Very peaceful & Beautiful garden atmosphere.A gift shop & snacks available for purchase.Places to sit throughout, read a book or just meditate.Employees friendly & helpful.

Truly enjoyed the Scared Gardens. This is my first time visiting and I will definitely be back. Felt serene and fulfilled when I left. Loved walking both labyrinths (one inside and one outside) and enjoyed the rock garden in back. Bought a few souvenirs so I can remind myself of the wonderful feeling I had when I was there.
Wish cashier could have warned us about being eaten by mosquitoes and to put bug repellent on. They offered some complimentary water and tea. Not much parking so we had to park on the side of the road near the sign.

For the rating in my guide book, this was a little disappointing. When they said there were maizes, I pictured hedges of them. It was a circle in the sand with rocks as borders. I saw a few people walk in this circle and thought, maybe I just don't get it. Incense and some may come to meditate.

We had our vow renewal here on the labyrinth with Eve, It was a magical, sacred experience. The garden is so beautiful and peaceful. There are many water features and places to sit and enjoy nature. The outdoor labyrinth is lovingly maintained and situated in a gorgeous wooded area with torches and flowers. There is a smaller, indoor labyrinth as well.
We had a wonderful time here and hope to return someday,

Beautiful garden that is truly an escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Recommend spending time here to just rest and read a book. Very beautiful flowers, labyrinth walks, and places to sit and pray. Worth the drive, as it is off the beaten path. Great place to visit in Maui.

I never miss an opportunity to visit this lovely place when I'm on Maui. I love the quiet beauty, and walking the labyrinth there always leaves me feeling more focused, relaxed, and centered. Eve is exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful, and worth the visit just to meet. Even if I don't have a lot of time, the time I spend there is always a worthwhile investment in my mental and spiritual well-being.

Although the gardens are off the "path", I find every visit peaceful and rewarding. The gardens are perfect and the mediation areas peaceful. My only wish is that I could purchase a plant to take home! Rain or shine, don't miss a stop for a few hours of peace at the sacred place.

We have been to Maui many times but this was our first visit the these incredible gardens. We went back 2 more times during our stay. The gardens would be a draw in themselves but combined with all the nature surrounding them, the motivational signs and bookstore and gift shop make this a not to be missed part of any trip to Maui. The energy was so wonderful that we can't wait to go back!

This is a magical place to get away and just bring peace to your mind, body and spirit. This sacred garden really holds a special place in my heart and it will in yours too. If you are under lots of stress go there and just meditate for few moments. Chat with one of the two beautiful parrots, meet the friendly staff or just hide away and read a book. This is a healing place that will surely leave you feeling better than when you walked. Just ask the staff for mosquito spray.

This appears to be a nursery, but it's much more. Stautes and furniture throughout provide places for contemplation or simply rest. There are 2 labyrinths and they offer classes as well.

Really enjoyed the plantings and the labyrinths at this special place. Nice shop with lots of spiritual goodies. Easy to find.

There is a gift shop in the front with an area next to it with several plants for sale. Outside there are rocks positioned to make a small labyrinth to practice your zen.

We've been here twice now. It's not easy to find - no signs until you are right there so use your GPS. Good place to reflect; walk the mazes; shop for plants and generally chill.

Up in the mountains on a bend in the road off Baldwin lies a special place of calmness. Walk in through the shop of stones carved with sayings to the garden plants behind nicely decorated. Follow around to the large Buddha. Take your time chill relax. Try out the labyrinth along side the creek to quite your thoughts. Love Maui Aloha!

Drive mauka (up-country) from your home or hotel and spend a spiritual time in a special garden near Makawao. Eve, Kathy, Nancy, and Bodhi are the hosts of a magical pocket garden -- like a pocket beach but with plants and spiritual reminders of who you really are in this life.
If you are a visitor from another island or continent, this is a place to sit for a time and meditate on the power of being on Maui. Perhaps a stone, carving, sculpture, or small bit of pottery from a local kiln will find its way into your checked baggage on your return home, It did fir me.
If you are a Maui resident, this is a place where you can connect with plants and spiritual symbols that can make your backyard a place of peace, growth, and joy. Seriously.
If your are a dog, you'll like Bodhi. But he's neutered, so you won't really LOVE him.
I got hugs at the Sacred Gardens, and I'm holding them in my long-term memory.

Wonderful array of tropical plants in very eclectic pots, tea cups, musical instruments. The maze was smaller than expected but you can still get your zen on with it.

Because we stayed at the log cabin retreat next door, we visited the Sacred Garden several times with different combinations of family members. Everyone loved it! Beautiful, serene, peaceful, and free.

We first visited the sacred garden in 2013. We were driving around the area on Friday and remembered that we had been to this tranquil garden but could not remember the name. Luckily we remembered where to turn. Then we saw the sign for The sacred garden. Since our 2013 visit it seems to be more tranquil and possibly a bit more organized. Nice place to visit and relax away from the usual "tourist" venues.
Purchased an interesting small vase. T

I came to the Sacred Gardens first in 2011 because I read the book by the owner - Eve Eschner Hogan. The book - Intellectual Foreplay is still one of my favorite reads and definitely leads to love on an eye-opening scale. Since my visit, I've since married a lovely woman who is my soul partner in this Love adventure. The sacred gardens is a part of the puzzle that needs to be explored. Why don't you give it a visit and enjoy

I had read about the the garden and had added to my "to do" list this visit to the Island. It was a little tricky to find, it is right on a bend and if you blink you have missed the entrance. We did go earlier in the day to avoid crowds and were surprised at how few people were actually in the same space at the same time. The gift shop had some neat trinkets for sale.
My daughter and I walked both labyrinths reflecting on what came to mind, meandered through the plants and religious statues set up throughout the plant area . We sat briefly by the stream that ran through the garden, and had planned to come back just to sit by the water as it was relaxing and a great place to contemplate life. Free activity, but so worth our time that we left a small donation.

