

Great for a farm experience with kids

By Leslie K |

This was a good experience for the house and your of the farm. It is interactive with the ability to pet and feed all animals. The house tour guide was informative and clearly knew her info; however, this homestead is not currently being used by Amish family members.

Tourist attraction

By Samantha L |

Just another money grab for tourists. Was under the impression we would see at least one Amish to give us the tour of the house. The person who gave us the tour sounded like he forgot his script and when asking questions he replied back with a guess, the bus tour was a complete waste of money. 100° inside the bus with no working AC, driver should’ve drove back and put us on another bus. Learned somethings but after a while the tour got repetitive, pointing at every Amish house and what they have outside, felt like we were at a zoo watching their every move. Def skip out on that.

Local who did a touristy tour and loved it.

By Jen R |

I am born and raised about 5 miles away from this popular tourist attraction and I learned things about the Amish that I never knew before. The guides were well informed and knowledgeable. The staff was friendly and patient. If you’re looking for a deep dive into the Amish life and community, look no further than Amish Village!

Loved it

By XSki007 |

A very worthwhile 2-3+ hours.
Walk around the farm, visit the farmhouse and take the bus ride into the countryside.

The bus ride was the highlight. Probably 90+ minutes long and about 10 in a bus with a fantastic narrator. Learned a lot. Stopped at an Amish country store.

Great day.

Excellent , so much to see do and visit

By Elaine S |

The staff were highly knowledgeable on the life of the Amish especially the bus tour guide. The grounds were clean and easy to maneuver. We recommend it all!

The Amish Way of Life.

By Charlotte G |

This was our second time visiting The Amish Village. The first time was 3 years ago with our daughter who had not been to Lancaster before (we have many times). She loved the tour. This time we were with another couple who had not been to Lancaster. They too loved the tour. David, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable about the area and the Amish way of life. We love visiting Lancaster.

Fantastic Tour

By MissLoraLane |

The Amish Village is a fantastic place to visit. There’s many things to do at the village. Parking is in an asphalt lot. The visitor center/gift shop is where you buy tickets for your day and experience there. There’s many ticket combinations. We took the highest package where we had a 90 minute air conditioned bus tour which seated 14 people. We only had about 10 to 12 in our bus. Our tour guide, Glenn, was fantastic and very knowledgeable about the Amish and Mennonite in the area. He took us on a back road tour of Amish country. We passed Amish homes that were beautiful, some of them were opulent and modern. They live in huge modern day homes. Some live on farms and farm houses but many of them live in brick ranch homes, and split entry homes with siding and beautiful modern farm homes that you would see on HGTV although they don’t have electricity. Some of the back roads are bumpy in the bus. The best seat on the bus is the back row. in the middle of the tour, we stopped at an Amish owned and manned produce store called fishers produce. I believe it was in Paradise PA. Lydia Fisher one of the owners along with her husband. Amos has a quaint store. I bought one of her pies that she baked. It was fantastic. She was very sweet. After the tour bus returned back to the visitor/gift center. We took a 25 minute tour of the Amish farmhouse that was on the property there. It started out with the docent talking to the group who were seated on wooden benches in the beginning of the tour in like the keeping room. And then it went through two floors of the Amish farmhouse, and then ending in the summer kitchen at the bottom/basement floor. And then you can tour the property which included two other small shops where you can buy souvenirs and jams and jellies, etc. It also included a school house and a barn with farm animals, such as Molly the mule and white feathered turkeys, peacocks, pigs, goats, cows, other barnyard animals. You can take your picture at the little small covered bridge or Amish carriage, etc..
Well, worth the price it was $35 for the day per person. We would totally go back to the Amish Village. Next time we are in the area, which will be next year!

Lancaster

By Rgsell |

We really enjoyed everything about this tour. A lot of good information and a lot of fun. I would recommend doing the premium package so you can experience everything

Impressive

By Traveler42287102731 |

I am amazed how everything fits in, how the Amish live with "the English", side by side, respecting their culture and belief. It was a great experience! Help keeping it up!

