Although we didn't ride the horses here, the staff was extremely friendly and they had some neat stuff in the gift shop. They let us see the horse and they had a ton of riding trails.

OMG everyone here is amazing!!! We have visited twice this year, the second for my daughter’s birthday and the staff was fabulous. They take great care of the animals and have always been first class when dealing with my daughters.

For her birthday she wanted to do the longer trail ride and I don’t ride so I signed her and my 13yr old up for the trail ride. I felt very comfortable leaving a 12 & 13 yr old in the care of the staff at the stable and on the trail. Once they were done, the staff called for transportation and sent them back to the hotel. As a bonus to make her day extra special, they gave the two girls a tour of the stable, a candy bar, and had made a card for my daughter for her birthday. A+++

Doug was great with coordinating our ride. The stables, grounds, and trails were all beautiful. The gift shop inside is very nice. They have steps so you don’t have to get into the saddle on your own, and helmets if you choose to wear one. The horses all fall into line on the trail, so no experience necessary if you are a novice. Well run and well done.

After the West Baden Springs hotel concierge was unable to secure us a pony ride, we called the stables ourselves and Doug was able to get us in. We had a 4 yr old and 6 yr old enjoy the best pony ride with the friendliest staff in the entire resort.

Staff was wonderful, informative and patient with our first-time, somewhat apprehensive rider. He cannot wait for his next ride! Horses appeared older but very lovely, gentle and well cared for. Perfect trail horse experience on beautiful grounds.

A great horse riding experience in the woods, Megan was our leader, and she did a great job. Horses were docile, and it was a very peaceful and enjoyable ride.

I came here with my two daughters and our foreign exchange student. My daughters have only ridden trail rides, but the foreign exchange student had never ridden a horse. Everything was perfect from checkin to finish. Tina was an amazing guide and so patient and sweet. We saw several deer and she found us one huge buck. She let us stop and take pictures. She even took my camera to get action photos of all of us. Highly recommend the 45 minute trail ride. Thank you all for a very memorable experience.

The experience was top notch. Kat was our guide and made us feel at ease throughout the entire 45 minute trail ride. They paired us with horses that met our needs and explained how to handle them. The gave instructions for stopping, starting and turning left and right. I would highly recommend this for beginners. To be clear, the stables are at the West Baden Resort.

I simple LOVE the stables !! I spent hours just relaxing looking at all the horses and other animals . The carriage ride was awesome to ! Yes I went on it all alone but it was fun !!!! Take your family here and have a great time ! The shop was cool too !!

This was amazing! Megan and Janna were our guide and we had a great experience. Very professional and I felt safe .
The trail was beautiful and Megan spotted a deer for us and snake ... delightful

My hubby and I enjoyed a pleasant 45 minute ride with Elizabeth as our guide. Our horses were Hank and Jack, who were well behaved. The trail was challenging (up and down a lot of hills) but the horses handled it like champs.

We really enjoyed our horseback riding here. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Our trail guide, Matt, was wonderful. I would highly recommend this experience.

We had a great time today. Our horses Hank and Bo were gentle. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We were originally scheduled for the prior day but weather forced us to reschedule.
Definitely worth going.

Took our little 4 year old grandson here for a pony ride. He had a great time! He was too young for horses, so the pony was perfect. Staff is very friendly. He was happy to get a cowboy hat to remember this by. Take your little ones and have fun.

Great ride through the forest at French Lick, West Baden Springs property. Lindsey and Megan do their best to make your ride safe, and enjoyable. It was such a nice treat to get outdoors and enjoy the nature trails. We actually did trail rides on two separate days and enjoyed both rides. The horses are beautiful, well trained and very tame. I am afraid of horses and felt comfortable with Check and also Dooley. This is a fun adventure while visiting the area.

We took a walk down from the resort to visit the horses. They were beautiful and the staff was beyond amazing. There was a lot of flooding that effected the stables.

Booked a trail ride with my daughter, who is an experienced rider. I am NOT. The staff did a great job of matching us up with great horses who are well trained. The guide was fun and friendly and we got to ride on the hilly, wooded part of the property. Was a very pleasant experience and suitable for all riding abilities.

After a short ride through the forest you come to the horse stables, Elizabeth gave us a tour of the stable and introduced us to some of their horses. If you go on a ride, it is perfect as it is through the forest and you feel just wonderful

Fun activity to take for a peaceful horseback ride through the woods. Very fair admission with local discounts available. Had a great time over the 45 minute ride. Beautiful scenery and nicely kept horse stables. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend. Polly, the horse, was the best. Thanks for an enjoyable time. I’m sure I’ll feel a little sore tomorrow but for now, awesome memories.

Its a little pricey compared to other horseback ventures I've gone on, but when
you see how pristine the barn and pasture is, and how healthy and well cared
for the horses are, I didn't mind paying a little more. The trail trough the woods
is beautiful any time of year. Often see deer and wild turkeys. Past old chimneys
and ruins of former cabins and church. I'm happy there is more to do at French Lick than gamble or golf!

I have to say I left extremely upset and frustrated. We took a 45 min trail ride, and a few minutes into the ride I could tell something was not right with my horse. I was right behind the female trail guide and twice I mentioned to her that he was favoring his left front leg. He tripped several times, stepped very lightly on that leg and once even fell on his knee on it on a hill. She barely acknowledged my observation and noever once did she check him over. I felt she did not care for his well being at all! I have been around horses quite a bit and I know most people would have checked on him, at least to see if there was a stone in his shoe etc. She did nothing! If this is how they care for their horses that is very disappointing. It really made me leave concerned and not having enjoyed this experience.

Tried on cowboy hats, met the horses and guide, and set off for a leisurely ride through the woods to observe all of the fall colors. Guide was informative and friendly. Saw the stables after the ride.

In case a pony ride for $17 is enough reason to stop the grounds should be. There is a nice little spot for horseshoes, a cool pavilion, chickens, goats and a horseshoe pit. My family and I spent an hour just enjoying the amenities and high vistas.

We stopped in to see the horses while we were vacationing. Just strolled through the gift shop and spoke with the workers. They took us on a tour of the stables and we met some horses. Very friendly and clean facility.

My wife and enjoyed a nice, slow trail ride with Tina, who did a great job leading us. The manager, Doug, is wonderfully friendly. Our horses were nice and calm. Great experience.

We are in our 70s and thought it would be fun to try something new. We were repeatedly reassured about our 45-minute ride. We were offered helmets. we were assisted in the mounting process and the staff was always looking out for us on the trail by giving us tips. Was a fun experience.

My boyfriend and I decided to go horse back riding while staying for our week vacation in the Villas at french lick resorts. The stables is a great place to go for two or a big group! They are friendly and make sure you are well taken care of and enjoy yourself! They ask If you want a bottle of water before you get on the horses with cup holders provided and as your walking out they ask again! I love this place and will be coming back again when I visit next!

My husband and I went on the 45 minute ride. The staff is incredible. Professional, polite, friendly, helpful and very warm. You can tell the horses are loved and well taken care of. I was terrified to go on the ride and they reassured me and matched me with a sweetheart of a horse and also put me in the front to be close to our guide Tina. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. I can't say enough about how wonderful she was. Within minutes, all my fears faded with her help. I loved it! Definitely would go back.

Our grandchildren really enjoyed their horse ride through the woods. The man who runs the stables is delightful and the staff is super friendly. Make sure you have mosquito repellent.