I love walking labryinth in this cool upcountry Garden! Close to the Hui museum and on the way to Makawao, this garden is very quiet and serene.

Visited twice while on Maui, such a special place. I gained insight walking the labyrinths, and have a picture of the outdoor labyrinth right beside my computer at work as reminder of my experience there. The meditation class was also worth the visit!

This is such a lovely haven of peace and relaxation. The plant life was lovely. I wish we were local becasue there are wonderful plants to purchase, classes to take, and lovely gardens to meditate in. The Budda staute is sublime in it's peace and beauty. We walked the labyrinth by the stream and it was so relaxing and grounding. If you seek peace, relaxation and connection with self, nature and the universe please visit this lovely place.

We stopped in simply to check it out. We had not expectations and were pleased with the setting and all the beautiful plants. Good Vibes here.... stop in and check it out!!!

As with any vacation, there is the occasional difficult situation (e.g. mad people, traffic, etc.). With this vacation, all I needed to do is feel the vision of the Sacred Garden (and labernyth), and I felt at peace.
The visit was great, and the after-effects were marvelous.

I had found that this place does wedding ceremonies on a donation basis and it would've been a perfect fit as myself and my fiance are eloping with only twenty of our close friends and family members on October 13th 2021. I am a social worker, my fiance lost his business due to Covid, and we are currently still home schooling our ASD son so a big wedding budget has never been in the cards for us, donation was the perfect route and we would have donated quite a bit since we would be saving a lot not booking an official venue. Due to Covid I made sure to get in contact with the venue early on and they directed me to talk with Eve. Eve and I spoke back in January about having roughly 18 people at the ceremony, my aunt would be officiating, and that we would carpool as to not take up a bunch of space in the parking lot. Eve agreed to all of this (my aunt, the number of cars, the date, even talked about donation amount) and the only thing she asked was for me to contact her once I got an official number of guests.
A few months go by and I was finally able to get an official number of guests. I email the number (20) to Eve on 5/4, heard nothing. Emailed again 5/11, heard nothing. Called and left a message for someone asking for Eve to get back to me on 5/14, and again nothing. Finally today (5/20) I called again and was able to speak with Eve. She now says this won't work as there would be too many guests, she doesn't allow anyone but herself to officiate, she wouldn't trust my family to make the donation, and there would not be enough room in the parking lot for "all those cars" (I hadn't even told her how many cars). Eve said because of all these factors she has been hesitant to get back to me, so she essentially just ghosted me because she didn't want to tell me she had changed her mind since we last spoke (very unprofessional and stressful for someone trying to plan a wedding). I said it would have been nice to have heard back when I emailed her almost a month ago and even nicer if she was honest from the beginning instead of saying this would be fine back in January. I expressed this puts stress on having to find a new place in such short notice. She gave me attitude and said "you still have five months, it's not that last minute", but who knows if she actually would have ever gotten back to me had I not continued to call and email. Not to mention, I already sent out my save the dates with the location on them and have booked lodging accommodations based on the location of the gardens. So now I have four months to find a new venue and figure out lodging changes. This might be a nice place to visit briefly but I DO NOT recommend booking any event here

On a windy road you will find this hidden, very peaceful, big greenhouse with labyrinth. Only a few stalls for parking.

We had stumbled here after missing a turn and I'm so glad we did. If I lived here I would be here often. The flowers are pretty and there's an eclectic feel. I really enjoyed seeing the labyrinths and learning a little about them.

There were three of us traveling and staying in the larger cottage at Sacred Garden. Eve was so welcoming and friendly, and gave us great information about the surrounding areas. Her gardens are also incredible! The house we were in was incredibly clean and well stocked with linens and cookware. There were decent restaurants close by, and a really good natural food grocery store in Paia (Mana Foods) where you can buy groceries and then cook at the house. The location was nice because it is gated (car break ins are not out of the norm in a lot of Hawaii) and extremely quiet. Even with its more remote location, it is only a couple miles outside of some prime shopping areas and beaches. If we go back to Maui, we will definitely stay here again! Only down side, cell service is very sparse but they do have good WiFi so you can use skype to make calls.

This is a beautiful space filled with a huge array of different plants and statues etc placed throughout the entire gardens. This is visually beautiful and thete is so much to look at everywhere you turn. Thete are great siuvenirs here to ourchase from local artists that are mot over priced. The best part of the gardens is Joey who works here. He is an implant from the mainland but his home has been Maui for several years. He is warm and enthusiastic and projects incredible positive and loving energy. He made my visit to this place really outstanding. So worth a visit if your on Maui.

All faiths should like this cute tucked away garden in the gulch on Kaluanui Road between Baldwin Ave and Kokomo Road. It started as a garden/nursery which it still is, but it now has two labyrinth walking areas (one under cover and one outside) as well as a meditation sitting area. It is a true sanctuary surrounded by plants, gentle chimes, trickling water features, and quietly wandering guests. Its easy to just hide-out here and enjoy the peace away from your hectic vacation. You might find some earrings, a statue, a sign, one of the owner/author's books (Eve Hogan), or even consider signing up ahead of time for a relationship tune-up/communication session.

This place is free to visit. It has wonderful surroundings including a stream running through. Two labyrinths, Buddas plants and several seating areas both under cover and not. feels like you could spend quite a bit of time here with no one bothering you. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely visit and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere.
There’s a nice little gift shop and plants for purchase.
Not a lot of parking, and a bit tricky to navigate, but a nice alternative to the cash grabs you encounter on Maui.

We loved walking the labyrinth, sitting quietly in front of the Buddha statue, looking at all the different plants and browsing through the little gift shop. There are many hidden treasures.