Unique

By Kalkidan |

We went as a group of five people! We had an absolutely amazing time, we bought the premium package which included the village/farm tour, house tour and the bus tour! It was a great deal for the experience we got. Definitely recommend!!

A great and comfortable activity.

By Steve K |

Rosie and I enjoyed our mini bus tour with our guide Wayne. Travelling the back roads we enjoyed seeing both English and Amish farms, homes, barns, fields and actual Amish people doing what they do to earn a living.
Wayne really knows his stuff and was both informative and engaging. As we rode around for ninety minutes he did tend to repeat his comments.
We stopped at an Amish family run roadstand/store where all of our fellow riders shopped and seemed pleased with their purchases.
Well worth the money and certainly beat walking around in the heat. We had a great time and learned quite a lot about the customs, history and family lives of the Amish.

By TruthTeller_11 |

This is pretty good for a touristy spot. It's not a true operating Amish village with Amish people walking all around - definitely a tourist trap - but it's a pretty nifty tourist trap. The on-site shop has good stuff and we returned the next day to buy more. (They'll let you in without buying another ticket if you have already been there the previous day and you just want to get more stuff from the shop.) The chickens that run the grounds are very friendly. It's a cool way to get a glimpse of the simple life you wish you could live.

It was nice but ..

By Yechezkel M |

We enjoyed almost the entire stay at the grounds , the only thing that was extremely disappointing and upsetting was the map of world at the covered bridge that had pins from the countries that visited the Amish village, the flag of Israel and USA was defamed. For a place that is supposed to reflect peace and harmony and living together, It was heart breaking! please let me know when you fix it

Informative and enjoyable touring...

By Willow C |

The van tour was informative as was the house tour. We enjoyed touring the grounds. The schoolhouse was of particular interest to us.

Amish Village tour!

By Culture01159121108 |

It was an interesting and enjoyable experience visiting the Amish Village! Our tour guide Bob was very friendly and knowledgeable about the town and people.

Disappointing

By Gwladys R |

We came with friends and we were very disappointed. For us it's more of a tourist catch. The entry price is correct

Tourist trap, not authentic as advertised

By csgro |

I wouldn't mind if it was advertised honestly, but it's annoying to pay ahead of time and find out it's not actually an authentic experience. It is advertised as an actual experience on a farm but it is not - It's a fake replica/model of a "farmhouse" and "school", like going to Colonial Williamsburg or Sturbridge Village. It is also not accessible if you have mobility issues, which I asked when we checked in and I was told it was. So it was great to stand in the sun and not be able to do half the tour we paid for once inside.

The guides are not very knowledgeable about actual Amish and Mennonite culture and practices because they are not connected to the culture and are just English like the rest of us. Our guide was just a local high school age kid that did not know much. When he presented some inaccuracies that were counter to what we learned on an actual Mennonite farm, he couldn't answer anything and just said "the difference is just that Amish excommunicate"... Not at all what we asked, we were asking about the colored clothing etc. The also present you with a "traditional Amish electric refrigerator" not an approved device from solar or propane 😂

Again, it it was honestly advertised, it wouldn't be an issue, but the bait and switch was a little annoying because I would have gone to one of the real places and supported an actual family.

Awesome experience!

By Sherpa35289493853 |

Sweet people and amazing tour!!! Very thorough and left with great knowledge and got to see unique things! Only wish the bus tour was longer bc it was so good! It was long though but just really good! The people were so nice!

Pass on by...Tourist trap

By Elaine D |

It is definitely a tourist trap. The house tour was ok, the grounds that you can walk on your own was fine. We were really looking forward to the bus tour to see the countryside and hear more about the Amish. Our tour guide was horrible. Didn't talk much about anything..read street signs and didn't say anything in-between. When we did see Amish on the roadway he became speed racer so no way to get any pics. We stopped at an 'amish' market..think another tourist trap. Save your money and do something else.

Amish Village should be your first stop

By Nicholas Rosen |

It was interesting learning how the Amish live both currently and decades ago which is the same more or less. Seeing all the homemade crafts, jams, and other food was also interesting since they wanted to be completely self-sufficient. It's a great place to begin understanding the Amish way of life.