I stopped here with not much idea of what to expect, but I am SO happy that our group made time to visit. There's pretty limited parking available, but that's ok because it wasn't very busy when we went mid-afternoon. When you first walk into the small building on the property it's hard to tell how big it really is. The 2 women working in the front gift shop area were incredibly warm and welcoming. The gift shop contained quite a few nice items, some items were local, and some weren't (but were still chosen because they related to the theme of the gardens in some way - like labyrinths, meditation, affirmations, etc.). I started by exploring the greenhouse area - making my way through the rows of plants and admiring the artful displays and statues. Toward the last aisle, there was a bird in a cage (maybe a Gray Macaw?). There were also several small fountains throughout which made a nice atmosphere. Then I saw the indoor labyrinth. It was small but still took a little while to walk the whole thing (but it was WELL WORTH the time for the message in the middle - no spoilers!). I made my way to the large Buddha garden and played the singing bowl and gongs that were there - it was super peaceful. Then I headed outside to walk the big labyrinth outdoors. This one took quite some time, but it was so peaceful and the plants surrounding the labyrinth were super lush and pretty. It was nice and relaxing. I came back inside and made my way upstairs to find some comfy seating and games (which a few kids seemed to be having fun playing with parents and grandparents). This was the perfect little stop to recharge and just take some time to poke around. If you don't like to just aimlessly meander, this may not be the right place for you, but I found it super charming and peaceful. I would definitely make it a point to go back if I'm ever in the area again. :)

The Sacred Garden is an oasis of peacefulness and an opportunity for reflection and meditation. The labyrinth and Buddha are highlights. I love visiting this spot whenever I am on Maui. Not a commercial place, but a lovely one. Eve is amazing!

We were rescued by Eve when we needed an overnight place to stay...and, fortunately for us, her studio apartment was available for the night...we loved walking the grounds of this beautiful retreat....no sounds of busy traffic noise...there are seven acres, so we did not get to see all of it in our short stay. Eve and her husband are warm and welcoming.....when we return to Maui we plan to come back to this special place....thank you Eve...!!

A local recommended the sacred garden to me, and I'm so happy that he did. It was an amazing place. A cool greenhouse with a lot of different plants, two labyrinths, a meditation room, and some chickens wandering the premise. I really liked the things in the shop and they offer free coffee/hot chocolate. Staff was very friendly. A very peaceful place that allows for some self reflection.

The attraction of The Sacred Gardens is the ability to walk two labyrinths. You enter the gardens through the gift store. There is no admission fee, though donations are welcome.
You start in a greenhouse-like area. There are many different plants in some very interesting pots. There are water features towards the back of the area and a second level with seating areas where you can sit and enjoy the sights and sounds. The greenhouse-like area has the first labyrinth. The second is outside of this area in a kukui tree forest.
You are encouraged to spend as much time there as you like. You can get a guided tour if you wish. There is an area to draw or write. Coffee, hot chocolate and water is available to visitors for free.
We are staying in Kihei so it was a bit of a drive to get to the gardens. I'm not sure I'd make the trip just to visit the gardens, but we made it part of a day when we also visited in the Kula Botanical Garden.

What a relaxing getaway place for an afternoon of meditation and contemplation. Mahalo! Oh... well-maintained maze.

So here I am in vacation on Maui and my wife finds this garden that gets high ratings on Trip Advisor. Being explorers I go along with the plan thinking this will be a short visit then back to sitting on the beach with Mai Tai in hand. First off the drive to get there from Ka'anapalli starts off through the city and then up country to lush and beautiful scenery. The Garden is right at a hairpin turn in the road so please use caution when parking and departing.
Enter the unassuming barn and instantly you are put at ease. The staff are friendly, warm and welcoming. Take a walk through the gardens that is a nursery too and sense the tranquility of your surroundings. Take he time to journey through both the smaller and the larger labyrinths. Nature decided to wipe out the larger labyrinth via flood. At the time of our visit the local community came together to clean out the debris and rebuild the labyrinth. It was an awesome feeling to be there in the presence of such awesome people donating their time for this gem of tranquility.
If you want to just get away and unwind, seek out The Sacred Garden. There is no cost just what you feel you should place in the donation box.

Really cool little place. Come to relax and see some clever arrangements of unique plants. Glad we stopped by!

A fun stop. Quiet and a lovely a great place to sit and read or just enjoy the grounds. Good for all ages.

Found this place on Jon's Maui list of off the beaten track places to go. Short detour on way up and worth a stop. Beautiful gardens and cute little shop. Nice meditation area. Staff lets you know pretty much everything is for sale but they are not pushy about it. Glad we stopped!

It's a refreshing, peaceful spot with pretty flowers and interesting art. It's a nice place to stop for a quick visit.

Went there one afternoon and were the only ones visiting. Greeted by a very friendly staff member whom offered us tea. Very quiet and peaceful place.

run down garden nursery with lots of kitchy displays. I was expecting a bit more out of this place. Worth a stop if you are passing by but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit it.

Tucked away in Maliko, this gem is like a breath of fresh air. A sanctuary that you can walk through and admire or spend some time there in meditation. They have two labyrinths, one inside and one outside. My favorite part was the "Mother" room. A quiet comptemplative room dedicated to the goddess in everyone.
Beautiful plants and flowers to entrance you. An awesome teak wood Buddha that just begs you to sit next to and zen out.
Bathroom on site. Wonderful gift shop. Be prepared to spend awhile here in this little piece of paradise in paradise. Do yourself a favor, if the friendly hostess offers you some mosquito repellent, take it. ;)

While most of Maui is a great place to slow down, this lovely little place is a great place to just sit. Don't expect a large garden, it is small and serene. Mew enjoyed stopping on the way between destinations. It is calm, and quiet.
The perfect place to stop and catch your breath.

Beautiful, quiet sanctuary hidden deep in a tropical setting. Ona, was a knowledgeble, friendly, engaging resource during our visit. Peaceful and multiple places to sit and meditate, read, or just reflect. The indoor labrynth was very, very nice and the outside labrynth was amazing. Lovely gifts, complimentary drinks available, books for perusing while visiting, an amazing "mother/female energy" sitting/meditating room . . . their website laid it all out very well. Truly an important stop for finding your inner peace. There is no fee for this lovely experience, however, as a 501(C)(3), non-profit they welcome a donation.

Not good. Was followed around and harassed by the workers there. So sad to see such a magic place get ruined. Please do not help this place ruin anymore positivity left in this world.

What a glorious place to visit - just a few miles north of Pa'ia in the Upcountry, this is a super diversion away from constant beach and resort culture. Such creativity and care has gone into this meditative sanctuary -- I found myself WISHING I had brought a book and journal, for they'd welcome it, for you to sit there in one of the little nooks they've created for your pleasure. I couldn't stop breathing in the air, lightly touching every wind chime and gong, and yes, we did the peace labyrinths too.
I'm not sure if I'd have the same reaction if visiting on a crowded day though - there were only 3 of us wandering the grounds. No kids were visiting at the time, but there is an entire area devoted to young people. I couldn't get over the care that went into creating this space. I look forward to coming back next time on Maui, this time with a good book, to sit in peaceful beauty, among the plants and trees.

On my last visit to Maui this past April, I wandered into the Sacred Garden, a little oasis tucked away in a lush tropical part of the island. From the moment I stepped into this sanctuary, I felt light and at peace. For those who haven't been here before, please take some time from your holiday to enjoy this slice of paradise.
It's a covered space and an open type area, partitioned off into different spaces, each space adorned with plants of all varieties, brimming and exploding with love and splendour, and special seating arranged throughout where you can just sit back and inhale the splendour of it all. It's difficult to put to words, but I could feel the energy and love of nature wrapped around me. What a delectable way to appreciate the glory of mother earth.
It was also random but perfectly synchronized. Roosters wandered about. A parrot in its cage would occasionally give me a cat call and say hello. There were also two labyrinths, one indoor and one outdoor. I explored both. I was fortunate to have the place to myself (was there on a Sunday at around 1 p.m.) so I took my time and felt so connected.
My energy and my senses were on overload but in a pure and magical way. I will definitely be returning when I'm back in Maui next year.

I stumbled on this garden and have been back twice. Mostly it's a big greenhouse with a variety of plants, many niches to sit in, and hidden sculptures beside the potted plants. Outside there's a small maze or meditation path. It's Buddhist,or perhaps more New Age, but don't hesitate if that's not your thing. It's beautiful. And peaceful. And welcoming.

After reading a number of reviews, I decided to make the effort to find this place after visiting the nearby historic town of makawao. Getting to this garden isn't too hard, except that you're driving up a 2 Lane Rd. that narrows to one lane and at least one part. That means that if there are aggressive drivers behind you, you may feel a little stressed, as there is really no place to pull off on the side of the road to let someone pass.
There is a small parking lot right next to the garden and gift shop. The nursery is quite large and spans two levels. It makes for a pretty pleasant stroll, and there are two labyrinths on the property -- 1 indoors and 1 outdoors.
I spent about 15 minutes here. I can't imagine hanging out for longer, although there is a tea room set up or you could just kick back, have a cup of tea, and perhaps browse through a book if you want. It's a nice enough place, but I wouldn't make a special trip here. Unfortunately, a lot of the items that they have for sale maybe difficult to pack up for home unless you live on the island.
If you decide to go, consider leaving a small donation or making some sort of purchase, as that is the only way that the garden can remain open to the public. The staff will let you know this (politely).

one of a kind place, a must see - Eve is such a great host !
A beautiful garden and lots of trees, nursery, labyrinth, highly recommended

It was fantastic here, I really would to have loved to go on the moonlight labyrinth walk, sadly time didn't allow. I read Eve's book The Way of the Labyrinth which even though it looks small is packed with good stuff. Excellent read.
The garden is peaceful & welcoming and a cute little shop which my eyes bought loads and my purse was a little more restrained.

The Sacred Garden is one of Maui's most special treasures I am grateful for every moment I spend there. Its peaceful and sweet, and has the most beautiful Buddha I have ever seen. The plants and crafts are great gifts. SO MANY residents (I have lived here 30 years) and tourists spend time here and love it! I have attended classes and events that changed my life. Eve Hogan's full moon labyrinth walks are so inspiring, she is a wonderful teacher, writer, angel. I have watched the garden grow through the years, nourished by the community and appreciated by all. When the river destroyed the original labyrinth, so many friends came together to help rebuild it. Everyone who works in the greenhouse and on the property is down to earth, and very nice and genuine. Its a welcoming spot for anyone who drops by at any time. It is such a unique spot, I hope people will read my review and make a point of visiting Eve and her Ohana there soon.

I stayed in Haiku during my last trip to Maui and I drove past The Sacred Garden many times. I only wish that I had visited sooner. I arrived first thing in the morning and walked the labyrinth. One of the ladies that works there told me that an open meditation session was starting at the Buddha statue in a bit and that I was welcome to join in. I didn't participate, but I felt an inner peace seeing a few people sitting quietly in a circle in silent meditation. If you're looking for a peaceful island experience and a taste of true island spirit, this is the place to visit. It will change you.

The location is pretty in the hills above Paia. There are two labyrinths surrounded by thick jungle & a murky stream. I walked both but beware : I got eaten up by mosquitos or some other biting insect. I'm talking huge bites! The garden area is strange: random things set on rows of tables- not sure what that's about. The gift shop is fairly good. I was visiting on a Friday and they were out of Malas- The man working there promised to make me a special lotus seed wrist mala and have it Sunday. I made the trek back on Sunday only to find he did not make it. If you can't trust the people of the sacred garden, who you gonna turn to?? I was saddened to the core. Another false human. I wanted to return the few things I purchased because they now had negative energy for me. This same man told me no returns. Seriously. I ended up finding a person in the parking lot and gave him my non-returnable purchase in hopes of a energy shift. I'm still in search of real souls, kindness & honesty. The sacred garden did not provide that, thus I cannot recommend it.