Do not miss this tour!

By k_1026 |

Loved the variety of options for the tour! Great guides on the bus and for the house tour! Fisher's yum!

Excellent choice for a family outing

By Janice L |

The small bus tour was excellent - guided by Janice.
We learned so much about the Amish way of life. We loved the stop over at one of the produce stands.
The house tour, guided by Tyler, was excellent as well.
Recommend booking months in advance in the busy summer season. (Which I did)

Worth every penny!

By Lorraine C |

Great exprience! The tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly, plus the place itself, beautiful. Going here is worth every penny spent.

Amish Experience

By corcalp |

It was a wonderful experience giving you the knowledge of Amish history and experiences. We got the premium package including the bus tour. Dave, our tour driver was so wonderful throughout our tour explaining everything as he pointed out the different places along the tour way.

Informative and educational

By Mazen N |

This was a very informative visit. My kids were impressed and thewhole family learnt a lot. The driver of the minibus was funny and well versed. The house tour was like stepping back in time. Great one day trip from NYC with elementary or middle school students.

Fantastic Immersive Experience

By GenevieveC |

We really enjoyed the bud trip and the guide Karen was awesome and really insightful. The experience was fully immersive about the way of living with the Amish

Interesting experience

By Enrique |

We enjoyed the bus tour with Gary at the wheel. He drove us through the back roads so we could get to know the Amish lifestyle.

Definitely a great tour

By GWNANA |

Great tour. Started with the farm house. Air conditioned bus welcomed as the temperature was in the 90’s. Our guide was very knowledgeable and answered all questions. Back at the farm we were able to continue the tour at our own pace. School house, carriages, animals, beautiful landscaping.

Excellent Experience - Do the Bus Tour

By Kristy A |

The Amish Village was very informative. We learned a lot about the Amish Culture. The bus tour is a must do - you get to see and hear about all the Amish Farms which are absolutely beautiful. This was a simple, more authentic place than some of the other Amish tourist places we went in Lancaster.

Excellent History Course

By Tony N |

Excellent experience for anyone wanting more about the Amish way of life. Bus guide talked all 45! minutes not missing a beet about the lifestyle to which he was familiar.

Great Place to learn about the Amish!

By Luke R |

Joe was so amazing in teaching us about the Amish! 10/10 Gift shops, the baked goods were delicious! Soaps smelt amazing

Wayne the guide was excellent.
The house tour was one of a kind.

DO IT!

By Naomi B |

We thoroughly enjoyed our guide, Paul, and our Amish Village Tour. Appreciated his knowledge and sense of humor. Thank you for giving us some insight into this simple yet lovely way of life.

Good fun

By Amanda S |

Enjoyable! Recommend the bus tour and visiting the home. Time well spent. We had a good tour guide! Enjoyed the opportunity to visit an Amish fruit stand to purchase homemade products.

Great experience even with teens!

By Devon P |

Our driver was very knowledgeable about the Amish culture in Lancaster. So much interesting information. I loved the stop at the shop, picked up some cute handmade quilted items plus whoopie pies, shoofly pie, and homemade hot sauce! It was great. Walking around the village and getting the house tour was a great addition. My two teens even enjoyed the tour!

Commercialized

By janay p |

Everyone was very friendly. I just felt that it was very commercialized. We did not take the van tour, maybe it would have been better if we had.

Still maintaining the old traditions.

By Sophyaugust |

Amish village is still maintaining the old traditions. The old house and the way they still make things are beyond imaginatons,

Terrific experience, would do it again!

By Rachel H |

I went to the Killdeer Farm guesthouse with my two young daughters. We had a wonderful experience. Sadie and Sylvan were terrific hosts and made us feel welcome. The guesthouse was impeccably clean and cozy. We plan to return for another, longer visit.

Loved it

By Stephanje W |

This place was so beautiful, your was so relaxing, and our driver was so friendly, and helpful so we could learn the Amish ways. We toured their house, barn, and bus tour of the community. All was amazing.

Great tour and guide

By Erin P |

We had the premiere package with the bus tour. It was very informative and our bus driver was great. The village was very nicely done.