This place is what is meant by Aloha, it is the spirit and heart of Hawaii! I loved the big labyrinth, and the beautiful items for sale. I will treasure my time there, the staff was so kind. I took the peace home, and remember it fondly!

If you love plants, nature and peace, this is it. There is no charge to get in and there is even tea if you like. The people there are very calm and nice. The nursery is spotless and you can feel the love.

Found this place very interesting. The labyrinths were quite cool. Items in the shop were mostly well-priced - more like mainland prices!
I was the only visitor, which leant to quite the introspective feel. Thinking of going back in a couple weeks for the full moon event.
Will definitely visit again!

There was a painter who interpreted her dreams, along with lots of sincere young women and beautiful plants, an eclectic nursery, lots of Buddha statues and interesting art.

This was one of the highlights of our visit. PLEASE stop in to the Sacred Garden if your in the Makawao area. If you have the opportunity to meet with owner Eve, you will be blown away by her presents. This gal is truly connected with spirt and soul. Eve did a presentation for our group on the labyrinth meaning and significants. Then we each walked the labyrinth, you will be surprised at what shows up in your consciousness as you walk it. Thank you to Eve for making our trip a memorable one and one that will be with us forever. We will be back for sure each time we come to Maui. Thank also for creating a spiritual place that helps people heal and grow. You are a gift in it;s self and a blessing to many. Much love and light to you Eve. Thank you again from the whole group from Australia and myself.

We stayed there wandering through the garden, talking to Eve, and meeting (the now sadly departed) Anthony. Eve is perhaps the nicest, most open person we met on Maui, and the fact that she makes this place, that she built from nothing, open to the public is amazing. It's close to our favourite town on Maui, Makawao, and the rest of Up Country.

This is our 4th visit, haven't been since 2015 however, some nice changes. This is relaxing place to visit if you want a change from the tourist traps in Maui.

A place to meditate and relax in a natural surrounding. Enjoy the beautiful flowers, buddhas and experience the labyrinths. The owner is a spiritual guru and has developed this place into a little bit of heaven on earth.

We were looking for alt things to do on our last day and this was something the looked interesting. Upon arriving you walk in and they have the most beautiful and peaceful nursery/garden with these lovely labyrinths that you can walk. It is hard to describe why it felt to tranquil but the energy was just tremendously thought provoking. They have a lovely gift shop with some nontraditional souvenirs and will happily provide with hot tea or beverage as you walk the grounds. Don't be surprised if you're visited by Bohdi who is one of the friendliest largest St.Bernard mixes I have ever seen anywhere. This place is a great place to visit if you want to stop in Makawao and Pa'ai

Saw this place listed among the things to do up in Makawao so stopped in. I had brought my lunch with me and after walking through the gift shop and greenhouse found a very peaceful spot outside to sit, relax and have my lunch, After lunch made my way to the big outdoor labyrinth and took a stroll. I was not really expecting anything as I entered but soon as you make your way along the path to the center your mind clears and it is a very relaxing time. I was lucky nobody else was there so you can simply relax in your thoughts.
I would defiantly go back next time I am on Maui.
They ask for a $10 donation but nobody will really ask you there is a small chest for you to drop it in - please do
Don't be surprised if you drive right past it the 1st time - I did - there is no big sign letting you know you have arrived

The advertisements for the garden look and sound nice but the proprietor is very unfriendly and will take advantage of you. That was my experience. I won’t be returning.

I could go here every day. It's so peaceful and tranquil. You can also be enlightened in the gift shop with the many many beautiful trinkets, stones, jewelry, and books. Walk the labyrinth and have a spiritual awakening. Walk among the garden and ponder, read or just space out (meditate)... you'll love being here, I guarantee it. : >

We stumbled on the Sacred Gardens and enjoyed their lovely selection of plants and flowers. There were numerous areas to sit, relax, and enjoy the wind chimes and water gardens. I only wish we could have purchased some of the plants to bring home with us to the mainland.

Our car delivered us to the Sacred Garden without our knowledge. We were drawn to the gardens and welcomed like old friends. We wandered the grounds with spiritual energy we did not expect. It was both beautiful and uplifting. We then found love and true inspiration from Eve and her staff that stayed with us through out the rest of the day and vacation.

This is not a real garden, but more like a peaceful greenhouse. A really nice idea that just does not go far enough. There are two labyrinths, one outdoors, but if you are hoping for a deep meditation, you may be disappointed and distracted by the constant car noise.

The moment I got out of the car, I knew I was in a special place. We walked through the gift shop and talked with the cashier. We went for the Sunday morning open meditation. Before that started we sat in a small room and prayed. Then went out to the beautiful Buddah where 4 of us sat in meditation for about an hour. Afterwards, we shared a little bit about ourselves and then proceeded to wonder around and talk more with the cashier (while I was making purchases!) It is such a peaceful place to go to get away from the hustle of some of the big resorts and was my favorite part of my trip.

Maui resident, since 11.11.2005: If you love Nature, and the stillness, beauty and process of living in peace inside as well as out, then come visit my favorite place. I come here to walk the labyrinth, which is so helpful. The walk in gives me a chance to feel into what is here, filling my mind, wobbling my walk, bothering my focus, and I stay in the center, finding my own, tuning into my heart, and my walk out is lit up with insights, ease, Grace and clarity. The shop and greenhouse full of gifts are the best, at once charming, then so creative, totally enchanting, and nice things you can treat yourself to. There are birds to connect with in big cages, and a warm staff and ...amazing Eve Hogan. It is so very important to steep in this Sacred Garden and all it offers, lasting gifts, in every magic moment.

Staff was very warm & welcoming upon arrival. We were offered tea or water.
We got a quick overview and wandered around the garden. They have some stuff for sale (plants, planters, knick knacks, etc.). More than anything the place has a sit and stay awhile feel. There are two different types of labyrinths you can walk or view.
Staff did warn us about mosquitos and offered complimentary deet free mosquito repellent. The mosquitos were not that bad, but I did get a couple bites.

These gardens are very special and I seldom see it advertised on island. This would be a good stop if you do Hallimaile for lunch or Makawao town it is close to both.

This peaceful garden in a rainforest setting near Makawao was an unexpected find on our drive up Baldwin Ave. from nearby Paia. The drive itself is worth doing as the landscape near Makawao is rolling and green and usually full of rainbows! Its worth seeing the less sandy and sunny side of Maui for sure.
Once you arrive at the garden, the peaceful vibe will envelope you and you are welcome to begin walking the labyrinths which is the ultimate go-within, spiritual experience! The folks here are very low key and helpful in a laid back manner. We explored the entire green house -- filled with tropicals and succulents which are potted up in unique ways. Along the way you'll see ceramic masks, prayer flags, beautiful sounding wind chimes and lots of interesting garden art.
The gift shop offers all manner of mementos to remind you of time spent in this peaceful place -- many things that are small and will travel easily (talismans like stones with engraved words, lovely lotus-like candle holders, rainbow colored wind "wings", etc).
The 2 dogs we saw were large, but very peaceful and one named Poe watched over the larger labyrinth and seems to enjoy the good energy emanating from there!
It was our first time at this garden and I was so happy we saw the sign out at Baldwin Ave. directing us to turn left down the road to the garden. It was the perfect ending to a beautiful Sunday afternoon -- we'd already heard whales singing while snorkeling on the south shore, so what better way to end that experience than with a walk through a peaceful labyrinth?

This is a lovely, laid back ,peaceful place with a small retail shop 2 labarinyths and a ton of plants. a nice calming visit and a place to get some neat gifts as well.

The minute you step into the gardens, you feel serenity. This lovely property is filled with beautiful plants and gardenscapes that inspire. The sounds of trickling water from the fountains and the gentle notes from the windchimes are soothing. Bunnies, chickens, and koi ponds bring smiles. Tables and chairs invite you sit and listen to the soothing sounds, lose yourself in a book, or quietly chat with your companions. Visit, meander, and sit. Enjoy. I did not want to leave.

I feel very nice here! The sacred garden of Maliko 🌴🌺 affords you with many options to go within, meditate or simply have quiet time within a beautiful surrounding in Maui. The unguided journey includes a labyrinth, quiet spaces for healing, a place for balance and many interesting areas to discover. Worth it.

book a session with Eve and experience a powerful labyrinth walk and savour the myriad of plants and ambience of the beautiful and rustic sacred garden

While staying in the log cabin on the property we made regular visits the Sacred Garden. We were fortunate to arrive on the day of a Full Moon Labyrinth Walk and found it to be a very unexpectedly moving experience. I was inspired by Eve’s sharing and learning about the journey through the labyrinth. The greenhouse has many beautiful plants with surprises in every aisle. The moment I shared with my daughters in the centre of the labyrinth is something I will cherish forever.

This space was designed that to be open and inviting to people of many spiritual traditions to come and practice. We walked the outdoor labyrinth, spent some time in the garden where a gray parrot holds court amid an incredible collection of plants, sacred and collectible items. You will find something for everyone along with a gracious and thoughtful staff. it's worth the trip to upcountry!

We were so delighted that we stopped here..after losing a special relative just a few days ago, this was so welcoming and peaceful and stopping for just 30 minutes brought about a much needed respite and a wonderful time for reflection. The "attendee' was kind and made us feel so at home. There are several different ways to "honor" a loved one or to leave a memory. This is a non profit and needs your support.

Quiet and lovely, away from the hustle of life, this is a beautiful place to find peace and quiet. The Labyrinth is wonderful to experience and if you get a chance to meet Eve, you'll understand why it feels so good there! Take the time, it's even free!!

Of course, seeing this place on tripadvisor made us want to go there. However, we went in, saw a little shop with a few things here and there, going out to the garden we saw the labyrinth which we didn't get the point of and then we left. There are so many nicer places in Maui, don't waste it here.

Great spot for a break from the beach, the buying and the binge drinking. A beautiful garden center with contemplative mantras, statues and a well maintained labyrinth in a gorgeous clearing in the woods. Even some organic tea for donations.

It's virtually impossible to feel stressed on Maui, but if you are, find your inner peace in the Sacred Garden. A wonderful place to spend a couple of hours - it's a nursery/spiritual centre and totally enchanting.

The best nursery on Maui. Walk around the gardens, sit, stroll amongst the labrynth, lush nursery, feel the love.

My mother passed away several years ago. Our family has been going to a small place where we go to on Maui to vacation and pray. It brings us comfort and happiness for all the family to love. It’s a joy of course! Just a few minutes takes our aches and pains away. Come for your time, as much as you need. Joy to all. Peace to you, friend.

I stayed here for 4 nights. It was lovely. Upcountry is so peaceful. Wrth getting away from tthe hustle and bustle of town.

The Sacred Garden affords you with many options to go within, meditate or simply have quiet time within a beautiful surrounding in Maui. The unguided journey includes a labyrinth, quiet spaces for healing, a place for balance and many interesting areas to discover. Worth it.

Lovely place to spend some reflective time. Several comfortable seating areas to relax and enjoy the zen like environment. Lots of pretty plants.

When you travel on vacation you hope to recharge your mind and spirit while having fun. Our trip to the Sacred Garden did just that. It was an easy drive and worth the time it took to get there.
The labyrinths were just what the doctored ordered. After spending a good hour plus we left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. This is an excellent spot to get away and go up country.