Great experience

By Toke Koldborg J |

My two daughters age 12 and 15 visited the Amish village and had a great time. We learning about the Amish and experienced the huge contrast between our stay in New York and a completely different world. Especially the bus tour was great and informative.

Good for families. Spark a discussion with your kids about being different

By Jay9875 |

Very informative. Our grand kids ages 4, 8 and 10 loved it. Sparked a discussion with the 10 year old about discrimination, being different and standing up for your religious beliefs. Lots of hands-on things for the kids.

Good tour

By Hens16 |

Nice opportunity to get an insight into the life of the Amish in a short time. The guide on the bus tour provided a lot of interesting information.

Amish Bus & House Tour

By mylesn982 |

Our driver (Al) was very informative and during the driving portion of the tour we saw many properties owned and operated by the Amish people. The driving portion takes about an hour and a half.

The house tour led by Joe was equally informative and my suggestion is to take the house tour first and then go on the driving tour. The house tour gives you a lot of information up front and you won't have as many questions on the driving tour.

Together both tours give you a good insight on the Amish way of thinking and living.

We learned a lot!

By IrishFan-80 |

As locals we thought we knew all about the Amish but we sure were wrong! We enjoyed the guided house tour and history and then the walk around the farm and buildings.
Very interesting.

A great learning experience

By Mark W |

The bus tour and the house walk-through were informative and entertaining.
Gary did a wonderful job of giving us a comprehensive, but manageable, explanation of the history, beliefs and current social practices of the Amish people. Our friends from South Africa were most interested in experiencing Amish culture and understanding Amish religious beliefs and Gary ably satisfied their questions.

Tourist trap with bad food

By Anna H |

This is definitely a tourist trap. You pay money to enter a gift shop and pet a handful of animals. I did not see one Amish person on the place by the way. I broke down and bought 2 items from the "store". They were terrible, I wound up throwing away a small pie because it was inedible, it even had a store bought crust which makes me wonder where it actually came from. Never again will I go to a place like this, total disappointment.

Great family activity!

By Carmen M |

Awesome family activity. We did the premium tour and my ten-year old loved it. The staff was nice and knowledgeable.

Great experience

By Tiffany R |

Make time to do everything! You won't regret it. The village was great and spacious, but the bus tour was amazing! Karen, our guide, was very entertaining and knowledgeable. She made us feel welcome and not rushed when stopped at Amish businesses. This was the highlight of our vacation.

Take the Guided Van Tour

By Nancy C |

The guided van tour was very educational. Our guide was courteous, knowledgeable, and answered all of our questions. Well worth the time and extra charge.

Amish Village Bus Tour and House Tour

By B-C-K |

Even with rain, the bus tour and house tour was great! Our house tour guide and bus driver were very informative and we leaned a lot about the Amish and their way of life.

Excellent experience !

By Elisa T |

Excellent tour of how Amish Families live. Our tour guide Paul gave us a memorable tour of the area. We got to even buy some produce from the Amish families.

The Amish Village

By 1HappyCustomer20 |

Enjoyed the walking tour especially touring the house. It reminded me of my grandparents home and way of living. We have gone to Lancaster md drove by the Amish Village many times. So glad we finally stopped. Allow yourself time to walk around the property.

Excellent and educational

By Lynne S |

I enjoyed our tour bus. Very informative and enjoyable. The staff were extremely friendly and the village was well worth it

great costumer service

By zvi r |

this place is very interesting with very nice people and beautiful grounds its a must for everyone that likes some more knowledge

Increase your knowledge

By Lisa S |

The Amish house tour was very good. We learned things about their way of life we did not know.
Also the bus tour was very informative into the Amish schooling, farms and the stops were a great addition. Busy Bees Farm Market has the best soft pretzels!

The Amish Village tour

By rong z |

Love the bus tour with Paul, we've learned so much about the Amish. Paul was extremely funny, my daughter said he should be a comedian. It would be nice if more Amish cultures were added in the trip. The farm was cute.

The Amish Village- Then is Now

By Janice R |

The village was interesting in that it gave you a perspective of Amish living, even now. The guide of our house tour was a hoot. He told it like it is/was. I don't remember his name though. He made that part interesting, as going through an old house can be boring, otherwise. Our tour bus driver, Kristin, seemed like a lost soul. She pointed out things to us in passing such that we missed much of it. She also told about her living among the Amish for 5 years and some of her "facts" didn't coincide with those same facts we learned later in visit a couple of Amish families.

One Day at Amish Village!

By Carmella V |

It was a very good experience and I really enjoyed the back road tour with driver Fred, he told us good stories and was always good humored. The landscape was gorgeous.
Thanks to him I learned a lot of things about the Amish Culture.
However, the bathroom was DISGUSTING, dirty and blood on the door.
For $34 I expect a very clean bathroom and new. I paid $22 for Longwood Gardens and everything was very CLEAN and NEW.

Disappointingly disrespectful

By Jill Brandenbur... A |

I was disappointed with the put-down attitude/jokes from more than one staff person about the Amish. Though I did also learn a lot. Don't bother with the farm visit. House tour was ok (minus the repeated jokes mentioned above) but find yourself a good on-line video and skip it if you can. Bus tour of the area was informative.

What a surprise!

By momma225 |

From the road the Amish Village looks a bit like a small tourist trap. In fact it was one of my favorite parts of the trip. We bought the whole package where we saw and heard about the Amish home, went one a very informative bus tour and saw the little village. I would definitely recommend doing all three. It was definitely worth the price.

Great family outing for all!

By meandkisa2016 |

Our large family group visited on a Saturday with extremely hot outdoor temperatures. We toured the house and the farmland and the outdoor buildings and took the 90 minute bus tour. The house and bus tour were both air-conditioned. The staff was very accommodating, especially with my elderly mother who uses a walker. Wayne was our bus driver. He made the bus tour, very enjoyable and even stopped at a little Amish market for us to get out and enjoy. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone, no matter their abilities.

Great 90 Minute Bus Tour of the Amish Lancaster Countryside

By Rosemary S |

I would recommend this interesting and informative 90 minute bus tour of the Amish Lancaster countryside. Karen was an excellent and very friendly tour guide who did a great job making the outing fun and interesting.

Review 7/10/24

By Resort51418780077 |

Bob, our tour guide was very friendly and quiet knowledgeable about the Amish. He gave us great information and answered all of our questions. Max, our tour guide at the house was equally friendly and knowledgeable. A wonderful and interactive experience, all employees were friendly and we cannot wait to go back!

Mostly positive experience

By TravelDocta |

My husband and I participated in the Amish Village experience this past weekend and we quite enjoyed the bus portion of the tour with Kristin. She was very knowledgeable, and presented the information in a very professional manner. We also appreciated being able to stop and shop at two Amish stores so that we could contribute directly to the livelihood of the Amish community. The reason I give the experience 4 stars instead of 5 is because the tour of the house by Sam bordered on unprofessional. He was nice and had good energy; however, he was rather unprofessional, at times, and his attempts to be humorous came across as borderline-judgmental to the Amish way of life. Despite that, I would still recommend this experience to others.

Do this 1st

By 3Hound |

Our tour guide. Growed up in the area. He had tons of info. His first hand experience was awesome. He did have to be educated in the Amish. He already knew. He showed us how to identify with the Amish culture.

Amish Village Farm, house and tour

By CDinShallotte |

Wonderful tour. Beautiful scenery. Paul (our guide) was very knowledgeable and added a good bit of humor to his narrative. Really enjoyed the Amish Village and tour.

Amish Village

By Samantha P |

Definitely get the premium package so you can see everything. The bus tour was great, very informative. Paul was excellent, funny and knowledgeable.

Fun Filled Day

By Jessica R |

We did the whole tour which was amazing. Going on the bus tour was a great experience to see the Amish farms that they live on today. There is a stop at one of the local Amish stores and has many different things to buy.