Decided to go of the main road and visit the gardens. It is tucked back in and is worth the short drive there. There are plants and other goodies to buy. Our kids had a blast doing the two labyrinths. We ended up staying a lot longer than I thought we would. They had been hit by a flood (they were back up and fully functional) and in the dry river bed people had stacked rocks - the kids all made their own creation before we moved on.

a quiet peaceful place and small nursery. You can meditate, pray in the Mother Room, examine some cool plant specimens, admire the pretty miniature "gardens", pieces of artwork, walk the 2 labyrinths, or just sit out back under the trees. We enjoyed our stop here. It recharged us :-)

Wonderful labyrinths and plants. It makes a great stop in the middle of the day to restore personal calm. Don't be fooled by the price tag (free); spending time here is a real lift. It has a number of labyrinths, and the staff can provide quick instructions on how to walk the labyrinths for personal fulfillment. Even my engineer husband enjoyed the quiet and the plants. There are several locations in the garden that provide great places to meditate. Also important to mention that the garden embraces all faiths.

This is one of them must see places while on the island. There are beautiful
Gardens with many motivational books and gifts at this Little piece of heaven. Even as a wonderful does many other places on the island this one stands out way above the rest. Great for children to come and take a walk sit in the garden and color and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa

Eve's Sacred Garden of Maliko, Maui is a garden of divinity, love, and peace. Eve is truly an angel and she was the minister for our wedding. The day after we were married on the beach by Eve, we went to her Sacred Gardens and we detected an overwhelming divine presence and peace that moved us to tears. Maui is a spiritual vortex and Eve's Sacred Garden captures the power and beauty of it. The NY Times covered our wedding which was just the two of us with Eve as the Minister and Irene Ryding the harpist. We believe that the incredible opportunity to be a featured couple in the Vows section of the NY Times came about via the divine as there is no other explanation. If you are looking to experience the spirituality of Maui, definitely visit Eve's Sacred Garden. Divine Truth. We actually visited in April 2011.

They have a lot of plants nice to look at and a thing to walk labyrinth its fun for those who like what plants and a walk in a circle as in their picture lol. I go from time to time see you there.

You can tell the place is well taken care of. The plants, the turtle, the decorations. Even one of the wind chimes had the most beautiful sound I've ever heard. A refreshing stop on the busy island.

The Sacred Garden is truly magical. Eve is gifted, her garden is beautiful, so wonderfully curated. I love to walk around the garden and to shop in the gorgeous gift shop. There are so many treasures there! It is a must go when you are on Maui....

The greenhouses were amazing. A lot of unusual plants. I loved all the buddhas plus all the cool wind chimes and chickens. It was a very peaceful experience.

We were positively surprised by finding this little gem in upcountry Maui, from the moment you walk in you can feel the peace of this magical place. An excellent spot to relax, meditate and for sure walk a couple of labyrinths, the biggest one if in the center at the back of the garden, totally worth the drive about 15-20 minutes from the airport.

Had an enjoyable time and very peaceful place with so much beauty... go get re balanced/ grounded... be one with nature

When I am in Maui I go to the Sacred Garden! It's a bit difficult to find, but so worth it! I get a feeling of calmed happiness just walking through the garden...plants, fish, turtles bunnies, birds, etc!

I am visiting Maui from Nashville and stumbled upon this place. So wonderful!! This is a garden, store and green house. It is also a sanctuary, a place to relax, unwind and be peaceful. It is a place to see incredible plants and flowers and shop for souvenirs or plants/flowers and Devore. There are two labyrinths for a spiritual walk. There is much more than I am mentioning. Be sure to stop in! See the tiny chihuahua, Charlie and the St. Bernard mix, Bodhi.

After having lunch in Paia, we decided to just explore the area. We ran across The Sacred Garden of Maiko in Makawao. There were many native plants and local crafts for sale. There are a couple of labyrinth's to walk. You can buy a cup of tea and other snacks and just sit and relax ... which is why you came to Hawaii in the first place, right?

Pretty, peaceful oasis for any belief system. Lots of beautiful plants, a talkative parrot and a kitty (I needed a kitty fix!).
Not a large parking area, easy to find, by donation and worth the trip to the UpCountry.

Do not miss the entrance to the Sacred Garden, marked with a small cement heart on a bend in the narrow winding road. I chose the wrong day to seek peace and solitude there, as a guy with a noisy tractor keeping up a shouting conversation with the lady working there, invaded the garden after 20 minutes of my arrival at ten on Saturday morning. However, I did appreciate the beauty of the garden and walked the laberinth laid out with bricks. There are plants to buy in the nursery, artfully decorated with fish ponds and pottery. The store invites you to buy of the many items displayed, and to help yourself to a mug of tea, coffee or hot chocolate that you can enjoy inside or in the garden. Unexpected wolf whistles from a caged bird also seemed out of place. No fee, but a donation is welcome. Definitely not what I expected.

I brought my kids (10 year old boy & 7 year old daughter) here to see something different from the main tourist/shopping attractions, and we all had a great time. The kids especially wanted to do both labyrinths, but they were enchanted by the animals there (bird, dog, and several fish). The staff was super kind and helpful, and we enjoyed looking at all the different plants. They even provided the kids with cocoa to sip during the visit. When we left, may daughter said "That was super super cool!". We didn't buy anything, but we gave a donation because places like this are rare and the Sacred Garden is worth it!

What a great little place! It is a couple of miles off the main highway, but worth the visit. It is free to wander through the building, admiring all the many and varied plants. There are a tremendous number of cacti. There are ponds and ornaments and two labyrinths (one inside and one outside). There is also a small gift store. The parking lot is quite small, only accommodating about 5-6 cars.

This was my first time attending a meditation on Sunday. The group of people were very pleasant and friendly. They start with bell and quiet time in this garden full of plants birds and chickens and fishes in the ponds. Truly an amazing experience of peace and calm.