Great way to spend a few hours

By Suzanne M |

Better to get the premium package which includes the bus trip . So you can see the actual Amish people and shop in their business .We chose this package for $35 a person so we could take the 90 bus ride all through Amish country and for a stop at an Amish store. I can say the store we stopped at had retail items as well as baked goods and canned goods as well. It is run by an Amish couple that are very nice. Our driver is very knowledgeable about the area and respects the Amish people that live here. As soon as we got back we only had to wait a few minutes to take the house tour for 20 minutes that was very interesting. After that we walked around to see the animals and pet the ones that like attention. The chickens are freely roaming around. They have buggies that you can climb into for pictures. The shops are enjoyable to roam around to see what you want to buy. There is an eatery that we did not go into as we had plans to eat somewhere else. It probably took about 2 1/2 hours in all but we really enjoyed our time here.

The way to view Amish Country

By Avrumi T |

This was the perfect tour of Amish Country, not too long and not too short. The views were great and the information provided by our guide was very knowledgeable. Definitely recommend it.

Interesting & fun too

By surnhc x |

Friendly staff, our tour guide was pleasant and very knowledgeable. We've driven past this place over the years, so this was our first visit. Glad we decided to visit, we a had good experience.

Fun and Informative - the bus tour was great!

By Chris S |

The tour was lovely, informative, fun and completely worthwhile. The short house tour was well done, and AJ taught us all things about the Amish that we did not know before. I think we all came in with misconceptions.
The bus tour was really the best. Our guide Paul was funny, respectful and very knowledgeable. We managed to stop at two different Amish owned businesses where we were able to purchase delicious treats - including a tasty fresh blueberry milkshake!
What I learned at the Amish Village gave me a newfound admiration for the Amish and their very intentional way of living. I hope I have the opportunity to visit the beautiful people and lands of Pennsylvania Dutch country again someday. Thanks to everyone!

Exception service

I had an incredible experience on the Amish Village Tour! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this was a unique opportunity to learn about the Amish way of life. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly, offering fascinating insights into the traditions, values, and daily routines of the Amish community. The tour was informative, well-paced, and gave a perfect balance of history and culture. The village itself was beautiful, with its charming houses, fields, and barns, all showcasing the simplicity and tranquility of Amish life. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning about Amish culture in an authentic and engaging way!

Incredible Experience and Learned so Much!

By Morgan B |

This was an amazing experience! We did the premium tour which included a 90 minute bus tour, a house tour, and a self-guided tour of the grounds. Our tour bus guide was extremely knowledgable and answered all of our questions. We learned so much about the Amish community and got to experience several Amish businesses as well both on the tour and at the farm. Highly recommend!

Knowledgeable tour guides

Tour guide for the house and the bus tour were very knowledgeable. It was relaxing, not at all rushed. Very pretty area. Enjoyed the experience very much.

Great Tour Guides!

We had an excellent time at The Amish Village! Our house tour guide, Joe, was great and our bus guide, David, had an excellent background having grown up in the area so he had wonderful "insider" anecdotes he shared throughout the tour! We enjoyed walking the farm after the bus tour and all 6 of us in my group enjoyed ourselves very much!

Great time at the Amish Village!!

By Cheryl H |

Had a great time at the Amish Village Tour!!! When we arrived, we were given a time slot for the Amish Farmhouse Tour & another time slot for the bus tour. While we waited, we did the self-guided tour of the grounds, which included the one-room schoolhouse and the candy shop. The Farmhouse Tour took us throughout the entire house & the tour guide explained what daily living was like. She was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. We then did the narrated bus tour with Mitch. We stopped by different farms & homes where he explained the characteristics of the homes, farms, and buggies. He then took us to a shop where we could buy homemade household items and baked goods. They even had an ice cream & pretzel stand! When we arrived back, we had our self-packed lunch under the pavilion and then finished the self-guided tour of the grounds, which included the petting zoo. Highly recommend the tour! One place to see & learn so much & have a relaxing day!

Great visit despite horse bite

By Kim V |

Great visit. Learned a lot. The driving tour was excellent and we highly recommend it. The small village walk through and house tour were nice. Only issue is a horse bit my arm (still healing). They sell food to feed the horses, so many children were doing so. After the bite (broke skin), I discovered a small sign below waist height that warned the horse sometimes bites. I am just glad it did not bite a child. This horse should not be present with children. Despite this, i highly recommend the visit and tours.