Eve Hogan is the owner of The Secret Garden where karma is king. We wanted to marry in Maui, but did not want traditional. We wanted a wedding based on harmony and acceptance of all beliefs. The wedding was everything we hoped for. Eve went above and beyond and even lined up the photographer. When we renew our vows, it will be with Eve at sun sit ocean-side like before.

Such a gem. More than just a place to shop for sure. We were invited to longer as long as we wanted to and we did. You can sit with Buddha and meditate if you wish, you can walk a labyrinth, you can have some complimentary tea, you can sit and read, you can just simply be at peace. And you can also shop for some really cool things from plants to jewelry. Such a gem.

In addition to visiting this amazing place I also was able to rent an incredible airbnb place on the property. The Sacred Garden is just that. I highly recommend visiting and wander the labyrinths.

I highly recommend the Sacred Garden of Maliko. My sweetheart and I stayed four nights here. The owner Eve is a wonderful, warm, wise and welcoming woman. We stayed in the private cottage on site which was perfect for us! It is fully furnished with two bedrooms, kitchen, living room and private bathroom and was relaxing and comfortable. The property is located on the edge of the rain forest and has many fruit trees as well as a huge green house. On site is the green house, small gift store and a walking Labyrinth which are all open to the public. Before arriving we were in touch with Eve and were able to personally customize our stay maximizing the benefits of what we were seeking. We had our yoga instructor (Sally) come right to our cottage each morning for personalized yoga instruction. This was great for us beginners! We also had an intuitive reader, meditation instructor and massage therapists come to our cottage for private sessions. After our sessions in the cottage we met up with Eve in her cozy space inside the greenhouse for private relationship enhancing sessions. WOW, WOW, WOW! This was my favorite part of it all. The tools we learned and took away from these sessions with Eve have brought both of us to a much deeper level in our relationship as well as us on our own personal “spiritual journeys”. I just can’t say enough about it. The experience was earthy, laid back, authentic and moving. Another powerful part of this stay was an introduction to the Labyrinth – neither of us had ever heard of one before but we were open to the whole experience and whatever we could take in. Eve explained the Labyrinth and the purpose of it and gave us instruction as well as some very good personal homework that we were both eager to complete. I won’t get into the details of it but let’s just say if you have the opportunity; it’s one you won’t want to pass up!

Beautiful, peaceful gardens that allow you to completely relax. Everyone there is very welcoming and it's a great place to meditate. The labryinths are amazing! I walked both labryinths and gained a level of stillness I've never experienced before. I will definitely go back the next time I'm in Maui.

This place is like a giant green-house full of uniquely potted plants. It's an inviting garden, serene with several sitting areas throughout. They have two labyrinths to walk while sipping on cold water, tea with honey, or hot chocolate...for FREE! The staff were extremely kind, polite, helpful and welcoming. We stayed for 30 minutes or so and after visiting a local goat farm where we were charged $20 dollars for a 15 minute 'tour,' this was a pleasant surprise. Visit their website. It's true to what you will experience in person. They have free meditation sessions throughout the week. I could not find the calendar on the site with the current courses but was informed of them during my visit. Be sure to call if you can't find what you're looking for...they're very willing to help.

Gorgeous place- so peaceful — love the labyrinths — go here every single time come to Maui ever since discovered the gardens there about 10 yrs ago — loved by our whole family — adults and kids over the years and can’t wait to return later July 2025 with hubby and 2 adult friends this trip who have never visited there before, as I know they will love it — oh and full moon labyrinth walks are sooo amazing — had oppty to do that couple different times over the years, too! Eve is so wonderful and inviting and friendly — all the way 5 star plus — thank you DNA for this wonderful place …. A blessing to all

Great place to go and relax and get in touch with the local spirit. Nicely kept and great for a short chill.

Randomly stopped into this place as we were driving around killing time before checking into our Airbnb. There was one other party walking around the garden at the same time we were. The entry is free. However they do accept donations. The caretaker offered us free hot chocolate, tea, or coffee while we were there. There are two labyrinths on the property After having stressful work days recently, it was nice to fly into Maui and take some quiet time and explore the garden. There is a green house with religious statues and beautiful plant life. There is also an enormous and friendly dog that roams the property. When we interacted with him, he was just chilling under the trees. My boyfriend and I spent a couple of hours there playing chess in the greenhouse until we couldn’t handle the mosquitos flying around and biting us. Overall, we had much needed quiet time!

Went here for the labyrinth...not what I was expecting, but maybe because I don't know a good labyrinth when I see it. I may need to be better connected with my spiritually too. Meditation room, free tea, books to read, nooks to chill in, stuff to buy and a LARGE Buddha I would love in my yard!

We'd been waiting for the rain to stop to go visit this oasis, although they are open daily and have huge umbrellas available. Serenity is available for the taking. A lovely woman is at home here in her wonderful nature sanctuary. We'll need to return at least once before we go back. It starts at the gate: Opposite are an array of lovely island flowers waving in the trade winds passing up the gulch. The stone sign has an immediate "come in" feeling as you enter the parking lot. A large lovely dog greeted us, making me feel even more at home. The entry to the gardens is the gift shop. Try to wait for the release to shop. Maybe start with a fresh cookie, cup of cocoa, coffee or tea. Also wait until the end to decide on the donation you might make for the vast priviledge to wander here, not only unrestricted, but encouraged to take time. The two labrynths are marvelous to see and experience. We'll bring lunch next time, lots of seating areas, both for rest and reflection. We came for the lovely large intricately carved Buddha, we sat with him awhile. Then there is so much more to be seen and experienced. Other options available on request. Conversation is easy and pleasant. I left feeling better in general, positively joyful about the wonders we'd just experienced.
A very nice garden setting with a variety of areas to explore. The Buddha sculpture is so peaceful and perfect for the setting. My family came and all of us enjoyed walking the two labyrinths. Eve has done a wonderful job making this place feel welcoming and sacred and so pleasant to visit!