Wonderful Adventure

The Amish Farm Museum
Just a few miles south of US-30 on PA 896 lies an instructive museum and exhibit space committed to explain how the Amish live, and how they differ from the ”English” Included are animal pens, tour of the family house, several gift shops with remarkable food and nick knacks to remember your visit. Plan on 2 hours to see the entire exhibit and wear sunscreen when going outside. It is bright and warm outside.
We also took a 90 minute bus tour of the Amish farm country. Wayne was our driver and tour guide. He was a wealth of knowledge and very personable. We had a great time.

Wonderful Experience

Family did the premium package. The tour guide on the 75 trolly tour was extremely knowledgeable. She was a conservative Mennonite and she also had lived with an Amish family for 5 years. She was from Lancaster. The lady who did the house tour, also was a native of Lancaster. I would rate the guides as A+. You go on vacation and walk away with knowledge of Amish history and a deeper understanding of a different culture. This is a wonderful educational family activity.

Beatiful experience

My family and I had a great time during this tour. For me, this was the second time around at the Amish Village. We got to the village earlier than expected and they graciously accomodated us in an earlier bus tour. The driver was knowledgable and took the time to describe every possible scene characteristic of the Amish tradition to our group. After the bus tour we enjoy the house tour and our guide in the traditional home was excellent as well. The village has animals and my nieces were able to fed them. This is a beautiful family activity!

Museum great, bus eh.

Great museum, bus tour is a miss.
We loved our house guide, who knew and shared so much about the Amish and their lives.
Our bus guide pretty much didn’t answer willingly and confirmed his comments to pointing out amish farms with no descriptors.

My favorite part was the bus ride with an amazing driver/guide who was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly lived withing the Amish community their whole life.
We will definitely be coming back to learn more about Amish/Mennonite way of life as it is rather fascinating.

The tour was well explained and guide very efficient and answer all our question.
Only negative point, the tour is not available in a different language which would be worth, like french and spanish.

Our 90 min trip 9/17/22

Wonderful experience with our Amish Village 90min tour on 09/17/2022. Karen, our tour guide, was excellent and knowledgeable. She explained well about Amish community and their lifestyles.
I also wanted to comment about the administration about the follow up with our booking. I called many times and left messages to call us back, but unfortunately none of them contacted back. It will be nice to check the messages once a day to give a better customer service.

We are a family of 2 adults and a 7 year old and we all loved visiting the Amish village. It was an education experience that even our 7 year old could relate to. Our favorite part was learning about how the Amish live: gender roles, childbearing and rearing, transportation, education, religious beliefs and modes of worship. We all want to learn more. Our guide was also fun and funny!

Visited the Amish village when in the area. Decided to take the bus excursion tour which lasted a little over 90 minutes. Was really good and the tour guide was really informative. Stopped off at the Amish market for a fresh pretzel. Unfortunately we didn't stop at the ice cream dairy farm. It was really worth while and would recommend.

Great for kids and families of all ages!

Super interesting on-site tour even if you don’t have time for the bus. Kids loved the animals. The treats and crafts are great and surprisingly affordable.

Informative tour

By Kailoni V |

Don’t let the small property fool you. This is a small area with a lot of information and what I considered a good time. We did the full package which included the house tour (about 35 min), the farm, little village (schoolhouse, playground, petting zoo, markets and blacksmith house), and also included a 90 min bus ride through Lancaster country to see Amish residences and farms up close. We went with a group ranging from 4 yo to 65 (including a few teens) and even though there was some resistance in the beginning everyone enjoyed it, Especially the teens. Our bus driver, Fred, was amazing!! Super informative and answered any and all questions we had. He really explained the culture and customs of the Amish in a humorous and entertaining way. We then stopped at another Amish house location where they sold Amish goodies and even have mini horse Back rides. Unfortunately, that location closed at 5p so we were unable to enjoy but it was still a nice spot to stop and stretch. I recommend if your in the Lancaster area looking to learn some information about the culture of the Amish.

Excellent
